Well, here we are, once again, sitting in studio the day after a Calgary Flames victory.
It's just becoming commonplace.
It's old hat.
It's happened twice now.
What do you think that is old hat?
It would be comfortable.
It's usual.
It's becoming old hat.
Yeah.
If you have an old hat, you put it on just fits.
It feels normal.
Is that good?
Yeah.
Is it good to have old hat?
Something that feels comfortable.
Jack had that stupid P hat and it was looked old.
It's terrible.
I hate new hats.
Yeah.
That's why old hats are good.
Old hats are good.
Yeah.
They fit.
I like your hat though.
It does look good, but it just, it's like getting a new pair of skates for me.
Yeah.
New hat.
Just.
Yeah.
Really got to break it in.
Are you two is, how's your, your curve?
Is it too curved?
I don't know.
It's a heavy curve.
It's an aggressive curve.
Is it aggressive?
Yeah.
It's a driving the tractor curve.
That's a nice.
1980s.
Yeah.
All cap curve.
Yeah.
That's what I like it.
Yeah.
Sorry to everybody watching on the YouTube.
It's really just for a audience of three here.
So we're into it.
Let's get right to it.
Opening statements for McLeod Law.
You know Peter Klein of McLeod Law.
He's the personal injury guy.
You know, Shane King.
You know, everybody at McLeod Law, I see,
because I watch things.
I'm observant.
I see things.
I see other law firms out there.
Uh-oh.
I see them.
Uh-huh.
It's like, oh, you're.
Pretty special, are you?
Is that what you're telling me?
You're pretty big deal.
You're not in Calgary, though, are you?
Like, if I was to contact you right now, are you going to talk directly to me?
No, 416.
Hey.
416.
I don't know about this.
Oh, you know.
Area code, but that one's not from.
That's not my area code.
It's not the 403.
How about this?
Peter Klein, 403-2543864.
Calgary-based, Calgary Roots run deep.
They care about our city.
They are in our city.
They are from our city.
And that is all you need to know.
They are the best of the best,
the cloud dash law.
Dot com.
You're observing me.
I am.
Yeah.
Well,
especially today because I don't have my,
my eyes are going to be watering.
Oh, you for your sunnies?
Yeah.
Well, I've got these two studios,
dueling studios.
I'm leaving something somewhere.
I got an extra set over there if you want.
Oh, yeah.
Double down.
No.
Yeah.
I've seen people double down for.
I could be,
I could do the,
the double down.
I've done that before, as I recall.
4 and 0 are the Calgary Flames for the third time in franchise history.
It's, it actually matches a franchise best.
It's kind of a low number for franchise best, isn't it?
Yeah, feels low.
It's a good start for this group.
For the Cracken, that's what I predict.
Maybe not.
Sure, Vegas. Oh, wow, four in a row.
But for a team that's been around for a while, you'd think you'd maybe have a bit of a
more of a rip-roar and start.
No, a four-game winning streak is not uncommon at all.
Most teams will have one every single year.
This one just happens to be the beginning of the season.
It's start.
Good work, Phil.
right at the start.
Well, you saw how hard they were working in camp.
They knew they'd come out of the gate talks, right?
It matters.
Yeah.
Yeah, it matters to them for sure.
Dallas is also 4 and O.
Yep.
Dallas, Calgary, top two teams and the NHL overall standing.
Three and O team and two of the team as well,
because Tampa had a game post-bowl and they're 2-0.
That's noodles is pick, sexy pick.
I like that.
Is it?
Because everyone's down in Tampa, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And even for Dallas, their best is six in all.
So maybe they deserve more credit.
So now you start,
that's how you finish.
Is it?
Right.
One more time.
It's not how you start.
It's how you finish.
Okay.
So what did we think of the matchup last night?
Thought the goalie was good?
Golly looked good.
We've liked the goalies.
And it's the second game with Wolf where he's faced some volume,
but he hasn't had to make like five bell saves.
It's because those defensemen aren't the kinds of
guys that are going to chase after and try and do too much with the puck.
They're playing their position.
They know what they are.
It's honestly,
since the first period against Vancouver,
or tweeted it last night,
like they've been really hard to generate high danger chances against.
And you compare,
contrast that to like Chicago played against Calvary last year in like December,
January.
And Marksram had to make like three or four breakaway saves.
Like how many breakaways the opponents even had this year?
Yeah.
Like once you get past that first period against Vancouver,
where they lost their heads after a hit.
they didn't like and look lost in their own zone.
They've been allowing a lot of shots from a long way out.
That's about it.
Remember last week, Jamie McClennan was talking about Wolf.
He said, you know, he kind of looked small to me.
And I think what he, it wasn't a literal small.
It was the way he was in the net.
He was a little too deep in his net.
So that it was not to.
And watching that game last night is, okay, he's, he doesn't look small.
He's, he's out there.
He's playing more aggressive.
He's looked efficient.
He looked very comfortable, didn't it?
in the right spot all the time.
It's a good start for these two goals.
First shot on net, I believe, was from Connor Bedard.
And then there were, what, seven of them all together for
Bardard last night.
Seven shots.
This is kind of a breakaway.
You know, it's, now this is a power play for the flames.
Power play needs a little bit of work.
It's up to win the score.
We're savvy.
Get him out of town, would he?
Thought he was gone.
But he looked good.
And there's, there's some style, it's style points.
Yeah.
It's like, I feel, I'm feeling it right now.
I'm not fighting it.
I think he said in an interview.
He said he saw, he was seeing the puck early and felt comfortable.
Yeah.
And now look, at the end of the year, Philly and Chicago may not be playoff teams.
One of them may be.
Maybe they're surprised him both are, but he's stopped that's been put in front of him.
He's, what, in 960 last night?
He's 940 for the season.
Something along those lines.
You're going to blame Betman for the schedule.
Can't play.
Can't blame Wolf.
I know that.
He's just playing the teams in front of him.
The guards pretty highly regarded.
Yeah, it's all big, you know, whoop-dy-do about this guy.
Everybody loves this guy.
So here they are.
No one picked them to go 4 and O.
No one picked them to have this type of a start.
The coach was asked about it last night.
Of the things, what's contributing?
Obviously, they're working hard and all of that,
but Coach Ryan Huska on this impressive beginning to the season.
We've had goal tending.
That's a start for us.
We've had some timely goals that we've been able to score.
And I think the guys are committed to,
playing the right way away from the puck.
So we've become a harder team to play against where,
hey, listen, last year, we gave up a lot of odd man rushes
early on in the season, and we were chasing a lot of games.
This way, I feel like it's the other way around.
And when we do get ourselves loose, we've had some of the older guys
that have really done a good job of reeling everybody back in.
We have to use four lines and we have to use six defensemen
because we're asking the guys to play a hard brand of hockey
where they have to be skating all the time.
So you can't rely on, you know,
nine forwards, if you will.
Everybody's getting an opportunity to play.
So I think with that, some guys that maybe usually play lesser minutes
are feeling a little bit more valued right now,
and they're feeling they can be difference makers as well,
and that's probably why we've seen multiple guys now on the score sheet.
Took a shot of Markstrom there, right?
A bit.
Sort of, right?
Finally getting gold sending.
Is that what he said?
Markstrom was like top three in the league and golds, David, I've expected.
Finally had some of the little stop.
part of last year.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
You're playing from behind.
First part of our team was out the door.
It's kind of true.
All of it's kind of true.
There were a lot of first shots going in.
There were a lot of odd man rushes.
There were a lot of guys that didn't want to be here.
Markson was great.
He held them in a lot of stuff in the fall in winter.
Because I didn't think there was organized defensively as they've looked early.
Slotting.
So defensively, they've, no, it is hard to take.
It's not defensive.
It's just.
It's general game.
When you've got everyone buying in and you are and your fourth line has a role and they know how
they're supposed to play.
And your defenseman, I think, do know what's expected of them.
Like, sorry, Jake Bean, we don't need your rush on the puck.
No.
Baha play physical ball.
Same thing.
Can we call them young rat just for the future?
No.
Uh-oh.
Oh, I thought.
Young Sheldon.
Young Reds.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah.
Terrible.
Terrible.
Damn red.
Anyway, I think it's, for Huska,
it's got to be rewarding.
Then maybe, I don't know,
easy, not the right word,
but everyone knows what they're supposed to do.
And they're all buying in to go do it.
Yeah.
They've been hardworking and structured.
And honestly, a lot of people,
including us, we expected that.
This is a group that wasn't going to be
not prepared for games.
They worked their tails off last year.
and now they're riding a goal-tending heater
and a shooting percentage heater
and they've won four in a row.
Your biggest concern going to the year
would have been a slow start
where you lose the interest in the buy-in
from some of your veteran guys
that are going, oh, this rebuild stuff is for the birds.
Yeah, points and wins, losses,
just the overall mood.
Yes.
If everyone's telling them,
this is a rebuilding season,
you're a non-playoff team,
and then you're one in five.
Yeah.
Here we are.
You can keep trotting out all the statements.
And they had that,
last year, right? The October was just miserable. They played the outdoor game, I want to say
November 1st or 2nd. And then finally after that, they played, start playing some hockey.
Jack, I'm going to pivot a little bit. I want to, because Justin Kirkland was a guy that
got to go on the preseason, was not going to be on the team, didn't make the team,
injuries happen, he gets called up and he plays. He's, what, 28 years old. This is not a,
this is not a fresh-faced prospect.
He's drafted a decade ago. It's a guy that's been- Just scored his first goal.
gets a taste, almost scored a goal again,
similar to the way he scored in Edmonton a few nights ago.
But here was Coach Huska.
Kirkland's got a fan in Ryan Huska.
It's a 3-1 game.
At that time, the game's over.
And that was one of the big things in the room that the guys were excited about, too.
You see that.
You saw Blake Coleman early on.
We had defensemen trying to block shots late.
That's important because those are the things that win you hockey games.
So for Justin, it wasn't just one.
He's trying to get in the lane.
trying to be a difference and he's trying to stay and I love that about him. Yeah, well, he knows
him well. He's had him for three years of stocks and then in Colonna with Lambert as well. I mean,
there's a lot of guys who are like, what the heck's Justin Kirkland? Hask is not one of them.
They know this guy well. I thought about you. You say it all the time. You can get in front of
10 years. You can, you can block pucks. You can get you get out there and throw your body.
And he's right. There's 15, 16 seconds left. It's three to one. So, but you know what?
I'm on the ice right now to end this hockey game. And so was Coronado.
Like those guys were used at that part of the game.
I mean, I love it.
I love when a coach throws a bone to a player and the player,
I'm on it.
Got it.
Even though the bone is not.
There's not a lot of meat left on the bone.
There's not much.
But look at them, right?
It's the bone, the tibular or the fibula?
Because he's blocking a bunch of.
There's both and you don't want to break either.
Coleman did take one there off of his bone.
We'll see.
Inside of the what, left leg?
Something like that, yeah.
it's funny because what's infectious what what would have to have happened for just and kirkland to be up in the first week of the season well yet a guy claimed on waivers and a center hurt mismanagement he's third in line for these minutes third in line for these minutes right mismanagement that's what it is but it's impressive but my depth right it's you know and my point isn't so much the depth or or or or kirkland it's just it's that infection there's guys blocking shots Coleman did it he's doing it you love C
seeing that. And when you see it, remember those
those years, a couple years ago.
They'd score a goal and it was kind of
flat.
Then you swap something like that.
It's, you know the guys are bought in then.
How different is this culture this year?
Yes.
Than the Darryl year at this time.
Like, oh my God, these guys, there's something wrong.
Like they don't like each other. They don't want to hang out
together. They don't want to come to work.
There's rain clouds in the Saddle Dome
following all these players.
And this year, I mean,
wins certainly are the greatest medication for all of the culture stuff, but it's a totally
different thing.
And so whether it's your seventh center in the organization or your number one, everyone is
pulling the rope the same direction.
Very surprising.
I will say this as a side.
Very surprising to get a win after a turkey dinner.
Not easy.
What is the trip to fan?
How long does that take?
Well, long enough because those are heavy.
Those are big fellows and they're, they're machines and they need calories.
So their intake is high volume.
They would have had a Monday turkey dinner too.
That's what I mean.
Do kids still like gravy and stuff?
Is that still a thing?
Oh, damn.
Yeah.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah, calories.
You guys aren't just doing protein shakes for Thanksgiving dinner?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I mean, I know what Retzero was.
Yeah.
So.
Gravy protein.
Go for two dinners.
One of the guys at the front of that.
It's the gravy boat to protein check.
It's my favorite kind of boat.
I love that boat.
You had one in your garage.
Yeah. Rasmus Anderson, he's a leader of this team, has been for a while even more so now.
Here was his thoughts afterwards on this 4-0 start.
Our system is that, you know, we reload hard and we don't give too much up.
And, you know, except for the first period in Vancouver, I thought we've done an unbelievable job with that.
And, you know, that's the reason why we're 4 and O.
And, you know, we work hard for each other and we reload and we got each other's back.
We block shots.
I mean, look at Kirkland shift.
You know, that's the character we're having this group.
We all work hard for each other, and when you work hard, you know, you tire teams out.
And I think our third periods have been really good in all four games we've played.
And, yeah, we wear teams down.
They do.
They're working their tails off.
Harder to do when it's, you lost three in a row.
It's February and you're out of a playoff spot.
But they are putting it all out there like it's a playoff series or no.
When the coach preaches a certain way of playing, and then you play that,
way and you get results and results and see boy it's buying keep winning keep winning why not stop
winning because then you have to have those questions yeah they don't hear these runs last year
do we recall that like when you look four games in you're like god this like people that are
going to always talked about way gotlets yeah they did really well in there they had two four game winning
streaks in January, a five-game winning streak February into March.
They played two and a half months at a 633 clip, 104 point pace.
I just went through it today.
This was last year.
And if you remember, you'd be like, oh, yeah, that team, if they're kind of in it for a bit,
but yeah, they were good enough.
They played at 104 pace for two and a half months.
Is that no wild?
No.
How would he figure that out?
I just literally did this.
I believe that you did it.
I'm not questioning.
I don't know where I'd start.
Did you do AI?
You take the number of games.
You can only get two points for game.
You know what?
You're smarter than I am, but not smarter than I am,
because I would have just AI'd that.
Didn't take me long.
Yeah.
Yeah. What's the point you're making, though?
This means nothing.
No, no.
I think if you ask people,
did the flames ever look this good last year?
A lot of people say, no, that's just wrong.
You know, they won five in a row against Winnipeg, Boston,
Emmetton, L.A. Pittsburgh.
Those are good teams.
I'm not saying you're saying that.
You're being very level-headed.
I'm wondering why you're referencing last year.
Because as much.
As much as people's expectations don't really matter.
They do in a sense, because if this team loses three in a row,
some people are going to think the sky's falling and it's not.
They're still the same team.
They're going to lose three in a row at some point this year.
The only thing that I referenced from last year is just that mood in the locker room
and the guys maybe didn't want to be here.
And so once the door, you saw that run.
And how that kind of seemed to once they were done,
everything started to elevate the mood everything they had two really ugly spells last year the first
month of the year and then the last post trade deadline which is about a month
the middle section was good it's odd yeah i don't know what to make of it gone had
and fun gone lindholm gone then have gone yeah and you're playing guys that shouldn't be playing
in a lot of spots and you know you shut down vlan dan vladar and not that he was great last year
but it's just, I think it's very exciting that the team is playing this well.
They did this a lot last year for, for, you know, multiple stretches.
So what is the point you're making?
I'll just ask again, it feels like you're really trying to take the piss out of what they're doing.
They did this a lot last year and yet they, I don't know.
I just see a lot of people talking about playoffs already.
It's like, it's so early here.
Yeah, you know what?
Let people talk to both the playoffs.
And it's great to play in this way.
It's not uncharted, but it's awesome.
All right.
I just, the mood, what is it, almost the end of October, no, mid-October.
Two months ago, the mood going into the season was, oh, right?
It's good that people are excited.
Like, they, it's, this is way more enjoyable than I would have ever predicted.
100%.
Yeah.
And look, like, I think all, we've all sort of thought, this group's going to work hard because
they did last year.
They didn't quit you on effort much.
And they're well coached.
That hasn't changed.
We'll get through a couple of the clips, maybe a little bit later on.
Huska also liked ball last night.
He likes what he's seeing between he and Anderson as a pairing.
And in a 2-1 game, having Matthew Coronado, among others, out there to protect that lead and then gets the empty net goal.
He's great, man.
I like a lot of his game.
And he loved that fourth line.
And how don't you love Lombard?
It's been great.
There's something to him, right?
Well, there's something.
Huska's smart enough to recognize.
went and where to spot guys too.
Right?
He was the Kirkland against McDavid for half the game.
Then it was wild.
Yeah.
Like he's,
obviously wasn't going in terms of McDavid,
but that fourth line's been great.
Klopka,
I think you've lost your spot for the time being to Coronado,
and that's fine.
You don't need waivers.
If he needs some ice time,
you can go down and play.
Oh,
he keeps getting close.
Oh, man.
Oh, that's as heavy a hit.
My kids,
throughout a, whoa!
That was as hard as you get hit
when you don't see it coming.
He was going into later.
Like you're blindsided.
Did you not see it coming?
Oh yeah, I was, two, three seconds.
I knew it was coming.
I was initiating.

TSN, Hockey Insider,
afternoon radio host,
a hockey color analyst,
and just water bottle extraordinaire.
Yeah, did we get on?
He didn't ask my address either.
I'm worried about that.
Jamie.
I don't even know where you live.
Like, it's parts unknown.
When we hung up last,
I was like, yeah, I'll send it to you.
Where do I send it to?
Buffalo? I just write Buffalo on it.
Like, where do you live?
You have an house in Calgary.
Like, I feel like you're one of these guys that just hails from parts unknown.
You're like a wrestler.
In this corner, Aaron Rogers look alike, hailing from parts unknown.
Parts unknown, weight unknown.
No, he looks thin and in shape.
He looks very good.
Thank you, Jamie.
I've been doing some carnivore and some cold plunging, and I'm pretty dialed in.
And you got to, what do you have got in the fridge behind you?
That is awesome.
You've not seen our beer.
That's our Barnburner blonde beer from origin brewing in Strathmore and in
Kelloggler.
You guys don't trust me with it.
That's the problem.
We don't trust me in having one.
When I'm in December, we're having a few of those.
Those are glorious.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Shout out surgeon.
Hey, this is not just some flunky thing you're dealing with here, Glennon.
Listen, I don't, I mean, mostly, but it is.
Listen, I'm the fourth flunky on the show.
That's what it is, you know.
That's why I, I,
fit.
One of us.
We're all alike.
That's really what it is.
What's going on with these Calgary flames?
I was just say, we're in a weird spot.
You want to be happy, but it's four games.
Ah, you think they're making the playoffs.
Don't be stupid.
So you can't be too overly happy or excited.
And if you're negative, you're just an a hole.
It's a lot.
We had Frank on yesterday.
He's like, the first week of the season is the hardest time to do these hits because everyone
wants to react.
And it's the tiniest of samples.
And if these were three or four games in the middle of January, we'd have
context.
but there is none. You had zero games before this week, right?
Yeah, but you only can win the games that are in front of you.
So I'll take that.
Like, you know, we could be talking about an 0 and 4 start and some guys not looking like
they're ready and, you know, geez, Wolf is look small in the net, you know,
like a couple weeks ago, I feel like I said that.
Like I, you know, he, he got exposed to in Winnipeg that night.
Now, Winnipeg had an NHL roster.
The Flames didn't send an NHL roster that exhibition game.
Wolf looks good.
Some of the kids look good.
They look like they're the one thing that I have noticed early on,
and you guys tell me if you've noticed it as well,
the teams that got some young players,
like they're full of piss and vinegar.
Like these guys want to show why they want to play in the league.
So they're treating every shift like it is a game seven,
like it is where, you know, up the road,
those guys are in summer mode.
You know, they're just still like,
the other night against Calgary, I thought the flames played very well.
And the Oilers didn't, you know, to in the immortal words of a chopper, Al McNeil,
those guys didn't piss a drop.
You know, they didn't in Edmonton.
They were very, very lethargic.
And to me, you know, the flames look, they look organized.
They look like they work hard to a man.
They got good goaltending.
Like they've got a little bit of everything.
So, you know, you're right.
you know, context is everything.
But, you know, after four games, I like what I see.
If it changes after the next four games, then you adjust.
But, you know, even watching that game last night, like they looked, you know,
they got jam.
And I like that.
Some push.
Yeah.
Yeah.
My fear was always that you start the season and they start slow.
And now some of those veteran guys that are pulling on the rope for them and
setting the tone, they're looking down the road at other teams going, I wonder if I could
finagle a deal and get out of here.
They check out.
They check out early, right?
Yeah, right.
Like, you're 0 and 4 right now.
Everything's different.
Yeah, I agree.
If you're 0 and 4 on a team that is expected to be 0.4, then you're already, you know,
we've got the U-Haul pact.
You're already looking at Expedia, like, what are we doing at, you know, April,
18th, like talking to the wife, like talking to the buddies.
You know, somebody's getting married on May 1st.
I'll be there.
Locked in, you know, like that type of stuff.
That's what guys do.
We have this onstanding joke, like it is a long running joke is, you know, the U-Hauls
are packed and Expedia.
If you check the cookies on the computer, like guys have already got their spots
picked.
But to me, you have a start like this.
And you can even see it in some of the veterans in the way that they're handling
themselves, you know, being interviewed as like.
like, hey, you know what, we might have something here.
Now, again, four games.
Guys are excited about it.
You know, and you're not getting, you know, you got Edmonton's not best.
You know, I think Chicago had, they had some good chances.
But to me, I thought Calgary was a better team.
But overall, I've liked their play.
And there's nothing wrong with liking their play early, you know, halfway through
October and going, I'm happy for them.
I think Huska's done a really good job.
The coaches really coached them up and held them to task.
and I think veteran leadership.
You know, we talked about it last week, Huberto, you know, like that, that's,
he looks more like Hubertel.
That's the guy that they traded for type of thing, a guy who's got a little jam,
gets a stick broken, gets to the bench.
And, you know, to me, this is a guy that he should be an 82 point guy in his sleep.
It be the old Huberto.
This guy looks a little bit more like the old Huberto, which is good.
I'm happy for him.
So, you know, again, it's four games, but it's a good storyline.
And again, is some of that because they got a guy like pospousal now, he's not a rookie per se,
but he's a young guy still, and he's a piss and vinegar guy.
And they've got enough of those guys on the team where it gets infectious for the older guys.
You know what?
I got to keep up with this kid.
I got to help him out.
This is fun.
I'll never forget playing with Dion.
Dion was 19 years old.
We were in exhibition.
We're winning 4-1 with 60 seconds.
left in the game. And, you know, the game's over. Everyone's just checked out. He knocks a guy
over the boards in the neutral zone. You're like, what the hell are you doing? Now there's a bit of a
line brawl. I remember Jerome going, what, like Jerome was pissed because I think there was a
fighter. Maybe Robin was pissed because Robin had to jump in or whatever. And you're going, what do you
do it? But these young guys are wired that way. It's like, hey, I'm playing for keeps regardless.
And, you know, what it does is it drags like older guys into it going, hey, this, this guy's
kind of in it, I better be involved here too.
Like to me, that's, that's what's infectious with young players playing with veteran guys,
especially early on.
Did you see Emmington last night? Because there's a tie in there.
I thought the tide turned with the two fights.
Stets your scraps a way bigger man and then Perry drops the mitts with, I believe,
Farabee. And then all of a sudden you saw pace and give a fuck out of your stars,
which is, I thought's been missing for the first whole week of the year.
Well, even preseason two, I'll say this.
You know, Knoblock isn't a very emotional guy.
He just kind of stands there behind the bench.
He's calculated.
You know, Drysettle misses two rotations of shifts right after his bad penalty.
That's a message, you know, like, hey, I didn't.
And you know what?
The media tried to make a big deal about it afterwards.
Rashog saying, you know, you ask Drysadle.
And Drysadle goes, you know, talk to him what the reasoning was.
Don't talk to me.
and instead of gnawblock throwing him under the bus or whatever he just said you know what we have to be more disciplined
because dry settle had taken a bad penalty they scored at the end of the five on three just right at the end to make it
and and to me i think dry saddle macdavid hyman bouchard at home skinner all r and h they all look bad right now
they all aren't at the top of their game now you saw glimpses to it last night after the fight
after a slight benching.
And to be fair,
they had some chances early on.
They hit three posts.
There was a couple,
I mean,
they had seven penalties called against them.
So it was undisciplined,
but also I thought the reps had a tough night on both sides,
because you could argue that McDavid had that penalty in overtime that sent him.
So that should have been a penalty or close to it.
And then they had another goal call,
which I this goaltender interference guys I don't know where you're at but it's it's I'm I'm
it's like pass interference I can't I can't get a read on it it's just flags and penalties and no
goals and all of that stuff because to be honest I get the letter of the law I had two of them in
Ottawa the other night that eight seven game I had two I had you know two calls there where you
could make a case for the goaltender all my whole argument is the goal he should be afforded to make a
save. That's it. It's his crease. And if there's contact, he has to be able to make a save.
But last night, Hyman comes through the screen. He touches the glove. But then his own defenseman
hits the blocker. And then it goes in and now they call it no goal. I would have challenged that.
To be honest, I was knoblocked. They didn't challenge because I think they're seeing the way the league is
going. But honestly, I can't tell. I don't know how you guys feel, but I can't tell.
It feels great. Like as great as it's ever been. It almost feels like 99 or 2000 or a whole
I feel like it's as great as it's ever been.
Or it feels like there has to have been some
mandate come out again from the league
quietly in the off season, right?
In the Calgary game, I thought the one that Perrigal call it on,
like, that's a goal.
Yeah.
And they haul it back.
The off sides, that's cut and drop.
Offside's black and white.
Like that's the end of color.
Yeah.
There's hardly any conduct at all.
Oh, but it's the crease.
It's like, well, hang on.
We haven't been calling it like that for a while.
That one I thought was, yeah.
I would have, you know,
personally and not being biased.
towards the flames, I would have, I would have called that a goal.
I just didn't think there was enough.
Like, and if you looked at it, Lidar kind of pushed into him, like, reached out with the gloves.
So, you know, he did reach out to push him and go, this is my space.
But that's the contact.
He initiated it.
And to me, even the league explanation is like the goalie has to be afforded the space to make
the save, which is fine.
But are we calling the crease now?
Like, are we actually calling the blue paint?
If you are, then that's a no-fly zone.
You tell the players, it's 1999 over again.
Easy.
Jamie.
I know.
I know.
I don't want that, but I'm saying that's, if it's going to go to the WIHF rules where it's like you're close to the crease, you don't call it, then at least there's some consistency with the players.
Just tell us what the rules are.
Exactly.
Just so people kind of understand, it was in 99.
they had the hard and fast.
If your skate is in the crease,
in the blue paint.
It's touching the line, I think it was.
No goal.
I was playing in Toronto one night for St. Louis.
And Wendell Clark scored two goals.
And both of them got called back because there was a guy on the back door with a skate lace.
Skate lace.
We ended up winning six four.
It might have been six five.
But I remember.
Six boys, eh?
Noodles? Just get me six.
Two called back.
And Mark Bergman said to me after, he goes, you did your best noodles, but we still won.
And I was like, oh, my God.
I was so bad that and I just couldn't get hit by it.
And that was a tough building, that old Maple Leaf Garden.
Oh, yeah.
And, you know, they were on top of you.
And Toronto was a team that shot the puck in that building a lot.
But I had two called back.
And they were ridiculous.
Like there was nobody near me, but there was a guy on the.
the back door with like a skate lace him.
They were like, no goal.
I'm like, oh my God, I'll take it.
I'll take it.
You know, so that's, that's ridiculous.
Where is Bergevin now?
L.A.
L.A. assistant.
Right. Yeah.
Yeah, he's assistant to the general manager or something like that.
He's got a good life out there.
I was going to say, surf every morning.
He's got a good life wherever he goes, doesn't he?
Oh, yeah.
Bersh, you know him.
Pretty, pretty happy guy.
There was a lot of stuff he had to deal with in Montreal there,
for a while. I would bet going to L.A. and be in a
more anonymous. Just step back
a little bit. Well, that was
nine years of, as you guys
know, that market, nine
years of under the microscope
everything you do in two languages.
So yeah, at that market
wears on, like anything, like any
Canadian market, it wears on people.
The ups
and downs and all of that type of stuff.
But, you know, they had their run
to the final, come up short, but
you know, I think in the end,
And he left him with some decent pieces.
So we'll see.
I mean, they've got some pieces now, man.
They're going to be good in the future.
Have you, what do you, Lane Hudson early returns?
Everyone's very excited about him and Habsland.
Watched him live.
Kind of has a Quinn Hughes type of vibe, like just really polished with the puck.
So here's the one thing.
Because there's all these memes on the internet right now.
you know how P.K. Suban used to do the quick feet and, you know, look busy.
Hey, I'm busy and this is what I'm going to do and all of that.
Hudson has a little bit of that.
So people are kind of drawing the parallel.
I would say the parallel for me is Quinn Hughes, the way he's smooth with the puck,
the way he's not shy to walk the line and uses his teammates.
The one thing I will say, you don't have to make a 10 at a 10 play every time.
He's going to learn that a six out of ten or a seven out of ten and get the puck to space.
With experience, he's going to learn that.
But right now it's flash and dash.
But he's going to, honestly, he's going to be a hell of a player.
He's really going to be a hell of a player.
That U.S. national team development program that's putting a lot of those types of players out there.
Like there's obviously has to be something in the way they're training or teaching those kids that's giving these kids that ability.
Well, they get the best of the best.
Yeah.
Like, you get, you know, Jake Sanderson's tech, I mean, he was born in Montana, but he's Canadian.
I mean, you know, I grew up with Jeff and Ellen, the parents, like in St. Albert, they, you know,
but he was born in Montana and he could have chosen either or, but he went to the U.S. program.
Like, that program brings, now, my understanding is if you're special in that program,
it's just, they'd prop you up to be the best of your, of your, of your, of, you.
your age group.
But if you're kind of on the second tier.
The second tier, you don't get as many chances.
Maybe you don't get maximized as much because you could go somewhere else and play
power play and get all kinds of minutes.
But I'll tell you what, that program as well, they don't give a shit about winning.
They're all about developing you and making you, they play in that USHL league and they
don't care if you win.
Exhibitions against college teams, whatever.
It doesn't matter.
Go to the roster.
Go play.
I think they do it right.
they put a bunch of money into it.
You don't hear much noise out of it either.
They, you know, I don't know if these guys are ultra-disciplined or if they have, you know,
issues and they just get swept under the carpet.
Like to me, you just hear about that program spitting out.
Now you look at every draft in the top 10.
It seems like there's five guys from that program.
You get more than the queue every year now.
It's wild.
Like the whole league.
And that's my fear here is that we've watered down our top developmental league so much.
You've got 60 teams theoretically in the CHL.
120 goalies.
And in the U.S., they've got an incubator with their 24 best guys pushing each other every day.
That's closed the gap in my mind.
I don't disagree with you, but there's the other side of that coin.
We're talking about stuff that I never thought we'd talk about today.
The other side of that coin is that by having that many, you're allowing that many more kids to develop.
There are kids in the States that don't make that program and think they've failed and they feel like it's ending for them, right?
Like the so having more opportunity for more kids to continue to play at a higher level.
I know it's watered down and it's a different model, but it does allow more kids to stay in it.
I understand what you're saying.
It's a very small top tier.
It's not a let's take the rest of.
Here's the other thing too.
I don't know how you feel, you guys feel, but this rule of where a kid now can play college and go to junior or whatever, that that, like that's, I think that might be a game.
game changer, correct?
So there's so many unknowns here because let's say I sign a CHL contract and I do want to play
college.
Wouldn't if I'm smart and I'm the WHL or pick a team anywhere in the CHL, wouldn't I say commit
for two, three years here?
Like we're still figuring this out.
It's going to happen.
But what it looks like and what sort of leverage the CHL has to keep its best players will
be interesting.
The stupidest rule in hockey is that at 19, you can't leave the CHL to go play in
the A.
They're now suddenly going to let 17 and 18 year olds go to college.
I think this isn't quite as cut and dried as people think it is yet.
It's a good point because I think there are guys that are tweener players
that are, have reached their peak or reach the top level in the junior league,
CHL, but they're not ready to play in the NHL.
So it's almost like where can they go?
Where can you place these guys?
I feel like there should be something written in that you could almost grandfather like
one exception or one exemption for a.
player that you have in your system that happens to be 19, but I know that jams up your
CHL team.
You know, I know that the Leafs would have probably liked to put this Easton Cowan kid
in with the Marley's at the AHL level, kid had to go back to junior.
You know, I think he had 90 points in 58 games last year and seemed to have kind of won
everything and done everything.
But he's going to go back and learn how to be a leader and learn out.
He needs to be a pro away from the puck still and watching him.
And I think a lot of these guys, like, I still believe juniors are very, very good developmental league.
And I went through the process, you know, retro you did.
Like to me, it, you know, it was a different time, but I still believe it's a great league.
But it doesn't mean I don't believe in osmosis and changing stuff and allowing gifted players more opportunity to grow themselves personally.
It feels like they're having conversations.
And we can move on.
I do think it's probably a little.
But the conversations that are being had had right now,
would have been, we don't, that's never going to happen.
That's ludicrous.
This is the way it is.
It was very kind of old school.
Like that 19 year old thing,
I feel like that's got to be in the offing at some point soon.
I would think so.
My understanding is it's to protect the,
the CHL or the Western League so that you keep the kids.
Keep your stars longer.
But this whole NCAA thing short circuits out.
That's weird, right?
Yeah, I know.
We'll move on.
Now, we had a goalie goal last night.
How close were you ever to scoring while you were in net?
Um, if you, you guys know the color guy for the St. Louis blues is Jamie Rivers, correct now?
Darren, he took over for Darren Bank, Pang. I didn't know if you guys knew that or not.
Pang, Pang's in Chicago now because it's on there last night.
If you look closely at Jamie Rivers' face, he's got a scar on his forehead.
And I did that to him. He was my defenseman.
So this play, you know who, who cost the St. Louis.
blues this goal against.
Bunchnevich, what the hell are you doing?
Handing it to him.
Shot it right at him.
He's a slap shot and plays catch with him.
Here is it.
So he catches it, puts it down and goes, yeah, I'll fire it in the net.
At least mine.
Now, I was playing in the miners for the Worcester Ice Cats.
And that was St. Louis's farm team.
I was coming back from meningitis and, you know, working my body back.
And I, we're up by a goal.
And it's a cross-corner dump.
and the puck comes right to the slot.
And I said, okay, I'm going to grab this and I'm going to shoot it down the middle of the ice.
And I get all of it and I get some elevation on it.
Now, Jamie Rivers is back, you know, skating backwards and he turns right into the trajectory.
And I hit him right between the eyes and knock his helmet off.
There's blood.
And here's how tough Jamie Rivers is.
He stays out because now we're defending and we're trying to defend the lead.
and he's bleeding everywhere
and he's hacking and whacking and whacking
trying to block shots
and I'm almost crying in the net going
I almost killed my teammate here
so you know
the silver lining out of this
is after the game
he got called up
like it just was a coincidence
that he got called up to the big team
but he got like I think six stitches
in his forehead and I it was the most
like I would have scored there
but I fired it
and it was
better than you've scored
He couldn't have skated into it more perfect.
He was backwards and then pivoted right into it.
And it went right like on his forehead.
I was so sad because, you know, he was a buddy of mine still is to this day.
But like I buried that.
So I never tried.
And I was, I didn't handle the puck very well.
But I never tried to shoot the puck down the ice like that ever again.
I was so horrified.
It scarred me.
You guys can tell.
I'm still talking about it.
I'm emotional.
Do you think about in his mind, the last thing he's expecting is that puck coming back at him,
eyeball high.
Yeah, it's not Broderback there.
It was the dumb, like, I don't know.
It was bad luck, but it was a dumb thing.
And especially knowing me, he would have been like, there's no chance noodles is going to shoot that puck
because I don't handle the puck very well.
Where is he setting this up?
That was it.
Yeah. Imagine his processor.
Yeah, how much time left in the clock?
They got the empty net.
Okay, where is it?
Do I need to change.
Four checkers.
He's going to set it up.
Wham.
Right out here.
We got this thing.
Thanks, James.
Damn it.
And then like I say, then it's in their zone.
His right.
He's bleeding all.
Like, if I was him, I would have skated right off.
But he didn't.
He stuck it out and was like boxing guys out in the front.
And I just was horrified.
I've done that a few times to people.
I think I've told you the story of Kevin Shevoldeoff.
Did I tell you that one?
Oh, my God.
This one's bad, too.
We're playing in Adirondack, and the puck comes around.
Now, Kevin Shevoldeoff was my defenseman, the capital district islander.
So it was like my first year pro.
The puck comes around the net, and we're in Adirondack.
And Adirondack is a tiny building, and I go to stop the puck behind the net.
And usually as a goalie, you stop it, you pull it off the boards, and you allow your defensemen to skate through.
while the puck got caught on the boards.
It flipped up and got caught on the boards.
And I was trying to pull it off.
And I could hear Chevy going, leave it, leave it, get out of the way.
So I get out of the way.
And this guy named Max Mittendorf comes and buries Shep,
because Chevy had to stop and try and dig it off the boards,
buries him head first into the boards off the dasher.
So now his helmet goes flying.
He's skating around.
I can see like a huge cut on his foot.
forehead, like a big cut. And it kind of like had flapped open. And he's skating around. The whistle
goes, I go to the bench. And he's sitting there and he goes, am I cut? And I can see his skull.
I can see his skull. His skin had flapped open. And I'm like, ah, you might need one or two Chevy.
Sorry about that. And I think nowadays, if you see him being interviewed, like he's got a big
scar on his forehead, that's my puck handling ability. That's what it is.
It's horrifying.
It's a gift. It's not a gift. It's a curse. It's a curse what I did to some of my D-Men.
Terrible. Terrible.
So when did you finally decide to stop playing the puck? Which one of these horrendous injuries?
Honestly, I've told two stories. There's lots where I was actually pretty good at getting out in stopping it and just leaving it. I never did much with it. But outside of that, I didn't try to, you know, make. We had.
one play in Calgary. Dave Marku, our goalie coach, it was just either reverse, forward,
or leave it. And the D came out and they fanned out. That was it. But it was cut and dry.
You knew exactly what you're going to do when you're on your way out and you made the call.
But outside of that, I didn't mess around with the puck. I was no good.
Less is more. We have had some guys here that we were trying to convince of that.
It was on deaf years.
Terrible. Terrible. Very upsetting.
Oh, yeah. I didn't know what was going to go that way. I was kind of found.
found money. That was what, the 20 in the ski jacket. Thanks for that. Thanks for that.
Awesome. Awesome. We know you got a hard out. We'll let you get out of here. What's up for the next week or so?
I'm in Ottawa tomorrow. So Ottawa, Jersey, Jersey looks like, you know, we'll see Markstrom, you know.
Mark Kurt. What's going on there? Didn't skate today. Or two days ago. Or two days ago.
concerning because they gave up, you know, seven.
They gave up a touchdown without him.
Now, I didn't like Foresburg game.
You know those afternoon games, kind of guys are sleepy.
That game was crazy, though.
That was bananas.
Like, had L.A. kind of knuckled down, that was a 6-2 win for L.A.
But I will say this, like Ottawa got going.
Their penalty kill was no good.
They gave out three power play goals against, which, you know, that'll kill anybody.
then their power play got going and then they scored a bunch of power play goals and
Darcy Kemper now is not starting in Toronto tonight. He's day to day with something and I'm like
he's day to day with hurt feelings man like that's he gave up an eight spot.
You can pull him. You've got to pull him. You're right. And you know what? It doesn't matter where
you are in the score and that if you give up six. I had a rule as a goal league coach. The minute you
hit six, you're out. Because seven is a converted touchdown. That's hard mentally on anybody.
Six you can live with. Hey, we lost six three. We lost six four. Couple field goals. Yeah.
Seven is a bad number. Eight is even worse. Like eight is, eight's like I'm not happy and I'm not
playing at next game. And that's what Darcy Camper. I hope he's all right. I'm making light of it.
but, you know,
they left him in there for an eight spot,
which hurt me.
What was Patrick Waugh,
eight or nine,
and that was the end of Montreal.
Well,
Patrick Waugh,
yeah,
he went to the owner and said,
I'm out.
That's enough of that.
Yeah,
I do remember,
you guys can probably speak this.
Didn't Daryl leave Brian Boucher in for nine
with the flames?
Because he wasn't going to put Kipper in.
I think it was Daryl or Jimmy.
Somebody did.
But I remember,
after I left Brian Boucher was there,
and I swear they left Bush in for like nine in Nashville one night.
And that, as a backup, you've got to eat that.
You've got to chew on that, which is, that's your job.
But a nine spot is ugly.
I must have been hurt.
Well, I was going to say, you've had nine in Nashville, just not in net.
Nine buckets of beer.
I'd like them.
I'm 11 a.m. till 3 a.m.
But that's a different story.
That's right.
Well, let you get out of here, buddy.
Good to see you.
Have a good week.
Guys, have a good one.
We'll chat later.

I like that philosophy.
You can go to six.
Yeah.
But seven, as he said, is a converted touchdown.
And eight is even worse.
Who knew?
He went for two.
Eight is worse than seven.
So Darcy Camber is out with a suntan from the goal light on his neck.
He can't play against the Leafs tonight.
Volley injuries.
All right's interesting because they pulled a guy up, sent him down.
They pulled a different guy up today.
Yeah.
Have you setbacks here?
What do we do?
He just got paid, right?
Paid in a court.
Maybe sitting on that fat wallet.
You know,
you'll throw your back out.
Throw the hips.
I'm sure you had a nice,
healthy bonus or some steak dinners to celebrate.
Yeah.
Maybe something like that.
Steak.
We'll just go back to the flames for a moment.
And you brought it up.
Long-time listeners and viewers will know where you were going.
But we'll get to it in a moment.
Just more on last night's game.
We talked about Coronado,
being out one goal.
game on the fourth line. We've had the discussion. Do you keep a guy like Coronado on the
fourth line? Do you send him to the Wranglers? Let him play 20 minutes first. The power played,
all that sort of thing. Huska was asked a little bit about that last night. Obviously, he gets the
goal then gets an empty netter. So nice in terms of points for him. But he was part of that fourth line.
And Huska felt like that fourth line was their best line last night. He has a night like tonight where
he works the way he did and his feet are moving and he play with a lot of energy. You know, he's easy to bump up.
later in the game because he played well he played more so I don't know he he's a guy that
is committed to doing things the right way and on that line like we mentioned it this morning
Ryan Lomberg doesn't leave them a choice that's how they play and like I said they were
they were our best players tonight along with Dustin being wolf the goalie Dustin
old dusty so we don't need to get too deep into it not to say but we've had that
conversation what do you do with the guy you don't want Coronado playing on your
fourth line well what
if it's well you just told me all the minutes are being spread out even more evenly and i think that's
yeah no forward over 20 and coronado's not like this soft skill guy that just well geez if we don't load
him in all these offensive positions with great pastors you can't do it like he's a great four checker
you saw it last night's tenacious sunbucks he's not big but there's some fighting them yeah i i think
he could center that line if if kirklin was struggling um he's played a little bit of center in college
and he's fine.
I think he's better than Klappka.
I think there was a fear that they might have to send him down
because he didn't need waivers and other guys did,
but he belongs here.
And, you know, they're probably going to move a pair of wangers this year
of the deadline.
There's going to be all kinds of opportunities at top nine.
And to be fair, you can almost build a fourth line
that has a little more offense.
I'm not sure Hansik stays forever up top.
You see flashes of it.
You also see some mistakes.
They're going to get Sharon Govich back.
Like, there's still some pieces that are going to move around.
here.
Hunzick did get clobbered.
Do we have that?
It's such a hard hit.
It's a Connor Murphy.
He's coming in.
That's good.
That's Gord's boy.
Is it?
Yep.
Formerly of the Florida Panthers?
Yes, indeed.
Wow, that's amazing.
And Atlanta.
I'm not Larry, because Larry they thought was dead in Toronto and then he went
on to have like another decade in Detroit.
We should do that when there's some quiet time, some old names.
Larry Murphy's one of those guys.
So is he in the Hall of Fame?
Oh, yeah, he is.
And then you look at his, no kidding, he's in the Hall of Fame.
Jesus.
Some team quit on him with eight years left him?
Yes.
I think he's probably done.
One last one, Kevin Ball.
I don't know if he's going to the Hall of Fame.
Ball to the Hall?
He's very, hey, that's, get it going.
Yeah, ball to the hall.
Go on.
His name was brought up in post game and Huska was quick to throw him into that group of
players who he thought were among the best last night.
I probably should have put him in the best.
category too because he was our best defenseman tonight in my opinion. You know, his reach is
really good and he's able to close quick on people and when he's strong on pucks, he's a difficult
guy to play against. So for a guy that missed most of camp, I think he's done a really good job early
in the air and they seem to Raz and him are starting to find a little bit of chemistry, which was
our hope when the season started. So hopefully they can continue to do that. And nearly scored,
kind of on that. Did have a chance. In tight back door kind of.
kind of play there it's not really as far as he had a shot on that not sure why he was down there
necessarily but you know what it is they're playing those new boards hey it's the hometown
bounce they know the boards are so they're they're playing the carum
remember the trade right like you move marksstrom and you're like that's a first in another
year all guy i remembered him being involved in the taylor hall deal because he was a monster
and they wanted a bunch of pieces but you're like okay so what do they see in this guy because
because Conroy, I think, has done well with his pro scouting more than when you first see
the package, you're blown away. Like, Mir Manov's NHL defenseman. No one knew that at the time
of the trade, right? Like, he's playing 20 minutes a night for three, four months now.
I don't think people had heard Hunter Prostevich's name. And a year later, he's one of the top
prospects in the organization. Kuzmenko, Vancouver, it wasn't a fit. Connie's like, no, no,
know, we can make this work. He's right.
Like, I think a lot of these deals, he's gotten players back, Sharon Govich especially.
Ball is exactly what you hope he would be.
He's huge and he's a great defensive defenseman.
And I think we just talked about him yesterday.
A guy that big, when you don't fight, well, that's a knock.
Well, not in the league anymore.
No one fights anymore.
When you're not overly physical, when you're not punishing guys like Scott Stevens,
well, there's not a ton of heavy, heavy hits anymore, even though we just brought
one up.
But I feel like he is.
he's physical enough, he's strong.
He takes 13 minutes.
Yeah.
If he had to, he'd fight.
It's just, that's not what's in the league.
Nobody's fighting.
That's not even,
it's not even a conversation, but.
Yeah, like last night, we saw guys fighting that you'd never think would fight.
It was like old man, Corey Perry, Farabee,
uh,
and I just kind of, like, it's just, it's, it's, to your point, it's hard to
look for an identity from a big guy and a big defense.
And you used to hang your hat on, okay, well, if he's big,
he must be physical and scrap.
Right.
Not part of the game plan anymore.
You just play hard and strong deep.
He's been really good.
And Rasmus needs that.
He and Oliver Shillington,
there was no one taking care of the fort.
And Rasmus can,
but I think a really defensive-minded partner
has been a great fit for him.
What happens?
What's happening with the third pair?
We like Pahal.
Pahal's the best of the bunch.
That's why they won't take him out.
And you're even seeing them play Barry on his offside,
which he's almost never done in his career.
because they won't take Pahal out.
Pahal's another fine.
That's another Connie Pro Scouting win.
There's a guy on waivers that looks like a very solid six.
He's Calgary's five right now.
They'll alternate guys before him.
And he's like a young red.
That's right.
I've heard that anyway.
Some of the experts.
Not very good at anything.
Some of the experts brought it up the other night.
Hard working.
Good looking, I think.
So here's the.
Oh,
oh, yeah.
That head really snaps back.
So this is Samuel Hanson.
coming in to hit my goodness maybe i'll just finish this chat and bang you ever get one of those
buddy you're coming in to really lower the boom and somebody's like uh how about one of these
it's no fun i can tell you that that one's about as bad as you can see i've seen though
look at his head snap oh yeah jeez you keep him there you move him around what are you seeing from hansick
like i'm i'm i'm just anticipating a month in it's going to be like yep he needs to go down to the a
because it's,
but we're not quite there yet.
It's five games coming up.
They've been winning.
You got nine before you burn year one,
not that that's a huge deal.
The guys are getting paid an entry level now anyway
to burn a year sometimes is a good thing.
Yeah.
I think he did,
obviously with that preseason,
did a lot for himself.
You're in the job, yeah.
That now you can struggle now
in the national hockey league at your age,
and that's okay,
but you've redeemed yourself
to a certain extent.
I don't want to discredit.
what they've done because they're four for four it's a great start they're playing with the
commitment that a lot of teams aren't ready to do yet they start to see in the new year it's like okay
now i'm going to justin kirkland block shots in the last 15 seconds i don't need to do that in
october and i think a lot of it is because the young guys that are on this roster and the new guys
that are trying to prove they belong um and so the league gets harder for a rookie because just being
excited well that's kind of worn off once it's january we saw it in monahan's rookie year like i think
get a foot fracture, but you also just kind of hit a wall.
It's a really, really, really hard league to get up for for 82.
Your first five, bet you're jacked.
It looked like Hansick hit a wall last night.
He did actually.
That's great.
So yeah, I was thinking of, excuse me, I was thinking about it last night because he's
getting some power play time and there were a couple plays that didn't quite work for
him.
You wonder what the, they will have a plan.
I think I had Kent Wilson on with me last night, do it afterburn.
And the one thing he said a couple of times at least.
was these coaches have done a heck of a good job here.
They've got the guys as much as you can by four games.
They're bought in.
They know their roles.
They're happy to play it.
Everyone's getting ice time.
And Huska talked about it there.
Everyone by now would feel like they're part of big time.
What's going on.
Everyone's played.
Regardless of points or goals.
Barry's been in.
Klopka and the Coronado rolled through.
Everyone's played.
And our, our buddy, Connor Zeri.
last night.
I don't know what we're watching,
but he's a special player.
There's the ability, and then there's the confidence to make plays
that you don't often see in young guys.
Maybe you do, I don't know.
I think you have the confidence.
But here it is, I'm just going to try this,
and then I'm going to pull it again,
and it hit the defenseman.
He had the goalie beat there.
Well, and right before the Kuzmenko goal,
which swings the game.
he's on the left wall, the power play,
and everything's running through Zeri.
And he's Kuzmenko are playing catch,
high and low, high and low, back and forth.
This guy can't leave PowerPlay 1.
You know, it's exactly what Lindholm wasn't last year.
Lindholm can do a lot of things,
but he didn't have that confidence and vision to create stuff.
Those two are just zipping it around, make a place.
Like, he can't leave Power Play 1.
He's now one of their most creative players.
I was thinking of the same because it was those,
the quick one touch passes to the middle.
No, it's not there back to him, to the point.
Yeah.
it has to run through him and Kuzmenko.
That's your power play.
Everyone else you can move around.
It's been a good year for,
for Connor's area.
It was about a month,
not even a year ago,
he got called up.
Yeah,
while he's looking last,
I think it's 66 games now that he's got under his belt.
And the first month,
you're like,
oh my God,
like,
this is a hot start?
And then you're like,
is this a star?
And then he kind of cools off
as the whole team does
in the last month or so.
And you know,
like what is the expectation?
Is a 50 point season good?
Is it a 70?
Like, how high is the ceiling here?
I'm not ready to put a cap on this kid.
What were the injuries?
This is putting you on the spot.
I think it was an ankle issue.
But what was it that brought him and posthal in?
I think it was the bad start and there would have been someone hurt.
I don't know.
Because you saw how quickly he took off.
He had a great camp.
Yeah.
How didn't you make the team?
Yeah.
Kind of a thing.
Trying to remember who referenced it.
It might have been a husker or someone.
Yeah.
Not unlike the Hansik decision.
He had a great camp, but he was just go down and play.
Once he got over.
Wow.
they had to move those bodies too there were more bodies around yeah but they didn't move
before between then and him coming up i wonder who was nicked up yeah or it was just it's so bad like
we'll rotate uh i'm just trying to think of like a dried and hunt down or somebody but i don't think
he was up like it he came in and it was immediately like oh this is different and then pospacil
a game later and that line with cadre really that's when they started to look like an
nchl club not just like we don't want to be here yeah 66 games
games over two seasons and it's gone from, uh, you look, hey, nice start, big goal in his first game or
whatever it was. I think there's something there. He may go back down, but there's a, I think he could
say, you're an NHLer to, you're a key part of what's going on. Focal point.
Yeah. You're a big part of what is and is going to be. He gets a contract this summer.
It's, you, you'll have the opportunity if you believe in the player to get them locked in long at a
lower number.
Not to suggest that.
Around the table.
What's lower?
Well, I mean, I don't know what the point total is, but if he got 65, 70 points,
would that be realistic?
I think it's 38 and 66 just going off the top of my head.
That number is going, I mean, 30, yeah, like if he's a 60 point player, is that 5, 6 a year,
lock him in for eight years, hope he keeps getting better.
Around the table.
Who has fears of locking him in?
No, I don't have any concerns with zero.
Not zero.
He's only going to, to your point, he hasn't played 70 games yet.
What are we talking about?
It's what he's going to say.
These guys are confident themselves,
and their agents are watching going,
well, we don't know.
But you're right,
because you'll have the leverage to be like,
we'll come back on a bridge at three.
But what you're not doing,
if you get the deal for those two years,
is you're not locking them in for eight, right?
And that'll be a new one for Conroy, right?
He's done some five years,
the Sharon Govich thing.
It's a player coming at entry level.
Here you got, what's your vibe?
What's your gut?
And he's got other guys around.
them obviously that we'll have influence, but for sure, I would think.
You could trade him for great.
Oh, okay.
You know who it is that they did it with is Rasmus Anderson?
They locked him in long term and look at how much he's worth.
Like, I think he's an $8, $9 million defenseman on the market.
Yeah, so it's 67 now, right?
39 points in 67 games.
Yeah, and, you know, looks consistently stronger and better than that.
Saskatchewan.
Another Sascair from.
Saskatchewan.
We're born in Saskatoon.
How old is Camloops, I think, when he was drafted,
the family was in B.C.
23.
Lock up his entire prime.
Think about an eight-year deal.
You're getting the best years of Conner's there.
You're not getting them for five or six.
Do we have a, tell me that.
A lock?
No, I don't think so.
Pay that man his money.
It's going to be seven and a half.
Well, and Dylan Gunther's another guy.
I think they just locked him if I'm correct in Utah.
Get these guys locked in.
The cap's going to keep going up, and they're going to be deals.
surely to fuck we can deal with this
no no no
my head blew off daddy
I hope that goddamn head was in it
I don't want that
that's something
who's a kid I like him
he's a heart and solar
but he couldn't score more than
25 or 30 goals in his
lifetime
I'll look for that's not
I'll look for it later he's gonna get 25 this maybe this year
I was just gonna say
I suppose little
maybe biased he's hot there

How long has this been in here?
It's about empowering everyone to be socially active,
more connected with loved ones,
confident in every aspect of their life.
People of all ages can suffer from hearing loss.
It can be especially challenging for kids.
Sometimes while the kids are struggling in school,
while the marks aren't great, well, what is it?
Maybe there's some hearing issues there.
Additional services include custom ear protection.
for the workplace.
Musician molds.
Are you a big rock and roll star?
I'm a big guitarist.
Yeah, yeah.
Custom in-ear stage monitors.
I think we're going to get some of those.
We'll talk to Rosie.
We're going to talk to Rosie about that.

Uh,

Oh,

No,
you don't get,
no,
no, no,
no, no.
I have a top five too.
Remember when this started?
The disdain that was,
I said,
you guys go with it.
We were on totally on board.
I said,
yes, you were.
You were S talking it from the start.
I said it could be a top five
segment.
Jack,
was I S talking it?
I feel like I was in total talking you kind of asked talked to oh jack I think we got it on record
well I was supportive right thank you somebody's got to believe yeah so I can't do it to
you do it every one well you know what let's do it this way it's not top five five six
it's my fab five no the we should we showed you the goalie goal and you'll
We'll have it in the Pinder report.
Yes, yeah, great.
I mean, we saw it when noodles was talking about.
We'll get a better look at it.
But I was reading, it's the third straight year that there's been a goalie goal set.
Has this become commonplace?
Last year, Tristan Jari scored one.
The year prior, Linus Allmark.
And then it was a bit of a stretch going back until Pecorinae, a number.
I think it was five or six years.
I kind of recall there being like one a year, but it's usually like one's in the Southern Pro League and the others in junior.
And this one's in the coast.
That will happen in Europe.
And this one's in the A.
Now, maybe it's a little, a little trivia for you.
What flame goaltender or former flame goaltender has scored a goal in the national hockey league?
Brian Boucher.
I think he has, actually.
Yeah.
Is it my boy?
But here's the hook.
He has scored a goal, but didn't get credit for it.
It is your boy.
This is going to touch a lot of bases.
We go to Buffalo.
Rob Ray and Rick Jinnaret and your boy and Mike Smith in overtime right before Christmas in 2013.
Pezick gaining the line. He takes a shot. Rebound.
The receivers. Mike Smith is cheating like crazy. He's trying to. Watch this. Watch this.
The puck's going to drop right here. Hanzel tries for it. It falls right in the back of his pants.
And watch this. It's laying in his pants and he's going to take it.
Right there, right into the net.
You can see the puck laying on the top of his pants on his jersey in the net.
This is going to be a good goal.
You see it right there.
You can see the puck right there.
See it?
Yeah, I see it, but I've never seen anything like this before.
It's Christmas.
It's Christmas.
Well, it's Christmas for one team.
It's Bah Humbug for the other one.
The play is under review.
Yeah, I'll bet it's under review.
If you have the play of the puck get crossed the line, we have a good goal.
There's too much there for me not to bring it to the table.
It's not a goalie goal per se, but it's Mike Smith and some R.J.
and an overtime.
A little Rob Ray in there as well.
Yeah.
Unreal.
I think he got lots of credit listening to the broadcast.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Oh, I don't know.
Yeah.
He did get a lot of credit.
Mark Pessick, I believe, got credit for that one, the overtime.
Really?
December 23rd.
2013 what a night
what a party right to Chippewa
you think let's go December 23
oh baby
Rob's got his toy drive the next day though
that's an early morning to get turned from the sundown
to the toy drive
here's some toys for you
I got it in that bill
thanks thank you sir

Little twist, little, you know, refining.
Take a little off here, a little polish here.
Brand new for 25.
Check out the Accord.
Check out the Civic, the CRV, the passport, the pilot, and more.
Maybe you need the Odyssey.
Maybe your family, you've got a growing family.
You need to need yourself a minivan.
I don't think we want to drive minivan.
Drive an Odyssey.
Give that a go.
Check it out online at Village Haunties.

Autumn all there, your dealership for life.
Ryan Pinda, Ryan Pinda.
And bring you the Pinder report.
For no start, fellas. Let's head back to the dome last night
for the second Dustin Wolf appearance
and the second Dustin Wolf victory.
Most game, noted that Dino, Brian Huska,
singling out the goaltender himself,
the fourth line, Lombard, Coronado, and Kirkland,
and then later adding Kevin Ball to that list.
If you were to read this tweet in August,
I've got a little tiny window into the future.
That's a great sign.
Fourth line, new defenseman, goalie,
everyone's been hanging in hopes on for five years.
I was going to say, I'd say the opposite.
I would say if Lomburg, Coronado, Kirkland,
and Ball are your best players.
I'd be like, what the fuck are we watch?
The tweet didn't say win.
You would have thought they're, yeah.
So we left, we left Dustin out to dry, 40 shots.
Oh my God.
Top guys with dog shirts.
Can I take that back?
Yeah, you can take that.
take it back.
I did take a look at the standings again.
It's top of the table.
Top of the table.
Tuska and some of the tea here.
Tuscany.
To Foley.
Tino, San Jose.
Triptofan.
Probably just have to keep moving here.
There it is.
Good start.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Oilers get on the board with their first win last night, rallying from two down in
overtime. They were
moaning about the officials for about a week, but not in
overtime when they missed a call on a breakaway for the
flyers that led to the game winning goal.
And they're the Canucks without a
win, fellas.
I hate to say it. She loves
has not been great.
What? Yeah.
When's all Demco coming back?
They just haven't been the same since
that's ARI goal.
He's broken up. Put them into a tailspin.
A hundred percent. To be fair, they haven't been
the same since that 4-1 goal because they
kicked that thing in a neutral pretty early against the Flames.
I won a schedule for the home team while they're heading on the road,
but lots of games at the dome in the next couple weeks.
They will start in Seattle.
Let's have a look.
Love this graphic.
There it is.
On the weekend, decent start for the Cracken.
All right.
Three game homestand,
penguins, hurricanes, jets.
Those are three pretty good teams.
Penguins have been pretty decent out of the game.
Malkin looks good.
then a road trip that'll send them through Vegas and Utah that gets you
home for New Jersey, Edmonton, and then you're to November.
So there you go.
You going to Utah?
I have not yet.
I've driven through once.
It was.
Should we go?
Exilarating.
Check out the inaugural flame.
They had a PGA tournament.
Did you see anything anything on the weekend?
You ever try to fall asleep to golf?
Amazing.
Can you fly direct to?
Salt Lake?
Oh, yeah.
That's the Delta hub.
Is that right?
That's where everything's Delta there.
I got a credit with Delta.
do you really i didn't even know they sold beer at the rank they said new record in that home
opener he did only welcome to the nitchel doing a bit of boson are you i don't have
are you drunk right now uh we have any alcoholics uh i'm drunk right now yeah sure thank you
uh oh a sad one last night fellas is uh we've spent a lot of the last few months morning
passing of the godreau brothers but it was the home opener for the columbus blue jackets
and so all eyes on the hockey world turned to Ohio
where they paid their respects for the first home game
without Johnny Goddrow.
The bench is standing here and we're going to have a moment.
There's no left winger.
We'll drop the puck 13 seconds.
What a moment.
Off the clock.
Johnny Goddrow.
Monaghanon.
And fraud, stop the second try to score.
He wouldn't be denied.
Sean Monahan and the jackets get it back.
It's 2-1.
What a moment here for Sean Monaghan.
There's the family and friend of Johnny Goddrow and Matthew Goddrow.
But Sean Monaghan pointed to that banner after that puck went to net.
The banner was raised here tonight.
Number 13, Johnny Gooddrow.
It's hard to be honest.
Yeah, it was a special, special moment that I'll remember forever.
Who, powerful stuff.
Good to see Monty score.
And if you didn't see the message from Johnny's wife,
incredibly positive and forward-looking
and incredibly strong human.
I hope you're ending with that.
That's it.
You can't do snakes and stuff after this.
It's probably true.
I was going to say,
I thought we were ending the show with that today.
Would have probably.
Probably that again at the end of the show
if you'd like.
That was surprised.
Yeah, that's bad on me.
I apologize.
Do you have a shovel for me?
I'll blighten the mood.
Oh my God.
We on the other side of things from sad and heart wrenching,
there's nothing more euphoric than when the goalie somehow scores on the other
team's net, you know, and that is what we saw in St. Louis.
Mutchnavich fires in, looking for a goal.
Gustafson.
Billop Gustafsson.
I come to the bench here on the on the timeout the flirt's like hey you're gonna
you're gonna try and shoot it if you get it now when we're up to goals I was like yeah
actually I should shoot it and then it's a it's a perfect dump there to the goal and I
just catch it just try and put it down and quick as possible and I didn't know I
could shoot that far in there so it's great you got in there that's good stuff
yeah and as noodles it said which devish gave it
to him right on. Oh, yeah. He's like a ladder.
He couldn't ask for platter.
Thanks. I'm going to fire this
the length of the ice. Oh, good for him.
Ovechkin, a couple
helpers last night. Still is not scored,
but he did reach an impressive
milestone. Look at the company he's got here.
The 700 700 Club.
Gretzky, Yager,
how, Dion Esposito,
and now Alex Ovechkin.
It's good company.
If you're thoughts on that,
Red.
that the assists
because with the goals
all those goals make you selfish
but then if you got a bunch of assists
as well
he's a hell of the player
used to be one of my favorites to watch
used to what happened
well he's old and chubby
slowly now
are you an ageist
oh must be an agist
you're your fat shaming
and you're agest
is that why you don't like ovi
old and chubby
how do I not have a fat drop
you'd have a bunch
Jesus.
Yeah, what's wrong?
I don't know.
I'll work on it.
Games tonight.
Let's take a peek at the slate.
What do we got?
Sabres, penguinos.
Kings and Leafs with
who knows what goalies.
I don't know the goaltenders.
Skating, but has been hurt.
Kemper, he's got that goal like Suntan.
He can't play.
And then two teams, I think we would have thought
a better start.
It's Boston, Colorado will score off in Denver,
followed by Utah in
Let's go Uts or whatever we call them.
Yeah.
Go hockey club.
I do like that duck's coloring though.
Do you really?
Oh, it's it's sharp.
Man, God, I'm not sure.
What, you're like teal and purple better?
No, it's, it's just, it's so much is all.
It's strong, yeah.
It's orange helmets.
It sort of feels like Tennessee volunteers, doesn't it?
It's a lot of orange.
But that Tennessee, it's less, that's more of a lighter kind of a Tennessee volunteer.
This is a hard, hard orange.
It's duck orange.
It's duck bill orange, baby.
Yeah.
But we see it in person.
Okay.
Pass judgment too soon.
Wranglers in action tonight.
What have they been doing while they start with two at home?
There it is.
They're at CV, which of course stands for Coachella Valley.
Look at this.
Unreal in the desert.
The UG was this there.
Said it's a great atmosphere.
It's a great.
I've seen a couple there.
I was going to go with clavicle.
Clavicle C C.
A sprang in a CB.
A broken clavicle.
It's a CV.
It's like a resume.
Ouch.
Yeah.
That.
Actually, speak.
Go ahead.
Off to Henderson afterwards.
So they're on the road for four in a row here and then back for Colorado.
Somebody I know broke their clavicle.
It was not good.
They were up in the mountains.
It's not a good place to break.
Clearly not a mountaineer.
They're falling and breaking.
But you have to do this.
Is that good?
Oh.
No.
That's air left.
Yeah, that's a helicopter.
Yeah, that's a basket.
The person was put in.
It puts the lotion in the basket.
Hell of a ride.
Now, great view.
Not stars, though.
No, spent the night.
Dark, rocky outcrop.
That's why I don't hike.
Is that it?
Yeah.
Not going to catch me hiking.
Sorry, I should.
Do not Google car accident, Steen, or you won't leave the house ever again.
Ah, let's go to the NFL.
Big trade yesterday.
Well, it wasn't just DeMonte.
Adam's getting done.
You're bills.
They got a wide receiver.
Look at this.
Amari Cooper,
who's had a million targets this year,
but most of them way off the mark
because Deshawn Watson's been throwing him the ball.
Or as someone called him on the internet yesterday,
Diddy Watson?
He looks a little chubby.
He's a good player.
Hey, he's a good player.
Raider, Cowboy, Brown, and now a Bill.
He'll be great.
Very good player.
Exactly what the bill's need.
Just a guy that he's where he's,
supposed to be run a good route get open catch the ball going to run some routes

Did he Akonkka, Kathy.
Jonathan David, you're good.
Is that piece?
No.
30th international goal for David.
Kyle Laron also hit 30.
They're the first two ever to score 30 year national goals for Canada.
It's golden era, boys.
Get excited.
World Cup's going to be here a couple summers.
You don't need to tell me.
I know.
I'm already there.
Road trip.
Well, that soccer merch behind you in your shot, I can tell.
Big footy guy.
I've got some snakes and gators and some
bits of stuff.
Cancel.
What are we doing with?
We had the summer.
You went away.
The snakes and the gators.
Jack.
Okay.
I got a food one then.
What was,
I got a food one.
You like food, right?
No, Jack.
What?
What?
Pizza.
Weren't you in here working together?
It's like you have a chat with Jack about this,
Dean.
When you guys were in here working over the weekend.
I can't tell Penny.
or what not to put in the Pender report?
I'm just not going to listen.
It's not the Jop.
It's like Red's top five.
We can't change Red's top five.
It's like boomers, rumors.
We can't get you to unhear what you're hearing.
Anyway, pepperoni, your favorite pizza?
What's your favorite pizza?
No, you do your snakes.
Yeah, no, that's fine.
What's your favorite pizza?
No, no.
What's your favorite pizza?
I'm not playing with this game.
It's not happening.
I'm an all dressed kind of good.
All dressed pizza.
So here we are, look at this.
This is good stuff.
That's fake.
That's a
fake.
That's your Pinder report.
Pizza.
Oh, you have more.
I can see.
Jack has it in the chamber.
Don't eat it.
No, I don't want to make Dean mad.
Good.
It's the Pinder report.
I'm seeing in the comments of you snake emojis.
Okay, fine.
We'll play the snake.
What the hell happened to the snake?
Who cares?
What's it, Jack?
the snakes
Yeah, Jack.
Yeah, come on Jack.
Oh, look, you feed your pet snakes.
Whoops.
Quick.
See, why would I take this dead mouse
when I get out of his finger?
He's just looking at this fall?
He's not looking at a screen.
He's smarter.
Temperature's going to dip over the next couple days.
I heard that Monday. 16, the high today,
11 and then 12.
We're right low in the negatives tonight?
And then look at next week.
Single digit highs.
I got to go to red deer tomorrow.
The red,
you got,
you're doing the deer?
How many setters are you going to see?
I'm thinking a few.
It's a Glen Cross charity type of events.
Oh,
yeah.
Nice.
Are you going to stop at the,
the donut mill or whatever it is there?
No.
No?
Didn't you hear noodles say I look jacked?
What else is there?
You're not staying at the Black Night Inn.
I know that.
Turn that down, didn't they?
Yeah.

Village Honda and look at this maybe some pre-owned
90 units on site access to over
500 more inside the dealership group

Now,
uh-oh.
Today's the 16th.
So you go for it.
Next Friday is the 25th?
Yes.
Oh, excited.
Very excited for this.
So next Friday,
are we,
is it a whoopty-do?
You know, I just realized.
I think my wife's out of town next Friday.
See, because you were,
is it a whoop-to-do or a hoop-do or a hoop-do?
to do.
It's all the above.
Whoopty, whoopty do?
I'm going to say whoop.
So you're just going to combine the same.
Yeah, I think I've, I think it's a big whoop doop do.
Because you see, there's, there's origin brewing.
And Jamie, I don't know how news just now to figure out that we've got our own beer,
the Barn burner blonde, it's origin brewing in Strathmore.
But you know, they've added the OC origin,
Calgary. They have taken over a huge facility here in the city.
Beautiful.
Got a tap room in there. They're pumping out more product. There's more, I can't say
too much. But there's more collaborating between the two sides, us and origin.
It's potentially on the way. So it's 943-28th Street, Northeast. Of course, you're still doing
the thing in Strathmore, but now they've got a home in Calgary. So remember for a while,
while we're saying, oh, you can get it delivered or you got it.
If you're in Strathmore, we're stopped by, it's in Calgary now.
If it's not at your local watering hole or the liquor store nearest you, by all means
go somewhere else.
Yeah, go somewhere else or tell them, hey, if you don't get this stuff in here.
Or you can check it out at 94328th Street, Northeast.
Next Friday, the 25th is their whoopty-do party.
Grand opening.
It's the whoopty-do at the OC.
And we are going to be there.
show from origin calgary location in the northeast and i don't know how this is going to uh play
out we're going to do the show at noon is that the plan that is the plan because they open at noon
yeah to invite people to be there with us uh close is going to be later you say noon and don't need tickets
swing by whenever food available smoked meats i'm being told beer specials music games prizes
i don't know that i'm going to be hurry to get out of there music
Like music of bingo?
Do they play music bingo?
Music,
they've got all kinds of games.
Yeah,
whatever you want to play,
they'll do it for you.
Oh,
man.
Like,
Django with the two by fours?
Oh,
yeah,
that's a good one.
Yeah.
You know,
what's great is when we were,
okay,
pick a day,
the 25th,
how's it looks?
We were all kind of coordinating.
And I,
we were talking amongst the two of us,
Ryan and I said,
start time.
When should we start?
To be good to maybe,
should we do something a little bit separate
so that,
you know,
you don't tie in the sponsors
in case things go sideways.
and Ryan was like, well, I'm not sure. Fridays aren't really good for me.
That's why a t-shirt diggers.
Because I've got, you know, I've got the kids and stuff.
It's not going to be a runaway for me.
But.
And that's now in the course of about three or four days turned into, you know, my wife's out of town.
Listen, it's commitment to the cause, guys.
If it's ever been in dose, come on.
He'll find a way.
High kicking, low scoring.
Next Friday, we want you to be there.
You'll have details.
up on our socials, as far as the location, the times and all that.
But book it next Friday, Barnburner coming to you from the O.C.
Origin Calgary.
It's a great spot.
I'm happy for them.
They were doing a lot with a little in terms of space there in Strathmore.
They needed more room.
And you get into the Calgary market now.
Now they're just pumping out that sweet, sweet Barnburner blog.
Just hearing from Sterling.
It sounds like they're wrapping up harvest and the crew is going to come out that day.
that have been working the harvest.
How thirsty you get harvesting.
I mean, you get so thirsty.
Yeah, I mean, Dusty.
Jack, can you be on location that day or do you need to be here?
You don't need to be here.
Why would you be here?
Yeah, I'll be there.
I think we'll figure it out.
Figure it out.
We'll figure it out away.
I'll be there.
We'll figure it out.
That's the can do attitude.
Figure it out.
We'll figure it out.
Yeah, we'll figure it out.
Nice.
Figuring shit out here.
Figure it out.
I came to sign a white t-shirt get the barbecue
got a barbecue stand on your white t-shirt
could I request a song?
Oh God.
What do you want to hear?
Could I hear
I got a barbecue stain in my white t-shirt?
Yeah, I'll get that.
Sure.
Coming right up for you.
That's the name of the song.
I got a barbecue staying in my way.
Let's take a look at our bet 365 for today.
Now, today's Wednesday.
And now there is a horse bleep.
Thursday night football game if I'm not
sadly. It's Denver and New Orleans
which will feature the
much anticipated.
Bo Nix Spencer
Rattler. That's his name, right? Spencer
Rattler. Yeah, that's the one we're
really excited for.
Olavé injured. Yeah.
Shaheed might be able to... Hill injured,
car injured.
Yeah.
Alave concussed Shaheed out
on the other side.
Oh.
Hey, we played each other this week.
Yeah, I saw that.
Good luck to you, sir.
Good luck to you.
Good for you, Dean.
Way to go, Dean.
Yeah.
I got a combined 1.46 out of my wide receivers last week, I think.
I'll take the over this way.
As Marv Harrison decided, ah, my brain hurts.
And Don Tavian Wick said, I'm not going to play it today.
I'm going to be week to week after you start me.
Not ideal, prick.
Let's do that again.
Bet 365 right there in your screen.

Tonight, you showed it in the Pinder Report.
The hockey club is taking on the orange,
the overly orange ducks.
Duckbell orange, yeah.
Dylan Gunther has played four hockey games.
He has five goals.
This is not necessarily a parlay, but here's some things you could certainly look at.
He is averaging over two and a half shots per game.
He is an anytime goal scorer.
And if he's going to score a goal, he's probably getting a point for it.
Brett, give us the details on that.
How does that work?
He scores a goal.
How many points?
Workboots, signs of time.
Assists without a...
If there's a...
I'll get back to you on that one.
If there's an assist, there's a goal.
I think is how the math goes.
Okay.
So if there's a goal, is there a point?
I guess we need to kind of peel back the layers on it a bit.
Tomorrow show?
Yeah, top five.
Top five ways to get a point.
Okay, we'll do that tomorrow.
So that's, there you go, Gunther's been real good.
I wonder what his ceiling is?
I think they just extended him for eight years.
Is it 30 feels safe?
35, 40, what do we talk?
I don't know.
I'm also,
same game fellas look at this are you the uh hockey club minus 1 30 just a win yeah i like that
yeah yeah and then i'm also on the anytime goal plus 175 including overtime you love to see it go
hockey clubs yeah everyone's a big fan of hockey club oh there's like these orphans that have been
brought in by this lovely couple that has always wanted as a child and then they go from
You know, please, sir, I have another to like, spoil the lack of luxury.
People care about them and their needs.
It was a nice hotel room and some food.
I just want to eat.
I just want to say a nice hotel.
I'm a pro athlete.
I just don't want to be at the Lakinta.
I was just hoping to get more of the 5,000 fans in here.
Pillows in these cheap-ass hotels are terrible.
I took a blue light to my bed.
I can't sleep here.
I just want to be able to sleep.
They're so happy and content.
So happy.
They're self-actualizing.
Sappy.
That's what they are.
They're just sappy right now.
Just wait until tomorrow's Bet365.
And we really get to sink our teeth into the Bo, Nick Spencer, Rattletback.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's going to be great.
Real good.
Bet 365, the world's largest sports betting platform, whatever the sport, whatever the moment,
it's never ordinary at Bet365.
Get it.
Get it on your phone.
Enjoy yourself.
Treat yourself.
you deserve it.
None of those are.
It's not official slogans.
No.
No,
no,
just heads up on that.
Jack,
how do you think we did today?
I think we did excellent.
Noodles was great.
Yeah,
it was.
Covered the game very well.
I am going to be looking at
Shevel Day and Jamie Rivers' foreheads.
Yeah,
so he's scanning.
Yeah,
a little more closely than I would have.
Yeah.
The package now you can check out the,
I saw skull.
Between the benches.
I could see his skull.
Ugh.
I might cut.
Ah, you might need a couple.
That's old school, hey?
When you've got skin flap hanging down over your eyebrows.
Did he get me?
Am I cut?
Yeah, you might need a few there, Shev.
Tomorrow is Thursday.
Sure is, Dean.
Flames are not, I mean, they're taking some time.
It's an unusual couple days.
I'm assuming today it's an off day.
They make him another.
It is an off day.
They had some post-game locker room.
They showed Husk's, hey, I liked what you did.
You were something else.
And all you guys are just a whole bunch of good guys in here.
And you know what?
Tomorrow's an off day.
Go have fun tonight.
And they said, okay, coach.
They said, no days off.
Yippie.
They said, no days off.
No days off.
I can't believe Husk is a quitter.
No.
You'd feel like he's fine.
sitting on your laurels, right?
Got these guys going.
You're kind of like the coach.
How come you never come in and tell us how good we didn't.
Well, I defer to Jack.
Jack's our boss.
I defer to Jack because I'm in here.
I can't really focus.
I'm not judging.
I'm in it.
I can't really tell.
You're not analyzing?
No.
But Jack never really is very critical.
At the time I asked him, he said, oh, it was great.
Oh, he was awesome.
He got, oh, it was terrific.
Jamie, although he did say Jamie was good.
He didn't really.
to bring up any of us.
The three of you were great today.
Day off tomorrow.
Hey!
Yes, sir, coach.
I can't argue.
I was going to say,
you can't do that, Jack.
He's the boss.
We're waiting for retro tomorrow.
Oh, he thought you were serious.
So, yeah.
Not enough to tell me twice, Jagger.
I love a three-day work week.
Yep.
Who doesn't?
Even better than four.
Who doesn't?
I take Thursday.
Mays well take Friday, too.
I could.
Two-day work week.
I got to travel all the way to Red Deer.
It takes a lot out of a guy.
Can you find that?
It might be hard for you.
You probably can't.
Last night from the chat.
We have these super chats.
Oh, yeah.
I can love it.
I'm slow to,
I'm slow to,
I'm slow.
If you're watching on,
on the YouTube and that,
you can interact with the show and there's comments and stuff.
You can ask questions.
Now we,
again,
I don't focus on it a lot because I'm,
got a lot in my head, eh?
have all these stats and notes.
Yeah, like last year when they had four or five different times
when they won four in a row, right?
Right.
Yeah.
That's what you do.
How am I supposed to know that without no, Red?
19th to March 2nd.
Yeah, five game money street.
Detroit.
On a big Boston, I'm inton, all the Pittsburgh.
So there's super chats, which is, I guess there's a financial,
there's an exchange.
of currency,
in which case,
we're really going to focus on this message
that you've sent us because you've donated to the cause.
And somebody last night made a sizable,
on Afterburn, with Canton and I,
there was a sizable donation made.
Really?
I forgot all that.
I'm going to remember that.
And you know what it was?
There we go.
Yankee Reaper,
10 Bones, Wolf, the MVP,
go flames,
Go, I guess go Flames go.
We rule.
We cannot be stopped.
Oh, geez.
The Reaper was, he was excited.
The period was in the wrong spot.
Yeah, he threw me, but yeah, okay.
And he probably wanted to do a buck and threw in 10.
Right?
Was having a good night.
It's like, damn it.
A decimal.
It's in the wrong spot.
And my period.
I got to get my period.
So, my period game is the shit.
So is Reapers going to be pretty happy with the ALCS, I guess.
I think so.
What's the latest?
Two nothing, buddy.
Yeah.
But like looking good, they've already exposed the soft underbelly of the guardians.
You know, we don't do.
We don't count chickens, man.
Things can go sideways.
Who do you want?
Take care of business at home.
Took care of business at home.
I hope it's just nasty.
So there you go.
So that was some super chats.
Now, we'll do a couple other ones as we end.
here. Now there's no guarantees. These people are cheap.
They didn't do anything.
But Jonathan
says, I'm heading to the game next Tuesday.
See you next Tuesday. What are the best
bars to hit up before the game?
All of them.
Yeah.
This question, like.
What are the best bars?
I mean,
all of them.
If they're open.
They'll all be open. And there's people
inside. Go to origin.
Be serving. You can go to the O.C.
Do you go to the O.C?
It's a bit of a hike from
to the game, but it's not the closest to the game.
Yeah.
What was the question?
Was it the closest to the best bars or just the best bars?
Go to Tutsis for the game.
Tutsis is great Nashville.
It's a great bar.
Great bar.
The Roxy apparently is very happening again.
Yeah.
Very on.
Very on points.
So that would be good.
Guys, which jersey would you recommend me by of the young guys?
Thank you, question mark.
Thank you.
There again, probably the
punctuation issues.
Question mark after the
young guys and then a thank you
is, you know what he's saying?
Pactuation, fellas.
Mace. A lot of time spent
today talking about Zeri and Wolf.
If it's today.
Just today.
I'm getting the 47.
Me too. I like the number.
Connor's area. I like the number. It looks good on them.
32. Good one as well.
I like 47. You're not, well, you don't like
Wolf. I like Wolf.
What's he done to you?
goal, yeah.
Goalies always get the recognition.
Stupid goalies.
Steal all the linelet from you.
Game 7, you don't get a ring.
Hasick and Mika just stealing the spotlight from you.
KQ, when is Barnburner vacation?
Tomorrow.
Yeah, we're taking it off.
It's true.
Jack said, no, guys, we got to do a show tomorrow.
Who the hell are you to argue with Jack?
No, that's a boss, man.
You always want Jack to chime in.
And he does and you try to overrule.
Now you're musling.
Uh, muzzler.
I was really thinking the Oilers were going to lose again last night.
It looked good for all.
It was so good for fights.
You could just see the lights which get flicked on.
I think they're going to be fine.
Is Corey Perry ever going to stop playing?
Like, is he ever going to stop playing?
I actually know, just keep swang.
But just worse and worse and worse.
Like, lose that fight, please.
Don't saw it off.
He has two goals?
Yeah.
I just wanted to play worse.
I know.
I had high hopes.
Hi,
hopes.
We got high hopes plans for the rest of the day.
Now that it's a really long weekend.
So,
do we work Friday?
We're taking Thursday.
Or are we cruising right?
Why would we do?
Can't come back for a one day Friday.
Yeah.
Like, no.
I got the guys from Crystal coming over.
Crystal Waters.
Is that right?
Yeah.
Today or tomorrow?
Today.
To a cloud.
Oh, geez, you're going to need a couple days to recover from that.
Do you need a new hot water heater?
Probably.
An AC?
Yes.
Furness.
Can your AC blowout?
I need a lot of.
stuff. You mentioned, you mentioned
Barber. Discounts upgrades up to
a thousand bucks.
Don't forget to do that. Mark me down.
Marked. Marked down.
See you Thursday, buddy. I'm starving.
Are you? What do you feeling like?
Chicken fingers.
That's right down the street. Spicy? Chicken fingers.
It's kind of got their hooks in me right.
I was, but are you going? Because I, you've mentioned it on three times.
Oh.
Okay, guys, I'm gone for the day.
It feels like you leave here and then you're kind of gone.
No, he's going to the chicken place.
Oh, I see.
So we all could have gone for chicken, but you've solo chicken.
You're too slow.
I said, I'm hungry.
I'm not going to sit around and wait.
And I'd rather not have people watching meat chicken.
And a great poochier costs going on the weekend.
I can't really.
You can do that there?
You know James.
Jaime had one.
Really like, it's not aware of that.
I have a bit of a move, but I'm not going to mention it.
I'll just keep it from us.
Class.
You just mentioned it.
Well, you see what you can do.
What's important to you in the Poutine?
There are three things.
There are French fries.
There are gravy.
There are cheese curds.
In top five,
in rank, in importance,
most to least.
Gravy.
Fry curd.
Okay.
I'm about the same.
The gravy matters, fries.
Curds are, it's part of Poutine.
It's got to be the right cheese, but sure.
But if they were,
if they put up their fries and gravy for the same price,
I'm not buying it any less than I am when I'm buying the Poutine.
Okay.
So what Big Boy does, you can get the gravies.
You go into the thing, it'll be like add-ons or whatever, extras.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A cup of gravy is 30 cents.
Get out of here.
So you go chicken fingers that come with fries, two side gravies.
60 cents.
Sheep as chips.
Only move you're missing is you've got to swing through the dairy out and grab some cheese on the way through.
And you've got the real point.
You know, like you say, it's, uh...
Wow.
A lot of people.
I'm in the old.
I'm a hurry right now.
I almost feel bad for it.
If you look inside your heart, you don't have to be a rate of what you are.
Dollars.
It's a lot of the table and the fossil green beans.
With the strength to care and you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the that I hear one new
