Here we are.
You should be outside today.
Think so?
It's gorgeous.
It is.
It's supposed to be,
this might be the nicest week we got left.
Don't jinx it.
Oh, it's going to be hard to not be the nicest week.
Yeah, it's 27 tomorrow, I believe.
And it's almost October.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm getting chirped already.
Hey, boom, how about the Bengals?
Hey, listen, lay off.
I mean, not a Bengals guy.
I just felt like it was a get-right spot,
which, uh,
in hindsight it was not
I just need to
you know what I almost need to take a
a break from football fantasy
it's not good eh no it's not going well are you
are you uh is there a confidence that's
waning as well
what's that how do I love blades uh break
Klimki
climpkey boy first is that game rookie
maybe he played a game last year two goals
two assists come on now plus five
had a kid
plus five that's a season
It's a season right there.
I believe Cooper Williams also.
That'd be cool.
Calgary native.
Score to goal.
Good for you, kid.
Got the pender,
Pinder big hat going.
You've got the head like me too,
or you're,
it's a little squarshy on one side.
This one.
West tight.
Side for my big head.
How about this one?
The helmet?
There you go.
Chicago.
Hey, Cubbies.
It's you.
I say leave it on.
Do you?
Yes.
What, this one?
Yes.
You're a Chicago guy.
Love the Cummys.
Massive Chicago.
Everything's Chicago.
Yeah, that's me.
I do love the Cubbies and Chicago.
The White Sox.
I'm a huge fan.
Big fan.
Hard not to be.
Hard not to be.
How are we doing what's happening?
Bad day.
Didn't sleep, grumpy.
Grumpy.
He used a lot of cuss words when I woke up.
Oh, dear.
Then a guy jumped in front of them.
me in line at the coffee shop and paid with coins.
He almost got his head smashed through the window.
How are you doing?
Do, uh,
and he just dumped him on right on the counter.
Unpopular take.
I feel like we're at a point where we need to make old people.
Tap.
Not an old person.
No?
Which was the most surprising.
I actually wonder if he picked up on my vibe.
He was just being a dick.
Yeah.
What we got going?
That's when you should just reach over his shoulder.
He doesn't even see, just sees a hand coming in.
Tap, carry on.
Get out.
You're welcome now and beat it.
How about you, Jack, how we doing?
How are we feeling?
Doing good.
Construction.
We joke about it, but it might be true.
That there's construction companies that just come and tear shit up and repair it.
And I think they're just doing it over and over again until the money stops coming in.
Yeah, then they'll go, you want us to,
Yeah, we've got a budget for this and they're not catching that we're quadruple and whatever the word is.
7,000 times they've done the same thing.
There has been some sort of a vacuum truck outside our studio in the middle of the street.
Vacuuming.
Vacuuming something for months.
Years.
Years.
Years.
Years.
I think they're doing the exact same thing they were doing on this side, on that side now.
And this side is still not finished.
No.
Like, what a sister.
What a racket.
Great job by them.
This is a massive hat.
I bought a massive head.
You do have a big head.
Right?
Well, that really speaks to the hat.
It's big on me.
Who's wearing this son of bitch?
Why are we talking about construction?
Because it continues.
Yeah.
Well, it's just, it's just the constant.
I took a photo or a video and the guy was looking at me.
What?
What?
There was,
it was like one of those things like,
I'm not happy about it and you're not happy about it,
but yet here we are.
Still here are you?
Okay.
Here we are.
We'll talk some football coming up.
You must be ecstatic.
I said yesterday there's a chance.
You might be able to because it was in seven o'clock games for the flames last night.
Well, you had the bills to watch.
And we thought maybe there's a chance.
The bills might have it in hand by the time the seven o'clock starts,
rolls around.
But the time I walked in.
the house she was all over it uh what was it what was the lead at the half 34 34 was five straight
touchdown so what's 35 jeez 47 10 the final led by 31 at the half 35 to 35 and as uh as precarious as leads
can be the jags were not the team that was going to come back no although if i'd have been smart i've been on my
bet three six five i'd have picked them to score a touchdown on the opening drive of the
yeah yeah or whenever they've got the first possession of the second half yeah because there's
no way the bills still dialed in yeah yeah i guess they're good you got to feel good you got to feel
pretty good scored more than what is it 30 plus in all three weeks yeah josh is single living
I thought sure if that's the case.
The key to his success.
It looks good, Josh.
He does look good.
Yeah, he does.
I'm happy.
Yeah, I'm happy for you.
I'm happy for all the bills guys.
Who's not going to cheer for the bills?
If someone's really ripped about the bills winning,
that's right.
Who's not happy about it?
All of North America should be.
That's right.
And most of Europe as well.
That's right.
The Flames played two games last night.
Sure did, Dean.
Yeah.
I didn't watch, I watched one.
I turned it on again.
I wasn't,
I wasn't timing it to get to my seat with my popcorn to catch the opening face off.
I turned it on and it was a snot bubble and I watched a couple of minutes and had seen enough.
I went to,
I was going to, maybe I'll do a split screen,
maybe one on the laptop.
I got,
because I had the double,
the split on the Monday night football games.
And I'm like,
maybe I'll get my laptop on one.
and you go Oilers Plus sign in.
Give us your create an account with your...
I don't need it that bad.
No, you're not getting my info.
No contact info for you.
Daryl Cates or whatever your name is.
You're not getting my email address.
And you'll suffer because of it.
So, yeah, you mentioned spot and snod bubbling,
a bit of a, maybe a bit of a spoiler alert
because maybe people had no idea.
good game for the flames in Seattle two nights ago.
And a lot of the players that played in that game,
by the time they got home, they got home at 2, 2 o'clock or something,
spin it around, game day skate, up to Edmonton.
We'll start with the game that was in Calgary.
Would you like to see some highlights?
It's the opening statements, sure, for McLeod Law.
Yeah, it can be.
Doesn't have to be.
No, it doesn't need to be today, but it can be.
Well, congratulations to McLeod Law.
I've been doing a lot of business with them, so I've got to keep them.
Yeah, you have been.
Give them some plugs.
Give them some plugs.
Peter Klein, Shane, Shane King, everybody over at McLeod Law.
They're the very best.
They're good people.
They treat you right.
They're Calgary people and they know what it is to be a Calgary.
And you're not dealing with somebody in Toronto that's, you know, all snooty and hoity-toity.
These are good, good people.
MacLeod-dash-law.com.
Dan McCullough.
I grew up in Calgary.
Talk to them yesterday.
Is that right?
Old Dan.
Yeah.
Danny do.
Yeah.
There was a guy
and his last name was McCauley.
He was the vet,
the veterinarian back in Roblin.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Horses.
Big drinker.
Yeah, you have to.
Big buzz.
Well, every spot you go,
every farm you visit.
You have a snort?
You have a snort?
Hey, do you take a tug here?
I want I, sure.
Oh, you have some behind the seat of your truck, do you?
Oh, for sure.
Yeah.
Hey.
Okay.
So Dan McCauley.
Not the vet.
lawyer or the guy from home alone we go to the dome let's pick up the highlights for those of you that did not watch
last night should be oilers up one nothing early period yeah shot off the boards you got new boards at the dome retro
big bounty new boards
going right from now some prodry
in our lively boards you'd say lively lively
that can be a set play right yeah
How about this here?
No, this is Andrew Bashia, Calgary Kid,
second round pick, right on the tape for Sharon Govich.
Nice stop, the Bashan, Sharon Govich, little chemistry.
I love seeing it.
To the second, Coleman gets, gains the line, leaves it for back,
the little back door, tipperuni for Zeri.
That's much, very nice.
It could be a pig ear for Zeri.
And two to one. Flames P again, Vodar.
He's like, oh, line change, up to Kuzmiko, zip to Zeri, Zing,
3-1.
I'm not being a jerk.
Is it Cozmanco?
Kuzmanko.
Zeri nearly gets the Hattie, right there.
Rebound comes to Miramanov.
He buries, it's 4 to 1.
Still in the second.
Caudry.
Sharon Govich, it's 5-1 to the third.
Basha, Sharon Govich.
What can Sharongovich do?
Shoot, fuck, shoot it.
6-1.
That's your final.
Dan Vladar, his first.
start in a long time made 18 saves valteri ignacio i think it's ignatjev came and made two saves in
the third good for him yeah what we talked about yesterday not doing the yeah they do yeah
yeah that's what they did uh so yeah a pair of goals and a helper for connor zary sharon govich
two goals a couple points so yeah hey you know what a fun night for everybody at the dome you go to the
You want to see your favorite team win?
You know what?
It would have been really good?
Fresh corn.
Yeah.
Not going on at the dome for a while now.
The problem.
See, here's the thing.
Or is it really really old?
No, it'd be fresh.
Of course it'd be fresh.
Because you can buy the corn.
I'm sure about this hat situation today.
You can buy the corn at the normal,
but as you know and we know,
there's a couple of the,
yeah, there's some hotspock.
It's the popcorn place.
where they pour the butter on it.
Ladles.
You almost need to buy like some sort of a smock or a rain slicker when you buy the popcorn.
Because you're just going to ruin the lobsters and you get the bib.
The bib,
because you're just going to ruin your jeans and your shirt or whatever you've got on.
Because inevitably, some has dripped down the side of the bag.
It's coming out the bottom.
It's like, well, it needs a reinforced bottom.
You do.
Yeah, it needs some rubber, some kind of a sleeve or something.
something but it's you can't you can't not get it got to get it got to get it we got to get it
we got to get it uh so thoughts on the game great game nice win got the some big goals and kids are
scoring yeah so that are actually scoring the kids are scoring but would the same hold true in edmonton
we go up to the whatever rink it is up there and it's already as we pick things up it's one nothing
for the flames Yan Kuzenets off has given them a early 1-0.
Lee a little turnover at the line here turns into a scoring chance.
Watch this one here at the side of the net.
This is Devin Kooley.
Oh, Cam Moon goalie loves it.
Paddle save keeps it out, 1-0.
Late stages of the first.
Flames are going to gather the puck.
It's Jonathan Huberdow right in the slot.
Leads the rush.
Over to Mantah.
Two on one.
Not a great back.
check there. So Hubert O back to Matheska.
That's pretty,
Red. So you didn't take away the pass.
You didn't have a back checker. No.
Okay. Not great.
Stop the puck goalie.
To the second. Flames on the
power play. Corinado. Look at him on the left wall.
Cutting, digging,
grinding to Anderson, to
Manta, to Hubert O.
Back to Rasmus Anderson.
Back in the net.
Scores. Stores.
Cams. Says Cammo.
Flames feeling good.
Three nothing.
In control.
About a minute later, Matt Coronado again with Justin Kirkland.
Back.
Watch Coronado.
He's going to give it.
Get it, shoot it, score.
Like the goal.
Edmonton.
It's not great coverage, but you're happy for Coronado.
He's shooting.
Kids feeling it for nothing.
To the third, we go Kirkland Coronado again.
Watch this one.
out of top of the screen.
Zing.
Had one in Seattle, two here.
DeGinnla-esque right there.
Very much. Right hand shot.
That was a rip job, Bob Stoffer.
5-2.
Thanks, Bob.
Sam Hansick.
Since we've ripped him on the show.
Since we've raised every question possible.
Five points in two games.
Puck to Walker door.
Walker, it's, I think you're in tight here, buddy.
There's a lot of kids playing well.
There's Kirkland.
Yawning cage, they would call it.
Six, three is how this one ends at the Rogers something up in Edmonton.
There you see it.
So a pair for Coronado.
Actually, it looks like he got a few there.
I got Coronado two, Coronado one.
So three, three, four, five, seven goals there.
That's amazing.
Wow.
In a six three game.
That's splendid.
And my math is no good.
Three for Huberto, three assists for Hubert.
three assists for Hansick, a pair for Coronado, Kirkland, Goll and two assists, Matha, going
and an assist.
Logan Cooley was very good in this game, made 44 saves, two or three of the highlight
real variety.
You saw one of them.
So it's now, it's 6.3 in this game, 6-1 in Calgary,
lopsided game against Seattle the other night.
We're going to outscore everyone.
Who cares if we don't have any defense?
All these critics, they don't know shit.
Running gun.
They don't know anything.
They have no idea what's going on.
You know what?
Actually,
there's a lot of people getting on the bandwagon.
Now,
maybe we need to get in the Hansik bandwagon a little bit.
Some people maybe think,
hey, could Anthony Math to be the guy?
Has he unlocked Jonathan,
Hewberto get on the Hubert.
Math, this guy, what a great signing for Conroy.
Bristavich is coming around.
Grushnikov, this young kid.
Look at the deal.
Everybody's getting excited.
I mean, look at this guy.
Look now who is on the flames bandwagon now.
Loving it.
We're going to win so much.
you may even get tired of winning and you'll say please please it's too much winning we can't take it
anymore mr president it's too much and i'll say no it isn't we have to keep winning we have to win
more we're going to win more we're going to win more we're going to use that lot
you say it's too much winning it's not too much winning it's not too much
somebody posted
some play we got to win more
we got to win more we got to win more
we'll get to some clips here now as far as
line combinations now coronado's had an
unbelievable run here it's everything
you want so come in and play well get noticed
well house three goals and five points
and two games that all right
the line combos
not including him have also looked good
backland and coleman
had zeri that was the
manjipani spot
and we'll hear from Ryan Husker here in a moment.
Cadry with Kuzmanko and Sharon Govich,
they played a bit at the end of the last year.
They were good, picked right up where they left off.
They moved pospousal to the middle.
He is centering Hubertoe and Mantha one night,
but it seemed to have something.
So the question is, okay, so that's three lines.
It's not a bad idea with the pospical up the middle there
because there's a little bit of spice.
A little bit of spice.
Might have to drag in.
And I think the criticism of the other two would,
be can you play with a little emotion yeah Anthony math a big body big guy doesn't use his size
in that fashion at all anyway sorry I interrupt no but it's that's that's probably not a bad point
maybe it or does it suck pospousal back down to lady bing territory no you can't take that out
of I don't think so no no so yeah that then so now the question is those are three pretty good
lines could you start the season they're sure meanwhile there's Matt cornato a coach hello
I've just got the
I had two and one
preseason scoring here if you wanted to take a
just a quick gander at it
but nonetheless we'll get into
a little bit of it. The Backland
line with
Coleman and Backland pretty much whoever
you kind of throw in there
kind of with Backland period but certainly those
two guys veteran guys you put somebody
in there they put Zeri and here was
Huska talking about the thought process
behind that. I'm trying to find
a little bit of a combination
like Mange had with those two guys.
And Connor has some of the same characteristics,
maybe not quite the dog on the bone that he did
for that line to have so much chemistry,
but he does such a good job of holding on to Puckson creating.
And, you know, when we threw things around 52 times this summer,
we came back to that one a few times.
So we'll see.
We'll keep giving it a look and see if it continues to work for us.
Can you imagine the over-analizing the coaches?
Well, he was asked about that.
Not in a bad.
Yeah, yeah.
But you would.
You would beat it to death.
And then you'd come back to where you started.
Yeah, you would absolutely.
And it's all contingent.
If one guy doesn't,
doesn't work.
Oh, okay, just wipe it all out.
Yeah, but it's part of the fun.
But yeah, you would spend all summer,
no matter what you're doing.
You're water skiing while you're on the,
on the water.
Zeri playing the right side?
Left side?
I like Zeri.
We'll hear if.
more from from husk in the in the pender report coming up also a Tyson berry got his first taste as a
calgary flame he looked uh as you might expect in a game like that looked pretty good tie dog he
uh has always been good mover move puck could we call him tie die uh huska called him tice
i don't like it Tyson berry tebow teabere that's why i was like tie die yeah like a tie die shirt
I'm not sure. Jack, what do you think?
What if, assuming, now he's here, if he's here.
I like the T-Boe.
T-bo.
Tim.
Tim.
It's a tough, uh,
Harrison kind of,
yeah.
Whatever.
Make the team, we'll worry about it then.
So anyway.
Um,
it,
I think for Flames fans,
they're having some fun with it.
This is better than the alternative.
Sure is.
Which is shitting yourself in the preseason.
If you'd have flipped those scores around, right?
You would have lost a lot of heart.
Yeah.
So if you're in Edmonton, because they had McDavid, they had, now, Evan Bouchard.
Busharm played 28 minutes.
Good management.
Good, good time, man.
Back home, I think it was 25 minutes.
What the age?
Come on, Chuck.
Pull your head out of your hoof.
Come on, Chuck.
The hell you're thinking.
Chuck.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Did three of their D men go down due to injury?
I don't know.
But I mean, if...
Get them some preseason points.
But you're right.
If this was a situation where you got rolled up in Seattle against kind of a veteran club,
they played McDavid and the guys up there last night.
And like you said yesterday, there's a chance maybe.
The Oilers didn't take his first preseason game.
All the veterans are out.
It's a bunch of kids.
rookies on the other side, maybe you're not giving it your all.
There's a chance maybe you're not going balls out.
So yeah, have some fun with it.
But it is for everyone involved, this is a lot better than the alternative.
Well, just seeing the guy scoring and getting feeling and noticing the skill level.
Way better.
Again, you don't put too much stock in any of it when the season starts, but your vibe is
better there is a those guys go to the rank today feel better about life yeah like if they
get snobled if it's reversed they're going to the rink on who it's gross yeah even if you
sluff it off then it's well it's preseason not a big deal you're still oh yeah yeah we got a lot
to work on yeah and and certainly for the coaches it's okay let's keep spirits up here yeah yeah
keep them pause it'll be a long fucking year two nights into the preseason and already we're having
morale boost.
But yeah,
so,
now it does it give you even a little bit of pause and think,
no.
Okay,
well,
let me think.
So Hubert-Doh with Matha and Pospas.
Okay.
Well,
Zeri,
Backlin and Coleman.
That was a pretty good,
pretty good year last year for,
for Zeri.
Kuzmanko,
Codry,
Kuzmanko scored 14.
Does it give even a smidgey?
I was not overly worried about their forwards,
though.
And I,
it's their defense that's going to yeah and i still don't i don't know what their defense is
are they going to have an identity you know what i mean that was one of the reasons i think they went
out and spent a couple million on lomberg was to have a bit of identity in the bottom of the lineup
you know that weger is one of those guys i think anderson has a bit i just maybe that defense
core can keep it simple stupid and chip it out and get it to the four
forwards and the forwards can do enough to to create but i just who over the course of a season you
lose one to like i got well maybe you lose a top defense when you're in big trouble but most teams are
because after anderson and weger she's and you start to say it's okay well kevin ball and you're a man
of and hanley and paul and well and that's yeah you might be able to cycle a bunch of guys in and not
right like those are guys that were not ball but those were waiver guys yeah ball's not a waiver
guy, but I'd never heard his name before.
Yeah.
So he got traded here.
So, yeah.
It's fine.
It's,
take it for what it is.
It's preseason.
They're playing well.
Let's see what happens.
But does it give me great hope for a playoff push?
Not really.
And I said it to you off air yesterday.
That'd be the worst thing.
It might be the worst thing.
We've done all this work.
And it's not the worst thing for the fans or for the players.
But I think franchise-wise, it would be terrible.
You finished ninth.
Shit.
But they already have collected a lot of draft picks.
They have, but so what?
You want high.
We've said it before.
You need a game changer at some point.
And they've got depth up front.
They do.
They've got decent depth at front.
Who's taken over a game?
Yeah.
You have some guys here.
You want, Zeri could be good.
And Coronado maybe.
And maybe Hansa can play.
I don't think anyone's thinking there's a 50 goal guy.
That's an unstop.
Yeah, that guy's unstop.
No.
That guy could be top five in league scoring.
And even if Zari's,
Zari, Zari, Zari,
80 point guy, that's unbelievable.
Yeah.
But he's not a, he's not a focal point.
The other team isn't coming into town going,
how do we shut this guy down?
He might be hard to shut down.
He might put up a bunch of points,
but he's not a,
I always think about it.
When you go to another town,
what is the other fans?
Who are they coming to watch?
Sure.
I mean, God bless him, Johnny.
That was Johnny.
People went to watch Johnny in all the other cities.
Who on this squad?
That's the indicator of a superstar.
Who on this squad is drawing the other fans from other town to buy tickets in other cities?
Oh, the flames are in town.
Okay, who are the flames got?
Should I get tickets to this game or should I give them away to my buddies?
Yeah.
I mean, on the other side, if you're thinking from a hockey staff,
standpoint. If you're playing a team that has a marquee guy, so let's focus on him, don't let him beat us.
Maybe if you have depth and it's all spread out, it's harder to.
How about both? I always like both.
Well, it's all right.
It's nice to have a marquee guy that the other team has to focus on and then your depth guys have more space to go great.
Yeah.
But it was all right.
I'm happy with it.
Yeah.
Listen to me, complain.
Yeah.
Yeah, I was going to say something, but I figured I wouldn't.
I wouldn't do it.
A tough day.
Yeah.
Flames win 6, 3 and 6.1.
Yeah, but who's their game breaker?
Who's buying tickets to watch these guys?
Yeah, tough, Roo.
Hansick's terrible, five points.
You know what?
Hey, I'll happily eat it.
Absolutely.
I wasn't happy to eat it.
Didn't think we were offside in the opinion of it.
And he's responded quite well.
And probably he was looking to respond.
So whatever.
ever yes he prior to these two games i've been pretty quiet yeah had not the conversations i
had with other people don't change because like those were conversations it's fine go play yeah there
was some uh and that there's some concern maybe it's gone maybe it's still there you're rare if
we were wrong though but let's go back to it well we aren't wrong no we're not it's a good point but
let's go back to what you're saying is coronado raises his hand what if who else is like
what who's filling out the lineup longberg's gonna be there haven't heard pelche's name haven't
heard pelchay's name yeah it's like i said walker doer here but that that that then that leads you
into the rest of it where it's like fine walker doer's there and lomburg's there in coronado well good
luck, kid.
Yeah.
Like.
And we know things change so quickly.
And if Coronado starts in the fourth line, he's got to make this team at this
point.
It would be you're almost in that territory.
That's a shit message to send to a guy.
Well, Peltche has to clear waivers.
So he's staying and you're going down even though you were.
It happens, but it's no good.
Well, but again, the other, it's having guys around that are going to be
difference makers or point.
producers.
It's hard to bring them along on the fourth line.
Yeah.
With no one to play with.
You can tell them, we'll get you on the power play.
You'll play some power play time.
But yeah, fourth, fourth line minutes.
Yeah.
So eight a night?
Yeah.
Eight, nine a night.
And the other thing is, too, he's been playing, I'm trying to remember who he was with in
Seattle, but he hasn't been part of this group, but has still been scoring.
He was with just Justin Kirkland last night.
Yes.
Kirkland goal to assist.
It's Coronado two goals.
I don't know that it's Kirkland making Coronado go there.
It's not my...
Much like Mantha driving the Huberto.
Not my inclination necessarily.
I think it'll all work itself out.
This is a, I believe today is an off day.
They've had rookie camp in a training camp.
There were three games in the last two days, right?
So soft.
These kids, athletes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, and I would expect.
Be some junior guys.
Hey, hope you enjoyed Penticton.
You got into a game or two?
There'll be some junior teams looking for some kids to come back.
Yeah, they'll be, hey, is Conroy there?
Excuse me, is Craig, Jerome, anybody?
So, yeah, I would think they would get things trimmed down.
They now have a, we'll look at it in the Pinder report,
but they've got a handful of games still left in the preseason
before things get going in a couple weeks.
Today's Tuesday.
two weeks and a day away from the start.
Season opener, October 9.
Is that your math?
I think so.
Okay.
Because I'll trust you.
Is today Tuesday?
Think so?
All I know is tomorrow,
13 years ago, Green Bay played Minnesota.
Well, yeah.
About a Sunday afternoon.
Great song.
Beautiful Sunday.
Yeah, yeah.
No, I was up doing stuff last night.
I got looking at my phone.
It's like Tuesday.
God,
and I got to get my football waivers in for fantasy.
Oh,
no,
it's just because it's after midnight.
I didn't even know what day it was.
Was today Monday?
How many shows have we?
What are we doing?
Just an idiot.
Just an idiot.
Let's do the Pinder report.
We're kind of dancing around.
We'll get into a little bit more comments from one of the goaltenders as well as the head coach.
Village Honda,
of course, brings you the Pinder report.
There are a few days left this month.
and until the end of the month,
Village Honda wants to buy your car.
They need some used, quality used vehicles on the lot.
Sell Village your vehicle this month
and get payment in 24 hours
and a trip to Las Vegas.
Complementary appraisals,

So we heard there from both the former president
and Ryan Huska on the Backland line.
Connor Zeri and Pitter brought it up.
Yeah, a year ago,
we weren't really talking about Conner's area.
Didn't expect a whole lot.
That's good.
He's a first round pick.
All right.
Come in,
go back,
do whatever you're doing.
But then got called up and has not left and does not seem like he's leaving.
I hope he is a fixture here.
And you hope it just continues to get better.
Ryan Huska was asked last night.
So Zeri comes in a year ago.
He was just one of the kids.
Now he's maybe relied upon in the top six.
What's the expectation?
For a young player,
I would think you would be able to speak to it.
Make it clear to me what you want me to be.
Am I a checker?
Do I need to be better defensively?
Do I just go all out offense?
Is it goals?
What do you want from me?
You want to make it a defined role,
make things clear for the players.
Here's what Huska had to say about that for Zeri.
Like it's often hard for a guy that's had success
like he did last year to come back
and not feel like things are going to be easy.
And I, you know, I give him.
Connor a lot of credit because he went and worked this summer again like the majority of our
players and he wants to come in and wants to almost treat it like I have to earn my way back to these
spots so I'd like to see him be a guy that's responsible defensively I think he's learned to be
that way having him play on that line is something he's going to have to do because we know that
line plays against top players but it also makes them more of a threat so I want him to feel like
he can still control the play by holding on to the puck but also at the same time continuing to
grow and recognize, hey, there's a time and a place where we have to put it deep, and I don't
have to play through someone here. And hopefully as he continues to grow and develop, he'll
really learn and understand that. When you're with that backland line, you have to play,
and with Colin, you're going to have to play the right way.
Heavy lifting? Those guys are going to keep you honest. And as you said there, yeah, you're
going to be against the top players. So it's, and you're mixing things through with preseason.
but it's a I think it's a pretty good badge of honor for zary to earn that spot great spot you're
into training camp that's pretty great you're going you're a forward coming into camp and you're
go where can I try if you could pick one spot to be yeah every forward would be like this guy's got
a couple what couple cups and this guy's the captain I know what they're going to do 17 years or
whatever it is I I don't mind the fit it and again it can change could coronado slide in there
Coleman moves on. Yeah. But Zerry doesn't strike me as one of those guys, because I'm sure
there's, and there's probably examples of people could have it off the top of their head.
Guys to come in, have a good year. It's like, wow, this, we got a top six player here.
We got a top nine guy. And then it trickles off.
Yeah, David Moss. Because what was he, 2025? And then didn't match it, even to a certain
extent, Sam Bennett, came in, had a great rookie or a good start. I don't, I don't worry so much
about Zeri just with how he plays.
It feels like, like you say,
is he going to lead the league, Art Ross?
Likely not.
But I feel like he's going to be a contributor.
He's going to be a guy that's here now.
I don't know if anyone else picked up on it.
I really listen when people talk.
You're so smart.
Yeah.
The majority of our guys.
I did hear that last night.
Yeah.
Because the majority of our guys worked hard in the,
yeah, because he worked hard on the off season,
like the majority of our guys did.
Hmm.
So who's the big tub of shit?
Hey, who's the bag of milk in there?
Who's at Fat Camp?
Who's at the rink today?
Let's go down and watch the cars driving.
Yeah.
See who.
Oh, everyone's got the day off except you.
Oh, are you here for some.
Going to ride the bike?
Oh, you're on the bike today.
I see.
That's how that goes.
Yeah, there would be some guys like,
fuck, I can't believe Huska's ripping me in the fucking media.
Selling me out.
That's the thing you don't get is.
so how about it Michael Backlin, number one in fitness testing.
Ryan Lomberg spent all summer celebrating a Stanley Cup win,
number two in fitness testing for months.
We don't turn that list upside down and see, okay, so who?
What's the, yeah, who was into the Poutine all summer at the lake?
Who was not on the bike?
So that's the story with Zari.
mentioned Tyson Barry.
It would seem like this is a prime opportunity for him to get
some minutes. He's on a PTO. And like you say, as you imagine he would, he looked pretty good
amongst that group last night. He should. You can notice his puck play. That's the one thing
that stands out for you with him. He's got that composure that a elite offensive defensemen have.
And he's played a long time now. So the composure level that he has with the puck is significantly
different than a lot of younger, up-and-coming defenseman. And he has the ability to,
to make those plays.
So overall, I thought he had a real good night for us.
Yeah.
You should.
He did.
You should, you did.
And if you want it, you're going to have to go.
Yeah.
Continue to do it.
Yeah.
So you'll five, we'll run through the schedule in a moment,
but five games left.
I don't know how many.
The thing is, there's not a lot of other guys that have spots really sewn up on that
blue line.
Guys are going to want to play some games.
Miramanoff is here, I guess.
The hall is here, I guess.
I don't know because there's a lot of bodies.
As good as Grushnikov has been.
There's a lot of five, six, sevens.
Right?
He's still, go to the American hockey league.
Bristevich, get him in the American hockey league.
Perik, are you going to go back to junior, that whole sort of thing.
I'm going to have to go back to junior unless he makes a team.
Anyway, so, yeah, there's...
I just said something interesting about that.
I can't remember what it was.
Oh, it has to do with those NCAA rules.
Yeah, that's the thing.
That's the thing.
When you're a drafted player at 18, you have to go back to junior.
You can't play in the American Hockey League.
And then if you play in the Western League, you can't go to NCAA.
And it's, might be changing.
Might be changing.
In fact, Pinder had a chance to talk to Dan Nierer, the Western Hockey League Commissioner.
Might have that for you a little bit later this week.
Devin Cooley was the goalie in Edmonton.
He was good.
Made, what we say, 40-some-odd saves, throwing his body around.
And as we found out afterwards, kind of a,
goalies are a little different.
They're a little, maybe a little goofy, a little different.
Yeah.
I'm just kidding.
People were liking Devin Kooley's post game.
There's a lot of fun out there.
You know, I saw a lot of shots, so that was great for the experience.
And it just take me through kind of what your mindset was on some of those chances
where you kind of just flung yourself at the pot?
Yeah, I mean, you pretty much got it.
It's basically just fling yourself to the puck and pray that it hits you.
And luckily I got hit with a lot of them.
Sometimes, like, you go through games, and it's like, you see this exact same plays,
but it goes under your arm, it goes over your arm.
It, like, doesn't hit you.
And so tonight, I was like, well, I'm getting a lot of luck.
Like, everything's hitting me.
Oh, my God, yeah, they kind of dominated early on there.
And when you put up six goals, like, you can't complain at all.
So it was awesome.
And that's kind of why I came here is to show that, you know,
I don't suck that much.
And hopefully I can help this team get some wins, you know, in the regular season.
And, yeah, it's a great competition.
and there's two other really good goalies.
There's five other really good goals.
Every boy here is sick.
Like what you saw tonight,
like we're a younger team,
inexperienced team against, you know,
some of their best guys,
but like, we were buzzing, you know?
And it's like, I think that was because,
you know, it's such a competitive environment right now
and everyone's trying to compete for a spot.
So it's like, everyone's like go time,
like given their very best and it's awesome to see.
Like I've been an underdog my entire career,
it seems like, you know?
So it's like, I know what it's like to be an underdog
and I'm sure, like, the guys in this room
like love to be an underdog, you know?
because there's no expectations.
No one expects much, you know.
And so it's like, we can just go in there and prove everybody wrong.
And it's the best feeling ever when you prove somebody wrong.
It's sick.
It's sick.
It was awesome.
Like it was awesome.
It was sick.
These guys are sick.
Goleys, you like having.
Hey,
there's some good enthusiasm.
That guy's great for the rest of the guys.
Sure.
The reporters need him and they're done.
That is great.
Yeah.
I haven't played in two weeks.
Yes, but your thoughts on the second period.
wicked. It was wicked. It was awesome.
Okay, so the schedule looks like this for the remainder of the preseason.
They are going to go to Abbotsford.
I was thinking that, but I got looking at Ryan Huskin never coached Abbotsford.
I don't, so I think it's, Ryan Pinder was an Abbotsford.
Bednar. Is that what it was? Yeah.
Time keeps on ticket. So there's very, there's not really many connections left to the old
Abbotsford team.
Vancouver, that's tomorrow, eight o'clock start.
We go ahead to Saturday.
It's Vancouver again.
They come calling at the dome a seven o'clock start ahead to next week.
Seattle and then a pair against Winnipeg, one at home, one there to wrap things up.
And by the last, you know, not October 4th, you get everybody in.
It's going to be probably your, I might go to that one.
Your opening night roster.
Some alumni at that game.
A Friday night.
Popcorn.
Cool.
Lobster bid.
They're putting the food out for us.
Yeah.
Really?
Oh, baby.
Finally, you guys get a break.
Regular season opens October 9 in Vancouver back home to take on the flyers on the 12th.
That Connor's area right there.
Did I read?
He's a, I'm keeping 47.
Somebody asked him, well, you're going to change your number because that's a train of cabinet?
I think I'm going to keep it.
Not bad.
I like it.
It's all right.
Dig it.
Oh.
Now, do you watch?
the what's the the car race the f1 dare to dare to survive or drive to survive
or whatever it is watched some of it i don't get as enthralled with it as some people but it i do like
yeah don't you have was one of your buddies big time into it oh yeah yeah even d u g thinks
that he's uh yeah well not i can't believe they're on softs what are you talking about i mean
they're they're still running softs and uh hamilton's on on okay yeah i got it um um
They're doing it for hockey.
I love the behind the scenes stuff.
Anytime you can get in,
and even like hard knocks.
This year with the Bears,
I just didn't think it was as good.
It just doesn't seem to be as unprotected.
It seems very kind of staged.
We'll see what it looks like for,
for the NHL,
as they have put together the face-off.
And reviews are good.
Here's a quick look at the trailer.
For me, what makes hockey the greatest sport on the planet?
It's the skill, it's the toughness,
it's the passionate fans that treat it like a religion.
It's the stories of men who sacrifice everything
for one reason, for the glory of the Stanley Cup.
Hockey players are the toughest.
They're warriors.
They embrace this lifestyle that they get to live.
It turns on me if you want it.
Yeah, turn the camera off, dude.
Maybe outside there's not as much pressure.
When we get in between the walls of our locker,
we have more pressure on ourselves than anybody.
If we don't get the cop,
it doesn't matter who moves on from the first round.
Shoot it.
Enough for crying, bro.
You're going into war.
You want to just put it all out there?
Because you really don't know what the hell can happen.
That's not good enough.
The finals.
Big!
In right now!
When all the chips are on the table, if you can't perform under that type of pressure,
then you're just not the guy.
We're putting everything we've ever had into these 60 minutes.
This would be the thing that I chase until I can't chase anymore.
And you thrive under pressure, right?
Of course.
Will that be something?
Now, the rest of us losers have not been in an NHL room,
and I've had that kind of a thing.
had a great career. You've been in many highs and lows and locker rooms and moments. Is that
something that you feel like I can relate with that? I'm totally in or you watch and say,
I think I can relate to it. I don't know if I'll, yeah. It almost gets too emotional to be
honest with that. Is that right? In a way, if it's done well. If it's, yeah, because you're like,
yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It does. It sucks you in. Even when you're watching hard docs or whatever
it is, it doesn't take you long before, I'm in, I'm in the room.
I'm ready to play. Yeah, I'm coach. He and I, we get along. Yeah, we're the same.
The, uh, I, I didn't get in, I'd read a whole lot about it because it was with, with Edmonton,
but obviously you saw McDavid there. He had said afterwards that was game two of the Stanley
Cup final. And it sounds as though that he's, he's screaming at, uh, we'll take a look at it.
Here it is isolated.
That's not good enough.
final.
Things end right now.
I just swore.
Did they bleep it out?
Because there's no way he just said right now.
I don't know if it's,
yeah,
that's the thing.
I don't know if it's censored.
Again,
I hope it's not much like this show.
So much better.
That he was maybe going after
Evander Kane or somebody,
that it was specifically not one guy.
But he was asked about it.
And McDavid was.
He said,
we didn't,
we just let them,
they miced us up.
We agreed.
to it just roll whatever it is
because there is some tough
behind the scene stuff we've all seen that
I wouldn't want the camera in the room
game 7 Tampa or Buffalo or yeah like no
that clip of the Oilers in the room
and you hear Betman
announcing McDavid as the Khan Smyth winner
as he's sitting in the room and they're all just there
again I don't need to tell you I guess
but that's that that
they allow that to be seen
that's pretty great
Great. Maybe if it's your favorite team, you don't want to see it.
It's not as good.
But from a fan...
You can feel it.
Yeah.
From a fan perspective to be able to see that is awesome.
And I'm a bit off topic, but I don't think other people, professional hockey player, or not hockey,
but professional athletes have to put as much in to win their championship.
Does that make any sense?
As in hockey?
As compared to hockey.
Yeah, yeah.
what you have to go through in the playoffs to get there and win.
Yeah.
I mean,
to me is just,
it's different than,
and it's not taking away from the talent and the abilities of other sports and,
and players,
but there's no way the grind is.
You play a lot of games in the,
in Major League Baseball playoffs,
but there's no physicality involved.
In football,
it's very physical,
but it's a quarter of the games.
Like,
it's,
well,
and how much of the,
Anyway, I'm not, I'm not belittling the other things.
But to watch those guys that lost and have that raw emotion and just recognize they've put everything and more.
Yeah.
Again, off topic and just watching that.
Was the, was 04 for you the hardest one?
Yeah, because the Florida against Colorado, they had, they're so good.
Yeah.
I mean, they're not easy to lose, but I was also a rookie and didn't know any different.
We were going back next year, right?
Yeah, yeah.
That's what we do.
Yeah.
The Dallas one, I didn't play the final game because I broke my ankle.
And you felt cheated in that one.
Like that was a hard one.
But again, you're still young.
Like that was twice in four years.
See, I didn't realize it was that quick of a turnaround.
Yeah.
So my first NHL contract.
It went.
So anyway.
But I felt like I had more impact on the,
the last one here in Calgary.
Yeah.
So yeah.
And that close.
Well, and you know what?
You get a little older.
This doesn't just happen.
It happened often enough where I was fortunate,
but you start to recognize,
like, you're like, well, this is the third time.
We should, odds are.
Yeah.
No, odds aren't.
So the McDavid thing there.
And again, there's editing involved, right?
there's one where the guy comes to close the curtain so you don't always so you take audio from
here and you put it here it's okay you can make it look pretty good is there a lot of screaming
i mean iggy's the captain is he screaming at guys was there screamers was a guys get guys always talking
and good rooms and good teams guys could say stuff to each other yeah in bad rooms it rips it
part, but in good rooms, it's, yeah.
And I, again, just reading comments online.
So I'm kind of surprised to see that McDavid.
I wasn't because I would think by now in his career,
he has been dragging as he had,
did he have a point in game six or seven, whatever?
He has been the best player in the world.
He's been dragging that team with somebody,
of course he's screaming.
Guys, it's the cup final.
What are you waiting for?
So yeah, whether or not it's a,
applicable or fair, but yeah, I would think that...
Scream more.
Yeah.
Get somebody else screaming in there.
Anyway, so that's coming out.
And NHL, I love Red Zone.
Do you do the Red Zone for football on Sundays?
I can't afford it.
Okay.
For those that don't.
The bosses would pay for it.
And I want you.
You can write it off with your corporation.
Oh.
Long Arm Incorporated.
If you don't know what Red Zone is in football,
you turn it on on Sunday and you're watching.
all the games like okay let's go here let's go to Tampa let's go to Indianapolis so you
see scoring scoring plays field goals everything happens there's no commercials well
they're gonna do it with hockey now they've tried this before they've tried it with
baseball and diamond surfing was kind of what they tried debuting October 10th on
prime so this is some Bezos there's more Bezos money coast to coast live look ins
highlights analysis from every NHL game happening that night every
Thursday.
Our buddy,
Adnan,
Verk,
going to be part of the
process.
Shut the front door.
Yes, sir.
Oh, baby.
I text on.
I said,
so you get some of that
Bezos money.
He's like,
yeah,
I still got my baseball
stuff going on,
but, you know,
I'm looking forward to it.
Wow.
Is he running out?
Of dough?
Yeah, Jeff.
Adnan,
I don't know.
I don't think so.
It feels like there's just more.
He's okay.
It must be,
it must be so.
I tried to spend so much
money yesterday.
There's still more in here than when I went back last.
I thought it works in my house.
Nope.
That's not how it works.
Jack, what do you think?
Every Thursday.
Why would they put it on Thursday?
NFL.
Compete with the NFL?
That's what I'm,
no, I'm like.
Yeah.
Well, didn't they always have,
because I was just thinking for us,
maybe we could do something with our bets.
If there's a, I thought Wednesdays.
Wednesday was kind of a lot of
Wasn't it a, I'm sure down in the States they called it rivalry Wednesdays or something like that.
Yeah.
So I don't know.
Maybe it is to.
Because when does.
But when does, doesn't, is that the Monday nighter that Prime has?
That's what I was wondering too.
Is it Thursday night Amazon as well?
Yes.
We should probably know this.
Yeah.
No.
Where's Bender?
Sports shot.
Pinder would know all this and stuff.
So anyway, they'll give it a shot.
We'll see how it goes.
if you don't have a diehard team that's playing that night,
or maybe even if you do,
yeah,
I want to see some goals,
want to see some hits.
There's no fights anymore.
Maybe you want to see.
With football,
it just feels like there's always something going on.
There's a play to be made, yeah.
You can go through 15 minutes of a hockey game.
You could have four hockey games and no goals.
Let's go to Edmonton and watch.
But they'll skip the power plays and stuff like that.
So near the end, it could be.
I'm not against it.
Yeah, I try it for sure.
And I hope it works.
That'd be awesome.
Near the end, if you can go three on three overtimes, shootouts,
banging back and forth, that could be.
Yep.
That could be fun too.
You probably have to throw, yeah, I'd do split screen, I suppose.
They call that picture and picture, Pip.
Yeah. Techie.
That's right.
So, I think it was yesterday I showed the first goal in the preseason scored by the Utah
Hockey Club.
Yeah, it was in St. Louis.
Well, I wasn't in St. Louis against St. Louis against their own.
Well, last night at the Delta Center in, like it's Salt Lake City.
Is that in Utah?
Having a clue.
11,131 fans, which is a sellout for the current hockey configuration.
They'll get it up.
They've got a three-year plan to renovate this thing or get to do, I don't know what they're doing.
But of the 11,131, I think they had a decent night.
Dersie
to the middle
Mere's Sted Mika
and he's going to go
and Travis Barron
Barron's trying to grab
him maybe trying to toss him
Oh he got him turn around
Barrett with him
Keller out there
and
Nick Smaltz as well
so it's dumped into the corner
Steered away
Keller will pick it off
and Clayton Keller comes in
and shoots he scores
Goes home happy
I want to do it
I saw Clayton Keller.
To me, it's such an indicator of how important the fans can be.
So big.
So huge.
Those guys want to put on shows.
And if you give them your emotion, they're going to give you.
I thought about that.
It's an exhibition game preseason.
How many, when's the last time they played in front of 11,000 home fans?
Not at the Mullet Arena.
When would they have?
The playoffs, that one?
Yeah.
Like, when would there have been 11,000 fans?
to cheer them on.
Long time.
So yeah,
it's pretty cool.
And it's not ideal because the one end is.
Oh, God,
we'll complain about everything.
Do you think the fans in Utah are met?
Then what the hell do we care?
They got some goals,
a scrap,
win it in overtime.
This hockey's great.
Yeah.
But we don't have good seats.
Shut up.
That's right.
You could see.
There you go.
Yeah,
but who's going to be their game breaker?
when they come to town
who are people buying tickets to see
tickets to watch these guys
Winnipeg Jets signed Cole Perfetti
he was an RFA
Cole yeah
had 19 goals and 38 points
last year it was a 2020 pick
10th overall
10th yeah
two years
six and a half
and these boys
make a lot of down
and that's that's a bridge
yeah that's Cole saying
okay you win
fine I want to play
I'll prove myself
3 to 5
I guess.
Tony DeAngelo,
interesting dude,
drafted in the first round
by Tampa Bay,
before he plays a game
for the Lightning,
they trade him.
One year in Arizona,
then to the Rangers,
got into a fight with
Alexander Georgiev.
They let him go.
He goes to Carolina,
who then trades him to Philly.
He goes back to Carolina.
They're like,
we're out of the Tony DeAngelo business.
The guy could play.
He's 28 years old.
He's still a pretty good defenseman.
But the league has said,
eh,
I think we're good.
He is going to the KHL.
Ah.
To S.
K.A.
St.
Peter's.
Taking the money and run.
Yeah.
I wonder what you make.
I make you make a decent.
Remember you,
it was,
oh,
you go to the K.
H.L.
I don't know that that's quite.
It's not as renowned as it used to be.
For a while there,
they were,
well,
Yager.
Yeah.
Guys would just go.
Uh,
Rajelov.
You're a very good player.
Yeah.
I am.
Yeah.
I'm making 15 million over here.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Tax free?
Oh.
Tax free.
It's no Vegas, but yeah.
Yeah. So I see it.
There you go.
Now this one here is pretty cool.
And I don't know, I think probably by now if you're on social media and you've watched,
you've probably seen this clip by now, but we wanted to show it.
John Tortorella, I think sometimes John is the guy who plays the role.
He portrays the hockey coach John Tortorella because then you see stuff that happens away from the rink.
and he's into animal rescue and his son's in the military and does a lot for military folk and all of this sort of thing.
Yesterday, Flyers are practicing.
And so who's, who's the, that's Guy Goodrow.
Johnny and Johnny's dad was out on the ice with the flyers yesterday.
And then afterwards, John Tortorello was asked about the collaboration.
Behind it is I called him and I wanted to know if we want to come out.
But it's pretty close to home here as far as with his family and all and what's going on there.
He's a coach.
First time I met him was today.
I never met Johnny and Matt.
I never met them in my travels as a coach.
But their family's here.
A horrific situation going on.
He's a coach, and he's done some great work out here with some of the youth out here.
And I figure it's perfect just to get him in with us.
He was hesitant at first and we kind of let him go at his timetable.
And I think it worked out really well today.
I gave him my camp book.
We're going to check in next week and see if we can get him out here a couple more times
and have him be part of it.
I don't want it to just to be come out here.
I want to be part of it.
We saw him banging the stick there.
As guys were circling around?
Is that maybe something, too, you have in common?
Yeah, well, I don't know.
He was giving me shit that I was yelling at the players to skate harder.
He says, you only have three lines.
out here. How much harder can they go? And so he's paying attention. That's great. It's so great.
I mean, you get, you get emotional about it because it is great. And it's the right thing.
It's a great thing. It's the right thing. And he knows it's the right thing. But he also know he's
not just doing it to be a nice guy. He's not calling me out if I'm involved in it. That's a pretty
cool thing. And it's that side of torts. I don't know if we, I wish you see more of it.
But sometimes when stuff, oh, torts this, torts this, I just, I don't think that's him.
I think that's who he thinks he maybe has to be. Maybe that's a lot of coaches. Like Daryl.
Darrell, the hockey coach is so different than Daryl, the guy, the human. And it's almost like for
torts, I don't know if he's loathe or whatever it is. I think sometimes he doesn't want people to see that he's,
actually a decent guy or a good guy,
but that was pretty awesome.
That was wicked.
I didn't know that happened.
Two football.
There were two games last night.
They may as well have not played the first one.
I mean, you enjoyed it if you'd watched it.
By the time, like you said earlier, you got there,
was already friggin in the bag.
But the Buffalo Bills,
your bills,
put on a clinic.
What do they call it? They're a wagon?
They're a wagon.
Yep.
They are absolutely a wagon.
Keon Coleman,
rookie.
Two weeks ago,
touchdown,
last week,
didn't have a target
or a reception.
Cost me to win.
Back in the end.
Jason.
Kids good.
Might be their number one receiver.
But they,
they flexed hard.
The final was,
uh,
who's the coach?
Peterson?
Yeah,
Doug Peterson.
He didn't,
he,
no,
I'm going to stand here.
Yeah.
because I have to.
4710, the final.
They led by 31 at the half.
Josh Allen, four touchdown passes.
11 games now with four,
at least four TD passes.
That moves and past Jim Kelly for most in team history.
They're three and all.
They've topped 30 points in all three games.
The Jags are a complete mess.
21 of 38 for Trevor Lawrence.
TD interception.
How bad was it?
Mack Jones came into the game to play.
And then he was sacked and fumbled.
It was just...
The only downside to that game was if you were there,
and we discussed this out of my house,
do you leave at halftime?
Do you beat the traffic?
Do you just head right back to the tailgate?
I don't know.
It's a fun atmosphere.
I mean, it's a party.
If anything, it might be to stay and see,
just how blood-bath-esque does this get?
Yeah, maybe end of the third.
Could this be one of those games that people talk about?
Remember, they put up 101 points
against Jacksonville that Monday night,
just to say you were there.
So the bills now,
they'll play their third straight prime time game.
They've got Baltimore on Sunday.
Josh Allen, pretty good.
Vegas, is I'm not sure.
Favored now.
Oh, wait.
As NFL MVP.
Isn't that something?
Maybe I mentioned that.
Did you mention that?
Maybe I've got that pick in my out.
But I thought, wasn't it,
didn't you parlay it
with some NCAA game that lost.
Wilson State had to beat.
And then they lost so you.
Son up.
Yeah.
That would be great if you had Alan from before the start of the season,
but because you hooked it to some shit college game.
Now I got him.
I got it.
NFL, regular season MVP.
How are our odds looking?
What are you going to do with all the money?
When you win.
Chicken sandwiches.
Nice.
chicken sandwich. I was going to get wings yesterday. It wasn't worth it because the game was over.
Yeah. Well, we saw you were at the game with the shoveler. And I didn't know the shoveler.
She's from, Josh, I just got married, but I'd leave my husband for you. P.S., he's right here.
Look at dude.
Guys like, you go ahead, honey. You know what? She fucking would too. Yeah. You would too, wouldn't you?
No, no. He'd be like, you go ahead, honey, because.
Yeah. That's the right move.
So I heard your wife was with Josh.
Yeah.
Wicked.
That's so cool.
So, babe, tell me about it.
I thought sure everybody would have that kind of confidence, but there it is.
We mentioned Trevor Lawrence for, what, two years in college?
Very.
This guy's the next guy.
He, uh, when you compare the numbers with he and Danny Dimes, who is regarded as being,
as you see their worst quarterback ever.
The generational talent, either right there or blow what Danny Dimes has put together.
I wonder if that's it. Jack, now you're a quarterback guru.
You really are. You're our quarterback in us.
I am the quarterback guru. Honestly, if anything's shown me this year, is that coaching is super important.
Oh.
Like Baker having a big year, Sam Darnold having a big year.
Derek Carr seems to rebound it a bit.
I think get these guys in the right situations and they'll they'll be good.
How about Green Bay?
You lose Jordan Love.
Yeah, and Malik Willis comes in and he looks like a first round pick.
You rattle off two more wins.
You're bang on, I think.
And then there's other places that clearly don't have good coaching.
So, yeah, you're shit.
Some of its quarterback play and yeah, you need some receivers and you need an offensively,
and all that sort of thing.
You're going to have the pieces, too.
But yeah, the Steelers and we joke about, they're three and oh.
Detroit with Justin Fields.
Yeah, Detroit's no good.
There's some talent there now,
but Dan Campbell clearly opened that up a little bit for them.
Yeah, Tom,
and all he ever does is make the playoffs.
Oh, that's what he does?
Every year.
Three and O?
Yeah, they're going to make the playoffs again this year.
This is a good one.
We did our bets for 365 yesterday,
and did you have Jamar Chase first touchdown?
Were we talking about that?
I did, yeah.
Yeah.
Did you actually play it?
Yes, I did.
Outta boy.
You love a good parley.
Yeah, so this next guy is living out my dream.
He bet $250 on the three first game touchdowns,
Amari Cooper and Taylor who got theirs,
and he needed Jemar Chase for $117,000.
Oh, what a night.
It's a good luck bear cat.
Oh, my goodness.
Oh, my goodness.
That's what we would all say, I think.
So that's your dream is to hit a,
a monster.
Yes, that is.
I can't,
did you hear his parlay
from two weeks ago?
I think we talked about it.
I can't remember it exactly.
Field goal parlay.
That's right.
And then that Thursday,
I don't know if you guys watched
the Thursday night football game.
They showed a graphic that it was like,
that week was the most field goals ever.
And when I saw it,
I was like,
fuck,
we're screwed.
That's not.
Because what,
you had 15 games.
15 games.
You needed at least two and a half.
Two and a half in every game.
Every game hit,
except for one that had one,
hit two field goals.
We were one field goal short, yes.
And then we bet it this past weekend it wasn't even close.
No.
No, my kid had the one and a half field goals and even it didn't hit.
He was sour about it.
But, uh, yeah, that's a good one.
That's, and that's flag.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, flag.
Flag. Flag.
No flag.
No flag.
That would be, uh, you'd be devastated.
Well, good for him.
And ladies and gentlemen, please.
Gamble responsibly.
Yeah.
Of course.
I'm sure it was $250.
I'm sure he's well to do.
It's probably well within his means to put down.
Respectful young man.
Very respectful.
I'm sure he's got a lot of a lot of cash in his bank account and that's not a big dent if he were to lose that.
Moving on the second game.
Whoa, we sat here and talked about the Bengals.
They got T. Higgins back and it's another week for Chase.
So we saw it got a touchdown.
He's going to be better.
And Washington is no good.
In fact, some of the Bengals, I forget which Bengal player was,
is like, this is a college offense.
This team is no good.
Their quarterback is a rookie, this and that.
And it was, yeah, it did not go that way as we saw one of the best performances ever by a rookie quarterback.
And seven, this one is launched from a quarter.
He's got it.
Incredible.
Incredible.
just every part of that, how he sees the hit coming.
Like for a kid to not bail out on that throw and know he's going to get cracked,
to make that pass and then for McLaurin to somehow get in.
Gobble it up.
And everybody loves a good big man touchdown.
That's his first touchdown throw.
Love it.
Yeah, everybody loves a good big man touchdown, right?
So they win it.
for Daniels, a rookie record for completion percentage, 91.3.
He was 21 of 23 for 254 yards in the air.
He put one in himself.
They scored on every possession,
except for kneel downs at the end of each half.
The commanders haven't punted or turned the ball over
in their last two games.
And in this game, neither Washington nor Cincinnati punted
or had a turnover.
That's the first time it's ever happened in the Super Bowl era.
Just points.
Just points.
Yeah.
Bengals are off to their worst start.
It doesn't seem like that long ago.
I don't mind it.
Since 2019,
when they lost their first 11 games to go 2 and 14.
I don't mind it.
I'm not a big Bengals guy.
No?
No.
Cocky Joe Burrow.
He has kind of,
I guess you can get away with that when things are going well.
You're really good.
Look at this guy's swag.
Look at this guy's got it.
When you're getting shit pumped and you've got blonde dyed hair and
you're wearing a dress.
It's a little tougher to pull off.
They're in Carolina next week, who got right this week.
And Washington, Washington is in Arizona.
One last thing for me, Jack's got some dumb stuff, I believe, which is great.
Oh, you know what?
Actually, undefeated teams, right, in the NFL?
Yeah, and you got your baseball clip.
Yeah, undefeated teams across the NFL.
There's some, there's some Minnesota, who I think,
not this week but next
they're at the Jets
if Sam Darnold can
continue and go into
Jets Life Stadium or whatever
they're calling it. Seattle
with Gino, that'll be the thing for the Jets
E. Gino Smith and Sam Darnold are
perfect. Jacks,
Steelers, your bills
and of course my chiefs.
All undefeated.
What a great start to the year.
That's it?
And that's it.
that's why so many survivor pools have taken a shit i didn't make one week you didn't pay either
not good you have to get it's not how that works got to get through the first round no it's not
how it's not a breakfast ball no i didn't get in it oh you're too i would have been out
instantly too because we had Cincinnati that screwed there were 10 guys that came into
the survivor pool i set up five guys had the bengals in week one
then three guys had the Ravens who blew their lead to the Raiders in week two.
And then there was two guys left.
And we both lost the week three.
So we split the dough.
No way.
For losing in week three.
No.
What else do you do?
That's a dead heat.
Nobody wins.
Week three.
Week three, ten guys out.
Not ideal.
I'll tell you there's something that's planets or something.
I don't know.
Remember Hideki Matsui?
Yeah.
Former New York Yankee, Asian descent, back home, taking part in an exhibition game put on by another former Yankee, Ichiro Suzuki.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, he played for Seattle, too, I think.
Over 28,000 fans at the Tokyo Dome, they're just having a good time.
It's a little kind of a fundraiser.
Now, before we show the Hideki Matsui at the bat, he is 50.
years old he's 50 as we watch
Zuborne
Don't pull a hammie
Do I really have to run
He's like yeah you do get going
off the voice tape looking
he's showing them up
hurry up
celebrate
out
ow
It looks like he's, they're locking up on.
Sammies are locking up.
Now, you and I, more me than you.
We're heading towards that number.
Ugh.
What are the odds we'd get out of the infield?
Well, I can't swing or throw.
Let alone crank one out of the Tokyo Dome at 50.
Yeah, I have to bunt it out.
Squared up.
Did you ever do that?
If I had an aluminum bat, I'd be honest.
I'm not sure it was.
Because you see sometimes the hockey team
go and hit batting practice and that.
Did you ever do that?
No, I did it with Team Canada once in Montreal.
They ever held it.
Exhibition stadiums?
No, that's Toronto.
That's, what was it?
Big O.
The Big O.
Olympic Stadium.
So there you go.
Adaboy, Hedekhi.
P in this cup, you 50-year-old,
juice head.
So now dumb stuff.
little Jack
moving on
collaborating
for the dumb stuff
we haven't seen much
from Pinder
since he left
but we do get
some footage of him
at the airport
traveling with his family
his kids
his wife
look at this man
I got a drink
here
a tap at the airport
people
say I got his headphones
got six beers loaded
I don't want to hear anything
I got 15 minutes
go pee
charge your friggin tablets
leave me alone
good stuff moving on
you left Rob Ray in Buffalo
and he's getting pretty bored
so he's got his above ground pools
and he's taking it to the next level here
bringing in a homemade water slide
check this up
this is Buffalo
you're all right
go and
All right.
A little bit, some tight.
Yeah, he's getting tossed around there.
You're all right?
Go gnarly.
Somebody say gnarly.
Narlie, dude.
Yeah, it's a guy with eight beers at the airport.
Norley, dude.
Then finally, we'll finish it off with some gator content.
This is a good one.
This guy really likes gaiters.
Come on, get up here.
Look at this.
Come on.
Big enough
Dinner,
Big enough
Hey
Oh, look at them
Man
Oh my god
You big boy
Wow
Take it easy
Wow
Oh you big baby
Look at this
Man
We can miss the mark
Man
Oh my gosh
Good dogs
Oh
Spot
I'm out here looking for
A real dog
It's like his dog
So
How much time
Do you put into this
So who's crazy?
Us?
For fearing them or or or that?
Do you know that's the same one that you keep feeding?
There he is.
Who's a good boy?
He's a good boy.
And look at how close he is to the,
oh yeah, quick little snap there.
Oh!
Right to the nut.
Man, look on this to mark, man.
He likes that.
He does look happy, doesn't they?
Yeah.
Maybe it was the food, but.
Or maybe he's thinking like,
could I do this?
Next week.
Next week.
He's going to continue to lull you.
Yeah, you're right.
We're buddies.
You're good buddies.
Thank you for this piece of raw meat.
Tuesday.
You're dying on Tuesday.
Don't make plans for Tuesday night because you're going to be in my belly.
There you go.
That is the Pinder.

So football picks.
I don't remember my picks.
I know I, it's just,
I fear it's bad.
I think I got one.
one right at least. I went 0 for three last week. It's just dreadful. I'm telling it between
the betting and fantasy. It's been one of the worst starts that I could ever recall.
But you've got it in you. You just got a, I'm going to have to dig in here, I guess. But again,
you know what it is? I do it responsibly. There's nothing here that, uh, that I can't manage.

So every week we take three games.
we go across the NFL
sked.
We pick three that we feel are
going to come in.
Locks.
Points spreads or you get an over under
somewhere in there too,
right?
One week?
I was only five and four.
I did do an over under.
I really thought out.
Rhett,
you went two and one this week.
I went two and one.
Boom,
you went two and one
because you switched to the Ravens
last second.
And Pinder went three and O.
I don't.
Pinder with three and O?
Yep.
I get a need
confirm.
I was like,
I was way up.
I wasn't below 500.
You were three and three.
Then you went two for one.
You took my Steelers,
Dean's Bears.
I know I went two and one this week.
I thought I was way.
What's three plus two?
Trying to be right.
You know what?
As bad as it's been,
I'll take three and six.
Not far off to you.
I'm shocked.
I'm only five and four.
I was quite confident
that I would be leading the pack.
Well,
sometimes your bills let you down because you always go with the bills they got three of those five for you
you're really taking good care you that's true you're taking good other picks your bears are the shits no good
yeah no good so you got to stay away from the overrunners yeah no i'm going to yeah i'm going to
i mean a lot of times they'll pay the same like the the outcome is is the same but for the for the purposes
of this yeah shouldn't have done it yeah have we looked ahead of this week i think i'll take the bills
take the, I was going to say so, you're going to have to take the Steelers again.
Or have you, is that been your thing?
You've been taking them or you've been staying away from them?
No, I've been avoiding them completely.
All right.
That's baseball.
There, no, hang on.
I don't see, I'm going to my bet three.
Five after.
Thursday nighter, Cowboys in New York to play the Giants.
Cowboys, wow.
Cowboys five and a half point favorites on the road.
Bit of a must, isn't it?
It's, uh, it's not been good.
The highest paid QB.
Yeah, number one,
highest salary in QB and their defense is just hemorrhaging points.
The Bengals need to win.
They're 03, although maybe too late.
They're four and a half point favorites against Carolina on Thursday night.
This is the Sunday.
Cowboys Giants Thursday.
Broncos and Jets.
Broncos with a big win.
They're getting seven on the road in Broncos.
The Meadowlands.
Jacksonville is no good.
They're in Houston to play the Texans who lost.
The Rams.
You talk about good coaching.
You lose Cooper Cup.
You lose Pook and Akua.
Their offensive line is beat up.
Win.
They've got the Bears.
Bears are three-point favorites at home.
Packers, Vikings.
That's a legendary battle.
That is a big game.
Packers at home, minus two and a half.
The Saints came back down to Earth.
They're in Atlanta.
Balkans.
Alpsons are all right?
One and a half.
Point favorites. Eagles and bucks.
Fucking ears.
Again, that was just lost to.
Yeah. Denver.
At home.
At home.
They're at home again to Philly.
Two and a half point favorite, the road Eagles.
Your Steelers are at the Colts.
Two point favorites on the wrong.
It might be hard for you to lay off with that one, Jack.
Or are you superstitious?
Yeah, I think I've got to lay off.
Yeah.
can't can't do it can't change anything up now patriots at nineers now is is he's
done for the year what's happening did i really went he's gone somewhere to look for like nerve
damage or something he called rogers and he's what the h didn't you take him in yeah first
overall yeah how don't you though like i don't understand how there was really no talk of it
it's not more than just fantasy,
but for,
for betting or whatever,
there was no inclination.
This guy's going to miss.
This guy can miss the first month of the season.
There was zero talk of that.
The commanders who are suddenly
one of the best teams in the world
there in Arizona.
Three and a half point favorites are Kyler and the cards.
Browns at Raiders,
Raiders minus one.
Chiefs,
Chargers.
Herbert is not going to play,
I don't think.
He is.
So what are they got,
Easton Stick?
and Tim Boyle.
Taylor Heineke. Right.
Right. Taylor Heineke.
And I think they're right tackle. Joe Alt is out.
Joey Bose has hurt.
Chiefs minus eight on the road.
Chiefs have not looked terrific, but they find a way as they do.
They seem to win.
And then Sunday night.
Bills at Ravens.
Ravens love getting a lead and then nearly or totally shitting themselves,
as they nearly did again.
It should be a good game.
Minus two and a half favorites are the Ravens.
You're getting points.
with your bills retro
it's a lock
getting points
a lock
uh
titans at dolphins
dolphins are plus one at home
without yeah
because there is timboil
they got no quarterback
and the Seahawks
lions
I don't know why they're playing two
on Monday nights
do we know why that is
no I asked that yesterday
to one of my buddies
I don't know
back to back weeks
your buddy didn't know
no he didn't know
would you usually know
scheduling
he's a pretty smart guy
yeah
Like math?
He just didn't.
He just knows the NFL.
Those are the type of people you run with those, smarts.
Clearly.
Sharp's.
Seahawks at Lions.
The Lions are minus 4 at home.
That's the look ahead for week four.

get you some Josh Allen.
Josh Allen.
Did you,
did you say what it was?
Did you go in there?
I only knew what it was when I bet it.
I wonder if it's changed.
Let's take it look.
Got it there?
I was 800.
Do, do, do, do,
futures.
Super Bowl,
that's not right.
You can spend a lot of time doing this.
Yes, you can.
Yeah, you can spend a lot of time doing this.
Josh Allen plus 225.
800.
That's really.
Patrick Mahomes to 75 and then a big jump.
CJ Stroud plus 1,200.
He's not doing it.
I just thought about an injury for Josh.
I did not come on.
Did you?
Jared Goff and Kyler Murray have worse odds than Sam Darnold.
Sam Darnold plus 2,500.
Sam just needed the right.
He did.
Right coach, right scenario.
Maybe helps having Justin Jefferson.
Oh.
Having the best wide receiver in the world.
it's always open, it seems.
So if I just throw it out here,
he'll get it?
Yeah.
Oh, I like those guys.
We mentioned Vina Nova, our buddy, Justin,
big move coming up.
November 1st, Vina Nova, you've heard us talk about it.
It's lab-grown diamonds, not the mine diamonds.
These are built in a lab.
They are pristine.
Many times, they're better quality
than what you're going to find from a mine diamond.
You get what you want.
Design your own piece of jewelry.
what's on the floor. And for right now, because they're moving to market mall, November 1st,
everything at their current store is on sale. 20 to 70% off, everything in store,
downtown showroom, second level, Stephen Avenue place. And the thing with Labgrown,
is there already more affordable than mine diamonds, which seems that should be the other way.
You're digging one out of the frigging ground, and it's maybe not as good as the lab grown.
This is what you want. Easier access for the customers,
quite likely with market mall better hours but there it is the sale get on it this is
september after september october and then christmas that's right right after october
right after october around the right into christmas be smart three months to christmas tomorrow
there it is how about it how about it yeah vena nova venanova venanova dot com
is the website. Better yet, go to the Stephen Avenue Place location and get in on some of those
great savings. And congrats to Justin. Absolutely. Give him a high five. Yeah. Give him a high five.
Love so far. Not too hard though. He's a very good shape. Please, slight. Is he slight or
lighter than us? Slighter than us. Yeah, probably he's made the most to be. Probably the human
anatomy as it's meant to be. You know, he's bang on. Yeah. So there's shoulders.
waist, everything, you tuck in your shirt and it just kind of does one of these.
It's not, yeah.
When you buy pants from the store, they're the right length to fit your waist.
Buddy of mine, he's like, you know what the worst thing is, man?
You just can't buy pants.
What are you talking about?
You can't buy pants.
You can't buy pants.
How do you buy pants?
I don't know.
You go to the store and buy pants.
No, but like to fit your, like, you got to get them hemmed all the time.
He's like a buddy.
Look at him.
Look at him.
God, he's so lucky.
He probably never had the hem pants in his life.
Must be nice, eh?
You just go buy pants and they just fit.
You just put it on.
Right off the shelf.
They just fit.
They're the right.
They just sit nice on top of your shoes like that.
Fuck,
that'd be great.
I wish I could buy pants.
Yeah,
I never thought of it.
But yeah,
I guess it would be nice to be able to.
I like some of the new pants.
Nice and stretchy.
I know.
Why is it taken so long?
Good.
Great.
I've cleaned out the closet the other day.
and there were some old pants that didn't have the stretch.
Out, yep, I love it.
We have tech AI and stretchy jeans.
What is this?
Danum.
Out.
That's the first thing I do when you're buying pants, pick them up.
It's like, oh, what's the size?
No.
Is there any elasticity in this?
Okay, now what's the size?
Okay, let's see.
Now, do we like them?
Okay.
No stretchy, no bi.
No.
Get out.
What about you, Jack?
Do you need to hem?
He wears sweats.
No, I don't.
What are you wearing?
Do you sweat?
These are lulus.
Lulus are sweats to me.
So I don't care what anyone says.
Everyone brags about the lulu pants.
Everyone brags about the lulu pants.
I don't know where to pair.
Now, I'm sure they're great.
But to me, that...
I like that if, they'll have the stretchy elastic ways.
But if you're not really paying close attention,
it's like, oh, that's a nice gray slack that you're wearing.
It's like, ah, it's kind of like sweats.
cozy. Maybe I got to get in on some of these. I think you should give it a try.
All right. I'm in. You sold me, Jack. Great job. Your salesman. You would love Lulu.
I think you would. Professional. They're comfy. My mom's name is Lulu. That's cool.
Is she the owner of Lulu Lemon? She's a great design. And your dad's name's Lemon. I don't know how I didn't connect it until now.
Who knew? Who knew?
Well, tomorrow is a Flames game day. What about a cooking show to me?
tomorrow.
Like here?
No,
I'm from Chateau Boom.
How are we going to cook here?
Are we allowed to?
Like if we brought in pots and pans and
Well, we don't have a stove.
I could get one of those camping stuff.
A range.
You know what we're doing though?
This is kind of an off show conversation that we can have here.
Because you are now back here,
which as we established yesterday has really kind of ruined things for a lot of us.
Yes.
It was just so much easier.
I could just be at home and my lulus and do the show,
but now I'm expected to come in here and the whole thing.
But anyway, I don't know how that all started.
The thought is they want us to sit together.
Me, you, Pinder, together.
Because how it's been we set up in here with two, these two tables and that,
and then somebody else sits over there, and it's not ideal.
It's not.
changing the studio set set up here shortly to accommodate three people at once unless you want to sit here three
you could put one cheek on my right thigh and then sit on pinder's thigh like a ventriloquist dummy i'll
stick my hand up i always like to doing it for my truck like that was always yeah it was always good
when some some got you had road pops on the way to add a rondack or some yeah friggin plays
Uh, so the thought is maybe over there.
Behind.
See, we move the table over there.
Is that back on the table?
It is.
The table's on the table.
Tables on.
Wow.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What do you think?
I don't give a shit.
I know you don't.
Yeah.
Really don't.
There are some that really do, though.
Oh, yes.
Mountains are the moleles?
Uh, it's just, I think they realize that if, if anything's going to get done,
leaving it up to me and you.
Oh, I don't answer.
Mandatory meeting.
Oh, I get that tonight.
Yeah, I get to go tonight to my mandatory workshop.
Jesus Christ.
You want to go, Jack?
You want to hang out tonight?
Where is this mandatory workshop?
I don't know.
It's somewhere in our neck of the woods, at least.
I don't know what it is or what it's pertaining to.
But I have to go if my kid wants to play sports.
Yeah.
Mandatory.
Here's a question.
If you don't have the check mark,
then your daughter will be ineligible to play.
She's 13.
She just wants to play ring up.
We've signed up.
We've paid.
Oh, paid in full, yeah.
Gone through all of the rigamarole.
Here's a question.
I have the respect and sport thing.
Yep.
Okay, I'll find a good, get her done.
I'll come on this certificate.
It doesn't have the expiry date.
Has your number?
Yeah, yeah.
No expiry day.
Interesting.
Because they do expire.
They sure.
Every three years, I think.
Every three years you've got to go through and do it again.
I feel like it should be right there.
Probably should.
Yeah, probably should be there.
So whoever's listening and in charge of that, I'm an idea.
You are.
Yeah.
What made you think of doing a cooking show?
Just because I hated traffic.
Yeah, it's the ships.
It's the, like, I'm grumpy today, so it wasn't good to begin with.
And then there was a little bit of traffic.
I think at 930 and I'm like yeah well I felt cheap because I was late again here I'm
I'm ready to apologize I walk in all guys I'm sorry sorry for being late and I walk it
it's just jack sitting there it's like okay guess I'm not the bad guy but yeah this is no
good no cost of fuels sorbent oh can't afford to drive down here parking pass oh my
god I took a pay cut because you moved back the Calgary it's cost to be $400 a month
for you to live here I hope you really
that.
God damn it.
Really worth it.
If I would have known.
Maybe we need a mandatory meeting.
Yeah.
Pike is a pike bomb.
Boom has to do a workshop.
Sign something promising to not throw any chairs.
I'm actually,
I think I'm a pretty calm.
Did you throw chairs?
No,
no,
no, no.
Never thrown a chair.
It seems very inside.
I saw a Western Hockey League
general manager throw a chair.
I've seen many a chair toss.
Yeah, there's a good chair toss.
Wasn't it?
Remember,
he tossed a chair did some drywall damage i forget at what uh at what rink it was on the road again
like so did you just give him your credit card for that or how does how does that work i take that gets
taken care of yeah it gets to get taken care um now well you know we can do some comments some
show comments to uh to wrap it up here uh there's brad i said this the other day there's zero
chance ret makes the season five days a week well that's not a lot of confidence brad that's not what we're
looking for that's not the kind of faith and uh i might not drive downtown five days a week
yeah i am this is the misconception of it all i miss the least i might not be good or organized
or prepared but you're there i'm there you're there i'll dig in with what i got yeah i don't go
on two week halls over to australia at the start of the hockey season at the start of the season when you've just
That three months off.
All summer off.
Yeah.
I don't go to Mexico in the summer and I don't go to Hawaii in December.
Yeah, you don't do that.
I'm here.
Like, yes, it's from my truck and I'm driving.
But so what?
No, I haven't watched the game.
And no, I have no notes.
I don't know what happened.
But I'm here.
I'm here.
Instincts.
Yeah.
But that's part of it.
Just got to be there.
It's about showing up.
Yeah, five days a week seems like a lot for everybody.
I feel like there's too many days.
I've argued this for years.
I'm going to say where we're at.
I'm stunned it hasn't caught on.
Companies need to go do more.
Take the extra day off.
You don't drag this shit out.
Get your stuff done.
Friday.
Mm-hmm.
We're Monday.
We could probably do.
We could probably work that.
I feel like we could.
Yeah, we probably could.
We'll talk to our bonn.
We should probably do Wednesday.
Wednesday are.
Friday's the buildup to the week.
and Monday's the post weekend.
So you've got lots of things to talk about.
Wednesday's quiet.
It's not ideal for vacation, but it's sure nice.
No, you never work more than two days in a row,
but you don't get more than two days in a row off.
Kind of like having that three-day or...
I know what you mean.
Well, let's talk about it.
All right.
This one from earlier, David, wait,
so both the hosts of the Flames podcast didn't watch the Flames games last night.
Not true, David.
You saw we had the highlights.
I watched the game.
I just couldn't see the game.
Like how many games at once do I need to watch David to satisfy you?
David the bills were playing.
David David.
Buffalo Bills.
Another pike bomb.
You ready for it?
We got cuts.
Guy times.
Jacob Bataglia, Axel Hurtig,
Eric James and Hunter Lang,
Henry Muse, Luke Misa, Etienne Moran, and Luke McNamara.
Not real, nothing super surprise.
there younger guys more than from what second rounder from a couple years ago i liked henry
muse and luke misa both guys that were drafted this year showed up in penticton i was impressed
david i watched those games did you watch those games how about you david flames fan how was pender on
that um it was good because he had he was always wanting to go and drink beer with his buddies so i
didn't have to put up of them friends around the world yeah everywhere i guess
yeah, I guess so.
Or as annoying as he is,
a lot of acquaintance.
Yeah, some, and these guys
that they seem to genuinely enjoy his company.
Yeah, they were on the same
ultimate team,
Ultimate Frisbee.
They played Ultimate Frisbee, and they'd go into Colonna and play,
and it was great fun, and they had so much fun,
and then they'd have beers,
and this buddy owns this,
and this buddy has this brewery,
and this buddy has this.
I don't get it, but some people seem to like them.
Good for them.
But my stipulation continues.
If I'm not being paid, we're not hanging out.
It's not happening out.
Not hanging out.
There's Keith.
As anyone, Saskatoon alumni, mentioned Rett's great t-shirt.
I was a raider from 80 to 88.
Whoa!
Burgundy and yellow, great combo.
It is a great combo.
It's one of my favorites.
I've said, because I remember,
because Flynn Flan is the maroon and white and for a while they put the yellow in there
uh what Minnesota University of Minnesota yeah they've got the I love that color
combo and no one you you don't see a whole lot of it I guess it's kind of like the
commanders d've kind of adopted it raiders go raiders zone d back in the day I don't
know that's own d I'm sure it's changed zone d he was an eight year 80 to 88
Well, yeah, it's hockey, so five to 13, 88.
I'd have been done around 88.
890, yeah, because you know high school's a little later, maybe.
A couple years later.
You probably know that guy.
He probably played up.
Would you have been teammates?
He probably wasn't good enough to play at your level.
Probably not.
What about you, Jack?
Did you play?
What association, where were you when you were growing up playing?
I was Mindipur.
really yeah
rich kids
is that rich kids
kids oh big
it's not rich kids
kids
rich kids
so what was the
what was the uh of
what's the story
that you will tell people man
as good as it got
that was the best our team
we had that team that year that weekend
that tournament what was it
the one story
oh man
I don't even know
because I saw you in
uh jams
Asper.
Yeah.
And you were inspiring.
I was inspiring.
And perspiring.
The one hockey member I have that Tambridge school I went to where Rhett sent his kids,
highly academic school.
We went to Europe.
What?
To Prague.
We went to,
yeah,
I'm not helping my case.
No,
you're not.
Yeah.
But that was fun.
Yeah,
no shit.
Is that right,
eh?
Enjoyed the trip to Prague,
did you?
That was fun.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
We got beat up by a bunch of kids from Prague, yeah.
Wow.
I had no idea.
A bunch of soccer game toured.
Look at churches.
I'm going to have to go through the yearbooks at that school.
Find old Jackie boy.
Yeah.
Old Jackie boy.
I didn't say I didn't know that.
Pinders.
Annoyingly good at hockey.
It would upset you.
No, he wouldn't.
I'd drill him.
He would.
I know how to deal with.
people like Pinder on the ice.
Like he's good until you hit him and then it's
because he is a big Harvey tryhard.
He's sipping around.
Like what did you,
when you saw him for the first time in Jasper,
what were you?
Exactly what I expected.
110.
Yeah.
Just all out all the time.
I would give him the old between the legs.
What do they call?
The can opener.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was, uh, tip his head right into the net.
I think Rose Hill was close.
It was the first.
I think if it had been later on and Rosie had kind of been, I'm tired.
I don't want to be here.
Yeah.
Pissed off.
It's early.
If it was, he was there, but it was the first game was the first night.
Oh, everybody having fun.
We'll have some drinks or whatever.
But even by the end of that one, Rose, Rose Hill was like, he's kind of a, the,
the, the, the, the on off switch is never off.
It's just all full tilt all the time.
Yeah.
not surprising.
That'll probably be good for the show today.
How do you think we did?
Would we do good work today, Jack?
Yeah, really good.
Yeah, really good.
Thanks, Jack.
Thanks.
Now, I don't know.
I haven't talked to our Wednesday get.
Do we start getting guests?
Is it too soon for guests?
We should reach out to them.
I don't know.
It's too soon.
Is it?
I mean, we could reach out and say,
Are you bored?
Yeah.
Because we have fun just chatting with you.
Yeah, just shooting the old.
If we've got things to do and you don't want it, then whatever.
Basically, you don't really want to pay you for.
We don't pay that guest enough.
Don't say that.
He does very well.
Our guests do very well.
Some do more, some do less.
In fairness, I don't think.
Off air comers.
But I don't, with Jamie, I don't think it's like, no, Jamie, don't go.
Please stay.
He's very engaging.
Oh, he sure is.
He loves to tell stories.
We'll reach out.
You know what?
I was actually thinking about him yesterday because I'm like, again,
it ignores me, is the word I was looking for.
I want to get him in here.
Why can't Jerome come in here and talk to us for two hours?
There's no reason.
I reached out to him.
He was worried about it because he's like,
I don't want to spill the beans.
And I'm like, we're not going to ask you about the flames.
We don't need to know.
Going on down it's saddled away.
About Zane Perrex.
edge work.
Yeah.
Like, just come in and shoot the ship.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Why the hell did you go to Colorado?
I wonder, though, because over the years, if you go back to our radio days, there were times when maybe you would take some run it guys.
So what?
I just wonder if there's a bit of the, has the trust tree been broken?
No.
That's team of you saw McDavid.
Get mad.
That's, yeah.
It's part of it.
Yeah.
It would, because we've talked.
Conroy would come in.
He's happy to come in.
So,
what if you get that buffer?
Maybe you have a nice buffer.
So Jerome come in,
and not that we don't want Conroy,
but if he hogs everything.
If Conroy gets us again there.
Just their attention.
Gosh, if you had noodles and Craig
and Jerome.
But then Jerome wouldn't say anything
because those other two wouldn't stop talking.
How was Jerome?
I don't know.
He didn't say anything.
He sat there,
he had coffee,
had a good time, I think,
but he didn't say mine.
Yeah.
We'll get him.
We'll get him.
I just can't believe he doesn't trust you.
Hey,
I've had lots of conversations lately too.
Can't get him in.
I don't know if you've noticed Craig.
I wonder if he's here.
I think he's with the team, yeah?
He's.
He comes and goes as a blizzard.
Anyway, what about Craig?
He was always kind of spilly pants back when he first started with the team.
He'd come in and he'd sit down and we weren't even trying to squeeze anything out of him,
be like, oh, well, that's, there's a bit of a scope.
We never asked.
You said it.
It doesn't ask.
But now he's a little bit more strategic.
It's, I didn't, uh, wasn't all that forthcoming.
And you're not looking to get him in trouble.
Don't want to say something that, uh, that he might regret.
So does, is Jerome at least responding to your texts now or?
Yeah, we actually have great conversations.
There's always lots and chatter about the boys, the kids.
Sure.
Kids hockey.
Yeah.
How's the Utah kid?
Injured, I thought.
Oh, no.
Now that's Teesge.
I saw Joe.
Edmonton.
With the Edmonton, Royal Kings.
I think he had a goal.
They were in Medicine Hat.
Yeah, had a goal or a couple points or whatever it was on opening weekend.
So I'm sure he's probably going to be an okay hockey player.
Lucky him.
Maybe draft that guy.
Is there anything new with that's?
Because you were a little outspoken about that one when the Calgary Hitman drafted a player.
I think you dropped the ball.
But I don't know.
Maybe.
Maybe the boss.
Maybe Drome.
Maybe.
Kibosh on it.
Well, we'll reach out to our friends.
See if he's got anything going on.
See if he wants to do a freebie tomorrow.
Where do I send the invoice?
Oh, I don't know.
Hey, hey, hey.
But I think, will that do it, Jack?
You think that?
That will do it.
I need to get the buttons on here.
We can do it.
We can do it.
Ideally, I'd like to have a little.
He wants it.
He doesn't like to give up control.
Well, we can figure that out, too.
It is a bureaucracy.
see haven't heard that for a while that'll do it see you buddies
