Starting point is 00:02:16 Yeah. There's a lot of people in the stadium for a long time, apparently, hoping, hope for the game to start. Yeah, we have some bad news and we have some good news. The good news is we will be playing the game. The bad news is it'll be tomorrow. Shit. Damn it.

Starting point is 00:05:18 That's it? we're into year four with many luck we will get the technical issues we'll smooth it out yeah we'll smooth that out what I also enjoy is if there's ever something going on

Starting point is 00:05:33 you know things aren't working Ryan's always in there trying to help is hey did you get this Ryan I love you just leave the technical just just don't no didn't have any formal I went one day again it was for a

Starting point is 00:05:48 a concert at the big four and it was great. But no. No, I really didn't. I thought, you know what? I wanted, here's what it was. I wanted to go to see Shania. I figured it'd be a great show. You'd know every song.

Starting point is 00:06:03 You'd go with a group of friends. Hey, hey, look at all of us. Hey, my lady. Didn't get there. And I figured I'm going to have some FOMO because I'm going to see how, hear all the stories. Everybody had such a great time. I didn't really hear anything.

Starting point is 00:06:16 Now I'm sure it was a great show. The shoveler said it was great. The shoveler went. The shovel was not a Shania person, but the shoveler was thought that Shania put on one hell of a show, actually. Lots of energy. It looked great. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:06:27 So I didn't, that was the Saturday. It was. Two Saturdays ago or whatever. I don't know why you have to get home on Monday if you go to the show on Saturday night, but whatever. Hmm. Lost a day in there.

Starting point is 00:06:41 It's weird. But no, I really didn't. I went on the Sunday. So on Sunday, on Sunday, I'm watching the rodeo in Saskatchewan. And I'm like, geez, you know, we really should get involved, go down to the Chucks. Maybe we should buy a great show. Maybe we should sponsor.

Starting point is 00:07:01 We should go to the stampede. We should go to the auction, the tarpuck. Then we could buy one. Yeah. Chance Vegan. Yes. Be great. Get our names on his tarp.

Starting point is 00:07:13 Yeah. I don't know. I had the fomo after. I'm like, I'm a loser. I'll tell you. But then it got stabby and I'm like, I don't want to be stabby. Stabby's no good. No, it's not good.

Starting point is 00:07:28 But I wouldn't take that as, it doesn't go hand in hand with the stampede. Like you can not get stabbed. No, which is nice. Just being a bit of smart. See, that was my experience. I did go. Had, what, I had some of that barbecue.

Starting point is 00:07:44 You know, they got the barbecue all set up. the big I had some, uh, some ribs, had a couple of drinks, watched a concert, didn't get stabbed, went home. So that was my experience at the stampede.

Starting point is 00:07:56 No, I have, I have a great deal of respect. I've said this before. They put on an unbelievable show. It's so well organized and, uh, who is calling me?

Starting point is 00:08:08 Don't they know I'm doing a show? Goodness. I was driving in here and I had three people, not that I'm that popular, but just on today for some reason. Three people. people. Hey, call me. I got to talk to you around, call me around 10.30. Yeah. Come on, guys. We got this hugely successful show. Like, you actually know what I do even. These are people that are

Starting point is 00:08:31 in my phone. Yeah. But hey, you know, he's congrats to everybody at Stampede. Aside from the, aside from the one that again near record crowds, they didn't miss us on the looks of things. No, they did. They did not miss us. So, um, they had to blip on the map on the map. but I don't think that was they're doing. I don't think it's probably one of those things that they have zero control over and that's a societal issue. It is. Yeah, it is.

Starting point is 00:08:58 Don't blame the artists or the entertainment. It's, you know, probably some things along the way. Also heard the Cowboys, the new facility. Yeah. Off the church. That's what I heard.

Starting point is 00:09:10 That, yeah, I bought my kid tickets to Zach Top, which was one of the first shows. over there. He said it was unbelievable. He's he's he's quite young yet. He's like 20 or whatever. So everything's it's a big crowd. It's a lot of people. They had a hell of a time. And limited violence from what I understand. So congrats to cowboys and way to go. Everybody at doing the old stampede deal. But yeah, there's a lot of people there. A lot of people like the stampede. Did you get

Starting point is 00:09:42 some donuts? Did you have any of the deep fried Oreos? Did you know? No, no, didn't do that. um so what have you been doing child rearing dean yeah is that the same as looking after if you're rearing what is parenting i guess parenting got you yeah um there has i don't think there's been a ton going on since we spoke last when did we last do i was here last tuesday i was as well yeah i think i missed thursday yeah tuesday yeah i didn't it's a week A week ago. Starting point is 00:12:45 But I think it actually had some sort of a, this is the longest. I'm sure there's some westerns. But you can have a gunfight scene. It's got to be good. Yeah. Right? Like just standing there, pow, pow. Well, okay.

Starting point is 00:13:48 It's a sweet little spot. It's great. especially this time of year when it's, everything's green and lush, the hill, rolling hills through there on mosquito. Yeah. I think I had told you,

Starting point is 00:13:59 because we were there for my daughter's, softball provincials, we were one of the last teams to qualify and be darned. If all the hotels in, Wayne Wright were just booked right up. Oh, you don't say. Yeah. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:14:13 So we were commuting multiple times to hardest, It's about 40 minute drive. Do they have a from Hardesty home of someone? I think it, I think it is home to someone because the name rings a bell. Also, I know that there was kind of a,

Starting point is 00:14:37 I think it was CBC did like a reality show. The week the women left. They went to Hardesty and they took all the women to, I don't know, Edmonton, put them up in a hotel and spa. and so they did early. So all the dudes were left behind and hardesty to get kids to school and do cooking and stuff like that. Now, would this be taxpayer money that fund set?

Starting point is 00:15:00 I'm sure it was. Yeah. Yeah. Because I want some of that. Can we? Do you want the spa? Do you just want the women to leave? Which end?

Starting point is 00:15:11 Yeah. Either one. I don't want to be at the spa. The women are at that left. Yeah. As long as I'm not where they are. then it's just fine. But no, it was a tough weekend on the old diamonds.

Starting point is 00:15:25 No. That's disappointing to hear. So your last in and you got your asses handed to you? Last in and she was a shit pumping pretty much all around. But that's okay, you know? Who was the team to beat, do you know? There was. I'm not sure because there was a team that we also had a handful with.

Starting point is 00:15:43 They were from Cochran. And I believe they also had a really. In Cochran. They had a tough. weekend as well as I understand. There was one team. We were trying to figure out because there was four letters and it was a conglomeration.

Starting point is 00:15:57 Cheed. Like this town, this town, this town and this town. So they know little hamlets like czar with a C and H. Maybe it was hardest here. So they were real good. Like they were real good. Yeah. There were there are some kids on our team, including my daughter. This is her first year this spring. She'd never put on a glove. She hadn't thrown a ball.

Starting point is 00:16:20 This was year one. there were some girls in that team. I dare say not their first year. They've been doing this a while. Were they zipping it in there? They were zipping it right in there and hitting it out there too. Oh, nice. Yeah, everything they were doing.

Starting point is 00:16:35 But I got to say, I got to say, give a tip of the old cap to a couple of the boys. A couple guys came up on, I guess it was the Friday. Try to remember it all blends together. It's like, hey, boomer. Yeah, yeah. Hey, we just wanted to come over and say, hi. the guy's bust and the other guy's, well, this guy's a huge fan. He's a big guy.

Starting point is 00:16:55 He's going to, he's going to be sniffing your crotch. He's a big fat. He's a big fan a long time and watching. They came, they're from consort. And they, which is somewhere around there, I think we also lost the consort. The Cubs, I think that was our last game. Anyway, so the boys came up and I think they were working around there, but they heard, yeah, we heard you were coming away and right.

Starting point is 00:17:20 and we figured this must have been, you know, Calgary team, not many Calgary teams. So they came to say hi, they love the show. So to the boys from Consort who are doing it up there, getting her done, they did say, fuck the Oilers. So I said, that's good. That's good message.

Starting point is 00:17:36 We can all get behind that messaging. I can all do that. Yeah. Yeah. There was one kid on a brother of one of the girls on the team. He was a big oiler fan. And I hadn't seen him. I don't think I'd seen him since the,

Starting point is 00:17:49 since the cup final was done. And he's, yeah, he's a good little kid. He's running around. He's got his oiler stuff on July. He's like, hey, so when's game seven? His face just dropped. Come on. I'm still sad about it.

Starting point is 00:18:13 I'm sorry. That was probably not fair. I'm sorry, buddy. Pick it on the kids. Yeah. Because yeah, the last time I was up in that Edmonton area, I was on my, you know, like you make fun of it, my little concert tour. They were loving life.

Starting point is 00:18:26 I think that was the Vegas series. Oh. Oh. Pretty cocky, all them up there. It looked real good then. Yeah, they looked real good. Some guys, even as much as a week later, had them winning the whole thing. That was a week earlier even.

Starting point is 00:18:42 Podcasts, yeah. Yeah, kind of threw out the whole deal. Oh, well, you know, I forget how it worked out, but I'm sure they did win. Even if they didn't. It's good sports. Yeah. Just want good entertainment. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:26:27 That's it right there. And it was quite good. Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of Spats, how about the run that Nick Tarnaski, Tarnaski is getting off of that golf course? It is everywhere. And we had, it was like Tuesday. It was a week ago.

Starting point is 00:26:44 I think we had a few, maybe even longer. Yeah. I was like, God, you see this? I think we were one of the first. But everybody's talking about that. Well, and I wondered about this. because they're in red deer yeah and then the red he's coaching and the red deer minor hockey had to do a yeah investigation sure and i feel like it was tarnaski's buddy that was doing the video right yeah

Starting point is 00:27:14 yeah yeah probably yeah and i'm like wouldn't you ask the guy like hey could i throw this on whatever it is yeah yeah social media right like hey did you ask was he okay with you it like i feel like if i'm in that situation i'm probably don't you effing dare put that on on social media probably the guy that got thrown in the drink would have been asking could you please not put this on social media because i first i look like a straight dickhead and then i get my ass handed to me and i keep coming back for more i mean it really is a special it is it to the points i have to watch it a couple is this real or is this like Like, we'll rip on in pinners, this is set up.

Starting point is 00:27:59 This is not. No, this is not. This is, this is a guy taking an actual beating for being an actual dickhead. And I like the fact that he was kind of instigating. I don't know that. Newer technology has come along in centuries. Yeah. Like barbecue is basically something over fire. Heat, fire, food.

Starting point is 00:36:14 So no, I would say that's fairly standard. I'm sure you can gadget it up, but in the traditional sense, no, there's no. Hmm. Maybe we should run a poll. Well, maybe we should be doing that. Maybe we should be thinking, how do we revolutionize the barbecue, the grill, the home grill? What else can it do? Yeah, the problem goes back to like you said, it's fire, some sort of thing to hold it over the fire.

And I think we even referenced it or I brought it up that the murderers row that the Blue Jays had to start the season. on the road teams you had to play. If they can somehow get through that, then they might be in good shape. And it's, well, yeah. So if you play a bunch of good teams and don't lose all of them, then you'll be, that stands to reason.

But here they are, I would not have guessed that, uh, and I mean, the Yankees had, they had a bit of a slide in there too. Still like the Yankees' chances. You know, it's good for baseball. Starting point is 01:19:10 I've said it before. If this is one of people come to visit, if you've got some oldies, oh, grand, grab your uncle and that. There's one of just. let's take the younger crew and say yeah we're going to uh we're just going to go to it yeah you don't need to even tell them it's a pub and then once you get there you can have some drinks and really enjoy yourself oh we're going to play it's kind of an arcade video games you know lots of activity kind of louder things going on oh well yeah oh you guys go ahead you can do that

Starting point is 01:19:39 yep that's how that works it's a bar they've got great food they've got the arcade games they've got the lounge they're the the alley on the side they got the patio out front, a great spot to disappear for a day if you got family in town or just in general. If you're looking for something that's a little bit different and it's fun to do during the course of summer, make sure you get them on your radar. But it's a sneaky good move. It's a sneaky pro tip for when you got family in from out of town because I'm betting, you know, maybe they're from Hardesty or something.
