It's a delight. It's stunning.

Probably didn't need that. Could have just stuck with one of the four bottles of water in the backpack that was on my shoulders. Yeah. And it's probably a relaxing vacation that you go on, right? Babrovsky was great. There's a little kind of, I mean, we saw it with the Oilers a couple nights ago. Just turnovers, giving up Pucks on four checks. There we go. So Sergei Birovsky, of course, is making $10 million. Yes, that's right. And up until now, it was widely considered maybe one of the worst deals in the National Hockey League. But all of a sudden, now, Sergey Bavrovsky, he's allowed four goals on 73 shots, a 945 save percentage. He was left for dead. Now he's back. He might be a consmite candidate if they win.

what are goalies? Is there a better case of goalie voodoo than what we've seen with Bobrovsky because they brought in Alex Lyon. They had Spencer Knight. If Spencer Knight didn't have his off-ice stuff, he's gone through with the whatever you call it there, the player assistance program. And then Alex Lyon took over.

Started the series against Boston. And it was like, Brofsky is even on the team. And he has been unbelievable. Wild. And, you know, a 901. Hate the Leaves. 3.07 this year.

Like, not great. No. For two games, he's been exceptional against the Leafs. And again, in this tournament, if you can get a goalie red hot, you can get outchanced a lot and still win, like last night. I looked everywhere to find

an uncensored clip. We could play the censored clip, but it's not as fun. Somebody asked in the postgame scrum with Samsonoff, the Leaf Goalie last night, with how good Bobrovsky is playing at the other end of the ice, because he's been outstanding. Does that give you any incentive? Does that give you motivation to be better?

Who? The Leafs. Well, it wasn't like they played bad. They'll play the crop out of them last night. Yeah, I think more importantly, it's just the, the, the Panthers finding a way to win. They've got the goaltending going now, and the Panthers, they had to learn how to win against Boston.

It wasn't easy, it's not like they cruised through the Boston series. It was a bloody battle. They're down 3-1, right? Now they've won five in a row. They're rolling. Yep. They got a roll. They're rolling.

Nobody feels more confident. I don't even know if it was. Go ahead. I just say, like, you know your goalie's dialed? Is there a better feeling? Like, your three teams that went to the final, like, nothing trumps that. Yeah.

And you learn, you learn how to win that way, right? It's infectious. Your goalie gets feeling good. Everybody's on the same page. Every line you put out knows exactly how they're supposed to play, what they're supposed to do. There's no adapting or changing. or trying new things.

There's no pressure to come up with a new game plan. Make the other team react to you and away you go. I guess the point I was making is, is less about are they resting on their laurels? It's if they lose this series now, there's the fact that they won a series, all of a sudden is, hey, you had to win around. You went around, congrats.

Now if they lose this series, Do the fans and media really give them any kind of breathing room? Not really. Probably not, right? Yeah, the bracket open up right in front you. A team that had 91, 92 points, and a wild card was waiting in the second round, not the best regular season team in NHL history. And I still think this is a long series,

but to make things clear, you have to go and win the next two in Florida. Like, that's not going to be easy. There's a villain in this series, right? There is. He got exactly what he wanted. And at nine and a half million, If he's going to be this type of player for any amount of time, he's 25. He's underpaid.

But when there's other places where you can maybe make more, do different things, you're young, you don't have, there's still kids in school. You can live in all these cities. You may like Calgary a lot, but, you know, I'll get to try something else too.

Yeah. I think it's back to what Red said at the beginning. If you can build a winner, it changes everything. Guys want to win. Not many guys say, yeah, I want to go somewhere and lose 55 games a year, and it's miserable going to work. Guys want to win. And that's why, you know, all the ingredients that Tampa has made incredible teams with

He scored 18, I believe, that you're like, this is amazing when the long view, like, that guy needed some time in the American League. Because he goes, 18 is rookie year and never scored more than 13

the next, what, six years in Calgary? Like, you could see the intensity, but it was bad penalties. and, you know, bouncing around lines because, frankly, he couldn't take people's job on the top two lines and even the top three lines at times. You always knew the skill set was there, but, you know, I think he had to get out of here. You know, the change of scenery thing,

I think that was real with him. He was miscast in Calgary as a top line center when they drafted him, and he never and isn't that. I think he's a very effective player. He's a shit disturber much like Kachuk. He's a run around, run into guys. He's a battler for sure. He is not a stereotypical,

prototypical front lot, top end center. It's never hit 50 points. Yeah, he's not a star. No. He doesn't make a bunch of beautiful plays. He doesn't, right? He doesn't read the game brilliantly on the offensive side.

and he was someone I respected and it was a coach I like playing for he's kind of my style of coach and we got along great so obviously it's tough to see him go but that's part of the business to Daryl Sutter. Sorry to harp on that a lot, but you said he's your type of coach.

What do you mean by that? I don't think it's surprised that I'm not an offensive defenseman, a natural state home defenseman. I'm not going to be a superstar. I feel like I'm a good supporting piece and a depth player. I'm a player that works hard and keeps a mouth shut. And he's a coach that really respects that and expects the best of you. And then if you're going to pout and you're going to complain,

which I don't think I do as an individual, then you're obviously going to hear it from him. So he's someone that I respect him the fact where if you work hard, he's going to give you an opportunity. And that's exactly what he gave me in Calgary. He gave me a great opportunity to play an important role for their team on the third pair and a lot of meaningful minutes. So I really enjoyed my time with him.

So what was missing in Calgary, Troy, is the flames failed to make the playoffs? A lot of talent there. You know what? I don't really know. When I got there at the deadline, we went 11, 4 and 4. It wasn't like we played back. Like we played some really good hockey after the deadline when I got acquired.

It just seemed like some of their issues might ever happen earlier in the season. I know they went through a seven-game losing stretch, I think, back in November, obviously when I was in Arizona. So when you lose that many games consecutively, which I went through in Arizona, we had some stretches like that. It's really hard to make up ground in this league. And sometimes you get behind the eight ball. That's kind of the right. Good stuff from Troy there. and why your immediate reaction to that,

And I think no one more than Hubertoe. Cadre. I think for Huberto, he's the highest paid guy. he's been vocal. We haven't heard from Codry, right? Codry hasn't come out and said anything. Hubertoe has. Yep.

So whether that's fair or unfair, right or wrong, whatever you want to call it, I think that this now, if this year was pressure-packed for Jonathan Huberto, I don't think it's any less, maybe more going into next year. And again, to the Elliott quote yesterday, like, this next coach better be the one that it works with.

But is having been around it? having been around this organization, having seen it, having had the turnover and watched it unfold, is it better to have that, as in a Craig Conroy or a Pascal or something? Or is it better to be far removed and to be able to come in with a clean slate and go, I will self-evaluate this myself.

I don't need a past history or a biased history. Right, right? What's a better scenario for you? Well, It's one of the reasons I'm okay with them with this open search. I know it would be great if it was just boom, there's Craig, there's the job. But this is an organization that needs to look outward. It's not been run well enough that you can assume someone that's hanging around watching your guys at work is the best candidate, even if you might be.

And outside guys, still going to come in and have conversations to find out. So tell me what happened here, even if you have your own way of thinking. And it sounds like I'm just trying to defend Craig. But just because Craig has been there doesn't mean that he's agreed. and the way things have gone or the way things should go because I've been here. He may be sitting there more than anybody seeing what needs to happen and how wrong everything has been. My belief is that Craig and Brad would build teams differently, not one better, one worse, but they

prioritize different things. I don't think you're getting the same hymn book here at all if Craig's the G. And I know that there have been, like you've said, right, it's good to have people disagreeing. I know there have been times where Craig has, we're Trilliving and the Flames have done something where Craig hasn't thought that's what they should do. Or vice versa, pushing for something that doesn't happen. Yeah. And that's, I think that's great.

That's the sign of a healthy organization. I think you want collaboration. You want, you know, lots of different ideas. And if you get lots of very, very sharp people at what they do in analytics and coaching, in the AGM and GM chairs, you know, you're going to find lots of ways to be better than theoretically some of the other 32 teams out there. And sign Troy Stetcher. And try, yes.

There are many things that went poorly this year. And there were some guys and maybe time, the boiling point comes down a little bit, but there were led to believe. There were some guys that just said, I'm not going to come back. I can't do this again. So, yeah. Fair or not, blame whoever you want. but that was something that had taken place.

So just to be a, just, don't wait, just to be a bit of a dick. So what if, what if they said, what are you going to do, Daryl's coaching?
