Hi, everybody. Welcome to the Trade Deadline Day edition of Barnburner here on Flames Nation. It's Boomer. It's Pinder. It's Warner.
Look at all your notes. We got a lot going on. We've got to keep it's, this is the nerve center of trade deadline day for Barnburner.
But I see you've managed to get the Hawaiian shirt. Because, of course, Friday is Hawaiian Shirt.
Still, it is. It is. Is and will always. Almost fits and was purchased at a second-hand shirt.
or at Lilac Fest last year.
Is that right?
20 bucks, I think.
Are those lilacs?
No, they're not.
They're like just slightly off kilter.
Are they puppies?
Hawaiian flowers and ferns.
Gotcha.
It's the flower they'll put on the luau.
Do you know, Rhett?
Rose.
Don't know about that.
Okay.
So trade deadline day is here and the flames have done all of their work.
So have they?
Thanks for checking in.
Have a great day.
Yeah, yeah.
Visit the sponsors, and we'll see you on Monday.
Bye, everybody.
See you, buddies.
Something like that.
Something like that.
Are they habiscus flowers?
Ibiscus.
Hi, abyscus flowers.
So the flame is played yesterday, plus it's trade deadline day, plus tomorrow is a game day.
One of the newcomers is on the ice or has just gotten off the ice.
Daniel Miramanov.
Right.
Number 62 in the program.
Number 62.
They got rid of an 82 and they picked up a 62.
It's progress.
It's progress.
Big progress.
So expect him to be,
they're going to want to get him in the lineup.
I have hypothetical pairs.
It's a very looking blue line.
I have a quote here if you like it.
Conroy has a bone on to get Miramanov in the lineup.
I'm not,
it's not accurate.
I could have got that wrong.
It's weird that.
Brendan Parker would say that.
He's so polite.
You have.
So these are your pairings or these are?
No, I just get like they have, I think they're extra as Gilbert right now because they want to see Hanley.
They just got him.
I think they want to get Miramanov in.
Five of those six guys can play the right side.
That is like the exact opposite of most NHL clubs.
Uighurs are righty that's played the left almost the whole time here.
Anderson is a right.
Pahal's a right.
Miramanoff's a right.
And Hanley's played left and right in Dallas.
There's a lot of flexibility here because you've got two guys that can play both sides.
I wonder what they do with the pairs.
There was some thought that, who the, who knows?
And what they've kind of been doing is separating their two really good ones,
like Weger and Anderson have played a lot together.
They're sort of letting other guys play with those guys to try to ease the load a little
rather than have a pair of two waiver claims or, you know,
guy with 29 games the last three years with guy who played 39 games this year.
we'll see what happens.
Well, you can mix it up how you want.
That's still the case.
The guys are games played.
Yeah, just rather than those guys out together,
give them a Uyger, give them an Anderson,
then put Uyghur and Anderson, then put Uyghur and Anderson.
Like, there's going to be a lot of minutes for those two
and Shillington, I believe, as well.
I didn't see last night's breakdown, but I imagine there was three a lot bigger than the others.
You should look at it.
It might surprise you.
Yeah, and you know what?
The game script might have helped that too, right?
Braden Pahal, what, 21 minutes?
21 minutes last night.
So he is there not dipping a toe.
Anyway, Flames win last night by a score of six to three.
Still winning.
We talked about it and you needed to get on the show last night and I wouldn't let you come on.
So what did you have to say?
Oh, I just wanted to apologize.
There's a bit of a mix up last night.
Oh, was there?
I wanted to wish you well on the show and that was it.
Just check it.
Say hi.
Right.
Friends.
You know, I get FOMO, so I just want to say hi.
Oh, I know you get FOMO.
Yeah.
That's what I figured it was.
It was not an apology or anything.
You just had to get in it.
A little bit of both.
I got cut off for it could get to the apology part.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I highly believe.
I highly doubt it was just to apologize.
I did feel bad.
Four points for Sherrigovich.
That's a, that's a, that's a, I, I knew you're going to talk about that.
I, I had a beer in hand at the community rink for two of the three periods.
I was, my breakdown would not be nearly as in depth as yours.
It might shock you how un-in-depth ours was.
We were in transit for half the game and setting up a studio for another half of the game.
But anyway, thus my apology.
Yeah.
video for one period.
Oh, good. Yeah. Yeah, we had the Flame game and
oiler Blue Jacket audio.
Excellent. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway,
it's. Weigdog, 27 minutes.
Anderson, 2639, fellas,
you're going to get your cardio in here.
And Paul had slightly more than Shillington,
if I remember correctly. And that kind of how that shook down.
Hey, get in the,
there and play.
Yeah.
Get in there and play.
If this is what you want,
uh,
this is what you're going to get.
There was not play.
Pardon me?
You're going to get mad at me.
You always get mad at me.
Just.
Jack wants you to turn your mic up or sit closer to your mic or not reclined back.
The reclining back or moving closer to your mouth.
Yeah.
He always gets mad.
He does.
It's not a mad thing.
His face is.
Well, I sit this way over there and I sit over here.
It's not my fault.
You move all this shit.
I know.
Mess in here.
And it's my.
fault. I mean, it is kind of his responsibility to be able to hear his mic and know if he's hot or soft.
It's okay.
H headphones off.
Is it a delay?
All right.
So just push.
Give number two a little love there.
No,
no.
Number two.
The old,
uh,
the volume.
The deuce.
Yeah,
there you go.
Give us a little bear.
Pushing two.
We just want to hear you.
People just want to hear you.
People just want to hear you.
Um,
so what are we,
what are we expecting today?
It can't be a lot.
From a flames perspective?
They make a minor deal last night.
We talked about it on after burner.
In comes the, again, with Dallas, who knows?
Was this part of maybe they talked enough about Tannaev over the recent few weeks?
Maybe these are some names that moved.
Emilio Pedersen of the Flames goes to Dallas.
He was a sixth rounder in 2018.
Riley Damiani is a fifth rounder in 2018.
He's also 23.
It's same guy, same draft, both looking for.
Change a sooner.
I guess new
fresh starts.
Well,
and the flames just don't have centers.
Like,
if it's a comparable player
and one's center and one's not,
that's a good deal.
But I don't know
that either of these guys
are destined for a lot of
of NHL hockey.
They could be.
I mean,
how do we feel about
Marty Parsps
a year ago this time?
Bing!
Is that our trade?
Turn the TV off.
Is that our trade?
Yeah.
That's our trade thing.
No.
Turn the TV off.
Have you got the remote?
Just turn it off.
Yeah.
The camera's having a seizure.
doesn't like the TV. It actually doesn't like
anything. Anything. Yeah.
Just turn it off. For everyone
that gives me a hard time for staying at home,
this shit never happens
when I'm at home. Well, and to be fair,
producers not here today. It was a bad. It wouldn't matter.
There would have been a lot of help.
I mean, it's, uh, it really, I don't
think would matter. Yeah, the camera is having a bit of a seizure.
That's, I think that's, they call that
focus breathing.
I think they call that focus breathing.
Um, you want me to go kick it?
Yes. No. What do you think of being? This is bugging you. Well, it's just, you know, it's here we are. I'm not sure. Just, uh, we have one camera that works in here. One computer, no computers that work. My working. I'm working. I just was too far from the mic. That's it. You're good now. It's great. That's great. And honestly, I mean, I don't know how many people are focused on the very edges of this. There's things to talk about. I,
already a bunch of trades today.
I don't think you're seeing what's happening on the screen.
It's very, very subtly, yes.
How's that?
Oh, shit.
Oh, I got to do that, eh?
No, you're out.
There's only one camera hooked up.
I can hook up here.
Can you?
Yeah, let's see what I can do.
Can't.
We talked about it last slide.
I guess we can get into it.
The Tampa Bay Lightning, they didn't look,
what would you say?
Not desperate.
You're going to have to shut that light off, Pender.
They are, they are not desperate to win.
they looked like a team that
was waiting for the GM
to make a trade to signal
whether they were supposed to go for it.
Yeah. And then they got word that
Hey, we're getting
we're getting somebody. Oh, who is it? Is it
Gensel? Who are we getting?
Oh, wow. Big guess.
It's Anthony Duclair. Okay. Well, that's
Who has had good news recently. It's not nothing.
Speedy. Some tools. Yeah.
So death. We've got depth now.
RJ is going to have just an absolute coronary when he goes to cut these clips later.
It's all right.
I mean, look at yours.
You are very out of focus.
What's going on with that?
I almost, I love this because I'm not doing anything wrong.
It makes me quite happy.
I think pender is, uh, you do get a better look at the Hawaiian shirt.
I think pender is audio only for the rest of the case.
anyway, yes,
do Claire went to the lightning.
Yeah, got it.
That's what we were saying.
That's what we were saying is, yes,
the Tampa Bay Lightning looked like they were waiting
for some kind of reinforcements to come in.
They looked tired.
They looked overmatched.
It did not look like a team that was
hanging on to a playoff spot and knew they had to win.
No, and I think if this was another portion of the season,
you'd understand if Tampa maybe looked a little past the flames,
but we were just talking about it yesterday.
they were four points up, two games in hand held by the Islanders.
That's now two back with two games in hand for the Islanders.
Like they are right in the thick of a chase here.
Nothing is guaranteed for these lightning.
They look like I think they're a team that's played so much hockey that they're done.
They look like a tired group.
They look like a group that has had those long playoff runs and it ain't going to happen again.
They do, but it also, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they got into a series.
and it's still Vasilevsky and it's still that power play and it's still
point in Kuturov and Stamkos and Hedman.
Well, we can have that bet in a month if they make it.
But no, I'm with you.
I could see them missing.
I could also see them getting in and being a nightmare.
But, I mean, it's almost the end of that window.
Doesn't it feel like that?
100%.
Is Headman's 33.
Stamcoast is a free agent?
Yeah.
We'll call this opening statements.
Because we are kind of talking about last night's game.
There's other things to talk about from last night's game as well.
opening statements for McLeod Law.
You can visit them online at McLeodlaw.
There you are.com.
Social media at McLeodlaw, LLP.
Shane King, partner in the litigation and dispute resolution groups,
specializing in areas like employee rights.
Being laid off or terminated can be hard.
Payne can review your situation.
Make sure you've been treated fairly.
And as the law requires, using a practical approach and plain language,
not legal jargon.
So it was a 6-3 win.
I like the, and I guess,
that's what you do.
The empty net with seven minutes left, seven and a half minutes left.
My eight-year-old was trying to figure out.
Dad, there's seven minutes left.
Why would they have an empty net?
Like, it's, please, there must have been a mistake here, right?
And even 10 years ago, you would have said the same thing.
There's a mistake here.
But that is the new school.
That is what the math tells you to do.
And look, you're down how many?
It's the last call.
And then they scored.
But, I mean, you're still so far out.
And that was even later and further down.
Sharon Govich, two goals, two assists.
God, he's been good.
Career goals, 25.
Now his career high.
A four point night is a career night.
He's a point away from career eye and points.
He's shooting it.
He's around it.
Is he relieving any of the stress that Pinder had over centerman?
Yes.
Like, honestly, if this guy could be a center, that changes a lot.
It does.
And we kind of talked about it last night.
I want to hear your thoughts on it.
No, it's just, they move them to, you move them to the middle and say, well, this is not a long-term thing.
Just get us through this, this tight spot.
Yeah.
And then he plays okay.
And then he gets a little bit better, but the points are gone.
And now the points are starting to come back.
It's not, can he be your number one center?
But if he can be a centerman and still provide the offense, you know he can give you,
then it, it kind of does change your whole top nine strategy potential.
It really does.
It doesn't mean they won't still try to add young centers, but if he was not a center and
It was like, man, this is a, this is sticking out like a sore thumb here.
That makes Craig Conroy's shopping list a lot more tricky this summer.
Centers are the hardest thing to add.
You know you got two good ones, but they're 33 and 35.
So if Sharon Govich at 25, 26, 27 wants to be a center,
not just a winger that can score that changes a ton for this group.
And I still don't think he's creating as much offense,
but he seems to be creating more of late.
And obviously we just watched a four point game.
But if he can be a 25 to 30 goal center,
then leave them there. That's way more valuable than a winger, right? That's,
that kind of feels like best case. Like he's just now gotten to 25. 25's a career high.
20 games left. I may, maybe. Like, again, I'm sort of saying best case scenario isn't the most
likely. But if that were the case, God, isn't that something that fell into Connie's lap? Not only
did you make a deal with Tofoli that people kind of pan the player, like what is he?
But he turned out to be a centerman that is, you know, with Hubertow has now come to life with him
more than any other center he's played with in Calgary, which is crazy.
And whether it's Kuzmenko or Hunt or, you know, last night, Peltier,
that line is starting to create some offense.
I guess I'm curious, too, though, when you start getting into games that matter
and you're going up against the other elite centers in the Western Conference,
how does he line up against a Kopitar?
You go down the line of centers in the West.
I don't know.
Maybe that's not where you put him.
Well, I mean, he would be their third best defensive center.
So you would have a lot of heavy lifting with Cadre and Backland because they're great 200 foot centermen.
You don't need him to be that.
But I would sort of put a comp to like Sean Monaghan.
Who would you rather have?
Like he's a much better skater.
They're both good shooters.
Neither of them are good in their own zone.
You load them up in the O zone.
You try to give him soft matchups at home.
Like he's not a number one center.
But if he could be the 2B or 3 center, that's a tiny bit of work.
Yeah, they don't have a number one center.
But if you've got three.
twos. Yeah, and that's kind of what it looks like. We've kind of been talking about Backlin
as a three center for four or five years. He keeps staying at that really good checking number two,
like almost a Selpke type center. Like he's going to get his 45 to 50 points as 15 goals with
the heaviest minutes of any center on the team in terms of who he's playing against. And it gives you
some reason to think that there's this is sustainable. This is not a guy's first year in the league.
He's been, he's scored now not to this clip, but he had a 24 goal year.
this is not crazy to think that this,
that you do have something potentially special here moving forward.
It's,
it's a tremendous fine if that's the case.
And then you mix in,
like we said,
with Zari,
pospousal,
they were kind of found money.
Yep.
What if the guys that you're really counting on,
like Coronado,
what if the,
Hansik,
what if the first round guys that you do expect,
and Zeri was a first rounder,
of course,
but then if they start to factor in a little bit,
and if he'll take in a lot better last night,
too.
I mean,
we all know he could shoot it,
but his relent.
relentless work to retrieve pucks and breakup plays in the ozone,
like really good F1 player,
that's starting to show up at the NHL level.
It's been at the A all year.
People raved about it,
but that was looking better last night.
Well,
one thing that you give Conroy credit,
you don't get to find out if those guys are good
if you fill all those holes before they're given a chance.
Well,
and I guess our point all summer was,
Matt Darrell wouldn't have,
didn't try these guys.
And he didn't think they were ready,
but how would he have known?
You watched him in camp for a week.
that was it. And he'd already made the team up in camp.
It was the Bs against the A's. Of course, they didn't look good.
And I said it last night, maybe he did us all a favor because he gave him another year to
You can see it both ways.
That's fine.
Yeah.
They are now contributing.
And if those other guys contribute, even better.
I would have a tough time believing at least one or two of these cats couldn't have got
you more than Lewis, Richie, Luch.
No.
But there is that thing where it's like, make them over ready, overwrite.
Somebody asked last night, one of the questions was,
Markstrom wasn't good last year
and they just fell short
and he's really good
how is it only the goal tender
that's making difference?
I'm like it's not.
You've got a bunch of kids that have come in
and made the team better.
We showed it on yesterday's show,
the roster from the Battle of Alberta series.
So that's less than two years ago.
It was basically what, May of 2022.
There's three forwards and two defense left.
Like there's been a massive turnover of this roster.
It doesn't look like the same team.
if you had a jersey with a name bar on the back in 22,
most likely that's now stuck in the back of the closet.
Like that guy's gone.
With that win,
they've now won 10 of 14.
And even with this stretch,
they've lost ground to Nashville,
who has just traded for Jason Zucker this morning.
So he will come in.
So the two teams in the wild card spots,
Nashville and Vegas.
And we know what Vegas has done
and we'll continue to do theoretically,
potentially here today.
But they are six back of,
Vegas. I mean, they're
they're well back
and have been playing well and the goalie's
been good and they've just
traded two of their top
4D. I just
I get it.
We're negative, we're half empty.
And
as Rhett said last night
and we'll just repeat it. It's
been a hell of a job by Huska and the coaches.
Somehow, some way, they've
avoided some
maybe malcontents in the room.
the inevitable stripping down of a lot of the veterans and UFAs on this roster.
They've just played hockey.
It's been, is a game day or off day, they just, they show up, they do their work.
There's been some stinkers in there.
But you can, you can count the stinkers on one hand.
The impressive performances have far outweighed the duds.
Six or seven is a hell of a run when you consider that TANV's been away for now, what, half those,
three of them at least.
And now you've gone one without Hannafin.
And look, I think Hanley is a much better player
than what they would have slid in prior to his arrival.
And we'll see what Miramano of is.
They might have papered this thing over really nicely,
at least for the, what, 20 games remaining.
When I said yesterday, I said, you know, how are they staying?
I'm like, well, the kids are going to play.
They're giving you everything they got.
They're going to give you everything they got because it's an opportunity.
The new guys coming in playing on D,
they're not thinking about the end of the year.
They're thinking about 20 games to impress
the contracts and make sure that they're part of the plan moving forward.
So all these guys that have been given an opportunity,
they're not affected by the trade deadlines so much.
I mean, they're affected if they've come in,
but they're not distracted by leaving.
And they're not distracted by, oh, we might not make the playoffs.
They're excited to play hockey.
That's it.
That's it.
This is their chance to prove their NHLers,
to prove,
maybe earn more money,
whatever it might be.
So it's,
who knows?
Miramatov is going to try to show,
he's hardly played for three years.
This guy should look like an uncaged animal.
Hanley is finally going to be given an opportunity
to have everyday minutes in the NHL.
This is a guy that's only had one or two year deals
mostly in the HL since he became a pro.
Like there's all kinds of motivation for these guys.
Yeah.
So we'll continue,
but that's the opening statements for McLeod,
law.
If whatever it is,
good or bad,
sometimes it's not always
bad where you need legal.
Maybe you're buying a house.
Maybe I guess do you need one
if you're getting married still?
You'd have some kind of go to the justice of the peace or something.
If you're getting unmarried,
you usually need one.
Yeah.
And sometimes that's a very enjoyable thing too.
Maybe that's the better part.
I'm not sure.
Peter Klein of a Cloud Law personal injury guy.
Did you know he's also the go-to guy in Calgary for your disability insurance claim?
If your long-term disability insurance company is refusing to pay insurance benefits to you,
just contact Peter.
They'll get you the benefits.
and the peace of mind that you need and deserve.
It's McLeod Law.
We can go through some of the trades that have taken place today
as we were getting ready to start the show.
Tyler To Foley goes from New Jersey to Winnipeg.
The Devils keep half of that salary.
It's nice of them.
And it's a second round pick and a third round pick.
Second next year.
Second 2025.
This year.
Third this year.
Yeah, and so the flames with one year left on his deal got a third plus Sharon Govich,
who we just talked about might be a legit top three center on an HL team's eclipse grew highs
with the third who turned into SUNYev was playing at UMass,
and they get a third in a second.
A little less value, I'd argue, but it's maybe in the eye of the beholder.
It is in the eye of the holder.
What do you do with that second rounder?
But now, Tafoli goes and joins Monaghan.
They were former teammates, remember?
Oh, yeah.
Former teammates on us.
Dejaveu all over again.
But Winnipeg making some moves.
We know Colorado has been doing just about everything.
They've been very active the last couple of days.
There's a look at some of the stuff.
Yeah, like you go through it.
From Daily Faceoff.com.
Yeah, Frank's got his show going all day today,
which we'd encourage you to jump over whenever this gets boring or we're done.
But this is in most recent.
Gets boring.
It's not yet.
No, God, no.
Pat Maroon to Boston.
the latest that he's sort of sliding into that Milan
Luchich slot that obviously has been
vacated. Conditional
sixth. That's, um, maybe
I'll buy you a ham sandwich in a decade, right?
The only thing good about this trade is that
Jack Edwards had beaked them.
Hopefully they have some sort of
called them fat, essentially.
You know, I really didn't hide it.
He wasn't like tactical or sneaky.
It wasn't a bit of a, like a sly dig.
It was very on the nose.
That's not Jack Edwards way.
No, it really isn't.
To be discreet.
So there you see that's a Foley deal.
He goes to Winnipeg.
Here's a Chad Rue.
Rueedle deal.
They're very upset in Pittsburgh.
Gensily last night.
Gennie Malkin came out.
He said, we apologize to the fans.
You pay money to come here and watch these games.
And we didn't hold up our end of the bargain.
And if you're Kyle Dubus, you're probably like,
geez, the GM didn't make a move to give confidence to the players.
Well, through 60 games, what are the players showing you?
They've shown you they're not good enough for the playoffs.
sadly with all those stars it is dubus can look in the mirror and think to adding eric carlson and go that was just an absolute way yeah but they didn't give up anything off their roster right doesn't matter it takes away you can't tell me that letang wasn't sitting in that room going yeah they were married to that old core with no prospects either way so he's like eh we'll give it a try but it didn't work and i don't know that it was probably
things prior to that where you
did you need Jeff Carter
you go and that was the old GM and it no
you didn't just over because it's not it didn't just
happen this you could see this was
years away yeah um
so there's there's the deal gensel is gone
he's a Carolina hurricane
the penguin's got a bunch of stuff there
four prospects three prospects two picks
and bunting
who can be a shit disturber and
placed around really good players can produce he
saw that in Toronto I don't know that without
them he does but uh
There was a lot of pieces for a team that has bare cup.
So I get that.
Conditional first,
which is basically going to be a second.
They have to win the cup.
It's kind of what they get.
So as these start to come in,
so to Foley gets you a second and a third.
You saw in there was a whole bunch of stuff,
but it's a second round.
Do we go back now and we wonder?
Because remember at the draft,
we were talking about first rounders,
and no one traded a first round pick last year.
Yeah, not at the draft.
10 had moved prior,
but once we got with the season,
it ended no one moved another and as you sit here conroy got a first for lint home yep and a first
in the hanifan hanifin deal yep and then what were the other first did in the walker deal was that a first
oh yeah and that was getting rid of ryan johansson's money was a big part of that it wasn't
that sean walker was worth more than say a christana that's not the case yeah because the first doesn't
go in in that trade with the oilers gave up a first to get a really good third line center and a banger
that looks pretty pricey.
I would have thought that different types of parts would have been,
like if Gensel doesn't get a first,
but Henrique and Carrick does,
I just,
that feels like the Oilers got fleeced a bit.
But maybe Bunting's a big piece of that
because Pittsburgh wants to still say,
hey, we got a roster player.
They're not dead yet.
Math doesn't like us,
but we're not eliminated.
I don't know.
The, the Oilers move,
we're in Calgary,
we don't give them a lot of love,
but it just seems,
we've said it all long.
I don't think that they're,
they continue to add depth that forward.
And it's like, I don't see it.
I'm not in love with the Oilers,
so I don't stare at their roster and envision it at night.
But they need D.
They need to stop scoring.
They finally got a top pair.
It's at Coleman Bouchard,
and that's a really, really, really nice pair.
One superb defender with an elite offensive defenseman,
nurses finally slot it properly on the second pair,
but you got Cody Cici next to him,
which should be a third pair player.
And they added Stetcher who we like, but he's a 6-7.
Like, are you, is he supplanting Kulak or Deharnay?
He's a made.
It's in, he's a third pair guy.
Yeah.
And so, and that's exactly what Kenny Holland said.
He was a 6-7.
And that's great.
But you don't have a top four.
And this is what I'm getting to is that if you had Cici pushed to the third pair and you
had a TANV come in, now that's a cup winning blue line.
Because you've got Beckholm and TANF in your top two pairs.
It doesn't it feel like if you had that first rounder,
a good defenseman was more than available?
Yeah. And if you did want to go forward, like Gensel versus Henrique, come on now.
It's like, what, six years younger and all the playoff experience?
I'm not six.
And I hear conflicting reports.
So the Oilers, they were going to trade that first rounder in a TANET deal.
With what?
And then, yeah, exactly.
And what kind of bad money and with what?
And then you get closer to it.
It's teams, teams talked a lot about we would do a first.
But when it came down to, okay, let's talk about this deal.
Let's TANF for a first.
What are we doing?
Well, I mean, how about a second or a, when it came down.
Take this bad money off our hands.
When it came down to it, the first rounders were, they evaporated in a hurry.

slash win. One day we haven't talked about Kuznetsov may have life again. Cleared waivers
has been just returned from the player assistance program. A dynamic, dynamic player when
Washington won the cup, what is it, six years ago now, because that was Vegas's first year.
They beat him in the final. The fountain parade that followed was.
a good one. I half retained money. One year left at 7.8. So essentially you're going to get him
at less than four next year. And he goes to a Carolina club for a third rounder. Carolina loves
fine and deals. What's the market inefficiency? Dude's coming out of player assistance that
have looked like shit this year. That may be in a market efficiency. It also might not work.
Well, I remember they did that with Tony DeAngelo. It looked like they were getting something.
And they did fine there. But then was he not put on like they were trying to give him away?
Well, they did it twice. The first time they rehabed him was great. They tried.
traded him for assets, but then they brought him back again and that didn't work, if I recall.
So what time is the deadline?
1 p.m.
Jesus, that's a long time from now.
You were talking flames.
Do you, obviously, if you gave Craig Conroy a list of things to get done when he took the job,
everything's done that you'd expect to be done now.
I think Shillington's a unique one-off that isn't a UFA like the other ones were because of the
extenuating circumstances surrounding his absence for 20 months.
months, but safe to say there's no heavy lifting for Craig Conroy left, but is there a deal out
there? Only if people are phoning them. And that's what I said last time. I said, yeah, he'll make a
deal if you call him and give him the right offer, but I don't think he's out there searching for
anything. So I look at their top nine and it's Zeri is skating in Calgary today. He's not back. I
heard, right? Should be back soon. You have a suspended Marty Pospisal. And that,
Those two things had to happen to get Matthew Coronado into the top nine and Jacob Pellche, regular minutes in the top nine.
Does it not feel like they could move a winger and open up space for a player and not feel like you're deleting?
Yes, it does.
I'm sure they could.
Absolutely.
And I'd be all for it.
A lot of these moves are going to start to, those holes are filling up, right?
Like how many more Florida are going to make?
Carolina are going to make teams that you might think are in the market.
for stuff. I think those guys, Winnipeg, are they going to be looking again with picking up Monaghan and now,
oh man, to folly? Yeah. I just starting to wonder how many. So the buyers, yeah, I hear you
buyers are left out there. Yeah, and you're right. You got to get a decent, let's say it's Manjapan.
And I only cherry picked that spot because you're going to deal with this next year,
this is UFA year next year. The money's too much. It wouldn't make sense. Eat half an hour in the
ballpark of how it could work for a contender. He'd be a great add to a third line on a contender,
in my opinion, someone that has a little bit of stink in his game, goes to high traffic areas,
can defend well, can finish. It's hot and cold, but you've seen it.
But look, if someone's offering you a fourth, like, well, no, I'll just wait till next year.
I can get more for them then in theory. But if you could get a second or a third plus a kid that
you've liked a few drafts ago that's sort of, you know, flailing away in someone else's
system or depth chart, that that's absolutely the type of move. If they're going to do anything,
I'd expect.
Yeah, I
that's it.
I don't see that happening.
I get the rationale behind it,
but it doesn't feel like,
I don't know.
I don't think there's a lot of teams looking to take on term.
I don't know that it's not,
he's not a cheap player.
You would have to be eating salary.
I don't think,
Conroy wants to go into next year
retaining a salary on Andrew Manjapani
necessarily.
I just think if anything it would be
because they have room,
they can eat some money,
they could be a bit of a landing spot for somebody today if they need room.
But there's sure a lot of deals that have been done, isn't there?
That's what I think.
Leif still will need a forward.
Tree knows them.
And again, I'm not saying,
buckle up, get ready.
It's a low probability event.
But if you had to say one guy not named Markstrom that could get moved, like, who's the highest?
Yeah, I don't think the flames pick a long shot.
I don't think they're trading anyone else.
Yeah.
If anything, I think they'll, they might bring somebody in that's at a,
a real bargain basement type of a price.
and if they can help somebody and add a pick or some way
in that way, shape, or form.
But I don't think,
you know, they've gone to the waiver wire here.
They don't need to Paul.
They've got Hanley.
They're bringing in Miramanoff.
He's, I guess, skating with Shillington this morning.
They're going to have Zeri back.
Pospal still has two more games to go.
They're healthy.
They got tons of guys here.
So would it make sense to move somebody out?
I get it.
But I don't know.
It feels like for someone to,
take Manjapani, they'd need to want him to, I don't think you'd get value for him right now.
That's fair.
I mean, again, it would have to be full retention, which is half, to make them less than
$3 million.
Otherwise, I agree with you.
But that was the premise.
Yeah.
And again, I'd love to see Coronado and Peltier and top nine rolls the rest of the year.
Show me how you do that with what they got right now.
It's hard because you're not putting, taking Zerriot, you're not taking Pospicil out.
Huberto's not coming out.
You'd like to see Kuzmenko in there as well.
and clearly Coleman and Medjapani with Backland is a legit third line.
Like that's why I would want to do it.
But if the price isn't right, you can't do it.
I think they're thinking about still making playoffs.
I do.
Boy, I don't know how.
You have to.
I know.
I looked this morning, I think they're 12% after that win last night.
All your trades are, yeah, I know, but what's your, if you're not moving
Markstrom, your objective has to be making play.
No, you could not be moving marks from because you think you can get more of the summer.
That could be a thing too.
Yeah, but if you're keeping a.
you're not going to drop like a rock.
You're not going to keep Marks from and put Vladar and Wolf in and start to tinker and play with the lineup to get guys.
Yeah, I agree.
You're going to house a lineup.
You're going to be in the mix most nights, especially with the message Conroy is going in at 2 o'clock this afternoon or whenever everything is.
We're here.
We're here to win.
So you better play your asses off because we think we can make the playoffs.
Yeah, it doesn't feel like, okay, Marky, we'll give you a week off.
We're going to play the kids now.
No, you're not going to go off.
Hey, let's throw Coronado up on the top of the playoffs.
flying or move this around and try that they're going to be playing.
The mandate will be work your ass off.
Let's see what happens.
Now, if you lose three in a row, that can change.
And it is Florida, Carolina, and then Colorado, Vegas when you get home.
But again, we would add Tampa to that group and said that's going to be trouble too.
Yeah.
Doing the strength of schedule, who did they shape up?
That's been a fool's area.
It really has.
They are a very good team against the top six teams in the league.
And they look miserable against the bottom five teams.
in the league. It's tough to really figure out. I mean, we can talk about anecdotal stuff and
between the years, but the teams you have more skill then, you've lost a lot to. The teams you
have less skill then, you've beat a lot. It's wild. So no deals today, Dean, you're calling it.
There's no, there's, we're hearing nothing about a Markstrom deal. That's way too big a deal for
there not to be somebody. It just feels like that. Yeah, Dregger yesterday was as bullish as I've heard,
but the more I think about it, I don't know. It feels.
feels like the ship's kind of sailed for now.
And if they lost four a six instead of one,
six to seven, I think that's a very,
very more relevant conversation, right?
New Jersey is just traded to Foley.
Yeah. They won last night and have now
traded to Foley. And for a second,
I mean, it's not like they got
a player. It's not like Winnipeg called them up and gave them
a first. And that's, that's, that's, that's,
that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's,
Fitzgerald saying I wouldn't say no. So it feels
comparable to a tannive.
a rental, a veteran, a guy that's won before
or that you trust to be a good playoff performer?
So I would guess if he's selling to Foley,
it doesn't mean he's out on Markstrom,
it just means he's out on Markstrom for this trip for the deadline.
Yeah, and Markstrom's a solution for the next two years
and this playoff run,
I don't know that they believe they have this year's playoff run
or they wouldn't have eaten money on that deal.
That's what I'm saying.
So you could address it now,
but it makes more sense to do it in the summer, potentially.
Flames wouldn't be interested in doing it now
unless they were blown away.
like you just you're too close and 12% doesn't mean they're not going to make it it means
one out of 10 times this situation arises yeah it could get it now is this year one of those 10
is it worth waiting till summer on marchion to find out sure why not it's good for ticket sales
it's probably aligned with the owners thinking and I think you know not having marksstrom
go through that roller coaster again might be okay well that's the thing I wonder if if maybe
it's gone quiet because either the flames have said we're not going to trade them if
Markstrom says, I'm not, I'm not waving.
I said I'd wave and that's where it got us.
So I'm not doing that again.
Maybe the owner has said, don't train them.
We've heard plenty of stuff in that regard.
It just feels like that's kind of gone.
Got another name for you.
Skating today at the Saddle Dome, A.J. Greer.
I wondered about him too, yes.
Because if he was healthy, this was a guy.
You're like, man, Connie picked him up on the waivers.
He might be able to flip them for a fifth or a six,
which is not something of huge value, but for a waiver to turn into a pick,
Nice work.
Well, Pat Maroon got traded.
Conditional sixth.
I'd rather have.
I'd rather have A.J.
Greer, Jesus.
Yeah.
And Ocposo got moved today as well.
So this is why I ask, if you were a team in the market for that big 12th or 13th forward or a physical 12th or 13th forward,
does A.J.
Greer skating on the ice today for a late, late pick makes sense to you.
Or if it's a sixth or a seventh, did you like him enough from what you saw that you'd want to sign them to a year or two here?
You'd want to know you could sign them.
sign them if you could. I say, hell yeah.
I say, I'm on the ladder. Keep them.
Keep them. If you can, because I don't think the six, whatever the pick might be.
Yeah. Now, if you want to make sure he doesn't walk, not that, oh, geez, we lost the six.
You'd have had those conversations. I would let, I would risk it. And you'd have the conversation.
I wonder if there would be, I would think from the flames. You are.
Be the center. He can serve a role or play a role.
Left shot guy on the wing, but I mean, I like him as a fourth line.
But didn't he play center some this year?
No, because they had Rosie there and, you know,
Dubay slotted on the middle.
They had at the beginning of the year,
Sharon Govich playing in the middle there.
Dewar would slot in sometimes.
Yeah, it was.
And then Rooney now, he's a winner.
Now that Rooney's back,
he's been quietly okay.
Totally.
But Greer, almost on a nightly basis,
did a little something that made you,
okay.
You got to eight goals real quick,
didn't he?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well done.
I'd be okay with an extension.
You know,
he's another example of what we talked about last night.
All the guys that Connie has taken a chance on or,
who is looking to take chance on character effort everyone talks right like there hasn't been
many guys that he's picked up where yeah he's good but we don't he doesn't work hard all of them
seem to be yeah he's really good in the room he works his ass so tools too and not not necessarily
in the the waiver claim department because that's not the type of guy you find there but he's made
bets on talent where the last GM like to make more bets on grittiness like I don't know that
Sharon Govich, Kuzmenko, Miramanov, are Trilliving type of guys.
Those are all bets on skill.
Oh, I think for sure.
There's, I don't, Kuzmenko specifically does not strike me as a Trillivin guy at all.
If that was one of the key pieces in a deal coming back, I, yeah, it, it just, he would have
taken something else than to take in five million of Kuzmanko there.
And if you had to try to create a blind spot for Triliving, it typically is more of that
power forward mold, then a lot of those didn't go well, whether it was Brower and Neil
less so or, you know, the England one was okay, but God, you spent a lot for that.
He just likes bigger bodies.
Yeah.
He just likes the style of roster.
Well, you look at what he's done on the blue line.
Like, he's bringing in some huge cross-checking machines for the third pair.
Now, Miramanov's 6-4, whatever he is.
So, I mean, that's a big body.
Right, but to your point, there's off.
It feels like there's something in there that's been maybe untapped, even with the
Damiani, A HL rookie of the year a couple of years ago,
then falls down the depth chart.
Does it make him a bad player?
No, it just means they've got strength in positions in Dallas that maybe push him
down the depth chart.
It'll be an interesting training camp, for sure.
Lots.
And the only forward coming off the books is the Roondog.
So if you, like A.J. Gruer and you bring him back,
he can be your vet on that fourth line.
And now Walker Dura and some other kids, you get to fight for the other two spots on
that line.
Got draft picks.
players.
I just think Connie,
Connie's not busy today,
but we'll be busy heading into the draft.
If he wants to be.
You don't want to use all those picks.
Find out when,
will we find out today?
Not 100%,
but if McCriman doesn't use the 2025,
yeah, it's theirs.
It's theirs and then if,
but then if it's top 10,
it could slide to 26.
It could slide to 26.
So it'll be closer, but not 100%.
Yeah, you will have a top 10 protected 2025.
So still, we won't know.
It's good point.
Yeah, it's.
McCriman definitely invented something we'd never seen before.
Give him credit.
There's, there's some smaller deals.
Nick Patan.
It's, these are small deals.
I don't know if people are going to give it.
Get a shit about this.
I'm just looking at the return on the, on the Zucker deal.
it's a sixth round pick in 2024 for Zucker with no salary retention.
Arizona hasn't done salary retention and I don't think they will.
I think that speaks to the financial situation.
So Nashville takes all 5.3 million,
but then only nets them a sixth rounder.
And they did the same thing with Stetcher.
Like they could eat in half that.
It's a million bucks that didn't.
Like Arizona,
I'm telling you,
law,
it's been very quiet.
We were supposed to have news around All-Star weekend.
That's over a month ago.
not a lot of news.
Yeah, well, and I don't know.
Where do you find the news about moving trucks coming in May?
Like the Winnipeg one, there was no Atlanta to Winnipeg.
There was no news.
It was dead silent.
A sixth round pick for Jason Zucker.
He's old, isn't he?
Yeah, this isn't the guy that they tried to trade for a leak for C5.
Oh, I know, but I mean.
What do you think he's done this year?
I don't, I don't know.
I just, it's a sixth round pick doesn't feel like,
it's a ham sandwich.
This feels like a whole lot for a guy that's been in the
he's been in the NHL every year
for a while now, right?
It's Maroon, and Ockposal, though, and you're not blown away
that they only brought back.
No, no, I just, I would take Zucker over Maroon.
I would, too, but I wonder if we looked
into his stats this year and last that we would be a lot.
For sure, for sure.
It's surprisingly low.
I would have said he could have got a fourth or a fifth, yeah.
Yeah, it feels low.
They were keeping Zucker out of the lineup for trade.
But if there's no.
He's making 5.3.
point three and they're not going to eat.
That's probably why it's almost free because you might be doing Arizona
payroll favor more than you want.
Yeah, you're probably right.
Who's going to eat all of that?
Everyone is having salary retained.
Everyone is.
Except Arizona.
How many of these deals have we seen where there's,
it's been not many.
That's a Foley one earlier today.
I don't know what the Akpozo one was.
Aqpozo, hey?
He's managed to.
It's hanging around.
He's hatched a hang.
Nine goals, 25 points and 51 games.
Half point per game player this year is Zucker.
Not bad.
Not what he was.
Greta.
Want to mention Greta.
Coming up, it is the ultimate Mario Day celebration.
Greta is, they got the tournament coming on the 10th, which is, it's like a couple
days away.
Sunday, baby?
It's like Sunday.
Why wouldn't you?
Dive into the day.
There's a thousand dollar grand prize.
cash for whoever wins in the single elimination showdown.
Maybe you're really good at it.
Maybe you're like a ringer or maybe you're just like going to Greta and yeah,

Why not?
It's going to be a fun day.
Perfect for gamers of all levels.
Head over to Greta.

They've got the, and your ticket includes a house beer, a Greta Burger, entry into the tournament, and a game card.
You are making out like a bandit.
That's a huge win.
And by the way, the 23rd will be back there.
That's the Canucks, a road game.
Our last watch party, I didn't know what to expect because the first was the season opener and
there's excitement and curiosity about the team, the new GM, New.
coach knew everyone all that.
Second one, we had the nugget eating.
I just remember pain.
That's all I remember about that night.
Didn't know what we were going to get.
It was a phenomenal environment with flames of oilers that came in Edmonton.
I expect more of the same.
Watch for that to pop up on nationgear.ca.
It's not there yet.
When it gets up there, we will let you know, make sure to get your tickets early
because that actually ended up being a rammed room.
Rammed room.
So tickets for our party, nationgear.ca,
tickets for the Mario party at gretta bar.com.
That's where you can get those.
Let's do the Pinder Report.
Yeah, baby.
Brought to you by Village Honda,
huge selection of pre-owned,
all makes, all models, all budgets.
There's over 90 units on site.
500 more available to you inside the dealership group.
It makes Honda Village Honda,
your one-stop automotive destination.
In Calgary, they are worth the trip.
Your dealership for life.
Village Honda presents the Pinder Report.
Full life.
Let's start with, well,
two very, very smart men breaking down.
Breaking down, all right.
Breaking down cartilage joints,
neurological tissue.
Also, the flames and the lightning last night,
a big win for Tampa Bay.
The guys that are going to fumble that thing,
hit it into the goalie's pads or shoot it wide
or miss the net or hit the post,
and he just put it right in the roof.
It continues to look good for Craig Conroy now
as Sharon Govich just had him.
Unbelievable.
And playing center,
and I don't think we should overlook that.
And if he could play this well at center,
that's huge.
You don't have to go find someone.
For him to play this well at center,
Take some pressure off, I guess is a better way to say it.
And it's another one of the, well, it doesn't mean you know,
you maybe go back to the wing next year or just keep playing center really well.
Maybe just keep playing.
Just be a 30 goal guy at center.
Yeah.
How do you get one of these guys?
Yeah, I don't know if he's a long-term center.
He can't play center.
Get him to the way.
But, uh, shoot, he's leave well enough alone.
Yeah, he has looked fine.
So a four-pointer for him tonight, uh, impressive stuff.
It's weird.
Certain things hit you certain times.
You like a guy more after a four-point game.
We all get that.
But it was last night.
I had the same thing in my head that you guys are talking about.
If this guy could be a center, boy, does that change things?
And look, the production isn't what it was.
You need a few more half nights of last night than the 0-0-0 with one-shot type performances.
But you can look back to the deadline.
They started in Boston.
Since then, he's got four goals in his last three games.
He's got five in his last four.
Is the guy settling in or is it a hot shooting streak?
We'll see.
Yeah, and either way, what it is,
it's a guy that you know in a pinch can play the position now.
Going into next year, if he's back in the wings,
then that's fine.
You've addressed your center needs or whatever,
but you know that he'll have some comfort
if you need to put him in the center.
And for example,
his first four games at center coming out of the All-Star break,
a combined five shots.
He has four last night alone.
Like, it looks like there's some comfortability there.
It also looks like he's found something with Huberto,
who remains a point per game type guy in the new year.
Certainly since Sharonovich has been there, that's not nothing.
Wild card standings looked like this fellas.
They can't make any ground up on stinking Nashville.
9-0-1 in their last 10.
Vegas is now in the second.
How we feel about Vegas win round one?
Vegas went around and that pick turns to a second.
Oh, yeah, you guys got to go to Colorado.
Oh, geez.
Get going, Vegas. Come on.
They lost again last night, too?
Mm-hmm.
Oh, boy.
Is there any concern about them?
Yeah, but the concern was before they went and added Manta and a half in which they
helped with the injury.
Yeah.
They missed William Carlson for a good chunk.
He's been back now for a little bit.
Eichael has been out and now he's back, but Stone is out.
And that's their most important.
So I don't, yeah.
And Aiden Hill was so good.
the first third of the season.
Leodore missed a bunch of time.
He came back.
Now Martinez is out.
So they've,
they've not been themselves for seemingly any amount of time.
And to your point,
they haven't been healthy.
So to say they're not going to do something at this point
would be premature,
but they certainly aren't at their best right now.
They're not missed the playoffs a couple years ago.
Two years ago.
Right?
Like it's,
I'm not saying they're going to.
They've got a slight cushion there,
but they do need to play better.
You watched Tampa Bay last night thinking that they were
going to show up and dominate and same like this i was just going to say like guess who's in town
next week i guess to play calgary that's suddenly an interesting game with a sudden if they're
that same lot of wine to wild care start dusty nickel in that mirama anna of up yeah let's go right
if you you can't win a friggin round unless you make the playoffs here fellas so let's get you in there
because you still want them to win around maybe that's why mccriman wouldn't give the 20 24
pick because they thought geez this could be a tough 20 pick right now yeah thank you
The schedule looks like this.
They're still ripping through the old southeast.
Back-to-back matinees tomorrow afternoon.
Cammy and Kent have you for Afterburner after the 2 o'clock start from Sunrise, Florida.
And then Raleigh, North Carolina, we'll see the Cains with two of their new additions, potentially Kuznetsov and certainly Gensel is there.
That's a 3 o'clock start, Cammy and Kent again on Afterburn.
News from the Dome today, we alluded to it.
But here it is.
It was, I believe, West Gilbertson down at the dome, noting,
good to see some guys getting back in the mix.
AJ Greer, a while ago since he was last on the ice.
That was an ugly injury you could see immediately.
Oh, boy.
He's gone for a bit.
Skating on the day of the deadline.
Interesting.
And Conner's area, who we were told was day to day and then was put on IR.
He's eligible to be activated Sunday evening,
which means after the road trip, if he's ready, he can be back in.
Those guys got to be mad.
at least take me to Florida.
We're going to Florida, right?
I think Pospisal. He would have gone, right?
Because I didn't find out. He was on the flight.
And then he got, I know I'm not going to play, but.
Possibly, I hope he's got just those incredibly obnoxious, huge, like, single lens,
rainbow glasses, like the old Oakley style that's coming back in and just on the beach.
Yeah.
Like, all right, fellas, big one tomorrow.
I'll be here.
I'll be here if you need me.
Get some sleep, fellas.
Go get them, boys.
I'm half in the bag right now, but you guys go get them.
Are you still having to skate?
What?
I'm suspended.
Am I allowed to be here right now?
I don't know if I'm breaking rules here.
I wouldn't feel right.
I'd hate to take attention from away from these guys who have been playing so well.
Speaking of which, let's go to the album.
We can get on those cameras.
Get on the bus, kid.
Shut up.
Frank had this trade yesterday.
This was, didn't see this one coming.
The biggest news ahead of the deadline, I think he had tweeted.
Something to do.
with, look at this, the Carolina Hurricanes,
fill up your hockey stick with beer.
There's a souvenir.
Remember the gravy boat in Detroit, the Zamboni?
This isn't quite as good, but this is a good second place.
Beer stick.
Get your favorite draft.
I was going to say, because then they gave the gravy boats out to everybody.
They aren't giving everybody beer sticks.
Now, you got to buy it.
You got to buy it. All right.
But either way, that's all right.
Yeah, all right.
Tonight, four non-flames games.
I believe. Let's take a look. Lighter slate. Wings at Yotes.
You get the wild in Colorado, Dallas and Anaheim, and the Jets. They were loading up to Foley to the Jets.
They're in Seattle where Jordan Eberley signed an extension today. He was thought to be on the block two years, 4.75.
And he remains a crack. They're not selling. They're retaining them. They're also not losing them for free.
Good work. Good job. Good job, everyone. Nice work.
boy, Jordan. Sure. Sure. Let's get to the dumb shit. It's Friday. So that means our pal on
Twitter has gotten back to his crazy AI t-shirts and such. Now, we add some tweaks for him.
I don't know. I think that's right on the right. Well, it's definitely, yeah, because there's someone
with a beard. That's going to be me. Yeah. The shades. And Rhett's been wearing that hoodie four days in a row.
so I think that's got to be him.
Yeah, yeah.
And you can see the details kill you.
Like it's the origin,
what he's right to see.
I'm wearing a toque.
That's Rett's hat that he's.
Yeah.
The barn's definitely on fire.
And so,
okay,
that's good.
And we saw some last week from our friend here.
This is,
he keeps getting better and better adding more details.
What else have we got here?
Yeah,
there's your pipe bomb.
Look at that.
The Flames Nation shirt.
I like it.
The details.
Looks like a young Tom Cruise.
This guy.
Pike bomb. Look at that. By the way, if there's any Flames news, we will have a pike bomb.
Yeah, we'll bring a pipe bomb. Now this is the alligator, the crocodile, excuse me, is always the Pinder Report character. We added the mullet last week. Now he's talking about the road construction and he says, what are we doing here, fellas?
Smartle loop there. That's going to be Beverly Hills. And on the street signs, it does say Flames Nation all. I mean, the details. And look at the beer he's holding. Can you see?
It's literally a barn burner block.
Now this one, this is our Canada Goose Jacket collector.
It's just goosh, Ryan.
It's just goosh.
It's wearing his shades.
Got the shades and the hats.
And Frank's jacket.
And what's, are those, does he have ink on his hands?
What's going on there?
I'm not sure.
That's really detailed.
These are so.
He's really good.
They get better.
Just like.
Okay.
Next one, what do we got, Jack?
Okay.
So this is Friday.
it's the Y and T-shirt and in the background what do you see
there's kangaroos everywhere and rats yeah a little ram rats you got the shirt yeah it's
very good keep going how the hell's he doing this yeah I don't know and he said this isn't
even the like subscribe pay a bunch of money AI this is the free you want like this is yeah
that's the friday one he said the shirt the mullet it's just sensational
because he was wearing the suit
That's right.
Yeah.
And we say,
well,
you know,
Friday,
you're going to lighten the mood,
no?
And there it is.
And we had one complaint.
What was the complaint last time?
Dean's calves need to look like he's smuggling coconuts.
That is much better.
Very,
you know what?
AI is amazing.
AI is amazing.
Very good.
I got to give credit to our guy on Twitter.
Like,
I don't,
he doesn't follow.
He doesn't chat.
He's just tagging us.
and I want to sell these.
We need to go into business with this guy.
Trying to figure out.
Yeah.
I want to give him the shout out.
It's David O'Brien.
So David, love your work.
Thank you, buddy.
This is kind of nothing, but that's just for you.
Oh, it just went off, but it looks like a Joey Votto signing.
Look at your screen.
There's nothing there.
But I did see Votto before it flashed off.
Joey Votto has agreed to a non-raster invite with the Blue Jays.
He is back.
Toronto product.
That's from Buster.
Olney who is a verified insider.
They have a first basement.
His name's Vlad.
They also have the body of
Daniel Vogelbach there.
And Justin Turner.
There's no way to read him, right?
No, I thought he would be.
Alberg is like, yes, people are excited.
Oh, he doesn't feel good thing.
Oh, I love that.
He's a kid.
I'm trying to assess whether he can make this team or not.
That's, I don't know where he plays.
But yeah, that's love Votto.
He's at the All-Star game in Toronto
with posing with all the mascots.
Do you remember that?
No.
Yeah,
you were sleeping in that Pender Park.
Okay.
All right,
so that was the AI T-shirts.
Thank you to our boy,
O'Brien.
Let's go.
No,
I didn't know dogs could do pranks
because dogs,
they're supposed to be loyal.
It's cats that'll mess with you.
They like a good,
a good yuck, though.
Yeah,
so here are the guys in the kitchen here
and the dog,
just plan a prank on him.
I see,
because the dog would have a chair on them.
If a cat could do that,
it would do that.
I don't think that would do that.
Now, have you ever been to a grocery store with cart escalators?
I've seen this, yeah, I've seen it.
I don't think so.
Because I think in Australia I saw them, it's a big thing in other countries.
It isn't here.
For whatever reason, they have these escalators.
And what they do is they lock the wheels in of the carts so that they can't roll away down the hill.
Great idea.
So some sort of magnet or something breaks them.
And then when they come off the escalator, where do you go?
When they work, they're sensation.
look out.
Yeah, that's going to.
Yeah, that's, my boy, no, she's.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
Yeah, no.
And that's, um, Helen is down.
Yeah, they're going to DoorDash next time.
I think.
Yeah, get it brought in for sure.
Do you ever see a landslide?
I saw a rock slide the other day.
Yeah, I sure did.
This one's a little different because this is a lot more.
Soily and less
oldering.
There's a road up there at the top.
That's not ideal.
What he said, yeah.
Oh.
More than you thought.
Yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
That road's not going to do much down there, is it?
Whoa.
He's got his little trailer there.
He's like, babe.
I guess we're just going to go keep camping.
Right.
Just turn around.
Nadine, your car guy.
Are you, do you believe in these like milestones or like, oh, shoot, look at this.
That's, uh, that's, I hit 10,000 clicks or I hit 300,000 clicks.
Like, do you ever try to like, oh, I saw it when it was, uh, no.
Okay.
A couple of our pals here.
Yeah.
They were jacked.
Look at the odometer.
Almost 100,000 clicks.
Wow.
Get ready for it.
Oh.
Come.
I thought, is that not you and rats?
No.
That's, uh,
Those looked like the kind of guys that would celebrate that, though.
I do have a story.
There was a very, very, like, there's the list of troubles that this guy had very long.
And this was in there, but not near the top.
He worked at the TV station in Brandon.
And he owned at the time, I think it was a Chavet.
And, you know, you get the sticker on your window, oil change.
Yeah.
You know, let's say it was 40,000 kilometers.
he hit 40,000 kilometers while he was driving.
Yeah.
Pulled over.
Parked the car walked home.
You got to get a towed.
I need an oil change.
I hit 40,000.
I can't believe I didn't time this better.
I can't risk.
Yeah.
Can't risk it.
Yeah.
Imagine the guy's gas light came on.
Yeah.
We're done.
Right in the middle of the highway.
All right.
It's stoplight.
I'm out of gas.
Trans Canada.
Just park.
I'm out.
I'm out.
That's a unique individual.
individual. Oh shit. Yeah. Yeah.
Now there's a lot of characters that have rolled through pro wrestling.
This was a throwback I saw. This is WWF at the time. So pre-W.E.
You could see the angle they were going for.
For hockey, he's here in the WWF. Let's take a look at the goon.
He's in hockey.
It's a long-look-like a Sunday school teacher.
Let's see what he can do here in the WWF.
I'll tell you what. I know.
The clubs come off and here we go.
Look at this. Look at him go.
Then Chesser in trouble now.
Set up for the ride.
Jester coming up.
Give me a break.
A minute.
Here comes the goon and, oh, give me a break.
Talk about a believable.
Cross check.
From behind, give me a break.
The goon in the square circle.
The official picks up the count and this one is history.
The goon chocks up a victory for himself.
and it's not exactly like winning a Stanley Cup.
None of the last.
Stanley Cup reference.
He shoots the scores.
Yeah, he's very good.
He shoots the scours.
I didn't remember the gun.
Did you remember?
Oh, of course, yeah.
Really?
So he had a run?
Not, well, just everybody had a gimmick.
Right.
You had a garbage man and a repo man and a dentist and a doctor.
Sure.
Hockey.
Yeah.
So he might have lasted a season, half a season?
I don't know.
if it was a PTO, I don't know if they signed them after the tryout was over.
That's fair.
Last one of the week.
So I thought we'd combine a lot of the staples of the Pender Report.
We have a rooftop, a trampoline, and an above ground pool.
Oh, my God.
I think she's laughing.
She's laughing?
Is this the shovel?
Oh, my God.
Oh, dear.
Did she manage to actually kind of almost go unscathed there?
Because it looks at her face, did she...
So she didn't really clip it there.
No.
No, she's spinning.
She's spinning.
That might have been as good as it could get.
She basically takes the impact.
So she kind of, she takes it on the back of the shins there potentially.
But some of the pool, they're having to drink.
They had their face.
They didn't even break stride.
People really overestimate the springiness of trampolines, it seems.
Guys are breaking their legs, hyper-extending their knees and their own personal ability.
Yeah, that too.
Yeah, there's a lot of enhanced confidence on these videos.
It seems like maybe six or seven origins before you climb on the roof isn't the best move.
Never mind climbing on at all.
Don't do it at all with probably.
Yeah, just keep the origins in the pool.
That's the move.
That's your PIN report for Friday, Dean.
That's what the PIN report's all about.
That maybe when you've had some origins or you've been into it a little bit,
you'll remember these videos that you see.
I'm not going to jump off of the garage onto a trampoline
and into my above ground pool.
Just go straight from the rooftop to the pool.
You can make it.
Just need her head start.
Just run and you can make it.
Just got to get the trampoline out of there.
Village Honda.
The 2024 Honda Cord was redesigned last year,
chosen by Car and Driver magazine.
It's the number one mid-sized sedan,
one of the most reliable vehicles on the road.
It's better than ever.
Superior ride quality, reliability,
and impressive fuel economy thanks to the EXL hybrid.
That and more at Village Honda.
Check them out online, VillageHonda.com.
I feel for people who came in here looking for it.
Let's get all these trades.
And then it's...
Well, now the Pinnaport's done.
You can bring all the trades that happened when it was on.
It's like, what is happening?
What are all these videos we're watching?
So to everybody that's new to the show, the cameras don't work.
The mics barely work.
Crocodiles.
And we, yeah.
Above ground pools.
Welcome to the show.
Welcome to the show.
Welcome to the show.
Any updates?
I was just looking at Igor Sharongo,
which is face off percentage.
There's certainly some room for improvement.
Oh, geez.
He's going to start beating up on Sheringow,
which is not a center.
I hope he's a center.
It'd be great.
Please be a center.
Let's go to the old daily faceoff board.
What's new?
Frank Bannum's checking it.
If anyone's in Saskatchez.
Is that right?
Frankie is in says he made it he's ready to go where does he where does he live
Cincinnati is he really did he play pro there sure yeah yeah Glenn cross played there
he said it was actually sneaky cool hockey market not that necessarily I think it is a sneaky
cool yeah Jamie Lyndon Trevor's brother and Dallas Eakins treff when I yeah Trevor uh started in
Florida they were there and they always talked about how great Cincinnati was
I hate the Bengals.
Got tired of packing and unpacking.
Oh, my God.
We got a former flame that got so off here.
Remember Turner Elson?
Former Red Deer Rebel.
Oh, Jay Feast said, look, we had to trade these picks,
but we thought these guys, they were on our draft boards.
This is like getting free draft picks.
We're going to sign Turner Elston.
That's what else.
It's kind of a shot.
No, he's still playing.
He's not a shot.
That's great.
Got offered an NHL contract.
It's going to sign it.
Why not?
Clem Koston, the real Clem Shady?
The oil oil are great.
Who signed in Detroit this summer.
He's off to San Jose because they want Radim Simmitt, the defenseman, I think.
He comes over.
That gives the wings a little more depth on the blue line.
That's another late one.
These are very minor names relative to the blockbusters this morning with Kuznetsov to Foley.
There's nothing out there that you're excited to see happen.
Is there?
Left?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. I mean, maybe someone would be.
really excited to get Riley Smith out of Pittsburgh.
Like the Gensel deal is a big deal.
Yeah.
Hanepin's a big one.
Foley in that next tier down.
Yeah.
But I don't know what it feels like.
Like where's our trade targets board?
Who's up there right now?
It feels like it's not a lot going on.
Douglas mattress.
Slept like a,
like a wee babe.
An un-hull.
Last night, yeah.
After all that, you know,
stress, moving around and getting
things like all that effort for nothing so we put together last night slept great yeah i'm very sorry

I love it.
Best available on Frank's trade board,
if you want,
just because you're sort of saying
there's nothing left waiting for one.
There's a few names it might excite you.
Max Patcher Ready, apparently, is being shopped.
He's on a low money deal.
He's had back-to-back,
catastrophic injuries, but that feels like a nice buy low opportunity for someone that wants a discount.
Jake Gensel, heavily discounted, deep discounted Jake Gensel.
Pavel Bushnevich is probably the most impactful player that could move.
It's still a very good player.
St. Louis is kind of eh on this year.
If they eat half the money, there's a little bit of term left there.
Jake Allen and net, Montreal still has three goalies.
They like Montembo and, what, Caden Primo's the other one.
Matt Dumba, if you need a right shot D,
although I don't know how much great hockey's left there,
a tough couple of years from him.
Jacob Chikrin, we'll see that's very much not a rental,
one year left.
And Frank Matrano is a really interesting name.
A guy that's at 29 goals right now
that actually attended
hours of time's development camp a decade ago.
And has bounced around.
And be good, but has shown the ability to score.
He's a shooter, man.
And physical player, lots of,
of hits, lots of shots. He'd be a, he's getting a huge opportunity in Anaheim because they're not good,
but he would slide in on a third line of a contender in theory. And a lot of people were connecting
to New York before they added, was it Wenberg from Seattle? That's probably the sexiest names left
there if we're assuming that the Marstom deal is not happening. So with that in mind,
for those people who were hoping for an extended show today, see ya. We might end early at this rate.
He just looked at his phone. You know what that means? I know.
Bannam's in town. He's got to go.
Got to go sail. Let's go.
Are you, you're meeting him in Saskatoon, not in Calgary.
You'll miss your flight if you're meeting him here, right? You know that?
I'm going to Saskatch.
Okay, good. That's, that's the order we need. Oh, what do we got there?
Did you happen? I was just having a sip. Sorry, guys, if I drew attention to, uh, sorry, uh,
oh, that's my, I grabbed some timies on the way to work today. Is that a winner? It's got confetti all over it.
Well, here's how it works. Roll up the rim to win is back.
Oh, wow, well, well done.
60th anniversary for Tim Hortons.
And to celebrate the big milestone, you can win some prizes,
maybe an all-electric Volkswagen ID for a sun-soaked Hilton getaway,
cash daily jackpot of $10,000.
You see that, March 31st, $10,000 daily jackpot.
You got to get the app because that's how it goes now.
You get the app.
If you're not on the app, I don't know what you're doing because you get,
once you got the app, you're getting points,
and then you can use the points to get your,
Whatever it is you want.
You can be coffee.
You're going to have your donuts, your muffins.
You want you.
I use it every day.
Fellas, what are we doing here?
I don't know what we're doing.
You want free coffees or not free coffees?
You can pick one of the other.
Because then what you do is once you got the app,
then you can go in and roll up the,
I've got seven waiting for me.
Do you want to do one now with us?
Sure.
What did you get?
Sorry, not your lucky cup.
That happens.
Does.
Did you get us one?
But I've earned an entry for the Daily.
aqued of $10,000.
That's not bad.
It'll still be a winner you're saying.
That's right.
That's right.
So what we've done, Tim Hortons, very happy to have you guys on board.
We are, uh, 60 years.
What do you?
Yeah.
So we are using your product.
What do you?
We're consumers.
Oh yeah.
We are Tim Hortons consumers.
You're a heavy user, Dean.
I'm a big time user of Tim Hortons.
You betcha.
And to celebrate the 60th anniversary and to celebrate
roll up.
the rim to win. We have a segment that we'll be rolling out once a week here as we roll it here on
Barnburner. And Arpa Basu will join us in the second admission to talk to us a little more about
for the Gallows. It's a bit off the stage and in. What a goal. And Montreal's even the game of
two. I don't know if they'll credit him with this, but it's at one time or shot. He's not afraid to
shoot. And then good Branson just looks to try to find something.
some daylight out of the middle under all kinds of pressure.
Now surround it, he's able to stick handle
through that traffic body.
Still stick out and drop.
For Hagey for Barkoff, off his stick,
Barkoff trying to settle it down in front,
and they score.
Sam Reinhardt, make it 43 on the season.
You're gonna see an amazing play right here,
goes off a stick, there he taps it once,
taps it twice, and then the third,
try he gets it over onto the stick and if and out of the corner choked off by
Cartier and hit the scoreboard I don't think I've ever seen the puck hit the
scoreboard here Johnny and there's you can see it clearly on the ice and here
comes the official to pick up the confetti it's all over to place Uber
though just caught one or ain't missing it oh that's the type of years out of
jakes kuketat with turkot kukot kukkah
are you kidding me with the glove
moving to his left and he keeps in a tie game.
So his job is to stay in front of the net,
but that quick spin around path you pointed out, Dave, by Uberdo.
Had a sense probably that, okay, let's just get it to the front of the net.
Sharon Govich gets in behind everybody.
Jeez.
That face.
Has not been struggling with a puck.
Actually gets a piece of it to make the puck bounce.
And that's the first part of the play.
There it is.
Before we go, we should mention the podcast that you do.
It's called the Barnburner and you're on it with Boomer and Pinder.
I guess you get that.
Do you listen to that back in Finland?
Actually, I do.
We talk about it.
We do.
We talked about it last time I was here.
Well, thanks for coming on.
Yeah.
No, I won't, but I like it though.
It's pretty good, yeah.
There you go.
That's little roll it for Tim Hordens as we celebrate.
Roll up the rim to win.
It is back and it is Tim's.
60th anniversary. Again, big prizes. The all-electric Volkswagen ID4, a sun-soaked Hilton
getaway cash, a daily jackpot of $10,000. Get the Tim's app if you don't already and start
playing today. Look on that 10K today. Yeah, I got a few more, I got a few more banked up there.
All right. Got a few more banked up in there. Um, so did meek, Mika's back at home, right? He's now,
I think he made it. Yeah. I think he'll ever wear that suit again.
It's like take that back to the funeral parlor.
It's like, I'm done with this.
You can, I don't need this anymore.
It's going to say, if you put on a suit in your Mika after that night,
it's got to be something very exciting or very sad.
Kids get married probably, right?
Kids wedding.
Or maybe you do it like a hot holiday and there you're wearing like khakis and stuff.
You never wear it again?
I'm going to try my best to never wear a suit.
They don't fit.
Yeah, you did all right on Saturday.
Did you find your jacket, by the way?
Yeah.
You got it.
It was hanging up.
It was hanging up.
Never look for it there.
Let's get into,
we're into the,
it's finally warm outside.
Maybe we're thinking about spring.
Are we finally thinking about spring?
Tourism,
Jasper,
we've been telling you,
every January we go up there
for the pond hockey,
and it is a little,
you know what,
it's a slice of heaven.
It really is.
For info on everything that's going on
every month,
they have different events,
different things happening,
Jasper.
Travel, but maybe a spring cabin.
Get away from the city, get out, rent yourself a cabin.
The properties open up very soon.
It's April 1st for the Pine Bungalows, Alpine Village in May,
shortly after the Patricia Lake bungalows,
the Sunwap the Falls Mountain Resort,
getting close to that as well.
But just reason to check things out when you're thinking,
family, what are we going to do?
We're tired of doing the same old thing, same old thing.
If you haven't, check out Jasper.
Not that far, beautiful drive and lots happening.
Jasper.com travel is the website.
somebody drives better than that one.
Pretty great. If the weather's,
unless the weather is, then don't drive it.
But they don't drive anywhere.
You don't want to be on any highway when it's really bad.
If you're going to leave your house, then it's a good one.
If you don't want to leave your house, it's not a good day to leave your house.
Don't leave your house.
I mean, you're being cheek. You don't know what you're doing.
But that road can be.
That's a beauty.
But it can be shitty is what I'm saying.
It's one road that people, which way did you go?
Because the one way can be, can be really,
if the weather's great, you don't need to work.
about that stuff. But yeah, if
spring, maybe, if the highways are no
good, chances are that road's not going to be very good either.
But it's spring. It's beautiful up there.
So much to do here yet
with nothing going on.
The big flames deal? You got to break that one?
Nope. Okay. You've been texting
with the GM and stuff. You guys dialed in.
Oh, you're Connie's buddy. What's he saying to you all week?
He doesn't answer me.
Really, eh? Do you try?
Did you reach out? Talk to me in person.
How was that?
Well, it's fine.
It's easier to just kind of avoid the text.
Oh, I didn't get it.
It's like, look at these here.
He's walking out to me right now.
Retro. Hey, buddy.
Oh, I got a big call.
This is, uh, it's Jim Rutherford.
I got to go.
Gosh, like it's Glenn Sather.
Sayther doesn't even do it.
Oh, sorry, I got to run.
You know, if you're missing a barn burner blonde out of the old, uh,
I did see last night.
That's, he had a sneezing fit.
I wanted to check in.
make sure he was okay.
What was it?
Was it a hiccup or a burp?
No, it was like a heart of something,
hit the back of the throat and it almost put me on the ground.
No good.
Nope.
Yeah, it was no good.
And I like that the first reaction was,
I better have a beer to fix this.
Yeah.
The best way to,
to rectify the situation right now is to have a barn burner blonde.
There it is.
The van,
White Hans.
Origin Brewing. Check out their new, they got the Origin Kitchen.
They're firing out grub out there. Next time you're back, if you come back,
we'll head out there and we'll get Sterling.
All right, just start bringing some food out here.
I was driving to Saskatoon. I just stopped in there for some grub.
Yeah, it could be dangerous.
The Origin Kitchen, we told you about, so you go to origin brewing.com.
They've got the merchandise. They've got, you can, if you want stuff delivered,
the beer, the goods, they do that once a week. It's five bucks within the city limits.
Details will be on the website there.
60 Spruce Park Drive in Strathmore.
But sometimes if you're having, if you're sipping, you're having a beverage,
geez, it got the growlies going.
I can bite to eat.
Now you don't need to go anywhere.
Right there in the Origin Kitchen.
They've got the food menu, maybe some nachos, buffalo chicken dip,
the Big Pig, the piglet platter, that and a whole lot more.
They are, they're stepping up their game.
And it's just what you expect from the Sterling family and from origin.
They're growing. The takeover continues.
The Origin Kitchen.
Open now at the tap room in Strathmore.
All around the topic.
Just heard from Mark yesterday.
Mandib, another monster order for BK.
So if you're looking for the blondes,
it's always going to be there.
Nice.
Well stocked.
Oh, boy.
Nice.
It's our boy.
It's our boy.
Good hands.

Yeah, that guy's dialed.
Yeah.

I don't know these days.
I guess it's so good you don't even know.
Yeah, sure.
Betway Betts
The Seattle
Somethings
They're home
They're taking on
The Winnipeg Jets
Now these two teams
Just played
And Seattle won
I feel like this is
Winnipeg
Don't want to lose to them again
They're gonna be all excited
They got Toff
Off coming in
Old team
Toff
Tom
Mon back together
Monia'd be so excited
Minas 125
It's not a big number
But it feels like a win
For the Jets
I don't think they're losing
Two in a row to Seattle
And they'll be jacked
Ah
The bottom
Dallas at Anaheim, and I'm not very good.
And Logan Stankovin has been great.
God, hasn't he?
He has come in and has looked right at home, beyond right at home.
His numbers have been unbelievable since coming in.
Anytime goal for Logan Stankovin, and he has a few of them, plus 220.
Love that number.
Love it.
Playing fantasy hockey gets Stankovin before he's gone.
He's been great.
There you go.
My bets of the day.
I'm also dancing a little bit with the Jets.
Seattle, as you noted, I'm going to take them winning by a goal and a half.
That is plus 185.
Fellas.
Need some info on Hella buck.
He's been a little ill.
Either way, both the goal has been very good this year for the Jets.
I think they're feeling great after that addition.
Speaking of feeling good, the abs are at home.
That means McKinnon goes off.
Minnesota has made a couple sales already today, not super major.
But, yeah, think her here, trade there.
And I think Colorado takes care of business at home,
because that's what they've been doing all year.
It's even money on the puck line for the abs.
There you go.
Get the Betway app, get it on your phone.
And as we mentioned, they're on that QR code that was on your screen.
We'll put it back up.
Up to a free bet, up to $200.
If it's your new account, scan the QR code,
and you can redeem your bonus, offer available only outside of Ontario.
The New Jersey Devils, they traded away Tyler to Foley,
now have dealt to acquire goaltender,
Jake Allen. There's your goalie from the Montreal Canadiens. The price is a conditional third
round pick. It can become a second based on games played for Allen seemingly as a devil. So
mixed messages a little bit from New Jersey. They are well out of a playoff spot so they sell
to Foley. Now they trade for a goalie. Or maybe you just need better goaltending. Your room
deserves better to not address it at all. Is to Foley up this year?
Yes. And Jake Allen's got one year left, which how does this affect the flames?
Not everything does. And it's not about that. But the show is they've got Alan for next year.
Does that cool any interest on Jacob Markstrom in June July or is that a tandem you love?
I don't know. I would suggest if Allen's good, they don't necessarily need to look at golden.
And they do have some young tools you guys like Schmead and Dawes.
Yeah, I just first blush would be, yeah, you would not be as desperate.
you've somewhat, you've addressed it.
Yeah.
Whether you've done it well remains to be seen.
And a much lower transaction cost clearly than what we would have seen in a Markstrom deal.
A third would not have got that done.
And Jake Allen is not Jacob Markstrom.
Of course.
So.
Indeed.
And the HABs who've been doing the three goalie thing all year have survived it.
They are now left with Montembo and Primo.
Pretty good work there.
by Kent Hughes.
Camme Matumbo?
No, Kent Hughes.
I know.
I'm teasing.
Yeah.
It's cranky today.
You don't listen.
It's like you don't listen to you.
You talk so much.
Pretty good work by Kent Hughes.
And I said,
Dekeme Matamba because it sounds like Montembo.
That's what you would say for sure if I brought up Kent Hughes.
He's done really good work.
Dekeme Mutamba.
He also didn't take Mishkov at 5 for Rhymebaker who's having a shitty year in Switzerland,
which looks like a huge swing and a miss.
But, you know, it's a mixed bag.
I like the trades he's made.
we'll do some we'll go inside the great clips inbox do we want to do that yeah sure do yeah

for Boomer, who is your favorite flames player this season so far?
For Pinder, what is your favorite type of cake to eat?
And for Rhett, would you ever be a cricket fan?
I would be happy to teach you the sport.
I'll start because the mind was on there.
My favorite flames player this season, it's Marty Paws.
Oh, yeah, you're in love.
Now, it's a dog fight with Igor, Sharon Govich.
How haven't you loved what he does?
but I mean maybe a little bit tap or tap down with the three game suspension you know what it is it's just a brief hiatus you'll be back in love the moment he's back love the way he plays love the hair flowing the divisor tint the whole thing but you just and we saw what the record is the team's record a rare win without him against Tampa last night I don't know how they managed that's true but yeah I would say Marty Pospisals has been my highlight for sure now are you guys going to say you're going to be disappointed
point in here. Anything to do with food and pender generally
and I'm just more of a savory than a sweet. Like I, but sure, if I
have to have a cake, I'd say angel food or ice cream cake.
Say it. Bunt cake. And rat cricket, Ian?
I think that I could be because I like baseball, not because of the
excitement of it, but just because I want to hang out and have a drink or a
snack and be entertained a little bit, I feel like cricket would
absolutely foot that bill.
Did we?
Because we had all those AI shirts.
Did we have the you and Marty shirt?
Me and POSP?
No, I don't think so.
So Jack,
that slipped through his fingers.
I've rescinded it to him.
But there's one of you,
just a smitten kitten dreaming of Marty.
So Jack will grab that.
Again, AI, it does just like real life.
The AI listens to the show.
They know what's up.
Just like real life.
Whatever it is.
Great clips.
This is from the chat.
If you're in the chat,
you want to get in there as well, by all means.
From Chad.
Would you take Ryan Johansen at $2 million
for the equivalent of future considerations?
Just in general,
just take him off waivers kind of thing.
You'd have to half retain it.
It'd be trade ahead of 1 p.m.
Right?
I'm going to, I'm going to say no to that.
He's got next year on his deal.
That's the challenge.
Then especially no.
And I think it's,
four million bucks and he's only only only cost 2.8 against a cap with him buried but
doesn't feel like there's a huge market for Ryan Johanssen or you wouldn't have had to
package him up with a first to get him out to the more.
What upside?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like he's a crafty centerman, but he's played his best hockey and I don't know that he's
the culture center for a young team.
Play the kids.
Play the kids.
Yeah.
And if Sharon Govich just can play.
Sharon Govich, you traded for, I would rather see, yeah.
That's not money I would want to be spending.
He is a center, but no.
Big D, hey, boom, did you ever get to putting butter on a pop tart?
I did not.
It's not butter.
I've never had a pop tart.
Yeah, we're doing a live thing on this.
Gross.
I just, I don't.
He's never had one?
Have you ever had one?
I've had one, but I don't.
You don't like them?
Are they gross?
I don't know.
It's never had a pop.
It's never appealed to me.
Why butter on a pot?
Why butter?
Yeah.
You put butter on everything.
But, yeah.
Now, it could be one of my weird things,
because there are weird things that happen with me.
Case of point, the meat loaf.
I'm used to a loaf being like a,
oh, that's a banana bread loaf or lemon,
poppy seed or something.
And then when it's me,
it's like,
I'm not sure.
So it's a little weird.
But the,
I don't know,
the sweet thing coming out of the,
I mean,
I could do some cinnamon raisin toast.
So maybe that's not it.
I've just never been,
uh,
all jacked up to have a pop tart.
I think it's a show.
We got to do it on the show.
Oh, yeah.
I'm not against doing it.
I'm a toaster in. That's fine.
It feels like summer content.
Well, then one of you can do the,
stab the toaster with the knife.
Right.
Not it.
Because what else do you do when you're done eating?
Yeah.
Once you're done making the poplar.
Get her in of it.
Uh, year.
I ask the fellas to grade Conroy's total body of work on trades this year.
I think some have been good.
Some have been so-so.
B plus from me, says Yuri.
I give him an A for the to Polly deal.
I give them an A minus for the Lindholm deal.
I think it's C plus on Tanev and Hannafin.
And I think it's probably a B to B minus for Zadora.
That seems to be the market for a third pair guy,
a third and a fifth.
So what the hell does that mean?
I mean, I think that's overall good.
It's a lot of, yeah.
Not sensational and not awful.
I would be similar with the B,
but it's impossible to tell with these things.
Yeah, I mean, the problem with grading trades within weeks is we don't know
what the young guys are.
Yeah.
Oh, we got a pick.
The picks.
Worked on this one.
And the next thing, you know, it's a David Pasternak with that
first. Oh, no, no, he won that one. Yeah, I don't think there's anybody saying this is a,
it's a Foley for this Sharon Govich, you watch, he's going to be a sneaky,
great ad for the flames. No one said that. Yeah, what we said is the deal is contingent on
this guy that we don't know a lot of them. Kind of underwhelmed a little bit. So let's,
let's hope that these other team deals that we've been underwhelmed with, uh, come through.
I don't know, there's, there's different things. We, we don't know what happened with all
the Markstrom stuff. We don't know whether, what other deals would have been on the table for
Lindholm or any of the others. I don't know. I don't know.
how you can't be happy with what he's done.
It seems adequate.
It doesn't seem overwhelming nor disappointing.
Yeah, he did what he set out to do, which is not lose anybody for nothing.
Yeah.
I think that the Shillington thing is going to work out fine if they get a deal done there.
So none of his doing, but yeah.
But it's, but he's one of the UFAs that you'll sign.
Yeah, I like, we have high confidence that that will end up being a very nice move for the flames.
Yeah.
And if he's close at all on sniffing out.
what he saw on
Sharon Govich. I'm getting it.
And it's a team effort. But if
these young D can play a little bit
still comes down to the draft picks to me.
Yeah. Well, and look, I mean, Mir Maddof's a lot
of tools. He's hardly played. Yeah.
We have no clue. This guy could be
gangbusters. It could be like, yeah, he's going to be in the K
pretty quick. We don't know. Big range
of outcomes there. So your deal.
You're very worried about the K.
I am? You've brought up the K with him numerous times.
Well, he's 26.
He's never proven that he's an NHL or so.
And you can make more than one in a quarter in Russia if you're a top four defensemen,
which will be easier to do there than here.
But he's been,
he's been,
last year he was 25,
the year before he was 24,
like the same has been true.
Yeah,
the guys that are agents in Europe are very well aware of this guy.
That's all I say.
Two year deals great.
Without that,
I was very concerned.
All I say is,
is there's two sides.
If he was going to make that money,
why would he,
he's not been making any money in the NHL to this point.
He just signed his richest.
NHL deal.
Yeah, he's trying to break through to make big money.
The bigger money is in the, in the, in the, in the NHL,
if you can establish himself as a top four, if you can't,
there's more money in Russia.
So he's giving himself two years to try to earn the big
NHL don't. If he doesn't,
this is a tough one here.
Gone wants to know, can I get an autograph from Redwall?
He's in town. No. Oh, geez, that's tough.
We got that shirt, by the way.
I'm a quick note.
Well, I'm leaving here shortly.
You know what gate are you at at the airport?
If you want to buy a ticket and get their security, you'll be waiting for them.
Yeah.
Don't meet me up here.
From a gentle maniac, what was the reason for the move to Edmonton out of the U.S., right?
I understand if you prefer not to answer the guy.
Yeah, the Edmondson of U.S. is what people are calling Buffalo.
I don't.
Oh.
Well, I played there.
And the shovelers from there.
So family.
It's two strikes right there.
Yeah, you feel, feel crappy now, right?
I did it for family.
I went for the weather.
And I'm sorry if that makes me a bad guy, but family's important to me.
I went for the weather.
Most of the sun down.
The weather and the taxes.
That's, yeah.
Yeah, those New York State taxes, eh?
All of them.
What is the, I mean, what is the, everybody, you know, harps on Buffalo.
But you know what?
This is pretty great.
What would the this be?
Your, your, your, your, your quality of life is good.
It's decently safe compared to some other cities.
Mm-hmm.
They do have two major league sports franchises.
They've got a minor league baseball team.
Rather inexpensive.
It is a milder winter as far as winters go.
It does get gray, but you don't have minus 40.
You get the six feet of snow instead once a year.
You'll get a couple dumps of big snow.
They're golfing now.
Mm-hmm.
Like it was 80 degrees two days ago.
So your winter season is very short.
So I don't know, 80 degrees.
I think that's good or bad.
It's like 22.
Oh, that's all right.
Pleasant.
Yeah.
I like that.
Yeah.
So there are.
And you're in the States.
You can get around everywhere.
Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Toronto, New York, Boston.
You want to drive somewhere?
Let's go.
Road trip.
Yeah.
You want to go see the Browns and the Bengals?
Now, in fairness, you could drive to Saskatoon today to do.
That's a hike.
Well, you've got your thing.
Well, I could, but that's...
How many of those cities you named are less than a six-hour drive from Buffalo?
Oh.
Yeah.
and there's way more like Montreal's five hours way
like that's
I'm here.
La Belle province.
Most people live there because of the cost of living and quality of life.
Yeah.
Can Jack,
I know he can hear us,
but can he talk back to us?
Well,
I'm just curious.
What's up, Jack?
Hello?
Yeah.
Yeah.
How are you?
Good.
Is Russell Wilson going to go to the Steelers?
Wall.
Ball?
Yes, he will.
but he will be the backup.
Two?
Can he pick it?
What about Justin Fields?
Every day it changes with you.
No, I don't think Fields is going to Pittsburgh.
I don't know what's going on with Fields.
Dean, you're a big bear's guy.
Do you think Wilson is going to be the backup in Pittsburgh?
No, I was just reading that this morning.
It's bullshit, but there are people saying, like,
if Wilson does come to Pittsburgh, then he's got to earn the starting job.
which is dumb, but.
I had to be fair,
I think of Baker Mayfield had to do at camp this year.
He won the job.
He became a starter.
How I think he will be.
He'll get a job.
He's going to play for cheap somewhere.
But yeah,
what they gave up for him was ridiculous.
Like they paid him,
what,
a quarter of a billion dollars,
essentially,
and then gave away firsts and firsts and seconds
and they heft up their cap.
And they're basically just saying,
we're just going to cut you
and have an $85 million dollar boat anchor
on our roster rather than use you.
That's how bad you've been.
That's how bad we want you gone.
The Steelers are sniffing around.
Well, this guy looks pretty good.
We thought Antonio Brown was a normal human
when he was in Pittsburgh, so they can do some things.
Yeah.
Maybe.
Can I show you the T-shirt, the Marty?
You're died.
Just let me get through this segment.
We're doing great clips.
It's part of great clips.
This does not look good.
Talking about autographs.
Warner charged my buddy $5 for an autograph in Warner's corner.
Jeez, that's for the kids.
So you'd bring the kids in and then charge them for soaking the outlets.
You've got to try to make that money back.
Recoup that.
Absolutely.
Ratt, that's not.
It's not great.
And he's back in here now.
He's really taking runs at you.
Ha, ha,
Tribisky to the bills, Warner.
Back up, who cares?
I don't give a shit work.
He's just trying,
you know what?
He's trying to be a bucket tipper.
He's trying to stir up shit.
If I have to watch Tabriski in a Bill's jersey actually play, we're in trouble.
If I have to stay, Trubrisky, I'm in trouble.
I want to give me some fits back in the day.
Back in the day, I think you got it now, though.
Like you've nailed it now.
Mitch Petriski.
Tabiski, Patiti.
Traspa, Chubay.
Yeah, that's how that goes.
It's the great clips inbox.
Great clips.
It's going to be great.
More than 4,400 salons.
You're going to find, you're going to find one throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Largest hair salon brand and the official hair salon of the.
the NHL. Great Clips. It's going to be great. Check out great clips.com and get that great
clips app on your phone. That's the kind of content we need. That was well done today.
And there was an and asking about your favorite player. There's only one t-shirt with boomer in a flame.
With you, Marty, anything's pospousal. So that's me at the bottom.
You're looking good, Dean. Holding my, I'm kind of, look young. It does look. It's a young
boomer. Some hearts amid the pospousal head shots. I'd buy it. Guilty.
he is charged, I guess.
What's not to like?
Nothing like new love,
Rhett.
What's not to like?
That's why he's been so happy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He just gets to watch the next two.
He's just hanging.
Come to Florida,
come to Carolina.
And then he'd be shot out of a cannon when they're at home.
First time in,
what,
Colorado than Vegas?
Vegas.
You'd have some big mirrored sunglasses.
That's what I'm saying.
Loud board shorts.
Oh, yeah.
Strutting around.
Good.
Colorado on Tuesday, Vegas on Thursday next week.
Get ready for the Marty party.
Oh, this one here.
Nails says, got a slick cut at great clips.
Asked for the pinder.
Lady looked really confused.
Basically, she looked at me like, yeah, we don't do that here.
And in fairness, you had to go, that's...
To be fair, there's not a lot of, you know,
it's usually like garden shears and a buddy,
because it's like industrial strength stuff, right?
not everyone's doing it.
It's coming back, but yeah.
Not everyone is doing it.
We're an hour out
from the trade deadline.
See, Jack is commenting from
the Flames Nation account, just slandering
Deshawn Watson. This
Steeler fandom runs so, as a divisional
quarterback, he's slandering.
With our account. I know.
Jack, settled out. It's all right. Jack's
a part of the team.
I mean, we have to hate Deshawn Watson.
In fairness,
He's hateable.
It's quite reprehensible human.
He's done things.
I think he could be a good quarterback still.
I'm crazy.
Frank Serra Valley updating the Jake Allen trade.
So Jake Allen goes to New Jersey, a conditional third, which can become a second based on games played.
Here is the condition.
If Allen plays 40 or more games between this season and next, the third becomes a second.
It's not very many.
So it'll, unless they go supplant.
him with a starter or he gets hurt it becomes a second what's his contract 3.85 I'm not sure I
see a pathway for the flames and devils to get a marshal deal done I thought of no I don't know
even if he retained two million they're now spending almost eight on goalies he feels like a lot
well and look Drager made an interesting point that I hadn't thought about yesterday which was
never mind the devil's going to get in a different goalie that's what we saw today but they are the
one shooter we knew was going to be in there are
other teams that will want goalies, but Jacob Markham could say, I want to go to L.A., that's it, that's all.
And the offer you might have looked at two, three, four weeks ago with Jersey, even today, before this,
might have been the best one you ever saw. Or maybe you got a great relationship with Markey and
he was being very honest and blunt in the media where maybe tactically he could have done otherwise.
And he's got a great relationship with Connie. He said, I'll let you work a deal here. We don't know.
Yeah, we, that's like, we don't know. Would love to. I'm not worried about it.
No?
If Markstrom's going to Jersey, bring that goalie back here.
He's not going to Jersey.
That's the point.
No, but if Jersey wants Markstrom,
they can still make the flames and take Allen.
They're going to have to have a goalie.
Yeah, if he disappoints or falls on his face, maybe, sure.
But otherwise, I think that's their solution for the next two years.
Buffalo Sabres are just dishing guys.
Eric Johnson.
E.J. is gone to the Philadelphia Flyers for a fourth round pick.
Okay. A little depth after moving Sean Walker for them.
Yeah.
They re-up Nick Seeler.
Are you happy? Because I saw Bowen Byram scored last night.
And the middle stat out, Byram in.
Pick him up.
I think if Byron could play, they're going to have one of the best decours in the league for the next 10 years.
If he's healthy and he gets back on that trajectory, he was, you know, draft what, tough five for that pedigree?
that's power Dahlene and Byram.
Goodness.
And they've got some decent other guys with that Samison guy.
It's a good start.
Good young core.
Sure is.
Yep, sure is.
Good time to mention while it's,
maybe things are so slow with the trades.
Maybe you nod off.
Oh, dear.
Maybe you start catching some zes.
Then the next thing, you know,
you start snoring,
spitting and drooling in your mouths,
hang off.
hanging open and people are throwing popcorn and paper clips into it.
You don't want that.
No, guys, you don't want it.
That's why we've been telling you about outdoor dental.
Outdoor.dental is the website.
They've got the Solea laser.
Of course, it's used for your dental work.
But it's also used to take care of your snoring.
Two treatments, 15 minutes each increases the tension in the soft palate, reduces your snoring,
non-surgical, pain-free.
and as you said, a lot of times you can get this in on your benefits.
Yes, if you've got dental coverage, a lot of this procedure is covered.
So there you go.
And if you don't know whether or not you snore, I'm guessing there's someone in your life
who will be able to tell you whether or not you snore.
You probably have an insider that while you're sleeping is on the job figuring out
whether you snore or not.
My guess is somebody's going to be able to tell you that.
So yeah, go and see Dr. Jay.
Go to online outdoor.dental or at the very least, find out more.
If you are somebody that does have an issue with snoring, it's affecting your sleep patterns,
the amount of sleep you get, the quality of sleep that you get.
This is a great way to quickly and effectively take care of that for you.
Think of the people around you that got to hear you roaring all the time.
They'd be so happy.
They would be so happy.
What a gift you could give.
Outdoor.dental is the website.
What do you want to do?
What's your food situation the rest of the day?
You can eat the airport.
Do you have a big meal planned in Tune Town?
There's a fish and chips joint I want to go to with the folks.
And then the boys are going to meet up for some pints later.
Maybe go watch a nephew's hockey game.
Oh, busy day.
Still lots of family out there.
Love it.
Oh, yeah.
Uncle Rhett.
He used to play in the NHL.
Is DUG?
Does he still buy dinner when the kids come to town?
Your money's no good here, Rhett.
I go, hey, this is, or do you treat the parents for all that they did for you as a young child?
He wants me to haul a bunch of chicken from Bondon to, you're flying.
Does he know that yet?
That'll probably determine who's buying dinner.
Yeah, I couldn't get that for you.
I'll buy dinner.
Or here's your damn chicken.
This is a pain in my house.
You're buying dinner.
I never thought about it.
Does that go through the scanners?
I know someone that would know.
our boy give him a call he'll know
chicken from would know how chicken
Oh that's yeah
Chicken travels
Travels travel chicken chicken travels
Yeah I don't know if
Culture either way
If they found out they're going to want a word with you
What are you doing with all this chicken
Bungy corded to your thighs
What is
What's happening here?
So would you like to pat down or do you want to walk through the scanning machine
I'll tell you what I'll do. Here's what we'll do.
Get on a plane. I'll give you Frank's jacket.
Yes. You'll be able to, I mean, ring your torso a number of times with some breasts and thighs.
Load her up.
Walk right through.
I wouldn't trust wearing Frank's jacket through security.
No.
My flags would go off or alarms.
What are you got in there?
The old trade deadline.
It's, you know, glad Connie got it done, but.
Oh, the blockbuster's just about to drop.
We're not even, you know,
dozens of minutes from a minute.
Imagine if they still have Tannivan Hanifin right now,
hour to go.
Oh my God, you'd be sweating bullets.
That's a great point.
I thought you meant on the roster.
And I'm like, whatever.
But if they hadn't moved yet,
this is where the real case of the fear is striking.
A little nervous Nelly over here.
Look at he thinks he's an insider now.
He's scared of people.
No, I'm just, I'm looking for anything.
You're playing Candy Crush, aren't you?
No, it's...
This is just a very quiet trade deadline day.
There's been lots, but it's been...
Lots is not...
All the guys that were on the boards, I think, have more or less been traded, haven't they?
It's not like the guys aren't getting done.
Bushnavich, Vitrano, Riley Smith, like, it's not stars.
And even Bouchnavish, he's got a year left.
It's not...
They could do it next to you.
And...
Same with Vatrano. He's not a rental.
Yeah. Tony DeAngelo, what's the story here?
Waivers cleared.
Tyler Tofoli asked about going to Winnipeg, quote,
The fans are very passionate.
I'm excited to go there.
Those are two statements. Are both of them true?
I'm not sure.
One for two, minimum.
What was,
was there a trade deadline
that you remember as a player
where somebody came in or if you're in the locker room,
you hear about a trade and you're like,
nice.
Nice.
Shit, this guy's ours.
Is it a,
I don't know if it was a trade deadline.
I think it was when we got Gilmore.
Whoa.
In Buffalo?
Yeah, in Buffalo.
From Chicago.
Gilmore and J.P.
Domon.
Was it?
Really?
Douggy was bloody legend.
Like, that's a nice out.
Well, and we saw Rhett run him into him in the street in Toronto.
Big hug.
Late in his career by that point.
The leaf years were done.
He was already in Montreal.
all and Chicago, right?
He was still an impactful player.
It was a major, a huge name.
Yeah.
You were there when the Yokin and stuff happens, right?
That was before you?
Before.
Or after you?
Yeah.
After.
Holy?
The first time I think it was there.
But once by trade and then once a-
It would have been the year you got shut down, I think,
because Keenan was coaching.
Because that would have been the biggest kind of flame splash.
It was a big one.
Right?
Because he was.
centerman they always wanted a centerman finally got him finally yiggies is the number one center
everyone yelled and it just didn't work it didn't work and then they're like okay well we admitted
we're wrong he's gone and then freaking darrell read him back in free agency like what is happening
did you what added and traded brandon pressed like three times in that whole circus yeah
honesty why he ever traded trustee but that's his guy kind of guy right yeah oh yeah gotta
have a good player to get a good player.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because I would guess, I'm just thinking of guys in Carolina,
you've been sitting and watching all these teams do stuff.
They've done nothing.
And then in, what, 12 hours, Jake Gensel,
Cousnetsoff.
Yeah, we'll see what because Netsov is, but Gensel's an absolute
game-breaking playoff stud.
The best winger Cid's ever played with.
Like, let's make that clear.
That's pretty cool.
Cunits?
Cunus is the four cups, but I mean, Gensel produced more.
Like very smart finisher.
Yeah.
Complmented Sid so well.
That's a hollow dressing room in Pittsburgh today.
You see the quotes from Sid yesterday?
I don't think I did.
Oh, I was like, Kay, did, uh, any message that did the GM sent this to him?
I don't know what to think.
You're like, oh.
Or yeah, you know what I think I saw that.
Long those lines.
I think that was after the Edmondson loss.
it was does the message change in here i don't know what the message is it's just
i thought i saw something this morning i gouges i you just keep right you just keep
trying to be the good captain he's very politically correct he's going to say the right
things but they have got to be sour and oh they've won they've got their cups i don't
think that matters i think that only kind of to a certain extent i guess it does but
we're going to miss the playoffs wow
don't want to go play a whole season just to not get anywhere.
And you've been on that, right?
Yeah.
You've won your cups, but you play hockey,
you play a sport.
You've been competitive your whole life.
You play those games to win, not just collect a paycheck.
I sent the video to Jack, so we'll see it.
But essentially he was asked him what message has been sent to the locker
and with the trade of Gensel.
I don't know what they do there because the guy with the least amount of term,
Sid, but he's the guy that you think,
if you could pick any of them to be career penguins, it's got to be him.
That's a really weird spot.
Like, Caldubis didn't walk into a great spot.
They missed last year.
They're going to probably miss this year.
They're old.
They had no prospectors.
I think why they took so many bodies back from Carolina.
They just need to fill a system that has been empty.
Jim Rutherford was trading their first rounder, like, what, eight out of ten years for ever?
They got three rings.
That's kind of the price to pay.
Like when Ken Holland left Detroit, they had that quarter century playoff streak.
Like, yeah, you make some decisions that are going to hurt you long term for short-term success.
And there have been plenty of teams.
The one that just kind of popped into my mind was when the Rangers had all those stars.
They had Burray and Lindross and Leach, just cast of Hall of Famers.
But to sit in that locker room, it's like, you're a Hall of Famer.
You're a Hall of Famer and you and me.
And we're this far out of the playoffs?
We have three rings.
out of the playoffs, not
bounced in round one, not upset.
We don't even make the playoffs.
That's a tough one.
Jack, it's like Jack Scott.
We got a singer.
The rest of this season,
I know you're trying to get into the playoffs
to win every game, but also
management sense.
I don't know. I mean,
it's probably a better question from them.
For them, right?
Did any of that
distraction from playing to what happened
tonight? I don't know. I don't know. Honestly. Is this compared to anything you've been through
before here? I wouldn't. No, I wouldn't say this. Yeah. Yeah, it's a new experience for sure.
You're still pretty confident this thing can be turned around quickly? I hope. I mean,
that would be great. Obviously, you know, tonight's not going to be the kind of game that's going to do that.
but yeah, I hope so.
They trade Gensel and then get pumped 6-0 by the caps.
They're 10 points out in their division
and they're 8 points out of a wild card.
And that's the mood.
And subtracted Gensel from their first 60 games
to their last 20, like, oohie.
I don't ever heard them that somber and despondent.
Yeah.
Well, and the thing of it is, because there was another one
that I saw after that Emmington game.
because he was asked, well, what's the message is?
I don't know what the matter.
I mean, the message.
He's asked those questions every single day.
And you can just see he's just, he's done.
He's done.
I don't know.
That season can't end soon enough for that guy.
And I'm kind of with you.
He feels like a career penguin.
But what does he signing up for?
He's got two years left on his deal.
And then like, would it be, this is where it gets interesting with the legacy piece
because you always would have bet your house he was going to be a career penguin.
You just, there's no pathway for them being good in the next couple years, is there?
Like, Tristan Jari's had a good year and they're this far out.
It's, yeah, it's hard to see it.
And another year for Malkin, another year older for Carlson, another year older for Lattang, no Gensel.
So you go back all those years, how do you avoid it?
What do you do?
Do you trade Malkin back when it was the trade Malkin talk?
I don't know if Malkin's the problem.
They just made some really bad bets in the bottom of the roster.
Paying Jeff Carter way too much money to you.
give way too much money to Granlin, who was the piece they moved in the Carlson deal,
which also made some sense there because Granlin was a horrible contract.
They gave away Michael Matheson in a deal that I didn't really understand.
They gave way John Marino, who was a nice player that they got for basically nothing.
He was an oilers pick that didn't sign as a college-free agent.
They made a lot of little mistakes that added up over a decade.
Have you had that experience at the deadline where guys leave and you're the one?
Soret, what the Will Smith?
What's the message here with 20, 21 games?
It would suck that one year in Buffalo, Razor and Chris Gratt and Stu Barnes, guys,
you know, we were a bubble team to make it.
Certainly not a whole bunch of Hall of Fame names there,
but it was a despondent room after all those guys left.
If you'd throw it in the towel, stinks.
And it's different with this group.
because it's not a veteran group
and bringing young guys in in Calgary
has been a part of the solution
but if you're a veteran heavy group
and they start dumping vets, oohie.
So who's left to be heard from today?
Teams are players.
Teams.
Toronto could still use a forward.
They've got 2D.
They've got Lubushkin and then...
So do they need a forward?
I mean, if you believe Bobby McMahon's something,
then no.
But I mean, they've already moved it back
to the fourth line.
And Domi and Bertusia played better.
I don't know.
I think months out, that was, one more forward would help them.
But I don't know, maybe not.
Florida, Boston, Toronto, the top three in the Atlantic.
Austin could use the center.
Boston still hasn't, I think they got Andrew Peek out of Columbus here today, but that ain't it.
And where are we out with Vancouver?
They were expected to be in on Gensel and maybe they'd move home again to get the assets to do something else.
it doesn't feel like there's anything out there right now that would constitute that deal, right?
If you're going to move, there has to be something.
So let's say you move Lindholm to Boston.
Okay, now Boston's got the center they want or wanted with those assets to you,
a slide of Bushnevich in and then you put better.
Because the talk was Gensel, but Gensel's gone.
Right.
So Bushnevitz would be.
They're just waiting.
Again, it's not the answer, but it's been days now.
They've been talking Phil Kessel will end up in Vancouver.
He's going to sign, but that's, again, that's forward 12 or 13.
just still in the east rangers carolina philly
philly sells a defenseman they bring one in today
good asset management there they signed sealer they trade sean walker nobody walks for nothing
they send a late pick for some depth on defense carolina ads they get uh they get gentsle and as
we mentioned kuznets off the other thing is too that for some of these teams you wonder like the rangers
or whatever. Who are we going to add that's going to, where do we find room for them in our
line up? Yeah. And yes, injuries happen, but so what are we paying for? They got Wenberg. I mean,
Heedl's the guy they're missing and it doesn't sound like he'll be back. That was a real scary
a couple incidents that looked like long-term stuff. And that, that was a big piece. Heel's been
really, really quietly under the radar behind a lot of those other players, a great range of the last few
years. So is Wenberg enough? It could have been, it could have been Vitranos.
there. He's been a ranger before. It wasn't.
Probably a little gung shy
after last year going after
Tarasanko and Kane. And again,
those are those were guys that you knew
weren't on the front nine. It was a bit of a gamble.
They knew it was a gamble. They tried to build
the old 2018 all-star team. It didn't work.
Wild cards belong
to Detroit and Tampa. Detroit, tinkering.
Tampa Bay brought in
what's Detroit done? Depth
defenseman. They brought in, yeah, the
Simick. Radim Simic.
The defenseman from San Jose.
Tampa Bay.
They grabbed Declare.
Declare last night.
Pretty cheap for Declare.
Islanders are two points out of a wild card.
They make the coaching change.
And good under Patrick Waught.
Two games in hand, two points out, by the way.
Yeah.
Like that's by points percentage, that's theirs.
You talk about Gunshy, you wonder about Lou.
He's headnote picks and dollars he hates doing it.
So I don't know what.
They've won five in a row.
Well, and they maybe feel like they've done.
Sir Elkin's going to give them a chance every night.
it's more of the, we knew how that team's going to have to win.
It's not like they're going to go out of sniper or something.
It's like everyone's got to pull the rope.
We'll got out work you.
We're veteran and we're going to play defense.
To the west, Dallas, tops in the central.
We know what they've done.
They get Tanev, Winnipeg's made their two ads in To Foley and Monaghan.
And Colorado's added a bunch.
Middlestad, second line center.
Byram goes out.
And then on the back end, they get Sean Walker, the pending UFA from Philly.
Vancouver keeping an eye, but they there again got their centerman.
Edmonton, they've spent their first round pick.
Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick, who fought last night.
You see that tilt?
Mm-hmm.
Heard it, and I would like to play.
And okay, sir, but don't die on us.
L.A. King's third in the Pacific.
That feels like the coaching change was the big thing they did.
Nashville, Vegas, in the wild cards.
blames Seattle, St. Louis.
Nashville added Zucker.
We'll see if they keep Barry or not.
Carrier is a free agent, the defenseman.
I wonder they don't try to extend him today.
What do you think, Red?
I'm really excited by his younger.
I can, yeah, I can see him.
He's trying to get a hell out of here.
I think I am too, actually.
Well, I know I'm hungry.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It is a bit of an extended show.
We went a few minutes late.
But I don't know that I have it in me to go to the deadline.
No, we don't need to because Frank's got a cover to, uh, maybe Jack can do us a favor.
He can throw a link into the chat for Frank and Tyler your Mchuk's daily faceoff deadline coverage.
It's, they're going all day.
They're going to start at nine.
They've done a great job.
That's what we're going to do.
We're going to go watch Frank.
We had them on this morning.
Yeah.
That's what we're going to do.
It'd be better off coming on at 1.30.
Austerly clears waivers.
He's gone to the Wranglers.
No surprise.
We talked to you about Miramanov.
So do you want to see what's on the menu tonight for DoorDash?
Yeah, I think so.
Just because I know Rhett said he was going to do the fish and chips place in Saskatoon.
Yeah, that's right.
That's good.
You're going to go there to eat you think or you door dash it.
No, you'll go.
Okay.
But you.
Yeah.
I door dashed for the kids last night.
Tell me more.
Because, well, I had to leave to go to afterburner application.
Occocation indeed.
So on my way out, I door dashed some foods because I couldn't stay at home and make them
dinner because I had to go out.
And so we door dashed.
Yeah, because mom had a thing and the kids were home alone.
Five o'clock game I had to kind of get out.
With restaurants, groceries, pharmacies, bakeries, flower shops, and more,

and put in promo code Nation 25.
It's a Friday.
What's on the menu for Dardash?
Well, I feel like afternoon baseball.
It's already started.
Yankees and J's as we continue spring training.
It's not about the score guys.
It's the crack of the bad.
It's the sunshine.
It is the $2 beers with the dolphins poking their noses out of the water.
Grafurt League plays the best.
Anyway, that's already underway tonight.
Two games I've honed in on Minnesota at Colorado.
We'll get a better look at Av's post loading up.
We'll see if Sean Walker's in the lineup, if Casey Middlestads,
ready to rock and the Winnipeg Jets are in Seattle.
I wonder if Tyler Tofolie will get there in time.
He's been added by the Jets while Seattle has re-up Jordan Eberley,
7 o'clock start for Colorado, and a 8 o'clock puck drop in Seattle.
That's what's on the menu for DoorDash.
And of course, you can do the old double dash.
Order from multiple restaurants or stores in the same delivery without additional delivery fees.
Everyone gets what they want and what they need.

We're back Monday.
Easy on the liver,

Hey.
So it's hard.
