Bigfoot Society - 45 Minutes of Pure Terror in Oregon!
Episode Date: November 3, 2025What really happened in that Oregon meadow? In this unnerving episode, we sit down with Mike — a carpenter from Alaska — as he recounts a deeply disturbing experience that’s haunted him since 19...88. While elk hunting with his father in the remote forests near John Day, Mike was hit with a terrifying wave of emotion and a burning sensation that traveled up his spine — triggering the most primal fear he’s ever felt. What followed was 45 minutes of paralyzing panic, absolute silence, and the overwhelming urge to run. Was it infrasound? A predator cloaked in the woods? Or something else entirely? From sleepwalking terrors to a spare tire hurled across camp, this story will leave you breathless. You’ll also hear echoes of other strange accounts near Sweet Home and beyond — places where the woods hold secrets they don’t want you to know. If you've ever felt the forest watching you... this one's for you.🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

the state of Oregon.
So welcome to the show, Mike.
How are you doing today, sir?
I'm good, sir.
Thank you.
Absolutely.
We were talking a little bit before the show.
This is a story you've never really shared before in this type of format.
We're thankful to you for taking some time out of your day.
I know it's actually a little early there where you're at.
Feel free to take us back to when this happened.
for you and set the scene what was going on, and then we will chat about it afterwards.
All right. Thank you. I have never shared this story with anybody. I'm not in detail. I've kind of
crazed over it a couple times, but never really fully got into it. So, this is quite a few
years ago. The dad and I went to John Day to do some Alcontin. He'd been up there before.
So he knew the area pretty good.
I'd never been off it, but I was looking forward to it.
We were going to camp out there for about a week.
Nice.
We get up to where we want to hunt the day after we got there, set up camp.
Matt and I, we drove a spot where he had hunted before.
I mean, I'd walked this big game trail, basically,
up to a certain point where he wanted to hunt.
About 20, 30 minutes later, we decided to split up.
He said he's going to go up over this hill.
I can fall on the trail and I'll come out in this little me me there for an hour or so.
So I did.
I continued on.
It was a beautiful day.
The weather was good.
It was early morning, no clouds.
It was just a nice day.
I walked it into this trail, and sure enough, there's this big, beautiful alpine meadow, just gorgeous.
The meadow was probably 100 yards wide by 100 yards long, surrounded by trees for the most part.
And then what I was walking out was the hill that my dad was going to come out.
And it was pretty clear.
So I could see how long as I could see it all along was up the hill.
So I figured I'd go into this meadow, get into the tree line and get myself ready in case maybe he picked something out.
And I'm walking into this meadow.
Oh, it was just beautiful.
It was just nice.
Anyways, I'm walking into this metal.
About the time I get almost in the center of this meadow, I got this.
I got this sensation in the pit of my gut.
And it started out about a marble size,
kind of a burning sensation,
but without the pain.
It didn't hurt, but it was really warm.
And the sensations is growing in my gut,
and it's growing outwards.
And I remember it hitting my skin.
And then this sensation hit my spine.
And I'll never forget this.
I can feel this thing, the sensation traveled up my spinal cord into the back of my brain.
And when it hit my head, this is what face get really weird and really deep.
But when it hit me, a couple of days go through my mind at the same time.
The first thing was run.
It was like my inner being, my innermost self is screaming, run.
And initially, I'm trying to figure out what's going on.
what is a sensation of feeling?
And then why am I
panted? And my body
it's hard to, it's almost
like my body, my mind separated for
a minute. It's not like I'm out of
body experience or anything like that. It wasn't.
But my
physical being
is screaming
rock and mentally I'm trying to figure out
what's going on. Why do I do like this?
And I'm looking around trying to understand
my situation.
My feet,
are trying to move my thought.
I can feel all the muscles in my body.
I'm ready to bolt.
I'm trying to understand mentally what's going on.
I'm having this like an eternal battle
between my physical being and my mental state.
My mind, I'm trying to figure out what's going on.
Why do I feel like this?
I don't see anything.
There's nothing obvious going on.
If you can imagine a stadium full of people
all panicked at one time screaming,
yell and running in all different directions.
That's what this was like.
It was an intense run.
And it was my voice.
It wasn't something.
It wasn't somebody else's voice or something else's was.
It wasn't my voice.
It was telling me just screaming, literally run.
I'm standing trying to bear what's going on.
And my insides are just,
I've got this terrible conflict going on.
Finally, I remember to my,
Just telling myself, yes, yes, I want to up and run.
Yes, I want to get out of here.
I don't know what direction of the run in.
So just chill for a sec.
And as I said that, what I said sank in.
I realize, I'm in a bad situation.
Something's up.
Something's happening and I got to figure this out.
I start walking these little three circles in this valley,
just so I could see it all the way around me to see whatever is going to come out.
And you don't see me at that.
When this thing
sensation hit my head, it was like all my senses
I'd awakened. I could see clear.
I could hear. I can smell.
I remember I could smell the trees
from standing there.
I mean, it was like my body just physically came alive.
The skin is sensitive.
I don't know.
It's like an ancient, primal, primitive sensation.
My body was reading fierce somehow.
So I'm walking these little three circles.
I'm trying to see you catch
any movement or hear anything, but it was absolutely dead silence.
Silence was deafening. I've heard that before, never I'd stood until then. It was so quiet.
There was nothing, no squirrels, no chipmunks, no birds, nothing. There was no wind.
There was no sounds. Nothing in the trees are moving. And I'm really trying to maintain my
composure. Part of me, it's just screaming to get out of it. So I'm walking these little 360s,
just observing my environment, trying to assess my situation,
trying to figure out what's going on.
I don't see.
I don't hear anything.
So I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do.
Like, part of me wants to run,
but my dad and I agree to meet here.
I can't leave this situation because if I'm not here when I come down,
he's going to worry.
And I'm sure now I'm not going to leave whatever this is for my dad to deal with.
I'm just not going to do that.
So I'm telling us up I'm not going to run.
I'm not going to die a cowlid's death.
I'm going to stand here.
I'm going to fight this.
Whatever this is, I can't leave.
It's just absolutely not an option.
All I can do is stay in here.
I can do these little three circles and I'm watching for my dad come up on with this hill.
I'm watching for anything to come out of this works.
Nothing's happened.
My dad's not supposed to come out for another 30, 40 minutes.
I know I got some time.
But again, I literally, I cannot go anywhere.
I can't leave the situation.
I don't know exactly what my dad's going to come out.
It's not like I'm going to walk towards him,
because I don't know where he's gone.
So, again, I'm having this huge internal,
but my body is trying to do one thing.
My mind is trying to keep me sensible and keep me aware of what's going on.
I just can't do anything.
I'm just walking these 360s, trying to keep an eye up for everything.
And I remember telling myself,
you got to remember everything that's happened here.
And be clear, be clear.
This went on for about 15 weeks, and this is like the most terrifying 15 minutes of my life I've ever had.
Nothing's happening, and I'm trying to keep myself psyched up, because I know something's going to happen.
Something's going to come out, so I'm trying to go through the mechanics of the shooting if something runs out, go through your own thing, focus, to try to run all these scenarios through my head.
So I'm going to keep myself from loosening, basically, which is exactly what my body has tried to do.
just run. I don't know where this threat's coming from. I don't even know what this threat is.
About 30 minutes into the deal, this is extremely taxing. It's very stressful. And I don't know how much
longer I can deal with this. So I started getting me just basically psyched myself up. The
suspense is telling me. I have no idea what this is or where it's coming from. So I started getting
bad. This is it. I'm going to die. I've come to terms with that. It is what it is. Let's do
this and let's get this over with.
I started walking wider
circles, closer and closer
to the tree line, trying to
draw out, whatever's in the trees
out to me
so we can get this thing over.
Then I got, the closer
I got to the tree line, I was scared.
Without a doubt, I was scared.
And the closer I get to the trees,
worse, anxiety again.
So I'd get back out in the middle of the field.
I remember twice, I actually laid down
in the field, you said it was so tall grass, about eight of the grass, brown.
I remember I'll lay down the grass for a count of five,
and then I'll jump up and see if anything's running out at me, take a shot in.
The second time, suspense was killing me.
There's just no way to hear that again.
So this goes on.
I had a watch, so I remember the time pretty good.
It was about 45 minutes later, I see my death up on top of the sill,
about where he said he was going to be.
I remember watching him
comes out in cluttering
and he keeps walking
trying to put some distances between him
in the tree line
and then I see him coming down the hill
and he's moving a pretty good clip. He's not running
but he's coming down a pretty good clip.
That was my cue to go.
So it was about
two or three hundred yards to walk
at the base of this hill where he was coming out
but the whole time I had my head on a swivel
watching and wait and see
what's going to go on.
We had up on my dad
said, you're ready? He said, yeah,
when we turned around, and we walked on the trail.
We didn't ever see anything,
but we got in the truck.
So my dad, I said,
man, I'm going to tell you something. The strangest thing.
Before I come in, she said, yeah, no, me too.
And so we talked about it.
But we really,
we had no idea with us. We didn't
see anything at all.
He didn't go into a lot of detail
about what he went through
When I, I was 23, 24 years old, the last thing I was to do is disappoint my dad.
So I didn't let me fully explain to him just how scared I was.
I think my dad was still the same thing with me.
He didn't want to freak me out.
So he didn't go in any detail.
And I didn't go into a lot of detail about it.
So we get back to camp.
That was pretty much the end of the experience.
But I remember back night, we were in camp and we were trying to figure out if we were going to stay.
on it, so we just want to call it.
For both of us to take time off the work and the plan,
and strip us a big deal.
We both taking off a week of work,
and we're only a couple of days into it.
He was like, I just get some sleep we'll talk about in the morning
and figure out what we want to do.
And we know my dad was sleeping in the cabin to pick up.
I was sleeping on the grass and sleeping bed.
And then I said he woke up in the night he heard something.
He said, he sat up in the truck.
He looked out.
He says, he sees me walking.
around picking up camp trying to pack up.
He said, and saw me reach down, take up the spare tie of the truck and throw it from 20 feet
into the bed of the truck.
And that's when he made up his mind that we're out of here because something happened
that where now it's affected my sleep on sleepwalking.
And I'm still even terrified my sleep on trying to get out of it.
So that morning we did, we went up and we left on the way home.
My dad told me about my sleepwalking deal.
But that was the extent of the story.
The fear, we've all been scared before.
We've all had those shit situations.
I had been on ballpins of the firearms.
I have been less than 20 people, my brown bear up here.
I've been way too close to the polar bears up in Catovic.
Those were scary situations, but all those combined don't even come close to the level of view.
And I was experienced up there.
I really hope I never experienced that again.
Yeah.
Wow, my goodness.
That is extremely intense for you to go through that for that period of time.
And I want to make sure that I got what you said at the end.
So your father saw you walking around camp and you threw a whole tire into the back of a truck?
I did.
We were in my dad's pickup truck and we'd take them a spare tire out of the bed of a truck and sent it over by the campfire.
But yeah, I was sleepwalking.
I have no memory of this whatsoever.
But he said when he saw me do that,
he realized that something shook me up pretty good.
That even in my sleep, I'm ready to go.
Gotcha.
What year was this again?
This would have to be right around 88.
Okay, 1980.
So you said it's in the John Day area.
Is it...
So I ask, I'm asking location questions
because I've talked to a few other people
around John Day.
One individual had a similar situation
where it was in a place called Strawberry Mountain
outside of John Day.
And pretty much, the whole hunting camp
and the people around,
there's unseen presence,
there's moments of panic
that make them leave,
all that kind of stuff.
So it's very interesting, an unseen presence causing these really intense emotional responses
to try to almost get a person to leave.
And that's a little bit southwest of Strawberry Mountain.
So I'm not sure if you were near that area at all or you were actually pretty close to John Day.
I was outside of John Day a little bit.
I honestly couldn't tell you how far exactly.
Okay.
But I remember the sensation
started in the pit of my gut.
It was the weirdest thing ever.
It was just like a warm,
it was almost like a burning,
but about the pain.
It started out small and it grew out towards my skin.
And this thing,
when it hit my spine,
I could feel the sensation
and travel up my spine.
As soon as it hit my head,
it was pure chaos.
Every fiber of my being was screaming to run.
And I honestly,
So I think if I had taken off running in a panic, whatever it was, and I don't know what it was, whatever it was probably went to grab it.
Right. Yeah.
Something was trying to make me run.
Absolutely.
The way you explained it, the sensation traveling up your spine, I mean, it's really similar to a few other things I've heard from people, but not out in the woods.
It's how they describe it when they go back home and then they have stuff happen at home.
And I remember this one guy from around Mount Rainier, I'm pretty sure he experienced a sensation.
But traveling up his spine like that as well, it's very interesting.
During that time when you're hunting, I would imagine there's no, no, you weren't under any influence, correct?
No, absolutely not.
My dad and I, when we went hunting, we always took it serious.
I wasn't, I have no drugs, no alcohol.
We took our hunting pretty serious.
Gotcha.
After the days after this, did you notice any weird bruising or rashes?
And I know these are really like specific questions.
You can only answer them if you're comfortable, but just curious if there are any weird things that show.
up in the days afterwards on, on like your legs or arms or anything like that?
No, nothing like that at all.
It was anything, I was trying really hard to forget it and forget about it.
But no, I don't recall anything like that.
Another interesting thing you said was how in addition to getting these emotions of run, get out of here,
you also said your senses were opened up or extremely alert and just the way you could, from what I got, the way you could hear, the way you could smell.
So all of your senses were affected by this as well as what you're saying.
Absolutely.
It was weird.
It was like my vision.
Everything was brighter.
I can see clear.
And I wasn't wearing glasses.
I didn't have any for glasses.
But I do recall, I was like, wow, it got brighter.
I couldn't hear anything.
I could see everything, but there was no noise to hear.
But, yeah, even my skin felt different, sensitive media.
I don't know.
How long did that affect to your senses last for?
That sensation that started, it lasted until we got a hot way back to the truck.
As far as, like, my vision clears up.
I don't know.
I would imagine, I don't know.
there was a lot more other important things pressing on my mind at that time i didn't pay attention
to that but by the time i got halfway to the truck that sensation in my my stomach that
whatever it was i had no idea but it stopped it was like a burning without a pain type of one
sensation but when it was happening it got my whole body my whole body was lit up ready to go
And the farther away I got from that situation, the more it stops.
And I honestly think, again, I don't know what this was.
I don't know what caused it.
But I think whatever was that caused me to panic and also sense that I wasn't going to run.
And I prepared myself to fight.
And maybe that's why it happened.
I don't know.
But I think if I decided to run, I could have been another missing hunter.
Yeah, it's one of those things.
It really makes you wonder.
You hear about these just the weirdest things out in Oregon with people walking through portals on top of mountains, things like that.
So you had talked to your dad, but it sounds like there was never a time where you were able to have a really detailed,
conversation. Like he never really came out with what exactly happened to him is what it
sound like? No. My dad was a tough old Vietnam vet. He wasn't a very emotional guy. He just said
he had something felt strange and he had a need to get on it. The days after this,
so were you based out of Alaska at that time or where were you based out of? No, at the time I lived
outside of Eugene, a little town called Notepi.
It's just a little logging community.
Oh, yeah.
So it's by Elmira and it's on 126 it looks like.
Okay.
Yes, it is right on 126.
Gotcha.
Okay.
That's cool.
That's cool.
The days after this happened, did you experience anything back in your home residence
where you're like, it's weird?
I'm thinking like this or I'm having these thoughts come out of nowhere, really hard to explain
what's going on? Was there anything like that started to happen?
No, honestly, nothing like that. Again, I think I was so determined to get this behind me
that I don't remember a whole lot after that for a while. Even, I don't know, nothing weird.
So are you saying it's hard to remember stuff that happened after that period of time?
I don't even remember the drama.
Oh, wow.
I just, I think I was just so determined to get this behind me that I forgot about.
I wanted to forget about it.
It's just this happened.
I've constantly thought about that I've never dealt deep into it.
I just, I remember something happened in actually.
But since I've known that I'm going to be on here talking to me about,
and brought back the whole thing.
It's still kind of scary even today.
But I think the worst part about it was how long it lasted and not knowing when it was.
I would get anything that no one was.
So I guess I'll ask you, what do you think it was that caused that reaction to you that or inside of you that day?
The only thing I can honestly say it is, it was a predator of Sonslaw.
I've listened to your show for a couple of years now.
For people talking about infrasound, back then, Infrasound.
wasn't anything anybody
talked about. It's not like there was a
place to go to talk about this.
And, you know, the guys I was
hanging out with at the time.
I don't think I was a cissy or
looney. One of the other. It just
didn't really have any avenue to
think, honestly, it was a
prepter. And after
learning about the simple sound, maybe it wasn't.
Again, I didn't
see anything. I didn't hear
anything. I didn't smell.
anything, but something
had influenced
my body. So it's weird. It's like my mind and my body
separate. I didn't have
enough body. Nothing like that. But
my physical being
was trying to do one thing, and my
mind was trying to keep
my stuff together. But my body
was physically trying
to get out of there. And like
it said, it was
just the one word
nonstop as loud
my inner voice could be screaming.
It wasn't run because of this,
run because of that.
It was just run.
My body did everything it could to do that.
But mentally,
I was trying to figure out what's going on.
Why do I feel like this?
And trying to keep together.
Really, to me,
and this is just my theory,
I would agree with it,
it really sounds like one of the most intense cases
of infrasound that I've ever heard on the show.
it is really it's a really intense one but just the way it's weird because i mentioned it already but
the way that you explain how it traveled up your spine usually that's used with accounts of people
being healed by bigfoot which is so weird not to say that's weird but it's just i've never seen
that way of talking in a
Infrasound event. Maybe I haven't talked to enough people about their infrasound events.
Maybe that's it.
No, I wasn't in any need of healing at the time. I was in serious need of being safe at the time.
This whole thing lasts about 40 minutes. And that is a long time to be under a lot of stress like that.
It's just the whole time I'm having this internal battle. My body is literally just screaming,
run the whole time. And in my mind, I'm trying to figure out why.
I just, I'd never got an answer.
So after this, so I guess the way I'm thinking about it, there was a point then in your life after this that you must have started to make some connection to, okay, what was it that caused this?
Was it maybe Bigfoot?
When was that time where you started to maybe make connections about what potentially could have happened that day to you?
probably just listening
into your shows
and other big foot show
back then there wasn't
pulled any podcast
I'm aware of
and there wasn't a big
forum
discussion forum on this matter
but I've been listening
to your show
I think about two
two and a half years now
and I think
I started hearing
these different
experiences people
are having
and that's the
that's the only thing
I can think of
something
literally tried
to make me panic
and that's the only thing
I can think of
I was excited about the hunt.
My dad and I worked on great terms.
I had no stresses in my life.
Life was good.
I was 24 years old, man.
I had to walk by the tail.
I had nothing to be worried about at all.
This really shook my world.
I remember when you're that age, man, you fear nothing or nobody.
But after that experience, I realized I am not the biggest bad of saying,
walking around the voice with a rifle.
Absolutely.
telling myself, I was telling myself I had a rifle and I can take down anything that comes out.
And once I made up my mind that I wasn't going to run, I was going to fight.
I was psyched myself, but I told myself, I've got plenty of time.
I'm dead center in this field.
I can see all the way around me.
If something comes out, I'm going to have three and five seconds to take a good shot at whatever this is.
But even knowing me, I don't think it was enough.
I was still, I was scared.
I was terrified.
I did not know what to do.
I couldn't leave.
It was the worst experience of my life.
I'm not seeing a scutcher.
So a few things.
Have you ever gone back to that area since then?
No.
That was, I think it was like a four, four and a half hour drive from where we lived.
So that was a big deal for us to go hiking together.
But no, I never did go back.
We were out in a pretty secluded area.
We only, the whole time we were out there, two days we were there,
we only ran into one other person out there and he was on horseback and he stopped
on top of us for a little bit. He said he was an outfitter out there, a guy and lost one of
his horses out there. He was looking for it. But that was the only person that we saw out there
that's interesting. He lost a horse out there. Have you ever considered potentially
or going under hypnosis to see if anything else did happen to you that day? That may
your mind just has blocked out.
Yeah.
I've never thought about it.
Yeah, I guess I'd be curious, maybe.
I'm not sure if there's something more there is if I want to know, but I've never thought
about doing it, no.
Yeah, and that's a tricky thing.
If there's something more that's worse than what you can remember, do you really want
to bring that out?
Maybe there's a reason that your buyer is, no, you're not going to.
Yeah.
We're not going to have you.
Yeah, but at the same time, I'd want to know what that was.
That was years ago, I'm beyond that.
I would like to know what it was.
But I don't know.
I'll never know what it was.
Some people, when they have experiences like this,
they'll start looking into the subject,
and they'll start looking into the area where they have the encounters,
that you've done,
where you've looked into this area in John Day and seen
if you can find any other things that have happened there related to Bigfoot potentially?
I did not.
I haven't now.
And the whole time this has happened, Bigfoot never crossed my mind.
I didn't know what it was.
Bair did come to mine.
Another human did come to mind.
I don't know what it was.
I never thought about Bigfoot until, like I said, it started listening to your show.
First off, thank you for listening.
I know it's a crazy story.
It's even a crazier experience.
experience.
And so the other interesting thing that you mentioned, so you've talked to your dad about this because he was there, but this is something where you've never really talked to anyone else about this, it sounds like.
Correct.
I've never shared this whole story with anybody.
This is the first one I've ever said this out wow.
You know, why would it be something that you would share now something that happened more than almost 40 years ago, really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Maybe somebody's got some answers.
I've heard a couple people say they tell their story and hopes that somebody else will come out with their story and maybe eventually some answers.
I don't know.
I just, I don't know.
I just want to know what this says.
What happened?
Yeah.
And I know so much that someday we start getting answers.
I think that there's some stuff going on in the background that, you know, you know,
we might start to get answers, but it just, I think, man, it's just, it's so weird where I'm
thinking back again to what you said, where it started as like a marble-sized sensation
in your stomach. And it's almost, there's directed energy involved, right? Because it's kind of
Yeah. It started in the pit, the center, my pit of my center was where it started. And I remember it was a
very small
sensation
and it's been growing.
And then when I said
I didn't get my spinal column,
it did feel like
it was going to my vertebra.
It felt like it just went
through my spinal column.
And when it hit the back of my head,
I remember that sensation
that was the craziest thing.
Another thing I was going to ask you
is after this happened,
did you,
so it's never a thing
you checked in with a doctor
at a physical afterwards.
You were like,
hey, by the way, had this weird thing happen, it sounds like you had never come up to a medical professional?
No, I don't want to sound like I'm crazy.
Maybe that's one of the reasons why I've never told the story, because it is, it's out there a little bit.
People hear stuff like this, and they don't want to hear stuff like this.
No, I get.
It's a different, it's a different thing.
It's not something you want to be personally and go out bragging about because I was very weak that day.
I've never felt that terrified before.
Like, some of the young guy, man, I'm gonna tell.
I feared nothing.
I left that day very homeless.
It took me a while to get home with that part.
That was a really challenging point for me.
Like I said, we didn't think you're big and bad.
I said you find out nothing.
That kind of messes with your psyche of it.
Absolutely.
Just to double check after this,
so you're listening to the show,
maybe checking out other things as well.
Have you had any other things happen?
You said you're up in Alaska now.
I know there are some definite things that can happen up there,
but it sounds like you've been able to not really run into any issues up where you're at now.
No, this never really scared me out of the woods or anything,
but I've never had any other.
I was followed out once I went buddy and I were fishing this remote lake.
but we just assumed it was a bear,
and we got back to where we were camping,
we got to talking about it.
I don't know,
we convinced ourselves that was a bipedal sound that we're hearing,
following us out or not,
but even nothing became of that.
Gotcha.
But my dad,
Sweet Hall,
my dad found some big footprints out there.
They were out.
And I was still just a kid at this time,
but I remember my dad.
Dad telling me a story about him out there around a river or lake or something.
He found so big footprints.
Dad was a size 13.
He said this track was about four or five inches longer and three or four inches wider.
He didn't see anything.
He didn't say he saw it, but he just found some big footprints.
Yeah, absolutely.
Did you say that was Sweet Home?
Yes.
Okay.
Yeah, that makes total sense.
That area is so extremely active.
especially up by the reservoir.
I don't know if it was up by...
I think that's where they were.
I talked to my mom about this last night, actually.
She would remember that she kind of went to the story
that he found the tracks,
and he wanted to go back and follow the tracks for a while,
but she was scared.
She said she was not to stay there by herself
with a couple of kids while he's out of one.
What year approximately do you think that would have been
where he had that finding?
That would have been about 72.
Okay.
I remember my youngest sister was born in that time.
Gotcha.
And growing up in, and was it, Nodi, Oregon, right?
No tie.
No tie.
Thank you.
So growing up in No Thai, Oregon, was Bigfoot a thing that ever made its way into
stories that you would hear maybe at school or people that you lived around, things like that?
Yeah, I didn't go up there.
I just happened.
That's where I was living.
at the time. But I don't recall anybody
talking about any stories at all. They put in the area. This is a
big longing community. I don't recall. It definitely
wasn't something you hear people talking about.
I never recall any conversation over here. Anybody talking about
Bigfoot. Absolutely. And
Mike, this is, and I just want to say thank you for
for sharing what you experienced that day out in the John Day area.
As I said, I think it was Infor Sound experience.
It's one of the most intense ones that I've heard on the show so far.
I do want to make sure that you were able to share everything that you had come on the show to share today.
Yeah, I do.
And I appreciate you listening and appreciate you not getting me any grief or laughing at me about this.
I struggle with this for a long time.
Maybe now that I got it off my chest, I can let it go now.
Absolutely.
And I hope you do.
I know most people, when they're able to have conversations like this, it can be very helpful.
But if there's any other questions that you have about the subject or you're trying to get in touch with someone, feel free to reach out.
You've got my contact info now, and I'll try to help you the best I can.
but Mike, thank you for coming on the show and spending some time with me during your morning.
So I really appreciate it.
Thank you, sir.
I appreciate you.
Let me be on here and tell my story as well.
Before we wrap this episode, I want to say something directly to a very specific group of listeners.
If you're in the military, any branch or forces, and if you've seen something that no one can explain,
or if you're a national park ranger or forestry worker who's been told to stay quiet,
if you're a pilot who's seen something strange down on the ground or if you're with the FBI,
a federal agency, or working intelligence, and you stumbled upon something you're not allowed to talk about,
and if you're a firefighter, paramedic, or search and rescue responder,
who's heard screams or found tracks that didn't make sense,
if you're in the logging industry on a remote oil field or trucker with government contracts,
and you've had something happen that you've never told a soul,
and if you're a biologist, a wildlife specialist, or a field researcher under contract,
who has found evidence you're not allowed to report,
if you're a pastor, a missionary, or someone on a spiritual retreat,
and you saw something that shook your faith,
or if you work in the shadows, CIA, NSA, or anything with clearance,
and you've seen what the public hasn't,
then I want to talk to you.
Even if it's anonymous, you can reach me,
at bigfoot society at gmail.com.
The world needs to hear what you've been forced to carry alone,
and you're not alone.
You've got the story.
We've got the mic.
See you in the woods.
