Hello and welcome, everybody, to a joyous, a celebratory edition of Barn Burner.
I've got some red, I've got some white and some ble as I salute.
Jack and Rhett are two Americans who are part of the program today, as always.
Happy Colonial Day.
America Day.
America.
America.
It's too bad we don't have to have to Jack.
Cam up and running because he has got the stars and stripe orat man cany.
I've never seen him so excited.
He's already crushed about six barn burner blondes.
He's fired up for America Day.
And if anyone's heading to whitefish tonight, he's happy to catch a ride.
He just can't drive himself.
Get him there.
Let the party roll.
He could be there by sundown.
Blasted at the bulldog.
Yeah, buddy.
How you doing, Jack?
Happy, happy America Day.
Happy America Day.
I'm doing very good today.
Did you watch Independence Day last night?
that's what I did.
No,
I didn't.
Is that how you get in the mood?
Oh,
for sure,
watch the Americans
whooped the shit out of those aliens?
Yeah.
Oh.
God damn,
yeah.
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
Chance against America.
Was that some drill crew
they sent out to that asteroid
or is I don't think of that?
No,
no, that's a different one.
That was an alien.
That's Liv,
Tyler.
Bruce.
Bruce.
How I could say,
this is the virus.
Still get teary-eyed.
Fucking Bruce.
Hero, right?
Play the hero song for him.
Oh, God damn.
Thank you, bastard.
Nicky.
There's a hero in Independence Day.
Wasn't that guy, the crazy old cook,
the gut, what the hell's his name?
Lieutenant Dan in the wheelchair.
That's a different one, but close.
I drove the airplane right into the alien spaceship.
Is that con air?
But they landed on it.
Marty.
Yeah, Marty McSorley.
Yeah.
Nice.
Then they got back in the dame.
DeLorean.
Yeah, yeah.
Fixed it and then came back.
I went back.
Yeah.
It's a good movie.
So good.
That's my favorite.
It's my favorite movie ever.
Yeah.
So July the 4th,
made the 4th be with you.
July the 4th be with you.
Did we meet a rabbit rabbit,
by the way?
I wasn't here Tuesday.
I'm sure you did.
I don't want to.
Well, we kind of.
Did you rabbit rabbit?
No, we kind of referenced it.
So I just got you there.
Well, no, we talked about rabbit rabbit,
but it was the second.
It's like, did we really not say anything?
It was the first time you see someone that month,
so we hadn't seen each other, but you're right.
I've never understood what the hell it is, even.
So I thought it had the first words out of your mouth.
It's a dumb game. I love it.
Yeah.
You can Google it for sure.
Yeah.
Ever play that shotgun game?
The drinking game?
No, no, that's a good game too.
But when you're not in the driver's seat, the other one,
we're like, you got to see the car.
Cars and shotgun!
You're like young teens was prime for that.
Okay.
And how does that relate to...
Stupid games?
Oh, I see.
Yeah.
Well, when you talk about stupid
and you talk about July 4th for Jack,
we put together a little montage.
It's a quick one, but it's a couple of our favorites from over the years.
Stupid.
For sure.
Stupid.
Oh, this is good.
He's in Buffalo, dude.
Bagu, bag up.
Bagel, tear?
Would he revert, tear?
I never liked that old minivan in the driveway anyway, rats.
You did fine without it.
I want an insurance claim that one.
And actually all my wives' jewels were in the truck as well.
It would be damned if we weren't moving that day.
What's not saying?
That escalated quickly.
It was, oh, we just got the kids, we've got everybody together around.
Now, the daytime fireworks is another move, right?
It's usually for when there's some sort of darkness, you could really appreciate the
fireworks, but can't wait that long.
Oh, man, that's good stuff.
24 hours of the day.
What you doing, tear?
What you do, tear?
Oh, Lord, Ter.
Lord, Terry.
Lord Terry.
So happy 4th of July to all the people who are
somebody by the time you watch or listen to this
and won't be the fourth anymore.
Oh, geez. How could you do that to us?
For those that might be watching here with us,
a happy, happy hoop to do.
Plans today, Jack, because
we're going to wrap this thing up.
We're just going to have some shits and giggles here,
and then we'll let you get in your way.
What do you got going today?
Well, I really am debating just driving straight to whitefish after this.
Uh-huh.
I got stampede plans, but.
Stampede is 10 days.
Fourth of July, by my math,
only once or twice a year.
What are you debating?
Stampede.
It's not really a debate.
It's getting the fucking.
Get in the car and go.
Sorry, I got excited there.
No, you could be in Whitefish.
Yeah.
You know what?
You need someone like me to just to point you in the right.
direction and I need someone up to do that for me so I don't sit oh maybe this or maybe that you two
need to go to whitefish together yeah let's go roadie let's do it now you're all right america i'm
supposed to go to ryan's um stampede work party Ryan already so i didn't get anybody no stampede
work part so pender's already bailed but you feel compelled to guess yeah hell's going on here
i'll be in seeing are you going to drinking beer it's a T-mobile stadium that's what i'll be doing
That's nice.
I like that.
Pinder has no guilt whatsoever.
God,
missing his own wife's party
and Jack's kind of compelled,
well,
you know,
Ryan asked me,
I kind of said I would go.
I'm not sure.
Get to Whitefish, Jack.
Yeah, let's get out there.
Get out there, man.
Honestly, there's no debate here.
Get down there.
Your best stampede weekend
can still happen
from Monday to next Sunday.
Yes, it's almost better.
This 4th of July weekend in Whitefish?
Oh, my God.
This is how you start a bender right here.
I had 41.
One core's light.
That's right.
You cross the border, get a thousand at like a nickel each.
Yeah, don't fly on this side.
Fill the bathtub with ice.
Put them all in there.
Crack about a thousand.
Play that shotgun game.
And then head down to Main Street.
Get one of those mini pool things, the blow-up pools.
Fill it with ice and a little bit of water and throw all your beer right in there.
Just sitting there with it.
It's the beer jack soup.
It'd be awesome.
Oh, delicious.
I'm starving.
It's my favorite.
Especially when it's hot out.
It's not hot out here, though, eh?
Do you think we'll ever have one weather again?
Have you seen the 14-day forecast?
We're going to be 30 or 10 days in a row.
If we can get through this last little bit here,
no, no, because we'll go from too wet and cold,
and then it'll be forest fires and smoke and we'll be able to go outside.
Well, and you know what it'll be, it'll be face down at the stampede.
Oh, a lot of, yeah, a lot of sweat hog.
Stay hydrated, folks.
A lot of, yeah.
Why is denim a choice for cowboys?
It's so fucking hot in the summer.
What are we doing with denim?
Don't we have linens or something that breathes?
What are we doing?
I was actually going to bring this up as well.
How is it that Stampede controls the weather?
They control everything in this town and this province.
They got the weather.
They do it all.
And then they decide,
all right,
enough rain hot.
I'm just glad they finally agreed on getting that rink done.
Now that's happening.
I mean,
good work,
Stampede.
Well,
they got the water going again,
right,
just in the nick of time
and they'll get that rink built and it's just the pipe.
See,
you need,
Rhett,
you need the stampede to tell you what to do.
Stampede.
And they're going to have some plans for you.
Yankee Duty Dandals at Flames Development Camp to come play in Calgary
because how can you come to Calgary during Stampede
and not want to come play here?
Let's go.
Yeah.
Flames Development Camp.
Winsport.
Are we excited?
Are we going to slide by and watch the...
Quick question.
Thought about going.
Really?
I thought about going.
But the issue I had was I actually looked at Googled Calgary Flames this morning
and went on the website.
And then I clicked the development camp.
And it said, on ice evaluation.
Mm-hmm.
What does that entail?
Well, you observe and evaluate.
Like, are they?
I remember when I was doing a practice.
Working for the farm team.
And the development camps has gotten a little fat and sassy.
So we're covering it.
And it was Jay Feaster's first.
And he's like, I want physicality.
If you're a, show us how you play.
If you're physical hit people, if you fight, fight people.
It was like, we're done with this nonsense.
Let's bleep and go.
And then a couple guys got into you're like,
okay, we got to dial this back a bit again.
It's just the summer skates.
Some guys have been off ice for, you know,
recovered from the end of the season.
Other guys have been skating and practicing.
This is usually a bunch of drills.
And then they have one scrimmage at the end,
but you really got to want it.
Pike and RJ will be there shooting B-roll on the weekend.
Our boys.
We'll get them, boy.
We got it covered.
Woo!
Maybe I won't.
Yeah, they got you covered.
They definitely weren't worried about you covering it for them.
I had a camera ready.
It's some, right.
Some microphones.
Did you get some of that?
Except, Red calls it brool.
He didn't know that it's all.
D-roll.
I'll go get some broil.
Yeah, I got the Braves camp.
How many brawes do we need?
I got some great brawl for you.
You're going to, you're going to have to just love it.
Upload it and get into it.
Well, Pinder, how we doing?
you were,
you were,
so walk us through,
you go to Vegas,
you're doing the Vegas thing.
Yep.
We did the Friday night show,
and then haven't seen you sit.
So walk us through the near week
in the life of Pinder that is fall.
Yeah,
so got down Tuesday night,
Vegas was smoking hot.
It was like the oven on warm
when you walked out of the casinos.
It's like,
oh,
but you could dry clothes here in five minutes
if you came out of the washing,
it was hot,
but everything's air conditioning.
They did they, awesome at the circuit.
They put us up there that stadium swim sports book.
Insane.
Just nuts.
Like four story screen,
pools, people,
blackjack dealers in bikinis,
whatever you want.
It's all there,
Dino, all there.
Good stuff.
Shows are good.
Todd Button on,
which was great.
Cammy,
sneak attacked on the second day,
talked about some of the Western League kids.
We had a good little run.
And then live show,
I thought was a ton of fun.
I know RJ was like going mad,
trying to frame us all.
But other than that,
I thought it was a slam dunk.
Nearly had rat.
Yeah.
I mean, the idea of having Rett was there, right?
Wasn't it?
I was there.
Yeah.
Faulty, I needed a better microphone.
Yeah, that's what I want.
So anyway.
After the live stream, I got invited to some piano bar with an old co-worker,
which of course, right, dueling pianos.
And then I hadn't seen him in years.
So he slides a hundo to the dueling pianos.
I'm on stage singing chantilly lace and get back to the table.
Your flight's been canceled.
I'm like, what the, God death.
No.
No.
Chantilly lace, pretty face.
Pony tail hanging out, wiggle and walk,
Google and talk.
Makes it a way around, around.
You know, like, go to.
Yeah.
Big got girl.
Maybe I'm so funny.
Make me spend my money.
I'm familiar with this.
Maybe I'm real loose like a long neck goose saying,
oh, baby, that's what I like.
So bring down the house.
People are roaring.
Unbelievable.
Have the time of my life.
Old pal, I've seen him in years.
It's going to be tough to leave tomorrow.
Right.
It could be tough to get on that plane.
Buzz kill. Buzz kill.
So I'm like, okay, I'm screwed probably.
But I'm extra screwed if I leave this even like 10 extra minutes.
So I immediately booked the first flight that actually makes sense.
They were trying to fly me through New York.
Like, no, I'm not flying through New York.
I didn't get you back by Sunday morning.
What are you talking about?
I leave it like Saturday at 8 a.m.
What are we talking about here?
So I find through Denver for like $1,100 bucks one way.
But I'm like, okay, it gets me home.
It's just money, right?
Yeah.
Right.
Seems like a reasonable cost.
That's what I told the boss in Eminson, too.
I said, it's just money, right?
So booked through.
Glenn Cross was on the flight.
Good to see him.
And then immediately got home, watched the last 10 minutes of Canada, Chile,
and Copa America and then hit the road up to Windermere and spent the weekend with the family,
who didn't resent me being in Vegas for five days at all.
Good.
Good.
It's supportive of your hard work.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Providing.
You're providing for the family.
You're doing a hell.
job, right? It's correct. Yeah, I'm kind of,
not really any of those, but sure, yeah, the efforts,
its idea of it is there.
So, yeah, and then tomorrow
fly to Seattle to watch the Jays, living the dream, baby.
Okay.
Taking the kids, you know? Got a
get a little FaceTime. Oh. Are you
taking the kids? Yeah. I got
five kids for our dads. Let's go.
I see.
Yeah.
I mean, at a
young age, you really want your kids to be able
to differentiate between a hazy IPA
and what we would call like an
and East Coast.
Very different flavors.
Yeah, for sure.
And I feel like the state of Washington has a lot to offer there.
The state of Washington does have a lot to offer.
You're an IPA guy.
It's the best for that.
And druggies.
And there's lots of stabbings and crimes.
So yeah, I can look forward to that as well.
Also eBay, Amazon, sports teams.
Boats, fish.
Bike Place Market.
Chowder.
Chowder.
Oyster crackers.
Yeah, well, I mean,
for sure. Now, can you take your kids to the piano bar? Can you do the big bopper when the kids are there?
Like, at what time can you lock them into their hotel room and disappear?
Some of these places have babysitters on staff. You've got to pay them way too much money.
Shut the front door. I would divide this by four. That's perfect.
Well, you better leave them all together. Yeah. You're all in room 10, 12, and you're watching Inside Out one and two, back to back.
It's an Inside Out marathon. Make sure don't drink Dad's water by the bedside table. Yeah.
For sure, too, also, let Mrs. Pinder know that you're leaving them with a daycare in a strange city while you go.
I don't think that's a wise choice at all.
I actually think that you should allow them to see you write riproar and shitfaced as opposed to.
This is where America struggles.
In Europe, they've got this figured out.
How are you supposed to learn and understand if you can't?
Exactly.
Yes.
In Ireland, if you can reach over the bar, you're good for a Guinness.
I was actually thinking that the other day.
I had to stop at the booze store to get booze.
Yeah.
And I'm like,
what they're in the old days?
The olden days.
Grandpa would have pulled like my grandpa,
I know pulled up at the booze store and sent my dad in to get the booze as a kid.
Like,
sure,
yeah.
Go grab a six pack.
I'm going to have a dart here.
Say hi to Marty.
I don't know.
I'll pay him next week.
Put it on the tab.
Yeah.
Like there was still a freaking tab.
Yeah.
Like,
why can't I send my kid in?
If I'm sitting out, go get me some booze.
Because dad needs to get rip-roar and shit-faced.
Yes.
Whiskey.
So what now?
So Seattle, what's the schedule?
How many games?
What's happening?
It's Friday night game and then Saturday, Sunday, matinees.
Holy smack.
That's busy.
It's pretty good.
We'll get in early tomorrow morning.
Pike Place Market, swim in the pool, walk to the stadium,
watch batting practice.
You may or may not be some $5 beer until a half hour before
first pitch if you're by the bat and go
bullpins, but who knows that stuff anyway?
Who's to say?
You're a big time. You've spent time in Toronto.
You must have some big ends with that
team. I used to, but they
gunned the guy that I was really good with.
Yeah, he's in Baltimore now.
Good craft kicks.
What about your Rogers?
Yeah, how's Rogers
feel about us these days? That's a good question.
Let's see how that one goes.
That's good. I don't know. Every time we try
to get a guest on here, it's
really.
I mean, let's be honest.
If there's one thing, a billion dollar corporation should be wary of,
it's a couple of donkeys sitting in a hair salon and Mardaloup.
On YouTube, yeah.
Yeah.
That's, that's what would be your biggest threat.
When you analyze the market, that's what you should be worried about.
Taking a bite out of them for sure.
Anyway, so, um, so yeah, there you go.
Well, good.
Have fun.
I mean, you know, be safe.
Thank you, brother.
I haven't realized you were taking a while.
It's always like, I always say that you don't even have to.
be a huge baseball or jays guy like this is a canadian pilgrimage is a great canadian sporting
experience not unlike going to a great cup whether you like three down football or not it's
pretty cool and you get 15 20 000 Canadians pouring into a city from all over western
canada how is the team not good not great bob um but also bad uh they are at a season low eight games
under 500 after they're lost to
Houston yesterday. I think it was 1-1 in the sixth inning
and they lost 9-2. Oh.
Romano, probably done
for the year. Oh, no. Jimmy,
don't call me Yimmy Garcia. Maybe
can come back soon. Come on.
Eric Swanson, who was
one of their best relievers last year's in AAA because he
forgot how to throw. I think right arm shittiness
is what he got diagnosed with.
Send him down.
Bo Bichette is a bit late scratch today.
He's hitting 228 this year, the career
300 hitter.
Um, is it because they're a bunch of drunkards and partiers?
No.
Oh, I was telling Jack earlier today.
I remember being in Seattle a decade ago or so.
And we were at a place called cowgirls where they got these like leather straps and they dance on the bar.
Tons of fun.
And a few of the blue jays were there.
And, you know, all the fans like, oh, it's Colby Rasmus.
Oh, Colby's a goddamn puddle.
Colby doesn't know who Colby is.
He's that into it.
He's hit and lead off.
We go, it's a matinee the next day.
I'm like, watch this.
Colby Rasmus.
Like incoming golden sombrero.
Guys are going to be brutal.
First pitch, out of the yard home run.
Playing guilty.
Like a Rhett Warner amongst us.
Getting at it the night before, performing the day after.
I'm hearing rumblins.
These guys are trouble.
I don't know if it's trouble.
The group I thought was trouble was fun to watch.
This group looks like a bunch of red asses there.
Well, it's one or the other.
They got to get out.
Battle through it.
I got to show them how they did how to do it like Colby did.
Where's the piano boards, yeah.
Exactly.
To hell.
It's Google.
But no, they're not very good.
They've had bad.
injury shit.
They had one of the best bullpins in baseball last year.
They're maybe the worst this year.
I don't know how that happens.
It's like the same dudes.
Still early.
Don't.
It's not early.
Games don't matter yet.
You know what matters?
It's a big one coming up at the end of July.
It's called the trade deadline.
Because they're going to be liquidating numerous of their dozen pending free agents.
Like a flames type of situation?
Very flames.
They should call Conroy and he could walk them through this.
Donnie would have some pointers for whoever's going to be running the team.
I guess I don't know that Shatkins has much more rope.
But yeah, there's Kukuchi, Garcia, Romano, I think is up.
But we got Otani at least.
So that's.
Are you Dodgers guys?
That what I'm hearing?
Tani's coming, right?
From flight watch to now might be like the saddest six months in Blue Jays history,
whatever that was.
Oh, here's the private jet.
You're so naive.
And you know, he visited their facility, which is not.
nice. He only did that for one other team.
But no, he didn't, from that
anticipation of like Otani to today.
Pretty shitty.
Yeah, I was going to be a season ticket holder and I could care less.
You got that of VanderKane helicopter thing figured out,
Buffalo to the Rogers Center.
Zip right up there.
Yeah, so in an hour.
They win this one.
They split eight games against the Yankees and Astros.
Who cares?
Yeah, yeah.
We'll get into Sue, I guess, the hockey,
portion of the program. A presentation of McLeod Law, our good friends over at McLeod Law,
there are buddies, they should be your buddies too if you have challenges that you need addressing,
whether it's personal, maybe it's business, there's nobody better. They're Calgary based,
they understand the city, they're proud of their roots, they run deep here in the city of
Calgary. And like our city, very diverse, sharing a commitment to making a positive impact
in our community, McLeod-dashlaw.com. Wrette and I, we, man, fine tooth comb. We,
went over all of the free agency a couple days ago there's really i'm not sure there's much
left to talk about we yeah a lot of homework on these kids so um national gonna be good
that's kind of that's fun i'm not convinced but i like they're already like way better than
we thought they'd be two years in a row like how is this team good like they but the kids they've got
have been really good, like the evangelistas.
That's the problem.
What do you need?
The old bastards for them.
Because then you can slot these kids properly.
Well, aren't they going this way, the kids?
Yeah, I don't know.
There's a 40 goal score in there.
That's what Stammer had last year.
Well, there's certainly not going to be if Stammer is taken all the time.
I like what they did.
And I think Barry Trots is like, screw it.
Like, why mess around?
Let's try to win.
Now, look, in five years.
But like Shea's a good defenseman.
I like that.
It's a four-year deal for Stamco,
so it doesn't feel like it's a killer, right?
Yeah.
That's palatable.
It's five for Marsha.
So seven for Shea.
It's interesting.
I wonder how close and how much of the talk of trading Saros
was actually legit and how much was just media speaking.
It never made sense to me.
That's a big pivot, right?
It's how they may trade this guy or sign him for eight years.
And the word was.
in much opposite directions in that. So now Ashgarov, the other goalie is kind of hanging,
twisting in the wind. They'll move him at some point. But it all, it really kind of looks like,
like you said, we're going to, we're going to try this. We're going to sign the goalie. We're going to go
to free agency. I don't know how far out they, they knew they had a line on on Stamco's.
How much that affects them. Thursday, Friday is when things fall apart. It was like, it's done in Tampa.
Yeah. And I said to Rhett the other, if Florida can be.
a tax-free destination and Vegas can be tax-free and these teams can, why the hell not us?
Let's try and make a, at least start to get a culture here and get things going.
Not that they haven't been, obviously, but maybe.
No one thought Vegas was going to be that.
And for a long time, the Florida Panthers certainly weren't that.
Maybe it can be Nashville's turn.
I don't know.
Well, and look, I think the tax everything is blown out of whack because it's not like these are bad places that happen to have good tax rates.
they're all phenomenal places.
Like you think about the weather,
you think about the cities,
you think about living in those places.
They might be on the top of your list anyway.
Yeah, like let's say Winnipeg is tax free.
Does anyone give a shit?
Like, I'm sorry, I don't think so.
But like, do you like Miami-Fort Lauderdale?
Oh, well, hell yeah.
Like, that's in the winter, that's perfect.
And then in the summer I can go somewhere
and that's when it's the worst.
Nashville, amazing.
One of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S.
Like Vegas, oh my God, insane.
Like, we're talking about really, really desirable
destinations, that happened to have that extra bonus of less tax.
Now, you still travel on the road.
You still pay taxes on all 41 road games.
But like, LA doesn't have a tough time recruiting.
That's one of the worst tax environments in the U.S.
The Rangers, worst tax environment in the U.S.
They don't have tough time recruiting.
Like, the zero state taxing is a bonus.
These are all places you'd want to live as a hockey player in the winter.
I just didn't people miss that too much.
just looking at their
their depth chart as it sits on
daily face off they have
the top line from a year ago with
Nyquist on the right side Philip Forsberg
Ryan O'Reilly
Stamcoast left Marsha on the right side
Tommy Novak down the middle for line
two Colton Sisson's third line center
with Evangelista and former
Flame Mark Jankowski and then
Michael McCarron Yuso Parson and Cole Smith
there may be some guys to your point retro that are coming right now it doesn't feel
they're not pushing anyone off the depth chart if cold smith wants to throw his weight around
and evangelista like i think evangelista was good but he's still getting he's going to be a top nine
guy and then in the back end they add she they add alexander carry a so keep him yeah they retain
carry he sorry yeah they keep him so it's yosi and shay lozon carrier and then uh spencer stasney
and Luke Shenan the back end.
So, I mean, it's not a, it's not a juggernaut.
But to your point, they seem, they look like they're better.
They look like there's a different kind of a feel to them.
And I just wonder moving forward how much.
And I think everybody likes the coach.
Everybody loves Barry Trots.
Like you say, everybody loves the city.
Burnett, yeah.
That said, Yosey's not young.
Stamcoast isn't young.
And six months ago, they were going to dismantle.
Yeah.
And that's why I never really bought the Saros thing.
because it's like when in the last 10 years
have we seen an organization hand the keys
to an H.L goalie?
Like especially a team that was almost in the,
that did make the playoffs.
They lost to Vancouver.
Like what playoff team have we seen hand the keys
to like a 21 year old H.O.
I'm going back further though.
Like maybe Carrie Price.
Yeah, but that's not even the last 10 years.
Like it's just, it's so rare.
And that's right.
How many goalies are getting picked in the first round anymore?
Right.
Ascroft was, but my point is just that, like, it never felt like, I always thought it was negotiating leverage with Saros.
Because even Saros, who's a great goalie and has finished top six in Vesna, like the last four years in voting, I don't know this year, but prior.
Like, he had four or five years of understudy on René.
Like, it isn't a problem to have like a nice platoon with a star goalie and a prospect goalie.
Like, what are we talking about here?
And I think the word was Stamco or Saros's camp said, get this done.
it was just like it was too much.
So if it was negotiating leverage, it worked.
Because he said, get that yield done.
And it's not 9, 10.
What is it?
Eight.
Like it's,
I'm going on.
My point was that January?
They were out of the playoffs and in cell mode.
Yeah, they had a nice little heater there, didn't they?
Didn't they win a gazillion in a row and get themselves back into it and have the best second
half in the league?
With Evanton, yeah.
And the year prior, we thought they were no good.
And they were pushed right till the last week of the season and almost got in.
So they were always a sum greater than their individual parts the last two years.
And now all these guys that aren't stars are slotted more appropriately.
And for the age concerns about Yosy and Stamco's, we haven't seen decline yet.
Like they are still doing what they're paid to do.
Like Stamcoast scored 40 this year.
Roman Yossi had what?
Something close to 80 points.
Like there's, I'm jaded about Stamco's because you're playing with,
you still have to put the puck in the net.
But he is not driving those goals.
He's a finisher.
Yeah, I agree.
And he's not great defensively,
but he's a finisher.
And that, you know, they've got a bunch of blue-collar plumbers that can play D.
This is going to help their power play.
And, you know, geez, their top six looks way more deadly after July 1.
Stapco's 34, Marsha, so 33, Ryan O'Reilly there.
He's got three years left.
He is 33.
Nyquist is three.
All those guys who want a cup too.
34 for Yossi.
Shea is 30.
And Saros, who will, he's got one year left, right?
At his, at his last, on his last deal, he wasn't a UFA.
So he's got nine years left, including the extension.
And he's 29.
That's fine.
Yeah.
It's a little different.
You know, and I'm not, I'm not coming back at you, but how dissimilar?
And I mean, I mean, it's not exactly.
what Florida did with
Bobrovsky and having drafted Spencer
Knight. But this is the team with a
first round drafted
goaltender and have elected
to give a long-term big money extension
to the veteran goaltender. I'm kind of
with Pinder here, and I don't think anyone's
against Pender, but go back to
Pittsburgh with, and it wasn't a first rounder
but when they had Murray and
Murray and Fleury. They were
both playing very well and the team was
doing quite well. It's an asset that's
quite easy to move. You got to go
Bull tender.
In theory, yeah.
And I just, until you prove it in the NHL,
I don't really care if you're dominant in the A.
I mean, are people like Dustin Wilson?
You can't say that if,
because you've touted Wolf as a,
wow, we've said he's an elite HL goal.
We don't know what he, like you hope he could be a start in the NHL.
If Wolf was a platoon guy, you'd be thrilled,
um, based on a seventh rounder, but no, like,
you, until you've proven at the NHL level, like,
why would you hand the keys to a playoff team to a kid that's never proven
in the NHL? I don't get it.
Flam.
Oh, this is perfect,
this is exactly what you've asked them to do for two years.
Okay, you're right.
You're right.
Wolf, don't you dare steal points, you bastard.
Dustin Wolf, by the way,
I believe plus 1,100 to win the Calder next year,
if you like the high volume environment,
he's going to be playing in.
Lots of opportunity for highlight real saves.
We can talk about the flames a little bit.
Yeah, they got everybody,
they're being evaluated as we speak out at Winsport,
big time evaluation.
On ice evaluations.
How many guys there are going to be on the team?
A couple.
Like Coronado's there?
Hard to say.
I didn't even look at the lineup really.
Coronado.
Everyone else is just a kid.
I'd be pissed if I was Coronado.
Would you?
He's playing college like 14 months ago.
You should be excited.
You're going to get a chance to play.
They had to do testing.
Oh, I see.
Yeah, they did that yesterday.
At this moment, you mean?
Yeah.
On July 4th.
Yes.
How long would testing wear on you?
Like a day later?
or you still got those like achy and bruised lungs?
It's not even that it wears on you.
It's that you know that the coaches and the management are going to look at it.
And when you finish your season,
you have a game plan, right?
And there should be a lot at a certain amount of time to build up to it.
But right now he's going, well, if I go to camp,
this rookie camp, whatever the hell you call it,
development camp, and I shit the bed on testing,
they can say they don't care, but they will.
they'll hold it again right like so you had better be able to test well and it's just one of those
things that it's like they should have a longer runway for for that to happen i get why they do it
and this and that but for coronado i think it's a pain in the ass is what i'm getting at yeah and
some guys have been done for months other guys who have had long playoff runs say in the chl
some collegiate guys been done for eight like it's it's tough because you want to get a baseline but
it's as you said everyone's got an offseason program that's built to ramp up
yeah as you get towards the end of september it's 21 it's not like they're asking
michael backlin to come and get on the bike he's had one pro season i don't have a problem
with it it was the funny one he had to go to five of these things i said i would be annoyed if
i was coronado i didn't share him complained yeah what if you're what if you put your uh your
your gm hat on you want him in this group
Building
Honestly God,
I think it's a
Don't get cocky kid
because you more than it is.
That's the message I'm okay with it.
That's the message.
It's whatever.
He had a great year in the American League
and showed some progress
but did not do the things
you wanted to do in the NHL.
And so
this sort of reminds us
potentially that he doesn't have a job here.
He has to come to camp
and earn one still.
He's not an NHLer yet.
He's got to finish on the big club.
But that was after they liquidated
you know, lots of guys.
Well, hey, Anthony Math is on the scene now too, boys.
I mean,
you can't teach big.
Truculent.
Have you measured him up?
He's not truckling.
He's big.
Big old.
He's big like Huberto's big.
You might not notice his size.
Yeah, but he's like 235.
Does he dispense some thuggery or?
Oh, look out.
Yeah.
Don't hold your breath.
how you feel when you're that big and anytime you read something you're you know online whatever
and anytime there's some sort of a review or synopsis of your game it's always uh he's big but
doesn't play big big body but doesn't really use i'm not physical despite his towering physique uh well you know
hey i'm i'm i'm a score the guy can score the guy can score that was huge specimen you adjustment
well yeah i mean this guy at least is play
and it's scored. I just mean like there are guys like that. I think, you know,
it's if you're a certain size, people just expect you to play a certain way. And look,
if he was scoring 35 a year, no one would complain. But when he's not scoring and you see
him that big and you're like, come on. Like, there's another way you can help this team. I've not
watch a guy enough. I think we'll probably see him plenty this year and understand what the
positives and the negatives are, right? Like, it's a great spot for him because he's going to get
top power play ozone. Like,
Like this is this is your chance, Anthony.
If you want to resuscitate your stock,
you're not going to have juicier options than you do here.
You're going to be stuck in a third line on championship caliber teams.
Right now, you're going to get top line everything, ozone, first power play.
Like this is your chance.
If you can't do it here, it's probably not going to happen.
And if it does happen here, you got a nice trade chip if you're Craig on.
Big Tony Math.
Now you are very, I mean, I said to rat the other.
I know, it's different because one's talking long term.
but you were very against the flame signing a winger.
Me or I?
You, why would they go and sign a winger in free agency?
Why they got so many winners,
they got rid of Manjapani because they got so many wingers.
And then they went out and got a winger.
You wanted to be able to add a winger,
whether you were getting bribed to do it
or whether you found someone on a value deal.
Like if Manjipani's here, I just don't see room.
But yeah, I'm fine with this.
This makes sense.
It's one year.
It's low money.
And it's a guy you can pump and dump it the day.
deadline. But yeah, go try to put
Coronado on the top nine if you want to have fun game.
I think you can just put them there though.
You know what I mean? That's the nice option for a Husker
or Conroy or whatever. You know what?
We like how you've been working.
Here's a little bit of a whatever.
The challenge is going to be you're going to have someone like
a Coleman or a Huberto that isn't
giving you everything you want and that's not
going to be a happy human on your fourth line.
And again, these are small,
problems. Like we understand the team's not going to be good.
They're going to try to be good, but they don't have the weapons, but trying is good enough.
They're going to need miracles, multiple to be a competitive squad.
Are you surprised at all that they didn't?
I brought this up with boom the other day.
I was hoping they'd capitalize their cap space.
Still can.
Well, yes, I just wondered if it would have happened because there's been some buyouts of players
where I'm like, who was the defense from the other day, Schmidt?
Well, Suter got bought out too.
Yeah.
But like a Schmidt, I'm like, wouldn't that be a you need defenseman?
The Skinner one was fascinating to me because he's got three years left.
You've got cap space.
How many firsts would you need to eat that Jeff Skinner deal?
Because it helps Buffalo a lot to not have this guy on payroll the next six years.
They should theoretically be competitive.
Then that's the points.
I was getting it.
I'm like, it's not because any of the guys that you could add or whatever, take a spot.
As long as the, but clearly there was not enough.
value to do it. And I think teams will get more desperate the closer you like you get in season and
this guy's not working. This guy gets hurt. Shit, we can't put them on LTIR, but we need a body.
Like the pinch for teams against the cap isn't lessening as you get closer to the deadline.
It's only increasing, especially when they're like, we want to add, but we got to get rid of some money.
I think the best time to weaponize cap space is when teams are most desperate. There's going to be a lot of that in season.
Flames have the
Most Cap Space in the entire
NHL
Which has never happened
No this is
They're in
Morello Yotes territory right now
Yeah
Leading the league in cap space
I wonder some of it
Because obviously right now
And I think this too
Again we talked about it
Jacob Truba has fallen out of favor
With the New York Rangers
And it looks like Chris Drury
Would like to get him out
There is a 15 team no trade list
That Jacob Truba has
It went from a full to a 15 team.
We'd like the list, please, Jacob.
You would, right?
You would probably assume there'd be, hey, we will take Jacob Truba, two years left,
$8 million.
And if you want to throw in a first, we'll do that.
But chances are,
claims are probably on that no trade.
What's behind the Truba issues?
I think he's a good player making too much money.
Like, he's a captain of your team.
I don't know.
I asked you this boom the other day.
It's like, can you recall a team actively,
trying to trade their captain.
Like it's, it's probably happened a few times,
but God, it feels weird.
And like he's,
he's a, the player gets,
you can have polarizing views on the humans phenomenal.
We've seen all kinds of videos with him handing out scholarship money.
And like,
he's embedded in that community.
Like he,
he absolutely operates like a captain in one of the,
you know,
the biggest,
brightest markets in hockey.
It's really odd.
And his numbers in the playoffs,
especially that Carolina series.
He was,
no,
And that's, he got, he got, you know, buried.
And you, it is, but you know what?
It happens sometimes where it's, it's an unfortunate spot and you can either choose to ignore it or you can take it head on.
And I think that's what jury's trying to do.
Now, just again, looking at their, at their depth chart, Braden Schneider, Adam Fox, Jacob Truba on the right side.
I would think at this point, Schneider's probably moved past.
Process of passing him, yeah.
Kandre Miller, Ryan Lindgren, and Zach Jones on the left side.
and there may be other guys in the system.
Here's your captain making $8 million.
He's probably your first best.
He's your captain and you might be healthy in the guy,
depending on what happened.
I'd be careful here, Rangers.
Like, we've,
how many games have you watched with the Rangers
where Jacob Chuba's physicality
has completely influenced the flow of the game?
100%.
And I don't understand.
Last two trips to New York for the flames that happened.
Whoa, and that's all.
He went head first into the boards.
Remember that?
Yeah.
And we also, so he's fine.
Like I know, I didn't think he played that well.
I have 100% in agreement with that.
But why does everyone else that doesn't play well?
Probably was some bumps and bad.
Yeah, like Leon, it's like, oh, he's obviously was hurt.
And it's like, yeah, it probably was.
Like, but no one's given Jacob.
Yeah, you watch Jacob Truba go Superman faceplant into the boards and he's supposed to pop up.
Oh, no problem.
Like, I got to wonder if there's something that.
Anyway, I don't know.
The other side of it is,
if malcontent is the word,
wasn't happy in Winnipeg
was kind of getting me out of here.
Is it a personality trait that's, I don't know.
I think he's been a great leader and he loves it there.
And someone had posted a picture of him with his wife at a hospital
and like there's lives away from hockey here.
And that's why you negotiate for a no move clause
so that you can protect your family from the risk of just getting sent anywhere
at any time.
And what I'm fascinated with is when they asked for Jacob Truba's trade list,
does Jacob go through the 15 cities that are least desirable to him?
Or does Jacob go through the 15 teams that probably want to add him and make life really
difficult for Chris Drury, who's making life difficult for him?
Like if you just checked all the teams that are like, we're a defenseman away, we're contenders,
go flex your no move there.
Because there's no one else is going to give you much for him if they don't need a trouba.
Jury's got a bit of the black hat right now because he did that with Barkley Goodrow.
a couple weeks ago where we're going to trade you.
Well, I have a no trade.
Okay, well, how about waivers?
Because you don't have a no move.
And then he ends up in San Jose.
Now, Truba is whatever the story.
I will prevent, I don't know the exact details.
Wife's a doctor.
She's involved in New York.
They don't want to leave.
They don't want to leave New York.
We can understand that.
But you also don't want to be somewhere where you don't want to,
where you're not wanted.
And it would be embarrassing at some point when you're the
captain and you know that your team is actively trying to trade you.
And then maybe if your play is suffering either because of that or just regardless of that,
not ideal.
It's tough to be a captain.
You're not supported by the management and the coach.
You know what I mean?
That is an awkward room to be in.
And the word is that's where it's been since the request for the 15 trades is like
Jacobs like beside himself.
Like everything I've given to this org, like I don't want to leave.
Why do they want me gone?
Yeah.
And it's mostly probably just too much money, but he didn't have a good playoffs.
He's not going to be an analytics darling.
That's not what he does.
He intimidates.
He imposes his physicality.
He leads.
Boy, when he plays, you've watched games or you're like, hell yeah, I'll take him on my team.
So you get that poor play dates back prior to the playoffs, but we just watch closely, right?
The focus and the lights shine brighter.
Chances are, probably there's been some.
questionable play prior to the playoffs because you're right i don't know if that two or three
week stretch and we only got to trade our cap or are you just looking at it if your jury has a he makes
eight our defense core is solid without him he's our fifth he's are easy he's yeah if i can
eliminate that that's a lot of dough for a guy i don't need it's cut throat as hell like it's it's it's
kind of like how tampa approached stamp goes it's like yeah this isn't the feel good easy thing to do
This is absolutely like psychopathic cutthroat when at all costs.
But that's how he approached the Goodrow thing.
He's not a great defender by the numbers.
But again, he is the most feared hitter in the sport.
Period.
Stop.
There's no one you fear more with his shoulders than Jacob Trubon and his elbows occasionally.
But that's that's what he is.
He hasn't had a bad year for that.
He's crushed guys all year.
You know, he's put Jacob Pellche back in the miners from which he might not
return. He's
looking at the,
the Rangers drop capital. If it was going to cost
them a first to move him out,
uh,
they have a first. They have no second, third,
fourth. They have one fifth.
And it's Minnesota's fifth as they have moved out a bunch of
picks.
Well, wait, you're not going to pay to get rid of them.
They might be at that point.
Eight million.
But if you're another team and he's on like,
there's 15 teams out there.
Mm-hmm.
17 teams.
15 trade.
whatever.
Half the league is.
You're not asking me, are you?
Half the league is able to get him.
There has to be a few teams that would go, yes, this would be a great, a really good.
And so has Jacob put those teams on his list?
If he wants to stay in New York, that's the move.
If Chris Drury wants to play like hardcore, you know, ruthless, they can do that too.
So Detroit would love them.
guarantee you put Detroit on the list.
It'd be interesting to see what happens when emotions kind of take the summer.
You'd have to weigh that, though.
Sorry,
I'd cut you off there.
But you really have to weigh that because you go through the 32, 31 teams.
And, okay, so you're not going to go to Detroit who wants you.
But Detroit's up and coming.
Then you're going to leave Calgary open and you might end up in a place where you don't want to be.
Do you know what I mean?
like you would have there would have to be some homework done on that scenario.
Yeah, no, I know.
And that's why I'm curious about fascinated by it because that's like the tactical thing.
He doesn't want to leave New York.
At some point this summer,
Dean, I agree with you.
He'll come around to the reality that he has to move on.
I don't know that his camps there yet.
To Red's point, that's a big game of chicken.
If you're going to put a bunch of good teams on your no trade,
just to try and get into a pissing match with Chris Drury,
then all of a sudden you end up, like you say,
somewhere.
Winnipeg?
You don't want to be.
That would be the peak clarity.
And look, live by the sword, die by the sword.
He was pretty cutthroat with the jets.
Yep.
He played the system.
And, you know, that kind of reminds me of who was the European defense from
Tim Erickson, the flames drafted.
He's like, actually, you know what?
I'm not going to sign guys.
And I want to go play for the Rangers.
And that was the Roman Horack swap that Jay Feaster had to make.
What a pick.
And you know what?
It's like, okay, Tim Erickson, you want to be a CNAX Tuesday?
Off you go to New York.
They didn't use him.
He went and rotted in Hartford and then went to Columbus and rotted in their minor league teams.
Like, well, that's who you get, maybe.
A little karma coming at you.
Tim Erickson didn't want to be a flame, goes to New York?
Stinks.
Adam Fox doesn't want to be a flame.
Goes to New York.
Terrible.
You know, when are these guys going to learn?
Definitely a trend.
Figure it out.
Wasn't even top two in Norris votes this year.
What a bum.
Two.
Yeah.
What's all this Norris trophy talk?
Anyway.
No update on Oliver Shillington.
He is, he remains unsigned.
And again, it's much the same kind of conversation we had the other day, retro.
Here's a guy, what, are you getting bad advice?
Do you really want to move on?
Is there something?
We don't know.
We don't know.
But he is unsigned.
And it kind of filled us whole with Jake Bean.
Not that you couldn't.
He's still room.
One more guy down the depth chart, but.
I would think, we don't know how the negotiations have gone,
but I would think if you're the team, from my point of view,
and that you put myself in if I'm in management with the flames,
I'm annoyed with this guy now.
I think this is a really, really silly move by J.P. Barry and Oliver Shillington's,
that decision group, the people that are planning this,
you essentially made $4 million to not play hockey for almost two years,
while the team stood by your side, defended you,
sheltered you, gave you the privacy and time that you needed.
Not NHL standard, not like, yeah, okay, he breaks his leg, he goes in Altair.
This is above and beyond, well exceeding.
There are many teams that would have suspended you for not showing up.
And there was a lot of words that were very grateful,
and there were a lot of words that suggested loyalty.
The actions haven't matched that at all.
And the time frame is important.
Like, we started this podcast.
That's about the amount of time
that Oliver Shillington got paid
about $4 million to not show up to work.
And I'm not suggesting he wasn't dealing
with big issues,
but what I am suggesting is that the team
stood by him with those issues
and gave him all the resources they could
to get him healthy again
to the point where he could play hockey again.
And then when he showed up at camp
and disappeared again after we thought
he was going to be back,
they still stood by him a second time.
And then he comes back for the very end of the season,
a small enough sample to show
that he can play in the league,
but not to show what kind of hockey player
is and he thinks, you know what, I may be able to strike it rich and free agency. That to me is so
ungrateful. And you absolutely have the right to go do that. Just as the flames had the right to
suspend you rather than support you in your time of need when your darkest moment was there.
And when you returned, you talked about how it might have saved your career. The amount of money
that you're chasing here for the people that you think they're undervaluing you by that saved
your career, what are we talking about here? Like, what are you talking about?
That's not how you treat people.
I'm with you.
100%.
I think it's poor.
And I just wonder who's
who's driving that decision?
It has to be the agent.
That's what they're there to do.
They advise you.
That's in the freaking job description on your business.
But if they can advise you,
it doesn't mean you take the advice.
Correct.
And maybe Oliver wants to get back to Calgary
and J.P.
Barry thought he could play hardball and get a bigger number.
And now you're going to standoff out of his face.
Maybe J.P. is saying, dude, you should just take it.
And I don't say, no.
Like, they,
it'll be a combination and they'll,
I don't think one will try to,
they're not going to argue with each other about it.
They've got a plan, but I don't know who's put the plan together.
You would think it would be the agent.
I'd be even more disappointed if this is Shillington saying.
And look, if changing scenery is part of you getting back to you,
great, but don't say all the things you said leading up to this if that's the case.
If you know that's the case, there's ways to approach this much more tactically.
where you can let it be known that you're very appreciative,
but that, you know, for me to be my best self,
I might need to get out of certain communities, groups of people, whatever it is.
Wow.
And again, we never heard anything about it.
We don't know what the hell the issue was.
It's the big blanket of mental health, but like,
that's a credit to the flames.
No one knows even what the hell happened.
They nominated him for a freaking award.
He never even said what the issue was.
And like, that's how good the flames were to this guy.
Nothing got leaked.
They were at absolutely like, you know, this was welded tight.
They could not have supported this player to a higher degree.
And for that, they get, yeah, you know, I think we could get another extra million or a second year.
And you know what?
I don't think other teams have been fooled by this.
Like, where's the offer?
Yeah, that's just it.
If you're going to treat an NHL team that treated you that way like that, maybe we won't go three, four years.
Maybe we'll just do one.
And it's interesting you mentioned, it's J.P. Barry.
This is not a guy that fell off.
off the turnip truck as they say. No, this is a top five book in the sport probably.
You would think that this guy would have very good intel on what interest there would be for
this player. And you know what else has happened in that time that he's not playing? This is,
he's 27 years old. He had eight points in 33 games last year. It's not like this is a young
burgeoning prospect. This is a guy. This is by now, it's kind of what he is. And he could skate and he can
move the puck what this is not a this is not a player who is free of like man like mantha where
is he going to go to get a better opportunity to play even if you take they stood by you you should
stand by them agree with that they're going to give you a contract whatever it might be take a
one year deal and go play 22 minutes a night and then go rene fine the easy solution here was
to take a one year deal at either the amount you got paid to not show up
for at least, you know, for a year and a half, or a little more, whatever.
Like, but then you can show the league what you are.
And you, like, you see he is what he is.
I have no idea what he is.
Is he a third pair or a second pair guy?
There are a lot of years where he was.
I don't know.
Next to Tanna if he was.
Otherwise he wasn't.
The year he made it, we didn't even mention his name going into training.
No, he was a seventh defenseman.
He was like, yes.
And so are you a third pair or a second pair?
You didn't want to, like, if you, you know, played the full season, we'd know.
But instead, you can.
came back and he played 30 games as the team was dissembling the blue line and you and rasmus
didn't play well together bud you didn't look like a top four guy next day anderson who we know is
so if you want top four money well shit maybe if you'd played more than 33 games the last two years
you could have built the case and i'm not trying to make light of the situation he's in but it just
seems a little bit arrogant to go think you're going to go get paid term for top four when he hasn't
been that guy since he played with tana three seasons ago under setter yeah nobody's offering him
top four dollars. Clearly he's not regarded.
They would have been signed by now, but that's probably what he thought he was getting.
He skates well. He's not old. There has been a bit of offense, but I don't think we've seen enough
to go to market and go get the money. And I think he's probably a great human and like for all
accounts I've heard, great guy. It's just a shame that has to end this way because the team bent
over backwards to help him in his darkest time. Yeah. And I don't know. We're told over and over again,
it's a business, it's a business, it's a business.
And for Calgary Flame fans and for Flames staff and all of that.
What was the business move for the flames then over the last two?
I know.
No, I know.
They didn't treat it as a fucking business.
Sorry.
There's a time and a place where the business side has,
you have to put the business aside and treat people as humans and do the right thing.
And he's not keeping up his end of the barricing it.
Yeah.
The words were there, just not the actions.
And look, maybe he comes back to Calgary and says,
geez you know i have a hard time even now he's going like there's he's a lot of lot he's lost a lot
of good faith yeah for sure there's the goodwill that he built up and people are saying yeah if it was
a broken leg is different like yeah but you can't go test a guy for a broken mental health thing
like you really have to you're in the trust tree with the player there isn't a test to say oh
he needs six months oh he needs a year oh he needs two weeks of like we are talking about a massive
amount of trust in
a player and team in this situation.
It's not an X-ray where you look at it
and you give the guy a timetable.
And to your point, right?
It's, you know,
I think we can speak to it.
Between Bradshaw Living and Craig Conroy,
there was a great deal of compassion
shown to this player.
So you don't want to, it's not about
guilting a guy, but they
were tremendous, a tremendous
support to him when he needed help
the most. Just walk through it all.
Oh, walked through his whole career and tell me where the flames have not done wrong.
Yeah.
Where's the bad taste in his mouth?
Where's the you need to squeeze this team for more?
And by all means, if you sign a one-year deal and you look unreal, you'll get it.
Squeeze away.
Squeeze away. You've earned it now.
But not when you've shown up for 33 out of a possible 170-some games.
Now, we won't know, but I don't suspect that the flames are trying to.
to put the squeeze on him.
And what would the squeeze on him look like?
Six-year deal at $2 million?
They probably wanted short-term.
I can't imagine.
I think in the wake of what happened.
I would think it's a,
you want to play one more year at the same
or in the same vein of pay?
Love to have you.
And I think they went up from what his last salary was.
So it's a tough one.
It's not tough.
Well, I just mean like it's it's a tough look for the player.
It's a tough pill to swallow for the flames and the player doesn't look good.
And I, and that's why I'm at, I get emotional, get grumpy with people, but he's not doing the right thing in my opinion.
And I don't want him back.
You've, you've already muddied the waters.
And people are misinterpreting this thing.
Oh, you don't understand mental halls.
This isn't about mental health.
This is about when you needed the team to support you the most, they did.
and they're not saying we don't want you back because of mental health.
You're saying, yeah, you know what?
You treated me great, but it's lack of loyalty.
This isn't a mental health.
And it's, and again, and we'll move on because it feels like,
kind of feels like we're bashing.
But it's also, it's not like you're shunning a better deal to stay in count yet.
Right?
No.
Because if there was, you'd have gone and signed it.
And we would have all said, hey, that's great for him.
It's a four year deal.
It's good money.
flames aren't in that spot whatever but the fact is there was a deal on the table with this team
and you said no and went to get to go elsewhere and as of yet it could happen today by the time
you listen to this it may all be done he could be whatever a Carolina hurricane still doesn't
make you right in my eyes great yeah uh pinta report coming up and terrible terrible asset management
by Conrad what the hell you
how couldn't he have seen this comic?
The players back here and support him in his time of need.
Stinks, though, you do the right thing.
And now it's like, shit, like, what do we do wrong here?
Like, why?
Do we do it the same next time?
Like, you're walking through it.
Well, that's, you know, and that's something that Schillings
might have to have on his plate moving forward,
where other teams are going to go, wait a minute.
What happened with that guy in Calgary?
It didn't go so well.
Why didn't you go back there?
They did a lot to help him.
Yeah.
Like that's not not really the resume of someone that has a should have a great deal of clout.
If you're missing the 22, 23 season in there, that's because there's zero games.
We'll get to the Pinder report.
Coming up here in a moment.
I'm trying to just kind of let let a pause with an awkward, awkward transition to go from that to talking about having stronger erections.
Oh, right.
Well, you didn't.
You're good at that.
Uh, well, yeah.
Talking about.
Oh, no, no, just talking about.
I mean, tell me more.
So they say, uh, I mean, we're on the street.
Be aroused.com.
The website, the Mod medical clinic.
Hey, it's your sexual function.
Medical therapies to optimize your life in the bathroom.
Optimize your life in the bedroom.
If you're popping the blue pill, consider a non-medicated approach via sure.
It works on muscle function, breaks down scar tissue, reforms blood vessels, no pain, no downtime,
could be even covered under extended health benefits from your place of business.
Combined with pelvic floor physiotherapy, the aroused team helps men with incontinence,
sexual performance, hip and lower back pain, and assist the stabilization of the
core to optimize mobility. This is more than just, you know, I don't want to pee as much in the
middle of the night and I'm having trouble performing. This is, this is about as you age as a male.
It's, again, it's about strength and core. The whole thing, and you know what, if you, if you look for
it now, because the Mod Medical Clinic, they're ahead of, they're ahead of the line here. They're out
in front on this. But all of a sudden, I think I was flipping through and it just dawned on me because I,
because we read these things, men's health magazine talking about pelvic floor exercises and how men
don't do them. And what is it, Kegels that, you know, they all talk about the women doing the
key. This needs to be done for men. This is about keeping your diaphragm and your pelvic floor and
being strong and what it does truly to your lower back and the pain and everything else. So, you know,
we're having some fun with it, but it's not about that. It's legit stuff. And these guys are the
best at it. B.R.O.S.com is the website.
go and learn more.
And yeah, if it is one of those things,
we are going to the bathroom a lot,
or you're wondering,
you're seeing some changes and thinking,
geez, am I,
is this a part of my life?
It doesn't have to be.
The Maud Medical Clinic is there to help you out
and to walk you through it.
To book a consultation, go online,
be aroused.c.a.c.
The old pelvic floor.
Muscle. Build it, baby.
Muscle.
Need that muscle.
You see Shane Pinto signed with
the Ottawa senators.
I did,
yep,
two years.
Still waiting for the NHL
to tell us
exactly what happened there,
but they're not going to,
but he definitely did something wrong
that had something to do with gambling.
Yeah.
And had a half-season suspension.
Only time I've ever seen a half-season suspension
with, yeah,
we're not going to tell you what happened, though.
Yeah, it was a thing.
Don't talk about it,
which is whatever.
It's a thing.
One asked,
don't tell.
Yeah.
So anyway,
because that was one of those things,
well,
here's a 23-year-old,
he's a centerman.
He's asked to be traded.
Though Steve Seo says,
no,
he hasn't asked to be traded.
Well, Steve Stahos gets him signed to a two-year deal.
And he's going to stay in Ottawa,
3.75 million per.
So if this was something that Craig Conroy
was maybe going to be looking at,
off the table.
You just keep calling Steve Stios every day.
I know they change GMs,
but the senators still feel like the sentence.
You bring in the brinket, move them out,
get way less. Bring in, checkering out a high price tag,
move them out, get way less.
It has been,
they make things look really,
really hard on it.
They really do, don't they?
You're like, oh, he's a right shot. He's a left shot.
We need a right shot guy. So let's trade
Chikrin for 10 cents on the dollar.
And we get a right shot guy.
Meanwhile, he played the right side last year and his
pair was actually really good. What the hell are you guys doing?
What are you doing?
It's going to be interesting if things don't go well in Ottawa.
I actually didn't mind the Olmark trade.
But yikes, there's been some sketchy shit from them.
Pierre Dorian no longer makes hockey decisions.
I think we're coming up to the four year anniversary.
of the rebuild is over in Ottawa.
It's exciting.
But Kachuk's going to snap at one point,
watching his brother win a cup sitting in Ottawa,
never having played a playoff game.
Like,
that's not how they operate.
I feel like this is the year they've got to turn the corner.
That's the type of shit that'll happen.
It's the same shit, though.
How many years can you be turning the corner and not do it?
Exactly.
When's the corner?
Allmark better be good.
I think that's a big piece of it.
But if they don't make a playoffs,
battling for a playoff spot,
another year.
And I mean, they didn't really battle last year.
But like, so if they're six points out, is that?
Or is that better?
It's going to be you're turning into Buffalo.
Meanwhile,
decades of play non-playoff hockey.
But you could play a whole career in Buffalo and not have played a
playoff game.
Collick Poston nearly did it.
Yeah.
I mean, I guess he started on the island.
Yeah.
Skinner.
Meanwhile, Brady is sitting at the elbow.
watching them dump beer on people.
He's sitting in the corner.
It's hard to go full throttle party.
Brady, do you want to drink out of it?
Well, I'm not supposed to.
I can't.
Fuck, you play for Ottawa.
You're never winning this thing.
Come on over and have a drink out of this thing.
Come on.
Let's be honest.
Be realistic.
You signed long term in Ottawa.
You think there's like some of the photos get out that he's doing like that's a bad.
Yeah, yeah.
That's a tough one.
Let's get into the Pinda Report.
It's a presentation of Village Honda.
Hey, save the date.
August 24th, not that far away all of a sudden.
The fourth annual Honda and Accura, show and shine.
It gets bigger every single year.
There's awards for Best in Show, Best and Modified, Best Classic,
and new for this year, the People's Choice Award.
You can register online, find out all the details.
VillageHonda.com.
And the Pinder Report is a presentation of a...
Ryan Pinda.
Ryan Pinda.
Village Honda.
Thank you, Dean. Let us start with the Calgary Flames. League leaders, the best. Number one.
Top of the table.
In this category, after Robbie Fabry went to the ducks, the flames, I mean, inverse standings.
They're either the best or the worst, depending how you view it. I think Murray Edwards think it's the best.
21.7 million dollars in cap space.
That's asset.
And that's even paying Markstrom not to play for them.
Yep. Right?
Even with Kuzmenko and other free pending UFAs on the roster that probably won't be to finish the season.
Damn right.
All right.
Good work, Connie.
Good work, Connie.
Longtime listener of the show, Craig Conroy.
He's been taking good notes.
Yeah.
I even hear he has some staff that take notes for him on the show in case he has to miss it with travel and such.
Wow.
He'll fill them in AI.
And while we have your attention, do go offer sheet Philip Broberg at $4.5 million with the second round compensation and put the oilers in an incredible
cap bind, would you? Thanks.
Okay. What anniversary it is, Dean?
You can digest that. We'll talk about it next show.
What was it? 1990. Look at this
deal. Holy Toledo.
The flames and blues.
I don't think people
in today realize how
incredibly talented both of these defensemen
were at putting up points. Al McKinness is a
goddamn legend, maybe the most underrated
flame of all time. He still holds
all kinds of NHO franchise
records to the flames for points,
assists.
And I believe was the Kahn Smythe winner.
The other one in the Cup of 89.
Yes, he was.
And they get back, physical Philhouseley, fill the house.
Both would go on to the Hall of Fame.
And that was the first of two spells for Phil Housley
because he came back after what at Winnipeg, I want to say.
Yeah, he was here.
And I think you almost underestimate what Housley did in his career.
Huge points.
Fame.
Because you're from Calgary and you hear him in the McKinness name with the cop team.
You're like,
cool. You're like, oh, that's probably a deal.
We got hoson like Gary Lehman for Gilmore.
Like, no, like, how's he a good player?
Not as good as McHenance.
Big deal. Imagine that one today.
What's the equivalent of that?
Two stints with the flames, too, because he came back later in his career.
If you were, he was on the young guns when he wasn't exactly such a young.
Yeah, he was not so much young and he was shepherding.
I don't think there is a trade like that.
Yeah, is this like McCarford Fox?
I was going to say, well, it is in a way.
I'm like, is it Weber Suban?
Mm-hmm.
That's a great analogy.
That's the closest thing to it.
For sure it is.
Yeah, like star,
all-star defensemen swap for each other.
Although Suban,
probably not going to the Hall of Fame.
Like these are,
they both went through the Hall of Fame.
Even bigger than that.
Yes.
Okay.
We got some news yesterday.
Vlad Tarasenko,
a short-time cat,
Cup winner,
twice over.
Of course, St. Louis as well.
And now a Detroit Red Wing.
Oh, okay.
They've had some good Russians in Detroit.
He'll probably love it there.
How do they make the cap space happen?
Well, they had a little move.
We showed you the graphic with the flames leading the league in caps space.
That's because Robbie Fabri went from Detroit to Anaheim.
It's almost a money neutral swap for the wings in the sense that they sign, what, 4.75, 4.5 for Teresenko,
and four on the button for Fabry, who goes to the ducks.
Four and a quart, I believe.
for a course thank you speaking of the ducks they uh drilled this is the kind of merch we need here
when ret does something stupid we freeze ram his face and we're like remember that show this is uh
becket's sinecky going third over like what do you hear my name i've got uh that's there's
there that are great the facial expression because it's legit and the what the duck is well done
Anaheim. Very easy to have
another t-shirt in this series. You get the
mom too with a little caption bleeped
out because she's just dropped a huge
one there as well. That was
maybe the funnest moment
of the top ten.
Yeah, he's going through his phone. He's doing
Candy Crush and here's his name from the podium.
What? Did they say my name?
It's like, page.
The third overall shit.
This can't be happening.
Yeah.
Amazing.
Imagine if he was in the John.
Oh, God.
He's like, yeah, probably, I think somewhere seven to 12.
I better get this piss out of the way.
Lots time, yeah.
Lots of stuff.
And not to blow up his, but Corey Sarich, and he tells a story about when he got drafted,
all his parents, they'd gone to get popcorn and take a leak.
A place to us like Corey Sarge from the hospital.
He's sitting by himself.
I guess I'll just go down there.
Dad.
Your dad's taking a link.
Son of a bitch.
Wait for it your whole life, your kid to get drafted.
You can just team all my brine.
You need it.
the popcorn, didn't you, Harold?
I told you.
A carrie was going to go.
Peter, you don't need extra butter.
You're out the urinal.
Just, oh, dear.
Oh, Peter!
You blew it.
The concession lady took the, took the payment and went to get the pop.
Oh, I got a pop a new batch.
If you just wait, we'll have some fresh, fresh.
Two minutes.
You get you fresh.
Fresh bag.
Yeah.
We can wait for fresh, right, honey?
Ooh, I like fresh.
Yeah, yeah.
Another half hour probably took, oh shit, that's his name.
Come sit back down.
Where Corey went.
We must went for a piss too.
I was in the bathroom.
I would have thought he could see him on the floor.
Shit.
He says he's on the floor.
Oh, no.
We love guys getting paid to not work.
That is absolutely.
Monty Williams a couple of weeks ago was that a $70 million
buyout he had?
And that was like two years after getting a $20 million dollar biote.
he was the NBA coach.
Like, who guys doing work.
Who was the other one,
Jimbo Fisher down in NCAA football?
Not quite as good because he is working,
but Alvarekman Larsman is going to collect
paycheck from three different teams this year.
So the original deal was signed by the coyotes,
eight times eight.
Phoenix had to eat a small percentage of it
to get it down to like six and change,
so it was a little more palable for Vancouver.
So they are paying a portion of it.
Vancouver bottom out.
So they owe them.
the remainder of the buyout that Utah isn't paying.
And Toronto just signed up for three and a half.
That is some really good stuff.
And we're on the brink of something even more special.
Ryan Suter has now been bought out twice.
And he's getting two different buyouts.
One from Dallas, one from Minnesota.
He could also jump back into the player pool.
Maybe I didn't think I saw him sign anywhere.
Probably a one year.
Not yet.
Yeah, he could join that group.
That's the La Cavillier special.
Unbelievable.
What a double dip that is.
Got bought out by Tampa Bay, signed in Philly.
They bought him out.
then signed in LA.
And don't forget,
not just signed.
Yeah,
this was not league minimum bullshit.
Yeah.
Monster deals.
Vinnie did well.
Vinnie's probably a top five
like earning of all time guy
and he's definitely not a top five player of all time.
And that was great because remember it was kind of the
unspoken thing.
We will,
we will sign you in LA.
We will sign you so long as you retire at the end of the season.
Right.
We cannot have any cap overages.
We can't have any shit hanging over.
So we will sign you for this year,
but sign here in blood that you're quitting at the end of the season.
And sure enough, he did.
July 1 was crazy over a billion dollars spent.
You guys covered it on Tuesday,
but I still feel like the one thing we're going to remember the day for
was the day that, well, Stephen Stamco's wasn't a lightning anymore,
which is odd because he's good there.
I mean, if you like franchise leader in games, goals, points,
crossbars.
Devis strength goals.
This is like Marlow stuff, right?
He just accumulates stuff over time.
Rop around goals.
Deflected goals.
Tipping goals.
Slapshot goals.
Snapshot goals.
Wrist shot goals.
Drawn penalties, crossbars, posts, hits,
shots, game winners.
Overtime, Powerpoint, power plate goal.
Yeah.
No one likes a bragger, Steve.
No one likes a bragger.
You got some work to do, cooch.
Get her going, bud.
Get her going.
Uh, senators, we talked about it.
Zane Perrick, Z.
William and Sam Dickinson all on the board at pick number seven where they surprised the hockey world.
I don't think Carter Yakubchuk's a bad pick.
I don't have a problem with teams drafting Carter,
Jack, there's all kinds of stuff to dream on there with the way he plays.
This sends live stream felt differently.
Let's have a watch.
Pick seven.
Fuck!
Carter Yakumchuck.
You fucking kidding me!
Fucking Pierre over again!
Fuck!
How do you feel about the pick?
Fuck!
Jesus, I got...
Don't laugh at him.
Oh, my fucking God!
Great flaw.
Carter Yakim Chalko and seventh overall to the Ottawa Senators.
That was the Hunter Smith pick for me.
And Kegan Kansi, by the way, if you needed that.
Not at seven.
Change the footage.
No, definitely not at seven.
Also, not the second round.
I hope he sticks it right in that guys, took us.
Yeah.
I think it'll be a good defense, man.
well, too. 30 goals, fights, right
shot, big, what are we talking about here?
Like, is it,
it was one of the three defensemen behind him
going to be better than maybe, but that's still a really nice
prospect. And what happens if they
take Z. Boyum, is he pulling his hog out
and just like, would that
have made his day? Like, come on.
It's not like they went right off the board.
Podcasting tips with Dean.
Don't pull your hog out. These podcasters,
just a bunch of dummies.
You know, and getting on YouTube and
just saying a bunch of dumb stuff. Maybe.
maybe if you were a real professional,
you'd be in the mainstream media.
Maybe you'd have been at, you know,
maybe you'd have been there.
You know,
sitting in the, you know,
the harvest moon in and roblin,
Manitoba,
sitting that, you know,
can't get your goddamn internet working when you're in,
you know,
we can see you,
but we can't hear you.
We can't hear you,
we can't see you.
Hello?
Yeah.
Hello?
Class it up, fellas.
Classless right there.
Now, a better draft interaction was this one as,
well nearly a flame but never even close to a flame tigginla meets marshaun lynch two of our favorite humans let's have a watch
marshan is on tuesday with the most points among all
yes not many guys eighteenth brooky of the year and best
of opportunity not much on tis has him struck out yes
Not many guys intimidate Marshawn Lynch, but there he was like, geez, damn.
He got some long ass.
Got some long ass arm.
Throw him that long arm.
What's going on?
Oh, it hurts to watch.
He's such a, you know, he's a dynamic kid.
He's going to be great.
He's great for them.
Hey, he'll add him foxes his way back to the city.
He hasn't lived in since he was six, right?
No.
Never see him again.
Oh, he's a good Canadian boy.
Like, grade one in Boston or two?
Yeah, he definitely has a vacation home in Canada.
Dougie Hamilton helped the New Jersey Devils with a schedule release.
It's a little long.
We can cut it where we need to, but Dougie Hamilton schedule release acting is pretty damn good.
The devil's crushed this.
Hello, class.
I'm Professor Douglas D. Admin.
Welcome to today's geography class.
Let's get started.
Pennsylvania, home of...
of the penguins and the flyers.
Penguins have wings but can't fly.
Flyers have wings but aren't a real thing.
Nothing in this state makes sense.
New York City, home of the New York Times,
who once voted the best pizza in New York to be from Raza,
which like the Statue of Liberty is in New Jersey.
This is Ohio.
Even this map can't get it right.
This little fish stick strip of land is long
Island pronounced Lawn Gai Land. Their main exports are Billy Joel, accents, and a super
creative hockey team name. This is North Carolina. They have the fourth most
hurricanes and a very large population of big cats. This is Florida. They have the
most hurricanes. So really the Florida Panthers should be the hurricanes and
the hurricanes should be the Panthers. But that would be confusing with the
University of Miami Hurricanes and the Carolina Panthers.
Who wrote this?
Goodbye.
Flames, everywhere.
Washington, D.C.
Yeah.
Vancouver.
We got ex-Kinnuck, Curtis Lizarre.
How do we not want to win this game for that guy?
Laser is just a really genuine person.
He is really the nicest, funniest guy on the team.
Also, he's very humble and handsome.
Did you write this?
Arizona, the desert in the west.
Utah.
Utah.
I don't know anything about Utah.
Let me know when you had enough.
It's just gone.
Let me roll.
Check you.
Here it is.
Can you see it?
We're gonna be playing hockey here in October.
Can you see Polly's house?
There it is.
There it is.
There it is.
There it is.
New Jersey.
Sorry.
It's just so beautiful and perfect.
I just, I can't.
I might need a minute.
Hey man, it's okay.
We all love New Jersey.
I get it.
Like, I got to go get Owen from daycare.
He's getting out in 30 minutes.
So hold together, you'll get through the rest.
Good luck.
Okay, I got it.
I got it.
Like through the lens.
New Jersey.
The home of our home opener.
And that concludes the 24, 25,
New Jersey Devils schedule of release.
That's quite wonderful.
How about, Maggie?
What's going on?
So here was, because I saw that come out, and it is very good.
And I've seen him do some stuff like this where, you know, he's shown to be clever.
Funny.
Was everyone here wrong about this guy?
Because he was supposedly, you know, standoffish and cold and just wanted to go to museums and didn't like yucks or hanging out with people.
when does the male
human brain reached its peak rest
25 is fully mature
25 Dean 25
you get a long way to go with those kids
so like
it's possible that everyone else
kind of wrong about this guy
a hell of a good player you know
no debate about that
I think he
I've maybe some Peyton Manning vibes
a little bit of that plays the nerd well
funny dry sense of humor
okay having some
fun, you know, having some fun at his own expense, that sort of thing.
Hmm.
Doesn't seem like a guy who's no, you know, no shits and giggles.
It's kind of feels like he's very much in the shits and giggles.
This is not shits and giggles.
This is a very serious matter.
Someone mind this off the internet.
Rhett, I need your full attention here because I'm not sure if you remember this.
Here we go.
Lindsay's still with it.
Wood checks into the ice.
Hodgers trying to get the buck away from Lindsay.
It's underneath him and we've got a quick whistle.
Now, Odgers going with one of the Panthers,
and he just may have killed Flores Warner.
Todd Warner.
Todd!
Yeah, Todd, you're going to be right there.
Todd's an idiot.
He doesn't know Jeff Rogers' reputation.
He doesn't know.
He's a young kid in this league, and he may have picked on the wrong guy right there.
Warner's 19 years of age and he dropped them.
Took a pretty solid right hand to the cheek.
You see right there.
Wondering of everything's still in there.
Here's these scrum along.
He's cross-checking my boy, Chile.
Everybody going out right to the right of your screen.
There you see him go out.
And now watch the right hand of Jeff Rogers.
Right there.
Yeah, that's one.
He watched it all right.
Hit him.
Watch him hit it right in the button.
God.
So when you see Todd, you talk to him about that a bunch or what?
Yeah, that's nice.
I wish them all the best of the CTE.
and yeah.
Ryan,
now what is the relevance of that clip?
Why did,
why does that make
the Pinder Report today?
Having fun at our,
at our friend's expense.
Well, it segues beautifully
into the,
uh,
crocodiles,
like frogs.
Yeah,
I don't know,
Dean.
This just feels like kind of a gratuitous shot,
you know,
for the,
I just thought,
you know,
Red always gets confused for Todd.
Maybe he'd have some insights
as to what happened to Todd there.
Let's move along,
shall we?
Love it.
Uh,
Calgary Surgeon in action last night.
A big lead.
Target score, right?
Unless she ends right.
A few minutes.
Oh,
they blew it.
What?
God damn it.
The honey badgers beat them.
Oh.
Those honey badgers,
they don't give up.
That's what I'm told.
They didn't.
They were behind.
They didn't quit.
108 105 the final.
What's next for the surge?
They're in Niagara tonight.
Edmonton on the ninth and then back to Calgary and the 11th when they faced this.
Vancouver,
right.
Dean,
the Vancouver,
the Vancouver.
Dope smokers.
The Vancouver dope smokers.
Yes.
We're known for the.
their creative plays and, well, fall flat in the second half.
Lose their legs a bit.
Elsewhere on the local sports scene stamps, it's stampede, so they get them the hell out of town.
A, yeah, want to keep them sober.
B, can't get hotels for the visiting team.
So they'll be in Montreal for their annual loss to the Alouettes.
Last seven years in Montreal and one of who guessed the record of the stamps.
This was a classic soft spot for this Bolivai and Beyond.
Yeah, two, five.
One and six, including a season where they had 14 wins and the owls had three.
Hoof.
And it kind of works the other way too.
You might as well stay in Calgary and go to Stampede as opposed to the strippers in Montreal.
Can't do it though because they're used too much water.
Too much water.
We got to get them out because other people are coming in to balance out the water
concern.
That's true.
Yeah. Dave Dickinson, big water drinker.
He's not a water dodger.
He's very healthy.
He's a hydriter.
Yeah, he really is.
So get that water.
pig out of town because Saturday the scheduled loss at Montreal next week in
Winnipeg then they're home as for Cavalry FC they fell on Canada Day in Halifax they're in
Winnipeg this Sunday and then back at home on the 13th against York
so everyone's just clearing out for Stampede letting Stampede have all the
limelight here right well they run the city and the province thanks for fixing the weather
yeah the weather and the weather they built this city yeah on rock and roll
Chuck wagons and
Topless girls at the Cowboys tent
Right
Oh great song
$12 beer
Yeah
Guess Miss Ozzy's when I'm not doing the Pinda Report
I'm gone
We didn't get our Aussie content
You don't know
We absolutely did
As my mother-in-law say
Oh it's chock block
Which means we're full
Chocke block
We tied the kangaroo down sport
And had wallabies and
Yeah
All kinds of stuff
Just Ozzy Brad and some pals hanging out on a hot day.
Look at this.
That's how you do it on a hot day right before it.
Brax some beers.
It doesn't really look like a hot day necessarily.
We don't know that it is or isn't.
Who's the same?
Human.
They seem very excited about all that dirty gutter walking.
Keep your finger over the bottle, right?
Yeah.
I swear, I feel like I've done that at some point.
That just, that feels like,
the dumb stuff we would have done in a small town.
Yeah, I agree.
Speaking of splashes, one entire offensive line tried to get on a splash mountainy type ride.
Let's have a view of this.
First off, seatbelt issues.
They're trying to get the linemen in here.
They go, pull the, pull, suck it in it.
They got it.
They got the seatbelt.
Now we can let the party begin.
They let them go with no doubt.
three balls a guy
one, two, three, four.
Hold on!
Oh, no.
Oh, man.
Do you guys have more fun than the O-line?
Because, like, you know,
they're not necessarily the most popular,
not the most pretty.
They're just out there being huge humans,
having fun, eating together.
They know the role.
They're the best.
Just beauties.
The best guys.
You never lose them at Stampede?
Did you say, we'll meet at Bender at half an hour?
That's right.
Easy.
Perfect time here to be friends with an old alignment, I tell you.
A new banger for the summer, new song.
This guy might have been an old lineman.
Make sure you download this on Spotify.
Here we go.
That's what we do.
We bring the boom.
I like that you shot at Costco too, Dean.
Yes.
You know, maybe they can throw some love your way.
Get a little exposure.
We don't do those sorts of things for free.
I think it's a little presumptuous to think that we weren't compensated.
Right, of course.
Yeah, it's kind of like the
Querval Gold Moghery.
Like you can pay for that drop.
There's no way you're not.
They call him big justice because that's what he serves.
That's right.
So you like the two bangor, right?
That's your move.
It's not the barrel of frogs that you like to.
Those days are kind of behind me, right?
I can't do the two banger anymore, but it was.
Oh, boy, what's this?
This is a barrel of frogs.
I know you're at the farmer's market the other day, Dean.
what are you cooking here?
Is this a lot of...
Those frogs?
Maybe those are rats.
I could be way off.
So great to have you back.
What are those, Dean?
And what are you cooking?
The demo clear out is on now.
Village is ready to...
Now, everyone loves a good exterminator, Dean,
and that's why a lot of people keep cats
because they won't allow vermin to live in your house.
You and dogs can try to help.
Look at the wonderful job they're doing here.
You guys, somebody get the fucking.
He's literally not scared of any of you.
Come on, cat.
Swap that thing.
Because of a golden retriever.
A retriever's not going to do anything.
He's more scared of the most.
That's as domesticated as a cat can get you.
Friends of the dog and you're not even chasing him out.
That's embarrassing.
Tom and Jerry right there.
They're buddies.
Brutal.
Just brutal.
Embarrassing.
Hey, you want some cheese or something?
That gets out to the union.
Those guys are in big trouble.
Big trouble.
Been a while since we checked him some crocodiles.
Let's check that out, Dino.
Here we go.
Looks like this is a cock on gator thing.
I think are cock on crock.
Is that what we got here?
Confident.
Patience.
It's a good laugh, too.
What a giggle.
Now, I like shotgun and beers.
I talk about the shotgun game, shotgun and beers.
A lot of shotgun today.
I've never done a crocodile shotgun.
This is how you do it here, Dean, or gator shotgun.
Depends where you are, whether you're in Australia or you're in Florida, but here's how it goes.
Splash the water.
I'm not sure we've had more dumb male behavior on a Pinder report than we have today.
Good to be back.
It's outstanding.
Very good to be back.
Hey, Pat, give you the crock.
I'm thirsty.
I've got good news.
I've got some horrible female behavior coming up.
But first, well, just food.
You're a foodie.
It's the kitchen show.
I don't know when you're debuting it.
I can't wait for it to be a hit.
This guy's smoking snake.
Hermes Pythine.
We're doing it like this.
Smoke to perfection.
Look at that color.
Look at that color.
We can smoke anything around here.
Here we go.
We're about the seasoning now.
We got some of that all-purpose smoke, Royal.
The MVP.
A whole lot of food.
flavor AC barbecue.
We're about to go in heavy with it.
We're already done smoked it.
Now we're about to deep fried.
Deep fried snake.
Smoke, seed into perfection,
and baptizing that grease.
We'll get this down south right here.
Not bad, huh?
Well, is it a hoax or are they actually excited to eat that?
It's meat?
Probably tastes close to chicken.
That's what we usually hear about all these animals who don't eat.
It's kind of like chicken.
It doesn't look like they're,
like that's not a third world situation.
I don't know.
I feel like they could go to the,
you know,
the hillbilly martin grab some ground beef or some chicken or something.
Yeah,
that's not going viral.
That doesn't get you on the Pind Report, Dean.
And he did,
did you see his t-shirt?
I think he says husky but handsome.
Mm-hmm.
That's a good barbecue shirt right there.
Finally, things got a little out of control on a cardin-up cruise ship.
Carnival? Carnival, not Cardinal.
Apparently, there were some drunk chicks from Tampa,
and when this guy who was hammered at 3 a.m.
came for a late-night slice of Zah,
got the footage and did us a solid by narrating the action.
The play-by-play is tremendous.
Back up, my man. Back up. Back up. It's going down.
Hey. Oh, shit.
Welcome to the motherfucking cruise.
No, no, not me, man. Hold on shit.
Oh, shit.
There's go.
There's gone.
God damn.
Welcome to the cruise.
Oh, shit.
Come on, man.
God damn.
I'm trying to have a continental breakfast.
God damn.
God damn.
God.
Get him, homie.
I got fucked up.
I just want some pizza.
What a pizza I know?
Let them know.
Where a pizza is a...
I think it's great.
when you could get in there and try and break it up and these ladies get on with their night
or you could just got you could goddamn your way through the whole thing.
I like there was one.
There was one of the females in the white shirt where she was just like raining down lefts
and right.
Just absolutely smashing down.
Chicks fighting is vicious.
Yeah.
Like it's hair pulling.
It's claws.
It's, look out.
Decent.
Drunk chicks from Tampa.
Look out.
That's your Pinned report.
You're going on a cruise?
Yeah.
Are you going to cruise?
God damn.
Careful with that late night slice, do you know?
You just bring it, put it in your fridge in your room.
Whole pizza.
Ah, the village Honda demo clearout is on now.
Village, they're going to move on from their 2024 demo models.
You could save hundreds, even thousands of dollars on these vehicles.
They're like new.
They've been in fine-toothed comb that take extremely good care of because it's their vehicles.
They want to show the public.
public, how quality these vehicles are.
It's an unbelievable opportunity, low mileage, and of course, the savings are great as well.
Check them out online. Better yet, go to your dealership for life.
They're located in the Northwest Automall and online at village honda.com.
Yeah.
Have you guys ever done a cruise?
Anyone? Anyone?
No.
Wasn't good.
No.
Went with a person.
I was, I should probably not have been.
bunked up with like a team was it jeff auders
just kept punching me right in the warner
tom warner that's someone to take some punches for you yeah
it was an on and off again relationship and yeah an on and off again relationship
continues when you get on the cruise i was going to say you can't really get on and off at
that high of a frequency it's very small windows to get off and they do have to get back
on unless you just say,
nah, I'm good in
Tulaquaca, Mexico.

Summer soccer continues, boys.
It's been a lot of fun watching Euro and Copa America.
We'll look at Copa America here as Euro is taking a little pause before they resume tomorrow with Germany and Spain.
It should be an absolute banger.
Argentina plays Ecuador, which is spelled wrong there, Jack.
Good work.
Argentina minus the goal in regulation.
So if it goes to extra time, you're hooped.
Stoppage time is fine, but extra time's not.
Argentina minus 1 is the line plus 140.
We like that.
Messy may or may not play, but I'm not too worried.
There's a huge talent gap between the Argentinians
and whatever you call someone from Ecuador.
Venezuela, Canada, that's tomorrow night from the house that Jarrah built,
AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Canada, regulation, move to the semis, plus 190.
Let's go, Jesse Marsh.

Sudbury.
Yeah.
That's what I was going to say.
Yeah.
Oklahoma.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just some comments from the show from the show today.
Just kind of cherry picking along the way.
How is Pinder married?
That was from early on in the show.
I'd see.
It's a touch and go.
That's how I'm married.
Yeah.
I mean, check back.
Yeah,
let's see out of all.
Yeah, check in later today.
Things,
it's a fluid situation.
You never know.
Brad says,
Pinder picks and chooses.
He's been pushing for Wolf saying
he's the best ever
and the Russian kid is only a good H.
No,
I think they're both going to be good NHLs,
but I was just saying you don't know
about a guy until he's done it in the NHL.
Listen,
don't know.
I think Wolf's a great prospect.
See what he is at the NHL.
We know he's been dominant every other level.
And part of your point was you're talking about Nashville.
They're trying to be good.
They're playoffbound.
They're in that kind of do you want to now go away from your goalie who's very good
or hand the reins right to an unproven guy?
Flames, different arc.
Very different.
Totally different.
Yeah.
You want that top 10 picked, you know.
Geotuber's wants to know about the cat's names.
I believe it was Chubs and Smokey.
I believe it was Chubber.
Chubs and Smokey.
I got those details at the time.
The cat's name.
And, uh, Rhett, you'll be able to relate to this.
Phil says, try hiding from a one night stand on a boat.
Oh, dear.
Yeah, it's not a, not a great place to,
although it might be a great place.
Yeah, find one you don't want to hide from.
That's the move on the cruise ship.
Yeah, sure.
What happens?
What stays on the boat, right?
You know, not.
No rules here.
No rules.
gamble
Jack
Hello
Road trip
Are you getting
Are you fueling up
And are you hitting the road?
Yeah my buddy with
Lakefront properties
Can get the phone call
I haven't committed yet
You are committed
What are you talking about?
What are you doing?
Show up?
Yes
Yes
I mean you need to tell your better half
What's going on
But she's going to be supportive
When you have the chance
To high tail it to America
Is that how that
works. Yeah, because it's America Day and you're American. Well, if it's not supportive now,
do you think it's going to improve down the road? No. Good time. Send. Just do it. Establish
some standards. She can be sour at you and you can be sitting, you know, in your apartment
or she can be sour at you. Stampie party. That would suck. And you're rip roaring shit faced.
Yeah. Right, Rhett? That's right, Dan. Montana. Let's go. There's only one choice.
It's clear.
Canadian at par at the bulldog anymore.
It's sad. It's clear.
Still grip place.
Do we want to lay out the schedule?
What's, because I think there will be some people who are maybe watching right now
or we'll be, that don't know what we're doing.
Red also doesn't know the schedule.
So by all.
It's helpful for everyone.
Yeah, I mean, we're all taking pen in hand here.
Right.
You need a pen?
No, it doesn't have pen.
Oh, I remember everything.
Yeah, steel traps.
That's right.
What was?
what was the text?
I loved it because it was like...
What are we doing shows?
Something like that.
Fucking Warner.
Like, Jesus.
Hey, great attendance this week.
What's planned for rest of week?
Me got him, peace bite.
Smoke them if got them.
What's plan for rest week?
We're doing Tuesdays and Thursdays, buddies.
Let's do it.
Look.
we're not that funny.
We're not that great.
We've had so much of us,
it's the best for everybody.
Five days of us still.
It's too much.
We need to break.
You don't deserve that kind of
horrible treatment.
Popping on Tuesdays and Thursdays
we'll have something for you.
It could be this,
you know, it might be two,
two guys, or whatever,
or it might be a,
you know, the summer vacation edition of Barnburner.
Maybe you sit down with a guest,
maybe two guests,
stuff that we could obviously do
during the course of the hockey season,
but it's usually, it's game day, it's off day.
We've got a lot of things going on,
an opportunity to really throw on the breaks
and just sit out and have a great chat,
have a conversation, have a little visit,
get into some, maybe get into some real life stuff.
So that's what's going to be coming up
over the course of the next few weeks
and dare I say months,
because it's summer.
All right?
Vitamin D.
Yeah.
Vitamin Dean.
So I don't know what next week looks like.
Do we know what next week looks like?
Let's do shows next week.
All right.
At least one, maybe.
Yeah.
Maybe do a soup draft.
Not that.
Try, yeah.
Not that.
I mean, it's not,
if it's going to be that hot,
it's not really soup weather.
That's the problem.
I'm looking too.
You need a lockout in a cold winter for a soup.
Spacho?
Because it's just going to say gazpacho is kind of the cold.
It's,
I don't keep you get you.
If you have me over and you try to serve me to gazpacho,
I'm going to pretend to spill it right on your fancy linen.
Just like when I bought you the street meet in Mexico,
I got like threw it up.
Yeah, no, it didn't suffer like you didn't sit on toilet.
The next two days advantage of stress.
No,
you would think it was rude.
It was absolutely the right thing.
Savvy as hell.
Yeah.
I was like,
he just spent his hard.
That man,
that's his labor of love and you just threw it on the ground.
It's a heavy play.
You didn't sit your pants for two days.
Nice.
Heady play, for sure.
Heady play.
this first show.
Bodies, we appreciate you.
You see Origin up at the top there.
Mm-hmm.
They've got their birthday party out in Strathmore coming up.
Go to their website.
Origin season, Dino.
This is Origin season, Barnburn,
Bounder, Blonde.
August 2nd, I believe, is the date.
They got the tent set up.
Drew Gregory, going to be on stage.
They got live bands, live music.
They got the tub full of Origin beers.
They got the ice teas going in there as well.
So check that out and see if you can fit that into your plans as it's a banger.
And it's coming up.
We're less than a month away from that.
Our buddies at origin taking good care of you.
Don't remember, don't forget.
It's the barn burner.
It's the barn burner summer.
Barn burner blondes.
Take your picks.
We'll put them on the show.
That's right.
Send us your photos.
We'll put you on the show.
If they're not,
if they're not selling the barn burner blondes and the origin,
go in there.
Excuse me.
Take your gazpacho and throw it right.
on them and say, I need some origin beers, dude.
Let's go here.
I got to do to get some barn burner blonde.
What are we doing here?
What are we doing here?
Have a great weekend, everybody.
Be safe.
We'll catch up next week.
Can't wait for the fireworks show next week.
It's going to be awesome.
So good.
Jack, enjoy, buddy.
See you, buddy.
Oilers suck.
Yeah.
