And a hearty bonjour.
Welcome to the pod on a Tuesday.
It is Barnburner.
It is Boomer Pinder Warner.
A bonjourno.
No, no, no.
It was a Spanish test today.
Spanish?
Spanish.
Buenos days, Amigo.
So, uh, megos.
Buenos noches.
What's that one I say all the time?
Muncho.
Munchacho.
Munchacho.
Which isn't, I don't know if that's Spanish.
I'm not sure.
It's Redlish.
It's Italian Spanish.
Warneries.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, we're in it.
A little bit later on, Jamie McClennan,
going to join us, our buddy,
Noodles, who was incorrect yesterday.
Oh.
You're the end of the program.
Sent him a text.
Said, hey, Noodles, you're pretty smart guy.
You've been bang on.
Dutuz Stradamus, didn't you call him?
Nudels Stradamus.
We've gone to him in the Dallas series.
Hey, noodles, what do you think?
I think the Oilers win.
I think the Oilers win.
They would win again.
And yesterday near the end of the show, Noodle Stradamus, who wins tonight?
He said, Edmonton.
Incorrect.
Now, they had a 1-0-0 lead.
Is that the same as winning?
What did I say?
I don't remember what you said.
What did you say?
I said the Florida Panthers will dominate.
Did you?
No hesitation on our side.
Pantarros.
That's what,
they call it a, a masterful performance.
Would you call that for the Florida Panthers last night?
Domination.
It did not allow a high danger scoring chance at five on five.
Against two of the greatest offensive players.
We'll watch in our lives, both playing on the other team.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Pretty good.
And McHood was wheeling early on.
McDude was flying around, yeah.
crank it up.
Yeah.
God, he can skate fast.
Really fast, Dean.
So fast.
Yeah.
Where did he get so fast?
I don't know.
What's going on here?
Rett,
were you teaching him out of skates?
You got to go fast.
Sharp skates.
Got to be sharp skates.
I sharpen my skates.
I don't know if we are sharp.
No?
That's another thing.
Today's world.
Little duller.
Then you don't dig in as much.
Sorry.
Is it a $3?
Is that what you said?
Dollar?
Are you a dullard?
Dullard?
Are you a dullard?
Don't say anything you need it.
Just be a dullard.
Yeah.
4-1-final Florida Panthers take game two lead the series by a count of two games to none.
And what's interesting, you talk about, because I was going to say, hi, I saw somebody say there was one opportunity for the Oilers five-on-five high danger.
And somebody you had said, zero, I'd have seen both.
So it's, you know, I guess depending on what.
I mean, let's average it out and call it half a scoring chance.
Yeah.
Which is, again, who's sitting there and saying that's high danger, that isn't high danger?
I don't know how we necessarily.
They're nerds to do it and they're better out of the last.
You know, whatever.
And also the percentages I've seen 88%, like 90%,
the probability of winning a series,
there's the probability of winning a seven game series,
and then the probability of winning the Stanley Cup final.
Yeah.
When leading two to nothing.
Either way, I'll cut through the gibberish for you.
Yeah.
It's pretty good.
It's pretty good.
You're up to nothing.
You're in a good spot.
So all you have to do is not lose four of the next five.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
I like your chances.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Last team to come back and win a series in the Stanley Cup final.
Down to be down 02.
Boston Bruins, 2011.
Jerks.
Congratulations, Bruins.
They did it to the Canucks too.
It was beautiful.
Yeah.
Oh, it was beautiful.
Yeah.
Game one, it was a lot of oilers.
Lots of shots, lots of scoring chances.
But Brovsky was tremendous.
Sure was.
It was a fliperuny, a spinnerooly last night as the oilers struggled to generate much of anything.
Credit to the Florida Panthers.
And it's weird because we've seen teams that have been able to, we're going to limit you.
Would you call it suffocating?
Because I still felt like it was entertaining hockey.
It didn't feel like it was a slog fest.
Although I guess if maybe you're an oiler fan or you're watching, it maybe felt like they were in mud a little bit.
I don't know.
I was watching it.
I was watching it.
I think it was one one.
And I said to the other people on the couch,
I was like,
it feels like Florida's losing.
I don't know why.
I just had the sense that they weren't putting them away.
Missed opportunity.
Monterey missed in the empty net.
Bennett had a couple amazing opportunities.
Boy,
he's a good player,
but he's never going to score a lot,
hey?
Like, it's just that touch.
It's not natural for him.
That one in tight when he missed the net
by a foot and a half.
And then he walks in on the breakaway and you're like, you know, that's a good save from Skinner.
But still, you're like, yeah, like he might never score 30.
And that's okay.
Yeah.
But that's not what, you know, Central scouting when they put him number one, which is draft.
You're right for me is that I can't win my Con Smyth if he's not putting those in.
It's true because you have that.
You're in a long series and a lot of Benicles.
Yeah.
Evan Rodriguez, two goals.
Former Buffalo Sabred Dean.
Former Sabre, yeah.
Former everything.
Yeah.
It's been ever.
Penguin.
Former Penguino.
Avalanche.
Uh, was it?
Anyway, uh, unlikely, uh, we've not seen much of Kachuk.
We've not seen much of Rinehart.
And on the other side, haven't seen much of, uh, well, we've seen dry sidel, but for different reasons.
Three oiler forwards credited with a shot on goal last night.
Three.
That's wild.
Isn't that crazy?
And I guess five on five or total?
Total.
McDavid had three, dry sidel two, Heim and one.
The rest was Kulak and Ekholm and Bouchard.
Crazy.
That is.
Not a formula you're going to want to write down,
put in your pocket and break out in game three.
Yeah.
So the stick to the script message didn't work.
For who?
If you were an oilers.
Well, they didn't stick to it.
Or a coach.
You were saying...
We're in good shape.
We play the same way we played in game one.
We're fine.
Yeah.
And they didn't, right?
There were a lot of positive wives after game one, right?
Sure.
We feel good.
We're just fine.
How many moral victories do you win the cup?
Is it four or is it five?
I think it's more than four.
I think you need four real victories.
And then maybe one or two morals could be in there.
Yeah, yeah.
They're going to need a real one pretty quick.
If I would say in the next couple of days, if they don't get a real one.
If you were holding on to your game six ticket,
in Edmondson.
Yeah.
You know, if you, if you surrender to game four, three or four for the game six,
because weren't we talking about that with Frank yesterday that, uh, I'm not going to go to
three or four.
Six.
It'd be nice to be there in six when they lift it.
Yeah.
And when they said they lift it.
Yeah, they were talking Panthers or who, uh, I suppose that's.
We can't get cocky here.
Let's not get cocky.
I know.
We got cocky against Dallas.
Can't get cocky.
Well, I were cocky when it was, uh, three, two.
Canucks. I was hung over in Strathmore. We were talking about the rebuild once Leon leaves.
You can't get ahead of yourself, kids. Yeah. Things happen quick.
The game Thursday, right?
Yeah. Oiler power play cannot score. Hasn't scored anyway. I think it can. It just hasn't.
And the penalty kill, which had been perfect for about a month.
Jeez. The last time the Oilers penalty kill allowed a goal was May 12th, game three against the Canucks.
went through the entire Dallas series.
The game one obviously in this year.
And the meat of that Kinnock series too, Dean.
34 straight without allowing a goal.
Impressive for sure.
A good little checklist that Florida's done.
Shut down the offense.
Get rid of that pesky penalty kill streak.
And yeah, we'll just allow one goal in two games.
It didn't look good.
That penalty player, it did look good to penalty kill.
The power play was not too sharp early on.
It said again, my comments to the fellow couchers,
they need to hang on to the puck.
How many people were on the couch?
Oh, lots.
We had a big group.
Yeah, because you've mentioned it now twice
that you were talking to the people on the couch.
Yeah, I was wondering.
There's two others.
A child and a woman.
They were related.
Woman.
Listen to me, woman.
But yeah, the, the Panthers here.
Of course, they have the shutout in game one.
They allow the single last night.
They gave up one to the Rangers, I believe, in the clinching game of last series.
That's a good run.
Dave tight.
And your boy, Bob even let a soft one in.
So really, he hasn't allowed shit.
Yeah, shit burger.
Although I give credit.
That's a, you placed it pretty nicely, even if you weren't aiming in there.
Yeah, whatever.
It's a soft either way, right?
It's a rister from at home.
If you lose the game on that one, you're a little more upset, Bobber would be anyway.
Yeah.
It's the only one you're going to allow in two games.
probably okay with it.
You're all right.
Yeah.
Now is this high danger?
It doesn't feel high danger.
It's four and four, so it's not five on five.
So it probably shows up as an even strength high danger, but not a five on five high danger because it's four and four.
Yeah.
That's probably your discrepancy on the scoring chat high dangers.
Yeah.
I mean, if you put, if you put dry settle into that exact same spot, you're goddamn right.
It's high danger.
Now, are you happy with Eckholm's confidence or are you thinking, slide that over?
I can't really critique what happened.
No, you can't.
It's a terrible, terrible choice.
Yeah.
Like you can definitely try to make a pass and it doesn't get through.
But you're right, it is the German on the other side.
I like it.
No, I'm serious.
And if you're at home, God bless him.
You've got to have the confidence to make the shot.
I don't, again, I think of the playoffs.
He's been good.
But you know what he's thinking too, maybe, Rhett?
If I get a rebound, it might go right to as the German.
He did go low.
If this goes off of Bobber's pads, it might be.
I can just tell you what I'd have been doing if,
egg was coming down the other side and it was probably not put one a muffin on that yeah that's fair
no at home had said i've been to the finals guys i was there with nashville when we lost to the penguins
the key is we can't wait too long in the series to get started because you just run out of runway and it's
too late get on my back he gave him the pep talk yeah no one was listening although i mean game one
they were good they're right they just they were pretty good and you're right they just they were pretty good
game one in all. Yeah. And so, you know,
the better goalie was the better goalie in game one.
Yeah. You knew Bob's the better goalie.
Everyone in the world could tell you that.
Last four periods, though,
roughly, it's been a lot of Florida.
Yep. And if you want to stretch back to game 60,
you know, against Dallas, that's two of the last three for the
Oilers where they have not been able to create
anything at even strength. Yeah.
Fatique?
Here's Elliot Freeman talked about it yesterday.
It's a, it's the war of attrition.
It was a, there was some, some damage, some heavy, heavy damage sustained on, really for both sides last night.
You saw Ekblad get tangled up with McDavid in behind the net.
And those two are their buddies.
Those two are buddies going way back.
Fell down, kind of fell on his ankle, that sort of thing.
We saw a couple knee on knee hits, Lost Drainon goes down with Fogel.
We'll talk about that.
but certainly it feels like it's more so on the oiler side.
Already we talked about Evander Kane yesterday,
not taking morning skates.
This is nothing necessarily new.
But he's not right.
And then early in the game, Darnel Nurse
takes a rather innocent looking, but was not the same.
We talk about it, right?
Finish your checks.
It doesn't need to be bone crushing.
It just adds up.
It's a cumulative thing.
Over time, you just keep banging and banging.
And for that one there, you're right.
I think it was Evan Rodriguez, wasn't it?
who takes nurse into the sideboards.
And it looked to be a bit of a hip injury.
He did sort of, he was pointing at his hip.
Is that what he could have been a hip pointer.
Really? Is that what he, uh, yeah.
Could be a hip pointer.
If it's a hip pointer, you'll be all right.
It'll stick that big long cortisone needle in there and it'll go right away.
Yeah.
So, but here's the thing.
More Panthers went down the tunnel last night, if I'm correct.
Because you had Ekblad who screamed and left the ice.
Rodriguez early before he scores a pair.
He did this.
He was like, Ben.
My, my, uh, uh, medulla oblongata.
My cerebral cortex got clunked on the ice there.
Okay.
Listerainen and then Barkov leaves and doesn't come back.
So did it?
Yeah.
But again, three oilers leave.
Uh, nurse kind of comes back.
Leon comes back.
Cain's hurt, but he's playing.
And four Panthers leave.
Three of them come back.
came is playing this full war of attrition the thing is nurse came back but he played three shifts the rest of the hockey game he was essentially a non-contestant the remainder of that hockey game for for knob so what do we see in there is that the moral support on the bench how do you take two shifts and not four or why you're not taking zero instead of two like i just two that's i don't want to go to the room or maybe it's one of those things where he did take the the horse tranquilizer like you said and he keeps waiting for it
to, I'm going to go out for a twirl.
Yeah. Not yet.
I was trying a TV timeout to the end of periods and stuff.
Not yet.
But luckily for the Oilers, and we've talked about it a lot, depth at D is their strength.
They've just got a plethora of NHL defensemen waiting.
Well, when they noted defenseman Adam Henrique, that went into deeper.
Yeah.
So there it is.
Vinnie Dayharnay came back in last night.
Top four, Vinnie.
That's a big ask.
and and then nurse was unavailable for much of the,
C.C.
Yeah.
There's a scratch.
C.C. DeHarnay, that's going to be an interesting.
Well, who's going to go to the left side?
A couple days.
Maybe nurse can get back in there.
Either way, it played a factor last night.
They were short-handed, regardless of what you think of nurse, right?
Oh, the guy should play. He's terrible. He's great, whatever.
He logs minutes.
And Bouchard was north of 30.
at by the time it was all said and done.
So not ideal.
But then on the other side,
we,
I guess do we want to talk about the Fogel thing or get right to the,
the big one?
Well, chronologically, you start with Fogel and then we get to,
we'll go Fogel.
It was the big one until it wasn't, right?
Yeah, it's a neon knee hit unless,
I guess it was.
Five in a game is what it ends up being.
Thoughts on this retro?
And you can't call a thing.
five minute kneeing major without the game just so people
know that's not an add on that's just
when you call a five minute knee it's automatically
coming with a game misconduct that's the
rule book my thoughts
my thoughts are it's a knee
and that the
how do you say his last name
Losterinen
Losterinen played it up real good
Rineen played it up real good
it's also probably a Charlie horse
and I'm sure it heard I'm not saying it didn't
hurt but he was making the most of it
It was, they, I'm pretty sure he knew that there was a chance that they were going to get five out of this.
I feel like it'd be one of those things where when the trainer comes scooting over.
Stay putt.
Yeah.
I'm fine.
I'm going to milk it here for a little bit.
But to be fair, fellas, if it is a Charlie Horse, is that not exactly what happens?
Is it feels like you're dead for about 10 minutes and then you're fine?
Like, that's kind of what we saw.
No, you don't feel fine.
But, but you know what I mean?
Like, I think for someone to say, oh, he's faking.
It's like, that could be.
the case, but if it's a Charlie horse,
it also kind of fits the bill, doesn't it?
Yep, but he asked my opinion, and that was
my opinion. Yeah, and it, there's
a good chance. It did hurt at the time.
Yeah. He may have been in some discomfort.
You can do both. It can hurt and
you can milk it. Yeah. Yeah, you
could do that for sure.
But the, I,
you think, okay, here's a five minute man advantage.
Didn't do a whole lot for the Panthers.
And then it goes four on four in the oilers
snore on it. So,
but I guess between
nurse being gone for much of the game and then Fogel is gone.
It's a depleted lineup.
You've got to spin some guys through.
But the big one, obviously, is later in the hockey game, 1032, third period,
Alexander Barkoff along the wall and Leon Drysidal.
The one angle they show, I don't think we have it, but he knows what he's doing.
He's going to take a bit of a run as you would.
It's the playoffs, the Stanley Cup final.
And he comes in, loads up.
And jumps into Alexander Barkov.
Not into his chest, everything up and into his face.
He clunks him on the chin.
Now, Barkov is kind of bent over, reaching down, whatever.
But I think that the intention here, and you can't penalize intent,
dry Sal is coming in to lay the boom.
He's going to try and crush this guy.
He's fully aware of who it is.
now,
Barkov leaves.
Is it a broken jaw?
Is it a concussion?
Is it an injury of any kind?
Maurice was asked afterwards,
is there,
was he going to be able to play?
Listen,
I'm not keeping them out.
It's a stout.
It was 2-1 at the time of the hit.
There's nine minutes left,
which is correct.
But what also is important
context is that it's soon after,
it's 3-1.
And at that point,
why even bring him back?
Yeah.
So,
or he could be toast for the series.
Who knows?
Mr. Warner, is this a suspendable offense?
Or let's start here.
Is it a penalty?
Is it a two minute penalty?
If it was anybody other than dry sidle, does he get more than that?
And is it a suspendable offense?
The suspendable's tough.
But if Barkov's hurt, then they've based suspensions on guys being hurt before.
So, yeah, I don't know how you do it in the playoffs because they're not going to announce that he's hurt.
This is kind of the cat and mouse game that's going to be.
be played because you've got two days off and the Department of Player Safety will want to know
the medical status of Barkov and the Florida Panthers teammates coaches offered nothing in
terms of an update not even a we hope he's good we're not sure just no comment like don't have
anything to tell you at all well if it's a broken jaw it won't be hard to figure out correct um like he
could be done for the series or he could be good to go for game three there's a huge range
of outcomes here I would think the Department of Player Safety wants to know
where he is on that spectrum before they say whether it's a fine, a suspension, or nothing at all.
It's an elbow and he left his feet. Yeah. And if you break your guy's jaw doing that, it's absolutely a
suspension. That's not crazy. It's not hyperbole. Part of the equation is, is the guy hurt from what you did?
Fair or not, the two same actions with different outcomes or entry have different suspensions. That's how
they roll. The only issue I will say is that you're putting a lot of faith into the Department of
discipline. You're assuming
that it's going to be cut and dried and black
and white and that's how it's going to go. Because you're right,
history has dictated injuries,
that's what they play. It's a factor.
Would you be
flawed if there's no suspension, even if
Barkoff doesn't play game three?
You can't be. It wouldn't be floored. No.
Of course not. You're right. It's, it's too
crazy to see this didn't even get a call and this got four
games and this got six and this got one. I mean,
it's an incredibly difficult job. It's
also mind-numbing.
how inconsistent they can be.
But again, I think they're slowly getting a little bit better at least.
And if you break a guy's jaw with your elbow and you left your feet, how's that on
a suspension?
That's just it.
There are a lot of criteria that have been met with this one.
Right.
And it's not a last minute always getting by me throw an elbow out.
No, you're going out of your way to go do that.
I'm going to be lined up.
I'm jumping and you're taking one of my elbows into kisser.
You're making a decision to do that.
That is not a reaction.
That is not a things happen quick.
You went to go do that.
And that's fine.
Like I think Barkov's probably fine.
I think there should be nothing here.
But everything changes if Barkov's hurt.
Boy, I wonder.
I don't know.
You don't know what?
I don't know if he's okay.
I wonder if there is an injury there.
So there's, is it something he can play through is the question.
Can you come out with?
The old Joe Newendike jaw protector that we saw in 1989.
New and Mike, let his stick to the talking.
Like that, if it, is it, is it something you have to go check in the room?
Yeah, it is.
Okay, now it's 3-1.
There's no point bringing him back.
If we can't protect the two-goal lead with seven minutes left.
Wow, you can also have him on the ready.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay, it's overtime.
Now we're bringing him back.
Like, and look, he could be done, Dino, for the series.
I just think that Paul Maurice would say,
say a lot different things at the podium if he knew
that that was a broken jaw.
Because why even let people think it might be nothing
if it is a broken? Well, let's hear what, like Maurice
Kachuk was asked about it. He said, I'm not commenting.
Yeah. Maurice didn't say anything
about it. And then it's actually Pierre Lebrun
who doubles back and asks about Maurice and his thoughts
in the hit. How do you feel about the hit on Barkoff?
This isn't the Oprah Winfrey show. My feelings don't
matter.
Love it.
So it's enough to, uh, it's, it's enough to know that he's, he's seething.
He's salty.
Um, but you don't really expect them to come out and play that card right away.
Would he say that if his, his captain's jaw was broken, make an Oprah Winfrey joke?
I don't think he was, I don't, I don't think he was joke in there.
I think he was pissed off last night.
Again, I don't know what.
So what do you, what do you expect?
Because again, we've talked, they've got two.
days between games.
He's been in the room. Maurice comes off the bench into the room.
I'm sure he's had his trainer in his ear talking to him about what Barkov is.
But do you think if he knows that the jaw's broken, he's going to come out and give the full
laundry leave?
What's your best chance of getting Leon suspended?
Because that's the biggest thing that can happen here aside from you losing your guy is if
my guy's gone, they better lose that guy.
He didn't do anything to feed the fire of getting Leon suspended.
You can do that today if he needs to or tomorrow.
but if he knows
Barkov is done for the series
his job in that press conference
is to get everyone convinced that
Leon Drysidal has to miss hockey games
and he didn't do anything like that. He made a joke about
Oprah Winfrey. My feelings don't matter.
Coach's feelings matter all the time. That was
tacked. That's my interpretation of it.
Yeah, and that's an interpretation
and I'm not going to debate you on it because you can interpret it however you want.
I just, I didn't think the hit looked vicious, but I didn't think the
baddard one earlier this year
when he broke his jaw looked like a job.
It doesn't take much, right?
It's just the right angle or whatever.
And again, I do think everyone's okay here, but, but, um,
and I'm trying to read tea leaves.
Like could be till they're wrong here, obviously.
Yeah.
Um, the one thing that popped into my mind afterwards was when the flames
played the jets and Maurice was coaching Winnipeg and Kachuk sliced Shifley's leg.
There's a dirty, dirty play.
It's a guy knows what he's doing.
And, uh, it was the Oprah Winfrey show.
He had plenty to say that.
that time. So I don't know.
We'll find out in a couple days.
But I am curious to see how
both sides handle this
to your point because
there's nothing coming out of the Florida room.
There's interesting dynamics to it. Sorry for interrupting you.
But like the leagues, they should be
looking at it, right?
Have to, yeah. And the Panthers can give them vague
we're not sure if he's going to be okay.
We're not, how are we supposed to know?
We're not sure if he can play or not.
We don't think he's going to play, but
How do we know?
Could the league say
like we need to see an x-ray
if you're going to claim it like
is it broken or not?
Can you answer us that?
I think you should be able to answer that.
There's no way he doesn't get x-rays last night.
Yeah, I don't know.
But what, like I get your point.
I just don't know what.
I don't know.
If it's broken jaw,
you have to have to have a suspension.
If it's not,
I just don't think there is one.
I would just sit on.
Either way, I would sit on it.
I'm not,
I'm not playing any cards that night.
Let's get,
let's collaborate our story and find out.
What's the,
best thing we could do here. What's the smartest thing? Is it to come out right now and say it's
broken? He's done for the series? Or what do we do? I would probably take a beat and just see what
we wanted to do. So the fact that he didn't say anything, I don't see as a big bonus for the
Oilers as far as maybe avoiding a suspension. But either way, we can move on. Because like you said,
no, and it's a good point you made on the Kachuk thing. I'd forgotten about that.
Yeah. Um, my God, I have got some.
somebody phoning me.
It's like the fifth time.
Can you answer it?
This would be good.
I don't know who it is.
Just pretend you're somebody else.
No, I gonged it already.
Bell to a Ligger here.
Stop phoning me.
To O'Ligger Industries.
To our Liger Industries.
Let's hear from Connor McDavid.
It's an O2 hole.
We talked about the percentages.
It's not good.
Game three is going to be.
Game three is going to be an absolute banger.
However, that's said.
But a night where the offense comes up with
nothing. Again, they've scored one goal in the series. You can talk about penalty kills and
goal tending and all that sort of thing. One goal through two games. Not enough. Power play has not
scored Connor McDavid asked about it after. We got to work our way out of it. It always starts
with work with our group. They're a unique penalty kill, just like they're a unique team. They're
aggressive. We've got to have guys ready for the puck. We've got to have guys making good
plays. You've got to strength good plays together and we haven't been able to do that.
Yeah, that's exciting. It's exciting. It's another opportunity for our group to come together and dig our way out.
It's supposed to be hard. It's supposed to be difficult.
And I'm excited to see what our group's made of. I'm excited to see our group come together.
I'm excited to see us fight through adversity and looking forward to people doubting us again.
You know, we're good with the backs against the wall.
you look at the
Evanston Oilers down 3-2 to Vancouver
and down 2-1 to Dallas
everything after that and those series
was almost perfect for them
their best to hockey the playoffs
I didn't mind it right
what's he gonna say
can't say anything
not much you can say
yeah and if you're Connor
like the only thing you can do
is try to inspire your teammates
that's a good job there
yeah
saying nothing's
oh yeah we're in a deep pole
I don't like where odds
if he referred to himself
as the underdog kind of thing
like is that
yeah they're counting us out no one's giving us a chance
not sure that's not before the series
Connor but not sure if he's been ever held
in that regard before I mean just to be some
up and comer just some kid just some nobody out here
no one's given us a chance a bunch of no names in here
yeah
but yeah I think you have to give credit to Florida that was
because we wondered after game one,
the Oilers played that great and didn't win.
Well, Florida, you better be better.
You're not going to get that kind of goal-tending performance every night.
What was going to shift?
What was the shift going to be?
And I think you saw both.
I don't think the Oilers were obviously quite as good.
And I think Florida really flexed.
I think that they came out.
And they just looked like depth of team too, right?
It sure did.
This is what we thought we'd see with Dallas, isn't it?
Yeah.
And we've talked about it a lot.
Ryan, you've talked about it,
just how greasy and mucky and d'er.
that's it's kind of what we're seeing but it's not it's just a willingness to compete and be physical.
Yeah to do it.
You're just going to come at you.
There's not been a whole lot after the whistle, right?
It hasn't been a lot of scrums where they're trying to get.
There's been a few here and there.
That's going to happen.
Cichuk goes after McDavid after the,
the breakaway there.
And there's a few little mailes here there that obviously the headlock that echo or that
Echblad puts,
Bouchard in.
But no, it hasn't been like,
The most physical series you've ever seen.
It's been two games.
Yeah, but it's,
that was a,
a impressive Florida performance.
Uh, now what about this here?
This is the,
the chokehold.
It really is something I, I don't,
have we ever seen a player tap out?
In a national hockey league game.
This went over well in the,
uh,
Panther social media.
The Oilers have tapped guys.
The series is so far.
Do you know what that's called, right?
What's the,
that maneuver that Dekblad's employing there.
Do you know a whole lot?
It's a whole Nelson.
I know you're a roll.
It's the camel clutch.
Figure four.
It's got a full Nelson.
Yeah.
A Boston crab.
What do we got there?
Yeah.
Crab.
But either way, this game coming up, game three is going to be,
there's going to be some high drama.
That'll be a tense building.
That'll be a charged up building.
That'll be like massive momentum swings.
That game is.
Yeah.
I think it's going to be awesome.
Is this a, hey, fellow, Paul Maurice,
these guys may come out hard and fast.
Maybe we're going to have to be ready for the first five minutes here, guys.
There are going to be, uh, there are going to be some kind of wound up.
Yeah, wound up.
Don't find the over on Thursday.
Yeah, hard to say.
Seventh comeback win of the playoffs for the Florida Panthers.
third periods this postseason they have outscored opponents 2811
I found it interesting that there was was it when tied going into the third
the Oilers have not won is that what it is I thought I saw that on our feed last night
they had a weird stat about that too where it's like I don't remember chuck was on too in between periods
except the people on the couch wouldn't shut the f up so I couldn't hear of chuck
We're on the coach.
There's a lot of people.
There was a woman and a child.
A woman.
Yeah.
A child.
Yeah.
Charles Barkley.
He was on the Canadian feed too.
Yeah.
With child Bukascus.
Rett would have seen the pan of the desk panel.
That's right.
And we saw the,
uh,
by the sweet interview with.
Did you see the Bukascus rat?
Well,
it's gorgeous.
It's,
there's some,
there's a very good chuck in here.
Take a listen.
For your pick from the outset,
what do you think of them so far?
Well,
they played great in game one,
but they didn't win.
But Voski was,
was fucking, oh, sorry.
I'm sorry.
He was freaking amazing.
I apologize, y'all kids at home.
He was freaking amazing.
I mean,
when you're the best,
I guess it just comes easy.
Even when you're not trying
to be entertaining, I guess you still find a way.
But Brovsky was, oh,
sorry, all the kids at home.
How tall is Kyle?
I was going to say,
Kyle's got to be six, four,
six five because Charles
honestly my kid one of the kids walked in the room is they were with the
US feed they were like who's that he made P.K.
and mess look like elementary school
children he towered over.
I think I think I've seen Bukascus in person and to your point.
Yeah, I think he is a lanky fella.
So Charles is only six five but cows in the neighborhood there and it's
It's sort of Charles's
girth, so to speak,
a massive man compared to
P-K and mess.
Anyway,
Chuck's got her going, eh?
Chuck's awesome.
Chuck's got her going.
I would just like to ride around.
If Chuck was in the building,
even if I showed up after Chuck left,
I'd still feel cool.
Yeah, yeah.
I wonder what he's,
what's Chuck's drink?
What's he's sipping on in the,
in the suite there?
I don't know.
It's a whiskey.
Vaca.
All this.
Throw it in that big cauldron and mix it all together.
Yeah.
Once he got in there, is it some gin, gin tonic, Tom Collins?
Or is he having some beers?
Is he having some barn burger blondes in there?
What are we doing down in Florida anyway?
Like if you're going to a game, what's the drink?
Because I know when you go to Nashville, they have those pink drinks.
You go different places, different drinks.
I don't know if there's any fancy drink.
I guess you're on the ice more than you're in the sweets there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'd never walked around that concourse until last year when I,
uh, went to the All-Star game.
And?
It's very nice.
Yeah, yeah.
And not a new building either.
It's been around for a while.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So you were gone at the year they moved in?
You left.
I started, I was there the first year.
I started half the year.
Then you go to Buffalo.
Yeah.
so Cody Cecee, welcome back, bud.
King Chronics says Kyle 6-2.
There's no way of knowing whether or not King knows or not,
but there you go.
Unofficial reports have him at 6-2.
Is that not in the league directory there,
along with all the heights and weights of the players?
Like Logan Paul.
Media members?
If they don't want places like cap-friendly running around
showing people's salaries,
they can't know how tall broadcasters.
They can't let that out of them to ruin the league.
Is that why they bought that?
I'm not sure.
You haven't thought like...
Capitals bought it, not the league.
Okay, but why would you buy cap for it?
Like what's the...
No, like we said yesterday, someone bought Cap Geek prior.
And essentially, you're probably just chasing the people
or the intellectual property in there.
But has anyone done anything with Capgeek?
Because once it was done, it was just done.
Well, that's what they're going to shutter it, just like that.
That's my point.
But I'm saying, so what are you like, like,
you bring it in house and you say we know a little more about,
certain nuances of contracts
and other teams. I mean, it's a small edge
or maybe it's the people that are working there.
You're like, we think these years are sharp.
I wonder if that's it.
If you're bringing in the brains.
I think that's a huge part of it.
Yeah.
Because like CapGie.
Sure, Cap Friendly is not just, you know,
collecting stuff.
They will break terms of contracts in terms of like,
we've got it. Here's the terms.
Here's the signing bonus structure.
Here are your, you know, who's got no trades
when it kicks into a full mode?
Like, if you bring that in-house and other teams don't know,
that and you do, there's a significant advantage.
The challenge being that some,
there's already other ones like it that are just
going to replace it. Like cap friendly, literally
just replace Cap Geek. I wonder
there'd have to be something for the teams
that would have, there'd be some league database.
There isn't. That's the whole point.
So if you're a national
hockey league team, you have no access to other
players. I believe Elliot on
32 thoughts this morning was talking about that the league
doesn't like this stuff out there. And there isn't a
remember when the Daddanov thing went crazy? Like, how is there not a
central registry that just has all the no moves and stuff.
And they're like, well, we don't have one.
Because I get why, again, this is so fucking boring.
It is not, I guess I know maybe, maybe why the league doesn't want fans to have it,
but I feel like the teams have got to know contract details of players within the league.
Anyway, uh, if, listen, to all the other teams that aren't the Washington capitals,
we too are available for purchase.
if you would like our big brains
contact Jared
who I don't know
Does he still work for us?
I'm not sure.
Contact the Wolverine who is
quitting tomorrow or he's still working for us.
He's at a ballpark in Langley or something.
I'm not sure.
Anywho.
Anywho?
Yeah.
Anywho.
Are you having a CTE moment
where you're kind of stalled out there?
I'm just waiting for somebody else to talk.
Oh, I thought you're going to throw
to the Pinda report.
something.
Go ahead.
And now the Pender Report.
The Pender Report, Dean, is brought to you by our good friends at Village Honda.
Are you looking for a pre-owned vehicle?
Maybe you don't see exactly the one you're looking for in the lot.
Don't worry.
Access to more than 500 in the dealer group.
We're talking about the power of the Wood Automotive Group, Dean.
Check them out online, Vilichonda.com.
It is time for the Pinder Report.
Last night, Panthers unveiled New Jersey.
Jersey, odd timing, you'd think, wouldn't you? Big game. Stanley Cup Final. Why distract it?
There is. Look at that. Hey, Lomburg, Bennett. You may not know this, but I believe it's actually a take on a former flames design.
Well, you know what? Everything's stolen. There's nothing new anymore, especially fashion. It's cyclical, right?
Yeah. So there it is. There's the new Panthers third jersey. Not sure when they're going to wear it.
Exclusive.
Yeah. Those are.
What font is that?
Comic stands?
Times New Roman.
Oh.
It's pretty good.
All caps.
We've talked a lot about the game last night.
Let's get some curses.
We love curses out there.
The NFL and EA Sports has placed a pox upon the house of Christian McCaffrey, making
him the Madden cover guy.
Oh, I thought you meant like swearing.
I thought you had some F bombs or something coming.
Curses.
I mean, that was his immediate reaction.
action.
Yeah, maybe.
Finding out that he was out of going to have to get paid to be the Madden cover guy.
Not a good run for these guys, Jack, is it?
Like, did the Steelers have one last year?
What a horrible season?
Josh Allen.
Antonio Brown was like the worst of all time.
Is that the year he went nuts?
Yeah, like pretty much right after that.
Yeah.
Was it a Steelers tie and makes me out?
Was it Peyton Willis?
Yeah.
Peyton Hillis.
Payton Hillis was on the cover and then evaporated from the globe.
Like just gone.
I think we need a list of these.
Jack,
can you go find us a list of Madden Curse covers?
Because it's not nothing.
Anyway, McCaffrey,
$38 million extension or whatever,
and now this.
Ugh.
Yeah.
What would you rather have the President's trophy curse,
the Madden Cover curse?
I'm going to,
boy, it's tough.
Probably Madden Cover?
Oh.
Because I'm thinking,
you're making,
Yeah.
You could be in the president's trophy winning team,
but you could be making league men.
If you're on the patent,
if you're on the Madden cover,
you're probably doing just fine.
Yeah, he makes some money.
Tough for that ring, though, chasing the ring.
Let's go to our boy Tim Nacki.
He did not finish last week,
week two in the money.
And so he finally paid his punishment
of hammering a ghost pepper.
This won't be boring.
Day one, copy my Walter punishments.
finished last week just ever so slightly in the negative around three to four thousand
dollars so ghost pepper chili coming up i'm not looking forward to this the hottest
chilies on the planet they have unbelievable heat and an amazing flavor of bird mango
um lovely use gloves and handle with extreme caution heat
11 out of 10 doesn't smell too horrific grandma bink sucker oh no
telly ho hmm getting real hints of mango
I mean it's hot, it's not too bad yet, but...
A few moments later...
Oh, that just got so much worse when I swallowed it!
I'm not good.
Oh my god.
Oh, fuck!
Does it make it worse? I've heard rumors it makes it worse.
Not good.
It hurts so much.
My nose is starting to run. I don't know if it's gonna bleed.
Allegedly it can last up to four hours.
Apparently a shot of sugar house.
A lot of sugar helps.
Did it help?
Fuck you, Walter.
That's probably enough recording for the time then.
I can't get worse from any of these punishments, I don't think.
Showman, boys.
Give them that.
Poor Tim.
Down four grand.
And the ghost pepper.
Bad week.
Would you pay another four grand than I have to do that again?
I think you would.
Yeah.
I think you would.
You know, the shoveler and Rett are big outdoors people.
They're mountaineers.
And Rhett loves his cliff jumping and hiking.
What a combination this is.
Oh, my God, you got to be brave.
How long is he in the air there?
Jeez.
Oh, no misstep.
Yeah, and tuck the arms just in time.
That's the one for newbies.
They always forget.
Like, I got a balance and then, ow.
Tuck.
Is that what it is?
You got tuck.
right before you enter pencil dive dean you want to do the pencil dive
whole pencil dive uh now you guys probably grew up with some of this in tomfoolery
do you have any like electric cattle fences nearby where you lived
yes yes yeah and was there like one guy that was just dumb enough just dur enough that you
could get him to do it wasn't yeah yeah and did you either of you end up ever playing
with the not on purpose okay i'm gonna need more
there. Well, I should, if you're
you just, if you happen to grab it,
oh, oh, okay, electric
fence, good then, good.
Yeah, but it does feel like one of those dumb
money things where you could start getting guys to
yeah, to have to grab onto it.
Kind of like this, I think, yeah.
I'll come with safety tips like, um, like
if you come to this fence over here.
This one. Ah, fuck. It's a little. You're not supposed
to touch it. Don't touch it because it's electrified.
Why don't you say that? I was getting into it
and you grabbed the fence. I pointed at the fence.
The fence can be that bad.
It's electrician.
It's electric.
He's just from New Zealand.
He's a pussy.
No, it keeps the cows.
You think I'm not tougher than a cow?
Yes.
Cowbung the baby.
Fuck!
What the fuck is that?
Pikachu's in that fence, bro.
That's for bulls, actually.
Bull fence, more specific.
No, I think I've got a bad current.
Let me try again.
Don't try again.
Don't touch it.
Don't touch it.
Stop, you gotta go.
Woo!
Bro, it's a fucking rush.
Try it again, Jimmy.
Try it again.
That is my money.
There's a fucking rush eye.
Yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep.
This is like those things you see online.
The girlfriend is like, I bet he's out cheating.
I bet he's out of another woman.
Meanwhile, what the guys are actually doing,
put your hog on there?
Like that's, we're dumb animals.
They're so dumb.
Yeah, we're dumb.
No, this is a little closer to something we do, but I still don't think we're quite there, fellas.
Look at the size of this trampoline.
So no Rob Ray is the pool there, but do you think he's room for this?
You want double bounces?
How about like five people double bouncing?
Like quintuple bounce?
What we call?
Oh.
That's got to be like three stories up.
Wow.
The fence is irrelevant.
Yeah, I'm waiting for someone to be, oh, we got the angle wrong,
and this guy lands from three stories on, you know, the lawn.
Did you put up the safety, uh, the safety fence?
Yeah, that's a three foot safety fence.
And you still fell out?
Sweet.
Shoot them to space.
Somehow.
Yeah, somehow.
Mm.
You guys watch lumberjacking ever?
All the time.
All the time.
Look at the, look at this.
ate at a couple in high school.
Is that right?
There we go.
there to go up this huge
just telephone pole
you call it it's way up there
the guy in the left is actually close
can't see him he's out of frame but it's a close race
you're gonna have to get down pretty quick
get to the line
and bang bang a bink a bink
a bink and bonged
oh yeah
Dean
what's the rush
that's a race that's the
yeah just go for a nice
leisurely pole
walk i i'm still shocked i've seen some of those like when you're catching your foot and
you go out over teakittle yeah and then brain yourself yeah calling backwards yeah we're talking
about it it's one of those um one and done probably better than practice but it looks like he's practiced
yeah i don't know and then they start these are these the guys that start saw and wood yeah that's
part of that too yeah he he so much cardio you'd you just run out of gas so quick you would think
Or it's one of those things you think,
well, how hard could it be?
And then you try it.
It's like,
son of a gun,
this is, uh,
yeah,
takes a bit effort.
You got earn that husk of Arna money,
no doubt.
Yeah.
Uh,
Brett,
you wrote at the,
uh,
must have been some kid hockey tournament.
You wrote at the water slides at the hotel,
playing tricks on the young man.
Look at this.
You think,
watch out,
big guy.
Ha ha ha.
Sneak.
So sneaky.
Oh, dear.
Oh, dear.
That's a second.
You didn't know they were going down in the chain.
They're supposed to separate more than that.
That's not legal.
That's illegal.
A legal procedure on the offense.
Do they not have some kind of lifeguard at the top of the slide?
That's not a safe distance.
You've got to be more separated than that.
That's right in the jib.
Wow.
That's a broken jaw.
He's getting a couple games.
Yeah.
And then the nose just starts gushing blood into the pool.
Good.
Yeah.
Love it.
Needle of color in here anyway.
What did I get you?
Yeah.
Got me.
Uh,
Rett was fishing again.
A lot of fishing videos all of a sudden in the algorithm.
This is good stuff.
He and his buddy out there.
He put the gloves on.
Oh,
so close.
Oh.
Get him.
I mean,
I doubt it.
How the hell can get him?
The shark shows up.
He's a double appetizer and the main course.
The mahi mahi right?
What are we looking at there?
Oh, that's the weird face or not.
Not colorful.
I learned something about the parrotfish today.
Please tell us.
It eats the coral and all those white sandy beaches.
It's their poo.
Parrot poo.
Love it.
Start again.
The parrot fish.
Yeah.
Eats the coral.
All right.
Has a dump.
White sandy beach.
Parrot fish poop.
I feel like that.
can't be accurate, but
is that some Rogan thing?
It is. That's just, that's opinion,
you can't argue with it.
It's not willing to debate it.
It's a Rogan experience.
J.R.E.
Wow.
It's wasp season. Look out, fellas.
They're building nests right now.
I hate wasps.
Somewhere nearby, but don't worry, there's a new
weapon helping mankind.
Check this out.
That's going to work.
Yeah, some insulation there.
Foam. See it, buds.
I've got to kill you.
Just going to freezing in time.
You're gonna be like Han Solo.
I'm just gonna freeze you in carbonite
for a few hundred years.
I would worry that those bastards would just
chew right out of that.
I don't know that installation well enough,
but, um,
looks,
looks heavy.
And then,
surly,
well,
they're surly.
They're surly anyway.
They're all these.
Bees are assholes,
right?
I don't mind the bees.
Those are wasp and the hornets.
Hornets.
Yeah.
What about horse flies?
I mean like horse flies around.
Oh, like horse flies.
They take a chunk out of you.
They do.
They just.
Every horse fly season.
Careful, they'll take a chunk out of you.
Take a chunk out of you.
The horse flies.
There's always one person that's never been bitten by one before.
It's their first time in northern Saskassar.
So what is it do?
How afraid should I be?
I'm like, just go underwater, surface a while later.
And if you feel them landing, get under.
Someone's nearby, let them land.
It takes about five seconds.
Kill.
They take like an ice cream scoop of your flesh with when they go.
You're begging for mosquitoes when they're done with you.
Yeah.
uh rat something went horribly wrong at the airport on that shipment you had from florida i was trying to get to
milwaukee here's the thing that i don't know that you're supposed to have that box of grabs at the plane
that's uh i just would have left hopefully your name's not on the box just keep moving move quick
yeah anything declared nope nope nope i'm in a hurry that's what i'm declaring
So you need a
What is it?
Shampoo and shave, rat?
Right.
Yeah.
Shave and a shampoo.
Is it a special kind of shampoo?
Yeah.
That's prescribed.
Okay.
See your doctor.
We talk about a dumb.
Hey,
Hey,
Hey,
Hey, hey, give me those toes.
Come here, you.
Ha, ha.
Is that crab talking?
Yeah, he is.
I don't know why.
Oh, he he.
Under the sea.
Ha, ha.
Ariel.
The, uh, men are dumb.
We talked about it already in the Pender report.
Check out this.
trick that didn't, well, just check it out.
Hard hat challenge. Can you do it? Hard hat challenge, okay?
Did he win or did he? I was going to say that camp, come on, we got to keep going.
Hard out challenge. Can you do it? Can you do it? It's a good job getting under it. Oh, upside down.
You have to time that really well to get the right son of.
Is this again, another one of those continue to work at it? Yeah, you got to keep going. Yeah. I
feel like it's one of those Darwin events.
That guy's going to keep working at it.
I feel like eventually we're going to have that.
It's going to be like the Barnburner Summer Games
and we're going to have all the events
that come from the pin to report.
Yeah.
Yeah, we'll have like
snake petting.
We're going to need a waiver.
Crock petting.
Yeah. How do we get a gator up here?
The hard hat challenge?
What would be easier around here
wouldn't be the crocs and the snakes.
It would be more like a bear.
Right?
Really likes that dog.
I would have been gone.
I was like, Rhett, take my dog.
I'm out of here.
Yeah, you'd have jumped in to help the dog there, right?
No, hey?
See, if you don't have the dog around his bait,
that bear ain't coming.
Do you hear your mic cord cutting in and out?
Yes, I think I told you this two weeks ago.
The cord, I think something's...
Yeah, you got some issues there.
Hmm.
It's a bit better now, I think.
Yeah, sounds good now.
Let's check out some snakes.
Okay.
So what do we go on here?
When does it end?
This is a black mamba.
This is the fastest snake in the world.
Fastest.
Yeah.
Apparently, it flies.
That's not a small one, is it, Dean?
This is beautiful.
Yeah.
Also, I found another country Dean doesn't want to go to.
He's been talking brave, but going to Australia.
He's afraid of everything in Australia.
Indonesia is also.
on your list?
Really?
Just updating you.
I was,
and I was going.
Because,
um,
well,
Oh,
missing mother found dead inside 16 foot long python after it swallowed her
hole.
Indonesia.
So close,
but so far away.
You're off the list.
All right.
Well,
get my list here.
Damn it.
Can you,
is it,
how much notice you have to give for canceling,
uh,
plane tickets?
You're,
it depends what you paid.
I don't know,
man.
I was going next weekend.
Is that too short of?
If you went the cheap point,
I'll be in trouble.
From what I've experienced, it's fine.
Yeah, Rhett's usually at the front of the bus.
They'd let you cancel there.
Because probably, I mean, let's,
because you're getting bit first,
probably right.
And then you're incapacitated.
And then the snake says,
come here, you.
Get in my belly.
I'm going to,
does they have bellies?
Yeah, the whole thing's basically the belly, I believe.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then do you think you're dead or do you think you just can't move?
And you're like,
I'm,
This asshole, he's going to swallow me, I think.
He's not up to my knees here.
He's good, is he really going to try to, he's up to my nips.
He's got me.
I'm nipped, I'm nipple deep.
I'm fucked.
Had a bad day, that lady.
Somebody help me.
Help me, please.
Although, I guess if you're a capacity, you couldn't talk.
That's what would be going to be going.
through your mind yeah then be the inner dialogue there balls deep in this thing
speaking of balls this squirrel's having a tough day guys check this out
that is no kidding this squirrel balls are stuck in the fence that poor guy
hey you you got some issues going on there he got some problems buddy oh poor guy he does
not look too happy man how fun
Wow.
This is a brotherhood here.
You need to get the guy out of there, quick.
That's the glory fence.
Oh, little known.
I'm the one that's offside, I guess.
Finally, Dean, it's time for you to choose the mystery box today.
Okay.
During the dog.
So go in Dean.
Lay this out again.
How this.
So there's Doran the dog.
He's a black lab living in Asia, eating human meals on camera.
Asia.
It's a continent.
Asian.
dog. What does he do?
He eats food.
Oh, I love food. Yeah, you do.
Is it different kinds of food or is it same food every time?
No, very different every time.
Really?
They're very nicely presented dishes.
And, well, I mean, it's pretty good.
I love food.
And the only thing, maybe I love more of food, dogs.
And then the other option you have is the mystery box, which is something I don't tell you
anything about it. It could be a happy birthday Tim Jackman.
It could be...
Anytime I can combine two loves.
Yes.
Like food and dogs, it makes the decision very simple.
Right.
I'll take the mystery box.
Okay, here we go.
Okay, so I've had an issue with this toenail.
So you can see, I've cut the shoe open,
but this toenail's been bugging me since the beginning.
So we found a pair of plies along the road,
so Andy's going to yank this toenail off
because, you know, enough's enough.
Put your foot in there.
So of you guys might remember that David did this to me in India.
I was in China.
It was in China.
It was a bit messy.
So this is called the revenge.
So what I'm going to do, I'm just going to make sure I've looked it there.
And then I just get it.
Ah!
Yes.
Yes.
Yeah, it's called the revenge.
Ah.
Jeez.
Jesus, man.
This toes are a bit man.
there it is there's a bit of meat and everything on it oh good dean look at
oh there is there's mystery box today good pick dean that's pinn report

Just don't for a ripar you, but. What are those folk doing, walking around? I don't know that the tandem on social media, but it sounds like they walk around places because they were referencing other long walks they had.
Walking about? Yeah.
A boot about.
Yeah, a walkabout.
What else is going on?
Jack, how are we doing?
Apparently no sports.
I did notice.
Yeah, we had the Madden cover and the new thirds from Florida.
Yeah, it's a Stanley Cup final game last night.
We basically talked about it for the first half hour.
Yeah, we talked a lot of sports today.
And there's more coming because we're going to have our hockey guy.
I'd be fair.
We're going to be back this weekend.
You know, surgery will be back in Ash and we have Calvary back in Ash and we got
Euro starting Friday rat.
A little day drink excuse.
Scotland, Germany, Friday, let's go.
Scotland, German, Friday, Red.
That's when you can start.
Honey, it's Euro.
What do you mean?
I can't drink at 10 a.m.
It's Euro.
Is that something that you, do you need that, though?
Because it feels like for you,
she's got to be on the ready at any given time.
Babe.
It happens like every four years.
It's Euro.
But today it's blank.
Yeah.
And with blank, I have to start drinking during the day.
Yeah.
I feel like that's just days and end in the way.
The better the blank, the less guilty you are, right?
This is a good blank.
This is one of the best blanks out there.
Very scheduled.
Old Ryan, though.
Yeah.
I got to start drinking and then I'm going for a rectal exam.
That's generally how it works with you.
You get.
You get four or five deep and then go to something probably inappropriate for a drunk guy to go and be.
Yeah, I got to go to the dentist and you just blackout.
Yeah.
Jesus, what's going on in here?
Not ideal.
Let's do the Bellway vets.
That way, get yourself some Betway, Betway, Betway.
Betway.
Join the action with Betway.
You get the app on your phone, get it on your thing, get your tablet, or wherever.

Our boy, Jack, loves the,
you say, Kikuchi, I say strikeouts, bets,
six and a half Kays or more.
And it's a plus 120.
So I mean seven or more.
Been quite good last year, Kukuchi.
It's looking at it.
I think there's like four or five pictures
with a higher war over the last calendar year.
That's crazy.
Okay, Kukuch, go get it.
And I'm going to,
you can already find some odds up for Thursday's game.
It is time for final boss,
Matthew Kachuk, to enter the chat in Edmonton.
If it's already annoying as an Euler fan
that your team is where you're at,
don't forget about public enemy number one,
Matthew Cichick, returning and ruining the party,
plus 200 for any time goal Thursday.
There you go.
Those are the Betway bets.
Get it on your phone, whatever you do.
But get into Betway, get involved, joining the action.
And there it is that QR code for your bonus when you create a new account.
Is it all surprising retro with it?
Like, Kachuk's still a guy that contributes in some way, shape, or form.
But even in that sense,
because there's been very little after the whistle and it hasn't been quite as grimy as maybe we thought.
Both Reinhardt and Kachuk oddly, oddly quiet for it.
Quiet.
It's one of those things where you're almost, if you're a panther, you're happy.
Obviously, you're happy if one, two, but you still have two guys that you fully expect to be more noticeable moving forward.
So, I mean, I'm sure the Oilers are talking the same way.
They've got a couple guys who probably put up some point.
But for the Panthers, I'm surprised, is he hurt?
Did go through my head.
And specifically with Kachuk, I'm like,
he's banging into guys.
They've been tighter games, though, right?
It's not like we're in a five, four game.
It was, what, three nothing when they were two net game one.
And it was one one into the third last night.
But remember last year in their in their run?
He was all around it.
It kind of wasn't.
He wasn't.
It was weird.
I remember the Carolina series.
But remember it was all the overtime.
Goals.
Yeah.
But there was somewhere you're like, I haven't seen them all game.
And then it's like boom, into the slot.
Overtime Kachuk wins.
Everyone talks about Kachuk.
It was.
In fairness, a hell of a back check last night on the McDavid breakaway.
Yep.
And then a hell of a face rub and mixing it up.
I don't know how he didn't get two there.
Not that it no matter.
It was 3-1.
But there was some made of that retro that where's, where's all the Oilers?
McDavid on a breakaway, stopped.
Kachuk comes and runs him into the boards, riding him out.
giving him the old stink face.
Where's the oilers coming to the defense?
And for a minute, he continues to jostle a linesman.
Nobody comes over.
And there's dudes skating around.
That's the best player in the bleeping world.
You want to get in there?
Want to get in there?
You should want to get in there.
You should probably want to get in there.
So it's one of those things.
Do I put a lot of stock in it?
So they're a broken team?
No, no.
But I do wonder for McDavid.
Is he in the back of his mind?
no one came in
like no one's going to
skate over and
take a look
I know that
Bouchard is
in the rear naked choke
he can't come over
but
maybe a little surprising
my math suggests
there's a few other skaters
that could show up
probably
yeah probably
probably
it's up for the rest of the day
right
uh today
it's a little overcast
a little chill
might make some soup
really have an Italian wedding hamburger I do have hamburger cream of mushroom not sure I'm
feeling the hamburger soup so I'm not sure what kind of soup but is it a cream

wait a minute.
Hey, holy.
Have you got enough time?
Have you got enough time for it to marinate
and kind of sit there and bubble and get happy, happy?
We don't have to eat till later, so yeah.
Oh.
Even better tomorrow.
It's great news.
Lacrosse.
Oh, shoot.
And it's just far away where the drop-off go-home routine.
It doesn't make sense.
Did you find out of it's indoor or outdoor?
You got that started out yet?
It's outdoor, yeah.
Field lacrosse.
Yes.
Yes.
You should see the school.
It's nicer than any university in Canada.
Not even close.
They got a hockey team?
They do.
Is it any good?
No, but it should be.
Yeah.
Just send your kid there.
You love school.
Yeah.
Big into school.
Yeah.
Maybe get a tour.
You know what they call people like Redd?
Academics.
He's an academic.
That's right.
That's right.
All right.
He's standing by.
Why are we wasting time?
Let's go.
Our buddy, TSN, Jamie McLean,
Noodles.
Shortage of drama,
Noodles through two games.
Of course, game one,
everyone's excited.
The Cup comes out.
What'd you think of that,
by the way?
We talked about it yesterday.
Very rare.
We've not seen that before.
They trot old Stanley out there and plop them down.
I liked it.
I thought it kind of set the table and got things kind of,
let's go.
But I know some people were bitching, oh, no, it's, that's your, the cup is in the building moment.
Now that's ruined for later in the series.
I say more.
Maybe they just don't trust Philip Pritchin.
Yeah.
No.
It's late.
Remember when he was late in Chicago because of the water?
I think that Phil had a, had a night and woke up late and was like, oh, my God, I got to get the.
With that hair all over the place.
Hair in place.
It's hair everywhere when he's actually on.
That is true.
Yeah.
It's a hell of a disguise.
You know what?
I thought it was cool, too, because I'm full disclosure.
I've been to so many cup parties.
I've never touched the thing, which is weird.
I don't know why I'm an idiot.
I'll never win it.
It doesn't matter.
But for some reason, I feel like I haven't earned it and deserve it.
So I've never touched it.
Most of my buddies have, which is great.
And the guys that have won, I've been to, you know, my Commodores, Ray Whitney's, Chris
Bronger, you name all my buddies who've won the cup.
I've been to, been to these parties.
But it's more about the respect for it.
I thought it was really cool.
It's like, hey, guys, you know, you've got four to seven games to pick this thing up right here.
I thought it was awesome.
It just, you know, some of the things that I've witnessed so far, this is the other thing, too.
And I can't take credit for it.
It was Hayes on our show, you talked about it.
But he said, the league, it's not a government.
You can set your own rules.
So the league goes, hey, we're going to put the cup there.
Great.
So be it.
So I thought it was pretty impressive.
For me, I thought it was pretty cool to see it there and see both teams and how they reacted.
Some guys weren't looking.
Some guys were looking going like, I want that thing.
So I loved it.
Yeah, we talked about it.
You really can't overuse it.
It's the greatest trophy in sport.
And for all the things the NHL does, you scratch your head and you wonder if there wasn't a better way to do it,
by all means, lean into the cup.
That's one of your best things.
you've got attached to your brand yeah that's a great point just you know that's one thing that
nobody will argue about it's like hey that's an unbelievable trophy the history i i i mean i still
don't like that it has a keeper i i i you know you got some of phil going on today what's that
why do you hate phil pritchard it's not phil's fault bill has a great job and apparently he like
plays guitar and does all these things like he's like part of the party that's what i heard
But I just also like the stories that I heard from guys who won it before it had a keeper.
We were like, hey, we had it at the Bruin Inn in St. Albert and the strippers were dancing with it.
And we were this.
And, you know, like you had, you know, I got to sit for three years or two and a half years with Grand Fear at the back of the plane in St. Louis.
So I got plenty of Stanley Cup stories of what those guys got up to in the 80s.
Well, those guys also lost it.
So I think that was part of it.
Yeah.
That was the problem.
Yes, he ruined it for everyone.
Grant told me a crazy story of like him and Glenn Anderson, like, sitting with it.
And it was on the boulevard and cars were driving by.
And they just jumped in a car and left it there by accident.
And, you know, Grant said he woke up in Hawaii one time and forgot his car at the rink for like 10 days.
It was like, there are stories.
This is like Bernie Lomax type of stuff where you're like, this is like it's unbelievable, but believable.
Yeah.
Well, you know, Elliot used the word last night, attrition.
both of these teams had relatively decent stretches of time to rest up and get ready for this series.
But yet here we are.
We're through two games and already it, you know, there's a lot of icebags and a lot of injuries to talk about.
I don't know which one we can start.
I mean, it starts Darnell Nurse early in the hockey game.
That becomes a big one because already thin on defense.
They move any day or Ney back in.
Cody C.C. sits.
three shifts after the hit by Rodriguez on Darnell Nurse, he is not right.
And who's to say, you're going to get nothing at this point.
But just so much at stake for the Oilers in a game, too.
You go down 02.
We know what the math is, about 85% chance that you're losing that thing.
He just, he could not go.
An already thin blue line for the Oilers becomes, I mean, it's perilously thin now.
becomes thinner.
It's funny because I've said
other people, especially my
oiler fan buddies,
saying, you know, last week
they wanted nurse to be a healthy scratch
anyways. You know, they wanted
this guy out. Careful what you wish for, yeah.
I said, careful what you wish for. Now,
that being said, you still want
six bodies in there because
that forced Bouchard to
play 31 minutes last night.
And that was too, it's obviously
too much for anybody. But, you know,
And at home is a big body.
When you're 6'5 and carry weight, like at home, like that wears down in you.
I thought Florida did a good job of chipping away at their deed.
I thought Darren and Brobert didn't look out of place.
If anything, it's just you've got five guys.
You end up wearing them down.
I thought there were some critical mistakes.
I'm not circling.
It's funny.
I'm maybe in the minority of this.
If you go back and look at the, so Rodriguez's goal, we'll call it.
that's a game winning goal, right?
So the second one, where Bouchard puts it on his stick, right?
Yeah, his first goal, yeah.
Yeah, his first goal.
That's Ryan McLeod.
He doesn't lose.
First of all, he's got it on the wall on the other side.
And he makes a soft play because he doesn't want to get hit.
He spins, he chips it up the wall and spins out of the way because he doesn't want to get hit.
So they keep it in.
It ends up going around.
Then the puck goes back to Bouchard.
Bouchard, yes, tries to outlet.
pass to Brown. It gets picked off. McLeod jumps in the lane, but it hits the backside of him and
goes short side. So yes, he's skinner too. He's not like, oh, I'm supposed to see it.
So we're watching it right now. There's the turnover up the wall. Okay, McLeod, get in the lane
and block it or get the hell out of the way. That's basically that's what I would say as a goaltender.
But if you go, I don't know if we can go back farther in that play. That play doesn't happen.
that turnover doesn't happen on that side of the ice if mcclough doesn't get that puck out yeah to me
these are tiny tiny details but they're critical errors where right now florida doesn't seem to be making
errors and if they are here's here's the you know doesn't want to get hit by rodriguez so chips it up
the wall to nobody and then now you're on the run he's in position and it as a centerman to support the
play block it and i know it's a tick-tack play tick-tack toe play but block it or
or get the hell out of the way.
And he doesn't do either or,
and it goes off his backside.
But that play is avoidable on the other side on the wall.
So people can go, yeah, Bouchard, turn that puck over.
He absolutely did.
That's a turnover by the defenseman.
But the forward, you take a hit and make the play there in the Stanley Cup finals.
They're out.
They're exited.
They might get a change.
They might get an offensive play going that way.
So I had a problem with that play.
I'll be honest, because I think there,
was a few times during the game where I circle McLeod going, that guy you need more from.
He's a young kid.
He's a good player, 20 plus goal score.
But if they had the depth, he might be a guy.
I'd circle to say, you know, might watch from the stands one more night here.
We wondered after game one because the Oilers were very strong.
Their performance in a loss was very good.
So what is it going to?
Florida is going to have to be a lot better or Ken Edmonton,
are they going to be able to keep that up?
Last night was a completely different story.
It was all Florida.
Three oil or forwards had shots on net.
There was high, whatever you,
five and five scoring chances was like one.
The goal that went in was kind of a kind of a flub that fooled Bobrovsky.
It was a real elevation for the Florida Panthers.
And I don't think it was anything fancy.
Do you know what I mean?
That's their bread and butter.
We're just going to, we're going to roll four lines.
We're going to finish our checks.
We're going to get some saves.
And it would, the Oilers felt pretty good after the loss in game one.
I don't think they can be trotting out the, you know, the sun will rise tomorrow.
The rose picture now.
First of all, you're right.
Like they played well in game one.
This isn't the Moral Victory League.
No.
You know, it's result based.
Robowski stole a game.
Okay.
So that's all.
He stole the game.
Florida's still up.
You knew.
Florida was going to play better. The two things I noticed that Florida did a lot better is all of
their play. I thought Ekblad struggled in game one. I thought he was awesome yesterday. Awesome.
Good stick. Yes, the chokehold will talk about whatever. I don't care. I,
but more about, I just thought there was going to be a response from their top players.
And they did. Like they were a lot better and their adjustments.
Edmonton used their speed through the neutral zone game one and Florida didn't have an answer for it.
Immediately they adjusted their neutral zone.
Evanton couldn't get any speed going last night.
Every time they tried to make a stretch play through the neutral zone, gone.
D stepped up.
So they were playing the one one three in the first.
I think they almost went to like a one three one.
It wasn't, but you could see them step up with support in the neutral zone.
I thought Florida's adjustments were great and I thought their top players played to.
their capabilities. Keep in mind, we haven't seen Reinhart,
Barkoff, Kachuk, score goals yet, right? Probably well.
Exactly. That's my point.
So there's still another level. McDavid said after the game, and I like what McDavid
had to say, we said, our backs have been up against the wall, and I
didn't think we had another level tonight, which we do have another
level. So they knew that they, they didn't, I didn't think they played well.
I just, I thought McDavid had a few pace plays, but their power play was.
supposed to be a killer, you're 0 for 4 and 0 for 3 in game 1.
That's supposed to be a difference maker.
If Florida was going to be, hey, we're going to take penalties and have a march to the
penalty box, power play is going to kill you.
That wasn't been the case.
Too fancy, too many soft plays, too many extra passes.
And listen, Noblock said the right things afterward as well.
He said our power play, I'm not worried about it.
We hit three posts.
Yeah, I'm kind of on that page.
Like, I don't see something that's not gaining the zone and Z.
dipping it around. They've got some bad puck luck right. You're right. But the thing is,
it's not like you have two weeks to sort that out and go, hey, we're going to have a bad
five game stretch. And you know what? And then we'll go 75% in the next five games. It's not there
for you. Yeah. The air's coming out of the balloon. You got to get it going. Like next game Thursday
is a must win because your three Cobb is, yeah, that's a nail in the coffin. Two Cobb. I know it's a
cliche you're having you know you're not out of a series till you lose a home ice game that's
what losers say when they lose the first two games basically yeah you don't hear the team that's up
up to oh saying that do they but the bottom line is is they have an opportunity to change the look
of this series by winning on home ice on Thursday but that's that's the only thing i would say
from a positive standpoint from a negative stamp i've said this before and i might have said this
to you guys last week i could see a pathway for emminton
to win three games.
But I don't know if that's the case, if they will or not.
And I don't know if the pathway is there for a fourth.
But the three games is the goalie has to steal one.
So Skinner hasn't done that yet.
But Brovowski has.
So Brobrovsky has.
So Brovsky has one.
Skinner hasn't.
They need one from Skinner.
McDavid and or Drysaddle just goes, not on our watch tonight.
We're winning the game.
And then the third one is the power play.
is the power play's got to be a different rate.
I wouldn't even call it special teams.
Now, special teams 34 for 35.
It's pretty damn impressive.
But the power play hasn't pulled its weight.
So that's the pathway for three potential win games for or won games for the
Evanton Oilers.
Now, I'm not saying that Bobrovsky's had a stolen game.
I just talked about Reinhardt, Barkoff, and Kachuk, not finding the back of the net.
So they're going to have an answer.
Like, I can make a pathway for Florida on the.
the other side too. So I thought last night was a must win. It, you know, the number suggested,
but it has to be like, Evanton has to have it Thursday just or else this is a four or five gamer
and that's it. Curtains. So the numbers are 90.7%. So basically we'll call it 91%. The last two teams to
come back from 2-0 in the Stanley Cup final, 2011, the Bruins. And that was against the Canucks
where it was a homer series until game seven,
and then Pittsburgh in 2009 against Detroit.
I mean, I'm kind of with you that, like,
this certainly isn't wrapped up for Florida,
but you better be,
have your best game of the playoffs Thursday.
Because 2-1 is a completely different series.
You're like,
we're playing to tie this thing at home on the weekend,
on a Saturday.
Like, that's going to be bonkers.
Or it's like, yeah,
we've got to get four wins before they get one, like we're cooked.
And let's be honest, you know,
there's a lot of people saying today,
are you going to beat Florida four to five times?
That's really like, but you can't look at it that way if you're in
Edmonton.
What you've got to do is that we need one to show that we can win a game.
And then maybe a get go.
Like I didn't see personally, and I don't know how you guys felt,
I didn't think Everton was going to beat Dallas three in a row.
And all of a sudden they did, which was weird.
Yeah.
And they did it different ways.
The goalie had to steal one, you know, McDavid,
like the same type of formula that I was talking about.
I don't think it's impossible, but it's pretty damn.
And some of that was on, sorry to jump with some of that.
was on Dallas obviously too they just disappeared and i don't know that there was really any way you
could have seen that coming but they just in us they just kind of stopped playing uh i guess part of it
too a bit of a wild card if if florida doesn't have their their top center they're one of their
best forwards it could change things what was a broken jaw to me you think it's a broken jaw i don't
know again i'm not going to speak out of turn but the forearm shivers slash side of the elbow to the
side of the right base there.
And, you know, he went down immediately.
But coming up, like this is, listen, it's, it's, it's, it's a hit to the head.
I don't know if it's a suspension in Stanley Cup finals.
Well, it's a broken jaw.
It's got to be noodles.
I'm sorry.
Like, they factor in what happens to the guy.
If I'm the Florida Panthers and that's a broken jaw, I wouldn't have been
humming and hawn last night.
I would have said it post game because.
So that's your opinion, though, Ryan.
But do you honestly think that if it's a broken jaw, I do believe they have to,
Okay.
Here's the other thing, too, guys.
I try to remove, like, emotion and, you know, fandom.
I'm not a fan of the Oilers, fan of Florida.
I've got friends on both sides.
I'm happy for them.
People in Evan, if that was Barkoff on Drysidal or McDavid,
what are we talking about today?
Through the book.
Right.
So, you know, Barkoff right now, if it ended last night,
he's probably picking up the cons might, correct?
Like, Bob.
Evan Rodriguez has been pretty good.
But yeah.
But I mean, I just, I think body of work who got, you know, I, I, for me, it's, it's
Barkoff unless Bob takes it from him with another game type of thing.
But it's my point being is that's not, you know, that's not, uh, the fourth liner.
You know what I mean?
That's, uh, trying to draw, drawn a blank on his name.
Beard, big head, square head.
Lorenz.
Yes, Lorenz.
That's not Lawrence.
Like, that's.
That's that's, that's a bashoff, the captain of the team.
So the other guy that's outscored McDavid playing against him,
the first two games of the series, right?
The guy that's all McDavid to one helper in two games.
Like they're just,
bottom line is,
is Barkoff's a superstar.
Yeah.
And he deserves a superstar treatment as well.
It's not just one way or the other.
I don't know if it gets to,
I thought that,
I don't know how you guys felt.
Like I didn't think that was a major.
Like it looked like a Charlie horse.
and I looked like on Vogel,
it looked like more of a Charlie horse.
And when you try to avoid contact,
you bail out of the,
you bail out of a hit.
Lakes can still lock.
But that being said,
I do like that they called it a major
and at least they looked at it a second time.
I thought they got it wrong,
but that's just my personal opinion.
Jennifer Bauderall made a really good point.
Have you seen them review a major that quickly before?
It was like,
whoa, you didn't need to see much, I guess, did you?
Yeah, I, I think that they,
they, I think they made their decision on the ice.
I think they made their decision on the hit and then just verified it from what they believed they saw there.
I didn't, I personally didn't think it was a major.
If that was a major, who was it Bennett on?
On Bouchard.
Like that was, Bouchard just didn't get hurt on the play.
And Listerranden came back.
And I like to say, he's feeling it today, guaranteed.
These guys are all got icebags on their, on their body.
I didn't have a problem with the roughing last night.
I think it's both sides.
I think both general managers are calling the league today complaining about it
because there were some missed calls.
And there were some calls that maybe we're either light or too heavy,
depending on what side you're on.
Because everyone in Emmington's going,
well, what about the chokehold on Bouchard?
And I kind of laughed.
That happened to me once in a bar in Edmonton,
a bouncer got grabbed me from behind i was just standing watching a fight i think he thought i was in
it and he gave me the i i i didn't even tap i just went limp is that a rear naked choke i'm not
sure what the rear naked show yeah and then because he taps though hey hey i can't breathe
taps that he tapped i mean like yeah at least he's got some ufc training going can't breathe
can't breathe like listen if he here's the other thing because people are so
thing. If he, if he like passes out there, what is that a, is that a, it's not good for sure.
Right. Is that penalty? Is that something there? Like, yeah. The first time I've seen that in my life
if that happened. But yeah. I guess, you know, just to go back to the dry sidle thing.
If it, you know, Fogel gets five in a game, dry sidel gets a two minute minor. If that's not
dry sidel, it's still bark off. It's still a star player. But if it's a, if it's a perimeter player,
If it's a third line depth guy,
is he getting two or is he getting more?
Because it's a, it's a,
what are we able to call it?
He charges Adam, he leaves his feet.
Yeah.
But at the same time, it wasn't,
I don't know if it was that.
It was close.
It kind of gets in the neighborhood.
It's the side of the elbow,
which is the forearm shiver.
Yeah.
But I don't know, as far as the mechanics of hitting,
like I don't know if he like led with his elbow or hit up.
He certainly launched, right?
Because you do see his skates leave the ice.
He launches into the hit.
But it's, hey, I'm going to try and get a piece of this.
I don't think he, you know, like elbowed, but it is an elbow.
So I guess, like I'm arguing with myself here.
I'm trying to talk myself through this hit.
Because, again, we should just remove names, the dry side I'll bark off.
If that is player X and player Y, what is the penalty?
what is the you know and then you've got to factor in too like you said pender is if there's an injury
there but if that's a part of their formula it just is if there's an injury you know now where are we at
like it's like the head is here's the other thing the head it can be the principal point of a
of a hit is his head down a bit there i don't know it's kind of he's pretty upright on that's the
only thing he hits to be fair there's really no shoulder through the body
Yeah, I think it's a it's a high hit.
Like it's a head hit.
So let's read the tea leaves here.
Okay.
If we know that that's a broken jaw on your Florida, like let everyone know and then
Department of Discipline is going to throw the book in Leon.
If it's not, what I think you do is what we saw last night, which is everyone's saying
no comment.
I have no reaction.
My opinion doesn't matter.
I'm not in that like I think he's fine.
I think Leon will play.
But, and again, we're getting way down the path of speculation.
here, but if he is done for the series, you let everyone know about it last night, don't you?
You do?
Because then they can throw the book at Leon.
Because, yeah, but here's the other thing, too.
I had somebody say this to me last night.
Do you think that, like, that could be a concussion.
It's not going to be called a concussion.
Right.
Because concussion is one week and the league steps in.
So that's the other thing, too.
They got to be careful with that, go, hey, he's got a broken jaw, or he's got this and that.
And they go, oh, you know what?
That's one week.
You know, we because out of the protocol, concussion protocol.
So it's, it's.
And they said nothing.
So yeah, that's interesting.
The chicken of the egg.
And there's two days.
Remember, there's those two days between games for them to find out what the injury is and to
collaborate and get their story on what they want it to be.
Yeah.
And for the Department of Discipline to say, are we making a ruling or not?
Are we having a hearing or not?
Yeah.
This would be like, we talk about the dark arts on the ice.
There's also the whole managing the PR side thing behind the scenes.
There's a huge sort of flow chart of where this could go.
You're right.
There's some politicking going on today because this is an off day where both teams are traveling.
The managers are talking to the league going, where are we at here?
And you know, Billy Zito and Ken Holland are both in there yelling and screaming at probably Stephen Walkham saying,
didn't like the Fogel major, didn't like the barcoff, you know, the hit on Barkoff,
didn't like the chokehold on Bouchard.
And one-handed hook called the other way.
It was chintz.
You know what it looked like?
Noodles is what we,
someone built the chart like four or five years ago.
And it was like game one, game two, game three, game four, game five, game six, game seven.
It's like the number of them.
And it's just turn into chicken shits as it gets later in the series.
Is that what it is?
Don't want to affect the games.
Oh, it's on the game two.
We call everything.
Use the whistles, boys.
Yeah.
I, you know what?
You can argue with it.
But there was, I think both teams thought they got screwed
by the ref last night. Like not
one, you know, not one
particular team. I think both teams felt
they, there was missed
calls or could have been calls that were heavier.
It's another, we got
for a few more minutes. Another week,
more Markstrom questions. We're being
kind of quietly led to believe.
Now, we've kind of looked at it.
What are the flames want to do with Markstrom?
What teams would like to have a Jacob Markstrom?
We haven't talked a lot about what does Jacob
Markstrom want? He's the guy with the full, no
movement clause. We're
kind of under the impression that this is a guy who would like a change.
He doesn't like the rumors in season.
The feeling seems to be that it's time he wants to move on.
Get this done.
Get it done in the summer so that I can get my life together and be ready to play.
Not that that changes anything, but we've heard this week, Toronto, Ottawa, you hear
about potentially L.A., but certainly New Jersey, Carolina.
Put yourself in in Jacobs mask, if you will.
If he's kind of got a chance to pick his spot,
what's the most attractive destination there for him?
So for me, it's Carolina because they don't give up any shots
and every goaltender there has unbelievable stats, right?
Because if you look at it, they're a really defensive-minded team.
And they're a really good team.
And they're probably going to add and continue to add.
I don't know if they're going to resign Genssel or whatever.
ever, but I just, I look at it from the best team that I think the best team that wants,
would want him out of the ones that you just named is Carolina as from a structural standpoint,
you know, pressure standpoint like that, you know, Carolina is not a market like Toronto or
Ottawa, you know, Canadian market.
The other thing is you're right.
Like, now, I could argue maybe New Jersey has a chance to be better than than with the future.
you always go with the best player and jack hughes is the best player out of you know ones we're
outside of matthews i guess but we're i i think it's carolina if i'm the goalie just based on
the structure of the team um i think it's a moot point if if the goalie goes i only want to go
to that team you know like that's really what it is it comes back to it we can sit and speculate
all you want jacob marksstrom like mitch marner controls their destiny
They either want to stay, they want to go, and they choose the team that they want to go to, and the team has to eat it.
And what you've got to do is work with the player, work with their management, and go, if the player wants to move on, okay, let's figure out the best package deal to get them to that destination.
That's what, unfortunately, you get when you hand out a no move clause is at some point they pull the contract out of the drawer and go, you know, we want to, we got to deal with this, but here's the parameters of it.
So, you know, L.A. is a good team.
You know, all the teams that you mentioned,
I think Ottawa's up and coming.
I think Toronto still has, you know,
lots of work to be done,
but they've got a really good team there in the regular season,
and maybe the goalie puts you over the top.
I would argue that Trey's probably going to be really active in the offseason.
Yep.
You know, I'd be shocked if Trey hasn't called Connie,
just to check in.
I mean, they're close anyways, so.
But, yeah, you're asking me.
I think Carolina makes the most sense just based on the team.
but it might not be the destination him and his wife and kid want to end up in and new jersey
maybe a little bit better because it's closer to new york i don't know toronto but i don't think
carolina wants them boys they got kachkov who's young and they love and they got one more year
freddy anderson locked in like they're going to have to move a lot of shit around to make them and
they've never wanted to pay or pay the acquisition cost to get good goaltending they go get guys in
free agencies they draft and develop they find guys off the scrap heap i don't think eric tulski is the
GM is going to pay the top offer to get Jacob Markstrom.
That's a good point. I just, I think they might, my trust level with Anderson's health is
concerning. And then Kachatkoff is, I think he's, I don't know if he's a one. I think he's more,
he reminds me a little bit more Danny Vladar type of scenario. Like he might be a good kind
a tandem guy.
Kachekhov really has good feed.
He's got some good skills.
I just don't know if he's a one.
And the jury's out.
So if Tulski is going to go on the numbers,
okay, go ahead.
But I just,
you got a good tandem there in Anderson and Kachetkoff,
but I would argue,
do you sleep at night?
And what I mean by that is,
is that goaltender going to be available to you
when you need him?
And that's, you know, Freddie has has a habit of unfortunately not being available to them when they need him because of his health.
So you either either move past him or find a spot for him.
There's musical chairs.
If I'll mark, you know, Markstrom, who else?
Soros, you know, guys like that.
Yeah.
If they're on the move, then basically what it's going to be musical chairs for goleys.
All right, brother.
We've got to let you go.
Now you're off to Edmonton.
Do you pack the pediolite in the IV bags?
You just get them when you get there.
You got a guy there for sure, right?
Right?
I grew up there.
I got a guy.
Yeah, you got to have.
Everyone's got a guy, right?
I will be hydrated by Cove.
Right.
Who knows?
So is it going to be quite a show?
Are you going to put on a clinic out there?
No, I'm working.
Oh, of course.
I'm going to do, like, first of all, I'm 52 years old.
Like what kind of, I'm not going to get choked out in Squires like I did by the
announcer 23 years ago.
Wires.
It was the bar downstairs.
There was a billiard club on the second level of on White Avenue and downstairs was squires.
And I'm literally standing there and the bouncer came up and chokeholded me.
So that wasn't fun.
But I didn't tap.
That's what I should have done.
I should have been a chard.
You tap.
Yeah.
The bushard.
No, I don't know.
If anything, maybe Friday night, you get up and go take a peek and see a few buddies.
But, you know, I don't have any concrete plans right now.
I'm a professional and I figure things out.
But I'm sure my phone will be ringing off the hook when I land in Evan.
Yeah.
Out of all the people I know, I worry about you the least.
I really, of all the guys, I feel you've got a good handle on it.
Your co-host, I worry about that guy.
Well, you know, not a lot going on in Buffalo, I don't think.
That's the thing.
There's not a lot of.
He's a guy who, if there was trouble, he can find it somehow.
That's basically what.
Weird, weird that way.
It is.
Noodles appreciate you.
Safe trip.
We'll catch up next week.
There's quite a few people.
I think even in the national media have ties to Edmonton,
either buddies work there or they work there or spent some time.
That is going to be, I'm sure the floor, it was fine.
I mean, we saw Frank on the pontoon boat, that sort of thing.
But I think it might, I don't know so much pontoon boat riding.
It'll be a different kind of activities.
Oh, yeah, busy big queues at the water park.
What are we talking here?
Yeah.
Yeah, something like that.
One, the drop of death?
Bourbon Street will be jumping at the mall for sure.
It's going to be an interesting, I mean, it sounds cliche, interesting,
but just the injuries, nurse, dry sidle, bark of the Edmonton crowd,
first cup final game in forever.
The building's going to be electric, electric,
without even knowing, as we're days away from it,
it feels like that's got the markings of an oiler win,
a bit of a bounce back, because they haven't been terrible.
But like you said, it's some puck lock.
They hit some posts.
Game one, they probably deserve to win if they don't get goalied.
But man, your sphincter's tight because 02 is bad enough.
03, you just turn the lights out.
So can they handle, can they take the excitement of the crowd and all of that
and spin it into the positive that they need it to be?
Because if it's, if it's the moment's too big or if Florida isn't rattled by it,
then series is basically over.
Yeah.
And they look good when they got down three, two to Vancouver.
It looked dire at that point.
They're down two nothing in game four against Dallas and it was two one in the series.
That didn't look good.
It looked like they were overmatch at that point in some ways.
They played their best when they've needed to.
The top of the list is Thursday night.
You've got to win four or five and if you don't win Thursday, you got to win four in a row.
I don't see anyone doing that against the Panthers.
And they've been banging that drum already.
Even last night at the start of the season, you counted us out and then a month in, you
counted us out and against the fair enough.
Yeah, they've shown some resiliency.
Yeah.
But this, this feels like a different, this is a different fall.
Florida flexed last night.
We talked about before the series.
Do you put more stock in it now or does it make just as much sense as it did then?
That like Florida's been here, this is unfinished business.
And they've just, you know, you could chuck post game as saying, fellas, we were down to O last year.
Remember that mentality?
They're like, there's just, you can't replicate having been there before.
And sure, two of your guys have or three, I guess, Henrique a decade ago.
But I mean, Florida, the whole thing feels like home ice to them because they've,
they've been in this.
They've done this schedule.
They've, they've understood what their opponents going through that they don't see coming.
There's no way to know, right?
Yeah.
But through, does it get that vibe to you?
Through six periods, it sure does.
Yeah.
Through six periods, it looks like Florida's a very even, even keeled.
Not that the Oilers aren't.
I don't think they've looked rattled.
They just looked out matched at times.
Certainly last night they were outmatched.
They looked fine in game one.
Who knows?
Man, what if, what if this thing goes to, too, too?
It's not the craziest thing.
No, it's not.
Yeah, and we saw Dallas come out of a two-ohull already this postseason.
They did that to Vegas in round one.
And, you know, can the Oilers win two in a row at home?
Absolutely, they can.
And now we're talking about a best of three.
Why not?
You know, your odds of winning that aren't 9% if you get this back to 2-2.
You'd argue you're 50-50 or better because you've got the momentum.
Yeah.
I mean,
Fun series.
I don't know if anyone's rooting for that to happen,
but an oil or win in game three would,
would be a fun shift for the series.
If you're a,
like we are,
neutral observers.
We're not really rooting one way or the other.
Yeah,
like you and Jack.
And they're going to break out the lucky,
the two lucky charms in Edmonton for sure.
She'll be back in the building.
Both of them.
Any sort of sway.
The two good luck charms.
Yeah, yeah,
I'm not sure.
I mean,
yeah,
like i no one would be surprised if the oil there's one game three and if if we get that we got a
series yeah we do for sure so uh well uh that'll uh well that'll do for today tomorrow i don't know
it's gonna be noodle small yeah we'll do noodles small the thing is because it's uh they're doing the
skates and everything and all the the the media the people that we talk to it's gonna be kind of
tied up maybe we'll try and get creative and get somebody on the show tomorrow okay that's my ideas
maybe our buddy
Rhett could dig into his
Roller's
Rolodex like a Jovanovsky
or somebody who
he would have a relationship with
I doubt it but yeah
we'll see how that goes
Ah
I'll see you tomorrow buddies
