Well, hey, welcome.
Hello.
Hello.
Oh, hello there.
Is that the side, bud?
Hello, Jerry.
Rabbit, rabbit.
Yeah, I guess it is, eh?
No.
I've been dusting on these the last three months.
Yeah, I've been slipping, slipping a little bit.
It's the first time we've been on air since.
Yeah, it's hard.
I mean, weekend on the third.
Third's not a weekend.
It's all right.
I'll accept it.
Thank you.
I've let my game slide.
More than us.
Three in a row.
Just letting you know.
I appreciate that.
Bet365 presents this program.

And then enjoy the huge range of markets
that will be at your disposal.
Quite a large range.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365.
And hey, hold.
Inside the YouTube portion of the program,
we've got the chat.
If you get in there and lay a little money down,
we'll take the money and get it to the youth centers of Calgary.
We'll get your comments shown.
on the show already won in.
We'll get to it in a little bit.
We got some things we've got to get to.
It was a very busy weekend, it sounds like.
Oh, goodness, as busy as they get.
Yes.
We got into the pre-show was a hot one.
Although, I mean, short,
doesn't mean we got you in and then we sat down and bang.
Right into it.
Kids hockey, the front and center of everybody.
City championships, Dean, tensions are high.
Yeah, stress.
Yeah.
Now your coach, your head coach is away.
in Orlando.
Bad timing.
Didn't know that cities were at this time here, I guess.
That's a big conference for the mothership, so he had to be there.
Luckily, though, he has a good staff.
You, the assistant coach, ready to step in and many capable and competent assistance.
Right.
But you're the guy.
Let's be honest.
You're the alpha.
Lots of guys.
We're all pulling the rope.
When it goes, well, he takes more responsibility.
Oh, man.
Anyway.
Yeah.
So how did it go?
Oh, the worst loss of the year.
Oh, no.
Heavy favorites.
upset after a buy.
Down to the B side. Kids crying on the bench in the second period down two goals with half a game left.
What are we doing?
Fellas.
What happened?
Breathe.
It's okay.
There's half a game, fellas.
And kids pick up on the adults in the room quite often.
Have you found that, Dean?
They really do.
They feed off that energy.
I'm going to have to find another coach to blame for that.
Gama's cucumber.
Come on.
Seathing.
Not seething.
just like, how are we here?
How did we get to this spot where we forgot how to pass?
And we're crying down two goals when we were averaging like eight a game.
What time was the game?
9.45 a.m.
Also, you're not wiped out from too much.
Maybe they didn't get that early.
Was there a curfew called?
Did you make curfew?
No, I made curfew on Friday because I didn't know Thursday.
Right.
What rank?
Krishka, Justice Joe.
Don't like it because the parents are behind the bench.
When they're looking at the bench, the parents are right behind you.
You want the parents on the other side.
Get out of.
After 40, we had to sit them down with backs to the wall and say, hey, hey, I's here.
We've had lots of great periods this season.
Many of those will win this game.
Let's go have one.
Have fun, boys.
Pass the puck.
And if you eff it up, we're banks skate.
And we did bank skate yesterday.
That's correct.
Full ice too.
Perfect timing.
So now it's win.
Now we need just eight wins in a row.
That's it.
That's not eight.
Is it seven?
Six or seven?
Is it eight?
It might be seven with the buy.
I did the math.
It's a lot.
It's heavy.
Yeah.
No, it'd be nine.
But it can be done.
And I'll say this, more satisfying.
That's Cinderella's loading.
That's what I told the fellas.
Loaded?
It's loading.
She's hot.
She's something.
Bit of a vixen.
Yeah.
Could a twist off.
Is she the one where you got to get there before midnight?
Yeah.
Pumpkin.
Yeah.
Oh, don't like that.
So she turns to Shrek at midnight.
So how did the, how did the head coach take it while in his absence?
One of the rare losses of the season.
He had his wife, like, FaceTiming the last.
two periods and he just was texted into the coach like i'm shocked i'm stunned what what just yeah the hell's
going on it's like a substitute teacher though you know dean eh like when that sub came in oh i know we're
like oh we're gonna roll this put my feet up and we enjoy this we had the sub in earlier for a six
nothing win but still it was like mm goal he's making this look good this is a six four game and we
should yeah i don't know we missed head coach for sure so when's the next one uh tomorrow
then Saturday, then Sunday, and on and on, if we keep winning.
If you lose, season's over.
Can I go to that game and not watch the flames?
It'd be more entertaining.
I feel like the parents would be into it.
The good news is because it's at 11.30 in the morning, potentially,
you'd be able to watch both.
Tomorrow?
Oh, sorry, I was talking about Saturday.
Yeah.
No, it's well of time for both.
Okay.
You're scrambled.
Hey, look it.
Well, I thought you asked what I talked about Saturday.
Okay.
Well, I did.
And you.
I'm a week up here.
What do you mean and you?
Well, hang on.
Hang on.
I got another layer before.
Yeah, we're not done with it.
So meanwhile, while all this is going on in the chaos of cities,
now schedule is continually readjusting.
I'm in the annual divorce court tournament,
which is doubles club championship with my wife.
And so it's like win or lose,
tennis here, tennis there.
I play tennis twice a year.
It's these tournaments.
And then I get scowls for double faulting.
What do you expect?
I serve the ball of three months.
So yeah, I know there's three tennis games mixed in on the weekend as well.
Well, why don't you put more effort into it?
Like you got drunk on Thursday.
You could have been, you got a private club to your hoop-dy-do club over there.
I think on Thursday I did hit the ball with my young man, but that's more babysitting than
hitting serves.
Someone else that really likes something, he's not, he's not giving back.
She'll be putting in three hours on the courts today.
That's her.
So you didn't win the divorce court?
we lost in the D quarterfinals
which basically is thanks for coming out
you might have won one of your four matches
one of five great
or in your case the no D
that's right
when you lose that final
yeah
well I'm sad to hear that
insane weekend yeah
with an after burner in the middle
yeah because I really needed to sit down
and watch the Panthers
oh yeah
I'm a hard day school the flames
with the disco Dan Vladar
spinning like a top in net the entire night
But you opted out of the Thursday for that one, right?
Because how that worked.
No, because Thursday I had the meeting of the mines.
Right.
So looking back, you can call it whatever you want.
Oh, I had to do it.
Just, yeah.
Then a Wranglers game in there.
Friday night, Wranglers?
Saturday night.
Oh, my kid went Friday night.
Old Devin Cooley got the hook.
I thought this guy was.
Got to get Roy Karran's backup, but since the injury's not been as good.
It's not going to any good, eh?
It's a pretty direct line between 930 to.
injury and then not 930.
Well, good luck, Dev.
Get better, eh?
It'll be fine, eh?
Yeah, get better.
Don't need you, but get better.
Oh, you might.
You have a big trade week.
This is it.
Oh, he's just the week, eh?
This is the week.
Yeah.
We'll talk a lot about it.
Yeah, we've got to get to Rett's tournament first, though.
Yeah, we'll talk a lot about it this week.
I'm very excited to analyze.
Yeah, the trade.
Because it seems.
Lots of rumors today, I tell you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Three big trades in the weekend.
Those people are like, could they talk about it?
No, they're just going to talk about their kids' sports?
What would you rather talk about?
We need to catch up first.
So you have two young lads, three of them, but two in, uh, I had three in town this week.
A couple games out of that hoopty duty.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nice.
Was that set up?
That's not bad, you know.
Tuned them in game one.
Yeah.
Good.
Tune to men's the word, but right.
Smarting them up.
Saturday.
Yeah.
Big win on Friday though.
Yeah, that Friday game was so good.
Friday.
Yeah.
They quit on Friday.
Yeah.
And then we also had the buy with the middle child, lost that one,
but came back yesterday and put together a win.
In the must win.
Yeah.
So, and the youngest, they rolled.
Really, real good.
Came one.
Real good.
Moving the puck.
For check, a back check, pay check.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah.
That's what they said.
Zipping it around, having fun.
I had about seven hockey games.
I was down to medicine hat and back.
Really?
Oh, what a weekend?
Parents in town annoying me.
Shish, please.
Shish.
Yeah.
So are you behind a bench of any of these teams?
Me?
You.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I have not a lot.
Well, I felt like I was a coach on Saturday.
I let my kid know.
Yeah, which leagues are you not banned in?
Just which kid, one, two or three.
I raised my voice a few times.
Oh.
Well, you got to let the boys know.
Yeah.
Trev, too many.
Expectations.
Got to let them.
Too many.
Trev.
Too many.
So you.
I help coach the younger, too.
That's what you're.
You help coach both of them.
I see.
Yeah.
And the bench I was on lost and the bench I didn't make it to once.
So I don't know if that says anything.
Seems.
You and I had a tough weekend for our win-loss records.
Just makes you tougher.
How's it?
You guys done?
Are you still playing?
What's up?
I don't know.
It's a little different.
I think it's playoffs, but they don't really call.
call it that. Why?
I don't know.
Different.
Okay.
Because not how other people do and we're not going to.
We're not hockey.
Hockey calls the playoffs.
We're calling it a jamboree.
It is playoffs.
But no, they won both.
They've had a very good year.
We get to go to Medicine Hat as well now for provincials.
Apparently a great sausage.
Come on a sausage shop.
Regis.
Has it still.
World's largest TP still?
there world's largest teepee oh you know what those kids that live down there they can't get enough
of it they're always popping into the tee is that right oh it's like the poop sticks out by yeah
that's right yeah yeah like those hanging out there grab a sixer Friday night just going like is
hang out by the blue it's yeah yeah it's like the big the big blue ring yeah part of our culture
let's go to the blue ring and then we'll check out that bridge and then we'll go to the poop
sticks it's the bridge is actually kind of nice
others are complete swing and misses.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The bridge is offended to be lumped into that.
People get their wedding photos of the bridge.
You kind of lump the bridge.
The bridge might be all right.
It's just the cost of the bridge seems.
Yeah.
It better be nice for that price tag.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well,
Flames.
Let's go to some positivity.
McLeod law, our opening statements.
Oh, boy.
Um, sorry, McLeodlaw.
I wish, uh, short and to the point.
Yeah, short and to the point.
We apologized on Friday.
Yeah, or one of the days last week, it was we apologized.
Actually, it was after the Washington game.
Yeah.
So we had apologies for the flames feel like maybe a turnabout.
Can we take back to us?
Or they owe us.
Yeah, one of the two.
Maybe they owe us.
But cloud law, Calgary based, Calgary born, Calgary bread,
Calgary roots run deep.
It is why we love them.
It's when you need legal assistance, big or small.
You don't get shipped out to Toronto or to New York or just, it's Calgary.
and they are proud of that.
They know the people in the city.
They work amongst the people in the city.
They are the people in our city.
And because of that,
genuinely care about what happens here in Calgary.
We like that a lot.
McLeod-dashlaw.com,
whatever your legal needs may be.
Last night, I guess afternoon,
all these dumb start times.
Yeah, it depends on what part of the country here, indeed.
Flames, Scortigal.
Yeah, that was a big.
big thing.
I know the
was it was the third period
the score? Yeah, the ninth.
That meant they were probably at
160 to 170 minutes of the
goal at that point.
Yeah.
But they got it.
They did score a goal.
Which forced overtime,
got them to
extra time. Find away flames.
One shot away from a victory.
They did not get that shot.
They had one shot in the first. They shouldn't
waste it.
That's right.
Yeah.
It's weird.
It's not weird.
It's coming to roost.
When you play good teams, you struggle.
Your offense is just.
Well, and I'll say this.
Those are three of the best teams in the league.
They just played.
Washington, it's a great story.
I still don't know anyone's going to be picking them in their brackets.
Very good team.
But when you look at Tampa, Florida, Carolina,
these are teams that for the better part of a decade have been contenders.
They know how to play.
There's a core.
There's an identity.
they keep the puck, you don't get it.
And the work ethic for the flames varied in those games.
I loved their effort yesterday,
but they are so challenged offensively.
It's when you say hard to watch,
here's what I, and I don't mean, I guess from a fan's perspective,
I almost, I feel for everybody.
Yes.
They know they're not very good.
They know that offensively.
Yeah.
The coach knows that.
The assistant coaches, they all know that.
And I feel like that game yesterday,
it's whatever it is now
the fourth on this trip it's a tough opponent
yesterday was an afternoon that we travel
another afternoon it's time zone the whole thing
yeah they were I thought
they worked their balls on
this is the problem if your kids
had that effort we would have won by a mile
you'd have been happy with us you guys showing
up and giving you're all like you think
about that four minute penalty killed
the end yes that gets them a point
like guys are laying out balls taking a shot off as
like these guys are playing their asses off.
And when we talk about the team not being that good,
I think sometimes that can be misinterpreted
as people, us taking shots of this group.
This group has so overachieved from where we all thought they would be
when we sat in this room and talked in September,
they deserve a massive tip of the cap
for their work ethic and their ability to have as many points
as they do with the roster that they have.
But that doesn't mean they're a talented team.
Goaltending has kept them out of the lottery mix.
That's it.
They are not, I said it last week, too, and I'm just another criticism.
And it's not even a Chris.
They can't elevate their game.
They can go out.
They're full elevation.
Well, right now it's, you're seeing the other side.
They go out, they'll have nice streets.
They'll like winning some games.
Hey, maybe playoff team when guys are scoring.
Then when everybody stops scoring minus one or two and you're already challenged.
Yeah.
This is when you get one period or nine, one goal in nine.
plus periods of clock.
And again, when they are scoring,
they still don't get the four goals.
Like, it's rare events you get to four.
When they're scoring,
it's not like they're scoring scoring.
It's they're just, oh, if our goalie allows two,
we can win.
When the floodgap's open,
what are we going to get to?
Three?
Yeah, maybe four.
Like yesterday,
it almost had that kind of Kipper versus Detroit vibes to it.
Not that they were getting run around.
Like the,
but you just,
there's no way they deserve to be here.
The goal he's making saves.
He's seeing the puck.
There's no skill.
here to be had.
It felt inevitable.
Like I was saying when you're asking that,
oh, so you want to go to a movie? Oh, you don't watch movies.
Oh, you don't eat food.
Okay, I guess this isn't going to work out.
It was not going to work out for the flames.
You didn't feel.
And then you get down in the dumps about it because you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Do you?
Like, again, you'll, they will win a hockey game.
They might win the next hockey game.
But where do you see this team?
competing against and who are the guy I'm get into it too deep who are the guys coming up that are
going to be those guys that can score for sure and where are the holes for them to spot into this
lineup but right like yeah it depends how what you want to zoom out here because if you want to talk
about this spring is the end of the tunnel okay there's one answer but if you're looking two
three years out if you're looking at a new building in the fall 27 I mean there's a whole lot
different depths you could go to, but I just don't see this core competing with cup contenders.
And yet we wake up today and where are they?
They're in a playoff spot.
You know what's all so wild?
They're two spots from a top 10 pick, two points.
Two, two.
Say it again.
Two points from a top 10 pick.
Two, Dean.
That's insane.
I don't know if I have a draw for that one.
Utah is 10th from the bottom.
There are two points behind the flames.
You don't say.
And so here we are again.
This is the crappy middle.
Utah is 10th from.
the bottom 23rd in the league they'll play philly tomorrow four point game proverbial four
pointer thanks but yeah like this is how compact it is look at all those teams separated by four
points that spreads from eighth overall pick to in a playoff spot wild and i look at the teams behind
the flames like yeah i like godwai rangers can't nearly be as bad as they were in november
December. Blues are coming.
Montreal's had a nice little resurgence.
Utah's look good. Like I don't think it's inconceivable.
They still get a top 10 pick here. And when you're asking about the light of the end of the
tunnel, for me, if they could have all the achievements they had in terms of young players
developing and being in big minutes, Wolf, Zeri, you know, Coronado amongst others,
Ball's Emergence is a top four guy. And you could end up picking in the top 10,
that would be the best way to have a season. Because your fan base wasn't left out in the
Wilderness in November, like we thought they were going to be where it's like, yeah, these games
be nothing and there's 50 left.
There's a lot left, but to your point, they have given, they've given you some exciting
games, some games worth watch and that sort of thing.
It has not been a death march of a season.
It's March and they're in a playoffs.
And they are in a playoffs.
Like fans are in.
I don't know that all of them necessarily believe that this is a group that could do
anything in the playoffs, but it's not like you're like, oh, yeah, the Canucks are
here next Wednesday.
That's a meaningless.
I mean, no, it's a huge game.
That's going to affect, you know, playoff standings.
But it's going to make this week boring.
Like I try and I'm trying to think of ways to shape it for just for the purposes of discussion.
I mean, on one hand, we are talking about them right now when they have played the toughest
opponents on the road and are not scoring.
Guys, it's just to look at the numbers and we'll get into it.
So it's how you don't want to judge them right now.
What you're looking at now?
But even if, okay, well, if guys start to score a little bit, you're going to have a hard
time convincing anybody. They're not
the we're going to score two to three
a night team even when we're
rolling. Yes. Because they have been rolling at times
during this season. And where are they over
in offense? They were that team
that might get, I mean, four
once in a blue moon kind of thing. I agree. And so
what this road trip is showing you is,
hey, if you did get in the playoffs, here's what round one
looks like. Yeah, it's completely dried up.
But even if you're scoring your
normal goals every
game, what are they averaging? Yeah, I know.
Two and a half.
Does it change where they sit in goal scoring throughout the league, right?
Like only the National Predators have scored fewer goals this season, period.
And they're not happy with how things are going.
They're not having a year.
They're not one to emulate.
Cheese toast.
So delicious, you know, you let us know when that's happening.
We're going to crash that party.
I'm going to extra for check.
We're to soak noodles.
French and you up, Leicester cheese toasts at the table.
Coronado had all kinds of chances, the one, the stick breaks on the one timer.
He's got a chance.
He's kind of almost wide open on a partial break after the past.
And he, I mean, Coachtkov, I don't know if he played well or what he was yesterday.
It was good enough to get.
He had one for a lot.
He's an adventure playing the podcast.
Yeah.
He's a high event guy.
Yeah, high event guy.
They did sit Sharon Govich down.
We talked about him either Thursday or Friday last week.
It's just been, it's been a long stretch.
One point in his last six games, but even going on, it's not been a difference
me at all.
Like you don't notice him.
I don't get it.
Well,
he needs a new season to begin because last year,
he started on the fourth line and they didn't know where to put him.
And he ended up getting the 30 goals and was phenomenal.
And he was your greatest.
I don't know that score from distance.
What do you like?
Played all lines, all wings.
And this year, it's like nothing's going right.
I just,
my concern and your comment is actually jumps out at me is that where did he start last year?
Centering the fourth line.
So we've seen more fourth line.
Or as much fourth line play out of him as first line.
I know he scored 30 and I was, I'm applauding him thinking,
this is great.
What a trade.
This is wonderful.
And now I'm like,
Jersey knew something.
We're okay letting him go.
Yeah.
Jersey also had lots of guys like him.
They were not offensively challenged where the flames were.
And he'd fallen down the depth chart to be like to your points and mine.
The guy's a 30 goal score.
Because you're a 30 goal scorer.
You don't.
Yeah, and they got a 30 goal score in the trade in Tofoli.
They didn't have to guess that Sharon Grovich was going to be one.
Now, that deal made sense for both teams at the time.
What you want to see is Sharon Govich get back to what he was last year because all those
skills he had last year are still there.
It does leave you wondering, though, what is that?
So what are you?
Guy that scored 30.
Oh, yeah, I wouldn't put him out for 30 again, but geez, if he had 24, you'd be thrilled.
Yeah, he's had a 24 would be thrilling.
You don't notice, I mean, you want him into stands.
Like, that's a far cry from it.
Like, no one's arguing if he's a top line center or fourth liner.
Like he clearly, for his contract, has to be a middle six winger.
Is he?
Has to be that if it's going to work out.
Is he is the question where he was with a bullet last year and not this year.
So I don't know the answer.
And it's out to what happened in Jersey, isn't it?
Because he had a good year.
24 and then down to 11 or something.
Boy, and the thing was two last year is they put him in all those different roles.
And it seemed like he didn't necessarily thrive, but he was up for the challenge.
It was more or less came through for them.
You were impressed that despite being moved around all over the lineup, he scored.
Contractor?
It was.
Yeah.
Oh.
Yeah.
Like, yeah.
It was a contract.
Yeah, he needed a contract.
Well, I do.
I brought it up.
It's, it's, you go from making nothing to 575 and what changes in your life.
Do you put more pressure on yourself?
Did you treat you and your fiancee to an incredible vacation in this off season?
Did you change your workout routines?
Like, did he's going to, did you get married?
You're going to show us?
Yeah, what happens?
What happens?
So this is what happens when you go from zero to five.
Uh-oh.
See what he's doing here?
See what he's doing?
For those just listening, he has put his feet up.
Is that?
That's right, team.
Yeah.
Yeah, and look, if you wanted to measure his,
how much he was putting his feet up.
Thank God it's a visual.
I mean, how did we ever do this in the radio?
I don't know.
Foolish.
How do we ever get our points across?
Like, how would you measure?
his effort and compete.
I mean, look, if he's not getting Pucks to Nett,
it's not going to work for him.
I just don't even, yeah.
I feel like you don't even see him to give him a rating.
Here's the question I have.
You have to really be.
Haska!
It's been great, right?
We love Huska.
Yeah.
It's done a lot with very little.
Okay.
I see him getting heat in social media.
I don't get it.
Oh, they don't have scored enough.
If you want to get Sharon Govich going,
why aren't you just feed him a bunch of one-time shots on a powerful?
Well, he has had significant.
an opportunity to do that over the course of the
65 games or whatever it is, right?
Yeah, I don't know.
It's not like I haven't tried putting him with different guys.
He's been spotted all over.
I just want, you're on the power play, shoot the puck.
That's it.
That's all I want you to do.
That's what we were saying in November when he came back from injury.
Shoot the pleading puck.
It feels like they don't even get set up on the power play for him to be in a position
to wait for it.
And to be fair, like Coronado's past him.
Frost has come in and helped him as a zone.
He's like he's, I'm not making the excuse for him,
but like you're get a chance to shoot the puck when you can earn a spot in pp1 he hasn't he hasn't
he's done then if frost and those guys have already passed by where are you going to get him in
and boy if there's a team right now that would take a little bit of soft play or some mistakes
for scoring for scoring yeah i mean it's the it's huska right now you'd be just he's dying for
it here's some of the i mean for sharon govich one point in his last six joel fairby takes a shot
off the hand yesterday.
I was kind of surprised that he came back with what it looked like, but he
comes back and had a, I guess what, a partial breakaway and didn't score.
He's got one goal in 10 games, no assist.
So the one point in 10 games is a player.
That's not good enough either.
It's not.
Frost came with him, two goals and an assist in 10 games.
I said it the other day.
I'm not looking to protect the guy.
I just feel like.
They need some time.
You need some guys around you a little bit.
The one guy was Sharon Govich, who we told you can't piss a draw.
and Farabee also.
It's death valley.
Zeri, we're giving him all kinds of space,
but he hasn't yet a post yesterday.
It might start to come,
but zero in the five since coming back.
Backlin and Coleman get a pass all the time.
There's no offense coming from that line.
Really bad the last couple months.
I don't know what's going on there.
It's either the mile.
It's 35.
Is he playing with something?
That's the message that we've kind of been giving.
Or is it fathered time?
There was one play last.
Last night, it was, I don't know what period it was.
Ordinarily, he would have gotten to a puck.
There was a puck just kind of in front of him.
And rather than skateboard, he just kind of reached for it.
Do you want me to pile on?
He has zero and eight, one assist in 13 games.
Coleman has nothing in 10 games.
So they might be contributing in other ways.
But now you've got your third line with zero off it.
So what you're seeing is a fourth line that's got issues because it's got
Rooney on it all the time. And Longberg
who we love, but doesn't accomplish anything
moving the needle in terms of offense.
And then your first line
can create some things. Cadre,
Huberto, and now Coronado up there,
but you're getting nothing from lines two and three
offensively. Go ahead. I was going to say
is posthal and Lomberg
need to be moved, used in a
different way. I didn't fall. They put possible up top
for questions. But that's what I'm saying. Do you need to just
say, you know what? Yeah, you guys are shitty
offensively, but you know what? Backland
and Coleman, we're putting Lombard
with you because you guys are they put back on the fourth line for a bit they moved pospousal to play
with frost and zary that's some more talent for frost to work with i have a criticism again of backs then
where it's like pick up your let's go everyone has to salute you as the captain well then
take up a leadership role yeah so you do other no no no what's the team need right now scoring so
score yeah he's never been good at that to be fair
but it would be nice if he could.
Nice to give him a pass.
So he's the guy that gets the pass.
He's 35 and he's never put up goals.
We can't expect it now, can we?
I think when you're the captain of a,
I want to swear, I'm trying not to,
of the NHL team and you know that your team needs something.
If you're expected to be a good leader,
you go and do what needs to be done.
And whether it's his gift or not,
it's not like he can't.
Make an impact.
Yeah.
Like, hey, look, I don't,
I don't disagree with any of that.
I just think if you're, if you've looked at the last decade of his career,
your expectation for this year would be like 12 to 16 goals.
And he's going to get 12 to 16.
Yeah, but it's not when you need it.
It's just that he hasn't scored since 10.
Not what you need a goal now.
Why aren't you yesterday?
It's five weeks of that goal.
Why aren't you yesterday the first star of the game?
Because you're like, you know what?
My team needs that's leadership.
Yeah, I don't know that he's capable of 35 to be fair to go be the first star of a game.
trouble they can't score and i don't know if it is he's a third line center he's been that his whole
career he's asked to be a two-line center this year you're doing it again it's the it's the typical
backland is great except he's not expected to contribute in any way unless he can't
he's expected to contribute hugely defensively by playing other teams top lines all night but
offense is not ever what he's been good at i don't buy it okay i mean look i told you i don't
i haven't liked this game for the last couple months but again he slotted a line higher than
should be. Then fine, slot all these guys.
None of them are any good and blow the team up.
Like, that's what you're, like. I'm not saying
that. I mean, they pretty much are the team they should be with just really good goals.
Stop talking about it. No, no, no. No, no. I do. I get what I was saying.
I, I would love for this team to have a captain that could at age 35 take over a game and be
first star and score when they need it. It's one day. That's not this team. They're not good.
It's one game. You can't elevate your game and recognize that.
I mean, I'm putting a, kind of drying a line of the sand here, but it's true.
It's one game and your team needs you.
You're supposed to be the lead, like, make it impact.
Yeah, I wouldn't look for offense.
Well, then I would be very concerned if you think that, again, I'll go back to.
So in the playoffs, how's he like, you can't elevate then.
So he's just going to be a shutdown.
If you can't elevate for a game.
Yeah.
Oh, look, I don't think any of these guys have more sealing to give aside from the
sharing go, which is of the world who have been big letdowns.
Like, this isn't a good enough team in my mind.
So, like, what I would measure back and by is like, do they work their tails off?
Are they a cohesive group?
The answer is yes for both those.
It doesn't means to have it a great year.
But like the captain thing doesn't mean you have to go score goals.
I don't see the effort, though.
Like it's been a tough month, like I've said three times now.
It's been really rough.
He hasn't scored to stand.
27.
Yeah, you're talking both sides of fence.
You throw out a cap is a caveat where it's like,
oh, I don't think he's building well,
but it's not his fault because he's 35.
No, I'm not saying it's not his fault.
I'm saying your expectations are off if you're thinking he's going to score goals.
I think you're a clown for saying that the captain of an NHL team,
you can't have any expectation of them.
Now, are you saying that he could make that impact without scoring?
That's what I'm saying.
He's asking for offense.
Has he hit anyone?
Has he driven the net?
Has he made a pass?
Has he won the faceoffs?
Has he done a captain's,
job.
Face off has been good, but otherwise no.
Penalick kill's been excellent on this road trip.
Otherwise, no.
Like, that's the thing, even.
Yeah.
So take away the goal scoring.
It's, it's, he's in a bad way right now.
He is.
Yeah, he really is.
And with that has gone Coleman, who I think is also, there's points there.
Yeah, it.
It's ugly.
It's hard to watch right now.
And we, but we expected this to be October, November December, December,
it's March into the playoffs spot.
It's still, it has.
It has happened.
But yeah, like you look at the middle six.
No one's playing well.
Nobody.
Well,
and all those.
So that's all,
I'll list it off.
Fairby.
One in 10.
Yeah.
Frost,
three points in 10 games.
Pospisal,
very rarely are,
you know,
a nice little bit here on this road trip,
but not nearly as impactful as you saw the first two months of it as
an NHL career.
Zeri coming back from injury,
not right yet.
Sharingovich lost to see.
Outside of,
outside of the two guys at the top,
Cadry and Hubert.
And Coronado.
who's been very good.
That's it.
Yeah.
And so again,
this is why we thought
this was a team
that wasn't good enough.
You're counting on guys
in their earlier mid-30s
to be guys
they've never been their whole career.
Like Coleman getting 30 last year,
that's a complete outlier
that was never going to happen again.
His shooting percentage was sky high.
It was a very lucky year.
You could not have put them down
for more than 22, 23 this year.
Like, they're just not good at scoring.
They have no game breakers.
So they need a top 10 pick.
And to your point in,
In different years, and we've seen it here with teams, you'd be, okay, this is, if you're going to miss the playoffs, maybe Backland sits down for a stretch, you bring in somebody from, you bring in that next prospect who you have high hopes for from the farm.
Or you slide guys down and elevate it.
So, Clapka came in, but, you know, I, okay, that's Clapka.
Does Rory Carrens, is he, it doesn't feel like they're two years away from graduating a crop of.
not at the four position high level
score. I'm not and you're you guys would know more about the crop
that's even being grown right now I don't know
like Perix far and away the best prospect and that's and that's
I still and I love per X one thing
you have to have some forwards that yeah and I don't know
who they are and they might be out there and there might be high hopes for
for some of the guys that are coming along but there's no one knocking on the door
when you need goals and you you
you've watched this team and
Coleman can't score
and it's not that you're going to bench Coleman
and Backland, but you can't
turn to anywhere
and get goals.
If they somehow get a top 10 pick
and take a forward there, that's their best forward
prospect, period, stop.
That, because they just
don't have a sure thing there.
Bash has dealt with injury this year.
Gridon's playing in the queue,
lighting it up on a mediocre team,
okay, kind of what you'd hope he's doing.
good. You know, you've got some bigger stabs.
Like, Patagli having a nice year. Still, what, a second rounder in the O?
Like, there's nobody close. Hansick is going to be a project.
You know, we don't even know he's a center of a winger yet. He's hurt again.
I do not like this. No, but, but that's why you need a top 10 pick. And that's why I really
challenged by people that are like, no, no, you really should resign Rasmus.
Like, do you know far away you are? My opinion, well, do you know how far away you are?
Stop talking about Rasmus because people are listening.
And if you poo-poo them, we're not going to get us good.
I'm not saying what his play is.
I'm saying you've got to trade him, turn him into young assets.
I've come around.
I was kind of back and forth.
I think his play is dictated that if somebody wants him, trade him.
It is tough, though, to watch because you are, you're looking at a team with Zeri and Coronado and Farabee and Frost.
I mean, these were first round forwards.
These are first round guys.
They're supposed to be able to put the puck in that.
And it's not happening for them.
And it's not.
Yeah, it's a reminder that it's like,
oh, Connie's going to go trade for one of these young centers.
Like, yeah, but is it going to be a failed one or one that it's also a reminder
that whatever you pick in the first round is no guarantee that he's going to be a difference.
Of course, but if you look where all those guys are picked and where a top 10 pick is in here,
it's a way higher pick.
It's a better.
It's a higher probability of hitting.
And again, we've never said you get one pick.
It's going to change the team.
What we've said is you need to have a lot of first and second round.
I think you're wrong.
I think you have to have one pick and you just don't.
know if it's going to be. My point is the more bullets you have in the first and second round,
the more likely you can actually find that game changing forward. But if you look at it and if you
want to, who's, who's the biggest game changer right now for the team? It's Wolf. Yeah. He's giving you
performance and game changing ability like you would want out of a first round pick. So let's just for,
you know, you got Wolf in the first round, Hansek, Zeri, Coronado, Frost, Fair. That's a lot of first
rounders. You could look at it and say, we went through a rebuild. We've got five or six of our first
rounders playing for the team right now. I mean, it's kind of an unreal, weird argument because like,
what's the highest picked guy there? Like, 15, 20? Like, the whole idea of a rebuild is you get,
well, you pick high enough that you, you get the much more likely to be a superstar guy. And when
you get outside of the top three, top five, top 10, like your chance of a superstar continues to drop,
drop, drop to where 20 to 30 is like, is this an NHL? Okay, but. So like, so like, like, 30.
he's not 20 he's 15 so he's five spots from the 10th that you're desperately saying
it's going to be a difference maker i'm saying you got a better chance of it being a difference
maker than a 23 year old that hasn't done anything in the league yet i don't get what you're saying
no like they like if you could uh like frost is there it's an intriguing prospect but he's 25
if i'm correct when was frost and ferriby drafts in jac yeah 18 and 19 drafts 17 and 18
Anyway, keep going.
And so those aren't high, they're not top 10 picks.
They're not, like if I'm correct, because I know fair.
I think you're right.
But I also think it's hard.
Like, you have to be talking about a team that's really bad to pick in the top 10,
four, five, six straight years.
Yeah, to have a plethora of top 10 picks.
But that's not what I'm saying.
Like, I'm not saying, I've never said they need to pick in the top 10 for four,
five, six years.
What I'm saying is when a situation like Rasmus,
Anderson comes along, don't get the feel goods about a guy wanting to resign and saying nice things
and turn that guy into as many high-end picks as you can.
And so if you have one of your own picks in the top 10 and you have somebody else's between 18 and 25,
go do that.
You've spun it again.
It's not about Anderson.
The more picks we-
Okay, so trade Anderson for four second rounders?
No, trade him for a first, a prospect, and a player, whatever.
Like, go get as many young-
and I don't disagree with you.
But I think, and it comes back to the original argument,
I think that you make it sound a little bit simplistic sometimes,
which is how easy it is.
Get bad, pick high, get picks, be good, cup.
They have some first round picks playing for this team right now.
Not of them high.
But so, yeah, Frost is 27.
Joel Farabby 14.
If you're not drafted high, you can't be an impact.
So I guess what you're seeing is,
so you, there's not a lot of superstars coming.
Now you're, now at the caveat.
now you have to be not just get picks but they have to be all top 10 picks they all have to have to have you.
You're making my argument very buying.
What I'm saying is the best thing for this team is to me bottom out for a couple of years.
Sorry.
That's a clear answer.
And I'm not saying, okay, well, this one pick and now they're going to win a cup.
I've never said that.
What I'm saying is if you want to give your sign a chance to win a cup in a new building,
you're going to need to pick high in the draft a few times and hit.
And so if you're going to resign Rasmus Anderson,
You're throwing away a few lottery tickets of what could be your next superstar.
To pay a guy big money to be a second and then third pair guy deep into his 30s.
We talked about Anderson last week.
His stock and value in trade is dropping and his demands for financial remuneration.
Is that a good word?
Can I use that?
Does that make sense?
Is also dropping?
I still think he's a guy that is better than most teams' fourth defensemen.
And that's an asset that would help you get first rounders.
and the salary helps even more.
It's like you're telling me that I'm wrong in my,
but I'm trying to make it sound like he's not worth a lot.
I think he would be worth a lot in the trade.
I don't think his,
there's a reason we're all coming around to,
yeah,
go ahead and trade him.
It's because he's not playing at any league level.
There's two things happening.
It's his play,
but it's also the understanding that with Rasmus Anderson,
is this team even good?
Because it's really like you take good goaltening away
and why are you locking into the back nine of a player
of a core that isn't good enough.
I'm not arguing for.
So there's two things happening.
I don't think he's having a great year,
but you're also going to be able to spot him.
So you're telling me the rest of the leagues watching Anderson get older,
play worse,
but like not noticing?
What I'm saying is that Rasmus Anderson for this year and next year
is still a valuable trade asset.
I totally agree.
I'm just,
he's not,
if he was a first ballot all start in a world star game this year,
if he was at 50 points,
and was playing 25 minutes and he's worth more.
He's not playing as well.
Other teams are going to notice his value is not increasing the way he's playing,
is what I'm saying.
Yeah, I think teams know exactly what Rasmus Anderson is at this point.
I don't think they're scared of the next two years.
I think you should be scared of the next nine,
which is what the Flames would be signing up for.
I do think, though, to Rett's point, I think that some of the,
shines off. Sure, because he's playing 24 a night. If he's on a second pair on a contender,
what's what's his workload like? Yeah, but you're acting like he isn't showing any, like,
I'm sorry, I'm putting words in your mouth, but you're making it seem like this is,
every team in the league, it's the only thing and they're going to give you whatever you want.
And I don't think he's playing well enough to demand that. And do you remember when I said trade
Gierdano and you're like, you're an idiot? No, we all agree.
They should trade better than Anderson. You would have traded him before,
nor a sear, which would have been in hindsight
crazy. Not trading him before the expansion draft
was where we all agree. No, no, no, no. Yeah.
You should have traded him when he was
at a King's ransom. I said it for years.
It's great that Giordano's
playing well. But anyway,
I don't know why that's... He's
playing more than he should, and it's
exposed him more than he should be exposed.
And Kevin Ball
was who a year ago? A third
pair guy? A six, seven?
Like, let's... I'm
not trying to make excuses, but what I'm
trying to paint as the pitcher.
If you're the Dallas stars and you've got Hayskin in and Lindell and Harley,
is that not a way better place to Rasmus to come in and play top four minutes?
And I'm not saying Dallas is a fit.
It's way less needed than to Rasmus.
I get it, but like they're going to look at it and go, yeah, we need a guy.
But what do you, like, they're not going to open up the floodgates to shore up a good defense core.
Teams will have an idea what they want to give up in terms of either.
I don't know that Dallas is the right example.
Yeah, you know, who else would look good in Dallas?
Kevin Ball.
Because guess what?
It's easy to play in Dallas because the rest of the deer are good.
Yeah, I just think again, it's the right shot and it's a guy that you're not going to have placed the burden on that Calgary has to because of how thin.
And the shitty part about all this is I don't think they're trading Anderson until next year.
They won't.
They'll do it this summer if they're going to do it.
Yeah. Which sucks, but it's also Connie being a.
a guy that's been in those rooms and knowing
the potential fallout
of moving him. Like, let's say
they trade him on Thursday. Who's the next
knock on your door? But that's the catch of it all, because I think
we all agree with you. We're not as convinced
that a draft pick
simply saying draft someone's
going to because I do agree. Frost
and Farabee, and a lot, there's been
a lot of people that have been drafted with
very high regards and expectation
and not turned out. So it's not a guarantee.
So we all think that
drafting have lost my train.
We all think that drafting higher.
We're talking about trading Anderson and what it would do to the team, right?
Oh, yeah.
And then the catch to keeping Anderson is that it hurts you more in dropping to that higher spot, right?
Like, I don't know that that's a strategy to trade someone away so that your team's not as good so that you get in that.
Yeah, no, it might be a fortunate little side effect.
You wouldn't do it because of that.
But I think what you have to ask yourself of your Craig Conroy is, if I were to make this trade this week, what am I getting back?
and what's the probability of that helping my team in the big picture more than Rasmus would
in the big picture when you factor in salary and when you factor in the caliber of the player,
the age of the player, all that. And I think when you look at it that way, it's a no-brainer.
But the human element is one that I think we can't put values on as easily.
And that's how does Nazim Kodry, Blake Coleman, McKenzie Weeger?
I think that's where they feel if Rasmus leaves and now you're getting more Pahal-Miramano of
Solov.
then you already have too much.
I almost wonder if that's the conversation
that Conroy and management,
and I'm sure they have,
because they're going to have 8 million conversations.
They talk about it all day instead of just two hours like us.
Do we sell it all?
And can we sell it all?
Not really.
Given what we've heard and what we know about
what Connie said publicly,
I don't think he has any interest of disrupting the room.
And this summer he'll reevaluate.
chicken shit.
Do you,
boom,
you have any sense
that they're,
no,
I can't imagine
I can't see them
selling.
They're too close.
I think they,
they should consider it
more than they probably are,
but I still,
I understand.
They're in a playoff spot.
It's a huge vote of non-confidence
to a room that's been unbelievable.
You know,
tough week aside.
The problem.
This team is so far outshot
their expected results.
Because of Wolf.
Yep.
It's becoming more and more clear.
It's because of why.
one guy and Conroy should just, and I actually seriously mean this, just stop and go back to 2010, 2011, and watch a few games.
It's the same lineup.
A bunch of old guys boring to watch, not quite that good, but was that goaltender?
Unbelievable.
It's, it's, it's, I'm just doing it off the top of my head.
I'll bet you it would be eerily similar.
to what we saw a decade ago.
Yeah.
I mean,
there are some young guys,
but they're not stars.
I mean,
you're hopeful they could continue to improve,
but I agree with you.
Like,
it's not a young team.
You know,
and the other thing is,
too,
it's not a story yet.
And maybe it won't be.
Maybe I'm just kind of popped into my head.
Like,
you hear teams like up the road.
All you're wasting so-and-so
or you're wasting this guy with how this team,
you know,
the trajectory,
it doesn't look like next year or the year after is going to suddenly,
oh,
they've got all the scoring.
They're a couple of years.
They're going to have to hit a...
You're going to talk about Dustin Wolf.
He's not a kid anymore.
You don't wasting good quality years of Dustin Wolf's prime here.
And that's why the top priority of the summer has to be eight years for Dustin Wolf.
So you've got a nine-year window.
So you can take two or three if you need to to get the pieces you're missing.
I lived it in Buffalo.
We had the best goalie in the world, maybe ever.
They never won.
We had a real close one year with a group of dusters and a goalie.
If they'd have had the funding and the wherewithal to go grab a couple stars and actually add a goal score, they absolutely, I'm sorry.
That's a decade of not good enough.
Yeah.
And so I guess the question that we're all kind of dancing around is like, how bad can they actually be with Dustin Wolf?
And I don't know because they might be bottom 10 in the league bad with them having a great year.
Here's a question too then.
Before you get rid of it.
You're right.
But would this be the one year where you can manipulate it and say, well, he's a rookie.
We don't have to play him every game.
We can actually go.
If he's going to be that good and it sounds stupid, but a year or two from now,
he's 100% playing as many games as he wants.
Yeah.
This year you can say, no, you're playing every other game.
They're getting your feet wet.
We're going to, this might be the one year where you could sacrifice.
a few starts to go backwards to get higher.
Yeah, and look, the coach would never want to do it in the room.
Don't care.
But if you're Craig Conroy, you got to slam your fist on the table.
If you're a point out with a week to go, we're like, we can't before to win another game.
I'd love you, Hoska.
And I was just saying pick 11 to Montreal.
It is an absolute, the beginning of the year, you say, what's the worst case scenario for this team?
Be like giving pick 11 to 16 to the haves.
That's the worst case.
Because pick number 27, 28 from Florida, who cares?
Whatever.
But pick 11, that's, oh my God.
like you're telling me you're one year into a rebuild and you had to give away your first.
Like really it all started a year ago.
It was February last year when they moved Lindholm.
They followed that up by moving Tanna and Hannafin and like we're talking about a year into this thing.
People have to understand you need some level of patience here.
You can't have this hot goal tending and look we're flirting with the playoffs and be like,
rebuild's over.
Like, well, that's not a rebuild.
That's fooling yourself or it's not a rebuild at all.
I guess my, because we keep having this conversation,
to me it's not, are you fooling yourself into thinking you're a playoff team?
It's just the goal he's going to keep you in games you don't deserve to be in.
And you're going to be winning games.
You shouldn't be winning, which then moves you up.
It gets you into that mucky middle kind of territory.
Kind of, yeah.
I mean, that's so.
You almost love Wolf to be a prime, like, but that's what I'm saying.
If he got, if he got hurt one year, you would pick very high.
You don't want him to get hurt, but you know that's probably.
what would happen. And again, it's kind of back to the Anderson thing. Like,
this decor, you delete his 20, his team leading 25 minutes. Look out. Like it's
dusters all over. You want you want to see top pair Jake Bean, go get it. Like it's
ugly. So do you trade Dustin Wolf? Absolutely not. You get a king's ransom. Absolutely not.
You want to be bad. And you're still a long ways away. He's your.
best player for the next decade.
You don't move him. You collect good young players.
I know. But I get
the, it's an interesting conversation.
That best player is going to
screw you. You're screwing us, Wolf.
Yeah.
What a predicament. It's quite a
spot to be in. And it
was funny too, right?
It's not, it is until
the 11th pick. Right.
Goes to my shit. Yeah, it is still game 82's over.
It's like, oh, shit. Can you imagine
some guy like, we thought he was going to be a top five
pick you slid all the way to 11 here come the habs with calgary's pick and that kid turns into
a star you're like that's how it's going to go remember when they trade it up to get Trevor kid
and the pick they traded away was marty brooder we're cursed that's what flame says let's be
say yeah yeah big game in philly tomorrow got to get it big game and two points
we're going to score some goals you'd fill it to get those two points big one in the universe
standings i'm here for it ready for it it's going to be great nice start time yeah like that
Yeah.
Fellas.
Let's talk about something that doesn't get enough attention.
You know what I mean?
A lot of buildup.
Pelvic floor health.
I was thinking it might be the pelvic floor.
Yeah, you say?
I haven't talked about it enough.
I mean, you're a guy.
We're all guys.
We all got floors.
Are we the only ones with floors?
Your pelvic floor plays a huge role in everything in your life,
bladder control to sexual function.
Here's the thing.
Strong pelvic floor means better performance,
stamina, even a boost in your confidence.
you'll be...
Pop in your step.
I've got a strong pelvic floor over here.
If you're waking up at night to go to the bathroom,
it's not just annoying.
It's a sign that something could be off.
Well, the good news is it can be fixed
with a completely non-invasive approach
using M-CELA Therapy.
That's where the team at be aroused.c.a comes in.
They want to help men take charge of their pelvic
and sexual health with science-backed treatments.
No gimmicks, no awkward conversations,
just real solicit.
And we've been talking about this for a while.
Let's get over it.
Just be a man.
Have conversations to talk about this stuff.
Don't be a silly goose and be all nervous about it.
If you've noticed changes in your performance, your bladder control, or you just want to optimize things, don't you want to be the best you can be?
Check them out.
It's time that we talk openly about men's health because taking care of yourself should never be embarrassing.
Head over to be aroused.ca and see what they're all about.
we've been talking about for a long time.
I think,
I think we're all just another step closer.
Maybe it, maybe you've gone.
And if you have, right on.
If you've got,
if you got an appointment booked, right on.
And maybe today with that compelling case that we just threw out.
Yeah.
Maybe today's the day you go to be aroused dot C and you're like,
yeah, I'm doing it.
I'm going to figure out my pelvic floor issues.
I'm going to stop waking up six times to go to the washroom in the middle of the night.
I didn't know a whole lot about pel.
But thank goodness for the Mod Medical Clinic.
I didn't really realize.
Learning more every day.
And then it's like, how pelvic floor?
Is this a thing?
And then you start to, oh, look at this.
Well, health magazine in this here.
There's a lot of people kind of talking about the pelvic.
Yeah, that's what we've been telling you.
Thank you, Mod Medical Clinic, Beraos.com.
Thank you for that.
Appreciate that.
There were some trades going on already.
Man, we're three.
We talked to Dregs on Friday.
And at that time, I don't know how close it felt.
So, Seth Jones kind of went after the game and talked about,
Oh, it's stinks here.
It's in the same.
Maybe it's because you stink, buddy.
Well, he going.
What?
Just like that.
Well, and a guy that knew him really well, his old AGM is the guy that is buying stock in Seth Jones,
albeit at a lower price.
We could have went and got.
We could have went and got Knight.
Spencer Knight.
For Anderson.
Mm-hmm.
And then we would have been able to trade Wolf because we would have two.
Oh, I see.
Yeah.
I'd maybe spin night again.
checkers.
Chess.
That's what you're doing.
No.
Oh, I'm okay.
Wasn't sure of the analogy.
Yeah, Seth Jones, he's a Florida.
Now, remind me, Rhett,
it's an old story,
you've told over the,
I know where you're going.
There's a friend of yours
to play for the Chicago Blackhawks.
Making a good living,
enjoying life as a Chicago Blackhawk,
but then gets traded to the Florida Panthers.
Sunshine State.
So who is that and what was that?
I don't need to name names,
but I can tell,
you this there's one million no doleros saved in taxes by going from old chai town to the sunshine
state extra million just a free million like that same game poof on the ice so same league same game
million in my pocket so what yeah so what you had that was sign a new contract did he have to
change positions no no same position really yeah yeah so i mean
Suppy, right? It gets this deal, but didn't sign a new deal, but it's just that's the
tap implications. Nice little bump. Seth Jones, congratulations.
A couple million. It's probably making double what soupy was making.
Maybe there will be a time you'll look at a third more and be, I'd rather be in Chicago.
Blackhawks are pretty good now in Florida. Drake's told us. Kind of over the hill, but sucks.
You know what? You can always go back to Chicago in the summer and watch Cubs games all summer.
You could live in Wrigleyville. I would love to know.
when of the checks is every two weeks do you get paid like a normal human does i think there's
it's one first till the end of the season so it's basically every two weeks just to see okay so here's
here's what went into the old checking account from my chicago contract when i was there the same
contract but here's my chicago payday now here's my florida payday yeah what the difference
there is two weeks every month would be what's interesting is that florida plays in the division
with montreal ottawa toronto and you do get
taxed for your road games in those constituencies so it's not as simple but yes you're well ahead
in in florida to be sure it's like oh i'm just getting a new sports car every two weeks that's
nice that was the first thing i didn't we always hear about all the taps it's tax free this all that
makes a big difference that was one of the first ones that i had heard where you're like it's an
extra million a year take home holy shit it's not exactly like finding a fiver in the skijack
no a little better that's a considerable thing
in the couch.
So you feel for these GMs that are trying to sign free agents
and are up against those types of things.
Hey, Arizona had no state tax.
I wanted to go there last year.
Well,
and either did,
we talked to it.
Or it was a shite until,
it's not a,
as simple as,
oh,
taxes,
you have to be competitive.
Run a good organization.
You asked,
um,
Dregor about it on Friday.
He was like,
you know,
Chicago was this place.
No one wanted to go to and then everyone wanted to go to.
Like,
I understand the money matters and that,
You overlook the taxes for the city and success.
But the biggest factor for most players has to be a chance to win.
Well, if you win, you get paid more.
So you kind of combat the other side of it, plus the atmosphere of play and playing.
I was a little surprised to hear that it sounds like Chicago is not on the most wanted.
Yeah, that's so when they're winning again, I think they're right back to where they were.
The other question I had for him was, is Barard good enough to bring people in?
He was like, I'm not sure.
Badard, yeah.
No, and look, everyone's like, oh, he's a great player.
Like, Evanston can bring people into play with McDavid
unless they paid market or above.
Like, Zach Hyman took more money and more term to go there.
It wasn't a deal to play with McDavid, right?
Anyway.
Can I say this, that there's some questionable decisions
that have been made up north.
Yeah.
Yes, it looks like they're paying market price.
Did they have to?
And with the guys they brought, Hyman's fine,
because he's scoring 50 because he's, yeah.
but there's some other guys they've brought in and you'd say well they got market price to come play here
well yeah because nobody else wanted them you know what I mean skinner and arbor yeah like way to go
way I don't know if those are good decisions anyway I know people don't like it it's not everybody
some people don't like it oh it's the oiler show I am very captivated by what they're going to do this week
because they always you have to do something and there's a new wrinkle too because it's the first
deadline for this management team. You got Stan Bowman and Jeff Jackson, not Ken Holland,
who had five consecutive trade deadlines and we knew what to expect from them. And I do think that
also, given the recent hiccups and the new management team and the age of the roster and the lack
of success of the free agents brought in, you kind of have to have a good run this year to continue
to say, Connor, this is still your best place to win because he can go anywhere in a year and a half.
And I think
Stang's not crazy, but
you can't flame out in round one and have a happy chat
with Connor about an extension this summer.
I'll say that.
Yeah.
Regardless of an extension,
it's a year of his prime.
It's a year of his chance to win.
And it's a year where Leon's making eight and a half,
not 14.
And Bouchard's making slow our money,
not 10 plus.
He's got a boosh.
Is he still?
Is there the Bush bomb?
I don't know if there's as many bombs.
The Norris discussion is certainly.
He's Carlson 2.0.
If you,
John Gibson,
it seems like there's a bit of kind of smoke there.
It's so weird with their goalies,
because I think Pickert's a three,
and he's giving you what threes give you.
They can come up and be great,
and they can look awful at times,
not unlike what we saw from Stolar's forever,
what we've seen from Alex Lyon,
like what David Riddick's given L.A.
Like he's a three.
And Skinner, they thought was part of a platoon.
And they went Jack Campbell, not the guy to bring in,
to come in and be a platoon mate with him.
So they're still in my mind missing a platoon mate.
But when Skinner's on, he's awesome.
It's just that he has these huge swaths where he's awful.
Who made the call on the deals this past summer?
Is that Jackson?
Yeah.
And Stan Bowman, I think, was hired even after some of them were made.
Summer of Jeff, remember?
How smart he was.
I mean, Ken Holland's won a ton.
I do feel like
this, the Bowman Jackson
would have a, I feel like they would have a better grasp
as to what the team needs. There was no rush.
I still, I have no question that Kenny knows what the hell's going on.
But I feel like he was like, I got five years and I'm going to go after it real fast here.
Yeah.
He also wouldn't have put himself in a spot to be offer sheet.
That was a rookie move.
You didn't have, you could put those in a drawer like Lou Lamarillo does for two months
or leave an arb case so that you're not, you know, you get another buyout way.
There was just a lot of rookie GMing happening this summer.
And all for what?
So you could get a bought out Jeff Skinner who hasn't fit and a Victor Arvinson who hasn't been good.
The least surprising.
That was your day one put ourselves into trouble to get these guys.
Wasn't Arvinson last year?
No, it was July 1.
Yeah.
First thing they did was him and Skinner.
You're like, what?
That's a.
And then you get offer sheeted because of it because you're capped out.
If you don't have those guys signed or it's in a drawer for two months, then you don't know what offers you.
God.
And those are young good players.
You almost feel bad for.
almost keyword almost feel bad for some of those fans and people because they should be a lot more going
it should be a dynasty and that's why it's so critical they have put a bunch of muck into places they didn't need to
like what they're missing is exactly philip brobert a young improving right shot top fair defenseman
grasp us and he'd look good there right shot to play with nurse but see you got to play checkers not
Not chess, not checkers.
You've got to move Anderson somewhere because you can't trade them to the Oilers to help him in a cup.
So that it's got to be the.
Hall always having a monster year too.
It's like, whoa.
We're going to trade me.
Cloud's having a good year.
Fogles having a good year.
Trade me.
So the Jones deal.
It's Jones and a fourth to Florida for Spencer Knight the goalie who he missed an entire year.
He was in the program for a bit.
He's also shown flashes of really strong.
play. He was out playing Bobber
at one point, wasn't it? Yeah, as Alex Lion
has two as well as that sounds. This year
2.40, goals
against 907, save percentage
on a very good team. He's still just 23.
Goleys, right?
Right.
Yeah. So they get
and then Chicago get Spencer Knight and a
conditional first.
And Shed Jones. They are keeping
26% of Jones's salary.
Mixed Jones about a 7.5 million dollar
player for it. Yeah, 7.03
I think is what it ended up being. And so
that's, that's,
pretty much what in this new universe, because this deal has five more years on it,
that's three, four pick, which is awesome because if you're slotting Seth Jones there,
he's not going to disappoint you.
To me, that's almost, that's one of the biggest parts of this deal.
Absolutely.
There's five years to go, because we talk about a quadry trade or whatever, right?
How you could eat some cadre money.
They got five years of $2.47 million a year.
And all three retention slots are used for this year.
Chicago cannot retain salary under the transaction this year.
I think it was what the ranting one they ate
and then maybe
that was a stupid one
I'm better whatever yeah
so for for Florida
and I I'm very curious to see
now Seth Jones what are you
you played for a rough team in
in Columbus
you've not been on a very good team in Chicago
he's got 27 points in 42 games
and you can be a really great player
and have leadership skills
but not have to be a captain
and you can go do that now in Florida
that's a really tough spot to be a
Or just step up and be that guy.
No, I know.
And you said it about two guys today.
I just think that's a really bad team.
That's a really tough spot.
I'm set out about two guys.
Well, no.
I mean,
two captains where it's like,
just be better.
And it's like,
I don't think guys aren't trying to be better.
I don't think Seth Jones just trying to be bad in Chicago.
It's just a really shitty team.
It's just a really shitty team.
Yeah.
And so now he gets slotted in in a much better spot.
So make it easy for me.
Then I'll have,
if I could only play with Lidstrom,
fuck would I be good.
You would have been.
I would have been.
Yes.
Very good.
And you know what?
He'd like playing with you too.
God.
Dang right.
He would have.
I'm a good guy.
I'm a nice person.
You'd have just been humping his leg.
Hey,
Nick, Nick, what could I get you, Nick?
Nick, what are you going to be in?
Nick?
This stakes on me, Nick.
Hey, me and you.
Two feet of five, me and you, Nick.
Is Reggie taking strays here on this?
What's wrong?
And Ryan's not wrong, but that is the other side of it.
at some point. Oh, I signed for nine and a half. I'm supposed to be this good.
It's really hard. Remember I asked Frank when he like three weeks ago?
When Seth Jones gets traded, what's he going to be? So he's a number one. I was like,
you sure? Like I asked him he's going to be a four or five. Like he's going to get paid like a second
pair guy and he's going to be used like a second pair guy here. He's not Aaron Eckblad. He's not
even Gustav Forsling at this point. Like he's going to be their third or fourth best defenseman. And
that's a great spot for the Florida Panthers to have him.
Like that's the thing.
Could you want more from him?
Absolutely.
Are the Florida Panthers way better?
Yeah.
Like anyway.
I just wonder, have we seen the best Seth Jones yet?
Could he go there be put in a, not just make life easier for him, but it's a good team finally.
He's not played on a good team ever.
I look at OEL going to Florida last year and what it did for him.
He played lower down the depth chart, the expectations.
of trade and contract weren't there
because he'd been bought out by Vancouver
and he was a much better version of himself.
And he was also asked to do a little bit less heavy lifting.
I think absolutely he'll be good there.
I don't know that it's prime Seth Jones.
Some of his career years and his mid-20s are pretty damn good.
But for the Florida Panthers, this deal is outstanding.
Feels like it.
Because Matthew Chukh injury, everyone's like, oh, the Panthers are screwed.
First thing I thought was, is Chukuk out long enough for them to go LTIR?
Because if so, they're going to add another 9 million.
dollar player how old is that
29 30 30 131 somewhere in that
I mean that
you potentially have him for the back
nine there too if he's 30
and you got five more years of him granted
it's seven not nine and a half
in terms of millions but yeah
I mean it's still seven million if a guy
can't play in your top four all of a sudden
I'll get the age
he's 30 right now
I think the Zito's a good GM
he's very sharp I like that
Bill Zito Billy he's
building around the draft day so his last year here will be in florida excuse me jones it'll be his 35 year old
season we'll turn 35 at the beginning of the year yeah and look like his 34 35 35 old seasons might suck
the guy that the flames are talking about extending they're going to pay for his 35 36 37 year old
seasons i don't know if the flames it's weird talking about it fans no i the flames have said we'd like
to get rasmus done and i think we all acknowledge it's like about a six billion bucks
How about a four-year deal, Ross?
Three-year deal?
The age in the year.
Let's wait.
Yeah.
I do like that you take what they say in the media as gospel.
No, I think.
All the flames have said that they really want to sign.
What are they going to say?
I, I, what I'm more of the point of making is that he's going to be a max term player,
whether it's in free agency or an extension.
I maybe think part of that too was.
maybe the GM was tired of people calling.
100%.
So he just told the media,
yeah,
we're looking to sign them long term.
We're not trading them.
Yeah.
And again,
I'm talking to people around things that,
I'm not going to talk about just public facing into a TV camera stuff.
I think there is an appetite to sign.
I mean,
I think the concerns are growing that with the huge cap growth and the season he's having,
it might be harder than they would have thought it was in the fall.
The other thing that we haven't really talked about is,
is, well, what's he going to be at 35, 36, and where is the team going to be all that?
What's the money going to be?
What does he think?
It's got to be huge.
What does he think he's in the next few years?
And then do you, do you want to pay that?
So the next year, the cap will be around 95.
The year after, it's like 104 and a half.
That's the market he's jumping into.
And a year after that, it's 114.
That will be the only saving grace for Erasmus Anderson's contract over the years that it plays out.
Is that it continually will.
If the cap.
Yes, because the cap should.
It's also why his agent will ask for even more than he would have theoretically
if his deal was up last summer, right?
Like quite a bit more.
And that,
and from the flame,
if you're a Flames fan and an Anderson fan,
you're a fan of getting him at a team discounted deal,
not full market value.
Yep.
And if you're his agent,
you're saying,
I just played at 4.55 on a team friendly deal for the last six years.
It's time for me to get paid.
That's why I think this is.
way harder to get done than people are making it out to be we got all week to talk about the trade
deadline uh is it's coming trade deadline yeah it's coming up other trades you we only talked about one
there are others other two in the pender report if you okay we'll do that leaps win again god they're
good are they're bribed up some bad teams for a while though five in a row they've won eight of nine
what oh there's been a couple of ones they're losing to pittsburgh and some other shite teams
them tie it late and winning overtime.
Their wins. It's not pretty right now.
Find it in a way.
Find away flames. They can't control their schedule.
They can control their work
effort again, their work level against the penguins.
They won. They did win. Five in a row.
Are you what have we talked about? Are you saying they're not?
I'm saying there's a couple of ugly wins.
All right. That's all. Um, they're good.
We know their GM likes to make a deal.
And now he's got a really good team to make a deal with.
I wonder what he's eyeballing out there.
Me too.
You know?
Yeah, this is the spot where Trilliving, I think,
would wake up more excited for his job than any other time.
When you're a contender coming to the deadline,
Mr. likes to make a deal guy,
they've got a bit of cap wiggle.
They're not huge, glaring, desperate needs so much as tweaks.
He can really take a couple of cuts here.
I'm here for it.
Yeah, hell yeah.
He's not a boring gym.
Yeah, I'm here for it.
I thought we're going somewhere.
I don't think so.
I like we're here.
Well, reached out.
to a couple guys. It's going to be hard to nail down apparently
for our proposed
trade deadline show on Friday.
There's a lot of people that are actually working real trade deadline
shows. I heard that. Not
stupid ones. I don't know anyone that is.
What are the odds we just
realize that nothing's going to happen for Flames and say, just watch
Frank show and do a normal show?
No, I think, no. Again,
what it is, is
we're going to let everybody else do their shows.
Right. And we're going to do pizza.
beer yes okay opposite george opposite george i was they we're going to tell you who didn't get traded yeah
you know who didn't get traded now ryan let's go to the non trade desk what have you got yeah
jack hughes still a new jersey devil her second mcginon still in colorado dean and they got a big
roadie coming up here really interesting the abs hanging on to mckinan thank you jack jack over at the
the uh the reaction you'll give us the uh let's go to the what is it trade center is that where dregs works
The track's got a text just came across.
It just came in.
Says here.
Yeah.
Connor Bedard, despite
they are selling in Chicago,
Badard staying with the Blackhawks.
Dean, I have to interrupt you.
We do have some breaking news.
Hearing the Calgary flames are going to hold tight with Dustin Wolf.
All right.
Thank you.
Thank you, Ryan.
Back to you, Dean.
That's,
you like that one.
And I'm going to eat.
Yes.
Yes.
But already, we have to do one because we have
Tauntan meats already on board
as a big sponsor today. It's meat day.
I am meat sweat.
Craig Keller, I mean, he's, I don't know,
really worried, concerned.
He's kind of, he's,
it was he threatened me last week.
Did he? He threatened me with, you're going to have
the worst meat sweats of your life.
Yes. I'm okay with that. That's a tradeoff
I'm willing to make.
I got nothing to do. He says, I have an amazing
idea. How many in studio? I said,
12. We actually just started
talking about it.
12, 12 people.
He says,
La deco,
I have an amazing idea.
Oh,
you'll see something we've never sent before
and get ready for the meat sweats.
All right.
I was going to make a request.
Greg's got us.
I don't need,
shut your mouth,
pender.
And I have a feeling like origin might be on board
to be a sponsor of our coverage.
We should get them into talk hawk.
Yeah.
That stack of 15 flats is down to suddenly three or four.
We might need to connect with them again.
Yeah, I see that's kind of a thing.
Where's that cool?
Yeah, Red just appeared in the full cooler.
I was looking forward to some of those Caesars too, you dingo.
Hey, Tim Hortons.
Canada, your favorite contest is back.
Roll up to win back at Tim Hortons.
That means you could win millions of amazing prizes with just the swipe of a thumb.
Just like that.
Can you roll up the rim?
We did yesterday.
My daughter is, do you know it's back?
He's yelling at me.
So what do you do?
Do you have to ask for the cup?
pretty, no, the cup I got,
my brother wanted a donut,
into my Yette. Your brother,
what? Want a donut? Ad boy.
And she's like, it's back. Like, you can roll it up.
Sweetie. It's not how it works
anymore. It's on an app. This is, like,
that's why it says, well, to win.
Dad, like,
my friend had one, and they rolled, well,
we're getting a coffee. I'm going to
as you do on your way to a ringette game,
your kids sports game on a Sunday morning.
That's right. So I put it in the old yete.
She took the cup. Look.
You know, it said, please try again or whatever.
It was not a winner.
So in theory, you could get one rip on the app and another on the cup of the same coffee.
That's unbelievable.
That's not what we're saying.
Holy.
Imagine turning your routine Tim's run into an unforgettable vacation with sell-off vacations.
So 1,000 rocket 10 cash prize and all new, all-electric 2025 Volkswagen ID Buzz.
Even the simple joy of winning a free coffee or donut can make anyone's day.
You have until March 23rd.
Open up that Tim's app and get rolling.
This is our game, Canada.
So don't let this chance at millions of amazing prizes pass you by.

You can get side by side could tow some Zamboony gear on your lake next to winter.
From the Bass Pro Shops.
I feel like a donut right now.
Do you?
You know, and you're not a donut guy.
Sour cream like Jackson.
For real?
Would we get the donut or timbits first?
What do we?
I was wondering like how many timbits is a donut.
I think we're going to need pie.
Over under,
five and a half?
Under.
What about the long?
Probably close though.
Is that the one point two?
I guess they stick to the five and a half.
I'll test it.
So you think of the long johns same size of the donut?
I don't know.
If it's about that big.
And it feels, well,
I guess.
Because it is bigger.
Also, I feel like if you get your honey dip and maybe like your sour cream,
just the size, obviously not as compressed and compact,
but the size is going to take up the surface area.
That's a tough question.
And it feels like there's only one way to find out.
See it, Tim's.
Time for the Pinda Report, a presentation of Village Honda.
I went to their website, which is VillageHonda.com, and you know what they're doing?
They are looking to buy your vehicle again.
Really?
Because I was going to say selling cars.
especially buying cars.
Yeah, they're,
they're happy to sell.
But even if you don't buy a vehicle at Village Honda,
they're looking to load up on pre-owned.
Nice.
You'll get your cash within 24 hours,
free appraisal.
If you're taking your,
if you're going to,
you're going to trade it in at another,
at another dealership.
Well, before you do that,
you might get more value here in,
in the cash purchase price from Village,
then go,
you want to go and do that.
You're free to do that.
If you're turning the lease in,
don't do it before you go to Village.
Free appraisal.
They want your vehicles.
They've got the money.
They're putting their money where the both is.
Yeah.
Get the appraisal process started.
You can go right online.
You'll say it's a big banner right when you go to the website.
Click on it, put your info in there, and they will take care of the rest.
It is easy and it might save you and make you a lot of dough.
It's village on.
You also have your dealership for life at that point.
You would.
Probably, right?
You probably have to treat it really well.
I'm going to have to come back here.
That's right.
Flames, a lot of games.
Boy, three and four days, if my math is correct.
The latest yesterday's effort in Carolina, which was excellent, the efforts, just the,
the measuring stick was quite tall.
Yeah, offensively, they're in one, boys.
Dustin Wolf, Dregs teamed overtime loss.
I do agree with that headline from your boy, Flash.
Dog in the photo or cat?
It's been now one goal in the last three games for the Calgary Flames.
four so far on this four game road trip.
They've allowed 11.
Their power plays clicking at 9% on the roadie.
They've scored three goals at even strength
versus allowing nine.
The one saving grace, their penalty kill
clicking at around 87 and
gross.
Not a great confidence meter
road trip.
It's a gauntlet.
It's a crushing defeat.
Jeez, that hurts. Even though that's the one where they got the point.
Yeah.
It does.
Yeah.
It did.
In fairness, you could probably put crush on either of those other two.
I was listening to the radio and going into yesterday's game.
They were discussing that after the last two defeats,
clearly the line juggling and the changes,
they're going to be shot out of a cannon.
That cannon saw one shot in the first period versus 12 loud.
Scoring chances were many to not.
No, it's probably you,
hey, those are facts.
Those things were said.
They had one shot on net in the first period.
From a, like a scoring chance?
Not a great angle.
I was doing the Florida game.
At one point, the shots were 36 to 9.
That's a 4 to 1 margin.
Good two.
Ratio of shots or just the number of shots.
I don't know how fearful opponents are about game planning for the flames right now
with essentially one line that might score and three that aren't threatening to score at all.
I think you know how that.
Which line do you want to play against?
Not the back line, you know, the Frost line?
You want the Rooney line?
Don't care.
I'm good.
Whatever you want to do, coach.
Now there is this one line with Conjure.
Yeah.
Look, they're better than this.
They're better than this.
They are.
And maybe tomorrow it's getting back.
The Flames hockey.
To the me and getting back to where they should.
Yeah, they're due some puck luck, I suppose.
The other thing is they're, they just play three of the best teams in the league.
Right.
You could argue for it.
But I think the last three especially, those are battle.
hard in playoff contenders.
Well, the nice thing about it is we told you at the end of this,
like Friday we'll have a clarity.
We'll have it all figured out.
Yeah, and they're in the playoffs.
Clarity.
Clearly, playoff team.
Yep.
The good news, they are four points on the table these next two games.
How in the F does it feel like they've lost forward into the playoffs?
It did feel that way.
Like, what if I told you, they scored one goal in three games and got one loser
point in there?
I'm like, ooh, they're probably selling now.
No, they're in a playoffs.
Yeah, they actually leapfrog Vancouver.
Geez, how's that possible?
Wow.
Come on, Utah.
Get it going, you idiots.
Yes, the Utes.
And the blues.
Ah, the blues are coming.
Jack likes the blues.
It seems to the blues for terror.
Okay, so this is trade week.
Trade rumors abound.
That means insiders talking about it.
Pike bomb, Pike bomb.
It's a Pike bomb.
Pike bomb, baby, me.
That's not a Pike bomb.
Yeah, I was wondering about that.
Pike, what are you trying?
Pike was listening to Elliot Friedman.
Friedman bomb.
It's a fridge bomb.
And again, lots of things going to be talked about this time of year.
Things that are talked about don't all come to fruition.
I think they're trying to find a place for Miramanoff.
Now, I know a great place for them.
It's called the Wranglers or the press box.
But I think they're looking for a place in the NHL from to play.
And you kind of feel for Muramadov.
He's never really had a crack at the right side of the third pair because Ball has been so
damn good in there all year.
I don't really feel for him.
Or you cannot feel for him too, which is fine.
He's been given tons.
He had a lot of runway in the fall.
He got a lot of weaker exposure, which is good and bad.
It means you're playing next to a very good defenseman,
and it's also way more than you should be chewing up.
And so is there a team that could use some depth on the right side?
I'm not expecting a windfall.
He is absolute depth.
He's a number seven on the right.
Eighth depth?
Like, oh my God, we have to.
to play him depth.
Like, let's say you're carrying seven
defensive men of four or lefties.
He's depth on the right.
He's your eight.
Hanley's a guy that's been mentioned as well.
I've actually like Joel, Joe Hanley.
I agree.
He's been battling.
And that's a guy where you look at what he's making
and you look at his age and you look at teams
and say, is this guy better than if we run into two injuries
in the playoffs? If you're going to make a long run,
you're probably well in the blue line.
Who's the guy on the cheap we can bring in that can give us
15 good minutes.
But that would be like the for Bort
Flames deals?
Sure.
Fansonberg.
Yeah.
Oscar Fantenberg.
A fourth rounder for a depth defenseman.
Maybe
a caffeine-free
Fantinberg.
Yeah.
Other news.
Oh, look at this.
The flames are buyers.
This being reported.
Pike bomb.
It's a Frank Sarah Valley
retweet bomb.
Why is it?
Because I don't know who
Anthony DeMarco is.
I'm learning, but Frank retweeted this young man.
He does some stuff at Daily Face Off and at a sports talk radio station.
We shall not mention in Canada.
But it sounds like the flames have been reaching out to talk about Brandon Carlo,
who is a very interesting player for a lot of reasons.
Team has yet to dive into details with Calgary is interested.
There's the card.
If you like the nerd stuff or not, what it will tell you is a very good penalty killer.
He plays some tough minutes.
He doesn't get to play with a lot of good players.
And not a lot good offensive is happening on the ice when he's.
there. He makes 4.1 for another
two years beyond this year, and he actually
just turned 28. So
why would that work? Is a right
shot defenseman?
I liked him when he played with Chara.
I don't like him when he's playing with
Zedorov. I'll add that. And that's who
he's playing with now. Pike
summed it up here, 28.
It's probably appropriate
this time, actually. He's under contract
for next year and the year after
and a no trade 10
teamer. Wow.
you know who's on that list
Winnipeg
Keep going
West
yeah
South
Red deer
sea bass
sea bass
Air Dray
Calgary on Carlos
no trade list
come on
let us know
let us know
now
I'll say this
like if you were going to say
we've got Wolf
we're not going to be
a sexy offensive club
but we are going to be
a team that competes
based on defensive play and structure.
Brandon Carlo's a nice guy at.
He's a good defensive defenseman
when he's played with better players.
He's been excellent.
And McKenzie Weger, albeit a right shot defenseman,
has played most of his career on the left
playing with A, Aaron Ekblad,
and B, his first two years in Calgary
with Tannavin and Rastres Anderson on the right side.
This is a recipe for disaster.
It really could be.
So this is a spot where it's like,
oh, that sounds like a great guy to add.
And you're like, wait, you have to give up assets for this.
Well, and just painful hockey to watch.
Yeah, we're not that good.
In the era of high speed, high octane.
But our goalie's good and we got some.
We're going to have shot through the freight goal.
And these picks that you got to build the future, you'll spend one to get this guy who will be gone.
And we'll take this prospect and that pick and that young guy there too.
And then we'll give you Carlo.
Too much check.
And again, lots of talks about Connie's doing his job figuring out what the price of guys is.
I would put the likelihood of this happening at low.
Feels low.
Yes.
thank you.
So like,
where would Brandon Carlo be more desired?
Calgary or like you said,
Dallas is the other thing,
right?
Because you can say,
hey,
look,
they're good players.
There's term left.
It's team friendly in the sense that,
yeah,
he's a top for guy making 4.1.
How would you open a contender for this guy?
Why?
If it's Mason Lurai,
young defenseman.
Yeah.
Okay.
And if Dallas was much better,
maybe they would move a lower right,
but they're not good.
And I think they're keeping the low rise
and they're moving the,
Yeah, yeah.
Feels that way.
So it's interesting.
Wildcard standards,
we'll show you them again.
Flames are actually in one here,
despite scoring just one goal in their last three games.
They somehow stole a point.
Well done, fellas.
Don't mean that sarcastically.
It's a gauntlet run.
Okay,
they have one more regulation win in Vancouver.
That's the tie break. Blues are coming.
One point back, but the games played aren't helping.
Utah two points back.
They should have beat St. Louis in St. Louis.
Well, when do they play that?
Must wins?
God.
Damn it.
Two games set.
To be fair, any two games this year they lost that they won.
We put them in a very different spot, but the blue ones.
Just one win.
They feel like proverbial eight-pointer, doesn't it?
Oh, my God.
Nobody wants to listen.
People listen, but they don't hear.
I don't know why they don't listen.
I'll say that much.
Now, here's the thing we talked about, too, though.
While the flames are 16th in the NHL, suddenly two points from a top 10 pick.
That's where Utah is.
Shitt burger spot to be.
16th.
You can do it.
Dustin, you were late for practice.
You're going to have to sit this one tonight.
I know some boys in blue.
I got this.
You put the sting on?
I got this.
You got to get that extension done.
I'm going to have them pulled over on the way to the game.
The registrations rock.
Where's your sticker on the license plate?
Or if he stopped like Dion stops for a Starbucks, leaves the car running.
I'll still.
You'll stop.
deal it.
Did he lose a car that way?
I'll talk to noodles, figure out how to get it done.
Yeah, he was on his way to the rink.
Stop for his starbees.
Walked out and watched his car.
He came out and the vehicle was gone.
He was watching it drive away.
Yeah, he watched it drive away.
I was actually, oddly enough, I was in that area when he came into the rink that night.
Oh, boy.
Rattled.
He's going to say bewildered.
Late to get to the game.
And just had his car.
Was Daryl the coach?
Please tell me Daryl's the coach.
I think so now.
Might have been the different side.
Yeah,
it wouldn't have been the coach,
right?
No, that's true,
because he came in and Daryl
moved upstairs by then.
It might have been Brent,
if anyone.
Didn't you have one where?
He won't,
no,
because Daryl was done after.
Play fair.
He did the one year.
Did he come back for after?
He did one year?
Play fair out there.
Was he straight upstairs?
No,
you're right.
He was straight upstairs,
but.
So Jimmy was coached and we lost to Anheim?
Yeah.
That one sucked.
Yeah.
He was crushed.
Ryan,
So the question is,
We should call Jim and see if he remembers.
What?
Remember that year after the lockout when you guys
had that great home record and then lost in the worst game seven maybe of all time?
Yeah, that's a bad one.
Woof.
Sorry, Ryan, back to you.
So can the flames make the playoffs?
Well, our good friends at Bet365, in fact, you can go ahead and look at the odds.
Let's look.
Look at it last week.
And after scoring one goal in three games, those odds did get better.
Plus 320 now, despite being in a playoff spot on March 3rd to make said playoffs.
So the odds getting better.
If you want to bet on them getting in, you'll make more.
They think that the chances are slimmer now.
And the books are saying less likely they'll get in.
Because again, one out of a possible six points, that ain't three, four, five or six.
Yeah, but it looks like it's them or the Canucks there on this.
I wish they had a.
Well, there are some other teams who are not showing because St.
Louis and Utah aren't on that screen.
But those would be the two teams chasing.
Will they finish in the bottom 10?
I wish 365 had.
one of those.
I don't know why they would, but
couldn't make a request.
Good friends there.
Seth Jones trade happened. We showed you the deal.
We'll show you how they're able to do it.
Where do they get all this cap space from?
Well, you remember that
young, uh, that young,
aggressive
cocky player, Matthew Kachukh,
the American played in the OHL
for the photographer. There he is. Oh, yeah.
Extended period of time. We hope to get him back for the playoffs.
Can I ask a question? Let me just
finish the quote because that's the start of it.
And then he goes,
is that Zito?
Really?
That was Bill Zino.
Wow.
I've never heard of do that even after the wind.
Very diabolical.
Yeah.
What were you going to say?
My question is,
Four Nations was played.
Yeah.
The guy that went on the IR there.
Intured up.
Suited up for that game.
Yeah.
If you're an American,
a guy that you've revered,
probably he's, right,
like the game before.
Oh, my God.
Look at this.
do you squint a little bit?
I mean, I'm not the first person to bring this up.
Is a Panthers fan or who are you?
No, I'm saying if you're a team USA fan going into a must win,
one and done against team Canada,
and you haven't played or stepped on the ice since.
Yeah, why were you dressed?
Should you take it?
Kyle Conner sitting in the press box.
Jack, where are we on Mike Sullivan?
Is he the greatest coach of all time or is he back on the Mars mission?
Yeah, back on that mission.
Oh, God.
I can't believe.
Things happen fast, guys.
Well, things happen fast.
You don't just go from coaching NHL to being an astronaut.
That's not easy.
We got more trades.
Ryan Lindgren is heading to Colorado.
Actually, we have something else before that.
I think we do.
Charlie Lingren.
Oh, we got two Lindgren.
Chuck.
Brothers.
Really?
Yep.
Come on.
Truth.
Another goofy goalie.
Look at this.
Catch him with his right hand.
What a weirdo.
Three years, nine million bucks.
They keep the weirdo tandem together.
Him and Logan Thompson.
I got a right-hand goal.
Does Charlie Lindgren good?
he was great last year.
Beat out Kemper.
Okay, so just bear with me.
Who did Vancouver just sign?
They signed Kevin Lankan.
So how much?
4.5 times 5.
Yeah, if I had to pick one to win a game today,
I'm probably picking Lindgren.
They might be buying some sort of an upside
in the long term with Lankan,
but you're right.
But if he'd have signed this.
That's a nice number.
That deal would have made more sense for Lankin
right now that you mentioned that.
Isn't that, right?
Like, isn't that if they, if they had come out and said, yeah, we signed Lankinen to three years, nine.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Yeah.
I see what you're doing.
Good time.
Good idea.
Thomas was 5.85 plus the three.
It's a tidy little number for your net.
It really is.
If it works.
Elite net minding for the next three years for under 10 million, that's going to be a good thing for you.
So Kevin Lankinen is 29.
I don't think Lennon is going to be much older.
Is it all?
You're doing a comparison?
I just want to see the age difference because that would be one thing.
Well, you, I think you kind of broached because you brought up Lankinen
comparing maybe the contracts and stuff.
So maybe it's a good.
Lingerd's two years older at 31, but I, yeah, I'm kind of with you.
That deal makes a lot more sense to me than Lankinen one.
My eyebrows were raised, Dean.
Yeah, Lincoln.
Did you know Kevin Lankton did not have a job on September 1st?
Did you know, hey, did you know?
I spread this week that your buddy, Elias Pederson.
has one shot or less in each of his last nine hockey games.
How many games?
Nine.
Bring them back.
He'll fit right in with our high flying offense.
J.T. Miller, six goals, six assists in ten games for the Rangers.
Good.
How's Rick Tock and feel about that?
I'm sure he picked Elias over JT knowing the way he plays.
Well, and Quinn Hughes got injured again.
I don't know if it's coming up with the Pinda report.
It's a day.
Didn't play last nine minutes of the game.
That's a goosh.
Nine.
Yeah.
More trades get to him.
Let's do it.
We need to trade.
Come on, Jack.
Make a trade.
There's Ryan, not Charlie Lindgren.
I don't know the handedness of Ryan in terms of what he catches.
He doesn't say, hey.
But he's a defenseman.
Yes, he is.
Jimmy V.C.
And the rights to Hank Kemp.
Anytime you can get a good old Hank, you take him.
Hank Kemp.
Man, I had a good Hank.
Kempf on the weekend.
Had to run, get a tissue
right away. That was close.
Hey, Kemp!
They'll get his rights. He's playing college, I believe.
Yussa Parson goes the other way. He hasn't quite
been a great fit there, the former National Predator.
And Calvin Dahan.
A couple of picks.
A couple of picks as well, second and a fourth.
And they're eating salary, I believe,
half of Lindgren's money. So what are the Rangers doing?
They're trying to get in. They're just shuffling deck seats in the Titanic.
So it is? I mean, all the guys
that they really are big and important.
that aren't playing well have no moves.
So the Rangers are kind of in one.
But they are playing better than they were.
I'd rather have Lindgren than Calvin the Hon.
Yeah, absolutely.
That's why Colorado did this.
Yeah, but why.
Yeah, but why did it?
I see why Colorado is.
Yeah, no, I agree.
Depth forward who's,
and shore up the defense a little bit.
Sorry, Calvin, maybe you're the better man, Calvin.
And Adam Fox has hurt too.
Remember that.
This is an odd deal to make it this time,
given that information.
Another trade.
Another trade.
Whoop.
Gus Nyquist.
going to St. Paul.
Loves the Pickerel.
Second rounder and there's cash retention by Nashville as well.
Hates Carrie Underwood.
Yeah.
Loves Northern Pike.
The Northern Pike.
It's a great deal for him.
She's pretty?
She just looks that way.
Yeah. That's right.
I think she is pretty though.
Real pretty.
Yeah.
The girl I went to school with sisters was the girl that she was she was
the girl that she was singing.
Oh, yeah?
Really.
I think she's a little, uh, she's hot.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah.
is my, I'm not going to say it.
Dean. Less logical, not more logical, one of those ones.
I'm not sure. Yeah. Logical, I think.
That's one, yeah. Because she's married to old Mike Fisher.
Rational or, er.
Who that F for you to judge?
Oh, geez, we start a court here.
Chuck a nerve.
Sorry, Ryan, back to you.
Thanks, Dean. Alex Ovechkin.
Not Dean's personal takes.
Another pit report, another goal for Alex Ovachkin.
He scored.
This M.F is 11 away and it's still filling the net like he's 22.
It's unbelievable.
We got to get Dino and Washington Capitol's helmet so we can wear it.
Alex Ovechkin is on pace to break Wayne Gretzky's goals record as early as April 2nd at Carolina.
How similar your be beards are.
I was just going to say, look at this.
I mean, you guys have to say, if anybody should be wearing the buck, it'll be you.
Have you guys ever been in the same room at the same time?
You could be Ovi for.
Does it dominate the Halloween?
How's your Russian?

this is the best robber in the NHL today I'm telling you
is it still so nasty
it's unreal I was not surprised
at all it was Hagel and Kachuk fighting
the preseason games of Ed Braw's
You weren't surprised Hagle was fighting
Well when in warm up
Cichuk and Hagle were chirping you're like
that's Battle Florida those guys hate each other
So you weren't surprised after Kachuk
Ryan was the one guy who saw it coming
I did not see a fight coming when the fight did happen
and you're like, of course it's
or you could just say it clearly makes sense in hindsight.
That's what I meant.
I did not try to suggest.
Okay.
It sounded like there was some forecasting going on.
No, but they did on the pregame show,
see them chirping and you're just like,
those Florida teams hate each other.
I did not expect to fight, to be clear,
but they do hate each other.
I still think it's the best rivalry in the league.
Another good one.
Islanders Rangers.
Great rivalry.
Ooh.
Pot, bad, such.
You said you're expected there was a fight?
We'll see.
Rempay's on one team.

I don't know
damn boy
you know what you remember the damn boy
of course I do yeah I didn't
sorry
you know what what
you're talking to me no
back to you Ryan back to me dude
No, I was thinking of your comparison to Coronado.
Oh, the shooter shoot guy.
This guy, if he gets the puck on his stick,
just enough time, he, good chance he's going to score.
So we mentioned that on the other show where we're like,
yeah, you know, like Coronado is probably a fine skater,
but not a great skater.
And so people got at me on the old social media.
So I went in, I went into the NHL edge data.
And he is a much better than average skater by speedburst, average speed.
I was impressed.
well and he's also maybe at that age for what he averages he may have been a better skater well better than now sure
I do they're similar assets the right shot I think your point was just in terms of the shot that's what makes him a lead
I can really shoot it guy can shoot it uh you know who could shoot it and pass it and score it and is done with this league that he's too good for
zane perak becomes first ever oh w hale defense with multiple 30 goals season
Thank God he can go to college next year.
He can't.
He signed with the flames.
Signed players cannot go to college.
Damn, boy.
And so now we really get to live the most idiotic rule in all of hockey.
The rule where you're not allowed to graduate from a league you're too good for,
despite it being good for the NHL team that he signed by and the player who needs a challenge in development.
That is a big challenge.
Is if you sign an NHL contract.
You're deemed a professional.
You're not an amateur.
I thought.
now in fairness you'll be 20 make the NHL and start your career it's his 19 year old season and he will not be allowed to play more than 10 NHL games without staying up for the full year and cannot be sent to the American league it's not ideal the HL be a great spot for him next year and then you can bring him up when the time's right back to the O is the worst spot for him
on pace for about 110 points credible player what about Europe you're up a good spot you can loan him you could
You could loan them to a team in Europe.
Loam?
Loan.
Loam, great town, just outside of Oslo, I think.
And known for that incredible topsoil?
Yeah.
Just really fertile grass you've ever seen.
Unbelievable.
Yeah.
Uncle of mine had a in-ground sprinkler company over there.
And over fist.
Yeah.
Good for him.
Now, because Austin Matthews did that, right?
Austin was not drafted yet.
And Austin had a late birthday.
So he was drafted as an 18-year-old of 70s.
Austin played two years NGDP.
And then went to Europe.
It is 18-year-old season.
He played in Swiss A,
which is a really unique set of circumstances
because he was actually 18 at the time of it.
So he was not playing as a minor foreigner.
He was an adult playing in Switzerland.
There was a lot of weird circumstances
that allowed that to happen.
He did not go to Everett,
who I believe held his rights in the Western League.
You know what?
Conny's got, he's on it.
Connie'll know what to do.
I have confidence that they'll know what to do with Perk.
This is just, it's too much.
I can't.
I mean, look how you can't take my GM head off.
Look how your hat's sitting on your head.
I know that's the GM have.
You look, he shoveled.
Hey.
How's the tread deadline going?
Visit in Big D.
Stop in at the Bruce.
Have yourself a steak.
Oh, this trade deadline's killing me.
I don't even know what to hell.
What's the guy supposed to get for two million box retention on a two-year deal while
eating up a retention slot.
This has to be our Friday.
Is this our show?
Yes, Friday.
We have to have a tilt.
We'll have to have our GM hats.
So we can analyze the trades.
But without our GM hats on how are we really
equipment to do it?
Just shudder, yeah.
Just eat.
Yeah.
I'm talking about trades.
Okay.
Another show for that.
Sorry, Ryan.
Deal.
So do you eat this.
They're trying some new rules in spring training.
Easy.
Get a sip, would you?
Cut us, Mike.
So good.
I'm good.
Nope.
Fox News.
Just cut the mics.
You would recall in the minors, you've been allowed to challenge balls and strikes.
Oh, yeah.
I loved it.
When I was in Buffalo last year, they were unbelievable.
And it happens quick.
It's not like the NHL where they're going to spend eight minutes being idiots watching NFL football at World Control in Toronto and they get back to you later when the game's over.
Listen to how quick this happens and also fun little interaction as the umpires mic dapser.
Everyone knows what's going on.
Good.
ball just misses Brett Sullivan
going to challenge.
Challenging call.
Brett has been expert at
the ABS system.
The call is surprisingly
correct.
He dunks
out himself. I'll tell you
I was at.
We told you. Mike Malinski, one of our
That's Mike Malinski, the Empire. Apparently got a great sense of humor.
I do believe that. That's awesome.
It was amazing, though, when I was
at one of those ball games.
with the Jay's farm team in Buffalo,
how often the batters would check it?
Ops were 95% right?
Really? That good.
Let's hear it again.
I just love that.
It's self-deprecating, which everyone enjoys.
Or Jack.
He's got to call it up.
Sorry, Jack.
Just deleted this.
He's going to go find it in the internet.
Good.
Breaking Ball just misses Brett Sullivan,
get a challenge.
Brett has been expert at the ABS system.
them.
The call is surprisingly correct.
Oh, we told you.
Mike Milinski, one of our famous.
Oh, Michael, Michael Motors.
Oh, the old Milinski's, they've done that for ages.
They're always over the years.
Now, you know, Rett's an alpinist, right?
He's a mountaineer.
He's an alpah.
Alpha, what?
You're an alpha, too, for sure.
Oh, yeah.
But you're going to be an alpha.
You were really showcasing your alpha stuff out of the ski resort this weekend.
Well, I was drunk.
You're parisiling.
You're riding.
You're riding.
cable
that's pretty good right
well you're just getting started here
because you're sponsored by Red Bull right you're really good
you're ripping through
this nice of the village
I'm going to pull in the
bar sail
we put some speed
right would you

lots of Canada of the USA
see you later boys oh that looks like fun right
there get the F away from you to
just
that's pretty nice that's pretty cool yeah
good work right you're really improving I'm
I got this sneaky spot where there's lots of snow
and I don't tell any don't tell now that's
kind of like a fishing hole you wouldn't want to tell people right it's down the lake
that way so yeah the island or by the power lines there's a there's a kind of a creek that runs
in there because you had the shoveler at the fishing hole and and i just found this video
this must have been from the fall there she is she's got the little bait there i don't take the
shuffle of fish watch this i don't know we fish this is just a terrible idea
I'm hoping this isn't Florida
A tarpon
That's
That's horrible
You could lose an arm
I'm just going to say
I have teeth,
I'm not worried about that
Why did you need the hot dog
To get the tarpon
So it wouldn't have eaten your finger
Maybe
Maybe
Oh my God that thing's
It looked like it was willing to do it if you wanted
That's fair
I didn't know what I was experimenting
But it wasn't a fish of that side
Oh, Tarpin are big.
Fishing Tarpin had it on for 45 minutes.
Florida Keys, middle of the night, for some reason,
these guys wanted to.
Yeah.
It's nice fish.
Bring it in, Dean.
Smash.
Hammerhead.
Whoa.
Gone.
Really.
Take me to shore.
Yeah.
So probably what happens.
You get a hook in there, a little blood.
And the shark's like, thank you.
There's dinner.
Midnight snack.
Saw this video guys were sturgeon.
Oh, yeah.
It's like a whale.
It's insane.
A hundred years old.
Yeah, river.
Crazy.
Huge.
Big animals, Jack.
Huge.
Jack, we're not giving enough respect to mountain goats,
so we're here to change that today.
Look at these crazy asses.
Is this where the falls?
No.
Hope not.
Look at these guys.
You see how nimble this is?
This is Dean, eluding a hippo.
Full speed.
Very crafty.
Sure footed.
Jeez.
strong calves
killing it they're not heel planting good work yeah there's no heel
strikes here look at this all toes all the the balls of their hooves
the hooves have balls save god balls i saw this this again a video last week
like mountain goats or mountain lions with the rams or whatever the bird knocks it off
well that's even worse have you seen those why is it worse i was i didn't show you that i was showing you
how nimble.
The big kind of whatever comes in.
We need some of the goes guys.
Comes in, tickles him in the ribs.
Hey, you.
Tehe.
Don't don't.
I'm going to fall.
Oh,
and then he falls all the way down.
Oh,
no.
What was that egg that fell off the wall?
Humpty dumpy.
Yeah.
They weren't putting this one back together again.
All the Kings are.
Then the bird came down and he was like, well,
since some kind of hungry.
A guy could eat.
guy could eat
don't send us goat
Greg
please I'm worried
no haggis
I do haggis
you hate it for
but I mean
you're gonna get
Bon Ton's gonna send
a bunch of meat over
it's not gonna be half fast
what's he done that he's never done before
because he's not gonna give us
I have no idea
it's only the best stuff there
go ahead
in a while I got a lot of ridicule
for the Pender report last week
so we're gonna get back to the basis
this gets a
snake video here let's go
jacks just not what we were looking for as anaconda i believe this is the shotler i believe when you're
younger no i hate things you're at here right there too so honestly if you hold it up here she might
even shoot him and grab it that's the weird we have a bunch of wild things of here and
burns and burns and uh ice the shovel out on a day where are you put him in there
How is that best?
Just put it in the footer back in.
You nailed.
How was that?
It's literally held a 15-foot anaconda
I've ever had before.
Yeah, that's right.
That's something funny to say.
No one knew where you were going with it.
That's, all right?
You have a snake joke for us?
This is terrible.
That's really bad.
Hey, let's go for a swim in Florida.
Maybe a night swim, shall we?
Yeah, Seth.
Let's go for a swim.
Come on. Get your snorke on.
That's going.
Let's go for Swift.
Oh, this music's ominous, Red.
I don't know.
It's a bad.
Oh, there's a crock eating a turtle.
Gotcha.
There's a gator, I should say.
And oh, that's just a snake.
Get out of here.
Those things aren't supposed to be there.
Oh.
An invasive species, Dean.
What are those stupid snakes in the Everglades?
There are many natural snakes, but the ones
ruining the ecosystem are like Burmese,
Kill it all.
Pets the people brought over.
Thanks, guys.
Thanks, Burns.
Yeah, it was in Vietnam for this war thing.
I came back with this pet snakes.
Next, finally, I do want to tell you this.
We're not necessarily men of the theater.
Speak for yourself.
But I, on Friday night, went to the debut of King James and have never felt more seen as a
psychotic sports fan.
It is a play about LeBron James, but yet not at all about LeBron James.
entirely about being a sports fan.
The Margatha Cohen theater is cozy and incredible.
I don't do.
The Margitha Cohen.
Marfa Cohen.
Marfa,
self-promoted.
This was unreal.
We are a sports show.
If you're a sports fan,
not often does it overlap with theater.
This is really cool.
If you have tickets to events that you'd like to give us for free,
for us to then, in turn, promote your event.
I, there's no.
Ryan.
dot pinder at free stuff.
com.
promise of promotion of something I was just thoroughly impressed.
It's just a good human.
And you know what?
It was really cool.
A quality review.
Yeah.
A show about King,
about LeBron James,
but not at all about LeBron James.
Not because it's about life, man.
How did it now is,
well,
that's your interpretation.
It was cool.
We're having some fun.
It was really cool.
Are you having to pay some royalties to,
how are you able to use the likeness in the name?
It might be sold out.
It might not.
Oh, for King James?
I don't know.
Yeah, that's clearly him.
Because I feel like if I'm in LeBron, Inc.
Yeah.
I'm curious as to what we're doing here.
So you're doing what and making how much using my life story?
What won me over?
Because Haysom is the, I believe the producer, director, whatever,
and invited me to go.
And he said, look, Stephen Brunt went to Hamilton or debuted.
You were invited.
He said, Brunt absolutely loved it.
Loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it.
But Brunt isn't a man of the arts.
He is a man of the theater.
You're an idiot.
Anyway, if that floats your boat, more information on the old Googles.
It float my boat, but I wasn't invited.
You're invited.
He'll leave tickets for you.
You'd be happy to.
It's a great, great time.
I am back to you.
Not for everyone.
It's 16 plus with strong language, not for everyone.
Why don't we go as a group?
We never do anything as a group.
That's true.
I told Dino about this.
He was like calling the Boston.
Yeah, who wants to go to Boston or Montreal to cover Canada, USA best.
That's a poor decision by you, by the way.
Was it?
Yes.
I was fine with it.
Oh, I think you missed out.
I think deep down, you know that that was a one-off type of scenario in your life.
And you may have had to suffer through him.
Oh, again, done.
You're done.
You know, no.
Period.
You know what I loved about it is the deciding thing with the powers that be?
We're like, yeah, but any flame's going to be on the team?
I'm like, what are you talking about?
It's Canada, USA.
It does nothing to do with the Calgary Flames.
No one is going to do.
We are a sports show.
People are cheering for Canada because we,
live in Canada.
Can he's passing us off as a sports show.
We've never mentioned.
That is wrong before.
Now again, and just because I noticed these things, Frank was at the game, the championship
game, Canada, US.
Tyler Yeremtruck, he went as well, was not at the game.
He was at a bar and establishment.
They're doing shows there.
Because you have to get accreditation to get in.
Oh, so there weren't.
So I would have gone to Boston to watch it on.
TV with Tyler in the
with him who made the right
invited at all like I wasn't even
on the list you're absolutely invited yeah
remember you you were here
and then everyone went for lunch
and then you didn't come
you're like what's this meeting going to be like
it's a lot of they said we'll be back from Best Buy
in an hour and a half no oh
the show's over okay well we're off to Best Buy
we'll see you at lunch
what that's good news
Montreal and Boston aren't fun anyway so
Anyway, back to you.
Back to you, Dean.
All right.
Been a report.
Billichonde.
Great job.
Your dealership for life.
The snakes are.
I think you should find some
Italian hockey league,
soccer.
You know what I'm seeing?
On the algorithm more,
there's this ice hockey in India
that's going crazy.
People are loving it.
Shade it because it's so hot
and they've got probably some level of refrigeration.
They play.
But it was.
Yeah.
And so it's outdoors.
Big sports.
in the hills and people are going nuts.
They love it.
It's got to make the better.
Do you like the more abstract sports?
Well, we wouldn't want to hear about that.
You know what's big?
Snakes and rabbits.
That cricket.
Huge.
Cricket.
A league that's coming over to North America was going to take over.
Oh, T20?
Yeah, Big Bash.
We almost had a guy on the show.
Would you like this?
For a sports show.
The coach of the T20 Canada national team.
Yeah, what sport is it?
Cricket.
No, thank you.
No.
It's a tough son.
T20.
Relax. What sport is that?
No, then.

Did you ever get him that bottle of whiskey?
Maybe he's just sour with you.
Probably is, man.
Three years now, four years?
That was your fault.
No, he was not.
Peated whiskey?
Is that what it was?
Wheated.
Peated.
Wheated?
Peated.
I think it was weeded.
What?
Oh.
I don't know.
Check and see if there's some trades or what do you do?
Maybe.
You know, Brandon Carlo yet or what?
Can't wait.
Two tall guys, ball and Carlo.
Yeah, because we're,
twin towers up.
I'll bet you,
it might,
they might be referred to as the twin towers.
Can you do that still?
Oh,
every time.
You kidding me?
Because I know it was a thing.
Ball and him.
You'll remember Colin Cluchet and Chris Dingman.
This is where you tell me you beat the piss out of Colin Clucche.
right you're paying attention he's not paying attention no it distracted i got an appointment in an hour
get the hell out of here is it an appointment to be the twin towers got their asses kicked by the twin
towers from saskatoon belak and mccalister come on down dingman and
and call in clucay that's right you smack you about a little you'd tell him that 365
presenting sponsor of this show of afterburner of which i will be a part of
tomorrow night.
Philly.
Philadelphia?
I watched Willie Plet.
Absolutely smash his stick
over the back of Stefan's head last night.
I was watching fights.
Oh.
Oh, it was a gooder.
Yeah, Willie Plet was no messing around.
Screw loose.
You know what, the blonde locks?
You think, I'll have maybe fine young man.
There were some mean bastards.
That's your peril.
It's crazy, man.
Bet 365, World's largest sports betting platform.
get the account open if you haven't already.
When you do, use the promo code nation.
But if you have already, I mean, you got the app.
Get it on your phone and start having a little fun.
Got a bunch of games tonight.
Yeah, I took a little snap of some games I like here.
And then if you wanted to parlay them, well, then we're really cooking.
But I've got the Montreal Kenna, Jan, staying hot against the Buffalo Sabres
and the Tampa Bay Lightning in that battle of Florida.
Again, Panthers, not sure if we'll have Jones there in time.
No, Kachuk.
Lightning looked unreal on Thursday against Calgary Flames.
So those are my picks.
You want to parlay them?
It goes to plus 311.
That's a big number.
Eight in a row for the lightning?
Is that where they're still at?
Let's take a look.
I mean, I think they're going to win that division.
It's good as Toronto's been.
That division's going to be fun.
Oh, that's good.
It's going to be a barn burner.
Let's see what it did there, Jack.
Hey, we got the super chat.
What is the super chat?
Well, during the course of the show,
if you get into the YouTube.
chat, you put some money down, we get the money to the U-S centers of Calgary.
We say, hey, because of that, because you're a good sport, we're going to take the
comment that you put in, and we're going to show it on the show.
Have you ever called anyone's sport?
Hey, sport.
Yeah.
You have?
Like a young kid maybe.
Champ.
Hey, champ.
Hey, sport.
Ryland, 499.
Three thoughts.
Klapka should be a permanent fixture on the fourth line.
Miramanov is a bust
Trade Anderson
Those are Rylin's three thoughts
Klopka when he plays well is awesome
There's just been nights you don't notice him
And you can't do that at his size
So when he's right, yes
I'm indifferent to Klapka on the fourth line permanent
All right
Miramanov is a bust
Yep
I don't know if bust is even correct
Jack did we had Jack yell
Jack's weighing in
Yeah he's a bust okay
Like is he a bus I don't know
Like when was he drafted
Exactly there has to be
expectations. What were the expectations?
Has he sucked on the flames? Yes.
Thanks, Jack. Is he a good third pair guy? We don't know.
Ask Jack for his take on Miramanov. Nails it.
Asked Jack for what he did last Thursday night.
Can't tell you. He wouldn't be able to string together sentences or words that were
coherent. He may or may not have reached out to McLeod Law
regarding some of those events. Oh, really? I think he probably was advised not to say anything.
Is that right, Jack? Have you been?
Yeah. Can you plead the fifth in Canada? That's a lot of thing we do. Here is it?
No. He's an American.
Oh, you're pleading the fifth. You. Yes.
Thank you doodle dandy.
Probably down in whitefish.
Grat and ruckus.
I think and the last one, yeah.
I think we're all in agreement.
Dean loves him, but he's coming around.
Yeah.
He's a good player.
It's the contract status.
It's been a hell of a pit.
It's been a hell of a ride.
Tough, tough year.
Great start.
Just staring people down through the glass.
Makes the four nations for Sweden.
This guy's gravy train biscuit wheels.
Can we play there really.
Steve Ocontost. Remember Chris Contos, that unbelievable playoff we had for the Kings. Unreal.
Five bucks, Stevieo. Rett! Summer of 95.
You spend any time in Bolton, Ontario?
Every time I see Andrew Manjapani, I see a young retro.
What's up with that?
Similarities with their have.
I'm not sure. Not sure.
Is it the math?
Summer of 95.
Because you're old. I was in Fargo.
Is Fargo close to Bolton?
I feel like it's not real close, no.
Geometrically speaking.
It's closer than like.
Maybe it was Todd Abbotsford or something.
Todd worn.
Yeah, probably Todd.
Maybe.
Yeah.
Could be your brother.
Thank you, Steve.
Oh, $5.
$5 from Ken.
Walker door is on waivers today.
Pinder, fix the brim on your hat.
Rhett, I agree with you only because you're the only person who shuts Pinder down.
All right.
I'm not going to allow Pender just.
to run his mouth and talk in circles.
So I'm going to pin him down to make a statement.
Come up.
What he said.
Pender fixed that brim and that hat.
Maddickley.
trim those sirens.
Walker do on waivers.
Cool.
Yeah.
Probably where he should be.
Poor Walker.
All he had to do was play a certain style of game.
He just couldn't do it.
Got a contract.
Married.
Got married.
Over the game.
do the math
cautionary tale
I'm unplugged
Till as old is time
Help me
Song is old is rhyme
Help me
Are those the super chats
That's what we got?
Yeah that's all we got
All right Jackie boy
How are you doing?
I'm doing well
Yeah
Have any stories from the weekend
Nope I'm not
I don't tell stories
You should have seen him
When he got in here today
Because there's been a thing
With internal emails
And we've had some migrations
And merging of things
And aliases and stuff
drives and spaces.
Jack was fit to be tied.
Really?
Yeah.
He was on the phone.
Say, what the H?
Where's the drive?
What's the folders?
How can we've got the...
Do you have the answers?
I do have the drive now, yeah.
I'm going to text someone, so I want answers.
Have you got those answers?
I got all the answers.
I got the drive back.
I got my email.
Nice.
Now we've got to get you guys back in the drive.
Yeah, I want to get on that drive.
The email list.
That's always in the driver's...
Don't I have a clip in the drive?
Well, let me go look.
You take a look.
It's a clip that we actually didn't run from last week, and it's a tragedy that we didn't run it.
Because it was from, when, so I say?
Thursday.
Not sure.
26th.
I'm trying to remember.
Anyway.
February.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We're into March now.
February.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But yeah, what the drive is.
Go a little inside baseball on you.
All these witty videos that you see Ryan have and all the clever stuff.
We get it.
And then we all have access to this.
We don't drive.
And we throw it in there.
And then Jack and going, and put it on the, it's a bit of a circuitous route to how things get on the show.
But that's how it's done.
It's also the unclever stuff goes there too.
It's all the same.
Yeah, just all to do anything.
And then Jack has to kind of sift through it and decide.
I can't wait to get access to this drive.
Well, I think with all with your AI and all your connections, your rounds that you do.
Yeah.
You know what?
I feel like we should be checking in daily on Rett's rounds
because it is train deadline week and Friday.
Let's see what you're hearing.
Well, what are the pro scouts
for the New Jersey Devils
is changing his flight
like this morning.
Whoa.
From the Anaheim area back to Jersey to Newark.
Changing his flight.
So was he not going to get in earlier?
Oh, to get to.
Big meetings.
Wow.
It could mean anything, really.
And there's a agency, a group of agents meeting in Chicago.
Well, and maybe this guy was in Anaheim and he's maybe, he's seen enough to make a decision on a certain player.
Well, I've seen enough.
In a good way or a bad way.
I'm sold or we want no partners.
And he's not going to deliver this through email or something hacked out drive.
Can't.
This is right.
I need.
I need to be in front of face to face to face to face to face to say to see the whites of your eyes.
Is that the saying?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Can't do with you though.
I just want to like just I want to see your eyeballs.
There are other parts of the eyes that aren't just white.
Why do you need to see the whites of the eyeballs?
Because you can put the fake.
Think.
Let's see if they're bloodshot.
See if I'm hammered.
Yeah.
Gotcha.
You're drunk again.
Interesting.
I do want to give a special shout out to a friend of the show.
All right.
And your buddy, Bert Gelling is his.
MRU Coogers in a decisive win-all game three against the U of A Golden Bears won 4-2 at FCA Blue last night.
We practiced before and stumbled in at the perfect time to watch an incredible game and a brand of hockey that I don't think gets enough love.
It was an unbelievable contest.
And the buffs.
Overtime, Calgary Cannex, Buffalo's, Vigit AAA, U-18, I don't know if it's called anymore.
Overtime, every game, best of three against the Air Force of Bisons, O T, O T, O T, O T, O T. They pull it out of the fire.
This is one of those times.
If you're a hockey fan.
So much.
You want to dig a little, I don't know if the flames are going to make the play.
Just go under the surface a little bit.
You're going to find some unbelievable environments and atmospheres for playoff hockey.
Wranglers having a monster year, I'll be at a slower second half.
Hitman have an absolute wagon.
They're on a clothing course with medicine hat at some point here.
A lot of great hockey out there.
And because MRU won, they are off to Saskatchewan to take on the Huskies next weekend.
My nephew's.
Canada West Championship.
At the rink in Saskatchewan on the weekend.
How about that?
Did you get it?
Is that part of your rounds?
Yeah.
Had a picture from there.
Saw it.
To beat the Thunderbirds.
That's big.
I can't believe we saved that right till the end.
I can't believe it's not butter.
You think that would have made the Pinder report, right?
Like a local college.
No.
There's no media associated with it.
Pictures.
Yeah.
What if they'd have gotten you free tickets?
Oh, for sure.
Slide it in.
Yeah.
Oh, you have to.
Yeah.
Come on.
I'm out of moral.
Jack, what the?
Yeah, I can't.
Hey, Jack.
This is a great example of things that when Pender sends you the shit for the drive.
You say, I can remember that day when we had all those other things?
Yes.
find some of that. Jack was too busy. He was scalping U-sports tickets again. He just lost all his money and
Kijiji. Yeah. Fleeced again. No. Jack, you don't need to buy tickets. He could just go right in the
pub and watch the window. You don't need to go on Kijiji for U-sports tickets again. So you can't
find it. I can find it just says it's empty. Like I'm in your folder empty. Yeah. And it's no.
It's not working on my phone on my home computer and right here in front of me.
I see it.
