And then he elected to say, you know, I'm going to get some content. We ended up live streaming the final on YouTube.

The ball. An hour long broadcast starting with it, hopping in the truck and getting ready to go. It was good. We were a solid team. It was very press with the bounce. The first game against the Oilers honks, we started like shit.

We were down 4-0. Nothing. We were like, what the hell is going on? on here, but we battled. And by the end, they were gassed. They were just firing pucks up the middle. We were scoring like every 10 seconds, it seemed like we had a goal. I don't know what the final is, but we beat them pretty good.

We beat them real good. And considering the 4-0 lead, we are rent-free between their years. This is now four years. They have never beaten us. They got one shoddy tie where they bribed an official, which was actually a win for us. And they felt the moe and folded like a cheap suitcase late. just panic and the defeat was on their face

with like five to play. It was so beautiful. So they were upset that it wasn't just given to them? Yes. Like David. They, it was inevitable. David, you can have him,

but now the Stanley Cups are different things. It was inevitable. Oh, it was great. And then in the room after, they're just like all bickering at each other over the game. That's great. I love here.

That's heartwarming. Oh, it's great stuff. And of course, you know, we were at the Jasper Park Lodge, which is the, crazy renovations right now because obviously Jasper is a rebuilding,

but we're talking like over $100 million renno, I think it was. So like, who is a lot of, main lobby was closed, but you could go to the golf clubhouse and they still have the hot pools. Jack and I got a session in in the steam and the hot tub, which was great between games two and three on Saturday. But the Oilers Nation honks have the huge cabin.

There's like a bunch of rooms in it, so they host a bunch of stuff there. Not unlike two years ago, they got to watch us drink out of this bastard. night in there, Kevin. It's wonderful. That's great stuff. Shout out Drew from Bet365.

Our boy was great. We named him the MVP of the final. Yes. Johnny Lazarus from Morning Cup of Hockey, one of the shows on our network. He's based out of New York. He was there with his lawyer, girlfriend, who's from New Jersey,

Some guy leaning in on his ankles. No, they didn't, everyone could play. It was a big tub, brother. Yeah. So then, of course, just to stay with our weekend. There's lots of show to get to later on. But following the victory, we head back to the cabin, celebrate. There's some food.

And then, oh, there's an Oilers game. So we have to go. Oh, yay. Oh, it's a lot. It's a watch party. Good. Game 53 of 82. We must attempt.

And they had a little sports bar in the basement of the hotel, which was still going. So we're like, we all, all the oilers honks are there. A lot of the teams in the tournament are from Evanton area. because it's closer to Jasper. And so the Oilers in dramatic fashion get a six point night from Evan Bouchard, winning overtime after tying it late. And they go live with their post game show.

They had a pregame show, a live watch party and a post game show. And we thought we'd ham it up a little with the trophy in the background rat. So let's go live to the Oilers Nation post game show. You met up your boys now. You are boys now. On the other side, Charlie Lingren,

No. I wouldn't be surprised at all, but I don't think they're unbeatable. No, and then like at the same time, would you be surprised if they're like, yeah, like they finished 16th in the league, 17th? Like, it's kind of where they are right now. I don't know. Weird.

It's like you have three superstars and if they want to take over a game, you win. Otherwise, they don't. If we get power plays, we're probably going to score and win the game. If we don't, who knows. Yeah.

Uh, Flames game. You want to opine on last night's Flames Ducks, the final of that five game home stand? Perfect. Perfect. Good, good ethical tank game. Four three goals, which is great for the flames. You lost the game. You didn't get all two points, which is excellent.

Mm-hmm. It was an earlier start. So the fans got out of their early. They got entertained. Some good, some bad, some oily. That's the segment. good they're bad in the oily? Well,

The flames are lacking those desperately, it seems. I'd say so. Yeah. I mean, they scored three. And you can try and build up some of the guys. And I thought again, I thought the effort was okay.

They had to three, which is, you know, not a note for most teams, but they'd scored a total of one goal in each of the prior to. You know what part of the problem is that I, along with all the players in that dressing room, seem to be in the same mode of, they're not got a game. They got a couple former players. And then the guys we had in the final, they beat us to their own robin, but we knew we felt like we had them sorted out. So we come home before hard. Took us lightly, hey? Took us lightly. That's all right. That's just the way we like it.

And Thursday gets the win there.

And then you go up to Edmonton and Jasper and get the win there. And I'm here. We're just a bunch of winners. 2026 is our year. Yeah. That's the year of the horse. Yeah, Jack's the loser, I guess, right? Well, Jack was a big winner as well.

He just tucked in a ton of like maybe five in the second half. My ass right in front of the net. It was unreal. And five or six goals. It was so. I take it back. We're all winners. All winners team. Just a bunch of winners over here. Yeah, just don't confuse us with the losers. They're not here. The winners are here. This is the winners show. This is the winning podcasts. Don't, don't be fooled by the team. man, and I was showing my wife, as you were sitting there, not only has he just won

And the other is like, he's historically with ore and like, Hall of Famers for his production, especially when you look at the playoff stuff. And all these things are true in the sense that he is a laxadaisical battle. body language poor defender in his own end and he's this incredibly elite offensive guy and it's

not just because he gets to play with 97 and 29 he puts up numbers when he's on the ice without them and and i don't know i feel like we've talked about bouchard a lot but i i want to prepare this fan base there are there is a lot of evan bouchard and zan per x game and and if you that's good point we might have to understand there's going to be knights where you're like that play is a horrible look, but you also say there's going to be nights, so you're like, he was in on all four they scored. It is getting comfortable with any give and take

or wondering if you can be comfortable with them. And we need game breakers. Because we don't have any, and we've been watching it for too long without. And do we have an echo? Is that not who Bouchard plays with typically? You need that steady. Who could play with them, right?

Like that's an important piece of the puzzle as well. Is it Bristavich? Is it Kuznetsov? Is the player even in the system, yes. Because if you have no one that can play with that, then it's like, oh, Jesus, it's, we're in the wash cycle in our own end here. That's one of the complaints I've had with the flames

and Perek. He's only played 11 games, under 10 minutes and a few of them. The last game, I think he played six minutes. He's been hurt, he's been, you know, vulnerable and taking hits. You don't want to see him take. But I don't think he's going to get better at not getting hit by not playing the league. I think he has to keep playing the league and figure out

that time and space thing. There's no other league that can replicate that. You had two points in the American League on the weekend. I was going to say, how is the assignment? It looked a lot better. Pike's got an article on it. We'll show you in a moment, but better. And so if you're going to look

at this season and try to not make it a lost season of development, my one complaint is why have you never played them with anyone that I think could be helpful to? They will. Yeah. And so that's what I want to see when you get back. Remember there's times where I bring things up and you're like,

They've moved at Anderson. He got to go. go to world juniors and he put up big numbers they've used the two week conditioning stint i think when he comes back he plays with somebody decent caliber and they find out it's too easy to or too harsh to say they find out what he is they give him an opportunity to become something and they get you know what i mean like yeah you're not going to judge him on the last 20 games of the season 25 games of the season like it's you'd like you're going to judge the last 25 games of season but it doesn't mean he is what he is for the rest of his career.

Yeah. I'd like to see him put an opportunity to succeed. So that's power play and with a guy to his left that can, that's a nice fit. I don't know how you don't play with ball. It only makes sense. Like ball is just standing there staring like huge defense first, been more physical this year.

I feel like he's, he was terrible at the start of the year. Whole team was. And he's gotten a little more physical and he's skating with Buckmore, I thought. He's a nice find from Connie. Yeah. Like that's, that's assault defensemen that you've had.

You start doing the math and it's Roshney and him for a year of Markstrom. You're like, that's, or two years of men, Markstrom, that's a great deal. Marksum made help and if he kept them.

No, you're going to go better than him anyway. Like, if you look at Wolf's numbers this year are just okay, but like far superior of Markstrom last year. Markstrom's been mad this year. They're struggling to. Yeah,

let's, uh, I'll say this. I didn't mind seeing Matt be Gridden on the powerplay. Do we have this goal, Jack, that Coronado scores. We've talked about this power play, which has been dead last in the league

for a lot of the season. We've talked about their inability to score goals. We've talked about the lack of skill. They all kind of look like third lines. Where are the game breakers? And you have the section of the fan base that's saying, we want to see the kids,

we want to see the kids. Matt Vigridden's had a great season in the American League. They bring them up and Matt Coronado does not score the school, if not for Matt Vigridden. Because it's a chance to. It's a quick move of the puck.

Like, skill does things faster. Skill thinks a play ahead. Skill allows an opportunity for Cornell to have way more net to shoot out. That's what you taught to, Oiler Hawks and Jasper, too, but just as a size. Kind of more of a stay at home defenseman this weekend, but we had a couple of place. Do you have a clip of this?

But it's a great. It's a little, it's a little indication of just like he already knows where he's going and it's off his stick. He's not overthinking it. And this power play has looked so sluggish and lethargic and like not quick and loose. That was good to see. I'm probably over analyzing. I think you're over analyzing it. It is a good pass.

I don't think it's not all. Other guys in the NHL can't. But if you're on an NHL power play, you should be able to do. Right. That's not to say that the guys on the flame. bench could do it. Yeah. And that's part of the problem.

You could fantasize on Perak, Coronado, and Gridden on that power play, though. I'd like to see it. What are you supposed? Screw the fantasies. Let's see it in the spring.
