No, look at it.
It's old, uh, yeah.
I don't know if you look spry from your vacation.
I would, I'm not.
I'm well-rested, retro, which is trouble.
What you were saying?
You look well-rested?
Like, he doesn't even have a lot of color.
I thought you'd be.
No, not certain.
Are you?
It was too hot.
We were staying, no, I'm fine.
Oh.
Um, too hot.
Good to be in the shade.
Can't be in the sun.
Really?
Oh, here.
I have buddies in Hawaii right.
now it's like 14.
It was not hot enough.
We did the, uh, the 40 degree swing yesterday.
Plus 38 to minus two.
48's hot dry heat.
Yeah, it's dry heat.
That's awesome.
Yeah, it's dry heat.
Yeah.
38 in the jungle would be like, you talk about the major showing up or the draft you had to
cover in Florida.
Don't eat it.
No, but in the desert.
Don't need it.
Don't like it.
Just sitting the shade.
Yeah.
Put a lime in your beer.
Figure it out.
I was an Indian.
It was 48.
Excuse me?
Yes, sir.
Oh.
We're going to go tour a castle team.
Nope.
Cancel.
I'm going to tour my room with its air conditioning.
We have a pool, one of those swim up pools right to the back door of our.
Oh, really?
Lovely.
A swim up.
It's a nice touch.
I'll be hanging out here.
Yeah.

They're movers and shakers, I think. That's fair to say. Yeah. We're going to see them in a couple weeks here. We're very excited. Yeah. Movers and shakers. Quakers? Not Quakers. What's a Quaker?
Is it a strange term? Strange people. Yeah, a lot to say that. No?
I think that's a big quake will come after you.
I don't need big quake.
Big quaker coming out.
The oats will be on here.
Big quake.
Are they,
do they do the butter churning and ride wagons and stuff?
They're not pissing around.
Yeah.
Oh, natural.
That's what I'm going to do this summer.
Well, natural.
Some cows with no pit stick.
Oh.
Let's go for.
You move to Vancouver?
It's a story.
Interesting start.
Interesting.
Frasier Valley.
When's hunting season start?
Oh, Jack.
Hunting.
Hunting.
If you don't, if you don't,
don't know when huttin season is, then you're not a hutter.
Huh, er.
It would be the fall.
Oh.
It's in the fall when they start mating.
The rut is on.
Some rut.
It's a few all summer.
Summer of Jack.
Yeah.
A rut and buck.
It's like Jack, it's Stampede.
That's right.
Rutting hard.
No, he hates Stampede.
He can't.
No, no.
He just hates the sticker price.
We'll figure him out this summer.
A little sticker shock.
We were discussing sticker shock.
It feels like anywhere you turn.
Really.
Coffee?
Sticker shock.
Flight?
Sticker shock.
Yeah.
Butter, meat, gasoline,
dairy.
Just the things.
Just, just all stuff.
The only thing seems to be up as commodities.
But yet.
Bodies got shit kicked.
They got like,
everything was down like 10, 15% was.
And the things you could buy at the star.
Yeah.
But yet, at some time,
I mean, still free of charge.
You're welcome.
I think it was people in Montreal that figured that one out.
Free of charge.
How?
Barn burner.
He was expensive.
Anyway, there was some of those up by three early payouts, I think, last night.
Oh, were there ever?
Did not take long.
Yeah, if you had the Aves money line,
if you had the Aves last night with Bet 365,
it took about four minutes for your bet to go through.
avalanche led 5-0 after the first period
en route to a 9-2
drubbing
may I of the Calgary Flames
how many times do they score
oh I mean it's gosh at least once today
I mean
those games happen guys
I'm just excited that's game one
I was freaking great I did like the fact that we were on
the prime talking yeah
and we said
how, you know, the one thing about the flames is.
They don't get blown out. They're going to show up
where they're at tails off. They're going to be there
through thicketh it. Yeah. Ike also cursed kale. He got hurt last
night. What? Yeah. Got hit by Klapka.
Took a couple turns and then did not return for the third. That being said,
the score. Yeah. Not before he put up three
helpers, but yes. He was in discomfort.
We're hoping that he's fine. Yes.
T's and P's to our good friend
Kail McCar
But yes, 9-2 the final
A lot of McKinnon and Natchez
And Codry
And some Parker Kelly's
And Jack Devinck
Did we miss the cadre goal?
Like we are like
Yeah
Duh
Yeah there was a lot of things
That could have been forecast
Against the former team
Yeah, he's going to score twice
The Victor Oliveson one would have paid two
His former team
Yeah
I should get punched in the face for not making that bet.
You know what?
You were pinch hitting.
I usually do the bets.
So I appreciate you stepping up when I was going.
I failed.
I dropped the ball.
Although,
what happened in Vancouver last?
Well,
in Vegas.
Yeah,
you had Vegas,
new coach,
they were going to win?
Correct.
It was a half a while.
Correct.
Did they win by two?
Vancouver was a 1-0 and 2-1.
And with an empty netter,
and Vegas 1 by 2.
Your parley hits.
Outta boy!
Hey.
Those empty nets, man.
They still count.
What?
You're a bad.
I'm telling you, empty net goals, the most underrated goal of the thing in the game.
You're something.
Thanks.
Thanks, man.
Did you use AI to figure that out or just all?
It's all my years of studying the game.
Hey.
Yeah.
Like a veteran hunter out there.
I'm a rutting way over here.
Got a feel for thing.
It is, watching it last night.
and there's 2-0, 3-0-0.
There goes Wolf. In comes Cooley.
Five-nothing. All right. Well, you do
appreciate that for a team
that is near the bottom of the league
in standings, this does not
happen very often. It does.
Vancouver, it happens all the frigging time.
Vancouver is... They get their doors blown off on a
near-nightly basis.
The most recently Saturday, I believe,
at the dome. Yeah, just there on the
rise-way place. The flames are
usually right there. They've lost by
a couple, but the efforts usually quite good.
and they battle and they get
oh, they're down by three and then
score three, a couple short-handed goals.
Hey, all of a sudden this thing's tied to three going into the third.
They find ways to make it close.
So I don't know what we,
I don't know what we saw last night.
I think you saw a team that's really effing good.
Yeah.
You saw that we just dialed in that lost their last game at home
and said enough of that,
we're going to play some hockey.
The other thing that has happened all year,
but has been with the last seven games,
has magnified more,
this team sucks on the road and this team's really good at home.
Yeah, and I don't understand that.
That doesn't make, I, I dot disagreeing with the statement,
but it doesn't make sense in my head how.
Yeah, it's confusing.
Because obviously there's change in coaching, but it's not that much.
No, like they're twice as good at home.
They're a 602 team at home.
And they are a 303 team on the road.
That's worse than the Canucks.
Like when they go on the road.
At home, man.
Apparently.
New era.
Like sure everybody's feeling good about themselves.
like that.
But like to see them go on a heater at home and everyone freak out, it's natural.
They're like they still got a six game road trip.
They've been awful on the road.
I don't know what the odds would be or the numbers would be.
Half those teams that they beat over the last played in Edmonton the night before
and they were more excited to play in Edmonton and have a way better effort.
We saw a lot of battles.
In the cultural capital than they did.
There's that to when you're, if it's a back-to-back in Alberta and you see the backup in
Emminton sees the starter. It's not everything. It doesn't explain all the results, but there's a reason that Vasselovsky's the starter and
Eunice Johansson makes near league minimum and has a job in the NHL. He has a backup. Like, he's not good.
But I don't think that it was just bad effort or being on the road that ended up costing the 9-2 loss last night.
I think it has a lot to do with that upper end talent, zoom-zuming around the ice.
Yeah. We talked about the cadre fit, too. Like, it seems like they're,
that's sorted better than it was out of the gate.
Their power play was the worst than the NHL Dino.
I think three weeks ago you brought that up.
It's certainly not that anymore.
It's jumped up the last couple weeks for sure.
Which felt inevitable.
And you add some new pieces.
Where does Cadry slide in here?
What are we doing?
Landisog is now back.
And Landisgog wrote.
Yeah, Leckman came back a couple games ago.
And Landiscag, yeah, he's, it's weird with him.
They're better with them.
You just feel like it was, oh, it's nice that he's,
back.
It's good to have them in the room.
But he does change things for them.
He's a hawks.
He's the captain.
He's,
and we talked about it.
I think he does take some stuff off of Nathan's plate.
Kinnom has to,
there's less he yet needs to worry about
that suddenly just kind of gets thrust
upon him when Landiscag isn't around.
Whether it's media,
whether it's just on ice shit,
room stuff, that sort of thing.
And then we've also watched this Colorado team
just sort of, like what, they have
three or four regulation losses into January?
Yeah.
At some point, you're like, can we get to the,
in playoffs here?
And now you're in that final, okay, two weeks and change in the regular season.
We got to crank it up, fellas.
They weren't going to finish with the worst power play and playing 500 hockey.
They're going to get rolling here.
They know what's up.
All you tank people.
Chee.
Where to go?
Now you're pumped again.
Well, old Clay Coleman was talking about how he was happy to kind of stick it to team team.
Stick it to these team tank people.
Yeah, he's really sticking it to us.
What place are we in there, do?
Touche.
30.
Oh, okay.
It's right as thick of 20.
Flames 10 showed us.
10, 23 and 3 on the road.
303 points.
They have three fewer wins than St. Louis and Vancouver.
Who are the next?
Oh.
Goals, like goals?
The Jets have 91.
Vancouver has 91.
The Flames, of course, 78.
Road.
Yeah, and you can start talking about matchups
and how when Huska can get backlin out against
two he wants and, you know, get the soft matchups through his skill.
Sure, but it did the gap is way too big for it to explain all that.
Like they're, they're literally a playoff team at home and the worst team in the
on the road like that that's a huge gap.
It's okay though, guys.
I'm fine with it.
They got five left on the road here.
I'm having Greek ribs tonight.
I'm pumped.
I'm just, you know, Florida and Vegas boys.
What makes them Greek as opposed to just having ribs?
Seasoning.
Okay.
Like the, but it's the.
oregano, lemony kind of garlic.
Mediterranean style.
Sounds delicious.
Greek.
Delicious. It's going to be good.
I'm not sure it even.
Jack, you can come over.
With us or your family?
Shoveler miss you, Jack.
Crowfoot Dodge.
20 Crowfoot rise in the Northwest.
New ownership, new energy.
Same great Northwest location.
Crowfoot cries, Dodge. Jeep Ram, now part of the Capitol Automotive Group.
Oh, the focus is.
simple, making buying, a vehicle easy and actually enjoyable.
Big selection of trucks, SUVs, everything in between, plus a team that treats you like a neighbor,
not a number.
Whether you're upgrading your ride or just browsing around before a puck drop, crowfoot
is building something fresh and worth checking out.
There's no drama, no run around, just solid vehicles and solid people.
Crowfoot Dodge, 20 crowfoot rise in the northwest.
Just up over there.
I'm giggling because I see the Jeep there, about two weeks ago.
I go, okay, shoveler wants a Jeep.
Shevler wants a Jeep.
So I'm like, okay, I'll get the shoveler a Jeep.
Here's what I'm going to do because I'm a crazy person.
Yes.
I'm going to get by the Jeep.
And then I'm going to bribe the kids hockey team with the MVP.
If you guys go to the Tulles Cup and win, I'm giving one of you.
You're going to pull out of the lottery.
You're going to get the Jeep for a month.
Real.
Yeah, you're crazy.
Then they went and afted up.
Then they lost.
No jeeps for them.
No jeeps for them.
No jeeps for you.
Low risk.
What about the shovel?
Jeep's for her?
Ah, she's been running her mouth a little too much.
Okay.
Show some discipline.
Yeah.
Show some discipline.
Well, you.
Respect your elders, right?
That's right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So did we, uh, I, I meant to, this is on me.
I meant to find out what the, uh, the plan was.
Because there's a couple days.
They don't get many couple days off these flames.
James. You know, do you jet out? Do you want to get to Vegas in a hurry?
I think you want to get to Vegas for sure. You want to get to Vegas in a hurry.
You floor it last night?
There was an early game. And from Colorado to Vegas shouldn't be too far. I would imagine.
How early do they close in Vegas? It was 11 o'clock last point?
Yeah, something like that. 5 a.m. What is he talked about it yesterday. The team, they come off this is 5-1-1. They've been playing great to go into Denver.
Let's get to Vegas boys. You know what? You got it. Here's a day off. Go get it.
You know, as long as they don't get blown out in him.
by the avalanche, then that's kind of a tough message to send where you get your
ass handed to you and then you get a day off to go and rip it out.
Let's get reward them.
So I, uh, they have one practice ahead of, I guess that would probably be.
Do you just throw the whole thing in the bin from last night?
Do you just this?
I would, I would, I would caution Huska on pushing because I don't think that with seven or
eight games left.
How many out are they?
How many games do we have left?
Right.
We can do this.
If you're going to discipline the boys for a shitty showing,
just be careful.
Watch yourself, Cassidy.
I think he's aware.
I think he's aware.
But it was,
I mean,
it was the best team in the league,
against one of the worst,
and that whole thing.
The worst on the road.
But they were underwater.
The abs had them.
It's not like they just were scoring and fluky.
It's hard to brag about how good white cloud
a lot of look.
Yeah, it was like Bristavich,
Mauna,
white cloud, the whole group caved
in your color.
Braden Bahaul's like,
I get to play this one.
Thanks.
Like this one I get to play.
Okay, great.
They,
they had their hands full
with the league's best
last night.
It's the first time
that we've really kind of,
because all the good news stories,
they remain true.
The pace of play,
but it was,
yeah,
the pace of play
that Colorado plays with
30% higher
than the flames
are capable of.
And that's maybe cheeky and mean.
But it's the truth.
Colorado is playing
at a 30% higher pace of play.
I think after watching that.
Now maybe the flames are a little,
but I do 25% faster,
more effective.
They're moving it.
It was like,
they come at you and it's like,
holy shit,
holy shit, back up.
Back back, back.
Well, on their best three players.
like Natchez, McCar, McKinnon, who can skate with those guys?
Like, very few in the league, period.
Like, this is a team built on speed.
And, you know, they didn't really follow that with Nick Waugh,
but that's center depth.
Cadry isn't necessarily slow.
But, I mean, their best players all fly.
And when you close your eyes and think of the avalanche,
it's McKinnon wheeling the zone and McCar rushing the puck
and NACIS operating at full velocity.
Like, that's what makes this team special is skill and speed.
Yes.
It's skills.
And that's why you need to be young here.
Full speed and full,
like it's,
it's impressive.
It's one of the reasons
Vegas has struggled this year.
Suddenly that roster
outside of a few guys is older and slower.
Come on,
torts.
I don't know if he can make them faster,
but they could probably work a little harder.
A little more nasty.
Interesting watching NACIS again last night.
And immediately I went back to thinking of the Olympics.
How didn't he score in that?
Remember he had that breakaways?
How didn't he?
Because he seems like he just scores all the time.
Big, fast, strong.
35 goals, 92 points in 70 games.
92, hey?
How do the, how do I mean,
you move on from Rantaninan?
There's going to be a dip.
You don't, you don't,
this Rantinan's awesome.
Ratan is a superstar contract.
Well, like Toronto.
Well, Marner's going to have to leave.
You know, this can't replace them.
What are you going to do?
They replaced.
Yeah.
Miko Rantan.
maybe a better fit.
Like, I don't know.
We'll find out.
Faster more points.
I think Ranton in the seven-game series, you saw it last year against the abs.
Like, he's still that ox.
But if you thought it was going to be 60 cents on the dollar, you're wrong.
It's incredible.
It's an incredible.
For cheap.
For like what, a million and a half less a year?
What is he around?
10 and a half.
And nobody was.
Well, Randan was asking for like 14 with Colorado.
And then they thought negotiations were still going and then it's traded.
And then he ends up signing for 12.
So the gap wasn't huge at the end of the day.
But from what they were asking Colorado to what they paid,
NACIS is a big gap.
3.5 million.
NACUS 11 and a half kids in the next year.
So not as big as well.
He's making 6.5 million.
That's what I was thinking about.
I'm like,
he's only,
yeah,
he's off price.
But he got the raise and.
Oh,
he got a raise because he gets you 100 points and is highly impactful.
Like you brought up Vegas two minutes ago.
Who would you rather have him or murder?
Oh, you'd rather have.
Well, yeah.
This season,
it's hard to not say NACIS,
Last year when Martin put up 100, like it did ever, like,
I just right now,
I like for it to handle that.
Like,
it's not even a slight against Marter.
It's just if you're spending your money,
I'll take the bigger,
faster guy.
It'd be wild to see Marner play with the Kennan.
Yeah,
there is that,
the whole who are you playing with.
Yeah.
But again,
and we can move on,
but just watching.
That's what Gold has been saying behind the scenes.
He said,
if I had some of the players.
That's right,
yeah.
But it was just wild to think that you would face a situation
where you're one of your top superstars
is leaving and
you don't miss a beat. So like
if we went back in time
and thought like, and wanted to compare
it to the flames. So like we
had a superstar power forward. His name was
Jerome. He wore number 12.
Yeah. Yeah. So like if you'd have traded him
and got
a real. Yeah. Another
Sean Don back. Leon Dryside
like that. Well that that was
how they got Jerome, right? It was Newendike for this.
Yeah, that one worked. That was the original
and obviously it's not as
big of a gap when Natchez is probably only a couple years younger, like maybe three or four years
right now.
But it's hard to believe that you can replace.
When that deal happened, it was since Shockways.
You're like, holy shit.
Like how in the world are they letting this superstar go?
It's like, oh, well, they got a superstar back.
And you look back on it now.
It was, well, something's going on with this NACIS.
NACIS was a pain.
This sort of thing.
And now time passes and you watch them here in Colorado.
It's like, was there maybe something in Carolina.
I believe there's something in the wall.
Water in Carolina.
Not so much this one individual player.
Is there something about that environment maybe in Carolina that's not.
They're playing him down the lineup and he was the squeaky wheel and negotiations are always difficult in Carolina.
If Rod can't get market value, who can.
Right?
She's a wreck another pen.
Yeah.
Anytime I fly with these, they just start a leak.
Maybe don't fly with them.
That's the move.
But once you're on the plane, you can't really throw them out the window.
I'm going full earnest in court here.
A little bit.
Yeah.
Yeah, a little bit.
I've never, well, I mean, I guess I haven't sat around too many people that work at a desk or with pens,
but you are way, way, you excel at wrecking pens.
I don't work.
Years, this guy, they blow up on them left and right.
Yeah, first row problems, I suppose.
That is.
They're good pens, though.
I love these pens.
The unibals.
What are you ultra fine point or just fine?
What's your, a little bit of both right now?
Micro, I guess, is what it's.
Can we see the fine?
Yeah.
Yeah, take this one that's leaking.
Oh, careful.
Yeah.
Get all over.
Oh, right.
Yeah.
Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts.
Oh, I can go up there right now.
Emerald Lake Lodge.
A long weekend coming up here.
A mix of April storms, warm spring days.
What does that mean?
Soft powder, soft snow, warm sunshine, great spring skiing.
Early spring wildlife viewing.
Hey, is that a lot of?
The Bears out.
Did you see the buck?
The boss.
The boss is back.
The boss is out.
The boss is ready to do his thing.
Celebratory Emerald Skydome dinner.
Maybe out at the Emerald Lake Lodge.
Fireplace, crackling mountain views for days.
Your perfect winter escape.
It's my favorite time to get out there.
I do like it before Christmas, but it can be bitterly cold.
And dark, you get way more sunlight this time.
Way more sunlight.
I'm not complaining.
Just send me out there.
All right.
Book your stay at Emerald Lake Lodge.

Not too shabby.
Not too shabby,
bow.
Big news coming up last night,
6.37 p.m.
niche time.
Yeah.
As the,
uh,
the Toronto Police fire their general manager
Bradshaw Living,
which is not totally surprising.
We talked about it a bunch this year.
Miserable season.
Miserable season.
Some trades that did not work out.
There's still star caliber players on that team that,
specifically Matthews,
I still think,
Nielander kind of is what he is.
He gets the points. He's kind of quirky and it's,
when he's had his best, he's unstoppable,
and then he'll disappear for a game or two,
and it's just kind of the way he is.
But rather than debate whether or not
Trilling should go, I guess,
is there anything about the timing of it that seems kind of odd?
It's a game day for them.
They're on the road.
It's an hour or so before the puck drop.
It seems odd right before the game.
I probably would have waited until after, at least.
It's kind of.
Some of the whispers were that he had a year left on his deal,
and there was a thought that they might run him into the last year of his deal.
If you're Bradshaw living, you probably don't want to have the lame duck year.
Like, give me clarity.
Let's stock a new deal or get rid of me.
And it sounded like, you know, I guess I just met yesterday time of day.
I mean, if you're, like, is there ever a good time to Gasca?
I don't know.
Maybe the end of the year you could wait, but.
I don't think wait and helps.
They went over the weekend.
They did their internal audit and they came to their decision.
If you've made your mind up, do it.
I agree.
then the get well i don't know who you're going to hire but at least that person could be watching and
paying attention or maybe getting to know yeah and you know the the the shoveler was asking oh that's
what be your time i'm like well if you look back you can understand all the moves he made and why
none of them worked out none of them yeah i don't know and he ran himself into the same corner as he
did here in toronto now was that his own doing it was circumstantial to a certain extent but
you did the exact same thing in Calgary and Toronto.
Yeah, there's just a lust for physicality and veterans.
And his,
I think, like, his team would look better in a series than it would in the regular season.
And he always talked about it here where you need one type of team to get into the playoffs
and another one once you're in there.
But if you can't get in, you don't get to show what this roster could have looked like.
But when you look at all the moves he made, they all have everything in common.
he chased bigger, heavier, more physical, gritty, older, slower guys.
And when you subtract Marner on the other side and all of a sudden the goaltending turns into
pumpkins and you're running some injury troubles, which happens more to physical old
defensemen than young ones, this is what happens.
And when you looked at his mistakes here, it was similar stuff.
If you feel you're a piece away, you're willing to pay more for that piece.
They thought they were a piece away when they went and got Travis Hammondick.
They weren't a piece away and he was not the piece they think.
thought he was.
They thought they were a piece of way when they signed James Neal.
When they went and got Troy Brower, like, all these weren't bad players.
They just all cost more than they should have.
And even when you see him go out of a guy like Callie Yarncroke at the deadline,
you're like, why is he even up all these assets for Callie Yarncroft who's not even a natural center?
You're going to play at C in the playoffs.
And know, you had to know that your cupboards were not stocked in Toronto to begin with.
No, very few prospects and picks.
Yeah.
Because, you know, Scott Lawton.
Good player.
But what they brought him into B wasn't where he was played,
and they paid too much to get him.
Brandon Carlo, a lot of people, when his name was in rumors,
the flames were actually listed as,
oh, maybe Kirk Conner, Schenters and Carler did really,
why two years left, money's low, right shot D, big physical.
Okay, I like the player.
But again, you gave up a first, only top five protected,
and a prospect that's now playing top six minutes of center ice for Boston.
You just paid too much.
It wasn't that he got bad players.
It's just if everything,
if you're going to lay out a buck 25 for every dollar you've got to spend
and any time you get something back in trade at 75 cents all of a sudden the coverage
are empty and you're not that good and the marter one was tough because he has one year
from when he arrives to when marters full no move kicks in and it felt that year like they had
progress if not for weird injuries the migraines to nielander the starting goal are getting
hurt like they lose in seven in round one in a series that they easily could have won if they
just were a little healthier or had a bounce or the number one goalie was healthy.
Then they losing seven to the Panthers last year,
a series where they had twice at home chances to put a stranglehold in the series.
They lose both those games that that team was up and in a position to take a stranglehold
in a series against Florida.
Take a strangle.
It was a little wild.
Freckin' serious, wasn't it?
Yes.
And so you could understand the sentiment of we're not that far away.
But then when you try to move Martin for Ranton and that's.
doesn't work. And now it's like, okay, well, he's got all the covers.
I just feel like there was enough of a track record here with Goddrow.
Like that the murder thing shouldn't have happened to him again because it felt very similar.
Walking a guy to UFC is dangerous. Yeah. Your top, one of your top like. And,
and when you have the last year of his deal where he's got a hundred percent control of the trade,
your hands are tied. And it's, it would have been an incredibly tough call to make at the end of
June two summers ago. Yeah. Because that's when they had to make that call. And that was
coming off the heels of a series that I have never seen Brad make is those tough calls.
Brad has made the calls of,
I'll go for it.
God bless you.
Yeah.
He,
but he's,
he's got no issues making the,
I'll go for it call.
Yeah.
But he doesn't have,
he has many issues not going for it.
And I think,
Holden's steady.
I agree with that.
I think also to understand the situations he's in,
you don't roll into the Maple Leafs.
So I think, what was it, nine years in a row making the playoffs,
100 points almost every year.
And you don't say,
oh, yeah, you know, we're just going to move out,
Marner for some firsts and kids.
Like, that's not on the table.
You're in a contention window.
Bullshit.
Why not?
Because they're in a window to win a cup, in theory.
You've got Matthews and his prime.
I'll argue the other side.
Like, I'm talking a year ago.
I know.
And I'll say, bullshit.
They hadn't won a series.
They don't win in the playoffs.
So you're trotting it out.
And if you can't,
analyze that squad and their shortcomings and the fact that your cupboard's not stock and the fact that
you were in Calgary and sold the fucking farm to win there and it didn't work out, then you haven't
learned.
I'm not saying it's a tough decision and an awkward decision, but that's exactly what he should
have said when he got there.
When they were hiring, he should have said, I will have to trade this guy.
Are you okay with it?
Because that's the only approach.
That's our piece of the puzzle.
And instead, what you do?
And maybe there's some similarities to the Coriad here.
Like for as much as we look back and say, man, you had Monaghan, you had Bennett,
you had Goddrault, you had Lindholm, you had to show.
You didn't have D or goaltending.
You're not going to win.
I thought they had D that one year there.
But sure, the point being is that group never even made to the playoffs two years in a row.
So you can look back and fantasize about how good that team was.
They weren't that good.
They had years where they won the division.
They had years where they were tops in the West.
All the more reason to learn from it.
Right.
but it kept leaving him in these positions
where most seasons he was a buyer
and I think he spent too much as a buyer at deadlines.
That was his approach.
He didn't have a lot of years he had to sell.
Like when he sold,
Glenn Cross,
I thought he did it really well.
When he sold.
It's not kind of like this year at the deadline.
That's why I always say.
And it's not a shot that don't need to bring Conroy in.
But when you're selling and bringing in picks and stuff,
that's the easier,
that's the easier move.
When you're trying to build a,
the winner and you're giving up those assets
to bring in pieces that will fit
and there will be chemistry and will make
you better. That's the real challenge.
And he did not, he didn't do
well. Where is it works? And I'm not even
on a broader
spectrum, league-wide,
where is it worked?
We're trading everything.
You know what I mean? Like,
who's done it? Well, the teams
that win consistently built.
Florida did a hell of the job.
went and picked up a bunch of guys, but that was still a long process.
Where is it being where a team like Toronto has got effort?
I'm going to, that first, that first, this first in our top prospects are all gone because I need these guys.
And that's the difference.
I don't think it does work.
I think if you look at the top, if you were going to list six contenders in the league,
almost all of them would be teams that almost every year move their first and their prospects to get
better players. Like, that's how Dallas got? How did they know, but how did they become elite?
Well, you obviously through the draft get to a point and then once you're right, because you're not
selling. Yeah. But you could like here's the, the greatest conundrum with Toronto is that they're a
hundred point team in the regular season. And then every year in round one, they get the lightning,
the Panthers are Boston. Those were three of the best teams over the last decade.
That's right. So that means you're not the best team if you can't beat them, which is why you're
willing to move that first to go get the guy you think gets you over the house. See and I think that's the
exact opposite. That's what Florida's
done. That's how they got
Seth Jones. That's how they got Brad Marchand.
That's, you know.
They went got Seth Jones and they got Sam Ryan
and going to the finals.
They've got their second cup of those guys. The first without
Sam Wrighthart's a big part of the first. That's the same
situation. You move your first because you're at first in the
Cichuk deal. Yeah, like it's what contenders do.
That one's such a lot of liar. I disagree with you.
Wow. Okay.
But they also picked, they picked Eckblatt at one
they took bark off
park off early and it was a long
it was a long process
yeah and and they they were geniuses along the way
when you get gistlav forsling off waivers
and he turns into like a number two defenseman
Carter for Hegey
Toronto is very similar to Edmonton
where they should be
have more to show for what they've got
and they've missed the boat because
they've tried to slapstick goal turning together
just like Edmonton they've added bit pieces
just like Edmonton and it doesn't fucking turn out
yeah yeah like you're thinking
Adam Henrique and it's not
it sounds like it's always a cheap shot
because I don't like it but Adam Henrique's
not the difference maker no there
he's not a first and a whatever to get him in there
they just use another first place you can't find
somebody in your organization
to play Adam Hendricks role
then you're shortcoming yourself
like that's I totally agree
both things are true you need to be able
to develop your own talent and when you're close
by all means move your first like that's
the Penguins dynasty was built
on that too.
But you need to get to that point.
They didn't win the cup because they moved their first and brought somebody in.
They won the cup because Crosby, Malcolm, Flurry,
or all these other guys were really good.
The goaltender came in and played well, right?
I don't, I don't.
Like, we understand why Colorado just traded two first in the deadline.
Totally, but it makes sense.
They're close enough.
You justify it.
The pick's late enough.
It's like you're going to be picking 28 to 32 here.
Who cares?
But you're not winning the cup.
That helped?
I think they've did with call let's Colorado for example they don't win the cup because they trade their firsts and bring in Nick Waugh or Roy or what the fuck is yeah yeah yeah they win the cup okayo McCarr nature like that's why you win the cup I totally agree and the thought in Toronto was maybe we're just Washington and we need to keep running it back and finally one year things will click because we thought forever you'd never win with backstrom Carlson Ovechkin they'd lost too many times in round two to the jen
be honest about what you see where your holes are.
To be honest, they had some series they should have won,
including one against Tampa, one against Boston, one against Florida.
I didn't.
I don't know.
Nobody ever says that, well, I wish you had a ring wreck because you should have won
a suit, like, I do.
No, either do or you don't.
But like the process wasn't bad in some of those, like the summer that you're living
had to move Marner, they look pretty damn good in that series.
And if not for Matthews, Neander and the start.
counting the fact that you're, if you said to the rest of the league,
here's Marner, you're not getting back a bag of pucks.
Like you're going to.
Yeah.
It was a tough call, but you're right.
In hindsight, that you had to do it there.
Yeah.
Because once you get past July 1, it's him, his agent and his dad running the whole show.
Who knows?
Like, I'm sorry.
There's a bit of a track record with the agent and how he operates.
I wonder to.
And I'm just, we don't need, we can move on.
looking back, because that's the time to do it,
but he's a superstar player.
He's one of the top 10 guys in the league.
Are we really going to trade this guy?
Do they link it?
Marner is so connected to Matthews.
If we take Marner away, does, do you know what I mean?
Are we going to end up in the end losing two of our best players
by trading one of them?
Yeah, or is it the opposite where it's like Lindholm eating
based off the back of Goddrow and Kachuk?
You don't know until they're separated, right?
but
and Marner's been just okay this year
he's going to be probably 20 points
light of his town
there's other things you can dig into
I like Barubi
the other thing as a coach
but they were not on the same page
he's not the right fit for that squad
I'll say this with Trilliving
and then we can move on and do it
move on to what I don't know
we got a Pinda report
there's a torts
torts behind the bench
one of our boys
um
you bring it up a lot
and I was thinking about it last night
I was making meatballs
I actually thought about you.
You didn't bring one?
No.
Just how if, you know, if Jelena throws his arms into the air and the gates open, cups with the champions, you know, how does that go?
Do they have enough video to like, do they go?
Anyway, I was just thinking little things like that.
And then the Trillivings stuff came through and you just start to think is his work there, his work here.
and you bring it up all the time,
why is the team moving on from the player
that they're trading to you?
And in a lot of cases,
I think that kind of,
it kind of,
why would Brandon,
Brandon Carlo be available?
He's a big hulking defense.
He's a Boston Bruin through and through.
That's what the Bruins are about.
Why are they?
Yep.
They're not down,
they're not bottom five in the league.
What are they doing?
Well,
this why why
it just seems like he kind of
and I know that he talks to GMs and he does so much
groundwork more than people would even
probably realize like it's
oh I don't think he's uninformed but I think he's
because you're right there's not many
home runs when it comes to free agency
so what are when you go over his put a
report card together
there's not a lot of A pluses or
or solid
wins there.
There's some.
The Markstrom's signing was fine.
Tenev signing was fine.
Berksi for a second was theft.
The Brower was not a good signing.
No.
The James Neal one was a disaster.
You had to take on Luch for it.
Now, given the pinch he was in,
he did well.
He actually got an extra third out of it
because Neil...
But the original signing
was not a good signing.
It had better off not getting into bed
with any of that.
Yeah. 100%.
It was undoing a mistake.
and geo,
Gio,
yeah, Gio 100%
massive fail, massive
could have got a hall for GEO
not losing them for nothing
in the expanse of growth.
Huge, huge, huge,
kicking the nuts fail.
And I will.
On a hand, leaving.
Yeah, stable to do it first.
Just put them on LTIR.
Does that hurt?
We'll give away a first.
That was pick number 14 last year.
Yeah.
16.
It would be, well, it'd be interesting.
You're right, because how many,
how many of the moves were like,
net positive.
It was the selling of guys.
Like you talk about Glenn Cross,
Chris Russell.
It was the selling of players for future guys.
And there were some really good drafts in there.
There were some really bad ones.
It was a mixed bag.
The more you look at most GM's track records,
it's a lot of 60, 40,
55, 45,
mixed bag stuff.
And his is that,
but the mistakes were big ones.
And even little stuff.
Like,
you've got Matthew Kuchuk coming out of entry level.
And you're so horny about
the edges of your roster that you bridge him.
Meanwhile, his brother's just signed a six-year extension in Ottawa.
At the time, he's open to a longer-term deal.
Johnny Goddrews house shopping, the September of his UFA season.
You and the owner and the agent can't agree on a number.
Johnny's offended by the number that's turned down.
And now all of a sudden, after that incredible season where he puts up, what,
$115 points, oh, that was probably $3.5.4 million less than what he's going to
you now are offering him and that he turns down.
That's what I find interesting because he did it with Goodrell
and then Marner happened again.
And I find those to be very similar,
very similar where you're like,
you cannot do that again.
I wonder too,
and I think I know the answer,
is that none of these GMs have full autonomy.
You need to run shit up the flagpole all the time.
And I think I know what a,
hey,
I'm thinking of trading Goodro.
I'm thinking of trading Jerome until it was the very end.
It's like you who aren't even allowed to ask.
You don't even ask that question.
You know not to ask.
You don't even ask.
And I wonder in Toronto,
we know what Marner is.
He's a great player, but we also know what we're not doing with Marner.
And in a year from now, A, does he want to stay?
B, do we want him to stay?
C, what's it going to cost to keep him?
If all those could, I just think there'd be so many hurdles to get done what you may want to get done.
I think there was a lot more autonomy in Toronto than there was here.
And I've got that on good authority.
and I would say that the more we watch us unfold,
the more heat's going to come down on Brendan Chanah.
You know what?
I'll tell you this for free,
because there's not much free.
Not much for free these days.
If you were given the opportunity,
you could be a GM in the NHL.
If you put five,
a couple years of work into it,
you would make as good of trades or deals
as a lot of the guys that have those jobs.
Go get my dad a guy, go get my cap guy,
I got my best scouts I can find.
Here's my budget.
Like it's not.
You need really smart people.
We're not putting together a rocket ship.
But in addition to that, we are very smart.
Yeah.
So we're waiting for you.
You don't need to be, but we are.
Is it Pelly?
Mr. Pelley?
Yeah.
Yeah, he's listening.
We're ready.
We can do it as a tanderum, a triplets or we'll bring Jack.
He's our video guy.
We see.
Well, watch the show.
There's no group think here.
We've got lots of different ideas.
Quad box.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So they need a GM.
The rumblings about...
...got extended today by the stars.
The rumblings about Doug Armstrong.
I thought he was retiring.
That's interesting.
I know.
Wouldn't be good for Craig Barube,
but he might be cooked too anyway.
He might be cooked too.
And you think back,
it was about a month or so ago.
He looks like he's fed up with it anyway.
I don't think he's enjoying this crew at all.
This is not his group.
This is how he wants to play.
And is he good at what he does?
I brought this up the other day.
we were talking about it.
I'm like, well, okay, St. Louis, he won.
But after they were last place and won epic.
And he came in as an interim that year, so it's not all on it.
But there are horses.
But he was in Philly and they didn't win.
Courses for horses, what they say in golf.
Certain guys fit better at certain spots.
There are certain teams that you know a coach.
He's well arrested.
Oh, he's back.
Yeah.
Like, do you, there's certain teams you're like,
I want to give this coach this.
high school group. This blue collar,
like I know that they need this type of coach.
Craig Barubi is not the type of coach for that roster.
But the thinking was they needed the roster
to meld into what the coaches are going to get tougher,
so we need the coach.
We're soft, we can't, we need, Craig Barubi.
And then they're going to come around to the Ruby way.
That's mismanagement when you don't understand the pieces.
If you, that's, yeah.
What, what, it'll come back to the, this core in Toronto
over and over and over again.
If you have separate rules
for how your core players play than everyone else,
it's not happen.
Do you believe that this core,
new GM comes in and sticks with it?
Like, I don't know who the,
well,
it's a different core now.
It's Lander and Martin.
O'Reilly's not in his prime anymore.
And the Matthews thing is,
and Tavares is no longer,
is a major.
Is Tavar's a core piece?
I guess.
He's not a good year,
but it's like,
he's in his mid-30s.
Yeah.
He's not making 11 anymore.
What's the core?
Riley's shit.
It's Matthews and Nealander.
Yeah.
And nobody else.
I would not put my as a Leafs.
All your great Leafs fans out there, I would not put Murray.
Like I like Matthew Nyes, but I mean, sophomore slump this year, whatever you want to call it every year's in.
Like not the season he had last year.
The D is old.
Can't move the puck.
Injury prone.
And it's goaltending.
It looks like two career tandem guys.
does. Yeah, you almost feel like they just need to almost take it to the studs and start again.
You'd get a lot for both of those guys if you move them.
Stars, you said another hose, yeah.
Kneeander and Matthews. You could just start, it would expedite things.
But it's just kind of, I'm sure it would be a lot of teams watching last night.
So the last time the two teams play, ducks in the Leafs, Radco Gutus hits Matthews, blows his knee out, no response.
Not the first time we've heard this. No response from the Leafs.
This is, oh, how can't you stick it?
So the Leafs play in Anaheim last night,
and Domi's fighting Goudis off then.
Look at us fighting his...
We're scrappers.
That game was like a month ago.
I guess it's fine that you're now stepping up,
but it doesn't really solve what you're not or what you are.
It doesn't prove anything.
It's not natural. It's phoony. It's fabricated.
It's so fabricated.
Even Goudis is like, yeah, it's probably going to be early.
Well, and you know what?
I think Goudis threw that fight to a certain extent.
I left the prior game with injury,
and it was a big story.
Well, he was going to make himself available.
Rose Hill was tweeting about it last night.
He says, my understanding is his right hand is hurt.
He's not supposed to be fighting.
So he gave the fight to Domey and didn't throw a punch, really.
He just kind of tricked.
That's fine.
I'll take it.
When I respect that.
That's the code.
So.
No, this is not a tight group.
No.
And again, like, good teams have bad years, but it's really hard to look at this group a year older.
Good teams don't usually.
It's already slow.
It's very rare.
If they're injury, if they get hurt.
Vegas missed the one year.
Tampa missed the one year in between each scornwoods finals.
Colorado.
Did they get hurt?
Were they injured?
All the above?
I mean, the least were super injured this year.
Okay.
Well, that's what I'm saying is that good teams.
I don't think they have bad years.
If you have a bad year, that means you're not good.
Yeah.
I guess the point I'm making is that they're going to bounce back to be good next year.
It's that we have seen 100-point teams miss the playoffs.
Pull up that lineup and tell me that next year.
year you're not. I don't think they are good enough. Oh, I think it's dark. I think they're better than this
year, but they're very much in the middle. Yeah, but they're not in the middle and you watch those other
teams out east and you're going, how the hell are you going to compete? There's no way. Buffalo's
back. Montreal looks good. Ottawa's on the rise. Detroit's getting better every year, bit by bit.
I think it's dark. Like, it's coming. Florida and Tampa aren't going away yet. Boston's
turned things around quickly and nicely. They kind of, they might be the template for Toronto. And we thought
I worked two years ago.
But they didn't have the goaltender that the Bruins had.
Yep.
We talked about it with the deadline coming.
Oh, or the least, what are they going to do to get Nazim Khadry?
They want Nazim Khadry in Toronto.
Well, what do they have?
No.
Well, that now shifts.
So what do you have to build your own team?
Not to entice some other team to trade somebody to you.
What?
Easton Callan.
All right.
They've got some.
Danforth.
I don't know, man.
It's.
They've now got a first from Vegas, but that's a year away.
they've also got seconds potentially from L.A. and Seattle, depending how far those teams go.
Those kids that you draft in those positions are not coming in in the next year.
No, it's five years away.
But again, if you really wanted to, like, if the pressure is such in Toronto,
that Keith Pelly says we win at all costs, burn the boats, you go move those picks for players right now.
But it's a long way. There's a lot of holes.
You're aft if you try that.
No first, no second this year. They do have.
two-thirds for whatever that's.
But they have their first. That's
27 they've got their first. 28, they've got
their first. They have two seconds next year. They recouped
some at the deadline. They got Colorado's
27 in the Niquadio.
And then they've got Seattle second
for Bobby McMahon and potentially a second
for Lott and if L.A. makes the playoffs.
They have three more years of Tavares at 4.3,
which is fine.
Matthew Nyes,
his deal kicked in this year, 7.75.
That's the guy I'd be trying
to pry out of it. Like, McMahon
has been awesome in Seattle.
It took like a week to get a paperwork done
because he'd never played for an American team before.
But he has been awesome.
And he is a UFA this summer
and someone's going to pay him,
but those were the types of guys.
He's old, is he not?
I told him.
Yeah.
Matthews has two years left at 13.25.
Nylander is in for a bit yet,
but it's the Matthews one that's going to be the most exciting to watch for me.
I don't really.
I don't hate the Leafs.
I don't love them.
I don't think he's coming here.
I don't think it.
But just to see who.
Drama.
Well, how do you build it out?
If you stick with the crew,
how do you build it out to win?
Right?
Because we're looking at that lineup.
Well, I don't think you win with this group.
So I sell.
There's big changes coming either way.
If you're trying to win or you're reloading,
like there's,
so who's the GM?
Sell me the vision.
And there's going to be a lot of moves no matter which direction.
That's the thing.
Because if, if, if Keith Pelly comes out and it's like,
well, we're winning now.
You can say all the, you can say whatever
you want to say. Yeah. You're not winning.
Now you could like Boston looked dead in the water when it was
Marsden has Swayman and I have way more faith in Swamen than these other guys.
Still ours and wool. Yeah. I just don't. And now they've been heard a lot this year.
And then you've got you got to go four rounds deep. The Leafs can't get two rounds deep.
Well, and you watch Dallas and Colorado and like these teams, holy shit.
And as importantly, sorry, I'm jumping all over here,
but as importantly is what we just said.
Look at the standings in the East.
You have a team missing with like 96 points.
Yes, who's going to fall over next year?
Especially in that division.
Buffalo's back.
T's and peas, leaves.
And Brett.
Brett. Brett. Brett. Brett.
Brett.
Yeah.
Well, because you were going to be the GM.
I thought that's what you were saying.
Tees and peas to the Leafs and to
Brett. And now to Brett.

Hearingloss.ca is the website to book yourself an assessment today.
Not a lot of, what I got for games.
I'm excited to play our game.
Good slate.
Good slate.
You got nine, eight, nine games tonight.
Yeah.
Play our game.
Look at last night.
got more than half
jack's penguinos
another early payout
another early payout jack
give us the damn the man
up to the chrism
we'll get to it in the interport
we want to do the chocolate bracket
we can do the chocolate bracket
I need to get caught up to speed here
what the hell's going on
well
I left we were doing
I thought we had someone coming on
it's the chocolate championship
and
you just never
you don't know
you don't know until
until you do these sorts of exercises
you think you know
This is why you play the game.
It's why you play the game.
It's the chocolate championship.
It's the Barn Burner Championship.
We do, you know, we go places not every place goes.
There was the bracket after the play in round, dairy milk and rollo champions on a play in,
had their hands full in round number one.
Rollo taking on the number two seed caramilk.
A caramilk covered in chocolate treat, both of them, which would reign supreme.
On the other side, a huge battle as the reigning champion,
Reese peanut butter cups taking on the delicious dairy milk.
Now Jack's,
Jack put it out into the ether last week.
I'm going to get all my buddies.
I'm going to get all my dumb buddies.
And we're going to vote for dairy milk.
Oh,
we're going to try and get the biggest upset ever in the chocolate championships history.
Score versus Twix,
Kit Kat, Snickers, O Henry Crunchy,
Mr. Big, coffee, crisp.
And Jack didn't, I kind of was sniff around.
So how's, how's the thing looking?
Because I know it's going to end today.
We've got a humdinger going
Really?
We got one.
A couple of close ones?
One very close.
We got one humdinger coming right down to the wire.
Should we take a look, Jackie Boy?
We will start on the left side.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Oh.
Crushed.
So we didn't do a good job.
No.
I tried to get people on the dairy milk.
And they're like, oh, I love Reese.
It just didn't work at all.
They're like, cool, but no.
I'm telling you.
How did Reese?
I don't get it.
Yes.
I'm glad to 801 to 359 Reese.
It's a slobrenocker.
I was stunned by the next thing.
The score is out.
Not even close.
Not even close.
Twix are,
younger, the kids into the Twix as opposed to the score.
I don't like they're like me.
They don't like when the score gets stuck in their teeth.
Maybe.
Just be patient.
Just kind of work out.
And maybe it's two versus one.
There's two twicks.
That's good point.
It doesn't seem fair.
753 to 410.
So the scorebar is out.
So too is Wonderbar rolled up by Kit Kat.
That's a trick.
An absolute.
Not close.
Banger.
And Snickers.
I guess it really does satisfy.
I can see that one.
Takes out.
See Arrow Bar.
100 votes different.
100 votes different.
It sounds like a lot, but that's the closest one we had on the episode.
This, and again, Jack, I think you're learning as we go.
This is how things like Reese, they become champions.
Because now they take on Twix.
I feel like Twix is a heavy underdog.
I think that Twix is going to be right in there.
I think Twix will, well, it's easy to perform better than dairy milk.
Also, I think Twix is sneaky.
Twix survived.
several competitor last round
I got almost as many votes
I think Twix are coming
I hope your guys are right
I didn't realize there's so much love for the
peanut butter chocolate
it's ridiculous
I've never understood it
I'll never understand it in there
it's bacon oh yeah peanut butter
bacon chocolate absolutely I've not seen that
model with me Reese
they're sleeping on something I
figured out boys put some bacon
all right let's get to the right side
well hey oh sorry and then the Kit Kat
take it on the Snickers
I don't know what I go with.
Two absolute staples.
I don't know where I go either on that.
I really don't.
I think I know.
But I need, I may ask me this afternoon, I might give you a different answer.
I think it changes day to day, depending on how I feel.
Yeah.
Now I can say this, Jack did show me numbers.
We've not seen the tight, the closest race yet, correct?
That is correct.
Because none of those were real.
To the, what is the Western Conference?
Is this?
Yeah.
To the West.
we go as we take a look
oh my goodness wow
now better
poor crunchy

I would say I'm slightly surprised by that
I thought Eminems might sneak through
how close was it when you sent that
I'll look great
yeah I was about the same
It was about 17, 18 votes difference last night.
Not surprised by the coffee, Chris.
I think that thing is solid.
Caramel in a blood bath.
I don't understand that, to be honest with you.
If you like chocolate and you like caramel,
how the hell can you make it's just.
It's the mystery.
It's the marketing.
Yeah.
It's that boat split.
It's the, not as chewy.
How do you get the, it is.
It like, Rolo is definitely a harder caramolk.
It shows you in.
the ad there when it cracks open
kind of dripping
so M&Ms
despite the advantage
they had
peanut M&Ms, milk chocolate
Eminem's? Whatever ones you want

Caramelk v. Coffee Crisp
Mars taking on O'Henry
that's a nice set caramel milk coffee
Coffee Crisp is a nice matchup.
Those are two of my all-time
Yeah, like there.
That's a banger.
I almost feel bad for them.
That's a Dallas, Minnesota thing.
Right?
We're going to lose a real competitor.
Yeah.
Early.
There it is.
When does the voting for,
it's open now?
Oh, really?
Look at that.
It's open now.
The elite eight.
Get your votes in.

There's a great story written by Jack.
I read article there.
Wonderful author.
Yeah.
O'Tooer.
Yeah.
And so,
but he's so busy, right?
They can't read.
That's true.
That's true.
Yeah.
Outputs, not inputs.
The bracket is getting updated as we speak.
I like that top one.
You know what?
There's not a soft move for.
So is Twix the only upset, I suppose, in terms of seating?
Yeah, nine, eight, please.
Yeah.
We knew that was going to be tight.
They won by a bit.
They won by a bit.
I would say that's what causes the upset comment is that it wasn't really close.
Yeah.
But it was nine and eight.
So you could see them moving on, but I did not think it would be that lob sight.
But some people are idiots.
That's true.
So true.
Not on this show, though.
Yeah.
So true.
Wow.
And you get to eat today.
So if you wanted to happen with those, you could go.
We started talking.
What were we talking about yesterday?
I almost stopped the DQ last night and got three large score blizzards, extra score.
Goodness.
of those go to them. Blizzards.
Eh?
Almost had the blizzards. There it is.

Smackdown. 9-2.
Smackdown.
Look at all the fans.
Would have been a good night to be.
Yeah. The old ball arena.
What's the woman? She's got her hand up to her mouth
there. What's she?
Oh, nice.
Yeah.
She's beautiful. Wolf, you suck.
I think that's what she said?
Oh, yeah, probably.
And if you thought Wolf sucked, he did
get pulled and then the goalie that came after him allowed more.
Oh, it's, yeah.
It might have been the flame sucking, not the goalies on this night in Denver.
Is Wolf happy at that point?
He's like, this is not going.
That is a great noodles question.
Right?
Like, and I'm not.
Like, do you want the mercy pull or you're like, don't embarrass me, let me stay in this
thing?
Or it's like, it's the abs.
Get me out of here.
It was not his issue.
No.
They were getting snut bubbled.
Oh, five on three back door look.
Yeah, that's not on me.
And I know the flames have the, if they.
score four.
Right.
They win.
I'm not sure what the abs,
when they score nine record is,
but I also think stellar.
Very, yeah.
When the abs get nine.
Probably real good.
Yeah.
Certainly over five years.
Tough to beat.
Yeah.
I think so.
Well,
stay with Flames Nation.
The news we've been waiting for
for a few days,
finally made official,
the Calgary Flames have signed
Jonathan Castagna to his entry level.
This is a futures deal.
This isn't for this year.
So he's on ATO, an amateur truck.
I want a futures deal, Craig.
Call me.
Craig? What position are you looking for?
Whatever. I can feel
fill any role. Do you want to be one of those
ambassador? Hello, hey, how you doing? Howdy at the new
ring? Shake hands. What do you get paid on the PTO?
Or the ATO? You'd probably just get your day money, but he's got a signing
bonus from his futures deal. I would take NHO
per diem. Per diem's fine.
We're fine. Okay. That's all I do.
When and where he will play will be interesting.
The ATO allows him to play American League hockey. He is dealing with some
injuries that he was playing through in the Frozen 4 tournament.
Rhett believes he's a faker.
And three years versus burning a year now, there's pros and cons.
By the time that entry level is done, he'll have a more established body of work on which to get paid on, perhaps.
On the other side, some agents say let's get the clock started on working you towards free agency,
service time, whatever.
They got a deal done.
If we see him this year, best bets, or it'll be with, uh,
Show up and be good, kid.
The Calgary Ranglers.
Show up and be good.
Are the Wranglers still playing?
Because they are not good.
They are playing.
They are not playing good.
They cannot defend.
I watched them Wednesday in Palm Springs.
It was,
you know the Duke coach.
I could talk to.
Well,
I think it's more of a personnel issue when you pull up the Kuznetsov,
Bristevich.
If you can't coach them.
It's a poor carpenter that claims his stuff.
Yeah.
Equival.
Wranglers are not good.
Lasterooney in the Pacific Division.
I hate being last Rooney.
Eight teams, only seven get in.
They're not going to be one of the seven.
Yeah, there's 10 in that division.
How many games have they played?
They have six left.
Come on, Johnny.
Get in there.
Go get him, kids.
We'll see when he's ready to roll.
He was in Denver meeting the team, signing paperwork.
And we'll see what kind of hockey's got in the spring.
Congratulations.
Looks like it's a pretty exciting.
Eight game slide right now for the rang.
Arseni Serb.
Just grinded them.
Jesus, take the load of.
Yeah, Brett, smile.
He's the sutter red.
Let's keep moving.
We haven't looked at this yet, boys.
You excited to see the month of April.
The final month.
We live this tomorrow.
This potential, well, it's their next games.
This is all they have left.
Five in the road, three at home, eight games left.
Six against playoff teams, two on the bubble.
Those would be Seattle and L.A.
Tongue to the Mads and Vegas just trying to play.
Vegas did win their debut under John Tortorella last night.
Do we want to do win-loss point?
It's a win-lose or draw?
We can do it tomorrow.
Yeah, we've got time.
It is a hard game to play with Steam.
I don't think anyone have them going 5-0-1 on the homestand.
But again, 303 on the road, 602 at home.
they are jockel and Hyde
Homer away the same group of players
for some reason.
What are you, Coleman?
Are you tanking or not?
Is that your new guy?
Oh, the Wiggers Hillman.
Coleman.
You good player, you, you two-time Cup champ,
you leader of men.
You lettered excellent checking.
You're like the rest of us, you're selfish.
He'll be good on that seventh game
because as when it was families down in Dallas.
You know what?
That bugger will probably have the team over
and take care of everybody.
Yeah, they're probably.
I'm going to have some big T-bone steaks on the grill.
That's Easter.
Text Max.
Is it Easter this weekend?
It is.
Are we working Friday?
No.
Yes.
Why is Easter on such different days?
What's work?
Okay.
Oh man.
Jack, you want to work?
No.
Why?
But I was confused about the whole Easter thing.
I would rather work then than the day after the draft.
The Easter thing is that there's a good Friday and then there's a good Friday and then
there's Easter Monday and the good friend.
No, I understand that, but last year it wasn't at the beginning of April.
It was like in the middle of it.
It does bounce around.
You should ask a Catholic calendar, Jack.
Just shut the up.
That Chicago White Sox fan, Pope, he said the Bible.
You love to read.
Yeah, read the Bible.
Can you imagine?
Jack, you're never reading the Bible.
What does Doth mean?
Yeah.
Okay, we'll move.
The West standings look as such.
There's some teams that are hanging around.
here, i.e. teams not
really playing their way into that second
wildcard. Look at the sad, sad group trying to get
into wildcard too. Nashville
barely over 500. LA
Kings can't win in regulation.
Seattle Cracken, no one believed in them.
They're still hanging around. Still don't believe in them.
And the San Jose shark's still there.
Even the Jets
at one game over 500
are three points out with a game
in hand. Gross.
There's no way
Vegas and Edmonton. They're going to.
soil themselves.
Kings have two games in a hand on Vegas
for that third
spot, but
they're well back.
Yeah.
It's wild card too.
That's what's up for grabs.
Feels like it and seating the rest of the way.
And I'm looked like they're going to lose
regulation.
They tied it in the final two minutes.
Ninth time this year, they've tied
a game in the final two minutes.
11th time in the last five minutes.
Ducks late again.
Yeah.
They'd lose it in overtime.
That's a quack.
Is it?
It's all right.
Let's go to the east.
This is the real race to be impressed with.
Well, the cutoff is 77 in the west.
Just another 11 points better in the east where Columbus holds on the final wildcard.
But Ottawa, two points back with a game in hand.
Detroit, two points back with a game in hand.
Philly, two points back with a game in hand.
Suck, gray, blue.
That's what they say in Philly.
Yeah, bad bunny.
Credit to the flyers.
Not going away.
What about those islanders?
Looking good.
You could catch the last.
Yesterday.
Yeah, they weren't looking good yesterday.
Well, they were on the outside looking in.
Who's in the metro that can take the islanders out?
Everyone.
Columbus.
And Philly.
Yeah, Ottawa and Detroit are in the Atlantic, right?
Sorry, they meant round one here.
No, I meant like they've played the most game.
75.
Eh?
So Ottawa, Detroit, Philly had two in it.
but I don't want to
yeah Philly three back with two games in hand
all right that's right
did not see the flyers uh being here at this juncture
talk it got the boys rolling
oh Vlad you know what it is
Mischkov's finally in shape
crushing
there you go
uh bottom 10
let's take a peek where the flames are
even better
Rangers and Canucks have been eliminated
isn't it odd that Chicago is not
we don't have any ease by our name
that's how bad the West Wildcard too is
still alive and kicking.
Calgary five in a row remain on their six game road trip.
They've been miserable on the road.
That's where they're ending.
Yeah.
Maybe the Rangers here.
We'll get to the schedule tonight.
A lot of these teams are in action or were in action last night.
Chicago is not coming out of the two hole.
I don't think.
Vancouver.
We'll have to look at the schedule.
Clearly locked in.
How many Canucks games did they have left on their schedule?
Dean was.
I was, uh, I mentioned it.
Last night's game against the avalanche, the first of the three-game series.
Here you go.
There's your odds.
Based on schedule remaining and how these models view these teams,
flames most likely to finish third from the bottom,
which would give them an 85% chance of a top five pick.
I'll see you have some food yesterday.
Oh, I did.
Yeah.
What kind of models do you like?
Oh, tall.
Tall.
Underware.
Would this classify as a tall model?
Look at those four or five times.
Victoria's secrets.
Okay,
so what are we talking about,
Ryan?
I got distracted.
Yeah,
you sure did.
Those are your chances.
Where you're going to pick?
We'll, uh,
maybe we'll start to buy magazines to see the models.
Like this here?
Like hockey news?
Yeah.
Yeah.
The stats would come out on Tuesdays in the paper.
That's the only way you can see those models.
Love those models.
Yeah.
Let's go to results from last night,
shall we?
Ooh.
I picked that one.
Early payout, early payout.
Empty netter to seal Rett's puck line win for the Vegas goal on nights.
Leifes rallied in this one.
Two fights from Domi, he gets tossed from the game.
Physical contest.
Lou Carlson left for a moment to return.
He scored to tie it in the final two minutes.
Morgan Raleigh with like five seconds left in OT after an incredible chance
and close from Washi.
Washie.
Tim Washy
Washy
and the sharks
Sharks
Sharks
Needed this to get to overtime
Stinking Blues
but okay
Celebrini remains
very good
We'll get back to him
in a moment
First we talked about it earlier
Brad for Living
relieved of his duties
Last night
As general manager
He was closing in
On the three year mark
Of being hired
Less than three years
Young man
It's about as short
As you get as a GM tenure
Tough to name guys
That didn't get three years
Yeah
Very tough year of transactions
if you went just back the calendar year.
Maybe stretch it back to last year's deadline.
And the questions are not over for the trauma.
Who is helping them?
It's a large staff, but I don't.
Spetsa?
Don't.
Don't.
Don was there?
What, don't?
Who's going to be the new GM?
Are they going to hire a president?
Keith Pelly wants to win.
Does he watch your kid's score?
That's right.
Hey, Shane, thanks for telling me your son was so good.
Could have added him.
Hey, Brad, we should get my kid.
He's really good.
Yeah, he's really good.
We got this Micelli kid instead, damn it.
It's not as good.
Damn it.
Celebrini, 100 points.
How's that sound for a teenager?
Wait, now.
Holy.
A hundred?
Actually, 101.
100.
100.1.
But he eclipsed the century mark last night in his second NHL season at the tender age of 19.
It's an incredible list to join.
Gretzky, Howard Chuck, Lemieux, Jimmy Carson.
Jimmy!
Sidney Crosby
and now the sixth person ever
to do it. Maclin Celebrini,
McDavid was going to be on this list, but that was the year of the
10th. Why the F can't we have nice
things? Can't. So Libriene
had two. He's up to 38 goals.
Why? 31 of them
at even strength. Gee.
That's a new, it's a new Sharks team record.
Who did we offend in this town?
Jonathan Chichu has 30 in
0506.
Wow. The Chichu tree.
Titu.
If you want to current update on the Art Ross and the Richard race.
We've got no one in this space.
McKinnon, one away from 50.
He gets Vancouver next.
Get your shares now.
Cole Cawfield's been on an absolute heater.
He's three back.
Cutter!
Fragun stars have two 40 gold guys.
Carter!
Yeah, and neither named Dramman.
Yeah, how old are those two guys that have 40 with the stars?
They're quite young.
90?
Very young.
Another guy you want young, Cutter Goce, 38.
Got hurt.
Yes.
It'll cost him potentially 40.
And Cooch is out.
He's missed the last couple, I believe, in a game time decision tonight.
What?
I know.
And here's the thing.
Our next graphic is the point totals.
Cooch had this thing all wrapped up.
It seemed like it gains at hand on Connor.
This is points, Brett.
Yeah.
124 for McDude.
He was 20 to 1 a week ago to win this award.
20 to 1.
He's now favored.
hope you got shares.
Kuturav, three back.
We don't know if he's going to go tonight.
These three up there.
Let's get somebody else up there.
That's right, Maclin.
Pick up your socks.
All you need is.
Hell you do it.
40 points in your last 10 games.
Let's go.
Come on, Mac.
Incredible.
101 points, 19.
Good for him.
And it was like, it's a good draft year.
He's a good player.
He's a consensus one.
Solid.
Oh, a badard.
That's a high ceiling.
I don't know.
Like, kids, an absolute animal.
How do these donkey scouts get this nest up?
He's improved a lot.
Oh.
So you can keep getting better?
I don't know that he maxed out at 17.
I was told that most kids by the age of 14.
You know.
That's it,
eh?
Yeah.
14.
Yeah.
Easy game.
Let me tell you about the year of my Western hockey league drafts
because Justin Mappletop was the best in Western Canada.
Maves,
we love here.
He was unbelievable.
He was so good.
C.
The H.
I thought it was odd that the Ruck boys,
they're the only people in the CHL that scored 100 points this year.
Twins and both.
They used to be like 150 point guys.
the Ruck twins
twins
it's really
yeah it's not just the nickname
no their dad played in the WD
I know how you feel about tall models
how do you feel about Twins

thank you
you know who is put on a master class?
We talk about Canucks all the time.
And it's obvious because they're waving it right in our faces.
The Florida Panthers are so greasy and amazing.
Remember when they passed here, Alberta?
Like, we could change you?
Oh, ahead.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, a full boat in Edmonton next night.
Yeah, we'll just rest Forsling.
And this guy, you have a seat.
Here are the guys done for the year.
Barka, Marsha, Marnhart, Lundel, Mikala, Rodriguez,
Balinskis, for skis, I don't know, it's a lot, man.
And Gatsievich.
which all done.
They are going to have a very good pick here.
And they get to keep it because their pick was top 10 protected, I believe,
for Chicago with Seth Jones and Spencer Knight Deal.
Chicago's pissed.
Oh, well done, Florida.
They don't mess around.
I told you this is what they were supposed to do.
They're doing it.
You're doing it.
They're doing it.
And we didn't know of what the timeline was going to be on all these guys.
Barkov was not going to play a game this year.
It didn't matter.
This is way better up.
I hant there's a long luminous I'm all does your model thing consider this tanking
Ryan I haven't talked to her today so I don't know okay which one one of the
twins tonight's games let's play the game give me some music Dino let's go all right
I feel like we can do as NHL 94 4 years all this you get it easy one at
Jack will play it easy one at the top big trade controversy young guy
Tyler's again.
Okay.
Are you a Rich Beverly?
I like, anyway.
You're going to say you like going deeper.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let me give us a lot.
Patty Laugh-Ot-Otrain.
Next one.
Yeah.
Whoa.
Pierre Turgeon.
Habe's and Lightning.
How about David Savard?
How about Pierre Tudgeon?
You do those two us on?
Turgon did it do later.
Well, that?
Yes.
Turgeon?
Jack, we're going to need a ruling here.
Did Pierre Tijon play for the Tampa?
I know.
What are we best?
What are we betting?
Fish and Chis-Chips?
Pierre Terjean.
I am going to say
Turgeon did not play...
I can't spell that.
I can't spell Pierre or Turgeon.
There's no way.
He's going to get Tom Pote
before he gets Pierre Turgeon.
Did he do it?
Go ahead.
Next, we'll circle back on that.
Next one, Ottawa, Florida.
Ooh, uh, Bob Kudelski.
Yes.
If Kudelsky played for Florida, then he did play...
He did.
He was there.
I started.
Bob Kedelsky is correct.
What a, uh, that, that gets extreme rarity points.
Well done.
Uh, Devil's Rangers, lots of guys are dead.
Shanahan.
They're in.
Uh, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Jack.
Nanta.
I got one, too.
Mosa.
Osa?
Osa?
Yeah.
Ben Chirot.
Ever, come on.
These food.
Uh, full.
To say, nice.
Fish and chips.
Flyers.
Capitals.
Flyers and caps.
I say it every time.
Keith Jones.
God, do these teams always...
Doig.
Jason Doig.
What?
You say, but he was a capital.
He was just.
I don't know to even the flyer.
Jack, how do you spell doig?
Doig.
Olaf, court, no.
Jason, doig.
D-O-G.
Those great high draft picks for the win of sake,
Jets.
We'll just take Keith Jones and keep him of.
Carolina and Columbus.
That's our good pal, Mike Commeter.
Yes.
I'm not going to argue.
Won a cup and then secured the bag.
Good work.
Coming.
Secured the bag.
It's got a ring.
Oh, that coming.
Jets and Frolek tapes.
Lots of there.
Buflin as well?
Lots of guys there.
And Everly at the bottom, that's a good answer.
Adam Larson, everyone.
I don't know. It was expansion.
I was sure.
So it wasn't a Turgeon.
So did we get a Montreal lightning one then?
Yeah, I said David Smart.
Right.
He was sure it was.
Yeah.
Turson again.
That would have been great, though, if it was.
You went back-to-back, P.T.
Is there another Turgeon?
There was Sylvan Turgeon.
Sylvain Lefeb.
Silvan Lefebvre played for the Leaf.
Oh, what?
No, he did.
Yes.
He was.
Fish and chips?
Oh my God, it's a double-up.
So you're saying,
Do you're saying,
Sylvia will fade for the habs and the
lightning?
It's tough.
Bees and bees.
Now there's a sneaky bee in there.
It was the Rangers.
Red color scheme, wrong team.
Go back.
Good work on the game, everyone.
What are we dialed in on tonight?
If you want to talk playoff implications,
penguins, red wings is huge.
Columbus has to keep it going.
did their games played or not helping them right now.
Flyers need to keep winning.
Flyers got to keep rolling.
Columbus needs to turn it around.
They've hit the skids a bit.
Jets,
if you think they're doing it,
they need to win.
And Hawks,
you're at home.
Do it for Rick Ball.
Get the Hawks to win some games.
Montreal, Tampa is a
looking like a potential
first round matchup
at Buffalo wins the Atlantic.
That would be fun.
Dallas has not played well.
Boston has.
Yeah.
Yeah, Dallas, what, the 15-game point streak, and since then, they have not been very good.
Robbie DeMio playing Dallas?
Yes.
Rich Beverly, too.
Probably played in, uh, Rob DeMio.
It was a star for a year.
He was a star.
I think so.
He was a tiger.
I'll check.
Good work, guys.
Lots of good hockey here.
Go to get a pass that.
I can't believe I have two fish and chip lunches coming my way.
I love fish and chips.
I was craving fish and chip.
Oh, fish and chips.
Oh, fish chips.
you want to go fishing? Yeah, let's go.
I'm going to give you one place you're recommended not to go.
Well, you know another.
Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, Robbie D.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's not one of those silent Bidamio.
That's not one of those talking about him the other day.
Who, Bob DeMio?
Yeah, I was scared of him.
He was all me.
Really?
He was one of those smaller guys that it was like, well, I should beat you,
but you're tough and you beat me out.
I don't like it.
It's all go.
We all go.
Bob DeMio.
Our boy.
Look at the Pimzo's guy.
Mike Sorococ.
made his debut for the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday.
Let's take you to the fifth inning.
Soroka is pitching very well.
Zero earned runs.
This is the fifth inning.
The Calgary kid.
It became their mission.
It's been fun getting to know.
There you.
It's a call.
So we're going to miss.
Saddam.
First four.
Bottom falls out.
Right down the middle.
So we can miss.
Oh, that's it pretty good.
That's how you do it.
Immaculate inning, nine pitches, three K's.
There is nothing more efficient.
If you want swing and miss,
then a nine pitch, three K inning.
It is the immaculate inning.
Love it.
Our boy.
I'm proud of them.
I don't like the saying immaculate, isn't it?
It's very hard to do.
What would you call it, Brett?
Lame.
I don't know.
Hey, I choose nine pitches to strike out of the side.
Blame.
I think what I would tell.
I think what's important
what we need to do.
Because what do you have,
10Ks on the night?
Yeah, 10Ks.
Nice.
And here's the thing.
This is how they finished his night.
This guy's dealing like this
and you go to the pen?
Huh?
I think he was at 89 pitches,
but you don't let him go to start the 6th after this.
He's not deadable.
There's,
it's early.
I get it.
You got to manage Mike Soroka.
I'm fine with a manager,
just keeping.
I think we maybe need to go down to
a Phoenix and get our eyeballs.
We could manage baseball too.
We could manage hockey. We can manage baseball.
It's just, it'd be rude not to go congratulate
him and wish I feel like if this is the kind of
local guy, it's a great story.
Someone's got to cover it. It's all that
barn burner karma. Friend of the show.
Someone's got to get out in front of this thing.
Do you think I should pay this
Mampi Bina, this PayPal thing
email? Does that sound?
Mampay Bina needs some dough?
Yeah. No, was he?
Oh, some money.
Did he play for the lightning and the heads?
meant they Pima?
Jack, how's the Steelers?
Pirates, excuse me, season going.
Pirates.
Ah, horrible.
No.
What do you mean horrible?
They got to win the other day.
So the Jays lost their starter,
Cody Ponce, after seven
outs last night.
Looks like a bad knee injury.
We'll see MRI.
It looked bad for sure.
It looked like Dean, Dan,
more ways than one.
It did look like me.
He left on a cart,
which is not what you want to do.
so that meant the bullpen had a long day
and then when the Colorado's were up by a million,
catcher Tyler Heidman came into pitch.
He lasted longer than skeins in his day.
He had the season opener.
They paid all these guys and they still can't hit anything.
That's amazing.
Remember yesterday when Dean said if Ryan was here,
he'd make fun of you?
Yeah.
And then he wouldn't do it?
He's back.
It's bad.
No, no, I'm making fun of scouts.
No.
This is a huge story that needs to be told.
It's a Skeen story.
We love Skeens.
Right.
Old Joe.
World round.
If you tune in to sports that or TSN, they will all have the.
Tyler Hanam.
Paul Skeens.
I want to see the VLO and the ERAs next to each other.
I need a fuller picture than this.
This is context.
It feels a little casual here.
I don't know.
Next.
Friday, April 17th, fellas.
It is back for a fourth year and a row.
The Barberta, playoff draft!
What is it?
Friday? April 70th. The last
day of the regular season, there's no way to know by
looking at the thing. Sure is it. That's why I'm saying
it helpful times in a row.
Regular season will end on the Thursday of the 60th.
We will have our playoff match
up set by Thursday end of
games. Friday, we will gather at
Hotel Arts. Tables of eight.

We'll get you teed up.
Tables at eight, come to the podium to make your selections in round one.
And laugh and chortle as we make fun of people that select Oilers in the playoff dropped,
although that guy won last year.
Yes, he did.
So he's back at free.
He's laughing at us.
It is a prize and free entry next year for the winner of the playoff draft.
Disgusting.
It's gross.
It's despicable.
Found a new hat for you guys.
We loved your Bill's wing hat, but how about Homer in the bush for the Cubs who have the Ivy in the outfield?
I saw this.
That is, I do like it.
Well done.
It's the thing I like about, because you watch the highlights, watching the highlights last night.
Oh, it's still brown.
Oh, early in the season.
That's right.
Some early games at Wrigley because the Ivy hasn't grown in yet.
Classic.
Love it.
Yeah, I do like that.
We should go to Chicago too and watch a game there.
Sure.
Don't put ketchup on your dog.
I mean, Soroka was a cub.
We didn't get there.
There's a white sock.
We didn't get there.
You don't want to go to the success.
That's very steady.
Finally.
Didn't get to Atlanta.
Said we were going to get there.
I don't like Atlanta.
It's time we get to, uh,
rip you off.
Support our buddy, Mike.
Didn't get to Washington.
I don't keep it last.
It's time for us to go see them for the invite to white house.
Hey, Mike,
Do you have a suite available in Arizona?
Can we sleep in it?
Barnes, right beside the flames playing Anaheim?
Arizona.
A trip?
Anaheim.
Oh, he's in Arizona.
Yeah, I thought the A was a diamond backs.
Oh, whatever.
Angels, different A.
Next.
Very good.
That's your Pender Report this Tuesday, March 31st, 2026.
I know you needed to add to your hat collection, right?
I actually have lost a few lately.
Did you keep the wing hat, the Buffalo wing hat?
Oh, yes.
That's a banger.
Village Honda
There are good friends up in the Northwest
Automol. The prelude is
reimagined and back. We love
to see that. You like

Bob Demile.
Tough, huh?
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Were you watching the Penguins game last night?
Yes, I was. The second
period was nuts.
on your broken TV or?
No, I have.
Yeah, the broken TV.
Penguins score five in the second, seven unanswered after being down three to one.
Anthony Mantha, two more goals.
Monster.
Sony.
Ricky Racks and Brazzers putting up points.
We got a nickname for Mathia yet?
No, we don't.
You need one.
So having a year.
What is he?
29 now?
Jeez.
29, yes.
57 points and 74 games.
Wow.
he's going to get paid
well I was going to say like
Penguins better pay him because if they don't someone else will
he's a you this summer I should pay him
been a good fit yeah
never looked better
never looked better
probably well he's that's
was it Detroit he has one monster here but like this is
unreal right now especially
injury suffered here there was a couple years
you're like I don't know those guys got it anymore
and it's like he looks awesome
it's one of those guys where the skill sets
not the issue right
it kind of isn't Alex Simmons
I'd keep them on one year deals and pay them more than I should just to keep them on one year deals.
No, we're not going to freaking kindersly this week.
It comes get out of you.
Kinder'sley.
Kindersly.
We'll see the Clippers.
Yeah, I'm going to take my long weekend and head out there to, uh, old kindersly check out the clippers.
Kimberley.
Okay.
Kindersley.
Yeah.
No, this time here.
Well, are we done?
No.
Nope.
What's it today? Friday.
Nope. Nope.

Think about a rat.
El Cruncho.
Are they bringing food?
Well, yes, retro.
They just brought food.
Taco time.
It's Taco Tuesday.

Unlimited.
As many as you want,
as many as you can eat.
You just keep them rolling.
Two bucks apiece.

Well, we just changed their bet.
That's where we're going.
Is that where we're going?
All right?
They got the taco shells.
You really came around on the
Mexie fries with the
with the hot sauce.
I don't know if I came around.
I was reminded of how delicious
it is.
I could just for days,
just,
they're making the sauces,
the hot sauces.
They're making that all in store,
the salad bowls,
taco chips.
It's the perfect heat for the retro.
It is.
I don't know what they're doing in there.
But it's,
it's dynamite.
My mouth's so good.
How was the Thursday
Burrito full Thursday?
right. It's not messy. Red 8
8, 2. What? Yes.
Oh, they were good. Chris

So good. And then
I went with the beef and cheese.
Yep. Winners all around.
I had the chicken.
Just the right amount of heat.
The poil.
Boil. Yeah.

We're bitching about things not being, uh,
that's the outlier.
There it is.
Take advantage.
Yeah.
You can do good things at a reasonable price.
It can be done.
Taco Time Canada.com.
We'll have to make the sauces in house.
It makes me happy.
Mm-hmm.
I'm going to go,
Crush it. Yeah. Yeah. See you 100. There is something exciting about it.
Aventyth Avenue taco time.
And Rhett Warner will be signing autographs at time. Hey, what the hell?
See you soon.

Delicious. Delicious. Delicious.
Oh, it's so good. Chris.
I know. Yeah. Yeah.
Does not take much for us to have our date completely.
ruined or turned right around.
Highlights, low lights, whatever.
That's right.

Don't know if you caught this drama on the weekend.
Linus Allmark said to his boys who were in the depth of a playoff chase.
I can't go tonight.
James Arammer came in.
It's been fine for them.
Olmark's taking a lot of heat from the meeting.
media.
You can ask noodles about it tomorrow.
You'll be in tonight, I imagine.
Better be ready now, Linus.
That would be a tough.
Oof.
It's kind of got that wrapies, a little song.
How do you put?
Yeah, I don't know.
Huge game for the Sends.
Panthers, we showed you how hard they're tanking.
They've got half of a cup team missing with injury.
It's got to be the sentence tonight, fellas.
Oh, they're going to take a puck line of plus 145.
And we got a good one.
Domayo Ball, Pastornak, Zaka, and Robertson each get a point.
They each have points in four of the last five games.
You get all get it done tonight, plus 190, a little parlay there on some early action.
It's so great.
Those, I mean, those are great.
I love going in there and you can, well, he's been real good.
And you know what, he's been real good.
Well, let's throw him together.
Oh, there's a number.
Terrific. I like that number.
Good.
Fantastic.
Did you have something to say on Linus or review?
I'm going to keep it in myself.
Yeah, I think it's, you got noodles tomorrow.
We can talk noodles about it.
But, yeah, I know they were talking.
about it on overdrive yesterday.
You got heated. And O'Dog was talking about it.
Jeff O'Neill was not a fan of that call.
He did leave the team for personal reasons.
I mean, there's been a lot of Allmark stuff this year.
Yes. And when you're paying a guy eight in a court,
whatever they're paying him. Right. You kind of want him to be the man and available a lot.
Yeah. And again, in anywhere.
No, if he's away on personally, that's not, that, that is different than what's
happening here, right? This is the...
But it does not mean that when you come back from personal leave that everything's
ship-shaped and fixed.
Nope, definitely doesn't.
But need him now.
I'll see if he's good tonight.
Today is the 31st of March.
I don't know if you're up for it today,
but I think that means that's the end of GMC truck month.
Oh, dear.
Because it's on now.
You said it the other day.
It's truck month, but it's only,
don't be like, don't be silly and wait until the end of the month and be like,
Jeez.
Is that last month?
That's Sierra 1500 Pro Graphite Crew Cab.
Do it today.
Truck Month is on now.
If you want something reliable,
tough and ready for whatever the schedule
throws at you, it's the 2026.
Sierra 500 Pro Graphite Crew Cab in a nutshell.
It can be yours today and you get a $6,000 cash purchase credit.
Could have got one of those for the kids.
Factory 2 inch lift,
off-road suspension, 5.3 liter V.
It's one ready for anything truck.
Don't miss out.
Get to your local GMC dealer and take advantage of truck month before it ends.
I mean,
I don't know if they'll push it back.
Calling a truck month.
And now you're getting the $6,000 cash purchase.
Just go.
I saw the TV ad for him yesterday or two days ago.
That's a sweet looking rig.
Because you're going to want that, Jack,
you're going to want the two inch lift anyway.
You're going to be hauling all those trailers around, Jack.
Right?
You're hauling donkeys in your trailers.
and stuff around.
Dispose of beat up old TVs.
You're going to want that off-road
suspension. You may as well get in
on truck month while they're doing the deal with the
Graphite crew cap. Do it.
All right. I'm glad you
see it my way.
He's on board.
You miss a week. You miss a lot.
Can I just quickly get some clarification on Jack's TV
because I saw an image that was very disturbing.
Well, Jack with... Two words.
Dumb buddies. Dumb buddies.
Jack overserved himself.
Dumb buddies owe him a TV.
No, Jack over served himself and then tripped over the empty bottle and head planted or face planted right into the...
Dumb buddies broke the TV.
It wasn't my TV.
It was my stepbrothers TV.
They paid him for the TV.
He was probably pretty happy about it.
He got $400 Canadian.
Now you're out of TV.
No, it wasn't my TV.
It was my stepbrothers.
And now the dumb buddies own TVs, Ryan.
It's ridiculous.
Coming out the yinger.
Yeah, you've seen my football Sunday setup.
I've got more TVs or dumb buddies
I got more dumb buddies but I got more
dumb buddies but I got lots of TV and I do like
and we found out yesterday the dumb buddies
took the TV with them
they bought as they feel like they purchased
a TV. It's fine now. So there's
they took it with them. They got it
so good.
Super chats
super chats for the
youth centers of Calgary
a little generosity
I'll say again it's spring we're talking about there's not a lot of deals times are tight
it's been a little slow in the old super chats lately a little slow
a true living takes didn't get people wound up today's a little bit today's better today's
better today's coming back around today's coming back around maybe it's because of the guy in the
hat at the end of the table handsome dad he's in 20 bucks two he's going he's going
ten dollars for every flame's goal this season I recognize the benefit of a lower draft
pick but I cannot get behind a team that has given up like Vancouver or Toronto at
least our boys are playing hard, work ethic and give a bleep are important and should never be
turned off.
Charles actually kind of playing well since that whole thing.
It's just that they, when they needed to show some intestinal fortitude, they did.
Yeah.
And to Vancouver, here we are poking holes and handsome down.
Vancouver had one nothing and two one leads last night in Vegas.
You were right, Dan.
Vancouver is 100%.
They've not been cashed out.
Yeah.
There.
I'm with you.
And even last night, I don't think it was the GAF.
I don't think their give a bleep was broke,
just Colorado was ready to go.
It was I can't keep up meter.
It was like, oh my lord.
There's a speedometer issue, not a give a bleep issue.
All right.
Thank you.
Handsome, Dan.
H.D.
CalMav, $10 for the kids.
Who can probably spell Perek correctly and realize how trade him posts are
I roll.
Also read the damn
Jack, the book, Jack.
You have two books to read.
The Bible.
Three, the Bible, yeah.
Oh, gosh.
The Bible.
And the Bible.
It's going to take a while now.
Well, thank you, Cal, for the $10.
I don't understand what he's saying.
He's saying he.
People are saying trade per rec and can't be saying those people
didn't even know how to spell per rec and it's a dumb take.
But yeah, that's his take.
Well, I'd trade him.
Read the damn book, Jack.
Burning takes with Thomas.
1399, fellas!
An in-law of mine insists that
Calgary and Edmonton really aren't that different
and infers that the home of the hippos may be better.
What would be your number one counter to this take?
Having been to Edmonton,
that would be my counter.
Yeah, it's constantly 20 degrees colder.
Windier, colder.
Darker.
Uglier.
Grosser.
More truck nuts.
Dustinger.
Yeah.
More zombies.
Stabbier.
Mm-hmm.
That's a lot.
Any one of them can be the number one counter.
Or we could just...
More importantly, Thomas,
don't let this loser in your home.
Yeah.
It's an in-law.
Yeah, this is not something.
Which means we know how you feel about them.
Yeah, yeah, you've noted it right there.
And if they are,
that Edmonton and Calgary really aren't that different,
then we feel badly for you, Thomas, we're sorry.
You love the cultural capital?
In-law person.
I've never been to Edfest
to wherever that thing was.
Stay there.
Stay there.
This is great.
Don't worry.
I won't bother you.
Yeah.
Thanks, Thomas.
That's a nice, that's a big donation there.
$13.99.
$10 from Flames Work Hard.
Conroy has finally brought to a process at the draft
and moving on from guys.
From 1980 to 93, we drafted six Hall of Fame players
since 1994 when Murray has been
involved. We have drafted how many?
One.
Brought to a
94. I think he.
Not drafted.
I think Chuck will be there.
I don't know.
It's not really accurate because
Mr. Edwards' ownership
stake in 94.
So you've got to be a majority guy.
Then you get, so we don't know when that is.
I don't know that the owner is ruining
draft boards, but I do think Conroy's
done a great job in the last two drafts.
There was also, I mean,
it's not like the flames were
being held up in high regard for how
great they were drafting
for quite a, I mean,
I thought they did a hell of a job in the 80s
and bringing guys from college because nobody else
would. New and Ike?
Sure.
Mr. Otto.
You Otto.
Anyway,
thanks for the $10 contribution.
What were in the draft at Fox.
He's probably fringy hall guy.
He's had an incredible.
He's garbage now.
Famer is not garbage.
He's awesome.
He's shit now.
I can go look at the Rangers with or without him on the ice.
They're above water when he's on and awful without him.
He gets crapped on all the time.
He's so good player.
All right.
Okay.
That's your take.
Thanks.
Yep.
If you like shooting at the other net and scoring goals, he's been good.
The rest of the league's bragging about how good he is too.
That's what you get a lot of right now.
I was people talking about how good fans.
Phelmav, five bucks.
Just wanted to say,
your show just makes the day that much better.
It's true.
It's barutiful,
beretiful.
Thank you for your daily on-time dedication.
Go Jays.
Shut up, CalMouth.
Start for Scher tonight, CalMav.
$5.
You met Jack's book collection trailer,
which is why he needs to look into truck.
That's right.
Thank you, CalMouth.
It's the mobile.
library.
Yeah.
Pro grap the
1500 Sierra
to haul around all your
books.
Mobile library
lifts.
I'm going to build
one of those
library things in front of my house.
See one of those before?
Bookstands, yeah.
You remember the BookMobile
would wheel through?
The Bookmobile
Silverwood Heights Road.
Oh, baby.
Yeah, man.
The Bookmobile.
It was like a van
that was filled with books.
Jack is not going to know what this is.
I know.
I know.
I know.
Does that make me an idiot?
If you went to your small town library,
the books would rarely if ever change.
It's the same books.
Not big libraries, small towns.
But then when,
yeah,
then when the bookmobile would come through.
So there's a whole bunch of different books here.
Look at all these books I've never seen.
Bookmobile.
The people still go to libraries.
Oh, Jesus, Jack.
Well,
they spent $250 million on the one downtown.
I've never.
Yeah,
I hope there's $250 million.
Yeah, Jack, don't get me.
No one.
Kids have been to like two, three libraries in the last month.
Kids always go to libraries.
It's good.
You need them to read.
The literature.
You're talking about kids.
They went to the Palm Springs Library with Grandma and they went to the library before in January.
Cross Park.
Let's go.
Such an awful take.
Such BS.
Twice in their life they've gone to a library.
Twice in last month,
like I said.
Right.
So grandma took them to the library because that's great.
To get about a yard.
need to get these kids out of the house.
What are we going to do with these kids?
They need books.
They go to the library a bunch.
People should go to the ride.
It's a good thing to do.
It might not be sexy or hot like Jack Skrull and the ground.
To answer your question, Jackson, no one goes to library.
None.
No one.
And that library downtown, I have been to that one.
And it's quite fancy and a waste of money.
It's got the fanciest scanning system in the world.
Christ's sake.
Nenshi.
Ken Deliscia.
Yeah, Ken Den Dollars.
Phelts!
This question is for Pinder,
because he's going to argue both sides at the same time.
With Vegas imploding,
what are the odds flames picking twice in the top 10?
Oh, very low.
You could move up 10 spots with Vegas,
but they'd have to miss the playoffs to be eligible
to be in the lottery.
And spots like 11, 12, 13, 14, 14, 15, 16,
you're talking probably less than 4%.
Odds are low.
Yeah, very low.
odds are low. It's possible.
Like, what are the odds even missed the playoffs at this point?
They got a big gap on L.A. and San Jose.
Because this pick is non-protected, correct?
Correct. This is the Hanifan one.
Non-protected. So wherever they finish, that's where you get it.
Unless they make the final four and then it will drop to 2930, 3132,
depending on how they do.
Torts? Don't you go scratch.
Tarts, settle down.
Son of it.
So I would say less than 1% chance.
Now, what are we going to do then if they play Edmonton?
It won't affect the draft rankings until they get to the final four.
Gotcha.
If I'm correct.
I believe that to be true.
Is it really?
I think so I don't know.
You might be right.
I don't know.
I hope you're right.
I don't want to have to be cheering for it.
I don't know that they adjust for round one wins.
I just know I want to keep my opinion and thoughts off of the draft lottery because we saw what happened when somebody was talking about Battle of Alberta wins in January and screw the draft lottery.
we see how that's where it does.
Yeah, they're likely to finish in the bottom three.
It's perfect.
Go get them, boys.
That's the take.
The take is the lottery balls are going to do the lottery balls.
Okay, context.
Look at Kalmav.
Just loving it.
20 bucks, Rhett?
What are you thought on the old Matta?
How's he been playing since joining the flames?
Seems to be all over the place.
Scoring goals.
What about Oli Mata?
It looked good last night.
I like the cut of his jab,
but that was not the highlight.
really wants to show.
No, there's not a lot that were, I mean, we're big on Bristewicz, and he was clicking his heels and
falling down.
There wasn't a lot on the good side.
There was no good side.
No, there was nothing.
Matt has played exceptionally well, much better than.
The goalies worked the gates.
Any of us had thought he would.
Yeah.
Yeah, he looks like a real NHL.
Like, not a guy that should be getting healthy scratch at a time.
That game seemed to take forever.
Because it was so over, so early.
I said, there's still 13, men.
minutes left in the third period.
How many periods are they played?
It is the longest game ever.
God, I can't imagine what it would have been to play in that game.
Bobby Germany had the two.
It was pretty exceptional.
They were on pace at one point to just be shellacked.
With the shots, like 100 to something.
Colorado Avalanche on paced outscore the flames 24-0 and outchute them 102 to 24.
It's been a rough 10 minutes.
That was halfway through the first.
It's the mile high.
It's the mile high.
It's a great club there early
and I've loved to be part of it.
Yeah.
As we used to smell.
There's no elevation in Calgary.
What was your text are at about 10 minutes into the game?
I think I mentioned that probably I'd seen enough.
For nothing.
Probably don't need to watch the rest of this.
There's a lot of hockey left.
And you would have been right.
Yep.
You could have probably just caught a 30, 45 second highlight pack.
Oh, so he also scored.
I didn't even need that.
I saw the 9-2 and I was probably.
Yeah.
Plus I knew we'd talk three today's.
That's right.
Didn't talk a whole lot of torts.
The Vegas, they get a win.
I like the one torts is after the game,
walking down the hallway.
He's like, which way is the room?
He doesn't have left.
Okay, it's in here.
Apparently,
he reached out to Bruce Cassie,
thanked him for having the group in the spot they're in
in terms of,
it's like it's a good room he's coming in too.
There's certainly a lot of we are firing a guy bringing a guy in that are worse spots than third in your division, I'll be at a shitty division.
I don't know. Someone had dug up the numbers on when Torts comes in. There isn't really a new coach bump with him. He's under 500 in his first like five games with each stop. But what do you learn? They need an empty netter to beat the Canucks 4-2. They're the worst team in the NHL. It's just been not enough saves and too easy to get to the scoring areas for other teams. Can you fix that? We'll see.
So I'm a criminon with O'Dog and Jamie yesterday.
How about your goaltending?
Well, I don't, I haven't liked our goaltending, but I like our goaltenders.
They're nice guys.
Yeah.
So I, there is that.
Yeah, that's a good way of saying it, actually.
Well, they had Logan Thompson and Annan Hill.
And Hill was unreal in that playoff run, but since it's not been close.
Thompson would have been the guy because they, I mean, he was found money.
We both were.
Yeah, right.
Hill was like a third rounder.
Yeah.
Let him go.
But you're right.
Thompson had played like,
do you sports hockey or something like that for Carlton or something?
I like you please play for the buffs.
Both Calgary boys.
Do you want to do the tagathon?
I have some people reaching us.
You got to try this different one.
This one looks better.
There's a few other ones that are,
well, we could do that.
All the math's the same.
What's the website of the other one?
No, there's multiple.
I like the
We can
Who we're drafting
better anyway
A lot of D in this class
All of a sudden
So updated rankings this morning
Carson Carroll got hurt
Really?
Carl's
Oh
Huh
Do you want to do the mock draft
Or just the normal
Jesus Christ Jack
You know what I'm going to decide
Yeah
Mock!
Yeah
Paid millions of dollars
That's pretty early from a Holtra
Well we got a Haltra again
Well that's no this is
This is just the stuff.
I don't click sim yet.
This is how we do it from now on, boys.
Jackie Bear!
That's great.
I like that.
There you.
For those that are just listening,
the Flames won the draft lottery and select Gavin McKenna.
Yeah, the simulated one we just did on the show, yeah.
We hope we can repeat this news on May 6th.
Right.
I think people know what we're doing.
They should have it figured by now.
We do it every day.
Yeah.
No, I didn't three times we won the hour?
Once, yeah, it's twice that I've been here.
This is the first time, I don't know, can we trust this one though?
This is now the, you know, because we've been doing that other one.
Can we trust this?
Now we're doing this one, I don't know.
Maybe you better do the other one and see.
I think you're going to keep doing the, uh, the box from now on that worked well.
Hmm.
Well, guess we'll find out.
Yes, we'll find out.
How was the show today, Jack?
Very good.
Ryan, good to have you back.
Thank you, buddies.
Good to see you guys.
Great to have you, Ryan.
So good.
Yeah, awesome.
Drink tacos.
I think we get noodles tomorrow.
I don't mean food.
I'm probably having someone today.
Yeah.
Mr.
Noodles.
Soup.
I like Mr.
noodles.
It's not good for you.
Is it bad for you?
Oh.
It's cheap.
It's cheap.
That is a common threat.
Yeah.
What's bad about it?
Lots of stuff.
Everything.
All of that.
I don't know that there's much.
In the bottom half of the.
ingredients list looks like another language.
That's when you know, it's just the alphabet smushed together.
And it's just what is that.
I don't know what that is.
Phosphorate tridentinal.
What the.
That's it delicious because it.
It smells good.
It's weird how it all comes together and it's so delicious.
Yeah, Jamie McClend will join us tomorrow.
It'll not be a flames game day.
They get two days off.
They'll be hung right to the.
Is their last two day break?
They're one more.
One back to back.
One more two day break.
Dallas.
And then we were looking, I guess, one of the days you were away,
they play the final game of the road trip.
Saturday.
In Seattle and then play Sunday at home.
The next day.
Welcome back, boys.
Welcome home.
But hey, all things coming up, Team Tank.
Everything's coming up.
I'll say, can I say something nice?
Yes.
So yesterday, one of the kids' teams, middle guy,
they got to do a Flames alumni practice.
Awesome.
What kind of alumni?
Out of the dome.
They've thrown.
I wonder how your kids teamed up picked.
Anyway, it wasn't me.
I didn't even know this existed and I'm an alumna.
Who was on the ice?
Staging and Brower.
Oh, yeah.
Nice.
It was good.
Kids loved it.
Stageing such a jerk, though.
Well, he's just mad.
He's got no hair.
Oh, my God.
