Well, life is the gym that builds your mental and emotional toughness, the resiliency that you need to survive.
Welcome to the Bedroft's Coolie and show.
Back when Q was rolling with Lorenzo and a Benzo, I was banging with a gang of instrumental.
I had no plans on making this episode.
However, reading through the YouTube comment section, I happened to see a comment that got my attention.
Specifically, the comment was based on a YouTube post that I put up, as in a post.
with words on it that was a post of motivation, inspiration, and trying to move people towards
their desired outcome of purpose and meaning in life. And guess what happened next? One of the many
comments in that section was this particular comment. I'm going to read to you because I think
there's many of you out there that operate in the state of mind. And if that is one of the state of
minds that you operate, I want to help you out. So the dude left this. He said, recently these days have been
bad. I'm broke. The car got hit by a deer, working a part-time job at a family members restaurant
and doing DoorDash delivering stuff on the side. I got divorced last year. Depression led me to
taking no action, which killed my real estate business. Let's be honest, it was dying anyway.
Scrapping by, I just feel stuck and I'm on the hamster wheel and I don't know how to
how to get off. And so I want to share this with you because my response to him was very simple and
concise. I said, hey, I got good news for you. So many awesome places for you to start fixing your
life. Pick one and attack it. Guys, I share this with you because life is going to come to you in
tragedies, with tragedies, with adversity, with things that go wrong. That is the theme of life.
right Joseph Campbell says that all of life is chaos with brief moments of bliss and happiness.
Now, when we have those brief moments of bliss and happiness, we need to do things that prolong those
moments of bliss and happiness.
I think about our friend here, and I don't know what his cause of divorce was.
Maybe it was him.
Maybe it wasn't.
Maybe he's just got a streak of bad luck.
Maybe he lives somewhere where deer's just come crashing into his car, like he said, and
And out of nowhere, a perfect, awesome, amazing marriage just falls apart and the wife says,
I want to divorce.
And his financial economic state changes and he decides that real estate is just something
he's going to let go of and not going to, you know, selling and buying real estate.
I don't know the specific circumstances.
But I can tell you that when you are plagued with that many things going wrong in your life,
you actually might have a hand in it.
I know it doesn't sound like something you want to hear.
You probably don't want to admit it.
But when that many things go wrong in your life,
you probably have a hand in it
and you're probably an active participant
in shitting on your own life.
And you need to hear this
because there was a version of me,
the 1.0 version of me,
who somehow had all these things always going wrong for him
and I would always blame my boss and the girlfriend I was dating at the time and my family
and the people around me and my parents didn't understand and it's the economy and it's the
way I was brought up it's the blue collar mentality that I have and I realized over time as I got
a mentor in my life and my mentor's first mentor's name was Jim Franco I eventually became a personal
trainer in my early 20s and Jim Franco was one of my first personal training clients.
And he said, you know, when there's a common thread of disaster or wins in someone's life,
odds are that person has a lot to do with both winning and losing. And that is true.
See, if this guy sent a comment on the YouTube's and if he said, man, you know, I'm winning.
It's just I'm killing it in real estate and my wife absolutely loves and adores me.
And the deer is to just flock around my car and just absolutely worship me in my car, but they don't smash their bodies into it.
And, you know, money just flows freely to me.
And I'm in great shape and I have a positive mental attitude.
And I would say, what would you blame that on?
What do you think that's from?
And he would say, well, it's me, man.
I'm actually doing the things that produce this results.
And so if I was to ask our friends, what would you blame these negative circumstances on?
he probably would not say that it's me
and that I'm producing these negative results, right?
He says he's stuck.
He almost can't understand how he works at a family's restaurant,
a family member's restaurant.
He can't figure out how he ended up doing DoorDash.
He can't figure out how the divorce came to be
and how the deer smashed into his car
and how the depression came about.
And so I decided to kind of do a little,
what would I do if I was in his shoes scenario?
Because if you could relate to this, if you're in a season of losing, then understand that that is a human condition.
We all have these seasons of winning and seasons of losing.
There is no one that has a consistent season.
No one.
They may act like it on social media, but there's no one out there that has a consistent lifelong pattern of winning.
It just doesn't happen.
We win some.
We lose some.
Now, like I said, when you're in a winning season, your job is to prolong that.
Stay on course, stay focused, stay disciplined, stay grateful, stay humble, keep doing the work,
keep your head down, shut your mouth, and don't tell anyone about your wins and successes,
and keep doing the task.
And when you're losing, instead of being a victim, become an active participant in saving
yourself from the shit that you got yourself into.
And if you go, well, I didn't get myself into this.
Okay, not your fault.
Still your responsibility, right?
you didn't get yourself into it.
It's not your fault, but it is still your responsibility.
So at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if someone else got you into the circumstances
that are so dire for you right now.
It doesn't matter if the deer came out of nowhere and smashed into your car and totaled
it.
It's your responsibility to figure out how to get the car fixed, how to get from point A to
point B until your car is getting fixed, and how to keep moving your life forward.
And so when I put myself in this guy's shoes and in your shoes, I realize
Wait, I've been there.
I've been there early on in my life.
And even most recently, I went through a phase of losing, right?
You think about 2020 and you think about one of my businesses, Fit Body Boot Camp.
And I've been very vocal about this.
I was on Fox News five times over a 10-month period in 2020 during the pandemic.
And I was on Fox News speaking out against the government.
I was speaking out against this pandemic.
I was speaking out against shutting down businesses.
And I openly talked about how FitBody Boot Camp, my franchise, over a 12-month period,
through that pandemic year of 2020, we lost over 200 franchise locations.
Tell me that's not a losing season for me when I'm losing millions of dollars in revenue,
right?
And when 200 and some odd franchisees of mine who are small business owners are,
are losing their source of income.
And as much as I'm trying to get on TV and on social media
to talk out against the government,
I'm having zero impact.
Imagine how you might feel if you're in my shoes
and you want to help your franchisees
who are having to go out of business
because the government is finding them.
The local government is finding them $5,000 a day
for being open as a gym, right?
This was happening to gyms and restaurants across the country.
and was happening more
prevalently in states
that were more communistic,
such as the state that I live in here, California.
I love California. I love the climate.
I love everything about it.
I don't love the politics.
That's a different story.
Then there's states like New York
and Pennsylvania and Michigan
and many others
that were just punishing small business owners in that time.
And although we were going through a losing season, I knew that I could either mope or I have to become an active participant in trying to save my business and the business of my franchisees, right?
And over time, we were able to turn the tides.
It took a couple of years.
2021 and 2022 were definitely building seasons for me, rebuilding the Fit Body Boot Camp brand, getting those locations up and operating again, adding more new locations to it.
However, as we did that in 2021 and 2022, in May of 2023, I ended up tearing my tricept.
In July, and I'm talking like tearing it off the bone, in July of 2023, that same year,
we put my mom on hospice.
By September, two months later, my mom passed.
passed away. One month later, my son's best friend since they were little puppies
passed away at the age of 18. Now you tell me that wasn't a three and a half year losing season.
Did I have blips of winning? Sure. Sure. But predominantly I can look back at 2020, 2021,
2021, 2022, 23, and tell you that these were losing seasons for me.
I didn't trigger the pandemic.
I wasn't the one that went to Wuhan and freed the virus from that lab.
Not me.
Remember what they told us, by the way?
Yeah, we think it came from some swine, a pig.
Oh, we think it came from a bat, a fruit bat.
And we ultimately realize that, no, this is gain of function.
lab work that was released on humanity in Wuhan, China,
and so many of our politicians and the corrupt billionaires,
Bill Gates, who was also on the Epstein list, that little fuck,
knew everything about it, had planned it all out.
Now, wasn't my fault that the pandemic happened.
Wasn't my fault that we lost.
over 200 franchise locations, but it was my responsibility, big boy. Right? I could argue that it was
my fault that I tore my tricep. I was boxing with my son. I went to check his punch. Boom,
my tricep went. Right? Wasn't my fault. Then my mom died. She had dementia building up to that period.
We knew she was going to pass away. But it was still my responsibility to deal with it, to deal with
her affairs, to give her a proper burial.
And I share this with you because you will have more of these seasons.
And when you have these seasons, you have to understand that it's not God punishing you.
It's not that you deserve this.
You don't.
This is you being tested, if anything.
This is God reminding you that you've had plenty of blessings that you may have not shown gratitude
and humility for when those blessings.
and winning seasons were happening.
Hey guys, quick interruption to the Bedroskooling show.
It is cold and flu season,
and I want to make sure that you have a strong immune system
and that your body is fighting off inflammation
because right now, lots of people around you have the colder flu.
And you want to make sure that, one, you don't get it.
And if you do get it, you want to get over it as quickly as possible
so you can go back to dominating your day and stacking winds, right?
So most of you out there are probably taking a whole bunch of supplements
like vitamin C, vitamin D, echinacea, ginger, turmeric, astragulus, B12,
zinc, and while all these things are great for building your immune system, one, they cost a lot of money,
and two, the quality of the ingredients in here are not great. So I want you to throw all these away,
and instead what you're going to do is you're going to get the Trulene everyday wellness shot.
Taste delicious. You can feel it working. You're going to boost your immune system,

Now, back to the show.
And so we could only appreciate beautiful sunny days that are warm and just we can soak up the sun.
the only times you could really appreciate that when you have a string of beautiful sunny days,
you begin to think every day should be sunny and warm and ah, so blissful,
until the thunderstorms come.
It gets dark and cloudy, cold and rainy.
And you go, man, I remember a couple weeks ago,
we had a stretch of several days of beautiful sun.
Maybe you weren't that aware of it.
Maybe you weren't that grateful for it.
I can tell you this.
Each time I get injured, each time I get injured, whether lifting weights or in jujitsu or just
doing some kind of stupid activity that I probably shouldn't be doing.
I go, damn, I really value my knees.
Now that I'm limping, I really value my knees.
Or when I had my double hernia surgery last year, right?
Pre-surgery, I went eight whole months without getting the surgery because I had so many speaking
events stacked up that I had to go through all my speaking events and just getting out of bed
modifying my workouts everything was painful I remember thinking to myself during those eight months
man I was not grateful enough for my abs for my core strength for the ability to move without
pain and these eight months are so horrific so awful my jiu jitsu is suffering my my gym workouts
are suffering my surfing is suffering getting out of bed was something
suffering. My quality of life was suffering. But guess what? I learned to become more humble. I learn to
become more grateful. I learn to expand and prolong the winning seasons now because I am aware of them.
I am acutely aware of them because we have gotten so complacent in life that when things are not
exactly perfect the way we want it, we think that that's the norm. It's expected for everything to be
perfect and ideal and exactly as you envision it in your beautiful little noggin.
But what ends up happening is life comes to you and says, hey, I'm going to show up and I'm
going to give you some adversity.
People are going to get sick.
People are going to die.
Deers will run into your car.
Divorce will happen.
Financial losses will take place.
Competition will come up.
Economies will shift.
Technologies will change.
will stop coming in.
Sales will die down
and you will have to figure it out, my friend.
And you're either going to have to figure it out
by becoming a victor
and figuring out how to solve these problems
or concede and die as a victim.
And so our friend here who left me a comment,
you know, I had to almost channel my inner Jock Willink
as he started listing off this fucking country
song list of everything that's going wrong for him.
And I want to just say, good.
Now go start fixing something, right?
Which is essentially what I said.
And understand that when we have these challenges and adversities, it's not a bad thing, guys.
Because you go into the gym, you work out consistently for what?
To build your body, to build your health, to build your strength capacity and your cardiovascular
capacity, right?
that's why we work out so that you could be healthier stronger more cardiovascularly like have more
endurance well what resistance do we put ourselves through for mental and emotional toughness
well life gives us that resistance doesn't it and you have to work out through it you have to
problem solve through it you can't just go to the gym and stand around and get the results you have to go
to the gym and then start lifting the weight, filling the burn, get sweaty, get tired, get exhausted,
run fast, jump, do the pull-ups, do the burpees, squat, bench, deadlift, all the things.
Get on the mats, get choked out, get punched at.
All those things end up building your capacity for strength, mobility, flexibility,
cardiovascular power, all of it.
Well, life is the gym that builds your mental and emotional toughness.
the resiliency that you need to survive.
The world is constantly trying to kill you after all.
I mean, think about this.
The moment you are born, you begin to die.
The world is constantly trying to kill you.
Three times a day, you have to find food to eat.
Multiple times a day, you have to find water to drink.
There are plenty of places on this beautiful planet that we live on.
where people have the struggle of actually not having food to eat, of clean water to drink.
Crime so high that the moment they leave their home, they are at a risk of carjackings,
kidnappings, murders, robberies.
Now, most of you listening to this, you live in a first world country like the United States.
And so to you, that's a far, far dream.
What I mean getting mugged?
What I mean getting kidnapped?
What I mean getting carjacked?
That doesn't happen here, but it very quickly can.
And just because those threats don't exist,
the threats of things that mentally and emotionally exhausts you, those do exist.
You will be broken up with.
You will get injured.
Someone you love will die or get sick.
economies will change, technologies will evolve, and you will have to try and figure it out,
my friend.
And if you don't, and you just mope and cry and bitch and complain and think that you are
just going to stay in this slum of pain and hope that you could somehow get off the hamster
wheel magically.
No, God's great hands aren't just going to come up and scoop you up.
God wants you to be an active participant in saving your own life.
God put these trials and tribulations in front of you so that he can test you to see if you will become the testimony of the man that you want to be.
And so there's a test, my friend.
When you have the losing seasons, become a active participant in saving yourself.
Don't see yourself as a victim, see yourself as the victor.
Be grateful for these challenges.
and be grateful for having air in your lungs and a brain in your head to be able to process through
and problem solve through these things so that you can get to the winning season.
Know that there's hope at the end of the tunnel.
There's light way at the end.
Your job is to take active steps forward.
No matter how small those steps are and periodically you might end up taking a step back or two.
Periodically you might have to stop and pause and catch your breath,
but be forever taking forward momentum.
And if you're willing to do that,
you will find yourself in a winning season.
And when you do,
do everything you can prolong that winning season.
Stay structured,
stay committed,
stay grateful,
stay humble,
shut your mouth,
like I said earlier,
and don't share any of your wins with anyone.
That's when you start getting braggadocious
and you start flexing.
There's a tiny,
tiny, small group of people who know about my big wins, who know about my next move.
Everyone else, they get to be spectators.
They get to sit on the sidelines of my life and watch it all happen.
And I know some of those people might be rooting from my demise.
And that's okay.
I'm going to let them choke on my success.
And I want you to do the same.
And when the losing season comes, those people will be cheering for you to continue to lose.
That's okay.
Let them choke on your win.
winnings and see how you got back to winning. The winning season is not forever. The losing season
is not forever. What is forever is the resilience that you're going to build, the mental toughness
that you're going to acquire, the emotional discipline that you're going to develop. And when you do,
you become a formidable fucking human. You become so dangerous that no matter the circumstances,
you somehow find yourself winning.
I want this guy who left this comment to hear this message.
And I want him to realize that some of those things that he listed off,
while they were not his fault, they are his responsibility.
And I want you to understand the same thing.
And I want to thank you for watching and listening to this episode of the Bedros Kooling
and show.
If you got value from this and you're watching this on YouTube,
understand that 72% of you watching this are not subscribed.
It would mean the world to me and it costs you nothing to subscribe and leave a comment
and let me know exactly what you thought about this episode.
But above all, remember this, that averages the enemy, success is your responsibility,
and change can take place in an instant if you are willing to flip the switch.
I'll see you next time.
What's the difference between me and you?
Back when Q was rolling with Lorenzo and a Benzo, I was banging with a gang of instrumental.
