Starting point is 00:00:00 People don't fail because they lack talent or skills. People fail because they lack standards and structure. Guys, welcome to the Bedroskoolin show. My name is Bedroskulian, and today's episode is exactly that. The standards that you need and the structure that you have to develop for yourself to have an amazing life. The reality is that standards determine the quality of your life. In other words, you get what you tolerate, right?
Starting point is 00:00:25 And so if we know that, then what if we were able to set better standards, and then back those standards up with structure, because structure determines whether you reach those set standards or not. And, you know, the argument that I'll hear from people is like, well, I have a hard time, you know, having structure in my life, having routine in my life, having, you know, rules. And I think about that, and I go, actually, you're kind of lying because you really do have structure in your life.
Starting point is 00:00:52 You do. Most people, by default, they have a structure in their life. See, just because you don't set standards doesn't mean that you don't have them. And so just because you don't set a structure to your life doesn't mean that you don't have it. And here's what I mean by that. Someone who doesn't set standards, in other words, what quality of life they want, how much money they want to earn, what level of health they want, how fit they want to be, the type of relationship that they want to get into, the place that they want to live, the time freedom
Starting point is 00:01:22 that they want to have, et cetera, all those things are standards, right? If you don't set specific standards for those factors, well, you will kind of just reduce yourself down to the lowest common denominator that the average peasants around you have, which is to what? To be in debt, to be broke, to be fat, to be lazy, to be tired, to be anxious, to be depressed, to be addicted, to be sick, right? And so that ends up being your default standards because humanity's default standards are those things. And then of course, how do you get into those areas of life? Well, you kind of have shitty structure.
Starting point is 00:01:59 You wake up and you don't really have a priority list to work off of. You don't have a routine that's going to set you up to win. You certainly don't have any kind of strategy to attack or execute. And so you go, what do I feel like doing today? And if you're going to go off of your feelings and what you feel like doing, odds are you going to feel like hanging out, being a bump on a log, sitting, on a couch, scrolling through social media, playing video games, taking a rip off the bong, you know, drinking an energy drink first thing in the morning, eating shitty food, skipping
Starting point is 00:02:32 your workout because you don't feel like working out, right? Working out is a byproduct of high standards because, you know, I want better health, I want more energy, I want to be fit, I want to be jacked. So that's a standard. And if you don't have that standard, then you reduce yourself down to the standard of being lazy, sick, fat, anxious, depressed, broke, and in debt, which is what I call the peasant lifestyle. So why is this important for you to understand? Because the moment you have standards set and you back that up with structure, you are almost guaranteed to win in life.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Now, I say you're almost guaranteed to win in life because life does come to us with winning seasons and losing seasons. I've done a bunch of episodes on that, right? And it's inevitable. You will experience your share of losing seasons. and you will experience your share of winning seasons. And I've said this before. If you're in a losing season,
Starting point is 00:03:24 be an active participant to get out of that losing season. Be proactive in getting shit done and putting one foot in front of the other to get out of that losing season. And if you're in a winning season, do everything you can to prolong that winning season. Don't take it for granted. Don't get egotistical about it.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Don't get entitled. And certainly don't rest on your laurels. keep your foot mashed on that pedal and stay in that winning season. But short of that, if you have standards and structure, you're virtually guaranteed to win in life or whatever category and business, right? And so I want to talk to you guys about that because it is massively important for you to understand that your high standards shape your identity. Many, many years ago, and this has to be probably about 15 years ago or so,
Starting point is 00:04:12 I saw a video of Tony Robbins at one of his big, giant mega conferences and when I saw that video of Tony Robbins which was about 15 years ago that I saw it that video must have been at least five years older because he looks so much younger and I remember him being on stage and saying that asking someone who had a microphone in the crowd and he asked that person who did you have to be when you were younger to please your mom or your dad, right? And the person started breaking down because the question that that person had was, how do I stop becoming a people pleaser? How do I stop letting people steamroll over me? I don't know how to set boundaries for myself. And this person was breaking down and Tony Robbins
Starting point is 00:05:06 asked out one question, who did you have to become as a young kid to be able to maintain peace in your family and please your mom and dad. And so that kid had to grow up into an adult, but still maintained the same identity as a young kid, a people pleaser, someone who didn't feel like his needs mattered, someone who didn't feel like he had a voice. And today as a grown adult, he was complaining to Tony that not only in the workplace, but also at home,
Starting point is 00:05:41 He feels like he has no voice, that he has to try and please everyone and solve everyone's problems, even to his detriment. I share that with you because by default, he has set a standard for himself that he's last, that he's not worthy, that he is not to be heard from, that boundaries do not exist for him, and that it is his job to solve other people's problems and please them even to his detriment. Now, you could see how damaging that is to someone in a relationship or in a workplace, right? Like, what is the quality of life for this person? And so you have to understand that your standards shape your identity and the lack of standards shape your identity. And so since I'm beaten standards to death, let's talk about structure. Remember, I said if you don't have standards, then you end up being lazy and fat and broke and depressed and anxious and without purpose, right?
Starting point is 00:06:35 Well, the same thing applies with that structure. People go, well, I don't have structure. I don't know how to follow a routine. Routines don't work for me. And I'm like, I beg to differ. I think you do have a routine. You do have a structure. The absence of having intentional structure in your life by default builds a different
Starting point is 00:06:50 type of structure, a structure of mediocrity. In other words, that's the type of person who wakes up late, hits the snooze button, doesn't really have a plan for the morning, a routine to set himself up to win. doesn't really have a strategy for creating financial freedom for himself, for putting himself in a place of greater health, both physically and mentally and emotionally, and to get fit and to develop skills. And so day after day, you get up and you drift through life.
Starting point is 00:07:25 And you're like this rudderless ship, wherever the water currents take you or whatever the wind takes you is where you is where you end up. And so by default, you do the same things over and over again, which are damaging and detrimental to your mental health, financial health, physical health, relational health, right? That is structure. That is routine. You do have structure and routine. It's just one that is setting you up to lose in life. And so we're going to talk about what you need to do to start setting higher standards and then
Starting point is 00:07:58 backing those standards up with structure so that you can win. Now remember, I said high standards will shape your identity, just like having no standards. Because no one ever sets low standards. You either have high standards for yourself, or you have no standards, and therefore both will end up shaping your life and essentially creating, presenting to the world who you are and who you become, right?
Starting point is 00:08:21 Someone that has negative energy, pessimistic, no positive outlook on life, kind of bad vibe, fat, tired, can't articulate your thoughts and feelings well. Those are all a byproduct of having no standards for yourself. And so if we know that then, and we know that high standards shape our identity, what else do they do? Hey guys, quick interruption to the Bedros-Coolion show. Listen, if you're like me and you love fitness, you love helping people, and you love being an entrepreneur,
Starting point is 00:08:51 you might want to open up a Fit Body Boot Camp gym. It doesn't matter what day of the week, what time the session is. Fit Body Boot Camp locations are full of clients getting amazing results. With hundreds of locations across the United States and Canada, we are helping people burn fat and build muscle while helping entrepreneurs like you develop business models that are successful and have recurring revenues. So if you think FitBody Boot Camp might be a great business model for you,
Starting point is 00:09:16 then I want you to go to FitBody Bootcamp.com. I want you to click the franchising link, fill out the application to see if there's a territory available in your town and your area. And who knows, if you're a good fit, we will invite you to the Fit Body Boot Camp family. Now back to the show. High standards also attract the right people in your life. Think about it.
Starting point is 00:09:35 You've heard the saying that you are the byproduct of the people that you hang out with the most. Now, if you hang out with losers then, you're going to be like them. Right? There's another quote that says, show me your friends and I'll show you your future. Well, how accurate is that? Because again, you're the byproduct of the five people you hang out with the most. And you're like, hey, I don't even hang out with five people. That might actually even be even worse.
Starting point is 00:09:59 because now you're ruminating in your own thoughts. You're only with yourself. All you know is what you know, and you don't know anything better. You have no one to really compete with and measure yourself against. And so you start falling into a state of depression and sadness and anxiety,
Starting point is 00:10:16 and you feel without meaning and purpose and significance, and that's how we start kind of climbing into this cycle of vices, right? Whether it's alcohol, whether it's drugs, whether it's social scrolling, video games, television, to distract yourself and to kind of escape your reality. But if you have higher standards, you attract better people around you, the right people around you. Because when you have high standards, hey, I'm going to work out on a consistent basis. I'm going to be lean and jacked on a consistent basis, which means I also have to get clean food and prepare clean food. And maybe I'm going to have to go on a run three or four times a week as I go to the gym, four, five, six times a week.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Well, think about that. those higher standards now put you in a grocery store to meet better people, put you in a gym to meet better, higher performing, you know, high vibrating people. And if you say, well, I'm also going to increase my standards for life in terms of quality of life, where I live, you might meet some people in your neighborhood who are doing well, who can share with you how they're doing in life and how they're winning, and you might even meet a honey who is far better than the people that you've dated in the past. because when you start putting yourself in proximity of the right people,
Starting point is 00:11:30 the right people end up coming into your life. Because if you set your standards for faith and you say, hey, you know what? I need to start going back to church. I need to become a believer again. Or whatever your path of faith is, maybe it's spirituality. So you start taking yoga classes. You're still putting yourself around people who are intentional about their health, intentional about their faith,
Starting point is 00:11:55 intentional about their desired outcome for life. And that is a difference between someone who sets high standards, intentionality versus someone that has no standards, which means you're what? You're eating fast food, hiding out in your mom's basement, not coming out of your apartment or your bedroom, no real goals and expectations, not putting yourself around the type of people
Starting point is 00:12:17 who can set you up to win in life, right? Because if you set higher standards, now you're going to church and you're reading books at a bookstore and you're working out at a gym. Maybe you're doing jujitsu or boxing, and so you're going to a combative's gym. You're out there at the park running and you might run into someone and start like Connor over here. I don't know if it's okay to mention Connor's name, guys,
Starting point is 00:12:44 but I'm going to mention Connor's name. He works for Trulene, a handsome, beautiful dashing guy works for my company Trulene. He is in a running club. And he's part of this, I think it's the Newport Beach running club that he's joined. And let's just say that when we meet up for jujitsu, you know, and we're all stretching and shooting the shit on the mats, I'm like, Connor, how's the old running club going for you? He's like, hey, it's going really well. I go, you meet any people? And he says, plenty.
Starting point is 00:13:17 And how cool is that, right? The guy's in shape. He's good looking. He is putting himself out there in the communities of running and working out in Jiu-Jitsu and all this other stuff. And there's no shortage of quality people that he's meeting. That's what you want to do in life for yourself. The alternative then is to go, well, you know, I'm just going to stay in this hovel and,
Starting point is 00:13:41 you know, feel sorry for myself and feel like a victim. So what else do high standards do? Well, they also improve the quality of your life. See, once you have high standards, all of a sudden, you have non-negotiables. and high standards mean that, hey, I won't live below these financial means. I won't date or marry someone who doesn't treat me this way or treats me that way, right? If you don't have standards, though, you're like, oh, look, someone with a heartbeat is interested in dating me or marrying me. They're broken, they're damaged.
Starting point is 00:14:15 They're probably going to be bad for me. But fuck it. That's the only option I have, right? That is a no standard man. if you have a high standard for yourself, then you know that the person you're looking for is going to have to respect you and love you and treat you well and give you peace and be that soft place for you to land at the end of a hard workday. Isn't that what you want from your lady? And then you might say with all those traits, these are the physical features I'm looking for.
Starting point is 00:14:42 I want her to be fit and I wanted to dress up nice for me when we go out on dates. Like how awesome is that? But that means you have to have these high standards for yourself. You have to show up as the opposite to that counterpart. You have to show up as the metaphorical Connor that I just talked about. Optimistic, well-spoken, fit, financially well-to-do. And you can do that. You can do that.
Starting point is 00:15:11 See, those standards improve the quality of your life. They improve your quality of sleep because if you have high standards for your sleep, it's non-negotiable. I'm going to go to bed at 10 o'clock and I'm going to wake up at 4.30 every day. That's it. That's the standard for me. It's a non-negotiable. Therefore, the quality of sleep that I get and I'm a pretty bad sleeper, the quality of sleep I get is pretty decent.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Pretty decent. Same with my body fat, right? I'm like, you know what? I'm 51 years old. It doesn't matter. I always need to have abs. Hey, guys, quick interruption to the Bedroskooling show. It is cold and flu season and I want to make sure that you have a strong immune system.
Starting point is 00:15:49 and that your body is fighting off inflammation because right now lots of people around you have the colder flu and you want to make sure that one you don't get it and if you do get it you want to get over it as quickly as possible so you can go back to dominating your day and stacking winds right so most of you out there are probably taking a whole bunch of supplements like vitamin c vitamin d echinacea ginger turmeric astragulus b12 zinc and while all these things are great for building your immune system one they cost a lot of money and two the quality of the ingredients in here are not great so i want you to to throw all these away and instead what you're going to do is you're going to get the truleen everyday wellness shot taste delicious you can feel it working you're going to boost your immune
Starting point is 00:16:27 system fight off inflammation have more energy and keep your body hydrated because we recently added pink hemelaine sea salt for sodium and potassium and magnesium to keep you hydrated so here's an offer that you can't refuse go to trulein.com use my name bedroast to get 50% off the truene subscribe and save offer plus you're going to get free shipping and a 30-day unconditional money back guarantee. This product is so good, such high quality, strong efficacy, and third party tested, that I want you to try it out at no risk. So use my name Bedrose to get 50% off, plus free shipping and 30-day unconditional money back guarantee. Now back to the show. And so I eat to have abs. I train to have abs. Is the goal of the abs? No. The visual abs tell me that I have discipline,
Starting point is 00:17:17 consistency, work ethic, I can delay gratification, and above all, if I have abs, I'm lean enough, I'm hovering between whatever, 11 and 12 and a half, 13% body fat where I have better health, right? That means I'm lifting, I'm getting jujitsu in, I'm getting my cardio in, and I'm eating clean. It's the only way you can have abs. So you could be strong, you could be fast, but you won't necessarily be lean. and that means your arteries might be plaqued up. That means your blood pressure might be high. That means you might be fighting diabetes or prediabetes.
Starting point is 00:17:57 That means you might have osteopenia or you might even have osteoporosis. Plenty of young people in their 20s and 30s now have osteopenia and osteoporosis. Why? Because they're not doing weight-bearing exercise. They're not getting enough protein into their diet because their standards are not set. And so they're like, I'm young. There should be no reason that my bones are brittle. and then bam, your bones are brittle.
Starting point is 00:18:18 And so when you have high standards, quality of life improves in every category, finances, relationship, sleep, physique, mindset. You won't tolerate losers and energy vampires around you when you have high standards. You catch what I'm saying, right? So now let's shift gears into a structure. So now that you know, all right, I need to set myself standards. And by the way, if you're like, all right, so what are the categories that I need to set standards for, Bedros?
Starting point is 00:18:44 Let's set them right here. faith, family, fitness, and finance. Right? If you're a young dude, you don't have a family yet. You might say faith, relationship, fitness, and finances. Like, what are the standards? Maybe you're like, hey, look, I want to make at least $300,000 a year, and I want to live in this city, in this part of the community
Starting point is 00:19:06 because it's safe, it's beautiful, it's got rolling hills, or it's close to the water, or it's whatever, it's in the mountains. See, once that becomes a standard, and you make that non-negotiable, your conscious and subconscious mind starts working towards achieving that, right? And of course, through the structure that we're going to talk about, I'm going to show you how you're going to achieve that. So you've got to set those standards very specifically, very clearly.
Starting point is 00:19:31 And quite honestly, if you want to make those standards even more bulletproof, set a deadline next to it. That by this date, I'll be making at least $300,000 a year, right? It's a great place to start. If you're an entrepreneur, you might say. say, hey, you know what? My company needs to be making $5 million a year. I need to be making $500,000 a year home. And then from there, I'll continue to scale. And by this date, my company needs to be making $15 million a year. And that, once you do that, well, then you start backending into it. Well, if I need to be
Starting point is 00:20:02 making $15 million a year in my company, how many employees do I need? What do they need to do in terms of marketing and lead generation? What is the sales conversion that we need? How much revenue do we need to generate per client or customer? How frequently do we want clients and customers to buy from us again, a secondary and tertiary purchase? Are we going to set expectations for referral generation from our customers? How are we going to fulfill the services to those customers to be able to make $15 million a year? Who's going to lead the teams? Because I don't want to lead the teams. I want the time freedom. I want to lead my leaders, but I want leaders to lead the teams of people who are going to do the marketing, the sales, the systems, the fulfillment, the support. So you see, once we set a standard and
Starting point is 00:20:44 it becomes non-negotiable, we start working backwards and how we're going to achieve that number by that date. And you do that for all four categories, faith, family, fitness, and finance. So then we back all that up with structure, because structure equals the foundation of your routines. That's it. When you think about, well, what is a routine? It's what you do on an automatic basis every day, period. Right? Structure equals routine. And routine is what you do on an automatic basis every day. And like I said, those of you who are like, oh, I don't have structure, I don't know how to follow a routine. I'm just not good with routines. Hey, dumbass, you have a routine.
Starting point is 00:21:16 You have a routine. Your routine, like I said, might be to wake up late, hit the snooze button, drink and energy drinks, scroll on social media, waste a whole bunch of time, miss out on the gym, eat shitty foods, take a hit of the fucking bong, whatever it is. But you've got a routine and you do it consistently every day, which is why you've set the standard of mediocrity and peasantry, and you've hit it. You've hit the fucking bullseye because you've got no standards and the structure and the routine that you have put you in Peasantville.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Now, if you just modify those standards and modify your structure and your routine, you're going to be a winner. So if we know that routine allows us to win in life, especially if it's a routine that's set up to help us win, and we know that routine is things that we do automatically based on the standards that we've set, what are the areas of routines that we can prioritize? Well, how about sleep? How about what you eat?
Starting point is 00:22:13 How about the exercises that you do? How about the self-development? How about the things that you prioritize? Right? And that's called time blocking. Time block how much sleep you need every day and what time you're going to go to bed. Time block what you're going to eat, when you're going to eat it
Starting point is 00:22:27 based on the macros, proteins, fats, and carbs that you need to achieve the physicality that you want. And if that means you have to time block two hours on a Sunday to do meal prep for the week, guess what? That's what you're doing. That's the beautiful thing about structuring, things. When you structure time blocks, you get shit done in those time blocks. Because once you've set the standard and you have now structured time blocks for yourself, now the rest of it is to be
Starting point is 00:22:53 disciplined enough and focused enough to do the things in the time blocks that you have set out to do. Like, could you imagine if I just wake up randomly and I'm like, ah, should I work out today or not? Should I do a podcast for next week or should I do it tomorrow? Like, how shitty would that be? How unpredictable would my life be? How much uncertainty would I have? An unpredictability and uncertainty gives us what? Anxiety. And then you wonder why you have all this anxiety.
Starting point is 00:23:22 But if I know today's the day that I'm filming two episodes of podcasts and then afterwards I'm filming three VSLs, I can bring the clothes that I need, I can prepare early in the morning for all these things, and I've got the time blocked off to film the content, no anxiety, no uncertainty, an absolute predictability in my life. And guess what that gives me? That gives me peace and that gives me calm and that reduces anxiety, that creates momentum. It's a lifestyle by design. It's clarity.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Who doesn't want all that? Right? So understand finally that structure improves focus, productivity and your desired outcome. The structure means you have to time block what you want, prioritize what you want to achieve, and then create a time block every day to do those things to achieve the standard of outcome that you want. And if you do that, you will win. Winners have standards and structure. Losers by default have no standards and structure, which means they
Starting point is 00:24:25 accept the lowest form of standard and structure, which is peasant lifestyle being broke, debt, fat, tired, alone, upset without purpose, drifting through life. and doing what they feel like doing on a whim, and therefore having so much anxiety and uncertainty in their life. I hope this makes sense to you. And I put some kind of like finishing thoughts here together. High standards is what level of lifestyle you demand of yourself. Structure is how you will execute it daily.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Look at it that way. Standards without structure lead to frustration. Structure without standards lead to mediocrity. That's a given. That's a prescription. Guys, I hope you got a lot of value from this episode of the Bedros-Culian show. If you're watching this on YouTube and you are not subscribed, you're part of the 74% of the people watching who are not subscribed. It would mean a lot to me that you would subscribe, leave a comment and like this video.
Starting point is 00:25:23 But above all, remember this, that averages the enemy, that success is your responsibility, and change can take place in an instant if you are willing to flip the switch. I'll see you next time.
