Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back, everybody, to another episode of the bellied up podcast. Me and Charlie are bellied up here at Black Forest in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, having a couple two tree. And Charlie, I was driving for Fargo here. I was driving from Fargo all the way to Three Lakes. And I don't know if you've picked up on this or not, but now apparently you can get an option for a black license plate. Have you seen those? Yeah, I've seen more black license plates. What's up with those?
Starting point is 00:00:32 Like you can pay extra money to get your, like a lights play. It's just black and white. So like it doesn't matter what state you're in or whatever state to abide by it. Like the Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, black lights plate all look the same. They just have the different state on top, which one I don't really like because I like to know which state people are from. You got to get really close to these guys to know what state they're driving. You're just tailgating people trying to figure out what state they're in? No, but you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:01:03 I haven't seen these license plates yet. I know because you're too busy thinking about doing other stuff. You're not living in the road. You're too busy texting and driving. I do not text and drive, Miles. I do not text and drive. I don't believe in it, Miles. Don't believe in it.
Starting point is 00:01:21 You are not focused. Your hands are not at 10 and 2 if you're that focused on license plates. What are you a cop? Well, you're an arc miles. I mean, what I also notice is that in North Dakota, every license plate for a long time started with GAR. So all the black license plates started with GAR. And then only recently that I start seeing other ones,
Starting point is 00:01:43 but they all just still do start with G. All the North Dakota plates start with G. I feel like you told me that at one point. What? The black ones. Yes. They start with G? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Why? I don't know. I don't know. How would I know that? How would I? Oh, how would you know? I know that. Where you like are Wikipediaing it like while you're driving, you know, or Jared's driving.
Starting point is 00:02:11 You're not looking it up. You have no interest. Let's look it up now. This is just not the direction. I wanted this to go. Oh, I'm sorry. Let's go in your direction. I'm a passenger in your car while you're looking at license plates.
Starting point is 00:02:24 What's going on? Where do you want to take this? Well, I was just going to. going to see what you thought of the idea of, you know, because I have a feeling like at some point we're just going to get that every license plate is going to be the black and white version. You think? I don't know. I've seen a lot of them out there.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Is it, is it just a trend or is it a mandate by the state? It's not a mandate. You got to pay extra for it, but it's catching on like wildfire. Oh, you got to pay extra for less colors? What are we doing? It's, it's, it sucks. Can you imagine those guys. in prison making those license plates.
Starting point is 00:02:59 And they're like, what is up with all the black and whites now? Yeah. I don't know. It's, I don't know. I think it like, if you got a cool car and it's black, I could see it. You know, like Jared's got, you got the black license plate, right? I was going to get it, but then I found out it was like 30 bucks a year. $30 a year?
Starting point is 00:03:18 It's a subscription for this license plate. And I chickened out. I thought it was like, yeah. That's insane. It would look great, but whatever. I can't. You got a blue one, but that's just a one-time deal and you own that plate. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Yeah, you're not $30 a year? What is it, Netflix subscription? Yeah. Why the hell are people doing that? And then you got, you know, all sorts of conspiracies, why they even offer it is like the flock cameras or whatever can read it easier if it's black and white. I did, I did search that up. And it seems to be that that that's not the main reason why they did it.
Starting point is 00:03:56 but I also didn't see that that's not the reason why they did it. Dude, those Flock cameras creep me out. What's up with those? Why do we have those? Do you like those? The Flock cameras in Fargo, though, they just said, hey, we turned off the tracking feature. Oh, yeah. Just trust.
Starting point is 00:04:11 They said that the Flock camera can track you, but we just flip that setting off is what they said. Yeah, and I'm sure Flock, very reputable company isn't just going to scan that data if they can. But yeah. But that I was wondering, criminals, Miles, they're criminals. Like you don't have your own custom license plate. No. Like Dude dad does.
Starting point is 00:04:35 No, dude dad has a license plate that says do dude dad. And I've been with him in the car and he's like, oh, shoot. And he just, you know, when it is a yellow arrow that turns to a red and he just kind of hit it. I'm like, dude, this is the worst idea ever. And he's like, I know. I think he's acknowledged it. Yeah. But I was wondering if you were to get a custom license plate, Charlie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Let's say you run into some extra cash and you pay the extra money for the license plate. What would it be? It would be Miles G-Y. Miles's guy. That's me. Miles guy. Yeah. No one's going to get that. Well, that's just for me. I think I would get mine. I would say belly up. B-E-L-L-L-Y-U-P. That's good. Although it's not the name of our podcast.
Starting point is 00:05:27 No, I know. But it's funny because it's like, oh, he's going belly up. That is cute. That's cute. You know, you want to want to make a guy not excited about his idea anymore? Tell him it's cute. That's a cute idea. No, I think that the appropriately rate it, I do think it's also a cute idea.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Are you going to do it? No. Can you do a belly? Can you have a... I personally think custom license plates are just too much. Oh, really? You think they're too much to have a custom to spend that extra little time to just complete your car? You think that's too much? Did you hear that audience?
Starting point is 00:06:05 Did you hear that? Listeners with custom plates, Miles thinks you're too much. Okay. Wow. Who. Let me call dude daddy right now. Dude, dad, if you're listening, the custom lights play was too much. I think he would agree with that.
Starting point is 00:06:22 it's it's it's there's no advantage to having a custom license plate definitely too much unless you are like a used car salesman uh-huh you know like uh like on little giants remember that movie used car that'd be a great used car salesman license yeah seven out like every tesla i see that has a license plate about not needing gas makes me want to just you know punch a tesla driver god i'm learning so much about you in this intro segment here miles you really you're a license plate I've never noticed any Tesla license plate in my life. Yeah, like I saw one that just said gas L-O-L. Oh, so cute.
Starting point is 00:07:03 So cute. So cute. I have one response for that license plate. What is that? Just one response for that. Yeah, I got it. I do think it's cool. Like, if you got a Packer, Vanity Plate in Wisconsin, like, that's pretty cool to have that. Like, if you had, it just said Packer on it.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Right. Or like Minnesota. I don't want to have vikes on it or something. I think that's the exception of the law. You could go Packers. It's like, it's like Dane Cook's old joke that he got an email from a guy who got anonymous at hotmail.com. Like, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:07:35 He didn't have anonymous, 138, 4, 6, 5, 321 at Hotmail.com. He got anonymous at Hotmail.com, whether or not he actually did. I don't know. That's cool. If you're like, if you have, like, if you just had a license plate with just the number one and that's it, that's kind of cool. That's pretty sweet.
Starting point is 00:07:53 I don't think it's worth an annual subscription though. If I just had on Instagram had at Miles, that's cool. That's sick. If you just had at Charlie, that would be crazy. That would be insane. I would get so many followers just from other Charlies. Yeah, and then you could do a Charlie meetup. Charlie meetup would be cool.
Starting point is 00:08:15 I think we should do a Charlie and Miles meetup. And there'd be so many Charlies and like three miles. you have to have a Y as well. Yeah. Oh yeah. And they have to come together. They got to be Charlie and Miles. Yeah, it has to be a duo.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Yeah. There's like six total people that show up. So three couples show up. If you out there listening are a Charlie Miles friendship. We'd love to know. Or more than friendship. We'd love to talk to you on the podcast. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:46 And we'd love to invite you to the next bar we go to. I actually know a Charlie who named his kid Miles. They're coming. Yeah. They can come. Yeah. Yeah. Where do they live?
Starting point is 00:09:00 South Dakota. All right. Might be a big of a bit of a hike, but. Well, we could do an event in South Dakota. We could do all 50 states. That's cool. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:11 That way people could keep the cost down, the travel cost down. Yeah. We don't see our family for three years, but everyone else can keep their travel cost down. You know, it's the risks we're willing to take for this. So you never said what you... Wait, no, you did. Did you say what your license plate was? Your custom one
Starting point is 00:09:29 was going to be? I didn't. I will say that I've seen... You were counting on your fingers, so I know you were working something in your hat. Yeah, I was, but it's gone. Oh, I, Miles guy. Miles guy. Miles' guy. Miles is guy. I thought you were going to pick something way better than that. Well, it's just what came off the tip of the dome, Miles, okay? Why don't you do
Starting point is 00:09:46 B Brandy? B Brandy. B Brandy. Barron's brandy. Well, you want to get pulled over, put brandy in your license plate. That's like putting a fish bumper stick on your car. And then you get a free like ice cream cone at Dairy Queen because they pull you over thinking that you're drunk and they're not and they have to give you a free cone for making do the test and you're sober. Is that a law? That's how it works in Wisconsin.
Starting point is 00:10:06 That's how it works in Wisconsin. You know, it's fine. And actually they don't even give you like an actual coupon. The cop just says, hey, I gave your name to the Dairy Queen. So just go in and say you're Charlie and you're here for your cone and they'll know who you are. I got pulled over. We do a similar program with Good Kid of the Week over on You Bet Your Radio. Okay, nice.
Starting point is 00:10:28 We have a, you bet you a good kid of the week where people can call in and nominate kids for doing good deeds. And then they can just go to their local Dairy Queen and say their first name and they can just get a free cone. That's a great program you guys have. We partnered with Dairy Queen on that. That's a great program you guys have set up there. I like that. Yeah. So if you guys want to check it out, go to You Bet You Bet You Bet You Bet You Bet You Good Kid of the.
Starting point is 00:10:49 the week.com. There you go. You got a website set up and everything? Oh, yeah. How much you pay DQ for that on an annual basis? No, it's just a good, it's a charity thing we do. Partnership, yeah. Partnership. We're trying to create good communities.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Good kids like good ice cream. It's still live show Charlie. Yep. Sweet rewards for good deeds. That's awesome, dude. You could submit your, yeah, contact us. Email Ryan and Ryan will figure that all out. And how many submissions do you have?
Starting point is 00:11:19 Oh, dozens. Oh, my God. A couple dozens at least, maybe even a couple of bakers dozens. That's awesome, dude. Congratulations to you guys. I like seeing that. So, yeah, if, you know what, Charlie, you've been kind of a good kid lately. When you go to Derequeen, I left your name at the front.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Did you? And you got a free cone on the house. Which DQ? Any of any DQ? That's cool, man. We just email corporate with your name and then they just blasted out to all the DQs. Dude, that's sick. when Charlie walks in, he gets a free cone.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Well, now you're telling all the Charlie's out there, and now that Charlie's are going to flush it. They'll know that it's just you. Trust me. Okay. It's a foolproof system we have going. It's good. That's good.
Starting point is 00:12:00 I like it. No, you'll actually appreciate this because I got that bit because I was initially making fun of the local radio station that actually had like a good kid of the week's segment. And it would be like, our good kid of the week segment this week is little Timmy. Little Timmy helped his sister with her algebra homework and she got a B plus. So shout out to Timmy and you get, you know, and then he got some reward for it.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Yeah. That's what radio station. We're just handing out awards for kids just doing normal stuff. What radio station was that. I don't remember. But it was when I was working concrete. We'd always be like, little fucking Timmy. You got a good kid of the week.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Let's go. Job Timmy. He's just doing high fives for Timmy all day. that's cool do you think that they still make license plates in prison? No no well we can ask our prison pals
Starting point is 00:12:54 so if you guys want to subscribe to you bet you radio Patreon he's getting all the plugs we have a segment called prison pals where we actually do we're pen pals through a guy who works at the prison with prisoners
Starting point is 00:13:09 and we get to ask them questions they get to ask us questions and it's a little pen pal system It is pretty cool. I was on You Betcha Radio found where all podcasts can be found. And it was really fun. I had a great time. Although I was asking all the questions and you guys were acting like they were the dumbest questions in the world.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Well, we've been doing this for like a year and a half. I know. I listen every week. But, you know, it turns out you all have the same questions as me, which I forgot, even though I listen every week. And actually, what's been good about it and you'll appreciate this, Charlie, is, One of the guys that was on it used it as an example in his recovery class as like ways that he is, you know, improving his life. And part of it was that he was, you know, on this podcast and that's great. And talking about his journey with us and what he's learned.
Starting point is 00:14:07 That's awesome. That's really cool. And actually, it was pretty sweet. So, hey, you know what? I'm going to pay it your back. There you go. Do I get an out of boy? You get an add-a-boy there, Miles.
Starting point is 00:14:18 You know what? Hey, for this thing, you're going to get more than that. A-boy, I'll get you tickets to any of my stand-up shows around the country found at Charlie Barrens.com. I had to get a plug in there. I had to get one plug in there. But no, Miles, seriously. You can't just be a supportive guy.
Starting point is 00:14:37 You always got to get your own plug in. No, I usually, I haven't been plugging at all. But up here, I can't have you just plug-in, plug-in, plug-in, plug-in. and I'm not getting any plugs, you know. It's got to be a mutually beneficial podcast, Miles Charlie Barrens.com. I'm going to be in Fargo, ladies and gentlemen. Do you know what I'm going to be in Fargo?
Starting point is 00:14:54 I'm going to be there. And put it on my calendar. Did she? Yeah. Nice. We had a good time the last time we were in Fargo. Although you took me out between the second and third show and got me a little, little tips.
Starting point is 00:15:09 Really? Yeah. I don't remember that. I don't remember that. Maybe two times ago. I was back when I was drinking heavy. Yeah. I didn't even have a lot.
Starting point is 00:15:20 I had one. You encouraged me to get a marg, a margarita for short. Where would we have gone downtown Fargo, though? We would have got a margarita. It was a place your buddy or a buddy of your buddy owned. And it was like a big warehouse with the exposed fence. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you're like, you got to try the margs.
Starting point is 00:15:39 I was like, I don't really, I'm not a marg guy. I don't know if I would have said try the marks. but now I know what you're talking about now and yes, he did get a little tuned up. Yeah, you might have been joking me, but I took you serious. I don't know. Anyways.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Anywho. So you're going with Miles Guy. Miles Guy. That's not Miles' guy. How creative of a human being you are, that's what you got? Oh, I'm sorry, Miles. I'm so sorry that my creativity is not up to your standards.
Starting point is 00:16:12 We should add that to the bellied-up. bingo card in every episode at some point Charlie goes well I'm sorry Miles oh do I do that a lot almost every episode I feel like oh well I'm sorry Miles do you ever listen back to our episodes and remember the good times miles yeah we good times um okay well folks we got more good times Hold on. Give me a minute. I'll think of some good times. Fuck. No, it started out good. Didn't end well. Well, folks, this has been a real pleasure hanging out with Miles and Miles Guy.
Starting point is 00:16:56 And we're going to take some callers today. The worst list's plane. I've ever heard. I'd rather take Gas, L.O.L. over Miles Guy. How about Gas Guy? Yeah, you do the opposite. I heart gas. Yeah, and it's just a guy who's just... I-L-V-G-A-S. It just smells like a Dutch oven in there, you know?
Starting point is 00:17:20 You ever get into an Uber and you're just like, all right, I know what this is about. I'm not tracking. What does that have to do with loving gas? Because there's just ripping farts in his car and you just... God, God. You get in, you're inside this Uber driver's part, you know? Kind of a crass thing to talk about,
Starting point is 00:17:40 but there are people out there know what I'm talking about. So we take some callers? Sure, pal. Late August means school pickups, Miles. They got pickups going to school. And the line is back on these pickups. And, you know, it's like an airport terminal design for people who have never seen a car. They're like, I just know pickups.
Starting point is 00:18:02 But you got buses pulling out. So you're not reading that correctly. We're talking about school pickup lanes, not a pickup lanes. not a pickup truck I don't think so Miles tell me you don't have a kid without telling me you don't have a kid Miles your kid's not even in school so
Starting point is 00:18:18 suck it you know but you got these buses pulling out right and these kids are crossing and these parents are waving each other through and they're like nice truck yeah I like yours too and then you got one vehicle and it's parked in the spot that's very clearly not a spot
Starting point is 00:18:34 you know like it's like okay we're on a sidewalk right and then you traffic problems, change fast round schools, distracted driver rush turns, someone ignoring, stop bus, cause real collision or pedestrian injury. Now, if this happens to you or your family because someone else was not paying attention, they were paying for lottery tickets. Nicolay Law is there to help, ladies and gents. Call 1-855-5-5-5-synco Nicolay. Marco. Polo.
Starting point is 00:19:14 What are we doing? We're ballied up to the bar, suckling some bottled beers at Black Forest, pub and grillet. What are you doing? Where are you guys at? See, we're in Wisconsin. Oh, in Wisconsin. Oh, and Wisconsin.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Oh, okay. Oh, yeah. Where are you at, Jeff? Yeah. I know. I don't know exactly where you're up, but no, no, no, no. So what's going on? Where are you at, Jeff?
Starting point is 00:19:43 What are we drinking? Where are you at? Well, I'm currently in Newport, Ritchie, Florida. I commonly spelled no place, really. So you're a Florida man. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Transplant from the UP, though.
Starting point is 00:19:57 So I got that going for me. So me and Jared drove through the UP to get here, actually. Oh, really? Jared had never been to Wisconsin. I'd never been to the U. or Jared had never been to Michigan. I'd never been to the UP and so we marked off
Starting point is 00:20:13 two birds with one stone on that road trip. Well, you passed Michigami. That's where that's where my family lives. Probably you shouldn't have blinked. You probably didn't miss it. Yeah. I mean, there was some towns
Starting point is 00:20:28 that we were blinking and missing. It doesn't take much up there. There's that one road, East and West. And that's about it. Yeah. were on it and we were on it. Highway 2, is that what it was? I, yeah, I believe that's
Starting point is 00:20:43 what it is. It's a nice place. It's a nice place. I was up there on Duck Lake not too long ago. Oh, okay. It's just up 45 of ways. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I figured it's much easier to sweep sand and shovel snow, so I'm, I beat feet. Okay, you got the hell out of there.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Is there anything you miss about the UP? Summertime's four-wheel drive or the, not four-wheel-in on the snowmobile trails. Yes. When me and my dad and my son still go up there during the summertime to do the snowmobile trails with a four-wheeler and bounce from town to town. Yep, yep. We got a snowmobile trail by my lake and we take the side-by-side. My kid loves it. Oh, yep, yep.
Starting point is 00:21:35 We just call it, we just call it the ditch. So every time we get in the side by tide, he just goes, ditch. That's great. That's awesome. But the ship art is the part he loves the most is there's a big tree next to it. And then there's like these giant roots that are like on the thing. And so they're basically like speed bumps. He just wants me to hit those.
Starting point is 00:21:57 Ah, hit them in speed. Well, they're kids. They don't know. Put a helmet out of him. He'll be all right. Yeah, he's fine. That's what I told him. I used to tell my friend.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Oh, yeah. Well, I'll take a Miller light. Okay. All right. Jeff will take a Miller light and a J-Mo neat. And then is Charlie there? I'm here. I just said that.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Oh, you're Charlie. I don't know the difference between you and Miles. Sometimes our voices blend together. Sometimes our voices just blend together. Sometimes our voices just blend together. Sometimes our voices just blend together. Real good radio. You go pick up some pull tabs for me, would you?
Starting point is 00:22:44 We're just going to float in and out of each other's voices here, and then you have to decide who's talking. You've got to decide who's talking. Well, I know. Well, Miles, I suppose we probably should start talking about something with Jeff. Whoa. Well, I don't know. What are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:23:03 Well, Jeff. You want to talk about my problems? Yeah. What's your biggest problem, Jeff? Well, my biggest problem is a girlfriend and boats. Glad you added boats. Not necessarily in that order. Glad you added boats.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Yeah, yeah, not necessarily in that order, Miles. But it's, you know, so we're, I mean, I mean, you guys have lake houses. You guys have boats. How many boats is too many? one. Oh, geez, howie. You know, they say that the best day in a boat owner's life, the two best days in a boat owner's life is the day they buy it and the day that they sell it.
Starting point is 00:23:46 They sell it, yeah. Oh, okay. Oh, all right. Well, then I've been, I've been all wrong the whole life. So you've had one of those days already. I'm guessing you own a boat. Oh, no. I own too many.
Starting point is 00:23:59 That's my problem is my girlfriend wants me to sell some. how many boats do you got jeff uh well oh oh charlie oh oh oh oh hold on sorry jeff sorry charlie just got foam coming out of his beer why does that always happen to you on this podcast because miles how do you drinking this i just want a little tiny sip and then you say something of mild frustration and i just pound it down a little too hard but is it It doesn't happen to anyone else I've ever seen. Oh, no one you've ever seen has ever done it, Miles. No, it's usually just when you go like this. Don't do that, Miles.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Well, I'm like any, I'm like any. I'm like, I'm from. Sucking fall. Sorry, Jeff. Miles just, Miles just butt tap my high life and I had to give it a big old gulp ahead. Oh, you got a high life? All right.
Starting point is 00:24:59 All right. Well, I would have done a PBR as opposed to a highlight. Well, Jeff, different strokes for different folks. Speaking of strokes, what kind of a boat engine you got on there? Hold on. We're not there yet, Chuck. We're not? He said he's got a bunch of boats.
Starting point is 00:25:13 I want to know how many boats he has. Well, no, no, no. And it's not bougie because I'm broke as sin. I spend more money on wreck 90 fuel than what I do on my mortgage. But I feel as if you need a boat for every reason. It's like a, you know, like a tradesman. has everything in his pouch. Hey, Jeff, we're not your girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:25:36 You want to explain this. How many boats you got? Four. Okay. Four boats. That's a lot of boats. Let me guess. For one guy. So you got a fishing boat, a pontoon boat, a duck boat. An offshore boat.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Oh, yeah, an offshore boat because he's in Florida. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No. Well, I got a, no, I got a, I got the mosquito of the sea, unfortunately. But it is useful. I got a C-Doo C-Pro, which is good for unimproved ramps and places that you haven't been. The jet ski with some ramps. I do have a dockboat. There you go.
Starting point is 00:26:13 And you need that. You need that for hunting. Yeah. And then I got a 16 nitro for bass fishing. That's good for the little lakes. Okay. And then I got a 23 C-pro for, you know, it's a bay boat. So I can go inshore, offshore, whatever.
Starting point is 00:26:31 And the old lady wants to buy a bigger house and she doesn't have a parking spot in the driveway anymore. So I'm wondering which one do I get rid of? I think you get rid of the girlfriend. I think that's probably a good option. Okay. That's what you were talking about, right? Get rid of one of them. Let me get this right.
Starting point is 00:26:57 You got a duck boat. You have a jet boat and two fishing boats. Yes. Okay. All right. I mean, the jet boat threw me for a loop a little bit. Well,
Starting point is 00:27:06 no, it's a jet ski. It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a C-Doo C-Pro. Oh, C-Dew.
Starting point is 00:27:12 So it's like a C-Doo. It's a jet ski. Yeah, but it has rod holders. That counts, right? That does count. That's kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:27:18 That's kind of pretty sweet, dude. Yeah. I didn't know that was an option on a jet ski. Oh, yeah, yeah, no,
Starting point is 00:27:26 I know it's, I know it's the mosquito of the sea, and I hate them, but the mosquito of the sea. I thought he said the mosquito of the sea. I was like, what's wrong? What he said? I thought he said musky of the sea. I don't know. Yeah. No, I hate
Starting point is 00:27:38 him with the fire of a thousand sons, but sometimes they're practical. So does your, does your girlfriend get to enjoy these boats, or are you hoarding them for yourself? No, we go to the, we go to the sandbar. We go to the sandbar sometimes.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Why is your voice getting so high? Yeah, what are you doing on that sandbar? Why is your voice getting so hot? No, no, no, no. Well, but normally I do a little bit of fishing first, and if I do fish in, and she's out. So, well, actually, you got to do what I do, and I trick my wife into taking me fishing. So I'm like, hey, you want to go for a ride in the boat?
Starting point is 00:28:21 And then we get out there, I'm like, hey, put it in gear, and we're just going to troll this little area, keep me on this line. And she's like, oh, I see what this is about. This wasn't a love cruise. Well, there's not, you know, you're trolling. I mean, you just got some rods out, you know. I know. And she was all like, wow.
Starting point is 00:28:39 And I was like, what do you mean? This is relaxing. Yeah, we're going rods out, sweetie. You know, rods, rods out. Kind of like five or six northern. So did you really trolling? Yeah. I didn't know you had trollers on there.
Starting point is 00:28:52 You have like, Charlie, planar boards? sir my lake that's what I was wondering is you use it you guys are using down rigors up there right aren't you fishing in I don't think he is I think his lake is a freaking aquarium so he just goes out there and just holds the rod off the side is my guess yeah oh yeah yeah that's pretty that's pretty nice we caught a lot of fish up at his lake oh are what lakes that one Jeff you want to you want to ask Charlie how many fish we've caught at his lake Charlie, how many fish have you caught in your leg?
Starting point is 00:29:25 I've caught a ton of fish. No, no, no, no. How many have we caught in the last two days? Oh, you've been up at your cabin? Yeah, the answer is zero fish. And then Jeff, once you ask him how many bites we've had? Oh.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Jeff, why don't you ask Miles? Why don't you have some miles if he actually cast where I tell him to cast? I, okay, okay. No, you know, now hear me out. Hear me out. I can tell you exactly how to fix that situation. Okay, all right. Let's hear you.
Starting point is 00:29:56 No, this is how you fix it. You just buy entirely too many boats and you spend entirely too much in fuel. And then you don't have that much money. It's made me a better fisherman. I can tell you. You don't have that much money for food. And so you know how much harder you fish? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:14 So, yeah. Yeah, is that to buy yourself another boat. Charlie has spent enough money on boats. So therefore, he has too much money for fish. food. I'm doing it all wrong. I'm doing it all wrong. Exactly. You got it. Yeah, you got to put the past of the behind and move forward. Come on, man. That's what you got to do. You need, yeah, you need a trolling rigged. You need down rigors. I got some pen down rigors. Oh, are we doing the buy sell trade thing?
Starting point is 00:30:40 Yes, yes. What do you want to sell? All right. I got, funny story. I got some pen down rigors that I don't have mouths for. so um how much you want for them you want buy sell them or trade them all right what do you want in in place uh it should be fishing stuff you got uh i i an engagement ring what do you think oh no oh no no she's already gone yeah no no she's gone what do you yeah she left you well yeah yeah Yeah, yeah, well, Jeff, you buried the lead here, dude. What the fuck is going on? Well, when I called originally, this was my, this is what I was talking about.
Starting point is 00:31:29 But then I couldn't buy another boat. And so I ended up buying a, well, she ended up pulling up. And there was a golf cart in her parking spot. And she said, oh, who's here when she got back from work? And I was like, nobody. She's like, you bought a golf cart? I was like, it's for TerraFerma fun. And, yeah, she said, yeah, she said, yeah, she was.
Starting point is 00:31:50 She went to our moms. So you guys are now broken up because you bought too many toys. The long and the short of it. Wow. Jeff. One toy too many. You know, I've always heard that this could happen,
Starting point is 00:32:07 but I don't think I've ever actually seen or heard this happen in real life. Oh, it's a truth with some cheese on cheese curds on it. Yeah. Now, Jeff, is it done done? Yeah, what kind of gone are we talking about?
Starting point is 00:32:18 We're talking about, gone for good or good and gone or gone to her moms gone to her moms is it gone with a long before it's you know what kind of gone are we talking about i i think we can write this ship but it's going to but how many days has she been at her moms just the last week okay so seven days Wow, Jeff, so you're in need of some real advice right now. She's not going to love that you're talking to us. She's not going to love when she finds out you're talking to us and not over there trying to write the ship. Well, you know, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
Starting point is 00:33:00 He's like, okay, so how many boats can I get rid of? I see what this is about now. He's like, okay, I want to get her back, but I don't want to lose too many boats. yes yeah yeah no she's a solid eight and a half I mean if she was a two I'll eat the boats
Starting point is 00:33:19 but you know maybe in oh no nine if she's listening it sounds like Jeff that the boats aren't even the problem it sounds like the golf cart was the last straw
Starting point is 00:33:34 well that's just the straw that broke the camel's back you know yeah but that's for that's for our terra firma fun because we live in a golf cart friendly, you know, town.
Starting point is 00:33:45 So I was like, huh, I kid a golf cart. You know, solve all the problems. So you got it for her is what you're saying. It's got four-wheel drive. You got it for him. Jeff, well, but this is where we're at, Jeff, though. You got to start thinking like a marketing person and not so much like a guy. If you would have had a bow on it and maybe just had like a pink stripe going down the
Starting point is 00:34:08 side of it, you could have been like, I bought this for you. It's the same shit my mom did. with TiVo for my dad. My dad doesn't watch TV but for Christmas, way back in the day she got my dad Tevo and my dad was like, what the hell? And then my mom just used the shit out of it. That's what kind of thing we're talking about here. You put
Starting point is 00:34:24 a bow on it, you put a pink stripe down the side that you can peel off later, just say it fell off and say I got this for you. It's much better perceived than I bought this so I can fuck around in the neighborhood. With four wheel drive. You're on to something. You're on to
Starting point is 00:34:40 something. I'm going to call my rap guy. I'll have it wrapped it in pink. And then that should solve all my problems, right? It's a step in the right direction, you know? It's at least an olive branch across the aisle, you know? That's what I thought the golf cart was. Okay. But I actually shouldn't have parked it in her spot.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Oh, you really double did it. So do you think that this is just about this? Because, you know, I buy a lot of dumb shit. and never once have I felt like Anne was, you know, even if she was like, oh, he shouldn't have bought that. I never felt like she was going to go stay at her mom's. Was there other things in your relationship that have been boiling over? Oh, yeah. She wants a bigger house.
Starting point is 00:35:27 How much bigger house we talk? I want to hear some square footage numbers. You got to sell an SQFT house right now or no? I have no idea what that means, but I'm a solid thousand square feet. And I'm a single, I don't have any kids. My kid moved away, you know, I got, I got a thousand square foot. And I probably got, I don't know, half acre, acre. You have a thousand square foot house and three thousand square feet of boat.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Well, now you're making me sound bad. I do think that that probably is a good ratio for women. You'll get some pull tabs. You know what I mean? You can only have two X, the boat square foot. footage as your house. Yeah. So if you had a, you probably need to go down to 2,000 square feet of boat and it probably would be okay. Or you get 2,000 square feet of house and you can get go up to 4,000 square feet
Starting point is 00:36:27 of boat. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Now is she looking for you to propose here, Jeff? Oh, I'm sure. Okay. Have you, Jeff, I'm starting to wonder, have you, talk to her in the last year it feels like oh yeah no no no no no no he still talk she invites me to dinner so wait she's staying in her moms but
Starting point is 00:36:53 you guys still go out for dinner yeah all right it's a work in progress just just looking for you know what you know what you guys think
Starting point is 00:37:05 like well did she say she just needs some time apart no she just left yeah no she said i need to figure my s out okay how uh hmm did she see in other people oh i don't think so maybe that's good um well so so if i'm getting rid of boats which one do we get rid of them well you so get rid of the jet ski the jet ski the jet skis mosquito of the sea. I feel like a duck boat's probably on the cheaper side of.
Starting point is 00:37:45 So you keep that. It's not going to gain you much ground monetarily to be able to buy a new house. I mean, honestly, you got two fishing boats. You know, I don't, I know, I know they're for specific. But I can't put the C pro on a lake. Yeah. I look like an imbecile. Right.
Starting point is 00:38:05 He's got to have lake fishing. I understand. You can't like. fish out of the duck boat. It is possible. Yeah. Okay. That is actually a good point, Chuck. Yeah. Do your duck boat for hun and fishing on lakes? Keep your sea boat. But Miles, now he's down there in Florida and there's no cover on those duck boats. So we do some redneck signs. No, no, I got, I got little poles. I got little poles. I put up a, uh, I got, I got the, uh, the, what is it? Well, you just sold yourself out there.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Jeff. Now I was trying to keep you all the all the fishing boats now now you got to sell one of the fishing boats. Yeah, I think you sell one of the lake fishing boat and the jet ski. Now you've cut your boat, boatage in half, should free up some money to maybe get some more square footage in a house. Okay. All right. And how does that sit with you when I say it? It hurts me. It hurts me. You cut me real deep, miles. Then keep the boats. Keep the boats. If she really loved you, she would believe she'd like your boats. You want more boats. Because you know what?
Starting point is 00:39:16 And this is what you say to her. You say, I got to be me and you got to be you. And if I can't be mean, then I'm going to resent you. And that's not fair to you. It's true. Unless it is a scenario where you're like, this is my last shot at love. There's nothing after this. Then you may be consider it.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Yeah. Well, I tell you guys, one thing that's funny. She says, I want to do vacations. I was going to do this, that another. I was like, oh, I do that every time I go fishing. Every weekend I get my view. That does not the correct thing. That's not the story.
Starting point is 00:39:48 That's just the completely wrong thing to say, Jeff. That may be in retrospect why she left. I don't know. I think it's the boats. I think it's the golf cart parked in her spot. She's like, I just want to spend time with you. He's like, I don't. I want to just spend time on my boats.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Yeah. And if you go fishing, you already said she's not going with. So you basically just said time without you is my vacation. Wow. Yeah. Well, all right. Well,
Starting point is 00:40:18 that's something to think about it. That might be what she heard anyway. Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly what she heard. Okay. But, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Oh, so let's change the subject before you bury myself anything more. What happened in Tampa when you were down here? Oh, someone smoked in the little boy. room and cleared out the building. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. They cleared out the building. I was down there for you. And I was, I was in there. And I talked to the, uh, I talked to the door guy. And he's like, oh, the fire department has to go all the way through the whole building. And they got to clear everything.
Starting point is 00:40:55 It's going to be a while. So I ended up missing your show. My bad brother. You missed it. He went to a baseball game. You should give him a refund. No, I went to the casino. Yes. Now you can give me Give him a refund, Charlie. You were just talking on a previous podcast about how they should get their money back. This is the scenario he should get his money back. I know. I don't know my money back.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Sure. No, just put another, just put another Tampa show or St. Pete's show on your schedule. I haven't seen any of it. Next year maybe sometime. Did you have a good showing there in Tampa? Jeff, were you smoking in the bathroom? Was that you?
Starting point is 00:41:35 Is that why you didn't come back? There was a vape, but it was a vape. Vapes did not set off any alarms. No, they said it was a vape. That's what they said. They said it was a vape. I don't vape. I promise you.
Starting point is 00:41:52 I promise you, I don't vape. It wasn't me. I mean, they could be wrong, but they... There's no way a vape just sets off a smoke alarm. I think babes can set up a smoke alarm. Google it, Jared. Maybe like new, new, like, systems can detect vapes or something. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:08 All I know is the whole thing cleared. They did blame it out of bay. If that was the case in high schools, would have the fire alarms going off. Oh, yeah, no. There would be no high schools. They would just spend all day outside because the fire department's sweeping it every 15 minutes.
Starting point is 00:42:23 I mean, I think if you dissipated enough, it doesn't do it. But can they, Jared? Yes, Vapes can set off smoke alarms using especially photoelectric optical sensors when thick clouds are blown directly into the unit in a small room. Oh, so somebody was trying. So the photoelectric thing uses a light beam to detect the smoke and then it sets off.
Starting point is 00:42:44 Ah, maybe someone was like out to get you. Yeah. Oh, there's a little intentional. Interesting. Is there a Florida comedian you've been beefing with that maybe you want to know your show?
Starting point is 00:42:59 Burke Chrysher. Yeah, maybe he was Bert Chrysher in there trying to shut your show down as you're stomping on his turf. You never know. I'll call it. I'll call Bert and I'll ask him. Get in his ear.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Yeah. Yeah, pop in there. Okay. I love that you just went to the casino and didn't even come back to the show. You're like, I want to see this guy, but like fire alarm is just a bridge too far. I mean, I think we're also starting to learn, Charlie, that Jeff doesn't have a lot of impulse control. All he needed was a 10-minute delay for him to be at the casino. Oh, how did it go at the casino?
Starting point is 00:43:36 by the way. Oh, not good. That's why Miles said something about a refund. I was like, cool, put me in. I was like, yes, yes, yes, yes. I need a refund. This guy needs some more recreational gas. I mean, some rec 90, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:55 Or send me some rec 90, whatever. But next time you're in Tampa, man. I'll send you a bomb, Jeff. God. Okay. You can ship wreck 90, can you? I got to be able to do it. I feel like when they ask, is there anything liquid or explosive in here?
Starting point is 00:44:10 Just rent a tanker and set it down there. Yeah, I'll rent a tanker. That's a good idea. All right. All right. Who'd show it up. I got boats to fill. Yeah, I think we're finding, Jeff, that this whole relationship thing is much more about impulse control than anything.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Oh, that's 110%. You impulsively bought a golf cart and made her upset, you know? Well, I don't know. My main reason was which boat do I sell? So now I know. I got to sell the bath boat because I got to sell the jet ski. I got the duck boat so that I can go on the lake on. And then I got my and then I got my bay boat.
Starting point is 00:44:47 All right. Fucking problem solved. So like, all right, pay a picture for me here. You say, hey, here's the cash I got from selling the jet ski from selling the bass boat. Come back home. Do you think she's coming back home? Oh, yeah. If she has a parking spot,
Starting point is 00:45:06 you know, I got to sell the golf cart too. That's true, yeah. Oh, if you're selling the golf cart, keep the, keep the fishing boats. Selling the golf cart and the, the lake skeeter, that should be enough.
Starting point is 00:45:17 But the thing is, he's got to get enough money to be able to upgrade the homer. She's good as gone. Well, maybe Zales too could have. Yeah. Oh,
Starting point is 00:45:24 yeah. Sell the golf cart. You roll up with golf cart money at Zales. You're going to be looking like a king. You're going to be coming out. out with some friggin' 14-carat. Get her a watch.
Starting point is 00:45:35 Get her a watch and engrave. Tell your folks, I says, hi. I'm no glad you said watch. I thought you were going to say ring. Oh, God, don't get a ring. No, God, no. She sounds a little unstable to be buying rings. I thought for sure that's where that was going.
Starting point is 00:45:54 I was like, no. Jeff, how long you've been dating her? Oh, I don't know, probably five years. Oh, wow. You got to have a better answer. Yeah. Oh, I don't know. Please pretend.
Starting point is 00:46:06 You better hope she has an listen to this podcast. You better hope that eight and a half, possibly nine. Alison, why didn't you just go up to 10 if she was listening to it? Go up to 10. You said if she's listening, she's a nine. Oh, no. Well, I think eight and a half, nine is strong. Okay.
Starting point is 00:46:24 Why is your voice getting high up there? The third time you've gotten high voice on us. well do you love this girl Jeff I'm okay and his voice got high when he said he yes yes I love her
Starting point is 00:46:42 I mean that might also just be another good option Jeff it's just move on yeah move on Jeff find a gal that like that type of drama in your life that if you come home impulsively with a brand new golf card that she's just going to leave you can't deal
Starting point is 00:46:56 with that type of volatility in your relationship life yeah it's not working out Jeff and also, hey, guess what? 2,000 square feet, it's good enough for you and your Jill there, Jeff, but 1,000 square feet, that's perfect for Jeff,
Starting point is 00:47:10 and you can keep all the boats. Yeah, okay. Follow your arrow, Jeff. You already got a kid, right? You said that he moved away. Oh, yeah, he's been through the Coast Guard. He's, oh, yeah, he's, I've raised. You did that dog and pony show.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Yeah. Yeah. No, yeah, no, he's, he's deuses. He's doing great. He's in, he's in, got under the coast guard he's in college he's doing good
Starting point is 00:47:36 well then setter free I think you know sometimes you catch a bass and you just you take a photo with it you take the hook out and you just release it back into the wild exactly it doesn't they don't all have to be mounted on the wall
Starting point is 00:47:51 long arm release long arm release so you go over your girlfriend's mom house and you say and you go over there and you go, well, you know, I just, uh, I think this isn't going to work out. You know? That's it. In true Jeff fashion.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Yeah. Yeah. You just go over there and, uh, drive over in your, uh, golf cart. You got a trailer hitch on that golf cart. Pull the duck boat behind. The duck boat right behind it. As soon as you're done there, you got to hit the lake. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:25 The leg, it's not duck season down here in Florida. No, it's a professional. No, no, no, no, nobody. but he doesn't need to anymore. That's right. He has his, yeah. Trailer your jet ski over there.
Starting point is 00:48:36 All right. Because I know that after a breakout, nothing cures you like just a jet ski ride, you know? Yeah. Have you ever seen anybody frown with a jet ski? There you go. There you go,
Starting point is 00:48:45 Jeff. All right. Well, I appreciate that. That's the exact reason why I called you, kids. How does it sit with you when we say maybe just part ways and you guys break up and you keep the boats?
Starting point is 00:48:58 How does that sit in your stomach? not that good but i think if i get rid of two and i open up a parking now he's going back if i open up two and i open up a parking spot then i think you know i don't i think i think we may be able circle back on this because it's been like i said like it's been years which which boat do you use the least oh the duck boat wow okay but you can't get rid of the dund
Starting point is 00:49:31 Oh, no, no, Charlie, just hold on, okay? I got a plan. All right. How many buddies do you got that like fishing and hunting? Oh, I have a three or four. Okay, so here's what you do, man. You don't sell the boat. You tell her you sell the boat.
Starting point is 00:49:49 You bring it over your buddy's house. You say, hey, if I can store this here, you can use it whenever you want because I don't use this one the least. You can use it whenever you want if you let me store it here. You still have access to your boat. your buddy gets access to the boat your girlfriend thinks it's gone you still have it it's kind of the best of both worlds cheese curds and rice that is the best idea ever all right that's what i'll do i'll just start this is an out of sight out of mind situation for your girlfriend yeah well where do you
Starting point is 00:50:18 have a part jeff are they parked at the house yeah oh they are oh yeah it's got four boats in the driveway oh my god they're in my front yard my neighbors love me. Oh, geez, Jeff. Come on. Jeff, just go store it at your buddy's house. Problem solved. Yes, no, I like that idea. And tell her you invested the money, okay? Because technically you have invested the money in your happiness. Yes. Okay. So, and then once your happiness leads to, what do you do for a living, Jeff? I'm an insurance adjuster. Okay. All right. So, you know, find a way to skim some off the top. And then you'll get.
Starting point is 00:51:00 get a bigger house. Pray for her. Pray for hurricanes. You got all the keys to the kingdom there, buddy. Yeah. Just find a way to touch cash. Call him Hurricane Jeff over there. Oh, no, I've already been through two of them. Chessner, a house got flooded twice. Well, at least he had a boat. Hey, at least he made money off of it. No, no. I drug, I drug everything of importance. I don't know. I don't know. I should have just left my trucks and my boats right here. How many trucks do you have, Jeff? How many trucks do you have?
Starting point is 00:51:39 Two now. I'm down to two. What were you at? You're down to two? Yeah. Yeah, I got an excursion and a wrangler. Because how many trucks did you have, Jeff? Four.
Starting point is 00:51:54 Holy shit. Four boats. Oh. And a golf car. And you live in a thousand square foot house. Yes. I'm not rich. You don't need to talk to us, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:52:09 Called Dave Ramsey. Yeah. You're going to call that man. You're going to give him a heart attack. How many, how many, how many do you own outright? Everything. I got zero debt. Okay.
Starting point is 00:52:25 That's zero debt. Wow. Hey. Then Dave's going. going to say, get rid of the girl. Yeah. Well, I mean, it is true. You can't be pulling, you know, each boat's got to have its own truck.
Starting point is 00:52:43 Yes, that's what I'm saying. I got the, well, now I'm down to the Jeep Wrangler because that's for the unimproved ramps up for the duck boat in the jet ski. And then I got my excursion for the big boat and the bass boat. That makes sense. And he's already been very prudent. Why don't you start with the positives with your gal? Tell her you sold two trucks.
Starting point is 00:53:03 What more do you want to sell the golf cart and more? Yeah, yeah. That's what you want. Talk about the trailer that I bought for the golf cart. I haven't talked about that. Wait, a trailer for the golf cart? Are you dry humping me, Jeff? In case I want to move it.
Starting point is 00:53:21 Yeah, you are smart. Is it? No, I'm with Jeff on that. You can't be driving a golf cart. You got to be trailering. Yeah, you can't drive it. You can't drive a golf cart. put extra unnecessary
Starting point is 00:53:30 unnecessary miles on it and hours. Why don't you just try something bold, Jeff, and just tell her to make more money. There you go. That's going to totally work miles. That's a great idea. What's her job?
Starting point is 00:53:49 Jeff, you got to know. You have to know. This one is. Jeff, you have to know what her job is. Should be able to knock this one out of the park right there. This is the easiest question we've asked all day long. this is easier than how long you've been dating if I'm being honest
Starting point is 00:54:04 at least give us a high voice here Jeff come on I don't know you actually don't know what she does I haven't seen a no I haven't seen a paycheck stub so so she doesn't work oh no
Starting point is 00:54:20 she's got a job okay now I have a few more questions Jeff Jeff what's her job is her job legal Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Is she a hairdresser? No, no. Are we going to play 20 questions here? Yeah, it's in the medical field.
Starting point is 00:54:38 She's a nurse. She's a crazy nurse. No, because he would have seen a payst up. Right. I want to have her pay stubs. Yeah, I mean, what are you, after you get paid, you run home and say, honey, look at my pay stub. That's not how it works anymore.
Starting point is 00:54:51 It's all electronic, Charlie. So what's her job, Jeff? It's in the medical field. Yeah, she's a nurse. He's not saying what it is. It's not a nurse. He would have said. I'm not pinhole.
Starting point is 00:55:02 I'm not pigeonholing anybody. Pigeon hauling. I don't want. Jeff, it's a medical. Well, I can't decide if he does know and he's refusing to tell us or he actually doesn't know. Is it something, is it a standard medical job or is this, are we talking to Eastern medicine?
Starting point is 00:55:18 She had an acupuncture. No, no, just standard medical job in a hospital. Just tell us what the job is, Jeff. close to a nurse. Close to a nurse. Is she a doctor? I'd have a bigger house. Is she a physician's assistant?
Starting point is 00:55:40 Something like that. I don't know. Jeff, what is her, Jeff? Come on, Jeff. Use your impulse and just tell us what her job is. Yeah, yeah. She's in like the nursing field.
Starting point is 00:55:52 Okay. Well, but why are you just saying she's a nurse then? Well, maybe, yeah. Okay. Jeff. Jeff, why are you being so coy about that? What do we do? I thought this was about me, me, me, me, me.
Starting point is 00:56:10 Do you not want to give her info out there? You don't want to blow up her spot. We haven't said her name. You've actually given no details about her because you just have been saying you don't know. Yeah, no, she's like in that. The information we have is she lives in Florida. She's at eight and a half, sometimes nine. And she works in the medical field.
Starting point is 00:56:30 I think you're good. She's currently at her parents' house. You've been right in this house. Currently at her parents' house. Yeah. And she doesn't like boats. That's all the information we have. I don't think a job is going to be.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Fishing. She doesn't like fishing. She will go on the boat. No, she'll fish. Sometimes. Well, I stand corrected. Jeff, go get your girl, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Go sell some shit. Go get your girl. All right. Go pick her up. I need some Midwest wisdom. Yeah, I think that's where we're setting on it. Go get your girl. Sell the jet ski, sell the bass boat, sell the golf cart.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Keep the duck boat and the bay boat. Yeah. No, go park the duck boat at your buddies. Now all of a sudden, visually, you're down to one boat. Now there's room in the driveway. Answer solved. I could have probably, didn't need you to. That's Jeff.
Starting point is 00:57:31 I, you did need us, though. You did. And maybe this is what some of your girlfriend's going through that I'm feeling is like I solved all your problems there and then you tried to take all the credit. You know, maybe this is something what your nurse girlfriend's feeling. I just needed a little bit of affirmation, and I appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:57:53 That's the exact reason I called you. Is this going to air? Oh, this is going to air, Jeff. Oh, she-h-h-h-Muslim. She-Its Muslim. Never heard that one before. Jeff, what's happening? What?
Starting point is 00:58:09 Jeff, does your girlfriend like our show? Oh, no. She hates podcasts. Perfect. Thank God you said she hates podcasts and Joe. Oh, yeah. No. I let us.
Starting point is 00:58:20 No, no, I fall, I fall asleep to your podcast and a couple other ones every night. Glad we can just dial you right into the REM sleep there, Jeff. There's that. No, no, but I replay them. I replay them. It takes me about two nights to get one through. Also, what's actually great is, like, at least right now, you don't have to worry about her not like a podcast. is not a home.
Starting point is 00:58:49 You're just by yourself. Yeah, I can put it on that. Yeah, no. I don't have to wear AirPods tonight. You can just throw it on out loud. Exactly. Put it on the TV. I don't have to put it on my phone.
Starting point is 00:58:59 Oh, there you go. Let's go, dude. Well, Jeff, we appreciate you calling in. We really do. Oh, I appreciate, dude. I appreciate you guys. You guys are freaking hilarious. So what's the final consensus here, Jeff?
Starting point is 00:59:16 What's the plan? I want to know what we came to. where we're at what's the plan all right so step one sell the golf cart because i got a jeep wrangler i don't need a golf cart there we're all right we're making steps step two selva jet ski it's a mosquito of the sea yeah nobody likes those anyway oh yeah and then the bass boat yeah so need it's got to be your highest ticket item right unless it's an absolute piece of dog oh no it's a It's a piece. It's, it's, it runs.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Okay. It runs. It's just got a two-stroke Suzuki on it, though. It's older. So, yeah, no, no, it's not, quiet. Nothing. It doesn't smoke. All right.
Starting point is 01:00:04 Step four is what? I would say go to her mom's house. No, you got to go hide the duck boat somewhere, man. Oh, yes. It's an important step. I'm going to write this down. I would actually say, hold on to the duck boat. See if what you already got rid of is enough.
Starting point is 01:00:29 And then if not, I mean, it's a risky play. But Jeff does like going to casino. So maybe that is the one for him. You can gamble on the duck boat and hold it as leverage of if that's not enough. Okay, I love you so much or I like you so much. I'll get the duck boat too. Okay. Yep.
Starting point is 01:00:47 I'll bring just bring it to my buddies. house for and then go and then go get your girl. Oh, all right. All right. Well, good. I'm glad we cleared everything up today. Me too, Jeff. Me too.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Well, yeah, yeah, yeah. And also, you're about to embark on two of the best days of your life. Selling two boats. The day you buy a boat and sell a boat. I'm going to end up saying. You're going to have two great days. Try and sell them on different days so you don't just have one great day. Yeah, you know, you can.
Starting point is 01:01:15 The Jetsky will be the best day. And then a handful of money and go. a bigger boat. Oh, God. We're screwed. Well, not us. Jeff. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Get her a ring, Jeff. Get her a watch. That's figuratively, not literally. Go get her a watch at Zales. Oh, and Seals.
Starting point is 01:01:36 What's wrong with Zales, Jeff? What's wrong with Zales? Jeff, why do you think Zales is funny? Fuck you, Jeff. What is this? What is? Why do you think Zales is funny? You guys just buy your jewelry at the mall?
Starting point is 01:01:56 Yeah, dude. It's a very respectable place to get jewelry or a watch for a great employee. I mean, it does send the wrong message if you go to if you go to K jewelers, you know, because then every kiss begins with K. Oh, all right. Bad message. So it's probably good. So that's where you buy all your employees watches, Charles.
Starting point is 01:02:18 Well, it's just one, and maybe that's going to be it after all the... Then I'll shut up. I'm sorry. Hand ringing, I'm getting out of here. There's nothing wrong with Zales, Miles. And would have been happy with a ring from Zales. God. They sells cubic zirconiums, okay?
Starting point is 01:02:37 Well, listen, Jeff, it's been a real pleasure talking to you, Mike. Yeah, you too, man. Dude, I'm freaking fanning out. But, yeah, you guys, I love you guys. You guys are hilarious. Okay. whatever you just said say that to your girlfriend not just us yeah yeah oh say i'm fanning out here and oh i'm i'm i'm crashing out here i miss you and i just i love you say that to her not just us
Starting point is 01:03:02 yeah and don't go high in your voice when you say it i love you keep the voice nice and low all right i got i'm going to work on that you know i'm going to work on that today what's up baby there you go I miss you. Hey, baby. There you go. Something like that. I'm getting turned on. All right, Jeff.
Starting point is 01:03:23 You're off the menu. Yeah, I am. I am off the menu for now. All right, cool kids. You keep tempted me with that voice, Jeff. You got to turn a corner. I might. I might.
Starting point is 01:03:37 You're going to turn around. Oh, God. All right. Well, Jeff, listen. Hey, tell your girlfriend's mom. He says hi. Okay. all right.
Starting point is 01:03:45 Yeah. All right. Hey, you guys have a good, do you guys have a good day? Do you think this will air? Yeah, he's going to air,
Starting point is 01:03:54 Jeff. He needs to know how much time he has to prep his girlfriend to, to hear this. Yeah. What do you think? What do you think it will? A couple weeks yet still. All right.
Starting point is 01:04:05 Hey, hey, Charlie, next time you come down to Tampa, freaking hit me up, man. Let's go, let's go belly up.
Starting point is 01:04:11 That sounds good, Jeff. I like how he didn't ask for, like, hey, I'll come to your show if you're in town. He's just like, I already tried that once. He tried it. He wasn't for me, so let's just go get a beer. At the casino bar. Let's go drop a 20 in a slot machine. Try to well.
Starting point is 01:04:30 Well, I'll buy you a beer. Actually, you owe me a beer now that I think about it. Yeah, I know. Seriously. You owe me a beer. And he also owes you a refunded everyone. It was everyone. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:04:41 Well, if you come, if you know, in all seriousness. If you come down here, I'll still have one of the boats. So let's go out fishing down to shrimp or something like that. That sounds fun, Jeff. I'm coming in, my guy.
Starting point is 01:04:53 All right. Hey, thanks. Thanks, kids. You guys all have a good day. You too, brother.
Starting point is 01:04:57 We'll see you soon. Bye-bye. They're breaking up for sure. Actually, I'm actually feeling like they're not going to break up. Jeff, call us back with a bellied update. We want to know how I'll win.
Starting point is 01:05:09 I believe, I believe in love, Charlie. And I think it's going to, I think they're going to, make it. I don't not hear Jeff say you loved her. I did not hear that. He actually said that he loved
Starting point is 01:05:19 us. Oh, that's cool. Well, you might have been nervous. Hello, Rita. This is Miles and Charlie from Belli that podcast. How are we doing today? I'm good. How are you? Good. Bellian up to the bar with us. What's on your mind? Oh, not much.
Starting point is 01:05:35 I honestly... One second. Mine is number two. You know, I'm out come by. finding rye and i honestly had like the last three hours to just chit chat sitting here by myself and now we're finishing the field that everybody's going to be asking a bunch of questions so i apologize oh no no worries yeah no worries that's on charlie for yapping too long um on the phone earlier that we missed your window oh sorry i didn't realize rita that's my bad that's okay that's
Starting point is 01:06:09 okay. No worries. Yeah. So anyway, honestly, when I left the voicemail, I don't even know what I really called about. I kind of forgot about it. Jared, what would she say? He said you had to call in to defend women a little bit. Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah. So, um, I guess I feel like you probably got mostly a male dominant fouling, maybe. I don't know. I listen to you guys a lot, but I feel like it's mostly kind of AI subjects if you want a stereotype. I don't know. Well, I will point out you are our fourth person we've talked to today.
Starting point is 01:06:51 And you are our third woman that we've had on the podcast. Really? Yeah. No way. Yeah. So what were the other topics? Well, one was into art and artists out there in the, in the Bay area. And another one was mostly just an ADHD call where it was kind of a brain dump of a big old brain
Starting point is 01:07:12 dump and we enjoyed that. Yeah. Okay. All right. And then we did have one guy on and he was talking about that he bought too many boats and his girlfriend left him. So he was trying to figure out how to keep as many boats as boats as possible and still keep his girlfriend. Yeah. So if anything, someone may need to call in and defend men right now. That's true. Maybe. Oh, okay. Well, maybe not. Hmm. Yeah. That's a great question.
Starting point is 01:07:40 calling in to defend women because Miles brings up the ball and chain thing every once in a while. Well, maybe, kind of. And I guess I work in a male dominant industry. So I'm a brown guys a lot. And I just always had the notion that like, we kind of know we're crazy, but we can't help it. Like, that's how God made us with the hormones and all the stuff and the time of the month. Like, we can't. We know we're being batshit crazy sometimes.
Starting point is 01:08:10 So you're calling in to defend hairdressers and nurses then. Well, you know what I was thinking about, though, too, but there's probably some exceptions to the rule. So there's probably, there's probably like beyond crazy. And then there's like status quo. You're not willing to call in and defend them is what you're saying. You're explaining. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:33 I just want to explain, you know. Well, explain it to us. Yeah. Yeah. I want you to woman explain a woman's mind. to two guys bellyed up to the bar. I'd love to know. Let's hear.
Starting point is 01:08:44 Okay. So every 28 to 30 days, we have a cycle. You know, remember eighth grade health class? I don't know. Oh, do I? Yeah. So, like, I guess I listened to a more scientific podcast one time. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:09:03 Whoa. What does that mean? It was like a, like a psychologist or something. Well, Miles is an exercise science. exercise scientists. So what's the difference, I guess, is the question. Well, she was explaining like how every week of the month, a women's body and stuff, like you really have, you know, the kind of a different season. And, you know, some weeks you feel productive. And some weeks, you know, all your hormones are going crazy. And you want to like
Starting point is 01:09:31 throat punch your husband because he's chewing. And there was the science behind that. Yeah. Mine's less chewing and more breathing. She doesn't like. it when I breathe. Well, you are a mouth breather sometimes, miles. See? So, yeah, mine's chewing. Sometimes my nose will do a little whistle thing. I got to leave the room.
Starting point is 01:09:51 But there was like the science behind it. I don't remember any of that. But it's like your, your noise and your ears are like heightened. And like, you know, you're just more irritable and blah, blah, blah. So I just feel like there's times in life where we know we're being psychotic. But we can't, like, that's how Jesus made us. It's not our fault. You can't hate on us.
Starting point is 01:10:12 Oh, I can. Here's a question for you. Why do you think Jesus made you guys psychotic? I think Eve messed that one up for us all. I don't know. So the infallible Jesus Christ, you think messed up when he created women? Well, there might be a plan behind it. We don't know the plan.
Starting point is 01:10:31 Okay. Nice save. Yeah. Yeah. God's plan. We were all created in his image, right? Well, men, men, Men do some crazy things too, right?
Starting point is 01:10:43 What's the craziest thing you think men do? Craziest thing men do. I would say listening could be better. I don't know if that's a crazy thing. What did you say? Listening, you know, like picking up on social cues, like when you, I don't know. Sorry, what did you say? She said pool cues, Miles.
Starting point is 01:11:06 She said on pool cues? Yeah, she said men are. not good at picking up pool cues. Are you good at pool? Can you do trick shots? I didn't say, like, were you joking about pool? I never said pool.
Starting point is 01:11:18 Oh, you didn't. I could have swore you said pool. I said pool cues. Picking up on social cues. Social cues. Got it. Sorry. You got to be clearer next time.
Starting point is 01:11:28 Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. And that's, and that folks is how you gaslight a woman. That's it. There's all there. See? Yeah. Yeah, we're messing with you. And so we're just yanking your chain. Yanking your chain at the end of a long day. I figure we should tell you we're messing with you so you don't go psychotic on us, you know. Yeah, that's like I got my brother going to yell at me here. We don't, we don't know which week of the cycle you're in. So we're kind of playing with fire.
Starting point is 01:12:02 This is true. The second. What happens? This is good. This is good information. So let's go. There's. four weeks of cycle. She's talking to her brother. Hang on. Oh, no, I'm not. Okay. You got to listen, Charlie. I don't listen. I'm a man. You're part of the problem. I'm a man. So, all right, there's four weeks to a cycle. I want you to give us the, the rundown on what guys can expect in each week of the cycle. So week one, what kind of emotions and or behavior we're going to be dealing with? Week one, we want to just, like, we'll say that's period week, right? That's what I'm going to call it. I don't know. I mean, I'm not, the only experience I have is this last 25 years in my life with us. So I'm not like educated on it. Just self-experience.
Starting point is 01:12:48 Yeah. Well, that's your expert. That's a lot of, you've had a lot of periods. So. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So week one, period week, we just want to die. We're emotional. Our physically, our body feels like shit.
Starting point is 01:13:03 Like just stabbing pains and cramps and all that. That sucks. So you're not just kind of down on life. Why don't you just like not do that? You know, that sounds terrible. Well, the worst for it is is now like they say menopause is worse. Oh boy. And it's got men in it too.
Starting point is 01:13:24 I know. I mean, that's just insult to injury right there. Yeah. Why isn't it called a woman pause? I got my. Because it feels like the men's paws are just stabbing you or or holding over. your head so you get hot flashes or something. Yeah. Just a second. I got a
Starting point is 01:13:42 oh yeah. Do your thing. Do the work deal. We're just hanging. If you shut it off, it'll come off easier. That's braces trick. Do you want to say hi to Charlie Barron's? Like Charlie. Hey, how you doing? Eric says hi. Eric, my buddy Miles says hi to you. And Miles says hi too. Fricking Charlie cases. Well, you know, Miles. That's what you get when you virtue signal all the women
Starting point is 01:14:10 that you're an ally, you know, you get more shoutouts. Now you know my trick. Now you know my trick. Hey there, ladies. I'm on your side. Not like my buddy, my old. Do you want to do this part? Do you want to set it on?
Starting point is 01:14:27 That's what she's on. Well, wait. Do you want me to do this? You feel like we're flying. A huge cliffhanger, though. I want to know the week's bad and everyone knows about period week but I want to know the other weeks. Why? What do you think?
Starting point is 01:15:03 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I want to know. Wait. I'd explain a lot of my life. My phone connected to the Bluetooth on the pickup. We heard it.
Starting point is 01:15:14 Sorry. You do? Oh, okay. Sorry, this is a mess. I'm telling you for real. The last three hours could have just chit-chat. Oh, Miles screwed the pooch. He just kept talking to this guy about his boats and I don't.
Starting point is 01:15:27 You know, I tried wrapping it up. How many boats is too many boats in a woman's mind? How many boats? Three, I feel like would be excessive. Okay. Okay. What was the number? He had four.
Starting point is 01:15:40 Including a jet ski. Did he have, was he financially like? Nope. No, he's a thousand square foot house. But all his boats were paid off. All his boats were paid off. No debt. No debt at all or just no boat debt.
Starting point is 01:15:54 Well, no boat debt. He does have a thousand square foot situation. which we don't know if that's paid off or not. We never asked. And all those boats are sitting in this front yard. Yeah, he was definitely choosing to live in a little house. Anyway, back to the weeks. We understand, I think we understand period week.
Starting point is 01:16:15 It's the one that gets the most attention. They feel terrible. Not in a good mood. You know, all of that. I get that, right? Yeah. What's week two? Probably like life's okay.
Starting point is 01:16:28 again, you know? We're ambitious, like ready, you know, you want to take on the world. You're ready to be real organized and motivated. Okay. So I should, I should not do any chores all the other three weeks of the month. I should save him for that so that I can definitely get some help from my wife. Well, I don't know if that's good advice. I wouldn't say that at all.
Starting point is 01:16:54 But Charlie, she gave too much information. You got to be careful. with all the information. I mean, now it's just like, all right, Miles will use it. The chores until second week of the month.
Starting point is 01:17:05 And then we'll go gangbusters together. And I only got to do half the chores. Miles, we'll use any information you have. Yeah. Don't, yeah, don't make Ann not like me because I told you something bad.
Starting point is 01:17:19 You know, maybe that's, yeah, I'm giving out too many secrets. Maybe this is what, well, and that's, I guess that's what got me thinking about this,
Starting point is 01:17:27 too, is because, you know, nobody ever, you're not supposed to talk about it. You know, like, nobody's ever like, let's, you know, it's hush, hush. And I got, like, it's a safe spot, though.
Starting point is 01:17:37 Yeah. Well, I got, here's where I have three daughters. Me and my husband have three daughters. And you're 25? Oh, no, God, no. She's had a period for 25 years. Oh, so 25 plus.
Starting point is 01:17:49 Girls don't come out of the womb with a period. I didn't. Now I know. Now I know. Charlie was not listening in health class. Now I know. Now I know. Now I.
Starting point is 01:17:57 I know. Shocker. So 25 plus 12-ish. 12-ish. Yeah. Yeah, you're close. Yeah, yeah. Real good.
Starting point is 01:18:07 So, but we have three daughters, and he doesn't know, like, his life is about to get, like, ruined when they hit that phase of life. You know? Maybe let him buy a boat. Yeah. Maybe he sounds like a guy who actually needs a boat in his life. That's a true. We do live by the lake. Well, there you go.
Starting point is 01:18:27 All right. So here we go. Week one. Period week. Period week, aka. Guys fishing trip week. Yes. Week two. Chore week. Ambitious, energetic, life's normal. What's week three? So I didn't listen that close on this other podcast. I don't really know. But from your experience. We'll go with kind of normal. Maybe some oily skin. I don't don't know. Week three, oily skin. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:02 And then week four? Week four is where you just want to murder somebody for chewing too loud, you know? I thought that was week one. No, that's PMS is before your period. Oh, that's right. So that's when you just want to like, throw punch somebody. You know, from what I understand about the cycle, there's there, I thought there was like a horny week in there somewhere, which week's horny week?
Starting point is 01:19:24 I would go probably week four but you also want to murder them so it's really bad All right now I'm starting to understand why different kinks exist That's that's maybe true I never thought about it that way All right All right so we got basically like half of the months
Starting point is 01:19:50 Just shot Well no actually no actually no No, just the one, because, you know, you know, the week four is still a good week, even though it's, there's a volatile emotional spectrum. We'll take it. Yeah. You know, the good with the bad. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:07 Yeah. Okay. So it's true. All right. So week one, go on a fishing trip. Week two, do your chores. Yeah. Week three, normal life and week four is sex.
Starting point is 01:20:23 is that an accurate assumption? That would be accurate. Yeah, I could say that. From a men's perspective, that's a woman cycle. There you go. Now you've figured out. Jared, can we make a chart for that? I would like to see an updated chart.
Starting point is 01:20:39 It's like periods for guys, for dummies, you know? Yeah. AKA guys. Yeah. All right. This is actually very informed. What other secrets would you like to reveal to us about women? I don't know
Starting point is 01:20:55 but I don't know I feel like it's just I feel like we just I just wanted to really say like I think we know we're being crazy and like irrational sometimes but you it's like an outer body experience you can't help it though
Starting point is 01:21:09 yeah you're like later you think about it and you're like well that was you know but we're never going to admit to you know nobody's admitting this so that's good so for any fellas out there in a relationship and they're like,
Starting point is 01:21:24 I just want you to admit that you were wrong in that scenario. Not happening. Not happening. I don't even ask for it. I think the thing that I have learned, though, and what she basically just said is that if you're a guy out there
Starting point is 01:21:38 and your gal's acting a little crazy, have some empathy and say like, oh, it's obviously because you're on your period. Yeah, you don't need to win the argument. Or, oh, wow, you're PMSing right now. I understand. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:54 So say that to their face. Yes. I would be okay with that. You're all about it. If you said it to my face, I'd be like, okay, you're right. Be an ally to them. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:05 Say like, oh, this is the one normal week you got. Nice to say, say like, nice to have you back. I know it's not going to last long. This is the girl I love. This is, hey, there you are. I knew you're in there somewhere. Yeah, that's okay. Let's get some chores done, huh?
Starting point is 01:22:26 Well, we got the momentum going. Let's get some dishes and cilantro done. What do you say? I'm glad that we figured all this out. So, Miles, here's what I think. I think you go try this on and this week. Well, I think we should do a simultaneous. And then you let me know how that goes and then I'll...
Starting point is 01:22:42 You're right. I'll go ahead. I'll be a trailblazer. I'll do that. And then I'll report back to you. And then you get to, you know, learn from any mistakes that I would have. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:52 Or successes. I think there's a lot of success in those. Hey, crazy. How you doing? Hey. Yeah. Oh, she's back. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:06 I don't know. I just say, I don't know. I feel like you're turning this. I don't know. Turning what? This is life is all, have you ever watched the movie swap? You got young kids? Swapped.
Starting point is 01:23:20 Yeah. It's a new. like Pixar movie or some shit about understanding each other by communication and that's what this is really about you know oh well maybe I'll have to look that one up
Starting point is 01:23:32 we've watched a lot of blueie that's been my favorite yeah that's blueie blueie is so good I do watch blueie yeah yeah bandit
Starting point is 01:23:43 bingo got it figured out yeah but they're the problem is is their fantasy there's no parents out there they're like bandit and dad or whatever his name is or is he bandit you don't think so chile and bandit right chili there we go there's the little sister are you like them are you doing constant activities and fun and playful things oh god no no but you there's like subtle jokes all
Starting point is 01:24:11 the time with like like there's times when me and my husband laugh and my kids are like they don't get the joke like it's fine no i think it's a great show i i do and enjoy it myself All right. Good, good. So I do have to tell you, Charlie, though. Yeah. Well, I've been out in a rye field for two straight days. And I've got to tell you, I've been watching a bald eagle. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:24:36 And I watched it take two rabbits for lunch and dinner. It's the circle life. It sure is. Yep. Yeah, it's kind of cool. Those eagles, man. and they take no prisoners. Yeah, yep.
Starting point is 01:24:54 You ever hear an eagle, you hear an eagle screech? No, I was trying to figure out kind of what noises they made earlier because I was probably 100 feet from one. You would think that an eagle would sound like. I was just trying to get to scare away and it just was just chewing on this rabbit. Yeah, they're not scared much.
Starting point is 01:25:11 Didn't care. I was, no, didn't care that I was there. I mean, if you were sitting down for a bowl of Hassam-feffer, I don't think you'd move for an eagle. Yeah. But egos, their cry is like a little wimpy. Like you think like you see a bald eagle would be like, hey there, mama, how you doing? But instead it's like, hey there, mama, how you doing? Oh, I'll have to listen.
Starting point is 01:25:34 Listen better next time. Yep. Yep. Yeah. What's wrong, Miles? I learned something. That was a tough listen. Why do you know, like my ego voice in Miles?
Starting point is 01:25:44 I don't like it at all. What's wrong with my ego voice there, my mom? You sound like Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson is a little bit lower in the caliber. You sound like Towley on South Park. That is true. That's exactly what I sound like. Oh, goodness.
Starting point is 01:26:00 Oh, goodness gracious. It seems like a safe space here with Rita. Yeah. What other questions in your mind do you have about women that I think that maybe in not every room we can ask? So what? Like, what do I want to know? Like, no, we want to know some stuff from you. Oh.
Starting point is 01:26:18 Well, that also, what do you want to know about Ben? What do you guess? What do you think? Do you think men gaslight as much as, as much as they say we do? I think women just overanalyze things way more than men do. Like, like we, we are wondering all the time, like how you feel about things and this and that. And you've not even thought about it. No.
Starting point is 01:26:40 We're like, hey, I wonder. Like, that's why I feel it is in my relationship. Like I said that I'm like, I wonder why fish like worms. Worms going around out of the lake, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Uh-huh. That's, I've been wondering that for a few years now.
Starting point is 01:26:54 But I'm, you know, and we're, yeah, like we're more, um, how do I want to, trying to think of a scenario or something. Yeah, where we're thinking like, oh, did he think this? Did you think that? What about this? And he's wondering about a worm and a fish. Well, we'll turn the table. No, no deeper than that.
Starting point is 01:27:12 Yeah. What do you want to know about guys that we can answer? I don't know. I feel like I've just, I'm happily married. I feel like I've just, I just, I just. I just have to figure the one guy out. That's it. You know, I'm not trying to, you know, figure a whole sea out.
Starting point is 01:27:28 I got mine. We're happily married. Life is good. What have you learned? What's in the husband Bible for you? We're just really deep in parenthood right now. And that's just about where life is. And the thing that gets me is love him.
Starting point is 01:27:46 He's great, hardworking dad. but there's a lot of shit mom does and he doesn't yeah he doesn't even know what happens just like oh okay taking care of great well that's not something move on so you've learned that he doesn't appreciate you is what you learned does that what it's something like maybe because like when i hear that question i'd be like oh i've learned that as long as i have a vacation booked on the schedule it could be a year from now i got a happy wife she likes a vacation to look forward to is what I've learned and that's specific to my wife you know yeah I thought that what makes him happy or something well just what have you learned about marriage
Starting point is 01:28:31 communication is great right so how do you how what have you what have you learned that what have you learned the way that he likes to communicate we got to be doing something like going for a You can't just say, hey, I want to talk. There you go. We have an activity. There we go. I actually did this to Charlie last night. I wanted to have a good chat with Charlie.
Starting point is 01:28:57 And so we went on, I brought my fishing rod out on the dock and knew that I'd be able to talk to Charlie because his brain is occupied by something else. Yep. Whereas if you just are sitting in the living room, Charlie will just get up and leave and we don't know where he goes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. That's true. I like having a couple things to occupy the mind.
Starting point is 01:29:17 You know, I'll say this. I've learned in my relationship that sometimes I just need to be told things like 12 to 15 times before they really truly sink in. Oh, you learn that in your relationship and you're okay with that. But when I do that to you, you get mad at me. Well, you're more mean about it, Miles. And you don't need to be. And this is good communication, Charlie, because, you know, we're kind of married in a sense. We are.
Starting point is 01:29:42 We are in a domestic partnership. And so that is a, thank you for pointing that out to me. next time I hammer home things that you need to remember, I will be nicer about it. Yeah, you'll remember that you've only told me five times. So I'm not a five-time Tom, you know, I'm a 12-time Charlie. I will start some stuff more. Time out, though. I feel like Jared's kind of like the workwife here.
Starting point is 01:30:06 He does all the organizing. Maybe I'm wrong with this. I feel like he lines everything up. I feel like he's, you know, in the background. Jared spends a bar stool. Jared spends a copious amount of time of bathroom in week four. Unbelievable.
Starting point is 01:30:26 One bathroom. And all the magazines in the office are gone. He just wants a little appreciation. The pages are stuck together. These guys get a lot of Sears catalogs. Good housekeeping. There is. Reed, I got a question.
Starting point is 01:30:43 Yeah. When women go to the bathroom at a bar, what are they talking about? I'm assuming in my experience when we all go in groups normally we're intoxicated. So could be anything. Could be CBA shoes could be, you know. That is such a lot. You're in there talking shit about guys.
Starting point is 01:31:06 That's what you're in there doing. We know it could be, could be venting. You know, could be venting about. I like how that's just a tone. It's like, we'll be like, oh, he was talking shit. And girls like, no, we were just venting. It's a way different. It is.
Starting point is 01:31:22 It is. It's healthy communication. It is. I mean, how bad do you want week one to be miles? Yeah, right. You got to blow the steam off a little bit. Example, we just had a family wedding. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:34 This week town. Okay. I like this. Wisconsin married Michigan. So it was a very little Midwest thing. Yeah. But anyway, my husband knew 10 months ago he needed a suit for this wedding. I know where this is going.
Starting point is 01:31:48 Two weeks prior, I'm like, you need, hey, I can't go try on suits for you. And, of course, busy time of year, we, you know, no time to do that. So anyway, that's what I was venting in the bathroom about all weekend. I had to go buy him three different suits and then, you know, bring them home for him to try on. Wow. It was a whole thing. Why didn't you send him out to buy the suits? He didn't have time.
Starting point is 01:32:16 What was he doing? He's way farm. So he's been working, doing hay and cattle and all of stuff. You get it. You get it. That was nice of you to go do that, though. I did make him return the ones that he didn't pick, though. That's fair.
Starting point is 01:32:30 That's fair. And he, yeah, said he didn't know how to do that. I said the Coles lady will help you. It's fine. Just going there with your receipt. You don't even need your receipt and calls. Yeah, but he leaves. He leaves.
Starting point is 01:32:41 She calls Coles and be like, hey, my husband is coming. You're going to know it's him because he's going to. walk in with a confused look on his face. And I'll warn you, it's his time of the month. So will you please approach him? Will you please approach me? Also, will you tell me what he says when you approach him? If he said, I've trained him to say, I'm married.
Starting point is 01:33:03 I have trained him to say, I'm married. I want to know if that's what he says to you and you approach him. Oh, yeah, yeah. No, hi, yeah. Dude, the bait of my existence is making sure I got like a suit for a wedding or something like that. Well, that's, I'm serious. And so his dad's not real healthy. And I'm like, I asked everybody, I'm like, we don't have a lot of dress.
Starting point is 01:33:28 He has no dress clothes. So like, this needs to fit for this wedding and maybe a funeral in the future. I need to know. Because I'm not going again. I'm not going again. Get it a little bigger so he can grow into it. Right. Right.
Starting point is 01:33:42 Right. So. although he did return the pink tie that my daughter picked out, she was not happy about that. It was pretty sad. Shocked to return that. I know. I know.
Starting point is 01:33:54 That's what we told them. You're not going to go pick it out yourself? This is what you get. Wow. I like that move. That's fun. You get what you get and you don't throw a fit. Yep.
Starting point is 01:34:02 That's exactly. Even throwing a slim fit one just to see. How'd it work? Is that? Terrible. Is stuff like that a subtle way for women to try and hint that a guy should lose weight. No, I was just being real passive-aggressive about me having to go buy these suits.
Starting point is 01:34:19 So you clearly were in months, you were in clearly in week number one then. Or four, you should have waited to do the suit until week two, and then it probably would have been gone better for you. It would have been a little better. Yeah, this is true. Oh, but yeah, that's, I don't know, maybe that's a difference. That's just, I don't know if that's me or all women, are all women. super passive aggressive.
Starting point is 01:34:46 Well, you know, everyone's got their moments of it. It's kind of fun. I'm passive aggressive to miles sometimes. Yeah. My wife just kind of bullies me, honestly. It's not even passive aggressive. She does bully you. She just is kind of mean to me.
Starting point is 01:35:01 Roast you to your face. And why do you think that is? Week one. Because it's probably week one or week four. Oh, yeah. Does it depend on the week? So now you guys are going to start figuring, like, you're going to start making notes. Well, I'm going to get the app.
Starting point is 01:35:13 by me start tracking her mood. There you go. There you go. That is, you know, they got the tracker for women. We should have a tracker. Like every day you go, what was your wife's mood like? And then it'll start giving you alerts. Like, hey, just so you know, tomorrow's the start of week one.
Starting point is 01:35:29 Like, it'll be like, you know, like a nuclear bunker shutdown. It's like at the beginning of the purge when they all, they do the, and everyone, locks all their doors. The back is pretty open. She's not on the list of you right now.
Starting point is 01:35:47 Sorry, I'm not. Don't worry about it. What would you do? She was working. Oh, yeah. We had three solid hours to talk.
Starting point is 01:35:56 I know. We're moving equipment around. So now it's, yeah, back to my. What's a good idea, though? Do you want to talk to my brother and ask him what week he's on?
Starting point is 01:36:04 He seems kind of, I, yeah, get your brother on the line. Okay. One second. He's the. What's his name?
Starting point is 01:36:11 Eric. Eric. Eric. Eric, yep. With a K or a C? With a C. Hey, you're wanted on the phone. We're going to put a speaker phone on.
Starting point is 01:36:23 Oh, so you put words on her mouth. You wanted to be on the phone. Hello. Hi, Eric. How's it going, guys? Good, how are you? Just living the dream. We would love to, we have some questions about your sister's mood right now.
Starting point is 01:36:36 We're trying to figure out which stage in the cycle she's at. She's been irritable lately or has she been pretty? motivated and ambitious. Oh, I think she's in the middle right now. Okay. So we caught her on a good week is what you're saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's good.
Starting point is 01:36:56 Do you have a cycle yourself, Eric? Oh, I think I have my good days and bad days. Yeah. That sounds about right. Nice. Are you married or you got a girlfriend? Yeah, I'm married. Yep.
Starting point is 01:37:08 Married in four kids. Oh, wow. How's that going for you? married with four kids okay he knows his way around week four yeah he sure does yeah week four is the horny week
Starting point is 01:37:22 according to your sister yeah that's that sounds right yeah yeah that sounds right Eric so uh we're yeah what's you farm in these days we just finished combine and rye there you go let's go nice they make some rye whiskey
Starting point is 01:37:39 that'll be slick. Where's your farm at? We're up in the thumb of Michigan. Oh, in the thumb, huh? The real Mitten State. I don't know about that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You get over to Wisconsin much, Eric? I, not much at all.
Starting point is 01:37:56 Hopefully we get over there a lot more now with our brother just married a girl from Milwaukee. Oh, wow. Yeah. Did you have your suit more than a day before the wedding? I got my, yeah, I got mine on Wednesday. day. Good for you.
Starting point is 01:38:12 He was in the wedding. He was the best man. I was the best man. Oh, there you go. Okay. What kind of speech did you go with? Did you go funny or did you go roast them or sweet? We right in the middle.
Starting point is 01:38:25 We had our little packers and lions fun. Yeah, that was true. There was a lot of go pet go screaming. I bet there was. I hate that. I hate that so much. Oh, why. It's a great chant.
Starting point is 01:38:37 They represented well. We had our little lion stuff. they had their packer stuff. It was a good, it was a good time. Good. They're good people, good people all around.
Starting point is 01:38:46 I like it. You know, and hey, maybe we can both be the Mitten State, but we're just shaking hands. You can't. They're the Mitten State. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:54 Question, Charlie, do you have, like in the Wisconsin, in the thumb area, is everything, like we have thumb cellular, we have thumb welding, we have thumb electric,
Starting point is 01:39:03 we have, wow. That's cool. Everything is like called thumb. That's pretty cool. No, we don't. So like that's,
Starting point is 01:39:09 our thumb is door county. see no everything in the tri-county area up here's thumb something that's some drones thumb well yeah sounds like they're the real some office supply well it's all of them our thumb looks like it got hacked off by a table saw so that's kind of from eric like that one yeah we're coming to see you when you come to sagging on December we got tickets oh real good and if you guys do want to go to a baseball game instead he will refund under tickets, by the way. You know what, Miles.
Starting point is 01:39:43 I've seen you before, Charlie, when you were in Lexington. Oh, yeah. Did you like it or no? It was good, real good. Thank you. We want to meet and greet. We want to come backstage, rubbed elbows with the famous people. We'll put you on the list.
Starting point is 01:39:54 We'll put you on the meet and greet list. Yeah. All right. We got you all set. You'll be, go at a will call. You'll have some meet and greet passes. And we'll get, uh, we'll get to meet you then. Hopefully week.
Starting point is 01:40:07 Hopefully the cycle lines up. Two or three. Week two, three, four will be okay. Four will be okay for your husband. It will. Yeah, right. It's not that kind of meeting greet. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I walked into that one. Well, real good. You are the oldest of, you said, like, eight or nine brothers and sisters. Second oldest to 12 kids. Second oldest. I'm the oldest to eight. Oh, God. Yeah, you've got your hands full. You guys could share war stories. Yeah. That's why I'm okay.
Starting point is 01:40:41 We got to. What number is your sister? She's three. Three. I'm four. Real middle child. Yeah. You just rub that middle child wrong by not even knowing her number, Eric.
Starting point is 01:40:55 Yeah, exactly. Just shoved in the middle. Yeah. Yeah. I was, I was forgot multiple times as a child to be picked up from events. Oh, yeah. My brother got left at his own first communion.
Starting point is 01:41:10 Yeah, that's a true story. Yeah, yeah. Tell him I know how he feels. Yeah, a priest had to bring him back. That's how that goes. All right. Oh, goodness. We got you guys locked in here.
Starting point is 01:41:25 Well, thanks for calling. Thanks for the chit chat. Yeah, no, thank you. We appreciate Chirita. And tell your husband, we says hi. And Eric, thanks for chit-chat too. Okay, he already walked away. It's all business around here right now.
Starting point is 01:41:41 Fair enough. We'll let you guys get back to it. All right. You guys have a great day. All right. Bye-bye now. See up. That was maybe our most educational call we've ever had.
Starting point is 01:41:53 It was. I can't wait for you to work these out. Work out the kinks on Ann and keep notes, okay? Take notes. There's a working out the kinks joke in there somewhere. That'll be week four. That'll be week four. Is that it for this episode?
