What's going on buddies? Welcome back to another episode of Barnburner on a Friday. We made it. It's been a short week, but we've made it. What is going on, you filthy animals? It's me, young boomer here. We got Pinder, we got Warner. We're ready to go. Yes, I think Brett and I have combined for about 10 minutes of sleep in the last two days. Bobby, just you carry the way. Give me some sunglasses, damn it. Welcome to the program. Young Boomer. How are you?
We're feeling great.
You reached out.
Was the show that bad yesterday?
I thought the show could have used some help yesterday.
It was a bit of a mail in it.
The show needed a little Bobby Germany action in here today.
Wow, always continues that.
You know what Bobby was thinking?
That show needs more of me.
It's until I give this guy to tap.
Welcome to the program.
It's presentation of Bet365.
Yes, we are alive in the McLeodlaw Studios.
Four of us again, producer Jack.
Robert Munich, the retro inspiration for Keel Makar's kids' names and myself, Fry. Pinder, what else have we got going on today?
We're going to react to Flames.
We got a guest joining us.
We got a team in the World Series already.
When we Calvary Flames got blown out again, is that the fourth or fifth blowout?
Depends how you view Vancouver, I suppose.
I would consider that a blow.
When you're playing the Vancouver, well, when you're playing the Vancouver Canucks who had 58 points last year and they score four goals on you, that's a little bit of a blowout.
The problem becomes it's in one period.
It's a period.
It's a blowout.
It's a blowout.
Yeah.
Period.
The period was a blowout.
Anytime the Vancouver Canucks beat you by three, I would consider it a blowout.
That is not a good hockey team.
They held the last night.
Canucks said what, like 17 goals against the oldest of two games?
Come on.
Give a little respect to the flames.
High fly.
Have we seen the last five games for the Vancouver Canucks?
They look worse than the Calgary Flames right now.
You don't think so?
I don't watch the Vancouver Canucks.
I do, unfortunately, for my job.
and it is rough.
Philly's in that group.
L.A.
and have a win.
Rock bottom for Philly
might have been losing
2-1 to Detroit last night
in the Misery Bowl.
Yeah, that was bad.
Chicago was kind of in there,
but now the Badaards back.
I'd say they're clear out of it now.
Yeah, we love shoeing office chipping in
Baudards.
I think got three points in two games.
Either way,
bomb-burner presentation of Bet365
this season.
Play to win early.
Bet 365, the home of winning early.
If you want to join the program,
you can join us in the live YouTube chat.
Attach a monetary donation to your comment, Jack,
and you will get that message on the show.
We'll send the money to the youth centers of Calgary.
Great work with our at-risk youth in our fair city.
A cloud law reminder,
legal issues keeping you up at night, Rhett?
Not so much.
No.
That's good.
Other stuff.
Okay.
All right.
Well, they're there for you, whatever it is.
Maybe you need a will.
Maybe you're like, geez, what am we going to do with this?
I made this screws.
McDuck pool full of
Orbid, full of gold coins.
And if, you know, you got to make,
you got to have that in place.
I don't think, you know, you don't go plans on dying.
But you need a well.
It's a Friday.
The sun's shining.
It's supposed to be 20 degrees day.
And we're ready to talk about wrette's death.
We're talking about wrette.
Maybe it's premature to my inside and get your damn will done.
Water.
Maybe you're ready to commit an assault and you need some legal advice.
Don't I'll be that.
Calgary.
Uh,
through and through Calgary Roots.
Proud to be here and best at what they,
do. Let's get to the reaction from last night's contest. It is the lead story for Jason dot mortgage. Bobby,
you're a young guy. Jack can barely read. He can count a little. Are you fluent in mortgagees?
Do you understand how they work? Are you familiar? Or is it like, yo, someone in my family,
please help me out with this. I don't get it. Yeah, definitely the latter there. I do have a mortgage
myself. I don't know what's going on. I just threw that to my dad. My dad. My dad,
That's one of the smartest guys out there.
He's done this a whole bunch of times.
Right.
He led the way on that one for sure.
But I could also use Jason.
Dot Mortgage out there.
Well, this is the thing.
This lead story of the day is brought to you by Jason.
Dotmorgias, not dot com, dot mortgage.
Jason,
you're tired too.
Exhausted here.
Plus, you have one of those high.
Oh, high test.
Here we go.
Okay, Jason Homonick named Canada, one of Canada's top 30 mortgage brokers.
Here's the thing.
Let's say, for example, Bobby, credit card, line of credit, car loan, mortgage, you own your home, you want to consolidate debt. Is that a thing that could help you? Who knows? Jason does. That's for sure. Don't ask idiots on this program. Do not throw us a super chat. Go to jason.orgage. That's dot mortgage not.com. He's been doing this for more than 20 years. And the Canadian mortgage professional magazine named one of the top 30 mortgage brokers in Canada. First time buyers, self-employed people, maybe you're buying your fifth,
sixth, they're seventh, or 18th, home like Brett.
You can help everyone's out to be sure.
Good for you. Yeah. Well, I like the dabble.
Collector of sorts, eh?
The Vegas gold nights were collecting goals. This again
kind of fell into a familiar
pattern. You work hard. You're in the game. You get to the
third and it's like, well, I got to three.
So can we fuel the charter?
Let's get out of here. Like, I didn't mind
a lot of what you saw. You just, as we've been saying all year,
there's going to be a talent gap.
And when the Vegas power play gets to rock and roll with those weapons,
that many times?
Was it six power plays?
Something like that.
Yeah.
Did you have to take the power plays because you were out overpowered?
You know what I mean?
Sometimes if a team can't keep up, you're like, well.
That was kind of the case last night.
I mean, Vegas was just skating all over them.
And when you get Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, Mitch Marner,
like that forward group humming, which they were last night,
against a team with as little talent as the flames.
Like it's just, it's game over from the start.
Yeah, we were saying it.
It's like, it's not about what do the flames have to do to the win.
It's, is Vegas going to take Calgary seriously?
Totally.
If you match the flames effort, you're going to win nine times out of ten,
unless Dustin Wolf goes full like Dominic Hasick mode.
We haven't quite seen that this year.
It's asking a lot because you're just,
there's a skill deficit.
There just is.
Like how many guys are going to go to the World Cup next winter for Calgary?
Nemets.
Like they can buy a ticket one.
Yeah.
Like maybe some Slovakians.
I don't know what they're going to do with European teams,
but the four nations, they were, they're not on that.
But like you look at that Vegas Powerball Unit.
Like I can name four Olympians and a couple others waiting on the bench.
Like Hanif is not even on the ice.
It's one of those things where you look at the Vegas roster.
And I think you probably go seven or eight deep before you find the best player on the flames.
Oh, 100%.
Combined the two rosters.
Literally, maybe even the top 10 Golden Knights would be better than the top flame.
Let's play the game.
Let's play the game.
Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner, Olympian, Olympian, Mark Stone, Olympian.
Like, there's a guy.
Yep, of course.
Theodore.
Theodore on the point.
Thomas Hurdle.
Yep.
Like. Anderson.
Rasmus.
Hanifans.
Was there?
Like, we're at seven.
And like, there's some other guys that are all right there.
It's a bad matchup for them.
You can even maybe throwing Brett Howden.
I mean, he had a really good playoff last year.
Not for Olympics, but he would fit on the flames top line.
And that's what I'm saying.
for the top. When do you finally say
okay, I'll put a flame on that?
Yeah, and I think
honestly, you know,
probably the second goalie
and none of the top six forwards
are top 2D, 3D.
I like ball this year, but it's like very
early and this is not a sexy defenseman,
it's a functional, it's of the Rhett Warner.
Good player.
Like legit top four guy.
Underrated, needs a raise.
Legit more minutes.
Yeah.
Legit for Ryan Huska said he thinks he's a legit top pairing guy.
And I don't know if he's just saying that in the media to boost the confidence or if he's just saying that.
He's playing good.
And if you.
Yeah.
Like here's the thing.
I don't think Mitya's at Colm is a top pair guy anymore.
I don't know that Ryan Shea is, but someone's going to play with Bouchard.
He could be that guy.
Yeah.
Right?
Just to use the Oilers example.
And again, you could make the case that Matt Coronado is a top on winger if he gets to go play with Leon and Connor because you're going to get 40 back there.
But live his silly pod Colson's doing right now.
Exactly.
Like six or seven goals already.
Alex Chase on in snow boots nearly got 20.
Patrick Arun, I think at 30.
Right.
Yeah.
And so it's kind of like you have all these pieces that individually aren't that great.
And then also the pieces around them, you're like, well, no one's boosting anyone else up here.
This is as bad as any of these guys can look.
Yeah.
And like the flames Vegas matchup, particularly in Vegas, is awful for the flames.
I mean, we looked yesterday.
They got outscored 12 to four.
So now, so the updated numbers.
Over.
Overated numbers on that.
The flames in 16 games in Vegas have won twice.
They're 2, 12, and 2.
They've been outscored 6831 in those games.
They don't just go to Vegas and lose.
They go to Vegas and get destroyed every single time.
I'm going to get destroyed.
The boys were out right until there's a drop of the puck.
I hope they partied all night when they got in and just lived it up.
I'm with you.
I mean,
some bonding,
have some fun,
get your asses kicked and go home.
Totally.
This is going to be a long year.
Like if you have the chance to go out a night in Vegas,
like take advantage of that.
Like who cares if you lose six to the next night.
Go have a,
go have a time.
They would have to go back on the point.
Well,
yeah,
the coach might care.
This is such a tough spot for Huska.
Because like,
I'll tell you one.
Like you were trying to make chicken salad.
And it is a lot of,
and that's not like these are bad players.
They're not.
They're all probably very good third and fourth line players,
second and third pair guys.
But how in the world do you go into?
that building against that roster and be like
ABC we win this game.
Like what's on the list?
And like don't take penalties.
Perfect defense.
Everyone's got to be 100%.
Immaculate.
Goley's got to be great. We're going to need some bounces.
And if you look at Anheim, like a lot of that list hit.
Totally.
My big thing so far this year.
You got their starter last night too.
You didn't even get the backup.
You can just tell this team like so yes,
from a Huska perspective, what can you do?
But also like from the team perspective,
you look around the locker.
room. Say you're down 3-1 heading into the third period. You look around the locker room and you're like, who's going to score a goal? At least in the past, like the last few years, you could look at Nazim Cadry, who's a 60-70 point guy. You know, when Hubert O was on his game in 24-25, he could do stuff. But then you had Coleman and Anderson and Weiger. Like, you can look around the room and see some good vets and be like, okay, we're kind of in this. Now you're looking at like Ryan Strom and Zach Whitecloud and Jake Middleton. It's like, who's going to score tonight? Like, this is strong.
that's too good. Strong.
Yeah. And that's fine.
Uh, yeah, and they moved into the wing on the Pospels.
The line I've actually liked that line a bit, but I mean, there's talk about resigning.
I'm like, I guess. I don't know.
I mean, if you trade for us, if you signed it won your deal, maybe.
Sure. You got him for a seventh. It's not like you're going to turn them into a second.
I'll wait and find out. I'm in no rush to be handing out extensions.
I want to see the kids. And to be fair, there's like, I have in mind the new guys.
what else do you have in the A?
Like where are we at on Basha
by the time you're in the new year?
Or a Tyson Gross who can play down the middle in theory.
Is he a quad A guy?
Will he play in the league? I don't know.
When do these college guys sign?
It's good. We can find out.
Got to learn.
It's the whole point of this year.
Right.
And so it's easy as Craig Conor to be like,
hey, we're just going to learn about what we have
and what we don't have.
And along the way, we're definitely going to amass some draft capital.
And we're going to be picking really high.
But if you're Ryan Huska, it's like,
okay, like we can trade chances with teams,
but do you want like an 11-4 instead of the 6-2?
But you also want to keep it light.
So it's like, how do you balance those things?
My, I'm telling you, I've said it from the start.
Wolf has to stop the puck if it's not 6-1.
And I'm not saying he's sift out, but if it's 3-1 again,
you're like, that's fine.
Like I look at that backdoor one that felt like the back-breaker.
Was that 4-1 or 3-1?
And it's like the third period.
It's like, you can't look that of the goalie.
Yeah.
Like it's a perfect play.
Jake Middleton lies down and the puck goes like two feet past him.
It was like what is the Chris Russell water slide musician.
He was just whee, right in the sloths.
And I feel for these guys, they're all, it's not like these guys are working and they're not trying.
It's not like to work effort.
Yes.
And it's just that's what a rebuild looks like.
And that's hard for people because you, like you were saying it, Jack.
You go on the, on Twitter after the game.
And it's everyone just wants to throw everyone into the sun.
You're like, you can't ask for a rebuild and then expect this to be a competitive team all
the time. Yeah, well, you shouldn't go on the internet and look at what people say.
Unless it's a barn burner clip. It's a lighting point right there.
If you're a player, though, I mean, that's the last thing you should do this year is check
out social media. I mean, that's the case in every single NHM market. But this year in
particular, the thing is, though, like, when it comes to covering this team, we can't just go back
to the same conversation every single day and just be like, well, they're a rebuilding team. Like,
we can move on.
Like, we still have to kind of break down the games.
We still have to kind of approach it from a deal.
We did a good job not to do it.
That's why we brought you.
It's just hard to cover an 84 game season and not look at the day by day results.
You know, yes, we can keep the big picture in mind.
But at the same time, when you're covering the team every day, it's kind of hard not to have those conversations.
Like I just see people online saying, well, this is what you wanted, right?
Like you wanted the rebuild.
You wanted to get destroyed.
And they're kind of saying that on comments when you're breaking down people's performances and people's game by game breakdown.
So it's, in terms of covering the team this year, it's actually kind of difficult, right?
Yeah, it is.
And again, if you go slot these guys on other teams, they're not.
They're not there.
Or they're way down the lineup.
Like, I think Matt May Gridden is probably about to break into the NHL on a contender.
He only is here because the opportunity.
Because if he doesn't have to do the driving of the play up the line.
Not that he can't, but like last night, he's trying to do too much.
But that's part of the learning.
curve. Yeah. And that doesn't mean he's
a bus. It's just, it's going to learn
that shit, this does not work here.
Yeah. I got to say it.
Yeah. Like, preck all year. You're like
flashes of the genius and figuring
out that half of his toolkit
ain't going to work in terms of the plays that he could
pull off in the OHL. And it doesn't
have to be coached even.
It's circumstantial in
this circumstance. This didn't
work. He'll learn. Like Tuesday night
or I think it was Tuesday, Nemich
gets stripped the blue line, breakaway ducks.
backhand shelf Seneca, I think it was, scores.
And you're like, a coach doesn't have to go over and tell him.
Like, hey, Simone.
Like, I know.
I'm not going to do that again.
I'm going to remember, you know, that the rookie that got 30s,
okay, get it deep.
I don't know.
So as a coach, it's like, are you really going to break down,
do an hour of video today?
That's why.
It's hard because you're going alone.
Because you're like, I got to do my job.
You lost 6 to 1 last night.
Like, fellas, should we get in early and watch the table?
Somebody should say.
No, throw that.
You could burn the tape sometimes.
He's in kind of a lose-lose situation because we're talking about like,
okay, what if he opens it up and they trade chances and they lose six three and six-four?
I would, I mean, I'd be fine with that, but we've seen the online reaction to that so far this year and people have not liked it.
And again, don't care about Don.
But then he then he tightens things up defensively and then it's like, well, then we play way too boring and the kids aren't getting played enough.
It's just like, no matter what this coach does right now, he's kind of in a lose-lose situation.
I will say this would be much more miserable if he didn't have that extension because at least he knows that this organization had enough faith in him.
Conroy has his back.
Totally.
And if there's other situations that aren't like that.
And it's like, holy crap.
Like, am I coaching for my livelihood to like stay in this league?
I don't worry about that with Ryan Huska.
Everyone knows the roster has massive deficiencies.
And you listen to people around the league.
They just speak nothing, like, great things about running.
Ryan Huska. I even remember last year, John Cooper was in town, and he went out of his way to
compliment Ryan Huska. And you just, you listen to interviews across the league and people in the
hockey world, they only have good things to say about him. So his reputation, I think, is, is going to be
fine. Yeah. And no matter what happens this year or next year, like, he's going to be able to find
probably another coaching job. He freaks out. Unless he does something crazy. You could oversteer it.
I don't worry too much about that in the sense that, like, he's got his standards of work ethic and
structure. And I think that's what costs zero spot. Um, he just couldn't meet the minimum
standard of like how much structure I need.
Like you need a puck deep at the end of your shift.
Don't go one on one.
I've been telling you this for a year and a half.
I can't do this anymore.
That kind of thing.
But like I just see so many people complaining.
They're not playing the kids.
Not playing the kids.
I'm like,
who's you're on a power play one?
It's a guy that's played less than 30 games in the NHTS.
Like who else is out there?
Okay, well, there's a 20 year old that played in the Q 16 months ago.
There's another kid that like,
who would it be?
Like, Sunnihav was out there.
Like, college 16.
like a Stanion is playing center yes we've been getting a lot of minutes too like he is I
I think he is playing the kids I think some of the criticism is a little overblown in my opinion yeah
I agree he doesn't get it here would never we're not here to critique we're just
full of support love this team guys are awesome go get him boys no but it's true yes there's
there's but people were calling for his head last year and the year before they
all the year before he had 96 that was not the year to call
for his head, but I get what you're saying. It's like it's, it is absolutely a hard
checking structure work ethic. That's how we win. And with the rosters you've been given,
what else are you going to do? That's what was necessary. Right. And so the question is,
you have to allow for some. I don't think there is a structure that allows this team to make the
playoffs, like a style. Right? Like it's just no matter. So it's like six, you want to trade chances
and let the horses run. I want to play airtight. I don't think it matters. No matter what.
you're going to see L's.
You're going to pick
your highest pick
in franchise history.
I could say that
with quite a bit of certainty.
Like,
what are the odds
of them getting a top three picks?
Well,
okay,
maybe the Flyers Red,
maybe the King's Brown.
Like,
go look at the rosters
compared to the flames.
This is arguably
one of the worst rosters
in the franchise history.
Yeah,
the forward group's miserable.
And that's not to say
there aren't guys that aren't good players.
It's just they're all not ready
or bottom half vets.
Kind of reminds me
like the mid to late 90s.
after they traded that Cup Corps and they went with the young guns.
Like this kind of feels like a sort of similar situation.
Hopefully it turns out better than that.
Hope and pray that happens.
But in terms of the roster right now,
it's kind of similar.
Yeah,
we're already how many years into not making the playoffs.
I think it's four,
so this would be five.
It was seven then.
So we're,
I can hear right there.
So Jerome McGinlup made his debut in the 96th playoffs.
Games three and four were back in Calgary.
They came back from Chicago down to,
scores in one, assist in the other,
they get swept,
Trent Yanni coughs it up in front.
They don't make the playoffs again until
Rett Savily took out
to get Kippersoft.
It's not hard.
So that's a long while.
Like 96 to 04.
We're in for a very similar trajectory.
Honestly,
it might even be more.
And you know what the answer is?
How quickly are the kids ready?
Yeah.
Because I'm looking right now
and I'm like,
Cornado looks like he's,
like, that's the one guy.
I'm like,
legit top six guy.
I think so.
Yeah.
And then everyone else is like, not ready yet or is beyond, he's past that in his career now because he's a vet.
And so does Carl step in and look like a top pair guy right away like Matthew Schaefer did?
Does he take three or four years to become a top 40?
We don't know.
Does Cole Reschney look like a top six centerman right away?
Does it take him two years?
We don't know.
Is Wittenback a guy that's going to light up the A and can't crack an antichael roster?
Or does he step in and immediately produce at the NHFEL level?
We don't know.
The guy they're going to pick in the top three, four, five, one, two, three.
is that guy step in next year of play?
Do they need another year of seasoning?
We don't know.
So people that ask for these timelines on the rebuilds,
like, how in the world could you know?
Like best case scenario, it's a couple of years.
Worst, it could be way longer.
Philly is a good example of this.
Yeah.
I was thinking about Philly and how they're struggling.
And then they went after Carlson.
And I'm like, why did they have to go after Carlson?
Leo, they need the center bad.
Okay.
Well, why don't they draft second overall?
Yeah.
Nolan Patrick.
That was supposed to be the guy.
That's a killer.
That's a second overall pick.
This guy's supposed to be a 75 to 100 point player.
That could have been Heiskin and her McCar.
Yeah.
The game changer for that organization.
Yeah.
And I'm not.
He was widely regarded as go number one for most of the year.
And maybe they're fine with Leo there because he's looked excellent in the first three weeks of the year.
But they just don't, they don't have centers.
And they know they're not going to be bad enough.
Well, after playoffs, last.
I know.
I'm just saying that even your.
saying we don't know.
Yeah.
Even if you draft second overall,
you don't know.
Yes, especially this year.
This person still has to come in and could.
So I don't have you to look at this right.
Like one of the guys that a lot of people have is the top forward of this class has like
a four year deal in the K.
Can you imagine picking the best forward in your class and having to wait until 2030,
2031?
That's tough.
What?
It might fit right into our timeline.
Yeah.
And so if you're Connie,
you're like, shit, how do I balance this?
And the owner's like, well, we got a new building and we're asking a lot more for the same beer.
Maybe we take, you hope that they have the patience to follow this through.
And you hope you look at a team like Minnesota who waited for Carill Caprizov.
Yeah.
You know, I think they waited three or four years for him.
And that's turned out.
Damadov, you had to wait a little less than you thought.
His dad passed away.
They let him go a year early.
But you don't know.
Aaron in Chicago, like they waited for him.
I think he was done.
I don't know if he was dropped.
Or was he a free agent?
You might have been an undraft.
But either way, it's like, it's not as easy as secure your top three pick and now start
planning a cup route.
And just a lot of, look at a lot of these kids in the system and turn in a way.
You wouldn't be in this situation of Sam Bennett had played up to his potential.
I agree.
Because you wouldn't have dismantled.
And, of course, there's all these other things, COVID and everything.
But if Bennett is a number two center when he's here, you're not messing with that core.
And the guys that are here are probably going to, that we're here would probably have
stayed because you were going to be more successful.
100%. So everything changed.
If you think you went Monahan, Bennett, Backlin,
one, two, three, and that's back in like five years ago, that's a really good, like,
getting Selky votes three C. You slide Lindholm to the wing.
You've still got Kachuk. You still got Kedro. You've still got Madge.
You're at it. Yeah. Well, and speaking of Vegas last night, of course, the flames,
they, there were runners up in the Mark Stone sweep state. There are no runners up, but I know what you're
saying. Even like the Jack Eichel one, it was down to Vegas and Calgary.
that's what the reports are.
Even imagine if they make one of those moves.
All of a sudden, it's a completely
different conversation where Johnny's like, I want to stay and play
with these. Totally. I think the Chuck wants to stay.
And the COA thing too. Like, Americans in Canada
are like, why am I not allowed to go to the grocery store?
It's a terrible experience for them.
Like if that doesn't your phone.
Maybe. Gordy specials.
What you got to keep our players.
Lots there. It's, I just.
Lots there. Same conversation on Monday.
So number two in the Pinder Report, Jack, this is what Bobby, you might have done this because I know you do a lot of socials for the network.
Like the caption from last night's final was literally 77 to go.
Yeah.
Like, what else can you say?
Yeah, it's a terrible year to add two games.
Oh, I know.
Do it, Gary.
Smart enough.
I would have started these for more preseason games or they look like they could play.
I'm, I am.
I am actually, we're being cheeky about it.
I don't give it.
F.
This is what it's supposed to be.
Because I want to see if Gross can play.
Yeah.
And I don't want to see him if he can play for one game, like Bill Stromgren a couple
years ago.
I was like, well, you played him eight minutes.
And I don't think Bill was going to turn it, but play him.
Give him a run.
Play him.
Who cares?
Up, down, there's a hallway.
It should get tread a lot with guys going up and down and chances and opportunities.
Let's see what you got.
Let's find out what this guy has.
Go get it.
You don't need.
Igor in the lineup every night.
You don't need Sipulkov in the lineup every night.
No, he's the first on my list.
Well, 100%, but like,
because Igor at least has been
noticeable.
He's skating a lot better this year than in years past.
And you know he can shoot it.
You can do some special teams work.
I don't know what it's played his ass off.
He'd be a good asset to move.
Yeah.
And you know what?
That salary when that you're like, oh, boy.
In today's universe, it's not that bad.
No, it really is.
Cheap is chips.
Yeah.
Love chips.
Chips are good.
It's got this new queso dip, Bobby.
Should have you over.
I know you'd be a case.
I'm fine.
Homemade?
No.
Too lazy.
Okay.
I want to tell you about Capital Shave.
CapitalShave.com.
13.
103.
Are you,
were you browsing?
Yeah.
Lake Fraser Drive in the southeast.
Calvries truck destination.
We shop for a truck.
Oh, maybe.
Okay.
Yeah.
Smallest city one.
Yeah, sure.
Capital Shev.
A little more fuel efficiency.
The UIC GMC keeps the line up deep.
From hardworking Silveradoes and Sierra's to SUVs and everyday
commuters. You might have heard about the $99 lease. Yeah, that's real. Big inventory, competitive pricing
and a team that knows how to keep things simple, whether they need something built for the winter
roads or summer road trips. It's the kind of place you walk in curious and you leave confident.
Trucks, deals, and a no-nonsense experience just the way Calgary likes at Capitalshev.ca.
Again, 13103 Lake Fraser Drive in the southeast.
You could stop in and get some crack and collie while you're there, too.
What the heck? The what and who?
What is that?
Correct.
Collie.
It's pork belly.
Oh,
I like that.
And cauliflower.
That sounds pretty good.
Spicy.
A little crispy pork belly?
Jack,
you ever had pork belly?
Best I've ever had.
No, I can't say.
I haven't needed a food hall.
Jack.
So Jack's had like potatoes, broccoli and steak, and that's it.
Tronix fans about it.
He's never had a Vietnamese sub.
He's never had foe.
He's not had.
I had a very average because you brought it up,
Vietnamese sub yesterday.
Well,
I was not happy with the performance.
Well, there's lots of good ones out there.
So you just spin the wheel.
You get your idiot buddies over this weekend.
I'm come over tonight.
Buy house?
Yeah, you said you put out the invite?
No, no, you stay home and have your phone.
Wasn't he going to scare the go to Avenue to Food Hall and just get one of everything?
Try it all.
Jack, next time you're hungover, you got to get some foe.
It is the best hungover meal you could possibly.
Or a little sick.
Do you feel in the sickness and it's cold?
Ooh, that broth.
Oh, it's good.
Gosh, damn.
It's awesome.
What's wrong with sin?
I'm not a huge suit guy.
Ah, for Christ's sakes.
Some fried bologna for you, Ajax.
Sure.
Craft dinner.
That's what I should do.
I've got the team part, parent party.
I should fry bologna.
Bologna.
Bologna.
Bologna.
Sandwiches, some trailer park boys style.
A little mustard, little white bread.
Why on?
It's easy.
Well, I got mustard.
It's mustard.
One of the great scenes in trailer park boys' history.
They're hosting this party at like some
sort of haul. Phil Collins is ripping
the bologna on the slicer.
Somebody takes it off and Phil Collins just
screams, who the hell took that baloney
off the slicer?
It's the huge gut and everything. God,
that's a good show. He's always got the undergut hanging
up. It's just that is a special show.
What are you looking at my gut for?
We're good for.
Let's get to our fan moment for Coca-Cola.
Being a hockey fan is a commitment.
We definitely walked through that in the first half
part of this show. Superstitions,
chance, pacing, standing through.
overtime because sitting somehow feels wrong.
Whether you're making a climb to the nosebleeds,
rallying your section, start the way of keeping your eye
in the game or another on the out of town scoreboard,
true fandom puts in the work and every shift deserves
an ice cold Coca-Cola.
Fan work is thirsty work. Coca-Cola for a fan moment,
uh, the Milwaukee Brewers might be hotter than Hansel right now.
Four wins against the Dodgers.
Get out the brooms. They're off to the World Series and they were,
not afraid to celebrate last night.
Fellas having fun.
When you're a small market team
and the deck is already stacked against you
and you've flirted with being there
but haven't got there.
We're talking over 40 years since that city's been
in the World Series.
That is going to be electric.
The state of Wisconsin is shut down.
Until further notice,
they are tailgating game one of the World Series a week out.
As they should.
Celebrate it.
These things never happen.
Now, as a hockey player, when you see that, how do you feel about celebrations?
Total lack of focus, completely overdoing it.
They need to, they're trying to win a championship, not the division.
What have we talked?
They knocked off the Dodgers and they are not playing tomorrow or the day after,
or the day after, or the day after.
They can sit back to a while.
Focus and get ready for the next round.
That's what we used to do.
Right.
Colson.
Are you not ready?
Kaylee's.
What's the whole happen in that game?
Was 4-0?
Was it 4-0-0-0-0-0-1?
We're a sports show, folks.
The problem is we had all four games, which is super impressive.
We had an awful Thursday night football game and the flames at the same time as this playoff.
Great.
The challenge of that one.
But, yeah, they're having fun in Wisconsin.
In 0-4, like in the locker room, you guys weren't going crazy like they were after you won
playoff rounds, but were you guys still celebrating pretty hard?
Like, were you still going out to the bar?
and having a good time
where were you guys
like pretty dialed in.
That's what you saw right there.
A rhetorical question
or a retorical question.
Did we win?
Flochart.
Yes.
Did we lose?
Flochart?
No.
It always ends up beer at the bottom.
Jimmy.
Jimmy play fair.
He took me aside in February
and said you better get
your boys dialed in.
We don't need to hear any more stories
about late nights.
I got you, Jimmy.
That's like the clip from
that new movie, it's like, why would I deceive you?
I have nothing to. There's no reason for me to lie to you.
A lot of people talk about Kipper turning around that season.
That might have been the moment right there.
You and Playfair, mid-Feb.
It's comparable.
I still think it was taking on Roman Turks knee.
That was savvy.
That was impactful.
From the fan moment of the day, let's get to our fail of the week for Gamtech.
Gamtec is a cavalry company, started here in 2012, still headquartered here.
What do they do?
look after small to mid-sized businesses across the country from right here in Calgary.
They're the IT department for small and mid-sized businesses. Typically, if you've got 20 to 500 people,
you're the kind of company that either has no IT person or one who's completely underwater.
You need some help. Security comes first, not as an upsell from GAMTEC. Ransomware and email
fraud are hitting Canadian small business is hard and most owners don't find out how exposed they are
until it's too late. They are SOC2 certified and a certified B-Corp, which is rare for an IT provider.
it means they're audited on how they handle client data and how they run their business.
If your team's losing hours to computers that don't work or your one bad click for being shut down,
this is the call to make.
Gamtec.ca for a free,
no obligation quote.
The fail of the week.
The Thursday netter,
we told you was a flat one.
Ryan Fitzpatrick,
Fitzpatrick, Fitzmaj,
the former Bill's quarterback,
the beautiful beard,
the Hawaiian T-shirts,
ripping his tarp off.
He had this to say about,
well,
Bo Nix, whose team actually played in the Super Bowl last year, and it's tough to figure out how.
I mean, I'm glad they scored the two touchdowns in the first half,
but they were in four-minute mode when the second half started.
It was really frustrating to watch, and part of it for me is Bo Nix is not playing competitively.
It's almost disrespectful to the quarterback position, how he's playing football.
What do you mean?
What do you mean when you see?
How is he playing?
I mean, first of all, the guy doesn't want to throw the ball.
That's fine.
He's thrown to the flats.
he's throwing behind, but he has no trust from his coach.
He calls a screenplay on third and eight.
Just run up and let the clock keep going.
What does he do?
He throws it away.
Seattle gets the ball.
They have a timeout.
And then in overtime, he's got two chances to be competitive.
The last one being a designed run for him to run, make somebody missing.
Get a first down for your football team.
Now they're in the locker room, not right now.
They're excited.
They won.
He's not playing competitive football right now.
You are playing competitive broadcaster.
I love this.
I love your passion about this because if you're this fired up and you're not on this team or you're not one of these fans, I can only imagine how they feel.
I can only imagine how Sean Payton feels.
I mean, Sean Payton, Davis Webb, everybody that blocks for him, he's not competing right now.
And that's something that he's hung his hat on for the last two years.
I don't know if he's still injured.
I don't know what's going on.
But it's not good enough.
It's effort.
Oh, damn.
Oh, my Fitzmax.
You let him have it.
That was great.
No, what about the quarterback that lost the game?
Like you were sure it was 34-0
the way that Fitz dismantled him.
But that, what did you see last night, Jack?
It was just an absolutely awful football game.
I mean, Jesus, both sides as well.
I don't think Seattle seems one-dimensional at this point on offense.
They need a running back that's good.
It's just JASN.
And then on the Broncos side, I mean, Nick's looks.
lost out there.
They're throwing check down.
The Gamp deck failed the game.
Yes, he deserves it because they're not pushing the ball down the field.
It's like watching paint dry.
So who was the fail?
It was Bonix.
He took the bullets from Fitzmagic.
Those were not strays.
Those were he had the little red dot.
That was a sniper.
At least Sam Donald was pushing the ball down field.
Like he was trying to be aggressive and he was running with the ball a little bit.
Too bad he made three intercept.
and that, I mean, that ended the game right there.
Turnover battle was 3-0 for Denver.
Someone was saying it was the quietest 100 yards of receiving in the NFL history
jacks. Yeah, probably.
Because he finished at like 120, 1.30.
At a certain point, he's just got a force in the ball because those other receivers aren't
getting separation.
They have no run game.
So, yeah, I don't really put that on Darnold either.
I thought he was fine.
Yeah, Cooper Cup is washed.
Yes, he is.
They're literally on their third and four string running back right now.
Charbonneille will be back next week.
They miss King.
like and of course they do and then also jadarine price the rookie they drafted out even though he's
ran for decent numbers they keep rolling in the halanis and the wilsons it's like can we just
get to the price charbonnet point they're going to be more watchable 100% you're the seahawks guy
if i'm right is is there a conversation we had about sam donald right now because i mean you compare
his stats to drew locks this year i mean drew locks 2 and 0 four touchdowns and interceptions he just
won the super bowl i know but i mean when you're turning the ball over three times like that that was
such a winnable game last night. They just lost
to that performance at court.
100%. That game is on Darnell.
I get why Ryan Fitzpatrick was going after
Bo Nix, but I mean, you can make the same
argument almost for Sam Darnell in terms of his
performance last night.
That's tough when your receivers aren't
getting separation.
Slopfest. Did we like the under and what did
the overtime do to us, Jack?
I said the over before the game.
You didn't finish the Gamtech Creed is what I'm trying to tell you.
Well, what do I say on Gantek? I already told you,
Gamtec.
for your free no obligation quote i was gonna say because like can they do all of a sudden this
internet stuff's important that's right crazy thing of seattle they're they've already matched
their loss total from last season six weeks into this year last year they were 17 and three
if you include the playoffs and now they're three what two and three three and three whatever it is
they are three and it's not good not in that division where the niners look good and you're waiting
for the rams to finally have everyone healthy at the same time totally yeah but that denver defense
is legit. Like they were unbelievable last name.
They beat the hell.
Is Donald terrible?
I think it was a little bit of mix of both there.
Alex Singleton was on the panel after the game as well.
It was around the one year anniversary of his diagnosis with testicular cancer.
He had a surgery played a week later.
And he said like when you think back to it, like what are your takeaways, all that?
He's just like, be as positive as you can be.
I was happy to share my story because if anyone gets a diagnosis earlier or not,
later their chance of survival or higher.
And you can only control one thing.
And that's your attitude. And it's like, how much do you love that guy?
He's like the perfect human being.
He's amazing. He's so cool.
Yes. He's right in the middle of that defense, leading him with tackles every week.
He hammered Darnold. I don't know if you saw the hit. He kind of led with his helmet,
like right into Darnold's gut, kind of late in the fourth quarter. It was a huge hit.
And I actually think I kind of threw Donald off into overtime a little bit.
Singleton's a beast, man. He's so good.
He is. Let's get to the Pinder Report. We'll wrap up the other news of the day from the
sporting world. It is brought to you by our great friends at Village Honda. A reminder of the
2026 Honda CRV clearout is on now, but hustle into Village Honda. This won't last long.
VillageHonda.com for more details or in the Northwest Auto Mall. There's a vehicle built for
our wild seasons here in Calgary. We start, yeah, with the loss. It's another six burger,
Rhett. How many touchdowns have they allowed this year? Well, there was one to Seattle, another
to Seattle, one to Colorado, another one to Colorado, another one here.
A lot.
Four touchdowns.
Singleton, not on his watch.
He wouldn't.
Can he play goal?
He can play anywhere.
Put him on the Inypilkov slot, watch him destroy guys.
Yeah, we mentioned it.
Bobby had the 77 games left caption and kind of feels a bit like that.
This is kind of what the team signed up for everyone.
Yes.
But I don't like painting the season already as let's not pay attention.
No, we're going to get more of those.
You are.
And that's what makes the Tuesdays in Anaheim where you're like, you should be proud of that group.
Because any win they get is going to be well.
They're not going to be.
They're not trying less.
They don't know.
They're fine.
They're outmatched.
And rats mentioned it a bunch of times.
I mean, if those games are 3-1 or 3-2 or 4-1 or 4-2, they're a lot easier to swallow, you know, than putting up six burgers.
It's the goals against that's concerning.
They spent eight minutes on the penalty.
kill. Not ideal against two on five. So a 40%
clip for the for Vegas and
you're going to want to be even strength more. Even strength at one point
Pike and tweeted out. The shots were even. It was just at all the non-even
strengths they were getting annihilated. Yeah. And this season the flames have the
worst penalty differential in the NHL and there's been some weird on even on
Zane. I feel like there's been a lot of soft. A lot of soft calls. It almost feels like the
reps are picking on him to a certain extent because sometimes like reps are known for doing
that kind of picking on a young guy. You know,
The vet gets the exception.
Totally.
Like when you see Marner at the bench,
he kind of wax at the back knee
of I think it's Castania and it's like,
all right, Ruck, let's see what you're made of.
And then Klopper comes in and pushes shoves.
I feel like Zane does the same thing.
It's like, oh, Spir for two minutes or like a slash.
I'd like.
Inverse standings.
Pick on the refs, you losers.
The refs are out there doing their damnedest.
That's a wrette.
It's a tough gig.
One win.
That's still one more than the Kings and the,
how have the Kings only played five games?
games.
Should be a long year and all way.
They're supposed to be really old.
I don't know Frank saying that they're interested in Helloebuck, which if I'm
Connor Hellebuck, I do not want to go there.
Why am I going?
Anyone on this page if I'm Connor Hellebuck?
I'm just laughing.
No.
And desperation is going to probably continue to increase in Conner's camp if he's still
there and not traded.
But I just, you'd rather go back to Winnipeg, wouldn't you at that point?
They're not taking him back.
Kick it down the road for until the summer.
He's closing in.
on losing $700,000 already
this year. You got the
Hercea-Hollobox. What a great website.
Is it dot cair.com? Free plug.
Dot com. Helibox.com.
He loses over $38,000 a day.
We're talking about it. How crazy is that. It's a pretty
sexy vehicle every two days.
Unbelievable. That's like a nice Honda CRE right there.
Seriously.
Touring civic? Touring Civic.
US fund. Yeah.
Schedule. What's next? Okay. They wrapped the little
mini swing. They went Anaheim to Vegas. They're home.
five of the next six.
Oh, God.
Get ready, Carolina.
We're coming for you.
I'm going to get it right.
Now, can you tell me the canes are in Edmonton on Monday or maybe the night,
but like,
does it matter?
That's the only way it matters.
They probably play it.
They do play in Edmonton.
I don't know.
They're in Winnipeg.
Ooh.
There's been a few of those this year.
Teams are coming to Calgary from Winnipeg.
Which is a desert.
Yeah.
Anaheim.
Anahehan.
Yeah.
Yeah. It's interesting.
It's not going to help.
Here's your home slate.
It's after the,
defending Stanley Cup champs. You get the Wild
Matt Boldy's heated up. We're talking about
a few days ago. Hattrick and I helped her last night.
Detroit comes in. They just beat Philly.
They've got two wins to bring
it back in the fold.
Then it's Toronto.
They look quicker.
I don't know that they're better.
They're a bad matchup for Calgary.
They're a horrible matchup for Cald.
Yeah. And Mershenko has the natural
Hattrick, I believe, last night. First one's a tweener.
He's a good player.
Matthews looks a lot
better as well. Nealander's lighting it up.
Nealander looks great. Yeah, McKenna's
getting scratched. Ketka got benched. You got sat down.
Yeah. I don't think you had one shift in the last
half of the game. I don't know if that's the right approach.
I think Colton Sissons had a shift in overtime over
Gavin McKenna. And I'm just like, what are you doing, Jim
Hiller? Send in a message. Jeez. You're
not thinking that Sissons is a better player. You're saying, I'm going to
have a better McKenna next game if I do. That's,
it's got to be the theory because otherwise you can't make that. Does it
make sense? I don't know. I don't know. That doesn't
make any sense to me.
So why are they benching him?
Wow.
The problem for the Leafs might be that he's not ready to be there and they have to have him in the lineup.
I don't think he's looked pretty good though.
At times.
Yeah.
But again,
I got off to a rough start,
but this last few games,
he's looked pretty solid.
It's easy for you to just assume that this is.
And what are you going to do?
Hold them to,
you're going to fucking bench the first overall pick that you're basing your whole team around?
Where is the chicken?
Holy.
I don't,
I don't agree with the benching.
I'm just saying it's clearly Jim Hiller trying to send a message.
Did you hear what Jim Hiller said?
after the game.
What do you say?
That was a mistake on my part.
Okay, good.
So he's on it a bit.
Yeah.
It didn't make sense.
It doesn't make sense.
But from the other perspective,
that's probably what he was thinking,
though, at the time.
And it's probably the end of the-
It doesn't make sense.
That's probably what he's thinking.
At the end of the game,
it's probably like, you know,
your new GM's like,
what are we doing there?
Well, this becomes the problem with the leaves.
Is McKenna your answer?
Because,
what's the question if he's the answer?
Well, their expectation is that he was going to come in and put up some points and help on the power play.
They've got lots of skill and he was just going to be another piece.
And they were going to go from missing the playoffs to back to 107 to 110 points.
I don't know if they're still.
They're still putting it out to be sure.
But he can't play six minutes.
No.
I mean, we would flip the F out if our.
Yeah, one overall for sure.
Oh, you absolutely.
Because we saw with Perek last year.
He's not number one overall.
Agreed.
Just what I pointed that out.
It's not what you want to see, for sure.
And I do agree.
He was in the moment.
When he was,
because he was on,
he missed an optional skate
and all of this and that.
And it's like,
the next game out he has three points.
You're like,
okay.
Like,
you're just going to patience,
everyone.
Patience.
It's a bit of a jump
from Penn State to play.
That's honestly,
the fact that he's got like five points
his last five games
is super impressive.
For a kid,
that size with that little experience.
I thought it was going to take him
30 times.
talking about the first overall pick are these guys not like everyone's 18 years old he's like 160 pounds going
up against grown-ass men and if that was a concern and you didn't think he was going to be good enough then
you shouldn't have him in the lineup well then you watched him at penn state last year like it took him some time to get used to
the ncdbillate took him some time to get used to the world juniors like yeah for these players in my
opinion i think it takes like 20 30 games to really start to get your feet under you and to me it looks
like he's already kind of there which i think he's there but i guess that would be my argument with you
is I don't disagree with him. It'll take time. I don't think he's there yet.
And he's not one of those generational guys. Like he's not the McDavid. He's not the
Matthews or Eichel, like those types of players. So I think it's going to
probably take him 20, 30 games. I think it'll be fine. The crazy thing is
skating. Like he can fly. I didn't realize what a good skater he was. But you look at
like those NHL edge numbers. Like he's one of the top skaters in the league.
Oh, you talk. You lost it there a while ago. Let's go to finals from last night around the
NHL, we can tell you
what the hell happened around the league.
You already know, Detroit
beat Settledown. Beed the Philly
in Michigan.
The Panthers are down 2-0-0 in this
game. And Brady Chuck went
off. I want to stop.
Jack, can I interrupt here? I want to offer
advice to Ryan when he's doing
his Pinder Report and this comes up.
Let's work top
to bottom or left to right. Sure.
Because you're aware, Philly
in Detroit and you're what?
I want to follow along.
If you want to do all 11 games,
I'm with you.
Why not?
Toronto Buffalo.
It's a sports show.
We can't talk flames all day.
I'll tell you that.
Sabers,
nice rally.
They win 5'4 in overtime.
Senators get a shootout victory.
Senators look good.
Olmark looks good.
And they're without Eklon,
10 to 12 weeks we heard yesterday for his lower body issue.
They're not missing Brady.
Although Brady performed yesterday.
It's two games in a row.
He's been nails.
Seattle's hanging around.
I don't know that they're going to last,
but they have been scoring enough,
and they're in a playoff spot.
They're kind of scrappy and fast.
Very early.
Deep but not overly skilled is probably how I described them.
We told you about the Florida result.
That's back-to-back natural hatchericks for Brady,
two games in a row.
I think that's a big win for Florida,
because Vancouver's horse bleep,
and the Panthers haven't been as outstanding as people were.
A lot of games on the road to start.
Now you've lost Barkov, this and that.
But still, you're thinking like this team's,
they're healthy, they're back, they're going to cruise.
It's probably a battle.
Surprise of the night.
Devils destroy the Rangers have looked good early.
No, Shus Dirk.
Who's the goal in with the Rangers?
There's this Gerard, Gellon, or Dylan Garand?
Garand, thank you.
And then they just inked James Reimer and Corpicello's come back from injury.
I don't know that any of those.
It's gross.
It's close to Shirk and you might have six skaters.
We've got our guests.
We'll get to him in just a moment.
We'll finish wrapping.
Connor Bernard looks great.
Another couple points last night.
They win in overtime against Winnipeg at the Maddose on Madison.
Sharks get a win in a shootout.
What happened there?
We had some reporting.
Yeah, some live.
We had some live reporting from Nashville last night, I believe.
It's one of our own.
Brunk is there.
Tough one here tonight at the Bridgestone.
Edel Dick was spectacular.
Catherine Sillabrini, the winner in the shootout.
Stamler scores at 0.8 left.
Big win for the sharks.
I have to piss.
Thank you, Dean.
Really have to piss.
Just turn it off.
There we are.
Yeah, I hope you're sure.
End it there, Jack.
Jack, cut it, cut it.
Other finals, the wild five, four winners over St. Louis.
You had quit using on the action there.
Mammoth hand, the Oilers, a loss in Edmonton.
They'll go back to Utah for their next.
It's a home and home, and we already talked at great length about Vegas and Calgary.
Let's get to our guest hotline for Crystal Waters.
This is the season for a deal.
Winters coming.
You need new furnace.
Why not get a deal on the end of season?
AC special.
One guy in there to put them both in for you.
Crystal Waters wants to be the guardian for your home,
whether it's air control, water control, furnace, garage heater,
AC.
We know nothing about the things where you go in that room and you're like,
I don't know how this works.
Crystal Clear Calgary.
com is all you need to know.
Hotline we go.
Well, it's a familiar old friend of the show.
Hey, look at this guy.
Hey, guys.
Mike.
How you guys doing?
Just the water.
No, no, just the water.
Right.
Hey, how about those Utah Mammoth?
They're my new favorite team.
Yeah, I like the owner there.
They've done a great job, Michael.
They're doing great.
They looked great last night.
Well, you're in Vancouver.
What's going on?
Give us the other thing.
We haven't shouted with you in ages.
Yeah.
Hello.
First off, good to see you.
guys. Yes, I'm in Vancouver. I got here last night. There is a NHL alumni event here today for Canucks
autism. Okay. So I think it's very similar to the Gordy Howe in Calgary. It's just for a different cause.
So we, I'm sitting here. Actually, we just went for a real nice walk along the water. Yeah, me and Matthew
Barnaby, wandering around a little bit. We've got a little luncheon today this afternoon. Then I think it's
probably a couple drinks there.
We're going to a draft party tonight.
It'll be on.
And then a little hockey Saturday Sunday.
And then I fly to Calgary Sunday evening.
And I'm there basically for the week other than a quick trip to Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
Oh, wayburn.
Go big wings.
The Red Wings.
Yes, me and Andre Waar going there on Thursday.
But other than that, I'm in Calgary.
That's exciting to here.
Red, are you going to respond to that email?
Are we, or am I going to feel?
I mean, I did.
I just don't do.
reply all like you.
Okay, thank, okay, okay.
Thank God, because I was sitting here.
I'm looking at the email.
It was you, Robin, Marty, and me.
And the only response I saw was Marty's out watching Penn State.
There's an 0-4 celebration.
I don't know if next Saturday, I think.
So all I saw is I'm in.
I'm like, this better not be the 2004 than their cart and just me out there.
Hey, guys.
Thanks for having me.
I thought we were good enough.
They'd bring a bunch of guys in, but apparently no.
Apparently not.
They got the glue guys in.
Don't worry.
Retro, I like that.
That's a good start.
I like it.
Barnaby,
any scraps on the seawall if you're out there with Barnaby?
Oh,
no,
no,
but Barnaby's a fixture at these things.
Matthew Barnaby,
Brad May,
Andre Waugh.
There's like a group of guys that there's like,
and Barney's one of them.
He goes,
coast to coast,
he puts the time in.
So,
yeah,
he's a good dude.
He's a good.
He didn't fight.
anybody walking around Vancouver. He's, he's mellowed in his older age. Yeah. He also, yeah,
he hasn't had a cocktail yet today either. So we shall see. It's early. It's early. It's early.
How have you been? I heard it's been screaming hot in the fall down in the desert. You'd be happy to
get up to Vancouver. Yeah. It has been hot. It's cooled off now. It's actually down there. It's been
raining a ton. Yeah. Like, you know, obviously it doesn't rain much in the desert. But it's,
it's been porn, which
it worked out really good with the timing.
I actually, guys, it's after six years
of renting and
loving every second of it.
If there's a problem, just call the property
manager and got to check
at CLA. You guys were talking
about air conditioning units there earlier.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I ain't calling
Crystal Waters. Somebody else is when you're
renting a place. Your property manager's
calling Crystal Waters. Perfect.
Uh-huh. Yeah, I bought a house
for the dogs and yeah,
the backyard wasn't done.
So that worked out really well with end of day's rain for like two weeks.
But we've gotten through it and moving along.
Okay.
But all as well.
You got a casino in the backyard there.
You got a space for visitors?
No, no.
No, but I know, I know.
I know, Redd.
I got to save some of my money,
Wrette, a little bit.
But I'm happy to say I do have three bedrooms that are available.
There's no beds in them, but you got a room.
We're passing out anyway.
It's fun.
Yeah, yeah, just bring your sleeping bag.
New carpet at least, so you're right on the floor.
Tile.
It's hardwood floor.
You're going to have to go with the hardwood floor.
Yeah, I got tile.
Tile in the bedroom.
I want to touch a couple of NHL with these just issues with you just to get your thoughts.
I enjoyed your Utah Mammoth showed out out of the gate.
That's just very on brand.
We love you for it.
How do you view this sort of, I guess, I don't know if it's a changing of the guard or a shift in the way the NHL operates.
but you've seen Larkin, you know, I guess swallow his tongue a bit,
return to the team, and you've seen Connor Hullabuck take the opposite approach.
This is a very different day and age than the one that you played in.
Brady Kachuck got himself out of Ottawa right quick.
Yeah.
How do you feel about all this?
Because players have power, which is great of your player.
But then also there's like, are we missing some loyalty now?
Like, how do you feel about all this?
Yeah, I would say I'm torn.
Like I think it's at the end of the day, you know, I like seeing the players, you know,
have a little power and be able to do kind of, you know, be able to dictate a little bit.
But I also see the other side of it where it's like, hey, you know, you did sign a contract and,
you know, you should live up to that contract.
So I see both sides of it.
I think it kind of, for me, kind of boils down to, you know, what the situation is.
I mean, the Larkin one's a little, Larkin needs to, and I don't know the guy at all, you know,
but I follow a little bit with the wings and a couple of buddies of mine that worked there.
and this isn't coming from them,
but for me, like,
hey, look, like,
you didn't like how things were going
a little earlier.
Things have changed up top there.
You know, it's already public
that you want to trade.
You're going to have to take it here.
I think it's good that he's playing.
His body language could be a little bit better,
but at the end of the day,
it's like, do it would be a pro,
just own it.
I feel like it would go a little better for him.
First off, he has to play well,
and it would help if they started winning some games.
But the body language could use a little work,
The Hellebuck one, I mean, I would imagine Helibuck was sitting there hoping the Jets tank, unfortunately, for him, they've been on fire.
But, yeah, yeah, I guess I don't really have a good, like, I think it's great that I like how the Sends handled it, to be honest.
I'm never going to be running an NHL team.
I mean, I couldn't even run a fantasy team, I'm sure.
But I would like to think that if I was ever running a team, like, I think I would have handled it more like, hey, look, like, I'll just use the Ottawa Senator.
for an example, hey, it should be a privilege to be here in Ottawa.
If you don't want to be here, we don't want you here and get rid of them.
Now, obviously, you know, you've got to do his best you can and you've got to try and hopefully
it's not public that he wants out because then you're going to get taken advantage of a little
bit.
But I think that's how I would try and handle these things because he's long drawn out things.
At the end of the day, I don't think it's good for anyone.
But be interesting to see what happens in Detroit.
If I had to guess, Dylan Larkin, he's going to need to be a lot of.
open up his, I don't know,
what's he got, three teams on his list or something?
It's not super public, but I think
it's, the top of his list has been
Minnesota for a while. And I think
Stevie Y was like, great, I'm not doing
that. But now it's Sean Horcoff, and I'm
kind of with you, like the best way for Dylan Larkin
to get out of Dodge is to play well.
Yes, it is. And
here, if I had to guess, here's how Sean
Horcoff, I think, is going to handle this.
The end of the day, he's in, and I don't, he didn't
tell me this. This is me guessing.
Yes, he's the interim GM. And I think,
he's going to stick with his guns and how he thinks this should go.
And if it doesn't work out, at least he went down swinging and he's not going to get bullied
around and pushed around into a deal that makes no sense.
I think in his mind, no deal is better than a bad deal.
So, A, Larkin's got to play well, but I think just as important or maybe more important,
if he wants to get out of there, he's going to have to open that list up.
If it's like three teams, we're going to have to, you're going to have to open her up
if you want out of here.
If it's three teams, they've approached those three teams and it doesn't work.
Yes.
100%.
Yeah.
Like, you're right.
I don't think it's public, but it's like, well, with a, they say Minnesota, Florida and was it Vegas or something like that?
Oh, okay.
I mean, the only one that's a little odd there is Minnesota, but, you know, his buddy Hughes and Bill Garrett and all that stuff.
That's the team where you're like, he can be the one C there.
The other teams, no.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So we'll see.
It's interesting.
gives us a little something to talk about anyway.
I give them credit for at least going.
I don't like the hell of a buck thing.
Sure.
I don't like any of it because I don't think it looks good on the players.
And it's an absolute far as far as using that no trade clause.
Totally.
Yes.
I don't agree with it.
And I know that PA is standing up.
We should be backing the players as alumni, but I don't agree with it.
If you have a no trade, that means they can't come to you and move your ass.
I'm okay with that part.
The moment you say I want to trade, it's carte blanche.
They should be able to put you anywhere.
I agree.
I agree with that too.
I think Craig Button, I heard you guys say this before,
and I think Craig Button said it as well.
I think that's, hey, look, if you got a no trade or you got 3T, whatever,
and that's okay.
But the moment, I agree with that.
Like, I think that's pretty fair.
If I'm unhappy sitting here playing for the Vancouver Canucks,
and I got a no trade and I go in and I tell Ryan Johnson,
I'm like, hey, you know, I want out of here.
Well, okay, you want out of here.
Now I don't know how you're going to
maybe put it in writing or something like that
so there's some kind of record.
Well, now I can trade you wherever I want.
Yeah, it's not a trade me here list.
That was never put in the CBA.
That's how they're being used.
What the senators and the wings
and the Jets promised these players was
we won't trade you.
You have control over leaving here in the sense of...
You can build a casino.
Yes, you can build the casino, you can sell in,
you get that dog run done,
you can buy a secondary property.
We will not move you.
but the moment you ask, that's not what these were built for.
This isn't, I want to be the GM and trade myself out of here, Claus.
No.
Yeah.
You know what?
I totally agree.
I will say, you know, and we don't need to go down this line at all with the hell of buck situation.
I agree with Redd, like, hey, would have been nice to show up.
Like, give Larkin credit for that.
I'm sure everybody saw that video.
I mean, what were they?
When he's hurt the first game and let's put him on the big screen.
I don't know whose idea what that was.
Maybe that was, I mean, it's just...
He'll laugh about it, but he should have done a big bow and been like,
that's the body language you're talking about.
He knows this is easier.
They're like a beat dog, yeah.
The hell of buck thing, I do, there's a little bit of the angle there as well.
Like, and we don't need, I don't want to go down this line at all.
Like with what happened last year and with what, you know, with the Olympics and kind of
the whole thing that turned into.
Yeah, off the ice.
Like that was,
that was completely out of control.
So I kind of feel for him a little bit.
But anyways,
moving along.
We don't need that.
It's over.
Like, I'm sorry.
You're not getting booed
because of the U.S.
Olympic team this year.
That's not reason.
Like, come on.
No, that can be fine for your reason to want to leave.
It's just that you have to handle it.
You coming out before camp,
what was it, 10 days and writing a letter?
Like, shut up.
Shut up.
What gives a shit about your letter?
Like, show up and they'll trade you when they can.
Like, what are you doing?
Yeah, I agree.
I don't disagree.
I don't disagree at all.
I hear you.
I hear you.
What else has caught your eye around the league?
Are you just happy to be on the alumni?
Let's have a few cocktails and play some hockey with some scrubs circuit right now.
You know, I actually, the last time I touched my high, I think it had to get it shipped in.
You guys know how much it is to ship hockey gear.
Oh, my God.
What a joke.
I mean, I wish they would have just kept it or lost it.
Last time I skated was the Shorzie game in Calgary last year.
So what was that?
You were good.
I haven't seen my gear since.
It's been in my parents' place.
I just realized that a few days ago, or not a few days ago, sorry, a couple months ago.
So I had my buddy shipping, ground shipping from Calgary to Vancouver was $400.
I mean, I thought that was outrageous.
You bought new gear.
I know, yeah, and break that.
And you want to know how long that would have taken, it would have taken me 15,
years to break it.
It would have slowed you down one bit.
You don't go back next.
That's true.
We had Croner on on Wednesday.
Was he that good in that game?
I wasn't out of it.
Everyone was raving about Cron and Nett.
Hey, look,
there's dead serious here.
Brian McGratton was the first star.
Okay?
And then that was deserved.
Brian McGratton played great.
Taking nothing away from the big fella,
Brian McGratton.
Brent Cron was amazing.
I mean,
amazing.
the second half of that game
I think we played two periods
we got off to a hot start
we didn't know what to expect and we brought kind of the big guys
out and it was what like 11
not 11 9 to 1
or no no no sorry
first five minutes it was like six cops something like that
anyway second half of the game
we kind of let off the gas a little bit
Brent Cron
was amazing
to the point where I was sitting there when I was
I kind of you know do a skate by
and I'm watching them
Brent Cron, he ain't 200 pounds anymore.
You know what I mean?
I was keeping on.
He was amazing.
He brought people to their feet.
They were cheering for him.
It's got to be a highlight of his goaltending career.
I'll tell you that.
Yeah, I was there when he was drafted.
We were hoping the Shoresy game wouldn't have been the highlight,
but it probably was.
It's up there.
It's up there for sure.
He was amazing.
Amazing.
He didn't get first star.
And to be honest, he was so winded.
at the game.
He's on it off, yeah.
He was gone.
You said you're coming to Calgary Sunday.
We got to prepare you for what you're going to walk into here.
Because everyone's been saying rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, rebuild.
You could argue they traded their best four players in the last year.
That would be Weeger and Anderson and Cadry and Coleman.
Yeah.
I guess if you're asking for a rebuild, you've got to be okay allowing touchdowns.
They've done it four times now.
Yeah, they've been paying attention.
I watch some of that, well, they're,
win there. I watched some of that Ducks game there on the
hockey frenzy day or whatever.
Yeah.
They got God, I thought there was, I thought the green jacket was going to be coming
out of the Pacific Northwest this year.
It might be coming out of southern Alberta.
We got some guys making some birdies at an amazing clip.
And I don't know that the players
moving around the ice so much of the guy standing in the net that's
Okay, I haven't watched enough to have like a total, total opinion.
It's a bit about, but it's certainly not being cleaned up.
Like we, I made a long career of having good goaltending.
Sure.
This is not happening in Calgary.
You were doing those contracts with this.
He's kind of never mind.
He said maybe, you know, the one, we were never goals scores, but, and that kid has an
amazing story.
Well, there's no question, he's done very well for himself.
I'm not, but there's kind of a lot of net.
to shoot at, isn't there, a little bit
when he goes down.
Has been his whole career, but when it looks bad,
it looks like there's more net there. That's fair.
Yeah, yeah. So.
You can't give up six, three times and seven
once. I agree. I say the goal
ending's fine. Yeah. That is a lot
of goals. That is a lot of goals.
How's the R. L.
Fiam on the back end, who he
is in the run, correct, right?
Yeah, he'll be very talented,
but who
long off the sea, great approaches.
He would be hard to play with, Blake.
Okay.
Right now, yeah.
Right now.
Yeah, he's young.
Hey, look, I'm giving him.
I'm not ripping on him at all.
I'm ripping on him at all because he's...
Hey, if you want high-end skill, he's going to have to learn.
Yes, unique and talented.
But if it was you and I beside him, we'd be like, where to go?
Where is he?
Change.
I'm just going to go stand in front of our own net for the whole shift.
Sooner or later, the puck's coming here.
I'll try and block it.
So next weekend in Calgary,
You're going to be there.
I know there were in the old reds with the Black Sea that you guys
famous in 04.
They're doing that only against the opponents you played in 04,
which is pretty cool,
a nice little promotion for the flames.
Yeah.
What else have you got lined up for your visit?
It could be plus 20 or minus 20.
We don't know.
Yeah, I didn't bring much for clothes.
I don't really have a whole lot.
Well, here we got, well, I mean, being completely honest,
I here we got a pretty big vote there on Monday.
I'm going to partake of that.
Yeah, I'm going to do that.
Exercise your Democratic rights.
Yep.
That's right.
Yep.
You can't bitch if you don't vote, my opinion.
Unless you want to be old...
He does that, yeah.
Yeah, I mean, Boomer can just keep bitching.
You guys let him go to Nashville by himself, by the way?
We actually put him in a time machine.
This is him when he's 18.
We got sitting on the far left of the screen.
That young boom over here.
Young boom.
Young boob's awfully quiet.
But, yeah, no, not a whole lot.
Just take care of some stuff.
Hang out with the parents a little bit.
Yeah, not a whole lot.
Probably during Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
he'll be pretty calm, quick out to Weyburn back on Friday.
And then, yeah, I'm kicked out of the parents' house for Friday.
Apparently, they have some friends visiting, so I am not welcome to spend the night.
So I won't be a mom's basement.
I'll be downtown Friday, Saturday night.
So maybe looking to get after it next weekend.
All right.
If you guys are interested, I will be downtown at the O'Clair Sheridan, my favorite hotel.
I'll be thirsty by then.
That sounds great.
Perfect.
I love that hotel.
Every time I walk in, they say, hi, Mike.
Good to see you. Good to see you guys.
Hey, Mike, what's your favorite bottle again?
We'll get that sent here.
Oh, God. The customer service there is second to none for me.
Bobby Germany, anything for Mr. Commeter?
Yeah, I'll ask one question. I'll finally speak up.
Okay.
So, as we know, it's going to be a long year here in Calgary.
You know, like I was going through your DV page.
I don't think you went through a rebuild.
God, that guy went to the finals like five years in a row.
It's unbelievable, yeah.
How would you feel about playing on a rebuilding team and, like, how would you approach
the season. Because I got to think
the guys in the Flames locker room this year. It's going to be a long year
for those guys. Yeah.
I think if you're, I think
the hardest part of, well,
I would say, that's a really good question.
I would say, let's say if I was like an older guy,
let's say if I was, you know, one of the old, let's say if I was like a,
I don't know, white cloud, maybe you're a veteran guy.
That would be hard, right? Because you're like,
man, you know, this isn't, you know, I would like.
I've already made the league. I'd like to win some.
I'd like to win some.
I'd like to win some games here.
I don't need to be racking up the minuses.
But I think I would approach it in the room and everything like that.
I would try and keep me personally,
I would try and keep everything kind of loose and have some fun
and make the best of it.
I'd be watching the young guys to make sure they're working.
And then for myself,
I think I would try and remember what somebody told me
way back in the day in the American Hockey League
because I ended up playing a couple 250 games
in the American.
League, you know, the three and threes and stuff like that. And I never forget, I forget who told
me, but it's something to keep in mind, you never know who's watching. And in the NHL, there's
people there, obviously every game. It's not like the American League where who knows, you know,
usually there are, but, you know, there's always somebody watching. So you, you, at the end of
the day, you're in the NHL, it's a privilege. And sure, maybe things, you know, it's going to be a
tough year in Calgary, but play with some pride, play with some grit, and you never know where, you never know
where it can take you. That's how I think I would approach it. That's a good point because a lot of
these vats are like, shoot, like you only get so many seasons. This one feels like it's already lost,
but it's like, hey, do some things. You might end up on a contender after the dead on. Who knows?
100%. You never know who's watching. Thank you, Mike. We're excited to have you in town next week.
I'll kick some button in Vancouver and hopefully it's not raining out there, brother. Yeah, no. It's
beautiful right now. Thank you very much. And yeah, you guys keep Friday, Saturday and
if you guys want to have a few beers, I will be down.
I can't go back to back, Mike,
but I'll be there Saturday.
Okay, okay.
And you know what, that's fine.
I understand Saturday's plenty.
I will see you Saturday, Pinder.
You guys want to get after it Friday?
Let me know.
Yeah, we'll see if, yeah.
Don't get in your drinking before the show and getting him side.
Then go into your eye optometrist appointments.
Don't do that either.
Yeah, no, I'm not doing it.
Yeah, the next thing to Doc.
I got to be there.
It goes from yearly to monthly because he thinks I have glaucoma,
because my eye pressures are.
Call Vlad. He's got an eye doctor. He'll take it.
All right, guys. Take it easy. I'll see you guys next week.
There's Mike Commodore on the Crystal Waters plumbing and heating hotline.
Your crystal clear choice for home comfort, 5873171551. We talked about ACs.
We've talked about furnaces. You've also got the garage heaters.
Is the water in your house clean? You've got water filtration systems, also air filtration.
They want to be in charge of your, the guardian of your, the guardian of your.
home and why not again chrycliclair calgary dot combe for more always good to catch up with
what a beauty i think uh the question answer is an important one because we've asked you that and you're
like i i really been on one of those teams i haven't and which is weird because you're on an expansion
team right but it was never let's build yeah and like even this group that husk had two years ago
like 96 points.
Like you're in it right till the last week.
Like they had a,
the game 82 was finding finally meaningless.
It was the last game of the year that didn't matter.
It's going to start like feeling like games don't matter real quick.
It doesn't already.
Yeah.
Totally different mindset.
They usually had the,
well,
I'm sure they still do the standings up in the training room.
No, Bob.
We don't need to see that.
Maybe put the sunshine girl up instead out of it.
That's not motivation.
We're going to do the,
major league
peeling of something
off of a picture maybe
either that or less more
here's our California road trip
in January and we're going to Florida here
let's provide some different incentives to work
it just feels like one of those years where
like these guys know who's good
and who's not these guys know what good teams are
and what aren't they like they know like there's not
a lot of hope this year in that locker room
because like I said you don't have those
vets anymore that can kind of wheel you to
to a few more wins you know this is a bunch
of third liners and, you know, bottom four defensemen.
So it's good stuff.
Kids, let's go kids. Kids.
Kids, kids are great.
Back to the Pinda Report for Village Honda.
It's a little history last night.
Patrick Kane has returned to Chicago.
He and Baddard are finally together.
And how about this?
Most assists ever by an American player, 895.
He's been the guy, Bobby, because you've been all over this file that's done the hip
resurfacing and come back and look like the player was before.
That seems to be the outlier with the surgery that he
Heardos undergone and still trying to come back from.
It helps when you're Patrick Kane,
when you're one of the most gifted offensive players
in the history of the game and has that vision in hands.
Yeah.
He's never really had to rely on his feet too too much.
That's fair.
Which is where we might see a difference with Huberto.
But yeah, he ended up passing former flame Phil Housley.
Phil the house for most assists by U.S.
Born player.
He was sneaky good.
He was good.
I think if we give 10 guesses, we'd have Phil Housy there.
Oh, yeah.
That's right.
He did a Pellup points for Mike Madano.
100% Medano.
Sure.
Maybe it could Chuck or a duck.
Wade or so. Yeah. Crazy.
Hall famer. He was
a good flame too. He put
up some points here on some bad teams.
He really did. And I think he followed
McKinness Souter
and it was like, oh, okay.
Maybe this isn't a death blow
because McKinness Hall fame. That's
tough L. But Housley was there to
East the blow for a while.
We'll keep moving tonight's games.
Spin us some tunes, Jack. This won't take long.
Plus we got an extra set of brains in here.
One guy actually slept around the table with Bobby.
two games tonight
Can you name
Bobby Bruns and Ducks
Can you name Sam?
Matt Baleski
Whoa
Matt Baleski
There you go
Baird Nudes
Damn it I wish we always quit
Wow
That was fun
You want to try again
With different names?
We're good
You move on
Let's go to the
MLB post season
It is final
all the brew crew sweep the Dodgers.
We touched on this earlier.
They're still drinking in Milwaukee.
I don't know if they ever stopped.
But, yeah, the NL champs, your MVP of the series.
I believe it was, is it Braun?
He had, Bauer, excuse me, wrong last name.
He had the monster hit in game three, the home run late.
I think he had the other, of a massive at bat in game two as well.
Yeah, there was the 10 pitcher in game three, 10 pitch at bat.
It was a 12 pitch of bat in game two.
Holy.
Yeah, that's how you're
good MVP, I guess.
The MVP. Sure.
What's left, we still have the ALCS
to figure out the Guardians did win yesterday.
They're up 2-1 in this series.
Come on, Cleveland.
At home to the raise.
And pretty close.
Look at that money line.
I mean, this is almost a pick-um, fellas.
Is this tonight?
Yes.
Six o'clock, Jackie.
You got some playoff baseball.
I need a food hall.
Baseball.
Food hall baseball.
That's my Friday night.
Yeah.
Very good.
wings have oh yeah your penguins play where we had on the pens we haven't really done the uh the the jack
off of their dead oh no have you have you have you have you cashed out of that dan me muse futures
that you know stuck it doesn't let me i got out of that quick i was like okay it was a good idea
then it isn't now cash they're like they're 500 now like they're not that jack they're middle
the pack. I mean, people like the rookie goal
in this. Oh, he is.
Mershev. Yeah, the Russian goalie.
Yeah. He's been all right. I mean,
sports fandom is all about highs and lows.
I don't know if I've ever met someone who is as high
and as low as Jack when it comes to the Steelers and Penguins.
Yeah. The emotional roller coaster
is insane. It's basically like we're a
dynasty or fold the team. There's nothing in the middle.
It's incredible. We're in the wrong league.
It's just magic to watch.
We do need a jacometer up there, by the way.
I feel like you just glossed or went on this one.
Did you have one? We'll do that.
after our pets or something.
Yeah, we can do that today.
That's good.
Keep moving on the Pender Report Thursday night football last night.
We talked about a bit of a snooze fest.
Both offenses really struggled to get anything going.
It was JSN by committee, the backfield in Denver got it done.
Bo Nix was no good.
The under did hit, 31.
We worried about it, but it wasn't even close.
My kid in the first quarter is like, Dad, this game's going to overtime.
I'm like, son, there's three quarters left.
Don't be a moron.
There's a very low probability.
At the end of the day, I'm like, why did I just put
five bucks on overtime.
Is that the genius math one?
Yeah, no surprise.
I could have got him a mystery mini.
The winnings on that week.
No, Jack, that's illegal.
Please play responsibly.
But if he wants to start some algorithms and spreadsheets,
Daddy can use them.
Okay.
Reminded, there's a Sunday game, Jack,
so set your alarm earlier,
at least set your lineup at mid-bting.
Oh.
Who said, ugh, and who said good one?
I said good one.
I said, ugh.
I agree.
Jacksonville is actually good.
good and I think Houston's much better
now you got Stroud and a receiving
cord they can't run the ball wall so they're just going to
haul it down the field all night. I'm excited to see
Marvin Harrison. Are you? Yeah.
I don't know that you will. I think he'll be better
there but I also just think it's not like
he was open and they couldn't get him the ball.
And you did it's change. You did for sure.
What's going on to Texans? I mean, like going
into the year, everyone's saying that they could be the
favorite out of the AFC. Best defense.
They just think of a mess. Their D last year was fun.
Oh, so good. Well, this is a tough game.
as well. I mean, Jacksonville looks legit.
Like, they'd be the favorite to win that
AFC South of us. Yeah, they're up there in the Super Bowl.
Do you guys not have Jacksonville and London fatigue?
Like, it's just every week.
They were there last week.
Well, they are there every year.
Yeah. It's not by accident.
Jacksonville is not a mecca for revenue.
And what is it? Shad Khan that owns the team.
He knows what he's doing.
If there's ever a team over there.
It's them, yeah.
Could be.
I've had enough. I'm tired of the Jags.
Do you like the morning starts, though?
Are you an early morning guy?
No, I'm not a morning guy.
No, I'm not.
When you get to retinize age, you're like, oh, okay.
Well, I'm having a coffee.
It doesn't serve for two hours.
There's a popcorn and a coffee.
Here you go.
Throw an egg on the frying pan.
Let's go.
Actually, the Steelers have one of those next week.
Are they in Ireland?
They are in Paris.
I think that is still to be determined because there's some stuff going on over there.
Yeah, there is some stuff.
It's never boring in France.
Yeah.
They're in rough shape.
They would probably play at Stad to France,
which is where a PSG plays.
in the French national team.
It is
huge.
That will be,
if it happens,
Jack, you should go.
Yeah,
I think it's probably
a little too late,
but direct flight.
Get in there.
You had a week to set it up.
It's the in and out.
Bang, bang.
That's your Pinda Report this Friday,
October 16th of 2026.

I got to say the CRV is a help vehicle.
It is built for down.
I lease that for a couple years when I had a real job.
Yep.
And what a vehicle.
It's fantastic.
Did you miss the real job?
I kind of.
There are days.
Jack's been looking for a real job.
I've never had a real job.
Don't do it, Jack.
Don't need a real job.
You don't know what you have until it's gone.
You don't need a real job.
You think you're going to,
AI is going to allow you to keep a real job?
I doubt that.
You see the flying car at you roll?
They're everywhere.
Everyone said I'm an idiot.
I was bang on.
Right and nailed us.
And they're getting better.
That flying car we showed a couple of years.
Dusty as hell.
Got to figure it out, I guess.
When do you get one?
Well, when Honda makes one, I'll get one.
No, that's a good deal.
It's not bad at all.
Makes sense.
Our good pals at Shane Holmes are donating money for every save a Flames goalie makes all season.
Well, let's pick it up.
Shane Holmes who've been building homes and communities for Calgary families for more than 47 years, almost a half century, with more than 1,600 homes built and counting.
16,000 homes.
Oh, my gosh.
Placeholder pender.
Look at that.
Wow, that's a lot of homes.
And counting.
They know what they're going.
Proud to keep growing alongside this city that they call home.
Build your next chapter.
Visit Shane Holmes.com.
Yep.
And last night, the save total.
How do we do with Dustin Wolfenet?
He did face 33.
So that's 27 saves at,
that's a lovely contribution to kidsport caliber from Shane Holmes.
So thank you to them.
And yeah, Dustin, it wasn't the,
allow three on the first six and it was over early.
It was again, the third period.
Do you see a little?
little sag in the team when they know
they're out of runway? I think
so. And like, I mean, he led
in two goals pretty early. I mean, he led him the first shot of the game.
Yes. You called it the Jacob Marksum
special. Exactly. Yeah. I mean, I
got to think those are killers on the bench.
Like, you got to look up and down the bench and just be like,
we got to win this game 2-1 and
first shot of the game, Vegas scores.
There's a puddle of water out there. Doesn't it?
Yeah. We won nothing. Get in.
That's, that's a tough way to start a game in
Vegas.
Yeah. Well, when you're hungover as
Oh, hell. That's what's going to happen.
So you're a glue guy.
If you were planning the Vegas trip and the boys were going out, how would you go about it?
You don't plan anything.
You're just spontaneous. You just go for it.
I'm going to go to a restaurant and see how.
And that's what I mean.
Like what restaurant are you going to are you picking a certain club?
Or are you just going for it?
You're just boring it.
We always joked on the old show.
People would be like, I'm going to Vegas.
Do you have any tips for me?
It's like, yeah, you're in Vegas.
Walk around.
Like, there's a million things to do.
You want to go see comedy.
You want to go see circus stuff.
you want to go see, you know, live music act.
I really liked the ad.
Great food.
Good show.
Absent.
Boom,
always raped about that show.
And it's right in front of,
Caesar.
That's right.
Yeah, it's good son up there.
Your idea for a Vegas weekend, though,
sounds unbelievable.
Like this weekend with the bills in town,
my brother's there.
Hold.
They were all the TV.
They were the ones with the flames.
That was your brother?
Yes.
That might be Dr. Jay on that trip.
Come on.
Oh, my Goddell.
Oh, my Goddell?
Oh, my Goddell.
Oh, Dr. Jay, we love you.
So if you're looking for snoring treatment, it might not be Dr. Jay for the next couple days,
and he'll be back.
Even bottle collectors can come in and fix some of their snoring issues.
That hair is wild.
I do every, I look at it.
I'm like, oh, man, like I really did embrace that COVID hair.
It was just let it rip.
Some people thought so.
Other people were like, what are you doing?
One of them that felt their way right between us.
Like, don't.
I'm going to come in with some sheep shears one of these days.
When you got it tied up back like that,
I actually think it looks pretty decent.
All right, tuck it.
Settle down.
A little if you are snoring,
it doesn't mean you just lose quality sleep.
It's also the person next to you, Bobby.
They've got the Salea laser, what they do,
two 15 minute treatments,
a little topical pain killer.
You won't feel a thing pain free.
Laser back and forth across the soft palate.
Tighten it up ever so slightly.
Less flapping, less snoring,
and better sleep for everyone in your house.
The other good news,
if you've got a medical plan of sorts,
It's a lot of this, if not all of it will be covered, which is great to hear.
So check out more at outdoor.
Dental down by the South Health Campus.
We're talking state of the art dentistry, 3D printing stuff on site day of.
Get away from the old tink, tink, tink, chisel and hammer dentists.
Get down to outdoor.
I got a little problem with the wisdom tooth coming in right now.
So I haven't, haven't got them taken out.
I've got them.
Oh my goodness.
Oh, there we go.
Is Dr. Jay.
He is in there.
Yes.
Yes.
How did they get those shirts?
Blazers, please.
Oh, there are shirts too.
Double up.
Wow.
Well, I hope they had fun.
I feel like they're hurting right now.
Are they going to the concert?
Is that tonight you're at?
Tomorrow.
I think of a recovery.
Optional.
Optional.
I feel like today's a pool day.
Today is probably a pool day, big meal.
It's hard to rest in Vegas.
So you can say that Friday's a down day, won't happen.
You're like, you're going to battle through.
We're just going to go live by the pool and relax.
The male.
Oh, Evici.
He's here and it's a party and it's new.
The male ego will not allow you to just pretend.
It is correct.
What's your Vegas max?
Two nights, three days?
I can't handle Vegas.
One night, two days?
I would be happy to.
In and out.
You can line it up where because of how late Vegas runs, Bobby,
you can come in at around the afternoon and leave in the morning.
You don't need a hotel room.
You don't need a bad.
That might be the way to go.
You need a wallet?
and maybe throw some pit stick.
Well, it's just like I said,
these guys think they're going to take Friday off.
Not happening.
Yeah, Friday in Vegas,
we're going to lay low.
I did three nights there a couple years ago.
It was way too much.
It was just way too much.
I couldn't have it.
It feels like it's the right thing to do.
And then you get home,
you're like, yeah, I'm destroyed.
And then you look at your bank account after,
and you're like, oh, my God, what was I thinking?
The exchange rate.
I forgot about the exchange rate.
We were at this, like, this, like, pool bar.
You know, like, DJ's playing,
like, you know, pool party, all that kind of stuff.
I go to get the boys some beers.
Get a bucket.
Oh.
It was $100 for a bucket of like four coronas.
100 Yank.
100 U.S.
I'm like, God damn.
This place is crazy.
Oh, a place to make tips.
Absolutely.
Dress accordingly.
I mean, pool boy Bobby.
Don't pet a burning duck, like that kind of tip?
No.
That was my uncle's stew's joke all the time.
Oh.
Here's a tip.
Don't pet a burning duck.
you're an idiot
done a lot of a
we'll move on
how about that
we'll just let that one
had quite the night
the rhino
you guys ever been
the rhino
no we don't do those
since okay let's move on
I might have had a restaurant

but not the place you're talking about
rhinocerosus
restaurants

yeah
wild game
well that was expensive food
hey how about Zane Perrick
um
retro you're dialed out
You got the Movember gear on.
Probably a good reason for us to talk about men's health.
It's not just one month.
We want to focus on some of the ailments that are specific to men.
We're talking about raising awareness and raising funds year round.
And Movember is a huge part of that.
Rhett is rocking the gear.
You know it.
And one.
I think a gold stash.
You should.
Mental health, suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer.
These are issues that demographic.
hit men very, very hard.
And that's what November's all about tackling the biggest issues facing men today.
Since 2003, they sparked millions of conversations and raised more than, wait for it,
1.8 billion Canadian and funded over 1,300 projects.
Make a grow commitment like I think Rhett's about to do.
Challenge a friend.
Host, do an event, travel, let's go see a buddy, do mose together, whatever it is.
Find your way to change men's health, to learn.
more visit
Movember.com.
We got to get Jack
to tighten up to Mo.
It's just, it's kind of a vote for
Pedro. No, don't ask.
Young Boone's not there yet.
Maybe next decade, Bobby.
Quite literally, I would need
six months to grow out something.
Yeah, or a felt pen. That's fine.
We were here to support you.
It's not great. It's not great.
Damn jeans.
Movember.com or
November. Thanks, dad.
The hat looks good on you.
It's a sharp.
I like that.
I sent one to Steve Montador's boy, because they call him.
Mo.
Is he playing hockey or what's he up to?
Baseball player.
Oh, really?
That a cowl.
Carolina's.
Well, that's nice.
Yeah, I know.
Good for him.
Ball, man.
A little ball.
Nice part of the country to play ball in.
Yeah, they don't have the icy roads as much I don't know.
You know, like fall or winter baseball gets in the, or snowflakes getting the way of getting
out in the field.
Yeah.
Fair enough.
Do we have a football picks day from Dino?
Because I know it's football pick day.
He submitted them on time.
Yeah, I do worry about him in Nashville.
Sometimes, you know, an ambitious idea for breakfast turns into a nap.
But we've got football picks.
We'll get to those in a moment.
The next action for the Flames, Bobby, it's Carolina, Minnesota, Detroit, Toronto.
Yikes.
Saturday is going to be fun, though.
I'm looking forward to that 040.
celebration. I got some
buddies coming in Vancouver now.
Yeah, we're going to be flooring it that night. So I'm looking
forward to that. Rat, maybe can get me some
VIP passes behind the scenes.
That would be great if you could help us up.
Maybe talk to Don Maloney
or good pal like you get you some seats, right?
Are they doing just
more than once?
Yeah, so all the opponents they played on your run in
2004 are the games that they're going to wear those jerseys.
Which is a kind of a cool angle.
I don't know if they're doing like the big
celebration every night.
They're just having a couple people to each one.
I think that would make sense.
And it's just a different, you know, they're spaced out that way and you can honor the
team and have a great occasion and a reason why you were in the jersey, not just like
something happened.
For sure.
It's like, no, no, this was the team we play.
Now, is it better to celebrate a few times with like a few different players or bring
the whole team back together?
I'd love to have the whole team.
I think that'd be super cool.
I think the Calgary police force requested they break them into smaller cars.
Yeah, we'll get the red bile going.
Everybody was friendly and happy.
Yeah, it's good times are had by many.
Thank you, Red.
I saw some things I wouldn't have seen without your great work on the ice.
It might be hard to get all the boys together, though.
I mean, never get everyone.
That'd be time.
He's got a bunch of guys out and not around.
You know, you got Kipper in Finland.
I think we're just Suprikan live these days.
We've heard from him in a while.
I'll give you one guess, yeah.
Mother Russia.
Roman Turek, what's he up to these days?
I'd love to hear these things.
Europe to just crush.
I think so, yeah.
Do you know Czech Republic consumes more
rare per capita? Great beer drinker? Great beer.
More beer for capital. Wonderful. Any other nation.
The Czechs. It's impressive.
Oh, they're great at it. Make great beer.
Pilsner Cal and you build. The old
Budfire, the original Budwaters are. Oh, God, good stuff.
Jack, when we go to Prague? God.
You've actually been having enough? Yeah, I happened.
Can you go as a kid or something? I was there. Yes, I was very young.
I throw an idea out there.
Yeah. One of our sponsors should
pay for Jack to go to a Steelers game, either internationally or go to Pittsburgh,
another stadium, film the whole thing, do a big vlog.
Let's see Jack just lose his mind at a stadium, maybe getting a couple fights.
I like the idea, but his phone will be dead before the game starts,
and he'll be annihilated, there'll be no content, and the sponsor is going to be like,
where's the content?
That's where you said, Arj has to pay for a chaperone as well.
Yeah, just get RJ down there.
Not wrong on everything.
I was thinking rats.
Those two are not.
They don't sit.
Archie's a responsible guy.
He wouldn't do anything crazy on one of those trips, right?
That's like taking two purse dogs and letting them loose in a forest.
That is not the move.
You need a real chaperone.
You need a wolf to take Jackie around.

Football picks.
Let's get to it.
Could you make the football game then the hockey game?
Do they play Saturday?
Which football?
Oh, for the stamps?
The flames play Sunday.
All the stands are Sunday.
Okay.
Oh, you're right.
I wasn't.
That's right.
No, that's a good call.
It's next Saturday.
The next Saturday, the Bobby's going.
And that's a buy week for the stamps.
So I think you probably lost your flame stamps down lighter until playoffs.
Until the Grey Cup.
I actually think the Flames and Grey Cup are on the same day.
I think they play the same day.
It's going to happen.
It's going to happen, baby.
You're the horse.
There we go. Facts of fact.
Our football picks we do every week.
Dino had the clown makeup on last week.
He don't want that. He hates to dress up.
Really does.
Hates leaving his house.
Hates having to dress up when he leaves.
He is a national one for two.
Let's hope he stays out of the clown gear again.
This week, our picks every week.
We do them for Bet365 and a game as fast as hockey.
It pays to be early.
The same goes at Bet365, whether it's the early bird specials,
boosted pregame mods or instant mid-game.
game payouts with early payout. They are the barn for winning early this season. Bet 365,
the home of winning early. Alberta only must be 18 plus. Jack, and please play responsibly.
Football picks. I'm going to walk you through mine. We're going to go left to right. And Bobby,
if you have some on the way, that would be great as well. What are you two doing over there? Get
focused here. Football picks. Come on. I'm going to start with Rett's Buffalo Bills. This was five
and a half yesterday. Yeah, I will take the extra point. Buffalo is in Vegas. I don't think Vegas is bad, but I just watched Josh Allen and Josh Allen is still Josh Allen. I don't know if they're going to get DJ more, but they did it all without DJ more against the rain. It's not about DJ. It's not a lot of Josh Allen. Kansas City was minus eight and a half yesterday. They've got my lowly chargers. If you've been going just against the charges all year, you've been doing quite well. I'm not going to switch now. Four guys off the street on the O line.
lads hurt.
Justin Herbert's throwing picks.
It's a disaster.
Start selling at the deadline.
You need that Jeremiah Smith, Jack.
I'm going to take Kansas City minus seven a half in LA against, uh, in Kansas City against the
charges.
And finally I'm going to wrap it with Green Bay.
Dallas was awful last week.
Well, I think Dallas is off.
I've got them too.
Dallas is awful.
And I did this before where I thought Green Bay was, okay, they're going to get right.
I hope that was last weekend.
They carried it out a ton last week.
lots of deep balls. I don't think the Dallas defense is good. So I'm going to lean on Green Bay minus
one and a half. It is in Lambo against the Cowboys. That matters to me. It's a great home field
advantage. Those are my three picks this week. Retro? I got a lot of picks because I'm trying to catch
Jack and it's right. Wins. He has the under king over that wins. Did I actually pick Baltimore?
I hate Baltimore, but why not? They're good too. Cleveland this week for Baltimore. Is that right,
Jack? Yes. I tried to believe in Cleveland last week and they screwed me. So I won't do that again.
Atlanta's going to absolutely roll.
I don't even know who they play, but they're better than people give them credit for.
Well, since Pennix has come back, they've been much better.
They play the Bears.
That's right.
Who cares? I don't want Dean having any fun, so go Atlanta.
Atlanta plus one and a half at home to Chicago.
Next pick, you got Pittsburgh.
Jack.
It's my inspiration.
It's the reason I come to work every day.
So in New Orleans, Saints have been rough.
No, no, no, no.
in Tampa.
Oh, I'm sorry, I'm looking at next week.
Tampa's garbage.
Tampa's in real rough.
Yeah, that's why I was worried.
What it didn't sound.
Don't mind not at all.
Okay, Indy.
Everyone picked Indy.
Indy's at home to the Titans.
I think Indy's not bad.
The Titans are terrible.
I probably agree with that.
I told you about Green Bay.
And the only thing that can hold the Buffalo
bills back is a whole week in Vegas.
But I'm willing to risk it because they're my team.
See, you know, notice how the rest of these losers don't pick their teams.
Oh, it's pathetic.
It's pathetic.
I'm a true.
Are you telling me I should be picking the charges we against or we support your chargers?
They don't need to.
That's why there's points.
Not enough, but yep.
Boomer's got Jacksonville minus two and a half.
We told you they're the early game in London against Houston.
That's a big divisional battle.
If you're going to stay up and watch that.
Yeah, right.
San Francisco has looked great.
They are minus seven and a half are the Niners sitting atop the NFC at the NFC West.
They don't mind that lost that Seattle had last thing, do they?
San Francisco this week.
They are on Monday night at home to the commanders.
Let's see if their clock management's any better.
They don't know what commanders are.
They don't know how to use the clock.
I know that.
Booms on India as well, and Green Bay.
We've talked about those.
And Jack, you've been the under king.
Why in the world are you abandoning the unders?
There is so many low over unders this week.
They're on to you.
They are onto me.
Like, there's a lot of low 40s, high 30s.
So when they change, I got to change.
change.
Carolina's playing Philly on the road.
Philly's a dumpster fire.
No Hertz,
potentially no Sequin and Devante Smith as well.
It's probably likely all three are not on the field.
Yeah, and I like what I've seen from Carolina.
So I'll take them at three and a half on the road.
Pittsburgh,
this is probably going to bite me in the ass,
but I think they can pull out a win by at least a field goal in Tampa Bay.
They're rolling out that rookie quarterback.
He was someone impressive against the cowboys,
albeit, but I will take that.
Brett them with you on your bills,
playing Vegas.
I think Vegas had that
three and no starts.
They're going to come back down to Earth
and look like the shitty team that they are.
Casey against Pinders Chargers.
Yuck.
Yuck, yuck.
Coming off a buy as well.
Andy Reid off a buy.
Very, very good.
Very, very good.
They're going to be happy to,
you think the charged defense
likes to see Kenny Walker on like 14 days rest?
Yikes.
And then the nightcap,
Green Bay and Dallas,
I'll take the over 52 and a half.
I think Dallas, they need to look better than what they did last week, especially offensively.
Get lamb involved.
I like what Green Bay showed last week on the offensive side of the ball as well, so I'll take the over 52.5.
Jack is leading the way at 14 and 8.
It's an impressive clip.
Bobby, do you have any go-to picks this week for us?
Bonus picks for Bet365.
The only one that you guys didn't talk about that I might be interested in would be New England over the New York Jets.
New England's at home.
Drake May, he popped off last week.
He looked fantastic.
The Jets are an abject failure.
It's in New England.
It's in Foxborough.
I kind of like that.
Breece Hall out as well.
It'll be more Braille and Allen.
He's been fine,
but it's not peak.
Somebody sucks for me because I can't pick certain teams.
Yeah,
that's fair.
Yeah, you can't pick the paths.
Seven and a half is the line.
Seven and a half is the line,
so you're going to have to win by more than a touchdown.
But if you've been better against the Jets the last decade,
you don't line lands a points.
That screams like a 14 to 17 point win for New England for me.
May did look good last week.
Ever since Jack told us he was buns,
he's been much better.
It's not true.
I said he was Buns at the beginning of the year, and he was.
I'm teasing you, buddy.
It's all good.
It's all good.
Those are our picks that only be yours.
Download the app,
Bet,
365.
This season,
play to win early.
The home of early winning is Bet365,
download the app.
Do it.
Supers,
did we get any today?
We had call me on.
We got a Friday show.
Retswear in the Hawaiian shirt.
Bobby Germany's the studio.
Let's do what's on the menu, though.
Oh,
that's right for DoorDash.
We got a gem tonight.
So what's for hockey is brought to you by DoorDash.
Here's the thing.
There's always something going on at night that you're like,
oh, boy, I would just love to park it.
Watch this thing.
I don't really need to cook, do I?
I like to get people that are experts out there.
You got shafts.
They can bring it right to your door.
Let's go.
What's on the menu is a presentation of DoorDash.
And tonight for DoorDash, we know the menu is limitless.
You can order any kind of food you want right to your door.
retro from just all the restaurants around town.
You've got to love that.
Hockey night, one of those rituals that brings everyone together.
DoorDash, an official partner of the NHL, make it easier to get your game night
favorites delivered.
So you can stay focused on the action and not miss a moment.
Wings, pizza, burgers, or your own go-to order.
DoorDash makes it easier to bring the whole game that experience together at home.
Good food, good company, and hockey.
And tonight on the menu, you can obviously dive into that two-game slate that we saw,
or playoff baseball, 6 o'clock.
We're in the land.
You've got to be tough in Cleveland.
They're up to one on the raise.
They looked excellent.
I believe it was Gavin Williams was filthy yesterday.
We'll see what the Guardians do today against the race.
Who would be the favorite?
The Brewers are the Guardians.
We looked at it.
It was almost to win the series of today.
Just if that's the World Series, who would be.
Oh, sorry, Brewers, not race.
I think the Brewers will be favored.
Yeah.
I don't think you can watch what they did of the dogs.
You beat the Dodgers.
You're going to be fair.
You're well rested.
You were already the team with the most wins on the regular season in the NL, I believe.
They were the top seed in that.
I think the Burrers are going to be fair.
Guardians were 85 and 77.
Wow.
And they were in that wild card race right next to the Blue Jays.
were going to catch them.
Yeah.
They were there.
And ended up, I believe, winning that division.
Yeah.
Getting a buy.
Sox got usurp.
They had to play in the wild card.
I, I,
Cleveland's second half of the year has been very tight.
And J. Ram's amazing.
I love Jose Ramirez.
So that's what's on the menu for DoorDash.
What are you doordash in tonight, Jack?
Hmm.
Can I recommend something, Jack?
Yeah, go nuts.
Thai food.
Travels real well.
Yep.
Absolutely delicious.
Lots of flavor.
My favorite is the Pad Thai or the Pad C-U.
Those are two outstanding Thai dishes.
I would highly recommend for you, Jim.
I'm going to guess Jack said neither.
You could tell me.
Jack is not going through.
DoorDash.
Not even a Pat Thai?
Oh, God.
Damn.
Order the Pat C-U tonight.
Let me know what you think.
I don't even know where I would find that.
Talk to Bobby.
It's Lord on the DoorDash app.
I'll get it sorted.
This is what they're here for.
We can expand your palate.
You don't need to buy a whole new set of kitchen gear.
You just DoorDash will do it for you.
Super chats.
Let's go.
For the youth centers of Calgary,
we raise funds to help at-risk youth in our city.
It is fun to see a charity
make noticeable difference in the lives of people where you live.
And that's what you send us in Calgary are all about.
We start with,
oh, Billy Barge,
699. Give me a good fellas
there, baby boom.
The in the boys
in the dome boys agree that Husk
is holding back the youngsters and change me best
at what point would you have to agree? Not this year.
That's where I'm at.
Those drunk idiots yell and scream
at the screen all the time. I don't know what they're talking.
And so like let's even like play
it down the while further. Let's say you somehow
arrived at the conclusion that you need to change your coach.
What's that going to do? You start winning games?
No. Are the kids going to
suddenly look better? They're already running
a bunch of kids on PowerPlay 1.
If I'm that frustrated,
if I'm the management team down at Saddle Room
Ries Play Place,
probably before I just shit can
Huska, I walk down the hall and say, hey, dude.
Tweek this, tweak that?
I'm not at that point anyway,
but if I was running the team,
that's probably my approach.
I don't know what I'm going to go out
and find that's going to be stirring the drink
so much more magically that the kids
are 100 points a year.
Like, what are we talking?
Yeah, like let's say you bring in Bruce Cassidy and it's like, wow, this is the best coach available.
Like, you're still going to see a team that isn't talented enough and rookies that are going to get put in stapled to the bench if they're making mistakes.
I'm sorry.
Is he stapling lots of guys to the bench?
Like, let's just, let's also show this out there that Gavin McKenna.
Yeah.
God is our staple to the bench.
We don't have Gavin McKenna.
No, that is a very valid point.
Even if a kid does, learn from it.
I'd like to hear specific examples of what people who hate Ryan Huska want to see right now
because Idaer's in the top six.
Matt Bay Gridden's getting a bunch of ice time and he's on the first power play unit.
PerX running the power play.
Perx running PP1, Nemitz is, I think he's leading the team in ice time or he's second.
You know, John the Kastan is playing a bunch.
Like there's a lot of young guys in pretty big roles right now.
I just don't really know what people want more from Huska in that situation.
I think what it is is people want stakes.
on stakes. They don't, they need a scapegoat and it's not going to be fun watching your team
allow touchdowns. But that's what happens when you're the worst team in the league and I think
they might be that. Take your eyes off of the coach and put your eyes in the net. Yeah.
It's, uh, it's tough sledding for everyone here. It's like I'll show you that hoagging down the door
in the miners. No one. We have to get them in. Yeah, like where's your like, are you dying to see
Quad A Alex Nealander up? Like what are we talking about here? Yeah, like Stromegren, he's
not going to make the NHL.
Cairns is probably not going to make the NHL.
I guess the one guy might be Brestevich.
You know,
that might be nice at some point this year.
Who are you parking in the rafters to get a man?
Might be Middleton and you move correct to the left
and you do that for a couple of games.
That is not,
that's a long-term solution.
Conray,
get Hunter down to the Wranglers.
This guy's terrible.
Yeah, that's asset management.
And again,
it's like,
do you see benefits of having Hunter Brestevich
with big minutes in big situations?
He will be a special players.
He'll be a plan to someone.
Yeah, at some point.
Like, I got no problem with him down there.
I think they've loved Zach Whitecloud,
and I think he is an exceptional human.
They talked about on the broadcast last night.
He's back in Vegas.
And it's like,
they knew they were getting a good player.
I don't think they realized how good the human was
because you could tell how beloved he was in Vegas,
fans, teammates, staff alike.
But like, the reasons you've liked them here
are the same reasons.
You're going to get a halt the deadline
if he's playing well.
Yeah.
I mean, with that contract,
you should probably be able to get a first round pick for that.
I would think it'd be close.
What is White Cloud, though, on an actual...
Four, five.
Yeah.
Plays on the penalty kill.
And so on a team like Dallas where they're...
Was he even in the lineup every night on Vegas when they won?
Yeah.
As what?
Probably third pair guy.
Five, six, yeah.
Okay.
You don't have to love him, but it's cheap and complies.
Yeah.
And teams aren't being like, oh, like, we need a top pair right shot guy.
We're going to be a white guy.
No, it's like we have a hole on the blue line and we're,
we think we're one piece away.
That's where you're going to get the good offer.
You,
you,
we saw like,
what's a good example?
Dallas,
look at Dallas.
They desperately need a right shot.
Yes.
And we set it for two years.
And then it's like you also saw the Maple Leafs two years ago
give up a first and a prospect for Brandon Carlo.
The biggest thing is a five,
that's a big.
Biggest stirring of the drink that this has,
where White Cloud has is the fact he doesn't have a no move.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
And he's making Pete.
Right.
Because those other guys,
the other defense where the Conroy had to get rid of had say where they were
Yeah, you had to steer it a bit.
Right.
So.
Stanley Cup champion, great human being,
good defensive player, right shot,
two years left on his contract,
barely makes any money.
Like,
you should be guaranteed a first round pick
in that scenario.
This isn't,
Billy Barch's super chat
isn't asking us what we think of white cloud.
No,
it's just a continuation of,
I don't think Husk is doing anything outlandish.
It's like, boy,
if they just had a different coach,
they'd be in a playoffs.
No.
And Becklin, if they put their, I don't even know who they are.
They're top six veterans.
And those guys were playing 25 minutes a night.
And you were like, where's the kids ice time?
It's not what's happening.
Yeah.
If you had Gridden in the minors and Sunniab didn't get the call and Perrek is getting
buried with no power play time.
Like, those would be valid, but that's just not happening.
Yeah.
They're letting the kids have opportunities.
They're just not ready yet.
That's why you're rebuilding.
If they were ready, you'd be contending.
Coronado is playing a massive role.
Nemitz is playing a massive role right now.
like even Yankew's Netsov is basically playing every night.
I know he's the healthy scratch the second night, but he's playing a bunch.
Yeah.
Young guys are getting an opportunity right now.
It's true.
They had the second round or third round or fourth rounder goal in Anaheim.
I think it was Pospasal, Coronado, and it was crown.
It doesn't matter.
But point being like, they're kids.
The guys you drafted in the system are here now.
Yeah.
There's more coming.
They're not ready yet.
This is why you're rebuilding.
This is why we know they're going to pick high this year.
Let's go to the next super chat, Jack.
God, we can build a.
barge got his money's right there.
Star.
279 star.
Crack and cauliflower is at
Ibu in Mardaloo.
Really?
Oh, that is.
I haven't been there yet.
It does look pretty cool.
Looks like a cool spot.
It's,
I've been,
I've set foot.
Yes.
Very lovely.
Good recommendation there.
Lots of good restaurants running all of a sudden.
Yeah.
Not the construction.
And parking.
Less of that.
Hellbent, pH, two bucks.
Cron for the drinky show a must.
Oh, yeah.
If you think we are organized enough to know what the hell's going on near the end of December.
Hellbent, you are new here.
You are very new.
But Cron is built for that show.
We haven't opened their policy with Cron.
Massive personality, hilarious guy.
Like, he had fit in perfect on that show.
It's a great idea.
I think he's had a drink before.
I think he's a great fit.
Yeah.
Next.
Mario Zabatha.
Five bucks.
If Jack's Penguinos beat my Lanchos tonight.
Lanchos.
I've heard of that.
I will super chat, super chat 20 bucks next week,
a hundred if the pens win and McKinnon fights again.
Oh, it's rolling it.
Hey, he's got lots of dough.
Kids are going to be happy no matter what happens.
He's got a real job.
I don't like my odds, but.
No, I like the kids' odds.
Well, no, it's only if Penguins are.
Okay.
Tell it the Lanchos.
I like that.
The Lanchos is cool.
I like that.
I'm like, what am I missing here?
Oh, okay, okay.
How many more we got, Jackie?
Two more.
Let's get to it.
Another for Mario.
Here's another five bucks you're having Comey on.
That time he came in and crushed beers for an hour.
It was one of the best barbner shows ever.
Also, Bleep Edmonton.
Who was the guy in Edmonton that was doing the downtown tour?
Oh, Sean Strickland.
So he's an MMA guy.
I'm not a U.S.
I'm not either, but I've been really enjoying.
Strickland was in Edmonton?
Yes, I believe they have a UFC thing.
And I think he sort of said before,
went up oh no, Abington's not bad. Everyone's something. And then he gets downtown and it's
a zombie man. He's like, this place is I dump waterway to it. I'm like, oh boy.
Edmonton tourism isn't going to be needing this guy. That guy's not afraid to speak his mind.
No, I would say that's fair. Last one. Dale 97, Lucky Pinder. Kami and Avery interviews. Nice. Outside
of Red, of course, those two are the best on the tube. So, Rhett, you're in his top three. It's you,
Sean Avery and Connie.
Well, it's a good company.
It's a good trio.
Never boring with those three.
I'll tell you that.
Avery's show is pretty funny.
Like, he is hilarious.
He comes unglued multiple times of show on topics I never thought he would care about.
It's impressive stuff.
I think week one, he leaned into the hockey parent rant, and I'm like, that got a lot of feedback.
Rates outfits every week and just roast guys for what they're wearing.
It's pretty funny because he's a fashion guy, right?
He was a GQ or something like that.
Yeah, I think he was an interminate vogue or something.
He's a unique.
individual to be sure. Is he pro or anti P.K. Suban wardrobe.
Anti. Definitely. It rips into him.
That is very funny.
Is anyone pro? Is anyone pro P.K. Suven?
No. P.K is for sure. Yes. Messia is definitely.
As you can clearly tell. The Movember and the Hawaiian shirt. I like it. That's a good look.
Yeah, P.K. Uh, he's out there trying stuff. I don't know that is working, but he sure is trying. It's not like, uh, he keeps pushing the boundary.
Yes, that's a good way to describe it.
He's doing PK things.
He's very PK.
10 bucks, thank you, Dale.
Is it?
All right.
It's a good day.
We survived Friday somehow.
Coming into today, I was like,
are we going to be able to even get five minutes
out of that Flames Golden Knights game last night?
And we crushed it.
We got like 30 minutes out of it.
We're not casual.
It's impressive.
It's like you guys know what you're doing.
We probably didn't even lean into you enough.
We could have probably thrown to you for all kinds of difference.
Tell us what that Power Play 2.
formation, Bob.
No, we're good.
We're fine, buddy.
Thanks for coming in.
Thanks for having me.
What do you got this weekend?
Give us a little tease for the Bobby Germany weekend.
What's up?
Ooh, that's a good question.
I mean, yeah, we got the stamps, be watching some stamps.
I'd recommend going to the stamps.
Go stamps.
Friday.
Need you.
Need you.
Need you.
It's going to see people in the stadium.
It's going to be the one where I'm flooring it.
So I'm going to take this weekend off, take it kind of easy.
And then we're going ham next weekend.
Uh-uh.
Bill, Bill, check.
No, nights off.
No, days off.
No, days.
Retro weekend looking good to get the parent party.
Oh, so excited.
Yeah, you look at that way.
Blowing sandwiches coming up.
Jack, you're going to watch football the entire weekend somehow come and exhausted on Monday.
Is that correct?
I might be doing something Saturday.
I think I'm going to go to the Dinos Hockey and then we sell over.
I don't know who the dinners are playing, but do that and then get over to the Stamps game.
It's a good for you.
You sports is sick hockey.
It is.
It's really good.
I would highly recommend.
If there's a level of hockey that gets slept done in this country,
it is absolutely university hockey.
Especially when you go to Mount Royal at Flames Community arenas,
like you're like three rows up from the action.
Like these guys were all like really good dub players.
Like the hockey's fantastic.
Go out there and support it.
Yeah, they guys come back from Europe.
They guys that play pro hockey.
Totally.
It's, uh,
it's an impressive brand of hockey that needs a little more love.
So thank you for that.
Um,
and Jack,
you're going to the dinoes.
I believe so.
And hey,
are you taking my stamp tickets?
You going with idiots?
Sure.
Yes.
Good.
I want a silent auction and I'm like,
Jack's idiot buddies.
You know, they're cleaning out your,
your barn.
They're not doing anything.
They've done nothing.
Just getting high,
wandering around.
Where is that?
I'm not telling you.
Yeah,
it's off the grid for a reason.
It's the whole point of it.
Another super chat.
Oh,
thank you.
All right.
Back to the super chats.
He's center.
Kaisers!
Bobby is the go-to guest host.
The thing is like DeForest is not a guest host.
Guest producer maybe?
When Jack's still hungover?
sucker punch of the dino's game.
The forest had come into his chair.
Not Bobby's chair.
I appreciate you.
He might have a real job, I don't know.
He does a real job. It's true.
Good for him.
Idiot. Yeah.
Thank you for being with us this week.
Thank you for the Super Chats. Thank you for supporting the sponsors.
Carolina on Sunday.
Stamps tomorrow playoff baseball tonight.
Should be a great weekend.
We always say it's the best time of year.
Enjoy it.
Happy birthday, Joel.
Happy birthday, Joel, Abondo?
Joel Armstrong.
It's old as dirt.
And if you know,
we should reach out.
Probably let them know.
See you, buddies.
