Hello, everyone. Welcome to another week of scintillating sports podcasting here on Barnburner.
It's a short week.
It is not for everyone, for some.
It will...
It's going to be a long week for some.
Yeah, it depends.
Yeah, it depends how we frame that.
Welcome to the show, presentation of Bet365.
Woo, baby.
Bet 365.
It's the best time of year for Bet365.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary, a bet three, six, five.

And your comment will get posted on the program.
That's how that works.
Little trade off.
Already super is piling up.
We figure if, you know, we figure if you're generous.
At least we can do this.
Got to show your thing on the thing.
We'll have Jane.
Don't show your thing to anyone.
You just keep this thing.
Watch your coffee there on, Jeremy.
Tomorrow we will have a guest from the U.
Center coming on the show.
We've completed a year with all of our Super Chat money's going to the U
Centers of Calgary and they are thrilled and they would love to come on and say thank you
to the viewers and tell us more about the charity.
Tremendous.
Very good.
That's.
That's very good.
It's a very good thing.
How was everyone's weekend?
This weekend-y, I guess.
You had a party.
That's folks over.
That game Friday night was phenomenal.
Electric.
Didn't have to talk to anyone.
Everyone was dialed into the TV.
He's a closet introvert, hey, this guy?
All the old you get the worse.
Yeah.
You really?
Jack to.
Jack's already.
Jacks are you.
Yeah.
Had a party.
I don't know.
Didn't get too old.
Was anyone wearing a lampshade in their head?
You know?
Keys in the fish bowl kind of thing.
Ha, ha. Hey.
Hot tub?
No.
Disappointing. Yeah.
Skitty dipping?
No one wanted to join you in the lake.
But it's cold out there.
Yeah, I know.
How did we do Saturday?
Well, there was another ballgame Saturday.
That one didn't go as well.
Less memorable.
A jeez fan.
I feel like I was really running around on Saturday.
Were you really running around?
That was me too.
Incredible rate.
Very?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We had hockey foyer.
We had multiple practices at different times.
We had photos yesterday.
Photos were yesterday.
Yesterday was, yeah, busy as well.
We had the photos.
Team parties.
And a fire hall visit.
Oh.
Wonderful fire hall visit.
What did you do at the old fire hall?
I didn't go.
The kids went and had a fire hall visit.
Drove by them at the fire hall.
Yeah.
Okay.
Then the U.
15 Bisons were playing.
Caught a period of that.
Very nice.
Look out.
Yeah.
Here come the bison.
Don the Bison.
And then I went down with Flamescane.
Because I love going to the dome.
Last night.
I'm at the dome.
I'm out and about.
Cronner.
Yeah.
Theo, Tim Hunter.
Croner and Sushi.
Henderson.
That's a vibe, huh?
Yeah.
How many periods you last on last night?
Huh?
How many periods?
Until they scored the fourth goal.
Okay.
Not bad.
Whenever that was.
That's better than was forecast the last week.
Whenever that was.
Actually, I should promote it.
Pedest.
fourth goal was short-handed in the third period you lasted until the third good for you buddy holy
that's real you know what at your age geez that's real staying power or was it late second the fourth goal
of the game the third flames goal no fourth flames period right yeah just when you think you got a guy
figured out and no I'm dialed in the more I go the more I like it the more I want to go the more
I'll like it more and go more.
If you were told when you walked into the building,
as soon as the flames get their fourth of the night,
you can go home.
You'd be bringing a sleeping bed.
You'd be bringing a sleeping bed.
You think, okay, so I guess I'm not going to Nashville.
When's the next home game?
When are they?
Leaving till the flames get their fourth.
Oh, Columbus next Wednesday.
Perfect.
Camping at the dome for 10 days.
The fellas got to win.
And they scored some goals.
Scores of goals.
Jack's destroyed.
They went out there.
They whoops, man.
They did.
Jack was sure they were going to shatter.
The Sabre's 2014 record for the fewest goals in the season.
You can't be putting up five spots to get that record.
Let's take a look at it.
Oh, I'm darned.
I mean, let's, let's kind of get into it.
It's not get cheeky about this.
Not get cheeky about who we are.
But I mean, this is early on, fellas.
Nice little dish there.
Been a 42 win.
Hubbardo, Goddry, Zing.
He's feeling it.
He is feeling it.
He's one, nothing flames.
I didn't know.
He gave the point.
Watch the big baller back here in the point.
Ristern.
Now, dumper.
What happens to Ulchester?
he's like what the age he's got to say what
doing the Mike Smith thing throwing his hands up
Not my fault dear not good
Not good but then
Not long later
Laaba
The floor is lava
Cuts the lead in half
I may studeau one
How come he's got a full cage on
Jibs
Look at this Connor Zerry out in front
Nice play to Yigor
Or Yigore
Ar Yigor
Rangers had some chances at the other end
Down comes Zeri nice little move
that made a 3 to 1
Dustin Wolfe
Out of the old penalty box there's
Mika Zabanajad who looks very old
Another glorious chance for the Rangers
Doesn't doesn't transpire
And then it's a two on one
It's a zing and zong and a zing
Blake Coleman
His fourth of the season
Short-handed
Rets heading to the exits
It's four to one
A two on O
Hansig off the pipe
Oh you can't buy one
Can't buy one
No he can't
You and Joel Farabee.
You can't buy goals, guys.
You've got to put them in a net.
Still in the third, and you know what?
You're living right when these go in.
Flames can't get a bounce.
They can't get a goal.
But on this night, it was their night.
From games two to eight, they scored nine goals in those seven games.
Yeah.
They did not get a bounce.
And it's like, are they that bad?
Or are they not getting bounces?
Is it both?
That's the type of bounce they didn't get for seven games in a row.
Unlike on night one where you had a stick.
They were already up 401.
They didn't need to get out of their own trip, probably.
Yeah, take that one to Toronto.
I should have put it in the corner, Coleman.
Yeah.
Save that.
So 5-1, Flames win it.
Snapping a...
Not close.
Eight games skid.
Hoy.
Not as energetic as the...
When Montreal came to town.
But I was also up top and not in lower suite, so maybe that had...
That's, I think...
I thought...
And the Rangers don't look as interested in hockey as the HABS do.
Correct.
And their fans likely would not have been as boisterous either.
No.
Because you do get some Rangers fans, but that was not the performance to get them out of their
seats. I was thinking about noodles, his comment about some guys, and I think he actually mentioned
Panarin, guys that have dry hair after the game. Right. It felt like a dry hair kind of night
for, uh, for our TV. Panera had a tough schedule. Is it? Yeah. They've lost three in a row and
six or seven and played Thursday. So yeah, yeah. Hey, you know what, jury's going to get it all figured
out. Is he? He's got all that, you know what? He got all those negative influences out of the room.
What would you do if you're jury?
You're screwed, right?
Because it's like I have a, I'm the GM of the New York Rangers.
She's one for sure.
But this guy above me, he's really pulling some strings.
He's a bit of a, I can't really tell him to pound sand.
Bit of a loony tune.
But I'm kind of this.
Now my team doesn't like me.
Yeah, the team hates me now.
Tough smell.
And the team's not very good.
They should be a lot better.
They were good.
And then they started tink.
and now they're not good.
We've got a first overall pick over there.
LeFrenier took him at first overall,
and the goalie, any given night, he's the best in the world.
We're paying him a bunch, and that Fox guy, he won a Norris,
and we gave money, and now we're kind of,
he's kind of going.
I didn't notice him.
It's close to Halloween, and he's going into a pumpkin.
Panarin's making a lot of money, but we're going to have to trade this guy now.
He's up at the end of the year.
Up at the end of the year.
Are we really, are we going to trade?
What?
You're going to bring McDavid to play with him,
but that plans are gone on Ireland.
Yeah, I know.
See?
Array, I should say.
Best plans are paved with gold.
No plans.
Yeah, that's what they say.
It's like expectations, Dean.
Make an ass out of you and me.
That's what they do.
Yep.
So, I guess, of note, there's some things to note from this hockey game
is we really get into it.
We're in the McLeod Law LLP Studios.
That's where we get into it.
It's where we get into it.
Right here in the LLP, McLeod Law Studios.
LLP is licensed legal practitioner.
No.
Lazy, lazy people?
No, definitely not that.
It's not that.
That's us.
This is Barnburner LLP over here.
They are the very best.
Calgary based, Calgary Born and Bread,
if whatever your legal assistance is.
Learned, learned people.
There you go.
They are the very best.
Great people, great partners.
And very likable, lovable, Peter?
Yes.
Yeah.
That fits for sure.
Yeah, absolutely.
It does.
Limited liability partnership.
be an option too, but who knows?
Who's to say?
Call them up and ask him.
So there was some, boy,
now I know you don't go on to the social media whole lot.
I sure don't.
And I don't as much as I used to, but I figured, well,
it's a Sunday and there's, you know, I'm going to do some of this.
Just see.
And the word comes out, Matthew Coronado is not going to play against the New York
Rangers.
He's going to be a healthy scratch.
And the Twitterverse, they said, what the H is going on?
We need goals and this is our goal score.
one of our best young scores.
And at this time, really?
WTF.
In this kind of market, this goal deprived market,
you're going to take Coronado out.
And they did.
In this economy, you're taking that Coronado out?
Hard to believe.
Jeez.
So he did not play last night.
And they got to win.
And the coach is a genius.
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah.
You cannot accuse him of undercoaching through 10 games.
We've seen all kinds of line combinations and pairs and ins and outs and healthies.
and um so coronado two goals and an assist yeah i mean
well let's hear from this the question was asked after the game of corn i mean sharon govich
missed a couple came back in scored he said you know i kind of like this a little bit more urgency
to his game the question was asked i believe by a nancy uh when when matt coronado now
gets back into the lineup what do you expect or what do you need to see from him
for Matt to be Matt, not feel like he's got to do something every shift.
You know, it's just go out there and play his game.
Because when Matt does that, for me, his work ethic is never in question.
He's a try too hard guy.
Sometimes he wants to help the team in whatever way he can.
But sometimes if you try too hard, it just doesn't work.
You just complicate it.
So for him, it's just come back in the lineup, feel good about the quality of player that he is.
No, he's a good player and just go play the game.
That's it.
His work ethic's always going to be there.
For him, it's just go play the game.
the game. He was actually asked about it before the game as well. And he had said, look,
this is a, like, when Matt gets back in was asked by one of the reporters who said, no,
no, like this is one game and he'll be back. But now you've got the winning lineup. And I kind of
thought there wasn't really a sore thumb sticking out. And it's, you know, you've got pospical
who's approaching a return. Like, if we've said it before, we'll say it again. Like, it feels
like they've got too many wingers and he's one you want in. Yeah, that's probably the thing. It's
probably more numbers than...
Yeah, and POST's not even back.
Like, it's...
If you look at the guys that aren't playing the last three games,
it's Igor, Coronado, and Pospesal,
like at some point, all those guys will be available,
so what are you doing here?
Sell, sell, sell.
So there was the lineup from last night,
and another one of the noteworthy events from the...
You don't say that top line or whatever one,
at least the one that's at the top of the screen.
Cadre with Hubert, oh, that's nothing new,
but then Morgan Frost on the right side.
Now, that is new.
he's not played with Caudry or Huberto
and he's mostly been a centerman by trade.
I don't know that he's played winging Cotry before.
So he moves to the wing.
Connor Zeri moves to the middle between Farabee and Sharon Govich.
Obviously Zeri, Sharon Govich, they connect for a goal.
Codry, Huberto, that line seemed to work.
And the Coleman line was unreal.
Coach was asked.
So this is going to do.
Moving, moving Frost with Codry and Huberto.
What did you think?
Figer.
I really did.
I thought there was a little bit of creativity to it
where there was three guys that were trying to make some plays,
especially through the neutral zone into the offensive zone.
I think that's where they can be a good line for us.
And we'll see.
We'll give them another chance to go there.
I think NAS likes it a little bit because he's got another center on that line
that Morgan was our best centerman tonight,
centerman, best face-off man tonight.
And I think it just gives you options as to who's feeling better in the circle.
So I think it worked tonight.
You did notice I'm taking them some draws
This by playing the wing, which is good.
They've not been a great face-off team.
It hasn't killed them, but they're not better than 50%.
He was 8 for 14.
That's their top guy.
Yeah, it's safe to say he is their top,
at least face-off guy, if not top-centerman.
He's best of us.
He would have been their best too last.
So, I mean, look, when you have lost eight straight games,
start trying some stuff.
Take rid away.
to your point, usually you don't break up a winning lineup.
I don't know it's a, how could you take this guy out of the,
out of the lineup, but in that top nine at the very least,
more so than was it a winner, it seemed to work.
Yeah.
Hansa hits a goal post.
Granted it was off a, I don't know how the Rangers give up a two on all, but.
And then I don't know how you don't put it in the net.
The NHL deed.
But nonetheless, yeah, so move on, road trip.
Is it the longest one of the season?
It's short, long one of the season, but yeah, four games, I think they'll match that more than once,
but normally you get a five, six game or not this year. Four game is the longest of the season.
Yeah. So.
So there you go.
Ontario, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, home.
Yeah.
Tuesday, Toronto, Thursday, Ottawa, Saturday, Nashville, all different, I mean, four o'clock, five o'clock, one 30 p.m.
Just be ready to play.
In the back to back in there in Philly, they go Saturday, Sunday.
It is not the matinee Sunday in Philly.
They usually start those after football season.
And maybe that's our next chance we'll get to see Devin Cooley because he's only played one and he was good in it.
And yet we're 10 games in.
He's on track for eight games.
Right.
You've been quiet.
I really want to hear what you have to think.
I've been babbling away here.
I'm dominating the conversation.
Oh, you're so dialed in on everything.
It's nothing but.
I mean, none of this would be lost on you because you were at the game.
I was at the game.
I listened to the radio on the way home.
So I got a lot of scoops.
What kind of scoops are you got?
I don't know what.
Maybe scoops is the wrong word.
Just Intel.
Kind of listening.
And I got Holbrook assigned.
Yeah, what's the intel you go?
Everyone was excited and how are they going to take Coronado and put him, reinsert him into this lineup, this winning line, this five goals scoring lineup, Dean.
They're back.
How are going to do it?
Dean?
Huh?
Because he said he was going to.
If he doesn't do it, then he's a liar.
You don't want to be a liar.
Nobody wants to be able.
And I don't know how they're going to put them in it.
Would you be?
And I actually wouldn't.
I'd say, you know what?
We haven't won enough games this year, fellas.
I don't have to cater to the 20.
How old is he?
Three, 23 year old, 25 goal.
Sorry.
Yes, you'll be an important part of the team.
You can wait until we lose.
And if you take Klop Kout, it's like, okay, well, if you're putting them back in,
like, are we going to have fourth line Coronado with Kirkland and Longberg?
Like, does that help Matt?
really accomplish. I would imagine what you would.
Oh, you can spot it in my power play.
Now maybe you slide Frost into the middle,
drop Zeri down. Oh, now we're
configuring everything. This is the whole thing. So if you're going to bring
Coronado back, you kind of have to tinker with your top nine,
which everyone liked. It worked.
You can play him for Klopka if you need.
Yeah. Yeah, if you really want to.
You can get that you're counting on Kirkland-Lombard,
Coronado to create offense, but you could get them back in, I guess.
but then as things change over the course of a game
you can move guys around.
Shut set in stone,
these lineups when they're in last place, Dean.
They are.
So I feel like the coach can do as he pleases
and everyone else should shut the up.
Yeah.
The thing with Coronado,
to be mildly serious for a one,
remember last year he missed that because I went back just to check.
He didn't play the first two games of the season.
Then he came back in.
He was down in the miners.
He got recalled immediately.
And then remember, he was healthy, scratched.
three games, got back in,
and then was relatively consistent from that point forward.
The healthy scratch, whether it's, you know,
you need to learn a lesson,
or if it was just take a breath,
you're here, you're not going back down,
you're an NHL player now,
just, as he said there,
don't try and do too much.
You can be a little bit too much of a Harvey try hard,
just play your game, be where you need to be.
And he kind of did that.
And he was pretty consistent in terms of points anyway.
Are we worried about this kid?
No.
Not at all.
I'm just saying a year ago.
He got scratched and came back and responded well.
And I would assume the same is going to have.
This feels like it ever scratching than Igor.
Like Igor was a work ethic thing.
And it could have been a few other guys that could have been singled out.
But after the BXA rant and all that, okay, he's the guy.
But Huska said the exact opposite about Coroner.
He says he's one of our hardest workers is ahead of the game.
Like, I'm not taking him out because he's not working.
I'm taking him out because he's trying to do too much because he sees the trough for
in and I'm trying to remind him to simplify.
He sees his paycheck.
It finally came out middle of October, so he got the first one.
Oh, that's good.
Congrats.
He's going, son of a B, I've got to earn this.
Maybe, yeah.
Chill out.
Or now he said, he's like, I don't even need to play and I'm getting the same amount of money.
Popcorn's pretty good a later.
Tremendous.
Wolf was great again.
I mean, it's a 5-1 win.
It doesn't feel like it was close, but there were some saves that were made that could have
changed things a little bit.
all the they'd have puckered up if uh wolfie hadn't closed the door that's right another toe save
yeah that's good he's real good yeah he's real good i thought the one hit the post but he actually
told back you got it yeah with the battle oh that one was incredible yeah really was incredible
i'll cry abba uh eight of the next 12 on the road go get them boys like that's a lot it's the
four game road trip they're back for two they're out for two they're back for two they're out for
to. How does that go? Yeah.
One.
Fort or on the road. Put your left foot in.
Take your left foot out. Put your right foot out. Put your right foot. Take it all about.
So we love the flames. You're doing good boys. Keep it up. There's nothing to see here.
Well, you have to like the efforts since the efforts are fine. But yeah. I mean, one, we set it.
They're going to get some bounces. They are going to collect some wins. There are going to be games where they do scoring off goals.
But I don't know that that means when they go to Toronto tomorrow, that,
you can put them down for four.
Last night was the first time they exceeded three goals in regulation,
and the only other time,
the other two times were the aforementioned Winnipeg game
and the season opener were felt like all three were kind of shifted into lucky.
What the odds are in them scoring more than four?
We'll take the under.
I can't sign in with my thumbprint anymore.
Yeah, what happened?
New phone.
Pissed me out.
Damn.
No, I switched back to the old phone because I couldn't remember some passwords.
And it's still not working.
Is the tire tread the thumbprint now?
You've got to run over the phone again with your truck.
It's going out to the woods, Dean.
I'm going to build a tent.
I'm just going to chill out.
Well, it was good knowing you.
Appreciate your efforts.
It's good running.
Yeah, it's real good.
Who'd you see at the game?
Tell us some stories.
I already told you who I saw.
Well, I mean, you can, you name some names.
What the hell do you mean?
What the hell do you mean?
I'm looking for something, anything from him.
That's hockey royalty in this time.
Right.
I'm aware.
Yeah.
And you're just like, I got to talk to Archie.
Okay.
Anderson.
Big man, tough.
Look up his videos.
He's in Tom.
Theo Fleury.
Theo.
Should be in Hall of Fame, Theo Fleury.
Should have his number in the rafters, too.
Number in the rafters, Theo Flurry.
Thank you very much.
I don't know that there's a player that accomplished statistically
what he accomplished that is not in the rafters of a team he played for for over decade.
It's wild.
I was going to say, you know, as we were talking last week about things that we maybe need to
come up with over the course of this hockey season
because hardcore flames analysis may be
becoming difficult.
Might be becoming a little tricky.
As Reds showing us today.
Even when at the games.
What do you want to talk about the offside?
I've always said this.
I did the TV and it had in between periods.
You had to talk about the period and nothing.
It's zero zero.
You had to make some bullshit up that was exciting.
That guy can't go outside.
That's bullshit.
Yeah.
Flames finally scored five and they won.
Shasturkin was very average and the Rangers looked disinterested.
Ency.
Kind of the gist of it.
No, I get the bet.
I'm not going to get, if Coronado sits, he sits.
Coach was right.
They scored five and I'd sit him again.
I don't see the need to mess with a winning lineup.
Sit him again.
Sit up again.
If you were betting on a Rangers bounce back.
It's not been a great story.
No, if you watch that game, you'd be like, this is not an inspired group.
At least they have warm and cuddly J.T. Miller to keep the spirits up.
He's a prickly person.
He's a red-assed.
Yeah.
He seems to be somewhat of a prickly character.
But what were you saying?
I was going to say just different things.
So can we have segments or what are we going to do?
I don't know.
But I was like to, is it where you look into the camera?
It's like, Murray.
Like when you used to kind of speak to the owners, if you're kind of across the table.
One on one.
Because your pals of them.
Yeah, because your pals.
So it was going to be, you know, hey Murray.
And because you mentioned it, one of mine was going to two things.
New buildings coming.
Yeah.
You're going to tear the old one down and everything's, you know, you're going to throw a lot of that stuff away because it's, you know, it's old and whatever.
But there's going to be some things that you take with you to the new building.
Banners and whatnot.
Yeah.
Hey, Murray.
Mur.
when you go into the new building
let's get rid of this
Forever a Flame thing. Yeah, you've got a chance
to write it wrong. Al McKinnis, Joe Newendike,
those guys, just retire
their numbers. Bring them back. Do it. I mean,
do it again. There'll be a way to do it.
Sell some tickets. But just, you know,
so this one's retired, but there's a banner. So as
he retired, well, no, because the number is still
those guys are worthy
of number retirement. Get rid of the Forever Flame.
Those can go in the trash.
Take Lannies and Jerome's.
and take those ones,
Kippert.
Put them up and then replace those ones
with actual retirement banners for those guys.
We'll take the Forever Flames.
Yeah, we'll put it up here as a background.
LLP,
McLeod Law LLP.
And while you're at it,
while you're putting,
you know and I can throw a 14 out there.
You're already going to be remaking the 25 and the two,
like just add a 14 in there.
I'm not here to say,
I don't know what's going.
Whole thing.
If you wanted to put something up for Johnny Goddrae,
I'd be okay with that too.
But for 14, just to stay on point, it's my, I'm talking to Murray right now.
Okay, sorry.
Don't interrupt.
Sorry, Murray.
Can you call him Mur?
Hey, Mur.
Because if you're good friends, you're just talking one on one.
Well, and if you're taking a cues from Red, he always calls him Mr. Edwards on this show.
So I think you probably should call him Mur.
So just throw a 14 up there.
Like, I get it.
I know, the time helps heal.
All wounds.
Sure does, Dean.
Time heals.
So when you get to that new building,
let's get that whole banner thing figured out.
Get her all figured out.
It's a good idea.
Thanks, pal.
So that's going to be the segment we'll do in the winter.
Well, whenever you have a suggestion,
we're going to call it, Hey, Merr.
Hey,
My God.
I don't know if Merr's going to like that.
I don't think he'd like that.
I think he would.
He knows what.
What if you're a little polite or chest?
What if it was dear Mr. Edwards?
And we pen him a letter.
I don't care what you do.
Okay.
But however you want to do it.
Yeah.
But we're going to need something.
Some segments, God damn.
But I mean, truthfully, because I thought about the Forever aflame, just retire those.
Just move on.
Just retire those numbers.
And the 14 has been dubious by its omission for years and years and years.
Yeah.
No one has worn it since.
Meanwhile, did any, well, lots of guys were 25, but yeah.
And that's fine.
So, okay.
You move on and.
I'm with you.
I think that's a reasonable take.
It's so reasonable that I think everyone.
minus the people that invented the Forever a Flame thing would be on side.
Yeah.
And I think that hopefully even those people would look back and say,
you know what?
I know what we were trying to accomplish,
but we get a fresh start.
It felt like a good idea at the time.
But that's the thing.
New building.
Fresh start.
You're moving.
Yeah.
Be a classic time to do all.
Bring the organ.
Bring the banners.
Oregon can beat it.
That thing's terrible.
It is kind of old schoolish and very.
If it was the Chicago Stadium, Oregon,
that's a good one.
Yeah.
Not the Cassio keyboard up in the corner.
Right.
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
Out.
Yeah, you want something a little more grandiose,
something.
Something.
Like,
Monster.
Somebody asked me on the Montreal game, like,
do you,
remember being on the bench?
Did you watch the big screen?
No, but the big screen was different than it was.
Yeah.
Same with the in-game entertainment.
We don't need.
A-da-da-da-da-de-de-de-de-da-de-da-da-da-da.
Go play.
Go.
Bam, bam, bam, bam.
Bam, bam.
This is not a shot against the game night.
Like, it's not the guy you didn't like his name.
But you asked that just the organ specifically,
if you want to get a big old organ.
Up credit.
Yeah.
But that,
that 1985 keyboard can,
there will be things.
I got one in my base,
but if you want to borrow it.
They'll be back and dumpsters up.
And there will be some people,
that people will be very nostalgic about things.
I need a seat or I want that or something.
There'll be a lot of stuff in there that can just.
I wonder if they'll give the alumni a seat.
Sure, they'll lay by one, but, you know,
I did say they were tearing it down to my kids yesterday.
Is that true?
Yes.
That was the plan right from day one.
All right.
Sorry.
No, because they need that land for the parking lots.
Essentially where the parking lots used to be.
We're not allowed to drive.
Trust me, you'll be driving one.
I don't know.
We've got bike lanes.
There's a couple down there.
What the hell are you talking about?
All the above.
There's a whole plan.
Pick your transport mode.
But that's what it's going to be, right?
It's going to be a green line.
I did a video for it.
Parking lot.
He had the scooter.
Yeah.
Loves you.
You do love to wear a helmet.
Yeah.
We're a helmet.
Jack,
did you follow the scooter on the weekend?
How are you healing up?
Jack,
I stayed at home.
Yeah, I was useless.
Still recovering from that.
I don't know.
What do you want to talk about the game?
It's like you're giving me shit for not having some deep insight on a 5-1 Flames victory.
They were shot on Spired.
Dino.
Well, it's a real giver.
Yeah, it's just, you know.
We were given the Backland and Coleman line shit last week, and I think,
gratefully so.
They had two really nice games against Winnipeg on the...
I'm not convinced Backlman meant to pass it on the video or on the replay.
It felt very unbacklandy, but the more I watch it, I'm like, yeah, he did.
At first, I was like, what the F?
You think the toe on the tick-tack, or the tack on the tick-tack toe was an accident?
I was wondering, but upon further review, I'm going to give it a passing grade.
Well done.
They're really nice to us.
I'm better at criticizing than I don't get more.
This is really a tough spot for a start to learn.
God.
Can we get Toronto to beat them six nothing?
Because we need to do a show on Wednesday.
I was actually watching the kids play on Saturday.
Big win, by the way.
Which kids are Wrangler?
Triple A Hawks to call.
Losers from the Royals organization.
You can't.
Don't come down to our part of town and start running your mouths.
was smack you about.
That's what we did.
He's got AAA 15 takes if you need them.
I forget what I was saying.
Yeah.
That's where we're going.
Son of it's a tough start.
This is my doing when you do the video with the children and the kids and the listeners.
I don't need to tell you about the stuff you did well because you did it well.
Way to go.
That's great.
I'm trying to help you elevate your game.
Let's work on the mistakes.
Let's clean those up.
Clean it up.
Let's get those out of there.
Yeah.
That's what I'm here for.
Thanks.
Picking people apart.
Jeez.
This is quite a development.
I didn't like the power play.
How about that?
You're going to snap it around more.
They're too static.
With your foot.
You're a D, man.
What do you think on 19?
How's correct been for you so far?
He's good, but he's going to get himself killed.
The time and space thing, it feels like you've got to figure this out quickly because a lot of
things he's trying are or aren't working, but one of the things he hasn't figured out is I'm not to get drilled.
Yeah, he's getting, he's in the line of fire.
And I think it'll be, it'll come.
It will.
It will.
Or just hope that it comes without major.
Yeah.
Injuries or issues.
He moves too well.
He moves the puck.
He's going to be good.
There's still the odd, like, oh, that would have worked in junior and it's not here, son.
And how much is Huska willing to put up with it?
Well, the worstest team is, the more you can put up with it.
I'll tell you that.
Like, let him figure it out.
Yeah.
I'd play more of him, not less of him.
That said, you know, if he hits a bit of that rookie wall,
like we saw with Monaghan and some other guys.
Not if.
When?
These are regular occurrences in people.
Yeah.
So even if it's not a rook, like you might get through the whole first year.
Yeah.
And halfway through next year, like, what the hell happened to this guy?
Yeah, yeah.
Look at Fox.
Do you notice him last night?
Not a rookie, but yeah.
I know, but there are.
He took a.
beating on the Four Nations thing and a lot of people
were criticizing his footspeed. It's kind of
of the same. He's never been an elite skater.
I don't know. I still think he's a really good defenseman, but I don't
think last night any of their guys that were elite, we're elite.
The goal he wasn't. The point I'm making, back to where we started,
it's just that it's not a clear path to
a hundred points a year, year over year.
Sorry. Especially offensive defense. Like Bobby Germany pointed
this out the other night. He's like, your Bushard,
your Carlson's, your, like, Fox. Like, a lot of these guys,
his age are still playing college.
college or junior or in pro leagues in Europe.
Bushard could go back to.
Yes.
I'll get claimed on waivers.
I just wonder, like, if he,
Bushbow, if he has a tough time sorting this out or there's just this first.
Why do you want to run him out of town?
I will not finish.
Go ahead.
This is where you're going with it.
Where am I going on?
I want him in the H.L.
You can't put him in the air.
I know, but that's where you continually harp and it's not allowed.
Are you sick?
No, I'm not sick.
What do you put your jacket on?
I'm called him, Cole.
He's a chilling here today.
Get to half out.
So what I was saying is like, do you entertain World Juniors or no?
No.
No.
He doesn't want to go to the World Junior's team.
Canna screwed him over last year.
It'd be like,
kiss my ass.
Well, I know there's that.
And they pretty much gassed everyone involved with last year's team.
But I would,
I just think back to the Monaghan year.
And I think it would have been good for him as much as he might not have wanted to go.
I can tell you he won't want to go because I had to go.
and I did not want to go.
Is it the worst thing?
No, but he's playing a bunch of games.
I wasn't playing.
Yeah.
If he's now.
Ask Braden Behole, he is playing.
Can you imagine sending him to the world juniors and he blows a knee out?
I can do that.
No,
I don't, yeah.
Is the injuries higher in the world juniors or confused?
No, what,
what's the bonus to be had by sending him?
He's playing a regular shift here in the NHL.
Why would you send him to the world?
Where's the out?
What are you gaining?
The whole preface.
was if he hits a wall here because a lot of times the first year players will see that.
And I'm prefacing there will be a wall at some point.
And going to the world juniors doesn't fix it.
If he's not playing.
And again, bigger picture, like you might be in a season where you're stripping back veterans.
All this talk about culture is quieted right down.
And it might not be the most, I love going to work environment in the league if you're
32nd in December.
If you're going to a turn.
where there's a gold medal at the end and you're going to do a lot of winning is the exact opposite
telling you this bullshit tell me what somebody's talks got you what have I said that's wrong somebody what
if he's playing and he's a rookie in the n hl you're telling me he needs to go to the world juniors
to up his enthusiasm for the game of hockey no i'm just saying this might not this might be a lot
and it's in december it has nothing to do with january when it's still shitty and busy in the n hl and that's
hard to play now okay i don't care if you're
goes.
I'm not adamant.
I'm picking your brain.
You literally did it.
Yeah.
And it's like,
I wonder about how fun of a place this is going to be in December.
And maybe they turn this around.
You're 19 playing in the fucking NHL.
What are you whining?
What are we talking about?
We're going to go play world juniors to increase your enjoyment of the game?
After Flames wins,
just get me to talk to Red.
I'll get him.
Because he didn't ship for you for about 15 minutes there.
Thanks.
You're welcome.
Anything we can do to get the show going.
There's back.
He was the worst guy on the panel.
Now he's in line for player of the game.
MVP of the show
Radner is John today.
No, I don't.
And I'm not adamant, but I can't check in your brain.
There is a,
there is a reason you would send a kid
to World Juniors if you had him in the lineup
and he's in and out and you had a really good team
and he needed to play in Port Minutes.
This guy, play him as the first
defenseman on this team at this point.
Who cares?
He's your Pee one.
Yeah. So I don't think,
and I don't think that
if he can't grind
grind through his rookie season in the NHL without losing his mojo?
No, you're in the NHL.
You just played the New York Rangers.
You're going to go to New York City and play at MSG.
World Juniors holds nothing on that.
Nothing.
Zero.
So if you can't maintain your enthusiasm for a season, even if you're last place.
And I'm not even talking about his enthusiasm.
You know what?
I'll say.
The monotony of an 82 game March and a loss season.
So learn how to do it because guess what, bud?
You're doing it every year for that's the rest of your life.
Well, I just mean like the 30 seconds.
If I'm the flames, I want to keep him in my incubator.
I don't want to take the key, you know, take the keys to my.
Coach of the.
To my brand new sports car and let somebody else drive it for a month.
This is, this is my, this is a big part of my franchise.
Plus, I don't know that hockey Canada's made some interesting.
moves the last couple of years, and he was involved in some of that.
So I don't know how crazy he would be to want to go back there.
If I'm the team, I'll just keep him here.
If he's hit a wall, we'll handle that ourselves.
And if you scratch him enough times, you could send him on a conditioning stand.
If it got that bad, I don't think it'll get that bad.
I don't either.
I think he's going to be playing enough.
I think he's going to.
Dale Hunter's coaching the team this year.
Dale would be a cool kind of player.
Like, again, they kind of, last year they looked in the mirror, and it was two years
in a row where they kind of oversteered and thought.
thought, we're going to outthink everyone.
Look at us how smart we are, and it blew up in their faces twice.
It's a major turning of the page.
But, hey, I mean, I think that you make really good points.
If I'm the Calgary Flames, it's not even a secondary thought.
It's a December conversation anyway, because you might not hit that wall, right?
And you've got time to consider it.
I'm kind of with you, like I said, right at the beginning of the year, like,
don't be playing this guy in the third pair.
Play him with Wiger.
Like, he's going to figure it out.
Aside from the physicals, you know, he's got a lot.
learn how to avoid hits in that. What have you thought of just his play? Like he's,
he's not in over his head at all. He just figuring out what works and what does. He's still
making mistakes, but that's part of the learning process. I think those are some of the guys that end up
going to world juniors, guys that just don't look ready for this level that hangar, they don't play.
They've been scratched a number of times. It doesn't have.
They're monitoring that, well, we can't let them get to whatever the game platform.
To be fair, if it's a better team, he might be right in that spot. He might be. Like it's
Pahal and Miramano. How many times does this happen? Two of the
play him.
What the
kids in the
NHL team
and goes in place
where the conversation
happens pretty much
I don't think it happens
but I don't know
how often
it's discussed a lot
but I don't think it happens
and I guess maybe
we don't want to dig up
the old rant of mine
but like if he was available
to go to the A
would he be here now
or would he be in the A
I think he'd be in the A
because it'd be top pair
power play and then bring him up
because of kind of like
what you're seeing with Grit
yeah
because of development purely
or just the
bodies that are here?
Development.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, honestly, if this is a, if this is an elite, like this is,
Edmontson's blue line, he's not playing.
Like, they're just too deep.
But here, it's like, yeah, can you be better than one of Pahall or Bean?
You just picked Edmonton's blue line?
It's a good blue line, yeah.
Not from what I'm here.
Deep.
There are a major consensus around the league, Ryan.
Okay.
I can pull up the decor.
I'm just saying, like, the, you've got like three guys here, like, when you
started.
Miro, Bean,
Pahal.
Again, I'm not talking about depth.
I'm just talking about death.
Family.
Of course, he can play here.
But if you had the option,
where would he be better served?
What this guy is why you're trying to run him out of town.
What the hell?
Like, it is what it is.
And if we make up what,
you don't even like the what if game.
So I don't know why you're playing it.
And this is what it is.
And he's better.
I was saying he should play with four or five two weeks ago.
And you're telling me,
you're too high on this kid.
He's just going to hurt you.
I like too much.
You're going to ruin it.
And I'm like, I'm just trying to talk about like where he's at,
what everyone thinks of what he's played so far.
There's no options.
So what we're talking about is all a hypothetical.
Should he be in?
He can't.
And this decor is what it is.
And so he's good enough to be on it.
And you can grow him right now in the NHL into a 20 minute defenseman this season,
if you so choose.
Or you can pull the reins back and say,
we're going to spot duty.
Yeah.
Just like you said, I don't want to send them to World Juniors because this is my sports card.
I don't need somebody else driving it and using it as they see.
You're not borrowing my car.
He played 30 minutes last night in a preliminary game.
It's your training.
It's your coaching.
It's your skills people.
It's your guy getting your team and your schedule and your city and then's ups and downs of the travel.
That's how I feel about it too.
That's just.
And I don't like, and the H.
that is fine if
if your team is
that good but they aren't
no so so you're going to
subject them to a season in the
HL
yeah like the grid thing they just got so many wingers
and that's going to be fine for them and you can
bring them up in the spring I imagine they'll be liquidating
a few wingers along the way I'm not against
the philosophy of letting guys
marinate there
yeah good word
yeah right
but I think he's
going to play his
player.
Let him be good.
Play the piss out of him.
I agree.
Partly why,
you know,
it just doesn't seem like
World Juniors would be a
realist.
I'm sure they'd love to have him.
Well,
they'd love to have him.
Whether or not he would want to go to them
and then.
Yeah.
The Connie Huska conversation would be,
no,
like he's not killing us.
Hopefully when you're chatting in two,
three,
seen measured improvement.
Yeah.
Awareness of time and space that's totally different than the old.
If it,
if it wasn't the physicality issue,
I don't know that we'd be saying anything negatively about it.
There's the odd time.
Some stuff that doesn't work and that's fine.
That's how you learned over last night was.
That's also part of the appeal of what he's going to be is.
Right.
They were times he followed the play up and I'm like, dude,
stay the bat.
And then he ends up on his stick.
And it's like, oh, okay.
That's why you're, yeah.
Yeah, totally.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's right.
Like good players could see things and try things differently than us dusters and throw it off the class.
And we want them to be good.
Yeah, you want the high ceiling.
I don't want them to turn into a steady defense.
Don't take the stallion and turn them into the plow me.
Let them run.
It's funny how you describe that.
Because whether we were watching the same place, like, oh, he's joining the play.
Let's say, oh, okay.
That's right where you needed to be on my place.
That's right on your day.
It's a commission, I guess.

We're going to look at things.

Oh, yeah, that's what we're seeing there.

We're going to get some blood work done.
I do want to space that out
from our return from Nashville.
I don't want trace baloney elements
too high in the blood.
True.
It's showing up like you don't have a liver.
Why is that?
I'll tell you what.
If anyone's going to help you deal with it.
That sounds true.
Yeah.
It is, though.
It's good they have them.
It's good.
We've got lawyers, doctors.
We're getting all the help we need.
We're really kind of, you know, zeroing in on what it is.
Deli.
We need here.
A couple of pubs.
All right.
Perfect.
Perfect.
I don't know if there was some confusion.
Were we given bad info regarding?
Awesome cadre in this no trade clause.
He's got a no,
he's got a full no move,
but the next year it kicks into like a 13 team.
Peky had it wrong and they never.
You know, well, Della free.
And there, he's like, you know, guys, it's actually already a 13 team.
Oh, no trade.
So the, it's not, that's how it is right now.
So what we're led to believe is we were given, you know what it was?
Erroneous.
Erroneous on all accounts.
Misinformation.
Erroneous.
Disinformation.
Miss for sure.
It was, uh, fake news is what it was, Dean.
Ah.
So he's going to trade his ass?
So what that, uh, for, for fans of the rebuild,
tank, whatever,
whatever you're going to call it.
It's potentially good news coming
to fans' way. If, in fact,
over half the league
is available as a
trade option for Craig Conroy and the
Calgary Flames. And if you believe that you don't want them
on your team. 18 teams,
yes, 13. Try to
convince them to make it against. That's right. That is
what you're looking at. The one team you can't
try them to is here. He's already here. So you have 31,
13 or no fly, or at least starting
at that position. Yeah. Maybe
there's a market he's okay with, but they were bad when he made his list.
Hey, Nas, we love you.
Yeah, I think I could win there.
But again, Nazem hadn't said the single word trade once,
and it's all people have talked about for your app.
It feels like the point.
Yeah, but he doesn't get to.
He never would.
He's not going to.
Maybe behind closed doors he is or isn't.
That's not how.
This is part how the business works.
It's not fair and this is it.
You're going to be speculated upon because of how good you are,
what your age is and how much terms left on your deal.
As long as trades are going to be.
a part of pro sport.
People are going to talk about
will or will not this player
be traded.
Potential of centrients.
And it's.
And willie?
Like you are 100% announcing to the world.
Oh, for sure you are.
Yeah.
Well, if it.
What your intentions are?
You're 32nd today.
Oh.
The team.
Yeah.
That's last.
So that's also giving the world a message as to what you are.
Another number 35.
That's old you are.
So if you want to do some winning and lifting of the cup or long playoff runs, I mean,
I don't know that you're going to play till 53 like Yager.
You're still treating it like he has a say.
And so if he doesn't, if it's already, it's 13, I don't he, we don't have to ask you nothing.
That's true.
But it would be that would be the concern of the team that would be trading for.
If they're interested in Codry, they've got to be super close to winning.
Yep.
Because 35, it's not necessarily a cliff for some guys it is.
35, you're quite old.
Diminishing returns seem to be very.
Yeah, but he's the type of player, don't you believe?
He's aged well.
He has aged well, and there are certain sentiment that are smart enough to go, okay, what's he
make, seven and a half for the rest of time?
Seven even for the next three years.
And so are you telling me at seven and a half with the cap going up that even if he is
your third line shutdown centerman, that this is.
I don't know that he can play that role, but I think still upgrade on a lot of team's
second line center.
Like you want to start a scoring line.
Why can't he play that role?
Well, it's defensive metrics.
They're not good.
But he's a really good offensive player.
Like 30 plus goals, creates offense, one-on-one skills.
He's his defensive metrics.
So it means he can't.
Well, I mean, look, is he a menacing face-off winning physical, defensive guy?
No.
That doesn't mean he's not a great player.
I think he is.
You ever watched a guy get older and play a different style?
Yeah.
Okay.
Throw that out.
He'd be a guy that could.
Okay.
That was kind of important.
I was that he has the, anyway.
And even if I was the one that said we should trade him.
And you guys all told me I was an idiot.
He couldn't do it.
He couldn't do it.
Well, now he can.
So trade him.
He hasn't been traded yet.
Two things have happened, too, to be fair.
Like, A, the cap skyrocketed.
And B, he's aged way better than you could have imagined.
He had his career year last year at age 34.
I didn't see anyone predicting that.
And three years of past since that.
Yeah.
And so there's less term left on the deal.
But you're right.
I did not think this was a movable item.
This was an immovable object when he was playing under Daryl,
and it was clear they weren't on the same page.
And frankly, he looked worse than he does today.
What are you good?
Because I've already talked to him today.
But what are you guys are probably going to have to talk to Murray about eating some salary?
Gets you more.
Yeah.
He's not going to do it.
No.
What if you talk to him?
You know, sweet in the pot.
I don't know.
I mean, if you want to Joel Farabee, that's when you probably.
You realize that guy has a lot of companies.
He's got a lot of work to do.
We can't be bothering him on a day, like,
We already bugged them today.
It's not anything overly pressing.
But I think that that was something.
It's,
oh,
so it's,
it changes how we and I think fans that really follow the team close.
If they're going to be sellers,
that changes things.
Whereas it seemed like Rasmus Anderson,
that's likely because he's in the last year and he has no trade,
no trade protection.
He's free to be dealt wherever they want to.
I think 13 teams is a nice little pocket for Nazim,
but that's a lot of,
and who knows what teams those are.
Right. It's his list. He's picked.
And the list might have been made years ago.
It would have been made when he signed the contract.
Well, they can update it every year, but sometimes they often don't or they forget to.
I know that's how we got in the big chaotic thing with the player that ended up in Dado, Dadov.
Dadanoff. Yeah, Daddanov.
But look, like, if you're Nassim and the team is like, look, we're thinking about doing this.
You don't have full protection. And Nassim starts thinking about it.
If it's a competitive team and you've got a chance to win a cup, like, I don't know this can be tough.
Like, no, no, no, I really want to stay here and see through this rebuild.
Oh, that's like a huge threat that the flames are facing, right?
You don't have to ask you.
I don't have to talk to that.
Yeah, the only we're talking about is if the best offers.
I know, you're worried.
Yes, but I'm not saying that's going to happen.
That's quite a leap into, it's probably Buffalo, Winnipeg, Edmonton,
Edmonton, Columbus, Columbus.
Maybe Carolina, some guys don't like it there.
Right?
Like, if you went through.
it.
And again, when did you make the list?
Who knows?
It might be a rusty old list.
It might be current and fresh as of this summer.
Yeah, I guess it's what teams not so much and where does he not want to go?
It's who's going to be a trade partner?
Who's looking for that type of player?
I think you could probably put together 15 to 20 teams.
So what's the price?
So what's the return, as you said, probably unlikely that there's going to be any salary retained by the time?
It's a $7 million ad.
You trade money out potentially in a deal, but...
Take some money back in.
I look at Montreal as a fit that makes a ton of sense,
and it's like, okay, it's the last year of Line A,
are they done with that project?
You could probably take that off to make room.
You don't need to eat money if you take some back in a sense,
and then you're not using one of your retention slots
for the next three years.
That's the type of thing that would make sense for the Calgary Flames.
Toronto, he'd make a ton of sense.
You know, they could use a little more offense after Marner leaves.
You know, you've got, Tava's having a really nice start to the year,
but another center wouldn't be the worst.
There's a lot of teams where it's like, yeah,
he's better than their second line center.
And he just scored 34?
34.
What did he scored last year?
34, 35?
He still looks to me.
It sounds like a guy in Calgary.
He still looks to me like a guy that's going to help a lot of teams.
He's got jamming his game.
I think he's been controversial in the past.
This is a mature guy now.
He's won a Stanley Cup in Colorado.
He was very good for the avalanche when they won.
You wouldn't be considering training because he's doing what he's supposed to do here,
except you don't know what direction of teams going in,
you're worried about asset management.
So the Leafs added Scott Lotton last year,
who is a veteran center that is not as good as Nazim Kadri,
and I believe they parted with a prospect and a first
and got like a sixth and a seventh back.
That would be like one of the highest value.
He's playing fourth line center for them
pretty much has since he arrived in town.
This is a much better player than that.
So if you want to dream on a high return,
if you get the bidding more you want,
I don't think it's crazy to think you're going to get a first plus other assets here.
Lindholm-esque.
Lindholm was a straight rental, but again, younger and the term wasn't confusing.
So I don't know.
Like, I really don't know.
I think at the end of the day, the secret saucing getting a huge haul for a return is just how many teams are bidding.
Like if there's two teams that really want them, add another, add another.
It's not a second.
It's a first.
The second picks another third.
It's a second.
Throw in a B prospect.
Well, now it's an A prospect.
That is the formula to get a huge return is having multiple suitors that really want a guy.
So I don't know what the rest of the center market's going to look like for rental.
and or trade market.
But that plays a role.
How many buyers?
How many centers are out there?
Like that's the thing for us.
We can look at and say,
well,
now there's only three years left at $7 million.
But for other teams,
there's three years left.
This is not a rental.
This is not,
we're not paying through the nose.
And if you're Marie in the flames,
it's like,
yeah, we're not keen on eating money
is the philosophy they've had.
They've rarely done it.
But it's like, well,
if we retain,
here's the cost to do it.
I need X.
and then I'm willing to do it.
But it is a little dangerous with three years left
because that's retention for 26, 27, 27, 27, 28, 28, 29.
It would have to be a spectacular return
that you feel like you wouldn't be getting close to
if you didn't eat.
Yeah, like if someone said two firsts and a prospect,
I'm like, okay, we've got to do this.
And again, I don't think that's reasonable,
but I don't think a first round for Scott Lawton's reasonable either
and it happened last year.
A second round for Brian Dumlin happened last year.
So what is the market like?
We don't know.
We'll see when these standing settle out a bit.
You know, like if Nashville's horrible as Ryan O'Reilly on the market,
that would hurt the Calgary flames.
So I was trying to remember who it was talking, that Stamcoast.
They're like, well, we're going to see what happens here with this team.
Oh, for sure.
And we'll meet around Christmas and decide what we're going to be doing moving forward.
Stammer said that.
Well, just that that was kind of the report that this is the belief between team and player there.
Sure.
And that makes sense at that point of his career.
If it's not going to be winning,
get some assets while you can't.
He doesn't want the end of his career
to be on a rebuilding team.
Some guys end up having to,
or they do, they just.
I've won a cop, I've made my money.
I've got kids, I've got family.
I'm not uprooting to go chase.
There's no guarantee you can chase anyway,
all that sort of thing.
Everyone's different.
He just uprooted and thought he was going to a contender.
It hasn't happened.
That's the difference.
Like, if it was going to be bad in Tampa,
I think he could live with it.
But it's like,
He didn't even have any success there, potentially.
If, if, if it doesn't get better from Friedman, could you not see a situation where
it is beneficial to both team and player to explore a trade?
That makes sense.
Yeah.
I would think John the Marshall showed be a similar conversation, pretty shape, potentially.
All of the three big pre-agent signings from yester summer.
What are there, I mean, I'm putting it, put on the spot, the contract length or what's left in
terms of those.
I think it was six years for Shea and what five year deals for Marshalo and Stamco's,
could be wrong.
So you got three after this, I'm guessing.
It's tough to leave Nashville.
I find it hard all the time.
So hungover, you're going to miss the bus.
Hate leaving.
Ryan O'Reilly's got one one year left there.
Stamcoastas has two more after this at eight million.
So that's a four year deal that he's on.
Marshal three at five point five year deal.
And then Shay B six, I think.
Brady.
Yeah, he's got some time left, seven million there.
Yeah.
Anyway.
Blake Coleman's got five goals.
Got two years left on his three.
He can really help the team.
I very much believe that to be true that this is the type of player.
Cup winning pedigree, checking winger,
put him in that magical third line role where he went to Cups in Tampa with the Annie Gordon,
Barclay Goodrow.
This guy can help you.
He's been really good lately.
Because like you just said, like,
what happens
one of these other teams
start to bow out
and now you're like
well we need two teams
bidding on these guys
well now there's more teams
you're being
yeah if you think you're going to hit
a home run
and it's like when you go to the food court
you're like that looks pretty good
there's a dumpling place
just down there I might go
hot chicken
I like hot chicken
don't get me wrong
I mean I love that
but you'll take a look
I don't I don't sort of sit around
Coleman thinking about a monster return.
No, it's just interesting.
I'm talking about it in general.
If you could get a B prospect in a second round or yeah.
I'm not giving you two firsts when I can get O'Reilly for a second.
Like I'm being.
Yeah.
I see what you're saying.
And again, to what I just said, like if Ryan O'Reilly is available,
that does not help the flames moving Nazan Khadry.
Last year, I believe it was Trots and O'Reilly saying, no, like,
we're not doing this.
I want to be part of this thing getting better.
year. And so we'll see if that happens this year in Nashville.
Hearingloss.com.
That's the website.
It's not Rhodesy.
Really?
I mean, so good at what they do, obviously they're the best.
Looks like they treat their staff like gold.
They're on some kind of a retreat.
It's on their social media.
Jack wins our retreat.
Friday.
Very different than that.
It's a little different than theirs.
Yeah.
So they won't be soaked in booze?
Great employer, great clinic.
the best that there is locally owned and operated and here to help.
It's not about hearing loss or impairment,
about empowering everyone to be more socially active,

It's not just, you know, as you get older.
Yeah, it can happen.
But kids can suffer sometimes most because they don't really understand
what the issues can be.
Health risks like dementia, depression,
others have been linked to untreated hearing loss, custom ear protection, in ear molds.

Hearingloss.ca.
As you know, I've gone to the.
clinic and I am a I am a I am a believer I am on team hearing loss hearing loss clinic um and I was
out this weekend maybe ordinarily maybe I would be I would be sitting at home and I wouldn't be
social but thanks to the hearing loss clinic I'm out and about I'm being social and having a heck
of a good time you're on team my life's improved since visiting correct hearing loss clinic yeah we had a
progressive dinner oh are you familiar with these things a little
one stop.
In the neighborhood, you know, he's, okay, so we're going to go here for appetizers.
And then you go down to their house, they've made salads.
You go to their house and they've got whatever.
And then there dig out the dessert.
So we were salads.
Team salad.
Yeah, you can't be friends with bean salad.
And it had a, um, it was October fest kind of a theme.
Every year they kind of come up with something different.
and I sent a Jack a photo of,
um,
now I didn't pick the outfit,
but what,
what do they call this?
Like the leaderhosen?
Yeah.
So some had the leaderhosen and,
um,
you'd look great.
You up to,
huh?
This is not you.
Oh,
it's not me.
No,
I was signed up.
It was,
but I'm just telling you.
I,
uh,
you know,
these are the types of things that I do now that I'm socially acting.
Now,
when you go to these houses,
the garage door is always up,
what a foot off the ground or what's the story?
Yeah.
So,
I mean,
look,
look,
happy I am.
Really getting with it.
Getting in the spirit.
Oh, my God.
I did not expect that.
So that was at our,
we were having salads on your new salads and drinks on the new,
yeah, that's right.
Wow.
I don't think that's leaderhosen though.
Is that, is that?
I'm going to do more research.
Got my spray tan going.
It's usually good, eh?
Yeah. And I don't mind telling you,
people were checking out the goods
I don't mind telling you
we're in Nashville on Halloween on Friday
you can put that in your suitcase
okay you got it
don't know no no
no Dean bring that in your suitcase
I don't have anything like that
they couldn't resist touching them
I was very offended
Muslims
please
start charger
I'm not a piece of meat
here for your
random fondling please
so yeah thanks to hearing loss clinic
yeah that's what your face looks like when you're not in the studio
yeah it looks different god that I don't know that looks like Dean
but happy that was a salad
mid
yeah it was lettuce and carrots and cucumbers
you know it would be like when you come to my place for
charcutory it's like garlic sausage and block of cheese and some pickles
pretty standard really pretty standard stuff
This one,
Boomer's head needs to be bigger.
It's the first time that's ever been said.
That has never been.
Thank you, Eric.
Appreciate that.
That's never been brought up before.
We can do the Pinder Report.
Maybe if you think it's time for,
it's time for the Pinder Report brought to by Village Honda
where the 2025 demo clearout is on.
Take advantage of special demo discount pricing,
but supplies limited, low kilometers,
big savings to be had on the pilot touring.
edition, the Accord hybrid touring sedan, the Ridgeline Trail Sport, and the CRV hybrid sport,
not to mention the Civic Sport and Hybrid.
Hardly used.
Big deals.
Sounds like a win.
Check them out, villagehontadcom in the northwest auto mall as well.
We'll start with Calgary Flames.
We head to Flames Nation.
See what the Pikes are writing about.
God, you got mad at Pike for creating so much content the other day.
It was so.
Instant reaction.
Why do you hate Ryan Pike?
Wow.
Why do you hate the hog?
All the attention of that guy.
Well, you just wait.
He's on his way to Toronto.
He's covering Leafs and Sins live from Ontario.
Wow.
And we'll be covering Nashville, so we'll have that covered.
Yeah.
Jack, are you covering Philly on the way home?
Nope, not me.
Okay.
That's gold.
A was enough.
Flame snap losing Skid with winner of Rangers.
They sure did.
They looked good.
They got some saves.
They scored more than three goals without guests from Stuart Skinner.
That hasn't happened all year.
I guess Friday, it probably did three against one pick.
But point being, it was a feel good night at the dome for a team that has needed some good feels after a miserable start to the season with one win in their first nine games and zero in regulation.
They now have their first regulation win.
The Rangers Unies still look great.
The team in that was wearing them didn't particularly look that great, but still.
So classic, it's always kind of neat having those Udi's skating around the dome.
No, sound up because old friend was in the building and let's hear what the fans were champ.
It's the one hat trick for Colman.
not expecting
to Sterkin to leave the net, but
that is a
flocks you suck chant.
Oh, I wasn't sure what it was.
Give Calgary fans credit.
There's many markets that would have forgotten by now.
But yes, indeed, he was drafted the same year as what,
Matthew Kuch and Dylan Dubay,
did not sign with the Calgary Flames
after reporting them multiple prospect
and development in development and development
in Delman Campson saying he was absolutely planning on signing in Calgary.
And then, of course,
has moved to Carolina for a hot minute
before they sent him to his favorite team growing up,
the New York Rangers, and he's been booed ever since.
And now even Foxy's suck chance.
Yeah.
Memories like elephants, Calgary fans.
You can only do that if you're up 5'1.
That's fair.
No.
Rangers, you can do it.
It's just less effective.
Not sure how hard he's hit by it anyway,
but if they're up 5-1 and you're telling him F you.
I don't know that he's forgotten,
but the flames are always remade.
reminding him as one visit a year that you bleeped us, son, you bleeped us.
Yeah.
Keep moving.
A schedule coming up.
Season long four game roadie.
There's the Ontario portion.
Toronto tomorrow.
Note the start time.
Four Mountain.
Woo!
Got a post game show at like 7 p.m.
Is that baseball related?
I believe that is baseball related.
Yes.
And then Thursday, we have a 5 o'clock start in Canadi.
before they get that downtown rink built.
I've got another four or five years of that.
Then you see the American portion of the four-game roadie.
Nashville will be there.
Dean will be rinkside trying not to poop his suit,
like the old Red Deer Arena.
That's right, Roger.
Thanks.
Big Gay today for the Predators and the Flames.
Back to back, we'll close the road trip as they play Sunday evening in Philly.
That's likely a Dan Vladar revenge match.
That's your four-game road trip.
truck. There it is.
What do you think, Brett?
Couple good towns, couple.
So Ottawa's meh until they get downtown.
Philly's meh.
Really, Philly's Mare.
Oh, yeah.
Okay. I've never been.
Don't have the vibes around Philly.
Clearly Nashville and Toronto, big markets, lots to do.
Different reasons for each.
Toronto can take a hike.
Yeah.
Just because it's Toronto.
Yeah, that's true.
Keep moving.
Let's go to the NHL.
we'll look at the standings. We are now, what,
one eighth of the way through the season or about.
New Jersey's in first place.
New Jersey? One regulation loss.
No setbacks in overtime.
Colorado's only got one regulation loss.
They've not been as lucky in overtime.
Other teams with one loss, Vegas,
and that's the end of the list.
That is your top 10 in the NHL. Some surprises in there to be sure.
Pittsburgh 5.
What? Dan the man, what are you doing?
Jack?
It's great, but the other team's got me all down and out,
so I don't even care.
Oh, boy.
How about Utah?
Are we worried about Utah?
How about the Utah?
Utahs are good.
Cooley's been phenomenal.
Femilke looks like a stud in that.
Who's the Gigi Paterka they bring in?
Nick Schmaltz is tied with Eichel for the league leading points.
Schmaltzy.
Needs a deal.
Good time to have a season like this.
There it is.
Habs, nice upstart story.
Young team getting better.
the league, Dino, fourth in the standings.
Why are you telling me?
I told you how old the team was last year.
Youngest team in the league, Dino.
Thank you.
It's impressive, no? Sure.
All right. Maybe it's not.
Why it's specific to me, I'm not sure, but you're the host of the show.
Okay.
Back to me, Dean.
Carolina is in Vegas as we expected to be good.
They are. Ditto, Winnipeg. Perhaps Washington.
They won the East last year in the regular season in Detroit.
Off to a good start.
Huh.
Biggest surprising there got to be Pittsburgh.
else.
I have Utah probably as the biggest surprise to me.
The Devils have won eight in a row.
Ooh.
8.1. 5 and 0 at home.
Jack Hughes has eight.
He got the OT winner yesterday.
He looks good.
They are cruising.
And you have the Utah's.
They didn't get up to a great set out.
They're on two, I think.
They're flying.
Don't feel bad about losing to the Utah's, I guess.
Bottom 10 of the league.
Go to the bottom third.
Less feel-good stories, more, how nervous should we be?
Senators have done it without Brady Kachuk.
Leaves have been very flat.
Columbus had the miracle year last year.
They're sitting at 500.
Tampa was at one win last time we checked in.
They had a better weekend.
Boston, they lost six in a row before they're getting a win on the weekend.
Rangers have looked bad at home and now even bad on the road after yesterday,
I'm comfortable saying.
Minnesota, rough start.
St. Louis, only a win back of 500, but that's how the stand.
winnings look with fake 500 in this league.
And then there's the sharks and flames with two wins each.
The sharks have a game in hand and one more point than the flames are sitting last.
Yeah, Rangers Boston last in the east.
The wild, that's got to be not going well.
I think I read this morning that Bill Guerin had a captain's meeting.
Ooh, early for that.
Yeah, captains meeting.
10 games in.
They played five of their first eight on the road, have come home and have,
dropped back-to-back games against Utah and San Jose.
Oh, San Jose, out.
One, four, and two in their last seven.
Celebrini, another overtime winner.
That was the, uh, you did it on Broadway the other night and now in Minnesota.
That was the, yeah.
Holy.
Celebrini's all right.
You're going to be good.
You can go to the Olympics.
I'm okay with that.
Let's go, son.
Go to Italy.
You like the food.
Celebrini.
15 points in nine games.
78 points in 79 career games.
All right.
He turns 20.
in June.
He's not even close.
Right?
He's puppy.
Point per game for the career.
Quite a,
that's what you want at first overall.
Yeah, yeah.
It's a real difference maker.
Those are the guys you get at number one too.
Yeah.
Can tell you about another number one in a moment.
But first,
well, here's another number one.
We've got three items in a row number one.
Unreal.
Nate Dog, intense.
Don't believe me.
Watch this as Nathan McKinnon gets into it with Charlie McAvoy.
This is Canada, the USA,
at the poor nations.
Grown in the corner, the tempers are going to flare.
The kid has thrown right hands with Maca boy.
This fight looks like it's over, but for Nate, it is not over.
He's still going.
Yeah, Nate's hardwired.
Nate is intense.
I always thought he was like a focused guy, but I'm starting to think he might be a bit of a red ass too.
Yeah, well, you know what I think it is?
He sees red.
I don't even know if he knows what's happening right now.
No.
Sorry for Charlie McAvoy there.
I probably had a comment.
Probably.
See you at the Olympics, bud.
We'll keep going.
Another first overall pick.
It's been an incredible start of the season for Matthew Schaefer.
Great article up at Daily Faceoff.
Friend of the show, Steve Dallas.
Pete always hates it when I do that.
Always.
I don't.
Brett brings it up for front of the show.
We ever had them on the show?
Yes, we have.
We've had them on multiple.
off shows and we had them on the show in Vegas when we were live ahead of the
2026.
You guys were there.
You passed.
Yeah.
Anyway, good article on Schaefer.
He looks electric.
You're not supposed to be able to do this at 18 years of age.
Ah, you're like first overall.
Jeez.
Kind of players, you get a first overall.
He'll look into that.
Watch the net.
Watch the net.
Like his own or the other net?
This.
Don't you remember him running right into the net?
World Juniors last year.
Oh, that is. Okay, sorry.
I thought you were referencing something on the weekend.
Ouch.
Anyway.
And he's done for the tournament.
He was going back for the puck.
Puck was behind the net and he rained.
Like, grilled the net.
Tenacious.
So wound up and excited.
You love it.
Sheesh.
Game three of the World Series is tonight.
A scene switch to Los Angeles.
An insane and certified psychopath human.
Max Scherzer will take the ball off of the Blue Jays.
Scherzer, define father time.
When I take the match, I have the attitude.
I'm going to win no matter what.
This is what you play for.
You got to bring it.
He lives for this.
You have to respect that and you have to appreciate that.
This is literally why he's playing still.
It's the pitch in the post season.
Max Scherzer has dialed back the hands of time tonight.
He is shredding.
Swaking him in his strike three.
41-year-old future of all the famer.
When you sign a guy like Max, these are the moments you do it for.
Scherzer will throw it tonight.
It went very well against Seattle his last outing.
There's not a guarantee that it would go well tonight
against the Otanis, the Freemans,
the Besses of the world.
But I kind of like the theater
of the psychopath on the mound tonight.
Kind of like cursing Adam Fox.
It's good when you're up 5'1.
For Scher, it's okay to be a complete lunatic
and screaming and yelling when you're winning.
If you're getting lit up and you're,
just getting the fucking dugout, dude.
Yeah, if you put some of a four spot in the second
inning and Schneider comes out. I'm not coming out.
No, you're, you should really come out.
You've given up six hits and two and a third. You've got to come out of the game now.
Dodgers, heavy favorites of minus 200 tonight. They'll start Tyler Glass now, the former
Ray. A lot of the Js have seen him over the years. He actually, unusually
bats left and throws right. I don't see many of those around the league. He won't be batting
tonight. I know that. O'Hawnee, he will. And there are your odds for bet three, six, five.
Any vibes or feels? It's a little scary going to a 41-year-old, but it was scary in Seattle.
and he was great.
I think the Dodgers are scary,
but we can do it again.
It was, it was,
because we were doing,
you know,
I had salad at my host.
Yeah,
the games were on at the different houses.
It was,
it brought the Blue Jay
fandom down a little bit.
Everything just kind of,
your salad?
No,
I'm sure the salad was not a hit either,
but,
well,
it was one one late,
but then it wasn't.
It was,
yeah,
this guy's pretty good,
So once we get into this bullpen,
what you're going to see is.
Is he never coming out?
He's coming out for the seventh.
Oh, Jesus, he's coming off of the 8.
Yeah, he's going to finish this game, isn't he?
Still in.
Oh, my God.
He was great.
But you know what?
You weren't going to sweep.
Brian, you weren't going to sweep.
No, buddy.
I was worried about a sweep the other way.
Sweeps are rude.
That's right.
Eragent, cocky.
You don't want that.
That's not how the Blue Jays are going to do it.
Good Canadian team.
They're going to be fair and kind and gentle.
Giving.
It'll be in six or seven if they would.
Six or eight first pitch.
Mitch tonight.
Go get it.
God, I hope there's a game six.
Are you going to go?
No.
No.
Are you going to go?
No.
Have you given up?
Yes.
We go to Nashville.
That's what marriage is all about.
Yeah.
Giving up things that you really love in life.
Yeah.
It's kind of true.
Why do we keep moving, Dean?
Let's go to the magnitude of those things.
Like maybe like once in a lifetime things.
Yeah.
You just say.
Jack was.
dead the last time this is here we've gone over it.
And speaking of Jack being dead, let's take a look
at the Steelers final last night as
they had a lead, but boy, that doesn't look
close at the end, Jack, what the hell happened
to your Steelers in those incredibly
horrid and putrid uniforms?
Yeah, those uniforms are
fucking horrible.
I don't know why
I thought this year would be different.
If we had a graphics guy, the Jack a meter
would be deep underground.
Oh, no. Really?
Just painful. The defense is so
bad our billion dollar defense.
I thought it was the best of the league.
I thought I was told too.
I was told we're all in.
We got the best defense.
We got Jalen Ramsey, Darius Lay.
Can't cover shit.
I was going to tell you that it's a while ago when that Ramsey was hot.
Because they're four and three.
So that's seven games played.
Yeah.
What did you have them?
I had them at five and one.
And it was looking good.
Seven, seven games.
All right.
Five and six and one, five and two.
Yeah, somewhere in there.
So not that far off.
the four and three.
Got have more hope than this, Jack.
And then if you double that, that's eight and six.
That's probably right.
Where's usually very kind of.
What, Jack?
They've got the Colts this week.
Ooh, Colts are good.
Colts are good.
The next week.
I don't know if they're good or not.
Yeah.
You didn't have this.
The bills.
I didn't have the bills.
You didn't have this as a win anyway.
Correct.
Yeah.
So it doesn't affect anything, Jack.
Stay up.
God, he's negative.
How can you be positive?
Because it's the packers.
Tip your cap and be shocked the Colts next week.
Metcalf's okay.
The offense is fine.
I'm not,
I think Rogers has been the right spot of this team.
Better than expected, maybe.
For sure.
I don't get the defense.
They can't cover anything.
It's Canada's fault.
To Jack's points,
they're spending a lot of money on this defense.
35's a lot of points if you're.
Sure is.
Oh, 30s.
Yeah.
We love 360 yards through the error.
Flacco, love, wence.
what was the first game?
Fields.
Oh,
Flacco again.
Thank you.
I don't know.
It's just.
Let's move to tonight's game.
No your fault, Jack.
Boy, he's negative.
Yeah.
Doesn't you can't even take any joy out of this
Penguins being fifth in the league.
Good one tonight.
But we see Jaden Daniels against Patrick Mahomes?
No.
Who are we going to seek?
That guy.
It's Mariotta.
Not ideal.
and KC.
Favored by a bunch.
We had them in our picks last week.
KC.
minus 12 and a half is the line on Friday.
Chis have looked a lot better.
And certainly Rache Rice coming back
as a part of that.
Chis have looked good.
They just,
they have been.
I know people don't want them to.
They're tired of them.
Well,
I'm tired of them just getting every stinking little bounce.
To see them lose like three,
one score games in a row,
that hasn't happened over a year.
Like, okay, they're human, good.
But they're still very good.
The run game is nothing special.
Kelsey is 35 million.
And Mahomes has grabbed this team and has put him on his shoulders.
He's been dynamite.
You can stop the run too.
The defense isn't bad.
He's been a lot of money there.
Some of they lost the Jacksonville.
Yeah, this game doesn't feel like it.
Not threatening for the Jim Daniels.
Let's go to the CFL.
The stampeters wrap the regular season up in the cultural
Capitol on the weekend of 20 to 10 victory. Stampedeters, well done boys. You did your part.
Now could they get some help from the BC Lions in Saskatchewan against the Durs who already locked up a buy like three weeks ago?
No, they couldn't. So here's what's going to happen. We got some games on the weekend. It is the East semifinal. Winnipeg crosses over to play Montreal.
Stampeters will go to BC, 5.30 on Saturday for the stamps. Two o'clock start for the bombers and the alouettes.
and we deserve a tip of the cap to Diedrich Mills
who ended up finishing the CFL season as the rushing leader.
That a boy with over 1,400 yards.
Here is, he used the wrong one after all that,
everything I did.
God damn it.
There's choice hotels.
That's right.
The,
I literally just went back and edited that so you can use that one.
Winter will go to Saskatchewan between BC and Calgary.
It is the Thai cats in the evening.
East with a buy, waiting for the Winnipeg Alloette game to conclude.
Okay.
Soaps and Lions finish both with records of 11 and 7.
The Lions swept the season series.
Some would maybe say handily.
They faced him when they were in that straw.
Yeah.
Then in week 18, 38, 24.
But you know what?
That was then.
This is now.
They've snapped that skid since then.
Last year, 5, 12, and 1.
was the stampeder record.
It's an improvement team.
One and eight on the road.
This year, 11 and 7.
Playoffs,
congrats to the stamps.
Go get them, boys.
Have fun in BC.
Get it done.
We love an upset special in the playoffs.
That Nathan Rorke's due for a dud.
He's been pretty good.
He's due for a shit game here.
That's his first third of the season better
where he wasn't looking like the best quarterback in league.
Go get them, boys.
VA revenge spot here.
It's your old team.
And Jack would be there.
He was going to go to band.
McMahon, if it was a home game.
them all in on the stamps. He was even going to Vancouver
if he ate, but, oh, man.
Steelers got them down. They're going to, they'll do it. They're going to have to win without
them. I'm going to find a way to watch this game. But then Jack
will go to Regina the weekend after.
All right, Jack.
Outer-wee.
To Regina?
Love Regina. I got family there.
Experience Regina.
That's a banger.
It's got a Calvary FC. Their only playoff game of the year,
they have to do the rest on the road.
It was Sunday.
yesterday. Now, York split the season series. Not an easy matchup. Or so you'd think. Let's grab a highlight.
Three one cabs already early in the second half. There's Tobias Worshefski. He's doing it again in the playoffs.
That's the brace is second of the game. And oh, just kidding. Hey, 4-1 good guy.
I don't like it when they do that. I get scared. I know. That's a soccer thing.
Guys, don't pretend your hamstring is, don't do that.
Big smiles to the fellas as they do it in style.
That is the largest win in CPL playoff history, a margin of three.
Impressive.
There's your final.
Now, here's the thing.
Good news and I got bad news.
Good news.
They're moving on.
Bad news.
Steak and Forge.
They're going to have to go to Hamilton and do it again.
Forge and cavalry playing on the bottom.
The reason Forge is hosting that again.
They lost to Athletical Ottawa.
That was the win your way right into the final short route to the final.
So Cavs, go to Hamilton, take care of business.
Say hi to Stephen Brunt for us while you're there.
Then off to Ottawa, kick some people in the shins working for the federal government.
Bring that title right back down and make two in a row.
Can you go to this game?
Like you can't go to the World Series.
Can you go to?
I'll have to check the dates on this one.
It should be not here.
Yeah.
I'm gone for bits.
Very busy.
Lots going on. Lots going on. A lot on the cooker. A lot on the cooker. At least the kids are in school learning lots every day. That's changing, I think. Now, here's the thing. We're all hockey dads. We've been hockey dads. Jack had a hockey dad. Most people understand what happens in your hockey dad. You kind of got some goggles about your own kid a bit here or there. You try to play it down the line. But I mean, it's just, it's your kid. Even the most unbiased people are quite the same.
So we've heard of Hockey Dad.
Now here is Hockey Dad doing the play-by-play.
A current pass there, Helgison will pick it up with some speed.
He's got nobody with him, so he'll just...
Fuck!
Jesus, fucking Christ, you asshole.
That's the headset coming off is that sound you heard at the end?
Color guy should have...
Well, he should keep his head up coming across the middle there.
That's a dangerous play by the puck carrier.
I don't know what the Ridge Red Devils are ping-re, but there might not be a color guy.
Got nobody with him, so he'll just...
Fuck.
Jesus fucking Christ, you asshole.
That's a good string of shirts.
You know, I'll say this.
I mean, from the dad's point of view, you see it from a broadcasting, that's very
unprofessional.
I mean, my broadcaster first, dad's second.
That's how I always kind of, how I always kind of fall in.
It's just unfair for the viewers to have to listen to that.
I don't know Pingree or the, what was the other team?
The Red Ridge.
The Red Ridge.
Yeah, red.
Do we need contact hockey at certain?
I know one person that wasn't expecting contact hockey.
That was the broadcaster's son carrying the puck as you,
if you freeze frame it,
he is looking right down at his tape as he gets der rilled.
Was it incidental?
Cutting through the middle.
It's not incidental.
That's what ping rail duty.
I have wondered on a on occasion if we could just,
do they need to hit each other?
Because in Buffalo,
they had the school league and there was non-contact.
and it was wonderful.
They were having fun, and they shouldn't have been in it.
See, I feel like we're getting older and softer because I do agree with you.
If you're playing competitive, but I don't know where this kid's thinking he's going to end up going.
I mean, they've got a broadcast going.
It's got to be high end.
Right?
Well, they're down four.
Someone's down four or two here in the second period.
And is at the end of the world if that play doesn't happen?
Like, you are getting soft.
Well, back when I was growing up, you keep your head up.
I am getting soft.
These kids these days, they don't expect to get it.
Kids, oof, I know,
Mush could be.
Not an idea.
Lifelong implications because he likes a sport.
Anyway, tip of the cap to the very professional dad broadcaster.
Yeah, he's got to clean about.
I understand that.
I like it.
That's hard of them.
So that is JFCA.
It was a serious run there.
You're not, John Abbott's not doing that.
That's correct.
You're not going to hear Willsy doing that.
We had Rick Bollier for ages.
I never knew that once.
You know what?
Jack Michaels might.
Jack Michaels?
Cam Moon, definitely.
100%.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Not here at all.
What's the Jack Michaels final minute of the game?
Catchphrase.
Pulcating action!
Love him.
Shout out to Jack.
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid was named the winner of the Naccati Dean,
the North American car of the year for a record setting fourth time.
That's more Nakadi honors than any other nameplate in the 30-year history of the war.
The Civic refreshed for 25.
And again, their demo clearouts on.
You can snag a deal on the Civic.
Billichonda.com and the Northwest Auto Mall for all your automotive needs for life.
Billichonda.
There you go.
There you have it.
Wrap our picks tomorrow.
Yeah, we got so of money.
at action tonight. Who's, who's got one tonight?
Chiefs. Chiefs. What are
minus 12 and a half? Does that move?
I will check right now. Not to put everybody on the
spot, but
it's a lot of points, but
still feels achievable.
And you know what? It was a lot of points of the bills yesterday.
That was very achievable as well.
That was our show ride. That was our guaranteed
pick. We got one right. I don't know that we've ever
done that before. You never mentioned any of them. Did we
mentioned football? No, no. We're waiting for all the picks
to be done. How about the Falcons?
Scataboo's broken leg. Oh, a
year. Yeah, there's a lot of things. Yeah, there was a lot happening.
I mean, we could have another 20 minutes of the Pind report, but I figured maybe you don't need that.
Do you not? Yeah, you're usually concerned about that. That's correct.
About how much time? 10 and a half, the line has moved. 10, 10 and a half. So we're laying next to two, really?
How about that? Surprising money coming in on the commanders. Lamar not playing. And then still crushing.
Yeah, it's new punley. I almost text checked. So I want to pull my pick.
I felt pretty good about it. I was pretty sure they'd want to.
Atlanta was going to make the dolphins in that coach that wants to get fired look bad,
but apparently they showed up to work yesterday.
That's, you know what?
It's why you almost feel like it's rigged.
The script.
The dolphins look terrible.
Awful.
Can barely put a team out there that don't know what helmets they're wearing.
Their shoes are on the wrong goddamn feet.
3410 beat the foul.
What?
Yeah, that's about right.
Basketball, make.
Coaches and press conferences sound like he's trying to get fired once a page leave.
Texans, no Nico.
Collins, they look like shit.
The Niners, they just rise up and beat everybody.
Texans, 26.50.
Yeah, sure.
Bears four in a row, Ravens, they got no quarterback.
Who's Snoop Huntley?
Who the fuck is this guy?
30 to 16.
Ravens, how worried are you, Jack?
Because they're coming off by.
They're getting healthier.
The New York Jets.
I put the Cincinnati.
I picked the Cincinnati.
I had, my defense wasn't playing.
Yeah, yeah.
So I actually pick only because it's the J.E.
T-E, right.
Poor decision.
They had a very healthy lead in that game, too.
What was it, 15 points in the fourth quarter for the jets?
They were up handily and comfortably.
Breece Hall throws for a touchdown and runs in two more.
They got a two-point conversion down the stretch.
It was impressive.
39-38 jets.
That might be the biggest takeaway from a Steelers.
I don't know if I trust the NFL.
I don't trust them.
Do you guys see the Fields post game?
I saw bits of it.
He was very open talking about how tough.
He was rather melancholy.
He was.
He said he was, what, lying.
His closet.
Crying.
Weeping.
My lot to like him, but still say that he kind of sucks.
Yeah.
Lying on the floor is.
Just how the pressure and just being in New York as an athlete and being crushed everywhere.
About how even the owner.
I saw a guy lying down on the sidewalk at the bus stop.
During Stampede?
Maybe it was Fields.
Was it, yeah, was it Fields?
No, Woody Johnson kind of said his quarterback's not very good.
That hurts when your owner does that to you.
The ballroom take down there.
It's not good.
Or you could just play better.
What did I?
So Jonathan Taylor again yesterday.
God, he's good.
Two touchdowns on the ground, one receiving.
Monster run, too.
What do you have an 80 yarder?
Yeah.
Sequin last year.
Sequo got hurt?
Yeah.
It doesn't sound major, but it's a hamster.
Yeah.
uh,
Sequin had 15 touchdowns last year.
And it was the amazing year.
Yeah.
Taylor has 14 touchdowns in week eight.
Whoa.
Well,
and you know what with Philly,
it was the first few weeks.
It was like,
God,
like Sequins have a crazy year.
If they weren't using Hertz at the goal line,
you'd have more.
Yeah.
That's not an issue with Indianapolis Jones.
Taylor's the MVP right now.
Oh,
seven and one.
Drake May's getting some buzz too.
He's been good, but,
Yeah.
More of a surprise than just dominance because I think Taylor's been dominant.
Taylor's been unbelievable.
Good luck stopping him.
No, the Steelers got him.
Do they?
And the Buffalo Bills.
You know what?
Because I got Alan in one of my leagues where he's really not done a whole lot for me.
1219, 163 yards, one touchdown, 40 to 9.
Jeez.
Pinder had friggin' cook going against me yesterday.
I was good.
Also, I had a Cleveland defense, got about a million sacks, even though they lost.
I was listening driving home from Cochran yesterday.
Had a big ring-et match, big bring-out match on Cochran yesterday.
And listening to the play-by-play guy or it was Scott Hanson on the Red Zone was, we're in the second quarter.
And James Cook has already put up the second best numbers of his entire career.
And we're in the first half.
And it's me too
Pantas were supposed to
Really improved over the last couple weeks
Yeah
Not with Andy Dalton
He did not want to play football yesterday
Old dinky Dalton
Red Rocket
Yeah
How about them bills Jack
How about them?
Let's go to a show ride
Yeah, how about a gay?
Wasn't wrecking a buy his pizza or something
If the bills want
No, the hats
We're going to get the hats
I can't find a hat.
What?
You can't get them.
I've looked.
I had boots on the street.
I had people looking.
I had AI generate.
Did you have boots on the internet?
Can't be found.
Did you have boots on your phone?
Did you have boots on your phone?
A lot of effort and energy was put into hats.
Okay.
Really?
I trust you.
They were a kind of trust.
Probably should.
Short time frame.
What are they?
Yeah, like a special.
Yeah.
Yeah, one off.
Damn it, we needed those.
Those are unreal.
Yeah.
You don't know what we're talking about.
I'll never give up on it.
Do you find it, Jack?
I'm pretty much, where did you find it?
I don't know where.
I just, when I saw it, I screenshot it and sent it to you.
But it was like the Buffalo,
the logo, the head, so you can look at Red's shirt.
So the head, but over in this part here,
is actually like the, the end of a chicken wing, a drum, the drummy.
It was a big drum and they had the Bill's logo right here.
It was like literally a bright orange,
Hot wind.
Beautiful.
Color was great.
It's not just for us.
We're doing a piss and poor job.
That's not.
And I don't want someone else.
And they're going to get all hot and bothered for it and go.
Boots on the internet looking for it.
Can't have that.
Vina Nova.
Calgary's lab grown diamonds specialists, the Vena Nova showroom,
the largest selection of lad grown diamonds in Canada.
The whole country.
The whole country.
Right here.
Earrings, engagement rings, necklaces, bracelets.
The woman that I live with, she got a brace.
that she loves it.
I told you last week.
Compliments out the yinger.
A lab-grown dime.
So what do you talk?
Okay, so it's a jewelry store.
I don't know.
Lab-grown.
It's where it makes it all different.
Anywhere from 50 to 70% less expensive than Earth-Mind made with the technology that continues
to improve.
It's more efficient, thus more affordable.
Same chemical composition, crystal structure, same hardness and light refraction.
In some cases, more pristine and perfect than even that stuff you're digging out of the ground.
they're in the lab they're controlling all the environments they're making them great what do you feel like spending money on something is somebody's a favor of digging out of the dig it out of the dirt or something that's made in a lab with people like professionals fancy coats it's less than two months i don't dear do it now you don't have to walk of course there's lots of parking it's a little bit more parking lots get a little colder market mall feed anova and poor sannie claus he took it right in the jibs last month when you were like
Like, it's three months out, not, you called Santa.
You ever called him?
Yeah.
Reality.
Fat prick.
You call him a fat prick and told him to lose some weight tubby, I think.
I don't recall.
He mentioned some semi-glutides or something like that.
Yeah.
He was on a heater.
He was on a heater.
Oh, those were the days.
No recollection.
What else?
Did you have something else there, Jack?
I see stuff in the old, uh, something you want to talk about.
Oh, no, I just grab the hat.
Yeah, sure's the hat.
I'm scrolling looking for it on the site, but I don't see it.
Can't find it.
Don't waste your time.
I already told you.
There's a man.
Jeez.
Back in stock.
Liars.
Yeah, when's that from?
October 7th.
New Era Buffalo.
That's where it is.
Delaware Avenue and Buffalo.
Oh, yeah.
Boots on the ground.
Is Nashville near Buffalo?
No.
Do like a road trip.
A fly by for hats.
We drove to Louisville.
It's further than that.
Yeah.
And what's the,
uh,
is the parliable?
for the Vett 365 today?
That's for Ryan.
I like it.
I like it.
So there you go.
That's the hats we're talking about that we need.
I'm sure everyone's very concerned about our hat purchases.
Dude, those are so unbelievable.
Or hat pursuits.
So good.
You have to.
Do we know why it's kind of teely on the side, the regular logo?
I think it might be reflective.
Is it?
It's just where the light is.
Ah.
Like a hologram, Dean.
I like it even more now.
Like some of those Chauncy Bill of poker glasses.
Right.
Those work good.
They looked like they worked really well.
Yeah.
We've got to get some.
Not for guys playing against him, but
Chauncey.
I was wearing the glasses.
I think that would help a lot.
That changes the whole.
Clean it up,
Jonsie.
There's some trouble brewing.
Yeah, there's some,
trouble.
Yep.
Oh,
careful boys.
Well, makes you kind of feel like
the stuff you got going on in your life,
relatively minor in comparison, right?
Relatively speaking.
And it does, you know, when we tell you,
you know, Beth 365, like,
please play responsibly.
Yeah.
That's part of it too.
That is part of it.
Bet 365, the official gaming partner of Barnburner and Flames Nation, game props, player props, totals, the money line.
Whatever your bet is, it's never ordinary at Bet 365.
Congratulations, Bet 365.
Boomer versus 365 yesterday.
They got you?
Yeah.
Bet 3651, boomer zero yesterday, but that's fine because today's another day.
Not a ton of action in the NHL tonight, a couple games.
we're going to focus in on Jack's Penguino and the saint.
Olus, plus.
Kyra, two and a half shots over.
Gennie, one and a half shots over.
Rusty, two and a half shots over.
It's parlay.
It's a big number, plus four ten.
We're going big game hunting.
A couple other ones I did not send a Jack,
but I want to send your way ahead of game three
between the Blue Jays and the Dodgers.
Bo Bouchet, two total bases.
He looked really good in game one, plus 145.
Max Scherzer's line for strikeouts,
three and a half.
he's hit the over four of his last five starts.
Three and a half is very low for Max.
Would seem like they're kind of wondering if he's going to get out early.
A short night.
It's certainly cooked in that this might not be a complete game Yamamoto.
But if it is, you got to feel good about that number.
Forrest not an obscene number to hit.
Now it is minus 160, which is, you know, not a huge number,
but he's cleared it four or five.
there you are download the app get in on the game whatever your bet is it's never ordinary at bet 365 must be 19 or older we'll do the uh we'll do the
you laugh not super chat proceeds going to the use centers of calgary great spot and it's on it's it's all you guys out there all the watchers we take the donations get them to the use centers of calgary and then put your uh your stuff on the thing hey hey the working man working man like me
Old Sully's got a tough go-gum.
Watching Sullivan scream at Zabana Jad on that flame short-handed goal was he hilarious.
He is cooked as a player.
Nice to see Flames score a few.
I think Sullivan was upset at the slash that didn't get called.
And then the flames came back the other way and scored.
And so he's thinking, I should have a five on three.
And it's what, three to one at that point.
If I can get one on the five on three, we're back into the game.
And instead it's a shorty 401 curtain.
It's like that's what he was furious.
There was some stick work there before the flub.
They got to the goal.
but either way, he was red hot.
Good emotion.
He's a red ass.
He is a fiery fellow.
He misses Pittsburgh.
Yeah.
So he's going to.
Dan Muses is making him look bad there too.
That's right.
I mean,
they called me.
I told you guys.
He was washed.
Dan the man.
Dan the man is doing this up there.
Jack had it first.
Sullivan's washed.
Job, Jack.
That a boy, Jack.
Good work.
Good work by you.
Handsome Dan's vacation rentals.
HDVR.
80.
dollars for the insiders.
I decided on Friday that I would donate
$10 per goal scored by the
flames this year because I wanted to see
more offense. Yay, kids!
They knew.
They did it for the kids. They did it for Dan.
They still don't understand the math.
They scored eight goals on the weekend. Three and
win a pick five at home loss. Oh, two games.
Sorry. My bet. That's right. It's rare to help.
Got it on Friday. Bang.
So I guess depending on what you're
wanting this season to be for the flame,
Do you either want Dan to really pay up big or?
Yeah.
Hopefully it's a.
Dan,
what are you paying for a first overall pick for the lottery?
Yeah.
That's really where we're going to focus our efforts.
That's what I got.
So they scored nine goals in seven games.
Oh my goodness.
And then the two after that, eight.
Hmm.
I don't hit that?
Did I hear that?
Nine.
I didn't hear that.
Nine goals in seven games.
Yeah.
Well,
Hanson, Dan,
very generous.
The U.S.
Thank you for that.
We thank you for that.
Dan,
that's incredible.
incredibly generous. If you're going to do this all year, my God.
10 bucks.
Lowell,
five bucks.
Fox you suck. Fox you suck. Fox you suck.
Boo.
Great night at the dome fellas.
Even had my 11 year old into the booing action.
It's a tear to your eye.
It's beautiful and you can pass down.
It's a good parenting.
Real passion.
Yeah.
Good parents.
It's a real passion.
Good job, Lowell.
My loll.
And boy.
I like to see it.
You love to see it.
R&B.
699.
Weger's still their best D-Man.
10 in 10 games, second worst in the league.
Oh, sorry, minus 10 in 10 games, second worst in the league,
worse than Bouchard.
Look at his play on the New York Ranger goal.
Trade him, Mission McKenna.
Again, we'll cut all kinds of slack to McKenzie Weger
because he is paired with somebody that is no business
playing with McKenzie Weger every night for the last two seasons.
He's got no Rasmus.
He never gets Kevin Ball.
He's not getting Zane Perak.
it is Bean, it is Mirmanov, it is
a haul.
That is my contention.
It is Hanley.
We are not 10 games into the season.
It has not been a great start for many.
He is included in that group.
I will still have him at the top of my defense list for the Calgary Flames.
But that's just me.
Yeah.
I don't ever say, I don't throw shade at McKinsey.
That's true.
You don't do it.
Stoop to that level.
No, I won't.
You won't.
I recommend no one does.
R&B.
Watch yourself.
the working man
my wings
are in the top 10
loving the Finney kid
and loving the Finney kid
I mentioned this last week
Wings have been very good
they showed up in the top 10
in the standings
I'm not like he cooks wings
I did too
I was like so where do we get them
what flavor?
Yeah what are we talking
what's your recipe?
Battered or what do you
Do they travel all?
Can you deliver?
Bake deep fried?
What are we?
What are you doing?
Yeah the Fini kid's a neat story
out of Detroit for sure
good for him
to try it
Yeah I haven't paid a lot of attention
I'll have to get college
talking about him on chicklets. Wasn't he like a seventh round pick? Yeah, he's like a last round pick, made the team, playing well. You just love those stories. He's just getting a chance, guys. Just love those stories. You gotta get the kids a chance. I know we focus a lot on first overall in that, but. You can take you Destin Wolves in the seventh round. I'm okay. Yeah, go get him. You can take Johnny in the fourth, go get it.
Barnby. This might be the year to enjoy watching the oil or greasers lose more than the flames win.
Mission McKenna. Go J's. Mad Max will get the W.
No, you know what? Because you were talking about that elite defense.
Bouchard was at it again a little bit. And there is major concern.
I saw bagged milk.
Oh, BM.
Was on social media that the Eckholm extension not having yet been kicked in.
He's old, man. He's 36 right now.
He has looked very slow and has been taken advantage of.
He came back late in the playoffs and did not look himself.
He was hurt last year.
He was hurt.
He's come back from injury,
but he's also come back from injury at age 35 last year in the playoffs.
Yeah.
36-year-old season now, you're like,
well, there's no way that dusters up there have any of this new age technology.
They should be coming to Calgary to check in on investment.
Yeah.
If they're smart.
Guy like that call him aging.
You got to slow that down.
Yeah.
I think it's different issues for Bush.
I don't know if it's his age holding him back.
No, I don't think it is.
His shitter-giver was broke on the one goal against Seattle.
Happens a lot.
They got to fix it.
Yeah.
It was a two-on-one, and he kind of started skating back.
And then once he hit the blue line, he realized he wasn't going to get there.
So he just kind of.
He gets a lot of unplugged controller, if you know what I mean.
Yeah, it was unplugged controller from the blue line in, just kind of, which again, you hate to see.
That's a shame.
Yeah.
bothersome.
three regulation wins in 10 games and are sitting in an even 500,
fifth from the bottom in the west.
Old pick dog couldn't make the save.
Piceroony.
Yep.
Pick flute.
Jeez.
Tomorrow's game day.
Toronto Maple Leafs.
Toronto.
Early.
I can't wait to tell you all about the Leafs.
Let's get Jay on.
Let's get Jay on.
Rosie.
He does do a show.
He talks about the Leafs.
I know. I like Rosie.
I'm always saying yes to Rosie.
He's saying no to us. That's not correct.
He's a very busy guy.
Yeah.
We also have a special guest from New Centers of Calgary as well joining us.
Nice.
So we'll have a quick chat.
We barely need to come in.
You can take a day if you want.
Yeah, old Willie Nealander got hurt.
Oh, wow, Bill.
It didn't look that bad.
To Annava 2.
There's some thought.
Burubi says, I hope he'll be back for this Calgary game.
It's supposed to be, you know, again, what are you cheering for?
if Elander wins, it's not a bad thing for the flames.
It's IR officially for Tanev.
Morgan Riley came back.
He was injured, just missed the one game.
So he's back.
He's back.
Yeah, he's back.
But yeah, Leifes doesn't feel quite as daunting.
No.
To go in there and play the Leaves.
Early.
And for a team that was acquired with the ideas of grit
in veteran presence, they've looked rather disinterested.
I'm sure they could be better than they've looked.
We'll see how it looks tomorrow afternoon for our clock mount.
Tremendous.
Jack?
Yep.
How was the show today?
Good.
Yeah, it's fair.
I don't like that pause.
It's a month's right.
It's probably fair.
Yeah.
I don't want to show.
That was our best player and our worst player today.
That and the cholesterol hurts my heart.
It hurts to hear that because usually you're very more upbeat than that.
no he's not yeah I'm good he's down on the dump because of me is it yeah yeah Steelers
god he's and I'm funky just penguins top five in the league you'd think you'd be doing backflips
and it is amazing that uh it was Pinder that got you revved up today weird oh yeah it's like it was
kind of hey hey hey Lies comment every once in a while flames win lines peric wait a minute what
fuck you pender you got an F bomb on you real quick after you hadn't said much for a couple minutes
No, they played well.
What am I going to do?
Come and take runs.
Guys, it's a good game.
They're working hard.
Guys, what about the prick of the word?
Fuck you.
We swear.
We're swears.
I just don't know.
I'm always rats.
I'm worried about the swears.
And he's always dropping off shirts.
That's fantastic.
Our boy, Derek Newman's in the Instagram chat.
He's on a flight to L.A.
Oh, Newman.
He's a mansman.
He's a mansman.
He's looking at property in L.A.
Told his wife to take a hike.
No, man.
He's going to watch baseball.
Like a real.
man.
See,
you invited me too.
And then there's,
I got a curl.
Two spares I've never met.
So we can lose
and I can miss about six
innings of a baseball game.
You're an idiot.
Wait, what?
What is going on?
Your life choices are just disastrous.
I need my wife back here tomorrow morning.
What the hell does that have to do with that?
Then I can do stuff.
God damn it.
You're missing part of this game to curl?
One of the other guys is going to the game too in L.A.
So that's how committed they are to this curling.
That's right.
I'm the glue here, glue guy, right here.
Game three, that's in L.A., but it's Monday.
Don't you curl on Mondays?
Yeah, you know what?
You're right.
Blue Jays in the World Series, but I do curl every Monday with old people.
Problem was last Monday was a game against Seattle.
I can't keep forfeiting.
Why?
It's curling.
What will happen if we want to talk it through?
I will get a loss and we'll play next week.
Right.
So as opposed to...
That will affect our Sterling record of O and 2 very seriously.
As opposed to playing and getting a loss?
Correct.
Yeah, probably very much.
Guys, I know what I do.
This is on my witsand.
Water with you.
Wet sand.
Oh, what?
I always thought you were well organized
to the point of annoying.
And now I don't think you have a clue
what's going on in life.
You're lost.
Your parents live here.
Like, do you know so many people for a child?
Like, you have connections all over the city.
You're from here.
It's like, oh, yeah, I got a guy and this guy.
And this guy.
Oh, go and meet this guy.
But all this, it just feels like you,
you're out of options.
You're all shriveled up, me.
They're all shriveled up.
You better call investment and ask,
why am I all shriveled up?
Why am I lost in C in vest-medd.c?
Because, like you need your wife back.
But I still feel like it wouldn't be a honey.
Get on that airplane with Derek Newman.
You're not getting dropped off.
You know what the problem is?
I got that damn leaf flower now.
All these leaves are blown across the street on my front.
Now, I actually got to use the thing.
Right.
I got a mountain of laundry.
The dishes in the sink.
Got two hockey teams.
Hyena's running around all over.
You are not operating.
Pets are heads fog.
What would bubbles say?
It's right.
It's a lot here.
Ricky's growing dope again.
Julian's in jail.
Losing my mind at the Katie Hotel.
See you, buddies.
