Wave.
The legendary Kale Mitchell.
In this motherfucker.
This is a very big deal that you're here, bro.
Thank you for having me, man.
I'm a little starstruck, but we'll get through it.
I can't just be me at, you know, like, here's your pizza.
So I was like, well, here's your pizza.
I could be at a red light.
They're like, repair man, man, man, man.
Then they said, be impersonation.
So I did Coach Chambers.
If it was Valentine's, he didn't care.
He was like, don't nobody had no.
Love and hell, shut up!
We couldn't say nothing, so you would just see me and Kenan,
look at each other, like, we got to show.
You know, so I just T-Pain that thing.
You know what I mean?
It was just like, I do, I do, I do.
Like having black characters was major.
Like for me watching you every week, you and Keenan,
like that was major for me.
You being here, bro, I'm just like, this is Cail Mitchell, man.
My palms are sweaty, my armpits are dripping.
Like, I'm just, I'm so blown away, bro.
What up, y'all?
This is Big Bro with Kid Cutty, a wave original, presented by Adobe Ackaback.
I'm your Big Bro, Scott, coming to you live from The Addict in My Mind.
This week, I'm chopping it up with comedy icon Kel Mitchell.
From all that to Keating and Kel to Good Burger,
Kelle gave us some of the most hilarious legendary comedy performances of the 90s.
We talk about the epic journey Kail's been on since he was a kid on Nickelodeon
and bond over our love for sketch comedy.
So get your popcorn out, kick your feet up, and enjoy.
See you on the other side.
The legendary Kale Mitchell.
In this motherfucker.
Oh yes.
Kail, how you feeling, bro?
I'm feeling good, man.
What's up, man?
This is a big episode for me because I watched you.
I grew up watching you on TV, man.
And I would be so excited.
to tune in to all that, to just see what new characters you were going to do,
to see some of my favorite characters, Coach Creighton,
like all the stuff that you used to do on all that.
Ed from Goodberger, you know, it was really exciting for me as a kid, man.
So this is a very big deal that you're here, bro.
Thank you for having me, man.
I'm a little starstruck, but we'll get through it.
Thank you for having me, bro.
I'm a fan, too.
I love your music, man.
Oh, for real.
And you're acting.
Yeah.
Go on, man.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I do a little bit.
Little razzle-dazzle.
But man, like, you know, like, take me to the beginning.
Like, how did this, you know, this acting journey start for you?
Were you, like, one of those kids that was, like, you know, super alive and energetic
and, like, making characters and goofing off all the time?
All the time.
Yeah.
Goofing off, doing voices.
I was doing that a lot.
Getting on my big sister nerve.
It was crazy.
And my parents were like, yo, like, he's.
into everything, but I want him to go on the right path,
be in something, so they tried everything,
like every hobby possible to men.
So I did, like, karate, kung fu, science, boy scouts, everything.
You know what I mean?
Choir, but the thing that stuck was acting.
You know, it was a theater.
I grew up on us outside of Chicago.
Nice.
So it was a theater called ETA Creative Vars Foundation
that we used to go to and they used to do amazing plays
and original plays, things like that.
and they had a summer course
and they were like,
yo, you need to go to that.
You know, do something, you know,
that's positive, you know what I mean?
So you're just staying in the streets.
And I was just like, all right, so did that.
And man, I was just like,
yo, this is where I need to be.
You know what I mean?
I was like, this is where I need to be.
And I did like a monologue on stage
and it was super cool, man.
It just opened my eyes up.
And it wasn't like,
because I wasn't one of those kids
where it was like, oh, get on TV.
Right.
This was an outlet.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
This is just a positive hobby in between everything else I had going on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, watching you in these, doing these different characters
has seemed very natural.
Yeah.
You know what I appreciate that.
This is, this is, this was like you, you know.
Yeah.
How much of, like, I really want to, I want to talk about all that.
Okay.
Specifically because for me and I'm sure a lot of fans of that show,
we don't know how it works, right?
We don't know how a character is developed or any of that.
And I'm really curious, like, you know, I'm going to ask you specifically about each character.
Like, Ed, for example, from Goodberger, when that sketch was created, how did you develop that character?
Like, what was, like, was it everybody in the room kind of like building ideas and, like, the wig and like, oh, he's going to give them braids?
And, like, how did it all happen?
That's a funny story.
Okay.
So a lot of my characters are, you know, based on people that I met in Chicago.
Okay.
You know, I was a theater kid, so within theater I had to do, you know, my own makeup,
the wigs, the whole nine.
We would do everything, you got to theater ourselves.
Right, right, right.
So it was easy for me to like really jump into like the characters, you know, because
Shata Ranakoujahi, my drama teacher, he was really into like the origin of your character.
Right.
You know, what's your character's story?
What is you like to eat?
What is like you're just not just learning the lines, you know?
And I took that and really, really, you know.
that and really put that into these characters from all of that.
So for me, when I'm in these outfits, not to sound crazy,
but it's like, these are my friends, these my people, you know what I mean?
Like I put all the ways, I see Coach Creighton and it's like, hey, yo.
So basically with Ed, to start there, how that kicked off was that we used to do,
me and my cousin, shout out to Odias in Ontario, we used to do like the surfer do voice.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know, we on the South Side of Shire, so we, you know, we were, you know, we were,
weren't from California, but we watched like, say, by the bill, shows like that.
Bill and Ted.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So we would be like, well, dude, yeah.
You get into a L?
Yeah.
Did you listen to that new common record?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
We would be just talking straight.
Oh, my job.
Chicago, you know what I mean?
But talking as, you know, that.
So.
I didn't expect to hear the voice today, bro.
Yeah, it just pop out.
It just pop out.
No.
So do it.
So I remember like when we got the show, it's like a sketch show.
So I, you know, love and living color.
The Wayne's brothers are like heroes for me, you know what I mean?
So watching them and Jim Carrey and all these amazing, you know, artists to be on a show
that's like that, you know what I mean?
For like kids.
Yeah, yeah.
So then it was a thing of like we started to discover where they had us like, they would
have characters and we would come on the table re-day.
And it would be all these different characters.
And the writers would go, okay, we want to kill her to play this person,
you play this person, you play this person.
A lot of my characters came from my audition.
So I did like, I want to say like five or seven different voices.
Because when I auditioned, they were like, hey, do you do impersonations?
And I was like, yeah, but I did impersonations of like actual people that I knew, like in my hood.
Like Coach Creighton is actually based on one of my coaches in my high school.
You know what I'm saying?
So that was the voices I was doing.
And I'll get back to Coach Green.
Yeah, that's the next one.
That's the next one.
For Ed, when they were like, okay, it was a pizza, he was a pizza guy first.
So it was a sketch called Dream Remote.
And Josh Server, who was also from Chicago, he had his remote where he could stop time.
And so he got his pizza to come quick.
And I was a type of thing where I just was like, I can't just be near.
You know, like, here's your pizza.
You know what I mean?
I was like, I got to give him something.
So I was like, well, here's your pizza.
And I did that.
And they were like, hey, wait a minute.
That's the voice.
Then he did the audition.
Okay, cool.
Then they created the whole world of just like Good Burger.
You know what I did?
This Good Burger guy.
And when I had, when I was the piece of guy, it was no wig.
There was nothing.
Okay.
No outfit.
Just the hat, you know.
And I remember when it was Good Burger, I was like, I got to give him something.
Like he got to had a walk and he has to have a hair.
And I remember going into the hair and makeup room looking around.
And I see these brandy I want to be down.
you know Bob Braids right
and I saw that you know
shout out to Brandy that's my that's my old girl
I saw that and I put that on
and I just was like
and I was like oh snap
I was like this going to kill him
this works because nobody saw it yet
I was like this going to kill him and I walked out
with the wig and I did the voice and they just
they fell out man
they just they fell out and I had no
idea that
that particular character like Ed
You know what I mean?
Would just still be killing it today.
Like still, like, I mean, for us to do part two
and it just have crazy numbers
and it's the number one movie on Paramount Plus still
and it's just like, it's crazy, man.
It's a blessing, bro.
Yeah, I wanted to get into Goodberger,
the first movie and the sequel as well.
But let's stay on all that.
For sure.
That's a whole chunk of your life, you know.
We got to talk about these iconic moments.
For sure.
Coast Creighton.
Yeah.
You said this is based on a real coach that you had in Chicago.
Facts.
Explain how this happened.
Okay.
Did you just tell that this is also part of your audition date, right, Coach Wheaton?
Yeah.
So they saw that and they were like, look, we got to put that in the show.
Yeah, so my audition, I was super late to my audition.
Okay.
Never had done that, but I was late, me and pops got turned around.
He got there.
I had finals that day, too.
You know what I mean?
So it was like, I had school on the mind.
You know what I mean?
Right, right, right.
Parents were real, like, strict on education, but they also let us be creative.
Right, right, right.
So I'm like, you know, I'm in study mode.
So we get there, right, and I come in, I do a monologue, and they were, I messed it up.
Never do that, right?
And I was like, ah, they're pulling inside this, right?
And they were like, hey, why don't you go out, practice it?
Come back in.
I'm like, okay, cool.
So do that.
Come back in, kill it.
Then they said, do impersonations.
I said vet.
And I'm like, I don't want to do anybody that's.
already famous to me do my characters,
my uncle and all these other people.
So I did Coach Chambers,
who was a coach at my school.
And it didn't matter, like, what was going on?
If it was Valentine's, he didn't care.
He was like,
don't nobody had no love in hell, shut up!
You know, that's just literally what it was.
And all the kids was like, you know,
if you was gang banging or you was a bad kid
or whatever you were doing, Chambers,
you know, you was why to talk to Chambers.
And it got crazy.
You know what I mean?
It got real crazy.
And he was just yell.
And so I just took that and how it just mad he was.
You know what I mean?
And it just had that voice.
And I did that in the room.
They loved that.
They thought that was hilarious.
And so every time that they were right a character,
it was super cool because, you know, you see the lines.
And it's like, it's a coach.
He's mad at the students.
They're going crazy.
And I'll look at that.
I'm like, oh, I got to be coach.
Let's do it.
That's what I'm going to throw his voice on there.
And you would try the voice in the table reads, like, just to see.
So this is the moment, like, when you're trying it for everybody.
So, you know, I was like, and then the first lounge,
die, get crazy little, you know, and then just I, my thing was to, like, make everybody fall out.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah, instantly.
Instantly.
Like, I'm not one of those guys where, like, let's wait to the audience show.
No.
Out.
Table read, first time, out the gate.
If I can knock y'all out, let's keep, let's keep going.
And so, yeah, man, did coach, Coach Creighton.
And, you know, then, of course, the mind of our amazing writers and an amazing team that was up there and I make up crew to give him like a black, a black tooth.
Like his tooth is out.
His tooth got knocked out.
He got, you know, he's bald.
You know what I mean?
And it just, it was just crazy.
So, you know, Chambers, that ain't you.
I wasn't trying to make them look like you.
Just the voice.
Because I was still, I was still kind of like spooked.
out from Chambers.
So that's what I was going to ask you.
Like, do people back in Chicago know that you were doing, like,
knowing where you got the inspiration from for these characters?
I didn't say it until later, right?
I didn't say it to later.
And it was funny because, you know, I do a lot of work in Chicago and charity work and
things like that.
And I went back to my whole high school.
Okay.
And this was recent.
And I'm looking around because I don't know if Chambers is going to be the back.
Just old Kathleen, I don't know what you said about me, you know what?
I'm still spoke.
He's probably like 75, 80 years old.
But I'm like, man, I ain't mean no harm, brother.
But yeah, man, like a lot of my friends, and they know, they remember.
And they know, you know.
And it was cool because it's not like now.
Like, now everything's on the phone and stuff like that.
So when we were shooting these shows, like, we would leave high school, go do it and
then still come back.
Like, me and Kenan still wanted to be enrolled in our school.
Really?
Yeah.
So, like, the first, like,
Two seasons, we were able to do it.
Because Nickelodeon at first was like more geared
towards a younger type of audience.
And we were in high school.
But then it got, when we started to blow up,
then it got crazy because obviously the freshman knew.
Because I was trying to be under radar.
I didn't know anybody know in my school
that I was on this show.
I didn't want them to know.
Really?
Yeah.
And the first episode came out the pilot.
And I remember I'm an artist too as well.
So I was in my class and I just hear my voice.
And I'm like, yo, what's going on?
And my teacher's playing like the show for everybody
because he happened to see it.
And so now the whole school like knows was cracking.
And I was just like, oh, no.
Was that crazy though?
It was crazy.
It was pretty crazy.
It was a really big school for people that's watched for Chicago,
they know.
So it's like we had different wings.
So it's almost like, you know, you had a south wing, the west wing, you know, of the school.
It was a big school on the south side.
And, you know, I'm, you know, I'm a,
was just trying to be under the radar.
Like when people found out, I'm like, no, I didn't mean that.
But I've had teachers that were like, hey, I saw boys the man was on your show.
Next time you go back.
It was a teacher.
She was single.
She was like, Susco was on there last week.
I think we need to talk.
Yo.
Yo, but yeah, man, it was.
But like I said, like we, because, you know, it would take a, we would do like five months to shoot.
And then, you know, we had the hiatus.
and then they had to edit it and all these different things.
So at that time, I'm finishing school already,
so nobody even knew what was going on until it premiered.
And then it was like, oh, snap, you know what?
But it was crazy, like living his life, then go to school.
Nobody know what you really did.
They just know you was gone.
Yeah.
Until it premiered.
And then it was like, oh, yo.
Yeah.
That kind of reminds me of the moment in my life
when I put out my first mixtape and it blew up,
but I was still working a 9 to 5.
And my fans were coming to store
and recognize me and be like,
yo, man, we love your mixtape, man.
It was so fine.
Wow, thank you.
Thank you.
Can I get this in the large?
Exactly.
Like, your teachers, like, praise you.
Like, we loved you on the show last night.
You just study for your final, where I will fail you.
Oh, I will fail you.
Real talk.
Oh, man.
Man, let's talk about repair man.
Oh, okay.
Repair man, man.
I like this, bro.
We're going to do all the characters.
I like this.
Yeah, no.
We're getting into the next.
Repair man, man.
I'm gonna do it for y'all.
I ain't wearing them cats, you know what they're like,
I don't want to talk about that.
Y'all, I'm gonna do it for you.
I don't do my characters, only when the lights were-
Yeah, it's cats like that.
I don't do that, I did that back in the day.
Yeah, I mean, but I love doing it.
And repair man, bro.
So how to, he was just a repair man.
That's literally all it was.
But, but like, like I said, like I grew up watching,
like, shout out to my dad too,
because he listened to like a lot of Richard Pryor records.
So he would always play them,
a lot for me all the time and I loved how Richard could do drama and comedy and the different
characters that he had in the brother can sing too you know what I mean so and I was really into the
rap pack and like you Sammy david junior all of that where it's like you have to be a triple
threat like you need to sing you need to dance you do all of that and in that theater background
helped me do that too so I approached every character like that so it was repair man I'm like okay
what's gonna be his voice and I just
remember electricity because he would, you know, the gag was, was that he was a repairman,
but he broke everything.
Yeah, he was like, okay.
So he got to be, okay, so he got to be, if he, the first thing I think I messed up was
like a TV.
So I'm just like, he shakes, right?
So if he shakes, he got to be got the shakes all the time.
Like, it's the electricity in him, baby.
So, so, and that's what it was.
It was all the time.
And I was just like, man.
So, you know, and then it was cool.
like when you were with a bunch of creatives because then at that point the makeup team they're like oh okay
hair his hair needs to be that way too you know what i mean so i have just like gray white hair that
maybe it wasn't white before but what do you got electrocuted it's just like all over the place
and uh it was just fun man and he became like almost like a superhero because yeah if you broke something
you hear to and fall through the ceiling and i love that man i love like the cool thing that they that they
that they did was they let us do a lot of our own stunts.
Well, me do a lot of my own stunts.
Yeah.
Because I just love being physical and the physicality.
But that's what I was going to ask you.
Like that that is one of the things that I noticed about you is that not a lot of comedians are physical.
Mm-hmm.
You know, I mean, you get a couple of them like, you know, the Jim Carries, the Chris Farley's.
Mullen, Tommy Davison.
Yeah, Tommy Davis is going to say Tommy Davidson.
Yeah.
Marlon Wayne, super physical.
How did that become a part of your comedy?
Was it just something that just happened naturally?
And is it just from your experience in school and theater and all that?
I'm going to say from my influences of watching the entertainers that I enjoy, like, some of the ones you mentioned.
Yeah.
You know, but then also too, dance.
Like, dance is a big part of, like, I was a dancer first.
So hip hop was first from in Chicago.
Nice.
So it was kind of like, some of my friends, you know, they went on the wrong route.
And I was like, I ain't no gangster.
So I ain't go do that.
But then I love like break dancing.
I love that.
And I love B-boying.
And so I got into like, you know, graffiti breaking the whole thing.
Like I was it.
I had a crew.
Shout out to Immortal Masters of Cryline.
What's up y'all?
I'm K.
So all my people's.
And so like, I was like, let me put that into my physicality as well.
You know, and I also like, like,
like John Ritter.
There was a I used to watch Three's Company,
late in night.
Yeah.
One of them type of, no, it was,
it was even older than that type of TV.
It was like, it was the ones you had to go,
so.
So I had it.
It was like, every time you turn your camera,
it was like, oh yeah.
And I remember like, I used to try to sneak and watch
and I had school in the morning
and I would have my like covers over the TV
because it was like really small.
But of course,
when you turn the channel,
they would hear it, right?
And so, like, I'm trying to do it really slow.
But I would watch Three's Company all the reruns.
And I remember it was an episode that he did
where he had to play two characters.
So he had to play his cousin
that was from out of town, this cowboy,
his team, in real country.
And he had to play himself.
And so he was playing both the characters
and had the girls thinking like,
this was a real person that he was.
Oh, this is my cousin.
Because, you know, he was trying to date this girl
and all this stuff like that.
And the girl, both girls that he was day,
ended up being in the same room at the same time.
So it was like a couch like this.
And so they stand in this way.
And so he's rolling back and forth playing the characters.
So he's rolling on the,
and it was just like, it kind of just blew my mind.
Like, yo, this is crazy.
He put on that earth and do these different voices.
And so for me, like, I would watch guys do that.
You know what I mean?
All the time.
And so like when I got to repair man
and I could do all these different characters,
it was just so fun to like just put their weirdness involved in it.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
They didn't repair man.
Like that's another one, man, where people will literally like call from, I could be in a red light.
They're like, repair man, man, man, man, man.
Which is cool.
It's either that or like, I love or soda.
Oh, bro.
I do, I do.
I do.
Bro.
Dude.
I mean, we could be at five star, rest of ride.
You know, me and my wife.
So like the waiter's like, can I get you something to drink?
Some orange soda.
Facts.
Facts.
Facts.
And they'd be scared.
Like they thought I was going to trip out.
And I'm dead.
And as soon as I'll go like, oh, no, it's all good.
But they're like, yes, because listen.
We have orange soda.
We have orange soda.
And it's really good.
And you should totally try it.
You should totally try it.
Oh, man.
Which one do you like?
You know, this one or that one.
Do you have a favorite character that you played on all that?
A favorite character I played on all that.
Coach Creighton is up there, bro.
Yeah.
Only because I got the yellow kids and, you know, and kick people around.
You know what I mean?
It's hysterical, man.
It's like, it's endless.
And then, you know, like another influence of mine is cartoons, you know,
because obviously, you know what I mean?
Puts Bunny and all these different characters.
And to see the physicality, how crazy they are, you know,
chaplain, you know, physical, you know what I mean?
So when you see all of that, I just, I just,
I just gravitated toward it.
I know this one, I think they had somebody come on set one time
because they was like,
we got to show him how to fall correctly because we're scared he might hurt him.
I mean, you know what I'm saying?
Because I just was that kid that I would try anything.
You know what I mean?
They say he busted the wall.
Okay, come on.
Let's bustle the wall.
Let's fall down.
Let's get crazy.
They would even write like the writers.
They started to do stuff where they go, they usually give, you know, the direction.
Like, okay, then the character does this, that's that another.
And then they said, then Kel does this thing.
And they just wouldn't put that there.
Then Kel does his thing.
That's in the description.
Because they don't know what I'm going to.
He's going to fall all over the place and he's going to do that, you know.
And then we go back to the lines.
And I just, I love that, man.
That's so dope.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Man, the music on all that, there was some legendary music on that show, man.
Like, like, I want to ask, like, how was that?
Like, being.
at the center of like the culture like
there could never be a show
like that right now for kids
that's putting like a rapper
like rap groups like hood rap groups on the stage
to perform man
or like dope R&B artist or like
talking about singing about sex
yeah we had some
we have some wilders which is funny like
when you go back and look at it
like 90s was a different place
Yeah, I see the clips on Twitter.
I'll just be like, yo, they had the locks there?
What the hell?
No, the one that they send me all the time is the Ice Cube would.
Oh, yeah.
And I remember, like, you remember what it happened, but you weren't even thinking.
You know what I'm having kids?
I'm like, they don't need to be saying, shake it all, shake it off.
Yeah.
And the kids are like, yeah.
Yeah, the kids and the audience are like, why are you cutting?
Anyway, I'm sorry, Q, man.
That's what happened.
You saw it.
Pick it off, forget it off.
Players club?
You're doing that record.
You're gonna do the players.
We be clubbing?
We be clubbing.
I mean, that's a hit.
It's a hit.
But yeah, man, like, imagine, like, I got my Walkman.
Take y'all back to the 19th.
I got my Walkman, bro.
And I'm listening to, like, everything, like, from immature to guru, you know what I mean?
Wu-Tang Clan, you know, I'm listening to everything.
You know what I mean?
And I'm listening to all these artists, TLC, you know what I mean?
And I'm listening to all these artists, you know what I mean?
is like killing it right now.
And they're one of my favorite artists,
you know what I being,
who didn't have a crush on TLC at that moment.
Right, right, right.
So now imagine, like, now you have this show
and every artist that you listen to
getting on the L in Chicago,
getting on the train,
all this different stuff
that now they're right in front of you.
You know what I mean?
It must be crazy.
It was mind blowing.
It was like, yo, okay, all right.
And TLC does the theme song.
Yeah, when did you find out
that they did the theme song?
Man, so, okay, so shout out to our music supervisors because they were amazing.
Oh, yeah, they were.
You know what I mean?
I mean, we were right up there.
Like, if I do a show, if I, because I have ideas to do a sketch comedy show.
Yeah.
Like, I need their contacts.
Yeah, bro.
Yeah.
Because they, it's so crazy those shows back in the day, especially Nickelodeon specifically.
It's, I don't know who, where they found these music supervisors.
But they had their hand on the pulse of the culture.
Facts.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Like they understood like who was watching their network.
You know what I mean, the audience and the different demographics in the world.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like having black characters was major.
You know what I mean?
Major.
Like for me watching you every week, you know, you and Keenan, like that was major for me.
Man.
You know what I mean?
Because like, you know, I grew up watching the in limit colors too.
Yeah.
That was my shit, you know?
But seeing you guys, young kids,
It's my age, you know what I mean, just having fun being silly because I've always been a goofy
bastard.
You know what I mean?
That's been my thing.
I'm the youngest to forward.
My role was to just be the goofy one.
Come on.
Right?
So me being young, imagine me sitting there watching Nickelodeon and seeing just young people having fun
and just being silly.
I mean, granted they're working because it's ours and it takes some time to shoot shit.
But like it's still, it was inspiring for me, bro.
Man.
Like, it was super inspiring.
And that's why, like, you being here, bro, I'm sitting, that's why I got my arms crossed.
I'm just watching you.
And I'm just like, this is Cail Mitchell, man.
Like, I'm just, I'm so blown away, bro.
Man, I'm trying to like.
I appreciate that, man, man.
I'm trying my palms are sweaty.
My armpits are dripping.

All right, back to the vibes.
Do you have a favorite musical guest that came on the show?
That's what I want to know.
Bro, it's so...
Did you get autographs?
Did you get...
What?
Yeah, he's like pictures, autographs, yeah.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
All of us were wild.
Like, we...
So, we would get the script and they put it, you know, like, table read.
Like, those, like, days for the first days of rehearsal.
Right.
And the table read were the biggest days.
That's when they laid a script down and you see the name of the episode, but then you would also see who's the musical guest for that week, right?
And then I got to a point because, you know, I used to rap, so I was rapping, I was breaking.
So I got to the point where I'd be over there like at their office is like, yo, he'll get it.
You know what I mean?
Who you got next?
You know what I mean?
But to answer your question, definitely like Alia was a big one.
That was amazing.
Usher, big one.
You know, and now here's what I tell them.
Did Usher have his shirt off?
No.
He did have a shirt.
He kept a conservative.
No, but I tell people this all the time because when they hear me talk about the
artist, they're thinking of the artist now, right?
Yeah.
You got to imagine, like, this was Destiny Child, this was Usher when they were promoted.
Right.
So they were just like us.
You know, like kids just, we're all getting started.
You know what I mean?
And so like with Brandi and all these, like, so when we see each other now, it's all
because it's like we all grew up together.
Like we know like this is us like hustling, putting it out, putting the records out,
you know what I mean?
Like with Usher, it was almost like, this was his first single.
Yeah.
It's first single.
So that's what they were doing.
Like they, their A&Rs were like, hey, going on all that.
You know what I be?
Going on that.
And I remember he had the jersey, all that stuff.
But the reason I remember his is because we had a fire escape that was at the top of the stage,
you know, because our stage was like a big.
garage like warehouse garage right and no artists had went up the fire escape yet like everybody just
came out of the garage and just rocked on the stage right right so usher was like he looked up i was
like huh and he looked up and he came out of the door did this here and then he got on the fire escape
now me being physical i'm like i didn't you never think to do that and he got he got on the fire escape
and just slid down the fire escape bow did a twist split and then started singing and i was like okay well
he's going to be famous.
Did he have on leather pants?
Did he have on leather pants?
Did he have what?
Leather pants.
No.
No.
This is,
what was the outfit?
This is Usher.
I need to know.
What was the outfit?
Okay, so he had, I actually just recently posted this because I don't know if you
saw the viral thing going around where they're like, Dad, what were you like in the 90s?
Yes.
So, like, I posted mine and this and Usher's in one of the pictures.
But he had like a big jersey.
You know what I mean?
Big jersey, big jeans, baggy jeans.
and some Tim boots.
That was it.
Timbers.
You know what I'm saying?
Performing and dancing in Timbs.
Oh my Lord.
Christ.
Whitney.
Whitney Houston.
Oh, yeah.
Doing your mama jokes with L.L.
Koojee.
You know what I mean?
L.L was my sister worked at a record store.
So it was kind of crazy.
Like I listen to audio.
I get all the records guys to get the sample,
you know,
you know what I mean?
And so backseated my Jeep and all of that.
I was listening to all of them, and then now you in front of me?
You know what I'm saying?
It's crazy.
And then Ron DMC bringing their daughters and they like, they love you on the show.
And I'm like, man, I love your records.
Yeah, man.
It was always mind-blowing.
It was vibe-blowing.
I can't imagine, bro.
Like, that is like, that's probably the coolest thing ever.
You know what I mean?
To be young and to be in a space where you're allowed to be a kid, you're allowed to be goofy,
you get paid handsomely for it.
and on top of that, you're getting a chance to meet some of your heroes.
Bro.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
And that is, that's just such a blessing that hit you so young, man.
Yeah, man.
And I want to talk about Keenan.
Of course.
Yeah.
You know, because you guys had characters you played the two old guys,
Mavis and Clavis.
Did I say the names right?
You did.
Good job.
Yeah.
But, like, how did that happen?
I know like you and Keenan, you guys met on all that.
We met on all that.
Okay.
Because a lot of everybody thinks like we had to know each other, like, from birth.
Yeah, yeah.
I popped out and he popped out another room for his mom.
Yeah, he was like, hey man, man.
He just came out of the womb too.
Me too.
Let's do a show.
Babies.
Yeah.
Oh, but yeah.
That's so crazy though.
Yeah, we met on the show.
It's a, it's a funny story how they did it.
It was at the, uh,
Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
And at the Peabody, it's a bunch of ducks
that they would have in the lobby.
I don't know if they still do this.
And so it was like, ducks walking around.
And it was an elevator in the middle of the lobby.
So they staggered all the kids for us meeting for the first time.
So we got in really late at night,
everybody checked in, and you didn't know
who else was gonna be on the show.
And this is after we had already done
two major auditions, and then to call
and all that stuff like that.
So now I was like, well, who got in?
And these kids were from everywhere, you know, New York, Atlanta, all over the place.
And so the door would open.
They were like, boom.
And I'm like, no, okay, I don't know if I hang out with that kid.
Okay, maybe.
I don't know.
And then, boom.
And another kid that came out.
And then I remember Keeney came out.
And he had all his mighty ducks gear on because he had just did the mighty ducks.
He was flexing.
He was flexing.
He was flexing.
He was going to start.
He said, oh, yeah, I'm not a bad.
He said, oh, y'all about to put my grip out.
I know they're going to love this.
They're going to love it.
No, he, and the rollerblades.
Like, he had the whole thing going.
He was like, y'all, y'all.
He had the rollerblades.
He rolled out, slid,
had the stuff, and we were all cracking up.
And I'm like, okay, yeah, I'm going to hang out with the kid.
That kid's hilarious.
And then his mom, like, looked like my mom,
just the mom from Atlanta, you know, bought from Chicago.
They're still, for instance,
this day.
Oh, that's beautiful.
And me and Keenan are as well.
And it's just family, bro.
And it's so, it was so funny.
And I remember, in the beginning, it was like competition,
in a sense of, like, friendly competition,
as far as like, what characters are you going to play?
You know what I mean?
Because all the kids were hitters.
Like, all of us were, you know, super, super talented.
You know what I mean?
All of them.
I mean, like even Lori Beth with, uh,
uh, uh, let's start, what, now I'm blanking.
Um, I know you guys, uh,
Vital information.
Yeah, vital information.
Thank you.
Yeah, yeah.
So many things in my head.
Okay, so vital information, Lori put this to my attention because I was like, what?
We were hanging out recently and she was just like, remember they gave you vital information
first?
And I was like, no, that doesn't make any sense.
Like you, you are amazed at that.
She was like, yo, remember at the table where you did it?
And what they used to do is like, if a kid weren't, wasn't right for, they would go back
and be like, okay, let's switch it up.
Now this person will play this.
Right, right, right.
You know what I mean?
So we always had that like on the mind.
I just didn't remember.
You know what I mean?
But I'm glad it was Lori because Lori kills that.
Oh, she killed this.
Shout out.
Shout out to Lori, man.
She kills that.
Yeah, man.
Another legend out here.
Legend.
Yeah.
But me and Keenan, we had, we were, you know, doing sketches, semi together because they
was mixing the kids up in the beginning.
But then they were like, okay, we got these two old men.
And they were kind of like the two old guys and the Muppets.
You know what I mean?
And then just, you know, always, oh, you know, that type of thing.
And so it was like, well, what's going to be your old voice?
What's going to be your old man?
So, you know, I got hilarious uncles, like, hilarious.
You know what I mean?
So I'm just like, I'll just grab one of those.
Let me get him out of my memory bank.
You know what I mean?
He just did that.
You know, and did that.
And so, and Kenan had his character that he did, you know, from an old man.
So when we did that, right, this was like, I think,
the pilot or episode two when we did that particular characters together that's when everybody
kind of saw it yeah and that's when we saw it because we were just like vibing like this but then
it was like i would finish the joke he would know the joke before i finished it and then we were
just going back and forth and you could because now you know being a producer as well i could see all of them
by over there they were like they saw the chemistry they saw it yeah you can see them seeing it
It's all, man, y'all, we're about to make some money, y'all.
And it's funny because that moment is forever, like, in history because it's at the end of every show.
Yeah.
So that particular sketch, that moment is at the end of every all that where we go, oh, yeah, kick it.
That happened there.
And we got to introduce TLC and, you know, from that's where it all started, man.
Man.
You know, like us, like, vibing together.
That's so wild, man.
Yeah, yeah.
So all that led to Keenan and Kel.
Yeah, yeah.
How did the idea for the show Keenan and Kel come about?
Okay, so this is a fun one.
So like I said, they started putting us in sketches together.
And then Keeney was killing it with Super Dude and all these different characters.
And I'm doing it and Coach Crean and all these different characters.
And we had already, we put out an album.
Like all that was, it was killing.
You know what I mean?
It was right.
We put out of ammo.
I had a song, I had a song with Immature, all these different things.
And so they were like, okay, what else, you know, can we do with this franchise?
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
And I remember we were going on hiatus like we always do.
And everybody would just go back to school or, you know, go back to their hometowns.
They sold us.
They were like, hey, you, Keen and killed.
Come in.
And we were like, we thought we were in trouble because we were always like goofing off on set
and doing pranks and stuff.
And so they were just like, hey, so when everybody goes on hiatus this year, you all are going to stay here.
And we're like, oh, okay, we still don't know what's going on?
What do we do?
We're going to call your parents in here real quick.
What?
So our parents came in.
They're like, so we want to create a show for Keenan McGill.
And this is going to be like their own show like, you know, Freshman, Bel Air, like Martin type of thing.
And I'm like, a yo.
Like at that point because I'm like, we've been doing this show.
this like sketch you know what I mean living colors sat a lot for kids you know
what I mean that type of vibe but now you're telling me like these shows that I've
watched like Martin you know and it's a fresh Prince of Bel Air that I could do we're
gonna do a show like that that's crazy and so they got Kim Bass shout out to Kim
Bass you don't get his props as much he created the Keene and the Kell
show oh okay shout out to Kim and Kim Bass is also the creator of the sister sister
show okay right so
So it's like we got this whole Avengers universe.
I was like, we got to do like,
King of KL T and Samara need to do like something together like a movie.
We have done shows together, but we need to do something.
What was crazy was that I remember they had the script.
It was good.
We read it.
We were like, yeah, this was a vibe.
All right.
And they asked us questions about it.
We were like, this is cool.
I remember we all got to dinner with all the producers in the right.
And they were like, okay, so we do this thing.
What's going to be the name of the show?
And everybody's like, I don't know, like, whatever you go to call it?
And it was this paper of just like the most hilarious names
you could ever think of like me and my homie.
And I'm like, I'm just like,
So we're gonna call me and my home.
Dem two, you know, my, my home boy.
Like it was just all these different days.
We were like trying to.
And me.
Try to figure it out like, okay.
How about this one, John?
Kicking it with my homies from down the way.
Ha ha ha.
I get him.
My old is from down the way.
I really liked that one.
I want to see that one.
Or this down the way.
We can make it clean.
We can make it clean.
I'm just spitball in here.
We can make it clean.
So we look in,
and I recently,
because I was in my parents' house,
I recently found one of the scripts
where the name was totally different.
I mean, I'm trying to remember what it said,
but it was totally different.
But someone was like,
I don't know.
who gets the props for that, but someone was like,
hey, why don't we just name it after them?
And that was a great idea, because I was just like,
okay, that's awesome.
And the only other person that I knew who did that,
you know, was obviously Will, like, it wasn't called
Fresh Prince of Bel Air, but because of the fact
that they called them Will, they would always know him.
And I remember I met Will on, I think the Kids Trust Awards
one of those, and he told me that is dope
that you all have your name on the show
because your fans are gonna grow up.
knowing who you are forever, like your actual name
and knowing who you are and saying that's Kail
and not calling you your character's name all the time.
You know what I'm saying?
So I was just like, oh, that's okay, that's fire.
That's fire, yeah.
And it's true.
So I was just like, okay.
And then we started the King and Kail Show,
and we were doing them boys back to back.
Like they, back then, the way they used to work.
Union rules are a little different.
It was like, back, back, back, back, back, back,
you know what I mean?
16 hour days.
Yeah.
Oh, bro, oh, yeah, bro.
It was used to be wow.
But it was fun.
Like, I loved, I loved it.
You know what I mean?
And I think that's, you know, gave me my work ethic now.
Like, you know, where it's like, let's get it.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah.
Was there like a jealousy amongst the cast when you guys got that?
So let me tell you how that went down.
So then after they told us it was going to happen,
and we're all in the room and then it got real silent because they were like,
okay, but here's the thing.
You can't tell the other.
So we had, and we had a few more episodes to finish of all that, you know what I mean?
And we couldn't say nothing.
So you would just see me and Katie look at each other like, we got a show.
We can't say nothing, you know what I mean?
And we didn't say anything.
We didn't say anything until we shot the pilot for our show.
You know, we shot our show.
You know, it was a few parents that, you know, got wind of what was going on and told their kids what was happening.
But at that point, it was just like, hey, we did it.
It's coming out.
You know, and I remember they premiered it right after all that.
Well, you were doing all that and Keenan and Kel at the same time for a while.
Yeah.
So it would be all that.
Then we go to Keen and Keill and then all that and they just kept doing,
we would just keep doing it like that.
Wow.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It was cool.
What was the, like, the adjustment going back and forth between?
They were just, you know, switching the sets, you know what I be?
They were switched to set up.
and we would get back in there and do it, do it that way.
And it was exciting because it was just like,
hey, we playing all these different characters already.
You know what I mean?
But it was cool to like do Keeney and Kiel
because then that was just like, okay,
I could be this person for a while
and don't have to be, get all into prosthetics
and stuff like that.
You know, shout out to our team.
We had some crazy prosthetics and things
that you would have to do.
Like we got pictures of, it's a picture of Josh
where I think we did like a crazy take on Wizard of Oz.
Yeah.
And I don't remember he was a duck.
He was something, but they did a whole full prosthetic over his face.
So, like, he couldn't breathe and he had a little, like, straw and they put the wax
on him and all this stuff like this.
But we all had to, like, go through all that.
It was cool.
Yeah.
So the orange soda thing, was that your idea or did they write that in there?
So that was the writer's idea.
They did that, right?
And so I was like, so he's addicted to orange soda.
Okay.
So that was like the thing, right?
And I don't know whether, you know, Dow figured about it was like where they were trying to, you know, sell soda or whatever.
But at I asked the writer, I was like, yo, bro, like, how did you come up there?
He was like, it was raining.
I said, that makes no sense.
He said I was writing.
It was raining outside.
And all I heard was orange soda.
I'm like, okay.
All right.
Sure.
You deep, brother.
So he came up.
That's a psychotic.
And he, he had me do it.
And he said, obviously the line was, you know, who loves on his shoulder, kill those on soda.
I do.
I do.
But then it was like, now how are you going to do that?
You know, so I just T-Pain that thing.
You know what I mean?
It was just like, I do, I do, I do.
And then convulsions and the love is just crazy for this soda.
Ah, ah, ah, ah, oh.
That's a.
Ah, I just love it.
I love it.
Just give me the soda.
And who knew another one?
Yeah.
That turned into like even now, bro.
Like I said, like we're at a restaurant and wherever we're at, like, I don't get where it's.
Overseas, out the country, wherever they go.
It's a blessing, bro.
Like, it's just bring it up an order to.
Watch this.
They don't even say shit.
They just do that.
And they got glasses on.
They're still going like this.
There you go.
Here's your own.
That's on the house.
Of the staff.
I've definitely set at the table.
And there's just.
just orange soda there.
I didn't order it.
I didn't order it.
I didn't order it.
It's just there.
You know what I mean?
A little bit of ice.
A little bit of ice.
Burgers, that's another one.
Get free.
Get orange sodas.
It's hilarious, bro.
What is like some of your favorite behind-the-scenes stories for making Keenan and
and Kill?
My baby sister was very young at that time.
So shout out to my mom and my dad.
Because when I booked the show,
My mom was pregnant, had just had my baby sister.
So she was on maternity leave.
And so it was kind of like, all right, well, somebody got to go with him out here.
So she was like, okay, cool.
I'm going to let the school know because she was a retired teacher now.
And my dad's a psychologist.
And so it was kind of like they had to make it work.
And so she flew out there with me.
So then my little sister, it was cool because seeing TLC, like, grab my little sister and say,
we're adopting her.
and then run off
and then be like
where we're gonna go
on a Universal Studio ride
oh no we'll watch her
while you film
it's like bro what
my little sister
don't know what's happening
I'm just looking at her
like
hey yo like you're
you're on Chili's lap
just chilling
you're hanging out
you're chilling with Chile
you're chilling with Chile
you know like moments like that
like that's like super cool man
like a lot of the artist
moments like I think that
that's great
and then like just the moments
of
Keenan and I just, you know, tearing up Orlando.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Having a ball.
Having a ball.
Too much of a party.
Uh, wilding out, just in Orlando, uh, shack.
Because it was like us and Shaq out there at that time because he was on Orlando Magic.
Yeah.
So his people would come and his family will come and just chill on set with us.
And so it was kind of cool like going all the way through Orlando knowing like, you know,
coming off of Universal Studios and, and just saying.
And getting out with everybody, all the high schools, kids would come, that was our audience.
So that's why I was so like super loud and crazy because the whole audience was all kids.
So I'll be walking around somewhere, you know, and I go to Florida on vacation a lot.
And people like, yo man, when I was 16, man, you had me come out and dance with you.
We was pop lock and doing all this stuff.
And it's like, it's so cool to like hear those type of memories and to hear people say like
where they were in their life when they were watching the show.
I love that too.
You know what I mean?
Like you got me through some hard times.
Yeah.
You know, the show was super funny.
You know, all these different things like those things.
Yeah.
Yeah, man.
Yeah.
Because it's an escape for the young people, you know what I mean?
Yeah, man.
Like, you know, for me especially, you know, me and my sister, we used to fight between
BET and Nickelodeon.
There it is.
Like, and I was like, I need my escape.
I need to watch my Nickelodeon.
Facts.
And I would be on the TV, hogging the TV all day long.
And she comes through and I need to watch my music videos.
I'm like, oh, so stressed.
But I loved from all that to the secret world of Alex Mack to, yeah, are you afraid of the dark?
I'm throwing out some heavy hitters.
I see.
You know what I mean?
Because I'm a Nickelodeon kid.
Let's go, let's go.
What's your favorite top?
You had to do a Nickelodeon Mount Rushmore of shows.
Okay.
What is it?
Okay.
And so, yeah.
I'm having a hard time deciding between Kenyon and Kel and all that being first.
Okay.
Let me separate it between cartoons, like animation and live action.
Okay.
We can do that.
We can do that.
So all that first, Kenyon and Kill.
I like all that first before Kenyon because that came first, right?
Okay, okay.
And they did the groundwork for what Keenan and Kel would be, right?
Facts.
So all that, Keenan and Kill.
Clarissa explains it all
Let's go
Okay
Are you afraid of the dark
Oh
Sluat your shorts
Oh he goes
Yeah
Um
And then for animation
Doug
No no no no
Hold on
Ruhru Rins Stimpy
First
Oh let's go
Okay
Yeah you're a real one now
Then look at
Yeah I was like man
What am I saying
What about I'm saying?
What about
I said, got to have Rinn and Stippy first.
Rinn is Stiffy.
Rugrats,
Arroyal Monsters.
Ooh.
I think that's what I got.
Is that four?
Yeah.
Yeah, my top four.
That's dope.
That's a good one.
That's a good selection.
That's a good selection.
You did good.
I proved myself worthy.
You worthy.
Yo, Red and Stimpy, bro.
That was, we love that show.
Oh, bro.
That was like crazy.
The happy, happy joy joy show?
Oh, bro.
Like to this day.
I got Rennon and Stimpy tatted on my leg.
Let's go.
You don't believe me.
you want to see.
We're about to show you this.
Happy, happy, happy joy, joy.
Boom.
It's the happy, happy, happy joy, joy dance one.
It's right there.
Right.
They just hitting.
Back,
bah,
blah,
BA,
back,
back,
back,
happy,
happy,
joy.
Yeah,
happy,
joy.
And it was like
smacking booty.
Smacking booty.
It was unhinged.
And it made,
it made a sound like balloons
hitting each other.
It was like,
boom,
bro.
Oh,
man.
So,
yeah.
Keenan and Kiel was taped in front of a live audience.
Yeah, all that too.
Yeah, both of them.
Yeah, yeah.
Live studio audience.
Yeah.
Would you say like performing in front of a live studio audience helps the energy and the timing of the jokes?
Absolutely.
And I, it's crazy.
I mean, I get it.
You know, nowadays they want to get as much episodes done as possible so they're not doing the audience a lot and stuff like that.
But they're starting to bring audiences back into production because the thing is, is that you need it, bro.
Like, you're going to know what's funny.
The loud track ain't gonna do it.
You know what I'm saying?
And just, you know, and the crew, you know, when it's not an audience,
the crew does as best as they can, you know, to laugh,
but they've heard this thing over and over and over again.
Yeah, yeah.
So, like, audiences, it's the greatest time.
And it's like, I mean, you know, you're getting ready for a show.
You know what I mean?
The concert, it's about to go down and they all calling your name,
Gody, you know what I'm saying?
It's like, yeah, you're about to come out there and go crazy, right?
It's crazy, right?
And so it's the same thing.
Like, we used to, when they started saying, hey, the show's about to start and it's
the countdown, it's the countdown.
It's the countdown.
Show starts at five minutes, show starts at three minutes, two minutes, like Slick Rick, you know what
that's exciting.
And it's exciting.
And, you know, to get those laughs and in the moment, you might go, okay, let's do a rewrite,
let's do something else.
That's what we used to do, you know, like especially on it.
And that's why with Keenna Kiel, you see me get so unhinged because this is like
a little kid that spit out their water right there just, just, you know, just, you know,
crack it up.
And it's just like, oh, okay, let's get this again.
Let's go crazy.
And the cool thing that they would allow us to do, which I thought was dope and risky
with kids, right?
Because like the writers would go, okay, do it our way.
This shows that they trusted us.
They were like, do it the way we wrote it, you know, twice.
But then after that, go crazy.
Right.
Try it your way.
You know what I mean?
Probably used your take.
Yeah.
You look crazy the most.
That was the take that you ended up using.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And so it was just, it was just fun to be able to have that freedom within production.
You know what I mean?
It was just, it was fun to be able to do that.
Yeah.
Man, we got to talk about the burger.
Okay.
Okay.
We got to.
And also, just before we get into the details, like, did you actually, did they actually,
who was making the burgers and did you have one?
Did you try one?
And were they fucking delicious?
They looked amazing.
It's a lot of meat smells.
Yeah.
That's a good one
Because you know
Like it looked delicious for y'all
But you know what I mean
We see it everybody back there
You know what I
Especially with like the Mondo burger said
Yeah
Like it's these big plastic burgers
And then they had to add real meat on it
Like
Oh no
You know what I mean?
I mean they look delicious
Yeah it's delicious
I mean you guys did a good
burger pop-up.
Yeah.
But who made the burgers?
Shout out to my boy, my guy from Ex-Let.
Shout out to Alvin.
And shout out to Derek Barry.
Derek Barry is like the creative, you know, experienced director and a good friend of
mine for bucket listeners.
And, you know, I get back to the movie, but the pop-up, the reason why we did the pop-up
is because I love, you know, like, you know, shows, iconic shows.
And I was saved by the bail fan.
And me and my wife went to go see, say, by the show.
to pop up and we're like yo we need to do a good burger pop up why is there not a good burger pop up and
they're happy to be there that day and we're like yo let's do a good burger pop up and so we made it happen
i was like let's i'm gonna take it in a niggilode and we're gonna go we're gonna make it happen and we did it
it was super crazy i think they're so genius to be able to like give a flavor to something that was
from a tv show like yeah like and this is this is almost this is a little different because i don't think
they were like making like actual burgers.
Mm-hmm.
But SpongeBob did this.
Oh yeah.
This thing.
Remember they had the crappy patties?
Yep.
Yep.
At like the donut shops at Randis and the donut shops.
Mm-hmm.
And like that was so gnarly to like hold a crabby paddy in my hands.
And it was so like I'm actually mad that this is never going to happen again.
What?
Like they'll never make these because they were so damn delicious.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like I remember I went back like three days.
in the row.
That's what's up.
Like, I was on it.
It's the experience, bro.
Yeah, it's like, I'm there.
And it brings you into the world.
You know what I mean?
Like, you're like, oh, I'm tasting a good burger.
Oh, I'm tasting a crabby paddy.
Oh, shit.
Like, it's genius.
The vibe was crazy in it.
Like, it was crazy because at the same time I was doing
Dancing with the Stars.
So at that time, it was just nuts.
You know what I mean?
Like, we do it as far as far as then we go over there and then be doing that and then
It was just like, it was super fun, man.
And to see fans come in and because all the employees had to do it.
So I had to do it.
I'll tell you some funny story.
So all the employees are there.
We got the place built out, all the activation spots.
And this is for the pop up, right?
This is for the pop up.
Yeah.
And then they were like, okay, when employees need help on how to say welcome the good burger.
And I'm just laughing in my life.
I'm like, though, this is funny, bro.
I'm like, all right, everybody gather around.
real life, though.
And I'm like, I would
Let me hear your best.
And they're like, welcome to get no, no, with a little bit more.
Give me some more enthusiasm.
Dig deeper.
No, no, no.
Dick, you're proud of this.
You're proud of you work here.
You've applied three times.
You got it on your third chance.
You know what I mean?
Just you really care about this burger, okay?
So let's try it again.
Dig deep.
Dig deep.
Dig deep.
Dig deep.
Put him in diaphragm.
Dig deep.
You're gonna dig deep and you're gonna spit it out.
It was so funny seeing him get ready.
Like you're talking to this guy right here,
but you see the guy down there.
He's like, welcome to the good man.
He's like, welcome to good, man.
That sucks, that sucks, that's, welcome to good book.
But then they got, it was so cool, like to walk in
and they do it for everybody and it was super cool.
It was like, and like a blessing and mind blowing to me,
like all these years later, like, this is happening.
And I'm just like looking around like, wow.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
That was a genius idea.
I'm glad you guys did that.
Yeah, man.
I'm not missed it.
But yeah, the burgers were on set where, you know, it depends on what burger you got.
At what time, because some of them were outside for a little bit.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
For the movie.
Yeah, yeah, bro.
That's horrible.
How did it happen you taking Good Burger to sketch into a movie?
Okay, so Good Burger was one of the sketches that just like every musical act wanted to be.
like on a part of the sketch which was like super cool for me because then I can mess up
coolio's order you know what I mean and do all this stuff like that well coolio you know all that stuff
and it's sin bad and send bad will come on I mess up his order and it was just bro oh man amazing and so like
it was to work with all of these like people I look up to iconic and do that then like I said we put
out the all that and more soundtrack that we had and Ed had the title
song. And so I got to work with, they were the top, like, boy band back then immature. And so,
like, we did a song together and music video. So I got to go on MTV jams and BET,
and all they were going. You know what I mean? I'm like, all over to be a being an artist. You
know what I mean? And so it was crazy. So, like, Ed was taking over, you know, and I, and I rap
back in the day. So what happened was, was that I thought I was going to be able to rap with them
when they told me, like, I was going to be myself. So they were just. So they were just,
just like, yeah, we got this song and you're gonna do it immature.
I'm like, yes.
And it's called, watch me do my thing.
I'm like, yeah.
And they're like, but you got to rap like Ed.
Huh?
What?
I had to rap like Ed.
And I was like, okay, well, Ed's going to be spitting.
All right?
Ed's going to be going off.
Ed's about to be barred up.
So we have fun.
You know, to this day, now it's on TikTok and people are like,
we discover it like, whoa, why was Ed getting his bag?
He was going off.
So, and they suck.
So Ed, the Goodberger thing was just taking.
And so they were like, okay, let's do a movie.
So a script came in the room.
And I'll give you a secret because you're Nickelodeon.
You know, you know Nickelodeon.
The script was this big, like super huge, right?
So we were like, yo, it was crazy.
That's maybe 500 pages.
Yeah, it was crazy.
It was crazy.
So for our writers, it was a lot of their like first time.
It's like first time doing a movie, first time because like Paramount was like, let's get a movie.
Let's do a movie.
So they're just like, let's put everything in it.
So the first, the first, like, Good Burger had me, I was playing everybody.
So, like, everybody was in there.
Coach Creighton was in there.
You know, all the characters, repairman, everybody was in that world.
That original first script.
So then, you know, obviously Paramount saw that.
It was like, okay, you know, hey, now, hold on now.
This happening explosions, all this stuff like that.
So then they just, you know, put it back down and just it in this world, right?
And saw the script.
The script was amazing.
The new script.
This was my first movie.
It was like, you know,
Keenan had already done Mighty Ducks.
You know what I mean?
So it was like,
this is his next movie.
So we were excited.
And we were just like, man,
this is how we doing a film for Ed?
Like, this is crazy.
You know what I mean?
This is crazy.
And it was a blast, man.
It was a blast.
Yeah, I mean.
First movie.
I remember loving that as a kid.
Thank you, man.
Thank you, man.
And just see it kind of expand.
And to see these characters kind of be three-dimensional and you see this world kind of expand outside of the sketch.
It's really cool.
Yeah, man.
So Goodberger had a lot of great cameos.
Oh, yeah.
Like Carmen Elektra, George Clinton, Shaq.
Yeah.
Was there a celebrity that you were most excited about?
All of them.
In that situation, because you got to think, my dad, they played a lot of music at the
at the house.
And so they play parliament
and funkadelic all the time.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
And so like I grew up on parliament
in funkadelic, right?
Right.
So now George Clinton is in front of me, bro.
Like it's like, are you kidding me, right?
But that moment in the movie was insane.
Insane.
And I love.
Like, and you seem like you had so much fun.
Okay, so.
Bro.
Let me tell you about that entire day.
Like, it's like we got the amazing Dave Scott,
rest in peace.
amazing dance choreographer, right?
He's all the films,
you guys serve, step up, everything.
But back then, he also
did the Goodberger movie,
and he had been working with him,
and mature, so I had already did music with them,
so he came on. So I got this
dance choreography. I'm about to dance
in a scene with George Clinton.
He's in it. You know, he's going to come
out to sing. I'm dancing in his song.
You know what I mean? I'm just like, yo, this is
crazy, right? My mom
is there. She's like, this is just
Wow, you know, they put her in the scene.
That's just like a joke between us and the crew.
Like no one else knows that.
But it's like when Keen is talking to the security guards, they, because we're in insane
asylum, may ask my mom was like, did you want to play one of the insane asylum people?
And she was like, sure.
And so, like, when he's talking to security guards, you see a lady just randomly dead
by, that's my mom.
And so like, we all like crack up about that.
That's hilarious.
So yeah, like George Clinton, him chilling, laughing.
at us, you know, work.
And then Carmen, shout out to Carmen Elektra.
She was sitting there, like, I mean, we had a lot of different hours together.
So she was telling me stories, Prince stories, because I'm a Prince fan and just telling me
all these different stories.
So that was cool, just to kind of like just hang out and chill.
And that's the thing, too, just like to chill with the artist and actually like this.
You know, I have like real conversations, you know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, man.
I mean, and Shaq was just, you know, you're just, you know, we already knew Shaq, you ought to be.
So he used to come by all the time.
So yeah.
Yeah, but just like all these amazing, like, uh, celebs that wanted to be a part of it, too.
Like, we're excited to be, you know, in the film and, you know, what we were doing.
It was super cool.
Yeah.
So fast forward to 20-some odd years later.
Okay.
Good Burger 2.
Okay.
Like, how did this happen?
Okay.
So everyone always wanted it to, like, including us.
You know what I mean?
Me and Keenan for years, you know, and people always talked about it.
And we had had different meetings.
to like try to figure out like what that was gonna be.
In 2019, we had a reboot of all that.
So I don't know if you know, we had a reboot
and it was a whole new cast of kids, right?
So Keenan and I produced that.
We were producing execs on that.
And so yeah, so we were doing that show.
I remember I'll never forget this because we had a whole,
you know, new set of writers, some of the writers
from the original show as well.
And I remember the day where they were like,
okay, we know you're producing, kill, but.
Can you put on the outfits from some of the characters?
Can you be the character with the new cast?
I'm like, yeah.
I was like, let's get it.
Let's get off.
So I did Ed, Coach Creighton, you know,
because I was excited to see, like,
what is Coach Creighton doing in this world?
You know what I mean?
Like now, you know, he's more maddered, crazy kids,
and what is it now?
You know what I mean?
So it was fun.
So for me, I had already.
got to like get back into those characters before we did part two and so um and then part two
happens you know a lot of conversation was going on around that time jimmy fallon shout out to jimmy
because jimmy fowland wanted to uh he was doing a thing where he had you know reunions on this show
and so he did a good burger sketch with me on the show and yeah i saw that that got them going too
yeah so we just yeah man and we put out the show man and um you know bringing everybody back
like karmin coming back you know on the show that was great
to be working with her again on there.
Yeah, yeah.
Everybody from SNL was basically,
and then shout out to Pete.
And it was crazy.
And Leslie, it was, it was wild, man.
Man, that's so dope.
Yeah.
To be able to, to jump back into a character 20 years later.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
It's like, did you find that like,
it was almost like riding a bike,
like the muscle memory of these performances,
just, it wasn't like you needed time to get back into it.
You just kind of snap back
into it.
Snap back into it, bro.
It was like, um, and what I said earlier, I remember, uh, for the show, I put the wig
on and I walk by a mirror.
And it's always, it's always funny because I forget like, I'm like, because you know, my
regular and then I walk by mirror and I'm seeing it or whoever I'm playing at that point.
And I was just like, hi, old friend.
What's up?
Scragut.
Like he's talking to me like, yeah, dude.
What's up?
What's up?
Yeah.
What are we doing this time, man?
You know, and it's funny because the voice kind of like naturally comes out.
Yeah.
So I'm, you know, I'd be at home with my wife and watching Netflix.
And I was just like, yeah, babe, let's do this one.
It's okay.
Yeah, this is good job.
Like I got to turn it off.
You hungry, babe?
I got to turn it off.
You got to turn it off.
Yeah.
Like, Kail, please stop.
Please for the love of God, stop it right now.
We live doing characters, though.
That's another.
That's another.
That's a thing.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, bro.
Is there a role that you love to play or a project you love to do?
Oh, yeah, man.
So I'm really on this, like, hero vibe.
You know what I mean?
Like, I would love to do because, you know, um.
Well, you did mystery, man.
Okay, there you go.
I know, I know, bro.
Thank you, I'm a fan, my man.
I think, I appreciate it, bro.
I think, I appreciate it.
I'm a fan over here.
So we did, uh, mystery man.
When that's the, man, that story.
You're working with some legends.
bro.
Man.
Like,
Paul Rubens is a homie of mine.
Love Paul.
Yeah,
that must have been a great experience.
My homie, too.
And just to see,
you know, rest of peace.
And Paul was amazing, bro.
Like, to be,
to watch Peeve Herman's Playhouse,
like I did.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Same.
All the time.
And then to find out that he's in the movie.
And a lot of Invisible Boys,
like, scenes were with Spleen,
you know?
And so we got to, like,
hang out a lot of times.
You know what I mean?
And he's just like super funny.
I remember he had this like a little scooter
that he used to go through set
because it was huge set, right?
So he'd be riding around on the set.
And I never forget, like,
it was one day he just decided
to tell everybody,
lunch was ready.
Because everybody was in their trailers,
individual.
You know what I mean?
He's just like, I'm going to go around.
And he was riding on the scooter.
And going, lunch is ready!
And just like, hey, lunch is ready.
And just in my mind was just like,
oh my God.
It's like Peewey on the bike.
Mike, I'm tripping.
Like, I'm flipping out.
And it's like, Ben Stiller, bro, and William H. Macy.
Yeah, Vince Dillard, OG, yeah.
William H. Macy, I mean, last drag.
He was in last drag.
Yes, he was in.
And this is my favorite movie.
We could talk about that, too.
I heard it's your favorite, too.
My favorite movie, bro.
So we got to talk about that.
So, and it's like to work with all these heavy hitters, you know what I mean?
And so, and to know, like, you know, black superheroes, let's go.
Like, invisible boy needs to be mentioned.
within that, you know
and so, you know, I'm planning to do
like an Invisible Boy
origin story. I told Ben, I told Ben
about it. Ben was like super excited. He was
like, I think this is cool.
So we got to make this work, Ben. We got to do this work
because I actually filmed, like, filmed
and like just did like a little teaser
with me and my homies. Shout to Irvin
and we just did like, I was like, let's just
do a teaser for the fans. You know what I mean?
Just to see it. And everybody went like
crazy. Like we need to see the world
of. So anyway, you know,
like a Marvel, like those type of worlds I would love to do like to jump in there.
Yeah.
And thank God you look the same.
You don't age.
Thank God, man.
Working out and water.
Yeah, water, working out.
Lord.
Stay away from the booze, kids.
Take a break on the boost.
Hit the gym, you know.
So what's it been like you watching comedians online using social media and like who are some
of the comedians that you noticed recently?
I'm the type of dude where it's like,
because you got some comedians where they're like,
oh, that's that social media comedian
and all that stuff like that.
But I-
There's some funny stuff there, bro.
I love it, bro.
Yeah.
I love it.
And it's art and it's going to evolve.
It's just like, you know, dance, hip-hop, whatever.
You know what I mean?
There's always the new dance.
There's always a new something.
And so even with social media, like I was divine days.
You know what I mean?
To see DC Young Fly and how he killing it right now.
You know what I mean?
Me chop it up with him.
It was, you know what I mean?
Like just to see his growth and all that, you know what I mean?
Pretty V.
To see her growth and all the things she's been doing.
You know what I mean?
Like it's so, it's so many.
You know what I mean?
I just recently did a film with Kevin Hart, Kachana, and Drewski.
And so it's like, it's like Kaysanat seeing that and seeing Druski killing, still killing
the game.
And it's beautiful, like, he's totally changed like the way sketched kind of.
comedy is it's viewed now.
You know what I mean?
Because everybody wants it right now because you could pull up your phone.
You know what I mean?
The way he does it with the surprise of like a sketch.
You know what I mean?
It's super, super amazing.
I love it, man.
I love it.
And I, you know, I learn from it too.
Like I sit down with a lot of different cats and just learning, you know, like, okay,
I mean, you know, with Instagram, with the rills, with the TikToks,
and all those different things.
Because, you know, you got to be able to, uh,
adjust and move in that way.
You know what I mean?
You're going to be in this business.
And, you know, and working together and helping those, helping them out too and
them helping you out.
However, you know what I mean?
It's just like, I love creativity.
You know what I mean?
The creativity and how far it goes is just, it's just amazing.
And we would have definitely been doing that because I'm, but then I think about it
too.
And I'm like, woo, if it was social media back dead.
Oh, yeah.
We would have been a nightmare.
We'd been on T.
Social media in the 90s.
The Nickelodeon kids have lost their.
Boom, boom, boom.
Bill Mitchell left the nightclub last night with five women on his arm.
He's only 18, mind you.
And he is at a bar.
He was stumbling in a limo with five women.
They all looked like 30s and up.
Okay, so this next part, this is the last part of the show.
This is the wrap up, all right?
I'm just going to ask you some rapid fire questions.
They're all random.
Okay.
All right.
If you get stressed out, it's okay.
No, I'm not.
Just put your hand up.
Okay, and go.
If it gets crazy.
Somebody's going to come in here.
Okay.
And they're going to take care of you.
Okay.
And they're going to take care of you.
All right. Okay. It gets too stressful.
Okay.
Okay.
We bear a bad man.
Yeah.
Don't worry.
The hands on the hips.
What did Kit Kuddy do to you?
Are you okay?
Yeah, you guys are getting jokes in this episode.
I hope you guys are enjoying it.
What's one thing you nerd out about that might surprise people?
K-pop.
Okay.
Okay.
That does surprise me.
It did, didn't it?
You were like, what?
Do you have kids?
Yeah, yeah.
No, this is, I was way, I was before K-pop.
Damon Hunter and all the things.
Oh, I was rocking with it.
Yeah, I was rocking with it.
I was right.
I was telling the homies like,
you see what they're doing?
It's all me, man.
You see what they're doing that?
This kids are on fire,
they're dancing.
They got the R&B.
They got magic feet.
I feel like the dude,
and back to the future
when he's doing,
when Marty was doing,
he discovered the rock and roll.
You got to listen this, brother, listen.
Listen to this.
Hey, this is K-pop
You wrote a book
You wrote a book
Called Prank Day
I did
Tell me like one of your greatest
Pranks that you've ever pulled on someone
Greatest
Yeah
I don't know
It seems like you said that you used to pull pranks on set
Yeah we did a lot of we like spooking people out
Okay
Scaring people so a lot of that
I did a lot of hiding
A lot
My greatest
I did and popping out going, hey, it's me.
My biggest one that I think was happening when I was very young.
And I still haven't beat this one, but this was wild.
So my great-grandmother, she had a little bit of the cataracts.
Right.
And so she could see very well, right?
And so I knew this, you know what I mean?
And so I was over there getting babysitting.
And she had a long table, like this long table.
And it had the, you know, the tablecloth.
over it and these really nice chairs.
So I went under there and laid under the chair.
And then all of a sudden, after, I want to say 30 minutes,
you know what I mean?
I made sure I pee.
So you waited under there for 30 minutes.
Oh yeah, yeah.
You were dedicated on the spring.
Dedicated.
Then you hear grandma and she was just like,
care,
and kill, where are you, Keel?
And I'm seeing her feet walking by and I'm just,
I'm chilling.
I ain't making the noise or nothing, right?
So this is where it's like,
you could pop out at this point.
You got her.
It's great.
Then it started getting the anxiety of like,
Kill,
Kyle,
she calls my dad.
It calls my parents,
right?
My dad leaves work.
Oh, no.
I think you should probably pop out,
Kail,
at this point.
Nope,
I got to stick with it.
Pop cups,
Pop gums,
he's looking for me.
Hey,
Cam,
cow!
I'm like,
this is the greatest prank ever.
Like,
they all walking around
just looking for me.
then someone goes maybe we should call 9-1-1.
Oh, no.
Oh, yeah.
Goofy Kel.
I'm like, oh, yeah, this is great.
They're going to love this.
I'm still, I'm still chilling.
Fire alarm.
The whole thing.
I'm like, okay, this is a great time to come out.
I come out.
Hey!
Of course, I, you know, obviously got in a lot of trouble.
A beating.
Yes, I got a lot of trouble.
But that was one of like my craziest ones.
And, you know, I, I, I, I,
I want to go back in time and just see myself pop out of the table and just do my pop lock
because I was literally like, hey.
Yeah, man.
But now having kids and they get me all the time, it's just like, okay, I got back.
Yeah, I got it back.
Well, you know, I used to pull pranks around a crib with my siblings.
You got to.
And this one day, this is actually so fucked up.
I don't know what I was thinking.
But I got a bucket.
I put milk.
Yeah.
cereal orange juice let's go pickles oh boy anchovies oh a bunch of like things like anything I
can find in the fridge right and I just put it in the bucket right and I had this idea
where the bucket was going to go on top like we were going to crack the door open and leave
the bucket right at the at the top of the door so when my mom came in the bucket will fall on
her head. Oh, mama.
So, we didn't understand
physics. Okay.
So,
my mom comes in,
pushes the door open,
and the bucket
and all the shit falls in front of her.
Oh, no. So it doesn't land on her.
She just falls in front of it. She's like,
the hell.
What the fuck?
Like, he was,
what is this? He was so pissed.
What am I smelling? And she called him like,
Scott, to meet y'all d. Get y'all asses in here.
And we just
in the back sticker and like, she was so pissed.
She was so pissed.
I remember it was this other time, too.
We all hid in the closet.
We got our blankets.
We got pillows.
We got snacks from the kitchen.
Let's go.
And like camped out in the closet.
And my mom came back in the room to check on us.
It's like a 10 o'clock a night and she couldn't find us.
And our house was small.
If we weren't in that room, we were gone.
Like, she just thought we left the house or something.
So like she came back in the room.
It was just like your situation.
Yeah.
Where like you hear her panicking outside.
I was like, Scott, where are y'all?
Like, he brought up going back and phone.
We just in there, like, snickering.
I mean, it was, we eventually came out
because we was like, all right, this is getting out of hand.
We weren't about the wait for the police to call.
Yeah.
But, no, it was, like, when you're a kid, like, especially boys,
like, we love pranking moms or pranking your parents in general.
I mean, actually, pranking your dad is dangerous because dad's to beat your ass,
you know what I'm saying?
No, danger.
I knew he was going to come.
My mom, my mom used to give us jailhouse beatings, too.
She was surgical with the belt.
You know what I'm saying?
She was like, whoop, both my parents.
What you say?
You know?
My mom would cry while she'd do it.
Why are you making me head to this?
Well, no, my mom would be, my mom be like, get your ass,
I say, put your feet down, put your feet down,
while I said, get, and then five minutes come in the room
and be like, you know, I love you.
You'd be like, yeah, ma, I know, man, man.
I know you just got to get me,
I think it's going to give me these jailhouse beatings because you're trying to teach me something.
But I know you're passionate, okay?
We'll just say it's passion.
We turned out good.
You know what I'm saying?
We turned out great.
We talked about Good Burger 2.
Yeah.
What's a movie of yours that you would say deserves a sequel?
Oh, yeah.
I think we talked about, yeah, mystery man.
I mean, the fan that they want it.
The fans, like, there's people dressing up as all of our characters at these, you know,
Comic-Con and Halloween.
Yeah.
They're dressing up as shoveler and all this stuff.
So I think that would be a great one.
You know, I mean, the boys is just mystery man.
Do you know what I mean?
So I think that would be, shout out to my home boy, Jesse.
But yeah, I think that would be great, man.
Yeah.
I would love to see that too.
Yeah, man.
What are your top five favorite comedies of all time?
Which way is up?
It's a Richard Pryor movie.
Okay.
Check it out when you get to see that.
It's awesome.
It's deep.
It's hilarious.
It's just really good.
I actually want to remake that film, too.
So which way is up coming to America?
Well, is that considered a comedy?
It's big, considered a comedy?
Big.
Is that considered a comedy?
Yeah.
Is that a comedy?
Somebody pull up IMDB.
Is that a comedy?
Yeah.
Does it say family fantasy?
What is it?
Family fantasy?
Adventure.
Family adventure.
Big was killer.
When Harry met Sally.
Okay.
Just because that was insane.
I like that one
Oh man
There's so many, man
Drinking gin and juice
In the
Mara's joy
Don't be a minute
I mean
That was just like
I was hoping that would appear
somewhere in your top 10 eventually
Yeah
You know what I mean
If you were doing the top 10
Yeah I mean
You got to have a way-ins up there
In the top of high
Oh come on
I mean
You gotta have a Wayans production
I'm gonna get you sucker
Robert Townsend
And Robert's from Chicago
So that was big.
Like when he did all that Hollywood Shuffle.
Hollywood Shuffle is my shit, man.
That's another one on there.
You know what I mean?
We got to do my top 10.
You know what I mean?
But Hollywood Shuffle is my movie.
I love it.
And two, I like another one.
Walking with my Walkman and seeing the newspapers
and hearing them talk about Robert.
Like that was a thing too growing up in the Shire.
Like to see, you know, all these cats from the South Side
that were just doing amazing things.
you know, creatively.
You know what I mean?
Like, we're common.
Common went to school with my sister.
You know what I mean?
So that was when he lived in the next neighborhood
over from you, you know what I mean?
And so that was cool to see Robert Townsend,
Jason Weaver.
Jason Weaver.
Shout out to Jason Weaver.
That's the homie.
Yeah, man.
Lorenz Tate.
You know what I mean?
The Tate Brothers, you know what I mean?
So Chicago, we all, you know, we stick together, man.
Yeah.
That's dope.
That's dope.
Yeah, man.
If you could go back in time
and see one comedian performing their prime,
who would it be?
Who would I want to see?
Richard Pryor would be great.
Richard would be great.
Eddie Murphy would be great.
I got to hang with him at the documentary that he recently did with Netflix.
I was amazing.
And tell him how amazing he is.
If in Robin Harris, that would be great.
Can I put Babeba's kids in that thing?
Oh, yeah.
In that movies?
Yeah, because that's another one.
Is house party?
the comedy too.
Yeah, for house party.
House party.
Yeah, so we definitely put House Party.
House Party three is one that was crazy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
What's your biggest moonshot?
A goal, a dream, or an ambition that might seem impossible.
Well, you know, I'm a believer too, man.
So I always say nothing is impossible.
You know what I mean?
With God, you can do all things, bro.
Exactly.
So for me, I don't look at it like that.
I just love waking up every morning and just seeing like,
God, what you got from me today, bro?
Like, this is amazing.
Like, thank you for this journey.
You know what I mean?
And my thing is I'm always like, be better than the day before.
So if I could be the reason why somebody smiles or, you know, I learn something, you know,
when I go to bed and I always, you know, like I tell my kids this too, what did you learn?
What did you learn today?
You know what type of thing?
You know what I mean?
And, you know, what are you happy about?
You know, those type of things.
So just being in a moment, you know what I mean?
Like this is a moment.
You know what I mean?
Like, you know, listening to you.
music and then now being able to chop it up with you, you know what I mean, seeing your work,
and then it's cool to hear you say, you know, like, how you watch your music.
You know what I mean?
And so these are, that's the thing, man.
We all family, bro.
This is a, you know, big universe of amazing people, man.
So yeah, yeah, yeah, bro.
Yeah.
Well, I have to ask you, too, like, what's your favorite Kit Cuddy song?
Ooh.
Ooh.
I'm gonna say the first, the whole album.
Yeah.
I feel it.
That's real because that first album is like a beginning, like a continuous play.
You put it on and you just let it rock.
You know what I mean?
Like that first and the second album, they're both meant to be consumed in their entirety.
You know what I mean?
Back when albums were.
Yeah.
The story.
Exactly.
You know, and I'll take that.
But what I remember, too, from the first album, was.
your fashion sense.
Yeah.
Like I dig that.
Like, you know what I mean?
And it was like when you saw you, you had like a, I want to say uniform.
Yeah, I did.
But okay, okay.
Let's say that.
You know what I mean?
I did that on purpose.
Okay.
Okay.
So I was right.
The leather jacket.
Delavan jacket.
The leather jacket.
The fitted cap.
Come on.
Like, it was definitely like, I kind of wanted to, you know, I was like, if I'm the
superhero, I want to have a look, you know.
I want people to be able to identify me.
You know, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm,
amongst everybody else.
And you did that.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was all like, that was all planned.
Yeah.
So I guess it worked.
It's a vibe, man.
It was a vibe.
And I was like, yo, it's killing it.
And the, you used to rock the Supras a lot, right?
The Super, the shoes.
Man, I did that one shoot.
I never really wore Super.
I was more so like, Jordan, Fours.
Yes, because I was like, you did the high top.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Forces, dunks a lot.
Yep.
Yeah.
I was rocking bands a little bit, but I love sneakers, man.
My sneaker closet, man, is ridiculous.
Like, I just have so many, so many shoes.
And I love these situations you got on today.
Shout out of Spike Lee.
Yeah, those are those.
I actually got these off a far fetch recently, but I got the all-white ones.
Hold on, these are the ones I got.
Oh, yeah, let's go.
You have great taste.
Great taste, with it.
Oh, oh.
Let's go.
I like them choice too, though.
Oh, thank you.
This is cactus plant.
That's the market.
Yeah.
This whole outfit is Cactus, man.
She's a friend of mine.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, this is a homie.
She's been honing me down for years.
Yeah, we got to.
We're homies?
Yeah, Cactus, you got to hook him up, man.
You got to hook him up.
Because he got the drip.
He know how to put it together, man.
But, bro, I want to ask you before we get out of here,
who's one guest that should have on this show?
Please say Keenan.
Now I got to say Keenan.
Kenan.
Kian.
We can make that happen.
Yeah, man.
Oh, he would love that, man.
I need him on the show.
It's real chill in here, man.
He loved that.
And also, before we go,
yeah,
because this is actually,
I'm trying to plug myself,
Keenan and Kill Me Frankenstein.
Yeah, bro.
Did you start filming yet?
Okay, so we haven't started filming yet.
Okay, perfect.
And here's was great.
So I want to be in the movie.
Let's go.
We're going to figure this out.
I want to be in the movie.
Let's go.
It's not starting yet, guys.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Just put me in there somehow.
Like, I'm down.
to come play.
Yeah.
Whatever you guys want me to do.
Let's go.
It could be something silly, goofy, outrageous.
I would love for you to do that, man.
It would be fun if I could do a voice or just play, transform into something else, you know what I mean?
Or I can be myself.
Well, I mean, it's Keeney K.mese Frankenstein, so I mean, you can, it's going to be wild.
Oh, dude.
So, look, we connected now.
Yeah.
So, you know, you know, you know, you know, it's crazy.
I was just reading Act 1 when I was waiting on you.
I can't share it with nobody
but for the script
you know what I mean
that's awesome
but it's shaping up very very
very well
it's gonna be crazy
I'm so excited
yeah because we're creating
this whole
another world of like
you know
us now as adults
in these type of films
that's so dope
yeah
that's so dope
well man
good seeing you
you too man
thanks for having me
