A man has a goal set in his heart from God.
Like you were not accidentally brought here to this planet.
You were brought here to have a mission, to have meaning, and a life's purpose.
And it's your job to develop that through achieving your goals.
And I get it.
It's scary.
But what if I said you could actually achieve your goals?
And all you have to do is these two things that Jim Rohn talks about that have helped me over the last 15 years since I've seen that video.
I said goals and I use these two things that I've learned from.
Jim Rohn to achieve these goals. And I want to share that with you because if you were not
locked onto those goals, again, it's going to be a life full of regret and without purpose and
meaning. Welcome to the Bedroats Coolie and show. Deep in your heart, you have a goal. And one of
the saddest things in life is when a man does not go on the journey to find, develop, and
realize his goals. Because that is when you lose all sense of meaning, purpose, significance,
and mission and make no mistake about it when a man does not have purpose, significance,
meaning, and a life's mission, that man drifts, as Napoleon Hill would say.
Guys, welcome to the Bedros-Coolian show.
Today's episode is exactly that, how to achieve your biggest life's goals.
And quite honestly, it's a two-step process and it's something that I learned from Jim Rome.
And it's a video that I saw, gosh, 15 years ago or so.
And it literally stuck with me because when you have a goal in a lot,
life. And if you're watching this and you're saying, look, I don't have a goal. I just want to
survive. I just want to get through today. I just want to get through next month. I'm here to tell you
that whether you keep that goal a secret or it's public, you have a goal. Maybe you have a goal to write a book.
Maybe you have a goal to grow a business. You have a goal to get on stage and do something to start a
podcast, to do a YouTube show, to be someone, to do something, to become the best dad on the
planet, whatever that thing is, a man has a goal set in his heart from God. Like, you were not
accidentally brought here to this planet, right? You were brought here to have a mission,
to have meaning and a life's purpose. And it's your job to develop that through achieving
your goals. And I get it. It's scary. Some of those goals you keep private because you don't
want to get rejected. You don't want to deal with the potential of failing. You don't want to deal with the
fear of the people who will give you negative feedback on it. Other goals you make public,
but then you don't do anything about it and then you feel like you're stuck and you haven't
really done anything towards your goals. But what if I said you could actually achieve your goals?
And all you have to do is these two things that Jim Rohn talks about that have helped me over
the last 15 years since I've seen that video. It's helped me grown FitBody Boot Camp into a $200
million empire. Launch all my other businesses. Truly supplements, few will hunt, FitPro
Tracker Software, my coaching business.
my live events, all of it.
It's helped me with my health and fitness, my relationship.
It's helped me across the board in personal development and just becoming a better leader.
I said goals and I use these two things that I've learned from Jim Rohn to achieve these goals.
And I want to share that with you because if you were not locked onto those goals,
again, it's going to be a life full of regret and without purpose and meaning.
And so Jim Rohn says this.
He says, a goal equals a man's meaning, purpose, and mission in life.
Right. And I believe that is true. Especially we as men, we're like dogs. We like to lock on to a mission. We want to do something. I've got this big beautiful dog. Her name is Cookie. You may have heard me talk about her before. She's part German Shepherd, part Mastiff. She's a big dog. And she loves to have a mission in life. Her mission is to go and, you know, protect the property. Her mission is to look after my kids when they're outside playing. Her mission is to play catch with me several times every morning before, you know, eating her breakfast. Like, you know, you know,
She knows that she's got a duty.
No different than a man, we need a life's mission so that we can have the sense of meaning
and purpose and significance that we're here.
And your goal is exactly that.
It's something for you to get up and fight towards an adventure to have a battle to fight,
challenges to take on.
And if we don't have that, we begin to drift in life, like Napoleon Hill says in his book,
outwitting the devil.
And once a man starts drifting, that is when he begins to lean into vice.
You know, vices of alcohol, drugs, video games, pornography, all these different things that will
take you away from your life's mission and purpose.
And before you know, when enough time has gone by and you feel like a failure and a loser,
you're not a failure and a loser, my friend.
I'm here to tell you that.
What you are, however, is someone who has a goal in your heart and in your head, but you
don't know what to do to get there.
Quite honestly, goals are pretty scary to try and achieve.
they really are because it is a challenge against the version of the person that you are today, right?
Like if I don't have any goals, then it's okay for me to stay this way.
But if I have big goals in life, then that means I have to challenge myself and develop myself into a better human.
I have to get more education.
I have to have more discipline.
I have to become more decisive.
I have to take faster action.
And all of those things lend itself to discomfort, right?
And if we're not, if we're not leaning towards the sides of our comfort zone and we're staying square in the middle of our comfort zone, that kind of makes it a pretty predictable and boring life.
That doesn't really give us much of a mission or purpose in life, right?
And so Jim Rome says this.
He says, if you've got a goal in your heart, the first thing you want to ask yourself is why.
Why do I want it?
Right.
Why do I want this goal?
And I believe that to be true because he says when your why is big enough, then how becomes easy.
And that's such a powerful statement.
When your why to achieve a goal is big enough, the how becomes easy.
Because if you have a strong why, your why could be for your family, for your kids to change the trajectory of your bloodline.
Maybe you grew up like me poor and broke.
And I lived in Section 8 housing and money was something that was always hard to come by.
And I remember thinking, I want to put my family in a position.
where we will never lack money again.
It wasn't that I was naturally gifted as an entrepreneur.
There was no entrepreneurial bloodline in my family.
It was simply because the absence of money in my life
when I was a young boy created so much pain.
And I saw my mom and dad,
my brother and sister go through so much agony
because of the absence of money
that I committed to becoming someone
who can create financial freedom.
My why was that I will always be,
there for my family financially and I will always be that guy who can create financial security
for the people that I love. Today that barrier financial security extends out to the people who work
for me, to my friends and family, to people that I coach and consult. And it's such a good feeling
to be able to share my superpower. But I had to first set a goal that I would become a massively
successful entrepreneur, that I would make millions of dollars, that I'd be able to donate to Shriner's
Children's Hospital, Toys for Tots, Compassion International on a consistent basis every year.
And those are scary goals because that's me saying that not only do I want to make money for me
and my family, I want so much money to flow into my life that I could share with others and then
give to charities and causes that I believe in. That is a lofty goal for someone who does not come
from the background of achievement. Like I wasn't a great student. D's and Fs all throughout elementary
school, junior high and high school. But I can tell you that for me, I did exactly what Jim said,
which is, why do I want it? And it was for my family, right? Why am I willing to pay the price?
It was for my family to create financial security for my family that I was born from and for the
family that I would create and the friends who include now are included in that family. My extended
family has grown so big, my chosen family, right? So when you ask yourself, why do I want
this, make sure you dig deep and figure out the most painful, emotional reason why you want it.
Something that is aligned with pain in your life that, you know, achieving this goal,
whether it's health, fitness, mindset, money, personal development, relationship,
achieving this goal will solve a pain and it will be so emotionally connected to a positive
outcome that you can't help but achieve it no matter what levels and layers of obstacles
and adversity are put in front of you
because the quest towards any goal,
you will have massive amounts
of adversity and obstacles.
I promise you that.
That is God testing you.
That is not God punishing you.
That is not the universe telling you
that you're not meant to achieve success
and freedom and financial well-being
or health and a great relationship
and a positive mindset.
No, those obstacles and adversities and challenges
and roadblocks that you're going to experience
are literally a given
in the quest towards a goal.
Because each time you go towards your goal,
you're being tested by your higher power, God.
And each time you break through that adversity and that challenge,
it's like going into the gym and training your muscles, right?
The heavier, the weights that you use,
the more frequently that you push yourself against the resistance in the gym,
the stronger those muscles get.
Same thing applies to your goals.
The more adversity and obstacles and challenges that you face
and keep pushing through,
the more you begin to grow your willpower, your emotions, your mindset.
And once you have developed these mental and emotional muscles,
you have now so much fortitude to continue to grow with bigger goals in mind.

Camp family. Now back to the show. And so Jim Rohn says, look, find a reason why that is so big
that it makes the how easy to do. Why am I willing to pay the price? Why am I willing to work so
hard for this? Why am I willing to sacrifice? Why go farther than I have today? Why do I want to
learn so much more than I already know? See, if your reason why is so meaningful and so
emotionally connected to pain, then guess what? You will start achieving those goals. But if you're
wise, ah, I want to make more money so I can have a Lambo. First time you achieve any kind of
adversity, you can be like, ah, you know what, the Lambo's not worth it, right? Or you know what? I want to
lose weight so that I can have a six pack. So I can take a picture and put on Instagram. Now, right. Well,
that may never happen because you're like, do I really want that picture or do I really want this,
you know, bag of Fritos that I want to stuff into my part?
my hole. Now imagine if the reason you wanted to lose weight was because heart disease runs in your
family like it does in mine, that people died early of strokes and heart attacks. And you know that you
don't want your kids to be without their dad. Now your desire to achieve that goal in your health
and fitness is attached to such great pain, the pain of my kids losing their dad, my family, my friends,
losing their friend, right?
That I will do anything to eat clean and work out and keep a positive mental attitude to live
longer because heart disease runs in my family.
And you know this, I can't change the genetics, but I can change the behavior that I have
towards my genetics to elongate, prolong my life.
See, when you attach your desired outcome, the reason why.
To pain and emotion, nothing can.
stop you. And once you've done that, you have to ask yourself the next question, which is,
why not me? Why not you? So let me ask you this. Why not you? If you want to make more money,
why not you? If you want to get in great shape and have an awesome relationship, be positive
in your mental mindset, have emotional discipline, be recognized as someone important in the world.
Why not you? You know, you do realize that you are the main actor in the movie.
that is your life, right? You're not the co-star. You're not some side character in the movie.
You are the main character. So why not put out some main character energy? Why not you?
Right? You've got the access to the information. It's on YouTube and podcasts and courses and
coaches and mentors. You've got the brain. You've got the time. Don't tell me you don't have the time
because I will guarantee you that you're on social media two to three hours a day. And I will
guarantee you that you're watching mindless television at least another two to three hours a week.
And if you just take that time and you apply it towards information gathering and then action
taking on that information, you will develop the outcome that you want.
So why not you?
You can change your life.
You can change the life of the people that you support in a most positive way.
You can become rich and famous and successful.
So why not you?
And I think it's easy for most people.
to come up with that first why, as in I'm doing this for my family.
I'm doing this because I don't want to die early.
I'm doing this for the people that I care for.
And the more specific you can be on that, why, the more likely you are to achieve that goal.
But that second question to ask yourself, why not me?
I think this is where people begin to get self-defeated.
Well, I don't think I'm smart enough.
I don't think I have what it takes.
I don't have enough time.
I don't have the support.
I don't have the money.
It's easy to come up with reasons.
Let's just call it what it is.
excuses, it's not so easy to have that discipline to put the phone down and stop scrolling on
social media and instead study what you need to study to develop the knowledge, to take the
action to produce the desired goal on your outcome, right?
How beautiful would that be?
It's too easy to say that, you know, this, my family's always been broke, we're going to
stay broke, we've always been fat, we've always been dumb, we've always been whatever, right?
And I used to be that guy.
I get it.
I recognize that guy.
I'm a immigrant to this country.
I didn't speak English well.
I had to lose the weight because I was a fat kid.
I had to learn entrepreneurship.
I got ADD and OCD.
The Anaheim Union High School District back in fourth grade, fifth grade,
diagnosed me with ADD and OCD.
Fantastic.
And I didn't know what those meant other than, hey, here, take these pills.
And they put me on Ritalin.
And so I was all.
hopped up on Ritalin as a young boy, and I felt like there was something wrong with me.
I realize now the ADD and the OCD can become superpowers.
Any adversity that you have in life can become a superpower, right?
It's just reframing it.
How do you look at it?
And so the why not you question is important.
So ask yourself, why not you?
Why not you?
Why can't you achieve the goals?
You're worthy.
You have the brain.
You have the time.
You have the access to the information.
you know exactly how to take action you do you're hungry you find food right you're sleepy you find your
bed you find a way to pay your bills i know how you know how to put one step in front of the other
and you do the same thing here my friend and when you do you start achieving those goals and you know
what really happens when you start achieving those goals momentum there's something beautiful about goal
momentum you achieve a small goal it allows you to achieve a bigger goal you get to the bigger goal you get to the
you get a much bigger goal. Before you know what you've got so much confidence in yourself
that you do what you say you're going to do, you start achieving multiple goals at a time. And this is
what I want for you. Because as I said in the beginning, God did not put your here on this planet
to just get by, to just survive, to just provide. You may have other goals in your mind and your
heart. And I don't know what that is. I don't know if it's business, if it's health, if it's
relationships, if it's personal development, you want to write a book, you want to start a podcast,
You want to become a comedian and crack some jokes.
Man, I'm 51.
I turn 52 next week.
And I have goals in my heart that I still want to achieve.
New goals because I'm a new phase of life.
And I'm going to use this exact strategy because God did not put me here by mistake to just get by.
He didn't do that for you either.
He put a goal in your heart.
I know it's scary.
And he put the desire for a purpose and meaning.
in your heart as well to motivate you to start attacking that goal. And now you know what the next
two steps are. Why do you want to achieve this goal? And why not you? And if you're willing to do that,
you will win in life, my friend. You'll face adversity. You will suffer. You will deal with challenges.
People will ridicule you and they will ask, why are you doing this? When's enough, enough?
I remember someone asking me.
Bezos, you hit over 500 Fit Body Boot Camp locations now.
I saw you in the Inc. 5,000 magazine.
Like you hit Inc. 5,000.
And the next year, he hit Inc. 500.
When's enough enough? He asked me.
I was sitting at a Starbucks.
I remember it's so clearly.
I was sitting at a Starbucks.
And he goes, when's enough enough enough?
He was like a...
His kids went to school with my kids.
And he worked in, I don't know, some kind of accounting, bookkeeping job.
Pretty arrogant prick now that I think about it.
And I remember thinking like, when's enough enough?
I don't know, man.
Like, I don't know.
And I started to question myself.
Am I greedy?
Am I just so driven that I'm missing out on things in my life?
Well, now I fast forward 10, 12 years.
That's about how long ago that was, that conversation.
My daughter's 18.
My son is 20.
They're both freaking studs.
I'm healthy.
I'm happy.
Got great businesses.
Awesome friends.
And all of this.
is a byproduct of constantly locking in on my goals, while also making time for the people
that I value.
You can do both, you know.
We're very talented as humans when we begin to prioritize and execute, as Jocko says in his book.
And so, friends, I want to see you win.
Go out and win.
And when you do, I want you to pay it forward to others.
And always remember this, that average is the enemy.
Success is your responsibility.
And change can take place in an instant if you are well.
willing to flip the switch. I'll see you next time.
