Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the show on a Monday.
It is Barnburner, a presentation of Bet365, the greatest online gaming platform in the whole wide world.
There you see it, Bet365.
I guess the three-goal early payout.
We're going to have to wait for a little bit.
We're going to have to just get back to regular business here, folks.
I guess you've got an HL final maybe, but I don't know.
There's no, we got no soccer, no hockey, no.
Lots of soccer.
Lots of soccer.
Today?
It's what I'm game on right now.
Is that right?
Spain against.
Let's load up.
F and go.
Got lots of soccer.
Four games today.
Let's do it.
Bell to wall.
Sweet.
Also, the Super Chat, I should hit this thing right there.
Just to let you know that the Super Chat is still going,
even though there's no games of any kind.
We're still talking about sports.
You senders of Calgary a benefit if you put,
some money into the old
YouTube chat as we go live
here in the McLeod Law LLP studios.
I've got the
aquarium
loaded up this weekend.
You like it?
Are there any species in there
that eat the other ones?
Like you've got a short window
where they live?
The clown, the fighting.
Angelfish.
Yeah, yeah.
Any barracuda in there?
Just clown fish.
Wow.
Just clown fish.
Lots of fish around here.
Fit right in.
McLeodlaw,
MacLeoddashlaw.com.
It's the website.
Do we, any legal assistance over the weekend?
Did we run a foul of anything?
I've got the type of week ahead that I might need a family lawyer.
Right.
If I do all the things I'm supposed to do,
I might be moving out not by my own.
It has to.
Yeah.
Vacate the premise?
Dividing of assets if I can pull this shit off.
Yeah.
Locks are changed.
That's when I get back.
But I live here?
Not anymore.
Get a lawyer.
Well, I mean, by all means, let us in.
Yesterday at the ball diamond, cheer it on the nephew for a playoffs for minor ball, which is always exciting.
And I get a random text into a group chat.
Ah, I just had a buddy bail.
Does anyone want to go to the World Cup on Thursday against Qatar?
And you replied immediately.
And you replied saying, I'd rather go to see.
Canada versus
Qatar if you had tickets to that game
but I suppose if Qatar
is all you got. It's
either or you potato potato
so
paid too much for a flight but got the ticket for free
and now we've got a serious
challenge. It's expensive. A challenge being
because I have to drive at 5 a.m.
to Canada-ask us Friday morning.
So I need to be back at you know before 5 a.m.
Not easy to do
when you're good said Russport.
Well thing.
hence the family
law
I actually don't have any sympathy for it
no I'm signing up for it
one lap on earth
go get it
how or no again
have we ever talked about
I just
I want to say yes
we'll say no to the golf
the golf's not that important
I would go
I here's my own
man to be the move if I had
yeah
my own personal opinion
world cup
free ticket
unique event
yeah
drunk with
you guys again?
Well, probably good.
I was just going to stay overnight and enjoy the day.
Got a hotel room booked.
I'm screwed for that.
No, you're not.
What's, uh,
so what would the ticket of cost in the,
in the purchasing when the purchase happened?
Probably early on, I'd suggest around a thousand to two thousand.
I don't know exactly how good to see this, but.
Yeah.
Prices have gone up and then down and it's certainly over a thousand bucks.
Been some bitching and moaning.
Big time.
FIFA's getting a lot of heat for the way they did this.
When they originally released tickets,
they had these maps of the stadiums that, oh,
weren't quite accurate.
Oh, no.
And so it's like, oh, it looks like I'm in row one.
Well, they didn't mention that there's 10 rows in front of that.
Toronto Stadium.
Ticket pricing here is different than there.
And FIFA's getting a cut.
I mean, it's a smash and grab by FIFA.
They've added 18 teams, 16 teams to the tournament.
They're hosting it in a billion cities.
every ticket is incredibly expensive.
But that's kind of what they do.
So I'm just curious, the connection that you have,
did this person try and recoup any funds for the thousand plus?
Is it?
No, this was a bought a big block and a client bailed and there's a hole.
Wow.
Okay.
I can do that.
You weren't offering, hey?
He literally was stated.
Like, if anyone can get you.
here. It's yours for free.
I have to look around pinders. I know I'm getting
off camera, but I'm trying to look around pinders
so I can see Booms face because I'm
so you just, but I'm going to reiterate
the question. You didn't.
I did not off.
Let me say something.
I mean, these were expensive
tickets. I'd like to, what could I
please let me can I at least get this
gentleman off for a round that a very nice
golf course, uh, 15
holes a few weeks ago.
Did you pay for it for that? It was taken
care of. Right. Yeah. Well done, Ryan. Hey. Hey. It's where the slime and the
smart meet. That's the most impressive. It's the grease. Impressive. Amazing. Yeah. It's really.
So if you need me, I'll be going to Vancouver with no bags, a wallet, a phone charger, and a phone.
That's it. And are the bus at 5 a.m. 5 a.m. from where is it leave from Calgary? I'm going to
buddy driving. No bus this
year. I'm like, I'm going to
still, we can use my car, but I will not
be in a state to drive. You will drive
the vehicle. Oh,
this is, do you imagine
his good buddies that are on this golf thing?
They're saying what I'm saying.
Which is, don't bother.
Don't bother. Like, you're going to be
absolutely useless.
I always have fun at the World Cup. This is amazing.
Yes, but you, there's two ways
this goes. You continue to party or you
fall asleep on a fair way.
Well, you better find some
stimulants.
So what, and we'll move on because I don't know
if I actually give a shit. So the timeline
is, so you're flying out Thursday morning.
Thursday morning, at
like 11 something.
Can I jump in again?
He's trying to
make it. So in the group text,
he says, I got, I'm going
to watch the World Cup. We're a Cup.
but I'll do the show from the airport.
A bit of the show.
Right.
Pinderprop.
Again.
Hey.
Thanks, but no thanks.
I'll be doing the show from the air.
If you want Bobby Germany, I can line up Bobby Germany.
Are you saying?
We'll be fine alone.
Taking your laptop and the scarlet, you're taking the gear.
I don't take headphones, though.
Yeah, that's not bad.
What a, what a very considerate of you to.
Honestly, I, I hate this stuff.
It's the all around Greece.
That is.
It's the full experience.
It's not one of the thing.
It's death by a thousand cuts.
That's the Pender experience.
Yeah.
So it's leave at 11, game at 3, back on a flight by 10, land at 1 a.m. 5 a.m. gone, 36 holes Friday, overnight there, back Saturday.
Death.
Say nice things at my funeral on Monday.
I am not going.
Okay.
That's fair.
Jack will be there on behalf of you guys.
It will not be there.
And it was unique.
He'll kind of be missed a little in some areas.
Yeah.
well that's good that's good
Jack how was your weekend buddy
chill weekend I decided
that I was going to stay home I wasn't going to drink
anything I wasn't going to go out anywhere
I wasn't going to spend any money unless it was gambling
on sports
corners corners he said these two were talking
and I said corners
and what that's kind of drinking corners
oh yeah we all went in on eight and a half
corner kicks
this was the Australia turkey game
Saturday night and I'm like Jack you watching World Cup because I don't know what his interest
level is I don't know what he is he's like we got a mega bat on corners we need nine or more
corners in the game like corner kicks like the ball goes out off of the fender behind the goal line
goes to the corner and it was like I I've never watched a game thinking about god I need this
ball to fly off a defender it's insane it's a great bet it made the game very entertaining
that was a good game um yeah no it was chill you know it was invaded Vancouver
I don't know what to think about this Jack guy.
Like, how old are you?
27.
So you're 27.
You're,
you're mulling over not drinking and this and that.
It's like,
are you too young to start?
He's definitely got a midlife crisis happening here.
Or because you just bounce back at the age of 27 a little faster.
I think that's the thing, right?
Maybe go for 10 drinks,
not 10,000.
That's the thing.
That's where I struggle.
I'm either all in or all out kind of person.
I'm not,
I can't be in the middle.
This is true.
Unlike pender.
Yes.
Mellow and just flatlined.
Just steady eddy.
So like when I'm going out drinking, I'm going hard.
And I can't bounce back.
There's just, there's nothing.
This is going to put a major wrinkle in Hot Jack summer.
I'm nervous.
I think we're wasting.
I think we're wasting a lot of great material for days ahead.
Well, it's like it's up to Jack to provide fresh material.
That's true.
The material is going to be coming in at a lot less regular pay.
if he's off the sauce.
It's an idiot buddies story.
He's going to be texting the group chat again.
Does anyone know a good book?
Finish the one you've got.
Well, it is over.
Over.
Yeah.
The last couple of games,
thoughts in the cup final,
which came to a conclusion last night.
Deserving winner.
Deserving winner, for sure.
great great first few games no lead to safe it was fun that's a good final it's a solid yeah
we were hoping for more because we had well i don't know i'm speaking for you guys or speaking for myself
i was hoping for more of really tight and close and lead changes because up until the final it had been
a little bit flat yeah right and we got
We got a lot of good games.
I think if we'd have had good product
till then, we would be very happy
with all of it. But
still wanted a little bit more.
I think it was a great final. And I think
if you're asking for more than four, two-gold leads
blown, it's probably, it's just that
they all happen in the first four, right? We had a lot
jammed into the first three. Yeah. And the
Brandon Bussie story is an incredible storyline.
Stahl emerging is one of the most
unlikely consmite winners, like what,
12 points for the whole playoffs? Like, there was
there was Rod.
Like there's so many great storylines here,
but when you look at game six,
it was not close.
And that's fine.
It was a close-out game,
but it wasn't like the most
entertaining of the six or the last two.
It was the first four,
because we had crazy leads blown.
You know what the last game felt like?
It felt like Carolina in the first couple rounds.
Yeah.
First three rounds.
We're going to get all the scenes you need.
We're going to smother you.
Yeah.
Sorry.
You're not allowed.
They looked fresher than Vegas did.
They just puck battles, puck races, just everything was kind of going Carolina's way.
Congrats to Carter Hart for getting that four goals against thing out of.
Yeah, that did change eventually.
That was what game six.
He finally had that tucked in.
Yeah, finally got that figured out.
But yeah, this was, I don't know, I feel like there's probably times in the past where we've felt the same way.
But what it is is you just have to kind of tip your cap sometimes.
They went, they ran roughshod, 16 and 3.
It's incredible.
I went back to look, because we talked about, remember when L.A. went through,
you know, like shit through a goose.
They went 16 and 4 in 2012.
And that was impressive.
It was crazy.
The fewest losses this year, 16 and 3 since, in the 16 win format, since
Edmonton went 16 and 2 in 87, 88.
So tip your cap to something we have not seen in some people's lifetime kind of
Gary said it actually when he was handing out to hardware.
And I think we knew that they're good.
They're almost the Winnipeg of the 80s,
where Florida and Tampa Bay are in the way of them getting through.
And finally, they do break through in a way.
That is a hell of a team.
I mean, I guess they knew in the back of my head.
They were always competitive, but you forget,
they've won more freaking playoff games than anyone in the last age.
seven years in a row they've gone through round one.
And it's just there are a tiny market.
And we don't see a lot of them on the TV,
but that is a consistent, well-run at every level.
The southeast is an absolute slobinole-nockerdino.
Tampa, Florida?
That's the old division.
I know, Ryan.
It's okay.
I know.
But you're right.
It's another Sunbelt city getting to come.
Yeah.
And the only teams that stopped them from going on before.
I mean, I think the Rangers beat them the one year.
but I mean it was up against Stanley Cup champion caliber.
Yeah.
Same as what Toronto ran into just round zero later when Carolina got.
I mean, they've honestly, you look at the pivots they've made because you can talk about seven years in a row.
Like there's a lot of new faces here.
Like Taylor Hall wasn't around here forever.
Shane Gosses, there was a really nice value by.
Sean Walker, we sort of poked fun at because he had that huge year and got traded to Colorado.
He's a big piece of what they've done.
The Stan Coven deal only happens because Rantanin doesn't work.
They take some of those assets and get K.
and Miller, who was crucial.
A goalie, they claim off waivers,
wins the cup for them.
This GM has done a hell of a job,
and now it's three years in a row
where you look at the GMs at a won.
You're like, there's not a lot of mistakes
in the body of work the last five years for other than it.
And Freddie Anderson, speaking of goaltenders,
because everyone's a bussy, bust, bust.
Absolutely.
Freddie Anderson was a stunt.
He's winning the con smite.
12 and 1 to get to the final.
Incredible.
Like 12 and 1 and isn't in the,
when's that ever happened?
Yeah. And it was learned post game that it was a knee issue he was dealing with. They had drain fluid from it.
He tried to go and play through it game three. And that was going to be the end for him. And that's why you had Kachetkov backing up and skating and all that. And for Freddie, that's kind of that's, that was the thing. Is he going to stay healthy for the whole playoffs or not? The answer was no. But he got them to tied one one in the cup final with two losses along the way and then handed the reins to another guy.
We're bouncing all over.
One of the best post cup win or post cup victory interviews, Taylor Hall.
He was really good.
He was awesome because he answered the questions with thought and heart and feeling.
And he wasn't overcome by, you know what I mean?
Which is totally fine.
But I thought he did an amazing job.
What he had to go through.
He was part of a group because.
it's what the team is and then individually,
even though Taylor Hall,
this is only what a second year there,
it's his first cup.
There was a real,
like Alexander Carrier,
one with Vegas,
whatever it was three years ago,
but pretty much everybody else was getting their first,
their first taste of it.
So there was such an appreciation and appreciation,
but also a sense of relief,
that they weren't going to have to face another offseason of,
well,
you guys are good,
but can you get it done in the playoffs?
What was the,
one in 17 in their last 18 games in the conference.
All that stuff they've had to live with.
And there is some, on one side, you've got a team that gunned its head coach with two weeks left in the season.
And on the other side, you had had a team that's certainly been criticized for not doing enough.
You need to make some changes.
You got, are you bringing these guys back, running it back, that sort of thing.
And it finally does kind of pay off for them.
So it's, it's, I guess, a testament a bit to patience and stick to it of this from a managerial.
standpoint. But yeah, there's, you go up and down that roster. You know, Taylor Hall was, I didn't, I had to go and check, that's a seventh team. He's
played seven different teams. No one was saying, oh, well, now they're, that would push them over the top because they
know, Taylor Hall two years ago. That wasn't, you know, spare part from Chicago in a weird deal, right?
Well, it was this, it was the, it was the, it was another fact, yeah, the third party in that yeah, one deal to
eat some money. The rantan thing blew up in their face and that was embarrassing and even,
Rod was like, I wish we'd maybe talk to the guy if you want to stick around before you
trade for him.
There's,
there's been a lot of scar tissue, I think, there for these guys.
Yeah.
And you do have to feel good for them on an individual basis.
Like for,
for Stahl,
he'd already won one,
but man.
That's forever ago.
That's almost doesn't.
Yeah.
Even for a son like Jack to think back to when he was 18 years old.
Can you even remember that,
Jack?
No.
Yeah.
Jack was probably a little.
I can barely remember Jordan Stahl as a penguin.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We can kind of go all over the place.
You mentioned Bussie making saves.
Vegas did have a chance to make this thing interesting,
because it's not three nothing until the empty netter.
It's a one or two goal game for much of the first and second into the third.
It's really kind of one shot away from being another kind of a white knuckle ride.
But Bussie was great again.
He made the saves near the end of the first period.
as it's a gold mouth scramble.
There was the one that kind of chipped up,
went off the top of the net and he scooped it.
That's right.
He's, I mean, he's flailing for his life.
Break dancing.
And Vegas can't get a break, right?
It's old hurdle.
We were watching with the boys that they're like,
hurdle is he's not going to sleep.
I know.
Or overcome.
Like he had.
Right here.
The shot rocks,
he got to see onto his wallet.
How does he stop this?
It's going to get a little higher.
Rollin, thawks.
I said at that point,
hockey gods.
You know what I mean?
Both those teams are very good teams and it takes it.
But hockey gods have to be on your side.
You need that?
There was that a half second earlier in Vegas would have scored to tie the game,
whatever that was.
Game two or whatever.
Now it was game.
His last game, I think.
Five and four or five.
McNabb.
Hammers.
Four or five.
Anyway, but hockey.
us like that's that's the margin yeah that's the margin i think jack ikel agrees
jack ikel had a glorious chance in the third again i i i spent a good chunk of this
round telling you how great he was they needed at a certain point you need something out of
this is crazy my god it's a it's a two two nothing halfway through the third it's two
on oh ping how many times is going to miss that
shot.
Bussie's kind of there to his credit, but.
Wow.
But that's one of the top five centermen's in the game.
Yeah.
That goes into that.
That's whatever.
Most of the time that goes in for him.
Yeah, pretty crazy.
Such his life.
They were out of shape compared to Carolina, though.
I think everyone is.
I think that's the best conditioned team in the league.
And you also can't ignore the path, like when you only need 13 games to get to a cup final.
Because I always think about your team.
You guys were, like someone had dragged you behind a horse.
for a couple miles compared to the other team.
Like you've just been through more wars.
Vegas didn't shorten their series up until the Colorado one.
It was a long series against Utah, longer series against Anaheim.
All those add up.
Totally.
It's just the war of attrition.
Fewer games and it's the same every year, but the travel, you played Ottawa in round one.
So you made one trip to Ottawa, one trip to Philadelphia.
That's, yeah.
You beat Philly and Montreal and five.
so you went there and came home and then won.
Yep. So they only had to make a
a return trip this round.
That's crazy. That's actually
you talk about games played. I didn't even thought about
a number of flights and trips. Like that's significant.
Yeah, like how many nights were they at home
in their own beds with the
vast majority of the players? A lot. And not just like
when you're playing at home, there's a lot of nights
where they all stay in a hotel. I don't know if Carolina does
but they had weeks off.
They had 11 days between around 23.
11 days.
I would be curious when we talk about conditioning,
how hard they were going.
Because typically playoffs,
I've never had 11 days off in a playoff.
That's unheard of.
I don't know if anyone ever has.
But like, were they cranking up the,
conditioning or were they
were they raining in the horses
like there's because 99%
of the time you get close
to the playoffs practice
is
let's be careful we don't want to waste our energy
or were they going over this was a great
opportunity for to up
yeah is it like four days off if you don't get 11 days
off in the playoff or in the regular
season you know the other thing
even the other thing even the
break was less than that with kind of part
to that red is they were
talking about how players
didn't get to play, like Kotkenyemi didn't get into a game.
They were not injured at all.
Eilers missed one game,
Nekishen missed two games, and that's it from their regulars.
Everybody else played all 19 games.
Nick Deloree got into one game.
Mike Riley played two, and other than that,
it was the full roster, which is another thing you don't hear of.
Yeah, and Vegas actually was healthy when the series started as well.
Obviously, William Carlson's a massive deletion for them.
But Stone was hurt for the first two games at Colorado series.
Wasn't William Carlson out at the start of the playoffs?
He was.
And he missed a lot of games.
I think he missed 60 plus games this year as well.
Like he's just been a hurt bag this year.
But when he was back, that allowed them to load up that line where you could go stone,
Eichel Marner together and not feel like you were depleting your center death
because you still had hurdle and Theodore.
And then when he leaves, it's like, yeah, it's tough to load up that line without seeing it,
a shift or two later's.
Quick, you want to tell you about Capital Shev.
but he's over at Capitol.
I think Claire might be back today.
He had a big weekend on the go.
He had a big weekend.
Really?
He'd be like, unlike Jack.
My 50 year old friend would have been.
That's right.
How do you feel about that, Jack?
Capital Shoev, Capital Shave.competal 313103 Lake Fraser Drive in the southeast.
It's Calgary's truck destination.
Capital Shave keeps the line up deep, hardworking silver autos and Ceras to SUVs.
And everyday commuters, whatever it is that you need.
You may be heard about the $99 lease.
That is a real thing.
thing folks big inventory competitive pricing a team that knows how to keep it simple got a summer
road trip coming up is your rig gonna gonna be up for it too you're up for it is it rig up for
kind of place you walk in curious it leave confident it's trucks it steals it's a no nonsense
experience just the way calgary likes it maybe a corvette or two did you ever get over there
right you were gonna maybe slide by grab one i thought jack was going to go capital shev
capital shev dot ca is the website uh the two
two nothing gold jack i felt bad for our buddy you talk about being in shape or out of shape and
i remember uh cori sarich i forget which defense when he was talking about it it was one of the
his tampa mates and he says he's seeing elephants when you're so out of gas and you're so tired
um it's hanafin along the wall and then he comes to the front and the puck's there now it's
behind you i'm in the blue paint no i'm going this way oh boy those two are no good right here it's
15 right there.
He's got two guys.
I'll turn the puck over.
Okay, I'll get you.
Oh, it's behind me.
Spin, turn.
Oh, God.
Where is it?
No.
Oh, shit.
Oh.
Yeah.
It's just like,
I'm too tired to even break my stick,
but that's what I want to do.
That's what the hurricanes can do to you.
That line of Stankhoven,
Blake and Taylor Hall.
I think I saw it right this morning.
They accounted for 50%.
So half of their five-on-five offense.
That line.
Unreal.
The old playoffs are just the final.
The final, I think it was, yeah.
Because they were the same early on.
Rounds one or two, they dominated as well.
That line was awesome.
I think you said it.
I think Jennifer and Anderson were very good at me.
No, and I think those guys, they can do a lot in the sense that they're not masters of one thing,
but they can do a lot.
Like, you can use them on the penalty.
You can use them on PowerPlay 2.
They can play sizable minutes 5-on-5, but they don't, like, have a separating feature
or factor that you're like, wow.
Like they're just really three-fours.
They also really, like, I hate to bring it back to this.
It doesn't have anything to do with it.
But their worst playoff series together prior to this one,
which I don't know where you ranked this one,
was absolutely against the Oilers in 22.
Because everyone talked about the goaltending.
The old tenet was not good.
But you look at that series,
they got absolutely caved in playing together.
Well, and sometimes I don't know who they're playing against.
I don't remember bad.
I remember the Tannaven won arms that changed how, you know,
you were using him, he missed some time.
No, I'm just saying that if you're playing against McDavid and dry saddle,
you're like, okay, well, maybe that's okay.
Yeah, and not to take anything away from the stank,
Ovenhall, Blake, but.
Yeah, yeah, two superstars.
Right, yeah.
Oh, shit, McDavid ran my show.
Well, sorry, yeah.
So I guess naturally, it's like, okay, so is there a deal in a drawer?
Does Vegas have the balls to pivot?
Do they feel beholden to what could have been a promise at the time?
I don't think Vegas Airs, stuff like that.
Where are they out with Rasmus because they've got limited assets to spend?
And I think when he went to the Vegas after talking with Boston,
that was a very clear negotiation with the Bruins that allowed them to say,
here's what we think our market value is.
And if we come to Vegas, I know exactly what the Bruns will be offering July 1.
So do you make different money in Boston compared to Vegas?
Yeah, different tax areas.
You can adjust for that.
It's interesting.
You got valuation, essentially.
I lost the final street.
times I'm real good at it.
But we're
I guess what I'm saying is that
Vegas right now we're talking like they're terrible.
What the hell's wrong with these guys?
Right? Like if they win that series,
you're praising Hanifred and Anderson.
Now they had to play better. But
we can. We're talking about a fine line.
And I think that probably you have to step back for a while ago.
Let's. Yeah.
Breathe. Let's hit the strip. Let's get over our hang
over and then let's chat because right now I think you're terrible but we're also in the Stanley
cup final two and we don't know what guys are playing through it's a war to get as far as they did
and I think we liked them after games one and two I didn't I thought remember Anderson in one
and two Anderson anderson effed up yeah big time on anyway you make mistakes eeler's chip to buy him
or is that Hannah he had to get over took the fucking puck off from behind the nets that was a big one
Yeah, that pairing, and we'll move off because we don't need to pile on.
But the Hannafin Anderson, they were on for the 1-0 and 2-0 goals there last night.
So, but I agree with you.
I think that they need to just take a breath.
A lot happened in a short amount of time.
They were no good.
They fired a coach.
They brought in a guy.
They won some series.
Then they were a juggernaut.
And then it's this.
Well, then you're up for nothing and you give it.
Like, I know they win that game.
that was a
looking back, you're like,
oh, that's...
You didn't tuck you in a 4-0 lead.
Not a good sign.
Yeah.
And look, we're talking,
it's not about hanging guys out to dry,
but like,
are they content with their goaltending?
They're spending a lot of money on two guys.
Hart's going to be their guy.
Hearts can make a $2 million.
That's great.
Do they need another guy?
Do they, or Kier Schmidt,
do they try to get out of Aiden Hill's money?
Could have gone to him,
chose not to,
which wasn't surprising,
given the way Torts talked about him,
the relationship they have back to Philly.
For a team this close to win in the Stanley Cup,
there's a lot of question marks, though.
Yeah, because they don't know the caps piece Carolina does.
Carolina's got about $12 million to spend,
and everyone's under term.
Like, their UFAs are Deloree, Riley, Freddie Anderson.
But even if you don't compare it to Carolina,
I just talk about Vegas.
Do you look, I wonder,
do they look a little bit longer,
if there's nothing in a drawer, like you say,
on an Anderson?
Do they look at the age, the money that's committed?
Yeah.
Have to.
But they would have done that.
They're again, a week from now our conversation might be different.
Yeah.
But it's all,
McCriman's pretty smart.
Yeah, then this isn't surprising.
Are you staying here for less like everybody else?
Because if you're not, get the,
I think that's what it is.
I think Vegas is going to say,
hey, we know you like it here.
We like you.
Here's what we're going to offer you.
It might not have been the numbers that we were floating at the deadline,
but it's still good money.
If you don't want it, you can go sign in Boston,
who clearly has interest in them.
And that's the price you pay to be in the club.
because they're good.
They've been to three finals in nine years.
It's a great city.
And I don't,
I don't,
I don't know that losing Anderson
depletes them to the extent that they can't.
They need a top for a right shot guy,
but they'll find other ways.
Well,
we didn't give him the money.
So we go.
Yeah.
It's work on it.
Yeah.
And the Carolina thing is not,
you know,
compare in Vegas and Carolina's caps.
It's just a reminder that Carolina's not going away here.
Like,
they have all the money in the world to give.
Carolina might be the next,
we win three and,
in a row.
Or go to three
finals like Tampa.
You just watch them play
and you're like,
okay,
so like Jordan Stahl might,
you know,
he's clearly deep into the back nine.
Maybe he retires.
He's got one year left on his deal.
He probably plays one more year.
You probably bring back Freddie.
Yeah.
Especially with Bussie.
That was a tandem that worked.
And then it's like,
yeah,
the Nekishin needs a small raise
out of his entry level.
That's fine.
He's not a needle mover for that organization.
Yeah,
he's a top four guy probably.
And he's a young D man.
So he is top four.
I think so.
I don't even remember hearing his name.
Well, he missed the two games, as Dino pointed out, but what would it be?
You'd have like Cameron Miller, Chatfield, Nickishan, Walker.
He might be a five.
He might be a five, yeah.
But I guess, yeah, to your point, it's like, it's not a bunch of all-stars and some scrubs.
It's a pretty level group of six.
That would be the thing.
I guess, are you, it was kind of like we were talking in the Montreal series with Dobish.
are they've signed Bussie for three years.
So there is that.
You feel good.
This is where it is.
This is your guy now.
You just want a cup.
You feel real good.
I think you bring back Freddie and say this.
I don't think you do.
I think you've got Kachetkoff there.
I don't think you bring Anderson.
I don't think Freddie's that expensive either.
I think you sell Kachikov for all you can get.
Well, here's what I would do if I'm, well, Anderson is a free agent.
Yes.
I sign him and I trade Kachach.
Yeah.
If you think.
I think Kachetkov is better, or don't care.
That's an asset I can move.
I don't need three goaltenders.
Kachikko's had three years to pass him when he hasn't done it.
I'm kind of done it.
And there's enough teams out there that'll take a chance on a goaltender, I think, right now.
I just don't know, like, you literally found the formula that worked.
You had 35 starts for Freddie Anderson, 39 for Bussie, and you rode them when one was hot.
And then when it didn't work, you went to the, like, why would you mess with that, Dean?
Unless the ask is crazy.
They have the cap space.
Do you not think that a team will give Anderson some offers this summer?
I don't think he's going to get more than five or six on a short-term deal because he's old.
But he's also going to decide.
I think he wants to be there.
He gets to decide.
He gets to choose.
He gets to choose.
I don't think it's going to end up being a deal where you're like, well, we couldn't afford that.
I don't think that's the case.
I don't think he's going to get a ton of term or a ton of money.
Well, if he says, it's just good.
Bye.
Like, they're in a great spot.
Freddie, we don't want you to go.
We can pay you this.
Like, if you offered him five and a half.
half over two years who says no the player of the team well i don't know i don't know what he wants does he
want to be a number one that's what i want to play he might be writing this he's tried the number one thing
this is not a 25 year old yeah but it's still buddy wrong you're being night you're being naive i'm just
saying no one's going to offer him number one he's not number one he's not healthy enough he just went
13 and one whatever i think he's a very good goalie that can play 40 times a year you're telling me
that the edmonton oilers wouldn't view freddie anderson as a we need to get i don't
I think you go get them as a platoon guy,
which means you're not going to give him number one money.
I mean,
we're saying what's number one.
But I mean,
he's not going to get the $8 million of the old marks and swaymans,
the 9, the 10, 11.
No,
but you're also,
because he doesn't play enough.
But there's opportunity,
Ryan,
there's also the opportunity to play games.
But he doesn't want to play more.
He knows he's a hurt.
How do you know?
Look at his career, man.
This isn't a guy begging to play 60.
I think you're,
I think we're arguing over something that we have no information
on.
Yeah.
If a team is going to give him five years,
he's going to fucking take.
I agree.
Yeah.
Like,
I just think he's older than people think, too.
But there might be teams out that are going,
that was pretty good hockey.
He's got a great track record.
Yeah,
he might not be a number one,
but you know what?
We'll protect him.
And I think about Edmonton,
they will be good enough to get into the playoffs.
And we'll only play him 30 games and we'll pay overpay him.
But when the playoffs come and he can play like that,
I want him.
Yeah, I agree.
I also think that Carolina is a tough place to evaluate goalies too
because they're just, they're such good defensive.
You can't just assume you're going to plug and play someone else to get the same results.
They're so good defensively.
That's what they've done, though.
And we've talked to-
They plug and play.
I just don't think other teams can take one of their guys
that replicate the success, right?
So I'll be curious.
I think you're underselling the need by team.
Like, again, it's Edmonton.
I think he's your best platoon option available in the market.
And I'm not trying to say he's not as good as a one.
I'm just saying.
You picked him as a Kahn Smyth winner.
I'm not talking about his talent.
I'm not talking about his tellable.
I think when he's right, he's phenomenal.
What I'm saying is his availability will not get him to the point where he's getting paid
so much that he's going to leave for some spot where to be a one.
He's a platoon guy because he can't play 60.
Let's go look at his last five years.
You're talking about what he's going to hurt his salary.
You're talking about what he wants to do and what he's capable of doing.
There's a difference between whether he wants to or whether he can because of injury.
It's going to develop it because GMs know him.
He's not going to get a number one offer because teams understand he can't give them 60 games.
He might get an offer that is way longer and for way more from a team, though.
Like less money, longer term?
No, longer term, longer money.
Like you're saying two years in Carolina at five.
If he can get four years somewhere else at five, why would fuck wouldn't he do that?
Oh, sorry.
I just say, you could be absolutely bang on,
but I just, I think we're, I mean,
we were arguing about things again that we have no incident.
No, it's just if you went over the last decade and looked at similar profiles,
it would be uncommon to see happen what you're suggesting.
It's certainly not impossible.
There are teams desperate for goaltending.
What examples would you give?
Do you have any?
Of like an older guy getting huge term.
How old is he?
Let's actually talk about.
He'll be 37.
36.
So he'll be 37 at puck drop.
That's why I don't think there's a five-year deal for him.
He's a big boy.
He's not a model of health.
Is Bob back in Florida?
Bob's a free agent and that's going to be interesting because he said there's one place he wants to play
and Florida knows that and they're playing hardball.
Like I get what you're saying.
If I'm Carolina, I would like to have him back and keep him at, like I get it.
But I don't know what he wants.
If he's looking at Bussie who's going to be the guy now,
Are you happy at this?
So I'm just, I'll be a backup and I'll stay here.
Or does he look at it and say, well,
I don't see.
He's going to get the games.
I want to try and still play.
So what will be convinced that Bussy gets more starts than he does?
I miss that.
Is it not a P-toon?
Like, Bussie's 27.
You hadn't played in the league.
So you're kind of saying you're handing over the,
you think that.
I don't think the razor is a perfect two horse stable here.
This is not a one-two saw it.
Like, this is a, there's a few,
you're seeing more and more around the league and Nudels talks about it.
Like, yeah, there's some guys that are hard ones that are going to give you 60 to 70 games,
your Vasselovsky's, your HeloBucks, but more and more, you're looking for a capable and competent tandem.
And this one worked well.
They won the bloody cup.
Are him and the Eadler's good buddies?
Danes.
That doesn't mean, F all.
I mean, they might have come up a little bit together with world champs together.
That is true.
I wish I didn't walk on that.
That was a good clip.
Yeah.
Well, yeah.
God.
Yeah, Bossy's got the three-year deal worth 1.9 million per
that kicks in here.
That's crazy.
There's plenty of,
he just won the cup.
He comes in,
when three in a row,
shut out.
He's 27.
His career is yet to be defined.
Yeah, is this the fashion of the pen?
Are you a guy that's just hit the launch pad and you're taking off?
Yeah.
Or are you the first base?
X rocket ship.
Like it's not, it's not a great, just the name that always pops into my head is anti-Ni.
Wins a cup with Chicago.
You don't remember him as a all-time great.
No, he was in the net when Chicago, a great team won that cup.
Well, and another name to think of is Tim Thomas.
Like he doesn't make his debut until late 20s, early 30s.
He's over in Norway forever, Finland, excuse me, Finland.
And it's like, okay, is this a blip or is this guy now just going to be a one for a long time?
I don't know.
Like, that's kind of why you got the contract he got
because he wanted security and the team's like,
we're not sure where he are,
but we think he could be something.
It's kind of the coolly spot here.
He's 29.
Had played what, four to six games?
Cooley, 29?
Yeah, he played six games in the league
before he got to Calgary.
Oh, he's terrible.
And then you're like,
Thomas did go on to win like two Veznas though.
I'm not saying Thomas does a good.
I'm saying when he arrived,
you're wondering,
is this a flash in the pan 30-year-old
or is this a megastead?
He turned out to be one of the greatest goalies of the era,
for sure.
Like he was a rock star.
Cups and All-Stars.
Like, he was awesome.
Also good,
but that's what they have.
But, you know,
Devin Cooley's emergence,
isn't that different for Tim Thomas's?
It's like,
oh,
that's a really good year,
but can you stack four of them
like Tim Thomas did?
No.
Probably not.
And that's why they get Bussy
the contract they did it,
because they don't think he's Tim Thomas.
They think he's a guy
that could probably platoon.
Looked really good in the final.
Or he took the money.
And they're like,
well, yeah,
he just clearly didn't have the leverage.
You get more than that or he would have.
Or you're 27,
you're going,
holy Christ,
Two million.
Yeah, I'll take that.
Thank you very much.
Yeah.
But it wasn't like, okay, he's a star.
Like he's going to go get his five, six millions of them.
No, like it's, I think there's a lot of similarities to Cooley.
I think Rod's in the gym right now.
Oof, Rod.
Or you think Rod let's sweating out the booze.
It's pretty dialed in.
Maybe he's working.
Maybe he's focused on next year.
I hope that guy enjoys a drink because there's some of us that don't need any excuses to enjoy a drink.
And then there's others that he's like, yeah, I didn't leave my hotel room.
I don't know about distractions in Vegas.
What are they?
He's not a beer drinker from what, uh, what we hear.
Get him some mixed drinks.
Get him some champagne, Jack.
He's not into that.
Everybody loves Rod.
The shot, the one shot obviously where he throws the cup up and then, and then grabs it in
the bear hug.
This, this photo.
I mean, yeah, he's an animal.
He's, he's, he's an animal.
The facial expressions that he's got in a.
game during a game, the whole thing.
He's wound extremely tight this dude.
Well, we got him. Do you see him in the locker room after?
Oh, yeah.
We got to get the shoveler to avert her eyes here.
She liked around the bod before. Look out here.
They are so happy for him.
They love that guy.
The players love that coach.
And you can't, like, it's an amazing thing, retro.
You've been in a ton of rooms.
Got that one.
You earn that kind of respect from your players.
And it's not just by being in the gym and that, but.
Rod goes back to his playing career to earn all that.
Yeah.
It was the same approach when he played.
There was no shifts off.
It was no, it was, I remember guys talking about his workouts during his season.
Yeah.
He's working on this muscle and this muscle today.
What?
Yeah.
How do you have that guy's a coach?
And when you ask you to work harder, you don't do it.
You do it.
Or you're gone. You don't fit there.
Love the shot of him and Stahl.
Because yes, Stahl want a cup and Brindemore want a cup.
But those two, they, they have been kind of synonymous.
And even though that cup for Stahl comes with the penguins,
Stahl's been there forever.
And for these two, I don't know if you can appreciate the ups and the downs and that moment.
that is beautiful i think it is beautiful and when you heard stahl talk about it it's interesting
like he clearly feels he talked about building it right don't i mean like if we'd have won here
in calgary that year that team was not built we the lightning rod hit and we're way
only hit at once yeah they have boom stages and stages and then kicked in the nuts and back
have to go up against Ford.
Oh shit.
Up against 10.
Holy.
Like we're real.
That's not a sweep.
That's not a sweep.
No,
it was a sweep.
Right?
Like they've built it.
And I think the stall was part of that.
I think he's very closely intertwined with what's happened.
And how satisfying.
Satisfying it would be for Rod.
He's your captain.
He's aging.
And you stick with him.
And then he's played some of the best hockey he has in the last five,
10 years, using him on faceoffs,
using him in all these situations.
I, well, Stoll comes on to take the draw.
Now he hops off and lets another player,
like using him and then he comes through with the cup final that he does,
whatever was, six goals in the series.
And then wins the Kahn Smythe, the oldest ever.
As a coach, you have to just be bursting inside that this guy that you have stood behind
and you felt, I feel like this is the guy.
I think I'm right.
I feel in my heart that I'm right.
I sure hope I'm right.
And then that happens.
Like that's, again, you talk about sometimes sports is such a beautiful thing.
That's a beautiful thing.
This was Emily Kaplan on the ice with ESPN, the post game last night,
talked to Rod the Baud.
And as you might expect,
it was not about him.
It was about the players.
Is that not in there, Jack?
No, sorry, boom.
It'll get there.
I'll throw it in there.
I'll throw it in there.
There wasn't a guy that didn't talk about him.
About Rod or the camp?
Rod.
Yeah.
Should be.
Leader of men.
And I don't know.
You'd be able to speak to it.
But when you talk about the captain coach bond,
especially when it's a former player,
cut from the same cloth,
hard workers,
blue collar,
that's a tight bond.
I think they just see eye to eye on.
Totally.
And you have to develop that relationship
with your,
Yeah, I said they feel trustworthy enough to come talk to you about anything.
Clearly they're that.
And I think we underestimate how good they've been.
I do, I do.
Like, I'm blown away by the fact that it's like, oh, yeah, these guys.
50 wins, 50 wins, 50 wins, 50 wins.
Every year.
Yeah.
Win the division, win the division, win the division.
Yeah.
And the thing with that kind of respect is, well, he's done it as a player.
He's in the weight room so you can be all that.
He'll do it.
He's not going to ask you something.
He won't do it.
or hasn't done that sort.
But there also has to be the reward to the carrot.
You know what I mean?
It's you can't just continue to ask and not have some give back from the coach.
There has to be some of that as well.
He's asking and he's very,
he's demanding and all of that.
And he'll, yeah, he'll do it.
I know.
But you also have to.
Because that message gets tired.
I don't think it's,
I know what you're saying and I agree with you.
And I don't think it's that type of a relationship.
I don't think Rod's in there.
saying you guys do what I do.
I think those guys look and go,
huh, I should be doing it.
If he's doing it, I better look in the mirror and go,
am I as dialed in?
Like my guy, this guy that's treating me like gold,
Hall said it.
It's nice to have a guy that trusts in you and
want what's best for you.
I'm paraphrase, I can't remember the exact terms he used,
but believe in you.
Rod gives all the,
these guys all of that.
And I don't think, like,
Darrell or Mike,
it's not a shot.
They'd be in there saying,
you got to fucking do this.
I don't think Rod's in there,
crack in the whip saying,
he inspires them.
He doesn't demand it, right?
That's a good way of saying it.
Yeah.
Like you look at him and you're like,
he's got a ring and he won here.
And I saw how he played.
A lot of that isn't God-given gift.
It's just will want and work at it.
And this team,
I forgot I was going to bring.
There's no stars.
None.
They had one player close to a point of game.
I think it was Aho was one point.
I don't know how many 50 wins in a year.
Whatever.
That's not based on, it's not a cheap shot,
McDivit and Drysidal carrying you to victories.
That is a group of guys with the same intensity
and the same way we're doing this over and over.
Not for a season, not for a playoff run,
for almost a freaking decade.
For almost a decade where they've just,
No, this is how we play.
And they've swung and missed on trying to get big names there, big time.
It certainly is a nice tax climate and it's a warmer place, but it's not been a sexy destination.
They've had to grind to get talented guys there.
And, you know, Eilers was finally one where they broke through and it kind of felt like he was a second tier free agent, not, you know, the superstar that they've been chasing in the rant and deal and others.
They tried to get Mitch Marner.
He said, no, he wouldn't wave to go there.
that looks
well
rich yeah
who knows
I mean if that happens
they don't have
stankhoven and Miller
I don't know
it's an alternate universe
but
don't rewrite history
this hasn't been a place
players have been keen
to go to necessarily
yeah this is not Vegas
like it's kind of
you know
Columbus South in a way isn't it
smaller market
not a big hockey place
fervent fan base
albeit you know
you would probably be anonymous
walking around town
not going to be on TV
you wouldn't be as big as the college basketball
No, just like you're not as big as college football
in Columbus.
Found it. Here's Rod O's game on the ice with
Emily Kaplan.
Like, sticking with it, we know what we had here,
and I did for sure, and the guys believed in it,
and that's the thing. It's all about leadership.
I'm so happy for George's Paul.
People got to see what I've known for forever,
what kind of player he is, what kind of leader he is,
and, I mean, here we go, he's finally rewarded.
When that clock finally hit zero,
I know you had them playing until the end,
What were you feeling?
Well, the amp you matter, right?
That's just like, holy macro, this is going to happen.
I mean, we were in it a little bit at the end.
Obviously, it made huge saves, bust.
It's such a great story with this team.
I mean, he dig into it.
It's amazing, and I'm just really proud.
Emotions? Like, who are you thinking of what are you feeling?
Well, there's so many.
You can't even put into words.
I was thinking about my dad who passed away two years ago.
He would love to have been here.
My mom's at home.
She couldn't make it.
She was under the weather, like, but my kids are here.
You know, I'd come full circle.
come full circle and I'm just I'm overwhelmed to be honest.
What was the assistant coach he hugged?
Daniels?
The reason I ask is because he was at my first training camp in Florida.
That coach?
Yes.
As a player or coach?
He got traded to Carolina and he played a couple of years there and he went into,
I'm sure it's him.
I mean, that's a long time ago.
And I got CTE, but.
I'm trying to find...
I'm just pulling up to this.
It's crawling here. Sorry, give me a suck.
Who's the assistant AI this?
AI, yeah.
Jeff Daniels?
Yes.
Yes.
That was him.
Okay.
Other assistant coach Tim Gleason.
Gleeson played a bit.
Oh, he played there.
Yeah.
Paul Schoenfelder is the goalie coach.
That was obviously a huge moment in the series where they switch in hindsight,
a knee injury, maybe an easier call than what we were told at the time,
but him really rest, but.
He had Bussie ready.
He hadn't played in two months.
Yeah.
How long before Jordan stalls on that stuff?
If he wants.
Yeah.
Any stall.
We'll take an Eric too.
Well, they showed Eric in the stands.
It was like the brothers down there.
He looks like he still playing.
Still working out.
Yeah.
Same with Rod.
You're like, how many, he had the stall around the same line?
Like, you see him shirt off.
You're like, how is got to be.
How was he on the dot tonight?
85%.
Crazy.
How good shit.
Oh.
Maybe more than that.
Maybe more than that.
There, as.
as all it kind of happens
once the
cup is handed out you hear
oh did you hear about this story or this other
story or whatever
there was one that kind of started
at least I was reading about it this morning
and I'm just going with this blind
I put a clip into the
into the drive there Jack
about about Brindamore
and go figure it's got to do with
with fitness and training
but this is the Kane's training staff
talking about something that Rod put in place
this year
Teacher coach with sarcasm.
I've made a career ever.
I think it's all personality stuff and what comes down to relationships,
but you know guys would be in their suits, leaving.
So I get a lift in your suit.
I was going into the shower asking guys
if they were gonna lift after they showered.
Post game if we're gonna work out,
we got 20 out of 20 guys in there.
We call that our blue collar press.
I grew up in a blue collar neighborhood.
Maybe one of the most important blue collar jobs is the mason.
The mason builds the foundation of the
or buildings, your homes, and what have you.
And basically what we ask guys to do is do one press
and think of those blue collar moments that got them here.
And somebody that's helped you get here.
Thank you, Bill.
Thank you.
So it's the blue collar press.
That's how they laid that out.
They, I guess, let the boys in or whatever.
The cinder blocks 35 pounds, which is the same weight as the cup.
So every time you lifted that thing,
we wanted you ready to lift the cup come June.
I think Rod told him that game six pregame.
It's pretty cool.
You want to go if you've done it.
You've been doing it all year.
You're ready.
You've lifted it.
Going to the shower, are you going to lift in your suit after your shower?
Are you going, how's that going to work?
So congrats to the to the cup champs.
You know, the other thing too, you talk about a team and guys picking up the slack.
That hall, Blake, that line.
It allows Aho to sleep at night, right?
Because he had been criticized.
And Svecicov came through, right?
He started scoring some goals, some empty nutters, but he was scoring.
Jarvis was snake bit in the first few series.
He was feeling the pressure until that goal against Montreal.
Ajo still led the team in average ice time throughout the playoffs.
He was a 20 minute, 20, 49, every night had 12 points, but he was out there.
I didn't realize with Jackson Blake.
He led the canes.
He had two points last night, goal in an assist.
was the leading score for Carolina playoffs,
which I would not have guessed.
Fourth rounder in 2021,
not too shabby,
had 17 goals and 34 points last year.
This year came through with 22 goals in 81 games
and just put up 20 points in 19 in the postseason.
So they've got cap space and they're not top heavy.
They've got balance and they've got some young guys.
The kitchen made his debut last spring.
Remember those
playoffs where he came in
over from the road
They're not like
Oh we've already
Emptied the barrel for prospects
No you've got good young players
It's not about their
It's about their culture
100% yeah
And you know we should maybe apologize
Saddle Dome Riseway place
We kind of laughed when they're
The poho
Whatever you call them
Talk about culture a lot
There's a lot of culture talk
The difference being that their culture
Is winning
On a consistent basis
So it's not the poo-pooing of the actual culture conversation.
It's that no, no, no, your culture has to have success if you want to praise it.
No, and I'm with you.
Like it's less about, oh, we don't believe the culture matters.
It's more like, well, you realize all these good players are going to be gone by the team.
This is good again.
Well, not even that.
Right.
It's if your culture is producing success, okay, then we should praise that.
You're not, yeah.
Like Blake Coleman working really hard.
If he leaves, you're hoping that it rubbed off on someone else.
If he just leaves and he was a hard worker the whole time,
Anyway, that's not culture.
That's a hardworking guy that left.
When you're throwing up 50 wins, you can trumpet.
Easier to buy in.
Your culture is a big part of why you're doing it.
Now, I don't know.
We can, what time is it?
Let's go out.
Oh, that's late today.
Really, a couple weeks of this, but, um, yeah, we'll save it for tomorrow.
We'll save nothing pressing.
Happy for.
Well, then what the hell are we going to talk about?
Friday?
Outdoor dental.
Oh.
Oh, yeah, tell you about outdoor dental.
Tell you about snoring.
Well, it's snoring.
It's everything over there.
It's that Salea Laser.
It's been a game changer for Dr. J Patel and outdoor dental.
Outdoor.com.
You see it there.
That's the website.
It is the, the Salia does kind of does it all there.
You see this man right there, right there.
Pup.
Yeah, got it.
Thanks.
They've got the sedation dentistry.
They've got the 3D printing for convenience, efficient dental appliances.
night guards, visaline, that sort of thing.
They're doing all that.
The Invisaline, you want to take care of your jibs?
Straighter teeth, easier to clean, reduce plaque, build up, all that sort of thing.
They got that going for you.
And yes, sleep after your treatment, the snoring treatment with the solea laser.
It's a 5, 2 15 minute treatments.
You go, you get it done, you come back and last up to a year.
You sleep better, you sleep deeper, better sleep, longer sleep, you're more productive, you're
happier, all that sort of thing.
And most insurance plans are going to provide coverage for that.
Not too bad.
Learn more.
Book a consultation at outdoor.
That is the website.
And, uh, oh, summer's coming.
Maybe you got some extra time on your hands.
If it's, oh, I'm just so busy.
I can't.
I just so busy.
Now, you got time.
You got time.
Now, jibs, that technical term you're going to find Dr.
Jus?
That's right.
Just you can go in.
You know, my, I,
this jib over here.
My jibs are a little crooked.
Yeah, I can see.
If you're referring to him as jibs, it's not a, it's not that straight.
It's not a compliment.
No.
too.
That's your jibs.
Maybe.
Maybe so.
Canada one, Dean.
Or tied.
Drod.
True.
They drawed.
Drod?
Yeah.
Tye?
You bet.
I was a little worried.
There was some nerves.
I missed the start.
I turned it on.
It was like, it was 1-0, Dean.
1-0.
Right.
They kept missing grade A chance.
This is a crossbar.
Oh, I miss the,
the fellas.
You can't be leaving points here.
At least get one.
I did think back over the weekend.
Because you let Ryan know at some point
how big of a soccer and footy fan you are.
That's right.
You've been to a bleep of questioning your soccer love.
And you asked him, well, have you ever been to the World Cup?
And he said, well, have you ever been to the World Cup?
And he told you to shut the F up.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I got to tie him up to this.
Yeah, but I paid.
I paid for my flight.
Oh, God.
I think, yeah, the badge of honors.
I really can't take, oh, I mean,
these tickets are so expensive.
I can't take it for free.
No, please, let me give you something.
I'd show you guys reprimanding me for not going to L.A.
to watch the Blue Jays in the World Series.
And I'm like, maybe they were right.
I'm not bad at you for going.
I'm saying that you're a cheap prick.
Yeah.
That was also wrapped around a very busy time for you, as I recall.
Correct.
Yeah.
Lots's going up.
You were Nashvilleing and other things.
There was a lot happening.
Yeah.
I think you did consult McLeod Law and their legal advice was, don't do it.
Yeah, hopefully they got the file on hand.
Yeah.
Just lay a low, let this blow over.
We just goes back.
Oh, so it was just October of last year, Ryan.
That's about that long.
long ago.
This.
Okay.
Well, we can work through that.
I get you in here.
It is time with the Pinda report.
Our friends at Village Honda have a Father's Day gift idea for you.
Consider Father's Day handled.
It is a Village Honda detailing kit for just $22.
Plus GST.
You can help Dad keep his vehicle looking its best.
Village Honda, your dealership for life in the Northwest Auto Mall,
and Vic licensed dealership.
and online at village honda.com.
While the champs, we crowned a couple on the weekend
and two incredibly deserving
teams that will go down in history.
Names on the cup for these fellas.
The Keynes did it. First time since 06.
And that's the Gretzky photo right there.
Get the boys around.
Are Jarvis's buddies in there?
Not yet.
I don't know if you guys noticed, but Jarvis has friends.
The cheer for them.
Yeah, the Stanley Cup's own Twitter account was saying,
we're hanging with Team Jarvie.
That was from the middle hours of the night last night.
So they're there, Florinette from Winnipeg.
Three nothing's your final.
Bussie was great.
The empty netter was the ceiling moment.
That's what Rod talked about.
What did you say?
It was going to happen.
He named the fish.
Holy mackerel.
It's going to happen.
Yeah.
There's Rod looks familiar.
A little more formal on the left.
Bear or fish.
You know, here's the thing.
Like, you know how we feel in Calgary about Lanny?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This guy's coached and captained your team.
Imagine Lanny was coaching the last decades and had won the only cup you had.
Yeah.
It's incredible.
He's not in the hall, but he may be now.
I think he's hard to keep out at this point.
Right?
You win as a player and a coach,
and you look at this body of work that he's put together as a head coach.
He's deserving of a large pay raise if his owner wants to give him one.
Ditto for Eric Tulski, the general manager who's done a great job.
Rod's kids actually playing in the HL final right now, Skyler.
He was originally an Oilers draft pick in the sixth round
and played four games at the Keynes this year.
Their affiliate Chicago is down two nothing to Toronto.
So Rod might be on a plane to watch some more hockey
as the wolves are down 02 to the Marleys.
Crazy.
you.
Crazy, crazy.
Crazy.
Crazy.
What else we got on Rod?
I feel like we got some more Roddisms in here.
No more Rod.
No more Rod.
We'll keep moving.
Let's move to the Danes.
Oh,
Ah, yeah, sure.
We'll start with Sebastian Ajo.
There's the brick workout you referenced.
Oh, there it is.
You mentioned that Keynes found out before the final from Rod Brindamore.
That brick, same weight is the Stanley Cup.
You guys think you're ready?
You're not sure?
Well, I know you're ready.
You've been lifting it all year.
God, I love Gene.
Gah!
Maine Jane Prince of pay with the scoop.
Love to see it.
The Danes, maybe they don't like each other,
like Rhett and I, despite being...
But they sure look like they like each other.
They might go along.
Freddie Anderson and Nikolai Eilers
united this season after the free agent
arrival of Eelers from Winnipeg
and two huge figures in the playoffs.
Eelers ends up with a ton of points in the final.
It was Jordan Stahl.
He got the headlines, but he was chipping in.
That line came back to life.
And Freddie Anderson,
an incredible 12 and 1 to get them to the final
before a knee injury sidelined him and Bussie took over.
Is that a bit of a cheap shot at Vegas?
Like, why is that need to be part of?
What was it?
Oh, there is the Lars Ellers also the only other day in that's won a cup.
He did it against Vegas.
Of course, he was on the OV Washington team.
Yeah, that last six, I don't know if it's.
A little salt in the moon there.
Yeah, that's NHLPR getting a little salty.
Salty.
Euler spends 10 years in
Winnipeg, signs a six-year deal,
$8.5 million.
Looks good.
A year in the regular season,
26 goals, 71 points,
and then nine points in the final
for a cup win.
He fits what they do.
We'll keep moving.
Three losses is pretty epic.
You talked about it, Dino.
Got to go way back in time to find a team
that won a cup with fewer than three losses.
Even some teams we talk about
as some of the most dominant ones we've seen
had more than three losses
in the Stanley Cup final.
it's an incredible mark that's
damn impressive.
1988
the last time.
Someone did it with three or last.
That was the oilers.
That was the last year,
Wayne was there,
if I'm correct.
Messier Wayne final cup.
Oh,
and this is still going.
The canes haven't lost
back-to-back games.
Those bastards were a party
on a New Year's Eve,
I could tell you.
When did they come through here?
Because they lost one here
after playing an episode of the day before.
They were a dud here.
And they were just like,
yep,
this is a scheduled loss.
we're not going to like that is the least Carolina team dean they've been out for us all year
I know making us look bad we get points they take away our first rounder
they're social yeah uh 2 16 to 3 teams next did it as well dominant runs terrific playoffs
tough to argue the best teams didn't was real last name I thought a whino was a bit of a drunk
he might be that too maybe it's the perfect name for them and on the road
obviously they they won two in Ottawa they won two in Philly
They won two in Montreal, and they won two, I think.
They went two in Vegas.
At one loss for the road.
Yeah.
That makes Jack.
Great.
Well, they would have lost what?
They split.
Oh.
Doesn't matter.
Next.
Next.
Yeah, there is that whole Flames first round of thing.
So the last two years, the flames have had conditional picks.
Who gives a shit?
The worst it could have gone last year was picking lost in the first round of Florida
won the cup, check.
The worst way this could go would be Vegas getting all the way to the final and not winning
the cup, check.
Let's stop relying on other teams winning cups for good things to happen.
Let's start winning your own cups.
Yeah.
And you know what?
It's nice when conditions hit, but whatever.
I don't think anyone's regretting the Rasmus Anderson deal right now, nor than Noah Hanifin one.
You're sitting on a pile of first.
Time to turn those into players.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Off season.
Draft.
Here's the draft.
26th.
So suddenly guys were nine days away,
11 days away, excuse me,
from round one of the NHL draft.
There's a little something on Bet365.
Who's field?
Justin.
Who does he play for?
Bears.
No, he got traded.
Chiefs?
He was Jets for a while.
I didn't even know he played hockey.
I thought the odds would be bigger for him.
Here are the...
So you think McKenna's...
At least we like the 10 at 1.
Possibly going on.
Good thing I'm sitting down.
Yeah, that's a stunner in it.
I think by tomorrow we'll probably have NHL futures for next year, Stanley Cup as well.
I was peaking because it doesn't take them long, get that stuff ready.
More mocks, more results.
Vigo Bjork starting to be a name.
We hear more and more after another impressive portion of his year,
playing with the men at the World Championships.
And Yuhu Pipporainen, which is an excellent name.
It is.
I don't know if he's going to go to hockey, but you hoiperainen?
you people reinan one more time
I think I got burnt it your turn
I'm good okay okay moving then
a lot of them also on that mock draft
so so mock draft for flow hockey
yeah familiar of course with flow hockey
well cam Robinson you'd know and then who's the other guy
that was writing for the show
friend of the show two guys that I think were familiar
with this prospect guy this I think is his name
they had
and Carl's go right ahead
Are you seeing more of this now?
I'm seeing some Vigo Bjorka.
I feel this is kind of...
I don't see anything because I'm not on this stupid shit,
but I've talked to some people.
There's some helium time between when kids seasons end
and junior wherever they're playing.
And then Central Scouting puts its list out and it's,
okay, this is, well, man, I'm seeing some other things
where Vigo Bjork has moved.
Well, what's happened?
Well, nothing, but just more time to think about it.
But I do see that, and maybe it's because of these smaller guys having success for Carolina.
It's like, well, if these guys, Stankhoven's a dog and Blake, this beagle Bjork, small guy, but he's bigger than Stankovans.
So kidding.
I don't know.
I don't think his world champions has heard of stock either.
Yeah.
It's a men's tournament.
So to your point, we do see sort of these fabricated rises where it's like no one's played hockey for two months and things are moving.
But at least he has played recently.
And I think if you are concerned about the size, him having a good world championships against men, not his, you know, brethren of the same age, that's a good sign.
So I understand the helium.
It's also a playmaking center.
There aren't many in this draft class.
So we'll see.
That said, I'm kind of taking the piss out of guys.
I do wonder.
I really am.
Legit option.
Depending on what, like, say for example, if the flames are really, if, if Carls is their guy.
Yeah. But if he goes at five and they're looking at Verhoff or maybe somebody that's, that they view, do you pivot to that guy?
Because I think there is some intriguing stuff about Bjork.
The other thing to remember here is that like Connie's in a room building a list with scouts and they have different regions and they've seen, you know, one guy might have seen this guy 30 times.
The other guy's only seen him twice.
I was over in Europe. I saw Bork play, whatever.
Hey, idiots. I just saw to this. So I'm an idiot too.
You know who's a scout in Europe?
Marcus Nielsen?
Oh, Marcus.
What does he know about Swedish forwards?
I don't know, but he texts me about being in town.
We should get together for some drinks,
which I'd love to, but Jack says,
Jack says you're going sober now.
I bet you should we get him on the show?
Is that kind of what you're?
We had him a couple of sessions.
We should talk to him about Vigo Bjork.
Yeah.
If we're interested, Vigo Bjork,
I feel like he might have some insin.
Let's see if he has some Vigo Bjorkins.
I'm not going to reach out, but go ahead.
Right.
I'll go for drinks with him.
That's shocking.
And then not share what he tells me.
Yeah.
Team player.
I'm not a reporter.
I'm not a reporter.
You hear it all the time.
Hey, in the room.
I'm going to take a, don't take cheap shots.
What?
I would say it would probably be fair to suggest that within the flames room when they're making
list, there would be guys saying,
Carl's is the best deed available here.
There's going to be guys saying, no, Verhof's the guy.
So there's going to be someone saying, Smiths, we really want.
And there's going to be a guy that's going to be a guy that's going to bego Bjork.
There is.
I think that's part of this process that we just, oh, the team's going to have a list.
But there's guys pounding their fist on the table for different players here.
I actually think that nobody that I've talked to or heard talk about Vigo Bjork has questioned anything he does.
Yeah.
Like, oh, he's short.
Well, who the, it's not even a considerate.
most people you hear talk to a couple
I will not name names he he's a hell of a player
I think there's interest there
it's and I think Dito you nailed it like who's left
when they get to six versus Bjork
because I think there probably are there might be one or two D
that they'd take ahead of them but if those guys are off the board
maybe it is yeah and then it comes up well is he gonna be a number one
center you're not drafting him
there aren't this goes back to let's trade up to get McKenna
great now you've got McKenna and less players you're not a
player away. You're not a player away.
If you could add significant quality at the expense of quantity, sure, but I just don't see
huge separation from 1, 2, 3, from 4, 5, 6 in this draft clause.
And I wonder, because they've rejigged the teams, you'd have different names coming off at different
times. It sure seems like they've placed such an emphasis on skill the last little bit.
Yep. You know, going with Gridden late and...
Witten back.
I do really wonder if Bjork is a name to really.
And Connie hates defensemen.
It's easy to find it.
It's easy to find it.
Bjoric isn't, he's not a Russian defenseman.
He's not American.
So it's no mere man of.
No.
But fingers crossed.
Flames Nation has more on what's going on around the flames.
Mailbag time.
A lot going on surrounding the draft.
There's also qualifying offers to after that.
Do you bring back the Lombard beacher?
How do you bring back?
Olifshins of the world?
No, no, no.
I don't, I say yes.
Business to be done.
Yeah.
But I don't think there's any shocks or surprises in there.
We'll keep moving.
World Cup.
We got some action today.
We're already underway.
Spain and Cape Verde.
What does Verde mean as a salsa bunny?
Close.
There is salsa Verde.
Yeah.
It's very Verde.
Where is Cape Verde?
You're the Atlas.
I'm pretty sure that's an island in the Atlantic, but I could be wrong.
Maybe it's the Pacific.
I'm green with it.
Ben, me. I'd love to be there.
Spain heavy favorites this morning. This one's already underway. We'll see if we can't get a result
here right now. Are we going to play the game?
Oh, we should play the game. Belgium and Egypt. That's your matinee this afternoon.
Belgians are heavily favored there. Saudi Arabia against Uruguay, the South Americans
heavy favorites and Iran favored over New Zealand against the Kiwis.
7 o'clock is your late game tonight. As for results, right now today, still nil.
nil between Spain. Oh my
what? And Cape Verde, they're favored by
like two to three goals.
How many corners settled down
sure. I could pull it off actually.
It's not that hard to figure out.
We've got seven
corners for Spain, zero first.
Cape Verde, Ryan, is a country in Africa?
Is it on the coast or is it?
It is an island.
It is an island.
Island in the Atlantic is what I said.
You're correct.
That's a long way out.
That's where's the way.
Africa. Not close to much, I'm guessing.
Yeah. No.
Close to water.
We'll keep moving. Stampedeters are off there by, friends.
It is the Battle of the Prairies this week. The Durs are in town. Those stinking,
defending champs.
They go one every 25 years. I wouldn't worry about them this year.
Stinking.
Please. We like mace. It kind of takes the sting out of it.
Riders Lines was a sweet game.
Tell us about it, Jack.
came down right to the end.
3127, I believe, for the riders.
Ders get a W.
Defend, raise the band.
I don't know what the hell of Nathan Rourke.
They drew up some play at the end of the game.
They should have just thrown a hill Mary.
They tried to do some lateral play.
It was garbage.
I don't know if you've noticed the boom,
but we have a CFL insider.
I know we do.
He's getting into it.
I'm so happy.
I am too.
And I think like, I admire it because he's like,
well, I'm going to go there's some stamps games.
I'm going to try to get into this.
And he's going to look at a depth charge,
trying to figure out who guys are
because he's not been the biggest CFL head,
but he's turning into one.
I'm trying.
When is this game?
Saturday.
Saturday.
What's the weather?
Going, Jack?
Well, it's five days away in Calgary.
So the weatherman problem is going to do it on.
Soon.
Plus nine.
Lots of time for that to get back.
I really hope so.
Nine.
End zone tickets on sale right now for the next 48 hours,
a little less than that, I suppose,
because they just tweeted that this morning.
The stamps have.
a deal. The sooner you buy your tickets in the week, the cheaper they are.
I would buy the tickets. No, no, no, now. Jack, get on it. 30 bucks, Jack.
Tough. We, uh, we, we just, we got to get back to basics here. We're going to close
the Pender Report with, you dance with the ones that got you here, Dean. So on a day where maybe
you don't find enough dumb stuff, let's get back to some snakes being fed some, uh, rodents.
Here we go. What kind of a job is this? What do they? What do they, what? What do they
Hey, I'm not watching.
I hate it.
Death spirals.
Look at this guy.
Not hungry.
What fell's up with this guy?
It's got bad guts.
Yeah.
Do these massive sneaks at least live in a tower?
Like, is it a TV show?
Like, it's just, can we just shut it off?

We don't need to do this.
Even though,
like...
Now, do you like snakes.
We don't need to do...
This doesn't need to be how it goes.
It can just...

for 48 hours.

That's the Pinder Report.
Like, there's no harm in that.
Doesn't make you bad.
It's been a while since we got snakes.
Yeah.
Yeah, really sorely missed.
Jack was pumped.
He saw it.
You know, I'm glad we're getting back to basics.
It's been a while since we had to get snagate.
I don't know if that's basics or things.
So this week.
Fundamentals.
It is the 15th of June.
And Rhett thought last weekend was, was Father's Day.
Right.
Yeah.
He was a little.
Was it?
Yeah.
Soctors are always early, Dean.
Yeah.
If you're not early, you're late.
This is international men's health week all week long, which is it makes sense.
we kind of dovetail right into Father's Day.
It is Men's Health Week, where us men's, you know,
we're being encouraged to maybe take a step,
do something towards your health.
We are kind of Neanderthals.
We just kind of trudge along or whatever.
Maybe it's time that we think a little bit more about our own health,
stepping up, taking, caring for yourself means more time, more memories,
more milestones with the people who matter.
When dads prioritize their mental and physical health,
they can show up,
stay present,
and be there for the moments that really count.
Healthy fathers help build healthier families,
get more time with the ones that matter most.
And it's the group that it's Movember.
We're all familiar with Movember.com.
It's like, well, it's in November.
one month out of the 12th to think about being healthy and taking care of yourself and your mental health and all of that.
It's a great initiative from the Movember group, especially with this being International Men's Health Week.
So just a little bit of the tip of the cap and for all of us to maybe just tap on the brakes a little bit, think about what matters, think about those that matter most, and take care of yourself so that you can be present and be there and help make more of those memories.
learn more at mulember.com, as I mentioned.
And we'll have a, I know, Ryan, you're going to have an interview tomorrow with that sort of thing.
And I'm, I'm as guilty as anybody.
You know, life's busy and you don't.
Probably, you could probably, what do they say?
Self care isn't selfish kind of thing.
You can probably stand to do a little something.
Retro, I think you've done a little bit more of that in the last couple of years.
You're taking good care of yourself.
Because you used to be.
an animal
I'm old now
it's cold plunging
he's watching what he's eating he's fast
yeah I'm now I need a cold plunge
so we're gonna get healthy
jack's in quit drinking
jack's 100% I'm in yeah
yeah there's like
you get him reading he'll be up to november
dot com it's I mean there's being
being fit but there's uh
and there's rod well yeah then there's
then there's rock there's you know physical health
mental health all that sort of thing so
take good care of yourself so you deserve it
Be good to yourself.
We could do, we could look at bets.
Something, somebody put something in the, what is this, Jackie was about, came in before the show, about hats or something.
I don't know what this is, but somebody fired it in to the, to the thing right off the start.
I'm not sure what this is.
New law, the wearing of flat brim baseball hats by men over 40 shall henceforth be illegal.
I don't know. They look good sometimes.
Incorrect.
You guys seem to think it makes you look younger and cooler,
but really it has the exact opposite effect.
Makes you look like an undercover grandpa.
Ooh, right to watch that show.
Bottom line, unless you're one of the illest emcees in hip-hop history,
you can't pull off this look post-40.
Ben the brimmer face the judge. Them's the choices.
No law.
Oh, there you go, so.
Damn.
I thought it was at the colonoscopy age.
I thought I had a few years to go, but apparently,
I'm already over.
I've passed the...
You're never going to give up on it.
This one's a little bit curved at least.
Yeah.
Don't let those guys get you down.
Don't let him do it.
Awesome.
They're after you.
Yeah, don't let Pete pause.
I like that they're making laws, stuff we can relate to.
Yeah, against the law.
Who knew?
Let's do our bets.
Got 365.
We enjoyed it.
You know what?
I'm betting a bunch of us out there
because I mean basketball's over
hockey's over.
How about the Knicks?
How about the next?
Jack, you jumped in a couple of times
on the 15 point pad
with the basketball.
Yes, sir, all playoffs.
I had a couple of the three-goly
payouts pay off waiting for the next
puck drops. What do we get?
Got 365. They're always there for you.
Got 365. Download the app.
Be 19 or older. Please play responsibly.
All right. We've got a little soccer.
We also got a reminder.
mind you that it is a major weekend in golf.
Shinnecock Hills, the U.S. Open in New York.
Scotty Schaeffler is your favorite.
He is plus 652 win the tournament.
Don't mind it.
What's enhanced?
Give me a little.
Tell you, pal the show.
Well, you're Barney.
As for the footy today, Spain already underway with Cape Verde.
You've got Uruguay, a Thai or Iran.
It's kind of what's called a double chance where you can take the tie or one team.
And then also we like Belgium to take care of Egypt today.
That big parlay there, lots of different options.
They're all favored, but that'll get you back to even money.
Don't mind it.
Right on.
Lots of footy and then Jack's got some corners bets.
I'm sure he's going to handle it.
Yes.
Corner kicks overs.
How much does you need for the Spain game?
On Saturday night?
No, right now.
Oh, eight and a half?
Eight and a half?
We'll give you the update here.
All right.
They're at seven still.
So you need to get 10 minutes left plus stoppage time.
Still stuck at seven corners.
Okay.
Two to go.
Those are our bets.
They don't have to be yours.
It's bet 365.
Download the app today.
You must be 19 or older.
Please play responsibly.
We'll do some super chats.
During the course of the show as we're live, YouTube live, you put money down with
your comment.
The money goes to a great cause, the youth centers of Calgary, and we'll put your
comment on the show.
I bet Jay Feaster is feeling vindicated.
today. We didn't mention Mark Jankowski
today. We should have. Why?
They won a cup.
So did everyone else in Kernan. We didn't talk
about everyone else. We talked about a lot of them.
So we should have just named names
just to name them so that people understood
it was on the team in the lineup?
We didn't have to mention. What do you have to say?
Byron. I honestly,
I think we all thought he was
dead in the water. There was a few years
there where he was spending more time in the American
League than the NHL. He was not
heading into his prime. He was heading out of it
age-wise and he's found a way to carve out a role as a fourth-line center and as a cup,
good for him.
Not a star, but found a role on a team that was really damn good.
So this would be, so this year, Jankowski, Flames first rounder wins.
Sam Bennett, the two years prior, Flames first rounder, won't stand the cup.
Flames know what they're doing.
They know what they're doing.
From MF Jones.
One positive takeaway for Flames Nation, you can win a cup without a superstar.
It is a big thing that Carolina, like, Calgary's a lot closer to being Carolina than they are Colorado or Vegas or, like, do you, can you envision the Calgary Flames, having a hardworking team with structure, good goaltending and great coaching?
Everyone's going to copycat these canes.
You don't have a superstar, neither do they.
Our coach needs to be a fitness freak.
Oh, he's...
So if you're Edmonton, you got to start looking at trading McDavid and Dry Soutly, you can't be winning that way.
It's too much money on the captain.
He's literally not.
You're going to bring in some players.
He's some balance.
Think of everything you'd get for McDavid if you traded him.
Think of all the stuff you'd get.
Interestingly, I should have brought this up earlier in the Pinda Report.
I don't know that it's a slam dunk John Tortorella's back in Vegas.
I don't either.
There's a movement afoot for Ryan Craig, who has been the head coach in Henderson, their H.
affiliate. I think that was probably always the plan was that he'd
see he would succeed Cassidy, but they needed
towards maybe to bridge it for a bit. Six years, first six years
of the franchise, he was an assistant coach with Vegas.
Three years now he's been the head coach of their HL affiliate.
And in a league where you have some significant markets with
superstars that need coaches, is John Tortorillo available.
Was a, was also a captain of Kelly McCriman's
Brandon Wheat Kings prior to that? There you go.
There you go. Good catch.
interesting because that that would check the boxes of all the things that the oilers wanted in a coach, right?
He has to win, structure, discipline.
That's, Torz is one of those guys.
And Torz looks good in those sweaters.
He could wear sweaters behind the bench, just chilly up there.
Yeah, I'm kind of with you.
I don't know if Toronto needs coach two.
Not sure if that's the fit for that young, well, if that group's young or not.
Like Torz was asked about it last night.
He said, is, oh, I got to swallow this first.
but he said he wants to coach.
So.
So yeah.
Andrew, I don't know you could expect that anymore than what he did.
He was unbelievable.
Does that change what plans were in place?
You'd think they'd have to.
But yeah, good point.
I don't know that it's the slam dunk that we, yeah.
And I thought it was a slam dunk until we started hearing some reporting.
And you look into this guy that they've been grooming to be the next head coach of the Vegas golden nights.
So, mm.
Okay.
I need to check something.
Oh,
can't got a hot text.
So you got a inside scoop?
Oh,
it's all good.
It's all good.
Reason I'm at home.
I got stuff on the go.
The oilers are desperate enough,
six times four mill on Freddie.
Ooh.
Six years for a 36 year old?
I don't think.
And fours.
It's a terrible take, Scott.
Come on.
I think the age for Freddie's going to keep him in Carolina.
Freddy's got to want to move, too.
I think Freddie's super.
happy and he's going to be
what you got one or two years left then he wants
your time buddy because he's a dane there
dane yeah
just opened a Danish American club there in
Raleigh so good
he'll get the authentic grub
there's a new Ukrainian joint in mackenzie town
there you go see no you're not leaving any time soon
no can't make me
see you there good luck he's not leave up try it
sorry Scott
uh Mario
20 bucks
Carolina shut me up.
I was comparing their hockey to
banging rails of Tylenol
PM. And they ran the effing table.
Stahl's a monster. Good on them.
Thanks for another entertaining postseason.
See you guys next year. Peace.
Oh, Mario, they don't leave now.
Where's lots of coaches?
Just into the good stuff.
Mario's out. See?
Peace.
Mario's out.
Oh, Mario's out.
What say we?
I'll just call until September.
Now, is Thailand-on-L-PM, is it a powder form,
Or is it a liquid?
They can crush that shit up.
Can you?
All right.
That's the guy with jailhouse tats.
He'll know how to get that into you quick.
Yeah.
Don't condone any of the.
Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
Suggestions or things brought up in the, in the super chat.
Please follow the label and advise your.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Consult with your doctor before any of this.
That is your super chat.
Oh.
Partion of the programs.
Hold for more.
I like the super chat.
Yeah, I know you do.
Yeah.
I know you do.
I know you do.
How was the show today, Jack?
Great show, boys.
Great show.
I'm worried, though.
What are we going to talk about?
Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack.
That's a tomorrow problem.
Shut the hell up.
A couple professionals here, Jack, what are you worried about?
Well, Pinder's not got, he's only here for two more days.
So he has nothing to worry about.
I'm at the Rogers Charity Classic Media event today.
And so that's a reminder that some of the best seniors in the world are coming to Calgary later this summer.
How'd that go last year?
Was it?
Cammy and I struggled.
But she's on her Bachelorette.
I believe it's a footy-themed Bachelorette on the left coast.
So I'll have a new party this year.
You're actually golfing again?
Did you show up on the right day last year?
No.
I did come in hot.
There was something, Jack.
What was it?
Yeah, he messed up the days for sure.
I was like, that's tomorrow.
He's missed.
But the beauty was, it starts late enough that I was like,
oh, S, I do have time to rip by the garage,
grab the clubs,
and like break the land speed record
and get there in time for Tia.
Yeah.
It's fine.
I'm ready today.
That's a great event.
It's a great event.
It's coming back, isn't it?
Coming back.
The annual event, they're going to do that again this year?
They are, which again, when it used to be Shaw,
Rogers takes over, you wondered, but they were sticking to it, which is great.
That's a good, yeah.
A staple of the sports calendar here.
What about you, Rhett?
What are we, uh, what's going on in your life?
Get him out of here.
Hell, hungry.
It's going on in my world.
You're eating today?
He's out, it's fun now.
Monday. Jack doesn't eat either.
Quietly just following his hero every day.
What about you, Dean? What's going on in your life?
Yeah, what's going on at your house?
I got, uh, very excited. I got, uh, an appliance showing up.
They gave you that, uh, in between, uh, 10 something and four or something.
Okay, well, that's, uh, the whole day. That's kind of the whole day.
So yeah, looking forward to that. It's one of those things where you drop a bunch of money to
replace something that will work exactly like the old one did until it broke.
and then you'll just not have the money.
So it's all I just drop to a couple grand to have no change in your life whatsoever.
So that's going to all inclusive for a week for that.
No, no, no, no, no.
Just we get to continue to wash clothes.
Right.
What a privilege that is.
Yeah.
They've got those buckets and those boards.
They work just fine.
Yeah.
Get the spoons out play in the, in the Warner backyard.
I have never had cleaner laundry than when we were in India.
They were smashing.
That's shit on the rocks.
Wicked.
You're ridden a bear in India?
Yep.
We can.
That's why I needed to wash my shorts.
Gets a bear fur off it.
Wicked.
Bear dander.
Yeah.
So tomorrow.
Tomorrow's.
Hopefully we're there.
Hopefully we can make it to tomorrow, Jack.
I think so.
God willing.
How did our playoff picks go, Ryan?
What's the final recap?
Okay.
Put me on the spot here.
Do you want to save that for tomorrow?
I know last year.
Let's save it so tomorrow.
Well, we got.
Because we apparently change picks after five games now.
So we will have the updated results.
Yeah, it depends if, because the first ones were binding, but we got to make more picks.
Right.
So we could be doubly right, potentially?
Oh, sure.
Why not?
It was tightening up as the playoffs went on in terms of, I think we had Dean, Jack, and
Rhett all with 12 points heading into the final.
I had 10.
We give a bonus point for the number of games played.
If you'd pick that correctly with the winner.
And we also picked
cons smite winners.
There's no one that had Jordan Stahl.
No.
No.
You and I had Freddie.
Freddie.
Retro had Carter.
Cat a hat.
Well,
the goal is got to be good if you're going to win.
And Jack had Mitchell.
I turned back into my Leaf Self Marner
with zero points in games five and six.
Oof.
Probably not.
Did Rossell tweet yet?
I was waiting for that.
He's got to have one in the holster.
He's got it.
Who do you think?
Thank you all.
There it is.
See you, buddies.
