Oh, hi, welcome.
It's, it's Barnburner here on a,
on a Thursday.
The day after,
biggest game of the year.
Must win.
The day after,
biggest game of the season 1.0.
Yeah.
Not sure if the flames got the memo.
Maybe they did.
We're not sure.
We'll get into it.
We'll lay some blame.
Kind of had them where they wanted them, didn't they,
Dan?
So Jack,
I was a presentation.
This show is a presentation.
of Bet365, whatever the moment it's
never ordinary at Bet365, must be
19 or older, please play responsibly
and, of course,
show, if you are in the comments and you put some money
down, we are going to take that donation and
pass it along to the youth centers of Calgary
where they're going to help make a difference with today's youth.
And then we'll show your comment on the show.
That was a freebie. Oh, here's another one.
Oh, geez, 100% blame Jack.
Lull. So what's Tara getting it? What are we
there's no lulls about it, Dean.
No lulls?
Biggest game of the air.
Someone had to screw it up.
Right at the end.
Right at the end of somebody else didn't screw it up.
Cabalamo.
Right.
So,
So, Jack,
I mean, I,
I say,
I can't do the show and listen to it for people.
What are we talking about?
Why are people blaming you today?
Well,
I believe we were doing our bets.
and Ryan was dancing around the idea of betting a wolf shutout.
And then I just flat out said I was going to bet it.
And did you say the word.
I did say the word, yes.
Did you mean shootout?
Maybe I did me, yeah.
I mean, that would have made sense.
You were doing after.
Yeah, that's right.
I was doing out.
You had to know, you had to know.
Jeez.
We were going to have a little extra time.
4.3 in a shootout.
The Canucks beat the flames last night as we get into it here.
The over.
The over, yeah.
I was, I was, I couldn't remember if we had talked, because we had talked about it.
We're going to, if it's C-Lovs, maybe take the over, but then it ended up being Lankanen.
But, Rhett, your thoughts, just general thoughts on this matchup from last night, start to finish,
because there's a little bit of everything in there.
I think if you're up with under 10 to playing the third, you got to win that game.
Yep.
That's what I think.
They had it right where they want.
that fellas, their goalie was playing great.
They had a lead in the third.
I didn't like the parading to the penalty box.
The Canucks got most of their work done on the man advantage
and they weren't necessary penalties.
Like the Zeri one's unnecessary,
which we'll talk about more later.
The Longberg one's unnecessary.
The Pahal one where they ended up scoring a short-handed goal,
but still it was just kind of a dumb.
Unnecessary.
Yeah.
And that gave the Canucks life.
And Elias Pederson,
who's done not very much for the last couple months.
You give him extra time and space.
Quinn Hughes out there.
Hughes is good.
That was, that kept him in the game.
What's that, retro?
Hughes is quite good.
He's so good.
Yeah.
He does have impact on a game.
Yeah.
If that fella could stay a little healthier this year,
he's probably a finalist for the Norris.
Like, he's that good.
And heart, potentially.
Yeah.
He's just, he, in his first game back,
I don't know if you guys noticed,
the first game, because he's been in.
injured, right? Off to injure. So you kind of want to ease them in.
Since before the four nations. Yeah. 29 minutes, 48 seconds.
Oh. We. He's been coming back and getting hurt again, coming back and get hurt again. Like,
the guy's not a hundred here. No. And still by all that, all that extra game time.
Still electrifying and not 100%. I'll say this. He'll be a good devil. I like it's going to be,
he's going to fit right in there.
They've done a good job with the cap.
He's going to play with his brothers.
And they'll be rocking at the Prudential Center.
Dean, I'd ask you, but you don't have any.
Do you like your brother that much that you'd want to play on the same team?
Like you've got a brother, Brian?
I'd like to play with him.
I think he's done with me because I was the one that administered beatings.
Exactly.
Like it's like, imagine if that was the thing.
People would start hating Pinder's brother.
It's like, it's easier now because you're here.
You're such an asshole.
Son of a.
Life was so good before.
Bob, Brian got here.
Yeah.
For Vancouver, first win this season when trailing after two periods.
So coming back is not their, uh, their calling card.
Weird.
You know, we watch Wolf and he's, I mean, he's so good.
The, uh, it's offered the first goal goes off of a skate and in and then one's a
tip out of a crazy.
0.01% chance of a deflection.
I don't know that Debrus even really saw the shot.
It looked like it maybe hit a stick and then went in.
And then, you know, Blocker, because I watched it all.
Did this hit ball in the in the butt or well, but it was a rebound.
It went right to Elias Patterson.
Yawning.
There's ball going.
Where? What's that?
Warner Whiteboard ready?
Wow.
Do we have the clip?
Well, we can.
So this is the third.
connect school.
Yeah.
If that helps,
but I wasn't able to replay it because I'm not at home with my tape recorder.
Right.
Well,
here's the tape recorder.
We pressed rewind.
Thank you.
So there's Pedersen in the corner and Hubert,
oh,
just kind of, now remember,
this isn't a power play.
Oh,
but that's my,
just,
he'll sort of,
plays them soft and they're,
they're up and they're trying not to get caught.
Slow Jack,
just pause it.
Go hit them.
No danger.
And that's your guy.
Everyone's fine.
He swings up towards a defenseman.
I need a laser pointer.
Wouldn't probably work, would it?
If I had a laser pointer,
in this,
so where do you want to draw our attention?
Well,
I'm just saying Hubert,
isn't that Hubert O in the corner?
It's Hubert O who is,
it's swinging.
Looks like he has as much a chance
at that puck as Petterson does at this point.
Just go take Pedersen.
Just go take him.
That's your guy.
Now you,
that's your guy and it's not like petter if peterson pushes it to the point to mancini okay then yeah
you're no curling up still hot he's got him covered that's fine still not your guy you've finished
cuttersson got the way the defenseman it probably should be the winger at the point but they've
swapped that's fine now codder comes back and now he were those guys wide open well i just and ball
has to recognize i see it from a defenseman right ball is not eliminated
anyone there's coverage on the other side of the ice and there's two guys coming out of the
corner you don't need to get to the front of the net you need to hold your side and eliminate like
it's a bad rebound goes right on his tape but ball didn't need to vacate where was he going if anything
he's right like what are you trying to wolf are yeah are you trying to tip that in are you trying to
tip it like you mentioned the shot dino is that clean in on wolf or does that think it is clean
because that's a weird rebound for Wolf.
It bounces sideways here.
Right.
And I was going to say, that's where we are with Wolf that, oh, boy, that's, that's, that's a rebound.
He's so good at controlling them.
Again, I don't, there's not, there's not a clean angle.
I still wonder if it does go off of something because there's plenty in front there.
It's like it's got it.
But to your point, that's, that's irrelevant.
It's the rest of the coverage.
It's the problem.
Because if you've got the coverage, you don't have the panic in front of the net.
Like,
here's the thing too,
though,
sorry to jump on you.
So that's at 645 left or whatever it is.
At one point,
shots were 16 to 1 for the Canucks in the third.
I get protecting a lead.
But the Canucks,
it's their second in two nights.
They're on the road.
There was just,
I'd prefer,
give me some killer instinct for the flames.
Yeah.
Go get this done.
Why are they getting out shot 16 to 1
and sitting back?
when it just felt like the whole game,
if they really want to get on the forecheck and get after these guys,
because Hughes isn't right, Myers is out,
lecker amack for whatever he's worth,
like they're beat up on the back end or young and inexperienced.
Get on these guys for some turnovers,
but they just didn't.
It was a lot of that curling off and just kind of safe, safe as we do.
And maybe I guess if you don't think you're going to score many goals
and you have a lead, you do everything you can to protect it.
But it just didn't feel like there was enough,
killer instinct.
Go and beat them as opposed to hang on and try and win it.
How many times when we come in and said, like,
you couldn't get the fourth goal because we're saying that again.
Yeah, you go get the fourth goal.
You win.
Yeah.
And here it almost felt like they weren't even,
they knew they weren't going to get it.
So how are we going to win by defending?
Right.
One other observation is on that last goal.
those are your veteran guys up front that are supposed to, right?
Like, yeah.
You don't have kids and guys that aren't used to play it.
And they should be more capable.
I would think that that's,
you probably don't have to show the clip in the room.
Because those guys should know that was soft and not very good.
I think it was Hubert O post game that said,
hey, like one point's fine,
but we got to be getting two against those guys.
Like, they know that's a missed opportunity.
You had a lead in the later stages of the game.
in your biggest game of the year
with a chance to go three up on the Canucks
with a game in hand.
Now you're tied.
That's a big swing.
And it doesn't torpedo the season, right?
It's just, it was really,
you've been playing well.
You had the chance to definitely win that game.
So there you see it.
71 points.
Still a game in hand.
Kent was on with me last night on Afterburner
and he kind of made the observation that we're really
kind of still back to where it's,
and you saw it was,
Cadry gets a goal and an assist.
Hubert or who you were twice.
Weager 2 assists.
And then it's just a cliff.
There's just nothing.
I didn't think Frost was very good.
You lose backland.
So that loses things,
you know,
shuffles things up a little bit.
But I don't think anyone was particularly dangerous.
There's no elevators.
And I don't mean in the hotel.
Yeah.
No one can elevate their game again.
Like I'm just looking here at the shots,
23 shots.
Okay, well, seven went to Cadry.
Geez.
Four to Hubert O.
How many for Coronado?
Because that's all one line.
One.
Okay.
So that's 11 of your 23 shots from one line.
You got to do better than that.
Zary, Weiger, Lombard, pospousal, Farabit,
zero shots, Coleman, zero shots.
Frost didn't get a shot.
So how many shots in a third in total?
Do you have that?
17 to 4.
Let's go, boys.
20 miles.
It's ice this thing.
Four shots.
And then zero shots in overtime.
Overtime was just hanging on for dear life.
The Canucks just kept possession.
They've got to make a rule.
And this isn't a last night's game thing.
Like you've got to just,
it's really simple.
You make an over and back.
If you take the puck out of the zone,
blow it dead offside.
Like easy tweak.
Because it's just,
the strategy is key.
It's clear.
You keep possession.
You reload.
You exhaust it.
defenders and then when they break down, you go and finally take a chance rather than just
work the possession around. They've got to do something about that. Yeah. But good on the
Canucks. Everyone can do that. They got the puck and they did it. The flames didn't. They,
surrendered it pretty quick when they had chances in overtime. Now, we've had Ryan Pike, of course,
he's a writer, right? He's one of our guys with Flames Nation.flames Nation.com is the website.
He's a wrench. Yeah. He's, yes, he is. I think it means he's very versatile. He's,
He's got lots in the toolbox.
He's got all kinds of things.
We've talked about whether it's a pike bomb or not.
Is this a pike bomb this morning?
Pike bomb, pike bomb.
It's a pike bomb.
Good enough.
Per the league, Flames, Connor Zeri will have a hearing for his hit on Canucks D.
Elias?
That's right.
Is that, I'm doing that one right?
Elias A. Pedersen, not forward Elias Pedersen.
Elias.
This is Elias Pedersen.
Sure.
Anyway, Zeri's got a hearing for his hit.
And we know that Backland, which we've not talked about,
he left in the first period, didn't come back the rest of the night on the evening.
Two minutes, 58 seconds worth of ice time.
Zeri jumped right into that Backland line spot with Fairby and Coleman for the rest of the night.
And it was kind of a, it spot the, I guess the Roonies and Lomburg's in here and there.
but you're now looking at a spot where you have three NHL centers
and one of them's Kevin Rooney.
Who had an assist?
And again, like he had a rough goal for a month or two around Christmas there,
but it's been better.
That line, I haven't minded in recent days.
But again, it's Kevin Rooney.
Like you're really hoping he's your fifth best center.
Yeah, he's become a bit of a whipping boy, right?
There's a lot of things this team can improve on.
He's not, it's not like it's a star that isn't living up to potential.
he's a fourth or fifth center.
But now it's Cadre first line.
What do you do on your second line?
Because Zeri was the plug there.
And I don't mind Zari at center.
But he's now potentially gone.
If he's getting a hearing, it feels like he's going to get something.
They're going to get something.
And so now you're looking at the farm and you're like,
shit, is it Dryden Hunt time?
Is it Rory Karen's time?
Because you're thin down the middle.
You were before the frost trade.
And this is why the season has been.
been so precariously close to being really, really bad because all it would take was an injury
to one of your top two centers. And it's like, shit, we got no depth there.
Kind of amazing. We're 64 in. And not to say the quadry isn't durable or whatever, but that
you've come this far and you really haven't dealt with that. We saw the ball injury and what kind
of peril that threw the D into. Yeah, this has. Yeah, totally. This is even, do you move,
like I said to Kent last night, you can move Sharon Govich, because he's not doing anything
on the wing. You're not sacrificing any scoring if you want to just.
bump him over.
Right.
If you want to,
you've got Klapka around, right?
He can step into that 40.
So you can put him in that bottom side right way.
Anyway,
so why are we talking about Zeri potentially facing discipline?
Here's the hit.
Now,
Elias Pedersen,
the defenseman lays a body check on Nazim Kodry.
You can see it at the top of the top of the screen there.
So the hit has just been made and Zeri takes exception.
Clean but heavy.
The hit, and then this is not clean.
And again, is it,
you're not going to see that five years from now.
This is not Bertuzi on Steve Moore,
but it's deliberate, and it's a forearm or elbow
to the neck ear head area.
It's totally unnecessary.
And further to it is Pedersen leaves the hockey game
and doesn't come back.
So that'll be the bigger part of it,
probably because right I agree yeah it's just look he's vulnerable you're coming from the blind
side wow and if you don't like the hit you don't have to drill him in the
totally and so if you want to go get him go bump into him and throw hands a bit or put cross check
you can't what if you give one of these on the on the wrists right well right out right here
hey you right there yeah yep because what's that right there is that is that a sweet spot right
there that's a sweet it can what happens right in there it hurts
It bruise as well.
You get a nice bruise in there.
Yeah.
So we'll see.
They play tomorrow.
They'll have to know before then.
Maybe it's today.
Maybe it's a fine.
But it feels like it might be a game at least.
They don't like headshots in the league anymore.
It's true.
They've learned a lot about brains and headshots aren't good for them.
Brains.
Yeah.
Brains.
I think we could make a segment.
brain.
Brain.
That's right.
If only we had some explosion sound effects or something like that.
Well,
and then to make matters worse,
it's not Anaheim rolling in tomorrow.
It's the high octane Colorado avalanche,
and you're going to have to play against McKinnon,
Nelson,
Zaka,
no,
coil,
excuse me,
not Zaka.
Backland being out,
which is the one that's going to hurt him more than Zari in that situation.
Like,
you're relying on Backlands to
play a lot of minutes against.
McKinnon try to hold them to one point boys right yeah yeah there's what's happening so one more
on the homestand it's the avalanche tomorrow and then road Toronto the New York Rangers the
Devils and the Islanders they'll probably just base camp in Manhattan I think right for that
what do we call in this the brother range is the devils for sure big smoke big apple the big road
trip you just Toronto and New York state of mind
I would call it back east because we were just out east.
Yeah, we were just here.
We're just in Philadelphia like nine days ago.
And it's the last four games against Eastern foes the whole year.
And there's some good ones in there.
The Rangers are fighting for a playoff spot.
They have not lived up to expectation,
but have come back from that miserable fall.
Leafs are very good fighting for first in their division.
Devils are trying to hang on without Hughes and Hamilton.
Yeah.
Yeah, what's the Hamilton?
Is that come out this morning?
He done for the year, right?
That's the year, probably the playoffs.
Yeah.
That's a blow.
That was the same as last year, wasn't it?
It's been a lot of years.
He's been hurt, Carolina, too.
Oh, I don't know. He missed serious time there.
Anywho, speaking of Toronto and speaking of, you know, Monday, get ready.
Barn Burner Live coming to California.
Cowboys Casino.
Oh, Mama.
Not only is it a Flames game day.
It's also St. Patrick's Day.
And, yeah, it's a celebrate.
That's enough for us.
So get your green on and come on out.
We're getting after it.
Barnburner Live going to go from Casino at the,
the Cowboys Casino.
It's the legendary.
The old legendary sports lounge there.
You see it.
They get a nice little setup there.
They do.
They get those comfy chairs, all the screens.
It's right by all the tables.
They get the bar in the middle, the island bar in the middle.
So we're going to push start time back.
to 3.30-ish. That's how we roll.
3.30-ish, right? And then take you right up to puck drop.
And then we're already there. Yeah.
May as well hang out, watch the game with us.
The legendary sports lounge.
What else do you need?
It's going to be a very festive kind of a feel.
See, there's Clover, the four, what is it four leaf?
Just three. Anyway, there's some stuff going on there.
This special edition of Barnburn Live is presented by Fountain Tire.
1956, the first location opened in Wayne Wright, Alberta.
Did you know that?
Wainwright, Wainwright, Alberta.
From one double bay garage, it's spread across Alberta, the prairies,
and now there are over 165 Fountain Tire locations across Canada.
Fountain Tire, we're on this road together,
and they are representing sponsor of our Barn Burner Live coming up on Monday at Cowboys Casino.
Looking forward to that one.
Who's the pride of Wainwright, Rhett?
You got any idea.
There's got to be a couple famous people, aside from the Fountain Tire, guys.
Bill Fountain was his name.
Really?
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Shot the convoy video out there, Wayne Wright.
Did you?
They got a heck of a train bridge out there, it looks like.
They do.
Yeah.
Great bridge.
We got a great big convoy rocking through the night.
See, a beautiful sign.
Convoy.
C.W. McCall, was that the original?
I believe so.
So, Dean.
Believe so, believe so.
Uh,
Glenn Sather.
Uh,
Glenn Sather from way.
Oh,
my.
You're such an oil loose honk.
I love him.
You really do.
I can't get enough.
Just talking about them nonstop.
So if Hughes is back and if Elias Pedersen is now feeling a little bit better,
that's three.
Three and four.
Three and four now for him.
He looked better last night.
Like, you know, that's, he was around it.
And yeah, it wasn't dominance, but especially on the power play, time and space,
him and Quinn Hughes, you're like, that's dangerous.
And I guess I'm just going to play.
For a team that can't score having Quinn Hughes and if Patterson is playing better on
the power play, that might be enough.
Well, and more to just the whole, like, how do you find a young center?
Like, I don't know that you could give this guy away, but if he strings together 15, 20 games like that,
you can, you can make a move.
A point and it just kind of went, boom.
Sorry.
It's all right.
It happens.
It happens.
Do we have backflip clip?
Like do we,
well,
let's see.
No,
they did show it on the broadcast.
It's really nothing.
I feel like he's been kind of nursing stuff,
something for the good part,
good chunk of the season.
Went into the corner.
He just kind of got twisted off of a,
off of a check in the corner.
Could be a shoulder.
Could be.
hot ribs.
Give me those ribs.
Give me those ribs.
Anyway, yeah, and Kent talked about it last, last night that maybe you miss,
already you saw what it looks like without Backland when you're in the late state,
when you're in that third period trying to protect the lead.
And now granted, you did have the guys that you'd want in that spot when the Pedersen
goal goes in.
Anyway, it doesn't torpedo, you know, like said, didn't torpedo the season.
You take a point.
you move on. It's points in five straight for whatever that's worth,
2.0 and 3. I'd not, but it's backlin's back. But if he's out for a while,
it ain't going to help. It might not torpedo, but it's sure going to make things more difficult.
Pinder just talked about and he's railed about it before. They don't have center.
Yeah. And if Zeri's gone, like I don't know how long. It doesn't look like it's a huge thing,
but maybe it's a game or two. Yeah. I'm not worried. And Siri hasn't played center since
prior to that injury against Anaheim
when our on-site doctor diagnosed
the knee injury.
Like, so you're asking Zary
to jump in like Jan 7
was the last time he played center.
And he's only played center for probably,
what, 30 to 40 games in his life
at the NHL level.
Even if he's back, like,
I liked him at center.
But it's a completely different game.
The Backelan plays too.
So it's fine.
Totally.
He can come in and he might be all right.
but it's a different game.
It's a different role.
You know where the spotlight now goes is it's okay, Morgan Frost.
We can see you can stick handle in a phone booth.
We know you got the handles and, you know, like, boy, throw them in the skills competition.
You can do everything.
But you have to start getting some five on five production results impact.
And I'm not here to say don't make that trade because I still think absolutely make that trade.
But it's time to do stuff.
Well, imagine if he wasn't he wasn't.
I was just going to say.
With all the war, potentially warts to his game,
whatever you may or may not like about him.
If he's not here,
no, it's.
Rooney, second line center?
Death. Yeah.
And so it's not a boo,
Morgan Frost.
It's here's your time.
You know, it didn't work with torts,
fresh start.
You are a center.
We need to lean on your first.
It's clear you're not a fan.
What's that?
It's clear you're not a fan.
No, no.
I'm, I mean, listen.
But if you listen to yourself,
you can roll the tape.
back. It's clear you're not, there's not a lot of faith. I just said there's a spotlight on now.
Like, this is your chance. Like, if you want to stick in a phone booth, put him in the skills
competition. Like you're hearing the words you're saying, right? Like you are, you're taking shots at it,
which is fine. What's the shot I'm taking? Like, what is he not doing? Ryan, no, no, because you're
right. I'm not like, like, I want to see more from him. I think that's a fair request. I don't think
anyone's watched and said he's been as good as you could hope. He hasn't been. So now is the, your chance
to say, I'm not a number three center.
I'm a top two center. If you want to make that statement,
it's a great time to do it.
Yeah, it is a great time to do it. I just don't know
that Backland being out is the
spotlight that he needs. He should be contributing
anyway, Backland in or not. The idea
of bringing him in was
to add the depth of
inability so that we
weren't weak. Now we lose back.
Backland, we're kind of back to it.
And he, Frost has been
just barely average. He's not
noticeable enough. Really like a more powerful.
place he's helped his own entries but
it's not even
it would be nice for him to do it because of course it would be
the team needs him now that's what it is
yes you need it and
the trouble is
Morgan Fraud there's probably a lot of
very capable centers you could put in
here right now they're still going to have
their friggin hands full trying to get some offense
with the guys around to play that against McKinnon's line
I don't know you want to go cadre right
yeah hey Zeri who are who
whatever you're going to move you to center tonight it's Nate McKinnon.
Yeah.
So you may have heard of them.
Yeah.
Fast.
You're going to have to really move your feet to keep up.
Just an insider tip there.
Jeez.
But it is it's just it's a broken record and it does get it.
It's got to be discouraging, I would think, for the guys in the room because they're part of it for the coach to look down the bench when you're, okay, we need a goal.
Where is it coming?
How are where, how?
Yeah.
Rasmus Anderson.
still the second shooter in the shootout?
We can throw that out the window, right?
Like, are we done?
Because he scored one.
He had a good thing three years ago with the one move where he waited,
and he hasn't scored in the shootout since, I swear.
Igor, I've loved in the shootout, but he's not right.
That almost worked.
I don't mind Frost there.
He's going to get a target on his back called Yeager.
Sharkey.
Need him now, too.
You're right.
He will slide it in the middle, I bet.
Frost and Igor.
Welcome to it, fellas.
You're making the money.
Yeah. Oh, we got the shootout.
I mean, no, I'm taking runs at Anderson, I guess.
I don't know.
That's a run at the coach, to be honest.
Yeah.
This is the look at the frost shootout.
If it goes in, you don't critique it.
No.
But for Lankan,
Rasmus tries to slide under his belly there because he's got him spread out,
but there gets to the ice before that goes in.
And then Hubertoe with the weight and the goal.
He's been good in this shootout since year one.
Now, remember, two years ago, we had Nick Ritchie in this fucking thing.
So, like, we can't critique it too hard.
Remember that?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, that got brought up yesterday, too.
Did it?
That's amazing.
Nick looked good.
Big Nick.
Big Nick look good, eh?
Yeah, it looks so good.
He's in Finland the next year.
Cut by an SM-Liga team.
Oh, boys.
Hearing Loss Clinic.
We're going to do our, do we have our safe way?
get her because i got some great picks this week i can't wait to get into it i downloaded the app i'm
i'm in i'm in i need some scene points i need to get to a 2025 uh season opener i'll go to calgary
maybe for that one no you got to get moving what do stuff you don't do stuff you say hearing loss
clinic locally owned and operated it started with one little just one it's kind of like fountain tire
just started with one little location and then grew and build and all of a sudden
some of the best in the world, literally,
at deciphering and working with your hearing and your ears
and everything that goes on in there.
Because you may not realize it.
It's all tied into that guy up there.
Brains.
Brains, if your brains,
and you don't know what you're doing it,
but if your brain, it's like,
oh, I got to spend some time here because I can't hear
and I'm not hearing everything,
so I got a better good intent.
But all of a sudden, what about what it's supposed to be doing?
There's a lot of things.
A lot of illnesses, health risks like dementia, depression,
have been linked to untreated hearing loss.
In addition to that, custom ear protection, musician molds, in-ear monitors,
there's a location near you.
In Calgary, there's five.
In BC, there's five.
Hearingloss.ca, helping you hear better is simply their way of helping you live better.
Book an assessment today.
Hearingloss.ca.
There may be just a little bit.
little intel yesterday might have some giveaways coming up from the hearing loss clinic oh they're
good at those they always have really good stuff yeah if you like stuff we might have some stuff to give away
from the hearing last year they had one they're like go to this restaurant for dinner take this jersey go to
the game like that's unbelievable that's dazen okay so what are we talking about picks today's thursday
so it's the start of a new week went into the app this morning oh there it is a full week of games now you need
five that's it all week you need five
If you start today, it's your best option in terms of number of games.
Sure.
Because you could start tomorrow, but you're going to lose the Thursday night games.
You could start Saturday, but then you've lost Thursday and Friday night games.
The full week of the slate of games is going to be on there.
And you can just click on each day and you pick five.
The winners of five matchups, each correct pick gets you an entry into the grand prize draw.
You can win scene points, earn bonus entries.
What are we talking about?
It's getting the Safeway app and doing my and a,
HL picks. Grand Prize, a trip for four to the 20 to a 20, 2025 season opener,
NHL season opener of your choice.
You like home teams, Dean, eh?
Hey, there's no, there's no extra points or less points.
Here's my five.
Edmonton at home to the Islanders.
They are no good, the old Islanders.
Oilers are right.
I know we don't like it.
I'm going to take the Oilers at home.
It's Buffalo in Vegas.
Eichel Knight.
Washington home to the show.
sharks, the Flyers netminders in Carolina against the canes who have weathered all this kind of
storm, I think pretty well, storm hurricane sea.
Thank you.
And the Islanders one more time, they're in Florida to take on the Panthers.
They're going to be all sunburnt and still tipsy from getting into those umbrella drinks.
So give me, those are my five.
I feel great.
Feel great about it.
Just one question.
Yeah.
The Islanders are in Edmonton?
That's what I mean.
And then.
That's Friday the 14th and then they're in Florida on Sunday.
And then they'll host the flames later next week.
They're moving around.
That's some travel right there.
Yeah.
I'll look at because I didn't know we'd get into the Islanders road schedule here.
I was unprepared for that.
But that's what I'm going with.
Okay, I got mine too.
If you want to.
All right.
Hit it.
Those love the lightning against, uh,
Flyers. Torts is just seething at his
goaltenders. Hagle and company going to make them look bad.
Avs tomorrow. I hate to do it, friends, but
it's Nathan McKinnon against
who? Washington against San Jose. I like that. A lot
for the caps. Jets against the
Cracken and the Lightning against the Flyers.
Again, I got two of those. How about that?
Home and home. Okay, so you're right, Rhett.
It's not a home game. It's just they have, they've taken
the picks and put them on the right side.
And I didn't care. I just noticed the
schedule. I'm like from Edmont.
if they don't play the flames in Alberta
and they can fly all the way back before.
Oilers at UBS Arena Friday, March 14th.
I'm still going to take the Oilers.
Yeah, me too.
Yeah.
And then it's a home game against the Panthers,
oddly enough.
And I'm still going to take the Panthers.
Not a big one.
There's family.
Chot-cha?
No, guess not.
Guess not.
So that's how it works.
And like Ryan,
a couple weeks ago, weren't you?
Like, you were one of the best?
Like you got all the bunch of,
It's week one.
It's new contests.
Get in there.
Lots of scene points to be won.
Before this gets real popular, let's go.
Fet and shovelers sleeping in.
So I'd like her to contribute a little more.
That's the thing.
But if you get in on Saturday or Sunday or Monday,
you're still in.
You still got a chance.
It's just the number of games you get to pick.
Dwindled.
Safeway.
My NHL picks.
Get the Safeway App start playing today.
Where are you right now?
Are you?
Peach?
Peaches?
We were there in September we invited you.
You didn't want to come, Red.
Yeah, no, you're there.
Because you guys were there.
Yeah.
And now we're not there.
Great spot to be.
It's great spot to be.
Although I think you guys had better weather.
We were on a patio doing the show.
You would have been very hot.
Yeah, why aren't you down by the water?
Well, there was a bit of a slushy, snowy drizzle this morning.
Snow out there.
Skiff?
I don't know if you called snow, but it's sure.
is wet white. Yeah.
It was a freezing rain here.
I had to go, uh,
I had to go move vehicles, uh, out of the driveway and that.
Oh, the whole windshield.
Oh, this is very dangerous.
Very dangerous. Yeah. Yeah. That's what we're dealing with here.
Yeah. Let's get into the Pinder report.
The one million dollar buy in event is back. Oh, if you're looking to,
maybe you want to get a vehicle. Yeah, this, I haven't really thought about it.
But if village Honda, if they're doing these appraisals, complimentary
appraisals and payment within 24 hours.
Maybe I'm not going to trade it in or try and sell up.
Maybe this may be the easiest thing for me to do in the end.
It just might be.
Even if you don't buy theirs, they want to buy your pre-owned vehicle.
If you've got a lease to return to another dealership, you're planning to trade things in.
Let Village Honda appraise your vehicle first.
Complementary payment within 24 hours.
You can begin the process online at VillageHonda.com.
And for some reason, they present.
And the Pinder Report.
We don't know why, but they do.
Don't know.
So much, I mean, solid judgment, quality humans, but yet.
Pinder Report.
It's go to Flamesnation.com.
And so people are saying what the writers are writing.
Yeah, there's the old third period blown lead from last night.
And then there's the, well, Conner Zeri be suspended.
On and on.
She goes.
It was a tough one last night, fellas.
And it might be getting worse.
We alluded to it earlier.
Zeri potentially facing suspension.
Backland status very much up in the air.
After leaving the game, after what you said,
258 of ice time.
Yeah, not much.
Short night.
And they will wrap their three game homestand against Colorado
with a mark of 101 so far.
On the road, that was great.
500. Way to go against that group of teams of the
Huska's nightmare.
500 is wonderful.
That's right.
I've had it at home a little different.
And Colorado, their latest and the greatest of opponents on the homestand.
Big one tomorrow for Cheryl.
Solid team they got to go up against there.
Yeah.
The Avals?
The Avalanche you're talking about?
Okay.
Kilbekar's at home, so maybe he's fat and sassy, or maybe he's put on a show for Conroy to say,
bring me back in free agency in two years.
We'll see.
they lost in overtime their last game, you know,
so they're on a bit of a skid one game.
Standings look like this.
Flames tied,
but holding the final wildcard with their game in hand.
Look how valuable it is, guys.
Look around them.
65.
How many did you play?
65.
You?
64.
Oh, man, that game in hand is going to get us.
Who are they playing?
Colorado.
Okay, never mind.
Okay.
Vancouver, by the way, is in Chicago on Saturday.
next action.
Keep moving.
We'll do it.
Schedule.
We showed you the
back east.
Back east.
Least Rangers, Devil's Islanders.
Not an easy stretch.
And we did have a little bit of a pike bomb yesterday about that Monday night
game.
We told you to come join us at Cowboys Casino for our pregame
edition of Barnburner at 3.30.
And look at that.
The Leafs are getting their green gear rolling.
That's not Dallas.
No.
that's the Toronto St. Pat's who they'll be playing
so you can expect the flame home reds on the road.
What a time to be alive.
How about it?
Out east, there's Toronto.
What are they fighting for?
They got a game in hand on Florida.
And they're two back of top spot in the Atlantic.
You want to get out of that two, three, in the Atlantic, I'd suggest.
That's not where you want to be.
You'd rather probably play Columbus or Montreal or a wildcard team of some sort.
Or we could even get least senators.
Please, please, please.
That'd be good.
Oh, it'd be so good.
Oh.
Other teams, we told you about that road trip, the Rangers,
they're two points out.
I don't know.
It's been a weird year there, very weird.
It's weird.
It's weird.
It's weird. Devils hanging on, trying to hang on.
They're seven clear of the cutoff.
Still good, but missing two of their best in Hamilton and Hughes.
And the Islanders nowhere to be seen on that list.
So, you know, not going well for them necessarily.
come on pat roy pick it up they're in my safeway picks yeah the lot of islanders picks in there
the uh the boys that in the dome had this discussion and uh i think uh it you know everything that's
gone on this year ups and downs hot streaks losing skits are they in are they out
they summed up nicely we want to fuck stanley cup we haven't won shit here for years and it's just
you just want to win and you just want to make sure that they don't fuck this up
again for the 450th season in a row.
That's all that you want if you're a flame fan.
And just most people are totally fucking sick of being mid.
We're just sick of it.
And we don't want to be mid.
And, you know, that's really it.
We just want to win a Stanley Cup.
I don't even want to win a Stanley Cup, dude.
How about two play?
How about two back-to-back years like in the playoffs where we're like in it?
How about that?
That'd be cool.
That would be awesome.
When was the last time the flame were in the playoffs in back-to-back seasons?
It's a technicality, really, because it would be 2018, it would be 2018, 2019,
and then they made it in the playing around in the bubble.
So if the season had actually ended, they wouldn't have actually made the playoffs.
So it's really a technicality.
So if you want to go back to the actual year they did it, it would have been 07, 08, 08, 09.
Isn't that wild?
I'll say this.
Brett.
Look at, look at the eyes.
Look at Mike.
You cannot question the past.
That's passionate.
Jack loves cutting clips for these guys.
Jack, give us a little taste here.
It looks like one guy.
They're the best.
It looks like one guy is really passionate.
The other guy is just beaten down by.
He does.
He's like, my wife left me.
The car won't start today.
Dog ran away yesterday.
They'll make the playoffs.
Burn my hand on the frying pan this morning.
Tough.
Oh, I hate when that happens.
It's just, you know, all I got is maybe the flames can win one for me tonight.
no
fuck it
Jack what do you have to do
like let's say that you need to cut a clip
with no swearing in it how's that work
I'd spend
minutes hours cutting out swears
from those guys because they cannot
go a minute without a swear
God bless them
lovely in the dome boys
give it a spin
let's go
lean it into it
last night the fastest
ever overtime winner
and then it shows you
well it's tied four seconds in
now before we press
play. Okay, it's the Seattle broadcast. We've highlighted the Seattle players. Chandler
Stevenson, too much money, too much term. I'm going to take the face off. Jordan Averly,
Calgary boy on left wing. And they got Montour, the defenseman lined up as a forward. As you see,
both teams are doing here in overtime, which kind of makes some sense. So who's the one guy we don't
expect to jump here, Rhett? Probably the defenseman. Or yeah, if you're going to design a play.
Let's keep an eye on Montour and we'll watch it unfold.
60.
So don't do it again.
Off the draw.
One, two, two, three,
he scores.
Hey, hey.
I love it.
Montour, beauty.
Cup champ.
Four seconds.
Dolbish, hit the showers.
Free plugs for energizer there.
Oh, the kid, the rookie defenseman.
Sleep at the wheel.
Oh, boy.
Is that Hudson the cut burnt there?
Do you think that's a designed play?
Have they,
I just don't know that it, like,
he jumps so fast.
He jumped so fast.
He's like,
I'm going to push it forward.
He's the D.
That guy doesn't jump.
Well done.
Well done.
Dan Palsma.
Was it Jessica Campbell?
Good play design.
Well done.
Nice.
Slate tonight.
Let's look at it.
We got an Ovi game,
I believe.
Still nine away.
Didn't shoot at that empty net the other night.
The caps are on the road in L.A.
That's the old Pierlete de Bois revenge match.
There's a Kemper revenge match.
Other good ones, Minnesota, New York, sure.
Devils, Oilers, K.
Columbus has been good.
They host Vegas.
Yeah.
And Boston Ottawa's got some implications because Boston's not out of it yet.
Sends are playing great.
How can you say Boston with the Boston accent?
It's like the only, it's the only word that you have the accent.
So it's fitting.
I mean, Boston's in Ottawa tonight to play the Senators and the Bruins are, of course, from Boston.
And they've got their hands full tonight.
And then, of course, the first game of the night of five in Toronto.
Who wants to be first to the Atlantic?
If you win that game, you are.
That's a fact.
Is that a slobber knocker?
That is a slob knocker.
I think I have to pick that as a game of the night.
This is, you know what this is?
This is a litmus test.
This is a test of the manhood on both sides.
There's a good chance we might do one of these.
in the in the playoffs let's set the tone here who's up for this tonight i think i looked last night
because i was doing the for bet three six five yeah i think they've only played once this year
and and the last year yeah it was like five one panthers you're at home leaps you got the you know
you went out and you got brandon carlo it's got lot what are we going to do are you going to see what you're
made of hey trilliving let's see what you're made of
And the Pantaros, they folded late.
They had a 2-0 lead.
That's right.
Six-game win streak got snapped against the bro-
against Boston.
Yeah, young man, they're going to watch that one.
That'll be a good one.
Five o'clock puck drop.
You're welcome from Toronto.
And if you really want to, well, I mean,
I guess if you didn't have razor blades to drag across your retinas,
you could watch the sharks and Blackhawks tonight, too.
Could be good, entertaining hockey.
Firewagon.
Could be 9-8.
It's going to Jack update.
The Jackometer, we've rested it.
It's recharging, waiting for another football season.
But free agency, it's been open for a while now, Jack,
and the draft isn't yet.
Today, update us on the Steelers quarterback depth chart, please.
I woke up to like 40 Texas morning,
and I was like, thank God this Aaron Rogers thing is over.
I just assumed he had signed.
We paid him his millions.
And no, we brought back Mason Rudolph.
who's a fine backup but still still could be yeah it's not a lot of dough no it doesn't
mean it's a lot of though but like Rogers is really just making this all about him now I'm
sick of him already I'm telling you on the beach people are taking photos he's like LeBron
James or something he is such an ego maniac you listen to him talking you are he just loves it
He will, he will absolutely sewer your team.
You don't want them.
You're happy with this.
You're better off with Rudolph.
Yeah.
Better off with Rudolph.
Make the shirts.
Make the shirts.
Make the shirts.
Yeah.
And then look, if it's not Rogers,
who apparently wants 45 a year and multiple years,
now you're looking to bring in Russ back.
Or James,
who Jack's just going to quit sports if James is the number of quarterback.
Now, dial in, just dive into it.
it embrace it jack all in on james just do yeah just because there's no sense hating yourself and
hating your team because of one guy just laugh about it embrace it just roll with it there's no
what rus russell wilson is going to meet with the giants and the browns yeah he's with he's
he's been cleveland yeah geez is there a more perfect fit than russell wilson and his act
and the completely dysfunctional cleveland browns
It's a nice.
That is a nice combo.
Gross.
Better off with Rudolph.
Congrats.
Thanks.
Yeah.
Brett, we got a couple of hats for you.
Major League Baseball apparently is pulling these out of rotation, which is crazy because
I'd love an assholes hat or an anal's hat, but they apparently don't want them out there.
They're retailing for very high dollars on the secondary market.
Are you rolling the assholes?
Are you going with the anles, Red?
I'm going to go with both.
Ashos, yeah.
I'm going with both.
asshows and anales.
Oh my goodness.
You didn't catch this, guys?
You didn't notice till, oh, now, yeah, we're going to have to pull those.
It does remind me of when the standings in the ALS three years ago had the magical ass hat.
Because the A's is the A with a little S beside it.
And he had S for Seattle.
And then you had H for Houston, A for the Angels and T for Texas.
The standings were ass hat for a day.
you need the the the the oaklands in first place
which is tough to do but we did get that three years ago it's quite a day to be alive
great day ill west ass hats speaking of which i would
how far are we away from uh opening day 27th i believe
the so we're like two weeks yeah they're beautiful look at that eh ass hat
there's ass hat yeah yeah there's 14 15 days something
are are you ready pender because i know there's thinking about it
I know there's another event.
I really am.
There's another thing going on that day.
I don't know what kind of staying power you have for two events in one day.
Are we committed to doing the second thing?
Because I'm going to be an absolute train wreck.
They won't want me anywhere near anything.
Never mind a customer.
You'd be letting a lot of people down if you didn't do the 9-99 and then didn't show up.
I mean, you're a man of the people.
Don't let us down.
I don't need a driver.
Do you have a driver?
Do you have a driver?
You got a black car from?
We can figure that out.
Don't worry about that, Ryan.
Well, that's the least of your worries.
Okay, okay.
That's the least.
Now we're talking about, again, Jay's season opener,
Ryan and potentially Jack doing the 9-99,
which is nine, nine innings of baseball,
nine beers and nine hot dogs.
However you need to do it.
Bender's got some stamps alumni thing.
He can't be sloshed for that,
so he's pulled shoot.
I'll see if we can't get brusty.
He could evaporate some dogs.
He'd be a great guy.
loves the Jays. Does he still have his
Gibbons outfit? He would
he'd come full gibby. Like pants
cleats the whole deal.
Need it. Single lens. Oakley's
he's in. Need it.
Go to the bulk by the night lefty. Let's go.
Lots of events all of a sudden.
I don't have a lot in light. I'm very
much looking forward to this. Now what would
make you happiest? Me and pain? Just any
sort of puke at all or just
chaos?
I don't need you.
in pain. I just, I need to see the show. I got to watch the, uh, live stream. No, I need to be in,
I need to be there in person. I need to witness all that is Pinder opening day, nine hot dogs and
beers. It's, don't sleep on Jack. I like, I think, uh, there's, I've, I, Jack, you never know
what you're getting. Sometimes it's too much for him. Other times he just rises to the occasion.
Jack, how are we thinking about nine, nine, nine, nine. You feel good? I feel good about it. I'm not worried at all.
I'm more worried about that I have to go to the Flames game after.
We both have big days that day.
You have to go.
My dad's in town.
He already bought tickets.
You drop in the puck?
What's, uh,
no,
I,
my dad's a skater.
He's going around with the flag.
Chuck Harbors talk has done the 999 earlier today and this year with the ceremonial
phase.
Just blasted.
Your dad will be so proud to hang out with you.
Yeah.
Wipe it away tears as you puke at center ice.
Oh.
Oh, it's my boy.
We got to weigh in with some other huge, biggest in the world,
small town signature.
Oxford, Nova Scot.
You've got a giant blueberry.
Love you, Oxford.
Nice.
Hello, Oxford.
I saw a bunch on the way out here to Penticton.
There was a big Adirondack chair.
There was a peach.
There was all kinds of stuff.
Where's he had a Rondack chair?
Sycamose, I believe.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
And you know what kind of to this similar thing because what was it the Saskatoon berries?
Was it their baseball or one of their teams in Saskatoon?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
If they don't put up a Saskatoon berry in Saskatoon, they're missing.
I don't think they have one.
Let's go.
Come on.
Come on Saskatoon.
You're better than that.
There's got to be a company.
Look, probably a company makes these things.
Yeah.
Or of a purplish color.
Well, and if not, ask the city of Calgary.
they've got they do they know how fun what's the one what do you call it the poop sticks
poop sticks they probably got the contact the what the email the poop stick people yeah
those people are probably just finishing up spending all that money they made for the poop sticks
and they probably do yeah uh you know what we have a city hall that made that decision would
still get a kickback so they'd be happy to help love it
fat cats.
Freaking Nenshi.
Let's go to Kenora,
Saskatchewan, fellas.
Where's Kenora?
You know where Canora is?
Of course.
Oh.
Holy.
Now, can we zoom in?
What are we looking at here?
That's some Ukrainian heritage.
Is it not?
I did look so upset.
I sure.
Yeah.
Because of Canora,
I think, Ontario,
the Canora Thistles,
the smallest market ever to win a Stanley Cup.
Go, Thistis.
No, Canora.
Saskatchewan.
It's kind of in my,
uh,
My little neck of the woods there.
Is that lovely lady bringing us some food, Dean?
Is that like a platter?
That's, yeah, that's that, the, the loaf.
Oh, baby.
How do you, I didn't, the Pisanka or I don't know exactly how you say that.
Kind of way off, but, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, with the flag in the background.
I mean, look at it.
God bless you.
How aren't you proud, right?
Yeah.
God damn.
And I got to move to Canora.
You could buy Canora, I bet.
Reasonable deals on Conora.
Yeah.
Canora, you know what?
Just north of Yorkton.
Really?
Yeah.
It's an hour and change from my old stomping grounds.
Good.
Nice.
You remember Jake the Snake Roberts?
I do.
Damn, right.
I do.
What a documentary with him.
Do you know Jake the cake?
Delicious.
Oh, wow.
Look at the.
Yeah.
That's just spot on.
That's Damien the Python.
Drugged right up.
They didn't like that.
Python.
No.
Apparently Jake wasn't a snake guy.
He's just like, I have to do this.
Yeah, well, Jake had a lot of things going in those days to numb the pain.
Peter Klein and I, not McLeod Law, but of the old spot.
We interviewed Jake the snake once and he went out of his way twice to mention
prostitutes at an old bar in Calgary.
I feel like he was not boring.
Not on there.
Okay, Jake, these are on.
You see that red light?
That means your life.
It sounded like he had a nice round of gargled razor blades right before that interview.
But you know what?
He's turned his life around.
Thanks to Diamond Dallas page.
DAP yoga.
Oh, nice.
A boy, Jake.
Oh, boy, Jake.
Brett, tell us about your trip to Thailand.
Love Thailand.
Chang Mai.
Did some cooking.
Yeah.
And you know, all of you.
And you had some food.
Look at this.
That's just, you know,
turning the weasel there.
And look at this.
It's a back row.
Man.
You're working on your stage freight right there.
That's what you get on.
Yeah.
If you can, if you can, if you can get out of there with the job done,
no stage freight for you.
You can speak in front of thousands of people.
You've got a great pelvic floor if you can just actively flow right there without any fear.
Okay, lower.
A little lower.
Are we actually going to play this clip because we kind of got stepped on like three days in a row here?
Cricket.
Australia.
Let's go.
Yeah.
Because this is the thing that it's hot.
Games go on forever.
This young fellas got some beers for the lads.
All right.
Chug.
Chanting it.
No problem
I feel like we've seen this one
This is an old one
This is not an old one
It's a different one
Nope
Give it to you, nope, just kidding
Crank the volume here, they love it
Is that, is that Rose Hill?
It is Jay, yeah
Love an Australia
He loves cricket
No more
You can see the game in the background
Middle half
One more
Well, well, well
Well done
No more
yeah. Well, I mean, I was going to bring one to Ozzy Brats.
Hey, look at this. Oh, yeah. Rosie. He's an animal that, Rosal.
Oh, that guy knows how to work a crowd. Yeah. He was just walking back to his seats of beer.
And next thing you knew, he was ready for it all. They had a great halftime thing. MBA.
Are you going to do that when you're eating hot dogs? The night hot dog when it's about to go down?
You don't want to see that.
up the last dog and
no security tackling
him either. Isn't Australia great?
You don't need to worry about missing anything
because cricket games matches last for days.
Oh, that's, yeah.
I'm trying to watch this. Don't worry. Don't worry.
It's Tuesday. It'll be over by Friday.
So what do we do today? Oh, we're just making people
slam their drinks as they walk up to their seats.
That's, that's today.
So the question now becomes, does he go back to get more beers?
Immediate.
Because now he's just going to sit back down
there's no beers. He's going to need a trip to the washroom with that guy in Bangkok.
I like it. Just, you know what? Food for thought, Ryan. Yeah. Food for thought. For you, for you and for Jack.
Ways to maybe spice up the 9-99. That guy on the ball. Panash, would you call it panash?
He's got a certain panash. Um, are you going to host that? Because we can't be talking while we're doing all this very much.
we're going to need someone to play, you know, the host at the table.
Yeah, I'll be, yes, whatever you guys need.
Good.
I'm not here to see you fail.
I know you think that's what I want.
If he's not a king, if he's not a king, he's a kingmaker.
So he's there.
If I go to what go that day and you have four hot dogs and six beers, am I happy?
No.
No.
I've let you down.
I want, I want this is going, I want success for all.
And that is for both of you to finish the 9-99.
Thank you.
We feel that support, Jack.
And I would do.
He's dedicated.
That's sincere.
Dean is dedicated to.
Now, we've seen these NBA, you know, they got the quarters, timeouts all the time.
And it's like, oh, yeah, shoot a three-pointer.
Like, well, it's pretty hard to do.
I mean, you're going to definitely see it on the highlights when it finally happens.
But what about like some dad events?
25 bucks perfect pump.
And look at the guy on the right.
He's filled up a few tanks.
Thanks. Let's go.
All right. We're going to go with Tom. Tom.
Tom, good luck, dude.
Attempt the perfect pump.
25 bucks.
Five, six, seven.
It's moving quick here, boys.
We've all done this.
When do you let go?
So close.
He just got a perfect pump, baby.
Tommy with the perfect pump.
All right, Bob.
NBA, just Entertainment Kings.
That's a great idea.
Nominal.
Wow.
Yeah, you can't beat it.
You can only hope to.
match. Yeah, like, what, you'd rather see
that or a guy, that guy mid-court missing
the backboard? Like, come on, that's genius.
Rice is right. You win both prizes with that.
Yeah, that's double showcase. Both showcases, yeah.
And finally,
we told you about Dean's
job. We were trying to get them a month ago.
Remember all the dogs in the pool?
Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Well, you guys installed a slide and
you just sat here and cackled and laughed all day.
They're so happy.
Look at the Dalmatian.
Dalmatian.
Hey, guys. Hurry up.
Wow, guys. It's totally cool.
no one's hurt do dogs like slides more than kids this is awesome no one has more fun than dogs
they're just with their pals having a day there's dean he's all jacked up so yeah buddy
do you think they were actually like throwing them down no getting them started i think the first
one backwards that's probably a push everyone else is just that's wiggles they're all falling wiggles
down now.
Man.
Yeah, dogs have good days.
When's the last time you've been on a slide?
I was going to go on the water slide yesterday, but.
Cholars.
Chlorine.
Usually in Saskatchewan, we have a little water slide stay over before we head to the lake
in the summer.
I was last like July.
For a while for me.
Water, I bet you'd probably a high percentage the last time that anyone that's
been on a slide is it's been a water slide.
Like, when's the last time you're at a park?
I prefer the water slide for sure.
A real slide?
Maybe that's what we need. It's just the day at the park.
With our dogs.
Going the swings.
Oh, fuck the dogs.
I mean, for us, kind of a team builder.
What do you call it?
Is it an underdog or an under duck or what do you call that?
Underducky.
I call it underdog.
Probably both.
I want to, I'll do the pushing.
I don't want to be on the swing for the under duck.
Your shoulders can be okay?
We'll do that roundabout with the,
get the scooter,
take it off the shins.
Oh,
shinies.
We'll get that guy to bring his scooters out,
rattle them off his fucking shins.
That'd be a great day.
It'd be a great day.
That's a Pinda Report.
Presentation of Village Honda,
your dealership for life.
We may or may not be there soon.
Watch your inbox,
Village Honda, customers.
Speaking of the 999,
I believe that's the same day.
Can you pull it together?
It'll be a real test.
I think you can.
1 o'clock first pitch.
Peek Hammered's probably 4.30.
This is a 6.
Lie down. Oh, that's a tight turn.
I've got you.
I've got your transportation.
Yeah.
I'm sleeping Dino's car on the way out.
Do your puking in there.
Whatever you know.
I'm here.
I'm telling you.
When you get to Village Honda,
they got the detailing.
You know I don't like you.
Everyone knows I don't like you.
But I'm here for you.
Okay.
You don't mind if you got the window on Stony Trail?
Well,
we're taking your vehicle.
Damn it.
We're going to Honda.
We're taking your Ridge line.
You're not getting into my vehicle,
but put Jack in the back.
Not in the seats.
We'll lift the seats up and he can just lay across the back.
Jack's got to go to the game.
He can't even go.
Those seats do go up.
It's unreal.
That's right.
I guess. Okay. Well, you can puke at the dome. Jack. We'll let that happen.
All right. Sounds good. There's so much going on. Now, I told, I think I brought this up to you the other day.
Where is it here? Because it starts tomorrow. I thought maybe it was today. Richmond's Pub.
They have got the Guinness countdown. Yes.
At Richmond's Pub, our buddies. This weekend, it is St. Patrick's Day weekend. Monday's the day. But at Richmond's
are like, it's not as kind of, don't box us in, hey?
Don't, come on.

Saturday, $8.
Guinness.
Sunday, $7.
Guinness.
Monday, St. Patty's Day, $6.
Guinness.
Stay care.
Let's go.
They care.
Saturday night, Celtic band,
Glasgow Kiss, going to be performing
live from 8 until midnight.
There is no cover charge.
You show up and have a ball.
Ha-ha.
Have some pizza.
Hammer cheese on a too.
Look at it.
Irish tacos.
Cere beef beer braised cats.
Irish tacos. What's in that?
It's all right. I don't mind that at all.
See, this isn't,
they're so good.
Beer-braced cabbage,
steamed corn beef,
white cheddar,
Emerald Isle sauce.
That's got to be something special.
Pickery sticks.
Look at that Irish breakfast.
Two eggs,
rye toast,
brown beans,
corn beef,
back bacon,
some cubed hash and some fried tomato.
That's a good base right there.
You're going to have your Guinnesses,
start there.
I'm starving.
That's Saturday,
Sunday only.
Okay.
See,
a lot of places you're going to go.
They're like,
oh,
yeah,
what are you doing?
Yeah,
St.
Patrick's Day.
We're going to be open.
Okay.
Are you doing it?
Well,
I mean,
you know,
Oh,
like every other day then it's going to be look at this that's why richmond's that's why live music

day on the 17th thank you richmond's and uh they got the TVs if there's sports on it's going on
live music.
There is a vibe at Richmond's pub.
And I'll,
can I come clean?
Yeah.
Trust you here.
Okay.
It was last week.
You know, we always talked about having pizza,
Richmond's bringing in that sort of thing.
And there was a day,
you know,
you took off and Ryan,
I think you were,
you were gone.
Jack, you had something going on.
I'm done beating around.
I went to Richmond's by myself and had pizza.
Why?
Don't be ashamed.
It's a great decision.
I'm proud of you.
I would say that, yeah.
Proud of you.
Should do it every week.
My name is Dean and I ate pizza by myself.
Crush the whole pie.
Oh, yeah.
No, I ordered the big one.
Just have through it.
What pizza did you get?
Yeah.
Bigger.
I went, I called my own shot out with a pepperoni back bacon salami.
It's so good
So the dough there is exceptional.
Can I say that?
There's something about, yeah, they,
the dough is special there, for sure.
What were you going to say, Rhett?
Are you disappointed in yourself or were you,
that you didn't finish?
Well, I'm fine with it.
I just feel like when you tell other people,
oh, who'd you go with?
Just me.
I don't think anyone that knows you at all would even question.
So you went out for lunch
with yourself.
Yeah.
I remember that day.
You're like, Jack, do you think today?
What do you think?
Is it today?
Or, uh, and it was one of those things.
I got into my vehicle and I was sitting at the stop sign.
It's like a left takes me home.
I mean, I could get to Richmond's pub if I go a wet left, but I mean, A to B has the
crow flies smarter to go to my right.
You know what, man?
Hit the bunker.
Do it.
Do it.
Do it.
Took her right.
Then a Larry.
Straight into Richmond's.
Right over Crowch out and into the heart of Lamarckin.
Did you get cheese buns while you're there?
No, I didn't actually.
Kind of rude.
Yeah, kind of rude.
Richmond's pub 3919 Richmond Road in the Heart of Lamargan,
where they will let you eat pizza yourself.
But I was going to say, I was saying there's a vibe.
It was because I don't think it was Tuesday.
I don't think it was Wing Day.
That goes last Wednesday, I think, because it was the tacos.
Bumping.
Really?
Yeah, people.
It's, there's, it's, it's, I think we're going to say it.
Well, you guys have just said that.
I've not got in there where it's dead or dull or nothing going.
There's, there's a vibe.
And then drove by it the other day.
I was like, is it going to be bad for me to, uh, going again by myself?
And then I had some self-restraint.
And there were other people in the vehicle, and I figure they're going to want to eat some of my pizza if they come along.
Sound on for the games, too.
Yeah, that's right.
Can't beat the dome Friday.
It's position A.
That's correct.
I guess Red's gone.
I think we lost our buddy.
I don't think we lost them.
I think that makes it sound like it's a technical thing.
No, that's true.
He lost us on purpose.
Yes.
Yeah.
See a losers.
Again, we're here.
Anyway, service credit union, the big share contest is back.
It's in full swing.

Visit service.ca slash win.
We are halfway through the month of March.
I feel like there's like smart people are doing taxes and investments and this sort of thing,
you know, that sort of thing.
That'd be the other thing.
If you're in there, talk to them about that.
Helpful.
Hey, I'm an idiot.
Can you help me with my life?
And they will.
They'll figure some things out for you.
But yes, the big share contest, chance to win a million dollars just by being smart
and saving your money.
Service.ca.
may slash win.
Do do do.
Do do to do to do.
A lot of people are into this Calder race.
I'll tell you that.
So, yeah, I mean, if there's going to, from the looks of it,
depending on what happens over the next 20 games or whatever it is,
there's going to be a very credible candidate that will not get nominated.
It's going to be Mishkov and I'm kind of arrived there.
I just think he's at a very good year.
But in this year's class, that's not good enough.
Mishkov's the better for, or sorry, Celebrini's had.
the better offensive season as a forward in smaller games as a younger player,
winning more puck battles.
Like he's carrying a load.
It's impressive what he's done.
And then it's like,
how do you compare a 60 point rookie defenseman to a rookie goaltender who's top three by most stats in the league?
I don't know.
What if Mishkov gets like six or seven or eight goals here in the next?
What if it goes in a half?
He can get back into it.
Sure.
Yeah.
And you know,
what if Celebrity gets hurt? What if the flames
make or don't make? There's lots of variables
to unfold, but
I'll go look at 365 right now
because they take these things down at night
often while games are happening.
And then they'll refresh them overnight so you can
wake up to the updated odds.
Mishkov Celebrini both have 20 goals.
Celebrity one more point, has played 10 fewer games.
Lane Hudson is now at 51 in 65
as a D man.
Yeah. And the Celebrity thing is that
he is a much more well-rounded player
and winning battles against grown men.
Rook, he just don't do that.
Does that factor into a Calder, though?
I think in the long run, it makes it better.
Savvy enough to say, like, he's a much better player
without the puck.
Wow, that's the thing.
Do you trust how savvy are some of the people that vote for this thing?
Well, I mean, I like noodles steak.
He likes Wolfie here, but you can see already the gap I'm talking about.
Celebrini is the guy.
a beat. Hudson's going to get a lot
of love and it's a very vocal fan base
in Montreal. Wolf, if they
get in, those odds get trimmed up a ton
because he's the driving force for them to get
in, a team that everyone thought was going to be
no good this year. He's
the MVP of that team.
And Mishkov, it's a nice year.
In other years, you can win the Calder with the kind of production he's
had, but sorry, it's just at this point, it doesn't
measure the other three. To your point,
if he goes in a heater, yeah, he can get back in this thing.
Looks like Maxim Cipakov
has got his work.
It's good.
It can be tough.
But if it happens, it'll pay nicely.
And Stancovin is a rookie, eh?
Yeah, less than 25 games, I think is the cut off.
So not unlike Wolf who had, what, 17 games before this year?
Something I had?
10 maybe.
We're biased.
It's hard.
If we just watch it, right?
If he does not get nominated, okay, does he win?
He's got to be in the final three if anyone's paying attention.
And I know goalies don't play every night,
but he's sure played enough by now and played so well.
He's starting to climb the history books, too,
in terms of like active players,
he'll have a shot to get into the top three of all active goalies
for wins in a rookie season.
And wins is a tough measuring stick for this guy
because the team in front of them.
It's not like Stuart Skinner flying in to play behind
dry saddle on McDavid on a cup contender, you know?
Yeah.
And there's a difference between goalies
in their first season with them.
team and rookie, right? Because there's, I saw one thing as Jose Teodor with the capitals. Well,
yeah, it was, he was not a rookie then, but it was his first season with the capitals and he put up a lot
of, a lot of wins. Anyway, let's do it. Bet 365, breaking news coming in from Bet 365, every
nail biting overtime win is a barn burner. Every face off, hat trick, power play shot on goal,
penalty shot every suspenseful minute in between is amazing, whatever the moment. Never
ordinary at Bet365, official partner of the end.
HL, download the Bet365 app today, and use the code nation to get in on the game.
Must be 19 or older.
Please play responsibly.
Please.
You know, he's turned into an ox in the last couple months here and literally is carrying
his team on his back, Brady Kachuck.
Yes.
Scored in a bunch of games here.
The first one out of the gate the other night, anytime goal plus more than 35,
we're going to hammer that, and he's not done.
Big game, jockeying for position against the Bruins, trying to lock in a wild card.
two points tonight plus 2.30. Go get a Brady. There you go.
A giant thing. Ready to Cichick. Remember he was at the dome cheering for the flames wearing his
shirt. Yeah. Yeah. How are we going to remember? Like I know
kind of look back and you're like, how did that Kachuk? Like how? And like Johnny like gosh,
that's like all of a sudden poof. Two years later, there's almost no one left from that team.
But the end of the dome guys made a great point. Like they didn't ever make the play.
two years in a row even.
Never mind playoff success.
You think it wasn't like you broke up a dynastic group in a sense.
Yeah, I know.
There were some really high-end guys.
It kind of under-
It's revisionist, right?
Because we all kind of sat here.
It was like, break, you got to break up the core.
All we did was harang and bitch and moan.
But it's not as though you didn't have the makings of a team.
You've seen what Sam Bennett is and can be.
Is he elite, like leading your team in scoring?
No.
but he's a part of a winner
and Kachuk and
Goddrow and then if you add
Anderson and obviously I know
Weger with the Kachuk but I mean
if not Weger then maybe you add somebody else
there's
Yeah
But in many ways
Even with Weger and Huberdough
Losing Kichuk is tough
And Johnny leaves
And Monaghan and Sam Bennett
Basically is just you just lost them
They're just gone
So and yes, there's draft picks in that, but there was, you wonder if you had one or two of those pieces still.
Yeah.
This team is like.
The other pieces is Monaghan.
I mean, the injuries just crushed them.
And they still are.
Like in Montreal, they resigned to do another deal because he was injured.
And in Columbus, great start.
Now he's injured.
Like everyone loved the player, but he just couldn't do the job because he was hurt.
Yeah.
you don't expect that to be as debilitating.
Like it really has derailed what was an incredible start to a career.
He scored a ton.
Yeah.
And there, and you know what?
Those, there's some of those high picks you talk about, you know,
Kachuk high pick, Sam Bennett, high pick.
Monaghan, high pick.
Yeah.
The four, five, six, those three.
God damn it.
Good times, you know.
It's all right.
I was at the dome last night.
And there was, people are hopeful.
We'll see playoffs one more time in that building before the new one.
And I don't know where you're at now.
The whole center thing's tough.
But God, there was great energy last night.
That play, I don't know how it came across on the broadcast,
but it was rocking most of the night.
Honestly, it felt like not so much the crowd.
I just felt like throughout the whole thing.
Maybe not the start.
But it, guys, you realize what's at stake here potentially?
Just go get this.
They played last night.
They're not very good.
Hughes is playing every second shift.
Myers is out.
Foreboard took a shot off the hand and he's not.
Go get this thing.
And they just couldn't.
And then at the start of the third,
it's like, yes, here you go.
Get on it.
And you're seeing what's happening, right?
You're causing turnovers.
You're getting chances.
You're getting zone time.
But they just never got,
they just never got there.
And if,
If you had to say, okay, like, how does this play out?
I could probably have convinced you or you, me, that in the third period,
the flames will have more energy because the Canucks played the night before.
Exactly.
It was the exact opposite script, but that's kind of why it's even more disappointing
because you're going to get outplayed periods here or there.
But that was the biggest game of the year, the team that's chasing you,
travel the night before, didn't even skate that day.
They should be the ones gassed in the third.
And they kind of fed you your lunch.
Yeah, 17-4.
We shot 16-1 at that one point.
after they had tied it.
Yeah.
Fellas.
Fellas.
Did they, here's the thing.
Did Huska not,
did they not play the show yesterday?
Because we said this is the biggest game of the year.
Well,
I'm not sure.
Who would that be?
Would that be?
Pringle.
One of the assistants.
He's the video guy.
Chips.
It's a call.
Who do we talk to?
Because if they did not have the podcast going yesterday,
then there's only so much we can do.
We can't do the show and watch and listen to it for you.
It does beg the question, is tomorrow the biggest game of the year now or not?
Because I don't know.
It's not head to head.
I mean, they're all big.
It just felt bigger last night.
Did.
What little, you've still got game, but you.
Oh, Colorado's your game in head.
Awesome.
Great.
Who's Vancouver playing next to Chicago?
Well, hey, it's all good.
You know what I did last night?
I got thinking about, because I've been talking with Greg,
because last Friday we did the,
I guess I never really told you with bontan what happened yet last week I'd go yeah I left shortly
after because I had to go there was a lot of meat left like he it was enough for a small nation it was
more than three humans could ingest yeah and a lot of gravy oh yeah and vegetables I think uh I think
Lindsay took the vegetables and some of yeah anyway I packed up because I did the the first round
for our trade deadline day coverage.
Thank you to origin brewing and
Bontan meats.
Greg sent over the beef and the beef ribs.
And I think I went for round three before we left.
Right at the end,
I did round three and then clean that up
and then took a plate to go home.
What time did I text, Greg?
Because I had to go home to bed.
We kind of joked about it.
I've got the meat sweats.
Ooh, I'm going to be tired.
Oh, man, I can't.
no, went to bed.
I was a zombie the rest of that day.
4.48 p.m.
FYI, I'm lying in bed.
You did it again.
448.
Yes.
Wasn't that you and your better half in Nashville?
Well, yeah, there was that.
But also, you know, Bontan has also put my wife to bed prematurely too.
Really?
I think there was some beef ribs and potato salad one day that, uh, I need to go lie down.
It's okay, babe.
It's okay.
It happens.
Throw on a show.
I'll say this.
Details on another fiesta are in the making, even as we speak.
I've heard.
I'm so excited.
It's going to have layers to it.
It's going to involve the listeners and the viewers.
Okay.
It's not going to be pretty.
I've got ideas for some shirts or for something.
Merchandise.
I think it's a.
Our guys could get behind.
Oh, it's perfect for our guys.
It's perfect for our guys.
We used to have these like contest things that are like,
oh, you could win a go golfing with hinder and boomer.
And it's like, I wonder who we're going to get today.
Yeah.
He's going to be on the current.
Meet him.
Yep, these are our guys.
Yeah, this is our guys.
It's our guys.
definitely hear the show.
Yeah, this is going to be just fine.
This is, uh,
he's our boys.
Yeah.
Bontan meat market.
The best part is is Greg is,
I just,
he says, I just want to have fun.
I just want to do,
can we just have fun?
Yeah, man.
Yeah, we can have fun.
And you know what?
When you are 24 consecutive years,
the, uh,
consumer's choice award winner for best meat in deli.
That's got,
he's,
he doesn't have it,
but you can have a little bit.
a swagger.
You can have that.
You know you're going to the right place is what it means.
28 crowfoot circle in the northwest,
bontan meat market.
Because we got a lot going on.
So it's about timing and where is you going to find the right pocket?
We've got another event that we'll announce next week.
Plus maybe two.
Richmond's.
And then there's the thing that we do with the thing.
That's coming up.
We got a lot.
999.
Busy times.
Really is.
Yep.
I guess no super chats today, which is fine.
It's all right.
I think people, it's a tough day.
Yeah, it is.
People a little bit shell-shocked and just kind of out of sorts after.
You know me out there.
Yeah.
Tomorrow's game day.
We'll be back.
Better than ever.
