Hello buddies, welcome to the Wednesday edition of Barnburner, a presentation of Bet365.
It pays to be early.
It's just pretty much everything.
What is it ever, you know, trying to think.
When's it a bad thing to be early?
Get the worm, early bird.
Bet 365, the early bird special, boosted pregame odds, instant midgame payouts with early payouts.
They're the barn for winning early this season.
It's bet 365, the home of winning early.
That's what we like.
We like that.
Superchats up as we are live on YouTube.
You put some money down with your comment inside the chat,
and we will put your comment on the show,
get the money to the youth centers of Calgary
as we are here and the,
we're separately together in the McLeod Law Studios,
macloud dashlaw.com.
Take good care of us, as always.
They're good at it.
I think there was a meeting.
It was here, was it yesterday?
Meeting in the minds.
Yeah, nice. I like that.
I like that a lot.
McLeoddashlaw.com, whatever you need.
we may have a legal
litigation on our hands
as a member of our own team
a teammate if you will
has been up to some unsavory
behavior
it started yesterday afternoon
it went into the evening
and I don't like it
which is why I'm sitting at home
this is usually when you go full screen on me
but they're not so
no this time it's not you
this time it's not you
Um, it started, uh, prior to puck through.
It was part of, because.
Yeah.
I just, I just, I just, I'm a show.
It was the pre.
It was the pre. It was warmies, right?
Yeah.
Warmies.
And it was actually, it was you Jack who, who sent out the photo.
Thanks, Jack.
Five.
If, uh, you know, yeah, eight, that.
This was the first photo that came through.
So there's Mike Gould
Who is
At that point
He's hosting the pregame show Warmies
On our YouTube channel
Is he crumpling up some sort of bet
That he's made?
Yeah, I'm not sure.
Is it some notes that
Maybe he had
Cooley as the starter
And a bunch of coolly notes
That he suddenly didn't need, I don't know
But no, as it turns out, Jack,
You could probably speak to it
Because you were part of this.
What are we looking at here?
I tuned in for some reason.
I must have been really bored.
It's a huge rigging indoor suit for warmies.
Thank you, Jack.
Love you, gold.
And I just noticed he sounded like complete shit.
He looked fine, but yeah, you could tell he had a cold or something.
And then he was going through paper towel like crazy.
Yeah.
And Pike came to save the day as he joined him.
So, yeah, at this point, you send this photo out.
And so he's sick and in studio.
And you know how that goes in,
certainly with one.
That looks like yours because the book behind you is down behind him.
Yeah, he's definitely sitting in Rhett's spot and looks and is sick.
Breathing into the microphone, touching things.
So Rhett responds with a WTF.
Then Jack sends another note,
the sickness has now moved seats.
So if it was not enough for Gould to infect one workstation, he decided, well, for the post game show,
I'm going to fly over to Boomer's chair now.
He's being nice to pike there.
That's all.
And I'm going to, you know, there'll be some some nice drool and spittle and the disease.
I'm going to fire into this thing.
And, you know, so you're thinking, well, maybe, maybe he's not, maybe he's feeling better.
Maybe he's over it.
Oh.
It was at this point
When I saw that
I knew that today was going to be a home show
Well there you are
Snot and drool and spittle
And just
Shout out the good folks at Lysel
You jumped the gun
You absolutely jumped the gun
And then he's then Gould sends this
Everything's fine guys
So what you're looking at there
It's our table
With a stack of
of paper towels, which he's touched and
dish soap.
What the hell is that supposed? Like, what are we
Don't worry, guys, I got some dish soap. Hey, guys, don't worry.
I've got some dish soap and some paper
towels. So.
Put out some potpourri. Don't worry, Dean.
Yeah. Burn some sage. We're good.
What an idiot.
A complete jackass.
Right.
So you brought in some Lysol wipes with you. Like, good.
twice. Yeah. Safety first, dude.
Good for you.
Safety first.
God love you, Lysol.
Yeah. He's an income poop,
dare I say. Well, I was just glad you were,
you restrained yourself last night in the
afterburner chat when discussing things with Mike.
Who me?
It's just pile drove him.
Who me? After burner?
No, he was just in the chat.
Oh.
I was not in the chat.
The afterburner WhatsApp group, sorry.
Yeah.
Hold that.
Yeah.
Out on you.
I just said, yeah.
See you next year.
It goes back to the idiocy and societal idiots.
COVID was a bullshit.
And people did learn that if you're sick, you should probably stay the F away from other people.
I find it amazing, the stupidity that Gould shows in.
You need a headphone or like those pods that go in your ear and a screen that's connected to the internet to do these things.
He lives two blocks away.
He's done it from home.
He's done it from another office where he were.
He's done it from multiple different places.
But decides to.
Right.
And then breathe into the apparatus that other people are going to need to use.
Oh, yeah.
By the way, I like your screen today.
That's going to fit in well.
I know.
It was kind of by design.
I figured I was hoping it was.
A little bit of.
Some aquarium there for you.
So that's the long and short of that.
We have some things to get to.
Yeah.
We have some things to get to.
I'm like Jack.
Just there, yeah.
The old wind sock.
Yeah.
Let's get into it.
The big match from the night for Jason.
Dot mortgage brought you by Jason Hummanock named one of Canada's top 30 mortgage brokers.
You're buying refiners.
Mancing, you renewing, go to Jason.
Are you buying you first time?
I got my kid.
Is it ever saving up for a home?
Want to get a home?
Well, before you book a single showing, go to Jason.
Dot Mortgage, a lot of people think they need 20% down.
You may need a lot less.
Find out what you can afford, what it will cost each month and what to do next.
Don't be disappointed and kind of let down.
You go in there thinking, this place would be great.
Then you get your heartbroken.
Go to jason.
Dotmorgage.
No.com.
Jason.
Dot mortgage is the website.
We had Steinberg on yesterday.
We were kind of looking, well,
so in, 0, 4, 1, 5,
to go to Anahe, 6, Vegas 7, Carolina 8,
who's this like 0, 9?
This is this good double digits?
Pat kind of thought yesterday,
Vegas, Vegas feels like a good spot.
Now, Pinder, you kind of thought.
Yeah, I said last night.
I mean, it wasn't ironclad, but you knew they had a...
Oh, you weren't going to stake your life on it?
No, I definitely wasn't.
I did not go put a mortgage payment.
On the flames.
It's what I always complain about.
You're walking the fence again, both sides of your mouth.
They played them well on Saturday.
You knew they'd be without cutter go-cha.
That's a good time to play the ducks again, paling to a lesser extent.
The caveat was going to be the stall, who I thought was really good last night.
But they skated with them for 40 minutes and special teams let them down.
And they still could have got better goaltending and checked the box last night in that front.
Good for them.
I've worked hard.
I felt like it was entertaining, actually.
The goaltending let them down, did you say?
On Saturday, I thought that Wolf would have wanted the two third period goals back.
And he finally had a good third.
You got to remember the two Seattle games, he gets blown doors off early in the first,
then again in the third, then again in the third against Anheim.
That's his best third period of the year by mile.
I just wanted to clarify.
Yeah.
We've been critical of the goaltending general.
Yeah.
And then last night, you know, the old start on time.
I thought they had a good start.
Yeah.
They, this was this, this is the kind of effort, 60 minute thing that we were kind of used to seeing over the last couple of years.
Regardless of what the roster looked like, you were getting these types of performances for sure.
And credit to credit to the guys, credit to Huska, credit to something.
Because I felt like it was, the ducks were not great even in winning a few nights ago.
I thought they'd be back on, you know, back on their horse a little bit.
Again, I was not super impressed with the ducks.
They need D.
I mean, shots at that, at one point there were 22 to 8 for the flames.
Yeah.
And sometimes that's misleading, but the flames were carrying the play.
They, they were full marks on everything last night.
I don't, I thought the flames played harder and better.
And it was, I thought it was an entertaining game.
And yet I still found myself when the ducks got the puck moving offensively going,
holy shit, there's some talent there.
Yeah.
These guys can zip it.
Even when it was three, two flames late, you're like, they're going to need a couple big wolf saves.
And it turns out they hit the empty netter and whatever.
but like it just you cannot feel safe at any moment because there's such a talent gap like this team can't take shifts off this is your huska blueprint this is like this is what we expected and we didn't get for the first four games and people were freaking out and it's like if they'd have lost three to two or four to two last night and you watched that effort you'd be like yeah another ethical loss this is great a couple of couple of Kevin ball's been awesome he's been great he's been really good who's his trainer I need that
trainer. That's a good train. Yeah, I think they mentioned on the broadcast that he stuck in town and worked
out a ton of this summer, which is great. Really? Well, no, I'm into it to someone else who's
because he did go back to Muscocas. Yeah, they were talking about it on the broadcast, I think.
Yeah. But either way, like, that's a really nice, you needed that because we've sort of, it's
looked like in the first four or five games, kids that aren't ready and vets that aren't that good.
And now it's like, okay, white cloud settling in, balls a better version than we've ever seen,
albeit a tiny sample.
Like that's something you can get excited about.
Possive salt center.
Like it has been a long time since we've seen him play with this kind of
happen with all the injuries.
It makes sense.
But we were worried about that extension that kicked in this year.
And if he can play the middle of the ice with that kind of pace and tenacity,
obviously the big caveat's the same one with, you know,
Anzik and others.
It's injuries, injuries, injuries.
But that's a nice find.
Like Huska identified that early.
We're going to put him in the middle.
And all of a sudden him with gridding on one wing and strome on the other,
they're creating chances.
Oh, you're really all over Huska right now, eh?
Way to go Huska.
No, I mean, we've been on them for the defense blender.
But that, I don't think anyone had him penciled in his third line center after their first three games.
And he's been good.
Yeah.
Again, small sample and he has been good.
What I enjoyed yesterday was just that they were, they seemed engaged.
Big time.
Instead of flat.
Coronado again, just incredibly tenacious on the four check, creating chances,
shooting the puck a tonne.
Incredibly.
The thing I liked about Coronado, and I kind of brought it up yesterday, that he was making plays.
It's late in the game, and I could go back and look, I guess.
I probably should have jotted down, whether it was three, two, or four or two at the time.
But it's late in the game.
And he gets into it with Minchikov in front of the net.
And kind of, he takes, he goes to the net, he takes a shot and turns around and gives one right back to a guy who's much bigger and stronger.
And I feel like ordinarily he's not going to do that.
He's going to shy away from that.
It's like, well, how much time's left on the clock we can just get out of here?
But it was, it was instinctual.
He went kind of right back.
Now we're talking about it.
It's not a lot.
They're not dropping the gloves and stuff.
But for that guy who's been a little bit perimeter, has a, we've seen him, we've seen
him drop the gloves.
We've seen him chip away at some guys.
I've been, I've been impressed with, with what I've seen because I've kind of put him in that spot.
If other guys can do the dirty work and the lifting, he's got a great shot and he can get it away.
but I've I've liked a little bit of of his game for sure he's probably been their best forward I'm just looking I don't know that you could say like look tiny sample obviously the huge asterisk and it's a one in five team and they were dog shit for the first you know three of the first four games but like Coronado you wanted to see last year he fought it a bit he's looked a lot like I've really I've liked this game ball the same thing you needed some of those developments clapka again he's intriguing does you you know you know you know you
say it all the time, right?
When you're somewhat limited, you've got to find a way
to get your fingerprints on the game.
Be impactful, do something to get in there.
He's been a part of all these games.
He's a lot of that one to see, but he's, yeah.
I like the block shots.
Again, I don't know how disheartening it was in game one
or down and in Seattle.
I think it is disheartening when you give up so many early.
but was this not the exact?
This is what we thought we'd say.
Yeah.
And I feel like we're going to see it again.
Yeah.
And will it be a perfect season?
Absolutely not.
They're still dead lost.
Yeah.
Well, and there's still, you can tell the offensive maybe isn't as bad as the first four games,
but it's not going to be a strength putting up goals.
You know, they were dead last last year.
It's just going to be work ethic and goaltending.
And if the goal is supposed.
does what he's supposed to do, they'll have ethical losses.
I like Castania in the tiny sample and Sudia of,
as long as you're going to put up points,
they're not going to send them anywhere.
I don't give a,
that's all part of it too.
Have kids that are supposed to be excited and be playing and give them a chance.
And I still go back to when they trade it Iggy.
Nobody wanted Iggy to leave Calgary,
but it's not a,
you have to turn it over and let the kids play.
Like there's too many other teams in the league where you go,
like, these kids are pretty good.
We don't expect, I don't know what the highest, the high watermark is for some of these guys, but you have to find out.
And that's what they're going to do.
Did, what are your thoughts on SUNY have, Dino, there's three games.
He's got three points.
You can shoot at the ton, but you wondered, okay, is he going to top out as a HL score or is this going to be an NHL piece?
I was watching.
I was thinking about you and I sitting in Penticton, watching him for the first time as he was shooting the puck.
She's, that's a pretty, that's a pretty good shot.
Is that an NHG guy?
can you do it at the next level?
And we've seen it on the number like two nights ago, the one in Titan and last night.
He can shoot it.
I'm with you.
I don't know what the scenario would be where you have to send them back down.
The only, I guess, scenarios because he doesn't need waivers.
He might be victim to that.
But he's one of your best goal scores right now.
And he's young.
This is exactly what you want.
You want a guy who's young that you need to develop to get key minutes.
He's getting that and is producing with them.
So it's perfect.
Yeah, I don't see any scenario where he would be going down any.
Yeah, like if you had Hansick and Hubert O' healthy, he's probably not up.
But now that you've seen it, it's the thing that you suck at the most, which is, you know, getting, creating offense.
So I think he's bought himself a nice amount of time here in the NHL.
And you know what?
Like he's a rookie.
You see these guys hit the midseason lull.
I remember Sean Monaghan midyear through his rookie year.
You know, Zane Perak, they wanted to give a breather to.
And like, he might need.
he might go cold and you need a little reset.
But what he's doing right now,
like he's literally playing with Coronado and Frost.
That's your de facto top line offensively.
I don't think you're wrong,
but I gave you the stink guy because I think it's BS
if he has to sit because Hubertos back.
It's exactly what we don't need.
I don't just hear it'll play and I don't disagree.
Take Sunni up out.
Like it goes against all.
Yeah.
I agree with you.
It'll probably happen.
But I don't agree with the process.
Like just because.
things are done this way.
Doesn't make it right.
And you would probably park Simplicaum before that happened.
We'll see.
But it's just, they're just aren't.
It's not like you're looking at a team.
You're like, well, they're really good at scoring, but we need some blue collar guys.
So we'll take Sunnihavo.
Like, he's doing the thing that they suck at.
That's a nice fine.
Yeah.
And to be fair, in fairness to him, it's not just the shot.
There's some of the little plays that he's making.
He's getting, you're seeing more with that confidence as it grows.
And you saw a little bit of that again last night.
just a quick quick pivot.
Renfrew Chrysler, renfrewcriser.com over at 1920 pump house road.
Part of the Capital Automotive Group.
The 60K sport is widely known as Canada's best deal on a RAM sport.
That is just the start.
Renfrew recently named the number one Stalantis dealership in Canada.
That's kind of all the Mopar.
Number one?
That's serious volume.
One of the largest inventories in the country.
The Jeep Compass models price to move.
It's the end of the year.
27s are coming in.
Winters coming.
slippery roads,
who.
Big selection,
big energy
and a team that
knows to close
out a win
when it matters.
Renfrewcrisler.com
1920
pump house road
in the southwest.
We didn't even spend
much time on it yesterday
talking about the
goaltending,
just assumed it was going to be
coolly.
Yeah.
And we just kind of
say, well,
maybe if you're thinking
you need to give
Wolf consecutive starts
to get them playing better,
maybe you do that.
I'm guessing that's what we saw
last night as Wolf was back in there.
Yeah.
I mean, look,
no one's been great.
I like Cooley in Vancouver,
didn't like him elsewhere.
And Wolf's best start was
Saturday against Anaheim.
Didn't love the third, but
if you wanted to say
he's making steps, you could
I guess justify that.
They want him to be the number one.
He should be the number one.
Yeah. And so there's two schools of thought.
One is like earn the crease. Someone's got to go get
a win. And the other is let's give him a
role because, you know, this was the first year.
He's only played two preseason games.
Training camp was really tight.
Maybe he just wasn't ready because I don't think he's a bad goalie,
but those are two awful starts at the beginning of the year.
Goalers are vooders.
It's what I've heard.
Yeah.
That's what I've heard.
That's what I've heard.
20, what do you have?
23 saves last night.
So that's a little bit more money for kids sport coming from Shane Holmes.
Every save makes a difference.
Shane Holmes, donating $5 to kids sport for every save the flames make.

com.
I love seeing Sharon Govich get the empty netters.
We always get to the end of the year.
He had 15, he had 17 goals.
How the hell did it?
Okay.
Well, it was these count.
Well, you've always said it.
You've been a big advocate for the empty net goal.
If only the kings two springs ago took that to heart.
Yeah, they all count.
Is he a plus one on this team?
Like that, I know it's not a perfect step.
I don't think.
And plus my.
Minus is the empty of the U.S.
But I think the end of the hood stuff looks okay from him.
I don't, he's not a perfect player, but he hasn't been buried.
Who's been a perfect player this?
No one on this.
Many and they aren't going to be.
Again, we're,
plus one.
It's great to, it's,
you give them credit for their effort last night and there's some good stuff that's
happened.
You don't pile on them because they were terrible before this,
because this is the situation we're in.
But to just proclaim guys is great players because of,
three points for Sunni.
Yeah, that's, that's great.
What's that mean over the long haul?
I don't know.
Kevin Barr is really,
the last couple of games.
Are we,
All-Star?
Who's voting?
No, it's all right.
We're grading on the curve here, no question.
It's just one of those weird things
where it's like, oh, we lost 9-0 and this guy was even.
You're like, how?
What if we, but it doesn't mean it's on that game.
Yeah.
Thoughts, and you may not have any, because I don't know that I
necessarily do either, but I kind of at some
point during the game, you kind of
forget about Gritten. It's like there's Castania
and oh yeah, soon you have you. Think about the young players
and it's well, yeah,
Gridden is still one of those guys.
And
last night, 14 minutes, 16
seconds of ice. He had a minute and a
half on the power play, two shots. He was a
plus one.
You see flashes.
I'm not trying to throw a guy out
is all enough, but Young and
still has to go. Finding his way.
very much. Yeah, I agree with that. And look, like, the flashes are there because,
and you're like, wow, like, geez, that's a, that's a nice play. And then there's
one a period, maybe. So the difference between a 20 year old Gridden and a guy that's in
his prime is someone that can bring that more than, you know, two, three shifts a game. Yeah.
So why they got to play. And sometimes it's, you know, gets rid of the puck a little too early.
Hang on to it there. Well, you got to move it quicker, but he's still, uh, he's still a work in progress.
He feels like perectomy because you can see the high IQ plays,
but you can also see they're trying stuff that doesn't work or it's like,
well,
that wasn't the right time for that.
This is the figure out what works in the NHL year for these guys.
They don't have the polish yet, Dean.
Right.
The polish out.
Like the correct pass late where he banks it out of the corner and it sets up like a perfect look.
You're like, I don't know how many guys see that.
And maybe he's just dumping it, but I'm going to give him credit because you looked at
his first two passing options are covered.
You're like, oh boy, there's someone right on him here.
Back to the corner, wide open look from the slot.
And I don't know if those all got a piece or they missed or hit the crossbar,
but great looking tight.
It's the flashes that give you hope.
Did you ever have somebody as you're working to point retro?
Now, you're a right shot.
So you'd be kind of at the same spot where Nemich was, where a guy's right on you.
You maybe make a pass to your winger, which puts him in a bad spot.
And he's like, screw you.
He gives it right back to you.
you and then you're in a tough spot and then somebody takes it from you and goes all the way down
and puts it in the debt.
Does that ever ring any bells or?
I tried to catch Paul Kree in a situation like that.
How there go forth?
Not well.
No.
I had the jump on them.
Yeah.
I try to remember who who was the winger?
Because Nemitz passes.
It's always like, ooh, that's tough pass.
Oh, he gave it right back to even tougher.
And there goes Seneca.
Yeah, it was Seneca.
Yeah, it was Seneca.
thought.
Yeah.
But look.
That's why you're playing them.
I don't really have a problem with it because I think he was got to try.
That puck came back to him.
These guys, I'm not just in that situation.
Sometimes these guys make plays on that stuff.
Like that's how talented some of these guys are.
Like there were little passes that Anaheim made and you watch other games and I'm not taking a shot at the flames.
I didn't notice it so much with them.
But there are teams that make plays.
inside of three feet with three guys,
like it's touch, touch, touch.
Like sometimes it's,
so even the things that we need to look at and go,
well, that's a dumb play.
They believe they can make them.
Yeah, if you're,
if you're, let's say, like,
could be a good example.
It's like you're Dallas or Colorado.
You're like, no, no.
Like, Shimon, you can't do that.
Like, what do you?
This is the exact situation.
You can try it and learn.
Did it work?
Yeah, you could learn.
Did I need to be firmer?
Do I take the body?
like this is why he's not on a contender.
This is why you go and move late late picks in the first round to go get him
because there's tons of talent and he's got to figure it out.
He's not there yet.
I'm happy for the individual.
Sorry, Rick, go ahead.
Those seems to be a common theme.
Yeah.
I was just going to say, I'm happy for the individuals because if you look at those two
Seattle games, it was like, Jesus, this is, whoof.
And then they play Colorado and you're going to get rolled up there.
A lot of teams are going to get rolled up by them.
But they were starting to play best.
And you hear it's the whole thing. When you're winning a bunch and you start playing more loose and not as good, you're going to start losing. When you're losing and you start playing better, they deserve to win that one last night. And I don't know how many there's going to be where they have, they've outshot a team. They've out worked a team. Maybe you've had the better number of chances, quality and that deserve to win and actually win. Because there's going to be a lot of nights where the skill on the other side may just bail them out with a bad balance or a power play.
goal or something.
To get a win after five straight and you wonder, when is this ever, because they were probably
doing the same thing.
Jesus, so what?
Is it eight?
Is it nine?
When are we getting our first win?
They deserved it and they got it.
So they get to feel good about things for at least a couple of days because the number one thing
we've talked about in terms of them, just the mentality is you got to find a way to keep
it light.
And that's hard when you're losing.
And I think it'd be worse when you are playing well enough to win and still losing.
enjoy it, you earned it, you deserved it, you've been working hard to get it.
It's great.
Don't need too many, you know, don't need to go on streaks here.
Settled out.
Six in a row.
Don't need to be doing that.
But, uh, that no one's going to be asking, geez, you're longest in franchise history.
Oh, it's double digit loss.
Oh, you can get away from that bullshit for a little bit.
The hardest working team won last night, like the team that wanted it more.
And Anheim's effort was fine, but the flames were detourable.
Hermaned to not lose and overcame their skill deficit to do so.
They looked like they cared and wanted it.
They were excited to have it.
When there was puck battles at 2-2 or 3-2, who wanted it more?
Like mostly the flames.
That's the tip of the cap to them.
There you are.
That's a tip of the cap to them.
That's what I was doing right there.
We'll get to the Pinder report in a moment.
Gamtec, Calgary Company started here back in 2012,
still headquartered here looking after businesses across our.

All right, we start the Penda report for our good friends at Village Honda.
A reminder of the 26 CRV clearout is on now at Village Honda.
Canada's favorite SUV made in Canada for Canadians.
Save on the remaining 26 CRV models while inventory last.
built for those Alberta roads.
Yeah, the changing seasons, the
ice and snow that's coming.
There's your winter vehicle, retro.
Don't miss your chance to get in
at an incredible price.
Village Honda, your dealership for life.
In the Northwest Automol,
Amvic licensed dealership,
we started daily face off for, yes,
it is true. The flames did
indeed get a win.
There's Fairby and Tight on Dostal.
That guy doesn't stop working, eh, old RP?
Yeah, the other RP, yep.
I'm happy to kick my feet up and go for lunch,
but Piker's always right.
Oh, my goodness.
Well, he was here late last night and writing.
My goodness.
Yeah, putting up with gould's sickness.
Easy.
Careful, Ryan.
Careful.
Also, remember when Anaheim was the House of Horrors?
Yes, for quite a while.
What?
How do we not see this coming, fellas?
11-0-2 in their last 13 there?
Oh, it's just like going to the casino.
You know, if it goes black, you got to bet red.
If it's red, you bet black.
Orange, black.
And then green.
Don't mix.
Don't mix.
Double zeros.
Got to cover the zeros.
That's a stunning.
1102.
Like, they haven't been good the last.
Favors, Dee.
Dog shirt.
That is wild.
And I was.
That's fair.
Last loss, April 2019.
A long time ago.
That's pre-COVID, Dean.
Jack, you were late.
Jack used to talk to girls back.
down.
That was a wild.
Let's go to schedule on the road and then back home to open a four-game homestand.
Vegas tomorrow night.
They've actually been better in Vegas.
Pat alluded to it yesterday.
So bad at you guys.
You're such dorks.
And then Sunday they kick off a four-game homestand.
It's actually five and six at home that start.
Here are your Stanley Cup finalist, by the way.
Eight o'clock or six o'clock?
My eyes are eight and then six.
We can still make this happen, retro.
No, you guys, you're selfish.
All right.
Because you wanted to go to Vegas.
Yeah, but where are you going?
There was no surprise that you didn't jump on board.
Nashville two-steper.
It's only one boom.
Can't be in two places.
Weak.
He's excited.
Sorry, Ryan.
Back to you, Ryan.
Folks, I'm just complaining because I wanted to go to Vegas.
Still can.
There's a Flames game and then Metallica on Saturday at the sphere.
And then the bills on Sunday.
Not am I good.
My bosom,
didn't want to join me.
Jack's busy.
Yeah, Jack's so busy.
I noticed that.
And the thing about going to Vegas is if you just wanted to watch football all day and
gamble, you probably...
It would have sucked.
We'd just wish he was at home.
It would have sucked.
Sorry, Ryan.
Good news comes with bad news.
Two points means they're off the Schneide.
Son of...
Look out.
Look out.
Now, that is upside down.
They're still dead last, but the kings...
Yeah, that's the inverse standing.
We're really leading into it here.
Kings also...
They're tied in points.
So I showed you so you're late.
Vancouver's bad, Chicago's bad, Detroit and Columbus is bad as well.
Philadelphia is the team.
Their dog shirt.
They're a dog shirt.
Let's do it right now, Jack.
0, 5, and 3.
Now, we heard about the Flames goal differential through three games.
There's a 6-1.
4-1.
Dead last in the NHL at minus 21.
Last year's playoff, darlings, the Philadelphia Flyers.
right over the steep
10 goals
4
31 against
in 8 games
they have 10 goals
what's going on
Rick
talk it
is he squeezing too hard
you're squeezing and
are these guys a bunch of
yeah I thought we looked really good tonight
a couple guys are nervous
but I liked what I saw
come on now
Rick you gotta get you back to the
automatrist
come on
that's not it's no laughing matter
eyesight is not anything to
poke fun at. I kind of liked it.
Gotta be able to laugh, dee.
Gotta be able to laugh. Look at you.
But the heat's up there, big time.
Has to be. And if you go from this offer sheet where you're like, we might land the
number one center, the missing piece, Dan Vladar was sensational. We got all these
young kids, Mishka, these young kids, Mishka's in shape.
05 and 3. I saw a clip, but I don't know if it was that, the nasty knuckles,
with Riley Cote, those guys, they were kind of saying, hey,
Danny, what the hell are we doing?
What's our, what's our plan?
What are we,
are we bad and drafting high?
Are we giving up picks?
Are we offer sheet and guys?
What, what's happening here?
I disagree with those guys because I think Breeris trying to,
and he's going off last year.
They won around.
They beat the Sydney Crosby Penguins.
But that can be a fool's errandrette, as we know.
When you put too much stock into something that,
were you good enough or were they,
where the penguins just...
I'll tell you what, you had Leo Carlson.
I still think that that team looks pretty good.
I'm too lazy to do it,
so I should maybe talk to AI and just say,
like, is talk it always piss people off when he coaches
or when does he have a long...
When's his shelf life been extended as a coach?
Hasn't really?
It hasn't.
That's, you know what I mean?
We looked at the mess in Vancouver.
We were like, I get it.
Yes.
But he went in and cleaned that mess up, just like Philadelphia, where it's like,
these guys are terrible.
Goes in, has a hell of a year.
You're like, oh, these guys are pretty good.
Look out.
Talks got him playing.
The next year, I love sound effects.
If I could use your board, I wouldn't have to do it myself.
Porter Martone had the great playoff.
He has one goal, just the one point.
We thought, yeah, he was going to be a hundred goal guy.
He was one of the top guys at Bet365 for the Calder before the season started.
Sean Couturee has two helpers in eight.
game. Well, they only have 10 goals.
Right. No one's going to have points. But I just
it kind of comes back to us. So Christian
Dvorak, Trevor Zegras, Kineckney,
Mishkoff is a bit of an enigma. Owen Tippett.
Denver Barkie. Like how good
should they? Kate's Forrester, they got
some good young players. Dude, I think
that those names, you don't think those names
that you just said are. I feel like
that's a good group.
They should not be near the bottom of the
correct. That's why the heat's on the coach. Like this isn't a
roster where you're like, I don't see talented players. I don't see young players. No, you see a lot
of them. So what the hell's going on? That's, that's why Talkett's in the spotlight here.
And look, it's a tiny sample. They need a huska.
Aren't the flames glad? They locked him in for the next two years? I am. Dodge a bullet.
More on the flyers or move along because I've got some flames prospect notes and a lot of games
to get there. Move along. Let's go. Chase Harrington's having a whale of a season.
second round or a bit of an eyebrow raising pick
has been sensational this year.
Last night, how do you like a hat trick
and two helpers?
Is that last night?
Last night alone, that's not the season.
I like those jerseys.
It's a good jerseys.
Yeah.
It's got some Habs vibes.
Jack, you see there's an S and a C.
Amazing stuff.
Hmm?
An S and a C.
Oh, boy.
Jack.
Goodness.
He tried.
He's 6-1-200 already.
He's 18.
Second rounder.
Six goals and seven assists.
Come again?
Six goals and...
Sorry.
It's my jack impression.
I don't know if you're picking up.
Ha?
Come again.
He's doing dual lingo there in case you hand him another script.
In seven games, he has 13.6 goals plus 12, 14 pims.
All right.
Good early returns.
Let's go to the finals.
A billion games last night.
Every single team in action.
Holy.
Lee.
Zoo.
Who.
Zookalor.
Yeah, there's so much there.
I don't think we can even, you know what?
We probably have a graphic that could boil it down a little better for us.
Let's go to that.
The Frozen Frenzy, if you had a chance to jump around to the U.S.
broadcast, they were going game to game to game.
It was great.
112 goals.
13 of the 16 games were, quote, close games.
Seven goals a game.
I'll be hit the overs, Jack.
And, yeah, young guys were scoring.
222 players got on a score.
cheat last night. First goal at
416 Mountain.
The last goal, 15 minutes before midnight
here in Calvary. Yay.
I liked the other one better
so I could see the scores of the games.
Let's go back to that. That's fine. It's pissed to me.
Anything you want to talk about? We had the, the Dallas
Colorado one was fun and they play again
tonight. Nate got in a huge fight.
Zedorov was
absolutely slugging.
He got in a huge tilt.
With who?
Tron. It's still nurse.
It was nurse. That's right. Yes.
And it was okay, like darn all is seasoned here.
And we saw Zadora where it's like, you're big, you're strong.
We haven't really figured out of how to fight.
Safe to say he figured it out last night.
This was his one side as they get.
Yeah, he was better and stronger.
Pounded.
Hat trick for Brady Kachuck four assists from Matthew.
Remember when Paul Marais, guys, you know, he's put him in jail.
Would you ever play Bennett with, uh, with, oh, well, you get sent to jail.
Ha, ha.
He's oddly playing them together and they're not behind bars.
So hey, Paul, maybe you knew the fans were right.
You know, I was watching the game last night.
I'm like, this Paul Maurice really benefited from somebody named Joel Quinville setting the stage in Florida.
I'm not sure why that popped into my head last night, but Joel Quinville is a hell of a coach.
And old Paul scooped in there and took all the.
Yeah, it doesn't hurt having the best GM in the sport either.
Hey, look at me.
Bill Zito's made like zero mistakes in six years or whatever it is.
No, he's made mistakes.
Do you make a little?
Oh, I think that's fine.
Extension.
Terrible.
We'll see how that goes.
Big news yesterday before the games, and timing was perfect because I believe he scored twice.
Alex, the brinket extended.
We're in the new era, $13 million.
I don't even blink.
Well, why not?
If you can flirt with 40?
And look, this is what happens to Troy.
When you allow someone to sit in the GM's chair and answer the phone and do things,
you can avoid situations where, you know, young players are sitting in Sweden without contracts.
So, Jack, how much total cashola is that?
13 times 7 is what retro?
I'm not going to tell you.
13, 26, 39.
Oh, boy.
He's doing addition.
He can't even do math.
Multiplication.
I give up.
Private school.
What would 10 million be, Jack?
What do you mean?
What would 10 million?
10 times 7.
10.7.
70.
And then add 3 times 7.
What's 7 times 3?
21.
So add that to 70.
70 plus 21.
Oh, look at this guy.
We'll work with you, Jack.
We're developing Jack.
Oh, I guess the question I have, I mean, listen, it's good news for the Red Wings who have had very little good news.
Yep.
In terms of PR and that sort of thing is this guy wants out and this guy all that sort of thing.
Are we surprised that the brinket signed this extension?
A little bit because you knew that he basically had full leverage here.
He's a UFA in the summer.
If he wanted to go somewhere, he could force their hand.
He likes it there clearly.
So he wanted to say it.
That's all it is.
And I don't begrudge a guy that likes,
he knows where he likes it.
And he's happy to stay.
Go sign.
Because he could have went and got that contract anywhere he wanted.
I agree.
At any time after July 1st.
Yeah.
Yeah.
In the next two years,
the cap's going to go up 24 million.
Everyone would find room for it to break.
Yeah.
That's a good.
But if he likes it, they're good.
Go ahead.
And it's not 91 sheets coming, Dean.
I'm not, I'm not dogging them.
It's just for, clearly there's, it's, it's not all bad, right?
This is a guy where it's from the outside.
It looks like the walls are crumbling.
I'll stay for seven years.
Yes, it's big money, but I could have got it anywhere.
It's, to me, it's a massive thing for, for the Red Wings.
I agree.
And that's why it's not like, oh, we needed some good news.
Let's overpay them.
It's like, no, that's going to be fine.
and he actually chose to stay,
maybe we can start to read tea leaves and be like,
maybe Larkin's open to this,
maybe it was a Stevie-Wy.
I'll be the devil's advocate.
Oh,
I think it's a bad idea by the wings.
I think they should have traded his ass because I don't think they're that good,
and he's a valuable asset that they could have had huge return for.
Yeah, that's fair.
And he's kind of one-dimensional.
Now you want to pay for those, he's a goal.
You got to have that.
Everybody wants it.
Eight goals, 80 goals last two.
years. Like that's what you're going to get.
But he chose to stay. It's interesting.
Did surprise me a bit.
Okay. McDavid was flying again
last night. Nothing new.
He's... Connor.
Connor. The ninth player
with 54-point game.
Only guy in the league to do it. That's, yeah, he's...
I don't know what year, yeah. I would say, like,
imagine if you could have this guy for like a decade.
How many cuffs would you win? Oh, God, you'd have a mid-flore.
It's good. You're going to get...
I understand. I know.
We'll keep moving.
in tonight's games.
Actually, first this.
We talked about this over the summer
and it's becoming a hot button issue with you.
This is some of them.
We do shows together.
We talk about hockey, you ass hat.
The Connor Halebock situation
highlighting it amongst others.
I did the math.
If there's 23 roster spots per team,
because I asked Jack and he couldn't do it.
That's 736 jobs.
Now, there's guys that maybe are buried in the minors
or guys that are hurt.
But 320.
Of 736 active players on roster?
What percent?
What's that?
What percent?
Come on, guys.
Come on, Jack.
We're trying to develop Jack.
Come on.
We're working here, Dean.
It's like 40 percent.
That's a lot of players.
It's a lot of buck that has that.
It's absolutely wild.
And good piece by a friend of the show, Dean, James Myrtle.
Let's go to the games tonight.
Never met the guy.
Never talked to.
He's a beauty.
Here we go.
That sucks for these four.
teams. Yeah, they've got the
back-to-back going on, three and fours for a couple
of them, I think, too.
Speed the tune, Steen, if you.
Oh, even for a, okay.
Well, we're playing the game, aren't?
I guess we're going to play the game, yeah. Let's be good today.
Yeah, let's be really good today.
I want to go back in time.
I do, too.
The bottom one would be
easy.
To go back in time?
No, just recent.
Mike Keen's a really good one.
We're going to accept that for Dallas and Colorado.
Now, HABs and Capitals.
It might be Mike Keene.
It can be all for.
You could just say Mike Cillinger and get half these things right.
He played for everyone.
You know what a habit.
Classic.
What a classic.
There's got to be somebody out there that's listening to the show and the fan of the habs.
Remember when those two teams played in the playoffs two years ago?
That was good hockey.
They were fighting right on the bench.
who was it on the bench
Anderson
Josh Anderson said a good start today
and see but I thought he was toast
Mike McPhee
popped into my head
You guys remember Mike McFee
I remember Mike McPhee
Big Helmut
I'm gonna check them out for you
Did play for Dallas
This is way back in the old time machine
Habs
North Stars stars stars
Damn it!
Come on.
Dino.
You got to do better than this. Come on now.
While we're trying, well, I guess maybe we're not trying that hard.
Now it was flummoxed.
Was Bondra?
No.
Pavanka?
No.
Oh my God.
It's true.
I was going to say this guy's name just as a scam.
Rod Langway.
I was thinking Langway, too, but I didn't know if you played in Montreal.
What a cup in Montreal?
There you are.
That's a genius one.
Yeah, and then became the Capitals captain.
What a big.
After the 80.
Two trade.
Really?
Rhett, it was worth the wait.
Thank you.
There's a lot.
Great work.
Jarvis.
Gonschar.
See, now that's terrible for me.
Lyndon.
Mike Ribeiro.
Joel Edmondson.
Come on, fellow.
Rod Langway.
That's, of course.
Yeah, Jesus.
Come on.
We always talk about them because they need a defensive defenseman award.
It should be the Rod Langway.
Adam Lowez?
Don't think he was much at all.
Let us move.
Odds for the two games tonight.
A rematch between the stars and the
abs last last night we're talking about fights retro rope hins rupe he uh did well with nathan mckinand
which i did not expect yeah but nate's just a hot why do you think nathan mckin can fight
probably recency bias because he cleaned someone's clock like game two or whatever like some
and i've never seen rupe fight maybe i'm missing it but uh i was quite um fighters i'm just
but you can't assume that because nate runs hot that he's
Yeah, fair enough.
Do you want to pause now, Dean, and we'll do Major League Baseball NFL and the stamps on the other side?
Sure, that would be fine.
Pause for what?
Well, it's got experts.
Time to go to the guest hotline, rent.
It's a presentation of Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating, celebrating their 25th anniversary.
Locally owned family business have been serving over 40,000 Calgary homes.
They're working with home builders, contract, longstanding reputation that you can trust.
They are the very best.
They are good boys and girls.
They'll take care of you.
If you want a book for something down the road or you need help,
OMG, I've got, uh, there's things happening right now.
Crystal Clear Calgary.com.
Crystal Waters, plumbing, heating your crystal clear choice for home comfort.
We go to the guest hotline and say hello to our friend.
Oh, Brent,
there he is.
You know what?
I just turned my pender as a dick meter on and it took him 3.8 seconds to chert me already.
Well, I'm a little tardy today.
I was up early for kid hockey.
So apologies.
Yeah, the, uh,
Where'd it?
Cloud.
Well, it's good for Ryan to have goals.
You can see if we could beat that next week.
Yeah, sorry.
It's good to see you, Cronter.
How are things?
I'm so happy to be here.
You know what?
That game last night was a lot easier to watch.
I thought the boys actually put an effort in.
Like they were, they looked like they cared.
They didn't turn away.
They, uh, I watched it in its entirety.
I didn't fall asleep.
And it was a, it was a fun one.
You know, Klapka gets another goal.
a cheesy one.
And what I couldn't get enough of was was pospicil's fake slap shot from the blue line.
When is the last time you saw that in the 80s?
Like fake slap shot wind up and then he walks one on two and then goes outside the
dot and fires it through Paz, or Dostal's legs.
You're like, gee.
Now you've let a few of those in.
How does that slow?
You know what?
You know what?
I was never as big as I thought.
You know, if I just stood there, it would have been easier, right?
You don't make eye contact with the bench.
You do exactly what Dostal did.
just like this, oh, how could you let him shoot from there?
Right?
It reminds me of, how'd you die?
Get a stick on it.
Yeah, I've told this story.
It's like in beer league, my buddy beef.
Those were the, on the ice, they were his kryptonite.
And they'd make, they'd all make that same sound when they hit the pad in the back.
Fump.
Fom!
God damn.
Like, can you just stick on the ice?
Like something.
It was just every time a shot from distance on the ice and it would be that same.
Couldn't trust them.
Well, that happened to Wolf.
on that third goal Saturday night where I think it was paling that just kind of caught him flat footed and ripped it through his five holes.
So when they go three like that, it's all your fault, 100% goal tending.
Like you can't even look at anybody.
It's just, man, I should have had that one, right?
Got to meet with a goalie coach after this game.
I don't know what you're trying to tell me to do here.
And the worst part is, is when your, you know, your player comes by or your teammate and taps you on the pads and we'll go get them.
I'm like, just don't touch me.
Don't touch me.
Don't look at me.
point to say I know that I made a huge mistake. It's 100% my fault. Don't make it obvious.
Right. It's like when I when I make an outstanding glove save, right? And the first thing at gold,
you know, you see goaltunners, they make a great save and they go right up to their D man and they tap them on the knees.
It's like they just want to let them know, hey, I stop that. I, I bailed your ass out. I, I hate that stuff.
It drives me crazy. Don't patronize me. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly. Do your job.
We were a little surprised to see Wolf back in there. We were, we kind of,
I can't, we didn't spend a whole lot of time on it yesterday.
I was like, maybe Wolf wants to play back to back games to get into a rhythm.
Is that kind of what you would think happened here?
Well, that, and I figured he'd be starting last night because the Saturday game, too, he was fine.
The team was better too, right?
They weren't, they didn't get dominated.
There were spurts where they, they stayed with the ducks and who so played well.
Flames had a tough time scored.
But like that, that first goal on a scramble Saturday night goes over her shoulder as we've
seen quite a bit this season.
Pucks have been going over his shoulder, but that second goal Saturday night, that Plinko machine,
he was playing on the prices right, hit three guys and goes in. I mean, that's just, that's the way it goes,
right? And, you know, he played well enough, I thought that he didn't look like he was
hanging his head too much. He didn't look overly small. Yes, I would like to have had him stop that
third goal. And that fourth one was just weird Saturday night where it was under on correct stick.
He tried to cover it and it was just an awkward looking thing. But I'm, I'm glad they went back to him.
And he rewarded them with a solid effort.
He didn't steal the game.
I thought the flames did a tremendous job of keeping most of the shots from the outside.
He could see them.
There was nothing too dangerous, I thought, that put anything in jeopardy, really.
Wolf was good in the third period, controlled his rebounds.
He smothered pucks.
There was nothing squirting out.
He just looked a lot more calm and relaxed than that.
And he wasn't looking up or looking around like he was distracted.
He was focused last night and the team had a great effort in front of him.
I wrote it down because you made a good point last week, which isn't often, but you noted, like,
this is the guy that's fought adversity, his whole career, right?
Well, everyone's freaking out about two games.
Like, he wasn't.
Yeah.
Don't work.
And you got to, like, we can critique all we want.
It's basically, it's, it's one or two games early on.
It's, this team's going to struggle.
They can't lose the way they've been losing.
They can't get blown out, 6-1 with a poor effort.
Yes, mistakes are going to happen.
You're going to have giveaways.
and we saw Nemich last night.
He'd basically ironed his wranglers for that one.
He had so much time with the puck and Seneca
just picks them up and goes down the ice.
I was kind of concerned where his head was at with that one,
but that's going to happen throughout the year.
The young players trying to make mistakes,
you want your goaltender to be able to bail you out.
And Wolf has definitely has enough confidence to do that.
This is a critical win for them.
They were 0 and 5.
I mean, I don't know, the longest losing streak I've been on as a team was 6,
and it felt like death coming to the rink every day.
it was awful. What was yours?
13.
You never played on bad teams. How?
13. She was a cold January.
We're in Ottawa.
Brian Murray's coach, he comes in and he goes,
I don't know what you guys are stressed out about.
We haven't won in a month.
Just go play.
At the end of the day, that's all you can do.
It's like what X's and O's. It's like, you guys are terrible.
Just relax, know that you're terrible.
And you'll figure it out.
We're not making the play.
jobs, which is an excellent point, because that's kind of where the flames need to be at, too.
Like, they're not making the playoffs. They got to play the young guys. They got to, the pressure,
I mean, there's always pressure. Don't get me wrong. You want to stick around. You want to
perform. It's professional pride. You want to do well. But like, they're playing for the future, right?
And they, like, what is Perak going to do by holding this, ripping his stick too tight? He's,
he's got every, he's a first rounder for crying a lot. He's going to have a lot of time to be able to figure it out.
and see where it goes.
And a lot of these young players coming through,
it's like you want to see them take chances.
Like, Gridden has been a tad been invisible
for the first part of this season.
So far, it's early once again,
but you don't see him with that same confidence.
You don't see him getting that shot off.
You don't see him getting into those spots
that he can get the puck, right?
He's just, he's not there yet.
And you're going to have ups and downs as a young player,
but you want these guys to be loosey goosey
and kind of, you know, have the mentality
that they're fighting the world and nobody expects a lot from us.
So just go out there and perform and play
and earn a spot and get better.
And it helps
It's an odd
How do you
How do you keep it loose
And we
And you're
Those guys know
They'll lie to us and say oh
We're trying to make the play out
Oh yeah
Sure you are
Go get it follows
But they need you have to have wins
Because it just
It hangs over your head
And it just gets miserable
But
But the points don't really matter
It gets an odd
Yeah we got to work hard
We've got to try to win
But we're not
I've never played on a team like that.
No, and who it matters for too, more importantly, is the coach, right?
Because he's coaching to keep his job.
And the way Huska coaches, too, he's, I mean, like most coaches, they're defensive minded.
He wants the guys to be in position, not be liability defensively.
And a lot of these younger players aren't a tad bit of a liability defensively.
You got two young blue liners in Perak and Nemich, who, you know, they're going to be taking chances.
You see them up the ice all the time.
They're below the offensive dots.
And you've got to have players coming on the back end to support.
them. And when you're not on the same page, it causes a lot of problems. And so, you know, at the
end of the day with all of it, it's how does Huska be patient? How does Huska keep the foot on the
gas? How does Huska not let guys get away with stuff? Because, you know, they haven't really
earned that reputation on a lot of the young players of being able to make those type of mistakes and
going back out there and making up for them. They're going to pile up. So to your point, it's like,
what's the balance here? You don't want to keep, you want to keep them uncomfortable, but you don't
want to pressure them up where they're just dumping the puck in and chasing when you're trying
to build a more skilled team. Losing whatever it was seven, whatever the scores weren't where they
were giving up, you know, the touchdowns there. Those are those are tough. If they would have lost last
night's game where they've been out shooting them, what we said earlier, 22 to 8 at one point,
you've been the better team. If that one slipped through your fingers somehow, like that's demoralizing.
The wins, the points, or whatever, but just for the individuals, for the coach who's no
doubt been grinding a little bit. He can maybe let off a little bit. It's also probably evidence
for the group that we have this in us. We can go out and work. We, and the work may lead to some
wins here and there. But there's going to be some nights where you, you don't just get what you
deserve. It was good early on for them to get, to get that one, because that would have sucked.
Two of flushed that one. Well, and they're, like, you're so close, right? And you don't know
when your next win is going to come and when you see,
you see the way you start that season off where you're just getting the doors blown off
you.
When is our next one coming?
So you get the one in Anaheim,
you can see the boys where we're obviously pretty excited about it afterward.
And,
but they earned it.
You know,
they beat Anaheim to Pucks.
That's how they have to play every game.
That's,
that's been their identity for the last couple of seasons.
They're not going to outskill you.
You don't have any game breakers on the club.
You know,
Coronado's a guy that's got a great shot,
but he's right now has to go get the,
puck himself, he's got to create his own scoring chances.
And he would benefit tremendously from a guy, a skilled player that can get him to puck,
find the opening so we can get that shot off.
And so every, like the flames got a break last night, too, with that pospical goal,
that shouldn't have gone in.
That was the game winner right there with four minutes and 23 seconds left.
The boys, you're looking up at the clock.
Okay, we got to lock it down for four minutes, guys.
Can we do this?
Four minutes, four minutes, four minutes.
And to their credit, they didn't look panicked with the lead, which I kind of thought
they might. They didn't give up a really high-end scoring chance and they held possession
and they kept the shots to the outside. So there is a system for a team that's trying to develop
young players and to be strong defensively because they know they aren't very good at scoring
goals. They got to stay within that structure and that's the problem when you want guys to be
dynamic and you want guys to be take chances and take risks and be exciting players to watch
in that system. Can you actually go out there and
do that on a night in night out basis and and and be that offensive offensively dynamic.
Have you like SUNYev?
Yeah. You know what? I like that he doesn't celebrate it after he scores goals.
I think that's great.
Like he's just, he doesn't put his hands up. He's like, okay, let's go. And I, I, the, the two
goals he's got, I mean, that one Saturday night was from a tough angle. He just fired it on
net. That's a, that's a goal scorer's goal. Not a lot of players think to shoot the puck
in that instance. He got it and he ripped it. That's all you can just see in his mind.
I get the puck. I'm just going to fire it as hard.
as I can. And he's had some success here early on. He is all business. And he, he found that one last
night too. He was in the right spot. I think the flames were just the five on three had just ended.
And he's just circling around that slot. If you watch him, he's just circling. He's in and
out. He's behind the D-Man so he can't see him. And then he pops out. And then he, he's behind
the D-man again and he pops out. And the D-man's always looking over his shoulder, not knowing where
he is. And by the time he looks, it's too late. And he, you know, one times it was off his stick right away.
I've been impressed with him. I mean, he's, he's, as long as long as he's, as long as he's,
As long as he score goals, he's not going anywhere.
But we'll see how long this lasts, but he looks good.
And I'm happy for him.
And I just, I love that he doesn't celebrate.
He just is like, this is business, let's go to work.
Why do you hate fun?
Why?
He's not.
Oh, well, you know, it's like you've done it before a little bit.
You can celebrate when it's your first goal or when it's a big goal, an overtime goal or
when it, but like, hey, the game's still going on here.
Like I'm not counting my cookies.
Let's, you know, it's.
like that's one of the things that bugs me about the NFL as every play is, is, uh,
I know it's in a different world and you play 16 games a season and all that stuff.
Everything is just look at me one play at a time, pump rah, rah, rah, raw.
I don't like that stuff, never have.
And it just kind of shows maturity in my mind with some of these kids that just are able to
go to work.
I mean, you can be excited too.
That's cool.
It's an exciting game.
It's fun for the fans to watch guys celebrate, but I, I hate fun.
What's your favorite kind of cookie?
Ida Klosson, my late grandmother, her monster cookies.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
The rest of the thing never been, never been duplicated.
It's in the fan, it's in the Kron, uh, you know, the China cabinet with tea, you know,
covered and cookie crumbs all over it and never replicate.
I don't know what you put in there, probably booze, but I don't know.
It just wasn't, there was no recipe for a quarter of, of rum, you know what I mean,
a quarter cup of rum, right?
So best cookies on the planet, Ida Klosson.
God rest of
your soul.
I kind of
chuckled just to go
back because I
wanted to ask you,
watching those stall,
I think it was the goal
from, I think it was
the Klaplka goal.
Like, he's like,
how the,
what?
Never saw it.
Oh.
Zid that is.
What the,
how the,
was there any,
was there one player
that just had a way
of beating you?
Is there some guys just,
I know he's getting
one or two tonight.
I'll,
whether it's from distance.
I could see it the whole way.
It's going in.
You know,
there's a,
there's a,
There's a couple.
It was weird.
I mean,
I'll say a couple.
There's probably a lot more,
but the ones I can remember,
um,
you know,
first of all,
with Dostal,
the way he reacted.
I think he reacted because it was Klapka that shot the puck too.
You know,
he just kind of grabbed it and fired it and you could see Dostal's reaction.
He's like,
oh my God.
This is just absolutely terrible.
Um, when,
when Chris Shelley,
he played in the American hockey league first season,
you remember that?
Remember that?
I don't know.
It was a long time ago.
Well,
he didn't have enough games.
Yeah, oh, I know.
He never scored because he never played against him long enough down there
because he was only down there for a short period of time.
But he had this awful knuckle slap shot, and it terrified me.
He would dump it in from the red line.
And it was like watching the curveball coming at you.
You're going to go catch it with your glove and it hits you in the throat and you fall down.
And it was like just an awkward sequence.
But a guy named Brett Sterling who floated up and down in the National Hot League for a while.
He was in Atlanta system.
he was a guy that seemed to have my number.
Every time I'd get on the ice with Danny Heatley, he'd light me up.
I tried so hard.
It was just like, my goodness, the way to combat that is by not moving, right?
Because if you just stand there, eventually it's going to hit you.
If you try to stop it.
Brad Richards, same thing.
It was, he was just such a, in practice especially, he would always shoot for rebounds.
It drove me nuts.
Like you come in on a two-on-one and I knew exactly where he was shooting,
would always go exactly where he won.
and the one time I'd try to get ahead of him,
he'd go short side, and he was a tough guy for me to read.
And then a very funny story, lastly, I'll never forget,
my first call up in Dallas.
You know, at the end of warm-up, you do the, you know,
like the half moon shooting the guys, I'll get the puck out,
and there's always one guy that passes to certain guys.
And the last shooter was Mike Medano.
And so Mo gets the puck, and he's got it on his back.
I mean, he doesn't even know my name.
He's got no idea that I'm goalie in that,
but I'm the last guy taking a shot,
was obviously starting.
And this guy's coming in on a breakaway.
And I'm not, you know, every team's got a routine, right?
Like there's a guy that does a certain move that shoots it in a certain spot.
And you're just supposed to know as well, I wasn't a part of that meeting, I don't think.
And he comes in on a breakaway kind of on his back hand.
And I just dropped down immediately thinking he was going to shoot it.
And he just kind of stepped outside and he was looking at me.
Well, he did look at me in the eye and just put it in the empty net.
And he's shaking his head at me.
And he's like, what the hell are you doing?
And I look at him like, I don't know, Mr.
Madonna what I'm doing at all. I don't know what you're doing. I don't know what I'm doing.
I'm just happy to be here. Thanks guys, right? But I'm making it up. I got day money.
Exactly. Exactly. For DM2. So now when, when do they win again? Because it's Vegas and then
we're going streaking. Vegas? Two in a row? No. Okay. I think it's just up to Vegas.
Like, they're going to have another effort like that, I think. And does Vegas want to matter?
match that. If they do, they win. Like, that's what Huska's giving you for two, three years. That's why he was, had the blender going so hard early because they weren't. And you know what? Not to jump in, but we've said this in years past where it's kind of, be careful, I guess, but in a sense, you've now set the bar for the level of work that you guys can achieve. You've shown now that you guys are capable of playing hard for 60 minutes and you've shown what you can do and probably what it's going to take to get some wins here.
anything less than that, the coaches are going to be on you, as, as they should be now that you've kind of shown that you have an ability to play to a certain level.
And the flames are going to be feeling pretty good after that win, because it was a full team effort last night.
They're going to Vegas knowing it's a tough building to play in.
Obviously, Vegas has game breakers and martyr and Eichol and a handful others that can float for 45 minutes and get three points tonight.
So that's a, some of the flames don't have the luxury of.
But it's, it'll be the flame start.
I'm sure they're going to go to, I would imagine they go to Cooley, try to get him going again a little bit too.
Because last, at the start of the last season, they couldn't go to him at all.
No, he was so bad in the preseason.
He was awful.
And, and so that option wasn't there.
I mean, if Wolf isn't that again, I mean, I would, I would start Wolf again for the, for Thursday night.
I would.
But I could see them going to Cooley because he wasn't overly fantastic against Colorado Thursday.
He didn't have a ton of help.
Don't get me wrong.
They were playing against the powerhouse there in, and in Colorado.
but he didn't look sharp either.
And I think that they have some confidence in him now.
And they'd probably like to see him, you know, have a good outing with the team playing
the way they did against Anaheim.
Hopefully they can duplicate it and maybe get Kooley a little bit of get him a win too
and get him some confidence.
But, you know, it's up to the big boys, like you said, on Vegas if they decide to show up
and what kind of fight they want to get into.
And how hung over.
Like you're going to Vegas celebrate.
Huge win, guys.
Will they do that anymore?
No.
No, while they, it's a different celebration.
Yeah.
I don't want to get into it, though, Kronner.
Land parties or?
How much time you got?
Because I got some questions that are hard hitting.
I actually had one that was interesting.
I'm going to use it because I can save it.
You would have played in an era.
I don't know if you would have gone wood stick era.
Mm-hmm.
I started.
Yeah?
So there was wood stick, aluminum with the inserts, and then one piece.
Mm-hmm.
the shots changed.
You've got 12-year-olds
ripping shots with these one-piece sticks.
I don't know what my question is,
but like when did you notice it?
Did it stand out with different sticks
and different eras?
I,
throughout my,
because I was done playing in 2011
and the shots,
because that was still the one piece,
composite, whatever.
They weren't that good yet.
They were good, but not.
where I'm noticing it now is with alumni skates when a lot of the more recent guys that have retired are using,
I can't, I can't read the shot.
Like I love the old Clapper coming down the wing,
wire it up and you know what's coming and they're just going to try to blow a hole through you, right?
And conversely, when you talk to goalies currently right now,
they can't read it when, you know, old coaches, well, coaches are on the ice that played in a different era.
Use those sticks and shoot the puck.
They can't read it.
Like we could read it, right?
Because I'm just used to it.
Now there's so much flex, they pull it into their,
their toes and they can just shoot out of their feet.
And everybody's got a bomb.
Everybody, there's no slap shots anymore.
It gets away quick.
At least you have a moment where you know a guy's waiting or he's going to
shoot it. So it's he's going to have, he's going to raise the stick.
Okay, I got time to get ready.
Now these guys, it's a flick of the wrist mat and it's gone.
And, and you watch a lot of goaltenders the way they move in the net too.
Like they, they slide into shots.
Like it's a stationary, guys coming down on the way.
and they slide their body into the shot
that they can read it.
But when you pull it into your feet,
you kind of lose the,
like you can't read exactly where it's going.
It's a reactionary game.
Don't get me wrong.
You don't know where everybody's shooting all the time,
but the deception they can use and shoot both ways,
it's like, it's super hard to read.
And there's so much spin on the puck too when they fire it,
that that spin just, just, if you're trying to catch it in your glove
and there's obviously different technologies out there, right?
They got the suede and the palm that's supposed to reduce.
the friction or increase the friction to keep it in your glove and all that stuff doesn't really work
but this this sizzle for basically minimal effort the technology on those sticks is insane i
i i get out there i i it blows me away you watch guys it's the the ovecun slap shots are
are long gone i want to disagree i agree you clearly you know what you're talking about but you
are so phenomenal in the shorzy game that to hear you say that you can't i'm not buying it you were
Exception.
My pride was on the line.
My boy had never seen his dad play goal.
No way.
The boy had to be impressed because the whole building was just gushing over
Brent Crown's performance.
Well, I went to my mechanic the other, you know, after the...
You got a mechanic?
I have a mechanic, buddy.
Yeah, he's the goalie mechanic.
He's the man.
I've been going to him since I played for the hitman since 1999.
And every one of my vehicles that needs...
servicing, gets serviced over there.
Guy. And so I go in the next day, I drop my truck off for an oil change.
And one of the mechanics in the back, a newer young man from the East Coast, he comes out.
And he's like, was that you and Net yesterday? And I'm like, yeah, it was.
He's like, me and my buddies, we were drinking up there and thought this guy didn't have a hope
in hell that he's going to be in the soft anyway.
Oh, that's how the team told. And they were like, who the hell is this guy? We have to Google.
Right. And then he obviously brought up my NHL stats. And then it was just still like, they're just
piling on. I'm letting this guy get at me. But I had to, I had to perform retro. The eyes were watching,
right? I had to, I had to basically man up for one night. And I, and I believe I did. You certainly
did. It was the highest of praise. You know what? And because the, the Shorzy team, obviously
wasn't as skilled as our team. We had a pretty stacked team. Those guys are all showtime, right?
They love the glove side. Yeah. Love the glove side. And that's my,
I don't know if you can remember that far back,
but that's my bread and buddy.
You show it and then you take it away, just like that.
Oh, you were going to go out.
How does that go here?
Show it and then take it away.
Okay, good.
Yeah.
Well, there's one thing you do, buddy, is you make an impression.
You make an appearance.
And last week you came on the show and everybody loves Kron.
I text him like, everybody loves Kronner.
My kid sends me a text.
He's like, I don't know who that guy was that you had on the show today,
but he's hilarious.
I said, well, he was a first rounder of the flames.
What?
He was like, blown.
What?
Like, oh, yeah, back in the day.
He's the first round.
He really was.
Well, that makes me feel good because one of my dear friends I play junior with lives up
and Sherwood Park now.
He's an old fighter.
He sent me a text.
He goes, if you ever go on Barnburner again and talk about whale watching and
snorkeling, I'm going to drive down there and slap a shit out.
Come on.
It's fair.
Yeah.
Now, I don't know if you can see in my back, I've got my
aquarium on because I know you we talked in the past about your love of fresh and saltwater
fish and the and the fish tanks and that so I got the I got the aquarium going for you
you know what I that that's that's a that's a default screen right I have that one in my
house too I'm not sure it's beautiful it's a real aquarium I could see a it's an ever
angel swimming around back there it looks beautiful but yeah I think people they were just
how seamless you came in just the comfort level that you had and
then when we started talking about fish, you kind of,
I think you impressed a lot of people with your knowledge and your depth of expertise.
I don't know if anyone's reached out to you, but we're pitching another show, another podcast,
Brent Cron Marine Biologists.
Yes.
I love that.
That's so good.
I'll have to buy a wetsuit for it.
And a bigger set of goggles.
That can cover my eye.
A monocle.
Yeah, but we can cover my blowhole.
So I'm not sure when we're going to get that off the ground.
That's unreal.
Apologies to your buddy up QE, too, because he's going to like that.
He is.
He actually might stop listening.
He listens to it all the time.
He's a, he's a good friend.
And he has it to me like it is, and he can shout up his ass.
That's all that story.
That's for you, you know who.
How was Thanksgiving?
Oh, man.
It's the best.
weekend of the year.
And you get to do it twice?
It's Christmas without the presents.
It's Christmas without the expectation.
My children are older.
They clean. They, they cook.
They help out.
Really?
Like, oh, man, it's, um, I took Friday off too, so I could have four days.
Oh.
And I tell you what, I just started hitting my, my groove at about Sunday at one.
Just slid right in there.
And I'm like, my lord, this is.
heaven. I get to eat turkey and the roast and potato salad. I don't, not a big, not a big fan
of gravy. Don't shoot me. Not a big fan of gravy. Um, if you, you what? The, the stupid part
about it though, I did make an egregious error. I, uh, I, my house is stock full of beer, as, as one
may expect, but I was running a little low and, uh, so I'm like, you know, I'm going to go out
and pick up, you know, a couple more bruskeys for the people that, that may want to have some.
And if they don't, I won't be offended because they will get drank in some way.
shape or form over time. I was in a rush, so there's a liquor store by my house that I cannot stand.
And I had to go in there because I just left it too late and I needed to go back, go in and out.
And I ran in and they said, hey, can we help you? And I said, don't touch me. I'm just coming in
for some beer. I'm going to leave. And I grabbed my, my beer and they're like, hey, are you a member
here? And I said, no, I'm not. I'm like, yes, you are. You've come in for 15, 20 years.
We know who you are. I'm like, I know you do. And I've told you every time my name and then you make me a new
account. I said, I'm done with the Tom Foolery. I don't have time to waste. Let me pay full
private. The damn beer. I probably have $7,000 credit there that I have no idea. Like,
I'm not going to touch it. That was spite. So I hide tail out of there. I'm just disgusted. I
have to go on there in the first place. I get home when I put it in the cooler, all chilled.
And I'm like, oh, I could sure use an ice cold beer right now. And I go in and I grab it and I
open it up and I take a sip and they're like, damn it, it tastes like trash. It was zero percent
beer. Oh, Cron. I don't make that mistake, boys. That's not like... In your haste.
Zero's in your haste. And it was proudly advertised. Zero point zero percent proudly advertised.
And I'm like, well, that's I couldn't hear of a week. You're not going back. Oh, no. So I'm like, my son who's
15. I'm like, just get after it and see if mom pays attention. I see if you're so rattled by
interaction. So I had to get into the red. It made up for it. But yeah, nice beer to start.
Glad it turned out all right for you, McRerner.
Get some thinking juice in you before you.
They were probably looking for an autographer.
They knew who you were.
Oh, they do know who I am.
I'm troubled when I walk in.
Those aisles are tight, too.
They're very tight.
The aisles are tight?
Very tight.
Poorly right operation there.
There's not a lot of space in there.
They stack stuff up on the walls.
I've got to walk the side like this.
And unfortunately, you go there four or five times a week for the last 20 years.
Out of some times in the morning, right?
Like, you know, you run low.
What are you supposed to do?
That's right.
It'll get you.
Well, we appreciate you, bud.
People are pumped to have you here on Barnburn.
Oh, I'm pumped to be here.
This is the second stint.
I love it.
I'm looking forward to every minute of it, boys.
It's good to see you guys again.
Awesome.
Good to see you, pal.
Have a great week.
See you, team.
There you go.
Brett Cron, joining us on the Crystal Waters,
plumbing and heating.
Guest hotline,
your crystal clear choice for all residential plumbing,
heating and cooling services.
there's a lot going on at Crystal Waters right now.
They got the specials on the garage heaters.
You can bundle up,
oh, your air conditioner.
Why would I be doing that now?
Well, you get them, look at your furnace,
there's some repetitive maintenance.
They got out, crystal clearcadry.com.
Now's the time.
They'll send you a list with check marks.
Yes.
That's right.
They'll let you know.
I was going to ask them with all the leftovers.
What do you do?
Because I've, I've, have you had the turkey a king?
But that's kind of a gravy-based thing.
If you'd have a gravy, he's not going to make that.
I don't like the non-gravy take.
That's a bit of a red fly.
We'll get into it over time.
Yeah.
Obviously, he's going to be with us every Wednesday throughout the year.
Interesting palette.
There's some things that you would think, like, this is a guy's guy who's going to want.
Doesn't care for the gravy.
There's some other things that'll kind of shock you.
It's like Dickinson with the cheeseburgers.
It's a lot.
Yeah, it's a little bit unique.
We can get back to the Pindrake.
Back to you, Ryan.
All right.
We wrapped up the NHL.
after the 16 game frozen frenzy last night.
And the majors, a big win for the raise at home.
We are 1-1.
I believe they're going back to the land.
This is 232?
Sure.
That makes it Evie Stevie.
And, yeah, the National League won.
We want Cleveland to Milwaukee, don't we?
Yeah, I think we do.
I think everyone is okay to watch the Dodgers.
I would like to watch them lose.
Small markets, scrappy teams.
Nobody of either of won one of the brew crew.
The Cleveland way back had to have won.
No?
I don't know if I was won one.
I'm going to look.
You can't be the Burrs in the 80s?
I don't know.
Jose Ramirez has been sensational for the guardians all year and the postseason.
And ever since he's been a guardian, there was a great article that someone sent the other
day.
He's like, yeah, anytime I talked to extension with him, they're like, we can't afford you.
You have to trade you.
He was like, I don't care.
Like $200 million or $150 is the same.
He's on the biggest sweetheart deal.
loves Cleveland and has been awesome.
Someone built the flow chart yesterday.
It's like, is this guy hitting?
And it's Ramirez's his face.
It's like, yes, don't pitch to him.
No, pitch to them.
Like he's been that good, but a big win for the raise at home sends it all square back.
And it is 2 O for the brew crew over the Dodgers.
So that one goes.
There's your odds for today's games.
Look at this.
Two games.
Love it.
6 o'clock and 4 o'clock tomorrow.
Excuse me.
Oh, Bob Gasser.
It's a funny name.
The old gasser snow.
Clever has won in 1920 and 1948.
And the brew crew?
Brew crew never have.
Yeah.
Well, then go those guys for sure.
Okay, that's the baseball story.
Thursday night football a day away.
We know what's going to be the Broncos and the Seahawks.
This line's moving the wrong way, guys.
Just when you think you know something.
The start of minus three for the Seahawks,
now it's minus two and a half.
Do you think you know something?
No, I don't.
I just, you expected the Seattle, the defending Super Bowl champions against a Denver team that we talked about.
Don't really know what you're getting.
Haven't been terribly impressive.
And now it's less than a field goal.
Or there's some injuries, availability.
Is there an under chat?
JSN had a undercangle or wrapped up?
Yeah.
I don't know.
When I first looked at it, I was definitely like, this game feels kind of ugly.
Forties getting low, though.
That is.
Yeah, that's fair.
Yeah, if it's 21, 20 and you hit the over, that's a low number.
These defenses could put up some points a little bit here and there, too, if we're not careful.
Zach Sharbonate will not be ready to go.
Sounds like one more week for him.
Price is on IR on the other side.
I don't know, Denver's kind of been just okay enough, but not.
The Bownex does not look like Bownex this year.
Not the one we saw last year, at least until the playoffs.
Finally, the stampeters, a reminder, their final home game is Saturday.
Five o'clock, pink power game.
Stampeters.com
slash tickets.
Fellas, go get a dub
for year of the horse.
Saturday, 5 p.m.
It's the Lions.
It's a great cause.
Pink power.
Must win game.
Go get it.
Let's go.
LFG.
Okay, that is your Pender Report this Wednesday,
October 14th of 2026.
A reminder.
Winter is coming.
It's true.
It's true.
Winter tires, Honda expertise.
put those together with a price you can feel good about.
That's the Honda tire source at Village Honda
backed by Honda's lowest tire price guarantee.
Drive with greater confidence this winner.
You know these Alberta roads?
Better breaking traction control.
Got to love that.
Village Honda, your dealership for life
in the Northwest Automol Amvick licensed dealership.
How about it?
Winter's coming, Dean. You loved Game of Thrones.
No.
Never saw it.
Not my.
It was good at the beginning.
They got swords and spells and that sort of dragons.
Yeah.
Dragons.
I don't know.
It's it good?
The last season got kooky because they had to wrap up.
Last season was ridiculously.
Before that, it was very good.
Gotcha.
Yeah.
Do you guys like my shirt?
Love it.
Did you guys get a shirt?
I got a shirt.
I got in the trash.
Somebody stole it.
No kidding.
I'm wearing the hoodie right now.
Are you wearing the shirt?
Oh, check now.
Unbelievable.
Feels like we're kind of starting to do our part.
Movember, it's coming.
It is, it's kind of the year-long thing, but we know how it goes.
Gets down to November.
But we're still dumb men, and we need to kind of get our act together.
It's why we've been talking about through the month of October.
The leading global movement working to change the face of men's health for good.
Since 2003, over $1.8 billion has been raised through the Move.
community funding over 1,300 projects. It's about mental health, suicide prevention, prostate
cancer, testicular cancer. The face of men's health, it's a complicated, it's a big thing.
And Movember has taken it all head on. Challenge a friend, grow together, a grow mitment.
There you see it. You can sign up at Movember.com. Or maybe it's something different you're doing.
Maybe it's because everybody's, there's a lot of guys wearing mustache. Look at you. Redho.
I'm going to let her
She tick
Jackson's getting real dusty
I can't pull off anything close to that
You got to be really clean shaving around
That's the only way yours is going to stand out
Yeah
Pick a friend pick a challenge
And if you're going to well what kind of say
Go to Movember.com
They've got ideas they've got things that other people
Have been doing over the years
And you can make a difference
Growing together
And help change men's health for the better
As we get ready for it
and the t-shirts.
I think that's not,
think that's me doing my part or do I like the hats,
which also got stole.
Stolen.
Taken.
Take, yeah, okay.
Okay.
Sorry about that, right?
I got a couple hats for you.
Hmm.
I'd take it.
Okay.
It's nice.
We can, uh,
we can talk about Montreal.
Oh.
Logging feature.
back there.
Yeah.
We got to do our bets.
And we got to welcome another new sponsor to the show.
So we can do any number of things.
You know what?
Let's welcome the sponsor.
Hello, DoorDash.
Who?
DoorDash.
It's kind of one of those things.
I mean,
uh,
so hockey's going, right?
Hockey season's begun.
We got playoff baseball.
We talked about how this is the greatest tab here.
Pender just told you about snow tires and that sort of thing.
This is DoorDash season.
Oh, baby.
Every Wednesday and Saturday, there you see it.
Enjoy up to 30% off.
What's today?
It's today, Wednesday.
Up to 30% off tonight.
What's for hockey?
What's for doing?
It's DoorDash.
Hockey Night is one of those rituals that brings everyone together.
Official partner of the NHL making it easier to get your game night favorites delivered
so you can stay focused on the action and not miss a moment.
Wings, pizza, burgers, your own gork.
You know what it's all about.
Get the app.
Make it easy for yourself.
Good food, good company, and a little bit of hockey.
Now there's only two games tonight as we go for what's on the menu.
Pinter talked about in the Pinder report.
Dallas, Colorado, great kind of a little rivalry there.
Back during every year in the playoffs, it feels like they play one another.
Last night, Rupa Hintz scrapping with Nate McKinnon.
There was a Svetchkoff was going with Radickfaxa.
Really?
Svachkov.
Yeah, yeah.
Same two teams tonight in Colorado.
Is that a tough back-to-back, Red Travel, Dallas, Colorado?
Is that what tough?
Well, the stupid Colorado airports
are in the middle of bloody nowhere.
So yes.
That alone makes it brutal.
But it's not terrible.
It's not terrible.
Two games tonight, Montreal playing Washington.
That'll be loving every minute.
He will.
That's right.
And Dallas and Colorado.
It's a two-banger on your NHL skit today,
but both should be beauty.
So there you go.
That's what's on the menu for DoorDash.
Welcome back to DoorDash.
What's your order?
I'm having a party on Friday.
So I'm going to pre-order the one.
You're in my Jack's idiot.
Yeah, Jack, don't make sure.
Don't drop the ball there, bud.
Don't drop the ball there, but.
Yeah, so people are reaching out.
We announced to the new Barn burner vacation that is coming up in January.
We are going to Montreal, the 22nd to 24th.
That looks amazing.
There's so much winning.
You're going to get sick of winning, Dean.
This is a roll.
we're on here. I see.
Direct flights, a couple nights in Montreal,
walkable to the rink. Oh, yeah.
And that's the thing about everything's kind of walkable.
You want to go up, say, Cathis, you ought to go to the pubs,
the bars, you want to get, it's a great, it's a great city.
It really is.
Schwartz's for some smoked meat.
Duns, which is, it's, it's kind of Schwartz's, right?
Is that kind of that?
There's a couple, yeah.
Yeah.
Duns is good. Schwartz's kind of feels like the one.
get your puteen on i remember uh oh what is it called i got real hammered there oh good
one night i like a nation vacation dean i forget the hotel we were saying but it was close
to the bell center curry used to bug me about it all the time um because we had traveled all day
it was a long day right travel who man i'm wiped i'm early flight so i went and uh i was just going to grab
bucket of ice for some drinks,
didn't have a drink or something in the room and then call it a night.
And I ran into George Richards,
who was a beat writer, still writes, he's in Miami,
writes, uh, stuff there's four, Panthers.
So how are you doing?
I met him over the years at different drafts.
Like, are we going to go out for a drink?
You know what?
Yeah, shit, what the hell?
I woke up the next morning,
no clothes on, on my bed,
bed made.
Well done.
They were announcing some kind of a hockey Canada team.
like Babcock was coaching it.
It was maybe an Olympic team.
It was, oh my God.
I have to.
And I knew the odor was so bad.
I had to park myself in a corner,
like just try and stay away from people,
which I try and do it at the best of times.
Personal order recognition is.
Yeah, like I cannot get near anybody.
This is going to be a terrible, terrible situation.
And we had this, this liquor.
It was like a maple syrup liquor.
Ooh.
Sortelage.
That's what it was called.
This waitress at this pub.
She's like, you guys, she was French, eh?
We.
Yeah.
So we needed to try the sort of ledge.
It was de l'est use.
They know their maple syrup up there.
That's good shot.
Magnific.
Have you been to?
Have you been to De Emma before, retro?
No.
Oh.
I was there to play hockey.
Sortelage maple whiskey.
That's okay.
Sortelage combines the same exceptional flavors of Canadian whiskey and Quebec maple syrup with just a touch of cream.
So we can all expect to wake up nudes somewhere in Montreal smelling the next day if we hit it hard.
Probably didn't need to include that.
I probably could just say went out for drinks and had some whiskey.
But we're looking forward to it.
Nation Experiences.
dot c a is the website there's different packages available
where he's the whole meal deal sold out yet
nation experiences dot see i don't think it's sold out yet
had a couple people reach out one of them's already got the i'm already

he left a super chat last
he's very excited very excited
He wants to pregame.
You get to bring your shirt for them.
The shoes.
The shoes, yeah.
Nation experiences.com.
That's a bit a hit there.
They're very laid back in Quebec.
Want to get this in the 14th of October,
Christmas, Viena Nova.
Before we, I put it down there.
Two months and 10 days, Dean.
Two months and 10 days, look out.
It's odd that this.
I was thinking about this in the lake this morning.
It was freezing.
It's getting colder.
I'm like, it's got to be getting close to freezing.
Yeah.
And it's Christmas.
Oh.
Mm-hmm.
This is when you usually serenade us with Christmas Carol.
Zuccalor.
And you're going to get busy around Christmas and getting around is going to be more difficult with the whole thing.
Do it now.
Go now.
Vinanova lab grown diamonds here in Calgary.
Calgary's lab growth.
We're talking, this is some of the best in the country right here in our city, over at Market Mall.
Lab-grown diamonds made in a lab, in some cases, are of superior quality to what's coming out of the ground.
And the same quality.
They are the same chemical composition, crystal structure, light, refraction, hardness, everything that's coming out of the ground is being made in a lab.
It's perfect.
It's pristine and is anywhere from 50 to 70% less expensive than Earth mine diamonds.
Market Mall, parking,
food court,
Vena Nova,
Hero on Christmas Day.
Win Christmas today.
Go.
Yeah, just do it.
You could do it.
How could you be feeling coming into Christmas?
Oh, freaking out of the present.
Waking up on the 23rd.
Oh, my, my, don't.
It might even be one of those things, too, where you get it done now,
you might even forget about it.
And it'll be December something,
you'd be like, geez, did I not?
Oh, right.
I've got the diamond.
I'm in the clear.
Oh, that is going to feel so good.
Mm-hmm.
Calgary's Labrown Diamond Specialist.
There you go.
Told you that it was last week.
Sean from Crystal Waters.
Big fan.
Dayton Nova took good care of me.
Lots of points there, boys.
Love to see it.
Beananova.com.
We could do some
that 3,65, only two games.
We got a baseball.
game. How do you feel
about your bets today, in it? Well,
I looked ahead to the Thursday nighter
and it is an interesting one, but I also
I did want to get in on
some action tonight as well. So we got
two bets to look at for our friends at Bet365.
Bet 365.
Maybe it's the, with Bet365, maybe it's the
Early Bird Specials boosted pregame odds.
The instant midgame payouts
with early payout. Bet
365 knows why wait?
Why wait when you can be
the home of winning early.
Bet 365 in Alberta only.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Please play responsibly.
All right.
So we've got a parlay for the abs and the stars.
Nathan McKinnon's last five games.
Three points, zero points, three points, two points, two points.
So four of his last five, he's hit two points.
Marty Natchez, a point in three of his last five.
And Jason Robertson, he has been very good as well.
He has a point or more in four straight.
Parlay those together plus 275.
And I know we're lower.
How healthy is he?
How healthy is?
JSN 100 yards.
He can do that on one leg if it comes to it.
Plus 120 for JSN to hit the century mark against the Broncos on Thursday,
which will be a fun matchup.
Is Patrick Certains still out, Jacko?
Yeah, he's toast.
So there you go.
You like to see that if you're a JSN shareholder.
Don't drop the ball.
Yeah, that's rare for him, eh?
Ooh.
There you go.
Good division that one.
You got Niners, you got them, you got the Rams.
Josh and I had a receiver like that.
Oh.
Those are our bets.
They don't need to be yours.
You can make yours at Bet365.
Get the app.
Death 365, official gaming partner.
And presenting sponsor of Barnburner, play to win early.
In Alberta only.
You must be 18 years of age or older.
Please play responsibly.
Get right to it.
Go to the Super Chaffs throughout the show.
You put a comment in with some dough.
the money gets donated to the U-Send
of Calgary and we get you on the show. It's that easy.
It's that simple.
Connie's probably at the tables in Vegas
with Josh Allen right now.
Figure? Oh, they're hanging out.
Probably hanging out, yeah.
Let's go flame, says Justin.
Still undefeated when they score four.
Yeah, add to it. What was the score last eight?
Four two? Guaranteed win.
Easy.
Easy.
Oscar just puts a big number four on the whiteboard.
All right, fellas. Guaranteed win, go get it.
That's all you need to know.
Four.
Truth.
Truth.
Truth bomb.
R.B.
Darrell Sutter's book, Cote of the West came out yesterday, and it is great.
Highly recommend.
Huska would be why it's updated instead of rely on chat GPT.
You get one video clip on that show and it is just relentless.
Did he do something?
I don't know.
It was on the little clip on the chase.
On the chase.
these on the chase, the kind of behind the scenes thing that's on Flames.com.
I would, I disagree.
I think that using AI to further your intelligence is a smart move.
Jack's got the book.
He says it'll be done by next year.
Use all.
Next year.
Things that are at your disposal to improve yourself.
Yeah.
It feels like if you're not using it to at least look at things or.
Oh, careful.
They don't need to hear what you're loving.
I'd be surprised.
All right.
But this AI could
take up. Thank you, R.B.
Cal Mav, $20.
Kron is a beauty.
That's the post.
Wait, how is Rhett's whiteboard coming along?
Like an author that goes through writer's block,
I feel like this segment will never come to be.
Oilers suck.
It's a lot there.
It's there when needed.
It's always available.
Yeah.
It's not a segment.
It's not a segment.
Yeah.
It's just kind of.
It's to catch up all the stupid people.
Right.
When.
It's like AI.
When Redfields the need to inform and instruct the public, it'll be there.
And Cron is a beauty.
Cron is a beauty.
Undisputed.
Yeah.
And, yeah, Euler fans are starting to get some, starting to get their chest puffed up a little bit, hey?
Well, it'd be cool to win the division once before Connor leaves.
guess so you better be careful it's a long dress rehearsal they're very good i get it i don't
like how it don't like it either don't want to discuss it be that coach to go uh bully a fringe
player something like that stir in the pot a bit you just don't think the bear is listening
i just the oilers fans those that's the bear oh i've already pressed the thing that there's
segue. I got nothing left to segue to, except
just end the show.
Have a good trip, you sneaky bastard.
Not really sneaky, but thank you.
It's last minute.
You didn't. Not at all.
For you?
Oh.
For you, it's not that it took his book for a long time.
And you're going to see the guy you always see.
That's right.
Did you see there's like a little jersey remake thing?
Co-lab with the press?
I did see that, yes.
Yeah.
Is that tickle your fancy or man?
No, it's, it's for a game in December.
Right.
That sort of thing.
Maybe I leave some cash for someone.
They could get you one of them.
I think tomorrow it sounded because I believe the San Jose sharks are there tomorrow.
Oh, Stellabini and the crew.
That would be fun.
And there was some, what it is, my, uh, my oldest turned 21.
It's like, we should probably go to Nashville.
Oh.
We're going to go to Musch City.
The money that's...
Dad of the year, eh?
This is over.
It's curtains.
Who's going to catch him now?
Who is about the exchange rate?
Let's go.
Oh, yeah.
Just got this credit card that's got an American flag on it.
Perfect.
Olden works south of the board.
I'm sure they probably want it paid off at some point.
I don't know.
See how it goes.
But, uh, so yeah,
get some,
there's some,
I think Vanderbilt is playing
Arkansas Saturday.
Well, just pump the bricks.
You're a dink.
Pump the bricks.
So you're going to Nashville for the 21st birthday
and you're going to go watch Vanderbilt.
Jack, push the butt.
I would do the same.
They pulled the field goal post down
before we were there last year.
That's a fun team to watch.
I've never been to a college football game.
Actually, I was thinking it was basketball.
Sorry, if it's football, then that's fun.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Saturday I'll send that from the record.
I would like to take.
Take a bat.
Okay.
Take it back.
Yeah.
That does kind of.
But I'm not going to go watch Celebrini.
I'll tell you that.
Sorry.
You're not going to watch down nurse.
He's day to day.
For getting dummied?
Dorov.
It happens.
Big Z.
Everybody's tough.
Yeah.
A little sick of me here.
Oh.
Because you know we can't.
I never miss it.
Loose sleep.
Kaiser.
Fouts!
Montreal is going to be a sick trip.
Great pick boys.
Get Nashville calm even.
He's welcome.
He is welcome.
Everyone's welcome.
Yeah,
that's the beauty of this thing.
The people that say yes to this are saying yes to fun.
Yeah.
Doing the bathrobe gimmick in January in Montreal.
Tougher.
Tougher than Nashville in October.
There's some venues that might get frowned upon.
Yeah.
Well, you could get maybe make a few bucks to help pay for you.
Some, yeah, some you fit right in.
It's hard to say.
Hard to say.
All right, buddies, be good.
Tomorrow's game date, right?
Also, special guest, Jay McNeil of the Stam Peters.
Can join us talking about a great cup week and the final home game in the air for the Stamps.
There you go.
That's coming up on tomorrow's show.
See you, buddies.
