Hello, friends. Welcome to the show on a, it's already Tuesday.
Behehe.
This is easy.
This is easy.
Loving it.
Welcome to the show, presentation of Bet365.
Hockey fans, check out Bet365s.
Three goal early payout.
Your team goes up by three.
You get paid just like that.
It's that simple.
Download the app today.
You must be 19 or older.
Please play responsibly.
That's all we ask.
Yeah.
Good.
And as we are lost.
we have the super chat going
if you want to comment in the YouTube
we'll take the money to get it to the U.S.
and I'll put you comment on the show. That's how we'll do that
for you. So we welcome
welcome everybody to the show. How
how's the mood?
Yeah.
I think he's glad he saves some money, but you know.
The damn sabers, it was once again
one of those, geez, I really wish I was in Buffalo. Game 7.
Yeah, this is going to be great, isn't it?
Amazing. Yeah.
And then.
And then the.
Habs were up by two early.
Thank goodness.
I could I go to this game.
But then.
Then the Sabres scored two to tie the game,
Ryan, and I was thinking in my head.
Damn it.
Anyway, I sure wish I was at this game.
The bad.
Overtime.
This is great.
Then it wasn't.
Thank goodness.
I saved all that money.
Do we know when the habs are going to run out a lot?
They're not.
It's the same as the horseshoe thing.
No, the 86 when they won?
Well, 90.
It was 93.
It wasn't when John Leclair.
That's what it was.
It was.
Goals.
Gilbert Dion and Desjardin.
They just couldn't
not win.
And I don't, like,
they had nine shots.
Last game seven and one.
And then last night and
they're going to run into like a meat grinder
here, but they
honestly don't have a lot of business
having eight wins.
already. And here they are.
And that's, Rhett talked about it before we started.
Like, you need to get bounces.
This tournament is too hard.
You're going to need some luck and to be good.
And to have a goalie and all that.
I've got a bit of both.
Have they earned both series wins?
Sure.
Sure.
Close.
They won.
So, but boy, they could have been out a long time ago.
They could have been out today.
I think they were the second best team in two game sevens.
And they've won them both.
I'd agree with that.
I would agree with that.
Which, you know, it's not the end of the world.
We see it all the time where it's like,
yeah, you'll play a team, you lose, and that happens.
And their goal has been bloody unbelievable in game sevens.
What was he, 35 or 36 last game seven?
And now he allows two on whatever.
Like, you're getting 950 probably from your goalie in game sevens.
That helps.
I want that save last night, too.
Too much to ask, Dean?
I want that safe.
Well.
Which one?
Yeah.
Over time.
Well, the UPL in overtime.
You definitely want that one.
It's a roll.
The puck was on the thing, on the side.
Should mention McLeod Law.
We're here in the McLeod Law Studios.
Safe space.
Did the Sabres have a case today for maybe a quick whistle,
a no-goal call, is there anything that the Sabres could?
I think they should have reviewed the foot deflection.
Yeah.
I don't know that they would have overturned it.
but it should have been,
we're going to give this a second time.
The danger is that you throw them right back on that power play,
which has been their bread and butter.
The habs have been living.
No, no, no, no.
You can't even,
you're not allowed to challenge to challenge that.
It has to be.
He's meaning he'd like the officials.
I think the league of the officials should have said,
hey.
I agree with that.
It's a big game.
The stakes are high.
Like, why not take a look at it?
That's what I was.
Yeah, sorry.
I thought you were saying that.
No, no, I don't think the Sabers.
think I thought they said on the broadcast,
you're not even allowed to challenge for the kicking motion.
So whatever, but I do think that the league could have taken a 30 second.
Stakes are high.
Let's get it right.
It's game seven.
Like, oh, we want these games.
We've had a front of the crease issue before.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Now that said, what do you think the officials would have determined?
I don't think they would have overturned it.
It would have stood.
Because he does open his foot a bit, but it's after the puck hits it.
after the puck's hit it.
So there's intent to try to direct it in.
Well, it's after the puck hits it.
Like he's angling, which is fine.
And then when he starts to move his foot,
it's already bounced off.
This is the challenge when you have rules that have all this must be gray.
Your interpretation is to say,
I think we're all in agreement.
They would have counted it.
But we've seen crazier shit.
Like the Anheim goal on Edmonton,
no one was in position to call it a goal.
They called it a goal.
Like you never know with this league.
They can screw up calls that you're pretty sure.
you're going to go the other way. There's times where we've all been very adamant.
We have it right. And well, like the Blake Coleman one was absolutely insane.
You think about that series against Edmonton and 22. He's hitting the brakes and they call
that a kicking motion. Yeah. Well, that's fucking insane. I've never seen anything. So clear cut,
not a kicking motion. It's a kicking motion. But I don't know. Like, what do you do?
You needed to have the better goalie? The two nothing goal was not off of a skate.
I don't think
Can the Sabres call him a cloud law
for maybe UPL
lack of support?
I'm not sure what the case would be.
It's quite a,
it's quite a pass.
It's a great shot.
It's an unbelievable pass.
Another rolling puck.
Retro are we?
That's a hellful pass.
There's, part of me goes,
did he mean to do that?
Or was he just throwing it to the front?
Yeah.
If he did mean to,
and I think he did.
I think he did.
I don't know that he knew
he was going to be that open
and get that kind of a shot.
Also as a defender for the Sabers,
you're not expecting that good if a pass.
You're what I mean?
You're going in on the guy.
He's going to get bumped.
He's on his back end.
That's tidy.
Yeah.
I don't even know.
Like, if you told the Sabers
they were going to,
your goaltending was going to allow
two through 60 minutes,
you're like, okay, we can do this.
The challenge is,
at the other end where they had numerous opportunities and could not score.
Even when goalie was down and out or there was a huge pile of bodies,
like we can go look at the two.
It's still only two.
Like three won you the game if you got to three.
That's a good point.
That's what you needed to do.
And you're calling card as a team,
which we talked about was you're a top five offense in the NHL.
You've got great speed, depth.
You've got a lot of guys that can score.
You couldn't get to three.
So it's on Dobish and it's on you for not finishing.
Yeah, if there's no question about it,
They outshot the HABs 30 to 14 from the start of the second period through overtime.
They were all over them.
How they didn't manage.
It was another one of those things where Dobish is down and the puck is there.
And you're just looking at the net.
You're looking at the back of the net.
I'm going to see the puck in there any second now.
And it doesn't get there.
Just somehow miraculously stays out.
Tage Thompson had the great chance in overtime.
Good.
kind of a, you know,
whatever you want to call it.
It's odd man rush.
It's a chance.
He manages to hang on to the puck the entire time,
but not get a shoot.
Like it's incredible.
It's incredible.
I think he should have.
I thought he should have passed.
He had the five hole two there.
It's just,
there's just, there's a guy on him.
But he's all just.
But the defenders on the wrong side of him.
Like he's got the inside.
Oh, all of it.
But he's leaning.
He's like,
like he's holding.
he's holding him off.
There's a good.
Not ideal.
So that was a big moment.
And then he kind of,
Peace Sabers.
Then he kind of turned the puck over.
I guess kind of just kind of
bit of a turn over.
Well,
the overtime winner,
that's the Dolew.
That was Dahlene.
Dahlene's getting cute at the line
and you're like,
get this deep or get it on.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I agree with,
I think that's more of the Dallene
trying to make a play.
Yes, 100%.
He goes to shoot a lot.
tough spot there.
This is all
before that too.
But he's,
Dahlien's trying to get cute
at the line and you're like,
you're running out of space of time,
buddy,
like get this summer safe.
And instead it gets poked to an open area
and then the HABs come in,
but look like three on three at that point.
It's a floater to the heck.
And Newhook's just been Mr.
Cinderella,
like first rounder,
not a guy we've talked about.
And then monster post season,
back-to-back game seven winners.
You win the draw in over,
in the offensive zone and they score.
Shouldn't go like that.
Yeah.
That should not happen.
Yeah, New Hook, he's got seven in the postseason.
Is that what it is now?
He's up to seven, I think, is what it is.
You mentioned it.
It was not in overtime, but it was the eventual game winner against Tampa Bay last
round.
He gets the overtime winner here.
They've played a lot of hockey.
These Montreal Canadians, and they're about to face the team that's not played
hardly in.
They've been off for a few weeks, Dina.
I think they're just packing up with the all-inclusive flying back now.
Yeah, maybe.
Navy.
And they don't start the other series.
The Habs would have played double the amount of games at
Carolina's probably with their overtimes, yeah.
Because I think Carolina had a couple overtimes against Ottawa, maybe one.
They went to double.
They went to double, I think, didn't they, in game two or whatever it was against the Sends?
Either way, it feels like it's about double.
Yeah, no, it's got to be close.
Three games, was it three against Tampa Bay in round one?
Yeah, I'll tell you, just watching.
That was the first time in the series.
Watch it, and I get that retro year with it with,
the rooting interest in that, it, it frigging sucks.
But watching this game yesterday is like,
I still don't need it to end.
We could go best than nine.
Yeah.
It was,
it was fantastic because you didn't know who was going to win.
One goal tender at one end is,
you know,
it's like rope ad dope.
He's just taking body shots.
He's on the ropes.
He's,
knockout punches coming,
but he manages to stay in his feet
and avoid the big blow.
And they come back down,
they scored it.
They were down to two nothing.
Come back and tie it.
It's going to overtime game seven.
It was,
It was tremendous hockey.
Even the last game where both goalies got pulled and it was,
you know, it was lopside, whatever it was six on 33 for Dolbush.
Even that game was, I don't know, that's three.
No lead feels safe here.
This is, this is three one habs.
They had the league.
Hell of a series.
Fun tournament.
That was the series of round two.
And it feels like we're way down the road, but teams are halfway there.
Everyone's got eight wins.
You need 16.
Well, I feel like Montreal's been in the two best series of the playoffs.
Yep.
Tampa Bay in round one was the best series.
I think we all agreed on that.
And this one...
I got a soft spot for the ducks.
I really like that series team, but I...
Yeah, we did talk about that.
Yeah, we did bring that off.
It's true.
Yeah.
What else would be...
They'll be my...
I was cheering for the Sabres, but I'll love how the HABs play.
Yeah, and it's the most exciting brand out there.
We're going to see that again.
Like, those are the two youngest teams in that division,
and they are the two best teams in that division.
And I understand we're expecting Florida to bounce back, which is fair.
But everyone on Florida, a year older doesn't mean you're better.
Everyone on Florida, year older means you're expecting a tiny bit of diminishing returns,
whereas you've got this playoff experience for all your young halves, your young savers.
I think we're going to see these teams on collision course for a while.
That Dahlene looked awesome, right?
Yeah.
Till the OT.
Yeah, he made that mistake.
Great player?
Jack Quinn, I saw the last two games.
He looked really good.
Obviously, Benson was all over.
at the coming out party of this playoffs, being the rat.
Like there's a lot of really good players on these two teams.
The tough one is for talk.
No goals, no points in seven games, minus eight on the series.
I looked.
His scoring chance generation was good,
but I didn't watch a ton of like the whole series end to end.
And I wanted to ask,
Brett, like, what do you do here?
Because he's asking for 10 plus.
Well, that's,
because I like the player.
And at eight, I think it's done.
But there's no one going to free agency.
And somebody's going to give them way too much money.
and like, okay, so the underlying data said he created some chances,
but he's goose eggs.
Like, how do you sift through all that?
Well, you sift through it.
It's a complicated business because you're Buffalo, which is,
right, which is Winnipeg, which is, sure,
letting guys go once you got him there and the guys that like being there is something
you shouldn't be doing.
Harder to pay him all that money when he didn't produce for you,
underlying whatever BS.
The playoffs are about results, right?
Yeah, Montreal's moving on.
They have nine or seven shots
against Tampa game seven.
Point being, who gives a shit?
Accomplish it.
There's no style points.
Yeah.
So I didn't notice him be impactful enough
where you have to be desperate to pay him,
but I can see why they would still pay him.
And I don't know enough about,
the cap situation for
for the sabers either you know what I mean they got to pay
Benson and a few other guys some of their use
come off like I think Stanley and Shan but most of their top
guys they've got it they're all their good players are locked in
at good minus the you guys yeah really good like
tage not a lot of money like Rasmus signed in power is locked
long term like bow and byrm they got another year yeah
they're in a good spot and Josh Norris
Josh Norris is just a hair under eight
Tage Thompson 7.1, Ryan McLeod, three more years at five million.
Zucker, one more year.
They got Greenway at $4 million for another year.
I think they've got the room.
They just signed.
It's just a question of like, if you are going to commit the term and the dollars
at commands, okay, is that smart money or is that just keeping the band together?
He had 33 goals.
He had 36 last year.
I think you have to pay them.
I think you do too.
And you hope that the ask.
doesn't get too crazy. Well, that's just, that's just it.
I'm not paying him 12 and a half. Sorry.
Yeah. Like, can we get to nine and a half? Let's get it done.
It just would, like, the narrative is so easy. Like, if he'd scored the O.T.
winner or one of the goals last night that helped them win, like, it's done.
Like, signed the paper. And it's like, well, what is he looking for?
Because you do make a good point about the fact that there aren't.
Are we, we're good. Yeah. Um, what was I going to say? I lost my train of thought.
Tuck.
Oh, there aren't many free.
agents. No. Like he, it might not be up to the sabers. It's like Mason,
Marchman, him, Bobby McMahon. Those are going to be like your best three fours because I
think Melkens not. It's getting to Pittsburgh retired, it seems like, right? Yeah. Yeah.
Names like that don't matter. He's, honestly, he's got to be talking with his agents and his
agents going, are you stupid? We can't take a deal to stay in Buffalo. But he's got to do what's
right for him too, because I do think he likes it. It's going.
close to home. The team's good.
Blah, blah, blah. Bob's your uncle.
Like, imagine if you're the cave of the crop, what's you getting out there?
10.
Well, it's a lot of money.
I mean, that's the number we've heard Florida.
You think it's just 10 with all?
And it's just the tough part is that you look at like Tage and him and one guy's
way younger and way better and he's making 7.1.
But this is inflation.
The cap's going up.
That's tough.
Things get more expensive.
Because he's not the best player, but he's a really good player.
And he didn't impact the series as much as you wanted.
But you're better with them.
To your point, so you can go find other free agents that really want to go to Buffalo necessarily.
And what else do you have in the system?
I don't know if you've got guys.
Most of the guys have arrived, yeah.
I mean, Heleneas looked really fucking good.
I don't know that we know that mostly arrived.
I just mean, like, you've been picked, you're not going to be in the business of picking the top 10 anymore.
And a lot of the guys you have taken high have arrived.
Like Calanias, I think was the national draft here at Dino.
Does that sound right?
Yeah, he's 20.
Yeah, so two drafts ago.
Um, I'm sure there's another kid or two that could be there, but they're kind of coming out of this thing.
And yeah, he's kind of the youngest, at least as far as forwards. They've got some, some younger D, but as far as forwards.
Well, and one of the issues is back to, well, you're not attracting free agents. So you don't sign him and next year you need someone who's going there. You're going to overpay to get get get them.
Yeah. And again, we just need to know more about their system because maybe they do have guys knocking at the door.
or maybe you think you can get Mason Marchman at half price on half the term and be like,
the kids are taking this guy's slot in two years anyway.
Like,
that's it and Quinn aren't going away.
They're getting better.
I don't think they have to,
they're not in a spot where they need to pay them or they're screwed.
I also don't know that Buffalo is a,
I know Mr. Pagula can afford it,
but I don't know that they're a cap team.
Well, if they can make the playoffs like this,
they might be,
but yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like, the corporate money in Buffalo for that organization is not huge.
No.
Like there's,
as far as tuck, though, he had seven points in six games last round.
And if you go back to last round for Tampa,
Montreal did a pretty good job of keying on Nikita Kutrov.
Akutrov had some,
he had more than zero,
but he was neutralized in a good chunk of that series.
And they just,
this round they did it to Alex,
Tuck.
How old's tuck, 29, 30?
He 30.
Yeah.
I feel like you have to just kind of look past what happened here the last 10 days
and see what this guy has meant to the team, what he means to the team.
He wants to be there.
He's scored 30 or more in three of the last four years.
I just, I think you have to kind of just.
We're assuming he wants to be there, though, right?
Yeah, assuming he wants to be there.
And again, like there's at a certain number, you just say, no, that's too much.
Yeah.
And we don't know what that is where there are internal measures on him?
What's his number where he's like, I won't go below that?
There's probably lots of room.
to make a fit.
But if he wants an absolute smash hit Max money last time I'm a free agent,
huge term deal, you might have to go to market to get it.
It's very simple for us to say he should stay and they should sign him.
And I think there's a good likelihood they will.
But he is a free agent.
It's not up to the Buffalo Sabres.
Right.
It's irrelevant what the Sabres sink.
It's what Tuck wants.
Maybe they go to July 1.
All over anything.
Carolina wants them for 15.
See ya.
right I know I know
like a team like
Evanston would love that guy to come loose
because that's a guy you can slide into your top
six that helps you and there just aren't many
of those like maybe Bobby McMahon
is the top six guy in free agency but after
that I just don't see anyone in this free agent class
that can actually if you're a team
trying to improve your top six there's
not much for options like he's probably going to get
overpaid just by lack
of you know the shelves are empty
he's one of the only things in the whole store
exactly that's why it's why it's
would be interesting to see what other teams are thinking about.
I don't even know who's got room for.
Everyone's got the cap space,
maybe not 10,
but like the caps up nine and a half million from last year.
Like every team,
even if you're a capped out,
it's got nine and a half.
Now maybe you've got extensions kicking in that,
but we aren't in the age where it's like,
well, we gotta dump some bad money
and I'll give you a pick to take a bad contract like that.
10 million a year is making everything go away,
all your problem contracts.
Like, it's just every year, it's a smaller percentage of what and one year less to pay them.
It's crazy to see what the numbers are going to be on some of these guys.
I know.
I know.
I'm 17 and 17.5.
Like, what's, if Quinn Hughes signs an extension this summer, does he come in at the same number?
Connor and Austin are both have new deals coming in 28, 29, or those 20 plus?
Like, it's, we're skyrocketing cap here.
Don't, his new deal kicks in.
he's just, he's 6.95.
I think they have 12 million in cap space.
Benson is,
Benson's coming out and conversely,
he's in a great spot to negotiate for a new contract,
21 years of age.
He was tremendous.
Well,
they've got guys signed that are big time contributors for good money.
And I'm guessing they'll give Benson.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And look,
if Alex Tuck wants $80 million,
you might just say,
you know what?
Internally, we can replace them.
But if it,
It's, okay, I'll do 35 over four years.
Okay, let's do it.
Like, I could, it is that sort of, you know, I don't think you'll want to pay Alex
tuck till he's 37.
I don't, but that's the situation you're in.
Yeah, there's a lot of things that you never want to do and you're signing things.
You know, the question you can ask yourself as well is, well, is he the guy that's going
to get us over the hump?
Like, is he a piece that we can't get to where we are?
Yeah.
Can you add a tuck at the deadline?
Like, what's the difference between, here's an example for you.
like Alex Tuck and Blake Coleman.
Is it a huge gap?
I would not comparable player.
You'd rather have Tuck,
but Tuck's going to make,
uh,
like more than double.
And obviously Coleman's only got one year left.
Coleman's a better defender.
Tuck's going to score more like,
not sure that's a great comp.
I know what you're saying.
I just mean like if you,
if you didn't resign him,
who could you go get at the deadline?
You're not going to go with nothing if he leaves.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you can replace him at the deadline or you go in free agency and you'd
talk to a Marchman or a Bobby McMatters.
It's a tough time to talk because I just remember those
games against Tampa Bay down the stretch
in the regular season. Like he was an inspirational
player. Like he was in the mix.
Yeah. Scores like scoring big
goals.
But he just went ice cold. Also
are you hurt? Like is there
something else that's attributing to that?
Yeah, but I'm not taking away.
It's just again, I go back to it. It's not
up to the sabers. Yeah. It's the balls
on his court at this point. But he's not up to
the sabers. Yeah. He's been there five.
years. Is it five now?
Yeah. Jeez.
I could do it was a while ago.
Yeah. We're old, hey?
Yeah. Oh, God.
I don't understand
what guys think anymore either.
Like, I can't.
It's easy for us so long.
Okay, money. Yeah. Term.
Yeah. Successive team.
Yeah. Location of
lifestyle. Yeah.
Like, what? Where does it stage out
for him? He's 30 years old.
He's going to sign a big massive deal.
is he thinking about retirement or does he think
well I want to stay close to home well
I think he's got almost everything you can want minus the good weather and the taxes
right like the other thing clearly ascending it's close to home
I don't know that there's a better team to tie your wagon to for the next four to six years
like maybe Montreal but like it's there's a lot of boxes check that I think that
I'm a Buffalo
and my heart goes out to the city.
I don't disagree with you,
but I don't think any of these teams are like
Ucapeka and Lion and who is the other guy?
Comrie?
No, they had one other guy playing net.
I'm going,
do we have a?
Yeah, is there a tandem?
Okay, can we make it?
But I'm babbling.
because it's hard to December 5th, sell everyone.
Yeah.
Now you have a hot run,
and I think they do have a good culture going on.
Prior to December 5th,
Lindy Ruff, what the F are you doing?
Fire him.
Fire his F, right?
Like, it was always going to turn,
and they were so young,
but it happened like on the drop of the...
And I guess what I,
if Toronto commits the playoffs this year,
Buffalo can miss next year.
You get any team I think can miss.
You get injuries to the wrong guys, any team missed.
I don't know that I think Dahlene's awesome.
Powers looked like he was finding something.
The playoffs got his
Amosian Byron.
They have a D.
I love their D.
I don't dislike.
But are they, I think they are moving in the right direction.
But I think that that conference and the division stuff.
That's tough, man.
I don't know that, like, there's, I don't think anyone's a lock.
Like, you see Florida wins two cups and then it's like, oh, yeah, well, we're just
going to take 82 Barkov games away from you, 50 Kachachs, 30 Lundells, 30 Marshan, and
you know, yeah, well, you sucked.
Any team's bottom end is missing in this league.
I think that's how tight the parity is.
And I think most teams, if everything goes right and you get a hot goal, you could probably
sneak into a wildcard.
But I don't know that there's better spots than what we just saw.
between Buffalo and Montreal with their age
because guys are getting better.
Like Zach Benz is not getting worse.
What's wrong with Philly?
Uh, yeah.
Like I still think they,
their positional needs are greater.
I, I don't think Philly was great.
I think Philly was in the right division and snuck in.
I don't know that they're a lot to get in.
I like Buffalo's and Montreal's roster.
I honestly,
I think it's somewhere in the middle.
I don't know that like I agree with you.
Obviously it looks like Buffalo,
because it was to your point, Red,
we were not having this conversation in November,
how great a spot it was going to be in Buffalo.
It was another year of disaster there.
He's been there five years.
You have another 30 goal season.
You're 6, 4, 2, 20.
What are what's out there?
Los Angeles would like somebody to play with Panorama.
I just, it's the ball's in his court.
And I don't know, I don't know that I see Buffalo at this point,
as good as, as good as they've been.
are they going to be a win away from the final four again next year?
Like, are they a lock to win around?
I don't know who you'd pick ahead of them.
Like,
I think much,
when you look at their best players and their ages,
who's getting worse?
Their entire core, I think is getting better.
Like, it'd be tough to find a guy in the back nine there.
And that's way different than when you look at most contending clubs.
Even like Vegas,
you're like,
oh, Mark Stone, like every year, heard again.
Like, there's just,
There's no one you're getting diminishing returns.
Well, I just think like when you look at teams that go on these long sustained runs of playoff success, they start with good young cores.
They get better.
I mean, you're not raw.
They're young.
The Tage is 27.
Taco be 30.
Those are their old guys.
Dahlins, you know, 25.
McLeod is 25.
They're young.
But I just don't, I can't buy into the, well, just because you're young, you're good.
It should work out.
I'm not disagreeing with you.
but it can't be just, wow, there's going.
So it's extra, they're better.
I think what happened this year was crucial.
Like the culture and that group learning how to win was the biggest thing.
But there's just guys that you know are going to,
these are,
that aren't even close to their career years.
Yeah, when you look at Quinn and Benson and power coming to his own,
like I think Dahlene probably wins some Norris's.
My only issue with that.
The goaltenders are starting to look like guys that, you know,
you could trust more than you thought two years ago or a year ago.
I don't really, like if you're trying to point.
I'm done.
Jack?
Yeah.
I don't know what he's done.
He had 20.
He had 20 goals this year.
At what age?
20, 21?
Yeah, okay.
So he's older than stuff.
Yeah.
But like you've got a lot of your core going into the prime or in their prime.
That's what gets me excited about this group.
Well, and I don't want to rain on your parade.
Be excited about the Sabres.
That's awesome.
I just, for the tuck situation, it's out of the Sabres hands, really.
And I think year over year, this league is
continuing to prove last year don't mean shit.
Yep.
Yeah.
No, it's true.
I think we saw the second round,
six of the eight teams that made the second round weren't there last year.
Capital Shave.
Capitalshave.competal Shave.com.
It is Calgary's truck destination.
Keeping the lineup deep, hardworking Silverado,
Sierra's, everyday commuters,
this $99 lease?
I'd be asking about that.
There's big inventory, competitive pricing,
a team that knows how to keep things simple,
whether you need something built for the long summer road trip
or just getting from point A to point B,
the place you walk in curious, you leave confident,
it's trucks,
its deals and no nonsense experience,
just the way Calgary likes it.
Give him a visit.
13-103 Lake Fraser Drive in the southeast.
They're online at CapitalShab.ca, part of the Capital Automotive Group.
So the Habs move on.
Somebody asked me this morning, did they riot?
Were they rioting in Montreal?
I don't know what...
Yeah, they had riot police out there.
What constitutes a riot?
Is it fire?
I think when you're lobbing tear gas into crowds of people, that's defined as a
Well, when I start a good riot, I like to get everybody.
When you've got the police with the shields, the helmets, tear gas.
But what if that's just, what if that's preventative?
What if they're just, we're going to put all the stuff on to really appear menacing to keep a riot from breaking up?
Start a riot.
Egg people on.
Like, is it?
they wanted people to go home.
There's a car flipped on its roof, so it's now, it is now a riot.
Is there a fire, a broken storefront window?
Is that then a riot?
It's not a playoff riot in Montreal until there's a cop car on fire.
I believe that's the historical context.
Yeah.
I don't know if we hit that threshold last night, but they were ready.
Please return home.
Dispersed the area.
Nothing to see here.
How do you guys know this stuff?
It's just on the internet.
How do we know what stuff?
Well, there was riots or I knew there were people out celebrating, but that there was.
Yeah, I don't know.
I opened my phone and someone had sent it to know who to report, der.
Yeah.
Habs versus Carolina.
Habs were three and all in the regular season against Carolina.
Don't care.
Outscoring them 15 to 8, four of the eight hurricane goals came on the power play.
I like that you've done the homework.
I think there might be nothing that matters less than the regular season series between teams when they meet in the postseason.
I don't know.
Maybe it speaks to a matchup issue for the Keynes.
Jack?
So Jack's thinking.
Is that what Jack's thinking?
What am I thinking?
Habs got the kid.
He was just fixing the monitor.
His headphones were out.
Oh, sorry.
Yeah.
This is a, this can't, can't, the haves are set up.
It's a good.
Got them ever they want them.
Habs.
Habs were three and all against the canes in the regular season, Jack.
Hmm.
You know what I heard, actually, the Spurs dominated the thunder in the regular season in the NBA.
What is the second sport is that?
Basketball.
Cricket?
What are you talking about?
T20?
I think it's important.
Maybe it's a matchup thing.
I agree with Retro.
You know what?
I'm curious about the old rest versus rust.
You know what I mean?
You got one team.
They've been playing so much hockey.
they just played yesterday. This other team they've been off for over a week.
We've got to get her picks, by the way.
Yeah, I know.
Because it was last round.
Remember, we kind of kicked ourselves, game one against the Sabres.
Montreal had just played seven against Tampa Bay and all this.
We really should have known that the abs were going to be groggy in game one.
Now, do we feel the same way for a game one against the Canes?
I do.
I wish that the Canes hadn't been off.
10 days.
Colorado looked pretty bleeping good
when they had a week off for Minnesota.
Like they,
I think you're happy to just
rest up and not get hurt.
They've been off.
Thursday?
Thursday?
Yes.
At Carolina on Thursday.
It's a lot of time to get rested up.
More than you'd want, but I think.
I don't know. I just trust that the way they've played
old broad, the bodd is going to.
Yeah.
There will be no questions.
as to if they're prepared or not.
Oh,
Rod the bud.
So yes, Dean, if I was you,
and I'm guessing the old Bet365
has it numbered correctly.
I got the series odds
if Jack wants to fire those in,
I guess number seven.
Game one.
We can get to.
Yeah, we can get to.
Game one side too.
Yeah, it's going to be interesting
of the, you know, the pundits,
who is going to pick the underdogs
because the underdogs are
considerable considerable I was looking this morning the regular season
Habs had 106 points the canes 113
it's not much a difference point of month yeah it's not a ton
Vegas the gap there is more considerable yeah it is and
Vegas has played teams I don't think were good um like 92 point teams two of them
Utah and then Anaheim and it's you know you're excited about the direction
I'm going in and Utah's first time in the playoffs.
But like think about the Flames team of two years ago.
They had 96 points and missed.
They played back-to-back series against 92-point teams.
I know that everyone's excited that Mitch Marner's changed the narrative and he's a big game player now and that Vegas is back.
But maybe they just played two really fucking average teams that were in the middle third of the league.
Now they get Colorado.
I can't believe you're talking about our ducks that way.
I love the ducks and what they've done and where they're going.
Shees.
They did so much for us and now you're...
How are you going to talk about them like that?
God.
Love the ducks.
Thanks for what you did, ducks.
Love the ducks.
Ducks are so good.
Love the ducks.
I don't know.
Someone had to come out of the Pacific.
We talked about it for the last two months.
It was going to be softer than Poppy Pooh to be out of the Final Four in the Pacific.
Vegas has the ability to play Big Boy hockey.
I just...
It's just tough to buy it.
in because it's like, well, who've they played?
It's just when I think of Colorado, I just think of them coming at you in waves.
Just speed, boom, boom.
And I don't know how Vegas handles that.
I think Vegas has good structure.
I don't think they can keep up.
I don't either.
You know what I mean?
Like Colorado, I just think speed, speed and depth.
Yes, I just.
And Colorado and Vegas, I think of big bodies and not allowing too much.
But like if you can't skate with Colorado, good night.
And I'm sorry.
like Minnesota I would have taken over anyone in the Pacific the team they beat Dallas I would have taken over anyone in the Pacific and you know the only Pacific team that we saw the other way was the Kings and they got absolutely stomp like Colorado swept.
So favored for a reason is probably what we're saying.
Not much to talk about then.
No, Vegas wins game one.
We got lots to talk about because you know, we're usually wrong about half the time, I figure.
figured that would be a good indication of okay we might have a series

How was everyone's, uh, how was everyone's weekend?
It was a long one.
Whew, such a long weekend.
Weather wasn't good, but the,
Time off is good, right?
Yeah.
I got a lot done.
Did you?
Such as.
Well, I have everything.
So much.
Where do I start?
Yeah.
Jack was really deaky on the weekend.
He was?
Yeah, he was trying to get you to karaoke.
He's trying to get you out.
I invited you.
I sent an address.
I told you which.
I noticed she didn't stop by with the limel bus.
Yeah, what was the, what was happening there?
What was the occasion that?
It was one of my idiot buddies's birthdays.
And I don't know why we got a limo,
but it was just all dudes.
It's awesome.
Sounds great.
That tracks.
So it's a huge limo bus with a stripper pole and it's all dudes.
That's awesome.
Great work.
You went karaoke.
Karaoke.
Did you sing?
No, I didn't.
Did any of the idiots?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Look like they're having fun.
It did look like they were having fun.
Yeah, they don't have fun, those idiots.
I had so many kids at my house this weekend.
It felt like the house was full of idiots, just constant.
Jesus.
Got their idiots spawning here?
Calm this down?
Get the out.
Please.
Did you cook for them?
Were you whipping up some grub?
It was a very pizza wingy.
Yeah.
It wasn't home-cooked meals.
I did cook the big tomahawk
I saw the open pit.
And delicious.
Jake Jillenhall came over and
crushed some steak with me.
Is that right?
Is that right?
Is he filming something in town?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nice.
Big wig.
Yeah.
I'm pretty popular.
Yeah.
What about you, Pinder?
You weren't here up on.
Yeah, went out to the Columbia Valley.
It was not very wet.
It was rained on the mountains.
And the valley was,
drive. It was good. A little spitting here and there.
Cool. Lots of ball in the
green space. I'm a fun guy.
Ran around. Yeah. You're a
funny. Rote some milk.
You know, do.
Do the thing. It's good.
Nothing too crazy.
It was very long weekendy.
May long weekend. Now we can start summer.
Yeah. People that are new here. When Cabby comes
in, he's like, what the half guys?
Maylaw has snowed twice.
Twice. You can now change your tires.
It's not summer until you're through Maylon.
now you can expect good weather.
Not before now.
Yep, got the
final set of tires changed. So we're full
fully ready for the
summer in terms of the tires. Got some
leaves and some weeds and just little, you know,
some yard maintenance stuff done.
Some pressure washing.
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
That must be a hot topic for everyone
because I have reached out and
I'm in the contemplative stage of getting rid of everything and going fake.
Yeah.
Just pave it.
Turf.
That's my buddy beef.
He's always been a proponent of that.
Just, you know, green space and stuff.
Ah, just get rid of that.
Just pave it.
Just pave everything.
Play basketball.
Going to do the whole front yard, put up a basketball court.
Yeah.
Backyards going to be all turf, fake grass.
Does the neighbors like playing sports?
Do the neighbors like playing sports?
Are they athletic?
Because you just have like a walk party.
Just a big.
This is a little out of,
it's a little out of sequence,
but I thought I'd go right to it.
There's Patches.
This came in from last week.
Look at his avatar.
It's the book club, Jack.
It's Jack from the book club.
The deal was made last week.
That patches was like, you know, $10.
If you just read a chapter of a book, just read a chapter.
All you have to do is read a chapter or we'll do the $10 or Jack was going to have to pay the $10.
So, um, before you answer, Ryan, accomplished or not?
Oh, no chance.
I agree.
I don't think there's zero on it.
Any, any chance.
I read a book in the last three days, Jack.
It's done.
You read an entire book.
That's correct.
Even I, I read like three chapters of the book this weekend on Sunday and I finished it last night.
at midnight.
That's a good book.
Yeah, it was interesting.
Yeah, I know.
I didn't read anything.
I got to find my wallet, I guess.
Ten bucks.
You don't sound sad at all about it.
He's not to, yeah.
No, I had fun.
I'll pay up.
It's good, Jack's getting to the stage in life where he don't give a shit just like the right.
Yeah.
I'm a dud and that's what I am and that's how I'm always going to be.
So this was judging me.
Get my wallet.
it's an idiot tax.
And I'm willing to pay it.
So with that said, are you abandoning the book thing now?
Because it's summer does not feel like book reading time for you.
It could be if he.
It's not, Ryan.
It's not.
I just, I really have high hopes for him, but he just, he's illiterate, which makes it really hard to read.
And he's slow.
And it makes it very daunting.
And he doesn't care.
But it's like if you could get him down to Montana on a dock, I feel.
feel like a book in the sun.
That could kill half an hour a day.
No.
No, too much.
His who is not,
his mind does not know how to scrolling.
He's just stroller.
Dopamine, dopamine, dopamine, dopamine, dopamine.
The only,
the only way he would is if,
uh, whatever,
this COVID 2.0 takes over the planet and locks everybody down.
That's the only way Jack would maybe think about reading a book for any amount of time.
Yeah.
Even then it's not worth the trade.
off.
I know.
Even then,
got the Xbox
over there.
I'm going to
simulate the
Steelers season again.
Boy,
Aaron Rogers is back.
Yeah, he is.
The old man.
Yeah.
The old goat.
How many wins this year,
Jack?
Seven to ten.
Yep.
So you won't
pick high enough to get a
quarterback and you
definitely won't win a lot of
in.
Welcome to the middle,
friend. I wonder how many people in the Steelers are like, oh, God.
There he is again. We'll win more games than with,
without him, but I, geez, he's going to be back for another whole.
I wonder what kind of quirky, weird stuff he needs for his locker or in the,
the training area. So high maintenance that guy. Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know. I still, all to go nine and eight, Jack.
Was that photo of a.
his wife real? Was that fake?
I don't believe anything with him online.
Because that chick looked.
What? She was out there for sure.
She looked like she was spinning
fire sticks at a music festival.
I'm okay with that.
She looked blank.
What are you saying?
He's got a type, I guess.
She looked like she might have been stationed
in Nimbun for a while.
Not afraid.
The Olympics?
That's right.
She's on the real deal.
All right, friends, let's get into our first Pinder report of the week.

We start with the bracket.
There we are.
Final four, friends.
Cool.
Two to three division leaders and a three seed.
Vegas kind of just by the skin of their teeth won the division.
Carolina and Avalanche ran away with their divisions.
And the abs,
excuse me, the Habs were in it till the end,
narrowly ousted by Buffalo and Tampa to finish third in the Atlantic.
division. Overtime,
Rhett, last night, and overtime
last winter as well. It's been a tough finish
for the last two Buffalo seasons.
Overtime.
Close.
Like Jack has this graphic labeled
Buffalo Sunk. Sunk.
Or just Buffalo Sank. Bufelsonk.
Buffsank.
Really? You know what Song is? No, I don't.
Sock. That's what it is.
Okay. Yeah. It's a tough one.
I'm going to use that.
Montreal, we love the job they've done.
If you could pick any team to model after,
the Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton job that has been done here,
amassing young players, high-end talent, et cetera, et cetera.
Oh, here they are, the youngest team since 1993 to get to the conference final.
Average age of 25.8, same as the 93 team.
That was a hell of a team.
Well, they was.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And a lot of overtimes that year?
I believe they won't.
Stop a bull.
Remember who they beat in the final, Jack?
No, I don't.
It's a great one.
Well, he was dead.
Pardon me?
Were you dead in 93?
Were you dead?
I was thinking about this on the weekend round.
I think I was dead when you played it in your first Stanley Cup.
Oh, 96 spring.
Yeah, I was dead.
Gosh.
Yeah, sorry, Jack.
I thought you're saying the great one was dead.
I was like, fellas, we need the breaking news.
Yeah, that'd be big.
Jeez.
We'll keep moving.
Colorado Vegas goes tonight, friends.
Oh, scary, tomorrow.
Yeah, not tonight.
Pindry has just.
Guys, let's get it going tonight.
Not yet.
Not yet.
Are we buying the big game Mitch narrative, fellas?
Yes or no?
No.
I don't know if I buy.
big game Mitch, but I don't think.
Is he the same Mitch or a different Mitch?
I think he's different.
Okay.
He's different, but and his team is different.
His team is 100%.
I'm not saying he's drastically.
It's just, yeah, there's less pressure for sure.
He's, I think he's taking things less personally than he was in Toronto.
But the team's nice to be able to have a life and not, you know.
And to rehash your point that the two series have been against, uh, mid opponents.
So we'll see how Mitch does here.
There is your odds for tomorrow night.
Okay.
Overunder said it's six.
Remember, game one had 15 goals last series.
The Avalanche played.
Heavy favorites minus 200 of the Aves.
We'll revisit some of this in our bet three, six, five later.
Could you go back to that first graphic, Jack, the one with Nate, that one there?
I feel like you need to, hey, Nate, are you buying the big game Mitch Marner narrative?
Fad chance.
By the way, Dino, you did well in our first round predictions.
You see the other series will start on Thursday.
The cane's been off for ages, like ages.
It's got to be around a week and a half.
Dino picked Carolina in six,
Montreal and seven.
First round or second round, you said.
Second round.
You said first round.
Okay.
Sorry.
Second round predictions.
Dino goes three for four.
Also in Montreal in seven.
So we give him a bonus mark for that.
Give him four points with the second round.
Jack had Vegas,
Montreal and Carolina in four.
Four's pretty good.
Yeah, the Colorado one really good.
And then you switch Colorado because you saw Nate
with the flippers and a mask on.
Still pretty good.
You had Colorado in five too,
which would have been really good.
You got the extra point.
You got the extra point, yeah.
Retro had Carolina and five
and three teams that did not win.
second round. And I had Carolina in four bonus mark for
games in Colorado and seven. You and I had Buffalo in seven
route. We were very close, which counts for nothing. Damn it.
Come on, Lindy.
Series odds. No surprise that the
teams that have been steamrolling competition, the 8 and 0
and the 8 and 1 teams, heavy favorites.
Minus 260 are the avalanche and the hurricanes.
Earned it, I suppose.
Earned it. If you have to pick it up,
upset fellas. Is there one team you think can do it more than the other?
Montreal.
Montreal, I agree. Maybe partly to do with competition,
partly because it looks like they've collected rabbits feet, four-leaf clovers and have a horseshoe up their hope.
Golly. Golly, too.
Well, and the other one, like whatever the point separation was in what I say earlier.
Montreal had 106 to Carolina's 113.
Vegas had 95.
Colorado 121.
Yeah, a little bit different there.
Yeah.
So only 26 points difference there.
This is interesting.
Now, don't get too excited thinking this is a major trend and a pattern and the thing to do
because we've seen Vasilevsky and Bobrovsky and, you know, other big money goalies win the cup lately.
But there's a bunch of platoons that have got you to the final four in net.
Doebusch has been the man at times this year for Montreal.
It's also been fowler at times.
Montaubo was the guy to start the year, I believe.
Freddie Anderson heard a lot of the time.
They also have Brandon Bussie with some big minutes this year.
Piotr Kachetkov also in the system.
Carter Hart wasn't even really in the mix until midway through the year for Vegas.
So they had Aden Hill and some other goons like Akira Shmead.
And it's been the Wedgwood Blackwood combo for Colorado,
but four platoons and or trifectas.
that have arrived here at the conference finals.
Hmm.
Hmm.
Hmm.
Hmm.
Hmm.
Hmm.
And the Oilers have a tandem as well that, uh, for next year that already cost more than all of these
goalies combined.
It's the Jack Campbell buyout and Jack, your boy, Tristan Jari.
Jarry, Jarger.
Awesome.
Let's go to, uh, the Flames website.
What's going on?
Uh, some reports on the weekend that, yeah, the flames are open for business as long it's not a young star.
I think really.
earth shattering about the report.
They're open for business.
And yeah, they probably don't want to trade you
Perek or Coronado or any of the young guys,
gridden, right?
That makes sense.
That seems to make sense.
Why would that?
Apparently it was news elsewhere.
The only guy maybe would pause on a bit would be like,
where are you at on Kevin Ball?
Because he ain't young.
He's not going to be a star, but that might be one of the only guys
to be like, well,
why do you hate Kevin Ball?
Yeah.
I'm literally building a case to keep him, not too.
him.
So it means I like Kevin Ball.
But you brought his name out of thin air.
Yes.
The only young guy I think they probably would not be open to moving easily would be Kevin
Ball.
Why do they love Kevin Ball?
Because they have no one else on the left side they trust, I believe.
I'm still confused by him.
So you would or wouldn't trade him?
I don't think they'd like to move him.
I mean, they're open for business.
Anyone that's not a young star and Kevin Ball is what I'm trying to suggest and gather.
Just say it and play in English, please.
Yeah, bad moneyed that a little bit.
Sorry, fellas.
Let's keep going on Flames Nation.com.
Are you a fun guy today as well?
Are you still a fun guy?
No, if I was, it'd be better.
I'll tell you that.
D3 and 4 of the World Championships, only Mata, two assists.
Holy Mada, still hot.
God, point.
So hot right now.
All you got to do is get scratched for half a year,
and apparently you turn into a top 4D.
What happened to the Americans?
Didn't they win the Olympics?
They lost a two that's not really good.
It's early.
A lot of games.
Round Robin.
Don't worry.
Let it go, Matt.
Another mock draft over at the Athletic.
This time, Scott Wheeler,
Corey Promen, alternating picks.
So again, not their projected rankings,
but a mock where they know the teams and where they're going to pick.
They got Verhof going to the flames at six.
No surprise who went ahead of them.
It was going to be Carls to New York at five.
Stenberg, four to Chicago.
Mahaltra, three to Vancouver.
And yes, Chase Reed, two to San Jose.
after McKenna won to Toronto.
Now 28, which is where it looks like the Flames would pick at this juncture.
Liam Ruck!
We get our first Ruck to the Flames mock draft.
They also use their final second round pick to select the other Ruck in this mock draft.
That last little.
Footspeed is the issue.
And not an issue that necessarily means he's not going to be a player,
but if there's an area of their game
that you wonder about, it's just the feat.
He's not a burner, Dean.
Not a burn or like you did.
He's not exactly a burner, but boys.
Yeah.
I just, yeah, I didn't, my hands were,
boy, I just had to rely on my speed.
That was you.
Yeah.
Yeah, got it.
I didn't have, I didn't have that NHL caliber shot.
Right.
I just had to Lombardi myself all over the rink.
Yeah, yeah, fair enough.
Interestingly, the Vegas Golden Knights
news broke Friday afternoon
they were going to be
fined. They will have to forfeit a second round
pick in this year's draft.
Flames hold the first pick of the third round.
Vegas loses their second round or they're appealing
right now. We'll see if they get it back or not
for a lack of media availability
after their game six win over Anaheim.
Boy, that's a harsh.
Yeah, just Red and I chatted about it. It's like,
well, I think it's going to be something,
probably something there. And I think,
Brett, you were a little surprised. And I was like,
I just think they have to do something.
It leads you to believe, and I think it did come out.
It's not the first time they've had to talk to Vegas about certain things.
And so this was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back.
They've been warned a bunch and they've been asked by the league in meetings continually.
Like, here's how we're going to grow the game.
Here's the access we need to provide.
It's beyond just press conferences and opening your room after wins and losses.
Coaches are asked to wear microphones.
A lot of this content is used by, you know, 13.
parties that are spending huge amounts of money as rights holders, whether it's ESPN trying
to promote upcoming stuff, whatever it is. These are billion dollar contracts. And the league is
like, don't mess with what has been an incredible postseason for U.S. viewership, even with the
Canadian team in the second round, getting huge numbers. It's new TV deals, blah, blah, blah,
blah, blah, and finally it was like, okay, well, we've warned you enough, we're going to lay the
smack down and you're going to start listening to us because it's Gary's League.
And there was some chatter that maybe it was because of the McNabb suspension.
They didn't like that.
Well, they were a surly for sure.
That was what Elliott reported.
They were in miserable moods after the McNabb of suspension.
But when you don't like a league suspension,
that doesn't mean you get to not follow the rules, right?
I'm aware.
No, and I'm not suggesting you think that.
But yeah, you can be upset.
But that doesn't mean you're now because you're mad, you get to be an idiot.
I have to tell my 10-year-old of this.
Just because you're mad doesn't mean you get to do things you know you're not allowed to do.
I wondered him, I wanted to, because you go right to the, is, is, is, is his, does he have to, is that his, does he have to, is that his money?
I don't know how it works with fines, but I mean, he's been fine a hundred grand. And remember, can the, can the owner just kind of slide him in an envelope?
What do you think he, he's making? He had eight games. Like is it a million bucks? So it's like, there's a hundred grand. And then the second, I, I just wonder about Bill Foley, what he's thinking about.
The money is one thing. It's like, well, that's, that's,
in the grand scheme of things for Bill Foley or even
$1,000, $100,000, $100,000, don't get me wrong,
but that won't be there.
Yeah.
That's not going to be a nail in their coffin.
The second round pick is big.
That gets people's attention.
That's like, wait a minute.
It's almost like Gary said,
I don't want this ever to happen again,
so I'm going to spank them in front of the whole league,
and no one will dare.
I do believe that they will appeal and it will change.
The appeal is going on today.
It seems extremely quick and harsh.
It's like,
So it's just second rounder you've, like, arbitrary?
If the appeal results in them getting that second rounder back, is there's still the deterrent?
I was going to say, has the message been sent or is it just?
The message really, I think it'll be, I think they'll move it back to.
They didn't change anything per Elliott.
As it stands, probably remain the same.
Well, does that mean that they've ruled on the appeal?
Because the appeals happened.
I know Frank's reporting an hour ago
was that the appeal's been heard
but there hasn't been any announcement yet.
So are we,
everything's upheld, Jack, or we're still waiting to hear?
I think it's up.
Yeah.
Let me double check.
We'll keep an eye on it here.
Either way, the interesting note for the flames,
if Vegas does lose that second round,
they'll actually technically have five second rounders
because they have the first pick of the third round.
I believe Vancouver and the Lintholm.
deal the third rounder way back.
Or maybe this is a Dorov one.
They give up a third and a fifth where it's a door of?
Huh.
Five second rounders, red, get excited.
The fact that it changes is the same.
It's the,
move up one spot.
That's all of this.
Memorial Cup.
We got some teams heading to Colonna.
In fact, some probably there already retro.
I would think.
Beautiful time of year.
Tournament starts on Friday.
Jack's all excited.
We got Kit Kat in there.
Got Chicago.
Everett.
on a yeah, Kitchener, it's good to me.
Any thoughts or takeaways?
I guess it's a pretty big stage for Land and DuPont.
Yeah, I ever kicked the snout of PA, and I thought PA was pretty damn good.
Carson Carl's committed to Nodak on the weekend.
I don't know if you saw that.
Said it last week.
I mean, tough to build the case that CHL isn't getting younger,
and CAA isn't getting quite a bit better when they continue to pluck,
guys that are going on the top 10 every year out of the CHL.
Two years in a row, at least.
Keep going. Stan Peters played exhibition football yesterday.
Dino?
Victorius.
Dino?
That, Ders.
Huh.
2015.
Cooking it up, hey?
Starring the pot there, yes, right?
No, I didn't go.
Hung over, eh? Couldn't leave the host.
Very hungover yesterday.
I'm guessing.
Wipeed.
You know that he'd been kidnapped.
again.
The NFL, this is actually CFLE
that the NFL did this.
Really? Because Jackson Smith and Jigba won the
offensive player of the year, wide receiver Seattle.
Phenomenal year.
All kinds of yardage, touchdowns, great season.
They sent him his trophy because you won
offensive player of the air. Amazing stuff.
No, I really want to expose them.
It's getting disrespectful, guys.
Defensive player.
Come on, bro.
Come on, bro.
One word.
Who is it?
Are they getting these, like the T-Moo shop?
Like, is this, who's inscraving?
Jack, were you engraving it?
No, it wasn't me.
You got to keep that, too.
Like, I bet you think I just played offense, son.
No?
Look at this.
I can do it all.
Both ways.
Calvary FC in action on the weekend.
They beat Vancouver FC2-0.
Dominance, fellas.
Dominance.
They have been off to a great start this season.
They're through against the white caps in the Canadian championship.
Meanwhile, in league play, they sit second in the table.
They've not lost all year.
They have four wins and two draws, sitting one point behind Forge.
Top of the table, Tommy, getting close there.
Let's go.
And next action is coming up.
It is Rett's favorite game of the year, the Star Wars match.
I love it.
Who's that on the right?
I haven't.
That's the Mandalorian.
and Groku.
And Groku.
Oh, yeah.
My kids all wound up
about this movie.
Apparently.
Is Groga related to
your baby Yoda?
I don't know if it is.
Are the pals or.
They're the same species.
Yoda's uncle.
How do we?
Head to Atko Field Sunday at 3 p.m.
to find out more about Grogu.
Jack will be there.
Thanks in the kids.
Yeah, let's go.
You want to go?
I don't know.
I don't know.
You don't know if you're busy?
Yeah, I don't know if I'm leaving town.
Right.
It would be a lot.
Well, you could go to Buffalo now, I guess, but I've been putting that off for a few
serious.
Finally, right, you have gone bungee jumping.
I would be scared assless to go bungee jumping.
But this is next level.
This is in New Zealand where they will let you free fall without a rope.
Yo, I don't like how I can't see my way down.
and go back.
Yeah, this is actually you.
Just the same before with the wind.
Wind, yeah, perfect.
Yeah, definitely wait.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, good.
Just relax your leaks.
It's a deep breath.
It's a good day.
Oh, God.
Good day.
Yeah.
You did, yeah.
Oh, my God, you're probably.
Oh, four seconds.
No, rope.
Oh, yeah.
disgust in a bit. We're just going to wait a little bit.
What might be doing?
I think bunch of it would be incredibly scary.
I think this is like tenfold scary.
It's worse.
Oh!
I hopped off the tailgate of my truck in the weekend.
I thought it's a long ways.
She's.
You okay?
What is the...
Adrenaline junkies retro?
Read a book, buddy.
Seriously, Jack?
God.
So, are you going to end up, Jack?
If you don't start reading.
Learn how to calm your mind.
How many of your idiot buddies would do this, Jack?
Oh, lots, yeah.
So do you feel differently about this than a bungee jump retro?
I didn't like either.
I got bullied into bungee jumping.
So why?
Because here there's a net where with bungee jumping, it's whatever, water or whatever, potentially.
I, for some reason, I feel like I like something attached to me.
Yeah, that whole elasticy rope felt important in the bungee jump.
I would like both.
I want to do that below,
just in case, and the rope above
a couple safety features.
When did you bungee jump?
South Africa.
Uh-huh.
During the lockout.
Off a bridge.
How did you possibly get wrangled into doing that?
Shoveler.
Chubber.
Skydive?
No chance.
Would it be scary
than a bunch of you know?
I feel like skydives
almost like it's a cartoon.
You're like,
way I saw up higher.
Like,
yeah,
I just can jump out.
I feel like I would do all of them,
but I don't feel the need to go do any of them.
Not anymore.
You know what I mean?
It's like,
well,
okay.
Yeah,
I don't think I would get the desired rush
and feeling of accomplishment afterwards.
So how was it?
Like,
was it amazing?
No,
it was terribly,
it was terrifying.
I shit my pants.
Would you do it again?
No.
I didn't want to do it in the first place.
Yes.
That's.
And I,
and I,
and I,
and I,
do it again?
No.
Thank you.
Maybe you've had an accident,
Dean,

Villachonda.com slash detailing.
If you've just been bungee jumping and made a mess in your car.
Or maybe it's just spring and it's a nice time to clean your car.
Thank you, Villalconda.
It is a nice time.
Witters are hard in your vehicle.
Are the gravel in there?
Oh, yeah.
It's cold.
You're not spending a whole lot of time to clean.
I'll get it.
Now's the time.
Treat yourself.
Get yourself something nice.
Did you see who was banging the drum yesterday before the Sabres?
Oh, man.
I thought he was tearing his shirt off.
I didn't see.
Oh, my God, he's going to do it.
Because they showed the highlights, and he is tarps off and half of them.
Rob Ray, our good friend was they got the drum.
They do the, let's go buffalo.
He almost messed it up.
Palmanville did it two games ago.
Not me, because I know who Rob Ray is.
And he's a frightening man.
But some people.
I mean, God bless them.
But some people may question his rhythm and timing of the banging of the drum.
That's your own peril, friends.
Yeah.
Again, I would never do it.
I would just caution those who might wonder about the speed and rate and rhythm of the banging of the drum.
Just watch your mouth.
He was wearing, was it JFC?
Yes.
Just Fing.
Or JFG just.
the t-shirt.
What does that stand for?
Just fucking go.
Because they got a bunch of these cliches.
It was like everyone robs,
everyone rides.
I don't like that.
That's cheesy.
That's been around.
Everybody robs.
Everybody robs.
Everybody robs.
Everybody robs.
Probably's got some fatigue in Western Canada.
It might be novel in Buffalo.
I don't know.
It was Jack and his buddies.
Getting into the limo bus.
Everybody robs.
Everybody robs.
Everybody robs.
Okay.
Yeah.
So he's wearing the shirt.
Let's watch.
And the crowd gets excited.
And then he peels the shirt off to reveal that he's wearing another shirt.
Another shirt.
Yeah.
I thought that he was going to.
What a beauty.
It's a little shrinking.
Come on.
Don't do it.
For all the people out there that might want to criticize.
I got nothing to say.
Be careful.
Nope.
It's a freebie.
Do you think he was just wearing two by accident?
see how we went that yes i did that because when they tell you they're like just do three times let's go buffalo
yeah so it's like well buffalo and then you got to there for the fans to act but i they didn't mention
that part it looked like a real idiot and i'm not you're not an idiot no you won't forget that someone's
going to pay the price for that sold me out who did you jump in too quick did you start doing the
i think look at right now i get i did it right now i get i did it right
I didn't let the fans.
How was your rhythm?
Better than that.
I'm excited we get noodles tomorrow.
We could ask him if there's any pointers
he'd like to pass along.
Bad news there, Ryan.
Oh, no.
Is he in Italy?
Thursday.
Thursday.
Jamie will join us on Thursday.
Okay.
Short week, so that's fine.
Yeah.
I don't know if he's just pushing the days
around or what he's doing. But yeah, Nudles, join us on Thursday.
Getting ready for that
Carolina-Montreal series.
Yep.
Well, hopefully the old
HABs can make it interesting because
Philly didn't.
I don't know who the first team they played is.
Ottawa.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, they were close, but it wasn't close, if you know what I mean.
What's that, Mr. Brindamore?
Exactly.
We were close.
It was close series.
It wasn't a sweep.
A lot of sweep, Rod, it was a sweep.
It was not a sweep.
You got swept.
Listen, I know what the series.
This is not a sweep.
Right.
Now, they're doing it to other teams.
Now, I messed it up at the start of the show.
Like, I was like, oh, well, it's a Monday.
It's already.
So don't sleep on the fact that today is Taco Tuesday.
Even though it's a short week, you know, whatever, and you push it.
That's maybe what you need today.
You get through a long week.
You're like, oh, okay, we're kind of like getting into the, let them take care of dinner.
Last week, I did it again.
I saw you were sending videos.
Everyone was very happy.
Taco Time bank, walk in the door, a bunch of tacos.
Thank you, so, oh, wow, taco.
That's how you do it.
Taco Time, Taco, Canada.com, find the location nearest you.
Taco, too.
That's where it all started.
Unlimited, as many as you could eat, $2 beef or veggie tacos or the rice.
See, I mentioned the rice.
Yeah.
And you guys were kind of getting.
up the rice.
Don't sleep on it.
Don't sleep on it.
Tex-Mex, not to be confused with Mexican.
Hand-rolling, the burritos.
They're doing the two and a half million tacos every single year.
One million Mexie fries sold annually.
That was a bit of an eye-opener last week when I brought them home.
Oh, so what is tater tots?
I might, watch your mouth.
Let's watch your mouth.
You'd settle down over there.
these are mexie fries and have some of the,
have some of the sauce.
Oh, this is homemade sauce.
Yeah, yeah.
Taco shells, taco chips, salad bowls.
And you know what?
It's the build your own taco box.
Build your taco box.
You can come home with them already made or you can show up and let the people do
the servings themselves.
The box, it comes with the tortillas.
It comes with the beans and the meat and all there.
It's like kind of an al-a-cart deal.
You know, I kind of make it on your own.
Taco Time.
Taco Time Canada.com.
enjoy it today.
The original red hot sauce, the enchilada, which is the mild and then the Diablo.
Diablo.
I don't know that I've done the Diablo.
I find the original to be just, just enough.
Just enough.
I like the heat, though.
I think I'm a Diablo guy.
I think you think you like the heat.
Well, I always want to try it.
I don't know that I'm happy that I have, but I will always turn to it.
Yeah, I think when the topic comes up, I think you think you, oh, yeah, I love the hot.
And then you're sweating out of your forehead and you're crying.
Your nose has got dots of perspiration.
You're like, I love hot sauce.
I don't love what you do.
You're locked in your room for two days.
How's it going?
Are you still liking the hot sauce?
It's still good.
Thank you, taco time.
Delicious.
You did damage to yourself.
That was not on the hot sauce.
That was, what do they call it?
Montezuma's revenge.
It was a nice blend.
Street taco.
It was like, Taco Time, very good.
Conflience of a...
Alley food in Porta Verda.
Yeah, some street food, some hot sauce or some local tap water, all came together.
The perfect storm in your bowl.
More booze to fight off that bug.
Yeah, maybe.
You tried.
Pour some tequila on it.
Wait a minute.
Flammable.
Oh, that's not good.
Let's do our bets.
for Bet 365.

All right, Dana.
We'll get a hockey game tomorrow.
We got a little futures bet in the bigs as Jack's boy, Paul Skeens, coming off a rough outing.
He doesn't do rough outings very often.
So we take advantage with a nice number at plus 240 to win the Cy Young and the National League.
It's currently the favorite to do it.
Guy that's second is plus 250.
We love Skeens' chances of winning because, well, he is the best pitcher in the National League.
As for the game tomorrow night, puck line for Colorado.
They've been blowing out teams pretty regularly.
Adam McKinnon point and the nature's point,
something they've done each in four straight,
and you get to plus 80.
And we've got Blue Jays Yankees tonight. If you need something tonight,
Dean, if you can't wait until the end of the major league season
or tomorrow night's hockey,
last night it was Yariol Rodriguez,
setting himself on fire becoming a human torch,
allowing four runs in the sixth inning.
Did you watch that?
I started spreading the news. I didn't watch the whole night's,
yeah. Jays were looking great,
and then this ass hat came in,
and you're like, no, Adam Maco,
by the way, Vox Hall Academy in Alberta,
Major League debut,
got three outs for the Blue Jays.
He was part of the Teoska Hernandez deal with Seattle a few years ago,
but an Alberta boy,
born in Slovakia,
young in Ireland, moved to Alberta in his middle school years.
What a life.
Holy slo!
Adam McO! Welcome to the big, son.
You got the first three outs of Yankee Stadium.
Impressive. Pretty nice.
Should have left them in for another out, right?
Schneider, son of it.
What?

We got a little bit of this.
We got a little bit of super chat action for you.
This money, we'll go to the youth centers of Calgary.
We'll get your comment on the show.
I know that we had some already in the show.
This is from Francis.
Francis QC.
That's Quebec.
$2.
Ret, would you say Gohabs go?
Yeah, I can say Gohabs go.
We.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Allee.
Le Habs-L-A
Parley-Vu
Francis, QC
is at Quebec.
Two-dows.
Rhett, would you say
Ole-O-L-A-O-L-A?
I grew up in a Habs household.
He's fluent in Habs.
I am all happy.
I'm a habitant.
Can you give us an O'A-L-A-L-A?
Oh, no.
See, people coming at you.
They're trying to get under your skin,
but you're not going to have any of them.
They're my second favorite team, so
I bought a freaking chair from the old four.
Really?
What about the Pantaros?
What about the Pantaros?
Well, you said that they're your second favorite team.
In this playoffs.
Oh, I see.
Where's the...
This didn't make it team.
Where's the forum chair?
The D or G's.
What a leach.
Well, he was the...
He's the Ams fan.
I get it.
Nice gift.
He was to stand up for...
Sing all Canada.
At home.
Stand up at home.
In the living room.
Sing along.
I say, Lou.
Buck drop.
Gila Fleur.
Lou, Larry Robinson.
Look out.
Edward.
Chris Chelyos, God, he was like early 80s
he played in ever.
Yeah.
Played in Montreal forever.
Played in Chicago forever.
Then played in Detroit forever.
Forever.
Yeah.
Scissors three, Jack.
Was there not three?
That's two.
Two from France.
We did the other one already.
Oh, did we?
Which one was that?
That was the, um, yeah.
Oh, the $10.
You didn't read the chapter.
Did you get your wallet?
I'm still looking.
Have it?
No, no, no.
Isn't the point to donate the 10 to the kids?
Yeah, Jack's going to have to super chat the show tomorrow.
Or Patches is just going to do.
I hope he's got something nice to say what he does.
Come on, Jack.
Not a reader.
We've tried, folks.
We really have.
Oh, no, you know what?
Jack's a thoughtful, uh, young,
man, he's doing it for the kids.
He's like, I could read, but I'm doing.
We should get them started on those penthouse letters,
see if that peeks into it.
Because they're not long.
They really captivate your, grab your attention.
I can never get through them.
I don't know if I've ever read, then.
Really? Because you said they were riveting.
That's so weird.
Well, there we go.
Oh, what?
Oh, 20 bucks.
Bullock raising, 20 bucks is in.
Four!
Great weekend was had
till my barn boss sent me a clip from overdrive
of noodles saying the oilers need to hire Big D.
We can't have those dickheads here in that.
Kidnap noodles.
McLeod Law get involved?
We could try.
I did see that.
He was talking about,
because they were discussing it,
what do you need.
Oh, you need someone to come in.
It's going to be a bit of a hard ass.
It's short-term, high pressure,
just compress everything,
get something done in a hurry.
He said, there's a guy just down the road.
He's been known to have success.
in short spurts.
It's the type of coach they're looking up.
No question.
That would be tough.
Darrell knows better.
Does he?
Oh, yeah.
You better.
10 million bucks a year.
I was going to say, is there?
Yeah.
And this is this year, I believe,
is the last year of his extension that he signed.
Is that right?
Oh, my, really?
Had he closed.
Because the same as the knobber.
Like, he was gunned before his extension kicked.
Oh, I am.
Yeah, I know that, but how many years?
So this is a third year of Huska.
So if it was a three year extension,
it might have been two.
Either way.
Either way.
Yeah.
If for some crazy reason,
the flames held his rights until July 1,
well,
the flames are not granted the oil.
His permission to talk to there else.
I wonder how that's,
yeah,
wonder how that whole thing is going over.
If the,
uh,
losing of a second rounder and a $100,000 fine,
if that's,
you know,
you should really just make,
you should make Cassidy available.
Oh, should we?
Is that what we should do?
Great, thanks.
I think just from a pure entertainment standpoint,
like Vegas is back to being the villains.
Yes, they are.
Because there was a while this year where you're like,
they're back.
They're the heel, Dean.
I feel like I'm okay with it.
I like it.
We need villains.
Gotta have it.
Yes.
Yes.
Problem is, I don't know if they're that good.
I'm okay with it.
They came out of the Pacific.
That's all we needed someone else to do.
They are still playing.
They're in the final four.
Yep.
They can't, you know, they had to play the teams put in front of them.
Correct.
Gary's playoff structure.
It's not, uh, it's not torts.
I'm wondering like fully in, uh, Vegas if he's like,
like, it sounds like there are some warnings for torts.
Like the whole team is this a whole torts thing?
Like, is this a torts decision where he's like, I don't ask what the league says.
This is what we're doing?
I think it's both.
I think that's why you saw Torz Fine and the team sent a pick.
And I think that's why he's such a good fit there.
It's like more villainous heal behavior.
Because Torz loves protecting his guys.
But what I don't think he realizes is when he continues to pick battles with the media,
it actually creates more of a spotlight on his team, not less.
He thinks he's saving them.
I'm going to protect my guys, but it actually makes the spotlight brighter.
Like, how's the media scrum is going to be against
Colorado more or less intense than they would have been otherwise but I don't know
media scrums are exactly so don't let it become a big thing like just open your room
well what are they going to do if they have a media scrum now though they're going to be doing
them now are they going to get more well I get that but they're so hoary hard because it's like
don't go answer then do the old what's the football guy I'm just here so I don't get fined
Marshall Lynch, yeah.
That could be what's next.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Is torts pulling some, something like that.
Nobody cares work hard.
Yes, that was.
Yeah.
Jack put in the chat ESPN reporting that the appeal has not been successful for the Vegas Golden Knights.
So they must be pissed again like they are the heel.
The league must be mad at them.
I don't know.
I didn't understand it as that big a deal.
Elliot had a bunch on it on the podcast that dropped yesterday if anyone wants more.
I don't.
Very close.
Yeah.
You just need to have more respect for the media, right?
Yep.
What do you think Torts made on that deal?
You come in with eight games left, million bucks?
It's a great question.
Yeah, I have no idea.
100 grand doesn't sound like, oh, it's sizable.
Like, players don't get fined more than five.
You know, there's no rule about what you can find coaches.
Because he doesn't have a contract for next year, as we've talked about us for the end of this year.
And you would think there'd be bonuses for a playoff win.
Yeah.
Like, I would think it'd be.
he'd be doing real well if you got to a million bucks for eight games plus playoffs.
And for 10% of that to go, like, you really got to not want to do a two minute media avail.
Like to your point, just go in and give bad answers.
You don't have to create this firestorm.
Next question.
We have a point where you have the kind of money where he is a hundred grand is F you money.
I don't know that it's a hundred grand, but I can't.
You're making three to four a year every year he's coach the last while.
I'm just thinking for the owner, right?
It's nothing.
Well, and the owner wasn't fine.
100.
The owner is not even a, what?
Yeah, isn't that worths in the bees?
It's not even, no.
Oh, I know.
That's what, that's what I'm saying.
Yeah.
It's like, yeah, I'm going to do a thing tonight.
Okay.
It's 100 grand.
Cool.
Yep.
That's how you got to roll, Dean.
That's how Jack rolls.
Limo bus?
I was just thinking of what we could get Jack to do for $100,000.
Oh, yeah.
Weren't you in a limo?
Was yours a bus?
Yeah, what was your story this weekend, Dino?
Yeah.
So tomorrow on the show, no, no, no, no.
Jamie will be in on Thursday.
Dean.
And what was the occasion?
He went out to do some little day, a little two.
Two steps.
It was Zoom.
No.
It was a belated 18th birthday party for my middle kid.
So is it what a two-stown.
That's what mature adults do is take their 18-year-olds out and get them shit.
It was not my plan shots.
Yeah.
It was planned by his brother and some other, some of his friends or donkeys,
they were playing beer darts in the backyard.
Love it.
into this
into this limo bust
and off the car.
It's hard on you.
I didn't have you and Jack
both being on limo buses
this weekend on my bingo card,
do you know?
Neither did 365.
They wouldn't put it on it.
Plus 10,000.
I should have sprinkled a little bit.
Yeah.
I'm glad you have fontine.
That's good.
Letting loose.
Yeah.
If you don't do it.
Good times.
If you don't do things,
you don't do things,
man.
That's what I say all the time.
That's what I say.
Amen.
Jack.
Yep.
That was the show today.
Sure.
Yeah.
It used to it.
Yeah.
Hope you liked it.
You got three more coming.
Gross.
You want to make our picks today or tomorrow?
Tomorrow.
Yeah.
I was too excited.
I think he was,
yeah.
Fun guy.
See you,
buddies.
