Starting point is 00:00:34 centers of Calgary and then we put your comment on. That's where we're starting so early and there's already a super chat there. Yeah, people are upset. Often and puffing. I'm our hours for. No, this one's on me. I had to, uh,
Starting point is 00:00:47 I had to do some last minute, uh, just some editing. Just last minute. I'm a little worried when he's late for editing because I feel like we're teed up to for something. Nah. Yeah. Not today. Be all right.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Not today. Not today. Here in the McLeod Law LLP studios. Beautiful day. Beautiful weather continues. It is. Beautiful studio. Beautiful.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Beautiful lawyers. Yeah. Jack is here. He's excited. Pumped. Yeah. Oh, wow. Geez, you can feel it.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Pumped. I'm pumped. You have to pump you up. This is what he's here. That's right. That's right. And you know what? We can,
Starting point is 00:01:21 does anybody have anything we want to start with today? Or? There's only so much to get to today. I don't want to burn anything before we need. Yeah, I was thinking just, you know, life. How's everyone's life? Life's good. Head on the lake.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Gonna hit the boat. Chill out. Get a sunburn. Sure. I'm flying a van tomorrow. That'll be fun. Nice. See a buddy I haven't seen for a while.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Go to a concert. Let's go. FIFA World Cup 2026. It's actually. I hear it's about to start. No word of a lie. They built a $180 million amphitheater there that for FIFA and they're running concerts there.
Starting point is 00:01:57 So I'm like, I'll check this. Hell, yeah. 180 million. Oh, yeah. a lot. It's, uh, it is. What's expensive these days for me. Is, so is there, you're going to see the venue, like the structural makeup? No, no. There's, you're going to a concert. The days that there aren't FIFA watch parties, they're throwing concerts. I got to check.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Don't know if Dead Mouse is any good, but hell be there still. Tame Impala. No, I wish. Tame Impala be a hell of a show. Going to be. I think it's Cascade and Dead Mouse of the headliners. That's your lives. You like EDM. Sure. There you go. But thanks to, once again, to McLeod of Law for taking care of us here. Yeah. It's pretty good. You know, roof over our, we're pretty lucky.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Hopefully they don't need them when I'm back from band. Yeah, well, if you got through Stampede. That's a fair point. Yeah. We're all survivors here. Every week on the Crystal Waters guest hotline, we have a friend who joins us, and I figured it's a good way to tie two things in. Tell you about Crystal Waters, because of course, they are great sponsors,
Starting point is 00:02:55 great partners of ours. And we hope that you're, and it sounds like, YAR, supporting them when something, you need something in your home? heating, air conditioning, hot water, tank, air quality systems, whatever's going on. The heartbeat of your home, put it in the capable hands of Crystal Waters, plumbing and heating, your crystal clear choice for home comfort. Crystal Clear Calgary.com. Sean and the boys and girls, but everybody over there, the best, the very best, good humans and the best of what they do. Chad was over the other day.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Yeah, everything good. He's like, oh, yeah, oh yeah, it's good. Every Friday we talk to Darren Dregor. Every Wednesday we talk to Jamie McClennon. I guess we had our last conversations with both without really knowing. We didn't have any kind of kisses and hugs and see you, have a great summer kind of. One, they just do poof gone, right in the wind. Our buddy noodles is, you know, everybody loves to do.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Yeah. The show in real life, just, but he loves this guy. He, every summer, likes to take his family to Italy. That's right. His wife is Italian, I believe is what the thing is, part of it. and they love going over there. So he, they flew over,
Starting point is 00:04:05 I guess he'd probably day two. And they're in Barry this year, which is the other side of the boot. Is that what it is? Yes. I, Croatia side of the area. No,
Starting point is 00:04:12 that's in Ontario. Yeah, similar to different. Colts. So I kind of lurk and follow him around on his social media, text every once in a while. And I saw this morning,
Starting point is 00:04:22 he put a put, and it's not what we're going to see, but he put a thing, they're at the beach. And we know how Jamie loves the beach. Because whenever we've talked to him, I think actually he was in, was he in the Bahamas? What's that huge resource? Yeah, he was at Atlantis.
Starting point is 00:04:41 And he was like literally watching breaking down hockey film while his family was playing on the beach. Yeah, they're all in the water. He's too much of a workahles splashing around. Dad's under a huge umbrella. He's not a break frolicer. Probably rented for about 50 American for the day, a nice big umbrella to stay out of the sun. He's one of those coconut drinks with 30 U.S. drink, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Oh, this is in Italy, and I saw this was, I sent him a message this morning. How's the beach? And this is what he, Oh, yeah. There's young noodle. It looks all right.
Starting point is 00:05:17 It's to me. Yeah, we got some seaweed there, but he's, ah, those are rocks. And those are his toes, I believe. The future of Canadian goaltending's in good hands with his son there. Got to really get away in the off season. So it don't feel the shade.
Starting point is 00:05:32 You can see that's right. I know. He's got a cigarette out. Thought itself a spot there. Well done. He's doing okay. Not bad. But you know,
Starting point is 00:05:41 because we've talked to about it. He hates sand. He hates sand everywhere. I'll ask him. He doesn't like sun. Do you like the sand? I'll ask you to. He's just wishing he was in a hotel room on the road,
Starting point is 00:05:54 just breaking out penalty kills. Yeah, he would much rather that. Looks he has some kind of, is at Tortellini? It looks like what's in that So delicious past position. He's absolutely, like he's on his phone. Oh, he's texting me faster from the other side of the boot. Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Than he is in Ottawa. We should have got him on. He's got too much time. He doesn't know what they do. Ask if he's near Piscara. Tell him to stream the show. We can jump in. Stop by the shovelers ranch.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Piscara. Let me spell that. Not sure. E-S-C-A-R-A. I just do you like sand negative is how he's responded the rest of us are just drooling to get there he's like I'll trade places with India
Starting point is 00:06:40 I'd love to do a podcast right now it's not tortellini it's fresh or a chetti sorry it looks great sorry yeah we can get into some things you can get into so there's you know there's a few things that we can get into today but the the big news yesterday a bit of a bombshell coming out of Detroit.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Is this a, I jumped or before I got pushed or did you shove? Stevie, why? The Eiser plan looks to be extinct. Yeah, it's in the past in Detroit. Taken out of its misery. Shot down in a out, but he's still in. He's going to be a, he's got keys to the city. He's, he's a, he's kind of godlike there.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Yeah, the shine might be coming off a bit, but not for the everyday fan. I think the fan will always adore the player, but the fans have had a tough time with the GMs, I have to say. The executive VP and general manager, Steve Eisenman will no longer do that job, those duties. He will now be a senior advisor
Starting point is 00:07:42 to the governor and CEO Chris Ellich, who of course, a son of the owner Mike passed on. Yeah, we're firing you in upper management because whatever you were trying to accomplish is not going on. This is not going well. What do you want to do?
Starting point is 00:07:56 I think it was the conversation. What about this? How about you do this? Yeah. Are you surprised he's sticking around? I am. I don't think he, I think this is a title and he will see him.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Cleaned out his office. Yeah. And this is a polite way to say you're fired. But yeah, no, I believe that. Like, I don't think he's going to be doing anything for them. But my, my point being,
Starting point is 00:08:18 he's going to go somewhere else and we'll want to work. At some point, yeah. Right. So I'm just surprised it wasn't just. Maybe. I mean, to your point, like, what's he mean? And I don't know because. you just talked about our good friend noodles.
Starting point is 00:08:31 What does he not want to do? Sit at the beach and relax. So Stevie Y could very well be of the same ilk. And there is an addiction to the NHL. For lack of a better word, I can't even explain it. Yeah. If you're in the club,
Starting point is 00:08:49 you're in the club. But there's also, I'm 60. I've done this for 40. I don't know, how old is it? Like, at what point? point, is it enough? It was kind of like in Columbus when Mike Babcock's wife told him that
Starting point is 00:09:03 he was really good at vacationing and being retired. Yeah. So I'll just go back to that because, you know, this coaching staff isn't aligned. So he's on. My expectation, sorry, would be yeah, he works again, but if you've made that much money, you've had that much success. How old are you kids who just basically got fired from your. Yeah, like he's been, he's been fired and staying on. Like if you strip it all the way, he strikes me as
Starting point is 00:09:25 this is a guy who will probably want to work again. I mean, he's, Okay, how's this resume then? And I'm actually... I'll just finish my thought. My thought on with Detroit is, I wonder if it's the Red Wing saying, we'd like to not fire. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:39 One of the greatest in our franchise history could just... What's exactly what? We'll pay you for six. When you get your next opportunity, by all means, you're free to go. We would just not like to send out a press release where we have fired Steve Eiser. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:52 I mean, the same thing happened to Ron Francis. They said, oh, you're going to be a senior advisor now. Or you're the president or like just, you're fired up the org, you're not allowed to touch the GM buttons anymore. Yeah, that's exactly. That's what it is. 100%. And if he wants to work again, he will.
Starting point is 00:10:06 But to Rhett's point, like, is he going to step into a GM role or does he have to come in as an AGM somewhere else because of how not well this went in Detroit? I would expect he was pushed in that direction, but I also expect that he was probably like upon opening on his conversation, well, the hell with it. The other thing, like, he came in to a huge amount of acclaim. Like, he got credited at the time. with almost all of the successes the Tampa Bay Lightning had. And when there was tough spots,
Starting point is 00:10:32 he somehow made incredible work out of them, i.e. the Marty San Luis trade, i.e., you know, the Sergachev swap, which I think was with Montreal. Like, he did a really good, what happened under his watch in Tampa was phenomenal. So when Detroit got him,
Starting point is 00:10:46 it was like, oh, my God. Like, he've landed one of the most highly prized GMs in the sport. And from that in 2019 to the way he's viewed now, it's been a steep decline in his GM brand, so to speak. And flip side, Breezbois and Tampa looks like, man,
Starting point is 00:11:02 maybe he was behind the scenes doing a lot of, and it's always collaborative, but his stock was so high. I think the longer you do that job, the more there's going to be good trades, bad trades, good signs. It's the mixed bags.
Starting point is 00:11:16 It's just too much bad, not enough good in Detroit because. But he's also been screwed by the lottery balls. He doesn't have the benefit of the lottery ball. No. And he did well in the drafts where he fell in the lottery. He just didn't ever move up in the lottery. But when you stand up and say, we need better players and you're eight years into your GM tenure, it's like, well, yeah, that's your job.
Starting point is 00:11:36 You're the guy that's supposed to get better players. You've been here almost a decade. Yeah, I don't give them a passing grade at all, but I also. Like, if Connie's here in six years and they still haven't made the playoffs and there isn't a star and it's like, we need to rebuild the rebuild, that's kind of what's happened in Detroit. You would hate to see it happen here. You don't want it to happen here. I don't think it's going to happen here. That's what happened there.
Starting point is 00:11:57 What is Detroit referred to as? It's a hockey town. Oh, it's hockey town. Well, hockey town and Motown. And Motor City. Right. All the above? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Holy. That's a lot of weight to carry all those names. Yeah. I mean, he started back at the, at the feet of the great Scotty Bowman. He learned from one of the best. And then moved on from Detroit to Tampa Bay. He was there for a long time. Started there in 2010-11 and then left at the,
Starting point is 00:12:27 the end of the 19 seasons. Yeah, he was there for and there for a decade and then much the same in Detroit. That was a bombshell. That was like they did the Steve Eisenman thing to Kenny Holland at that point to get Stevie in. Yeah. And then he worked for the league for a little bit and then went to Edmonton for five years. I think some of the some of the criticism too is like you say, he didn't win the lot of ball. So maybe if you have some of the higher end players instead of Mo Sider or Lucas Raymond or who are there's a fine player. There's a fine player. players, but they aren't, was how he then went and handled the contracts and the negotiations and some of the things with those players. They maybe are at first overall, but you got them
Starting point is 00:13:09 at five or six or four. Those are your prized assets. You need to, like, don't, don't get too cute or too aggressive. And we're seeing with Verbeek, take care of the ones that you need to take care of. If you want to get, you know, if you want to chisel a little bit, that's down the roster down the down the line don't chisel with your stars yeah and there's some thought that maybe that was part of it but i did think of uh again part of the show i thought of the working man i know i thought of the working man yesterday as well i always think of the working man you know people out there the doing an honest doing an honest making an honest living keeping us safe uh but the working man's been part of the show oh felons red bill 50 bucks this should have happened in
Starting point is 00:13:53 april not july but eisenman has gone Finally, the next GM cannot be one of his guys in Draper or Cleary need a younger guy who isn't out of touch. Iserman is why he became a wings fan, the bad GM hashtag Motor City. 50 bucks. And he's been on this for a while. He told us the wings were going to collapse and fall out of a playoff spot, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Everything the working man feared has come to fruition this year. But I think this is probably, yeah, he got his, he got his wish.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Yeah, and I would, the one thing I would, I don't know that, like, certainly Pat Rebeke and Steve Eisenman would be general managers that do things similarly. That doesn't mean that Draper and Cleary would. They're under studies, but I mean, that would be to suggest, oh, well, Connie learned under Trillivings, so they're going to do things the same way. No, they've gone about things very differently. Is there any way that jealousy plays into Burbik and Iserman's approach? You know what I'm saying? Stevie Eisenman can't believe these guys would be this kind of money. Stud of stud in the NHL making $2 million.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Now I've got to pay this guy 15. What the up? Are we talking? And maybe it's not the numbers, but I think there's an ego piece. Like when you walk around Detroit and you're known as the captain. Yeah. And then the captain actually on the team is up. And it's like, who's going to be captain? Well, there's no one here that's good enough to be a captain.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Because I know what I was. I think there was a lot of friction between Larkin and Eisenman, two centers. both wearing the sea and eisman clearly being like this isn't the level of a captain that we need to win a cup and i and larkin being like can we just like put away this nonsense like how are we not better like why am i here 10 years as a michigan guy and we've like we haven't made the plus 10 years it's like you say it's so hard to know larkin was there his whole career eisenman the same and whether or not it's because they were both captains and but i would think for larkin you get tired of You get tired of not getting to the playoffs. And if you're sitting there and watching the moves that are being made, it's like, we're not closer. You didn't need to sound bench rot twice on two bad deals.
Starting point is 00:16:08 This leads into even more of my desires. I have a chip on his shoulder towards Larkin. And I don't know if I'm wording this correctly. But Eisenman was unreal and the wing sucked. Yeah. For a long time. Like not too, it's very similar to Larkin. where they were shit, straight shit.
Starting point is 00:16:29 And Eisenman was awesome. And he had to be going, what are we doing here? And then all of a sudden, I think it was when Scotty went there and started coaching. He got them to buy into, let's win. It might be that as much as the dollars for Eisenman to sit there across the table and say, so we're not making the playoffs and you want out. Well, I could have done, do you know how long I had to wait? Do you look the kind of pain that I went through?
Starting point is 00:16:54 You know how we got out of the truck. And I wasn't begging for an release. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think it's crazy when you sort of listen to the insiders and talk to people around the org that things could have been smoother and better and more amicable between Larkin and Iserman.
Starting point is 00:17:10 And so the immediate follow up is, does this change anything with Dylan Larkin or not? Is the, is the horse already out of the barn? Or was that the biggest issue was that he didn't trust the GM to get there. Well, you wonder. Yeah. Well, I'm lying. Sorry, not to cut you off, but I was wrong. I thought they missed the playoffs all the time,
Starting point is 00:17:25 but they did make it. They just didn't have much. They just, yeah. And the first few years they didn't, I believe it was. No, he was in pretty good.
Starting point is 00:17:31 I was right away. Um, if you are, if you're the Detroit Red Wings and whether it's Eisenhower and not, you know what the offers are. And if the offers are no good for Dylan Larkin. Now granted, he's given you what,
Starting point is 00:17:42 four teams to deal with. But if the offers are not going to make you better and you're, you're in a spot, we're just going to have to trade this guy because he's not going to play. Well, what are our options? picture. If it's a Eisenman, if we can change the GM and have a new kind of lease on life and a new path, does that maybe bring Dylan in because he's on a good contract? He's one of our best players, if not our best player.
Starting point is 00:18:12 We need him because if we lose this trade, it could be another four or five years. Now we're talking 20 years, whatever it is out of the playoffs. And similarly, if Iserman was hell bent, on getting a hockey trade done that helps his team this year. And another point of view is we need to rebuild it, that might be the end of the line when the owner is like, look, you might think we can be a playoff team next year with a hockey trade. But what you're telling me is available in trade. I don't see it.
Starting point is 00:18:39 I'll bet you that's the big good. The conversation we're having is probably the one they all had. And this is how they came up with the outlets. Yeah. You're not close. The plan hasn't turned out. How are you going to deal with the lark of thing? Well, that doesn't seem to be good.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Is ever like, there's enough red flags where it's like, well, I'm not buying what you're selling anymore. Yeah. I think you've done an honest effort. That's not a, it's right. Right. There was sure a, a lot of people pointing towards Brendan Shanahan as a guy who could come in there. Now again, it's a guy that played for the team and he's had success there.
Starting point is 00:19:13 So is that good or bad? I don't know. I would go outside of it. I know. If he wants to come in and be a part of a solution, sure. What do you mean part though? Well, I mean, like in Toronto, he's, he was, well, part might make you more money.
Starting point is 00:19:26 If you're the president of the wings and then you slide a GM underneath, it's a little more modern. I don't know. Well, he had the share of you. There was the Eiser plan and he had the Shanna plan, if you remember. Right. Yeah. Anything with a plan of the end ain't going to work.
Starting point is 00:19:40 He'd come in with one of those overhead projectors on a cart like in school. Remember the old? Down the whiteboard. Yeah, okay. So this is, this was my Shana plan. Yeah, I don't know. But there again, he's not going to come in to be an 80. GM or a cons.
Starting point is 00:19:55 So I'll come in and run that place. Pronger. Pronger sniffing. Yeah. I would go outside and get someone. I would say this. At least with Shanahan, you've got a lot of in industry experience.
Starting point is 00:20:08 I don't feel the same way about Chris Pronger right now. Um, who works for the league, but like he doesn't have a decade of watching the inter workings of a club, right? Not to say that everything went swimmingly with Shannon in Toronto. Didn't. But he also had like 100 point teams for almost a decade. You know, it's not nothing.
Starting point is 00:20:25 It's not nothing. It's not everything. Part of the stink on Shanahan will be because it was Toronto. You did that in Columbus or St. Louis or anywhere else. Toronto while he lived in. Think about Dubus. He was tart and feathered and you're looking at him in Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Shit. He's actually probably a really good GM. He ran that franchise for 10 years. They made the playoffs and they were okay. He would be at high on a lot of teams lists. And I think teams have to look past the Toronto thing. If that's a hang up, I don't know that it should be.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I don't think it's a hang up. Yeah. Well, good luck to to Detroit and the working man and everybody there. I think the reality they probably have arrived at is that this 10-year rebuild needs to be rebuilt. Yeah, this rebuild hasn't. And that's not having an aunt on.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Like it was supposed to be Terry and Zegris and, you know, all these other guys. Sam, like that was going to be. And they looked around and said, shit, like, these are okay players, but this ain't a group. and now it's Seneca and Goce and Carlson and the big American defender whose name I always forget this is at the Olympics, Lecombe, like that and Dostle,
Starting point is 00:21:36 like it was the second attempt that the rebuild the got Anaheim over the hump. Yeah. And Buffalo is on about three. And Carlson and Seneca were top three picks. Yes. They had to get bad again and get back into the top of the draft. And Detroit hasn't had that.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Yeah, they've had some four or five sixes. And that isn't really the problem. Like when you look at what Stevie did, he didn't swing and miss. with his top 10 picks. His problem was he blew his brains out on bad players in UFA. Oh, that trade lasts. The trade wasn't good, the Falk, but like Ben Chirot,
Starting point is 00:22:05 it's like big lumbering D-man that you just know can't play well enough. Like, oof, he can't be, like, he blew his brains out on some really mediocre bottom of the roster, bottom half of the roster players. And then with guys under team control, he's grinding me for every nickel. I think the biggest message here is that Conroy better get off his ass and I screw this up, right? Like that's what Connie was at Lake Georgia, wherever he is in New York on his yacht and motor boat. And he was thinking life is good.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Jess, another peanut collado over here. Stevie gets fires like, wait a minute. I better. I better get to work here. It's a message sent, Conroy. I'm not sure if that's. You only got seven years, Katty. That's not what you took on it.
Starting point is 00:22:52 That's not what I got, but as you said, you know, it's a message. It's in the I-B-holder. I mean, they've not drafted particularly. Who has? Do it comparison. I know, I know. It's easy to, I know. But you just think they've missed the playoffs,
Starting point is 00:23:05 so you're picking higher. They took Philip Zadena at 6 in 2018. He did not pan out. Mosider at 6 is not fine. Phenomenal. Not even okay. He's going to get Norris votes for a long time and did this year. Lucas Raymond at 4.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Very good player. He'd be fine. But then kind of nothing. nothing beyond. They had two second, three seconds, and none of those guys have played in 2020, but. Edvinson's an intriguing talent. They got two good goalies in the system and what, COSA
Starting point is 00:23:32 and Augustine. Well, Cosa's gone. Coza they moved, but point being is like, those were assets they could move because they were good draft picks. I was quick how you pivoted on that. Well, he drafted them. That was good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Not in the system. Anyway, Red Wings,
Starting point is 00:23:48 have you missed them? Yes. I think the league's better. with them. I like Chicago and Detroit in there. It was Game 82 a couple of years ago where they got screwed by a game going to overtime somewhere else that officially caoed them. But I was excited to see
Starting point is 00:24:04 that new building host a playoff game because those are great fans and it was going to be buzzing. Not the exact same level as Buffalo this year, but similar where it's like, shit, that's a great hockey market. It's going to be nuts so if they get in and they just haven't. No, they have not. Despite the Eiser plan.
Starting point is 00:24:23 there's no eyes are planned now. What would yours be? Warner Opelie. Warner Paloza? I'm going to have to put some time and drinks into figure in a road. Rhetography. The ratastrophe? No, that'd be bad.
Starting point is 00:24:41 That's what they would call it. Adrenaline source for sports is holding their back to hockey event. Today is the 16th. Coming up quick. Get ready. Starting on Saturday, right through till July 26th, save 20 to 50%. off on top hockey brands like Bauer, CCM, True and Warrior. You need sticks.
Starting point is 00:25:02 You need skates. You need protective. It's whatever you need to fill up that hockey bag at savings that you'll love. If you're one of those, don't we do it all the time. You procrastinating. You forget about it. Oh, geez. You know, back in July, I really should have gone and got the kids, the sticks and
Starting point is 00:25:14 stuff because I would have saved hundreds of dollars if I'd have done that. Kind of like, this is your, your heads up. On Saturday, this Saturday, line up before 10 a.m. At either adrenaline location, you'll get a chance to win one of 60 gift cards valued between $50 and $250, taking advantage of their weekend, spend and get offer. Details are in store. Adrenaline source for sports, Northland Mall, McLeod Trail South. So yes, be a smart hockey ringette, ice sport, parent. Don't be an idiot like me when final day of registration was yesterday.
Starting point is 00:25:54 You knew it and you talked about it and you were going to get her done. Are you getting dinged to the late church today? I sure am, Brian. Yeah, that old early bird. Oh, I did that a couple of years ago. I was so mad to myself. Don't be like us. Oh, yeah, I got to do this.
Starting point is 00:26:08 Well, I was just going to grab a coffee for barbecue on. I'm going to. I'm so hungry. I just like snack. What do they forget? Go to adrenaline because the sales on now and you know. During Saturday. Yes.
Starting point is 00:26:21 In a couple of weeks, you're going to be. back at the rink because hockey Calgary's crazy and they want you there all August or you'll forget about it. You'll think, well, maybe the kid doesn't need it's fine. They don't go. My skates are
Starting point is 00:26:35 We just got those. You realized like a week ago a week ago if you'd have done that. Then you blame it on the kid. Well, why didn't you check your gear? Yeah. Come on your nine-year-old's. You got her.
Starting point is 00:26:46 What is it on me to make sure of your stuff? Adrenaline. Let's get out. Yeah, we can do a couple things. Yeah, we got lots to do. Who would you, is there a young guy you'd love to hire if you're Detroit just to put a bow on it? Because I think we've thrown the old recycled names out. No, I mean.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Yeah, I don't just don't know if there was a sexy candidate. Like, no. You know, is there a sunny meta or a young guy? I'm sure there is. Yeah. But I don't know. Is that a market where you need to have some, some cash, some familiarity, like a Shanahan
Starting point is 00:27:29 or do you need to, as much as the working man doesn't want it to be someone from that's why I think he could come in and be a part of it like as the president type thing because I think there is some value in that market especially to have a name you trust in a way. Well,
Starting point is 00:27:42 just to argue with Pinder because I like to do that. It might be the opposite from the fans point of view right now. Yeah. No, they basically. He's like, F that. We love the old guys.
Starting point is 00:27:52 It sounds like I just heard 2.0, right? It's awesome. We cheered for them. We love them. They're in our hearts forever. I don't need them running. things it's not gone to walk yeah that that would be a fair position to have but guess what yeah i'm guessing the illich family just is just jack back me up if we're if i'm wrong just say okay guessing the
Starting point is 00:28:12 illich family isn't running a like a twitter poll asking the fans right they'll do that when they name the team they'll pretend to let the fans pick beyond that they're done asking the fans what yeah i don't know maybe they do things differently in Detroit. Do you want us to be the Kraken or the pirates? Who should be? Okay, shut up, Bernardown. Who should we hire? Shanahan?
Starting point is 00:28:37 Help us design a new third jersey. What should we name the mascot? Right. That's, yeah. Who should run the operation? Who the hell knows what they're doing out there? Does anybody do? Do you guys have any ideas? What we should do? Crowfoot Dodge.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Crofoot, Dodgecrizer.com. 20. Crowfoot rise in the northwest. New ownership, new energy, same great Northwest location. Crowfoot, Chrys, or Dodge, Jeep, Ram, now part of the Capitol Automotive Group. The focus is simple. Buying a vehicle, make that easy. Make it fun, enjoyable. Big selection of trucks and SUVs, everything in between, and it's a team that'll treat you like a neighbor, not a number.
Starting point is 00:29:13 Maybe you're upgrading your ride, you're just kind of looking around. You want something new. Crowfoot building something fresh and worth checking out, no drama, no run around, just solid vehicles and solid people. You know what? That's what it's like for them. take over something new, some fresh perspective. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Revival and energy. That's what you need. Hopefully you should call them. Crowfoot Dodge, 20 crowfoot rise in the Northwest, part of the capital automotive group. I was kind of looking here because the, uh, the NHL is releasing the schedule. Sched drops today. Yeah. We've got the season openers a few days ago and today is the full slate apparently.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Yeah. I had like nowish. Yeah. Because it just kind of, I got the email. Flames will. open with the home and homans against the crackin, the team we have the strongest emotions about of any in the NHL.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Can't take the Cracket. It's going to be an emotional step down after the Cracken. We're mountaineers. They're sailors. We're no chance. What? Can't get along. We can't take the Cracken? We've kind of been shitting on the Crackin a little bit.
Starting point is 00:30:19 It's been a pretty miserable six-year existence or whatever it is. It's a sad state of affairs to be a Crackenon. Who's the greatest player to wear a cracking jersey. That's where you kind of realize they haven't done the best job. Adam Larson. Maddie Baneers?
Starting point is 00:30:34 Joe. Mark Giordano for 10 minutes. Let's let Gio get taken in the expansion draft instead of trading him. What in the flying? Give me that chicken. God, we're wrong about a lot of stuff, but that's the one we were right
Starting point is 00:30:49 about, boys. Yeah. It's never made sense to me. Well, he's done a lot for the franchise. We need to honor him. Oh, because you're going to retire his number? Well, no, he's not that good. But I just for right now,
Starting point is 00:31:05 he's, we just really want to do well by him. Unless there was more going on behind the scenes. There's nothing like, well, and there probably was, but nothing like doing well by a guy by sending him to do an expansion to you.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Like, what are we talking about? We love you. We love you. We love your team. It's probably going to finish last and there's no stars. We have no saying anything. Oh, hands are tied.
Starting point is 00:31:25 You can't do anything. You get my job. So it. I did one. ask this. You brought it up a couple of times and I've just kind of, I'm not interested. Shane Wright. Young Center. It seems like
Starting point is 00:31:38 he's not long for the Seattle crack. Yeah, there's a conversation apparently between the agent team. They're actively trying to find him a new home. It is you asked me about Shane Wright. I said, ah, I'm not kind of out on this guy. Now, and again, it might just be optics. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Probably should have done a little bit more, you know, do a little intel because on one hand, sit here and piss them all you can never find centers the only way he says you got to trade him well here's a young guy who is available and is maybe not elite in whatever year he was drafted 2020 or whatever it was to the COVID year didn't play COVID year he didn't play slavko's one to Montreal instead of him he slides to the cracking well I'm just wondering I bitch and complain that you can't get centers and all here's a center and I'm ah no I'm good so well kind of talking out of both sides of my I think though you answered your own debate. He's done nothing to get you excited. You said it in your thing. It's like, well, he's probably not an elite center.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Well, what do we need? An elite center. Now, that's, that said, like, what's the ask? Is it a first cam out? Well, that's where. Is it a second and third? Yeah, I'm in. Because if it doesn't work, is losing a second and a third in the next three
Starting point is 00:32:51 draft class is going to hurt flames? No, there's swimming in picks. I don't know who he's saying no to as far as trades. I don't even think he probably can't have protection. Yeah. But if he's that sought after and highly regarded, why is he not gone? Well, they're trying to maximize return. That's my point is that whatever they're looking for is way too much for a guy that you have no clue.
Starting point is 00:33:12 I'd rather go after Pedersen. That's a loaded one for sure, because he's at least shown you he's a hundred-point player once. This guy, what's he got for most points? Well, he's played in a way, he's played two full seasons, if you want to call it that. Yeah. Two seasons ago, 79 games this past year you played in 74. So let's call it a full season. Sure.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Those are full season. You had 19 goals, 44 points two years ago this past season, 27 points, 12 goals. So a step back year. Yeah. There are centers that have been out there that we've said they're not going to be good. They flashed it, but it's not there. And they've totally proven us wrong. I think Pierre-Luc de Bois might be number one on that list.
Starting point is 00:33:52 And he's been, he's a really, really, really good Washington Capitol right now. and he's been a great fit there. But he was an awful fit in LA. Awful fit in Winnipeg. It's taking a lot of time and money. I'm not convinced. I'm not sold. He did have a great year.
Starting point is 00:34:08 You can't. I just mean, they gave up Kemper. Like the price was right and it's a hell of a trade. Because they already had Lingren was better than him. And Thompson's better than both of them. Like it was a great deal for the caps. They've got the best player in the transaction.
Starting point is 00:34:19 But like, he's not a star. But if he's their two C and he's playing well, you're like, shit, how do you find guys like that? Well, they bought low. Now there's lots of examples of guys that it didn't go that well. But Zegris is another. He at least flashed it early in his career, but his last couple years in Anna, I'm awful by his own standards.
Starting point is 00:34:37 And so it's like, is this one of those situations or is this a guy that will never ever get close to the hype that his pedigree earned? I wonder about the baggage that's go, like, and I don't even have baggage is their way. His attitude at that draft, but didn't he eyeball, Montreal. Yeah, he was being mugging them when they picked. Because for a long time, he was the
Starting point is 00:34:59 perspective one. Yeah, he was the number one. And you feel like he didn't shut down the fucking O. He wanted to play hockey that year. The league kept telling him they were going to get started. They didn't. Like, he got screwed that year. And that hurt his development. You can't not play
Starting point is 00:35:14 for your 17 year old year and you know, have it work. Yeah. But. Oh. He's better. He's responsible on his own zone. He's a right So he's looking at the camera for the photo, and Montreal's table is right there. It's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Oh, okay. Yeah, he was, did you not see that? Well, I can I remember it now. Yeah, that's because Montreal had the first pick, so they've got the table right at the very front. So he's given them the, hey, fuck you guys. Well, maybe they said something to, they were going to take them too, but. So far, Slavkovsky seems to be the, the right. Yeah, but Montreal's not regarding it.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Yes. What about the other teams that didn't take them? There was another one in there, too. As well as that three or four there. Two other teams, not in Montreal. So I don't know. I was maybe hasty at the start, but I still kind of feel that way. I don't feel like can he play center in the NHL?
Starting point is 00:36:10 I think so. Yeah, he's a center for sure. It's just as you two, three or one. Yeah. I don't know. On the flames, I think I'm. Ah, is it America. Keeping powder.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Powder in Ontario. The powder dry, maybe. And see. They annexed Burlington? It's going on. Trump's taken over that. It's right. It's a by-low scenario, which is a scary one,
Starting point is 00:36:32 because you're betting on him being better than he's ever shown you he's been in the league. You're betting on him being better than Reschney? No, but you're any more than just one Roshney? I mean, like, if you look at the age of Backland, Stroman Frost, UFA's the summer, like they really... You don't... Listen, I think we're all... Probably draftling this summer, but you...
Starting point is 00:36:49 Like, no one's ever been like, shit, we've got too many centers. No, I think we're all of the same opinion. For the right price, yeah, we'll take it. Yeah, and so what is that price? That's where we don't really know. If it's a second and the third, I say go get it. It's a first. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:00 I know. And it's got it. There's no sprint to go get this guy. It's not a dissimilar situation than Nemich, but at least you had the Olympics. And like, there are flashes of Nemitz showing what his skills can do in the NHL. The Shane Wright highlight reel isn't him, like, fooling NHLers much yet. Where in Nemich, you see, like, this guy's, weapon three on three.
Starting point is 00:37:25 This guy, he gets up in the ice the highlight, it's impressive. But it's not a different type of bet, is it? That like the change of scenery
Starting point is 00:37:33 and a bigger role in a different environment would be better. That's the bet. Yeah, okay, it's a similar type of bet, but if the price is the same,
Starting point is 00:37:40 no way, so it's not even. That's the thing. The bets, it's a bigger bet for Nemich because of the price you paid. Yeah, and Demich I would suggest is.
Starting point is 00:37:49 We weren't upset with the price that was paid for Nemich, were we? Late first. well, it's two firsts, whether they're late or not. That's true. It's two firsts.
Starting point is 00:37:58 They look to be late. They aren't necessarily. We thought Florida's picked this year would be a late one as well. It turned up being a top ten bit. Yeah, but I guess what I'm saying, it's two firsts. So when you trade two firsts and that for a player, there's going to be some warts on that player, probably, or they wouldn't be available. It's just did it need to be a D man? I wonder.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Did you need to do it now for this D man? Do you wait? I think they didn't expect to get Carls either. I'm going to say something like it's all right we'll just pick one and go right like would that have changed things well I mean they made the trade they could have pivoted and gotten Bjork right no well that's my point I don't I don't I think they thought they were getting Bjork maybe yes yeah like every mock we did we didn't think carls was getting to them yeah yeah but yeah I think when you saw what nemich did at the Olympic tournament like pretty outstanding stuff for a very young guy that had huge minutes um right to
Starting point is 00:38:52 doesn't have one of those on the back of his player card where you're like, that's the guy we can unlock. It's also maybe part of why we look at the crack and then wonder how come you're not better. Well, they had a fourth overall pick and took a setter who they thought was going to be the number one setter. And he's thought it'd be the face of the franchise. Not been that. I don't know how people feel about Maddie Paneers. He was going to be unreal. He had that one year where you're like, this guy's the star, they were looking for.
Starting point is 00:39:16 And maybe he's a two C and that's great. You need those. But they don't have a star. And then Panarin said no. and then who was it this year said no. Robertson said no. Until they win, that's not a destination. Poor Seattle.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Won a Super Bowl. Yeah, I think the NFL team can recruit. They screwed up too on a Super Bowl drive full Pete. Remember that, yeah. Marshawn wants you to run it. Is that going to hand it off there, Pete? Hand it off. Try it hand it off.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Outdoor dental, Dr. J. Patel. The website is outdoor.dental. That's how that works. Snoring treatment at a dental office? What do you talk about? That's right. It's because Dr. Jay has invested and went out and got the Soleil Laser, which is state-of-the-art technology for the dental work. With sedation dentistry and just with dentistry, it's painless, no needles and all that sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:40:06 This is the Solaya Laser. Turn laser on. It says, look at that thing. It can also work to eliminate your snoring. Two 15-minute treatments that can last up to a year. Gentle tension in the soft palate reduces snoring. Most insurance plans will provide coverage. look good look online learn more about not just that but everything that they do at outdoor dental book a consultation get in there say hi to dr jay ask him about the oil or goaltenders outdoor dot dental is the website right there for dr g um just some videos i've got for you just some stuff that uh that just kind of made me laugh you know i i'm into high brow comedy we have a jackass or whatever's got another movie out people laugh at stupid things
Starting point is 00:40:56 I don't do kind of need things to be a little smarter high brow yeah uh like a baseball umpire yeah you love them you wanted to be one i do yeah i don't work on his call yeah uh at a certain have you guys ever refed kid hockey or hate refs can't stand so what what do you wear for protection do you do you do shins i don't remember if i it was pretty low level. Yeah. So I don't think I had the cup in the shins, but if you... They wore ankle braces, so you'll... Yeah, I don't know. I've seen him skate.
Starting point is 00:41:30 So I just wonder at a certain level with baseball, do you just... It's going to happen. I got my little chest protector and I put my mask on. It's for years. Don't think this guy maybe thought he needed to... These are little guys. Looks like he's wearing the get-out. This is the same inning. You'll notice top two. Bottoms.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Two gorgeous park. Oh, no. Top four. Hanging in there. Man down. It's not worth the 25. I've been doing this for 15 years. It never happened once.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Three in a game. Three tall tips. Off the. Tip. That's AI. I can have. Catcher, but those are, those are fouled back. That's not the catcher's fault.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Jeez. Yeah, but you grab those? You can protect me here, son. Poor boss. Poor bastard. Poor bastard. Oh, yeah. What would your kids say that got him?
Starting point is 00:43:02 Red the nuts and the nuts. Hit me in the nuts. Right the nuts. Yes. Golfing. You come home, babe. I need to buy new golf clubs. Seriously.
Starting point is 00:43:15 new clubs you keep telling me that your game will improve because of it no i'm not buying it you're not buying new clubs not different different story i need i need new clubs oh my god please please oh he's ripper my bag clear oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god These are mine now. I think you. Those are my clubs, man. Give me my clothes back, bear. Don't put honey in your bag. Come on, guy.
Starting point is 00:44:11 Rose, Rose. That's a decent spare right there. I thought we'd learn our lesson with the wildlife. I know. Tuesday. I've got to be honest. But no, you're right. Don't have a bunch of peanut butter and honey sandwiches in your golf bag, Jack.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Yeah, I don't know what the hell. you do in this situation you don't get your phone out 10 feet away yeah that's what I would recommend yeah that's an idiot we saw what happened with bison when you do that yeah that's a her before this is a carnivore he's just a little guy that's right come here a little buddy well you're gonna get started early in golf you get a swing early you can really yeah makes life easier so yeah let's remind yeah see you guys and uh you guys like dogs right wow I don't know dogs I can't get enough You guys like dogs? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:45:13 There's two dogs here. One is kind of a boomer dog. And one's a pender dog. Oh, dear. I'll suggest that this might be the boomer dog. You could use the stairs or... It doesn't seem to have a leash or a caller or anything. He's just kind of...
Starting point is 00:45:32 All right. Did I forget my phone up there? What times is this dog gone? Well, this is a mall. where the world are we dog friendly mom I mean you're right do you teach your dog to do that
Starting point is 00:45:49 and this guy here would be the pinder dog he loves the ball get the ball can shake off now that I have the ball oh no it's the sound of him hitting the water it's
Starting point is 00:46:17 Oh, it's like me at the beer line I'm scared of the same Ah, sir, I just got you that. Oh, dear, it's gone. He's a good boy. Not bad, because you had chocolate lab, right, Jack? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:39 Chief. He was a lot like that, too. Anytime there was water. The labs love the water. Are you taking your dog to the lake, or are you leaving him at home? I'll probably take him, but I don't want to. You kind of over this dog now? No, with the boats.
Starting point is 00:46:54 It's not a lot. No, it's a heavy. It's a heavy task. It's damn hot, so you can't really leave tied up outside. You swim. Is he a swimmer? Not a swimmer. Doesn't mind paddling around, like splashing around?
Starting point is 00:47:09 Waiting a bit. Back to baseball. Go to Okotoketokes and watch the kids play. Yes. Is it big? The road to Okotoketokes. It's a massive, kind of a national championship. of our Little League World Series.
Starting point is 00:47:21 It is great baseball. It is a great ballpark. It's a great baseball town. The weather is great. You couldn't ask for much more. Man, it's such a great setup down there. If you haven't been, good. Rickard.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Yeah, it is. I think one of the Wolverines kids is on path to potentially. I think there's a home run derby even. Really? All right. Are you in it? No, I can. Ceremonial first swing or something?
Starting point is 00:47:45 I hurt myself. I was trying with so bop today. Shoulder's getting worse. I did your shoulder. So, yeah. You know, we're into the summer schedule. Tuesdays, Thursdays,
Starting point is 00:48:01 Thursdays are when we put out new shows. Some of it will be this. Some of it will be sit down one-on-one interviews. Those are coming. Next week, we will be rolling out. I don't know that we're doing a live show next week. You know, I was told we weren't. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:18 Coming up on one of the days, we will have, again, just kind of repurposed, repackaged content. Here's a little promo for one that's coming next week. The best of Barnburner. He's been accused of bullying before he got to Columbus. Franson, Minor, Medano, Braddison Hall, and Tito. You know what? Here, take you. Do you think, the bowlers to Keenan?
Starting point is 00:48:45 Or Quintville ever have a shot? Did you don't go. I think they have a long list too. Get him a tissue. Oh my God. He's been bullying. Like, stop it. You know what?
Starting point is 00:48:56 There's bullies everywhere. You don't know the ends and outs of it, right? You're speaking like you're the judge and the jury or the lawyer that's been informed. So why did he resign? No, no, no. You don't get to assume. I'm not assuming. You are assuming.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Were you in that room? No, I don't know what the fuck happened. I haven't said. I know what happens. Let me make myself clear that. Where do you read the accusation? there's been a bunch of articles written about it. And so when I mentioned names yesterday with noodles,
Starting point is 00:49:20 you guys both immediately got stink face. And I'm like, if you read the things these players. You're going to name a list of names like you're a lawyer that's done research on. Has Brady Kachukh played his last game? What the hell is going on there? He's got a contract. Kach says he's fully committed. I mean, you're going to take him for face value?
Starting point is 00:49:43 Not really. I think he will stay. Nothing for me points to Brady saying, check, please. I don't think Matthew's leaving. I think, you know, I think Matthew has got a good thing going. I see the speculation and understand it from what I just laid out. But to me, that's just hearsay. Smiths will likely play in the NHL next year.
Starting point is 00:50:05 I think Verhoff will be the better defenseman three years out. You have a mind. You have nothing to base it on. But base what on? What are we talking about? Your opinion. This is going to play next year? You speaking, I think he'll play next year.
Starting point is 00:50:17 But down the road, this is going to be the better defense. Have you seen either one of them playing? Yes, but the point is not that I... When? Well, okay, so I sat down two nights ago with the guys of an agent in Europe. And all he did was stuff for half an hour about what GMs have said about Alberg people. You've talked to people. And you're like adopting it as your hard and fast opinion.
Starting point is 00:50:36 Well, of course it is. I think this guy's going to be better defense. Who have you read about who's the most NHR-ready defenseman? What I'm reading and who I'm talking to? Put your name. Who's serious about it? I wouldn't do it because I'm fucking seeing the play. You sound like a fucking smile.
Starting point is 00:50:48 I'm not saying I've seen them play and that I'm a scalp. You just told me who's going to be the better defense. So yeah. Harmonious. Hopefully you're looking forward to that next week. Going through the, kind of put it into some. Roller decks.
Starting point is 00:51:05 Some three categories. Heated debates. Sure. Loud wrongs. Oh, I like a good lot of the wrong. And just dumb stuff. I do enjoy it. Everyone does take the turn, skit in the horns.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Oh. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It really. Yeah, it's true. No one's unscathed on this show. So we'll have, we'll be posting on our social media, what the schedule is going to be for the week and what, uh, what shows are coming up. But we'll do a best of also a best of, uh, Jamie McLennan.
Starting point is 00:51:41 God, he's going to tell him stories. We'll be coming up in the next, uh, next few weeks as well. Yeah, he, you know what? He comes on a lot and he talks a lot. I think I figured out by midseason, your plan was always to be like, okay, well, we'll talk about the hockey stuff, but I need like, what's the kicker story from noodles?
Starting point is 00:51:57 Well, those are the ones that everyone, it's like we were doing the radio show. We could have some deep investigative stuff and look at numbers and trends and all of that. But if we talked about a guy who, you know, took a fart and a birthday cake, oh, I remember you guys. When you took the fart and the birthday cake, it's like, that was in 92. Yeah, but man, we still talk about that. That was so great.
Starting point is 00:52:22 That's the stuff with noodles when people, oh, I love Jamie McClough when he comes on. That story he told about getting hit in the head with the, with the piece of wood outside the bar or whatever it was. Outside the country bar, as he said, I think that's my oldest. Yeah. So I loved his pizza delivery story. That was way back in the fall. That's when we just got on the scent of like, get him to tell a story at the end of every. Yeah, he talks about how he didn't, or he saved or didn't burn down Commonwealth Stadium,
Starting point is 00:52:49 helicopter rides, helicopters, yeah, there's a lot of coming up. So those will be the hot dog in Montreal. So many good ones. Yeah, those will be coming up over the course of the summer. Not to mention some, you know, good little sit downs as well. Good little sit downs as well. Time now, Jack, a message for Airbnb. Well, it's getting close.
Starting point is 00:53:13 FIFA World Cup 2026, everybody getting together. You can feel the energy. People are pumped up. The bars, everybody is going to be jacked. And it's coming to Canada. I'm excited to see footy fans take over Vancouver and Toronto. And I'm super pumped to see Canadians embrace our team at FIFA World Cup 2026. I know I'll be one of those people crowded around the screens at restaurants and bars,
Starting point is 00:53:38 cheering on the matches this summer. I love that vibe. When the windows are open and you're cheering. and you can hear your neighbors cheering and everybody's kind of rooting for the same, you know, the same team, that same cause. It's hard to beat. I can remember watching Portugal and Italy play on College Street in Toronto. Incredible fans, delis, cafes, jerseys, France ends up winning the tournament.
Starting point is 00:54:02 They're celebrating porn out of a French restaurant. Cars are honking, flags are waving. Nothing beats the fandom. I know a lot of people are going to the games. Airbnb, no better way to do it. get everybody together, you get a nice spot, everybody comes together to watch the games when it's game time, food going in the kitchen, kids are running around,
Starting point is 00:54:22 cheering, running out into the streets. It's getting closer. I'm pumped for it. I totally agree. Certainly, really exciting months coming this summer. I can't wait. Airbnb, the world is meant to meet. It's time for the Pender Report. Our great friends up in the Northwest Auto Mall Village, Honda presenting the Pinder Report. And they're inviting you to stop by August 22nd for the 6th annual Honda on Akron show and shine.
Starting point is 00:54:53 You can enter your vehicle for just 10 bucks. It's free to attend and check out the cars and they're raising money for kids, support, cavalry. More details at VillageHonda.com. Well, the news today yesterday was indeed Steve Eiserman being handed his promotional papers. That's right. We're moving up the org chart. You're going to have more people underneath you.
Starting point is 00:55:13 I'm thinking a bigger role for you, Steve. Does this come with a raise? No. We'll raise you up the org charts. Steve, there's your raise. He's not the GM anymore. And this probably isn't unrelated to Dylan Larking, a Michigan native, their captain asking for a trade and still not being traded with Eiserman's rebuild. Seemingly needed a rebuild.
Starting point is 00:55:38 We had a lot of excitement this spring. There were trades. Yeah. Offer sheets. Like there, right? Like there was a lot that happened. Great tune. And there is a Larkin, Hellebuck, Werenskiy, that didn't have.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Can you imagine the chatter we would have been able to have if all those fell in the place? All the chatter. Yeah, because the Brady one was huge. The Flames made the Nemmack swap. There was a ton of deals at the draft. Like, it was a busy, busy. Three big ones haven't or aren't. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:56:10 I mean, it's all, we're not doing it, Columbus. Did you know, Dean? Everything's fine. There's nothing to see. What are you talking? I don't want you guys got all excited about. Love dollars. Everybody on the outside, not us on the inside.
Starting point is 00:56:21 We were talking that way. But on the outside. He wants to win there. Yeah. He said so, guys. Yeah. Just like, it was a great. That's right.
Starting point is 00:56:28 Yeah. He said he's committed. What more do you need to hear? Okay. Move on. Zegrae got signed yesterday. This was a nice by-low center-ish. It's kind of turned into that Kludgerui, part-wing, part-center.
Starting point is 00:56:44 But what he does is pile up points. He had a great season with the flyers that got rewarded. yesterday with a four-year $9.125 million contract. It's looked good in the orange of the flyers, silks fit in nicer there. And we heard from Trevor,
Starting point is 00:57:01 remember when he left, too much sun in LA. Seasonal affected mood. I wouldn't be seasonally affected as well because I don't know how the hell I can get to the rink when the beach is that way. Yeah, and they're so, they're so good at beach volleyball. You know, that distraction's not there.
Starting point is 00:57:17 It's so much beach volleyball members. came in blindfolded. Top gun. In your jeans? Is he a skilled player? Yeah. You're damn right he is. And the flyers seem to have him on track.
Starting point is 00:57:30 Not as a 1C. Otherwise, they wouldn't have done the Leo Carlson thing. But he's a big part of the future move forward. Nine plus. That's four. And then 29. Look at that. It is.
Starting point is 00:57:40 That was there to help the league. People throwing balloons at him? Come on. That's not fair. So Zegris has signed any sticker shock or anything after Leo Carson just seems normal now. There's no sticker shit. Not anymore.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Maybe if this was the first move of the off season, it would be a little, oh, geez, nine, that's something. But no, I mean, sounds about right. And I had it down. We could talk about it. It doesn't need to be today because it's not going away. But some of these guys that signed longer term deals. Oh, dude.
Starting point is 00:58:10 A month ago, two months ago, must be thinking, I was prepared to maybe make a little less, but I'm making. so much less. Like Conner's New Deal kicks in this year at 12 and a half. But it, like you could get 22 and a half and everyone would be happy to pay at this point. Because as you, and again,
Starting point is 00:58:34 it's apples and oranges and everything's different because we're talking about the elites. But what is K.L. McCar going to make. Whatever he wants. Like 18, 19, 17. Right? Does he want 22? Someone will give them. What is Quinn Hughes going to make? That one's eerily quiet. 18.
Starting point is 00:58:50 Is he? Lane Hudson just signed 8.5 million. Oh, man. Already getting Norris modes. Right. You're prepared to make less. I'm making $8 million. I'm already better than Bowenbara.
Starting point is 00:59:06 Some of these guys are going to make. Like Sanderson and Ottawa, what did he sign? That was wild back. That was before those big jumps, I think, happened, which. Oh, it is for sure. You're still, your point of the ones this spring for sure. This is where agent. would come in handy when you phone and say, what the,
Starting point is 00:59:21 were you thinking, you idiot in the agency? You're still making eight. Life ain't bad. Yeah. Don't complain. I almost wonder about Larkin where it's like, okay, is he a 1C, squint the little, is you a two C? Oh, it would be really good if he was your second best center.
Starting point is 00:59:37 And now you start looking at, well, geez, I mean, at that dollar that doesn't happen for the next four or five. Like maybe Larkin's worth more today than he was a month ago before the, we saw this explosion. I was listening to, it's an old one, but it was the Friedman podcast with him and Bukk, Tim Stutzla, 8 million, 8.3, Sanderson 8.5, both of them are 24 years of age. They are both star players. I mean, Montreal's in good shape with the- Damn it off. Nine, it's going to be like a $5 million players.
Starting point is 01:00:14 There are some teams that you could, there was really no way of knowing exactly to the extended it was going to be. It's like, yeah, caps going up, so dollars are going to go up. But the Leo Carlson thing just has really changed everything. And now it's, it's toothpaste is out of the tube. You're not going back. Yeah, okay. Well, we had we had talked about eight. Oh, how about nine? No, how about 16? Yeah. Like, it's, it's completely different ballparks now. Yeah. It's, it's, uh, everything's leveled up. Yeah. New level. Robertson. Robertson at 15 sounds fine, by the way now. I know a month ago that sounded a little crazy. Not anymore.
Starting point is 01:00:51 You score 40? You're 26? Yeah. Like, do it. Yeah. And from Alice's point of view, they're probably, we can't pay you that. But what's what the market is. Price to do them bid. This is, that might be the deal. Yeah. Fucking the flames. Safe way or co-op or anywhere. This is the cost for the.
Starting point is 01:01:13 The interesting one with Robertson is the, he wants to be there and they want him there. And so this feels like this isn't even the market. This is a how do I get the best deal, but also stay here. And they know that. If he's only in play here, I don't have to give them all 15. Maybe you're 13 and a half. Yeah, once you've been traded and rejected the trade and twice. So you really don't want to go and you're just looking to squeeze us. Dude, Seattle and Columbus, right? Every last is penny. Um, but yeah, the, the negotiations and how it's all going to work. And I know, I think it was Yandel was on, was it Yandel on spit and checklets said he heard that Cutter Goce is like 18?
Starting point is 01:01:48 Yeah, then I'll take 18. Yeah. It's a nice round number. Sounds good. Well, it's my buddy. We're both really good. Not a penny less, but I'll take 18 as well. I scored quite a bit more than that good.
Starting point is 01:01:57 Where do I sign? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Get on it Conroy. Not with Cutter, but you got cap space. Is there? There'll be some teams getting into some friction. Can you maybe be a landing spot somewhere?
Starting point is 01:02:11 Well, and if not the landing spot, don't get cute when your RFAs come up. Well, that's for everybody, for sure. Everyone for sure. But I mean, he did a, when you look at the Coronado dealer, you're like, okay, like they're paying him to be better. You're fine with that now. Six and three quarters.
Starting point is 01:02:24 Like, you kidding me? Forgot it probably scores 30 when he gets to. That's a third line for like. Yes. And then it's like, okay, you got wolf inked under eight. That's a good piece of work. Assuming he becomes what we all think he's going to become. Get your poop in a group.
Starting point is 01:02:39 That's right. We're going to need a little. Maybe not this year, but the year after that we're really going to need. Yeah, I don't know that the flames are going to be the release valve for these guys that have the trade protection because they're not there yet. But it's the Shane Wright situations are the ones that have no trade protection yet or an entry level coming out of it, whatever it is. But even say for like a cutter goat, just not saying it's going to be cutter goch. He has no trade protection. He has no Arb rights, but he needs a deal. If he said, I need 18 million, if there's some player out there who has.
Starting point is 01:03:13 I'm not necessarily tied to this team. I played here for two years. Yeah, okay, trade me. And if they'll pay me, then I'll play for them. I think, I think it's, it's going to be a wild setup here over the next couple of years because there's going to be players who think they're worth more than they are just because the entire marketplace has changed.
Starting point is 01:03:33 There'll be some guys who will be unbelievable deals cap-wise that suddenly becomes so valuable in trade. to a trickle. We already talked about Zach Whiteclout and his $2.75, crazy. What about now? Yeah. The guys that are bargains
Starting point is 01:03:51 are more sought after and valuable than ever. 2.75. Crazy, yeah. Agent, did you know the capital's going on with that? We'll keep moving. Tony Tux has got a deal. Anthony Manta's going to Jersey on a two-year deal.
Starting point is 01:04:08 He had 30 plus goals last year. He should call him. Tony Tux. 30 plus. Why are we calling him Tony Tucks? 30 plus, let's go. What a signing by Dubus. He wasn't going to commit much term.
Starting point is 01:04:19 So where would someone commit term? Only two years and four and a half to go to the Devils. The only downside for Dubas is he brought him in as an asset to move and they played so well. The playoffs. And the planes tried the same thing and got hurt. And he messed that up. Yes. Devils, that's a nice little free.
Starting point is 01:04:37 He should have done for the penguins what he did for the flames. It was just get hurt. We don't want to make the playoffs. just get hurt. And for the flame, he's like, please score a bunch of goals so we can trade you for something. Yeah, the, Gordiow Hatcher, his first game is a flame. Oh, yeah. It's the Canucks. Remember that?
Starting point is 01:04:51 All I do. I will see what he fits in Jersey, but he is a guy. You put him higher up the roster and surround him with talent. He can finish. Christ, it's AI. Shouldn't we be able to throw the, I was a little. He was the devil's like, come on. You got, get it. Even their logo. Can't do some MS paint there? Let's go. Figure it out.
Starting point is 01:05:08 Are we jack? Other NHL. Scuttle butts. What about the Flames? What's the Flames Nation? See what the nerds are nerding about? There's Ryan Pike. A clear trend has emerged through the Flames. GM, Craig Conroy's 23 trades. That's a lot of trades. You have to read the article.
Starting point is 01:05:29 I'm going to have to read this. You're not to do it. Speaking of Flames news, we get the schedule today. Pike breaking it down for us out of boy wrench. It's shockingly 84 games. Half at home. Half a way. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:41 You know what they should have done? I'm this just is my brilliance. Yeah, just occurred you know those two extra games. Yeah. They should have played in a, uh, Europe. You know what they have done that's not far from that. The league has guaranteed teams 41 home gates. There's no guarantee on 42, i.e.
Starting point is 01:06:00 We can take any one game we want and place it in Europe like they've done a lot in the last few years and we don't have to compensate you for it. You had 41 gates. Maybe you have 40. There it is. Guaranteed 41. We'll move you to. Last year. at the dome, everybody.
Starting point is 01:06:13 Look at that little patch. I believe that's going to be on the shoulders or the arms or something. A crest on the front of the jersey, that dome logo there top left. Sure, they'll do something special for all the alumni. I don't know if it's sarcastic or not. I know what it is. The top 42 alumnists, they're going to have one at every game. That's what I would do if I was a show.
Starting point is 01:06:34 That's the kind of stuff I would add. I'm an idea guy. You want to call some guys? No. Okay. So that's it. That just got dropped. Okay.
Starting point is 01:06:43 There it is. Sched. In Nashville, Tuesday, December 8th. Tuesday? Monday, March 15th. Tuesday, September 8th? December 8th.
Starting point is 01:06:54 Oh. It's a little close to Christmas. Let's see. Other one. He said March. Okay. Where's Vegas? I might be backward because here it says it's home.
Starting point is 01:07:05 That is home. Yeah. It's Nashville. This is only half the schedule. Do you have the other? Yeah, have the other house. Whatever.
Starting point is 01:07:11 whatever. By the way. Let's go. Next. Next. Opening night's going to be a dandy. They've decided that, thank you, Jack.
Starting point is 01:07:21 There we are. March, March, March. It still looks really busy. That looks Nashville. Oh, there is. April 3. Saturday. Oh, mama.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Gotta wait until then. No football in April. That's a shame. I don't need to go back to that stadium. Watch the Titans lose a lot. That's the U.S. games on opening night, the 29th of September, Red, they finally listened to you. They're moving the start of the season back
Starting point is 01:07:45 into September. We've got to get all those exhibition games. Now, here's the thing. A few of these games are going to suck, but the first one is a banger. The, we took a year off to get healthy Florida Panthers with the addition of Brady Kachuk against the defending champs, a divisional, former divisional rivalry. So different divisions now.
Starting point is 01:08:01 But the last two teams to represent these, what, the last four or five years in the cup final? Okay, let's go. Some cup winners there, yeah? Yeah. I believe you guys are you have that thing of ours, Carolina? Yeah, we're going to need that back. Just get that back.
Starting point is 01:08:16 Actually, yeah, you can come and get it, but we've got this banner we need to put up first. You can watch that. You just stand there on the blue line and watch it go up. No, note the unique start time. We're going to start at 3 p.m. Mountain on this Tuesday. So book your phony bologna sales meetings for 3 o'clock Mountain, Tuesday, September 29th, and buckle up.
Starting point is 01:08:33 There are two Canadian games sprinkled in as well. Montreal, Toronto, always a good way to start the season. One of the great rivalries to support in Vancouver, Edmonton, I believe I have a home and home to start the year. So there you go. Also interesting, and you brought it up, the September start to be starting regular season games in September. There's more to get in. I get that, but it's good. Everyone's on side except, no, well, we got to wait until Ohio State football is done before we sell tickets. It's like, sorry, there's a full league here. I can't wait for the Albert Smith's led Ranger.
Starting point is 01:09:06 Oh, me too. Yeah, but in a few years. we all know who's going to be better. Back to you, Ryan. Back to me. Okay, let's do it. I'll tell you what, this new Robert De Niro movie, I mean, it's, it's unbelievable.
Starting point is 01:09:25 It's the best movie. It's better than taxi driver. It's the best thing he's ever done. Oh, when did you see it? Well, I haven't seen it. No, but did you read the guys? But I can tell you.
Starting point is 01:09:33 I read the synopsis. I think it's the best movie he's ever done. What happens if it happens? All right. It doesn't matter. It doesn't. That's the whole point. No, it doesn't.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Jack. Here's your ARB cases. I don't know. It's bloody 16th the July guys. Some of these guys have signed except Braden Schneider, Incad deal. Robo's an interesting one because Arb could walk him to UFA if he accepts a one-year settlement. That's a pressure point to watch for out of this list for sure. Krebs is inked already. Perfetti got done yesterday.
Starting point is 01:10:04 If you're Robertson, do you want that? If you want leverage, sure. But I don't know. Like if he's just going to sign in Dallas. at the end of the day anyway, this gives him more leverage. But if he's actually entertaining leaving, careful. I think he's got the wheel here. Not much Dallas can do with this.
Starting point is 01:10:26 I guess just kind of flesh that out a little while you see it that way. See, why does he have leverage? Well, so if he wants to stay in Dallas, going to Arb puts more pressure on the stars than not going to Arb. Why? Because we just said, you can walk to you a fanier. If they're worried about losing him, he can accept the one year settlement and be gone as a you.
Starting point is 01:10:45 The threat of it is there, which puts more pressure on them to sign him. They can still trade him. Could. Like in a way, Dallas is like, we're in short term mode anyway. We got Ben coming back for a year.
Starting point is 01:10:58 We're in, okay, Robertson, come back for another year. It's 26, though. It's not like this is like an elder statesman. Keep him or lose and whatever. Like,
Starting point is 01:11:06 no, this is a guy that, like, he's, and if you believe he wants to be there anyway, it gives you, more time to sign him. So do you think Arb gives the stars more leverage? I'm just talking in this.
Starting point is 01:11:18 That's all we're talking about is the Arb here. I think it gives him a little more. To your point, I think it's still Jim Nill and Robertson are going to figure this out, but it don't hurt him with the, yeah, well, you know, if I don't get the number I want, maybe I'll do this. Robertson has the numbers. That's why he has all the leverage. Yes.
Starting point is 01:11:34 But for Nill, we'll have the player. And it's probably not going to be for $18 million on a one-year deal. Oh, why? Like that's the thing. Be leery of what some third party is going to pay your employee. I don't, what would the market be for Wingers? Caprizov makes 17. I don't know that I'd have them quite there, but close.
Starting point is 01:11:59 Like the thing with the stars as dangerous is what if the Arb says 17 was what Caprizov made. That was in a lower cap universe. We see them as similar comps. 17 and a half. And you're like, shit, I could have had this done at 15 a month ago. And Rob was like, hey, that's what the market said. This arbor is my window to the market. You'd love to know what Dallas is thinking.
Starting point is 01:12:23 It feels like they're getting cues. Because we can sit here and look at the numbers like, guys, scores 40. But if it were that cut and dried, he'd have been signed. They have a pinch for this year. And I think that's made it really tough. That's kind of two years they're happy to get money. There's some things that are going to go away.
Starting point is 01:12:39 They'll be happy to pay them. This year is tricky. That might be. what they're trying to work. And so how do you can't sign them long term now without the camp pinch this year because the AAV always has to be the same every year of deal. That's the challenge they're facing because I do think they like him. I do think he wants to sign there.
Starting point is 01:12:57 But they're in tight right now. Like I want to add right shot T. Yeah. If they think on a one year deal, they'll get a better number. Well, it's player elected. It's not team elected. So they didn't have any say. But it also does pick them an offer sheet.
Starting point is 01:13:09 It might be like Jim might say to Jason, hey, we're going to get this done. I don't want to get an offer sheeted where it's out of our hands here. Just go to our, but again, the player's a guy that has to make the call with his agent whether do it or not. He's not. He'll be happy with one year, you would think. Oh, yeah, and the cap goes up, so I'll just attack on another. And then I get to go back to market again.
Starting point is 01:13:32 Worst case in there, he gets a one-year deal and he gets 15, whatever it is, doesn't matter. And he breaks his lake. What happens then? The Dallas comes in and says, we'll give you 11 a year. No, but that's what I mean. Is there some risk? For sure. There's some risk for sure.
Starting point is 01:13:47 Yeah. Now, cooked into that risk is like, what are the odds that happening? For sure. I'm just saying worst case scenario for Jason Robertson on a one-year deal is that you don't score 40. You score,
Starting point is 01:13:58 what if you're healthy and you only score 12? Yeah. Even just 22. I don't expect it at all. But that's the downside that Robertson's going to be. And the flip side is like put up 50 this year. You're going to get more 50 and son. like you're getting Caprice on my keep rolling world cup continues we've got our finalists
Starting point is 01:14:20 argentina miraculously what in the hell's going on they were down to inel to egypt like a week and a half ago a week ago and scored too late to tie and then oh yeah we'll just throw in another one before extra time to advance in incredible fashion they did it again against england yesterday who decided we got our one we don't have to try anymore and it was the full court press from argentina messy setting up both goals unbelievable stuff it's good for for us at my house because we all picked a team. Mm-hmm. And whichever team wins, that's where we're going to go visit next year.
Starting point is 01:14:52 Oh, my goodness. Wow. Well, with that in mind, do we have scenes from Buenos Aires? Because that's, if Argentina wins, look at this beautiful city you can be visiting. They seem to like their soccer here. This is as a, the result came. It's to explain this to Americans. They're like, whoa, I've seen Super Bowl print.
Starting point is 01:15:15 It's like, where is this and what is going on? Is this festival city? This is like, this is a big sporting event, eh? Saturday after Alanis led out. Is that the no. No, no, no. No, the lady, the tinsel, Stanley Cup lady. No.
Starting point is 01:15:30 Didn't see any fights. I know that's, uh, I'd be so unhappy. Stano, I'd say, how far to my car? Car? You haven't been to buy. How am I going to get out of it? My feet are killing me. Here is the play-by-play announcer from Argentina.
Starting point is 01:15:44 This is the Argentinian broadcast, as you will notice immediately. What's he saying, John. What's he saying, Jack? Oh. Oh. Oh. Yeah. No, daemina.
Starting point is 01:16:11 No, he's spitting. His wedding. His face has gone red. I thought Peter Marr got excited. This guy. Pete, don't be embarrassed to what the Abbe. That was a fine call. What a call.
Starting point is 01:16:43 When did Argentina trade for Messi? Yeah. Is it a sign of trade? It says he's been... Trilliving had him, but couldn't get a nail. I feel like his game really picked up after he went to Argentine. Interesting note. I'll have to get Jack to dive into that.
Starting point is 01:16:59 Third place games on Saturday, France, England, disappointing for all right. Who wants to play that game? I can't believe they have it, actually. It is actually, yeah. Yeah, I don't disagree. I'm sure it's a sneaky stupid stab at more money for. 100% is. They're not talking about a 64-team World Cup.
Starting point is 01:17:16 I'm like, Jesus, guys. Imagine if the NHL took the two teams in Austin, the conference finals to play a best. Best of Seven Constellation series? Oh, my God. Hey, we could sell some tickets. Maybe there's a revenue, revenue. We're revenue.
Starting point is 01:17:31 Yeah, Montreal. Who's going to finish third? Get out of here. Okay, we continue to move. I think that's everything on soccer. Yes, sir. Although we had James Winston. James get buried in there.
Starting point is 01:17:44 Jameses is whatever. James's party. James is going to stop playing football and just travel with a camera crew at all times. Why do you hate James Winston? love him. That's the whole point, is that him playing quarterback, fine. Him just out in real life?
Starting point is 01:17:57 Incredible. Red has no time. He is a knight of the roundtable. I believe that means he's true for England. It's like the YouTube specialists, those kids' shows where he just yells. It's like, oh, you're yelling, so
Starting point is 01:18:21 it must be highly emotion. He was at the Norwegians earlier doing the big row. He's doing what Red did. He's not playing. This is what I have. travel around to the World Cup camera crew and tell you what though you would have a decision to make
Starting point is 01:18:35 if you were offered the kind of money that Fox and these networks have been paying him I'm going to need you to go to the world top trust me jealousy is all dress up and as a knight we'll get you a foam sword that's incredible just dancing around going to these games
Starting point is 01:18:54 you're going to pay me what? Yeah bring the crew let's go we'll film everything Stan Peters and action this weekend, United and red and white. A little revenge coming for the owls. Jack, you're going to get back to McMahon. They were so good when you were there on the stamp bowl. 58 points of the hundred and the argoes.
Starting point is 01:19:09 Let's go. Let's go, Jack. Look at that matinee on Saturday. 2 p.m. Oh, waiting for this. Look at that. Somewhere in there, Jack's buddies are ripping their tarps off, trying to start a section of guys with no jerseys.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Dang, I'm out of to try that again. Tars off? Tarts off section. Tried. Well, weather looks like it'd be perfect. 32 on Saturday. Oh, is that perfect tailgating weather. Goodness.
Starting point is 01:19:36 A couple of cold strengths. A couple cold ones, Jack. I'm right. Calgary FC back in action this weekend as well. They'll welcome Halifax Town. Absolutely that. Slobber knock the wonders last time in Calgary. Okay.
Starting point is 01:19:49 Can I throw some, I'm an idea guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I see what you're building here. You know what I'm going to say, right? Yeah, yeah. Don't do it at the same time. Don't do it the same. What a day of sport we could have in our great city. and let's keep it great, Farkas, for sakes.
Starting point is 01:20:04 Fricken Nensky. Also, surge big weekend. They got the Friday Sunday going on at Win Sport with two home games coming up. Sea Bears, Dean. I know your big sea bears booster. I know. I'm a daughter is. 7.30 Friday night, 4 p.m. Sunday.
Starting point is 01:20:19 It's big local sports weekend. No excuses, folks. No excuses. Get out there. Enjoy the fun. Did you see that one lady? She was kayaking way up in northern Canada. and then the polar bear started swimming towards.
Starting point is 01:20:30 Oh, really? You turn. This is dicey. Yeah. And it's not like, hey, I'll just get to land and be fine like it's a shark. No, that thing. And those things are even faster on land. Yeah, probably better off here.
Starting point is 01:20:41 Jeez. I have a paddle I can feed them with. I've never seen this before. This is a new kind of party, which I'm all about. We've got to add one of these for Stampede. This is a wind tunnel party. So everyone's standing in this room and it looks pretty normal until, will they crank up the wind
Starting point is 01:20:58 as the beat drops of course obviously what? Yeah I know I want it There's no way that's real I don't know if it's real it up but I want it That looks deadly
Starting point is 01:21:14 Well they have I mean that's they have the eye fly things Or whatever around yeah yeah But it's different You don't move up And there's not a thousand of you And there isn't a DJ I want this to be real
Starting point is 01:21:25 I've done that I love flying to My idiot buddies is up Hell yeah. I feel like it might be real. My concern then, I'm going to be the negative guy. Those look like drinks. There'd be the odd person that gets over served.
Starting point is 01:21:40 And then when this happens, the body control is lost. I'd be grabbing guys shorts right when the beat drops and they come fomp right out of there. Finally, it's at the end of Stampede. There's one job you don't want a stampede. and that's dealing with all the porta bodies at the end of Stampy because you get all these tenses. Oh, there's a lot of money to be made. There is.
Starting point is 01:22:05 It's not pretty, though. And sometimes, well, we'll just let the video speak for itself. As the fire department's here to hell. I don't really understand. There you go. Bitch and notice. Bro, come out. You're going to get out there.
Starting point is 01:22:21 There's a dude in the bottom. There's a thing get out. I mean, I'm fucking self. Get it way back. We're going to cut all the way now. Kansas City. Way back. They got in there, but now getting out to challenge.
Starting point is 01:22:34 And it does feel like the fire department are feeling like there's better use of their time. Probably, yeah. It's not the call you want to be on. Man, bathing and diarrhea needs help out of the porta pot. That deliberately jumps into a... It's all choice. It didn't just fall in. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:53 And then in the firemen are pissed off. They're sour. They have to be here. Why are you have to leave here? The good news of the firemen, they come in the fire trucks that they obviously have. They have the hoses, right? That's a good point. They are aggravated.
Starting point is 01:23:12 Fells, man. This is in Kansas City, as you can see on the back of the fire department, insurance. Can you imagine how ill this person? How small is this person? I don't know how you get in. That's what I kind of do. You know how you get out. Oof.
Starting point is 01:23:28 Not ideal. I guess for running from the cops, you might be. You would hide well there. That's a hide and seek spot. You're not going to get fined. Yeah, nobody's looking. You're going to win. Put your arm through.
Starting point is 01:23:41 They're just yelling at this guy. Give you a hand. No, I'm not giving you a hand. Get out. They hose him down at the end. I don't know if we need to see that. He is covered quite to. From head to.
Starting point is 01:23:54 Yeah, that's, uh. Have you seen slumdog millionaire? Oh, I have. Is that the opening scene? Yes. I think so. No, boy, no. Oh, dear. No, boy. What a send-off. Is that it?
Starting point is 01:24:12 Whatever kind of a bad day you're having, it's not that bad. I'll guarantee it. We're the fire department or for that guy that decided to climb into an outhouse. That is your pinned to report this Thursday, July 16th for our good friends at Village Honda. Your dealership for life since 1987 under the Big Canada flag in the Northwest Automol. And again, the sixth annual Honda, an accurate show and shine, noon till 4, August 22nd. If you're the fire department, would you say to the cops? No, you deal with this. This is not.
Starting point is 01:24:41 There's no fire. You can try. Yeah, I don't know. It's the whole cat's the hierarchy there. I think this is fire department. Who gets first call on that? If you accidentally hit him with the saw, then the ambulance people have to deal with it. That might have been the move.
Starting point is 01:24:55 But I'm on. Firefighters put up with a lot of shit. I mean, they do put, I'm not intended. And I do like, I'm not helping him. Yeah. Climb out. You can get. get out.
Starting point is 01:25:05 You got in and you get out. Give me your, I need a hand. I'll make the hole bigger. I'll cut out wide. Get out. No. Not touching you.
Starting point is 01:25:11 You're on your own, dude. They're just blasted them with the house. Even the guy that would own the porta potty comes. He's like, now they've cut my frigging portopati. You got to pay me, you got to buy me a new one.
Starting point is 01:25:24 You got to go to small claims court with the poo swimmer and be like, this guy owes me five grand, ruined a porta potty. Cloud lawn. Seriously. It's. Yeah, it's.
Starting point is 01:25:33 you got to have done something real bad to be hiding in the what if you drop something like your wallet or it's gone it stays yeah I'm not worried about that card getting stolen and I'm certainly not going head first how about one of those real long rubber gloves that well yeah if you wouldn't have one of those at the time
Starting point is 01:25:57 because maybe that's what it was is he dropped his phone or something in there he's reaching little I'm not by so we're thinking he's hiding his life of crime has taken him to I believe there was yeah you're not getting in that with those some other angles we're not going to explore them though
Starting point is 01:26:15 it's deranged behavior that's not ideal for sure coming up in January Jasper Pond Hockey tournament we've two time winners two time champions here back with was Barnburner is up here
Starting point is 01:26:29 will it be a trifecta this year Only time will tell. You can be there as well as it's in Jasper at the beautiful Jasper Park Lodge. We've had a huge renovation going on. It's going to be spectacular when it's done. Oh, he was spectacular. I would love to tell you how because a website would be good, but I can tell you this is your last chance to register for the 2026.
Starting point is 01:26:54 Yeah. The team in the red won't quit, Dean, I'll tell you that right now. Coming up January 23rd to 25th and 2026, the Jasper Pond Hockey Tournament. As long as Jack isn't too hung over, head of the net, son. Glad we talked. Lumbers. Glad we talked about last year's event. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:11 Oh, it's going to be hot this weekend. People are going to be just dying. What am I doing in the winter? It's too hot. I don't know that it'll look like that right now. If you had a job, Jasper, you do. January, yeah. Maybe the 2027 event.
Starting point is 01:27:23 Oh, do we have the, no, good. Good then. Details. It's in the details. You want to talk about the clothes? Sure. All right. Nationgear.ca is the website.
Starting point is 01:27:42 Levelware. We did some stuff with levelware earlier this year. Very good threats. The garments are, you know, they breathe and they're comfortable. Great on the golf course. Just don't let a bear come after you.
Starting point is 01:27:55 Yeah. But if you go to nationgear.ca right now, you will see the, the ads, we got hats, we got shirts, we got polos, we got hoodies,
Starting point is 01:28:05 all of that. of thing. Being a sports fan isn't a season, it's personality. It's the offseason social club. Guys got anything else to say about it? See that dingbat trying to get a hole in one up in Edmonton the other week? Well, I, it was going on. I know that there were the guys, Milk Boys were at Heritage Point. They were trying to hit a hole in one. Right about the same time. It's hard to do. Our guys in Edmonton were trying to hit a hole in one.
Starting point is 01:28:36 I think people think it's easy. It's definitely not. But anyway, this is, not necessarily tied to either of those two. It's the offseason social clubs and brands, the brandware that you can get at nationgear.ca with levelware. Decide to get some barber level work gear going. It's good. Cranked up.
Starting point is 01:28:53 Let's go. Let's go. That's right. GMC employee pricing is here. It won't last forever. It's not like they're going to put on. Are you kidding me right now? This time.

Starting point is 01:31:06 We've got the Stampeders this weekend at home, and we have a World Cup final. in Spain and Argentina. We heard about this photo that Messi took with Yamal when Jamal was a kid. He was like three or four months old. We're doing some photo shoot for some charity. Messi's 20 years old. Okay, we're going to pair a kid with a player at Barcelona and
Starting point is 01:31:30 we're going to get a pitcher. Right. Messi was the player for Barcelona and the kid that was months old was young Lameen Yamal who now plays at Barcelona and is the next great. player on the planet. They will go head to head for a World Cup. Spain has never lost with Yemal on the roster and Leo's looking to defend his World Cup title with Argentina. I'm going to say they both get a goal or an assist in said final, which goes on Sunday. And we like the stamps plus the points at home, Jack, ready for some revenge on the owls Saturday at 2 p.m.
Starting point is 01:32:03 There you have it. When's the footy game? Sunday afternoon. There you have it. You got the golf. You got the footy. Stals, calves. If you're up early, the golf's unreal. Sure. Early riser. Why can't I just get up when I want and watch the Reese? You can do that too.

Starting point is 01:32:50 Can they tie? Then you go to both countries? I've been to Spain. Oh, yeah. Buenos Aires looks pretty good. When is it nice in Buenos Aires? In our winter. That's their summer.
Starting point is 01:33:01 I can't go on the winter. Can't go on the winter. Spring. That's their fall. I could spring. Anyway, I'll be beautiful. On the bigger things, Dean. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:33:11 So what would the winters in Argentina would be like? No, it depends on the far southern. B.A. is going to be better weather than South to the South. You chilly at the South. B.A. Baracus. Buenos Aires. Do you know what B.A. stood for? Buenos Aires.
Starting point is 01:33:29 Buenos Aires Baracus? B.A. You know what we're talking about, Jack? Bad attitude. Oh, no. Is what B.A. stood for for B.A. Baracus. No. Oh, no. It was right.
Starting point is 01:33:41 So he wasn't Argentinian. That show was, uh, Of course, George Pappard. Stu Pappard was in with B.A. Baracus, of course, notably related to Stu Pappard. For real? Mm-hmm. Really? Are they close in that rink?
Starting point is 01:33:59 Yes. Can I just buy it from the city? I think it's in, uh, they want that air. Repair. Yeah, I think it's, well, I'll repair it. It's showing a change. I think they want to give it one of these, and then do one of these. They've got a, uh, two, they've already a building.
Starting point is 01:34:13 They've done. going to come with why would you they're not going to tear down stew till the new ones are ready but it's going to be a twin rink same piece of property more ranks what do you have said oh staircases to get to your dress room and stew it's time to go what
Starting point is 01:34:27 you fancy pants keep the rank we don't have enough I don't care if there's two more we need 10 more 630 a.m just build a dome over it if the roof's leak and just build a dome over top of the old ring well that's what I do in my house everything's not right.
Starting point is 01:34:47 I just blow that right up. Yeah. Dare that shit down. Let's start over, honey. Yeah, let's go right back to it. What do you see, bastards? Question. On bike lanes, though.
Starting point is 01:34:58 I'm doing a dinner on Sunday. Oh. I want to do bontan meats. What do I do? Well, just go steaks. Barbecue season. What kind of peeps? That family.
Starting point is 01:35:10 Oh, God. Don't waste your money. No. Does you want to impress them, or are you trying to get them out of your house? neither. What do you want then, I guess? That's what I'm asking.
Starting point is 01:35:21 You know what? It's a summary. A Greek recipe. Oh. A Greek feast. Like you hear about another state. What about like skirt steak? Try tip.
Starting point is 01:35:33 Ah, sublecky and Greek chicken. I don't like Greek. You don't like Greek? Not really. I understand. I'm the outlier to it, but Greek's delicious. Love spocky. Well, then you don't have much choice because you don't like meatloaf and you don't like Greek food.
Starting point is 01:35:50 So I guess it's burgers and hot dogs. Steak. Triple A, I'll burn a beef. Let's go. Well, that's all I was saying. The Picana, do the Brazilian one. It's like that tri-tip thing. I think it's a tri-tip.
Starting point is 01:36:03 It's got the big fat cap. And you're actually laid on there and you burn that bastard. Sear the shank. Really? And they're flaring up. Yeah, yeah. That's my grill all the time. Anyway, there's flame.
Starting point is 01:36:15 everywhere. What do you do with Piccana? No. Hot dogs. Going to go to Bon Ton. If you're going to have some, if you have, it doesn't matter if they're family. If it's just more than two people, you want to have something that's just what ribs. Ribs are good.
Starting point is 01:36:33 Could do ribs. Beef, pork, pork, pork, both. All the above, trick question. Bonton meats. I'll talk to my buddy. What about a meat platter? I like the meat platter. You get the sausage, the chickens, the steaks. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:48 You don't like lamb, but you can chop that shit up. Just everyone. Meets don't clash. I do like doing the chicken ribs. You hear it all the time. Chicken ribs, chicken ribs. But I kind of feel like steak. Do it all.
Starting point is 01:37:02 Do the meat platter. Just do a meat platter. Meat platter. Come in that. And some potato salad. It's jacking buddies. Goldslaw, potato salad, a Caesar salad. Maybe some garlic bread.
Starting point is 01:37:14 Yeah, yeah. Maybe a potato skin? Do you like the potato skins? I don't mind the potato skins, but I like the twice-baked potatoes. I'm just talking to make it easier for you because you can get those things pre-made in the oven. I feel like the potato skin has been left behind as a appetizer. A fun appetizer.
Starting point is 01:37:36 People realize it's just kind of the potato. I have to put all this stuff on it for it to be good. It's left over. I could just do all of this on nachos or something. something else. It is a good vehicle for sour cream cheese and like chives and bacon bits. Yeah. It's about it.
Starting point is 01:37:52 It's about it. All right. Well, Bontan it is. I'll talk to Greg. Because it won't be long. Got a rotissary? I do.
Starting point is 01:38:01 Really? Those are fun. Yeah. Those are fun. Do a, uh, uh, porketa. I did one of those recently. Didn't work.
Starting point is 01:38:10 Okay. Although it wasn't from Bonton, did you sure? It wasn't from our ideas, man. Now you're yelling at me. It's Greek. You're an idiot. That's just why I'm asking. Meat platter is the way I'd go, buddy.
Starting point is 01:38:22 Okay. Bontan meets 25, 26 years, best, photo best deli meat market and Calgary and southern Alberta. World. World. There it is. There's Greg. So happy.

Starting point is 01:39:35 What do you call a person who doesn't fart in public? My kids are going to love this. A private tutor. You should, what it should be is, yeah, what do you call maybe a teacher? Do you want a private tutor just to bring in the, or is it just person? I'm just looking to maybe punch up the joke. While your high brow.

Starting point is 01:40:18 Ila. Frank Saravelli has reported that cappuccine Assasino and Tong Tong Tong Sahura as frontrunners for the Wings job. Really? Of the two, who is the best fit? I missed the Tung Tung Sahur show, wherever that was red, apparently. What? Knows a lot.
Starting point is 01:40:36 I was lost at the time. I remain lost. Yeah. Cappuccino Assasiano. Those are fighters in the Mortal Kombat? Yeah, sure. Mortal combat.
Starting point is 01:40:53 Is it Mortal Kombat or? Or what's that game that the kids play? Fortnite. Fortnite. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I know. Thanks, Frank. And to Island.

Probably supporting the kids. Doug doesn't, you know, you're going to be a lazy bastard and sit around in the shade all day? It's on top of it.
Starting point is 01:41:26 Yeah, probably supporting the kids, doing all I can. Just doing all I can. Thank you, Nick. Thanks, Nick. Chris from Long Island is in. Oh, yeah. $5.00. Left hip is now strong.
Starting point is 01:41:40 Getting my right one done in September. Flayers took a long shot, and now all salaries will go way up. A rising tide lifts all boats. Chris, we live in the mountainous region. We don't know about tides. if it does lift all boats. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:56 He's not talking with Zegger's. He's talking with Carlson. Yeah, he's basically that the Flyers changed the market. Ruined it for everybody. Yeah, well, it's great for the players. Danny Breer got me traded out of Buffalo. Yeah, he hated your guts. Shoot. A lot of, and a lot of, like for a little guy,
Starting point is 01:42:14 a lot of hatred. He was made in spirit of a little bastard. It's all right, right. Oh, yeah. I'm not sure if that's sticky. It's what kind of go to you said. Thanks, Chris. Good to hear about your hip. Glad to hear about the hip, Chris.
Starting point is 01:42:29 There's the working man. He's back in, five bucks. People forget. This city was fed up with Eisenman by 96. It was on the trade block. Good thing they won cups in 97 and 98. Detroit didn't always love him. Okay.
Starting point is 01:42:38 A little context from the Detroit, the Motown local. That's because he had a shitty attitude dead. Oh, dear. But then 97, you win back to back. Yeah. Yeah, we like it again. Because you need that kind of a revenge tour as, GM in his next stop to
Starting point is 01:42:57 feel the same way, I'm thinking. Maybe. He's done a lot of winning. Everyone's going to love the player. Yeah. Nicketory. Last game at the dome is against the Vancouver Canucks. Now, are we attending?
Starting point is 01:43:19 That's a long way off. It's something we should consider. Because it takes us a while to get things. You don't go too late. Nation vacation. Let's go to the dome. Saddle Dobry's Way place. It's one of those things.
Starting point is 01:43:36 I feel like I will miss the idea of the building more than the building itself. I'm more of the other way, but I've also spent way more bloody time in that hole as a kid and stuff when it wasn't prehistoric. There's a lot of cool little nook and cranny one-off. It's the last hockey-specific building in the league. They're all event centers now. None will ever be hockey-specific.
Starting point is 01:43:57 Once I step foot in the new building, I will quickly forget what the old building offered. And if you're going to ask the question, like, would you rather be the last game of the dome of the first one in the new events now? That probably is the real. Everyone's going to want to be at the new one. Well, I'm going to do both.
Starting point is 01:44:13 Come on, Craig, hook me up. See, I think there's going to be a lot of people who will want to be at that they're going to want to get in on the dome. Because they'll have all kinds of time to get to the new building. If they don't get there the first night. But it's limited now what you can do. The other thing we'll see is people that are like, I'm going to hit all the rinks in the league.
Starting point is 01:44:28 This is the season. If you haven't been to the dome, 42 games left. I'll tell you what, if I'm... It doesn't make the playoffs, of course. If I'm Murray or whoever's running the thing down there. Yeah. You're going to be watching. People are going to be stealing shit.
Starting point is 01:44:43 I want a chair. People are going to be, I need this side. A ratchet set coming in the door. Yeah. You have those metal detectors set up. You know what I want. Coming in there with their hand tools. I want that damn Jumbotron at the pocket dogs,
Starting point is 01:44:57 1-1. No. Like 2-1? the dog's trying to lock down that lead in the third. Hang on. Yeah. Hang on. I want that pocket dog jumbo-tron right on the studio here, just hanging over it.
Starting point is 01:45:06 That'd be a good. What is one thing you would like from the dome? Rett got outbid on the troughs, the piss troughs at the old Bill's stadium where you can't miss out on the pocket dogs jump a try. Yeah. I want the draft machine because it's, the beer gets your right wasted. Oh, yeah. The two kilometers of heroin beers, baby. This is, it's not, it's all accurate.
Starting point is 01:45:32 How many times we had Pete, Ken King would come down. That's not quite exactly. No, no, no, really. You've pushed a two,
Starting point is 01:45:39 two, two at the dome, you know. People go in before the game, and they pound four beers, and they grab two more, and then walk 50 flights of stairs to get to their. Well,
Starting point is 01:45:49 these beers are hitting me. Oh, my God, these beers, whoof. It's because they're lightheaded and out of shape. Because they hammered six beers, and hammered six beer before a park drop.
Starting point is 01:46:01 Yeah. Well, think about it, because we know, maybe there's something in there that we can, We can get for you. You want a chair. There's a lot of them. I see. Well, I remember for years sitting out behind the dome,
Starting point is 01:46:15 there was a whole bunch of chairs because they were. Three hundreds, they knew. Remember that? They had extra chairs. Tons of those blue chairs were just sitting outside. Could have got you one. I get in trouble for stealing. I don't like to.
Starting point is 01:46:30 I know. Maybe a stool from Duddies. Oh. Good time. A lot of memories there, Dina. Yeah, be sad. I wonder if they'll have a bar in the new building that you'll be fond of.
Starting point is 01:46:42 Bet through 6.5 has that? Minus 10,000. Yeah, probably. Yeah. There's Big Bear. Little Big Bear. One goal to assist in eight games of the men's A. He's got a tryout invite from a bad Euro national team.
Starting point is 01:46:58 Tidy work for the big lurch. That's a boy. Where's he got the passport? National team. Yeah, Big Bear was talking about his son. What do I do with this kid? Maybe I'll just put them in our men's league. He's excelling.
Starting point is 01:47:09 Go play from Moldova. That's great. It's only three points in eight games. Albert Smiths would never. He's played against men. That's right. He's playing against men. Hopefully Conroy's paying attention to the big lurch.
Starting point is 01:47:24 That boy, big bear. Druncle stew. The Frenched pork chops from Bontan are delicious. Okay, unpack that for me. What does that mean? Frenched? ball. Either way they slice it.
Starting point is 01:47:38 Okay. Is that like a butterfly pork chop in a way? Or is that just cutting the cutting of the bone? Because you get those butterfly where they take the thicker cut and then they'll do this. And then if you want to put stuff in it, you can put it back together. Yeah. Yeah, I do believe the French, because they'll do that with ribs, like a rib roast or whatever,
Starting point is 01:48:01 how they carve it, how they. cut it up. Greg would be so disappointed right now. I'm sorry, Greg. I apologize. But good to know. Yeah, that's the thing. French pork chop is a bone in cut typically from the rib section of the loin where butchers carefully trim meat and fat from the exposed rib bone. It's like a tomah. Got it.
Starting point is 01:48:22 Okay. This technique known as frenching creates an elegant presentation. I haven't Frenched in a long time. Maybe if you put out a good meal on the weekend. Maybe. It's a good start. If Bonton. All kinds of shit in my teeth.
Starting point is 01:48:39 Oh, geez. You'll get your voice. Jeez. Settled out. That's all. Got some bacon in my teeth. All right, buddies. How was the show today, Jack?
Starting point is 01:48:53 Good show. I'm kind of worried what the hell I'm going to do now. Go to Montana. Figure out life. For my sake. So what are you worried about what you're going to do. He's worried that he doesn't have to work a lot for the next, you know, month and a half.
Starting point is 01:49:04 So you get some time off. After working a lot and now you are the 99 year old like stress bag. I've never met a more senior citizen 27 year old. Worried. What am I going to do? Well, I got all this time off. There's too many options. What am I going to do?
Starting point is 01:49:23 No, there's no options. What do you mean? Go anywhere, do anything. Travel. Make out with strangers. I don't know. Listen to music. They got the hobby.
Starting point is 01:49:32 So you get most of the summer off? That's unbelievable. Jack's like it's just the worst. It's terrible. I might just go in anyway. I might just go in. I need the football back. Fuck.
Starting point is 01:49:43 You should go and watch the Steelers OTAs or whatever it is. Honestly. Do whatever one. Maybe. Get hyped up about Aaron Rogers' a 62-year-old season. Go get it. I'd invite you to my place,
Starting point is 01:49:55 but you're depressing as hell. You can't have that vibe. I don't want everybody. Everybody be on a boat. Jack's sitting up in the front. I think we could be doing some editing right now. Why do you hire you? fat Mike. I didn't think Tomlin was that bad.
Starting point is 01:50:08 Jack, what a lake! I'll be doing some AI some thumbnails for Twitter, but we're not doing shows every day. It'll be okay, Jack. Trust me. It'll be friggin September before you know it, and we'll all be back in hearing grumpy. That's what you should worry.
Starting point is 01:50:24 We'll allow you permission to worry in September. You'll be all right. Yeah. All right, buddies. That's it. Have a great weekend. Jeez. Were you going to do a Look like I got a X handle?
Starting point is 01:50:41 Yeah. Do you use that or no? I didn't even know it. I'll go talk to Red or his alias at Redster 44. There you go. You can change your Twitter handle now. It's like, oh, I probably could have changed it a number of years ago. I just never thought it was necessarily that important.
Starting point is 01:50:58 They got to just keep it now. The one else is going to need 964. No, that's definitely. not going to be a commodity. What is your accent? What did it say there? The Rettster. Rettster 44.
Starting point is 01:51:11 I had a Twitter account. I put a picture of nachos on there. That's far where it started. Nice. I do think, I like when people will tag you and stuff and have you. He's not. Last signed in a decade ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:51:26 Do you think you know your password to get in? God, never. No chance. Never. Let's see what his last tweet is. Do you have any bets on dates? Can you find me? Yeah, I got you here.
Starting point is 01:51:36 Oh, boy, it's a while ago. 2019. 20, 23, November 21st. 23. What was the tweet? It was when we launched our bombarding to belong. You have a little retweet. Oh, that's not.
Starting point is 01:51:55 Thanks, Rhett. I don't think that was me. I think so. I was running your kid. Access. Chubbler's doing a great job running your socials. Maybe it's Kirsch still. No way.
Starting point is 01:52:03 The US. I did. Yeah. See you, guys. See you, buddies.
