Starting point is 00:00:00 It's so loud, it's like cut off his speaker. Can you not hear me? I can hear you. It's nasty up there. It's very loud. They got all kinds of machines and shit. Could you show here, guys? Go interview one of the fellas.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Let's see where the fellas are. And we've got to go right there. What the H? What the H is going on? Yeah. Oh, look at this guy. No, go back. What's he doing there?
Starting point is 00:00:54 He's got, is he, is he, is he, is he jiggling his balls there? What's he got going over there? Is he got the hand tucked inside the, uh, the guys got, like that. That's professional work right there. If you're a coveralls, you've got to know how to do that. There's a lot of guys here. They're getting stuff done, baby. You want to, would you cup my balls?
Starting point is 00:01:20 My head was cold. cold and it was great for a lot, but now my hands kind of warm. Could you cut my balls? Ask if you can operate some of the equipment. Yeah, see if they got a jackhammer or something. They're still busy they are. They are busy. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:01:39 Let's count them. One standing, two, standing. Three. One machine just holding up a telephone pole. It's its only job. Someone's working that all day. Just sitting in there hanging out. You know what?
Starting point is 00:01:53 unfortunate is we can't appreciate how loud it is because actually your headphones or whatever are doing a good job of cutting out the background noise. I'll just go closer. There, stop. Yeah, like, it's roaring. We really can't appreciate how loud that is. So whenever you get mad at us from bad internet,
Starting point is 00:02:15 these guys dancing on the fiber cable at here, right? At least it's not right outside the studio doors. I'm sorry, what's that you're saying? Yeah, yeah. all right let's start the show all right yeah great yeah we'll get it going get it going boom d u g in saskatoon is the old i don't know if i've told this where he'll watch the city workers and if they're not working he phones him in i got three guys out here perfect most to be cut the grass and i've been
Starting point is 00:02:48 standing around for an hour i've been walked i videoed him that's a good citizen right there that's a good citizen yeah because where will we be without guys that without guys like that. 100%. Goodness. You should have hopped on a on a backhoe or something there. Somebody's saying, yeah, you should have gotten a
Starting point is 00:03:10 on a piece of equipment there. I don't know how that ends well. They're like, no, leave. Sorry. All right. Look at my flow. Yeah. I could do better than you at this job.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Come on. To be fair, maybe they could be better than me at this job. So maybe that's best for everyone. Send them in. Let's have a flip flop. to go. Oh, I see you guys think this is easy. Sit around and bitching and complaining and talking about
Starting point is 00:03:36 goaltending. Saddle up, partner. Trade this guy, trade that guy. Anyone can say that. Yeah. I need to do a little something. Do it. Fire. When I came into my little office studio here this morning, there was something waiting for me. I don't know if you guys know this. It's Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Ah, shit. Yeah. Valentine's Day. My daughter left something. I'm supposed to use it today. So I'll just do a quick switcharoo here. A toothbrush? You're not going double glasses? Oh, Jesus.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Yes. Thank you. That's what I'm talking about. Yes. Oh, baby. 100%. You dig? I dig and I'm proud of it.
Starting point is 00:04:17 What a gal. You kidding? Yeah. So that's today. Thank you, sweetie. Well, they are very dirty. I didn't bother to put them on before now. I may, once we get noodles on, well.
Starting point is 00:04:28 smudging. It's like, you know what? It's like your, your laptop cab. It's like there's some butter on it, maybe some gravy, some grease.
Starting point is 00:04:39 I didn't do anything yet for, because you can see Vinova. We've been telling you about Venova. Of course. Venanova.com. Second level, Stephen Avenue place. It's the place to go.
Starting point is 00:04:52 You can still do that today. See KQ. KQ knows. RN. How about RFN? KQ. well it's 10.13 in the morning here in Calgary so RN's good. If it gets to like three or four something, it's RFN for sure.
Starting point is 00:05:07 But I did Vienn over for Christmas. It feels like I can't do it again. Maybe you would do it again. Can a girl have too many diamonds? It's a long way downtown for you and you're. Yeah. Yeah. I might actually have to leave the neighborhood today. I got a text. Can you pick this thing up and drop it off?
Starting point is 00:05:24 Where is it? I like Rett's house. It's a fifth. Yeah. The 10 minute city. You can't be. What? You have to get bicycle there.
Starting point is 00:05:36 You know what? Motivate yourself. Stop in at the cluck and cleaver or something local that you can grab. Motivate yourself to leave the host team. That's how you do. Ooh, a cluck and cleaver. That's romantic, right? I forgot to get something and actually stopped to get something and still forgot to get something.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I want to walk me through this. Yeah. All right. I woke up this morning, realized, ah, Valentine's Day. Didn't help. Don't have anything. I'm going to have to stop in at a store to get something. Stopped at the store, walked around the store, grabbed some bacon, and forgot to get anything else.
Starting point is 00:06:14 What store were you at? Are you going to get her carrots? Like, what the hell's happening here? You're going to get some flowers, maybe. Ooh, look at the bacon. Bacon. Is that thick-cutt? Two for one.
Starting point is 00:06:25 You kidding me. Thick got bacon. Oh, okay there. Hey, did you get my prescription? They didn't have it. It wasn't ready. Was it for bacon? Because I got that.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Will that cure what? I'll be right back. Shit. And then there's no guarantee even on the second one. I was blown away at the two for one bacon. Yeah. Completely sidetracked. Wasn't it Costanza that found that woman in New York that found pastrami,
Starting point is 00:06:52 the most sensual of the cured meats? Yes. That's right. Most sensual. Is that Alderwood smoked bacon? thick God. Oh, well, happy Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Do something. You got to do something, man. Do something. You can fake it. You can fake it good. It's a fail safe and it's a last minute where you don't want to leave the house, a love letter.
Starting point is 00:07:20 This is what Reds told us for 10 years. It is a winner and it feels like it was thought out for days and it was slapped together in moments, but it is, Yeah. It's serious. The old honey dripper there for 10 years, he said, look.
Starting point is 00:07:37 He's dripping something. I thought it was gravy. Old gravy dripper. Bacon grease is. More like it. You know what? Who better than our next guest? A romantic and heart.
Starting point is 00:07:49 He joins us on the Tell us Insider Hotline. Enter to win one of six monthly prizes, including tickets to Calgary, hockey games, awesome tech like AirPods, Apple watches, and more. No purchase necessary. All you have to do is fill out a quick survey to enter. your chance to win. Go online. Tellus.com slash flames contest. Yes, the honey dripper. One of the,
Starting point is 00:08:09 Wow. He probably wrote a song for his. A poem. What are you talking about to poem or anything? I don't do any of that. You're a sweetheart. You're a linguist. Come on now. You didn't get one of the nickelback guys to sing a love song for you or something like that? Showed up at the front door. No, my wife is, she, first of all, she was like, do not, she hates red roses. So the joke is I get her red roses all the time. Right, yeah. Because I like to press buttons. And she's like, just be a good father and get your daughter a rose.
Starting point is 00:08:43 So I'm going to do that. I'm actually driving to do that right now. But I don't know, like, I'm not one of these. Like, I think Valentine's Day is a waste of time. Do you guys agree or not? It's a scam. But like, like, I'm not getting anything from my wife. Like, I'm not getting chocolates or anything.
Starting point is 00:09:01 If anything, you're just. You move on. It's a 14th. Maybe a meal. I don't know, but I'm not, I'm not song guy. I know I'm guitar guy when I drink, but I'm not going to be,
Starting point is 00:09:12 you know, I'll pull out the guitar and play a little dust on the bottle from David, David, Lee Murphy. Ady boy. Yeah. Yeah, but I'm not singing that because,
Starting point is 00:09:22 you know, I'm sweet nothings to my wife. I'm singing it because it's a campfire song and I want to drink to it. That's basically what I'm doing. So. I'm going to share a little story. This is a little inside baseball and maybe it's too much, but I'm going to do it anyway.
Starting point is 00:09:37 I was on a road trip with the flames one time, and you were one of the coaches at the time. And the trip was, it was in New York City at the time. Okay. And I just remember it was before the renovation at Madison Square Garden. So it's kind of, there's the dressing room, and then you walk straight out to the, to the ice surface.
Starting point is 00:09:55 And when you're down that low, you can actually see underneath the stands and stuff. I guess they've got the, almost like a set of bleachers. Like it's kind of crazy for Madison Square Garden. But once you get underneath, because they have to do so much changing all the time, nothing's really that permanent.
Starting point is 00:10:09 So we're standing down there. And I look under the bleachers, and somebody's talking on their phone down under there. Is that McClennon? Yeah, he's talking on his phone. So I'm kind of standing there. I don't need to mention the coach or who else was around. It's like, what's noodles?
Starting point is 00:10:25 He got some top secret mission on the go over there. and the coach at the time says oh fuck he got his heart broke his girlfriend broke up with him or something he's all fucking upset he's all into his feelings and stuff he's moping around god
Starting point is 00:10:43 so I'm I know you're an emotional guy we've all had our hearts broken well I've had my heart broken many times I mean think of getting traded or sent down or put on waivers or you know broken up with you feel like you're you know finally feel comfortable.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Who was this girl to put you on waivers? What's the story? It doesn't matter. I don't know. I mean, think about it all the time. I put it this way. I have never broken up with a girl. I've always been broken up with.
Starting point is 00:11:12 So I've had my heart broken a lot of times, I would say. Not a lot. I didn't date a lot of people, but I would say that I've had my heart broken a few times. There it comes. We got sad music. We love you, noodles. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:11:28 although I feel like you guys might break up with me too. Don't leave me. No, this is going great. Out of time, James. Sorry. Yeah, I'm sure. You know what? If I was coaching, I know the person and I probably know the situation.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Yes. Sad days. But you know what? I recovered and I was fine. I came back stronger. And that's the way you've got to look at it. But I will probably admit that I probably went out for 100 drinks that night, though, to drown myself.
Starting point is 00:11:59 You never know. Sometimes you got to do that. And you know what? Where the hell is she now? She never bounced back after you either, right? Oh, I would say she's quite successful. I've heard. More than you?
Starting point is 00:12:11 Impossible. It is what it is. Life goes on. Well, you know, we were saying yesterday, we're still a month out from the trade deadline. We have to have like a quota on how many times we can mention the goalie's name and a couple of the D's name because it's one of two things. Either you come to the show and if we talk about them,
Starting point is 00:12:33 it's like, oh, these frigging guys are talking about these guys. It's going to enough with its guys killing me. Or the other way, if you come into the show to find out what's going on, they didn't even talk about marks from the? I don't even understand. I thought they covered the flames. What kind of stupid show is this? They didn't talk about 10 and not.
Starting point is 00:12:49 How are we supposed to know what's going on? It's an unwinnable situation here on news. Yeah, but I mean, let's talk about the goalies. Let's talk about the marketplace. Let's talk about, you know, rumblings online. I mean, where do you want to go? I mean, all I know is that Jacob Markstrom's a top-tier goaltender, arguably probably top five in the league, Pender?
Starting point is 00:13:10 Where's he at? This season for sure. Yep. Top three guy this year. Okay. So that's what you're dealing with. So Craig Conroy is dealing from a position of strength. If, you know, if the goaltender wants to move on.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Now, that's the giant, you know, multimillion. million dollar question is if you want to trade him or you get an offer and you approach the player and he he could control his own destiny and the other thing is Vladar what's his situation from from uh you know injury standpoint no contract i know but injury yeah like he's on i r but it was weird that he was on iar because he worked the gate after apparently he was hurt and Dustin Wolf was flying east and we're like, really? So you let a hurt guy back up a game in the NHL? That's a little thinking.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Yeah, unconfirmed, Jamie, just between us girls. Yeah. And then the reports come out that maybe they did go to talk to him about a deal with New Jersey. Yeah, it was very quick that Wolf was on a plane to Newark the day after Vladar worked the game as a backup and was working the gate, but then was on IR the next morning. So yeah, I think there's, I think there is whatever, fire where there's smoke or whatever you want to call it. But you've got a lot of hockey to watch. You watch the entire league. But from where we sit, and I think it's unanimous across the board, we haven't seen him play this well as a flame.
Starting point is 00:14:39 And he's been a flame for a little bit now. And I didn't watch, I didn't, not microscope focus on what he was in Florida or in Vancouver. But he is playing, I said it yesterday, he's playing the position as well as anybody can play it. He gave up one goal the other night on a jam play. Every night he's coming up with unbelievable saves. This is not a vacuum-tight defense that he's playing behind right now. It's short-handed breakaways, it's chance after chance, and he's standing on his head. This is, if you're looking for a goalie, one of the best in the game is available potentially right now.
Starting point is 00:15:14 We never see that. I agree. The problem is and the challenge is, if you, If he wants to move on, you've got to find, you know, first of all, you've got to get him to accept that. Secondly, what's the offer? That's the crazy part. And how do you fit him into a cap structure where, you know, the team that might be acquiring him, they're going to have to have money in, money out, and throw in, you know, massive assets for a top-tier goaltender.
Starting point is 00:15:45 So this would be a blockbuster deal. if Jacob Markstrom was traded. And I don't even know what it would look like because, again, you would have to, if you're probably any team, if you're Calgary, you might have to eat some of his salary just to have him fit into the team that he's going to. You know, that's, so that's going to be,
Starting point is 00:16:07 you have to add in, you've got to add in sweeteners just to eat salary on a top tier player just so that he can fit in his new situation. So so many factors come into it, it'll be a very, you know, if he gets traded, it'd be a very complicated deal. Yeah, well, and that's what reports from Elliott on Saturday said that's where the deal sort of got bogged down was on salary retention and what that was worth. And that is on top of what you noted, which they're just done a lot of comps for goalies having Vesna caliber years getting moved. They just aren't because teams typically are rolling and heading into the playoffs. Yeah. It's teams that are desperate for goal. It's teams that are desperate for goaltending taking a roll of the dice on Dwayne Rollison. Or somebody like that.
Starting point is 00:16:48 last year, right? It's not, it's not a bona fide number one, maybe best in the league being moved. So I don't, I don't know how it, how it shakes down. It still feels like if it gets done, it's an offseason deal because more teams can come to the dance. The only reason you would think you're trading right now for Markstrom is if you're playoff bound. Yes.
Starting point is 00:17:13 But I, but the thing is, is you're right. But what if you feel like your team is you just need a say? Like what if you feel like your team? So I would argue this New Jersey think they're one player away from having a deep run in the playoffs. If they think that they're, you know, Jacob Markstrom away from winning a couple rounds in the playoffs, you might want to go all in. What if you're Carolina and you think you've got a really good team, but you just don't have stability in that position? And you want three playoff runs from this particular player.
Starting point is 00:17:47 and he's 34 years old in playing the best hockey he's played. So, you know, and there's no guarantee that you're going to get that level of play the next year or the following year. Maybe you do want somebody at the top of his game right now because he is having a, you know, we'd call it a career year or one of them. So, you know, that's the, I guess the spicy meatball we're dealing with because if you're a manager and you're like, hey, my team's really good, but we just don't trust our goaltending. we can trade for a guy at the top of his game right now who's brilliant. Like that might be the difference in, you know, winning us a round or two in the playoffs if we feel like we're a good team. So you might go all in on that and mortgage the future.
Starting point is 00:18:29 You see LA last night? No kidding. I did. I was going to say. Against in Buffalo? Holy shit. Like Retro, you had a front row seat at least two out of the three times with Hashik and Kiprasoff.
Starting point is 00:18:42 You've seen firsthand what a goal he can do for an ad. average hockey team, let alone a team that maybe feels they're a player. If you're the GM of the devils or the kings or one of these right now in Markstrom, are you having seen it yourself, are you not doing everything you can? I'm a goalie. They're my favorite people. I'm going to do anything to have one of the best goalies in the league because as soon as you have that, you have a chance.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I say the flames have a chance of making the playoffs because Markstrom's playing so good. Only because, yeah. Yes. The one and only reason you can do anything with goaltending. Anything's possible. Florida Panthers, down three one. Boss, yes, Florida's a good team. But it wasn't their team that got them out of that hole.
Starting point is 00:19:30 No, it was a goalie. Yep, you're right. But the league, I've had a general manager say this to me. The league should just be called goalie. Totally. If you don't have good goaltending, you notice it. If you do have good goaltending, then you just, you bank on it. You just go, okay, we got a good goalie. Let's see what the team looks like.
Starting point is 00:19:50 But that's what we're dealing with. And you're right. L.A. Kings give up a touchdown last night. They don't have a lot of leeway there. They don't have a lot of leeway. Well, and it's Ridditch and Talbot and Coplay. Like, I'm sorry. And it's Blake and late in his contract. Yeah. That is a desperate GM. He's fired a coach. And look, Talbot was found money, but he's hurt now. And Coplay always felt like a flash in the pan. and Dave Riddick posted 930, that stopped last night. Well, yeah. I mean, big save Dave.
Starting point is 00:20:19 You guys have seen that up front and personal. Like, I love David Riddick, but we all know, like, he's a two in the league at best, right? And which is, there's no shame in that. Your guys are talking to one. So, you know, at the end of the day, it's more about if you feel like your team as a legitimate contender, which I do believe L.A. feels that. then why are you not having depth at every position and not just depth that gets you through
Starting point is 00:20:48 like a serious serious player? I would be all in, but the problem is you need two to dance. And what is Connie asking for? Because, you know, you're not, they're not just trading. What is Connie asking for? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:04 I have no idea what Connie would be asking for. The rumored package was something along the lines of the Holtz rookie at first and then you'd have to probably take some money or eat some salary, but that's where things sort of fell apart. So if you get a good young roster player and a first, I think that's a starting point. And how good that young player is probably depends on how much more you need to add. That holds kid's high pedigree. Dawson Mercer's a guy you've talked about, Dino. I feel like that in the first, why wouldn't you keep talking on the phone? Yeah, I think you need to have, it has to be, like I don't know if
Starting point is 00:21:37 you're trying to stockpile draft picks if you're Connie. I think you need good young players. Like that's the other thing. If you're retooling, you can get a little bit of both. You can get, like you said, the first rounder, you can also get a really quality, hot, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:54 I guess prospect, the guy that could step right in or is close to playing in the NHL. But these packages have to be complex. And if you're eating salary, you don't just throw in a seventh round and eat salary. That's, you know, that's, that's, That's money out of the pocket, right?
Starting point is 00:22:09 I was going to ask and talk about that, and you may not have, I don't think any of us have the answers, but when the Zadorov deal was done, he goes to Vancouver on the basis that there was no salary retention. And that was big for the flames. The Leafs really could have used Zadourav. Remember, at the time, there was talking, he was going there weeks before that trade went down. Yeah, but they did, I'm just wondering, what is the price? Because Zadorov was, what, a three, four million dollar player? Right.
Starting point is 00:22:35 We're talking about one to two million dollars. of salary retention for March. What if it's three? What if it's north of that? Is that alone a first round pick? I don't know. We saw what it took for Montreal to take Sean Monaghan. That was a first round pick to take his,
Starting point is 00:22:49 essentially take his money. We're in that same ballpark here, I feel like. That's another high end pick. And to your point, Dean, the cap is tighter for most teams than it was that offseason with Monaghan. I think this sort of, this goes up and down like the tides with when there's cap space, you probably, it doesn't cost as much for teams to go get people to money. When everyone's tight, you could probably charge a little more.
Starting point is 00:23:10 You can. And here's the other thing. Connie, again, is dealing from a position of strength because his team's winning for the most part. People are happy. You know, it's, they look like they're playing with confidence. He's still got big decisions to make on the other players. But Markstrom, you know, at the start of the year, he probably didn't have the plan of, him being in the mix to be moved. So you're, you're probably sitting there going, this is potentially found money if he's a guy that would want to be moved or I can move him for, you know, some assets. To me, it's a win-win.
Starting point is 00:23:45 And the closer you get to the deadline, you're going to watch these teams give up a touchdown going, we need somebody today. We need somebody yesterday. Yeah. And go, that might put you over the top. You know, that's another thing is the pressure points. Let's get it going. LA, seven goals last night.
Starting point is 00:24:04 I just looked as I wanted to make sure. Conroy and Rob Blake played together in L.A. In the short time he was there, they're tight. They're thick as thieves. Yes, best friends. I'm sure they summer together, you know, that sort of thing. I mean, the thing about it, though, is I would argue, I don't even know if you make Markstrom a $4 million goal tender,
Starting point is 00:24:29 that he'd be able to fit in their cap structure. I don't have it in front of me, but like, I think you. For sure. Two and a half. You've got to take something back for sure. There's no doubt. So, you know, you're going to have to move out a live body. And, you know, the live body is not going to be, you know, Joe Smith type of thing.
Starting point is 00:24:47 It's going to be, it's got to, you're going to have to, like, it's got to be a big package. And the package is going to have to include somebody that you really covet. And, you know, it's going to be. I'm going to need some quitting byfield. Yes. That's what I was just going to say, you know. happening but yeah that's what aimed for why isn't it happening well i just think that when you look at what they have like he's he's the guy might be their only untouchable at this point really um he's their
Starting point is 00:25:15 best young player that's what i would say yeah as of right now but prior to now it was kempa and fiala and those guys kind of go down the line yeah that's one guy that they drafted high in the last five years they've had a lot of years of being bad hey rob robert robin whatever rob's short for Robbins. You know what I have in my hand right here? It's a Stanley Cup ring. Oh my God. Wow. It's a cup ring.
Starting point is 00:25:42 Gosh, and it's got your name on it. And what's the 23, 24? That's this year? I've got it right here. How bad do you want it? And I know your contract's up at the end of the year. And the pressure, it's tight. It's tight like a snare drum.
Starting point is 00:25:54 It's tight like a golf ball. You want the ring? It's right here. I think, you know, you're right. It's just, do they think that they're a goalie away from winning a cup. Do they think they're a goalie away from being better than Colorado, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg. Vegas.
Starting point is 00:26:13 They had a glimpse though, right? When Phoenix Copley was playing well at the start of the season, they got a chance to see what that team is with good to above average. Copley was really good. I didn't see it coming. He was really good. And I guess if I don't know what his injury, I know he's on the LTIR and I don't know when he's coming back.
Starting point is 00:26:31 But at least you have a glimpse as to what this team is. can be when goaltending isn't killing you. Yeah. I mean, they've been, they've been dreadful here for so long. It is. Hired their coach.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Now they might go cheaper and cheerful and go, we're going to do the Aden Hill type of, you know, way. Yeah. Yeah. You're right. Because I'm,
Starting point is 00:26:55 I'm a big McKenzie Blackwood guy. I think Blackwood's a really good goaltender. And we've never seen him in a winning situation. He was in Jersey and a rebuild. he's in San Jose in a rebuild. And if you look at that tandem statistically, they've got some stolen games. Their underlying numbers are pretty strong.
Starting point is 00:27:14 I think Blackwood is a really nice find. The other thing that I, you know, talking to people in L.A., they don't have any goalies under contract for next year. I think Blackwood's got another year at 2. 2.8 or whatever. You're right. Park from down to four. He's your number one for the next two and a half years,
Starting point is 00:27:31 three playoff runs. Let's go, baby. Listen, I can make a case for it, but my point being is, I'm also, if I'm Craig Conroy, I am asking for a King's ransom. Yeah, you're right. You might just go, Quentin Byfield, Quentin Byfield gets it done and Rob Blake hangs up the phone goes, I can't do that. So then it's a non-starter.
Starting point is 00:27:51 You know, you do have these conversations like, Connie is not in the job of doing people's favors right now. He's got to make his team better. So they have a first this year, no secondary. No third. You know what? Hey, Rob, Robin, I'm not here to rape and pillage you. Just the Byfield kid.
Starting point is 00:28:11 He's a great kid. He's been playing great. I don't need a bunch of picks. I'm not, I'm here to help you, Rob. Let's, we're such tight buddies. Let's, let's just, you know. Retro, you know, Rob. Right?
Starting point is 00:28:23 Get this thing. Blakey, don't you call him Blake. Weren't you guys hanging out? Yeah, we're, yeah. You were hanging out the rink there. Kids were enamored, remember? He loved the whale joke. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Absolutely. He loves the whale. Everybody loves the whale. I've got a video. I have a video of the whale joke somewhere in my archives. No. Yeah. We got to get that for,
Starting point is 00:28:43 I thought that was maybe pre-video era. Yeah. I was dressed up as Dr. Spock. And I think Robin was Elvis. Monty was like Tequila Man or something. There was some real great outfits, put it that way. and Rhett, you were like Daffy Duck or something. I was, yeah, I was Super Duck.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Super Duck, there it was. So anyways, but yes, getting back to the trade market, I think you're right. If Markstrom is the shining, you know, star, McKenzie Blackwood would be, you know, plan B for some of these teams. And don't think that, that I would imagine that Jersey's called on him. I would think that Carolina's called on my I would even think that Toronto may have called on Mackenzie Blackwood to see his availability so be interesting to see what Mike Greer does and I watched
Starting point is 00:29:41 you know I'm sure you guys tuned in last night to Ottawa Columbus I did that game um you know Elvis Elvis uh Elvis Merslickens is available now Elvis comes with some baggage unfortunately but he's uh you know he's a decent goaltender Elvis has left the building yeah no not a great year no Thank you, Mama. No, thank you, Mama. Could I throw something real quick? I mean, sorry, I know you're trying to move on. No, they got a lot of prospects. You got Brandt Clark. You got Turcotte. They've got their first the next three years. I love Byfield. I think you absolutely asked for him. But it isn't as if the LA Kings don't have prospects in a cupboard full of very nice young players. They've not been good for a while now. They've been picking high. They even moved out a bunch in the Winnipeg deal. They saw Dersie and Walker leave on the back end. They still got a bunch of of good kids that aren't really playing big minutes there. And they've got Arvidson in the last year of his deal. He's making big
Starting point is 00:30:35 money. We'll take him as the caught. Maybe you need to keep whatever. You can, you have the availability here to be that landing spot for some bad money and jettison out some guys that can be real difference makers. It's not that hard. Redd says it all the time.
Starting point is 00:30:51 We can do this. You can do it. It's just a matter of executing it. But I just, I mean, if you get Markstrom to one of these teams, it instantly, you know, pushes them up the standings as far as contender. Yes. But that's, you know, how much, that would be my question. How much, you know, if, if, like I brought it up, if Markstrom goes to L.A.,
Starting point is 00:31:13 who are you taking when we just line up? Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Vegas, and Dallas, forgetting about Dallas to. Colorado? Colorado. Well, I care. Which L-A team are we talking about? They looked like the best team in the division two months in, and they've looked like shit since.
Starting point is 00:31:34 So it's more than just the goal-tending there. But when they looked right, they looked as good as anyone in the West. They did. They went, what, 16 in a row on the road with a loss? At least with Markstrom, you get more than one year. Yeah, right? Like, you can say, well, we might not. Maybe you don't win against Vegas or Colorado or Dallas this year.
Starting point is 00:31:51 But certainly, it gives you a chance to win. You're not going to beat them without them. Right, right. So if you got him, you got a chance to win and you can do it this year or next year or the next year if he's playing. Anyway, it is hard. Clearly, it's not an easy deal to swing. Do you want Red to come on overdrive today and talk about this? Because we'll get him to write down the name of the podcast.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Yeah. I'm ready. Well, I'll even, we would even font him properly so that people would be able to read that he's on the show. He didn't even. Podcaster. He didn't bring it up. He didn't bring it up when we had him on last time. I think Hayes brought it up, but he didn't bring it up.
Starting point is 00:32:30 You know, we'll make sure that he has a barn burner shirt on or something. So anyways. Bragg about my success in life. Exactly. Look at the cove soda. Outta boy. Very fired up. How much to kill you got in there?
Starting point is 00:32:44 Half and half? That's only 1240. Not allowed. I'm saving myself for when Kipper's in town. How's that shaping up? I talked to him the other day. So he seems like he's still coming, which is a good thing. Did you discuss the speech?
Starting point is 00:33:01 No, I haven't. I'll tell you what, I'm not sure if it's on Betway, the betting app. It's a national anthem. I mean, it's minus that you're essentially making the speech, that he comes up and mutters something, and then you come up and tell some stories, you're so engaging. How long is your speech going to be? Listen, noodles.
Starting point is 00:33:21 Listen, I'm doing this as a friend that knows the whole crew that's going to be around there, And I know this little bugger that's having his jersey retired. He's going to screw you. And this is how he's going to do it. He's not going to tell you that he wants you to speak for him. He's going to go up in front of everyone and go, thank you very much. I'm not good at speaking.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Noodles is going to talk for him. Yeah. And they'll start laughing. Yes. Yes. But I'm going to be prepared. Put it that way. I'm going to be prepared for everything.
Starting point is 00:33:52 And you asked me how much, how long I'm going to speak. Whatever Peter Hanlon tells me, I will do it. Put it that way. It's a 620 start for an 8 o'clock puck drop. That's literally what the flames are pushing out there. Noodles will have his little cove. I might have to do a 45-minute stand-up bit. Who knows?
Starting point is 00:34:17 I might have to do something. I said to Pete yesterday or two days ago we were talking about it. I just said, like, I can't, what I want to do, do with my speech in that, I can't have a bunch of inside jokes that people don't understand. Because that just falls flat because you'll get eight people on the ice laughing about it. Yeah, like you can't, what you have to do is make it, you know, general, engage everybody, all of that type of stuff. I'm excited for it.
Starting point is 00:34:44 I spoke at Luongos and I thought I did. I mean, Louis was really good. Kevin B.XA was unbelievable. But there was, you know, some, it was a good, like I thought it was done. well, the flames are going to roll out the red carpet. They're going to do everything they can. You know, Mika is so special to them. It's going to be a great night.
Starting point is 00:35:02 But you're right. Like I would anticipate Mika maybe speaking for two minutes, honestly. Like that's just... The bedway over under is eight and a half seconds and there's a lot of money coming in on the under. So you got some shoes to fill, buddy. Yeah. He does pull the rug out. That would be tremendous.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Oh. I mean, there's several ways he can jam me up. I have no idea what's coming, but I will be ready for it. Put it that way. Yeah, I like that a lot. No, it'll be fun. It'll be fine. So I'm saving myself for that.
Starting point is 00:35:28 What's the crew? Is it like 20 guys? Is the whole 04 roster? Like who have you assembled to help celebrate with Mika? You know what? The guys I've only heard, you know, retro Robin, I think, Kami, guys like that. And then I was texting with Rennie Bork the other day. So I think Borky's coming in.
Starting point is 00:35:45 I was texting with Iggy yesterday. Iggy and Connie obviously be there. So you've got, you know, kind of that group. I haven't heard. Oh, I was talking. I talked to Curtis McEleney two days ago, and Curtis was going to try and make it. There's a lot of people that are trying to make it fit into their schedule.
Starting point is 00:36:03 So I think CMAQ was going to come. So there's, you know, I think some of the people that are invited are at least, you know, honored by it. Like Curtis Joseph, I was texting with him. I don't know if Kujo will make it. Brian Bouchet, same thing.
Starting point is 00:36:18 Like Bush works like me. He calls games. So I don't know if he'll be able to make it. So like a lot of Kippers' backups and stuff, were invited. I think the whole crew, Kujo and Bouchet and myself and the Calgary Tower,
Starting point is 00:36:33 Henry Carlson, I don't know if he would be, I would love for him a Roman Turk to just show up. I was just going to say, who's the random guy we've got to get in? I was thinking, Oluwa.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Oh, my God. The Polish prince, the Polish prince. I loved him. Yeah, he was the, but I don't know. Like that guy would,
Starting point is 00:36:54 show up, who knows what that guy would look like. Like, you know, if he was bald now or like rough or, you know, some guys if they let themselves go, like that's, that would be hard for me to not make a comment in front of 20,000 people. If that guy walked out and he's let himself go. Like, you know, we talked to only while during the, I guess it was 2020, right? Pinder, were you on for that? We had Cron on. I was not there that day.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Because that was the sausage. How did he look? Well, he, it wasn't. video at the time. It was just, it was, we were on the radio, that terrible AM radio. I can't believe it's still alive. Anyway, and he was running like youth hockey or something. Wow. So he was at least he was still putting a skate somewhere. Yeah, it was pre-COVID in the States, I think is what it was. Yeah. Yeah. Well, he's a good guy. I just remember he had a flat head on the back. It was flat. And he told me it's because his parents didn't turn him when he was a kid. So he laid
Starting point is 00:37:54 Yeah, in the crib that he had a flat back of his head. I'll never forget that in my lifetime. You know, you remember something about everybody. That's what I remember about Christopho. Was that he said, I have a flat head. And he would, like, show it to me. I would, like, rub the back of his head. Well, if he does look terrible, I'll let you go and tell him that he looks terrible.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Not a chance. You tell that flat head story in front of 1929. That'll be good. You go do that. That guy stuffed me in a garbage can in front of everybody. I know that. That's fine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Yeah. But you're about pleasing the crowd. The crowd would get a kick out of that. That's true. But I'm looking forward to it. I'm, you know, I think the speeches will be good. Again, I'm not sure who's speaking and all of that. I'm sure Connie will make, make a comment.
Starting point is 00:38:39 I'm sure. I don't know if maybe Iggy will. I said, we got to let you go get some roses because I know you like wife loves roses. One, anyway. Red roses. I said that Conroy and Iggy better get their fricking, this trade deadline bullshit is going to get in the way of a lot. lot of fun if they're not done making all their moves. So let's get the moves done prior so that we could focus on the important stuff.
Starting point is 00:39:01 That's true. I forgot it's before the trade deadline, not after. So you mention that to them when you talk to those guys, say, fellas, come on. I'll lay it into it. Say, yeah, like, but then what would we all do on trade deadline? We're just sitting there. Yeah, exactly. You're sitting there for eight hours.
Starting point is 00:39:16 Speak for yourself. I'm sitting there on, you know, trade center and, you know, all hell will break loose or nothing happens. That's the way. Yeah, I was going to ask, how's Duthy? We got the Lindholm deals done. Monaghan's gone.
Starting point is 00:39:29 There could be a couple more done for you. Donkey's sitting up there all day. You know what? O'Dog is the more guy who's mad because Dutty can create content like in his sleep. He's unbelievable. He's a genius at it. O'Dong was like,
Starting point is 00:39:44 you know, when you start having, when you start having guys that are like depth players or guys in the minors, like bit pieces he calls him. Like there's not much to talk about. to break down. So that's where you're concerned about.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Eric Gryba is heading to Ottawa. We've got him on the phone line. Exactly. We're like, all right. You're looking up hockey TV. Did you see it coming, Eric? Yeah, exactly. So that's where you're concerned about.
Starting point is 00:40:07 So, no, I'm still looking forward. The night before I'm in L.A., I'm taking the red eyes back so I can make it. So it'll be on fumes that day. But it'll be fun. Lots of energy on that day. Beauty. Go get those roses. Appreciate you, as always, pal.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Happy Valentine. You as well. I'm actually thinking maybe a chocolate chip cookie that's shaped like a heart. Yeah. Junk food. Don't you think? Well, they sell the always a good idea. BP, they have the heart shaped pizzas on. We are doing that. We're doing that tonight. We're doing the heart shaped pizza for our nanny and for everybody that's at the house. But I feel like, you know, maybe the heart shaped cookie or, you know, like I went to my Italian bakery the other day and they had like a charcutory board shaped like a heart.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Oh. Yeah, with meats and cheeses. Love in charcutory. Yeah, meats and cheeses. That's what I'm going to do. So I'm going in. You're getting sweaty tonight one way or the other. Either there's a bedroom or with the salted meats.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Yeah, the meat sweats. I'm going to have the meat sweats. I'll be asleep on my couch by 930. Your beauty. Love you. See you guys. There is on the Tellus Insider Hotline. Tell us.

The best. Yeah, he's unbelievable. So, L.A., huh? We get this deal done? Well, I mean, we talked about two places at length.
Starting point is 00:41:49 I mean, New Jersey is where the rumors were. But the thing about it is with L.A., right? They gave a touch, like a touchdown. Oh, it's, yeah. Buffalo. To the Sabres. Do I think, and I believe the Sabres had scored one goal in each home prior three home games. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Three prior homes. Yeah, that. It's like, ooh, the room with Dubois, things are, the room's kind of unsettled. You know what can bring a, room together winning a bunch of games. Yeah. That's the order. It's out there. Fun, right? On this new coach, God damn, he's smart. You know what makes a coach smart? Goal. That's really good. And you're right. If it's not, okay, so it's not,
Starting point is 00:42:34 Brand Clark and something, they've got lots of, lots of youth there. Yeah. Yeah. And look, I mean, this is what we talk about why we talk about, you know, you'd love to get these deal done, deals done in November and December. But how much more pressure is Rob, under now than he was in November. How much more pressure is Julian Breezwander to get a defenseman than he was two weeks ago before Circuit Shep got carted off and looks like he's done for the year?
Starting point is 00:42:58 How much more pressure is in Toronto to get a D and a goalie than there was? Like this is why I think it's tough, but you do have to trust the process of getting within a few weeks of the deadline because there's GM's freaking out right now. Yeah, tell that to Tanniv when he's. Well, that's a different set of risks and rewards. But when he's what? What's that?
Starting point is 00:43:16 I don't want to. Don't say it. I don't want a jin. The only issue that we have, the only issue that we have is dumb flames fans and followers is that we think we're the only team. There's lots options out there, but they've got the best goalie on the market and arguably
Starting point is 00:43:33 two of the best three. Regardless, the best goalie demands the biggest price. That's right. Oh, yeah, well, okay, that's. I'll take the second best. You'd have to be very convicted that this, this is what you need more than anything else. That this is the key for that lock that unlocks a,
Starting point is 00:43:49 major you have to be really, really sure. But like you say, like No, where are you with Colorado, Edmonton, Beck? It's not one run. No. Still a lot of that team is young and you're getting this guy for three potential playoff pushes. You noted that it's like LA's got no one under cap for goalies next year. Imagine if you had Markstrom pencilled in at three or four and you could add a backup for a
Starting point is 00:44:15 million. Like how efficient are you spending five million bucks on netmine? And that might save Blake's job, right? Like he's got, don't kid just, I think Rob Blake is entrenched in the LA Kings. And I think he's done a decent job and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. They're fighting it right now.
Starting point is 00:44:33 But, but if they don't make it and I don't know that they're going to make it. They're tumbling. It's amazing with how poorly they've played that they're still in that conversation, to be honest. And they still have a ton of their house. Yeah. They should take it. But how can you have them going. into a playoff series who are they going to play it doesn't matter any of those top teams
Starting point is 00:44:56 they're not going to be at home so they're going to be a road team you're going to colorado you're going to go to Colorado with that goal tending you're freaking done it's like darrell said a couple years ago it's you're wasting eight days of your life waste of eight days yeah what would you be looking at uh Colorado Vancouver or Dallas today yeah yeah potentially but good teams Yeah. And look, okay, we talked about Jersey, we talked about L.A. We haven't talked about Carolina. That's a team that.
Starting point is 00:45:26 But they seem to have found their footing a little bit. I still think you're right. I think you're right that they don't have a goaltender that they probably trust. But they, what you said five minutes ago about the pressure, it's less for Carolina. Probably, yeah. And again, are you cool running Kachetkov or Ranta up against Shistercant in round two? No, but. you could get better.
Starting point is 00:45:50 And then the other ones, like Toronto, they just need save. Now, last night, they had, they allowed 15 shots. It's like, who the hell are these Leafs? And they did it with Riley missing and a couple other big name guys out. I think Tavares and Marner were playing. But like, that's been a very loose, poor defensive team. They need to address the D. But are you rolling with Samsona of Martin Jones or Joseph Wall in that?
Starting point is 00:46:11 What are we talking about here? None of those guys are the best goalie in a series you're going to have in the playoffs. Can I say something to? This is going to be insanity, probably. but if Booms asking for Dustin Bufth, Dustin Bufle, I love Justin, don't be right. Who's the guy in Byfield? By,
Starting point is 00:46:28 yeah, obviously high pick, going to be a hell of a player. Yeah. What's Marner? Is he available in a trade with the Leafs? Mars go to leave left. That's a very interesting angle. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:44 flush that out, Ryan. What do you, what did you kind of? Well, I just, So Toronto isn't necessarily in a half to win now thing, but they're certainly positioned to win. If they could add one or two D and a goalie, which sounds like a lot and kind of is, why not them?
Starting point is 00:46:59 They haven't been a bad team. They just haven't got goaltending when it mattered. You saw what Florida could do. They had less points in the flames last year. They get goaltending. They roll to the final. Marner, you want for a playoff series, but is Marner in their long-term plans?
Starting point is 00:47:14 They re-up Nielander at Big Doe. I don't know. Look at the team if you set it up differently. They need a defenseman. Big time. And a goaltender. They need Hanlinson and Markstrom. So package them up.
Starting point is 00:47:26 You get Marner and what else in return. Like it might, I don't know, maybe it sounds fun. So maybe I'm talking about it because it sounds like lots of fun. But it does, they're not going to be able to hang on to those guys. The team I would think, as far as the Leafs are concerned, are better with a dependent.
Starting point is 00:47:46 defenseman in Markstrom than Marner. Probably. I don't think they lack offensive talent and scoring ability. And to your point, it's the same amount of money. Like, Marner's making 10 plus and Markstrom's coming in that you're going to eat some of the six. Hanifan's making five. But I just, yeah,
Starting point is 00:48:02 it feels like they've got to make a decision on Marner in the next year anyway, right? Next 16 months. I know Tavares' money's is coming off the books, but can you is, has it worked? No. Are you going to keep running it back? Or do you spend that 11 to 13 million elsewhere.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Even if the various money is coming off the books, you've got, you've improved your team, you've given yourself a chance to win the next couple of years, and you've got Tavares money is coming off the books. So you've got it to spend in other places where you might need it, right? Okay, so let's play the other side. If you're Craig Conroy, do you want the last year of Mitch Marner heading into free agency? I would, when can you re-up him? July 1.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Well, the other side, then yes, I do. And I'll tell you what. He's motivated, right? He's motivated. If he doesn't, it's like. like Kuzmenko a bit. Everyone knows who Marner is.
Starting point is 00:48:50 If he's not working out in Calgary, you can't move this guy? I absolutely can. I think that's what he would probably be. If Connie's looking at how do I win a cup in three years, I don't know that extending Marner's the move so much is dangling you next year for a hole, right?
Starting point is 00:49:05 You know what I said? What did I bitch about with the Florida deal? How do you re-sign these guys immediately not knowing what you're going to have? And on one guy, thank God you resigned you did the Uighur deal because he can look for a lot more. Anyway, on the other guy, it's like, son of a
Starting point is 00:49:23 why, well, how are we going to deal with this? But you're like, it's the same with Marner. Bring him in. You have a year to figure it out. Don't wait and see. And if he's like, look, it's not a fit or we finish look, hey, GM, like, we're going to be bottom 10 here. What are we doing here? It's like, you don't think you could move that guy for an absolute haul.
Starting point is 00:49:43 Like we're seeing guys like, you can eat some of the money again? Just like, I don't know. Maybe it's, again, it sounds like a fun deal to try and make. And they're right up against the cap. So it, it, it, there's a lot of layers. And it would be Marner. Plus, if you're moving both guys, like obviously. Have to be. So you by now if, if we're, armchair GMing, we're having some fun here. You'd have to know where Markstrom would go. Because you're not going to go all the way down the line with a leaf conversation. This is What scares me. But all I'm saying is, are you going to spend hours, days working on a potential deal here?
Starting point is 00:50:22 We're moving this. You go to Jake. He's like, I hate Toronto. I'm not going to Toronto. Okay. Well, sorry, Brad. There's a week of your life. You're never getting back.
Starting point is 00:50:31 If you're, if you're, if you're, if you're, he's entertaining the thought of moving. Okay. Well, give us an idea. Because there again, you can ballpark. Carolina, L.A. You're not going to Dallas, right? You're not going to Vancouver. There's.
Starting point is 00:50:45 Why do we assume that playing in Toronto is Shittsville? I'm just saying. It's not for everyone, but I'll tell you what. I know guys that are going to play. Clark Willem is the greatest place of the world to play. You are a god. Yeah, the people that are built for it, it's the best. And others, it's like, nope, not me.
Starting point is 00:51:06 I think Markstrom would be fine there. Yeah, anyway, I just, it always comes across is that Toronto's not a real great place to play. and I'm like, I guess maybe it takes a certain mental makeup, but good grief. That seems there is nothing. Boom, you talk to Tree. When he went there, it's like, how is it, Tree? Well, you don't want for a lot.
Starting point is 00:51:30 You have access to anything and everything immediately all the time and at your whim. Yeah, as, as Wendell Clark and Doug Gilmore and Matt Sending, how they like Toronto. They didn't even win. No, that's my whole point. If you ever won there, you'd be a demigod. Forever. Less than 50 grand to sign your name on something. Like, you're set for life if you ever won there.
Starting point is 00:51:53 You could be the sixth defenseman there. You're a legend. That's probably why Gio signed for 800 grand there. It's like, well, think of the legacy piece. A little delivery there, retro. Oh, my God, Shavlerina. That's delicious. Happy Valentine's Day to you.
Starting point is 00:52:09 Moka. Cinnamon Heart? What do you got there? It's just a lot of love in a cup right. Okay. So yesterday, just for, and just keep it on, go back to that shot, Jack, if you don't mind. You said I was maybe giving you a hard time about your set,
Starting point is 00:52:28 your backdrop. It can be critical, Dan. Is that, is that clothing that's hanging to dry? Like, essentially that's what that is, right? Is somebody has done some laundry and that's your, that's the rack hanging shirts and clothing. thing to dry after. I was ironing before the show, Dean, and I just threw them
Starting point is 00:52:49 on it. The side hustle. Who else? Who else has a fucking ironing board or laundry on their set? Nobody. What if I'm spilling my shirt? I got a change. That's not why
Starting point is 00:53:05 it's there. The squeeze mayonnaise on the floor? What are we talking about here? This is of course right this. You got hoodies. The only thing that surprised me is there isn't some gotch, some 16 year old kid gotch hanging on there with some bacon on it. I don't, I don't, I don't hang. Walk us through what's in your room.
Starting point is 00:53:24 So you've got laundry. Man-eil's flag. Yeah. We know you had mayonnaise at one point. What else is there? I got some books. Hang on. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:53:38 There's no other show. I swear to God. I'll be careful. Don't unplug. We need the video. Don't unplug for sure. Books. Look at the books.
Starting point is 00:53:48 You're a reader. I'm a student. Yeah. Oh, see? Yeah. Yeah. Good while it lasted.
Starting point is 00:53:57 If you saw the Christmas special. Those are my new PJ pants, the blue and red over there. And then I got the beanbag chairs with the game. Yeah, that you were laying on, some headphones. My eff and pillow.
Starting point is 00:54:13 So, is that a video game? Yeah. Head. There's a little. That's about Andre. That's about it. You got the delegates hanging in the other room, Rhett? Yeah, we don't mix, right?
Starting point is 00:54:27 Yeah, yeah. I wish Frank was on. Really? Do you? I do. Because Frank would flip the F out. We'll send him the clip. I feel like that's going to be a social clip today. Am I crazy? There's a pike. You pike. Very good. It looks very sturdy.
Starting point is 00:54:49 I agree. Pike, very astute observation. A lot of different configurations you can go with. Yeah, yeah. Just. I've also got some luggage on the other side of the desk. Oh, good. Of interest.
Starting point is 00:55:04 Because you're off to Minnesota. Anyway. Pants, red? I might not be great at, uh, at, uh, I'm wearing shorts. I just came from the gym. Why do I have to wear pants? Shorts are fine. That's good.
Starting point is 00:55:18 very shorts in the summer? Not in my undies. They're trying. I was going to say something, but I can't remember what. Yeah, I know. It happens. A lot. Hey, he was asking me yesterday, how did New Haven come up?
Starting point is 00:55:34 Because we got to the- New Bedford. New Bedford. Yeah, Ryan, going to send you outside. I'm sorry, I'm just figured out. Go ahead. How did New Bedford come up yesterday? Because it came up in conversation last night.
Starting point is 00:55:50 So, Georgie Sweetland, listen to the show. We playing the hits. No. What was New Bedford? Dean thought a wrestler was from there, but. It started before that, though. Someone got to New Bedford. And there was snow in New York, and then we talked about something in Connecticut and Massachusetts and how do you spell that.
Starting point is 00:56:07 And then New Bedford came up. Yeah, I don't really remember how exactly we got there, but we got there. You sure did. So you don't remember how new Bedford was. Jack? How we brought it up or how it? How did it come to be? Our conversation.
Starting point is 00:56:20 Yeah. I don't remember. remember wasn't it the john sina thing shut up jack it was the john sina wasn't it no new bedford came up and i said i think that's maybe the home of john sina which it isn't after jack took 90 minutes to google that's right newberry jack what are you doing for your uh valentine's day oh boy well i came in this morning bob germany's here he asked me and i went fuck there's a lot there so so when this I'll be figuring that out. I don't have an answer right now. I told them there's a nice flower shop two blocks down the street.
Starting point is 00:57:04 I'm putting their kids through college. So you've been putting up Vena Nova ads for weeks and Valentine's Day snuck up on you. Yeah, correct. That is confirmed. Shit. You know what? Pinder's going to text our boy, Justin. You go down there. Yeah. And it'll take care of money.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Some star credit. Let's go. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, gosh. And we please figure out the new Bedford? Bob Jernaby. Do you know what the new Bedford was about?
Starting point is 00:57:36 Jeremy. Somebody listening now? How we got there, right? It was, I think, no, here's what it was. I got it. We were talking about snow. Snow out that way. Good morning football was doing it remote.
Starting point is 00:57:51 You looked at the weather forecast. Oh, holy crap. There's a lot going on. Right. Out east over new. Lots of snow over New Bedford. That's right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:03 It wasn't worth it. What a town. No, that was a huge letdown. Yeah. Massive. Brad wants to know, did you get,
Starting point is 00:58:11 are you taking, tighten that up? Last little bit or went to last one. It did. It's going to play with it and it'll get bigger. Watch out there. Pardon me. Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 00:58:20 You know if you play with it. Let's do the, a couple things here. I've got to tell you about this. And we're getting ready for the Pinder report. So whatever that means. Hopefully it's better. yesterday.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Well, it's all of yesterdays. I don't know. What do we have yesterday? Can we have kangaroos fighting in the trailer park? Didn't the internet crap out? Oh, we had the barbed wire trampoline yesterday. That was pretty nails. Don't you ever talk poorly about that again?
Starting point is 00:58:45 Sorry, my bet. Boomer cutting that meat with his feet. Oh, that talent. Service Credit Union. The service big share is back for the sixth year, and it's your chance to win $1 million, just by saving money. Anyone can enter, you become a member
Starting point is 00:59:05 and start saving with service. Every $500 saved gives you five entries into the service, Big Share Contest, transfer your existing savings to service for chances to win $1 million. Contest ends April 30th, 2024. Skill test
Starting point is 00:59:21 required for rules, visit service.ca.com, win. That's service.ca slash win. Who else is offering you that kind of kind of a deal to really kind of do no one to do nothing nobody that's who it is you're right that's some of that that paid leave that's the good stuff there there's a million bucks you don't really have to do anything i'll tell's great yeah so what's so you're in like a storage closet then basically i'm thinking what's next because now we're hanging laundry in there and what's great is it
Starting point is 00:59:52 never dawned on you when you walked in and you saw the laundry there maybe i should you know wheel this thing out of here. No, it's real, right? That's authentic rat living right there. I don't, I don't, I don't, there's a lot of fancy people out there. I'm not one of them. Case, you know, we've known each other a while now, but I just want to let you know that I know that you up for a long time, assumed that I was a fancy pants. Mm-hmm. Well, when you moved to Buffalo, we were definitely deep in on a fancy pants angle. Yeah. Yeah, I know I paid for two flights home from Hawaii, but that's not true. because I knew very early on that you weren't a fancy pants.
Starting point is 01:00:34 I think it was probably two or three weeks after doing the show and I saw the boogs lined up on the pillar of your truck. The boogers. Yeah. And the three-year-old cheeseburger under your seat from the flood. You can have a place to put it. Some sort of pig mask. There's garbage everywhere in here.
Starting point is 01:00:55 Yeah, I learned fairly early that you were on. One of the best shows we ever did. I'm not sure. If that's accurate. Let's do it. It's the Pinder Report. It's a presentation of Village Honda. It's as though the Honda CRV was designed for Calgary and it's unpredictable weather.
Starting point is 01:01:12 No matter the condition, the CRV sits atop the pack among compact SUVs. You will feel confident behind the wheel of your CRV as Honda has included a plethora of driver safety features that come standard. Check out the CRV and more at Village Honda located in the Northwest Automol and online at VillageHonda. Did you say plethora? A plethora. That means lots, right? Like so many. It's an overwhelming amount of.
Starting point is 01:01:40 Okay. Got Flames news for you. A lot of concern, what, yesterday, the night before about the status of Jacob Peltze, Julian McKenzie bomb. I need something. I don't know, J-Mac. J-Mack. I don't have to call it.
Starting point is 01:01:55 How is this a bomb? Peltier. No more after practice. scans yesterday, looked all smiles, no slang of any. If this is a serious shoulder injury, there's something on that. So maybe Peltje's okay? What the hell booked a meet and greet a day after getting home from New York. And to be fair, if a guy's really hurt, you just sub somebody else into the old meet and greet.
Starting point is 01:02:20 Or canceled. Now we're reading Lee, tea leaves here, Dean. You're kind of reading. I think, I was told that it was a little better than first. anticipated that it was a little better yesterday. Okay. But I think they assumed it was the worst. So it's not as though there isn't an injury or that he's going to now not miss any time.
Starting point is 01:02:40 But remember, the worst was his season is over. And this is another catastrophic shoulder injury. So it's better than first anticipated. Yeah. And maybe it's not a shoulder at all. Maybe it's a jaw. It looks like he kind of clipped his head as he went down over the dashboard and you wouldn't need a sling for that.
Starting point is 01:02:56 We'll see. But it, again, if we're just. trying to dispel your fear for the worst, Dean. So maybe glass that fall here. We'll see. I'm the one that said it wasn't as bad as we thought. Wildcard standings, let's take a peek. This is confusing times, boys.
Starting point is 01:03:13 Look at this. The flames, three points behind St. Louis. So games played aren't exactly even, but boy, you feel like you're close. And then on the flip side, it's like, yeah, but what about the bottom? Where are they compared to the bottom? And it looks like they're, like,
Starting point is 01:03:26 tied for 11th or 12th from the bottom of the stand. which yeah where you don't want to be but also a spot where you could certainly make a run from if you were going to trade your second pair and a goal then conroy yes connie and uh jack's penguins right there at 541 they're in a tough spot too start making some moves there conroy rock get them out of town 10 is going to get hurt for sure and then we'll all be pissed off trade them first roy definitely trade them before he gets hurt that's the move. I was thinking about this from the other side. If you're, let's say, like, Tre Living or
Starting point is 01:04:03 Tommy Fitzgerald or someone that needs a defenseman, are you really not going to wait as long as you can to make sure that the injury happens before or after the deadline? Yeah. Like, here's the deal we'll agree on, and I'll press send on the fax machine on March 8. When does he start sitting? March 1st?
Starting point is 01:04:25 Yeah, I think the standings helped dictate that, but I'm kind of with you, Red. They've got to start having that chat. they? There's your calendar if you want to take a look. You got San Jose Thursday. Day to day. You guys are so out to lunch. You're in the, you're in the city and you got no info. I had the info. You didn't have any info. Pike just won up you. Day to day is so much better than initially thought. That was the whole point. They announced and we put it up. What are you talking about? Get involved with the team. Pike bomb helping us out.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Is Pike not part of the team? Pike's part of the team. Get him a honey. Mike's voice on this show. He's coming to Ballerama. He's part of the team. He's on act. Burner more than you are.
Starting point is 01:05:10 Shut that front door. Something. Just contribute something. Mike, we love you. Thank you, Pike. Good job, Pike. Hey, boys. That looked week to week.
Starting point is 01:05:21 It's not month to month. I thought it was done forever. I wish I was done forever. There is. There's the remainder of the month. It's four-game home stand. What's the guy got to do? We have word from the dog.
Starting point is 01:05:35 If I pull up Peter Marr and fall out of my chair, could I? He's done forever. Oh my goodness. Pete called a lot of good hockey after that. Don't you suggest falling out of your chair. I'm not saying he's a battler. I'm not.
Starting point is 01:05:48 I would have, I would have, I would have full advantage. Oh, my back. You know, you're such a prick. It came out a minute ago. One minute. You have. We had it first.
Starting point is 01:05:58 It should come out of you a minute ago. We had it before anybody else. And you're, I'd say go sit outside, but you're sitting amongst a bunch of garbage and trash anyway. You're swimming it. You're salmoning yourself up the stream to death is what you. You know, I'm going to send a shoveler a note to buy something fancy for yourself from Rhett for Valentine's Day. He just noted on the show, he really didn't get you enough. So just pick something really nice and order to the house.
Starting point is 01:06:23 You don't need to know my wife's phone number. You can just keep deleted. I can't forget it. Come on. Sear it into my brain. Which phone number, though? Which phone? Bad phone phone phone number.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Sends pictures every time it text. Let's go back to that calendar. It's a little less contentious, shall we? Four game homestand, there it is. Gets a little tougher as you go. Starts with the sharks. Not tough, but trappy. Detroit.
Starting point is 01:06:53 What about Detroit for Markstrom? They need a goal. Is it time, though? I don't know that it's their time yet. They drafted a kid at what, COSA a couple years ago. Yeah, he's a lot. Alex Lyon's been there, guy, hasn't he? He's been great.
Starting point is 01:07:06 Well, and Reimer was in for a bit, and then that Hoosso, they liked the law, but he hasn't been great. They got goalie soup over there. Is that Lynn's brother? They look pretty good against the Oilers. Come back from 3-1. Ryan, could you let Red get his thing in? He tried to have a funny in there.
Starting point is 01:07:19 He's trying to do a thing. Is that Lynn's brother? Whose? Lynn. I wonder if Lynn's going to be at Kippers thing. It's not. Lynn Loins. It's Lion.
Starting point is 01:07:32 Alex Lion. Well, you can say it however you want. I mean, it's changed the order of the letters. Is that Lynn's brother? Lynn Lion? What fuck are you talking about? It's got relatives. There's part of me that like the show gets to this level where it's just flat out stupid.
Starting point is 01:07:52 Who can say the dumber thing right now? I do like it. It's tough competition. If it's going to be, who can say the dumbest? thing. Oh, there's a lot of dumb. Yeah. We hit our corner in the market and dumb. Do you ever lay in bed and think about how dumb you are? I did. I was doing that. I did last night. Yes.
Starting point is 01:08:09 All the time. I'm like, yeah. How, what an idiot you are? Shut up, brain. Shut up, brain. I didn't sleep here. God damn it. I'm tired, brain. We need to sleep. Back to the calendar, if we could really quickly. Dinosan calendar. I wish you'd show it already. Right.
Starting point is 01:08:30 Winnipeg. They've not done well since Sean Monaghan got there. No slap shots are on my RV. Fit in, Sean. Let's go. A little shitty attitude shown. And the Bruins next Thursday. He is such a dick.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Guys were so happy when he was finally gone. Yes. Finally. God, try to get a word in edgewise with this guy. Tim, we're out of here. 24th, join us in Greta. It's a game in Edmonton. Hey, at least they won't be extending their winning street to 25 games or something at that.
Starting point is 01:09:04 I was going to come back for that game, but I got in trouble from my coaching career. How's that going by the way? We have too many games and not enough games and we need more games, but not too many games. And make sure there's games in the schedule, but make sure you let me know when the games are so I can pick or choose if we should have those games. How you doing there, Rat, coaching? I love it. It's really, it's special to be able to be with the games. kids and spend the time and help to develop parents too especially so i hate my fucking parents the
Starting point is 01:09:34 parents you're enjoying it so much that next year you're going to shoot myself to the moon now but in fair he and elon have been talking about that's right yes get me on that fucking you boys get on that penis-shaped rocket of bezos just get me out of here care what it looks like. I'm just on it. I'm out. Did you have a preseason meeting with the parents, though, to kind of lay out? You know what I told the parents? I said, there's one way this season doesn't go well.
Starting point is 01:10:10 And I pointed at them. And I said, and it's right here. This. I did. And now that I've absolved myself, please exit the room. Because here's what it be. Hey, Brett Warner is coaching the team. He used to play for the same.
Starting point is 01:10:37 He's playing the NHL. He was going to be great. You know what? There's one way this doesn't work. You assholes. That's right. You people. It's not really what I was expecting from,
Starting point is 01:10:50 Jesus, from day one. You're almost done, though, right? It's only February. You're almost through it. There you go. You people. Sorry, right. Go ahead. Wow, big news.
Starting point is 01:11:06 I hate to have it waiting, but Cole Schwentz back up with the big club. Oh, thank Christ. Up and down. 36 hours there. Oh, back. But look at this. Scored last night against
Starting point is 01:11:18 toba. Tobah, toba, toba. Maybe if some of you other guys wanted to score, maybe you'd be getting to call in the big club. Well, Brett Sutter scored twice, but he's not on an NHL deal. Brett's more concerned with setting records for games played. He's done a great job down there.
Starting point is 01:11:35 He's done a hell of a job. Let's move to the NHL from the Calgary to the league. Detroit did look good for a bit last night, erasing deficits of 2-0 and 3-1, and then McDavid decided to play in the third period, and it looked a little like this. So McDavid now with five assists, seven. He wasn't done.
Starting point is 01:12:00 He'd had another helper. Six bleeping apples. Oh. What? Yeah, but how many goals, Ryan? He's held off the score sheet. We just can keep Connor out of the goal column. It's a W fellas.
Starting point is 01:12:15 Wrong. Five goal third period, 8, 4, 83. The sad part is that that's not a fluke pass. Like when I fall on my ass and it ends up on someone else's stick, clearly. That's his plan. I was going to say,
Starting point is 01:12:29 yeah, but he was falling down except for him. It's like, no, he was kind of spinning. Can you imagine how slow motion his brain works? I think I'm losing an edge. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:12:39 I definitely am. I'm losing my balance. Where's Kane? Oh, he's right there. Okay, I'm going to take the puck. I'm going to cradle it. This defender's here. It thinks he's going to do something, but he's not.
Starting point is 01:12:51 I'm just going to turn my wrists and I'm going to eventually. Okay, I'll move the puck now. Like, the friggin guy. Six assists. Nuts. Eh. Win at seven. Tired.
Starting point is 01:13:08 This guy. And you know what it is? It's like Fred Flintstone's car right next to an F1 vehicle. It's like, how are these even in, what are we doing here? Yeah. Who's in this guy's territory?
Starting point is 01:13:21 Some good news, boys. Ovi's been on a heater. Good news. The most goals ever is still alive, six and six for Ovi. He needs 59 goals in 194 games. That's the remainder of his contract. He's fully healthy.
Starting point is 01:13:36 That's about a 25 goal pace. I think he can do it, fellas. Everyone was down on him, but he's heating up and that team's bad. They're just going to be feeding him the rock all night. Let's go. I want him to at least flirt with it. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:13:50 You don't want him to now? But you did how long ago? I was okay with it prior to the start of the year. And I'm like, no, it's Wayne Gretzky. It's Wayne Gretzky. Yeah, but Wayne wasn't like a sniper sniper. Wayne had like that's just exactly. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:14:08 Like, Ovechkin has one skill. Yeah, so he can be the greatest goals. No, it's never going to be anywhere. It's like a Marlow thing. Yes, it's wonderful. Sasker, more games than Gordy, but when you say the name Patrick Marlowe, it is not the same as saying Gordy how. Agreed.
Starting point is 01:14:28 That's not, he beats Wayne and goals. No, it's going to be good. I'm allowed to have my opinion. I don't want him to do it. That's fair. He's right. I'm a dumb ass, and he is allowed to have his own opinion.
Starting point is 01:14:38 We'll move on. And it shall tonight, three games, Dean. They look like this. Pretty good one out in Pennsylvania. This is the Pantaros, visit the penguins. Transylvania. Jack attack, what do we expect from El Pinguino? Loss.
Starting point is 01:14:53 Oh, he's down on it. The one word responses from Jack just crushed. I'm telling you, half the time I think we need a camera on them. Then it's, we can't. No, no, it's just the, it's that voice in your head. How do the penguins make the playoffs? One thing needs to be done. Fire the coach.
Starting point is 01:15:13 See, he's just always right. It makes Matt Canada's coaching them. What do we think of? Mitch Trubisky leaving the Steelers. Love it. Okay. Fine, that. Elsewhere, sharks,
Starting point is 01:15:28 Winnipeg, and then the night game's a decent one. Minnesota, Arizona, both in the wildcard chase in the west. Rets gone. See you, buddy. Hey, bad news for the Calgary Stampeders, or is it? I don't know. We need to bring someone in the nose more than we do about CFL. But can he and carry off to the double blue?
Starting point is 01:15:42 the Argos, the boatman. Kadim Carrey was a very good stampeter for a number of years. Really good running back. Free agent. Apparently a lot. I can't tell you their names, but they've been adding a lot of bodies. That's free agent time, right? Yeah, some guys priced themselves out. Hey, Kadim, appreciate you.
Starting point is 01:16:02 Who's next? Preach. Now, let's go to the NFL where there's a stat that really tells you all you need to know about homes. Now this is a bit wordy, so don't get bogged down by the text, but I'll try to make short work of this. Since 2001, there's been 125 drives in the playoffs where it was the fourth quarter and there was an under a minute left to play and the team trailed by seven points or less. We understand what this is. This is a last minute drive with a chance to win the game. This is like how you measure who is great at quarterback. Out of those 125,
Starting point is 01:16:36 40% had the team come back win and get the points they needed. Brady, 46%. Breeze half the time. Mahomes, seven for seven. He's perfect. That is incredible. So he's had seven instances in the playoffs.
Starting point is 01:16:58 For the order or overtime, under a minute left and trailing by seven. Needing points to win, and he's done it. I guess that's okay. Yeah. And this is the guy that we will choose to bet against again. I won't.
Starting point is 01:17:17 There's been a lot of humming and hawing this week. A lot of people in the NFL. Now the CFL's had the overtime rules this way for a while now. But people in the end, so why is there even a clock? Why does the, you're going to play until there's a winner? Why does the clock matter just to switch the field for?
Starting point is 01:17:32 To do a time out for commercials? I guess I never thought about that. I guess if there's strong win, then maybe you're going to want some sort of a. Super Bowl is typically not. Yeah. Sorry, I'm getting inundated with these. Happy Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 01:17:47 Oh. Shoveler sending you selfies. Put the camera. I'm in the next room. When's the show over? Hey, Cupid. Do you mention the waste management got out of control this year, Dean? And maybe you're just a grumpy old man waving your fist at the cloud.
Starting point is 01:18:07 You've run. Or maybe you're on a side. Look at the old scorecard here. This is the number of calls for service from the police year-over. Arrests are way- arrests zero two years ago up to 54 this year. Checkions. More than double last year, 211.
Starting point is 01:18:26 And trespassing, 73 people this year, up from 14, two years ago. But those are just stats. But that's the bird's nest. That's not the course. That's 16. Oh, yeah. that's just the stadium hall. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:41 No, it's like, holy crap. Yeah, the other 17 holes are, they still have people there too. Now, what if there was a video, though, that somehow just let us understand the chaos. So here's Canadian Nick Taylor in a playoff with a put to win the tournament. I want to watch the man in the blue hoodie. Now the gravity in Arizona is a lot stronger. He's got a hand on the buddy. planet at the boiler there it's very windy and there's Taylor on the green look he's
Starting point is 01:19:19 lined up the pot this is what see the evening sun here on the playoff hole with you know what that's a good friend yeah he's helping him here look so here's Taylor now addressing this put to win the tournament come on Nikki for Canada can you do it Dude, it's finally just had enough. Okay, just lay down. And now watch the people who are trying to beat the traffic. It's like, okay.
Starting point is 01:19:59 This is over. Tournament's over. Corpse here. It's a man laying on the ground. Oh, yeah. That's interesting. Those are the scenes, friends. We'll see what happens next year.
Starting point is 01:20:12 Hopefully that's one of us. Might have to move it to Salt Lake. Let's get moving. I got some boomers hoopers here. A little high school ball for you. Dean, break it down for it. It's a, uh, uh, it's going to take. We're going to need to clean that up.
Starting point is 01:20:34 Everybody running away from it. Like it's, it's the slamma jammer right there. Oh. I've never fully understood that because I feel like you're in trouble if you do that. Are you not? Instead of being applauded and. That sounds unbelievable. You're going viral because that's $1,200.
Starting point is 01:20:54 I feel like there's insurance, but yeah. He's not getting a bill, is he? Is he getting an invoice for that? Should be. Get off the hoop, man. The thing with kids these days are so impressionable. You watch Morgan Riley come out of guy for slap shot into an empty net. What's going to happen in rec hockey now?
Starting point is 01:21:14 Let's have a look. Now, was it after the whistle, though? Did we hear the whistle? Yeah, there's your whistle. Oh, okay, it is after the whistle. Jesus. Come on. Gets get soft
Starting point is 01:21:46 Now I don't know if this is Sterling Or one of our pals at the brewery dean But I hope it's not There is a bit of spillage You don't like seeing that You get good booze, good people You want it to go to the right places, right? Does that look like Gorgian?
Starting point is 01:22:00 Oh Is that the brown? What is that, Dean? Like Valentine's Day In a while Oh That's right Fucked them over.
Starting point is 01:22:26 Finally, Rhett, stop pretending you don't have Valentine's Day plans because you and the shoveler, since you move back to the floor, Brian. You have an annual? It's the, you go to the old billiards club for Valentine's Day. So there are pool halls out there. See, there's the billiard room. Yes. Oh, geez. right in the eye
Starting point is 01:22:54 like there's a lot there oh wait a minute what's what kind of playing nine ball look that's not nine ball no it's not it's close why are you standing there what's your response time you're what's the word
Starting point is 01:23:10 he gets under it right away and oh boy this is trouble and hey Minnesota fats cool it you're out with your chick to play some pool what are you doing watch we suck this thing back Nope. Oh, I didn't have no, I should have chalked it up. Yeah, you should have chalked it up.
Starting point is 01:23:26 Chalk it up to stupidity. You'll be chalking up something else after that. It's a manual. There it is, Dean. Done? No, nice. Village Honda. New in-stock inventory on the ground, more arriving daily.
Starting point is 01:23:46 Start your automotive adventures at Village Honda. New vehicle pricing is MSRP. M-SERP. Missouri? M-ZERP. The crack of the Cuban. while hitting the skull. Yeah, that's true. Not nothing. It's not nothing. You're right. The chat has been, uh, has been alive today. There's a lot of, uh, yeah, a lot of comments here.
Starting point is 01:24:10 Brendan says, nice to see Boomer in a better mood this week. This is the same. Brennan that's the fuck up, Brendan. He's removed his last name because he got docks earlier in the week. I got him on LinkedIn before he changed his name. That's amazing. I was worried about him. You know what? Mind your own goddamn business, Brendan, all right? worry about me and my bad man i was worried about brendan good to see him back i apologize last well you're don't stick it shove it up your ass was having a bad day no i wasn't having a bad day just don't worry about me brennan was having a bad day yeah he was having a bad day i think that's what i said sorry boomer would worry about it's good boy you're welcome here brennan it's a safe space
Starting point is 01:24:53 is it is insult boomer and then it's all guns blazing we did a lot today hey we got this Markstrom to LA deal cooking. We got we had up to the second breaking news from the flames. So I feel or Marner? I can't remember where we sell. I'm not in. I'm not in on the Marner as much. I don't want to,
Starting point is 01:25:12 I don't want to make this deal where it's almost contingent that we need to then make another deal. I hear you for it to. Well, and he's got a full no move and he's the Toronto boy. There's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, it was more just the concept of like, okay, how would you make money work? Deeper goes. get busy deeper deeper deeper birthday yesterday happy birthday
Starting point is 01:25:32 oh I'm a nice plate of food there on Instagram last night did he really? Yes I'll see all these guys in here now don't worry but we're the best either of you know what Greg? Go fuck yourself um you did that on the old show or is that new here that's a new angle you added
Starting point is 01:25:55 well not often do I get a lot of compliments on the show so it's hard to be the bad guy oh boom you're great yeah shut the where did I put my thing now oh there it is sats don't you have other things to do he's got another day he's been paid to not work literally this weekend is family day and maybe you want to do stuff with your family I think that's kind of go to lethbridge I was having such a good day. Past tense. Tourism jasper.
Starting point is 01:26:40 That's better than left. You're thinking, well, we don't really have anything planned. What are we going to do? Tourism jasper, just get this into your cerebral vortex, cortex, in the frontal lobe. Medulla. You go up there. How far was that drive, Ryan?
Starting point is 01:26:58 Ah, three and change. Three and change. And for like, for those ass hats in Edmonton that have to drive out to Jasper, it's like a boring drive. You go from here, you're in the mountains, you're snaking through, it's beautiful. Picturesque. Go up to Jasper.
Starting point is 01:27:13 Maybe you're going to rent a cabin. Maybe you're going to go to the Fairmont, Jasper Park Lodge. There's all kinds of options up there. Maybe go for a nice, maybe take the family for a sleigh ride. Maybe you go skate on a glacier fed lake. Maybe you go for a day of dog sledding.
Starting point is 01:27:30 Love dogs. You love dogs, Red. Big fan. Marmot Basin Ski Resort. They've got the daycare for the kids. If maybe you've got young ones and you want to go out with the rest of the family. Ski snowboard lessons for kids of all ages. Go to jasper.com.
Starting point is 01:27:44 Travel and check it out. We have gone back to back years in January. It was awesome. It's just a different feel. If you want to have that mountain experience and it's not tons of people crazy, ah, that sort of thing. This is very much the lower key. Mountain town. Lots to do. Beautiful stuff.
Starting point is 01:28:07 So go and check it out. Jasper. Dot travel, even though it's almost the weekend. Like it's Wednesday. Get your ass together. Let's go. There's still time for you. Be spontaneous. Yeah. Spontaneous. That Icefield's parkway is something. Have you ever driven that one, Red? It is special. Frank must have been just like. Frank didn't know what was going on. Sarah Valley. What is going on here? What's that? It's a whole. Oh, my gosh. At one time. he says, I just, sorry, I just have to jump in. It says here, avalanche area.
Starting point is 01:28:39 Like, what does, what does that mean? Like, is there, like, we could get covered. Like, is, are we going to get? Come on, Frank. Settle down, Franklin. The main streets of Philly. Yeah. West Philadelphia born, raised.
Starting point is 01:28:56 So, like, at any given, is that what's going to happen? Yeah, actually, that could happen. So keep your eyes peeled, because we may have to shift it into four high here. and okay well i'm gonna sell right i'll keep my eyes peeled on the right you get the left yeah all right call oh jeez too much too much too coco you don't have to show that jack who put that up jack jack i gotta be honest i'm jack's choices this week did you really not get anything for valentine's day yet me no i'm i'm i'm behind very behind dean what's you're still in the show off stage.
Starting point is 01:29:41 Should be. Yeah. Great job. Got some good work to do to show off then. We got to hustle hard after the show today. Ryan's taking me down to the flower store. First, what first name?
Starting point is 01:29:52 First name. Handshake. Flowers. What's that called? The Safeway. Yeah, that's right. He's going to get you. Let's run a block away.
Starting point is 01:30:04 Let's do our Betway bet. A little bit way. What, only three games tonight. three matchups in the NHL. You know what we forgot to do yesterday. Football picks. Yesterday. Well, yesterday was Tuesday.
Starting point is 01:30:20 So then Monday. You mean from the Super Bowl? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know if we ever did it. It was my first three for three in many months, many, many, many months. What were your three? KC Money Line, KC plus two under. And the under nearly didn't hit with overtime, but it was by a half point.
Starting point is 01:30:38 It was long overdue. I just did some props. I don't think, I think the only one that hit was both teams will lead in the second half. Yeah. Okay. Went big for the MVP, not a quarterback that obviously did not pan out. No running back went for over 200 yards. That was a plus 3,000.
Starting point is 01:30:58 But I did have the Chiefs plus two. Good. Retro, you were on the Niners. Sorry. Now, did they count that Jennings pass across the McAfee? for he is a passing touchdown or was that considered a rush? Because I did say that non-passing, it was passing?
Starting point is 01:31:17 Passing, yeah. 33 to 1. That's a non-quarterback passing for a touchdown. That was a monster. Yeah. What are the Betway bets today? Well, I went to the league of Hockey National. Minnesota, Arizona, Minnesota,
Starting point is 01:31:36 quietly getting it together. We even wait, what about the wild? You're going to get it together? You're going to get together? Marco Rossi, Matt Boldy, these guys are starting to Correll the thrill. Boldy, four points in the last two games,
Starting point is 01:31:49 goals in each, anytime goal plus 162. Kiral Caprizov, two plus points. He's got four points in his last two games. Keep it going. Plus 155. The Wilder coming to life. Yeah. And they're in Arizona at that little,
Starting point is 01:32:04 little tiny barn. Les Moulet. Arina de Les Moulet. So that's where I'm going to. for it tonight with the wild. Very good, very good. I got one in that game as well. We've got Capri Sov scoring the first goal plus seven,
Starting point is 01:32:19 Han. Oh, let's go, Correll, let's go. Big number, big number. And how about this? St. Louis is sitting in the second wildcard. They have the best points percentage of any of the teams vying for that last wildcard. And they're plus 185 to make the playoffs. Yeah, it feels like a mistake. That way, I'm sorry. I have to take that.
Starting point is 01:32:41 Yeah, because we try. I just wanted that doubt out yesterday about St. Louis and how they've been, and I don't know what if... I got beat 4-1 last night by Toronto, but I don't, I don't like it because we like Craig Barubi. Just kind of wanted that to be a huge mistake. Craig's going to be fine. He's going to land on his feet. They'll bring him in for Ottawa next year, unless they're idiots and then I'll have to go somewhere else. But Craig's going to get work. Why if they not hired him? What are they doing? Look at that. Like, who's catching St. Louis that is really good. Like, there's a lot of games left. There is, but it's like, I don't know that anyone below them is better.
Starting point is 01:33:14 Like maybe if Minnesota gets on a heater, but plus one, that's 185. That's a big number. Look at those kings. I know. It's a very pedestrian. Like the flames have more winds. Oof. Now, Gives, play darn even, but still.
Starting point is 01:33:30 Game's playing. I mean, come on now. Come on. Blakey. Come on, Blakey. Do we have to do this for Conroy? Do you got to? should have his number, right?
Starting point is 01:33:41 Because this has to be one of those things where, well, we're entertaining offers. You might need to pick up the phone and call Rob Blake. Hey, man, how's L.A.? You like sun, shine? How's the surf season? And just see if it comes up, right? Probably a lot of rain in L.A. that hurts the surf because all the sandbars move around.
Starting point is 01:33:58 Not a good, not a good surf winner. So icebreaker. Start that with Blakey. Betway bets. Get the Betway app on your phone. Bet the responsible way. There are buddies. That's the way we roll is with Betway.
Starting point is 01:34:07 Bet the responsible way with Betway. I saw this talking about California. I saw that there was this video in a shot landscape of these like two, three million dollar homes on the water, but the banks are eroding away. Cliffs. What do you do? Sell.
Starting point is 01:34:31 $3.25 million luxury mansion. And the front of it's just being held up by like pops of. stick. It's just AI. Is it? Three million doesn't get you ocean front in LA. I'll tell you that. How's your house in Calgary, Rhett? Is it, is it drifting into the lake? Yeah, it's slowly eroding.
Starting point is 01:34:52 And the erosion issues there? I had somebody else. So, did Rhett sell his house? No. No. Oh, he's renting it then. Is he renting it? No. No. So why the only person in the world that has two homes or two places? What's he did? What's he do? doing. Yeah, I don't know. You might be the only person in the world that has a mansion on a lake in Calgary and is renting
Starting point is 01:35:16 a house with a chain link fence in Buffalo. With a barbed wire trampoline in the backyard. He's got a blackstone grill. Yeah, he does. Come on. How does he feel about his kid's head coach? Is he one of the parents that's having a hard time? No, complaints.
Starting point is 01:35:36 Is that right? Come on. Is the kid tough? Oh, yeah. If Robert, Mr. Ray would get out of the youngster's head. The youngster would do a lot better. So I'm trying to imagine in Minnesota, Rob Ray's in the stands, just absolutely yelling like you just did there.
Starting point is 01:36:02 And the dad on the other team's like, holy fuck, is that Rob Ray? Oh, my God, honey. Don't go say anything to him. No, no. In Pittsburgh last year. somebody in the penalty box made some remarks to Mr. Ray and was quickly informed that perhaps should reconsider. His feedback is not welcome to this point, sir. And he's, he is one of those guys.
Starting point is 01:36:34 That it's like if that, not even if the switch turns, but if the dial moves just slightly and you see that look at his face like, I'm not all together. impressed with you right now. It's like, I just shit myself. I don't feel comfortable anymore. And he's not six, four. It's not one of those things, but there's still kind of just that, that looks, okay, yeah, I'm done. I'm freaking done.
Starting point is 01:36:59 That's good. No, all done. But he, he's, he's normal, right? He's not one of those. Right? It seems very normal. Yeah. Quite down to earth.
Starting point is 01:37:10 But it would be nice to be able to have that card just to pull out of your pocket. It's like, yeah, but I might. Here's my fight. Here's my fight card. It's not the tough guys. It's the crazy guys. That's what really, that's the wild card on a team,
Starting point is 01:37:22 right? Yeah, just here's my hockey DB. If you wanted to take a look. Now you were saying nothing, nothing. Great work on the team. Got to go.
Starting point is 01:37:32 Yeah, nothing. DoorDash on the menu. Restaurants, groceries, pharmacies, bakeries, flour shops,
Starting point is 01:37:41 Jack, and more. DoorDash has everything you need. Ordering is easy. Just open the DoorDash app. Choose what you want from where you want when you want it, and the items will be left nicely outside your door. It's that easy.
Starting point is 01:37:57 And for a limited time with promo code nation 25, Nation 25, you'll get 25% off and zero delivery fees on your first order of $15 or more when you download the DoorDash app and put that promo code in. So with that said, it's almost about more today, where are you going for your job? DoorDash, then what's on the menu? But, you know, so be it. What's on the menu for DoorDash today? We are heading to Pittsburgh, Jack's hometown. It's going to pick up some flowers native to the area.
Starting point is 01:38:26 Also catch the penguins and Panthers. Pittsburgh plus 110 at Betway there. And then the nightcap, down to the desert. Dino, one of your favorite places to go. It's the wild and the yotes. You got a little money on that one. Let's go. Carill, the thrill. It's a double header for DoorDash. Double Dash. Why not double dash? Why not? Double dash, you can order from multiple restaurants or stores on the same delivery without additional delivery fees. So you can get what you want. And they get you there, right? Oh, did you want something else?
Starting point is 01:38:57 Because the driver can make a couple stops here with no additional. Maybe you want some dessert. Maybe you want, did you want some ice cream? Do you want some candy? You have flowers. Now, do you need any handcuffs? Because like it's right on the same street. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:08 Do you need any, uh, uh, sponsor read? DoorDash, dash that for the. win with DoorDash. Were there any 24-7 breakfast joints? It would be, but they're few and far between. Do you remember the old Husky House? That used to be right by the old studio.
Starting point is 01:39:30 That was a move back in the day. I was just up there the other day. I feel like, did you have some flapper pie? No, that's at the other place. That was actually, that was our out-of-town tournament red. That was the hotel we stayed at for our out-of-town tournament. No. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:48 You, uh, he's making minor hockey sound very organized with the shit he's been telling us about ringette. My God. We got any, just, no one cares, but, um, that's good. We got an email this morning just after 7 a.m. Now, what's, what's today? Today is Wednesday. Wednesday. It's Wednesday.
Starting point is 01:40:08 Right. Valentine's Day, Wednesday. Yeah. And this weekend is family day. Sure is. Monday's day off. Okay. So we, yeah, we got an email that today, uh, this morning. at 715 that for our kids ringette team provincial playdowns are on Sunday.
Starting point is 01:40:25 Oh, well. This week. Yeah. Yeah. I'd had plans. We had plans. Not great. In Lethbridge.
Starting point is 01:40:38 Hmm. Against other Calgary teams as part of the bigger tournament. Only what the age. So Lethbridge. West Calgary teams. Sunday family day. But not versus Lethbridge. Calgary versus Calgary versus Calgary in
Starting point is 01:41:05 Lathbridge. Sunday. Good ice. Can you give you one of these again? That's a good one. You didn't know that it was coming up? And two on the same day. Yeah. Oh my God. Back to back. Back to back.
Starting point is 01:41:26 Jack. 10 a.m. and to be determined. TBD. Hey, you know what? Lethbridge. It's where you want to spend Family Day. So you know what?
Starting point is 01:41:41 We're going to do this thing right. Let's get some hotel rooms. Let's get a bus. Get some Barnburner blondes on that. Yeah. Let's get after it. Coalys are breathtaking in February. Don't be a knocking left.
Starting point is 01:41:54 Joint with the double slides. The double, double, uh, double ender. Double dashs on it. Five minutes in. Yeah. which one's better the right side of the left side what's faster that you gotta go back and forth
Starting point is 01:42:09 technique one's a two bright isn't it one isn't yeah i think so yeah there was one uh water slide at the the mall in edmonton i forget which one it was moon always knew moon loves the last last faster one yeah yeah one was because it was the inside so you go tighter tight and you know what if you sit up yeah While you're doing a water slide, get off the slide. You're wasting everyone's time. You're dead to me. You're wasting everyone's time. You've got to lay back and arch your back and get the points of your shoulder blades and dig your heels in.
Starting point is 01:42:46 Like your heels. Let's go. Come on now. Instead of the people. Beed-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-do-do-do-do. It's like taking a toboggan to the tobogging hills. Get out. Get out.
Starting point is 01:43:01 I don't. Splush. Do you see an old dog? Yes. Oh, no. What's it going to be? If it's Rob Ray out of my chair. Oh, I was a good boy.
Starting point is 01:43:31 What kind of dog is that? He looks like a good boy. Isn't that weird? There's no fences out there. Fences make good neighbors. That's a good dog. Hmm. I got disconnected.
Starting point is 01:43:50 This show is terrible. Hello. Bye, Red. Oh, I got this. No, you're there. We saw the dog,
Starting point is 01:44:03 yes. Yeah. That dog is on death's door. It's outside all the time. It doesn't go. Like, it just wanders around that yard. Minus a thousand.
Starting point is 01:44:13 That dog's outside. Go save the dog. Go save them. I don't know if you can see. save it. The only saving grace might be to knock. What's going to doggy heaven? What are you asking about all day
Starting point is 01:44:27 breakfast for? What do you? I feel like breakfast. I want all day breakfast. I saw the double bacon, the two for one bacon at the store today and now I can't stop thinking about bacon. There's got to be lots in Buffalo. That feels like a 24 hour diner city. It's the shiths for breakfast. Absolute, terrible for breakfast. You need a reds down there. That's what you need.
Starting point is 01:44:43 You're 100%. If I put a real diner up, I'd be killing it. I'll talk to do this. Idea guy. Wouldn't have to do this. Think all the free time you'd have. If you didn't have to do this. So tomorrow on the show,
Starting point is 01:44:58 Rhett won't be on. I'll be on for a bit. Ret will be on for a bit. United Airlines dependent. O'Hare. What was the update? You got an email. Yeah, what's email?
Starting point is 01:45:09 D dependent. Yeah, ORD is no good. O'Hare code for people that don't. O'Hare code for people that don't. O'Hare code for people that don't. O'H. What was the email? email. You check in? What's up?
Starting point is 01:45:21 I don't know. It said you're not able to check in because something with your flight has been disrupted, but I've already checked in and please call is what it said. I'm sure it's my call. You never want you to call. They're too busy with calls. You're always like, go to the website. Don't call us. Gross.
Starting point is 01:45:41 Sure, it'll work. Do you answer your phone? Not very often. I have a dead zone. Right. Around the house and in this general area. wrapped around your house, you conspiracy theorist. Yeah, it is. It's odd.
Starting point is 01:45:56 Trying to steal his thoughts. I got a dead spot here. So I can't, if I want to make a phone call, I got to leave the house. So I don't. I feel bad because I just look at my phone when it rings. There's zero percent chance I answer it. There was a time. What is how many?
Starting point is 01:46:13 Like out of 10? Half? Well, I don't answer yours. No. Um, I don't answer Pinder. I definitely don't answer the woman I live with. Sometimes the kid. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:46:26 One of the kids calls like, what the, what? And the problem with that is, that's all, it just confirms why you don't answer a phone because they're not calling to share joyous news, are they?
Starting point is 01:46:40 There's an issue. Rewind that a little bit. So like, Hey, dad. And you answer the phone, how? What? I just missed my bus. Is there a,
Starting point is 01:46:52 anyway that was yesterday. He was yesterday. Before the show. My kid, the one kid, is just storming around the house. And you know, it's funny, he's kind of, you're at that point as a parent. You've got three kids and ones. I mean, it's just, at what age are you done parenting kids? You've done all, it's, is it like 14, 13, 15, somewhere in there. They are who they're going to be.
Starting point is 01:47:19 Just because they're in the house doesn't mean that you're parenting. You're not parenting. You're just kind of keeping them alive, but they can kind of keep themselves alive now. They are who they are. I'm up here and I hear, what the fuck is going on? What the fuck is it?
Starting point is 01:47:34 Damn it. God just potty mouth from his dad. Wonder where he gets it. I'm just so fucking miss my fucking bus. Fuck. Something wrong? What the fuck? I'm going to find my fucking bus pass.
Starting point is 01:47:50 I'm going to miss my fucking bus. And you're late for school again. For fucking. So it's fucking stupid. I don't know where I put my shit. Can't find your bus pass. No, I can't find my fucking bus pass.
Starting point is 01:48:03 It's the goddamn bus pass. What the fucking thing? So we have a saying here around the house. It's like, everything is figure outable. Figure out. Well, so you try and because he's volcanic.
Starting point is 01:48:19 I don't know where he gets from, but he's, really. Well, dude. I mean, I know you're upset. I get mad too when I lose stuff. And you're just like,
Starting point is 01:48:28 wallet phone keys. I always put it in the same. So I put in the same fucking place every day. Like who moves shit? It's a bus pass. We'll figure it out. We'll find it. And if we don't, then we'll just get another.
Starting point is 01:48:45 It's halfway for the month. It's an $80 bus pass. You've got to spend another $80 for like two weeks? Hey, buddy. Here's three bucks. Dude, it's, we'll figure. I mean, there's, okay, we'll get it figured out. I'll drive you to the bus.
Starting point is 01:49:03 What then? How am I getting home? I'll come. Just, I'll come and get you. We'll just like, you take, you got your phone.
Starting point is 01:49:16 Text me when you're done. We'll get, we'll come get you. Get in the truck. Let's go. Drop them off. Then I get the, I get a text from my wife. So,
Starting point is 01:49:31 uh, I hear someone lost his bus pass. Yeah. Yeah. He lost his bus pass. We're very upset. We're very upset about it. So don't push it.
Starting point is 01:49:41 Don't just don't. So it's like you have a roommate, right? You're just, okay, it does. It's okay. So I'm doing stuff in the afternoon. Kid comes home. My wife says,
Starting point is 01:49:52 we found the bus pass. Oh, well, that's good. That's a kid. Everyone loves a happy ending, dude. That's good. Where was it? And this is exactly what happened to me. This is,
Starting point is 01:50:04 exactly what happened to me. And I'll explain it. It was in the front pocket of his hoodie. Never put things in it. He's going through his backpack, firing. I don't know where the fuck anything is. Can't find shit. People putting shit everywhere.
Starting point is 01:50:21 Oh, it's in my hoodie. My kid. Yeah. Yeah, so that's how that went. Well, I did the same thing. What was I looking for? I think it was my wallet. and it's the same thing.
Starting point is 01:50:41 I have three things in my life. Keys, phone, wallet. I put it in the same place every day. So again, I don't know where the kid gets it. I'm wound tight. So stupid. Got in the vehicle, drove to Marta Loop, looked around the studio, got back in the, I'm looking under the seats.
Starting point is 01:51:01 I'm like, where the, who moved? Did anybody move this thing? Why am I so stupid? Such a god. I have three things. that I need in the world. Three! I don't want anything else.
Starting point is 01:51:16 Don't buy me gifts. Don't give me shit. I don't want it. I just want my phone, my keys, and my wallet. Drove to Marta Loop. I shit you not.
Starting point is 01:51:26 I'm on McLeod by Shaughnessy, and I'm just like, suicide's okay. Oh, if I just pull over right now. Because you know what, I'm tired of dealing with this stuff. I've had it.
Starting point is 01:51:39 I've had it. Why can't I have nice things? Why am I always dealing with this stuff? And I don't, I just move my one hand and then I feel it in the front of my bunny hug. Now you hate yourself more. And I didn't even fish in to see if it was. You knew instantly.
Starting point is 01:51:59 Immediately. Well, there it is there. Yeah, it's in my sweater. I'll take it right here and look around. Okay. So, um, I'll probably have to tell them when I get home. that I've got it.
Starting point is 01:52:12 So that's good news. At the end of the day, this is a good ending. It's happy. It's perfect. You found it. I did put on quite a performance in the 35 minutes leading up to me leaving the house, though. And I did almost swerve into oncoming traffic to end it all because I couldn't find my wallet. Okay.
Starting point is 01:52:35 Well, maybe I'll stop and get some like chips and dip and we'll have like a movie night when I get home. Dad trying to kind of salvage the rest of this evening. because it's, uh, in the mood, little. Yeah, the mood was really kind of down there
Starting point is 01:52:48 when I left the house. It was, uh, I had everybody, like going around the house looking for it. There was a lot of yelling from one person.
Starting point is 01:52:55 Everyone else was really just kind of listening. Eyes down. Did you find it? No, I didn't find it. So yeah, that was yesterday. Bus pass.
Starting point is 01:53:05 Found it. Hoodie. Oh, so check your hoodie. Check your hoodie. Check your hoodie pocket, folks. Right there.
Starting point is 01:53:14 Before you end it all. check your hoodie. Dean, don't end it all place. It's just a wallet. So, uh, Valentine's Day. Have a good one. Do we do everything? Oh, hey, let's go bowling.
Starting point is 01:53:34 Guys want to go bowling? I do I ever. Why don't we start rolling out some names here? We got some big stars. We're a fun crew. We're a fun bunch of guys to be here. I finally got my flight booked. I'm set. That's a boy.
Starting point is 01:53:46 Oh, my battery's going to die. We better be quick. Don't do that to him, Red. Just pretend. What do you mean your battery's going to die? Well, unplugged it to show you the room and just plug it back in, Einstein. Jesus Christ, I'm going to fall over the desk. It's shit everywhere.
Starting point is 01:54:04 What do you want me to do? Your laundry will go. Move your drying rack. What a room. You got to wash it again. Yeah. Fab 29, we are going to Splitsville. Oh, look at this.
Starting point is 01:54:17 Nationview. That's a. Yes, sir. Yep. Bunk. 2916 5th Avenue is where you will find the bowling alley. Formerly Let's bowl. We've done it before. We're doing it again. Sign up your team, the website to do so. And you see it right there. Nationgear.com. Food provided by Oudle Noodle. The boys at Orange, boys and girls, everybody at Origin brewing. They're excited to bring the Barnburn blonde, some traditional. They're bringing it all, right? They're bringing it all, the homegrown lager, the Rockyford, Ed, we're going to have it all there for you. Thursday, February 29th. And Jamie McClennan going to be bowling with us.
Starting point is 01:55:00 It was going to bring it up today. We're talking a lot about Kippy, talking a lot about Kippy, but also part of when he was talking about how tight the schedule is and red eyes and running around, we're also making a bowl. So there is that as well. But there you see it. They got some warm up for you, a little tournament, a couple games, surprising, post-event refusements.
Starting point is 01:55:20 and retro's going to be there. Hall of Famers already RSVPed. The star of the Christmas shows are SVPed. It's going to be a dinner. How about it? And more. I got a, uh, a, uh, it was one of the calls that I didn't pick up yesterday. Oh, but I got a confirmation.
Starting point is 01:55:36 Another big name coming to the, uh, maybe try it out tomorrow. I'd like to actually get him, I give him out away now. Uh, I have him come on the show and, uh, shoot the old, uh, poop and talk about, uh, the bowling and other things. Tommy Winkle, shooting the old dukes. Shoot in the old take a ride on the old hill tour. And have them on the show. So I'm working away at that.
Starting point is 01:55:55 I guess I should return a phone call, see how that goes. If you ask someone for something and they're calling you back to P's you. That's a good one to pick up. Well, it wasn't him. It was through kind of a circuitous thing. But we'll get that on. But we're looking forward to it. It's for the kids.
Starting point is 01:56:13 McLeod Law. Events partner. Going to be there. Taking care of us. Taking care of you. great Calgary business, great people. They're going to, I don't know if they can bowl. We'll find out, I guess.
Starting point is 01:56:23 But get your team signed up, Nationgear.ca. There's time, but why wait? Are all the teams filled? Yeah, it filled up because it's a bowling lane. There's only so many lanes. Yeah. And if our short time in Toronto taught us anything, if you are around noodles, you are in the action.
Starting point is 01:56:41 You will not be disappointed. It'll only be the best stories you've ever heard and all the coolest people you'll ever meet. That's the end of it. Yeah. Do it. Nationgear.ca. Nationgear.ca. You had blue rodeo there one year.
Starting point is 01:57:00 I like blue rodeo. Now, is it Darren McCarty that you're bringing back? Boom. Is that the confirmation? No, no, no, no, no. Polua? No, I'm going to, I would suggest this is a person who's not been at one of the previous bowling events, but he's in our sphere.
Starting point is 01:57:15 He's in our thing. It's very loose. It is, it's loose for a reason. I don't want to give it away because it's a big one. All right, all right. Because it's a big one. And I will say this. You guys will be.
Starting point is 01:57:27 excited. I haven't even told you guys about it. Yup. And I do it on tomorrow's show, but Rett's not going to be on. And then I do it on Friday, but Ryan's not going to be on. So I don't know when I're going to do it. And Monday's a holiday. Monday's a holiday. And who the hell knows what's on Tuesday? Friday in Lethbridge. Yeah. Good luck. Go to that menswear store, the, uh, the, uh, the topette. Say hello for me. Right. Yeah. I was looking for some fine menswear. Oh. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:58:04 clothes where this is not what I thought I was going to get it go save that dog Rhett go give that dog a treat before it does that dog would come in there he'd sit by your feet
Starting point is 01:58:19 he'd look up at you with those ratchety old no way shit his pants everywhere you did come on now get out of here because tomorrow is Thursday which means we're supposed to do ask Red for Bon Ton meets
Starting point is 01:58:34 100% great color great guy from O'Hare in theory yeah uh what is it nuts on something that uh you know the little nuts stanz at o'Hlark nuts on Clark nuts on Clark oh garrette's popcorn popcorn is delicious that cheddar cheese popcorn Chicago mix oh but it gets everywhere is it Garrett's is that the name that's a place right nuts on Clark that's the one at the airport how do we feel but they also have a very good Mexican restaurant a great torta, which is a sandwich. And it's wonderful. At O'Hare?
Starting point is 01:59:10 Mm-hmm. Because I got that sushi one on your way to that terminal on the sign. Yeah, that's not a bad stuff. It's a nice thing about O'Hare is when you're stranded there for days, there's good places to eat. Oh, yeah. We won't stir. Yeah, well, you're missing your luggage for three days and paying for an airport hotel that
Starting point is 01:59:26 you didn't budget. You can find some decent food. It'd be nice that they just had like shower stalls where you could clean out your rack, your swass after you were sprinting to try and catch your next plane, which you would never do. God, I'm all hot. Jeez. So we're not even joking. We go down to Nashville for the draft. We connect through Chicago. And who's on our second leg?
Starting point is 01:59:44 The Flames coaching staff who have missed their first leg flag because it's bleeping O'Hare. Oh, hey, guys. That's summer. That's without even bad weather. Oh, hey, it's June. Hey, how am I doing? Oh, you guys just get in? No, we've been here. We've been here for like 14 hours. Oh, that's, that doesn't sound very good. No, it's not. We landed in O'Hare to the news of the Jersey Calgary swap the Tofoli going over.
Starting point is 02:00:09 That's right. Yeah. What do we know? What do we know? Igor. Who's this guy? But, uh, Sikenthaler? No, no, no. Sharon Govich. Wrong guy. Wrong guy.
Starting point is 02:00:22 Okay, then. I was talking with somebody yesterday. We, uh, we should go to the draft, right? Yeah, so the sphere, it's the last real draft before they start doing it remotely. We got to go. It feels like the flames might be. a team to watch at the draft.
Starting point is 02:00:38 They may have two firsts already and they haven't moved Hanifantan or Markstrom, Dean. I'm going to suggest they're going to have some serious ammunition on the draft floor. Do people know that that the, this is, this is it for the draft? I don't know how much this story. Jack, do you know this is the last real draft? What do you mean the last real draft? Yeah, I don't think people know.
Starting point is 02:00:56 In person where everybody comes to a different to a city and they have a draft floor and everybody's there. They're not doing that ever again after this year. Well, it was such a good show during COVID when everyone was at home show. Yeah, the crotch cams. That was awesome. Why wouldn't we want to recreate that? Well, and it might be more like the NFL one, Jacko,
Starting point is 02:01:15 where you have the commissioner and the players in one spot, but all the GMs are going to be in their war rooms in their respective cities. Not as fun, though. Svere. Name. And do we know why? I've heard a number, it's obviously, it's a big financial thing for the teams. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:32 And I don't think the revenue is there from a TV perspective to make it worthwhile. And if you were, Connie, wouldn't you, you have a war room at your rank. You don't want to have to pack everything up and who's tapping my phone lines in hotel room 908. And to be honest, the technology is allowed it, right? You saw that in COVID. You can Zoom call all this. I mean, look at us. Look at us.
Starting point is 02:01:53 Highly successful, despite not being in the same room. Not a beat. I hope that teams have better success at their draft than we do at this show. I hope there's no construction. We just drafted a dead guy. well maybe if we were in the same room together we could have avoided this. He died last week.
Starting point is 02:02:13 I thought that was his brother. Shit. What about construction? The construction's going on. You're about to make a big deal. Yeah. What happened? Well, maybe they can't go to saddle on them.
Starting point is 02:02:24 There's going to be lots of construction there's now. You think construction's bad here? Try to get to the dome. I think they should. In person. All right, JP. Are we going to get into it here? I just looked it up.
Starting point is 02:02:33 Phoenix Copley had a 903 last. No, it was Talbot. He meant Talbot. Talbot had the hot start this year, not Copley. Coppa had a real hot run last year. It's been Talbot this year. It's been great. Wrong name.
Starting point is 02:02:43 All good. I don't know. I'm done. What are you doing today? Well, I've got to go apparently go get something. Like that, I'm serious because we're on the same boat here. I haven't, I, I mean, we're calling Jack an idiot. And I mean, he is.
Starting point is 02:02:59 Jack, we didn't call you. Yeah, we got to go out and we didn't call you an idiot. Yeah, he did. Oh, okay. I am an idiot, so. But we're all idiots. That's why it works. It's the show.
Starting point is 02:03:15 How are things with you, Ryan? Because I know there was that whole playing hip-hop at 3 a.m. thing from Toronto from your phone. Well, see, that's the thing is, can you go flowers twice and two? Are you over that or? Is it too much flowers? I don't know. Yeah, there's too much vegetation.
Starting point is 02:03:32 It's just, you know, I don't want to. It's too much oxygen all of a sudden. Getting lightheaded. 10 kilograms of carnations in the same room. Does that work? I don't know. I very quickly, the woman that I live where she said this morning she was leaving.
Starting point is 02:03:47 Hey, I have to work till six, so I'm not going to be home late. And I very quick, I just kind of, there's a way to respond to that. Probably the way to respond to that would it should have been, oh,
Starting point is 02:04:00 not home till late? Damn. That maybe would have been better than the, who's squeezing a movie? All right. Very I was that lit. Pretty okay with it. Hmm.
Starting point is 02:04:13 Okay. Well, yeah, we'll see you tonight at some point then. Sounds good. Check you later. Got your bus pass? All right. So flowers for sure then. Shit.
Starting point is 02:04:24 Flowers and double dash. All right. Get a card. Card. Do not forget the card. From the heart. Right, right?
Starting point is 02:04:32 It is an integral piece. From the heart. And can you just put like in there? Happy. V-day, babe. You can't put a dollar bill in there. No, put in a fin. Jeez.
Starting point is 02:04:47 Well, if you do do it, please have somebody videoing. Yeah. Well, it's having in the Pinda Report. If you do that, please send that our way. Perfect. All right, man. Happy Valentine's Day. Love stinks.
Starting point is 02:04:59 See you tomorrow.
