Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back to another episode of the Belly Up podcast presented by Hoot Charlie Farming we love it. Hey everybody how we doing? We feeling good today? Huh? I'm feeling good. I'm feeling great I'm a backslide tight. Is it yeah? When when you sit in the bar so for three days straight You know make sure you're getting up Walking around a little bit. Maybe I'll have you stretch me out after this. Well, the stretching's kind of something you do
Starting point is 00:00:29 in your own free time. No, you can help me out. I'll watch you stretch. Okay. Oh, I realize that that was a little frisky. I didn't mean it like that, but yeah, you got to stretch that back out. You got to do, maybe we'll do yoga together.
Starting point is 00:00:45 What do you think? I don't think we will. No, have you ever, when was the last time you did yoga? Probably in college. Yeah, I put college football so there was mandatory yoga sometimes. Oh, you can't do it on your own accord. What's wrong?
Starting point is 00:00:58 No, I kind of just choose not to. I've done it before. Yeah, it's just, yeah, I kind of like it. Not in my repertoire. I kind of like yoga. I don't think anyone looks at me and goes, that guy does yoga. Yeah, you know, I like when it gets really hot in a room You know, I like that. I like that. I like that. That's because you're skinny. I mean, we've talked about you don't spend any time being hot or sweating So you want to sweat
Starting point is 00:01:19 Yeah, we've talked about this novelty when you spend all day being hot sweaty. The last thing you want to do is go get more hot and sweaty. So that's why I don't eat little Caesars pizza either. Oh, that's hot sweaty as well. Yeah, it is. Oh wait, I mean hot and ready. Sorry. Hot and ready. Hot and sweaty. That was funny. That was a good joke. It was good. Dress worked in my little Ca, Jeff. Yeah, he got it. Yeah. Test ended out. Oh, yeah. Um, they liked it at the bar, too. No, again, just like last episode, we are here at the foggy do bar.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Here in the walkie do. Um, we're in a house. We are. Well, we're in someone's house. Here to, yeah, let's look around. What, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, Well, we're in someone's house. Here's one. Yeah, let's look around. What a point out some stuff you think that really tie the room together. OK, well, I like this little tiny stained glass lamp
Starting point is 00:02:14 that's over there. Beautiful. They just don't make tiny stained glass lamp shades like that anymore. The stained glass industry has really gone, you know, struggled for ever since they stopped building all these churches. Yeah, they built them all and then they built them too good to redo them.
Starting point is 00:02:32 They planned obsolescence in the stained glass. Yeah, so maybe we can be a pro stained glass podcast for that industry. I like that. There's nothing better than a bar with stained glass. I agree. Usually it's a bar. They should be like you're at It used actually used to be a church many times, you know. Yeah. Well, it's the church of good times. Church of good times. Hey, I was saying church different peel, you know. Yeah. I like there's a fesant flask behind the camera right now. Like a little
Starting point is 00:03:00 if you confirmed that that is a flask. I think so. I think it's like one of those old time. So do you drink out of the tail favor? You pop off the head. You have to have the, oh, through the head. Pop off. Is that a flask? Can you confirm that? Yeah, let's take a look at that sucker.
Starting point is 00:03:17 OK, so, oh, how this is cool. Just twist it. Well, get that. Oh, it's a flask. I see. I knew I could. I thought it was just ornamental, but look at you. It is ornamental. Oh, and's just a flash. See, I knew I could. I thought it was just ornamental, but like, it is ornamental.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Oh, and that's a little, let's see what it smells like. Oh, no, that, that's cologne. Oh, smell that, that's, don't drink that, Charles. That smells like your grandpa right there. Oh, wow. I just flashed back there. Like, you know the break cologne. You know, they just don't make
Starting point is 00:03:45 Cologne bottles like they used to. It just don't honestly. Okay, actually, that is a great. Do you know how many guys would buy that Cologne if they, if that was the container? Are you going to start making them? I think I might, I think it just got a billion dollar idea. Yeah. Steal from this Cologne company. And all you have to do is kind of Cologne it is. It's brute. Yeah, I know it. It's brute is like only a clone your grandfather where yeah, that was pungent. I it's still it's still in my nose. It's the only colon that would like take away the smell of like of every
Starting point is 00:04:18 all the cigarettes are grandpa's were smoking. Yeah, I now understand that back when it was a health food. Yes. SIGARETS. That's pretty cool. I guess I've never seen a Cologne bottle that looks like a fesent. I know. Now you have it. What does it say?
Starting point is 00:04:34 It says on the bottom, it says, Avaan. Avaan. Regardless, I'm really glad you didn't try and drink out of that because that would have been. That's what that was my next move there Avon Avon 8 Avon 8th fesent Cologne. I don't know if Avon is the glass maker the Cologne maker, but we can figure that out later Okay, anywhere are you ready for another nice episode of the I think I am yeah
Starting point is 00:05:02 Anything you want to get off your chest before we do the podcast or what would I want to get off my chest asking you is there anything? Well, now that gas. Yes, there is. What is it? I felt very hurt by you yesterday when I did what? When? Which one?
Starting point is 00:05:26 When I, I bit my lip. Yes. Because I was overly hungry and drew some blood and you left. You didn't say are you okay? Well, I was not okay. I would like to personally apologize here on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Let me see the lip. How's it looking? Hey, you're covering it up with your hand. I don't really, no, I literally don't see it anywhere. It's healed. It was bloody yesterday, but it's not today. So I think you're fine. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:00 I took back the, I'm sorry. That was. Yeah, you're right. Yeah. Okay. Well, that was all that was out my chest. So I'm glad we dirt on it. I'm sorry. That was, yeah, you're right. Yeah. Okay. Well, that was all that was out my chest. So I'm glad we talked about it. Well, I was, that was on your lip, but, and I specifically asked what was on your chest,
Starting point is 00:06:13 but, oh, a shirt. It's okay. I don't know, here. Can you get that at man to walk minute.com? No, it's just a black t-shirt, but you can get one with other stuff on it, right? Yeah, man to walk minute.com. Yeah. I survived the Midwest goodbye. We just came out with that shirt.
Starting point is 00:06:27 And you got that nice, you bet you shirt. Where can we get that? What does it say on the back? It says, you'll have that on these bigger jobs. Oh, it's a construction theme shirt. Yeah, so you got to go to all youbetsho.com, ohhhubetho.com. You guys are so sure.
Starting point is 00:06:42 You guys are very creative. Let's get into some colors let's do it. So what's going on? Who do we got on the line? We got Danny back at Danny. How's it going Danny? Well it could be better Charlie. Oh no what happened deal ball and chain got a test positive for COVID last night. The old ball and chain got a test positive for COVID last night. Ah, she tested positive for COVID. So therefore you tested positive for COVID? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:11 I tested negative, but we are, we're quarantining. So I needed some advice. Okay. That's why we're here. For the audience of the part, maybe. Yeah. What do you need? Well, we're working in the same room. So that's kind of.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Well, is that her yelling in the background? Yeah, that's her. Is she mad at you right now? Oh, I don't think so. I think she's just. So what do you get? What advice are you looking for then? Just how to not want to kill each other at the end of it. Basically, right? Aren't you guys in love? Yeah. I'm not sure if you're
Starting point is 00:07:40 going to have a chance to kill each other at the end of the day. Aren't you guys in love? Yeah. But the other side of love is wanting to kill each other once in a while. Can we put her on the line? Yeah, let's talk to
Starting point is 00:08:04 her. I want her on the line? Yeah, let's talk to her. Oh, she can want you on the line, babe. She's in a meeting at war. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. This is more important. Come on. Tell her that you tell her to tell them
Starting point is 00:08:15 that she has another meeting she's got to get to. Yeah. This is a meeting. Oh, yeah. Here's a, here's a, let's tell your job that you have a more important meeting. Yeah, we got a little gig a lot of her. See, there we go. We just sold it.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Yeah, that is it. We just bring together. Do you guys have a show on Netflix? You can watch together. Can you Netflix? Oh, you know what I mean? You guys are, you guys are, you know what I mean? You guys are you guys are you know together. So you know, if there's a Netflix show, you know, what goes along with Netflix? Popcorn. And maybe popcorn. You can have together.
Starting point is 00:08:55 You could do the popcorn trick. That brings a lot of smiles. I actually always wanted to try the popcorn trick. So we need the popcorn. Wait, what's a popcorn trick? Oh, would you like to explain to Charlie what the popcorn trick is? Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. So you know, you're at the movie theater, right? Oh, is this a Willie in the popcorn box?
Starting point is 00:09:22 Come on, it's a family show. Oh, you know, I'm upset with you guys. I'm losing in poll tabs right now. And you're talking about putting you silly sausages in the popcorn. And I'm not happy about it. Don't do that. Okay. Well, I guess you could. I mean, you guys are you crazy kids are married. If that spices it up, then sure. Yeah. Would she be into that? Well, we don't need the, I think so, but we don't need to, we don't need to hide it with the popcorn, bold and report. Yeah, but it's more of like a, it's a role play thing, right?
Starting point is 00:09:59 Yeah. But then you're at the movies. You know, you're being a little naughty. You should be doing that. I'm a theater. Yeah. And then one thing leads to another. So get the drill out and put a nice big or moderate size toll on the part that make them a perfect edge is now. Oh, that sounds good. Mr. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer.
Starting point is 00:10:29 I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think that's the answer. I think what's gonna happen. Yeah. When you introduce blankets into the moukel's hanky, panky.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Yeah. Yeah. Mm. So why don't you guys just not work in the same room as the question I got for you? Yeah, I'll fix the house. I mean, it's not huge.
Starting point is 00:10:59 The problem is that's how we got to set up. And I don't know if I want to just move it all around just for a couple of days. But I love how the quarantine, the suggested quarantine now in COVID's like five days. Yeah. And you're literally wondering how you're going to get through five days of spending time with only your wife.
Starting point is 00:11:18 That is. Yeah. Well, that's not the way you know you're in this for life, right? Yeah. But that's not the way you know, you know, you're in this for life, right? Yeah. But that's not the way we as a species were brought up, you know, biologically, we were made to go chase saber tooth tigers. And then when we didn't get eaten, we'd come home and we'd be so happy to see our significant other because we didn't get eaten. And back then it wasn't the popcorn trick. It was the, it was the pebble trick.
Starting point is 00:11:49 They gave me eight pebbles, I think pebbles and berries. There's a nuts and berries. Oh, yeah, gathering hunting and gathering. So yeah, a little messier in blackberries. But anyway, I think, I think the real advice here is just keep it light. Maybe get a go get a dad joke book and just whip those out every time that the tension gets a little little a little high. And then I think I'll get you through the quarantine. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the hey, do you want the solution or you just want to be heard? Right, right. And I think you just want to be heard. And we hear you, man, we've been in this scenario before. We have stay strong. Um, yeah, she's coughing up a storm. I get it. It's annoying. Um, but you're in love. Remember that you are in love.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Silence. Good. All right. Yeah. He's really to know, no confirming it at all. We let him down. Yeah. I'm not sure if you're going to get the right. Silence good. Yeah. He's really no no
Starting point is 00:13:08 confirming in it all. We let him down. That's all right. Hey, you'll make it through. We'll make it through. I've got 20 episodes to listen to.
Starting point is 00:13:16 I'm looking forward to the Patriot under tomorrow. So get me through it. Hell yeah. We got to actually that reminds me we got to record that reminds me. We got to record that, cheers. Thanks for reminding us.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Yeah, you may not have it tomorrow after all. All right. Oh, I was going to say one last thing, Charlie. Listen to that Greg Gardiner. Yeah, that's really good. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I had coach of UW men's basketball.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Is that on the Krebscast? That's on the Krebscast. I can find Krebscast. We're all podcasting. We shall see you next year. Yeah, I had coach of UW men's basketball. That's on the Cripes cast. You can buy Cripes cast. We're in a role podcast. We've been to radio. We also have you bet your radio patreon patreon.com slash a bit of radio. You got a Cripes cast patreon too.
Starting point is 00:13:54 I forget what the website is. But it's probably a patron.com slash Cripes cast probably or just Charlie Barons. I forget. Anyway, thanks for listening to that. I appreciate you. Yeah, of course. But all right guys, I'll let you guys go. And No, watch out for your wife, Coffin.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Yeah, watch out for this blast on hope you don't get that COVID again. All right. All right. I'm good. Cheers, man. Bye. Bye now. All right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, man. You talk about a guy who is in utter defeat. I mean, that was, it felt like I was at a funeral. Yeah. It did. He was like, yeah, she's got COVID and now we gotta hang out together. And so what's the problem, friend? Yeah. Just silence. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:44 How many awkward silences were in that call? Yeah, I know. I know. Yeah. She seemed to be in good spirits. She was laughing. She was having a good time. Well, it's just upsetting.
Starting point is 00:14:54 It's because he can't go to the bar. Yeah, he's upset that he can't be like moan the lawn or something. Well, you can moan the lawn if you have COVID. Are you kidding me? Why isn't he, that's the advice we should have. We always think of the best advice after the deal All right, well, yeah, maybe we'll call him back later. Yeah Hey
Starting point is 00:15:13 Welcome to the belly-up podcast We got on the one Hi, how you doing long time with your first time caller. It's Kurt Jacob fun Kurt Jacob sin. How you doing Kurt? I'm good. I'm out here in Eastern South Dakota building pole barns. Pole barns. Tell us about what kind of pole barns you got out there these days. Oh, Jesus. I tell you why I'll build you any kind of pole barn you want.
Starting point is 00:15:38 I've been doing for about 37 years now. Thirty seven years building pole barns. Now talk to me about how the technology's improved in the last 37 years. Yeah, the same as it. They they they they get some new thing about drag every single year trying to make these pole barns better, but I tell you what about the end of the day, yes, some poles and the ground
Starting point is 00:16:02 of some scale. That's all you need. Just make sure the water runs downhill. Really? So, that is important to know the water thing. Yeah. You don't want to be. I'm a concrete guy.
Starting point is 00:16:14 You got to make sure everything runs to the drain and the garage. You don't want that. Yeah. Pulling up in the corners. And away from your foundation. Just keep the water away from your foundation. Everything going to the center now. Are you making good money around this? Oh, well, you know, you can make good money. That's the thing.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Those young guys, they just don't want to work. Yeah. Well, millennials, just say doesn't want to work. Why do you think they don't want to work. Why do you think they don't want to work? Why do you think they have soft hands? There's just, you know, there's too many opportunities out there with these tick chalks and stuff that they think they got in a trance out at the Charlie Little Most of them ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:58 That shifts the truth of them all. And I tell you what, you only find a good employee. You get one of them in base. Fresh out of prison. They got a call. They're going to have to work every single day because they got that ankle monitor. They have to. They have to.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Yeah. Someone drops them off every day. Who is the employee of the month right now? That's going to be, that's going to be, uh, that's going to be Ricky. How, where's Ricky from? Oh, I think he's from, uh, northern Minnesota somewhere. Well, they pulled him out of the pan here in Sioux Falls. What, uh, what was you acting for?
Starting point is 00:17:40 What was Ricky laughing for? I think with a car jacking. Oh, jacked.ed you know what hard to tell you what he's He's a real handy guy. Well, I mean he jacked a car. He's probably pretty What do you like to do for fun? It's a lot of work talk. What do you do for fun over there in South Dakota? Oh, gee, they're a little bit of trappin' on the fall. You know, just walk around and raccoons and singas like that. But I show you what's the first price to just think what they used to bring. Oh, what's a good raccoon pelt go for these days?
Starting point is 00:18:15 RG is back in the 90s. He's good $25 for him with something like that. But these days, you're lucky to get eight. Eight? Well, eight bucks. What's going on? What made the raccoon pelp market crash so hard? It's all them pedas.
Starting point is 00:18:30 It's all them pedas. Oh, the pedas, geez. They start what? You can't walk around the street with a nice raccoon fleece anymore. What's, you know, see everybody's okay with going to the store and buying meat, but they don't want to know where it came from. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:48 I mean, I hear that. Yeah. And now, do you ever, you know, you trapped the raccoon, obviously, you're selling the pelts. Do you make anything with the meat yourself? Oh, just a little better, jerky, you know, just to hydrate it, my garage there. I know you like to be left too. Yeah. I I heard you're this pretty good, you're pocket green. Long time he's a fan, you know. Yeah, I'll try you what we listen, you on the
Starting point is 00:19:14 onto the job site there when we get the time, you know, sit down with a couple of eight-er-ades and some monsters and turn on the old bellies of lock-ass watcher-few. You back Travertios. Well, we appreciate you watching, man. That's awesome. monster the turn on the old belly dot com watch a few you back to the other else we appreciate you watching man that's awesome yeah no you know you're telling us all this great stuff you're doing can we give you any advice yes oh geez oh there we go couple of young bucks trying to give the old guy advice. Okay, what are you got? What are you got? Let's hear it. No, what if you have any, you know, problems in your life that maybe we could shed some light on, maybe help you out with? You got anything? Oh, geez. Well, where did I start?
Starting point is 00:19:58 Is this one thing after another? I got a couple of kids heading off a college and career did just don't make sense. And now me and the old wife are at home, just the two of us and empty nesters and just trying to fill the time, you know, just fill the time between fights, you know, just other love to re-park, re-kindle the flight. Oh, okay, oh, how do how deep this is a good question so here's what you're gonna want to do
Starting point is 00:20:27 you're gonna want to go to the movie theater you're gonna want to get a bucket of popcorn and you're gonna want to do the popcorn trick oh you know what the popcorn trick is I know where the popcorn trick is I've been on the third for a few, few years. They were fell.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Yeah, I saw what my wife's not even working in her. She doesn't like butter. She does. Oh, she does. She sounds like a great guy. Yeah. Oh, she is. She really is. And I just, I appreciate the hell out of her, but I tell you, watch it sometimes.
Starting point is 00:21:09 It's a sound of her voice, just. What? It drives me crazy, you know, or just not always in a healthy way. Let me ask you this. Do you ever watch this guy on the internet? It's, he's okay. Do dad and sometimes he dresses up as his wife. Oh, my wife is always sending me his shot. And what do you think of him? Well, she sure seems to like him. I think he's
Starting point is 00:21:41 okay. It's nice. It keeps her busy. He's got someone someone's that's but he's not good with you guys. Are there any that you don't like? Any of his videos that you don't like? Oh, let's see here. I mean, I do think it's weird that he's always dressing up like it's why I see it all. I think that's a little bit much. Does it kind of make you wonder sometimes? And I do. It's hard for me to trust a guy that can't grow facial hair. Yeah, that'll happen. Well, it's a little weird how many different wigs he's got, too, right?
Starting point is 00:22:23 I mean, you got a whole Romanist house. Yeah. Yeah, he just got a wonder what happens behind the scenes there. Yeah, I mean, who wears, who wears the pants in that relationship? Camera too. Who wears the pants in that relationship is really what you got to wonder. Well, based on the fact of how many kids they got, I don't think you want them work, man. Do you think I kind of riff back? Here's what here's what I'm curious about. I just heard that they are having their fourth child 4-0 4 Yeah, They don't wear pants, do they? No. And I do. I have to
Starting point is 00:23:06 wonder was one of which child? You know, one, one of the four was conceived. Wow. He was wearing the wig and I'm just curious which one. Oh, really? Yeah. Well, what do you think? Well, I think if you're thinking about that, then you might have a cereal problem. I think if you're thinking about that, then you might have a serial problem. You might want to dig into your own. You've been thinking about dude dead, and his wig having an intercourse with his wife. Well, I mean, now that you say it like that,
Starting point is 00:23:34 I guess you have to say that. Exactly what you said. Okay, got it. Okay, well, all right, at this point, I mean, I guess we've already married. I guess whatever gets you halfway, you know? All right, so listen, so you know pull Barnes okay
Starting point is 00:23:50 I'm doing a garage except that the different frame is just pulled in the ground Okay, so I'm doing pull tabs right now while I'm talking to you what advice as a pull guy what advice do you have for the Is there anything that translates from pole barns to pole taps? Well, it's not a pole barn. It's a pole barn Charlie Yeah, I know I know that and this is a pole tab because it's shaped like a part of a pole. Oh, okay It's a bit of a thing about pole barns the more you do them better you get out of them That's about pole tap that the more you do them, the better you get at them. That's about poll tab that the more you do them, the more broke you get.
Starting point is 00:24:28 Well, unless you know how to invest in a right market. And tell eventually, eventually you hit, and you go back to neutral, and you start feeling pretty good about yourself again, and that's when you get sucked right back in. But you know what, guys? Did you say suck? It's not about the destination.
Starting point is 00:24:47 It's about the journey with the whole task. Don't get stuck on being down on pole task, but it's about the journey not the destination. Well, it's a long-term investment. Just keep pulling. And that's what you've been doing for 30 some on years. You just kept pulling. There are seven years. Just keep pulling. And that's what you've been doing for 30 some on years. You just get a whole seven years. Just keep pulling them. Yeah. Well, thank you so much. The dad and the Barnes keep pulling them. Just start what else would we just
Starting point is 00:25:16 keep yanking no matter what? No matter what? What life is like? Just make sure you keep yanking and keep yanking until something comes out. Well, it's got. Yeah. He's always got one more tab on the other side. All right, Kurt, well, we're sorry. We couldn't, you know, provide you with any more advice. And thank you for yours. We appreciate you. So we'll talk to you soon.
Starting point is 00:25:37 OK. Good. Good. You have a whole long guys. Hold on. Let me get my, get my nasty to say a heart. Uh, sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Yeah. OK. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Is he one of those guys that was in the the pen and you hired him or what yeah, no, no you the strike shooter Okay, no, come on here. Oh, man How do you keep the classroom from not smelling too bad with all those middle schoolers running around? There's there's no way to do that That's an impossible to ask. Yeah, I can feel that that's Yeah, that's an impossible to ask. Yeah, I can feel that. Those kids come in from lunch, they come in from outside. It's a whole different order. Yeah, they're at that age where some aren't sure
Starting point is 00:31:54 if they should be wearing deodorant yet. I remember that. I was a later dafter to the deodorant game. That was you, you wanted to smell like a guy. I was just smelling like a guy. I'm glad you learned. You smell good today, Charles. Not that I saved you. I actually didn't put the order in on today, so give it an hour. We're already off track. Yeah, Nick, now that you're off work, why don't you billy up to the bar with us? Tell us what's on your mind. Yeah. Yeah, you know, that's what I'm
Starting point is 00:32:23 going to do. I actually had to pick up my girl right now. I got a little two year old. The head of her. That's cute. And then, um, then I had home pretty nice day here in Ohio. Um, belly up out in the pool, actually, with a cold. Oh, boy. Oh, right. Nick is living life. He isn't showing. I think I want to be a teacher in Ohio. I got Get off work early. He's hang by the pool with his beautiful baby girl, you know two years old the terrible twos But I bet you put her in the pool and it is terrible to go around yeah, yeah, what a lucky guy you are Terrible to his boat right away slow right away I'm running to think you don't need any advice. I think you just have it all you have it made There's the way you got any problems going on. We're gonna start asking you what is good.
Starting point is 00:33:08 You better figure it out. Well, we do, but I think they're the way you're saying that. I think there might be a dark turn in next future. What's going on Nick? Why'd you call in? You know, no, no, doctor. And I actually had a question for you. I was wondering, you know, I've been watching you
Starting point is 00:33:25 You guys account for a while. I got some of your merchandise. I actually got the boys or fuzz flag hanging out by my pool right now That's awesome. I'm sheaid a man It's okay. I had a question for you. I guess I was just wanting to know how you guys started off. Oh Okay, I'll let Charlie go first. No, he's got your flag hanging up my right. Why don't you go for sure? Yeah, all right. Should I interview you? Yeah, sure. Okay, so miles. How did you get your start in all this? Well, you know, my buddy Mark Zuckerberg heard of him. Yeah, I basically paid him off to start pushing my videos on his platform. And you really were you one of those guys? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:06 No, I'm just kidding. So I started off doing some video content as a marketing freelance marketing guy. We had a air quotes marketing business, which just met me and another guy ran around town and convinced people to let us run their social media. So that's a marketing business. How many clients did you have? At one point we probably had like six at one time. Nice. Do you see him? Six clients. But so anyway, so I started doing social media content and stuff through there and I kind of thought of an idea that hey, it'd be cool if there was a
Starting point is 00:34:41 page that celebrated the Midwest and I turned the camera around one day, shot a couple videos and it got lucky enough to have a video blow up on Facebook and kind of just been figuring it out ever since. Yeah. What was the video? It was bush light versus spotted cow. Just fitting because we're in the land of a spot. We are in Wisconsin. He likes it. He's a Spotted Cal fan. You should go watch Miles this video. I think we're gonna have to yeah, I don't think I think we're gonna have to put that Boys are buzzing flag at half mass You know what I was I got a garage bridge a basement bridge fridge, and a kitchen fridge, and they all got bush light.
Starting point is 00:35:26 Yeah, never mind. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Wow. That is important. You guys. I do got a neighbor down the road. He's from Wisconsin.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Yeah. He brings us a spotted cow back occasionally. He's a saint is what he is. No, let me, you got three fridges. Let me just get some facts on the ground. You got three fridges, a pool, and you're a teacher. What drugs are you selling on the side, friend? A little Walter White situation.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Yeah. And he's a science teacher. Bad. He's a science teacher. I know. Lucky enough to marry. I got lucky enough to marry beautiful and smart, so she has a great job. Oh, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Again, you are living our dream. Yeah, you're living the life, my fellow. You are literally living the dream. Yeah, good on you. Congratulations to you. And then I'll tell you how I got my start and see you still. Yeah, Charlie, why don't you tell us your start? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:23 Yeah, I was doing a stand up and I had one bit take off based off my timing local news. And it was where I like it talked with the next. What was the bit? It was just a bit about my timing local news. We're instead of taking all the things people said I was doing wrong and changing them. I took all the things people said I was doing wrong. I doubled down on them. And that did well in the clubs. And there was this one guy in the club one night who was laughing. I said, where are you from? I used for a man at walk. And that was a guy named the man to walk minute after.
Starting point is 00:36:51 I put out the first one, not thinking I put out a second one, but the video took off. So then I put out more and more. Then I started doing sketch stuff. And then I'm, then I met Miles and my life has never been the same since. And he didn't say whether that's good or bad. You're too bad. How is it that we met? We were so we're at a bar.
Starting point is 00:37:12 No, we're at a bar and we locked eyes from across. Hmm. I said to the bartender. I said, that guy's kind of cute. Can you send down a Wisconsin fashion? Yeah. Wisconsin all fashioned sent it down there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:28 He waltzed his body over to me. Then we waltzed a little bit. We were at a separate club, by the way. We did a little dancing and then from a little 30 dancing and then. It was history. We started making YouTube videos after that. Yeah. And it did go videos after that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:45 And it did go just like that. Yeah. No, that's not true. Here's what really happened. Miles went into my team. No, you slid into my DMs. We should actually go and look. We should go look.
Starting point is 00:37:57 We gotta figure that out. We'll do that in the break. Yeah, we'll do that. So that's our story. You know, but do you think you can, I mean, what do you think of the story? No, I think that sounds like that sounds realistic. The whole gazing eyes from across the bar. I think that's all right.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Yeah. Yeah. I think Charlie, what we need to start doing is like the Joker on Batman, the dark night when he keeps saying, you wanna know how I got these scars and he tells a different story every time? Oh, a different story of how we met every time. Every time we say how we met,
Starting point is 00:38:31 we gotta come up with a story. I like that, I like that. So for all you other collars, ask us how we met. Well, we'll figure it out. The real story of how I met your Midwest father. Yeah, yeah. It'll be somewhere in between the stories.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Yeah, there will be a piece of truth in every single story. Hey, go. Yeah, well, thanks for calling in. We appreciate you and have fun floating in your pool. Yes, I will do that. I appreciate it, guys. Cool to talk to you. Cool to talk to you. Let's call it in man. Yeah. Tell your wife and daughter. We says hi. I will do that as well. All right, real good. Talk soon.
Starting point is 00:39:15 I mean, he's literally living the dream. Yeah. Where do we mess up along the way, Charlie? Well, my grandpa always said, Mary Rich the first time. The second time can be for who often. You know?
Starting point is 00:39:32 Oh, that's a good lie. Give me a lot of good wisdom. He said, meet them inside by the popcorn stand when you go to the movies. And I might, why would I do that? He's like, then you don't have to pay for the goddamn ticket. Give him my, my grandpa married at 21 for 60 years, something like that. That's a long time.
Starting point is 00:39:57 Yeah. And then I was like, Grandpa, you didn't, why didn't you do it? He's like, I screwed up. She lied to me. Told me she was rich and then, ah, damn it. Yeah. Sounds like a good, good guy though. He's a good guy and he says that and then my grandma Sue's sitting right there and she
Starting point is 00:40:14 says it. Yeah, slap some. Actually, one of my earliest memories is of my grandma and grandpa sitting on the pier in Fondelac and my grandma slapped him on the leg and says, why did I ever marry you? And I was like, oh, no, grandma and grandpa. Well, to get divorced, right here. They get divorced. And then I just realized, no, that's love. That is love.
Starting point is 00:40:38 Yeah. To constantly be questioning that. You do. And very wholesome. It is nice. It's nice. This is the wholesome belly it up episode, I think. It really is. Yeah, talking about it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:40:51 I'm excited with your dog. All that. Yeah. You ever pee with your dog? I don't have a dog, Charlie, and we established that. All right, take another call. Well, it was nice for Dude Daddy to stop on by the podcast. I didn't know that he had an uncle Curtis that was calling in Well, it was nice for dude daddy to stop on by the podcast. I didn't
Starting point is 00:41:05 know that he had an uncle Curtis. That was yeah, calling in. So that was a nice, you know, the pole pole barn and the pole tabs and a lot of pulling going on and, you know, I bet you I bet you uncle Kurt wore this cologne. Oh, I bet you uncle Kurt wore cologne coming out of a glass. He probably left that back in your 37 years ago. He probably did. I that's what you bring it with. And we get it back to him. It should. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:30 I'm no, it was nice for dude dad to stop by. That was first. Okay. Hang out for a little while. He didn't stop by. Yeah. What he called it up to the bar with us. He fell to a pound.
Starting point is 00:41:41 He mentally bellied up to the bar, mentally with us. And congrats to him on his congrats. Child congrats on the sex. It's starting to get to be though where your bragging now, the how much sex you're having.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Yeah. Yeah. It's maybe cool on the bragging about the sex. All right. It's cool. We get it. You have sex.
Starting point is 00:42:01 All right. Taylor. So, well, also congrats congrats to to him for in the family that'll be fun. And yeah, whatever you do, just try to get that visual out of your head of, I brought up the week. Yeah, I'm still working on getting that out of my head, but yeah, it's going to take a while. Time heals everything. Just look at the chia pet over there and just, I, yeah, I'm thinking about it again.
Starting point is 00:42:29 How I'm thinking Taylor with a chia pet wig. I'm having his fifth kid. Yeah. All right. Well, that's about the time. I'll bely up on bely up places. You just Google it and pops up and. Oh, the Cribs cast and you bet you radio.
Starting point is 00:42:49 And let Taylor know you're glad that he stopped by. Yeah, and his uncle stopped by Uncle Curtis. Send him a message him and curative. All right, guys, make sure as always, you tip your bartender and we'll see you in the next one. Bye-bye. and we'll see you in the next one. Bye-bye.
