Here we are.
Here we are.
What was that from a...
Here we are.
Cartoon or something.
And then...
There were the monkeys.
Oh, it was the...
Was it...
Damn it.
It was there and that was gone.
I thought it was Muppet Babies for a second,
but I don't think it was Muppet Babies.
Muppet Babies.
That is an old pole there.
I'm an old...
Jack, you remember Muppet Babies?
I'm not familiar with Muppet.
Oh, you know what?
Garfield and friends that's what it is.
Jack Fine, Garfield and Friends.
It was a little half hour. Do you know who Garfield is?
The big cat.
Okay, there you go.
He likes the line.
What's the dog's name?
Oh, good question.
Ooh.
Yeah.
What's his owner's name?
A lot of vowels.
First and last.
I really liked Garfield.
Garfield was one of my favorites.
Like the cartoon or the comics?
I had a whole bunch of the books.
Yeah.
Books are good too.
Yeah.
And then there was Heathcliff.
It's like, I'm not fooled Heathcliff.
This is some bullshit right here.
This is a big rip off.
Yeah.
I mean, Garfield was kind of a dick.
Yeah, but he was a lovable mistake.
It's like in the end, right?
Yeah, kind of like me.
Like a lovable assail.
By the time the episode comes to a conclusion, his morals are in the right spot.
Yeah.
He's good guy.
This show is a presentation of Bet365, the world's largest sports betting platform.
Get that account open today.
And if you haven't already used the promo code nation when you do, you're going to love it.
Get the app on your phone, on your tablet, on your work, whatever space you're at work.
There you are.
Neglecting your duties to be on Bet365, just looking for some sneaky little prop bets.
I've got a good parley today.
Doesn't make you bad.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary on Bet 365.
And, of course, we've got Super Chat already.
Doe in the Super Chat.
Really?
Yeah, already.
We have to Dustin Wolf win, so you know what that means.
Oh, handsome Dan.
Super Chat.
are into the chat on the show and you put a little money down we're going to show your comment
on the show and then take that money and get it to the youth centers of calories that's how that goes
lasagna love it was the uh just the food of choice he would eat a lot of things though garfield
yeah bad diet it'd be one of those things he'd be remember he'd have that kind of little box that
he would sleep in and he kind of like oh but his belly would be like just mahusive kind of thing
yeah had a blanket too then in the next one he'd be oh he's back to normal he must have
puked it up or something.
It's a bear ball.
Bit of a bulimic.
We don't condone that.
No.
Cat bulimia.
Bad behavior.
It's bad,
bad, bad, bad.
Not good.
Wasn't there a new Garfield movie not too long ago?
They've tried, man.
Bill Murray,
wasn't he the voice of one of the Garfields?
Yep.
I feel like that didn't work for anyone.
The Garfield lovers nor Bill Murray.
I don't know.
Maybe I'm,
I didn't see it.
I'm just guessing it.
I think Garfield's about to take off with AI.
Really?
A.I.
It could be.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just.
We need to just clip anytime references AI
at the end of the year play it.
I have no idea what it's going to be,
but it'll be amazing.
Get AI to do it.
Just go through the shows.
Hey, AI.
Go grab all the AI references.
Opening statements from a cloud law as we get into it on a Monday.
I think Peter Klein was a big Garfield guy or Heathcliff.
I don't know who would be a Heathcliff guy.
I don't know many.
BS.
That is one of the greatest rip-offs of all time.
What would another example of that be like in another field,
like another product where it's just a blatant,
rip off of something.
But here's the problem.
Powerade, I don't know.
Do you know it was a rip off?
I didn't even read it.
It just was clearly a cat that was trying to be Garfield.
Or did John Davis, I believe, was his name, the creator of Garfield.
Was he inspired by how bad Heathcliff was?
And I just did it better.
I can do this.
A better story.
There'd be some lawyers involved.
Jack, I mean, we need some Garfield.
He's working on.
Okay.
So the opening statement is for McLeodlaw.
I got a text from Austin, our buddy.
Oh, yeah.
He enjoyed the little interview that I,
you'd big wrestling.
I believe that.
Yeah,
he was,
you know,
it's funny because you think you know who's a wrestling fan,
just like sometimes you think you know who our listeners are.
Yeah.
It's just,
it's not that easy.
It's a very smart guy,
lawyer.
Yeah.
They get very,
very smart.
Hey,
when he loves wrestling.
No,
I don't need to do it.
When you get a chance,
go talk some wrestling for a little bit,
like,
what do you think they're doing?
I don't know, man.
We'll talk about it.
Some bloodline,
something?
Yeah, maybe I shouldn't throw that out there.
It just means he's well versed in many different fields.
Very relatable.
Sports entertainment.
Yeah.
A cloud dash law.com is the website.
Do you hear my throat?
I'm kind of feeling a little.
Don't say that to him and sit beside me.
You know what I was in Lethbridge on the weekend?
Windy or really windy?
I mean, they don't disappoint.
No.
It'd be like going to see the stones and they don't play satisfaction.
If you went to Lethbridge and it wasn't.
crazy windy.
Like if you go to Vegas and things are closing at 9 p.m.
Yeah, so what's the heck?
What do you mean?
There's no shrimp in the buffet?
What the hell is this all about?
I don't know how you do it.
I love there for four years.
Bridgians.
You were a Lethbridgeian.
If you parked the wrong way and we're just in like a shopping center and opened your door.
Almost happened to be at a could have killed a child.
Yeah, getting out to get fuel.
It's parked into the wind.
Park into the wind.
Sitting in the parking lots you have to consider.
Yes.
waiting for this game to start.
I'm just
like your vehicle.
It's like you're moving.
Sometimes when you go through the car wash
and the,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The blowers are,
there's physical things touching it, not
just air. That's how windy it is.
Dust
smashing the side of your vehicle.
Reggians, I,
good on you, I guess.
If you like Frisbee, don't move to land.
Don't do it.
It's going to land in Regina every time.
You know what? If you live in,
you should open a hat store.
Because I would think people have got to be
losing their goddamn hats nonstop.
Or a windmill store.
Something like that.
Yeah.
Oh, you're back for,
we just got your hat last week.
Yeah, well, you know,
you think I'd learn.
I'd guess you had to wear a hat.
You had to wear a hood over your hat.
The hood hat,
the hood hat hood.
I went to the university there.
We had one professor.
I can't remember his name.
He had like the world's most epic comb over.
And the only place you don't want to be a professor
with the world's most epic comb over is.
Yeah.
He had this thing that started like back here.
swirl it around. He had like the old Trump tsunami. Like, where's his hair come from? No one knows.
But the wind, you'd see him walking. He always had this happen. It's just like, if you ever had it off and there's no amount of shalack in the world. It's going to help. It's worse than Bill Murray and Kingpin. It's just amazing. Bigger. Or if you had a rug.
If you're wearing your cat. A hat, a hat or a toupee store. Huge business in Lesteridge. Really got to weld it down.
Flames win last night.
I was there for some of it.
Were you?
Yes, I was.
Why only some of it?
Well, my brother had seats he was trying to sell.
They did not sell.
And so we boogeed after the first intermission.
You had a family dinner, so you didn't want to miss family dinner, put him up for sale.
And then we wished the seven-year-old a happy birthday, which got all kinds of pink things.
And then we zipped out.
It's all right.
Nice.
That's kind of a good way to do it real quick, bang, bang in and out.
Yep.
Classy.
Wolf is great.
I actually thought Forvia
was made some big saves in the middle of that contest.
Yeah.
But like that's probably one of the weaker defensive clubs in the league.
And it's still you're like grinding to get to three goals.
Well, that's the thing.
Bless their work ethic.
But it's just,
it's so hard for them to score.
And they'll get chance and like,
oh,
I got one more little pass.
Like no,
just put it on.
I know.
That one was Audrey back and forward.
Oh my goodness.
Guys,
what are we?
I love the creativity,
but not that much creativity.
I don't know if that's creativity.
That's over thinking.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's first game back after a while and you don't feel like you're in a ton of trouble.
You just, I don't know, I'll mess around.
I'll try some stuff.
They're going to be good eventually.
They have some good players on that team.
Sharks?
To your point.
Oh, hell yeah.
Defensively, you can see why they have trouble winning.
I mean, they got Will Smith and Macklin Sellebrini down the middle for the next 15 years.
That's going to be all right for them.
They got Ascaro, Vanette, who they didn't play last night,
but is one of the top prospects on earth for net mining.
They've got a great stable young defenseman.
They have a really high pick this year.
Mike Greer's taking some heat.
And I think when he bailed the oilers out on the CC offer sheet thing,
that rubbed some people the wrong way.
But you start looking around.
Jake Wallman with a second rounder.
He's a good defenseman that should have been receiving in trade more than that.
Never mind attaching it.
This teams can turn the corner pretty quick, I think.
I like them a lot more.
I like Chicago, if you know what I mean.
I was going to say, just watching Celebrate.
Breeney with Tofoli.
Yes.
It's like Padar could use a
Toffoli.
20-30 goal guy.
Someone that could shoot it.
They'll see that to Chicago,
not that we need to get into Chicago,
San Jose debate,
but you've got to imagine that Chicago's going,
hmm.
Yeah,
well,
and they had those guys.
They could have had Mishkhov or Demadov.
Well,
I guess not Mishkov,
same draft,
but Demadov is the guy that's lighting up the K right now,
like ridiculous,
like five-point games and stuff.
I guess that just means,
like older guys.
Yeah, no,
you're right you're right you're right and i think they tried that with taylor hall there's nothing left
but yeah you've got to give skill some skill to work with like connor bardardt getting railroaded by media
is insane he's no one to play with yeah um yeah you sit there at the end and to your point not to piss
on a win or anything it's like you still scored three goals and wolf had to be very good
it's a one goal game maybe and it was a tied in the third period it was not a yeah again
Not just the three goals, but you had to rely on your goal tenders.
It's not about the other guy, but if Dan Vlodar starts that game, I'm not so sure that's an ugly game after coming out of the break where you're like, oof, we weren't good enough.
Because they weren't good enough, but Wolf was.
And ugly going into the break.
Yes.
I don't know how much.
05 and 1 5 and 2.
Like what does Husk?
Do you bring up that?
Was it the cracking game, right?
That's what was before?
3.
2.
Yeah.
Oh, you don't talk about it.
So fellas, let's.
Moving forward.
Fellas.
Will Smith is a player.
A pass he made to Zetterland on the left side
and then he wired it off the post.
All right.
There's some skill there.
Eklund.
They don't feel close.
Feels like that's going to be a bit of a slow build.
I think the goalie probably is the biggest piece.
If he looks like Wolf next year,
it probably speeds things up a lot,
just like Wolf has here.
I have a buddy just raving about their prospects this morning,
so I just want to make sure we're not missing.
Let's go.
my buddies
they got lily grin for like nothing from
Toronto yeah like they've done some really good word
Dickinson's the defenseman they drafted and he's
going to be a really good player the macaduland who
he's he's had a tough time with last night he's
he's all right I don't know they just they got lots of guys flames
thoughts the return of Connor Zeri
no ball yet he'll be yeah where'd you activate them
but then don't use I guess practice stuff he's pro oh
close is what it feels yeah what did we
think about the flames and Wolf saved them and they were very ho-hum.
It's kind of a season in the nutshell.
Like, it's not like they didn't work, but they really struggled to create offense and
their goalie was excellent.
Yeah.
It was one of 82.
And again, if he allowed one more, if he allowed one more, that means the flames
had to score four.
You like the depth in the lineup that looks good on paper, but the scoring is just
terrible.
Yeah.
Yeah, there is that.
With the Philly trade and now Zeri back, you've got Pospisal on the fourth line with
Lomburg and the Rundog.
Which got you a goal.
Yeah.
Oh, and I just mean like Pospicil being pushed into your 10th forward slot.
Sign of depth they haven't had all year, really.
Not since you probably had like Mantha and Kirkland and other guys healthy.
I'll say this.
You got about Manta, don't we?
And again, we're not trying to be poopy, folks.
Doesn't instill a ton of confidence going into this road trip.
It's, you take the points and you move on.
Yeah.
I don't think they're like, hey, if we play like that, we're going to be fine.
You're not going to be fine if you play like that.
Wow.
And if you squand,
under that game against San Jose going into that road trip after the then we'd be really snarty
it would be very hard to have a great out if only we had a board and a and a name of a board
subscribe to oh there it is oh huska's nightmare huska's nightmare it's a mini gauntlet run
i don't know what the full fledged it was last year it is a gauntlet though it's a gauntlet until
the trade deadline yeah and the trade deadline is the day after the dallas game at the very end
I did a little digging on this.
You have the top team in the NHL by points percentage in Washington,
the third in Dallas, 9, 10, 11 in Carolina, Florida, Tampa.
In terms of cup odds, you have two teams tied for second for cup odds,
seventh, sixth, 12th, like five of these six teams are legit cup contenders.
You are totally nerding out, but that's good info.
Yeah, I blacked out a little bit there because I saw them Philly logo.
Yeah, that's the only one.
But that one's going to have a spice for a different.
reason you're going to be tired in the sense that this is you're now on the road for a week
it's shit because you're and it's the trade right it's like you've got peltje like where's the
kuzmakin one time goal i'll bet it now i don't have to wait till then to bet it's you know what i
mean like that's gonna have a different dynamic not that they're a good team but that they're
kind of in the same boxes the flames just haven't been getting the saves that is a that's
that's ugly yeah it's you're hoping for a win fly to washington and then head three hours south
Yeah, do the old Southeast Division run.
Head back up.
Back up.
And then, oh, by the way, we're just going to swing you through Texas on the way home.
That's not of the way home.
That is on the way to Costa Rica.
That's not on the way home.
Yeah.
That could be the next graphic.
Is the road trip just the flight pattern?
Yeah.
So why?
Are they trying to spell something?
All right.
What are we doing here?
There's your cup odds.
That's all the other odd teams they play.
That's 365.
That's three, six.
you go there, but under futures, you'll find all that stuff.
Yeah, yeah, go to NHL and then slide to the right at the very top.
Futures pop up and then you can do all kinds of regular season trophies,
but that's just a cup winner.
Carolina.
Yeah, they've, Carolina's odds when they were skyrocketed after Rantin and Trade.
They trickled back down.
And Washington's finally getting the respect.
Like they've been far and away the best team of the regular season.
But I was like, yeah, but you know, it's not actually going to be a good team in the playoffs.
Well, maybe they are.
They play great defensively.
We have two goalies.
The coach is going to win coach in the year by a mile.
Ovi's still scoring.
All these late first round guys are good players they've drafted.
But hey, you know what?
At least Philly isn't on there.
Right?
That's right.
I did look at Philly.
They are 30,000 to 1.
25th in cup odds.
Okay.
So.
Not worthy of that graphic.
Yeah.
Shoot.
There was something else I was going to say about the flames.
What was I going to say, right?
I don't know.
Dean.
Was it about the game?
There's a lot to discuss.
Sloviav, no.
I guess so.
Look, he looks like a guy that you don't need to notice a ton
because he's doing the right things.
I always kind of defer to you.
It's a keep it simple.
He's a left-handed red that's Bell Russian.
He played one game.
Yeah, that's right.
Let's just, again, I'm not.
San Jose.
Right.
I just mean, like, if you.
Let's watch the gauntlet and see.
I know your boy, Joel, Joe Hanley,
it was big, but if he can be a better than Hanley or Miramanov,
that doesn't feel like a huge ask.
He's got much more size than both of them.
He's quite a bit younger than both of them.
He's got a lot more ceiling to go chase,
but that would be a good thing for this team
to not have one of Miramanova or Hanley in the top four.
Every fucking night.
Yeah, and you don't need to go into the waiver wire
to get Hanley or whoever else
if you have an injury on your bottom pair.
Yeah, and speaking of waivers, Val Mackey's there right now.
Yeah, I don't know if you saw that.
Yuso Valamaki, former Flames first rounder, who the flame squandered.
Put him on waivers, lost them.
Asset management, poor.
So poor asset management.
Some of the worst asset management we've ever seen.
Now he's back.
And I did check as I said, did the flames get a little?
Did they have the, it's only one season?
Because my thought was, do flames get first crack?
Because he was last with them.
If it was during this season, that would be the case.
Yeah, they lost him a couple years ago, didn't that?
That was a pike bomb.
I don't know if it's.
Oh, nice.
good you can so no it's it's going to be standings related i don't know what he's done to be
honest i just think like i understand the asset management piece but i also think that if we're
viewing the guy pre-injury that that's the same guy as this guy they're not pre-injury he looked like
a blue chip defensive prospect and when he ruined his knee in that off season he never really
moved the same when he was still as a flaming yeah yeah and so yeah he you know sutter wouldn't get
man and that's tough for his development and the GM
and the coach run on the same page.
But we weren't talking about a potential
top pair guy anymore. Yes. Whoa. Oh yeah.
Post. Industry. Yeah.
And that's it just to me it's the saddest thing
because the kid did nothing wrong. He just got hurt
one summer and it's completely derailed what was
a very promising start to his career. And our
hang up wasn't losing the player necessarily.
It was losing it for nothing. Yeah. Sure. I think we'd have been fine with a
trade. Exactly. It's okay. He was a
first round pick that at one
point and I'm not being ignorant about it.
just you had him peg this being a number one for i actually one of my worst takes of all
time was that he'd be the next flames captain because you watched him come in in that
colorado series and he was one of their best defensemen that series that they got pumped in five
it was the kale mccar coming out party but the unders card was like this valamaki kid that he's
got a bright future and then they ended up buying out michael stone and resigning him to fill
the spot when he got injured i think the summer later it was it was a comedy of errors it was
too bad.
So I'm,
my guess would be no.
And do they put a claim in on use of Alamaki?
Is Utah so deep that their scraps are good for everyone else?
I don't know.
Well,
I don't know.
Mate,
you don't have to worry about,
it's whether your scraps are better than their scrap.
Yeah.
So he's a left shot,
which would help if I'm correct,
because they're real heavy on the right.
Well,
plus so with TB8 gone and Slovia.
Yeah,
can he be better than Joel Hanley?
At this point,
I don't know.
I think Hanley would get claimed on waivers.
And then moving forward,
is he better than the next crop of players?
What's he got left though?
Are you just grabbing him for this?
Yeah, he's not,
he's not 21 anymore. Like, this is,
feels like last call here.
Like, I thought that too, because I'm like, well, you don't want to grab
and put him in front of some guys that might be climbing into the league.
But I don't think he's that either.
And Utah has not been in Arizona prior.
Like, they haven't been so good that they've had to like not give him minutes.
He's played a significant role in terms.
Well, for a while there.
because they just don't have the depth,
but then they add Marino and who else did they add
and trade this summer?
So they got way deeper on the blue line,
but still, like,
I just think he's probably a six, seven, eight at this point.
He was at the Four Nations, though, was he not?
Didn't we?
Yes.
Wasn't that a reaction?
I remember your reaction.
What?
This guy was on the...
So was that Matt and Palo guy we'd never heard.
Yeah, I think there were a few.
You're injured.
Finns.
But still,
I don't know.
I don't know.
How do you go from four nations to waivers?
I could,
and I could be wrong about that because I didn't.
I think the only finished defenseman that was active in the initial that didn't get the invite was
Heinlela in Winnipeg.
That's the only reason I think Valemaki was there.
But I can look that up.
Who cares?
Finn blue line.
That would be the only player in that tournament that couldn't crack in it.
That would be on Hibler waivers, I'm guessing.
$2 million cap hit.
It doesn't matter.
Cap doesn't matter here.
It's got one more year.
Oh, he does.
Okay.
Left shot.
I mean, if you didn't have Jake Bean,
maybe you could start the conversation there,
but Jake's already locked in for next year.
I do want to see more Slovia,
but I wouldn't want to see Solov sent down for this.
43 games, five points for whatever it's wrong.
Yeah, the decor here is leaky and has holes.
But if balls coming back,
I don't think you need Valamaki.
And I don't,
just talked about scoring.
I know.
It seems to be more of a concern than a six defenseman.
They have so many guys that are six,
seven, eights.
Yeah.
I think the only reason we would be talked,
if he was any other player,
he was a former first rounder,
but I don't know that we'd be having near this discussion.
That's,
that's the,
granted he got injured and it seemed to derail him a little bit.
But that's the word of caution.
that we could throw at Pinders.
Another first rounder that's...
Well, and look, yeah, like guys get injured.
Noel Patrick just looked like he was going to be a star,
and then migraines and never turned into the player.
He never ate pizza.
He didn't like pizza, red flags all over.
Start of the year, he's a 20-minute guy there for a stretch,
21, 19, 21.
And they're missing guys with injury early.
And then he's in that 15, 1560.
He's second, I guess he was not the second third pair of guy.
I don't know.
We'll find out.
Yeah.
And yeah, they've missed some regulars there.
Plus, he said so many shitty things about the flames.
Yeah, absolutely.
Badmouthed.
Is that what is that right?
Yeah.
Top to bottom.
Top to bottom, Dean.
Which are living in Sutter, obviously, aren't here anymore, but I still feel like the damage is done.
Hard feelings.
Yeah.
Really hard feelings for sure.
Gauntlet run.
Mini Gauntlet run.
Mini.
How long is it real?
How long is it real?
Well, that's what I was saying.
If it's a mini.
I think what, because RJ made the graphic, he's referencing last year when they had that like 15 gamer where it was like 13 of the 15 playoff teams.
By Christmas we'll know because they got the gauntlet.
82 games.
This is gotlet run 2.0.
Yeah, it feels like an 82.
We talked a little bit about it, I guess last week.
What does the Vancouver situation?
How does it or does it impact what Conroy does?
Did I see Demko to the IR?
Before they came back to play.
So they went Lankin on Saturday and then Sheelovs last night.
They lost both and they're both one goal or one goal with an empty net games.
I think Jake DeBrusk has scored since coming back from break.
End of list.
3-1, Vegas, 2-1 last night in Utah.
Yeah.
Well, at least.
Debrusk 2, everyone else, nada.
What do you do, rat?
Trade him.
No.
Yeah, you could.
I would.
Yeah.
And honestly,
that was kind of what we heard
was that
Miller will go
and there's a window
where A leas can say,
I'm better or I'm not.
If you're not,
like you gotta go too
because this is now affecting
your window.
Trading before his value goes to F all.
And those days are,
if they haven't arrived already,
they're here soon.
Yeah,
like what if you're trading for.
Like if you're Philly
and you were keen on this guy
two weeks ago.
Are you?
And now you've seen all the excuses go away.
Oh,
it's his line mates.
Well,
he just went and played at 10.
and a half.
11.6.
That's a lot of
a ton of dough.
Rising cap or not.
Yep.
Now again,
it's,
I think there's some parallels
to the Pier Luke Dubois thing
where it's like
all the talent
that made him
an 100 point player
is still there,
but clearly something is way off
between the years
because it's not like he's
weaker or slower
or dumber than he was.
It's just,
so how do you value that,
right?
It's all the same tools are there when he was an elite number one center.
He lost me last year in a playoffs when he didn't want to play.
Screw you.
And to be fair, that's where Pierluque de Bois lost a lot of people too.
And I'm not given Pierre Luc de Bois have a good year this year.
I'm not ready to.
Yeah, you don't build around him.
He's the number two center.
Well, even that, that this is one year.
He still is a, there's too much history of him being a pain in the ass or I'm like,
oh, he's all good now.
No, totally.
thing is perfect.
Like, yeah, it doesn't mean he's going to be good next year.
Yeah, he needs three or four good years where you're like, okay, he figured it out.
I don't think this guy has a clue.
Peterson.
I think, I'm just looking, he has one goal in his last 17 games.
Oh, my God.
Same as Joel Joe Hanley.
Right?
Like one more than us.
That's, it, again, from a mile from a hundred miles away, just feels like that's not going
to fix itself there.
He needs a change.
He needs something because it's between the ears.
Yeah.
Ice time, power play.
That's practice.
That's not what he needs.
Our next guest will have some insight on it, I'm sure.
And it's a lot of dough.
It's a lot of dough.
But you know what?
We're overpaid too.
Is that right?
Yeah, all the money we make for doing this.
Kind of hard to believe.
It's back.
Oh, Jack.
He just sits there.
He's got from the Lethbridge store.
We go to the, what do they call it?
Havardashery, is that what it is?
Whoa, that's a great word.
Is that the word?
Jack Havardashry, Haverstock.
Something like that.

Frank Sarabelle.
Look at that guy there.
Hello, Frankie boy.
How are we feeling?
Feeling good to be home.
I bet.
Rhett, you know what?
Red had a rare compliment.
What?
For you and really for anyone.
It's not rare.
He said, uh, hold on.
I am sitting down.
Go ahead, Red.
I'm not saying it again.
Because you had been, yeah, you had been in Boston.
And I, he was just remarking.
He was already back.
He was a Super Bowl.
You're a very busy guy that you travel a lot.
You're very busy.
You're a hard worker.
I was gone 15 days, got home and actually we just started off daily face off
live.
Tyler goes, how good did it feel to sleep in your own bed on Friday night?
And I was like, I was banished to the guest room.
Oh, I believe that.
Yeah.
I'm a guest room myself.
The wife had COVID.
Oh, no.
And she goes, it's all your fault.
And I said, what do you mean?
I wasn't even here.
She goes, yeah, but I had COVID and I had to take the kids to everything.
That's why it's your fault.
Yeah. Yep. Yep.
She's wearing a thing.
Kind of a thing.
Stay in the car.
Yeah.
Where do we want to go with Frank?
I mean, we were just kind of Pedersen.
We were talking about Pedersen, obviously, with Demco to the IR.
Because the flames are right there.
Yep.
As the Canucks go, so too, sort of will the flames go, I guess, as they chase down.
Yeah. If the Canucks have four more points here in the last two nights,
things look a lot different than they do in the standings.
And those are the standings that are going to dictate what Connie does.
I guess to the Pedersen thing, it was okay.
Miller's gone.
Well, now this guy can settle back in and get his game going.
And that has not happened.
So last year in the playoffs, it was knee tendonitis.
Then this year was J.T. Miller.
And then it was his line mates.
And then last night after the game, it became, it's the media.
Oh, no.
Yep, that was the quote.
it's quite the bingo card he's got there yeah right he's got to be close to he's an oh away from from
uh getting in the fast lane grandma yeah and um look the fast lane is right the heck out of vancouver
because okay and and i said all this last week coming out of four nations and was crushed
for it in vancouver because i'm a canucks hater that's correct yeah we've got so here's the truth though
not coming from my lips, but coming from the lips of NHL general managers, which this is a direct
quote, there is not one general manager that could feel good about trading for Elias Pedersen
today.
That's a fact.
I believe it.
Because no matter what, there's trepidation and fear.
What happens if this is what this player has become?
And then the Canucks are sitting here, and their issue is maybe the only thing worse than
trading Pedersen for his lowest value would be getting stuck with him for seven years with a
full no move at 116.
And the no move kicks in July 1, correct?
Correct.
This is a small window to get shit done.
But the no moves have been dealt with before.
You're right.
It's there.
But is it that big deal?
They just lose leverage.
Why would you want to be in a position where you lose any leverage in a trade where you don't
have much to begin with.
And then you're stock trying to deal this guy who nobody wants.
You're going to have to sweeten the pots to have somebody take them.
I think we're getting very close to the point where someone's just taking them off their hand.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that.
I saw other people voicing similar opinions on social media.
It can't be everyone else's fault.
So, no, it's not.
It's him for sure.
But so we know that.
We recognize that.
Is there skill there?
Probably.
A hundred percent.
Is it a spot a place you could do this?
Is that worth it to them or is it too long and too much for them to?
I think for anyone it's too long and too much to find out the hard way.
That's where I'm at right now.
I would need to see a significant and consistent run of quality play before taking on a deal of that magnitude.
At which point, the connection is, yes, this is the guy we wanted to see.
once J.C. Miller was going. And that's the conundrum they're in, right?
But that was another opportunity for him, though, to, okay, so then, okay, it was, all right,
Miller's gone. I want, remember he comes out, I want the challenge. And we're like, okay, great.
And then afterwards, when we didn't see it, it was, well, this guy, how many Sweden teammates did we hear at Media Day say,
you're going to see a different Pedersen? No, no, we didn't. Oh, same one. I heard way back.
Same guy that's afraid to shoot, afraid all, like, there's tentative play all over the ice.
Just plain old.
Not willing to engage in contact.
I mean, throwing pucks away.
Rick Tockeet last night, I think, again, saying, got to shoot.
You can't pass up open shots.
This guy has an elite shot.
Such a coach killer.
Oh, man.
Well, I'm talking.
Like, the way he played, like you know the guy that Tockeet relates to is the way the JT Miller
But as a coach, you would, okay, I'm going to put whoever you are.
I'm going to put my faith in this guy.
Don't make me look like an asshole.
And then he continually goes out and makes you look.
I heard there were guys that said even when they drafted them.
They were like, this guy is soft as puppy poo.
Yeah.
This is a bad idea.
And then he has a 40 goal, 100 point season.
And he's obviously supremely talented.
And you go, this is a centerpiece of our team.
And so now if you're the Canucks,
you're potentially looking at the entire backbone of your roster
up front being eroded in a six month period of time
for a team that was one game away,
one win away from the Western Conference final last year.
With their backup goalie and no Besser in an elimination game.
Yeah.
Crazy.
If you're a GM, you're out there in La La Land somewhere and you're GMing.
Are you, so you're not taking any stabs at this guy?
There's no return.
I'm sure someone will
because that's how it works
it only takes one
and there's someone looking at it going
let's just get him out of the cesspool
let's get him out of the negativity
but what are you given in like
I think you're trading a similar size problem
like to me it sounds hilarious
because it's Calgary but like
when you saw the Dubois deal
it was like a piece that Washington didn't need
that was cumbersome for them
they had a better goalie already than Kemper
Kemper was making too much money.
They needed some center.
Why not kick the tires here?
Like I don't think it's realistic, but just walk through it with me.
Huberto and him have similar contracts.
Would that not be something the flame should look at?
You're going to get a similar type problem back if you're trading them in Vancouver, aren't you?
Yeah, but what's the upside for Van?
Yeah.
I mean, you just, like what you just said, that you don't have to, if this guy is dead,
you don't have to pay him 11.6 for the next seven years, six years.
Okay, so you shorten the term a little bit by one.
You're getting a more functional player right now.
You're going to say,
it's not a perfect comparable.
It's not a perfect common,
but it's not a type of thing, right?
It's going to be someone that's got a lot of term that hasn't lived up to it.
Right.
Well,
how many are those guys around the league?
I mean,
it's not a long line.
I just don't know where he goes or how it gets done.
Like I said Chicago because I'm like,
well,
they got cap space.
We just watched San Jose last night.
There has to be more talent for,
Barard to play with.
Well, here's the next part of this, and you hinted at it briefly, but what happens to Rick
Tocke in the final year of his contract? And is there not an option or a walk or something here?
There is an option, but why would he want to be part of it?
That's what I mean.
Not if that coach killer's there.
Well, and then on top of that, it's Bessor's the UFA this summer.
Next year, it's Demco already.
And then two years from now it's Hughes.
And Quinn's looking to saying, we had what team up three, two against the Oilers?
and now two years later what do we have like i'm out of here too but i can't say any of those
things because i'm a i know you can't well it's clean it up yeah we're not much better though we're in
calgary so what the hell do we know and the flames changed us too it was tough last year he had
emminton and vancouver in the same series it really put a lot of calgaryans in a bind maybe that's what
it is maybe it's your yeah i just maybe i just call it exactly like i see it maybe don't do that that's
boring yeah could be like here's another example like chance
Sandler Stevenson, awful signing.
Would the Canucks rather have him for the next six years than Pedersen?
At least he's going to work.
It's going to be a problem for problem trade, isn't it?
Yeah.
Well, okay, so then let's have the crack in conversation if you want to have that.
Yeah.
You can't trade.
Someone helped me explain, like, why is Ron Francis not on, why is his seat not burning hot?
I think it should be.
And it might be why you make a deal like this.
But yeah, I mean, full no moves and all that.
probably going to have it.
Yeah, those signings didn't make sense.
I don't even know where they go from here.
They have no difference makers.
But that could be one.
That would be the first one they have.
That could be a difference maker.
Yeah.
And it would be the perfect place to sting Canucks fans the most.
Three hours south.
Divisional rival.
Maybe that's why they don't do it.
Let's go to Carolina.
We kind of kicked it around shortly after.
Rantinan and went there.
and maybe not really working out.
And to me, the wild card is Tom Dundon,
because no one really knows.
I don't even know if he knows some days
where what his opinion of the NHLs.
That's not right.
So if he continues to not perform at Miko Ranton
levels that we've come to know and they don't get a deal done,
he's not a guy that's going to splash around the dough.
Is there another deal to be done before the deadline?
and we're now getting closer to that deadline.
And it's sounding like it's not crazy talk that...
No.
There's potential that another Miko Ranton and deal could be coming before the deadline hits.
Not crazy talk at all.
And a lot of it is for the reasons you mentioned.
This is an owner that is willing to pay if he sees a clear solution.
and it's hard to look at in a very limited sample size,
anyone being able to definitively say in Carolina,
this is a stone cold great fit.
Plus,
the optionality that Carolina has,
which is we can still flip this guy and get something back
that either A recoups what we gave up
or B, potentially provides us a better fit
when it comes to improving this team for this year's playoffs.
run that I think
they're one team in the league that
wouldn't be afraid to do it.
Man, imagine you ate him and half that money.
You're still a Miko Rent at 2.3.
Yeah, 2.3.
Yeah.
It's insane. You get a 50 goal guy from 2.7.
Everyone can fit that guy in.
Well, the first team I think of is Vegas.
Amazing.
That would be the most Vegas move ever.
Wouldn't it?
Wouldn't it?
I mean, and then, by the way,
guess who the Golden Knights are lined up to play
in the first round of the playoffs today.
Colorado.
Colorado Avalanche.
How delicious that would be.
I mean, look,
Rantanin is number 40 of 40
on my trade targets board.
Their first preference and priority
is to re-sign him.
They've done their due diligence.
They've made their pitch.
They've met in person.
They've done all of it.
But it's the non-committal aspect
of these next 11 days
that I'm sure has them thinking,
and frankly,
I'm sure has other teams thinking around the NHL,
well,
if he's not resigning there
and they're putting a pile of dough on the table,
maybe he's just not resigning with anyone
and he's going to go to market.
So should we be the team that ponies up to get him now?
But I would position a team like Vegas as like,
hey, well, if we get another cup,
like we don't care if he walks.
We'll do with that later.
There's not a lot of people leaving there for,
greener pastures.
They've been told guys
are opening to resigning and they all
resign there.
Like even Hannafit,
it was like they didn't seem
worried if they'm not signing.
I think some of the recent history here,
Pinder has me thinking that Carolina's in a tough spot.
Like,
I think they've done everything right this time around with Rantaninan.
They gave him some time to get his feet wet.
Obviously then jumps to four nations.
He maybe has spent like a total of 10 days in Carolina,
which is not much to really get a sense of things.
But they've been patient.
then they made their pitch.
Their issue with Jake Gensel last year was they didn't put the full court pressure on.
They didn't, had they made that offer of eight times eight in March or April,
as Gensel was well north of a point per game player and a fantastic fit for them,
they would have kept him.
He would have resigned, I believe.
Once it went on and lingered for so long, at some point he's like,
hey, I've made it this far.
Might as well go to market.
And then Carolina tried to do everything they could in the last week before free agency.
And it was too late.
So they realized that it's it's not easy to keep these guys.
And they've got to really push.
How much will they push after a non-committal answer is what's going to be interesting to me.
And then you flip the script and there's Miko Ratan.
And he knows that he hasn't fit in there well on the ice.
He's only been there, like you say, 10 days.
So I've got 11 days now to decide if I want to spend eight more years here.
With your buddy, I'll offer me 11, 12 million a year.
I'll make a decision in the next 10, 11 days.
I'll be able to give you a clear ass.
They've offered more than that.
But do you know what I mean?
It's for him.
They've offered north of $100 million.
And that's the McKinnon number that they weren't going to go past allegedly in Colorado.
Right.
But is it enough to get, like, I don't believe they've gotten to 14, which is what they were seeking in Colorado.
And to me, that's not a Dundon thing then.
No, it's not at all.
But when you take when you get an offer like that and then you don't accept it,
that's when you get a Dundin response,
which is what are we doing here?
This guy is not producing and we've offered and then and why would like,
what are we doing?
What's the agent in Rattan thinking like they want 14?
Is free agency getting him 14 and is there a risk that by playing by playing it out that I,
if I'm playing at this standard.
Meaning not with Nathan McKinnon.
Yes.
Right.
I think there's some risk, but like,
well, the doors off from.
Again, we're talking about like,
the minimum baseline here is
100 million bucks.
If you get to, I don't know,
120, like,
we're talking like, either way,
Miko Ranton is safe.
So like, it's been de-risk.
We're talking about how big of a boat you can buy,
really in the end of the day.
And then,
and then in the summer,
it's not 32 teams,
but there will be more teams than just one
Carolina hurricane.
team. And with the cap going up the way
that it has, there's, yeah, it's going to be
way more than ever even thought possible.
So he's 40 on your draft board.
Why, I guess just your thought
process on that? Because as we kind of
their preference and priority is to
resign him. I guess we work with it. It feels like
I can, I can see a trade.
Until they get to a point where
they've exhausted that option.
And like here's the other part of this
that we don't know yet. They might
make the commitment either way and say,
you know what? We're
keeping this guy no matter what.
Yeah.
We're going to, even if it means him walking and going to free agency,
we're keeping him through the playoff run.
We haven't gotten that to that point yet.
So that's why he's that far down on the board.
And I think you would believe if you're the hurricanes that,
A, you've got a really good team.
You've been close a bunch in the last half decade,
but you haven't been able to get over the hump.
If he was around for that as a pending you,
you'd think his chances of resigning go way up because he's,
now it's not just X number of weeks in Carolina.
It's months and you're having success.
Now, you've got to win, but I mean, that's a team.
But if you bomb out in the first round,
Oh, then, yeah.
That just went.
Right.
But I think that they're willing to bet on themselves in a sense.
Like if push comes to show, I think they would walk them to you.
I don't know.
I think it's a coin flip.
I think they are just crazy enough to flip him.
And I think they're also crazy enough to say, you know what?
Doesn't matter what happens.
We're going to let him walk at the end of it.
We'll go chase Marner.
with that money this summer, like something like that, right?
I think that's a guy that they called on before making the rant in India.
It's another guy.
Another to you.
And again, it's not the playoffs, so we don't hear a lot about Marner, but another good season,
a good performance at four nations.
He still doesn't have a contract.
It's Toronto.
That's, is it eerily quiet, Frank?
Or is because he's playing well and there's just nothing to report that it is quiet?
Or is it?
Yeah, I would say quiet by design.
Yeah.
they don't want to
they don't want to shitstorm
now that is he that market's insane
yeah
they're very careful about that
the flames are going through a
they're going to go on a road trip here right away
that'll see them in Tampa Bay and in Florida
no Matthew Kachuk
what's he did not play a ton
in the last couple games in that
four nations tournament
if at all Frank see this up to this last Monday
him off the bus after the Saturday game
was not pretty yeah and and
in some ways, as unbelievable as both the Kachuk brothers were in this tournament,
and I get their hunger and their fight, and I, like, seriously admire it.
But at what point were they, was Matthew playing a detriment to Team USA?
I think a fair question to ask.
When you have a, yeah, on the championship game, when you have a soft tissue injury like
that, groin or hamstring, I don't know what's one it is.
and you decide to play.
Of course, when you say to your coach,
hey, Mike Sullivan, I'm good to go.
Like, he's putting you on his lineup card.
But at what point should you have bowed out
because you gave him a period and a half?
Should Kyle Connor have played?
Like, is that a fair question to ask?
And then the next part is,
to answer your question about the injury,
they're getting imaging done today.
He's not done for the season.
And the imaging will tell them, is this a shorter term thing or a longer term thing?
But I believe we'll see Matthew Kachuk again in the regular season.
So with the option of an LTIR, Kuchar, Vegas situation, you're not expecting.
I don't think so unless they find something today where the, I don't know, the groin is completely torn.
I mean, I can't have no idea.
Because you brought it up.
I have faith in Matthew Kachuk in the playoffs, whether he played.
between now and then or not.
If this can allow us to maybe add a weapon.
$9 million player, yeah.
And then bring Matthew back.
I mean, people would hate it,
people hate it.
But if I'm Bill Zito, I'm absolutely doing it.
I'm having a conversation with Matthew.
Matthew, just you're going to be right to this.
I'll say actually there's three.
One, they don't have any assets.
Yeah.
So the cap space is one thing,
but who are you going to trade or what are you going to trade to bring something in?
and then the other part is
I'm looking at this team
they haven't been the dominant force
that they were
they haven't properly replaced
Montour and Ekman Larson
and they went to the Stanley Cup final
two years ago and went to game seven last year
that's a ton of hockey
at some point that's all going to catch up to them
if it's not right now
and not to say that they're not a team to be cognizant of
but I just don't think they're the force that they were the last two years.
I'd agree.
My counter would be trade two more future first and go plug that.
They don't have them to trade.
Sure.
You got the one, the next one you do have you trade.
I mean,
it's 2027 and then the next one after that's 2028.
So you trade your 2027.
I mean,
at what point are you just?
Traded their 2026 last year to get Hanifan.
Yeah, well, that might end up working out.
It should be on the table.
If you're Florida, why not?
That's going to get to the defenseman that can help you.
or maybe you just say, you know what, we've got cap space finally.
This isn't our year.
We've got cap space in the summer.
We can make things happen and we'll reload for them.
Real quick, just because we're there on Florida.
Sam Bennett had a huge final.
A huge final, but a very quiet preliminary round.
Agreed.
And again, in Calgary, quite regular season is great in the playoffs,
a much better regular season player in Florida,
a centerman, a guy that plays with edge.
It's a wet dream for a lot of GMs.
he going to get? Or do they bring them back?
I'd imagine they find a way to keep him based on all the things you just said.
Yeah.
How much does that number stretch with the playoff success?
There's still very limited regular season point production slash utility.
Like I'm not reaching by saying that.
Like his numbers kind of cap out right at that like 48 point mark essentially.
It's not a 30 goal center, right?
Yeah.
So I think I actually was having this conversation with Stan Bowman on Friday.
I'm dropping a frankly speaking this week.
And he said being a GM in the NHL is hard, not because he's saying like, oh, this is a hard job.
But you have to build a team for the regular season's success to get in.
And then you need to build a totally different team to have success in the playoffs because the game changes so much.
You need a Bennett for the playoffs.
You like him for the regular season, but don't love him.
But you're really not going to like him if you have to pay him a significant.
number for that regular season.
Well, and when does a guy feel comfortable where he's at?
And then like Sam Bennett seems to like Florida.
Sam Ryanhart did too, right?
Those guys saw some situations that were less optimal.
So here's another question that you guys would be able to answer better than me.
Do you have any concern with the way Sam Bennett plays about his body breaking down at some point?
Like how long would you go on term?
How old Z?
That's a good question.
I was just looking.
he's got 18 goals this year.
That's another thing.
He is 28.
Boy, yeah.
Like turn 29.
29 before free agency.
Wow.
What's the number?
33.
31.
33 for defenseman.
And power forwards don't age gracefully to your point.
It's a good question.
They do not.
And look, I'm looking at his numbers right here.
Career high points, 49.
I said, capped out.
I said 48.
I mean, I was.
Genius.
There's many years that he didn't.
get there. Oh, yeah. Oh, we saw all them. Yeah. He had 19 as a rookie, Frank, and that probably
was the worst thing to happen in his career, because otherwise he would have gone to the A.
And after that, they just were trying them all over. He didn't fit anywhere. I would try and pitch
him on how does three years times six million work, but I think that's a number of,
yeah, that's the problem. Yeah. Someone's going to say how to six times six feel. Right.
And that's, that's going to be the issue. That's more.
That's more by my math.
Quite a bit more.
What about the Bruins?
I'm interested in Boston because they're trying to hang on to it forever.
And then they got injuries.
Is the towel finally going to be thrown in on this team?
It seems like in Don Sweeney's press conference over the weekend that he was inching closer to waving that white flag, not completely there yet.
And also like the way this East works is you're one good week away from being in the driver's seat.
I mean, there are three points out.
of seven.
But you still have to be good enough to be in the driver's seat.
And I get it.
But what,
when's Jeremy Swaming going to show up?
I know they've struggled to score and I know they've got roster deficiencies.
They don't have a center.
They don't.
They're missing now,
McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm's done for the year.
They're top pair for like a half decade,
those two guys.
Right.
But I'm looking at their goaltending going,
oh, that covered up a lot of issues the last couple years.
Now all of a sudden, Swayman's in the 800s,
and he signed long term,
when will he snap out of it?
Because you get a month of goaltending from Jeremy Swamon
in his normal 918, 920 range,
and they make the playoffs without blinking.
It's funny.
Both of those guys, it was almost a full platoon last year,
Olmark and Swayman.
And you could believe they were both great goalies,
but the argument was you've never seen them
when a number one's workload.
This year they're both getting it.
Both haven't been as good.
And maybe that bounces back next year
and it's just that everything's different.
But you would be lying if you thought
Olmark or Swayman looked anywhere as good as it did last year
when they were playing every other game.
Yeah. And Allmark's been hurt.
And Swayman has had to deal with the mental workload
of being paid and sitting out and being that guy.
it's a lot.
Yeah, potential there.
Just looking at it here now, the final spots in the east.
You got Ottawa with maybe a hurt Kachuk.
Detroit's doing its thing.
Columbus is still in that mix, Boston,
and then there's the Rangers who.
Yeah, look out.
Are they coming?
Are they falling?
It feels like it's a week-to-week kind of deal there with.
They reverted back to December over the weekend.
I think Detroit's 8-1 and 2 in their last 11.
But they're an adventure every night.
Yeah.
Against Minnesota on.
sorry, it was insane.
They're up 3-1 and somehow find a way to lose late.
And both Detroit and Ottawa are facing significant pressure to get in.
They both need to get in.
Frank, appreciate you, buddy.
Do you have a name for your suite in the basement where you're staying?
Chateau Bow Wow.
Yeah.
Perfect.
It's all right.
I got a fridge here and a bathroom and this studio.
I can convert into only fans.
It'll be great.
Okay.
Look at Frank's French after going to Montreal.
What a guy.
Beautiful stuff.
Yeah, that's right.
Thanks, Frankie, boy.
Appreciate you.
See you guys.
There he is.
Crystal Waters,
crystal clear choice for all residential plumbing and heating and cooling services.
23 years and more of doing this sorts of things.
They are the very best.
They're here for you.
Make sure, it's warming up.
But you know what?
Maybe that AC.
Maybe this is the year you get AC for you're done sweating,
not getting sleep at night.
There's nothing worse.
They're on top of the covers being all.
Oh, gross.
Yeah.
Sticky.
Why bother?
Crystal waters plumbing and heating.
Crystal clear calgary.com.
The phone number 403, 219, 4100.
Chateau bow wow.
Chateau bow wow.
We've all been there.
We've all been there.
Yeah, I don't know.
It seems crazy for a team like Boston.
They're one point back of the second wildcard to be talking about packing it in.
But I just look at, you look at this number right.
there. Goals for, goals against the differential between the two.
Top three in the, in the east, the Atlantic are like plus 47, plus 26. There's a plus 65 there
in Washington, plus 36 for the devils. The Bruins are minus 26. The last place Sabres are minus
eight. Like they have a much worse goal differential than the worst team in the east.
Well, it's, it's kind of like Vancouver for me where you got those Demco being out.
If your top T pair is out, that is, right.
Yeah.
And regardless of,
going to have to just get better.
He's going to have a tougher environment.
Yeah.
If you're getting 800 something, say percentage,
it doesn't matter how much money you're making.
Well,
and I think he put a lot of chips in about on a lot of guys.
And it,
it hasn't looked good all along.
No.
Right?
Like, it looked like they took a stab at something that wasn't there.
Oh, we're going to fill this hole.
We're going to find.
Lentholm and we're going to bring in a defenseman and ours,
ooh.
They approached the offseason as if the Calgary Flames games weren't available in
video last year.
Yes.
So they couldn't have seen Lentholman's door off.
Was it two years ago?
Yeah, 22, 23 season.
Yes, set a record.
They had 65 wins, 135 points to lead the league and set a new regular season record.
Same.
So I guess you get, you might get sucked into that if you're a G.
first round exits.
Well, and also
Bergeron and Creachy gone.
Like you can't overstate that.
And Marchand not be like.
It doesn't.
It doesn't look like a great spot.
And it looks like a team that you'd be,
if you'd be smarter to turn to page.
Yeah.
In my opinion.
But I thought that last summer.
They'll trade Trent Frederick.
He's a guy that's getting a lot of buzz.
Yeah, the guy you want.
He's a you.
And it's like,
yeah, this is the type of guy that Boston would.
get into a hard negotiation with and find a way to get signed.
But now it's like they just got to start recouping young assets because clearly this
core they're building around.
It's not three years.
They kind of locked in on this stuff.
Are you on there?
Yeah,
like Lindholm is 31.
And how many years left?
He's in until 2030.
Six years after.
McAvoy is fine,
but he's 27.
He's in until the 2030 season.
Same with Zedorov at five million.
They've got him.
Hapuz is getting up there in age.
And I'm not even,
I don't know.
it just starts to look like a mucky middle team,
not an elite team because who are their game breakers?
They've got Posternak and McAvoy,
but if the goalie hasn't looked like the goalie that played 40 games a year,
he looks like every goalie.
Well, and who's keeping up with Posternak?
Nobody.
And so Pasternak's production goes down
because he doesn't have a center that can distribute the puck
the way that he used to get from Bergeron.
Patterson.
Is that what it is?
Oh, my God.
That's full chips in.
To have Elias,
Lindholm and setting up pasta?
Yeah, baby.
Cam will figure it out.
Cam's not the boss.
So the challenge I face isn't that they couldn't get in.
It's that Detroit's playing better.
Ottawa is playing better and I think it is better.
Columbus is playing better. Maybe they're not as good as the Bruins.
And the Rangers are a better team on paper that have a game in hand
or only one back of Boston.
Like there's two spots for those five teams.
Swamen has to be phenomenal for them to get in.
Now you're deleting two of their best defensemen.
Certainly their best in McAvoy and their second or third best in Linnell.
Go watch Zad Dog.
Yeah, give him some more time.
That'll be great.
Yeah.
Swayman will be jacked about that.
Oh, we get top pair of Zad Dogg.
Awesome.
What did they end up paying him?
Old, uh, five, six.
8.25 for Swamen.
Oh, Swamen.
Yeah.
For all the years.
Yep.
And then they basically,
you Ottawa gave the same deal to Olmark, who,
it's a bit of a bandaid when he has to play more
than every other game, apparently.
He'll figure it out.
Probably.
Don't worry, guys.
He'll figure it out.
But yeah, not to go all in on Boston, but you, Pastornak,
Marchand is, I mean, he may stay, but still, he's.
Comes across right now as a guy that's not comfortable.
Super loving it.
No, right?
He's taking hometown deals his whole career there.
And if he wants to go to market, he could find a better team and more money.
Wow.
To me, he looks like a guy that this is his buddies.
Those guys left and it's a change and the room's different and I've got to be the leader and we've got a bunch of duds in here and they're not working the way I want to.
It looks like a guy that's frustrated with the situation.
I wonder too about events like what we just saw where you leave your team.
Oh, yeah.
And hang around other elite players.
So life's good in Florida.
Oh, dude.
It's the best out of all you.
you would just talk to so many guys who play at a high level
who have their own unique experiences.
And then this summer you're going to be a free agent.
I don't know how those conversations don't take root.
Well, we talked about it a ton with just Crosby McKinnon.
Well, and if you're Boston, do you let him just walk to, is he going to free agency?
Oh man, lose him for nothing.
That'd be crazy.
But yeah, maybe you have to because you're a point out of the playoffs.
What are you going to do?
You say, Brad, what do you want to do?
Deadlines two weeks away.
11 days today what do you want to do well they didn't wait till now to say that yeah
yeah you shouldn't we just haven't really thought about boston a whole a whole time well and i guess
the two injuries if they've got macavoy and lent home you're still going okay well i see something
there but no that's making them worse right like i i for marchand extending sure but i mean it
just tells you for him making his decision yeah it's oh they'll figure it out good luck boston
Don?
Yep.
Donnie.
Who do you have more faith in as a goaltender?
Shasturkin or swimming?
Shasturkin by a mile.
Probably the Russian, yeah.
Just bigger body of work.
And he's had the big workload.
It's not new.
And I think it's a thing, man.
That's who's going to get in.
Rangers?
Well, the guy, the team with the goaltender that's, right?
Like if Ottawa, if Allmark, you get a,
is poop in a group.
Well, they're probably going to be.
Shisterkin goes on a roll,
Swainman can find it.
Then you're okay.
I think Talbot's been pretty deadly for Detroit as crazy as that sounds.
Like he's been a big part of that eight one and two round.
Pick him up.
He's picked up.
Former flame.
Great guy.
Great guy.
He has a really nice guy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hey,
Canada.
Your favorite contest is back.
Roll up the rim.
Roll up to win.
It's back.

swipe of a thumb.
You don't do it the thing anymore, right?
You knew that.
She used to use the thumb, but you'd roll.

ID Buzz.
That's a cool.
Even the simple joy of winning a free coffee or donut can make anyone's day.

like this saliva covered thing I got to take to the store
much more sanitary. Thanks, Tim,
I mean, really thinking about all of us, yeah.
Less germs, all that sort of thing.
Good stuff.
Jack, how was your weekend?
I know you were, um,
weren't you getting ready with your dumb, stupid friends to go get liquored up or something?
Yeah, I know we had a little bit of a barbecue.
It's pretty tame.
I was pretty disappointed.
I made it home both nights, Friday, Saturday.
That's just, how old are you?
26.
Yeah, that's appalling.
Not good.
What are we doing here?
What?
yeah i've had a long stretch of long weekends and long nights i needed to not be
hung over this week and sick or something yeah
so my weekend was good i just watch movies are little guys growing up maybe one of us
has to and uh one is in for the nine nine nine oh he had another nine we've told you but yeah
yeah there's a third or fourth nine um
of us, and you can't tell by the camera angles, but one of us has truly bought into spring.
Spring has sprung.
Somebody came to work today with shorts on.
I don't want to give it away.
Can, can, can you do the can, can, can.
So nice.
So what was it?
Is it, I'm wearing shorts, or did you open the drawers?
Shorts, maybe what led to this?
Gorgeous out.
Yeah?
Yeah.
You walked in the room and I said, whoa, shorts.
February.
Yeah.
Feb shorts.
Feb shorts.
And you're happy with the decision?
I'm pumped with the decision.
I'm going with it until I can't.
I'm ready for shorts.
It's not my short season yet, but pants suck.
You could.
You could do it.
What's holding you off?
Maybe I'll wear shirts tomorrow.
What's the cut off?
You know what?
Maybe this is shorts.
What are we talking about?
What's the weather?
Texting.
texting like today like to day what about you jack are you uh because i got to admit i'm i'm heavy shorts
guy and then it's kind of always when you're pulling the pants on the full length and your calves
and knees are like what's going on what are you doing what's what's your threshold because that
that guy in winnipeg he was the total yeah that's not like and there's always a few guys from
the east coast like i had got bartender buddies in buffalo that
wore shorts all year. Now it doesn't get to minus 40 in Buffalo, but it gets cold enough.
It's cold enough. And I've heard they get snow. They do when it snows. When it snows, it snows. That's
what I've heard. Cargo shorts are great. February 24th. Do you go? It's plus 12 today.
What are you thought like that's short weather? That is short weather. Like that can be a July day.
If we were on the other side of it, September, October, we've been wearing shorts.
Oh, yeah. 100% hanging off for dear life. Tuesday 10.
Wednesday, 12th, Thursday, 3rd.
Oh, the outdoor rinks are cooked.
Yeah, I know.
That's the one bad thing.
It was too cold to skate for three weeks.
It was too warm to skate for three.
We lost six weeks.
Well, and it's all of when you're on the lake,
you only get two months anyway.
Got to wait until it's thick enough and then.
Yeah, God, let's go on a trip.
Hey, I got a trip for us.
Okay.
Road trip.
Buffalo.
June 14th.
Oh, no, you're going to like this.
You might not like this.
You might not like this.
George Strait, Chris Stapleton, high mark stadium.
Sign me up.
Whoa, that's a huge crowd.
That the football stadium?
70,000.
Yes.
Holy.
Let's go.
Question.
What?
Are they playing anywhere else?
I believe it's a tour.
There might be other cities.
One off.
Yeah, I think there's other cities they may visit.
Yeah, but you've always wanted to go to Buffalo.
Well, I think that's overstating it a bit.
I've always wanted to go.
If I could paraphrase what Dean has said over years,
it would be neat to go to Buffalo with threat
and experience some of the Buffalo things.
But again, June, it's very nice in June
in a lot of places.
It's gorgeous and Great Lake region in June.
Okay.
There's baseball.
We can zip over to NYC for some Yankees.
Finger Lakes?
Huh?
Finger Lakes?
Oh, baby.
You know what?
You're not invited.
See, I know.
It's a very small.
window. I know it was a very small window if I go right and jack this way can you take a camera that's I want that to happen so badly you two oh where are you going to go well those are done come on george update your website on short looks like Philadelphia May 10th Buffalo June 14th Foxborough June 21st and then Inglewood july 19th so what's better so inglewood california yeah so far that's so five what's the date on la again?
July 19th.
And honestly,
it never gets that hot in L.A.
Dino?
Well, you go to Sofi.
I'll go to Buffalo.
One of those absence
makes the heart grow fonder things.
Maybe you just do it separately
and talk about it later together.
If we go to Buffalo,
like are you a big deal there?
Like we're going to meet,
we're going to meet George,
hang out,
have some of his coat of go with tequila?
George Strait doesn't give it.
Rats ass about it.
What about Josh Allen
and his lovely bride to be?
He could probably get in there.
What about Rob Ray?
Oh, wow.
So we get into the Pinder Report, a presentation of Village Honda.
The Honda Civic Hybrid named winner of the North American Car of the Year for a record setting fourth time.
That's Civic.
The other vehicle makers, they can't stand that Civic.
It keeps winning all these damn awards.
It's reliable.
It's one more.
It's won more North American Car of the Year awards and any other nameplate in the 30-year history of the award.
Just hogging all the awards.
They refresh it again for 2025.
They've improved on it again.
Son of a gun.
Somehow, some way.
Canada's best selling compact car.
Take one for a rip and find out why.
Buy.
Do it on your own.
Do it for yourself.
Your dealership for life is Village Honda.
And they present the PINRA.
More on Robre in a moment, fellows.
But the flames were in action last night.
And it was another howl a night for Dustin Wolf, who's up to 20 wins.
the fifth fastest American rookie net minor to 20 in a season.
This is a nice list to be on.
Hall of Famer,
aka Mr.
Zero,
Frank Brimso,
Ryan Miller,
Tom Barrasso,
and the aforementioned Jeremy Swamon who were pooing on today.
So of that group,
who are you wanting?
Brimick would be great.
Miller,
I would take,
yep.
Barrasso won cups.
Swamen looks to be very good.
He's had one bad half year.
That's this year.
It's good company,
Brett.
I don't know a whole lot about Brim Sick, to be honest.
It's quite a long time ago, like 100 years ago, but I worked at the Hall of Fame and he was always great trivia.
Mr. Zier.
You worked at the Hall of Fame?
Yeah.
2000.
Trash cans?
I was one of the tour guide guys.
I was working part time at the score.
Oh, my.
And part time at the Hall of Fame.
It was like the biggest summer nerd of all time.
Does this guide of ours ever shut up if we want to get to the next room?
So they have the shooting game, the goalie game.
They don't care.
The great hall.
where you see the cup.
You watch old men drop to the knees and cry.
Kids spot in grandfather's names on the cup.
It was a really cool job.
Yeah.
That's cool job.
Sounds cool.
Great job.
Plus you get Phil.
You should just stuck with.
Yeah,
whatever.
Made something myself.
Maybe I could be the guy hand out of the cup.
Now I'll probably talk too much.
Yeah.
Phil Pritchard.
Yeah.
The guy with the Lloyd Christmas haircut.
A wispy.
Could have his job.
Yeah.
Well,
it's pretty good.
You got Jack.
Look, Jack is leading back at his chair.
The Lloyd Christmas.
No, it's funny.
I've always wondered about that guy.
Like is that just his job?
He just brings up the cup.
He's the keeper of the cup.
Keeper.
When the players get their days with the cup, he's there.
He is, he or one of his compadres has to be there.
Somebody has to tell the skanks to get the lipstick off the cup.
Among other things.
Right.
Yeah, that's.
Morad Wolf.
Let's get back on track here.
A fewest games of 20 wins in flames history.
Yeah, it can be.
Vernon, Kiprasoff, Riddick.
Vernon, Kipersoff, Kipersov.
Kipersoff, that's the other guys.
I feel like Kepersoff should have done it faster
more often. It's terrible.
I feel like
the guys around them were terrible.
Oh, look at the team that
Wolf's done it with, boys.
They got Miramadov Hanley in the top four
every night. They don't have a guy that's going to score 30
probably. It's incredible.
Good for him. No 304. No Warner
Hale.
I mean,
Ginnla there the whole
time. Come on.
Uh-huh.
Although he wasn't much of a defender, was he?
Fly the zone.
It's been very good.
Probably got him two points last night.
I'd hate to see what that result looks like with a mere mortal in net
or a league average netminder, so to speak.
Yeah, he's pretty good at making things.
I would like to because we'd have a really high draft pick.
A lot more clarity.
Yeah.
It's hard to know.
James Higgins, this Matthew Schaefer.
Schedule, gauntlet run.
We showed you it before.
We'll show you it again.
It's just really hard.
because there's five cup contenders in six games.
There's a back-to-back.
You're all over the continent.
You're not in a compact.
Horatious travel, Ryan.
And then you return home for Montreal,
Vancouver, Colorado,
supercharged environment at home
with two of those home teams
and the other ones at Gauntlet.
The abs spun you around like a top before the break.
Then you go on the road again.
Toronto, Rangers, Devils, Islanders.
Then you get Dallas,
Edmonton, Colorado.
Like, it's a tough run for the fellas.
It's a hard league, right?
Hard league, fast game.
Yeah.
You know, it's a hard league to play it, Red.
Thanks, Wawks.
I played it in it.
It's look at the standings.
We'll start out east.
We are back from the Four Nations break.
Reminder, a little refresh.
We'll look at first the top threes.
These are pretty set.
Now, the Atlantic's a little tighter,
but Tampa's going to start playing these games in hand.
They have on all the teams chasing them.
Some real safe spot, hey?
Safer than the next,
but we're going to show.
Washington, by the way, they're going to see.
Florida they're going to see Tampa they're going to see
Oh yeah so four of those teams there the flames will see on this upcoming road trip
The wild card is going to be phenomenal good to the last draw hopefully in the east to your point that I mean that metro sorry jack yeah go back
You are at the 57 game mark comfy 14 that's a that's a that's a mahusive lead and there hasn't been some record setting winning streak that they've gone on or
They've been damn good.
Look at the losses.
We're just pretty consistent over here.
Winning's better than losing.
They don't lose.
Washington Capitals made the Oilers look silly yesterday,
and I get it.
Not everyone's right coming out of the break,
but they're doing a lot of things right.
This isn't one thing.
They're going out of the break.
Well, they didn't have anyone at Four Nations.
So who does the Oilers have?
McDavid and Ekholm and.
Eckholm played three games.
Yeah.
Oilish fans are telling you
way more though Skinner was going to go
Bouchard was going to go
Hyman was going to go
this is good for the Oleros though
because Boucherad is shit this year and they don't
assign them to as much
probably good point
as long as you shit in the playoffs I'm totally in for that
yeah because it's really good in the plastic
playoffs like a point of half game
yeah what I mean what it's for you
yeah because you would love a good high cap hit there though
oh yeah I know the key to me
is an early flame out in the playoffs this year
which is a big ask but that really plants
to see to doubt with Connor
because they've got no prospects.
They're already the oldest team in the league.
And you get the big pay jumps for Bouchard and Drysadle next year.
That'd be great.
But enough about my petty hatred of the Edmonton Oilers.
And back to the wild card, Jack.
Back to you, Ryan.
Where Detroit, Ottawa, Columbus, Boston, New York,
and maybe even the Islanders, who knows,
are trying to secure the final two spots.
They're not doing anything.
They're not going to probably think about trading rock lobster.
They're all good.
Got a good goalie.
kind of like
Rock Lobster.
Thank you.
Also,
uh,
some word that Noah Dobson might be on the block.
They come up.
He did not play last night.
It's his 10th game.
He was on LTIR.
Now that he's missed 10,
he can be activated to play Tuesday when I believe they have the Rangers.
There's your Noah Dobson update.
Big road trip.
Huge.
Uh,
out west also kind of feels like the teams in these slots are pretty comfy.
I look at the Pacific.
I don't see those teams getting caught by Calgary.
Uh, that's comfy.
There's a good little battle for top spot in the Pacific.
Not unlike out east, the Winnipeg Jets are having a whale of a season, fellas.
They are not in danger of falling out of top spot in the conference anytime soon.
Yeah, 40 wins, Dean.
How proud are you?
So proud.
J-E-E-T-E.
Yeah.
Uh, Dallas.
Nice little run here.
Thomas Harley coming out party for many at the four nations.
Minnesota's one to watch.
They've got Colorado in the River,
who haven't been great out of the break,
but they're missing.
Caprizov for a while.
They've got Hartman on that huge suspension.
They had to come back from 3-1 on Detroit Saturday to get a win, which was
remarkable, but it might be tough sledding for a while, and it's not a
short-term injury for Caprizov. They haven't been the same without him,
and rightfully so. He was a guy you were talking about in heart conversations
before the injury. Yeah. Wildcard in the West, stick a peek.
Canerks holding down the final one, one point up on the flames. Flames two hold a game
in hand. Canucks 0-and-2 since the break. Imagine if the dummies hadn't given up that
St. Louis, you're going to keep talking.
No, Utah, or was it Seattle or the last game?
Colorado hasn't looked sharp either.
They've, eh, since coming back.
Well, probably because those guys were playing some higher important hockey.
Then they shouldn't play.
I wouldn't have minded that either.
Actually, when I saw David playing against Philly and Sam, I'm like, what the hell you do?
Yeah, that didn't make sense to me.
That's dumb.
Sid played back to back.
Come on out of this.
He had an interesting.
going in. It doesn't rest. It's a machine. Killer. Jack, can we get him to Colorado?
Stone cold. Yeah, we can. No, you can. I don't. Please. Now, where do you want to do our good
pal Rob Ray? Because it was the highlight of the weekend. Unbelievable. I don't know if it's the
highlight of the weekend. It was so amazing. Everyone's talking about it. Vechkin news. I've got
McCarney news. We got injury news. We got birthdays. We got draft date. We got games tonight. We got
Gab McCanna, but I feel like we've got to leave with Rob Ray.
Sure. I mean, it's the Finder Report.
Did you want to set this up? Because Rob Ray...
I mean, Rob Ray does color for the Buffalo Sabres. There's no more setup.
Well, he does it at ice level.
Okay. Yeah, that's right. He's between the benches, which is his place he likes to call games from.
And he has had some interactions with, you know, some of the equipment and hockey before between the benches.
Buck has dropped and it's four to...
Oh, fuck.
Here in the opening period. And Razor just took...
another one and that was a rocket doctors checking razor out very quickly that was close to the eye
a little smile there at the end then it's four in the opening period and razor just took another one
anyone else i'm very worried and concerned yeah i would like to know what was going through his head
right then because he's realized okay i've f bombed plus this hurts like a son of him and then someone
on the soundboard just immediately has dropped his mic down and then
That's the end of the game.
And let's be honest.
That is minimal damage for taking a puck right between the luckers.
For any other human.
Swollen cheekbone.
You'd be swollen shut.
You wouldn't be able to see anything.
You'd be leaking.
There'd be blood all over your shirt.
Like it looks, it looks like he popped a zit or something.
And it's just got a little out of hand.
He had an ingrown hair and his eyebrow.
What an animal.
Is there a harder skull in the world?
Can we get a Guinness World Record?
to somehow measure how hard his skull is.
This guy took punches
for decades.
Pucks, whatever.
And to Rob Ray, I mean,
the bad news is, like that happened,
and we're not happy.
The good news is, welcome to the soundboard.
And thank you for that.
It's almost perfect.
I mean, Dan Levy kind of steps on him at the end,
but I still think it's probably,
I think it captures,
the spirit of it, you know? Yeah, I think it's a hit.
Welcome to the soundboard, Rob.
You'll live on forever and infamy.
I don't think Dan Dunleavy was expected
Razor to have a response.
It's probably trying to distract the audience.
Like, and the only other thing is
Buffalo was actually winning. That feels like
something would have happened if they were down for nothing.
And it's for nothing Rangers and
oh, fuck.
They.
Oh, fuck.
So things are coming around.
Rangers locker
What's you say?
You don't want to go to Buffalo?
You don't want to go to
You don't want to go have coffee with that guy in his sweatpants
and talk about the bills, come on.
Sorry, Rob.
Keel McCart, good at hockey.
Yeah.
How good?
Well, probably one of the best defensemen ever.
Third fast is to 400 points.
Look at the company, gents.
Bobby or Paul Coffee,
the only two to get to 400 points quicker,
ordered it in 333.
Paul Coffee, 359 games.
Camacar.
3.74. Your
part of game defense, and that's impressive, but
only ore and coffee putting up more than you
and you think about the era that coffee played in
and the enigma that ore was. Yeah,
that's great company. Calgary Kid.
I don't know what more we should be doing
to recognize
and pay attention. I guess this is it, but it
still feels like we're selling short what he is
doing. We're watching one of the absolute
greats of all time.
Yes. Do it in front of our faces.
Come home for the new ring.
Kiel. Come home.
That's a tough sell.
I think it is too, but let's, we got to, you can't.
What is it how many?
What percentage of the shots you don't take to?
Yeah, zero.
Come on, Rhett.
That's what we need to do.
I've got to be an assist guy because every time there's an assist,
there's a goal.
Okay.
Back to me, Dean. Alex Ovechkin on an absolute heater.
Last night, three goals, 13 to set the record,
12 to tie Gretzky.
He also did it against the Oilers.
Brett, you want to open the fridge and crack a beer?
That's great stuff.
Getting origin going on that one.
First player in NHL history,
we record 200 plus goals in three different decades.
Also had 437 in the tens, by the way.
Can you like that?
What is that stat?
Yeah, that's.
Read it one more time.
And now everybody listen up.
Pull over.
If you're going to listen to this.
Yeah.
So, you know, like careers can be long.
Some guys even play in multiple decades.
Obie has three decades in which he has more than 200 goals.
three decades that he's played in with more than 200 goals it doesn't sound humanly possible
and 13 away and pumped for every one of them and you know what yeah it was one an empty
netter the other goals vintage i don't care any point of his career those goals look at wiring
one timers we all thought this team would be bad and it was going to be painful for the organization
to balance ovi chasing the record versus being competitive this is unbelievable
They're sorry.
They're first place in the league.
We're sorry.
We're wrong.
We'll take it back.
But guess what the bonus of that is?
There's a lot of empty nets for Washington.
So many losses they have.
You know how many times they're leading with five minutes left?
That's earned.
Missed time because of lockouts and had a broken leg this year and it hasn't slowed them down.
One game suspensions for swimming with dolphins rather than a star game.
I made fun of them.
What?
I did.
I was watching them play volleyball.
Yeah.
The training wasn't.
Hey, you know what?
Remember last year was Bouchagross.
He's like, you know, Ovi, you should probably dedicate yourself.
Get into the gym and let's, come on, let's go for this record.
Ovi knows what Ovid is.
Don't worry about me.
Yeah.
Sure thing.
Hey.
Thanks, tips.
Thanks for the, uh, the big scoop there, Boch.
Shoot the buck, Ovi.
Bad news for the Bruins.
We talked about it.
Hampus Lindholm.
See ya.
Say it right.
Hampus Lindholm.
Yeah.
Poor Hampus.
Tapos.
Yeah, not good.
They already missed Charlie McAvoy out of the Four Nations.
And so, yeah, just delete those, you know, 22 to 25 minute that night guys.
So who's that's why you're taking those minutes.
Z.
Is it our buddy?
Oh, that's why you brought him in.
You know he can move up the lineup.
Oh, yeah.
Because it's what, Carlo and.
Let's just look at.
Holyacovo?
No, no, buddy.
Brandon Carlo.
Oh.
who's that number six lot lot lozahn Jeremy lozano no no no the low rye
mason lorai yeah it feels like goosh to be honest if i had to kind of kind of look at it
it feels like it was there forever but i think he moved high level of gush as far as their blue
lines brandon carlo yeah sidorov and andrew peak oh michael callahan brandon carlo carlo
Castle, Hold on.
Parker Wetherspoon.
Yeah.
Zad dog.
I'm selling my brunstock.
Crushing it.
I think it's bad in Boston. The good news is
at least it's not Vancouver, where
the latest piece from Ian McIntyre
reporter for the, for
Sports Night covering the Canucks, had this to say.
We've talked about
he has to move his feet and can't
double clutch with the puck, said Rick
Talkett Sunday night after his main
press conference ended. I think he's waiting for
something. I don't know if it's a lack of confidence in his shop, but as soon as he has room,
he's got to take it and just got to blast it. I'd rather him rip a puck right now.
He's not moving his feet. I thought today some shifts he was moving his feet and it looked like
we had some glimpses, but six on five there at the end, it's the same thing, waiting.
If he just takes three or four strides, I don't know if it's a metal block right now,
all year, but he's got to move his feet. When Pedersen was asked whether confidence was a
fact, he said, yeah, it's more annoying dealing with the media.
Well, there's only seven years left on that contract.
takes zero responsibility.
Yeah, there's a lot there.
Yeah. Or just in general.
It's like he. It's always.
That does not sound like a coach who's asking for unrealistic things.
Move your feet.
Could just move your feet and shoot the box.
That's a coach that's being killed by one of his players that he's trying to allow to do whatever the F he needs to do to have success.
100%.
And probably not the player he wanted to keep either.
If you go tough love, that won't work either.
He doesn't care enough.
this guy
no way he'd be like
yeah pay me I don't care
11 and a half
his his shitter giver
is broke kind of feel
to
to Patterson
it's gonna take someone
some real stones to trade for that guy
just like Dubois last summer
and again it doesn't mean Dubois's fixed
but you had to have some major
balls to trade for him this summer and that was
8 million
yeah this is 1.6
but it was a guy
that the similarities are striking.
Clearly not a fit where he's at.
Clearly he and the coach,
not seeing eye to eye.
Dubois got his coach fired last year.
Clearly not getting along with teammates.
It was Miller for Pedersen.
We heard Dowdy not so cloaked speak about guys
playing for themselves versus the team last year.
We all know who that was directed at.
Similarities.
Yeah, certainly for Dubois,
he had already,
that was his third second and third stop.
He was, well, he's going to go to L.A.
And now he's going to be happy with his,
He was in Columbus.
He's always wanted to get to.
Yeah.
And it was not good.
Yeah, I mean, Carberry.
Whatever's going on in Washington?
Carbara.
Bottle that shit.
Yeah.
Talk to you, Ryan.
Thanks, Dean.
It was a special birthday on the weekend.
And everyone loves it when you're in the same room.
You can all sing together.
Yeah.
But what if that room holds like 18,000 people and you're Johnny Goddrow Jr.
This is a beautiful moment in Columbus.
Oh, beautiful kid, a year old, you know.
it's heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.
I asked if I should play that because I think you're going to try.
We should play that at the end.
Yeah.
We finally have a day for the NHL draft.
We also have games tonight.
The draft,
okay.
This is going to be weird.
Aren't they sitting at home doing?
No one's going.
Well, I think probably the kids are going to go and Gary will be there
and then it's going to start to look at the NFL draft.
It's like,
I'm making the selection for the Sabers is puck eater,
Rob,
Ray, come on up, Rob, and the GM won't be there.
It's going to be weird.
I think right if guys came up and just picked up that minute,
gave him like a spinny hug.
Wee.
Welcome to the league.
Oh, please don't pick me up again.
This is embarrassing for me.
But yeah, the teams are all staying at home, right?
Yes.
It'll be draft war rooms like you see in the NFL.
So there'll still be an event in L.A.,
but don't be surprised if this is a one-off.
There's a lot of people that weren't keen on this idea,
including Gary.
We said, we can have an event here.
We're at,
Fans come and it's a big flag, a tent pole event for the league.
And the GM said a couple of bad experiences with travel.
And now they asked for this.
It's like, eh, it wouldn't be surprised if this comes back to its normal form in a year or two.
Like this.
Stinking GMs.
I heard this is so soft.
The team's not taking PJs all like.
Yeah, it's pretty easy.
You charter a flight.
Now your scouts come from everywhere.
I get that, but still.
Fly them into your city.
Hop on the charter.
Let's get down there and bond and bullshit on the,
and leave when we need to.
Because it wasn't it last year where there was some snuffoos,
guys trying to get out.
I know the one airline in this country had a mechanics strike
that struck at about 1130 when I was at the piano bar on the strip.
That ruined my morning flight.
I think it would cost $1,200 one way to get home, though.
Because I think there was travel issues last year and then Nashville the year before.
Nashville is new.
You always want to drive through the night to Kentucky to get to Houston to get to Calgary.
Yes. Too many teams have guys stranded for weeks the last two years.
But it's stupid because it's short-sighted.
This is post-COVID, things will be better.
And to your point, charter some birds.
Let's go.
NHL, fly one plane from Europe.
Take one from Western Canada.
One from Toronto.
Let's go.
Come on.
Is that a stink guy that you just?
Wow.
We canceled the, I don't care.
I'm not going to.
I don't care either.
But it does feel like it.
It's going to, yeah.
They've done it for.
Yeah. And it's a great event. If you cover them big events in that city. And for hockey fans,
it's a great event. Trains talking and yes. And then COVID happened and we all agreed this was
the worst. You get the crotch cam and all the dads stand up and it's awful. Let's do that.
Do that again. That's great. And so the players that have to travel, they're not worried about them so
much as the scout that is used to travel.
Right.
His job is to travel for.
Hey, Jack, can we get Betman on the phone?
It just seems something.
See what I can do. A little fishy.
Games tonight, just two.
Cooked up a parlay for Bet365.
We'll get two later.
But one very intriguing matchup,
the nightcap 830, Kings,
hosting the Golden Knights. This was a great
rivalry back in the day, and
isn't a bad one now, but
a bit of a coin flip tonight.
Kings had that big charitable game we should
mentioned, by the way, to support LA firefighters.
I think Bieber and Ronek got into a fake scrap.
There's all kinds of celebrities.
It was good stuff.
So congrats to the Kings for putting that on, apparently very successful.
The other game tonight, sharks on the second half of a back-to-back into Winnipeg.
I'm sure it's, they get Chinooks in Winnipeg.
It's like plus 10 there today.
I don't know if that's the case, Ryan.
Well, you just checked that for me real quick because I know that the sharks.
I think the Kings and the Vegas social media, some of the best, too.
Yes.
At times, they've been the best.
Yeah.
I think those social media admins don't last long, but.
You know what?
Not a bad day.
It's three degrees.
What?
For a February trip.
Oh, God, that's a huge win.
Soft Californians to go into Winni.
It's as good as it gets.
It's all brainy.
Hot hands.
He'll be good tonight.
This scab mechanic kid's pretty good.
You notice that?
He's hit 100 points already.
It's 17-year-old season.
They did this on the weekend.
One-on-one.
one.
Guys.
Oh, my.
McKenna magic
connect with Hunter St.
Jess saw.
That is just so ridiculous.
All right.
Yeah,
you could have finished that,
right?
The real amazing part is,
you know what?
I would not have been able to score that.
Just one more because I'm a right shot.
So I would,
it would handcuff me.
Kind of looks back to war.
towards the blue line of the Blazers for help.
And don't look around the
beat pass of Ryan Michael.
Which would not take away from the play that
the guy. Now the refresher on McKenna,
he was a 16 year old in the league last year
in like 96 points, something crazy.
First year in the dub.
This year he's already eclipsed 100.
He's probably too good for this league.
You might go to college for here or something.
He's not even draft eligible this summer.
It's next year.
And, oh, by the way, he's on a 35 game points streak.
35
23 goals
77 points in 35 games
he's tied Bedard and Logan Stancoven's
longest point streaks in recent memory
I think the original old record was 56
way back in the day
I just go everybody's head
I didn't know where the Kevin tie in was
Gavin
it's a bit of a stretch
it's not Kevin it's Gavin it's Gavin
if it was Gavin I would have
accepted it
Kevin McKenna, but it's Gavin McKenna.
Don? Oh, it's close.
Hey, Don.
Hey, Bomber.
It's two different things.
Hey, Todd.
I thought you were into the Rob Ray.
Back to you, Ryan.
Good tilt in the American League.
Oh.
Now, Jack loves this Rector McGroity character
because he's a sassy American that didn't want to go to Winni.
That's right.
So they had to trade him to Pittsburgh.
I haven't fought before.
It's probably really.
easy and fun. This guy doesn't look so big.
All right, Rucker. Let's see you go.
The big tough Yankee.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
That was not close.
Does he know what to do?
It doesn't appear, no, he does know what to do.
He kept waiting for a chance to.
Is his helmet was on?
Oh, oh, wait, he's punching back.
It's when it goes south, Dean.
Yeah.
It's all.
Oh.
You're going to have to.
grab again, bud.
Jeez.
That was some game audio.
That's what's a record.
Rutger McGority.
Yeah.
Rutgers from Lincoln, Nebraska.
There it is.
I would figure if Braskey'd have some good, you know,
farm, farm kids or something.
Corn husker.
I think you probably should have a bar tilly or two.
Maybe after a tough corn huskers loss.
Yeah, get pitching some bales or some corn husks or whatever you do down
They're tough up, kids.
Pitch a few jobs, wouldn't have hurt either.
That's gracious.
Let's get to some dumb ass.
Dean, you were on an all-inclusive over that breakday.
Listen to it, like, that's right, Ryan, yes.
Yes, and so beautiful weather.
Let's, how fat is this guy?
No.
It's you love dogs, right?
Uh-huh, yeah.
This is the sea lion.
It's going up to the resort.
It's like a dog of the sea.
Chicken of the ocean dog of the sea this is the and so you know this is kind of cute sea lions walling up to the resort there's the pool
Because I like dogs. This is the tie you're gonna like it. It's man. You're gonna be happy
Swimbing the pool
Haute that looks nice yeah then there's Dino just sitting on his phone
Crushing candy crush
And what's this young color doing here? Ah
da da da that now boy now boy that's some nachos just got a little nap there's the serving dominance student
pretty dumb clip anyway I thought we'd start with that so we could get better as we go now I'm sure
we played this clip it's one of the greatest of all time I just need to show it again because it's
Jack and I were dying this morning it just how epic this clip is this is the old beekeeper
meme right net the old beekeeper outfit on
It's going to remove.
Clearly a pro who knows what he's doing.
Yeah, he's going to remove the beehive.
It's a ladder.
There's a lot that could go wrong, but don't worry, he's an expert.
Now, watch his hat because it's the, well, that's his protective.
That's his protective.
Oh.
Person might have died.
I don't know if that's, this is.
I mean, the only thing that didn't go around that could have is he doesn't fall off the ladder.
But they also cuts short pretty quick.
I was going to say angle.
That's so funny.
Now you had to, uh, what, oh for two?
You had to fix your.
Oh.
You had to fix your roof.
You had some roof issues.
After you got back from the all-inclusive.
So I didn't realize, A, interesting choice of roof in Calgary's climate, but B, that's how many bats are in your roofing?
That's a lot of bats.
It's cute.
I thought that the coronavirus came up on my house.
It needed good oiling.
Turns out the rafters were full of bats.
It was thousands of bats, not a squeaky fan.
No.
got a couple bull items here for you good yeah i know so mechanical bowls the western
you know developed nations we have fancy expensive mechanical bowls at bars you go to some other
places they got improvised a little more scissile he's down getting his uh stem cell shot
in his shoulders and animal we good hey he didn't make it or was that eight i was
he was eight he was he did he hop off there
didn't hear the horn though they were going to have to have the horn
sure maybe not maybe didn't get the horn because there wasn't a horn
good thing to have those jute bags or whatever
laying on the ground for yeah softening the fall
no that would be better than a real bull right because real burles could hurt you
badly and he definitely wouldn't want to get too cute with a real bowl
like you know try a backflip as he's charging you
you're too soon but if you uh
somehow some way could pull that off it would be one of the greatest
achievements in the history of athletics.
I should have just played this all day.
Holy moly.
That bull's going to be pissed off.
Jack, that is some great work on your backflip.
How did you time it up so nicely?
AI.
That's crazy.
AI, Jack.
This is what's going to happen.
Jack's going to start doing incredible things and Brett's going to give
no credit. Yeah, it's just AI.
Origin's going to sponsor that guy for the Strathmore.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
It's right.
Fly him in.
Yeah.
Fly him in.
Get on it, Sterly.
You love Florida love Florida love waiting down in the waters love swimming let's get to this here
right your Spanish is phenomenal quite impressed it's very dark water it's murky it still doesn't seem fake well
Maybe not Florida.
Maybe not right either.
A couple shoveler items to close things out.
Now, when you met the shoveler, she was living in Buffalo, but you guys traveled the world together.
Oh, yeah.
I think you stopped at one of those ecotourism places and she was doing the paddleboard stuff.
Hey, everybody.
Haley, back again.
We are now on the river, but I'm going to go off the river and see what everybody around the shop is up to.
Let's go check it out.
Oh, what's at the stage name?
Hayle.
There's a lot there.
You have a nice scrape on the leg for sure.
What about the jibs?
What about the head jibs area?
Facial contusion, unless she's got a Rob Ray.
Maybe she's got a, yeah.
Get the Ray chromosome, Ray dome.
Double thick skull.
That was, she wasn't long for paddleboarding,
but the shoveler luckily got into the backyard yoga.
Saper.
Doing the videos.
Beautiful weather.
No.
Stretches.
That's going to
be awesome.
That's the new balls.
Ah, nuts.
Yeah.
That's what that is.
I came to an end to.
So that was good.
Back in Calgary,
driving kids to hockey instead.

and did your service account for bonus entries.
Just makes good sense, people.
I like bonus entries.
Service Credit Union, the service big share contest, service.
DotCA slash win.
A million dollars.
Not just because here's what you should do because it's just,
it's kind of makes sense.
It's, you know, just, okay, well, yeah,
I'll maybe get around to it.
But if you, there's a chance you could win a million dollars if you do it.
So I'm going to have these really good strategies and get rewarded.
Now I'm picking up what you're laying down.
That's what I'd be saying to service credit union.
Good idea, guys.
Good idea.
Million bucks.
Yeah.
So Buffalo.
What about it?
We're gone?
Well, I don't know.
I would love to see George Strait and Chris Stable.
To be fair,
I was very excited about Buffalo and you kind of pooed him right out of the gate.
It kind of took the wind out of a sense.
I just are there other options?
So Foxboro, that's where you want to go?
No.
Hang of those stinking patriot lovers.
Is Boston nicer than Buffalo?
No.
Okay.
Are you a Red Sox fan?
No, he's not.
Oh.
He hates the Red Sox.
No, we're, who would we go and see in Buffalo?
The Blue Jays.
Oh.
The AAA team, yeah.
Yeah.
Or the other?
Bison.
Either way, we'll talk about it.
Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, you know, don't gas it all together.
Just because my first reaction was maybe.
Yeah, my, uh, my attendance was not going to be based on your.
Okay.
So, no, I.
Get me some tickets.
Right.
You pay for the tickets.
I'll go.
Yeah, that's a great deal.
It's a kind of guy you are.
It's a ticket to run a guy.
Yeah, real nice.
Bet 365, the world's largest sports betting platform.
Get that account open.
If you haven't already used the promo codation when you sign up, we'd appreciate that.
And then just start sniffing around.
Be irresponsible, but have some fun with it.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary.
At bet 365.
Two games tonight.
That's it.
How do you like the sharks on the second half of a back-to-back against the top team in the West?
Shocks.
Not a lot.
So I'm going to go Minnesota, excuse me, Winnipeg,
minus one and a half.
And I kind of don't know
that I don't like Vegas quite a bit more
than L.A. here and they're both minus
110 to pick them essentially.
I'll take the knights to win on the road
and the Jets to win at home against a
inferior and tired sharks club.
There you go. Parley.
I think it's around 1 9 plus 196.
I was going to say. Maybe parley, that's
that son of a gun right there.
It's a 3 to 1.
I feel if you play it right here.
Sure.
What'd you make a celebrini last night?
Pretty good, hey?
And like, to me, he has to be on the Olympic team next year,
almost even more so than Bedard in a weird way.
He's just, he wins puck battles.
A guy that's 18 shouldn't be looking like a man.
Like, he doesn't look like an 18 year old.
Physically, baby face, but the way he plays.
Yeah, I don't care if he plays on the Olympic team right now,
but he looks like good player.
Yeah.
He's just a lock for me.
Yeah, like he's that good already.
It's wild, that 18 to be that good.
everything runs through him on the power play like it's just
Celebrity's the man everyone already knows it just give it to him
he'll make their decisions.
It'll be something if it's not about that but if we look back
all the hype around Bedard and I we knew
Celebrini was going to be the number one guy but it was
certainly nowhere near the much more muted.
Yeah but Bard was closer to home and Celebrini was playing
college hockey you know what I mean like I know what you're saying
but there there's there are other circumstances I mean there are
Bardard was selling out Western hockey.
He sold up the Saddle Dome as a junior player.
Right?
Like so.
And again, the book is certainly not closed on Bardard.
It's just he's no one to play with.
Like if Badard had it to Foley to play with,
he'd be having a much better year.
Like Philip Kirschev and him is not worked.
Taylor Hall is so past his prime.
Nick Folino is not a top six four.
Like they literally are using Ryan Donato on his line now.
That is a guy that plays almost exclusively on fourth lines on bad teams for
the last decade.
He's no one.
I don't know what you can get at.
I mean, Chicago, go on now.
Should I call soup?
Trade them.
Let's go get Rantanin.
We'll do a little bit of
obviously.
That's what we do.
We have got the super chat.
It is in the YouTube chat.
If you're there and you spend a little bit of money,
we take that money and pass it along to the youth centers of Calgary.
And then your message we show on the show.
Rattenon and Marner?
There's all.
handsome Dan. He's in 100 bucks.
His kind of thing is every wolf win this year.
I'm coming through. I'm doing it. Chat.
I know Boomer puts on a tough front,
but he DM'd me and let me know his secret.
He loves being hugged.
So if you see him at an event, go for it.
He tenses a little at first.
That's true.
But it's because he believes he doesn't deserve the love.
But you know what, boomcat, you do.
That's a great, great super chat.
handsome dan god bless you crushed it where did that like crushed i deserve that oh like you're saying
you deserve the hug i here i said i read it yep
now handsome dan what's gonna happen when wolfie hangs a zero at some point here i don't

generous dan's vacation rentals i'm not sure why he's decided just this that's boomer

They've got a great French restaurant out there.
Really?
Shea bow wow.
That's not a restaurant.
Yeah, but they got a buffet.
That's right.
Yeah, yeah.
So we'll have some game prep,
getting you ready for that matchup.
Oh, yeah.
Going to dig in deep to the numbers and the trends.
Some former flames are going to absolutely ruin the flames night.
I'm looking at you, Andrew Manjpani.
Anytime goal.
Make fun of somebody else.
They'll score.
We'll do our thing on a game day.
So that's tomorrow.
It was the little guy that went there that we thought we shouldn't get rid of.
Phillips.
He's playing in Colorado's affiliate.
And I imagine is set to make some very big money in Switzerland next year.
Yes.
Maybe he's smart because making $200 in the American League not smart.
Enjoy your shorts.
Embrace the weather.
Yeah.
Get ready for that game tomorrow.
It's going to be a dandy.
I'm going to hit the grill today.
Are you grilling?
Chicken.
grilling in shorts this guy's already in summer mode kidding me chicken grill and everything
why not why not it's don't clash what do i usually play at the end of the show it's usually a thing
