Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh, welcome, buddies. Back to another edition of Barnburner. Presentation of Bet365. Whatever your bed is, it's never ordinary at Bet365 official partner of the Stanley Cup playoffs. And you know, it kind of disappointed yesterday. I know, Ryan, you weren't here. It was Retro and I holding down the fort. We didn't have a super chat yesterday.
Starting point is 00:00:36 I know. Come on. I ran out of time real quick. Yeah, I heard there was something urgent arose. The nice thing, because people ask, so the difference between radio and the podcast, you know, when we're done, we're done. When we're out of conversation points and we,
Starting point is 00:00:52 when we, there's no need to drag it out. Oh, we've got to stay on till nine. We've got to be here until 10. Well, I have nothing else to say. Well, I'll just maybe repeat yourself because maybe people weren't listening earlier. Not the case here. I think Red and I had,
Starting point is 00:01:05 40, let's do that. I have exhausted our, you know, everything we want to to talk about we'd already talked about one of our biggest beefs with the radio really was yeah really was keep talking what it's gosh an hour let's do that three times now that's right well there's a there's a different uh it's a different audience than uh earlier uh p ones might listen but they're going to keep you know hello ryan how we're doing dno i'm good i'm good i like your uh like your outfit today it's very nice yeah it's very good i just thought white would be a good color today yeah yeah that's good you look can we sell those sure could who made them uh the shoveler
Starting point is 00:01:52 did a shovel make them yeah very nice you rolled in on uh halloween i don't know so oh birthday boomer's birthday birthday maybe uh yeah remember we didn't show up to your birthday listen we're going on to grease and this is how we've paid for it was the financing with the boomer shirts boom strip to grease it's awesome thank you dean boom's cruis vacation that sounds like a great yeah not exactly grease we can discuss uh today sorry i'm not there fellows here's the here's the don't take you right behind uh you know
Starting point is 00:02:24 take you right into it where is it inside the walls of the boom boom boom i'm or locker in ir locker back there baker i have a uh piece of furniture being delivered today. Oh, really? Well, that's important. Yeah. It is a furniture. It must be nice to have that kind of dough.
Starting point is 00:02:44 Well, the tariffs. Had a little extra t-shirt money kicking around, you know? Tariffs be damned. I'm spending this. I'm spending it. There's some more hot items on Kijiji. You got a great deal on?
Starting point is 00:02:55 They were stolen into the house they go. Store bought. New. Like, it's, yeah, hard to believe. Hard to believe. This is an automated message. Do not reply for an approximate. This is a notification.
Starting point is 00:03:06 You should click the link below. Enter your phone number. Uh-huh, yeah, or, uh-huh, yeah. So you go to the tracking, put in the phone number, which I'll do now. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yeah. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:03:18 And check that out. Uh, well, they think I'm AI. They think I'm some bot trying to, uh, to get in. So they won't let me do that. Brilliant. It's getting so good. Yeah. So, um, don't believe you.
Starting point is 00:03:32 No, at some point today. there is a piece of furniture show I got today. Yeah. That's exciting. In that? Yeah. Do you want to tell us what kind of furniture it is or is that too private? It's, you know, uh,
Starting point is 00:03:46 I love making machine. Is it a bidet? It's not a bidet. Biday is pretty good. I'm, I'm doing a Biday. Well, didn't you buy a bidet and then you just didn't install it? Well, I was my,
Starting point is 00:03:57 were injured. Oh, your ribs. That's right. So was it you, did you buy it or your brother bought it for you? No, I bought it. I was concerned with maintenance work with the bad ribs. Yeah. But then I couldn't put it in with my bad ribs. Your bad ribs.
Starting point is 00:04:18 So the ribs were just major. If only had Crystal Waters back then, they probably could have to figure that out for you. Yeah. Because I seem to think I, maybe Trevor was asking, like, do you think you could go and saw him? I'm not going into his shitter and fiddling around with his. toilet. It's not happening. Well, sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:38 It's dog. Come on, Dean. He'll do anything. Sorry about that, fellas. So that's why I'm at home today, so I apologize. I apologize for that. Enough of this. Listen, big night of hockey. Rhett and I talked yesterday. A couple games getting dipping our toe in a round one.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Round one, we love it. It was kind of, you know, Dallas got their doors blown off. Apparently, New Jersey's playing Carolina. That's something like that. But really, the, uh, The drama wasn't there. And we knew it would.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Yeah. I expected it would. But last night. Oh, just bangers everywhere. Thank you, Gary. Thank you for everything as the bangers came through in a big time. Everyone hates this damn playoff format that keeps giving us so much incredible hockey.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Yeah. I guess it just kicks ass anyway. Let's be honest. No matter of the format, good teams are going to be out. And the hockey's really good in round one. Oh, and they're playing their asses off and go to step up their games and the physicality. Logan Stanley nearly killed Jordan Kairu last night. Did you see that?
Starting point is 00:05:42 Well, and Kairu, I'm telling you, that's because of the regular season, nobody hits. But this is why the postseason's so good. Yeah. Is there a way to just do the playoffs, just get rid of those 82 or whatever and just play games that matter. I would think so. All you got to do is get the players to forego their salaries because they're not making in the playoffs and they make all the money in the regular season. They're not playing for money.
Starting point is 00:06:04 they're playing for pride yeah it's like four nations they don't care that's right well where do what was the first game it was the was the first game it was the first actually turned out to be good because of two nothing you're like yeah Washington might put this thing in the sleeper hold well that's when I left the house yeah and the other hockey started coming on because you had jets and blues as well so you might have you might have lost a bit if you if you went too soon there it was two nothing by the it was 1209 of the second bovillia makes it two nothing and uh it was a lot of montembowis No, not a lot of anybody else at that point. Just kind of felt inevitable.
Starting point is 00:06:39 And then Cole Caulfield on the power play. Nick Suzuki gets one late. We go to overtime. Didn't take long. That's the other thing when you settle in. Okay, so we're doing a full intermission. All right. We're going to grab some corn.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Let's dig. All right. Three, four of these sons of bitches. How many are we doing? Let's go. I'm well rested. I'm ready for a marathon. This was not a marathon.
Starting point is 00:07:03 Chip it and chase it? No. Defense. Plank. the puck is free and a great chance for Pauvillier. Ovexton scores. What else can he do?
Starting point is 00:07:21 Two on the night. He opened the scoring, he finished the scoring. That's his first playoff O.T goal. I know they talked about a lot on the playoffs on the post game. Stop. Wow. You don't play that many O.T. Playoff games.
Starting point is 00:07:35 And in those games that do go to overtime, there's only one goal yeah i was going to say there is only one score and there's no guarantee it's going to be on your team but just for the greatest goal score of all time he's played a long time he thought he probably do to have a couple so good he probably is he owes you a couple more at this can we do the uh can we do a warner whiteboard not that that's good because he it felt like oh wow that's okay so off the draw Red Walk is through this. There's Ovi. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:14 You play it. He's number eight. Okay. Well, I have to see it again because it's first time I've seen it. It's just there's. Oh. Well, it is odd to let the greatest goal score ever just got to cruise by himself. No, they knew he'd never scored an overtime. Yeah, they were. He doesn't score now. Let's put two on the guy below the goal line. Because he's. Oh, one. Kind of standing still. He is. All right. Yeah. So who are the defensemen for the habs?
Starting point is 00:08:38 Well, Lane Hudson is the. guy who comes in late. Is that a glee we've got two there? I'm looking. This is the problem with the, the dingers. 21 is goooly. The old dingers,
Starting point is 00:08:49 they struggle with this defensive cover. You know what a dinger is? Steened. The old dingers? Yeah. I know Chris Dingman. No. He was a great too.
Starting point is 00:08:58 This is a term that they're starting to use in youth hockey where it's like, well, you're not quite a defenseman, but you're playing D. You're kind of like a winger back there. You're just a dinger. Oh, really? Not real big.
Starting point is 00:09:09 And you know, like a. traditional ret era defense and you're just a dinger you're a dinger you're a dinger cc back there we've got some you get two guys guys park focused on park focus we're watching the pub obi was open he never's gone before i actually don't know where the other is that hudson right there that's hudson just coming in right yeah what what's start the clip again jack well uh water's whiteboard So he's on the wall coming across. There we go. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:09:41 One more time. First of all, you got to have a slash on the ankle. Right. It's a one-hander. Just lined up. And so immediately, bam, see where Hudson is? He's already chasing.
Starting point is 00:09:58 That's not great. So you're sleeping on the greatest goal score. Anyway, keep going. Roll it slowly. Oh. we don't really have a slow-mo it's just it's a play or a pause so when you don't have him i think you come around the bottom side but okay go that traffic jammy's gonna pick away oh stop stop it's 92 line a yeah yeah what enough are you doing maybe put some body into him and how does
Starting point is 00:10:28 okay can you back it up just to touch jack well yeah right oh nice jack a little more right there I don't know where he's going. Yes, you can't go way out there. I know, but he can't. That's, I'm telling you. I agree. It's the wrong. It's Warner's whiteboard.
Starting point is 00:10:49 You got to cut back in the middle and get to the net. Your job is not to go chase out to the point. He gets a bit of a pick here. This is a grease that'll move by the caps. Watch it. Whoop. He didn't get that hard enough. You're right.
Starting point is 00:11:03 He really didn't. Even on the broadcast. they got him highlighted. Hey, Ovechkin, huh? 896 and there's what more? Hutzukada got picked by his own guy there, if anything. He just got to ran into line. Whoopsies. Oops, hey, I comment out.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Hey, hey. One more hard stride there. Hey, St. Louis. Maybe don't have those guys on the ice and the defense. Maybe it was icing. Maybe. Maybe it's icing. It was icing, I believe.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Actually, no, you mentioned that. There's Warner's Whiteboard. if you'd like to sponsor Warner's Whiteboard, uh, contact us. I'm not sure how you do it, but, uh, definitely get a hold of us. Yeah. Send AI message and we'll get us all hooked up. So this is, I mean, you've got two things here, right? You've got the caps who've had an unbelievable season.
Starting point is 00:11:55 They've been winning like crazy and that the habs get in on game 82. You know, are they a young team building is Washington? I don't know. I just wonder how, uh, how, uh, how, uh, did. disappointed. Down to nothing. Come back, tie it. I think that's better than when they were down to nothing and they hadn't generated
Starting point is 00:12:18 F all. Yeah. They don't what I mean? There was not a lot. Yeah. At 2.2 you felt very differently because you're like, man, how do the caps blow this? They were in total control and you're like, well, maybe give the HAB some credit here. They've worked their way back into this. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I mean, you're looking for a split on the road. You can still do that, right? nothing really changes. I've said, we're going to have a lot of Warner Whiteboards today. All right. We got some big goals. Do we ought to go to Winnipeg now? I'm happy to contribute.
Starting point is 00:12:49 So that was the overtime victory. That's the overtime win for the caps. That was the first game of the night goes to OT Bang went. And everyone had turned the channel to the other game at that time because it was a little more physical and intense. It was a physical. Off to Winnipeg, two goals in the first Shifley scores. then Jimmy old oh Jimmy Snuggarood
Starting point is 00:13:10 Old man Snuggierood tied her up, eh? If you're a loose and you're not buying a Snuggaroo jersey, I don't I don't want to, yeah, we can't talk. Old, uh, what's her name on Sportsnet could not figure out how to say snuggaroo. Yeah, I back at a tough time with that one.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Snookerrood. And Ken, Ken's like snug snuggerrood. She's like, and back in here is Snuggerud. You're going to keep saying that like that. she's usually very good that's a rare snug it's the snook no no uh snuggaroo ties it nothing in the second to the third now remember in game one kyle conner scored that uh is that the same
Starting point is 00:13:50 kyle connor that wasn't good enough to play when kuch was hurt for the americans and chris crudder was hurt too yeah playing ahead of him that's right the same guy yeah same guy oh okay same guy um that one didn't they count your lucky stars Canada now when was that goal in game one that was it was late it was late right
Starting point is 00:14:12 believe I'm thinking a lot of four minutes or less in the flowery got the empty netter to salt it away but a great goal but a beautiful could he do it shoot it can still shoot it could you get another game on
Starting point is 00:14:27 I guess we don't have the video for this one do we It's good tease, though. Anyway, just trust us. It was another late goal. I have a meeting. Another great shot. 136 remaining on Saturday's Stanley Cup opener for Connor to take the lead. Hey, Connor.
Starting point is 00:14:48 That guy? Connor. Connor. Do you want me to get it? I can grab it. No, who cares? Because we could do the Dallas game. I don't know why you love.
Starting point is 00:14:59 The whiteboard so much. Like, what do you have to get to the Jets for? Enough of your love in with the Jets. It's not the Jets. It's my love in with the Warner Whiteboard. I just like watching. I like the analysis like big plays. Nowhere.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Are we, how we like this series? What were expectations? Where were we at after two? Kind of what I expected. It was going to be tight. We knew with St. Louis's,
Starting point is 00:15:21 they're not a joke. You put on that kind of a run. And I don't know that the better team hasn't won or has. one. I don't think that the blues have been better, but they've been right there. One until the third, but then the Jets were clearly better in the third. The JETE, a pretty good squad.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Let's give them a little bit of credit here. I'm impressed that's their ability to play the heavy hockey, because when you think of them, you're thinking to Eelers who's out, and you're thinking of Shifley, who's not tremendously physical, but I suppose could be, and you're thinking of Kyle Connor, who looks like he should be serving
Starting point is 00:15:56 fries at McDonald's, and Neil Pionk's not huge, and Morrissey's not huge. De Mello's not huge. But like, they do have a lot of really good edge of the roster physical players and the blues we know of a lot of those guys. Like, Paraco's a beast. I've been impressed with the physicality both ways.
Starting point is 00:16:14 And for the Jets, it doesn't have to be you know, this we'll trade chances win 5'4. Yeah. It's almost, there's a bit of Vegas to me in watching the Jets. It's just kind of three lines. They come at you. And like you say, it's not like they're driving you, although was it in Logan
Starting point is 00:16:30 Stanley crushed Cairo. But they're just, they're big and solid, and they come at you in waves that you don't get a lot of, you don't get a lot of freebies, I guess, maybe with Winnipeg. They just got a hard nose style straightforward. Yeah. There's plenty of skill on the team. So you don't want to try and take away from that or speak. Lowry this time of year is just awesome.
Starting point is 00:16:55 Awesome. It's just every. Shen was all. God. God. God. God. God.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Did you hear they were. because the brothers, eh? Yeah. Shen brothers. Do I have it? Brother, brother, brother, brother, brother, brother, brother, brother. Brother. The Shan brothers, one's on St. Louis and ones on Winnipeg.
Starting point is 00:17:11 It's the guy in Winnipeg. They were chanting, Luke is better. Yeah. Kind of as a shot to his brother. Not sure that's accurate. I think he even, he even said after after the game, I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. It was like Michael Stain here, you know. Yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Yeah. Brother. Val-Barre. Like Calgary. If you could corner the market and get. the other brother. Mm-hmm. Oh, so this is Rob Nehmerermeyer.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Oh, shoot. Because the other, the other guy is pretty good. So it's a one-one game. We do have it, I believe. Let's go to the whiteboard. We go to the third, under two to play in Winnipeg. As we go to Brett's whiteboard corner, we'll work on it. Warner whiteboard.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Warren whiteboard. All right, puck goes low. We're good. Oh, oh. Oh, you're kind of standing. by him. It happens fast. Because he's not in the slot until he, right?
Starting point is 00:18:10 It's not like he's there. Two minutes. Yeah, but okay. I mean, it's easy to critique because we've slowed it down and we're on to back it up. We're armchair quarterbacks. Stop. How much time is left in a period? Oh, two. Oh, in a tie game
Starting point is 00:18:25 in a playoff game? That's correct. And the St. Louis's team is just going to stare at the puck. Watch. Everyone. do do do do do do do oh shit oh yeah how did we oh no so they just fell asleep i was just there no one was there i was just in the slot it was do do do look there's no one even near the slot i don't know what what they saw it was empty they're brilliant in winnipeg they're playing the master's music and the blues they just okay connor lurking like a shark and i was going to say
Starting point is 00:18:57 you've got connor way at the top and then perfetti comes down low It must be nice when you This is a board This is the Rhett whiteboard corner Yeah So shut the hell up with your guys Well you got Perfetti low And you got a Jimmy
Starting point is 00:19:15 Cover the fucking guy in a All right Slot Another swear Real simple You could sponsor the swear jar We don't know how But it's true
Starting point is 00:19:23 For sponsorship A lot of sponsorship Two minutes left Playoff game But not must win But really would be nice To win one in Winnipeg It'd be nice
Starting point is 00:19:33 Played really Well, fall asleep. Leave the guy. What? Dixon Ward did that cost us a Stanley Cup. Oh, Dixon. Come on, Dixon. You could see it from the bench.
Starting point is 00:19:45 And when you're dialed in as a team, you're watching and you can tell when there's something's in Wardo. Brett Hall got high in the slot. Wardo was looking low, lost him. You could see it coming. Yeah, that was a dirty goal anyway, though. No, no, no. This was a different. This was game two.
Starting point is 00:20:00 We had one game one in overtime. And it was tied late in the third. just like this. Can't fall asleep, kids. Do we have that goal? Could Warner Whiteboard that one? Did you chat with that about him in Pentington a month ago? No, he's still, I think he went down to Cordillane.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Nice for weather. I'll throw this in here. This is Tara chumming. She says, watching this series, it's hard because I really think it should have been the flames. Has anybody thought about that? No. I feel like for me, after they were out, it was, okay, well, I've just
Starting point is 00:20:34 kind of turn that off. I haven't really thought about how they would be faring in any of these. No, and look, like, when, as soon as they got Montgomery in, they've been very, very good. The flames worked their tails off and were impressive down the stretch. The blues were another level. And
Starting point is 00:20:50 honestly, like, we have a talk about it at all. Dylan Holloway getting hurt, it's a huge deal there. Huge deal. He's a point per game player under Montgomery. And since he's been hurt, they closed, they had a four game losing streak. Oh, for Christ sakes. Toughen up then. Don't have heard more?
Starting point is 00:21:07 I thought, I just thought maybe. That's just played hurt. So the, the, uh, the Jets win it by a score of two to one. They've got a two, oh,
Starting point is 00:21:14 series lead. Do you think you're going to the playoffs without an injury? You're drunk. No, I, I just mean, like, I think the gap between St.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Louis and Winnipeg is substantial. I think the plans would have got shit kicked in the Winnipeg the way they played. I mean, the one thing you can always say is you've got the goalie. Um, but no, the thing with Winnipeg is over a hellablock? How was he and,
Starting point is 00:21:36 Game one, right? Tell us about it. Like, you look pretty shitty. So Wolf can't? No, my point is, is that like, the one thing you have is the puncher's chance of having a goal that can steal you a game. But what negates that to your point is that hell of a guy too. Well, last night, Bennington allowed two. And they don't win. Well, we're not to be. Anyway, I just think the physicality of the jets and the way they've played that the flames, I don't know. Can they play that way?
Starting point is 00:22:03 You love their work ethic. And guess what? They didn't make the playoffs. they don't get the chance. Yeah. That's right. So do we want to go to Dallas? If only when Niedermeier came here,
Starting point is 00:22:14 we could have talked to his brother into coming. Like if we could play the one. That's what Jim Rutherford's trying to do. Hey, he's trying to get the brothers to come. We'll talk about it. Do you think they ever, because that was, that was Berkey,
Starting point is 00:22:23 right? Didn't Berkey pull that move? Getting Scott to come to Anaheim. He was the GM in Anaheim. Did anybody even think about it? I don't know if the, whoever was running things when they brought Rob here. had that in the back of their head, but if they did,
Starting point is 00:22:38 sneaky. It's smart. If we just get Valphery and robbed, the rest of the Cranbrook, they love Cranbrook. I'm a surfer. I love the ocean. Yeah. They live in Cranbrook. Something like that. Well, yeah. Show offs.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Anyway. So there's game two. Winning him. One in overtime. One with a game winner late. Jets feeling good. This night, this play odd, this is, this is God. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Oh, hey. Popcorn. Let's go. To Dallas. The stars kind of got, they got one of these in game one. Capo. Blamo.
Starting point is 00:23:16 We showed it yesterday. They took a punch right in the, they got knocked out. Could they bounce back? Colorado, Nate McKinn and then Sagan, who's apparently still living. I had no idea.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Tyler Sagan back. That's good. Harley, Jack Drury, O'Connor, Dadenov. How about that, O'Connell? honor goal yeah who backhand calgary boy yeah is he there yeah something like a yes yes regulation solves nothing we go to overtime and for overtime we go to warner's whiteboard
Starting point is 00:23:51 reds that's white corner right going at johnson blackwell into the slot shoots save made through traffic by blackwood blackwell they play by blackwell beautiful that you can do about it near the abs they're on everything they can to shut this guy down, but he's unstoppable. Yeah. Oh, I was going to say as you as that clip starts, reminder, it is five on five. We're not three on three. There's not a lot of bodies in the screen.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Yeah, but I think there was a bit of a turnover and well, they're in fine shape until the. Not often you see the puck come to a complete stop. Well, the two. This is just circumstance. I would say it's actually a, well, I was going to say, is it a bad rebound? No, because he was just.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Didn't even get there. The Colorado guys don't take each other out. They're fine. Yeah. They run into each other and have to Dixie. Miles Wood, you had Blackwell, you had Blackwood. It's all very confusing here.
Starting point is 00:24:49 It's too much. Probably just good right there. That's fine. Still good. It's just. Wood can't get to the puck because he gets tripped up by the D. Who's the watch? Stop.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Who's doing the poke, like that guy, the, the 28? The guy, yeah. I think that's Miles Wood. could be wrong, but he, he sort of collides with the defenseman six. No, no, no, no, no. I'm saying the second guy in the slot for the abs. Back it up just to touch, Jack, just to touch. So the guy right between the hash?
Starting point is 00:25:20 Right there, right between the hash. The puck's laying there. Yeah. You could go get it. Like who's closer, him or Blackwell? And even, right, like, you have to try to get there. Watch how soft this is. Even if Blackwell scores, he should be chewing on his,
Starting point is 00:25:35 his chicklets should be layered or laying on the ground. because he got drilled. Watch this. Oops. I don't want to run into anyone. Is he thinking pass through the slot? Not sure. Back that up.
Starting point is 00:25:52 That's actually shameful. Whiteboard's getting good. Look at it. Look at it. Oh. You see he says, hey, Puck's over there. Guys, it's right there. He pointed at it.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Holy F. Sit his ass down. Who is that? This is one of those ones. where it's like, okay, I'm in position. Those two guys just not wipe each other out. Oh, shit. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Well, who's on the ice for Colorado? Is that 20, 27, I believe is who that is. So that would make him Johnny Drew N. Yeah. If that's in fact, 27. That's not one. That's not one in.
Starting point is 00:26:31 You know what we're doing for you here. The stakes happen with this Rett's whiteboard corner. We're getting your next job. That's what we're doing. We're doing it to ourselves. We're going to lose Rett because he did. It's so good on the whiteboard, someone's going to hire you. Nice to know you, bud.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Like who? Like an NHL team that loses in round one. And this is, hey, who's bigger? TSN, when the coach is going to the paddle. How do you think torts and those guys kept getting gigs? Yeah. That's what we're doing here. Oh, if only I could get on the TV.
Starting point is 00:26:57 They tuned in before you're talking about it. It's so good. Well, this is the TV. You're already on it. Oh. Now an NHL team is going to be, you know, are you guys watching Warner's Whiteboard yesterday? I was watching Warner's Whiteboard.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Did you see Warner's whiteboard? NHL teams love when you slow down video and just rain people out. Well, we've always known you've been a big fan of video. So you're just showcasing yourself at the league. Slow that down again. No, even slower. Guys, I was, I was going through some video yesterday. And players love it too when you slow it really down.
Starting point is 00:27:32 So there you go. That was last night. Overtime, overtime, late regulation winner, great night. There's four games. in, uh, I was sleeping. Oh, there was one more. Thank you, Ryan. It's a Florida Tampa.
Starting point is 00:27:50 So they shouldn't be she playing late. Oh, that's, uh, that one, that one, that one hasn't started. Jets and blues are two in. They haven't even started Florida Tampa yet. Yeah. Uh, the oilers were in L.A. That was the late game. Well, maybe he didn't, maybe some didn't stay up.
Starting point is 00:28:05 They're playing again. Again. I saw the anthem. We've got the anthem. I did. I saw the anthem. We'll see it later. We halt.
Starting point is 00:28:15 You should do the anthem right now. Do you want to do the anthem now? It's chronological. This is how you set the tone, game one of the playoffs. We got home ice this time. You know, change how it's gone in the past.
Starting point is 00:28:27 This is our one chance for a first impression of the series. And they would have had, they'd have had their, like their in-rink, their game night folks. We need a bang or a promo. That's right.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Turn the lights. Oh, we need some music. And we're going to get, let's go. And you think you got, you have four home. games in theory in round one. So you've got to have four acts booked.
Starting point is 00:28:45 And maybe if you wrap things up, moved to round two, okay, game seven, we'll push that to round two. But you got to be ready for this stuff. So this is the anthem for night one. It's your analysis. You're right.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Crank up the voice. They're serious. Oh, what are you? What are the monikas? He's cut to choose. Michael on one of a broadcast. He's tired.
Starting point is 00:29:37 And you had it with the sickness thing. I mean, that's how you get rid of it. Oh, really like, geez. Look at these old old blue hairs. Beautiful stuff. You think they have their teeth in, or is it easier with your teeth out to do the harmonica? What's the one with the editing?
Starting point is 00:30:08 It's not a Jews harp. Yeah, that's next game. That's tomorrow. Good on the crowd for, you know, Belt and the note. Can we hear more? Is that it? Keep going, I guess.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Oh, keep her going. I got to hear it. Big, big applause. Oh, they're terrible. And it's the capital of the world. That's right. It's since the town, you need access to some of the finest performers in the world,
Starting point is 00:30:46 right there in L.A. I mean, we're having fun with it. But how did it come to be? There has to be some sort of story. Well, these are one of those ones where you wish you were the flying the wall because somebody is dying laughing. Yes. Or a complete idiot, right? Like you're you are either dying, laughing with your buddy or round a beer over a beer after that.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Like is Rob Blake's or fire? Grandma part of the thing. What's your grandma at a work day? What it was? How the F does that happen? It's LA for Christ thing. Game one, playoffs. Yeah, set the tone.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Holy. Set the tone. I tune in for that. I'm like, I do not like this. This is not set the tone. Jack, what did you?
Starting point is 00:31:31 You got to set it. What did you think of the harmonica? I loved it. I was like, I turned it on like midway through. I'm like, what is going on? And then I kind of,
Starting point is 00:31:41 the anthem. This is amazing. He stood up and started singing too. My hat off. Now listen. We're taking the piss out of them. 249 in. One nothing.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Kings we're not taking the case of the kings so Dean we're taking the episode of the harmonica players and I'll tell you what I think the four of us could probably do as good a rendition you give us a week with harmonica like we're going to crush it Dean you got harmonica I don't
Starting point is 00:32:09 sing I got ukulele what are you going to you got Maracas yes the mouth organ Kuzmiko 1-0-0-0-0-5-field 2-0 to the second Kempai 3-0-0-Denov makes it four nothing near the end of the second period curtains right put the lights out we don't need
Starting point is 00:32:28 to play the third and maybe it is scar tissue and i am the nervous nelly of the group we know that's like oh you probably dry sidle 1954 six seconds left four to one get to the room handle the six seconds if it's not four nothing they call a penalty on mac david there yeah they do yeah he's got a stick. I, uh, I just, what does it look like? He's got, he's got us got got got a hold of the stick. Got it. Okay. So dry sidel does make it four to one and it's four nothing feels better than four one. But at the same time, it's a four one lead. I'll tell you what though in that in the oilers room, that's huge. Agreed, clearly. Because instead of going in going, oh my God, Bouchard, you're fucking. Oh, sorry. You're. You're.
Starting point is 00:33:24 terrible and we can't play you and this sucks they're going in hey we got one we're back in it we're back in it let's go we're it completely changed everything and the refs suck and that's the thing the oilers is there's all it feels like there's always enough time well they're going to pull the goalie and get one that just feels like it's they're going to get one with the goalie out so give them that one so if they can get to within one it it just changed it If you ever gets within one, their kings are screwed. And it shouldn't have even gotten within two, to be fair. Because they did get it back to their credit, two, not, two 19 in, or sorry, they, they added it to it, four to two.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Then Fiala scores in the power play. What a shot. What a shot. That was a play. And if I, all right, well, that's going to be, but even stills, there's 15 minutes left. It's a lot of, it's a lot of time. Killed a five on three? Killed a five on three?
Starting point is 00:34:27 If they lose that game, that's the thing. No one, we'd all be looking back like, what? Yeah. It was a shooting gallery. They were zipping it around. Some of them, you're like, do something. This one, they were doing everything. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:37 How they didn't was amazing. Yeah. Corey Perry cross-check's a guy in the back, is left alone, but he scores. Are we all on board with? Probably an accident. A loud? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:34:51 I see that play. Perry scores. McDavid takes over in front to Hyman. They're within one. Well, I mean, you've missed a very large piece here at 5-3. The L.A. Kings have three shots in an empty net, including one inside Edmonton's half with a guy uncovered. Yeah, they rushed that shot too. And when you miss over the empty net and it's 5-3, that was your chance to put a stake in the oiler's hearts.
Starting point is 00:35:19 And you knew from that moment forth, it was time to get gripping. and I believe it was Fiala or it was 12 is more. I can't remember which I was pretty sure it's Fiala. Fiala had one for sure. And it was the first chance they had an empty net. There's two more from their own zone. That's fine. I understand guys missing from 160 feet.
Starting point is 00:35:35 But Fiala is a cross center, a stride into the offensive zone and misses an empty net. That goes in at 6.3. The Oilers put their goalie back in. This thing's over. Yeah. You cannot, cannot, cannot miss that. Who's always said that, right? Dean likes the empty nutters.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Who's always told you the importance of an empty netter? And that's all that's going through my head. Now you are going to get a job in the NHL. You can be one of my, you know what? Associates. Anze, Drew, Adrian Kemp,
Starting point is 00:36:10 fellows, just one moment. We've got a special guest speaker. This guy's name is Boomer. He's going to talk to us about empty netters. Just had a game two here, fellas. Real questions coming in, Boomer. Everyone's attention. Here's Boomer.
Starting point is 00:36:21 How many? Did you score with a goalie in the net? Five. Can you get one without a goalie in the net? Yeah. Fellas. It was painful. Without a goal.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Well, let's say this. If you had a rooting interest, if you were perhaps cheering for one side over the other, and maybe you were cheering for the Kings, it was kind of hard to watch because then McDavid, I'm going to get the puck, I'm going to go through here, I'm going to chip it to myself off the wall,
Starting point is 00:36:50 I'm going to cut in at 100 miles an hour. And did you see him about two or three minutes there? Like he was gassed. He has not played a lot of hockey in the last couple of weeks. And I mean, he had the full furnace face bent over trying to catch his wind on the, on the bench. He'll get there. He's just fine.
Starting point is 00:37:06 But it was, it was pretty clear he is not in, uh, in peak shape right now. And then he ties it with one 28 left. And the F bombs, they were raining down. He's a four pointer for 44 soft. Kemper, stop the puck. Yeah. Stop the puck, but oh my God, what a shot.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Some guys just throw it on that. Yeah. And some guys throw it on net and it goes in because they've got that touch. He sees that hole. Yeah. I'm just going to put it right there. It's, you watch that when he takes over games like that and you're like, how do you not have three banners? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:44 Like you literally, you were annihilated and Connor and Leon look at each other. Like, still this fucking routine. It's, we got to do it ourselves. don't we? And they go out and do it. And you're like, all you had to do was produce like three or four okay players, understand the cap and like have a little bit of analytics so you don't sign Jack Campbell for 25 million. Like you should have all the cups. Look at them play. It's insane. He took over the game in two minutes. It's not taking up too much the cap. No. You get 70 million to spend on guys not named Connor and Leon. What are you doing? I like and I also wonder too on the flip side what the other guys must be thinking. It's like, God, if I could just help out a little bit. I mean, he's doing so much for us. Why couldn't I have scored that goal? Connor, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:38:32 Guys, I'm so sorry. So they tie it. And then so what's going, I'll go to you first, Ryan, because I think I know where you're at. So they tie it. What's going through your head? You're like, of course they did. Of course they did.
Starting point is 00:38:46 You idiot, empty net missing losers. Of course they did. Of course they did. It's, you're talking to Connor. best player you'll ever watch in your life. And they're trying not to win without him, but he's dragging their ass into this series. Because they put,
Starting point is 00:39:00 they put dry sidle and McDavid back on. All I was saying, this may not get to overtime. That's what I thought. I thought they've decided to win this just right now, I guess. Exactly, right? They're just going to fucking bury this thing right now.
Starting point is 00:39:12 It didn't feel like overtime. It was like, they're still coming. Yeah. Although they did have to put their goalie back in, which has not worked well. The Kings were thrilled to see a goalie in again. And we were right.
Starting point is 00:39:23 If you were all in the same frame of mind that this wasn't getting to overtime. It just didn't go how I figured it would. And for this, we go to Warner's Whiteboard. Sorry, Jack, I thought we were. We used to do it. I thought we'd have the thing there. Oh, look at the baddler. There's nothing.
Starting point is 00:39:43 I can't feel worse for guys when they're just, they've got that reputation as being a hard-nosed player, a guy that never gives up, works his ass off, just does all the right things, sacrifices his body. And poor Bushbaum, it just, wrong place, wrong time.
Starting point is 00:40:01 I feel terrible for the Bush. So, he was, yeah, where is he on the, uh, he's standing in front Dean, doing nothing.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Yeah. Here I go with Fogel. Oh, no, oh, oh, oh, I've better get out of the way here.
Starting point is 00:40:17 I don't know that that's on him. He was, I caught myself terrible all night. Bush? Yes. Coach was asked about it very specifically. Guess how much he played on this night? Because there's a,
Starting point is 00:40:30 there's a reason that you're seeing so much Bushard. I don't care. I wouldn't play him. 2820. He's terrible. And so why is he playing 2820? Because they literally have four guys they trust and that's it. And that's one of them?
Starting point is 00:40:46 Brett Kulak played two seconds shy at 25 minutes. I would play Kulak double. Nurse played 2517. Wallman got to almost 20. And the third pair of Emerson and Brown, you hardly saw him. 454 for Brown. They play with 5D. And Emerson, the guy that was going to replace Cici,
Starting point is 00:41:06 replaced Proberg, a top four, 13 minutes. They don't have enough defensemen. And Bouchard's the shits. So when you're playing him 28 and he's the shit. Did you see him throw the fucking puck away? Holy! I guarantee you, McDavid, inside his brain is losing his marbles. I'm working my ass off out here, and you're cheesecakeing it, you chicken shit. Oh.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Honestly, if you're McDavid, what's the conversation like if they lose around one? Sit his ass and get him the out of here. Who are you playing? Like, they're cooked. They don't have to. Look, it's still two of the best players on Earth. How do you arrive here in the last year of Drysidal on a lot? a deal and not have any sort of depth back there.
Starting point is 00:41:52 Like Troy Stetcher's supposed to come in. He was like a seven in Arizona a few years ago. I love the guy. But like, oh, we're missing. Stichers like his heart and soul, not his ability. There's no deep. Like, they have four defensemen. I don't know what you're tough. Four defensemen.
Starting point is 00:42:08 They put. Chard is terrible. I didn't know that Joshua Brown played for the Oilers. They're injured a bit. And in fairness, he didn't play a lot. as you mentioned four minutes and 54. Which is why they're in the pickle. As soon as you're down to 5D
Starting point is 00:42:23 and two of them are Kulak and Emerson, like what are you doing? You can't play Bouchard against good players. 28 minutes against good players last night. And how many goals did they give up? Quite a few. Six. Like it's not like your fucking goalie's good enough to cover up for
Starting point is 00:42:40 Bush's chicken shit giveaways. I'm just glad they went out, got another four. Did you see the fourth goal? Can we find the fourth goal? It's a literal like cam sandwich to the slot. What are you doing? Pizza? I'm sure there's loser, oiler fans out there listening that are.
Starting point is 00:43:00 He's terrible. That's the de no goal in the. Okay. Well, I can find it. I'm scared. Bushard was plus one, Redd. He was plus one, Red. Success.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Three helpers on the night. Plus one. I could be a plus playing with like. They miss Ackholm in a bad, bad, bad way, fellas. He was awful. I'm sorry. That's the guy who plays with him. And he needs that security blanket next to him.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Usher to play offense. Echolm plays D without him. I don't know how the hell this is going to work. 11. That's that? Overpay him. You know what? Jack, delete that portion and make sure it doesn't go out of any of those stupid clips.
Starting point is 00:43:44 He was great. I would, three points plus one. tough i mean you can lock him in this 30 yes you got to pay that million get him locked in locks growing yes how what are you going to do without him you don't have enough defense me you can't play brown that com's getting older comes old come on what do you do come on kids coming in the system got to lock him in got to play him you got to sign this guy probably 11 right 11. Maybe 12.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Inflation's a bitch. He's only going to get better. Tariffs. I don't know. 13. It's a lot of cheeky. It's a lot of cheeky right now. Take your business.
Starting point is 00:44:27 I can probably find this goal, Jack. There we go. Are we not allowed to play them? No, it's just, well, we didn't, I didn't know we'd be looking for the four. There's a lot of goals. There were a lot of them there. But I'm on it.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Talk amongst yourselves. Continue. I'll get this. I want to ask about this. So basically L.A. through 50 minutes has completely smothered and controlled the Edmonton Oilers. That is the dragon they've been trying to slay three years in a row unsuccessful. Drew Dowdy said it after the game.
Starting point is 00:44:58 He said, I'm glad we won the game because that would have been a shitty way to, shitty way to lose a game. Can you make sure this doesn't happen again, L.A.? Because 5 on 5 you were vastly superior. It was only when they pulled the goalie and you missed empty nets that this thing got off the rails. Yeah, and you're right And they should have put it away And if you score
Starting point is 00:45:18 The issue is though If McDavid and Jaisal Up their game and Any given shift What do? Like you're literally watching I'm like I've watched some of it And I don't know how many
Starting point is 00:45:33 There was at least two goals where Dowdy's laying down Trying to take away lanes It's like oh I just gonna eat on that But I think it's the right play do you know what I mean like I don't know how you defend them I think that's and that's the problem is that okay he beat my D partner well there's definitely a guy open on the back door and I can't attack him I'm going to at least eliminate one of his options and he's still good enough to make it an option like he still finds a way to find the guy like it's I don't know what you do I've said I don't know I can't describe we I played Mario I still remember it I had Mario Lemieux in the corner in Buffalo. I'm like, I got him.
Starting point is 00:46:17 And he scored a goal within a split second. I don't know what the fuck happened. Where do you go? What? Is it? It's in? Like, I don't, and I can't even in my brain figure out how he did, what he did, and how would it even unfolded?
Starting point is 00:46:33 And I think that's the problem with the guy like McDavid. Dowdy is awesome. I think he's one of my favorite defenseman of all time. He reads the game. He plays it right. He's skilled. He's smart. Physical.
Starting point is 00:46:43 You don't. It doesn't matter. It still makes the play. Still makes the play. Hey, guys. The issue is, even if you play great, are you stopping them? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:00 Go ahead, Dean. Let's go to Warner's Wakeboard. Oh, nice. We take you back to the game last night in Los Angeles. This is at the 1743 mark of the second period, king's up three zip. That we're just going to cruise into the third up couple. Puck goes back.
Starting point is 00:47:22 Oh. That was supposed to go to corner. Okay, now we've seen it. Let's wind it back, Jack. That's what we've got to do. You've got to get a feel. Okay, puck goes in. We're in good shape.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Stop it. I don't think Kulak needs to put it back down. I can't tell if that's an oiler or a king, though, under the up by the blue line. So maybe that's a king, and he's got to go to, And Bushard's wide open back there. Yeah, that's fine. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:49 So we're fine. LA's, that was a king. So stop. Well, go back a little. Stop. Now it is McDavid. Just put it near McDavid. He'll get it.
Starting point is 00:48:05 And you might, yeah, I'll just give it to Connor, which is usually a good play, except if you don't give it to Connor, and it's in the slot. And it sure looks like you're a chicken shit, when you do this. Well, and Conner's thinking he's not going to backhand this. He's going to go on his forehand up the wall.
Starting point is 00:48:25 There's no ass hat defenseman in the world that's going to just look at the effort by this guy, though. Look at him. He is dialed in. He's giving her. You know what? You got to respect that he gives us all. And I mean, look at the heart and soul on that. And it's wrong.
Starting point is 00:48:47 And it's wrong. And it should. Yeah. It's why risk it up the middle. like you're going blind you don't even have backhand right through the crease that is beer league whatever
Starting point is 00:49:00 effort look at him get back he doesn't no maybe maybe he's playing too much 28 minutes maybe you should have your team a different way you well at that point it's the end of the second period of game one
Starting point is 00:49:18 I'm not I'm just we're hey there's no everything it's I thought he was awful. And the problem is that if you're healthy and you've got Ackholm, that helps. And if you had better D and didn't give away Broberg. This is the problem I have is that that's fine.
Starting point is 00:49:35 If Atcom's healthy and your defense is better and you got different, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You still only have four defensemen that could play. And Bouchard's still going to make those stupid and be lazy and look like a guy that could care less. That's not going to change. Echo might cover off some of the stuff. does. But if he's your guy.
Starting point is 00:49:54 Do you remember when Oliver Shillington looked like a top four defenseman because he was playing with Chris Tanna. At Coleman means that the Bouchard in a way, not the top four thing, but just that it allows him to, like here's the thing. At home understands, don't give it to Bouch there. I might eat one on the wall, but I'm not putting it there because we're going to avoid the Bouchard, oopsie. I honestly, because I was kind of doing stuff, I didn't watch that closely.
Starting point is 00:50:20 I saw that, but to really kind of, oh, and dude, he made all kinds of terrible. From the blue line in, it was like, are you, are, is this a game to, what is this practice? Yeah. The body language isn't good. Ryan hates it when I say he doesn't care. It appears like with his play, he does not give a crap. No, that's exactly it.
Starting point is 00:50:42 It appears like he's not invested. And I don't know, man, like there's a lot of Carlson there. He's no good in the D zone. The mistakes all in. up on high. I don't think he's as creative as Carlson. He's put up like a point and a half for game in the playoffs last year, which is just in the same.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Absolutely. A lot of that's Dricedle-McDavid. Exactly. It's driven so much by the guys that you pass the puck to. Like, if you're just capable of getting the puck through on that, when you're on the power play with McDavid and Driesidal, if you are in Edmonton and you're there number one defenseman on the power play, whether you're good enough, whether you could go to another team and run the power play or not, you're going to get 50 points.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Yeah, that was Tyson-Berry before I went to national. going to get 50 points. Like I'm the defenseman that's on the power play with McDavid and dry sidel. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. And the thing about about those two, obviously with Bushart, it's who he's playing with. He's getting the power play time and it's the shot. With Carlson, there was just, you know, he was more shifty, better skater, more high, you know what? Yeah, more of a dinger.
Starting point is 00:51:39 What, what I mean? He'd be kind of a dinger, right? The way I view it is, is not, like, stylistically. It's just that you're talking about, like, 99 percentile offensive players and, like, two of the worst defensive players in the NH. That's where I would see the similarities between the two. Like when you give them an odd man rush, they will make you regret it.
Starting point is 00:51:58 And if you have a simple one-on-one against them, they can completely blow it. Like you're talking about all gas, no breaks, those two guys. Now, I'm just throwing this out here, and I honestly, I don't even know if there's anything to look at. I just went and I grabbed the longer clip of the King's game winner. Again, like we say, for context,
Starting point is 00:52:16 because the oilers have all the momentum. now. So before we start it, so it's a I mean, it's an offensive zone. You can see what's happening. I don't know if there's anything to see here, but we know how it ends, but just to take a look at it. We can play it, Jack. Because again, they're in, that bounce.
Starting point is 00:52:38 It's some, it's some, it's some bounces. Like, go back. He's not busting his ass, but he kind of, I'm not even saying Boucher. I'm just kind of looking. This is kind of a you, stop. Stop. Yeah, if he's sprints back.
Starting point is 00:52:54 Maybe it doesn't help. He knows Fogles this guy. He's got a couple of lengths on them. And then I think he also identifies it's going to be on three or two so he doesn't want to get a low fogol. Let's look.
Starting point is 00:53:04 Let's see. Where am I going? What have I got? Yeah, it's not great. Part of the issue for the Oilers, also, when I look at that offensive zone play, everyone's expecting McDavid and Driesolder to do it.
Starting point is 00:53:22 I was going to say. You know what I mean? And they typically do do it? And I would probably be in the same boat. But they're so accustomed to just letting those guys, they don't feel like, well, I don't know if they don't feel like they're part of it. But they don't feel like there's any pressure on them to perform. I also just think there's a lot.
Starting point is 00:53:44 Like this is the second oldest team in the NHL. Like there's just a guy, a lot of guys who are it's like, oh, yeah, they're bringing in Vic Arvinson. You're like, cool. If he was 28, that'd be great. Like, oh, they're bringing in Jeff Skaters. Like, cool. if, you know, he'd ever been in the playoffs and wasn't in his 30s, that'd be great. Like, they just, there was a lot of really bad management here.
Starting point is 00:54:02 Like, how many years in a row we said, yeah, they should go fine, a guy to play with Skinner. And the shitty part is they might still win. Still, it's, that's the embarrassing part is that all you had to do was a middle of the pack job with your roster and you'd have banners. It's been a disaster. I'm still, the thing we haven't really talked to, how does the freaking puck go in? I mean, he kind of flubs.
Starting point is 00:54:25 Does it fogles screening them? It catches a piece of the corner of Skinner and Floatts. It's totally lucky. It's totally lucky, but that's also a situation where if you have it, Jack, show it. When you slow things down and I was a player, stop it right there, it's fine. Give me a second. When you slow things down, and I remember as a player sitting in the video room, and the coach is slow in the game, well, why didn't you do this?
Starting point is 00:54:50 It's live situation and it's full speed, and you've sat in your chair, chair and watched. Pretty fucking easy. Jeez, I'm grumpy. I'm saying the F word loss. Sorry, kids. But so whether he back checks harder or not, defense 101 is get the guy from out of the goalie's eyes, is it not?
Starting point is 00:55:13 Okay, let it go. He doesn't tie him up at all. There's almost no contest. He ignores him. He's with him, but he doesn't really do anything. No, he doesn't touch him. Look it. So I'm beside you.
Starting point is 00:55:24 It is incredibly bad luck for the Oilers as well. And I'm not trying to go back. the other way. It is bad luck, but if Bouchard just pushes, I don't know who that is, Fogel out of the way, and again, it's easy when you slow it down and you watch it seven times and it's, I can play
Starting point is 00:55:42 a perfect game from right here. It'd be real good, but he doesn't do anything. And you know what? It's a very lucky goal. Edmonton's really bleeping lucky that the king's miss an empty net from inside half. Like, there's a lot of these swings in all these games.
Starting point is 00:55:58 If you give the king's, three empty net looks like they had last night, you're not coming back more than one out of ten times. Like, they got really lucky there. Kings get really lucky here. I'm curious to see what the Oilers look like in game too because they didn't have a leg to
Starting point is 00:56:14 stand on for most of that game at five on five. They really didn't. And so if you can stay out of the box and you're the Kings, I think you're the better five on five team. I know you've got the better goaltender right now. I know you've got the better blue line. All you're really trying to do is just limit the damage dry saddle and McDavid
Starting point is 00:56:30 could do five on five because no one else scares you at all on that. No one. At all. Holloway would a bit. Brogird would allow them to play some other guys a little less. You know, Fogel looked pretty good out there. Ryan McLeod instead of a prospect.
Starting point is 00:56:42 I didn't hear you. Use your first set of drafting kit 31. Like, there's some bad management here. He's, he's on a roll. I like it. He's got to stay out of the way.
Starting point is 00:56:49 Go ahead, Red. I was just because I, he didn't hear Hopkins, Ryan Nugent Hopkins name. He's a fine player, but if he's so good, why is he playing the wing?
Starting point is 00:56:58 Like, what is he? I thought he was a sound. I'm just saying like if you look at it, okay, it's not just McDavid and rice. No, it's a collection of people that don't move the needle on their own. No. If Zach Hyman has to play in a line without a superstar, he's probably fine.
Starting point is 00:57:12 He's certainly not a guy that flirts with 75 goals in the year. Okay. I just, we have this conversation every year. And I think we had it last year, too, that the guys early in a series playing too much. I think Eckholm was healthy at the time. But this does feel. feel like it's not shaping up great for the oilers. I'm trying to kind of play both sides a little bit.
Starting point is 00:57:34 Because you know that Connor and Leon missed time due to injury. Now you're without Eckholm. We've, I think we've talked about Bushart a bit here. 2820. That's ridiculous. Even, because like you said, it's Brett Kulak, 2458. Kulak was on waivers like six years ago. This, this went, you know, this is a regulation.
Starting point is 00:57:55 Anyway, there's a third pair. Game two. Big one. Whatever. Yeah, the Kings, like, learn your lesson here. This was not close at five on five. It has to stay that way. Would you do some empty net?
Starting point is 00:58:10 Some pucks, just take a bucket of pucks, drop them out the red line. Don't put a goalie. Okay, just shoot the empty net, guys. I don't know what the panic is to shoot it so soon. Like, I feel like in my brain, I remember if he had just skated. He had another stride for sure. Right? Like, and that guy's fast.
Starting point is 00:58:28 Move your ass. You can't miss there. That's the bottom line. You can't. I don't disagree. It is the game. That was your chance to slay the dragon. And you got lucky that,
Starting point is 00:58:42 you know, somehow you come out unscathed. But God, if that one slipped away and you're late in the series, you're like, how did they? You were up five. It's an odd game because you should be able to look back
Starting point is 00:58:53 and go, we controlled that game. And we were unlucky. But in a way, luck. And to all, yeah, I was just going to say, and to all the Euler fans who are in the chat, what about the other, we talked about the other games first.
Starting point is 00:59:08 It's kind of how it goes. Yeah, and this is honestly, if you want to, if you want to show the wind probability chart of like crazy things happening, this game takes the kick. Sorry. Sorry for talking about your Euler so much.
Starting point is 00:59:17 I know this is the one day you don't want to talk about it because they looked like shit last night. And with any luck, in about 10 days, we won't be talking about them at all. It'd be great. So if you're really unhappy about it, it'd be great.
Starting point is 00:59:29 And then Connor gets to talk about it. talk about negotiating about signing up and marrying this management team that's treated him so well it'll be great summer we'll see how it goes uh the uh you know where is i didn't put it in my uh apologize guys the origin uh playoff bundle the playoff pack i saw some people already yeah i updated for us i did yes i uh got to have to go find that because i update you know i did i updated my liners and i didn't put this but uh it's it's the playoffs and you know some warm weather's coming And, you know, we love the old barn burner blonde. And we love the pale ale, the afterburner pale ale. And we've got some new, there's some new merch that's available. It's a co-lop, Dean. Why don't you get them all? Get them all.
Starting point is 01:00:16 A four pack of Barnburner blonde, a four pack of afterburner pale ale, and an origin slash barn burner t-shirt. Oh, all just for $45 plus GST. It's right time of year for this. You got a t-shirt for the summer. You got two four-packs of delicious. Great shirts. Great shirts.
Starting point is 01:00:38 There you go. 45 bucks GST. Online. With a shirt. Only at the online store with, with origin. Origin brewing.ca. Stock is limited. Don't miss out.
Starting point is 01:00:51 Get on it. Get them while they last. You know, Mandipe's wearing one of those like a nighty. I hope so, yeah. Just every day. Are you wearing that again? Do you have more than one? So I guess my Monday one.
Starting point is 01:01:03 Look at this. There he is. What a legend. Man deep. Origin top selling craft beer at my shop. I had a buddy take a picture of a four pack of the blondes. And I'm looking in the background. I'm like, I think that might be BK.
Starting point is 01:01:18 I'm like, what liquor store was that? He's like, you know, the one by Winsported. I'm like, that's BK. Bochmore liquor. That's the place to go. Yeah. That's the one. I was actually talking with somebody at the playoff draft the other night.
Starting point is 01:01:32 I said, you know what? Like you guys, that barn burner blonde, that's really freaking good. It's good beer, boys. I really like it. You know what I mean? It's not that they're stunned, but they're, uh, yeah, I really like it. Thanks, man. We had a lot to do with it.
Starting point is 01:01:48 We spent a lot of time. We grew it. We mulped, we, hopped and the, uh, we farmed and yeast. Had a lot of yeast. fermenting. Yeah. Lamenting, fermenting.
Starting point is 01:02:03 Taste testing. Yeah. We did a lot of it. Yeah. I'll put it up against any blonde out there. Honestly, I know my beers a bit. I'm very,
Starting point is 01:02:11 very impressed right from the first taste. This is a very solid beer. I put it, it's the best in the city. Best blonde. Origin. Origin brewing. Dotcia.
Starting point is 01:02:19 Grab the, the playoff bundle with a barmerer. There's yeast in it, right? Did they use yeast? So, yeah. Yeah. Can you get yeast?
Starting point is 01:02:29 We were out of yeast in COVID. You couldn't find you. We were out of yeast. Everybody started doing the, better start making our own bread again. We're going to hell and a half-ask. Yeah. Uh,
Starting point is 01:02:41 I think so. That took longer than I expected. I kind of got, sorry, Bush. Cheap shots. Cheap seats. Hard to debate. Hard to debate. Gensy we can't see.
Starting point is 01:02:55 We get to the, uh, what can't it? trust in a report in a moment um conroy in the flames did there uh we talked a bit about it yesterday ryan i saw it interviews and stuff like that and sure he'll come on our show for a couple hours right uh not bad idea when the dust settles yeah sorry oh i thought maybe the dust maybe settling, eh? Maybe next week? I don't know. I'll ask. You want to let him do some pro scouting and then get out of his way and time before the draft?
Starting point is 01:03:30 I feel like May June. Yeah. Some of them run there. Come on, Craig. This is a lot of, uh, it's, it's tough conversations for teams that have not made the playoffs. Flames are one of them. What are we doing? Where are we going? What changes need to be made? Were we good enough? Are we bad enough? That, that, that whole thing is. You're staying. Who's going. Right. Another one of those teams, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Starting point is 01:03:50 They have some very good players. They have some Hall of Famers. They are getting old. or do they have young players? Oh, maybe not. They've traded away some assets in recent years to try and push on. Kyle Dubus is there, he's the general manager, is Jim, among other things. So he was, he was asked much, I would guess, a lot of the similar questions to what Craig was asked.
Starting point is 01:04:11 You didn't fit, you didn't bottom right out, but you didn't make the playoff. So what, where does that leave you? This was Dubus yesterday. I just think that there are a number of teams in the league that, you know there's two paths to go down you can go into the mass tear down rebuild um and hope you get lucky with the lottery and hope that you know all this happens but you can you can hope in one hand and shit in the other and and see which one fills up first
Starting point is 01:04:42 did not see that coming did craig say that on saturday i because i didn't see And then on the other hand, you know, because you can, you can hope that's quite a message. I don't understand. I don't get the analogy. I understand what just going to fill fat, but what am I? What does that relate to the penguins? What are we? I feel like he's probably saying that the tear down, win a draft lottery, pick high,
Starting point is 01:05:14 which is odd seeing as the success that that team has had. They're built on it. Picking high. There's a few banners in that building because they picked very high. at least that's my reason he's kind of just say well we can try to tear it down but what what's that going to do for us i feel like they're kind of already torn down in a way aren't they there's there's they're similar to the flames in some ways and they're dissimilar and others like dissimilar in a lot of ways i guess it's just let me explain like you've got a lot of your
Starting point is 01:05:41 important players are in their 30s and are not getting better that's their latang they're malcolm's still very good but we're probably not watching vintage crosbie so much as he's just a a Hall of Famer. Carlson's another. Like, that's, that's kind of part of your core. And you're trying to bridge it to all these young guys that aren't quite ready yet. That's the similarity to Calgary. The difference is that Calgary doesn't have future Hallfamers as their 30-year-olds. These guys do.
Starting point is 01:06:08 Yeah. Like, the flames don't have sit. The flames don't have even a Melkin. The flames don't have a Latang. Jack, you're a penguins guy. What fills up faster? Your hand, is it Hope or how does that work? I'm done talking Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 01:06:23 sports. Oh. Yeah. He's, uh, he wants to move the teams forever or until fall or? Yeah, they're all, they're all dead to them. Did you see the other day? People lined up for the Skeen's Bobblehead. It's a big game in Pittsburgh. Yeah. Skeen is pitching. Stud. And they lose three nothing. And it's just pain. Couldn't get a run. Couldn't get a run. And Skeens plays for them. And he's very good. And he's very good. So it's not like they had to go against them. Right now he's playing for them.
Starting point is 01:07:03 Yeah. And the draft is this Thursday. I don't want to talk about the draft. What about Dubus? What do you? What about, yeah. He hasn't done anything. Carlson just makes them worse.
Starting point is 01:07:14 He signs guys that suck. Carlson, he's been, he's talked about Carlson actually yesterday as well. I thought was interesting. I think they'll try to move him. Yeah, they try. Who wants Carlson? Well, he's got two years left and you retain some money. and there's less money owed than actual AV.
Starting point is 01:07:31 I think you could move them. It's just you might not get a lot back for them. I just don't know what you're doing if you still got Sid. That's the situation you walked into. You're going to rebuild with Sid there? I don't know. Like, what are you doing here? Malcolm's got a move.
Starting point is 01:07:44 He's never going to leave. Crosby probably wants to be a one jersey guy. I don't know why Malcolm doesn't want. Well, I don't. He said it. I don't know why either. I mean, why move if you don't, if you like where you are, I guess. It's rings.
Starting point is 01:07:55 You got three already. The quote from, Kyle Dubas because he was asked about Eric Carlson. Eric is and will forever be a polarizing figure. My view would be, we expect him to be one of the people who pulls us from where we're at into contention. I had a long meeting with them. My push would be his actions have to match his ambitions.
Starting point is 01:08:17 He showed throughout the year he has another level to him. So the piece that people are taking is his actions have to match his ambitions. So that makes sense. years that just weren't salad. Yeah, it sounds like a guy who's like, I want to win. Because he has not won. He's giving you, yeah, when you sit down for that nice long chat, he's giving you the right answers, but you're not buying the bullshit he's selling. Right. Something like that. Proof is into pudding, Dean. So would he have more shit in his hand? He's got a lot of shit in the bank. Carlson. He does got a lot of, yeah, he's got a lot in the bank. I don't know where they go. We can do.
Starting point is 01:09:01 this another day because there's there's enough going on but like what were the caps a year ago in the playoffs yeah but they I know they were good you're right like you were thinking oh god this is going to have to be there there's a big difference there like the Washington's ability to find players later in the draft
Starting point is 01:09:19 and honestly like they didn't sell sell sell first rounders to get better like Pittsburgh I'm just but you're right like it's it's a tough spot for them they walk he walks into a place it's got no system whatsoever. And it's like, oh, yeah, and Jake Gensel's up in a year
Starting point is 01:09:34 and this guy's up in two. And you got to try to win, but you're clearly not good enough to win. I don't know what you do. Sid, you know, trade doesn't want to get traded? You don't have to trade. Ovecke didn't get traded.
Starting point is 01:09:46 So you think they can win with Sid again? I mean, that's kind of what the challenges here. I don't think they can win with Sid again if Dubas is driving the bus the way he has been. He better learn from his own BS too. Like, it's, I 100% agree with him on his take. on Carlson. I've never been a big fan
Starting point is 01:10:03 of Carlson's. I think Carlson's a hell of a talent. I don't know if he's the kind of player that maybe I respect enough. I think there's a lot of look at me, I'm good. Well, you didn't like it. The move to San Jose
Starting point is 01:10:19 you weren't a fan of. No. Likewise. How's it played out? I think I hurt that one run, but they look close. What? They lose to St. Louis. Regardless, the play had dropped off and Dubescoes takes a stab at him. It's kind of like Edmonton adding Skinner to me. And I mean, they're different players and different caliber.
Starting point is 01:10:43 They had Latang, you've got Crosby, you've got Malcolm. Why do you need another power play defenseman? There's not a perfect puzzle piece there for sure. Right. Well, now you're locked in for what 11 and a half of your cap. If you had that 11 and a half off the cap, Pittsburgh is still an appealing play. for free agents to go play because Sid and Malkin are there.
Starting point is 01:11:05 Like that 11 and a half again could be used on more productive players. But just to pivot and to tie in a sponsor, I was chatting with our pal Greg at Bontan yesterday. Greg's a big flames fan and season ticket holder goes to a lot of the games. Bontan meat market tradition of quality products,
Starting point is 01:11:28 personalized service for 104 years. The finest premium. AAA Alberta beef locally raised fresh porks and chicken turkey, Alberta lamb. In-store salads and desserts and meat pies. They are the 24-year running Alberta Consumer's Choice Award winner for best Calgary, for best meat and deli, 24 straight years, 28 Crowford Circle. And as you do, you just kind of get chatting because we had played some of the Rasmus Anderson press conference stuff yesterday.
Starting point is 01:12:01 you know, he's, you know, I've been proud to be here. This is where I grew up, but I got to talk and the team's got to talk and that sort of thing. And in some ways, you don't doubt or question that he does like it here or that he would stay, but what's the likelihood with everything that kind of goes in? And it does feel like most people are on the move on from Raspas Anderson, is it this summer, is it trade deadline? But Greg was, he was kind of, so guys, 28, he'll be. 29 later this year.
Starting point is 01:12:33 30, the first year of his next and long deal. Yeah, like does, so does it have to be eight? What does it have to look like? What is the money on a Rasmus Anderson deal? He is coming off a year where he was minus 32 or whatever it was on his team. I haven't even really put much thought to it. Greg was like, so what's, what's his ass going to be? Because if you're the, just to finish, just to finish the thought is like, well,
Starting point is 01:13:01 If you're for sure, you can't re-sign them, well, what's the ass going to be? And I don't know. Is it nine? Is it eight? Is what, what is it going to be? It's almost the term scares me more than the dollars. Like, I just think if you look at most defensemen's career arcs, 30 for the next eight years, well, a lot of those, you're not even playing in the league.
Starting point is 01:13:23 And your best play is almost never after 30. Now, we saw an outlier here in Giordano, but again, that's, that is absolutely the almost my God, this almost never happens rare case. I expect just declining play from 30 to 31 to 32 to 3. You can't go pay this guy at least 37. Like that scares me more than the money. Like if he wants to play for nine, I would entertain it. But the term can't be long.
Starting point is 01:13:48 Well, it's a combination. Don't break it down. What's he want? He's going to want Max term. I don't know. Okay. So. And I don't think the flames will want to do Max term.
Starting point is 01:14:01 To your point, though, what if it's total doll? It would have to be a very low number for me to be comfortable long term. Yeah, but what's low? I'm saying, but if it's shorter term, but bigger, though, if you get to that same point, we all get it. Yeah, like if it's six times eight, I'll listen. If it's eight times eight, absolutely not. What's your, I'm only arguing just for fun.
Starting point is 01:14:24 Over the last eight years, what was the cap at eight years ago? And how much is the cap going to go? You know what I mean? I'm not, I'm not saying you're wrong, but that, that's, it's not science because you don't know. There's a pretty good pattern developing of a healthy growing cap, and we haven't seen that for a long, long time.
Starting point is 01:14:44 And they just got that new Canadian TV money that's going to kick in in two years. They're a few years away from renegotiating a U.S. TV deal. Like, the cap is going up in a big, big, big way. That's what I mean. And so that's why I would be okay with a number like six for eight years down the road, because that's going to feel like probably 4.2 does today. I think that's cheapest chips again. He's making four and a half and he's dirt cheap.
Starting point is 01:15:05 And I'm not arguing to sign. I'm just, I don't know how to calculate that. You know better than I do, but it, so it's eight times eight. Well, you're right. I don't think in eight years he's going to be as good as he is today. You got to be flying. But guess what? If the cap's gone up, if his percentage of cap remains the same over those eight years,
Starting point is 01:15:25 even with declining return on, on play, I don't know. Yeah, his percentage of cap continues to drop as the cap grows. That's the point you're making. Yes. No, I agree. And that's built into all these negotiations now because there is such aggressive cap growth. Like, I don't think the deals we've seen for comps would have happened without significant camp growth.
Starting point is 01:15:45 Like when Neil Pionk signs for what he signed for, you're like, yeah, the cap is growing. Because two years ago, you would have like said, what at that number? Everyone knows the cap's going up. And that, if you just want to look at a percentage of cap, if that's the way it seems simpler to you, sure. So be it. But I am very weary of lock. into guys into their mid and deep 30s.
Starting point is 01:16:07 I don't care who the player is. And like, so, you know, there are cases where guys age lightly. I don't know how to handicap Rasmus. I don't feel great about him pulling a Giordano and winning a Norris at 35. But he doesn't have to. And so what I'm weighing that against is it's not. What's what CIS echo? 36.
Starting point is 01:16:28 And he's hurt when they need him the most. Come on, Ryan. You can't just come on. No, I look, they need them right now. now. This is when you're older, you're more injury prone. How's that not crazy? Okay, Tannum. Tannov, I love a lot. No, he's not hurt. You can't critique him and he hasn't been hurt.
Starting point is 01:16:45 He's been waiting for him. He's playing. So is he worth it or not at 36? Like, yeah, they put them on Robben Island. The numbers way lower. I'm not saying teams don't sign guys that get old. What I'm saying is a team that is so far away from a Stanley Cup locking into a guy when they're actually going to be good. he's in the decline, that's not savvy.
Starting point is 01:17:07 Because the question isn't Rasasn't Anderson, nothing. The question is Rasmus Anderson or what he would return in trade? Because I think Rasmus Anderson would be immensely valuable a team like Toronto and to a team like Edmonton. And even to, you know, like name any of these teams still playing today. Jerome was highly valuable to a team too and you got fuck all for him. Because you waited too long. Yeah. And I don't, I'm arguing to argue, but it's not, it's what we've, we've argued about
Starting point is 01:17:34 all year. It's not as simple as one or the other. It's what you're going to get in return. So we don't know exactly what the value of the returns out there, then you sign him. And I don't care if it's eight years as long as it's not handicapping you. And I don't think if he's insane and he wants 10 a year. Okay. Well, sorry. Not happening.
Starting point is 01:17:53 The fear for me is what if he's your third best right shot defense in two years? So what? Because you just, stop, just stop. Let me finish. We get your point. what would Edmonton do to have a guy like at home to fill like you know what I mean like even if he's in your bottom pair if he's capable of stepping up for a two week or a one month playoff run you have there is value to having guys that can play no question right like it's you don't want to pay a third pair guy eight million though that's the other side right now you don't what's what was a third pair guy 10 years ago two a million and half two sure what's a third pair guy now three three like those numbers are going to change and i'm not saying it's not going to get to eight but yeah no but it might not be as far off as we imagine and
Starting point is 01:18:46 we we don't know what he wants no and we don't know what to trade value and so it's kind of comparing the blind box against the other blind box but philosophically you can understand the debate of like okay you do need some leaders you don't want to pull this team apart but you don't also want to be like okay, now's the time we've got these superstar kids coming at an entry level and need to resign them and like, what the hell is our third pair guy doing making $8 million for another four years? That scares me. I'm not saying that's going to happen, but that is your fear. And it's not crazy to think that, you know, Zane Perrek is a better right shot defenseman in a few years than him. It's not crazy. I mean, they hope he'll be that. Certainly not a guarantee,
Starting point is 01:19:25 but the pedigree and where he's drafted and what we've seen him accomplish as he's come up. And you know, I already prefer McKenzie Wigger to him. I like both. But if I have to pick and choose, I like Wiger. And you also don't have nine more years of Wigger. That's what you'll be signing up with, with Anderson. And I also really liked that Henry Mews had a great year. And Henry Brestevich is knocking on the door.
Starting point is 01:19:46 And you've got Pahal as a right shot guy already. In a universe where they're closer to winning and in a universe where the system doesn't have a bunch of righties behind him, it makes a little more sense to me to lock them up. A lot more sense. But that's not the universe they're in. And that's your take on the universe. Correct. Yeah, they might think they're Erasmus away from winning the cup. I still think they're eight days in JetFuel if they get in this year.
Starting point is 01:20:11 I mean, hope. Hope and then something else in the other. Yeah, yeah. Neil Pionk signed six times seven in Winnipeg. And I don't know where he, I don't even know if he's a comparable. But there's a guy who signed. Not max term. That would be where this has to start if I'm working for the flames.
Starting point is 01:20:38 Can't be max term. The agent's going to be in his ear saying, we can get max term July 1. And this is where it comes back to Rasmus. I love to every minute here. How much are you willing to, right? And how much is first place on a winning team? I thought the flames had a hell of a year.
Starting point is 01:20:57 But Pionk that's, it's playing on a team. and you can critique. That's where we always say as players and people, winning matters. Totally. You could be in Buffalo and attract players if you're winning. If you're winning. Yeah. And so Rasmus's belief of what Craig's building is a huge ingredient here.
Starting point is 01:21:17 If he's like, you know, we worked our tails off. I was proud of this group, but gosh, we got a long way to go. And I don't know what these kids, he's probably walking. But if he says, like, man, I'm seeing some of these kids, like, I think we can turn this quickly. That's where you get into a P. York type situation because Neil doesn't have to be convinced that the Jets are going to be competitive for this contract, does he?
Starting point is 01:21:39 Not at all. Rasmus kind of does. He's got to be convinced, but my perception of Rasmus is that he's full of confidence, which is awesome, not a criticism, just, and he's going to want what's due. He's been on a team-friendly deal? Exactly.
Starting point is 01:21:55 I think Rasmus is going, that's fine. I signed this deal and I appreciate the money. It's been, and I haven't complained and I've produced. And it's sad because in the aftermath of Kachuk and Godreau leaving, we saw some emotional moves. Like immediately you lock in Hubertow before you've seen him to huge money. It's a win for Calgary. We need to, you know, our city needs to fight back.
Starting point is 01:22:19 Very emotional. And so when you see a guy that does want to be here, the emotional move is like lock him up. It's character. He wants to be here. So many guys don't want to be. He wants to be. this has to be very measured and calculated for we can't go beyond this line or it's going to hurt our chances down the road when we hopefully are a cup contender in a new ring.
Starting point is 01:22:41 And I'm not saying they can't get it done, but I do think that Rasmus has to believe in what's going on here and understand he might leave a little on the table for this to work for the flames. Because if you have to go match the craziest July 1 offer in theory, that's not a good deal. The July 1 deals that win usually are awful deals. you know, there's a char out there, but it's a lot of Browers and Neels and, oh, my God, you paid Zadora of what and Lindholm got how many years? Like, that's the kind of deal you can't give Rasmus. And it's the kind of it's probably waiting from July 1 of 2026. I said, and we'll move on just because we're kind of, we've got a lot of, we've got time to
Starting point is 01:23:17 talk about this. I just, so is it seven million, eight million. I know it depends on term, but you see people in chat, uh, four to five years, six million. Like, he's not signing for six million. on a chance. No, four or five years. No way.
Starting point is 01:23:31 He's not signing for four or five years. And if he would, you should sign him yesterday. It's already done, yeah. I know they can't wait until July 1, but yeah. I think his ask is probably flirting with the nine, yes. Why wouldn't it? Eight, nine million.
Starting point is 01:23:45 Eight plus max term. That's what I... He considers himself a top two defenseman on any team in the league and he can play 24 minutes a night and that's the money he's going to walk. And he's saying, look, my numbers this year, like I was getting it out so you didn't have to roll more Miramano of very Hanley being than you did easy I don't do those numbers don't even matter and look what the the culture I've helped build I'm not to I would I gave you a team deal for five six years my term to get a deal yeah let's do the Pinda report it's a presentation of
Starting point is 01:24:18 village Honda they love pre-owned vehicles we were well you know we were doing we were rubbing elbows and we were hobnobbing with some of the uh village hon hon Honda Honda Honda Hondaites on Thursday. Talking about the car a lot. He's like, yeah, we got some. I don't remember they use that units. Like we talk about the wrench. This is, they have a,
Starting point is 01:24:43 they're happy with their number of units, but they're always looking for more. Pre-owned, all makes, all models, appraisals, complimentary. If you get a deal done, you'll get payment within 24 hours. And for a limited time, a cruise voucher for two. No obligation. Details now at Village Honda
Starting point is 01:24:59 Ryan Pinda, Ryan Pinda. It's a bit of port. Like a cruise out to the mountains in a Honda pilot, that kind of cruise? It's pushing the pilot, isn't he? He's really working, Anthony. This from Greg Keller just before. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:15 You do seven times seven and a half? I would. I don't think he would. Yeah. I just, I'd be very. What Hanif and get? 7.35, I believe.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Yeah. And pre-cap knowledge. And in a. Tax-friendly state. Probably kind of measures out to about eight plus. The first place, just on the cup team, cap-friendly state, sunshine, American. I would prefer to collect the young assets, but I also, I would think that's not a deal that's as cumbersome as eight times nine, obviously. And you're under, to Greg and everyone, I think everyone understand.
Starting point is 01:25:57 you have to, we'll never be told unless a trade is made. Yeah, what the option is. What is someone offering for him? I don't give a shit what the contract is. They're going to give us McDavid. Yeah, he's gone. Right? Like I don't.
Starting point is 01:26:14 I go and return, you're trading him. Yeah. And that, that's the worry is that you go through all of this and you make a trade. And it's like, ooh, it's not really. now you have to replace Rasmus Anderson and that costs money and then you got this back and trade and it's okay well your draft pick you're going to include a draft pick in the Rasmus I would suspect it's got to be a first I'm going to get a first somewhere I would think the lend home deal is a good starting point and you had better
Starting point is 01:26:47 achieve something with that first rounder I need a roster player and give me some other lottery tickets that would probably be the ask with a year last sample you're probably to get more for Anderson than the get more. Would you retain on Anderson? Sure, why not? Absolutely. Whatever gets you. That's using CapSpace. That's what you should do. Yeah, get a bigger return.
Starting point is 01:27:07 Sorry, Ryan. That's all right. Back to you. And I want to go back to you because I think, like, if we have to guess and we got all summer to forecast how it goes, but if you want to be supremely conservative, I think you bring them to camp without a deal and you see where per X at because that, you talk about replacing Anderson. That is the other thing, Chris.
Starting point is 01:27:25 he has a deal in place I don't want we're going to beat this dead horse I know we are poor guy I don't want to be the oilers though right like and maybe I'm underestimating and I've not researched and I'm not gonna
Starting point is 01:27:40 the kids coming up maybe they're better than I know of but I don't want to be the oilers where it's like oh well the last okay per X in but we got a guy hurt so now we don't have the depth to to to
Starting point is 01:27:55 carry on. That's not an approach either. Agreed. Yeah. If you, if you were to trade Rasmus this summer, I think you'd be shopping for a veteran defenseman and for agency, just with much smaller term and numbers. Back to, right. Anyway, back to this nonsense. Okay, let's get Flamstation.com. By the way, I think we missed a joke about Anthony's unit. So someone's going to assert that out later. What? Great unit count on the law. Okay, let's move. Flamesation.com. Let's go out with lots of prospects still playing. Oh, see, I'll just read this. And I'll just read this.
Starting point is 01:28:25 I'll have it all. There you go. Look at that, Dean. There's lots of prospects still playing. Axel Hurtig of the Hitman. You've got Eric Jameson. And also tonight at Game 7 as well for a guy we, We've hardly talked about who's had an incredible season, Jacob Bataglia. We'll get to some of that in a moment. More prospect stuff up on Flamesnation.ca. It is kind of that weird spot of the season, Dean, or it's not quite like draft talk and it's not free agency.
Starting point is 01:28:55 and they're not in the playoffs and the exit meetings are done. So they're coming up with all kinds of articles to things to talk about. Let's see what else says we're working on here. A flame from the past, Clark Wilm. That's where we are in the flames news cycle, boys. A flame from the past. Do you remember? Clark Wilm.
Starting point is 01:29:15 You know how much you remember him? Here's a stock photo of the crowd. We don't even have a picture of him. Whereas I thought it was going to have the Wilm you suck. Yeah. It's beautiful. We never did get an update on that. by the way. I don't know that it happened.
Starting point is 01:29:26 Can you read us the lead sentence? Very important as a writer, Rhett, to get your lead sentence. Got to hook someone in. Do you remember Clark Willem? Question mark. Do you remember Clark Willem? Brett, do you remember Clark Willem? I do remember Clark Willam. It's too bad he didn't come.
Starting point is 01:29:44 He was saying. Sad he had to miss your roast. Anyway, more simulating writing over station. There's a heart and solar he would have back check the hell out of that that part. That's right. That's right. Rangler still playing the fellas. In fact,
Starting point is 01:30:02 they've got a playoff matchup set the battle in the valley. Which valley? Yeah. Coachella Valley. Look at the pomp trees in the background. It is the best of three. All three, if necessary, from
Starting point is 01:30:18 the Hubeido arena. Right. Yeah. It's a good spot. I've heard good things. I've been there. It's a love there. Have you been there? Cold as hell, yeah. That's what they say, real cold. Very, very cool.
Starting point is 01:30:30 Well, it's 45 degrees outside. Sunday. Yeah. So you play game one, then a lot of time before potentially a back-to-back. Chelle Val has been very good. I believe they've gone to the last two HL finals representing the West. They've also graduated some guys to Seattle as well. Shane Wright was playing there last year that Eamon, Nyman.
Starting point is 01:30:49 He was just recently called. Good team. Two good teams. Good luck. And the minors are good. Now, here's the thing. they're getting some recharges uh like clavka's going to go down they got some flames coming dean that's going to help right yeah but how about secret weapon trent cole returning oh yeah without his mustache
Starting point is 01:31:07 i don't know i was what bro bro trend boo is it is it powers is it a playoff thing like you shave and then you're not shaving again i know you don't shave in the playoffs yeah what man that this better work Trent. Right. Call, uh, Trent to see what the, can you call him on there? You gotta get Trent on it.
Starting point is 01:31:31 You have to get Trent on. He hates us. He's going to love us. He will love us. Yeah. Because we love him. Yep. And if he doesn't love us,
Starting point is 01:31:39 well, he's going to have to grow that at least start growing that dust. Yeah, I don't want him on till the stashes back. Yeah, he's got to get into proper form, obviously. What a great duster that was. Teas. I mean, moment of silence. Weather looks all right.
Starting point is 01:31:52 Say that. That's it. You're not going an advertor to get. Socked in by rain for a week. Does it? There's a nice light dusting of snow this morning here. You're not going to want your high socks if you just want to go with the ankle socks. What are those purple and pink flowers they got there?
Starting point is 01:32:07 Oh, gosh. Hydrangeous. Salians. Looks all right. Good luck to the Wrangolia. Let's throw back up that schedule. Just so we can sit it in. The old rangolinos.
Starting point is 01:32:21 Here's my concern, Dean. Uh-oh. See that schedule? there yeah Tuesday April 22nd that's today by my math the 23rd 24th 25th that's three days in between games a lot of time down it's a lot of time don't get a sunburn there's the surf club where they have this fake wave you can go and the heart don't get a sunburn I don't bringin the chips out for the guac oh when you get when that rash you get your flaking skin off your shoulder blades it's hard to put the juice
Starting point is 01:32:54 to do, yeah. Shoulder pads on. I hope we got a nice pool at the place, though. Oh. Win game one, fellas. There's your advice. Well, they do. And remember, game two is their home game.
Starting point is 01:33:08 Even though it's there. Get us tickets, Steve? How quick can we get there? And all the flights are full coming back right now, because it's the end of, uh, oh, yeah, the hair season. It's getting too hot.
Starting point is 01:33:22 easy to get rounds let's go how do you get to kachela valley you fly to palm springs it's a direct flight and then you're there that's it easy airport oh the margaritas jack the guac i heard i heard everybody's done with that to them going down there nobody's they're all selling everyone's selling their vacation halls you're damn right dean you can't be crossing that border now they're tired of all the warm weather so they let the wranglers in i i guess okay keep moving I don't know what I don't know what call's doing. Yeah. Good to see him back though. Come on.
Starting point is 01:33:58 He's hitting hand at the wheel, eh? Yeah. Yeah. Last night, NHL, let's get to it. Those are flamesy things. So we're moving away from that now. Talked about these four one goal games. Best night of the playoffs so far.
Starting point is 01:34:10 Big bangers all over. Two overtimes. Nearly a third you love to see it. All four of these games could very easily go out of overtime. Although it did look at 5-2 like that was not close. in the Kings smarten up, hit the empty net. The bracket, take a peek at that, show you where we're at. Some of these series way ahead of the others, to your point, Dean, the Jets,
Starting point is 01:34:30 already switching scenes to St. Louis, haven't dropped the puck between the Panthers and the lightning yet. That'll finally happen tonight. Well, they should have lots of energy, right, right? They really should have a lot of energy. We did have some highlights from last night. Jeff Skinner, they got this still photo. Now the second goal, he has to go post to post.
Starting point is 01:34:49 first one no chance guzmanco steward skinner sorry jeb does i say jeff yeah stewart the goalie uh there he is going post to post oh dear matri from the top row oh skin float tough cam one my buddy oh oh yeah we are going to have uh we showed you the harmonicas we don't need to do that again tonight's action we'll flip through them one by one but first the full slate that the Skinner help, but I can't, I fall on. I can't get up joke. No, okay. Fine, be that way. Cains looked way better than the Devils last they played.
Starting point is 01:35:30 That's game two in Rally. They were pissed off about a matinee afternoon game, not the evening. They'll get their evening tonight. Should be rowdy. Leaf Sends round two. This was a fun one. Sends run disciplined.
Starting point is 01:35:42 First battle of Florida, each of the last five years, one of these two teams has been in the Cup final boys. That is who has represented these. Those two teams, They finally drop the puck tonight. And the wild and golden nights. Big boy hockey tonight is very late puck drop.
Starting point is 01:35:57 Nine Mountain. Buckle up, Dino. I can't wait. Vegas. They'll be up by then, hey? Put yourself to bed after dinner and wake up up for the third there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:08 After second nap. Right. So let's get a little closer looking to each of them. First, New Jersey and Carolina. Matters going from bad to worse for the devils. Brendan Dylan left the game. Wanted to come back. Doctors wouldn't let him.
Starting point is 01:36:24 Luke Hughes will not go tonight. Neither will Dylan. That brings in Simon Nemich. And who's the other fellow there? Dennis Chila. That guy sounds like he's from your neck of the woods, Dean. He's a Chloak Bruin. What was he?
Starting point is 01:36:41 Choloski. Chola. That was fact to it. When the wings gave Datsuts, its contract to the coyotes because they needed the cap space. They traded back in the first round and drafted. Cholo, Cholo, Cholos, Chol.
Starting point is 01:36:56 Chol, Chol. And it was Jacob Chikrin that the coyotes selected. That was a trade back from the wings. Ouch. There's game two. Jarvis, be good. Jesper, love you, buddy. Tough, tough sled.
Starting point is 01:37:11 Devils look cooked here. I need to see something different before I changed my mind. No? It's one game, but they just like so close. One game, but they're so beat up. Yeah. Nobody looked worse in their only game than through one game than these guys. We'll see if it gets any better tonight.
Starting point is 01:37:27 Well, that's my team in my brother's boozy playoff draft, so I'm feeling confident. The Devils? Gross. Yeah. Sorry about your luck. I actually have. Do I have something that I could run for that? Probably do, eh?
Starting point is 01:37:42 Gross. Yeah. Next one, second game of the night is Ottawa, Toronto. this one is a 530 start local time game one was pretty fun and the Sends they have to adjust leaps look like a team that had been in the playoffs a lot first playoff game for many of those young senators if not all the young senators got some news in this series too Travis Hamanick I didn't know he was playing noted one guy away trade that stung badly uh will slide into the ends lineup playing with Thomas Shabbat.
Starting point is 01:38:17 Man, that's a bad deal. You know, Dobson was the pick to give to the island? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, shit me in the face. Other series, Florida, Tampa, can't wait. Again, just two of the best teams on planet Earth. I think people are sleeping on Florida bit, fellas, just given that they really haven't run with a full crew for a long time.
Starting point is 01:38:35 What is it? Two games, Eklad's going to miss for that suspension. Then he's eligible to come back. And it should be Marsha, and Kach and, you know, Arca. on the lightning. I think both these teams can win the cup. I really do.
Starting point is 01:38:48 This is going to be a great series. Calling it, it's the best series around one. That's my prediction for you. Finally, the nightcap, late, late. It's a party at 11 Eastern. Oh, 11 Eastern. It's got to be the latest start time in initial history. You know what our luck's going to be?
Starting point is 01:39:05 Triple overtime as well. Let's go. Boldie and Stone. Prezolve was electric in game one. They've got to find another line that can score for them. and Vegas is good. They know what they're doing this time of here. How excited are we for the slate, fellas?
Starting point is 01:39:18 Another four gamer. Game one, not at all. Okay. Game two, yes. Yeah. Game three, yes. Yes. Game four, not at all.
Starting point is 01:39:27 So it's a good game sandwich. I concur. Yeah, I concur. I'm more of a night owl, so I've got some intrigue on the wild and the Vegas's. But those two middle games are the best rivalries, for sure. Calgary Hitman interaction tomorrow. Fellas, we got a game seven.
Starting point is 01:39:42 It's game seven alert. Got to get down to the dome. It's in Calgary. Gavin McKenna and the Medicine Net Tigers are waiting in round three. One of Lethbridge or Calgary will play them. Settle down Lethbridge. Thank you, Ryan. 7 p.m. tomorrow night at the dome.
Starting point is 01:39:58 Well, I don't know, Ryan. I heard it's expensive. No, it's not. They got a sale going on right now. 25 bucks for an out of ticket. There you go. Get your ass. Use the code social.
Starting point is 01:40:10 Get down there. Support your headman. We need McKenna for. best of seven. They go to Lethbridge. It's sold out. Yes. Don't settle down there,
Starting point is 01:40:19 Lathbridge. That's fine. We love you supporting you. Yeah, whatever. Lethbridge. It's just for it. Just want good hockey. Settle up.
Starting point is 01:40:24 Settle up, Calgary. Medicine hats through. And another game seven happening on the other side. Silver tips in Portland winter hawks. Cool. That will be in Everett, I guess. I would assume so. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:41 Other junior hockey, notes. We got a huge game seven. Oh, no, you know what? We do this first. So here's the thing about this Gavin McKenna kid. He has a 49 game point streak with 123 points. Yeah, but it's not the longest point streak ever. Oh, you're
Starting point is 01:40:58 right. When Alexander Radulov was two years clear of his draft, he had 120 points in 50 games. This guy's not even draft eligible this year. 49 games, 123 points. McKana. Oh. I'd be worried about all this time off.
Starting point is 01:41:16 I'd just be. Yeah. Yeah. I'm worried about them beating Leithbert's tonight so we can watch. That's five, five point per game pace could take a real hit. O'Epressive stuff. To the O'HO we go, Jacob Patagli, had a monster of yours, fellas, believe second rounder for the flames.
Starting point is 01:41:33 Last summer's draft, this draft class has been sensational. It is game seven between Kingston and Barry. He and the playoffs, three goals, 13. helpers for 16 points in 10 games. Look at this helper he had on the weekend. I want to have to tell you who he is because you're going to see the play and go, oh my God. There's spectacular behind the back, drawing defenders towards him. Big, strong, can score 40 goals and 50 helpers this year in 68 games. Another guy. Good player. Big body. System's getting full boys. I love it. Warner Whiteboard. don't have time so much to get to so much it's right it's my fault and Matt Vey Gridden his Schoenigan team's already
Starting point is 01:42:20 waiting in the semi-final to get started in the queue so a lot of prospects still going for the phone's at least six still in action I missed the end of the show yesterday Dean did it go a little something like maybe you said I mean I wasn't here you know I don't you missed a lot
Starting point is 01:42:36 yeah there was probably I think we had talked about all we were going to we had kind of checked off all the things we wanted to get to right um and yeah i just uh you know i didn't dilly dally at the end of the show it was just kind of time to yeah yeah we hit the thing and said see you buddies and that was yeah i'd normally ret's like oh i'm hungry and then you drag things on for like another half hour and you're like know what did that didn't happen yes well i'm there maybe did have to uh i had told the boys i uh i just need to stop eating yogurt i think and maybe just certain dairy products
Starting point is 01:43:14 as it doesn't. I had to go shit. You're not alone, not alone. It happens to even the best in the business. About Kauai is, you know, you're right,
Starting point is 01:43:30 Big fella? You're going to catch it a crap. Go ahead. Keep talking, Jeff. Yeah, we're on TV. I know what we're doing. Go ahead. Yeah, that's that olive oil you've been drinking.
Starting point is 01:43:39 I know. Hey, take some matches with you. Hey, listen, he couldn't hold it. He can't hold it. After 40, you can't hold it no more. It's at first. Unless he's got something. That wasn't something planned, was it?
Starting point is 01:43:55 No, not a plan. Hey, listen, he was in the back talking about he was to drink alcohol or clear up his gut. No, no, he's been drinking the olive oil. You know what? Olive oil and clean his gut. It's cleaning his gut. I did not like his gait as he laughed. That was not a typical walk right there.
Starting point is 01:44:11 He's been drinking. He says he read somewhere if you drink a shot of olive, I saw them doing that the other day in the makeup room. They've been doing it. They're going to do it for two weeks. You're going to do it for two weeks. He's going to miss a lot of air time then. Hey, listen.
Starting point is 01:44:30 He reminds, oh, here we're here. Here we're here. I see that. I can feel it. Now he's left there. There was the gate. There is like, number one, drinking that water. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:44:45 Hey, listen, man. Drinking that water. You couldn't. that water, huh? Stop talking so damn much. Finish your points so we can go to break. We wait on you, fool.
Starting point is 01:44:57 I'm sitting here like, shut the hell up and hurry up. Sorry about that, America. Hey, who do? Me and Shaq. Kendron spirits. Two peas in the pot.
Starting point is 01:45:15 Beautiful stuff. Hey, Shaq. Shaq's some Shaq's beauty. Lickshack. Sorry, Erica. Probably sorry to the cleaning staff, too, perhaps on that one. Yeah, I hope nothing's clogged there. This coming in overseas, there's a new way to declogue your drains.
Starting point is 01:45:34 Let's take a look at this here. Glad your toe wasn't over that. Look at that. Perfect, red. Drained immediately. Ooh. A couple bucks. It's a problem.
Starting point is 01:45:52 I need a plumber. I'm going to have to call Crystal Waters and ask if this. Well, do we know that that? isn't crystal waters is that uh i haven't seen them with that trick but they're probably aware there's a very loud bang is everything okay yeah that's fine uh check out this cool video of a car doing a cool jump it's like no out of here oh oh you might be dead is that AI or is that you might be dead not ideal there's actually he's alive There is.
Starting point is 01:46:32 That's not what you want to do. I'm sorry. I don't know. Nope. Nadine, you decided not to leave your house today. I get it. You guys,
Starting point is 01:46:40 hey, Ryan, you were in a shelter about having dinner. We got to say, and you don't leave the house. I understand. Sometimes you don't want to leave it.
Starting point is 01:46:49 It's me at home in Florida. This is horrifying. Can you imagine just hear something earlier? I'll just go see what's out there. Your friggin' doorbell cam goes off. Was it Amazon? No. God.
Starting point is 01:47:05 Two of them. Say iron is this real. Yeah. You can watch this. That's, that looks. That's the sound of claws at my front door. Lovely. The gators are here, honey.
Starting point is 01:47:22 I'll tell you what, I know. I think I'd prefer that to some of the people that have been coming to my door. Okay. Do you know there's an election happening? Can we count on your vote? Finally, I believe we had down under for this. I've actually been to this very spot of the interview. This is in downtown Brisbane by the huge Ferris wheel
Starting point is 01:47:40 with that fancy new bridge in the background with a pretty awesome casino and behind there. And this is the seven news station. Let's see what's making news in Australia. Witnesses are recounting some of the drama that unfolded on the Sunshine Coast this afternoon. Two sisters have told how their mother and man raced to help when the carjacked SUV rolled on Steve Irwin way
Starting point is 01:48:02 only to find the gunwilding car thief emerging from the wreck. Here's some of what they had to say. And one guy, he was up there with our mum and he went up there and he was coming back down towards us and he goes, run, he's got a gun. And oh, our heart started a pound and I said, oh, mum, where's mum? And poor mum was stuck up there, but apparently our brave mum, She goes, are you all right? Because he had all blood on his face. And he goes, I'll shoot you.
Starting point is 01:48:40 She goes, hey, I'm here to hell. And I'm just struggling. That's not happening. And he looked the other way. And mom ran into the bush behind the fence. And the guy goes to a guy, Jack is probably not. Thank you very much. Hey, rat.
Starting point is 01:49:02 I've got some bad news and I've got some good news. I'm going to give you the good news first. I've set you up with a couple of Aussie blonde twins. I'm going to hold off on the bad news. I'll tell you later. Really? Both of them are blonde? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:27 Twins? Yeah. That's your pinned report on a Tuesday, fellas. Village Honda, located in the Northwest Ottawa and online at villagehonda.com. the Honda pilot. Solid. Solid vehicle. We designed a couple years ago.
Starting point is 01:49:47 We were there for the old, they did one of those things. You were quite impressed. You sort of said this little boxy, your little muscle either. Yeah, I like the, you know what?
Starting point is 01:50:00 I think the, stout. Yeah. Sturdy. Sturdy. Strong. I want to tell you about the service Big Share contest because it is
Starting point is 01:50:12 near a completion. That's right. April 30th, 2025 is when the contest ends. Skill test required for rules, visit service.com. What is it? Well, service credit union, big share contest. It's your chance to win a million dollars just by saving money. Anyone can enter. You just become a member and start saving with service credit union.
Starting point is 01:50:30 Every $500 that you save gives you five entries into the contest. You can set up your paycheck for automatic deposit. Bonus entries. Double your entries. When you get into a registered account, like a TFSA or RSP, maybe a GIC. It's all good. And you know, you're saving money,
Starting point is 01:50:49 which is also I'm told very good. I don't do a lot of it. Yeah, if you stop buying shit. Yeah. That's saving. Service.c.a slash win. It's the service big share contest. That's crazy how time flies, right?
Starting point is 01:51:04 Because we, uh, April 30th, 20th, that's long ways away. It's time now. It isn't, guys. It really isn't. Not anymore. uh boy it's it's we can do it tomorrow it's not jim rutherford was talking about things
Starting point is 01:51:22 i don't uh we used to make crazy old man jim rutherford jokes like 15 years ago it seems like yeah we thought he was old than crazy then because we learned that rick talk it has a year left on his contract but team option team option which not up the option he's not up the option he's extend them but then he's like well I'm gonna need this on the money you're gonna extend me and these guys over here probably more than that yeah so
Starting point is 01:51:51 so there's that and he was also asked about Quinn Hughes who I get I don't even know what the context would be here but interesting to hear Jim Rutherford yesterday
Starting point is 01:52:06 fell down to money with him you know he said before he wants to play with his brothers and that would be partly out of our control, in our control, if we brought his brothers here. So there's many moving parts here, agree 100%. This franchise cannot afford to lose a guy like Quinn Hughes, and we will do everything we can to keep him here, but at the end of the day, it'll be, it'll be his decision. Well, we've got to be careful with tampering here.
Starting point is 01:52:46 So we'll just leave it at that. Did Jack pause it there or did he just free? That's awkward. And you know that Alvin is just sitting there a bit, oh my God. What is he doing? It costs us a draft pick with those stupid words. What are you doing right now? it's partly in our control if we'd go trade for them.
Starting point is 01:53:13 So that Luke and Jack Hughes to Vancouver deal, get ready for it. Hey, Vancouver, they pulled off. They got twins, not those blonde ones, but they got another set of twins by trade one time. Could happen. Those blondes are mine. What the else? I don't even know if there's much to react to.
Starting point is 01:53:34 No, that could have been a clip at the end of the Pindor report. You're right. That just could have been a comedy kicker. When you get drunk and do an interview. He's going to come down to money. Here's Joe Rutherford. It's partly in our control, partly not in our control. Basically said, yeah, you know, we had a really, really massive incident
Starting point is 01:53:57 between two of our players and we had to move one of them. And that really was, you know, that's taken us from a contender into a team that's got to figure some things out. You're like, well, that's very transparent. Yeah. And like he was asked about talking. You're like, this guy,
Starting point is 01:54:11 someone gave this guy the truth serum. Wow. I kind of like it, but it's like, I do too. Less is more sometimes, Jimmy. The problem is we'll be able to talk about him getting shit can tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:54:20 So it'll be good. Yeah. And you know, again, hypocritical. People never say anything. We bitch that people that then they do. That's not hypocritical.
Starting point is 01:54:28 You're not allowed to say that sort of things. That is tamper. You cannot talk about adding other players like that. Uh, we could do our, Bet 365. Let's get into it. You'll want to get in on the action for the Stanley Cup playoffs at Bet 365. They got you from game props, player props, totals in the money line.
Starting point is 01:54:47 You can even bet futures like series winners, conference champions, the Stanley Cup champions, and much, much more. Whatever your bet is, it's never ordinary at Bet 365. Download the app and get in on the game. An official partner of the Stanley Cup playoffs must be 19 or older. Lots of games tonight. Lots of games. So go ahead.
Starting point is 01:55:10 We can look at the slate of games. We have those odds as well. I like how they have the middle name in Aho. There's two Sebastian Aho. They're not going to try to hoodwink you into the wrong one. This is Sebastian and Taro Aho. Held off the score sheet in game one. Seth Jarvis.
Starting point is 01:55:25 He gets a point as well. A little parlay. Boost that to plus 1,25. Two things likely to happen. Put them together. Plus, my God, a lot. And the canes were much better than the devils. And the devils are limping in more than they even were into game one.
Starting point is 01:55:38 subtract Dylan, subtract. Who else was out today? Hughes. Luke Hughes, that's right. They're now without both of their Hughes. It's packing his shit. So I'm loading up on the Carolina angle tonight on bet, three, six, five.
Starting point is 01:55:54 You don't have to. There's all kinds of other things you can do. Check out the slate here. Leefs heavy favorites at home, not nearly as big as Carolina, but favorites. Almost a pickum between Florida and Tampa. Very, very close there. and the Golden Knights minus 240, very heavy favorites at home to Minnesota after winning game one.
Starting point is 01:56:13 You can also bet, as you heard in Dean's read about the series outcomes. This gets updated every morning as the series change. It shows you you're going to make a lot of money if the devil's come back to when you bet on them. Also shows not very likely. Every single series, all eight of them right there. Some significant ones. Again, Florida Tampa hasn't started yet, so I get that those numbers are pretty even. but if you're up if you're up one nothing they like you here they really do
Starting point is 01:56:38 edmonton uh plus 175 after last night's loss they also like you up if you're up to nothing apparently they really like you if you're up to nothing how those jets there uh minus 200 yeah not a lot of value left there dean i hope you got on yesterday yeah there you go there you have it bet 365 download the app and get in the game with bet 365 And unlike yesterday, maybe it's, maybe it's Pinder. Maybe people, maybe with, uh, with Pinder back, people are a little more generous. People are feeling it today because, uh, we do. We've got some super chats for you.
Starting point is 01:57:19 That's right. Proceeds for the super chat. Go to the youth centers of Calgary. Making a difference. Help it out. Some kids in our community. And to do so, we take the donations that you folks make on the chat. then we take your comments and we put them on the show.
Starting point is 01:57:36 From Ride Star 17, Bouchard Clown is the most phantom good NHL defenseman maybe ever. Rhett, how many points could Prime you get with those two aliens and opportunities? 50, 80, hashtag LA in 5. Prime me still is not getting on the ice way. Prime you?
Starting point is 01:57:57 No, no. I almost had 21 year in Buffalo. Really? Goals? and they're talking about assists i barely had 20 19 points right he's a distributor right points got it prime you maybe 30 we need to we need to remember that what about prime you how would prime you do there yeah yeah and there's many different layers of prime you on and off the ice prime you that's a good point was a real performer he was pretty primed on uh primed on uh primed on
Starting point is 01:58:34 Thursday night, wasn't he? It was Prime You on Thursday. I did good. I thought it was very good. People, if they were signing up to hear Rett tell some stories and get some laughs, they were very, very happy. I thought it was great. I enjoyed it a great deal.
Starting point is 01:58:51 I said that yesterday, that this is, that was, you just kind of got on the, and slow me down. You got on the, on the podium there, just kind of settled in. The tough thing was, is people kept trying to buy you drinks. Yeah, it was too, Oh, full of glasses of booze. And I just had to.
Starting point is 01:59:07 Hey, everybody. But here's, here's the thing. Bad news. Sebastian. In 10 minutes. So you only got 15 more minutes to buy me a drink. Why did you buy me this full glass of vodka? It's a triple.
Starting point is 01:59:25 It's a triple. Oh, it really tastes like a double. Hell of a night. Hell of a night. Thank you, right. Star. Bullock. Racing 20 beans.
Starting point is 01:59:36 Great show, Jens. Wife and in-laws are coiler fans. I'm happy for a king's win, but I'm afraid the Oilers may get one. Is it better to watch an Oilers win with the family or walk out to my pasture and get hoofed in the pecker? Hooft in the pecker. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:59:53 It's one hell of a question. Yeah. I'm not sure that I've, I can't speak from experience. I've seen an Oilers victory, not so much the hoofed in the pecker. Yeah. And if you're all alone out there to get hoofed in the pecker.
Starting point is 02:00:08 Well, I'll tell you what, you go back last to, it's spring game seven i'd have taken a hoof to the pecker didn't have to in the end good on the panthers for doing that but just get some fresh air out there you're all by yourself yeah we need more of this bullock thanks for the yeah thanks for a lot thanks pierre yeah thanks in a long way uh tanner sorkin Brett love the hat uh where do we get just been asking about every single show every clip with Brett wearing that hat people ask it really Can we just make, remake that? Yeah, we should steal their idea.
Starting point is 02:00:44 The manufacturer can cut us in. Let's go. I just put like a Barnburner logo. I don't know what the proper thing to do here is give them the name or. Do not. Let's extort the guys that made it as first. Duke. St. O-O-K.
Starting point is 02:01:00 All right. And I don't know where I got. But that's what it says on. Great. It does see that. Anyway. I think we can all see it. Unless,
Starting point is 02:01:11 unless, unfortunately, you're listening to the podcast. I just gave you the spelling. Jesus. Come on, no, I met the hat.
Starting point is 02:01:19 What people are saying, they like the hat. I'm just listening. They don't know what you're going on. Thanks, Tanner. All right. I'm moving on.
Starting point is 02:01:26 Ken, come on, boomer. Be a professional. Pinder dropped a deuce on air. He's all in. Oh, by the way, fix the curve on the bill of your cap,
Starting point is 02:01:35 Pender. Now, that was, uh, was it, dropping a deuce or because that was an afterburner, I believe. We don't talk about that show, Dean. I've been chatting with the good folks at McLeod Law.
Starting point is 02:01:50 Oh, I see. We'll move on at this juncture. Litigator of the year. How about those Panthers? Litigator of the year. There you go. That's it, right? Is there more?
Starting point is 02:02:00 That's it. That's all. That's all. That's all. Thank you for the donations. We get it to the youth centers of Calgary. I believe I'm away the rest of the week. what's this road trip?
Starting point is 02:02:14 Yeah, this is BS. There is, I don't even know what it is. It's my daughter and a friend. They got, we need to go and see it. I'm not even, Storniolo triplets.
Starting point is 02:02:29 I think is, we've had twins, now we're doing triplets. It's these YouTubers. I don't know if this is like Jake and Logan Paul or what this is, but they are very excited. we're going to Montana tomorrow.
Starting point is 02:02:45 How far, how long is it to, how far is the drive to Toronto, dad? It's too far, honey. We're not driving to Toronto. We're not going to Toronto. What's up? Well, the hoop-de-do twins or whatever
Starting point is 02:02:58 are doing a thing. So, um, as it turns out, they are doing, and I don't know, do they sing, do they dance? Is it comedy? Is it? Ask, what do they do? I have no idea. Right.
Starting point is 02:03:10 Yeah. I'm going to have to figure it out before I go to cross the border because they'll ask me. I'm like, I don't know what it is. No, no, they'll look at you like you're a dumb dad, just doing what you're supposed to. He doesn't have a clue with these guys. He's being told what to do. It's not his fault. Carry on.
Starting point is 02:03:25 He actually runs the family. So the good news is, because they, they've got the gold level seats or whatever with the meet and greet. Oh. If a parent or if an adult wants. to accompany the kids, you don't need to have paid for the gold ticket. Just the regular ticket will do. So I have a regular, I saved a little money there on getting the regular ticket. So I get to go to the meet and greet as well, even though I didn't pay.
Starting point is 02:03:55 Well, then you can write it off as a business expense. So we can talk to a live, live stream it. It'll be great. We're looking forward to it, Dean. Part of me is just kind of, I've kept myself in the dark just because I don't know what I'm in for. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Maybe they're very. It won't, Dean.
Starting point is 02:04:10 Funny or. I do like keeping expectations low, but it also doesn't mean they're going to get busted. Yeah. And then back. And then it looks like there's a Manitoba trip later this week in my plan. Yeah, we get to game five Friday night, right?
Starting point is 02:04:30 Who, I'll check in. I'll check in from the road. I'll keep you guys up to speed on how it's going. The misery, quite honestly is what's going to happen. There's going to be some tomorrow. Darren Drager tomorrow.
Starting point is 02:04:44 Nice. Drag's got a very busy guy. And so then Jamie McClennan, he will move either Thursday or Friday. We're going to try for Friday. But a Friday because the Sends play Thursday, if we can't. We're going to hope. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:04:55 The day after Sends play, he's going to be awesome. Obviously the team he covers on TSN, doing the color and such. Yeah. We're going to hope that's the case. So Dregs tomorrow and, and, uh, and, I mean, drags tomorrow and know me. You're welcome.
Starting point is 02:05:09 Tune in. Barnberger. And four more games to talk about. Last day was unreal. I know. Yeah, I know. Good stuff. Nice, would you?
Starting point is 02:05:18 All right. All right. We got one more super chat. Oh. So I have to play the horn. Wouldn't totally buy a BB remake. That's Tanner talking about the hat. The 279, Tanner.
Starting point is 02:05:33 I think he's probably saying that he would. Right? With the exclamation point. Does that? Wouldn't totally. There's some misspelling. That's not your fault. Would totally buy one or wouldn't?
Starting point is 02:05:48 Maybe another three bucks. We'll sort it out. Yeah, we'll deal with that tomorrow. Yeah. Jack, how was the show today? Very good. Well done. Rhett, great job on the whiteboards.
Starting point is 02:06:01 Yeah. Don't be my swearing in those stupid clips. I don't make the clips. Four F bombs. Well, send a note to our, whoever does it. It's almost the fifth. See you, buddies.
