Hello, everyone. Welcome to the show on a Thursday as we get into it here for for Bet365,
presenting a sponsor of the program, game props, player props, totals, the money line,
never ordinary at Bet365.
And the super chat revved up and ready to roll.
Money headed towards the youth centers of Calgary, the money being your donations that you put in place
in the YouTube live chat during the course of the program as we bring in.
Tripod.
Retro and Pinder inside the McLeod Law LLP Studios.
It's the three fingers for it.
I'm going to hold up this.
So many strikes.
And if you can figure out what it's represent.
The Trident.
Mariners fan.
What it's representing.
I'll buy you a.
It's the Wutang Clan.
I want to give something to the fans.
The listeners, Dean.
Yeah.
Viewers, listeners.
Beyond the usual insights.
Yeah.
What could we give?
We'll give you the Steelers helmet.
How does this game work?
Do we have to guess?
I like Pinders guess the Seattle Mariners.
It's very trendy right now.
It's not the Wutane clan.
How many goalies?
The fight should carry.
It's not sports related.
I'm just going to talk to do with asteroids.
Yeah.
That meteor.
It's the three I.
Let's let us in for those.
The three-I Atlas.
Like, go.
Is that what it is?
Off air.
That's not what it wasn't representing.
But there's a meteor, as you were saying?
Yeah.
It's on its way.
We're done for it.
Oh, geez.
Yeah, have some fun.
Book your trip to Disneyland.
The end of the world.
No, don't.
It's too expensive.
RJ's going to Disney.
If there's like two weeks.
No one knows who RJ is.
What's going on?
Let us in.
Three months, Dean.
Three months till you know damn well what.
The fat man comes down the chimps.
Hey?
That's right.
You fat prick.
In today's world, with all those peptides and semi-glutides,
the ear is still pudgy isn't...
He's not listening to anybody's going to live his life the way he wants.
He does all things.
It's a magic he can do what he wants.
91 days.
Say rat, there you go.
Cut back, fatty.
Oh.
Cut back.
No, I thought you'd be...
I thought you'd be more understanding.
I want to be like you.
Yeah.
Give me a robe.
He hasn't...
He's not...
succumb to peer pressure.
Somebody buy me a damn robe, but I would just,
please don't buy him a robe.
Yep.
He'll wear it.
Because around here for sure he'll wear it.
A lot of chest meat on the show.
Nothing else in it.
Slippers over there.
I thought about breaking those out the other day.
I'll throw the robe on.
Just strutton.
In the McLeodlaw LOP studios.
Yesterday's visitor would have been disturbed if that.
Yeah, we had to, we had, because you don't know who might drop in.
Yeah, commie just popped in a week ago.
And if you're in here, Commando for Commodore, that is no Buono.
That would be a hell of a house code show.
Chris Comey famously wears after what, the Carolina Cup.
I would also take Rudolph and the sleigh to get,
so I don't have to deal with the traffic and the construction and the parking.
Yeah, I just drop right in.
Do we have a helipad on the roof?
Have you bought a flop house in Mardaloup yet?
I feel like there should be some deals.
No, no, not interested.
I'm actually.
Brett.
I know.
It's not going to last long.
No,
it's not going to last long.
Well,
here we are in the LLP.
Flames hockey last night.
We were discussing,
again, pre-show about the,
scintillating.
Electrifying performance.
Dean.
It does nobody any good.
I know.
For your condescending nature.
Preseason.
It's preseason hockey.
There was a fight for Christ's a scrap.
Boys were excited.
They're wound up.
They're into it.
I actually liked that part.
Yeah, there was a tilt.
There was one goal.
It started out okay.
And then he started to realize that, oh, the other guy might punch back.
I'm not interested.
Bigger, I noticed.
Yeah.
I'm not interested.
Are you going to punch back?
Oh, I'm out there.
Yeah, be a lot cooler if you didn't.
No, yeah.
Let's just make this a one way affair.
Yeah.
Because, I mean, he's not a fighter, I don't think.
Yeah, really.
He was the instigator.
Yeah.
He wanted it.
We can definitely take a look at it if you'd like.
It's better than talking amongst ourselves.
What is, so they're in Abbotsford.
I don't know that I've ever been to Abbotsford.
Well, it's got blueberries and beans and bongs.
Bongs.
Bongs, bullets, and berries.
Large Hells Angels community.
They like to hang out there.
Stay out of that.
If you don't burn, please.
I was there for nothing to do with any of that stuff.
Ryan Pinder of Calgary, Alberta, in your tan hoodie and Toronto Blue J hat.
That's an interesting thing for you say.
Okay, we pick it up here.
this period.
There's a power player for the Vancouver Canucks are moving it around into the slot
rebound is going to be there.
You know what?
One of the things they try to teach you, Dean.
When they do that.
Can I interrupt?
What are you doing?
Jack.
Just watch the clip.
Here you go.
Well, one of the things they try to, if you had the telestrator is don't let that puck
get passed through the crease.
Oh, again, son of us.
See, when that happened.
Yeah.
Tough on the goalie.
Tough on the goal tender.
Through the seam there.
Watch this.
Right through the slot.
Ah, son of.
Keper would have stopped.
There's some thoughts for sure on some of them
might have stopped performances last night.
That's a slow pass.
Golly should get across.
Oh,
Joe Ferribee.
Oh,
left.
No.
Take it on a Labbat.
There was a quick tap once.
Ow.
Ow.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh, I don't like the way you're way bigger than I thought.
Okay.
Tap.
Okay.
We're done down.
Hey.
Good stuff.
You.
You son have gotten you.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
another power play
Phil Heidel
Yeah see that pass through the slot
Dean
allowed to walk in
Oh it wasn't really
The slot was that's super
And it's power play right
You know power play for
Speaker can I make an observation there
Jacko
You want to push pause for a second
Back it up I got to use a Telstraitor here
Retro's what it's called
Yeah
Whiteout corner
Block the block it
Well he's down
Well he's up he tried to block
you just a bad job of shot block it's think about being on ice it's slippery you get going in one
direction yes yeah a blade's a point in this way no yeah watch now oh oh oh oh much the other thing dean
when you go it to block your next shot confront the guy don't just listen to yeah don't get out
there get out there don't let him walk in no flames are going to get on the board here boys
pass to the rebound that pass nice little
redirect from possibly there.
Oh, what a play.
He's the best.
I think he might even lock down
a fourth last spot. Possby. Possby. He's our man.
If he can't do it.
He's Dean's favorite.
And then Dean quittal. Yeah, well,
Dean is good of quitting on things.
Dryden Hunt in close.
He's got his, he's going to score. Look at this.
In the crease. That one accounted in 99.
Oh, wait. Maybe it would.
What a save. What a save.
Why don't you land on the goalie right there?
That's as close as they would come.
The post.
3 won the final.
Ah, son of a.
Yes, I won.
Under.
Thank you, bet 365.
What'd you bet?
Canucks, remember?
Is that what it was?
Canucks by 1.5.
Oh, he covered the puck line.
Oh, boy.
Jack wouldn't show it because he's too lazy.
He's been sitting on his hands all week.
Got his Boston Red Sox hat on just.
He was asked you that he was a Red Sox fan.
Were you around for that conversation?
No, that was at the soccer game.
Right.
It's almost like, what, are you, Red Sox hat on?
I was like, no, no, I will buy any hat that's not pirates until that owner sells the team.
So he's got like 29 other MLB hats.
Really?
Yeah.
And the Boston ones just grew up for this one.
It's interesting.
He's got an anti-pirate hat.
That's a Mattie at his favorite team.
But to wear it in right now.
But I don't, yeah.
I mean, it's kind of flying in your face.
Kind of disrespectful to you.
Oh, I know it's not intended.
I don't care about the Jays.
They can.
But you've got a Yankees hat.
Is that disrespectful?
No, no.
Let's just see.
I texted my father on last night and said, the Yankees get off.
And he said, no, I want them to win.
Right.
Because he's a fan of them.
Yeah, he's a big fan.
Yeah.
Well, you've been to it points in your life.
I could get there again.
Yeah.
If I go to Yankee Stadium, what am I going to do?
Well, we found the other team.
Because yesterday you were off on the Blue Jays because they were.
I'm still off.
Messing the bed.
You were saying.
How'd they do last night?
Oh, they lost again.
Oh, they pissed themselves because of the pressure.
How's it guerrero doing?
Hit the ball.
He's son of them.
Tough way to end it.
I don't know if anyone's.
I have it.
I have it.
It's very apt.
It was kind of out.
It's very of the last week where they've dropped six of seven.
Yeah.
So that's,
you know,
you go four and three there.
You know what?
They've learned from Detroit that this is achievable and you can do this.
So Detroit.
We've quickly pivoted away from the,
from the flames.
You want to go back to the flames?
Yeah,
anything from last night that's tough to play when you've flown in.
end day of a game. Oh gosh, got to be so hard. Especially when you're up against half an
HL team and an empty barn. Yeah. Because they, they practiced here and then flew in or they left
the game day exhibition kind of deal. Yeah. Um, if it's the hardest thing you're asked to do when
you're trying to make an NHL club, you should probably able to overcome. Yeah. Like if you're a veteran,
if you're Nazim Kaudry, that's annoying. He's not making that flight. It's all guys that are
trying to carve out a role in this team minus the minimum, which is like five vets. You know what?
I'd like you to open up on this a little bit more.
I like this side of you right now.
Let the bastards have it.
NHL job sitting there for you.
Yeah.
So it's like, oh, no, we had to fly on a charter the day of.
It's like, yeah, well, do you want to make the NHL or not?
Because you can get back on the commercial flights.
You can also bust the regulars if you'd like.
Now, in fairness, I don't know if they're bad.
It's just more like.
But I don't know if they're trotting out the excuse of game day travel.
I think it was rent.
Correct.
But it's.
So I mean, it is not a right game in the radio.
That's my excuse to make it, that it was unwatchable.
Yeah, I think that was,
Rett was like,
wow,
it's that game day travel.
That's why Rhett didn't go to the game.
I wanted to watch,
but I knew that they'd travel.
Yeah.
So I knew they'd be a little off and I couldn't.
Yeah,
like I'm just trying to find a battle here.
Like,
I guess,
Fairbion.
Like,
if Cairns and Morton are going to be strong,
could they usurp like Justin Kirkland?
What about Hansick?
Is Hans.
Should Hansick not be trying to make it?
If you're the flames,
I'd rather you play Hansick at center in the top half of your lineup,
every night at the HL until he earns a call-up.
Like, do you want him to be your 13th forward?
I don't.
No, I wanted to play well enough where they have to insert him in the lineup.
So who's he?
I don't, I would love to see it as well.
I don't see him displacing any of the guys that they've done.
See, I don't like this.
We've done this too often in training camps where, well, even if they have one,
which they rarely do, some kid comes along and oddly enough has a good,
well, we'd love to keep you.
No spots.
Let's play the game.
Are you going to put Joel Fairby in the press box for him?
No.
Are you going to put Shargovich in the press box for him?
This is not a fun game.
No.
Are you going to put Lomburg in the press box for him?
Probably not.
Are you going to put POSPasel in the press box for him?
Doubt it.
Are you going to put Klapka in the press box for him?
Not if Klappka looks anything like you did down the stretch.
That's your bottom six wingers minus Frost the center,
and he's clearly not at Frost level at this point yet.
So I just like, Hans can be great, but unless he's undeniable,
the best thing for them is trying at center in the A and go put up some points in the American
Lake, right?
I thought you liked this.
You just said you liked them kind of taking runs.
Well, I like taking runs.
Let that pony run.
I like that side, Amanda Marshall, but I don't like, I don't like when all the spots are
taken.
They have too many wingers who said it for two years.
Why don't they trade something?
They re-sign Boston, so you can trade it in.
A number one center back.
Like if you like Cairns, you like Morton, you like Kirkland, you, you like Kirkland,
Do you expect the Hansick Gridden or like any of those guys to pop midseason?
Where are you putting them?
Let me submit this just to keep the conversation.
You know our buddy, Darren Haynes, long time reporter around the Calgary Flames.
He had this tweet last night.
Lots of whatever it is.
Lots of swirling chatter about upcoming decision regarding Rory Karens, who is now waiver
eligible.
Between his NHL call up in January, I'm now just quickly paraphrasing.
Two preseason games this year.
The sixth rounder from 2020 has one goal and six.
six assists in seven points in his time with the flames.
Whatever.
Last year as an HL all start,
61 points and 63 games.
In this economy,
goals starved,
you don't want to lose a 23-year-old point producer.
Well, if he's a quad A guy, you can lose him.
Is he in NHEL?
That's the question.
And so yes.
But for the flames in their spot.
Yeah.
Do you put a little bit more value in a guy who has shown
very well at the AHL.
Maybe. Find his stats, Jack.
Find like this, the hockey DB.
Like, he's a talented offensive player.
He's absolutely an elite HL player.
Where do you put him at the NHL and who are you taking out of the lineup?
Elite HAL players can't make.
Lots.
Like, there's tons.
There's guys that make really good money to play in the A&A
that are never going to be NHLers because of one flaw that they're missing.
And for Karens, there's always been questions about his conditioning and that he can't
really defend.
Oh, he wasn't Topps?
He was definitely not tops.
No.
See, but if he showed up, it was tops, I would question that too.
The hell's going on?
I think you'd like it if he showed up.
He was not top of the table?
No, that doesn't mean he can't be a good player.
But, I mean, there are guys that absolutely filled in it in the American League that never turned into good NHLers.
We saw it with Matthew Phillips.
All right, here we go.
118.
It's a lot of points.
Yeah, it piled it up in the O.
That's a big jump.
Yeah, I think he, he, you know, he,
So for those that are only listening, he doubled.
Sue Greyhounds in his final season had 118 points in 67 games with the Sue.
I think he went back as a 20.
I'm trying to.
Yeah, it must have been.
First year pro, he ends up spending most of this time in the East Coast League with the Rapid City Rush.
He's pretty much a point game guy there.
Goes to the Wranglers, 32 and 54.
And then last year, 61 points in 63 games.
Yes.
And then on a short stint, had four assists in five games.
and like two in his first game, right?
Yeah.
He's a talented offensive player.
Can he keep up?
I haven't noticed.
Skating's not a strength,
conditions is not a strength,
defense isn't the strength.
So when you're measuring him against a Kirkland
or a posthal,
that's where I think it gets hard
for this guy to make the team.
Never mind Morton.
Well, he's not pospousal, though.
No, and so it's like,
if you're picking between the two,
you just gave pospsoil a two-year extension
at pretty decent money.
I wonder,
like I think we'll see him on waiver
pretty quick, like before the season starts.
Because those stats are all correct.
Right.
But I also won't be surprised if 31 GMs say,
we're not claiming out.
Yeah.
And that's sort of the mark of a quad A player.
Very good at the first developmental level.
Can't, you know, crack a top league roster.
Was not a great night for the Miramanovs and Beans of the world?
A lot of vitriol spewed at them on the Twitter machine.
Jake Bean got hit hard.
along the sideboards left the game, did come back.
Was not,
they have too many of those guys.
Yeah, those are your seven, eight, right?
They have too many guys that aren't good enough to play in the NHL.
If you wanted to be like an Elias Salovia of them play really well,
I'd love to see one of these guys on waivers because someone might just take them.
Like that guy can go sit in the press box and eat popcorn.
You don't need two of them here.
But man, they both make too much money is the other thing.
Like, no one's going to waive those guys for,
What's a mural make?
I know Bean makes one-seven five.
Well,
Muriel's one plus.
They signed them to an extension.
Not long as it got here.
There's a little money,
though,
contract going last year at this time.
What's that?
But I mean,
what is Miramano?
He played,
you know what?
Like,
as crazy as it is it is,
like Miramanov spent over a third of a year.
We have this conversation all the time.
And it's a tip of the Captain McKenzie Weeker.
It doesn't make him any better or worse.
The fact that he spent time there.
It's a coach's decision.
It's how much,
what kind of depth of,
you got it's i'm literally suggesting point on waivers you don't need to have this fight with me i want
murro on wait okay is that clear yes thank you it's fine it's just you bring that up well he played
second no no minutes because i was s talk i know so he was just trying to no but look you had to give
it a try he was always a project not a prospect in that trade there are some tools but he's not
an offensive defenseman and he's not terribly physical and isn't defend that well so what are you
you we're hoping one of those things would be the case give me that list well well you
So he's like, oh, he used to be a forward.
He must be an offensive defense.
He was like, no, there's no points there.
And I'm like, okay, well, we're playing him on the third pair.
Can he be?
No, that's not really a strength.
Well, is he really physical?
No, he's not.
Okay.
Well, we'll see you on waivers in the fall.
You got to find a role, Dean.
Everyone's got to be.
But to be fair, like, that's kind of the spot the Braden Pahalls and Joel
were when the flames got him off waivers.
They were guys that you're like, yeah, if you're in a pinch, they can play, but they're not
everyday NHLers.
And since those guys have come to Calgary, they've proven to be an HAL.
I'm going to beat a dead horse today.
No, I'm actually, and I'm not saying, I'm saying we.
I agree with everything he's saying.
I do too.
That's what I mean.
We're going to be a dead horse.
We're back to the same thing.
Oh, we just talked about the forwards.
Well, there's no room to bring anyone in,
even though no one's really that good or standing out.
I don't know.
I think their third and fourth line could be really good.
And that's the problem for someone making this team.
What the,
are you talking?
Like, I think Frost, Ferribee, Sheringoveich could be a really
good third line when you look around the league where most teams have to pay superstars huge
dough they have to like skimp on their yes but that's not that's the problem i think okay if you're
the third line center because mac david and dry sidle are ahead of you oh yeah that's that is some
serious depth yeah i'm not saying the flames four groups good what i'm saying is it's going to be
hard for someone to crack the bottom six because i think it's a good bottom six their top six is not
good they don't have a top line their top line would be a second line on most teams this is what i'm saying
No, and I know what he's saying.
Yeah, I know exactly what he's saying.
Because I do agree.
It's not.
Yeah, from giving check marks to the fourth line, even, we just don't have a top top.
Yeah.
It's not giving check marks at the top six guys.
It's saying that in a, all of those guys should have better seasons you'd hope than they had a year ago.
It was a came in injured.
It was not good for Sherry and Robich.
Farby has shown in the league that he can play better than he did.
I mean, you got to score 30 in the sleep in terms of offense and Frost.
Well, anyway, so we were talking about the D and.
dump some of the
I want to see one or both of those guys
and waiters. Bring the kids.
Like honestly, I don't.
Perik's going to take one of the spots.
It's because when you look at right now, just looking on.
Yeah, but start building together.
Don't just bring,
let the kids play.
Like I wouldn't be surprised in the spring if you've got
Brestev having games played in this league and you're
ready to cut bait with both, if not one of
Bean and Mirama. I do wonder if Brestevich
is going to be just a good,
steady. They want him here.
You look at this.
or five guy when you look at his age in the A and his production position like it projects
nice yeah he's not going to be a star but he's he's a very nice pocket that he had that one year
with real gaudy numbers right so yeah look at this guy is I don't think he's going to be that at
the NHL level but I think if he can evolve that other part of his game and you'd be able to say jay mckee's
coach yeah that's right it's the mckee bump yeah it is yeah um he just he looks like a guy that
is going to fill a role here for yeah for for a while so if you're there picking between
and Miramanov and Bean, who you know exactly what they aren't at this point.
If Pristevich gets off to a good two-month start, like, yeah.
Yeah, so Bean has one year left at 1.75.
Miramatov, one year left, 1.25.
Yeah, it's like.
And they're both.
You're hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I'm, yeah, I can get out of the Bean and Miramanoff business today.
If I need to, I'd be fine with that.
I like what Pahal does, but we even saw that last year.
They really did not move him up.
He's a third pair, right shot guy.
He was in that.
Third pairing.
And they kept him there regardless of.
what was going on above. And if to be fair, like when you think about the identity of a third
pair, like he does it well. He's physical. He's not afraid to scrap. Very simple game. Don't give him a
ton of minutes. He's, he's your right shot third pair guy, period. What are we going to say the retro?
God love. Yeah. Cause Sasker's business. Yeah. Good Sasker. What were his?
Well, I don't want to see. Because I, 14 minutes was his average 14, 14, 14 a night.
That's fair. That's it.
fifth six defenseman should get yeah perfect that's that's where he needs to be and that's a good
fine that's a waiver pickup you turn them into a third pair guy great work it's not sexy it's not a star
it's better than what being in miramatov can do on those third pairs yeah you could have called me
could have called you for what to play some insights on why you're spending money on some of these
dopes that's what you're i don't want to say dope because you're real good people good guys good guys
You gotta have a good guy in the room.
But dopes, like, people don't understand.
You don't, you don't mean that they're stupid or anything.
It's just kind of, it's almost kind of an endearing.
Like, we're all dope.
These dopes.
Much of dopes.
It's not a derogatory.
It's not even a dope smoker.
That's not.
We're not, we're not doing with that either.
But you look at that D for, like, Weiger, Ball Anderson, Hanley,
Bean, Miramanov, Pahall.
Well, Perek's got to be in there.
Sorry.
So, okay.
So we're going to move one of you for Perek and that's, you can make that, you can
you can move those argument that if Pereck.
if Perak steps in, you're kind of like, okay,
if you had another kid that you think might be able to be a player,
you're,
get rid of the dead weight.
And I've,
again,
I feel bad because they don't need to get stepped on.
They're just doing their best.
And their best just isn't an HL caliber.
Yeah,
there's seven,
eight defensemen when you talk about being in Muramano,
they just are.
Yeah.
And it's like,
it's,
there's been enough runway,
they're at an age where it's,
you kind are what you are.
Yeah.
You're not 21.
Listen to names again.
For the D.
So, like, the way I would draw it up, if it's fair.
Go ahead, Ryan.
Like, I would love to see a little bit of Perak and Wigger.
I don't care about paring.
I'm just saying for one to six or seven.
In the organization, if you were, you're not, but we argued about it.
If Anderson was staying and you went one to seven, how does your D-Corp look?
D.
It's, like, how are you grading it in the league?
It's okay.
It's not great.
I think it's middle third.
Like,
like,
Uyghur's a very good defenseman.
He does pretty much everything,
and he had to play with a dope for the whole season,
whether that was Miramano over Hanley.
Do we want to explain dope again?
We just explained it.
That one felt like it was a bit more.
A little more derog.
He literally played with a waiver claim level player the whole season.
So kudos to Uighur.
You had Ball and Anderson together the entire season.
And then what you're left with is Pahol and the third pair with,
well,
this year,
So that makes your 7-8 being Miramanov.
I just don't see them having Zane here and in the rafters more than he's playing.
No, I don't want to.
I'm,
I'm,
I'm,
that wasn't the point of what I was.
No,
no one's saying.
It was,
it was actually that if you listed those players,
I don't,
yeah,
you don't,
maybe you aren't top third,
but I would,
that's not a bad list of defensemen.
Especially if Porek looks comfy.
Yeah.
And that,
yeah,
that's a big piece of it.
And do you mean,
I guess like you mean today or are you talking about as you move forward what I'm saying one to six if
per X capable he's in there if he's capable you're going that decor is solid if Hanley Pahall's your third
pair yes that you're happy with him if ball Anderson's your second pair that's great and if weger
and Porek could make it work and that's the big or whatever the four interact those top four
if Porek can keep up there and interact and he drop down to five sometimes but effectively
on the PowerPoint, whatever it happens to be, the decors.
It's tough to see a pathway for being a Miramanoff to get significant time.
That's kind of the brass tax of it all.
You'd rather not.
And then if you're a guy like Elias Salobio, it's like, well, shit,
this is a guy that you might want to see a little more.
But I'm trying to, I'm trying to.
He's young.
You don't know what necessarily his ceiling is.
You absolutely know what the ceilings of being a mere man of.
See, I'm trying to start the argument that maybe we've been doing.
harsh.
Your goalie's good, right?
Goalie's top 10 in the league.
Goleys good.
If Perx decent and that's your sixth,
those are your top six defenseman.
You better get Anderson signed.
What's wrong with this?
Gee, he looks like.
Well, Anderson's the right shots.
If you're going to move them, that's correctus.
Right?
I get it.
Because, yeah, but then if one goes out,
yeah.
Injuries, is, okay, well, now we're bringing Bean or some of it's,
somebody's moving back up or, you know,
like if Weeger gets hurt.
for and if weger gets hurt you're painting the barn jack do you want to go for a drink these guys
they got to be negative all the time of trying to bring some positivity we're almost into the weekend
the goalie's good the decor solid bottom six is great bottom six we've got if we could just missing a
dry saddle that's all you need you know how sometimes and it happened this week we were maybe critical
ryan was in he was maybe a little grumpy and then we argued about the crack in for 45 minutes
on the flip side.
It sometimes I think you're in too good a mood.
And then you're too nice.
Oh, for Christ's sakes.
You know, I just,
I,
well,
no one's raising their hands saying they're nice.
That's a pretty good solid D right there.
That's a pretty good.
We got a goalie.
What's you're talking about?
Did you get something in those nachos the other night at the rink?
I'm trying to get out of this podcast.
But look,
they had 96 points.
Be nice for the flames.
Hey, Craig,
you got a good decor.
It is.
not a sexy roster.
But they had 96 points last year
and like who did you delete from that girl?
Nobody.
Nobody's gone that was here that made the impact.
Like, oh, your backup goalie.
Yeah, okay.
And I do think.
You're going to play Wolfmore anyway.
It's hard to see where the goals come.
But at the same time,
I do feel strongly that there's
real bounce back opportunities here.
You're without Zeri for a good chunk of the year.
You got nothing out of Farabee.
Sharon Govich turned
on at the end of the year, and even by the time the season was over, his goal totals
were pretty decent.
There's opportunity there for some individuals, three or four guys that you can realistically
really see having more offense in their game.
You could say that, you know, Father Time's undefeated and maybe you get 90% of the
production of Nazim, and that's still a really good year for a guy that's slotted one line
higher than he should be. You could say maybe you get 90% of Huberto, but to your point,
you'd expect more from Zeri,
you'd expect more from Fairby and Frost,
you'd expect more from Sharon Govich.
And when we saw from Klapka down the stretch,
like, I feel like there's
a bit of ceiling that they're going to explore there.
Like, I'm not saying he's a top six guy,
but like, who are we talking about?
Clapka.
Yeah, I'm going to leave Klapka out.
I want him to do well.
I just mean, like, if he had how many goals last year
in how many games, like he's going to score more
than the 10.
Why?
games because he's going to play more than 10 games well but how many did he get but then he's
taken somebody else six and 31 for the season i can look into his game log and see where
so 12 played a lot more than i thought geez um yeah i you go to 12 goals for clapka that's six goals
you didn't have last year you could also see somebody else was in the right but i mean
if he has 12 and 31 okay yeah like are you getting 28 out of huberdo again like i said like
90% of his production's reasonable same with kodos
but there's four guys minimum.
I'm arguing for a fifth that you can expect improvement from.
It would be shocking to see Igor not do better than last year,
given how pedestrian he was.
And he still ended up getting, what, to 17?
Yeah, Sharon Goldwich had 17 goals.
And it's just miserable fighting through injury,
never quite looked right until the last month's season.
Coronado had 24.
You'd expect to increase there.
I mean, for Zeri had 13 and 54 games.
Need more than 13 for men.
And Marty Pospisal.
I'm leaving him flat.
He had four.
I can't leave him flat.
You need one.
No. What was it?
Where were his points?
25 points in 81 games.
That's flat.
You guys have too much faith in these dusters.
He's all over the mind.
What has happened?
What just happened?
It's just U-turns in 180s every day.
And I don't know if he's being a prick or if this is CTE or like what's going on here.
Both can be true.
Yeah, it can be everything.
It's just a lovely potpourri.
I want.
I like,
clapka he was awesome there's going to be a spot it happens yeah just like we saw a
oh now i'm in the n-h-l and that's what i'm in the n-h-l that excitement is okay now i really actually it's
january i'm still this is great but who this is tough league i don't know pos-pals
has been around enough he's not going like i was surprised by a role and he they he got his
I honestly believe that they pulled the legs out from under him when they gave him shit for taking a penalty.
And your team wet themselves.
Yeah.
And he started to play a different way.
He had what, three or four stern conversation with George Peros and talked to people around the team, that effective.
Yeah.
But the reason he was in the league and was getting contracts is because of the way he played.
100%.
And so that's the rub.
So how do you stay on that line without crossing it too much?
Cross it.
But then you lose both.
So you stop playing like a bowl and a truck.
China shop.
Now what are you.
So, okay, the penalties went away, but so too did your offense.
Well, and your effectiveness.
Is he offensive though?
Or like, I know we all.
No, but just four goals.
Christ.
Get us 12.
Lomburg have.
Not three.
Well, but I'm not.
Why do we think that Pospasal is going to outsk, like, based on what?
I'm not, I'm not.
It just, he's a slightly more offensive version of Wombard.
Yeah, but you're going to get stuck in a role with a bunch of guys that.
don't score.
I get eight the year before.
So.
And it tumbled to four.
Tumbled to four was his first.
But I mean, eight and 63, four and 81.
But to me, it was, you noticed him every night.
What was this?
I agree with you.
But it wasn't based on his goals.
I agree.
I agree.
I don't run around.
I don't care about it.
So I don't care if you score goals.
You're fine.
I'm not, if I can say for, I don't, where is the offense going to come?
I'm not looking to clap before it.
I'm really not looking at possible support.
You know.
Morgan Frost needs more than.
three.
Farby,
Frost.
Like,
that's where it's got to come from.
You got to have some guys bounce back.
And maybe you get more,
you should get more of the Coronado.
you know,
what,
you get moving to 40.
Like,
he'll be a 30 goal guy.
You'll be thrilled.
Yeah.
That's a second full season in the league.
He's a 30.
You love that.
Hence the extension.
And Cadre with 35.
I'm not going to do that again.
I'm guessing.
Not happen.
Yeah.
Love them too.
Prove everyone wrong,
Nas.
There's the chip on the shoulder.
That's right.
That's right.
That's right.
Pindicle jote.
You're terrible.
Please, please.
I'm very impressed with this play beyond Daryl season.
It's been great under Huska.
Yeah, like the weakness of this team's glaring and obvious.
It's their top two lines don't look like top two lines.
Jeez, yeah, because if you work, that's what I was trying to get at, Dean,
until you shut me up.
I was trying to work my way up the roster from the, you know, the spine.
Noodles.
Isn't that?
Good.
B plus?
A?
I'd say a minus at least.
Okay.
A minus.
Like Wolf was unreal.
He's in the line now.
Grade your D-Core.
D-core?
B.
B-minus at the worst.
Yeah, sure.
It's middle of the pack.
Got to be.
Bottom six?
Solid, yeah.
B-plus.
B-plus?
So we're averaging out at a B-plus.
Yeah, all you're missing is the hardest thing to get,
which is people that can score goals in the league.
That's why your team doesn't score enough.
But they got good T and a good goalie.
We can overcome.
this is the team that Ryan Husk is to try to win three two with like let's not make a mistake
they're not changing their MO they're like let's go get five this is going to be structure
low risk structure hockey have a better power play they're going to make some change right
who was here last year running the power play was it two years ago same guys that we're here now
wasn't it that special host yeah mark savard went back to Toronto yeah um you know let the power play
be a little better.
Perick wants to be part of that.
Great.
That all of a sudden,
hey.
Was it the cowboy that got that straighted out?
I thought.
Cole was on the penalty.
Yeah,
we were talking about it the other day,
was because Cole came in after Larson left and there was some distribution of duties there for sure.
The cowboy,
we can stick with that,
eh?
Cowboys.
You know that of the sheriff.
I kind of like that too.
Yeah.
He looks,
he's just.
Does you have the mustache back or no?
I don't know.
We need to.
Can we call?
Can you go down to the dome to the door?
Yeah.
I'll text to Connie and see.
Important question.
Yeah.
Tell me about investment while I text about this.
I emailed investment,
going to get some results.
And you haven't a little chat on Tuesday.
It's great.
Chad with the doc.
It's like,
okay,
what are our risk factors?
What's in your concerns or family history?
Aside from the excessive yelling and drinking,
like what do we need to work on here?
Get you in for body scan,
all this.
You know,
men of your age.
Let's make sure the heart's safe.
and then, you know, we can say, look, you're in real good shape or we got to work on some stuff.
Preventative.
Rather than, you know, hey, I've got massive pain.
I need to go to emergency.
Let's get ahead of this.
You're not living in the caveman days.
You can get ahead of this stuff.
Yes.
You got a phone number there?
What are you?
Canada's first and only private medical testing company.
Sometimes to get this kind of testing, where are you flying?
What country?
Where are we going to get this?
Yeah.
It's done right here.
Designed for people who value their.
time and want to know what is going on with their long-term health.
Take control of your future with the most cutting-edge testing options available.
A one-hour consultation with an invest med physician, $199 from there.
You can plan out your course of treatment, comprehensive stream battery testing
that can identify individual health risks.
Maybe you get all the testing done and you get the clean bill of health.
You sleep soundly knowing that everything's great.
If you find a few, maybe, maybe a red flag, a little something we should look into.
Okay, well, let's go after that.
And I've said it a couple of times after my chat with Dr. Bailey.
It's not like they send you off.
Here's your results.
Good luck.
Yeah, here's what we think you have.
So you'll need to talk to some of the, no.
They are there with you for the long haul.
Mitigate your risk for developing serious illness.
And get that done today.
Yeah, I thought I had to fly out of the country and go somewhere.
And then my buddy told me about these guys.
Yeah.
And within them two weeks.
Even the conversation, and I, you know,
we'll obviously be doing some testing and that and going in,
but just the conversation,
it's like this, yeah, this is a different,
this is very forward-thinking stuff that these guys and girls are doing.
Invest dashmed.ca is the website to learn more,
to book for your consultation,
to maybe get a better idea of what's going on with your long-term health.
Uh, we'll find out about Trent call, uh, in a moment.
You got the answer.
Pike is in the chat.
He does have the dust.
Oh, great omen.
See, such a good old.
He takes nothing hold us back.
Top penalty killing a league.
Let's go.
That's been holding us back.
Let's go.
Number one.
That's the secret sauce.
Don't tell teams.
You know what they're going to call it?
The penalty call.
Hmm?
No, I'm okay with it.
Brett didn't like it.
It's half shovel at least.
No.
I don't like it all.
What's the whole?
front of that you've had that in the whole no it just came to me no bulls not buy my memory is good enough
for that shit i'm going to let it i'm going to allow it thank you being to let it stand i don't think
it's shovel worthy well it is a boomocracy a lot a lot is on this show it's our kind of benevolent
dictator over there um buy me a burger what would you like to uh talk about right now fantasy football
or uh what kind of boomocracy is this when you're asking us what we well see that's this all
Blevance is what it is.
You said,
ooh,
so I'm going to go there.
I think maybe something,
and again,
we've talked about people
love hearing about other people's
fantasy football.
Oh,
so great.
So great.
I'm in this 18th,
this week.
This week,
it's me versus Jack
in our media,
whatever.
Take him down.
Let's go.
Did you guys do waivers this week?
Yes.
Yeah.
Like everybody kind of does waivers.
Yeah.
Now,
do you know what uh and you're in the draft so you would probably know when waivers go through it's
called fab so at the start of the year you have a hundred dollars to spend and you can if you're
somebody you really want you go and spend so you you can probably go and get that guy free agent auction
yeah yeah so for the year you've got a hundred dollars to spend so it's like ooh am i going to go
i go like 10 on this one player it's week one it's week two that's 15 20 it's
I really put myself in a bind.
But you might have them for 12 weeks.
You might.
That could be a home run.
But then all of a sudden, if other injuries start popping up,
the waivers went through this week,
and there is a guy by the name of Trey Tucker,
who plays for the Vegas Raiders.
Three touchdowns last week.
Had a big week last week.
I think he had to.
Spicy tamale.
He's had a good start.
Yes.
He and Gino Smith have had some chemistry,
but it's a three touchdown day.
Whoa.
This guy is on waivers.
He's going to be the top target.
Megastod.
And I know for I think I put in a claim, but I didn't bother put just in case somehow,
I didn't say,
somebody's going to pay probably pretty big.
I'm not going to get in that bidding war.
Right.
Did you put a, do you know, did anybody else put in for Trey Tucker?
I might have assumed that he was going to be a huge number, so I might not even put it in.
Which is sometimes that happens.
So maybe you want to put a claim with a little bit there.
Jack went to the waiver wire and got Trey Tucker this.
Sweet.
So I will probably see Trey Tucker.
in our match this week.
I would have to play him, Jack.
It's Tray Day.
I haven't fought that far yet.
Oh, Jesus.
He was worth every penny.
You spent your entire season fab.
The whole budget.
On,
okay.
The free agency pool this year has been really crappy.
And I was like, you know what?
I'm never going to use this money.
I'm just going to put it all on Tray Tucker.
You never have to worry about it.
And I have to worry about again.
That's right.
You got them.
What are the odds he's better than Cedric Tillman the rest of the year?
I don't even know who is Cedric Tillman?
That's the guy you drop for him.
I know.
He's on the Browns, right?
Correct.
That's right.
Yeah.
I think he'll be better than Cedric Tillman, but it's not a guarantee.
It is such a jack move.
I love it.
I just loved it.
Yeah, $100.
Not 99.
Nope.
Like, did you think you could have got him with 90?
I bet you could have got him with 35.
Like, we could go in and see what the other top bid would be.
But I just wonder,
going with the hundred where you you had to have thought i might not get him for 95 yeah i don't think
i cared he didn't go that deep let's be honest how hammered were you when you put the i don't
remember doing yeah that's that's the answer when you drop mike tom more no that's that's me
he dropped cedric tilman oh is what we're looking at there thanks red i'm in the league too
i know you are yeah it's so scary to think yeah one other bid came in it was uh zero
$0 from Dean.
So $1.
Yeah,
I thought maybe I'll just put it in in case.
What?
But in case everyone assumes he's going to go for crazy money,
I'm not even going to bother.
That's kind of without a strategy.
Sometimes those guys can slide right through and nearly did.
I was just $199 shy.
I guess.
Jack could have used one one hundredth of his fab.
He could have.
Yeah.
All in.
So I play poker too.
Just all in or nothing.
Just push.
You and the Steelers all in.
Yeah.
Yeah.
that's good stuff yeah i enjoyed that a lot are we going to do something i feel like we should okay
he doesn't collect anyway it's thursday and red and i have not gone for a burger yet from our
burger bed last week don't eat all night jack's on pizza for six months at least jack
has been warning me that it's not like it's an indefinite period of time that you can
yeah you don't get to claim this just whenever you feel like all right
what are you going to put on the line with old jacko why is the shoveler foaming me it's love answer
you better take it yeah it might be an emergency hello my love
hello lover that's i'm in the hot tub oh sorry red wrong number um
red's gone for another two hours hello oh hi reds damn it just organizing the cleaners
that was distracting yeah it was yeah um
Enjoy your trade talker.
Yeah.
Enjoy his four catches for 42 yards this week.
We were talking a little bit of baseball.
This was a couple nights ago.
The Seattle Mariners clinched the, what the A-L-West?
Incredible stuff.
How do you not have the Seattle drop?
I love that.
Seattle.
Seattle.
Seattle.
Well, I don't know.
Seattle.
There was about 1,000 to 2,000 drops.
Well, I have a couple of drops.
So this was a couple nights ago.
Now, the big dumper.
Cal Raleigh
Our favorite
Our favorite
Love this guy
All start
Home Runder
Just hitting bombs
Left right and center
He's a absolute cult favorite
Yeah
In Seattle
So two nights ago
On the field
And on the broadcast
Who else are you gonna talk to
You're gonna talk to Cal Rale
About the big win
So this was going back to
Whatever a couple nights ago
Guys like you say we love you
Might as well go win the whole fucking thing
There's the Trudence
We do love
Cal Rale
we apologize for his
excitement
we do
are we almost past that
we are
I mean we're clearly not
we're fine with it
one more time Jackie boy
we say we love you
might as well go win the whole fucking thing
so that was a couple nights ago
and I like you say
who gives that we're not passed
whatever but we do
we do apologize
for the
yeah
So then last night.
Oh,
you got more Cal.
The big dumper back at it again,
hits home run number 58, 60.
60.
Gee,
short list of guys done that in the hail.
They are,
they,
it is going on in Seattle.
You may not like Seattle.
You may not like Seattle.
You may be people in your life and they love the Seahawks.
God,
I can't just because it hit this.
There's maybe been somebody in my life or it's been like that.
Anyway,
well,
Cal Raleigh hits,
who else are you going to talk to on a night
where a guy hits a 60th home run?
Talk to him too.
This was last night post game.
You know, I think last night, what I kept hearing from everybody on this team was we got more work to do.
And it seems like this team was just even more focused tonight.
Yeah, I mean, you know, I think most people heard what I said last night, you know, might as well win the whole fucking thing.
What a beauty.
Oh, the poor host.
She's like, geez.
Yeah.
Isn't that great?
That is awesome.
And as you can imagine, yeah, so they're losing their minds.
Make some T-shirts.
I was going to say they have been made.
They were made yesterday win the whole bleeping thing.
So they have got.
They're feeling good and they're rolling.
It is the anti-Js there.
They're actually peaking at the right time.
What a concept.
60 home runs is a lot of home runs.
For the main time in AL history.
Was it Maris, Judge, and.
Babe Ruth and Ruth.
Oh, other than that.
Just those?
Yeah, it's heady company for sure.
Jeez.
Yeah.
And I didn't know this man's name.
Big Dumber.
Yeah, it's been a big year for the big dumper.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think that's okay.
If before the All-Star game, you didn't know who Cala.
I love that too about him, having the kids and the family and the whole, that was cool.
Yeah, that's right.
His younger brother was catching.
He's like a late teens, early 20s.
the dad was throwing in the home run derby too not that that's unheard of it the home or no you see it a bit
but it's so cool as hell i feel like that and endeared the big jumper to fans that didn't know
if i could find a photo i was like i don't even like the mariner's but i think i might need one of
these shirts they're they're great cool yeah it'd be good to have shirts love shirts love shirts don't
great idea no one's thought of it i want to go shirtless it's not yeah talking about that this morning too
maybe we do a topless show three of us.
Ew.
Yeah, probably not a good move.
If we lose a bet, I'd do it.
Okay, now hang on here.
That's gross.
Dean.
Don't rest on.
We have to go outside downtown,
topless after we lost some bets in the cold?
That guy went outside.
Did I run around the block,
Topless in the middle of winter?
No, you went and stood on the corner with a sign, didn't you?
Can't remember.
Something like that.
I was in the twin fog.
Is that when it was?
First two years.
Don't remember anything from those two years.
No one was sleeping.
How's it now?
I sleep.
It's more just like fire extinguishers and handcuffs than not sleeping.
Wow.
Harding criminals.
Sexy time.
So what happened to the Jace?
Well, they didn't pitch well and they didn't get any runs.
No, that's good.
It's fine.
If you're not going to pitch you all and you're not going to score runs,
I can see you losing six or seven.
Ooh.
Bullpen day today?
I.
Well, maybe that's a good thing.
Maybe.
I will skip her there.
He's like, we got a, we had the playoffs.
If we've playoffs started today, we've got the ALE, we just need to relax.
Yeah, they want to bump that up and start them today.
That'd be great because the way it's going, they're losing ground.
They're not gaining ground.
But you got to love that, the wild card, don't you?
Go play a wild card game.
Hey, boys.
Beginning of the year, wouldn't we take it?
You're like, Skipper, we were six games up in the AL East.
month ago. What the hell are you on? We were doing so well. You were here. We dropped six to seven.
We were locked in for. Are you high as a kite? Do you remember August? August was tremendous.
God. They're terrible. And Stu was there? Who? Was he? Just go, yeah.
Bad luck, Steve. Uncle Stu. Give us a laugh.
I can't even do it. Good. Yeah, that's not the easiest thing to pull off. There it is.
Might as well go win the whole thing.
Signed, big, dumb.
No one makes shirts from your comments.
We should.
We tried once.
The people that decided to go on a partnership with us for a podcast,
don't understand the podcast.
So it's been a challenge to find shirts that will work for our show.
It's coming.
They understand.
Yeah, we're on it, though.
We're working on it.
I ran this past the Board of Commerce and they don't think, okay.
delete
uh why don't we
are you feeling good about life
are you just being
Yankees got behind the logger now
the Yankees are in the catbird seat
I don't like or want anyone to do bad
but oh it's okay maybe
how you feel about your Yankees
uh they can hit the ball
yes
pitching's been all right
pitching's been okay
it's a bit of jinxy pats
you yeah because you have massive influence on the new york yankee i'm aware that all of my jinksy
pants whenever it's i i'm not playing i'm probably not going to be at the game i have no impact on
it but it still feels jinxy you're not texting aaron judge before i bets no whatever it is
whether it's football whatever it's i don't really want to talk about it i actually think that
we have to get a therapist in to deal with this because it has nothing to do with jingcy pants it
has to do with you and your i need something negative to happen attitude
dude.
We're not going to enjoy this, just like yesterday.
Here's some insights to the people on the show.
Ryan sat down.
Oh, yes.
I get to go to the chiropractor this afternoon.
You're twisted into shape.
And immediately, I said, that is the exact opposite of what boomer,
I would say.
If we looked down and looked at our schedule, which we would have,
but if we did and said, oh, chiropractor.
Oh, for Christ.
It's right in the middle of the same.
the afternoon, even though we booked it.
That would still, that would be half full.
It's your worldview.
Does this happen?
Is it something pain or can something be good?
No, it's not that I want negative things to happen.
It's just I assume they're going to happen.
If there's a, if there's two ways it's going to go, I just assume I know which way, based on history.
Based on your life.
Based on experience and history and track record.
Jack, you're a new age hippie.
Can you teach Dean how to manifest some positive positive wives?
Yeah.
Well, I don't know.
Sit down with them here.
We'll keep the blinds closed.
Get some things going on in here.
You can manifest for Dean.
Well, let's look at it this way.
The year is we're in the early 90s and you have a dream and you follow that dream and you go to school and you start on this path, a career path.
Well, let's go back further.
You become successful and you're a good, you know, everyone's, hey, you figure.
What a talent?
And then ascending through your career and things are good and all this is happening.
And then suddenly you wake up and you're above a hair salon and war torn Mardaloupe with two A holes.
Three?
Three A holes.
Two and a half.
Well, you don't know which one I was excluding there.
There's two.
Jack.
I mean, we're pretty sure we know who one of them.
We know who the two.
The other two up in the air.
So, yeah.
See, I think you have to go back.
I think you got lots going on in green.
You just picked the wrong dream.
You've been chasing the wrong.
You know, the dogs, they chase the cars, the bumpers.
Yeah.
You're just chasing the road.
Yeah.
Dream should have been working for the Yankees.
Could it should have been an astronaut.
Go to space.
Yeah.
In fairness, though, good on, good on that youngster for realizing you're not going to be capable of a lot.
There's, I mean, there's not a whole, you don't have a lot of discernible skills or abilities.
Kind of.
that's part of the here.
Now is that, again, is that negativity?
That might be more...
I think a lot of people would love to be Dean Boomer-Wilberg.
It's just, you're not one of them.
Go full-screen on Boob-Bum.
I think a lot of people to watch show, be like, man, it would be so cool to be deep.
If you were one of them, think how great it would be.
No, I know. That's the thing.
What we do is like, imagine.
No. Like, wow.
There have been certain people's like, boy, they're very confident.
Maybe they don't have the reason to be, but they are very confident.
but maybe I'm on the other side.
That guy has no confidence.
There is zero self-esteem.
That's the therapist chat.
Maybe could have a little.
Maybe it's not, but has none.
Who would you rather be around?
The person that's cock of the walk,
but really is like, I don't know why.
I don't like arrogant pricks.
That's me.
And then there's.
What about Eeyore over there, though?
The other side of it's like, boy, that guy's.
That's why it's a nice balancing act for me.
Yeah, some days I'm up.
Somebody.
Yeah.
I got someone to relate with on.
either side.
Then you get a flaky former athlete idea guy in the middle.
It's a brilliant show.
Yeah.
It's magic.
Shut up,
and you know what,
Jack?
He chose to do this.
He flipped this way right into this.
You decided,
yes.
He was just driving.
He was walking down the street.
We didn't kidnap him.
Couldn't find parking on his way to the pub so he had to park far away.
Hey,
come on up here,
kid.
You want to produce a YouTube show?
Whether you're egomaniac or Eeyore,
I mean,
you're choosing to be here.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
See, look at that glass out full.
Love nice.
It's,
isn't that nice.
Let's,
uh,
now let's do the Pinder Report.
Let's do it.
Hit the sound.
Oh,
okay.
I'll,
onto a hipahe.
Rindindindipa.
Pindor.
Pindra Pindor.
Located in the Northwest Auto Mall,
your dealership for life.
Dean,
doesn't matter.
Whether you're looking for a brand new car.
You want a pre-owned.
All makes,
all models in the pre-owned.
Over 90 units on site.
And yes, that dealer group, we're talking hundreds.
The power of the Wood Auto Group.
It's your fingertips.
VillageHundred.com.
Right.
All right.
Let's get into it.
Calgary Flames.
We're in action last night.
There's always more Flames Nation.C.
Because while...
The writers are writing.
Redists are writing.
Reactors reacting.
Disjointed flames lose in Abbotsford to Canucks.
Now, disjointed Red, is that an injury?
Or is that...
Because you yesterday said this...
this team was disjointed too many olds too many youngs not enough primes it's a it's a clunky
roster you remember saying that yesterday you said it was a like a monkey roster is that what I said
maybe I do have CTE you yesterday so but today I was full of pop I think we could play the clip
I was going to say because today things are quite good we're giving out a minuses we got a
minus and a B plus 96 point team boys goal 10 goal is good right yeah it's good you look at that defense
That's all right.
Good.
Got some bounce back in.
Not too shabby there.
Top six sports.
Don't want to talk about it.
Okay.
We can just ignore that.
Yeah.
We got three or four potential all stars out there.
Nobody's perfect.
I mean,
this is great.
So Pike copied me.
I think he was talking with the game more than the roster construction,
but you never know with Pike.
He's very in depth.
He'll get into it.
Pike.
One of the guys that scored last night.
In fact,
the only got to score last night for the Calgary Flames was birthday.
Boy,
what is there?
Out of boy Zah,
happy birthday buddy
HBD
Happy birthday to you
Okay so we had Bobby Jeremy
What a terrible birthday to be a hockey player
This is a bad one
Oh yeah
Training camp
Stressed out over trials all the time
He should rest easy
I'm not talking about
But growing up
I mean the major junior season's already underway
But yeah it's the fall it'd be busy time
You'd rather have in the summer
Where you could really let loose like Brett
And go on like a seven day bender
And Nimbin Australia or something
And mine's January, and I still did that.
Yeah, that's right.
24th overall, he's 24 years of age.
24 hours in a day.
24.
24 beers in a case.
Yeah.
Crack a couple for cold months or rest.
No.
Stay focused.
Last two years, he's played 63 and 54 games.
Bobby Germany projecting him.
We did the Robert Munich projections for the season.
19 goals, 27 assists, 46 points.
Not good enough.
So I want you to go over or under 46 points,
and I want you to go over or under 63 games as NHL career high.
Today.
This is me today.
Tomorrow?
Yesterday.
Over.
Over.
Two overs.
I'll take the over as well.
Jack, over under 46.
Over.
Under.
That's the sign of curse.
See, you're rubbing off.
That positive energy that you bring.
That's full jinxy pants.
Anytime where there's consensus here, we're wrong.
That is,
or is that,
yeah,
news for Zeri today.
Yeah.
Uh,
over under 63.
Happy birthday,
Connor.
63.
Over.
Over.
Oh, yeah.
He can't be hurt anymore.
I'm done with that shit.
He's done with the injuries.
Jack.
Did you say over?
I haven't gone yet,
but.
Okay,
I'll say over to you.
Just positivity.
Sorry,
Connor.
Well,
if he's going to be over and points.
I'll say under.
He's not going to get over and points if he's under in game.
Ryan,
don't be silly.
What we,
There's no such thing as there's no jinx.
Is that right?
Okay.
Although probably he would appreciate.
What were the point totals?
He's projected for 46 by Germany.
Yeah, Bob.
Let's go by Bob's,
46.
But if he's 63, under 63 games, he's not getting 46.
I already said he's getting over 46,
which means he's got to play more than 63.
Connor would probably appreciate that.
It's just simple math.
Mucking about with his games played in his overall health.
It's like if you guys could just keep your sweaty myths.
We don't believe in Jesus.
pause off of my health.
Let's go to the NHL.
Some bad news for the Dallas stars.
Jamie Ben is dealing with a collapsed lung.
That's not ideal, right?
I don't think so.
No.
I think you need the lung for the air and the air for,
I don't know,
you need to breathe and stuff.
We're doctors,
I fill it back up.
We're going to I call investment
and figure out why lungs are important,
but I think they are.
Jim Nill,
surgery,
he announces for Jamie Ben with a collapse lung,
not a deal.
I think they just do a slice, you know,
and then they stick a pen in there.
Please consult your physician before taking any of Rett's surgical advice.
You got to get the lung.
It can't be collapsed.
It's got to be full.
The brass tax.
He'll be re-evaluated in four weeks.
That means he's going to miss at least two as the season starts in less than two weeks.
It's okay.
Just be healthy.
So just to recap, he's going to miss four.
So the takeaway is he'll miss at least two.
Because it's two weeks till the start of the season.
Like, yeah, he's going to miss preseason.
No one cares.
No one gets to the bottom of things like we do.
I mean, yeah, some people aren't sure when the season starts.
That's right.
In terms of games that matter, two weeks at least.
We don't give a shit about the season.
Get better, Jamie Ben.
Take care.
That's what we're trying to say right now.
That's what we're trying to say.
That's interesting.
A rep brought something up yesterday that I think people haven't really understood.
That you love sideblobs.
The CBA.
That's a big sideback guy.
I know, Rhett loves hoverboards and snakes.
Let's go to Australia.
The new CBA comes in officially next July 1,
but some of the rules from the new CBA are in place now,
and others will slide into the fall next year,
which is in the usual.
It is murky. It's very murky.
And so how are teams now going to game the cap?
Because this year, they have the new playoff cap rule.
Your roster in the playoffs has to be under the cap.
You can't do the Florida, Vegas, Edmonton,
game the system and bring an injured guy back,
you'd be over the cap. Can't play that.
So your roster for every game in the playoffs
has to be under the cap for the regular season before.
There was never a cap for the playoffs.
But already, already, we're finding loopholes.
Scenario one, disappearing backup goalie.
So let's say, for example,
you've got two goleys that make pretty decent money.
Like Seattle probably not a playoff team,
but you've got decorid making five,
Gruberauer making six. Sure.
Why not bring your number three up and makes a million
and Barry Grubauer's money in the press box?
Oh, you're probably not planning on needing your backup.
If you are, it's not gone well.
Interesting.
There's Lupal 1.
Lupal 2, evaporating an overpaid veteran.
Let's say Andre Pallat, for example, makes $6 million in New Jersey.
He's become a very unimpactful player in their roster.
Andre, you're going to watch and eat popcorn.
We just read up $6 million in cap space.
We can go over to get to the cap number without counting your money.
Interesting.
Okay, wait.
Explain that to me?
So guys old and shitty.
It makes a lot of money.
So rather than...
What do you do with them?
You can sit in the press box.
Interesting thought, right?
I didn't.
You would open up that six millions of money.
What it meant,
what it's doing is just you're getting under a cap number.
Correct.
By taking whatever players out.
Right.
Okay.
Interesting.
Is it?
Well, these are all new.
And these are the things that the GMs are scheming for.
It's what you all.
How do we game the system with these new rules?
Loophole three.
I think you had to lay out.
I don't know if these are loopholes.
This is just what you're going to have to do.
Right.
And now that there's a now that we understand the CBA,
we're seeing the ways around the new moves you've never made.
We've never seen a team put their backup goal in the rafters, right?
This is new.
Well, that one's.
Okay.
You can go over the cap at the end of the regular season if you've hauled out some cap space
and then just have, you know, we got some guys that aren't going to play until we have injuries.
And then if we need them, down they come.
Not as sexy.
Bad doables.
Even if they put the clubs over the cap,
someplace of me.
I don't want to read.
It's going to be around here.
They're trying to dominate.
Jack warned you.
Jack warned you.
Number four.
An hour.
Bonuses.
Jonathan Tave's probably going to make about seven and a half million bucks this year.
What do you think is base salaries?
Two.
Bingo.
The only salary that will count for the playoffs is the base.
Right.
So if you start heavily bonusing veterans,
you're going to be able to squeeze more guys on
your playoff roster under the cap.
Can't you heavily bonus everyone?
No, you can only bonus over 35
and entry level contracts.
Really?
See, this is the problem for you and me, Dean,
is we don't sit around
at Stampede and the Cowboys Tent talk
about CBA agreement.
Wasn't Hubertos thing?
It's signing bonuses, not performance bonuses.
Yeah.
So either way, get ready.
These teams are going to be sneaky again.
They always are.
Guess what folks? Gary makes rules to try to even
GM stuff.
I'm not a team. You are not a GM. You don't have to worry about it.
Get on those message boards and tell Cotty what to do.
Toronto Blue Jays lose again. It is not good.
Do we have to travel out there?
You need to give them a talking to. Put your Donaldson jersey on. Give them a talking to.
God. Six of seven?
Yeah, they lost seven one. It's their six lost in seven games. And the Red Sox ace looked like an ace.
Meanwhile, Scherzer a three spot in the first. And the Yankees did win last.
night and are tied with the Jays.
The Jays hold the tight break.
But one team is, you know, looking good.
And the other is circling the bowl.
They're playing the white socks.
So the Jays are playing the red.
The Yankees are playing the white.
Yeah, just palehose.
Out of Boston.
Final series, I believe the Jays will have the Rays and the Orioles go to New York.
The race would love to stick it to us too.
And if 7-1 wasn't bad enough, let's see how the game ended here.
The offense was going for so long.
Shot into right a base hit for Kurt.
The throw to first, it's not a base hit.
Oh.
He is out nine three.
That's kind of the mood of the night.
Rats.
What?
They weren't coming back.
Who cares?
No, and if there was the night encapsulated.
It wasn't close.
And he wasn't even taking it off.
He was moving a bit.
It wasn't even a bang-banger.
It was your out by a fair.
Oh, dear.
Yes.
That's right.
We're calm.
No need to panic.
Nothing to see here.
I would say that is a very good sign.
The Js are rattled.
Listen,
Shulman's the best,
but I do love that.
Oh,
oh, it's not.
I would bet there's been less than three
the entire Major League season.
We're talking about thousands of games.
It almost never had.
happen. An outfield
put it. I don't care. Holy.
It was listening to Shalman is what that was
going to be. Well, let's do it. That's fine. Lots of time.
That's fine. What was that?
Did you hear that? Yeah, I did.
What was that? I just clicked on
that's your VPN. Yeah.
Anyway, that's the shovel text. They're going to
be fine. Don't give us
your. I see you reverse. Get out of here.
They're great. They're so smogging.
They're going to, they're playing like shit.
What are you talking about? I don't like anything and deep and down
that he's in his basement.
Just.
What's he doing on his baseball?
What am I?
Yeah, this has been the posture of Jay's fans for a while here.
Just utter disgust.
Why are you showing this?
The memes are coming now, right?
So that's the thing.
This is terrible.
The memes, no.
They made the playoffs.
They have qualified for the playoffs.
And boy, do they love the wild card series.
Who are these guys, Ryan?
These would be the announcer standby.
Was it Pat Riley on the left?
Not sure.
I don't get the.
It's Alonzo?
That's that long some morning?
Yeah.
I don't get some correlation.
Do you see the expressions on their face?
That is the feeling Jay's fans for feeling.
We're getting shelled by 40.
This is like explaining the jokes.
Well, you just said you don't get it.
Well, I am trying to.
It's terrible.
If you get it, I don't explain it.
No, the point I'm trying to say to you is that you've put something on the show that is dumb.
Go ahead.
Let's get to more positivity, shall we?
Now, a couple things.
I think, well, we finished with Seattle, Jack, but we'll go to the Guardians and Tigers,
because the Jays are the only team soiling their undies.
Detroit had a monster lead in the entire AL, never mind the AL Central.
Guardians on a heater, they've taken over top spot.
And the memes were meming because we know Rhett loves.
I hope I could understand this.
So you see, Rhett, what that implies.
Oh, that's the Tigers.
That Cleveland is taking great pleasure.
Yes.
See, there are.
In the Tigers going up in flames.
I take back all of my, you were doing good, Ryan's.
Thank you.
Because you see the background.
It's a baseball stadium.
And those are the teams that are the thing.
One more time for.
No.
Yeah.
Let's come.
Oh.
Oh.
We're going to the four people laughing.
I'm going to take the W there.
Sorry.
I might be.
It's just Sandler.
He's so good.
Like that's not used enough.
I'm kind of laughing at the unintentional comedy that's happening in this room.
That's what it is.
Yeah.
You mentioned big dumper.
Yeah.
Just glossed over.
a 60th bomb of the season.
Here it is.
And listen to the excitement.
You want to talk about
the announcer's reactions?
Here we go.
Did I gloss over?
Oh, you didn't show it.
Fly ball.
Oh, what a bomb.
You have ever been to that ballpark?
Huge.
Oh, my God.
It's a long,
look, yeah, that's a long way.
I've gotten high as a kite up there in the third tank.
It's way up there.
Can we hear it again?
It's legal in Washington.
Again, with the crack of the vows.
Sorry, Jackson.
And the announcers, please.
Like, oh.
To Cal.
Fly ball.
Watch it fly.
Cal Raleigh.
Not many.
Not many.
So that was his 59th.
I know.
I sent 60.
You kind of glossed over.
Big tougher.
Lost over.
Did I send the wrong clip to Jack?
As he's like,
Big Tupper.
This is so.
In fairness, I mean, that's.
Same.
Maybe the 60th wouldn't have been.
Could not.
Can we find the 60th?
I'd like to see it.
Mm.
Before we do that, let's listen.
You're lost over it, Dino.
Well, we'll fix that.
It's totally glassed over it.
Now, Matthew Bush is a player.
Jeb's boy.
Matthew Bush.
Jeb.
That's the first Bush that you thought of.
Yeah, because he's a ballplay.
That's a good job.
Jeb's boy.
Get home.
Out of Texas.
You're on fire today.
Very good.
carry on, right?
Matthew Bush is the player at the plate.
Matthew.
It's Norma's such.
Or is it Michael Bush?
Or is it Matt?
Well, the announcers have a real tough time of this.
This is Michael Bush being called Matthew Bush on ESPN.
At the whole right fields, this one three.
This is chances of sale into row one.
Matthew Bush, 31, RBI 83 and 84.
Touch of all time and team up time.
The Chicago Cubs are having a field day
against the Mets and their staff.
Well, this is what Matthew Boyd has been doing all season long.
Bush.
He said three names in this entire highlight reel.
Michael Bush was called Matthew Bush and then Matthew Boyd.
Was that Shaw, though?
And then here's the apology.
Yeah.
Good work, fellas.
national television.
He's hit 30 bombs,
and you called him by the wrong name twice
in a matter of 10 seconds.
Gouche.
It can happen.
All right, Jack, let's show that 60th home run.
Yes.
Have some professionalism.
ESP.
That's right.
The hell's wrong here.
Here's home run 60.
59.
It's way up there.
Oh, dear.
Let's move to the NFL.
You know what, Jack?
You're supposed to be quality control.
officer in the organization. Come on the CCO. You really should be having a better handle on
I know I got to be better figure it out jack much clean up your shit yeah we're gonna close the Pinder
report with Cal Raleigh 60th we're gonna write the wrong folks everybody and if if it's true to form
it'll just get oh it'll be the most underwhelming thing ever no he yells at a big dumper it's good
uh Thursday night a nfc and nfc
C West matchup between a couple of teams off the decent starts.
Cardinals and the Seattle's.
Okay.
There's graphic.
It's in the desert.
We got it.
Punching each other?
They're getting ready for battle.
They're tackling.
Not often that Kyle Murray and Sam Donald are going to field at the same time, but we get
what you're trying to say here.
Should be a good game.
Lines a point in a half started in favor of the Cardinals immediately swung over to Seattle.
And Arizona will be debuting New Jersey's.
Right.
which I'd like to see without the orange lights.
They're called the built to last jerseys.
It looks like they've been riding ATVs in the mud.
You can see little spots everywhere.
I went ATV in when I was out there.
It was great in the desert, very dusty.
Yeah.
Must have to rain or something.
The spots all over.
So we'll keep our eyes on those new jerseys.
Do we like the Seahawks?
Do we like the Cardinals?
We'll talk about it later for Bet, 365.
almost trying to get to it now.
Yeah, we can do it for about 365.
Yeah, very good.
Got picks to do you.
Tell us,
uh,
Dean,
did you submit the,
the piece of comedy from earlier today that I asked you to,
because it was just absolutely perfect.
New York Giants have named Jackson Dart,
their starting quarterback.
Russ has been put to pasture.
Mr.
Let's ride stretching on the plane.
It's been awful early.
And of course,
James Winston is also in the quarterback room.
So now this is Russell Wilson's life,
sitting next to,
the loquacious and always excitable,
James Winston the remainder of the season.
Cats in the cradle and the silver spoon.
Let a boy blue and the man in the moon.
When you're coming home, son, I don't know when,
but we'll get together then, Dad.
Donkey.
I mean, if Jameson Winston were a cartoon,
that is him.
Yes.
His pregame speeches were just, oh, my God.
God. How do guys not roll their eyes into the back of their heads?
He's, uh, the Lord has given us talent on this windy day and snowfalling in Cleveland,
we will bring the pain to New York. He is an amazing. He's an amazing person.
I would like to go for dinner with James Winston. No, you would hate it. No, I's the furthest thing
from what you would want. You think I'm the ball. This is one of those things where you say you'll do it.
And then it day of you're like, son of, no, James. If let's, let's.
dinner on me if you're ever in town because I'm probably not going to New York anytime soon.
So you're asking me.
So he has to come to you.
Well, okay.
If I happen to be in New York and you have no plans for dinner, I'll take, we'll go for dinner.
I'd love to just hear about your life story.
Whatever you got to say, I got time for you.
You're going to be Shrek there, you realize, right?
That's the whole joke.
Yeah.
More than one comparable there.
Exactly.
And do you like it or does it drive you nuts?
Yeah.
Let's keep moving.
World Cup's coming to Canada, USA, and Mexico this summer.
It's happening quick.
The largest sporting event in the world.
It's not that quick.
This whole winter.
Okay.
No, Jack.
This is not it.
This is not going well.
You know, you two need to get sort of.
World Cup, not of hockey.
We'll be coming to Canada.
This is also big news coming to Calgary.
It's probably more relevant than the one.
I mean, is it?
There's 25 venues.
buying for one of two spots probably.
But yeah, it'll be a new rink and you can theoretically co-host with
Evanton if you want to do something in Western Canada.
Just a second.
So you had this in the Pinder report.
This is in the run.
This is in the Pinder report.
And you just.
And then you just said it's stupid.
Gave zero credence to it.
Well, it's been, it's been brought up before and it's really not close to being finalized
at all.
You got, oh, is it close?
It's six months away.
Why are you putting it in this?
But it was.
Your Pinder report.
It's around if we needed.
So did you try and skip this?
I'm confused.
Yeah,
I didn't have been down.
Shut up,
Jack.
Back to the real world.
So this isn't the book.
The one that more than 10 countries care about.
This?
Oh,
so you.
Yeah.
Oh,
this is way.
Much better.
Finally, Ryan.
Maple the Boots.
Jack.
Zyu the Jaguar.
And clutch the eagle.
What the hell is wrong with you?
Maple the moose.
We got no time for that other shit
when this is in the chamber waiting.
Your kids are doing your show.
I can see now.
The other one's like three years away, right?
You understand that?
That's so good.
This is a year away and it's children's drawings.
This is months away.
This is very close.
We love masks.
The summer of 26 when they're here.
That's correct.
I'm being serious.
What is the story?
You want me to explain the joke?
No, it's not the joke.
I'm being 100%.
What's the...
So do you recall the 8-8 Olympics in Calgary?
You don't need to go that far back.
Did they release the logos?
There was Houdie and Heidi.
Okay.
We're the two mascots for the 80s Olympics.
So the World Cup does mascots as well.
Got it.
And that's Maple the Moose from Canada.
Zayu the Jaguar from Mexico, right?
You could be the Zayu of the show and clutched the eagle over there.
Great stuff.
I did it.
I actually like soccer.
I don't want.
Do you?
You like soccer?
Okay.
Who's your team?
Who's my team?
Yeah.
Italy.
Can you name on the team?
Well, no, they're not playing right now.
He said he likes the sport.
Hey, you've been to the World Cup?
No.
Oh, who has?
You.
Fuck you.
Let's move to Rett's conspiracies.
Our final bit on the Pinda Report.
Someone sent me your algorithm.
I reached out to the shoveler and she sent me a little insight as to what Rett's getting on social.
So let's get right.
into the RET conspiracy theory of the day.
Here we go.
What's he wearing?
Do you know about Project Blackfish?
No.
Okay, dude.
Why is SeaWorld located next to the largest U.S. naval base in the world in San Diego?
I don't know.
Project Blackfish is an animal-human hybrid program that is designed to breed new Navy
seals that are half orca, also known as Orca seals.
What?
Project Blackfish was hugely successful in the United States Navy.
The only problem is that they let the Orca seals marry women.
in San Diego.
And they started to have really, really bad marriages with them.
No.
Yeah.
All the orcas would go to a local Longhorn Steakhouse and hit on all the waitresses and barbacks.
Everything was going fine until they came back from deployment and they would get super
pissed off at their wives that they let their kids eat Doritos.
They'd force all of them to go on an Atkins-style diet and get up at 4 a.m.
and pray with them.
Resulting in the wives cheating on them and then a divorce.
A real?
They finally ended Project Blackfish after one of the orca seals ripped off the head of a repo man
who was trying to reprimed.
possess their 2002 Dodge Ram Longhorn.
So that's a little taste at the rest, the, the RET algorithm, folks.
Project Blackfish.
Asteroids.
You have completely gone off the rails.
You had things going.
You had a nice tight.
Things were.
And as soon as a compliment came out, you, you, you, you derail yourself.
It's the push and pull of it all, right?
It really is.
You derail yourself and Jack, back to the quality control manager.
Your ass is on the line now, buddy.
Sheesh.
Yeah, we got to get quality.
We'll get some.
That's your Pinda Report for Village Honda, Dean.
Did you know the 2025 hybrid touring CRV?
So is the World Cup mating moose and men to create these?
So tell me more, Ryan.
It's a two motor hybrid power train with econ mode and eco assist.
Real time all wheel drive, tops in his class.
built for Calgary. You know our winners?
All four seasons here, baby. The touring edition
comes with Honda sensing safety tech and
19 inch black aluminum alloy wheels.
Find it at the Northwest Autumn
Your dealership for life, Village Honda
and VillageHonda.com.
Beautiful.
Now, did I hear you whisper
during the Pinda report and the Seattle
highlights, we need a Trident?
Is that what you said? Oh, I didn't hear that.
Trident would be good. What would we do with it?
I'm not against it. I'm not against it.
You could use it as a prize.
That's what I was going to say, is that
depending on the day might not be good to have a trident in here.
Ryan, did you get gourd three times?
No, once it was a tritist.
Gentle prod.
Do we want to see Cal Rally 60th or should we move on?
Because I don't know.
I want to.
Okay.
Well, we've got that and I do wonder about the RET yesterday versus today comparable.
We could also get into a bit of that.
So this is this roster is clunky.
Right.
Is.
Do we have the cow?
So this is the big dumper.
Big dumper 60.
All right.
Which puts them in that rare air.
Flyborder 60.
A catcher has hit.
The crowd.
Like, listen to the crowd.
That's the other thing.
He's hitting home runs every night.
And the crowd is like, here's our boy.
He's at the plate.
No one knew who this guy was a year ago.
He's our boy.
59.
He's up bottom of the eighth.
Wouldn't it be great?
Flyborder.
It's just like feeding red meat to the lions.
Right?
Yeah, of course he hit.
number 60 to make it 9-1.
Nine-one.
Like, what a night to be at the park if you're a die-hard.
Yeah.
He's been a very good catcher, but this is a superstar season that he's put together.
Again, it's, you don't need to be a huge baseball fan to fall in love with the sport at this time of year.
100%.
Yeah.
This is about to get really good.
Unbelievable stuff.
Yeah, that's like shades of the Edwin walkoff against Baltimore.
You want to talk about those big home runs, grand slams in the World Series last year,
turn the Dodgers and Yankees, like, electric.
And of course, it's that kind of guy.
Not six, four, chiseled out of stone.
No, it's the big dumper.
Trout, trout.
Like, yeah, it's not, it's the guy who's got the mustache and the chubby face.
Looks like your plumber.
60 home runs.
Yeah.
Love it.
That guy's working for Crystal Waters or is it a home run?
Yeah.
Where would we get a Trident?
Do you, where do you buy those?
You can get those cheap plastic ones because Halloween's coming.
Yeah, yeah.
Kind of the devil-y thing.
But there's the shits.
The bend and breakways.
What?
You've seen them.
That's got you.
No, it's
the descriptor.
You can get them at Halloween,
you know, the devily one.
But it's the shits.
It is.
It's like we're having a serious,
but you know what?
Don't buy that.
No.
Devily plastic one.
It's the shits.
You know what?
Because it's the shits.
Find a better Trident
when you're out Trident shopping.
God.
I can't stand with this quality.
Okay, so yesterday versus today.
Now you came in today.
You're in a great mood.
You went and you spilled your coffee?
That didn't derail you.
Got a second coffee.
He's in great spirits.
The difference between him eating and not eating is stark.
And it's like here for the whole world to see on YouTube.
It's like some days when he has not eaten, there's a certain tone and tenor.
And then other days where he's clearly had some lunch.
I didn't eat this morning.
Well, still I just like that.
You've been fed in the last 24 hours.
So today, to recap, we looked at the Ross.
Lola, good, good in net.
You were looking at the defense.
You're liking what you saw there.
That's pretty good.
If those are your five, six, you're in good shape.
Get some scoring back.
This is all right.
Bottom six looks real good.
Right.
This was, that's today.
This was yesterday's show.
This is a clunky, clunky lineup.
Explain.
They're not young.
They're not bad.
They got bad contracts on old guys that they can't dump.
They don't have a, I think Breck's going to be really.
good the way he moves but you're not sure what he is you don't know and he's a piece you want to
build with moving forward absolutely hans like's not going he's he might be an n hler but he's not going to
dominate he's not going to be a star so you have no number one anything wolf maybe wolf's on the
ross already's number one goal right but beyond that you this is a clunky we have a buck we've got
some old guys that are good but they make a lot we don't have a lot of high-end talent coming up
as youth it's good town it's fine town but it's not next
level no one's coming out of their seats talents right like it's clunky
you talk yeah okay okay we've got it's funny like line up explain
so again feed the map don't miss it don't miss an episode truth bumps
i did there was a really tight turn at one point last season where he was screaming
rebuild and then i was like you got all this cap space go get some no and i was right i was
i was taking all the information and deciphering it and going well if you're going to be
the hell good is it to have 10 million in cab space.
I'm going to sign some of those superstars on the street.
Four more goals and make the playoffs.
You're right again, buddy.
Not that difficult.
It's right again.
Can't miss the show.
God, he's so, I mean, it's why you watch.
It's not that difficult.
It's not.
I don't know why these guys make it look so hard.
Pay attention.
Beth 365,
official gaming partner of Barnburner game props,
player props.
totals, money line, whatever your bet is.
It's never ordinary at bet 365.
Get that app. Get it on your phone. Get in on the game.
Sign up. If you haven't already, use the code nation when you do, get a little extra there.
And be 19 or older. We are going into week four of the National Football League.
We have a Thursday night game. We have a full slate coming up.
Now, there's a couple on Monday.
We've got some more games where the Steelers play.
They're in Ireland.
Ireland.
Yeah, they got Minnesota and Carson Wentz in Ireland.
Yeah.
I think the bike stay over there for another game in Europe.
They're in London next week.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I know that because they were talking about sending J.J. McCarthy over there to do his rehab.
He's like, so I need to go over there.
Like, I understand there's games.
Or he's like, yes, I'd like to go.
If I'm not, uh, I'm not playing, do I really need to go?
On a beach in Barcelona.
Go get them, boys.
Well, we make picks on this show.
And again, we, we're not.
saying here's the picks you need to take.
We're just saying this is kind of,
this is what we're feeling. Here are the picks we need
to take. Yeah. And again, depending on the day,
sometimes we're real smart in other days, not so much.
We encourage you to, uh, look at the Packers under Rets.
Packer, Pacer, Paxers.
Either way.
And who's Buck?
This is that Buck Martinez?
This.
I, well, I did I even bother trying to do that.
Who's Buck?
Who is Buck?
Who are you with the gangster outfit too?
Booketele.
That was one of our AI drawings, our boy matrons.
I like that.
That's pretty funny.
So the records are not sparkling.
We're all sub 500.
Get right.
We read in an effort to gain ground in a hurry has gone with five games.
A lot of points for the bills.
Pinder walk us through your picks.
I think the Colts are good.
They got the Rams, which will not.
easy. They're on the road, but the culture 3 and O, Danny Dimes looks legit.
It looks like Jonathan Taylor might be the best running back in the league right now.
I don't know he'd put ahead of him. He's been phenomenal.
Jags getting points. I'll take. It's not an easy matchup.
But they've been sneaky all right. They really have. New head coach Liam Cohen's come over.
And I am going to take the Panthers who absolutely throttled a hapless Atlanta club last week,
just because they're getting five and a half points. Keep it close, friends. Keep it close.
Yeah, I don't know what about the Jags.
Brian Thomas Jr. has done nothing.
Trevor Lawrence kind of looks like he's not a very good
quarterback. Run the ball. Well, yeah.
Oddly enough, I went with the bills.
The number doesn't matter. It's the bills.
They had 10 days in between games, I think,
because they played the Thursday last week.
Oh, they'll be dialed in.
And they're playing the Saints.
And the Saints are awful.
Garbage.
It's just how bad are they?
How bad can you?
The question is, how bad can you beat the Saints?
Colts.
they're good.
Packers, Jack told me once that the
Packers were the best team in the
NFL. I look good every we want.
What am I going to do? Not take the Packers.
The Bears bit me in the ass last week.
Hence, I got to take them this week.
And the Chiefs are at home.
One of these teams
going to go to three and one.
One in three.
Baltimore or Casey,
but Casey's at home with points.
I will take the Chiefs.
That sounds like sound advice right there.
that one. The Packers lost outright to Cleveland last week.
A bit of a goosh last week.
I think that's embarrassing.
And they are going into Dallas.
Oh, Dallas is awful.
Dallas gives up points like no other team, it seems, this year.
That's a get right.
Micah Parsons is going to want to go in there and feast.
Jerry has said there's going to be no tributes for Michael Parsons.
Don't be expecting anything on the JumboTron.
There's nothing going on.
I think the Packers are going to stomp the Cowboys.
here. The bucks, they lose Mike Evans. The buck. Now last week, I had a team against the Eagles
plus three and a half and until the absolute final play of the game. Yeah, two seconds left. Yeah.
I was in great shape. I'm going to try it again. Bucks at home getting three and a half points
against the Eagles. We love Baker. And the Titans are getting seven points on the road in Houston. I don't
think Houston's look good at all. Oh and three. Dat O line. CJ Stroud looks washed. So to be a
Touchdown favorite.
Like I get that the Titans are not great.
But for the Texans to get a touchdown at home,
just because they're at home seems like way too many points.
So those are my picks.
Jack's on the opposite side of this Chiefs Ravens game.
I am on the opposite side.
The Chiefs haven't impressed me at all.
Their offense is so boring.
I think like the Ravens have been in every game.
They've just, Henry's fumbled.
They're the better team by far, I think.
Like two and a half isn't enough.
So I'll take the Ravens.
This is the happiness hedge bet.
The only thing worse,
then sitting on my front porch watching the game on my phone
is going to be waking up at 7.30 a.m. to watch this team play football.
I can't, I cannot.
The Steelers have just been pissing me off.
So I'm just going to take the Vikings.
Mine is two and a half.
They're well-coached team.
Yeah, I can't.
So betting against your team.
I am.
That's correct.
Happen to such.
What a world I'm living in.
He's so fantastic.
It's beautiful.
And then I'm with Ryan.
I like what the Colts have done.
Indiana Jones and Jonathan Taylor.
And Rat.
Yeah.
Look at that.
Give me the Colts plus three and a half against the Rams.
Now the Paxers and the Packers are the same team.
You guys both have them.
Right.
Laying almost a touchdown.
Get right spot.
And we didn't mention who the Jaguars were playing.
It's the Niners who have someone got to 3 and 0 without brought Purdy,
but they haven't really blown anyone out.
It's just been narrow victories,
I snatched from the jaws of defeat each game.
which you can, you know, you can label that's what good teams do maybe.
They find ways, but it just feels like these injuries have to catch up with them at some point.
Bosa leaves last week.
He's done for the year.
Purdy, if he plays, isn't 100%.
It just feels like you're on borrowed time with McCaffrey.
It just does.
Not only does he get injured, but everyone in for San Fran gets injured.
So I don't know.
It's not back.
Jennings is limited.
Purcell's limited in practice.
Would Jennings maybe play this week?
Maybe it's not full.
And Piercesell is an add to the injury list.
Like that's not ideal.
Kittles already out four weeks.
And then the last one we didn't mention,
Panthers are at New England,
getting all those points.
And they turned over the ball five times last week.
And they're solid team.
They sold a tiny share to some hedge fund.
The patient's at a $9 billion dollar valuation.
Wow.
Save your nickels, Jack.
We're on our way.
Close.
And dimes.
Yeah.
Danny.
So there we go.
Those are our picks.
Good luck to Buck.
We'll maybe.
God, I hope Buck pulls through.
So tonight, it is Arizona at home to Seattle.
Don't you wish you were in Arizona?
I kind of do.
Yeah, that'd be a good game.
Yep.
Who do we like?
Do we have to do the spread?
Not just anything.
You do whatever you want.
The spread is one and a half point.
One and a half.
I'm taking Seattle.
Everything's coming up Seattle right now.
They have a good five.
the whole city.
Me too.
I would have the Seahawks minus one and a half.
I'm with you fellas.
There's a couple things to look at here that we're interesting.
Our nerd buddy Tyson Cole
that we did the football Thursday night football show with last season.
The team that averages the most pass attempts against is Arizona.
So if you wanted to go into the props,
you could have Sam Darrell to throw a lot.
The team that's allowed the most reception yards to running backs is Seattle.
That screams Trey Benson prop.
I hit the over on that.
And then there's other top-ranked things.
as well. Wide receiver receptions, Arizona's allowed the most in the NFL and tight end
receptions. Seattle's allowed the most. That'd be McBride, JSN, those type guys could have big days
as well. Maybe a McBride anytime touchdown. I don't mind that. I don't mind a Benson any time
touchdown? I had that bet a week or two ago, except I had the wrong tray. Right. Because there's two
trays in that offense. Yeah. There's going to be a lot more of the second tray now that James
Conner's done. That's a thing. Pay attention to your bet 365 app. It's very clearly written.
It's not their fault if you click the wrong.
Yeah, the names are right there.
Yeah.
When you're picking player props or whatever, just read it.
Mm-hmm.
Reasonable.
And then proceed as you so choose would be my recommendation advice there.
There you go.
Mm-hmm.
Getting all choked up.
What a day it's been.
What a day.
It's been a lot.
Good if we had tomorrow off.
That three, six, five.
Get in the game.
you can take a day
it's fine
go get them
the Steelers have been pissing you off
Jack what's like I mean
yeah
what's wrong
they're just
you haven't seen yourself
every year
we're three weeks in
I know yeah
Aaron Rogers has been very good
for what you would expect
has he not has he not been
he was good the first two games
I did not like his performance last game
okay so
we laughed at you and you said
they were going to go five and oh
and we said we were going to
there's not it's not going to happen and now it's not happening what if that defense rounds into form you did call the best defense in the they did look very good last week what if they just takes already coming up what are they have five they're all right they cross the ocean they'll be so you played ret yesterday versus today we could have played a clip there like 20 seconds yeah apart tight turns slaters are pissing me on what they did look good one was yeah it's so cute hard on the door isn't it yeah
It really is.
They needed like five turnovers and that was still close to the end.
Wasn't it, Jack?
Very close.
New England,
five turnovers and still.
New England turned the ball over on the one yard line, the three yard line.
Like Pittsburgh did not deserve to win that game at all.
Yeah, but guess what?
That's a good to 9 and 8 every year.
Went a couple of years.
They really could be 0.
and three quite easily.
It's the same old Steelers bullshit.
It really is.
60 yard or week one.
Just a testament to the league.
Five fumbles.
Slat, like,
the parody.
That's the parody in the league.
You gotta love it.
You gotta love it.
We can do probably one of these at this point.
We've kind of done our three, six, five.
We can get one.
As we get into the super chat,
I've been too much laughing.
Yeah.
You guys have happy Chardling and Gaffan over here.
Everything's loosened up.
Yeah.
For the youth centers of Calgary,
we do the super chat.
That's people.
You want to get involved with the show,
little interaction.
That's how you do it.
YouTube show as we go live.
You put your comment in with a little bit of cash.
I don't read the show.
We donate it and then read that specific message on the show.
Because I'm not allowed to have a computer.
You can absolutely have it.
Look at this.
It's coming in from Jolly Old England, I bet.
Is it pounds?
It's pounds.
If you were Connie,
would you make a play for either Luke Hughes or Mason McTavish
worth giving up the picks, et cetera, question mark?
They're not sure than those guys.
But offer sheet, because they're RFAs.
They'll just match.
Well, okay, but what's the question?
Ryan, play the hypothetical.
You could do it.
You're not going to get them.
You could do it.
Would the question?
I would not.
No, it's a waste of time.
Because it would be, what, a three firsts?
Well, we feel.
It's not your fault.
We, Phil.
This is not your fault.
That's a great question.
We appreciate it.
Other side of the world.
You just don't understand the person.
I was like, hey, look at that.
No, don't be fucking stupid, we pill.
We fill.
Don't be wasting our time with this.
I have a good authority that that McTavish is one hell of a fellow.
And he had, what, 60 plus points last year?
You probably have to go north of eight.
Like you're talking four first round or something like that.
Well, if you're going to be drafted 15th.
That is the other rub.
If you're going to pick a 15 and then take it to leave the center.
But I would not do it.
Luke Hughes.
Doesn't, don't know the Hughes,
suppose all they do is talk about playing with each other? Are you going to start
collecting all three in Calgary? Go get it.
I agree. I don't think. Ryan, Luke warm
on the idea, I think is my takeaway.
Waiting for you to weigh in Dean. Also, we, Phil, I don't understand the implications.
I don't know what you'd have to offer to even have a chance at getting him,
which means I don't know what you'd have to give up. Would you do it, Dean?
No, I mean, that, if you want to, like, cut up away from the shit,
you can't do an offer sheet. It's too much in terms of assets to give up.
And I don't think either team is so disgruntled that they would trade them.
Because it'd be like, okay, well, we can't give you four firsts or three firsts.
Look, is there a trade we can work out?
I think the answer, well, no, we're not looking to trade.
These guys are young.
We used high first round picks on them.
We just are negotiating the dollar figure.
Playing hardball.
Both teams have leverage.
Both teams are trying to use that leverage to get better deals.
That's what's happening.
Neither team wants to trade these guys.
And I think you're probably right that unless I don't know what the dollar figure would be.
So astronomical where they wouldn't match.
And then you just added more first style.
Yeah.
But we appreciate you, we Phil.
99.
49.
499.
499.
No, but can't you trade someone else to get that first round that way?
Yeah, it doesn't, it doesn't keep you from.
You know, but as.
Just saying.
In two years from now in one of your first round, you're free to go and add other first rounders and trade.
Try and get those picks back.
First rounds from other teams.
Not those specific picks, but you can get back into the first round.
in other ways. Checkers.
Chess.
Handsome Dan.
$10.0.0.
This ownership group never bottoms out.
Any first round picks are in the 10 to 20 range.
Is it worth going $8 million a year times five to Mason McTavish to see if he could be our top center given a chance?
Cost the first, a second, and a third.
I don't like he signs eight million.
It's more than that.
In five years, even?
Yep.
Really?
I think so.
I mean, I don't know.
I he's knocking on the door to being a point per game center in this league that's you're not getting that deal would walk him right to ufa i guess but let's assume even then are you are you okay because he yeah first second third i do that in that 10 to 20 range and he's yeah he's kind of accurate i'd do that all day yeah i think you would the problem is i'd do it all day and hence yeah you'd need the player to sign it and then you'd need the other team not to match and then you'd need the other team not to match
it. So is it worth
like I understand there's RFA years in there not all you but like
Mikkel Granlin got seven plus. This is a player heading into
his prime that's already put up 60 points and is what 20, 21?
Yeah, like I think he's going to be if you want long term, it's going to be a lot
of money. Like why not 10? Yeah. Why not? Like I wonder if the docs would be like,
we would give you eight times five. Yeah. If you would take it. But I don't know what
they're doing down there. Hard to say.
Thank you, handsome, Dan.
Back in.
Show T-shirt ideas.
I would have been on time, but CTE.
My in-laws are in town.
Keep walking.
Oilers suck.
Australia North.
God damn it.
I also wasn't invited to Reggear's house.
That's a deep one right there.
Yeah, that is deep.
You might have to put Robbins House,
because you might, the Regiers might sue.
No, they're lovely.
They'd be.
I'm just thinking in, because.
no address on there there's no threat to the regairs you know it's a spell
name can't remember yeah they got a weird h in there for some reason it feels like it's not
it's before the e i before after c we've had listen dan we got thank you uh we have a lot of
idea for t-shirts and and paraphernalia it just never ends up yeah it's the gumption to do it
but it's coming soon it's coming yeah it's absolutely it's come to our website of
is it's just drying off look at them focused now all right look an
impoverishate compensation Voyager 2 remember the Iggy Coronado and the
paupor cup the comparison in this scenario who is the ret comp going forward
we've already said that brain Paul yeah I felt like you put a little more up the lineup than
he did to be fair you're that's because you're a second round worse no no you're a second round
pick 27th overall in the world dean that'd be a first runner today i wonder what it was for d
god i must have been a top 10 figure that out what year was it 96 and i mean we could probably do
it as as an entire show do a redraft where should you have gone you think people would be in that i guarantee
it probably right about where you'd have been no higher 94 i doubt it because alfredson went really
late and oh that doesn't again teams are stupid
What? 94.
Yeah, 94.
Ret Warner 27, first pick of the second round.
Okay, so what, walk us through the first round with defense only.
Jovanoski, Tavadovadovsky.
Nolan, Bonapner, 10, Brown, B-Lag.
Matias Olin at 13.
Olin.
Which Brown?
Brad, better than him.
Okay.
Jeff Keatley.
Jablas.
Never played.
Kilty, excuse me.
Kilty.
Yen.
Coloblosky or something.
Yeah.
Golomovsky.
Yes.
And then me.
Son.
There could be an argument made.
I mean, Teberdovsky was a sexy pick.
You've done more with my career.
You?
That's a t-shirt.
I should have done more with my career.
Stanis Lab,
necktash coming after over there.
Close.
Nekash, Nick Cash.
I think they go with Netskash.
Yeah, it's hard to see.
It's a slowbacker check.
We're not doing this.
Darren Quinn, but no, it's already been done.
It's already been done.
Jovanowski, okay.
Picked in the right spot.
He should go where he does.
I've found a guy that he's going ahead of him.
Maybe Matthias Olland played a long time.
He was ahead of me already.
Matthew Dandeno.
He's not moving ahead of me.
Just because he was in Detroit and won Cubs.
Yeah, he's not in that.
He didn't win him.
How many Hall of Famers did I play with?
That's honest.
Out of that list.
That list of names.
No shit.
You'll keep me ahead of Struddy.
Sheldon Surrey, no offense, rat.
I had a big show.
Big shot.
16 years.
Holy.
And yeah, there's not a ton of D down late.
Brad Lukowitz.
I'll take you at him, right?
You're welcome.
Oh, thanks.
What about Oland or Rent?
Let's take this off here.
Post-show.
Temerdowski or Rhett?
I don't know.
Probably Oleg.
Different styles.
Very, he could contribute more.
Very different styles.
Right.
But you're,
how do you put away?
Yeah, is it clutch and hold or not?
It's clutch and hold on our red.
Back in the day.
These kids, they always took.
Shane 90.
Nice.
He's in there late.
Oh, yeah.
Nipawa.
Round seven.
Holy.
What a find.
Yeah.
To get him to.
Napo.
Thanks so.
All right.
Be hungry, folks.
It's a fun game.
God, there's a lot of rounds back then.
Round 10?
What are we doing here?
Christ.
Just keeps going.
Yeah, it's so easy in seven.
We need to add more.
Like, what?
Round 11?
I think there was 12.
Holy.
12.
Dick Tarnstruck.
Yeah, but there was only 26 teams.
Dirty Dick.
11 rounds.
Yeah, I'd probably a similar number.
I'm still a little more.
Yeah.
It's a lot of teams now.
It's a lot of teams.
until they add teams in Atlanta and Phoenix and
come on Marrier.
Did you see that Shane Donne's wife is now getting a group together
to look at the possibility, the feasibility of maybe having a hockey team in
She's in Cahoots with the Thunderbird so you know what's happening.
This is not a shot against the person I lived with,
but she is definitely not putting together a group to buy an image.
No.
She's not in contact with Gary at all.
Not for everyone.
It's the right name.
They got the right money behind it.
They are going to get a team back.
The question is, will they relocate
Buffalo there?
You better push the button.
Well, we got another, just the last minute.
Carter's coming in with a,
when is Connor Zeri coming on the podcast?
Tomorrow, probably.
Jack, can you book Connor?
This is his birthday today?
He'll be hung over.
I didn't want to bug him on his birthday.
Yeah, you don't want to bug a guy.
Hung to me.
Yeah.
So, Brian.
Here's the question I leave you with.
Next week, I believe.
The alumni, the team,
team and the alumni are supposed to meet for a lunch,
tell some old school,
some hot stove stories,
get to know the guys,
talk about the city,
do you need anything?
So the players,
so the young,
youngsters of today,
current, past.
Right.
So is it management or the players that are?
Manage, it will be there as well.
A players as well.
Okay.
Players.
All right.
A lot of people from the Orgel be there.
I think any time you see the two, you know,
yesteryear and the coming together, whatever, it's always good.
Yeah, I feel like it's been very good in St. Louis.
I don't know if I should go.
Why?
All these great ideas?
You absolutely should go.
If you could play the Rasmus Anderson.
Or on a Kenzie Weger.
It's like guys just suckering you as you walk in the room.
Or the Devon Coley.
I watch the podcast. I see.
Prick.
Plunky lineup, huh?
Oh, yeah.

Watch out for that.
It was a wet gravel road today.
Yeah, it was.
Yeah.
We could all use a wash.

Everything in?
All good.
All done?
Yeah.
I think so.
All right.
Very good.
See you, buddies.
