Oh, hi, buddies. Welcome.
Good day.
Barn burner on a Monday.
Hi, Dean.
I'm not sure there's much better.
Friday's are pretty good.
I'm sure, yeah, things are.
God, you look good there.
Yeah?
It does look good.
Fresh.
Yep.
Good to see you.
Good to be seen, as they say.
Yeah, real good.
I brought some coffee for you.
Yeah.
It's gross.
All right.
Bad coffee?
No, I'm not sure.
He just,
he likes to wheel through
Davey Kion's on the way in.
Yeah.
What kind of coffee is it?
So our buddy Chad that used to manage
the last best has gone off on his own.
Chad.
Chad.
And started a coffee roasting company.
Uh-huh.
And he's done very well with it.
And he's always loved the show.
And so when we started,
he said, can I set you up with coffee machine here?
So he's got all kinds of different blends.
You ever know what's like a variety?
pack.
Yeah.
I think we're on the crickside today.
Crickside.
Over on the crick side.
Crick side.
Yeah.
The machine makes funny noises.
Yeah, it's like grumbling and boiling water and gurgling.
Yeah.
Kind of probably what like Jabba the Hut's stomach would sound like after it would be.
Yeah.
It would be one of those things.
Yeah.
It'll be quiet.
And then all of a sudden,
and it just runs nonstop.
I don't know what the power bill is here.
I'm turning it off on the weekends now.
It's got to be.
It's got to be through the roof.
What's going on, Rhett?
How are we doing?
It's been raining and cool here.
Feels cool.
That's shit.
I got to chill.
I'm a sweater.
I do need a sweater.
I'm actually shivery.
I've got another shirt here.
I might throw it on.
Do you want to go?
Get a shirt?
Nah.
I don't want you chilly.
I don't want you catching your death.
Here we are.
Like two weeks from the longest day of the year for Sunrat that you're still chilly.
I can't wait for the summer solstice.
We have a big solstice party?
You don't get naked and robberies pool?
What are we doing?
Speak.
We had a birthday party yesterday, and I just sent eight kids over to Rob Ray's house.
Where you go.
Go ahead of Mr. Rob.
Was he home?
No.
No.
That's the better move.
It's one thing if the guy's home and he's kind of like, hey, mind if I send kids over?
It's another to just do it when he's not around.
He wasn't home.
Yeah.
I think he must have some side of security camera, though, because he was like,
Not the hell.
What was it going on over here?
Yeah.
Did they,
uh,
did they leave a bunch of chocolate bars in the,
uh,
in the,
uh, in the deep end or?
Yeah.
Floaters.
Yeah.
Floters.
Hey.
Oh,
Henry's.
So ho Henry's in the old pool.
Well,
geez, guys,
you know,
it's a game day.
I don't know if you know it's game day.
It's,
but it's game day.
All right.
Yeah.
Do we have game days?
There's fewer games now.
Just as many days, though.
Every day's a day.
Okay.
Each day is a day, but not every day is a game day.
During the regular season, we only have game days when our team plays.
Yeah.
I'm open to debate.
Jack, what do you think?
Is it a game day or is that just for the flames when we're,
flame season?
Just the flames.
It's not a game.
I don't think we should tell me to put helmets on.
Folks, it's not a game day.
It's just a regular day.
It's a Monday.
I hear in Buffalo a little chilly, get a sweater.
Put on your sweater.
It's not a game day.
What if we said it's game day, but no help?
helmets. Only helmets on for home team stuff.
Yeah, it's, you know what? For some, it's a game day.
Mm-hmm.
You can prepare accordingly. It may mean nothing to you.
Whatever you got to do to play well.
You may find somebody who's what kind of a game. What do you mean?
Well, the Stanley Cup, oh, I don't really, I'm not really into hockey.
For them, they're not putting helmets on. No.
They're not doing. They're not going to do it. They're not going to do it.
You know who else isn't going to put a helmet on tonight?
Cody Cici.
Cody Cici is not going to put a helmet on tonight.
That stings.
You must be really hurt, eh?
Yeah.
No.
Hurt feelings.
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah, hurt feelings.
You are healthy.
That is going to hurt feelings.
Healthy.
There's Frank Saravelli.
Frank, you're going to join us about 15 minutes.
Frank Baum.
He's got some time for us before he hops a jet to his favorite city in the world,
Edmonton.
Man, he's time here.
At morning skate, Darnell Nurse with Vinnie DeHarnay appears.
Cody C.C.
may be a healthy,
scratch. This is what baffled us because like adding Adam Henrique isn't a bad thing.
But when you had limited assets, limited cap space and essentially one first to go get what you
wanted at the deadline, they chose a Swiss Army knife third liner rather than a second pair
defenseman. And here you are now playing Darnel Nurse on the third pair and scratching
Cody Cici. We saw a dramatic need for them to upgrade their top four defense. They chose not to
Walker?
Sean Walker.
Walker moved.
Went to Colorado.
Walker, Texas Ranger.
That's the thing we don't.
Could you have had him?
Chris Tanna.
Could you have had him?
Could you have him?
The Tanna was probably harder.
Flames probably did not want TANN of going north.
Yeah, I mean, if you want to overpay, sure, but you're right.
They wouldn't have got them at the same price as someone else would have.
Well, and, you know, what a quit.
Flames probably could have gotten Cody Cici in that deal if the rumors were accurate.
Are they looking for six, seven, eight defensemen?
I feel like they got a thousand.
Like there was a CC TANF deal to be made.
You just had to eat the CC money.
That's right.
Which is one more year left.
Too much for a guy that's being healthy scratched in the Stanley Cup final.
It's ups and downs.
Is it all CC or is the guy that he was out there with?
They just haven't been good together.
And I don't think either of them are second prayer defensemen at this point.
Were you shocked to see they were back together?
Because I was.
I feel like it's kind of a common knowledge.
McDavid where is 97?
Yeah.
Skinner lets in the first shot of the game.
Sure.
C.C. and Nurse, tire fire.
Right.
I thought that was kind of,
so it's weird that the coach,
the hockey whisperer there, Chuck Knoblock for all the praise he's been getting.
Yeah.
Slap those two back together.
Is it a Broberg thing?
When he was throwing a first or is that someone else I was thinking of.
No, it was yips.
Yeah, the imps.
Couldn't throw to first.
He keeps putting back C.C. and nurse.
It's tough when you're a shortstop.
Getting the first baseman,
it's kind of key part of the position defensively.
Can you be a D.
This is going to suck then.
Oh, you don't.
hit them for shit. Um, so I mean, we're having, we're taking some, uh, taking a piss, but no,
but you're right. He's been complimented on a lot of really big decisions in the series that have
gone well. Putting that pair back together, he's tried it a couple times. It hasn't gone
long. It's kind of like for, for him, though, it's when you've got a small room and really
just kind of a couple pieces of decent furniture. Yeah. You can shuffle them around as,
uh, that doesn't really work. Uh, okay, well, we got a comfy chair and then we got an end table that
kind of friggin wobbles and that we got a
you know we got that one's got bedbugs in it
there's only so much he can do I just thought
and I wonder what have you thought of
Brobert Brett since he's come in because he's the kid
he couldn't play
is to those two go back together
as protection for him is I don't
I don't know why you'd put that pairing back together
but I don't I didn't understand it either to be honest with you
Broberg's been fine
it speaks to what Pinder said though
they don't have
they needed that defenseman.
They have two tough four defensemen and they might win a cup despite that.
That's how overwhelming having two of the best five players on earth is.
It's just, it's felt like a huge miss at the time.
How do you not upgrade that decor?
And if it goes poorly, it will be a glaring swing and a miss because they do think that
they're overcoming it, not.
Yeah, they're surviving it.
They're not thriving with it.
And we're giving them, we gave them a lot of praise last round to say, well,
played a certain way and they did this hence this hence the confusion as to why did you go back
to that right i don't like i don't get it you're playing good hockey and now what you've done
with cc coming out you've created confusion again for guys in a stanley cup final
when you didn't need to at what point did cc and nurse play well together they never really
have in the playoffs honestly yeah so i think someone attracted the last three posts
seasons and it's just like huge huge differential not in their favor and you'd made the switch
already you'd already yeah so what cool act to play with one and day and i played with the other then
they bring in broberg could when day honey struggled with dallas's speed that worked pretty darn
well they're giving him big minutes but i mean is it crazy to think they have two top four defensemen
that feels insane and maybe it's because you're up against the best team in the league or you're the best
and they're the second best.
So we're,
they're under the microscope.
But you're spending $11 million on two guys and one scratch.
You know,
there's a third pair.
Yeah,
it's,
I feel like,
because I'm,
obviously at home and Bouchard.
Excellent pair.
Excellent pair.
So you've got two.
Yeah.
And I like your third.
But I think if you get,
if you get a third,
you probably have four top four because it elevates.
Sure.
Yeah.
And if you get,
if you bring a Tenev type in,
he's going to make the guy next to play better,
for sure.
I was just looking that Joel Edmondson,
a third and a fifth.
Now,
I don't know what the,
what the Oilers have for picks there.
You weren't going to give up a first for Joel Edinson.
I also don't know how much is left there.
But, I mean, he was okay for the Leafs.
He came in there and played okay.
It's better than what they've got there right now.
But why weren't you after a walker?
Yeah.
What did he go for?
A hard top four.
Like, go look at the minutes played per game and go get a guy that plays 20 a night.
Yeah.
Now, that said, he wasn't very good for them in Colorado.
In Colorado. He was a huge disappointment.
Yeah.
they had him paired with, I think, Johnson on a third pair.
It wasn't really the role that he had in Philly.
He also looked good in the regular season before he didn't in the playoffs.
I don't know what to make it.
It is what it is.
To lament the past, let's not.
Let's not.
Is that my policy with the Oilers?
I've been digging up Shirelli extensions here trying to stay calm this week.
No, it's not what we do.
We don't stuff things in our backpack and carry them around for decades.
We didn't even mention it didn't go well for the Oilers in game one.
Did we tell the people that?
I think the people know, Rhett.
In a lot of ways, I think it did go well.
Yeah.
They looked really good.
Things, they got the start they wanted, roared out of the game.
I mean, they allowed one pretty quick, but yeah.
You don't think they had a good start?
I think they did.
It's just the way it was a five minutes in.
They're down one-nothing.
It wasn't, they've had a lot of starts with it up two-nothing five minutes in.
But yeah, no, they wouldn't play bad at all.
They played pretty well.
If you were, because it's, you want to survive the first few minutes when you're in the visiting ring.
It was the home team that had to survive as the Oilers came on.
The story of the game is, by no mistake, Sergey Brabrovsky.
He was unbbedbed.
believable. Robert.
As he improves the 13 and 5 with a 2.08 and a 915 save percentage through the playoffs.
A pair of shutouts in there as well, one of them coming on Saturday.
A couple breakways, some incredible and tight chances.
He does not get beat down low.
They have the graphic on the broadcast.
You know, like, was it 14 here, seven there?
And then like two or three at the bottom of the net.
It's like you watch him.
He reminds me to Jonathan Quick when you just, you're not going to get anything in the bottom half of the net.
He moves so well.
I was thinking about you again.
It's of your many takes over the years.
Yeah.
One of them, there might be some crow.
Is it going to be the oilers are poorly, you know, poorly developed and put together?
Yeah.
If they win or is it Bobrovsky's a horrible contract?
Well, I mean, it's, look, how many years are we into the seven-year deal?
Five?
Four.
Four or five or four?
There's been some really, really, really, really, really poor play.
And I think they've figured out how to use them.
I mean, they started last year in the playoffs of Alex Lyon.
He played down the stretch for them to get in.
They almost missed last year.
He gets hot and they go to the final.
I don't know that you're going to look over the course of the deal and say,
hey, we spent 70 million on this guy.
It was a slam dunk.
But if you fly a flag and he's your cons myth,
that was a hell of a good year for it.
It's been a very mixed bag for being honest about it.
But the last two springs, you've loved it.
It's what it is.
Is there any, is there any goalie that you look at and say he has been consistently
worth the value of his contract. Is there any,
there's how many players you can do that? No.
I mean, I think for skaters, there's a lot more.
Right. But the goal is particularly hard.
Even just look at Markstrom here. It's every other years.
But isn't it odd to think that
I'm trying to take noodle
side of this because a
goaltender making five
has to be the backbone of the team.
But if he makes,
he's not allowed any, but some other players
that's making five. If he doesn't show up,
it's not a big deal.
Yeah, and I think, like,
even we talk about teams wanting Calgary to retain on Markstrom,
and you're like,
six million bucks for a guy that's probably going to finish top five or six
in Besneville.
Like, that's not crazy money.
Why would you be eating some?
But it's because of what we just said,
that there isn't more than a handful of guys
that you know we're going to be good every year.
There just isn't.
Hella bucks good almost every year.
Last year he wasn't.
Shasturkin's been good almost every single year he's been in the NHL.
Bob was the best goalie in the game
and then looked pedestrian,
for three years and now it looks like one of the best in the game again.
They're too volatile to give that much money to.
Unless you're one of those guys.
Hellebuck's going to get paid.
She's Dirkin's going to get paid.
Bob got paid.
Didn't go well.
Now it is going well.
This is a goofy conversation.
You have to have great goal to get good gold tend.
You can't win without goaltending, but they're very hard to find.
Don't pay too much for it.
Yeah.
And then it's like at the same time, it's like, who are the goalies that you need?
And then you look at the last six cups.
And it's like Bennington was started that year.
the AHL. Aiden Hill started as a third stringer. He's traded for a fourth rounder. And this year
could be Stuart Skinner, who, you know, his career playoff numbers were 880s when he started this
year. Hey, you hang your hat on, if you had a team, you can run it however you want. I know what my
approach would be. Yeah, if you can go get a Hall of Famer, you have to. There are just so many guys
aren't that. You look at the Rangers going Lundquist to Schisturken, like, crazy. That's hard to.
I put Demko in that category.
I put Sorokin in there.
There's a few other guys around the league.
You know what else have been fortunate are the Canucks?
They've had good goal tending.
Yeah.
Bobby Lou.
Schneider.
Schneider.
Armstrong Demck.
Marks.
No.
Dan Cluchay.
No.
No?
No.
Is that?
Okay.
Sorry.
No.
A little rough of my Canucks stuff.
Just looking at Bobowski.
This is, you know, this is year five.
the first year had a 3.2, three goals against, and a 900.
And then from that point on, 906, 913, 901, 915, 2.37, 2.67.
I put no one to be below league average, but I get the point you're making.
And the thing is, what has that team been?
Have they been elite the whole five years?
I think the point of getting Bob was to send the message that we're going to be,
we're in this now.
Yeah, and again, we have to remember the context of it.
They signed Bob like seven days after they drafted Spencer Knight in the top 15 in the draft.
That was some crazy what the hell is Dale Talent doing.
And now, Spencer Knight, I believe, is either in player assistance or in the minors or his pause, press pause, whatever it is.
He's just not around.
But it was just like, what's the plan here?
Are you expecting one of these two things to fail?
Because it was just the whole pitcher didn't make a lot of sense when you committed $70 million to a goalie days after you drafted the goalie of the future and the
first round. I mean, that's not Bob's fault. No, of course not. You take that money. Yeah,
I'm not about a Bob. It's curious. It's curious for sure. It's Dale Tallon, what are you doing? And he was
gone before they got good. The, uh, at the other end, two on 17 for Stuart Skinner, who was mostly
fine. You look at the goals that went in. I don't know. That first goal, you had to go back
and watch it. It's, well, what are you defense? What are you doing? Nurse, it's a very, it's an elite
level play by the Florida Panthers. It just is. It's a great pass along the wall.
They're coming with speed and yeah, nurse bites a little bit and then C.C.
kind of obviously leaves the guy, but it's not egregious. There's,
there's some play by the forwards that kind of leads to it. And for Heggie finds a hole.
to get it's over there, right? I think he should stop it. I mean, it looks like he's all there, right?
There's nowhere else for that puck to go. I mean, if Barkoff backhands it or whatever, top shelf
for a short side there.
Okay.
But you know damn well,
the puck's got to go across your crease.
And he kind of slides with it.
It beats him.
I'd want that save.
That's fair.
And then that second one,
it's just kind of a
it's a low percentage play
that works some of the time.
And it worked at that moment
as Bennett fires it to the front of the net.
You love though,
I would guess if you're a forward and you just,
your eyes get big a sauce.
Like, holy shit.
It's good.
It's coming to me.
It's a soft play by the,
or D.
Yeah.
That pair is minus two.
They switched the pairs.
They're bringing a guy in.
They're sending a guy out.
And it reminded me a little bit of game six against Dallas.
Like Florida was good.
And,
but they certainly weren't the best team.
And they just got a lead and got goaltending.
They just,
and that was Edmonton when they eliminated Dallas.
I mean,
it wasn't that bad because they got more than 10 shots.
Yeah.
I didn't think Florida was good,
but they still looked like they felt comfortable.
Yes.
Yeah.
They weren't worried.
And when you've got ball playing the way he has,
I guess you can feel that way.
Yeah.
It wasn't like they were running around just,
oh,
Oh my God.
No, but there's how many breakaways in that game?
Two or three at least, right?
Like, it weren't airtight.
It could have been out of hand early.
Yeah.
If the Oilers cash in, it could be three,
nothing in the first without being, you know,
squinting too hard to see it.
So what is it?
So you've got in one hand, you got,
Oilers played pretty well, didn't win.
Panthers, you better pick your game up because you're going to be in trouble.
Or, uh, so which is, right?
Let me go.
I'm in there.
We take it one game at a time.
Okay.
That one's behind us.
We're just focused on, you know, first shift, setting the tone for the next game.
Just we're going to come out.
We're going to work.
We've got to be ready to work.
We know it's going to be a battle.
One shift at a time.
Okay.
What if that was like a bad Florida game?
What if.
That may have been.
What if Florida improves from here on in?
I mean, it was pretty quick.
You didn't see much.
I don't think it matters though.
Yeah.
Because I think there's enough discrepancies.
If you're playing the what.
If, well, what if Bob gives up one on a breakway, right?
It changes.
If he's perfect every game, there's no chance.
But what ifs are two?
Yeah.
And look, like ifs and buts, right?
We remember the Rod Rendemore, this isn't a sweep.
Like, you can outplay a team and still lose in a short series.
We don't like to see it happen because it feels weird.
But the Oilers, I don't think they were thinking they got outplay in game one.
And I think the Florida Panthers probably think they have more to offer too.
I think we still have a good competitive series to watch.
Yeah, we didn't.
I mean, Cachuk was pretty quiet.
Reinhardt was, like, there's,
there's some room to improve there.
Barker was excellent.
I would think if you're in Florida,
this is not the template you want to use.
Have your goalie stand on his,
yeah,
head for 50.
They let the other's power play operate more than you'd want to.
I don't think it was a ton,
but it was anytime you let them work,
it's not ideal.
Yeah.
Was it three?
How many do they get by the end of the night?
But I'll say this.
as a casual observer who really doesn't have
any skin in the game, it was a pretty good hockey game.
Yes.
This was not a suffocating, boring one.
It was a low scoring game, but they traded chances.
Yep.
It was back and forth.
It was a hell of a hockey game.
Physical.
Sure.
Yeah, they gave three power plays one way to the other.
Penal kills are perfect.
Non-factor on special teams,
goal-tending edge to Florida.
That's game one.
To kill, Rhett.
your mouth busts have just been water
and so good oh look at that
cleared the zone again
oh shot
they're breaking the reeds
good sticks
don't over commit
good job they didn't over commit
they let him move it
give them the shittiest shot
not the best don't
don't panic
it's easy
so easy
you'll be curious to see what Frank says
when he comes in
you'll say that it was a bad game
or that Bobrovsky wasn't good because we've been at opposite ends of the spectrum for a few weeks.

Getting ready for the match tonight, Frank, Sarah Valley.
What are the shirts on the chairs?
Do they say anything?
They've got them all set out there.
It's for Pinder.
Ah, rats rain.
Yeah, they do have a lot of rats.
Yeah.
They're still doing it.
They're still doing the rats.
The rats.
It's amazing.
If you look in the netting behind above the ring,
you can't see it on camera.
But if you look at the netting,
there's two rats stuck in there.
And it looks amazing.
Yeah, that's good.
Make it to the ice.
I wondered if, you know,
We complain about everything because the empty debtor goes in and then the rats hit the ice.
Are we going to get a delay game penalty for the Florida panther?
Please do not throw things on the ice.
It's just your final warning.
Gary's mad.
They're more easygoing in Florida, I guess.
We've been talking about it, obviously.
It was a heck of a game one back and forth.
This wasn't a defensive showcase or a...
Oh, you like game one.
That's so weird.
Well, I was going to say you must have thought it sucked because we kind of thought it was an entertaining game.
So sorry you had to sit through game first.
Frank. Wow. That wait. So you guys like hockey games like that. That is wild.
Sometimes. Yeah. Not often. That's good. You're finally figuring it out, Frank.
The Oilers said all the right things afterwards. We're not worried. We played well.
There's nothing. We just keep doing what we're doing. And they're right. But you hate losing a game like that in a game one.
You're the road team. And to go in and you out shoot them, you outplay them and you get goalied for the most part.
That stinks for sure.
it's a tough one man like i look at that and i listen to them after the game and i don't know that
i've ever seen a team so happy with a loss like ret i'm sure part of you listening to that you go
what there are no moral victories in june you don't the deserved a winometer that doesn't count
when it comes to hoisting lord stanley that's like the the road to to hell in the stanley cup
playoffs has been paved with comments like that for decades.
That part was a little bit surprising to me.
I think if you're,
if you're the Oilers,
there's two things that you're looking at.
You're going,
one,
the moment wasn't too big for us.
Like when they wheeled out the Stanley Cup to put it in center,
before the anthems,
this is a team that didn't play in the Stanley Cup final last year.
Everyone wondered how would they react.
That would be a positive to me.
And then the other thing is, too,
for all this talk about the Panthers being,
you know, so much of a better team and the clear sort of heavy favorite in terms of prediction,
the Oilers didn't look like, you know, even though they lost the game,
they didn't look like a team that's on a different level or playing in a different arena.
So to me, I think the fact that you can play with these guys and the moment wasn't too big,
those are the positives.
But to sit here and think that the Panthers aren't also going to be better in game two,
that's the part that's a little tough for me to figure.
So when did the cup being out, I don't think that's traditionally happened often, if ever,
What's the story there, Frank?
Well, it was around and it was in the arena on display during the bubble,
but that's because no one was there watching it.
This time around, they wanted to just try and do something a little different.
Maybe a new tradition that they start to just show you right, you know,
sort of before you drop the puck, hey, boys, this is what you're playing for.
As if they didn't know already.
But I kind of like the theater to have that wheeled out and you see it.
I like it too.
Well, it's a great at Trovean sport.
You can't overuse it, in my opinion.
Mike Russo had a report.
It's like since the 60s.
This is the first time that they've done it.
And some people were saying that, well, this takes a little bit away from the cup is in the building moment.
I disagree.
I thought it was pretty cool because we haven't seen it's like, oh, shit there.
And then you bring it out whenever it's time that someone has a chance to win it.
It's not like it's flaunted all over town or in the building every time.
Yeah.
Now, did the players know?
It's not the Larry O'Brien.
It's not the trophy of sport.
World Series trophy.
There's something about that thing.
Yeah.
So to your point, I wonder if they weren't prepared, I'd almost want my team prepared for it.
Hey, they're bringing the cup out.
Just, I don't even need to stay anymore.
The teams were prepared.
They were told beforehand, hey, this is happening.
And I don't know if you noticed or if they, I don't know what they showed on TV,
but Connor McDavid was just, he didn't even look over at it.
Really?
Yeah.
It's, I thought it was a cool moment.
And to your point, it's, it's felt like that for a while for the Oilers,
that the moment hasn't been too big for them.
Changes tonight, though.
We were kind of talking at Cody, C.C. and Nurse, those two,
it's been well documented, their struggles as a pairing.
Were you surprised to see Noblock go back to that pairing?
And then obviously it leads to Cici being a spectator tonight.
Likely to be a spectator, yes.
Evander Kane walking around downstairs telling everyone that he's in tonight,
despite not participating in the morning skate.
I always find that to be interesting.
But there was some talk with CC potentially could they go 11-7 and CC is the seventh guy.
Look, you could go around and around in a circle here.
I was surprised to see them go back to Nurse and CC because it clearly hasn't worked.
The numbers don't lie.
You can make fun of plus minus all you want.
But when you're on the ice for that number of goals,
against in one single playoff run.
And then you see the soft play that CC made down the other end of the ice in game one
that directly leads to a goal.
And it's two parts.
It's CC being soft on defending, but then also Darnel Nurse, like, you read, how many times
did you say to yourself, put your stick on the ice?
Like, you're defending in front of the net.
It's not that complicated.
Part of these are fundamentals that it's just, it's not working.
They need more from Darnel Nurse.
They needed more from Cody C.
to go back and and switch things around now.
The only question that I have is we've also kind of seen that the Oilers don't really like Darnell with De Harne.
So what does that look like in game two?
I think it made sense we would see De Arna at some point.
Bigger guys can handle the pressure and forecheck and physicality of Florida.
But a little bit surprised to see those two go back together again.
It was an odd move to go back to those guys.
I mean, that's, that is, it's got to be one of the biggest.
questions and at the end of the series, if they win, it won't matter. But if they lose,
it will be hugely criticized. And they get scored on early, right?
First goal. Yeah, dash two in the first, how many? Yeah. Yeah. Now, I mean,
this is another, we were already kind of talking about it. I don't know. It doesn't really help
anybody today and it's revisionist history. But what, what deals potentially, as far as you know,
could have been there for a defenseman for the Oilers? We know that they make the move for
Henrique and Carrick and it seemed like,
they don't know,
they don't really seem to need more depth.
It's a veteran guy.
You love having that presence in the room.
But at the expense of a top four defenseman is kind of knowing where the cap was
and that they only had that first as a real asset to move.
Always felt like that was the greatest need.
Yeah.
Was there not a deal for them to be made?
Oh, there was a deal.
Well, first off,
I think they really wanted Chris Tenev.
For one,
I don't think the flames,
wanted to make a deal with the oilers if they could avoid it,
not that, you know,
the Canucks are that much,
you know,
more palatable as a trade partner.
But that was part of it.
And I'd say the other thing is,
the oilers,
I believe,
made the incorrect assessment that they thought that TANV
wouldn't be a big upgrade over Cici.
And that is really probably where they've gotten themselves into some trouble here.
Is how much better is he than Cici?
Is it really worth,
you know,
diving in and giving up the first round pick?
Because had it ultimately come down to that,
the flames are taking the first from the Oilers instead of from the stars.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And honestly, flakes fly forever.
If they somehow lose this series by one or two games and have done it with two to two and a half top four defensemen,
that's like,
Tanna would,
is a huge upgrade in my mind.
Yeah,
look, there,
I think it's fair to say that the Oilers had a complacency issue when it came
to looking at this trade deadline.
I use this phrase all year long with them.
I said, this is a burn the boats type year.
You're not coming back after this.
Not to say that they can't be back here next season.
It's just don't leave any stones unturned.
You're not going to care about a first round pick that's 26th or whatever overall that,
you know, they ended up trading anyway.
That me, Henrique and Carrick, like, Henrique's been fine when he's been healthy,
but not enough of a game changer for me to say that, you know,
you shouldn't have at least.
tried to kill more birds with that one big stone that you had.
And also sometimes some other moves that they didn't make,
like they had to potentially part with Warren Fogle or Brett Kulak or someone else
as part of this, you know,
cat machination in order to bring in someone a bit heftier that Kulak has been
unbelievable in these playoffs.
He's found a way to elevate in a big way.
You know,
what I'd say is their deadline was certainly a mixed bag.
we'll pivot because I know that we've only got you for a few minutes with your
responsibilities there the Markstrom stuff seems to just be getting hotter by the day
leave for the weekend we come back and now it's Ottawa it's Toronto it's New Jersey
it's Carolina you may have nothing on it but I have to throw it out there are you hearing
anything or what's your sense on the Markstrom stuff because we're another day closer to
the draft and it sure seems like it's building look I think the Calgary Flames my understanding
they're looking at this and are they willing to be a partner in in making a jacob marks from trade
happen a hundred percent uh the new jersey devils are still there of course um when it comes to the
sends when it comes to the leaf some of these other teams that might be interested um i i really
truly believe that the flames felt like their best opportunity the best return that they were going to make
the best package that they were going to get was going to be in trading him at the deadline and
it's not to say that they're not interested now,
they still need to answer the questions that we've been talking about for months,
about how do you create a spot for Dustin Wolf?
What does that look like?
Is Jacob Markstrom potentially going to be happy if he comes back?
How much of the competitor in Markstrom wants the chance to win?
Markstrom holds all the keys here.
I think he's open to lots of different things,
but the flames feel like the price needs to be met,
the bar needs to be met in terms of what they're looking to get.
and they feel like this time around because of the other goalies that are now available,
Allmark, potentially Soros, who's looking at a huge monster contract extension,
whether it's a next tier down guy in Philip Gustafson, whoever it might be,
there's way more goalies available now that New Jersey, my read on the situation is that
they're looking at it going, we'll take any one of these guys,
whatever one we can get our hands on at the price that fits, it's almost like their coaching search,
whether it ended up being Craig Barrowby or Sheldon Keefe or Jay Woodcroft or whoever
it was like, we just want to get one of them.
And as long as we get one of the guys on our list, that's great.
And that's a lot how I view this market of there's more available than just Markstrom
this time around.
And they're going to have to, you know, decide whether the price commensurate with that
is worth it to them to move him.
Ottawa is new to that search, it seems as well.
And again, it never happens.
but it feels like all of a sudden
maybe it's because of the, if not the depth,
just the uncertainty of that first round maybe,
but you've got the flames at nine
and well, New Jersey will move 10 and Buffalo,
they've been drafting high forever and they got 11.
And Ottawa, well, they've got seven and they've been drafting high.
Is there a chance that we could see?
Detroit at 15, another team that could use better goaltending
that not necessarily needs the prospect?
They're not trading their first.
Okay.
Yeah, I just, I don't think Carolina's authentically in the mix either.
I don't either.
They never value goals.
They never value goalies and they're definitely not,
going to be trading legitimate capital to get one and they don't really want to pay one on their
cap so i you can cross carolina off the list as far as i'm concerned all right fella we'll let
get on your way appreciate you uh enjoy the game tonight if you can try your best and uh save travels
tomorrow what's better than this cup i know nothing nothing is that's right get some sun frank okay
appreciate you frank hey i was out on the boat yesterday had a few cocktails the boat really i was
pontooning.
Where were you guys?
Rhett?
It would have been,
it was a day made for Rhett.
Yeah,
he could see his face,
you know.
Throw the anchor in at the sandbar,
right?
Yeah.
Fort Lauderdale there.
You got the cooler loaded up.
We missed you,
fella.
It's a little late for the invite.
It's a little late.
Yeah.
That yesterday's boat ride.
It's a little late for the invite.
Yeah.
All right,
Frankie boy.
Appreciate you.
Take care, man.
There he is.

We were there last year.
Do we, the one angle that I don't know that we're talking about enough,
like, does Jacob Marcheon have any interest in returning to a team
that clearly looks slated for a top 10 pick of the draft at this point next?
You've been talking about kind of the whole time.
I don't think so.
Can you get him to move?
Will he,
you know,
will he wave?
Will you get him to wave?
It might not be a hard.
Yeah.
Exercise.
It's very different from the Martin situation
because we know the leaves are,
like they just get 100 points every year and he likes it there.
Marchham came here to win.
There's two years left.
He's at the point of his career where they're not,
might not be a lot of good Jacob Marshall
hockey beyond the end of this contract.
This is his last chance to go get a trophy,
to go get a ring to win.
The real question is,
is he going to handcuff the flames to get to one or two spots?
Or is he's like,
anyone that's got a good playoff chance,
like,
give me there.
And that's the only type of team is looking at him.
No one that's like rebuilding wants them.
It's more like we're a goalie away,
go get Markstrom and he'd be happy.
Because the real threat the flames have,
the only leverage they have here is bringing them back.
Right?
Yeah.
If he doesn't want to be here,
that's the only leverage they have.
Yeah.
Which might be enough.
That might be all you need.
Sounds like a terrible.
Listen, if you don't do it.
Have you seen our D-Corp?
You think they can jump back.
Neil Miramadobs are third best defensemen.
Like, buckle up, bud.
Yeah, Miramadoff's playing 24 minutes a night.
You like that?
You want your numbers to negotiate another contract?
Well, yeah.
And so the real list of suitors, New Jersey's got to be legit.
Ottawa has to be interested.
I don't know how interested in Jacob would be,
but I do think they're close.
There's a lot of good young players.
I was going to ask you.
Shitty goal to do you brought it up, Ottawa.
That kind of surfaced over the weekend.
Bruce Garriac out of Ottawa had the report.
Now, I get it, but do you view them as a team in that same?
You got to get them at some point.
You look at Florida.
We just talked about it.
Florida went and got Bobrovsky to start, and it didn't even look good,
pinders the numbers and blah, blah, blah.
But that's what Bobrovsky was.
It was a signal to the organization, to the team, to the guys there that, no,
we want to start winning hockey games.
Ottawa has to do that.
What's Brady Gachuk going to think if they fumble fuck through another season?
Totally.
Yeah, I agree.
It's part of my language, but it ain't going to go well.
Push up.
And so they're not far away, and they have two first round picks this year.
They got one for the Debrinkat swap, and the others is their own.
They do have to surrender one of their firsts for the alleged, no trade list of Dadanov, which is insane.
and maybe the league doubles back on that
like they did the Kovilchuk first rounder with New Jersey.
The new owner hated it.
That's kind of a sidebar,
but you've got two firsts.
You've got a very good young core.
And if you wanted to use those two first rounders
to add players to this team,
it's a really good team.
So maybe it's one defensive defenseman
or maybe you chase a Tannaven free agency
and go get Markstrom.
They're ready to start competing.
They might be ready to dump one of their young defensemen too.
Yeah, well, the chickering thing has been an absolute swing and the miss because now he's got a year left and they're trying to move them.
It's like what was the whole point of that?
We've been saying it for days.
It just feels like New Jersey.
We saw them a year ago be a very good team.
And then things fell apart on them this year.
They have injuries that contribute to it.
They've made a coaching change.
Shitty goal-tending is the biggest thing that undid their season.
And the complaint from the flames side on that deal was that they weren't getting enough in return.
What Frank brings up with, I know, I know he's shaking.
your head. But we don't know, right?
That's what we were told.
We don't know.
Connie thought it was enough. Someone else thought it
wasn't it was and it's kind of the rumor, right?
So regardless, it wasn't enough and it didn't get done.
My question to all of it is,
what is enough? Like, if
they're taking that approach, Conroy
and the Flames and Management and Ownership,
again, into this off-season,
I worry because
of what Frank just said.
Fuck you. There's other guys.
If they could get their pause
in number 11, I think this is a slam-down.
or 10, excuse me.
Like, you have to find a way to make it work if you can get 10.
Because this is not a team that's good.
This is not a team that has great young players.
This is a team that's got a lot of secondary, tertiary pieces in their system.
They have no stars.
You need to go to the draft this year.
If you had three first rounders, you could turn those into two core players.
You can now start the clock on the rebuild.
Not that it's soon, but it's like, those are the guys who are they building around?
Who are they building around right now?
There's no one.
There was not a single guy.
you are building around.
Hansick might be a middle six winger,
posthal might have injury issues
and never gets beyond a third line type guy.
Zeri may just be a creative middle six player.
They don't have a prospect to build around.
Maybe Dustin Wolf is one,
but until we see it,
no one's going to believe it.
They need to go get some core players to build around.
You can do that with picks at 9 and 10.
If not that,
the other name that we heard was involved in that trade
was Alexander Holtz,
who is a recent first round.
23, right shot.
Not a lot of power play time.
Dripping with skill, but it hasn't worked in Jersey.
22, seventh overall in 2020, had 16 goals this past season.
Hardly used in special teams.
Like, there's better spots for him.
And you'd understand why with that New Jersey forward group,
why he's sort of been blocked a bit there.
It's not a center.
It's the time to sell.
Markstrom had a great season.
And, but are you,
if you're the GM and Fitzgerald,
says, okay, let's do 10th overall for Markstrom.
No salary retention. Do you do it, Rhett?
I do. I would as well. And you could argue both sides of like, oh, we want to, we need more.
Well, we need more. Like, I usually that. If you're the Calgary Flames, that you've got to swing at 10.
Like we've seen some mock drafts for Salio of slides till 10 or Ginnla is available at 10 or, you know,
Kaden Lindstrom. Regardless, just view it as a top 10. But, well, my point is is that these, these are
potential stars in the NHL. They might not be, but like what else are we looking at here?
Like if the only thing that matters right now is finding potential stars. You can't turn it around
until you do that. No one comes out of a rebuild without star players. So yes, I would do it. Now,
the only argument would be that we don't have to trade them this year or we can go next year and
we can still get a first down the road. I don't know though. I just think that a bird in hand at this
point is more than worth it. It's a really good season to trade marks from coming off of. I don't know
what you're gambling.
I don't know what you're saving by hanging on to the asset, gambling at lower numbers.
Team's not going to be as good.
The defense.
No hat of them.
No,
10.
You're going to get lit up.
Right?
Like,
what are you hoping to garner if you hang on to this asset?
Now,
again,
we don't know what's coming back the other way.
So we might be out to lunch as far as what's available.
Yeah.
But if it is what you,
a tent or that holds or something.
And even if it,
what are you hoping to get?
Like what's the catch?
Like what?
We're just going to keep them and play them and help them mentor Wolf.
That's that's your sign a tell that to mentor wolf if you need a mentor.
That doesn't sound like asset management,
which is what the team,
Conroy and everyone has said since they stepped into these roles.
They have to,
and they do.
They need to do better job with asset management.
If you had to handicap.
It will go around the room of what the odds are that Jacob Markstrom's a flame after the draft.
Where would you put it?
It feels awfully low.
2%.
I mean, it feels two.
So this is getting done.
Yeah.
I think it's got it's it has to be better than 50.50 is gone.
Yeah.
And maybe significantly so.
And part of it I have to believe to your point is Markstrom's already said yes to a move.
And it's not just New Jersey.
He's already said yes to leaving Calgary.
Yeah.
And he ain't going to want this hanging over.
his head all summer. If he's making the
move, he's probably saying, okay, it's got to be done
now or, you know what I mean? Like,
it gets all buddy and guys, there's
different angles to it all and it's like,
well, if he's going to accept it now, he'll accept
it. And don't trade, yeah, if it's me, don't
trade me in the season. I might get
over with, just I got, I got family
and my wife, if it's happening,
get it done so we can find a place
and put some roots down and start to have
it's only two years left. Hopefully we stay there for
two years, but I don't want to leave in
January. Rip the bandit.
LA is the other team we haven't mentioned. They have no goalies under contract.
Cop plays up, Riddick's up, and Talbets up.
Not that it's necessarily an easy fit with the cat.
Sorry, he has a one year at one million, so he's a three.
Riddick.
He started in the A last year. You could do that again this year.
Maybe he's a backup. They don't have a number one is what I should have said.
Same.
But yeah, like, this is your chance, Craig.
If Jacob Markstrom has an amazing year next year, which would have to be playing as well as he did this year,
his numbers are going to be brutal.
Look at the team playing in front of him.
this is your best chance left to trade jacobarkstrom i thought and that's just it i don't know
what hanging on to this asset does i don't get it i don't know how i don't know how you improve
your team by hanging on to this asset yeah agreed and i think they may have arrived at this
conclusion on their own already anyway and they're just saying okay what's it's the 28th of draft
18 days they don't need our help is that we're saying the deal might be done they might be doing
And the deal might be done.
They might be saying we're not going to disrupt the Stanley Cup.
Yeah.
Or it's like, hey, we got to work out like a half million bucks of cap stuff.
It's like, okay, well, let's take a few days to do this.
We've got a handshake in principle.
The series is overall announced it.
Or you're trying to create the boiler room where you're like, Ottawa,
you get a little more for us here.
Then we'll give a tea.
Oh, Jersey, Ottawa just stepped like if Craig's trying to work the room,
you've got 18 days to do it.
Yeah.
But don't fumble the bag.
Because I wonder if part of that is.
You're hearing Ottawa's in the mix.
Well, they were all just together in Buffalo for the conference.
So now all this stuff is starting to trickle out.
I do wonder about Toronto.
You know that there's the relationship for living likes the goalie.
Could use a goalie for sure.
Wall's been great, but he's not healthy enough and they need a veteran to mentor him.
I think it's a perfect fit for two years.
Salary is going to be tough.
Yeah.
I wonder what,
because admittedly,
I've not gone in there.
I know they have some good young players.
There's plenty of them there.
It seems like anyway.
Houston Cowan,
they drafted first round last year late.
They love him.
A kid in Saskatoon, of course, Matthew Nyes.
came in and he's going to be.
Watcher, I think he's the guy you're talking about in there.
That's Boston.
Boston, sorry.
Anyway, so yeah, I'm wondering about the Leafs as well.
Do you love those assets that you just mentioned, though?
Like, I don't know.
I know that Cowan had a good year and they're bragging him up pretty good, but he was
almost surprised.
I'd think because their first is later.
They have it this year, if I'm correct, right?
They never moved their first?
I don't think so, yeah.
They kept it.
So if you get the first plus one of those kids, you won't get Cowan because they love him.
I think if you redraft last year, he's already moved way out.
up. He had one of the best years to know this year, if I'm correct.
Yeah.
First plus. That'd be nice. We got the first. It's going to be what, around 20 to 23. I'll pull it up.
10 is better. Yep. 10 feels better anyway. It's to be determined.
Yeah. There seems to be a thought that there's sort of a cliff somewhere between like 12 and 20 that teams will want to be ahead of or behind of at the you may as well just trade down.
I always struggle when we talk so definitively.
We don't know.
It's just like, like, and I'm not, I'm not throwing you.
It's like, oh, you could get sallai everywhere.
Who the fuck knows?
But with this draft, I think that's the point for a lot of it is that some guys are ranked at 10 and on other lists are ranked at two.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
So that's why I think if you can add in the top 12, you're going to be really happy.
I don't know the apt to get into the 20s versus a normal year.
18 days?
18 days to the draft
You're going to the draft, Rhett?
Not yet.
Not yet.
Are you keen on coming to the draft?
Can we book you?
Keen?
He'd be keen to be on a boat in Florida yesterday.
Humidity would have been.
That's where you've got to be on the water.
But you'd, I mean, the bulldog, you'd have the bulldog out.
You wouldn't have to be fully dressed and slacks.
Short shorts.
Thank you, Tom.
Bulldog to be barking.
Yeah, he'll be barking.
Tell you about Wendy's.
Come on now.
Frozen pucks are awesome.
When they're in the back of the other guy's net,
doesn't mean you'd want to eat one.
That's why Wendy's only ever uses fresh Canadian beef
that's never seen the inside of a freezer.
In all of their burgers, whether you order the Baconator,
Dave's single or even a JBC,
you'll only ever find.
real fresh beef that's juicy and loaded with fresh toppings.
So download the Wendy's app.
Check out the latest deals.
Order a burger.
Its only job is being delicious.
Good work.
Delicious.
Being delicious.
LA picks at 21, Toronto at 23.
That's not nearly as exciting as getting into that top dozen.
Neither and another.
But if we were going to spin it,
then you would tell me that, you know,
Pasturac was taken late.
He was. Look, there are guys.
It's just, we also know a lot of names
the 20s that didn't turn out to be.
I think that if you're talking about that,
you know, those later first round picks,
I'm as happy to take a guy like that Holtz kid that you mentioned.
Do you know what I mean?
You can have an idea of the asset.
Yeah.
And then you even take that away.
What's he worth?
I mean, he's,
he's a flames number one.
He's going to go in and potentially really help a team.
Yeah.
But what is he a 10th overall pick to me feels like that's,
that's pretty good value.
Yeah.
And you pointed out last.
last week it was a great dig in
the research department there
you know, I think.
Corey Schneider for number eight or nine.
Yeah, nine. And it turned out to be a bore horovat and you're like
both teams, that deal made sense. Now, Schneider ran into
some injury stuff in Jersey so it didn't really go as well
for them as they'd hope longevity wise. But like,
at that time, everyone won.
He won. Yeah, he was elite for a couple
years there, right? Including when he was in van and then
early in New Jersey and then he got both his hips done. He was never the same.
Yeah.
It's not that hard.
I feel like we could get this done.
I think they might get it done.
I think that's why Rett's at 98%.
Yeah.
It's a big number of Redd.
You're saying 98, hey?
It's 98.
I said two.
But it's 2% chance of it.
98% it happens.
3% stays.
1% for a.
And the retirement is the other.
It's big odds.
Where are you at?
You're better than 50, 52?
Yeah, I think it's like an 80, 20.
It makes too much sense not to, right?
And again, just we're kind of repeating ourselves.
I think the part that there's no way to know,
but I think Markstrom's done.
I feel like he hates here.
You're right, that whole thing.
I don't like being talking to that whole thing.
We're not going to be as good.
My buddy Lindholm isn't here.
Two of the top three defensemen are gone.
Two of the top four,
however you want to shape it.
It's not likely to be a playoff.
They want to play the kid.
There's not a whole lot of reason.
to stay.
I'm texting some goalie people
that know goalie people
that know goalie people.
Brent Cron.
We used to have a weekly guest
on the old show
that would talk goalies.
Does marks him out vehemently.
Yeah.
So it's okay.
This is getting done.
Yeah, right?
It's,
the flames want to maximize
the asset and all of that.
I think the player is like,
get me the hell out.
It's the right time.
It is.
He was a good flame and it's a good signing.
And honestly,
a free agent signing that four years into six,
you can flip for a first, that'd be unreal if you could pull it off.
Shit, yeah.
You're welcome, Craig.
Iggy.
Whoever else, Pascal?
Yeah, if you guys need to take days off, that's fine.
We can just manage this for you.
Yeah.
Collect you checks.
Give us the Rolodex and the landline.
Big deal.
Happily do it for you.
For a minor fee, like a finder's fee.
What percentage?
You know, look.
Of the organization?
That's right.
I feel like 10's fair.
We'd split that three ways.
3 and a third each.
Yeah, sure.
What's that about valuation's got to be north of a billion U.S.
because Ottawa sold for that and that's a dump in Canada.
A good new ring coming here.
In theory.
Like it.
Yep.
Time for the Pinda report.
I was told coming in,
uh,
Rhett,
maybe you're on for it,
that there's so much dumb shit.
Yeah.
They're going to have to save some for tomorrow.
Yeah,
we're shelving some for Tuesday.
Just,
uh,
I don't want anything to overheat here.
That's right.
Jack gave it the nod as well.
A lot of dumb shit.
Lots of dumb shit.
And Rhett brought in some dumb shit as well.
Are you contributing to this?
Redd.
Yeah.
Really?
I didn't find it.
Somebody sent it to me.
Well, it was Pinda Report worthy.
So I appreciate that.
It was eye opening.
Pinda report, a presentation of Village Honda, the Honda Civic.
You see them everywhere.
It's because they are great in value.
They're reliable and tremendous performance.
The 2024 Civic received a 10 out of 10 in car and drivers,
comprehensive vehicle testing, the Civic Type R, Civic S.I, ranked number one and two, respectively,
in the sport compact category.
You could take a Civic for a rip today at Village Honda, located in the Northwest Automall,
your dealership for life.
Village Honda presents the Finder Report.
I was chasing down a Civic today.
Real?
Yeah.
That's going on here.
Wow.
They caught a fleeting glance and then I thought I need to inspect further upon.
Right.
So reliability and
Yeah.
Did you get this in Village Honda?
Excuse me, Miss.
I got to check that license plate holder.
Is that a village Honda one?
I've got to go say hello.
Do you live nearby?
It's very sporty though.
I could not catch up.
Well, yeah, maybe it was the SI.
Yeah, probably.
Very sporty.
Number one in Car and Driver magazine.
I didn't know the person noticed that they were being followed.
Yeah.
That's disturbing.
Let's move on, shall we?
Right back into the thing.
we just did, the Jacob Markstrom stuff.
Here are the latest is Ottawa.
This is Bruce Garriach of the
Ottawa son or Garyok.
Garyok. Thank you.
Yeah, they've looked at Markstrom. Why wouldn't they?
A league executive said they believe the flames would likely be
looking for a package that would include a first round
pick and a high end young prospect
from the senators in exchange for Markstrom.
Sense of number seven and number 25.
So they'll have no issue moving that
part of the ask. The issues
they don't have a lot of young players that they want to move.
They want a lot in return.
turn, a league executive said.
Great. Ask for everything, Craig.
Good job. Good job.
The flames are asking for very little.
And so the hang-up is not, no, you ask for a lot.
That's the way we go. I'd be curious what Markstrom, like that's,
Ottawa's a team where that's not a high priority for a lot of, I agree.
No.
Guys with, but he knows green, correct?
He's going to make, oh, Travis. Oh, I don't know if that's good or bad.
Trave.
He was there when Travis Green said,
I thought they were buddies, so I thought this was, they were, they were buddies because that was part of the Jersey thing too.
Jersey.
Jersey. Jersey. Jersey.
Ryan Pike with some number crunching for us.
Calgary's got some cap space are at 21 million bucks and they already kind of have a full roster.
I mean, 5D 11 forwards.
There's not much room there.
when you subtract marks from 16, that would make it, wow, 26.
I was going to say they could give 20 million to what, Stamcoast, maybe?
Perfect.
Maybe 11 to Stamcoast and 11 to Rinehart?
You spend some of that on more first rounders, please.
I would, yes indeed.
Hey, Ottawa, here's Marks, and we'll take both of your first round.
Yeah, well, you, Corpusallo's bad deal.
Corpuselho, year two, of a five-year, $20 million pact.
how's your free agent signing going when you're trying to tie a guy to a first round pick on the way out one year in?
Oof.
Yeah.
We need both those first rounders to do that.
It's kind of what they wanted to do with Bobrovsky in Florida.
He's been good.
Okay.
We shall move.
So Pike says they have cast space.
They're probably going to get more.
We also got to remember it's also the walk years from Manjapani and for our boy Kuzmankov and Igor Shirenkovic who's eligible for an extension.
And on Japan.
It's one year left.
Came up in the Buffalo circles.
What's that?
Tell me about it.
On Japan's name came up in some Buffalo circles.
I was at the rink the other day.
Tell us more.
Tell us more.
I can't reveal sources.
What kind of a team would be looking for?
You were at the rink.
Does he have some stink to his game?
Absolutely.
He's got a stink to his game.
I said, I said what he needs is to get traded because he's gotten flat.
Yeah.
It's Sam Bennett 2.0, like totally different.
Not same same.
I shouldn't say 2.0.
But like guys that you know will look better in a different spot if they go there tomorrow.
Just change the scenery is a big part of the equation.
100%.
That said, and I don't disagree.
I don't think he reaches those goal totals.
No, but you're not buying a 35 goal guy.
You want 20 goals.
That's what you're looking at.
25 third line.
And at half price, I think he's an attractive asset at full price.
5.8.
It's a lot of money.
It's a lot of cheddar.
Some high praise after 20 minutes
from the great one to,
well, potentially a great
defensive player, certainly that.
Nobody knows it like you.
So go back to your first two couple
appearances. You're up against
Brian Trachey. McDavid,
it's against Barkov. So you lived
it. What did you learn those first two years?
I just said to my wife sitting there
during the first period,
I said, number 16 is the best defensive hockey player I've seen since Brian Treche.
And I got Brian Trace four games.
And what did I get?
No goals.
And what do we get?
No cup.
So you learn from that, right?
But listen, both of those guys are two great players.
And Barcoff makes an unreal pass.
And he's good offensively, too, like Trache was.
But Conner's got his work cut out against this young man.
Alex, yesterday we had Wayne Gretzky on the show, and he called you the best defensive forward.
he's seen in decades. What does it mean to hear that kind of compliment from Wayne Grosky?
Wow. Yeah, I mean, it's coming from from him especially means a lot.
Everyone knows what he's done to the game of hockey and when you hear stuff like people, special
people like him say stuff like that is obviously means a lot coming from like players or
former player, so I appreciate that.
All right, 99 on 16.
It's Florida. If this guy's playing in Montreal, Toronto, guys,
we are sick of hearing his name. It's just one of those things.
Not that we don't know he's good, but this is Bergeron, but bigger and stronger and younger.
I said to my wife after the first period, put 10 grand on Panthers minus one and a half.
I said to my wife, we need more dip. What else is going on at the intermission, rat?
you say anything to the shoveler after 20?
No,
shoveler was wasted after 20.
Of course you was. I said to my wife
after 20 minutes, honey, you can hardly
stand up, you're cut off. Grab a water.
For 20 minutes into the concert and you're already
stumbling about. Come on. Sit down.
We noted the CC scratch. We'll quickly remind people
if they're joining us a little later. It looks like he could
be out tonight. Now, Frank did give us the caveat.
They could go 11 and 7, but Van der Kaine not skating is a normal thing.
He says he's in.
Maybe you get a Carrick in for Corey Perry,
who's been in and out this postseason.
Has he skated on the third line this morning.
Again, it's the cup final.
Don't read too much in.
But like Frank was saying,
Kane is going around and telling everybody that'll listen
that he's playing tonight, playing tonight.
It wouldn't be surprising if he doesn't play tonight
and they do go 11 and 7 potentially.
But who knows?
It does feel, I mean, like you said,
they built.
out possibly. He didn't skate, but that's a thing that happens on game.
He's been nursing an injury for a bit, so he doesn't skate, but hey, he's playing tonight.
Don't worry about it, which may well be. Stay tuned. Ryan, back to you. Thank you.
We're going to have to say goodbye to a good friend of the show. Jack?
Yep. Jack has been purchased by the Washington Capitals.
His Intel, his insights, and his work ethic, apparently quite coveted. So much so that the Capitals are
purchasing Jack and his cap-friendly website.
What are you going to do now that cap-friendly is going to go dark?
What happens to the next person that just does a cap-friendly?
There is already another.
Because remember, it was Cap-Geek that actually got bought by one of the teams.
And then Cap-friendly came along.
Puckpedia is already there.
And, Rhett, what I like about Puckpedia is they've got every single player's agent in there.
And you can look at the Rolodexes of all the agents, which is...
Isn't Puckpedia?
I'm not in time.
In the family?
Sure, that'd be nice if they were.
I believe it is.
That's pretty deadly if that's the case.
Anyway.
Going to miss you, Cap Friendly.
Going to miss you, Jack.
Good work on your website.
Let's get to local sports.
It was a big weekend around Calgary.
Wow, Friday night, actually some really nice weather for the Stampeders home opener.
Not a Thursday and a Friday and not a loss, but a win, 700 Ws for the stamps.
As they throttled a bully I did play.
He was not hurt.
You are asking on Friday.
He didn't trip on his ego as that one?
emails email or suggest.
Nice.
Not nice.
Congrats Dave.
Out of boy.
Good start.
One and all.
And they now have 17 games remaining in their season and only six to win to hit the over on their six and a half over under set by the books.
Didn't get a lot of love this off season.
We'll see.
BC's stiff test coming up this weekend.
They lost in our O and one.
They'll be a Owley.
Surly.
Surly.
Cranky?
O and one.
That's a.
You know, the lion's a cat would be cranky.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You don't want a cranky cat.
Pissy.
Why so pissy, Leon?
Let's move to Cavalry FC.
Dean, we waited at your doorbell.
I was there.
And you didn't come.
And look what you missed.
No, nil, second half.
Despite Dean trying to sink their season, look at this beautiful play.
Back door.
Beautiful.
Tobias for chest.
I can see it.
That's the goal.
The dominated forge,
Rhett, they win 1-0,
all kinds of chances in the first
they couldn't bury,
but they get a huge three points.
They're now within striking distance of...
Right there.
I'm in the...
That's not you.
I was wearing the thing.
The thing you were wearing was your basement couch.
Not accurate.
Not accurate.
Not the only soccer this weekend.
The Canadian men got throttled on Thursday
by the Netherlands.
remember the score, Rhett?
4-0.
Look at this.
This is extra time against France,
the second best nation in the world,
according to FIFA rankings.
Only Argentina better.
Mbapé coming in.
Best player in the world?
Stop and that essentially ends the game.
A nil-nil draw with the French
is a hell of a result for a Canadian team
that has, they're two weeks into a new head coach,
and they got throttled on Thursday by the Dutch.
Well done, fellas.
French would not be happy with this.
Yeah, Embappet didn't look too happy there.
Zoot.
Zutalur.
Zutalor.
Yeah.
Se domage.
Frumage?
What's he surpassed.
Tebranac.
Surgery in action as well.
Big win Wednesday.
Yeah, not the best day for Friday.
And back at it for their third game in five days against the stinking sea bears.
And they handed a throttling.
Yeah, they did.
To those Winnipeg Sea Bears.
1-1078.
eight.
Another 25 points.
How do you like that?
Stick that in your pipes.
Sea bears.
Smoke it.
Two and four on the season.
And a busy, what, five of their six games have played at home.
So they got some road games coming up, I'm told.
Also, we had winners.
Remember, we gave away tickets, the VIP table to the game.
They got to the game.
Look at this, crew.
How good is that?
Oh, yeah.
Let's spill the corn.
Corn.
some seven ups.
The noise making things.
Good looking family there.
And of course, the mascot,
um,
uh,
Serge,
Sir,
Sergio,
Hooty.
Sergio.
Are you hooty?
It's not,
not hooty.
I believe it's Sergio.
Let's go to baseball.
This is the weirdest double play you'll ever see,
Rhett.
It is.
The biggest double play you'll see.
Off the picture,
off the um,
to the shortstop for the double play.
That's some bad luck.
great thing. The craziest double play you'll see off the pitcher, off the ump to the shortstop for the double play.
Way to stay with it, right. That's nice to go. You gotta stay in the game. The shortstop with most guys.
They just see that hit. They're like, oh, it's not getting to me. This guy's dialed in.
Now, is this right? You and the shoveler broke out some old movies on the weekend.
Well, we made, oh, no. Yeah, you went back and you looked to get everyone all excited. You went back and watch your wedding video.
Remember this? In Rob Ray's backyard in Buffalo?
Oh, nice.
Great weather.
There's the shoveler.
Biggest day of your life, right?
In the covenant of marriage.
Covenant.
Do you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him.
In sickness.
Now, who's your body that have the rings, right?
And forsaking all others, be faithful to him.
So, DER is coming up, and bring the rings here.
The rings, please.
Here comes, Derr.
There.
Oh, God.
No.
Are you okay?
Oh, my God.
This is why you don't do it.
by Rob Ray's pool, Rhett. What the hell?
Fake. I'm calling fake.
Well, I mean, Rhett was there. You can ask him if it was fake.
The trip is too fake. And they both go?
Jack?
Yeah, super fake.
Ret, what do you say?
I'm looking at the girl in the yellow dress. I don't know.
Looks real to me.
Say real dress. She's, look at them. They're all the few of them.
The bridesmaids.
A bunch of bananas there.
Like power play goals, Dean.
Love bananas.
Good for you.
Put you in a good mood, they say.
Speaking of Rob Ray's pool, he's got that camera out there, right?
Because he knew that your kids, you sent him over there.
Look at what the camera caught as well.
There's Razor having a little nap by the pool.
He doesn't even know.
Wake up, Rob.
You're in great danger of killing a bear.
Are they native to that area of New York?
Lots of black bears.
They all come in from the finger lakes, don't they?
Yeah.
That's good now.
Razor never liked the burns anyway,
but I think he's going to wake up now
that his shoes getting in touch here.
Oh, hey, you.
Yeah, smart bear.
Don't let Razor mess with you.
He'll take a few.
But once he gets geared down, you're in trouble.
If he's already starting with his shoulders off,
you're toast.
Speaking of bears,
I know you went fishing on the weekend, right?
We had some great footage here.
What are the odds of the fishing for?
Hey, me.
Hey, bear.
Eber.
Eber.
Eber.
Eber.
Eber.
Were you alone, right?
Or did you have some pals with you?
I was out there alone.
It's a little bit of nice.
Even the bear settle down.
What's the bear doing there?
Bear's catching fish.
Oh, you're right.
He stole his fish.
What a jerk.
See you, bud.
You didn't catch any, but that's pretty cool.
You cut the footage.
Imagine.
I don't need to catch a fish that badly.
Just say, hey, bear.
Yeah, bear.
You feel dying today?
There is a thing, though.
If you turn and run, you're now encouraging the bear to chase you.
That's kind of how they're wired.
No, no, no.
This person that's out there knows that this is part of the thing.
Okay.
He's in Alaska, for sure.
On a river where the salmon are spawning,
and there's a gazillion grizzlies around.
They're well-fat.
He's calculated it because it is, you know, the spawn, the run.
I just...
More risk than you're willing to take, and I...
That's right.
This is more your speed for 50.
The old risk reward.
There are no bears here.
Brett speaks many languages.
And he's looking for something under the rock here.
Right free.
This is the fingerlips.
Where's this Brad Creek from where before you moved?
Doesn't like that looks like you're fishing for rocks.
I don't know what you're going to catch there.
What are you singing, right?
Is that some sort of a fishing song?
Yeah, it's a bit of a prayer.
Right.
It's like your mantra.
Yeah.
Oh, there's the end of the song.
Now we got all something.
What's under there is really grunted?
A little fit.
Oh, yeah.
That's an eel.
You like eels, Dean?
Nope.
Electric?
Just don't know.
So what do you do with it now?
Fish bump?
I'm going to knock it out pretty quick
for it can do something to me.
Then what do I do with it?
Babe, look what I got?
Get out of it.
the house. We'll leave now. More fishing. This might be down with, uh,
it's in Florida or where's this? No, this is on the boat. This is the finger lakes again,
Rhett. Catfish apparently out there. Wow, I didn't know that. Yep. Okay, let's drag this catfish in.
It's the shoveler. Still not afraid of water. Doing some play for credit. Yeah. Keep it out of the bottom
on the screen here. You're going to see this catfish come up.
Yeah. They're off the bottom. It's a little bit tough. Yeah. They're off the bottom.
It's a big counter.
Oh, gosh.
It's a gator rat.
Don't fall in.
Please don't.
He's got his toes exposed there.
Give me them toes.
That's what I'd be saying if I was the gator.
Hey, you?
Give me them toes.
Give me them toes.
Down in Florida, of course, Cup final, day off.
Cup final game two yesterday.
Frank's on the pontoon.
Frank at the pontoon.
They're at the marina.
our Rett's trying to get some fishing in.
Tarp's off.
Bulldogs barking.
Oh,
what are those?
It's flying.
It's a tarpa.
That looks like a shark in there, too.
I don't know that's a.
Oh, boy.
Yeah, it hauled them in.
Those are your good gym shorts, too.
That's tough.
Yeah.
It was the start of the day.
It was embarrassed.
Not good.
So hot and humid.
What are you going to do?
What's a guy?
do what is a guy to do yeah uh gators down there we know that uh i don't know that this is a good move
uh at what point are we worried or is well past because this doesn't seem like a good move she's not
splashing i think they like the splashes right got some treats that's a big animal
wherever than i am voice who's a good boy who's a good boy i think some people have
Florida think you can domesticate a gator.
That's got to be the only explanation here, right?
Look, I've trained them.
I don't know how many years left living when they start thinking this,
but there's many that start.
I believe that.
I feel like at some point,
we're going to exhaust the internet of...
I thought that would have happened months ago, to be honest.
But then here's the thing.
Some people, they don't even realize how much gators are in their lives in Florida.
Let's check it out.
A collection of that happening at all.
At all.
This store sells some good liquor.
And I drank a lot of it that night.
The viral video shows Robbie Stratton running through a convenience store with an alligator in his hands.
He takes the animal in the beer fridge as well.
I don't even remember coming up here.
We asked Stratton where the alligator came from.
No clue.
I literally came to the store and he was in the back of the truck.
He told me what I did was stupid and I'll be facing some charges here soon.
Probably go to jail.
Probably not.
We'll see.
He says he regrets his decision and he's been in contact with the FWC.
Food and Wildlife Commission?
I'm guessing.
Right.
Fish and wildlife.
Florida.
Florida, man.
Florida, man.
Dought to be glad he didn't run to this guy because this guy's not getting carried
into a beer for it.
They just don't die.
They just live forever.
Let's let him kill him.
Oh.
A couple of apex predators hanging out, right?
No big deal.
We can have a go?
You're in a rush to get down there, hey?
You want to get down to Florida quick.
Yeah.
And that rink backs right on to the Everglades.
Right on the Everglades.
Like it's literally the parking lot trees and parking lot, highway, Everglitz.
Bold.
Not an issue for here, this part of the world.
Don't have any gators up here.
Not yet.
Not yet.
We do have like Cougars or Mountain Lions, though.
And I don't know who this is, but check this out.
that's about as fast you can get a tailgate up fellas whoa i got a question what's he coming out of
there what is it's just like the grill of the car oh he's in a he's hiding under the car and they're
pulling him through some sort of a grill there that's who that's not a Honda because no no no
Honda's so durable thing would have just bounced right off yeah they got respect for the
the Honda brand they're not they don't mess around with the hondas huh what do you do when you
get somewhere with that thing in the back of your truck.
What kind of a game are we playing?
Because I'm playing not it.
I'm going to do the first one to say that.
There's a prank to be had.
Hey, I, uh,
Hey,
I got a case of beer in the back for you.
Coming in on Friday.
Got a 30 pack of Bud Light,
back in the pickup and go grab for me.
Florida man.
Oh.
I feel like you think you've solved the problem,
but it's only just begun.
You've helped someone.
Yeah.
Now you're just for yourself.
God are taking care of for you.
So are you going to take that somewhere?
Take what?
What's that you got there?
It's in the back of your truck now with the thing.
Now what are you doing?
Hmm.
Hadn't thought of that.
Shit.
Florida, man.
Homework back there.
Yeah.
Parkour.
You don't practice.
You just do it.
That's what we talked about last week.
So someone's got a camera on here.
Going to Europe with these buildings.
Again, you're one for one and you can retire.
That's what we do, right?
I wouldn't. No, he's going back for more.
Risk reward.
Oh.
These calculations.
It does look soft down there.
Oh, yeah.
That's what you're doing?
I'm alive.
That's a hard pass for me.
that's what Dean was doing Saturday when he couldn't get to the soccer match.
That's all right.
That's a hard pass for you, is it?
Not going to do that.
No, not even.
$1 million.
Nope.
No, I think.
Rhett submitted this to the Pinn report.
Thank you, Rhett.
Appreciate it.
I don't know if this is a highlight real from last year in Strathmore, because, you know,
they get the running of the Bulls there.
They get the big origin of every day.
People get pissed up and excited.
and
but I think they probably
had a better security
in this.
This might not strive.
I'm free.
The bowl was like.
Oh,
oh,
no.
No, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no.
No.
Oh!
Oh, no.
No.
No.
He's having so much fun.
This is the greatest night of my life.
At least he's born free.
American ball.
Yeah.
I?
Babe, I know it's not really your thing, but I'm taking you.
We're going to the rodeo.
I got us great seats.
We're like right on the gate thing.
Jane and Sal are coming.
It'll be two couples.
We'll have a blast.
No, just nice for sure.
It's, yeah.
Can anything Western?
Yeah.
No, it's, you're going to love it.
You're going to want to go back.
We're going to have a hell of a time.
She's dead.
I hope she's not dead.
Not dead, but not dead.
Could have been.
Not dead.
Mystery box time for Dean, which is always fun.
Tim Nacki lost his ghost pepper bet.
The video comes up for tomorrow's show.
We'll be doing that one.
So you've got Dorn the foodie or the mystery box.
Dorn.
Now what's Dorn again?
Dorn's a black lab.
I believe in Japan or Korea.
Boring.
Dorn is boring.
And Dorn loves, he's a healthy eater.
All four food groups.
So you want me to choose between a video of
Dorn eating food dog eating food or mystery box.
Yeah, now it's not dog food. It's human food that the dog.
Oh, really? That's why it's so wildly entertaining.
Well, I love dogs. Yeah, yeah, you do.
Love dogs. Yeah.
Especially labs. Labs are such a good dog. Great dog. Black labs. I grew up with
black labs. Love black labs. So good. So you're going to pick.
With that in mind, yeah. Yeah. Okay. Mystery box.
Very good. Well, it's not a human eating dog food, but, uh,
I mean,
I mean,
Oh,
get to see
that I'm
for the whole
uh,
would give me
a whole lot of
yeah.
Awesome on there,
Dean,
I need your tip too.
Oh,
yeah.
Uh-huh.
And yeah,
there's spicy.
Oh, yeah,
there's spicy.
Really chewed.
Really chewed.
Really chewed.
Oh.
Oh.
appreciate that.
It's all over, D.
You can now look at your script.
Oh, dorn.
Blacklap.
Right there.
Oh.
What's on your phone?
You'll be distracted there.
Anything.
Anything that is on my phone is better than watching the mystery box.
And finally, we got some buddies on the weekend that understand what has to be done.
The Barnburner blonde is inside of us.
It is in Calgary.
Origin Calgary opened up and look at this.
One of our boys is living in the dream.
He's got a signed Warner pitcher.
And he took,
he took advantage of that Philip your growler for 10 bucks deal going on at Origin Calgary.
Well done.
And then we had other buddies.
There's Mike on the golf course.
He says he just put an eight on his golf card,
but that's all right because he's got some BBBs with them on the card.
That's beergrass.
Our pals is.
I guess they're stocking the trip to be.
Good work, fellas.
Hey, listen, you want to take pictures of the barn, burn, burn, or blonde.
We'll put you on the damn show.
Take a picture.
You send it in.
We'll put you on the damn show.
Put you on the show.
It's easy.
There's your Penderport.
Brought to you by Village Honda, Northwest Auto Mall,
pre-owned vehicles, all makes, all models, all budgets,
over 90 units on site.
500 more inside the dealership group.
You can drive around if you want.
Go ahead.
I guess we'll know why you would.
Drive around, drive around.
Or you could go to Village Honda.
unstop automotive destination and your dealership for life.
That's how that goes.
Oh, that one's done for the day, isn't it?
Yeah.
Another, I got an extra blue one here.
That's right there.
Where is it?
It's behind you.
You're screwed.
Oh, I can kind of see it.
I got to pick up a pen.
Don't hear yourself now.
Oh, there we are.
It's up for the rest of the day, right?
boxing
well you who you who you who you fighting you pack it up you
if Mike Tyson can't go I'm I'm next on the list
yeah you and but I really wanted someone to beat that guy up reds you and Jake
you got bad shoulders can't golf you're not beating up that guy I'll get all
drugged up of you fine so what happened he Mike hurt himself
in training yeah I don't know what he hurt himself I don't know what he's been
pushed back
back.
Yeah, I'm postponed as for a yeah.
Yeah.
November now, right?
That's okay.
Mike's still going to be a lot older in November than the guy he's fighting.
Yeah.
This guy really gets to stack the deck for himself, doesn't he?
I'm going to go pick a guy who's...
He's not dumb. He's going to make millions and millions again.
Yeah, yeah.
He's going to make tons of money and he gets to say he beat up Mike Tyson and no one will mention
that he's like 30 years later.
I'll take Tyson.
I hope Tyson wins.
That'd be great.
put that guy on the mat.
I need to be convinced, I guess.
And I know that it's a legit fight.
That it's not a exhibition or a showcase.
You want to be convinced of that or you know that that's the case.
I want to be convinced of it.
No, there's some real weird rules where he can't knock him.
Yeah, didn't Mike fight Roy Jones Jr. or something?
And it was just kind of a, hey, I won't punch you if you don't punch me.
Yeah.
Okay.
You're each going to make 20 million.
Nobody gets hurt.
I think that was the one where.
legitimately, Roy Jones Jr.
golfed 18 holes the day
of the fight.
Jeez.
Don't you have your fight tonight?
Well, yeah, but it's, it's just a
more of a case.
Such a great day.
I'm hitting it so well right now.
What people's face?
No, no, the ball. I'm just pure.
So pure.
No, our members here, we get to bring guests on
Tuesdays. So today's their golf day.
Speaking of which,
how's your golf game?
I have not played yet this year.
Really?
I need to get going. I am playing 36 holes on
Saturday and I have not played yet.
Huh. Because that's
what Dean's been doing. Yeah.
This is year for golf. I was out at
Spearbank Links
on the weekend.
Spearmint Rhino?
Spearman Rhino. Don't play your club out there.
Yeah.
Those greens are flat.
Trimmed right down.
Was that the...
Careful with your card with the cart there.
They'll double charge you for some things.
Yeah, they will.
RJ.
Jesus.
Do some Betway.
RJ loves a good golf game.
Loves a good golf game.
You want to keep going?
You want to keep playing?
Yes, I do.
Yes, I do.
Well, it's going to cost you a little more if we keep.
Can I tell you about my cats?
If we keep doing it.
You ever been to Disney?
Betway, get the Betway up on your phone.
Get it on your tablet.
Get it on your, whatever, your workstation, whatever you want to do.
Free bet up to $200 if your first bet.
loses, but here's the catch. Create a new account. Scan the QR code in your screen. Redeem that
bonus. Place a bet. No minimum amount required. And if the bet loses, you'll get a refund up to
$200. You can then use that money to bet to bet your favorite sports only available outside of
Ontario. This deal is. Here's my bets. A power play goal for the Oilers minus 110.
Goodness. So it just feels like it didn't have almost even.
I didn't happen last game feel like they're due and
Bouchard he's been a staple on the power play a single
power play point for him is plus 140 Bush bombs so there you go I'm
staying away from I don't know what to think about it all you know I'll text
noodles because noodles has been bang on the entire way did you like Florida
game one I'm sure he did okay I'm not sure but um I don't know how I feel about it
because Florida has room to be better but the Oilers were
pretty good to not get rewarded. Can Bobrovsky do it again? I'm not sure.
I'm going to jump on Florida over three and a half goals.
Look at you. I don't know that they necessarily win or not, but
look, I think there's room for some score here. Maybe they get to three and it's an empty
netter. I like the plus one 135 to get to four. And then we've been hitting this Vladie over
one and a half total bases plus 120. They're in Milwaukee. They're a game under 500.
They could get to 500 with a victory over the brew crew today.
lot he's been very good.
Boy, he's going to get traded, so he's trying to up his stock.
Not for a while, but yeah, please do up your stock as high as you can.
Some stock uping.
Yeah.
It was very quick turnaround.
We've reached out to Noodle Stradamus.
And he has tonight's winner.
Really?
He has it.
He knows he's going to win.
Not beating around the bush?
Edmonton.
I'll take Florida.
I like that, Brett.
Now, which, so which is five or seven, which game is your kid getting to?
Yeah.
Well, that's.
Because there's a game tonight.
A little late for that.
May have distracted enough.
Really?
Yeah.
Kids have good memories, though.
They're going to remember this for a while.
You can distract them, but he's going to say, dad, you promised me I could go to the Panthers game when they reached the final.
See, this is the catch.
He's going to spin that.
And I don't remember promise it.
shit. This is his hit. You're you're playing his cards for sure. I am. But didn't.
Didn't you throw this out as a diversion to something else? Well, so, you know,
if we don't, we don't, but maybe here's, here it is. I, it was a diversion for not bringing
him to Calgary. Right. That's what it was. And so, but now I'm sending him to Calgary next week. So.
Well, then you get the, you get the Florida game back. So it all comes back around.
You just wanted to go home and see his dog that you ripped out of his life and his friends that you took him
away from and you said no son but i'll bribe you with a professional hockey game on this side of
the continent he doesn't like running water does he showering is that it's not high on his list
and send him he doesn't let the sink the faucet run when he brushes his teeth you train him all there
is it still just wrapping things up if it's anything like the martin loop construction i think by
2027 will be just if you like a nice cold glass of water uh hold off you don't send him head to the
mountains and drink out of the rivers that's right fever fever still no good huh what's the time
fix did you see the pitchers no no it's a huge huge pipe yeah it's a big pipe uh who wins tonight
red you got florida i'm taking florida is that right they're going to put a stamp well
A stamp?
A stamp.
They're going to hammer a stamp.
They're going to put a stake and then mail that.
Yeah.
Then go out for steak.
To Batman say, here you pipe and smoke it.
Yeah.
That's for sure.
On the cup ahead of game one.
Really?
Focus.
Yeah.
Do you ever collect stamps?
Are you big stamp collector?
Not really, no.
Paper clips, stuff like that.
Hockey cards?
No.
Gold medals?
We couldn't afford things.
Right.
Oh, fuck.
keep hearing this.
I didn't have silk shirts or silk boxers.
No, hey.
Randy River.
Couldn't shop there.
Out of your league?
Way out of my league.
Or you bootleger?
Double R.
What are we doing?
San, the sand store.
Sand style, right?
Oh, yeah.
AA.
Sand in my hometown.
And there.
Yeah.
S-A-A-N.
What is it?
I don't know.
It's a lot of A.
But it's the only store we have in town,
so I guess we'll go in.
Let's see what we got.
That is the hallmark of a small town.
You had the sand on Main Street.
Yeah.
A successful small town.
Pharmacy, sand, and then the liquor mart.
I was going to say the motel, VLT, bar,
live entertainment.
Are they ever going to change that?
I was walking through the store here today with the booze and the beer and stuff.
And I'm like, so why in Canada can we not just?
Why are we so anal about it, Tim?
I read somewhere, I think in Manitoba,
where there's 7-Eleven is trying to give it a go.
They're trying to give it a go.
I get that it would be about taxation and government money,
but can't we, in today's world,
you're telling me that it can't just be figured out electronically.
They gave us the parks, right?
I don't know if you remember that.
Well, Kenny, during COVID, said, you know what?
Thanks for all your hard work, everyone.
You can now drink in the parks.
And during Stampede, you can drink early and everywhere.
Yeah.
And at airports, you can drink all the time.
Never stop drinking.
running water, a little trickier.
But if you want to start drinking
at 8 a.m. during Stampede,
you can.
It's a good tradeoff.
Jack, who's winning this hockey game
tonight?
Florida.
Rubberosky stands on his head again.
Oh, God. Go get some. He jumped
to the top of the Khan-Smith board after game one,
by the way. I saw the odds on Betway. You wait after
tonight. Which way is it going to go?
Let's go to win.
He's putting a stamp on it.
Well, by you, 150.
I've been hoping that weather's lost every single game this postseason.
I can't be rational on this topic.
No.
You're consistent.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Consistently obnoxious.
So Wednesday.
Is Hawaii?
No.
No.
We usually talk because I'm trying to wrap my head because noodles.
Nudes Wednesday.
Is, but not Wednesday.
What days he moving to?
Because he, it's, they're going to be, it's a game day in Edmond.
No, it's that, I don't know.
They're doing.
something in Edmondson on Wednesday.
They'll be doing panel stuff for sure.
So he can't do Wednesday and he can't do tomorrow, but we're going to try and
go Thursday.
Pre-tape early.
Well,
I set that note out yesterday.
That's right.
Yeah.
Do you remember what day?
Did you read that?
What does that mean?
Tomorrow morning.
We're going to pre-record noodles tomorrow and we'll run them on tomorrow show.
Is that tomorrow morning?
Yeah.
That's like 10.30 year time, cowboy.
And we'll throw to it on the show and pretend it's live or was the cat out of the bag now that you.
Feels like it's out of the bag, but, you know, we're pretty good at it.
That's true.
They'll never see it coming.
Right.
There is that.
Frigan,
that's good.
That'll do it.
The camera's annoying
me.
Is it?
Dark light, dark light.
Oh, is it? I couldn't tell.
All right.
Hit the button. Let's go.
I don't have the fucking button. I'm in studio.
With the camera that goes dark and light and dark
and light, I don't have buttons. I can't hit the Pinder
report. Well, at least you're happy about it.
Jack, hit the button.
Tickled. Tickled pink. Tickled. See you buddies.
