Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, everyone. Hot mics, Jack. Let us know that we're starting. We're talking. We're talking about. Hot mics. Well, your mic was down for the show, but it was up in your ears. Yeah, that might be what it was.
Starting point is 00:00:10 That's what it is. Maybe muted for the thing. Yes. Boy, we've got to talk about your ears, too. We've got my ear holes. Look at your ear holes. Bar and Burrne burner. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:00:24 Oh, this will make Dean mad when I go side to side of the side of it. I know you're going to, then we can't hear you. Talk to them. How's the level? It's a little hot, is it? He likes his very soft. I like it soft. Soft.
Starting point is 00:00:38 He likes his headphone levels like his butter. Oh, yeah. It's hard to find too. That's what I'm sad to find. Hey, welcome to the show. This is a presentation of Bet365, the world's largest sports betting platform. Download the app. Love it.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Got a workout the last few days. I'll tell you that. It's been hectic. If you haven't signed up, already then when you do use the promo code nation whatever the moment it's never ordinary at bet 365 and of course throughout the course of the show you come through on the youtube chat with a little bit of a cash donation we'll make sure that it goes directly to the youth centers of gagory and then we'll show your comment on the show probably near the end well i mean it's
Starting point is 00:01:22 topical earlier you forget then definitely jack um well here's kind of how it's worth less you forget dean Unless I forget. Then definitely. Jack. Well, here we are. It's the 11th of February. The 11th day of the of the solstice. Solstice.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Here in the year of our Lord, 20th of 25. Yes. The year of the snake, Dean. Great news in the Pender report. Yes. That's true. It is. It is.
Starting point is 00:01:48 Yeah. Yeah. It felt like last year for us was the year of the snake. There was heavy snake. I told the Aussie she corrected me very quickly yeah it's right no no it's not how long is she is she still her uh Aussie nan is here how does Aussie nan is here how does Aussie nan handle the trap 14 hours 16 hours the long that's hours to get here it's a lot oh she gets all banged up at the airport lounge and then pops one of those sleeping pills oh crocky
Starting point is 00:02:17 how we already here all right kubba got to wake her got to wake her up yeah she's great excuse me ma'am trying to sleep oh we're here 14 hours just like that she's usually got a uh pino grigio going by about noon and she puts stuff to bed at seven delicious rolls out of the rack at 8 a.m self-life love it love it look at you you got your yetty going you've got a haircut you have your new head uh headphones i'm busy in your monitor dean i know i was going to say 25's my year you're the snake you're the snake slither and Yeah, the year of the snake. I mean, why?
Starting point is 00:02:56 Let's not, don't bury the lead. You have your new in-ear monitors. Is this the lead? That's all there is today. Well, I mean, we did kind of show them off and then didn't talk about them. You have in your ear holes, your brand new in-ear monitors that have been provided by the good folks at the hearing loss clinic. Old Rhodes-Zee! Roadsie!
Starting point is 00:03:18 I think they're actually annoyed with me because they... Oh, people annoyed with you? They molded them. And then they reached out. And you're part of the list, too, I guess. Yeah. I had about six contacts that reached out and said, they're here. You coming to get these things?
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah. They're here for pickup. Yeah. Would you please? Well, here's the thing. Are you using this or not? Well, that's what is that? Is that your, he's got a daytimeer.
Starting point is 00:03:46 It's your year of the snake. He's going to be so organized. Look at this. Come on. Yeah. I just can't show him, yeah. Careful, don't camera. Look this one.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Sunday the 12th. Cook. Cook. Matt? Cook. Cook. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Yeah, because that's where we are. And where's what happened for this? Oh. I know. Weeks. Yeah. Oh, we're wide open. A lot of availability.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Do you have pizza in there for today or anything? Yeah. Pizza. Wings. I start as good as you used. Oh, no. A lot of availability. There's good.
Starting point is 00:04:25 You know what? That's the way you want it. Yes. You want to be able to have some flexibility in your life? 100%. He's limber. Don't want to be bogged down. But no,
Starting point is 00:04:31 the hearing loss clinic. We talk about hearing aids and all that sort of thing. Then there's, well, there's hearing protection. Yep. And then there's just thing. If you spend,
Starting point is 00:04:38 you're a rock and roll guy. Well, that's part of my year 2025. You're a rocker and a roller. But you do have a job where you wear headphones on a daily basis. And you are, you're the white snake. Conscious of the volume level and that.
Starting point is 00:04:52 And they're so good. the jack could turn them down even more but yes right yeah and i can't hear any outside noise so all that pounding and hammering they were doing on the street stop the hammering stop the hammering i wouldn't even notice if i'd have had these yeah i could have saved that whole guy's day so these are like professional they are those are kendrick lamar was probably i could i could tell you this with full uh confidence it's way more than we need really yeah they're uh they're they're they're treating you yeah This is very nice. Rhodesy Street.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Yeah. This is incredibly kind of everybody at the Harry Gloss Clinic to take care of this. You're almost sheepish about it. Yeah, he is. Yeah, a little bit. A little bit. Because you actually understand. The value of them.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Oh, yeah. It's, um, no, Travis and Sabrina. Then Travis is a great guy. We should get to those in your monitors. We're on YouTube. We talk about poop and snakes. I'm not sure. that we need.
Starting point is 00:05:53 And poop snakes and snake puties. Hey, this is, this is great because people will be able to see them and you guys will be able to use them, experience them, tell other people, much like I did with the hearing aids. I'm getting mine planning going by today.
Starting point is 00:06:06 I'm excited. I was going to grab them for you, but they said, it'd be great if Dean could pop in because we'd love to get a picture of them. People love me. Yep. They love how many weeks they've been holding out of these.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Please, again, Mr. Mulberg, if you could swing by, that'd be wonderful. He was fighting to stay home again. He was. I know. I have a window, guys, of kind of like minus five to plus five. If it's on either side, I tend to stay home. That's a tight little window. It's too hot today.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Ooh, very cold today. It's in that, you know, minus. But again, like, I, if you were, let's say, a postal worker, that would make sense to me. You're in climate control environments your entire day. You might have to walk like 15 steps outside each side of this trip. That's what's scaring you off. Well, Mardaloupes, I mean, it's not great parking. They really didn't improve the parking. They've got three or four spots across the street where they've said, no parking. Don't need it there. But there's no reason that I can deduct for. Anyway. You just pop it right up on the camera.
Starting point is 00:07:08 The point being five hearing loss location, clinic locations in Calgary. The new Chinook. Is that where you went to the new Chinook? It's so nice there. Kitty Corner. Kitty Corner. Jack, do you know what Kitty Corner means? No.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Okay. Kitty Corner to Chinook Center. Is it still called? I think so. Yeah. And five locations in British Columbia. Oh, would Jack be doing if we didn't save him by getting jobs?
Starting point is 00:07:37 He doesn't even go to kitty corners? Good. Yeah, Lord. I know what it is. I don't know why it's called that. I don't either. What is it? It's like the opposite side of an intersection.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Diagonally. Diagonally across. It's not across the street. It's a kitty corner. So. do, do. Trying to think what would. If you were on the Northwest.
Starting point is 00:08:01 No, but I'm thinking, give him some specifics. Because he's not going to know what North is or Northwest. Do you know what North is, Jack? Have you heard of North? So like the, you know where the Trop is? So Kitty Corner to the, actually, I don't know what's Kitty Corp. It's a horrible example. Anyway, thank you, Travis and Sabrina.
Starting point is 00:08:19 I'm excited to get mine. Pinder, you never even got fitted for yours. So never got invited by you turds. You were invited. Don't lie. We were looking for a date that worked for all over all of us. And the two of you found a date that worked for you and the way we went. I make everything work.
Starting point is 00:08:32 That's the difference. I know. You're a team player, Brett. Right there. Right there. You're the snake. Gotta have some space availability to get these things done and fill that up. How's your phone?
Starting point is 00:08:44 How would I do? Oh, good. Another crack on that? I got two. Hearinglost.ca is the website. Thank you. In addition to your, to your, in-your monitors. Also, just get a hearing assessment.
Starting point is 00:08:54 done. It's time. Even more important. Make yourself better in 2025. Yeah. It's going to be a great year for us. For all of us. All of snakes. Well, if everyone's doing it, I don't want to.
Starting point is 00:09:04 You've already done it. You're good. Oh, you're ahead. You're a, no, I mean, having a great ear. How do I want to stand out. You want to do the bleeding goat? I want to stand out.
Starting point is 00:09:13 I don't want to just be part of the crowd. Already people have been in the chats. Hey, looking good. Look at Rat, looking good. Thank you. People are noticing Army Green on and new earplugs. The intense efforts that you're putting. in what we're going to talk about oh your phone what's up yeah what's that's two in the last
Starting point is 00:09:30 eight days it seems like a high number i my phone last week all of a sudden this is not working correctly it's not connecting to the bluetooth and i can't hear and it's dropping go in get a checked out seems to be working fine everything's good right ron well it's not then i'm like wow i could paid have this POS fixed. I've got a phone. This is one of those, well, you guys are too stupid to even know about it. But out there in the wide, wide world of AI and intelligence and technology is this thing called information.
Starting point is 00:10:08 Okay. And Jack, have you heard of information? Have you heard of this, Jack? And this information stuff, they track you and take your information and personal information. Not on this bad. No way. Not on this one. They'll never find you.
Starting point is 00:10:24 I can scroll through whatever I'm. Incognito. Yeah, that's you. Well done. But then it cracked and broke. And then you dropped it and cracked it. Yeah. Did it have the case on it when you dropped it?
Starting point is 00:10:41 Yeah. You should, I mean. You know what's funny? We got to talk someone at McLeodlaw. These case companies are just full of it. You know what's funny? How many times is your phone broken with a case on? I put my phone on the island.
Starting point is 00:10:52 the house. Don't recall seeing the crack or the smash. A kid walks by. Hey, dad. What's your phone? That happened to me once too, actually. Your phone is on the floor. Did you not see it here on the floor where I saw it?
Starting point is 00:11:07 It wasn't even on the floor. How'd you do that? How'd you break your screen, dad? What'd you do? What'd you do, Richard? I love that one. I throw it on the shelf. What did you do?
Starting point is 00:11:19 He doesn't watch that move. Was that the car door? Yes. Yeah. Let's be it about the gas. What you do? What you do, Richard? So good.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Jack, do you know what we're talking about? It's his homework. He's got to see. Yeah, I do. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:11:33 There we go. There we go. There we go. I think he's just skipping us. How of the show today, Dean? Thanks. Yeah. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:11:40 feels good. A lot. We're all here. A lot. Jack, how are you feeling? Because you've been, um,
Starting point is 00:11:46 yeah, I've been down in the dumps. I'm feeling good. So I still. Yeah, it kind of sound like shit still. but yeah a little bit of cough sniffles i do feel no a little bit just a little bit you're here telling me that now you realize this is ret's nightmare this is just it's disgusting to me i feel
Starting point is 00:12:09 great i'm just saying it i just maybe need to have some more water i'll keep drinking i'll have some my coffee in that well thanks for ruining my february but it's um ruin the whole month you're you're 2025 you're doing so well you're wipe out all of the month You're cooked. Yeah. Just a daytimeer. Clear the month. No one made you come in today.
Starting point is 00:12:34 I was going. I was going out. He was leaving the house. I was leaving the house today. Today I was leaving. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:42 You put pants on the whole thing, eh? I did. Yeah, I did. Usually it's a pant free zone this show. Just commando style. Free boss today. Not today. Not today.
Starting point is 00:12:55 So tomorrow, the Four Nations, whatever it is, gets going. Yep. And we were talking before, when the mic's wrong, but they weren't on, we were talking about the intense. The pre-show. Coverage. Coverage that is happening. We've got a lot of people, you know what they're doing? They're sitting down and talking about it.
Starting point is 00:13:14 We saw it because wasn't Elliot sitting down with Kevin B.XA? Yes, and Army. Colby Armstrong. They were sitting down to talk about it. A bunch of traders. Traders. Oh, yeah. EXA?
Starting point is 00:13:27 There's some real, uh, how is he a trainer? Oh, because he's supposed to suck and be. Now we like it. Oh, I see. Yeah, yeah. Don't make me go liking you now. Seriously. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:36 It's too late. You already like, yeah. What are some of the stories that are, that are, oh, do you want to walk us through some of the hot topics? Here's hot, hot topics. I saw one. Will Canada unleash their nuclear option? Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Oh my goodness. I don't even think it was a question. And I was like, whoa. I didn't like was Trump threatening what are we doing here no no this is the hockey thing oh and apparently the nuclear option is nothing to do with war but putting mckinon and mccasus on the same line at the same time really it's not a question it's a team Canada will exercise nuclear option it's not if it's when yeah it's not a prediction it's a spoiler I'm telling you ready for it's coming yeah it's coming Trump
Starting point is 00:14:24 Suck it. I saw there was a lot of disappointment, even haranguing, hand-wringing. I like that word. Yeah. That here was Canada, out of all these countries, all of them that are going to this tournament.
Starting point is 00:14:37 All the five or wherever they are. Out of all of them, the country that had the biggest seeming issue with its goaltending was Canada. And then what did they do? They left Logan Thompson off the list, and he might be performing as well as anybody that could have gone to the tournament.
Starting point is 00:14:55 So you had problems in net, and then you had a guy and you didn't take him, what the age? But the H is right. And they got to Kimi and Matambo on the team. I don't know why. Because he's from Montreal.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Are the boards different there? They're playing in Montreal. He knows the ring. He knows where the hot dogs are. What are you going to do? You'd like a Logan Thompson right now. You would. Yeah, that's a issue.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Why fans, that's us, fans should expect competitiveness, urgency from the players at four nation. Urgency. Urgent. So don't think you're just going to flip on a Monday night. Whole hum,
Starting point is 00:15:36 hallmark special. This isn't just like the blues and the, freaking going for it. The hurricanes on a Wednesday. This is give me some. Yeah. Now, I think the hockey will be good,
Starting point is 00:15:46 but I do think our brethren. We're not done covering topics. I also struggling. John Cooper. Cooper. Cooper loop. He's not ready. to disclose who his goaltender is going to be for game one.
Starting point is 00:15:58 He's not ready to do it. He's not in the giving away information business, just like Rhett with his secret phone. He's a stickler. He's like, I don't want that info out there. I don't want you seen my browser history or my starting goalie. Nope. I don't see you.
Starting point is 00:16:12 I hope you don't see me pulling my goalie. I hope we're winning. Oh. My starting goal, the browser. No info for you. I'm sure the Americans have some real, you know, the things that they're, lots of their goals.
Starting point is 00:16:27 going to go through. Well, they're not buying into the fact that they're favored to win. Depends where you look. I keep seeing that they're favored. And then I keep going to at 365, which is the world's largest, I believe. It's the largest, yeah. And best. And I'm like, why is Canada got smaller odds if the Americans are favored to win? I'm confused by that. Well, because it's America. America. America. And you can't shut the Swedes up. Talking about how great they are. Yeah, Linholm will shut up. It's all we He's all. He loves the Swedes.
Starting point is 00:16:59 Weird seeing Rasmus in yellow and blue. Saw him on the ice with the, uh, dead. The Swedish gear on. So that's odd. Yeah. So when he gets traded to the Saskatoon blades.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Nashville, you know. Blades would be good for that. He'd be a good blade. Overager. Blades are paddling. Yeah. That clitke boy got hit from behind.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Oh no. Bang. Don like that. Did Wade look dirty? Loat top. Prick. Yeah. And what's the story?
Starting point is 00:17:27 with the finlandians they have a lot of injured defense vindyne so many that they announced a guy to the team that nobody's heard of and has played less than 25 games in the n h yeah i saw a name and i don't know who that is he's the brennan evans of the four nations that's right red shout out brennish don't need to see your birth certificate where's your passport son you need to know where you're from if you haven't oh they're not part of the you are they the Finns? Yeah. I wonder.
Starting point is 00:17:59 It's a good question. No, they don't want the scandinian countries in there. I wonder how the guys that... I'm a... I'm a check. Yep. I don't get to be a part... Yeah, they're both...
Starting point is 00:18:14 I'm a Slovak. You know what? They feel like shit. What am I supposed to do? They feel like shit right now. Only because they're waking up on a beach hungover. Yeah, that's true. That's it.
Starting point is 00:18:24 You know what you feel for is the pub owner in Prague. That's who's really... struggling. Yeah. Yeah. I don't worry about the players. They're going to be happily posted up at the swim up bar. Would they have been, would it have been that? Texas Slovaks would be the next two? Like could you could you smush them six six nations or no, they hate each other. Yeah. Or does that take away from the luster of this event? Well, I mean, when the last time we saw quote best on best they had the U23 team and they had team Europe. And it would you know, they were actually interesting teams. But the concept just screamed
Starting point is 00:18:57 This is Trinkety. Team Europe at least is, I don't think you can go to those two teams, countries. You're named and say, hey, you do. Team up. Remember, you used to be Czechoslovakia, team up together. We're distinct and unique countries. It's a new world, guys. That's right.
Starting point is 00:19:15 No, it would be those two countries. And then usually what you see is, you know, obviously Russia would be in the mix if they weren't out of the mix politically. But the eighth team is always where you have, we don't really have an eighth power. Sometimes it's Switzerland. Germany's been on the rock. Frican Aussies would get off their asses. Denmark,
Starting point is 00:19:33 Kazakhstan. Like there's a lot of teams that theoretically could be the eighth team in a tournament. Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy,
Starting point is 00:19:40 oh, boy, Ory, perhaps. Oh, well. So hence the four. The Six Nations showdown. You could have included the checks and the Slovaks, but you'd be making fun of that.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Did I bring this up already? Like what teams are we? Did we do this? Teams are we. Oh, because there's four of us. You liked Swedes. I think I ended up with the Canadians. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:00 I got the Americans, yeah. And I've got the Finns. Ooh, too bad. I actually might get on the ice for them. I can play a little D. Scandinavian blonde. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:12 And I'm hard drinking in the middle of the night person, which the Finns do. Stay up all night. We are not done until the water's gone. You're just wearing plaid. Yeah. So like what is it in Finland? Is that where they do the, the saunas and stuff.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Yeah. Sona culture in the Nordic countries for sure. Yeah. Yeah. They put the fishermen's friends in the vodka. Mm. I've heard they put the lime in the coconut. That's Mexico.
Starting point is 00:20:42 It's not. Damn it. What are you looking for? A lot of limes up there. I'm just seeing if there's any... Is that normal for you to be on your phone? What other headlines? What other headlines?
Starting point is 00:20:53 I'm looking for headlines. I'm looking for headlines. Just making sure we're on top of things. Um, we'll get into, uh, the Pinder report, which I know is great. Always. Yeah, which I know is great coming up. Just another reminder. Set it at the outset of the show.
Starting point is 00:21:08 It's the 11th of February Friday. Man, it's coming up quick. I know. I don't know. Valentine's Day. Vena Nova. I don't even need to go. I don't know how much.
Starting point is 00:21:21 You wasted yesterday and we told you not to. Yeah. Don't waste the day. That's what Dean said to you. Don't waste it. Today's a gift. every day is, but here we are already into this one. The present indeed.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Yeah. That's why they call it that. Yeah. Market mall, parking, lab grown diamonds, Justin, Vina Nova, savings, victory. Win, when Valentine's Day. Yeah. Because here's the thing. If it's this late, you're like, oh boy, I'm in trouble here because I don't have a plan yet.
Starting point is 00:21:56 What we're telling you is if you go to Vena Nova, you've not only, solve the problem. You've won. You've exceeded expectations. You can talk about the setting the bar high down the road. That's a next year problem. You're going to win Valentine's Day if you get there. Yeah. Don't think you're going to get a fricking rezo. No. Oh, yeah. That restaurant that books up two months out. Can I get in that? No, they're falling. Shoot. Remind me to bring that up once I'm done with this read. And if you're thinking, well, it's Friday. You know what? It's probably Thursday. Yeah. Because Friday's the day. Yeah. You can be ready. on it Thursday.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Yeah. Today's Tuesday. So come on now. Market Mall, the brand new location. They opened November 1st. You can check out what they're all about on their website, venanova.com.
Starting point is 00:22:42 And it's lab grown diamonds. They are better quality, yet great savings, some 75, 80% what you're going to pay for the, those dirty dirty, weird. Dig them out of the dirt? You're really going to give that to somebody love? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:58 I wouldn't. Market Mall, Viannova. Get it done. Viannova.com. Restaurants that have a month. Yeah, it was a couple weeks ago. It was maybe last week. Just thinking about,
Starting point is 00:23:12 I, it's a restaurant that we all like. We actually discussed about the new menu. Crazy with the, what they're doing there. I saw this picture. And this was a while ago.
Starting point is 00:23:25 I said to it. I wonder if there's I think you still get on Valentine's Day over there. There's no chance. Let's take a look. So we went into the old thing there and you can, because you can do stuff online. Be pop, boop, boop, check at the bar, you can get too top. Get in for me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:43 She laughed out loud. She said, no, it is done. No chance. Oh, actually hang on. 1.30 p.m. Oh, they are. Book it. Lunch.
Starting point is 00:23:55 We're going for the full on meal at one. 30 p.m. Oh, crash and burn. Is that nap or is that bedtime? Oh, it's bedtime. Really? Yeah, why not? Wow.
Starting point is 00:24:06 You're like Nan. Yeah. Get a couple of Grisios in you and just shuttered out. And at first it was like, well, like, yeah, okay, I guess we could. I think we're both very excited for it. This is great. Let's just go. This might be like a total life hack.
Starting point is 00:24:17 You've revolutionized things. Yeah. Everybody else is going out for their things. Yes. Six, seven, 30. Try to get it. Kid activities. Right home then.
Starting point is 00:24:25 Yeah. Why would you want to? No place to yourself. Although it feels like that was the only original. So it's not going to be that way. But it'll get you out of bed in the morning. What are you doing today? Well, I got the thing in that.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Oh, we're going for tag at 1.30. Hi, do. Holy. So we'll make sure that show goes long Friday. Is that what I'm hearing? Yeah. I'll be doing the Warner. Just close the laptop and just leave.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Oh, he's gone. He's gone. So, well, let's do it that way. Yeah. So, I mean, there's a lot of things you got to, you got to keep in mind for Friday. Rett's note is always the heartfelt note. Yeah, wasn't that your thing?
Starting point is 00:25:11 If you don't know what to, we talked about Vina. Not for, not for Valentine's. That's anniversary. That's right. But anniversaries you are. We're getting screwed on all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Get a pen and a paper and just write it out. Just write it out. A bag of mushrooms. And I, Chattaki? What does that do? Yeah. Oh,
Starting point is 00:25:31 does that, how does that affect one's performance, perhaps? Oh, you'll be seeing all kinds of dimensions you've never seen before, yeah. Really? In the mix. Yeah, it did. Can you just, can, so can you just buy those anywhere now, those?
Starting point is 00:25:51 No, yeah, they're still kind of gray market. Yeah. So what do you got to do? What? Just go on the internet's. Yeah. Yeah. Let's make sure you're using Rethers.
Starting point is 00:25:58 mushrooms so they're not on to you oh not cooking mushroom no as well mushroom soup you probably could you probably could zoom zoom zoom zoom yeah I was talking about mushroom soup yeah you were I have some questions for you or us well for you to and maybe jack but I don't know jack doesn't know any of this. Yeah. And part of it was, you know, Elliot brought it up. What are the,
Starting point is 00:26:27 what? Elliot brought it up with you. No, no. On Saturday. Just the Miko Rantaninan thing. Marty Natchez has fit in quite nicely, it seems, with Colorado.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Sure has. Yet I think the hockey world looked at Colorado and said, how could you do it? How could you? What are you guys doing? Now, Rantan has gone to Carolina. He has played six games,
Starting point is 00:26:48 has one goal and one assist. Not an immediate. idiot fit. It's not like he's become a bad player. I think he's also, he got injured before the break here, lower body, something or other. Skated with Finland yesterday, but a little dinged up and snake bitten too. He's had chances. He doesn't buried in this kind of the word. Is there any possibility? It's tough because you've got this two-week break and then the deadlines right there. But with Tulski and I would think you're going to try and get him signed, is there any way that they say, you know what, pivot? I would.
Starting point is 00:27:21 I think there's a very real chance that they don't resign him nor trade him because they're just in that window to win. And cap space is as much a weapon as anything else. When you look at guys like Marner being available this summer, amongst others. But this, that would, the flip is possible, but like they're still contending.
Starting point is 00:27:40 So who are you trading Rantin and two? And what are you getting back? The only is the contender's going to give you young players and picks, right? But the reason we, why does Rantan have to go to a contender? Well, that's the type of team. that should be shopping for him when he's walking into UFA. Although to your point, if you feel like you can ink him,
Starting point is 00:27:56 I think that's anyone should want. I think it's the exact opposite. Mako-Rantan is a player that every team in the league should want. And if you're the Calgary Flames, you should try to sign him. Yeah, that's right for him. Like, we're prepared to give you all the money. How much is all?
Starting point is 00:28:13 Whatever it is. 14? 14, right? That would be your message. I started to wonder if he's a $14 million dollar player. And I know there wasn't a popular opinion, but Chicago. Yeah, Chicago.
Starting point is 00:28:21 pay him 14 for sure he's got Chicago should pay him 100% they should yes they got no one expensive they've got no skill they got Ryan Donato playing with Bidard a fourth line or the last decade to answer your question well do you want more to finish well I just think there's a very real chance the Colorado avalanche knew miko rattanan was a very good player but not a superstar because they see him play with nathan mcginon and kail mccar for the vast majority of his minutes and they said we can probably get 90% of Rantanin or more at two-thirds the cost. And maybe it doesn't play out that way. And these are very small samples we're looking at.
Starting point is 00:28:58 And Marty Nachis has fit in seamlessly, and you've got to allow Miko Rantanin some time to fit in. But the team that knew Rantinin' the best made this decision. That's always what I think about in these deals. I think it was calculated, but there was huge risk to it. You knew what you had. So whether Rantin'in or I can't say the guy's name. Natchez.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Natchez, is better or worse or 90% or huge risk. You had three superstars in Colorado that could win you Stanley Cups and you decided it's fine. Not my decision to make. It's a huge risk that it has it worked out so far? Yeah, and it doesn't matter. We'll be measuring these deals in the spring when playoffs and games
Starting point is 00:29:43 that matter. Like the abs are in a wild card. It's not like, well, look what Marty, nature. No, it's a good start. they didn't want to pay Rantan in the number. And they may or may not have good reasons for that, whether it's an internal cap, whether they think his numbers are inflated from McKinnon,
Starting point is 00:29:56 whether they're worried about a McCar extension down the road. Marty Natchez is playing so well. He might be asking for a Rantin and type number in a couple years. He's got another year left on that deal, but then he has to get paid. To your point about the Avalanche knew. Redmond better than anybody. Carolina also knew Natchis.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Yeah. And he was to serve. They were pretty prepared to move. on for me a while. He was a third line or a year ago and his dad made a bunch of noise. Would. That's what happened there, right? If I remember correctly that cap stuff came out just after. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Would that have changed Colorado's approach? I don't think it was way off what teams were sort of planning for, but when you see it. Why did everyone in the media make it sound like, oh, no, it wasn't what it was. It was confirmation of the speculation we've heard for a while. Oh, confirmation of the speculation. we'd heard that the cap will be around 110 million in a couple of years. And it ends up being a little more than that. What, 114 and a half, 114?
Starting point is 00:30:57 But until we've always heard, oh, caps growing, caps growing, caps growing. And then, oh, well, then this happened. Well, then that happened. It's finally locked in three years. It doesn't matter what happens. Pandemic, huge news, streaming deal, nothing changes. They're locked in stone for three years. So teams would have internal budgets for where the cap would be.
Starting point is 00:31:16 but now everyone's working with hard numbers. There's a pandemic. I mean, they've locked in, but yeah, they'll just take the money back. And the other thing we heard is how teams were all but hurt. Well, did they shop this player? Was that we had, we didn't know this was going to happen. If Tulski and Carolina looks at it, can we pivot? Get it.
Starting point is 00:31:33 I don't know if we're going to sign them. It hasn't been an immediate fit. Is there somebody else out there that we can insert and not sewer our chances this year? I think it's very slim. I agree. It's possible, though. I still think that the Canucks were part of the problem. Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:48 The Carolina hurricanes were in on what sounded like a Pedersen or a Miller deal. And they looked at the package of players of Vancouver was asking for it. So you know what? If we just spice this up a little, we can go to Rantman who's younger and better than both the other two. Yeah. So yeah, good move, Tulski. And Colorado's probably going, well, if we're not sure what's going to happen with Rantan and we think we could get it, the guy from going to say his name.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Natures. Naches. is. Well, if Vancouver makes that trade, he's gone. So now we're stuck. Yeah. And, oh, you didn't shop. He didn't shop. I'm like, does it look like the returns light? No, and it just looks unbelievable. And I always wonder about the owner there too. If Dunden is looking at things and say, well, we want to win this year. We made this trade. Now, he's not been great. And I, we're not going to sign him. He's not a guy that overpays. Yeah. I worried about their ability to sign him right from the get go because they've never paid
Starting point is 00:32:43 anyone like it took an offer sheet for them to pay aho they screwed rod the bod to take way under market because he didn't want to leave didn't want to leave uh they don't pay goalies which is probably more of an analytics philosophy on on roster building but they just don't pay anyone and so when the avalanche who have been comfy paying stars are saying nah and carolina picks up a guy like i just i don't think he's long for carolina maybe they this is the guy they they blow the doors off for but it's not the start that's winning them over it's not like he's been undeniable you got to give this guy 14 million because they also just did the gensel last year yeah and they didn't pay him for him didn't pay him didn't he played well for them but it didn't work yeah and when you say work it's
Starting point is 00:33:28 like you probably have to win a cup well that's what i mean like yeah the ultimate goal is like he was a good fit it was a good trade they didn't give up a first all they gave up was like seconds and thirds and and be prospects and then it was that dope they got back in that deal that used to play in Toronto, I want to say. Hunting. Hunting. Thank you. Yeah. So that's a deal for Tulski. It's easy to make because you didn't give up anything valuable.
Starting point is 00:33:49 And he gets the cap space back anyway. This one's a little different because Marty Natchez is looking like a really, really good player that you had team control on for another year. Yeah, another year of them. Six and a half, which was a steel. He's top 10 in league scoring, if I'm correct. I have another player. I want to ask you about it.
Starting point is 00:34:07 How'd that go? Was that okay? Is that very hockey? I didn't want to. We're mixing a food question. I thought you were throwing. rolling to the Pinda report and we could leave and go eat. I could have to do it today, I guess.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Save it. We got to let's your, it's your world, Dean. There'll be no games to react to tomorrow. One question. Dean. Sorry, guys. One hockey question. Guys lose it.
Starting point is 00:34:29 How dare you? What are you doing, man? Dude, tell me it was a week on. Stay home if you're going to act like this. Go home. Mod medical clinic. Speaking of Valentine's Day. Goodness.
Starting point is 00:34:40 That's what I was saying. Are you prepared? Be arouse.ca, the mod medical clinic. Optimize your sexual function. That's not just your sexual function. It's just be a better man. Feel better. Less aches, less pains, less going to the bathroom in the middle of the night,
Starting point is 00:34:55 less having to pop blue pills or whatever it is when the time is right. Pelvic floor strength, hips, lower back. Be aroused.com. They're prepared to work with you. It's kind of just men's health on a, kind of on a wide scale. And we talk about, you know, the sexual performance because I think we all like to perform.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Seems like fun. We all like to. People tell me it's a good time. Yeah, you like to, if I'm going to put on the gear and go play, like to play well. Play to win. Right?
Starting point is 00:35:31 Here to win. We're going to play. We may as well win. Do you want to finish second? Never different. Pelvic floor physiotherapy. is where it all starts. And I didn't know a lot, but not,
Starting point is 00:35:45 I said before you're starting to see this now. Oh, pelvic floor of this and that. The Mod Medical Clinic has been in front of this for years. Helps men with incontinence, sexual performance, hip and lower back pain, assist the stabilization of the core to optimize mobility. That's the other thing.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Is you get older? Getting in there out of the rig. I don't want to be. Do you want to slip in, do you want to be, you've got bad hips? You'll have a broken hip. No good.
Starting point is 00:36:11 You don't fall on your head. That's for sure. Next thing you know, you're falling and hurting yourself and no good. So 20, 25, let's be better men. Let's get over the fact, oh, it's kind of, that's kind of a silly, sensitive subject. No, it's not. Taboo, Dean. Not anymore, not in 2025, so you're the snake.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Not in 2025. What is it? We need to remove the taboo. That's right. Get rid of it. About sexual health begins here. Book a consultation at be aroused.ca. They've got Bayer sure.
Starting point is 00:36:42 It's kind of a, you know what, the Bococks. Bocox. It's a little on the nose, but it's pretty clever, you know? It's not hard to figure out what it is. Like, you know what we should call it Bocax? It's funny. Well, I actually kind of like that. If you want something where there's no, what is it?
Starting point is 00:36:59 Kind of clear what it is. And it's more than just that. It's safe. That's the thing about all of this. It's all safe. It's probably more. safe for you walking around like a deadbeat. That's right.
Starting point is 00:37:11 That'd be optimize your life in the bedroom and the bathroom. Educate yourself. Be strong. Be a better man. That's not their tagline, but it just feels like that's what it is. That's what I'm getting from it. Be a man. Be a man. Man, I really wanted to ask you that other question. Go ahead. I'll do it tomorrow. I can skip over it. If we don't like the question, we won't answer it. That's how we're wrong. It's a really good one, though.
Starting point is 00:37:39 We'll play the first. I shouldn't. What time is it? It's 11.06. And we started quite a bit late. See you, buddies. If you think you can come up with another question for tomorrow, then you use this right now, Dean.
Starting point is 00:37:52 Because God knows we might not be here. Shit could hit the fan. Yeah. Because today's a gift. It's right, Dean. What do they call it? It's the 11th. That's why they call it the present.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Thank you, dude. Also, it's the 11th. he's right as well. 11. You're both right. You don't get a, uh, sleeve.
Starting point is 00:38:16 I didn't get one today. Why? They didn't give me one. Drive through. That sits in the old couple of us. That's probably fine. Yeah. But chili, eh?
Starting point is 00:38:26 It gets cold in the hurry. You know what I've noticed? Hey? Is I, uh, I bought because it's cold out. I bought some gloves. You want to have some gloves. You definitely want some gloves?
Starting point is 00:38:36 You didn't have any gloves? Or is your time for new gloves? pair, right? Because you're outside. Work it so hard. I'm outside so much. Build for the wild. So I bought some gloves and while I was there, I said, you know, it'd be a good dad. I'll buy the boys a pair as well. So it's funny.
Starting point is 00:38:52 I bought three pair. Yeah. You have none? I have zero pair. It's going to say, that's a bad move. We have a hundred pair. No one has any. How if, how did.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Another's going to be missy matchy pairs, right hands missing and all kinds of nonsense. I don't know how that. math works, but I thought of it this morning. I bought three and I have none. What'd you learn, Dean? I don't know what the... I know what you learned. You should be learning.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Don't buy shit for loomoxes. I guess. Yeah, if I bought one... If you kept one pair in your truck... Get that string thing. The string. Shit music. Yeah, you're, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:32 If you left those in the console or your truck, you'd still have your pair. Yes. It's not like you're in the backyard. cleaning up dog turds. No, I'm not doing that. So where are you wearing them and your 15 steps from the house? Yes, that's correct.
Starting point is 00:39:49 And the mall parking lot. There is, again, there is some running around. I was in Okotokes last night. What? I know. You're doing an Okotokes? I have, I got, going to be the mayor. Hey, he's just yada, yada, yada yada.
Starting point is 00:39:59 What the hell were you doing an oak to? Same thing as last Monday. The daughter's got a ring a thing every Monday down there. So we got a, oh, you know, those high chiquis. Pricks. Hard fancy. ringette school yeah
Starting point is 00:40:12 it's about 149 bucks for eight sessions or something we're really we're finding away though we are finding away yeah I just about I bought one pair
Starting point is 00:40:25 I'd have it right now yes they'd be sitting right there that's the less than I bought three chubber hasn't learned that yet either no tukes gloves all that stuff the more the merrier except that just means
Starting point is 00:40:38 when you lose one Yeah, I'll grab another and then you lose that one. There's slots. Yeah, I've got so many. I don't really need to care of this. There's just more sitting at home. I also decided we need to bring back the F I'm old because I'm just seeing things again today as I'm,
Starting point is 00:40:52 as I'm leaving to go to come here. School buses are going, picking up kids. Can I press pause for a moment here? Don't say something offside. Does Jack know what FM old is? because you can jump right back on the story. It's kind of like Bocax. It's kind of right on the nose.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Yeah. It's just observations. We are that we're getting older. There's a girl. There's more than just one, but this one girl wearing no gloves, no tuk, no, nothing. It's just kind of, like you.
Starting point is 00:41:34 And it's like, so you've got these pants on that aren't really pants. It's, there's like, skin from just below the knee down to the ankle, just bare legs. Perverted. What are we doing, guys? You don't want to expose skin in this weather. Not perverted. It was not one of those things.
Starting point is 00:41:52 It was so you not only don't have a toke or gloves or a warm enough jacket. You've got a hoodie. And bare skin showing what are we doing? Web Hof. Don't think that cold weather therapy. She's not air plunging. I don't think. This is just a dumb team.
Starting point is 00:42:10 I have done that. And she. she's frozen. You're an idiot. Who could have seen it coming? You're an idiot. That's what I told her and then drove off. I love it when he rolled down the window.
Starting point is 00:42:27 I think I told this story years ago where this dopster was walking in the crosswalk, had his music on, just sauntering. Like, I skipped the shit out of it. Oh, wow! Yeah. Hurry up!
Starting point is 00:42:48 Yeah. Rolled the window, Tom. You tell him, breath. Let him know. Got to let him know. Jack. If I'm old. If I'm old.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Hey, Jack. Hey, Dean. Do you know who Buster Douglas is? I know Buster Rhymes. That's not. No. Buster rhymes. Close.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Buster Douglas, no? He was a face puncher, Jack. It was 35. I saw it was 35 years ago today. Yeah. That he beat Mike Tyson. was in plenty saskatch i was in plenty home of kelly and brab mccriman and they're having a thing out in that area is it dodsland maybe it's out there i believe it's called the alumni is going
Starting point is 00:43:33 out there they have a thing going on in doddsland what kind of thing like a reunion of sorts yeah celebration i don't know if it's the mccrimands are definitely in clad I got, listen. It's not a cup party because they don't have it anymore. Not yet. I ever see ever tell you that story? Great story. Tell us.
Starting point is 00:43:52 My best friend growing up, his dad was the principal in plenty, Saskatchewan, where the McCrimands are from. Yeah. I was out there for the graduation ceremony hanging out with my bud. And so I was at the ceremony and the one and only Brad McCriman was speaking. happened to be sitting right in front of me had his arm around his wife and on his hand the ring bling and i yeah whoa beast as a here kid oh take a look so ret turns and just runs as fast then i didn't get anything like it in my life i was going to say and that's where the jinx curse
Starting point is 00:44:39 they touched yeah sorry god damn it I could have had three of those things also told the agent that he I was lazy and yeah never turn out is that right kind of right damn kind of lazy a little bit lazy a little bit unfit little unfit maybe he's been slid down to the seventh defense in that uh shrieated today really because uh gustav forsling was ill yesterday but returned his practice today panthers defenseman for that rasmus 7th D. Healthy.
Starting point is 00:45:16 Could be. Really. You'll find out tomorrow. See, this is good tonic for Flames fans and for all of us. Don't overvalue what. Oh, we're just going to get this. We're all guilty of it. It's also, don't say that, oh, we got all the castaways in the world.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Give this guy nine sheets a year for the next nine years. Eight, whatever it is. Trade his ass out of here, Conroy. Damn it, Jack. Where's my sound board? Yeah, where is you? play on jack on jack what's happening nine what i was on my fault he's the seventh offense but not the ninth oh nine million you said nine years and nine million can't do nine years can't
Starting point is 00:45:58 i mean he's got one year left he's got one year left so he's gonna eight and only nine oh nine geez i see being here i'm all kind of that's mad you're cursing again settle the house that house are we shocked by this they got a good blue line let's hear it well I mean jack we can't get the line up we have the line up settled down
Starting point is 00:46:23 jeez they release them not in once an hour not in the year of the snake one team had practiced and actually shown their lines and I had the audacity to put it on the show yesterday before the other three teams of practiced exactly uh the blue line like there's at home
Starting point is 00:46:41 There's Foresling. There's Eric Carlson. But there's a hippo almost getting out of its enclosure. Looks like he's real good. Headman, Brodine, Dahlene. Well, that's until today's skate. What? Rasmus was skating with Dahlene.
Starting point is 00:46:54 Foresling has come into that spot. At Coleman, Carlson are 5'6. And they have the other Carlson. Skating with Rasmus is a fourth pair. What's happening? I would go home to or to Mexico. Turkey. I thought John Carlson was a mayor.
Starting point is 00:47:13 Yeah, a different one there, yeah. Eric, Carlson didn't make the American team, Johnny. So now, it is kind of we're having to fun with it. No, that's a really good group. But to be, like, if he is, it's a very good D group, but if he is truly seventh in the eyes of the coaching staff, do we overvalue no, what he is? No, I think there's, if you took any of those guys,
Starting point is 00:47:42 I don't want Eric Carlson, but the rest of them, I'd take. Yeah, Carlson's going to suit a role there that, Rasmus doesn't play. He's P-P-1. Just like Jonas Brodine is going to be your shutdown stay-at-home defender, which Rasmus is not. I'd have Rasmus over him as well. It's just that you're building different pieces of the puzzle here.
Starting point is 00:48:01 Like Dahlene, great player. At home, maybe the best trade Ken Holland made in five years. Headman, superstar. Rodin, great defender, Carlson, great power play defenseman. Foresling's been excellent in Florida. I don't see it as some huge indictment. Okay. I'm just asking.
Starting point is 00:48:18 If you can't make Team Finland, now we're fucked. I'm just asking. Was that your question? No, that was not the question, but just. Sponsaneh question. We're getting over questioned here. With all of the trades that have happened with involving the flames, we've been over our skis on pretty much all of them.
Starting point is 00:48:34 Not true. The Lindholm deal, they got way more than we over there. I'm talking about what we were expecting or thought was going to happen. Only you. Yes, only you fight that battle about the Lindholm. You really do. Well, because they did really well in that. I didn't like the Tannaf deal at all.
Starting point is 00:48:49 The Hannafin one, we'll see where the pick ends up. I thought they did well in the Tafoli deal when we look back at it. No, but you're forgetting what you were going to, you said, we were going to get in return for these guys. We thought it was going to be a first for Tifoli. We thought it was going to be a first for Tafoley. But when you take your Sherry-Govitch, that doesn't mean it's not a first. No, listen, that's all I'm saying is what we thought going in.
Starting point is 00:49:13 And then when the trade happened, we were like, oh, that's not. And so what I thought they would get for Lindholm was a first. the prospect. You don't need to be, just, I'm not saying we were right or wrong. I'm just saying that we have done that in doing this show. We've kind of,
Starting point is 00:49:26 oh, geez, that's kind of, it's made a little underwhelming. Zadarov was late, Tanna was late. Hanof and will see, I think they did well on Tafoli and Lindel.
Starting point is 00:49:33 That's my opinion on them. Yeah. So one out of, a mixed bag. Again, you didn't think they did well with the Tafoli deal until Sharon Gowicz came in.
Starting point is 00:49:42 No, I remember being on a rooftop in Nashville and saying, like, until we know what you go, Sharon Govich is going to be really hard to measure this. things. He knew is what he's telling. I did not know. That's exactly what I said. How are we going to grade this thing? We don't know what the say. Your approach was I'm not going to give an opinion. No, no. We'd weigh it in, but it's like it really, you know, if you're
Starting point is 00:49:59 Sharon Govich is not in the league, that's a disastrous loss. If he's a top six forward, that's a huge win and he might or might not be that. But you know what I'm saying. I know what you're shitting yourself as to what you thought you're getting in return. I understand what you're saying. I still think you thought as good as Sharon Govich has been. been for them, you still thought going into those trades, you were going to get buttloads more. I thought they were going to get a first.
Starting point is 00:50:26 No, I don't know that... And that's all I'm saying. Yeah, and I don't know that a late first is any better or worse to share it in leverage at this point. Because keep in mind, that's not what I... Did the trade work out is not the point I may. I'm just saying when we are getting ready for trades, well, here's what we think of what's it going to be?
Starting point is 00:50:41 It's going to be first and this... Ooh, to the point being, are we over... Are we overvaluing Rasmus Anderson's value. Here's the counterpoint. There's no counterpoint. That's all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. Right. Okay. So context.
Starting point is 00:50:56 What did you think the Penguins would get for Marcus Pedersen? Because I think that matters. I didn't even know he was on like zero. And so if you see him. Because the point is, again, Ryan, the point is we're in Calgary talking about Flames players. It would be like asking Pittsburgh reporters what they thought they were going to get for Pedersen and Pittsburgh. Yeah, I guess what I'm saying is that each year the Marcus, It's a little different.
Starting point is 00:51:18 There's not a lot of sellers this year. I think it's a good time to sell. The cap number is a big part of the Rasmus thing too. Cap helps. And the cap going up also helps because it, you know, it allows teams to say, geez, we can extend this guy, no sweat. But yeah, like every year's a little different. We see first flying around some years, other years,
Starting point is 00:51:36 nobody gets rid of them. Draft classes are stronger and weaker. Some years there's more sellers, more buyers. Like, it's just, yeah, it's a market that changes. If you had to guess today, what is the outcome with Anderson traded re-signed walk is a u. i think that the flames are going to get shit pumped over the next two weeks when they come back and i think they're going to start to look at moving guys my fear is that they do extend
Starting point is 00:52:03 them and not because he's not a good player but because i don't think he lines up really well for when i think this team will be competitive but what do you think they will that's my fear is that they'll do that i think they will i hope that a losing skid like the one RET's talking about happens because you might start to look out and pull the zoom out a bit more and say, do we really want years 30 to 37 of a guy? Or a nice pile of young assets.
Starting point is 00:52:29 Now, again, we don't know what the deals are, but we can only speculate that if Pedersen was worth what he was worth, Anderson would be worth a lot more given the lower salary, the extra year of term, the fact that he's a better player. What did they get for him? Like a first. A first rounder.
Starting point is 00:52:44 And first is. And then, you know, I don't know how you view bini d'a her name they took him off is that a cat is that a salary dump is it's kind of like the kuzmanko part of the lint home deal is who who's benefiting who here by taking it and when he squares 40 you're like oh yeah that's going for the flames then when he's benched you're like oh yeah that was a cash down for the kennops he's a fringy guy what number do you want to matter if you're if you okay i don't want to trade you or i don't want to overpay you so if i have to overpay you i'm going to trade you so the cap will be 105 million dollars that
Starting point is 00:53:16 year. First year was a new deal. That's not, okay. And so that just matters for context, because if you're talking in today's salaries, it's going to be like, you almost have to have 20%. What I know, but what are you're, what's he capable at? Well, yeah, if he was a free agent this summer and teams were lining every, like last summer, because that's the price. What is he capable if you're Craig Conroy?
Starting point is 00:53:40 I think if you can get them under nine, that's probably something Craig would be happy with. Okay, so eight and a half. Yeah, I think you take that. If you're trying to sign them, that's the number that you can live with. Because the other part of it is, too, do you, even if you're still on the fence, can you try and sign them? It doesn't mean you, I mean, it's correct.
Starting point is 00:54:01 I don't know, no trade clause, but. They get the full no moves and then the term scares. So which no trade clauses. Well, I'm just, it's not as though, well, we've signed them now. We've got them for the full duration of this. A no trade clause affects going to Calgary, not leave. And I think that's even change. here's the thing the player's going to have all the leverage here they got tons of
Starting point is 00:54:24 caps space they publicly talked about wanting to recite him and not trade him he likes it here and uh you know they've been much more competitive why isn't that important though all that's important but you're ready to cut bait no i'm i think it's age it's age you're that's fine that's and so i don't actually agree with you because it's it doesn't mean he won't be really good for the next three four years but i'm worried about What's a fourth or what's a sixth defenseman? I know I'm interrupting. But what's a sixth defenseman right now?
Starting point is 00:54:55 Worth. Like, and don't say the flame six. A half. I don't know. Like sixes don't get paid, really. Yeah, I would like. On a good core. Two.
Starting point is 00:55:06 So that'll go up. Yeah, but if it's up 15%, it's like, it's two and a half, two and a quarter. Like, it's still cheapest, cheap, cheap, cheap. What you don't want is Rasmus Anderson being your fourth or fifth best defenseman and get and and then these guys come up for contracts like parrick or let's say amuse that's the problem i have with your right i'm not a problem but i hope you're right i hope those guys are so good they're pushing everyone out i don't think resigning rasmus anderson has any effect on correct making the team or not making the team it's more of the fact that you you now you're
Starting point is 00:55:43 like shoot that you're in a buying you have to pay some guys coming out of entry level are your defenseman that you're paying you have like the parent could theoretically be on a second contract in four years okay and so that's right when rasmus it's going to be like okay you're 33 now we're starting to see this a little bit less every year as or you know it's not necessarily perfect straight line but you don't expect the 34 year old to look as good as he did at 27 is that fair it's it's very rare like gee we saw we'd be hard to come up with more examples that you'd ever played a playoff game so he wasn't really and i'll say this we we talked about we talked about we talked about we talked about talk a bit about guys, you know, how many kilometers are on the chassis. He's going,
Starting point is 00:56:22 Raspis doesn't strike me as a guy who's going to age particularly well. I agree. J. Beaumester. Yeah. I could skate. Effortless skaters will age better, right? Yeah, I agree. I just think if this team was a little further along in their competitiveness, and not where they are in the standings, but just in terms of where the core is, I think it makes a lot of sense. But I'm expecting Backland to be a little bit less effective next year. Coleman a little bit less effective. Weger a little bit less effective.
Starting point is 00:56:50 Anderson a little bit less. Like just when guys get past 30, I'm not saying they're going to fall off cliff and be unhelpful. But like, I don't think like Coleman's can score 30 in this league. J.T. Miller. J.T. Miller's 32 and they couldn't get a lot for him because of the contract. That's that was the fear.
Starting point is 00:57:04 Why did they have to, no, no, no, no. That was why they didn't get a lot. I mean, he controlled it with the no move, but the fear was. So they wouldn't have traded him. There wasn't, they wouldn't move off him because he was a star at 32 in Vancouver. the reason they traded him
Starting point is 00:57:19 was because of the shitstorm that was going on in the room. No, no, no, no. You misinterpreted what I'm saying. I'm saying the reason they didn't get a haul for him was the contract he had left. But they would not have, they wouldn't have been looking to trade him.
Starting point is 00:57:30 They wouldn't have looked to trade. No, no, no, no. They had to trade him. We get that. My point is, if you looked at how good he was last year, you would have thought you got a king's rancet for him. No, it is. He's a point is that he's 32,
Starting point is 00:57:42 and based on just the player, you wouldn't have been looking to trade him because you're very happy. what you have, even though he's 30. I agree. But when they were forced to trade him and there's five years left, that gets scary for GMs. I don't think you can look at that deal.
Starting point is 00:57:56 You told me they can't trade. Here's what you get for a 32 year old player. I'm not saying. There was unrest in the room and a no trade clause. It was a distressed asset to a degree. But what I'm saying is that a big part of the lack of the return, like you expected more, was that there's five years left. What's J.T. Miller, a power forward going to look like at 36 and 37.
Starting point is 00:58:13 That's what scares teams. Running your mouth right now. You said it about. I do think it's. part of it. Well, it's a huge piece of it, but again, you disagree, but again, when, like, think of guys that you played with. You say, look, guys don't train like me. Yeah. And my body broke down. But how many guys that you played with were effective at 36? Lots. When I played. Lots, I bet you're less than half. So, like, what was Reggie at 36? I don't,
Starting point is 00:58:41 I don't know. I'm literally asking. He might have been fine. He might have been retired, but then I have no idea. I don't even know if he was playing. Well, so this is kind of my point is that even guys that are great when they're 32, you know at some point, it's not like some guy just played till he was 60. They all get beaten by father time and most of it happens in your mid-30s for most of these guys. The average player will become ineffective in their mid-30s. That's what you will want to avoid is paying that player huge money. And I'm not saying it is going to happen to JT Miller, right? It is going to happen to Rasmus Anderson. What I'm saying is is that risk is part of why these contracts signings are difficult. So Chris Tanev's contract is a
Starting point is 00:59:12 horseship. Chris Tannave is a one-off because they're going to put them on Robida Island. So why can't you put Rasmus Anderson on Robbins? I don't think your owner has the appetite to go over the cap when it's 110 million, 14 million. I mean, look, you could. It's just that's the time in this team's life cycle where they're going to want to go shopping and free agents. You don't know nothing about that.
Starting point is 00:59:37 Five, you're telling me you know what the team's going to be in five years. No, no, but they, you're hoping that this is, the time when a lot of these prospects are arriving and they're not all going to. I get it. St. Perrick may or may not be a superstar. He may be an average player. He may not play in a league. He might be a Norris winner. We don't know. I get it.
Starting point is 00:59:54 But there's a pile of players that are of the same age group and many of them will be NHLers. This is the worst. You just we can't ignore our aging curves. And front offices don't anymore. You used to. And that's why when free agency was
Starting point is 01:00:10 31, the Leafs and Rangers were never good despite out spending everyone. Because what did they get? They got guys in their 30s. And you would like to think that, hey, the cap's going up. So was the spending. Yeah. You're still going to find themselves just spending more and bumping up against it.
Starting point is 01:00:25 And be like, geez, we should not have that on the post. It's not like the cap goes up and the salaries don't. The salaries go right with it. And it might take some time to get there. But you're also that you're so good. And then you are click good. Thank you. Appreciate.
Starting point is 01:00:36 Everyone has shitty contracts on their books. So. Yeah. They somehow survive and... Well, I mean, it's not a let's collect them all, but the teams that have fewer of them have better chances at winning cups. Like, I'd argue that if the Oilers didn't have as much bad money
Starting point is 01:00:50 on their books as they had over the last five years that have Stanley Cup. Yeah, but it's easy to say that, but... Like, what's Colorado's bad money? You know, like, what's Carolina's bad money? If Colorado's got no bad money... What's Florida's bad money? Like, there's actually a lot of smart teams
Starting point is 01:01:06 that don't have a huge... But you were the one that brought it up to me, the Cuberdose contracts, not the end of the world. Most teams have a bad one. But again, do you want to be in the middle of the pack of this league or is the end goal for the franchise to want to tell you right now? They're going to be middle of the path. I'll for this.
Starting point is 01:01:23 Next little bit. Yeah. No, I, again, I think it's a very full circle chat to the one we had like two weeks ago where it's like, what is your goal? Is it to go win a cup at all costs? Or is it, you know what? Let's just be competitive and everyone that gets to the dance has a chance. Because there is that.
Starting point is 01:01:39 it is true it's a wild and I continue Seattle beat Colorado two years ago I continue to to say that you make it sound too simplistic that if you get bad pick high stars cups
Starting point is 01:01:52 it's just no the cups aren't a guarantee at all I continue to say that Jesse Poole Jarvie was top five pick yeah and if they took Matthew Kach there they probably would have a couple cups
Starting point is 01:02:03 yeah but they didn't but they didn't yeah so Paul YARV is still a player at Ryan no and so my point is But it's, what I'm saying is it's easy to pick Kachuk. You also could take Poyarvi. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 01:02:14 So if the flames are bad, here you go. You got a top five pick better hit on it. Pull Yarvi. Stud. Nope. Or shit. Or, and so, so no, Paul Yarvi has not derailed the oilers. Why?
Starting point is 01:02:27 I mean, it hurts for sure. Because they have. Right. And so my point is. And where did they draft him? Number one. And where do they draft the other guy? Number three.
Starting point is 01:02:35 It's not the point. So, no. It's not about the oilers. It's about. the player. I get your point. What's my point? Is it you need,
Starting point is 01:02:42 I get lottery tickets. Yes, you need more than you. I get it. Absolutely. But. So it's like, do you, the question really is for this organization.
Starting point is 01:02:50 Do you have the stomach to have two to four really rough years? No, it's not the question. The question is, are you bad enough to have those years? For sure. I mean, you can make yourself bad enough, yes.
Starting point is 01:03:05 Well, I think your goaltender is going to say, get me the, out of here. I mean, it's certainly possible. It's, uh, okay, and here's the other scenario. Do you remember who Dominic Hashik is? Yeah, very familiar.
Starting point is 01:03:19 Right? Yeah. What did they do in Buffalo with his career? Well, he held that team up to a really high standard and they weren't really spending that much and they got close and didn't win. And didn't pick high. Yeah. No one had to.
Starting point is 01:03:31 Yeah. There is a scenario that where it's like, oh, we're going to like, they were cheap as bastards and. in Buffalo as well. They wasted the best player in the NHL for half a decade. The best goal in the history league, I'd argue. And so I don't see this group like the Sabres
Starting point is 01:03:50 because if you don't want to be the Buffalo Sabres, it's really easy. You trade Rasmus Anderson and you aren't the Sabres. If you roll out a blue line with McKenzie Weeger, Kevin Ball. Where are we on the best years of Wolf? I think Wolf has a very good chance of being one of those elite top 10 guys in the league. I really believe that. But that's the point. So what does that,
Starting point is 01:04:14 just like, but what does that do to your team then? Well, I mean, it means you're getting more saves than you're going to get from a regular goalie for sure. But it doesn't mean that if you delete Rasmus and they still can't be a bottom 5th team, they sure they can. But they, you know, and then you're taking calls on Cadry if you've gone that far down the road. But Godry is going to want. Didn't say that. Yes, you did. You have said that numerous times to me. Cadry is untradable.
Starting point is 01:04:40 At times he was. I think at this point with only with the term left, and the way he's played, it's you, you could probably get rid of him. I don't know you're getting a homeback. I'm with you, but I also see we were,
Starting point is 01:04:50 we've been having these conversations for a long time. To say he was tradable, like, but he's had seven years left on the deal when it started. Now it's three years. Like, okay, well, it's the same time frame.
Starting point is 01:05:01 He had a contract from now till now. I know. So you're saying, look, I think at this point you could trade. I don't know that you're going, who's doing who the favor to the chat we had earlier this year with Vancouver. But again, if you keep the group around Wolf that's here,
Starting point is 01:05:16 I agree they won't bottom out. But you've got a really big decision on that group that starts with Rasmus Anderson this summer. Okay, let's, do you think that, okay, Rasmus Anderson signs an eight-year deal, Pinder doesn't like it, it's too much money. I'm not going to say I don't like it. There's risk that comes of it, right? What I'm getting at is, will there not be a team? in six years.
Starting point is 01:05:40 If everything else goes as planned and Rasmus does crash and burn a little bit, is there no way of dumping them? If he's making nine a year and you don't want them, why does someone else want that contract? Because that's what teams do. They take on shitty contracts for return. Not very often. You kind of have to broaden to do it.
Starting point is 01:06:00 But yeah. What's, fuck, Chicago ate a whole bunch of money and gave up a player for a third. I'm not saying you can't go pay someone to eat bad money. Of course you can. What I'm saying is that's probably not an efficient way to do business. You can get out of the problem.
Starting point is 01:06:16 It's not like you're, it's, well, since they signed him, everything's ruined, move the franchise. But it's going to make life harder if he doesn't age well. For sure. I still think we're screwed because we're stuck somewhere that we don't want to be. Yeah, I'm serious. You seem to, again, you have this plan and you think it's going, I don't think it's as cut and dry as you.
Starting point is 01:06:36 make it out to be. And I think there's a lot of mucky middle still lurking because of the setup you have with this squad. I, what I see is, is really clear is that the pieces to win a Stanley Cup aren't here. That's what's clear. That's clear.
Starting point is 01:06:51 They're not beating anyone. And so I'm not, you know, as someone saying, I want to pick a route to success, I'm not terribly concerned about them, you know, being so good,
Starting point is 01:07:01 they're going to be a cup contender anytime soon. And I would start trying to build that core, people that can help you be that. Huska. Why am I getting hit? Husk. Look at the team like, get these guys play them worse. So we can. I mean, it's funny.
Starting point is 01:07:16 Look at a team like Detroit. They've been bad for a long time now. They finished dead last, didn't win the lottery. Like there's been, right? There's been that. And they're, they're kind of a playoff team now. Great under McClellan. They were,
Starting point is 01:07:29 a win away from getting in last year. It's kind of turned the corner. But you would, maybe. Maybe. Ottawa has. Who's their star? Mo Sada. Probably Mo.
Starting point is 01:07:40 Like, Lucas Raymond is a very good player. Mo Sider's a very good player. They don't have anyone that allows them to beat the best teams either. I agree. And that was sort of some bad lottery luck there. But we'd have been, and I say we, we'd have been happy with that pursuit.
Starting point is 01:07:55 Trade guys, don't. They did sign some fucking old guys. They made some bad decisions. But it hasn't been a cap thing that's kept them. They've been bad, have picked high. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:05 But I don't. see them as a wait for them. They've got badard or I think they're going to be in trouble because they're not they don't have the superstars. You've looked at the situation that was the worst luck because they dropped two or three spots in the lottery multiple years like bad luck. But there's other teams
Starting point is 01:08:24 that have finished bottom three for a long time. I don't know. They have a top three pick for and why is it bad luck. But anyway, throw buffalo in there. Throw Ottawa who's just now start. Well, Columbus is Is Brady Kachuk a generational? I love him as a centerpiece. I think he could captain a winning team, yeah. Is Rasmus Dahlene?
Starting point is 01:08:45 I don't know enough about Rasmus. No, of course, no one could do it by themselves. Connor does never ring. But I don't have a problem with, you know, like, if anyone's listening and saying Pindor thinks they can just win a cup if they just tear it down, that's absolutely not true. It's very, very hard. But if you just want to make high percentage,
Starting point is 01:09:05 bets. It's very, very, very low probability you'll ever have a real contender if you don't go find a megastud and it's hard, almost impossible to get them if you're not picking in the top five to ten. And you can't, you can't, there's very little debate there. Right. And so the question is, okay, does Wolf take them out of drafting that guy range? No, but it certainly makes it a little harder. You're now going to have to hit at a rantan level rather than the McKinnon, McDavid first overalls, right? And this year, the pressing issue that I see that I don't think there's enough urgency on at this point, but hopefully there is some before the deadline is you're looking at a top 10 pick.
Starting point is 01:09:44 And if you have it, you get to use it. And if you don't, that pick goes to Montreal. Top 10's okay. After that, it gets really mad. Like you might get a right shot centerman who's 6-5 at 7 to 10 in this year's draft. But again, that could or pull the other way. No, of course. So if I have to pick between.
Starting point is 01:10:04 I know. I want that. I want that option. And this is the choice that they're making right now. You're either chasing a playoffs spot and you're now three back of a team I'd argue that has a better roster. And you've got a tougher schedule. You'll have plenty of clarity before the deadline. I agree. I hope so.
Starting point is 01:10:20 I agree. I don't. This road trip. Honestly, maybe it's just the taste that's left on our mouth from that game the other night. It's actually a great. If they went on a skid, it would be very helpful long term as much as they would hate it. Either way. It's great because you're playing the best,
Starting point is 01:10:37 and these are the teams you're going to have to beat. If you do make the playoffs, prove whether you can or not. Because there's no sense getting in, and like Darrell said, wasting two weeks of your life. Look what our boy did. Huska's nightmare? Maybe a... It's a touch dramatic.
Starting point is 01:10:59 It's a little dramatic, but I'd... The mini-gontlet run. Huska's nightmare! So there's the sharks prior. too. Yep. But and you've already seen how you fared against Washington, Toronto, loss and Colorado. Lost. That's just it. You're playing against some of the stars. Yeah, but man, we could elevate and how would we be, you had your chance. You did, but it doesn't mean Dustin Wolf can't steal a game here or there. This is so great. How many games are there? They're
Starting point is 01:11:29 going to, there's six games. There's 12. They're going to win four one and one. Right there, boys. 100%. What are you supposed to do if they do to do that? You have, like, you have to support what you're, what they show you.
Starting point is 01:11:42 Yeah. And again, what they do there is one half of the formula. The other half is what's happened to Vancouver. Are they on a six game heater? If they drop five in a row, like you, the standings will tell Connie what to do on the seventh.
Starting point is 01:11:54 They're in by three points. They'll probably go out of defensemen. You need to draft a star later is what you need to do. Yeah. I mean, never count on that. What do we talk about? top 10 we got to have a top 10 you never know the top 10 and you know what you hit a home run again in the third fourth fifth round like you look what they did there right you you hit you nailed godreau yeah you didn't have a top three you got kachuk you had to a lesser exam you had manjapani you had some value that you got later in the draft yep develop the shit out of the guys you draft yeah and this is the biggest formula over anything else
Starting point is 01:12:34 It's not high picks load you up with talent. It's great draft and development. Look at the Washington Capitals and what they've been able to do, not picking high. It's incredible. Go and because I'm a lovely defenseman. Go draft, second, third, fourth, fifth round,
Starting point is 01:12:50 some quality defensemen and get overloaded with too many guys that can play and make some trades for pieces. Like, you've had a lot of duty to sell up these players. I wish I could ask that other question I had. It would just fit in so well right now. Well, then no Pinder Report. No, we got to do it. Dave Cameron's trending in Canada.
Starting point is 01:13:15 What's going on? Dave Cameron. I'm serious. Are they doing something to keep? Can I have a little time? Is the uncle of the guy that's doing some skating clinics for my kids team? I'm sorry about that. Talk nice.
Starting point is 01:13:25 I was like, watch your mouth. They were very hurtful. I didn't like the show. Before we get to the Pinda Report, reminder, do your question. No, tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:13:34 It'll work. Oh, you'll forget. He's got it written down. Daytower. Yeti. What does that special someone in your life want more than a Yeti? Than a good. This is for last year's gift.
Starting point is 01:13:50 What color is that? If you got some orange. That's the. Sabre yellow. King crab is what that's called. That's the Buffet slug yellow. Oh, so cold in there. but if we're hot, it'd be so hot.
Starting point is 01:14:05 Right, you got to show yours now. I did already. Camera wasn't there yet. Beautiful. It's very bright. Yeller. Crave the cold. Extend your ice time with hard hitting gear that's built to honor the toughest sport on earth.
Starting point is 01:14:17 Hashtag crave the cold. Hashtag build for the wild. I'm feeling left out. I got my home stainless steel. I know it's over there. We can see it. The Rambler. There it is.
Starting point is 01:14:25 Hey, Rambler. YETI.C.A. They got the barware. They've got the Camino Carriol tote bag. It's nice coolers. I kind of want one of the small ones. Really? You know, like when you're going over to, hey, we're having some people over.
Starting point is 01:14:40 Just going to pop in. I don't need 24 beer. I don't even need 15. I'm just going to throw a few beer in with some ice. Head over. I know it's hard for you to that. I'm talking to the wrong guy, Pender. I don't care.
Starting point is 01:14:54 Maybe I just, less is more. A six pack, eight, you know? Yeah. Mom's going to throw some spritzers or a bottle of wine or something in there. That red one? over there, too big for you. Too big for that. No, no. For those purposes, that's a nice thing. They got some. They got the carry of the handles. It's got the wheels on it. We're going to the lake. How are we going to get this big heavy cooler out to where we've put up our spot?
Starting point is 01:15:20 We're going to roll it down to the end of the dock and it's wheels. Genius. Yeddi.orgia. Built for the wild. Last question. No, tomorrow. It's too, it's way too late. Look at the time. You're going to give me shit right away. Oh, you're dragging it out again. You got a lot written down there. Look. He's got a lot.
Starting point is 01:15:43 Oh, I don't even know if that's a thing. We do have to do that. Yeah. And that. Got to do that. And right now, that one right there, retro. Why does he written potty down in all caps? Have you done that?
Starting point is 01:15:58 Tinkle. I did that before the show started. You were at Village Honda today. I was. How was going up there? Oh, it's just jumping up. Positive vibes, eh? Yeah, it was good.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Did you talk about the calves? He was at a meeting offsite. Yeah. But we chatted on the phone on the way up. He's doing great. He's elated Thursday night, cabs. We'll have more on that in the moment. New in-stock inventory on the ground.
Starting point is 01:16:23 As always, new vehicle pricing is MSRP. And you know what that stands for. M-ZERP. Meserp is right. Major sexy Ryan Pindon, that's what it stands for. Oh. Gross. Ryan Pinda
Starting point is 01:16:37 Ryan Pinda I think it's a manufacturer's Suggest the retail price Hey guys The Flames are Not playing for another Sunburned Two weeks there
Starting point is 01:16:52 Hammering water and Advil Poolside Mix in a water boys Hustland on vacation Is his kid plays He's got three kids I believe he doesn't not He left
Starting point is 01:17:04 Two daughters I don't know exactly. Anyway, we'll stop guessing at personal life family members reprying again. Here are the projected full season totals with the Calgary Flames at the Four Nations break.
Starting point is 01:17:18 Hubert, I thought you heard. I feel like 60 points was kind of our over under for happiness. At least it's in the neighborhood. 31 would be a career high. He's done 30 twice. 65. Nasm,
Starting point is 01:17:34 looking like he'll, be too shy of 30. Again, projections. Last year he finished in the stink hole. He was 29. Oh, gosh. It's close. Coronado, that's a pretty darn good. First NHL season. He's getting 25. I think so, too. He's been great.
Starting point is 01:17:50 Weigs, okay, down from his 20 last year. No kidding. 50 point D. That'll take that. Come on with you. Conner's area, the game's played are going to be misleading here because he's missed a bunch of time. I'd expect he'd be ready to come back. If not, at the end of the Four Nations break, soon after. He's been skating
Starting point is 01:18:05 for a bit already. Depends on his vitamin D. Come on back, son. He's going to be down in the tropics, I hope, getting that vitamin D. Is he allowed? I don't know, rat. He's not healthy.
Starting point is 01:18:14 He didn't play before the break. He didn't allow to rehab on a beach. I don't know. Coleman, 18, 25, 43. That's a respectable total. Last year we knew was the outlier, lovely 30 goal year. That's your pin number for your ATM.
Starting point is 01:18:30 Whoops. Sharon Govich, John Pasteen 19, Backland. That's a very backer. Oakland S season, although the assists a little lower. He's been fighting at the last few weeks. He needs a break. Somebody said he might be fighting off.
Starting point is 01:18:42 Old age. Injure. That too. For the time. Syatica. Rasmus. Yeah, that's not actually a big of total as I thought of. Yeah. Nine million, huh?
Starting point is 01:18:53 Healthy scratch. Team Sweden. You know what the problem is. Marty. Four goals. Your horse shit, Pospasal. Get going. I'm ready to put him back on the wing. We started it at center.
Starting point is 01:19:05 he's just a horse bleep yep okay I know he's your favorite player he was I don't know we need an update I feel like Zary's overpassed him, he yelled at him about his penalties
Starting point is 01:19:20 he's rattling like a sissy yeah it's nice what else do we got on the flames would you trade pospousal I mean if you're getting something better than I'm back hell yeah well thanks no but I mean like what are we talking about Yeah, of course he's not untouchable at all.
Starting point is 01:19:36 Would you bet $5 right there? Well, if I won 10. Yeah, hell yeah. Okay. Would you bet $5 on what? The moon falling into the earth tomorrow? No, I'm not doing it. It's something a little more problem.
Starting point is 01:19:47 Would you trade possible? If I got something better back, hell yeah. Was the answer. That's how you should approach all trades. Thanks, Ryan. You're welcome. Win them all.
Starting point is 01:19:58 Back to me. That's how easy it is. These dumb frigging GMs. Seriously. Just win your trades. Just get a draft rate. players than the one you traded. And by the way, score more goals
Starting point is 01:20:09 than the other team in games. It's not that hard, idiot. When you're on the podium at the draft, they don't do that anymore. Just take the better players. They don't do that anymore. Do you just do you send out a fax with all the players that the other teams aren't allowed to draft? Hey, we're taking these guys.
Starting point is 01:20:25 Yeah. Yeah. Montreal used to do that with the first guy in Quebec, Toronto with the first guy in Ontario. Yeah. We've been in the time machine. It turns out these players are going to be very good. We're taking Johnny Goddrow second overall. Whoa, geez. Regardless of where you were intending on taking these players,
Starting point is 01:20:41 keep your hands off. Let's get to the lines that Rhett was yelling about yesterday. Four Nations lines. It's the freaking Pindy report and you had nothing. Stay tuned for the Warner Report. See how chocka block that is. Too much work. Did we have this?
Starting point is 01:21:01 This was yesterday's lines. But again, I didn't want to leave them out and get yelled. that. Really what we're talking about is two to three of the best players on planet Earth. I think if you didn't backfill with guys jumping off buildings onto lap posts, you'd take less heat for it, but, you know, maybe. No lamp post. No guarantee.
Starting point is 01:21:23 Do what you want. Let's get to the blue line. What have we got? Jacko, come on. Keep going here. Come on, Jack. Yeah, we've seen this already. Jack.
Starting point is 01:21:29 Dowdy into the mess. Who's the extras? Sanheim Kine Kine. connect me i've never heard of him both flyers and one hitman player uh and of course uh de kebby matumb i don't know how to work this are you sure it's not stealing your info bittany boop someone told him a guy yeah right this is a uh ontario's calling oh look ontario's calling dog is it you dug for it uh let's get to the next team oh no sorry we got this first
Starting point is 01:22:05 Yeah. Here's the story on Canada, fellas. If the goaltending is great, we won't say a word. If it's not, three guys below NHL average, and we get it. This is not the full complete pitcher. This is not taking environments into perspective. But Logan Thompson is having an incredible year, the best year by a Canadian goalie. He was not invited. Your head would pop off your frame if they had Cam Talbot.
Starting point is 01:22:30 Yeah, I probably would. Even Darcy Kemper, who's at a great player. It would. Yeah. Oh, what am I wrong? What is happening? They're not a shut up. I can't even hear it. Can you turn the turn on?
Starting point is 01:22:42 Just turn on. It's because you have no volume on. Yeah, just turn it on sound. Oh, no, because it's it plugs my ears. Sounds like some like alien and hear it through the. Jack, no one needs your opinion on anything. You just shove off. I didn't mind him jumping in.
Starting point is 01:22:55 They're going to be honest. Yeah. Shove off. Shove off. Well, yeah, doesn't that say mute? Keep going, right? Is there, put on the other side. Did he press the flute button or the mute button?
Starting point is 01:23:07 No, no, I see what you. Toggle? Toggle. This is the anti-information button. Right. That's the Trump button. Let's go to the American team, Rhett. The first 50 states built a team.
Starting point is 01:23:25 Let's have a look at it. Connor, I could chuck. Imagine if they had one more state, how good they'd be. Gensel Matthews, Hughes. They could take Mexico. Boldie Miller Kachuk. Nelson Chowcheck Larkin. This three nations faceoff is
Starting point is 01:23:40 wicked. This is not going to be good at all. Very one-sided. Why do the United States of Canada get 26 guys? That's not fair. You're not allowed. The blue line's interesting because they doesn't have Quinn Hughes. They substituted young Jake Sanderson. Why do you have some white jerseys and some blue?
Starting point is 01:23:57 The white guys are the ones that pick their nose. That's Slavin-Worinski, Hanifin, and Faber. Jack, why do they have? You think I made these? I don't know. Fox and Maccaboy. I don't know why. I think of that I'm bad ass. Come on, Frank. Hey, he sucks.
Starting point is 01:24:14 Don't pick their nose in white. I don't know. They're decent. No good? You don't like that decor. Flashback. He doesn't like that decor. And I'm not, I just want you to talk to me. I'm just running my mouth. Okay. We'll move to the next team. Quinn Hughes.
Starting point is 01:24:29 Hughes would be their best. He's been unbelievable this year. They're going to miss him for sure. The goalies are very, very, very good. it'll be Helibuck's net to lose and there'll be, you know, a swayman and a nottinger behind him, very deep in net. Powerplay one. We showed you Canada's yesterday. What was it? Crosby, Reinhart, McDavid, MacGinnon, McCar.
Starting point is 01:24:49 This one's pretty good too. Adam Fox on the point. Matthews Hughes, Eichel down the middle and Kachuk is the net front. It's going to be a good game with it. That's not nuclear. It's quite good. Yeah, they can they go new? It's atomic, but it's not new.
Starting point is 01:25:04 It's atomic, but not new. clear. I don't know the difference. I'm hoping Rhett does. That's because he didn't go to school, right? Clearly he does. You went to broadcast in school. I went to the school a hard knock. When did you graduate? Still in it. You don't graduate from that one.
Starting point is 01:25:19 That's my problem. I stalled out. You're still learning. Sweden. Beautiful women. Yeah. And some people have said. Yeah. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:25:29 Here's the thing. Here's the thing. Beautiful jerseys. A lot of good players. Their centers are having shitty years. Patterson, Zabinajack, Ericson, Eck, and Lindholm. It's the, oh, there's not enough pickled herring in this city for me. Eat my shit.
Starting point is 01:25:49 Shee. You guys, hard on the sweets. Jack, and why is the Red's team? Rickard Raquel. Ricky Racks. His jersey backwards. They don't know what number he's going to wear. They're showing you the trade Crohners.
Starting point is 01:26:00 Maybe he's just number three. That's how many coroners he's got. Ricky Racks. What number is he, Jack? You're big Ricky Rack's. A terrible, terrible display of professionalism, you guys. He showed up late, didn't he? He showed up late.
Starting point is 01:26:13 He got stabbed in for someone? Yeah, sure. So it's hard to give him his name and number. You got his name right there. So it goes on the bag. This is daily face off. Don't yell at us. Yellow at Frank.
Starting point is 01:26:23 These half-ass people that were associated with. I know. If only they had Rhett's work ethic, we'd have the name and the number. Drunken Montreal. Can't get your work done. The blue line had been Brodine, Dahlene, Anderson, maybe. Foresling skating there today and then Ekholm-Carlson third pair.
Starting point is 01:26:40 That's a tidy third pair when you can throw. We know Anderson pretty well, guys. He'll be some sour if he's not playing. I would think he was like to play a proud guy. Hey, Rasmus, go have some hot dogs in the morning skate. No, you can, you know what, Ross, you can stay out for a little bit. What? I could have been in Cabo with my boys.
Starting point is 01:27:05 All the guys that are. playing tonight, you're going to catch first bus back to the hotel. First bus is leaving. If you and Sven want to hang out and get some extra laps in that, that'd be good. Who's coaching this team before I get behind them? That's a good question. Oh, you don't even know?
Starting point is 01:27:21 I could guess, but I don't know. No. The guy that was highly toted, that was going to come over. Is it only Yokinan? It sure is it. Yeah, good try. Gus is hurt. Well, so this, yeah. This is now back.
Starting point is 01:27:36 Oh, sorry. Yeah, since we screenshot it, they've skated. Pay attention. Or Frank's not paying attention because he's hammered at Camusutra right now. Philip Gustafin will likely get the nod to start. Olmach said they also have UPL, who you told us was very good. He was very good for like three months. Yeah, goal he said.
Starting point is 01:27:53 Finland, this is where it gets a little more lackluster. They've been destroyed by injuries. Four groups pretty nice. Barkov, Ahlo, Hinson, Lundell down the middle, don't mind. That's he beaking me about my goaltender takes. That's correct. Because you were beaking me online. We all have back.
Starting point is 01:28:06 They're goalies. Defense. Who are these people? Who are these people? It's a lot of. Mr. Linen couldn't go. Erho Vakinen is there.
Starting point is 01:28:22 Nico Mikula's going to play big minutes. Henry Yoki Haru is in the top four. And Yosea Vaki, he's the top four. Whose team is this? Suomi. You're screwed. that's my team yeah I'm screwed uh here's what they're playing for dean sorry Wilson
Starting point is 01:28:43 lincoln are you ready for this get ready to feast your eyes get up all the players want it's work related sure it is here it is so is my ta-d-tah-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-oh the unnamed trophy that says champion on the bottom and four nations face off on the side what soccer team or f-1 race crew is going to win that where did they Who did they buy this off of Uncajiji? It's fine. Listen. Of all the things we want to take a run at.
Starting point is 01:29:13 That's fine. It's fine. You can drink out of it. You know, it wasn't fine. Was that trumpet inside the flower vase that they had of the old world cup. That was weird.
Starting point is 01:29:20 That was awful. That was a bad one. That's not bad. It's a cup. Trumpet inside a vase. What are we doing, guys? It's hockey. Come on.
Starting point is 01:29:29 No. Come on. Here's the rink, this is one thing. I know you've been really hammering for. Phyland in Canada, cross ice on one side. It's going to be Sweden, USA and the other corner.
Starting point is 01:29:40 And then the benches, I'm not quite sure. I think so the right of your zone, but it's going to be, I can't wait. Montreal and Boston. Pay attention. Goodness. Is that of the big O? Where are they going to? Yes.
Starting point is 01:29:52 Huge seating capacity. Then they go down to, uh, what is it? Uh, Macs, Foxborough. Sorry, you're offside. I don't know. Um, sorry. Am I saying? What?
Starting point is 01:30:04 Huh? That wasn't a whistle for our game. Idiot. Okay. Anyway, we're all very excited. All of a sudden, I am looking forward to this. That changes by. Did you not know? In perspective entirely. No. Should have paid attention.
Starting point is 01:30:16 Didn't know. Sorry. Boy, you know what one thing that we can count on? If Canada doesn't have a great tournament, Team Canada is brass, I'll get a lot of slack. They're not going to be. It's true. Yeah. And so maybe getting out in front of something a bit here.
Starting point is 01:30:32 If we're prepared to give anyone the benefit of the doubt. It's hockey Canada. Yeah. Well, with their slush. funds and sexual misconduct cover-ups and Dave Cameron's idiotic roster selection. And yeah, after two straight quarterfinal, that's going to be. I wanted to rip. I wanted to put my name in as soon as I saw it.
Starting point is 01:30:50 All they do, they've got a full-time GM for the POE sport and zipping around, having ring around the globe, rank burgers, PJs, company card, steak dinners, Red House is this is a good boondoggle job of all time. How are you not in on this? This is like being the. president or the boss of the union okay for the ioc or fief yes let's hiring a full-time GM and a VP of hockey ops like who's firing you you've got this for decades you gotta win some goals yeah well how hard is it shouldn't be players i mean if you take
Starting point is 01:31:25 them you've got them if you leave them at home you don't have them dave cameron that's not a player man he's the idiot what a gig yeah i should see why dave cameron's trending before i run him publicly here it won't matter you'll run him anyway no what if he's passed then we'll say sorry um that would be awkward it would be very awkward which is hurtful it's hurtful patrick lini slowed down have you noticed yeah so it's yeah i mean the team has for sure but so here's the thing fortnight season two before it was released 12 goals 18 points of 24 games pretty good like three quarters of pointing you since the season was released no points in five jack what the hell's fortnight what's he doing here he's gaming is he gaming he's not allowed to game he's allowed to game no he's not
Starting point is 01:32:16 he's not allowed to game he's had an issue with it i would agree as an issue with it yeah in fact people know his username and you can like go look at his stats oh no so season six of fortnight started on the 27 since then he's played 269 matches which rounds out to about 112 hours for five hours a day if he won every single game here's the thing right if you don't win you're out of it and you can go start a new game or whatever. You don't have to hang around to the end. The stats show that in the 145 of these games, 54%, he was outside of the top 25%.
Starting point is 01:32:46 If you played Fortnite, you know by closing the second circle, they're typically 30, 40 people left. So the game's down to the top 30, 40% of the players of the five-minute mark. Very safe to say 54% of those matches took less than 10 minutes. Oh. So if you take the absolute upper limit, he played 145 games of 10 minutes or less, 42 wins of the most at 25 minutes each.
Starting point is 01:33:05 And if the remaining 82 games are right in the middle of 15 minutes, we'd have 62 hours in the past 22 days or an average of two hours and 45 minutes per game at most. Do we have a problem with Patrick Line, spending two hours and 45 minutes a day playing for you? But we don't have Rickel's number. Do we? Yeah, you want some. We've got that. Yeah, that's a lot.
Starting point is 01:33:32 I never, my kids have played it. I have no idea even what it is. I've seen it. It was one of those games. Why are you playing? It looks like, are we in the 80s? The graphics are terrible? I don't know what you're doing.
Starting point is 01:33:45 Yeah, it wasn't really a question on Fortnite. It was more of a pat-line. But this is very different. This is not what guys did in the NHL when you were in your late 20s, right? I just, I thought he went to rehab for this. For video games? I'm not joking.
Starting point is 01:34:02 I don't know. It was player assistance. They don't say. Maybe in the old alumni group chat, they say. I don't know. It's a lot of Fortnite, Jack, or is it? It's five games he didn't score too, so. Zero points, five games.
Starting point is 01:34:20 Yeah. Open for Patrick. I feel like you should be able to. That is the reason. You should be able to recognize. Yeah. Because Kyler's thing is Call a Duty, right? Yeah, he's in the Cod, big time.
Starting point is 01:34:32 Like that's amazing gameplay. Fortnite is designed to get you hooked. Suck you in? Yes. Really? I release a new map. One. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 01:34:41 I've never done this map. I've got to explore it. We should play Vids someday. No. the brain power that we have would get well that but I mean that's what we'll do instead of the show we'll just hey welcome to the show it's I was thinking about that the other day
Starting point is 01:34:55 just play video games we just start streaming games for two hours could play Nintendo 64 I'd play bond you can get rich doing that not like us set it up Jack can we get Mario card 64 in for tomorrow please think the bosses would pay us
Starting point is 01:35:10 and we could oh viewership would be way up we'd have to pay us more Pass more. It's twice you front of bosses. It's good to have bosses to bitch you. You don't want to.
Starting point is 01:35:20 Jack, if there's no boss, then we're the boss and then we're failing. Tony Danza. It's somebody to. Angela. Jack.
Starting point is 01:35:31 Brett. Boss. Are we allowed to play video games? No, no. Ask Angela. Tony Danza. Jack. Now can we play it?
Starting point is 01:35:42 All right. We got some soccer tomorrow night. Now Thursday. night. We're still not. They're down in Mexico City. They're getting acclimatized to the altitude, Dino. I don't know if you know, then Mexico City is very high.
Starting point is 01:35:55 Is it? Oh, yes, very much so. We're very high. We're high here, though. Well, you especially. Oh, I don't know. I give it all the time. Do you give that up?
Starting point is 01:36:03 Leg two. Leg two. I don't like the leg. So what do we do? It's goals. It is a total score of the two games combined, one that was played in Victoria, the Cavs on 2 to 1, and the score of the game they'll play Mexico City on Thursday night.
Starting point is 01:36:17 Or just kick. So as good as that win felt, it could, you shit yourself here. Well, what would really suck is if Mexico scored one and you did not score one nil, you're like, oh, it's a two, two, tough. That's right. But guess what the tie break is? Son of a bitch. Away goals, you dirty pricks.
Starting point is 01:36:32 One of the grossest, oldest, dumbest rules in soccer, they still got kicking rounds. That's why I don't cheer for, to get into the foot. They're going to have to score first and set the tone here. That's what I'm saying. Why don't you just win? Johnny soccer starts changing. Johnny or John Tommy. Johnny Wilden Jr.
Starting point is 01:36:48 You think it like that, eh? You think old J.W. You think Jim Wilden saying it like that? J.W.J. Jami Wilden Jr. Turn to ask you. Get going. If Rhett wants to get going, he's going to hate this.
Starting point is 01:37:06 Because we got a video of Rhett in this, this path behind his house. It was so mucky. He was so much. It's in your back lane. Yeah. Reds. What that?
Starting point is 01:37:21 Okay. Okay. What's the guy? Yeah, hold on the grass. Oh, now, fuck. You're in the case. We don't want ice this. This better?
Starting point is 01:37:42 Right, once you get up in the grass, it'll be better. This guy's an asshole. Get out of the mud. Get up in the ground. Oh, now you're losing your shoe. He's a grudic for him to fall on his sling. Please fall. Oh, figures here.
Starting point is 01:37:54 Come on now. Get in the grass. grass you get in the grass hang on to the branch of a tree no stay there for sure get in the grass you dummy looks like he's overdressed too it can't be that cool he's drunk drunk oh oh well yeah yeah one too well don't go down there for sure It's way too long. There's both. Hang on my back. Listen to Jack and Ryan loud.
Starting point is 01:38:39 Listen to them laugh. It's so dumb. Hey, Jack. Do you hear yourself? I do. Yeah, it's funny. He-hoo.
Starting point is 01:38:47 I mean, is the comments? Are they laughing? I don't know. There's a wall in there. Kate said L-O-L. Yeah. Well, there you go.
Starting point is 01:38:58 And there's a win there, obviously. Everyone's laughing. Let's get to Philly, where we know only good things have happened for the last two days. They are like it. Oh, geez. What are we doing? Jeez. All right, point it up.
Starting point is 01:39:17 That's better. Ella's careful. Pirates and boots. It's a great American combination, isn't it? They need gloves. Yeah, well, Jason Pierre Paul should have. Yeah. Geez.
Starting point is 01:39:33 Oh, yeah, that's riding the top of the subway. That's not full-gated. That's not terribly safe. Imagine being a cop in Philly really. How many morons am I going to have to like tell the sober up to that? Because you can't arrest them all. There's too many. Look at all these idiots.
Starting point is 01:39:55 Oh, my. Jesus. I saw that one. Yes. Absolutely. Harnage. I think lost. Music.
Starting point is 01:40:14 A smile's. Roll the horse moves. Nice. The great success comes great response to the horn with tweaking. That's unbelievable. Jeez. Cettle down. That's what you do at least. That's what you do at night.
Starting point is 01:40:40 1-20 a.m. Twitch. T-T-T-T. you're going to do last call to untwee can use to me? Oh no. Don't loot the bank. Oh, you jerks. Don't break stuff, guys.
Starting point is 01:41:01 Guys. Come on, guys. If you had a business down there, don't you think you'd have been smarter and maybe bored them up? Yeah. They're probably so used to it. Like, how different is that from any ordinary Sunday in Philly? Or Tuesday.
Starting point is 01:41:21 Got glass and shirt? I don't know. We got jack throw some other nonsense in there. We've got raccoon and ski lift, Ryan. Well, you know, it's four nations coming up. We're getting patriotic. This is how you intimidate the Americans if you see them. Okay.
Starting point is 01:41:35 In Montreal. Be coming one. We don't want to. Look this. Hey, take your raccoon for a walk. Ah, sherry looks kind of cute. That's what like, dark teeth.
Starting point is 01:41:51 Eliminate a garbage lid and less than teeth. It's cunning. That's the end of that video. See you next to inning. You're still and you're laughing at it, Jack. Yeah, that was. It's a raccoon and a raccoon in a street. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:10 What else do we got, Jack? Well, how do you beat that? You always want on a high note. It's going to touch to beat that. It's fair. Yeah. Oh, scale. Here we are.
Starting point is 01:42:19 This is a tough day with someone's out of here. is probably cold and call 911 what hell are they going to do please feel like you're going to get a refund even though they made you sign that huge waiver that's big page's log
Starting point is 01:42:40 dead what are you hopping off and what's the is 911 going to do at the top of the ski hill I called 911 oh great help Can you give us your address? Can you give us to your location? I think we're at the top of the mammoth chair.
Starting point is 01:43:03 The pole says number nine. Yeah. I'm sorry, sir. I have no idea what you're saying. Rumblefish. We're on Rumblefish. Ah. Well, we're close to being on, we're a jackaloupe or about 20 feet at top of
Starting point is 01:43:18 Rumblefish. It's a kitty corner. Is that like the worst luck ever for it to start? stop there and then that thing like explodes. Yes, it is, Jack. What is that? That would be some underwater pipes that they would use for snowmaking. Yeah, probably for making snow.
Starting point is 01:43:36 Don't you jump? That's not that far. That's what I was saying. How long do you give it? Yeah, but some people are real stupid, Dean. Yeah, it's true. You want to break both your legs or give it another 20? The education system.
Starting point is 01:43:47 It's true. Some people are really fucking stupid. Thank you. Is that it, Jack? that's it it's the two of you that was can't get that kind of stuff anywhere else tell us about village Honda Ryan great coffee great people
Starting point is 01:44:03 taking care of me in the body department getting a small some body work done use tweak small repair it's getting a tweak remember when I got winter tires on and they performed so well that at the first stoplight they saw the guy behind me ran into the back of my vehicle I do remember that's going to get sorted up to ice which is great thank you very much for that
Starting point is 01:44:23 They can do that for you. Yeah. Village Honda. It's the insurance people that are to run around. Weird. Village people are we're ready just as soon as they get their ass together. You want to do insurance. Well, then we don't have to do anything.
Starting point is 01:44:36 Scammers. Your dealership for life. Village honda.com. Wonder how Anthony feels about this road goal. B. Anthony's full of confidence. He's down there. He's like red,
Starting point is 01:44:48 margaritas. And let's win. Why would we worry about losing? Yeah. Let's win. We beat them. beat them again just beat him again
Starting point is 01:44:55 give us goals who cares we got lots of those yeah just beat him again tell uh Jami Jami
Starting point is 01:45:03 Jami wield and tunier that he should just win yeah Rhett says just win I'll send that now and if he's going to trade somebody get somebody better back yes that's important
Starting point is 01:45:15 yeah service credit union wants you to know about the big share contest it's on now it's in full swing rolling right through until the end of April, April 30th, 2025 is when the contest ends. Skill test required, we have confidence in you. For rules, learn more, service.ca slash win.
Starting point is 01:45:35 So what is it? It's the big share contest, chance to win a million, but you need to be a customer. You need to be at service credit union. Maybe move your account over. You start saving money, and that's the key, is it's not just about getting business or maintaining business. It's about you saving money. Being smart with your dollars. Every $500 save gives you five entries into the Big Share contest.
Starting point is 01:45:58 You can double up your entries when you invest in a registered account like a TFSA or an RSP, get into a high yield savings account that's going to fast track those savings, invest in a GIC, many different ways to bump up those entries and potentially become $1 million richer with the Big Share Contest and Service Credit Union. Service.c.c.w.win is the website for that. Like that slash win part. It's just good. I would like Jack to sign up so that he could pay for the pizza finally.
Starting point is 01:46:31 Yeah, stop blowing his money on Curlchard Classic tickets. I was going to buy pizza the other day. Are we eating today? Are we going to team lunch today? No. No. Friday. You're sick.
Starting point is 01:46:44 Friday? I got a big one Thursday. Oh, yeah. He'll be sick. Thursday. Thursday's workout. Talking on wood. I'm not going to be here tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:46:55 I feel great. Sure you do. But not today? You're sick. Why not today? We're all here. We have, because you're sick.
Starting point is 01:47:04 Because you're sick. I've sat beside you long enough. Let's wrap it up. I feel great. I'll do it. No, not that'll do it. Could do it if you get going.
Starting point is 01:47:16 Yeah, I've been holding things up. Sorry. Yeah, well, once the raccoon thing happened, we should get coming in there. Four nation to start tomorrow's. We got to use all. all the intimidating tire we have. Bet 365.
Starting point is 01:47:29 Oh, for God, sorry. What'd you have, Dean? I do have Canada. Oh, so I like them a lot. What are the odds in that? Bet 365, world's largest sports betting platform. Get that account open if you don't have one. It's super easy to do.
Starting point is 01:47:44 And when you do sign up, use the promo code nation. Get a little bit of, you know, you know, kind of, yeah. It's one of those things. Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at bet 365. Plus 140. for the Canadians who win the tournament. I don't have a can't.
Starting point is 01:47:56 50 for the Americans. Okay. Jacks. And as the leading score of the tournament, Connor David paying plus 650. So you're telling me he's going to have better line mates. And he's already the best player in the world. And he's going to get plus 650 to have the most points of the end of the tournament.
Starting point is 01:48:14 What are they thinking here? What's the? Oh, there's a lot of guys that could do it. And some teams have high scoring games. Some teams that want to play lower scoring. But he's McKinnon is behind them. Isn't that big number? A little sprinkle there.
Starting point is 01:48:28 Who's the goaltender for the Swedes? Gustafsson will likely start. It could be Olmart, but I think it's definitely going to be Gustafson. Because they have the over under set at six. I've got, yesterday I took Camden minus one and a half. Yeah. It's actually the, once we get around the hole, they can be doing this better and that better. And I wish it was this time of year.
Starting point is 01:48:48 And why don't they have it here? And why isn't this kind of here? I think we're going to have good hockey. Well, really hopeful. If we don't, it's going to suck. I love hockey. And that's the only game tomorrow. Yes, and the Americans and Finns Thursday.
Starting point is 01:49:00 Double header on Saturday, Monday, final games, and the final on Thursday. It's quick. And I think teams come back to skate a week today. Oh, I'd be dreading that. So it's the 18th of I'm correct. I mean, I got to go play in the NHL. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:19 I'm so glad it's the offseason now. I play so much hockey and now the intensity of this tournament. It's going to be nice to get a what? Gosh, everyone told me. be too hot in Mexico over the off season. This is great. What? We're not in the off season? I didn't know you could put on 10 pounds in two days. It's awesome work. 10. This damn all you can eat.
Starting point is 01:49:39 I know. I know. It's not end the show without telling you about the super chat. During the course of the program in the YouTube chat, a little cash donation will go directly to the youth centers of Calgary. Plus, we will show your message, question, thought on the show. have a few coming in today. Stu, five bucks. The new Rhett, nice look, buddy. Give us a turn. Give us a turn. Give us a spin.
Starting point is 01:50:05 Now, he's saying mullet, we don't know what's up under that. It could all be one like that. I got a lot of float. Yeah. Oh, man. Yeah, it's not terribly mullet. It's not a mullet, though. No. It is longer in the back than it is at the front.
Starting point is 01:50:21 I feel like you're kind of through when people, because I can't grow hair, at least not on my head. Um, the awkward stage where it's kind of, it's, it's longer than it's, it's, you're past that. It's long. You're into it. I'd buy, right. Congratulations.
Starting point is 01:50:36 Well, I got it cut in December and I hadn't cut it. Yeah. Since Kipper's thing. Do you leather jacket? God. You lost it. Great. God.
Starting point is 01:50:46 God, you look good. This is your year. Well, that was last year. You're the mullet. 269 for Eric. Again with the 269. That's a little chintz. see Eric.
Starting point is 01:50:58 Easy dub for Canada. Let's go. Boys. It's nothing easy in this world. Eric, I guess he's talking about that game tomorrow. Yeah, I think so.
Starting point is 01:51:07 Yeah, that's some four nations excitement. Facing off. Yeah. We're excited for it. Oh. Ho! Guys,
Starting point is 01:51:18 we better order in some food because we're going to be here for a bit. Unbiased Homer came through with a $50 bill. 50. All right. Let's talk trades today, fellas. Okay. Flames aren't bottoming out with this ownership.
Starting point is 01:51:30 Cadry plus more for Natchez. Coleman goes home plus more for Stankovan. Texas guy. Bowen Byram. These guys help them be good in a few years instead of five to ten like the future or picks. These guys help them be good in a few years instead of five to ten years. Five to ten years like the futures.
Starting point is 01:51:54 I don't think you're getting Nacious for Godry. No, you're. certainly aren't. The plus more in brackets would be a lot, a lot, a lot more. Yeah, I feel like Colorado is a happy with him right now. Thank Coven doesn't seem. I don't really want to do that. How much plus more do you have? Yeah. Yeah, that you need a lot more. These would all really be good flames trades. Because to Ryan's point, they'd be getting better players back than who they're trading away. Give a guy away and someone you get back is better. Do that deal. I like it. This Homer guys on to things. Yeah. We'll let Connie know. Actually, you know what?
Starting point is 01:52:28 Cancel lunch. This is a quick chat. Yeah. There's not a lot. Jack, unordered those pizzas. I don't want to be. It's a $50 deal here.
Starting point is 01:52:38 I came through. He's a friend of the show. He did. He did. We appreciate it. And I don't want to get too deep into it because I was thinking as we were talking about the whole, you know, here's how you get good. You get bottom out high picks, stars that whole thing.
Starting point is 01:52:52 He's saying go get young players rather than first rounders. And again, I feel like I'm pinning this on you. But you have also been, we brought up players and even going back to this trade they made with Philadelphia. Guys that are 25 years old right now. No, it's not true. I think Zegers is a unique spot because his contract is up pretty quick and he's already getting paid. A guy like cousins, for example, is locked in for like, what, seven more years?
Starting point is 01:53:19 It's going to be cheap. He won't be cheapest chips. They'll probably ask for first plus someone like Zaria Coronado. No, it's cost, cost salary. Yeah, it's been seven plus. for another 70 plus years. Some of your pittance. Yeah, look, I think,
Starting point is 01:53:35 unless he can't play. You absolutely want to keep adding guys that are young and heading into their prime. But what if they aren't good? Then, yeah, same with the draft picks. You want the good ones. Right. That's the whole rub here.
Starting point is 01:53:49 So if you don't know how to evaluate talent, it really doesn't matter of the path. The point here is, is you would have a better idea about guys like Bowen Byram or Dylan cousins that you would. I don't really have any idea where Trevor Zieg, or Dylan Cousins are going to be in three years, to be fair. Do some homework.
Starting point is 01:54:05 Well, I mean, are the, is it a slam dunk that they return to their, the form of 21 year old versions of themselves or 20 year old versions? I don't know. Is it, are they going to be way better? I don't know. Like, it's, it's just weird when you see a guy in that age and go backwards. That's probably the only reason guys would be available anyway. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:54:22 You're only going to see probably distressed assets if they're under 25 and really high skill guys on the market. everyone else is just like nope we're keeping them thanks though yeah you gotta go find the diamonds in the rub go find a guy that needs uh neck surgery go get him shine bright like a diamond that's what you need those guys to do is that it anymore jack jack give us a super chat he's sleeping he is god he's no that's it's going on over there all right we've a guest what do you mean we have a broadcasting student coming in today to get some work done oh is that right yeah so there's no one I want to see.
Starting point is 01:55:02 No one that you know, I don't think. No. It doesn't mean a wonderful interaction. So thank you to everybody for jumping in the super chat today. I hope we gave $50 worth there. I didn't mean to be cheap. You know what? Maybe it's the kids.
Starting point is 01:55:19 That's why he said. Like the Stankovin thing. I think he'd be one of the most. If you go back to the Tanev deal, it'd be great to get him there. You'd love to, but I understand them not having any interest in moving Stankov. I feel like they know. what they've got. Yeah, they like him a lot and he's cheap still. And they really
Starting point is 01:55:35 could use a guy at the time like Tanev. Coleman, he is from there. I'm not sure where he would play on that team. Probably a third line checking winger like he has been his whole career. Maybe like, maybe Stankovin. You know what? Unbiased Homer?
Starting point is 01:55:53 Just keep those fingers crossed. Yeah, I mean, a gauntlet run to run, go the right way for you. Then, I don't know if we're getting those guys that you named, but there might be trades. Yeah. Trades are fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:56:07 Could get some more young guys. Youth. Yutes. Fairbys and frosts. The Utah youths. Keep picking them up. The F troop. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:56:20 I'm like somewhat better. Those two are deads. Didn't take long, did it? That'll probably, before he says something else. No. I'm talking. Look, I forgot.
Starting point is 01:56:32 did the Pinder. We had lots of time for that question. No, tomorrow. I'm biased to Homer. Tomorrow I got a question. We'll have noodles, I guess. Should check in. He's probably vacationing.
Starting point is 01:56:45 He might be, yeah, hammered right up. Banana hammock on a beach somewhere. Yeah, yeah. You'd be a fun guy to go to a all inclusive with. Just chatting up everyone. It's like, but he doesn't shut up. I can't. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:56:59 That's a table at the back red. It's perfect. I know that conceded. I saw the noodleer on a YouTube clip the other day. Really? Yeah. Useful. In his flames gear.
Starting point is 01:57:12 Oh, really? Was he doing a demo or something? Or what was he doing? No, it's from years ago when he was a flame. Oh, so he was just being interviewed? I see. When you said it was useful, I thought maybe he was giving some tips. Youthful.
Starting point is 01:57:26 Youthful. Youthful. Youthful. I got to go get my, uh, I got to go over the hearing loss clinic and get my headphones. Mine are clearly inferior to yours. Well, Jack, good job today, bud. Well done.
Starting point is 01:57:40 Should we talk about Frank's show? Yep. Tell us about Frank's show, Jack. Go get it. Here's the graphic. Oh. Oh, the graphic. Here's the graphic.
Starting point is 01:57:51 Here's the graphic. What time's the show on, Jack? 10 a.m. Mountain. Beautiful. Love that. Every weekday. Love it. February 20th.
Starting point is 01:58:01 February 10th to 20th. What year would you say it is? 2025. That's great. Starting point is 01:58:52 even a little chaos because let's be real it's international hockey. Daily Faceoff Live on location from Four Nations February 10 to 20th. I'm guessing presented by Bet365 and J.P. Wisers. Good guess. Who is calling me from Lethbridge? Don't you know I'm doing a hugely popular...
Starting point is 01:59:21 And you're from Lethbridge. Don't... It's bullshit. That's what that is. Bridge. You're talking about Lethbridge or that Frank show? I don't know. The bridge. Got it.
Starting point is 01:59:34 Great read Dean thanks yeah that's why I've got any yet it's the pros the 11th and it's started on the 10th and it's a weekday I bet you to do one today at least they get the weekend so yeah because there's no games on the weekends there's two on Saturday oh what that would seem like a real day to do one yeah especially since you'll probably know the elimination scenarios for Monday that is some barn burner work ethic that is what we call a boondoggle that that is some real they're taking their cues I like that it's the Bs the Bs BBWE, the barn burner work. Yeah. See the impact that we've had.
Starting point is 02:00:07 Yeah, it's really, uh, it's the weekend and a lot of people are off. So they would have time to watch the context. Two games. They're not at work. Two games. Canada, US. Oh, baby.
Starting point is 02:00:18 Ah, fuck it. See you Monday. See you, buddies.
