Starting point is 00:00:00 And away we go. Hello, everyone. Welcome to Barn Burner on a Thursday, on a game day. Get your helmet on. It is the Dallas Stars. The formidable Dallas Stars in their, what, Victory Green. Is that what they call? I believe it is Victory Green.
Starting point is 00:00:19 The Victory Green now? How do you just proclaim it? That's correct. I am Victory Blue today. Are you? Yep. I'm balls out black. I was handsome blue.
Starting point is 00:00:30 That's what I'm wearing here. Yeah, it's not my fault. I like a nice tin. Thank you. This show is a presentation of Bet365, the world's largest sports betting platform. We love them. We love them to death.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Till death do us part. Download the app today. Use the promo code nation when you sign up, whatever the moment it's never ordinary at Bet365. It's the super chat in support of the youth centers of Calgary. Get in the chat today. You throw some money down. We'll get that comment of yours shown on the show
Starting point is 00:00:59 and then move the money over to the good folks at the youth center of Calgary, great things for people that need it. It's like you and I, Dean. Giving back. It's like you and I. Been there. Giving back.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Somebody's in the chat. I won't show it. Super chatting already or not? No, just, what's the, it's at Rett's beard looking tidy. Oh.
Starting point is 00:01:19 It's not tight. It is, you got to clean up the neckline, but it's a great base. The playoffs, don't tell me what to do. It's not the playoffs. It's not the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:01:28 It is the playoffs. It is the playoffs. It is the playoffs. the hell you talking about it. Come on. I know. Playoff Beard. Let's go. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Also saying, maybe you smoked a fat doobie. Sure. Oh, are you high today? Then I got high. And then I got high. Bubba-da-up, I was going to prep for the show, but then he got high. I came in.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Guns ablazing, everybody that's listening and watching. I'm full of vigor. Yeah. Vim and Vigour. Both. ideas coming out to ying yang so many ideas and everything just got poo poohed the the balloon these two idiots and that guy over there yeah pop what did you think of the big trades yesterday huge trades big trade tell us about them huge there's been other trades much smaller less popular trades this is one of the best trades of all time um do i don't know why you would i don't think that we popped it we just didn't further inflate the Well, it's the same thing.
Starting point is 00:02:34 The balloon, it was ready to be. It was very fragile. It was like that show up where the whole house lifted. Yes. They had potential. I do see similarities to the movie up because I also think that ideas as likely as the house floating away with balloons. So we can agree on that. Fine.
Starting point is 00:02:53 I'm teasing. Focus on your TikTok. I like the idea. I'm not sure that just right out out there is. Oh, can you imagine? You want to spin it? The Bar-Burner block party. Yep.
Starting point is 00:03:04 We've got a Mexican restaurant that just moved in. It's a Tercoodery place. Yes. There's a dumpling shop. Yeah. We got the beer right cooler here. We're shut down the street. We have a block party with all the other businesses. Yeah. All the milfs on the way of the Furc. F-45's coming out of you kidding. Hey, what's happening? Yeah. They do this every year. It's called Mardi Gras. There you go. So it's already. We just have to get partnered with Mardi Gras.
Starting point is 00:03:36 You don't want to partner with any. This is a standalone. This is Warner Industries. I'm saying it's a good idea because somebody's. So what would be step one? Probably talk to the city of closing the streets. The first step, I've already. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:51 I've brought it to your attention. I want you to run with it. Yeah. I know that you can. Ryan's great at. Yeah. Selling and talking. Jack is a detail.
Starting point is 00:04:01 guy he'll have the music pumping or jump up to do the spelling on all our posters I will go talk to the food people I'll go talk to the bulk party bulk bulk bulk
Starting point is 00:04:15 well we'll work on it right we'll see how it goes yeah we're busy today but yeah today's not a great day because I mean deadlines and I don't know why you'd ever give up on an ex-N-H-Olers kid that's BS never give up on an what are you talking about
Starting point is 00:04:31 That big trade. A coin. Okay. How do you move this guy? Well, LaChance yesterday. Harvard. Up the cover. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:40 It's two kids you move. Unbelievable. Stupid. Maybe you can't get them signed. These college kids. That's a good point. It's still. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Yeah, maybe. This is the end of the road trip. Is it? Oh, is that where we're going to talk about? Well, I don't know. We can talk about this party that's not going to happen. That random Dallas way, yeah, the league. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:02 We're going to send you out. get a bunch of games in you. Passed to do Philly. Down the coast and then back up. We'll bring you home. Oh, wait. While you're there on the way home, just swing by Texas.
Starting point is 00:05:16 It's not straight lines. It's a globe and it's round. So it's really odd. It'd be like if you're out getting groceries or something, your wife goes, hey, I was just wondering on your way home, can you stop by Whistler and grab some lift passes? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:29 We're already out. You're out getting bread. You're already out. Yeah, but stuff. ground i love saying you couldn't swing through Toronto and grab a couple jays jerseys we're gonna that'll be good yeah i will see and then they get to go east again i think the flames luckily
Starting point is 00:05:43 Toronto Rangers devils islanders that's coming up quick but Dallas and that'll be it for eastern road games after that well i mean it's they're about 60 plus games in 61 yep it's gonna be a lot of divisional and it's not crazy to think i know time
Starting point is 00:06:03 flies when you're having fun, but we're going to be in the teens here for games. If you had told us that the Calgary Flames would be in a playoffs about on March 6th back in September, we would have laughed so hard. You'd have punched you into face. Yes, we'd punch you, then we'd laugh, then we'd cry. It would have been an emotional three-part epic. Yeah. And it would just been to help you not be crazy anymore.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Because there's no way they're going to be in the playoffs with 60s. It's like, okay, grandpa, let's take your pills back to the, okay. I think they've got some, I like the cut of the. gybs. They've got some gusto. I'll put some shekels down. They'll be in a playoff spot in March. Oh, Grandpa. Okay. Orville. But there they sit.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Yeah. Albeit tied. Doesn't matter. In points percentage, but that's, look at the, look at the wins. They got the tie break. 29 wins, Vancouver, 28. This is a tough night of the O-Towns scoreboard. They got the round of the shootout and Vancouver hangs on for a win. It's not going to be easy, Dean. It's not supposed to be.
Starting point is 00:07:00 It's not supposed to enjoy the challenge. Joy, the pressures. Challenge. Is this the Ids of March? We always, we ask this pretty much every year. Tides of March. Is that what it is? Whatever.
Starting point is 00:07:11 How do you spell Ids, Jack? Oh, but does it still? Why are you on, Jack? What is spelling? Repeat the word. I hear it again. It's using a sentence. The aides of March were upon us.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Yeah. But there they are. She's real tight out there. How about Anaheim? Well, could have helped last night, eh? If it'd be Vancouver, they'd be at 63. And we could really say, how about Anaheim?
Starting point is 00:07:36 Yeah. My boy Jackson, Lecombe, complete, I killed us on that 3-6-5. So excited. I know, he's on a heater.
Starting point is 00:07:42 I did, and I was gonna, did you see him at the final whistle or with three seconds left? No. He was doing the, my gloves are glued to my hands trip. Oh,
Starting point is 00:07:52 he saw in the other night. There was a kerfuffle. Yeah. It was, I'm not sure if, I should have grabbed it, because it was really quite a display. First,
Starting point is 00:08:00 you had Zegris, who, uh, dropped the gloves, kind of, he was challenged by that thug Connor Garland. Oh, that big strapping.
Starting point is 00:08:11 He threw his gloves down. He's like, let's go. So then Zegris came in and it looked like he was kind of reaching for a drink in the back of the crueler at 7-11 or something. He doesn't really know what to do.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Cherry rush here. And they drop the puck again and there's a big, ooh, ooh, look at us. It looks like basketball now. Well, he comes. Zegris can't be fighting.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Like a guy like, that offensive 17 points on the year he can't be fighting 17 in fairness so that's not jackson lecombs game you don't want to break a hand jackson lecombs got like double the points term of zegris yeah or yish so anyway that was last night you still buying zegris or you're selling fresh start fresh start get him here training camp coaching just did a couple firsts we'll give them to you yeah coaching that ain't gonna it would be i i act oh here we can you find the willie plet slash on Stefan. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:06 After this. Yeah. The internet's the shits today. It really is. Her internet. Yeah. So it's kind of how that all starts. Neither.
Starting point is 00:09:15 I like it. Garland was willing to go. Zegra was kind of. Yeah, let's definitely go. Zegre's not many guys as small as countergarde in the league. You've got to be a little more enthusiastic than that.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Yeah. Probably about what, 220 combined pounds there. If what really. Really going out. Anyway, it's not about. We don't like violence.
Starting point is 00:09:34 We don't condo. sidetracked there. The flames are coming off a win. Yeah. You're damn right. They're good three out of the last four points. Samuel Erson was awesome for them. He was the player.
Starting point is 00:09:46 He somehow got to Erison the other night in Philly. Had it off night. Well, it's happens if you plant a double agent in there. It's on your side. Yeah. Not sure they can be. Three on four for Harrison? That's good coaching by Huska.
Starting point is 00:09:58 I'm not sure the flames can rely on that kind of goaltending tonight in Dallas. I'm not so sure either. Jake Ottinger's been named to start at. tonight for Dallas. No surprise there. Remember how the Flyers decided it was a non-contact game too? Is that the Dallas style? Is that right? No, I think
Starting point is 00:10:15 there might be a little bit more physicality in the Stars game. Stars are dinged up, but they're very good. Yeah, I mean, the big one is Hayeskidden. He's missed, I think it's 11 games now. Lundquist on the back end as well. They're blue line. Man, if you want to start saying, yeah, but do teams really need or ask them to Sanerson? Here's a good blue line to look at to say
Starting point is 00:10:34 Oh, that's a team that really could use your ass of Sanders. We can go get another Hanley. No, the Hartley. Hartley. Yeah, you want Harley. Harley or T? No, you don't want. Hartley was a jerk and he was in Latvia last scene.
Starting point is 00:10:49 No to Hartley. Man, Hanley, thumbs up on Harley. Yeah, if you can get a Harley, do that. You bought a Harley once, didn't you? I did. That's actually in the Pinder report today. You got your dog and your Harley in the same video. There's something happened about,
Starting point is 00:11:04 where was it, December 1st with this Stars team. Okay. Everything just Power play, penalty kill. How do you know? Wins.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Individuals with their point productions. They started playing well. They got a bunch of old bastards that are doing good. Is that what you're telling me? No, Sagan is out. Oh. But Ben and Dushain are there. They're not really that old at all.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Yeah. They had not lost more than two in a row all year. That's good. That's always a. It's all those two. Yeah, it's pretty good. They got 40 wins. That's tied with the Washington Capitals for second behind Winnipeg.
Starting point is 00:11:42 They're very good. Yeah. They win a lot. Do you remember? Six of seven, six straight wins in home ice. Oh, they're at 88 points. That's, yeah. That's good, man.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Got a game in hand. Alas can be four back. Since December 1st stars 26, 11, and 2. The 26 wins and their points percentage of 692. two tops in the league since December 1st. Since December 1. That makes sense. And again, they'll be better tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Starting point is 00:12:14 Because they'll be adding. You think? Yeah. You think probably right. There's no reason not to. If you're a gym nil, what are you waiting for? You still got production from Ben. You know, you've got these young guys that are really coming into their own and the wife Johnston. Hintz has been good for a few years.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Stan Kovin's not playing on the top line. Robertson's starting to score. He had a really slow start to the year. Hattrick the other day. You're depressing me. About. Well, but if we do this,
Starting point is 00:12:40 we did this against Washington, right? And then we know what happened. Oh, we tell you how good the opponent is. It wasn't even that. It was, yeah,
Starting point is 00:12:46 Anderson would be a real good piece. And then I go back, didn't we trade Russell there? Yeah, that was a good deal. Who did they get back in that? Well, well,
Starting point is 00:12:53 good enough. If they had a goal tender, then we'd have got a first. Yeah, they had, who was it back then? The old Lana Thrasher's goalie and Kari, it was Lettman,
Starting point is 00:13:00 it was Lettinent and Nemi, I think. Yes. And they all got to play. They both got to play each game in playoffs. Yeah. Yeah. It's nice.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Just ride the hot goalie. We don't have one. That's not going to happen. So I'll be ready to alternate. No. Every other game. Dushain and Robertson tied for the team lead in points with 62. Shane's been an unreal story there.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Found money. It really is. And I mean, bought out by Nashville. And it's like five, six million in dead cap for each of the next two years. It's Mashville. Signed a one-year deal
Starting point is 00:13:35 with Dallas. It's like three million bucks came in. Not bad. We like you. You want to come back? Somebody signed something today for four. How about another one-year deal
Starting point is 00:13:43 for three million? You like that? Sure, I like that. Sounds good. I'm going to be tied for your team leading goals. I'm going to be tied for your...
Starting point is 00:13:50 He's making three million. I guess a $3 million. It's been great there. That's tidy. He's got that buyout though, eh? You can take a little less when you're getting...
Starting point is 00:13:59 He's being nice is what he's doing. Yeah. And he likes playing in Dallas on a competitive team that could win a cup. Yeah. Good idea. Yeah, since December 1st. Hence, point per game.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Johnston over a point per game. Robertson, 1.26. He had a really slow start. And a lot of his nerd numbers on the NHL's website, speed was way down, but I bet you that's better. He was not very healthy growing up. How's your speed? What kind of speed?
Starting point is 00:14:27 Well. Foot speed? Skating. What do you mean? IQ, immature. Computing speed. It's good. I think a lot of the hockey world found out about Thomas Harley at the Four Nations.
Starting point is 00:14:42 He's a hell of a player. He was good before. He's been better since. I don't want to interrupt you like I always. Well, you are. Well, go ahead. We love Thomas. When was he drafted?
Starting point is 00:14:53 Was he 23 or 4? Thomas Harley? Was he first round? Let's go find him. But good player. Like again, you go back to... They're very smart. You go back to when they got Hanley.
Starting point is 00:15:06 It was... That's a good... Oh, no. Well, yeah. If you weren't going to get them, probably in that deal, obviously, looking back. Absolutely not. He was already playing a huge role. They didn't have a season of pot, Dean.
Starting point is 00:15:19 He was playing a ton of 18th overall in 2019. That's the picks you need in that range, Ryan. That's a nice pick from 10 to 20. I'll tell you that. Huh? Yeah. But yeah, he scored twice against the fly. flames earlier this year. We should not be sleeping on this guy. He's a very good player. He had 15 goals last
Starting point is 00:15:38 year in his first full season in the NHL. Imagine that your first full year in league, 15 goals is a defenseman. Okay. What's his? So he's on a good team. Right. That'll play. Mississauga. That word. Mississauga was a point per game defenseman his last year junior. And then he spent a bunch of time in the Texas stars. Bloody year. First full year up was, developed him. Yeah, they draft and developed him. Which the flame. are actually kind of doing a good job of too you look at you look at zary there's a guy that spent some time in the system you look at
Starting point is 00:16:08 slovia I believe that's a nice story six rounders coming up because nettov's probably the next guy that's going to get a look they're clearly not Thomas Harley's in the same absolutely but zari you like that's a draft pick that's even later than harley right hansick's there in the same sphere of pick let him cook let them marinate don't rush them
Starting point is 00:16:27 yeah that's what I say that cook who's cook cook that was uh Austin Fever. Yeah. It's Bugs Bunny, Cartoon. That's what it is. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Here's the numbers you love. It's a cartoon. Even strength, 5 on 5. Uh-huh. When Harley is on the ice, goals that go in for the stars, goals that go in against the stars.
Starting point is 00:16:55 Yeah. I'm falling you. He is a plus 30. Jeez. There are 30 more goals going in the opposition's net than the stars net that's great stuff that's second best in the entire league this is why the nerdsman on the sky for a while you're starting to talk the nerd language they're added to the plus minus no that's not plus minus that'd be a scoring differential of strength
Starting point is 00:17:17 yeah plus minus that counts empty netters and dumb shit like delete that stat maybe they're letting in a bunch of goals but they're just scoring so many but chances are when he's on the ice good things are happening that's a fair statement why are we pranking about all these guys who cares they're not on our team So you're saying that he's going to be able to handle Hubert O? You know what it is? I suggest so. I just want to boost up anybody that might take out Edmonton. See?
Starting point is 00:17:45 And you guys are giving Mount Me for Vancouver. That's exactly what we need. We need everyone else. We need Vegas going, we Colorado and we Dallas going. But I haven't been railing on the Dallas Stars hand over fist for 10 years. It's true. It's not that you're, hey, we're all in the same. A, A, B, anybody but Edmonton.
Starting point is 00:18:01 But to kind of, it's like you're kind of in bed with Vancouver and it's weird. It's because last year in the first round, they were so close and they got screwed. You have a reason, but you have reasons for everything. They don't always make sense. The reasons aren't necessarily smart or good or logical, but I do have reasons. Yeah, I'm going to have this drink. Why? I've got just cause. Well, what's that cause?
Starting point is 00:18:22 Because I want to. There it is. I've got, I'm kind of hoping it's Dallas's year. If you were building a case of why those two teams could meet again, in the conference finals and it would be better for Dallas. They're like, okay, well, like, the rosters are pretty similar, but the Oilers, who's going to be better than last year? Like, who was 22 that's now 23? Who's coming into the prime?
Starting point is 00:18:47 Who's playing their third or fourth pro season? Like, all these young Dallas guys should be better. And the Oilers got distinctly older and slower. Like, I really like this horse more than the other for that reason. Because it wasn't like they were overwhelmed. I mean, they nearly had a really commanding lead. did that series and they blew a big lead, but Dallas wasn't out of place being in a conference final.
Starting point is 00:19:07 And I want to go to Dallas. Yes. Why have we thrown the tell? Out? No, we're having different conversations. It's all kind of, because of course, there's tonight. Oh, yeah. Where the flames are in a great spot. Huge. Got to win. Dallas has won six straight
Starting point is 00:19:25 against the flames at home. Jeez, that's a lot. That's six. That's like four seasons of three. Yeah. No, because you play one and a half home games a year against conference foes. It's four years of not. One and a half?
Starting point is 00:19:39 Yeah, because you played two at home, one on the road, and you'd alternate years. So over the last four years, they'll play six games in Dallas. I'll trust you. I'm a scheduled nerd, apparently. Stars have played 31 home games. They've lost seven in regulation. Jeez. That's tidy.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Didn't we talk about, well, this is very Washington-esque then. They're unbeatable. So pull your socks up. Gole's been so good. They score a bunch. Look how good they are. We also did the show against Tampa, too. I don't want to first any one's bubble.
Starting point is 00:20:13 I thought we said the good things about the flames that day. We pointed out a lot of less braggy about Tampa than we were about Washington. I don't think we mentioned the flames. Be very bragging. Very bragy. Yeah. It's fine. Well, Dean and I picked this,
Starting point is 00:20:29 the stars to win the cup. So clearly we are believers. I hate Dallas. We're believers. Oh, never mind. Cheated. Right. 99.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Having a hard time with this. It's fine. And my dad poked fun at me for 17 years ago playing my last game. By the way, thanks. Yeah, that was on the Pitter Report. It's good content. So it's not me. So I want to remind people of your dominance.
Starting point is 00:20:54 What did you don't say? Something about being old. Well, you don't look at. So we don't. So, uh, what else? Like the Ovi. What other stats? I see you got a bunch of stuff written down.
Starting point is 00:21:07 I got some stuff. Now you're just scrolling. They are the third highest scoring team in the league. They are the fourth hardest team to score upon. They have the number one penalty kill in the NHL and at even strength their top five. And they're going to add. Oh, for sure there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:21 Once I show you this. Caps a space. That's a good question. That is a good question. You mentioned Maverick Bork, I think, the other day. Another guy with a great name. Yeah, it is a good name. He's in the, in the Ross.
Starting point is 00:21:33 He's on the. Line up now. Seven in his last nine. He's starting to kind of feel it, first rounder. Can you imagine being the coach? Maverick. Haverick. Harley.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Get out there. Ben? They got 4.6 million bucks of deadline space. Wyatt. Some good Western Canadians here. Is that where Wyatt Johnson's from? It just sounds like it. Let's go to Texas, Jack.
Starting point is 00:21:57 What do you think? I want to go to Texas. You've been to Texas job, Texas. Carrie a gun. Where have you been? Houston. Jack. Houston's huge.
Starting point is 00:22:04 If you're going to play in Texas, what are you going to have? You got to have a fiddle on the band. Yes. Just when you go. It's our day. Holy is that. Now, I didn't see his mouth because he's behind the monitor. Did you actually?
Starting point is 00:22:21 Yeah, I got it. Wow. That was impressive. Man. Get the whiskey. Ret. Just you want to quit on the youth? I know.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Except he's not you. It's old. You know, I bet you, Clay Coleman would be a good Dallas star. Yeah, it's not what they need at all. Dallas. They got great depth on the way. He's got a house there. Yeah, because he's got a place there. He's from Texas.
Starting point is 00:22:47 He'd wave to go there. You know what it would have to do. We'd have to take one of these wingers off their hands. Maybe a Stancoven comes to Calgary and that opens up a spot. Yeah, one of these like that, you know, Maverick, maybe. Did I ever tell you the time when my idiot brothers and his buddies got drunk? Yes, many times. And phoned Bobby Clark. No.
Starting point is 00:23:07 In Philly. Let's hear that one. Yes. So they're going to say it and these clouds are drunk and it's, I think it's around trade dead blood. And a couple of them are Philly flyer honks like through and through. And actually I think they made a trade with the flames. Maybe not.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Maybe I'm over. But anyway, these guys are questioning Bobby's ability to GM the Flyers. And so they're hammered. They phone the Flyers. How do they get the number? they've probably information at that point or 1-1 or whatever it used to be. So they phone the flyers front.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Hey, it's Bob from Calgary. Is Bobby around? Oh, yeah. Patches through. Bobby Clark picks up. Hey, Bobby. They start talking about deals and Bobby said, who is this? Who are I talking to?
Starting point is 00:24:00 And they're guns. It's Billy from Calgary. Yeah. But what? I know, I'm just a fan. All right, click. Good old days. Yeah, that ain't bad.
Starting point is 00:24:13 He was in the white pages. I appreciate your love to the team, but. Yeah. I don't think I have to run my trades through you. So this is Craig. It's great. Thanks for not running that place anymore. Or is Craig.
Starting point is 00:24:27 You've been in the, it sounds like you're in the sauce. Uh, so that's the I. Let's try that tomorrow. Sure. Sure. Get in the sauce. Yeah. Call some GMs.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Yeah. make some deals. Could do that. Tree won't be busy at all. She totally calm 10 minutes before. Is it, do they FaceTime each other now so that they know? Could we trick them?
Starting point is 00:24:45 No, I think it's a lot of cell phone speaker so that everyone can kind of, everyone at the table. Yeah, but if we did that, we could just say, hey, listen. Yeah, we could. Jim.
Starting point is 00:24:54 What about Stan Kovin for Anderson and Coleman? What's what he says? You don't want to try it? No, let's try it. It's cool. Who are those guys that used to? to do the phone calls to comedians. Jerky boys.
Starting point is 00:25:12 That's it. That's a throwback. Jack won't remember that. He wasn't alive. Hearing loss clinic. Another idea shot now. Hearing loss clinic, Travis and Sabrina. Rhodes are great Calgary people. The Rhodes are leaders.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Travis Rhodeses. And Sabrina continued to give back. They were the business in Calgary leader award winners this year. Helping all of us hear a better, feel better, interact better, untreated hearing loss. If you're suffering from hearing impairment, it can be dementia, depression, other serious illnesses and diseases have been linked to untreated hearing loss.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Maybe you want to be like ret and boom with your in-ear monitors, ultimate ears like that. Maybe you need hearing protection if you're working out in the wild. I've never worked in the wild, is it? I would feel like the wild would be quiet. Yeah. Could be unless near a waterfall or something. It's hard to say, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:18 But either way, make it part of, we said, make a part of your, your 2025. You're going to be better, you're going to feel better, you're going to do better and part of it. Get your hearing checked because I'm willing to bet it's been a long time. Maybe you've never, ever done it. That's a good thing to do. Hearingloss.c.ca.5 locations in BC,
Starting point is 00:26:36 five locations in Calgary. Visit one near you. And maybe. you're either going to get peace of mind or we're going to get your hearing better one of the two that's right either way everyone's a winner uh trade yesterday i mean there's been some trades but uh the Tampa Tampa Bay's adrian's boy Tampa Bay lightning every year we're going for it if you're if you're a lightning fan yep it seems like you never have to worry well this stupid GM better do something so there it is that was uh
Starting point is 00:27:09 It can't really be Frank Baum and it's almost in jail. Yanni Gord, Oliver Bjork Strand, and a fifth going. Can you say it properly? Yonny Gord. Yonny Gord. And Oliver Bjork Strand to the bolts in exchange for a first round pick, a first round pick, a second round pick. And Mikey Isamont. We saw him last week running around.
Starting point is 00:27:34 So as Frank has illustrated there on the screen, Tampa Bay's next first rounder. is in 2028. So ways away. They can recruit. Or just, you know. Wasn't Gord there before? Yeah, he won two cups there, I believe. How was that, Blake Coleman?
Starting point is 00:27:48 And Barclay Goodrow, that was the third line, the three of them. Because one falls in love with the third lines of these cup winners. It just impresses me to think that you could. I found this, boys. How do you like this? 2018, no first. 2019. Nolan foot.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Ha ha ha. 2020, no pick. 20-201. No pick. Isaac Howard, who is at college, lightened it up. Last pick. their last pick in 2022, nothing in 23, nothing in 24, nothing this summer, nothing next summer,
Starting point is 00:28:13 nothing the summer after they've already traded all those ones away. So can we try to remember the deals? I haven't done it, but I think we can get most of these nailed down. There's Julian. How do you say is an ass name, Jack? Breezeboaz. It's actually Brise Boys. Good try.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Jullian Brise Boys, bleep them picks. Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Yeah, thank you. Good. So the Tenor-Gin-O deal, remember, was the first, second, third, to fourth. Oh. The Brandon Hagel deal, remember, was two firsts plus radish, plus Kachuk.
Starting point is 00:28:48 The original Coleman deal was a first rounder, I believe, from New Jersey. That would have been probably the first of those. Multiple picks, I believe. And then I'm trying to think of the other first, uh, yeah, like it's wild. How many, they just go, go, go, go don't need you don't. Yeah. We're here to win now. And to be fair, where's Kutjav right now?
Starting point is 00:29:07 he's the tail end of his prime where's headman right now tail end of his prime where's vasselovsky tail end of his prime like chips in now bleep them picks wow some kid that can help us in four years that's not a couple in them points still score in 40 a year and if a coach ever wants to leave I guarantee you get a first back that's that's true yeah you feel like they maybe find a way to recoup picks it's I mean it's a strategy for sure we talk a lot on this show about the importance of picks and there's Julian Breezebois who's saying F them picks, as you saw. Yeah, well, because they're good, right? You can do that when you have headman who is taken very high.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Vasilevsky, who was a first round goalie. And you hit, give them correct. I mean, they hit on Braden Point. Third round. They hit on Kutcherov. First round. Yeah. They've signed free agents, obviously.
Starting point is 00:29:58 And look, like, when you're the Tampa Bay Light, where are your first rounders? 28, 29, 30, 31, 32. Like, who? Who cares? Those are four-year projects. They're in win mode now mode. Like, their window to win is now. It's not five years. Julian Breezebois is the GM.
Starting point is 00:30:17 He said F them picks and then was asked about it at the press availability afterwards. Here's what he had to say about shedding picks. What guides us, what drives us is trying to win a championship. And that's really hard. And in order to do that, you need a lot of good players. You can never have too many good players. So what I'm trying to do is use my draft picks to acquire as many good players as possible,
Starting point is 00:30:40 so I have the best team possible. Ultimately, that's what I'm trying to do. I'd rather have a lineup full of good players than a bank of a ton of draft picks. Because I think ultimately what we're trying to do is win hockey games. We want to win a lot of hockey games. We want to win a lot of hockey games this season, next season, every season. Like we're chasing a championship now this season, but we're going to be chasing a championship next season. and for the foreseeable future.
Starting point is 00:31:04 So if I can use those picks to help me accomplish those objectives of winning as many hockey games as possible and chasing championships, I think that's my job to go ahead and get those transactions done and acquire those players. Yeah. Yeah, it's not as though it's, boy, you've sure given up a lot of picks. Yes, but we haven't just thrown them in the trash.
Starting point is 00:31:26 We've gotten players back. And we have a core that allows us to maybe take some swings. It's a lot of swings. I mean it's kind of what Pittsburgh did for a long time when they had Malkin and Crosby it's it's what Chicago did when they were in their window Edmonton's been doing it for this is what contenders do they trade their first to get better players and plug holes and then when Julian decides to leave somebody else could come in and deal with the bullshit that's right and that's what Connie inherited and would get a job the next like uh he could probably have been fired jobs if
Starting point is 00:31:54 you wanted it's how is my phone how do I have 19 messages already I just got five it's weird um you do wonder about the you know the Pittsburgh is there a Pittsburgh comparable there where they have good players we're going to trade we're going to we're going to we're going to try and win as many times as possible with this everyone's gone through it you can go all the way back to Detroit yeah but I just right now we're seeing how bad it is it's yeah some of those players are still there sid's there malchids and it's feels like bad before it gets better no one's good forever I mean ret noted it before there was a cap you could hold things a little longer he just spend more I was Detroit they went
Starting point is 00:32:30 25 years in a row making the playoffs. But yeah, like Tampa will be bad at some point, but that's not any time soon. They got a window here. The thing about it is too, I guess. You mentioned some of those names. Like, Heggles probably been better than anyone could have expected. He also had a really low cap hit,
Starting point is 00:32:44 which is why he was attractive to them. They were so capped out. It was a flat cap era. And they're like, look, we're good, but we're not good enough to win a cup we don't think. We'll give two firsts, which are late guys, two prospects that we're not sure going to make it anyway. And we get a guy that's cost control for two years,
Starting point is 00:32:58 that we think's going to fit well for us. he's going to help us win now. I think the key to all of it, and they're doing a great job of Tampa, obviously. The key to all of it, where you go to Chicago, when they had that run,
Starting point is 00:33:09 is do not go to headman, who's better than Seabrook ever was, and give them that shitty deal at the end of the career. And they've done it in Tampa Bay before, where they've walked away from... Stamco's. Stamco's, like a caveat,
Starting point is 00:33:26 St. Louis, the captains and Key. He's to the city guys. They brought him back on a better deal. Sorry, you're gone. Yeah. They have, they are a really, really smart organization. And when we talk about these teams that are high in the league,
Starting point is 00:33:40 they're going to talk about good organizations again. But yeah, it's like you've got to be good at contracts. You've got to be good at data. You've got to be great at scouting. You've got a good coaching staff. You've got to draft and develop well. Tapick gets all at check marks. That's why they're trying to win their third cup with this score.
Starting point is 00:33:53 And of those names that you mentioned, now again, I know, Jano had term, I think left on his deal when they did it. you talked about Hagel, he was cost controlled. Are both. Coleman was too. Where Gord and Bjork Strand are. Gord's a UFA and New York Strand has one more year. But Gord's been there before.
Starting point is 00:34:09 They know the guy. And if there was a guy that could understand the context of winning and where he wants to be, hey, you were in Seattle for four, three years. How'd that go? I love the balls. I love swinging. But to your point, it's a little bit different. That's the 27th overall pick.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Yes, it's a second rounder before expansion. Well, well, it's a little different than. a if it's a non-watery by Seattle too because they have all this up in my opinion and they need to start fresh again. Well and for Seattle it's like imagine July 1 going back in a time machine
Starting point is 00:34:41 knowing how mid you were going to be which everyone thought and saying yeah hey Brandon Montour seven years. Hey Chandler-Stevens in seven years like pick a lane fellas. Fellas. Fellas. How do you? I don't know if we want to get into this kind of
Starting point is 00:35:00 so Brandon Montour leaves Florida. wins a cup. Wins a cup. Turns into a hell of a defenseman. Goes for the money. Is in Seattle. I'm trying to get inside his brain right now.
Starting point is 00:35:16 And, you know, with the Panthers bringing Seth Jones back in, who's better? And probably around the same seven and a half? Well, and you've only got, what, four or five years of Jones after this? You've got six more of Montour. I'd take the ceiling on seven.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Jones. Yeah. So that's fine. But I'm talking about montours and probably I should be the one answering it. But like you went to Seattle, you got the money and now your team shit and you're going, it's gray and dreary. Why end up by here? That third line we talked about in Tampa, Barclay, Gord, and Coleman all left in free agency
Starting point is 00:35:49 and chase big money. Barclay signed a lower money six year deal with New York. And then they waived him to get him to that money off to San Jose. Coleman's got two years left after this one on a take the money in term deal. Gord was not as coveted as Coleman. This is the last year of his deal was a four, not a six year deal. I mean, these decisions happen all the time.
Starting point is 00:36:07 And if you're the Tampa Bay Lightning, you'd probably want to keep all these guys. But in that flat cap area, you couldn't. Yeah, I'm talking more from the players' perspective. I agree. Like, I get it. It's just like Tampa's going to offer me 18 over three and the flames are offering me 30.
Starting point is 00:36:21 Like, well, I have to take 30. Because you're talking about Montour. Yeah. But he's referencing somebody else. But the guy's just coming off a cup that left in free agency and pick money. You're in a state that's awesome. You're on a team that's really good.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Certainly you left and you're making more money. It'd be interesting to know if you could. What would you do? Probably if it's $20 million. You're like, well, I've got to take the $20. Yeah. So this is the question. Like let's say you won in Buffalo in 99.
Starting point is 00:36:51 I don't know when you were a free agent, but you would have come up a year or two after that, I'd think. Yeah. So if you hit the market, you've won a cup. So you've, okay, you've checked that off your, career list. And Buffalo, notoriously cheap, like, hey, Rhett, we think you're a $1.5 million player, and we'll give you
Starting point is 00:37:06 two years. And you're looking on the market. You're like, I think you can get four years at like two and a half. Yeah, and winning the cup does make a difference, because you've checked that. And so, I totally understand it. And from Tampa's perspective, they would love to keep them all. This could do it. I just know from playing, playing on teams that
Starting point is 00:37:22 are mid and average. Oh, yeah. What a grind. Well, Blake Coleman came to a team that had Chuck, Goddrow, Lindhol, Monaghan, And Jordano Anderson, like he didn't think he was coming to a rebuild. Not have. See what they do. Should have asked us.
Starting point is 00:37:39 We just set him straight. We told him Johnny was leaving. It would be good agents. Maybe that's what we should be. Start an agency. Another idea. Block party, agency. I got a lot on my plate.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Rets coming up with these ideas. You get. Yeah, but we got a stats nerd here. You're a personal person. I can bring down the hammer if I have to. Okay. You heard about his hammer? Are we ready to do the
Starting point is 00:38:05 hockey picks? Nice. Safeway. Think you know hockey? Pretend. Play Safeway, my NHL picks weekly for the chance to win big prizes like the grand prize, a trip for four

Starting point is 00:38:39 That's a guarantee. You get five. Every correct pick entry into the grand prize draw. It's about like 60 a week. All you can just pick five. You can also win scene points, earn bonus entries, grocery offers, but here's where you've got to start.
Starting point is 00:38:52 If you don't have it already, get the Safeway app. Get in there, my NHL picks. Start playing today for your check. chance to win. So the fellas. I mean, it sounds too good to be true, right? Here's who's this? Is you retro? This is me.
Starting point is 00:39:07 Okay. I've got one a day and a couple on Sunday. Love Tampa against even though they somehow found a way to lock down Jordan Greenway. I like the bolts tonight. What in the staff? Vegas over Pittsburgh. Yeah, like that. Panthers over the Sabres. Yeah, I like
Starting point is 00:39:22 that. Caps over cracking. Yeah, I like that. And Vegas over L.A. That's a tougher one. But I threw it in there. That's a great. bounce back spot kings beat them up two weeks ago we could go great picks right so that's we'll see in a week you got a whole week you got a whole week to choose from you up on the bottom feeders oh look at this is this the shoveler some opposite george here this is uh this is the shovel this is definitely not me this is the shoveler thinks the sabers oh she's a honk for the sabers she's always hanging around and terro's another old team of yours yep good point can't
Starting point is 00:39:58 apps. All right. If you're going to pick the crack, you may as well do it when they're playing Nashville. I don't mind that. Hey, listen. The truth will be in the pudding. That's what they say. That's what they say. Good picks.
Starting point is 00:40:12 You may love them. You may not like those picks. That's the thing. It's called my NHL picks. Not pinders, not shovelers. My NHL picks. Get the Safeway app. Start playing today.
Starting point is 00:40:22 And you could be off to a season opener of your choice at the start of the next NHL season. October 10-ish around there, I want to say. There's a territory. Thank you, Safeway. Peace. There's some more. There's playoff ball.
Starting point is 00:40:37 You mentioned Jordan Greenway, um, just kind of a random name for some that might be listening or watching. Can we do a poll? Do you know who Jordan Greenway is? Do you know who Jordan Greenway is? And how many points he has. That's going to be hard in the poll, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Yeah, but we have tech people, texting in all the time. Let's get some comments here. Folks, Jordan Greenway. I want some feedback on if I'm a clown or if everyone's in the same boat. So what are you, what's your assertion? What's your take here? Well, I, I soiled myself when Pinder told me how much money this person just signed for. This is Chris Johnston, who usually is 100% right.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Jordan Greenway signs a two-year deal with a saber is carrying a $4 million annual annual So we've freaked out about the who's the goalie in Vancouver. Lankinen. Why would you give up that much money? This. So who is Jordan Greenway becomes the question. He was a Minnesota wild. He's arrived.
Starting point is 00:41:43 There's a big body, but he hasn't really accomplished. This is because like we talk about with so many of these deals, how did you get there? Because to me, that feels about. That's why we got to be agents. That's about a year. and three million a year. I will resign you. We like you.
Starting point is 00:42:00 You're big. It's fine. We'll keep you around. I'll re-sign you at one. One times one. Whatever you're at this year. Because I really like you. A million for one year.
Starting point is 00:42:14 $4 million. For 26 games and eight points. Three goals. Hey, we're not there. Take the money. Proud of him. I am not mad. I'm not at Jordan.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Jordan. Jordan great work. George's agent. Even better work. Penn, Penn. Penn. Penn. Penn.
Starting point is 00:42:33 Yeah, like when they call him, when he gets the phone call or the GM comes to Adams comes to that. It's like, oh, frick, I just got traded. Yeah. This is like when Matt's stage you come up getting extensions. Not Matt of Matt. Who's the GM here? Hey, we love what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Love Matt. Yeah, sure. You love what I'm doing. Where am I going? Yeah. We'd like to get you locked up. What do you say locked up? What are we talking here?
Starting point is 00:42:57 See the. security footage from the loading dock damn it she said she was 18 um unbelievable 8 million bucks over two years I'm gonna take it dude Jordan green
Starting point is 00:43:12 that sounds good yeah we're good right now quick I got a couple appointments we're to sign this now yeah don't get it I don't understand it to the point where nothing against anyone involved
Starting point is 00:43:27 whoever gave him that offer should just probably march out the front door and there's the keys he does have a career high of 12 goals holy smokes that was seven years ago 28 points last year i guess i think if you go place this guy on the tampa lightning florida panthers evinson oilers dallas stars pick your contender he is a fourth line but can you move him even as anyone calls he's making four sabers right now going And hey, what about that Greenway guy? Like, is he, he's from New York. Oh, Canton.
Starting point is 00:44:02 Okay. That's six, six, two, 30. That's a large human. But, like, would you rather Matt Olivier at three or this? Yeah, he doesn't fight. This is my point. Yeah, Matt Olivier signed a nice deal. And he's got more than three goals, too.
Starting point is 00:44:17 He was at 10 in December. Tough. Plays hard. Guys love him. Signed a six-year extent. Are we crazy, though? Like, I feel like we're taking shots, but I literally, I, when I saw, it's like, boy, two million for Jordan.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Yeah, two times two is four. I guess that's all right. And even there it was like, what four? Fourth line guy, couple of, I don't know. Lomburg got two million. I don't know, maybe. No, it's four million. Oh.
Starting point is 00:44:44 That's more than two. That's double. Yeah. It was the Derek England. We thought the total dollars. And it was the ABA. No, no, no, no. Well, for the savers, I hope it works.
Starting point is 00:44:54 out as well as that did for the flames because that ended up not being to do terrible. Who's this guy that was healthy scratch in the playoffs? The tree's giving 2.9 to like he was fine. Was Adams was Greenway asking for more?
Starting point is 00:45:11 And Adams said, you'll take that four year or I'm going to trade you. That's what I was going to say. How do you get to that number? Did Greenway, did he start higher? Or was it just a? We're so worried about losing guys. He does get a five-team modified no trade list.
Starting point is 00:45:28 Jordan Greenway is getting modified not trades. Five teams. Kevin. Is Kevin, I'm just done being a GM? Can he put Buffalo on that list and take his money else? How does that work? I want to do such a poor job that I'm going to get fired and no one's ever going to want to hire me again. This is, I hate my life.
Starting point is 00:45:45 It's weird that you'd hire a guy that had been in business ops has all current and had never been a GM or an AGM before. That's why I continue to put this in the same reason because he went from running the junior. Sabers organization. And I don't care. Hey, good on him. He's played. He's coached. Yeah, but it's just, what is their plan? Like, we talked to insiders in one week of still
Starting point is 00:46:06 in Cousins. And then it's born by him. And then it's JJ Paturka. And then it's this guy or that guy. And Alex Tuck. Like, what is their plan? He's afraid to lose a deal because he got absolutely soaked in the Eichel swap. He got soaked in the Eichol Slop. And again,
Starting point is 00:46:22 he inherited the mess. And they didn't have to create that situation. to begin. Yeah, and again, I put everything on the owner. If you're going to hire a first-time GM who hasn't done the job and you have a toxic relationship, the owner with your star player, Jack Eichel, tough spot. But like, you can't keep running back Kevin Adams and you can't hire the guy that hired to coach his team. He's the exact wrong hire. Who was it the day? Somebody was talking about other GMs. If you're hiring Kevin Adams, fine. Who are you surrounding him with? Yeah, you better give him some people to know what they're doing. It's his first time in the position,
Starting point is 00:46:52 not on the business side, but in the hockey opposite side of an NHL organization. And he gets the reins first time. You're going from selling corporate season ticket packages to calling, you know, Joe Sackick trying to make deals.
Starting point is 00:47:08 What are we doing? Go through that trade, Dino. Well, I just, because I remember we were close to it because we felt like Calgary was in the Eichol trade talks right to the end. With Trilliving, you felt like and I believe it was.
Starting point is 00:47:22 traded, it was from Buffalo with a third. This is Eichel. So Eichel and a third for Peyton Krebs, Alex Tuck, a conditional first and a conditional second. Now, they're 22 and 23 picks. So Noah Osland and Riley Height, they may not even be there anymore. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:46 But we liked it in a way because Tuck wanted to be in Buffalo, right? He was from there at least. from who? Connolly, it was, okay, you need guys that want to be there. And Krebs is a first rounder, a young guy. You knew who was getting the better player. No question. And it felt like a great trade for, for Vegas.
Starting point is 00:48:05 But even it couldn't have even worked out. So like let, let Krebs be a first round talent. Let talk. Maybe talk's been what he is. Tuck's the shit. He's hurt all the time. Well, we plays. I like him, but he's hurt too much.
Starting point is 00:48:17 Yeah. They'll move him. And I, by shit, I mean he's hurt. Sorry. It's a fine play. But like on paper when you talk about moving these guys, so it's a first round prospect, another first, another second,
Starting point is 00:48:28 and a roster player in Alex Tuck. What did Yanni Gorgeous get? Yeah. And you'd rather have the picks. What did any gorgeous get? So I would ask this, anytime a team's moving a guy that was just traded, and that was what Krebs was,
Starting point is 00:48:42 who knows that prospect better than anyone else? The Vegas Golden Nuts. Where was Krebs taken? Remember when they got Stone? He would have been in the teens. remember when they remember when they got Mark Stone and it was like
Starting point is 00:48:55 oh this Brantstrom kid you're going to love them Brandstrom Brandstrom Brandstrom Bransom's on waivers never done anything this is supposed to be a defenseman of the future for the centers who knew him best the Vegas Golden Knights Yeah Suzuki's been a good player He's a guy that they moved And they knew that to get patch ready.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Yeah But pretty much well let's be honest Pretty much everything else has gone pretty well for Well it feels like Again I go to today or Tanner Geno. Would you not take the Tanner Geno over the
Starting point is 00:49:23 the crebs and I don't know. Like, yeah, I think it's sort of falling off. And we forget it. It's easy to sit back here. I think that Sabres thought they were closer than anyone else in the world too by adding tuck and crabs, a guy that could play right now.
Starting point is 00:49:37 Well, we're going to turn the corner right away. Yeah. No, you're not. No, you're not. Yeah. And look, I still like that roster. I wouldn't be surprised if they get the coaching right, that they're good.
Starting point is 00:49:46 But it's just, it seems like, experienced GM, wrong coach, bad owner. And I don't even, I know you throw the owner in there and I guess. Because he hired the GM. How do you do that? If you have a billion dollar entity, would you give a guy that's never done the job or even been a sidekick to the guy that's done the job, the job? Because that's what he did. I would not, Ryan.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Yeah. And so that's why I put it on the owner. I need a billion dollar. Kevin Adams didn't hire himself. Make these decisions. Kevin Adams didn't hire himself. The Bacula hired him. There's blame to be spread around. But it's 14 years, there's tons of it, right? Well, and the other thing, sorry, Donnie Granato is a wicked human being, but they stuck by him again. Way too long.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Who was the German guy that was there before that? Ralph Kruger. Yeah. It's been tough, not a lot of good fits. But again, now you're like, well, Lindy Ruff's not a fit for this team. He's not a structure guy. Like, New Jersey was too loose last year. That's a way better monster.
Starting point is 00:50:43 And again, I feel like Lindy Ruff is the owner of the GM. So who hired him? Is that the owner of the GM? Like it just speaks to dysfunction. Good job, Jordan. And at the same, Kevin, maybe you're not qualified.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Be better. Yes. And so. I want to know, like I would love to pull the rest of the GMs in the league and go, what's Jordan Greenwayworth? Yeah. Because I think that's a huge indicator of what Kevin Adams' abilities are.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Doesn't it feel like that's just what league minimum? A million bucks. He's 28. He's big. He's big tax because you like big guys, but it doesn't really fight. Okay, sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Who's picking up. This is where you know Jordan Greenway's value. Who's picking them up? No one will add that deal. Who's trading for Jordan Greenway and what are you giving up if you are? You're not. It's hard to, you can't stomach it.
Starting point is 00:51:35 He's hard to come up with a situation. Okay, Winnipeg's close. We need to add it forward, some depth. We need a fourth liner. That's where he fits on that. Four. What? No.
Starting point is 00:51:45 Four million for a fourth liner. Good luck, Buffalo. Go be watching. Yeah. And so. Big day to wrap. Just to wrap it real quick, like obviously Kevin Adams is gunshot. He's afraid of making a mistake.
Starting point is 00:51:56 That's why everyone's names out there and none of them are likely going to move. Well, no, the other side, sorry, I don't disagree. I think he is afraid to make a mistake, but I don't agree with that comment. He should be listening on everyone. Oh, I totally. It's just that it's a flavor of the month thing. Like, I don't actually think they want to move Dylan Cousins. I don't like they actually want to move Bowen Byron.
Starting point is 00:52:15 No. Why in the F would you move to bowl of Byron? Like, unless it's. So you listen. That's the GM's job. but I like that deal actually if you want to talk about for that's that's a good one middle stat was a good but he should run that put turk out of their ASAP there's too many saw I gave our team crap the
Starting point is 00:52:36 day for being soft as puppy poop the sabres are worse like it is just and so this the 6 6-230 guy got to resign him but he doesn't play hard he doesn't play hard enough sad times awful man can be tough good tough they're going to add go get DK at McCaff, hey? Is he a disgruntled dick? You won't be disgruntled once you pay him. Oh, yeah, that's because that's what happens with wide receivers. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:04 That are great for two years. If you just pay me a whole bunch, I'll have a better attitude. Oh, you want 30 mil and he wants to get away from Seattle. Buffalo is both, can do both those things. Yeah. Buffalo definitely nicer than Seattle. Mm. You're allergic to rain, maybe.
Starting point is 00:53:19 Hockey North America is Calgary's best run adult recreational hockey league. summer hockey. You love summer hockey coming out of the rink and your flip flops. Shorts. Flip flops to the rink. Don't have to start. My car's going to be so

Let's do the Pinder Report on a game day, game day edition of the Pinder Report of presentation of Village Honda. The $1 million buying event is back. That's back.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Village Honda, they want to buy your pre-owned vehicle. That's what it comes down to. You don't need to even buy theirs. They'd love that, but still, pretty nice of them. If you're looking to sell,
Starting point is 00:55:43 you've got a lease to return to another dealership, planning to trade in your vehicle somewhere else. Talk to Village Honda first. Let them appraise that vehicle. Complementary appraisals, payment within 24 hours, competitive trade and buy-in values. it's easy and stress-free.
Starting point is 00:55:57 Start off the process now at village honda.com. It's the Pindra. It's the PINDA report. All right, fellas, game day. Let's head over to flamesnation.ca and see what the writers are writing about. I don't know if you've been paying attention, but it has not been going well for the Wranglers of Calgary. Seven goals second period contributes to 8 to loss.
Starting point is 00:56:22 they've dropped 11 of 12 they're in a funk they're in a major funk and they walk a doer back who could have helped them out of that funk who's coaching now Brett hitman setter oh is he the head like the head well just because they've had the shuffle
Starting point is 00:56:42 yeah yeah believe so because I Joe Sorilla's there right yeah smoke of Joe yeah either way come on Raggers here we go hey Ronnie I'm available here's the thing. They're going to get some help. Oh, by the way, Zane Perrecker there, we'll get more on him later. Solo going back down. That's going to help him. He's been the best defenseman all year. The bell rush and sixth rounder will return to
Starting point is 00:57:03 the Wranglers and help solidify a blue. And that also takes him Barry now. He switched his number for 14 to 22. I knew you're saying with that. Some of the coaches said TB 12 really wheeling around out there. TB 14, now TB 22. TB 8. TB 8 before. He was good. either way. I saw it. It could look great in Switzerland.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Just or is about to play his 100th A.HL. Just did. Just did. Well, I saw the graphics. So yeah. TB determined. TB 20.
Starting point is 00:57:33 To be. Tibib. Western standings. Let's look at the second wild card because, well, everything above that. Colorado and a cup contenders. Flames hold it down.
Starting point is 00:57:44 And what a battle it is, the blues one point back. But the game's played, Red. If you just won those two, in St. Louis. How about just won in St. Louis? Told you guys. The spread,
Starting point is 00:57:56 what if it? Spread. He listens. Of note, Vancouver won last night. They beat the Ducks. And St. Louis won as well. So, tough night, Dean. Look at those prets. Just. Yeah. Stando Cup pretenders. Start of the year.
Starting point is 00:58:14 She's toast. Who didn't like them? You. Hey, that's a good one for I told us. So. We sold it. I told you so. That's a great I told you. So yeah, well done, bud. Noodles got to be coming back soon. Huskers nightmare.
Starting point is 00:58:30 Win, loss, loss, OT loss, win. And we'll wrap the season long six game roadie for the Calvary Flames tonight with a six o'clock start in Big D, myself and Mike. Oh, I don't trust that. On Afterburner. Are you going to have a comment there?
Starting point is 00:58:47 I was just going to say this is not been a nightmare. It's just been a bit of a slumber. There was a three game stretch. It was pretty nightmarish. That stretch where they had one goal. If they came home today, that's not nightmare. Even two, three and one. Oh, heck yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:02 You take five points at the beginning of this? Yeah. So good job to the flight. Like, well done. And it kind of does feel like that one point in Carolina would change your opinion. Yep. Because they got pumped in that game. They somehow stole a point.
Starting point is 00:59:12 Vlodar was sensational. They had a four minute kill in the final moments of the game. Carolina owned them. The shots are 12-1 at one point. And that allows. you're at five already. Gravy if you get to seven, six, five hundred through the toughest road trip of the year, you take it. See what happens tonight.
Starting point is 00:59:29 Bladar and that? I would think so. Nothing announced yet that I've seen since the show started. Jack will let us know. Or he wants. Here's the Dallas lines up. Robertson, Hintz, Stankovan, Marchmont, Duches, Granlon, who they added in Tray with San Jose earlier. He and Cody Sisi coming over together. Jamie Ben, Wyatt, Wyatt, Johnson, and Daddy. of Gade Doninov, who of course
Starting point is 00:59:52 famously got screwed by the San Sam Steele. Sanfell fourth line. That's Harley, Wyatt. Backsteel Bork? That's their fourth one. Stankovin. It's Oscar back.
Starting point is 01:00:05 That's a hell of the name. He's back. He's back. I can't do it. Could you give us an Oscar? Oscar's back. Thank you. Lubushkin's back.
Starting point is 01:00:17 Lubushkin's playing top pair. That's not ideal. This is because they're missing Mero. Hayskinnan because they're pretty weak on the right side. Lendell's a good defender. Thomas Harley, great young player. Cody Cici in the top four. Didn't work for Edmonton last year.
Starting point is 01:00:30 We'll see how it goes here. Leon Bixel and Matt Dumba, your third pair. They are missing Lundquist and Hayskinin, and they should add a right shot. Let's throw that D back up for a sec. This is the team that should spend for Rasmus Anderson. It does feel that way. If you could get Cody Cici on the third pair, I really like your team. Or at least put Rasmus on the top and slide.
Starting point is 01:00:49 everyone down. Lubushkin, Cece Dumbah on the right is not good. Why do you hate Lubushkin? I hate love him as a third pair guy. It does look like a team you could. But they're not going to,
Starting point is 01:01:05 this is why I was, I huffed earlier because I'm like, the flames aren't doing anything. But they're missing. They might as well shut his phone. You know, they are missing. They're number one. You slot put Hayeskin on that screen.
Starting point is 01:01:14 It changes a lot. On the left side. Can you put it back up, Jack? Is that asking too much? I don't ask a lot. So you go. But what if you did add both, Dean? You go Hayskinin on the left side.
Starting point is 01:01:26 You get a Heskinan and somebody, Harley and Anderson. Holy schmikes. Lindell and C.C. Oh, baby. Snakes. God forbid someone plays in their offside. You know what I mean? Can you stop?
Starting point is 01:01:41 We want to get Anderson run out of here. Something to talk about tomorrow because it's going to be crickets. See the goalies and the injuries. Showed that already. Let's move. Standings in the Central are interesting. This is where the stars reside, as Mr. Boom, boom, noted.
Starting point is 01:01:58 Best team in the NHL since December 1. December 1. And that's allowed them to close the gap to six points with a game in hand on Winnipeg, who are very, very good. 40Ws, as you noted. Interesting. Boy, I'd be good at GM. Hey, show about day off.
Starting point is 01:02:14 These stars guys, they really won Anderson. Pay up, pay up. What not good for the Dallas Stars is Keep you on the phone. Okay, I don't know what you're doing. I hear Russ. I'm doing this kind of side to side head bob kind of to insinuate,
Starting point is 01:02:34 yeah, you know what I'm saying. I still don't know what you're saying even now that you've described what you were doing. All right. Yeah, that's why I'd be a good gym. It's the emotion I have attached to the players. Throw that back up, Jack. Now, Chevy, while I got you on the phone,
Starting point is 01:02:50 you're going to need to finish first that you should probably bolster your team because you do not want to play Colorado in round one. The avalanche are absolutely going to pass a banged up Minnesota wild team. That two three is a nightmare Chevy. You need Rasmus. And Codry.
Starting point is 01:03:05 Yeah, well, we sent scouts to the game in Philly the other night. Bad ice. I don't know. The ice was terrible. The humidity. They were very humble. You watched the briar. We also sent guys to the Four Nations and we didn't really see him there.
Starting point is 01:03:18 It was great in the third game. Bad coaching. Yeah. Oh, so now you can't trade Anderson. Oh, I'm just, you know what I'm doing? I'm mixing it. I'm teasing them. You're playing hard balls.
Starting point is 01:03:35 You're playing hardball? Yeah. Let's go to the cup odds from bet three, six, five, right near the top Carolina Hurricanes. Watch that number change. They trade. Rico, Ranson, and Oilers have been brutal. losses in what five of six six to seven
Starting point is 01:03:50 it's been ugly our buddy's about three six five need to like that's come on now too many honks are putting money on the oilers they can't put it at a premium I guess ripping them off it's good and terrors have moved up since the Seth Jones deal hurricanes have moved up since the ranton deal
Starting point is 01:04:05 we'll see if they move again if they move ran in again it's so confusing what about the lightning lightning at 14 to 1 they were 20 to 1 I got them November 21 I might put a big unit down on the old TBLs floppy unit on the lightning there Slap it right there. Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:20 We'll get to our bets later. Let's get to the probabilities from our favorite stats nerd, his mind, Dom at the athletic. He's got the hurricanes with the best chance to it. Now, that is still with Rantanin on their roster. This is going to be a big topic for the next 24 hours. Oilers checking out at 12% despite the ugly skid of late. Jetsy likes at 11% his model likes.
Starting point is 01:04:38 Stars, Panthers, Leaves, Lightning. Yeah, those are the contenders. That list are the contenders. What? Kings wants to get rampant. What is this? That's your probability on the far right column. For what?
Starting point is 01:04:48 winning the cup 14% 12% oh sorry my advisor so lots there i thought it was the devils at this pop devils have uh fallen off the odds after the crushing injury to jack hughes we'll get to in mere moments let's get to the news of last night before the injuries well how about just goats doing goat things because i did what there was a goat make oh i actually thought you were going to go 10 to go both that's good boys I don't like the Rangers
Starting point is 01:05:26 jerse is something come on just stick with the tradition there's Sam Carrick one of the guys that boy just give a first up to you that's what that's how Jack Hughes told you the bad news let's see it
Starting point is 01:05:37 in text I guess Frank not Frank we'll tell you about Frank in a bit you got to watch out for Frank this time here Jack Hughes season ending surgery placed an LTR got clicked and connected and twisted and tangled with Jack Eichol, hard into the endboard shoulder first. I'm not a doctor, but I just yelled collarbone at my TV.
Starting point is 01:05:56 Oh, live. Don't worry, though. He'll be ready to play again in September. Surgery, though. You don't do surgery for a collarbone, do you? Maybe not on my shoulder. Again, I'm not a doctor. I laid that out.
Starting point is 01:06:09 But you know everything. I know nothing. Yeah, it would just, I kind of, I am calling into question. medical assessment there. I do have to stipulate. If I haven't yet, I am not a doctor. Because I know when I broke my collarbone, they just put you in some kind of a weird brace.
Starting point is 01:06:26 There's no surgery. Maybe it's a shoulder. I'm thinking it might be more than a collarbone. Okay. But I've been proven wrong by medical doctors and pubs. The doctor's been wrong too. He said he'd be dead five years ago, right?
Starting point is 01:06:38 Screw him. More injuries? Well, first, geez. John Gibson. Look at you teasing us. A great year on a bad Jux team. Disinterested for it feels like a half decade. That is a save for the ages.
Starting point is 01:06:55 It's a piece of it on the sleeve of his glove. It's flipping in behind him, and he reaches behind his back to snare it as he's falling forward. Very impressive, John Gibson. He could have injured his shoulder. Well, and more on that in the moment. It might actually hit the pad, not the color of the line. And then, Oleg.
Starting point is 01:07:15 How? Unbelievable. That's what the cop does to your arm, right? When they throw in the drunk tank, he puts it right up there. It's no good. Jeez, that hurts. Stop it. Ah, okay.
Starting point is 01:07:25 I'll get in the car. Shoulder to stop. Move that way, officer. Okay. Okay. I'm not resisting. Not resisting. Don't you kind of talk to them into using like those extensions or something that they can?
Starting point is 01:07:34 Zip ties? Please. Officer. And then this, John gives it exits a game after a collision in his crease. I made my save. I'm out. Oh. This is the whole John Gibson experience.
Starting point is 01:07:48 You love him when he's right. He's not right enough because he's hurt or his give a shit leader is broken because the ducks have been so bad. John Gibson retires. What are? He was the great American goalie for a while. He really was. Because he's been there forever. I think they won five division titles in a row with John Gibson at the helm.
Starting point is 01:08:10 Mm-hmm. He was really good. He took Frederick Anderson's job. Yeah. that Redhead Dane was pissed. Yeah. Went to Toronto. Did he win a cup?
Starting point is 01:08:23 Was he there? What a cup? Has you been there that long? No, that was just you garer. That predates old gibby. I know. Frank, saying this today,
Starting point is 01:08:34 we have a new number one on our trade targets board. Sources say the canes are shifting. Compelling. Take that back. Through multiple compelling offers from Rico Rannan. So you trade. Nate just
Starting point is 01:08:48 what's Conroy? Second and a fourth jury and then Rantin flip here's the thing with Connie you can love Rantin wait till July 1 that's my advice to Connie
Starting point is 01:08:57 don't be given up if you get a chance to sign him you don't have to compete with everybody else if he's not going to sign with Carolina now I don't think he's gonna
Starting point is 01:09:05 Oh don't poo poo everything okay come on stay positive give him four first then whatever works you tell me so here is Rantan on the number one trade board
Starting point is 01:09:14 Frank elaborating on why he would be top of the list. Pending UFA, 4.625 A.A.V because half has been eaten by Chicago on the way. If Carolina eats half, he'd be a $2.3.125 million player. What a bargoon. Bargoon, indeed. Teams calling on Rattan and have been informed he is not signing the eight-year, 100-plus million-dollar deal.
Starting point is 01:09:36 It was put on the table prior to the deadline. He's left the hurricanes in the position of power. Why would you announce that? If you're... Why don't you shut your yell? Well, who announced? Well, the teams go out and ran and being informed. I would be like, you don't get to know what we offered him and he didn't take.
Starting point is 01:09:54 I don't think they were saying that I think it was that they know he's not going to sign for the deadline. He's available, make us your best offer. Teams understand what he's asking for, I think, given, you know, what happened in Colorado and here. Why do you hate Colorado or Carolina, Niko Raton? I like it. I just want to wait and get more. Why do you hate it? This just goes to your.
Starting point is 01:10:13 Rod the bod. It's misplaced. Not everybody loves Rod the Bond. You know what? I bet you Rod the Bod. He wants out too. I bet you. It's Dunden.
Starting point is 01:10:24 Stinky Dinkie. He maybe said, Hey, Nico. Do not sign here, dude. They have received what sources describe as multiple compelling offers for landing. And teams still have 24 hours to make their best deal.
Starting point is 01:10:36 First deadlines at 1 p.m. Mount tomorrow. Or the Keynes could keep the true game breaker. They've been missing for a playoff run in a bracket that appears to be set up nicely for them now. Why is it setting up nicely? Well, Washington's first year being good. New Jersey just lost Jack Hughes. Look like they're in trouble. Rangers are a shitstorm this year. Okay. You can make a case both ways. Right now it's best described as a true toss-up on which way it goes
Starting point is 01:10:57 with Rantanin, staying or going. Frank. I was compelled to eat two massive bowls of spaghetti at 1130 last night. Compelling offers from the... Because I opened the fridge and it... It was compelling. Yeah. Because then I had one bowl with lots of butter and parm. And it compelled me again. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:21 To redo the exact same. So I got so much energy. I carb-loaded. I made a compelling case to my wife that I should eat that last cassidy. And she said, get your hands off that. That's your sons for lunch tomorrow. Make yourself something else. You compelled her to punch you in the face.
Starting point is 01:11:38 I did make a compelling case. Yeah. predictions? Stay or go? He can stay if he want, if they want to keep him, it's not going to work. Balls in Carolina score. What, hey, look. Like, this is not just going to suddenly, he does not want to be there.
Starting point is 01:11:52 I would worry it that way at all. I really don't. They offered him $100 million. Everyone will offer him $100 million. Then he would sign it. I don't think he knows if he likes it or not. Like, go in a cup of it he signs. I think you're saying the same thing.
Starting point is 01:12:04 I'm saying he's not going to sign it's cooked. I'm saying there's a chance you can still sign. I'm saying if he's not signed it. If they need to, we need to know, trade deadline. Are you signing or not? I'm not signing. Okay, you're not signing. We're not winning a cup with you.
Starting point is 01:12:17 It hasn't worked now. It's not going to magically fix itself. So you're saying they absolutely have to trade him then. You may as well trade him. I would trade him. Yeah, you could get it. Unless, I mean, unless the, again, unless the offer is terrible, then you know. No, there'll be great offers.
Starting point is 01:12:32 They'll be great offers. But I would think you'll get something that's going to make you better. But you're going to get some nice. pieces. Like it didn't work out. I still think there's a way if you want to kind of go back. Well, we traded natius and whatever else. Can we get this type? Are we better? Are we better than we thought
Starting point is 01:12:49 we were going to be with Ranton? Maybe not. Brock Besson. But we're still better than what we thought we were going to be with Natchez and. Yes. Drury or whatever the hell it was. There's still a chance to. I agree. I don't think like, I think they're in a really good spot in the sense that yes, they wanted to lock this up this guy, but they couldn't.
Starting point is 01:13:05 But you either take this guy who you really liked and you thought would be a good fit and still might be, but hasn't really yet been that guy. And you're a better team than you were before the nature steal going into the playoffs. Or you can eat half the money and say, hey, every single contender. You can fit in Miko Ranton in now.
Starting point is 01:13:21 He was making nine and a half. We've now got him at 2.3 for you. Load us up with first prospects, players, whatever. Make us your best offer by Friday at noon. They've got two good options. They don't want first prospects. I'm not, I mean, maybe, yeah, I agree. Like, they're probably one
Starting point is 01:13:37 roster plays. They need another. This is a tough deal when you dig into it. So, and so you could do the Vancouver thing, which is trade Horvette for our first move, the first for Heronik and do that all in 24 hours. He did it again. Trade, J.T. Miller, take the first, get Marcus Pedersen. But you're right. The actual one for one deal is hard to make because a team that should
Starting point is 01:13:55 want Miko Ranton in the most when he's not ready to sign is a team that wants him as a rental for the playoffs. Yeah, they're not going to want to give up. I and talent that Caroline is going to want. And a pick out of Vancouver? Sure, yeah. I'd do that if I was Vancouver. Carolina?
Starting point is 01:14:11 I think maybe you get more. If you're worried about losing a guy for nothing, Bester's in the same spot. Now, that's just a prediction, right? Yeah, totally. The vibes aren't good. I say they'll walk him past because I think they are close to a cup
Starting point is 01:14:27 and I think he will look better than he has. My concern would be you're trading up to a team that can hopefully even the ass. Like imagine he ends up in Florida. someone said they're sniffing around them. It's like you have your own no trade list. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:43 It can't have to trade you to about half of the playoffs. Well, imagine him in Toronto. Like, geez, you can't trade them to Toronto. And so now it's like, yeah, teams are making compelling offers. But are we looking at just the return? LA. Are we looking at our part? LA is the team.
Starting point is 01:14:56 L.A. would be unreal. Again, all on the same page here. Make it miserable for L. for Edmont. Yes. Don't think it's fit in Evanton, boys. I don't know why. Just trust me on that.
Starting point is 01:15:06 We'll move quickly. Well, they could use a forward. He might have been if they hadn't signed Skinner. Jack Campbell's money would help right now. Did you imagine those picks that they gave up for fucking Garik and whoever the hell it was in Anaheim? Ugh. Dumb.
Starting point is 01:15:28 Keep it up, Edmonton. I was telling my Oilers buddies that he, grade three class could communally have run the team better over the last decade than what they've got. Bet your Oilers, buddies, really love that. Yeah, they're like, oh, pin her in the chat again. Mute. Let's get to some other news. Tab Bay Lightning's swung with offenses yesterday.
Starting point is 01:15:46 Nice deal. Yonnie Gord and Oliver Bjork Strand. They get a fifth. They give up a first to first and a second. Also, young fourth liner, energy guy, Siamont, and I hope I'd say that, right? I think I said something close to that. Yeah, they don't have first.
Starting point is 01:16:04 We showed you that they don't have picks, bleep them picks. We'll keep moving. It's other deal. Penguins made a deal, Jack. We need the immediate producer Jack reaction is Tommy Novak and Luke Shen have been added for going the other way. Michael Bunting. Yeah, I had no idea who Tommy Novak was.
Starting point is 01:16:23 But you told me about him this morning. So smaller guy. He was kind of in the tennis guy. Flames ether a little bit. Was he not? Centerman? He plays a young center. He's good on grass, but not on clay.
Starting point is 01:16:35 Yeah, he struggles. Yeah. Yeah. They didn't like him in Australia because he didn't, anyway, that was political. He doesn't put up. And Luke Shen,
Starting point is 01:16:42 how old is that guy? A thousand. It's from Saskatoon, so it's fine. I saw this and I wondered, is this from a year ago or two years ago? What is this? So there's a thought that the penguins might want Luke.
Starting point is 01:16:52 They might flip Shen. Yeah. And Novak, they've been collecting young pieces. They hate bunting is what it is. Get him the hell out of here, right, Jack? Yeah, he's gone.
Starting point is 01:17:02 Yeah. And Nashville's not blowing things up. So they probably think bunting and, help them next year. I don't know. Is there go ahead. All these great signings that Nashville made that aren't working out. Are they going to work out next year? How come nobody wants these
Starting point is 01:17:17 players? Go get Stamcoast. What about Stancoast for renting? I don't think Samcoast is on the block. They have designs are winning with Stamcoast next year and Stamcoast and Marshallsau designs are winning in Nashville next year. That's good luck. Some extensions. Matt Olivier.
Starting point is 01:17:36 Tough. Tough. What? Matthew Olivier, maybe the pound for pound best heavy in the league. Resigned six times three. A lot of term. Six times three. Reasonable A.A.V.
Starting point is 01:17:49 The other dummy. Bottom six enforcer leads the league in fights. Beats up Rempay. I would have had a really nice season not fighting as well on the ice. Like penalty killing. Not doing it there, actually. Defense has been good and 10 plus goals before Christmas. good player.
Starting point is 01:18:09 So they give them all the term to keep the AAV low. You know what? Hey, good for him. Hell yeah. Because as you see there, shooting percentage is double his career average. Yeah. So if he was at six years,
Starting point is 01:18:21 it's probably more normal. I'm going to beat up some guys. I got some puck luck, 10 before Christmas. He's playing third line minutes. 18 million. That's not a goon. That's a tough guy plus.
Starting point is 01:18:31 But I would dare say that a year ago, we couldn't pick him out of a lineup. Oh, yeah, we could. He's been heavy in the league for three or four years. Real good heavy. That you're paying $18 million? No, this is the best case scenario for Matthew.
Starting point is 01:18:45 Oh, yeah, contractually, yeah, 100%. No, we're great for him. We'd heard of them. There's no way to give him six years. I think he could have gone. If he'd have been in Buffalo, they'd have been. Yeah, maybe that's true.
Starting point is 01:18:53 Seven times seven. Give him the Christian Air Hoff deal. Holy spot. I'm going to need the sea. Speaking of which, Jordan Greenway, two years, four million. Also a great signing. Way to go. If you need some reaction, rewind the podcast.
Starting point is 01:19:06 We can't do that again. Other news. Let's jump around the league. What have we got, Jack? Let's fire him up one by one. Dumlin goes to the Devils this morning. That was a good reminder that, yes, Brian Dumlin is still in the NHL. It goes from Anaheim to the Devils who are reeling.
Starting point is 01:19:19 They're not playing well. And they just lost Jack Hughes. And I think he sure's out. He had three second rounders. Okay. And Traff was really good for Cavalry FC in that run. Yeah, Mason, Luffington. Or Charlie, yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:31 Cam Robinson, our good buddy. My good buddy. So I'm in Vegas. Carolina. Speaking some people around the league, I think it's fair to say that Brand Clark is actively available. Internal discussions have teams wondering if he'll be able to reach his ceiling or end up as a power play specialist. LA shouldn't be in a rush, though. Another year of control before RFA is this type of player Connie should be on it.
Starting point is 01:19:52 This is a standings proof trade. Go add a young player that helps your core for the next 10 years. Yeah, but what's he given to LA? That's a good question. Maybe I'll answer Sanderson. I do that. Go ahead. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 01:20:04 Well, I thought we did this the other day and we gave Bob Germany shit because we were like, not trading brand. I agree. That's why you'd love to do it if you could do it for Asmus. Yeah, of course. We, yeah. You still feel the same way? Yeah, I would still do that deal.
Starting point is 01:20:18 Absolutely. Absolutely. The 23-year-old with better numbers. Yeah, I'll do that. Next, what do we got? More news? Got news. News, news.
Starting point is 01:20:25 Utah has signed a guy that Jack didn't know existed. That's Carmel Ventimoka or Karel Vemelka. We're very hockey-oriented. We expect you to know your stuff if you're going to be hanging around here. Jack's first words this morning. you think Rhett knows who this Vamelka guy is? I said, yeah, we made fun of his name for three years ago on the old show. These goalie deals are like wild to me.
Starting point is 01:20:46 I don't, I don't get it. If you're a mid-goly, no one knows and they just throw four to five at you. Yeah, and five years. We have to have somebody to put it in. Is there a world shortage in goalies? Like, well, yes, when you watch, it feels like a surplus of mid-goleys and an absolute dearth of high-end goalies. Jesus, look at this right, you're going to have to pay the three goalies because they're going
Starting point is 01:21:06 14 million. Like Lankin and. couldn't get a job September 1, five-year deal. What the hell is going on with goalers? It's back to my idea. We need to start an agency because clearly these agents are smarter than any of the other people involved in the game of hockey. Now, I mean, this is a homegrown guy. To be fair, I don't say this is the same as the Lankan.
Starting point is 01:21:28 And this is a guy. He was a coyote. And then here, and it's under $5 million. I like that deal. It's fine. Yeah. I like that more than the Lankan. I think it's very similar to the Joy to Court.
Starting point is 01:21:37 It's a lower A.A.V. I have no problem with that deal. But it does seem like there's some goalies, like you say, if it was an average fan, it's like, I don't know, Joey DeCord or Vamalka or Lankinant, and they're all making $5 million. Yeah, but what are the goals you do know? Well, your top 10 to 12 are pretty easy.
Starting point is 01:21:53 It's your Hella Bucs, Sorokin. I know, but that's my point. Yeah. If you don't have one of those guys, you're going to platoon. That seems to be what the platoon rate is. If you're a 1A and you're going to play 45 games, this is what you make. And the young Pinderboy is not interested in platooning.
Starting point is 01:22:07 Too young? He's a 1A. he's a, like, don't give me your bull. Alternating starts. Oh, for me that crap. It's your 11. He's not a free agent. Is he the,
Starting point is 01:22:16 the one that's getting Ron Hickstalled or run heckstalling other people? He got Bertuzied. I see. Yeah. Or was a Bresher, which one got to. Brash. Yeah. The other one.
Starting point is 01:22:28 The Willie Platt one, though, like Brash did some nasty business. Or Marty did some nasty business. Yeah. Brash. But the Willie Platt, if you go back, far enough. There was a lot of those. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:42 Two-hander's pretty common. Can you find it or not, Jack? I've got a stick right here. I'm going to use it. I'm in a foul mood and not afraid. You're kind of getting out. Do you know what time I got in last night? I am not happy.
Starting point is 01:22:53 I'm hung over and angry. Don't bother me. And there's effing coach and these stupid morning scape. You know, technology and stuff. Other news to run the league Jackers? I was just trying to move the thing in the night. That's fine. I'm hit it.
Starting point is 01:23:06 Now here's the thing. This type of year you have to be careful for fake insiders. Yeah. Because look, that looks like our boy, right? But read it closely. What's his name? It's,
Starting point is 01:23:15 that's Frank. So there's Franks out there trying to trick you. And like, Frank here is saying that the random Pedersen swap, hit a snag. They're trying to clarify which Elias Pedersen they're discussing because, of course, Vancouver is too. And then Patrick Alvin says the good one,
Starting point is 01:23:29 and that only adds more confusion. I like it. Look at Frog. I don't know. The scary guy! He's got the blue check mark there. He just paid. Frank going actually.
Starting point is 01:23:40 Oh, Elon did that. Photoshop. You just pay and you get the check mark now. Did he commit to the Franks, Saravelli bit to the point that he put money down on a. Oh, yeah, yeah, nine months bucks a month. Franks ended it to win it. Franks kept an eye on Frank for tomorrow, okay?
Starting point is 01:23:55 Franks had a couple of big deal. To Frank. Do you get on the show? Frank can come on our show tomorrow. Yes. That's the awesome. Jack, let's reach out to Frank. and see what he's got going tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:24:08 He might be busy. Yeah. No, he won't be because he's verified. He's got a blue check part. He loves the show. I know that and he'll carve out some time for us. Cronk. What else we got Jack?
Starting point is 01:24:24 Oh, the Wranglers are struggling, boys. We'll get to the NHL slate tonight right after this. Oh, let's have Devin Cooley come up and take over the net. Well, and you know what? Before his injury on January 10th, threat, that is what we were saying because he was sporting a nine, suck it up. 35. Since then,
Starting point is 01:24:41 875, 380. He's gone from Dustin Wolf and he's turned into Stuart Skinner. It's been rough. Who, like, what's this injury? I'm good.
Starting point is 01:24:52 I might suggest that maybe he's not fully healed. I would also. And maybe needs some more time. Yeah, or it's like, yeah, that's just not going to work that way anymore. Oh, dear. Yeah, they've kind of been depleted as well.
Starting point is 01:25:04 It doesn't help. But not ideal for the Wranglers who looked like they were in, cruise control to top seed in the playoffs and now have lost 11 of 12. Zane Prex still good at hockey. Red hates him, but everyone else loves them. 99 points on the season. I don't hate him, but you guys are putting unnecessary pressure on the screen.
Starting point is 01:25:23 He and Bobby Orr have scored back-to-back 30 goals seasons in the OHL slash OHA. No one else has been in that club, but that's not. It's usually good enough to move up and play in the NHL. There is that. Ryan Ellis was close, but he, he stayed in that league way longer than probably will. Short. Small. Small. Frank. Do you know what Frank was like a real good shape? Well, I feel like the, the headshot was, there'd been some tinkering.
Starting point is 01:25:55 Not so much with the suit, the torso look. Jack and I were looking at the news, like, God, Frank's looking good. And they were like, wait, this, we're getting duped. They're pulling the wall over our eyes. AI. Friggin' AI. Soon enough, we won't build. Look how shiny his faces.
Starting point is 01:26:11 It's not a single wrinkle. Boy, I hope we get him tomorrow. That would be a highlight. Frunk? Yes. God, that'd be great. Do you think he's going to have like some weird rivalry with Frank? Like, just like,
Starting point is 01:26:23 unlike Frank, I'm hearing this. We'll get him to call the GM. Say, I'm sorry. Who is this? Did you say Frank? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:36 I'm frog in my throat, time. Prong. Tonight's games in the NHL. Let's take a peek at it. We already saw the shoveler in my picks for tonight's games. Big slate. Oh, yeah. Pick a game.
Starting point is 01:26:47 You'll watch. Pick a game. I don't mind Utah, Detroit. Those teams trying to stay in the thick. Columbus, Florida should be interesting. Blue jackets have won four or five. So of them. Frickin Panthers.
Starting point is 01:26:58 I really want the sabers to win for the shovelers sake. But on the other hand, when you do something stupid, I feel like I want you to get punched in the face too. Well, the boys will be super jacked to know that Jordan Greenway is around for the next two years and there's less money for the rest of them. Yeah. Don't have that Jordan Greenway trade hanging over us. We can really focus now.
Starting point is 01:27:21 Go out and get at it. Let's get some dumb shit. Do you keep ranting it out of the lineup if you're the Carolina hurricane? So you've got to play them because you need points. If you're trading them, I don't think they're convinced they're trading them. I think they're literally open-minded going into tomorrow where they're just like, make us your best offer. well, we're happy to keep them. We're good with them. But by all means, make it so good, we have to trade them.
Starting point is 01:27:41 It's terrible. They're not scratching them if you're asking me. He plays tonight. Everything's wonderful. And we're just going to roll along it. Thanks for your opinion. Keep going. I got lunch to get to.
Starting point is 01:27:57 Let's go. I'm sorry. Jesus. Didn't know about that. What is it today? Shwarma. Oh, yeah. Shwama's good.
Starting point is 01:28:02 With, uh, what did he call him? Uh, Doug. Jake. it's Anderson no the snake Jake Dillon hall remember Audi Doug
Starting point is 01:28:16 oh yes the golf yeah yeah yeah j ratskins he's been a good dog yeah we went fishing with him
Starting point is 01:28:24 yeah hell of a fish great fisherman do you have any dolphin fans in your life like dolphins fish or the football football
Starting point is 01:28:33 F them I said friend okay anyway everyone knows some guys that like the dolphins Imagine you could actually play football with a dolphin. Go to Florida. He's smart.
Starting point is 01:28:45 He's throwing you up. Yes, he is. Look at that. Hold on, hold on. All right. There you go. He wants it right there. Don't go too far.
Starting point is 01:28:53 I'll be open. Crossing road. Oh, you almost got it. Okay. That is so epic. Now that's a pacism and turn again. He's going to start. Again, again, again, again.
Starting point is 01:29:04 All over. You're in the tank. Get a dolphin. Dean the dolphin dean better than dog how good is that playing catch of the dog that's right right wants to move to Florida could we go play catch just all cups and dolphins yeah could we go play catch with the I would love to the the Russians do that yeah a mountain lion like if we run into something in the wild out here can yeah some gonna toss the ball big fella some grizzly bear then he gives you one of these
Starting point is 01:29:37 then all your intestines just fall to the ground. Well, that's not good. I just wanted to play catch. Game over. Fetch! Now I'm dead. We're talking about a big boxing match after that Jake Paul, Mike Tyson charade.
Starting point is 01:29:51 We could do it at the block party. We also got Mike Golden Cammy lined up. That's the one. We've taken a lot of bets coming in on Cammy. We've got to move the line on that one. So maybe you and I, boom, a celebrity match. We'll get Cammy and Mike. And then we've got to just rent this balloon.
Starting point is 01:30:05 doing it 3,000 feet Is the announcer in there? You do not want to get T-K-Oed into the... Oh, boy. Off the ropes. Get off the ropes. No rope atop. Get in there.
Starting point is 01:30:23 Oh, there's a lot of no-as for me there. Yep. That's... That is not an ideal spot for me. Now, who was the guy of the old show that was the balloon operator? Oh, yeah. Wetherdale.
Starting point is 01:30:37 Yeah, Wetherdale. Wetherdale. Wrent. Weatherdale. How do you steer those things? I have no idea. I don't know. This is going to really?
Starting point is 01:30:46 See you later. When you're back? No idea. No idea. Where are you going to land? I don't know. Where do I pick you up? Earth, hopefully.
Starting point is 01:30:55 Follow us. Yeah, you'll see us. I'll be up there. Rhett, you're a remarkable athlete and you found a way to do things differently. Today's NHL, kids show up the camp in shape. They don't just pound training camp without skating once. Oh my God. That's incredible.
Starting point is 01:31:13 Can you say that again slower? No. One more time. We need the drop. Can't admit it. It was a different era. It was a different era. Remember when you ran that marathon when you were still ramming a pack a day?
Starting point is 01:31:29 We got video of it. It's pretty good. Yes. In 2022, a man from China, a chain smoker completed a marathon in less than three and a half hours. Don't believe us. Was he compelled to eat two bowls of spaghetti? He was compelled to have another dart. He was a carb load too.
Starting point is 01:31:47 Look at them there. How do you care? These are the real guys that deserve metals. And you know what? Let's go right now. High five. This is way better than your usual bullshit. They got those energy gels and protein.
Starting point is 01:32:04 I'm talking about the Pindler report. This was all me. You're at. I found this one. I sent this deal last week. I did. Jack is finally flexing some muscle in the pinhole. I'll go find it.
Starting point is 01:32:17 I sent this ages ago. Maybe it was a different chat, but I got receipts. Okay. Now they're going to argue over who's. I get receipts. Truth. Yeah. Unlike Elon's Twitter,
Starting point is 01:32:27 everyone can get a verified checkmark for paying $9. We're going to find the real truth. Yeah, Elon, you're the worst. That's right. 14 kids. With 12 different moms. What the fuck the difference does it make to him? Yeah, it's not going to.
Starting point is 01:32:41 He's got so many hobbies. Spence. Get that one. IVF for like all the two. The top of the list. I don't know what his hobbies are. Is it collecting kids or is a mating? It's weird.
Starting point is 01:32:52 He's good at it. IVF thing, yeah. Yeah. Is that the word? Farrell? There? Yeah. Maybe.
Starting point is 01:33:00 Now, Rett's dog. You want a dog. I want a dolphin. I know, but that's why you got rid of your dog. He dropped it on Dean's doorstep when he disappeared for COVID, with no notice. two knocks in a box of leashes and collars and 50 bucks for a vaccination. But you have a Harley, as we told.
Starting point is 01:33:17 And so whenever your Harley's around Dean's house, the dog gets super excited because you're members for it. It's actually kind of heartwarming. Oh, that's fun. And you're really nice. The lipstick going on everything. Buddy. All right.
Starting point is 01:33:45 Everybody. You settled out. Jack, you went from high on my list. It's been a while. It's been a while. Absolutely. Hey, you were high-fiving him about a minute ago. But that's because I thought he'd take it back.
Starting point is 01:33:57 I should know better. We'll find some more boxing on top of a balloon tomorrow, but that's today's been report. Your dog misses you, your dog misses you. You broke. No one in the world wanted that or needs to. A lipstick. And he's got the giggles again.
Starting point is 01:34:13 I know. It's very funny to him. I don't get it. He missed you. The dog. Village Honda. It's that million dollar buy-in event. If you are thinking of trading in your vehicle,
Starting point is 01:34:27 you remain not even thinking about it. But then all of a sudden. Go in and talk to him. Maybe. What's the harm in finding out? Complimentary appraisals. Payment within 24 hours. Competitive trade, buy-in values.
Starting point is 01:34:39 They want to buy your pre-owned vehicle, even if you don't buy theirs. Begin the process online at Village. Honda.com. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We'll get our bets in here. Game day bets.
Starting point is 01:34:57 Game day bets. I believe we do have some super chat. Stuff going. We'll tee up our trade deadline day coverage for tomorrow. But we are also, it's March. So things get exciting, right? It's March.
Starting point is 01:35:13 It's bad. There's a lot of madness. Golf's getting good. Lots going. on. And we are also going to be doing something very exciting in the spirit of competition. Here's a little taste. The month of March is here. Time once again for the ultimate showdown to determine who will be deemed champion. The challengers have arrived. The stage is set. Who will rise to the top
Starting point is 01:35:43 and claim the crown? What basketball? No, fuck. It's time for the world-renowned barn burner candy bracket, a battle of epic proportions, a contest of sugar highs and an exploration of humanity's most important question, what is the best candy? Gummy bears, Skittles, Swedish berries, fuzzy peaches, the big swinging dicks of the candy world are ready to reign supreme. Or could it be a dark horse, sourpatch kids, starbursts, jolly ranchers, The debate is fierce. The emotions are raw. Blowouts, upsets,
Starting point is 01:36:25 controversy, maybe even a Cinderella story. All to determine who will taste sweet victory. The sugar-fueled frenzy is back. The Barnburner candy bracket. Oh, wow. It is back. I'm going to say, it's emotional just because it was during COVID
Starting point is 01:36:48 on the radio show we did it. Is it five years? Probably roughly. Four or five years ago, we with, now remember, still doing radio every day, there is no sports. None. There's no activity. Nothing is happening. Everyone is sitting at home.
Starting point is 01:37:03 Well, not everybody, but not everyone. Some of us are in the Florida Keys. Yeah. Some people are open about kissing and. Jesus. Swinging in the Keys. In Roca Baton or whatever it is. Hey, the candy bracket, we did it.
Starting point is 01:37:16 It was kind of a goof. People really liked it. We then did candy bars and chips and all kinds of stuff. Cocktail bracket. It is very typical that a lot of times wherever we go, it's not, hey, I saw that interview you had with that Hall of Famer. LeBron James. That was awesome.
Starting point is 01:37:35 There's none of that. Love the candy bracket. That was awesome. I can't believe that Starburst got robbed in round two. So we are going to, we're getting ready. We're bringing it back. It is a presentation of. of Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating

Starting point is 01:39:34 yes, I can handle that. 23 degrees summertime. Look at that, dude. Oh, Rhett. Stretching out there with his just obnoxiously, long arms, hogging the whole hot tub to himself. Soking. So thank you to those, those kind ladies and gentlemen, handsome Dan's vacation rentals,
Starting point is 01:39:54 and of course, crystal waters plumbing and heating. The bracket is, we put a lot of work in behind the scenes. We pulled a lot of people just because how do you build the bracket? Because you're going to, in the spirit of a, of a competition, you're going to have some higher seeds are deemed higher and there's going to be some of you feel are lower. Underdogs, dark horses. Yeah. You got to figure that out. And with the bracket, 16 felt like a good number.
Starting point is 01:40:27 Tough to get down to 16. But it was tough to get down there. A lot of good candies out there. There might be a wild card round to help us set up the final couple spots, I think. Well, I know in the NCAA March Madness tournament, they now have 68 teams and there's the four teams play in to the bracket. And so really it's it's a play in round before the bracket, which it's just a bonanza. It's more ratings. It's more candy in our case.
Starting point is 01:40:51 I think we should do it. We're going to have the, uh, we'll have all the info on this. How you vote, your votes will matter. Yes. That's a team's advance or lose or get upset or continue to roll. That's right. And people did oddly get kind of protective of their candies. Really?
Starting point is 01:41:08 This is bullshit. Strong opinion. How is this considered a one seat? This is garbage. This is trash. This one needs to be high. Like, that's a bullshit. Twizzers getting screwed.
Starting point is 01:41:18 I don't know what to tell you. It was just we kind of picked a bunch of candies. Selection committee does not know what they're talking about with these soft candies. I mean, they are just out to lunch. So we've put a lot into it. It will start very soon, but we wanted to thank those two sponsors for coming on board. We'll have some fun with it. I think we will.
Starting point is 01:41:34 Yeah, we'll have some fun with details coming up. We'll probably get that if, in fact, the rumors are true that there's a play in. That will probably start early next week. Let's uh we have a trade you have a trade to announce whoa whoa whoa whoa yeah you want to do this uh barn burner we do have breaking news this morning Riley Smith is having back greats oh my goodness one of the original golden nights oh gee everything old is new again everyone's going back home yon board is in Tampa
Starting point is 01:42:18 Riley Smith is in Vegas. Wow. He was a misfit, right? Yeah, he was one of the misfits. Mars or so was one of the latest to leave. There's not many left. Is there anything else for the traders? Is the futures jack or is there?
Starting point is 01:42:33 Do we have the return yet? Brendan Brisson? Or Brisson? Is it Brendan Brisson? That's the only first rounder that they hadn't traded. It's Pat Brisson's kid, the agent. Rison, I think, is a 2019 first rounder, the Vegas Gold Knights. They've traded all these first rounders.
Starting point is 01:42:49 it's wild uh he was the one last man standing and he finally gets traded as we knew he would because he's a first rounder in megas incredible there you go pat's good you know pat pat is pissed might be is he gets to play with sid he's not fit pittsburgh instead of vegas are you kidding me too bus continues to get young guys they're not chasing this anymore i wonder if they move carlson where to go kyle uh this is frank not Frank. Okay. Just because like you said, you have to kind of keep an eye on it.
Starting point is 01:43:23 That time of here. Waivers going through Jordan Austerley, who I believe just scored off of someone's pants the other night, is off to Nashville, as is Jacob Verana. Verana has been a very, very good goal score that's had a very tough time staying in the lineup and has been in the Pleasure Assistance program, if I'm correct. Columbus claims Christian Fisher. and waivers today. Ryan Reeves of the Leafs.
Starting point is 01:43:51 That will be opening cap space that they may or may not need tomorrow. I'm laughing because again, when he signed that deal, most people are not. And I don't look too deep into this. When you get past the deadline tomorrow, you can have as many bodies up as you want. Reeves can be back. This is
Starting point is 01:44:09 to open space for the cap because he makes a lot of money. I don't think anyone's weary of a Reeves claim or that he's going to finish the year of the A personal. He's shit now, isn't he? Yeah, Vegas. Just further down, I'm sorry, if you did mention the, it's a third rounder and Brasson. Okay.
Starting point is 01:44:29 To the Rangers for Riley Smith. San Jose's third. So what are the Rangers up to? I'm not sure they were thrilled with Riley Smith. No, but they're in a spot to push for the playoffs. And I'm not, it's a curiosity, not a criticism. So I know I've been a pick of a young player for a guy. And then they move out Lindgren last week as a good player.
Starting point is 01:44:50 Like it kind of feels like the same. Look, we might get in this year, but we're going to shape, shift, a little shift shape and maybe take a run in some guys in free age. Like if you're Miko Raton, where you say no to the, the Rangers, Rangers are tied with 67 points for that final. They played one more game than has on. Yeah, I don't. Chris Drury, hard to figure out a little bit.
Starting point is 01:45:14 Same of the owner. He's had quite a year. I would think that it's, yeah, whatever. Yeah. Whatever indeed, Red. Well, Pinder said it. I believe the owner would have some. Big time.
Starting point is 01:45:26 Yeah. Can I do this? No. What about this? No, do this. Okay. Okay. Are you sure about the get out of my office?
Starting point is 01:45:34 It's almost time for rehearsal. I need to tune my Gretch. That's got one. Service Credit Union. The Big Share Contest, is back. Starting point is 01:46:21 But who else is offered you? Who else is saying, hey, if you come on in, come on over, it could be a million dollars richer in about a month. I haven't heard that from anyone. Not many. No. Maybe Jordan Greenway with the Sabres. Yeah, service wouldn't do that deal.
Starting point is 01:46:37 That's true. Aside from the peculas. Service.com slash win. Service credit union. game day, bets of the day. On our buddy with your buddy's bet 365. The app is awesome.
Starting point is 01:46:53 So many markets, so many teams, so many sports, so many options. It's going on. Champions League. I'm telling you, you threw it out there, that Tampa Bay. Futures, 14-1. Just like that number. Yeah, I like that number two. They got as good a chance just about what I would think as anybody.
Starting point is 01:47:09 Why not Tampa at this point? Why not? That 365. whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at bet three, six five. Taking the under. Well, this is weird because Dallas has just been absolutely crushing overs. The flames on this road trip have played one team that's not a contender. That's the only game they've gone over.
Starting point is 01:47:31 Washington under, Tampa under, Carolina under, Florida under. And look, Vladar has been awesome. I don't love this setup for the flames in terms of Dallas, a really good team, but I do like the under at minus 115. And Rope Hince has been on a nice little shoot. a shooting heater. He scored twice, I think,
Starting point is 01:47:49 against the flames when they met earlier and 6-2 victory over Calgary and had a ton of shots and he's just rolling right now. Hints, three plus shots on that plus 155. There's hints.
Starting point is 01:48:00 Yeah, he's five, is this right? I'll have to double check it. Either way, he's on a five-game point streak. He's playing very well. There go.
Starting point is 01:48:09 Yeah, three shots. He is playing very well right now. Hints to the under. Get the app. Bet, 65, whatever the moment, it's never ordinary. And I know it was, it came in a little bit late there, but, uh, hey, how about it?
Starting point is 01:48:21 We've got some super chat during the course of the show, put some money into the chat. We'll take the money, get it to the youth centers of Calgary, and then we'll take your comment and put it on the show. As we close, there's Patrick, $2.19. F it. Let's start drinking. Origin pioneer IPAs. That is a great IPA. That is the attitude, Patrick. You link an IPA. That is a great IPA.
Starting point is 01:48:47 Best ones for Pat. There you go. Good. You've been sitting on that for months. Let's go. Yes. Origin Pioneer IPA. Pat,
Starting point is 01:48:56 we'll see you tomorrow, buddy. That's tomorrow we'll tell you about that before. We'll have a few for Pat. Thanks for the, thanks for that. Benjamin, this happens.
Starting point is 01:49:04 People that we're going to get in. That's a $6.99. And then they'll come back and say, I forgot to do the thing. Don't think I did it right the first time. I got you. You're good. Lost a great beer leaguer to overdose yesterday.
Starting point is 01:49:17 No. Our loss, youth centers gain. Rest well, Curtis Naler. Sad to hear that, Ben. You hate to hear it. T's and peas to Curtis, Curtis's family and all of his friends there. That's rough, man. That's where, and we kind of talk about, use centers of Calgary.
Starting point is 01:49:36 Get kids in an environment where we're, we're living. Positive environment. Positive environments. influences for sure. So thanks for that, Benjamin. Appreciate that as we passed along. And there's Brett. Barton Hagen.
Starting point is 01:49:52 Brett. Double B. It's coming. What are you taking over and bringing a cup here? It's coming. As you can tell from the Sabres experiment with Kevin Adams, it's a clear path just to step in. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:05 So what was Brett doing before this? He was badmouthing the team on a podcast. Okay, well, he's ready. All right. Also, the ownership loves it when we talk crap about the squads. Yeah, totally. Big fans of that. How's the feedback been on that front?
Starting point is 01:50:17 Mattahue, two bucks. Is that a Honda bike? We're so horny for Honda. They have some great bikes at, uh, yeah. They have that old vintage one was in 1980. That yellow one at the village, gorgeous. I'm not sure what kind of bike it was, Maddie. And he's so horny, he put another one in and said the same thing.
Starting point is 01:50:36 Four bucks worth of, uh, really horny for Honda. See, Rhett? And you were criticized. I was wrong. That's four bucks. did receive a tech from a sponsor about that as well already. Really? Weird.
Starting point is 01:50:51 Well, I'm actually glad. Hopefully it was some positive criticism. They loved it. So we're going to try to find more for tomorrow. Right. There you have it. Now, tomorrow, what's, this is the off air conversation.
Starting point is 01:51:03 Yeah, let's do it on air. That's great. What time are we starting? Well, we usually say we start at 10, but it's usually actually 1020. So what if we say we start at 9.30? I don't start at the same time and just be done early. Like what? Because we want to have Dragger tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:51:15 because Drags is all locked up with the trade center coverage or TSN. We don't need to start early. Don't need to. It's not. It doesn't have to do. It's decided then. Start at 10. Jack, your thoughts.
Starting point is 01:51:25 Start at 10, done around 11, deadline show 1130 to 2. Oh. Is that too long for you, right? Well, what's going to be in the room and that's, I'll be fine. All right. So Barnburner at its usual time, which is hard to nail down. It really is. And then picking up a watermelon seed.
Starting point is 01:51:47 We are going to have our, a lot of people are doing it. TSN, sports and that daily face off. There's a lot of, I mean, I see the NHL network's doing one. The people you trust. Trade deadline day coverage to not only break the news, but then give you their opinions, their thoughts, respected opinion makers. We're also going to do one. We'll try and tell you who gets traded.
Starting point is 01:52:15 Might get busy, though, because it could be so busy. there might be some that slip through the cracks. We may not know all the players that get drafted or that get traded, pardon me. I also heard we have food coming. Yeah, because there's going to be food. Bon Ton, meat market is on board, sponsorship, and already, the details are coming in. I've been told no. No, Hagus?
Starting point is 01:52:36 I don't know. Anyone allergic to garlic? God, no. I said, I think that's highly unlikely. Already sleeping in the basement. Then it said, be hungry. your sidekicks are going to have messy beards. I could guess, but I might just.
Starting point is 01:52:57 So that's, so yeah, we're going to, uh, have our, our own very barn burner esk trade deadline day coverage tomorrow, presented by Bontan meat market, 28 crowfoot circle in Northwest. Does he have bibs? I feel like we'll need bibs tomorrow. Well, napkins at least. Yeah, he does send a pile of napkins, usually. Proud to the Calgary and Southern Alberta's consumer.
Starting point is 01:53:19 Choice Award winner for Best Meat and Deli for 24 consecutive years in store made salads, desserts, and then of course, the best meat going. Okay. I just had a crazy idea. Look at the logo. It's probably Greg or some reasonable facsimile of Greg. He's wearing the bontan apron. That's what we need in studio.
Starting point is 01:53:43 So when we're eating, we can slide them on. Otherwise, they hang in the back. Genius. I don't mind, but. I like that. They'll sometimes wear the half, like the waist down, which doesn't do a lot for drips. We're going to need the full, not the halves. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:54:01 Bontom meat market and origin brewing. Oh, baby. So it's basically what you're doing. You guys are just going to eat and drink beer and watch the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Basically.
Starting point is 01:54:15 That's what's going to happen. You're going to have some people visit. Or we could have got up early. and did the full 17 hours of nothing. Oh, yeah. These are tough days for the real broadcasters and people that aren't eating. Hey, talk about something that's not happening
Starting point is 01:54:29 and won't happen. Yeah, so Sidney Crosby, I'm hearing he hasn't yet asked to be moved to Colorado. The latest on that. Jack, is Sidney Crosby still a member of the Penguins? Let's go to the Penguins desk, Jack. Breaking News.
Starting point is 01:54:42 Sydney Crosby is still a member of the penguins. There you go. That'll be the Bonton Breaking News desk. We will have that for you tomorrow. And I would think, lot of clarity on who's not been traded. Yeah, okay. If you're curious.
Starting point is 01:54:56 Or other stuff. You know, man, I hope they don't trade Kail McCar. Maybe he does get traded. I'd be a big blow. We'll be on top of it. And if he doesn't, we'll be sure to let you know. Would the Keynes do that for Rantman? I bet. Oh, that'd be a huge deal. Rantanin for McGar?
Starting point is 01:55:10 Wow. Yeah. So that's coming up on the show tomorrow. A good one. Yeah. Stars flames. Afterburner, Gold and myself. There you go.
Starting point is 01:55:21 Six o'clock start. Probably 9 p.m. Barber and we'll see you then. Come hang, buddy. See you, buddy.
