Starting point is 00:02:05 yeah I'm a little nervous Rets never late the thing about hockey players is if they're 10 minutes early they're five minutes late Like if the bus leaves at 10, no one's wheeling in at 9.59, you're going to get scolded. He's always, he might be hung over, he might be a bag of Richards, but he's always here. He's never early. He's never late. He's always on time.
Starting point is 00:02:24 He's always here. Yeah. So we'll see. It's kind of, you know, it's weird. A little weird. Maybe he's so excited about that Sabres win last night. Another big win. Lost for Vegas moves that maybe that Vegas pick keeps crawling higher and higher for the flames. Vegas, there's Buffalo, the tops and the, I mean, Could be morning skate for Tyson Gross. I know he's excited. Maybe he's at morning skate.
Starting point is 00:02:53 It's got to be a morning skate. Yeah. Making his rounds. Maybe he's, yeah. Never thought of that, did we? No. Well, just now. We assume, well, he must be hung over or drunk.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Or maybe he's down a Saddle Dome Riseway place. Getting some pregame for us. He'll be joining us live from the bowels of the dome. We do look forward to that. Our usual Wednesday guest. I, geez, I hope he's here. Noodles. He's also.
Starting point is 00:03:20 player that's always on time. Always on time. To set your watch to. Always on time. Countable. That's right. Formative entertaining. We'll get to him in a moment.
Starting point is 00:03:27 It's GMC. Truck Month. Want you to know that because it's truck month and it's GMC, it's your opportunity to get a 2026 Sierra 500 Pro Graphite crew cab at 0% financing for 72 months. You're getting a 2 inch factory lift
Starting point is 00:03:40 off road suspension, powerful 5.3 liter V8 engine and a commanding presence that demands attention. Hurry in. Go see the Sierra 500 Prographite crew cab in person, appreciate it. Soak it all in, bathe in its beauty, and take advantage of truck
Starting point is 00:03:56 month before it ends as we go to the insider hotline. We'll get his thoughts on everything. Yeah, good. This is kind of why we bring them on, but in general. Got a great insights. That's where we come on. A presentation of our good friends over at Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating, crystal clear calgary.com.
Starting point is 00:04:13 They want to be the heart of your, the mechanical heartbeat of your home. They're your guardians. Hot water, cold air, hot air, everything that's going on in there. Plus, I'm garage heaters. You don't want to get cocky because it's March and we know how spring rolls here. But if you are thinking about AC this summer. Or if you were thinking, well, the cold weather's done. Well, you're wrong there, too.
Starting point is 00:04:32 I guess if you can go out of the way. We're done with the furnace. We don't need to worry about that this year. Smart enough. Don't be silly. Crystal waters, plumbing and heating. Crystal Clearcallegri.com to the insider hotline. We go and say good day to Jamie Noodle's McClennett. Hello, noodles. How you doing? What's going on today? well we're we're not sure where our buddy is dismissing
Starting point is 00:04:53 yeah what happens I mean but it doesn't though that's the thing like I he'll be like I'm not going today or like the we sneak attack him for his 50th with some of his drinking buddies and at 1158 p.m he's like find a new co-host we always get the warning
Starting point is 00:05:13 yeah I won't signal the bat light goes out and it's like okay red's either going to be hung over or not around tomorrow. But just dark? Dark. Yeah. I'll be fishing. We've put out the signal, though.
Starting point is 00:05:26 He's fasting and passed out from not eating. He fasted on Monday. He ate yesterday, but he had a little tickle yesterday. He was, you know, the whole fasting thing. He comes in, and he cooked the goose in the weekend. Two nights in a row for now. He got into it and then wasn't eating and then was feeling like he was getting sick or something. Then he was housing beef jerky, the incredible rate, Harry.
Starting point is 00:05:50 He had a lot of beef jerky. Yeah. Beef jerky will do it. Maybe he's Harry done on the toilet. You never know. David. Could be. He used to be calling in.
Starting point is 00:06:00 That's, that's entertaining. Yeah. Well, you can't FaceTime in on that. That's not. No. Be careful. Yeah. Probably just as well.
Starting point is 00:06:07 He doesn't, I guess. If he were here, he'd want to talk about his Buffalo Sabers, who shut out Vegas last night in Los Angeles. Vegas. And with that, our, I mean, it's not just a nice story anymore. This is, you're talking about one of the top teams of the National Hockey League. It's been an amazing run since they were here. They were here. December 9 or something. Literally. So the point. It's to the point where like if they aren't a home ice team in the playoffs,
Starting point is 00:06:37 it'll be, ooh, what happened? Like that's how good they've been. And it's, it's not just one thing. Like, you can't go, okay, it's just Tage Thompson's dragged them every night. Last night, UPL played really well. I was watching that game. They got to Golden. Alex Lion is their really great.
Starting point is 00:06:56 They're number one. But UPLs are really good. The reason I say UPLs, I'm not doing the Ouka Puka. It takes so long, right? It's a shortcut. It's good. I like it.
Starting point is 00:07:06 It's better. But, you know, they're, again, I look at their D. They can move the puck. They can skate. They jump in the play. They're forwards. they got a little bit of everything.
Starting point is 00:07:19 And what I love about it, too, is they get some nasty in their game. Like they, you know, any type of like altercation, they're like a pack of wolves. Like you can tell that group has gotten, I think, galvanized by so many negative things happening. And all of a sudden it's like, I wouldn't surprise me if they had like,
Starting point is 00:07:41 you know, the major league poster in their, in the drug. Yeah. You know, and somebody. And I don't. think Terry Pagula is like this, but he, you know, hey, we're going to ban against the owner type of thing, you know, the maybe. He's dead.
Starting point is 00:07:55 You know, although Perry to Pagula did not look very good in his year-end press conference for the Buffalo Bills, not those neighbors. Yeah. But I will say this. Like, their owner has been very passionate about keeping the team there. He's dumped a bunch of money. And, you know, when Rob Ray was on your show, he talked about how passionate the owner is, how ingrained in the city he is.
Starting point is 00:08:20 It's a great story. You know, our show, I'm sure your show, many shows have kicked the Buffalo Sabres and the city of Buffalo in the junk for many years. Just because you're not in the playoffs for 14 years. Like how bad, you know, how many times did I hear people say, how bad did Kevin Adams screw up that rebuild? You know, why would you trade Dylan Cousins to Ottawa, 24-year-old, 6-foot-3 centerman? We got Josh Norris back.
Starting point is 00:08:49 He's played very well when he's healthy, and that's the biggest challenge. You know, I look at some of the moves, and you're thinking, you know, everybody who left Buffalo has won. A lot of them have. Like, you know, they gave us some stuff to talk about. But now they deserve their flowers. They deserve the love that they're getting because they played great. And you're right, Pinder.
Starting point is 00:09:12 They're not just a team that's like, oh, Buffalo's on a heater. they're a forced to be reckon risk. They're a team that, you know, you expect them to beat that team that they're playing that night. That's how good they are. I'm curious where that line is because they're going to break this 14-year drought.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Place is going to be bananas. And where do you, where's, where's the hump where it's like, well, I guess we're not going to win this round or we're not going to, but what a great story where you just kind of, you accept that what you've done to this point, everyone's going to be happy with your progress and it's a success story. because there's going to be some adversity, which is not to say there hasn't been,
Starting point is 00:09:49 but it's been quite a role. They just keep winning and winning. There's not been any really adversity to speak of for months now. And that's going to have to change itself. That's the thing. The adversity, their battle tested because they've had nothing but adversity. So now they're looking at the other side of the fence and going,
Starting point is 00:10:06 yeah, I like what this looks like. Yeah. It's funny because Buffalo, depending on who you start. So we had a spirited debate two nights ago. I was on the Leaf panel. Or was that last night?
Starting point is 00:10:22 Last night, I guess. On the leaf panel last night. You weren't too much. And one of the questions was going to be about goaltending in the playoffs and, you know, what Evanton did and what all these other teams have done and all that. And I were going to say this, and this is why it ties to Buffalo. There's going to be a new Stanley Cup champion this year. Florida's gone.
Starting point is 00:10:43 They're not going to make it. So now you start looking at all the different storylines, all the teams that are quote unquote contenders. Everyone's got warts. Everyone's got some form. So the saying could be, why not Buffalo? Why? What's holding Buffalo back from coming out of the east?
Starting point is 00:11:04 Maybe Tampa. I think Tampa's the better team. I do think Tampa's a better team. But, you know, Buffalo showed that they can, they can go blow, blow to blow with them the other day in that whatever eight seven game right but i i i look at it i look at carolina and you know carolina didn't play well against um Columbus last night by brandon bussey i have more starts in the playoffs than brandon bussey that's not good i've got he's got zero
Starting point is 00:11:34 frederick adderson has 80 he's got 80 80 games played so if they need they've got a safe safety blanket there The Buffalo Sabres have four playoff games experience in net, and that's Alex Lyon with the Florida Panthers. UPL has, again, I'm ahead of him, with a couple of appearances. So, you know, the weirdest thing is we were having this spirited debate, while goaltending wins and all of that. I'm saying, you're right, you're right.
Starting point is 00:12:04 So they're like, oh, well, look at, Edmonton doesn't have any experience. And I go, you're right. Tristan Jari has eight games. Connor Ingram has three. and then all of a sudden I saw this magic thing of 11 Minnesota Jesper Wollstedt
Starting point is 00:12:19 yeah I'm ahead of him in games play in the playoffs Gustafson has 11 Colorado has 11 has 11 wet wood has four blackwood has seven again I just talked about Edmont Daria's 8
Starting point is 00:12:36 Ingram has three Vegas has 44 but Carter Hart has 14 of them. He hasn't been playing. Aiden Hills won a cup. He's got 30 games of experience. But, you know, I just talked about Carolina. Buffalo. Alex Lion has four and
Starting point is 00:12:52 UPL has zero. Like Montreal has six and Montembo has three of them. And they're three right now probably. That's crazy. Yeah. And I think Fowler might actually be a chance. They might throw the reins to him and say, go play.
Starting point is 00:13:07 It's just, it's wide open. Sorkin has 14. has 26. Stuart Skinner has 50 in Pittsburgh. And Vasilevsky has 120. Yeah. Yeah. When you asked the question, the first thing I thought was,
Starting point is 00:13:24 if you have home ice, you're expected to win the series. If you lose to Tampa, especially with what noodles just said when you're up against all these feature Hall of Famers and one is the goalie, and it's a long competitive series, I think that's the hump where it's like,
Starting point is 00:13:37 what a great year and we're still hungry. The job's not done. We'll be back next year. because you usually do see noodles. Teams that are new to the playoffs. It's not usually the first time in you go on a crazy run. It's the okay, let's figure out. It's a different type of a game.
Starting point is 00:13:51 It's a seven game series. But their position, they're the third youngest team in the league. Their position to be good for the next decade. A lot of their guys are locked up. Tage is locked up. They've got to figure out Tuck, but like Don't just got lucked up.
Starting point is 00:14:02 He's been probably the best story there. Everyone else is just a year older, year better that's very young getting into their prime. Don's the out of nowhere story on this team. Yeah. And, you know, the thing is, though, I think of like they're not a Cinderella story because of how well they're playing. But I think of that first time when the LA Kings won the cup when Darrell went in there.
Starting point is 00:14:22 He made it in at 8th and just basically steamrolled everybody. They'll end based teams. Yeah. You know, and I look at out east, I think there's a lot of good stories. I think Columbus could scare people. They're a dangerous team. Like if they get, like if that Jet Grieves holds up in net, that's another guy I didn't even look at, but I guarantee you between him and Elvis.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Elvis has a few games. But I think there's some great storylines. And I think when I come back to when I use the word the Buffalo Sabres is why not? Like I just don't see them as a team that would just fizzle out in the first round and go, okay, we got our experience. Like they might be a team that's like, we're battle tested because we've never been there. and, you know, they might hit the ground running. And it depends on who they face too in that first round.
Starting point is 00:15:16 That's the other thing. If they win the Atlantic, now you're, are they ahead? Would they be ahead of Carolina? I don't have their standings in front of me. Sorry. I don't believe so, but I'll check. They're tied for, tied with Carolina for tops in the east. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:29 So if they win the east, they would get the eighth seed, which, you know, one more game played. Yeah. So it's a Detroit, Boston, Columbus, Ottawa type team. Now, Ottawa scare, for me, I think Ottawa should scare people. I agree. I think Ottawa is the best team outside the playoff picture. Like it might be Columbus.
Starting point is 00:15:49 They have been red hot since Bones came in there. What was, where are they at last night after that? Because they crushed 5-1. 17, 2, and 4 in their last 23. If you look at their number under Bones, they look like a top 5 team in the league. Yes. I don't know it's not a huge sample, but it's getting bigger. And what do you think of Jetgreaves?
Starting point is 00:16:11 I do like him. I think he's really talented. I do. I like him as a goal tender. I think he, if he was six foot four, he'd be a perennial all star. And he might end up being one anyways because he's a good young goalie. But like now he just needs the process. He needs to play.
Starting point is 00:16:27 He needs to play. He needs to go through, you know, the ups and downs. And, you know, I've watched him play. God, he played back. to back against Ottawa. So they had played, I don't know if you remember this, but it was a weird story, but Columbus played at home. And there was a bit of a snowstorm.
Starting point is 00:16:49 But they're, they're playing. Something happened with their plane. Their plane was like stuck somewhere. And then it broke down and maintenance. And they're not like, they're not with a charter company like American Airlines. They're with like a unique charter, like, you know, Rick's Airlines type of thing. Rick's air lines. The guy has like,
Starting point is 00:17:07 Love those guys. And they had signed a deal. My understanding is this guy didn't have another plane. So that they got in an hour before the game in a back-to-back situation and went in and beat Ottawa. And Jed Greaves played both nights. And I remember thinking to myself, like this kid, like nothing, he's not afraid of anything. He goes in place.
Starting point is 00:17:29 And I really like him as a goalie. That's, you know, I look at Columbus. We look at Werensky, you know, they got that Marchenko. They've got some players there. And I think quietly, I don't want to say quietly, but I think they could surprise some teams, put it that way. We have a red update. Thank the Lord.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Yeah. You throw up prayers and sometimes they're answered. Yeah, they're answered. And they're answered today. I said, oh, sorry, I'm in bed sick. He don't get sick often, but when he gets sick, he gets sick. which is why he's such a huge germaphobe. I imagine you're a bit of a germaphobe too
Starting point is 00:18:07 that we're filling with the 15,000 security cameras. Well, I'm more of a security fob, but no, the germaphobe is, I mean, when I was 25 years old, I had bacterial meningitis and was an hour away from dying, had to reteach myself to walk, all that fun stuff. So I've got a compromised immune system, but I think I killed everything that went into it with the amount of whiskey that I pumped.
Starting point is 00:18:31 You know, I'm mindful of it. Like, I'm on planes all the time. So I bring sanitizer. I wash my hands. I'm not a masking guy. I'm not, you know, I'm not in, I'm vaxed. I'm not an anti-baxer, but I am paying more attention to what the world is all about these days. But at just the end of the day, I'm not as big a germaphobe as other people.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Like, I remember playing with a guy who was a germaphobe, and I would drive him to the rink and I would cough or squeeze and he would crack his window and my window. I'm like, what the hell's that going to do? Yeah. You know, by the end, you have kids. If you have kids, you're screws. Yeah. It's up the window.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Kids are the grubbiest little trolls you've ever seen in your life. They bring stuff home. They're hacking and coughing and wheeze and stuff. Oh, yeah. Cod everywhere. It's gross. Yeah. I think once I had kids, it's like there's, I've got no chance.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Like, I'll either hold up or that's it. It's that herd immunity. I remember you just build it up over time. We'll be all sick for two years and then we'll be fine. Last night, the Oilers play their first without dry sidle. Tonight, the penguins get Crosby back. I guess just thoughts on both teams headed in those directions. The word is it's regular season at least for Leon.
Starting point is 00:19:53 And the penguins did manage to do at least tread water, maybe even better with what's it. They did really well. I mean, okay, so start in Edmonton. obviously any time a star player is taken out of your lineup, it hurts you. The one thing I thought it helped their team at the deadline is the two guys they acquired, right? Dickinson is a really good third line center for me. He's kind of a younger Adam Henrique, to be honest. And then, Connor Murphy, it helped stabilize their D.
Starting point is 00:20:24 And it seems to be working so far. You're not a very good team if one player, you lose one player. and that's it. I think they had needed more from some of the players around those two. RNH has been up and down. I think he had a personal thing. He had to leave the team and now he's back. I don't know the nature of that.
Starting point is 00:20:45 But he's a cerebral player who plays in fourth gear. He never plays in fifth gear. He's always methodical, just a very smart player. Zach Hyman's got 29 goals and 50 games. I mean, he's missed a ton of time and still there. Jesus. So I know they could do it by committee. And the golden goose is still there.
Starting point is 00:21:05 And he's motivated. So, you know, losing dry subtle is going to hurt your power play. Although they scored, you know, RNH scored a dry saddle goal last night. Right, right? Same exact same play. It's just RNA shot instead of 29. Five on five, Leon's extremely creative, extremely strong. Like you're not going to replace them, but it has to be by committee.
Starting point is 00:21:26 they like this kid Josh Samanski who has got some jam, got some speed. I do think there's enough there for them to quote unquote tread water or more. Because if you look at strength of schedule, there's that website or whatever. You know, they do have a favorable schedule down there.
Starting point is 00:21:49 And Vegas has been the shits. I mean, the Oilers passed Vegas last night in the Pacific. The crazy thing is, And we had this argument yesterday, too, on Sports Center. It's like, the Oilers are in big trouble. They're four points out of a playoff spot. I'm like, yeah, but they're two points out of first. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:04 I said, like, you do need, they've got 13 games left, eight at home, five on the road. You still have to win games. But it looks like, Pinder, what's the number there? They're going to be 90, you think? 90, 92-ish to get into playoffs. In the West, that's a good question. I mean, the teams right now are at 71 and they've got. We haven't been that focused on the playoff.
Starting point is 00:22:25 I'd say it's going to be low this year. It's projected to be 86 at this point-ish, but maybe a little, let's call it 90. Yeah, like that's what I'm thinking. It's like, you probably- Last year, your 96 didn't get in. It's going to be way lower than that. Yeah, it's going to be way lower. I think it is going to be either 90 or just sub-90, 88-ish type of thing.
Starting point is 00:22:43 But like, you know, they have to control their own destiny. I think they've played a lot better defensively, which is held, because they're not just, you know, outside of that Dallas game on that road. trip. Like they, they've really knuckled down. So, Edmonton, I think, can, can do it without dry, settle, but you're not going anywhere in the playoffs if you don't have them. Like, I'm sorry. It's just there. And, and even if you do have them, I don't, you know, I'm not convinced this is their year, but you never know. There might be a pathway for them
Starting point is 00:23:12 if they continue to get stronger and some of those players settle in. I've settled in. I've settled all along and I've got to be consistent. I like Ingram. I think he's a good goaltender. I've liked his style. He's, you know, they're leaning on him more. He made some really good saves last night. I watched that game and helped them stay in it when they needed it. Crosby, Pittsburgh is my surprise team of the year. Like just hands up, hands down surprise team of the year. And there's been
Starting point is 00:23:39 Buffalo, there's been, you name, Florida not in, Toronto not in. Like, there's been lots of surprises. But I thought Pittsburgh was in sell now mode, talking to managers that were negotiating with Kyle Dubas on several of his players in the offseason. and none of those players moved, and now they've helped them get to the next level. Gino turned the clock back the other night,
Starting point is 00:24:01 a couple goals and looked like he was dancing. Eric Carlson looks like Eric Carlson, the 100-point guy in San Jose from a couple years ago. They got a chance to, you know, I don't say to do anything, because I don't think they're a team that could come out of the east, but again, I thought they wouldn't be in the playoff picture, so they could prove me wrong and a lot of other naysayers.
Starting point is 00:24:23 But it's a great story. Getting Crosby back is huge. And if they line up against the Islanders, I mean, those are two surprise stories. Someone's going to get to the second round. Why not? And, by the way, Jack, our producer, massive penguins fan,
Starting point is 00:24:35 Jack has a nickname he wants you to push because of your massive platform that you've got. The coach is not Dan Mews. It's Dan the man. It's Dan the man. Just so you know. Oh, that's a terrible nickname. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Do you help the shot? Dan. No one's heard of this guy before he gets hired. outside is like that from noodles. Terrible. It's not, it's not good enough. It's not a good enough Nick. Dan the man, okay. Like that. Like, like, I would rather
Starting point is 00:25:06 call him Dan the musician. Yeah, I make you say that. Like something like Dan the magical man. Like some of the magic man. There it is. We see this guy. We're like, so Jack will throw this up early in the season. It's like just yes, the penguins. Like Jack, get out of here with this. It's like who is this movie character?
Starting point is 00:25:27 And I mean, this guy's, he's pulled the right strings. And for a team like Pittsburgh, like, and then we can move on. But for a lot of those guys, they thought they may not, I'm guessing, I might not taste the playoffs again. Yeah. For Carlson and Latang and those guys, those days are maybe behind. You're to sit to Montreal or seven? I don't really want to leave Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:25:48 But if I ever want to play in the playoffs again, maybe I have to. And then all of a sudden it's like, shit, we're boys, we're going. Their home ice. That's some youth injection. Has driven the bus there. So maybe it'll stick, Dan the man. Listen, either way, when I called a game in Pittsburgh, I think it was maybe a month ago or whatever. You know, in talking to him, smart guy, level-headed, not overwhelmed.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Like, he doesn't seem like he's... Who's this, Dan the man? Yes, Dan the man. Okay, thank you. Musician. Right. I just think that, like, he's... He's very comfortable in his skin there.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Like, who's the guy who is the Miami Dolphins coach, the goof on the sidelines there? Donald, is that it? Daniel. Thank you. Daniel. Daniel, thank you. Like, he had, when I, before I met him and just watched him,
Starting point is 00:26:40 he had that McDaniel type of feel where it's like, they're standing back there, real tactical, really smart, really cerebral. So it kind of is in line with like Kyle Dubas, like Duba's outside box thinker. and it's, you know, in talking to him, he's wonderful. Like he's, he's smart. He's, you know, I, I, I actually vote for coach of the year. I could see.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Need you. I could see maybe him being in that conversation. It shouldn't be maybe. They were the only team in the off season that we heard from insiders were actively trying to be bad this year. And we thought. And Dubus loads up on one year guys that he can flip. It was going to be pumping, dump.
Starting point is 00:27:23 on Mantha and all these other guys. And all of a sudden, it's like, holy shit, Mike Sullivan, probably a guy going to the Hall of Fame, leaves. The team he's coaching is falling in the shitter, stays in the shitter. And this team that no one had expectations for is all of a sudden in a home ice spot. Like, he's absolutely a finalist. It's just going to be, is it him or is it Lindy Ruff? Or does Rissowski get San Joseon or is it finally time for John Cooper to get one?
Starting point is 00:27:45 I don't see any other candidates. Maybe Quenville, but Anaheim's out of the playoffs in there. If they're in the East. Yeah, I mean, you're right. everybody you're talking about has a lane towards it. It's just how these last 15 games, 13 games shake out. But I think Dan the man has to be right. And like there's three,
Starting point is 00:28:07 there's three that you choose, your top three. I don't see why he couldn't be in that top three. Jack is so happy right now. He's just, all I can see is in the top of his head over the monitor. And he's like, yeah, tell him, dudes. He's loving it.
Starting point is 00:28:20 But it is, it's fair. And it's a fair assessment. And we'll just find him a better nickname than. Yeah, we'll work on it. We'll workshop. I actually had a note. How many games do you need to, because we've talked about already, with bones. So how many games do you need to be there?
Starting point is 00:28:37 Because that's quite a turnaround. So here's, you want to get crazy? How about this? Coach of the year, Rick Bonas, who coaches 30 games. GM of the year, Kevin Adams, who is not on his couch. He was gone when it happened. It's, it's a car. It's a lot.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Come on now. I know, but like all that team is, they've added Luke Shen and Logan Stanley. You know, that's Kekeleinen's stamp on that team. Although I do, in talking to people out of Buffalo, the instant impression that Keckleinen made was like, I believe in this group, like, almost like, follow me. Like, it was almost like I'm the leader and this is what we're going to do. And I feel bad because Kevin Adams assembled everything. and then Kekeleinans come in and kind of push it to the next level. And it might be an attitude.
Starting point is 00:29:28 It might be the culture he wants to create whatever it is. But certainly Yarmou has had an effect. Sorry, James. I was going to say, it's got to be a weird feeling for Kevin Adams. There'd be some pride because that's his team. And at the same time, you're sitting at home while it's the best run that they've made, one of the best runs in franchise history. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:51 And he's, I mean, I think there is probably some solace for him. Like, he's getting paid. You know, you, you, it wasn't an embarrassing, like, you know, the way I look at it, sometimes you relieve a guy because it's just like you've got to put him out of his misery. Like, the way I look at it is you look back, he, he made a lot of methodical moves. Yes, did he miss on things or did you feel like you could have gotten something better? I don't know the Jack Eichel story. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I don't even know if that was him. I think that was- Ownership and Jack Eichl, didn't it? Yeah. So we don't know the backstory of how much control he had, what he was being told to do by the owner, all of that type of stuff.
Starting point is 00:30:32 But I think if we wanted to get crazy and do like, and it has been, I've said it, I've been consistent. This is a weird year. It's just a weird year that's been good hockey. There's been bad hockey. There's just weird stuff happening all over.
Starting point is 00:30:47 If you want to keep the weird ballad going, you've got to put Bussi in for your Vezna. because he came out of nowhere and he's been unreal for Carolina. Yeah, unreal. And, you know, like there's exactly. Like we could have the weird awards. And that's, you know, that's the opposite George. That's what it is.
Starting point is 00:31:04 George. Oh, yeah. Because you talked about it. When you look at what potential playoff matchups are going to be, you could see some real upsets. It's like Carolina, world beaters, baby Buffalo. I don't know. Even Carrey, even.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Columbus gets in? Why not them? like Colorado has one of the worst power plays in the league and they yeah I think they just need the regular season to end almost just get to the playoffs already yeah but but it does have that kind of of a vibe I don't know what the like the bet three six fives of the world yeah prohibitive favorites are there well think of this too that central like there's three juggernauts and one of them's going home no matter what like one of them's going home that's it like you're Two of them are gone by round three.
Starting point is 00:31:49 Exactly. Like it's just, it's a weird, I do think the league, and not just because of what we're talked about, but like I do think the one verse eight, like I do think it should be revisited, like, you know, the seating, like just the, you know, whatever it is, one verse eight, two verse seven, you know, three verse six type of thing. You know, it just would make for a different look. And I don't, yeah, you know. I understand why they're doing it noodles, but I also understand why it feels unfair.
Starting point is 00:32:21 It's obvious to say that it, you know, when we had Dallas Colorado around one last year, because Winnipeg won that division, like this is ludicrous. These are two cup contenders. This is insane that this is first round. I'm going to watch it and you probably get more people watching around one because of it. And you're strengthening these rivals and reason division. Like it's great for revenue, but God, it feels unfair. The Anaheim would be wild card two if they were in the central.
Starting point is 00:32:44 And instead, they're going to win their division and get a way soft. path in Minnesota who's been the world's better than this year. Yeah, that is fair. You know, and like the thing about it to these last like 10, 13 games, nothing is certain. L.A. L.A. has games in hand. They can make a run and, you know, get their act together.
Starting point is 00:33:05 I just don't know. Like that Pacific is very unique. Like, because there hasn't been a bona fide team that's been consistent all season long. And, you know, when you look. look at it, that Pacific, you know, there might be an easier path to come out of there if you end up, yeah, let's look at the standings. Thank you. I mean, you know, Anaheim's got two games on Ebenton, you know, I still think evidence is a better team than
Starting point is 00:33:32 Anaheim, but I, you could challenge it just based on the consistency of how Evanton hasn't had consistency. The fact that Vegas is still in there, and it's been, they've been wildly inconsistent. Haven't gotten the goaltending. at all. And I think Minnesota is a really scary team. I think they're really, really good. Colorado has so many points, but if you look at it, they have, they've come back down to Earth. They're kind of just treading water since they're long. Exactly. And then, like I say, you look at this L.A. and San Jose, like San Jose watching them last night, they got a lot of good pieces there, a lot. Like they're, they're getting, they're getting close to be in scary territory.
Starting point is 00:34:16 if they continue to grow. And, you know, LA, Seattle is a weird team for me. Like, I don't particularly care for them. No one does. Yeah, there's no oceans. Yeah. It is, they've got good players, but they don't have a superstar. I think their goaltending school.
Starting point is 00:34:36 I like Joey to court. I really like Joey to court. And Gru Bowers had a good season. But I, you know, Seattle's a team. Utah is a team that's sneaky for me. I was surprised that Bill Armstrong didn't do more at the deadline. He might have been trying to. Weaker's not nothing, but it felt like they were in on Thomas and some other big fish, right?
Starting point is 00:34:56 Exactly. Like, they've got good players there, and I wouldn't sleep on them, but I just, I was expecting Bill Armstrong, you know, for years, this is a guy who's been sitting on currency and players and draft picks and all of that, like big swinging. You're right, getting Thomas or getting some. somebody that is, you know, another massive threat. Because they do have, the one thing that Utah's really good is in their own building.
Starting point is 00:35:23 They play, they're hard to play against in that building. It's, they're fast. They move the puck around. Vemelka's held up, you know, the Vanichek doesn't give them much, you know, every night. But the other guy, Vamalka is really good. I think he's up there in leading the league and in wins for, for goaltenders. So it's interesting. It's, and our flames, they're hanging in there.
Starting point is 00:35:46 We're doing what they need to do, noodles. Second from the bottom. They're not going to be able to reel in Vancouver. We're very proud of us. We're proud of them. They're entertaining. They work hard. I used the term last night on the Leaf broadcast, the dignified tank.
Starting point is 00:36:01 I like that. Yeah. We used that 10 years ago in Toronto when Babcock came in and Shanahan came in and said, pain is coming. But at the end of the, you know, know, at the end of the pain, there is going to be a pot of gold type of thing. Now, that was Austin Matthews they got. It was 10 years ago.
Starting point is 00:36:21 What Calgary is doing, and it was every night, it was the dignified tank in Toronto, where it's like they'd lose 3-2, it wouldn't cheat you for effort. You'd see some young players that you really like that hope that they're going to bust through to the next year and be a part of the future. That's what Toronto has to do right now. I don't know if they're capable of doing that, just given. and, you know, Nielander and some other players that are there. It might be a little bit too good to get to that bottom five.
Starting point is 00:36:50 But Calgary is doing it the right way. And I don't know you guys have the pulse of the fan base. Is everybody accepting happy, you know, what's the, what's the verbiage on what they're doing right now? I have not heard a single naysayer. It's been too obvious for too long that they needed to do this. And they've almost shown too much of an unwillingness not to do it, that everyone's fine. It's more relief than anything. It's been so clear they've had to do this for three years.
Starting point is 00:37:14 In the past, they've kind of been with maybe a wild card. You could kind of squint if you were an eternal optimist and say, well, you win three or four in a row. You could be right. That's not this year. So I think for the first time, everybody's pretty much on this same page. I'm just so happy. I think Connie and his group have done such a great job there. And I, you know, I obviously they got a lot of work ahead of them.
Starting point is 00:37:35 But I, you know, for me, it is just shone. And maybe it's a tribute to Murray. ownership group or whatever or you know connie in his group like they've at least shown that there is a pathway they did you know earlier in the year we were concerned that they didn't verbalize it you know it's it's it's through their work it's shown there is a pathway and that's that's good i just wanted to bring this to your attention because you mentioned it earlier we i sent to jack the strength of schedule remaining in the nchl this year toughest schedule left dan the magician the man the magic man the musician the magic man yeah pittsburgs have the toughest schedule left
Starting point is 00:38:12 Boston number two, Calgary 3, which will be very helpful. Other teams of note, Montreal, fifth, toughest. And at the very bottom, the easiest remaining schedule in the NHL. LA? Suddenly playing much better L.A. Kings, who've been scoring a lot more since Panera arrived than have a new coach in place. That's, I thought I saw that L.A. could not even sneak in. They can get in, and make some hay up into the, into maybe, you know, in that third,
Starting point is 00:38:41 third second spot who knows like just depending but yeah strength of schedule i did see that too it's like don't they play vancouver like three times i thought i saw that like which vancouver's dying delu would check out crazy like pd finally scored his first goal in 21 games last night we've got two i guess yeah uh you know what it's it is still it there's too many games to talk about coasting to the end that's the crazy thing because there's still 15 13 13 13 to 15 games left. That's 32 points. You know, like somebody could go on a heater, a Buffalo heater,
Starting point is 00:39:18 and that we haven't seen and go, oh, they ended up winning the division, or they ended up doing this. And, you know, Nashville won't go away. I think Winnipeg lost that point last night. That was huge. That hurt me. That hurt, like I've been dying for them.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Like, I wanted them to have some sort of a resurgence. In my mind, I was hoping there's still four Canadian teams that could make it. And that would be, you know, Eben to Montreal, Ottawa, and Winnipeg. And I just, you know, now that last, losing that point last night
Starting point is 00:39:52 against Nashville, that was huge for me. That hurt me. Okay, last one. Ten seconds on Ottawa. Are they getting the saves now? It looks like it's been a better run. Yes. They are. My biggest worry is Lena Salmark. I just, you know, if,
Starting point is 00:40:06 I hope he's knock on wood healthy, physically and mentally, to handle a load down the stretch here. And if that's the case, yes, they're getting what they need. We'll work on the Dan Mews situation. We'll revisit in a week or so. Has your schedule slowed down at all? Or do you, like, we're post-deadline?
Starting point is 00:40:26 You're still just... Well, it has, like, I'm not... I took this week off, but I was on the Lee panel last night in Sports Center. And then I'm not on overdrive today, but I'm doing a game. doing Ottawa Islanders tomorrow. And then I fly to Florida to see my family for a couple days because they're down there. Nice. And then I come back Monday.
Starting point is 00:40:50 I fly, do my shows. And then I'm in Detroit, Tuesday, Wednesday home to do shows. Thursday, I'm in Ottawa. Friday, I fly right back to Tampa because Ottawa's there Saturday afternoon. So it's a bit greasy, but it's been stabilized right now. It could be worse. I could be Rhett Warner laying in bed. True, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Yeah, you could be that. We appreciate you, James. Have a good week, though. See, Niddles. There he is, Jamie McLennan. On the insider hotline of presentation of Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating, your crystal clear choice for home comfort, barn burner customers, hot water heater, AC furnace,
Starting point is 00:41:25 you receive discounts and upgrades up to $1,000 in value. You just kind of mentioned, hey, saw you on the barn burner. Saw you in Barnburner, boats. There you go. Crystal Waters. He's the worst vacationer ever, eh? He's the guy, I took the week off, And then he walks us through like five days of work,
Starting point is 00:41:47 extremely abbreviated vacation and then an incredibly crammed work week that follows. It makes me feel awful about myself. Because it's like there's things that I could do. But I get done here. It's like, who am I really going to go. Am I hungry? Am I got to go all the way over there to the Cloud Trail is so far.
Starting point is 00:42:04 It's got to be like a four or five minute drive from here. He's going to be miserable those two days of Florida. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's little breaking down the Columbus penalty. Dad, do you want to go do?
Starting point is 00:42:13 Yeah, I sure do, bud. Yeah, let's do that. Definitely do. How do you feel about the Dan the man? He was not impressed, but it feels like he would be on board if it were good. Yeah, it seemed like he was coming around to it a little bit. He kept saying it. And we're definitely trying to.
Starting point is 00:42:27 That wasn't a very hard thought out nickname either. It was just, I think we pulled up the picture the day he got hired and it was Dan the man. Yeah, you just kind of as a Dan the man. And he, you know, he kind of looks like someone that would be running like Dr. Evil's son running like a charitable foundation, like this bit of a nerd. He does have that Mike McDaniel. you'll feel probably one of those things like look I know what I am give me a few games
Starting point is 00:42:49 and you'll kind of see what I you'll appreciate me for so Dan the man was kind of taking the cheek I think he'll come around doesn't look exactly like Mr. T right Dan the man muse but we're trying to sway the witness here because the muse the musician the muse
Starting point is 00:43:03 who's the guy with the little stick in the orchestra the conductor is a conductor doesn't rhyme no we'll workshop it we'll work on it but we got some features on Dan the man know around here. We've been telling you to load up on your coach of these. So we can get noodles vote. We can sway the jury. He's got he's everywhere. News is on nine shows a day. That's true. So we got to push hard. Really catch harder. Crowfoot Dodge new ownership, new energy.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Same great northwest location. Crowfoot Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is now part of the capital automotive group. The focus is simple buying a vehicle easy and actually enjoyable. They've got a huge selection. Trucks SUVs, everything in between and a team that treats you like a neighbor not a number. Whether you're upgrading your ride or just browsing before puck drop, Crowfoot is building something fresh and worth checking out. No drama, no runaround, just solid vehicles and
Starting point is 00:43:54 solid people. Maybe they're like, it's been Columbus. Will change? Little change and then look out. Crowfoot, 20 crowfoot rise in the northwest, crowfoot dodgecrizer dot com. Capital automotive group comes in. You know, we can make some changes. Boom.
Starting point is 00:44:10 Look out for Crowfoot dodge. Bones. Bones. It's it's not an and there's other very strong candidates. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:20 But it's not enough games. No, it's a hell of a run though. But it's, how old is bones? Like 70s? He's been coaching like every year minus this little break.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Yeah, because he was in Winnipeg. It's like, okay, well, he's done. Since like Dallas. Well, age, Jesus, okay. 71. Done.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Yeah, he's 71 years old. And it's not just all, like they're shooting percentages through the roof and the goalies, but like they're definitively playing differently. Like you can see in the metrics, they are a much more difficult team to play. And they've, we looked at them this morning, like
Starting point is 00:44:55 just chatting, like, they've got some size. They're a big team. Like, Marchenko's big, for Rokhov's 240 pounds. Marchman's a big shit to stir, or yeah, if they can get him back. Yeah. Garland's not big, but he plays physical. Olivier is a... Oh, and then on the back end
Starting point is 00:45:11 it's like Provrov's a big guy. Like, this is a team that is like we talk about momentum. Who's going to be feeling better than the blue jackets if they get into play? It is so much about goalies though, right? Yeah. And there's a lot of these teams. Oh, maybe. Well, Jet Greas, Brandon Bussie, Walsett.
Starting point is 00:45:29 I know Augustuson, I think, left yesterday. They said it was a gear issue or something like that. You know, there's a lot of- I didn't thought about that because they've just been such a well-oiled machine. And now they're just, it looks like they're bored with the regular season. But like which of those guys has been played a game? I don't know if either have. Like maybe McKenzie Blackwood in Jersey three years ago or something,
Starting point is 00:45:49 but before he would stand those, I don't know. Yeah. Like it's not a wealth of experience. That, that probably is the, the Achilles seal there. That and that power play that we can't figure out why it's bad. And then Tampa Bay with Vasilewski, who's- Picture Hall of Famer. Seasons of playoff hockey.
Starting point is 00:46:03 Right. He's played for free for years. Yeah. Poor guy. So tonight, speaking of goalies, this Joel Hofer, if we see, if in, fact we see Joel Holfer and I have to have a feeling we were gonna. It's his crease. Who is this guy? Where do he? I mean,
Starting point is 00:46:22 this guy's the real deal. Yeah, it's goalie, but he's having a hell of a year. Yeah. Like he's taking many things job on a on a bad team. They're playing better now. But on a bad team, his numbers have been very strong. Yeah. And again, it's five o and one since the Olympic break, 1.64 goals against 953 save percentage and a shutout. Jeez. That's a heater. He's got four shutouts, I think, on the year, which has him tied with Sorokin and Gibson for tops in the league.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Jeez. And he's young guys still. So, yeah, it's definitely his crease. It makes you wonder with the 25. Blues would be without them. Yeah. Because, like, you post some absurd numbers like that. Like, are they in Vancouver territory if it's just Bennington and I guy? Yeah, with Bennington's 8.7. 71, 3.47.
Starting point is 00:47:17 So yeah, we've, the flames have seen Hofer. It feels like a lot. And I assume they'll, they'll see him again. The flames lost in the, it was the home opener, actually, back in October. It was what, Vancouver, Edmonton and then Vancouver and then home to play St. Louis. Third game in three and a half days. It was a matinee on a Saturday. I was there on the press box to that one.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Hofer had 27 saves that night. Jake neighbors, a pair of goals, the Calgary kid. And then they lost in St. Louis, November 11th. Blues lead three, nothing. Flames made it close. Bennington was in net for that one. They're playing well. They're six one and one in their last eight.
Starting point is 00:47:51 And it's probably not what Doug Armstrong wants in the sense that like, geez, like you're in the McKenna bowl here in terms of where your lottery odds are. But he did retrieve a couple first rounders and they're still deep. They do have some interesting young players. Jimmy Snuggard's been really good. He's playing on the top line. I wonder if they're... Logan May.
Starting point is 00:48:09 It has been a nice fine on the blue line from Montreal. That was that trade they made with Montreal. beginning of last year. Yeah, last week or earlier, this like in recent, they had three of their, they had three first round picks in 2023 and all three of them played. It was the first time, I think, in franchise history. But they've snuggaroos, 21. These other three obviously are in that 2021 age.
Starting point is 00:48:29 Hofer's 25. Neighbors is still 23. Dylan Holloway is 24. So I don't know. Is this, I don't, they're not San Jose, Anaheim. They don't have that high end, you know, superstar status. young team. But if you dropped a McKenna in there, they'd look pretty good, wouldn't they? Yeah, they'd be all right. I still don't know why they had Thomas on the block.
Starting point is 00:48:51 Like, he's your one C. And you look if he's gone what this team looks like. And it's like, I think, I think that had to have been. And it's shitty for the player. But if some team does step up and you look, we've got all these young guys, but we don't have a stud. Well, maybe we can, if somebody wants to give us three first round assets for Rob Thomas. Yeah. And, and. I'll do it. I obviously know guys unmovable if we see the likes of Wayne Gretzky get traded, but.
Starting point is 00:49:18 Because that's what it sounded like, right? So public for so long. Like his name was out there for months. It's just, you can do those things without it getting public. But then also, that's kind of the way Doug Armstrong's done business. He's talked about trading Braden Shen for two, three years.
Starting point is 00:49:31 They've asked him to wave two years in a row. He, you know, Perako is out there. Like he's, he doesn't seem to mind saying, I'll trade anyone as a cattle prod of sorts to get this team going. It's just, I'm not good enough to see.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Yeah. Winnipeg on Sunday. They're on a little Western Canada thing here. They'd gone 6'11-1 in the 7. You mentioned it. I mean, since the Olympic break, 7-2-1, it's the best. This is their best hockey on the year is right now. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:49:55 They've been scoring. They've scored three or more in 14 of their last 15, seven straight games, and their defensive play has tightened up. And obviously part of his goalie is Hofer, but they've been a little stingy in the last month or so, should be just great news. Hey, what dream season for the flames continues? It should be just great news.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Flames coming home. First game back? First game back. Six game homestand day open. Okay. It's too many. Feels like so many. Too many, Trev.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Yep. Florida Friday, Tampa Sunday. Kings on the 24th, Ducks, and then the Canucks to wrap it up. What's our, let's do the homestand record prediction. Okay. And I can add a little context with how teams are going here.
Starting point is 00:50:45 Okay. St. Louis, 6-1 and 1 in their last eight, they open there. I say we're going to give you zero points tonight. I agree. Loss, Jack? Loss. Okay. Florida comes in on Friday.
Starting point is 00:50:58 That is the 50th game in left of the Saddle Dome in the regular season. Thanks, Pike. Thanks, Pike. Appreciate that. They beat, they're all over the map. They're beating teams that are good. They got spanked by Vancouver yesterday. Yeah. I feel like you're getting a point there.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Yeah, I was, I was thinking win. I'll go point. But I worry about it. I'll go win. Yeah. Tampa on Sunday, I think Tampa needs this. They've got two games in Han on Buffalo, and if they win them, they're tied. So they're vying for a division title and theoretically home ice in the east. I think Tampa wins that. Yeah. What was the Tampa? Was it they were on last game on a road trip last time they were through and the flames?
Starting point is 00:51:41 Well, they haven't played yet this year, obviously, because the only, come here once but the flames went there amid that they always do that southeast yeah yeah Florida Tampa Carolina it's always a murderer anyway I'll go loss as well yeah LA Kings come in Tuesday I mean the Kings haven't been setting the world on fire but they're picking up points here and there easiest strength of schedule in the entire league remaining
Starting point is 00:52:01 and they're just mere percentage points out of a playoff spot I'm gonna see Kings I'll go win flames win flames lose I like what the Kings have been doing Ducks have been good, not great. They're tied with Ottawa, yet leading a division. I think, I'm going to say the ducks outscore the flames here. They've got a bunch of guys at that 30-year-old rate. Nice team.
Starting point is 00:52:27 Yeah, I'll go a loss there. And then I'll give the flames a tough one against Vancouver. The flames will beat the Canucks who just are in shambles in a ultimate tank bowl matchup. You're not catching them anyway. They won last night. Yeah. Canucks actually 500, their last six games. three, two, and one, their last six. Better than 500.
Starting point is 00:52:48 Ducks have been just okay. Kings three and one, three one in their last five. The bolts are the team struggling the most that are, they're facing, but I feel like it's one of those things that I'm not worried about their future so much. It's just a bad run. So we've got them max two wins. Maybe a loser point in there somewhere. Five of possible 12 points. We can go over under that.
Starting point is 00:53:07 Okay. All right. Round five. Well, Huska, there's your marching orders. See to it, bud. And the road trip's just an absolute nightmare. You see the first game there at the bottom of the calendar at Colorado. Do you know?
Starting point is 00:53:21 Yeah. That's their first of two games remaining against Colorado. Okay. I guess after Colorado, Anaheim, Dallas, Seattle, all teams in the hunt or vying for a playoff spot that they'll face on that five-game roadie. I like the dignified. I like the dignified. Yeah, same, same.
Starting point is 00:53:38 I like the dignified. Mm-hmm. I think Kent Wilson coined the ethical tank back in that article. and the fall where he's like, just let gravity do what it's supposed to do. You're not good enough. Look to the future. Yes. I think maybe from the Conroy, you can, this is the ethical.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Like this is, okay, this is what you do. But for the players, they can take some pride. Works our tails off. Is it a tank when, like, is it a tank? I guess it depends on what your definition is. I always feel like a tank is when you are purposely trying to lose games when you are capable of doing more and performing. Yeah, tank's probably too strong.
Starting point is 00:54:12 but I think in this context, it would be like, we know that three picks and prospects aren't as good as McKenzie Weger. That is a clear move. It will hurt you short term to make you better long term. That's what the idea of the tank is. Be bad now to be good later. This just feels like
Starting point is 00:54:28 if they just hold off UFAs. Acceptance of what you are. It's just. It's intellectual honesty. Whatever, you know. Intellectual honesty. Yeah. Is that tanking, trading your players away?
Starting point is 00:54:42 not expiring contracts, but when you look at what they did with Uyghur and cadre, it's like the product on the ice is going to be worse, period. You're actively making your roster worse. I think tank is more like in the NBA you see it. Like they took their
Starting point is 00:54:58 players off the floor. And that just doesn't happen in the end of show. The only time I can think of an actual tank was the Sabres in 1415 when it was David draft and they literally traded goalies when they got hot and it was just the worst roster you've seen ever. There have been teams that have been very, very bad like San Jose a couple years ago,
Starting point is 00:55:15 but it wasn't like, ha ha ha, ha. Like it was obvious. They just didn't have enough skill. Like tanking is a, in the way you're talking about it, is a real problem in the NBA. It's not in the NHL. Like you watch St. Louis, New York, Vancouver, down the stretcher. They're all trying to win.
Starting point is 00:55:33 Like the Canucks didn't come out and say, all right, boys, let's work hard, but not too hard. We need Florida to win. No, they were like, we're winning this. Like, I don't know whether it's something to do with the game or the way that these players are wired, but you don't see tanking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Like the issue we talk about with basketball. Or are we too close to it? Because if you're on the outside looking in, Weager and Cadry, two of their best players, even though it's an off year, don't text, message,
Starting point is 00:55:55 I mean, with term veteran guys, best players traded them both. You could argue maybe. In an actual sphere that's expired contract, UFA, okay, that's the business that teams do.
Starting point is 00:56:08 But when you had your best players locked in long term, and you move them. Could be argued, I guess. Yeah, and in the NBA, that's not strong enough to be tanking in the sense that you're not actively trying to lose. But in the NHL lexicon, maybe that is tanking. Ethical tanking.
Starting point is 00:56:25 Yeah. I'm fine with it either way. Call it whatever you want. It's about damn time. Yeah. It's about that. Overdue. That's what you call it.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Hearing loss clinic, hearing loss. Ca, Travis and Sabrina Rhodes, Rhodes, Rhodes. He's all for it. He's fine with it. Brighter days ahead. Yeah. He's fine with it. People of all ages can suffer from hearing loss.
Starting point is 00:56:47 It can be especially challenging for kids. You just think, well, it's old people. That's not old people. It's everybody. Studies show that health risks like dementia, depression, and others have been linked to untreated hearing loss. It's not about hearing and parents, but empowering people to be socially active,
Starting point is 00:57:03 get back to the life that they should be living, that maybe they're avoiding and don't even know it. Starting point is 00:57:52 I need to end. Two of them start with the letter C. Hmm. The letter C. Cranbrook. Yeah. Yes. Another one that starts with C.R.
Starting point is 00:58:09 This can be tough for him. Yeah. C.R. Creston. Cranbrook. Invermere. The golden. Golden.
Starting point is 00:58:17 Golden. Golden. Golden. And Fernie. beautiful for the dog that's the Columbia Valley just golden at the top I don't write those down

Starting point is 00:59:31 in the Northwest Automol. We start with the game day. It is, I like the way you say it when you say it, right. The Calvary Flames hosting. The Saint-Loss blows. That's right. St. Belos.
Starting point is 00:59:45 Bernie Federco. Let's go. There's your boy, Farabee. There he is. Five away. Can he get five? He's been playing a lot better since the deadline. He has.
Starting point is 00:59:57 He's playing last check with Backland and Coleman. I think that is a spot for him to get out. Coleman leads with 16 goals. Backland, Frost, Coronado, and Farabee all have 15. Backlin 15. A lot of empty netters. Must be. Frames Nation.
Starting point is 01:00:13 Thanks, Dean. The articles. Many things going on. What are we talking about today? Oh, okay. We're getting into the strength of schedule time of year, Dino. Adrian KISS! With the update there on Flames Nation.
Starting point is 01:00:26 Puck her up. That's right. There you go. It's not a real person. Is that a bot? Jack, back to you. Bought? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:00:34 There was one time where I googled one of these people that write on FN and I couldn't find the guy. Well, it's just. No LinkedIn, no socials. A recluse, maybe. I don't know. But that Flash Stevens is a thing. He's a real person.
Starting point is 01:00:50 The dog's name, rest in peace. Miss the Bush. Sadd yet. Up in doggy heaven. Bobby Germany had this post game. He says on Afterburner, I talked about how Martin Postville isn't skating like he was his first two years in the NHL.
Starting point is 01:01:05 Now, that's sort of an eye testing. It doesn't feel like, well, we don't have the eye testing where they literally have chips in their jerseys and you can track how quickly a player is skating. the NHL data does back that up. He's down two to three miles per hour in terms of his speed boosts. And it's anecdotal. It's also a fact.
Starting point is 01:01:27 But when they signed Marty Posso with a year left to like a three year extension, yeah. I don't know where he's at because he came in on fire. It was cadre, Possesol, Zeri. They just played the outdoor game where they dressed up with Hicks as Hicks
Starting point is 01:01:43 or Dexies's Midnight runners. That helped turn. around, but was an awful start to the year under Huska. He was just felt like a force of nature at times where he just had fingerprints all over the game. That's not happening as much. He's also missed everything up to the Olympics, basically,
Starting point is 01:02:00 then did play at the Olympics. It's not the Marty Possible you'd hoped you'd be seeing three years out when you saw his debut. No, and I was a fan. Good or bad. He was making an impact every night. You couldn't watch the game and not notice him. Totally. And I don't know. It hasn't been
Starting point is 01:02:15 that this year. Now again, not huge games played. Rett talks a lot about it. Why are you playing? You don't need to play. You've had so many concussions, health issues. Is this a young guy who got a contract? And I don't even mean it disparagingly. It's like, I don't, I don't necessarily, I don't know if I have it in me to be leading with my chin and my forehead every time hitting and scrapping it. Like he fought the other night. It doesn't do it often. And he probably shouldn't be. I don't, like, I don't, like, I, do. I don't know how to feel about it because you love that style of play and he brought an element that not a lot of teams have. And suddenly it's crowded. But it's bottom six. You know, Klaapka's kind taken a bit of that. Even he's not as long as he's not as big of a dirt bag. And I say that
Starting point is 01:03:02 glowingly. He's not as big a dirt bag as possible possible as he was he was getting known around the league as I hate this guy. So I don't know. It's it's unfortunate for sure because like you say, They invested some money. It's not a ton, but still, they, they gave the guy the contract. And I don't know. I just want to look at it here. Was it three times one point something or almost two? Yeah, like it's not a ton.
Starting point is 01:03:28 This is the final year of his one. He's making a million. The extension kicks in next year, three years at 2.5. That's how I remember. You want someone more impactful than in and out of the lineup on your fourth line for that money. Yeah. because Lomburg can give you that for less on his new contract, I'm guessing. Klapka's giving you that at 900, albeit, you know, he's going to get a bump and it has on his extension.
Starting point is 01:03:54 You wonder how he fits here on a team that has too many wingers. And are drafting a ton. Every year there's a graduate. Like Hansick's going to be healthy next year and he's going to play above him. Maybe you move Coleman at the draft, but it does sort of feel like they're going to want Coleman around for culture, work ethic leadership, up until they absolutely have to make a call, which will be at the deadline. Feels like it's going a certain way.
Starting point is 01:04:16 I agree. Fortunately, for sure. Do we see the debut of Tyson Gross anytime soon? He took part in morning skate today for the first time since signing at a St. Cloud State University. That feels like one of those things you hear the coach. Oh, we want to get them through some practices. You know, get them, be with the teams.
Starting point is 01:04:33 It's a homestand. You got to be on the road, meet the fellas. No pressure. Welcome aboard. You're in the NHL. And now you're at home. Get on the ice. I would think he'll... It's a practice time here.
Starting point is 01:04:42 He'll get a taste maybe on this homestown. I'd hope so. Good story. Not expecting him to be the savior, but when you sign and you're a hometown guy, that debut is going to be a special night. Sure. Keep moving. Be sure you to the March schedule.
Starting point is 01:04:56 It is the first of six in a row at home tonight with the Blues. It's followed up by Florida, Tampa, L.A. Anaheim in Vancouver. And then it's back out on the road for another five straight. Abbs, Golden Knights, Ducks, Stars, and the Crackin, there are a 14 games. remaining in this season. Nine at home, five away, three teams that are not going to make the playoffs out of the 14, and 11 that are either in or fighting to get it.
Starting point is 01:05:22 Again, one of the toughest schedules in the NHL remaining the flames have sitting in front of them. To the West standings, we showed you this earlier. The Pacific is an absolute dog's breakfast. It is wild. We talk about Ottawa and how, oh, geez, they really uphill climb to get into the playoffs. They have the same number of points.
Starting point is 01:05:40 as the ducks and oilers who were tied to top of the Pacific, ducks do hold two games in hand on Edmonton. We have the conversation. I've kind of always been on the other side, the one versus eight as opposed to this. You know, the Edmonton, two, three, round ones kind of thing. Because you do, you end up losing. Great teams.
Starting point is 01:05:58 It's a tremendous, a cup threat in round number one. It feels like we've had Tampa. But sometimes you go back, well, look at it one and eight and how different is it? Well, maybe it's not that different. This would be, maybe it's an outlier, but this year would be the year. It'd be like Minnesota, Colorado, Dallas, they should all advance. And like you say, two are going to be gone by the end of round two.
Starting point is 01:06:20 It's a soft path. If you're going through the Pacific, can Utah take advantage of that? Does L.A. get in there? Do the oilers? The oilers get their ass together. They've been much better defensively since Paul Coff. You got back on the bench. Ingram's looked like a stable netminder.
Starting point is 01:06:33 Jar Jar Stinks is now the backup. We'll see. It's certainly, we've seen them do it before. They crank it up a bit heading into the postseason. Easy path. I'll say that. Don't like it. Have you softened a bit on it or do you still like this setup?
Starting point is 01:06:48 I think when you point out the ones that are the most lopsided, people get frustrated, but you forget why it was put there. We want more battles of Alberta. We want more battle of Ontario. We want more battles of Florida. We want to church against, you know, their rivals, be at Columbus. Like, that's different divisions, that example. But you get my point.
Starting point is 01:07:08 Like, when you're. in those series, they are series that means so much more because you're facing a bitter rival. This format gives you that. The drawback is what you're going to see in the two, three. Yeah. And you can argue it both ways. You could also argue round one is going to be exciting no matter what. Then you get to rounds two and sometimes three and it's like, yeah. And that happened one eight two because it's just a war of attrition.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Teams are so dinged up. You've gone through two best of sevens. It's just when you go from the last regular season game to that first playoff game and you see the intensity and physicality and cranked up, you're like, oh, man, this is the best. But can you do that for two months? Yeah, I don't know. Not many can.
Starting point is 01:07:58 Either way, there's the West. Well, San Jose had a really good chance to make some damage. A win last night in Everton would have put them in a playoff spot and would have kept Edmonton in the three hole. The gap would have been dropped to just three points. That is going on the surface. We may not care. People who don't care for the Cracken or the Kings or you'll care for the Cracken or the Kings or whatever, but they're on so late. That could be a dog fight right down to it. Yeah. And the King's last
Starting point is 01:08:25 game of those three. Kings last game of the years here in Calgary. Yeah. So that that could be mean a lot for the visitor in game 82. We'll keep moving. Let's look at the Pacific. We talked about how mediocre it is. This is just the middle of the NHL standings, but look who's there. Like, there's Columbus outside in and the east. Ottawa, outside in the east. Oh, and there's your division leader, Anaheim. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:49 It's a really good year to say one eight would be better. Yeah. Because I think it would this year. But I also am not ready to say, oh, I didn't like the Battle of Florida for the last five years or it was because those are epic series. And you're just more likely to get them if you go through divisions first. It's a debate that's not going away. And Gary likes it, so I don't think it's going anywhere.
Starting point is 01:09:08 I wonder if, because there is a drumbeat this year for sure. Well, and anytime that you saw Florida or Tampa, you heard the same thing. And it's Toronto. But every year, there's always one where you're like, this doesn't seem fair. I wonder every time there's a board of governors meeting. If Gary's like, oh, here comes Dallas and now Minnesota's in my year. Colorado's been in my year. All they'll get one versus eight again.
Starting point is 01:09:29 I wonder if there is a growing appetite for it. Because it seems like that conversation because of the year is out there right now. Yeah. And the great counterpoint Gary's always got is like, well, you're going to have to beat this team at some point. Like you don't just both to magically get to go to the Stanley Cup final. Sorry, there's only one cup. Yeah. You just playing them. And I don't know.
Starting point is 01:09:48 Did people think Colorado was a disaster last year because they lost round one in game seven to Dallas? No. Nate wasn't happy. No, he wasn't. But that's the thing. No one thought they should be out in round one. This is what it comes down to. Totally.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Let's go to the east. Question of before we move on. Yeah. Like a team like Dallas loses in the first round. There's jobs on the line. That's, I think traditionally, yes, but if you, if you, like Colorado didn't fire anyone last year. No, I know. Like I think you understand.
Starting point is 01:10:16 Stanley Cup, they've won. There's context to like, who did you? Oh, you lost to Colorado around. Okay. Well, it was the opposite. I would think Jared Bednar would be like, if I lose back to back round. Because there will be that discussion. If Colorado doesn't get out of, now, they're probably going to win that division.
Starting point is 01:10:33 So whatever. But last year, that was what happened. Yeah. Yeah. I think the pressure is on Dallas this year. Big Ten. Yep. And noodles made a good point when you talked about the inexperienced net mining, Colorado, Minnesota, there's Otenger. Might be the year. Or is it the Smith?
Starting point is 01:10:51 Yeah, well, we saw the good one. The Smith comes in and DeBore will be like, see, what the hell? That would be fine. What the hell? Go to the east. Better race here. Better teams, better point totals. It'll be a much higher point cutoff here in the east.
Starting point is 01:11:04 you're 600 hockey blue jackets and you're not in pretty damn good they're on a heater and mere percentage points out in fact percentage points in they're above Detroit if you go to a points percentage you got a game in hand they're one point back Ottawa's not dead yet and they're starting to get saves if that stays look out I'm full on Columbus Ottawa in Boston Detroit out yeah I don't know about that Detroit game the other night just kind of like it's not star power I want the island who's in. I want to see Schaefer. I want sit in there.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Carolina is going to be regardless. And I want Montreal in because that barn is. That game last night I was watching. Okay. That break is ridiculous. Huge game for playoff implications. They end up giving three points away. We'll get your finals.
Starting point is 01:11:48 I'm so screwed in our bet. I mean, well, Montreal's not getting it. That looked like, what was your bet? So we got banged up at Stampede and we're arguing about Connor Zeri's contract.
Starting point is 01:11:58 Uh-huh. And I'm like, they're not going long term. He's like, he's going to make more than frost. I'm like, well, that's just not happening. No, I have to take your money. So he loses that bet. And then I had the bold predictions where I was all in on Buffalo.
Starting point is 01:12:07 I'm like, Delane's going to win the Norris. Tage's he's score 50. Sabers are making the playoffs. And he's like, well, I'll double or nothing. I'll take Montreal. And he was very comfortable when Buffalo fast. I was going to offer like an early cash out or something. Buffalo has turned the corner.
Starting point is 01:12:22 So you had Montreal to make it. To be better than Buffalo. And I had sympathy for him. And I'm like, all right, I'll let him out of this. 100 bucks. he's owed me for a year or whatever. Looked good at the time, Jack. It did look really good.
Starting point is 01:12:35 Yeah. Sorry, buddy. It does come back to the, what are you losers doing at Stampede at a concert? Yeah. Gipping about Zeri contracts in. Like Jack's single in his 20s at Stampede are doing over what the agent should do. I'm like, dude, there's some cowgirls you should be making up with it.
Starting point is 01:12:50 I think you'd have been happy to engage. But yes, both of you guys probably had bitter things to do. I should have been sleeping at Jack's. Should have been flirting. Bottom 10. here's where we find the flames. Bit of room. Chicago picking up some points here there.
Starting point is 01:13:05 Good work. Out of boy, Connor. Rangers are rolling. Rangers have been better. Blues have been better. Hawks got a point. Vancouver's playing some of the bad. I'd mean, gosh.
Starting point is 01:13:15 Nine points. Dream season. Just need the lottery balls. Final equation. Come on, Vancouver. Come on Vancouver. You love winning. So good at it.
Starting point is 01:13:23 Finals from last night. Lots of games. Nine of them. Nine. It was quite a night. The Islanders, old, what is it?
Starting point is 01:13:36 Richard Scheng has scored this. Callum Richie, goal and an assist. Barzal, three assists. Islanders, four and one in their last five. Habs, Bruins in overtime, Cole Caulfield scores the OT winner. Cole Caulfield. His 40th of the year,
Starting point is 01:13:53 it's Montreal's first 40 goal scorer since Vincent D'Enfus in 93-94. You should have had Jack pronounce that name, but we didn't have a written down anywhere. Vincent Dampe, Wettcheque. Dolbish 26 saves. We could do it again. Suzuki hits the 80 point plateau. He's done it in back-to-back seasons. Last player to do that was, who is it, Jack?
Starting point is 01:14:19 Yeah, there you go. Wet Jack. Yeah. Vinnie Danfuss. Vinnie Danfuss. Yeah. Good listening. Columbus wins again on a heater under both.
Starting point is 01:14:28 6, 0 and 4, so, you know, but still no regulation losses in their last 10. We talked about it, 17, 2, and 4 in their last 23 games. Jet Grieves, 27 saves. The Canes had won 4 of 6. There's still the Canes. Yeah, they're going to win that division. Wild over the Hawks in overtime 4 to 3. Zuccarello, the winner.
Starting point is 01:14:51 Frank Nazar tied it late. A 3-point night for Brock Faber. It's a good bounceback for the Wild. they'd lost three in a row. Did you see Michael McCarron steamroll, Connor Baderd? No. Either way. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:06 They've added some muscle there. Jonathan Taves tied it with just over a minute left to get it to overtime. They'd go through overtime into a shootout. Predators beat the Jets 4 to 3. Soros was very good. 36 saves. Nashville points in 3 of 4. Jets have lost three of their last 5.
Starting point is 01:15:22 Oilers had a 3-1 lead. It got to 3-3. They'd pull away. and without Leon Drysaddle for the first full game, they are 1 in 0. Ingram, 27 saves. Oilers are 4, 1 and 1 in their last 6. Stan Bowman spoke with the media today
Starting point is 01:15:38 and softened that timeline on dry saddle. He believes he'll be back and ready for the end of the regular season, which I don't know if that means he plays game 82 or if it was they needed to win to get any play, but I don't think it doesn't sound like they're worrying about his availability in round one. And that's a whole very different tone than yes. yesterday, to be fair.
Starting point is 01:15:56 They were very, a little ambiguous, I guess, after the announcement was made yesterday, the Vague. So wait, wait. So he's done for the, what about playoffs? Are you saying he's back for the playoffs or could it trickle into the playoffs or what are you saying? In fairness, that's weeks away. It's a month away.
Starting point is 01:16:12 Guys can heal. But last night was the one month from the end of the season. So if it's a four-week injury, should be good to go if you're an Oilers fan. How about those Canucks? Big win on home ice. Elias Pederson ends his 20 games. game goal drought. 20.
Starting point is 01:16:27 Scored twice, hits the 200 goal plateau. Rossi and Bessar get three points. The Canucks, get this now. Three wins, three, two, and one in the last six. They had won three games in their previous 26 games. So it's quite an improvement, Harry. Kachuk won a goal and an assist on the losing side there.
Starting point is 01:16:50 Sabres beat Vegas. I watched probably good the last half of this one. Vegas is very underwhelming. They really are. Sabres are 10 and 1 in their last 11. Tied for tops in the east. Vegas falls to third in the central. We've talked about that.
Starting point is 01:17:06 And then it was our buddy Cooch. Three goals, two assists. Oh, just five? For Coucherov, Hagle, a four point knight. Vasilevsky made 16 saves in this one. So for Cooch, he has 93 points in his last 45 games. That is the most in a 45 game span since Mario had 112 in 95.96.
Starting point is 01:17:32 Since Mario. 93 and 45. I mean, you're telling me Connor's best 45 game run was never this. That's incredible. I'm sure it was close. Oh, absolutely. But it's better than this.
Starting point is 01:17:43 If that's the stat's the stat. So he is, he's right behind McDavid. He has 111 points in 62 games. McDavid still leads the league with 150. All right. We'll dial in on some NHL news and notes. The Leon injury was announced yesterday.
Starting point is 01:17:57 This is a sweaty panic afternoon on St. Patrick's Day for Oilers fans. They might have hit the pub a little early deal with this. What was the play it happened on? Well, we've got it for you. He did come back and gave it a little twirl and then went right back down the tunnel. So at least they wanted to try it. But watch how he gets folded up in front of the bench here. Kind of looks like the midsection under the ribs catches the side of the boards here.
Starting point is 01:18:23 or is it the ribs? It's a middle central body injury. Not at upper, not a lower rate in the... Yeah, that's kidney spleen, rib, abdominal, I don't know. And all due respect to Wiseblatt, when I heard it was Wiseblatt,
Starting point is 01:18:40 it hits, oh, how dirty is this hit? Clean it? And it's actually, yeah. And the Oilers went all over them after them, especially in the afternoon, have this Matthews thing. Teams are sticking up for each other even more, knowing them to the spotlight.
Starting point is 01:18:50 It's clean hit. Leon's had some back stuff. He played that entire Calgary series on a broken ankle on 22. He's an animal. If he can come back at all, he'll be back and they'll need him to be back. Yeah, totally. Crosby. I have a Crosby note for a year.
Starting point is 01:19:09 He'll play tonight. Dan the man. The musician. Playing all right notes. Let's go. It's on key. 11 games he ends up missing. and that stretches back to his injury at the Olympics.
Starting point is 01:19:23 They also have the Gino-5 game suspension. They've survived those absences, and now it's close to full health as they've been since the Olympics started and are still second in the Metro. That's an impressive feather in Dan Muse's cap. Dan the man. Dan the man.
Starting point is 01:19:42 I've been waiting for this team to fall off a cliff all year. He's just hasn't asked me. He's the text me as like penguins are cooked. And then I hope they just scored two. mind, we're back. What is the? Because I know what's been. They've had some crazy circus comebacks.
Starting point is 01:19:55 Like down by multiple goals and winning and or getting points. It's crazy what they've done over this stretch. And they can't win in a shootout to save it. You're 1 in 10 in the shootout. Worst record in the season ever. Seelov's 1598. What a pickup that was. 2.90 895 save percentage,
Starting point is 01:20:11 but I'd be the only thing. That defense is still that defense. Some of the lesser known guys have been really. It doesn't look good on paper, but they They've been good. Dan the man. I'm hopeful for you, Jack, because, you know, we need it. I like when you get good things.
Starting point is 01:20:26 I know the WB. Actually, we'll go to tonight's games first. That's probably the move. Let's go right to the games tonight. Oh, we get to play. It's got the games. It's not the same without retro. There really isn't.
Starting point is 01:20:35 Jack, you're going to step up, pull up your socks. Six games tonight in the NHL. Let's go around the league team. Jersey and the Rangers. Well, they play very close to one another. A Ranger who is also. Bobby Haleek. Yes.
Starting point is 01:20:51 Bing. Very good. Penguins and Carolinas. Gensel Bowl, the Bunting Bowl. Oh, well, it's on. Excellent, Jack. Thank you, Jack. Good thing you're here.
Starting point is 01:20:59 Ottawa, Washington. I got an obvious one. He's having a monster year with Caps. I think I have an older one. I think he played at the end of his career. I'll do the new one. That's Jacob Chichikrin. I've got Peter Bondra.
Starting point is 01:21:10 Oh, I love Peter Bondra. Did Bondra play at the end in Ottawa? Yes, he was in a... Absolutely. Yeah. I loved Peter Bondra. God. Yeah, he was electrified.
Starting point is 01:21:20 He and Ziggy Palfi that we showed you the mullet last week, Jack. Same era. Snipers that didn't get enough love. Parfee wearing the fish sticks back in the day. Be helpful. Does he even know what the fish sticks like? Captain Highliner, Jack? No.
Starting point is 01:21:33 The old Islanders jersey they wore at one time was absolutely hideous. It was the Captain Highliner jersey. Google that. What is yours? I didn't. You know, it would be... Late 90s? Mid.
Starting point is 01:21:44 Okay. Because I remember I was working in Brandon. Brian McCabe was traded to the Wheat Kings. The next year he was. went and played for the islanders and the whole team went in to watch and play and they were wearing those fish sticks. So somewhere that 95, 96 area.
Starting point is 01:21:58 I like the logo. Like it was a it was a menacing looking fish. There was the wave swirl. You had the stick and he was guarding the net and he looked very but they had these, the font and the lettering. Yeah. The swoosh. The swoosh was horrible. It looked like
Starting point is 01:22:14 somebody put it too close to the oven or something and the melting. Yeah. Highliner fish sticks. Yeah. we'll show you that in a moment. Stars and Avs. Brantanin. I go to Mike Keene. I think he played both.
Starting point is 01:22:27 Did he not win a Cups with Colorado? That's correct. Blues and Flames. Corey Stillman. Corey Stillman for me. Craig Conrad would have been there. Holmeister, good one there. And Troy Brower.
Starting point is 01:22:41 T.L. L. Keynes. Philly and Anaheim at the end, they made the big swap. Let's even go outside of that, because the Drysdale for Cateoche's Javis. Chris Bronger. Oh, very good. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:54 That's great. Yeah. Well done, guys. Good job, everybody. Oh, man. So Captain Highliner was a brand of fish sticks. You could buy out of the freezer at the grocery store, Jack. And that logo basically looked exactly like Captain Highliner.
Starting point is 01:23:09 But as Dino said, the logo wasn't that bad. It's the whole, I feel like I'm on mushrooms with that wave there. Like, am I looking at an Aurora Borealis? What's happening? And you were also, it was a color. A long time since the Islanders at that point had won Cops, but you were leaving a jersey that was synonymous with Stanley Cup wins. Right.
Starting point is 01:23:28 So anything was probably going to be an uphill battle. But that there, I don't know. That teal, I just don't. Somebody looked at it and said, oh, yeah, let's, yeah. I'm in. Print them. Like even the, even the lighthouse on the shoulder, it's maybe a little too disco, but you could.
Starting point is 01:23:43 That was a shout out, I think, today had a lighthouse project. Yeah, it's rink that they were trying to get built with their phony billionaire. was it Brian Wong or Wassman Wong? Wang, yeah, James. Can you find the Captain Highliner fish sticks? Because that would be, that would really put on this thing. A lot of work. How about some Ziggy Palfi?
Starting point is 01:23:59 Yeah, Ziggy Palfi in this year. With the Muley hanging out the back. Sorry, Jack, you're trying to do everything. On the hot spot here. Might be too hard to do. Don't worry about it. He's got the, you know what though? He's got the slicker on.
Starting point is 01:24:11 He's got that, the hat. He looks angry, hey. I'm telling. It's like, hey, you want some of this? Look at the way he's branded. fishing that hockey stick. It's going to shoot some fish into that net. Take it home.
Starting point is 01:24:24 You don't want to mess with the islanders if those are the islanders. But then it'd be like, what's with these swooshes? You don't ever, you, never mind. Keep your eyes off the swooshes. That's the thing. He'd be, he'd be silly. He's like, I can't believe I'm going to order these swooshes. Damn it.
Starting point is 01:24:39 What happened to straight lines? Why is that I'd be? Guess we're at sea. That's a goosh. That is a goose. They're not going to be bringing those back anytime soon, dude. I think, did they not. also, this is a lot, no, I think they brought the logo back, but with straight lines somewhere
Starting point is 01:24:54 in the last 20 years. Yeah, I believe there was some kind of a remake that wasn't as atrocious with the swoosh. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, that's your Islander update. Back to you, right? Fish Dix, Captain Highliner Jersey, Jack. You're now, uh, you're now informed. I'm going to pull this up. Are you pulling it up? Well, we're going to see how close to this. We've asked for a lot. We've asked for, I'll take the Ziggy Paul fees and you want more more music again. It's not really a contest, but there's Captain. Highliner right there. Hey, look it. Top right. That's him. Same guy. Oh, that guy's getting a lot of. I think so. That guy comes into Ports. There is a lineup.
Starting point is 01:25:31 Smells like fish. Since 1989. All right. Let's get to the World Baseball Classic was the final last night. This tournament has been captivating for some and not paying attention, not interested for others. Venezuela, your world champions as they shock the heavily favorite. Americans in Miami in front of a less pro-America crowd than you'd think Venezuela is the northern tip of South America, you know? Okay. There's a lot of Latin Americans in Miami.
Starting point is 01:26:03 It was a perfect storm. Let's watch the final out. You're trying not to cry here. How much does this mean for the Venezuelans? Just a hundred from the left side on the corner if you needed that one. And there's Eugenio Suarez, the mariner, who came up with a huge double in the top of the ninth that put the go-head run on the board. It was 2-0 Venezuela. The Americans hardly got to a base in this game. I think had three hits in the late stages of this contest. May have finished at three. A meager offensive
Starting point is 01:26:52 performance. The Venezuelan relievers were excellent. Erod was good as a starter. And there are your champions. Now, Mark DeRos is a guy that's been taking some direct hits and rightfully so. Oh, we're through to the quarterfinals. No, sir. You definitely aren't. And now you have to wait for the end of this Italy-Mexico game to see if you've moved on to the next round. They did not use their best reliever in the ninth inning with the tournament on the line. No hits, no runs, 10 strikeouts, 35 pitches over 100. He was thrown 102 against the Dominicans. Hitters were 0 for 12, 22 and a half Ks per nine in this tournament.
Starting point is 01:27:32 Yeah, I'm not going to use them. Mark Trose was asked about that. He said, well, I was going to use him in the ninth. Had we taken the lead he was going to come in? Oh, I see. If you'd taken the lead, the game would be over because you don't pitch to the. It was like Buck Showalter with the Orioles that year. Which reliever was it?
Starting point is 01:27:51 Well, I was saving him for the for the, except, you didn't get there. You never used your best. Who is this manager? Mark Doros is a great TV personality on MLB Network who I think smart, entertaining, funny. He's not going to be getting the nod to come skipping the bigs anytime soon. So he's just a TV guy? Yes. Oh, he played.
Starting point is 01:28:11 Oh, he played a very nice career. Yeah, like 16 years. But like, has he coached? He's not managed. This is his first gig. And the whole thing about the W.C. Is like these Latin American countries, there's everything to them because they,
Starting point is 01:28:22 they spend their whole careers not in their home country. This is the one chance they get to play for their flag, their country. Teams change. Who cuts your checks, changes. What never changes is the country you're from. And so it means so much these Latin American countries in the U.S. is like, yeah, yeah, we care.
Starting point is 01:28:37 And then they go pick a manager that's never managed before that makes some egregious. mistakes that, well, at the end of the day, they finished second again. The same score they lost to Japan in three years ago, three to two. This was the tweet for the day. An exhausted Mark DeRosa pours himself a cup of coffee after staying up all night, making lineup adjustments for game two. I know, Mark, it was a single nation final.
Starting point is 01:29:00 Poor Mark. Excellent broadcaster. Don't know, he's getting the invite back. It's probably a great guy, too. I think he's probably a really good guy. Yeah, probably a decent fellow. Donates the charities. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:13 Yeah. Puts his trash out on the right days. You like food? Love it. Let's get into this. The master's dinner that they serve, the winner the prior year, he curates the menu. That's right. Let's take a dance through Rory McElroy, completed the Grand Slam a year ago at a guest, the national.
Starting point is 01:29:30 And his winners dinner, only guys that have won the masters are invited to you know. Are you going this year? Because I know what was it? I can't make it. I got it. Yeah. Start with the appetizers, Jack. We're going to start you off with a peach and ricotta flatbread.
Starting point is 01:29:44 Hmm. Okay. Rock shrimp tempera. Okay. So deep fried shrimp. Call it what it is, Rory. Bacon wrap dates. Skip the dates.
Starting point is 01:29:55 Grilled elk sliders. Bacon wrapped. What appetizer? Bacon wrapped? Anything. Scalops. Come on. Now, your main is going to be a yellowfin tuna.
Starting point is 01:30:08 Carpaccio, foie gras, toasted baguette, chives. It gets better. Wagu, filet mignon, and or seared salmon. Oh, I think you see. I heard you're sweating now in your mouth. No, he's, he's close. He's all right. The main's the winner here.
Starting point is 01:30:27 Yeah. And then you're sticky toffee putting at the end, vanilla ice cream and warm toffee sauce. That's fine. Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. I want Rhett to break this down because you and I don't get to see. fancy menus like this like Brett Wood over his years of dining at five-star hotels and fancy restaurants as a professional athlete.
Starting point is 01:30:44 I would have, uh, what I have? I'd have some beef jerky from Will Hawks. Yep. In, up in Leduc, I'd have some cheese buns from Glamorgan.
Starting point is 01:30:54 Are you going with the ribeye from Bontan or going with some ribbo? You know what? Tomahawks, the big tall hawks. Oh, I have the special day. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, boy, roar.
Starting point is 01:31:05 By the way, shout out to the Canadian at the players. kids never taking a lesson moved from India as a youngster to Canada went to a golf dome in Ontario with his dad and just made almost a million American for finishing in the top 10 players cool story that we probably should touch on a Monday I'd like to see good
Starting point is 01:31:25 Canadian stories Dino yep how do you feel about you know you're on social you're an influencer I am do you enjoy involving your kids, you're like keeping them out of it. Because I've seen both sides where it's like, don't make it about your kids. They're going to have their whole lives. Don't, don't put their
Starting point is 01:31:44 digital footprint on the internet. The kids kind of want to be in it, but I'm inclined to keep them out of it. At Robinson Truck and Trailer repair, they're not shy about using their kids. Is your truck fucked? Are your tires fucked? Maybe your trailers fucked. Maybe your hoses are fucked. Your trucks fucked. Starting point is 01:32:16 Well, it got them on Barnburner. I think those kids are probably happy to say, you know, we'll help grow the brand. We're going to inherit dads business. We love working on tools. I was going to say, I feel like the Robinson boys. Yeah, they're the next generation of Robinson truck and trailer repair. There's two boys another way around a wrench, huh? Nothing wrong with that.
Starting point is 01:32:35 Love it. Nothing wrong with that. I was not fixing trucks. But they've got some busted knuckles coming their way over the years and are clearly equipped to fire out some F bombs when that happens. They're fitting in the shop. They've been around the shop. You've got a tongue like that.
Starting point is 01:32:48 You've been working on the trucks with the old man and his crew. They're not having any foie gras. There's no bacon wrap dates. They got baker wrap bacon. That's what they got. By the way, your truck's not fucked. It's nice. Mine's great.
Starting point is 01:33:03 My truck's not fucked. either. Oh, it's awesome. Village Honda, the Pinder Report, Wednesday, March 18th. The $2 million big buying event is back. Maybe I'm appraised. popped into my hand right there. I sent you some photos there, Jack. I found some fish sticks. We can start with Ziggy, Ziggy Palti.
Starting point is 01:33:44 He had great style. Had the, and it was, we looked at, what, moultz two days ago, last week, whenever it was. Yeah. I think it was tight on the side. Oh, yeah, yeah. Some guys just used to grow it out. It's not really a mullet.
Starting point is 01:33:56 But his was, it was flowing, cascading with the, I mean, it was a thing of beauty with the curls. and did you go to L.A. at the end? Yep. That's what he used him. He used big Ziggy for the islanders and the kings. I mean, look at this beautiful bastard.
Starting point is 01:34:13 Got the letter on. I think he, if anybody made the fish sticks respectable and made him look good, it was Zygman. There was not many that could pull it off, but there it is, Jack. Thoughts on the drip. I love it.
Starting point is 01:34:26 He's got a big window going, but that's all right. Yeah, a bit of a windshield there. He is a good player. We talked about 40 goals, 40 goals, 40 years. And the thing with that jersey, you start slapping enough stuff on it, you start, okay, maybe it isn't that. Well, they also cropped out the big swoop at the bottom, which is the worst part. You don't see the swoop.
Starting point is 01:34:44 Now, Mick Vakota. Oh, wow. So that's what was on the back. The numbers are all weird and pointing. Yeah, the numbers are slanted and the fish hooks on the numbers. What's on the shoulders, boys? That's the lighthouse. It's a lighthouse.
Starting point is 01:34:58 Because they're the islanders and the fishermen. It all plays into the. But again, there's a moor and. There's swoops going through it. Yeah, it's a lot. And then they did bring it back, again, in mid show, the reverse retro stuff that came out. And see straight lines.
Starting point is 01:35:13 Yeah, that's yes. It's not quite, it's still angled. And they got rid of all that teal. Like the teal below that angled stripe was what, that would have been the mistake. They cleaned it up a bit. I think if they just went with stripes, logo, they'd have maybe got away with it. I'm kind of it up for you. Who are these guys?
Starting point is 01:35:31 I was just thinking that. Is that Corey Cross on the left? When was this? I don't know. Reverse retro was like that's when the Flames did the blasty color scheme, but with the Flames logo three years ago? Is that what it was? Two years ago?
Starting point is 01:35:44 I don't recognize a single dude. I don't recognize any of these guys. Any of these jokers. Next. So that's, yeah, that's it. That's all I had for you. That's on scrabbling through, but there he is class. The big complaint, because you made the good point,
Starting point is 01:36:01 the logo is actually fine. The swoops weird, but the islanders have a, like, there is a color scheme. When you say islanders, everyone thinks of. Teal has never been in that. Teal is San Jose. Yeah. Teal never belonged anywhere near an islander's. And you could maybe pass that off as turquoise, but when you put it next to dark blues,
Starting point is 01:36:19 it's going to look bright. It's just going to look like a teal. Yes. Mick Vakota, do you know anything about him? What is the, what was the order? Charles Wong, Huang. Yeah. He and Mike Milbury.
Starting point is 01:36:34 That's what I think of when I see, though. Yeah, and then Garst Snow right after. Are the, I mean, Charle wore that, Barard wore that, Redden. What a time. What a time. And studs, Ziggy Paul, for the only guy that could pull it off.
Starting point is 01:36:49 Outdoor dental. They use lasers. Don't be scared. Don't be afraid. Because it's the Soleil Laser. Dentistry with no needles, no drills, no stress. Salaia laser treatment, an excellent solution for people who's just,

We got a shot prop for the flames and blues, and we've got a little overtime. Big game hunting here between the stars and the avalanche. You want heavy hitting battles? Starting point is 01:39:29 I thought he really popped against Detroit on Monday. That line with him Frost and Coronado was their best line by a considerable margin. Backlin only needs one shot. I'm asking for two from Gridden, two from Coleman, and two from Calgary product, screwed the Oilers, build him a statue in Calgary, Dylan Holloway. The offer sheet. Yes.
Starting point is 01:39:48 Yeah, we don't want to pay Dylan $2 million. Oh, you had a point per game this year. Shoot. Love you, Delotella, Ellen. Gotta get a jersey, guys, right? Just rub the salt in on the Oilers, greasers. There would be a Holloway Oilers jersey out there that would be. I didn't shouldn't that one.
Starting point is 01:40:04 Yeah. I just want the offer sheet to. Yeah, I know. Yeah. PTSD involved. When I was looking at the blues and they're youngsters, right? It's like, you forgot. Oh, yeah, right.
Starting point is 01:40:14 Like Holloway was 14th. Broberg went eighth overall. Don't want to pay those two first rounders? Odd. No, anytime you can get Jeff Skinner. Always comes back. It's the Oilers. There you have it, folks.
Starting point is 01:40:29 Bet 365. The Bet 365, three goal, early payout. When your team goes up by three, you get paid. It's that simple. Download the app today. You must be 19 or older. please play responsibly. That's how that goes.
Starting point is 01:40:43 I'm going to hit this thing right here. You doing okay over there? Oh, sure. Was Rhett sneezing on that yesterday? You senters of Calgary will receive, they'll benefit from the super chats that come in today. We've got a few to get to. How it works?
Starting point is 01:40:59 You watch in the show, you put a comment in, put some money down. It's not easy. Then we'll probably rip you. Oh, look at this name. Go Flames Go, 1989. Coming from BC to see the flames and lightning and the kings. Pinder, want to go for a pint?
Starting point is 01:41:15 What's a pint? Do you mean four pints? If you go to, it's not even Dutton's anymore, right? It's the hockey house now, yeah. It's still Dutton's. Yeah, it'll be Dutton's forever. Yeah, he'll be hard to find. But someone will be yelling about offer sheets with two hands full of pints.
Starting point is 01:41:36 Yeah. What do you lose? He'll be on his phone looking at the out-of-town scoreboard paying attention to Chicago and Canuck highlights. That's right. Yeah. You'll find them. Go Flames Go.
Starting point is 01:41:46 Good luck with that. Trying to look at the schedule. Which, if I'm going to be to these games. LA. Mama bears back in town. I probably got some runway. I don't know for Tampa, though. Tampa's Sunday.
Starting point is 01:41:59 Yeah, she's not back yet. Dear. Camels today. Camels? She was riding camels. Really? It's not a. I know.
Starting point is 01:42:08 Yeah. Actually. Well, that's your wife. I'm not going to make any. kind of joke. Feels like a missed opportunity. Yep. There's handsome Dan.
Starting point is 01:42:17 $20 for the Detroit game. Oh, yeah, that's right. Hanson's vacation rentals doing $10 for every Flames goal this year. Yeah, I guess we miss them. Have a fantastic day, buddies. Thank you, Dan. Or see what,
Starting point is 01:42:29 good, Dan. There you go. You know, he could have just kept that $20. I don't know. We've even noticed. No, but he's a man of ethics and morals, and he's a man of his word, unlike Jack, who does not pay his debts.
Starting point is 01:42:40 Ken, 20 bucks. Is it possible? that the third overall pick is better for Calgary. We are in need of a two-way D-man, like Verhoff, Reed, or Smiths. We need to be in next year's draft. McKenna may push us to Mucky Middle. 2027 is a better first overall.
Starting point is 01:42:56 Yeah, I'm not too worried about that. I watched Connor Bardard and his rookie year not push the Chicago Blackhawks into the Mucky Middle. He's a very good player. Yeah. McElhont-Sullabrini's first year, he did not push the Sharks in the Mucky Mill. Matthew Schaefer has,
Starting point is 01:43:07 but I think you just want best player available and the higher you pick, the more likely you're going to get your favorite guy. Flames have a lot of needs. I mean, two-a-D, man. Yeah, they'd be sure. They need a superstar. They need a center.
Starting point is 01:43:20 There's not many of those in this draft class in the top five. Yeah. Probably zero. But I appreciate, hey, Ken, you're big picture thinking. It's his avatar going on there. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. Give me a moment.
Starting point is 01:43:33 Thanks, Ken. Mr. Watts. That's my name. That name again is Mr. Watts. Phyllis! Jack, how is the. Reed Biggle going. Of course, Jack is
Starting point is 01:43:44 taken up reading. He's doing a lot of reading. He's trying to take it up. I regret buying this book. I don't even know. I was so bored, I decided to buy a book now. It feels like a mistake. It does. Kids, never try reading. I think we did the book club yesterday.
Starting point is 01:44:02 And you'd said you'd read chapter one of this book and you'd then read it again. So you can really have a good understanding of what was about to happen. And then you haven't read it since. And lost the notes that he made. And now you feel like, if I'm going to read this thing, I'm going to start all over again. So you're going to have to chapter one this thing three times. That might have been a month ago now. So the read biggle, how was it going? Slow. Is that fair? Yeah. This is the savers rebuild. This is going to take a decade and a half for him
Starting point is 01:44:30 to get through a book. I think it's, you know what, that people are invested. They know. They really want you to read. Reading is a great. skill, Jack. I don't doubt it. It's just we're trying to give you that skill. I know. It could be argued that maybe they're having fun at your expense because they know that there's no chance of you are listening. I don't think that could be it. It's the Reed Biggle. The Reed Biggle. Thank you, Mr. Watts. Oh, oh, 699. Yeah, I've never done the Super Chat, but there must be some kind of a trick
Starting point is 01:45:08 to it. You go, you must be clicking too quickly. Hit enter before your comments. Yeah. Yeah. Does he have a follow-up? Because he's given the six and none and nine to the kids. Yeah. 32, which would be a wolf.
Starting point is 01:45:20 There's a watch there for sure. Maybe he's just saying, hey, guys, it's Wolf's night. Maybe. Maybe. Yeah, maybe. Although I wonder if it would be coolly. There's just, I just want to thank you guys. I was able to get my cadre card signed a cross-iron because of your show.
Starting point is 01:45:36 Don't think us. Thank cross-iron mills. Yeah, cross-iron mills put that on. We didn't coordinate that. Uh, you're welcome, by the way, and shut up. But, uh, it was a Colorado card you got signed. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:49 Because yeah, if he, if you didn't get it signed then, it'll be a lot harder now. It'll be trickier now, man. You're probably not going to see him as much as he loves cross iron mills. He loves that food court. Probably never get that. It might be a while before he gets back there. That's sad because he's missing out.
Starting point is 01:46:05 I love going into the Cabela's up there, just looking at the fish tank. Have you ever done that, Jack? Calbellas to where we're in Nashville. Just look at all the All the fish. It's a weird one with the long nose. I got the little pellet gun game. I don't know if it's a pellet gun, but it's
Starting point is 01:46:21 We know what you're talking about. It's a great spot. You're welcome, Justin. It's back. Justin, another five bucks. This flame season, who they trade seeing if they finish 31st, draft lottery, who they draft.
Starting point is 01:46:37 Exciting to watch more than if they were pushing for a, playoff spot. I mean, yes to no. I think big picture, this is a very exciting time. But sometimes when you sit down and you watch period hockey, you're like, oh boy, did that watch me? So I think the on the ice
Starting point is 01:46:49 is not as scintillating as it would be if you're chasing a playoff spot. But in terms of like cultivating hope, I'll say this. If it were because we've done that the last few years, pushing for a playoff spot. If you're watching a team
Starting point is 01:47:05 that you believe has a shot once they get there, that's one thing. Sure. But if you were watching last year's flames, well, maybe they sneak in, oh, eight days in jet fuel. Yeah. Kind of the, then yes, I agree with Justin. I do have concerns, but I'll keep them to myself. Regarding pushing for a playoff spot.
Starting point is 01:47:24 No, no. Have those concerns. No, the, Oh, the lottery is. The excitement. Because I think there's going to be excitement for the stretch run and how they finish. I do fear that, oh, they got this bad schedule, this, that. If they play their way out of 30 first.
Starting point is 01:47:42 You get to the draft lottery night, say, hey, look at this boy. Might not be, I'm ever, but I'm going to keep it to myself. By the way, we talked about Aou 32. It is looking projected to be a coolly start. And I'm just quickly looking through the lines here. Zeri moved to the Strom Syringovic line, Victor Oliveson, the invisible man. He goes to the fourth line with Pospisole and Klopka. That means Beecher's out and Lomburg.
Starting point is 01:48:13 Lomburg is out. and it will not be the debut for Tyson Grocery's wearing number 39, famously worn by Doug Gilmore here. So they also Cam Talbot, Anthony Mantha and Matt Coronado, who were briefly before Swamp in 2017, per pike. So it's got to be right. I have some thoughts, but I'm going to keep them to myself. Regarding, I said yesterday that I wasn't going to critique lines just to go play.
Starting point is 01:48:40 So I'm not going to do it now. I like Zeri off the fourth line. Yeah, not going to do that. That's not going to be the point. you're getting too. There you go. That's the super chats. Thanks for your generosity.
Starting point is 01:48:50 We'll make sure that that might get to the the youth centers of Calgary. Doing good work over there. Helping out kids. What's wrong with that? Nothing is great. Gotta love that. We'll do this as we get out of here.
Starting point is 01:49:04 The Tankathon, which again kind of gets to what I was saying about Justin. Hey, draft lottery. We'll get some guys together. Yeah, we've got to hit the lottery ball still. Don't blame the, don't blame tankathon. Don't blame us. No. the system, I guess. There you see it. Flames,
Starting point is 01:49:18 two wins. They're doing their part. No, Tankathon, because they do the standings every night. They change. They changed the odds. Have they factored in Betman's visit and the elicit payment of cash under the table to Gary to win the lottery? I don't know. Okay. It seems unlikely with how this is gone. How could they know? It's all. We've done this many, many, many, many times. And the most common, the most common occurrence is that the flames
Starting point is 01:49:44 tumble a spot or two. Yeah. Come on. And if that's back tomorrow, you leave the room if we don't win this. Oh my God. Yeah. So New Jersey moves up nine spots. See, the Flames had 3.5% chances to win.
Starting point is 01:50:03 The Leafs and the Devils win the multiple draws. The Leafs go to second. The Devils pick first. Vancouver falls two spots to three. The flames fall two spots to four. That is, might save Bradshaw living's job if that happens. So that, like I say, that would be excited.
Starting point is 01:50:20 It's good to be excited. Mm-hmm. Maybe we had to start winning game. The 18th pick, that's the thing, this Vegas pick, man. It keeps climbing. I like that. Jersey from 9 to 1. San Joseo picked back to back here, 1617,
Starting point is 01:50:38 because they got the old Jake Wallman pick from Evanton. Detroit's pick goes to St. Lou. That's for Falk. Hmm. All right. So fourth. It is a Yeah, I don't know
Starting point is 01:50:53 I've seen a lot of different lists I think McKenna is number one on most of them But it certainly is in consensus And we saw Verhof in the one hole at times A lot of twos I'm seeing them now at four and five on some lists Is he not even one of the top two defensemen off the board Where does Stenberg go Feels to me like it's Stenberg
Starting point is 01:51:11 McKenna Then a little dicey In that order or one of those two One of those two And then Depending on the team. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:51:20 How, how bought in are you on Verho? Yeah. And then it's, yeah. We'll see. Is it Reed and Carls moving up a ton this year, Deman? And the centers you don't see until 10, 11, 12. Mahaltra, Tining Lawrence left the Sitchell midseason to go to BU, I believe.
Starting point is 01:51:41 That hasn't gone. What's been rats take about what takes the pressure off? What spot takes pressure off Conroy? Three takes it off Conroy. Well, and, and, and, I think at that time, there looked like it was a big three and then a drop. I don't know that that's the case anymore. It feels like there's four or five that are being rotated through top threes now.
Starting point is 01:51:57 It's like anything. Nervous Nellie's like me. It's too much time. Yeah. Okay, this is what I like. Are you sure? Well, why are you saying it like that? Do I have double check?
Starting point is 01:52:06 Do I need to look back? What have you seen? What have you heard? Oh, geez. And then you're, well, maybe I don't have a top three. Maybe I have a top. What? McKenna did what?
Starting point is 01:52:16 I thought it's, they just need to, just, happen already. Yeah, I'd be okay if the draft lottery was tonight. May 5th. Buckle up. Like behind the scenes. We ought to do a live stream or what do we doing for the draft lottery
Starting point is 01:52:31 show that night? It's going to be awful video that's going to exist because they're going to fall to four and it's just going to be us on the internet going for fuck sakes oh and everybody, look at these Calgary Lou. Oh, see, suck it.
Starting point is 01:52:47 I would say there's a 13.6% chance that video is phenomenal and we are pumping fisting. Even higher. You've got to do water. Backroom deal. Yeah, I will do something. There's some people working on things. We could have something with the public potentially.
Starting point is 01:53:04 Oh, boy. Not with you. We don't need your. Some more. Some of the public. Peak sadness in a group. Jack, what if I told you I could get you hammered and get you some free food while we do this?
Starting point is 01:53:14 Nice. He's in, see? Yeah. And nine hot dogs. are you doing the 999 this i was going to ask my buddies were asking about the 9 9 i've been banned i've been told i need to call mcclaude law in their family law department if i do that again banned by who your wife yes that's correct i think you need some it needs to be the redemption tour it does jack needs to get it done all mc i'm not doing it again i'll drink 10 beers that's fine but i'm not i'm not doing the dogs again yeah my buddies were asked about that it was a soft performance by jack it was
Starting point is 01:53:47 my friends are no better. We had to go out after. That's the thing. He was too, that's the thing. He's like, we're, come out,
Starting point is 01:53:55 we're going out. I'm like, I'm on the floor naked in my basement, like shaking. You don't go out after the, that's your night. 9-9-9-9. That is the peak of Everest.
Starting point is 01:54:04 It ended up being someone's birthday and we had to. You had to not do the 9-99. Priorities, Jack. I did have one buddy that did it and went out. And that was, that's some impressive. That's Herculane.
Starting point is 01:54:15 Yeah. Yeah. It's like, I just wouldn't I would not be able to do it your body doesn't want to do it I'm a grazer I'm not a bang I could never
Starting point is 01:54:27 and any fluid let alone beer a carbonated beverages and then it's not how I'm built you would think we also had great fortune that because it was like 45 minutes in the first inning like there were umpires were going
Starting point is 01:54:46 reviews managers were yelling And I'm like, this is unbelievable. We're way ahead of pace. Then you hit the wall and you have to imagine someone in the town square about to get hung. If you don't eat nine hot dogs, then you can power your way through. Power of the mind, Jack. What do we think tonight? I think the blues are playing pretty well right now and they're a better roster.
Starting point is 01:55:03 I think the flames will work hard. They've been very good at home, much better than they have of the road. Hofer's been great. Coolies. Sabasur. I think we got a close one that the blues. We get one more. Yeah, this feels like empty net or loss, maybe.
Starting point is 01:55:19 Sure. Feels like a tight one, maybe an empty netter lost tonight. Chaco? I will say three, two blues. That's what I was thinking. Antimeta would be four, too, sure. How was the show today for people that tuned in? Retro is under the weather?
Starting point is 01:55:34 Yeah, I was worried about our buddy. I'm glad he's just sick. Yeah, because to not hear from him was the scary part, but I think he just was not good and shut her down and said, don't wake. He was feeling a little weird yesterday. You could tell. He's, doesn't, if he's talking about not feeling good, he's not making it up.
Starting point is 01:55:51 He was not feeling good and then ate two pounds of jerky. Yes. And was coming off 24 hours or 40 hours of fasting and cooked the goose twice in the mat. And funny, the power of the show. I did receive a message from the jerky folks in Ladoog. Really? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:56:12 You getting some forest fees or word gets around. Word gets around. That happened to us in the same. Ascotoon with the white unhauled popcorn. Bad news is oiler fans, obviously. But yes. Oh, that one's perfect. They can send us a thank you.
Starting point is 01:56:30 It didn't get to that point. It was just kind of, oh, so this happened. So jerky, eh? Yeah, that's right. That's right. So you have a food podcast? No. Oh, kind of.
Starting point is 01:56:40 Yeah, my, my, my thing is, I need a hard reboot. I need a power cycle here on the old thing. That's what Rhett needed today. That's right, but we'll see you. See you, buddies.
