Starting point is 00:00:01 Hello everyone and welcome to the Wednesday edition, Hump Day edition of the Barnburner. But it was a short week, so is it? I was just thinking about that. Yeah, good question. Are we still humping today when really it's kind of day two? I hump every day, Dean. Yeah. Humping and lumping.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Go on. Humping and lumping. Yeah. It's a great pelvic floor. Damn right. It is. Keep it busy. I can't wait.
Starting point is 00:00:29 I'm going to tell you all about it. Aroused later. It's going to be great. It's going to be great. Here we are. It is a presentation. This thing that we're doing, it's a presentation of Bet365, the world's largest sports betting platform. Get that account open if you haven't already when you do it. You still sign it up before you've been kind of just kind of dipping a toll. Now you're ready to do it.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Use a promo code nation when you do, whatever the moment. It's never ordinary with Beth 365. And oh, hey, look at the, we've got the super chat. If you are inside the YouTube going live today, if you put in a comment with a little bit of a cash donation, we'll show your your wisdom on the show. And then we will pass along the dough to the centers of Gallagery. Wise.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Where'd you go? Just I like the comments on. I don't always have them on, but with just you in the studio, like to see what's happening. Nothing really there. Some good mornings. It's an interesting little community that they,
Starting point is 00:01:22 that the listeners and people. It is. Yeah. Because a lot of people consume the show that aren't hanging in the comments every day, but there are people that are in the comments. every day. And Rhett, you can't see them, but it actually, you know what, it gets a little spicy. People get in there and they get fighting with one another.
Starting point is 00:01:36 I can turn them on them at home, but my eye couldn't see them anyway. I need them. Yeah. Do we need to get you some spectacles? Oh, four shizzle, Dean. Yeah. Have you, because you are a reader, have you noticed that you're needing to? Oh, major. I got little nighttimey things. Little hafers. Nighttimey things. Yeah, what, readers, they're called. right? Yeah. Well, you've had the, the blue blockers for a long time. Blue blockers, readers now. Yeah. It's the best. Yeah. I love opt, I'm an optician. You're an optimist. You are. Yeah. Optim. Yeah. Optim. Yeah. Optimized. Glass is half full. That's what it says. That's what it is. Glass is half, halfway up.
Starting point is 00:02:22 Uh, we're sitting and we're waiting. We're waiting and we're sitting. Everybody's still talking about it, getting ready for Thursday. Ret, do you have plans yesterday as you were leaving the studio? It was, you were kind of, hmm, what am I doing? Am I having people over? Am I going out? Am I staying home and having nobody around me so I can just watch the game? People pissing me off, distracting me. See, this is the problem.
Starting point is 00:02:41 You've had this issue before where you make commitments to one thing and then something changes so then that's supposed to change. Pinder screwed me because today we were supposed to meet with someone and then that's happening tomorrow. And so that all changes. And now the camera's following me around. I'm going to have people over and you, you're more than welcome to come over. Everyone. Anyone listening?
Starting point is 00:03:01 Is that right? One, two, three, Rhett Boulevard. Yeah. Twice. The garage door will be up one panel off the ground. 969 party place, Calgary, Alberta. So yeah, the shoveler's out getting some, I'll bet she's being cheeky. I'll bet you she went out.
Starting point is 00:03:21 She's supposed to be getting some maple leaf gear, some red and white. Oh, you know what she. She's going to show up with her. She's going to have that big Uncle Sam hat with the stars on it and the stripes. Yeah. Oh, and she's going to try and stir the pot a little. I'm sure she'll get a mega, some sort of, like, there will definitely be definitely. Well, who you cheering for at?
Starting point is 00:03:44 I'm Canadian. Okay, very good. Yeah. Yeah. Check him in. Wasn't there a Homer Simpson one where he's like got like, like there's fireworks. It's like handheld fire. Dad, that, that, that's got the big, the big American hat.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Something like that. That'll be the shoveler when she wants. back through the door. Yes. Yeah. Apparently it's hard hitting because right now one of my kids at school, he might have to rumble. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Yeah. Even though he was cheering for candidate of being that he is Canadian, but also American, his friends put it to him that because he's got the passport, can't be part of the party. Oh, dear. Yeah. Jids, eh?
Starting point is 00:04:24 Even though it's see. So I said give the old one too right now. the nads first and then it's an uppercut and then maybe an elbow to the eyeball. Isn't that the Stone Cold Stunner starts? It's just like, bomb starts just bang done me. Yeah, it's a kick to the groin or nuts. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:40 And then it's always good starting point, folks. Perfect. For the stunner or just for anything. A good swift kick in the nuts. Yeah. So you want to get. I guarantee you there's people out there that are annoying you. Just one right to the nads.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Yeah. We're going through our contract negotiations. and all that, just walk in, quick. Yeah. You know what? That's what Peter Klein does. And McLeod Law, when he comes in, it's time for litigation. It's time to litigate.
Starting point is 00:05:08 A hide there. He fakes him out. Oh, that's a very nice guy. Peter Klein goes for the head shake. Bam, kick right to the beans. I don't know if he goes through with the stunner or not, but he could if he wanted to. Maybe don't do that, but maybe don't do. Yeah, maybe don't do that.
Starting point is 00:05:26 What else is going on? There's some flames stuff this morning, Pinder. Yeah. It's interesting. We saw, as anticipated yesterday, that we talked about Kevin Ball and Connor Zeri. We're both skating at Win Sport. They'll practice again this morning. Yesterday they had to the afternoon.
Starting point is 00:05:41 CBA rules. But they've added two defensemen to a group that already has eight defensemen. Well, you never have an up to. That's what they say. I know Darrell in 04 could have used another couple. But, yeah, I mean, Rasmus Anderson is not here yet, but will be back at some point, I imagine, given that he played for Sweden two days ago. You have already,
Starting point is 00:06:04 you know, maybe ball isn't ready to play, but even then you still have seven guys. But he should have been on vacation. Maybe he is, but point being, they're running minimum 90 right now. And eight if ball's not healthy enough to take regular shifts and Rasmus isn't there, but eight still way too many, six would be fine.
Starting point is 00:06:26 I don't know what they're doing. I like both these young players. I want to get looks at them, but like I'm just trying to figure out what the algebra is here. Like are they going to terminate Tyson Barry's contract? Are they ready to expose one of your men off their handling to waivers? Could it, yeah, could it just be a practice thing for this week? Could, yeah. And then send one down.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Have you ever wanted that fifth pair at practice? I'm just confused. I don't know. I don't know. Ball skated yesterday, so he's on the ice. So you're at 90. That's the worst number because it's too many. and it's an unknown for it.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Somebody's sick and they're going to play scrimmage. Anyway, I don't want the two lines on each team. Maybe. I do like both these young fellows, though. They're, uh, they've got a lot of the offensive defensemen that they've drafted and added in the last year or so. When you think about Muse and Perrek and Brestevich, these are the stay at home types.
Starting point is 00:07:22 These are the steady at ease. This is what you need when you've got lots of the, the volatile offensive defensemen. I love how much Pinder loves our farm system. I don't think it's elite, but there's some interesting pieces. Very good. Perks very good. I don't know what these other guys are, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Mews is having a monster year. You've got the top two. It's okay, Ryan. It's okay. Scoring in, uh, just, me and in the O again. I don't, I like prospects because I look at this group now.
Starting point is 00:07:54 I'm like, this guy, this group can't win a cup. But maybe some of these younger players could help win a cup. cup down the road. That's the whole thing about whatever the R word is, retool or rebuild. It's like, you're allowed to get excited about young players and some will turn into great players and some will fail. We don't know yet. It's called prospect porn and baseball. Everyone gets so excited about the prospects because they haven't failed yet. No, just for the say, now there's no chance. I would think there'd be some fans to be like, hey, they called up 2D.
Starting point is 00:08:22 What's going on? Something's, something's cooking. Is there a chance something's cooking? Or is this just kind of a native for practice? It's a... Haska! Wants to play a scrimmage. They don't play a game for days. If they need some of them, they wouldn't call them up today.
Starting point is 00:08:39 It feels like it's more just kind of a... Do they need to have them up here because they're making a deal? They can't do it tomorrow if the deal goes through. Well, and inversely, Rhett, if you wanted extra bodies at skate, why weren't they there yesterday? I just don't...
Starting point is 00:08:51 I don't know what the Wrangler's schedule was. Maybe they got to practice and realized, you know, we could use... We want some extra guys. Maybe yesterday's practice wasn't a, scrimmage practice and today's is potentially yeah i'm just we need answers because this on it's yeah i think you're right rind you're got you know what i wouldn't stand for this bs just let's get out there that we called guys up and no background information uska let's uh
Starting point is 00:09:18 like i should have a have like a drop right now for uh we want answers we're demanding for the flames and uh breaking news for we need answers and some stop the hammering Yeah. I don't know what would fall into what would be a good one here. Well, if you've missed it now. So it's really? Yeah, too late. Jack, could you get Connie on the show?
Starting point is 00:09:40 We just need a quick explanation. Just get, why is he never on our show? Hates us? We never asked. Oh, okay, then that's fine. Much like why things don't happen on the shows because we're not doing them. That's why they're not happening.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Yeah, it's, there's, I think we, you know what? Here's the thing. I feel like between the three of us, and I'll include Jack, or the lesser extent, because Jack's got of a Muppet. I think we could accomplish a lot of good things if we tried and cared. If you made a list of those good things, what would they like, what, what do you mean good? Well, getting caught on the show. Oh, that's good for the show.
Starting point is 00:10:14 I would think people would like to watch. I'd put the boots to him. I wouldn't be the softball in it like you guys. How do you think? Only we knew a guy. Really, really good. And we're the best GM we've ever had. I would be hardballing them right down the pipe.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Give us one right now. It's a real good tough. Yeah. So if he was sitting here. Give us an example. No dumb media questions. I can't. What I'm going to waste him.
Starting point is 00:10:35 He's going to see this that he's going to be able to plan is it's like the ABC interviews. It's too easy. Or Eric Francis or somebody will steal it. Steal it. And then ask him at the thing. And then it'll be like, well, see, there's my. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:50 You're welcome, Francis. Yeah. That's your real. You didn't give me anything. No, really not. But it's, you know, it, it, it, it, it, doesn't feel like if you're, it doesn't feel like there's a big trade coming if that was,
Starting point is 00:11:06 I would love to be shocked and have one. I would just, yeah, like adding 2D. One, I'll tell you what they're not going to do. They're not going to take away from Canada, USA, four nations and make an effing trade. The league would go nuts. Yeah, I guess it depends on the magnitude of the trade. I don't really agree. I don't know what we just said a big trade.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Yeah. The sense traded for Olmark hours before game seven of the Stanley Cup final. I think nothing sacred to. What was that trade yesterday? It is a thing though. Like you don't think it would be a thing that they couldn't wait till tomorrow or a Friday to? Probably. Yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Now, Solovov was here before the break. Right? So bringing him back is just kind of getting them back to status quo. And if they bring up his nets off, they're without Rasmus. No, the difference being the ball's skating now. Right. But if he was, he was playing the ball roll. So that's the difference.
Starting point is 00:12:01 you play your ball role and I'll play okay I'm just counting D there's 10 I know you're very upset about it I could tell you're I'm upset listen Ryan has a plan you this is not what the fuck they're doing what are they how can they what are we doing here when I run a practice I don't want no 9 D got nine right yeah what's nine you got one loser hanging out by himself when he pairs idiots come on run eight all you science So not only should we be running the team coaching it too. Hey, we got it.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Hey, you are done when Farhan said. You guys both have whistles, right? Any puss in his hat could go run an organization. It's not. Ryan, have you got a bucket of pucks? I don't want to just showing up to run practice feeling. I'm getting low on pucks. Are you?
Starting point is 00:12:54 The little shits have been losing them in the snow on the lake. Not good. Don't worry. when the snow melts, they'll still be there. Oh, yeah, because my kids are go-getters. And they'll be right out there. Get them a snorkel for summer. They can go get all the pucks back.
Starting point is 00:13:11 There is nothing to set the tone of a kid's hockey game, though, when you're at the rink and you're the coach and you've got to take care of the puck. And you see pucks going into the other side, and they don't go get them. Oh, go get that puck you look. We had a mission of steal as many pucks as we could for the first half of the season.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Yeah. Puck bag broke and we left a hundred on the side and we just bring the rest now. Huge win. Only 100, hey? It's just a big W for the coaching staff. Meanwhile, all year the other teams are like, those frigging Glen Lake assholes are stealing. We always practice the other Glen Lake teams.
Starting point is 00:13:44 It's more of a inter-glen lake rivalry. Are they a division up or down or? Those two div ones. So we practice them. I see. Yeah. They're a little light on pucks. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Who's to say why? It's hard to say. I mean, it could be anything. 10D, I don't know. They're good shooters. Who's making posts? Who? Slovakians and Canadians.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Who's doing it? Are they making anything else or are they just strictly? Are they sitting there every day? It's like if the NHL ever decides they're going away from these pucks, we're hoped. Guys, we got to, we got to diversify our portfolio here. I like the way you're talking, Dean, diversity. Great thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:26 The, yeah, if you look on the puck, It's either made in Slovakia on the side or made in Canada. I think it's a big factor in Quebec and then one in Slovakia. That's a shocker. The bulk of the pucks on earth come from those two places. Let's make the pucks here. Why aren't we making them here? Tariffs on pucks.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Sorry, Slovakia. And bringing your pucks around here. Are you putting tariffs on Quebec now? What's going on? Are you going to pay more for your pucks? Aren't there a bunch of inter-provincial tariffs? Can we do that? I'm sure there's some industries.
Starting point is 00:14:57 I hate this FFEC camera. You guys can be shit for slouching. The problem is not me. It's this camera. No, I know. It wanders around up and down and all over the damn place. Move around for a bit. Show us.
Starting point is 00:15:15 I feel like there's probably a setting. Oh, there are 100% is. It's just that he won't look at the setting. He wants to do it himself. Where's the setting? You got to get the software. There would be a. Oh, yeah, download spyware onto my computer.
Starting point is 00:15:29 That's great. Thanks. Yeah. Genius. Yeah, yeah. I'm going to throw this up. here just because George is saying boomer that origin brewing hat is awesome that's right I don't know that it goes with your red it doesn't it was just right here we're Christmasy
Starting point is 00:15:46 we're Minnesota wild today yeah Christmas in Feb I do love that red though um and I was just going to say I've I uh I talked to big Mark last week well Mark you know with orange brewing Mark boomer it's uh we're talking about different things and uh we're uh we're working on on some, so of this. Diversity? Collaboration. Diversifying? Oh. And you know Dane from over at origin?
Starting point is 00:16:16 Good old Dane. Dan, he's kind of, he's kind of got his, uh, his hooks into some of the merch game. Are you saying meddling or? No, I think he's kind of sneaky. He's kind of sneaky good at it. So we are, uh, we are working on some different things. And we showed, I think when we were doing the, uh, the barn burner pack at Christmas.
Starting point is 00:16:38 We showed some of the t-shirts and the hats that they've got. Go to origin brewing.ca. You'll find you'll find it. Hodies, hats, all that sort of stuff. And coming out soon, maybe some oddis, maybe some of this, which I look forward to. Are there any blondes at the studio? Sure.
Starting point is 00:17:01 I think so. I'm going to borrow some for tomorrow night. I'm going to stock up. Are you? What about the afterburner? pale ales. I'll sleep on those, less of those, but they're around.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Or, uh, rare. Or, you know, what you could do is just go to the old tap room. Because there is one in Strathmore and there's one in Calgary. Look at that. Look at those things are hot. Well, they're not hot. I mean, you don't want to. Well, quite cold.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Kind of in the fridge, Dean. Taste better. Good, buddy. He's over at origin. Ah, bah. Hey, boomer. There you go. There you go there.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Hey, look at that. Get yourself a lid. Man, Jack's on the ball when he doesn't have to drive all the way downtown. That's right. They've got the downtown. The malting and then the brewery stuff, the plaid flannel, some tucks. Boy, you could use that tube today, hey, if you didn't have it. Support local farmers.
Starting point is 00:17:54 There's the tractor teas. Olive shirt. Hello. I kind of like that. Was that a mustard? Mustard. Yes. I like that mustard.
Starting point is 00:18:04 That's real nice. Look at that. Jeez. Large old. It's a popular one. See? No, they're, uh, they're out of X's. They're flying out the door.
Starting point is 00:18:16 I can use an L. You could use an L. Mark, you don't think Pender could use one of those mustard ones and matches cabs out. I was driving out to the thing. So you can go check some of that out, but yeah, we are going to have some, some cool stuff. Come on great partners.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Our buddies at origin. Good guys. And what I was telling you, uh, showed you the picture. Sterling was out in, Montreal for that game last week. Yes. I told he was doing a speech or he was speaking at a convention or something.
Starting point is 00:18:47 You imagine. That feels like some sort of attacks right off. Go make a speech and I can the whole trip's work. Sterling. He went to a pub, got smashed and started yelling. Is that what you're telling me? I had a big presentation to do. Oh, is that what you call it? Yeah. You know the problem with you
Starting point is 00:19:02 Quebecers. Pinder does a lot of presentations. I did. I ever. It's a steady, steady calendar. I just said it was last call. Yeah, ooh, time, a human construct. Please leave.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Yeah, yeah, exactly. I like that right, yeah. I did. I like when you get wound up and do. You know what I miss? And it was a state, it was kind of a thing on the old show, is when you would fall,
Starting point is 00:19:35 you were kind of just off mic, Yeah, dumb fan guy. Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's my fucking y'all. Off mic just a little bit for whatever reason. Yeah. And then it was just kind of somewhat incoherent, but just way overbearing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Yeah. You love a little off mic. Dean likes that. Yeah. He does. Anyone ever laughs off Mike kills him, loves it. Trying to think what a good example. That would be a, just give me a moment here.
Starting point is 00:20:05 I'll tell you about service while you're doing that. Service credit union. The Big Share Contest is back. It's in full swing. Your chance to win a million bucks just by saving money. Anybody can enter by becoming a member and saving with service. You have 500 bucks. Put that into some savings, save in some way, shape, or form.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Your RSP, TFSA, because it's RRSP season. That's going to get you entries into the Big Share contest. Set up your paycheck for automatic deposit into your service account, bonus entries. High yield savings account. fast track. The GICs delicious. Great promotions during this contest
Starting point is 00:20:45 period. Find out more. Service.ca. slash win. April 30th, 2025 is when it all comes to an end. So get in now. Skill test required. It's the service,
Starting point is 00:20:55 Big Share contest. John, Kevin Rooney should be in the 80. Rory Karen's play Cedinj. Yeah, I've seen that's a good one. Yeah. Huska apparently, according to some, has a real love affair with Rooney.
Starting point is 00:21:11 He just gets him never. Oh, Huska loves Rooney so much. Why don't you marry him? Yeah. So I'm like that, right? Yes. Okay. Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:22 That's what we're talking about. I'm not here trying to defend Kevin. At the end, really, it's kind of the good way to end that for sure. But there are some. It's like, what's this guy? How is this guy? How bad does he have to play before? How many goals?
Starting point is 00:21:38 Is Kevin Root? You have to Steve Smith it right in the hole. You did me. There it is. Hey, Redshaw-licking. Hey, Jack, what do you think? Now, Jack, do you remember the just-off-mic crazy, crazy fan guy? A little bit, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Good talk. Do you like it? Yeah, that's good. Good job, right. Jack likes it. Marty Rhodes. good one too. Now, you know what I have?
Starting point is 00:22:12 It's kind of funny how it all came up. Again, things just sometimes they happen for a reason. This is another thing that used to happen on the old show. Do you remember the old show? Try not to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Like we had to get up early. I remember that. Yeah, for a long time, we did a radio show early in the morning, years and years. Didn't make a lot of sense now that you look back on it. Especially with how we're doing this now. Oh. Hardly seems.
Starting point is 00:22:37 So many good things. We'd stop the show for like seven minutes at a time. I don't, yeah, it was weird. Then you'd start again. And I, do we have time? Because you were, no,
Starting point is 00:22:47 you're good, you got all kinds of time. I was listening to a radio show on the weekend. And they literally were having a great conversation. And the host told the person that was answering the question that they had just asked to shut up basically. You got to stop. We have to stop.
Starting point is 00:23:06 I'm like, this person is giving you gold right now and you're going to go what was it because they were out of time or did they have to go to break you got to get to break out of time I have to go to break yeah I have the combination for the bank safe it is 13 you know what love to hear more we're out of time we'll get next time we'll I look forward to getting that bank vault combination from oh I was dying thanks for your time and that is That's just beautiful right there. Anyway, there was something else that we did on the old show. We kind of did it. But we didn't really do it. We talked about doing it. I think we tried it.
Starting point is 00:23:49 And I can't help it. I was feeling a little nostalgic, I guess. I thought maybe, you know, everything old is new again. Dude! I wonder if it's not time to bring back, dude. Dude. That's the one. Hey?
Starting point is 00:24:09 Dude. Out of all the things that we do, did. I just do his. Dude. If you would like a few more dudes in there. If you would like to sponsor dude. Now, because I asked Jack, I said, no, Jack, do you remember when we did dude, or at least we talked about doing dude as a segment? He's like, eh, not really. Okay. Good. Good enough, Jeff. So what would be, as if Jack was awake early enough to a show ever. Let's watch. So I've got a, you know, I actually, I have a, I have a, let's do this. Conner's Erie. back at practice yesterday.
Starting point is 00:24:48 I think that it's obviously a good thing, right? That he's back. Kevin Ball is back. They brought up these two defensemen, right? Things are looking up for the flames. Dude! Pretty good.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Didn't we have like the bad dude too? They're like, dude. Stand by, Ryan. Patience. Stand by. I can do what? Well, just put a pin in it. Let's take a look at this clip. Now, coming up on Thursday, Canada versus the U.S.,
Starting point is 00:25:22 and we saw what happened on Saturday the other night. It was heated. Brandon Hagel, good Sasker, right? Played Junior and Red Deer, went toe to toe right off the opening draw with Matthew Kachuk. He was asked about it. Do you expect more of the same on Thursday? Tell us about it. I mean, listen, what happened the other night?
Starting point is 00:25:42 I think I did it for the flag and not for the cameras. Brandon, hey, hey, why do you say, I mean, dude. You gotta love that. They're for the flag. Not for the cameras. It's a good Saskia right there. Sweet. Very traumatic.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Yeah. Wasn't it very dramatic? I did it for the flag. Not for the cameras. Yeah, there's no group chat. Just did it for the flag. Dr. Demko. I don't know if you guys saw.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Oh. Thatcher Demko. I mean, poor Canucks, right? He's been injured and they kids. And they got, I'm just going at each other in the locker room. They finally trade one. They get the goalie back.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Oh, here we go. Playing well. Thatcher Demko is out week to week now. Dude. Connock fans are just, I think they're kind of getting done with this guy. They can't count on him. He's never healthy.
Starting point is 00:26:46 He's good when he's healthy, but it's pretty, pretty rare. pretty rare and no uh well yeah they're not going to tell you what's wrong with them dude yeah is it the same mystery obviously they'd give us the influence the lower body yeah and still with the canucks and talking about this game on thursday this whole quin hughes bs so you're going to bs you're going to bs so you're going to boston but yesterday you're at practice with the canucks you're not in boston but are you going to play if somebody seems a little fishy seems a little
Starting point is 00:27:19 Dude. Don't be fucking around. Don't be doing it. Smells fishy to me. We need a special friend, an old friend of our day. In what way? Do you mean fishy? Well, it's just what are you? Aren't you there?
Starting point is 00:27:38 Are you playing or you? Dude, what's not playing? Didn't someone of the dumb reporters say that he was in Boston? Yeah, but they're making the rules as they go. They're changing rules all the time. He's allowed to play. He's not allowed to play. Someone's got to be here. That's exactly.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Dude. Talk and threaten the bench and take them on. So I don't know who that dude is for. Maybe it's for Gary. Maybe it's for. You don't do. Gilgarin or whoever, you know. Billy G.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Yeah. All right, Pinder, what was yours? Because I don't have. Do you have a real? You're talking about flames. I'm like, man, they're getting healthy. That's great news. But, you know, also, you look at this schedule.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Washington, Tampa, Florida, Carolina, Philly, Dallas, longest road trip of the year, five cup contenders, a back to back. Dean. Dude. Dude. It's a gauntlet. Do we have more explosions?
Starting point is 00:28:39 Can I? No, Ryan. Oh. Like, no, I don't. That's what I got done this morning. That's what I managed to do. Yeah. So, you know, workshop it.
Starting point is 00:28:50 Be back tomorrow. Yeah. You're an old friend to voice some dudes and we'll be right there. Yeah. don't you do that. You know how to do that, right? Go get a guy and roll some tape and I'll get them and also some MP3s your way.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Yeah, that'd be great. Just throw those in the can and find some, some more explosions. And, uh, let me know, the file. It's the file that's always a pain in the ass? Uh, it's the drive, right? The drive.
Starting point is 00:29:15 Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the file's on the driver. Yeah, that's right. Get the files in there. So if you'd like to sponsor dude, um, you can contact.
Starting point is 00:29:24 the Wolverine. El Weamer. Yeah, I'm not sure who, but... The big human. Yeah. So we're workshop and some stuff. You know, it's kind of like going back, hitting the old classics. Coming your way soon.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Hey, did you know? What else did we have? F I'm old. F I'm old is on the way. Yeah. But not phone. phones. Phones is tricky.
Starting point is 00:29:57 I don't want to do phones. It's a new era. Yeah. Phones is more talked about than actually exercised. Yeah. They're basically phoning constantly with these comments. Arthus is saying we could drive some revenue with these segments. He'd pay to not have you ever do dude again.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Oh, hey. Ho! What? Come on now. Just, geez. Dude? Arthus, you start super chatting enough of that and we'll listen to you. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:25 I don't know. what was the other one? Hey, did you know? There were just so many hits. Yeah. What's the deal? Hey, did you? What's the deal?
Starting point is 00:30:40 Yeah, because we use the, uh, the Seinfeld bed. But it, boom, boom, boom, boom. And, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, ha, bah, hey, what's the deal? Yeah. All right. Was it cold out this morning? Yes. I'm not leaving the house today.
Starting point is 00:31:02 Yeah. at all well i'm low on gas and i'm not going to stand outside and freeze my took my hands my hands filling up yeah i got some stuff today what rink is this oh boy you yeah that's a far that's a long way to go that's a long way to go for that one but we'll do it we'll do it i got a big problem with this championship game on thursday Which I'm told is tomorrow. Yeah. I believe it's on Thursday.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Today's hump day, kind of. So maybe tomorrow's Thursday. If that's the case, supposed to be coaching. Head coach is at said game in Boston, because of course it's Glenn Lake Redd. Probably just check out of the rich bastards. And you're all rich bastards and can afford the 15-100 seats.
Starting point is 00:31:59 And that leaves me coaching when really I would just have my phone on at the side, working the gate. Watching for score updates. Or in the pub, depending on what rank you're up. No, no, you can't coach from the pub. That would be before or after. It might be better. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Can you stay radio dark? Yeah, I don't think you can walk the halls of the rink without someone screaming about it. I did it the other day. Yeah. You're too anxious, though. You're too involved with people. If I walk by and scowl at people, it's not anything new.
Starting point is 00:32:33 It's a fairly rare common occurrence. Don't look at me. I don't want to talk. Please just. Yeah. Just put the blinders on. Photos. Paparazzi.
Starting point is 00:32:43 No. No. Somebody did in the, the comments things there. Where's noodles? No. No. Yesterday we said noodles was in today.
Starting point is 00:32:55 No. Yesterday. Yesterday I said noodles won't be in tomorrow, which is now today. And I'm just repeating. Today's hump day. Tomorrow's Thursday. Thursday is the day that he's going to be in.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Yesterday we said, today's all messed up, Dean. I know. Well, we'll get you back to a five-day work week and it'll straighten itself all. I don't think so. I'm counting down days. I've got it all worked out where I'm going to go from four to three to two to one. Yeah, you'd be talking about this for a decade.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Yeah, he's. I watched a big AI thing this morning while I was grinding away on the bike. Because I'm into fitness. Yeah. I love it because I don't have to, we're not going to have to do F all. And then we can just. Or we're going to keep getting paid or no? Uh, they're going to have to work that out.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Ryan. That's the big hitch because I feel like the billionaire is going to make lots of it. I'm not sure. Oh, four shizzle. Yeah. That's the, I mean, it's kind of the wrinkle in everything is the making a living, earning a salary, getting paid to do things. Oh, it's going to be good for the billionaires. We should be. I for everyone. UBI, not UTI, UBI. Yeah, you don't want a UTI. I had some IBS going this week. Yeah, you did. Not ideal. Yeah, not ideal. Still on the wire, what it was. necessarily. Well, you've got a tender tummy. Things too. My daughter thinks it was maybe the Vietnamese soup that we had. Was it the soup?
Starting point is 00:34:18 Odd that you bring up the Vietnamese soup because we were discussing maybe a Vietnamese meal this evening. Oh, really? Mm-hmm. I'm running out ideas, Dean. I need a cookbook. I know. Get AI to make you one.
Starting point is 00:34:33 You show off. I was going to say. Reagan what AI all day. AI, here's the food. Here's the foods that I like. Yeah. Put together a schedule of recipes for the week. I bet you they'd throw something together, fair for you. Make me a cake.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Build me a bicycle, clown. Let's go. Yeah. That was my billion dollar idea. What was it? Well, I don't want to say it on the air because Francis will take it. And then Francis Steeles.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Or do we want to do the Pinder report?
Starting point is 00:35:09 Well, it's humpday. The mod medical clinic, be aroused.ca. I hope that the kind of chast that we have here about this, I hope it's having an impact. I hope people are kind of looking into it. And I think they are. I think they're realizing that, you know, we're full of it in a lot of things. But we are aging males and as we age things. Look at you guys.
Starting point is 00:35:32 Both go on your phone. Oh, boom's going to do a read. I'll just tap out. some of us are doing research just relax bud you aroused out c a don't jump to conclusions all the time it's a jump to conclusions matt there's different conclusions you jump to why why are we weird talking about these things why do we this is this is why i want attention it's it's us ret why why ryan why is there taboo you know what dean even if you don't want to talk to your pals about it or us about it.
Starting point is 00:36:05 You should at least go talk to the people at the Mod Medical Clinic about it because maybe you aren't comfy talking about the public, but at least go talk to a health care specialist. I mean, if my eyes are bad, I know who I'd go talk to. If my ears aren't good, you know where I'm going and who I'm talking to. If I need a little help with my pelvic floor, hello, it's not pretend it's not happening here. And you may not even know it's the pelvic floor.
Starting point is 00:36:27 So there's some things. I'm having to get up in the night. I'm peeing a lot. Sometimes I'm just getting up and it takes a while for the old, the old pee to start, happening or maybe you know mom and I were trying to do some things and it's not work you don't need to live with it there's science out there and the mod medical clinic they're right at the forefront be aroused dot cae find out about pelvic floor health strength and how it all kind of ties in its physiotherapy uh with incontinence sexual performance hip and lower back pain the stabilization
Starting point is 00:36:57 of the core that's like right when you're on your bike hip i'm always stabilizing you're stabilizing and get the tight core. Optimize your life in the bedroom and the bathroom. There is a non-medication approach if you're using the pills, taking those things. Viassure works on muscle function, breaks down scar tissue, reforms blood vessels in the penis.
Starting point is 00:37:19 That's a good thing. Fresh. Damn right. Damn right. Maybe you've had an injury or maybe it's just as you get older things aren't working quite like they should. Don't accept it. It doesn't have to just be one of those things that you take.
Starting point is 00:37:32 I guess that's just getting old. Hold. Not the case. Be Aroused.orgia, the mod medical clinic. I think we should go. You're going to sit on the M. Salachia chair. It's crazy. So yeah, you've a-
Starting point is 00:37:48 Wacking and whizzing and. Whoa. All right. Things are happening down there. 10,000 a minute or something? Giggles. Unreal. Oh, Eagles.
Starting point is 00:37:58 Oh, what? Had the thing in her office. Everyone was taking turns sitting on it. No kidding. Yeah, there you go. Why do we do some right as a group? Some group kegels for five seconds. I can go sit on that chair.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Why would I sit here and waste my time? There you go. Now you can do it that way. It's fine. Or you could go to the Mod Medical Clinic and let the professionals just put you right where you need to be. Try not figure out what's going on with all these dean. He's really, uh,
Starting point is 00:38:41 the biggest mystery in his life right now. I think of someone in the comments has some intelligence and verify that's actually correct someone that's listening to us has intel on what's not actually happening
Starting point is 00:38:57 uh west gelbertson is 28 defense runner on the ice with the flames rasm is still on his way back from four nations tyson berry also not skating why would Tyson berry not be skating would be my question because he's got the sniffles or the flu so is it okay now rye
Starting point is 00:39:13 has he went to Cabo like you and came back and he feels like crap. He's shooting like a goose because he got some. He was drinking the water. Shouldn't have been. Jesus. Tice Khan.
Starting point is 00:39:24 Hey? So now there's only eight is. Cause like eight. He's carried eight all year. You were really kind of calling into question. The flames for this moving of two defense. What the fuck is going on? A lot of distinct.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Right there. You know what? And it seemed like you really had very. little confidence that they were doing the right thing or that it made sense. You very much,
Starting point is 00:39:52 what, I just was confused. I feel like we could open with the X-Files theme and Molder and Scully could have helped to solve this. Yeah. Did you guys watch that?
Starting point is 00:40:00 I never watched. I never did. No. Never. No. Is that like your drinking years or what? There was something about what's his name that was just kind of.
Starting point is 00:40:10 David Decoveny? Yeah. Too much red shoe diaries on the side? Just very kind of. Everything else he did was Purvy and then he had the X-Files. That was his whole career. I still felt like he was pervy.
Starting point is 00:40:22 What was that, yeah, what was that show where he was like? Red Tudy diaries, no? Yeah. No, there was another one. Lots of them. God, there was another one where he was, yeah, very pervy that guy. Yes, like I was saying, it's either miscreas of aliens or heavy perv work. That was this whole career.
Starting point is 00:40:37 David DeCubby. Him and Richard Gear, kind of that same kind of. Oh, what are you talking about? Take care. You're giving him a tough time. It's great. Californication. There you go.
Starting point is 00:40:46 I just said that too. Did you know what? Yes. A number of times that happens as well. Did you not say Red Shoe Diaries? And Californication. It was literally what I said. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:58 I did not hear Californication. I heard Red Shoe Diaries and I have no idea what that is. I've never seen that either. For new listeners, this is exactly what the show is. Pinder gets wound up about a stupid call up and Dean gets wound up if Pinder questions what Dean has said. So just this is very much. nail on the head right now.
Starting point is 00:41:19 Hank Moody. Was that? I didn't watch it then. I don't give a hell on it now. Was that Hank Moody? Was that the Californication role that he played? I don't know California Cases very well. I'm just saying all the non-exfile stuff was typically smut.
Starting point is 00:41:34 It was like softcore late night tities on showcase at like midnight. That was my wheelhouse for a while there. Yeah. Used to stay up late. Everyone got to bed. Creep. Yeah, a bit of a creep. Hey, do you guys?
Starting point is 00:41:48 do you want to come over and watch some uh watch some tv no no no one was coming over that's hence the need for the channel 32 at midnight remember when like faces of death was out on DVD or video and you had to and that was like oh yeah i wasn't into that now no it was not something to be into it was just yeah i was going to say i hope the guy made a million dollars hope you're not into it quite frankly well pinned report And then lunch. Early lunch today, right? Every day.
Starting point is 00:42:24 Love lunch. What's the right time for lunch? If you combine it with breakfast, it's really good. I'd be on to something there. And I'll just say this. What would you call? Yeah. About food.
Starting point is 00:42:40 There was a 13-year-old in my house that felt confident enough last evening to walk by the stove oven and grab the ribai. Oh. And put it on his plate. And commence and eating, said ribi. Didn't go over well. No, hey.
Starting point is 00:43:08 That's that. What, did he burn his fingers? Was it too hot? Is that a lesson he learned? Is he trespassing, red? Flicking of the ear. What in the, yes. You've overstepped.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Your boundaries, son. What should he have done in that case? He should have walked away, is what he should have done. Dearest father, upon this gathering where we shall share food and drink together, I was curious about the getting rid of said rabbi. I come back into the kitchen. What is going on around here? Gone.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Yeah. What? What? I'm hungry. So what was the was it what was it was it was it was not dinner time what was the there was one steak or how was this working kind of a scattered there was sausage there steak there was chicken but the rib eye yeah daddy oh meat's don't clash excellent spread by the way Rhett thank you yeah chicken and sausage and revise life's good
Starting point is 00:44:15 some mashed potatoes yeah yeah it's good mashed potatoes yeah it's good mashed potatoes Yeah. Youngest favorite potato. The mash. Yeah. My daughter loves mashed. Loves mashed potatoes. And her grandpa, God love him. Him, when he was growing up, all his mom ever made was potatoes. My grandpa.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Every day. Every day. Quite often twice a day. Lunch and dinner. Yeah. Oil. As soon as he moved out when he was whatever, 19, 20, I'm never eating potatoes again. and he rarely did.
Starting point is 00:44:53 He might have French fries under the different, but if you were making a meal, like they would come to visit, let's have some rice, let's have some kind of a noodle dish. Anything, anything, but do not put a baked or roasted or just don't. Don't do it because it's not going to get eaten.
Starting point is 00:45:12 I respect that. I respect that. Which part? Well, just calling your shot. Okay. Becoming an adult and saying, you know what this is this is how I live in my life
Starting point is 00:45:26 three of us have done with our new this venture we really yeah stuck a claim on you that's yeah it's gone really dude yeah we've got it right by the short
Starting point is 00:45:43 and curleys we do glass half full which is at the start of the show I totally yeah that's right that's right optometrist yeah yeah like the guy
Starting point is 00:45:52 I opened the comments too I could there's nothing yeah so what's talking about pee stains on sweatpants another person talking about six year old eating habits it's not you're not missing much maybe we should make a book of that and sell it no one wants to read that shit
Starting point is 00:46:09 oh Brett just while it's fresh in our mind would it be offside to ask you your top five potato dishes if someone was if someone was going to if you were going to because there's so many different ways that's tough of making uh go back I'm going to go back simple roasted potato
Starting point is 00:46:28 love it. So peeled, cubed? No. The baby potatoes washed. Then you put some oil and all your seasoning in a bowl and you toss those potatoes in there. I like to slice the potatoes in half as well because I like the crisp. Just a nice roasted potato. Are you throwing it on some parchment paper and just straight into like a baking sheet?
Starting point is 00:46:54 Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'm not particular on parchment. or I like it when it gets a little. And because it's coated in the oil, it shouldn't stick too much. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:04 And don't underdo them, right? Do them all those. You get that good crunch? Yes. The crust and the explosion. The Hasselbeck potato. Extremely difficult. Not extremely, but it's somewhat of pain in the ass.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Yeah. To make. Oh, pretty damn good. So that's where you take the potato and it's almost kind of like a Thin slices, but not all the way through. Yeah. So it's kind of accordioned. Yep.
Starting point is 00:47:32 And then you, what are you putting in there? You have a, you have a butter, but a flavored butter. Yeah. And you layer it in every little fold in there. Kill me. Yeah. Shut the front door. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:47 So good. And there again, easy. I mean, that's, there's some work. But the butter, take some butter and then put some garlic in there, whip it up nice. So often the butter. but yeah. A little bit of oil to kind of soften it. Not hard, right? We can all do this.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Okay. That's number four. The hassle. I'm going to go back, though, because then I always forget about these. Potato skins. I like a potato skin. Is this number three in or honorable mention? No, I'm going back.
Starting point is 00:48:17 It's kind of an honorable mention, but I'll go. So how many is that? Five? No. I don't want to derail you, but I do want to talk about skins. Do you want to do it now or do you want to do it at the end? whatever. The skins, I feel, are one of the,
Starting point is 00:48:32 you can make those so well at home that you don't, there's a lot of times, well, I can't do it like they do it. Oh, please. If you're buying them ready made in a freezer box, you go, stop, you're not going to like them. No. But at home, when you can control the size of the bacon bits
Starting point is 00:48:53 and the cheese and the butter and all of that, You may not like potato skins, but have you made them at home? Sour grape? Oh, damn. They're better. Good call, my friend. Good call. Okay, good on.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Number three. You know what? That should be on the, on the docker tomorrow. It is. It is. Potato skins, homemade is on the docket. God damn it. What am I at?
Starting point is 00:49:20 Three? You're in three now. I have to throw mashed in there just because they're a conduit for everything. And it's just. If you're a gravy enthusiast, you can't leave it off your list. Yeah. How are you doing it? What?
Starting point is 00:49:33 Mashed? Yeah. Because are you putting cream? Are you putting salt pepper butter? No, no, no, no. No. No. So you know those bouillon, the jarred bouillon, though?
Starting point is 00:49:42 Oh, yeah. The jars of chicken stock bouillon. Yeah. So it's butter, cream, and that. Really? And if I get really excited because I love borsan cheese, I'll throw a borsan. A puck. Nice.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Put a puck in there. What about garlic mashed? It's fine, but this is, this recipe, I'm telling you, is so, with the chicken stock, it's so easy. I don't, Bob's your uncle. It's weird. I kind of pass on the garlic mash. If I, if I was to have a choice, it's kind of like, you can control your potatoes after you get them. If you want to put some garlic butter or something in there to give it the garlic taste,
Starting point is 00:50:25 but when you do the whole pot of garlic, you're committed to the, you've really kind of gone all in. Now, are you, are you mashing them with a mash? Are you using like a hand blender to, to whip them or?
Starting point is 00:50:36 I've done either. I've done either. Yeah. Usually I just hand bomb it. Yeah. Yeah. I had to buy a new one. Like,
Starting point is 00:50:44 right before, before or after Christmas. My, uh, the one that I have for so long. Your kids? It finally, uh,
Starting point is 00:50:50 no, it was, it was, it was just time. It was a, it was a metal one. And it was kind of starting to rust and stuff over the years. So I did.
Starting point is 00:50:59 I went and invested in a new potato masher. And at the same time, I was, I was like, I'm in, I'm in a zone now. I also bought a, what do you call the thing with the baster, the turkey baster. I had an old turkey baster and the rubber was starting to kind of, it wasn't holding on to the thing quite like it should. Yeah. It was a big day. Potato masher and a new baster.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Where it is. Yeah. The baster. So we've got controversial the last one. The number one. If done well and correctly, you can call it O'Gratton
Starting point is 00:51:34 or you can call it scalped. Either way, that type of potato. Yeah. Well, that's number two, because number one's the potato salad at Bontan, obviously. Good point by you, but is that a salad or is that a potato dish? Boy, that's a good question.
Starting point is 00:51:50 It's both. It is both. And neither are wrong. No. it is weird when you say potatoes because someone's going to say like oh i love french trout oh i love potato chips yeah kind of weren't going that angle so i do see what you're saying yeah you wouldn't be excluding it so much as specifically talking about baking a potato so the ogrottin slash scallop it is so good yeah it is it's got to be done right too
Starting point is 00:52:14 you can't half all these things are only great if you do it correctly and i wonder thinking about again my father-in-law God love them. If maybe his mom wasn't going, it was just kind of here's some potatoes. Maybe they're cooked all the way. Maybe they're not, which led to his, I'm tired of potatoes. Because when they're done right and you don't, you can't rush it. It doesn't feel like maybe something that would take a long time. But unless you roast them all the way, boil them all the way, prepare them all the way, they will have a bit of a mealy, crunchy texture. That's not good. Yeah. If you only had like a three quarter baked potato.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Right. You know, because you get into the middle of it and now it's hard. Yes. Garbage. Jack, top five potatoes. I'll go from one garlic mashed to baked potato. So stop, stop. Are we going best, are we going five to one, one to five best to one best to worst?
Starting point is 00:53:15 We'll do it the other way. All right, go ahead. So your favorite is garlic mashed. Garlic mashed. garlic mashed walk us through it what do I like about a garlic mash I just butter lots of butter a little bit cheese
Starting point is 00:53:32 some sour cream sure yeah Jack's the mirror flavor town when he's there that's what he loves it I am all right so garlic mash number two baked potato yeah same deal lots of bacon sour cream cheese load that ass Load that son of a bitch up.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Yeah. Three I'm going to go hash browns. Oh. Interesting. I don't dislike it. Are we talking like shredded ones or chunky? Yeah, I'm trying to think. A tater tot?
Starting point is 00:54:05 Chunks or the shred? It depends what I'm eating. Like I like the patty hash browns good, but that's with like a breakfast sandwich. Yeah. That's a drastic one. If you kind of got the whole breakfast deal going on, you want the sliced. Do we like the sliced or do we like the shredded? hash brown.
Starting point is 00:54:23 I like the chunks personally, but if it's done right, the shred can be diced, but I can't, I agree if it's, I can. If you like hot sauce, hash browns are very,
Starting point is 00:54:35 very important, a piece of brunch, because just a match made in heaven. And you're right about the drive-through window. The ones that you get there, there's so much oil in there. It's a lot of oil for a small, like a small,
Starting point is 00:54:47 I don't know, it just, it's different than French fries for me. somehow. You can have French fries that don't taste like oil, but nine times out of ten, it feels like you get the dry through window hash brown. And it's just so, so good. Oh, this is so greasy and oily. But anyway, hashbrouts, good, good, hey, well done, Jack. Nice pull. Number two. We'll go tater tauts. Tater tots. Or is it twice baked the same as a baked? It's just better. That's all it is.
Starting point is 00:55:21 we'll say yes but I'm not like like can you put can I use that twice sure double baked hell yeah yeah I'll go double bake last it feels like you kind of cheat yeah okay let's just go
Starting point is 00:55:34 we'll go fries then fries maybe it doesn't like potatoes that much um Grinkle cut fries though homestown yeah are we doing thin mannes or ketchup air fryer
Starting point is 00:55:46 air fryer air fryer I don't like mayonnaise or ketchup oh we don't like ketchup. A little bit of vinegar on my fresh. Oh, yeah. Yeah, salt, vinegar, maybe touch pepper. You. Yeah. Are you putting them into a big bowl and then putting some salt and giving them one of these? Yeah. Do it all. Yeah. Surprise ready. Yeah. Terrific. Ryan, top five potatoes. Are we staying in the baked category? Can we go? Whatever the hell you want. It's however you prepare a potato, which is why this is an intriguing conversation. So the Bontan potato salad is number one with a bullet because it's just the best.
Starting point is 00:56:27 And we know that. Other top five ones, I love Jack's call the hash brown. Scallops are phenomenal. I think, I'm not telling the mash that much, nor the baked. I would say fries, hot sauce and ketchup. You've seen this, Dean. I do this all the time. The mountain of fries, hot sauce, tiny bit of ketchup.
Starting point is 00:56:53 And then I'll just go. with the standard old potato chip at five. You were pretty passionate about the double baked, but then it didn't make your five. I just don't love baked potato, but the double baked is so much better than a regular baked potato. I'm quite impressed with it.
Starting point is 00:57:09 All the same ingredients. Just, again, don't rush it. And what are we doing there? Just for, so we're baking it and then. Scoop it all out. Scoop it out. Go get again. What are you putting,
Starting point is 00:57:21 so you take the potato inner. Bacin chives, sour cream. Jeez. Whip it up in a bowl. and then put her back in. A lot of butter. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:34 Potatoes, eh? Potets. I do like the baby potatoes. Slice them in half, some oil and seasoning, roast those some bitches up. You know what? That's the one that should be my top five.
Starting point is 00:57:46 My wife's just the smashed baby ones. That's a little bit. You're basically doing baked potatoes, but you hit them a couple times, throw them back in. That's a sneaky move, by the way. If you want to, for those,
Starting point is 00:57:57 give them a quick. quick boil. Give them a quick boil just to soften them because that will help speed it up. And then if you give them just a light squish them. It's going to give it all it gives you more area for crispy goodness when you then roast them. It's true. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:58:12 that's, that's actually, that's a big one. Covered a lot of ground. I'm hungry now. Poutine. Is that just a French fry in disguise for the? Yeah, that's just fry, I think. I don't think that's a I do like putteen It's just so do I
Starting point is 00:58:33 Yeah What's really the star of the show Is it the gravy or the French fries? Exactly What about the cheese curds? They're important Are they? Makes it all sticky and
Starting point is 00:58:45 Because there again If not done right Then they're just cold and squeaky Yeah and if you get the wrong cheese What are we doing here? Yeah you can't It's got to be the cheddar curd Yeah the
Starting point is 00:58:57 Duke Quebec Young Jaime does not like when they throw the shredded cheese on there. No, that's Putin. They throw what in the Yeah. Who are? This is fries and gravy that you've cheated me out of.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Those tariffs hit in the States, right? They're going to be used to corn syrup instead of maple. Use just shredded cheddar on top instead of curd and their putteen. What are you doing, guys? Come on. Sorry. America. Be friends. America. I might go and just buy a bag, although I got to go out tonight.
Starting point is 00:59:27 I got a thing. It might just be straight carb potato day. Oh, yeah. Go buy a big 20 pound bag of potatoes and just start making nothing but potato dishes today. You're right, Dean. It's chicken cordon blue and scallop potatoes tonight. You're being bored. Look at you.
Starting point is 00:59:44 You're inspired. Yep. Although Vietnamese does sound good too. Yeah, sure does. Yeah, sure does. That's a nice thing. I mean, you're not going to, you're not going to have any regrets. Potato rolls.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Shep's pie. Potatoes. Smash potatoes. Jack, if you're here today, this conversation, you know where we'd be going after the show. I'm starving right now. You know what?
Starting point is 01:00:18 Nokey. Nokey's potatoes. How's that happened? I swear that's pasta. Everyone tricks to me somehow. That's potatoes with flour. Yeah. I've passed to have potato.
Starting point is 01:00:30 Yeah. They do kind of mash. The potato. What do they? ricer, a ricer thing. Yeah. Nicer. You know what else is a sneaky favor of mine from, from years gone by, is you take your bag,
Starting point is 01:00:47 freezer section, grocery store, bag of hash browns, just like the McCain, little dacers or whatever, into a, like a roaster, whatever, like a glass. You're going to say mushroom soup. Mushroom soup. Ooh. Jeez. How do we start there and end up there? We're missing some steps in the middle.
Starting point is 01:01:07 So good. So you just, you dump the hash browns into your glass ceramic roasting dish. And then one or two cans, depending of mushroom soup in there. And then some cheese on top. It's a casserole, they call it.
Starting point is 01:01:23 So then as it all kind of comes together. Sneaking about, you know what else we missed? Being a good, Ukrainian boy yeah it's part of it I I wouldn't think of like parochies I wouldn't think of as potatoes even though it's a big part of it it's a big part of it for sure point yeah I I just feel like we're viewing the potato a little differently today now versatile quite versatile yeah I think that it's probably a good conversation to have had you know dude
Starting point is 01:02:08 Potato. Pinda Report is brought to you by Village Honda. New in-stock inventory on the ground. As always, new vehicle pricing is MSRP. The Civic Hybrid is the North American car of the year for a record setting fourth time. The Honda Accord redesigned, some tinkering done for 2025. You're going to enjoy it.
Starting point is 01:02:39 The Honda Ridge Line. It is sure-footed, reliable, as all Hondas are. The CRV. I remember when the CRV came out. It was like, yeah, that's, that's for where we live. It's economical. It's easy to get around in. Super easy to park.
Starting point is 01:02:58 All wheel drive. Lots of store. Fits everybody. How's it going to do with our crap weather, though? That's a big thing, right? It's good. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:05 So good. Okay. Learn more at Village Honda and online at VillageHonda. Ryan Pinda. Don't be trying to grow no potatoes in the same. soil year after year either. Tell me what's what? You got to rotate?
Starting point is 01:03:22 Nutrients. Yeah. Really? All right. Yeah. So you got to change the variety of potato or just put a different crop in there all together. Different crop. Okay. Noted. Like summer fall.
Starting point is 01:03:35 I took that to heart by farming this summer. Speaking of the farm, Calgary Flames went down to the American League Ranglers and have recalled Janke's Netta. What? Ryan Pinder. There's pictures of them. They're both lefties. rat. I know there was some confusion back in the day. Right. It's
Starting point is 01:03:51 Slovia has done a good job playing with everyone down on the farm because Netsov, maybe a touch more offense, but both have been excellent defenders for the HL affiliate this year. We'll see either of them around by Sunday when they open up their post four nations portion of the schedule with a home game against San Jose. There's the wild card
Starting point is 01:04:14 claims three points out. They're also only five points out from being seventh from the bottom. Occupital. We're going to have to make a decision. I said just between the group and this is maybe an off show conversation. What do we want? What do you want?
Starting point is 01:04:34 It's all coming together. Because they're going to come out of this break. And we got to decide. What are we doing? What do you want? Yeah. Well, there's a new wrinkle to this. Sorry, Dean, if I interrupted.
Starting point is 01:04:46 No, your favorite. A new wrinkle? Well, the fly in the ointment was that the Canucks were playing well and kind of. Right. Put things together. Yeah. I think that's five,
Starting point is 01:04:58 one and two in their last eight or something. Yeah. They were cruising. Demco. Week to week. Yeah, not day to day. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:05:09 Yeah. Well, at least he's got a really solid track record of recovering quickly and very firm timelines on his, hmm. Was it him? And I don't want to. speak and I'll take it back if I'm wrong,
Starting point is 01:05:23 where we led to believe that he was maybe one of those kind of guys that unless I'm a hundred percent. I don't think durability was an issue until last year to be honest. It wasn't durability. Oh, he's saying if the old mark. I think the old mark. That's who it was. Yeah, it was all mark who again.
Starting point is 01:05:40 Oh, a broken nail. Yeah. I'm going to need a week. I'm, I'm about 85%. Well, we could really use you. I'm not really an 85% guy. I, boy, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:50 I mean, talk to me in 10% time. 100% of Forrestberg. Who's to say? I mean, love them. Great guy. Sorry,
Starting point is 01:05:58 I didn't mean to put you. I didn't mean to paint you with that brush if I did. Thatcher. That's starting to get painted with that brush. Yeah. I left going here last couple of years. Let's look at the lines for the flames that after adding two regulars to practice yesterday when they got back from the non-Fornation
Starting point is 01:06:15 player break. As you see in the left side of the second line, Connor's area on the back on the back on Coleman. line. That seems like a nice home for him, a responsible defense player. And help us some offense too, please. We've missed you. Welcome back, sir. Please be ready for Sunday. Or don't. Again, got to make up our minds. Right. Well, he's going to come back. Right. You want him back. It just in an overall sense for the team. A win in San Jose, a loss in San Jose. At home. Yeah. Is that good news?
Starting point is 01:06:50 Or is that bad news? Yeah. What are you? It's, it's, it's probably a full show of what the hell do we want. Yeah. The third line's interesting. You got the two Philly acquisitions, Farabee and Frost playing together. And Igor, Sharon Govich, with them on the right side.
Starting point is 01:07:07 And then your fourth line, Guy, Kevin Raywright, Karen's had two points of wife. Kevin Ritteridge. He's going to be centering, uh, hospicell and Lombard. Still in there. at. I'm trying to look at this lineup and go. Can we just make four lines?
Starting point is 01:07:28 If we want Zeri to be a center, is there enough ice for four lines? That was the question I had when they added frost. What happens when Zeri's back? Is you going to play the middle or not? You still can, but yeah, is you a winger or a center? I don't know. I am a believer that it doesn't take
Starting point is 01:07:46 three superstars to have a good forward line. like Pospisal can go play where Sharon Govich is and Sharon Govic can drop down to where Pospicil is. Yeah, it's a well fit, right?
Starting point is 01:08:02 More than just... Rooney can go wherever and Zeri could go to where Rooney is. And so we need one more winger. Do we have anyone else that can... I'm got the Klopka if you want them. You know what I'm saying, though? Like, let's just...
Starting point is 01:08:17 Yeah, you can delete Rooney and add Zeri down the middle and spread these out a little more and just roll four lines. Sure you could, yeah. Because we got depth, Dean. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think it's going to necessarily Oh, scoring, but lots of depth.
Starting point is 01:08:30 Yeah, I don't. You can. You can probably shuffle all those around. I don't think anybody should feel overly insulted. Maybe they'd score more if they didn't play as much. Spread the time. Minutes out. Spread.
Starting point is 01:08:44 Spread. It's a real throwback day today. It sure is. To the main event, though. Thursday, tomorrow I'm told. Championship game. Is it a gold medal game? I don't know. No, it's a championship game. Four nations facing off.
Starting point is 01:09:01 Hockey. Canada. USA. Orange people may be in attendance. We'll see. It's a very wound up crowd we're expecting at the TD Garden. There'll be no Charlie McAvoy. Will there be a Quinn Hughes? Lots to get into. All we know is people care.
Starting point is 01:09:17 We weren't sure coming in. But here's the, well, yeah. Okay. 10.1 million people tuned in. That's better than every single cup final game, or non-cup final game, excuse me, since 2014. That's very good. Do you want more context on a big audience?
Starting point is 01:09:35 Well, in Canada, I believe it was 4.7 million people that tuned in for the Saturday game, 4.75 per dollar. There's our boy, Seahorn. Oh, boy. Olympic gold medal in 2010. That was the Vancouver one. Yeah, that's probably your high watermark for all sports all time. This year's Super Bowl, very good. I guess it would have been last year. That's the
Starting point is 01:09:56 overtime between San Fran and KC. Raptors, game six of the NBA finals. That makes sense. Blue Jays, man, if you ever got to a final, what the numbers would be. AlcS in 2015. Oh, that was a big number. And even the World Cup when they lost to Croatia in their open Croatia. What the hell is we talking about? It was in Qatar or Qatar. Potato potato. I think it's going to be a monster audience. It should be. A lot of it because of, I think, there is some American fans who are kind of, hey, what the hell is this? They're fighting. This is, wow, this is pretty great. I think there's going to be some eyeballs that ordinarily wouldn't be on a hockey product that will be. Especially in the U.S. So that North American total
Starting point is 01:10:42 is going to be huge. The Canadian one you'd think could be right there with a lot of those big events we just talked about somewhere from 5 to 7 million would probably be the best guess. It doesn't really matter, I suppose. What does matter more is Quinn Hughes going to play for the Americans? It's been quite a journey. Because again, we don't really have rules. So let's walk through some of the things we've learned. 926 this morning.
Starting point is 01:11:03 Chris Johnston, still working through the process of trying to get Quinn Hughes to Boston his team USA. He's has been skating and the Americans want all the best available options. Okay, fair. Bill Guerin saying they're still trying to get Quinn Hughes to Boston.
Starting point is 01:11:18 He's skating today with the canal. in Vancouver theory right that's yeah and Emily Kaplan adds more it just traveled to Vancouver and won't make another cross-continent trip unless he's going to play gonna skate in Vancouver again today where he wore a non-contact jersey yesterday and everyone's good to go potentially outside of McAvoy but now we're hearing that Brady Kachuk was I don't, there's a lot going on here, fellas. Quinn Hughes or not Quinn Hughes? We don't know.
Starting point is 01:11:55 Don't know. Yeah. I saw that the fact that Brady isn't skating is probably not a shock. I don't think if he's going, if he can go, he, right? That was the one that looked minor. The Matthew one was the one we were led to believe was more serious when we talked to Frank yesterday. Can't he just take the day off? Maybe he's doing that. Yeah. I don't. I don't. sick out there like. Yeah. But boy, if. Because again, we, we didn't think. We didn't think Kael McCar was going to miss time. He's like, oh, he's sick. I missed the game.
Starting point is 01:12:24 It's a pretty big game as it turned out. Maybe it's more than we're giving, uh, yeah, lending credence to could be something for Brady. We'll see. Uh, one more thing on Quinn Hughes. I think we have one more Quinn Hughes. Quinn Hughes, Quinn Hughes, Quinn Hughes, four D Quinn. What do we got, Quinny, Quinn?
Starting point is 01:12:42 I don't blame him for not one. I'm not flying to Boston unless I'm playing. Yeah, don't fly me out to sit in a press box. Yeah, I respect, I respect that you want me there. and all of this, but if, if I'm going to get there and all of a sudden, yeah, they're, they're not going to let you play.
Starting point is 01:12:58 What about all the swag? You would get, you know, I would think probably track suit or two, Tukes, hats. It's okay, man, moving on. There's something happening. So, because here's the thing. If Quinn comes in, who's coming out? Jake Sanderson.
Starting point is 01:13:15 So Jake Sanderson, this is a live life. That's not. That's. Oh, it's. The whole bedpan. I can't believe they got nurse angle there. What are the odds? I didn't know Sanderson had an ankle injury that he was.
Starting point is 01:13:34 He doesn't. He does now. Do you want the Trump there? Does it add anything or is it just? Yes. If we're looking for entertainment value, absolutely. Yes. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 01:13:51 I mean, we can't ignore. There's geopolitical tension here, and that would only heighten that. And it's been a part of the ingredient for these crazy buildings. And let's get Trudeau in there. Sure. Let's go. They'll be booing the hell out of him, cheering the...
Starting point is 01:14:07 Let's go. I won't know who he is. Let's really get it going. The Canadians, it'll fill half the arena will, and they'll boo him. It'll be perfect. That's a good point. And then it'd be like Flames fans cheering for McDavid. It's like, well,
Starting point is 01:14:18 am I really clapping for Trudeau here? Like, what do we do? We do have more on that in a moment. First, though, a bad omen for the Americans. There's one thing that is undefeated at the four nations thus far. Teams, which had the home dressing room, 0 and 6. This is courtesy of the play-by-play man, Chris Cufford. Who's phenomenal.
Starting point is 01:14:37 USA is in the home room. Maybe Trump forces a room change. It's why Chris is the best. He's very good. Not everyone's going to see that. Now you mentioned the Calgary fans here from McDavid. So our buddies in the Dome podcast, we watch. them a couple weeks ago. I can't cheer for Canada.
Starting point is 01:14:54 McLeave and something. This is a mic from the In the Dome pug. Trying to. Well, maybe. It's good. No, no, no. Well, it's a big goal. That was a big goal. Yeah. A bit different. Yeah. Let's go back in time.
Starting point is 01:15:13 Best on Best. Last we saw. Okay. From the bottom to the top in reverse order. 2016 was kind of best on best. you had that U23 team was screwed it up. Europe's not a country. That kind of screwed it up. 2014 was the last real best on best. Canada just absolutely deleted Sweden at like 5 a.m.
Starting point is 01:15:31 I deleted a lot of beers that night and tried to stay up through the night. Bad decision pender. That was the Sochi Olympics. We all remember the overtime goal, Canada, USA, and Vancouver. It was a ginnla to Sid to the back of the net. Sweden beat Finland in 06. That's when the Canadians brought a bunch of old goats that should not have been at a bad.
Starting point is 01:15:51 best on best tournament and left their young good players behind. 04 was a World Cup. Canada beats Finland 3-2. That's a little murky for me. Oh, that was right before the lockout. It was a tough, yeah. That one had the doom and gloom vibes. 2002, Jerome's coming out, party potentially.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Mario Lemieux, the fake shot in front lets it slide back door. There were some great players on that team. They routed the Yanks in Salt Lake, suck it. Jack, I believe, is what they said, is they won. Remember that, Jack? Was I even born? 2002. You tell me. Yes, I was.
Starting point is 01:16:26 Okay. Suck it, Jack. 98, that was the don't use Gretzky in the shootout. And of course, Dominic Hasick had a shoutout, won nothing over Russia. And then in 1996, they did a best of three for the final of the World Cup. That was a serious bang. There was a lot of highlights showing up now because it was Canada, USA, three games in like four nights. It was wild.
Starting point is 01:16:45 Yeah, I was just looking here, that old goat team from 06. I was pretty sure that a good friend of ours, Robin Rageer was on that team. In 06, was he an old coat? Love's turn. Well, you, you, you know. Weren't the flame supposed to have four defensive to make the Olympics the one year?
Starting point is 01:17:04 Yeah. So exciting. Can't wait. T.J. Brody and Marks your down top pair. Let's go. Yeah. Scott Niedermeyer, Ed Jovanowski, originally selected. The names are going to be good. That's the thing.
Starting point is 01:17:14 You just, how old they were and where they were in their careers was the disappointing part about 06. It wasn't like there was high name value because there was. Yeah. It was an older team. Did they, like, leave a young Sid at home, too? I think they did. It was sending some weird decisions.
Starting point is 01:17:33 Yeah, they had Adam foot on the blue line. A little Chris Draper in there because you want the best, you need a good team, right? You get a checker there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sid, you stay home. We got this Draper guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:46 Wade Redden, who I think was bought out. Oh, that's great. Or at least he was sent to Hartford, the Hartford Wolfpack for the next decade shortly thereafter. teams are fired up jack eichel red hayden buffalo loves them in vegas it's a game seven right it's for everything he understands the stakes yeah it's actually game one of a one game series but it feels like a game seven doesn't it did you see the clip barshand was asked yesterday's so to this intensity and all that do you feel like when you get back with the bruin's and your team that there
Starting point is 01:18:20 will be some carryover he's like no i'll be honest dude i'm not even thinking of about that. I'm focused on Canada, US. I don't even know. And tonight. He's just, he's just white Boston and the 82 game regular season off of his hard drive right now. I'm just, I, it's about Thursday. It's the Bruins and the Sabres and a half full rink on a Sunday afternoon. Welcome to Nesson's broadcast. Brad Barshans back from, no, it's not going to be. I'm not sure about that.
Starting point is 01:18:44 I am, uh, yeah, ready for Thursday. Brennan Hagel had this to say, uh, his fears were your fears, Dean, that this was going to look like an all star. Everyone thought these might be all-star games. I remember thinking myself in bed before the game. If this is an all-star type of thing, I'm going to be so out of place because I'm putting my head through a wall tomorrow. You love that quote.
Starting point is 01:19:04 What a guy. And again, it comes back to the players. The players and the fact that they have bought in and that it means as much to them is the only way that this is, because if they had to give a shit, if they didn't care, then it would be, everybody would feel it. It always does, Dean.
Starting point is 01:19:25 It's always about the players. Now, you guys are seeing that when they do the Jumbotron, and they're like the lookalikes in the stands. So they'll go to some young strapping kid with a farmer's hat on them. Look, it's Rett Warner and everyone will laugh. It's on the Jumbotron. I guess it got nasty in Montreal because, like, look, they're doing these team USA players.
Starting point is 01:19:42 I mean, geez, that's, come on, come on. No. Jeez. Jack, they're doing your guy dirty. Oh, nice. Who is that ugly? What is this? you've never seen this show
Starting point is 01:19:56 no that's a show there's a movie no horror movie anyway probably the best player in the tournament we'll see if he goes tomorrow do you want to tell jack what so yeah
Starting point is 01:20:17 they're going to film a little piece of this thing and show it to you later so depending if your team he likes wins or loses will probably depend on your interest in watching it but the four nations face off unveiled that's going to start tonight actually, geez. Nice.
Starting point is 01:20:33 So you see some of the early action. You'll see everyone pukin because apparently everyone was so sick. You'll see Elias Pedersen maybe doing cardio, Kael McCar with the squirts. It's going to be all kinds of exclusive access that you won't have on the normal broadcasts, right? That's what we need. It's how you build the game. Red had the Demko news. Still not good, even though we moved to the Pind Report.
Starting point is 01:20:59 Or it's great news. Again, it depends what you want. but for the Canucks, who, uh, he just got rid of that locker. Uh, there he is. Uh,
Starting point is 01:21:07 not going on a five game road trip. Laura Bonner. Five game trip. Starts in Vegas. So Miller is out. Deltoe is out. And, uh,
Starting point is 01:21:19 Pedersen has not really seen his game. Uh, I'm sorry, which Patterson? There's three. Yeah. The one has not seen a, uh,
Starting point is 01:21:27 discernible bump in his production or play. No. even with that dirty son of a gun, that meanie gone to New York. I'm telling you, this is a very good, what do you want? What do you want? This potentially could change things for the old ones. They looked like a team that changed their identity. We're going to win with Demko.
Starting point is 01:21:47 We're going to win two, one, three, two. They're going to lock things down. Yeah. Tougher to lock things down with Kevin Lankan, and Arthur Shilovs. Who played for, what, Finland the other day? Who knew? Yeah, played a lot. They hooked Saros after one period.
Starting point is 01:22:03 So a lot of Lankenen, more than he thought even. Well, and then Lankan got yanked. Yeah. There was that for Finland. Either way. You like bumper stickers, guys? Or are they annoying what's your take on bumper stickers? Love them.

Starting point is 01:23:40 Pay attention. Yeah. Do you ever wonder how Arnold Schwarzenegger learned English? A lot. Yeah, because, you know, he's Austrian. Is that right? That's right. And so what language he would speak, he'd be?
Starting point is 01:23:55 Australian. Close. Well, he learned with the alphabet, guys. Come on. Listen. B is for B is for bullshit C is for

Starting point is 01:25:42 Zero. Now, plain zero. That's how you learn English, Dean. I know you wanted to know. You're asking me that a bunch. Yeah, the knock knock would be an N as opposed to the K. If Jack was spelling and also the host, ostil vista. Yeah, it's more of a tough. Yeah, kind of almost cheating there.
Starting point is 01:26:06 Multiple languages. To the choppa. True lies. It's got quite a body work in there. If you watch true lies today, does it hold up or are we going to be let down? Let down? Really? I fear we're going to be let down.
Starting point is 01:26:22 Oh, dear. I love true lies. Well, Dean grew up alone. He didn't have any brothers or sisters. No, always friends, family, the environment someone's formed in and it's long-lasting impacts on their ability to fit into society. We got them hungry, hungry hippos for his birthday. Thank you, guys.
Starting point is 01:26:45 He doesn't take it at home. we thought because he didn't have siblings, he couldn't play hungry, hungry hippos, but as you can see here, you can play hungry, hungry huskies. You just need a dog.
Starting point is 01:27:03 Hey, Dave, you could have been playing all the... Could have done that, yeah, would have been a dog. Yeah, very easy. It's been a while
Starting point is 01:27:12 since we had a ladder idiot, as I believe Jack labels them. So I think we might be heading over to Europe. Now, did you paint houses in England that one summer, Rhett? What were you doing there? Yeah, I was giving back.
Starting point is 01:27:25 Painting. different things is this guy what is he doing? Oh God, I hope he's not going to let you know that's better Red,
Starting point is 01:27:40 I'm sorry because the stripe where it hits you is just did he go back a second time? No, Jack's messing with it. But in fair,
Starting point is 01:27:51 yeah, I mean, because if you put the ladder up the hallway, it's going to hit the paint. It's on the higher. I thought he could just stand. I mean,
Starting point is 01:27:58 it's not that, Well, I'm probably sure I told him that. Watch where the paint goes. It's just all over. Does it? Right on the face. Bunk. They're laughing at him.
Starting point is 01:28:10 Not very nice. Rett's doing all this. Give him back in the community. He turns around. He shows you his face. I still haven't seen the paint on the face. Yeah, we're waiting. Jack keeps your winding it here.
Starting point is 01:28:21 Frigan jack. I need clues. There it is. It looks like Steve. That's, uh, you get, pissed off when they raised the price to do one of your favorite things at the grocery store. You get mad.
Starting point is 01:28:39 Instantly. I get even. You're like smashing shit. Nerve. How dare you? Well, I want to just lay it out a little bit because this is an Australian. I spent a little time there, luckily, a wonderful country. But Woolworths is like a grocery store there. And, you know, a COLA product. The price got raised, which affected how this one Australian dad parented. The other thing you're going to need to know that Quad-X, is like a beer so let's just take it from there okay fuck you wolf 50 bucks for a box of coke

I see those around a bit. I'm more inclined to wear one. Yeah. Yeah. Let me know if that's something you're after. Village Honda, Northwest Automall online at village honda.com. They present the Pinder report. Your dealership for life. Quality people, quality products. We've been a day one OG with us. Appreciate all the support. And we would
Starting point is 01:32:42 appreciate you supporting them. that's how this whole thing kind of works. Keep punching. Keep punching. Just like that. Just like that. Yep. Yep.
Starting point is 01:32:57 Yep. What do you want to do to do to do. Maybe Vietnamese for lunch and then. Oh, look at them. Outside the box. That's unreal. Is it still like bitter, bitter cold out? Check the temp.
Starting point is 01:33:14 Minus 18 is what I'm seeing. I got minus 21 here. Gross. Yeah. Ew. But minus three by the morning. Don't know how this ass works, but there it is. Like I'm just looking at what I've got here.
Starting point is 01:33:29 I agree. Yeah. My app on my phone. Today a high of minus 13. And then for the next week to 10 days, all of the daily highs are plus zero. There's no minuses to be spoken of here. Positive numbers.
Starting point is 01:33:45 Holy dinah. Yeah. this Thursday high of three the following Thursday, which a lot could change plus 12. Tough, tough for the outdoor rings. We deserve it. Not too warm to skate.
Starting point is 01:33:58 You're right. Yeah, it'll be a tight turn there. There'll be a few days where it'll be perfect. And all that direct sun that we get here beaten down on your outdoor. I've got to get the snow off. And those pucks. And the pucks.
Starting point is 01:34:15 Yeah. Get rooting around for the pucks there. for sure. The good puck finding weather. It really will be. Yeah. If you've been holding off, finding your pucks for that good puck find and weather.
Starting point is 01:34:28 Here it is. Don't sleep on it. Good news for you. Bet 365, the world's largest sports betting platform. Big game tomorrow. Lots of action. If you needed,
Starting point is 01:34:42 somehow you need it a little more juice. You're going to find it at bet 365. Get that account. open. If you've not yet done so, promo code nation is going to help you out. The app is awesome. Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365 as we take a little gander, a glimpse. There it is. Even up, minus 110 for Canada, minus 110 for the Americans. Five and a half the total, the under minus 130, the over plus 110.
Starting point is 01:35:12 And if you like the goal scoring numbers, Nathan McKinnon leads the way, what, plus 220, for an anytime gold. Ditto McDavid. Austin Matthews in the mix as well there. Hey, which one of you guys want to be a hero for your country? Yeah, who wants the cape and who wants the horns?
Starting point is 01:35:28 Let's figure this out. Who wants it? We'll know by tomorrow, I'd say what, 10 p.m. local. Yeah. Man, what a game.
Starting point is 01:35:37 Red will be asleep. No, he'll be past, his house will be full of people. He'll be asleep in his bed. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I don't know these people that well either.
Starting point is 01:35:47 So they'll be, stunned and shocked. Yeah. Also, we got breast in action today. Yes. Big underdogs, but never count out the breast. PSG already up 3-0 in the first leg. Breast is on the road here. They're going to need to score
Starting point is 01:36:03 at least three just to get the extra time. We did a huge performance from breast today. How do you feel about those odds for breast? The plus 1,100. That's a huge of odds for sure. feels like they might be in tough. Big times.
Starting point is 01:36:28 Is that what we're, it was around the same as cavalry's odds to win in Mexico City. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, it was steep. Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at bet three, six, five. Ordinary. Ordinary. And hey, oh.
Starting point is 01:36:48 Ah, the super chat. That's right. During the course of the show, if you're in the chat on YouTube, put a little dollar down or two, and we will take the money, give it to the youth centers of Calgary. and we're going to take that message years and show it on the show.
Starting point is 01:36:59 Hands of Dan, he's in. Big $20. It's a weird feeling. Cheering for Team Canada this time around. I cheered when McDavid scored and again when McAvoy kept sitting him down. I'm so conflicted. I can't wait until Thursday.
Starting point is 01:37:12 Doesn't have to worry about McAvoy on Thursday, but yeah, I do understand that. Yeah. It's a roller coaster ride. Yeah. We all did it though, right? When McDavid scores, I said, yes. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:37:24 That's a weird sensation. cheering for that guy. Hmm. It's odd. I don't know. Now, maybe I'm not as good a fan as the in the dome guys, but nobody is. I'm willing to kind of suspend it for a day. I'll, I'll, I'll be.
Starting point is 01:37:43 Club and country are very different. I'll be pro. I'll be pro. I will. I'll do it. If only for a day. If only for a couple of hours, Rhett, can you find your way in your heart to do it? I'm an appreciate.
Starting point is 01:37:54 I'm a connoisseur of fine hockey. So yeah, I think he's a fine player. I hate the Oilers that he's not playing for the Oilers. Yeah. Yeah. You can start losing, you know, like Saturday, Sunday. But tomorrow's the win, win night for Connor. That's right.
Starting point is 01:38:09 McAfoy is still in hospital, right? Shoulder. Yeah. Infection. Joint issue. And now an infection, they've cleaned out. They did to drain a bunch of fluid. Not good.
Starting point is 01:38:18 Not great, Red. That stuff is. I played through mine, but. I was going to say, didn't you have something where it was like a cut and then it got, or what how did that go that was fight yeah i had a fight junior i hit him into tooth and uh they stitched it up without cleaning it oh the good old days yeah and then dumb as a kid too i didn't really know it was ballooned up and in massive pain and all of a sudden you're under the knife yeah i didn't know that if they hadn't cleaned it and gotten it it was coming off yeah or that guy just
Starting point is 01:38:54 to brush his teeth, but you know, it's the Western League back then. Yeah, some halitosis, gingeritis. Could kill a guy if you're not careful. Yeah. But I, but I, because, and,
Starting point is 01:39:05 those, the hockey gloves, eh? A lot of, great for carrying germs, I'm guessing. A lot of shit going on in those gloves. Well, here's T's and P's to Charlie McAvoy. Hopefully he's all right.
Starting point is 01:39:17 I was, I knew he was out, was not going to play. I didn't realize. Jay McKee had to miss game seven of this. semi-finals because of that. And what was his? His was on his leg. He'd blocked a shot, which he was thrown to do. And then it got infected. Yeah. It's not those you don't, I don't like the infection stuff.
Starting point is 01:39:40 How was our boy Jay McKee going? Is he got you an assistant coaching job lined up for next year yet? Oh, whenever I want. Yeah. Because he's going to be, he's a sexy candidate out there, I'd suggest. Sure. He's selective as well, though. as he should be. I thought you were maybe questioning his candidacy. No, no, no, no. I actually know that he's been offered a few things where he's like, yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:03 Yeah. Okay. Really? Do you agree with his, uh, or would it be? I understand his reasoning because I know him as a friend. Well, we talk about it. Like, when you get a job in the NHL and it's your first, what are you walking into?
Starting point is 01:40:20 It's usually an absolute mess. Otherwise, they're not firing a coach. And if that's, what you're going to be judged on is your results in that environment? Like, be careful now. And it's not the NFL where all these, you take the head coaching job because the money is through the roof.
Starting point is 01:40:35 It's not quite the same in the NHL. I don't know. Guys don't. Typically their first deals get huge dough. It's a prove it then on your second contract. Now we can talk about market rate for coaches. Yeah. You're going to be great, red.
Starting point is 01:40:51 I know. When the day comes. Yeah. We're going to miss you. Stay alive. Stay alive, rat. Stay alive. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:59 That's all you need to do. Just don't go dying and don't be dying. That's going to be overtime for Canada, USA tomorrow. And I'd spill in his shock guys. Stay alive, right? Just stay like, okay. Stay alive. 10 years from now, Ryan and I are still sitting here.
Starting point is 01:41:16 Just older and grayer and everybody in the NHL, no coaches are wearing suits. They're all wearing track suits and there's no morning skates. and everybody's mandatory once a week, booze parties going out and getting 10 to the team. Can't drink anymore. Warranty did it.
Starting point is 01:41:35 All that. Zoomies and weed, Redd, what are you? What's the new? Oh, there's all kinds of, yeah, medically prescribed. You can get, yeah. It's a four-day work week, even for an NHL team somehow. I don't know how we managed to get that implemented. Probably great, but 26 game schedule.
Starting point is 01:41:51 How many? He's doing. He's got us hoodwink. he's not going to be a coach he's going to take gary's job when gary retires gary gary gary uh tomorrow on the show we will i mean it's it's going to be game day us canada uh maybe some more clarity on quinn hughes will he won't he we will have all the clarity i need like what what i still connects to Vancouver that's i need to know yeah at some point if he's playing he's going to have to get on a plane he's in vancouver boston's kind of over
Starting point is 01:42:24 there on the other side yeah yeah it's kind of over there can be done but it is on the ocean just a different ocean which yeah would you just go around that way or which way would you go more lobster and tuna less salmon right is that uh northwest northwest passage open this time of year can you go north or does you have to go through the pan-well with climate change it's becoming more navigatable 30 30 tooth So less salmon, more lobster. Tuna. I would make that trade, to be honest.
Starting point is 01:43:03 I don't mind salmon, but I'm more, I would be on the other side. Wow. It's nice to have the hot side. More tuna? Yeah. Tuna's big there. All those, they got those, uh, tuna reality shows. All the Boston, the Boston guys are out there getting that tuna.
Starting point is 01:43:22 plus king crab though yeah king crab you're going Alaska there that's a good boy because I would take crab over lobster well king crab yeah hmm I'll get back to I'll think about it thanks Dean you got till tomorrow
Starting point is 01:43:40 yeah I like salmon but it's not a it's not a deal breaker for me well she wants to know you're thinking boom boom do we need helmet for tomorrow's show question you know know what? I think so. This is going to be a group effort. It's not going to be easy. We all need to dial in.
Starting point is 01:44:00 Be at our best. Pulling the rope, boys. Pulling the rope. And I, I'm excited to, in 24 hours to know where your party prep is at, retro. The food, the, uh, mega hats, whatever's been purchased or not been purchased. You got to get the dill dip going. I should make the dill dip pickle. Too easy. You should. Yeah. I'm going to. I'm going to do that right. See? You're watching. You're going to do that right. See? You're Is it too corny or would you go with some kind of a Canadian themed? So you'd have your bacon and maple cooking. Yeah. Would you go?
Starting point is 01:44:33 Maple back bacon is your garnish on your Caesar? Let's go. Alberta beef. I'm not feeding these people my beef. I wouldn't even give my kid the rib. You wouldn't give your kid. That's true. That's true.
Starting point is 01:44:45 What the hell be talking about? That's fair enough. It's for tomorrow show. I can't wait for tomorrow's show. Pump for it. Well, then let's start on it. I'll have noodles. Can't start tomorrow show until we end this one, though.
Starting point is 01:45:02 That's right. Yeah, got to end this one first. See you, buddies.
