It's not good Friday, but good Friday to all of you.
Every Friday's good, Dean.
So great, so great, so great to be here on a Friday.
Friday is Hawaiian Shirt Day.
So, you know, if you want to, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.
Do Hawaiians wear jeans so much or shorts?
Board shorts, I would think, right?
Jeans would be hot.
I don't have the jeans work there.
No.
After sun goes down,
I don't know.
I would not want to be stuck in jeans in Hawaii.
I can say right now,
emphatically,
that if I'm going to Hawaii,
not packing a pair of jeans.
Probably don't need it.
No denim.
What about some kakis?
Are you packing khakis?
Are you a khaki-pocker?
I don't.
You're a bit of a khaki-pocker, I think you would be.
What you did kahikis?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, shit.
Are you through security pender?
Yeah.
Got your first drinking you?
No, I got the warden over my shoulder.
I don't like this.
I can see you.
Wow.
Nervous.
It's quite a world you're in there where it's, uh,
it's, uh, it's, uh, it's good.
So you are, you are through security.
You're at the pub.
and you're not having a drink.
Is that what's happening?
That is correct.
Yeah.
Well, this is the life you've chosen for yourself, I suppose.
You know, it's strikes and gutters.
You know what it is, retro?
It's more of this.
Oh, God.
You got kids their best ever.
Push it on down.
Real Ryan.
Yeah, real Ryan will show up at some point, I'm sure.
but yeah my my brother's down there and it's his birthday tomorrow so we'll find some
spicy margaritas how old's bob how old is bob it's not at the big one yet
it's still in his 30s that's all you need to know that's not the big one i was going to say
christ wow i'd kill for the big one when you're in your 30s that is the big one if i can have
the big one again where do i sign for the big one yeah the big one we're talking right now is that
what are they called the widow maker, the big heart attack?
That's the big one that I'm waiting for now.
You know that or an earthquake, right?
Yeah, whatever, whatever it is.
We'll do our opening statements for McLeod Law.
Peter Klein, McLeod Law.
You know him, you love them.
What a guy.
Personal injury guy, also the go-to guy in Calgary for your disability insurance claim.
If your long-term disability insurance company will not pay you those insurance benefits,
then contact Peter because he'll get them for you.
Peace of mind, the benefits and everything that you need.
in great hands with Peter and everybody at
MacLeodlaw, MacLeod-Dashlaw.com.
I'm concerned.
I have concerns
over what we're watching
in the Western Conference
Final. And you know what? Let's
go back even a couple of games
into the conference
semi-final.
And it's not just that the Oilers
won all three of those games.
It's the manner in which they've won them,
gentlemen. Yeah. That has
me a little bit concerned that they've maybe figured some shit out.
I think they've had good goal tend to for five games here right too.
Stuart Skinner was awesome last night.
He was great.
Especially early.
You had the breakaway chance.
There's now listen,
they hit a couple posts in that four minute man advantage.
It wasn't like watching Game 7 with Vancouver that did nothing on their double
minor.
But yeah,
if they're going to get 925 Skinner,
it's over.
It's more than that,
man. It was very good.
Their penalty kill
goes five for five. They're limiting
shots. They're blocking shots. This
is not the Oilers that were used
to. The calling card of the
Oilers that we love, our favorite
Oilers are the guys, hey,
defense be damn. Let's win this thing, 7, 6. If you got any
points? Okay, well, let's get you a point this year.
Who's got points? Points, points. That's how
they lived life.
This is a different,
retro. They had a look
Yeah, they had a look about them that they knew how to play.
They knew what they needed to do.
They had control.
It wasn't wishy-washy.
They didn't do it for a while and then forget how.
I'm with you.
There should be some consternation and concern from anyone not wearing blue and orange.
They beat L.A.
It's, what, 1-0 or 2-1 in one of those games in round 1, and they're like, that's new.
And it was because they haven't been able to win those low scoring affairs.
My point's just like, look, if there's one leaky goal, Dallas wins that game.
It's that simple.
And so if they are going to be good defensively, you know they have the game breakers that Dallas doesn't.
They don't have a dry saddle or McDavid or a Bushart even the way he's playing.
Yeah, if your goal is going to be good, they've got everything.
They have been pretty good defensively the last three to five games.
Because we said going into game one, now things could change.
It's one game.
We always over yet.
It's an inch.
But it was, the thing was,
they're not going to be able to limit Dallas.
Vancouver got 18 shots.
You're not going to do that to Dallas.
They kind of did that to Dallas for a good chunk of that.
I mean, you get into double overtime and those shots are going to start to ratchet up.
But all three of their goals come five on five and against the TANV pairing.
You have home, you've got last change.
And you wanted Tanev and Lindell out there.
And they were out there.
there for all of the goals, including, including the game winner, where, um, that you do,
I would think, right, you've probably been there where you're a defenseman, you're behind
the net, you're battling for a puck, and you just kind of do a quick shoulder check,
and you see your D partner standing beside you?
Oh, oh, shit.
Um, then who's in front of the net?
Oh, Mick David.
That's who's in front of the net.
Game over.
Um,
I mean, it's, it is.
I can't decide if it's a fall asleep or try to do too much.
I don't know.
But it's also, you know what it is?
It's how thin the margin can be sometimes.
You make a mistake.
It's in double overtime.
It's in the back of your net.
I think Dallas has more to give.
I think they kind of have that.
You know, whatever, rest, rust.
I think we saw it with Florida in the Boston series.
I think we've seen it throw out the playoffs and we do every year.
I think Dallas will be better in game two.
I think even by the time the end of the second,
third period rolled around, they started to get their
their feet moving a little bit.
Can I get there for a second?
What I noticed, they finally scored
on it when they kind of threw it after that.
Datanav made, I don't know if you meant to tip it
to Sagan, but if he did,
beauty play. But the point
I was getting at was they didn't have a ton of shots
and they had zone time with the puck
and I'm talking about dolls, but they weren't
throwing pucks at the net. And if I'm
at the opposite, if I'm playing
against Edmonton, that's exactly
would I do it. I want to make
their D kind of spin and turn
and find things because I don't think
that's their strength.
I don't, maybe I'm
crazy, but
it seems to me they have chances
and Edmontons doing a better job of blocking
shots, so give them that, but that just
means get more pucks to the net.
Like, not less.
That's what I was thinking too, because they did
it to Vancouver. Is it that
the teams aren't putting pucks on net
or that the oilers are keeping that they are?
that they're committed like we've not seen them to keeping plays to the outside,
to blocking those shots.
So when you continually get shots blocked, now you're trying to, well, we've got to change
things.
You're trying to become a little bit more creative if you're the stars of the offense.
And next thing, you know, they, they were just real good.
And they've been real good for a little bit.
That penalty killed 33 of 36 is where they're in case at.
To get the zone, gain the zone against them seems incredibly difficult.
And I think Dallas started to figure out if you can't make two passes very quickly, they're all over.
Because they just, they go two or three guys to.
They've just said, yeah, they've said, like we're just going to sell out for the puck.
Yeah.
And so if you beat us.
You can't make two crisp passes, you're dead.
I agree with you there, Ryan, where they're just saying, if you can move it, make three or four
really good passes in a row and move it quick, yeah, okay, you might get a chance.
But we're going to, we're going to play the odds that you can't do it.
We're going to put pressure on that puck, and they've been successful with it.
it's it's working i don't know but
hockey's always close but
frick quarter of an inch one way or the other and we're talking about a
different story yeah yeah two posts
so how did
can they do it for a full series can they do it for seven more wins
i think it's going to be a series either way whatever
they're playing controlled hockey
i don't know what it looks like and again i'm thinking maybe you've seen it
in your career with. We've probably seen it over time. It feels almost like a team that has listened
to its coach that the coach kind of please, just try it. Can we just play this way? I feel like
we're going to see results. And then they get results. It's like, oh, shit. It's like a door is open.
And it's, okay. Okay. It's starting to come out right now. And old Chuckie Knoblock comes in and
like David's buddy. So you're thinking that there's a relationship.
where he's going to listen to him.
I think Paul Coffey has had a massive,
has to have had a massive impact on that decor.
And part of the reason is because they listen to him.
Right?
Like this guy's a Hall of Famer.
You can't ignore what he's trying to tell you.
And it seems to.
Well, they ran someone too when they got rid of gold,
when they got rid of Woodcroft.
Who did they, it was their D guy.
And that's when they brought coffee in.
Yeah.
And so like,
But Dave Manson
They're much better since
Yeah.
Yeah.
Don't get me wrong.
Dave Manson's Dave Manson.
He had a hell of a career
and is as respected as anyone that's played.
But different tool set and probably
looking at the game a little differently.
I got to imagine that if Dave Manson's given advice,
it's like me trying to give Bushard advice.
Probably, eh.
But Paul Coffey's played that game.
He's played that game.
offensive style. He's made those plays. I just don't think you can discount what he's meant to that
coaching staff. It's one of those things. You brought it up earlier in the week, Pinder. It's not as though
Bouchard has just started playing a bunch of minutes and putting up points. His playoff last year.
He was over a point again. He was terrific. 17 points in 12 games. It's still, it feels like
not the points aren't just there, but his involvement has has increased. It's, he's, he's,
here's the numbers from last night because you know how I love numbers.
Yeah, of course.
3101 primary assist on the winner in 5 on 5 minutes,
28 minutes, 49 seconds at 5 on 5.
Shots for the Oilers, 188, high danger chances, 7 and 0, goals,
3-0-0-0.
So that's not just chipping in and getting cherry-pick assists
or getting goals in the power play.
That's a well-rounded game all of a sudden from this kid.
I think he's the highest paid defenseman in the league in two years.
Like he's got that nice blend of he's old enough where he's close to UFA.
They bridged him.
And he's now, he had over 82 points this year.
He looks like 100 point D next year if they keep this crew together.
Yeah.
God.
It's crazy.
And it's like, how do they find another one of these guys?
Well, this one actually, they drafted and developed.
It wasn't the win a lottery thing.
But there was a lot of time where they, like, move this guy for somebody that'll hit someone.
It took a while, but it's there.
And that's another guy that you're talking at 40, 50 million bucks of those three guys now.
Do you want to get them all?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a good problem now, though.
Yeah.
You'd rather have it in the other way.
I don't, I'm not happy about any of the, no, this sucks.
Yeah.
Now, Dallas was down two O fellows, remember, to Vegas?
Yeah.
Where was morale about the stars at that point?
Certainly, it's just you don't want to, you don't want to, you don't want to give them two.
I'm, Dallas certainly has the ability to win the series.
Yeah.
But I don't want a chance.
I don't want to, you know what I mean?
Yeah, it's one of those things.
If you pick them closer.
Yeah, I'll take the stars in six and then the Oilers win a game.
Jesus.
Well, you took them in six.
They're going to have to win a game or two in order for that to come through.
But there is, again, some resiliency.
Another part of this team where maybe in the past they fold.
They just crumbled.
They blew a two nothing lead.
McDavid robbed by Ottinger somehow on that play, a four-minute penalty kill in overtime, a goal post, another goal post, and all of it, they survive and get it done.
Little adversity along the way.
It's these things that the hallmarks of good hockey teams that win that they're starting to show right now, which is probably for us, the most concerning.
yes it is we need something horrible to go on here yeah hey we can if they get through this round
we it's that's peak sadness trust me i've done it you get all the way there get real real close
the funny thing is like you keep thinking like how does this end if they if they don't win it
how did they get their hearts broken it might be public enemy number one if it was not the
could chucking getting like that's right into their scar tissue isn't it yeah that'd be all right
But you don't want them getting that part.
But if they did, boy, if Kachuk could come back and be even more hated than he ever was, that'd be impressive.
What do you think the betway, if we were going to go betway and look on the app, the odds of McDavid in front of the net with that amount of time and not scoring?
Because you know what people do?
They go and they'll cherry pick the screen grabs.
There's nobody standing beside him.
I mean, I don't know how.
I'm stunned he was left alone.
I actually thought there was,
you mentioned it, that D tandem
didn't do a great job of keeping those guys off the
score sheet. I think they will be better,
but as soon as he got out of the box and overtime
and that they didn't score,
I'm like, for sure this guy's going to score.
And the fact that he didn't score there.
Yeah. It was like, oh,
okay, well, good on you.
She's just incredible.
because he did that,
Audenger did kind of the same thing earlier in this
playoff, right?
He held the paddle out and got a piece of one
that he had no business getting.
It's desperation.
But it's,
I thought the exact same thing
that they better,
they better score on this four minute power play
or they might be in,
they might be hooped.
And,
I would say that McDavid still doesn't look himself to me.
In general.
I think he looks, he's obviously still good.
Yeah.
But I don't, to me, something doesn't, he doesn't seem to be 100%.
It could be.
Like, who caught him last night in a race?
I don't care if he was a little bit tired.
Yeah, who was it?
Lindell.
Yeah, it was.
It wasn't even hasty.
It was Lindell that caught him.
Right?
Like, there's no way that happens regularly.
Like, again, he maybe is tired and this and that, but you've seen the guy tired before
and people still can't touch him.
Yeah.
Like, he should be pulling away from guys.
Anyway, that's my dumb observation.
It was a good night for the depth guys, too, for them.
We talked about, you know, the stars.
And, yeah, they're all over the score sheet.
But the third line, the fourth line, the bottom four defensemen,
since they've broken them up and split the CC and Nurse, like, it's been better.
And it wasn't a night where you're like, you know,
the bottom two lines of Dallas overwhelmed the O'Ollors.
Like, they got good performances.
And to be fair, like, a lot of those guys are penalty killers.
they're unreal right now.
Yeah.
And the Oilers had the lead, right?
If they're trailing, you're probably trimming that bench
and you're seeing a lot more of 97 and whatever number of fucking dry saddleware.
But when you're when you're protecting,
you maybe play it a little bit different.
But to your point at the very beginning, goalpost and out goes goalpost and in.
Dallas wins.
And it's a whole different story.
And it was close.
This is early on in the fort.
I mean, it's so close.
man.
The puck,
I don't know.
The puck is round
and the post is round,
guys.
I don't know if you've ever
thought about that.
They're both cylinders.
Round puck, round post.
He put the wrong
spin on it.
Yeah.
Not enough of the intern,
I guess.
And how much of the,
could that hit a pad
and a heel and go in?
Yeah.
Even right here.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He looks good.
Give Skinner credit.
For a guy that got,
yanked in a series where they were trailing, you know, three to two in or two to one,
whatever it was at that juncture, he's, uh, confident composed, is not freaked out.
This is not, uh, like he, he seems to be very level headed, which at that position isn't
always the case.
Stars have lost game one in seven straight series.
It's not the recipe for success that you'd.
Yeah.
Every single loss by a goal, five of them have come in double over time or over time or over.
time.
Oh, and seven in game ones.
Five of them beyond regulation.
Yeah.
So it's a kick in the,
it's a kick in the in the stones.
I looked,
just because we were talking about
Evander Kane and what he's done.
Last year,
Hyman had three goals in 12 playoff games.
It's like, were you sick?
Did you have,
did you have the flu bud or what?
Because he got 12 in 13 games this year.
They're finally spending money on his development.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
And you know what's also good?
You talk about, you know, residue that's left behind.
It's now pissing off Leaf fans that they let him go for nothing.
You didn't get it with this guy.
He's got 12 goals and 13 games.
This is the kind of guy you need the playoffs.
We need to let him walk for nothing.
Way to go dubus, you idiot.
So there's that.
Oiler happiness, leaf sadness.
It's not quite the same, but, no.
It's been a couple of good centers he's played with in his career, right?
Yeah, I guess so.
All right.
Is it a better landing spot?
Pinder's at the airport. Give us the update.
Left my hoodie at the bar I didn't drink at, so I got to hustle back before boarding begins.
No vacation, Pindon.
Isn't this kind of your move?
But you know what this proves? You know what this proves?
It's not the booze that makes you forget my hoodie.
Like, case of point, boom.
It's true.
Decisive.
That's our pre-boarding announcement.
Science doesn't lie.
Didn't you just leave a hoodie?
It was your kid's hoodie at the dome.
Is that what it was?
Yeah, and a hat.
And a hat.
My jacket was in the closet there.
Right.
Yeah.
And then my one kid forgot something at school every day.
And they're just like, I don't know how like where did he get that?
Okay.
I might have a hand search too, but yeah.
Gordon doesn't like that either.
People want you to run.
Do you have to run?
Do you need to get up to a light jog?
We're at a brisk pace here and there's a little rampy thing here with the.
That's right.
Yeah.
Shin splints.
How's it feeling?
I'm good.
Yeah.
Hmm.
On a, on a scale of one,
10, one being everything's great, and 10 being, we're signing divorce papers as soon as the
plane lands.
Where are things right now with you and Mama?
I feel like we kind of rest between like three and six and we're still in that range.
Yeah?
Yeah, she just vibrates at a higher frequency.
There's a lot of everything's stressful and that's not me.
Well, it is you, but it's weird.
it's selective because you've you vibrate at a very high level about certain things and then there's
other things right yeah yeah you're very yeah no like i'm definitely super high energy in your face
it's not a paranoia worry though yeah but she's like we're after we have to get up at 5 a.m. get all these
things to you like like what and she's like take out the garbage and like yeah i can do that that's fine
like but you're you know two hours for that yeah and you know what i find
talking about the more ridiculous you make their concerns seem to them
is the best, that's the best medicine.
That's the best way to go about it.
It's to make them feel like they're,
what do you be,
what are you being so uptight about?
Just calm down, babe.
That's stint.
Tell them to calm down.
That's perfect.
That goes over the world.
Yeah.
Oh, I just press the calm button.
I forgot, yeah.
Nice.
So you're off to, uh,
Palm Springs.
Yeah.
Get a drink in your pender.
Get a couple of margaritas.
Chill out and relax.
Buy one for the old lady too, you know?
And, uh, yeah,
the,
firebirds that ousted the Wranglers.
They start round three or four Wednesday.
So it might get to a game.
Take one of the turds to the game.
What a waste of a vacation.
You'll appreciate this one,
this one coming in on the chats from Ryan Pike.
Pinder is the human embodiment of the
This is Fine Dog meme.
There's just flames and chaos behind you.
And you're, this is fine.
They're like, oh, what blend is this?
This is a lovely, lovely darkrope.
Yeah.
Sipping coffee in the fire.
Got it.
Bye, Ryan.
Now we can vacation.
See you, fellas.
All right.
Take it easy.
There he is.
It is funny, though,
because he is wound very tight.
But he's not wound tight.
He's excitable.
I think that's how I would interpret him.
He wants that just go.
I don't.
think he sits in stoozers
worried. No, there's no, you know what?
There isn't. There isn't any dwelling.
No. There's no dwelling there.
It's a, everything's going to work out. This two shall pass.
So there's no need to get uptight about it. Yeah, he wants to do too much.
He can't be distracted by thinking it through.
Yeah. Go!
And it's like, well, there's probably a happy medium somewhere.
Yeah, as with most of them.
somebody saying, I, uh, I thought Pindra would be the stress king.
No, it's odd because there's, there's no stress there.
But if you start talking about, uh, the oilers or anything that's in his backpack, then it's,
you've now the wires touch as they say.
Oh, there's annoyance and there's aggravation and there's, yeah, but it's not a worry.
No, it's a, it's a, and it's a desire to be to be right.
Yes. Yes.
How can you not agree with what I'm saying?
Let me speak more often and louder about what it is so I can try and convince you.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
The big German, Leon, 13 game point streak, scored his 40th career playoff goal,
102 points in 62 playoff games.
Jeebus.
Pick them up.
Let's see.
Do I have anything?
Got his ass handed to him in the face off circle.
Did he?
What was the, what were the?
I think he was seven for 27.
The last I heard anyway.
Yeah, he was eight of 21.
So there you go.
Guys sucks.
Yeah, but what do you do in the playoffs?
Oh, two points per game in the playoffs.
All right.
I guess that's okay.
Guess we'll allow that.
The one thing, you know, Pinder, he got the snoring treatment at outdoor dental.
So that's the one thing that he tries.
He's trying to appease with the wife.
And you can do it to Outdoor.com.
It's the website, Dr. J. Patel.
They have the Soleil laser.
They do it for the dental stuff.
But they also have a treatment there.
Two 15-minute treatments increases the tension in the soft palate.
It'll reduce your snoring.
It's non-surgical.
It's pain-free.
Wouldn't you love to feel better?
Wouldn't you love to have more sleep?
better quality sleep. Let's say you're getting,
I'm going to get four or five hours. What if that four or five hours,
you were getting better quality sleep?
And maybe that stretches out into six hours of quality sleep.
You're happier. The people around you are happier.
All of it, all of it's better. And all of it,
it's with two 15 minutes treatments. You can't tell you don't have the time for that.
Come on.
Don't take your phone into the can.
That's right.
To get off of,
off of what people go on.
It's Facebook still a thing.
Yeah.
Anyway.
Outdoor.
Dental,
but it's real.
It's,
because Pinder had it.
And it is pain free.
You go in twice.
Tightens that thing up and you are sleeping great.
It is worth it.
Find out more at outdoor dot dental.
Dr. J. Patel,
just a great guy.
And I would bet he's upset as I would think he's not a boiler guy.
So he would,
this would be one of those days too,
I think for a lot of people that,
uh,
aren't lovers of the oil
or maybe sharing our concerns.
It's one game.
It's one game.
One game.
Move on.
It's one game.
That's the shitty part.
There's only one game last night.
There's nothing else to talk about, though.
I think that, what did I say?
Eight straight days of hockey.
We're guaranteed at least eight straight,
starting with the Florida game.
two nights ago because they'll do the, you know, this sort of thing.
But then you're trying to get up a couple days there with no hockey.
I don't know how to feel about it because the thing that the oilers do is they bring out
emotion in you.
I was sitting there last night.
I almost felt I wish I was, I wish I didn't have an investment here.
I wish I could just because that Dallas, Colorado overtime, hey, this is great.
Oh, they're going to double overtime.
Awesome.
Oh, I can't believe no goal.
That's crazy.
I wonder what will happen now.
I'm going to sit here and watch.
This is,
this is quite something.
But then when you're sitting there,
it's like,
oh,
God.
Pit your stomach.
Oh,
he's on the ice again.
Yeah,
look,
yeah,
he's going to do it.
He's going to stick it
right in their keister.
Yeah,
it's funny.
You brought that up
because you knew it was,
this is what great players do.
It's poetic justice.
A hubby,
doby,
love it.
Yeah,
all right.
All right.
He's the best.
He's great.
But yeah,
it was pretty obvious.
What did you think of the high stick?
I stuck him.
Yeah, I stuck him.
I was holding my stick.
You got your stick up and you clipped them in the jib.
It's, I just couldn't.
I'm not sure why he was hard to argue.
He was emphatic.
He was emphatic.
Wrong.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What the.
I was like, have a little.
I was like, have a little.
You're a little too.
There.
Yeah.
That's a.
I don't.
I'm not sure he's holding your stick.
He's got a stick.
Dushain has a stick.
And it's in the general region,
but he,
he clipped them.
How didn't they score on a four-minute man advantage?
That just reminded me.
Is that not similar to what happened with Gretzky?
Oh, yeah, Gretzky and Gilmore.
Yes.
When Gretzky stuck Gilmore in the mouth back in 93,
That's right. Except there was no penalty, I believe, on that call.
There was no call. And that was honestly, no, again, no vested. I was wondering if they
wouldn't call it against him because they even reviewed it. Okay, so he's bleeding. They had to
review it, though, I think. Yeah, they had to review it. The linesmen were making a call. Anyway,
or whatever that is, if they do four minutes, it's an automatic, anyway.
The rules right.
Score Dallas.
Put the puck in the GD net, guys.
Let's do the Pinder report with O Pinder today.
It's a presentation of Village Honda.
The Civic continues to lead the way in value, reliability, performance.
It's the 2024, Civic 10 out of 10.
Car and Driver magazine's comprehensive vehicle testing,
the Civic Type R, Civic S.I, rank number one and number two,
respectively in the Sport Compact category.
I guess when
Ryan Pinda
Ryan Pinda
Whatever it is
That's time for the Pender report
There was a hockey game last night
I don't really want to talk any more about it
What can we tell you
All three Euler goals come five on five
The penalty kill goes
Five for five
They've now killed off
20 consecutive power plays
dating back to game three against the Canucks
They're at a 20
Sorry at 92.5% clip
which if you can maintain it,
only three teams have ever done it
to have a penalty kill rolling like that.
Only one goal scorer for the stars.
It is Tyler Sagan, the second goal.
A fortunate bounce, he bangs it into an empty net.
Skinner, as we've talked about,
was quite good as he makes 31 saves.
Evan Bouchard, Dynamite again.
The guys, their guys were their guys.
As you can see there.
McDavid, Hyman, dry sidel.
Eugene Hopkins, Bouchard.
Weird that.
Hyman has two points, but one, yeah, one assist and two points.
I'll be honest, Red, I don't know who makes these boards.
Gotcha.
But every day there's something wrong with.
Okay, so don't look too close.
Yeah, don't look too close.
A couple days ago, when Tampa had acquired, Ryan McDonough acquired,
was not spelled anywhere like it usually is.
There was a game in that series last round where the Canucks won three to two,
but the board had the Oilers winning three to two.
I don't, I,
Details, details, details.
We've talked enough about it.
I'm sick to my stomach.
They will play again coming up tomorrow in Dallas.
Oilers already feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good, grabbing a split-headed home.
Is there anything else you wanted to?
Is there any,
uh,
you being a former player?
Was there any kind of observations,
any kind of special?
Uh,
I'm dumping Jack for Ben.
I like Ben.
He's,
he's a mean bastard.
He's very manly and he goes out there and dominates.
Sorry, Jack,
it ain't happening.
It's a bit of a softy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a good line.
It's a,
that Johnston Ben Stankoven line.
That's stankovin.
That's going to, that's he's, he's not going anywhere, hey?
He's one of those guys made the NHL.
I'm just going to stay around.
I just,
you guys don't mind if I stick around here, do you?
There'll be some, some forward.
I prefer if you'd go back to where is it, Utah,
or where does it, where does their farm team play?
He's not going back.
He's there to stay.
Florida Rangers, game two this Eve.
The Rangers trail in a series for the first time this postseason,
if you can believe it.
they're looking for positives.
They're looking for some way,
because I think not that they were outclassed
or whatever, it was kind of a one goal game
and then they put one into the own net
and then an empty netter,
but it felt like Florida was really ready
for game one. The Rangers not so much.
Positive shots were 27, 24.
Shot attempts, 65, 63, very close.
Rangers hit two goalposts.
Neither team on the power play.
They're doing things.
the one Messier talked about it on the broadcast
and it's been brought up with the physicality
you got Bennett and Kachah you got them doing
do you bring in Matt Rampay to just kind of
if if not get the Panthers heads on a bit of a swivel
but maybe to bring your bench give your bench a bit of a jolt
I was shocked that he didn't start game one to be honest
because you knew that's one of the calling cards of the Panthers
is to go out and be physical I don't know
I don't understand though.
Like, so take the Panthers,
who are a very, very good team.
Finals last year, semi-finals now.
They've got a system.
They don't house a lineup based on what other teams are doing.
They go play their style of game.
I've never found,
do you know what I mean?
So now you're going to bring in the big gun?
Yeah.
Does that stop Lomburg or Bennett from doing what they're doing?
And that's fine.
maybe that's not the point of it,
but if Rempe was going to be impactful
because he was going to run the Florida defenseman,
why in the F didn't you have them in there to start?
Yeah.
So you either have an effing game plan
or you're letting the other team dictate your game plan,
which is exactly opposite of how you win hockey.
Yeah, I mean, you're bang on about Florida.
They're not changing their script.
And they don't give a shit if Rempe's play.
Yeah, we're the Florida.
Oh, you're a big tall guy, eh?
And you'll find, oh.
And like Bennett's not fighting them.
Longberg's not fighting them.
No one's fighting.
They're going to play.
So and I'm not against Renpe going in.
I just.
This nuclear detriment like.
Yeah.
He either should be in the lineup or he shouldn't.
Is he good enough and does he make your team better or does he not?
Because it's not an answer to what the Panthers are doing.
No.
No.
And beyond,
I'm just trying to think back over the,
over the couple of Siri.
You've got Truba.
I don't,
I don't view the Rangers
as being a high skill only type of a team.
I think there's some.
Cooley,
will.
They can hold their own.
So,
uh,
that said,
should be a good one.
Now the Panthers are five and one on the road this postseason already.
They were eight and four last year on route to the cup final.
So they're,
they're just fine.
Where do you want to play?
You tell us where and when we'll show up.
We'll be,
uh,
we'll be fine.
And it's exactly what I just said.
Yeah.
They're going to play their style.
Yeah.
home, whatever.
We are who we are.
And so many teams, and maybe there's one of them that plays here from time to time at the dome.
What's our identity?
What does it mean when you play the flames, what does it mean?
You know exactly what it means when you play the Panthers.
Yeah, you know exactly what it is.
They've got a little bit of everything.
They'll hit you.
They'll mix it up.
They'll score the power play.
They got a 50 goal guy.
They can do it just about the goalie.
The goalie's frigging great.
the goalie is frigging great
and I know not to throw Pinder
under the bus but he loves bringing up the 10 million
and they drafted Spencer night
and it's all this backpack thing with him
forever and ever
but at some point you have to look at what
Bobrovsky has done for them
and I say well
finals semi-finals
it's a good signing
that's yeah
you're going to pay goalie's money
they are voodoo
but if they argue you do this with Pinder
to the
yeah but if their game
elevates in the post season.
And yes, is it two years out of 10?
Or whatever, two years out of age or whatever I guess the contract was.
So what?
Like if you look at McDavid, 12 and a half, well, have they gone to the finals?
Like, what's success?
And ask Colorado and ask Carolina and ask these other teams that had 800 save
percentage goaltending.
If they'd maybe like a guy like Bobrovsky, is he worth maybe an extra two, three
million a year on top of what you're paying your guy or whatever, four million,
I think.
It is hard to determine because the voodoo thing or whatever,
goaltender, except if you have it.
And that's everyone's statement.
Yeah.
You don't need goaltending until you don't have it.
I forget how they say it, but it's,
we saw it here.
I remember just watching various goaltenders trot out to the crease after Kippa was done.
It's like,
we never even thought about goaltending.
You knew who was starting.
You didn't worry about it.
You knew goaltending wasn't going to cost you the game.
A couple times a month, there might be a goal he'd like back.
But outside of that you don't even think about goaltending.
And then you don't have it.
It's like, Jesus, what?
Who's, is there anybody in the A?
Who's on waivers this week?
Is there anybody?
God.
So, yeah, good stuff.
Now, I, uh, Vancouver, their season came to an end retro.
And, uh, they had a little, uh, the locker cleanout day.
I know you like the media.
The media interaction is.
Great questions always, probably from the media.
But we'll get into some of that.
But our buddy, Nikita Zedorov, he's a character, regardless of what you think of him on the ice.
The guy's got a personality, the guy's got confidence, he's got an ego, he's an interesting interview,
and he was asked about his time in Vancouver, and just, did you enjoy it?
Is there a chance maybe you're going to stick around kind of a thing, was the gist as Zadurav got into it?
well like I saw hockey in Canada is different I can compare it to Calgary but I feel like
Vancouver fan base is way bigger Calgary's not even the number one team in Alberia so it's
kind of like I mean it it's obvious there's more Edmonton fans because they have a bigger
history through the years right so a lot of a lot of people pluck the Calgary's not even
the top team in the province and then he you know to he's
made his point. Well, it's because the oilers won a lot. But, uh, you know, it's, uh, it's still
there. It's click bait. It is click bait. And I clicked because I'm like, oh, you must have, and then I read it.
I'm like, why there's see. I don't think anything. If you listen to what he said, and he's true.
Oh, geez. I don't care. I like it. I like somebody that'll say something.
And he didn't even, right. He did say something. He said the truth.
Yeah, and when you say it, you think,
oh, he must have said something.
He's taking a shot.
No, he said the truth.
No, one team's got one.
Bigger, he's got five.
Yeah.
So, yeah, it's, uh, and he's not wrong.
He's not wrong.
Um, now Phil, Philip,
Hironic was brought in.
They traded a first round pick, brought in Hronic.
Now I was looking out, because I was going through something in the regular season for a good
chunk of it.
Right around Christmas, New Year's this guy.
He was in on offense.
He was, he was doing great things.
And then things started to go a little bit sideways.
And then he had a poor playoff, a poor playoff, to be sure.
And here was his interaction.
I guess, I don't know.
I don't follow Vancouver Media, but I guess he's prickly with the media.
It doesn't talk to the media.
Media doesn't talk to him.
It's not a great relationship between the two.
And it came to a head yesterday.
Were you playing through an injury?
No.
We gave you your space all year.
we're just trying to ask a few questions at this stage and well what do you want me to say
i just i was curious about where the production what do you want me what do you want me to say on
like on injury if i didn't have injury what you want me to say i said no
after you looked at him like he's an asshole yeah it's so awkward because yeah so
kind of two seasons your offense it really kind of went down was there what's your thought
on it he's like well if i knew i would have done something about it yeah so don't
skinny thing.
And I've, there are dumb interview questions.
And how do you feel after is to be worse?
How do you feel?
Well, if we won, I feel great.
Yeah.
We lost.
I don't feel great.
Even if I say I feel great, what does that mean to the listener?
Yeah.
So unless a guy has a really insightful depiction of what it means to him at that
moment, which 99.9% of the time never happens.
And it's always the question that is asked.
It's, it's just a stupid question.
Yeah.
But in this circumstance, it's the end of the year.
You've been an ass to the media all year, apparently.
Yeah.
And you're still, what are you proving by acting like a dick?
Yeah.
By continuing to be standoffish.
Staring at them like, and then pretending you answered them.
You didn't effing answer.
them. Yeah. You step down and then. And there's plenty on both sides. Some are,
oh, you got a stupid question, the media, this and that. I don't know. I just, I like awkward.
I love curb your enthusiasm. I love the office. Give me cringe. Give me awkward cringe. Can I like,
like, Pedersen had that interview where he was terrible last week. Yeah. And now this.
Like, is there like what is the media such a circus in Van,
cover and head hunting that these guys can't talk and for me it's again these caught myself
I don't want to do push-ups.
These guys in today's world are so protected they can't even answer fucking question.
Yeah.
They can't and they treat.
I don't like doing interviews all the time either, but I don't think the level of disrespect was the same.
And I don't think you had the teams and the.
media guys protecting guys constantly.
It's like go answer the questions.
You just lost.
And these guys scurry away because they don't want to talk about it.
You know, even Marks from it.
I don't, oh, he doesn't like to.
What are we talking about?
Yeah.
So in no point in life,
you can deal with adversity or question or part of what comes.
with this job?
Who the F for you, Philip Heronic,
that you can't answer a question?
And I get it sometimes.
I mean, the whole role of the media
is to convey the message
of the players of the game to the fans.
So the fans aren't going to be able to go and hear
and ask questions.
I wonder what my favorite player thought.
I wonder what the guys in my favorite team.
I want to hear this sort of thing.
I'm a ticket buyer.
Now, some media guys,
it becomes a very personal thing.
For sure.
But it's all been long.
lost it's all been lost over the course of time and i and you're right there's enough and it's
probably one of those things where five percent of the media screws it up for the rest of the
media because they they want to do cheap shots and clickbait bullshit yeah and then then the guys
are like eff you then i'm not doing it but the teams like and i know this because i'll act hey
can i bring my kid down to get an interview that's yeah yeah
and that tomorrow's practice day.
Yeah, yeah.
Golly can't talk on game.
Yeah.
Hey, boy,
don't step there because.
Yeah.
What?
So at 10.
at 10.45 a.m.
The goalie can't talk about the game at 7 o'clock that night.
Like,
okay.
Okay.
Fair enough.
It's true, though.
It's true.
It's a sad state.
And it might be a.
societal thing. I have no idea, but it, I just think that, and I don't know the
ironic media story in Vancouver, but it just comes across as these guys are just
babyed along to the nth degree. Yeah. And it's painful to watch.
Now, you mentioned the Pedersen from last week. There was not good body language. It
did not, it didn't come off
well. He seemed as a guy who was
defeated. He was very deflated,
very down, and
it continued yesterday when he was asked
about the season being over
and now heading into the offseason.
It will be nice to get a break
from everything. It's been a
very
noisy season in terms of
contract and
yeah, how
shit I've been the last three months.
you guys said
so
it'll be nice to you guys
get a break from that
it will be nice
it'll be real nice
because I've got 50 fucking million dollars
and I'm going to be on a yacht
in the Riviera
drinking fucking with my
yeah
shoot him to the moon
holy
that's been so hard
contract
talks you're talking about a guy
offering you 10
of millions of dollars.
Man, this is, whof.
How, Dean, Dean,
how are you going to get through the day?
I don't know.
They called you again with another contract offer.
Yeah, they want to know how many million you want.
Yes, Dean.
How, how many million would you like?
11?
Okay, here's 11.
You, you're making, right now, you're making just north.
7.35 million.
we want to give you about five million more.
Is that enough?
Guys.
Oh, God.
I just can't wait to have a break.
I need a break from all this.
I need a break.
I need a break.
I need a break thing.
If that's me a question again.
Yeah.
If only we could all have these issues in life to deal with.
Now, we're making fun.
Maybe there's some stuff going on.
I don't give a shit.
But it's
it's really not a great look.
It's not about,
it isn't about money,
but it is about money.
And if they can't have the respect
for everyone else in the world
to recognize,
oh,
this is my fucking privilege.
And the greatest thing that's like,
I'm living the dream of all dreams.
And it's too much for them.
And maybe,
and I don't know.
You need to start a new league.
I guess.
You could be the commission.
I wonder to, because at the start of every year, there's always, you sit down with the
players, or at least the younger guys, and how do you handle the media and internet and
Twitter and all this sort of thing?
Act like a spoiled brat.
Yeah.
Like I wonder if it would be, we are in the top 0.001% of the world.
We're so blessed.
And there's going to be trials and tribulations is going to be issues.
The common person isn't going to be able to relate to your issues.
so when you complain
it's going to make you look
relating to your issues
your teammates are looking at you like you're a jackass
you're supposed to be the guy
why wasn't his answer
I'm pissed we're still not playing
this is a joke I let the team
and the city down
yeah I'm going to be better next year
that's a fucking answer
yeah he did he did say
he'd been playing like shit so
that's
as a
I haven't played well
so I need the break
but again it was
there's a bit of tone there
how about yeah
I'm just so ready for a break
I'm just really ready
for a break
yeah really ready
no it's I would
watching that and hearing
what Frank said on Monday
I would be extremely concerned
about what the Vancouver
Canucks have signed up for
yeah
uh now this was
reported yesterday
it has thus been confirmed
this morning. Don Waddell is no longer the general manager of the Carolina Hurricanes.
His contract was up, is up. And essentially, rather than strike up a new contract, now Pierre
LeBron was reporting, he's been given the green light. If you want to go out and interview
for some other jobs, go ahead. Don Waddell, permission to speak with other teams. Hurricanes
believe it's already had discussions about a new GM because they,
they expect his eventual departure.
Whether it's money, whether it's 10, whatever it is.
Also, Elliot reporting that he, of course,
Waddell, has already spoken to Columbus about their GM position,
which is open after the Yarmal Kekalainen firing.
So the end of an era there in Carolina.
And I'm curious what happens there.
They have, we talked about their UFAs and the decisions that have to be made.
It comes, he's not fired.
It's just the contract is up.
They're keeping Rod the bod.
He signed on long term.
What will the GM?
Who will it be?
That's going to be an interesting hire because I think sitting in our seats that working for, you know,
working for that owner is a different ball game too.
A little bit.
Yeah, a little bit.
To the world hockey championships, Canada, another win.
They defeated Slovakia 6 to 3.
I don't want to give them attention.
If they're going to freak out every time that there's a clip showed of their
I-I-H-F and a yeah they don't like that.
Nick Paul had two goals we can't show you.
They move on to the semifinal Saturday against Switzerland,
a game that we can't really shouldn't talk about.
Can't tell you to watch.
Yeah, can't tell you about it.
Now it's unfortunate now Pinder is he's on getting on a plane.
Remember Lionel Messi, there was a chance he might come to Calgary.
If the cavalry won some sort of, you know, some games and if this happens and then if
the moon is in the right or.
orbit and all that sort of thing.
Willan and the Creek door.
Lionel Messi,
well, not coming to Calgary.
Instead,
his team,
Miami CF or FC or whatever the hell it is,
going to Vancouver instead.
However,
Lionel Messi will not be playing at BC Place this weekend,
nor will Luis Suarez,
his teammate.
The Vancouver White Caps
confirmed the disappointing news.
Fans have shelled out hundreds of dollars
for tickets to see Messi play,
nearly sold out B.C.
plays for Saturday's game,
54,000 in attendance.
And it doesn't even,
I don't even know if they're flying in to
be around, let alone play.
So it's, uh,
sad, you know, soccer fans.
It makes you feel very insignificant.
Sure does. Yeah. However, the white caps
have announced all in stadium food
and beverages will be 50%
off.
And children 18 and under
will be provided one free kids meal
combo that's classy it is i wonder if the messy's playing for some of that or the they're his
squad i'm sure yeah i feel i'm really concerned about some hot dogs for the kids oh well
tough couple days for vancouver tough couple days uh time to some dumb shit i guess is how this
uh goes from here uh dolphins now again pinder makes fun oh you know boomer you don't want to sit in the toilet
because the snakes could come up. That's not how it works. The snakes don't come up through the toilet.
Let's go to Miami. Linebacker for the dolphins, Jalen Phillips, walked into his bathroom and saw this.
Man, this is a Florida shit if I ever seen it.
But how the hell did he get in there? That man is bathing in my toilet.
And he's not a pet. I don't know where he came from. It's a grown man.
iguana in the toilet.
now I'm guessing who is this uh dolphins linebacker jalen Phillips so big boy yeah manly man
kind of appearance i would think yeah how does he deal with this does he call uh you know what
i mean yeah calling someone i don't know what i do that's what i'm saying i'm probably calling
somebody you're gonna spend a hundred bucks to get this thing dealt with if anything i'm calling you
to say what should I do.
I'm probably making a phone call for sure.
Do you have the steak tweezers?
Just,
I've got a,
I got an iguana in my toilet.
Oh, did you shit it out?
No, I didn't shit it out.
I don't know where it came from.
Don't know where it came from.
But yeah, if you live down there,
you'd probably have some apparatus like that, right?
Some kind of squeezy tool.
Yeah, the hand extender.
Yeah.
You like the Wheel of Fortune, big fans?
I just watched this.
It's good stuff. Let's take a look.
It's a phrase and off we go.
Tavares.
Right in the butt?
No.
Blake.
This is the best.
Yeah, that's it, I think, yeah.
Much better answer.
Blake gets $1,000.
How you doing?
Tavares, you've already made an impression on us.
I apologize, but I was a little excited.
No, we'll figure out a way to handle that tastefully.
I have no idea what that will be.
rat in the butt
what
R-I-T-E
in the butt
it was there
it was there
now I know you're a big fan
of Z-Z-TOP
always
you and your family
they spin the guitar
yeah that's right
now I'm not sure which uncle
of yours
this is
but who is it
Darrell
here's Uncle Darrell
I don't even know how to set it up
There's so much there
There's so much there
Yeah you gotta whip it up
Sure
This is not the first time he's done this
He's paid for a he's got lights
the microphone, the clothes, the mullet, the mustache, the feathered mullet, not just, right?
It's, um, now I feel like this, it's kind of a lift in there, too.
His timing is off.
It's terrible, but you just keep watching.
He feels it, though.
It's terrible, and you keep watching.
One of those train wreck kind of things.
I'd like to tell you I've not seen that guy before in my life, but I've seen that guy.
plenty back in the day you'd be playing music at the north 40 bar on saturday night oh yeah that guy's

late big kind of embarrassed kind of embarrassing oh no oh no so what were the challenges there for uh for that
young lady like once oh she got like halfway up on the first step
Are she wearing heels?
I think so.
And then she did.
Oh,
the knee gave home.
I'm going to skip the first step and go right to the second.
That damn wicker chair isn't bolted down.
Oh,
oh no.
And then and then the kicking, the flailing.
Stuck.
A little turtle on the back.
Yeah, pretty good.
And this one is drunk pender.
You know how he loves a campfire.
It does.
Yeah, get sleepy, though.
Didn't put the lawnmower away.
What is that? Is it spruce or pine?
Which one pops?
I don't know, but I'm going to tell you a story.
Me and Derr, we're sitting there on a campfire at the lake in Calgary.
And it was our last drink.
And across the way Turchak lives, and he had a campfire going.
And we threw the dregs of our drink into the fire pit.
and it was it's one of the dome ones and I closed the so I opened it through the ice cubes in the end of the drink closed the thing walking by and a cannon went off and I'm not I'm not the shoveler was in bed it was three in the morning yeah she jumped out of bed was screaming out the window within sec what the F is going like this sounded like a bazooka or literally
a tank had shot a weapon.
Yeah.
It was as loud as anything.
And we're like, what in the...
Yeah.
You know the metal scotch ice cubes?
Have you ever seen these things?
Uh-huh, yeah.
So we were drinking scotch, and we'd had one of those in there,
so it had pressured up.
And, cablamo, wow.
Because you don't want to dilute your scotch.
No, exactly.
Can't have that.
It was...
And luckily, I think probably that we'd close the grate,
because if that thing explodes and comes shooting out, it's a bullet.
Yeah.
Taking that in the forehead and you're done.
Anyway.
What a story.
Tees and peace.
Tees and peas.
So don't through those metal scotch cubes in the...

People are very disappointed.
There's a lot of bitching.
People are very upset in the chat.
That it's not the same without Pinder.
There's only so much time in a day to find highlights and different things.
So there's no barfing.
There's no snakes, no alligators.
But stay tuned.
So that's, and he's gone next week too.
So hiatus.
You may just want to take the week off from the show.
you may just want to take it to take the week off.
I want to tell you about this one.
Speaking of, you know, you saw that guy with the mullet and stuff.

Great clips.
It's going to be great.
Let's go inside.
Let's see what's happening here.
Pinder isn't here.
Sean wanted to know how hungover he was.
Did you get a, I didn't get the sense that there was any.
I don't either.
I don't know if the flat tire,
but he didn't know about the flat till the next day,
because he had the warning.
And the light was on.
He should have filled it.
But,
but.
Yeah.
And how low did it have to be to?
Well,
Sean is,
now again,
I don't know if Sean,
does it work for Cal tire?
I'm not sure.
He says,
any donut spare tire I have seen has a 50 mile per hour limit,
not kilometers.
So you could do about 80 kilometers.
I always thought it was 80.
Yeah.
he's a dope
now I get his
there's some reasoning
where he didn't think
he'd make it in time
and that's fine
yeah
but if his if his reasoning was
I didn't think I could make it safely
yeah
I think
I mean
he had somebody come with a jack
to jack the car
and
he can see you
he's a sweet boy
but
There's certain things that, I guess, play to your strengths.
Play to your strengths.
This is from Scott.
What the deuce is up with Tim Nacky, Tim the Kiwi.
Am I mistaken?
Or did he just quit on a losing streak?
Quit.
He went from Hero to zero in my books.
Chase that loss, you degenerate.
Oh, and the Oilers really suck.
Yeah, I mean, maybe.
Maybe, I don't know if that makes you a degenerate or if that's,
because that's probably what I, yeah, you'd just chase it.
I would have manifested the millie and been done.
Yeah.
Oh,
I somehow bet blackjack and made a million dollars.
Yeah, that's good.
I'm done.
You'll never hear from me again.
And I don't care if I'm a zero in your books because you didn't know who I was before.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I see and again, it's, I think he is trying stuff.
He's back on.
It won't work.
It won't work.
It doesn't work.
You had your, you had your time to shine.
It's over.
It's fine.
It was good while it lasted.
Really good.
You know,
when Seinfeld went off the air,
everybody wanted more Seinfeld.
No,
no,
we're done.
We're done.
It's okay.
It's okay to just,
you know,
it's kind of like this thing,
right?
It was good enough for a while.
Now we really should have just stopped.
Yeah.
Dying on the vine.
Yeah.
That's how that goes.
Dying on the vine.
I don't know if we did this one.
Hey, Boom, love the show,
especially the great clips inboxes from Tyler.
Quick question,
should we put the bird in the air?
I think we brought that up again,
and now everybody wants the bird in the air.
I don't think we can do the bird in the air.
Jack, do you think we could put the bird in the air?
Because that was always the thing,
but I think Jack know how to put the bird in the air?
I don't know, probably figured out.
What are we talking about here?
Put the bird in there.
Thanks, Jack.
There we go.
See, that's one of those things.
We probably should have,
Team meeting.
Team meeting.
Team meeting.
Great clips inbox.
Hey fellas, I have a conundrum.
I hate those.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah.
Number one, hate the Oilers,
can't cheer for the Oilers.
Number two,
Chuckie and Bennett,
both left,
can't cheer for them.
Don't like Dallas and don't like the Rangers.
Now what?
Don't like and don't like
a real easy picks to like
over people.
that you dislike.
Yeah.
Or you know what I mean?
Have an actual.
It's,
that's not a conundrum.
Fox spurned the flames.
So maybe you don't like the Rangers.
And you got the guys in Florida,
so there's that.
And you don't like the Oilers.
Big D.
Dallas,
I guess.
What's,
what's Dallas done to you?
I mean,
they did,
you know,
you beat them two years ago or whatever it was in game seven.
Doesn't done anything to you.
you. Dallas. Dallas, dude. It's easy. Easy. Easy. Easy. Easy. And the last one here. Retro. I have a great barbecue in the backyard. Love it. Use it a lot. But now I'm being intrigued by the Blackstone griddle. Should I be a gridler or a smoker if I add to the backyard cooking situation?
So you've got your Trager
And you've got your Blackstone
The Gridler
Completely different
They are
What would you use more?
Griddle
I'm not
And part of it's because I don't
I like smokers
But I don't like heavy smoke flavoring
Gotcha
Right
I like open flame
And the Burkett type deal
This and that
But I don't like
I don't actually like
The
real heavy, smoky flavor
to my meats.
Yeah.
The griddler, the griddle.
It's good.
I would say I'm not good at it.
Interesting.
Does that make sense?
But don't smash burgers and all that you can make.
Right.
Right.
But you don't have to have a,
You don't need the griddler, no.
No.
Because I was thinking it's funny this came up.
Would I use it for bacon, eggs, pancakes on the weekend?
Maybe.
Your hash browns.
Would you use it for like your stir fries?
Like do you do a Japanese village, right?
Where you get your bed and your steak and your stuff like that.
Would you maybe do a little Philly cheese steak out there?
Absolutely could do a chopped steak sub.
Yep.
Okay, let's go.
You buy one, I buy one this weekend, get it done.
No, I got one at the in-laws.
Oh, I see.
Yeah.
And you're, and you're there, are you staying there or are you moving or?
Because if, I mean, if you're leaving, you're not going to go buy a bread.
Oh, stay in brittle.
Oh, yeah.
No.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, it's what is how about, when do, I can't decide now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
May 24th.
Hard to know.
And this one here, it just came in.
I think Noah was watching the emailed in.
Fellas, am I considered a trader for buying a Kachuk, Florida jersey?
I don't think so.
I don't know how to feel about it because you still like the way he plays and I still dig him.
And I like Florida.
And I like how Florida plays.
Yeah.
It hurts, uh, hurts hurts, hurts in my heart.
What could have been?
You watch Benny flying around being a jerk.
You watch Kachuk doing what he's doing.
Chuck Goddrow Bennett playing the way he's supposed to bring Tanniv back here,
even Big Z, and put that team up,
and Lindholm and put that team up against the Oilers,
and let's have a, let's, I don't know if we win, but boy.
Yeah, different.
Yeah, different for sure.
Sad times.
Although we had most of that.
I think they had most of those guys.
Yeah, they were here.
Um, great way to end it.
Thanks for the, thanks for that email, though.
Wait, I mean, we're talking about grid.
What was the series?
What's that?
The problem in that series where we had everyone and it didn't go well against
Edmondon.
Yeah.
Poor Marky.
Yeah.
It's just too much.
You know what I mean?
Like we've talked about with all these guys.
So much pressure.
I should.
Oh.
Yeah.
Goodness me.
Yeah.
Everyone's going to, all these shots.
Everyone just expects me to stop all of them.
I was supposed to stop everything.
All of them?
how about I

Just thought of a great idea.
Yeah.
You know how Conroy and Trilliving since we've been doing this have listened to us?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think we expand this.
Okay.
We might have to take it off the air for some.
We can still do this, but we're going to start a GM consulting business.
Consultants make a lot of money for doing not a lot.
And you're not going to get fired by anyone.
No.
Call us?
We'll give you our two cents.
We're unbiased opinions, and we're always right.
And you could just, well, I don't really know if I agree or I don't know if I like your, you're not supposed to like it.
Yeah.
You just, you just want improvement.
Sometimes improvement is hard.
Sometimes it's the things that you least want to do that will have the most impact.
Let us make those decisions and help.
Yeah.
Spurn you on to Stanley Cup startup.
Like, right, Conroy and again, let's get arguing.
and one wants one thing, one wants the other.
Who are you going to call?
Who are you going to call?
That's right.
Us.
That's right.
Well, I know my experience in my days in radio,
and you would remember whenever we had consultants come in,
they were full of great ideas.
Really?
Yeah.
They really, really were in tune.
Live in Phoenix, fly in, listen to one show,
meet with us the next day.
Here's what you guys need to do.
You guys are doing a great job.
Maybe you could think about this.
Yeah.
We do that on Thursday.
Yeah.
Okay, that's great.
Yeah, because I got here yesterday and listened to the show.
So if I were here on Thursday, yeah.
Have you thought about doing more college hoops?
No, haven't.
Mix some in.
People would enjoy that.
Villanova.
People I think in Calgary are really going to enjoy Villanova.
Colgate.
Okay, Villanova.
Got it.
Thanks.

I feel like he's in the mix.
I feel like he's kind of.
all over. You get three shots or more from Sam plus 115.
And the first goal score of the night, going for a little bigger one here.
Barkov is more of a passer, but hell of a player. A plus 1,000.
1,000. I love that.
1,000 for Barkov. He's going to be on the ice a fair bit. There's a good chance he gets the
first one. We'll roll the dice on it. Those are the Betway bets of the day.
Is that one word?
It's not. Oh, but I mean, I wasn't going to nitpick.
Jack.
Jack, how are you doing, buddy?
Good.
It's not one word?
No, you're a goal scorer.
It'd be, you know, it's all good.
How are you?
Not, you know, away from the English language.
I'm doing well.
Good.
What are your plans for the weekend?
I don't know.
I think we're going to go see a movie tonight.
Really? What are you going to go see?
Hmm.
Maybe the plan.
Planet of the Apes or
I wanted to see that Civil War
movie but Rhett said it was the shit so
Don't waste your time
I would like to go and see
Fall Guy. I heard that one's good
I would go see Fall Guy
I took my daughter to see that
if last weekend
Not really for me
I guess you know but it was all right
There's another new one out
I'll say this though
It was good to get back to the theater
really enjoyed it.
They're fun to go to.
Sitting in the comfy chairs, big bag of corn, feed up.
Life's good.
What do we got?
More rain?
It has rained.
It feels like it's rained every day for about two weeks.
I don't know that it's going to rain today, but I don't know.
All I know is I basically I need to, that new lawnmower that I bought and haven't used,
I may as well just take it, but I need goats or a combine now because the grass has just
been growing and growing and growing.
It's not ideal.
Not ideal.
I really want to
griddle or.
Go get one.
I feel like I do a lot of griddling.
You could griddle.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Okay.
Smash burgers.
Right?
We do them on the,
on the barbecue all the time.
You don't need to do them on the barbecue.
Less flare-ups, I would think,
probably on the grid.
A flash-ups, and I actually,
a smash burger is hard to
beat. Yeah. Yeah.
Fry up some onions. A little spicy mayo on there. Oh.
Custer brioche bun. Oh, got a little. Oh, don't forget lettuce.
Lettuce. Chop lettuce. On the griddle? Or on the side? Like, you're not putting it on the
griddle. No, no, no, no. But when you're saying, yeah, I'm going to do the onions. Okay. Now,
I'm going to put those over to the corner, over to the cold.
pun. I'm going to do this here. I'll get the buns. What a weekend I'm going to have.
What a weekend you're in for, Dean. What a weekend I'm in for. Adam says it's raining right now in
McKenzie Lake. So do you know where McKenzie Lake is? Yeah. I'll be there next week. It's just over,
uh, just over there. Are you coming to town? I am. I had heard a rumor now that you bring it up.
I don't know what for. Yeah. Although I randomly checked flight prices and found a good price.
And I actually booked it because I'm like,
I got nothing going on.
Yeah, yeah.
Things I could deal with.
Yeah.
Check the next day because my kids heard I was.
Yeah.
So they were like, can we come?
Maybe all come.
Yeah, more than doubled overnight.
Well, that makes sense.
9.30.
Yeah.
That makes perfect sense.
For sure, it would.
Because, of course, it would.
Yeah.
Way further on Wednesday.
