But on this night, it was their night. From games two to eight, they scored nine goals in those seven games. Yeah. They did not get a bounce. And it's like, are they that bad? Or are they not getting bounces? Is it both? That's the type of bounce they didn't get for seven games in a row.

In this kind of market, this goal deprived market, you're going to take Coronado out. And they did. In this economy, you're taking that Coronado out? Hard to believe. Jeez. So he did not play last night. And they got to win.

And the coach is a genius. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. You cannot accuse him of undercoaching through 10 games. We've seen all kinds of line combinations and pairs and ins and outs and healthies. and um so coronado two goals and an assist yeah i mean well let's hear from this the question was asked after the game of corn i mean sharon govich missed a couple came back in scored he said you know i kind of like this a little bit more urgency

to his game the question was asked i believe by a nancy uh when when matt coronado now gets back into the lineup what do you expect or what do you need to see from him for Matt to be Matt, not feel like he's got to do something every shift. You know, it's just go out there and play his game. Because when Matt does that, for me, his work ethic is never in question. He's a try too hard guy. Sometimes he wants to help the team in whatever way he can. But sometimes if you try too hard, it just doesn't work.

You just complicate it. So for him, it's just come back in the lineup, feel good about the quality of player that he is. No, he's a good player and just go play the game. That's it. His work ethic's always going to be there. For him, it's just go play the game. the game. He was actually asked about it before the game as well. And he had said, look, this is a, like, when Matt gets back in was asked by one of the reporters who said, no,

no, like this is one game and he'll be back. But now you've got the winning lineup. And I kind of thought there wasn't really a sore thumb sticking out. And it's, you know, you've got pospical who's approaching a return. Like, if we've said it before, we'll say it again. Like, it feels like they've got too many wingers and he's one you want in. Yeah, that's probably the thing. It's probably more numbers than... Yeah, and POST's not even back. Like, it's... If you look at the guys that aren't playing the last three games,

it's Igor, Coronado, and Pospesal, like at some point, all those guys will be available, so what are you doing here? Sell, sell, sell. So there was the lineup from last night, and another one of the noteworthy events from the... You don't say that top line or whatever one, at least the one that's at the top of the screen.

Cadre with Hubert, oh, that's nothing new, but then Morgan Frost on the right side. Now, that is new. he's not played with Caudry or Huberto and he's mostly been a centerman by trade. I don't know that he's played winging Cotry before. So he moves to the wing. Connor Zeri moves to the middle between Farabee and Sharon Govich.

Obviously Zeri, Sharon Govich, they connect for a goal. Codry, Huberto, that line seemed to work. And the Coleman line was unreal. Coach was asked. So this is going to do. Moving, moving Frost with Codry and Huberto. What did you think? Figer.

I really did. I thought there was a little bit of creativity to it where there was three guys that were trying to make some plays, especially through the neutral zone into the offensive zone. I think that's where they can be a good line for us. And we'll see. We'll give them another chance to go there. I think NAS likes it a little bit because he's got another center on that line

that Morgan was our best centerman tonight, centerman, best face-off man tonight. And I think it just gives you options as to who's feeling better in the circle. So I think it worked tonight. You did notice I'm taking them some draws This by playing the wing, which is good. They've not been a great face-off team. It hasn't killed them, but they're not better than 50%.

He was 8 for 14. That's their top guy. Yeah, it's safe to say he is their top, at least face-off guy, if not top-centerman. He's best of us. He would have been their best too last. So, I mean, look, when you have lost eight straight games, start trying some stuff.

Take rid away. to your point, usually you don't break up a winning lineup. I don't know it's a, how could you take this guy out of the, out of the lineup, but in that top nine at the very least, more so than was it a winner, it seemed to work. Yeah. Hansa hits a goal post. Granted it was off a, I don't know how the Rangers give up a two on all, but.

And then I don't know how you don't put it in the net. The NHL deed. But nonetheless, yeah, so move on, road trip. Is it the longest one of the season? It's short, long one of the season, but yeah, four games, I think they'll match that more than once, but normally you get a five, six game or not this year. Four game is the longest of the season. Yeah. So. So there you go.

Ontario, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, home. Yeah. Tuesday, Toronto, Thursday, Ottawa, Saturday, Nashville, all different, I mean, four o'clock, five o'clock, one 30 p.m. Just be ready to play. In the back to back in there in Philly, they go Saturday, Sunday. It is not the matinee Sunday in Philly. They usually start those after football season. And maybe that's our next chance we'll get to see Devin Cooley because he's only played one and he was good in it.

And yet we're 10 games in. He's on track for eight games. Right. You've been quiet. I really want to hear what you have to think. I've been babbling away here. I'm dominating the conversation. Oh, you're so dialed in on everything.

And if you take Klop Kout, it's like, okay, well, if you're putting them back in, like, are we going to have fourth line Coronado with Kirkland and Longberg? Like, does that help Matt? really accomplish. I would imagine what you would. Oh, you can spot it in my power play. Now maybe you slide Frost into the middle, drop Zeri down. Oh, now we're configuring everything. This is the whole thing. So if you're going to bring

Coronado back, you kind of have to tinker with your top nine, which everyone liked. It worked. You can play him for Klopka if you need. Yeah. Yeah, if you really want to. You can get that you're counting on Kirkland-Lombard, Coronado to create offense, but you could get them back in, I guess. but then as things change over the course of a game you can move guys around.

Shut set in stone, these lineups when they're in last place, Dean. They are. So I feel like the coach can do as he pleases and everyone else should shut the up. Yeah. The thing with Coronado, to be mildly serious for a one,

remember last year he missed that because I went back just to check. He didn't play the first two games of the season. Then he came back in. He was down in the miners. He got recalled immediately. And then remember, he was healthy, scratched. three games, got back in, and then was relatively consistent from that point forward.

The healthy scratch, whether it's, you know, you need to learn a lesson, or if it was just take a breath, you're here, you're not going back down, you're an NHL player now, just, as he said there, don't try and do too much. You can be a little bit too much of a Harvey try hard,

just play your game, be where you need to be. And he kind of did that. And he was pretty consistent in terms of points anyway. Are we worried about this kid? No. Not at all. I'm just saying a year ago. He got scratched and came back and responded well.

And I would assume the same is going to have. This feels like it ever scratching than Igor. Like Igor was a work ethic thing. And it could have been a few other guys that could have been singled out. But after the BXA rant and all that, okay, he's the guy. But Huska said the exact opposite about Coroner. He says he's one of our hardest workers is ahead of the game. Like, I'm not taking him out because he's not working.

I'm taking him out because he's trying to do too much because he sees the trough for in and I'm trying to remind him to simplify. He sees his paycheck. the other two times were the aforementioned Winnipeg game and the season opener were felt like all three were kind of shifted into lucky. What the odds are in them scoring more than four? He has aged well, and there are certain sentiment that are smart enough to go, okay, what's he make, seven and a half for the rest of time? Seven even for the next three years.

And so are you telling me at seven and a half with the cap going up that even if he is your third line shutdown centerman, that this is. I don't know that he can play that role, but I think still upgrade on a lot of team's second line center. Like you want to start a scoring line. Why can't he play that role? Well, it's defensive metrics. They're not good.

But he's a really good offensive player. Like 30 plus goals, creates offense, one-on-one skills. He's his defensive metrics. So it means he can't. Well, I mean, look, is he a menacing face-off winning physical, defensive guy? No. That doesn't mean he's not a great player. I think he is.

You ever watched a guy get older and play a different style? Yeah. Okay. Throw that out. He'd be a guy that could. Okay. That was kind of important. I was that he has the, anyway.

And even if I was the one that said we should trade him. And you guys all told me I was an idiot. He couldn't do it. He couldn't do it. Well, now he can. So trade him. He hasn't been traded yet. Two things have happened, too, to be fair.

Like, A, the cap skyrocketed. And B, he's aged way better than you could have imagined. He had his career year last year at age 34. I didn't see anyone predicting that. And three years of past since that. Yeah. And so there's less term left on the deal. But you're right.

I did not think this was a movable item. This was an immovable object when he was playing under Daryl, and it was clear they weren't on the same page. And frankly, he looked worse than he does today. If it's a competitive team and you've got a chance to win a cup, like, I don't know this can be tough. Like, no, no, no, I really want to stay here and see through this rebuild. Oh, that's like a huge threat that the flames are facing, right? You don't have to ask you. I don't have to talk to that. Yeah, the only we're talking about is if the best offers.

I know, you're worried. Yes, but I'm not saying that's going to happen. That's quite a leap into, it's probably Buffalo, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Edmonton, Columbus, Columbus. Maybe Carolina, some guys don't like it there. Right? Like, if you went through. it.

And again, when did you make the list? Who knows? It might be a rusty old list. It might be current and fresh as of this summer. Yeah, I guess it's what teams not so much and where does he not want to go? It's who's going to be a trade partner? Who's looking for that type of player? I think you could probably put together 15 to 20 teams.

So what's the price? So what's the return, as you said, probably unlikely that there's going to be any salary retained by the time? It's a $7 million ad. You trade money out potentially in a deal, but... Take some money back in. I look at Montreal as a fit that makes a ton of sense, and it's like, okay, it's the last year of Line A, are they done with that project?

You could probably take that off to make room. You don't need to eat money if you take some back in a sense, and then you're not using one of your retention slots for the next three years. That's the type of thing that would make sense for the Calgary Flames. Toronto, he'd make a ton of sense. You know, they could use a little more offense after Marner leaves. You know, you've got, Tava's having a really nice start to the year,

but another center wouldn't be the worst. There's a lot of teams where it's like, yeah, he's better than their second line center. And he just scored 34? 34. What did he scored last year? 34, 35? He still looks to me.

It sounds like a guy in Calgary. He still looks to me like a guy that's going to help a lot of teams. He's got jamming his game. I think he's been controversial in the past. This is a mature guy now. He's won a Stanley Cup in Colorado. He was very good for the avalanche when they won. You wouldn't be considering training because he's doing what he's supposed to do here,

except you don't know what direction of teams going in, you're worried about asset management. So the Leafs added Scott Lotton last year, who is a veteran center that is not as good as Nazim Kadri, and I believe they parted with a prospect and a first and got like a sixth and a seventh back. That would be like one of the highest value. He's playing fourth line center for them

pretty much has since he arrived in town. This is a much better player than that. So if you want to dream on a high return, if you get the bidding more you want, I don't think it's crazy to think you're going to get a first plus other assets here. Lindholm-esque. Lindholm was a straight rental, but again, younger and the term wasn't confusing. So I don't know.

Like, I really don't know. I think at the end of the day, the secret saucing getting a huge haul for a return is just how many teams are bidding. Like if there's two teams that really want them, add another, add another. It's not a second. It's a first. The second picks another third. It's a second. Throw in a B prospect.

Well, now it's an A prospect. That is the formula to get a huge return is having multiple suitors that really want a guy. So I don't know what the rest of the center market's going to look like for rental. and or trade market. But that plays a role. How many buyers? How many centers are out there? Like that's the thing for us.

We can look at and say, well, now there's only three years left at $7 million. But for other teams, there's three years left. This is not a rental. This is not, we're not paying through the nose.

And if you're Marie in the flames, it's like, yeah, we're not keen on eating money is the philosophy they've had. They've rarely done it. But it's like, well, if we retain, here's the cost to do it.

I need X. and then I'm willing to do it. But it is a little dangerous with three years left because that's retention for 26, 27, 27, 27, 28, 28, 29. It would have to be a spectacular return that you feel like you wouldn't be getting close to if you didn't eat. Yeah, like if someone said two firsts and a prospect,

I'm like, okay, we've got to do this. And again, I don't think that's reasonable, but I don't think a first round for Scott Lawton's reasonable either and it happened last year. A second round for Brian Dumlin happened last year. So what is the market like? We don't know. We'll see when these standing settle out a bit.

You know, like if Nashville's horrible as Ryan O'Reilly on the market, that would hurt the Calgary flames. So I was trying to remember who it was talking, that Stamcoast. They're like, well, we're going to see what happens here with this team. Oh, for sure. And we'll meet around Christmas and decide what we're going to be doing moving forward. Stammer said that.
