Hello, everyone. Welcome to Barnburner on your Wednesday. It is a, it's a glorious day to be a Wednesday.
Congrats to Wednesday for making it. You really did it. You're here. Nobody likes you Wednesday. You're here.
You're a bit of a see you next Tuesday, Wednesday. We don't really know what to think about you. You're kind of just there.
You're in the way. We're not super pumped to see you. We're not unhappy. The only thing good about Wednesday is the rhyme with the food.
It's not really a rhyme, but the phrase. What are you doing on Wednesday?
It's Taco Tuesday.
Yes. And then weaner wins.
French toast Friday.
Right.
Delicious.
This program, a presentation of Bet365.

Never.
answer.
Catch up to Jackson, you're giving her
without me. Yeah, you used centers of Calgary.
Raising money for the use centers of Calgary. The money
is actually yours, which we then transfer
to them by way of the YouTube chat.
There was a comment yesterday.
Somebody, they wanted some answers from Rett.
Oh, yeah, that's right. They said, hey, I need Rett to answer this.
Ret, I would just got some, got some
explaining to do.
Mm-hmm.
It's like, well, we can't really do it.
Yeah, couldn't do it.
Couldn't wait for you.
We said, no, we can't do that, Rhett.
Cannot answer that question, but do ring tomorrow.
Give us a call back tomorrow.
Welcome to the McLeod Law, LLP Studios.
Is it chilly in here, just outside?
Is the fall is in the air?
It's just crisp enough.
We're like,
boys, we're almost in November.
I want to sweat, you know?
Yeah.
How many Halloween's have you remember where you put your kids in,
like, jackets with costumes underneath?
Oh, it's, like, we've read,
there's been a very nice out of it.
The jacket thing is almost appealing.
It's when there's actual rain and,
slush and it really becomes an issue.
But there's one thing you could do instead of doing that.
Let's get your ass to Nashville.
Nashville.
There is that.
Yeah.
Or that.
Is there going to be sleet in Nashville?
No, sir.
Are you, 17 degrees?
It's going to be gorgeous.
You bring your minions get up?
No.
Oh, do you know.
That'd be so.
Such a hit on the strip.
Oh, yes.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No, not doing that.
Oh, for.
But I will be
Holfer
I will be
bringing myself
And a fistful of
U.S. 20s.
Yeah, I'm going to need some U.S. money.
Not cheap to buy right now
if you're a Canadian.
It's just better to use a card.
Yeah, you don't have to say,
because when you go to the bank
and say, could I get,
I'm going to get
500 American.
Okay, that'll be 90 billion Canadian.
Oh, no.
Ouch.
Shit.
If I only get $2.50.
Yep.
Still the same.
Elevety billion.
Oh.
So when you just put your card down, you know it's probably going to be a little pricey.
But you're not doing the conversion at that point.
No.
Typically you're at the point of, I don't give it down.
Yeah, you're really in the...
Let's go.
I'm a happy, fun guy.
You're in like one lap on Earth mode, which is recognizing that this is your one life.
Go have fun.
Yeah, that's why you go to the Jays or they go to the World Series.
I'm not worried about it now.
And chances are.
And chances are I'll probably never look at a credit card statement anyway.
It'll just be, ooh.
Here's a question.
So we get there Friday, right?
Yeah.
And the Js play Friday?
Game six.
Play game six.
So if there's a game seven, by what time do we begin the discussion of we're flying to Toronto more, right?
Because we'll be well into it.
Yeah.
Well, lubricated.
It will be brilliant.
There's no threat of Dean flying to Toronto, but you and I will be having that conversation.
Oh, he'll be in on the country.
We should go.
I'll be in the conversation.
Really?
Oh, he's all damned up.
I don't know.
I have a weird thing with you in the Jay's like, do you hate them?
I guess he hates it.
Just because you love the Yankees.
I don't really get it.
But the whole group will be, you know, Nashville versus Flames.
That's great.
Yeah.
This game's in.
We're drunk.
And there's flights.
When is a game seven?
If they're all at 608 local, which would be 708 Nashville time.
Day.
Saturday.
Day.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Yeah.
It's Friday, Saturday.
you're six and seven.
Yeah.
Okay.
Right?
Because that's happening.
They win Friday night.
As soon as that game's over,
you're,
well,
it depends what happens tonight.
If they went Friday night,
it could be over too.
We'll see what happens tonight.
Yeah,
your point is I will not be leaving Nashville to fly to Toronto for a moment.
No,
and I get it.
Like,
it's the World Series.
It's cool,
but like I would never want to fly to Yankee Stadium
to watch the team I hate the most play in a World Series.
That's kind of where I think you're at.
Yeah,
I don't hate the Blue Jays.
I'm a Yankee fan.
This is not the conversation that I was trying to have.
This was about us.
We're going to be smashed at Tootsies.
The Jays are going to win.
They're going to Game 7 in Toronto.
Let's go!
Because I did, there's a buddy Sean is coming on the trip.
He sends.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
By around, Sean, you cheap prick.
He's like, Game 6 Friday in Nashville, boys.
There's a couple.
God, I guess I never thought of that.
He did say, I just peed a little.
I don't know if I should have said that part.
The other, I think it's his brother, so awesome.
and I said, I won't lie to you boys.
I'll probably have other plans.
And I put a little honky-tonk emoji.
So good at that.
Meaning, you know, I'm probably going to be.
You busted his cover there with the P. Little.
Can we call him the tinkler for the trip?
Is that all right?
Tinkler, sure.
Yeah.
So I don't, I don't, can you get us Resos at that place with the
Recession Buster sandwich?
He brought this up.
Oh, Jesus.
You're not following.
You're really not.
You're out to lunch.
Yeah.
The TV is where the gate, yes.
That's not the recession buster.
That's not.
That is late.
Figure out your own baloney sandwich.
If you can't control.
It's like people ask, what are you doing in Vegas?
Will you?
Sit on your ass on the street.
Yeah.
It's great.
You know, they got Super Channel, really settle into your room.
Cheap movie rentals.
Follow along, Pinder.
I'm worried about you.
Ryan brought this up the other day,
and I just felt like going to Nashville on what this trip is going to be,
making reservations feels like
the only,
it's a bad idea.
It is a bad idea,
unless there's something specific
you really want to hit.
Correct.
And how do you include all the Sean Dusters,
the Tinklers?
The Tinklers.
Undertaking.
You kind of can't.
It is.
It is.
Hey, fellas,
have fun.
I'm going to head over here to the cool spot.
What typically happens,
because we'll be around 30, I think,
is that everyone will start,
and then you'll just see pockets
and factions.
and,
yeah, there will be some dispersion.
Yeah, for sure.
And that's just the booze in Broadway.
That's what it does.
Some guys won't care.
Right?
Some guys won't care about the ballgame.
Yeah.
It'll just be what it is.
Some guys love country music.
They're not moving at all.
I love this band.
Yeah.
That's kind of where I think I probably fall in.
I'll be,
I'll find a stool somewhere and a beverage and probably be like,
I like stools.
Let me know.
Let me know who wins.
You're one of those stools in the backs on it?
Those are good.
Don't bring us down, okay?
I'm not going to.
And don't be smug about it.
I'm not going to be, I'll try not to be smug.
You are very smug when it comes to the game.
Oh, are you guys?
Hey, how's the ball game?
I'll try to keep that to a, thanks.
The Dol Roar.
I'll try that.
I was just thinking as well,
is it going to be a big watch?
Nashville, Tennessee.
There's not a lot of Toronto.
The Dodgers are a big team.
Here's the thing about Broadway.
It's not filled with people that live in Nashville, right?
It's a lot of tourists.
Right.
And that's the same as the stripping.
Vegas, yada, yada, yada.
There will be a lot of Dodgers fans and Jay's fans that just happen to be in Nashville
because they booked a trip to Nashville, like us.
It's also, it is being overlooked by us.
It's Halloween.
It is Halloween.
I can't decide if that adds to the appeal or if I'm kind of almost, it's overwhelming.
It's already the Bachelorette Capital, live music capital, cheap booze, cat.
We're really piling.
We're stacking.
This is a perfect store.
too much.
Jack is dying.
I'm going to,
yeah.
It's too much.
Controlled emotions, Jack.
Did you have a living will,
Jack?
You're going into game seven.
You've got to have controlled emotions.
And I'm not talking to baseball game.
This is your game seven.
You're going to Nashville.
You're fresh off the bench.
Controlled emotions.
He was looking.
So we get to take one bag.
Okay.
So there's a bag.
I'm not waiting for idiots to get their bags.
from bag check.
The people that have not been on these trips before
will realize that Red has his own program
and that sometimes that'll overlap
with other people's programs,
but if he is asked to wait five minutes,
he's already gone.
Yeah, that will disappoint the people that were,
hey, we're going with the barber.
I didn't see Red all weekend.
But the thing is, you'll know where to find him.
It'll be posted up at Tootsie's five minutes after the line.
No, he's not hiding.
Not going to, yeah.
He's just being efficient.
There's a lot of people down in that little area.
I know.
Gosh, and that's Halloween.
Street meat will be.
roaring at night.
Nicole Berger's going to be yelling
Italian at some chick trying to speak
Spanish at the hot dog stand.
I'm not sure he'll be there.
That has happened in Nashville, but anyway,
um,
sports.
The cloud law,
LLP studio.
The cloud law,
we're going to need you on speed now.
We can't just keep your ringer on.
Yeah, there's definitely a few things we need to have you.
A satellite office in a great state of Tennessee.
The Calgary flame.
snapped their eight game losing streak the other night.
And it's the New York Rangers.
Sunday, Ranje.
So you win one game.
Score five.
That's one.
You scored two.
That's two in a row.
And then three, well, that is a streak.
And it has been known to happen.
Win trend streak.
So looking to build on that one game win streak.
Event last night against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto.
They came close, but fell by a score of four to three.
Matt Stomi with a pair of goals.
A couple of shots.
Matthew Nyes.
He's a big person.
He's a large fellow.
Yeah, he's a big, strong.
You had leads at 1-0-0 and 2-1.
It was a weird game in that because watching us,
I feel like, and maybe it's because we're a little down on the flames,
and it's been a tough start to the season.
We're high on the flames.
But watching is, I feel like the flames are doing all right here.
And then you look at the shot clock, 37, 14 or whatever was.
Ooh, he kind of getting away on them.
here a little bit.
Am I paying close enough attention?
And what am I seeing here?
But I still feel like having watched the game and shot clock be damned that were
it not for some really bad mistakes.
Yeah.
Some uncharacteristic turnovers and sloppy play in their own zone that the
flames probably could have gotten a win here.
That's a very reasonable thing.
And those things will happen with the kids like.
Kids like Michael Franklin.
Kids along. Kids like McKenzie.
That's right. Yeah. Kids like back.
Did you want to...
I feel like we can look at the flames.
That was smug and cheap. That was smogging.
Us?
No.
We talked about just going to be moving...
You got Morgan Frost. He's a centerman. He's good in the dot.
You're moving him to the wing, really, are you?
Well, it seemed to work against the Rangers.
It's good with Jonathan Huberdo and Nazim Codry.
Weaving, diving.
Is this slow? Is the internet working?
Does it seem slow?
It looks a little, it does feel a little slow choppy, but I, that's not McDavid zip.
No.
That's, uh, true living's gargantuan blue line.
That is a weird angle because it looks like Frost is going to miss the, the net by about a foot.
It's like he whiffs and then doesn't get a good shot off.
And it goes, only reach out and bank it in, but he's somehow off the skate, zip, right?
Like a flutter puck posting in.
It's a bounced.
You're going to take it.
Yeah.
Welcome to the top line.
We said yesterday there's one of those Toronto guys.
He's going to want to play well in Toronto.
Hey, it's a goal. Revenge game, we said.
That's right.
Should have bet it. Yeah, I don't know revenge or how that works, but.
It's an old man.
And then, uh, leaves who tie it.
As you said, Domi, uh, can shoot the puck.
Zip.
He was a, he was a first round pick coming out of the London Knights.
Like this guy's, this guy can really score.
He's got some jam.
We know who his old man is.
And here again, this wolf is way too deep.
There's a pinch there.
And then there's a, it's a two on one.
yeah i mean it's what's what's handley doing there right what's the terminology it's
is he testing cakes although it was kind of a two on one it was kind of a two on one
almost a three on two now and i don't know if it goes off of hanley's stick or not it was the old
don't cherry's like if you're in the fed get the stick out of the way because even if you don't
tip it goalie can't see it that that fraction of a second anyway of course he's going to put a stick
out there he's trying to block the shot it's a hell of a shot so that's i's a hell of a shot so that's
a one. Ties it a one.
Hell of a shot.
That's fine. You probably weren't going to shut out.
We're going to go with it. Hell of show. You're going to shut him out.
You're in this thing. All right. All right.
Get back on it. Get after it.
And get after it. They do. Some line juggling moving on. Coronado started on the fourth line.
He scored five last game. Where are they?
Farabee cuts to the net. He's on the fourth line. He's been demoted.
Hey, like Chuck. Take this. Go get him. Chuck. Chuck Farabee?
Yeah. Didn't know that.
Well, Chuck Farabee.
C.F.
Now, Domi's testing cakes there, if you see.
He's doing a little stick work there.
It doesn't work.
That's not going to work on Chuck.
Can we have pause for just a moment?
Joel Farabey, God bless you.
You've been playing your tail off.
Finally got one.
Feel good, sleep well.
Yeah.
Good for you.
I don't sleep too.
Good.
You lost.
Well, spoiler.
How many games?
Still waiting for the outcome.
Did he go without?
This was a game.
11. Chuck couldn't chuck it in the net. There's a few. It was 29. He's been good. I've liked
Fariby's game. Yeah, he's been really good. He's been really good. He should sleep good at night if
you're on his side. That's right. I've liked this game. That's important. Be well, Chuck. So there you go,
that got that lead back. Got the lead back. Stolars is tired. A guy's crash in the crease.
He's like, would you guys get these? Still not clear on the crease. Bastards. And then you don't want to
give up a goal. I mean, well, we'll take a look here and see. So there's 40 seconds left,
40 seconds left. Oh, no. Where are you going with that puck? I'm going to go to the safe
place behind my, oh, no, I lost the puck. Backland is calm and cool with the puck. He knows what he's
doing until. So the puck comes here. He's going to grab it. Okay. I'm going to turn. Nope,
away from you. I've got it. No, I don't have it. And okay. So sorry Dustin,
Wolf that's on me. See, this is the problem with the game of
hockey. These guys don't know how to play hockey. Fat cats. Do you want to wait for it?
Hang on to the puck. Do you want to wait for this? There's there any need. There's so many
pylons and apparatus is on the ice all the time that they just, yep, I'm going to just make a move.
Because we'll see later on in the highlights. Off the glass would work there. Yeah, just
just right out the way. I feel like we saw that play in the playoffs and it really cost one team.
So anyway, tie to two. So anyway. After 40 minutes.
Back it up.
Uh-oh, we're going to need a whiteboard.
I need a volume.
I want some volume on it, too, if you don't mind.
Really crank it.
You can really crank it.
Is that your lab coat?
I'm just one of this.
Yeah, okay.
It's in the corner.
This is whiteboard.
They're made off the end.
Got any volume?
We're probably not allowed to have volume.
I like you can have volume.
Who that F's talking to these?
Like, how about some communication?
We sit in here for hours of chat.
You guys can't spend two seconds letting the guy know.
Now, back to his pocket picked by Neeland.
Nice.
Pack it up.
Hansick, open your yap.
I feel like backs should know that there's...
It still needs to be talked.
You see, this is the thing with you.
You always are willing to...
It's just one thing.
They're wearing blue shirts.
Warren Mulliken told me back in junior.
Okay.
Saston Blades, early 90s, mid-90s.
Yeah.
It's usually not the first mistake.
It's a second and third.
It's quite profound.
It's a combination.
Yeah.
It's right?
Man.
Oh.
I do feel like I heard the odd.
Hey, hey.
There was a bit of a, oh, fuck!
There's a bit of that.
You know what kills you is that it's on his forehand,
and he has faced the exact spot you'd want to shoot it off the glassout?
It is the simplest of plays.
It's like, if you're on your backhand, okay, maybe I get it.
But look at, there it is.
That's your chip right there, off the glass and out.
Chippy, chippy, chip, chip, chip, chip, chip, chip.
I made millions of dollars making this the opposite play of what he did.
Just the exact opposite.
To the point, people make.
fun of my abilities, Dean.
They were celebrating.
You know, what wouldn't happen if I was
having that puck on my stick?
You weren't cutting back to dangle.
Or two, one, going into
the third. Okay.
But instead, it's two, two.
All right. It's all right. Just dig in
here. Dig in. Dig in.
This is fine.
And you get to the third.
Just don't make any more mistakes, all right?
Clean it up. Just don't make any more
mistakes. It's going to be fine.
It's going to be just fine.
All right.
inside the first four minutes of the third, Dean.
Yeah, you want to have a good start?
It's power play.
Oh.
And then you fall on your goal and you turn over the puck.
And then it's, yeah, this is the fourth or fifth mistake there that cost.
Oh, see, it's not the first one, Dean.
Do we want the, do you need the whiteboard?
I feel like this is where this is.
We've got noodles is watching, so this is good.
So let's do the whiteboard.
Contra.
We can show.
There it is.
That's whiteboard.
What's important?
So here we go.
It's really important.
You're killing.
a peddley, Dino, you got to win the face off, right?
Yeah.
All right, let's see here.
Yeah, it's a bit of a mock drop.
Could have a got caught in the trip there, but we're already down.
Puck's on your stick.
Oh, no.
See, back in the day, Dino, I'm going to go right back to it.
I made a career out of this.
Use a glass.
I understand you're more skilled than I am, but use a glass.
You couldn't have hit him.
That's Austin Matthews there, Dino.
Whoa, stop back it up, Jack.
What happened with the puck?
Was it spinning?
Well, I look at puck.
Look at ball.
He's doing a steamroller on the goalie.
I don't know what ball's supposed to do, though.
He kind of got wiped out.
Yeah, and that wipes out your goalie,
and then Coleman Bobble behind the net,
and a failed clearance by Erasmus.
It's the fifth or sixth mistake.
Well, I had to do this with my kids last night.
Did you have to do?
Whiteboard?
Yeah.
Okay, so it's three to two.
You're still in this thing.
It's fine.
It's early.
Lots of time.
Next goal is a big one.
That's all.
Five last game, Dino.
Next goal is a big one.
get the next.
They're only getting what we give them.
That's right.
Oh, you're the right end here too.
That's good.
Oh, I've seen that pass.
Well, Blay, Rangers made one of those.
Paul Ranger.
So there you go.
Hey, get the next one.
You're good.
And they got it.
First goal.
First goal for Hansick, again, a bit of a turnover.
I think you would call that.
Sure, where that pass is going on.
I don't know.
Not sure.
Can you back that up, Jack?
Is this the white pork?
Do we need the whiteboard?
Poor do you?
Is this a.
I have no reason to piss myself, but I did, so I'm going to get rid of it.
Like, are you scared of getting hit?
And there's glass on that side of the rink.
Also glass.
Also, this fella here apparently can skate.
Oh.
But we're going to go blind across.
Zink.
Good for Hansa.
He's played well.
That is good for him.
You know what, Dino?
Yeah.
Js are playing.
They won't talk about this.
Is that what it is?
The Jays are playing later.
Well, we'll find out what's on the number one rated radio show coming on.
All right.
So you've tied it up.
You've made some mistakes, but you've capitalized on some money.
They've only gotten what you've given them, Dino.
This is a game that you can control.
You got a point, put it to bed.
You've got the outcome in your hand.
You're too far ahead already.
There we are.
No.
Your cliff is too, you start too soon.
Yeah, it's,
because that's kind of the second McKenzie Weger.
So what did I say about, you know,
you make one mistake?
It's okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, McWeager throws it away for no apparent reason,
and right up the gut again.
I don't know why.
And it hits two minutes left.
You know, it's stuck.
Now, let's just slow this down here.
Are we in tough shape?
You're okay there.
You've got four guys inside your zone,
and they've got, what,
I think they do have four.
Let's go real slow here, Jack.
There we go.
Okay, so what is it, Dino?
It's four on four is what it is.
Clearly you don't know.
You don't pay attention in school.
I don't know if it is four on four.
It's four on four.
It's four on four.
Look at that.
One, two.
yeah four white and four blue he's just on the edge there you can see him yeah so if you just kind of
take a guy has anyone got the puck in a scoring position at this point right feels like it's up for
grabs right like a 50 50 puck yeah so we should be in fine shape even after effing it up all right
jacky let's let's let's let's so this is called stop this is called staring at the puck mr weger
here's got his eyes really lost in yeah where are you headed son and oddly enough it ends up his
stick. Okay, well. Perfect.
Go ahead. Stop.
Oh, you've got two idiots in Toronto running into each other.
They don't even know what the hell they're doing, but we can, we combat this with more stupidity.
Now, what did Backland do when he turned it over and caused a goal against?
It's called trying to do too much, kids.
There's time and a place and there's two minutes left in the game and you're in a slot under pressure after a bubble and a screw up.
Ah, get at the F-out!
Nope.
There's Tamara's something good.
Oh, wait, where is everyone going?
Tell me.
They're going to get the game winner.
Oh.
The Leafs were, yeah.
Hooy, yo, yo.
Poor Huska.
You know who I feel bad for?
Look at this shit.
That is garbage.
Sloppish.
You know what I feel bad for him?
Trent Cole.
Because he's a good man with a great mustache.
What about Wolfe?
Do you feel for him?
I feel for him, too.
God.
Can you imagine trying to keep your cool with that kind of bullshit?
I have a tough time.
It might be some...
Our next guest has just been given a clinic on how to analyze a game.
You might be able to use that later this afternoon.
I think he could probably use it, yeah?
You might be able to use him as a reference too.

of TSN joins us.
I know you would have enjoyed that.
Well, I was watching it.
I was calling a game and I had it on the screen right next to me.
And I texted a buddy and said,
Anderson and Uyghur should have taken their gear off long before that
because that's the type of stuff.
Like, it's all right for workies to make mistakes.
But like I come back to it.
There's no urgency.
And this isn't just restricted to the,
Calgary Flames. No. I watched it last night in Chicago, Ottawa. I see it throughout the league.
There's just, there's no spitey sense as to danger zones anymore. It's just go play.
And God forbid you knock somebody on their rear end in an area. Like you were, you guys had slowed
down the Uyghur situation there where he muffed it up the middle and then decided to take it from
forehand to backhand. Is anybody knocking anybody down?
No. No. No.
And the thing is, as nobody reads the clock and goes, we're in the two-minute zone.
We got a point in our pocket and we can go get it in overtime.
And, you know, these are self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
That's what they are.
And credit to the leaves for forechecking.
Credit to them for stripping pucks.
But that's the thing.
Like there's no danger.
I saw, you know, you pointed out backs.
Like, backs got to make it just a simple safe play.
Safe isn't death sometimes.
Safe is just, let's kick the can down the road and go get that puck in the neutral soul.
Again, these aren't, that's not correct doing that.
No.
That's Weeger.
That's Anderson.
Like penalty kill, I get you want to go through the middle.
fire it. Austin Matthews is going to knock that puck down. You should hit him in the head with it with a slap.
Like he's got to pay a price for that, not just grab it out of the air.
Well, if he does accept it and don't go crazy running around with your head chopped off.
That's the other thing. So Anderson fires it up the middle, goes for a two-pad stack.
Then ball runs over the goaltender. The goaltender ends up face down in the corner because I don't, you know, he's made two huge saves already, forced it outside.
Coleman loses a battle behind the net.
And then Anderson actually has it.
He's now playing goal, and the puck is, he's swatting at it.
And him and Nye's just, Nyes is like, okay, you're going to give me an open net.
I'll just shoot it in.
Like, it's dog park defense.
What's going on with the park?
Is it, uh, is it a dog park defense?
How many more?
You ever seen, you ever seen, you ever, I don't, animals don't like me.
so I don't have a dog.
But if you ever go to a dog park or walk by one,
there's just dogs running everywhere.
There's no semblance.
There's one ball.
Everyone's chasing.
That's dog park defense right there.
There's no semblance of structure.
There's no,
hey,
I just handed my partner a pile of steaming crap,
but I'm going to get back into position and support him
and let him battle out of it.
It's like,
I'm going to chase it down.
I'm going to make up for my mistake.
And then everyone else,
is going to watch. We're going to blow the zone with two minutes left.
Plus that Uyghur is going to get that puck to Coleman over there. He doesn't.
DeVaris strips it. Now it's like, you know, Domi's like, okay, two on one close in. I'll pick
my corner. You're right. The goalie should be going crazy, going what is going on?
Like when you have the puck on your own stick in your own zone, you control your own destiny.
Twice. And on your forehand too, fellas. This isn't a tough plus.
It's disappointing because you played, I thought they played solid.
I thought they played well, I thought they at least deserved a point.
And then you can have a coin flip in overtime to see if skill will take over.
But at the end of the day, these are mistakes that are not, that's not Toronto going,
you know, we've been all over you and forcing you to make mistakes.
These are mental errors.
These are lack of dedication.
Not lack of game awareness.
Lack of awareness.
And reading the clock.
Desperation.
I know it's October.
I know it's a, what was it, a Tuesday night in October.
I get it.
But like have some semblance of bearing down.
Like I don't, if Daryl Sutter was coaching the team,
I don't know if those guys would have been able to walk back in the dress room.
They would have to dress out in the parking lot.
I don't know.
Rightfully so.
That's part of the problem is that it's.
It was disappointing to watch.
Obviously, I was watching it live.
And, you know, there's a two beside the wins category.
And one was a gift, noodles.
One was a gift in Evanton.
And the gift was given last night.
I don't know, Stuart Skinner was hand in goals out again last night.
He was doing his Mike Smith impressionate.
He was getting ready for Halloween.
Evanton just decided that, you know, we're going to put up sticks and not deal with that.
But at the end of the day, like, it was disappointing.
you're a flames fan because you're sitting there going you you know listen you've you've
played at home you've gone out to out east it is you know a little bit of a tough transition
no usually going sorry i got to interrupt say i disagree i know that going out east can be but not to
toronto still for love it or hate it Toronto is a major center where typically when you only
play there once in a blue moon you're excited well i i i agree i would be excited i would be excited to
take my passport and go down to Buffalo
the night before the game. I would be excited to
do that type of stuff that we did.
But the point being
is... The night before?
Don't worry about it. Okay.
Yeah, there was... Not an off day.
There's not an extra day there between... You don't do. You don't go out
with Doug E. G.
Yes. The night before a game in Toronto.
So anyways, the point being
is... In the Leafs and you go to
Buffalo the night before a game against the...
Sorry, I keep in there.
There's a guy that we know that
that used to play there and has friends there.
So anyway,
I'm sorry, Jamie, back to you.
I just, I look at it.
You're right.
It's not a tough transition,
but the time zone,
the game started early.
There's lots of built-in excuses to go,
okay, like, hey, we can get our minds
wrapped around this.
But as the game went on,
you settled in.
These are just,
these are poor errors by veteran players
that should know better.
Put it that way.
That's what I'll end on.
That does not look like a cohesive unit.
And to Jamie's point, like, mistakes happen that you were not under siege for five minutes.
Like, this is a team that has one regulation win in 10 games.
Did you sense the desperation of getting another win when it mattered?
How much of it is, though, because the guys that we brought up, those are the veterans
and their best players.
And a lot is expected of those guys.
It's not a young team by any means.
But certainly on the back end, and we've defended, I've defended Weeger a little bit,
who's he playing with?
it's Bean or it's mere manoff.
It's just it's a revolving door of guys who maybe should or shouldn't be in the
National Hockey League.
I just feel like those are the guys.
Success failure is going to be on their stick on their back,
trying to do too much, trying to make the smart play, playing 22, 22, 25 minutes
on night.
I just wonder it all kind of came home to roost on the same night.
But those are the guys that have to feel like if this, if we're going to pull out of this,
we're the guys that are going to be doing it.
Well, you have to have some semblance of like,
I guarantee you they woke up today.
They see the same things we see.
And, you know, the coaches have clipped that and say,
what are we doing here?
The other day, like, Uighurs had some real,
you could speak to it because you know the position better than anybody.
Weigers had some real gap, some,
he's going north when they're going south.
He's had some weird.
Too hard.
Yeah.
He's pushing too hard.
Which I, I, I,
I, as a player, I respect that somebody pushing hard because they care and they want,
they're almost, it's counterproductive.
You want it so bad, you're trying so hard, you actually, you know, pull yourself out of,
out of position.
The guy up north, Darnell Nurse does it all the time.
Darnell Nurse, less is more with him, but you make a mistake and then he chases it because
it's made a mistake.
I've got to go make up for it.
And I get that.
And the only thing I can say as a goaltender, the harder you try to counterproductive it is,
you can't stop the puck harder because what happens, you stiffen up, you open holes chasing it because you care.
You want to show that you're, I'm not questioning his desire.
I'm not questioning his effort.
I'm just questioning that, you know, sometimes less is more.
Like, Rhett, you were laying it out.
And I was sitting there watching.
Taking notes, yeah.
Simple play is sometimes the best play.
And that's what we see now.
It's ingrained in these players' minds to make a defenseman, make a play, get the forwards.
Sometimes it's just fine to have a 50-50 battle.
Live to fight another day.
Let's fight another day.
Kick the can down the road and go, hey, I'm going to chip it to a safe space and we're
going to go get that puck back.
Maybe the forwards come to the bench and go, hey, I was a big, I was a, I was a,
available. I would like a
pass there. Yes. Okay, we'll come back and
support the play next time and we'll get you that pop.
That's, you know, we, the banter
between forwards and D are always. I've heard it from
Iggy a lot about that. Yes, Iggy and
Robin would yell at each other.
Rhett you would join into because Iggy would say,
did you not see me there and Rob would say there were
six people in between you because you're at the far
blue line and this is when the red line
was still in play.
So, you know,
the point being is
I don't know,
If you're Huska, you show these mistakes, these guys are veterans, they know what they're doing.
But there has to be some semblance of urgency.
This isn't a team like Utah that's won seven in a row and they're going to have an off night and you go,
okay, like we got ahead of ourselves here.
Or Ottawa last night, they put up a touchdown two nights in a row and they're going to show up in Chicago and go,
yeah, we're just going to beat this team and they give up seven.
Like Calgary's in a unique position because when they look at the standings, San Jose is
ahead of them. They're last in the league, I believe.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Yeah, that's correct.
Right. So when you're last in the league and it's posted on the whiteboard that
Rett uses and it's white, it's everywhere, how are you getting out?
Well, we need points.
Like that the desperation wasn't.
I'm worried that the balloon is very deflated already.
And there's a lot of holes in it. And I don't disagree with you.
And it should be that way.
Right.
a couple years ago,
there was a whole whack of guys in Calgary sit,
basically admitting, get me the F out of here.
Yeah, I think there's a lot of guys sitting in that room already,
and I'm reading tea leaves.
I see a lot of guys sit in that room going.
This isn't going to be a long year and maybe a long couple years,
and we can play real good and still end up no.
Yeah.
they're calling the agents
saying
I think at this point
if you told the veteran leadership group
that this team would not be in a position
to be close to the playoffs in December
they'd believe it now
or out of camp they were talking about 97 points
we lost the tie break
mission 97
like I think now the seed of doubt
has been planted and that's sort of what you're talking
when you start looking around
and be like well who actually is
in this for the long law
who got running with
you're right red it might shave a
layer off of it, even if it's subliminal.
You're looking at it going, I'm still trying hard, I'm still going to commit,
but in the end, you know, if I'm here and pot committed,
it is going to be a long couple years.
Now, the counterbalance of that is Rasmus Anderson,
there's teams that would cover to him,
you're watching that going, am I going to give up a King's ransom for that?
He's not helping the cause.
He has not been great.
And they put him with ball,
season, like at least with the weaker, you're saying he's playing with
Waiverclaim caliber guys. Like, Anderson doesn't have an excuse. You're with a steady,
big, stay-at-home guy that defends one. The only catch, and it's not a catch,
what Anderson needs to realize, because he pouted about,
well, everyone told me, I sucked all year last, no one said that. We've never said that.
Were you as good as normal last year? Were you as, you were hurt?
And we said you were. No one has ever really criticized. We've actually
really enjoyed you as a Calgary flame. Blah, blah, blah. He's taking money out of
pocket. You've said it the other day, he's driving down the QE2 throwing
hondoes out. Like this, this guy is costing himself a lot of dough with his play.
Whether you want out or not, I don't give a shit. That's your prerogative.
But be smart enough to realize you need to play better if you want that big money.
If the Kings had actually put seven times nine or eight times nine on the table, which was the
rumor to ask, which was, I believe, the chickering deal, which the flames weren't willing to do.
Like, I don't know that he's a max term player if he's going to play like this.
Like it really feels like it's dropped off a bit.
The only, you're right.
The only caveat, I think there are teams that might be desperate enough to go,
okay, we want a right shot defenseman that can play that.
And you know how the arrogance of organizations are.
We'll make it.
That's in Calgary.
But with us, we will get the most out of this player.
You know, and we've seen it, Seth Jones last year.
Like you go to a different environment, a winning team.
The son's out, yeah.
But it took Pierre-Luc Dubois two stops, right?
L.A. it didn't work.
Pierre-L. Lutebaugh is 25 or 26 as well.
Right, right, not 29.
What is Anderson?
29.
Lasmus just turned 29 two days ago.
Okay, so.
So you're one of his new deal.
He'll be 30.
He ain't old, but.
So are you really going to go to 38 or 37 or 36 with him?
That's the question.
If you've already seen what I think is the significant drop from 27 to 29.
I think teams will, but I guess my point is if you're Connie and you're trying to maximize
the return for that, is the return going to be as high if he continues to not,
we'll just call it inconsistent because I believe he's a good player.
I believe he has tremendous upside, but the inconsistencies.
So, you know, you're on a big stage, regardless of one of people who want to admit it or not,
last night is a big stage. You're in Toronto. There's a lot of media coverage, all of that.
People wake up today going, and believe me, I would, I would, without knowing, I would argue
that Toronto would be a team that would covet Rasmus Anderson. They need a puck moving defenseman.
I don't know if he'd want to go. He controlled, does he have a full new, full new, no trade.
So six teams, I think that's it. Yeah. So maybe, maybe Canadian teams are on it. Who knows? I don't know who's on.
his list. But I would argue if I'm the Toronto Maple Leafs, there's a couple players I'd be looking
at in Calgary. One is played there before. It's Nazam. And the other one is a guy like Anderson or
Weiger, one of the two that can move the puck. Because they don't, if you look at that leaf team,
they don't have puck movers. Morgan Riley's their best puck mover, which he can, but he's limited
in certain areas. They need more guys. Love Chris Tannen, but he's not a puck mover. Jake McCabe's
not a puck mover. Brandon Carlos not a puck mover. Simone Benoit's not a puck mover.
Philip Meyer is not a puck mover. That's their deed. Oh, and all of our Ekman Larson used to be a
puck mover, but he's now 34 years old and falls into that, you know, hey, we want him to play
on the third pairing, second pairing if we have an injury. So those two D would be coveted.
And I'm not just talking Toronto. I'm throughout the league. Is Wigger available? And do you think
that he's, I'm not.
I think Calgary keeps
Weger. I mean, I don't
think he's, I don't, I've met
him several times. I think he's a wonderful
person. I think he's a good player. I
don't know if he wants to be there
for the long haul. This is the question I'm starting
to have. Sorry, I'm cutting you off because I'm leading
the witness. I said it last year when we were talking about
trading Anderson. I actually said, well, I said, well,
if we're going on this path,
why is Weeger not? He's
locked up. Is he not more attractive for,
I don't know what is no trade clauses.
I have none of that.
But the point was,
if I'm a T trading for one of the flames defensemen,
I'm interested in Uyghur as much as Anderson.
And we're just got the full-no move this year and next,
and then it drops to a list.
And it's,
but at some point,
if you are Uyghur and you were,
like I'm trying to get in his head and I'm like,
well, I played in Florida and that was fun.
And then they won some cups.
And now I'm in Calgary.
I don't,
the problem is when you're not winning,
It's not that people, the players dislike your city or your organization.
They're just looking at their careers going,
Where can I win?
Where can I win?
And am I going to ride it out here?
We said it earlier.
Over the next couple of years, am I riding this out?
Well, you just talked about a deflated balloon.
Maybe that's a scenario where Weeger looks at it and goes,
am I, do I want this for the long haul for my career?
Yeah.
Again, he controls that.
And I'm not starting a rumor.
I'm not putting words in his,
out. You know, this is a guy that has been a good soldier committed to the Calgary Flames.
For the most part, it's been a good player.
Didn't have a great night last night. We all have them.
But at the end of the day, there has to be from Connie's perspective, probably a couple no-fly zones as far as, you know,
Wolf's not available.
You know, name me a couple players that you feel might, correct, you know, not available.
I don't know is Coronado guys like that.
Yeah. But at the end of the day, everybody else, I'm listening.
Well, and I just think like they have so few NHL top four defensemen.
You already, I think we're all in the camp that it's 95% Rasmus has gone at some point, right?
Like it would be stunning for him to be on this roster beyond the trade deadline, extension or not.
What are you left with?
Because I don't know that this management group nor this.
owner want to strip it back that far.
You need to keep an actual
top pair guy. Well, you don't have
to trade weaker now. No,
and you can't for two years anyway because he controls all
process. But my point is that I think
the owner wants to,
it's more of the retool than the like
strip it to the studs, trade anyone
that's good. Whether he wants
it or not, he doesn't have to do anything and they
might still win the Mission McKenna.
The way they're going, it is a
deflated balloon. It's a deflated balloon.
They're going to have a very hard time
what are they climbing up to?
Yeah, I think on a really good run, where are there?
25th in the league?
Like, what are we talking about?
Yeah, like that.
The other thing, too, is it comes back.
You're right.
You still need players around, you know, veteran players on term,
around these young guys to help them grow.
You know, like that's part of the process.
If it's a retool, not a scorched earth.
The other thing is, though, is at some point, what does the,
it comes back to Red,
point, at some point or at what point does Weeger go, I'm looking at myself and go, I'm not sure I can
endure this or I want this.
You know, there might be, I think Coleman is a guy that people would covet to.
He's a winner, you know.
Two cups, third liner, good checker.
Good, good person, all of that type of stuff.
He checks a lot of boxes for teams that would want, you know, you have to go for on a deep
run.
So you have to look at players that make.
make sense, but then it comes back to the conversation.
Is there somebody there that we expect to be there that all of a sudden might not want to be?
And now Connie's got to make a decision.
Because if you're making a decision going Rasmus is out and then Wiger puts his hand up and goes,
well, hold on a second.
I'm thinking of my career to try and win.
Now, you know, do you look at Anderson to keep, like do you keep one or the other?
Like that's that that's I say no, but I don't think weger's a type of guy to just put his hand up and say I want to.
I don't either.
I think you're a couple of years away from that.
And I, but again, it's like you're already married to Huberto.
You gave back on an extension.
He's going to be one of your veterans that's going to surround all these young kids that are going to join this team between, you know, Christmas in the next three years and wherever you draft.
Balls locked in long term.
It's really what we're talking about is Nazim and Coleman.
the guys that are close to the end of a contract
that all of a sudden have some options
in terms of saying, okay, I'm on the back nine,
I might be on my last contract,
am I better suited elsewhere?
Let me ask you this.
I wanted to ask Jamie about this one
because you're in Toronto and Nazim and that whole thing.
And he has three years left at $7 million.
That doesn't feel like the end of the contract to me, right?
That's three more years for a guy who's 35
and who right now is playing well,
but it's a $7 million hit for a 35-year-old guy with three left.
I just wonder, he will be a major asset to a team.
He's going to step on the ice to be very good for them.
I just wonder, what's the, what's a fair asking price?
Depends on if you make him a $5 million player or $4 million player for teams that
are pressed up against it.
You can get more.
They're less worried about that term.
If it's four or five, I'd agree.
You're going to get a lot more.
Like, that's the thing.
But that's something you have to do, right?
Sure, so do it.
It might have under the cap.
If you're asking, you know, if it's not a lot of teams have seven million
and they might have depth down the middle of the ice,
he's your number three, right?
That's the biggest thing.
And, you know, Nas has had a decent start.
I do, father time is chasing him.
There has been some nights where he doesn't have that pop,
he doesn't have that speed.
He's not a burner.
He's a darter.
Like he darts.
He reminds me at Ray Whitney's speed.
Ray Whitney was a darter.
But he wasn't a blast out speed guy.
But he's skilled and he's got bite and he would have value.
But is it at $7 million value for the next three years or is it really attractive if he's a $4 million or $5 million player?
Yeah.
And then you've got to retain for three years, which is something that owner.
and GMs are leery to do. That's one of your three
retention. They had lots of money
and space last year to use
and what did they do with it? Nothing.
Yeah.
They didn't. They didn't. They didn't move. They didn't move.
They clearly feels like the peak of his own.
I asked just before this
is the Russian
in play? The, uh, where's the sharing?
You're? I just don't know that, like,
who wants that guy, that money? I think they'd
sell immediately. If you could get
him to a spot where he is a commodity, I think
that'd happen. I think Joel Fairby's a guy that with
two years left at five or whatever it is.
Like, could you eat something and get him?
Like, they get too many bottom nine wangers.
They're putting guys that should be playing in the press box,
not because this team is so good,
but because most of this roster is second,
third, and fourth line wingers.
They don't have top line wangers.
Right.
But, you know, you look at it if you can get out from out and underneath it,
and it's almost like trade for somebody else's bad,
you know, fresh start.
You know, give me a look at somebody else that makes a defenseman,
maybe.
if you feel like you're losing Anderson,
who will be moving on,
is there a defenseman out there that would,
mid-late 20s, potentially bad contract,
somebody else's in it?
Can they clear out enough space?
Here's the best case scenario I see for this team
if they want to do a quick retool,
is to clear out as much space as they can,
get the best draft pick they can,
and hopefully the number one.
And do you think with the caps,
can you offer a top-end guy enough in free agency
and does it make sense?
Well, if you get, you can sell hope if you get a golden goose.
Yeah.
If you get McKenna, it's like, hey, we got, now, I was in Chicago last night.
It's taken a bit, a bit for this Bedard to arrive, obviously Hatrick last night.
But he's a hell of a player.
Early on, I didn't like his, his.
Last year, he had the shit attitude.
Well, I just didn't like, I thought he got pushed off pucks.
I didn't love his pace.
and he wasn't good away from the puck.
But I forget that at 18 years old,
not everybody just hits the ground running.
You have to learn how to play in the league.
The light's gone on.
So I talked to a few people that,
like this guy is a really dedicated professional.
He's in great shape, like really good shape.
Works hard at his craft.
Yeah, it looks like you, right?
Minus Zempic.
And Pinder told me that to say that.
I didn't say anything, noodles.
I didn't say it was talking to him.
I have not safe enough, noodles.
But this kid works hard.
And the light has gone on.
And he's starting to realize, okay, what's my spacing look like on the ice?
Where do I need to go to get that shot away?
Because to me, the last couple of years, he's been too stagnant, just standing there waiting for the puck and then to shoot it away.
And good deer closing on him.
And he wasn't getting that shot away.
Now he's putting himself in positions.
He's creating some space for himself.
He's pushing back.
He's absorbing hits.
Outside of a hat trick yesterday,
I really liked his game just the way he went about his process.
So my point being is Chicago, you can see the growth there.
They've got a couple other good young players.
That Nazar is a nice player.
They've got some young D there.
They got Spencer Knight, who I think is a fantastic goaltender.
You know, well documented his struggles off the ice
with OCD, all of that type of stuff.
He's gotten help with it.
He's a really talented goaltender.
They got him, I think, at 5.8 for the next five years.
It's 24 years old.
So they got a goalie.
They got some young D there.
And they've got Badaard.
They've got Naser.
They've got some players.
And now you're starting to add.
They picked up Burakoski, you know, these mid-level players that are helping
kind of shape around.
So coming back, how I would apply it to the flames.
If the year continues and this pace,
and you end up getting McKenna.
And then you've created cap space by trading Anderson for picks or prospects.
Maybe it's Coleman.
Maybe it's Caddry.
And you're retooling, but you've got a golden goose.
All of a sudden, somebody who's available in the offseason, and you're going to overpay.
It's the market.
It's all of that.
But you go, hey, we might have some flexibility to land a top tier unrestricted free agent.
or you can acquire somebody with that term that is willing to go there,
with the currency that you've gotten,
Connie's gotten with Anderson trade or Cadbury trade or all of that.
So I think there's flexibility,
but with that flexibility,
the pain to get there is going to be,
it's going to be a long year.
Can I give another example?
It's not going to be any more painful than it already is.
This is epic failure.
It has speeded it up in a way, wouldn't it?
I think so I think it has to be the acceptance.
I look at San Jose.
Celebrini, I don't think we thought was going to be the player is.
We thought he was going to be real good.
He's already astounding.
Like he's got 15 points or something insane.
He's right there amongst the league leaders.
They weren't able to go get top, top, top UFAs with cap space,
despite having this guy and Will Smith.
And then they had Mesa this year.
But they did go get Tyler to Foley on a deal that's probably too rich for a contender
because they had cap space.
They did get to Mitriorov,
who was a big stabilizing left shot D.
They did get John Klinberg,
who built some value back up with Evanton last year
that can move the puck.
That's kind of the aisle you're shopping in.
It's not going to be Eichel.
It's not going to be Marner,
like the theoretical free agents of this summer or next summer.
But you can probably find those second tier guys
and overpay a bit.
Look what Anaheim did.
Yeah, Crider Truba.
Yeah, sure.
You start to add these things around these young players
and go, yeah, I'll go there and play with those young guys.
and, you know, make some good money.
And, like, I agree.
But you need that piece to go, we see, we've got a golden goose.
We've got a special player here that now we need to build out.
And Chicago did it.
It took them in phases.
They gave Nick Folino too much money.
They gave Corey Perry too much money.
Didn't work out there for Perry.
But, you know, they went, that was phase one to help a dart.
Now is phase two with them.
And they're getting some better players.
and you can see it. Calgary already has the incumbent.
They got the goaltender.
They got him on term, right?
So you've got some players that you think are going to be good.
If you can add in now a star around them and then shape the,
you got Backlin, who's going to be a great leader,
and we all love backs and that type of stuff.
But there is going to be some moving up the deck chairs around.
Connie's got some work to do.
He probably thought he was done after two years ago.
When he comes in, takes the job, I got Lindholm.
and Zadorov and Tanev and Hanoffin.
Hanifan.
I got all this.
Okay, well, I got that taken care of and all right, we'll move on.
Yeah.
They're not all UFAs.
It's the same but different, I guess.
But I, you know what?
Like now the cycle is, it's downturned, right?
So when is the, somebody asked me this yesterday.
I didn't have the answer.
When is the ring going to be available?
Fall 27.
Two years.
So two years, right?
They'll open two seasons from now.
Not next season.
the following season they're supposed to start there.
That's where I'd be really shooting for it to be a good team.
Is go new building, generating revenue,
excitement, all of that type of stuff.
And good meaning exciting, not ranked top two in the league
with odds to win the cup, right?
Like two.
An up-and-coming team with Britain's building.
Like there's nothing wrong with that.
Like I just, I look at it and you get this,
all the excitement.
would be around the team.
Hey, we got this shiny toy,
and we got these, we got this young players.
You know, like, there can't be anything worse.
I, than if you still.
You've got to get your Colman and Bathe.
Anders, like, there would be, I can't even, like,
good much trying to sell a seat there.
Like, you're going to ask more for the same beer and more for the same seat.
You'd better have a marquee young player to sell tickets to you if you're not a contender.
Lord knows you're not going to be a contender.
And you,
We're so far into the, like it's, it feels early, but this year is we're, we're deep enough into it.
This is what you are.
Well, is it, are we 11 games in?
Yeah.
Okay.
It's 11 games.
Like I always say give 20.
The problem is it's been a painful 11.
Yeah, but yeah, you're not even middle of the packet at 11.
So even if you go, if you rattled off, what's, nine more wins.
Okay.
So now you're kind of okay.
Those are the eight teams that are below 500 in the NHL.
Who are you reeling in?
Maybe San Jose.
I would say.
And you've got a steady diet of Colorado, Vegas, Dallas, Winnipeg.
Let me ask you guys this, objectively, keep that list up there.
What of those teams is the Calgary, if we do the whiteboard and put the Flames roster on the left and you put any one of the
those teams on the right, what
team is the flames better
on paper than any of those
teams we're looking at?
I just say San Jose, that's it
because they're just young. They'll be better in next
year, but not. I don't think they're better than San Jose.
I don't know. They just can't defend, that's all.
Like, San Jose cannot keep the puck out of their net.
Yeah, yeah. But, like, you'd rather
switch rosters with San Jose because you're going to be good
for the next decade. But that's what I'm
saying is like, we always say do the whiteboard,
do the math, you know, do the
comparison, lay the rosters on top,
each other. There are certain components I like about the flames because I think that I like the
goalie and I would take, I would take the goalie over a lot of, you know, half of those teams,
half because I like Schisturk and I like Demko, I like Soros, you know, but outside of that,
like I, but I'm thinking like lay those rosters side by side, pretty much every team on
that list that's above them is either farther ahead or probably better than them. It's got more
talent, yeah. You are where you belong, I think.
Got your answer right there.
I see it from, like, we're all, unfortunately, we all kind of see it the same way.
So there's not a whole lot of, I see from the other side when you talk about,
we got to let you go, gosh, you got a show to get ready for it.
Oh, you got a bill extra for this.
You could do what they're doing and you may or may not make the playoffs and that.
If once you strip it down, you know that you're going to be losing a lot of,
of hockey games.
You're accepting that.
You're buying in for that.
And when you talk about,
I mean,
in Anaheim,
well,
okay,
it's been a long slog in Anaheim.
It's been a long,
it was a long,
they had a great time,
but in Chicago,
it's,
it's been a long time there
of watching some uninspired hockey.
I get why there
would be some trepidation to say,
yeah,
we may win the draft lottery,
and we may draft high,
and let's hope the kid turns out.
but how far is that kid from being really helping us?
Is it going to be three years, four years?
Celebrating.
Of wolf.
If he's good enough, it's good enough, it's a couple years.
Like, Badard looks like he's helping Chicago right now.
This is year three, correct?
Oh, listen, if you get McKenna, then sure.
But not often does the last place team win the draft lottery.
Yeah.
There's problem with, I understand what you're saying, but the other side of it is there's no argument.
You are what you are.
You're in the last place.
You have two wins.
There's no other path.
What are you trying to sell me?
There's no other path.
What are you trying to sell me?
Well, we're going to be good win?
Why are we better next year with the same plan?
No.
Like, are they a threat to reel off seven in a row?
Sorry.
I, the disappointing part is we could be talking about a nice win last night.
And that was, that's, that's the disappointing part.
And in watching some of these games, you're like, okay, they're close there, close
there.
Like, you know, they're being uninspired, though, noodles.
like the games haven't been fast and full of passion.
And it is what it is.
But there has not been,
aside from the gift in Edmonton,
flat in Vancouver,
they had a period or two here,
some stretches of decent hockey.
Have they been bad?
No,
but have they been really good and invested?
Absolutely not.
The teams that they've beat,
the Rangers,
they looked like dog shit.
The Leafs good last night?
I don't think the Leaves were good last night.
They don't look like they're firing on all.
And it's, it's 82 games and everyone's going to play them.
There's peaks and values for everyone.
This team is flat.
Yeah.
This team is flat.
Who is it that drags you?
I would ask you this.
Who's the player that drags this team into the war, into the fight?
Yeah.
It's a good question.
You know, like.
It's the goalie, but it's hard to see that, right?
He's the guy that would have the literally have that.
And it's the other guy's Nazum, because you can see it.
He wears it.
wears it. When he's mad, you see it. Some guys will kind of steam and boil under, you know,
undercover, not, not Naz. Nas looks like he's got a bit of a lip on, though. That's what I think.
I think he's looking at it going, who am I playing with, all of that type of stuff, which I get it.
Guy's competitor a couple years ago, wins a cup. Like, you know, he's been in different environments
now. But I do respect him. He loves, you know, seems to love Calgary, seems to embrace.
you know, what's going on here, but, you know.
It's business now.
Yes, it's a transaction.
Huberto coming back, I think, help NAS because there's a little creativity there,
a veteran guy to play with.
I think now that NAS is a veteran guy, probably some of the younger guys
probably frustrate him a little bit here or there with the lack of experience or, you know,
it's probably like looking in the mirror because that's what he was like in Toronto.
He was a young, you know, up-and-coming kid.
but that's where like is there a guy i know ottawa found a formula without brady kachuk
but brady kichuk is there is the guy that puts beer in teams like he's their emotional and
physical leader i look at the flames you're right it's the goalie like it's the goalie who's their
leader he's their best player and if he's average on a night it doesn't look good that's he's that
good you guys have both been in because we'll get you out of here but it's just just just
couple things. You guys have both been in team meetings.
It's like today or before the next game against the senators.
Are they watching that tape together?
I wonder if I'm coaching, I would say this.
If I'm going to show it at all, because I don't know if I would.
It's embarrassing.
Yeah, because it's, and you don't need to embarrass veteran guys.
But if I was to show it, I would, this would be my message.
See these plays?
These are not Toronto Maple Leaf's plays.
These are our mistakes.
I'm not criticizing.
We played well enough to win that game.
Let's not make these mistakes.
This is our undoing, not their doing.
We're good enough to beat the Leafs.
We didn't.
Only because, again, and the message isn't a,
you suck.
How could you do that?
It's a, look at this.
Because there's some learning to be done from it,
but it's hard not to make it look like you're showing up your veteran guys.
Which is fair.
And I think there also is these conversations that, you know,
you get the assistant coach on the,
plane that walks over with an iPad, these clips are two or three things.
You said, here's your spacing here.
You thought you had more time that closed on your quick, you know, make your play decision,
make your decision quicker here.
You're on your forehand.
Why are you taking it to your backhand again?
That type of stuff.
I will say this.
Rhett, I don't know how you were.
I was my own worst critic.
I knew the minute I allowed a goal or made a mistake what the mistake was.
these guys will see it on the news.
You know, it was on Sports Center.
I just worked out and I was watching,
I watched the highlights.
You know, they pointed it out.
McKenzie Weger with it on its stick and it's off his stick and Max Domi scores, you know.
So he's watched the replay.
He's already assessed at what he could do better.
Sometimes guys are self-motivating, but you do need the coach to point things out and just go,
hey, we need a little bit better.
more determination in tough areas.
That's where I would frame it.
And we could leave it at that.
But that was not good enough last night from veteran players.
Put it that way.
You set it out of the gate, like shooting yourself in the leg.
They've gone Plaxical Burris.
They've gone to the bar and shot themselves in their own leg.
They did not get beat by the leaves.
They did it to themselves last night.
Yeah, they did.
They went to Buffalo.
And they, uh, yeah.
Went to Buffalo the night before.
It was good.
Dog Park defense.
I was good, too.
I like that.
How have you never, your kids don't want a dog?
great dad. Your kids have never said, dad, we should get a dog. They asked me every day. My daughter
asked for a dog every day. And I said, you've got a little brother. And I told them, I said,
when I retire, I'll look at a dog. But dogs have dirty faces. They always are dirty faces.
It's a bit of a germophobic. Dogs are like kids. And you know what the problem in my household is?
Who's going to walk the thing? You. Exactly. What's happening in my house? I'm getting the same thing.
and Peg Bundy who sleeps on the couch eating Rhonda.
Jeez.
Peg.
Taking straight.
What a deep pull.
Holy.
That's a moldy reference there, Noodles.
My wife works more than I do.
So put it that way.
We just, we don't have time and the dog, I'm too big of a neat freak.
Can you imagine hair everywhere and just a slobbering dog?
It's just, yeah, I can't do it.
I'm sorry.
And animals don't like me.
That's the thing.
They don't like my face.
Well, they're the only ones.
Humans love you.
They're the only one.
Get out of here.
See you.
All right.
Have a good day.
Sands and flames.
Tomorrow.
Yeah.
Can't wait.
Yeah, we didn't talk.
No, we can't.
We'll talk to them tomorrow.
Yeah, we'll bring him back.
Bill and twice, bring him back.
Oh, who didn't talk baseball?
There you go.
That is the insider hotline for crystal waters, plumbing and heating.
Anything that's going on, your furnace, your air conditioner, whatever it is.
Turn of the seasons.
something goes sideways.
Ooh, what is that?
It's your first and only call.
It's the only thing that should pop into your head.
Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating, crystal clear Calgary.com.
You probably want to, you want to look at some of those,
you made glaring mistakes that cost you the hockey game.
But if you do it in front of the team, those are the guys.
But you know, because you, like you said, glass note, it's okay there.
Well, if we ice it, we'll win the face off.
Those guys are so veteran.
They know.
you could show it, but what are you showing?
You guys have already know.
Like, you don't think McKenzie Bueger's like, man,
if I just got it on my backhand, sir, like, no, he's like, I got to get that out.
But the shit's happening on a near nightly basis.
It is.
And I think it's, but if you don't address it, it is, well, he knows.
No, it's been addressed.
Can you just, but that's what I'm saying, if you were going to address last night,
how do you go about doing it?
You don't.
I told you.
So that's, that's why I asked.
You don't, or you sell it as, F, you guys, we had a win.
This is on us.
Here's how we lost.
of critics like again you have to
present it in a non-critical we lost to
Vancouver in game one of the year we went to the
finals here yeah and we're like Jesus we're sitting
around having a soda pop after the game
in Vancouver having a meal it's like
you felt shitty because you lost you're like yeah but you
beat yourself yeah it took a penalty we didn't do
they don't really beat us we beat ourselves that's the
message we beat ourselves and it is
It does look like a bunch of veterans that still want to believe
that do want to pull this thing out of the gutter,
but they're making, they're trying to do too much.
I see a group of guys.
Dude, all those highlights are guys trying to do too much.
What do you, what do you do?
Yeah, it's, it's tried to do too much.
It's also.
There's not enough intensity, but it's trying to do too much.
Exactly.
Both those things.
Yeah.
I think they're flat.
I agree.
I just.
If you had watched that game and come out of a coma from a month that said one of these teams had lost,
you know,
has one regular.
should win in 10 games.
I don't know which one it is.
There was no desperation there.
The reference is right, and they have only had, but the problem is once 13 in a row we lost in Florida, where we wound up for game 14?
No.
Your emotion, it's, I said, it's a balloon.
It's deflating.
There's too many puncture wounds right now.
It's easy to say, we got to be done.
You are kicked in the nads already.
It's, let's just try to.
This is January 15th, minus 40 game.
Yeah.
It's tiring.
This is the dog days,
whatever you want to call it.
They are not emotionally high right now.
And you can try and yell and kick and scream and where.
So what about Ottawa on a Thursday?
Yeah,
that's going to be another muck fest.
After Ottawa got pump of Chicago last night,
which is noodles reference.
They've been rolling goods.
They sit Chicago lightly.
This is not an easy game.
We'll take a train and have a,
you guys need a beer.
I need a week off and they need a reset.
They really need a different cast of characters.
Yeah.
It was something that popped up that I wanted to bring up because
probably a little too abstract for noodles.
But like when he asked about who's dragging guys into the fight,
now I'm not going to call him a leader and I'm not going to say that this guy
is one of their best players,
but they're missing some of that piss and vinegar that Martin Pospicil brings.
If he brings it.
Right.
A hundred percent.
What he's supposed to be.
Yeah.
Yes.
Totally.
So when Martin Pospisil's added.
is best. He turns random shifts into street fights. They miss that. And they also have too many bloody
wingers and you're going to have, like Coronado's on the skating is an extra today. Pirex skating
is an extra today. Like that's a guy that could help this team emotionally. I'm not saying that
the here swings the season, but it's like it just reminded me like they do have some guys like that.
But Klopka was out last night. He'll bring energy.
Coronado skating is the extra? Yeah, we'll get to that right now.
he had skate this morning.
So Porex an extra he's out. It looks like
Coronado an extra. Now again, it's day before the game.
Sherrykovich at center.
Igor on the second line.
The coach is not undercoaching this team.
They're pissing around with this.
This is just the day after a loss line up.
This is a message to the players that you're all idiots.
And that they finally got, you know what they did?
They had it delivered to the wrong place.
The bingo machine.
The bingo machine.
It's in Ottawa.
I thought you met the pizza like Jack.
Add him to his old address.
We're beating a dead horse here, but just look at the wingers.
Oh, I mean.
Look at that line up on.
It looks like happening.
Three third lines and a fourth line.
Yes.
Those are lines every rink you go into before the game.
The other team will have the lines.
And what other team is looking at this lineup going,
roof.
The name they're circling isn't on the screen.
It's Wolf.
If that guy's not the first star, we win.
Regardless.
There's nothing intimidating about this.
And trying to beat a goalie is not,
is, yeah, he's their best player.
But I'm just saying,
this lineup goes up on the wall
in other teams, ranks or dressing rooms.
You're not walking by it.
It's a split second.
Who's on?
Okay, whatever.
This is, you're not going, okay, I got to play.
who was at the
he was it started
in Atlanta the Russian
Kovilchuk
Kovilchuk right you're actually
you see that guy's name on there
you're going okay
I got to remind myself how to play against
Kovilchuk
There's no Valerie Burr
There is nothing on this line of
Perrier going okay what's this
oh yeah this is a unique challenge
yeah it's not it's not
physical we're not scrapping
we're not getting banged overly hard
we're not going at an incredible pace
Harry and we're not getting lit up
on the scoreboard.
If we can get two or three,
we're probably going to be in a good shape
and we're probably going to get two or three.
So make sure you get traffic to the net,
take the goalie's eyes away,
and we'll be fine.
Work hard.
Anyway, other than that.
Are you,
from the press box,
the second line?
I was kind of looking at it.
Okay, so who's no Zerries?
Why are the centers?
There's so many nuts.
I still, and I don't think there's any,
why aren't you playing Perak?
Look, he's making mistakes
just like he's made the first 10 games.
Maybe it's a breather.
Or, again, maybe this is the day,
before the game and we'll get to the road.
Or do you want to play Pahal at some point this season?
I feel for him.
And if that's the only thing, if that's the only way is he's got to be on the right side,
then.
So, boy.
Shooting right.
That's his problem.
Sharon Govich did spend some time at Center his first season on the fourth line.
And it was no good.
Yeah.
He came in and they, they were kind of banging him around everywhere, trying to find.
Can you throw it back up?
He played on all four lines at first year here, including all three positions, right,
left and center.
Center he played on the fourth line.
The beginning was no good.
He got him out of the fourth line and he actually had that
30 cool c.
Here's,
I would put Frost where Kirkland is and Coronado in with someone and just go four lines.
And so you guys figure it out.
You're all third lines.
You're all third lines.
What the hell am I trying to adjust lines to help?
No,
you figure it out.
Yeah.
And if we're being,
you know, a little kinder,
okay, sure,
you have one line.
And you know what?
And I might go three center,
but I might dress 70 to get Perican alignment.
I don't need Kirkland in.
Frost can go to center.
Yeah.
I go on cadre.
Frost and Backlton.
Zary can move to the middle if you need it.
Cornado, you're in for Clapka or Longburg.
I don't care.
Sharon Govich, right?
Like, okay, how would that worse?
Frost goes to Sharon Govich.
Sharon Govich goes to Lomburg or Clapka and Coronado moves up.
Longberger, Clapka out.
7D.
3-Centerman.
What, like, POSP's not even back.
Like, I just, they've got too many bloody, mediocre wingers.
So many of them.
Like, put POSPso below Clapka or switch sides of the Coronado, whatever.
It's like, what are we doing here?
Well, I was going to say, it's back to that if you're Huska,
you slide the roster over and be, what would you do?
You get the Bingel machine.
What can you do with this roster?
I just gave them the idea.
But you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
You can do a lot of things.
I don't know that it makes you any better.
No.
I mean, you can put Sherigovitch at center and you can put Longberg in the rafters.
I don't know if they're any better off against the Ottawa morning.
No, and look, there's just limited talent.
We talked about the coach being very,
visibly frustrated in that opening nine games
where they had one gifted win.
It does, like, he is absolutely shaking, shaking, shaking,
to see if he can find something.
But it's not like there's great pieces
and they're not clicking.
They're what they are.
And you can move guys all over the map.
You've got, you know, six different guys here that have played center.
Cool.
Are any of them number one centers?
No.
Okay, well, you've got, you know, 11, 12, 13 wingers,
14, 1, possibly.
I guess not wingers, but you get my point.
Put them where we want.
Like it does not matter.
You've got one guy that can get on a second line on a contender in cadre.
Maybe Hubert over your squinting.
Beyond that, these are fourth, third and fourth liners, a whole roster of them.
Hey, congrats to Hansick on getting that goal last day.
First at H.O. goal, you'd like a, you probably wish you could feel good about it, right?
It's got to be a bit of a muted celebration after the game.
During it was admitted.
That was a big job.
But I just, you know what I mean?
After game.
So you get your first goal.
Well, it would have been nice to get a win.
It's what you've got to say to the media.
It's all Brendan Parker when he comes staggering in there.
Big pot head.
Pot at this time.
I don't think he knows what pot is.
That's for boiling water, Dean.
Tomorrow, though, senators.
I'd look out.
Can't wait.
They're better than at least.
No, we're fine because we didn't do a show Friday.
We'll be at the Belgian beer cafe watching highlights.
Look at these dummies.
InvestMed.
invest dash med
Now did you like go in
You went in and did the whole
I've done it all man
How did that start?
Give us the intel
Because I'm a
Because you care
A bit of a worry ward
But also I've
You guys always make fun of my quirkiness
Yeah
The things that I'm interested in
But I do believe that if you
Are in front of these things
You have a nice run ahead of you
So you have like one lap on earth
sit around and stare at the window,
or out the window, and don't
concern yourself. Like,
there are stages in your life
where you're going to change. So
when you're 40, guess what?
You're not 20.
And the body's going to react differently.
And you can see it through the course of
history. And if you'd like to combat
that or stay ahead of it,
invest me. Yeah, there's the,
I think that you can put your head
in the same. Or we can wait until
something goes sideways. Yes.
It's like, geez, I've been having severe chest pain.
So I went to the doctor.
Well, good for you.
That would be the thing to do.
Or you can try and be smart about it and get in, get in front of it.
Invest dashmed.ca is the website.
You get a one hour consultation with a physician.
They kind of go through, give us your history.
You're going to fill out some paperwork.
So I mean, obviously for me, I think you guys were aware.
My parents died.
Your parents?
What I was young.
Anyway, I thought they abandoned.
It was sure.
That was one of the things.
It's like, okay, so there is some, there's some history here.
Well, let's get it kind of walk, walk through that, this sort of thing.
And that $199, one hour consultation, and then you get, you let the work begin.
And I know that, not to get overly serious, but I mean, you're, you're going to hit a number soon.
I hit a number recently.
And guys like Jack, they got nothing to worry about.
But it does happen.
to a point in your life where things just don't work the way they used to.
And it makes you think about those sorts of things.
And it's nice to know that there's something like InvestMed that is there to either give you
some reassurance or guidance.
Yeah, some guidance or to recognize some certain things and then try and combat that.
I got this little lump here.
Yeah, probably just leave it.
No.
You don't have to accept.
Did you hit yourself with a hammer?
I don't think so.
Did I go to InvestMed?
Figure it out.
You'll one lap on earth.
Be healthy for it.
And it's here in our city.
So we're very lucky to have that kind of thing.
Because a lot of people,
they travel the globe to get this kind of stuff.
Don't have to.
Invest dashmedd.ca.
Tough to pivot from that into our Nashville trip.
But, um,
I do see that too much.
The docs have already read me the riot acts.
So that's good.
Trying to.
Can we bring Temple on the plane?
I feel like that might be a move.
I don't,
I know with alcoholic beverages over the borders of thing,
but with like a non-alcoholic space.
I'm not
sure.
I don't know.
I'm not going to recommend that.
Jack's got a real in with
customs and immigration.
That would be a move,
I think.
Anything there, Jack?
Anything on that?
You got any,
do some research.
Probably not,
eh?
No,
no idea.
Temple,
while we're here,
I mean,
non-alcoholic,
beer.
That tastes like beer.
Is there a ball game tonight?
Who would have thought?
There is a ball game.
So when I have a ball game last night,
wake up feeling good.
Yeah.
Here's the thing.
It's stressful.
The high anxiety.
the high tension this playoff baseball.
If doing this makes you,
like tip the can makes you feel better,
there's a lot of moments you're going to be tipping
the can. So maybe mix in a few temples along
the way and you won't be a train wreck the next day.
Is that how that works? It's an idea.
You may need to tip the can.
It's like, oh my God, this.
What's the Bach? What's the Bach more?
Is he steal of stagnos?
That really threw me off yesterday.
Golden Logger will be an everyday favorite.
It's made. It's Canadian made.
It's soon,
It's a spacer, like Ryan says.
Or maybe you just, you're off alcohol altogether,
but you do like to be sociable and have a drink.
Yeah, can in your hand.
Enjoy it.
Available online or at liquor stores in Calgary.
You could Google and find out all the details.
T-E-M-P-L.
Tempo is how you spell that.
No E on the end.
No booze in it.
No E in the end.
It's not a university, Dean.
That's right.
Tasty too.
Nor a chairlifted.
There you go.
Ryan Pindoo.
Let's do the PIN report.
Time of the Pinda report for Village Honda.
Our good friends in the Northwest Auto Mall and online at VillageHonda.com,
they're your dealership for life and they're blowing out the 2025 demos right now.
Low kilometers.
Supply is limited, but big savings to be had.
We're talking to pilot touring edition, the Accord Hybrid Touring Sedan, the Ridgeline,
the Ridgeline Trail Sport, not to mention the CRV Hybrid, Civic Sport, Civic Hybrid,
all available, great deals on the demos.
Get them out of there.
They've got the 26es they've got to make room for.
your opportunity to get a great deal from Village Honda.
We start with Flames Nation,
a game in the center of the universe last night.
The devil was in the details
and the Flames lost to the Maple Leafs,
and isn't that true?
There's Ryan Pike saying what we said.
A lot of self-inflicted wounds there.
If you take care of the puck a little better,
that's a likely two points.
Team Tanker's not too worried about it,
but if you're in that room preaching 97 points,
feels like a missed opportunity.
What kind of no one's bringing at that point?
Yeah, do you say?
No one's talking.
in that language anymore.
Let's take it one game at a time
and we're going to go out there, give it our best.
Best shot.
Here's the sked. That was the opener of a four-game roadie.
Schneides?
They're heading to Ottawa.
Do you take a terrain to Ottawa?
Do you fly?
I don't remember.
Well, it's Canada on a Thursday.
I'd be getting in late last night, get it to Bairfax.
It's damn right, Ryan.
Wing Wednesday at Bearfax.
Can't be.
It was like Gatinaw or Ottawa?
What's the...
That's downtown.
I'm in the river on the stream.
What are the cities?
We'll be there.
It is a 1.30 start Calgary time.
2.30 in Nashville.
We might even be at the game.
It's the flames and the,
you know, given we have tickets.
Yeah, we have tickets to the game.
Could even be there, potentially.
Depending what time we bail out Jack that morning from Halloween night.
How does bail work in Nashville?
I don't know if you need a lawyer or just a stack of money.
We'll figure it out, Jack.
Don't worry.
Yeah, I never understood bail bondsman and how that works.
Is that like a career?
How do you get a job?
How do you get into that?
She's probably Google it.
What's the story there?
It is a back-to-back that starts in Nashville and closes in Philly.
Get your gritty on Sunday evening against the flyers.
You got a Garnet Hathaway.
You got a Dan Bladar.
You got a Morgan Frost and Joel Fairby.
A little bit of robbery game of sorts.
All right.
That'll close the road trip.
Then they come back for Columbus and Chicago at the dome.
Elsewhere, Nazim Kodry is a massive topic of conversation.
I don't know if it's rightfully so.
because we like talking about trades.
And I don't think any conversations have happened
between Nazim and the Flames at this point.
But we know that it's very likely those conversations
will happen at some point this season
if the flames continue to struggle.
Here are the insiders on TSN.
We're well underway already with Nazim Kadri
and the Calgary Flames.
Lots of talk. Is there anything to it, Drake?
No, not really. I mean, there is a lot of talk.
There's a lot of speculation driven by the media.
And the reality is it comes from a place
where the Calgary Flames are playing well below expectation.
and there are other Canadian markets, namely the Montreal Canadians, the Vancouver Canucks,
maybe the Toronto Maple Leafs that could absolutely envision a number two experience center
like Nazim Qadri in their lineup.
But the reality is that Nazim Qadri loves Calgary.
And unless the flames decide that their roster needs reconstruction,
and that could happen through the remainder of the regular season leading up to the trade deadline,
then at least from the moment it is premature.
Sure. So there's tons of interest. Don't get me wrong, but the timing isn't right yet.
Reasonable.
Measured, not hot takey at all, and probably 100% accurate.
It's going to have to get a little darker, a little later before we're into the awkward conversation.
Time change this weekend?
Maybe if we didn't have time change, it would be.
Would that work as far as darker?
It's not going away, I guess.
It's not.
And it's funny, because we talked about Rastaf,
being the distraction.
No, there's no distractions.
That's a nice thing about this stuff.
They're not distracting.
That's tight room, no distractions.
Ryan, back to you.
All right, let's keep moving.
All right, the bottom of the standings.
Flames are not just in them, but
they are them.
They are the bottom.
Thank you, Stuart Skinner.
That's one of your wins.
Rangers, you looked awful.
That's two.
And then there's eight regulation losses to go with an extra time.
We need more stew in our life.
Yeah, it's stew season all right.
Delicious.
Damn it.
I mean, they are very similar in the standings,
but I can't imagine the vibes being more different
between if you were a Sharks fan and a Flames fan.
Like, God, that team's fun.
They score a ton, all these young stars.
The vibes are not good in St. Louis.
That is probably a more similar match.
Jim Montgomery is, there's some puckering going on in St. Louis.
And they were great when he took over last year.
Remember, he came in in, like, November for that Drew Bannister or whatever.
Dylan Holloway was a point per game guy since he arrived.
Minnesota thought they'd be better.
These are the key issues for the flames.
We're talking about other things that we've got distracted.
Focus on this.
We can't have St. Louis or San Jose falling apart.
No.
Right?
We won't stand for it.
Can you imagine if St. Louis came in and scooped up our pick?
Can't have it.
Scooped up our pick?
Scoop.
Scoop.
They scooped all four points there last year.
Right?
Like we can't allow, like focus on the important things, please.
Eyes on the prize, fellow.
Wranglers had a good night.
They blanked the defending Calder Cup champions in the American League from last season in Abbotsford.
And it's a first H.L. Career goal.
Let's have a look.
See you.
Now Canbite steals in the attacking zone.
Karen's able to get it back.
Rangler's taking in transition.
Kierens to FERC in the Abbotsford zone.
He'll stop and set it up.
Under a minute to go on the power play.
Bruce Devich.
To the left wing, Stromgen working in.
Backdoor feed shot.
And they score.
What a setup.
And on the business end is Sunniyev.
He's got his first.
I understand you have first pro goal.
Congrats.
Did you want to whiteboard that de-coverage?
There was a few
HL plays there.
Probably reasons.
They're not in the NHL.
But congrats to...
God, kids love to just stare at the puck.
It is just the most...
Can you back that up, Jack?
It's got to be a lot like phones.
The forward winger on the top of your...
Just out at the blue line here.
Are you killing a...
Oh, you're just...
Oh, you're out there.
Oh, dear.
You did not take the pass lane away, did you?
Hey, I tried to get my stick.
Did you?
Nope.
Oh, that's in.
Oh, yeah.
Stupid.
Is that my guy?
I took the penalty.
Is that my guy?
God bless.
I got to get the penalty.
I can't get blamed as much.
Zing,
congrats on your first,
make him any more.
Sunni of you,
he of course played at UMass last year.
First process.
Mm-hmm.
Marngle.
It's keep moving.
It was a great night for Cona Boudard.
As you heard from noodles.
36, Matthew Bartaby.
Nudels had a great seat for an entertainment.
a game last night and from arguably
one of the best performances from Connor Bardard in the
NHL, let's watch.
With a Popperkonsky switches with
Terravina on this top unit, so he's up there
now with control across here.
Zing.
Rick Ball.
Good old friend, Rick Ball.
Love to see it. This is wobbling a bit.
Don't matter. Shelf.
It's where you put it.
Bring the sound back out. There's only one spot you can
shoot there. There's only one place to put it right.
Skates the puck in, but up the side.
He's released.
Who's the D that gets posterized?
Watch this toe drag.
It's not post-draised when you just shoot it.
Well, how about when the goal, the defender's stick,
you just take it rid of it.
And walk him, though, in fairness.
It's just walked around.
This is a shot as well.
So you get another angle of this one.
Can't let you go till you buy a chapeau.
The, uh, the Newdler was talking about his commitment to being,
great shape. He worked on his skating all summer. One of the things that popped up,
he did not have elite speed. Already the number is showing the foot speed is better than last year.
The shot was always there. I'll tell you what. I'm not sure Linus ever saw it. Zing,
that's three. Lienis. That's raining hats, as you noted.
Hoof. That's in the right spot. He was good.
Also, good thing they didn't trade him, I guess. Right?
I would have driven.
Yeah.
I don't know what Colin Roy of a second.
Cool.
We got next another highlight from last night.
Oh, it's a deal.
Thomas Harley,
they team candidate of the defenseman.
How do you like 10.587 million a year
max term,
eight years,
Jim Nill gets business done.
I like it,
but I hate Dallas.
That is big money for a very good deal.
This is what Thomas is saying.
Oh, I'll stay,
you've got to pay me 10.
How much 84.7 million?
Whee.
I guess so.
Tax,
no?
All right, fine.
Wow.
A lot of money.
You think that's a lot of money?
Well,
he's not the only guy
that got paid in the last 24 hours.
How about eight years for Logan Cooley?
Right?
You want to guess?
Eight.
Ten.
Even.
Boom.
Sticker shock is real, fellas.
The cap is skyrocketing.
If you're going to buy eight years,
you might be leaving a guy
in a $150 million cap land at the end.
Ten for Kooli.
who's after a great start for the Mahmout.
Not to say he isn't worth it.
I think it would be a great deal.
As you were kind of talking about with the Sanderson's kid,
Logan Cooley has played 168 NHL games and has signed a 10 million times eight deal.
Per, yeah, exactly.
80 million.
That'll be all right.
Third overall in 2022 was Logan Cooley.
Looks good.
Thomas Harley 18th overall in 2019.
So good players can be found in that mushy middle of the draft.
As for tonight, just one game.
That is it.
I liked last night with all the games.
That was good.
We get a bubble rematch.
Remember when Columbus had Corpusallo and Merz Lickens upside down?
950 or something?
I'm sure that it'll be vivid and front and center
and the memories of the players taking part tonight.
There's Werenski and Matthews.
Second half of a back-to-back for the Leafs and Columbus, of course,
because all the teams played last night.
This is your only game tonight.
once a month they should do that frozen frenzy.
They can also put it on TV in Canada.
I think that'd be a really good idea.
I think there's some hockey fans in this country.
Yeah.
Or is that too common?
I don't want to offend anyone.
It's weird because when they do it,
you give them shit for doing it and say it doesn't work
and it only works in football.
And then when they don't do it,
if you give them shit,
it doesn't have to be as good as Red Zone.
But if you're going to try it,
at least put it in front of the eyeballs of fans.
Not sure how many would have been watching last night,
given the circumstance.
That's fair.
But again, that's last.
Yes, we're not.
other circumstance.
Exactly.
You've got a lot of dates
in the calendar.
You can do this.
I believe they'll do it.
Maybe Gary knew.
Gary knew.
He knew the least.
Blue Js are going to be.
Gary could have actually looked at it.
I guess it's got to be in October.
Yeah.
Anyway.
It's probably the Mets and the Dodgers.
So we'll just do this anyway.
Nope.
Okay.
Let's get to it.
You mentioned the baseball game.
There was a big swing last night.
Superstar against Superstar.
Otani was looking filthy early.
Literally a big swing,
eh, Rhett?
Big swing.
This sweep.
This sweeper was devastating for everyone else.
Vladdy said I fouled off his fastball.
I knew I wasn't getting another fastball,
so I sat on the sweeper and watched this thing fly.
This is en francais.
Good, because we're multicultural.
Yeah, that's...
He's born in Montreal,
and we missed the Expos,
so that's just for all the Expos fans.
Is that what it is?
I don't have it watched that.
I feel like you just realized it.
No, I forgot to tease it as French.
I like the French girl.
Ladi's a stud, man.
And Otani was great.
That was...
Shoveler was worried about Vladdy's gate.
An awkward gate.
Yeah?
On the home run trotter or else?
Did he have a hitch in his giddy?
Yes.
Yes.
Whatever he's doing, he's doing it right.
He now leads the franchise and postseason home runs with seven.
Not breaking.
I'm stating facts about a game last night.
That's his seventh franchise record.
Like it was Baltista and Carter had six.
It was crazy about watching that.
It looks like it's such a quick and like hard swing.
Yes.
It was on an 85 mile an hour.
Sweet bird.
Like, it was, it's still, God.
It's how Dino used to do it back.
Back in the old, uh, Brandon Men's League.
Yeah, I had a hitch in my giddy up.
Cost me the big league career.
There is your Fox graphic.
I don't know why the bird is taking down a palm tree, but okay.
While the game five tonight and the Js continue to hit monster home runs,
it was Vladie last night.
What is the Dodger?
The do you're from Brooklyn.
I don't know.
What were you dodging in Brooklyn?
War dodging?
It's not a draft.
The draft Dodgers are in Nelson, not in Brooklyn.
Interesting.
They tended to have a kind of a bad rap.
The old draft dodgers.
Or they were ahead of their time.
They didn't like the government.
Should have known back then.
Where's Springer on there?
Is he on there?
Springer was not in the lineup last night.
Howard, Dino.
And he strained a bleak MRI after game three.
I doubt we'll see him tonight for.
Game five.
Shoot that shit up.
It'd be fine.
He's got some soreness.
It allows Bo to deage, which is a better spot.
I don't know if he's got a tender.
Maybe he's got a tickle.
He's the backland of bleak strain.
They still playing with the island.
They continue to hit clutch home runs.
If it feels like there's been a lot of them,
well, yeah, it's the most in Major League history.
Four go-ahead home runs while trailing in the same postseason.
Four for the Jays.
Yankees had three times last year.
Astros in 22.
I think they beat the Dodgers out here.
Pretty fun run.
for Blue Jays fans.
Again, nobody thought they'd win the division,
never mind, get to the World Series.
Most have them in third, fourth, or fifth in the Yale East.
Fun run.
Thank you, Jack.
The Dodgers.
Jack?
From the early days in Brooklyn where they were called the trolley Dodgers.
They had to dodge the streetcars that crisscrossed the city in the early 1900s.
The name stuck and they just shortened it to the Dodgers.
It's like what we have to do in Mardaloop.
All the trolleys?
Yeah.
It's front and, yeah, the back.
So busy down here, yeah.
Huh.
Great job, Jack.
There used to be Charles.
I like somebody.
That's a great.
If you could do that that quickly, why does everything else?
That's a great question.
You do a family question every night.
Now, you used to collect CDs and cassettes.
That's right, Ryan.
Now, Dean, you used to collect, yeah, I sure.
Because Jack's too young.
I only who's ever seen a cassette.
This was one of the memorabilia items from the Js in the mid-90s when they went back to back.
Let's have a listen.
Hey, fans.
This is the Blue Jays.
album with 13 great Blue Jays song.
You'll get Sonny Jays, the Blue Jop,
James is the top, and the ballad is Todd Hanky.
You can bring him in now, but is it
you been better later?
The Blue Jays album with words for every song
so you can sing along.
Sam's the Blue Jays album supports a great con.
We're even giving a buck to the variety kids.
Where do I get this?
A number.
Record on wheels.
Zellers, Grand and Toy and Music World.
1-800, write down your credit card number and mail it to us.
This was a different...
You still 20 bucks then?
Jeez.
Yeah, it's...
Use my club Zed points.
NFL, we got a game tomorrow night.
Lamar Jackson sounds like he's back.
So he's 100% of practice yesterday.
They got Miami who looked awful until they weren't last week,
and they destroyed Atlanta.
Huh.
Tough to figure out.
Jack's fear of the Ravens is growing.
It is growing.
It is growing.
It is growing.
I don't think you should be worried about the ravens.
You should just be recognized.
I am worried about my own team.
Oh, yes.
Well, they're going to be 9 and 8.
I don't see the problem.
See how he jumped in?
You know exactly where you're going to stop you're right in your tracks.
Yeah.
We've got a semi-final Saturday in the CFL this weekend, early game.
Winnipeg and the crossover out to face La Alouette.
He loves the French.
Yeah, he does.
We.
May we.
then the afternooner
slash evening game. It'll be
330 Mountain, 2.30
in BC where they're expecting 30,000
people in it does. They've already sold over 20,000
seats. Leo's
stamps, go get them red and white.
And I think I brought this up yesterday. I have it on
good authority that the BC Lions
shaken in their boots.
Their boats? Yeah.
The rain boots out there this time are shaken in their boots.
Really?
Because they beat them twice?
They did, yeah.
So now they feel like they've used up all their good ju-ju.
That's what I'm wondering.
Here's the thing.
You're going to adjust the winning game plan?
No, they think they got it out.
Figuring it out and are they adjusting?
Yeah, they are.
We went on a bit of a buy and then we won some games.
We feel like we're feeling good.
We're getting healthy.
We're feeling good.
So go ahead.
Take us lightly, you lions.
You turkey lions.
Yeah.
Finally got a cup.
Cavary FC is going to be in action as well.
Playoffs, they will head out to Forge Stinking Hamilton.
It's okay, Ryan.
Winner goes to the final, which will be hosted in Ottawa.
They might have stayed at least for a while.
They're doing the flames thing.
They're going to greater Toronto up to Ottawa.
Let's do that, fellas.
Go get it.
401 win last weekend.
Biggest win in CPL playoff history.
Three goal margin.
Got a set of wheels for you.
Looks good, sounds good, feels good, plays good.
Let's go.
Yes.
Well, Tom.
Yes.
Is this called like soapbox car racing?
What do they call us, Dean?
So much macho man stuff, AI out there right now.
Are you sure Jack?
I'm showing Jack the other day.
He's like yelling at Mr. Rogers or Mr. Rogers neighborhood.
I'm getting a lot of Tupac in my street.
I'm like, this guy is maybe he is alive.
I'm sitting therein a lot these days and places.
The Red Bull's soapbox races on YouTube are wonderful.
This is well done.
It's a paper mashet.
How do you get that going?
That's a lot of work, a lot of hours, that kind of time or talent.
Yeah.
At least he's wearing a helmet.
Oh, yeah.
Safety first.
Finally, I've got a new culinary treat for you, fellas.
It is a pickle dog.
It's not a puky one.
It's a yummy one.
We start with a pickle.
There's a hot dog in the middle.
It's hollowed out.
Let's go.
There we go.
We drop it in the batter.
We roll it in Panko.
We deep fry it and peanut butter for the sauce.
It's the stupidest question in the world.
That looks amazing.
I would have seven of these.
That looks amazing.
Jack would quit at half because he'd be full.
Yeah, I met one of Jack's buddies on the weekend.
He said Jack's a real.
I don't know.
Is he a wuss?
Real was.
Is he a softy?
Really?
Which one did you meet?
Don't worry about it.
Jack.
We were shit talking you for a 20 minutes.
We're at the ring.
It's not important.
Jack.
Battered.
Jack, let it go.
All right.
Jack, back to me.
Please.
There's your pinned report on this Wednesday,
October 29th for our good friends at Villageonda and Villageonda.
com located in the Northwest Auto Mall to dealership for life.
Pre-owned or new.
Lots of units.
on the lot, check them out.
Peanut butter sauce, you think?
So good. Peanut butter works on everything.
Kind of had me until the peanut butter sauce.
I would try the peanut butter sauce,
but I don't know if that's first.
I'd have to try it.
My first, where my brain went first,
when I saw that, I was like, okay, yes.
Now take the stick, put that in a, in a hot dog bun
with some cheese, perfect.
So if you're having hot dog and pickle in every bite,
or just give me the flames,
the sweet.
I'll just dip.
Yep.
I'm made it.
I like peanut butter.
Peanut butter works with everything.
I don't do near enough cheese sauce in the house.
Do you,
you know?
I went to your house once.
There was all kinds of cheese that day.
It was basically all cheese.
Dipper had to show up.
You know what?
You're going to think I'm a liar.
The last time you were at my house,
it was a cheese fiesta.
It was a cheese fiesta.
Yeah, we don't do
A lot of shoes.
Fondue tomorrow?
Yeah, fondue.
They want me to tell you about this,
so I guess I will.
Do it, Dean.
You're a professional.
Let them know.
I'm glad you're in the no.
Well, not really, but.
We really struggling to find it.
Well, it just came out.
It's right now.
What kind of pressure do they put on you?
I know.
Day off, Jasper Pond Hockey Tournament.
It's coming back in January.
They want you to be there.
Get ready for an unforgettable hockey.
weekend in the heart of the Rockies, the Jasper Pond Hockey Tournament,
Fairmont, Jasper Park Lodge, three days of pond hockey, fun, and community on Lake
Mildred, a little four-on-four on the ODR teams of four to eight players battling for
the coveted Jasper Cup. Beyond the ice, enjoy a weekend of live watch parties and prizes,
off-ice activities, there's stuff going on in the village. It's all part of the big weekend.
And the Nation Network crew are going to be there.
professional hockey alumni, it says here.
Spots are limited.
Register your team today.
Experience hockey where the game meets the Rockies.
Go to nationgear.com.
It doesn't say that on the graphic.
Definitely should.
Just me,
you want me to register.
So how do I do that?
I guess you're going to make me work for it and go find the fucking website.
Why are we so fucking stupid?
Nationgear.ca.
Don't include me in that.
What does that look like to you?
That looks like a trophy.
What does it say on?
Jasper Cup champions
24 Jasper Alberta
Conroy phone him
He put that team together
He's champions
And taking a lot of heat
While building that roster
You did, yep
There wasn't a whole bunch of belief
In the silky pause man deep was there
Now did you rest on your laurels
Going into last year?
No, we were good last year
You lost a great team from Vernon
Stinking Aaron Shepers
The former Pentictor
Fort St. John Flyer
They were good
They were good
Fort McLeod or Fort St. John?
It really is one of those things where it's like winning the tournament and the trophy is great.
But you just have to beat Oilers Nation and it's a great tournament.
That's a prize.
It's like the season for the flames.
They beat the Oilers three times.
Lose the rest.
I'm okay with that.
Gravy.
Gravy on the pickle?
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Gravy.
Yes.
Cool.
Mm-hmm.
Come join us.
It's not boring.
January 23 to 25 is when the event takes place.
You'd be surprised at how many beers you can drink.
out of this if you really really
I've never had a championship
golf teams.
Well, I blame your GMs.
Not your fault.
I do.
I actually sent you a text not long ago.
I know.
I got thinking about that because at some point
the Oilers Nation guys are going to load up.
They're going to be tired of you and all of that.
Tired of me.
Just your gloating.
Possible.
Yeah, I know.
Wouldn't gloat.
Wouldn't want to rub it in.
No.
Those losers from Emberton.
Not you.
Nationgear.ca.
If you would like to be part of the gloating.
Yeah.
Send us your resume.
Get your team in.
It's a great idea.
Take some videos.
Send us the link to your lead prospect.
So what do you guys?
What do you do for Flames Nation?
I do shut the fuck up.
That's what I do.
Don't you worry about what I do for Flames Nation.
You know what I do?
I score a shit ton of goals.
You know what?
I get sore arms because we've been doing this all weekend.
Scoring goals on your sorry asses.
Okay.
We love Bet 365.
Of course we do.
It's the best.
They've been our gaming partner.
for a long time now.
They're a tremendous partner.
They are the very best.
They have the best app.
Everything about Bet365 is the very best.
Whatever your bet is, it's never ordinary at Bet365.
Never.
Download the app, get in in the game.
I love it.
Sundays when you're live betting, you're watching the games.
You're getting on top of it.
You're watching.
So what's your, what's your team?
You know what I got?
My team is Bet 365.
That's who I got today.
That's what's got my juices flowing.
Red zone.
365.
You got playoff baseball.
We have found,
I guess what I'm saying is we have found a way somehow
to make it seem like it's a very difficult exercise
to go on Bet365 and enjoy winning.
We are in a real slum.
Fellas.
Last year, Jack had a great year.
You've been, I'm always good.
Well, you're very confident.
You did the bounce back week last week.
Yeah, two weeks.
Yeah, two weeks.
Yeah.
because I just went and I picked every game.
I was, what, a 500 or a game all?
You're 8 and 6.
8 and 7.
It just showed itself to you, the clarity.
So you know what I did?
I thought, okay, I've got my groove back.
You did.
I'm ready to settle back in and just be smart and be real,
real good at it.
Week 8, right?
Is that where we were last week?
Already.
It's a lot of red.
Ooh, Dino.
Rets above 500.
I'm above 500.
I'm proud of you, guys.
Let's go.
Let's go.
three games under is above 500 for the week for the week
I see more green than red that's all you want week to week I don't have a time machine
I can't go back to week two and change my picks let's go how many games this week are there
30 games this week and you guys aren't allowed to pick the bills because that's my team so
that should be obsolete that was our obsolete when you go on 365 when you go on 365 you can
pick any game you want there's no rules where rec can't stop you from picking the bills I got
scatabood in the Giants game that's too
have me too. Nice pick with the Titans. I thought that coach in Miami was trying to get himself fired. What the hell are you doing me?
I'm just done. So it's a low over under and they're getting two plus touchdowns. I'm just going to take the points. You know what it was? What was the favorites were 11 and 2 last week. Chucky week. 11 and 2. That's the most success that favorites have had in 40 years. Whoa. So keep that in mind this week because I know what that's it. I'm going to
going to school. Great.
It's. All right. All right. All right.
But 11 and that's, see, we're taking points. Didn't work out.
A lot of times that you're sharp taking points. Everyone wants the favorites.
I also. I was a little worried about my Ravens pick.
Or don't hurt old.
Wow.
Yeah, especially when old, uh, Snoop, don't worry.
Lamar.
Lamar back this week.
Oh, push tomorrow. Packers. The Falcons was that was had, that was tough for you guys to watch.
Now, in the middle of all this doom and gloom, we have a three way.
tie for first amongst the in the idiot bowl here on barburn.
Three of us tied at three games under 500.
Jack, Brett, myself.
I don't know.
It's winning percentage.
Jack, just calculate that in your brain.
Dean, what do you?
You know, 10 under.
You're right.
You suck.
I thought I was being, I was taking points.
Give me the points.
And I felt good about it.
Bears had won four in a row.
I got scatabood.
and the Titans, it's a no-fly zone.
We're going there.
I can't, I can't touch it this way.
You can take the Chargers, if you want.
And I can't talk to you about the Chargers,
because every time you say,
oh, this is what the chargers are,
then it goes the wrong way.
Jack?
Steelers.
No, Bueno.
No, bueno.
Aaron Rogers back to Green Bay.
Didn't happen.
Bills look good, though.
Same with the Chiefs.
I might ride those wagons for a while.
On the freaking Niners, I thought that was the lock for them to win that game.
CJ Strapped played pretty well.
I watched a bit of it.
Houston's tough to figure out.
They are tough to figure out.
What a great rookie year.
Make the playoffs last year.
And then it's just like, what?
You're not good at anything?
How are you not good at anything?
And this week, it's like, how do, how do you know?
What do you know?
Those Texans, it's okay, they're a little bit better.
Yeah.
At home to the Denver Broncos.
Broncos have been kind of a slob knocker here.
They're coming from behind.
They're putting up points.
RJ Harvey had a week last week.
Yeah.
The rook.
The Texans are one and a half point favorites at home against the Broncos.
So you're thinking, I'm going to be sharp.
I'm going to take the Broncos.
I'm going to take defense.
Stroud has been okay with that defense.
The Indianapolis Colts have been a wagon.
Yes.
In Pittsburgh to play the Steelers who look a little.
Oh, Jack.
Jackie Bay.
How are the nerves?
How are the nerves?
I'm not going to watch a single second.
What?
I'll be at the game with you guys.
Oh, geez.
You'll be on your phones.
It's 2025 here.
Colts are three point favorites on the road in Pittsburgh.
I might take them too.
Right?
They've been great.
But what is it?
Can Pittsburgh stop the run, Jack?
They can't stop anything.
Perfect.
It's all Colts.
Jonathan Taylor's having an MVP caliber season.
If you want a big number,
you want to find those points that like how hasn't been working for me the carolina panthers are in green bay packers 13 point home favorites
well points dino feels like too many doesn't it feels like a lot feels like a lot the saints with shuck at quarterback or whatever it rams they got
shumer they're in l.a to play the rams the rams the rams 14 point home favorites a rams d was a hot pickup in fantasy this week because it's
a rookie quarterback, I believe, making his first
NFL star. I should do that. Are they gone?
They're gone.
You'll be waivers yesterday.
Cincinnati's the cost to be last week.
Yeah, that's one.
It's four. Tyler Shaw.
Jets.
Shog Shogh Shah,
Shoh, Shaw.
Shammie.
Swami. Samson.
He, right off.
Okay.
But I have a,
I guess we'll have to do it tomorrow because they're,
yeah, we don't know what we're doing for a show on Friday because we have a plane
to catch.
Let's get up early and come in.
Start.
Want to come in early?
Yeah, let's get it going.
That'd be fine.
Yeah, I'd be fine doing that.
Got to leave the house anyway.
Got to be up.
Can sleep on the plane?
Yep.
Sleep when we're dead.
So I, but I have my strategy figured out for picks.
Officer George, have you got to last resort?
I did, I did something.
It kind of worked.
I was over 500.
Went back to.
Are you doing the full slate again, aren't you?
Can't talk about it?
Oh, my God.
in due time, Ryan.
Tomorrow.
Ryan.
Or on Friday morning,
however we feel about it.
Yeah, okay.
So those are our picks again.
Do you have the line for the Thursday nighter?
Sorry,
because you went through a bunch.
I feel badly about it because if for bet three,
six, five,
they must be thinking,
you guys are making this look like it's
rocket side.
It's not spread.
It should be a point to us.
You can, yeah, if you just,
there's the right side.
There's two sides.
Yeah.
How do you?
keep ending on the wrong why you keep flipping tails and calling heads life choices team the ravens with lamar we
believe yeah in miami to play the dolphins the ravens on the road seven and a half point favorites
i would be higher that all day yep yep yep a couple weeks ago raven's healthier and they got their
mop can i'd bet it right now if i see you know so are you so you're not buying into anything that's
happening in nope miami no was you talking
well again they looked they looked like they were going to be
against it.
Allegated two weeks ago.
Yeah.
Atlanta's the most unsurious team in the other.
I agree.
Atlanta's a bunch of frauds.
I don't know how.
They beat your bills are up,
but they were frauds that date.
They were frauds that day.
They just gave it to Bijon a thousand times.
Yeah, the bills aren't going to stop.
Frauds and phonies.
I got,
I don't have time for either of those.
No.
You're straight shooter, you know.
That's what I am.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Line of work.
Did you ever get showing?
up in like a video
next day. Suts
or one of your coaches? I threw
my gatoried bottle at the garbage
as a sign of go.
Your hat. Yeah, next clip. Let's move on.
Oh, what do we
do?
Outta boy.
Oh, message
sent, message received. Yeah.
Had a bit of a scowl
at each other. Yeah.
Or as, as noodles said, you had a
lip going. Like, Nassum's got
bit of a lip going. A lip is more downhearted. I was more. Yeah. I didn't watch the,
this game with full intensity given me it. J's and all that. But like, I thought Nazme had some
jump early. Like that's a starter. He's a darter. He's a darter. Yeah. He's not a burner.
Okay. He's a darter. No, Nazan was good. I was, you can tell when he's invested.
And I still think that he is. Oh, yeah. But also reality is setting him, as you said, for all these
guys. When it sets in, regardless of what the calendar is, it sucks. It is worse when it is
October. Just like when we said this team wouldn't be good last year and the standing said
they were, we just kind of had to say, look, maybe we're wrong on this group. The opposite's
happening now. They think they're good, but every time they look at the standings, they're reminded
they're in last place. So we were wrong, but at the same time, looking back now, we were right.
We're just ahead of our time, dude. We said they weren't.
We're going to be good.
We're good.
Time heals all the way.
We just said, just be patient.
Out of our time.
We'll be right eventually.
Yeah.
And now here we are.
Jesus.
It feels good to be right.
I can't believe the show's free.
All this wisdom we spew every day.
It's unbelievable.
Wow.
Time for the super chat.
You, as you watch,
you comment, you put money into the YouTube chat.
We take the money, get it to the U centers of Calgary.
And then at this point of the show, we show your comments.
We react to them.
It's like we're having a,
relationship by way of the
it's a back and forth internet.
That's an extra marital.
Careful.
Handsome Dan.
Oh, three goals, 30 bucks.
Hansen vacation rentals, $30.
He's doing 10 bucks a goal.
All he here?
The boys look like they're having more fun.
Scoring goals is fun.
Ret, can you tell us about
the most fun goal you scored?
Oh, we know this one.
We're heading to the scene of the crime this week.
No.
What?
That was easy.
Top shelf on Briss Gallow, please.
That was fun.
Coming out of the penalty box.
New Year's Eve, Dino.
New Year's Eve.
Big party planned after we're going to steer, baby.
Where's this?
Me'em.
F-in' ref gives me.
You hooking.
This guy.
I don't hook.
What?
I don't hold.
It's not a cheater?
No.
A liar?
You son of a...
You're not a fraud or a phony?
No.
God damn it.
I'm...
Honest player.
Anyway, the boys do a hell of a job.
Killing off that penalty.
For the Red Marty B-Rong.
Just kicking out left pad, stacks, left and
and it's real good.
And the boys are also smart enough to realize
the retro is about to step out of the box.
It's New Year's Eve.
The doubt is going freaking wild.
Yeah.
Wild.
I don't care who you are, Arters,
everybody. You ain't stopping this.
For a, back in the back of the net.
Bam, baby.
Tell us.
First rounds on retro.
And then we had a king of the hill on the snowpilot.
I'd steer.
Nice.
Wow.
I was so shit scared that I was going to have to do a penalty shot.
Because someone was on my back.
I'm like, I have to score.
When I went down and I wasn't sure if it was in, I'm like, do I fake an injury now?
Or do I like there?
There was no way.
It was the cheer.
The cheer of the crowd got you.
I don't know what goal life.
He limping off the ice.
He's taking off his player's helmet.
You knew something.
You went right.
I can never out a good lid.
Game winner, Dino.
Wow.
Never a doubt.
That's not ruining party nights.
Just won at 24.
Yeah.
And the fans would have felt the same way.
You know how we feel?
Oh, it's in.
It's in.
Invitability.
This guy goes.
Yeah.
They're getting up from their seats.
I could find that on YouTube.
That's Jan 3rd.
That's not going in.
But it is party night.
And that's retro.
This is going on.
Yeah.
I'm messing this up.
Everyone needs their own incentive and their own carrot.
Yeah.
To really dig in and get it done.
And for you, it was the steer.
Steaks and booze.
And the boys.
Yeah.
I scored on the breakway and was King of the Hill.
You won both?
Jeez, wow.
Game winner and King of the Hill.
There'd be some big hills and Buffet.
What a way to spend here?
Fellas, you're looking at a winner here.
It's awesome.
I love it.
Thank you, handsome, Dan.
Thank you, handsome, Dan.
R&B, Pinder, why a couple years away from trading, Wager?
If this is a rebuild, it should be moving assets, not just guys in the back nine.
Trade him with Nas and Raz.
He's got a full no move, R&B.
So if you go try to trade him, the NHL Central Registry is going to say,
actually, sir, this player has a no move clause.
You are not allowed to trade him without his permission.
And then they'd have to fire Conroy for being in.
Yeah, find him draft picks like your senators did.
Pure Dorian.
You could ask, though, R&B.
You could definitely run it by the agent.
Don't go right to the plur and remember.
I'm not saying don't do it.
I'm not saying it can happen.
What I'm saying is you've got a front burner issue with Erasmus.
I would deal with that first.
Oh, that's a show.
Yes.
Jack,
great show.
It will.
Wow, he's ready.
You're just excited to be going.
I'm so excited.
Just excited to go.
What do you want us to say at your celebration of life?
Let's give this out of the way and on the record because we're going to remember a lot.
Just sell people at a good time.
How do you want to be remembered?
Because we can frame this up wherever you like it.
That I went out the right way.
Okay.
Well, you don't know that.
There's different ways of just because you're in a fun city.
We'll go really.
We'll tell them that you went out the right way.
Yeah, we can.
That's a pact we can make here.
We're full of shit.
We're a bunch of frauds and phonies.
