Oh, Mama, I'm along for the money.
How are we doing, everybody?
It's a Monday.
We're into it.
It is a Bar-Burner.
There's Franz East Side Tavern, officiado.
France.
And Ryan Pinder.
How's Franz, Nashville, Tennessee?
You frequent?
I've never frequented, but I'd love to try France.
Fran.
Fran was a neighbor at the lake, at Emma Lake.
Bill and Fran, great people, wonderful people.
So yeah, of course.
I got to think of France.
Beside Tavern, be deadly.
I was wondering about Nashville because watching obviously the series in Nashville,
so everybody, we love Nashville.
We love Nashville.
I was just wondering if, if 2024 us went to Nashville.
And Ryan, you and I were there about a year ago.
Yes, less.
now you and you know what this is a conversation red and i can have you just leave me out of this one
sure um you know because the engine never stops over there high kicker is absolutely still
thumbs up for nashville but i don't i just wonder if we would be able to would we would still enjoy it
we would still have fun uh i wonder if ours would be more like a day all drink early bedtime kind
of a thing how our might be different than maybe say 10 years ago and i'll be honest with you i was
there last march and i don't want to be in those bars after seven eight o'clock yeah it's very busy
last year when we were there for the draft we were at tutzies and you couldn't move and the thing
is to tutsies is what two three stories and it was still shoulder to shoulder i love the afternoon
because i'm there for the music i'm not there for the people and just sloppy bombed ryan
believe we're having a conversation.
If you could just,
you've not been brought back into the conversation.
Yeah.
Just a bunch of drunk hooligans.
You know what I mean, Red?
Yeah.
Like drunk dummies.
What are losers.
All over.
That's right.
All over the place.
High kicking and whoopty do it and all that sort of thing.
I'm not sure.
It's maybe pass me by just a little bit.
Ryan,
you can come back into the conversation.
Oh,
hey, guys.
We were just talking about how much fun we would have if we went to,
if we went to Nashville.
It's a,
it's a legendary spot.
Yeah, it's a great spot.
I cannot wait to return.
And you missed the night at Aldeens,
which was even sanier than Tutsis.
That's where Morgan Wallen just fired a chair off the top deck, I think.
Probably not the best move.
That was, yeah, Eric Church has a new bar there.
I believe it was Eric Church's bar.
A third story bar stool could do some damage we've thrown off.
I didn't see that.
Legitly landed about four or five feet beside a,
a couple of police officers.
Not ideal.
Who are out of them out?
I'm not sure.
The police.
Yeah, I'm not sure.
I think when you're Morgan Wallen and you're in a bar in Nashville,
you draw a bit of attention to yourself.
I'm guessing it's probably one of those things.
But you know what?
My understanding is a little subdued yesterday
about 10 minutes after game time was after the final buzzer.
I guess Broadway was a little bit kind of.
A little somber.
Now, I don't like, like I said, I don't like crowds.
Yeah.
And I don't like getting stuck in my car.
So if I attend a game and there's a couple goal differential,
let's hit the road here, kids.
Yeah.
We'll beat traffic.
Yeah.
Kids love that, by the way.
They really love beating traffic.
They don't want to see the end of the game.
You're right, dad.
Let's beat that traffic.
Yeah.
So if that were the case yesterday and you're a Predators fan
and you're going to beat the traffic with dad
because he doesn't like people or traffic.
You'd have left the 3 to 1,
feeling pretty good about an even series,
headed back to Vancouver.
Now, hey, anybody's series?
Here we go.
You may have,
maybe you don't turn the game on in the car to listen to it.
Maybe you put on some music.
Kids are on their phones or whatever.
You get home, go about your bed,
maybe have some dinner,
go whatever,
maybe tuck yourself in for a sleep.
Wake up this morning, go to the office.
Be so excited for games.
six you got your game six tickets one of the game six tickets go on say now wait can't wait what
what i was i was at the game it was three to one yeah did you say hashtag it was three one
well no i left with three minutes left yeah i say almost to the end like beyond the final tv time
out and everything i stayed till almost the very end that's uh that's a that's a kick in the balls
Oh, yeah.
Big time ball kick.
Big time ball kicker right there in Nashville.
Yeah, and we'll get into it in the Pinder report,
but we got a Patrick Stephan kind of vibes around this because they had a post on an empty net.
In a lot of cases, the empty net goal is kind of underrated.
Yeah.
We don't talk about, because chances are you get an empty net goal, the game is over.
Oh, yeah, like absolutely in that circumstance yesterday.
Yeah.
The game is over.
But yeah, they plunk one and not to, you know, spoiler alert, but that's,
that's how close it is.
How's your backhand?
Clank off the post.
Ding.
And then Brock Bessar goes to work.
Brock Lobster.
You didn't sleep a lot last night.
Oh.
If you're Colton Sissons, yeah.
Yeah.
And Brunette and Trotzy.
Trotsy looked sour in the booth.
Goodness.
He was up top and the,
wherever the brass are.
And it was like,
woo,
that's a surly trots right there.
Yeah.
As you would expect.
Yeah.
Because two,
two,
like you were saying,
I mean,
you got the third goalie in.
You don't know the availability
of one and two.
Yeah,
like you'd feel like
you're up in the series
in a way if you could be split.
Yeah.
And instead it's like,
oh shit,
like we're staving now.
That's full stave mode now
for the press.
senators as Bessor has a hat trick gets two in the final three minutes when did that uh what time was
the second one scored two and change left yeah 248 or something like that 249 left and then uh eight
seconds left they tie it go to overtime and then a minute 18 in alliance lindhock overtime yeah all of a sudden
valuable asset you're still stunned right if you're the predators you're still kind of yes
picking picking shit up what okay listen we've got this we're fine all right let's get everybody get
get a shift under their belts and let's let's go it's still a game still our game boing damn it
minute 18 i didn't even get a shift in overtime i didn't even get out there fuck yeah so how much
how much credit people already hey you have to credit the connects you have to give them credit
they came back you have to you have to as you said it's their it was our
C-Labs. It was their third goalie in net.
The Latvian.
Is that what it is?
Yeah, like Urbe. Archer's.
Archer's C-Lovs.
I guess so.
Sure.
They love their hockey there. God, do they love it?
Yeah.
What else?
Yeah, or Nashville?
Specifically, Latvia.
Nashville, it's growing, but there is nothing close to hockey in Latvia.
Other sports soccer is right there, or it's the second most popular.
Like, Latvia, it's far and away hockey.
Nothing else is even close.
Handball.
Is it to Baltic,
It is Baltic, yeah.
Grieg is wonderful city.
How about it?
How about it?
So that was, I mean, there's, there's, and here's the thing.
I was telling my kid this morning.
She's like, so what?
So get me, what happened?
What happened?
And as well, this series three to one.
And this one actually over.
It ended yesterday.
What?
Handshakes.
And then this one's three to one and this one's three to one.
And this was, are we, uh, we all, we boast.
And we love how great round number one is.
We need some work done here, fellas.
We need, yeah, some guys to get it together.
or we're going to have some very short series.
We could have seven or eight series
ending five or less.
And already that Florida one could have been done.
Yeah, although I did like the way Tampa looked.
That's the first time they've had the better goalie in the series.
If they want to keep that, that would help.
Yeah.
There was still one kind of softy on.
And even there, because they were up three to nothing.
And then whenever that goal from Ekman Larson,
now it's four to three.
I think it was a little tense there, a little pucker.
Jesus, these, I still think obviously,
we all think Panthers are probably going to find a way here.
But even those bloody Panthers,
we need this.
We need this. This series has maybe been the most disappointing
based on how good we thought it would be versus how it's gone.
But if Tampa wins in Florida today,
now you're going back to the bolts home ranked,
a win away from saw and things off.
Like this still could be a series,
but stating the obvious,
we need to see a good Tampa performance tonight.
Yeah.
And for there to be serious drama,
one team is going to have to be
with their backs against the wall.
In that respect,
we have a lot of options.
We have many candidates then.
Yeah.
For teams to come back from a 3-1 series lead.
I would bet though,
and I don't have the numbers,
but I would bet the math is not in their favor.
No one has a 2-2 series.
No,
Dallas could make it a 2-2 series tonight,
but wouldn't it be wild
if we had five or less for every series in the first?
Would it be wild if we didn't have a game?
It's gross. I don't like it.
Yeah, that would be sad.
Yeah, and look, it's, you know, a week ago,
we were talking about how Winnipeg was the worst possible
matchup for Colorado and Colorado's goaltending was shit.
And like, these storylines change very quickly.
But at this point, we need at least a couple of these series to go along.
Okay, so let's go through it.
Yes.
Of these series that are 3-1, and we'll exclude Dallas, obviously,
because that serves two to one.
And we'll also exclude the capital.
Rangers series. Again, thanks for getting in there, Washington.
Yeah, that's great. I really appreciate you for. I'm going to noted, like,
maybe that's why a team with like a minus 40 goal differential or something close to that,
probably didn't belong in here. But hey, congrats on your, uh, you know,
take it to the dance. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I went how we thought it went. It would go.
Quickly. That was another one of my kids. She's like, well, the Red Wings would have been better than
that. She's right. And I think she, I think she's, I think you're,
right yeah i think you're probably right but i had pat kane on broadway against that crew i mean yeah
the detroit building would have been rocking oh you know all right sometimes you see that hey when teams
have a big push it gets just getting to the playoffs that was their big win you know they they expended
all their energy all of their emotion was in just getting in and then they had no chuckling grin
either that or they were uh playing the best they could and they're not good or badly or the other
teams soiled themselves. Yeah, that could be too. So yeah, we lacking some drama. We have the
potential for a lack of drama here in round number one. Who's coming back? You're going to go through
them. Okay, we'll go through it. I see Jack's calling it up there. You see it. Let's start in the West.
Now, we've already excluded Dallas Vegas at the top of your screen because that's not a 3-1 series lead.
It might be, but it's not yet. Now, Colorado up on Winnipeg, three to one. This has been a drubbing in a lot.
Colorado has scored with great ease against the presumptive Vesna favorite,
Carter Hellebuck.
Colorado was up 4-1 in the game there,
and they were still buzzing around Winnipeg, Winnipeg.
Bantam team.
So we can, I mean, we can go through it and then hit the individual.
So do we have hopes here on this one having some drama?
Not really, no.
I definitely think Colorado continues to Colorado.
Colorado is heads and tails better than Winnipegote.
our heads and shoulders, but yes.
If they had tails, they'd be up there too.
So again, now Vancouver.
We were flipping coins yesterday.
That's how close it is.
You got it as a coin toss to Winnipeg and Colorado?
Yeah.
So how did I work with the Vancouver series?
Because it's three to one.
And in game one, they had to come back.
Didn't they score two?
Yep.
They're down one-nothing and they went bang, bang,
goals 12 seconds apart, place them up bananas.
Weren't super impressive in game two, I think,
either, but got the win.
Lost game two.
Sorry, lost game two, game three.
The Smith comes in.
They eke one out.
And then it was...
I think this is a series, too.
You think there's some...
I do two because of the goaltending.
And Nashville, to be fair,
has done a very good job of just minimizing
any sort of chances against Soros,
who is the best goal he left in this series,
because Demko won't be back this series
and maybe even beyond.
So I think I give
tons of credit to Vancouver for not quitting and for being in a spot to close it out.
But I also wouldn't be surprised if Nashville just sort of continued to wet blanket the shit out of them and got more saves.
Edmonton is up three,
one one one on the Kings.
You held them on one goal and you didn't win.
That was, yeah, and it was a non-event fest in a lot of ways last night.
Skinner gets the shutout one, but I don't know how much.
I'm not seeing what I thought or was hoping to see out of L.A.
Yesterday might have been the closest to it, right, like in the sense that.
out shooting them out.
They deserve to win maybe.
I don't know, but you score zero goals.
One power play really, right?
That was it for,
if you can hold the Oilers to zero even strength goals,
you probably should win.
They did not.
No.
That feels like a missed opportunity.
And for the Oilers, now it's okay.
If we win at home, we don't have to get on a plane.
We can just hang out here and host round two.
Well, I guess, I don't know what happens.
I might have to go to Vancouver.
But point being, you don't want to have to get back and go to L.A.
Two more flights, long travel, get rested.
this tournament is about staying healthy
and taking care of business as early as you can.
That's what crushed you guys in 04.
Ret.
He played so many more games in Tampa when you showed up in the final.
7-67.
I just think Edmonton's been better.
That too.
Yeah, they have been better.
Because even the Kings, the one win comes in overtime.
And they blew a big league in that game too.
Florida, Tampa, as mentioned,
the Panthers yesterday scoring that game was,
6-3. So yeah, lightning convincing victory.
But so what kind of hope here?
Out of the east, it's, I would say it has more hope than the others.
I agree with you, pal. Yeah.
Which leads us to, we'll end with the, we'll Carolina, New York Islanders zero drama.
Yeah, that feels like an inevitability.
Congrats on getting your one win Islanders.
You've been heavily outplayed, no chance.
And the one area we thought you were good, you've been leaning on
Varlamov, not Sorokin.
Yeah.
He's not good in game three.
Moving to the Boston, Toronto series.
Oh my God.
This is when people,
a guy,
you hate the Leafs,
I'll always want the Leafs in the playoffs.
Just because.
Yeah,
for this.
It brings a circus and carnival-like atmosphere.
They're going to be great.
You know,
this team's going to be different.
It's all going to change.
It's all.
And it never does.
Or it's the,
they're losers.
They'll never win again.
Like it's just the most polar,
rising team in
it's burning
hey in Toronto right now
shit's on fire living yeah you heard it was a big
market now you're starting to
really get the flavor
like Mitch Marner has been traded
to every team in the league by now in Toronto
like yeah there's all kinds of
trade offers out there I guess
I didn't even know if he was going to play
man
man man missing skate today
he's ill
interestingly, Marchandes as well.
This is a disaster.
They've looked their worst in the biggest moments,
this franchise with these big four forwards.
It's not that they aren't good enough.
It's just that when you get laid in series
and things get a little bit harder
and you have to be good,
they look listless many times.
It's baffling.
And look, that's a flawed roster.
Their D-Core sucks.
I think they have one top four defensemen.
That's insane.
They're doing patchwork goaltending.
Yeah, the D.
I mean, like literally, I didn't think they have one top four defensemen.
Morgan Riley, who's playing more than he should.
He should be a two, three.
And then it's like Benoit and Edmondson and these guys like, no, no, no, those are third pair guys.
TJ's not looking.
TJ's all these scratch for the first two games, three games of this series.
Giordano is over 40.
He's hardly played.
You know, I think Timothy Lilligrant is probably a five.
They don't have more than one top four defensemen.
And it's just, it feeds that narrative of like,
like you got to break up the big four.
And I think in years past,
that was overblown.
But they just,
if you are one year away from free agency with Mitch Marner,
look at your glaring needs on the blue line and in net.
And they've just been dry up in the cap for a half decade.
If you could turn them into a young defenseman that's cheap and it takes them
cap space,
I could understand them doing it.
And you can survive with the lineup they have if they get it done and they don't.
Do you know what I mean?
Like if you're going to have a top four,
and they're going to go out and score five a game in the playoffs.
Okay.
Maybe you can survive not having the D and the goal.
Totally.
They don't do that either.
You're right.
It's one or the other.
You can't have,
you can't put your all of your eggs and those four guys to say,
in that basket and say,
oh, well,
we're going to outscore teams.
They're not going to be able to handle us offensively.
Okay.
That's fine.
Yeah.
Except you're not.
Yeah.
And unfortunate with Nealander being, you know,
I guess the foggy sort of,
confusion around it. Is it migrants? Is it not? He called it a personal issue. Lots of people
have reported it's migraines. But I mean, you could have used them in the first three games where
you probably should have been up to one coming out of them. Never mind you didn't have your second
best player. And he's clearly that right now. Yeah, because it was last week. And I had mentioned,
I think we all could leaves have played pretty good. This series has been actually a very good series.
Self-inflicted wounds. It's not like Boston's own. And then there was that game, game four. And they
were not good in that game. I was going to grab the goals retro just to, as a veteran NHL
defenseman like you are, to get your, your comments and thoughts, because it's horrendous
at any level. The first goal, well, we've got Ryan Reeves on the wall with the puck, and he's
going to lug this thing. He's going end to end. And Joel Edmondson is standing in front of the net.
He's like, oh, shit, this could be some odd map. Let's go. Let's get our points here, Reeves, except
Reeves turns it over.
And then James Van Reamsdike is alone in front,
has enough time to not just shoot it fast.
I'm going to stand, take a look,
pull backhand and put it between your legs.
I forget which,
I think it was the past or not goal,
where Jake McCabe decides,
I'm going to lay this guy out.
I'm going to,
you watch this.
This is going to be a heavy,
heavy hit.
And Broads is left.
Gap control.
Locko.
Yeah.
Not great gap, as they say, and it's in the back of the net.
Oh, just watching along on social media that night because they're not playing well.
And already critics are on the home fans for not being a good enough crowd and not
cheered and all that sort of thing.
And then they're down, were they down three nothing in this thing?
They got two shots in the first 10 minutes and 28 seconds.
The goal he gets pulled.
Matthews doesn't play the third.
They're playing like shit.
Yeah, it was good stuff.
It was good stuff for to watch the Leaf.
Not for your Leafs fan, I guess.
But if you're, you know, sitting in Calgary and don't really care one way or the other,
it was good entertainment.
Do you remember the star of the Christmas show?
Uh, yeah.
Yeah.
I have in the Pender Report, but this might be the spot in the time.
Sure.
Mitch Marner has been taking it in the teeth.
And our boy Jay Rose Hill.
didn't buck the trend i look at mitch marner and and the breakdown on some of his shifts
and all i can think is who do you think you are are you too good to stop and start are you too good
to get back into your fucking position who do you think you are who do you think you are are you too good
to try? Do you expect everything in your life just to be given to you because your daddy has told you
you're the greatest thing since sliced bread since you were five? Who do you think you are? I watch
these shifts. You want $14 million a year to play and this is how you show it. You just expect
everything. You just expect everything. Expect everything to happen. Expect everything to happen.
You expect everything to be given to you, you chicken shit?
Who do you think you are?
You entitled little prick.
You don't even have the guts to fucking try
because you might try and come up short and fail.
That's what that shows me.
You insecure, baby.
All you do is bitch and float and look around for the easy way to go.
I want the easy way.
I want it given to me.
I want it just to be given to me on a silver platter.
I don't want to have to work.
And I don't want it to be hard because that's what I deserve because I am special.
That's pathetic.
I don't want this guy on my team.
I don't want him near my franchise.
So I don't know how glazed erosie is or where he is.
But he wasn't taking the circuitous route to get to the Mitch Martyr beating.
It was a direct rate on.
That was not.
stray fire at all.
That was, that was, and that's everything.
That's what it was.
That's the fan base.
That was, you went a little temperature check in Toronto?
There you are.
No, I can't speak for him.
I wonder if today he'd be as venomous,
if he'd be as haunt about that.
But when that game was a disaster
because it wasn't just Marner.
It was the D, it was the goaltending.
Matthews didn't play.
They're getting into it on the bench.
And this was, this,
This is great.
This is the lip reading on the bench.
So you've got,
as you can see,
there's Austin who is not right.
He's playing through illness.
He'll still,
he's like,
what?
You know,
complaining what's something that's happened on the east.
And then there's Nealander.
Stop fucking crying,
bro.
This ain't junior.
It's not leaping junior.
And then he slams his gloves.
And the Tuesday's like,
whoa.
Having a fit and.
well
stop like
crying bro
it's not
back for one game
yeah
it's broken really styles
it's broken
rent
you don't mind
teammates getting into it
and that sort of thing
but this has gone on
for so long
and it's
it's not been easy
when you have that many guys
making that much money
and all that
you can't just
oh we'll just shake it up
they have to wait
until contracts get to a certain point
and with Marner
I think they're there next year
So Trilliving has some work to do, but it's a broken team.
It is.
It doesn't look like a cohesive unit.
I always worried because you'd always heard rumors and rumblins about
Marner's old man and this and that.
And it's like, is it all this kid's fault?
It feels like it has been handed to him on a silver platter in a way.
But on the other hand, I think he's had someone in his back or is in his earhole,
bitching out of his whole life.
So is there a true passion for the game?
I don't know.
And that's for parents listening,
it's a fine line between these kids watching an Instagram or a TikTok video of what's the move behind the net?
Michigan.
The Michigan and a dangle and this and that.
And them wanting to play hockey.
Right?
Like I think Marner, who's the guy in Anaheim?
Zegras.
I think there's a lot of kids out there.
Ultra talented, beyond talented, stunningly talented,
don't have a effing clue about how to play hockey or win a hockey.
Or be a good teammate.
I just got a text from an agent.
16 players from, I want to get it right, 16 players.
It's weird I'm talking about this, but 16 players.
But 16 players from the 16-year-old AAA
St. Louis Junior Blues program have left the blues program
to go play the same level hockey somewhere else.
Point is kids, parents, all of us,
we're always looking for something better, right?
And something easier.
We're trying to assist them.
Maybe we just need to teach them to bear down
and help the team they're with.
I don't know.
And I think
Marner's been that forever.
I think he's a talented individual,
but he doesn't have a clue about being a teammate.
Well, and look,
I feel for Mitch Marner because he didn't ask for his dad
to do the things his dad done.
He can't control that.
But I wouldn't be surprised at all
if he was a very helpful piece
on a championship caliber team.
It's just not with this one,
and it might not be in his home market
where he can't go out and have a normal day.
He might be better off.
guy in Utah.
Like he could be an absolute star.
He's at 100 point seasons.
Like there's a lot of teams that would love Mitch Marner.
This is a tough.
This is though the hardest market for him to play in in the world is Toronto.
Some of these guys got to be number one too.
And he ain't number one.
No.
And he's not there,
but it's just,
we've talked about it with other guys in smaller circumstances.
But sometimes there's just a situation that screams change of,
like change of scenery.
And this is one for me.
Fresh time.
The other thing is, too,
when you're,
when you're at that,
high level of skill, it usually brings with it a paycheck.
And yeah, expectations.
You've got to, right?
You know, the, the offensive numbers in the regular season would indicate and
suggest that he's got to be paid a certain, a certain dollar figure.
But with the cap, you need that person to be a difference maker.
If you're paying them north of 10, you can't have them being a support guy,
a la Phil Kessel in Pittsburgh or whatever.
Yeah.
that's harder to happen when it's a $10, $11 million player.
And to be fair, like, he's been a very good $10 to $11 million player in the regular season,
but this year was not his best year and the playoffs haven't matched up to the regular seasons.
He's a very good hockey player.
It's not.
He's a very skilled hockey player.
Well, look, I'm just saying, like, we will paint this guy as you're not, you can't win
with this guy, but we've painted a lot of guys like that have gone on to win.
He needs to go to a new place and a different setup.
It's not working there for him.
And honestly, the coach has taken a lot of heat here too.
And rightfully so,
Sheldon Keefe got an extension before this year.
That doesn't even kick in until next year.
A little bit odd.
Teams often aren't afraid to have the last year lame duck thing on the head coach.
But, you know, would I be surprised that Mitch Marner was a contributing part of a championship team?
No, but it's not happening there.
It's like there's just too many reasons it's not.
It's the family.
It's the hometown.
It's the cap issues.
It's their glaring needs also on the roster.
it's the last year of a deal where he's going to ask for huge amounts of money.
It's not happening there.
And it's him.
Yeah, of course.
You're not absolving him from all those.
Yeah, it can be all the above.
And.
Yeah.
But I mean,
it's exactly what people said about Phil Kessel when he was in Toronto, right?
Like, that's what I'm saying is you said you can't win with him.
He's not a leader.
Blah, blah,
three cups later.
But he just,
but he wasn't a better spot.
Those teams either.
Correct.
And I'm not saying Mitch is going to be on his next either.
But we're saying the same thing.
Like, yeah,
we learn to win some.
Or else.
Yeah.
And I guess the point is, where is that team?
Where is that fit that can pay him the money that he wants,
but be able to put him in a role where he isn't the, you know, right?
Do you know what I mean?
What?
Sorry, I didn't hear what you said.
Utah.
Like, there's a bunch.
I mean, Vegas, Utah, Carolina, Islanders.
Like, there's lots of places where what he does would be massively coveted.
And they don't have to build a culture around him.
being the leader.
And you need to have cap space.
You need to have the want for an offensive star.
And you need to have the pieces that theoretically would be traded back to Toronto.
It's complicated.
He also has a full no move, which makes it really hard for Triliving.
If he wants to, he can just say, no, I'm not going anywhere and walk to free agency.
He can literally tie the GM's hands, which I don't think would be in his best interest.
But it's just underlying how complicated this one's going to be.
You wonder what he's closer to saying.
I'm not moving anywhere.
I'm playing it out and then I'm walking or I'm not playing for this team again.
Yeah.
Right?
And then there's the agent, right?
Where if you're looking at leverage and trying to maximize earnings and all that,
I mean, I don't know.
It's a tough spot.
10.9.
And he'll be asking for more is what he makes.
He's going to want to raise.
I was looking.
I'm not looking to be the guy has not quite hit 100.
He had a 99, a 97 and a 94 point season.
He's been well over a point of game in each of the last six.
years. He's 26 years old. And for as awful as he is in the playoffs, he's got 49 points in 54
playoff games. It's the results that really are the mark. It's not the not helped the team win.
Yeah. And no one on that team has, right? It's just a group that hasn't been able to go over the hump.
They have one series win in nine years. Like what the fuck are we talking about here? That's a disaster.
If you want to talk about flaws, going and signing the captain when they did instead of pursuing a
defenseman as a free agent.
That might, you know, it was a nice story.
John Tavares, all that sort of thing.
Nice story.
But you didn't need that player.
You didn't need that guy.
Well, and the, the, the, we keep forgetting, like, the environment that they signed Tavares in was a cap that was growing pretty regularly every year.
Like, no one saw five, six years of flat cap.
And that's really screwed the least more than anyone because they sort of factored in cap growth with all these deals on.
you know, Matthews and Marner,
the Nielander holds out
until the end of November that one contract.
Even then, it was 11 million a year.
Yeah, it's too much.
It's not a hometown discount.
No, not at all.
The guy that the parent loved, right?
Like, you didn't.
He's up at the end of next year as well.
It's a really, really interesting spot for your living
because you could easily say, you know what?
If this isn't Toronto and this isn't the craziest hockey market ever,
I'm going to take a year and just move around parts
and then operate with math.
massive cap space in two years when dry saddle and a bunch of other studs are up.
But I don't know that you have the patience for that in Toronto.
They're like, yeah, we're just going to reset for a year.
We need to, we'll move Martin for some young cost-controlled defensemen.
We'll address our net mining issues and we'll bank some cap space for the next summer.
Like, I just don't know that you can do that in Toronto.
How much, I mean, are the flames interested in a guy like Barner?
Like if Marks has the way to come here, but you would,
you'd be the most talented player.
They have no question.
if you're interested in Zegris you'd have to like learn more than him
yeah
it's all those layers money right
if you take all of it away
would you would you want him yeah yeah
sure you would but he's but there's salary cap and he's got a wave
and I heard you say Marks or he's got a wave to go to Toronto
but it's all world skill he's one of the most skilled
players in the world
yeah for Mr. hasn't done it in the playoffs like you've noted it he's like
what, 0.8 points per game.
And 26, did you say?
Yeah, he's 26 years old.
Pretty young man.
Yeah, you could sign a guy up to have him 27 to 33-ish.
Like, that's still a lot of good years in there for a guy that moves like he does.
The other thing I don't pretend to know, I do wonder how well he gets along in the locker room with guys.
That would be my...
He's very prickly, you know, and it's because he's been roasted over and over again by the media.
He's the wepping boy there, yeah.
He's, you know, he's...
You know, he's very prickly with the media.
You don't know how well liked he is.
Because if he's viewed as this spoiled young brat, whatever in the room by some of the guys,
then that's trouble.
And I would guess the GMs are going to be doing all kinds of intel to find out what the mood is about him as a person.
You kind of know what he is as a player and you feel like, well, we can work with that.
We can inside our system, our hockey development.
We can work with that.
But what is this guy?
And again, it goes back to the original point.
it looks like he grew up in a very tough environment where it was playing hockey.
Hockey was the most important thing in the world.
And there's some videos,
and of course they're cropping up on the weekend of dad wearing a mic,
standing along the glass,
yelling at the kid,
talking to him in the car ride home and all that sort of stuff.
You didn't pick that.
Yeah,
it's you almost,
you kind of feel for the guy.
Because to your point,
Rhett,
he looks like a hockey player who doesn't love playing hockey.
Not right now.
Yeah.
when he's talented, like I said, extremely talented.
And when it's just when you can wheel around and the, the heats off,
he can do everything.
That's the hardest market to play in for most players, not all,
but especially given the family, the hometown and the last eight years,
that would be the most difficult place in the NHL for Mitch Marner to play.
And that doesn't, that's not taking him off the hook, ret.
But you would understand if he looked better elsewhere at this point.
I think lots of guys can get traded and look better.
Absolutely.
It's just like the expectations that follow you with everything we just mentioned.
It's huge.
There's more pressure there than anywhere else in the league for him.
What the fuck?
What's pressure?
Well, some guys won't go there.
And it's like, oh, you're pro athlete.
I don't.
I'm not going to trial no matter what.
Like it's on my no trade list.
I'm not going there.
We all assume that we all think that.
If you're a, ask Rosie what it's like to play for the leaves.
Well, he loved it.
Yeah.
You have everything at your fingertips.
It's the biggest document in the world.
You want to be a god?
Yeah, win there.
Seriously.
Like, did Wendell Clark?
Was it too much pressure?
No, it wasn't.
That's what made him special.
Doug Gil,
Doug Gil,
too much pressure.
Yeah.
I just,
I get,
I understand your point to it.
But if you're not,
if you're burning desires not to walk down Young Street
with the cup over your head,
as a Leafs fan growing up,
then you're a shitty,
you're not,
it's not pressure.
You have to want to do it yourself.
It's just a circus.
I remember when Stephen Stamcoast was the free agent and he did the tour.
He looked under the hood in Toronto.
He would have had the same money after tax, if not more.
They were offering huge dough.
And he was like, it's going to happen.
It's going to be Stamcoast in Toronto.
And then all of a sudden is like, you know what?
It's a fucking zoo here.
Like, no, I'm going to stick where I can win.
And I don't want it to deal with the fucking circus.
You can't just write that off.
You can't, but I don't know if it's,
I don't think that's the only thing either.
Do you like going to the beach, Steve?
Like do you enjoy warm weather?
Why did Getslav stay in Anaheim?
Because the pressure was too much up north?
No.
Like, yeah, it's part of it, but it's not.
2003, 2004, Red Mile.
How's the town?
The best.
How's the pressure?
What's the pressure like?
Can I walk out?
Can I walk around?
Can Jerome McGillow walk down the street?
Can Comey go down to,
can Marty Jellina?
How's the pressure?
Well, I don't know.
Are you saying how much chaos is?
There's lots,
but that team is playing with house money
right from drop of the bucket of playoffs.
There's no expectation.
Why?
You assume it's house money,
because your assumption was that we don't.
I want to win a fucking stand-up.
You're asking me about the pressure in the market.
My pressure is the same pressure as his pressure should be.
I want to win the same.
the cup.
Yeah.
I want to win the cup.
I couldn't walk around Calgary.
What difference is if you can't walk around
Calgary or Edmonton or Vancouver,
why is Toronto special?
Yeah, no, I'm just saying the circumstances
different that everyone loved that team
and you weren't even supposed to be a playoff.
You know, because this is a decade of failure.
You're in charge of making them love you.
I've told this cheeseball story.
I used to come over the hill on McLeod Trail,
get to the top of the hill.
There was a city and I would have like a little,
I'm going to fucking make.
I'm proud of how I play.
Yeah.
Like, that's not pressure.
That's want.
And if Marner doesn't want it,
and I'm not saying he doesn't,
but you can't excuse
failure because there's too much pressure.
No, no, no.
My kids, oh, if it's pressure, fuck that pressure.
You want it.
That's not pressure.
If you want something, why is it pressure?
The greats can deal with it.
I'll give you that.
Like, no question.
Yeah.
And you know what,
Retro, you're, I would say it's fair to say you're built different than Mitch.
I wouldn't put you too.
And I'm not, that's not letting him off the hook.
I just think it's, you know, you're, you're that kind of guy.
You can handle the pressure.
Let's go into battle.
Some guys, because I was just thinking, Mitch Martin, you've made $52 million or whatever.
Imagine how good life would be for him.
If you want to go and play in Davos, Switzerland, make some money, tax free, free car.
No one's hitting you.
You can dangle all day long.
you'd love being a hockey player you'd love the game
I just don't think he loves the NHL all the time
when it's hard and then the criticism
is deserved yeah
and you can't blame it on pressure
it's not and I and we can we're talking
I think this is the right word semantics
yeah we're we're debating semantics
I don't know what it means has you been good enough
No. Could it work elsewhere?
Probably easier elsewhere.
Are you believing that this is a great leader of men?
No, I'm not. Is he a great hockey player?
Yeah, there's a lot of great skills there.
I mean, it's complicated.
If the rest of the team was maybe built a little differently better than it's different for him too.
But it's not.
If they can have Charlie McAvoy and Hempus Lindholm back there, they're up in this series.
Because you can go this summer if you're at your living and you can make a Mitch Marner trade.
But it's not like, okay, well, now it's fixed.
now we're two, three rounds deep every year.
No, no, no, that's, it's part of them.
It's on the checklist, I would suggest.
Beyond that.
And again, what about Nielander?
He has just signed a big money long-term deal.
You have to keep Austin Matthews.
He's the greatest goal score in the friggin' world.
But your D is a mess.
Your goaltending is average.
That's very good at, depending on the day.
but the Bruins have just looked so good in this series.
Much like Colorado, not to the Colorado extent against Winnipeg,
but the Bruins have looked like a cohesive.
That's a team.
That's a team that's kind of built right.
One team looks like they've been there before, right?
We know how to do this.
Yeah, they're very comfortable.
And they're very tough.
They're focused.
And mistakes and, ah, this is too big for us.
We can't handle this.
Brad Marchand,
goal and an assist.
Passed Cam Neely for most.
playoff goals by a Bruin with 56.
He's seen some winning there, right?
He has eight points in the four games.
Swamen, second straight start, made 24 stops.
They did alternate from the alternating.
They, yeah, they've already.
The Leafs have lost six straight playoff home games.
And they've scored more than two goals once in their last 11 playoff.
And this is where I'm like, stop telling the fans how to react.
This isn't like a first time fan base watching a team.
Like if you trust me,
if you'd been to three Eastern Conference finals in the last eight years,
they cheer differently.
And you know what?
They've seen this group fuck them before.
Don't tell the fans how to react to a team that can't win at home.
Six in a row losses at home over two goals once.
Boo if you want.
Your job's not to be up and beat the Bruins.
That's the players.
And if you're seeing a habit of a team that can't play in big spots,
you've paid the money to do what you want to do there.
Maybe the fans need to put out some videos on social media
where they get, you know, pick a player and really get behind them,
you know, put their virtual arms around him, show him some love.
Maybe that, maybe that's what's missing.
Because I'm not seeing a lot of that right now for, hey, Mitch,
we got your back, buddy.
I think putting hands on him was more of the rosy take
rather than arms around him.
That was a beat down.
this is for McLeod Law we're doing I don't even know if you knew we were doing opening statements
it's true I'm not even sure if you knew it for for McLeod Law now our buddy because we saw he's
taking a little time for himself but Shane King is a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution
group specializing in it specializing in areas like employee rights you get laid off you get terminated
that's hard you're upset it's emotional Shane will be by your side review your situation make sure
you've been treated fairly and as the law
requires practical approach, plain language, just a regular Calgarian like you and I,
except he is the best of what he does.
No legal jargon.
Shane King, litigation and dispute resolution group at McLeodlaw, macloud dash law.com.
I was thinking this morning just how quickly the world moves sometimes.
And specifically, and we saw it, we felt it in Calgary a few years ago.
But in Winnipeg, this has been a great year.
This has been an awesome year.
You're winning hockey games.
Some of them are going to the rink.
Maybe more people.
Go to the rink.
Watch a winning hockey team.
Your GM goes and brings in Sean Monaghan makes a trade.
Monaghan comes in, starts scoring Sanderman.
Look at us.
We're neck and neck with some of the best teams in the Western Conference.
We're right there with some of the best in the league.
Another Tyler to Foley goal scorer comes in.
This is really happening.
What a deal.
Our GM that never really makes deals,
has made two deals investing in this team.
We're going to the playoffs.
Play Colorado in the last regular season meeting between the two,
and just thump them.
Whatever, seven nothing is that what the score was?
Beat the brakes off of the Colorado Avalanche.
Let's go playoffs.
We got home ice.
We might have,
we might have home ice the whole way through to the cup final.
You just never know.
days later, one week later, you're like, we're fucked.
We're fucked.
You know what I mean?
That's how quickly it moves.
Darrell had the quote a couple years ago.
It's a waste of eight days.
We saw it against the avalanche a few years ago in 2019.
It was more than a few years ago, I guess.
Where are we party and where are we going to watch all these games?
Are you getting a New Jersey?
Because I'm getting jerseys.
This is going to be great.
So for round three, let's make, because depending.
on who they play, we're definitely going to the road games.
We're definitely going to the road games.
We should just book flights to Dallas and Vegas
and wherever they might be going.
We'll just cancel the ones we don't need. That's easy.
That's great. Let's do it, Dean.
This is unbelievable because we've owned them.
This year, look,
3 and O versus Colorado in the regular season
outscored them 17 to 4.
Match up for this. Colorado, we were told.
We're built for this shit.
This is the best. Finally, Winnipeg
is there with the big dogs.
McAfee's giving him shoutouts,
the whiteouts back.
Yeah, one week later.
We are absolutely getting
the doors blown off of us right now.
The one nice thing is they can see Kinger
over where he's hanging out in a couple days.
Yeah, they can go a mukulakiki.
You know, you want to lay me.
They can hang out.
What are you talking about?
Who's Kings?
They can go on vacation with our boy Shane King
at McLeod Law.
Oh, I see.
He's taking a little family trip right now.
I got you.
The triplets.
The Jets are in vacation.
It's not even close.
It's not close.
It's not close.
I just was confused by people thought this was going to be close.
And I'm wrong.
Because of all the things that he just said.
That's why.
I just looked at McCar, McKinnon, Rantan are the best three players in this series.
Well, that's fine.
And you look genius now.
But there's a lot of people myself included.
Well, he's trying to make himself look genius.
I just said twice.
I made a lot of really dumb picks
in the first round,
but this was the one team.
I'm like,
how we just saw them win a cup two years ago.
Why is everyone like down on these guys?
No,
they missed out.
I was down.
I just had a belief that the depth and I thought,
Eilers,
Schifley,
Conners,
they can wheel,
like all the things he said.
Hey.
I just thought this is going to be a slobber knocker of a series.
This is going seven games,
six maybe.
This is going seven.
It's going to be back and forth.
It has been one-sided.
In the one game they won.
The Jets gave up six.
Yeah, they almost lost it.
And you can't, the goalie can't be bad if you never touched the puck and get a shot on net.
That is the one thing that no one would have saw coming.
That the abs have scored five in every single game in this series is wild.
Because you would, there's like no question Winnipeg had the edge in net.
But they've just fallen apart in front of Hellabuck.
It's not even necessarily on him so much is they just, they aren't a good defensive club the last week and a half.
and they were the best defensive club in the league in the regular season.
It might be the fact that there's that Avalanche team is so damn good that they can't,
we can't keep up.
They are still.
That is a big thing.
No,
remember.
Yeah.
Colorado.
Like they were, again,
they were up four one and there was less than 10 to go and Bed,
Bednar is still putting out McKinnon and it's full, full attack mode.
Yeah.
Like they're just turp in the wagons and the offensive.
have sewn for a minute and a half and you're going,
what, how, what, what do you, it's over.
They, uh, their pace that they play with.
And we saw it in 1890.
There's a, there's a, there's a philosophical belief in Colorado that
everyone has to play with pace.
And I'll say this, like, nice resurges from Sean Monaghan to fully can score.
Those guys are shitty skaters and they always have.
Oh, 100%.
Like, they're slow. And so what we saw in 1819, I think was the year where the flames
win the West and the abs are a,
wildcard was they were a much faster team for the flames and a lot of guys couldn't succeed
because they couldn't keep up. That's what Winnipeg seeing with that depth is it's slow.
And that's one of the areas the flames have improved dramatically on over the last years.
They got rid of some heavy-footed guys like Luchich and Lewis and Tofoli.
Like they move now.
I don't think we put enough stock into what Casey Middlestadt said.
It's twofold.
He got to Colorado and he said, holy,
shit. Practices are hard. He didn't use the S word and I owe you guys a push up.
But he said, these practices are wicked hard. Well, two things. Clearly, Buffaloes were not
and weren't up the standard. And these guys want it. These guys want it. Yeah, you hear about
how obsessed McKinnon is with the smallest details. Like this is not a, I got my ring. I'm going to
kick the feet up. This, this is a group that, like he was so sour with himself before he won that cup. He's
like, I haven't done shit in this league.
And you're like, ooh, this guy burns to win.
This is not Mitch Martin or conversation.
Here to the point being that the abs keep coming, this is Shifley after the game.
Yes, it is Mark Shifley quote.
There's clear differences in their game compared to the regular season.
They're playing fast.
Their D are moving pucks.
They're moving to areas quicker than we are.
It seems like it's almost endless over and over and over.
and we're not able to get that puck stopped.
Yeah, they feel like they're in a,
they're in that thing,
like money. It's like, holy shit, Jesus.
They're in a twister.
Every second night, they're in the eye of the storm.
Caught me undercut the end of the toe, baby.
Jesus. And yeah. And then when that,
and it's, to your point,
it's not just that they are coming at you
and have speed and they're tenacious.
They have some of the best players in the world.
Yeah, it's not Matthew Lombardi flying by here.
Like you got fucking.
Of course. Here I come.
Look at how fast I'm going.
No, no. They're fast and they're the best.
So yeah, and I, and yeah, Tafoli one goal, no assists.
Monaghan, no goals, one assist.
Hellebuck, four on 30.
And if you get those guys full credit for their skating ability and say they're average skaters,
that ain't close to being good enough against Colorado.
No.
And I forget who it was at all.
and this was even years ago,
that the avalanche, kind of their credo,
their whole thing was,
if you can really move,
we'll probably find a spot for you,
depending on,
you know,
well, who's like their 13th forward for the last three years?
You're not unseeding McKinnon.
But if,
Cogliano, right?
If you've got wheels,
wheels almost then skill is kind of how they prioritize things there.
And it's,
it's showing.
And to a certain extent,
I feel like that's kind of the Vegas team we saw from last year.
tenacious on you, come,
non-stop. But this
is, this series has been another
level. You almost feel
bad for the Jets. I did.
The other night when it was 4-1
and the third and you're going, there's
still, their heads are popping
off every shift. I can't keep up.
And then Brendan Dillon gets cut in some
meaningless skirmish and he's out for game four
and you like, that's a big piece for them and it's like,
oh boy, this thing's over.
No, it's just, yeah, insult injuries.
You had 52 wins and 110 points in the regular season.
And as we said, no one gave up fewer goals in the regular season than the Jets.
Congratulations.
Here's Colorado in round.
And it's not, they can't dictate the terms of play.
It's that simple.
If you're going to play, you're playing on Colorado's terms.
That's what speed does to the opponents.
It's like, I'm sorry, you cannot control how things are going to go because you're chasing
us all night. I guarantee you they thought
they could keep up speedwise and they had
a game plan going in
and now you're going like
do we try to play Jersey
mid-90s? Play trap. What do we do? And you're stuck
in between because that's not what you've known
how to play. And then it's just a shit
show and that's what's happening.
Yeah. And to your point
it's tough to win and score
when you never have the puck.
Yeah, is the goal for Colorado
all of a sudden really good?
have a georgie five playing still i don't know uh georgie five uh 26 saves uh yesterday
more than i thought he'd had a six on five out there you sure they got the goal in like
oh so yeah it's not good i would guess they're probably a little sour and sad
look at jeez and okay so these numbers are gaudy but think about game one were that what
the jets put up seven like look at seven yeah you've had five goals and three games since
Yeah, Hellebuck, 19 goals in four games.
That's an 870 if you need it.
Not good enough.
Not good enough.
Yeah.
So here's another one of those series.
Really thought we were going six or seven and this was going to be a real battle.
I don't, it feels over.
Look at the power play.
40?
Is that okay?
You want to stay out of the box, fellas, maybe?
Like it's hard enough five on time here.
Yeah, pretty good.
Boylers were four for seven before they scored their only goal last night on the power play.
It's like some of these teams, it's just, how do you sleep at night if you know you've got to see that power play?
You want to talk about Mitch not having fun?
Yeah.
Chats aren't having fun.
No.
There's a lot of teams not having fun, Dean.
The aisles are having no fun.
No fun.
Caps have no fun.
Red's had fun, but it's no fun.
No fun now.
No fun.

So yeah,
you know,
we're not looking to be
poopie pants.
And maybe we'll look back.
Oh,
that's how you get some drama.
As a team gets up 3-1,
then they take the foot off the gas.
I'm not sure who's taking their foot
off the gas. I don't think it's Boston.
I don't know that it, I don't think it's Florida, although they did let them, I think Tampa
wins a game and it sure doesn't seem like it's going to be Colorado. So a, a stunner for sure,
so far for round one. Now, we will see Dallas Vegas after the Dallas win the other night. Did
you see any of that one retro? Not really, no. Almost highlights of it. It was so much Dallas.
Logan Thompson, who has been criticized and gets no credit in any of that,
he was outstanding.
43 stops, two-on-ones, breakaways, power play.
The whole thing, he was tremendous.
And, you know, it gives up two in regulation than the one in overtime.
But without, without Thompson, Dallas wins that thing rather easily.
Had a two-nothing lead.
And then Vegas may be the most opportunistic team.
It feels like that you watch.
There will be nothing.
There will be nothing.
Score.
It's a star's power play.
Oh, turnover.
Eichel on a two on one.
Scores.
They just have that,
they have that ability.
But Wyatt Johnston.
Now, this guy was drafted in 2020, right?
I think he was in like the COVID.
No one's at the draft anymore.
Or 2021.
You go back.
And he was one of those guys that kind of loses a season of hockey,
if I'm not mistaken.
and so scouts can't see him well i was a good player but to what level is he good dallas drafts the guy
he scored the overtime winner 20 years old 349 days so he's not even 21 had two goals eight shots
was everywhere in that game and this guy is a star and not let's see before he even said i get he's a
Dallas star. But he is a super star. Oh, he's a super Dallas star. He's a super duper Dallas star.
And Dallas has had a very good, very good run at the draft table the last few years, which is
why I'm sure why Conroy kind of pointed the finger at them. But his only action is, yeah,
he was drafted in 21. So he missed all the O, but did get to play some of you 18s. That's it.
That's weird for a draft year.
Yeah.
Because I forget who wrote the story.
And I kicked myself because just talking about how little hockey he really played.
Yeah.
And well, he was a good player a year and a half ago.
How's it, how's he now?
Well, we have no idea because he hasn't played any hockey.
Oh, well, he's gotten really, really good in the last year, year and a half.
And that's what else does guys.
They draft really well.
They're, they're one of the best.
I'd put them in the top three or four in terms of just their ability.
to hit on later picks.
They haven't been drafting high all the time.
Yes, you've got your Hayskin in, but Robertson, hints, this guy, you know,
Harley's having a monster year.
It is a very, very well-run team.
In that 2021 draft, Wyatt Johnston, Logan Stankovin taken in the first and then
second round, both of them are playing.
Big roles right now in the playoffs.
No kidding.
Maverick Bork has come up.
He is playing for them.
He was their first rounder.
in 2020. That was the year, right, that
Flames moved down. I think
he was one of the guys that was in that
zone and they ended up getting
Zeri.
Yeah, Thomas Harley
has played 119 games.
It's a really smart team that doesn't make a lot of
mistakes at the draft. They
tried it down that year, I believe, Dino.
Yeah, twice, right?
Because that's where the original draft
slot that Dallas had, where they took White, Johnson,
is where COSA, the Hulking
goaltender, went to Detroit. They slid
back and they've done well with Detroit. I think that's how they got the Rupe Hintz pick as well.
It was like a deadline rental and they turn it into hints. You're like, holy shit, these guys are good.
Haskin and Ottinger and Robertson, their first three picks in 2017.
Rupé Hintz, a second rounder in 2015. And what's funny, and we forget, Val Nachushkin,
the guy that had the hat trick for the abs yesterday, he was their first rounder in 2013.
So he could be. They don't get enough credit in Colorado for that because it wasn't like,
like he came over and let the place on fire either. It was like they, they bought into the project
actually being a project. It was, because I think his first year, he doesn't even score a goal in
Colorado. He had one or something hilarious. Stick with it. And now he's a 30 goal, Salkey caliber
winger that's just a physically imposing beast out there. Like, Nchuschen is the, you talk about a 20
in a ski jacket. Like, this is a stack of hindo's in the ski jacket. Like, this is unbelievable to go
from like, yeah, we'll take him off the scrap heap and send a one year deal to like, he's legitimately,
one of the best checking defensive wingers in the game.
And he's going to get you 30.
Patrick last night is first in the league.
And it's funny.
And they have some players that they drafted that are doing good things for other teams.
So Njushkin, he would be one.
Nick Paul scored for the Lightning yesterday.
He was a star's draft pick.
Radick Faxa, who's playing big minutes in Boston.
He was a first round pick of the Dallas stars.
So yeah, they seem to know what they're doing.
Just easy, right, Rhett?
Just pick the best players in the year of the draft.
Don't pick the bad ones.
Pick the good ones.
Don't pick the guys that can't play.
Right.
That'll never play.
Pick the guys that are going to play.
Like the stars.
Like Teage again.
Right?
Guys that are getting better.
What a blossom.
Look like stars.
Got some Teage content in the Pender part.
I bet you do.
Oh, man.
Yeah, I bet you do.
How don't you?
It's impossible.
It looks good.
They go high.
They may not get them at night.
It might not be there at nine anymore, boys.
He keeps raising his stock.
He may not get him at nine.
Two goals yesterday at Thunder 18s or whatever it was at the weekend.
Let's do the Pinder Report.
Let's do it.
The 2024 Honda Accord redesigned last year,

F1, Village on.
I'm not sure how their draft team is doing
from the draft a couple weeks ago.
I did get a bit of a heads up from the guys at origin
who were kind of left for debt.
They were leading at one point.
There was also the Derek Nuba group was leading
after that game one for Winnipeg.
They had a lot of jets.
Not as much noise coming from that camp now either.
No, pretty quiet.
Pretty quiet.
Anyway, Village Honda, your dealership for life.
and they, you know,
Ryan Pinda,
Ryan Pinder report.
Yeah, we're going to call the Eginla report, fellas.
As the World Under 18s continue in Finland,
Daily Face Off, Stephen Ellis is there
in his article that dropped either early this morning or late
last night, depending where you are in the world,
is T. Jiginla, more than just Jerome's son.
He's a future NHL star.
Hey, Stephen, keep it down.
We need him to slide tonight.
Zip it, bud.
Hey, dude, put a sock in it.
In the article, he quotes a scout at the end of 18 tournament,
whose name was left off the record, saying he could go as high as five.
There are some teams that like him that much, but again, on all these lists,
which again, will be updated again before the draft, most of them, not in the top 10.
It has been a monster year.
Ret, he didn't play or score a lot last year in Seattle.
it has been big expectations.
He'd do better things at Colonna.
He shouted them all.
It's been a monster draft here.
Home cooking.
Hey, how about it?
Well, here's the thing.
That would be, it would be disappointing, I think, for a lot of Flames fans,
if Tees has taken before the Flames pick at nine.
But, you know, Celebrini might be a nice consolation prize.
You know, if he's going to tumble down the board,
Tees goes so high, then maybe.
Well, here's the thing.
Flames won't be able to take Teage.
I don't think when they win the lottery.
have to take Celebrini, I think.
Right now.
I can do it to you, Teach, but it's April.
It is early, yeah.
Right.
Let's get to the NHL action from yesterday.
Oh, things were going so well in Nashville, weren't they?
There it is.
There's your updates.
252 remaining.
Beat the traffic.
There it is.
Net for the Vancouver Canucks to go later.
Baby, no problem, no problem at all.
And then, hey, Colton Sisson's just ice this thing for it.
Oh.
Look at the fans.
And they're like, aye.
But not just the fans, Dean.
Let's go to the Nashville bench where, I mean, Colton Sissons is clearly going to put this thing in.
What?
What?
Oh, play still go.
Why is that ref?
Oh.
Shoot.
Hmm.
Okay.
Well, just, okay.
Get the puck and put it.
Just do it again.
This time put it in the net.
Two minutes later.
The.
latest multi-goal
comebacks in NHL playoff
history, Dean. The Caducks
crack the list. There they
are. 57-11,
the time left on the clock when they were
down by multiple goals.
They would indeed win it in overtime.
Lindholm, a lovely pass from Garland
behind the net. And there's some
pretty good teams in there that have done some things
that erased multi-goal
leads late. The fastest and the latest.
Bruins, Game 7,
2013 quarter-final.
that of course has to be the Leafs game.
Of course, we all remember,
was it 4-1? It was 3-1.
It was over and then it wasn't in game 7.
And that's baked into that whole beautiful shitstorm in Toronto right now.
No, if you want, hey, a lot of times when a team goes on a great run,
there are these types of stories that crop up along the way.
When you're on that Cinderella run, game one, two goals late, big win on home ice.
goaltender, injured.
Backup comes in, win.
That guy gets injured, win again.
This is the type of stuff.
Rhett galvanizes a team.
Galvan a great word.
Can be galvanizing for a team.
I'm almost rooting for the frigging Canucks now.
How is this happening?
We just have to play that music video one more time.
That'll get you back.
That's true. Yeah, yeah.
One more top. That's Demco.
He's hurt.
You ruined his life.
Yeah, way to go.
Let's go to the results from last night.
We told you it wasn't good for Vancouver.
Yeah, the Aves 5 again.
That seems like just Aves doing Aves things.
Rangers took care of businesses.
We knew they would.
That was a consensus pick on the show.
All of us had the blue shirts.
We all have at least one selection right from round one.
Congrats, fellas.
And the Oilers, oddly, a low-scoring affair.
That has been a zany series.
If you told the L.A. Kings, they'd hold the Oilers to no even-streth goals
and one power play goal, you'd think they'd have a win.
Big Save Dave was very good,
but no goals from the Kings,
and suddenly the Oilers in the driver's seat
rather than a split coming home.
Hard to win.
With zero goals.
Unless it's going to be an interesting off season.
Against any team,
Oilers included, if you score zero
goals, it's a challenge.
It's a battle.
Dean, I'd like to fight you on that. I can't.
Yeah, that's a challenge.
Sage. I'm letting my score down. That's a statement there.
I love a good stat. I'm willing to bet that the list of teams that have scored zero in the playoffs and have won a game is probably, it's got to be a short list.
I can't think of me off the head. But again, that's just real quick.
Rangers do move on. What do we know about it? Well, they're happy in New York. No surprises there. There are the fellas.
This is important. Ret. Get your rest. Make it a short series. Don't let things get long. Carolina is trying to do the same. They're on a collision.
Of course, nobody like the Islanders or the caps.
Blue shirts and Keynes were waiting.
Carolina, can you get things taken care of?
There's all of a sudden a bit of a break in that series.
And you know what?
And it wasn't close.
But with looking at the, thank goodness, there wasn't some dumb upset here.
Where the president's trophy winner gets bounced in round one in the caps.
Hey, capitals, and then losing four or five in round two.
They're gone.
We told them to go away.
They're gone.
Or an injury to someone that, you know what I mean?
Like Fox was hobbling around a little bit yesterday, but doesn't look like it was anything.
Got a week now maybe, Rhett.
Right?
Like for a Ranger guy, Zabanajad, or someone to go down where, like, for real, against these Schleps, come on.
And that's now what Carolina's facing is there a win away against the aisles who won an overtime on a Barzell-Tip Bartuzo shot.
Colorado just scores at Will.
We talked about their ability to put the puck in the net.
Still scoring, I think.
I know the game's over, but I still think there's pucks going in the net.
The fifth team ever to go five plus goals in each of their first four games in the playoffs.
It's the 85 Hawks, who I don't recall, the 94 Rangers, who I do recall, the 81 Islanders,
that was the end of the dynasty there.
And 1946 Canadian, I don't remember much about that.
Oh, it's a boot, the old Boots McGee there.
He was so good.
Back in 46.
That's right, 46.
Hab's a wagon.
Tonight, what are we looking at?
Well, a pair.
A pair of non-flames games?
Zero flames games, a pair of playoff games tonight.
I want to have hope for both of these series.
I really want it.
I don't see many series that could be long series out there.
Tampa, if you win tonight, we'll totally forget.
You lost the first two in this series.
We won't even bring it up again.
We promise you.
Just find a way to win tonight, and then we got a banger there.
If they lose tonight, I think the series is going to be over.
Yeah, that's a good point.
It feels like a must win for Tampa tonight.
And then there's Dallas who dropped the first two at home.
And to your point,
looked like they were in control until they weren't needed overtime to beat Vegas in game two.
Please, can we have one of these series be a good series?
Please.
One game seven?
Two game sixes.
Just something, please.
And even that game, sorry, that game the other night,
it was so much Dallas.
it feels like, okay, so it's tight,
but without Logan Thompson,
it wasn't close.
So I don't know what the age.
Logan Thompson, their backup again.
Remember last year it was Larry Braswa
and Logan Thompson their tandem
and it was Aden Hill that lifted the cup.
Jonathan Quick never even played.
He was brought in like,
Vegas, they don't care.
They don't give a shit about goalies.
Our guy will be fine.
Trust us.
The Battle of Florida tonight,
we show you, we'll,
there's the image there.
Stammer's been great, boys.
I know Rhett hasn't exactly pumped up his stock.
Hates him.
But he,
five goals and four games.
That's impressive.
Playing great offensive honk.
It's over a goal again.
He's a shoot.
Somers said.
Yeah.
Shooter.
Sam Bennett's still out.
Ryan Lomburg remains out for the Panthers as well.
They're a little nicked up.
But again,
a three one lead better than the opposite.
Dallas Vegas.
It's been quite an impressive,
steely Vegas team.
and yeah, Hanifan's been great.
Patrangelo.
Wyatt's been awesome.
That's the late 18, 730.
Wyatt, white, white.
From Toronto, Ontario is Wyatt.
Never heard of it.
As a finalist.
Actually, hang on.
So get this.
Tomorrow.
Hockey Day in Canada.
Doubleheader Canadian teams can be great.
It's going to be awesome.
Oh, fuck.
Look at this funeral on national television.
and this is,
Hey, Tuk on Twitter,
saying, yeah,
Hockin and Canada is going to be
a Canadian funeral tomorrow night.
Unless you look at birth certificates.
Who are the captains of the abs and Bruins again?
The whole Canada thing.
I don't get it.
Yeah.
Come on.
I guess.
I understand the viewing audience will be sad,
but I don't think Canadians should cheer for Canadian team.
Cheer for your team.
Sure for your team.
Wherever the hell that is.
A couple no-brainerers here.
Demko and Hellebuck with
Monster Seasons. Bob also slides into the finalists.
Oh, boy, Bob. Bobber, back on the case.
Jacob Markstrom was right up there amongst the advanced goaltending metrics, but didn't
finish strong, and the defensive environment was no good almost half the year.
And yeah, the traditional stats were not good. So he's not in this mixed, but I think on a
better team, he absolutely is one of those three phases. Great year this year.
It's awkward timing for the Vezna finalist to be in.
It really is, Dean.
It's got, hold off a week.
Could you wait just a little bit until the jets are done and people have maybe forgotten how many pucks have been zinging by Hellebuck on a nightly basis?
Does Connor get the, it's not your fault treatment?
Connor.
It's not your fault.
It's not your fault.
We're watching the glacial icebergs slowly moving around in front of you.
Not your fault.
Just a freak.
and tilt the whirl every night.
Yie.
Encircling the wagons in the ozone.
McCar end,
and it's not your fault.
Do you guys want to get that out?
No, okay.
Rantinin, not your fault.
Chushkin, it's not your fault.
Just put it in the net.
There goes.
Taylor Lewin plays for the Tennessee Titans,
big Preds fan.
We've seen them slamming beers
at the Preds games in playoffs past.
Got a little face time again.
So this is the ancient one.
This is Bustin with the boys.
This is when Carolina's in town.
Got his daughter, saying hi to everyone.
That's cute, hey?
So, yeah, he was back at it last night, I believe.
But this was the historical piece that we found.
Right.
Because he's just looking, this is, it's 2018.
He's drinking the beer off the catfish.
Oh, catfish, gross-looking thing.
Right?
So this is, what an animal?
all like it's beautiful stuff
and so that's great
I love the toss
just like 99 pound rocket she's a smack
yeah that's Taylor he's funny like that
last night he had he held up his daughter
and she chugged a glass of water in the fence right now
you got the water to chugged very good
we don't have
pardon me we don't happen
I think it got lost in the ether but that's on me
because that would have been that that was the
that video was the reason to have played that clip
That was the actual clip from last night.
That's right.
Hey, Jack, do we have any more clips from 2018?
What about a Carolina national game from five years ago?
To one.
Drake May got selected by the New England Patriots quarterback.
And so look at this.
They got him in the draft room.
That's one of his brothers.
And he's getting all misty thinking, okay, like here comes the tribute from the brothers.
Pretty boy.
overweight.
Are you serious?
I was getting emotional for a second,
but now I'm laughing now.
Who let him say that?
It's good stuff.
Easy to say that, yeah, we love him.
He's inspiring.
Pretty boy.
Calvary FC in action yesterday.
The regular season, home opener against Pacific.
Tons of chance in the first half.
Look at the crowd, fellas.
It's like nearly full house here.
It's 5K, I'm guessing.
Atko Field. This was in the 96th minute. Look at this.
You need Marco Carducci to preserve a point here.
Bang.
Massive stopped by Marco Carducci.
No, they'll draw.
Big crowd, great game.
They have two draws and a loss through three regular season games.
And back in action on Friday as they welcome Vancouver FC.
So is this a regular season game or a tournament game?
Like I just said, this is the.
Regular season home opener.
This is talking.
What?
Hello.
Is that Marco Crudity?
What?
What are you?
What's the issue, Jack?
Well, it's just confusing because they have all these tournaments that are going on while the season's going on.
It is soccer.
You stared at the Pittsburgh Steelers draft choices all weekend.
It's not confusing.
Just get outside your comfort.
Yeah.
Very great crowd.
Awesome day.
Did not get the three points.
Got the one.
See him we got on Friday.
Scenes.
Okay.
Our boy is making some big bets.
Tim Nackie.
Look at.
28, going to blackjack and betting 10 cents for every Instagram follow.
There are 1,044,000 of your legends with us now.
So 104,400 old bed coming up today.
Dennis the Menace for the win.
All righty, day 78.
Now I know I said no more side bets ever,
but I've made a deal with a bloke last night.
He assured me the side bets will lob.
today and if they don't he is literally going to cover the cost of these so
forty four hundred dollars on the side I would never normally make a follower follow
up on a monetary deal but by the fucking God if this doesn't land he's paying me
give me a straight 8-9 10 straight lubs the man's got it done 10 to 1 he's got some
bigies oh what a call that's 22 grand 18 plays at 9 we do stand to lose the
big one here all that fucking a under there go low low low low 10 here 10 here
10, 10, 10, 10, 10.
Yes, yes, get them both ways.
Benny, you've got some big beckies come in your direction.
And day 78 has got us back on top.
Now I will see you tomorrow where you better believe we will be bidding even more Dennis the Minnis for the W.
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen.
That'll make your day.
Yes, it will, Dean.
Right?
So wins the side pot and the main bet.
Yeah.
That's 100 is a 200.
A quick 124 profit on the on the main bet.
And what was it, 4,400 on the, what was the bet on the side?
I've reached out to Tim Nacki for the draft lottery proceedings.
Uh-huh.
He's going to be in New Zealand.
All right.
How are we going to get Celebrini if we can't get Nacki on the damn stream?
Oh, well.
Jimmy, hands on the wheel here.
We need you.
Also, we've decided it's a no negativity stream.
so you're not welcome, boom.
It is going to be a live stream of the draft lottery
and you're not invited.
Now, when the flames win, you're welcome to join.
If they do not, you stay away.
We can't have your fingerprints on this at all.
I mean, that kind of hurts my feelings,
but I guess.
You'll have to take the, the,
so I'm not in.
You're not allowed.
You're not welcome.
Even if someone,
if you email to ask for links,
you'll not receive.
Leave May 4th.
Saturday.
They have not done the time yet.
Be with me.
A light saver.
Yeah, you can dress up and join us, Rhett, if you'd like.
5%.
5%.
5. 5.
5. This is better than zero.
Ret, you, uh, you started flirting around and getting your pilot's license once, didn't you?
Oh, absolutely.
And what kind of a plane were you?
It's one of these old...
16-hour planes.
Yeah.
Yeah, okay.
Well, we found some old video.
Oh.
On a place, wrong time.
Ouch, right?
ease.
Oh, no.
No, luckily there's his head,
but also the thing behind you, there it is, yeah.
Took a bit of the sting out of that.
Who's at fault there?
Right.
The air traffic controller.
Yeah.
There he is, passing the bucket, yeah.
Let's go to Drumheller, a new world record.
I know the folks in dinosaur territory there will be very excited.
It's a world record for dinosaur costumes in one gathering.
Let's go to Drum Heller.
Is that Dawson, you and the show,
we made that video with it, you know?
Beautiful stuff.
Congratulations, Trump Heller.
I can't decide if I'm very supportive of this
because clearly the people are being good,
have some spirit to them.
Or be better, Drum Heller.
I go with the first one.
It's just kind of harmless fun.
They're leaning into their whole, you know, dinosaur thing.
I think it was hundreds, and then someone broke a thousand,
and then Drum Heller really raising the bar.
Over 3,000 people dressed up as dinosaurs.
Beat that, some other town.
Suck on that, biser.
Uh, Rhett,
proposals are always beautiful.
You want to get a buddy grabbing it on camera so you can catch the reaction.
This is down at the old marina where Jimbo and Teresa are finally going to look like get it done.
Here we go.
Catch out here, careful.
She sees it coming.
Look, hands on face.
Is he going to get on a knee or what are we doing?
He's opening up showing the ring.
There's not much of a platform in fairness.
And let go.
Where's the ring? Where's the ring?
Where's the ring?
Where's the ring?
Actually leans on the throttle dean, which is...
I've done this.
It's not code for something.
I've done this as well.
It's a horrifying feeling.
Everyone goes for a spill.
Because you're like, oh, you could just grab onto that throttle and put, no, no, you're flying because the throttle got gunned.
You were not in your seat anymore.
It's as though to the point.
It's as though it's a sign.
Yeah.
Well, that didn't go well.
No.
But I'm sure it'll all be great.
Found a new amusement ride for you, Dean.
I hope they're bringing it to Stampede.
I think you'll love it.
The gyro drop.
Yep.
That's a lot going on here.
drop you out
like the drop of doom
the vomit would spray
when you're at that height
yeah probably about a shower radio
yeah
from this height
oh I have no chance
no way
yeah I'm good
I'm good
I used to love this stuff
my kids were tall enough last summer
to do the rides at the stampede
so I'm like I'll get into these
even just the spinning
so it's this part right here
it's a bungee drop with the
the spin the spin the drop of doom it's bungee it's the spinning chairs it's everything and then at the very end it's just yeah and if you haven't puked yet you're welcome yeah you'd puke and shit your pants thanks how many tickets for this ride
does it come with clean gotch because i need it i need a bib and some clean gotch because i have puked and shit all over myself
well your other option need you don't have to do the rides of stampede maybe you head to the coast do a little scuba ind or does that at nashville north you would do that on that plane on that
that carnival ride.
Go ahead.
Looks like there's a weird backpack there.
Is it an oxygen tank?
Lockness monster thing?
Well, it's an octopus on the snorkelers back.
It's kind of looks like Batman there, doesn't he?
Yeah, I guess not helping him.
He's just laughing at him filming.
Shoot.
Don't forget to water your snakes, Dean.
Yeah.
You got to water your snakes.
Just because they live in deserts,
it doesn't mean they don't drink.
Look at this cute little guy.
Drinky, drinky, drinky, drinky,
drinky, they squirting it out, the straw.
Bang, oh, Chase.
So fast.
Really cat-like reflexes.
Yeah, I think we're getting along great.
Bang! Oh, my God.
Man's best friend, Dean.
Is that a snake?
Sure is.
Somebody got some Viz.
I believe this would be in our neck of the world.
given that it's a grizzly bear.
Yeah, I got her charging at me.
Ooh.
Wow.
Look at the road.
I got four grizzly bears running down the road in front of me.
Big sow and three cubs.
All I did not like the attention.
Kids off the road.
Some ass hat human is chasing us in a vehicle.
And you want some of this?
Through the fence.
Whoa.
God.
Hard no D.
There she is.
She used, man.
She was mad.
Look at that.
That was cool.
Three kids.
Yeah, they're not much slower than a race horse,
Dean, and they definitely want to moll you.
The through the fence is amazing.
The size is the head.
Like that's like some luchador Ray Mysterio Jr. shit.
It really is, yeah.
That's unbelievable.
You need some practice of that.
Wouldn't you think you'd get hung up, retro?
This person's in a vehicle.
That, uh, not.
overly intimidated.
Yeah.
Whoa.
Jeez.
Rets moving to Florida.
We know that.
One of the area,
the things you want to check
in your neighborhood
is you want fences
so that the gators
can't get in, right?
Absolutely.
But sometimes they do get in.
How do they get out?
Go smart.
It's like bear when he sees
some hot.
I was good seeing.
I guess I'll head back home.
what are guys doing later?
Yeah, maybe me and the wife will swing by,
but yeah, I better get going.
I'm going to cool off guys.
I'm heading in for a swim.
I hope you.
Gator-proof fence strikes again.
How did this start?
Check this out, Dean.
This looks like it might be some sort of mold growing in the corner.
Except that it's not cold.
It's actually a billion spiders.
Looked like.
magazines I looked at when I was a kid in the 80s.
Okay.
I don't need the disco reference.
What?
I didn't say anything.
I don't know what magazine I was looking at.
Finally, just summarizing, you don't know how we got here and how we did this.
If we were going to go to Australia, Dean, I'm just a little worried.
We've flushed out this map of the danger there.
So let's, uh, this is some Google Earth.
This is, this is, those are your deadly snakes.
There's your deadly spiders and there's your crocodiles.
Great whites.
Great whites at the bottom.
Let's go again.
Okay.
Thanks.
Yeah.
So basically only the middle where it gets to like way too long.
There's a band.
There's a good.
Okay.
So that's out.
Yeah.
There's kind of that band through the middle maybe.
Yeah.
And that's like the desert.
That's where there's not no.
And then Tasmania was good,
but now they're surrounded by Great Whikes.
So.
I don't know.
Ozzie seemed to all be very nice and,
you know,
good fun people.
Yeah.
They know it's not lasting.
So they try to get the most of things.
Been a good run.
Could be.
living their best day every day.
Any second.
That would be something.
I don't know if, you know, not to get too morbid,
but find somewhere where the, you know,
causes of death in 2020 or something in
in Australia.
It's like natural causes, old age, heart attacks,
gators, sharks.
I just wonder what,
what's on that list and what is,
uh, the main cause of mortality.
Heart disease, cancer, great white sharks.
Yeah.
That's your pinned report, Dean.
Yeah.
uncle passed away. Oh, cancer. No, bats. Spiders. Village Honda. Huge selection of pre-owned
all makes all models, all budgets over 90 units on site. 500 more in the dealership group.
It's the dealership group. That's where the power comes from. That's where the strength is for
Village Honda. We've got a whole dealership group behind us. 500 vehicles. Let's go. Make Village
Honda your one-stop automotive destination in Calgary. They are worth the trip. Village
located in the Northwest Auto Mall.
Yes, indeed.
Yes, sir.
Yes,er.
What are we doing the weekend?
Kind of late to get into it in the show, but, uh, you know.
Go ahead.
Yeah, right.
You said you had Philly coming up, but that wasn't the weekend.
That's this week.
Tomorrow is Philly.
I'm not sure if I'm going to the shoveler, but someone's going to
Philly tomorrow.
And they've got until tomorrow to figure out, Dean.
So, you can't leave today.
No.
You leave tomorrow.
And you, well, you can't have the plans either.
we don't know what tomorrow brings until we get there.
Yeah.
Some flag football.
A real drubbing.
A real drubbing.
Really?
Receiving or handing out end?
Receiving.
Yeah, it sounds like, yeah.
Six, seven, and eight crew from the school.
Did you guys get avalanched?
Like just too much speed on the other side?
It was just, you know what it is?
The eight, the great eights, the eighth grade class, they're not participating.
Oh.
So you go up again.
other schools and they got the older kids it's tough last year Rob Ray and coach
Gilbert uh Dennis Gilbert's uncle oh had coached the hockey team to like 50 wins in a row
and uh it's come to a screeching halt as well so not only was your yeah it was not there was a
drumming on the football field and at the arena and young Jaime had a game big
win. He's wheeling the net.
Gets absolutely drilled cheap shot.
There's no checking in 10 year old hockey.
You know, he's had it. He won't stand for it.
Nope. He's chasing the guy down, giving him the bird to the back of his head.
Really?
Make that you a bugger.
I bet you don't think twice and we're doing that again.
All the way to the box.
Really.
Oh. Wow.
Did he get teed up for that?
No way.
what the refs were thinking.
You're probably hiding it well.
Smart kid.
So it's,
it's the great thing about being a dad
is you just never know
when those proud moments are,
yeah,
where you're just bursting with pride.
It's like, oh,
the chest comes.
I'm almost choked up right now.
It's,
yeah, like your first supermarket tantrum.
It's a special moment.
That's my, that's mine.
That's my kid right there.
Son,
I just want to let you,
I've never been more proud of you
than how you be,
behaved in front of everybody there.
That's what your mom and I have been trying to get through to you.
We just want to make sure that whenever something potentially negative crops up,
that you give the finger and maybe yell obscenities at the other people.
Pretty proud of you, son.
Ice cream.
You want to get some ice cream?
That's true.
You pender?
I got a badminton tournament for the young men this weekend that soaked up a lot of time,
a little bit of hockey, but mostly
racket sport. So we had a
consolation singles
winner and a consolation doubles
loser final. So
more games, more games. Is one of
them proving to be more athletically inclined
than the other? One is
it's a little more naturally
coming to and the other one
to outthink everyone out there. So it's
very different. Gotcha. The guy
going into net is the lesser of the
skaters. I'll say that. Well, there you go.
The goal of gear arrives tomorrow,
between, like it's, we're watching the FedEx delivery.
Look at you.
Very exciting.
Very exciting.
Finally the gear.
So is he watching the playoffs?
Is there an NHL goalie that he's gravitating to?
Is there a, you know, kind of likes them all.
Yeah.
He knows, you know, he likes Markstrom.
He likes Vasilevsky.
I don't know that he is just picking favorites so much as he's like, no, I've heard
this guy's the best or I have this guy's hockey card.
I've heard this guy's winning a trophy.
He likes goalies.
There you go.
Nice.
It was a nice day yesterday.
Was, you see what's coming tomorrow?
No.
10 to 25 centimeters.
10 to 25 centimeters?
I will read you a special weather statement.
Now that might not be for Calgary.
It could be surrounding area or somewhere nearby.
I have a special statement.
Potential for significant snowfall midweek.
Snow is expected to begin Tuesday evening and continue through Wednesday.
total amounts between 10 to 25 centimeters are possible by Thursday morning
with the highest amounts falling west of Highway 2 over higher terrain.
The snow will be heavy and wet and maybe mixed with rain in some areas.
Total amounts of snowfall will vary wildly.
The fourth time we're doing this.
Tees us with summer and then another blast.
Once May long.
I did, now in fairness, I did take the wintertime.
fires off my wife's car Saturday. So you're welcome.
10 to 25 wet, heavy? No. No.
There's another one. Where is that? It'll stop snowing by time stampede's here, right? That's the promise.
This was another one that I could have played. God damn it. There's a number of them that
I could have put in there. Let's do our betway bats. Only two games. Only two, two. Two.
two, just two games tonight in the
national hockey of leagues,
the leagues of hockey.
And our picks,
our gaming partner,
is Betway.
A, Betway. You can get a free bet up to
$200 if your first bet loses, create a new

You can then use that to bet on your favorite sports.
Offer only available outside

Yes.
Here's what I've got for you.
Tampa Bay, Florida.
What does Verhege do?
He puts things to bed.
Florida, at home with a chance to end the series.
I'm taking Cardo Verhege as the last goal scorer of the game.
Oh my God, that's genius.
Plus 700.
It's a shot in the dark, but why not?
Game hunting, Dean.
And Dallas, Vegas.
Give me some Chandler Stevenson.
Just to get a point.
Before he signs in Calgary this summer, you want to see a point here?
Pretty good hockey player.
Just get a point.
Plus one, 10.
So dipping, you know what I'm doing?
I'm dipping my,
uh,
my gout-fueled toe in each game tonight.
Goat?
No, that's okay.
Okay, good.
I got one hockey, one baseball.
Let's say go.
Steven Stamcoast, you're going to keep score.
I'm going to keep betting.
You're going to score goals.
Plus one 40s, five and four games.
Not bad.
Kansas City.
They're interoperable.
It's a brand new three-game set.
They took three or four from the Jays in Missouri.
I'll take Yariol Rodriguez over five and a half strikeouts.
He's had six and seven two of his first three starts in the bigs.
That's almost even money.
I've liked this Cuban guy.
He's got some panache if I think that word means what I think it means.
I think it does.
A little moxie.
If you, yeah.
Personality.
Gumpchin.
I had some panache once.
Got a cream for it.
Five, seven days, tops, totally gone.
No worries.
Like ret housing cool,
up cans?
Tubbs.
Bet the responsible way with Betway.
Official gaming partners of Barn Burner.
Yeah, that free bet up to 200 if your first bet loses.
You got to create the new account, though.
That's the whole kind of hook.
You create the account.
Then you scan the QR code,
redeem the bonus.
Place that bet, and they're going to take care of you up to 200 if it loses.
then use that to be creative sports,
only available outside of Ontario.
I've got a few things here for you before we say farewell.
I do.
Just some videos for starters.
Congrats to the Calgary Buffaloes,
who went to the Tulles Cup,
the National Championship,
lost in a tight one in the semis,
played for bronze against Markham yesterday.
The Markham got it here.
Markham waxers.
The waxers.
They tied after regulation, tied after overtime, go to a shootout, and Kale Svensson, the
goaltender, made 36 saves in the game, was perfect in the shootout.
They win bronze, coming home from Nova Scotia with a bronze medal with their win for the
buffs.
And this was a little on, they had the online broadcast and that.
This was some of the post game.
If I may before we start, this is Kale Swenson, the goalkeeper and Sean Mullen, a palomine
during the interview. What was working for you in that today? I just I just kept calm, cool,
collected, trusted the boys with the process. They've turned it into a press conference on us here.
How close has this team been? How much fun has it been together this year? Oh, that's the best thing ever.
All the boys are so cool. Go! All the boys are really close and we're a good group of kids and we love
each other. Well, congratulations. Go celebrate. Thank you.
Love it. Love it.
And I believe you.
You losing, sorry, you lose in the semis and that it's a heartbreaker, right?
And you all winner and you're, you don't, comes to an end.
But you bounce back and you win.
You know, you lose to get silver.
You win to get bronze.
So good on the boys coming home with a medal.
Sorry, go ahead, Ryan.
And I believe our old pal morning show Matt's kid is on that team.
He is.
He is.
He was named one of the D of the tournament.
Good for him.
Great work buffs.
He's not.
working on that radio station, is he?
I don't know.
Radio, what's that?
I don't know.
Okay, so that's that.
You mentioned, now you had Taylor Luan,
the, uh, Luan, yeah.
Luan.
Is it Luan?
Okay, sorry.
I was pretty sure with Lou.
My bad.
You can Google it?
Absolutely.
Catfish.
That's the thing in Nashville, right?
So you saw here, he was,
They're pouring it off the back, off the fish and onto them.
There are other ways to do it.
It would be like, it can't be a shooy with a catfish, but this, you know, you want to step it up a bit.
This is a young lady.
Pink can down the fish gullet and shooey or something.
Where did all that beer go?
There's nothing in there.
is gross.
What are you doing later?
Not that.
There's enough beer in there.
And to your point, it doesn't...
It disappears.
I think it's best for her.
I appreciate her enthusiasm.
I like what she's about.
I could party with this girl,
but that's disgusting.
It's disgusting, yeah.
Taylor Lewin.
Taylor Lewin.
Well, yeah, that's how it's spelled.
That's how they pronounce it on the internet.
well, I listen to his podcast, and it's not how they pronounce it there.
So I don't know what to say.
Rhett gets sleepy.
Hey, you know, was it two weeks ago?
We had noodles on.
I was in Calgary.
You're in studio, right?
Which is supposed to be energizing and that.
Don't feel bad.
Don't feel bad.
NHL playoffs are happening.
So to NBA.
And you know how we love the NBA on TNT.
You got Shaq and Chuck and all that.
Just love it.
But especially, they can get late.
Some of these games, they go late and that, and it can be a lot.
This was Kenny.
The highest scoring team in the league with 123 a game,
and they score 125 tonight, wined by 17.
Back with more on inside.
In just a moment.
Are we keeping you up, Jet?
Oh, are you fading?
130.
I was doing the break.
Oh, oh.
Oh, Joe.
Hey, that looked like Chuckster.
Let's go.
We're going.
And I only talking about this lady, it's got to be some music.
I'm sleeping at home.
Sleep at home, Jet.
You got work to do tonight when you get to the crib.
Hey, Eric, you got a blanket?
You want a neck pillow?
You got work to do.
I was doing the commercial break.
You want neck pillow?
Neck pillow?
Love it.
Love it.
And we.
just the last little thing, just stuff
collected from the weekend.
I'm not sure how it works.
What is it? Fanatics?
Is that who does? If you want to get a jersey
with your name on it and stuff?
I know that there's a lot of names that you just
cannot get. They'll just, we're not putting that on the back of a jersey.
And maybe it's the NHL or I think even the NFL
really polices it hard.
Yeah, people were trying to get Ron Mexico jersey.
Yeah.
People realized that was Michael Vicks or whatever.
Yeah.
Trying to do stuff like that.
So I don't know.
the NHL doesn't. And in fairness, maybe this is
this is the guy's last name. But a
LA King fan at the game last night watching Oilers
at jobbing or whatever it's called there.
But the combination of the number and the name
lead me to believe that might not
be his real name. I remember Voinov and there's
Gavricov, but I don't remember. Yeah.
Yeah. Petit saw.
and Laryonov and
Kruytov played in Vancouver
This
Anyway
Can't come back from that
Can you?
See you tomorrow, buddies
