Bomb, bomb, bomb.
Here we are on a, a balmy.
It's a Wednesday.
Shorts and T-shirt today.
Very nice.
Yeah.
I would not have.
Yeah, there you go.
Show those gams.
Yeah.
Would not have been recommended wear for softball last night.
Yeah, how did you survive?
It was awesome.
When did the rain start falling?
That's first pitch.
Yeah, okay.
You were seven o'clock start?
You know what, though?
That's just speaks to the.
kids they they battle through this beer they're tough this generation real tough yeah sorry
645 but in our part of that probably it moved its way so by the time seven come from the south
it was great yeah um so uh so yeah but that's the thing about calcare you know you just wait a little
bit huh what'll happen uh weather will change
you don't like it jack you're new here you ever heard that wait five minutes oh how you like it
here. How do you like the weather?
Oh, it's awful. Well, just wait
five minutes. Hey, let's
get into it. It is a, this thing that we do
is a presentation of Bet365.
Whatever your bet is, it's never ordinary at Bet365
official partner of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
He must be 19 or older. And I noticed
yesterday, we did not.
Hit the horn once.
Maybe. I really hope Hansom Dan's
going to have his random team picking machine
going today. Maybe today.
If you're in the YouTube chat, as
we go live and you put some money down.
We take that money and we get it to the youth centers of Calgary.
And then we'll put your comment in a like a banner type fashion.
A little comment.
A little comment.
Yeah.
On the text bubble.
Yeah.
Did you win?
I believe so.
You know what's nice when you sit through a couple hours of rain and really, really cold,
wind, a tie.
Ah, yeah.
It just wouldn't be fair.
One of those teams that they grind through that rain to go home.
without at least
I feel like Dean wouldn't get one rat's ass
if it was a tie or not.
I got a feeling he doesn't know the score.
The game was watching.
The other hand would be irate.
I was not upset with the tie.
But nice little closure came in.
Bang, bang, bang.
Protect the deer.
I see it down.
Nice.
Yeah.
Call it.
Um,
there was hockey last night.
Finally.
Yeah.
Hell's been going.
Come on, Gary.
We had that one day off.
Shee.
One day the last three months.
How are you thinking?
Unacceptable stuff.
It's the Eastern Conference final.
So that means that it's on the left side of the map.
If it's upside down, yeah.
Well, it depends which way you're looking at it.
Are you standing in the North Pole?
Florida Panthers just continue to be no fun to play against.
It's been three years of this.
shit. Like they just have steamrolled through the east. And five two, which somehow sounds flattering
to the Carolina Hurricanes. Cains had the puck a lot in terms of possession. They had some
scoring chances, but did not capitalize. This was kind of a five one game. The one goal was a
power play goal late after it was well in hand. And I mean, at the same time, this, this felt like,
oh, you know, if it was Paul Maurice, if he wanted to do that thing.
After you just shit, pump an opponent, well, you know, it's a game of chances.
And if they capitalize on their chances and we got some balances, it's really a lot closer.
But you guys are going to kill these guys.
You guys are going to go and crush up.
I don't know.
Panthers just look very.
Tidy.
Determined.
Very business-like.
I was listening on the radio again because we don't like to be home ever, apparently.
Yeah.
Just in the carlton.
Yeah, it's good.
And then a lot of times.
the person in charge of the driving
Fs up the times and locations
so then it adds
more driving and time spent.
Anyway, that is one of
Billy Lindsay, my old teammate, that was his take,
is that the Panthers are good.
Yeah. Yeah.
There's probably not as much shame
in losing to the Panthers as we've made it out to be.
I think it's more to do with the least history.
Like, I don't know who you'd pick over
the Panthers in a series right now.
there's not many of the.
Also Billy Lindsay, because I couldn't watch it,
who's saying that in a way,
Carolina screwed up because they tried to engage with them physically.
Yeah.
And it kind of should have maybe let him sleep a little.
So Carolina,
early on, make sure they get a piece of Sergey Bobrovsky.
It's like, what?
You're inviting the Panthers to an alley fight?
That guy with the crowbar, that guy with the iron pipe,
you're bringing them to the alley?
What are you doing?
And I wonder if that's,
part of the problem with teams now is that they're trying to show that we can stand up to you.
We won't take your guff, Dean.
Look how tough we are.
You know, when you hit me, I'll hit you right back.
Hey, you know what?
We've got, we've got gusto.
Yes.
We're not afraid to show you.
Not afraid.
At the same time, they do need to do something with Bobrovsky because he's very good.
And if he sees it, he's stopping everything.
Even in this game, there's got to be a slide in, Dean.
Some decent chances.
Now, there was some contact.
It was game one of the previous series involving the Florida Panthers, where Sam Ben,
kind of cruise through the crease and give it to the old, oopsie.
There's a light tap.
Oh, did I catch you there?
Sorry, bud.
Oh, are you pukin?
Oh, you're pukin.
Oh, your head spinning, bud.
Why are we talking about this?
Because it happened again last night.
Somebody's pukin?
Well, not pukin.
But Andre Svetnikov, I'm going to come through the crease.
I'm just going to kind of clip.
I'm going to kind of just side of your head.
It's a lot.
Totally on purpose.
I mean, by accident.
I just kind of.
It's a lot more than a Bennett hit.
That's a hip.
Definitely got the hip.
It's not a hip.
at selling the fake. And again,
remind us who Carolina's goalie is and what his
reputation is. If we're going to get into this sport.
Yeah, Fred Anderson.
Howie Anderson is known for two things.
Being a Danish goal in the NHL and
out being injured. Always being injured.
So game one, you're like, let's trade goalie hits.
Maybe not your best tactical decision.
Yeah. I don't like it.
Or maybe it is. Or maybe it is. I don't know.
It feels like they need, they need to do something
to win this series.
Getting a lead is the thing you wanted to do.
But if you, sure.
Yeah.
Okay.
They didn't do that.
Score more goals than the opponent.
It sounds a little simpler, more simplistic than it is.
If he's feeling okay.
The barber.
Yeah.
So, well, they, we've got four days rest and they're coming in off of a game seven.
All right.
Oh, the goal I can see everything.
So you got to get traffic.
All right.
We got to run the goalie.
All right.
Don't do that.
They allowed two power play goals to the Panthers last night.
and I believe they allowed two in rounds one and two combined.
But it was one of those nights.
It would be frustrating if you were a Keynes fan
or if you were Rod the Bod.
Because you did do a lot of things right.
You shot the opponent.
You had the puck a lot.
You didn't take a lot of penalties,
but when you did, it was in the back of your net.
I was saying to Ryan this morning,
there's a few of these goals.
I think it's the, well, we can run through them.
AJ Greer is the one you're doing.
Yeah, I think it's the 3-1 goal.
It's your fourth line.
And there's just every little thing that you need to go right on this place.
So this is Mikaula behind the net.
And watch him just look at him go.
So it's a nice little backhand sauce to the blanky defenseman onto the tape of A.J. Greer who roofs it on a one touch.
That's your fourth line scoring that kind of a goal.
Now I couldn't, I don't know if it's worn or whiteboard material.
you can't let that pass go through, I guess.
No, but the guy can back check too.
Who's back checking?
Come on.
Blake,
Blake.
That's a 200-foot goal.
That's a hell of a goal.
And again,
that's your second pair and your fourth line.
Like,
I don't know how many A.J.
Greer is scoring like that or that Mekyll is doing the dish.
Win in the playoffs.
Yeah.
You can see the Keynes had chances.
It didn't play.
Well,
the top four teams in the league are left.
Yeah.
Paul Marix was asked before the game, what he expected between two teams that are really good at shutting it down and really strong defensively?
And he's like, this is not going to be a skills competition, but there are going to be some really small area, tight time skill plays.
And that's what he's talking about right there.
It's like who can make the one pass in crowd to find the spot and then put it up in a spot where the goal is not.
I mean, first period, Stankhoven has, it's not the same play.
But he's, he's alone in front, it has kind of a backdoor tap in.
The net's open and he can't get a stick on it.
And they come back the other way.
That's a tough couple of games.
And they score.
Because he got the paddle, the Logan Thompson paddle last game against the caps.
We can show the five, I think it's the five one goal.
Carolina is doing what they can to get back into this game.
They've got, again, Florida is very happy protecting a lead.
It's the third period.
But again, young, whatever Morrow is his name, the defenseman.
Debutt, try to get the puck out, puts it into the penalty box, penalty.
Yeah, this is the 5-1 goal, and this is actually the 5-on-5 goal, sorry.
And it's just you can't lose a guy for even a second.
Yeah.
Lost Ryan.
Well, and that was the Four Nations goal that won it all, right?
It's like you let McDavid have a split second if you're Austin and Matthews,
and there it is you lose.
Like, it's just that this is how thin the margins are.
And you got a guy playing his first ever NHL game tomorrow, I believe, at least his
playoff debut.
And it was Eckblad who scored.
a nearly identical goal where he had sifted over to the left side and was left alone and put it in the
and put it in the roof with the goal he entirely screened yeah let's go to four one goal jack let's go
four one sorry i probably uh should have labeled them differently anyway sam bennett scores again
and when it's going right it's going right yeah this is a nothing there's just nothing there's
there's there's it's a nothing play we're in good shape okay i'm just going to throw it at the net and it's
muffin at the net.
Okay.
Did it go off a sudden?
No.
It was just low and about a foot and a half off the ice.
Just inside the post.
A perfect shot had to be as a number of the shots were that went in on this night.
So for Freddie Anderson, number one goal in the league.
I don't know what in the playoffs until last night.
Yeah, he had allowed more than two only once.
It was up six in this one.
So it was two on four, then four goals on.
16 and 5 on 19.
Man.
That hole.
That's the spot.
So it is one of those.
So Carolina, what are you going to do?
You're going to.
You tried a lot last night.
You tried to stay disciplined.
You tried to be physical.
You tried to do a lot of things and you lost six to.
And you put it to bed and you go on and play the same way in the next game.
Yep.
And you might get the bounces the other way next game.
Yeah.
Because if you think you're going to go and reinvent the wheel,
I don't think you got time for that.
There's going to be a conversation, I think, about the quality of opponent
the Carolina's had.
And we've kind of alluded to it that that quarter of the bracket was the weakest.
You had New Jersey limping in with injuries who were going to be a good team,
but lost Jack Hughes.
We're missing some other key parts.
Marksler made a shitty second half of the year, although he's okay in the playoffs.
And then you get at Washington Club where it was the first time in the playoffs for a lot of those players.
Like not Ovi, not Carlson, but almost everyone else, like, that they count on the McClain.
Michaels, the protuses, Tom Wilson's obviously been there,
but teams that when you just looked at, say,
that 365, for example, weren't high in cup odds.
Like New Jersey and Washington were well down the list,
beyond the Edmonton, Toronto, Florida, Tampa's of the world.
And, you know, this is the best team they've played in the playoffs,
obviously, but I think for the other three semifinalists,
tougher roads, better teams.
And it's just another one of those games where it was,
the like everybody by now has probably seen that clip of Maurice on the bench mid game whatever two
years ago he's like get on there fucking d and bang them over and over so that in game seven
they have nothing left and there was a bit of that it's that cumulative thing is just hit you hit
you hit you chuck marchant all all these guys come at you and at you we'll talk about marchand
in a moment but um just on that note real quick yeah 16 teams are the playoffs top six teams and
hits per game, all your four semifinals.
Try again. One more time. All these teams left in the
semis. We're in the top six and hits per games under the 16 teams in the playoffs.
Bangers. And that's because that's it, right? It's cumulative. Like you say,
what Maurice is yelling is, just keep running guys. We've got two weeks of this.
If they're taking more hits than we are, they're going to break down sooner.
Brett, you're good at math.
This was the 13th consecutive loss in the
conference final for the Carolina Hurricanes.
Can you help describe what?
One more time.
That's a lot.
The Carolina Hurricanes with this loss,
because it was a loss,
it's the 13th consecutive in a row
in the conference finals.
There you see it.
That's,
so you're,
you are good enough to get to the final four,
but you got swept by the penguins,
the Bruins, the Panthers,
and now you're all won against,
the Panthers again.
Well, I was told that by Rob Brennamar, it was not a sweep in 2020.
Oh, that's right.
But it was a sweep.
Fellas.
Fellas,
indeed.
They need one just to get.
How come this was not brought up?
It's funny, because we talked about this morning.
Everyone's been talking about Toronto's and must win games and all these,
what a bunch of losers?
And they're like, well, this is maybe even more impressed.
This is really impressive.
Holy shit.
So you're good enough to get to the final four.
Like none of those other teams had a shit game along the way and those you couldn't get about.
One?
Not one.
You didn't goleum once?
Their last win in the conference finals,
2006 when they beat the Oilers.
That F was on the 09 squad.
Stalls.
I'm not sure.
Ron Francis,
Glenn Westless.
Brindamore.
He might have still been.
I'm not joking.
But it's truly,
I mean, we're having some,
we're taking the piss out of them,
but that's not taking a piss.
That's quite something.
That's science team.
And I believe that is an NHJ.
a record. That's a tough one to beat.
I'm going to put you back in the spot again.
I'm going to show you a, uh, so well with the last one.
Yeah, it was really good.
Just need to go full screen next time for that reaction.
No, this one, this one, because I wonder if you've ever gotten frustrated,
or maybe some pest on the other team, some chippy little forward comes,
you're tired of this guy and he comes and he takes a real run at you when you're back
retrieving a puck and he's going to run you.
You're like, you little bastard.
And you're going to get him.
Have you ever shot a puck directly at a guy?
No.
Trying to hit him.
Well, let's go to Rets.
I have not.
That's good.
I have not.
So here's Marshan coming in on Gostisbear who gets out of the way.
And Gossesbred, he didn't like that at all.
One of many.
Thwing.
So he fired it right out.
Now, was it Alfredson that did that?
Yes.
Somebody do it to Alfredson.
It was Albertson.
He mentioned that.
Now watch so skillful here by Gossus Bear.
Somehow his gloves don't ever come on.
I was so ashamed at this.
I was disgusted in the game and the kids and the player.
Like that's a skill.
That was like Alex Salmon playing the bongos.
You would think, yeah, when you're flailing your arms.
Holy shit, I'm in one.
My gloves had better get off.
Right?
Because it's like this.
You're, you're taking some swings.
And you shot the puck at the guy.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's inciting some.
And somehow Marchand got the 10-minute misconduct and got tossed.
Classic.
Will they look at this?
Because I don't actually like, I don't mind this part.
Well, remember it was earlier this year and I meant to.
I actually don't care about the shooting of the puck because suck it up.
This is embarrassing.
You should be ashamed of yours.
I can see why you don't take your helmet off because you're a bald-headed prick.
Oh, geez.
There's nothing wrong with male pattern baldness, right?
I'll have you.
I know because I read this morning.
they've found a cure.
That's okay, get it back on.
In official or unofficial, but in,
anyway, take your gloves off and fight the guy.
Quit being a wuss.
So he was angry, but not that angry that he wanted to find.
I'm angry and I'm going to get you,
but not if you stand up to me.
Not like that.
There'll be none of,
get your own puck and shoot it back.
Did you hear him post game?
He's like, yeah, I meant to shoot at him.
I was frustrated.
Yeah, I was upset.
I just owned it.
Yeah.
Because it was earlier this year, wasn't it, when it was that Mikaula again against, wasn't it?
St.
Louis.
Can you say it right?
He shot the puck.
Nicola.
I'm trying to remember.
So funny.
Okay.
It's so like me,
Mikola.
Very funny.
Yeah.
The cough drop thing.
Yeah.
Let's get her breath and then more.
Because those are called Rikala.
Yeah.
And then they got his name.
Yeah.
They yell it out over the Danish Alps.
I guess so.
Yeah.
What was the thing that they?
I don't know.
It's a skeechel.
that horn.
Yeah, what's that big horn?
The French,
Jack,
you know all about having a big horn.
What's that called?
You're talking about your big horn in Switzerland?
What does it sound like?
Hey,
Hola.
Anyway, he shot a puck at somebody earlier this season.
This is how good the game was.
Well, I think because Pronger's been doing some panel work.
Was he not involved with the Alpsons one in 03?
Yes, I thought it was Pronger or Niedermeier.
It was a defense.
Feels like that's more pronger stuff, isn't it?
Yeah.
Like Scottie wouldn't.
Scottie too hot.
Remember that guy?
Do you want some of the names on that 09 cane's team?
Yes, yes, I guess.
You're going to like it.
Ray Whitney, right?
Oh, the wizard.
Eric Stahl, as you called.
Stalzy.
Tuomo Routu.
It was a very good cane.
He was a nice little pesty power for it.
Yeah.
Rod the bod was there.
He was 38.
Rod the ball.
Sergey Samsonov.
First overall.
No.
Oh.
Is it Joe Thorntonier.
The drafts.
A first rounder.
But yes.
Matt Cullen, Joe Corvo, Anton Babchuk, forever flame.
Yoni Pitkinan.
Chadler Rose.
Dennis Seidenberg.
Sides.
Eric Cole, Scott Walker.
Patrick.
Eric Cole was still giving her.
30.
At that point.
UC Yokinen was there.
Nicholas Wallen.
Justin William, Mr. Game 7.
He was only 27.
Brandon Sutter.
And who else was there?
Let's tell you about the goalies.
where you have your goalies.
I'm not sure he goalies yet.
Anyway.
Anyway.
Cam Ward Michael Leighton.
Your boy,
Cambo.
That's awesome.
Now,
when I,
you said future flame
when I said,
Miko,
Mikola.
Oh, yeah.
Make it two and a half.
He's big.
He's left shot.
He's a fin.
Bring him in.
What are you talking about?
I just really like him.
Oh.
He's big and left and that's what they need.
I'll tell you,
I remember watching him in St.
Loss when he was a member of the St.
Loss.
And you're like,
that's a big prick right there.
Straight shit.
was he this guy's terrible what is this guy doing in the league and then last night he's flying
around like it's very good that's why i focus my that's why you keep working that's why your
podcast why i uh focus on forward forward to not d right okay got it yeah leave that up to other people
you're right there we kind of was like the the baby moose you were waiting yeah i was uh
like a newborn gazelle he's six six he big boy yeah he is yeah he is for sure
How are we getting him?
He's a free agent.
A couple years.
Oh, a couple years.
In a couple years.
I got it ready.
Why don't you trade for him?
What a playbook you have.
Just wait.

Alice.
Yep, I have three of them.
Oh, wow.
That is just, you know.
You need it for each level, right?
Don't you?
Isn't that?
You go to the basement?
Yeah.
Really?
It gets hot up there, I guess.
You could just disrobe and then you don't have.
have to have the a check but the thing is you need you need air conditioning moving around that's
the thing you can get one big one or three small ones type of thing or two small ones
i discovered something better though did you guys look at this what's that no no new cove flavor
the cove soda with the uh ice pop yeah wow my son it's so fired out but i i i keep drinking them
so how do they keep all the three flavors separate in there it's the up with that it's like it's
I'm right now, I'm at the blue part.
Which is your favorite?
Yeah, the, I like the reservoir.
My tongue is still white, so I don't know.
Or whatever.
You're still in the middle section, yeah.
Who shot the puck at?
Or who did Alfredson shoot the puck at?
Scott Needamire.
Scott Needhamire, the best thing he did was pretend it didn't happen.
Like, Alfie was, I didn't like it.
I thought it was a bad move.
But when asked about it after,
Afterwards, Niedemeyer was like, no, I think he was just dumbed with the puck in.
He knew exactly what he was doing.
But Niedemeyer wouldn't give him the satisfaction of like, yeah, like that guy pissed me off.
He literally was like, oh, I don't know.
I think it hit my glove or something.
And all Nita Meyer did was just win the cop, like that was, you know.
I's laugh.
Like I joke and I'm not lying.
I'm half serious or maybe even more than half serious.
I think hockey was too easy for Scott Niedemeyer.
It didn't challenge him.
Like if you, like obviously we played with the other half, Rob.
What a treat.
I love Rod.
He's not too easy for him, noodles.
Not too easy for him.
His name came up the other day and we did a deep dive into his stats.
Yeah.
Played a long time.
He's a good player too.
But like he's a great guy.
I have a day that if you were taken in the first round, you played forever.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you know what, though?
My funniest story about needs.
And I still tell Craig Buttonness to this day.
So trade deadline day, we had a game that night.
And morning skate.
And I shower.
I come out of the shower there.
I'm by, you know, less than all those guys there by that office.
And Rob Neidemeyer comes in and we're, he had just showered so we're talking.
And he goes, Craig Button is upstairs right now.
There are 20 teams trying to trade for me.
He goes, because I'm a winner.
This is what he was saying.
He was joking.
Like he's a,
if you knew needs,
he's like the funniest guy.
Dry, dry, dry humor.
He goes,
Craig Button is upstairs
fielding so many calls for me right now.
And I go,
Craig Button is upstairs
begging for teams
to take you off of our hands.
Begging.
Like,
and I go,
he can't wait to get rid of you.
He's begging for teams to get
to just take you off of our hands.
through the curtain walks Craig and goes,
Rob, can I talk to you?
He had traded him.
Yes.
Yes.
That's amazing.
And of course, needs, goes and wins.
It's going to go to Anaheim and win, play one of the best teams.
And you know what?
I've told Craig that story because Craig doesn't remember, like,
Craig didn't hear me.
Like, thank God he didn't hear me going.
Our GM is trying to give you away right now and all of that.
But Craig said the funny part is he actually wanted to extend Rob,
and there was some form, I don't know if it was an ownership thing
or if it was his agent thing or whatever,
but they just never couldn't get it done so they had to trade him.
And he went and won a Stanley Cup in Anaheim with his brother too.
That was why he wanted to extend him.
See if you can get the brother to come.
Was that a game of chess?
Maybe you hang on to Rob Neidermeyer.
There's this strong desire to play together.
Maybe that.
And I don't disagree with you, sir.
to interrupt. I think it was too easy for Scott.
Like Scott, if you've ever, you know, because you guys know Jason Strudwick, who's a dear
friend of mine and Struddy's cousins with them, right? Like they're their first cousins.
And so I've gone to Scott Niedemeyer's house in Anaheim, like you would have no idea he played
hockey. There's not trophies everywhere. There's, like he's just a humble, amazing person who,
you know, is, is nature guy.
and just a very good family guy in that,
but you would have no idea that this guy arguably could be one of the greatest
play.
Like I think he was one of the best defensemen who ever played the game.
And he walked away.
I think he walked away at about 35, 36.
He could have signed a five-year deal in Anaheim and still played.
The guy could stay.
He could still be playing the way he moved.
Ericelio's played.
Yes.
Yeah, like 50 points was the captain of the ducks and he just walked.
Yeah, just like I'm good.
Like just said, I'm good.
But if you look at his career,
that was the end.
If you look at his career, he won
everywhere he went.
He won everything in hockey.
Everything in hockey was possible to win.
He won.
He's Triple Gold Club, too, which is a small group.
That's the World Championships, Olympics, and Stanley Cup.
He won everything in hockey there is so win.
He won the Kazakhstan Cup.
Like, this guy's done it all.
Yeah.
And like effortless, like just skated around like, no, you know, like it was like the game, I swear to God, as we all battled and like just scratched and clawed.
Yeah, like hockey was, I swear to God was too easy for Scott Niedemeyer.
And he was like, okay, I put in my 18, 20 years, whatever he did.
I'll see you later.
Like he's, he's an unbelievable human too.
I love, I mean, I love his brother Rob.
I tease his brother Rob, but they're a great family.
They're just great people.
The two of them, Duster, so we're playing in the NHL,
in Jersey's in town to play us in a day or two, maybe the next night.
And Tyson is fighting someone.
It's a heavyweight fight.
And I'd said to Rob at, let's go watch the fight tonight.
Yeah, let's do that.
Where can we do that?
I don't, I'm a kid.
He's like, I'll get my brother.
we'll come over to your house.
I'm building with some old bat.
And they come to my house to rent the fight.
What the stuff?
We don't.
Yeah, me and the Hall of Fame are sitting on a love seat watching a fight at my Billet's house.
A quilt on it with a nip.
Because you're billetting.
Oh, my God.
Brian Burke's line was always about scouting bloodlines.
He's like usually the younger brothers,
the, he's grown up, the older brothers really kind of led the way.
And he'll be the more talented of the two.
He says, I had Rob and Scott.
I was like, Rob, I don't know what happened to you.
You're the exception to this role.
Who is older, Val or Pavel?
I feel like Pavel was older there, too.
That would be another one.
He was older.
Eric Lindrosse was older.
You never know what Brett was going to be.
he got
Brad will be damn good
until his concussions got him.
I don't think he was tough.
He was good,
but he was physical.
They both were monsters.
Like they both were,
it just,
Brad had the concussion issues,
but Brett,
Brett didn't have what Eric had.
Like Eric was.
The high end skill.
Oh.
And the thing with Niedemeyer,
is there,
there's some clutching
and grabbing era in there as well.
He was small in that era.
That he still was able to kind of,
like he was only six feet.
A lot like Nid,
like you couldn't hit him.
You didn't.
Like he just,
Now, isn't it famous?
Didn't need, was it Ty Domi that suckered?
Yeah, we're looking for it.
I got Jack on it.
Yeah, it's a bad one.
It's a bad one, right?
Yeah, and tied to this day, he feels shitty about it because it was a,
was a,
friggin nasty one for sure.
Wasn't it like a sucker or an elbow?
Oh, yeah, like Ty had a few of those in his career.
Were they all Samuelson one?
Bucca boom, didn't he end?
Oh, no, no.
That was Maddie Johnson.
Oh, and I.
We were talking about it on air the other day,
some of the worst like sucker punt.
I said that Matt Johnson on Jeff Bugaboon
might be one of the worst because of how big Matt Johnson was.
Matt Johnson was like,
we called him the moots.
And Boogaboon was six foot six.
I think that ended his career.
He never played a game out.
That was it.
Yeah, that was, you know,
like you look at some of those suspensions now.
Like we were joking on air about,
remember Dale Hunter on Pierre,
Terzhan. Yes. I was a black ace. I was actually at the game. And Hunter said that this is the best
part. He said he didn't hear the whistle or think the puck was in the net. Terjohn had his
arms in the air and the crowd was going. Yeah. Count like five potato, one potato, five, and then
he runs them into the boards. Like it was, that's actually one of the most insane like reaction ones I've
ever seen. So here's a question I have. We laugh
about that stuff. You get disgusted by some of it. Yes.
But you respected it and there was
something to it. And then you watch gas despair
keep his gloves on to defend himself against Marchand last night.
And I can't decide
what makes more sense. Well, especially when you shot
the puck at him. Yes. I'm going to
You're the one who actually didn't like the hit that Marchand gave you.
So then the retaliatory is like, I'm going to take a shot at him.
Fine.
You want to be dirty.
He wants to take a piece of you.
You're going to take a piece of him.
And then it's glove on, like, whatever that was.
And Marchand's like, you know, we all know how tiny he is, but he's got champ.
I'll tell you what.
Like, I don't.
No, this is just a fact.
Florida doesn't get through Toronto if it wasn't for 63.
Like Marchand was that whole series,
that line, that third line was the difference.
Okay.
Like Brodowski was great and yes,
there were other individual and performances.
Seth Jones was,
that's the Seth Jones we've all been waiting to watch
and play our whole lives, right?
Like, yeah, in Columbus and then to Chicago and then.
But like it was Brad Marchand.
I talked to somebody in Florida.
Florida the day before the game. So it was two days ago. And they were like 63 was the difference.
And it took him a bit to settle in, too. Keep in mind he got traded. He was hurt.
He was hurt when they acquired him. And then he didn't want to step on toes as far as how do I
integrate into a new organization when I'm a leader. I'm a captain. So he was like apparently
very methodical about it. And now like all I hear,
is that the guys can't get enough, like love him to death because he's a big personality
and he's playing with two younger Finnish guys that just idolize him. And they,
and those are good players too that he played. He and Sam Bennett. Like maybe they stay. And
like Ben has been there a while. It's only been a few months for, for Marchand. But I don't know
if there's two guys heading into the summer that have increased their stock or their value more.
because at this time of year, this is when you hang banners,
and they've completely got their fingerprints all over the first two series they've won.
100%.
And I, you know, it's easy.
I live in Toronto, so people are like, okay, it's easy.
Let's just sign Eckblad, Bennett, and Marchand.
And that'll saw, and I go, they're watching fans throwing jerseys.
I go, you think they want to come here?
Like, I don't know.
I mean, maybe they will.
And I think it's overblown.
I don't know how you guys feel.
the only thing I could think of having played in both New York markets like I played for both
Toronto is just it's a big city like New York so the fans let you hear it I mean that's and it's
a passionate fan base I get it but I watch the Yankees get booed off the you know the field I watch
I see it all the time it's like New York now that's just what it is but we think of it now
because it's a cross on the Canadian border on the Canadian side I just I look at
is American.
I like Toronto's like New York.
That's the difference is that Toronto is the biggest team,
the least is the biggest team in the market by a mile.
The Rangers have to be really good to get even close to the Yankees and the football and
Nick.
That's the biggest team in their own building.
That's the difference.
That's why I said Yankees fans boo them off.
Nobody cares about the rate.
I'm saying it's more.
Okay.
Yeah.
My comparison was more to big city to big city.
It wasn't team to team because you're right.
The Leafs are.
the mecca. We all know it. I mean, it's, it's the biggest fan base. It's the biggest everything.
It's the loudest noises, all of that. But I, you know, I would have liked to see, I don't know how
you guys felt. Like even in yesterday's media, I would like to see Austin Matthews goes, I like it here.
I have no problem with the fans. I'm no problem with anything. Like, like just stand up for your
organization and go, like, we didn't get it done. And we're going to work at this and we're going
to get it done. Can't wait to do it. Like, it's just they're so media guarded.
They don't, I don't think they say anything that they really made me want to say.
So, because I've thought about this a lot because your good friend, Peter Ham, works for the Flames.
He's the guy that's in charge of that side of things for the Flames.
And I'm sure the Leafs and everyone else has it, if not more guys or this is how we handle the media.
This is what we want to accomplish.
I sometimes wonder if they've taken the personalities out.
they've they've taught the guys not to trust the media they don't say anything and and not only on top of that
i don't know what words use but it's hard to for those players because they are taught to be so guarded
to actually feel like they're part of that community and care about the teams and i don't know
if that even makes any sense it's such a protection well it's it's for the players
It becomes sanitized.
Like that's where they become, become sanitized.
It's like they, you come here and it's like, okay, everything is so much loud or so much more under the microscope.
So what they do is go the other way.
It's like you've got to keep it tight.
We've got to keep it this.
And I understand it from letting people behind the curtain.
There's a difference between what goes on in the room, stays in the room, and it's none of your business.
But you're still allowed.
Like I look at it.
I feel like Matthew Kachuk will act like Matthew Kachuk
no matter where he is.
You know, I just.
Marshan.
Where it was Calgary,
Brad Marchand, same thing.
But there's certain guys that just aren't wired that way.
They may be not as comfortable in front of the camera.
They're allowed to be.
Look at 97 up the road.
He's, you know, he's not.
Nerd alert.
He never says anything.
We don't know anything what's since.
No, and that's fine.
but I still think they overprotect them and they don't feel,
they're not allowed to show their true emotions.
And Dougie Gilmore, and again, those are different personalities,
but Dougie Gilmore and even Jamie McCowan who hangs around Calgary,
Wendell Clark, those reliefs.
They wanted to be at Toronto,
and they told you how they wanted to be at Toronto Maple Leaf,
and they loved me.
I want to be part of this community.
I want to be.
Yeah, all of those guys, right?
But it's right now, and the only thing I struggle,
maybe you guys can weigh in too, but social media has changed a lot of this too, right?
The way, you know, we always talk about how we acted and how we conducted our lives in 040,
2001, all of that compared to what life would be like now.
And, you know, it's funny.
Last time I was on, I was going for lunch with Gio, right?
So I said, I got to cut out.
I'm going to go for lunch with Gio.
We had a good chat about that because I said, what did you, you know, comparison,
Calgary to Toronto. And he goes, Jamie, like, he goes in, in Calgary, you still felt like it was
small enough community that you could like function in, like where, you know, like you can go for
dinner, you can go in Toronto, there are places to hide. It's a big city. It's like New York. You
can find a corner to go do, but it is everyone here is in tune with the leaps. Everyone's in
tune with their team. So he said, like he enjoyed it. He said for the most part, like I even
Dion used to tell me. He goes, Jamie, like, it seems worse in the media. It seems worse online.
He goes, I get treated awesome by fans. And the fans, for the most part, come up and say,
hey, I've been a Leaf fan since 1975. Like, good luck. And like you said, once in a while,
we get the jackass that's got a comment here or there. But I would argue, and this is my question
to you guys, nowadays, you see people that walk up to people with the
phone.
And they're going, hey, yeah, yeah, you, you know, like, like, they're looking for the
reaction.
They're looking for, because, hey, I'm going to, I'm going to make a girl.
Kelsey, what he smacked that guy.
Yeah.
But it's like, hey, I'm going to chirp you and get it on video.
And so I feel like social media and clicks and YouTube streaming, or what is it,
YouTube streaming and TikTok and all this stuff, that might contribute a thing.
layer to how guys react in real life now.
Okay.
So, and again, that's, I don't disagree with any of that.
It's, it is bang on it.
It guys tell me that it's that way.
That is the way it is, and you see it, and it's brutal.
The question, and I don't care about the Leafs, and I did not follow the breakdown
there from the media availability.
Do you get the sense that those guys have the heart and soul that the guys, old guys that
we just discussed had and that they want to actually perform.
for the city, for the franchise, for the team,
or do you get the sense that there's a lot of, well,
it's good for me and it's fine, but I'm doing my job, you pay me.
The guys you mentioned didn't win either.
That's an important distinction.
Do you question ever that era of player?
You don't always win.
You're right, they didn't win.
But they were the prototypical, you know, Toronto Maple Leaf.
I will say that.
Here's what I'm going to say.
I think we're just going to talk about the core four, okay, the four guys that paid the double digits there.
I think they all have the desire to win.
I think they all want to win.
I think they all say the right things.
I think they work hard.
I don't think the four of them collectively, and we've got nine years of data now, Tavares is seven of the nine.
I don't think the four of them can do it together.
And what I mean by that is all four of them play and are wired the same way.
So I look at it.
And I actually just did this comparison.
I don't even know if I talked about it on air.
But if you look at Sasha Barkoff and Sam Reinhart, they're not, I'm going to say this respectfully,
bastards to play against, right?
They're just really good.
Like I think there's superstars in their own right, like they can score, they can check.
They do.
But they're quiet, right?
They don't, they're not punching guys in the face.
They're not, but what they are surrounded with is Bennett, Kachuk.
Now it's Marchand.
And they've got a really good supporting cast in Lundell and Lusterrain and Verhege and Rodriguez.
So I look at it that those two guys, they don't have to be like that.
They can just play great.
And some of the other stuff can be handled and playoff hockey.
And I'm not saying they don't compete and they don't.
don't hit and they don't, you know, Sam Reinhart got destroyed behind the net by Samoam Ben-Bin-Wa.
Massive hit.
I don't, I've never seen any one of those core four ever get hit like that because I don't
know if they go to areas where you can actually get hit like that.
Sam Reinhart took that hit to make a play.
That was a destroying hit.
He got up and skated away.
I can't count my hand in the nine years I've watched that core for them being hit that hard,
ever being hit like that.
And so what I mean is, I think individually they have the desire.
I just think four is too many.
I think they can survive.
They can have and they can use that money to surround them with different types of personalities
and players.
That would be my sense on that group in Toronto.
Remember Florida too, because they won a president's trophy with Huberto and
Uyghur and Ekblad and Arkov.
And they didn't have Kachuk.
And they didn't have.
and, you know, some of these other dirtbags.
Bill Zito said, I can't win with this group in the playoffs.
I know I can win in the regular season.
We got a president's trophy.
But Tampa keeps running our show in the playoffs.
I got to build this differently for the second season.
And then they offer up a King's Ransom for Kachuk.
When you think about it, it's a 115 point forward.
It's a top pair of defenseman and a first rounder.
Like, Flampton did not get hosed in that deal.
I made some mistakes with some contracts after,
but that's a haul for a player.
And I wonder, Bradshaw living is now two years in.
Is he thinking what Bill Zito was thinking?
And like, what's your guess on how this play?
is out. I 100%. Now, my only question, and I think there's things to get to it before that,
is it might be addition by subtraction because Mitch Marner might just say, it doesn't matter
what you offer me, I'm walking. So you get that money. Yeah. So then you've got that 11 million to spend.
John Tavares, you are deciding if you're bringing him back at half or whatever, like whatever
the salary looks like and turn. You know, guys scored 38 goals last year, but I,
I think, you know, again, Father Time is coming for him.
It's, you know, he looked a little older in the playoffs,
and especially those last three games, he wasn't productive.
So you're 100% right.
Billy Zito said, this team is really good.
We won the presence, but it's not good enough this team as it's constructed to win.
So he took a chance.
This is out of the box thinking.
I'm going to go and get, again, I'm saying it's resubstant.
respectfully, a bastard. I'm going to go get a great player, but who's just different. He's
wired different than Barkoff and Reinhardt. He's not those guys. He's the exact opposite of them.
He still has skill, but it's a different type. He's a mouthpiece and he's, he drags people into the
fight. Like you could argue that trade changed the fortunes of that whole organization.
There's some good fortune too there that that type of player is available because usually they're not.
But Chuck is at an impasse. They traded for Bennett as well. Like it's clearly,
a type of player who's coveting, but to your point, how rarely a guy like Kachuk,
that's got the physicality, but also the skill, like, almost now. Yeah, we've got a player
who will wave as no mover, like, we can get them here and the trade makes sense, and we can
afford them, and they want the package back in trade. Like, it was, obviously, it's a masterclass
from Bill Zito. And then Marcia gets the bruns over the barrel and says, I'm a, I'm a
Hall of Fame brun, like, trade between this team. Yeah.
And you pretty much to get them. Yeah. Now, in, in, in, in Marci's defense on that,
Because they played last night, Boston got a first rounder out of it, right?
It was a conditional second that turned to a first if he made conference final.
So now Boston gets a first rounder out of it.
They can use it.
And if Marchand goes and wins, he might sign back there this summer.
A lot of teams will want him.
Yeah.
Ronald, L.A., Florida.
Like, name the list.
Everyone needs a guy like that.
There's a massive list.
You know, I...
William Bennett.
So you're in Leafland, and since we're playing this game,
oh, Eckblad and all the, oh, we're going to bring,
we're going to make it the Panthers North.
We're going to sign all these.
Why would they leave?
Why is anyone in Florida leaving and going?
That's what I'm saying.
Like, just because a fan base or, you know, we talk about it in the media,
like, would Aaron Eckblad look great for the Calgary Flames?
100%.
Like, you know, would Brad Marchand on a short deal?
you bring him in and try and help out
some of those young guys get to the next level,
show the leadership, all of that.
All three of those players would be coveted.
It doesn't mean they're coming to any organization.
Florida could go,
you guys want to stay?
We'll make this work.
You know, and...
You played there. Would you leave?
Florida's Cup team?
They have built a program now.
Ret, like since you played there,
and then since I played there,
practice rink is in Fort Lauderdale.
These guys live in that area and take golf carts to practice.
Yeah, they all live next to each other.
The only way you leave is if you get so much more money.
And now the team that gets the player, it's not a value deal and you're overpaying.
But like Sam Linart went through it a year ago, Bennett will go through it this summer.
Iqbal it'll go through it this summer.
Yes.
If the Florida Panthers want you, they'll likely keep you.
And they'll pay you less than market.
That's just how that's the program they built.
And they kind of mulled it off Tampa.
Yeah.
But that's, it's, you model after Tampa.
I mean, Florida, the state of Florida when it comes to hockey has been the gold standard
for hockey the last five years as far as championships, pedigree, place to live, tax situation.
Nobody, you can't get around it other than, you know, some of the other states in the U.S.
Alberta is another tax situation that's very, but people don't point out.
It's pretty good to be better.
Well, listen, I know.
It becomes pretty much.
We'll fix that.
Not get political now.
But Rhett's mentioned, and I know you guys, we can move on.
But, you know, Florida didn't just become warm with, you know, golf carts.
Winning helps.
There was a lot of times if you got traded or drafted by Florida, you're like, a.
Well, and hey, Arizona's got all the things we talked about Florida has, minus the winning.
I mean, good weather.
You want to drive your golf cart.
But, look, the ownership piece was the one that was missing.
That's the point.
Yeah.
And now it's the owner needs to get the building.
And when you got those two things.
things that Arizona would have been fine.
I agree. They've just built the rink in the wrong spot.
And Florida built the rink in the wrong spot.
But what they did is they work to alleviate that and go,
we're just going to go play there.
It's like MSG when you play for the Rangers.
You never practice here.
You're just going to go play there.
And every, you know, we're practicing over here.
Our workout thing is here.
You guys are going to live here.
Your life is here.
You're just driving 30 minutes to the to play there.
And then heading back.
Like they've seen.
Not Miami.
That's the change they made, right?
Yeah.
Well, yeah.
They're in sunrise now.
but it's just a better situation.
You're right.
Winning helps because you ask the guys who signed in Edmonton.
You know, they weren't going for the weather.
They're going because the Golden Goose is there.
That's Jeff Skinner and guys like that that, that, you know, may have had offers.
I know Skinner's an afterthought right now.
Jeff is not Stewart, but you look at they got some value contracts last summer,
Adam Henrique and guys like that because they wanted an opportunity.
And really, you build a winning program.
People want a piece of it.
But it doesn't hurt the intangibles that come up that you just pointed out, like Florida and, you know, the weather, the travel, all of that type of stuff.
But, man, those organizations, like Florida looks, they found something again.
Like, it took them a couple games.
They, they dusted Tampa in five.
It was a hard fought series.
And it took them about two and a half games against the Leafs to kind of wake up and get going.
and then I remember saying on my show,
it looks like they've found their game again.
It looks like they found like what it takes
and put it all together.
And man,
they're like a machine right now.
Dangerous.
There's some 100-point teams
from the regular season that are crumpled up
and lying on the side of the road.
Colorado, Tampa,
and L.A. from round one,
Washington, Winnipeg, Toronto, Vegas most recently.
I guess of that group,
is there one that you feel for,
that you feel was fortunate to have success but isn't built right and is just not not a playoff
threat or just any kind of thoughts on those teams because the 82 games was great yeah i mean
colorado i feel like it's weird because they've won so i don't feel like i'm not feel bad
for the fan base or anything i just look at it and and that's a team that swung for the fences
because they they switched out like they were doing it like on the fly
Hey, two goalies.
Hey, we're going to, you know, trade.
Didn't like middle stats too small of a Sanderman, got to bring in.
Here's coil.
Here's Brock Nelson.
Like, I really liked in the end how aggressive they were.
But it was, I still, I don't understand to this day.
The Rantanin thing is just, I don't know where the disconnect was.
I don't know.
And it might be a 30 for 30 at some point.
Because I, Rantan inside says that there was, you know, like what he should.
sharing and what we're getting out of Colorado, they don't match up together.
There's two touch points.
It's the GM and the agent.
Somewhere in there, their ball was dropped.
The communication was not clear enough between the two sides because the way they viewed it was so completely differently.
Right.
And, you know, the agent's not going to admit to trying to overplay it and the GM's not going to admit that maybe you should have gone back one more time to say final offer type of thing.
But that one, that one stings.
I feel bad for L.A.
because I think L.A. was a really good team.
And they just,
they,
like,
Evanton just found it.
Like,
they found it,
right?
Like,
L.A. was a really,
like,
I thought L.A.
was going to give Evanton everything.
And probably,
I was leaning L.A.
to beat them.
I just,
where Evanton,
and you're right.
They did have them at certain parts of that series
that could have been difference makers.
And it just did.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Three.
Or four, you had the opportunity to win and should have probably won.
And the hockey gods have played a huge role in this year's playoffs.
So it's fine.
It is what it is.
And we're not Oilers fans.
So we're not going to do their horn in too much and say, oh, they did a good job battling through.
I really think the Kings gave away that series.
Well, certainly two things come to mind.
The goalie challenge, which was a TSN turning point, and then by field,
of not getting that puck out.
Either one of those.
And the GM's not there, fellas.
Like, they're acknowledging what we're acknowledging.
That's, it wasn't good enough.
That was your chance.
And now it's time for a regime switch.
Do you think Blakey was part of that, though?
Do you think Blakey was like,
ah, I've had enough of this shit?
It was framed that way.
I could believe that.
But I bet she's not doing that.
You know what I mean?
At some point, so this is the difference,
and this is why it's funny,
I can bring anything back to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
You've got organizations
like the L.A. Kings.
We lost four years in a row to the same team,
and we can't get over that hump.
Change has to happen.
Nine years in Toronto.
And they go, we're bringing the same group back.
You're going to change this, and we're going to, you know,
and it's changed.
But it's like we're pot committed to these four guys,
and we'll call it five with Morgan Riley there.
But like, I think Brad Tree Living brought in some great pieces.
Like I thought he did a great job.
In the offseason, you know, you hit on Stolars.
The 3D he brought in really helped shore up their D.
Ekman Larson, we all love Chris Tanniv.
You know, I look at it, Brandon Carlo at the trade deadline.
You know, you're trying to make it bigger.
You're trying to, I think a lot of the moves he made hit.
But in the end, we're all going, you've lost seven game sevens in a row.
The last five, you've scored one goal.
And you're paying four guys, 11 plus million.
to score your goals.
Like,
that's where the definition of insanity can't continue on.
I will say,
like there's been three GMs
and at least three or four coaches,
but you're right.
Like,
it's those four guys,
and that's why it's over now.
But if the GMs and the coaches
can't make the changes to the big dogs
and do the things that need to be done,
then what difference?
One guy's been there 11 years.
Just one.
The president.
Not any longer, I'm guessing.
What's your vibe on the...
His contracts up in June.
And the only thing I would say is,
I know everybody is emotional about it right now,
but if you take a look at where the organization was
when Brandon Shanahan took over,
I think he put it back on the map to respectability
and certain things, off ice.
Like he mended a lot of relationships
that were fractured from the Harold Ballard era.
Dave Keon, he made a Legends row.
He made, like, I think he made a lot of alumni feel very important,
which they should because they,
They have skin in the game here.
He brought in Lou Lamarillo and started, you know, a hard program.
He pivoted to a progressive way in Caldubis.
And I think that went on a little bit too long.
If that wasn't working, I would argue he probably could have moved away from the formula sooner.
But it's been a lot of good things.
Like if they end up moving away from him, which I suspect they will,
his legacy won't be just failed chana plan i think there's a lot of good things that came with it but in
the end they were married to four guys and they gave them all the big big contracts and
and and uh those are the guys that that didn't get it done when it most mattered and you know
it's it's it's pretty interesting to see like they uh my host brian hayes brought up something
yesterday, you could break their tenure the nine years into three-year segments.
The last three years, they went to second round.
The year before, it was Matthews going for 70, the chase that everybody was excited about.
And the year before, they went to the second round beating Tampa and lost to Florida.
There was a lot of progression there.
It was the six years before where it's like you lost to Montreal after after
after one, Columbus.
And like there was some egregious failure.
in there.
Three one to Montreal
might have been the worst, yeah.
3-1 to Montreal
in the bubble
or whatever that was
and couldn't get it done.
And that,
those are damning things
for these guys.
So that's,
it's been a tough grind
for relief fans, for sure.
Yeah, we feel it.
Sorry about that.
Just before we let you go,
some things that we'll start with,
we were talking about Scott Niedermeyer.
Yep.
And it's cheap shot, I suppose, would be the best way.
Ty Domi did say post career, this is the thing he feels the worst about from his career.
Niedermeyer just, again, nicest guy, lady bang, wouldn't hurt anybody.
Pow.
Oh.
I know why I'm laughing.
That is.
Did they stretcher him off?
Yeah.
How many games is that now?
Is that 40?
Like, that's so dirty.
is he skating right at me yes he is oh that's his elbow yeah he got the rest of the playoffs in
eight games to start the following season for that elbow
that's embarrassing for the sport he uh god oh that's vicious isn't it it's so
like there's the puck's nowhere near like it's like there's nothing there's nowhere near
like it's like he's in cruise control going
to the bench probably for a change.
And you let up on the play because the puck's nowhere near.
And then this guy comes with an elbow to the mosh.
And it's not like Niedermeier probably was sticking and hacking him earlier in the
shift.
No, he's not doing any of that.
Domi, and again, we didn't spend a lot of time on it.
But the Alf Samuelson, I think everyone remembers that one.
He, again, in the cheap shot category.
This, yeah, like this one's egregious because I think he drops his
glove doesn't he oh this isn't the one this is uh no yeah that the also one was in
pittsburgh yeah and yeah no you know this might be in the front of the net watch here watch he drops
his left glove oh good night i'll do it in pittsburgh too like it was there was another
pittsburgh one yes oh i had a few my goodness tie well on the arms up the brain doctors
to say that's the sign of like legit trauma to the brain when the arms go
like that. I think it's called fencing or something
where there. Sorry, Jack, I take it back.
That's dirty.
Yeah, it's an awful one.
Yeah.
Maybe when he was playing
26 and a half minutes at age 36
and retired, he knew more than we did.
Is that Richter?
What are we doing here?
Ray's, Ray Ferraro's going to come in there.
I don't know if I want a piece of that.
What's Ray going to do?
Like, what's anyone going to do?
Well, yeah, there is Ray.
That is so dirty.
The thing is, like, Domi was so tough, too.
So tough.
And the thing, yeah, could beat you and could take a beating.
Yeah, like, that's crazy.
And this is a good, I was going to say,
you got to watch the way you describe these things.
This is a great one.
It's not great.
It's 1993.
Jamie McClennan is part of an Islander team.
Oh, my God, yeah.
It's a goal.
I was, look at, he's in the net cheering.
And look at this, like, five.
potato apropos.
Ters separated his shoulder.
Look at the puck's in the net.
Now watch Hunter like skate him down,
gliding, gliding, gliding,
turn, turd has no idea.
And then runs him through the boards.
This is like Bobby Clark broken arm shit.
This is, wow.
It was insane.
He got 23 games.
21 games, I think is what it was.
Insanity.
And his story was,
I didn't know the puck was in.
Right.
He didn't know the pop was in.
All the fans he's looking at are cheering.
That was a,
ah,
F it.
Here's the other thing.
I was at a golf tournament with Turgh last summer,
and we brought it up.
He goes,
he never apologized.
He never reached out,
never nothing.
And he goes,
I've seen him since.
Like you would think at some point.
Paul Cruz,
steamboaded me.
He went low on.
me and I landed on my head and he knocked me out.
Yeah, you run into the guy.
You're like, dude, I'm kind of sorry about that.
Yeah, yeah.
Never nothing.
I never, like, Turs is like,
that guy has never reached out, never nothing.
Like, he's not going to now.
It's 30 years later.
But it's like, I remember my slash on Johann Franzen.
Like, I sent a note over, like, going,
sorry about it.
And I talked to him in Sweden, like two years later.
I was over there where Tipper tried to poison me on one of those
drinking boats, but that's a different story.
That Silius or whatever, that drinking boat that, my God, we ended up in Sweden for the
night.
Silius, I think it was.
Him and Bessitostola tried to kill me.
Anyways, but I ran into, ran into Johan Franz, and we talked about, we've talked about
it several times, but I always felt bad because.
Wow.
And as bad as that slashes, that is not.
that's a love top compared to these guys literally a love tap yeah we love you
love you thank you now you make you feel better and I can enjoy my the red part of my
don't be sharing that with your kids hide that stuff sure that's yours make sure Kipper's not
around dropping stuff into that I appreciate you pal we'll talk to you next week I'll never
forget I'm still traumatized from him he poisoned me and he never apologized either no
I'm going to message him right now and say,
you owe me an apology first.
Next week, we want that story.
Celias, the drinking boat,
and from Finland.
I think it's from like Helsinki to Stockholm.
He goes to next week.
It's insanity.
All right.
Chat soon.
Yeah, there you go.
That's quite a little thing to drop right at the end.
Yeah, that's when Kimber tried to kill me with the drinking game.
Wow.
All right.
Sounds like a story we need.
Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating.
Crystal Clear choice for home comfort 403, 219, 4100.
Checked about crystal clear Calgary.com.
Whatever's going on in your home?
James got three air conditioners?
Three.
Maybe you start with one.
Maybe your house isn't as palatial as Jamie's.
You don't need three.
Or maybe you have a palatial one and don't realize you need three.
Maybe you've got one and that thing's just working non-stop.
You know who will know?
Crystal waters.
Crystal water.
Yeah, that's right, Rhett.
Crystal waters plumbing and heating.
Crystal Clearcallagery.com.
I was looking.
It doesn't feel like it now.
But we are like within the week.
Air conditioning season is coming.
Shut the front door.
Yeah.
I mean, Rets willing it.
He's got shorts T-shirt today.
May long, I got to go with shorts.
Weather gods are obliging.
I don't give it to them.
Also moving to Frisco.
Excuse me?
Fresno.
Nope.
San Francisco.
I don't fit in there.
No.
Maybe sink, right?
Yeah.
You keep up in your way of living.
I meant Alcatraz.
Yeah.
Either way.
Were you opening that apparently?
Is it?
Well, Trump says it's got to be true.
It's got to be true.
Probably already open.
Golf of America, a huge win.
The 999 approaches.
Nine innings of baseball.
Nine hot dogs.
Nine beer beverages to consume.
What a challenge it'll be.
I have some video and I'd like you to react to it.
All right.
Jack, number 99 for the 99.
Oh, wow.
Here's the thing.
People are trying this.
They're not all pissed tanks like Jack and his buddies.
Don't even know how many times they've watched J's and 30.
That's the thing.
You need to count.
There's a math and ball.
Oh, I think you have to be organized.
You got to label them prior.
You know what you do is you get a black mark on the left arm for the beer
and the right arm is for the hot dogs.
So what are we watching?
What is this?
So this is the 999 challenge.
Some lovely young gal is going to try to do this.
I think in Philly or somewhere.
It looks a little cool.
And she's in the ballpark.
So she knows Jack.
She's not watching Jay's in 30 for the third time.
In the 999 challenge.
Let's get it.
All right.
First setting.
Hot dog for the first one.
We're doing mustard and rollo.
One lighter condiments,
person.
For three.
Out of the big.
The next year we're going with a bushlight this time.
9.9 and 9.
So we're going to the eight.
We've got four hot dogs in the pocket.
Four beers and we're all good.
Just catch up on this one.
It's getting harder, but we're doing.
I'll get it down.
All right, guys, I think we're about to call it quits.
This is my seventh year.
We got seven and seven.
I think we did it pretty good.
Glitter.
Love you guys.
Thank you for support.
No T-shirt for you.
It's not how you get the T-shirt.
Oh, dear.
Hell of a gal still though.
Still very proud of her.
That said it. Keep her.
There you see it.
Coming up on the 30th O May,
which is next Friday.
Perfect nine.
Nine dogs, nine beers,
nine innings.
To get involved,
it's going to cost $2999 to take on the challenge.
If you want to just come and be part of the festivities.
Sure on some munson's.
Yeah,
$9.99 gets you one dog and one beer.
It's more reasonable.
Again,
proceeds to Woods Holmes,
which is the charity of choice for Greta,
who will be our host and our presenting sponsors,
Origin Brewing.
Feels like they'll take,
that's the beer angle.
You got Bon Ton Meat Market.
That's not talking.
That's right.
Platinum Mitsubishi is in.
Of course,
a great partner of ours from Afterburner.
And you just,
I mean,
you know,
we're going to have some McLeodlaw on hand
just in case.
I would guess.
I don't if they're making it up,
but they said they had some summit or retreat.
Yeah.
It's the same day.
Like,
oh, shucks,
we can't make this one, guys.
We really like to do those nine dogs in three hours.
But is Pinder is drinking nine beers, nine.
Yeah, we let's book that meeting for that.
Yeah, we're booked.
Couldn't have picked a worst day.
Sorry.
Fellas.
If you would like to sign up, go to flamesnation.ca.
You'll find the link on our web page and you can do so accordingly.
Links on socials as well.
You've got the, uh, the X or the Twitter and such.
And if you complete it.
T-shirt.
There is a T-shirt to be had, but you must.
Unlike that young lady.
Got to complete it.
You must make it.
Seven is not the number.
Also, you're going to get an hour of free gaming with your general admission,
three hours for the champs.
Casey really wants Jack's puke all over his machines.
Yeah, that's going to.
I feel like you do the opposite.
Because of course,
Jack's buddies are thinking,
this is,
this is,
are you kidding?
Nine dogs and beers.
This is an unbelievable bargain.
They're like,
this is dinner.
You're going to do this every week.
Even if I don't eat him,
I'm going to steal off and take them home.
There's a link in the,
chat right now as well if you're watching live on YouTube.
Terrific.
Can't wait.
You mentioned condiments. That'll be interesting.
I don't like your strategy at all.
She got pickles in there, like maybe
a little for flavor, but less is more.
She hit the wall at seven. Think about all the condiments,
those first seven dogs. That's space you could have used.
Well, just again, because there is time,
what would be your, what would be your 999 hot dog?
And what would be your, hey, I'm at a ballpark.
I'm going to have a hot dog or I'm just, I'm going to enjoy this dog.
I'm going to load up like 10 condiments on the dog at the park.
And I'm doing maybe a little strip of mustard.
That's it for 9-9-9.
Okay.
What about you, Jack?
What's your dog?
My dog of choice is some cheese and bacon.
I think for this, I'm just going to go plain.
Plain dog.
Just bald dogs.
With the beer.
You got a dog with the beer.
Yeah, the joy chest and a dip might be aggressive.
Just thinking of the mess.
Don't need that.
And do you think it'll be.
You're going to be a mess anyway.
Oh, that's what I mean.
It's just like how much mess do we want?
It's disaster.
They might just lock off that whole alley portion of Greta.
Good idea.
Just don't even.
I know there's that fun.
These guys aren't allowed in Gen Pop.
They're not allowed to free.
It's like you're in Alcatraz.
You are in.
You're in isolation over here, you lunigans.
Have you decided?
No.
When's that?
Next Friday.
Yeah, that's next Friday.
Okay.
Too soon?
Brett doesn't book out that.
I believe we're in a bunch of,
tournament
yes for the lacrosse
indus to win this
love indus
do you think it's
because I'm very cute
do you go okay it's first inning
have my first dog
my first year do you pay
second inning third inning fourth
I guess it'll depend on
the rate of play pace of play
and all that you want a quicker pace
because you know it's going to slow down
at the end right you saw her she hit a wall late
so do you want to get ahead of it
Do you want to be five dogs deep by the third?
Six dogs?
I think I'm going beer first and then dogs.
Really?
Yep.
Because you can empty that stomach, you think?
Well, I tend to get hungry after I drink.
Like when you go home after being loaded up all night,
are you going straight to bed?
No way.
Are you hammering a bag of gummies before this?
Well, there's no nine.
Are we testing pissed?
Dean, what's the story?
Not yet.
I'm just saying that I feel like if your guts are full of dog,
you're going to have a tougher time.
Because I'm thinking you start,
you can have a couple dogs easy.
You come in prepared,
you haven't eaten a big,
big meal or anything.
So you have a couple just enjoying yourself.
Sip away on a beer.
Then maybe it's dog three with another beer.
I still think the length of the game is going to be the deciding fact.
Yeah, because some innings are just like a half hour.
that's that other ones would be like you're under two hours you are going to be
that's 11 pitches for chris basset boy he was efficient and you're like oh fuck have you
look at the rotation far enough out kind of i could forecast it let's see i don't want
the three inning yeah who's going to be pitching that day who was the quickest ever like
jukewarm was notoriously slow and i think it was like mark burley would just like grab it
and throw it just look at the signal never shook anyone off once in his skirt just throw
it well you got this pitch clock that helps or hurts hurts it's gonna say
technology wreaking havoc on the 999 who knew limited spots get in there get in there
we'll see you there as well if you just want to come and watch the chaos tremendous like a trip
to the zoo let's do the pinda report it is a presentation of village honda anthony
sweet boy cabs in action tonight he'll be watching think so probably how would he fear at the
9.99. He'd do well. I feel like he would.
Yeah. He's a big boy. Yeah. Like he's taller than the size matter.
I don't think so. I've told you about the horse. My buddy Frank from, he was just a normal size guy.
And I had some, you know, there's some big, big fellas. He could out eat them all.
I would eat them all. Food thing I'd agree. I just know, Anthony, the beers aren't going to be a problem.
Yeah. Yeah. Village Honda, the 2025 CRV.
Now, maybe things have changed, but when we were talking at the playoff draft a few weeks ago, they had the CRVs.
If you wanted one, what color do you want?
What option this thing out?
Let's figure it out.
And they're part of the Wood Automotive Group too.
So even if there isn't the exact, that certain model with all the options that, let's have a seat.
Have a seat right here.
Right here.
We'll go on the web.
It's worldwide.
but for this
we're just going to go
to the Wood Automotive Group
we're going to find what it is that you're looking for

probably going to get two or three in the draft
I already draft his brother.
Talk about it.
Older brother, younger brother.
We don't know.
Like, just get them both.
Let's go.
Also popping up this morning,
this will do some numbers, Jack.
This was thrown out on Twitter.
Should the flames go after Mitch Marner in free agency?
The argument four is a simple one.
Hey, you had 96 points.
You were bottom three or four in goal scoring.
This guy's going to help create offense.
And, oh, playoffs.
One more old song at the dome before you move.
into the new one?
Never thought we'd see playoff hockey in the old building again.
Oh, that's what you, so you're saying that's what you would get should you sign Mitch
Marner.
The case would be if we just added this offensive player to this sound defensive club.
Oh, that's planting.
Gotcha.
That would be the case.
You would be building.
Well, one thing we harped on all season for a while is they are devoid of high end talent.
Mitch Marner is high end talent.
And he also sure isn't a center.
damn it.
So go way in, check it out, find the socials, all that stuff.
Next up, we do you have to, do you guys want to sing happy birthday?
Do you have you sent your letters in?
The Roondog's 32.
Oh, run dog.
Happy birthday and we'll see you.
Next.
Oh, geez.
A lot of gift.
Poor Roondog.
Good luck, Roondock.
32 now, eh?
What age do you become embarrassed?
Forever.
Yeah, yeah.
Kevin.
Can you push the, it's your, Kevin button.
I think I do.
It starts with K, right?
There you go.
Last night, the nerds are doing some prospect talking.
Oh, God.
I don't know if you've seen this.
A little clip on Adam Klapka.
Made it.
I mean, I don't know.
It reminds me of Walker Dewer,
but I like Klappka a lot more than I liked Walker Doer.
I think Klappka stands out in a lot more positive ways
versus just being on a...
Clapka is going to play in the world's quarterfinals on it.
on Thursday.
So I mean, to me, what I saw from
Adam Klapka last year was not indicative of a shooting
percentage spike. It was indicative of a player
who found his legs and really
became an impactful player even when he
wasn't scoring. I thought he was
by far and away the best player on that fourth line
for a lot of that stretch
drive. There's Mike and
Mike. We're all nerds because we talk about sports for
living. Love these guys. And it is
a, come on. Every two weeks
prospect show, a lot on bad.
And Asha and Moran, the two flames prospects that are taking part in the Memorial Cup,
which gets started in two days in Ramuski.
You going, right?
No.
Okay.
Such a good.
The tigers are flying out.
It's a missed opportunity for the pregame speech you wanted to work the kinks out of after.
Yeah.
I think they heard about it.
Cancel.
Last night, NHL.
By the way, YouTube for more and the Flames Nation channel,
hour plus of some good prospect talking to Flames.
It seems pertinent with the draft.
like a month away.
There's your final 5-2.
Boy, the Panthers are sure
hanging some crooked numbers of late.
Is it the 6-2?
The 6-1, the 6th, 5-2.
If you're a leaf goalie
or you played four of the Leafs.
Yeah.
Tough to defend these Panthers.
Freddie Anderson's hot playoffs.
Screech.
See how they bounce back on Thursday night.
Hope you didn't go racing out on those
cons-smite odds we had yesterday for Freddie Anderson.
They will be, uh,
They'll be moving.
They'll be dancing around as they do.
The cup odds changing dramatically last night.
Florida becoming considerable favorites.
So you wins tonight.
That'll change those odds as well.
They're all at that 365.
Really?
That's correct.
Also, you did show the clip of the shot,
so we don't need to show you that again.
But I didn't realize until the loss last night.
There are bigger losers than the Leafs.
Now, successful, but bigger losers.
13 games in a row in the conference final.
Their last win was 06.
So, I mean, maybe they just haven't been there very often.
Well, to lose 13 in a row, you would have to be there rather.
Oh, I see.
Yeah, because that's a lot of.
Yeah, because it's best of seven.
You don't win any.
There's probably a lot of teams that haven't had a win in the conference final since that.
That's a fair point.
Seattle, I don't think's ever won a game in the conference final.
Buffalo sure hasn't.
Oh, but they've been there a bunch.
Oh, they sure is the issue.
Sweep, sweep, sweep. O and one.
That's the rub, I guess.
Let's keep moving.
Tonight's game.
What are we looking at?
Some plucky group of lottery balls and the Dallas stars.
One team built by savvy management, the other by inept luck.
I kid.
It's game one.
It should be fun.
This one starts in Dallas.
And the others kind of look good starting on the road because that team just
needing a split to feel good about themselves.
I don't like it all.
Did we, have we dropped the M in the PM, AM, AM, P, H?
AP. What's what's the Pockra? 8p. 100p.
8. Yeah, that's a new style thing. I didn't know, notice, Jack.
Is that what the kids are doing, Jack, are you side hustling for the NHL? Do you forget the M there?
What does PM and M stand for?
I think it's Latin for post-Merdian and, I don't know.
Pre-P midi?
Post-Mittie? Is that what it is?
It feels like it's Latin, Jack. You know any Latin?
No.
What the hell are we talking about Latin?
It's a dead language, Rhett.
dead language.
Randon's been good.
This is interesting.
I didn't know this.
It's been a while ago.
I'm trying to think about
when they were last there.
The year Colorado won the cup
when Gabe Landisog,
that was his last played
before this postseason,
Randon must have scored
in the last four conference finals,
which I believe was against the Oilers,
God bless him.
You're talking.
It's confusing.
Rico Randman can become the second player
in league history,
at least one goal in
each of his first five career conference finals semifinals games i still don't understand he's uh in this
round of the playoffs he's played four games he's scored in every one of them he's looking to make it
five for five that's impressive okay wait what did you just say because that's not what this says
oh no yeah it does this is very confusing jack our reading comprehension is not high here at barn burner
we'll do it give it it was my listening i i too i too i too i
I'm so good at tuning you out.
Yeah.
It's an art.
I'm working.
I'm giving you lots.
Yeah.
And well written that.
It's a lot.
Essentially, he's on a four game heater in a round.
Jack, AI, that shit and say,
can you simplify this so my coworkers can understand?
Make this make more sense.
You know, I saw yesterday.
Stank Coben's the first rookie to play in the West and East Conference finals.
As a rookie.
As a rookie.
He's eligible this year.
I'm last year.
It's a cool stat.
You should put that one in.
Stank.
Got Stank.
They get the hats in Carolina.
You see that?
God's dank.
Yeah, I should have a rat, man, to be honest.
Great ideas for hats.
Thought ideas.
Let's go to the World Championships over in Sweden.
Brett should be here covering this event,
or at least pretending to.
And the fans, can you imagine?
Here are your final eight.
USA, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden and the Czechs.
And Canada, Denmark, the Danes.
Maybe Freddie Anderson will get there in time.
No, probably not us tomorrow.
At the jisky bank boxin.
See you there.
Not to be confused with the Avici Arena.
I wonder if Keper will be there.
Spiking people's drinks.
That singer guy?
A person.
Avichi.
Avichi is a recording.
I don't know if that's his arena or not.
I don't understand.
Lots of money, Ryan.
Loves the game.
Yeah.
Well,
isn't it like Bon Jovi's played at the rink like a thousand times in Toronto?
So they got it like a rafter hand, like a banner hanging in him.
I'm not sure what that is.
Maybe he's played at that arena so many times.
to buy the bills and bring them to Toronto.
Yeah.
Stupid Pagula got in.
Yeah, Pagula.
We haven't checked in in a while.
Let's do this.
The Barnburner playoff pool,
we held Thursday the 17th,
the final day of the regular season.
Zane Perek and it showed debut night
at a Cowboys casino, our great pals there.
And of course, we're in a round three.
Wealthshire, top spot.
No goal, Coleman, Kuznet's off.
I'm sure what the naming there.
Prestige Worldwide.
Cooney's cousins
and parents
Top five
oh
Newman's a tough one there
I think they loaded up on abs
or something like that
I could go for some
and Villal Chana
they still won that inaugural one
they got that first one
not going to be talking about another this year
one and done I guess
Team Rosie was the drunkest table at the place
so no surprise their bottom three
and Sammy's world famous pizza
four from the bottom
our pals McLeod law right in the middle
DC power
crystal waters in there as well.
How many times in your life have you heard pizza and said,
nah, I don't feel like that.
Almost zero.
Yeah, it's zero.
You want to get some pizza?
Yeah.
Sure.
Yeah.
Where?
Yeah.
Have we just eaten in the last 10 seconds?
Always pizza.
My wife gets mad at me that eat pizza out of the fridge and I just,
you know what?
That's just the thing.
Why don't you just heat it up?
I'm like, because I love it cold.
What are you talking about?
Do you say, why don't you shut your,
Is that what you respond?
I think that in my head, but I don't use that.
What about if?
I'm like, oh, sorry, honey.
I'll just be like how I like.
What if you were staying at a buddy's house in Scottsdale and the pizza had been left on the counter at room temp,
Arizona room temp for three days or so.
Three is pushing.
Would you dive back into the box and just?
We did the studio wheel at the old shop 24 hours later.
Oh, yeah.
That was one day.
Three in Arizona.
I'm going to say, no.
Maybe it was two and a half depending on arrival time because there is.
probably was, you know what it is?
After 6p.
So at what?
Don't listen to these.
At what hour is it a no go for you?
That's really what we're talking about here.
And I think you're right.
Somewhere between 30 and 40 hours.
I don't know if it's time.
I think you is assess the product.
You have to, yeah.
It's like, well, okay.
This is where you're, I don't think it has anything to do with the product.
You assess your strong, your hunger level and go, yeah, I'm crushing this shit.
Oh, hello.
Oh, you're still good.
Oh, you're still good boy.
You'll get in my.
get in my tummy.
Also another thing you want to add into that matrix,
how much alcohol you consume?
Yeah.
It's just a fact.
Feed me a tequila.
I don't care if it's been there three days.
Clean it up, Derek Newman Group.
Yeah, get cool, boys.
Tough showing.
Let's check in.
So we're going to clean it up with Jack's great Pittsburgh sports teams.
Hey, Jack.
What's the latest?
The Pirates are one game away from tying the MLB record
for the longest streak of game scoring four runs or less.
This feels very flamesy.
Yeah, kind of lots.
Flames couldn't get to four goals this year.
I hope they crushed this record.
They had like, do you remember the Roy Holiday era for the Toronto Blue Jays
where he'd like spend like nine innings, one earned run,
15 strikeouts, lose one nothing?
That's what they're doing with Paul Skeens in Pittsburgh right now.
Eight innings, nine Ks, three hits, lose one nothing.
Fellas.
What are we doing?
One.
Just one.
Can we lay down a GD.
Bunt or something?
Get them on,
get them over,
get them in.
Like what the hell are we doing here?
Oh,
that's peak pain.
Because it's like,
we got our ace going,
and I don't even know
if we can get two runs from them.
Miserable stat line for run support for this guy.
And that sucks.
It hurts for,
well,
fantasy baseball.
We'll have to win.
You need the win.
It's true.
So how long until they trade them, Jack?
next week.
You might as well
it's afraid him now.
Oh, God.
It's not getting any better
anytime soon.
He's lost hope.
Well,
I thought he was done with the team anyway.
I would trade him yesterday
because if he gets an injury.
Tommy John.
They used to have a fireball pitcher
in Pittsburgh.
Like Garrett Cole was his name.
And they fortunately got to lock him up.
Oh, no, they did move him.
Oh, he's now a yank.
I see.
Astros, no.
That's good as he goes in Houston.
Uh, let's go.
Cab's in action tonight.
They're in Vancouver.
This is the first half of the quarterfinals of the Canadian championship.
Look at the enthusiasm on Dean's face.
You can hardly contain it.
In Vancouver.
Fell is feeling good after that four nil trouncing of Pacific on the weekend.
It's infectious.
Yeah.
And some interesting results, MLS sides last night, tying and losing to CPS.
all sides. So there's your bracket.
Calvary. You're sticking to do it.
Through. We'll be into the final four. There you go.
Back to you, Ryan.
Tush push. Was it going to be banned?
Was it not going to be banned? The Philadelphia Eagles,
of course, have created this
football play that seems almost unstoppable
in short yardage. So the Green Bay
Packers put forth a proposal to
ban the tush push. 24
votes were needed. They got
22.
And so the Eagles go to social
media and say, push
on, baby. I like it. It's great.
And how whining. He's the losers. How whining. And of course, Green Bay was the team that submitted
the proposal. So they used them in the image. And it's like, oh, you, you're moaning
about, oh, you can't stop our play? So we've got a play that works. Oh, maybe we'll change
the rules against drafting guys named Jalen Hertz. So can everyone in the league, are you allowed to do
it? Yeah. Yeah. And so can other teams do it well? No. And so you want to ban it why? Well, we're
jealous.
The oilers are really good in the power play.
So we want to ban.
No more power plays.
What team is it that drafted that massive de linemen?
Like enough of the shit.
I was bad.
I think it's a box,
wasn't it?
It was the box because he got him and Vita Vaya on the same deal.
It's like a thousand pounds of meat between those two cats.
We're not moving.
Good luck running on us.
I'm happy for the Eagles.
Yeah, me too.
I know who I'm happy for.
Your old pooch.
Sometimes when dogs move on,
They go to doggy heaven.
I think we just found it.
Look at this cowboy.
It's sucking jet ski.
What is happening?
Oh, that is good stuff.
Just out for a cruise, Dino, living our best life.
Oh, a big smile.
You'll like jagging on.
God bless you.
That's not happy.
Are you kidding me?
You were within two kilometers of a body of water.
And the dog's like, what's going on with the jet.
That's how they do the thing.
have you seen those before or no
oh he's done it
I've not done it you wanted to do it
I got screwed out of two hondo
you did
this in Mexico yeah
rid of that happens
look at a smile at the end
what a beauty
and finally
this jacket and his buddies
keep inventing dumb shit
this one's called face golf
here we go
oh
it'll be fine
what
oh
you brothers
is at 11 times
Oh, right on the B.
I mean,
and then you react like,
you hit me in the,
Oh,
right in the fucking no!
Yeah,
that's what you put through the hole.
You had your face in the idiot hole.
It's bound to happen.
I think we should rename it from face milk to idiot.
You're right.
That motion to pass,
Jack,
can call it idiot hole from now on.
Idiot hole.
Brett,
what do you think?
I think we should do this.
Some people I want.
This is peak 20.
You have some candidates for the idiot hole?
It's better than the dunk tank.
This is not better than the dunk tank.
I can guarantee that.
This is worse.
I can take it's just water.
This is like a golf ball off your teeth, your nose, your eye.
Oh, thank you.
So it's not better.
Idiot hole.
Back to you, Dean.
That's our Pinder report.
There it is.
Presentation of Village Honda, the Haunted.
a ridge line, convenience of an all-wheel drive pickup, the smooth ride of a sedan,
comfort of a luxury vehicle, the interior, car and driver magazine, talking about practicality,
comfort all that, tops in its class.
Take one for a wheel.
Take one for a spin at Village Honda, located in the Northwest Automol.
For life.
For life.
Ryan, how do you feel about golf simulators?
They're fooling us.
They're not accurate.
It's a joke.
It's a charade.
No good.
He won't stand for it, Dean.
No, he won't.
I like hanging out with buddies.
I like having beer.
I don't mind swinging clubs, I guess.
So did you go,
so you went out with some buddies to a golf sim?
One buddy and I were,
it's like,
we're going to golf on Friday.
So I was like,
let's see if we can't,
it's going to rain.
Okay,
well,
I'll see if I can book this sim.
All right,
in.
So this wasn't about just having fun.
It was about tuning your game up.
I was mostly having fun killing time,
but yeah,
it doesn't hurt that we're playing on Friday.
Okay.
They're just brutal.
Awful.
Our takeaway was that Ryan was very,
like,
I think I told me I'm eight under parsed.
It's not doing anything.
I can't stop your game.
I shot an 84 at Pebble Beach.
That's the stupid machine.
I will not break 100 on Friday.
I guarantee it.
And this stupid machine is trying to trick me into thinking I can actually get pars.
No.
Not falling for that shit.
But yes.
So it,
so it should be,
it's just make it harder.
Without the solution.
Like when you're in the truth.
you don't just hit a wedge and it flops into the middle of the green.
No, sorry.
It's going to hit eight trees and you're going to be stuck in there cursing for 10 minutes.
That's golf.
Sounds way better.
It does sound like, it sounds like less fun.
Yeah, that's what golf is.
Less, yeah, less fun.
It drives you nuts.
It can.
Also, anything make believe is not.
Not a good.
We're piling on.
It was just, it was a funny moment before the show.
I'm just done.
It was very out of the boat.
You know what?
These, he's got golf simulator.
And, you know, not realistic at all.
Like, oh, you drove that 320.
I'm like, yeah, because I normally had about 260.
I'm sure that's 320.
I'm maddy is.
Tell me I'm good.
Don't you tell me?
Tell it good.
It's just like, stop it.
It's just stupid.
May as well be doing like, remember that track meet mat they had for the original Nintendo?
It's like, oh, yeah, you're running 100 meters and nine seconds.
Awesome.
Where's you saying?
Line them up.
imagine if Pindermaid was in charge of making video games or whatever.
This is not real.
This is not realistic enough.
I'm never going to win this boxing match against Mike Tyson.
I'm never going to win this.
You couldn't beat Mike Tyson.
This is not realistic at all.
My four-year-old boy can beat Mike Tyson.
That's not realistic.
You can't call it Mike Tyson's not going to punch.
I mean, a firefight in this jet.
I'm never going to win this firefight against the rest of the plane.
He doesn't have been trained to fly a jet.
He doesn't want to fly a jet.
Come on.
be better.
Oh, good stuff.
Good stuff.
But he'll crush the 999.
I have no doubt.
99 will be much better than my golf game,
guaranteed.
They don't have a golf sim,
but Greta, do they?
They've got enough stuff.
Golden tea?
I'm more realistic.
I'll say it.
Outdoor dental.
It's real.
That's right.
No needles, no drills, no stress.
The Salea laser.
Look at that guy.
Look at that idiot.
I'm here, but you don't have a...
You're going to eat the rest of that?
The Soleil Laser.
You don't eat crusts, I love them.
It's not only terrific for the dental work.
It also works to reduce and eliminate your snoring.
Two 15-minute treatments increases the tension in the soft palate in the back of your neck,
your throat, the roof of your mouth, non-surgical, pain-free.
If you know you're a snorer, you've tried mouth garb.
and C-PAPs and all that.
This is, and you've not done this.
This has to be the next course of action.
250-minute treatments.
That's it.
Most of it's covered.
Have you got Benavits?
There you go.
Did you see Dr. Jay in there?
He's like, please, sir, could you please leave?
You're scaring the patients.
I brought a burn burner.
Yes, I know.
Probably burned a lot of things.
You go now, son.
Outdoor.dental is the website,
leaving a healthy footprint on your smile.
Oh.
That's what they're doing.
Did you write that?
That's good.
Dr. J.
Dr. J. Patel, great guy.
Oh, gee.
Yeah.
When did you do that?
Like, that hair, that was.
So last January, like a year and almost a half ago,
was when we took the huge mop and turned it into the mullet.
Oof.
Is it?
Look at that.
That side show ball, right?
Yeah, that is 100%.
It's figured like once in your life, probably should have long hair,
so give it a go.
Done.
I need a hair.
Don't need to do that again.
Do you?
So that would have been two falls ago.
It's summer out or it's not snowing out.
But just wait five minutes.
Not only is it funny on its own,
but it's a callback earlier in the show,
which makes it even more.
If it's so good.
It's so good.
I wish I'm going to do this.
Bet 365, there's a game tonight.
We've got to talk about it, I guess.
Want to get in on the action,
get in the fun for the Stanley Cup playoffs.
At Bet 365, they got you.
Game props, play.
player props, totals, the money line.
You can even bet on futures,
like series winners, conference champions,
the Stanley Cup champions, and much more.
Whatever your bet is, it's never ordinary.
I bet 365.
Download the app, get in on the game,
official partner of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Must be 19 or older.
You're going to not like this.
Oh, really?
It's called the happiness hedge, friends.
Boyler's money.
Oh, geez.
So I common point,
Bashard point, plus 375.
Ryan.
Happenous Hedge. Dallas wins. I'm thrilled. If they don't, at least I made some look.
If all those things happen. I see. Ryan.
You can see the odds. Dallas minus 1.30 slight favorites. Oilers plus 110 dogs on the road. Over under set at six.
Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm.
Hi, man. A. Go get him, Zach. Or don't. I mean, it's the hedge.
Can we? I should probably not. Also got a Vladdy Arby.
for plus 175.
An opinion on Dean's take after the show yesterday.
What a bunch of BS.
My take?
Yes, your take.
After the show?
At the end, we were all sudden done.
We had a nice little conversation going.
We were making plans for today and old poopie pants.
What did you do, Dean?
You were there.
Was I talking about?
He didn't want to, there's J-I-N-N-H.
Oh, that.
Yeah, that was after the show.
Yeah, we can't talk about that because that's a jinxy.
Yeah, it's all jinks.
If you think we have nothing to do with it, you're crazy.
You're crazy.
Look at you and you're crazy.
You're crazy.
I'm telling you, there's things.
So you, well, if you do them or you not do them,
if you have this much sway and power over outcomes,
you should use that superpower.
Use it for good.
Yes.
Solve some world crises.
Yes.
Make a difference.
And don't mope around with that sad face anymore because you are,
you're a kingmaker.
Kingmaker?
He does it all.
I do.
I have much influence.
Wow.
It's a great.
Maybe that's part of the.
Maybe the blessing is the curse, right?
All this power is to live with the way.
He's got to live there.
That is.
That's what it is.
Yeah.
Hey.
Not your fault.
It really is.
Not your fault.
He's always pushing that stuff down.
bubble up
that holds a line.
So many things in my life people think
they're gifts. You're so lucky.
You're so blessed.
If you only do, the challenges that I face
from having so much good fortune
and I'm going to play the horn now.
Because we do have some super chats today.
Good.
Some money raised for the youth centers of Calgary
and some people will get their comments,
on this wildly popular
YouTube and audio
podcast
Lowell is in with five bucks oilers
can eat a bag of dicks go stars
I don't like that
I just want good hockey
I want things to be fair for everyone
this sets a dangerous present if anyone's going to come in
and start saying nasty things with the oils
just attach monetary mounted we'd have to put it on the show
I know Lowell stop it
all
okay
Mark Lalon
$10 when
are you going to invite Frank Sarvali to the Stampede and Banaf to whoop her up.
Nothing like a 10 gallon hat for a two quart head.
Sounds like an insult, Mark.
Don't like it.
It's good.
Another shot.
One like is I got them to Jasper,
but I don't know about stampede.
Imperial measurements or what do they call that with.
Yeah.
Quarts and gallons.
I don't know how that is.
How many quarts to a gallon are?
How many liters in a seven?
Such not an even number.
That's so weird.
Frank has had a wide open invite.
always. Yeah, he's always welcome. Always.
He would get pendered. It's not far away, fellas. Start making plans.
Turns out Philadelphia's far. Yeah.
It's a far place. You made it there. It can't be that far. Yeah, I did.
Yeah. You got to want it, though.
Stee. Anybody watch the Hubey interview on the Miss and Curfew podcast. Surprisingly pretty good.
I would imagine it be good. There's a podcast that has hockey players on it and they talk.
they interview players.
Should we look into that?
Huberd's, who is he player?
Calgary.
Well, you know what it is, though, is Scotty Upshaw and he were teammates.
So Upshaw got him based with that connection from their playing days.
Interesting.
That's how that would work.
Podcast sounds a great idea.
Yeah.
I didn't see it.
I'm sure it is good.
So doing that workout thing where he was blowing the balloon, stand on one leg?
Standing on the doing the thing.
I think he got rid of that one.
What?
Remember we showed you that and you completely melted down?
You get an aneurysm.
You like fainted on the set.
You did.
It was amazing.
That's just my CTE.
Well,
it might have been a part of it.
I don't know.
Well,
if it was only,
it was online and we could find it somewhere.
Anyway,
handsome Dan,
you called,
he answered.
Love him.
$20.
The magic eight ball told me,
I'm supporting Dallas this round.
Oh, Dallas.
Hope I get to give away more money
to charity than previous rounds.
Who knew Drysidal and McDavid
didn't want me to give to charity so much?
Yeah, don't they understand for the kids?
They have no.
So is that where we're led to believe that
almost feels like
oiler losses?
Or because Dallas was randomly
picked and Dallas happened to be playing
Edmonton. Last round it was
Vegas, I think, randomly picked and they happened
to be playing Edmonton. Yeah.
Who didn't want any money for the kids.
I was going to get a match
baseball, but I have Dean.
It just doesn't know.
No. You're doomed.
No. This is awful.
That won't work.
Dumb. Stop.
I'm tired.
This is bad.
Damn it.
I already told you no.
We're screwed.
That would be good.
The Boomer 8.
I think you can sell one of us.
You got to shake it.
You got to shake it.
Just to the other side of this thing.
Why is everything?
Everything's.
You lose.
It wasn't even a
form of a question that I asked.
Anyway, well, good luck,
handsome, Dan.
I, too, hope that the kids benefit greatly
from you and your generosity this round.
That would be tremendous.
Go.
Dallas.
Go kids.
Don't they have that?
Chant in Dallas?
When they score, it's like the...
Go!
Stars.
Go!
And then the...
I like...
Hard rock kicks in.
I like when they sing the song in the third.
Is your friend going to be behind the bench again?
No, they're a jacket.
We can only hope.
Yeah.
Pause.
Pete DeBore is a good guy.
Good at coaching.
Yeah.
Good person.
You want good things for good people.
You do.
What makes him a good person?
What do he do?
Oh, he's such a good guy.
How the hell do you know?
He's never spoke two words to that man.
I absolutely have.
Oh, I have as well.
You're the only one here that has not spoken to Pete DeBore.
I yelled at Pete DeBore on the bench once.
See, you raised your voice.
That's why you don't want.
like him as much.
I mean,
shit talking.
So I was,
you're no good,
Warren.
That's right.
I'm sure that's true.
Uh,
Mr.
DeBoard.
He's a student of the game.
I will take objection to that last
comment you made about my playing prowess.
Listen here.
Pete.
Jack,
I sent you a thing.
Come on,
Jack,
for Christ,
did I send you a thing?
Did you?
I did.
I think that you guys,
you know,
see,
that's why I'm a good,
uh,
co-worker,
Jack.
I don't send you shit.
I don't put any,
pressure on you. I don't bombard
you and then not
send it. Say I sent it. You will like this
though. Don't check this out. Look at
this. This just was announced this morning in
the National Football League. Look
who's going to be on hard. No way.
Hard knocks.
Awesome. I've never seen.
This is when the first one you're going to watch and you're
going to love it. What is this channel?
You've never watched these?
Hard knocks. Oh, they're so good.
You think I sit around and watch
TV all day?
I planted potatoes yesterday.
Is that a code word for?
I was going to say, is that a you?
Potatoes pulled weeds.
I canned some tomatoes today.
Wait.
Come on over and help out.
I was busy cutting rope all afternoon.
Wait a minute.
Is that what I think it is?
No, hard dogs.
It's awesome.
They come out with a new episode every week and it's like every week.
Every week.
This week is the bills.
Not this week.
They will have training camp each week,
another episode about the bills.
You're going to get so much inside access
behind the curtain look.
How long is this show?
You're going to love.
It's like an hour. It's perfect.
An hour?
And the shovel is going to watch it.
An hour a week or an hour?
An hour a week.
The crews that they have.
It's like a series.
It's totally up to date.
Yes.
Very current.
