Hi, you bodies. Welcome to the program. It is a barn burner here on a Wednesday, the 6th of March as we get into it.
Is it? Nice, sweetie.
The Iids of, yeah. What is the Ids that's, uh, what are the Iads?
I saw the movie. I heard you had bad eyes. What, uh, my eyes are shit. Yeah, they're no good.
No good. Although add it, just add it to the list of things.
Apparently there's been something else that's come up.
You're turning into Jack's car. You need to go to the shop and just get some parts replaced.
Is that what we were hearing here?
Um, well, I mean, you know what?
We may as well involve everybody, a friend of ours, a friend of the program, of course,
joins us every, every single Wednesday on the insider hotline.
It's a presentation of TELUS.
I'm not sure TELUS will want to be part of this, but, you know, oh, God, I'd love to
tell us.

It's Jamie McClennon.
There he is.
Fresh-faced looking, you know, just a sweet boy.
Clint's a sweet boy.
Great job on Saturday noodles.
You drilled it.
It was absolutely awesome.
I couldn't have been more proud of you.
Yeah, it was, I'm more mad at the guy right there next to me
because he would never let me go home.
And I was trying to get sleep.
If you can tell my voice is still struggling.
Yeah.
If there was a, you know, one of those 30 by 30 of leading up,
to the Kipersoff retirement.
Yeah.
You know, like body cams, like, you know, people,
I barely crawled up to that podium and barely made it on the plane Sunday morning, but.
Oh, man.
I can't imagine the flight.
That had to be a tough one.
Well, I didn't fly the plane luckily, so that was good.
That was one plus.
But yes, I made it to the airport and was home for about two days.
And then now I'm in LA, so flew out to LA yesterday.
day and calling the game.
I'm sure you'll be tuning in.
It's Anaheim Ottawa tonight.
So I'm sure that's a banger.
Yeah.
At 830 or 9.
Are they going to do the lottery balls out tonight or do they still wait on that?
Honestly, here's the one thing.
I feel like if you check the amount of scouts in the stands for this game tonight,
it'll be, you know, there's still, I mean, a Terra Sanko just got traded.
I've just reading.
So, but I think that's the first of many for probably both of these organizations.
So I'll be probably checking that scout list.
There's probably 20 deep.
But, you know, getting back to it?
Yeah, I barely made it through the weekend,
but it was a lot of fun.
It was great to see some old and new faces.
And I thought it went well.
I don't know how you guys felt,
but the ceremony and the fact that they came back to in the game,
they made a game of it.
I thought that the night couldn't have gone better.
I said it the other day.
At the end of the day, does it really matter?
But it feels like it matters.
When you have alumni, ex-player,
brass, ownership in the building,
and the fans are celebrating a special time in team history.
And then they came out and they were so bad in that first period.
If you go out with a whimper,
it used to be fun around here,
but maybe someday down the road will be fun again.
But to come back and instill a bit of that pride,
once again, I thought it was important for the team that night.
Yeah, I agree.
It couldn't have gone better.
You know, that whole night,
I thought that the organization,
did a first class, you know, bang up job.
Kipper spoke really well, too, which I thought that was really cool.
And in speaking to his son, R.O. afterwards, he said that, you know, Mika's a pretty laid-back guy,
but he said he sat and, you know, it's funny, I had 10 pages in front of me.
I kept flipping them and stuff.
Mika had one and he kids turned it over.
And he said, R.O. said Mika sat there with that piece of paper, you know, on Saturday and must
have read it over a bunch of times.
And I kind of, my biggest worry about my speech is they asked me for 10 minutes.
And I, when I would rehearse it, I was always right about bang on like 950 or 1002.
And then they said, well, TV is like you better factor in like pauses for applause.
And I knew I was going to.
Especially for a guy like you with so many applause braids.
A lot of singers.
I don't know about that.
I tried to power through it.
There was only one time where I kind of like, all right, let's keep this moving when I was said it was in.
type of thing and then I knew the crowd was going to get into and start chanting and was in and
I was like I got to power through this I was like all right all right let's go let's move
along here let's worry about the guy at hand but I thought it went went well it was really fun
you know the luncheon on Friday was fun lots of stories told and um you know now we'll see what
they do you know Hannafins on on deck here and and uh you know maybe marksham I don't know
what the deal is there but or maybe another player I'm I still always think about this when
you're looking at organizations and if you're in not retool mode, whatever you want to call it,
maybe it's somebody else on deck there that we're not pointing to.
We're not thinking about.
And all of a sudden, the team goes, I want that guy.
And he might have another year left on his deal, but that might be the guy that puts us over the edge for the next couple years.
So be interesting to see what unfolds here in the next, you know, three, four days.
Yeah, Medi Pan is the guy that checks that box.
One year left, eat half the money, make them less than three.
and they're just swimming with wingers,
and he's on that safe spot on the lineup
next to Backlin and Coleman.
That, to me, it feels like exactly the guy you're describing.
Yeah, I agree.
And he would be a nice ad because I think he's a guy that,
you know, given an opportunity,
you can probably push up in the lineup
and want a little bit more responsibility as well.
So the Tarasenko deal done this morning,
I guess just your thoughts on it.
You cover that team almost exclusively.
Off to the Florida Panthers,
the team, the Ottawa,
eat,
50% of it, they get essentially a third and a fourth, a conditional fourth.
Not a great return.
It's worth mentioning that he had some no trade stipulations in there.
He wanted to be on the East Coast, be closer to home, that sort of thing.
So it's probably a little underwhelming maybe for Ottawa fans, but Tarasenko leaves today.
Yeah, I mean, you do get, you're right.
That's the one word I've heard was, man, could you have gotten more?
You know, for a guy who has close to 100 games, playoff experience, won a cop.
you know, has scored in this league pretty consistently.
I thought Ebenton take a swing at that because, you know,
Tarasenko is a shooter and, you know, maybe some a winger to play with dry sidal.
But again, you know, you take a deal to the player and the player goes,
I got a no move.
And no, I'm not going there.
I'm not going there.
So just reading Chris Johnston's tweet, basically kind of softening that saying,
keep in mind with the underwhelming return that the player had a lot of.
lot of say. So he basically called his shot and said, I want to go there, make it happen type of
things. So good on him. I mean, the senators, like I say, I think that should be the first of
a couple moves here as they kind of try and add to their group and add to their core. So a third
and a fourth, if he's a guy that helps a deep team already, that's a pretty darn good deal for
Florida. I'll tell you that. Yeah, they're kind of mapping out lines. So if you've got Bennett,
Kachuk and Teresenko in your second line and then Verhagi with
Barkov and Reinhardt on your top line. That's the thing you see. That'll be all right.
You know, before I moved on, it was just kind of front of mind. Talking with right over the last
few days, going back to last week and being around everybody, including being around Jerome and
Conroy and the two of them together, I know there'd been a lot of conversations with so much,
you know, Connie's the GM and Jerome's in the mix and all of that. What was it like seeing those
guys that you're very close with that are now executive in the league that good friends of yours
they're calling shots and making swings and yeah they got to deal with no trades and ownership and
teams and all this sort of thing what was it what was a few days like because i know that had been
lots of talking about what here's what you should do cody and i can hear that you should do yeah there
was a lot of you know hey you should uh it's so funny like even talking to connie i i had gone into
his office a couple days earlier and we were just BSing and I told him I said like I'm not going to be
one of those guys telling you you know what you should be doing I said you get enough of that he goes
you go to the grocery store and somebody points out something that you know you got market yeah
but you know that's that comes with a job in a passionate market a Canadian market where people
are educated about it um yeah there were conversations you know red or you were there was
conversations like Connie what the hell you're doing like having fun with them obviously not
giving them crap but you know what are you doing with this player what are you going to do you got to do
this and and you know my uh my always takeaway is that iggy and connie are like this this old couple
that just bicker you know they they've been they've been like that since they were 25 like when
they they've always been very close but i think the best part about the both the two of them
is they look at hockey differently which is i i've always agreed with this
I don't know how you guys feel.
If you had a management team, I want contrarying opinions in the room.
I don't want a bunch of yes guys.
I felt like that was evident for years.
You had the boys on the bus in the room.
And it was Kevin Lowe and Mack T and Pendergrass and all these guys.
And it was just they all felt the same way.
So you never got somebody that was like, hold on a second here.
Let's look at it this way.
And then analytics people started coming into the mix and they give you different views on
underlying numbers and stuff.
So to me, in a management group, it's great to have people that have differing thoughts because they challenge you.
And they get you to think outside your own comfort zone and outside the box.
And I think Iggy's really good for Connie.
But, you know, the fact that Iggy's still not, you know, living in Calgary right now, he's still coaching and stuff.
You know, the day-to-day rigors of being a manager, like there's, you know, we're not privy to what goes on, right?
So the amount of pressure that's on these guys, ownership down,
you know, manager down to the coaches, coaches to the players.
It's a daily grind.
So I love seeing it, though.
I thought it was awesome.
I loved seeing the guys.
And yeah, Connie was, you know, as usual, taking heat from everybody.
But it was still the same Connie, still the same Iggy.
So it was really good to visit with them for three days.
There's a lot of, I'm not trying to stir up any shit.
There's a lot of cooks in the kitchen because now Jerome is,
obviously now that his kids are doing their thing,
and we knew this was going to be. He's got his
kids in hockey. They're all going to be doing their thing.
His daughter's doing great things. The two boys
are obviously on their way.
Now he becomes more involved
starting next season. Then you've got Craig and you've
got Brad Pascal, right, is still
around. Then you've got Domelone and you've
got Dave Nonas in there.
Two former GMs there.
Like you say, you want the sounding board
but I just wonder
it, if Conroy had his druthers, he was going to pick, do you need that many guys?
You want that many guys involved.
I'm not sure.
I think it's fine to have that in the room, but you have to be strong enough to go,
appreciate your opinion.
This is what I want to do.
And then you have to sell it to, if it involves money, which it always does, you've got
to sell it to ownership, the ownership group going, I want to do this, and this is the reason
being.
So you do have probably a lot of, we'll call it markers that you've got to get through.
to make a move. But that's that's the lay of the land. It's everywhere. I mean, even Ken Holland
probably wants to make a deal, but he's got to run it through Jeff Jackson, who's got to run it
through the owner. And, you know, everyone, there is still boys on the bus up there that are, you know,
sounding in and stuff. So I think every manager has that team in place. But ultimately, if you're
the general manager, you have to make that call. And you've got to dig in. If you want to,
If you want to make a call that is may not be the most popular, you got to find a way to do it.
So we'll see what Connie does here in the next couple of days.
I would imagine they'll be hunkered down and kind of radio silent for a few of them.
But I would be shocked if the flames weren't front and center in being active.
Well, and when this job was vacant, we saw Tray Living move on.
It just felt like it was going to be Connie's because, A, he'd put in the time and they'd been grooming him for the job.
B, it just felt like managing upward and understanding the nuance of how this team is owned and run was a big part of it.
Like someone that hadn't worked in this organization, their head might be spinning right now.
Connie at least knows how things have worked around here for a decade and a half.
Yep, you're right.
There is, you know, a pecking order.
There is a way that the information flows.
And if you're not privy to that, you know, for example, Brad Tree Living going to Toronto, I'm sure that was a
an eye opener because you I remember looking at their front office if you go on
Toronto Maple Leafs.com they list all the people that work for the organization I think it's
like a hundred and forty five people yeah double or triple his staff here for sure it's it's
basically everywhere double or triple but you you know tree all of a sudden has to develop
relationships with all these people and you got to figure out who you trust who you don't like
who you could probably move move past eventually when their contract is up with connie it's
familiar. He slides left. He was in the right chair. He slides left. But he's privy to how the
information, how the team works. And now he's going to probably develop his own style, which is great.
Everyone has their own style. But you still, how things unfold, there's probably a pecking order of
how that does. And that's reporting to, you know, Murray Edwards reporting to, you know, John Bean,
the president, that type of stuff where, you know, I'm sure they've, they've had that process.
and Connie knows it because he's been there the whole time.
To whatever degree you're comfortable, and I'm not looking, again,
I'm not really honestly looking to stir anything up,
but what do you make of the week of Jacob Markstrom in Calgary?
Because we talked about it before.
Oh, now Dustin Wolf has been jettisoned to the team in New Jersey,
and maybe something's going on and then no, it's because Vodar is injured.
And then about a week later, it sounds like there was something close with New Jersey.
And then a few days later, well, Jacob Markstrom,
he thought he was going to New Jersey to the point he was.
He was asked to wave and waived his no trade.
And then it was Kai Bosch.
There's all kinds of stuff out there.
But I guess just wondering your thoughts on what looks to be a near deal with New Jersey.
And here we are on a Wednesday, a little more than two days out.
You resuscitate this thing.
Is it dead?
Is there hurt feelings?
I'm just very curious about where everything's at.
The only thing, I'm going to work backwards from it.
The only thing, because I'm not privy to the information, but I was disappointed in Jacobs' comments.
that day. Was it Friday morning? I think it was.
Yeah, day before too, right?
You know, and it's, he hadn't spoken in a while. It was Mika Kipersoft's weekend.
And I just, I, I, I, I, I, I'm sure there was some frustration. And I think, I'm sure
the moment got caught up on, in the him. And I understand, listen, he's got to worry about
himself, his family, his future, all of that. But when you're, when you're in a scrum,
talking about Mika Kiprasoff and then, you know, the scribe asked you about it.
He could have pushed it another day.
He could have pushed it to Monday's media and say, listen, frustrated, but this is about Mika.
That was the only part I was disappointed in.
But again, the players allowed.
And the players, if he's been going through this range of motion of what you're just talking
about, asked to be waived, going through that, probably having to talk to his friends
and family and his wife and he's got a kid and all of that, I'm sure the emotion
got the best of him. That being said, if there's a great deal out there, you always have to look at
everything. And that's being a good manager. If New Jersey's willing to move heaven and earth
to get a goaltender, okay, what do you got here? Like Markstrom would be, even if he's available,
he would be the best goaltender available and he still controls where he goes. So it's kind of a
moving target, but I don't know. Two days here, like I still think there could be something.
maybe at the last second, you know, Tom Fitzgerald fires the coach, you know.
Pressure's on.
Pressure's on.
Next thing is, you know, you bring in players.
And, you know, Travis Green has a long history with Jacob Markstrom.
And Greenie's been known, you know, Greenie's been known as kind of the Markstrom whisperer
because he had him in Syracuse, Syracuse.
He's had him in Vancouver.
So if there's ever a comfortable place for Markey to go, it might be New Jersey based on
the relationship with the coach.
Again, what is the organization thinking?
That's the biggest thing.
There might be a thought process to keep Markey
because maybe those deals are there this summer.
Well, I don't know.
Yeah.
The organization still has to get a return for an asset.
It's great to be nice to a guy and say he wants to go to Jersey.
But if you want out, I said it yesterday,
wave your no trade.
Like if you're upset that you haven't, you can't get out,
you can waive your no trade.
They can move you.
Yeah, they can move you.
But then, you know, are you trying to do the Teresanko and go, you know, move me there and get the BSS deal from them?
And then maybe the organization saying, well, we might have a better deal.
And I'm just, again, I'm not trying to start some.
We might have a better deal in L.A.
We might have a better deal in Carolina, in Colorado, you know, in Toronto, you name it.
I don't know.
The teams that I've always mentioned that might look for upgrades, right?
So I'm sure Craig Conroy doesn't want a pigeonhole.
himself and go, okay, well, okay, we've asked you to waive, there's a deal, you know, that organization
likes me, likes him from New Jersey, but there might be three other teams behind the scenes going,
you know, we got our hand up here too. And we, you know, let us know what the deal is because we
might be able to beat that. So I think that's the, the noise that we probably aren't privy to behind
the scenes is that, as always, we can have our opinion, but we don't know the facts from behind
the curtain. So that's what I'd love to be privy to be what's going to.
going on behind the curtain and what really is the offers from other teams, not just New Jersey.
Yeah. Meanwhile, Jersey's eight points out. There's three wins in their last 10. It sure feels like
the most likely outcome is revisiting this ahead of the draft in June when contracts roll off
the books, guys get more cap space, et cetera. Now, you sort of talked about player stick handling.
Noah Hanavan does not have a no move, but it sure does feel like he thinks he does here the way
rumors are coming out from his camp.
Well, the only thing I would argue with with Noah Hannafin having some leverage is if you want to get more,
maybe there's an extension in place, right?
That's the theory, right?
Yeah.
In theory, it's like, okay, you want to go to Team X, name a team, and you're going to get him as a rental,
or you're going to get him as a rental with an extension.
So there's a sweetener on top of that.
Are you, you know, you sign a trade, however, however that's going to.
to work. But I think that's where some leverage is. If Hannafin goes, you know, trade me,
but you might be able to get more for me if you trade me to that team because I want to
sign their long term. So that would be my only leverage point for Hannafin. Other than that,
you can trade them to Arizona tomorrow and see you later. And Arizona gives you X for that
player. But if it's calculated and you want more in a package, then, you know, it's this trade
and sign, sign and trade, however you work it.
And the player goes there long term and you move on and you get assets for them
and you continue to retool, rebuild, however you want to phrase it here for Calgary.
So the fear in the fan base is that Tampa doesn't have a lot of assets.
That might be one of the barest cupboards for prospects and they don't have a first till
2026.
We sort of joked about it with the Zedorov trade.
They got a 2026.
That's like, that's a 15 year old.
You just got back.
Like you're waiting a long ass time.
If we're thinking a player's peak is going to come summer.
22 to 25. You might need nearly a decade for the return to make a big impact on your roster.
Does that move the needle for you? Like the concern is Tampa doesn't have the pieces. And if
no is trying to get there with an extension, what the hell they're going to offer?
Yeah, I agree. Because you're right. You are trading for a 15 year old. And if you are,
if you want to do, I don't know what they'd be looking at, but are you trying to do a Rangers retool,
you know, kind of on the fly, say, hey, we're going to bottom out, but we got some good players
here we're going to just continue to add get younger as we go like the rangers were able to turn
around pretty quickly now they had a rock star goaltender to do that they you know they're and showed up
yeah that helped box yeah yeah so you get these players you're right like that adds to it but if that's
the the kind of template you're looking for to your point pender uh a 2026 you know first rounder or
you know when you start looking at guys that are way down the road that's not going to help you
team even by the time the new arena is built.
Like to me, if you're rebuilding, I'd be focused on when the doors are opening on that new
arena and you ought to be a rock star team.
So that it kind of coincides.
And to me, if you're getting assets that are so far down the road from Tampa, you're
right, it might be a 10-year window before you realize stuff.
And that's not going to be good for anybody.
What do you make of the word coming out of Vancouver that they're contemplating,
moving Elias Lindholm to try and get Jake Gensel.
They got, they've had him for a month.
And granted, it hasn't been a great month for him.
But they're still a very good team.
They're playoff bound.
But it's amazing to think that Linholm could potentially be on the move again.
I don't know.
It's just the word that's out there.
It's crazy.
I, when I read that, I kind of chuckled, but I was like, good for Vancouver.
Like they, you acquire guys.
and if you think that
either internally
that you have somebody that can play there
or if he's not a fit,
if you've seen something and you're like,
this guy's not the fit that we thought he was going to be.
And we think Gensel, obviously,
Jimmy Rutherford has a long history with Gensel.
It might be the cost of doing business going,
you know, we were going to move another asset.
This is the guy that, you know,
is going to get it done, money and money out.
I don't know.
I thought that was really weird.
Now, again, how did I read that,
Linholm was going to somehow end up in Boston.
Yeah, I was going to be a three way.
I mean, this is some crazy speculation, but point being, he's a month in.
And, you know, there are, we've already had rumors about
potentially being on the block.
Like, kudos for the Knox are being honest about what they're seeing.
But also, Jesus, that's a lot of assets for two guys.
You don't really like it sounds like.
Yeah.
But if you end up, it's funny.
It's almost like a game, like you're playing Monopoly.
You're like, okay, I've got these, I've got Baltic Avenue.
but I just I just acquired them but I'm going for Pennsylvania now so you're like you know it is moving deck chairs around but why not be proactive if you're having a season and again the cost of doing business and now Jimmy Rutherford has always been a guy who's not been shy to swing for the fences now Pittsburgh is feeling the wrath of you know him emptying the cupboards oh yeah every deadline every deadline going all in I don't think and and
I'm not going to take credit for it. On this show, on my show, we have a saying that you never
have to apologize for winning, like when you go all in. Jimmy Rutherford won in Pittsburgh.
They are paying the price now of an agent core, empty cupboards, all of that. So that's going to
take a long time to get sorted out. Jimmy Rutherford's gone. He's now trying to win in Vancouver.
And it seems like he's not shy to empty the cupboards and go, okay, what do we got here? Let's
continue to add. So you're right, it does sound a bit weird. I may not be my first choice to
flip an asset that you just got and maybe allow him. Like I always say sometimes it takes a guy
half a season to settle into his environment, settle in with chemistry with teammates, getting to
know the city. Like everything is just new to you. So you don't just hit the ground running.
Lynn Holmes a hell of a player. But is he the guy that they want when push comes to shove? They might
have somebody internally going, I really like, you know, Pia Souter there instead of,
which I don't think you'd be an upgrade, but it's like maybe he's a better fit if we can
add Gensel.
So that's a-
But he's a UFA.
They're not going to keep him at the end of the year.
It's about what are we doing between now and the time the cups lifted in the air?
If we can, if it's not a fit, then all right, pivot, let's go.
We got a couple days here.
Boston needs the center.
It feels like a long shot.
But you were on here about two months ago.
And I think the analogy you painted was Elias Lian,
Lindholm was driving down Highway 2, just throwing buckets of cash out his car window.
He's still throwing that cash out the window.
Not as he ever.
It's getting to the point, I wonder if he doesn't take a one-year deal and try to pick his
spot to bounce back.
Like, Jesus, he's 30 having a miserable year.
This is what bothers me.
And I, listen, I'm not, I'm not as advisor.
I'm not his agent.
You know, I think of guys and we always hear these horror stories of players, you know,
this guy turned down a six-year deal at five-year.
Who?
Clemberg in Dallas.
John Clingberg.
He's looking at 40 million bucks or something.
He said, nah, you're screwing me.
I'll go sign a one-year deal in Anaheim.
He's out of the way.
He's out of the game.
Same thing.
Cody Franz and I think turned down a deal in Toronto that was like
four and a half million a year times six.
And he played one more year at like a million bucks and kind of like
hung around a bit.
Ryan DeZingle, I think I believe the same thing Ottawa had offered him.
He scored 20.
Ottawa had offered him like $4 or $5 million a year.
I think it was a five-year deal.
Bounce around Carolina.
I think he was in like Arizona or no, Arizona or something like that.
But the point being, it's how much is enough?
Like that's what kind of bothers me is if you feel like you have all this leverage,
I've always been, now maybe there's just me as a player.
I always wanted security because I knew what I was as a player.
These guys are better players and have more cachet.
But at what point is enough is enough?
Even if you sign a long-term deal,
we see nowadays you can move deals.
People just get creative.
So even if he signed an extension and they wanted to move or if he wanted to put his
hand up and go, you know what, it's not for me.
Can you move me out, please?
And we'll figure it out.
You see contracts get traded all the time.
So you're right.
Like back to my analogy.
You guys have been throwing money out the window on Highway 2 for months now.
I don't know if he'll ever get back.
I hope he does for his sake, but I don't know if he will.
Well, do we believe that that deal that the flames offered was eight times eight?
I don't know that we ever got a firm number.
That felt like the neighborhood, didn't it?
But it's $64 million.
At times it was like nine maybe.
You're like, ooh.
Well, I think that his ask.
They wanted.
Yeah, we talked.
The ask was nine.
Which, no chance.
The flames were in that eight neighborhood.
Let's call it eight.
If it's eight times eight, now you're going to the summer.
You're getting seven years, max.
You're not getting six years.
You're not getting seven times seven or seven times eight this summer.
And if it was eight times eight and he turned that down, I don't know.
Like shame on him.
You're looking at 20 plus million here, guys.
If he gets the long term deal.
If he can even get the long term deal and play better.
If he doesn't have to adjust to get him.
Yeah.
Now you hope you go on and you have success and it's a better story.
But right now it's kind of in the down.
trend, it just doesn't look good.
And now if he plays better in Vancouver and goes on, great.
If he ends up getting traded to a team like Boston, that they're a damn good team, too.
So maybe he has some success and gets, hits that free agent market if he runs.
But right now it is a downtrend for him.
So for me, I'd be like, I would have taken the eight times eight every day of the week and
just move on with life.
I agree.
Obviously he's made a mess.
Clarity.
Really crystallized as we watch this season go on.
Again, he has a good series that changes everything.
I think it's more than a series.
I think he needs three series.
They've got to win two playoff rounds and he's got to be a focal point.
We said it, Nudels.
When there's four teams left and all the GMs are watching,
like if you can just get into the Final Four,
there's one game a night,
everyone's eyes are on it.
If you play well then,
no one gives a shit,
but what happened in January.
You're right.
Your stock goes up because people remember plays.
They remember because you're right,
the whole league is watching.
Every night.
They're winners.
And you want a piece of that.
Like Blake Coleman's a winner.
Yep.
And, you know, Blake Coleman's having a career year, but like he's a winner.
That was first thing Darrell Sutter said about, you know, Blake Coleman's won.
Trevor Lewis has won.
Like that's, you know, that's what his thought process is.
You go and win or you go and contribute in the playoffs.
Then you know, like people go, that guy knows how to play at the most critical time.
So again, I, there's no.
no doubt right now, Lynn Holmes going to the playoffs,
unless he gets traded to a non-playoff team.
Outside of that, he's got an opportunity to salvage his season,
whether it's in Vancouver or somewhere else.
I do want to let you go.
We've had you on, but it's going to.
Rhett told us about when you guys were all in the room on the weekend,
and Big D walked in, and just the respect,
the commanding of respect that he just gets.
What was it?
When's the last time you saw it, Daryl and spent any time with him,
and then to see him on the weekend.
So I saw him when he was coaching,
you know, Calgary was in Ottawa,
so we spent some time there.
So it was the previous year.
We'd text.
I always try and shoot Daryl a text,
and he's good.
He'll get back to you like,
if it's not that day,
usually within a day.
Usually my texts are later at night.
So it'll be the next morning.
Spelling errors.
Sounds like it was a fun time,
you know, type of thing.
Send him a picture if I,
like me and Hanlon,
I've had a few drinks or we're out at my house or something.
we'll send him a picture thinking of you type of stuff.
Darrell's great.
Red is 100%.
It was like, I don't know.
If there was like a mafia movie,
Don Corleone walked in.
Like that was,
everybody pushed back from the table,
formed a receiving line,
and Darrell just walked through.
It was,
and it speaks to,
and I hope that,
and it sure sounded like the fan base was like
very gracious,
very excited to see them.
I think it understands that.
Great cheer.
They had a bad season last year,
and Darrell was driving the bus under it, unfortunately.
But people know how great of a person he is and how great of a coach he is.
And I think people look back and go,
well, maybe last year just wasn't the coach too.
There were some deficiencies with some players.
So all I could think of when he walked in,
like it was great to see him, the respect.
Now, I didn't notice it until Red actually pointed it out.
He said, did you see that?
And I was like, God, I never thought about it because it was just like,
Darrell's arrived and everybody, like, everyone stopped and just, we were all talking and just got up and went to pay our respects and have our conversation with him.
And then throughout the night, it was awesome because, you know, Darrell was Darrell.
He was, the best thing about Darrell is he gets to know somebody personally and he has a memory.
So he, he knew my dad, my dad's passed away over 10 years now.
He knew my dad flew planes.
And he, and he said, do you remember when your dad flew?
down like he always has like a little nugget he's like Jamie great to see you how's your family show
me pictures your kids blah blah blah and then he goes remember at that time your dad flew down in that
little plane to see you and i was like yeah you know what like i forgot about it but darrell remembers
it like just stuff like that it just really you know makes my like like i actually gets goosebumps
thinking about it because darrell's just like he's that type of person and i i was disappointed
it last year with how things ended and, you know, for him and all of that.
And listen, he brought some of it on himself.
There's no doubt in my mind.
I think we've talked about it.
But if you know the fabric of the person and you know what he's like, it was just great
for him to be around Saturday.
And I know Mika was really excited to see him.
Very cool.
So you've got your own show today.
So do you get any Anaheim, any son today?
Or what are you got to do?
Anaheim.
Got to love it.
I am, I am, I am, seen,
Manhattan Beach on a golf course. And I don't know if I will, you didn't go outside today.
I mean, I might. I just worked out. And, you know, me and the sun, what the hell am I going to do?
Let me sit on the patio for us, noodles. It's minus 20 here. Come on. Me and the sun. I don't know. Like, it's sunny.
Like, I don't know. Where do you fit that your big sun hat? Is it your carry on? Because you travel all the time.
I'll probably wear my tutsies too.
I have. Honestly, I don't know. I've got to get to head down to the rank. I didn't, I didn't go to
morning skate this morning. I wanted to make sure and just stay tight. But, you know, I'll do the game
tonight and then L.A. tomorrow and then on the red eye. So it's a quick turnaround. But, you know,
these games do have meaning for the Kings especially. And then, you know, with Ottawa heading up
to the deadline, you know, it'll be interesting to see who they keep out tonight even. These next
two games.
Like, you know, is Chikrin play?
If there's, if there's a deal that's quote, you know, that type of stuff.
Those are the things that you start to look at in these next couple days,
our guys can be sitting down.
I want to ask quick, because I know you've got to go and bug you forever.
Could Chikrin be a fit here?
If they move Hannafin and get a haul and they still don't want to give up on the season,
chicken's got another year, correct?
Would he be a guy that you could bring in and have a test run with?
Absolutely.
and he's a guy who can play 23 minutes.
Now, big shot, you know, can work on a power play on a one-timer situation.
He's a monster.
He's built like a Greek god.
Like, I'm not lying, like he is huge.
But he's built like you, Red, just the same.
Same body.
Oh, geez.
But he's defensively, he needs somebody, he needs a stable guy to play with.
Because he is, you know, some of his reads.
Like you're out there like, holy smokes, where was that?
Like he's going north.
Like, you know how sometimes you watch Evanton, Evan Bouchard's going north
and the place going south and you're like, where's that guy going?
Like, there's been a few times with Chikrin where his reeds are off.
He's got this big long stick and he's strong on pucks.
But you just wish if he had a little bit shorter fuse,
if he had Robbins fuse like where he had a mean in him and Rett's fuse,
like he'd be a force.
But you're right.
But he's 25 years old.
Even Molly, like, if you could get him,
if you move Hanifin out and you spin him in,
he might be a fit because he certainly can play top pairing
or top four minutes easily every day of the week.
He can handle it and he's a good skater.
The only thing, too, is he's a guy who gets nicked up a lot, right?
He's had some health issues.
I feel like sometimes we've played with guys like that.
they're so built, but they can't stay healthy.
It's like, I don't know, you pull a muscle, you do something where other guys,
you know, Phil Kessel played 82 games in all life.
Yeah.
Doesn't believe in the water.
Yeah.
William Nealander just plays 82 games.
That's it.
Like that's just guys like that.
But, you know, Chikrin's had a little bit of the injury bug.
But he would be, if you're looking to turn and have, you know, a guy on a,
more contract and get a free look at four and a half.
million, he would be a guy I would covet, yes.
Everyone raved about the job on the weekend noodles.
You did awesome.
Just enough, some self-deprecation in there, some humor, but yet you still, you said last
week, I don't want it to be a roast, and you nailed it.
So great job.
And thanks for as all being on with us, man.
I had one joke.
So because of time, I had to pull it.
I was going to, so I took a shot at Iggy.
I took a shot at Robin.
I took a shot at Connie.
And I had won at Rat.
and I was going to talk about how his arms got longer and longer,
and they dragged around on the ground.
But I couldn't get the punchline on it, so I pulled it.
So I wanted those to be like quick little shots at the guys who were sitting there.
And I had one on red.
I pulled it.
I had one on jelly sitting there on ice bags because every time he turned around,
jelly had ice bags or got stitches.
Like jelly got stitches going to McDonald's.
That's what he was like.
So I, and then I wanted to keep the tagline where Darrell pulled me.
I thought that was good.
It's a great line.
Yeah, it's the best line.
Yeah, good stuff.
Appreciate your pal.
We'll talk to you next week.

It was a great.
You can workshop that.
that Rhett joke. We could try that next week.
I was going to say, we could bring it in.
He's not that funny.
He's got long arms.
Yeah, yeah.
Those knuckles, dragging those knuckles.
But again, that's the marquee of good comedy.
Less is more.
You cut out what you don't think is going to work.
You end on a high note.
He nailed it.
Yeah.
Definitely.
Excellent work.
Do you want to follow up on chickering here?
Do you know or no?
No, if you guys had something.
Because I, I don't.
So how much of his circus has this been with Hanifin in the last year of his deal?
deal. Like, is it wearing on Connie?
Like, you already have Kuzmenko and Sharon Govich in their walk years next year.
Do you really want just one year of Chickren in the one year where you, it's probably best
to be in the bottom 10 so that that pick doesn't go to Montreal from Monaghan.
It's Florida's instead.
I just, I don't know that Chickren lines up.
Do you like the player?
Yeah.
Would you fit here?
Sure.
The one year you're getting them is probably the one year you'd want them the least in a way.
I'm less worried about what Chickren would do to your, your, your,
chances. Like, I know we talked about it yesterday and you feel like you got to strip that,
you got to put people out there with those, you know, stroller things and they can barely
keep their balance so that you finish. I don't think Jacob Chikrin is going to take you out of
the, out of the bottom five, I just think it's very negligible. Um, I just think you're,
it's not going to be, you're not getting them for a fifth or a fourth. It's going to be a second or
more. They moved multiple first for them a couple of years ago. Right. So it's going to be very pricey.
it just doesn't seem like in this life where they are in their life cycle,
this is the time to spend young players and picks to go get the D-E man.
A couple of years, man.
I just wonder if they still want to make the playoffs.
I, yeah, and again, this comes back to what I said a week ago.
My fear is, is that they start making moves that reflect that rather than what we think
for the last year has been prudent.
I get what you're saying that they're going to have all these guys that they have to
sign or trade next year, too, but what does a difference?
They either turn out and you're having to.
happy to pay them and they'll sign them or you trade them and give more picks.
Yeah, no, for sure.
Like if you trade for chickering and he doesn't fit in here,
are you going to trade like,
I know there's talk that Ottawa might not get back,
but they spent to get them.
And that that would be the only downside was if you gave them a first,
and he was so bad or injured that you couldn't trade him next year for a first.
I don't know.
Or he comes in and dominates your,
actually makes your power play go from 14.
percent to he'd be the best shot they'd have on the power from the blue line for sure um yeah i'm just
i'm not quite i don't i am more worried about that top 10 pick than other people seem to be but
we'll see they really have two top four defensemen as it stands um so there's certainly a need um
when do you want to fill that need how expensive do you want that to be because is chickering
feels like a we're a contender we're one piece away type ad are you going to outbid a contender for
this guy that gets a little scary yeah you're right see it's i don't i i hear
not conflicting, but you hear different things about chikrin.
Is that the guys agree, God, but is his brain.
He doesn't think it as well as he should.
He's got a great shot, but he just thought that.
We've thought that about Hanifin at times,
where it's like, why with all this skill and talent,
is he not getting 80 points and running power plays?
Defensively, he's not perfect at all.
But if you're a team that's got someone like a Tanna,
if you can put next to him, I think he's awesome.
And why? I still go back originally.
Why would Arizona have traded it?
him.
Well, because then you're looking for young players.
Well, when's their window to win?
He's a free agent in the year.
They knew they were probably going to lose this guy.
He wasn't fitting the age of that group they want to win with.
And he had an incredibly low number deal as a guy that was flirting with 20 goals on the blue line.
They're like, we can sell this guy and get a haul because he's way under market with a lot of term left.
Now, they shopped them for over a year and finally they moved on it.
It wasn't the bonanza they thought it was, but they still got a lot of assets there.
I mean, it made sense to me why they moved.
But yeah, he's certainly not a number one.
He's not your best email.
And probably, you know, my, it's a curiosity thing with, again, like No, No, Intel.
There's no.
No, yeah.
It's a, all right, well, if they were trying to make the playoffs and they are that close and they were playing well and to send a message to the team.
Yeah, we moved Hanifin, but we brought back a guy that can play and help or power play.
And he's 25.
And maybe we can re-sign him if it fit.
It's a really good fit.
I don't know.
I mean, we still want to house some sort of team.
It checks the boxes that you noted there for sure.
And like, look, you have Vancouver's first.
That could be somewhere between, it's most likely going to be 27 to 32.
They're going to finish high enough in the standings that even if they weren't one of the last four teams standing, it'll be just outside of that.
So if you're looking at this draft class and say, you know what, that kind of feels like a second next year.
Let's move it for and test drive this kid.
And if Chikrin doesn't like it, it's not a fit, shit we'll sell them here.
Yeah, I see it.
I just, I wonder about the desperation of a Tampa vexie.
Vegas and how you outbid them.
That's one chickering to go around.
Their jobs to get the most from.
Yeah.
And I don't think Conroy's approach should be, well, got to get this guy.
I'll outbid Vegas to get this guy.
Yeah.
To me, it was more of a, well, if no one else is interested, do you want to take this?
Because I'll give you this.
And they'll be those this summer.
You've talked about this a bunch.
There'll be teams that are jammed up with a cap, a year left on a good player,
but it's just too much money.
Like, we saw Kevin Hayes go for peanuts.
We saw Shane Gosses bear with a second arrive in Arizona, and they parley.
and they parlayed him into assets later.
See, that's what I...
To add guys without having to move a first and things like that.
That's what I kind of am curious.
If there's a chance for them to do that,
because I'll be curious, when the trade deadline's over,
how many trades will have taken place
that do not have salary retention?
Because this one today, Teresenko, salary retention,
Tanev, salary retention.
We're seeing so many of these deals.
If the flames are in the right spot,
could they land a defenseman?
and get a pick with him for futures.
That's the rest of this season.
That's kind of why I keep saying his name.
That's a guy that Nashville would rather have that space to spend than him there.
And there will be a lot of teams.
They won't know if they,
and maybe I guess you put a guy on waivers or whatever else rather than giving up a spot.
But if it's a one-way D, I don't know.
I'm very curious to see what these next two days are going to be because we always hear,
oh, the cap, it's so hard, they're so hard.
And then we're like, ah, how hard is.
it and then all of these deals because how much 400 grand new jersey kept in the tan
jrese less than 300 they got a fourth round for less than 300 grand and really that's not
that's not bad working on things it's not a ton of dough you would think but um yeah so we've seen
double retention on a couple deals and single retention on the others if all these contenders are at
it man like if you go look at the eight nine 10 teams you think can win a cup they're all right at
the cap single retention seems like the outlier my double.
or no retention.
I was thinking about this last night,
and I was going to be a very clever tweet,
but if you could use a team's desire to perhaps
perhaps you're potentially undo a trade
as the other team winning a trade,
Conroy's done pretty well,
because I would guess now that New Jersey is shopping
to Foley potentially or not shopping,
they're listening, whatever,
maybe they would take Sharon Golich in that third back.
Zedorov,
They were talking about moving him out about a month and a half after they brought him to Vancouver.
You're hearing it about Lindholm here again.
That's not bad.
These are deals that sound like they weren't slam dunks for the other teams.
Dallas was for sure a slam dunk.
And I think the Zadorov one was fair.
If they wanted the third and fifth for Zadorov, I bet you they could get it.
But yeah, the other two, I think you definitely, Igor Shiren Gov, which is more valuable for two seasons plus the third than Tifoli is for the one year.
There's no question.
He's won that deal.
and the Lindholm one shit like it's five pieces wow and if you're going to do the Toffoli one you've got to do the rest of it you got to go get the goalie and fill all the holes and when the D go down you got to like it makes sense if they got some saves this year totally but like they're eight out now like that's that they bought to Foley in to be one of the final pieces of a cup contender like that was why they brought him in was like there's our veteran that's won you know and he's been a great playoff performer in places like Vancouver
or Montreal, Calgary.
Like, that's our one of the final pieces.
And they're going to miss playoffs.
And it was an easy trade for them to make at the time.
Because they had all the, we talked about it at the time.
They had a lot of young players from picking high for a number of years being out of the playoffs.
Sharon Gowicz had tumbled down.
He was expendable in a third round for a 30 goal guy.
Take a shot at it.
They don't do it now, though, wouldn't they?
They would probably undo it now, I would think, yeah.
So people in the, in the chat are, boom, boom, boom's at home.
Boom, it's at home.
You at home today?
Interesting morning, I guess, right?
Because it's still cold.
The travel outside is not great.
Roads are a disaster today.
Roads were not great.
We had an event last night.
We went out, had a good time, got home.
And right before I went to bed, it was, I don't really, that doesn't feel, I don't
feel very good there.
It doesn't feel very good.
And within an hour and a half, I was awake in the middle of the night.
so and really didn't get back to sleep um give an upset tummy what was the issue there oh dear no no no no no no
these things is so whose foot's on the right because that's yours on the left oh dear you might be
able to sell those make some money that don't be getting his way for free here i really debated
whether i got i'm very worried about here um yeah senior goat came for a visit last night and he's
hanging around.
Oh, la.
Sot of a bitch.
And it's in, usually you can, I get it in the ball of the foot.
And it's on, usually the left foot,
big joint, the big, the, on the ball of the foot, that's my trouble spot.
This is in the, the other joint near the, on the other foot.
The knuckle?
Yeah, the little knuckle.
Little thing there.
And, uh, it's red hot.
She's swall right up.
I, I can barely move.
I was coming.
I just got him out of the house.
I was so proud of him.
See, that's what happens.
My body telling me, what are you doing?
I'll show you.
Going out on a Tuesday?
Dude, what are you doing?
And you would have loved it this morning because I hobble downstairs,
get the cup of coffee,
going back up the stairs.
And of course, I stub the tip of my fucking toe on the stair.
coffee goes fly
dogs are running over to see what's going on
get out of hair
shit it's the worst
it is absolutely the worst
what would it be like to age gracefully
do you think people that I don't know
I can't believe look how good he looks for he's he's 70 years old
oh my goodness he ran a marathon last month
did you say age gracefully or die quickly
I miss it anyway
But you guys feel great?
Everything's good with you guys.
I don't know if I feel great, but I'm good.
It's a great time.
Good to see a bunch of the pals from McLeod and La, pay belt, as well as Village Honda.
It was good crew.
I was waiting for my turkey ball.
Two strikes in a row and they closed the damn thing else.
Shut it right on here.
I really wanted more tater tots.
Good tots there?
Maybe today.
Do you guys feel like a quiz?
Do you want to be tested?
How's your, yeah, well, it's not so much that,
but it's just kind of, I saw a thing on online,
and it was out of the NHL teams,
a last player for each consecutive team to have a hundred point season.
Whoa.
Okay.
So we could go through and then we'll do it in four parts.
And you can take it, you can take,
I think it's alphabetical is the way they did.
Okay.
So without showing it, we'll get your guesses and then we'll show it one at a time.
If you're up for it.
Do you think there's enough blood man in the brain?
Let's try it.
Last 100 point score for Anaheim, the Mighty Ducks or Ducks or whatever.
Perry?
That's left.
Arizona.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, do we get them right or wrong?
I'm going to show you after.
Oh, I see.
We'll do the reveal after.
Okay.
Arizona, the last 100 point getter for Arizona?
Which also includes Winnipeg.
I was going to say.
And then later, Winnipeg also includes Atlanta.
obviously. Salani.
Yeah, you're probably right there.
I don't think anyone's done it in Zona.
Boston?
Pasta.
Last year, I think.
Buffalo.
Who, Tage wouldn't have got there last year,
and that means it's a while ago.
Did Breyer or Drury?
I'll go Breyer.
Fontaine?
McGilney, way back, I don't know.
Calgary?
Yeah, Johnny, you could check.
Carolina Hurricanes
Have they ever had one?
I'm going to say they haven't.
Okay.
Chicago.
Patty Kane.
Kane.
And Colorado.
McKinnon.
Yep.
Let's take one.
Yeah.
Solani and Korea for the Ducks.
Back in 98, 99.
You were right with Timo.
He hit 132 and 92, 93.
Pasta, bang on.
92.93 for Buffalo,
McGilney and Pat La Fontaine.
Wow.
I wondered if those good teams in the mid-2007,
I wondered too.
I wondered to.
There's low-scoring era there.
There's a guy when you talk about the Hall of Fame,
Alex McGilney,
pretty good player with 76 goals.
Are you kidding me?
Who is on the outside looking at it?
That's ridiculous.
Goodroo Cucchuk, 21, 22.
Eric Stahl hit 100 on the nose in 05.06.
That's impressive because that was not high school.
He was a rookie or a second year.
Like, he was really young.
That's right, yeah.
The other one of the cup.
Wow.
And you guys nailed the other two, Patty Kane and Nate Dogg.
And yeah, you had Pasternak on both of those as well.
All right.
So the next group, Columbus, the blue jackets.
Nash?
He'd be the only one, yeah.
Thank.
Dallas?
Panarin?
In Columbus?
That's a good question,
I'm just thinking that.
I'll go Panarin.
Ryan gave me a hard time
when I brought up the Panarin.
I don't know why I've blanked on Panarins' Columbus chapter.
I really,
they went all in the deadline that year?
Well,
it's easy to forget about Columbus.
Yeah, and that's probably it.
We're Dallas.
I'll see,
did one of the kids get there last year?
Ben Robertson?
Ben had a couple of huge years.
Ben for sure would have.
I don't think Robertson got a hundred,
last.
Because he had 50 tucks, I thought, are close.
I'll say Robertson just for fun.
Detroit.
Whoa.
That's a good.
Zataberg.
Edmonton, easier.
Yeah, the German and Jesus.
Florida.
Did Kachuk last year?
Yeah, Kachuk.
Los Angeles.
Copa Tarpit.
Minnesota.
I don't know if he's ever got a hundred, but he went.
To freeze off last couple years, maybe.
hundred is a lot of point yeah there was a 15 guys hit last year there's a lot or two years
ago the year that the blame set too oh huberto for florida good and i just saw that
that's he would have 115 for sure uh minnesota you're going caprisov i'm going caprisov he
might not have got there though and montreal this is a hard one not recent we'll give you that
sure i wouldn't you you won't get it so we'll just uh we'll just jump in because it's it's a tough one for
sure. So the Columbus
Blue Jackets have never had a hundred point
player. Can't Nash never got there?
I got Robo, yes. You got Robertson
109. Nice. Federoff.
Federov.
Edmonton had the
three of them because Nugent Hopkins hit
the 100 Kachuk 109 last year.
The great one,
back to 93-94.
Since Wayne. I didn't think
that doubt he did. Yeah, no, Doughty wouldn't have.
Copa would have got close. I mean, Copa-Darra.
Yeah. Rezov did do it.
Rezaw did do it and Matt's Nasland.
Oh, Habs back in 8586.
Oh, God, never.
That's the other one in the cup.
That isn't ages ago.
Which is kind of, I would not have guessed.
I don't know.
Is that a dead, dead puck era, 100 points?
Not 8586 is high scoring as hell.
But what I'm saying is like from then till now has there not been, I'm guessing
there had to have been close.
Well, you think what?
They were, they won the cup in 93.
Like, they didn't have stud there?
I guess a lot of that was kind of balanced, right?
Yeah, it is.
Yeah.
Next group.
We'll go Nashville.
100 point player for Nashville.
I'll say they haven't done it.
Okay.
Borsberg did?
It's a lot of points.
New Jersey.
New Jersey.
New Jersey.
Did Hughes get that last year?
It's not Hughes.
You're going back to the
like Kirk Muller era.
is
McLean.
Islanders.
Oh,
boy.
100 points.
Arzal would not have got there,
I don't think.
Weemer?
A little light.
Career total is their season.
It's not nice to laugh.
That's not funny,
Red.
Big Hugh.
Islanders,
like,
slap me in the calves again.
There's no way someone
is yashin?
Whoa,
that's probably a little
too big enough.
number, but yeah, he had a couple of good years there.
Not any going way back.
Someone is saying Lafontaine in the chat, that would make some sense.
Yeah.
Rangers.
Benarin.
Yeah.
Zabinajad, Kreider, Hotawa.
Hosa.
Alfordson, I'll say just for argument saying.
Philadelphia.
The Giroux?
Oh, yeah.
He was a little scoring era, but he would have the best shot at it.
Well, they were comparing them to fricking.
and Crosby for a while.
Yeah.
There was people winning the scoring title with 90-some points, too.
I think.
Carrow, I'm so I'm going with, because if I go further back, I'm not going to.
All said, Lindrosse.
Lindrosse.
Pittsburgh.
Sid.
Yeah, at some point, just go Sid.
And San Jose.
Thornton.
Yeah.
Let's take a look.
Nashville has never had one.
New Jersey has never had one.
Wow.
Jeez.
Pierre Turgeon for the Islanders.
Another forgotten guy.
Totally, totally.
132 and 92, 93.
Yarmur Yager, the last Ranger.
Yogs.
Boy, was he good on Broadway.
And was it Washington?
He was somewhere before where he was just bleeping off.
Washington.
And then remember, leaping the dog.
And then it's like, man, what does he got left?
And he went there and just lit it up.
And he literally wasn't trying.
Didn't he leave Washington and go to the K for a while and then come back?
The Laco year he went over.
He played three years.
Okay. Yeah, and I thought he came back. Anyway, Danny Heatley, the senator, 105.
Look at Retroo. Closieroo, 102.
Sydney Crosby. Eric Carlson. Oh, that's right. Last year.
As a defenseman. Not a lot of D-Men in this list, you may have noticed at this point.
Yeah, that might be our first. That's a lot of points. I mean, that's some franchises have never had them.
He's a defenseman. Well, and this is the thing, right?
and crushes him for his dean.
He's like, yeah, well, that's what you're giving up to be the greatest at the other end,
maybe since or, like offensively.
He's a wizard.
Look at Yager.
Hey.
Back in those days, living in New York, Manhattan.
What a stud.
He's got these, the New York hairs also.
Yeah.
You're dressing up as Yags.
You don't need the wig for New York Yags.
Final group, Seattle.
Never.
He's never had one, I'm guessing.
St. Las Blas.
This is tough.
Because I think they've had lots of good players, but I think it's, like, that team that won wouldn't have.
I don't think Teresanko over got there.
I don't think O'Reilly got near there.
Outs.
Oh, I'll say Hall, same era.
Tampa Bay.
Cooch.
Last year.
Point.
Toronto.
Austin Matthews last year.
Vancouver.
Patterson last year, I'm guessing.
Vegas.
I don't think they've had a hundred.
Yeah, I don't think
I go out there last year.
He definitely was really good
the second half and I don't think Stone
would have got to 100.
I'll say none.
Okay.
Washington.
Backstrom or Ovi?
Backstrom.
And.
The netsov get to, no, that's probably too much.
Winnipeg slash Atlanta.
I'll go back to Danny Heatley
in the ATL.
Wheeler,
Wheeler, maybe.
No.
No.
I'll go Heatley.
All right, take a look.
Seattle never.
Brendan Shanahan, the last blue.
Goodness.
102 and 93, 94.
You nailed Kutcherov.
You nailed Matthews.
You got Pedersen.
Those are all easy.
You're right.
No, Vegas Golden Knight.
You're both right.
Baxter and Ovechkin in 0910.
He was such a good player.
God.
Yeah, he was a great.
There's a kind of forgotten guy.
Even those Hawks dynasties we talk about.
And I think he was only there for, what,
two of the three, I want to say.
I want to remember he chased it back-to-back years
and was on the wrong side both years. He's in Pittsburgh,
loses the Detroit, he's in Detroit, loses to Pittsburgh.
However that went. And then finally
says, screw it. I'll just sign for the money
and go to Chicago and then he wins.
And win. Yeah. And yeah,
he's finally picked right, and he got paid.
Lovely. Well done. But like, you
talk so much about Taves and Kane
and Keith and Seabrook. And it's like,
Chalmersen and Hosa would have been the best players on a lot of
teams of those positions and they were important
pieces.
Buff, this stuff.
Big buff was early.
He wasn't there for the last ones.
No, but still.
Yeah.
And there's like,
Bolin, Bickle,
or there was a bunch of big boys.
They always had, too.
For Steed was in that mix.
I saw the guys on missing curfew,
you were talking about it.
How many of that group will have their number
retired in Chicago?
Cain and Taves, for sure.
I think all the guys would just name it.
Seabrook?
Yeah, I have to.
For sure.
Yeah.
Three rings?
Yeah.
And Chalmers and shit as well.
Crawford, I'll say no.
You think Charles Chalmerson?
I don't think Charleston.
Duncan Keith?
Duncan Keith, 100%.
Keith and Seabrook, Dave's
Kane Hosa?
Kane.
Jesus, no, it's six.
Randy Hosa?
Like, and I,
was he long?
Was he long?
You know what I mean?
That's where Chalmersen might have an edge on him,
is that he was like not a lifetime
Hawk, but a long time there.
And Crawford, he didn't win the person.
It was Nemi that won the first.
It was Nemi the one.
the players without raising their jersey, right?
Like, that's...
Somebody in the chat saying Patrick Sharp,
good player, big part of that team,
but I don't think that's...
No.
I don't know.
Well, good job, guys.
Well done.
You know your stuff.
Work red.
Yeah.
Really.
Like, oh, long arms.
It's like, yeah.
Great sweaters.
Dragon.
Dragon on the, yeah.

You know who I saw last week?
Our buddy Justin over at Viena Nova.
Oh, good.
remember we were telling you,
hey,
maybe for Valentine's Day,
for Christmas,
what you want to do is,
hey, babe,
we're going to go to Vina Nova.
We'll go have a nice dinner,
that sort of thing,
nice lunch.
We did that.
And Mama,
because he said,
hey,
you want to get something
custom made,
custom,
we're going to do something
on the custom route.
So I'll be,
I'll give you the full report.
Ooh.
And once again,
I was just kind of laughing that,
uh,
Justin very educated and smart when it goes to that sort of thing.
Yeah.
I mean, not so much.
Honey, what do you think about this?
I just talk to Justin.
I don't know.
It's shiny.
Because they're talking about,
oh, well, you see here how the hooks and that,
I mean, this thing is sort of different.
It's got the,
well, the cut of the diamond is different there.
Is it?
Well, what are you talking about?
We'll see here how it's cut.
You know, I'll just stop talking, guys.
I'll just,
I'll just let you guys do what,
what you do.
I'll just go stand over here and breathe louder than I should.

Stephen Avenue Place second level.
More bling for your buck.
That's right.
Are we idiots?
I thought I read in that chat
that perhaps Hosa is already retired.
That would make sense.
Oh, they did.
He was the first to go because, of course,
he was alerted to his equipment and so we were told.
I'm not sure if they
really?
I wasn't there long enough?
I don't know.
Well, maybe they could be wrong for doing it.
And we could still be right.
Yeah.
They did it, but I mean, I don't know what they're, I know what they're thing.
Let's do the Pender Report.
All right.
Pinder Report is brought to you by, oh, I got to get my.
Hang on.
I got to be ready for here.
You know.
New in-stock inventory was talking with Anthony from Village Honda for a while.
Again, the whole COVID thing.
And that's so hard to get new.
vehicles, hard, hard. There's more and more showing up every single day. New in stock inventory on
the ground. Go and test drive one today. Start your automotive adventures at Village Honda.
New vehicle pricing is always MSRP. They're your dealership for life. And Village Honda presents
Ryan Pinder, Ryan Pinder Report. Thank you, Dino. Let us go to the Wild Card Standings. Where are we at,
where are we at is the flames gets at for a three-game nightmarish road trip through the southeast of
United States of America.
Well, Seattle's past them, fellas.
They got a W in the second half of a back-to-back last night on the road.
They went in Calgary, then go win in Winnipeg.
That's a tidy bit of work from Dave Haxdahl's crew.
And now the flames are in their rearview mirror.
St. Louis just on the outside.
Has Nashville lost yet?
Did they lose last night?
I think they finally was it.
Montreal got them, Dean?
Is that what was?
O.T.
Eight game winning streak over.
But points in their last nine.
say they still haven't lost in nine well done on the preds who uh seemingly last year sold and got
younger and nearly beat out win a pick for the final playoff spot um let's look at the schedule of the
flames you told you about this road trip it's no fun the deadline falls in there noah anna fin awkward
parties on the plane yesterday he's there it is tampa tomorrow and then back to back weekend matinees a
two p.m in sunrise florida and a three p.m in raleigh north carolina
What's the better game if you had to pick those two ranks on the weekend, matinee?
All Florida.
It feels like it's going to be half full.
If not this year.
They're doing all right now.
Even guys, when noodles were on, it was funny in the back of my head.
I'm like, now guys want to play in Florida.
They finally figured it out.
They're like, hey, Tampa is the same tax stuff as us?
Why have we been dog shit for the last decade and they're hanging back?
We should look into that.
Yeah.
If we get good, guys will come.
To be fair, Bill Zito, who is what, AGM and Columbus for a long time, has been
phenomenal. He's done great, great work.
They found guys off the wire that have been excellent.
They've drafted really well. They've made some monster
trades that have worked out very well for them. Think of
Montour, Reinhardt, Kachuk. Those are all trades.
And he didn't seem to buy that
Tiberto's ever going to be 150.
The Verhegey worked out really well.
Big time.
Lundell's a mega stud that he's just arriving.
They managed to make the Bobrovsky thing work
okay. It looked like a bit of a disaster.
Zito's done well. And that, yeah,
Bobski wasn't his mess either.
As for the East, here's what the teams
they're facing this next road trip
are looking at. So Tampa is playing for
keeps here, fellas. There's no cruise control.
They are right in the thick of a chase.
Islanders two games in hand on them
with four points back. So in theory,
the aisles win those games.
You're right there with Tampa.
They can't be kicking their feet up.
This is absolutely a race that Tampa
is in here. I would expect
the Tampa Bay lending to not, say, for example, play their backup and think it's a cakewalk against Calgary tomorrow night.
As for Florida, they're in the race for the president's trophy, first overall in Carolina,
a second in the metro considerable distance behind the Rangers, but in a home ice position,
this is not an easy road trip, fellas. This is not an easy road trip.
Clarity. By the end of this roadship in these next five games, I will.
Well, no. So, Dean, when we're here Monday,
We'll tell Connie whether he should buy yourself.
By Friday, we'll be able to tell you.
You want to, we'll just, just be patient.
I know everybody wants to know right this minute.
It's not always that easy.
You'll know soon enough.
Just throwing out.
Those guys in the first period, like five nothing to happen.
Get trades, trades, trades, trades.
Yeah, I'm doing it.
You got Markey.
Let's go.
Get that guy off the bench.
Yeah.
Manjapani doesn't come back for the second.
The Hanuffin stuff is,
getting interesting. It was
a real
Kipper and Born, a Toronto radio
show that's Justin Bourne, great dude
is old man's Bob that played for the Islanders.
Former Saskatoon Blade. I don't know
that. Justin and
well, Kiprios, the
former Leaf. Great show.
He, Kipper, saying,
he believes there's already an
extension in place
in terms of a sign and trade
for Noah Hannafin in Tampa.
Now, the question is,
and Tampa reached the threshold, the flames need, and trade return, then it would be done.
Now, that is not been uttered elsewhere, and Kippard isn't batting a thousand.
No one is, but that really ruffled a lot of feathers because we've talked about how
lacking and wanting that Tampa system is.
They don't have a first till 2026.
That's a 15-year-old, as we mentioned with noodles.
And then on top of that, it's like they really only have two decent prospects,
and they're not set to be stars necessarily.
Isaac Howard's playing college hockey.
He's a sophomore, I believe at Michigan.
Kent Wilson asked the question.
Everyone seems to be thinking about Dean.
Why must Tannafin be traded to a team that he wants to resign with?
Well, obviously the answer is they don't have to,
but it sure does feel like Connie's getting squeezed here.
Well, and it does feel like a squeeze.
It's fine if there's an extension and it gets you more in a trade.
But what do they have?
Like I just, even if you had Howard, their top prospect and the 2026 first.
Does that feel like enough?
I don't know.
I really don't know.
It's a 15-year-old.
Well, it only is enough if down the road you go, oh, this guy's a stud.
Yeah, it was a good trade.
Yeah, and you don't get the time machine.
You got to make that call today or tomorrow.
Like, that's tough thing.
Well, in addition, you hope that maybe somehow Tampa is not good by then.
And there's no protection on it.
Yeah.
So even that, like, even let's say you somehow get a top 10 pick, like, wow, that'd be awesome.
Okay.
So that's in the summer of 2020.
give them two, three years.
Like, you're talking about 28, 29?
You're five years.
Well, if it's top.
I mean, if you're lucky, you're.
And that's if you're lucky, it's top 10.
Like, never mind if it's like, well, shit,
they're still Tampa.
They reload.
They get the tax breaks.
They figured it out with Stamco's.
Sergachia's healthy again.
I don't know.
Is that a trade warning?
You're breaking news?
There it is.
There it is.
Whoa.
Oilers and Ducks,
finishing off a deal that will send
Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick to the Oilers.
Salary retention involved as well as a third party broker,
some moving parts.
That from our insider, Frank Serra Valley of Daily Faceoff.
Frank's going to be all over the deadline on Friday.
Henrique's been out there, fellas.
I believe one year left.
He's a center making 5.8 or something around there, if I'm correct.
It's a lot of dough.
He's a good player.
They've been looking for something to help their top six.
Didn't know that it'd be Henrique.
It sounded like it was a winger.
priority. Well, again, it doesn't mean you can't go get a defenseman, but it sure still feels to me like a defenseman.
Hey, Edmonton, they're, look, they're going for it. They're not sitting, they're not sitting on their hands.
They're getting stuff done. So good. Henry Caphrage in the summer, excuse me, makes 5.825. So that if you could eat half that falls down to
just under three, if you get another team involved and you get them down to 25 percent, okay.
now we're in the range that it might make sense for Edmonton 34 years old turns 35
I just turned 34 good player he was a teammate of Taylor Hall back in junior on their
Memorial Cup winning team oh was he one of Conner's teammates uh Greg Nemis also was on that
team yeah crack had high hopes depth down the middle Edmonton'll be all right
Yeah, and then I guess what you immediately turn to is what we'll now watch for.
Do they have a way to find, can they find a way to add a D still and or a goal tenor that isn't the number three?
I don't mind the trade, fine, whatever.
But do you not see Edmonton losing in the second round going, Jesus, I wish.
I guess Cody C.C wasn't a second pair defense.
Jeez.
Get into this for four years.
Yeah, I mean, we'll see what they paid.
It may not take them out of a D potentially.
They'll have to move some money back.
Never mind their attention because they are so dry-humping the cap right now.
We'll see.
Yeah, there's more, as Frank alluded to, a lot of moving parts here.
We'll find out more.
There you go.
Wow.
Thank you, Dean.
And by the way, that is our trade alarm?
That's kind of all I got.
Well, no, I like it.
I like it.
Stop the hammering.
Nine kinds.
I'm not sure what else really applies.
I liked it because that's kind of like your Jamaican reggae horn.
All right, there it is.
All right.
Thank you, Dean.
Breaking news.
I think even RJ made us some like breaking trade graphics and things like that as
home.
Wow.
Next, next time.
I guess we got until Friday.
If you're an oiler,
don't talk on the group chat there.
Just don't.
I don't want to hear your.
So I saw this online.
I don't know this fellow.
I'm not vouching for said person on Twitter,
but I did think this was kind of cute where,
okay, you know, maybe the flames can works me on something out with
Tampa that would help the present and the future, but maybe also the past.
So here's the Haniffin mock trade.
Aniffin gets an eight-year extension goes to Tampa.
Flames get a 2026 first, solid prospect and a press conference on TV where the owner confirms
the puck was in during the O4 finals and the flames won the cup.
Yes.
I'm with you.
What?
And future.
Perfect deal.
I feel like that deserves the horn, but now it's a breaking news thing.
So, okay.
No, that's just a mock trade.
And I couldn't find the owner press conference thing on the websites where you try to do
the trades.
I don't know how much that's worth.
Yeah, like if you heard
What to compare that to.
If you heard on Friday, it was a second year college player
It was around a point of game, not a star,
and at 2026 first, would that feel light on Hanofan?
Yeah.
And if it came with an extension, it would feel even later.
Only because you've sold me on, it should be way more.
Yeah, first player prospect.
First and three years.
Somebody's been warning you saying, get ready.
Oh, we'll see, buddy, we'll see.
Underwhelming, a little underwhelming.
We will see.
I'd say, hey,
would you let's go to Tampa? Okay, awesome.
Write down the post, go put it in the garbage,
and I'll trade you wherever the fuck I want.
Yeah.
Well, I said, oh, so this is where you'd like to go.
Okay, well, that's great.
The minute you turn down a contract to stay with us.
Yeah.
You're 18, no trade.
That's great.
Yeah, I got it all here.
Don't worry about those teams.
The other 24, happy to send you to anyone that works for us the best.
Talk to you later.
Don't sleep on Detroit here.
We showed you that East,
wild card, they're in. It's going to be tough to reel in Detroit because of, well, just their teams are way back.
They're playing well. And seeing the athletic had their team prospect pool rankings, number two in the whole league.
Their top five systems, safe to say, with prospects, young players, had a lot of high picks.
That might be a place where Connie gets more for a rental even. If Hanavan didn't want to extend or threatened to not extend, then he might for that alleged deal, we just ran you by with Tampa.
but they have assets, Detroit.
It's time to win again.
So don't sleep under.
What about Brooklyn?
No sleep till.
No sleep till Brooklyn.
When you get to Brooklyn, you can sleep.
Then you can sleep?
Yes.
I got you.
Not before.
And what's the city that never sleeps?
Chicago.
Soap is in Seattle.
Anyway, we'll move along here.
Other trades.
Can I get the horns, Dino?
Talked about it off the top of the show.
Vladimir Tarasenko.
The tank is rolling into Greater Miami.
It is Teresanko from Ottawa.
to Florida for not much.
A third rounder next year, a conditional fourth this year.
And it can turn to a third if they win the cup.
Boy, he's not in his prime.
We saw them try it in New York.
It wasn't great.
But if you're going to put him next to Bennett and Kachuk and he
pushes Nick Cousins down, that's a spot to succeed for still a very talented
offensive player.
They can figure out the rest.
Don't mind it at all for Florida.
That seems like a no-brainer.
Kids a Panthers fan.
He'll be excited.
okay your kid is a path their Sanko's kid no red's kid
so that back goes into the trade or bilibabab ever since you went down for the old
alumni thing last spring yeah maybe it was a hat
a hat yeah good a hat good a hat right like that'll yeah nice hat um do you mention this dean
here's the tweet that started the uh huh mhm christ johnston insider with tsn believe
the Canucks are in on Gensel
and
potentially they could flip Lindholm to the Bruins
is part of the way to get the assets
to bring in Jake Gensel.
My head is spinning.
It's not spinning yet.
Time is a construct.
It didn't happen.
So don't let your head spin too much.
Yeah.
It is a lot of,
how would that happen?
We'll see if it does.
And it doesn't sound like it's complete nonsense.
No, I mean, the Bruns have had interest in Linholm.
It feels like it's been lukewarm at best.
in Vancouver on Linnholm
since he's arrived. And
they make sense that they'd be into Gensel.
Are you done with trade stuff?
One more, please.
Okay.
Horace.
I just threw another one.
Okay.
Horns.
You want to go.
Anthony Manta goes to the Golden Knights.
Yesterday, the 50% retained.
This is a big kid that can score.
He's not physical, but he's a big kid that can score.
It feels like a really sneaky good Vegas deal,
not unlike Barboshev last year for a second.
or was a prospect last year.
Second and a fourth, that's a,
that feels like a very Kelly McCriman-type deal, doesn't it?
Sure does.
And Dean, horns again?
You got another one for us.
No, no, no.
It's just kind of, because it's, uh, they're, things are swirling.
Do we trade?
Are swirling.
So it's not horns yet.
Okay.
Good.
It's not yet horns.
Um, but I, I, I don't, I don't really understand how it works.
Is it easy for Jack to call it up or is it not easy for Jack to call it
all and that because he's got everything.
I'm doing.
I got it in a sec.
Okay.
I'll give you one more thing to buy him some time.
Rasmus Sandine, the former leaf, I believe he was taken.
Right.
That was on the first round by Toronto.
Went to Washington for a first rounder at last year's deadline.
They kind of sold and bought.
They've extended him a five-year contract for Sandine, I believe.
Good young player.
Can work power play.
And that feels like if Washington is going to turn over, get younger,
not a lot of kids, but this is one that they like.
No relation to Matt Sundane.
Yeah, the spelling you lost him did indicate that to me, but you're also, it is not Matt's son.
What about the Sidene twins?
Not related to either Daniel or Henrik Sidon.
Okay.
Can confirm.
This was, uh, any relation to him?
No, Rasmus is not at all.
No, completely.
Now, what do you have for us, Dean?
For trades, I mean, it's not, it's not huge, but it's, it's another name that has been out there in the D market.
Tana has gone, obviously.
Elliot Friedman tweeting, hearing Philadelphia is working on a trade that would send
defenseman Sean Walker to Colorado. Walker's had a great year, came over from L.A. to Philly.
Philly's had a great year. They're in a playoff spot still third in the metro.
It sounds like they're working on an extension with Nick Seeler.
I was going to say, Seeler was the other guy there that was potentially.
So if Walker's gone there and if Seeler's being re-signed, the D covers a little empty.
It's got no half in here for you guys.
I was going to say that if Colorado snaps him up.
I get a little more leverage.
Didn't sound like Colorado was hot on Hanofbin.
Is that fair?
And they add him to a blue line that already has Kail McCar,
Devon Taves, Josh Manson, Sam Gerard,
Bowen Byram, Jack Johnson.
It's a good team.
You love Jack Johnson.
I don't.
Good music.
My wife loves it.
Was it bubble toes that stupid song?
I don't hope.
Yeah.
That good.
He's a surf.
I do not have bubble toes.
Yeah.
Not today.
I know.
We just have that clip.
NHL tonight, let's look at it, Dean.
Three non-Callgary Flames games that I'm seeing,
including the Flames, that does bring us up
to a total of three.
So we'll get into that later with our
what's on the menu for DoorDash.
And now let's get to the dumb shit.
We'll head to the dumb shit, Boulder.
We start with Beer League, where it can get a little feisty out there.
But a rare sight.
Now, they're putting cameras in all these rinks,
so Rec and Scout kids, no matter where he is in the world,
you can watch the rink.
cameras are catching things in beer league this is not scouting so much as what the hell's going on here
the mouth stars there they are it's team of dentists and rate each other's face little good
look at the bruin guys like this is right yeah the bonneville bruns there he's just like
why is he involved this is not your team he is sort of why are guys trying to stop it
well it's a little ridiculous you've grown-ass men that's probably why well like but exactly
I can have a cul-de-sac on the dentist there, too.
Wow.
This looks like some senior seats.
Is that, that's not called Patterson, is it?
It's going to be tough to have a beer after the game in the room.
It's not, it's going to be awkward.
Dallas.
How bad you if you're losing it, start sniping at each other in your own bench.
You don't ever say that to me again.
Shove, shove, push, push.
Hey, hey, oh, oh, oh.
I've got gloves on and helmets.
I'm going to get you.
you you jumped up a bridge in south africa right yes i did we found the footage i i didn't
realize it was as painful as it was you're looking good that's your playing days right lock out
here oh boy oh really that was not worth throwing deuses up from the hotel beds a bit of a
flanks oh right on the back right i love the neck brace yeah safety first
I wore that before he jumped
to then help there's that only after
no
definitely don't do that again
no
there's a this a winding
beautiful road somewhere on the other side
of the world Dean
is that BAMF
no it's looking a little more tropical
and a little less infrastructure
it's a narrow road
geez
balance
look at the rocks
get it!
Oh no
nice to do
that was
A stretch between field and golden on the trans Canada for about a decade.
It was basically like that.
They finally fixed it.
Holy cow.
Not ideal.
I didn't see any avalanche area signs.
Saravali would have been freaked right out.
I lost a rock slide.
God.
Those are big stones.
Just mine in your business.
The big stones there, dude.
That's what Frank was worried about when we were driving to Jasper, just out of nowhere.
Don't even see it coming.
Rolling stones.
Now, Dean did.
grant me one rat exemption for the week.
It's not super gross, but it does time in the week I did.
Yes, and you used it already.
No, I didn't.
It was a mouse.
This is your friend of snakes in the toilet, Dean.
This is where real trouble.
Don't ever think about rats in your toilet, okay?
Because like, they'll just, they got a little base under there and see you later.
Oh, God.
I just, you know.
Oh, they can swim too.
Yeah, that's not scary at all.
Sweet.
And months ago, we learned about this new animal
as if Australia wasn't scary enough,
Dean, these goddamn beachworms are back.
Oh, gross.
You got to tease them with a little food,
your little shrimp.
Oh, delicious.
Look, just tease them.
Gotcha!
God damn it.
It's pretty gross.
Why are you holding with your mouth?
What are we doing here?
Yeah, that is.
Jeez.
And Tourism Australia is also, I believe,
they've joined us as a sponsor, Dean.
They want you to go over and make a touchdown.
They're very upset with us.
Cobra's of kangaroos, alligators, crocs.
Jesus.
That's your Pindaport.
Big shout to Anthony and the folks up at Village Honda.
By the way, if you're one of the pals of Village Honda,
keep an eye on your email, special event coming up just for the Friends of Village.
How about it?
There you go.
An eye out.
Village Hodge, a huge selection of
owned vehicles all makes all models, all budgets, over 90 units on site access to more than
500 more inside the dealership group, which is why Village Honda is and should be your one-stop
automotive destination in Calgary.
They're worth the trip.
Village Honda located in the Northwest Auto Mall.
So a couple of things wanted to bring your way.
Coming up, we've been talking to you about Greta.
We were there a couple weeks ago.
We're going to be there again on the 23rd.
Knox game.
That'll be fun.
They have an event coming up on March the 10th, which is, that's right.
I mean, that's right away.
It is the Mario CART, Mario Day celebration on March 10th.

in a single elimination showdown for a chance to win a grand prize of $1,000 cash.
Whether you're a seasoned Mario expert or just love a good challenge,
this event, perfect for gamers of all levels.
Go to Greta Bar Y Y, Y, C, for an action-packed afternoon.
Little nostalgia, plenty of fun.
You can purchase tickets online.
Greta bar
YWIC is what it is.
So 20 bucks,
grab yours at the door for $25.
They got special prices on drinks and food and all sorts of thing.
But Mario Kart,
it's a lifestyle.
It's a big thing.
There's a lot of bets.
Big deal.
Kids Christmas got the Switch.
It's their first, this millennia
gaming system.
The one kid is just Mario Kart.
dreams about it wakes out of that whatever that
you get his create a character now but uh yeah he's not he's not old enough to go to greta
if you're 18 and over this weekend the 10th Sunday
that mario card extravagance so good like that
i do love video games have you done the VR stuff retro
not really no it's pretty crazy
always we're talking about that dustin brown that i mentioned he's back at buffalo
and apparently he's into it and he's
a very wicked in his house.
You got to chum up with this guy.
You were raving about him when you landed.
What a great guy.
Nice guy.
Great guy.
Good guy.
Great guy.
What a guy.
So for what it's worth,
it sounds like the trade,
Sean Walker,
defenseman from Philly to Colorado is done.
That it's costing Colorado its first round draft pick,
if not more.
Oh,
that's good news for Connie.
It's, yeah.
Yeah, wow.
Now again, Colorado will be picking quite late.
They're vying for top spot in Central.
But a first plus is what you want to hear because I don't think it's close.
If you're picking between a Walker and Hanofen, Hanofan, Hanifan's more valuable.
Edmonton sent a first rounder this year to Anaheim for Adam Henrique and Carrick,
plus another later conditional pick.
So that's how they've spent their first.
Wow.
Not a D.
Like,
first,
that's a lot for Henrik.
Yeah.
Like,
where is Henry?
Well,
and maybe they play Enrique
on the wing.
I don't know that they have a need
down the middle.
You can always go.
I don't even try to,
the whole point of the story is that
the forward is the least
point you should be worrying.
You should be getting a defenseman
or a goaltender.
Goaltender might be hard to find.
So how about you go get a D that can play?
Jeez.
It feels like it, right?
I don't think.
depth up front is what if your top guns can't get you there i it was anyone worried about them losing a
seven six game like it's about keeping it out of your own net and they can get to four every night
and if they can't then it's like we saw it last night boston's playing a perfect game they miss an
empty net to seal it and with 90 seconds left it felt inevitable the others are going to score here because
that's what they can do adrian dater long time uh guy that covers with he was with the denver post
and is now doing his stuff online, covering the avalanche,
tweeting, Avs trade first round pick to Philly for defenseman Sean Walker.
I think this is a prelude to a bigger deal soon.
Bowen Byron could be in play, which we've heard his name for a while.
Byron's interesting because super high-end talent,
highly touted young player, high draft pick,
missed a lot of time with injuries,
I believe some concerns about concussion.
And the results have been just okay when he gets a little more.
runway to play more, is he still going to be a star?
That would be a really interesting conversation for a lot of organizations about where
they think he'll be in a year or two.
He's missed a lot of developmental time.
So if it's, if it's a first for Walker from Colorado,
Walker ain't Hannafin, fellas.
Of course, they had to, Tampa had to give up five picks last year for 10.
Dude, two firsts for Brandon Hagel plus the two prospects.
uh, kachuk and radish like delicious.
Hananathan's a better player than Hagel.
Hanifton's a better player than Tanners and O like.
Hey, you're ready to do some Betway bets with these, uh, the big three games sked tonight.
Get the betway up on your phone.
Play along.
Find the games you like.
Sometimes you get in there.
There'll be some pre-built bits and some different things going on that you can take part in.
And I actually found a couple today, or at least I found the,
No, I found a couple.
I went into the pre-built bets in the NHL category on my Betway app.
Bet the responsible way with Betway.
Betway is the gaming partner, official gaming partner,
both Barnburner and Afterburner.
Tonight, Austin Matthews, Nate McKinnon,
if they both score at least one goal, it's a plus 225.
Love it.
Team to score the most goals,
either between Colorado, Ottawa, or Toronto.
Now I need to look at the sked, I guess, but I've got Toronto
to score the most.
They're good at that.
Getting a plus 180.
Toronto is at home hosting Buffalo.
That would seem to fit.
Detroit's in Colorado, they've been pretty good.
We talked about it.
So is McKinnon on home ice.
That point street continues.
The season on home ice.
And Ottawa is in Anaheim.
So I don't mind that pick in Toronto.
I'll take Toronto at home against the Sabres for a plus 180.
Very good.
How about it?
I'm focusing in on one game.
here fellas it is the red wings and avalanche uh justice ananin has been the young netminder in
the colorado nets i believe back-to-back shettys i'm gonna take detroit under two and a half see if
that trend continues with the stout defense playing great goal tending also i'm going to take the abs minus
one and a half that is the puck line that pays plus money colorado's been so good at home and i went
to try to go get some nathan mckenon bets it's like the books are expecting them to get three points like
I think two points was not even even money.
I'm like, there's no value here.
It's too good.
So I'm going with the puck line instead, minus one now.
Get the Betway up and your phone play along.
Why wouldn't you?
But bet the responsible way with Betway.
And I get as a lot of people are going to be,
if you're listening or watching this podcast down the road,
a lot of this is going to be, you know,
you're going to know this stuff.
But things coming in as we come close to wrapping up,
Jason Greger reporting that it's a first and a fifth.
to Anaheim for Adam Henrique and Carrick, both are UFAs at the end of the year.
Great round.
And sounding like Ryan Johansson is going back to Philly in the Walker trade.
And that makes me wonder where the abs are at with Center Ice,
because he was going to be the guy that could come in and plug that whole left by Nossum
Cadry when he's signed in Calgary.
I don't know where Landisog's at.
I don't know what their expectation is there.
I think he's a winger more than a center anyway.
Is that a salary dump or is that a hockey?
I think that's probably an acknowledgement that he wasn't what they wanted.
He makes $4 million.
I think Walker makes both the same.
So it makes the money work.
And I think maybe they're shopping for a center now.
Yeah.
Like Ross Colton's their number two center?
No, I mean.
This is a Stanley Cup team.
Right?
So maybe the ads are none.
I don't know where they're at cap-wise after this deal.
But if Johans is going back,
it sounds like they might have just be where they were
before, which is to say they got a couple million bucks in deadline space.
Condry?
There it is.
I was going to say to Conjury?
Nasm Contry is a Avlantra?
Win a cup?
Stanley Cup Chan.
Big Hadry against St. Louis.
Monster game.
Big game winner.
Anyone says you can't win with Nazim Kadri.
You could shove it right up.
Stick it right in your hoo-ha.
That's right.
It, uh, hoo-ha.
It, uh, hoo-ha.
Was that a song we tried to get us a goal song?
Woo-ha.
That was the Buster Rhymes banger off his debut album.
Still would have worked.
Let's do some DoorDash.
What's on the menu?
It's easy to order with DoorDash.
Just get the app and then just start, you could peruse,
start looking around.
What do I feel like?
Even when you don't know, I have no idea.
You'll get an idea because it's all there.
Groceries, pharmacies, restaurants, bakeries, flower shops,
and more, it's got everything you need.
And it's easy to order.
And for a limited time,
our listeners get 25% off and zero delivery fees on their first order of $15 or more with the DoorDash app and promo code Nation 25 Nation 2.5.
We'll get that deal triggered for you.
So with that said, what's on the menu for DoorDak?
Two games I like.
It's always good when Buffalo and Toronto clash, right?
Those fan bases don't like each other.
You get a lot of Toronto traveling to Buffalo.
This one's in Toronto.
Memories of Hassock and you guys shutting their yaps in Toronto.
Those cocky leafs heavily favored.
favored. And then another great old rivalry, Detroit Colorado, fellas.
Draper, Lemieux.
I still haven't watched that.
I got to watch that series.
I don't know where it is.
Jack, tell us where that damn series is.
It was called rivalry.
ESPN did?
Jack.
God, that, Jack.
And we'll see if Nathan McKinnon's home point streak continues.
The entirety of the season at home point streak.
Gretzky, 40 games in an 80 game season.
He did the whole season.
Nate Duncan beat him because they play 82 now.
that might be one of Gretzky's records going down.
You only got 52 now or whatever it is.
That's what's on the menu, you know.
For DoorDash, again, get that DoorDash app and use the promo code Nation 25 to get 25% off your first order of $15 and more.
Dash that for the win.
Things trickling out.
There's some belief that already maybe Ryan Johansson will be put on waivers.
He was brought in to make plays and create offense and he hasn't.
And so it's the failed experiment that probably...
It helps the money work, right?
Yeah.
And Walker is making 2.65.
So the Ave's actually net another million and a half-ish.
That's an impressive piece of work there.
We'll go get a second-wide center now.
All right.
So we'll give you the first, but we need, it's got to be for more than just Walker.
Bit of an overpay.
And that doesn't help the-
Well, and I think why the first is involved now is because, yeah,
they've now opened up cap space.
That's, would anyone be surprised if they move Byram now
try to find that number two center?
I really.
Chess, which chest.
Yeah, that's right.
It's constantly changing.
I don't know why, but I just,
just because it would make a great story.
And it would be something to follow if Vancouver does move out,
Lindholm to Boston.
God, it'd be unbelievable.
The drama.
I don't really.
I don't,
I have nothing against Vancouver right now.
I don't have any affinity for Boston or whatever.
But just to see Calgary, Vancouver, Boston,
who's going to have the best end?
Who's, who's getting the shitty end out of it?
And who's,
good at the end.
Calhry's not going to get the shitty end.
Not with the, because Menko's had the same production of Lintholm.
And there's four other pieces.
And the Brosekevich kid is continuing to pile of points in the O.
Yeah.
Man, like you talk about the.
Is that what they call that?
Well, maybe, but again, like, we called Jim Ruther.
You know what I mean?
At that time, Gensel was maybe not in play.
Frank had said for a long time, he's way down my list because they haven't decided if they're selling them or not.
Well, now after this weekend, and it was probably they're leaning that way.
They just had a miserable trip through Western Canada.
They got pumped in Edmonton after losing here.
Like he's clearly getting moved now.
And that's the piece where they're like,
you know what?
Jim Rutherford,
not afraid to take a cut.
We used to make jokes he was old 10 years ago.
We played that janky, old-timey music.
Remember that day?
10 years ago, we called him old.
You don't give a shit.
Let's go.
Hang a banner.
And of course, Jim Rutherford familiar.
He drafted, right?
He was in Carolina when Lindholm got drafted.
And he had Jake Gensel when he was in Pittsburgh.
So he loves guys that he knows.
Someone in the chat on Bristevich saying 84 points in 59 games.
That good for D, Red?
That's all right.
D plus one season.
Is that decent, Ryan?
Unbelievable.
That's excellent.
It's got some of our play pretty soon.
Not really what I was looking for.
Is that decent?
Decent.
Rets got to go have lunch.
I got to go.
Let's go.
Get out of here.
You got to go and enjoy the rest of our day.
tomorrow is what Thursday?
The day before the deadline.
Darren Dregger tomorrow because he's busy doing the TSN panel on Friday.
So Dregs will join us tomorrow.
It'll be Flames game day.
Will Haniffin be a flame?
Will he play if he's still a flame?
So lots to get into on the Thursday edition.
We appreciate you.
Be good.
49 hours still the deadline.
Check out.
