Fellas, how we doing?
Look at this brick wall.
Welcome to Barnburner friends.
It's Pinder from Toronto.
They wanted to send Dean. They wanted Red, but they said, no, we hate Toronto.
We'll never go back.
So here we are, live on location for Barnburner today.
Fellas, how are you?
I mean live on location.
That's not our location.
Looks like a different look.
I'm on location.
You don't look alive.
How are we supposed to know that's Toronto?
You could be anywhere.
AI in some alley past.
You knew your brick.
If you knew your brick, you'd understand.
This is Southern Ontario, 100-year-old brick.
Come on.
Can you touch the brick?
Is it real brick?
It's real brick.
Oh, wow.
Yes.
That's nice brick.
I thought maybe it was just one of those sheep things.
We wouldn't do that to you.
No.
Not in Studio 3.
It's not casuals.
Studio 3.
Studio 3.
They really rolling out the red carpet here.
Wow.
Welcome to the show, everybody.
It is Barnburner on a Tuesday, the 22nd
of September presentation of
Bet365. This season
Play to win early. Bet365, the home
of winning early. We'll do some
Super chats a little bit later on in the show.
I guess we're playing that thing.
Super chats, money going to the U.S. Centers of Calgary. You get your comment
put on the show as we're here separately together
in the McLeod Law Studios.
MacLeod Law, LLP, MacLeod-Dashlaw.com
is the website.
You're just going to need some legal assistance, some legal
help at different points in your life, some of you more than others.
But regardless, McLeod Law is the place to be.
Calgarians through and through here to help you through whatever issues may arise.
Yes, you are in Toronto.
We are here in Calgary.
Now, what are they calling those studios?
Is it?
One, two and three.
The nation network.
Is it Leafs, like, what are they?
It's 99 Spadina.
That's the address.
And there's Danish people here.
all kinds of people I've never met.
And I don't know what they do.
There's a meeting room, studios.
Jay Rose Hill is here.
So there's a little,
some creature comforts,
people we've seen before,
but lots of strangers,
yeah.
You've really accomplished a lot.
So you're there,
you have no clue what's going on.
I guarantee you had,
what's your over on Dean?
Over under on drinks last night.
15.
Yeah.
And I mean,
it's heavy over.
15's the norm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So,
so, so he went out,
got drunk.
learn nothing and accomplished F all.
Way to go.
Yesterday we went to the Port Credit
Arena, which is in Mississauga. It's a beautiful
old barn and we shot
a little beat the NHL goalie thing for
Bet365. We had Rose Hill
out, Pavl Barber
like the trick shot guy. Yeah, he's
caught in Instagram. He was unbelievable
and David Ayers was the goalie, the
famous Zamboni driver that beat the Leafs.
So we were at the, we were filming
at this arena for like five hours yesterday.
It was phenomenal. So like you had the camera?
like you were filming?
No, there was like a camera crew
and they were filming.
What did you?
I understand, but you weren't shooting.
You weren't in net.
You weren't.
Oh, I was shooting.
Oh, you were shooting?
We had two teams of three.
And I, uh, on a shootout challenge,
my dump and chase style of play really didn't shine.
I,
it's hard to do a shootout.
I had to do a breakway.
Yes.
Sure.
I mean,
well, if not Pinder, then who else?
I mean, you look around.
It's not as though we have an ex-NHL player sitting around somewhere,
a guy that has NHL experience.
Wanted O on breakways.
Pinder would be the one and only guy to approach for sure to go and do that.
To be fair, they haven't seen Rett with Skates on,
despite three years in a row of going up to Jasper and playing hockey.
So maybe they think he's throwing them in the river like Noodles's gear.
Yeah, maybe.
Yeah, maybe.
They could Google and find out that he played.
I'll soon be unemployed anyway.
You love Toronto, right?
You love getting out here.
Yes.
Take this opportunity away from you.
Have you been able to discern about the studios?
So what's going to be happening in these studios on a daily basis?
I guess the necessity or the...
Well, Cabby show is being filmed down, a couple studios down, Leif's Nation show that...
But Cabby shoots here.
Cabby's right here.
Right.
But he's.
two co-hosts that come to the studio here.
I see. Right. Yeah. So two
thirds of that show is here every day. And then
we've got a bunch of shows here. These guys' dorks?
Like, don't they want to do it from home?
Like, we would die to do it from home. Some of them do.
McMarriks here today. He's got a show
daily. Yeah, but he's Mr.
Serious. Like, of course, he wants to go into
a studio. Some of us. He was doing the
play-by-play of said
365 event yesterday. That would be
hard. In the corner. That goes, you know.
That would be a tough gig
to sell that is. That's a great move, right?
Ryan. So how to be,
spoiler alert, I don't want to give it away.
How did you fare?
I think I out of myself as the worst hockey player there,
which was the only thing I didn't want to do.
Yeah,
if I could just be second worst,
I can handle this.
I'm Rosa played in April.
Barbers on every 12th year old's reels on social media
doing trick,
deeks. And you're not keeping up with that guy.
No.
And heirs, you know, he.
But you know what?
NHL goalie, but he's damn good goalies moving around, covering a lot of net.
We talked about this just recently.
It's your commitment to the details that is poor.
You're not helping your kids.
You go out drinking at pubs instead of stick handling and trick shots.
So it's really on you.
It was my first time on skates in many months.
I did not rent ice to get ready for this.
No.
It's on here.
Way to represent us.
It's good.
Thanks.
You're welcome.
Well, it is a game day here in Calgary.
Some preseason action between the Calgary Flames.
And I believe it's the Vancouver Canucks, if I'm not mistaken.
I think that's who they are playing tonight.
That sounds very right.
This one will be televised, I believe.
This is this going to be on our television.
Yeah, yeah, that's going to be good.
On the Trinitron?
Yeah, on the Triniton.
Yeah, let it warm up.
I wrap the satellite dish.
Let's check it out.
one of very few opportunities for some youngsters to get in and try and impress only four games retro we talked with conroy yesterday i mean
there's not a lot of spots available we'll talk to steinberg pat steinberg going to join us in a little bit
i think five's the number five games when we were talking to connie i think they have to have a three game
tournament for the kids.
Take the best kids out of there.
And then they've got to be able to play three.
Because two is not quite enough.
So you've got to have enough games to get the veterans,
two games, because that's what they want to get in shape.
They want the kids to have a little more.
What are you got here?
How do you stack up?
Because four is really three.
Because that last game generally,
it ends up being most, if not all of the regulars that are going to play opening night.
So you really only have three games, three opportunities for.
Chase Harrington in game four.
right so while you're in
Toronto see if you can talk
go down to the NHL offices there and see if you can
talk to somebody about it yeah they'll be thrilled
to see me they'll be yeah
I don't think the NHL offices are in Toronto
don't they have a Toronto have some here but the big ones are New York
go to the alumni the alumni will talk to you they love talking to people
did you so do you what were your takeaways from a Sunday's game fellas
did you well we talked about yesterday show what were your takeaways
we shared ours yesterday yeah we well I just
Sunyev's another guy, right?
I mean, I don't know when he arrives, but that's the guy you took in the third round
that is all the way back from the Tofoli deal, and you're like,
maybe there's another player there.
Like, move out some GD wingers.
Let's go.
Like, just make room.
You're going to have Wittenback and Potter arriving as soon as this spring.
Sunneyev looks all right.
When he was healthy, you're already scratching an NHL or whether that's possible or
Klopka or Cyplica.
There's no urgency here, but it just reiterates what we already know,
which is they have too many wingers.
They have so many middle six wingers.
And I'd love to see a little more from Sunniyev
in the sense of like,
if he's lighten up the A,
Christmas,
is there room for him?
Not now,
but could they make some?
Maybe.
Yeah.
And I don't know,
like you talk about Potter and Wittenbach.
Potter didn't play last year.
He's a wee little guy.
Yeah.
I'm not saying he's ready,
but he'll be up.
I think he,
if he has an NHL up.
As soon as they're done, he'll sign
is my expectation. Yeah, I mean,
he'll be up, but I don't think that means he's now taking
a spot in next year.
Sorry, it sounded like he's coming up
and he's going to be inserted.
No. No, and there might only be
depending, like, he's what, at Michigan State,
like they might be in the Frozen 4.
There might only be one or two games. Like when Johnny
came to Calgary, it was game 82. That was,
he could only get one in. That's what we played in the tournament.
We have it on good authority. The team's going to be
competitive and be fighting for a playoff spot.
Really?
Oh, yeah.
That's an interesting development.
Where did we garter that information?
If you,
our sources tell us a lot.
Yeah, we'll see.
How's McKenna mania out there?
Yeah, I have no idea.
I mean, what, it's preseason?
So he spent.
Messed up a drill.
I don't know.
How many drinks did you have during the shootout?
And then.
Zero.
They did not.
They stocked our coolers with water and Gatorade.
There was not allow it.
Really? Safety first.
That's right.
So you're in Toronto.
They had the number one overall pick and you're such a cat about them.
This is casual.
I'm a casual.
No, I mean like what?
Everyone's excited, but.
Don't we have a Leafs show?
Didn't you talk to the dudes?
You can switch to the YouTube's and watch.
Yeah, if we could, that'd be great.
We kind of mentioned that we didn't.
Come on.
I mean, what are you having to say?
You're excited for the first overall pick?
Of course they are.
Yeah.
It's good.
You made it.
I have no idea.
I don't know.
What are your guys,
you're asking us questions about.
Where?
We'll do this question.
You want to talk about McKenna.
That's our lead today.
I love it.
Well, only because you're in Toronto and we felt like, you know,
you don't want to talk about why?
Down at the rank?
Get some quotes.
Adrenaline source for sports.
Goleys.
At adrenaline source for sports,
they know what it's like when your kid says,
Mom, dad, I want to be a goalie.
Every team needs.
needs one and it's going to be your kid. It's back to hockey season and adrenaline has everything
that your goalie needs. Chest protector, pads, blocker, catcher, a mask that'll have them
looking like themselves for family photos and feeling confident, feeling great. They've got the
gear and the staff to help you get everything that you need. Two locations in Calgary,
Northland Mall in the north, obviously, and McLeod Trail in the south. And from now until the end
of the month, we're getting on it. We've got about a week left. You mentioned Barnburner at any
adrenaline source for sports location, that will get you a free skate sharpening.
One per customer.
Don't be greedy about it.
And the half price skate sharpening cards, they are also on sale until September 30th.
Regular price, 600 bucks.
Now just $300 that will take you right through.
They're valid until June 30th of next year.
That is as good a deal as you'll ever find.
You're not going to find better than that.
You're not going to for the whole family.
You've got more than one kid.
You're going to pay that thing off in no time.
So there you go.
half price skate sharpening cards at adrenaline source for sports i've been to both in the last week
look at you supporting the sponsors you're down right i am yeah supporting the sponsors support them
support me everybody's happy um there was a football game there was a football game last night
there's another injury too oh oh oh oh oh yeah it's if if you were a fantasy football person you're like
Well, neighbors is really good, but it feels like it gets hurt a lot.
Jackson Dart really good.
But it's like, geez, if he gets hurt, then nobody else is any good.
And everything happened last night.
It's like, okay.
So he got hurt and he got hurt.
Now you're no good and they're no good.
And the great thing about James Winston is everybody loves James Winston.
It's like, this guy's the best.
We love Jamie.
Oh, James is the greatest.
And then if he ever has to throw a football, it's like, I fucking hate James Winston.
This guy's the, I can't stand this guy.
This guy is so easy here.
How is he of a chop, right?
It's 100% of that.
It's like, man, he's so funny.
Look at him.
He's at the World Cup and he's in a costume.
Like, keep him on the set of a TV studio.
Get him away from the field.
Like, he's the same guy that just turns over the ball and can't be accurate.
Everyone loves the character and you're just like bleep if he ever gets in the game.
Was it two years ago when he was with the Browns?
I just, just please, Lord, just deliver me from these pig,
I mean, yeah, the one, it's like, oh, he's going deep.
Oh, James.
That's terrible.
Nobody does don't do that.
The throw itself was a strong throw, tight spiral, but nowhere close to your receiver.
Nowhere close.
Well, you got to get it down there, Dean.
Hope for the best.
Yeah, you got to get it down there.
You got to get it down there.
How about Devante Adams?
Monster.
Is he on his fantasy?
Is this like he chirps it?
There's no,
I don't know.
He doesn't chirp in very often.
I was playing against Adam.
There must be a reason.
Jack had a bad beat.
Jack had for the second week in a row
had these,
I think second most points or up there.
And lost.
You're 0 and 2 and one of the highest scoring teams in our league.
Yeah,
we're going to have to introduce that.
The median scoring.
The median score thing for next year.
I'm sorry, Jack.
I'm on Ryan.
I'm sorry, Jack.
And the reason we're,
bring up Devonte Adams Rett is because
the old man went absolutely nuclear
195 yards
and two touchdowns. Like that's
a career type performance in what
might be one of his last couple years in the league.
Get him the ball.
Feed him. The ball. They didn't in Australia. I don't know.
Didn't like it down under.
Too much kangaroo.
That's right. Something like that.
Too much vegamite.
What's the beer?
VB. VB.
Victoria Bita.
get a few VBs, throw them in the ESCII.
I thought it was Fosters.
Wasn't that Crocodile Dundee said?
It was what crocodile, but that's the fake Ozzie beer.
Is it?
Yeah, it's the, I'll see.
I've never been to Australia.
I think it's Australian.
How can be not wearing shorts today?
I didn't know what to do today.
I'll look up on it.
Is it nice?
I'm going to put some shorts on.
28 yesterday.
Yeah, it was smoking hot.
Yes.
Yeah.
Beauty day.
Damn.
It's sunburn.
How's a humanity?
Boy.
How are your pits?
How the Jays do it?
Cool.
Yeah, how are the Jays?
What's the word on the Jays out east?
I think they're hosting something at a memorial funeral place.
So would you say they're cooked?
They're cooked.
Oh, he said it.
Their ace has shoulder inflammation.
The one guy that you could count on every five days to throw the ball while.
If only they had an ace in the sleeve or.
pocket and
because they'd have been fine if the ace didn't get
hurt, right? No, he's going to miss one
start all year. It's just, that's the
final nail. So they had him all year.
Yeah, he's going to finish in the top
two and sell you in votes. But like
if he could have finished that last game, you think they'd have snuck in?
No, it's just a nice
punctuation on a dead season. Yeah.
Oh.
Well, it's good for you to finally come around.
Oh, now.
Proud of you. Well, what about you, Jack? Jack, do you
think the jays are going to make it i think they might make it right yeah jack are they
they've been mathematically i don't know i got the jackometer is uh oh what's the update did we hit
that yesterday yeah we did what's the number two oh my god they are so pathetic and like the chargers
are a disaster oh yeah that's all we had to get to yesterday your chargers what's the hell they are
awful. I thought Herbert or
Hebert or Hebert or He Bear. No, He bears the
Curler. Herbert's the...
Well, Guy A Bear was the goalie.
Oh, yeah. Benny Hebes might be doing
as good at quarterback. Oh, I would
take Benny all day every day
over that other guy. He's terrible.
He's good at having hot girlfriends and the rest
I don't know.
It used to be an organization where you're like
they're not serious. They make stupid mistakes.
There's not people that are good at their jobs, doing their jobs.
And then they bring in Harbaugh and you're like, okay,
there's some legitimacy here.
This is a guy that's established, like very good,
long-time NFL head coach, NCAA head coach,
and you just felt like there was adults at the wheel.
And then they are running into the exact same issues
that plagued them last year.
I don't...
But here's some good news.
They went 0 and 2 at home,
double-digit losses to Arizona and the Raiders.
Man, those are really good teams.
They are at the top of the food chain.
Now it's on the road to Buffalo,
then Seattle, home to Denver at KC,
at the Rams home to Houston at the Ravens.
0.09?
Red blacks.
I mean,
feels like, yeah,
might win one of those.
And the one guy that actually looked like he was doing his job is Ladd-McConkey.
And it's like hip out.
Now I'm playing hurt.
Yeah.
Put on a flack jacket.
Rids.
Did you say Lad? Ladd? Is that his lad?
Lad.
Love McConkey?
Love.
Lad.
Hello, lad.
Is it short for Vladimir, maybe?
Right.
Ladis.
Laquicious.
It's the, we did the Canucks yesterday for the kind of season preview.
How inspiring are they?
It was a quick short segment.
Yeah.
They were no good last year.
They finished well back of the pack in 32nd.
And then they traded a bunch of their good.
players and didn't really, they added Luke Shen.
36 year old Luke Schen and Brendan Gallagher and the goalie is out to start the season again.
Stunner.
We were saying if you were if bet 365, if you had who finishes dead last, the field or the Canucks, which would you take?
And it just feels like you'd still take the Canucks.
100%.
I would.
I mean, unless Demco is going to be healthy, I don't see much.
It's not healthy to start.
So already.
And it's like this has been, what, three years now of like,
will he won't he? Is he, is he not?
Like there's just zero certainty.
There's never timelines.
It's healthy and then he's hurt again.
Their lineup doesn't even allow them to be that much better even if he is.
No, but they could be, if you get 45 to 50 healthy Demco games,
you could finish third from the bottom.
You know, he's going to steal a couple.
I don't, like, who's in net for them?
It's gross.
Like Lankenin and.
Tolo pillow.
Is that how,
is that the third string guy?
He's an Abbotsford for a lie pillow guy?
No.
They should have kept she loves.
I actually thought she loves is the,
you know,
that nice series against Edmonton in the playoffs a few years ago.
I didn't mind them.
Pittsburgh last year.
The good thing about the Canucks is their attitude has been positive
and they've worked really hard the last couple of years when things haven't gone.
You've got great culture.
That's the thing.
That's right.
I feel that.
Well,
it'll be interesting actually if Mahalter can.
at least get some juice in the room.
And if you're the new GM, Mike Johnson, like,
or Ryan Johnson, excuse me, like,
are you just waiting and praying and hoping that
Elias Patterson looks better, or are you selling, sell, sell, sell, sell?
What's the price that makes it?
Clearly.
How many points do you have, Jack?
Can you look that up?
Are you busy with dog shit last year?
He had, well, he led them with 56 points.
I know, that's what I'm getting at.
He's, if they chew on some money,
Or do they still think?
Well, I think their thought right now is, you know,
we're not dying to make a bad trade.
Let's see if he can be better with a new coach.
And if he is, then maybe we don't have to eat any salary.
And it can be a positive value asset on that contract.
Or he'd have an 11.
Sure, he'd have some protection.
Yeah.
Well, I'm guessing you'd have.
Be shocked.
Making 11.6.
There's some trade protection there for sure.
He, uh, yeah.
It's the thing for them.
It's not a lot different here.
Let's be honest.
But it feels a little bit more.
I don't know.
Who would you rather be?
The Flames or the Canucks?
I would rather be the flames over the last couple of years because they actually showed up and tried.
The other thing is a hard time cheering for a team.
Sorry.
A hard time cheering for a team that actually mails it.
Yeah.
Like the Canucks, when they move J.T. Miller, they didn't take that first rounder and draft someone.
They traded it for another Pedersen, a defense.
defenseman Pedersen.
Like they have been trying to compete and not collecting prospects.
Aside from the Minnesota deal, like what do they have for really exciting good young players on the way?
It's like Coots, you know, the pick this year, obviously they're.
Well, the defenseman Pedersen is, Pedersen is 22.
Zeve Boyum is 20.
They have Tom Beelander on the blue line who's 21.
You mentioned Coots.
Marco Rossi is still 24.
Like, I'm not saying,
disagree with you.
But I don't know that it's a slam-dunk.
Oh, the flames are in a way better spot.
They don't have any-
Prospects, that's all.
How so?
Because the guys you mentioned are young NHLers
already on second contracts and stuff.
Well, would Boym and Porek would be a wash.
They're from the same draft.
There's no Marco Rossi of the flames.
He's not a prospect.
He's in his mid-20s.
We'll see what he looks like at center.
I like him.
but the flames have
Carl's on the way
and the,
you know,
the Wittenbacks,
the Reshneys,
on and on it.
Like,
it's a better system.
They're consistently rated
better prospects than the Canucks.
The Canucks don't have as many good young players.
I'm kind of with you.
They do have some young NHLers that could be good,
but not the,
the next three years we're going to continue to see the Flames graduate players
onto the NHR roster.
I don't know.
Yeah,
that's the whole,
right?
That is the hope for sure.
Yeah, we have so many of them you are.
It's just they're not all going to hit,
but there's enough of them that you'll be a bunch of will.
Have to be given an opportunity, Dean.
That's all.
I hear you.
I like the most of it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I have no idea what the depth of the Canucks farm system is.
Well, they took Malhotra at three.
Adam Novotny at 24.
Yvani looked good in Prospects camp.
I heard some nice reviews on him.
Braden Coots was a first rounder from 2025,
He went at 15.
Overall, he played some, I think, last year.
And then...
He was the same draft as Reschney.
He went in like 12 and Reschney was 18 or whatever.
It's funny.
The Elias Lindholm trade did not help them out.
No, no.
That's Gridden and and and.
But the Zedorov won it.
No, that one didn't really help them either.
They also gave up a ham sandwich to get them, so who cares?
I feel like a ham sandwich.
It would be good.
What's your favorite kind of ham?
Haven't had one in a long time.
Virginia.
Wow.
West Virginia.
Virginia ham.
Yeah, that's right.
I don't know if I read that.
Well, you should try it.
There it is.
You should try it.
I don't know what it is.
You should try it.
It's good.
I'll look for it today.
Renfrew Chrysler 1920 Pump House Road in the Southwest.
When it comes to the Rams sport, they don't just compete.
They lead.
It's the 60K sport, widely known as Canada's best deal on a RAM.
sport and that's just the start. Renfrew, one of the top dealers in Canada for most new
vehicle sales, it's serious volume, major inventory, Jeep compass models, price to move, no
shortage of options, big selection, big energy and a team that knows how to get it done for
you. Renfrew Chrysler, Renfrewcrisler.com over, just over there, 1920 pumphouse road in the
southwest.
West.
Make him to the Pender Report.
Well, we're awaiting A. Steinberg at some point.
I think 11.
Just texted him.
He's wrapping up coaches, chats, and interviews after skate.
So 20 minutes.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
We got a Hall of Fame goaltender that's a massive, massive hit on TV and podcasts.
And this guy shows up every Wednesday.
Wednesday, on time, every time, goes extra.
Hall of Fame type of number.
And now we got this duster holding up the program?
Tuska's the problem, clearly.
No, no.
They trust Huska.
It's the love it.
That's a game day.
He's not focused on the, it's just like you.
He's out vacationing.
He's got to get those, get the interviews.
He's got to go into the room and talk to,
Zach White Club.
That'd be a good one.
I'm just trying to.
I think you've got to go with the kids.
Yeah.
Yeah, Max Ipacov.
No, we can do the Pinder Report and then we can break in.
We can do that for you.
Let's do it.
I'll press this here and then
Brick boy.
We'll get going over there.
Rapinda.
It is the Pinda Report for our friends at Village.
Honda, your dealership for life.
since 1987.
They are located under the giant Canada flag
up in the Northwest Automol and online at village
honda.com.
We start with flames, flames, flames.
It is a game day, short preseason,
and you talked about it,
a short runway for young players looking to impress.
I don't know what more Ida Asuniev could do.
He scored all three of their goals
in a prospect game and preseason game one.
First year pro last year,
played at UMass two seasons ago.
He scored at every level.
Skating is improved.
Coach Huska talked about that post game on Sunday that he's been impressed with.
The skating was always the question mark,
and he's made great strides, no pun intended,
always been able to shoot it and score at every level.
Interesting question posed by Adrian Kiss.
Could there be a push for a roster spot here,
or are there any roster spots to have?
So think about Adrian, he's always got good questions.
Good questions.
got to get him in those media scrums right no stupid meat questions
good ones right
if you're in the media scrum you it's
instantly relegated
transformed
he is one of the guys though the thing about SUNY
of what is his release his ability to shoot
that's hard to come by
I don't know I don't know I mean
Gridden can also but as far as the youngsters
he may be one of the best shooters of the bunch
that not moving I'm moving Coronado
that out of that pack, but of the young guys.
Just in general, and I'm not disagreeing with you at all, how does that happen?
Probably we are not qualified as we heard about your breakaways, and I can't even
handle a stick.
I don't even know what hand I shoot.
The kids can all shoot.
I don't get how, like, what you work on to, like, is it just a natural God-given ability?
Yeah, like, how much of it is fundamentals, how much of it is just,
Because if you're a kid and you're going,
yeah, these new sticks, everyone could shoot it pretty damn good.
You go watch an 11-year-old, they can shoot the damn puck.
Then you see this guy, he's like, well, that's exceptional.
And it's like, well, is there a formula here?
Like, can we order this online?
Can we get it delivered?
How do you, it's, it's pretty unique.
It's an interesting point.
Like, is he a guy that shoots it harder?
Or is he just incredibly accurate, can get it off in his wheelhouse in a lot more spots
the other guys while he's moving
is it more, I don't know. It's like Kyle
Connor and Winnipeg. He's so slight
and slently, there's nothing
to him and you would think
what kind of a shot? Well, he's got,
it's an incredibly hard shot.
It's incredibly, it's one of the better
shots in the National Hockey League.
So maybe
did he practice more than everybody else? I can't
imagine that's what it comes down to.
Wasn't it, Colave? His old man worked in like an auto
factory and he would fill the puck's
shooting like five pounds.
pucks or something. I don't know.
See, that's what, okay, dads,
get out for it. Let's go. You want it?
You want to raise NHLers like Brett Warner? Go the extra mile.
Get the heavy pucks. Let's go. That's what I do.
That's right. Ah, we have lines
for the preseason game tonight. It's preseason
game two of four. It's the final home
preseason game ever in Saddle Dome history.
And fellas, when I look at this, I'm like,
yep, that's opening night roster. All you got to do
is swap out the backup goalie, and that's
a regular season lineup.
No?
Yeah, I mean, it's exactly how I put the lines together.
It's exactly how I put the, we expect them to put the D pairs together and Wolf is starting.
Like the only change is cool, he ends, Rubin out.
Well, go get them, boys.
Yeah, they're going to go with Pospisal to start at center.
He said it yesterday.
He was going to be a star.
Well, I mean, we talked about it.
They don't really have NHR-ready options at Center Ice anywhere else, right?
Like, it's not exactly.
Unless you want fourth line, Zeri.
center, which some people do. I'm not there.
It's not exactly murderers
row down the. No, it's, you're
having to kind of coerce someone
into being a center.
And probably posthal at
the 4C spot is better than
I would want Zary to play higher.
Get to run into people as much as wingerers?
I feel no. I feel like a wing is more
responsibility, right? Yeah.
Yeah. The story to watch will be
Castania and gross. Can they get
20, 30 games in the H.L under their belt and be a
better center option. And then if you run
into injuries, just led possible to the wing or maybe
one of these other guys falls off. I don't know.
It's the worst forward group in the NHL
fellas. Like when you look at that, that's
quite appalling that you would go out
and compete with, you know, teams in
your division that have McDavid and
Cellebrini and dry sight.
Like it's, it's gross. Shame on you.
If people were lucky, yeah, but it's a preseason
roster. You're like, no.
No. They put their
there might be. That's them. That's all.
They're not hiding any of them.
It's so gross.
Like at least the decor you can sort of dream on some upside.
But like who in the world can you guarantee we'll get 20 goals out of that forward.
Hey,
I'll just remind everybody,
I'm going to have to do it throughout and I'm saying it to myself.
This is what we wanted.
We asked for it.
Get rid of the old guys.
Get young.
Pick high.
Let's go.
So this is,
let's do it.
That's a great roster.
Love it.
No,
I don't know.
The only fly in the ointment for me, Jack,
if you want to throw it back up is that,
there are kids but not enough of them what a yeah yeah hansick
didn't everyone's bragging about hansick i'm glad of that he was flying yeah again i kind of
old i elevate coronado to he's just a player now he's not really a prospect or a young guy
right zary is kind of the same yeah strome is not a prospect well if we're if we're declaring
that rossi kid as being if he's old at 24 then these guys
are.
Yeah, those guys are, yeah.
I mean,
Ridley,
there's two young guys,
right?
It's Gridden and Hansick.
And then that's it.
That's him.
That's a wreck on the back end.
And Kuznats off,
I suppose.
How old is he now?
Cousy's needing waivers.
So he's out of that.
What are we going to say?
Are we going to?
Anyway,
go get him,
boys.
I don't know.
Bake him away.
It's always.
Per seigneeas'
preseason schedule looks as such,
fellas.
Yeah.
there it is a 4-2 loss to Seattle, Vancouver tonight,
and then two on the road.
They will pass through the Emerald City,
Rhett before going to the city of festivals
or the Festival City.
I wonder what's going on this weekend.
I'm going to have to get up there.
And Savor the Flavor the Flavor,
that is the only Saturday night Flames Oilers game this year.
Don't know why it's so hard.
Really?
Thanks, Gary.
Well, Gary might be looking at the lineups
and going, wow.
Yeah.
One of these things is...
All more screen time for Cipulacob.
Let's keep moving.
Home openers closing in.
The Flamesville team they saw on Sunday,
they will see in the first regular season game.
The Seattle Cracket, a team that just evokes a lot of emotion and feelings.
That's the homeowner.
There it is.
Thursday, October the 1st,
you're going to see a lot of the Saddle Dome imagery.
You can see that silhouette of the dome in the background there.
And then, of course, the huge mask that hangs.
off the building.
All right.
It's really pulling
my heartstrings.
Yeah, I know.
I feel it to your jerks.
I feel it.
Got your tickets, Pinder?
No, not yet.
Geez.
I can't decide if I want that
to call that goalie out
and say you better be on
your best
performance behavior.
Or if that's going to ruin things.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like if you're going to have a shush,
if you're going to have a shitty ear,
like this is the year.
Yeah.
Yep.
maybe maybe try catching with the other hand see how that works yeah try just you know experiment with some
things whatever yeah he is only one man we did look at that roster and i feel like jack well you
wouldn't be able to do old old dog has you're so i was going to say if you looked at that roster
and then you put up the oh three oh four roster because that's the last time there was any yeah yeah
you would have a, I mean, you would pick the O-304 roster because you'd know what Kipper turned into.
Yeah.
But the only guy would be, again, La, on the O'304 roster.
Who would you be on this roster now?
Would you be?
Middleton.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was going to say, maybe White Cloud?
Middleton.
Yeah.
I think White Cloud moves better than I did, too.
Well, they all do.
You're sold.
Yeah, it's a different.
It's not.
No, I had a guy, the old pal that I was talking to the other day, he's like,
asked how the kid was in my
whatever. It's like he's not like you.
I'm like, no, he can skate. He's like, yeah, you just
kind of got around, eh?
You were about position.
You're damn right I was. Some of these idiots, I'm like cooch.
You were, yeah, your position.
You were in position, angles,
strength, stick,
bulk check, work smart.
Anyway, sorry, Ryan, back to you.
You're good. Hey, we're talking about it.
Season preview for the Calvary Flames is today.
we've gone through every NHL team of Sub-Calbary Flames.
We don't really need to bring this audience up to speed on all the changes.
We're quite familiar.
We talked about the side days or week.
32 teams?
Why did I think there was 26?
I don't know.
Switch it out.
Yeah, that is weird.
Maybe you looked at the talk horn.
You saw it 26, 27 something.
Well, we did all the divisions and kind of collared.
Oh, we did it all.
Sorry.
That's fine.
We left our Canadian teams to the end.
It wasn't individual.
Gotcha.
The Canadian teams were just the only individual.
That's right.
Sorry.
Back to you.
old friend Blake Coleman's off to Minnesota.
He and only Matta went in the deal that brought back Middleton and three picks.
Other than that, I think one of the more interesting topics this year is like,
what is Simone Nemich?
Let's figure it out.
Play the piss out of him is what we talked about with Pat a week ago.
That'll be a fascinating story to watch.
What is he?
Because there's all kinds of tools enough to get him drafted second overall.
But the team that took him also said, we're good.
We'll take some picks instead.
So that one will unfold this year.
That'll be probably one of the more interesting cases on the whole roster of what are you?
Team wasn't very good last year.
Team won't be very good this year, although there is sort of that whole,
if there's one thing that can really be the fly in the ointment, good or bad, it's goaltending.
It can sink a really good team and it can make a bad team look mediocre.
Cooley was a sieve the other day, so that's good.
Good.
Keep him, settle them down after last year.
Jack Hartman, there put that on.
You know what's funny?
We talked with Conroy yesterday, and I did have it on my nose, but it was so far down, is Igor Sharonovich.
He's,
guy scored 30.
He's consistently inconsistent, isn't he?
Every year, you see flashes and dead zones.
There were times where it was like, you're not even trying.
Just go sit in the stance.
Yeah.
Like, if you're not interested, it's fine.
Go.
He's doing cardio.
He's doing, yes.
you see him out there.
Tony Snell.
Is that what Kooch is talking about?
Is that kind of that IQ thing?
I don't know that you're not trying.
Just you're very rarely around it.
Move him to center.
Move him to wing.
Power.
You guys got the tools.
And again, he always gets to close to 20.
And you're like, you see him shoot it on the power player.
Like, huh.
Then he's gone for two weeks.
The only reason that's even remotely acceptable is because we're in Calgary.
You know, it's a good score.
And he other team are like, oh, you got close to 20.
you're the shits.
You got lots of guys that can score 20.
We need something else.
We need more than that.
How about 40?
Is anyone going to score 40?
Yeah.
And was it 15 last year?
In fairness, 15's a ways away from 20.
There were times.
Either way.
So insignificant, it was tough.
And if that's a story where you're like,
geez, I don't know that he's earning all his money.
What do you do here long term?
Let me show you.
you their cap structure and we'll give you a bigger example of that. There's Jonathan
Huberto friends, the highest paid player in the Gallagher Flames 10 and a half a billion. He'll start
the season on IR and he has looked like half of the player he was in Florida where he played
four years ago before arriving in the trade for Matthew Kachuk. Yeah, my Yegor had 15 last year.
That's not 20. No. And 17 the year before, which again, I wanted to get in his contract here.
31. Oh, genius. It's the Alex Semin theory.
just keep them on one year deals so 16 as a rookie good job that's that's up and
cover yeah it's good 24 so hallelujah oh 13 31 31 yeah we got something 17 17 15 no that's
the wrong direction other way think up yeah he's got 100 goals in his career dean I just
I am 12.
100 more than me.
Me and Jack combined.
Let's look at the decor, shall we?
All right.
This is where there's probably a little more hope for this team.
You look at the age of these guys.
It's, all right.
26-year-old Kevin Ball,
22-year-old Simone Nemitz.
You've got Perak at 20 because Netzavs,
not on the list is Bristew,
who I believe will be a big part of this group moving forward,
although it might take a few months to get them there.
And then, yeah, you're comfy with the goal,
the crease for the next two years.
You're paying under $9 million
bucks for a tandem
that gets a lot of work and frankly
are quite good. Well, we'll see.
We'll see.
These poor bastards watch the canes
playing the playoffs. They had how many
shots? Thirteen shots?
I get that every period.
Don't feel bad. You're at goalie dad, eh? That's
why you're all the poor goalies.
Goalies like shots.
You want to stand in that and be cold all night?
That's terrible.
It's not why you sign up to be goalie.
I want to make the big saving.
Stop the puck.
I ought to feel it.
Anything else of the flames you want to touch Jack?
Or is that pretty much it?
I mean, it's, look, we talk to every GD day.
Should be more invested in our home team.
The GM's on the hot seat.
But aside from that,
I had a real problem with some of his answers yesterday.
Is your ponief finis waning?
Are we good?
Yeah.
leaking.
Leaking con confidence for sure.
You said we had it on really good authority that they're going to be competitive this year,
Rhett?
Was that what the GM was saying?
Yep.
What did I say about noodles?
Last week, remember I had him rattled?
Oh, yeah.
You had him, he was on the record.
On the record, yes.
As saying that Quinn Hughes was going to be traded in it from Minnesota.
So, yeah, he didn't like that.
I think probably what we're all realizing in our lack of.
enthusiasm, excitement,
passion, and coverage
is that this is what we asked for.
This is what we asked for.
So now we just got to
just kind of like a cold bath,
a cold tub,
you just got to sit in it.
It's good for you.
You got to pee in the water.
It'll warm it up just enough to make it.
Yeah.
It's right.
That is, of course, what you do in a cold plunge.
Well, how else are you going to warm it up?
Got a heater?
No.
No.
Warner on the 26.
27 flames. You got to pee in the water.
Jack. Jack, don't do that.
Great's make it look easy.
Other NHL news, Brett Burns has got a hell of a year ahead of him.
He could break a record which seems impossible that it's held by Phil Kessel A
and that someone of Burns' style of play could be the guy to break that.
It seems even crazier in a way.
A thousand and sixty-four games is the Iron Man streak.
Physical Phil Kessel, the hot dog connoisseur.
He only needs 21 games.
does Burns to get to 1600 contests and 58 in a row will set the new record.
1600 games, right.
Gee.
I kind of, I like Brent Burns.
Don't get me wrong, but I kind of like physical Phil to be the Iron Man,
Mr. Hot Doggook.
It is outrageous that he's right.
That guy.
It's insane.
Yeah, that he was crushed for a good chunk of his career.
Yes.
A fat loser.
like character assassinations on fronts of sports sections.
And then comes through.
Never misses a game.
With a Stanley Cup.
And I just play every night.
Yeah.
You want me on the ice coach?
Because I'm here.
Three rings.
Yeah.
Three rings.
It worked out okay for Phil.
Phil.
Phil's fine.
Phil's fine.
Phil's crushing it.
Let's go Phil.
Let's go to the NFL last night.
It was the Rams and the Giants.
And because, of course, I thought the Rams would
not win by seven or more.
It was a disastrous injury to the
Giants quarterback that immediately
dissolved any hope for the Giants.
DeMonte Adams went off.
The Rams looked good, Jack.
They did not look like the Australia Rams.
They didn't outthink themselves
and fly around the world and then
arrive 10 minutes before and like they're at home.
They look good.
That's the contending team that we talked about
all off season.
Aaron Donald returned, Miles Garrett's out,
but he was quite impressive for a guy that missed
what, three years in the league?
Two.
Two.
Hush.
Shep back in.
Miles Garrett in one of the luxury boxes there.
You know he's a big man.
You get it.
He's 290 pounds.
But oh my God.
Oh, it's scary.
Are you human?
Is borderline not human?
It looks like a Marvel character, right?
Yes.
Yes.
He looks like a superhero.
Yeah.
They're going to put that guy in the same defensive line as Aaron Donald.
in a few weeks.
Yeah.
Buckle up.
And no Puka, no problem.
Devante, almost 200 yards and two touchdowns.
Well done.
Afterwards,
McVeigh, his closing comment was something about how his team before he said,
well, you know, that's what happens if you have a dumbass coach who makes a plan
for you to fly to Australia.
Never made any sense.
Yeah.
So he basically took it right in the, you know, it.
right in the jibs and then moved on.
So there you go. That's the move.
Okay, Thursday
football. Closing in quickly.
Two nights away from this.
Oh, geez.
The Falcons.
The Falcons have three prime time games in a row.
Ew.
Why?
It's a lot of people in their blind.
Sounds like Pennix is good for this, though.
Well, yeah.
I mean, goods might not be the best word.
Wow. Yeah.
He's healthy enough to play.
He's going to start.
and I don't know what the Packers are, fellas,
but I believe their win.
Ended a six or seven game skid
that stretches back to the end of last year.
Yeah, I don't know.
They're underwhelming.
That's clear.
Kind of with you on that.
Fantasy standings, congrats.
Dino, you're on top of the league at 2 and 0.
On top of the world.
On top of the world.
Retinae, one in one.
I thought this was
news segment.
This is very newsy.
Everyone needs to.
What I mean is, me on to.
Mike calling up, please.
I would have been all right.
I would have had a chance against my competition if
well, DJ and dropped out.
Yeah, he caught that and didn't get injured.
That's a nice swing.
Yeah.
And you lost to Bob Germany.
I had Isaiah likely.
All he needed to was a few points and it was going to be fine.
And then Jackson Dart left and James Winston started throwing
souvenirs to fans instead of football to receivers.
That's too bad.
Feel terrible for you.
Yeah.
Rough goal.
It's all right, though.
I am enjoying time, vacation.
We're making some content.
On the ice with some studs.
Here's Pavel Barber and Johnny Lazarus of Morning Kappa.
They're screwing around on the ice here.
This is David Ayers-in-Net.
Pavel's like the TikTok guy with all the deeks.
And just watch it and move and handle the puck's pretty cool.
He had a thousand and crows.
incredible deeks.
There's a nice save from Ayers,
but watch this last one,
just the ability to cradle the puck here.
Woo!
Ew!
That was us yesterday at
poor credit.
There's a bunch of content
that'll drop the next few weeks
for Bat 365.
It had a ton of fun.
David Ayers is an absolute
class act, barber,
incredibly humble and talented,
and the rest of us were goons
that didn't belong out there,
except maybe Rose Hill and
him less so for Deaks than maybe his physicality.
How about that?
It's a nice rank.
It's a phenomenal rank, really cool.
It'd be nice if we could have nice things.
Hey, Farcas?
They're literally building a rink right now that the team will move into it in a year.
That's, I meant for the kids.
Oh, so the billionaires get one and we, yeah, screw the kids.
What is the nicest?
Old barn?
Here and town?
Yeah.
I'm biased, but that FCA is a banger.
You get the three sheets, the lounge up top.
You like it because there's a lot of the only reason.
It's not a great.
I mean, it's fine.
It's just a regular rank.
It doesn't have atmosphere or anything you, like,
he's asked.
Like that rink that you showed there,
it looks like it's got some character.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
He can't grasp the question.
No, I don't know.
Like, what do you suggest?
I'm trying to think.
I'm actually saying that there's nothing.
I don't know.
Yeah, I'm kind of with you.
There isn't that old.
Like, the rink we were in yesterday reminds me of Penticton Memorial.
The $30 million, uh, uh,
what's the great planes that one's not 30 million dollars worth no that's not special no
the wind sport ones don't really have a lot of atmosphere i like the big ice surface at wins
at wind sport but i don't like a big ice surface right like that's a bigger that's not a yeah
i've been a max bell for a while but oof a little tired no like the one in trot that triwood arena
is old but it's not yeah it's not great there's nothing really there's no real character to it
Um, aren't they build a new one over by, over by.
Yeah.
Stoop.
Some work,
yeah.
So that'll probably be all right, but there's really nothing.
Was Stu Papard just because of the dressing room set up in the stairs and the.
I think there's a lot of issues there.
There's some issues.
Yeah.
So we don't have.
Yeah, no character.
No real character.
Stu might be the answer, actually.
Yeah.
No, but it has to be something you like and want to go into.
I do not want to go like or go into Stu.
uh they're saying jack setters now i which one is that is that over by it's not what's there isn't
one of those in cow here is at ret's point i'm with them yeah because you got the y mca ones
yeah it's a nice ring i'm not sure there's no character coolness to it have you seen that
the clarkson rink oh oh that's cool i'll send jack a picture right back to you uh that is your pin
report boys we wrap that up look for that that 365 is it
We had you on for that?
We've got to make the PIN report shorter.
We've got to make the PIN report shorter.
Let's tighten up with the PIN report.
What?
That's it?
I'm not part of management.
No, you're not.
Village Honda, if you're looking for a pre-owned vehicle,

Copy. Oh. So who all is around, who all's around there? I mean, is there any,
are there any famous people? Is there anything? Rose Hill. Jay Rose Hill. Like,
how's Rosie? He's great. He went to the, what is it, Zach Brian or Bryant concert last night?
He was at the dome. So a huge crowd there, I imagine. He was fired up to see the concert.
At the dome? Like the Skydome, the Rogers Center. Oh, really? Okay.
Yeah, it's a big show, like 50,000.
Yeah.
So I didn't want to hang out with you.
I saw him after he was in, his spirits were elevated, let's say.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How are your spirits?
Like a concert to bring your spirits up to you.
Yeah.
Yeah, I bet.
Where's this duster that you get?
I look so, I don't like poking fun at Pat because I like what he does, but.
He said the coach is taken forever.
I mean, this is just the nature of the nature.
So if this is just going to be the way it is, then I say we can't.
You know what? It's the timing of our show.
It's not conducive to anything.
It's not, yeah.
It's conducive to good sleep ins and.
Yeah, to sleep again and getting your kids to school in time.
But it's not, it's right in the middle of pregame skates.
So getting.
No, that's why we're on.
Media or anything is not ideal there yet.
I wonder if the move isn't while pregame skates happening for him to just turn around and film himself.
Then he can't watch.
He can't, he's got to get who's the, what are the lines?
What is he crisp?
It's all right.
It's early.
We're hiring out the kinks, sir.
The kinks are going to remain kinky because nothing will change.
What are we looking at here, retro?
This is Clarkson.
That's the rink.
Now that's a cool looking barn.
That is cool.
Somebody sent me that picture.
They were there.
Like, yeah, I like that.
You like that?
Clarkson.
Some sort of knight.
Isn't Clarkson where Connie?
Connie's from.
Yeah.
He probably built that.
That's probably his golden nights.
Is that out there?
No, that's Las Vegas.
Jesus.
It's wrong.
Oh, I think you knew that Golden Knights was not the answer.
That's all I'm saying.
I feel like you had it done pretty good.
We need a couple of those, Farkas.
Let's go.
Farkas.
You're going to raise our taxes by 20% this year and 55% overall.
How about a couple of rings for the kids?
55.
Huh?
What do you think?
Or do I have to get involved in politics and take you down?
Get in there, Rhett.
Yeah, no.
Jack, don't use that.
I don't want anyone.
Is that what you want to do?
I love politics, big fan.
You do?
While they accomplish so much, they do so well for the people.
I wanted to find that one photo.
Of what?
It better not be that kind of photo.
No.
Look at everyone.
We got three guys on their phone doing a show.
It's awesome.
Jack's lost, bloomer's.
Cox and Golden Knights.
There you are.
Look at that.
I'm just the golden nights
I wonder why
because didn't Utah want to be the Yeties and they got in trouble
they wanted to be
Wonder how much the Las Vegas
Golden Knights had to
Get some juice
Yeah maybe they built that rink
Maybe
I would make sense maybe
No I just wanted to find
I said to Rujai we'll call it up here in a moment
I want to tell you about Taco Time though because it is Tuesday every
It's Tuesday
Taco Tuesday, $2.25, beef or veggie tacos, unlimited.
Get as many as you can eat.
And the key there is you don't know how many you can eat until you start eating.
Today might be four.
But that's, geez, I could have had one more.
Always just get more than you think you might need just to be safe.
Just to be safe.
And if it's too, then you put in your fridge, I guarantee you within 45 minutes, like, ooh.
I can hear that some of a gun calling my name from.
Wait a minute.
I'm walking past the fridge.
Yeah.
Oh. That's in here.
That's right.
Taco time, we're talking text mechs.
They're making the shells, the chips, the salad bowls, the hot sauces, all of it being made in-house.
Check out your nearest Taco Time, Taco Time, Canada.com.
Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday $2.25 beef or veggie tacos.
I like throwing the rice in there just to kind of change it up.
It's change it up.
I'm not a vegetarian, which might shock you.
Really?
Why would it shock me?
Because I'm a fat loser.
I don't think being a vegetarian makes you skinny.
No?
That's a misconception.
Maybe skinny fat, but not.
Hmm.
And that's your medical advice from.
Dr.
Ratt.
Dr. Rett, it's right.
Dr. Rett.
Oh, yeah.
Is that inside?
That is inside the...
That is very much the vibes of the place we're at yesterday.
Yes, yes, yes.
that is Kimberly, the home of Jason Weamer.
I've skated there.
I skated there.
I did wallies in that rink.
Did you really?
Yeah, early September.
Williams had retired.
I was out there hunting elk,
but I needed to skate.
I ran hills down by the river.
And then I went over to the rink and the old man had a key.
And I did back and forth,
back and forth.
Because I love conditioning.
Yeah.
Right.
Can you imagine how many hard hits and people got knocked out in that barn?
Yeah.
Maybe.
Yeah.
There's some big burly mountain men.
Those are square corners like a trail too.
There's nowhere to hide.
You're not gliding out.
Yeah.
Like you look at that boat on the left.
That might be just because of the angle or the,
the iPhone lens,
but she's,
she's a sharp corner.
She says, yeah,
crisp turns.
You don't want to be a cruise ship in there.
You talk about,
can you,
young,
young weems in there?
Because young weems at what,
13, 14, would have already been 6.2.
Yeah, he was the same story.
Pulling at China shop.
So that's what we need. We need some rinks and we want them to, and not only do we need
them, but we're going to ask that they have some character to them.
Or I'm looking at him early. Farkas.
Fet up with this guy.
Are you?
Yeah.
Then he goes on the internet or on his social media and swears like, oh, I'm tough.
That's what I do.
That's my move.
It's my gig.

about it.
People are very excited about it.
A lot of it's done a cowboy hats last night.
Yeah.
It's too hip.
Not too hip.
It is not my thing.
And I have no problem with people that like country music like Jack.
And he's actually indoctrinated me slowly with the tunes in the morning before the show.
Jack's not hip.
No, I'm not hip at all.
Yep.

As we head to
the illustrious saddle dome and say good morning and good day to Pat's time
hi boys how do I uh how do I sound the internet's a bit of an issue here so I hope you can
hear me you're fine the you're beautiful beautiful oh oh hit the post go in
are the are the Canucks out there giving it they're all no this is uh this is the second
flames group so I'm watching the Canucks are
skating in Vancouver and then flying.
So I'm watching, I'm watching Devin Cooley and the rest of the guys that played on Sunday.
They're all out doing their, they're doing their thing right now.
So that would be the Bristevich group, Pat?
Is that correct?
This would be the Bristewitch-Tyson Gross group.
Yeah, this is, so, Perrek, Perak, Gridden, Hansek, they are all playing again tonight.
And then everybody else is not playing.
Who played on Sunday.
But I think those three guys will play tonight.
And they'll play again on Saturday in Edmonton in the final preseason game
where they'll probably go with the full meal deal again.
And they will probably see a really young lineup on Tuesday,
or Thursday when they go to Seattle.
So four preseason games.
I don't miss eight.
This is awesome.
I'm on board with four.
No split squad.
Like this is heaven compared to the eighth that we usually get.
Is it fair to the kids?
So they have a chance?
Do we know what they are already?
Honestly, like, it's, it's probably not, it's probably not fair.
Like, that's the, that's the only downside to it, right?
Is that, like, if you're Tyson Gross or Restevich or somebody like that,
you don't get anywhere near the runway you usually get,
um, which feels like there is less of an opportunity to actually make inroads.
Like, think about, think about SUNY as you'll probably play again on Thursday.
He's sported two goals on.
And yet it doesn't feel like he's got enough runway to crack the roster at a camp.
But it feels like the lines they're going with tonight are the lines outside of injuries.
The lines they're going with tonight would probably be the lines they go with next Thursday in the season opener.
So that would be the only point with the part would be like probably isn't enough runway for those guys.
Because every team is using this just as tune up games.
Whereas usually like, right, you know you play eight preseason games.
them in those six, seven, eight games.
Those are when you're using them actually these tuneups
as opposed to the ones before
that were more evaluation.
So these are all games to get ready.
Like none of the backup goalies are going to play.
It's going to be Wolfe. Two full games.
Cooley, two four games, because
they got to get these guys ready.
So there's, that's the downside
to have in four preseason games.
A little Penticton.
Do that again? Would that help?
Or is that still not?
I don't think, like, it's
sounds like the last I heard was that
they just like there was no upside
because the Canucks put that whole
thing on and I don't
know if they lost money on it
because I think they got a pretty good deal from
the house the Pinderbilt
and the Penticton V's but like they
I don't think they get any upside to it
they have to host the whole thing
and so it sounds like
it sounds like just the Canucks do in
training camp in Kenticton
is what they're going to move to. So they
They do that little next-in one rookie game that they do with the Oilers.
I think that's what it's going to be, kind of flip-flop that between Calgary and Edmonton.
I think that's what it's going to be for the foreseeable future as opposed to doing the old young stars.
I love that thing.
Ted Tickton was the greatest trip of a year.
So I'd love to see it back.
I don't care.
I don't make care what I think.
Yeah, I think that the team's found it to be a little bit of an inconvenience.
And it was, there were costs involved, hotels and food.
Oh, for Christ's sakes.
The whole thing.
You could, you could, and again, it's,
yeah, I don't know how they'll survive.
They had to go to Penticton for a weekend.
Put them out of business.
Is there, we talked with Conroy yesterday.
There's just, there's not a lot of jobs to be one.
Like you said, that, that roster outside of the backup goalie,
that's probably what we're going to see on opening night.
And then beyond that,
there's maybe it's opportunity, but there really isn't.
Who would be feeling the most hard done by as somebody that would be,
if there weren't this many wingers or if there weren't just many setters or D,
like who's maybe a candidate or two that feels like under a different
circumstances I could be here this year?
I think, I think it's the guy that Tinder brought up right from the get-go and I think it's
Chris Kevich.
She played, what, 34 NHL games last year and,
seemed like in the back stretch of the season was starting to figure it out and kind of plank his flag.
And then they go out and they get Nemitz and they get Middleton.
And it basically put him like what I had heard was as far back as like mid-August.
Yeah, Bresnech is kind of in one.
He's probably going to have to fight uphill when we get to camp.
And that's exactly what it's looking like right now.
So you get Nemitz.
okay well that puts him on the right side but then the word then was well maybe you can move
correct to the left because he played so well on the left at the end of last year and he prefers that
but then they go and get middleton in the deal with Minnesota and they love middleton and they want
them to play and they want them to play with correct so that puts correct back on the right
and so now you're in a situation where where does brisdevich fit because their right side is
White Cloud Nemitz and Perak.
So if you're Bristevich, you're number four on the depth chart on the right.
You probably don't want him playing on his offside.
And so you don't want him in the Pahal-Hanley mix where those guys are sitting basically
every night unless somebody's sick or hurt.
And so the best thing for what, 21-year-old Hunter Bristevich, probably to play him
in the American leave, which sucks because he's on the depth chart ahead of Hanley and
ahead of the hall.
But he's not going to play.
on the right side. So their thought process is, I think that it doesn't require waivers.
This is his last year of being waiver exempt. So let him go to the American League, play on the top
pair there, and when things open up in the NHL, bring him back up. But I would think him would, like,
he would be the guy at the very top of the, that this situation sucks. The other guy, the other guy
would probably be gross because he looked really good. I thought it's kind of a number four center
option last year, but they
seem pretty set on going
posthal as the number four
center to start the year, and they really want to
give that a run. It felt like they
bounced them around a little bit too much last
year. So with pospacil
there, that means Tyson Gross
probably starts in the American league, but yeah,
it feels like Bristevich is the guy
that is maybe getting the shortest end
of the stick right now. Do you
sense any sort of animosity between
the Bristevich camp and the flames? Is everyone
Kumbaya on the same page? Is the friction?
Do you have any sort of intel about how this message has been received by his camp?
Because I really haven't given the chance.
He started to train your camp in the B group.
He's the B group.
I think he probably, like he talked to us ahead of the game on Sunday.
And, you know, a couple people saw if asked if they, you know,
a couple questions to see if he would bite.
But he was pretty locked down on the responses he was given.
So I think there's probably a little.
little bit of what's
happening here, but I do know it's
been message to him
pretty clearly right from the get-go.
Here's the reason why we see
you as an NHL guy, we still see
you as part of it, but it might
just take a little while.
I think that they
delivered that message. Whether or not
it lands, though, I don't know.
It can only land so well.
Sorry, Patrick, couldn't you have. There's no
damn way he's going, yeah, hey, no problem.
This is great. Absolutely.
No worries.
It's a bit great.
The whole situation, right?
Yeah, he's good.
Hopefully that fires him up and he plays while on the American.
What's your take on Pospicile?
I guess Pospicel A and then B at Center and then Connor Zeri, because Zeri was a guy
that was like, oh, this guy's going to play some center.
And they've tried that a little bit.
And he's also been injured.
Those two guys, they came in at the same time, played with Codry.
And everybody was like, these two guys have arrived.
This is a great news situation for the play.
claims. Both guys have been injured and have struggled to find a foothold. And Conroy said yes,
it's kind of a big year for both of these guys. I guess just your thoughts on posthal at center
and where Conner's area is at. I mean, it is a massive year for both guys. I think massive year
in terms of where do they fit when the organization go in full. If you've got Reshney coming
and maybe one of those other two guys knocks on the door and shows that they can play in this league,
Well, where did that leave
Hospicell? Where does that leave
Zeri's full-time top 12 guys in this lineup?
Like, is it a huge year for both guys.
I think, you know, in terms of the center,
I think I'm more intrigued on Pospisal
just because he brings that speed
and the group that he's going with.
Like if it works, like him,
Cipikov and Klapka feel like a real,
like that feels like a game.
He asks to play against.
And,
and a group that, you know, might be able to forge a little bit of an identity for themselves.
But I really, I really think both guys are in limbo land when it comes to their futures with the planes.
And they've got to make him, I'm kind of, for the longest time, I was like, yeah, yeah, trizaryate center,
trizary at center.
I'm kind of out on that experiment.
I don't know if the split speed is there and the pace of decision making.
Like, you've got to make that decision when you enter the, the offensive zone,
so quickly and Zeri still has this tendency to hold the puck and they're really trying to like
get guys to make decisions quick and like that pace of play is something to really press them
even more so this year and so I'm I'm not as convinced that Zeri as a center is going to work
but I still think there's something there and they seem to like Ryan Husk has said he wants
to make sure that both guys auspicil and Zeri are bounced around the lineup a whole
lot less.
Those got Zeri Bust have played with like 15 different dudes last year.
And as much as part of the, part of the blame as to his inconsistency goes on him,
you also probably haven't set him up to succeed as well as you could have.
And that's why so many people make the Sam Bennett comparison with Conner Zeri.
And so I think there is a commitment from management down for both guys who I think were the
two, the two who got bounced around the most last year to maybe give them a little bit of
runway. So Zerry's going to play with Strome and Sharingovich to start the year.
And Pospisal is going to center that fourth the line to start the year. And they're going to,
they've given it runway in camp. They're going to give it runway in the regular season.
But I think this is a massive year for both guys. And like those trade rumors that were floating
around Zeri, those weren't manufactured. Like there, there was definitely discussion about
what is the best road to go down with Zeri. And if you're not getting any,
type of good offer.
Well, yeah, it makes sense to see what you can do with them.
But I think that with so many guys coming, I spoke to Ray Edwards on Monday, the director
of player development, he basically, what he said was like this is different.
There's a different Calgary claim.
There are more guys coming every year.
So I asked them specifically about Pristevich, but I think it applies to everybody.
Like there are young players coming.
Carson Carls is going to be here by the end of the year.
Cole Reschney is going to be here by the end of the year.
You know, Jack Textol and Ethan Wittenbach and these guys are coming.
And so now if you're a Connor Zerian, you're in your mid-20s, well, you're no longer a prospect.
And now you're, okay, you've got to fight for your job.
And if they have somebody like Reshti, he's ready to replace you, they're going to have to make this.
They can only put 23 on the active roster.
So, yeah, I don't know how it's going to go.
I don't know how Zerian Pasta silver are going to perform.
And I don't know whether or not this is, I don't know whether or not this.
is a long-term fit for them, which is why I'm so fascinated to see, like, how they actually
play and what type of impact they make.
Because if they are the inconsistent guys they've been, I think the writing's on the wall
as to where this goes.
If they respond, well, now it makes a little bit of a tougher decision for the flames,
and maybe there's a real discussion to be that.
Is there a vibe there that Zeri did request a trade?
Because we talked about some of these other, can Dylan Lark and go back?
and it's way higher profile guys
and they absolutely ask to be traded.
But there's always kind of that,
well, does he want out?
Did he ask to be traded?
But now he's still here, I like him.
But is he in?
Is he out?
I mean, what, as far as you can tell,
was there a request to be traded?
And what's the tone right now?
I don't believe,
my understanding is there's never like a trade request.
It was more just, hey, let's,
hey, we're in a situation where we're deeper.
And let's have some conversations about guys
who might be of interest.
I think that's more where the trade rumors were coming from on his airy front.
And I think, you know, I know there's Francis's got a feature coming out with him in a couple of days.
He spoke today.
I think he knows.
I think he knows the situation.
I think he knows what he needs to answer the bell in a big, big way.
He still is a very confident guy and really confident in his own abilities.
But I think the best way to put it is that last.
year the two
sides are
Connor and the coaching staff
I think they were on different planes and they were
on different pages and I don't think that that
is something that is irreconcilable
like I think they can fix it and I think
that they are
if Jerry is able to
respond to getting some runway
in the same spot I think
it's very much a relationship that
is still in good shape so I don't think there's any
like this isn't Larkin this isn't
Lachin this isn't it's not even Marchenko
in Columbus.
Like, I don't think there's any of that.
I just think there's a real realization on both sides that, you know,
Zeri needs to respond and the flames need to figure out exactly what Zeri is.
And if they don't figure that out come January, February,
then those conversations about where he ends up going become, I think, a whole lot more real
because come January, February will be weeks away from college season ending and things getting real.
So it's, I don't think we're talking about a relationship that is in bad shape or that can't be fixed.
I just think that both sides know that this is a really big year to figure out what it's all about.
We mentioned Pospisole and Zarian, the roles that injuries have played there, like inconsistency and injuries kind of go hand in hand.
It's tough to get consistent minutes if you're not available.
They both had a slew of injuries over the last few years.
Another guy that has is Sam Hansick.
I mean, a healthy Sam Hansick year would be amazing.
I don't think we've seen it even since his draft year
where he got hurt at the World Juniors.
Every year there's something.
But the glowing reviews from Ryan Huska following Sunday in how he's looking.
But he could have come back and played at the end of last year
if the games mattered.
But they get him a ton of time to recover from that shoulder surgery.
Yeah.
And he's even added a little bit more.
bulk in strength. He looks like even more of like, oh, that's a man. And one of the things that
they liked when they, when they drafted him in the first round in 2023 was the fact that he got
kind of that power forward frame, but he was still 18 years old. But now that he's been a
foe for a few years and he's really hit it hard in the summertime, that's two years in a row
that he's come back at, holy Sam Hansa. I thought, I thought he was a different human being
when I saw him on the ice. Who is that guy?
And he's, oh, that's Hans.
He looks like he has put the time in.
So if he can stay healthy,
and everything that I understand is that the upper body injuries, 100%,
there's no worry there.
It's stronger than it's ever been.
This strength and conditioning staff worked really hard with him.
He pounded it in the offseason, the training in Slovakia.
And everything that we've seen, like you watch him in practice,
you watch him in that preseason game.
The size that he's added hasn't messed with his speed.
like he's still got some of the best burst and foot speed on the team
and the thing that they like about him is that they could use him in all situations
I don't think there's a expectation that Ponzette's going to be a high-end offensive guy
and I don't think they're going to be talking about him playing in big power play roles
or anything like that from the get-goat but they love them on the penalty belt
and they love them on back when's plank and that line back when Sperabee
Han Zet, but I still think they're going to be just crushed with defensive starts and tough
opposition. And they love the fact that Hansen speed, the way that he can work a forecheck,
win puck battles can help that line continue to just win their battles against top lines on a
regular basis. And so that's that's the role they see Hanzek in. And he looks and that was the
role he was forging and developing before the injury when he had.
the freak accident was back in November.
And so he was really starting to plan his flag as a guy who could do just that.
It was Hansek back when Coleman was the line they were going with every night.
And Hanzek looked like he belonged there.
So if he picks up and everything that we've seen so far,
looks like he's going to pick up where he left off.
I don't know.
I'm actually really intrigued.
Again, I don't think Hanzek's going to be a 70-point player.
But for a guy they drafted in the first round,
who can turn into an everyday, you know, shutdown, two-way,
winger that you can play a ton of penalty kill time and top even strength situations.
I think he's got the chance of turning into a pretty useful player here.
Pat Stuyberg, the host of Flames Now on QR 77 pregame.
That still feels weird.
I know.
I'm going to just, yes, cleanse my palate with it, get it more normal.
I love it.
Yeah.
So are you going with preseason games?
Are we tightening up or are we doing full?
Full broadcast, the whole thing.
How about this?
We're doing for the first,
we're doing 90 minute pregame shows.
So we did our first 90 on Sunday.
It gives a little bit more time to flesh it out.
I was actually,
I was a little worried about it.
Geez, I never had a 90 minute pregame show.
Maybe a playoff game I have,
but of all the playoffs games,
I've got a chance to have it.
But I was like, I don't have never.
But it actually flowed really well.
Like, it was really good.
We got some good interviews.
We got some more discussing.
So, I said, that's good.
So, so game day, like today, you start at 3.30 and blend up to stuff.
They're, uh, they're invested.
They're in, that's coverage.
And it's been so far.
So yeah, pre-air at 5.30 and, uh, flames now starts a pre-30.
There's a bunch of Dusters alumni down there tonight.
Go find them.
Oh, what do we, what do we got coming?
Everyone, they'll dim.
The meeting's on there.
They're having a meeting.
The meeting.
There's a big meeting.
Okay.
I'll keep an eye.
I've already seen Joel out today.
So I'll keep an eye out.
Thank you, Patrick.
Hi, voice.
There is.
Pat Stuyberg, QR 77.
It's a new phone.
The cell service will be better at the,
I believe it will be at the new rig.
Right.
That's what it'll be.
There you go.
Crystal water is plumbing and heating your crystal clear choice for home comfort.
Crystal Clearcallegri.com.
Preventative maintenance.
Get ahead of it.
Pat is our crystal waters.
Yeah.
He's very reassuring.
Just feel very at ease when he's around.
No, no, I understand what's happening.
Yeah.
And I can explain it for you.
I don't get.
No, no, this is how it's supposed to.
He was just trying to start trade room versus Zeri.
Yeah.
Or was he putting them at, was he, no, as far as I know, there's not been a,
got a request.
Yeah, I never got the sense that was Zeri's camp leading it.
It was more just like you have this overabundance of wingers.
And he's clearly been passed by Gridd.
and was being passed by Hansick before the injury.
And it's like, we'll take a second for them.
And the league was like, nah.
Yeah, I don't know.
That's the question, right?
How did it come to be?
Because we were definitely hearing about Conner's air being available.
Yeah.
The flames were taking offers, whether it was the kid and the agent that asked for it or not.
But it's a first round pick.
And at some point, it's either you realize it's not going to work here,
or you try and make it work.
I don't know.
I still don't know where I fall in.
I was a big fan prior,
but the injury stuff is just,
yeah,
injuries are just hurt them.
Yeah.
Hurt them literally.
I forget if you have it on.
I hope the other guy that we're counting on the first rounder,
that that injury bug can go away.
I don't need Sam Hansick missing games.
It's a unique skill set.
Like Pat talked about it.
He's a horse man.
And he is probably one of your best skating forwards.
I don't know exactly what.
he is, but you know, we were at that draft in
Nashville, do you know where they took him?
And, you know, Rhett wasn't a fan
of them taking that pick there, but
there was an intriguing set of skills
that Connie's liked right from that day, obviously.
Yeah, make no mistake.
They could finally see him healthy.
Maybe we'll see what they were projecting back then.
They had much higher hopes.
Like they, they saw him as being
an elite power forward.
I like what Pat's saying, and
he's going to find a role and be an effective
of hockey player, but that's
is that what you're
so you think they thought they were getting like a 40 goal
guy, the 12 to 13 hole there?
They thought they were getting
that's not typically what you get in the draft there, right?
Like that's your average guy
in the range of where he's picked is not
a first line winger.
Well, some of us like to dream big, Ryan.
No, I mean, by all means you're right.
Hit the home runs, right? Like, for sure.
I don't know. I just feel like sometimes we
we have this first round label and say,
oh, they're all going to be stars.
You look back to the draft 10 years later.
You're like, shit, a third of these guys,
you even have two or games.
Like, never mind middle of the lineup careers.
No, that's,
you don't want to pick those guys.
I get it, but it's like,
I don't know.
I don't think it's crazy to suggest they thought he could be a,
a middle six wigger with size.
I think,
I think they saw
Miko Ranton-esque stuff with this guy.
Okay.
And that hasn't.
I mean,
you could dream on that for sure.
Yeah.
It's clearly not going to be that, but there's still probably a good hockey.
Why?
Stay healthy.
Well, I mean, I don't know.
Let's look at the first three years from you current his career versus
Hansick hasn't even played.
I don't even know how to.
No, I know.
You just wish health for this guy, right?
Wasn't it backler to hit him last year?
It was.
He's a dirty prick that backlund.
Oh, wait.
Not back.
Friendly fire.
Oh, backland.
Our own guy.
Our own guy.
deadly fire.
He knows who's going to take a spot in the line.
eliminates the issue.
That's what being a veteran's all about,
recognizing the problems that are coming up.
And it's a good thing because Backlens the captain,
so he can really, really make it hard on the guys
he doesn't want around.
That's right.
Spite. He can spite them.
GamTech, you need some IT help.
You don't have an IT department.
Your IT department, very small.
You have a, your small.
Shoveler's terrible.
Your small business is it?
She's your IT.
Oh, the computers are down.
Oh, whether they're having any issues.
You can't, especially when you're a small business.
You cannot have your tech letting you down.
It's the lifeblood of your business.
Started in 2012, still Calgary-based, working with a number of ton of businesses across Canada,
IT department for small and mid-sized businesses, SOC2 certified, a certified B-Corp,
which means they are being audited on how they handle client data to make sure that they are running your business the right way.
If losing hours to computers that don't work or one bad click away from being shut down for a week.
They're the call to make. Go to gamtech.com.com.com.com.
That is gametech.g.g.g.g.g.com. No obligation quote. Sock too.
Yeah, we had that guy reach out. He's like, sock too. It's pronounced sock to.
It's actually pretty good. So here you go. Thanks. And you said the shoveler does your IT at home.
She does my socks too.
Yeah, Jack was going to go through a longer.
He found that, yeah.
That's right.
Yes.
I'm worried about this next segment here.
Oh, dear.
Because I kind of know.
Oh.
Hmm.
Oh, shoot.
Yeah.
It's our football picks.
We make them Fridays and then we revisit it,
depending on if somebody is taking the Monday night football game or what have you.
I know I got one.
I got off to a great start.
I don't even know the other teams I picked.
I was in a panic because Jack was yelling at me.
That's right.
Well, sorry, Jack.
A presentation of Bet365 in a game as fast as hockey.
It pays to be early.
And the same goes with Bet365.
Whether it's the Early Bird Special's boosted pregame odds
or instant midgame payouts with early payout,
they're the barn for winning early this season.
bet 365, the home of winning early.
Alberta only must be 18 years of age or older in Alberta.
Please play responsibly.
So it's football.
Aish.
Oh, dear.
Oh, no.
Oh, Jack.
What is that photo?
Do we have a photo ad plan?
No.
Oh, Jack.
So whoever finishes last earns the title of Clown of the Week.
We may as well start there, Jack, rather than work back.
Jacksonville, Denver, shitty game.
Yeah, Denver bounced back after that atrocious game in week one.
Baltimore was in good shape until they weren't.
Yeah, that New Orleans team is kind of sneaky.
Yeah, they are.
Now, you wanted off of Pittsburgh.
I wanted to switch it to the under, which would have won.
By a lot.
And we gave you the chance and you, no, no, I'll keep it.
the Eagles had the seven point you know in hindsight
I'll talk about when I get the money anyway they didn't cover
Green Bay and it was raining and gross
and Carolina won by a million
so if there's any solace there the one that you did get
right it was a huge win
which I also had two and a half
Tampa Bay
eight and a half
I just I've overestimated Baker
and this offense apparently
Cleveland, that's a tough one.
Yeah, it was not great.
The Philly one, I caught myself afterwards.
I thought about it later in the day is Philly on the road giving up seven,
giving up seven on the road.
Should have known better, should have known better.
Was that Washington?
Is that who they had?
Trying to remember.
Or was that week one?
Who Philly?
Washington and Dallas.
Right.
Philly.
Tennessee.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah, they actually surprisedly looked okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, Jacksonville, disappointing. Denver bounced back.
Their defense certainly did. Seattle, they crushed.
So thankfully for there, I get to keep off the red nose.
And Kansas City wins, but don't clear six and a half.
Stupid Kansas.
Retro.
I felt all right.
Yeah.
That's fine.
500 wins the week.
It's kind of the question is that what is Green Bay?
I had a little higher hope.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you're.
You look at that receiving group.
in the tight end and oh, Jordan loves this and that, like, they just,
it was a bad weather game.
Right?
Like in New York, it was hard to know.
Yeah, I mean, the bears go from 59 to three.
Yeah, how do you?
Yeah, definitely the weather report looked like it was going to be slop in New York
and it was going to be fine in Chicago.
And then by the time Sunday rolled around, it was the exact opposite.
It was pouring for most of that bears game.
I imagine you watch most of that, you know?
Yeah, it was, it was hard.
Hard to watch.
Oh, I mean, shit.
swift fumbles at the one yard line it's early in the season we're still figuring things out that's right
I'll get a grass over a job in san fran though good job in san fran
over here in week one and week two is a lot unders we'll see we'll figure it up I'm confident moving
forward I'm not I already set my bed set I feel I like I've learned some hard lessons this
week learn some hard lessons to fall to four and six I will be very cute
curious to see how a jack does
what he, if he steers away
for it. Did you see the jackometer this week, Ryan?
It was on yes. I just heard it was a two.
I didn't see it. It's like, oh my God.
Like that's, it's a
tough watch right now.
It's not a lot to look forward
to either. Like the bottom. He just looks like
an old man that needs to go away, doesn't he?
Tomlin? Rogers.
Oh, Rogers.
Fat Mike? Yeah, I do.
It's as bad as you can get.
Canada? It was a, it was a,
it was a totally not dynamic, boring, slow, unsexy offense last year.
And it just looks a year older.
Yeah, pretty much.
Matt Calf and Rogers.
Go get them, boys.
Make him away, toys.
You get a ticket to the game now, though.
It's not as sought to ask.
Acrecher.
Are you going to watch a game anytime soon?
No.
No, I.
So there go.
Those are our bets for Bet365.
Early Bird Special, boosted pregame.
Oh, it's midgame.
It's all there for you.
And you got to love that early payout.
The home of winning early,
Bet 365,
Alberta only must be 18 years of age or older.
Please play responsibly.
Game tonight,
watching hockey tonight.
It's in Calgary, right?
It's not those 9 o'clock.
No, it is here.
Yeah, right?
Yeah, you're going to wait for that time change, too, for that.
If it's on the tube, I'll probably turn it on.
It got kids stuff.
always kids stuff there's always kids stuff always
single kids
kind of getting away of doing anything fun
kids do some days yeah some days
we do this
super chat money comes in here on the YouTube
chat as we are live goes to the youth centers of
Calgary and then that means you get a comment on the show
fellas
fucking rights
having Steinberg is a weekly
guest this season any other boys for the old
shop going to be guests?
Kaiser Chosei. Hansik and SUNY
excellent.
Thanks for the Aussie Bradd update, Jack.
No problem, buddy.
Oh, didn't we have, Jay?
Kaiser.
Kaiser.
Jack, did they make you watch
that movie last year? I'm trying to remember.
Usual suspects?
No.
He never seen.
His brain doesn't.
I can't focus for
I can't read me books, can't watch a movie.
You're cooked, your brain's cooked, Jack.
I know, I know. It's fine.
That's a nice $10 there for the U.S.
$0.00. Thank you, Kaiser.
Very nice.
Big Bear, Big Bear.
Old Big Bear 13.
Congrats, a little Big Bear
on making the Ireland U18 national team.
Whoa.
Debuts at U18 exhibition tour to BC this October.
He'll only be 14, but he's 6.3,
a buck, 16, has been tripping,
grown men all summers.
Use your stick. It's good stick.
Ireland, hey?
Ireland.
Ireland. It's hockey big
in Ireland? Huge. What does it
take to make the U18
national team in Ireland?
It's 14, 6.3.
Buck 60. That's what it takes.
And coaching.
The motivation, because I've got to imagine that
real big bear
has him on the right track.
Unlike Pinder and his kids. Correct.
Yeah. Where's dad?
I don't know.
He's at that ring.
He's at the rink.
Well, we're not playing.
Yeah, but there's a pub.
There's a pub.
In between the rink, there's a pub.
I met what are your curling?
I shouldn't say that.
Powell.
Oh, Powell's a beauty, yeah.
Yes.
Yeah, he's like, he's a band.
He's blurry.
He probably doesn't get my humor.
Yeah, we were, uh, he was telling me how serious you are about this.
The curling.
We're just trying not to lose to 80-year-olds, man.
No, no, he's such an idiot and way too serious and ruining it for everybody else.
You should have seen me yesterday, Dean, getting stoned on every shootout attempt, just furious with myself.
You've got to recognize you're no good at it.
I know.
Like, literally, my game is like penalty kill, dump, and chase.
I don't need shootouts.
So why are you judging yourself on your ability to score?
His competitive spirit, like, it just, it's amazing to watch.
You talk about the intangibles.
They matter.
Watching this guy like to lose.
No kid has, no coaches ever told Ryan,
I just wish you would try hard.
I wish you hated to lose.
I wish you would try harder.
No one has ever said that to Ryan.
And it drives people like rat nuts because he's,
all these guys have played in the league have immense skill.
And you get these Harvey tryards coming out.
But I'm like, I don't have hands.
I can't shoot it.
Like, I have to skate hard.
It's my only tool.
Remember the first year.
But nobody cares what kind of, you're a tool.
Nobody's judging your tools.
Like, it's, we recognize you're the shits and just go ahead and have some fun.
That's okay.
The first year in Jasper, Rose Hill's there and talk.
And he's like, this pender is flying around here.
He's going to get it.
Like, I'm going to, I'm going to, he's going to get the lumber here if this continues.
He had me on the trolley tracks,
raided the snowbank,
and it took every fiber in his body to not cross-check me into the snowbank.
And he was like,
like if this was real hockey,
I would kill you.
Yeah.
Yeah, he was prepared to launch you into orbit.
I thought it was that.
Who is this guy?
It's dangerous for everyone else out there when you're shitty and you try too hard.
That's the problem.
The bond hockey's perfect because we're all shitty.
Like Rosie only played the one year, I think.
Well, yeah, you couldn't.
He's closer to Jasper than any of us.
He's an old.
Well, so you're back.
Tough to leave.
Tough to leave Toronto.
You know what?
My mom's from here,
so I got to see a bunch of my cousins and nieces.
That was great.
It's warmer in Calgary, apparently.
Sure.
Yeah, nice day.
There's all kinds of people.
out here having a party because the studio's done
and they're cracking beers so probably here to the airport
and home.
Less of a few beers
and
a little sidetracked.
Maybe you'll catch the red eye home
you wouldn't be the first guy that misses a flight
that happens every day. People get tied up, can't do it.
Traffic. Yeah. I had
30C right next to the shitter on the way out.
That was not a move I recommend. Yeah, convenient.
Quiet fact.
It was just something.
died. I've never
like literally
an hour like this. It was
appalling.
Oh.
Some can't do that on a plane, people.
Just gotta. Just gotta do it.
Jack.
Yeah. How was the show today?
Thank you, Jack.
Push the button.
Brian, get back here. We don't need you there.
I've seen, I can see,
I've seen John throughout the show, just either
kind of shaking his head behind the monitor,
because I only see about this much of them.
It's like buddy on home improvement.
And then partway through the stymie there,
I can see he's just laughing at something like,
I thought retro was going to tune out or fall asleep.
I was.
You did kind of have the one eye.
Pat's a 17 minute answer.
Yeah.
Oh, Christ.
He's a talker.
I love it.
There's 90 minute pregame.
You got to fill that time, do you know?
You can just shut my camera off.
Then I'll know it's okay to close my eyes.
We'll do it tomorrow.
reaction from tonight's matchup.
We'll have noodles coming by.
Grab some bricks.
Bring some bricks back so we can.
Good as you.
That's right.
Through some of the hockey bag.
See you,
buddies.
