And away we go, welcome to a Wednesday edition, the March 20th version of Barnburner.
Happy 320, everyone.
Who!
What the hell is three?
I'm getting accosted on all sides.
Did you get a coffee?
I got a coffee.
What else happened?
Any incidents happen?
Well, everything's good.
I'm confirmed.
Yes, welcome to the program here is, uh, now apparently, spoiler alert.
The three of us are all at different locations.
It's all right.
Ryan is in Mardaloup.
I am at home.
Rett is at home as well in Buffalo.
Yet I believe it's snowing.
where all of us are separately.
Well, but hang on.
What about Jack?
Where's Jack?
And what do we know?
Jack?
Jack so high, it's been snowing for years in his world.
Yeah, just.
Yeah, he's just full on 320.
All that sugar.
Into it.
Yeah.
It's always snowing around.
Jack, where are you?
I can.
I'm all set home.
What?
What?
Safety first, Rhett.
I guess when you're the boss, you just do is there damn well, please.
Yeah.
whatever you want. Yeah, do whatever you want.
Coming up in a matter of moments, he will drop in. He is Jamie McLennan, our
Wednesday guest. What do we call him? He's on the insider hotline for
Tell us. Is he an insider? Is he an analyst? Is he an opinionist?
He's a friend of the show. Friend of the show, indeed. Is he a pundit?
Not sure. What's that, what would you call a good storyteller? Like a real.
He knows how to spin a yarn, you know?
Orator.
Yeah.
He's a,
he's a good guy,
you know.
Yeah.
How did Jack climb the corporate ladder so fast?
It's amazing,
isn't it?
It's very corporate ladder.
I didn't know this man a year ago and all of a sudden he's.
Yeah.
The Barnburner corporate ladder.
How many rungs are on that ladder?
I think it's not.
We're all afraid of heights.
While we've seen enough Pinda report ladders,
we don't want anything to do with more than ones.
I'm sure how many,
how long it takes to ascend.
We got some whipped cream on that thing.
What do you got there today?
What's the coffee-old choice?
That's all I drink.
Coffee.
Good.
All right.
I'd be remiss if we didn't say condolences to Chris Simon's family as we lose Chris Simon yesterday.
Former teammate of yours, Rhett, beloved by many around the National Hockey League,
in the game, outside of the game, he was, I mean, he was, you knew when he was around.
I remember the first time, just seeing him.
him with the long hair beyond shoulder length for the Colorado Avalanche.
It's like, this guy is frightening.
I've always wanted to play in the NHL, but not now if he's on the ice because he was a
fearsome customer.
And I guess that's what it is.
When you're willing to defend your teammates and your friends like that, you're going
to have a lot of friends in the game, but even outside of that, a lot of condolences coming
from the hockey world.
And I know that'd be tough for you to see as well, Retro.
It's, well, I'll be honest, it's a little tough to talk about.
Yeah.
It's not something you want to hear.
Do you have a favorite Chris Simon anecdote?
Do you remember him arriving?
Because he was a pre-deadline addition to that 0304 team, wasn't he?
He was just a good person.
Yeah.
He was a good person with that big booming voice of his.
Well, well loved in the room.
So condolences, uh, shitty as Chris Simon passing away yesterday.
A bunch of games in the NHL last night.
We'll get into some of them.
Some will save for when we get our orator on in a matter of moments on the Telos Insider.
Let's just go friend of the show.
I think that's it.
But interesting to watch is the Jets and Rangers,
they hooked up in a doozy last night.
And Mark Schifley Hat Trick moves the Jets into tops and the central.
And points percentage, because you know we love points percentage.
That's don't if that matters.
Yeah.
First in the West.
That's quite something because the Vancouver's also picked up a win last night.
Correct.
So how about it?
How about it?
And they are celebrating with pickerel fillets and whiskey in downtown Winnipeg.
That's the only way I would think that you would celebrate at this time of year.
We'll bring in our boy.
Some vodka.
We'll bring him in.
Vodka.

We welcome.
Jamie McClennan.
There he is.
The well-traveled Jamie McClennan.
We always worry about you.
Where's noodles today?
Is he in an airport?
Is he on a plane?
Is he in Tampa?
Is he in Ottawa?
Where are Toronto?
It's just hard to keep up with you.
You're right.
I was in Boston last night,
called the game and flew back this morning,
and I have to fly to Edmonton tonight to, what?
Why did the hell didn't Jacques throw the flag?
Wasn't that offside?
Which goal?
I mean, I lost track.
The third goal.
Pastor Knox third or Boston's third?
The one that made it three nothing?
The third made it three to one late in the second.
the guy's foot was off the ground.
It looked clearly offside to me.
I don't know the rule, maybe, but.
Well, the foot doesn't have to be on the ice anymore.
It was on side.
I know which is all you're talking about now.
It's like, what do you, like I've been sitting there going,
yeah, I mean, when you're in broadcasting and you have to go which goal,
that's what's concerning because it's been a rough ride.
Man.
The last couple games where, you know, Ottawa's been right in it.
Played well against Carolina for two periods.
And then Carolina just flexed their muscle in the third the other night
and took him to the Woodshed 7-2.
Last night, it was the Posternach show.
This guy was on another plan.
He was running guys on the forecheck.
He was, you know, stealing pucks defensively.
He just on another level.
You're right.
I know which goal you're talking about, right?
But I think it was on side.
His leg was in the air, but it was over the plane of the blue line.
Yeah.
So the plane and the good call.
Yeah.
But it's a plane.
But it's, I've been, like you mentioned, well-traveled.
Yes, I was in, you know, Calgary there, flew back, Anaheim, L.A.
And then I was in Ottawa, Columbus, New York, Ottawa, then into Boston, and then flew back here this morning.
Now, I know you're a cheap bastard.
Are you flying that much because you just want the points and the gold, the platinum level?
Super elite from Air Canada?
Yeah.
I mean, it's not like, it's my job.
If I could call it off a TV off a monitor from my couch, I would.
Don't say that.
Careful.
I don't.
I don't say that.
You've seen it here.
We don't want that to be honest.
We want people in the building because it's better to be at morning skate, to talk to people,
to be visible in the room, all of that type of stuff.
So honestly, I don't mind the travel.
It's just a tough part of the schedule right now.
because first part of February,
I was nailed to my couch for two weeks,
just working out of studio
and doing my thing here in Toronto.
So I'm fine with it.
You know, because we have regional rights,
we are done April 17th or whatever it is.
So we don't have any playoff games to call.
So I will be in studio and harassing you guys
once a week, hopefully.
I got a bone to pick with your studio there.
Jack, can we go full screen on noodles here?
I mean, I don't know when you walk down the streets, people say, oh, you're the guy from that TV show.
I remember you playing.
Look at the background here.
There is nothing flames here.
What the hell is going on, noodles?
Yeah, well, you're not sitting over there.
Come on.
You want me to sit over on the Calgary side then?
At least for us.
I mean, I just, come on now.
The blues.
I don't remember you.
Let me see if the cord will stretch.
Now, you never wore that style of jersey.
That's, I mean, what are we doing here?
I, what do you mean?
I like this.
They did.
That one's a good jersey.
I wore that.
It was in the picture, Dave.
That's him right there.
No, I understand.
I'm saying the font and the numbers.
That's a rare performance.
See, there's a net behind me.
That's a rare performance.
Box not in it?
Okay.
Okay, we got it.
It's very good.
Shoot, what was I going to say?
Anyway, we'll move on.
I had a little something here.
It started bubbling yesterday afternoon as the Philadelphia Flyers.
They've been an impressive story.
John Torterella's got them.
on. He's talking to report. He's not talking to reporters. This and that yesterday.
Sean Couturier, healthy scratch at Morning Skate. He's not going to play in a big game against Toronto
last night. Here is Couturier post-morning skate and then John Tortorella post-game.
Yeah, it's tough. I feel I've been putting the work in for a while. I don't know. I've been struggling
trying to work on my game. So definitely frustrated the way
the way I've been treated around, I guess, but lately, but
is what it is.
Not answering your question. Next question.
John, was there any effect, do you think, with pulling Sean Couture
from the lineup? What were you looking for from the team by making that one?
As I told you, I'm putting the players out on the ice to win a particular game,
and these were the 20 that we decided to go with.
I'm not talking on Sean. I'm not debating with you. I'm not conversing
that's between Sean and I.
So just talk to me about the game, guys.
Sean was out, how do you think the team responded, especially?
It has nothing to do with Sean being out.
You're asking me about the team?
How do they respond in your eyes?
Our team played good tonight.
So there's John with being John as he is.
There's part of it I wonder.
I think, I feel like he, it's kind of like Daryl almost in a way,
where he has to portray a character that he has himself come up with.
know that he always feels the need to be John Tortorella, but, you know, feels, but I have to
portray that. I think it's hard, isn't it? Have you, has there been a situation where a captain,
and not just a captain, but he, Couturier's been there for a long time. I would guess the longest
tenured flyer at this point. Then you, you sit him. He's upset. You feel you've done it for the
right reasons and all of that. I just wonder, how do you mend those fences? How do you come back together?
easier, like, than we think, or is it tough? I mean, you know what you see is what you get with
torts. Now, behind the scenes, I talk to a lot of guys. They love them. It's just, you know,
if you're in the fire, like we talk about Daryl all the time. There were days probably, I would
admit, I'm sure Rett you would admit to. Garrell wasn't, you know, your favorite person on that
particular moment or in that day. But when you look at the bigger picture, here's the one thing that
nobody was talking about. Philadelphia played a hell of a game and they won.
So maybe it was the right thing to sit, Couturee. It sends a message too. This is the one thing
that I'll keep coming back to is with the guys nowadays, the entitlement, how much money
they make, guaranteed contracts, all of that. The coach has one thing to take away, ice time.
That's all he has. You can't yell and scream. You can't do old school stuff like we,
you know, 20 years ago, you know, the threatening, all of that, the bullying, that's gone.
So you have one thing, you have ice time. And I watched Philly play the other day. Sean Cacurier defensively,
he's a, I mean, he's a hell of a player, a hell of a player. He's not been playing to his potential.
I watched him fire the puck over the glass defensively. I don't know what he was doing.
The one, the look on Torts his face is like, this guy doesn't have it right now. And it's unfortunate.
but I think it sends a message to everybody.
It's like if I sit the captain, I can sit everybody.
So I don't like to see it because I don't want to see Sean Couturey and waves and all of that.
But ultimately, he pressed the right button.
They won last night in a crucial game against a really good team.
So maybe that particular situation, he got it done.
I would say you probably don't want to do that nightly or weekly type of thing.
But in a one-off situation, I'll take it.
You can do it if you have the respect to the guys.
Yeah, and I was just going to say, like, this is very different than Pastor Vincent and Columbus.
Like, they're in a playoff spot.
They're playing well.
They've turned it around this year.
Coach has got a little rope.
The other situation is not that.
Yeah, I agree.
Like, I think timing is everything, though, too.
Now, because it's against Toronto, the Mecca, where you're going to have 530 reporters in the room and talking about it, you know, torts, it's a tough stage.
do it on. It's the biggest stage, you know, and it takes guts to do it. Again, it can backfire.
And I think that's what you're talking about, boomers. Does that backfire where it goes the other way?
And people are like, holy smokes, you lose the room. I don't think that's the case.
Now, a couple of years from now when they're tired of the act, maybe that's a different scenario.
But everything's a balancing act. And I think right now we press the right button.
I would love to see him put Couturier back in the lineup and play him 22 minutes next game.
and say, you know what, you watch from the press box,
let's see what you got now.
Because that would be the other thing,
because I wanted to,
you sit the guy,
and then your team plays well and gets a big win.
So as Kuturier sitting upstairs or in the back,
you know,
on the bike during the game,
and like, shit.
Well,
it's a challenge to the,
to Kutriere,
and it'll be interesting,
because he can go both ways.
The entitlement and the guaranteed conge,
that's still there.
He can go, no, I'm done with you,
bud.
I'm out.
You lost me.
But I think it'll be more interesting to see.
Does he come back?
Does he have a better effort?
Does he kind of, I don't know, told the line is the right,
but start to perform better?
That's going to be a Gatoria.
That's not a torterella thing.
Yeah.
I'd like to see that.
Like once in a while, we always talk about the people who do it.
I'd like to see, like, I'd like to see the player go, I need to be better.
I understand why I'm being scratched.
Like, you know, I need to be better.
Like, accept responsibility and say, you know, I haven't liked where my game's at either.
I'm trying.
And I think he did that.
Like, Petrure is a classy guy.
You can tell he was biting his lip.
You know, you can tell he was very measured.
But he said, you know, it is what it is.
Don't want to be a distraction.
You know, I guess he feels like the best team that he's going to put out there.
And, you know, they've got some young players that are players there.
You know, that tip, it's a player.
You know, he's going to be a really good, you know,
uh, connecti, the player, you know, Morgan Frost.
Like, they've got some guys that are kind of cycling through some younger players.
So just because you've got named captain, you know, it should give you a long leash,
but you still have to tow the line and you still have to be a, you know, an impact player nightly.
We can move on.
You just, I love to playing torts, whatever we can play torts.
But, but for sure.
And Tyson Forster is a young guy that's had a,
probably the second half of the season.
He's been very good.
So it would be hard for Coturiate to not be playing.
He's been so injured.
His body's probably not responding like it used to either to rehab
or to be on the ice and try and get results.
And you sit there and you see it.
I'm 31, but I think he's 31 years.
He feels like an old 31 with five years left on that deal at almost eight.
Look out.
How many, how many left?
Five.
Yeah.
He's got a bad back.
That's what scares me.
You know, he's got a bad.
And you're right.
He's a 31 year old, but he played at such a young age that he's got a lot of mileage.
Even if he's, you call him a Ferrari.
He's a Ferrari with 320,000 kilometers on him.
So, you know, you've got to make sure and maintenance the body there because, you know,
I still come back to.
I think he's a hell of a player in a bad pocket.
But let's see if this galvanizes the group.
They need something.
Is that team?
You know, they're on the cusp there.
Washington's sniffing around.
Washington plays Toronto tonight.
They're right on the cusp.
Detroit got a huge.
win last night, Buffalo sniffing around. Like it's, it's not a guaranteed position. And he knows it.
And Torrance is like Kramer. When they're coming around, he's sitting there like trying to, you know, go, go.
He's trying to get him over the line. So let's see what he's got. You kept making the stops?
They kept ringing the bell. Have you seen Winnipeg lately?
Yes. Man, they're structured. They're good. The goalie's good. Because I watched the highlights there this
morning and you've got Hellebuck making some big saves against that ranger's offense
shifley gets a hat trick and you think back it was not that long ago paul maurice walked out
this i'm not the right guy for this team this team in not so many words felt like it's fractured
you had wheeler that just everything seemed like it was kind of a mess and then you had
you had the coach at the end of the year kind of throwing them under the bus after the season
was over yeah they've done a pretty good job there obviously of
figuring out what needed to be done.
You get extensions in place, which I did not see coming for both the goalie and
Shifley wheelers out.
The coach returns, and it's, they're right there, tops in the west.
So tell us, when did you see them?
Oh, I saw them live a couple weeks ago.
I've watched them a lot.
They are kind of, I say this respectfully, they've been my nemesis the last three or
four years because I picked them to win.
Like I, I think they're a hell of a team.
And I watched them live.
a year ago in January.
And I remember having an argument on my show saying,
I think they're the best team in Canada.
Like they were better in Edmonton.
They were better in the Leafs.
And they just had the formula.
They had meanness.
They had everything.
And then they fell off a cliff and barely scraped into the playoffs.
Yeah.
And, you know, it was,
they were just rolling like slowly over the finish line.
But this year, you look at it.
And it's interesting, literally yesterday,
I'd somebody say to me in between periods yesterday, I'd go out and visit with scouts and stuff like that,
saying it's amazing how the team can be the same, you know, a lot of the same makeup,
but you take maybe one personality, one something, and the mix just changes.
And everybody finds a little different role, finds a little bit more expanded role.
I feel like that's happened in Winnipeg.
You know, Wheeler, whether as, you know, expiration date was up, you know, Pierre-Luc Dubois,
didn't want to be there.
You know, those are the, that's really, if you look at it, it's the same team,
but you took two pieces out and then you added in a couple young players.
Valardi's a really nice player.
I have fellows, a good player.
And that's it.
And the goalie and trifly committed.
That's the big one for me.
You got rid of that looming and hanging over the team.
It was, we'll move you or commit.
And they both committed and the headaches were gone in the form of Wheeler Dubois.
They just look at, if they're a body, they look like a healthy body, where maybe before there was something that was nagging them that needed cutting out or needed some surgery.
But it was like for me, they look like a healthy body.
They play well together.
They stand up for each other.
They got a little bit of everything.
They've got some bites and toughness.
They've got some top end skill.
They've got the best goalie in the league.
So he's going to give you a chance every night.
Like I don't see a lot of weakness in that lineup.
And I love the move at the deadline to fully, you know, you guys know.
To Foley, like it's a, and Monaghan, like those are two little grabs there that add some skill
levels, some depth, some, some, you know, veteran savvy to a group that already has some veteran
there. So I think Chevy's done a great job. Not to, I mean, it's, it's massive when you look at
it. It's because Winnipeg, I would guess, is on every guy's no trade list. If you go in with guys,
if they've got those lists, no one's going to Winnipeg. Right. Those two guys were waiting for
unrestricted free agency. Both guys could get paid,
picked their spot. They both picked Winnipeg.
Did they sacrifice money? I don't think so.
I think the money that they like I think the money that it's stay low.
They almost took a hometown discount. You've got Hellebuck,
the American guy staying in in Winnipeg.
How fortunate really shovel day off is that that came together.
And I, you need guys that want to play there.
So to have two marquee guys choose to stay there is, I don't know.
It sends a million it feels like.
For me, it sends the right message because we all talked about it this summer.
Shifley and Halebuck are gone.
Now what the hell is Kyle Connor thinking?
What's Nikolai Eilers thinking, you know, Josh Morrissey, guys who had committed going,
okay, my teammates are out of here.
Now we're going to do a semi-rebuild retool.
Shifley and Hellebuck commit it was almost like hey you know the bands back together
we're doing this guys we're we're the core here moving forward and the opposite's happening here
now you see the other side of it where the guys that were going to come up decided now we're not
staying we're going to leave yeah but I mean that's fine it's just it's this is different scenarios
and I think that the sign of Helibuck and Shifley are more important than than keeping
lend home in Calgary. Sure. Yeah. The other thing, like, I think they gave them overmarket to keep
them. And I think that's, it's not lucky for Shepardley off. It's a strategic move. And I think it's
smart. Like, like Mark Schifley's going to be 32 when a seven year contract kicks in.
We understand the bulk of those seven years. That's not going to be a value deal. But he needed to do
it because it kept this group together. If you could get the goal that always gives them a chance
and his scoring center back, okay, now we don't have to wait a bill. You think eight and a half
million for Mark Schifley.
Centerman is an overpay? For seven years, starting at
32? Hell yeah, that's an overpay.
But as a UFA, he's not going to get seven
years? No, I don't think so.
Okay. I mean,
like he's coming off a rough year
last year, it's a better year this year, but
doesn't play defense much. I don't think so, no.
Did he have 40 last year or not?
At the year before. A couple of years ago,
we had the big offensive year, I think, but
talking to my answer.
No, no, I understand what you're saying.
at 32 years old, it is hard to give anybody a seven-year deal unless you are like a bona fide super, super star.
Because then you know it was last year.
You're 42.
You're right.
Yeah, 40 something like.
But the point being, it's more about like where was the marketplace for these guys even this summer?
That would be my question.
I'll put back to you guys.
Because who had the money to spend eight or nine million on a centerman?
Unless, you know, yes, Columbus did.
and, you know, San Jose and teams like that.
But who of the contenders are top tier teams?
Maybe Boston, but I don't think so
because they would have to move some money around.
It's same thing.
You kind of ran out of teams that we're going to pay.
Yeah, guys, you're always at the mercy, right?
When you're, who's got the money in the summer that I become a UFA?
And same thing with the goalie.
But like to me, you're talking, let's say New Jersey was looking at Markstrom.
Markstrom's at $6 million.
What's hell of a guy at?
Eight and a half.
Time seven.
So that's the biggest deal probably given out since
Babrovsky, if I'm correct?
And that's a long ass time ago and didn't go well.
Yeah, because Corpus Salo and those guys are all at
five million type of thing, four and a half.
No, like you look at this, the Sharokin Shisterkin combo.
Those are the guys in Helibuck's class.
He's making more than them.
Can I interrupt you, though?
The Bobrovsky, sorry.
It's too easy to say it didn't go well.
It hasn't so far.
They've had one good year with them.
That's well.
Fuck.
he was the only active goalie in the league with two Veznas when he signed that deal
and he's been very middling for most of the what six five six years last spring.
Yeah, he had one good year like I'm saying.
Yeah, well, that's all you need.
That's what a lot of people get overpaid for is having the one year where you get
to help your team win a cup.
He might get Vesna votes this year.
Yeah, a better year this year for sure.
Sneaking around like if you look at it and I know people don't put that much stock in
wins, but he's got a lot of wins and he's got a lot of wins and he's,
actually his underlying numbers are good.
But I think something a light bulb went on for him.
Like, we forget.
It was Alex Lyon who helped him get in the playoffs.
It was, you know.
He started Series 1.
And he started Series 1.
And then Brobrovsky came in and hasn't looked back since.
But you're right.
There's an argument from a fan base, not from us more, but from fans going,
would you take one run to have, you know, a $10.5 million dollar goalie,
or a $10 million goalie go,
you know, people talked about it with Carrie Price.
Carrie Price's swan song was coming back against the Leafs and taking them to the finals.
Now, Kerry Price is a Hall of Famer for me, you know, gold medals, all of that type of stuff.
I think he's an unbelievable goaltender.
But there were a lot of people going, that guy's overpaid, that guy's overpaid, where my argument would be,
and it's not, it wouldn't hold up today right now because he's having a great season.
But there were times where I would watch Panarin play and I didn't see his hair wet.
he literally would not have a sweat, a beat of sweat.
And he was making 10 million.
And, you know, I get mad about these goal scores who show up and they score 40 and they get 85 points, 90 points.
And, you know, people fall all over themselves to give them 10 million.
But a guy who plays 60 games and is a backbone and can be a difference maker and wins and losses.
It's like, the hell with that guy, how dare you give him eight?
How Gary, why is he at six?
You know, like, it's funny because I've had this argument.
I know I'm getting long-winded, but people kick sand at Jack Campbell's deal.
And yeah, he's playing in the minors, it's not going well.
But, you know, there was a time where Blake Coleman's deal didn't look great.
And he makes the same amount as Jack Campbell.
Now Coleman's having a career season this year.
But, you know, I tell.
I hate those analogies.
Like, honestly, a goalie-making $8 million can be below average.
We see it all the time.
We don't see star players that make that money below league average at anything.
Like a bad year for Sidney Crosby versus a bad year for Sergey Bobrovsky,
if they're the highest paid guys at their positions are totally different.
But you should never, this is my argument.
You should never compare players to goalies.
Because goalies.
That's why I didn't like it.
Gollies are more important because if you could,
your Sydney Crosby can score five goals.
If the guy, if the Jamie McClennon and net allows six, his team loses and he doesn't make the playoffs.
So, you know, Brad Treelam always joked with me, he says the league should just be called goalie.
Because if you don't have one, you're in big trouble.
And I don't disagree with that sentiment.
But that's why in these top 10 lists, top 50 lists and that way, I argue at TSN all the time.
I'm like, take the goalies off the list.
Because where do you plug?
Separate list.
Yes, have a separate list and go, these are the best goalies.
These are the top 10, whatever.
But take them off the list because how do you compare Vasilevsky to,
you know,
rant in it, point.
You know, like,
they're just different and it's hard to go,
because that's literally apples and oranges.
So that's why I always remove myself from that.
But I get it,
I get spirited when it talks about,
I talk about the money because I'm like elite guys
who are in that next level.
They fight to get, you know,
like a Vasilevsky makes nine,
I think he makes nine point three,
nine and a half.
Yeah.
Now that's the Tampa discount a little bit.
But like,
I would argue Vasilevsky.
should probably be in the stratosphere of the McDavid's, Matthews, you name it, all the guys who are making 12 plus.
Wouldn't you love to be making $9.5 million in tax-free Florida?
And it's like, oh, I'm giving you a bit of a hometown discount.
You're welcome, guys.
I'll take my nine and a half and what crew is there?
You know, stamps goes on a deal, Kuch on a deal, him on a deal.
You know, there's another hard line situation that people aren't talking about.
Stephen Stamco's doesn't have a deal.
And they're just, they're, they're giving him, you know, the treatment that he got last time around going, well, we'll see what it looks like maybe in free agency, bring you back.
I don't know.
They haven't had any conversations.
And that's a, you know, that's a guy with pedigree.
Does that say something about them?
Like, and I don't want to try and cause shit, but two times in a row, a guy that's captain material and a number one overall pick and kind of.
considered a superstar and you're kind of like
a couple of uprings
I don't know that feels like a shot I think it's more
you know it's it's managing
the way that managers probably should
and taking emotion out
because we've seen managers fall in love with guys
overpay them because what they did for help win this
and do that and good in the community and all
that. And, you know, that's where if you're, you know, lack of bad wording, like a sociopath,
if you literally don't have any feelings towards it, you're just like, I'm doing this.
It's a business transaction. You know, more managers need to be like that. So you make hard
decisions. You know, I don't know what Stephen Stamco's next contract will look like. I'm sure
he wants to stay in Tampa, but Tampa's got to make it work. You know, they've got money coming up
on the cap that they've got to sort out. And, you know, I think they made some really nice moves
at the deadline. You know, you pick up like Duclair, he's been a real value added to them,
you know, and so guys like that, I think, and Tampa's kind of hanging in there, although
you watched the other night, Florida put up 53 shots or whatever it was, and the shots
I think when I was watching, it was 53 to 16.
Jeez.
And Tampa beat Florida in Florida, it was like 5'3.
Like, that was, you know, you had two, 10 million dollar goalies technically, but for a vast
Silevsky put a clinic on that night.
It's funny because you talk about not rewarding us where they did.
We always, like, you have to be ruthless and disciplined, right?
Because Stephen Samcoe has meant everything in that franchise since he was ahead of the draft.
They had billboards of them up before he even picked him.
But we talked about the Seabrook deal all the time.
They never won when that Seabrook extension kicked in again.
That was pretty much the end of them, even winning a series.
And that was thanking a guy for what he did, not paying him what he was worth.
Yeah.
And he's still getting paid, but he's getting paid by Tampa.
I was actually in Colonna.
Still getting paid.
He's still getting paid.
I was in Colona a couple summers ago at Reni Bork's house.
Nice house.
You got a great house and beautiful place.
But his next door neighbor is Seabrook.
Seabrook was out on the boat when he got traded.
His contract got traded.
And technically, if you think about it, he got a raise that day because of the tax situation.
That's amazing.
So, you know, it's, it's, there is a lot of like weird little loopholes in the league that we, you know, it's funny for us to talk about.
But, you know, Fred Seabrook making seven, whatever it was, got a seven percent raise by being traded because, you know, less, well, no state tax in Florida.
So you're down to 39 percent.
Where in Illinois, you're at 44, 46, whatever he was.
Like, you know, whatever his deal was previously.
So.
Yeah.
He's in the final year of that deal that pays him 6.875 million persons.
God, that was bad at the moment they signed.
Yeah, there's other situations where guys get sent to the A and because there's no escrow in the HL guys.
Like, like, Wade Redden made more when he got sent down the miners.
Like that, I love it.
That happened to me.
I was on.
I was in a contract issue with Minnesota.
I got sent to the Houston arrows.
I think it.
And I made an extra, I think escrow that year was 8% or something.
Yeah, there you go.
So I, and here's the other thing in Minnesota state taxes compared to Texas.
Oh, yeah.
So I made less, no escrow and no state tax.
Extra hundred grand.
There you go.
Whatever it was.
I kind of like it here.
This place is great.
Nice weather.
This is when I knew that I loved hockey for hockey and not the money because I was making
probably the most I'd ever had in my career.
And I was so miserable being a 30, 30 year old gold tent or whatever I was.
playing in the HL after, you know, having a career in the NHL.
So I was, I had battled back and Craig Button ended up trading for me and all that.
I ended up in Calgary.
But it was more that year was a tough season.
And back then you could tear your contract up.
There were three different teams during the season that offered to trade for me if I would renegotiate my deal.
And one manager offered me a two-year extension for half my contract.
So basically I would have played the next year for free, but I would have been out of the, I would have been back in the NHL, but I would have basically played the next season for free.
And I had to say no, because I'm, I would never going to make that money again type of thing.
So I took my chances and it is what it is.
But it's weird, these tax situations got to be mindful of them.
Assholes, hey, James.
Just you know what?
Have a heart for Pete's sake.
For free for a year?
For free?
hockey player.
Yeah.
It was a unique situation.
But, you know, I remember talking to my dad and my dad was like, listen, you know, do what you want.
Like you said, if you want to go play.
But keep in mind, I was just going to be called, like I was going to an organization that had a, you know, a star goaltender.
So I wouldn't have played at all.
And who knows how it worked out, right?
But it's also odd because all four of us, and I think once you're out of it, you go as a GM and as a man.
management team, play hardball as much as possible.
Yeah, much as possible.
When you can, yeah.
Yeah.
If you have leverage, you've got to do it.
Within reason, though, I always believe that there's a happy median and everything.
You're going to play hardball somewhere that's going to come back to bite you.
But if you're, to me, if you're easy to work with.
Yeah, there's a difference between hardball and being a dick.
Yes.
I think Bill Zito has done a really good job of that, right?
Like he's got his guys a good numbers, but he's also got himself in a nice cap spot and guys want to be there.
Well, that helps, yeah.
Well, did you see, I can't remember who he extended the other day, but Zito was emotional.
Yeah.
Forcing.
He was like crying, like going, this guy earned the contract.
I'm so happy for him.
Like that made me, it made me have faith again in the personal relationships of the business.
Yeah.
because he was genuinely happy to hand, you know, a multi-million dollar deal to a guy who had gone and made his team and earned it.
I can't remember who was it.
It was Forreling.
It was Forreling.
It was a waiver claim from Carolina back in the day.
He's making less than three and been really good for them.
And then boom, it's a huge extension at nearly six until 2032.
Yeah.
Well, Forzling's a good player.
He's a really good player.
Waivers.
I don't know.
But yeah, it's, it's interesting to see how teams are built and the way that they conduct business kind of behind the scenes and that.
And I don't know.
I mean, where are you guys at with the flames?
I mean, is it, uh, who?
Is it, you know, we limp into the end is everybody.
I got to see Wolf last week.
That was exciting.
Yeah, yeah.
The eyes are on the future.
It is.
And he looked good.
I thought against Washington.
That sounds guarded.
That sounds guarded.
Because the last start, he wasn't great.
That's why.
He wasn't.
And, you know, the thing is, is the league, it's hard to play in.
And he's going to learn, you know, he's going to have ups and downs and that.
He's got this kind of swagger about him, which is good.
I really respect that.
I never had that as a player.
You know, Wolf is a, you know, he seems like he's going to be a top tier prospect.
And he's played, you know, he played good.
I didn't love his Washington game.
But, you know, afterwards, I was like,
you want a little bit of humble where it's like, hey, you know what?
Didn't have it this night, but, you know, it's, but it was the other way.
It's like, yeah, I went off a stick and yeah, we got a couple shots.
And he, he said something about the goalie on the other end.
He's like, that guy.
Like he didn't even name like, I laughed to myself.
I'm like, God, to have that type of confidence.
Chip on a shoulder guy, right?
He's been told he's been too small since Midget.
Which you're right.
And you need to have self-confidence.
And he's got a lot of that.
And he's backed it up, you know, with how well he's played in the H.L.
And I like this little stretch.
But there is going to be a time where the league is, you know, the league's going to be hard on you.
And you've got to find a way, you know, I always call it fake it to make it.
No matter what's going on.
Like Connor Hullabuck is a prime example.
I've watched that guy give up seven goals and get interviewed afterward and go, I felt great.
I'm like, are you?
What?
Like he says these things.
I'm like, God, to have that.
type of like red eggy would be in a 10 game goal scoring slump and you go i can't wait to start
scoring like he's got a big smile on him to say i'm like what do you what the hell you smiling about i'm
nervous for you you know and it would be on the front cover of the sun it's like when's i'm gonna
score you know all of that type of stuff a slow start every fall yeah and iic he would just have
this big smile on his face and be like yeah boy it's gonna be exciting when i start scoring like that was
what it was like it was just i never had that confidence i
I wish I had that, you know.
Appreciate you, pal.
We love you.
You're always great here.
Well, thank you.
I appreciate it.
I love, love being on the show.
And next Wednesday, I actually should be at home again.
I won't be traveling as much.
We're going to talk to our boss, Jack.
Make sure we can keep you coming on.
Yeah, we'll make sure.
We have Mr.
Jack and, yeah.
And cold.
Absolutely.
There it is.
That is how you're getting paid, right?
Yeah, we're just sending shit in the talents.
Yeah, that's right.
See you, James. Appreciate you.

I think noodles hit on something that if it was a Canadian market,
it would be insane. Like literally walk year for Stamco's.
And to your point, Red, and it was Stevie Y last time, and we know he's, he's one of those ruthless guys.
They didn't feel they had to buckle in the last year, going into the last year of his last contract.
He was in Toronto.
I think what's different here is that you were getting, it was a max deal wherever he was going.
And it was just, hey, after tax, it's the same anyway.
So go there and it's chaos or enjoy living your life here.
I don't know what you would offer this guy.
He's 34.
Like, what does he get for term?
How many years would he give him, Dean?
I wouldn't give me.
That team is so good, and I'm sorry, I don't need you.
You want to stay?
And I think they'd love to have them, but they come back a one year, nine million or two years, 15 million.
Never.
Why would he ever do that?
So now this is the spot they're in.
He's like, he knows he can get more from a worst team and go to a place that,
isn't going to win cups, or he can take less and shorter term to stay in Tampa.
And that's why we're here.
But like, or is he looking at Tampa as being on the downslide now?
Not really.
I think the Sergachev injury is the biggest, but like they still,
headman's 33.
That's probably the oldest other guy there.
But like Kutrov's having a monster year.
Points having a monster year.
Vasilevsky missed how many months this year, but he's still there.
I think they're good.
Yeah.
I'm not saying they're, I'm just, I don't, yeah.
I wouldn't view it as I'm going to go to a bad team.
He could probably go to a team that he figures, well,
good a shot as any over the next three, four years.
But yeah, if I'm Stamcoast, I'm doing that,
how much term can I get?
I got lots of money.
Yeah, and he's won twice.
Maybe I can get a La Cavalier,
they'll buy me out,
and then I can go somewhere else and get double dipping.
It'd be great.
It's a whole move.
You can pull it off.
Anyway, it's just interesting.
I imagine this in Toronto or Montreal.
It'd be all we see every day.
And instead it's like, yeah, no,
they'll just deal with it at the end of the year.
Yeah, do you think he's been asked about it down in town?
Like, oh, is this the last year of your deal?
Yeah, it's the last year of my deal.
Oh.
But there's like two people on that beat in Tampa.
There'd be 25 in Toronto, Montreal, right?
That's the sarcasm.
No, I know.
And it's like two languages, people speculating versus like, yeah, yeah, I just get coffee.
No one bugs me here.
I can go anywhere.
No, no, so I am.
I think they know who stirs the drink, and I think it ain't him.
Who stirs the drink there for you?
Coutcher off and point and Vasilevsky and headman.
Is that too dark?
Because I felt like there was a glare.
Now there's a glare.
Well, if you just turn your, yeah, then you'll get.
Yeah, like I'd say he's definitely their fifth best player.
I'm with you on that, right, for sure.
I just, it's a weapon.
The fact that they were ready to let him go once,
so they seem to be willing to do it again.
That means something.
Or they're the best poker players of all.
time, right? They needed them, but we can't show how much we want them.
But it's a completely different management group by now, isn't it?
The guy that studied under your eyeserman and was his right-hand man's running the team.
It's the same crew. It's not like anyone's been fired. I think you call it in love with the,
the, what's the word I'm searching for? Lifestyle.
No. Sometimes stories get written about people, about, the legacy piece. Yeah.
And then you dig into what that person really is
And you start to find that there's more faults than you may be imagined
It's like when my dad
My dad started when I made the NHL
My dad would read all the articles and follow it close
Yeah, yeah, yeah
And it was like he was reading religious text or doctrine that like this is
This is one and it's like, no, it's a bunch of bullshit.
Yeah, that's a one guy really.
one day. Right. It's
anyway, I
can sit here and take pot shots at Stamco's all they want
because nobody gives a shit what I think of them. But
I just wonder if there's more to that story. You know what? It's not pod shots.
He is a guy to
Ryan's point. They were putting up billboards
prior to him being picked. He was the first overall pick.
Franchise player. He's been the captain for years.
The Stanley Cups, all of that. The failures and then
the successes. If it
if it was any other team,
it would be a pretty big story.
They're still in their window to win and all of that.
It's not like it's expired.
But I'm just thinking what would have.
But again,
that's what I'm talking about the legacy piece.
You're talking about a guy that, yeah,
and at that age, the Tampa Bay Lightning know exactly who he is
and what he brings.
And they're willing to let him go.
Yeah, we'll keep you for our price.
Yeah.
And that's that ruthless GM piece we're talking about.
Yeah, you think about guys,
if he was L.A. and Copatar, I think it would be, it kind of be similar.
You know, it's, but it, or maybe we just don't pay close enough attention to it.
He's going to get 30 again. He's at 27. Like, it's not like the guy's washed. We shouldn't suggest that, right?
But, but to your point, Retton Dean, like, points better player at this point, absolutely Kuturoff is Vasilevsky's crucial.
And I don't know where headman's at. He's kind of with Damcoast where it's like you're both closer to 35 and 30 now, fellas.
Can all of us get along.
You just got sat as a captain, too.
just to say you're the captain doesn't mean shit to me like you have i don't know that room
or that team but i i i don't know i i know rumblings pardon me have you have you are there rumblings

Got a real treat for you coming up, Retro.
You know what?
We've got a couple of things coming up for you specifically.
I'm sure.
Siff-sillously.
I'm going to love it.
Ryan's going to enjoy it. Jack, I don't even know what makes him tick anymore, but you.
Steelers.
You're going to love it.
It's waiting for Jefferson.
Let's do a little this day in history.
It's a presentation of McLeod La.
Shane King.
What a guy.
Triplets?
Man's a saint.
I don't know how he's done it all.
If he can handle that, your legal situation?
Peanuts.
Partner in the litigation and dispute resolution group,
specializing in areas like employee rights.
Being laid off, being terminated can be hard.
Shane would, he'll review that situation.
Make sure you've been treated fairly.
And as the law requires, using a practical approach and plain language, not legal jargon.
We all hate that.
None of that stuff.
It's March 20th.
Time machine back.
Retro, where were you?
March 20th, 2004.
Okay.
Because I know where you were.
Here's where you were.
Take a look.
Oh.
Epp shot.
On top, we've got Kiprasov.
And what we've got is a mess for this game done.
Kiprasop and Bofood.
Yes.
Where are they go?
The goaltenders have become the main event here.
Now Warner and Scott Hartnell.
The goalies are still going.
Well, there's not much question.
And it does kind of slow down after this, but this was also,
Because there was a rhubarb before this.
I believe it was the empty net goal.
And then a crew including Chris Simon got involved and got tossed from the game.
And then the face off with three seconds left, whatever it was.
This started.
And we had a Rhett Warner, a Robin Regier, an Oliwa.
There's Oliwa.
Didn't put out the Lady Bing.
Domines, Darrell, for the final face-off.
What do you remember about that?
Obviously, now you didn't win,
but what do you remember about that team?
It was March of 04.
Things are starting to kind of gel and take shape,
and it sounds funny, but I wonder about that night, too,
about bringing you guys together.
Well, all of it.
I mean, there was, I don't know if there's a team in the league
that could handle their depth that.
Yeah.
We're fairly well stacked.
in that category.
So I don't know.
I mean,
that night,
it was just another night.
And Darrell just,
I think Darrell was pissed off.
And I forget who was coaching in Nashville.
They were not happy with Big D.
It was trots.
It was trots.
It was trots.
They didn't have anyone to put out there.
No.
Daryl had last change and he goes,
screw you,
I'm going to get you.
Kind of thing.
And as soon as Olilwag hit the ice,
it was like,
oh boy.
Here we go.
Like, you do damn well.
He was doing it.
Because I had the video, but the audio was no good on it, so I didn't use it.
But they had, the linesman came and stood beside Oliwa.
Oliwa.
Oliwa starts in the far side, whoever, Adam Hall or whatever, you can see, basically says, are we going?
No, he skated around the circle to the other winger.
Are we going?
No.
Well, you know what?
We are going.
So you know, so the linesman is standing right in between them.
and then it was all kind of quiet,
but you,
you pot liquor,
kind of got it going.
It was quiet.
And then Hartnell skated in somewhere
and you went after him and give him a poke.
And then it was on.
And then Oliwa was very happy.
Now he could get going.
And then I don't know if Kipper was really pumped about doing it,
but he did it.
Because I was going to go flying.
I was going to go in there before they started because I'm like,
oh, God,
he can't,
we can't risk.
It's the one guy.
Yeah.
right it was like but the the ref had i had heartinal down and he he he saw me look up and he was like
if you throw one more punt and suspending you what okay you wouldn't do that and i i half-ass
new hartnell he's a sasker sure and it really wasn't it was like i'm punching him in the pads
and it was more of a make it look good.
It's a lot of only want to do his thing.
Yeah.
The catalysts, right.
Get him wound up.
Yeah, so, and it was pretty quiet before that.
Now, Warner gets a first period intermission,
interference call.
So you're already, you've already on the score sheet.
Oh, feet.
And then a Chris Simon slash.
Then we jump ahead to the third.
And yeah, right near the end,
Chris Simon, ruffing, ruffing, ruffing.
and then at the 20 minute mark
Oliwa, Kiprasov, Commodore, Warner, Rageir,
Oliwa, yeah, you guys put some PIMS together.
And on the other side, not as much.
There was a Scott Hartnell, Brad Bombardier,
Shane 90, Scott Walker and Greg Johnson,
the lucky participants there.
Was 90 out there?
Yeah, at the 1957, he must have been involved with Simon
before that final faceoff.
because Joltax's empty netter made it 3 to 1.
Wow.
Joltock will do that to you.
He really got you guys fired up.
The Latvian.
Yeah, that team, it's like, hey, you want to,
your third toughest guy, our third, your fourth, your fourth, our fifth, our fifth?
Like, it just kept getting worse for the other guys.
Daryl could send some messages late.
Where are we here?
I'm not sure if it would be much, but.
I'd like to know what Sye was upset about.
I don't remember that game.
Like I don't think it was a high emotion game.
And all of a sudden it was like,
Sai had that thing happened.
And I don't even remember what happened,
but I knew something had happened.
I couldn't remember what.
And then I remember Darrell putting all the guys out there.
And I'm like,
and like just said,
Fender,
it's very comfortable to go out at that point
when you look across and you're like,
so I'm going to get you?
Oh, okay.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah,
we had Sean Thornton on Department of Discipline last week,
and it was like Lucci Chara himself,
and on and on it went down.
I was like, oh, boy, like you just,
you can't look at these guys.
They're going to make your fifth,
toughest guy, get the shit beat out of him,
and they're fourth, and your third.
Yeah.
You want to start this, or?
Chris Simon played 20 minutes, 30 seconds that night.
Well, he's playing with Iggy.
Yeah.
He had 29 one year and watch.
And I'm sure we were,
We were in Washington, someone would have to look it up.
I'm sure the Sabres were game 82.
And it was a nothing game for us.
I shouldn't say this, maybe.
That year?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I feel like it was kind of a,
we're not going to do all we can to stop the big boy from having a chance at 30.
It wasn't a make sure you stop the big man.
He's on a breakaway, don't trip him.
It was more of,
uh,
don't block.
Let the goal.
Yeah,
yeah.
It was kind of,
because,
and honestly,
I'll get emotional again,
but that's how respected
he was in the league.
Yeah.
It was he,
you knew what he had to do
and then being through.
And he had 29 and you're like,
screw it.
Go ahead and get 30.
Okay.
There's a bit's against.
I'll take the minus.
The old wink, wink.
Yeah.
Whatever you do, don't beat me, don't try and beat me wide.
Yeah.
Because there's a chance.
It's an all-star that year.
An all-star and 13th in heart voting.
Like, you want to talk about, like, this was not a one-dimensional player.
It's with five huge goals in that playoff run you guys had, no four.
Yes, he did.
Like, soft, soft hands for a big man.
Poor noodles.
back to New York.
Is there nothing else he could have done there?
Jay.
Yeah, he came out anyways at the red ball hanging with Phil.
He did okay.
There you go.

April 9th, 2000, a one-one tie between Buffalo and Washington. The last game of the year,
Washington would go into the playoffs. And Stu Barnes, 20th, Richard Zednik's 19th, the only goals
of the game. That was the game where Simon could have hit 30. And I think he played the whole
overtime. It would make sense.
See if I get some nice times, sir.
I do a lot, you know, and it's because you see it in football.
And a lot of times because the guys would be miced up, hey, I could, I need two catches.
One more sack.
I get a million bucks.
Like something like that, right?
I actually, and I, again, this CTE kicks in, I would expect, and I believe that we discussed it or had notice of it,
that there was a massive, massive bonus if he got 30.
Like, yeah.
Big.
Okay. Yeah, he played almost 22 minutes.
That's a lot of Chris Simon.
That's D-Man minutes.
Wow.
We have something for you, Red.
I'm a Buffalo and you're in Calgary.
No, no, it's just, it's a treat.
It's a little.
Because I know how much you love Pockdoku.
He's making that face again from yesterday.
That's your alpha brain.
Yeah. Are you familiar with the Puckdoku? Do you know how the Puckdoku works? Do you know what it is? How I'm guessing it's a Sudoku. It's a play on the Sudoku, you're right? And we kind of brought this up, I guess it was a few weeks ago. We had gotten the invite from the Puckdoku people.
Yes. Why don't you guys, because they come up with a new one every day. It's a game that you can play on the old interwebs. And we're the special, we're the guests today. So we put together the Puckdok d'Oku people. So we put together the Puckdok.
that whoever goes on and if they do it daily,
it's one that we threw together.
Now, you have to find within that box,
it's pretty straightforward.
You have to find, so you see there across the top line,
Buffalo Sabres.
Second line across under 150 points.
Third line, under 50 goals scored.
Then you have to match it with the down columns.
The columns.
World Junior U20 gold.
A Florida Panther, 700 plus.
games played in your career. So you have to find players that would fit in each of those categories
for that particular box. That's all like fun. I did this all summer. I absolutely loved it when
this game dropped because it's like you're missing hockey in the summer a bit and it just gets
you down memory lane a bit. So I was just very excited that we've, we've done one on the Department
Discipline show. We had a fun one there and we got to do one of our own today. This is great.
So we're actually going to do it. All right.
You want to do some stokia retro?
I could try.
That's all we can do is try.
So if we have to explain it to quickly again,
each box has to satisfy the requirements of the column in the row.
Jack will click on the box, type in a name,
and we'll see if we're right or wrong.
That's right.
Is there any there that will seem easy?
Like right off the top of your head,
I know definitely who that would be,
or somebody that would fit that description.
Let's start easy.
someone that played for Buffalo
and the Florida Panthers.
Mike Wilson.
And I guess it's worth mentioning.
In some of these,
they'll be very obvious.
It's very easy.
The more fringy you can get,
the better.
The lower your score, the better.
Steve, Montador.
Would Brown or Montador be
more fringy?
Montador.
Because people probably remember
with those two teams.
Yeah.
I think Brown is more fringy.
Who's Brown?
Mike Brown, didn't you say?
No, Mike Wilson.
Or Wilson, sorry.
Sorry, Wilson.
Okay.
Let's get it.
Let's see if it is it.
Let's take it.
Oh, percentage, Jack.
Can you read that out to us?
0.4.
amazingly obscure.
Excellent.
If you get under 1%, if you're in the zero point whatever's,
and I'll tell you what, our buddy, Jason Weamer is in that a lot.
Yeah.
He's one of my favorites because he played in a lot of places.
You get Clark Wilman here or there, something like that.
That's great.
All right.
A Buffalo Sabre that won World Junior Gold.
No, I was thinking of Middlestad and Eichl, but I don't know if the Americans won those years.
You've got to be dialed on what year.
One that came, I just, I'm really familiar with that, what is it, the 05 group.
Yeah, that's super team.
Right?
There were so many guys on that team.
Crosby team, yeah.
And I just remember, because I was in Red Deer, Colin Fraser, was a,
on that third line with Clark MacArthur.
That's going to be a great name too because that's well under.
That's going to be super obscure. So Colin Fraser.
Well, no, no, because but Fraser never played for Buffalo.
Clark MacArthur did.
There you go.
I would go Clark MacArthur in that box there.
Let's see.
0.8%.
We're still under a percent, boys. Well done.
Pretty good.
Two guesses under a percent.
Okay.
Now we need a 700 gamer with the Sabers.
if we're going to work the top row.
Sure. So a saber who played more than 700.
It doesn't all have to be with the sabers.
It just has to satisfy that he was a saber and he played more than 700.
So we probably want to find someone that we knows over 700 but had a really,
really short amount of time in Buffalo.
Like Lafontein would be your obvious.
Howard Chuck could be an obvious one.
Who played like a minute there and then went somewhere else and played a ton?
Or just that you wouldn't think of.
Yeah, exactly.
It's another one of those guys that I bring up retro and we talk about them once in a while.
he's played a bunch of games
is your buddy Jeep
Curtis Brown
would Brown be over 700
if so then
Jeep Jeep
which sounds like a hell of a pick there
or is James Pat
do you think he's a popular
because I think he's over Thau
easy.
Oh then you got to do it
because he's not that big of a name
no everyone's thinking
Lafontein Howard check those type guys
right
Stewie Barnes.
He was over 700 for sure, right?
I think he'd be more popular than Jeep because he scored goals.
Okay.
Remember him.
So let's go James Patrick, Jack.
James Patrick.
Two first names.
Really good spelling from Jack.
They don't want to just count them on the other.
Oh, point three percent.
Yes, Dino.
Well done.
Point three.
How many games for Jeep?
I'll take a look.
You guys talk about you.
Yeah.
So this is where you can get sneaky, Rhett.
The next row is under 150 points.
So you know who doesn't have a lot of points that plays hockey?
Goleys.
So that is a way to hack your way into very, very obscure players as you start picking goalies.
Like we know that Spencer Knight, for example, has under 150 points and has played for the Panthers.
That could be your middle box or even a more obscure goalie there.
Also, before you put that in.
Also, fighters.
Yes, sure.
there's a lot of enforcers.
Yeah.
Who have played a lot of games or would have played that metal square deed.
Find an enforcer for Florida then under 150 points.
I just, I default to either Peter Worell or Paul Loss.
Because I don't think there was a lot of points there.
Certainly for Worell, right?
Oh, hell yeah.
Yeah.
With Laos of Florida with 150, or is that way too many, right?
I just think that that's too big a name.
there would be tons of guys that had played for Florida that had under
okay let's go find a rusty like Alex Lion that's the guy we're going
he's played net for Florida he's under there's another guy he this was one of my big
swings and miss I just remember so Bob Kiddleski this guy's gonna play he was a first
round pick I love this guy career Kendall McCartle played in Moose Jaw went in the first round
of Florida didn't really work out yeah throw that one in Kendall
there you go wow is that ever a name 0.1% they don't even have his picture that's unbelievable no
well done you know there are zero point zeros right like there's there's got to be okay so
good at this game i want the guy to the left of mccardle i'm going under 150 points world juniors it's
our boy jeff glass he was the goalie for that team and he did get to the n hl with uh chicago
point five yes so still 100 percent there was
That's our boy. Good to see it, Jeff.
Okay, so World Junior Gold, under 50 goals scored.
So goalies can, you can put goalies in here too, right?
Yeah, you can go Bobby Luongo there if you want.
You can do it every one.
Although I don't know his year one.
So hang on, I just cancel that.
But yeah.
He won silver for sure.
He was in Winnipeg.
Well, let's go find an obscure goalie that won gold.
Or a D man.
Because 50 goals is a lot for D.
D man.
I always remember, um, oh, who else?
just guys that were again on that that world junior team um sean bell oh yeah
Dallas first rounder he was on that gold medal team oh cam barker there's tons of
go to the mid 90s we won five or six in a row gold medals yeah Jamie store but that's the
thing that we go deeper and I don't remember if it's silver's or gold yeah you got to make sure
it's gold it's got to be someone you know had gold I'm pretty sure Sean Bell cam barker
Barker was on that same team, yeah, for sure.
But let's do Bell.
I think he was as well.
0.6%.
Well done, fellas.
Well done.
Okay.
Panteros, under 50 goals scored,
there's your Peter Worrell,
or is that too obvious?
I think Peter Warrell,
as far as the Florida Panthers concerned,
there are tons of guys that came through.
Like, Bob, that's scored in a career.
Like, there would be,
David Nemerovsky.
but he have 50 goals
but 50
50 yeah I don't know
career
okay
I want retro
if retro feels good about this one
I want retro to get in here
sure sure yeah
are you sure retro
Nemerovsky
no cheating
he couldn't
because we don't want to get
what position was he
you can't cheat
is he D I mean you could
Are you cheating
we're trying to
I don't know
what are the rules
I would have picked David Nemerovsky
all right let's give it a go
all right let's go give it a shot
0.1%
right nice
wow well done
well done
another one you could have done
Jason
podolan
god these are good
there you go okay
now tricky perhaps
yeah getting hard because now we're asking for someone
to play a lot of games but also not have
production
who would have played a lot of games
and been just a stiff offensively.
You wonder, how do you get to 700 games
and have such shit numbers?
But Brodsky couldn't be at 700 yet, could he?
That's a lot for a goalie.
A lot for a goalie.
Why does it?
Do they have to be from Florida?
No, it can be anywhere.
No, this is kind of wide open now.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But 700's a lot, right?
Like, that's a pretty impressive career.
to have brutal offensive numbers.
Vernon?
Under 50 goals or 100 points.
Pick one.
Huge name.
Your names are,
those are pretty big names.
Yeah,
it's a goalie, though.
What about,
just because it was in my head,
would Rob Ray have had 150 points?
No.
No, would have you had 700 games?
Yeah, I bet she's...
He would have, she played forever, right?
Yeah, okay.
Let's do it, Jack.
Okay, Rob Ray.
on razor 2%
damn it that's good though
Dean we just we've been on a heater don't get
mad we got three faceless dudes that's unreal
your names are two
yeah he's not a
challenge right is that it's a 700 game played guy
right it's hard to be a no name if you play
okay so we need what we need here to really get back
into the game we need someone who played a lot
had shit offense and is really a
fucking nobody
Mm.
Rageir wouldn't have had 50, would he?
Pretty good name though, right?
Yeah, but that's a guy that he played in our market maybe.
I don't think anyone else is thinking about Rob McGeerer when they see this.
700 games.
I know where you're going with it.
And I'm not buying 50, under 50 goals.
Career.
Career?
Stay at home D.
Bob Bassin, I don't know.
You can also go goalie here, but 700 games is a huge threshold.
so now we're talking big names.
Well, I mean, you'd be talking Haschik, but that's big name.
Yeah.
Any goalie that played ahead 10 is probably going to be a bit of a name.
Any goalie's a bad pick.
Some plug, someone that you wouldn't even think of that just is kind of like a,
forgot he even played.
Oh, right.
Point two percent.
That's huge.
We are.
Woo!
That a boy, Rhett.
Damn it.
I never even thought.
Holy shit.
And you were just absolutely crushing whoever was going to come up in that box.
I thought Reggear is a good player.
You didn't crush Ruggier.
Oh, shoot, I feel kind of bad.
I could have done where Razor is too.
I could have done where MacArthur is.
I could have done where Mike Wilson is.
What?
Well, here's the thing.
There's lots of guys that can fit in a lot of boxes.
So what we'll do?
Go to Puckdooku.com today.
Fill it out.
Screenshot your grids for us and we'll show some of the funnest ones tomorrow.
How does that sound?
And so you want the lowest score?
Yeah, because it would be easy to just say, hey, you know, the big popular names.
It's harder to find the obscure names, right?
How do you know what we got?
It'll add it up.
Uniqueness, you want a low uniqueness.
Yeah, or uniqueness scores, too.
Like, some people have scores in the hundreds.
That's a really good.
And somebody will dig out a zero.
Somebody will have a zero point zero.
Which is incredible.
Yeah, if you can do all years under 1%,
they give you a zero, which is incredible.
The only one we had over a percent was rob rate too.
But they'll be cheating, right?
They'll be going in and they'll find that saber.
There's some nerds that love it.
I mean, it's like anything.
You really, really, really, really, really want to cheat at the game.
It's probably a way to do it.
If you want to go to play bridge with the 70-year-olds
and have something scratching your leg that's code with your partner,
you could probably do that.
But, you know, who the hell are you?
What are you doing?
Anyway, have some fun with that.
I love that game.
700?
So I've just got, hmm.
714 games is what...
Just over.
Regular season, though, right?
That's worth...
Now, lots of playoff.
How many playoff?
Another 60s.
Another 101?
Oh, jeez.
Those are the ones that matter.
And it would have been a lot more if Keenan would have played me.
Might have won a series, you dummy.
Yeah.
So you didn't have 50 or 150.
And you played for both the, yeah.
And the gold was the, you got the gold.
could have used me anywhere.
Well, rounded.
You like Puckdoku, Red?
That's great.
I was very confused at first.
I was like,
I don't understand how this plays out.
And see,
I think because you have a good catalog
of those guys that,
like a David Nemorovsky,
I'm not thinking of that.
You should play Puck Dooku.
You would go in there
because every day it's a new one.
And you can go back,
they've got the,
the hist.
You can go back every day.
There's ones.
Do you like crossroads?
Do you do the number game?
or no. Some people like that
with their coffee in the morning. So it's all activity.
I got to get my focus pills
out and then I'll be. Yeah. But
I mean, here's the thing. If you do a Sudoku,
you're like, yeah, I did a lot of thinking about
numbers one through nine today.
Whereas if you're doing hockey ones,
you're like, you've got all these memories coming back. You remember
an old teammates, my colleague guy.
It's awesome. And it was like Sudoku
where you had to actually pick the right.
No. If it was just one, that
would be incredibly abstract, right? One per
square. That'd be a nightmare.
734 games, a second assist on a Steve Larmergole.
What the hell are we doing there?
And it'll piss you off because you think, oh, this will be a good one.
This will be discreet.
And then it's 32%.
Oh, geez.
Damn it.
How many, I didn't think people would know that Gretzky played for the Oilers and the Kings.
God damn it.
Didn't see it coming.
Let's do the Pinder report.
Presentation of Village Honda.
It's as though Honda designed the CRV.
for Calgary and it's unpredictable weather like today, you know what I'm saying.
No matter what the conditions, the CRV sits atop the pack among compact SUVs.
You'll feel confident behind the wheel of your CRV as Honda has included a plethora of driver safety features that come standard.
Village Honda presents the Pinder Report.
What are you wheeling around in?
You've got some kind, you're a, hey, Pinder?
What are you?
I was in a Honda passport, which has been a very sure footed Honda.
Trusty, yes, quite impressed.
Lots of room for the hockey bags in the back and such.
Oh, nice. Good stuff.
Oh, hang on.
So for Phyllis, Honda's time.
Ryan Pinda.
Ryan Pinda.
Ryan Pinda.
And the Pinder report.
Fellas, flames don't play.
Fames haven't played.
Flames won't play.
It's a while here.
This is a bit of a saunter through the desert,
a second consecutive off day.
Ryan Husk's Flames.
So no need to look at the standings.
They're going to be different by the time Saturday rolls around.
need to look at the inverse.
Tough night last night, by the way.
Inverse standings.
Oh,
you need that three-pointer between Pittsburgh and New Jersey.
Didn't get.
Montreal.
Come on now.
You had them taking penalties against the Oilers.
Buffalo,
one goal you couldn't get,
come on.
Need one more.
Get to overtime.
Either way,
let's focus on what we do have,
which is playoffs in a month.
Fellas,
if they started tonight,
here is what we're looking at
for playoff series in the east.
Let's react quickly.
Boston, the one seed.
Detroit comes in as Wildcard 2.
Original 6 matchup.
Are we watching?
Don't like Detroit's chances.
Don't like their chances.
I think they could be fun.
I don't like their chances.
I'll watch it.
It's a good jersey matchup at a minimum.
Second matchup, this is juicy.
This is a rematch of last year with the Leafs.
I thought I played Florida, but certainly got a goalie by Brovsky.
Oh, man.
Shoot this right in my veins.
Panthers Leaves.
Yeah, that's what it comes down to.
You only got so much time to watch.
And there's going to be some conflicting.
I get it.
Everyone hates the Leafs, but I can't not watch it.
That's a great series right there.
Plus, Florida's pest factor is through the roof.
Their shitheads per 60, that new metric, is just leading the league.
Yeah.
They got Lomburgs.
They got Kachukes.
They got Gajovic's.
They got all kinds of Sam Bennett.
Playoff Sam Bennett.
Can't wait.
How about this?
a absolute thriller.
Rangers win their division
and for that great accomplishment
they draw the lightning.
Oh, this would be amazing.
I'm not in love with the lightning.
Nor am I.
No, and why you don't need to be.
But could they be good for two weeks?
Fuck yeah.
They still got Vasilevsky, right?
Dismantled Vegas pretty good last night.
Anyway.
Trouble.
I don't love the last one,
Carolina, Florida,
of and Philly.
It feels like a foregone conclusion,
but either way,
pretty good matchups out east for round one.
Any reaction to that last one?
I like the Flyers being in,
but like you say,
it doesn't really jingle my bells.
Yeah,
if I could switch out Tampa and Philly,
that's what I would do.
Okay.
Philly play the Rangers.
Oh,
yeah,
a little more regional there.
Okay.
Don't mind that at all.
Or Tampa, Florida.
Yeah,
that's Battle of Florida is just sensational.
Yeah,
they had a preseason game
with like 10 fights a couple years ago.
they hate each other. It's awesome.
Let's go to the West. Jets, top seed.
They narrowly have the Canucks by points percentage.
They would get Nashville the hottest team on earth.
It's wild how good the Preds have been.
13. Yeah, sorry, Ryan.
13-0 and 2 in their last 15.
Like what?
I know you're going to announce them all, but I've glanced at this.
This is must-watch TV for me, all of them.
The whole West is just phenomenal.
At the bottom, you have the rematch.
Walk us through, Red. So tell us why.
do you see it well i just i think winnipeg i watched a bit of them last night i watched a whole bunch of them
this year thought they looked great and clearly nashville is one of the hottest teams so i and i like
that they're both they'd both be considered smaller markets so a couple smaller markets be lively
crowds in both buildings tons of fun Colorado dallas a classic match up out west like you've seen
some historic battles between those two squads and both teams,
very, very, very good with a chance to win.
Vancouver, Vegas.
Vancouver's finally back in.
People out West are going to be wound up.
Vegas, I don't know what you're going to get out of them because they're kind of
stumbling, in my opinion, but it's Vegas.
And they'll have all those guys up LTIR and everyone will be pissed off.
And they're kind of the heel of the league right now.
And the Oilers Kings for two years of.
a row have been unbelievable.
Yeah, this would be the third year.
The prior to, it's been unbelievable hockey.
So just all of those matchups look great.
And you know what?
Colorado, Dallas, if you, if you just said, hey, does that sound like a conference
final?
You'd be like, yep.
Round one.
How juicy.
It's that.
Anyway, I just saw that this morning.
Got me excited, boys.
A month the way.
First round.
First round's so great.
Oh, it's the best.
And it's like, oh, shoot, we got overtime here.
And we're at the intermission.
We're jump here.
get a second screen let's go like it's just
guys running through the warm
for the opening two weeks
not now
yeah bring the snowstorm for
April 20th start are you going to have a lot
going on that's going to take you away from watching
I'm so busy are you I'm so busy
yeah spring hockey
we got right
let's move uh
flames were not in action he's so busy
guess who were in action last night
down the hall, Rat.
The heat.
Yeah, the Wranglers.
Oh, hey.
It was.
Hank Horton made his debut with the contract.
H.R.
Wrangles, must have.
He was on the ice.
Although he's on an ATO, so I guess they don't have.
So embarrassed.
Horton, here's who.
Hank Carton.
Sam Martin, Hank Horton.
What do you do?
Well, another primary assist.
32 of us 34 points this year, primary points.
And first game in the H.
Well, sets up the game winner.
Outta boy.
Love to see it.
Good for him.
New guy.
That's what everybody was saying.
I can't another primary assist.
Yeah.
That's a pike bomb.
So yeah.
That's what you come here for.
Did you see the Jack Campbell shootout?
Yeah.
I mean, it's Wrangler content.
Let's go there.
And this is Santa Prisina.
The blue liner turned winger.
Penalty shot going one on one with a veteran Jack
Campbell Aspro
Scars!
No,
Sander, he did not.
I mean, he kind of did.
The end of it all.
Yeah.
If there's a bad bounce,
Jack Campbell's got it.
Jack Campbell's going to have it for you.
Yeah, it's true.
I kind of feel bad for the guy.
You do not.
You know what?
The longer he's off the oilers roster,
the worst I feel for him,
but he's making good money.
He's the highest paid guy in his league.
He's got to love that.
Ask Pike how the group boy played.
I'll find out how the group kid did.
Okay, I will, yeah.
Okay.
NHL GM meetings in Florida.
Let's go to some of the news around the league.
There's a Frank Baum.
Projection for revenue this year,
6.2 billion.
Wrette.
That's good.
Which sounds like a huge number,
except if you're another major sports league.
Yeah, the premiership for soccer comes in above that,
and then you have the big North American
which would be baseball NBA and then way above all that.
NFL's around 25 a year.
It's a lot.
But six is considerable.
There's not any, like the second biggest soccer league in the world doesn't do that.
It's still very impressive.
It's bigger than F1.
If you can believe that.
There is that.
So what else are we learning as we get out of these meetings?
Oh, another Frank Baum, Deputy Commissioner Bill Daley,
says he does not believe a June land auction date for the coyote.
The Cowdies Arena Land would allow the league enough time to pivot for relocation ahead of next season.
You decline to clarify if that means the league needs to make a call in Arizona before that day.
Would you make the comment if you're declining to clarify what it means?
Yeah.
I mean, here's what we know.
Reporters are asking about the coyotes, and rightfully so.
They've got an interested buyer in Salt Lake who has way too much money and a rank that will be suitable for a few years before a new one gets built for the Olympics that are going back.
there.
Great.
We're just waiting.
We're just waiting.
Move them.
More from Chris Johnson on it.
The last paragraph really of note.
Seems to be an indication where they're likely to remain where they are for next season.
So if you want one more trip to the mullet, guys, we could do it.
I'm in.
I'm in.
Yeah, it was a whole of time.
I want to go for a week, though.
This is flying in and out bullshit.
Well, you could have stayed for a week.
I think you were worried about having been stuck for a week.
if you missed that flight you would have been there for a week
it could have hung out it was right there for you could have gone to houston's had that beef dip
oh hats off could have went to Vegas with the boom boom could have gone to Vegas boom
didn't we go to a place called like cold beer and burgers or something like that
cold beer and cheeseburgers great spot and there's water over and uh by my place
god I'd rally god because I could sit outside they just kind of open the window so I could smoke
there and I'm actually not inside
I got everything on top.
I just drink the light shed.
All right.
What else have we got, Jack?
Where are we at?
Oh, in Edmonton last night, the only visit of the Habs.
What a long road swing for them.
Oilers fans, they must be so happy.
They eke one out against the Habs.
It was 2-0 Oilers.
Habs tied it two.
Then they parade to the penalty box the rest of the way,
including like three and a half minutes of overtime.
Oilers pull out an overtime win.
dry saddle from mac david everyone's got to be thrilled right let's go to edmonton what do we got
oh oh ryan smith in there geez looking samenko being a piecemate piecemaker right
i thought colcalfield was in trouble with some friendly fire boys
i love hockey i came through with the geez a lunging left
Rice Smith with the left here.
Look at that.
Have a seat.
That was the right.
You're right.
Yeah, sir.
No, it's McDavid here in the dark blue.
Oh, I see.
Watch him.
He comes in with a lunging left.
Yeah,
he's more of a slap though.
He came in with a this.
Here's my chin.
Yeah.
Oh, my gosh, what's happening?
Pop.
It's cool on.
You hate to see it.
That beautiful new rink.
Hate to see it.
Is this what the $22 beers do to people?
I guess so.
I don't know, man.
Classy.
Marty Natchez came in one on four last night.
What do you do when it's one on four?
Probably just dump it in, right?
Wrong.
You're Marty Natchez.
Knitsov helper.
He's new there, too.
Carolina's looking like a beast all of a sudden of these two ads, fellas.
They bring in Gensel.
Gensel.
the puck.
You're in the NHL.
The aisles have cooled off, Dean.
They were in a plows spot a couple weeks ago.
We're talking about them.
I'm not sure.
I see what Lou sees.
Yeah, we haven't for a few years now.
No, it's not ideal.
Sorry, Lou.
Let's look at the slate tonight.
Sorry, though.
Three non-flames games.
You got Austin Matthews.
he's against Alachovetchkin at 530.
We have, well, I don't know what to say about that game.
Dallas is way better than those idiots.
And Minnesota against Daly, Minnesota's on a nice little run here,
but just because of the Nashville heater,
it really doesn't seem to.
They might catch Vegas.
Come on.
Don't keep them pumped up.
They need to get points to help us out.
They're playing well.
And three back of Vegas, right?
Minnesota.
Yeah, I think they played one more game.
So, yeah, let's call it four.
but yes, they're not out of it by any stretch.
It's just they'd probably be in a playoff spot
if not for that run from Nashville,
is the point.
And LA is not too far about the most.
So it has nothing to do with Nashville.
If Nashville wasn't on that run,
Vegas wouldn't be the closest.
So it has ever been to be the last year.
And if Florida didn't win the first 20 that they won,
they wouldn't be in the playoffs.
And if Pittsburgh had beaten Chicago,
Florida wouldn't have gotten a playoffs last year.
And Rhett wouldn't think Burroughs' deal was a good one.
She'll play this game anyway.
Oh, okay.
Baseball's back.
How did you guys like the Major League Baseball opener?
Love it.
So good.
Do you want to tell me about the teams?
Show you, Otney.
Oh, maybe.
Now, this was made for Dean, Rhett,
because you're a little, I think most people are,
what are talking about here.
They're in Korea to open the season.
I believe it's some like 4 a.m. first pitch.
So when Dean is waking up,
wide awake,
Doom scrolling rather than sleeping.
He had the first Major League Baseball game
with the regular season yesterday.
Like when you wake up at 2.30,
today technically.
You immediately turn on your phone
and get to the doom scrolling?
Not immediately.
I just kind of look at it.
It's calling.
As soon as I do go to it
and then the light hits my fat face,
I'm going to be awake.
What about the blue box?
No, I'm going to, I'm going to,
I'm going to do it.
All right, just do it.
Because clearly I'm not going back to sleep.
Not going back to sleep.
They'd watch some baseball instead.
Yeah.
And back in North America, we are still doing spring training, which means we have hilarious things happening.
This is the Royals and Giants, I believe.
Center field.
And it gets by the center fielder, Mungia.
And we may have a tie game.
Here he comes.
Oh.
Here's a throw hole.
This game is time.
In the park home run.
Welcome back, baseball. We've missed you.
In the ninth, the idiot, center fielder.
Yeah.
Going to lay out.
Jobs run line.
He doesn't want to go back to single A, Rhett.
Jesus.
The sneaky thing about the Grafruit League and or Cactus League,
after the fifth, no one's there,
including the good players.
They've already showered, done their media, and left.
Like, it's...
That's a gig.
That's a hell of a gig, man.
I'm telling you.
This came from the saddle home a few nights ago.
You know how they do the Timbits hockey?
I think they're bringing in some U-11s,
you 13s here now that we're closer to the end of the season.
And I think they're doing a breakaway competition of sorts.
Let's have a look.
You can notice the energy board.
We're in Calgary here.
Nice little deep and finish.
And have you seen a cellie like that before?
The worm, Rhett.
I've never seen the worm.
This is...
I've got to dive.
Wow, the slow-mo, too.
That is awesome.
And that's before the flood, right?
I mean...
Oh, yeah, totally, right.
Fresh sheet, you could really milk that thing.
Another couple squirms out of it.
High-skill game these days, Rhett.
Good work.
Had a boy, kid.
Now, you got the shoveler a dirt bike.
What was the thinking here?
She needs to get gritty again.
She's got to get out there doing stuff.
Much fancy pants in the round.
Yeah.
So fancy.
Less time in the malls.
More on the great outdoors.
Here we go.
Fresh air.
Good night.
Yeah.
Oh.
I love the scream.
Getting the grid out of her teeth.
Yes.
Uh-huh.
That's a big motorbike.
Like, you got to get a slower.
Yeah.
And a big jump for what looked like a first.
ride.
Adult.
Figure it out yourself.
There is a lot of that sort of Darwin
Awards vibe to these clips.
This guy is a professional.
He's a nature photographer, Dean.
Just watch.
Hey, Tom.
It's there with Antonio.
This one right here is.
Shit.
And he's mad.
He's like,
sh, guys, quiet.
Try to shoot here.
Well, who throws the,
The rock.
Someone trying to help.
Think so?
Oh, 100%.
Put a splash near that crock to distract it or to wake this clown up.
Oh my God.
That's a large, large crock.
Again, croc just wants to have a day.
That's his house.
Just trying to chill out here.
Netflix and chill.
And this tattooed idiot is getting in my business.
Um, now what's your workout regime, right?
Do you like a good protein shake after?
Do you, do you have five meals the day you work out?
How do you, how do you fulfill your protein and carb needs on workout days?
Well, I'm a carnivore, so, uh, just extra meat.
Lots.
Steak.
It's a big thing for, like, high school athletes, collegiate athletes, your metabolism is so high
when you're young, you really got to fuel this, this muscle growth.
So let's, uh, we're doing a protein shake.
tip from a TikToker here.
It looks like the muscle growth is going well for this fellow.
Let's see what he's eating.
I use the game break for Division I football and also in the NFL.
Let's get it.
We're just shot off with a cup of Fair Live milk.
Hoover's milk.
Your favorite protein doesn't really matter the flavor or anything.
What's your flavor for protein you like that?
I'm a vanilla guy.
Okay.
I got a smores.
There's a potassium and healthy carbs.
Yeah, nice.
One scoop of your favorite peanut butter, good fats, good proteins.
Love it.
Perfect.
Yeah.
Oh, really.
Got to go side.
Outs.
Outs.
That's, ooh, geez.
It's going to get thick now.
One medium-sized tilapia filet.
What?
That's disgusting.
Is that a fish?
Did he just sneak a tilapia in there?
Oh, and some raw eggs.
Maybe raw eggs make some sense.
Oh, like, are you making food for your dog?
Jeez.
Healthy fats.
Mm-hmm.
Then we're just gonna add a little bit of apple juice.
That's just a little bit of kerosene.
Palapia is not mixing in as well as drop in some dead batteries.
I don't understand that-
Probably thought it was gonna be chunky.
It's pretty smooth.
Yeah, it's smooth.
Cheers.
It's pretty smooth.
So I probably know what you're thinking, right?
This man is putting a fish in his protein shakes.
Yeah, that's true.
I never really like eating a bunch of food.
So this would be like my last meal before I go to bed.
Take a lot of effort.
Or die.
Food and stuff like that.
So I just throw it all in a shake.
Apple juice at the end kind of really covers up the fish flavor.
But you have healthy protein, healthy fats, essential amino acids.
You've got everything and you need in that bad boy.
It literally tastes like chocolate and apple juice.
Literally.
Let me know what you think in the comments below how it tastes.
Yeah, no, we're good.
Thanks.
Not going to be able to do that.
Yeah, sorry.
We'll have to read someone else's comments there.
Talapia.
Yeah, the splash of apple juice at the end really covers up the two tins of sardines
and the tilapia fillets.
I'm not convinced the tilapia's the cleanest of fish that you want to be
corking back.
I don't know what kind of fish I would be okay with in there, right?
To be honest.
Yeah,
in there,
but I,
and what are you talking about?
It's food without having to chew.
What kind of shit are you got on the goal?
You can't,
you got no time for chewing?
Have a seed, dude.
That's part of life.
Sit down.
My advice would be to stay away from the tilapia,
especially in the shake.
Okay.
Dr. Retz weighed in.
That's good.
There we go.
Finally, boom, you left your house, you didn't tell us.
What the fuck?
Last night.
I've seen you do this routine before.
I don't know if you doubled your meds or what, but look at boom.
He is jacked here.
Who gets out of the city?
I do love the oil.
You're so excited to get back to Edmonton.
This is what happens.
Usually wind them up pretty good.
And then this is going to get a lot.
I'll take my gear off.
Yeah.
People are just thinking crazy.
And people are really biased.
Yeah, they're wild up.
It takes a while.
What a motivator.
Smack that chicken a month.
What does that say?
I caught rabies at an oiler game?
I caught syphilis at an oiler's game.
I caught the face of my nose.
I caught the hit.
Oh, no.
Jeez.
You're winning them over, Dean.
You're doing great.
I'm trying.
Yeah, get going.
Well, boom.
It's only just so long in the TV timeout.
Oh, I got another one.
Same shirt.
Same shirt here.
You know what?
You want to mix it up, Dean?
I have very low self-esteem.
But I'm thankful I'm not this dude.
Oh, geez.
And then Evander Kane here once.
Yeah, okay.
Thanks, Evander.
And that's something, eh?
Dean,
that shouldn't even tell us?
Come on, man.
Well, I know you guys want to come.
Hustles?
I knew you guys would want to make the road trip with me.
And I listened to a lot of audiobooks.
So it would have been impolite.
Jabber and he doesn't need you.
Yeah.
That's not fair.
I show this to my kid.
And I said, hey, that's, he said, why's Mr. Boomer on TV?
Literally.
Yeah.
Watch this last time.
Who was that?
Boomer.
What was he doing?
I thought you cheered flames, but.
Good idea.
Spinning image, Dean.
That's your doppelganger, bud.
Trick the kid.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
That face, brought to you by Village Honda.
Village Honda, huge selection of pre-owned vehicles,
all makes, all models, all budgets over 90 units on site.
Access to over 500 more inside the dealership group make Village Honda your one-stop
automotive destination in Calgary.
They're worth the trip, Village Honda, located on the Northwest.
Ottawa in the northwest
Ottawa.
There you go.
Dan's where you find it.
Up there in the end of the Northwest
that's right.
I've actually never been to that ring.
Nor have I.
I went for a Raptors preseason game a couple of years ago.
It's really revitalized
the down town.
I'm sure it's nice, right?
Yeah, it's quite nice.
There's a hotel attached to it.
Yeah.
Change the city.
They still got the mall up there?
Not near there, but yeah.
Remember the Fantasy Land Hotel?
Big mall.
Well, I remember hearing about it.
I just wonder if it's still happening.
Yeah, they ate all those.
Yeah.
Do you get in fights there as well?
I assume.
Yeah, it's a bit.
Go get some colonel's popcorn.
Mm.
Just start fighting.
Some pickles panic.
You want to go?
I don't know.
Wetzel's pretzels.
Wetzel's.
pretzels on my buddy. My buddy's got
Wetzel's pretzels. Take a picture of me
beside the Wetzels pretzels.
Who is it? Free plugs?
Wetzel's pretzels.
Do you make homemade
pretzels? Never in my life.
Yeah, either of I. But I
can't be that hard.
It's dough and then you just
twirl it and throw it in the oven.
I'll tell you what, this Wetzel's pretzels
guy's got figured out. Let's
Hover rack it, Dean. When do Boomers
Buns? When does that launch?
you know it's been a while
I haven't made
your phone
fake
I've never seen a bun come out of your oven
so I don't even believe that you know what you're doing
code what are we talking about
it is wink
how about some dentistry with no needles
unless you like needles do you love getting needles
jammed in your
if you ask if you go
when you go
to outdoor
they might be able to help you
but you don't have to happen
Find a needle back.
I'd rather just not use the needle, though.
Guys, I hate to ask because I know that it's not really what you do.
But instead of the pain-free laser, could you grab some gardening tools and just start and ramming them into my face?
Yeah.
Just like get a hammer and like one of those, like the thing that you use to dig out dandelions, just get it right back there and just go to town.
Really have a adder.
I guess you could ask.
Or you could use the Salele laser, which is pain free.
It's not intrusive.
I mean, it's really the state of the art stuff.
It's the way things are going.
No needles, no drills, no stress.
An excellent solution for people who,
whether it's a dental phobia or maybe you avoid the dentist because you just,
you can't do it.
You'll be relaxed.
It's comfortable.
It's pain free.
You're back to your day in minutes.
And in addition to that, the salaya laser is also used to treat snoring.
Two 15 minute treatments, increase the tension in the soft palate,
reduces snoring, non-surgical pain free.
So if you do, if you know you snore,
if you think you snore or if somebody will confirm to you,
yeah, you do.
There's two things.
You're annoying that person.
And the other side is you're not getting the sleep that you need.
You're not getting quality sleep.
You're not getting the right amount of sleep.
The depth, what do you call the rem?
You're not getting the depths of REM.
that you need. Oh, you need that rem. That's the good stuff,
dude. Got to have that rim. You'll feel
better. People around you feel better.
They're happier. Everything, everything changes
for the better. Go and talk to
Dr. J. Patel at Outdoor Dental. Outdoor.
Dental is the website.
And
you got two 15 minutes,
you got two blocks in your life of 15 minutes
that you can bet you do.
I bet you do.
Then you can be reming rather than watching
Tony at 4 a.m.
That's right.
Yeah, that's what I would do.
I was going to send you some sleep study stuff, Dean, but.
Really?
I don't want to make you depressed.
More than I already am.
That was like when me at the old shop, like, hey, we've got this new sponsor on.
They're going to offer you this package is worth a lot of money.
You can go get your heart tested.
Rather not, no.
You really want to know that stuff, right?
Spoiler alert.
The roll of the nice, baby.
Let's do our betway bets.
Let's do our betway bets.
We got just a twosium of games tonight.
But with Betway, that's how you get excited about it.
You don't need a whole raft of games.
Just got to get in on it.
With Betway, you can get a free bet of up to $200 if your first bet loses.
Create a new account.
Scan the QR code on the screen and redeem your bonus.
Place a bet.
No minimum amount required.
If the bet loses, you'll get a refund of up to $200.
and then you use that money to bet on your favorite sports.
This offer is only available outside of Ontario.
So let's take a look, see what we've got tonight.
I've taken two of the three games, Toronto at Washington, Washington.
Remember you're back home after a long road trip.
They were just out here and all that.
Leif's money line win and a Nielander point is what I'm going with.
New Lenders.
He's been good.
He's been good.
Pretty consistent.
And I like the Leafs in that game after a loss against Philly last night.
And you mentioned
very disparaging comments
about the Arizona coyotes.
I think you called them losers.
I call them bleeping losers, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
They're in Dallas.
Give me a stunt.
Now, there's not a lot of value
because obviously Dallas is heavily favored.
Right.
But I'm going to take the Stars money line
and Schmaltz,
old schmaltzy on the coyote side
to get at least a point.
He has 13 points in his last nine games.
Oh, heater.
He and Clay,
and old Clay,
Clay Keller playing pretty well right now.
So it's a bit of a, and you know what?
These here, when you go into the Betway app,
look for the pre-built bets.
Pre-built, because you're not going to be able to build that yourself,
I don't think.
But it's already done for you.
So give me the Stars, Moneyline win,
and a Schmaltz point for getting over the plus.
Give me a plus 110 for that one tonight.
I've got some blends as well here, friends.
I like the Leafs on the road against those very
underwhelming capitals, Toronto wins in regulation, and we hit the over.
Plus 2.30.
Over five and a half, that is.
I also love the storyline of Ovechkin against Austin Matthews.
I'm going full sucker mode.
If they both score plus 3.30, be fun to see.
Well, they can both shoot.
Certainly can't.
So there you go. That's our Betway bets of the day.
You can use them.
You can use your own, but check it out.
And again,
Right now with that QR code.
It's a great time to get involved.
If you haven't been already, create that new account, get that QR code,
redeem your bonus, place that bet.
And if it loses, you get a refund of up to $200,
which you can then spin into additional bets.
This offer only available outside of Ontario.
It's our buddies at Betway, the official gaming partner, Barnburner,
bet the responsible way with Betway.
Shave and a haircut, two bits.
What's up today, fellows?
Shovel on.
Every day.
A wind is howling outside right now.
Is it?
Coming off Lake Ontario?
What does it sound like?
Like Lake Ewe.
Is it like a...
It's miserable.
Yeah.
Probably we have some sort of kids BS.
Yeah.
I don't know what it is, but there always seems to be something.
Yeah.
How about this?
After today's show,
recording department of discipline with our boy Jay Rose Hill, we have.
Nice.
Yeah.
Andrew Peters on the program.
Big tough.
Doing a little prep last night,
watched him and Big Earn.
Yeah.
Oh, boy.
He's a big boy.
He's from.
Big fellas.
He's from here.
He'll be good
because he's,
he's a great talker.
Well, he had a pod in Buffalo for a while,
didn't he?
Still has it.
Okay.
Yeah, they were doing,
well,
anyway.
Stay tuned for that.
what happened there?
Like was it,
was it,
oh,
I can't tell this story or I'm about to tell this story
and I just realized this is,
it's a shit story.
I'm just going to pull the shoot.
Anyway.
Anyway,
it's great.
Hey man,
Craig Raveh.
Yeah.
Well,
DUG is asking,
what's the weather in Y,
Y, Y, C,
driving there's Thursday and on to trail Friday.
Oh,
it's true.
It's good.
do that pass?
This snow?
He's got to go see it?
The past?
Is it snowing out there, too?
Well, I mean, it's all the southern Alberta.
Maybe it's not bad at the crow's nest pass, but geez, I wouldn't.
Environment Canada says there's snowfall warning in effect until 3.12 a.m. Thursday.
So the next 12, 14 hours, we're in it.
I'm looking at every hour.
It's like a little bit, a little bit.
But you know what?
It also, what it matters more than anything else is.
it's not what is the snow can do what is it going to be for the common man what's it going to be for
d u g yeah you know what d ug is a god damn veteran he's not new to the he's not new to prairie
highways or snow or wind or ground drifting get out of here with that shit ground drift that sounds
scary well that's the most important part has nothing to do with you lose the lines if it's
coming straight if it's coming straight down who the hell cares it's whether it's blown across the
highway or not
I just looked until noon on Saturday where they end the hourly temperatures.
It's expected to snow every single hour between now and that.
Good.
Noon Saturday.
Moisture for the farmers.
We're happy for all the farmers out there.
Go get some.
That's buggerall for DUG.
Grow that barley.
Let's go.
Just load up on.
Or you could hop on coffee and cocaine and get out there, Doug.
Jeez.
Digging in the Adderall.
Doesn't that keep?
His eyes just bouncing out of his.
called g-g-g-g-h-h-g-h-h-g. Gotta get there and see the kid play hockey. How was the kid doing out there?
Kid is good. Kid was one of the top players of the month, I think. Had a hat trick a couple weeks ago.
A position. Got a scholarship. Where's it going? Anchorage. Oh, no way. Yeah. That is awesome.
Mississippi. Yeah, he's pumped. He loves the gators. He's expecting Mississippi weather.
He said for a big surprise.
Yeah.
Don't need to pack much at all.
So bloom and hot down there.
You just traded alligators for King Crabbs.
That's all you've done there.
Awesome.
That's great.
The sea wolves,
I believe.
I still can't figure.
And I don't want to get into it.
Yeah.
Because people ask,
so what do you think about this whole thing with the HAHL and the BCJ?
Like these teams just left and I don't know.
What's going on?
But we were up in wherever we were on the weekend.
And one of the,
there was a hockey team that was staying.
in our hotel.
Yeah.
So I went to the
AJHL website to see,
well, they're here.
Where are they playing?
When are they playing?
What is the playoff series?
What are we looking at?
And neither team is in the AJHL website.
Deleted.
While still being the towns located in Alberta.
Well,
they were intent on finishing the season,
but the AJ said,
no,
let's lop off these games.
And all these other teams that are staying
that would be hosting these teams, you're now going to
have fun selling those gates to the
games that don't exist anymore. So the
Alberta's are going to have a playoff. They'll face
the winner of BC.
Yeah, the, um, that
that's storied Brooks
Spruce Grove, BCJHL
rivalry. Yeah.
I got bad news for you know the ECHL used to stand for.
Yeah, I suppose. The East Coast.
Thanks, Ryan. Yeah.
At a team in Alaska. That's where we got
Jack Michaels from.
The pleasure was all ours.
Pulsating action.
He had it going last night.
Because they scored, because they won in O for time last night.
So he had it wound right up.
Yeah.
Doordash.
I say something.
I certainly could give a shit.
Did we once mention a hockey game?
Like there were 13 last night, right?
we had the nature
we kind of did we talked about
fighting the stands
fillers we talked a little bit
like Columbus played Detroit
yeah we're not talking with that one
okay and
we're mad atop below for not scoring
but we don't know
you know what red it's not too late
because there was some intriguing
stuff that took place last night
the Pittsburgh penguins they got
worked by New Jersey
just when you
Are they going to be able to get it?
No.
They got three wins in their last 10.
Their shit.
They've packed it in.
Over.
Not that you needed any further, but.
Oh, no.
See, this is what a veteran group does pinder.
Okay.
Talk to me.
Sid's not concerned with beaten Jersey in March 19th.
Okay.
We're done.
We're out of the playoff run.
We're going to plummet like a freaking stone here.
We need a player.
We are all in.
we're going to get our manager the highest damn pick we possibly can.
Imagine if Pinder is working in Pittsburgh.
If he was Pittsburgh media covering the penguins,
you'd have a rod going 24-7.
I have to see a doctor.
Nice.
5-2 to the devils?
That's all you do it.
Well done, boys.
So you've got to plan to yourself a big, big tropical vacation the day after the season end.
So lots of distractions.
tell everyone about to get the whole room wound up about this resort in the Bahamas.
Listen, we've all got lots of money.
Look at Gino's made lots for years.
LaTang, myself.
We've got Eric Carlson here.
And we're close.
We'll take you all on the trip.
Don't have this up.
Guys, we're doing daily trip meetings at noon.
Isn't that going to interfere with practice?
Don't worry about practice.
We're doing trip meetings.
So I've lined up some beach volleyball on the Tuesday.
I believe some reporting came out that,
damn it.
Dubus,
Crosby's a penguin forever.
Well,
Cruz's going to be a penguin forever.
Crosby's going to need some youth
to come through that room.
High-end talent.
Yeah.
Cosby knows how he's doing.
He's no dummy.
Go ahead.
Sid.
Culture of losing my ass.
That's a culture of winning right there.
Get yourself a player.
Well, do we need to finish ninth flask?
I'm going to check it here.
I want to be up to date on this.
But you forget.
it's how
Sid's not a
he's not a kid anymore guys
I don't know what it's two years left
I just want to see
because he's got 69 points and 68 games
so he's still great
it's been really good this year
if he manages to finish
point a game or better again
yeah so he's got 6968
he can tie Wayne Gretzky
for the most career points
per game seasons with 19
Jesus
that's
19 years, great career.
Point per game or better in 19.
Maybe.
Hall of Fame.
That's a hot day.
Some might say,
Hall of Fame worthy stuff.
So they are ninth from the bottom right now,
but easily could pass Seattle to get to eighth.
We didn't match,
you all to pull up their socks.
Yeah, they're going the other way, right?
They've got their focus figured out.
Oh, yeah.
Now, Seattle's now lost here.
I'm glad you brought this up, right?
And this is what you usually do.
We get to the end of the show and then you just want to keep going and talk.
Just keep going.
So I'm very prepared for this.
Usually when he's busy, he does this too.
Yeah.
Vegas, we talked about Tampa Bay.
They lose to,
Vegas loses to the lightning.
Point with a pair.
Yeah, yeah.
No, Vegas.
Dayton Hill was not great last night.
Vegas is,
uh,
can you get,
can the flames get that,
uh,
if the Vegas gets out around one pick?
Can they get that if Vegas,
if Vegas misses the playoffs?
Tough to win round one if you're not in the playoffs.
Well, shit.
Conroy, God damn it.
Didn't Conroy think of that?
Should have.
Now, what's McCrador?
Here's the thing.
The Predators on that heater, right?
They're in the, when you're talking Western Conference Wildcard.
13.0 and 2.
They went 8-2 over San Jose last night.
They're five up now on Vegas, right?
There's a bit of some distance there between the Predators and
the golden nights.
Imagine the price
for a Noah Haniffin rental
and you miss the playoffs.
People might change their tune on
how come I did there.
Everyone's imagining Hanof and skating around with a cup
resigning.
But if it's like 19 games and he never
was seen again,
you're a man of, I'm protected first rounder,
a third,
because it wouldn't be a second.
I guess they just be
probably more sour about
missing than what they gave up.
I don't mean them. I just mean how people would view Conroy's side of it.
Oh, sure.
You know.
19 games of Hannafin's worth all that?
Good work.
So where are the,
just calling it up here.
Like Minnesota's three back.
They played an extra game,
but they can get it going Minnesota.
I don't know.
We were looking at it.
They play them twice.
Yeah.
They got two more between Minnesota and Vegas.
There's your three point gap right there.
This isn't what I wanted to start.
when I brought up the fact that we didn't talk about hockey.
Yeah?
It was just an observation.
It wasn't a lead-in.
So Buffalo was in Vancouver last night,
and Rhett, what did you see from Bo Byron?
That was way, no, it's still way too late.
That game started at 10 o'clock.
Couldn't get the game on TV, local blackouts in place.
Quinn Hughes, heavy hit, you can't go down the middle on Vancouver.
Rhett, give us more.
St. Louis.
Did you watch, or did you see?
anything I feel for them because St. Louis is playing a hell of a hockey game.
They got Colorado in town.
Oh, yeah.
They got Colorado in town.
They got a lead.
I think was three, two going into the third period.
They're playing well.
This, hey, look at us.
Making a charge for the playoffs.
We're going to catch those Vegas golden nights.
Bink, bunk, think loss.
Oh, this is.
Miko Ratan, hat trick.
And Ratan made it look like they were just going in off of his say.
He was like, oh, what?
Did that go in?
I was,
I was getting some popcorn.
Did I,
did I tip that in?
Oh,
I did.
He makes it so effortless.
It's like, yeah,
that's Colorado.
We got you.
They're right on the ropes.
Pink, pink,
pink.
Loss.
Did we lose?
We were just winning.
Why are they going to,
why are they high-fiving?
Word out on the street
is that they've done that a fair bit lately.
We've lost.
Yeah.
what do they refer it a lot
I don't remember it being used
as often but and maybe because
the teams couldn't do it but flexing
has been common
and that was the thing it didn't even feel like
they were flexing it's just well okay
it's the third period and we're down
time to go um what do we need here a couple goals
when's the flight and
yeah Shen makes it three to two
Rattinen 36 Rantanin 37
ball game
now red it was point night
Nashville, you love Music City.
We told you San Jose was going to be hung over his shit after a night of Tutsis.
Eight to two.
Roman Yossi won two three.
Holy.
I mean, you can't.
Shut the front door.
Mike Greer has got his boys dialed right.
And how about those red wings?
Left for dead.
Lucas Raymond, final minute of regulation to tie it.
Patrick Kane, first minute of overtime to win it.
game blouses
let's take a look at the blue jackets
here how are you guys doing you guys are right
they got to overtime at least didn't they
yeah they got to overtime again
gave up a goal they were leading
going into the final minute but uh
you know they're not used to that so
it's true that was Detroit
yeah that was uncharted territory
he's going oh they got to be nervous
yeah
how did Edmonton get the power play because they had it
at the end of regulation they had two
they had one latent regulation that
Montreal killed off.
Sorry, with like four or five minutes left.
And then a double minor that no officials arm,
even when in the air.
Joel Army, a double minor.
He skated to the neutral zone.
His stick catches one oiler.
It pops up and catches that comb in the face.
We're reviewing the play for a double minor.
Well, there's no very hand in the air.
Okay, sure.
They give them the four minute power play at the very end of that in overtime.
Stinking German.
Is that what it is?
Isn't there a time when he wasn't going to turn out?
Yeah.
Early on, people do love, you know how people have long memories?
They do love, it's one of the things.
You know how Pinder has a backpack.
Some people have a Pinder backpack.
So when Pinder was kind of crushing the Oilers for paying Leon so much money early on.
Oh, they just got him for less.
That's all.
They remember that over time.
And then when he's winning the art raw, so is he still overpaid Pender?
you fucking idiot.
Tell the deal.
Could have got him for less.
Hanging on to it.
You got to admit,
you got to respect that, right?
If you think someone's
signing their best deal in July,
you're crazy.
You got to lose your leverage.
Come on.
Come on.
Come on.
Come on.
Yeah.
I hope Mike Smith's okay.
He's still an LTIR.
I'll stay.
Yeah.
Brett really wants to go.
This is beautiful stuff.
Should have shut my both.
Yeah.
It's your fault.
Shut the front door.
Hey, you know what?
You get what you deserve, Bucco.
Yeah.
Bucco, I got a question for you.
I've got left over, like some pork meat.
And I bought ribs, but they didn't, they kept that fat, that cap on it.
You know what I mean?
Do you know?
Like back ribs?
Bought baby back ribs, but they weren't trimmed enough.
Yeah, yeah.
I trimmed them myself.
So I got leftover stuff.
What am I going to do with this?
Am I chopping it up?
I, man, I had, on the weekend, we went to a Mexican place, had like kind of real, genuine
like tacos, like the pulled pork, pulled chicken, when they, when they marinate for a long time
and whatever marinade.
And then you put that on the taco.
Oh, shut the front door.
So good.
I was just thinking about what I, because it's cold, it's cold day.
What are we doing?
We're doing something to.
It's a soup day.
It's a soup day.
It's a stew day.
It's something's going in the,
He said in sitting there for a few hours for sure.
I saw a paella being made.
Aaya.
On a TV earlier.
That looked interesting.
Do you need to have one of those big walk?
I would like things.
I don't have one down here.
Isn't there a guy that used to cook with a walk?
He did he's on a show.
Walk with Yan.
Walk with you.
What a show.
I feel like that versus Bob Ross.
You had some good after time viewing.
You know what it was?
You didn't have to worry about
picking up bad habits or seeing anything.
It was just good, wholesome.
simpler time for sure.
And he would wear the t-shirts that would,
there would always be a play on words with walk,
which is spelled W-O-K.
But it sounds a lot like walk, W-A-L-K.
Right.
So he would have,
and at the time it was walk like an Egyptian,
that would be like a T-shirt,
walk the walk, talk the talk, that sort of thing.
hilarious.
So good.
Is it any wonder
was huge?
I don't know if the cooking
was any good,
but those t-shirts.
Chortle.
He used to interact
with the fans that were
with studio fans.
A studio audience?
They love them.
That's what you need to do,
Dean,
when you retire.
Just go into one of those
kitchen show studio audiences.
Retire.
Yeah.
Jack.
When you quit.
When you quit.
When you quit.
Retire from what?
sitting in my house talking to you too.
You're going to need something to do.
This is tying up way too much of your potential.
This is just a continuation of COVID for Dean.
He feels,
he can't leave the house. This is his social leader.
I get a rash from the mask. I just don't leave the house because I got to wear it.
It's the shits.
But remember, because I forgot that they had an audience for Walk with Yan.
Because then Emeril had the live audience.
And he was huge.
You know,
had the essence.
I'm going to put in 9,000 cloves of garlic.
Yay!
The people eat that shit up.
That's what we need to do.
Live studio audience cooking show.
That is what you need to do.
All right.
I need a location.
A kitchen.
Jack can come to your house.
Everything's there.
I have an idea, actually.
And I've had it for a while.
But here's the rub.
Red, it's me and you.
cooking show the only hang up is you don't live here tells that got to do with it well we we
would do it together we would be you and me we'd cook you'd want to be in the same kitchen it
there'd be taught would there be things right there'd be meal prep and we'd there'd be bring on a guest
every once in a while um so i had it's gone through my head but the the you not live in here
thing makes it hard for us to do i reached out to you to ass hats over the last two weeks
weeks, there's been this much response.
He's ready to move back.
It sounds like, Dane. I'm not sure if I believe it.
Not with your two shitty ass.
I'm going to have to talk to the boss, apparently.
I know.
Jack, is he allowed to move back?
Jack's not even at work today.
Did you notice that he's sitting at home?
Ever since he found out he was the boss, now he's pulling rank.
Fuck you, fat boy.
Yeah, feet are up.
He's pulling rank on a foot of Snow Day.
I'll tell you that for free.
Bastard.
Tomorrow, hey.
Non-game day.
Non-game day.
Frank Sarah Valley.
What day is tomorrow?
I'm actually confused.
Tomorrow's Thursday?
Yeah.
That's good.
Yeah, tomorrow's Thursday.
I believe Frank Serra Valley is going to come on the show tomorrow because he couldn't on Monday.
That's right.
He had travel.
issues.
What did he say?
Oh, and you know what?
I don't want to give it away, but he's going to have some, uh,
flames related content tomorrow.
Frank Bob.
That he will share with us on the program.
How about it?
That'd be good.
You want to, uh, hit the menu and get the hell out of here or what?
Oh, let's, well, and I was, I was going to say that's the other thing.
I must have to get somewhere.
So let's keep bugging them.
You could, uh, you could put some meat in the oven and let it sit all day or
maybe it's just easier to DoorDash.
Because it's super easy.
You go to the DoorDash app.
You start looking around,
what do we feel like tonight?
It's all there.
The key to that,
what you're saying there,
without interrupting too much.
Without interrupting,
exactly.
Everyone can get what they want.
Huh.
It's true.
Because with the double dash,
you can order for multiple restaurants
or stores in the same delivery
without additional delivery fees.
Everybody gets what they want and need.
I'm rethinking this whole going in the kitchen thing.
scrapping this whole cooking show idea.
It'll just be you and me sitting around
on our gotch ordering DoorDash.
That's a hell of the show.
I'd watch that.
We're going to pitch it to DoorDash.
I think they might be interesting.
We've got a great idea.
For a limited time,
25% off and zero delivery fees.
In your gotch, does it have to be?
Yes.
That's the thing.
We're just wondering about viewership.
Can we get some robes?
No.
Yes.
The gotch.
On your first order of $15 or more, 25% off if you use the promo code, Nation 25, Nation 25, Nation 25 to get it going with DoorDash.
What's on the menu pender for DoorDash?
I got a little bit for everyone, just like DoorDash.
We're going to start out east with Toronto, Washington, Matthews and Ovechkin.
Oh, Rhett, that snow tells you to stay in and watch two of the world's greatest.
They're hard to tell, but you see the trees there?
They're whipping.
It's not good.
No.
They don't have green buds on them yet.
I'm noticing that.
Minnesota, L.A. 8 o'clock.
We'll see if the wild can try to reel in one of the wild cards.
They've been good.
For the hoopsters, Sacramento at Toronto 530 start.
And finally for you, Dean, it is a 405 a.m. first pitch from Seoul.
It is the Padres and the Doyers.
Jamaica of the season.
There are a bunch of stuff going on in Jamaica?
Jamaica me crazy.
I don't think it's good there right now.
Are the Raptors playing in Toronto?
Yes.
I'm going.
Calling it?
Today?
Like today you're going.
Why not?
Why not?
Okay.
It's time for some hoops in hardwood.
It's a dimer.
We love to jam and slam.
Dash that for the win with DoorDash.
Again, Nation 25 to get that deal.
A little north.
He and the shoveler are going to.
who can get me
Jam and slam tonight
We know anyone like to get his tickets
Any of the fat cats or bosses?
Tree?
Yeah,
your living wood.
What?
I don't think he likes us.
Oh,
he loves you.
Nothing like you.
Me or at?
What's the March Madness thing?
I see in the chat.
Did we get it?
Is it up for public consumption?
Thanks for retweeting that, Dean,
yesterday.
Really much appreciated.
He's not on his phone much,
Ryan.
That's true.
Never fucking answers.
tied up watching Korean baseball.
I did my bracket.
Good.
You submitted it?
Yeah.
I'm in.
Love it.
Okay.
Did you do a pattern or did you pick?
It was,
it was very just,
what does,
what does the school sound like?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
So you definitely went with Longwood then.
Yeah.
Did anyone see 16 seed Longwood?
How many idiot brackets have Longwood winning the thing?
Because you need some upsets.
You do.
You got to pick one or two.
You don't hit the upsets.
You don't win.
You don't win.
Check our Twitter accounts for the link to get in.
The password is Goosh.
That's a double O.
We're already over 50 one day in and it starts tomorrow.
Let's get her going here.
Let's get her going.
People.
Get it going, people.
Goosh.
Password is Goosh.
I thought you'd like that.
See you, buddies.
