Good day. Welcome to Barn Burner on your Tuesday.
I wasn't sure either.
Tuesday, hey?
How long does it take to schedule?
It's a schedule.
What do you?
Like, because I sat down yesterday.
You mapped it all out?
And that's why I was confused what day it was.
I looked at the schedule and the calendar.
Holy cripes.
I was pretty sure.
Three hours.
At least Thursday by today.
Three hours and I got two flights book.
Really?
That's pretty good.
Flights?
Not bad.
Flights?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
But how far off are these flights?
July 3rd.
Okay.
It's ways.
It's not, it's outside of two weeks, which is abnormal.
That is, for you, that's brave.
Yeah.
That's the day after stampede.
Can I leave my dog with you?
Yes.
You go see Dasha and then fly somewhere.
Yeah.
And tell us where you're going.
Where are you going?
Buffalo.
Yeah, I go to Buffalo.
July 4.
July 4th.
Oh, that's.
That's right.
250 years of kicking ass and taking it.
Are you bringing Jack?
He'd love going to Montana.
I'm almost F-bonged Jack.
Jack is rubbing me wrong.
Montana for sure.
He was.
He's going to stop it in, build me a deck and head to Mantana.
You want me to build the deck?
No.
Nor are you idiots, buddies.
Welcome to the show.
It's a presentation of Bet365.
Download the app today.
You must be 19 or older.
Please play responsibly.
You know, I don't know.
We are live as we are here on your YouTube.
You put money in along with a comment in the YouTube comment section,
and the money goes to the U-Sendos of Calgary.
We'll put your comment on the show.
I was talking with somebody I guess last week's.
I didn't realize I could just listen.
What do you mean?
Well, I, because, you know, I could just listen to the show.
Yeah.
You could listen to the podcast.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's, why wouldn't you want to see this?
I don't know.
That's the thing.
I can't always.
I don't know this beefcake here.
You don't want to soak it up.
What the hell?
Yeah.
Jack.
New Yankees, baby blue.
Matches.
Look at us going.
Papa Smurf over here.
Jeez.
Yeah.
He's calling Papa Smurf.
Nah, no, no, no.
What this?
No.
It's hilarious.
Why is that a dig?
It's not a dig.
It's a boomocracy.
Boom.
Is that a compliment or is that a dig?
I don't know what a compliment feels like, so I would have no idea.
We're here in the McLeodlaw, LLP Studios.
Cabby is down the hall, making us feel good about ourselves.
He's trying.
You had a tough bit of lifting today.
Oh, no.
What? Does he need McLeod law?
He was trying to come in and cheer us up and I'm like,
Cabby, we got nothing to talk about.
There's nothing going on.
No, we've luckily had some breaking news.
There's stuff going on.
We still have a duck in as much as we can.
Oh, there's so much to dig into it.
There is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I can't wait to do it.
Oh, baby.
I can't wait to do it here in the McLeod Law, LLP studios.
What happens in Buffalo on July 4th?
Is there, this is, uh, back it up to you?
Fireworks.
There's,
it's,
ooh.
Derry!
Yeah.
Probably burgers.
Maybe a dog.
Be interesting to just hang out outside of an ER.
You know,
just watch the people roll in with their finger,
firework.
I can't face.
Turkey deep frying injuries.
Now,
there's a lot of action.
Yeah,
I bet.
Yeah.
There's a baseball game.
Lou Jays Farm team.
Amazing.
I think Bieber's got one more start.
He'll chase farm team.
And they,
they shoot off.
the fireworks down there.
Then you're nice and close to Chippewa.
Is that still Salem field or is it now?
Saylo.
S-A-H.
Does the high dog company?
What a hot dog.
What a hot dog.
Hot dogs.
That when I got traded to Buffalo,
the owner of the team had made his fortune
or how he started out making his fortune,
selling hot dogs.
Yeah.
Really? Mr. John Regis.
Yep.
Like the guy outside Cowboys or what do you mean?
It's a dog father.
He started there and then he bought the savers.
And he bought the team.
Then my kid yesterday said,
Dad, did you know that Elon Musk could buy
every professional sports franchise on the planet
and still have $300 million.
He'd have lots of smart changes after it.
Yeah.
That is one of those things for guys like me and Jack,
you know, real smart guys.
When people start to break down.
So, okay, Eli, a trillionaire.
So if you had like 0.1%,
who that so that is a lot of money
then a trillion dollars is a lot of money
lots you have to work hard to blow that
you got to tell your son that you're not allowed to
have multiple teams in these leagues
it's odd they've picked up on this rich
successful human being
because yeah
they've been talking about them since the SpaceX BS
and then they're sitting on Snapchat
and I said I bet you that's what's what Elon's doing
I bet you that's exactly what he's up to
that's how we got
That is that's the paved the path to riches with snapchats.
Brilliant parkour videos at two in the afternoon.
How we make our trillion, son.
No, I've, you know, hey.
Hey, hey, it's great day.
It's Tuesday.
Incredible wealth is overrated.
I would have to think.
The what's overrated?
Incredible wealth.
I don't think so.
No.
No.
I think it's.
Yeah.
A lot of stress, though.
I guess you have to worry all about all these hangers on.
A friend bus would have to be really full.
Seal the doors.
No new friends.
Dean, it would be great.
Dean would whatever.
You're ready for generational wall.
You would never see me ever.
No kidding.
You don't now.
Ever.
Yeah.
See, when Vegas Golden Knights need a new head coach.
As it was confirmed this morning that John Tortorella will not return.
Well, I don't blame him.
Flip your buddy there.
old what's his name?
My buddy.
Flip at him the bird.
There you see.
Kelly McCrimmon says he will not return to the team's coaching staff following the season.
It was all the,
hey, thank you, John.
It was great.
We got to sell the cup and wish you and all of yours.
That was a good run.
Wish you and all of yours all the best.
Do you think there's bad, buddler?
No.
I don't know.
I'm not as convinced as a flat out.
Absolutely not.
I mean, clearly we're all, no one's inside and has inside, like who knows what
the hell's going on.
but from afar,
it just feels like their plan was always the guy
they'd been grooming for nine years to be their head coach.
Yeah,
but that doesn't mean that Tortorilla didn't appreciate
the fucking throwing them out there under the bus.
I mean,
they're a couple wins away from it being the ultimate success story.
Yeah,
like if they win,
are we sure he's back?
Or is it still potentially this outcome?
Well,
because of this,
I think it does change.
My thoughts on it.
If,
yeah,
because it all,
like I say,
it almost went as well as you could expect.
what boarded it?
Well, you have to win the cup.
Two weeks before the end of the regular season.
Yeah, they were not leading their division.
We're not going to say, well, we're going to run right to the cup final here.
If they stub their toe, they could have missed the playoffs.
And instead, they were two wins shy of a cup.
It's hard to not have, it's hard to go better than it did.
Like, if, if, if you reel off 14 wins in the playoffs as a team that was
massively underperforming with two weeks to go, like, I'm sorry, there must have been
another plan the whole way because he crushed it.
You know what I'm doing better?
I'm leaving the door open for your thought
that it might not be as harmonious as you might expect.
If, well, two things.
If the Anderson coach, Brian Craig, right?
Right.
Henderson, yeah.
That's what he said.
Sorry, I thought you said Anderson.
No, that's what he said.
If he was being groomed, why did the fuck they just bring him up?
I'm grumpy.
I didn't sleep.
Why didn't they just bring him up instead of torts?
Sure, there's reasons, but if this is,
all this is our plan.
Yeah.
And to me, John Tortorello did not look impressed.
Besides Kelly McRibbon during that media thing.
I get that, but he never looks impressed doing media.
The worst of torts is when he's in front of media.
So you're just of the opinion that it could be right.
I don't know what's, we're guessing.
Like, we're literally guessing.
I think there's a chance that what you're saying is true.
I think there's some undertones.
I think that torts would have appreciated, you know what?
So you think.
He is a straight shooter.
I don't care what he's sitting.
But if I'm torts him,
I'm sitting beside him and it's like, yeah.
Oh, so let's play that game then.
So they throw him under the bus.
You can just say, hang on, hang on.
You think that they went to torts and he said,
no, I'm not coming back.
No, I think he was pissed off.
I think they,
so did they, they wanted him back.
I don't know.
I think it was true.
I'm not saying we know.
We're guessing.
But what is your,
your guess is that he said that was,
that hurt my feelings.
I'm not coming back.
My guess is that my.
my, oh my God, observation.
Yeah.
Is that that would be a possibility.
That isn't standing beside your guy.
No, it isn't.
You're right.
It was it didn't.
It wasn't.
Again, I don't, end of the world.
I didn't throw a fit about it.
I don't.
But there were some undertones of,
I told you not to do that and you did it anyway.
So screw you.
I'm throwing you out there.
Yeah.
Like, and John and I have spoken on the topic and we will not speak anymore.
And John's like, I haven't spoken yet.
Yeah.
But then he,
He speaks glowingly about wanting to continue to coach at the end.
It's like, I'm trying to make sense of it.
But that's the other reason where it's like, well, I think he's sliding out.
He's two wins away from a Stanley Cup win.
Like, yeah, there are.
So if Vegas has their way, they'd have shorts back or not?
No.
So maybe they both weren't ready for it.
I, that's what I'm saying.
I think that this is both are moving on.
As good as it went, there's, I still.
Well, and torts his stock has to have taken a huge bump here.
There was also, and again, I didn't.
There, there were.
some who felt like the,
some of the moves made by Torterella in the final.
There was stubbornness to it.
There was some stubbornness to it.
The utilization is Barbish,
with Barbichev and Barbachev and the struggling,
and things that you could have done,
the heart goal tender,
the,
the,
the coach's challenge that was highly,
highly,
ever unlikely to be successful.
And then doubling down on it,
post game,
saying I'm 100 out of time.
And I mean, that's fine.
That's what you do.
But I'm kind of with you.
I think that there was,
we will talk about this at the end and see how it goes
and it was great until it wasn't and
well that's just it this was
there were amazing this is great we're up
yeah and you talk about about
you know his comments
to me that was kind of a telling thing
because again I speak you know
I speak that language
yeah well no Tortorella when he was talking
I'm leaving my clothes here there's nothing
oh this is stupid as quick like he was panicked
and with good reason
when he was talking about the team,
like they are a good team and they will be back.
And I want,
I want a coach.
Like he planted those seeds to let it be known.
I don't think he's looking to coach the Vegas Golden Knights necessarily.
I think he's letting it be known.
I'm out here,
but I am looking to coach.
My gut is that he wanted to be back.
Because I don't know when you look around,
you're going to find a situation as good as this one.
You probably also did it like you're thrown under.
Well, yeah.
There's only two spots open.
Yeah.
And this is way better than the other one.
Yeah.
I don't think he's saying, I need to coach before the start of the next season.
It's just, well, I think he wants to coach.
And honestly, I think he, you know, whatever happened, we don't know, we're playing the guessing game.
But immediately the takeaway is like, I think this guy has to be on Edmontson's shortlist if they're serious.
Do you this towards comes back to Canada?
That's a good question.
I mean, if you were going to do it, it would have to be for the right reasons.
And, you know, those two star star star is on their prime.
I would do a short term thing there.
I wouldn't go five years like Vancouver did.
I think that Torz does not want to come back to Canada,
but if he looked at the opportunity,
if Edmonton,
yeah,
because they're all idiots up there,
and I have no idea what they're doing.
But if Edmonton did approach him with a bunch of money,
he'd have to consider,
like what if you said,
here's 12 million bucks for two years.
We're going to ride Connor into the sunset.
I think he'd probably consider that really strongly,
as much as I don't think the media and him would get along,
as much as it's Canada.
I think it's the exact descriptor of the coach they've tried to hire.
They wanted Cassidy Wals.
veteran, winner, has pushed guys, is not a
wallflower defensive structure.
Laviella, got a lot of those traits.
Babs has a lot of those traits.
This guy's got all those traits too.
They don't want a young green new age coach.
They want to go old school.
He's that.
I would be stunned if they don't reach out immediately.
Not that I want them to get a good coach, but it fits.
Can I ask you a question?
I don't disagree with you at all.
But how do you handle we've started an investigation into Mike Babcock and take her off the rails and start heading the other direction?
I think it's the same as when you ask for permission to talk to Cassidy and you've got an extension.
The ink's still wet on and your coach is still employed.
It's like you're burning the boats and we're going to look like idiots, but if we get our guy, who cares?
It's not like it's been handled well to this point.
It'll just be another blunder in the long line of blunders in this coaching hire.
So they clearly aren't too worried about the optics the way they've approached the ship.
leak they have their own sources leaking that Vegas wasn't giving permission while their own coach was still under contract
it worked in i i just it works in Vegas i was going to say i'm just kind of walking through talking
myself through this so it worked in Vegas to a certain to almost the perfection towards what did you
have there where you had a team that recently won the cup star players veteran group great locker room that
like that whole thing.
Can, could he do the same in Edmonton?
Does Edmonton have the same traits that Vegas has?
I think when we looked at Vegas and Edmonton in the regular season,
we felt the same way about them.
Something's wrong here.
They should be better than the results.
And there's some sort of disconnect between coaching group.
Yep.
And it could have been Edmonton that went out and got torts at the Olympic break.
When Leon threw his coaching staff under the bus on his way over to Italy.
Instead, they're like,
no, no, no, we'll put Paul coffee on the bench.
We're going to keep Knobber, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And then you look at what the Islanders did.
They lock up DeBore.
He's not available to the Oilers in the summer.
You look at what Vegas did.
They get torts in the last week.
It completely turns their fortunes around after looking like a team nowhere near their ceiling.
They're two wins from a Stanley Cup.
You probably wished you'd gone and done it.
And now they will.
And if you're worried about the Babcock thing, then you let the investigation go.
You quietly talk to torts or as loud as you want and just say, look,
we don't need a headache if you're ready to come here
like who owes Mike Babcock anything
he's the guy putting in hot water with his past.
You probably said something to the man
and you're just a bunch of like at this point
you've already you've got egg on your face anyway
what's another one?
What's another egg?
My word don't mean shit so why shit theirs?
Like have they promised Babbs the job?
I don't know. They clearly have interest.
You have to have thought if they're saying Babs
we're going to put you through the ringer here but we'll give you
the job once.
Yeah.
I don't disagree that.
I also wonder if there's a ruthlessness,
like we talk about Vegas,
I'll cut through there.
We're like, well, this guy's now available.
Things change.
But you know what?
Maybe.
They're such donkeys because guess what?
If they had waited the week like we said.
Yeah.
Oh, weird.
Or if they got their business done at the Olympic break when it was clear that
group wasn't responding to that coach.
God,
I hope they keep messing up.
It's so fun to get passionate and excited about the energy just.
See?
Look at you.
You're back.
But it is the technical.
the higher they want, right?
When he would be a great fit.
He's better than Babs.
I agree.
There's no baggage.
This guy just stepped in with Vegas.
He's prickly with,
he knows what Vegas is made of.
How this will help?
Prickly with the media, that's it.
You can manage that.
Who cares about it's pretty minor compared to the,
you know, this investigation
might drag on for weeks, months.
The thing of,
that's a bigger distraction.
Take a shot.
There's no need to do that.
No, I don't, to me,
I think it would come down.
to his torts.
Does he need to coach
before the start of the season?
Does he view the Oilers situation
as one that you have to?
How could you not?
It's the, I don't know.
Let's think, I mean,
like where else could you go and land
with two superstars and a 95 point defenseman?
Like, yeah, there's some flaws
and there's some holes, but that's a pretty good
fucking start. That's why we laugh at them.
They've gone a decade with all these pieces and have no
cups to show for it.
Because you have all these good players.
Yeah.
I'm curious about,
about the Babcock thing. I was going to, I grabbed the, is it still a tweet? What do you do on X now?
I don't even know. Just keep on them tweets. Uh, Jason Greger, uh, from up in Edmonton, who's been there for
a long time. He's on our network. Response via a text from an NHL player agent. When I asked about
the Oilers coaching rumor, quote, the opportunity to play with McDavid or Drysidal is diminished with
the potential to be coached by Babcock. It's a valid concern voiced to me by a few of my clients.
I wonder if the city of Edmonton is the tiebreaker
with all the festivals and such
That's a good point.
They've got a river.
I'd break the tie.
It's got brown water in the river day.
It's why this whole thing is so
interesting to watch from
miles away.
Please continue to be smarter than everyone else.
And it's like, no, no, no, no.
Like Connor and Leon, they gave us the thumbs up
and you're like, yeah, you think he's bullying the superstars in their prime?
No, it's.
always the fringe of the roster.
The agents have got to figure it out.
Hey, you can be a third liner in Edmonton or this other city.
I don't want to put you anywhere near Babs.
This guy can end your career.
I was thinking about what the,
like in a role playing kind of a scenario,
what it would be.
It's like, so, you know,
this hand is the Oilers.
And on this hand, it's Gary.
It's like, hey,
we'd like to hire Mike Babcock.
We're thinking he could be our coach.
You know, there's stuff with Babs?
I got just, you, are you where?
stuff well they're in Columbus when he was there like fucking Google it okay which you
okay give me a sec here oh okay so is he suspended or no he's not suspended but there's
going to have to be some stuff if you you have to be very serious if you're serious about it
then there's going to have to be like a we're going to have to go through some stuff okay well
let me think about it no yeah we want to hire yeah we
We talked to Connor that we he's our guy.
He's our guy.
Okay.
So if we go down this road and we find some shit,
then you're not going to be able to hire them.
And either way,
you're going to have some stuff come out in the meantime.
You're not going to call me back while we're doing this and say you want out.
This is we're doing this, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We're doing it.
Okay.
All right.
Well, call our people.
They'll get on it.
All right.
I'll call you back.
And then meanwhile, the whole hockey world goes fucking crazy.
All this stuff comes out.
Babs this, Babs this, Babs that.
I wonder if we should have thought about this.
Jerry's.
And Gary said through the hall.
Bill!
Bill, get down here.
We have an investigation to announce.
I'm going to need to just, uh,
hi, could I, uh, could I have Gary, please?
this better not be what I think it is
what do you
what do you think it is
if you're reading all this bad press
and all this shit's coming up and now you're getting
cold feet because and you want me to
like if that's what this is
no no no no
although well it's kind of been worse than we
a lot of people think it's a bad idea
but it's
not just wanted to say great final
yeah I
I'm aware it was a great final except for you know some distractions along the way but yes it was a great final it's all the you're not you're
were we still doing this you did not make us do this and everything now because you're too no we're good yeah just checking in
have a good day and then torts gets fired torts is available oh shit if we'd awaited and then
there wouldn't have been an investigation for no no no he's just he's literally employed like last week
What all we need now is for the Oilers to hire Babcock and then Vegas to allow teams to speak with Cassidy.
Yes.
That's what we need.
That would be great.
I wonder if they, like, we don't know how these con, you don't see them.
It's not a standard player contract.
It's not like all the stuff.
Only the league and the teams see it.
Could you allow permission for Cassidy to talk to the team in the east, but not someone in the division?
I feel like you could.
Yeah, no, no, no.
No, no, not you.
No.
These guys, sure, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, we're playing your boots, Toronto.
We're not worried about seeing you in the final.
Is that team in the east in our division?
No.
Then let her rip.

There's one twist I could ask for, potentially hockey gods.
Just a quick little one.
Could you have Edmonton ask for permission to Vegas to talk to torts?
And they say no until July 1 because you only had a couple of weeks.
It won't last long, but it'll be a good little laugh.
Hey, what about torts?
Oh, shit.
We're not allowed to.
Is he with Vegas, too?
You're going to have to wait until July 1st.
God damn it.
Maybe they'll give us permission.
I don't know.
Well, yeah, it's, it was a bold and ballsy move.
It seems to bring in torts and it worked.
Sure did.
They did not get the ultimate goal, but it went better than anybody could have.
Quickly decided to part ways.
Very quickly, yeah.
Ryan Craig sounds like he's going to be the new guy.
You had more intel on him yesterday.
I'd noted that he was coaching their HL affiliate for, what, the last six
and the first three years of the franchise history.
He was on the bench as an assistant coach,
and you'd noted he goes way back with Kelly McCrim.
Yeah, he was the captain of the Week Kings back in 2000s,
the aughts, is that what they call that, somewhere in there.
So.
It's Jack dead?
And then when McCriman goes to Vegas, Ryan Craig is quickly behind the bench.
I played a little bit in Tampa.
Ryan Craig, as I recall.
Yeah.
But, yeah, I just know covering him as a player.
He was always the most mature guy was obviously the captain.
Then he goes and he's, well, yeah, he's going to be a coach.
He's behind the bench.
I didn't realize he'd been head coaching as long as he had been for Henderson.
So suddenly it's nine years.
Like it's.
Yeah.
So that would.
Three is an assistant.
Six is the head for the H.
And if you were, if you were an assistant and you're like, hey, I want to be a head coach in
NHL what do I need to do I feel like McCrimmon would be like we'll go be the head coach
and learn what a head coach does with our affiliate we'll bring you up when you're ready
go ahead sir thick boy dick boy I scored a hat I scored a hat trick in beer league on his line
really well you got that's how good he is he has a magician apparently thank him in off you
yeah what do you see there give us the boy what's his dimensions a lot of time in Brandon
to 6 2 220 250 fifth overall in the 2002 NHO and
entry draft oh two the odds hundred ninety eight NHL games 63 points yeah and now he coaches he's a nice boy
as a general abbott'sford abbey there you go man that's loud what's that always huh yeah your headphones
must be loud must have had some nerd show in here last night must have been must have been
Nerd alert.
Nerd alert.
There's a couple things.
There's a couple things.
And we can, I guess I can let you, you know, decide as we get into it.

They got the professionals.

Experts helping you out.
9309 McLeod Trail South.
And a Northland location in the Northland Village Mall.
We turn the heat up in here.
You just turned it down.
We've quickly gone from too warm to too cold.
I am not too cold.
I'm sweating bullets.
Yeah.
I walked in and she was hot.
She was hot.
Crack a window.
Well, not Jack.
Because,
hot Jack summer.
He's used to it.
Yeah.
He is used to it.
Very used to it.
We can talk.
Flames.
I think my kid stole a pair of those skates from a team.
Really?
I got my high five.
I'm like, that's brilliant.
Good for you, son.
Way to go.
Picking up for the old man left off.
It's good work.
Who was it?
They kept all the,
don't worry about the pilsotorate and shaving kit.
Oh, Hammer.
Roman Hammer, like,
The hammer.
Like, Roman, you're making like four million bucks here.
Do you have any more of these baby shampoos?
Buddy.
Still using them.
Every time you go to a hotel.
It's great.
I have some questions that we can go through.
20 questions?
Not quite.
Close.
In the neighborhood.
I love music.
I can play music.
I like music.
Taco Time?
Or we can talk.
It's, well, it's Taco Tuesday.
It's Taco Tuesday.
I can't never bring it on Tuesday.
We had it on Thursday.
You whining about what day you're getting your free food?
That good point by you.
I feel like we've had it on a Tuesday.
I think we have it too.
We have.
It ended me.
Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday.
$2.00B for veggie tacos.
Unlimited.
Get as many as you want on Thursdays as we saw last week.
Things are burritoful.
Burritoful Thursday, but I wouldn't get one on any
A brillo, but, uh, so you can go to Taco Tuesday.
You can get to build, build your own taco box.
I feel like that's the way.
Walking out with the bag of the tacos is great.
That's it.
Well, the way is when they drop it off.
That is also.
You can orchestrate that.
It's pretty good.
Yeah, it's really good.
Find a taco time nearest, near you.
It's going to be easy to do.
There's over 125 of them across the country.
Taco Tuesday.
The originators of the Taco Tuesday.
Good job talkal time.
Seriously,
that's good job.
Could have the loaded mexie fries on the weekend.
Really?
Hit?
Oh, yeah.
I took,
I took some of the leftovers,
hard to believe they were.
Oh, yeah.
I took some of those home.
Whatever.
And I know you guys were kind of like,
you know,
you don't need to bring dessert.
We don't need the desserts.
They brought plenty of dessert for us.
Whatever those rolls,
I've got to look on long.
The churals or something else.
Not the churals,
but in there they had kind of.
Cherry pie thing?
really really oh what you made if you give me that look that makes me what do you shut the front
door the front door shut the front door the cherry and the apple in there
with some brown like cinnamon did uh mrs boon cat get to flavor the no save for the flavor
no no no it's too bad no working later there you go all gone back it's father's day not the other
time that's right well we could do some questions if you want yeah they might not i'm not sure i think
there is maybe some torterella stuff in.
Toons.
You're going to have to, uh, well, we'll have good answers.
Yeah, I'm not sure about that.
You want twos?
Yeah.
Ain't all about it. I don't know why.
Oh, whatever.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Am I ready now?
Really got him going.
It did.
Yep.
I'm going to feed us.
Did you golf?
I golf yesterday, yeah.
And we'll tell you in the Penderport.
I don't want to stop.
Here we go.
Sorry, Dean.
No, that's good.
No, that's good.
The Buffalo Sabers had the biggest increase in points from
from 2024 to 25
season to this past year,
they had a 30 point increase.
Who will have the biggest increase
from this season to next?
Oh,
Toronto.
30's a lot.
Chicago.
Take a beat.
Chicago Blackhawks.
Toy you wrong toe.
Chicago finished what,
sad?
Chicago had 72 points.
I don't think they're getting 30.
But I think they're,
They want to make some moves here.
Leaves had 78 points.
Yeah, Leaves is a good pick.
Other teams that could be poised for a bounce back, maybe Florida.
Florida is a big.
Winnipeg would be a candidate.
Winnipeg had 82.
Yeah, 30s.
What did San Jose finish with?
They had 86 points.
I'm going to say San Jose.
I think they jump in the contender row next year.
Now, what about Vancouver?
See, I think they can jump without getting as many points.
Vancouver, I think, is solid.
The only reason I throw Vancouver is because they were,
They have, I feel like they'll be right for it.
The most room to go.
58 cuts.
Yeah, that's true.
That is a low total.
You could have 70 finish last.
It's only a 12 point improvement.
Do you think that's...
I don't know whoever they pick at three is even going to play this year either.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know a place here.
Hey, new shitty.
Hey, you want to come in and watch a last place team operate?
Maybe just to your coach.
Yeah.
Keep working on your kids.
Yeah, let the coach do some stuff.
Move on some deadwood.
This one hurts my heart.
Oh, dear.
Does Kail McCar sign an extension with Colorado prior to puck drop for 26, 27?
Well, I don't want to hurt your heart, Dean.
It can only take so much.
I know.
It's taken so much already.
It's that last feather on the camelback.
Your hopes, Dean.
He loves the mountains and the foothills, but he does for no hours.
Can I give you a little hope?
He signs an extension before the season starts.
It is not.
a max-term deal. It is a short-term deal.
I'll, uh, Matthews, McDade.
How many years? Two to four years.
Why would you commit?
With the cap growing like crazy.
That's, yeah, it's a fair point.
I guess the point is, does he sign an extension of any time?
Yeah.
I'd love to see it not go that way, do you?
Craig.
Jack, temporary.
Ample McCart?
Yes.
Sorry, don't ask.
I did like your crusade, but it was always going to be a hellman.
There were two 50 goal scores this year.
McKinnon had 53.
Coughfield had 51 goal.
Now close.
McDavid, David, 48.
Robertson, Capriza, Dwight Johnson,
Cellebrini had 45.
How many 50 goal scores next season?
I'll say six.
I was going to say five.
I think two years ago we had a bunch.
Matthews about spare?
Yeah, I could.
I mean, he'll be better than what, 20 whatever we had this year?
Cutter Goce had 44, I think.
Celebrating five more?
Yeah, hell, yeah.
Robertson, sure.
We'll see where.
The problem is that some of these things are like,
yeah, of course they're going to be better.
I think they're pretty good.
This year, these guys.
The Caulfield might not do it again.
Everything went into.
But there's some guys.
Five.
Okay.
And I don't know what Olympic break or if that, you know,
the guy's going to be a whirlwell.
There's more games.
We didn't take it all of it.
There is two more games next.
More games.
Oh.
Oh.
Maybe seven.
Let's put it this way.
There was eight guys that had 44 or more.
We know that McKenzie Wager is not a Calgary Flame.
We know that Rasmus Anderson is not a Calgary Flame.
There's an older guy.
But it's Ball and Restevich as a kid and Persevich as a kid.
Should the Flames be shopping for a veteran D-Man July 1st?
No.
No.
White Cloud and White Cloud and Ball and...
Jack? Jack?
No.
No.
No copy us, Jack.
Sorry, got.
Get your own damn tics.
Man, Yankees.
Where does Dylan Larkin play next season?
Minnesota!
Bill Garan!
That's the easy answer and probably the correct one, but I'll say San Jose.
That's a spicy meatball.
You've got the Capitol, and if you put him with a salad, but you kidding me?
Shut the front of.
No.
Shut the front of crap.
Vegas.
Oh, Jack wants me.
Oh, boy, Jack.
I was going to say, of course, if not Pittsburgh, then.
right right
right
yeah
well how's
Vegas gonna make
that
I don't know
how do they make
anything work
right I guess
that's a
they're gonna center
death
he doesn't have to
make it work
he's just saying
where he's going
he can't read
I'm letting him
have his thing
well yeah
just beat the piss
out of him
now that he gave
an answer
way to go
X
it's that Yankee
only two teams
need a head coach
Toronto and
Edmonton
no Edmonton's got
well
Vegas needs
two days
wow
who hires
the coach
first
I will say
Toronto.
I don't think I like I like
Toronto's not a rush but I think these
Babbs thing is going to drag man
you got guys on vacation you got to bring it and talk to
and now that we think about like I think
torts would be a good fit but torts might be looking at that
and going as good as they are
you're clearly
there's some issues there idiotic
what's that what I call Jack
clinically
clinically idiotic but like he might be going
if there is, this is how they operate.
I might not.
He will make calls.
If he's offered the job, if he's in the,
he will make calls and I don't know that he'll get
glowing.
If he calls Woody or Knobber.
So that's the question.
So that's the question here.
Will Mike Babcock ultimately end up as the Oilers next time?
I say yes.
I'll say no.
I'm all for the drama.
Either way, just let's drag this thing on.
really, really embarrassed
this. I believe that the Orders believe
that they're smarter than everyone else and that we're all
we're all the fanical idiots
and they'll show us.
So I think they're going to
they're going to put their steak in the ground
and they're going to stand by it. It's tough to argue with
all their rings and parades. It really is. Jack,
does Babber
end up being the coach?
Yes, he does. Babber. We'll back.
So those babbers.
Babb.
We are, uh,
We're approaching
unrestricted free agency.
Oh, baby.
Free agent frenzy,
STSN calls him.
Oh,
what a thrilling event,
yeah.
Does Darren Radish play in Tampa next season?
I'm growing rash.
I say no.
Oh, my garden.
No,
I don't know what good useful.
It's a little salty to see them as a,
you know what?
It's spicy.
They're a decent little garnish for,
for a Caesar.
Good palate cleansing.
A garnish?
A Caesar drink or a salad?
Drink.
better than you're hauling it out of there it's a nice that's a darn it but you're not really
oh yeah dog eats it by the barrel yeah i don't know really big yeah oh yeah maybe i'm sleeping
radish i say he's back yeah okay i said leave i just think that someone's gonna offer nine plus
the term nine i'm already playing the music does john carlson go back to anaheim
oh i think he likes it there sure the whirlwinds saying no
Oh, what?
I don't follow rumor mills.
I know, and they might be wrong.
There's some thoughts that he likes the East.
The East.
Well, get the hell out of the...
But, like you say,
team looks like it's on the upswing.
You couldn't pick a team that's...
He fits in the future the next three or four years
it's better than that one, could you?
Quenville.
It's a great coat.
Kids that are top shelf players.
Leo, Cutter.
Oh.
Have you been to Newport?
Beach Beach.
Oh,
New Park.
Yeah.
I'm sure John Carlson had a nice place in Virginia or wherever he was in living, but
the beach of the pool is a little nicer.
Yeah.
Anyway,
that'll be an interesting one for sure.
And that deal, I think Annam had to make the playoffs where it come first as conditional.
A few walks, that's, you had a good two months ago, but dang it.
Yeah.
They want them back.
Very young.
We're fine.
I'd love to see him get back there.
Has Jonathan Taves played his last NHL game?
Yes.
I can't be sure.
Yep.
Sadly.
He was a hell of a player, a hell of a roll on a.
A hell of a competitor.
A hell of a leader.
And a hell of a comeback from a spot where body basically didn't want to accept anything.
It's what happened to Jack, baby.
Really?
He cooked yourself right now.
You got to go to India.
I started doing some yoga.
You've lost your system.
Reset it.
Yeah. Fast.
It's not one day.
He needs it 40.
He needs a power cycle.
A 40 day fast.
Yes.
Get under the mill work.
Yeah.
A little power sleigh.
Just right.
Bradford.
Relo.
Bump.
Furn.
Five days.
Brent Burns is 41 and a U.S.A.
Has he played his last interview?
I think he wants to come back.
He's 60-some games from the Iron Man streak.
I think he's doing everything in his power to set the new Iron Man ever.
He's very Joe Thornton, where he loves hockey.
Yeah.
And people pay him to do it.
And he don't.
They pay him to do it, but I don't think he's out for.
I need it all.
I think he's got it set up.
He's got somebody that he can trust to feed all his snakes and reptiles.
He's got this backpack and stuff.
So he doesn't need to hang out at home.
Oh, yeah, he's well-coming.
Yeah.
It's got zookeeper wife, kids.
He's got an all certain.
Connor Zeri was taken 24th overall in 2020.
He'll be 25 prior to this coming season.
Two years left at 3.3.
775 million.
How does the Zeri story
and in Calgary?
How many years left?
He has two years left.
He's got one more year to prove himself
or he's gone.
I think the trade of the son.
Too many wingers.
Like right now?
The son.
I think you, well, I mean, at that
number with the...
You got to cut bait then. You're not getting anything
to return. I think you package him with a second and see if you can't
either move up in the draft or get a son.
Just to do it.
I think...
I was really...
At this number, it's not a problem.
I was...
Here's where I have trouble.
Because last summer I'm like,
this is the guy.
This guy is query.
Blah, bra, bra, bra.
You're just glad the team didn't give him
the six years, six or seven
or whatever he wanted to grow.
I was yelling for it.
But I'm the best.
I hope it as well,
but I don't think it will
because any time they get close to full health,
He keeps sending up on the fourth line.
I think it changes scenery.
It would be great for this guy.
It's not great for the flames, though.
This is another first rounder.
We had high hopes.
Come on, you've been too long.
This guy's the only creative guy they have.
There's something in there, and other GMs see it,
and they're like, who can unlock this?
Where's the right place?
Can we get them with the right kind of centerman?
You can't really say he's played with a good center in his career
because he's been here.
Sometimes he thinks he's the center.
He ain't.
It's not a word.
I think it's in the dictionary now.
Hey, and he didn't.
If you could take him in a second and move up into the first round for a team that's like, hey, we need a player now and out of pick.
Would you do that?
Put on your champion.
Work at all because the flames have like seven GMs.
So why don't we all pretend?
So you're going to be Pascoe and you can be.
A Dumbolone.
Oh, no.
Okay.
I'll be very sure.
I'm shaking your head.
You're Craig.
I looked at my Rebiggle shirt today.
I'll tell you what.
They would spend a lot of time talking about this.
Why don't you guys go get a drink?
Why don't you guys go get a drink?
Here's the question for you.
If it took Zary in one of your five seconds
to get Shane Wright, would you do it?
That's the type of deal I think you're going to see Zari.
I don't know.
It's just Sarat, Cesarian.
I'm not in.
Yeah, but we're giving out.
up on Zari?
Like, you feel like,
you'd rather have Zerry than Shane Wright.
You're just being poo-poohy.
No, if I'm going to do
a Zeri deal, it's not going to be for Shane Wright.
That's a center.
I don't care.
I don't think he's very good.
I don't think he's very good.
I think you'll be back and you'll be looking at other guys.
It's like, well, now we're.
Well, you can't say.
That's kind of where I'm out of Jerry.
Okay, then find a better deal.
He's younger and he's a center.
That's why I would do it.
All right.
You don't feel like that.
You have to put on your other GM have been.
Now you're Bill Garin.
I think.
Bauder Zeri's available.
What are you giving up?
Ah, I don't have room for.
No.
Okay, well, I think you get the point.
No, I, I'm not, I'm asking.
You don't have to get mad.
You're saying no to right, and that's fine.
But I think you're putting too much value for Zeri.
No, it's more about right.
I just think right gets here and then you're like,
geez, now we're paying this.
You're going to just have the same thing.
Yeah, I don't think he's going to be expensive.
I think he's a 3C and you need that.
You've got no centers for the next five years.
You've got old backland, old street.
and Frost wants to get a max term deal this next summer, I'm not doing that.
I mean, it could be two questions.
Can that count for, do you want to share rights?
And what do you do with Siri?
Yeah, that's.
Is there 12 goals this year?
12.
Yeah, I'm not doing cartwheels in my bikini on 34th Ave if we get right.
I wish you would.
Would you?
Can we make that?
If Conroy trades makes a jack in a jack-in?
Sure.
You two in bikinis doing.
What are you doing?
Cartwheels.
I don't know if we can pull that off.
What's a cartwheel and what's the other one?
You don't want a somersoll.
I'll do a Sunnersol.
I did not a single.
Sunersault is what you did in the plane with no gear on.
Somersault, there's going to be a lot of poop.
I could do the cartwheel.
You can't do a cartwheel.
You can do a cart.
Let's go.
Oh, for sure.
I mean, there'd be bent knees and it would be ugly, but he could do it.
Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, this is one of those, how does the story?
I don't know that I fear he goes somewhere and lights it up.
I don't know that he stays here and it turns around.
I had higher homes.
I do not.
I don't, I'm with you.
I don't feel that he stays here and it turns around.
Yeah, no one answered.
Various reasons.
No one answered 30 goals in the extension when you asked how this is game.
And that's telling you think.
Part of it is two years ago, you would have guessed that.
But part of it is what you said.
Who the f is he playing with?
Yeah.
Maybe if he finds somebody to play with these.
What about McTavich?
Yeah, Mason.
Can we go get him?
I'd love to go get him.
Zeri and a little seconds,
go do it.
I don't know.
They want to do it.
They don't know.
Well, they're arguing with them.
It's weird.
Oh, yeah, but I don't know that Zary and draft picks.
It moves the needle.
Yeah, I'd have to depend on what drop picks and where, yeah.
What did you give Zary and your second first overall?
Or second first?
Yep.
I would too.
You just don't have young sense.
Gridden hasn't had much to play with him.
He's up a whole lot better than him.
That's kind of the concern with Zeri is that guys are passing them.
The only...
Right, Coronado's already passed him.
What's the word?
Now Brickristen's passing him.
Cops.
Does the Cave?
Ask Pinder.
Ask Pinder's in-laws.
They'll tell you.
See, next two, is like...
Javierat.
Okay.
It's his injuries.
The availability does not help the stock either.
His injuries, I'm like, are you any good?
I don't know.
You're hurt.
Again.
There were...
74 this year, but that's last year was in just...
It was still, it felt like it...
There was...
Two years ago, it's like, this guy's a rat.
He's got some skill.
He's got the puck on his stick.
vision.
And then you watch him.
It's like he's been broken a little bit, maybe by the injuries,
that he's not as confident.
He's not in a part for sure.
You want my hot take?
Yeah, I do.
Get his ass out of here.
Oh, baby.
You know why?
Because I forgot.
You ever show up your teammates like you did this year?
Kiss mine.
What did he?
You're gone.
Don't you remember he did the.
I'm sure I had a hot take.
You did.
I'm trying to remember the game and what happened.
Yeah.
Like there was, he did.
He wanted a pass.
Flip, yes, yes.
Didn't get a pass from his teammate.
He was open.
He made a scene and I'm like,
Who the, are you?
I see that a lot in U-11.
I don't know if it's a generational thing.
That's a shitty coach.
He benched so the bastards.
You-11.
There's the games played.
63, 54, 74.
Is he a teammate of Stanky?
Yeah, it would have been, right?
Camel.
Send him there.
That, you know what?
They're not even joking.
That'd be a play.
that would be a place he might be able
to have some of them.
It's weird of some of them.
Sasker. I mean, keep him.
He's a Sasker. There you go.
Yeah.
Just come back and forth.
Extension, trade him. Sasker, keep them.
No extension.
He's really done F all.
Dudes, it feels like Sam Bennett.
Like that first, it was really like,
that's what goes through my mind.
But Bennett was a higher first rounder.
Yeah. It's diet, Sam.
Ben. It's not, the expectation wasn't as high. The ceiling isn't as high, but you, you get a
glimmer early. You think it's going to be a core piece. And then you watch him struggle to impact
the game at all and continue to fall down on the depth chart because he's not out playing guys.
Does he, it's the same as we talk about in Carol. It's all fresh in our mind.
Got that dog in him. You have Stankov in him. Jackson Blake.
Does Zeri have that DNA in him?
Not a, not here.
much as those guys. I think he's
got some gold. There's some mustard
there, but sometimes it takes leaving to
embrace that. I didn't think Sam embrace that
until he left in a way. Why does it
have to... Can the flames not
change instead of the
player going to a difference? I think it's just expectations.
At some point, you've got to be tired of, well, we got to
move them because it's not going to happen here.
Well, shit. I'll tell you,
it's these... Oscar's a good
coach. But sometimes you just get
lumped into a spot. Yeah.
with a coach and there's F all you can do to break out.
And I'll say this, they have so many bleeping wingers guys.
Like there are teams that could use Conner's area in their top nine.
Here it's, you guys.
If Faribis and the Colons and the grid.
If Connie is not in the McTavish sweepstakes, then,
no, sorry.
I'm going to have to call your wife, Connie and tell you to get two.
And D's not going to like it, but they've got to be in the Shane right business too.
If you can find centers under 25, you have to take kicks in the tire.
It's not going to get expensive.
You need centers.
Come on Pop this, man.
This is kind of a two partner.
Do you believe Rasmus Anderson and Vegas have a contract extension in the drawer?
And also, where is this drawer and what else might be in it?
Because we hear of this a lot, there's an extension in the drawer.
I'm just wondering what else might be in there.
Not a torts extension.
So is there a contract in the drawer?
I'll say yes.
Yes.
What else is in the drawer, right?
Ryan Craig.
Ryan Craig's coaching.
He'll pull him out of the drawer.
I think they got nudes of Bruce Cassidy, blackmail.
We're pastures.
Newlets.
I thought it all blackmail.
What else would be in Kelly McCormick's door?
You would have the insight on that.
I would.
Oh, Jesus.
The Brandonium.
Maybe a little flask of CC?
Well, yeah, what's his drink?
I don't know.
It's a long time ago.
Cold cuts?
It's a long time ago.
Would he like the cold cut midnight meal?
Yes.
Yeah.
Red neck.
Charcudery?
Yeah.
Or is he young fans?
He's just some big.
Yeah, he's got pepperoni in that drawer for sure.
There's a redneck charkutery board in that drawer.
Yeah.
He used to have a sportsman's dinner, the weaking sportsman's dinner.
It's always good.
Good meats.
Always.
Always.
I've always found salami the most central of the cured meats.
Do the San Jose sharks make the playoffs next season?
Yes.
A lot of head nods.
So if so, what happens sooner?
After that, they miss the playoffs again, or they win or make a Stanley Cup fine?
Win or make this down?
100%.
I don't think.
Mac, to me, you brought up his name in these questions just earlier.
Macklin-Colabrini is a Jonathan Taves to me.
He's a will-to-win guy.
And Taves is like, it's almost selling him short on the skill.
I don't know if you ever thought it was going to get 50 goals, 100 points.
feel like Mac is going to do that every bloody year.
You know what, 120 this year?
It's crazy.
And I'm kind of leading the witness there
because I kind of feel the same way.
Which is, because you don't necessarily
think about it that way. I'm sure they do.
Like, okay, well, you haven't been in the playoffs
for a long time. Well, I think you're going to
make it next year. And then
I don't think you're going anywhere for a while.
And it's not like it's just him and nobody.
They've got so many good young kids.
And they pick two this year.
They get another stud or they turn that
into another core piece if they want to move that.
Exactly.
We saw Anaheim in the playoffs.
We saw O'Nehem and the playoffs.
Look out.
Those two teams for the next decade.
Now, most of these, the last question coming up,
most of these are kind of opinion-based.
Oh, I don't have one, but Pinder won't shut out.
This one here, we could probably get an answer on.
There's probably a yes or a no.
Did Rod Brindamore get in a workout yesterday?
Oh, yeah, he's sweating.
Did he get one in?
It's a lifestyle, dude.
Wow.
It wouldn't feel good without it.
It'd be sick to his stomach without it.
I told you how tired I am because I went for a walk with my dog.
I nearly croaked.
Yeah.
I just think with everything going on in Rod's world right now, he worked.
If he's still pressing the pause button to go and do some.
It's not buys and tries.
That's not pause.
That's me waking up.
Not me.
That's him waking up like, I got to get my day started.
Oh, yeah, we're calves today.
Yes.
He might have two yesterday.
Because he had drinks the day before.
I love those.
Obviously, they're showing up now because they're so in the news and everything.
But the pregame stuff with Rod, he comes just, okay, okay, boys, showtime.
Okay, here we go.
Yeah, all right, here.
Jesus Christ.
He could probably throw some gravy in that diet to calm so down.
What?
I took gravy out of the freezer.
I don't know what it'll be like, it's more of an au jus, but it's a thicker than an
ozhou.
What do you make it?
They're going to make some pork tenderloins and some roasted potatoes.
I thought it was going to be a little bit cooler and.
That's great.
Can we get some boomers buns delivered to?
If you dropped off buns, Dean, we'd be friends again.
Not really bun weather.
Don't.
He's got gravy.
It's always bun weather there's gravy.
Yeah, I don't need you eating them.
You can just bring them over.
Just bring them over.
It's perfect bun weather for me.
It would be very hard to walk into the house with the smell of buns in the air and then no buns are around.
We'll keep a couple of them.
It's difficult.
Bontan meats.
Speaking of it.
Speaking of which,
maybe I could do a bun business with Greg.
Oh, you could.
Bontan meat market.
Bumer's buns.
I can see the calendar already.
Quality products.
The best service.
We're talking over 105,
106 years running
the best.
Only the finest premium AAA
Alberta beef, locally raised fresh pork.
Fresh, free-range chicken, turkey, Alberta lamb, milk-fed veal,
over 20 varieties of in-store salads, desserts, the meat pies.
They're pumping them out.
Maybe doesn't need buns because you've got the meat pies.
It's not the same, but proud to be Calgary and Southern Alberta's
Consumers Choice Award winner for Best Meat in Deli for years and years in a row.
105 years old.
Bontan Meat Market, 28 Crowfoot Circle in the Northwest.
Yeah, we just need a little area in the corner there.
Yeah, boom response.
Just give me a little oven,
little bun oven.
No, no, you do it at home.
You take them and you drop them off.
I'm going to want that smell in there, though.
It's how you sell it wouldn't hurt.
Tell you sell it hurts.
I'll talk to Greg.
Promotional.
Oh, I'm curious, Greg, he's a big torts guy.
Didn't like Vegas, but did like torts.
Now torts is out of work.
I wonder how he feels.
Oh, he's going to be all torn up if he signs in Edmonton.
I don't want it to happen now just because I worry it for Greg's heart.
Can't handle that kind of guess.
I just, I don't see him going to Edmonton.
I mean, to be fair, they are well down the path with Babs to just sort of say,
hey, good luck with your investigation.
See ya.
If they hadn't been so stupid that started this path, then would your opinion change?
Yeah, I don't think he would go.
I don't know why.
Maybe part of his coming back to Canada.
It did go very poorly in Vancouver for people that don't remember.
Different scenarios, right?
But it went so poorly and some of it of his own doing.
It was his worst stint in the NHL by O'Malley sent,
He sent a five-year deal and was gunned after one.
He got cocky in Vancouver.
He really did.
He just realized that.
He benched Luongo for that outdoor game in the BC place.
He asked for the trade.
It was a disaster.
He was a disaster.
It was his worst work.
It was his worst work.
The Hartley thing was amazing.
Yeah, it really was.
Yeah.
And I think he's older now as we age.
But I don't, I don't think this cup run did anything to harm his confidence.
God, no.
Right?
It's,
I just wonder about
the next gig
that's going to come up
for a guy like that
where you've got superstars.
Maybe it's Colorado in a year,
but I'm sure that Bednar's working in an extension.
I get it.
We're too close to it.
But you've got the stars,
but we sit here and we watch it all.
There's dysfunction up there from ownership.
I just don't know that he would look at it and say,
I can put up with everything else,
guys meddling in my shit and all of this else,
just to be with McDavid and Drys.
I don't.
know. I don't know.
I agree. I think that's the biggest detriment
because I think he could handle the market. I think the media
would be a pain, but he could deal with it.
You've got the roster with enough people
you think you could be an answer.
But what about the owner and the GM and the president
and that fucking shit show? Yeah, that's the, I don't
think he gets the biggest detriment of the order.
And they'll tell you, no, we're going to
stay out of your shit. You're going to have, you
can do, you do it, you do. But you'll call
Jay Woodcroft. You know it's, you know
that it's not how it's. He'll phone Wayne
and Wayne would give them the goods. You'll call the
Beaver, you'll call Knobber, you'll call Hitchcock,
you call McClin and say, how was it there? How was working
for that client organization? I don't trust that they're after
them. They should be, but I don't
trust that they are.
I'd be happy if they ended up with Babs,
not Toritz, because I think the better coach
is Torres. Yeah.
There's a lot more egg to get on your face if they've got
Bubs. Yeah, I'm down with that. Max Payne.
Yeah, I,
I don't know what. Why do we wish poorly for people?
That's not the way to be. Because they're arrogant to see you next Tuesdays.
I think a lot of people like it.
Yeah, I'm okay of it.
Yeah.
Time for a message from Airbnb.
Well, it's getting closer.
FIFA World Cup 2026.
Everybody getting together.
You can feel the energy.
People are pumped up.
The bars, everybody is going to be jacked.
And it's coming to Canada.
I'm excited to see footy fans take over Vancouver and Toronto.
And I'm super pumped to see Canadians embrace our team at FIFA World Cup 2026.
I know I'll be one of those people.
crowded around the screens at restaurants and bars cheering on the matches this summer.
I love that vibe.
You'll, when the windows are open and you're cheering and you can hear your neighbors cheering
and everybody's kind of rooting for the same, you know, the same team, that same cause.
It's hard to beat.
I can remember watching Portugal and Italy play on College Street in Toronto.
Incredible fans, delis, cafes, jerseys, France ends up winning the tournament.
They're celebrating porn out of a French restaurant.
cars are honking, flags are waving, nothing beats the fandom.
I know a lot of people are going to the games.
Airbnb, no better way to do it.
You get everybody together, you get a nice spot,
everybody comes together to watch the games when it's game time,
food going in the kitchen, kids are running around,
cheering, running out into the streets.
It's getting closer. I'm pumped for it.
I totally agree.
Certainly, really exciting months coming this summer.
I can't wait.
Airbnb, the world is meant to meet.
It is time for the Pinda report.
Our great friends at Village Honda
presenting Sid Pinder Report.
Look at that Father's Day thing on lockdown.
We're telling about that.
Little VIP detailing kit, $22 bucks plus tax.
Help Dad keep his vehicle looking at its best.

We start with the news the day,
John Tortorella.
not coming back to Vegas.
We've beaten the horse a fair amount.
Still, though, a bit of surprise.
First, it was the word from the cup finally.
Well, maybe it isn't such a slam dunk.
Maybe it's this guy they've been grooming for nine years to be the next head coach.
What's next for torts?
We'll see.
But I can't help but think his stock is way up from where it was when he took over with,
what, eight games left in the regular season?
Maybe he's got some bad gambling debts on the street.
Oh, dear. I'd love to come back, but I got to get the hell out.
of town. They're on to me, boys.
Tony's looking for me.
Damn crap's table.
Sad news
in the flames sphere
as long time owner
Alvin Libbon passed away
yesterday.
1931 to
26, an incredible run.
The mayor, numerous
Calgarians noting his incredible legacy
and impact on the city.
A lover of sport and a lover of this city
and what Calgary can be for
people. More on our website. The Flames released a statement as well. That's a hell of a run.
Ryan Pike has more on the passing of 95-year-old Alvin-Libbon at Flames Nation.C.
Another sad bit of news today. Kyle Calder has passed away, 47 years of age. He and Al Burton spent
some time around the NHL, shocking, sad news today, announced by the NHL alumni.
watched and covered him as a Regina Pat.
I was going to say, I think it was Regina.
Yeah.
A little younger than you, Rhett.
He would have missed him a bit in June.
In Saskatchewan, Newman in the summers.
No, um, actually when we were in Buffalo, lots, uh, he was coached kids hockey and ran into him lots around the rink.
Trade in the NHL today, believe it or not, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Toronto Maple Leafs got together to do some things.
What they are, we're trying to figure out.
Joseph Wall was one of three.
nap-minders, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to have to deal with that all needed waivers this fall.
He's now a member of the Philadelphia Flyers with Simone Benoit, a physical third-payer defenseman for the Leafs.
Samuel Erson, who had a miserable couple of years in net for the Flyers, goes the other way.
Emil Andre, who's a diminutive, plucky defenseman and a third-round pick going to the Leafs.
I don't know that they qualify Erson.
They already have Stolars and Hilda B.
in the system.
And we'll see what Emil Andre is.
Emerging is potentially
an NHL defenseman,
sort of depth at this point.
All Dan the man is pissed.
I think Dan,
man might be happy.
He's going to backup.
He can trust more than the last guy.
Maybe.
I don't think this is a threat for Dan the man.
I think Dan the man's getting a contract extension too.
Seems like you're close on a five.
Until he's done.
He's like, oh, they're trying to.
This is why they sign that contract, Dan,
or we'll bring in another guy.
Just took a year off your contract,
and I got another goal here.
Must be mid-June because all the hockey writers
are writing about one thing today.
Offer Sheets.
There's Matt Lark in a Daily Faceoff,
nine candidates.
Over at The Athletic,
leave another article.
There's Shana Goldman, six realistic candidates.
Now, here's the thing about offer sheets.
Almost never happened.
But they sound really cool.
And it worked really well the last time we saw them.
Here's the last decade.
There's only been four.
two of them in concert.
The Broberg Holloway
dynasty crushing St. Louis
offer sheet. Good work, Jeff Jackson.
You're definitely a really good president
slash GM.
Yaspari Kucanemi did not work as well.
Still paying him that money.
That was the one year and then he went back.
And Sebastian Ajo was matched. That was an easy one for Carolina.
So who won that argument there
between Carolina and Montreal?
Oh, Carolina.
It's a bit of a piece.
No, because they got cut.
Pay and Kukki Nemi, there's still lots of term.
But they also got, but they were trying to get Aho signed.
Ajo was a favor.
That was the easiest match of all time.
Bergevan put it on a planet.
So they did not need to go and do the Kotkinemi,
but it got the Ajo signed,
which they were struggling to do at the time.
But yeah,
and no doubt the St.
Louis ones are slam dunks.
Both those guys will be renewed at double triple 4X,
what they're making on those deals in some instances.
Yeah, Holloway was a,
Almost a point per game,
centerman after leaving the first year after under Jim Montgomery.
And Broberg's...
The Broberg was no good.
No, he's pretty good.
He's a clear top four.
They didn't want to pay him four million bucks, I guess.
But I guess when you got Jake Wallman extending it,
seven plus, you got to do what you got to do.
Here's some of the candidates that came up in both articles.
Cole Perfetti in Winnipeg,
Pavel Minchikov and Olin Zellwiger in Anaheim.
Again, defenseman, a bit of...
Who's a...
Aaron Zellwiger.
There was an actress.
Was that he heard of?
That was Renee Zellwinger.
You had me at hello.
No, there's a,
I know who had me at hello.
Yeah.
There's another.
There may well be.
Other candidates' names that we're hearing,
Peyton Krebs and Buffalo,
Zach Bolduk and Montreal,
who came over in that deal for
what was St. Louis earlier in the season.
Pavel D'Orfea's name is one of the biggest ones out there,
given he just flurred with 40 goals.
and is just coming out of entry level.
Mackie Samiskevich is a name that's not super well known,
but a guy that's got a lot of ceiling in Florida
where they're obviously pretty tight to the cap.
Maverick Bork's going to get a lot of attention
in the offer sheet world because of the Dallas stars
and the little amount of cap space they have given.
They've got a sign of Jason Robertson,
Brad Clark in L.A., Jack Drury in Colorado.
There's a lot of names out there.
Just name everybody.
That's about 10 names, but here's the problem.
Flamesstrand's going to say,
Yeah, yeah, options.
Use those picks for offshoots.
You know what you can't be doing?
Tying any of your future first rounders to anything.
You're going to want to be picking with those because they might be really high.
Imagine you offer sheet someone this summer and you give away next year's first.
And you're like, look at this.
We got this guy.
He's a really good number two center.
Look how smart we are.
And then you end up having that pick be a top one, two, three pick in this league.
I don't think the flames are in a really good spot for an offer sheet unless it's a fringy type guy because you can't be
putting your firsts in these things.
And you have to get them done.
Agreed.
Sadly. I didn't know that was a hot
take, but. No, I just think,
oh, these, they're bad. They've got caps.
space. Go off for she's, well, it's more complicated.
Well, so you.
I agree with you. The fans
want players back, but
shut up. Craig will do it.
Leave Craig alone, guys.
It's really busy.
Really busy.
It's interesting news in the
media. Sports Broadcasting
universe in this country as Hockey Night in Canada will no longer be what it's been since
1952.
Sportsnet has had the national television.
Sorry, I was rebooting.
That's okay.
They will move the property off CBC, which they essentially leased for the last 12-year
NHL deal.
The new rights deal kicks in next season.
You will not find NHL hockey Saturday nights on CBC, which for the first time since the
1950s, it will be a lot.
This is tough for people.
The hard-
This whole CFL thing that came down.
They're going to have to get the zone.
Now CBC's not going to have hockey night.
Well, they've got all kinds of other shows on CBC Dean that you can take in.
There's some real quality stuff out there.
Okay.
You got any suggestions?
I don't want to lead the witness.
I have seen all of Schitts Creek.
I like Shick Creek, yeah.
Big fan of Shits Creek.
You like corner gas?
It was not as much.
No.
The fat guy was like,
you know what?
we should just send them more money and they'll come up along the shows will get better
do you know what it is though weird weird what I smell opportunity for us
they got a little window on a Saturday night that's up and now we can do a little
kind of arts and crafts deal cooking shows some bars buns
mugs workout routines hell yeah before going out on Saturdays
pender splits the GEDD i heard us on the show perfect Saturday night show let's do it
Let's move for the Calgary Stia.
Oh, here it is.
1952.53.
Oh, only Pike knows this.
Thanks, Pike.
Why do you hate Pike?
I love Pike.
Pop to Smurphy's being to Pike, isn't he?
Stupid stuff on this Twitter or Pike.
Stampeters in action this weekend.
It's the Battle of the Prairies, Rhett.
When are you going to start mooching tickets here?
Use it.
I'm gone.
Because it's Saturday.
I don't know why they plan these things when I got to be away.
Well, there'll be other people there.
And it is the DERS, the defending champs after a win
in week two.
One and O.
Both teams play just one game.
Stamps likely a little healthier.
Do you know they had some guys close but said,
eh, we got to buy week two, maybe Floor Malade,
maybe, maybe we'll give these guys a little more time.
They could use a little help on that pass rush.
I'll tell you that after week one.
You go 02 though.
Can't do that.
It's going to take at least a couple games
before you can get back to 500.
At least a couple of times.
Close to coin toss.
We'll show the odds as we get close.
served to game day later in the week.
Convery, Serge, check this out.
You like, uh, you like Star Wars jerseys?
Darth Mall, Surge jerseys?
Look at the eyes.
These are tough looking.
Stabby.
I would, uh, if I'm the Brandon Honey Badgers, I'd be a little nervous as if Darth
mall's coming to the rim.
Where are they?
Look out.
Listen, the honey badgers are not scared of anything.
They're from Brampton.
I don't know.
That's great.
What did I say?
Brandon.
Did.
I'm sorry.
That's close.
Kelly McCriman's honey badges.
Brantford, Brandon,
whether they're.
I know, yeah.
Uh-oh.
I'm going to be in trouble.
Barcelona.
I don't know where they're from.
June 17th.
That's coming up.
That's tomorrow night at Win Sports.
Some good crowds.
Coach, now New Jersey's.
Let's go.
Good you piss off.
I'm giggling because my assistant coach,
Jr.
Just sent me a video of a guy pulling a boat
that had ran out of gas.
and on one occasion, perhaps we'd have stayed up all night,
and we ran out of gas.
Ran out of the gas on the boat too.
What were you doing on the boat all night?
Fishing at stars.
Stargazing.
Definitely not drinking naked.
Wouldn't do.
I want to say a big thank you to the Rogers Charity Classic,
Chris Dornan, setting up yesterday's event,
Canyon Meadows.
It is later this.
summer, some of the best golfers in the world.
We come into Canyon Meadows.
Team Grey Hat. Look at that.
Team Grey Hat. Team Grey Hat.
Victorious, we beat the old Navy hats.
Suck on that one, Maddie Rose.
Lots of sports media folks are there.
I got paired with Tom Reynolds. You know Tom?
Look at this.
No, okay.
Dorks. Anyway, lots of dorks. We won.
You won.
Walk us through who your golf. Who are these folks, Ryan?
And you're winning.
Hey, Ryan.
You're a big fan of all.
There's Doug Dirk's CBC,
a blue shirt today.
And then a bunch of other media people.
Boy, it's turned over quickly.
Okay, let's move.
Costco,
Dean,
you love Costco.
I was talking about Costco today.
I want to go.
You want to go?
I got to go.
Which one?
Whatever you want.
Oh, really?
The one's way too busy.
Can I accessorize your trip?
Is that one busy now?
Yes.
I sent my wife there one time and she's like never,
ever told me to go to get her.
It's got to be empty.
No, Ram.
Go to Hokotoketoc.
Ramrod.
Here's the move
when you guys
go on
your double date
to Costco
today.
Let's do it.
Get your dog.
Craig?
Holder.
Honestly,
Father's Day
coming out,
putting out the vibe.
That's some
serious dadding.
And finally,
you put a lot of effort
in.
Like,
what does this guy do
for a living?
He makes bad
memes, I'm thinking.
That is,
I mean,
there's these two moves.
What he's doing.
which is you grab the food first.
You grab the food first.
Yeah.
Or you grab it on the way out.
Or you just go for the front.
Or both.
Oh, yeah.
See all the above.
Yeah.
That's a trick question, dude.
I don't need to travel mug or holder and stuff because it's not going to last.
No.
It's true.
If you got a two banger, that would be good for the second.
So hungry.
Yeah.
I think we have to show all food clips on Tuesdays now, knowing Rett fasts on Monday.
So we're down with that.
Oh, I took pills too.
Finally, I didn't see this one at the old Corvette show and shine the other day, but an interesting set of wheels here.
Weird that guy's not wearing a shirt.
This is really dumb.
Street legal.
Apparently.
Don't think so.
Not sure.
The old T-Rexmobile.
One of the guys from Duck Dynasty driving.
See ya.

you say.
I knocked over a light post on me.
What year is this?
It's a number of years.
We're calling the authorities.
Yeah.
It's a license plate on this.
It's a number of years.
I was the,
when you mentioned Father's Day and I was thinking,
okay,
Viener Nova,
because we always talk about Valentine's Day,
Mother's Day,
Christmas,
this sort of thing.
Why have we never throwing it out there?
Go buy me a diamond.
I can use some dad bling.
Let's go.
I like nice things.
A problem is if I have bling,
then I'm going to be attractive to,
oh,
it's going to be a dog.
Yeah, that's why.
You get the honey on them, all the flies start circling.
Diamonds are your best friend, they say.
It's Calgary's lab grown diamond specialists.
And yeah, why not for dad?
Yeah.
Some guys, you would have had pierced ears back in the day.
No, my dad beat my brother up because you got a pierced.
Oh, no.
That's a chance of a joke.
What are you thinking of piercing belly button?
No, I'm not piercing.
Oh, okay.
I thought diamond.
Who said?
Hello.
I saw that at a bar.
Boko Raton when I first started.
What were your first thoughts?
I don't think it's old.
Not for me.
The Venanova Showroom has the largest selection of lab-grown diamonds in Canada.
Its earrings, its engagement rings, necklaces, bracelets,
maybe something for Father's Day.
Lab-grown diamond has the same chemical composition and crystal structure,
same hardness, light refraction.
What we're telling you is it's the same.
in some cases of better quality than the ones they're digging out of the ground.
And anywhere between 50 and 70% less expensive than the earth mine
because the technology has become so efficient, thus more affordable.
Who says there's no deals out there?
Go get some diamonds.
Market Mall is where the showroom is located, of course.
VenaNova.com is the website.
Maybe you want to do a special piece, craft it yourself.
The woman that I live with, she did that, we did that.
that she did that um she she loved it turned out better than she could have uh she was blown
away with how how great it was i too was blown away that's good for you as much as it is father's
day this weekend i think probably the right approach for some people in here who drop the ball
a month ago yeah yeah is to head on down to market mall it's never too late to read or wrong you
you talked about it yesterday that perhaps you could either do mcclough law
That's right.
That's why.
Or Vena Nova.
I know which ones.
There's a fork in the road.
Yeah.
We've got you covered.
Are we mending fences or dig it a ditch?
That's right.
Vena Nova.com is the website to go and check that out.
That's how that works.
So you were wasted yesterday.
You're going to be wasted on Thursday.
You're going to be wasted on Friday.
Boy, oh boy.
I was wasted yesterday.
Well, you looked for a part girl on that track.
What?

you were you were there for eight hours seven you were there for eight hours seven
probably.
Really?
Yeah.
That's a shift.
Seven and a half,
seven,
yeah.
Probably five hour round.
He doesn't want to admit it
because he didn't go home after.
It was there for three.
He was there for,
and I hit the,
yeah,
he played three holes.
Yeah,
it was the par three tournament
and I was out of it.
But that's Ryan with charity.
You know?
Give, give,
give.
It's all I can do.
First one in,
last one out.
He's there to give.
Philo,

All right,
let's start with the soccer.
You can see what happened yesterday?
Oh,
it's oleoleo,
just a Montreal thing or is it a sock?
Maybe both.
They were doing that at the Spurs games.
So here's a, guess what happened yesterday
in four games of the World Cup?
Draw.
Nine corner kicks.
Draw.
Draw.
All of them yesterday?
Every single game.
Why?
Including the top seeded team of the tournament,
Spain against a Mino Nation
that had no business even being in the tournament.
Money, it ain't happy.
So you know what everyone's going to think is going to happen today?
Draw, draw, draw, draw.
You know what's actually going to happen today?
I don't know.
You're going to tell me.
Favorites are going to win.
France is way better than Senegal.
Norway, top 10 team in the world.
They've got Iraq.
Argentina's got Algeria.
They got A to start the country.
That's what the similarities in.
Defending champs, Leo Messi.
Can we wrap this up?
Here's a snowstorm.
And Austria has Jordan.
If all the favorites win, you parlay those together, plus 243.
Snowstorm?
Dylan Caesar.
Oh, sorry.
And Delon Cises on the bump for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Is there in Boston to face the Red Sox,
who've had a miserable season.
He has hit eight strikeouts with great regularity, plus 120.
He eclipses that mark to me or hits it.
Severe Thunderstorm.
Yes, it's going to be major.
Last word.
Those are my bets.
How do you say the Argentinians name?
The M.
Messi, messy.
Messy.
Okay.
Well, I got him scored today.
Jack, how many corners?
In that corner, Jack.
Let's get her over under.
I've looked.
Oh.
Well, Jack, you'll be ready.
You'll be ready.
You'll be ready.
He'll be over, though.
Oh, I'm with you.
I ain't better.
I don't like betting for things.
I'm very corners.
That'd be all rare.
It's like pender with the beers.
You always always take over.
It's a fool.
It's under under's boring.
There you go.
Those are our bets.
They don't have to be yours.

You send us to Calgary.
We'll benefit from a modest, a little segment here today as we take a look.
Phil.
Phillip.
Boomer was the Blake Coleman season opener goal.
Also Skinner fail.
Still your favorite goal of the season.
That's a good one.
I don't remember.
Jog my memory.
Oh, that was the skin dog.
They were up down three nothing in the third.
We were at a watch party at the Cowboys Casino.
Yankees are playing the Blue Jays.
I might have been distracted on that one.
Roaring back and then Skindoggy misplayed one.
Was it a Gregsnet scored too where he spun in through it in front and went off of guys.
All of them were beautiful goals.
They were down three nothing and all three flames goals, really.
It wasn't the Rast of Sanerson in the playoffs, but it was Mike Smithy.
Was it the favorite?
Well, because I couldn't remember it.
I'd say no.
I don't know what my favorite goal of the season would be.
I got to watch the games.
I'll go back and watch the games.
Oh, geez.
And Phil, I'll check in with you tomorrow.
I'll check in with you tomorrow.
Actually, that's what we're going to do this and we're going to start playing post-game
show, the shows from the day after games from my film.
You are.
So excited.
Allie D-D. 699.
Mr. Retro heading to Buffalo for the first time ever next week.
Where do I want to eat?
There's a lot of options here.
It's a tough question.
Casual.
You've got to have Lenova.
Wings and pizza.
Delicious.
Elbow's wings.
are awesome.
Left bank, very good.
Left bank.
The chop house is just a
steakhouse. It's good, but it's fairly
If you come from here, you could get a steakhouse.
Boy, there was a couple and I forget their names
because they're kind of, they're not really in Buffalo.
Okay.
That's three good ones.
On the canal.
Now, if not a place, you've always.
Curtis Hotel has a really good rooftop bar and restaurant
in that hotel.
Stinger subs.
Is that something you got?
to do? Are you still high in the Stinger?
I love the Stinger.
Is that like a street meet after the bar or is that a place?
It's not a bad.
Well, Jim's steakout is on Chippewa, so if you're shit-faced, and you need some sustenance
before you go to sleep.
Jim's steakout.
Got it.
You're welcome, Allie D-D.D.
We think.
Chicken Parm subs, good.
There's Chris from Long Island.
Felix!
Did you know Brandon Bussie's a Long Island guy?
Bussie joins Rob Skidari as the second Long Islander to give his name on the cup.
have there only been two?
Just two?
It's got more than that, Chris.
I'm not buying it.
Well, how many's Coronado have?
He's been on there once it's going on.
Long Island, it's been around for a long time.
I think it's one of the.
Yeah.
It's in New York for Pete's sake.
But I feel like Chris being from Long Island himself.
I feel like you're inside.
I am not going to question Chris's trivial expertise on Long Islanders,
winning cups.
I'm also going to take it as an indicator that Chris has never won a Stanley Cup.
because he's from Long Island.
He'd be really humble to not name himself there.
Balsie joins Skidari as the third Long Islander.
I'm going to Google that when I get home.
Make sure he's not a little off.
I'm going to go the other way.
I'm going to say Chris knows.
Yeah, I think Chris.
Knows a shit.
What qualifies you to be a Long Islander, though?
Born?
I'm going to live there.
Because I was born and Sean of him.
I know.
never spent a night there.
Yeah. Sean.
Shut up, Jack.
And I know for Jordan Martinuk,
it's like, well, he was born and, you know, he's from Brandon.
He's born in Brandon, but I have it on good authority.
He is, likes to consider he's from Musum in Saskatchewan.
Oh, Moosemus.
Yeah.
Moose.
My girlfriend lived there once where his raisin happened.
Robin Regier.
I can tell you right now, he ain't Brazilian.
But he gets a Brazilian.

I told you about this yesterday and this is this is the week
it's November 1 November
that happens
The fall, no?
So only one time, only one month of the year, we pay attention to things we need to pay attention to.
It's a good movement by the Movember group.
Movember.com is the website.
And this is international men's health week.
Pleased to be joined by Evan Connor of Movember Canada.
Evan, how are you doing today, man?
I'm doing well.
Thank you.
Thanks so much for having me on this morning.
Well, I appreciate you coming on.
It is Father's Day coming up on the weekend.
And I know when we think Movember, we think fall.
I think of hockey players with incredibly strong follicular power on their upper lip.
But Movember is more than just one month.
And when we're talking about men's health, I suppose the week of Father's Day is a good time to gather around and discuss things.
You bet.
So this week in Canada is men's health week.
And it kind of wraps up with Father's Day on Sunday like you mentioned.
And our emphasis this week is really about putting a little bit more spotlight on the dads out there,
making sure they're getting the love and attention that they deserve and making sure when it comes to their physical and mental being that they're taking care of themselves.
Because the reality is, and I'm a dad myself, I've gone through this once, that a lot of love and attention deservedly so goes to the baby and the mom when you go through that journey.
but dads sometimes can be a bit of an afterthought,
and dads themselves maybe don't even look internally like,
hey, what do I need as they kind of navigate this new journey
that is incredibly rewarding,
but let's be honest, pretty exhausting and challenging at times as well.
Yeah, there's a transition from being a grown man
to becoming a caregiver.
You've got your own offspring to take care of,
and I suppose that can come with some mental health challenges.
that's one of the big focuses this week.
Exactly.
Yeah, when we look at dads across Canada right now,
about 10% of dads experience postpartum depression,
which again, even for myself,
I've worked in over for eight years.
And when I had my daughter a couple years ago,
I wasn't fully aware of those risks and some of those things.
I knew that the transition would be different,
not as easy to get up on a Saturday morning
and head it with the boys to play a round of 18 holes
like it used to be and find that.
escape even from the day-to-day grind, but it's, it is one of those things that we're doing our
best to, to make it more of a talking point to encourage dads to share when they're maybe
struggling with something, but also reinforcing with friends and family to take that extra
second. You're always going to check in on, on mom and the baby, but asking dads how they're
doing with that transition. And maybe it's just getting a buddy out. If you have a buddy that's a new
dad out for a little walk with little one just to chat, talk about life and be a bit of an outlet
for them if they are experiencing some challenges. Yeah, there's no prior experience. When you're
a first time dad, it's your first time being a dad. There's going to be some hiccups along the way
and a learning process to be sure. One of the things you guys are talking about in this spring
campaign around Father's Day is really encouraging involvement and engagement with dads,
which is to say make sure that we don't sort of like fall back into the shadows and,
you know, to stay active and be around your kids.
And I know for me that's one of the things that brings me the greatest joy is to
to watch my kids participate in things or do activities with my kids.
Yeah.
Embrace it.
It's one of those things.
It's the best job in your life you're ever going to have is soak in those moments,
especially in the world that now put the phones down and just develop that relationship.
It's something I never thought I'd be able to.
recite every song in the frozen soundtrack.
But here we are.
And it brings the greatest joy to my daughter when we're able to do that stuff together.
She's very much in that phase of when she's doing stuff, just like, Mama, Papa, watch
and wanting to get that attention.
And the reality is, like, showing up for them is the biggest thing.
They don't, kids don't really care about how your 9 to 5 went.
And the challenges that you experienced there, they want the best version of yourself and to be
present and it takes a concerted effort to do that and doing it as a team as well like acknowledging like
if you're fortunate enough to have a partner in your life making sure you're juggling that having that
healthy balance and for me i've gone from a pretty heavy sports guide to understanding that my daughter
may not be into all of these things and just embracing the things that she put whatever puts a
smile on her face puts a smile on on my face so that's definitely that's been a big learning for me
over the last couple of years is just realizing maybe she doesn't want to watch the
hockey game maybe she'd rather put something else on and that is okay it's opening up my mind
and worlds it's some very new things what's the number one banger from frozen is it let it go is
there anything bigger now sequel movies here i got to get up to speed i would say the there's one it's
called unknown and i'm i'm not singing it for anyone here but that one has taken over let it go
we've usually get really she's ready to she's moved past
let it go.
So that's a huge move in the power rankings for Frozen Songs.
That's good to know.
I'm glad you're engaged and involved with your daughter.
I know it's a great cause.
We think about fall with Movember,
but it's more than that.
It's about men's mental health.
If people are looking for more resources or just,
you know, maybe just an outlet to think about some of the things we've talked about
today, Movember.ca.
Is that the move?
Yeah, you can head on to Movember.ca.
And then I would just encourage everyone.
Like I know, like I shared, I've been working at Movember for
for eight years. I work with guys across Canada supporting their November campaigns and it's
like you touch on it. It's a topic of interest in the fall, but we don't need to keep it to 30 days.
Like use this week and the rest of the month to reach out to the guys in your life.
Like you can talk sports now that the cup's been handed over and everything like that.
You're going to need something in those group chats to keep things of buzz.
Like just ask the boys how they're doing.
Show them that you care.
Don't be afraid to just reinforce that you.
love them and with Father's Day on Sunday for those of us that are lucky enough to still
have dad in the life pick up the phone give them a call let them know you love them it doesn't hurt
it goes a long way and and yeah I just encourage everyone get informed and don't be shy about having
those conversations if you're someone that's struggling it's it's normal to go through tough
times it's a lot easier when you lean on your team just like when we think about being on the ice
when you're doing it together with your team it's it just makes the it much better and makes
those wins at the end of the day even more, even more fruitful.
Evan, thanks for time today.
I do appreciate it, Movember.ca for more.
Have a good one, buddy.
Thanks.
Take care.
