One of the most underrated plays in the game is the empty net goal. Is that right? I don't think I've ever heard of say that. You say that a lot. Backland has that play. Not a lot, maybe, but.

I was, the game last night, had some running around to do as you do, and jumped in on the broadcast. So I went dark, didn't have my phone, the whole thing. I don't want to know what's going on in the game. Stay live, yeah. And fired it on. It's the sports net because you've got the, whatever, the center ice package. So you go, it's the sharks broadcast. broadcast. It's kind of weird. I don't think there was weather that would have delayed anybody.

And then in the stoppage of play, they have the tribute to the passing of Greg Millen. Just kind of hit me like a truck. This guy was just, he's been doing a lot of Flames hockey the last couple of years. And a shocking development is Greg Millen. There you see it. Passing away. And I just, I just, I, you'd remember him as a player, obviously, going back to his days in St. Louis and a number of other different teams of Quebec Nordiques. I had this guy's hockey cards when I was a kid.

And then it was just a staple for so many years in hockey night in Canada and then wasn't doing games. And then all of a sudden came back. And in many ways, it was like he didn't miss a beat. I liked him for, he was, he was honest.

I think there's some, broadcasters or there's some analysts you can tell when they're really trying to force a take or they're really trying to with him i just think when he was if he was something if it was a bit biting it was his opinion that's how gregg felt and everybody loved this guy and that is it's it's a terrible a terrible loss he's been around the game for upwards of 50 years which is kind of crazy yeah and for flames fans we've come accustomed to hearing his voice certainly on a more close and more intimate basis in the last couple of years. So tragedy there, obviously prayers to the, to the mill and family. I know he's got, I think already had four, has four kids and his wife and all of that, a very sudden passing.

And for everybody at Sportsnet, you don't, I mean, you work really, and you would know, Pender, when you're part of a broadcast team and you're traveling, you become a pretty tight little unit. You count on each other, hotels, Uber rides to the airport. Are you coming?

You just, you count on each other. And I know for Leslie and John Abbott and for a lot of those guys, that would be, would be a tough day and continues to be. So our best wishes go out to Millsy and those around them with sports. And of course, his family, because that was tough news to hear yesterday as the flames took to the ice. Yeah, I did it the right thing with the broadcast. I mean, you're asking people to go and do a show with one of their colleagues sudden passing that day. I totally get it. And I think that you tip your cap to Randy Hahn and that Sharks broadcast team, that's not

often easy to jump in the spots like that. But I thought that they did a great job to calling the game understanding. It was a huge game for the opposition, but not so much the sharks.
