Starting point is 00:00:03 Oh, hey, look at us, doing a show on a Wednesday. It's, boom, it's, it's retro and no pinder. So we can all just take a breath and relax and not have to raise the good words in. It's good. We'll get yelled at it. Yeah, feet up, just kind of have a nice relaxing show today. Looking forward to it. How are we doing, everybody?
Starting point is 00:00:23 It's the, it's the barn burner for Bet365 official presentation, presenting partner. Hockey fans, check out. Bet365. three goal early payout. When your team goes up three, you get paid. It's that simple. Download the app today. Must be 19 years of age or older.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Please play responsibly. That's all we ask, you know? And there it is, the super chat. We are raw. Yeah, okay. All the money raise goes to the East Center's God. Like all of it, you know, feel like we maybe could have said, you know,
Starting point is 00:00:56 a portion of the money raise, a portion of the proceeds go to the, uh, give it to the kids. guess so. We're here in the McLeod Law LLP studios, whether it's business or personal, whatever your challenge may or may not even be it's challenges. Maybe it's something that you need legal help.
Starting point is 00:01:16 You need a lawyer for something. A cloud law. A couple locations in the city. Calgary Roots run deep. They know you. They love you. You know them. You love them.
Starting point is 00:01:27 It's a great. It's the way it should be. It's the way it should be. As we are here in the McLeod Law Studios on what I believe to be, snowy? Does it, I was out and about this morning.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I was as well. I was cruising around. Things were good. Had the radio on was made aware of innumerable. Is that the way to say it? I'm not sure.
Starting point is 00:01:50 I don't know where you're going. Numerous. Numerous. Numerous. High volume of traffic accidents. Really? Yeah, I saw something about, hey, if you don't need to be going anywhere,
Starting point is 00:02:00 don't do it. I don't even know who said it. was somebody on the Twitter machine I was city of Calgary or somebody didn't feel that way where I was and then so those poor Northerners Mm-hmm well yeah it's Tees and peas
Starting point is 00:02:18 Is everybody up and drive safe people You know Is ranch lands up there? What are those communities up there Work from your place from home Yeah go from home Uh we got a lot to get to we got Jamie coming up. Old noodles.
Starting point is 00:02:35 We'll join us on the insider hotline for Crystal Waters plumbing and heating. We will have the final 16 set for our chocolate championship, the Barnburner chocolate bracket. We'll officially begin in a way today. We've got the, there's always going to be some discussion. I see a lot of it coming up in my social media.
Starting point is 00:02:56 How could you not have a toe blur on this and all that? I understand. We're passionate. We're passionate about certain things. Chocolate seems to be one of them. So that'll come up near the bottom of the hour, top of the hour, whatever it is. We'll get through it. But the Calgary Flames, there's no stopping them.
Starting point is 00:03:19 No damn wildeen. You know they're going to show up. They're going to work hard. The goal tendings good. They're solid gold. Yeah. Go good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:30 We've been talking about the team on the other side. Desperate. Kenny Hall and this is not desperate. It can be very desperate to you and they're desperate. I'm not sure. Can I actually ask a question or do you want to carry this somewhere? Yeah, well, no, you definitely go ahead. Is part of the issue with the King's desperation, the fact that they're so tired from playing
Starting point is 00:03:58 every other day, they can't find any desperation? Like, I'm not making excuses. Yeah. And I sure as hell I hope it doesn't carry on into the. the into the playoffs. But Noodles has brought it up and we can talk to them about it. Dog park defense.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Yeah, yeah. Over tired players. Exhaust. Like, load management needs. Like, I'm not making excuses for the Kings. But it seems like an odd approach or for that sort of lackluster effort against the team you should,
Starting point is 00:04:35 if you do just put the work boots on, you should be able to beat because they should have a reason to quit and beat the flames. Yeah. And it's flat fuck Friday for the Kings. Like there was, they looked like a team that was a win away from being in a playoff spot? No, they certainly don't give you those sorts of vibes.
Starting point is 00:04:55 And they haven't for a while. Byfield scores early. Two in a row for them. Yeah. Yeah, they haven't since I think it goes December. Buyfield scores early. it's a nice goal. And I mean, they had a couple of leads and couldn't hang on to them.
Starting point is 00:05:12 And again, tip your hat to the flames that we do this. But if you're in the other side, you're playing one of the worst teams in the league. Their record would show that. They're okay at home. They work hard and all of that. But they are the lowest scoring team. And yeah, you're not scoring a lot more than they are. But if desperation is worth anything, then it should have carried you through last night.
Starting point is 00:05:34 And I thought with the goal early in the third, okay, well, they're going to assert themselves here. But they got out shot in the third period in a game that they had to win. So I don't know what to tell you about the LA Kings. For the flames, and you know, as far as I was going through my mind when you were talking about that, how can you get hot? How can you be desperate? I mean, Buffalo's done it. Ottawa's doing it right now.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Columbus seems to be doing it. There are some teams that are going on roles. and then there's some others, Pittsburgh, Vegas, L.A. Seattle, San Jose. Yes, the crack and the floor is just falling out. Now, maybe, I don't know if you've seen what's happening before the game.
Starting point is 00:06:16 About 30 minutes prior to the game, they have what's called a warm-up red, where the players will come out onto the ice, some wearing helmets, some not, and they'll shoot some pucks around and they do some of this zip-to-zip. Dipsy-Doodling. I've got to get a feel
Starting point is 00:06:33 for it, this sort of thing. The goalies got out there. They got to feel some pucks and that sort of thing. This has been something that's been going on for the last little bit. Frost, Farabee and Blake Coleman have a little routine that they do. So I don't know if this is, they've won four in a row. And, you know, so they're having a little. So there's Coleman getting his feet going, doing some, some chops and some, I, I, I, I, dub thee and some knighthood
Starting point is 00:07:04 this and you know, hey, you know what, they're having fun. Did you ever have something like this? I haven't been four for a long time, dude. Yeah? So this is what the kings need to do? Is that what you're? Well, I just, this is why the flames are winning.
Starting point is 00:07:25 They're off the loose. The knock at the would you? Blake, be a leader. Blake, you can't be having fun like that. This is a serious shit. This is four in a row. What are we doing? Five and two in their last depo cut their sticks and we talked again it was after the last game all of a sudden you got this Victor Olifson
Starting point is 00:07:47 well he's scoring goals well this Strom he's getting this he's getting the winner and overtime they had a they had the goal and a lot of people they started talking about okay so what are we doing matter from Oloffson and fellas settle down we got to get we got to get
Starting point is 00:08:06 Cadry and Anderson get Weger out of here because they're going to, with all, with them gone, this team's going to plummet because of the points. I looked yesterday. January 18th, the Anderson White Cloud among those of the principles, you know, the things. In 19 games as a flame, White Cloud has five points. In 23 games with Vegas, Anderson has eight points.
Starting point is 00:08:27 So Raspus, three more points there. The Weeger Mata, if you want to look at it that way, both have played nine games. Weaker has one assist. Mata has five helpers and now a goal. And the Cadre-Olofson-Strom deal. Well, Strom in nine games has six points. Olofson's got three now, and Cadry has five points in nine games.
Starting point is 00:08:52 So Strome himself is outpointing. Conroy is too smart. He's too good. I hate giving that guy credit, but I guess so. This Conroy is just too. Maybe he's chippers and chess, But I, jeez is just running roughshod through the league. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Or everybody else. Look at us. You do wonder. And I get it. It's, it's nine games. It's the end of the season and all of this sort of thing. I'm going to fix something in my computer. So I'm cutting my camera out.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Keep going. I'm listening. But it's like, so only Matta couldn't play. Only Matta couldn't get in to play with the, uh, with the mammoth. Okay. Again, can you do it over 82 or 84 games? I guess we'll find out. But he has looked just fine in a limited time as a Calgary flame.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Olson is what he is. He's streaky. He's a good, he's a shooter, but he's in NHL, right? He's going to put some points up. And,
Starting point is 00:09:52 and yeah, Strom is a guy who's so happy to be playing. He's a, you know, he's a bona fide NHL centerman who's in his later stages of his career. But because of the youth movement and what's been happening with the ducks, he couldn't get in. He's still a decent player.
Starting point is 00:10:08 And now you get to play. play after basically a season of watching. The other night, he said, that was the first time I've been in an overtime all season. I haven't touched the ice in in overtime yet. And if you coach the ducks, you'd probably look down the bench and be like, yeah, sorry, Strauma, you're not getting in here because we've got a lot of really good young,
Starting point is 00:10:24 high-end players. But it's fine. You're happy for them and they get a win. Zane Perrette gets a goal. They, you know, they were saying, that is his first goal. First goal on home ice. First goal of the season. remember last year that end of the year against the Kings, oddly enough, on the road he would
Starting point is 00:10:43 score. This year is a two-man advantage. So there's lots of space and time and he picks a spot, grips at home, nice pass, makes a count, feeling good. Big Morgan Frost at the, try to get the, do we have anybody else that can be the net front guy? Frost is our guy. All right. Anyway, so Griddin's feeling good. Rex feeling good. They get to the shootout. And Igor Sharonovich,
Starting point is 00:11:17 accidentally on purpose. Whoopsie Daisy, did he, did he do it? I'd mean to do it. I think he lost the handle on it, maybe. Yeah, I think so. I think maybe that's just kind of from a non-casual observer. Sometimes you don't get balances and you wonder,
Starting point is 00:11:33 when are we ever going to get a balance? And then other times, like, well, if he meant to do that, that is wicked. Like wicked wicked. It is because I've seen it. I think it's in the KHL where a guy does like the whole sweep where like sweeps in front of the goal or in front of the puck and doesn't really touch it. It's called the around the world. Dean. So thanks.
Starting point is 00:11:57 I don't know what this one's called. Yeah. I saw there was a whole major league base maybe major league baseball starts today. So that's a bit of a knuckle. That's a slur of some sort. Not sure what it is. And then the whole dome cheered and put their hand in their hands. head. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Head in their hands. Yes. Damn it. I was just as entertained with a lot. I was too. Per X scores like, nah, see? Plus also we were joking. And we said it with the Bet 365s. It's going to extra time. This game is going to go to overtime. 28th of the season for the Kings. Unbelievable. Wow. They have lost 18 games in extra time, which ties an NHL record. desperate. If they were a little more desperate, maybe. Desperate. Desperate. A little bit more desperate.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Time to go to the insider hotline. It's presentation of crystal water's plumbing and heating. This little dip in the temperature. Did you click your, oh, we don't need the heat anymore. Did you click it off and do one of those? I did it in the garage team. Yeah. Bad mistake. Yeah. You silly goose. It's too soon for that. You can't be doing that. Then you turn it back on. Is it maybe not working? Regardless of what's going on. Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating, your crystal clear choice for home comfort, whatever. is happening in your home, just hand it over to them and let those capable men and women take care
Starting point is 00:13:19 of you. 403, 219, 4100, check them out at crystal clear, callagery.com. I was excited last night. Other people in my orbit had stuff on the go. I didn't have to drive anybody anywhere. I didn't have to do anything. I was just kind of making dinner. I'm like, five o'clock, time for some games. I fire on which one, all these games. Playoff implications. Ottawa, Detroit. This is the one I want to watch because O2 that kind of almost side by. side battling for it on the outside looking in maybe they'll get in boom turn on my TV and what do i see what do i see but the color coordinated i mean look look good look at the smiling face at the uh little caesar's arena charming he could say pizza pizza pizza not between the benches he was
Starting point is 00:14:06 uh i mean maybe he went down but he's living the high life he's up at the uh he's up in the broadcast but there's jimmy mcclowe looking good James I was in the penthouse last night yeah it is on the road for Ottawa I don't go between the benches in Ottawa I go between the benches
Starting point is 00:14:27 on the road I don't trust the situation I think I pulled you guys this I had two concussions in 17 years of pro hockey I've had two as a broadcaster getting conked with a stick over the head twice really in the last four years I guess now it's knock on wood but I mean it's and I've told TSN one more and I'm up top for good
Starting point is 00:14:52 that's it I mean you know you shouldn't be afraid but you have to be aware between the benches it's it's there's sticks there's pucks there's cameramen there it's you're a professional goaltender I was and so like you built a career based on like reaction time yes but getting hit by I don't want to get hit by things anymore. I'm done. 37, 38 years old, that's it. There's a joke there somewhere about you not getting hit enough when you were still playing. And it's so true.
Starting point is 00:15:26 And, you know, I got conned a couple years ago and broke a bone here. Okay. That black eye. And it was against the Islanders. And Butch Goring says, because I had Butch and junior and at the NHL level and in the minors. He's like, that's the first time I've ever seen him get hit by anything. That's right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Sure. So Nashir was big in your week ago, too. I heard that. I mean, listen, that guy lives in a large glass house. He's got to be very, very careful about throwing stones. But I love the guy. He looks kind of a cross between George Hamilton and Sylvester Stallone now. Kind of looks like a half-chewed caramel.
Starting point is 00:16:07 That's all tanned up. But you love the man. He's a great, great man. But I can't stand him. he beat me in that he is he is honest to god he is making a statement he's so funny on tv i i love i really i think he's i think he's doing an amazing job but man oh man he we have a group chat and he just tunes people up in it he's pretty funny what did he beat you at warner uh they beat us in the dub final in junior yeah yeah yeah they beat everybody in the dub find and believe me they'll
Starting point is 00:16:39 let everybody know about oh yeah hamloops hug well i was gonna say and yeah yeah But no disrespect to Nashor. But when you start to rattle off the names on those teams. Nice list to be part of it. It takes a while before you get to Tyson Nash, I think. You know, it is funny because it was Tucker. It's Needomire. It's a Ginla.
Starting point is 00:17:00 You know, but Jason Holland, like you know, Ryan Hustra. Like Ryan Rashog, like there's some, you know, the names you go through. It's pretty funny. But Nashers there. Our buddy Struddy, Struddy was there. I saw him on the TV the other day. day too he was looking yeah he's veteran like a half chewed caramel no i would never say that about strutty he's you know he's close to heading to perky i think either that or you know
Starting point is 00:17:27 crawling it in car you got you know what just saying check please yeah yeah yeah mine i've got a five head a six head it's starting to you know crave back and i got a little my son said daddy got a hole in your head i get it but I mean, Struddy's got a palm tree. Nash has got some sort of dead quilt. Or what is that? Like Grizzly Adams used to have like a, what a belt? A pelt.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Yeah. Helt on his head. And yeah, I mean, but Nashir looks good. They all look good. And the thing is, we're all getting older now. So father time is chasing us. There's nothing we can do about it. There's a lot of guys taking some strays today.
Starting point is 00:18:07 We just got started. We're just getting warmed up. This is good. So the, so the senator has come up with a. massive one again last night. They lose I mean, they lose 30 minute a night defenseman and another
Starting point is 00:18:22 I mean, they were down to four the night before, two nights earlier. And then last night, they find a way, Detroit gets a goal, because I was watching as he saw I had you on there, Detroit gets a goal called back. And then it's Carter Yakumchuk. We've talked about him, obviously, Hitman. He was in the flames kind of orbit. We were watching very closely as the,
Starting point is 00:18:44 the D were going in that draft and then he, you know, he gets picked and finally gets a taste last night and gets a goal and an assist in a huge game for the senators. That's how you endear yourself to the coach and the fans. It does. It is. And they've been kind of waiting for this kid. You know, it's, again, I didn't get to watch him in Calgary with the hitman,
Starting point is 00:19:04 but, you know, you'd heard all about he's got, he's got some Evan Bouchard in him. Like it, you know, very, very poised with the puck. good first pass, bomb of a shot, like bomb. It's almost like he's Evan Bouchard, but he's 20 pounds heavier. Like he's there. It's a 6-3, 6-4, 2-30 type of thing. But he's got the poise. And I think the biggest thing is Steve Steyos, I talked briefly with him yesterday before
Starting point is 00:19:34 the game, and Steyos said, you know, we had him, we were going to bring him up earlier. But they went to bring him up and he got a slight injury. So then things stabilized. you're right the other night Shabbat that's 30 minutes he had been playing 28 to 32 minutes in the absence of Jake
Starting point is 00:19:54 Sanderson this that was Yakim Chuck's first assist he put it between his legs last guy back like who's doing that in their first game I is it you got to carry on just pause this stuff Jack
Starting point is 00:20:09 but I'm not going to talk about it because we got Perak here, you've got kids doing stuff. Some of the plays are unbelievable. And then on one hand, I see that and I go, what the are you doing? I know. It's a playoff game.
Starting point is 00:20:24 I was literally in, now, they started him. It's funny, I talked to Travis Green before the game. And I said, you know, different. We had Chum's son too, right? Dono's son, Jorian, got his first game. So I was texting with Chum and he was excited. And, you know, it was just, it was great. Like, I felt a sense of pride.
Starting point is 00:20:44 Like, keep in mind, the Ottawa senators are littered with people that I played with their dads. Like Jake Sanderson, I grew up with his dad and his mom. Ellen's from St. Albert. And then Mark Gregg, I played, you know, Ridley's dad. I played in Lethbridge with it. Like, it's, you know, when, what's the Gregor kid? Noah Greger, that's Colin's son. I played junior with Colin in Lethbridge.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Like you go, you look at left, I'm sorry, the Ottawa senators, their team. You know, Brady Kachukh. I've known. And for people who don't know who chum is, chum is Sean Donovan. That's Donovan. Jorri and Donovan gets called up. So it's just, you're looking at it.
Starting point is 00:21:32 I just, I felt this sense of pride. I was like, I was so happy for these parents. Like, you know, I knew what they were like as players, but. You know, just seeing Sean in the stands, it was exciting.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Two different players. I think Jorian's a guy who's going to be, it's going to take him a little longer to be an everyday guy there, but I think he's going to be an everyday guy. It reminds me a little bit of Ben Chirot. It can be physical, good skater, can move the puck. Yakim Chuck, it'll be interesting to see, because we can see the good stuff. I want to see when the bad stuff shows up and is it going to outweigh the good stuff because that's the one knock I've heard on him as his defensive play, right?
Starting point is 00:22:11 But that's the general consensus for kids nowadays, wouldn't it be? It would be a rare occasion where you're looking at kids that are making safe plays. Like we got kids playing playoff hockey right now. They're killing a penalty in their own end. And they're through the legs through the middle of the ice. It's like, what are you doing? But you see that. And then it works out for Yakubchuk.
Starting point is 00:22:38 And you're like, well, do you tell them just, yeah, go give her? or what's Green's message there? I think the message is, it's not the old major league, great play, don't ever do it again, you know, like it's like,
Starting point is 00:22:52 I think what you have to do is give them a long leash. The funny thing and the one thing that I know, you can speak to this too, I know exactly how I felt in my first game. I was terrified. I didn't sleep a wink the night before. This kid walked in like he was in a lawn chair.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Like it was like, We interviewed him after the second period. The guy had a goal and an assist. And Kenzie Lalonde is like, hey, how's your? It's like, yeah, it feels good. I was like, is he asleep? I'm trying to look through the. Like, I'm like, he's so casual.
Starting point is 00:23:29 And like, I never, I wished for that. Oh, you're right. Yeah. I wish you could have injected that in your veins. It would have saved me a lot of sleepless nights over my 17 years. Is Jack drunk? What is, what's going on with your? camera. That's a
Starting point is 00:23:42 home camera. Yeah, I've spent a Dean gets mad. I've spent hours trying to look at this. I can't figure it. Every time you move your head, it's moving around and it's like I just like, is it on a string? Like it's a new.
Starting point is 00:23:59 You're talking and it's like moving around. It's the Warner Bobblehead day. Bobblehead. But to see these young kids and right, you could still hear right? Yeah, I'm here. Kids there's no, and I'm sure there was internal excitement. I'm sure there was nerves.
Starting point is 00:24:18 They don't show it. They just like, I thought, I watched that Matthew Schaefer the other day. The kid's just incredible. Incredible. It's, you wish you had that type of, I don't know if it's swagger, confidence. There's, that gene has been taken out of this generation where there's that nervousness. I had nothing but nervousness. And I look at these.
Starting point is 00:24:41 kids. Yakubchuk, the one thing I've always known is, is offensively, I think he's a player. And what they were trying to do, I think that is, you know, allow him to play in every situation from the pro level and, you know, C penalty kill, C5 on five, work on his game away from the puck, because that's the biggest thing in pro game is how you play away from the puck. But he looks to be like he's going to be a player. And do you imagine where you've got a defensive core with Jake Sanderson, who's 23, and an absolute, he's a superstar.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Yeah. You got Thomas Shabbat, who used to be a 28-minute defenseman. Now he can play 22 and play really solid. They, you know, you put Yakum Chuck in there. They've got Artem Zub, who's really solid. And now this Jordan Spence is a player, too. They got him from L.A. He's 24 years old. Good skater can move the puck.
Starting point is 00:25:39 And in the five hole, they got this kid who's six four Tyler Cleven and got some meanness to him. And it's kind of a modern day Ret Warner. That's what he is. Like he can hit, fight, do it all. Great guy. For me, Ottawa's, they're on to something there. They got a pretty damn good team. I'll tell you that.
Starting point is 00:25:59 So that's the big picture. Short term because Shabbat is out. Yeah. Kind of indefinite. Definitely. Same thing with Lassie Thompson. and the other kid that came up. So those two are not an option right now.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Yeah. So short term, they obviously a huge night. They leapfrog themselves in. Is Yakimchuk and company, are they going to be able to, like what's? I think Yakim Chuck can hang around and be a difference maker. Like I think he can, I think if he's deployed properly, now I'll give an example.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Detroit on the road, Travis Green did a good job. Bob. He started, he found Yakumtruck Ice Time with Cleven. And then it was into Matt and Palo. And like, to me, he was, it was smart the way he was deploying him. Same thing with Jory and Dorian. Yeah. Donovan, sorry. And to me, like Donovan, I don't think he saw a shift in the third period.
Starting point is 00:26:56 They shrunk the bench. Now on Home Ice against Pittsburgh tomorrow, you can, you can manipulate that, right? You can have zone starts. You can get the matchups you want. Saturday 1 o'clock in Tampa, not the case. That's on the road. John Cooper's a master at manipulating rosters and coming, finding extra ice time for Kutrov and that.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Those guys are going to get trial by fire Saturday at 1 o'clock in Tampa on the road. But that being said, you know, Tampa, you look at strength of schedule. I'm sorry, Ottawa, strength of schedule. They have, I don't know what's going on here. People are calling me and Asher, he's pissed off. I sure heard about it. A chewed caramel. Listen, why is right now, you're upset that I gave you a heck about?
Starting point is 00:27:48 No, no, no. I'm trying to fix this. No, I'm in my, in the comments. Someone has offered help and I'm trying to follow along. Oh, okay. Heck illiterate. I'm totally paying attention. I'm too idiots.
Starting point is 00:28:01 They've got, if you look at strength of schedule, they've got the fourth hardest schedule and the rest of the way. So it's not going to be a cakewalk for Ottawa, but I still, I've said this all along, and I've got to be consistent. Now, I've got to change it a little bit. I always thought they were a best team outside the playoff picture. Now they're in the playoff picture. They're a really darn good team.
Starting point is 00:28:22 But they are going to have at some point, you're going to have a night where the goalies aren't that good or they're not that sharp, but they've got to limit those because they don't have much runway here the rest of this season. We can take a look at the East standings and kind of, again, it changed. Last night, we saw a lot of things. the islanders slide out, Ottawa moves in, Pittsburgh drops a spot, Columbus moves up, kind of a wild night, and that's what it's going to be like.
Starting point is 00:28:46 So, Boomer, if you want to throw Montreal in there, there is four points between 88 and 84. There's seven teams for five spots because, you know, the two in the metro is still up for grabs, the third in the Atlantic, and then those two wild card spots. And then you throw Detroit, Islanders, Ottawa, Boston, Pitt, Columbus, and Montreal in that mix.
Starting point is 00:29:10 So two of them, two of those seven are going to miss and they're good teams. So it's really going to come down to, you know, health, strength of schedule, luck, you name it, goaltending, all of those things. That's why, you know, Ottawa's not in the clear, but, you know, the islanders have lost a couple in a row. They, you know, they got beat up yesterday. They found a way to get back in that game, but it was too late. Detroit, if you look historically in the last two years, we ran aboard last night.
Starting point is 00:29:43 They've dropped off a cliff in March and April from a standing standpoint the last two years. So they're trying to avoid that here for a third straight row. Third straight year. So honestly, it's going to be a barn burner. It will be, yeah, yeah. are pun intended right to the end. I worry out of that group there, sorry, Jack, I was good. I worry the most maybe about Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:30:12 It just, it seems like they've. Well, I mean, they're playing with house money. I did something today. So I'm talking about Allmark in my opening tomorrow. So we did this board. We looked at sport logics analytics for all the goalies in the league. If you look at it and I know it was such a big story. worry line. Look at Stuart Skinner and how he's been on fire since he got to Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:30:36 If you look today, Skinner's numbers are better in Edmonton than they were in Pittsburgh now. He's had a market reset there in Pittsburgh. Now, that was, it was Sheelofs who played last night. But if you look at it, it was 24 games, I think, in Evanton and 20 games so far in Pittsburgh. and the numbers are close, but his numbers are actually better in Edmonton. So, you know, it'll be interesting to see, I'm going to see them live tomorrow. You know, we'll see if Sid can drag them into it
Starting point is 00:31:11 and Gino and the guy who's been unbelievable for them is Eric Carlson. He's turning the clock down. Yeah, yeah. Penguins back-to-back loss has outscored 113 in the last two games. And they have, they've been finding away to some points, but they've either been extra time losses. or the wins they're getting,
Starting point is 00:31:29 I think they have two regulation wins in last month, almost. That's the sort of thing. So I do kind of wonder about them. Meanwhile, we're sitting here in Calgary and watching the flames on a four-game win streak. The desperate L.A. Kings.
Starting point is 00:31:43 And I'm going, they're going to do it again. But, okay, let's just take a breath here. This is amazing for those kids, because it's not like it's Michael Backland who's delivering it. It's correct. It's, what's the kids,
Starting point is 00:31:56 Gridden? Gridden? Yeah, Matt Faye Gridden. I know, I'm butchering his name, but, you know, it's the kids that are getting. So they're getting some great experience, but let's not forget, strength of schedule. They've got Colorado three more times. They've got the six-game road trip coming up. So I think if you're, you know, a little bit mad about, hey, like, they're making, what
Starting point is 00:32:17 they, what the hell are they doing winning? I think you will see them be able to slide. It's one point separates basically that second spot. I think they will end up there when it's all said and done just based on what they have in front of them. Yeah. It's interesting. We talked about Yakimchuk. It was kind of the same thing in a way for Perek last night.
Starting point is 00:32:40 It was like, oh boy, this guy is having a, it's a roller coaster ride and then, you know, gets the goal at the end. And I agree with you. It's we do the thing at the end of the show every day. It's the tankathon. Okay, if the season ended today and the lot of balls, this. is what it's going to look like. The flames, they've won it twice, I think, in about the 30 times we've done it.
Starting point is 00:33:02 They fall a couple spots. They pick anywhere from fourth or fifth to sixth, their seventh. I'm telling you, you're going to get a hell of a player there. At the end of the day, it's going to be top 10, unless they do something ridiculous,
Starting point is 00:33:16 but I'm with you. They've got some tough. They are the league's worst road team. They have 10 wins on the road all season. And it's a massive, tough kind of a road trip coming. up. You got to be happy for them.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Yes. You take the wins because this has been, and again, I went through it 10 years ago in Toronto. We called it, on our show, we called it the dignified tank. Yeah. Where no cheating for effort. You get to see the future of what it looks like with some of the young players who getting into the lineup. You're excited about it.
Starting point is 00:33:52 You're thinking, okay, we've got nothing but prospects and picks coming. Craig Conroy, the vision is now clearer than ever. You should trust that he knows what he's doing because he's made some real shrewd moves. He's got currency to work with. They're going to have cap space to work with. To me, you just have to be methodical. And I love what they've been doing. I give full credit to that management group, to the coaching staff.
Starting point is 00:34:22 I think Ryan Huska is an unbelievable coach for this group. right now. I think he's been great. You see the future what it looks like in net. I like that Cooley's played well and challenged Wolf. This has been a good scenario for him. If you had a you know, a Jamie McClendon there and you know, you had to put him in every five games, instead of having Cooley push for minutes, this has made Wolf hungrier. It's made him better, too, because it's just not a foregone conclusion. Like to me, that's the type of stuff. stuff. I like what they've been doing there. Yeah. I don't stress about the four games.
Starting point is 00:35:02 We're into that stretch here now where we saw it with the Kings last night. We thought that they're going to have to come in. They're going to be a handful. And they were just okay. It has to, they have to be gutted to have lost a point. That's when they're looking at their schedule, it's okay. We got to, you ought to win in Calgary. And it didn't happen. Wondering your thoughts on Nashville? because they've now,
Starting point is 00:35:27 they scored five in the first period last night. They've won five straight. They're in a playoff spot. They're feeling it. Dallas is qualified for the playoffs. And I don't know that I worry about them because they just went on that 15 game point streak. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Pottinger led in four on eight and hasn't been great. They have one win in their last five. You don't want to stub your toe. No. Going into the playoffs. I just, which teams do you think? We talked about Columbus.
Starting point is 00:35:55 Who's sustainable and going to head in on a hot streak here? And who do you maybe think, better get it going here, boys. Vegas is another one. They dropped a spot in the standings last. Yeah, Vegas is the one that concerns me. And I've talked to Edmonton people this morning. And I said, if you're Edmonton, you don't sit there and sleep that Vegas has struggled recently because they're a team if they wake up, I think can do some damage.
Starting point is 00:36:19 And Nashville is interesting because I think a lot of people I'd written them off. Now, you look at the Pacific again, Nashville is not there. Utah's not there. But it's Seattle and L.A., basically, that are trying to chase Vegas and Edmonton. So L.A. is like, okay, Nashville's three points up on us, but Vegas is only four points up on us, and we've got a game in hand. So you're looking at that.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Seattle, you know, critical, they got a point last night, but that was a critical point for them because Florida was up on them four, two or three and a half minutes left. So, you know, Seattle's got two games in hand on both Edmonton and Vegas. So they're not out of the picture as well. So these last like 10, 12 games, very interesting in that Pacific. But Nashville, I look at Dallas, I think they could just, Coast is the wrong word. What they need to do is get healthy and feeling good about their game.
Starting point is 00:37:16 Everything's about confidence right now. And we've seen every team for the most part, including Colorado, go through a dip. I mean, Colorado's lost 13 games, you know, and lost points in 10 others. But like, if Colorado loses five more the rest of the season, I'm not worried about them. But it's just, it's how you lose and staying healthy.
Starting point is 00:37:39 This schedule is killing everybody. It's killing everybody. Like, you're just, you said, L.A. should have been loaded for bear last night. Like, just steamrolled the flames going, we need these two points that is so critical. it's like, yeah, we're playing because we've got a game
Starting point is 00:37:55 the next two nights from now. Like it's hard for those guys to rev up the engine every night unless you're absolutely in a fight. That's what's interesting for me. Does Ottawa go, oh, we're in a playoff spot and then, you know what? And then
Starting point is 00:38:11 have a little bit of a reset and all of a sudden they're on the outside looking in again. Nashville, I think, has had that hunger. I think the teams that have been in it for a while not complacency. They're just trying to manage the games as they're all just lumped together. I would think it would be one of those things,
Starting point is 00:38:28 it'd be for the coaches to worry about. You're like, please God, don't let us get 72 games into this thing. And then start to, well, we'll flip the switch. Three weeks from now, we'll be fine. Let's just get to the playoffs. We'll be fine. It's like, that rarely happens.
Starting point is 00:38:46 No, and that's where I think, you know, people in Evanton were like, are they going to be able to turn on a switch. Like Ken, you know, we saw that like last night, I had a split screen going. I was Evanton and Calgary watching. Evanton played really well last night. And you know, the one thing that stood out for me is McDavid didn't have to, he didn't play 28 minutes. At one point his minutes were like 18. It was right in par with the rest of them. They rolled four lines. They played tight D. They played more of a boring style game. They got, it's amazing you can get good
Starting point is 00:39:16 goaltending when you don't give up insane chances against. They did get a little lucky because I didn't think Vamalka had as good. So you got lifted after the second period. But you look at all these teams outside of the three in the West that have kind of been the juggernauts. That's, you know, Colorado, Dallas and Minnesota, there's that second tier of teams. That's, you know, Utah's in that. That's got Evanton in it. That's got Vegas in it.
Starting point is 00:39:45 You know, I'm missing other teams. But there's that second Nashville is now in there. like they're they're not dominant but on paper you're like no that i can see some them winning a round or two and maybe doing some damage so it'd be interesting to see out east it's it's craziness like i really think i think i still think Tampa is the best team in the east outside of buffalo too buffalo and tampa and and man oh man that's going to be right to the end i think i think it'll be a dog fight i mean they've earned it but it still is amazing when you think about it the Buffalo situation.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Buffalo is, there's two spectrums for me at the start of this season. It was Pittsburgh was the only team that was known as rebuilding, and they are fighting for a playoff spot and going to be, I think it's going to be a playoff team if they don't drop out here in the last 10 game. That was the biggest surprise for me.
Starting point is 00:40:39 And the other side is Buffalo where they are right now. Given where we all, if we all sat here at Christmas or whenever it was, when Rob Ray was on your show. It was the Calgary, really. They took off after Calgary. And to me, I think we're all like, you know what, not going to happen again. 14 years firing poor Kevin Adams can't get it together. We've talked about it on this show. Why are all these great players there and leaving? But on paper, they still look really good. And now they put it together. I really, they're such a likable team for me. I really
Starting point is 00:41:17 like them. Like, I like Bowen Byron. Like I know him a little bit just through friends of friends. But I look at that Tage Thompson. Another guy that, you know, we played against. I played against his dad, Grant, where, you know, I don't know, there, there couldn't be a farther apple away from the tree compared to the players. Former, former jet. Are your sons not, are they, your son's you? Are they far away from the
Starting point is 00:41:43 tree? No, they'd be more. Although, but that's where it gets amazing to me is because they don't play safe. They're still caught up in this new world of make plays hockey. I never, I did not want the puck, but they're more similar to me. Yeah, okay. They're not far from the table. Cage Thompson, like, couldn't be more different than the way his old man played. And I, you know, his old man, I played junior against his old man, Brent.
Starting point is 00:42:10 He played in Madison Hat, and I played in Lethbridge, like, just, His dad was tough as nails, like tough, tough. And Tage is tough. I didn't realize that that was his old man. Yeah, I believe, unless I'm miss speaking. That's Brent Thompson's boy, right? I've thought that for years. Now I hope I'm right.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Can you imagine if it's not? Nick Thompson from Reddere or something and it's not Brent Thompson's. I'm pretty sure that that's Brent Thompson's boy, Tage. We'll get our people on it. I think you're... Before I go. and I have to go soon, but please let me know if Brent Thompson's son is Tage, because now it's upsetting me.
Starting point is 00:42:52 There it is. Yes, yes. Yeah, there he is. Yeah, Brent. Brent was tough as nails, man. Tough, tough as nails. Stay at home. He was Rent Warner.
Starting point is 00:43:01 That's what Brent was. Beauty, too. Great guy. But, yeah, Tage is such a player. Like, he's actually one of my favorite players to watch. Brent's an assistant in Anaheim right now. Erica Branson? No, Brent Thompson.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Oh, Brent. Yeah, he's in Anaheim. I didn't know that. Ryan McGill is there, too. I was texting with Gilly last night. I saw Gilly on the bench there, yeah. He lost tracking these guys. Yeah, Brett Thompson.
Starting point is 00:43:29 He was part of the Winnipeg Jets 1.0 back in the mid-90s. Yeah, yeah. No, Brent's an awesome guy. Awesome. Well, and before we let you go, it's about, you know, this is the time of year when some guys fade and some guys step up. And that's how champion. and that's when Hart, you know, Hart Trophy is regular season,
Starting point is 00:43:49 but that's when the MVP's, the best players on the team, earn their stripes. And, I mean, you've, you kind of run down the McLennan name. You kind of have some, you know, self-deprecating. But it's good to know there's a champion and there's a, there's a real stud somewhere in the bloodline. Oh, yeah. I don't know who's stealing these pictures, but.
Starting point is 00:44:07 The U-9 Reds. Yeah, yeah. Look at that kid. I did. Pretty excited. You know it's my jeans, because look at the ears. the poor kid but he's a good kid. Yeah, I don't know
Starting point is 00:44:21 who stole that picture. It might have been off my wife's Instagram. That's pretty nice. I was very nice. How pumped was again, I don't know how much you share. It's your boy there, but you know, Mike Camilleri up doing the big speeches.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Cammy's his coach, right? Yeah. Cammy's such a great coach for him because Cammy's a lot like us, he's just chill. Like he wants to develop young, good men and athletes. He's like wins or losses, don't care. You know, March break, we're off.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Everybody go on vacation. Like he's, you know, he gets it. He gets it. But, you know, it sounds like next year, all hell breaks loose. Oh, give her, you got to, yeah, take it a little more. It's you nine. Come on.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Good after. Well, exactly. They're eight. That's the thing next year. Well, you've got to make some decisions in life here. Apparently, next year. year like the AAA starts and all hell's going to break loose. I don't know. I mean, I'm not, I sit in the corner with my headphones on and watch and, you know, listen to Barnburner.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Yes, I do. I listen to a bet. Okay, get out of here. All right. Brother. Bye. There you go. James McClennon. On the insider hotline of presentation of Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating, 403, 209, 4,100, checked about crystal clear calgary.com. We keep saying it over and over again. And something inevitably is going to happen in your home, whether it's a hot water tank or your furnace or something goes. It's just crystal waters. Crystal waters. They've done it for us. Huge thanks to them. Noodles, good guy. In Detroit last night, he's doing Edmonton radio, doing our radio. Guys busy. I would have thought.
Starting point is 00:46:17 He likes talking hockey. He does. Yeah. he sure does. It's interesting that don't need to get too deep into it, but I guess I just never really thought about it. Whose idea or who is wanting the color analyst
Starting point is 00:46:31 or the analyst of the game to be between the benches? Is it that person? I'm down in there. I'm feeling it. Is it a, I just want to be beside the players again? Because I can't imagine you're seeing the game better. There's not seeing it better,
Starting point is 00:46:46 but you're, you are feeling it better. And you know what it's like. Like if you go sit, well, at the dome in the lower suites, which are wonderful. And if anyone wants to invite me to have nachos and sit there, I'd love to. It's so much faster. And if you're right at ice level, you're going to see things that you, there's benefits from seeing it from afar. You can take it all in.
Starting point is 00:47:11 But when you're down low, you can see the puck's rolling. You can see the speed. You can see how quick it's happening. Yeah. I would think there's some definite advantage. manages to it for sure. There's like the big ones like on prime or the weekly ones where they'll have an analyst or two in the booth and then one between the benches and that obviously that's you're checking a few boxes quite easily there but I didn't realize that noodles was getting
Starting point is 00:47:37 concussed down there. I didn't have that poor guy feel bad for him. I think he's he's laying the groundwork for future. You think so? Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Starting point is 00:50:18 see what was going on. The big Turk taking on Rollo. I don't, I've never had big Turk. I don't really get it, but I know that there's passion there's big passion. There's an old school following for sure. Want me to ask one of my kids right now if he's ever had a big Turk? If they're, yeah, if they're around there.
Starting point is 00:50:38 Hang on, hang on. Yeah. Oh, there it. He clicked it off and that came on. That's all right. We saw it. That's all right. There is. have you ever tried a big Turk It's shitty Oh It's shitty they said it's shitty
Starting point is 00:51:01 Well there it is The Big Turk has been ousted Oh not even close Not even close Not even close I'm straight back in the Big Turk I am glad in a way I don't have anything against Big Turk
Starting point is 00:51:15 But you know what they're a very vocal fan base The last time they were in They felt their seating was this and that big Turk how are they not in the top well didn't even get to the dance buddy couldn't even get in there rollo a decisive win 959 to 380 congrats to team rollo advancing
Starting point is 00:51:37 convincingly that makes me feel good that makes me feel good now on the other side we were talking about the youth versus you know this is interesting the adult the moroc cultured. Yeah, Jack made some interesting comments yesterday about one of the wild cards.
Starting point is 00:51:58 Yeah. Cadbury's dairy milk taking on the Nestle Smarties. Smarties very, it's a Canadian thing. I'm not a huge fan, but I don't want to sway the public. I'm very curious to see which way this one goes. Pinder's a big smarty guy. He would have been, he was all in on Smarties.
Starting point is 00:52:17 He probably... The shoveler just made a look. She looked up the Big Turk, and she's very glad it has not moved. That's the look she made. That was the look. Yeah, not good. Not good.
Starting point is 00:52:30 She left. Smarties versus dairy milk. Boom! A little closer. Tight. This is really close for the first couple days. That's 751 to 590s. So basically just under 600.
Starting point is 00:52:48 Dairy milk moving on. The smarties are done. I'm fine. at this, not a Smarty's fan, feel like it's a childish thing, and it reinforces the fact that we have a mature listenership, that's the stupid word, and I can continue to cuss and swear, like I say. Right, they're cultured, they're mature, going to be shocked by no swearing. There you know. So there it is. We are set. It is the Sweet 16.
Starting point is 00:53:22 as we get things started. You did it that way. Look at this. Dairy milk. Enjoy it. Pop your bottles, I guess, and celebrate. But you got your hands full now. Because you're taking on Reese's peanut butter cups.
Starting point is 00:53:39 I know where I'm. I'm wondering where my votes going. Reese's peanut butter cups. The defending. Raining! Defending champions! From the last time we did a chocolate championship. The number two spot.
Starting point is 00:53:52 And you said it the other day, What will happen? What's going to happen? If Rollo plays caramel milk, they are two chocolatey treats with caramel inside. Well, I'll tell you what, Dean. What this will establish is who is producing the better chocolate because the caramel is probably very similar.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Yeah. No, it's the chocolate championship. Come through. The caramel inside the caramel milk is definitely a softer, more of a runny, because you remember, you see the commercials when they snap it and it kind of, it drips, you know, it's got the, much more of a liquid
Starting point is 00:54:27 texture to it whereas the rollo is more it's a chewier deal yeah like a half chewed caramel oh I feel for the caramel chocolate lover out there you must be torn your heart's probably in shambles right now
Starting point is 00:54:46 that's the one and two seeds and who they will face the three seeded Mars bar will take on the 14 ranked M&Ms. Is it peanuts? Is it the all chocolate? It's the M&Ms. So maybe that's an advantage. But that 14 versus three would suggest that they need all the help they can get. The Mars bar is a classic. You'd find it everywhere. It's chocolate. It's caramel. It's, it makes no apologies. It's just very, I don't know who wouldn't like. There's nothing. I don't
Starting point is 00:55:17 know that there's anything in there that you would say, oh, I don't like that if you're a chocolate lover. Maybe you don't like peanut butter. Maybe you don't like certain, you know, peanuts or whatever, there's no nuts in there to kind of, it's just a solid, solid chocolate bar. The number four seed, Kit Kat taking on the wonder bar. Now, there's four Kit Katz and a Kit Kat bar. Is it, are they four, is that an advantage? How do you eat the Kit Kat, Jack? Do you snap it off one and eat them one by one?
Starting point is 00:55:48 Yeah, one by one. Retro. I know you're not a big sweets guy, but. Yeah, it's one at a time. It's one at a time. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not a savage, disgusting human where I just go mulling about.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Built that way for a reason. Yeah, like you, because you could. You could open up the, the, the rapper and just kind of bite it. Like a savage. Yeah. I guess so. Yeah, I guess so. And I have to admit, this is tough for me because I love the Kit Kat, but I also, I do like the Wonder Bar.
Starting point is 00:56:21 I like the Wonder Bar too. It's kind of sneaky. I rarely have it. And then I have it. I like that. Where are we? Right below. The Snickers versus Arrow.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Two completely opposite sides of the train track here. Yeah. One's very heavy, thick, dense. Prides itself on if you're hungry midday, are you hangary? Do you need a Snickers, that whole thing? And on the arrow bar side, just very light and fluffy, we've got pockets, little air bubbles in there. Do you think that, are you paying more for the?
Starting point is 00:56:57 the child, for the weight, I've never thought of it that way. Mm-hmm. That's your 5.12. The sixth spot, Oh, Henry, taking on number 11, crunchy. Oh, Henry, again, it's got some nougut, some peanuts, some chocolate. It's gooey. The crunchy is a toffee covered chocolate bar. I know which way I would go in this one.
Starting point is 00:57:24 I'm not sure which way this one will go. Um, I feel like for a mature audience, maybe it's an O. Henry lead it. I mean, it's a six versus 11. I might say it, but. I don't know where the, I don't know that any of the young people, like the, your kids, are they eating either an O. Henry or a crunchy? Hmm. They're not reaching for it at.
Starting point is 00:57:49 Yeah, like Jack, are you and, are you, you, you're your dumb buddies? No. It's not one we're buying. No. Classic. Can't wait. 710. It's coffee crisp.
Starting point is 00:58:01 It's Mr. Big. A Canadian favorite. I don't know that I ever really taste coffee when I taste it, but it's got a distinct taste all of its own. Mr. Big. There's also some wafers in there, both kind of on the lighter side of the chocolate bar. This is not to be confused with a Snickers or a Mars bar.
Starting point is 00:58:19 Both delicious. My heart. My heart goes out to one of these two. These are two of my all-time faves right there. the Mr. Big and the coffee crisp have to say goodbye to it. It's like the Wild and the Stars potentially in round one. Somebody's got to go home. It's not fair.
Starting point is 00:58:33 And the 8.9. The delicious score and the equally delicious twixt. Kit Kat's got four twicks. Only got two. But again, it's light. It's kind of not so much a wave, kind of like a cookie on the bottom. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:58:49 And then some caramel, some chalk, but it's light. It's got a nice little snap to it. And the score bar, you can, Put that in your, you can eat it like, like it is. You can buy them. They got the bags where they little bite size. You put them in ice cream. You make something, they will make like a, the homemade score where you crumble up
Starting point is 00:59:10 crackers or whatever you try them. It's very popular, the old score. You put the score bits on top of the Paul Newman. Yeah. I'll tell you what, score out of the freezer. That snap. God, yeah. I've been, the latest issue I've had, the latest issue I've had.
Starting point is 00:59:27 with the scores of how maybe dr j cleaned my teeth too good yeah but because that's shit now is just getting right in there it is a yeah yeah yeah it's tough my uh the one that i live with she has a particular dessert that she likes to make it's got like it's a dip with you buy like granny smith apples and then i know exactly and then the score on top so you can buy the crumbled score none of the milk chocolate on it, just the inside the toffee kind. You could eat that whole bag, just pour it. Just lay back and just pour the whole thing right into your yap. Just the chocolate championship.
Starting point is 01:00:12 Jack, how do you feel about where we sit as we open up the, as we open things up today? Boys, I think Reese's is going down. Right off the, right off the hop. I'm going to get every single dairy model. person together and we're going to vote the shit out of this. I am anti peanut butter with the chocolate. I don't like Oh, Dean. So am I, pal.
Starting point is 01:00:35 I love a good classic chocolate bar like a dairy milk. Burris is going down. I love the dairy milk. Me too. Somebody was in on my ex account. It's like, oh, Cadbury's very good chocolate, but it's this. I've had them all.
Starting point is 01:00:52 And there's very good chocolate out there. Some of them it's hard to do. There is something about the milk chocolate. Cadbury. And you could put fruit, fruit and nut in there that. It don't matter. All power through.
Starting point is 01:01:04 It's so delicious. That's my take. How'd be happy to see it. Oh, if the one seed goes in round one, I mean, we'll have to. All bets are off.
Starting point is 01:01:19 So who did Reese beat? Do you guys remember in the final? You know what? I don't. Well, I seem to think it was caramel out, to be honest. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Hence the one, two. Yeah. Yeah. Hence the one too. And I, I couldn't believe it because I know people like Reese's, but I, all the way, it just kept winning and winning and then it went all the way. Whereas I would, I don't even buy it. Again, I like the Reese's pieces, which is kind of hard to make me a stupid.
Starting point is 01:01:51 I understand, but there's something about the texture. I just kind of like the little, little pieces, the way they click against your teeth when you have them. but the peanut butter cup melts in your fingers and that's peanut butter and that that weird kind of wrapper it comes in and cardboard the cardboard tube no thanks but i don't want to i don't want to try and point anybody in the direction jack does i do jack clearly does jack's got a vested interest yeah he really does jack cadbury have her stock yeah there you go big chocolate's got and sunk their teeth their hooks into jack you can vote
Starting point is 01:02:31 is it up are we up and running jack no i'll get the new bracket built out after the show i think we'll start it tonight and then go over tomorrow nice it'll be open for a few days round number one always the most exciting scintillating

Starting point is 01:05:24 If I ever, you know, start doing stuff. Well, once you start, though, it's just like everything. won't stop. I know. No, I think I could probably just do one thing and then I would be done. Well, you better be careful. Just before you jump into it. Right. Have a, have a dairy milk.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Yeah, watch, watch myself. Oh, I guess we should do. Let's get into it. It's the Pinda Report. It's a presentation of Village Honda. They pride themselves on having an amazing selection of used vehicles, not just themselves inside the Wood Automobile. Motive group.
Starting point is 01:06:01 They can't, you don't see what's on the lot that you're looking for. Come on in, sit down, cup of coffee, we'll go through. So this is, here's what's at this dealership. We can get it brought to you here.
Starting point is 01:06:10 They want to make things easy for you. And, and they're great at it. Anthony and everybody up there, great people, one of the OGs on the podcast, we appreciate them a great deal, Village Honda in the Northwest Automall.
Starting point is 01:06:22 Flames Nation. Dot CA. I mean, yeah, you're voting for chocolate, but you're also getting some, you're also getting some info. Beyond the box score. Flames fourth straight win puts a dent in King's playoff hopes and some instant
Starting point is 01:06:36 reaction. Ryan Pike is the Flames beat the Kings in a shootout. So a bit of a spoiler alert there. Yes, the folks are writing about another win, the fourth straight, three to two in a shootout for the Calgary Flames. It is, like you say, it's bittersweet. You don't know how to feel about it. we showed the
Starting point is 01:07:00 Zane Perek goal that was a big one for the for the flames at that point it's kind of gets them gets them tied in the third period they get to extra time they go to the shootout and Artemmy Panarin
Starting point is 01:07:13 for the L.A. Kings I didn't see that I wasn't thinking it at the time but there's some people who are hard to believe again smarter than me but they watch this shootout goal and I'm not sure what he's doing there. He's like get up come I get out get going
Starting point is 01:07:27 that's dirty I don't know that it's legal. Like it looked to be like even the puck came to a stop before he flips it in. What was that? That's what I'm saying. I don't know what he's doing. Is he telling Wolf to get out of his nets?
Starting point is 01:07:42 Or is he saying, I don't know what he's saying. But it's, uh, it's nifty. Should this be allowed? I don't know how you police it. I, I'm glad it's not my job. But some people, I say, I say let it be allowed because, you know what, the goalie's job is? it's just stop the fuck
Starting point is 01:08:04 stop yeah and it was afterwards I'm not sure who it was Jackie you guys had it on afterburner last yeah it was gold Mike gold says you know what that reminds me of that takes me back
Starting point is 01:08:16 that takes me back in time so this is a little bit of a split screen when Johnny Godreau did something similar cuts forehand flips it over top of the netminder now I'm not sure the panes
Starting point is 01:08:33 Aaron is like as an homage and as in tribute to Johnny Godrell, I'm going to do this move. If he does, that's, that's next world stuff. But, uh, hard to. And we would have heard about it. Yeah, hard to see the two side by side there and not think that they're, it's obviously very similar. But, um, so that be the game winner, obviously, uh, demoralizing. But, uh, you know, Yiger Sharon Govich, uh, we showed it before we can show it again.
Starting point is 01:09:03 and on purpose by accident. He's had a few of these. There was the one where I think it was a, puck was going into a net, into the empty net and he taps it. It would have been Backland's goal, but he got it. I think that was last year.
Starting point is 01:09:16 So he's coming in with a chance to win it and slides it through the wickets on Darcy Kemper. And immediately, uh, lets people know I, I goofed. Interesting. You should have just gone with it.
Starting point is 01:09:38 Yeah, because you would be like, that's unbelievable. It's like, did he really? Yeah, he did the Swirr. Around the world, Rhett. That's what they call that. So there it is.
Starting point is 01:09:47 That's the game winning goal for Igor Sharon Govich. The Kings, as we talked to what earlier, they've lost 18 times beyond regulation, which ties an NHL record. They are six and ten in overtime, four and eight in a shootout. And they're two games away from tying the NHL record for most overtime or shootout games played in the season. That's too many. It's a ton. It is a ton. So what's next for the flames? It just keeps rolling. It's a six-game homestand.
Starting point is 01:10:20 They play Tuesday. They play Thursday. They play it's every other night. One California team comes in. Another one comes through tomorrow night. The Anaheim Ducks. Tops in the division will be the next opponent for the flames. Brent Tops and led to Anaheim D. That's right. They've won three in a row, I believe, points in five of six. So they'll be desperate.
Starting point is 01:10:44 Also very desperate. Then the home stand will wrap with a game against Vancouver. Who knows what to expect in that one. And then it's a road trip. They have 11 games remaining, six of them on the road, all in the trip. The flames have won 10 of 35 road games this season. 10 wins gets them, that's the last. That's the worst road record.
Starting point is 01:11:13 Bobby Germany, I don't know where he, I mean, somebody goes through and does strength of schedule and then they determine, well, this is, you've got to play this many teams and this on the road and all this. So that means you, you have the third toughest schedule, the fourth toughest schedule, the fifth tough, make no mistake. The flames, it's going to be tough. So there you see it. The fifth toughest schedule remaining.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Colorado three times, Anaheim twice. Dallas once. And then the remainder, you see the Kings, Cracken, Mammoth, Vegas, Canucks. I don't know, I don't know about that right column, buddy. The easiest column? Yeah. I find it interesting.
Starting point is 01:11:57 The flames are what the flames are. They've got a tough road trip and we're all wound up. They've won too many, but they could just as easily lose the next, blah, blah, blah. I don't know. I think they're only going to climb so high. Go back, Jack. Those other four teams with the toughest schedule, one to four, they all need to win. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:12:19 Like, those four teams are the teams that are like desperate for points. They're in a dog fight. Islanders just slipped out. Boston has been pretty good, actually, but they're actually, they've got one. They're in by a point. Yeah. It's going to be a while. And I'm, maybe it's like this every year, and I guess it kind of is.
Starting point is 01:12:40 but you know Montreal they've got the third spot there in their division and then everything's kind of up in the air for the most part in the metro so it'll be a good finish it'll be a good finish last night we'll kind of walk you through it there were 15 games and you know what we didn't I was all busy doing this stupid
Starting point is 01:13:02 Pinder report we didn't even do the game yesterday come on Jack you got to you know here's tonight's schedule let's do the oh he played for we're doing all right no we didn't We didn't do the game yesterday. Oh, we only one game the day before. I would have been forever.
Starting point is 01:13:17 It would take a while. But when there's more, we do, we seem to do better. That is true. We'll try. There's only two night. It's not going to be a spot. Last night. Toronto beating Boston.
Starting point is 01:13:28 Bruins had been 3.0 and 2 in the previous five. So that's a costly loss there for the Bruins. Montreal Carolina. Dobish, 41 saves. The Cains outshot Montreal, 43, 19. Cole Coughfield, another goal and an assist. He's got 44. He's two back of Nate.
Starting point is 01:13:48 The Habs have won three of four, and they moved to third in the division. We talked about Ottawa. Carter Yakumchuk, goal and an assist. Did you want to do the whiteboard on the, the Yakimchuk? I'm facing the glass. I, well, this is more of an observation whiteboard than a, don't do this kind of thing.
Starting point is 01:14:11 I'm, noodle says it, called up first NHL game, massive playoff implications. Oh, here you go. And there is someone right there. Right there.
Starting point is 01:14:26 I, who boy. Good on you. Yeah. What a set you've got. But. That could have been your last shift ever. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:40 Because you talk about, he would have been gone. He didn't. have been gone. Gone. He didn't think he was going to get it. Great goal there from Stood's. Like that puck has to go back down
Starting point is 01:14:51 the wall. Oh no. It doesn't. No, I'm going to spit it. That has to go back down the wall. Put it back down low. Let the battle continue. What's great is that shot there where you paused it, Jack. If you were to say, if it was one of those
Starting point is 01:15:09 contests, what's about to happen? Right here. What's the player? Yeah. breakaway that's what you're watching this you're going yeah not oh my breakaway don't ever do it's kind of break away what is rep warner doing right about now back down the wall 100 back down the wall yeah backhand facing ass to the play yeah it's going down the wall it worked out so hey either way ottawa moves into the second wild card ottawa in a play off spot today for the first time since December the 3rd.
Starting point is 01:15:53 The, the senator's Instagram was having, you, you love the Instagram, right? The memes and the, uh, when the, when the teams, uh, their creative people go to work on their social media accounts. Yeah, no. This was from the senators last night post game. Uh, uh, uh, uh, ha, ha, ha ha ha ha. Because they're leaking oil. The Red Wings.
Starting point is 01:16:21 It's Motor City. Because it's an oil. Oil container. And they've got eyes in it. It's got eyes in the mouth of it. It's crying. That's how that goes. Florida.
Starting point is 01:16:40 They beat Seattle 5'4. It was game 2000 for Paul Maurice. We were talking about him, I guess, late last week as the Panthers came through. Crackett have lost four straight and eight of their last 10. They're five back. of Nashville. Islanders lose to the Chicago Blackhawks. They've lost three of four and fall out of the playoff picture, at least for the moment. Matthew Schaefer played 3159 last night. A record for most minutes by a teenager in a single game in NHL history. He had an assist. He was
Starting point is 01:17:13 plus two. And I again, I'm taking this from somebody's social media account. So it may or may not be true, but sport logic who does scoring chances and that sort of thing. Scoring chances when he was on the ice, 36 to 9, 4, and goals were 2-0 for the islanders when he was on the ice. Is this guy the greatest defense
Starting point is 01:17:37 when this ever played? Are we, like, is this what's what we're about to witness? The Blue Jackets win again. They move into second in the metro coupled with something else that happened last night, Jack. Jackets are 9, 1, and 4 in their last 14. Marty Nachis, two goals,
Starting point is 01:17:53 abs of one three in a row. Chris Latang hits the 800 point plateau. It's back-to-back losses now for the penguins. They've not been playing very well. We'll do another one here. I'd like another Warner Whiteboard if we could. I think I love it that. Again, I kind of ask you to put
Starting point is 01:18:10 yourself, this is Parker Wetherspoon, the defenseman. He has the puck. And that's Nathan McKinnon, who's going to be, it's first period, we'll be applying some pressure. Break away. See? Let's go back.
Starting point is 01:18:31 Let's go back. See, that's again, this guy's even on his forehand, which is even better. Right. Into the corner, down the wall. Get this thing out of,
Starting point is 01:18:42 oh. Yeah, sees it. I've got one side, both I'm hooking, I'm slashing. I've, oh,
Starting point is 01:18:50 shit. I can't catch him. I can't trip. him. I can't stick him. Yeah, it was, uh, uh, Jack, your thoughts. Yeah, that was pretty bad.
Starting point is 01:19:04 And it didn't get, it didn't get much better. Yeah, they tied it up after this. And then the end of the first was brutal. It was like back to back to back. Yeah. Is it because they're not as good as the other team? Oh, they just smoked them red. Yeah. So, I mean, they've had a tough schedule.
Starting point is 01:19:19 They played Carolina three times. They played these guys twice. Okay, Jack, cut your mark. I don't want to get whining and telling me. I'm not whining. I'm just saying. Oh, look at the time sclergy. Look at us stickers. Lightning and the wild.
Starting point is 01:19:40 Tampa Bay first game home after road trip. Uh, oh, could be trouble. Uh, we'll walk you through a little bit of what happened in this game. It was, uh, it was feisty. These two teams don't see each other a whole lot. I hate each other. Well, you know what this is? This is a little.
Starting point is 01:19:53 Team Canada, Team USA, Coop versus Billy G. Oh, maybe. So, Corey Perry, Mike McCarron was picked up just before the deadline from Nashville. Corey Perry is 40, and McCarran is like, I guess we're going to go. Something seems to have gotten said, and Perry takes one. He takes an uppercut right to the jibs. There was a shot of him. I didn't get two.
Starting point is 01:20:21 Now this is Scott Sabrin. He comes in, hits Quinn Hughes with a heavy check. Equin Hughes has got, ooh, kind of got me in the shoulder. So Nick Felino, and new on the scene, as you know, he says, all right, we're going to go. You hit our guy. We're up to nothing. I don't want to give you any, uh, I don't want to give you guys any spark, but we're going. And these guys go toe to toe retro.
Starting point is 01:20:48 Tough dudes. Yeah. This is, this is one of the dandies of the year. and Nick Falino, he's late 30s, right? He doesn't need to be doing this stuff. He's good at it. But he's good at it. And I guess good on Sabrin.
Starting point is 01:21:09 It wasn't really a dirty hit, but he didn't think so either. But you hit our guy. I don't mind the old school. Some of it's got to come back. Well, and I like here at the end retro. So Sabran's, Sabrin's taking him now. And you know, we see it as, hey, good fight, good fight, man. And Felino's like, no, no.
Starting point is 01:21:28 Look at Saburn. He's like, yeah, yeah, good. He grabs the shirt. He's like, no, no, listen. Hey, hey, don't you fucking hit him. Here's your game winner. I love those ones. That the deck win?
Starting point is 01:21:43 Upsie Daisy. Off the end boards, glove pad, churnack, back of the net with 250. Is the ref waving his hands that he didn't think it went in? Yeah, I guess. I don't know. He is. It hit the camera. Sure did.
Starting point is 01:22:00 And came out. I don't know. gosh, he's right there. But we can't say anything about referees. No, we love that. Can't do it. Tampa 4-0-1 in their last five. They're within two of the Buffalo Sabres for Tops in the Atlantic.
Starting point is 01:22:15 The Nashville Predators, don't look now. Philip Forsberg's on a heater, 12 points in his last five games. Preds scored five in the first period en route to the lopsided win. Sharks are cooked. Preds have won five in a row. Sharks have lost. five in a row. Sharks are cooked. I think the sharks are cooked. It's too bad. It's exciting. I like them as a
Starting point is 01:22:39 guy kind of up and comer team, but I don't think it derails anything they've trying to accomplish over the next couple years. Dallas loses to New Jersey 64. Come on Dallas. What are we doing? Wyatt Johnston, two goals and an assist. He's hit 40 on the year. 24 power play goals. The Stars have lost three straight, one three and one in their last five. We talked about it with noodles. Ottinger four goals on eight and got pulled for Casey the Smith. They're second in the central. They're well back of Colorado. They've got a good
Starting point is 01:23:13 cushion on the wild. They're waiting for the playoffs to show up. The Jets beat Vegas, four to one Shifley. Goal and two assists. Jets points in six of seven, but are still five back of Nashville, who's red hot. Vegas has lost four of five. They've lost 10 of 14 and slide from second to third division. We'll talk about how that happened as well in a moment. The Blues, good to see. Hey, good job St. Louis. It's getting a big win, beaten Washington 3 Zip.
Starting point is 01:23:43 Oh, Joe Hall for 21 saves for the shoutout. Bit of a dirty play here. A bit of a dirty one. As old, whatever his name is, Philippe Gagnon Dubois there, he takes down Robert Thomas. Now, something happens because Thomas is getting an interference call. So you'll see him there. So now Pierre Luke grabs them
Starting point is 01:24:07 And it's A bit of a slew foot Bit of a choke slam Kind of throws him down Thomas tries to run a pick And Thomas runs the pick It says well
Starting point is 01:24:21 Screw that I'm taking you down with me And he says you're coming You're coming with me sir Match penalty there for Dubois A match Match match Match
Starting point is 01:24:37 A match? Match. Okay. Well, who might argue with the refs? I've never fashioned them in my life. Can't do it. The, uh, elsewhere last night. Does anyone, is, am I, am I, I guess he throws him, but I don't know.
Starting point is 01:25:01 Am I crazy? It doesn't look like a match. I think they're on eggshells right now. The, the refs and the player safety and all of them. that, you know, can you Here's the thing, if you believe in what you do and you do a good job at it, you shouldn't ever be on eggshells. You should. Don't worry about
Starting point is 01:25:23 the outside for you. Yeah, confidence of saying, we're great at what we do. And typically they are. Yeah, the chat is trying to kind of nail down is it's a bit of a rock bottom. It's kind of a because he goes from behind and I'm not sure. Maybe he's got something new there, Pierre Louvre Dubois. I don't mind it. Yeah. Clearly worked. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think he was mostly annoyed that Thomas is running a hard pick.
Starting point is 01:25:52 He's like, what the hell? What are you doing? I think we're fast going to the playoffs here, bud. Shell. Oilers 5-2 over the mammoth. McDavid goal number 400 of his career and point,200 on the same night. Third fastest to 1,200 points. He got there in 784 games.
Starting point is 01:26:14 Mario did it in 593, Wayne in 5,000. 504. Oilers, three wins in the last five, moving past Vegas to second. Those two teams, Vegas Edmonton, play on Thursday. And elsewhere, the ducks beat the Canucks. Next opponent for the flames is Anaheim. John Carlson, three helpers, Granland, two goals. Now get this, Rhett.
Starting point is 01:26:38 Are you ready for this? Are you similar? I'm ready. Oh, yeah. Last night, three Carlson's and three Pettersons. John Carlson, Leo Carlson, Lenas Carlson, Elias Pedersen, Elias Pedersen,
Starting point is 01:26:56 Marcus Pedersen. Okay. Bleu your mind. Yeah. Aquavit. Aquavit. Yeah, there you go. So we've looked at the standings,
Starting point is 01:27:11 and we can do it one more time. I'd like to do it again, Dean. We can do it now? We can't just hang on. Look at all those scores. Look at them all. So which ones help us? Chicago one.
Starting point is 01:27:26 Chicago, St. Louis. St. Louis won. Yeah. That's good. That's good. Vancouver was in it. I think it was 2-2 at one point, but they did not feel like. I don't trust that Vancouver's any part of the conversation to be quite honest with you.
Starting point is 01:27:41 But there was, like those are two teams that are right there, St. Louis and Chicago. So if we could have just done the right. thing. That's right. Boy. Didn't, but had a chance to, but certainly didn't. Oh. Standings. Let's take a look at the West. Standings.
Starting point is 01:28:00 Before we move on, our stream has been taken off YouTube. And this happened last night as well. Taken off. Yes. I think it's the highlights. Someone's after us. Hmm. Highlights, really? Because we've showed
Starting point is 01:28:17 highlights for years. I know. So the show's over? No, we're still live on X and Facebook and I can, I can just end it and grab the file. But it's off for now. Really? Maybe it's not enough Canadian content. That damn, didn't she?
Starting point is 01:28:40 Well, we'll, we'll speed her up here. There's your, there's your West Dannings talking about Edmonton leaprogging Vegas into second spot. They're still very tight. Kings don't, they get a point, but Nashville, they extend that lead with the victory. We see Seattle, they lose, Utah losing regulations. So there's some drama still to be had in the West. The East is really where it feels like it's the hardest to kind of predict what's going to happen there.
Starting point is 01:29:10 With Montreal, still, they're not home and cool. They got the 88 points there, Boston 86, Ottawa 85, Islanders 85, Detroit 84. There might even be somebody else down there that we're not even seeing that could come up. And Pittsburgh, I'd feel for you, Jack. That's a scoop there. Tonight, a pair of games, Boston back at it. They visit Buffalo. Sabers back home after a four-game road trip.
Starting point is 01:29:38 They had that four-game win streak and against Anaheim. They still have points in 13 or 14. I think they're 12-1-1. Bruins points in 4 of 5. We can play the game if you want. Uh, Boston, Boston Buffalo. Ooh. Dave Andrewchuk.
Starting point is 01:29:58 Dave Andrew chuck. Rangers in the Leafs. No implications whatsoever here as far as the playoffs are concerned. Uh, I'm trying to pick as someone different. I know. Yeah. It's, um, Domey. Ty.
Starting point is 01:30:15 Yeah. Ty Domi. I'm going to allow it. So there you go. That's the hockey story. Jack, how do you feel about us doing this show? I mean, what do we do? It's back on YouTube now, but it's just annoying.
Starting point is 01:30:28 I don't know what's going on. This has happened last night during Afterburner. What goald say? Someone's out to get us? It feels that way because we've been doing the same show for four years. So did you have to start a second stream? So, yes, it's annoying. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:50 I'm sorry, Jack. I don't know. I'm going to have to call the bosses to see if they know what the deal is. Yeah, I'm not going to lose any sleepover. We do what we can do here. Yeah. Maybe it's after you shit-talked Reese's. You said you're going to try to get, you don't.
Starting point is 01:31:14 That the fix, you're trying to get the fix in. It feels like an inside job. I'll be true. I figure out. Major League Baseball's regular season. opens tonight. The San Francisco Giants hosting the New York Yankees. Max Fried will fire for the Yankees.
Starting point is 01:31:31 The Giants will counter with Logan Webb. It's on your Netflix. Did you say, Love Netflix. Today? Correct. Oh, man. I love.
Starting point is 01:31:41 Just the one game, though. I'm not to sit at the ballpark. You've talked about hot dogs the other day. You just wait. You just wait. So there it is. Get your Netflix on. Get your Yankees on, your Giants,
Starting point is 01:31:56 classic teams, great jerseys. All right. Jays will open on Friday as they take on the athletics. Kevin Gosman. Hawaiian T-shirt Day, Wayne T-shirt Day. That's right, yep. Kevin Gosman is the opening day starter. The A's will go with Luis Severino.
Starting point is 01:32:14 The A's are still the athletics. And where do they play? They will play once again, the majority of their games at Sutter Health park in West Sacramento, California. Okay. It's a AAA park. It's kind of their home for at least, I guess, through the 2027.
Starting point is 01:32:33 Easy travel for us? I'm not sure. If it were West Sacramento, if it were East Sacramento, West is tough, tough part of town. Yeah. They are going to play some games in Vegas this year, which is where they're ultimately going to end up, Summerlin, which is a, you know, on the outskirts there. That's the AAA, other than the Athletics. Another tough part of town.
Starting point is 01:32:55 A real tough part of town. But yeah, the athletics and I, because I know there was a lot of, they're not going to get this ballpark built. This is not happening. But I actually did a little, there's some guy. It seems like every day he's just going to there to the site and taking video on his phone.
Starting point is 01:33:12 Hey, the beams are going up and there's the dug your hole to got the things. So they are, it's going to be at kind of right by MGM Grand, the Excalibre, because they, tore down whatever, the Tropicana there. And that's where the new ballpark's going to go. So when that happens, it'd be a pretty cool spot. Pretty cool spot. Be a nice combo, some playoff hockey and shirts.
Starting point is 01:33:38 I'm up for that. I am up for that. You talked about food. And Pinder had this one the other day, the 999 at City Field in New York. Some good news is that, yeah, it's going to be at City Field. but if you can't get to New York, it's also happening in other parks around Major League Baseball. Philadelphia, Coorsfield, Denver, Kansas City, San Francisco, Houston.
Starting point is 01:34:03 They're all doing the 9-99. So I don't know how big the beers are, like Pinder says. Got to take them all at the same time. Is that how that's sitting there getting warm? Are you sitting with that on your lap? Here's the secret. I've already thought this through for all you idiots out there. we're all
Starting point is 01:34:22 we love being together and sharing the joy of the great game or baseball you just take nine buddies and you buy one of those packs yeah yeah and everyone gets one
Starting point is 01:34:35 right it's good to us great idea yeah what if you don't have exactly nine are you just dumping the extra beers out and throwing the hot dog in there? I think it's such a deal you probably could but regardless you can push yourself and do more than nine or
Starting point is 01:34:49 grab some haughty from the section over. It's good. Yeah. It's about food. You go to the ballpark. Grab a dog and a beer. But there are, there are some teams out there.
Starting point is 01:35:08 It's like, let's, let's elevate our game a little bit. Let's try and do a little bit more. Jack's going to just roll through some of the things. And I grabbed these last night. Some of the ballparks, very proud some of the teams, just trotting some things out. This is the Sanchez sliders in Philly, hot chicken sliders with honey stung tenders tossed in a hot spice blend with pickles,
Starting point is 01:35:30 garlic aoli, and hot honey sauce. I'm all in. Oh, who, who, who, all in. The pickles, the. That just, yeah, all in. I figured you might be. I did, I was thinking of you as I was grabbing these last night. So I'm, I'm with you.
Starting point is 01:35:50 That's in Philadelphia. There are some others in Philly. This is the, I think that's just kind of your standard. That's in Kansas City, the chicken and waffle cone, boneless wings and a homemade waffle cone with dipping sauces. Comes in the little, the metal. I don't think you get to keep that. That's so fairly standard, but delicious.
Starting point is 01:36:17 That, what is that one? That is the ice and Krispies or what? That's the Schwar bowl. That's in Philly. For Schwarbs, the Schwerbaum Sunday, soft serve with funnel cake, fried strawberry uncrustable, strawberry sauce and fruity cereal pieces. Okay. My kids would crush that. Because the uncrustables.
Starting point is 01:36:40 I've never had them. My kids have. I understand that. So I guess they've deep fried that son of a gun and then put a bunch of stuff on it. I don't mind that. All right. I might have to get the Philly all of a sudden. that is the lobster putteen in Boston
Starting point is 01:36:56 French fries lobster meat clam chowder and crispy bacon all served in a custom lobster what what is the ingredient list that you just lobster putin fries lobster meat clam chowder and crispy bacon
Starting point is 01:37:19 I mean lobster It got me. Yeah, that's all right. That's all right. I've got to get the Boston. Didn't you say that the lobster rules the best at the, yes, yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:44 And I can't tell you, if it's cold or hot, I don't know what's better. They're both so good. It's difficult. It's difficult. Okay, so we've got to go to Boston. All right. this is the beer bat
Starting point is 01:37:59 98 ounce team branded souvenir vessel with attached lid and embossed wood grain texture you can get these in San Fran Kansas City and in Denver that seems like trouble because that is exactly what a guy like Pinder is going to purchase
Starting point is 01:38:17 if that's two and then he's going to be swinging them around and they're full of beer yeah because I would think you it's going to get warm, it'll be full of foam at some point, and then you're going to be full of beer yourself, and you're going to want to swing that thing around and hit somebody.
Starting point is 01:38:34 Yes. Good luck, San Fran and wherever else they were doing it. Yeah, Denver. That there, we're back going back to Boston. That is the Kobe beef hot dog topped with lobster meat, bacon, chives, and butter on a toasted brioche bun. Now, I think they overtosted that bun to a certain extent, but I'm all in on that. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:03 Yeah. I don't know how, like that bun that they do, right? It's like a loaf of bread that they slice and then they slice it again. Damn. It's good. Do you like the lobster roll, Jack? I don't mind it. I wouldn't go.
Starting point is 01:39:20 Fake. Yes. Yeah. All right. Next one there. I think that was, uh, I believe this is, hmm. That's either the mac and cheese or some sort of spicy. That's, yeah, okay, so that's the brisket donut.
Starting point is 01:39:41 So they take brisket. Brisket donut. Mold it into a donut shape and then fry it with barbecue sauce and homemade mac and cheese and grated cheese on top. I'll tell you what. It's not going to taste bad. It's not going to taste bad. It's not going to taste bad.
Starting point is 01:39:58 It doesn't look like, doesn't look where the damn. No, I'm a, it does. It's, yeah, it's not one of those that. Yeah. But there's a comfort there. I'm tying into it. Uh, the next one is the Glyzilla. A two foot one pound hot dog, which they say designed for sharing.
Starting point is 01:40:18 Well, thanks for the, thanks for that. Not sure many people are doing that, but they got some mac and cheese on there. Yeah. It's a two-footer. The Glyzilla. This is the San Fran, the charseou dog, footlong dog charseu sauce, Coupie mayo fried onions and green onions. I can get down with that.
Starting point is 01:40:46 I love hot dogs. It's a hot dog. What's a hot dog? Different stuff. Yes, sir. This is boozy ice cream in Denver. 21 or older with valid government issued ID so you can get
Starting point is 01:40:59 if you need it. I'm not sure what the liquor is that would go in there. But maybe you like sweets after all. I like drinks too, so maybe I'd just have a drink. And we wrap it with our buddy Jack. We're going to go to, was it P&C Park? Yes, sir. One of the best parks in all of Major League Baseball.
Starting point is 01:41:21 It's the heavy hitter dog. Footlong hot dog, with corn bread coating yellow mustard, pico de gallo served in an extra special baseball bat boat. Hell yeah. I don't know what a bat boat is, but it's a, it's a mahusive, almost a corn dog, hot dog with mustard.
Starting point is 01:41:43 And I do like the pico de gallo. That's nice, nice touch. That's a good touch. Nice touch. So I'm starving and want to watch baseball. Tough spot. That'll do it. It's not a tough spot because you can do that now.
Starting point is 01:41:58 Probably could. Go dig out to have a Glyzilla. I'm not sharing. You guys crazy? Village Honda $2 million buy-in event is on. They want to buy your vehicle any make, any model any year. No purchase necessary. Complementary appraisals, competitive pricing.
Starting point is 01:42:15 If you get a deal done, payment in 24 hours in Northwest Automol online at village honda.com. that's the deal there um Tyson Nash have you ever been referred to as a was it a half chewed caramel I don't know if I have not to my face yeah I've heard him say that before that's yeah I gotta get try to get him on the show Nasher Nash yeah Nashville would be good Nash would be good Nash would be good we won't talk about the camloops thing necessarily, but those were good teams. You should feel bad.
Starting point is 01:43:00 I don't feel bad. Actually, doesn't bother me at all. I've got worse losses. Trust me than some. I mean, but it's, you know what? The Florida one, don't feel bad about that one either.
Starting point is 01:43:14 Tough team. Very similar, right? Colorado, so good. Hall of Famers everywhere. You guys in Florida. Couldn't get even one win against them. Nice story. Better team won.
Starting point is 01:43:26 Saskatoon Blades taken on camloops. Back in those days. Nice story. When you look at it and the guys that went on to play pro compare it to the two teams, one. Was Huska on that team? Yeah. Huska was on that team.
Starting point is 01:43:50 It's a winner. Shane. I don't know why the hell we think he's not going to win. Yeah. It's in his blood. Mm-hmm. That's what he does. Guys crazy.
Starting point is 01:44:04 I think they, and you know what? Honestly, I think even if you talk to Conroy, what are you going to do? You got to be pissed off? No. You made your trades.
Starting point is 01:44:14 You've done what you did what you're playing. Could you, what could Husky even do differently? Took away ice from White Cloud? Well, he's done. Yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 01:44:25 he's done some of the. They're supposed to be four or five caliber defensemen. Yeah. What are we? So we're going to. There's nothing you they could do. And circumstantially, love that word. The teams that have come in and played like shit.
Starting point is 01:44:43 We kind of have. Yeah, Florida was terrible. St. Louis is not a good, I mean, whatever. Tampa Bay was checked out. They almost pulled it out of the way. And L.A. in an absolute must-win type of scenario was a flat fuck Friday. So Carolina was no screaming. No.
Starting point is 01:45:01 It's not. Matt Vig Gridden played 1844. Perfect. Two minutes and three minutes on the power play. Zane Perak, 1743. For Stevich, not 20 minutes, but he still played just under 17. I get it. Shit happens.
Starting point is 01:45:24 And I and, hey, a seventh pick compared to a second pick would suck. Yeah. But only if you f up the seven pick. And you have been around it. I've, I just think of those years working at the dome where that death march is on and you're not making the playoffs and it's just it's dark and it's miserable and all. That's not good for anybody.
Starting point is 01:45:52 No. And I don't. These guys are working hard and playing hard enough and the goaltending has been good and the competition has been flat. Yeah. Flat off Friday. it's very possible that they lose eight out of the next 10. Like I,
Starting point is 01:46:14 yeah, I don't know what that they're not, they are not very good in the road. That's, there's no, there's no doubt about it. And those are some tough teams. And we,
Starting point is 01:46:23 tough teams aren't winning. Like, and again, it happens every season, where teams that shouldn't win, win some hockey games. Yeah. Who was it there?
Starting point is 01:46:37 Was it the, was it Chicago beat Pittsburgh? to keep them out of the playoffs. Was it last year or the year before? I remember two, yeah, two years ago, Detroit got that big overtime win or whatever to stay alive and needed some help. I think Dallas needed to win and they couldn't get it or the wild, whatever it was. Yeah, like. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:54 I was going to say, like, we do the show every day. So right now it's, well, they won four in a row. They may never lose again. But then you lose two and rows. Oh, they may not win again. It's just, it's kind of the world we're in. They're going to end up. And I don't think the math.
Starting point is 01:47:09 is going to dictate whether they get first overall or where they finish will dictate if they go to seventh, which to me seems worst case scenario. Yeah. Because I just think there's too much spread to get to the sixth spot. I think that's kind of what it is too, is just doing this stupid, this spin in the wheel thing every day.
Starting point is 01:47:33 It's like, oh, you're not going to pick first anyway. You're not winning this lottery chance. You're in second. You had the second best odds and you still weren't winning the bloody thing. You were sliding to four. You have an 8% chance of picking first overall. Yeah. We'll do that.
Starting point is 01:47:51 We've got super chats. Quick message for GMC Truck Month. It's on now at GMC. You want something reliable, tough and ready for whatever the schedule throws at you. That is the 2026, Sierra 500 Pro-Graphite crew cab in a nutshell. It can be yours for 0% financing for 72 months, factory 2-inch lift. Offroad suspension, 5.3 liter V8, it's one ready for anything truck. Don't miss out.
Starting point is 01:48:15 Get to your local GMC dealer and take advantage of Truck Month before it ends. I saw a thing on, uh, some Mason Raymond out talking about Truck Month. Hi everybody. I'm Mason Raymond. Now's a great time for you to get into a GMC truck. One of the nicest guys in the world. Shut up, Mason. Get out of here.
Starting point is 01:48:39 Is it windy and snowing out? Cochran. I bet it is, Mason. I bet you're freezing yourself. It's right. What do you want? Should we do super chat? We've got to do some bet three, six five bets.
Starting point is 01:48:52 Oh, shoot. I didn't give them to Jen. I don't know that I did bets. I got bets. I got bets. Yeah, I took care of it. See, when pinners away, everything just falls to pieces. Yes.
Starting point is 01:49:04 We're just in such a tough spot without Ryan. I don't know. When's he going to be back? Hockey fans, if you're tired of waiting for the end of the game to get then listen up. Ready to move on to the next puck drop. That's why Bet365, an official partner of the NHL has three goal early payout. If the team your riding goes up three goals at any point in the game, they'll pay your bet out early.
Starting point is 01:49:26 Hockey moves fast. And now with three goal early payout, there's one less thing you have to wait around for. Bet 365, download the app and see what early payouts all about must be 19 or older. Please play responsibly. Jackie Boy, what do we got, buddy? All right, boys. I've got two games tonight. Boston played yesterday.
Starting point is 01:49:44 They're heading to Buffalo. This is a parlay, by the way. So we're going to say Sabres money line here at home. Should dominate the Bruins. And then we got Toronto playing the Rangers. The Rangers are dog shit. They, what was it, 10 shots? Shrine.
Starting point is 01:50:00 I know. I mean to have a little bit of life yesterday against Boston. So I'll take them at home as well. Parlay that up plus 200. Nice. And only the two games. Yeah. Plus if you're feeling some baseball.
Starting point is 01:50:11 I know we talk about hockey. the three goal early palers. There's a baseball game. Some futures in baseball. We did that yesterday. Sabers, Tage. We talked about Tage Thompson.
Starting point is 01:50:22 Maybe he's, feels like that would be kind of, you know, the barn burner bump maybe for some Tage Thompson. There you have it. It's our hockey bets for today. Get on it. Hockey moves fast.
Starting point is 01:50:34 The three goal early payout. It's one less thing you have to wait around for. Get paid out. They go up by three. You're getting paid. paid early. Thank you, bet 365, be 19 or older, and please play responsibly. Now, because of the, uh, the little thing that we had going with the show,
Starting point is 01:50:53 the first part of the show went, then we had to start it up again. Zook, we de galore. Yeah, we don't have a ton of, uh, so I apologize to the people that would have put money in and did the super chats in the first part of the show. Maybe we'll find a way to make it up to you or we'll just take the money and give it to these centers and you'll be all right with it. That's probably how that's going to work. Hmm?
Starting point is 01:51:11 That's what it's all about anyway. There's Ken. $5. Someone reporting the podcast for policy violations on purpose. Not cool, man. I hope YouTube has a policy for false reporting. Hashtag hot jack summer tea. How did they figure these things out or is this just opinion?
Starting point is 01:51:27 That's an opinion for sure. I don't know. I mean, we've been doing the same show forever, right? We've been doing things the same way, unless YouTube's changed their rules that I'm unaware of. But now we're getting. restricted, age restricted,
Starting point is 01:51:45 bend, I don't know what's going on. Well, it is a pretty racy, you know, pretty racy show. Yeah, I think Rhett saw this coming. I told you. Was you a month when this bill passes, we're, who? Oh, man. Can you imagine how happy we'd all be?
Starting point is 01:52:05 Oh, like the kids are off on Friday. If this is going to happen, could it be, could it tomorrow? You find out sooner than later? I don't want to go in tomorrow because we've got a special. Yeah, yeah. All right. Well, that's, yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:19 It's not our problem. No, it's not. Maybe it is, but I, I'll figure. I like to ignore things. Maybe we just need to just completely change everything that we're talking about. We could. Just change shift gears on the, on the fly, start talking about something completely different. Baltics?
Starting point is 01:52:38 Nope. Medical devices. Nope. No. I know you love. that recipes um you just talk what's the most comfortable comfortable comfortable chairs boomers what's the most comfortable chair to sit in what's the sandwich with boom oh that'd be all right so we did the super chat we did the same do we want to do
Starting point is 01:53:04 the tankathon jack i'm going to leave it up to you let's pass i don't want to pull anything else up on the screen today this is just jack i'm sorry jack i feel bad I don't feel any. No, don't feel bad. I'm just confused. I don't know. Well, welcome to life, Jack. Life's tough.
Starting point is 01:53:23 Lots of curve balls out there. Lots of curve balls. We need you feeling confused. Yeah. So with all that in mind, I've got to ask, though, how was a show today? A little chaotic.
Starting point is 01:53:37 Yeah. It was a little chaotic. Rats, cameras moving like crazy. It was better now. And I've done nothing. What am I done? Is it on a string? I've done nothing.
Starting point is 01:53:48 I spent 10 minutes taking advice, it didn't work. Now it's not moving. So riddle me that, Jack. Yeah, I don't know. Do you know what? It's not our day. I think it's a message.
Starting point is 01:54:04 Just turn the lights out and stay home and find a nice comfortable chair. Yeah. And vote. Maybe chocolate bar. I don't know what, I don't know what. To say and what not to say. Vote for the chocolate championship, I think.
Starting point is 01:54:21 Be ready tomorrow's the game day, I think. A couple games tonight, I think. What a world. Hope we'll all recover from it. Maybe we'll see you, buddies.
