Bigfoot Society - A Hunter Asked for a Sign. Then a Massive Hand Covered His Head

During a solo elk hunt in the mountains of Eastern Oregon, Mark Parker began hearing the same unfamiliar grunting sound at approximately 9:30 every morning. Days later, a brown face appeared from behind a tree and watched him from only 35 to 40 yards away.That encounter led Mark into years of investigation with Darrell Adams near Cottage Grove and the mysterious Owl Moon Lab. I just saw the brown face. And I thought, ah, it's another hunter. He just got his face painted up. I'm like, now that ain't right. Mark Parker was bow hunting alone in the mountains between Austin Junction and Baker, Oregon. For days, an unfamiliar grunt sounded behind him at 9.30 each morning. Then a brown face appeared around a tree, and Mark had to determine exactly what he was seeing. And I'm Jeremiah Byron, and this is Bigfoot Society.

What got you into Bigfoot out there in Oregon when you're out there on the West Coast? So I was actually L-cutting by myself. I went over to Eastern Oregon. I was going to be out there for, I think, 14 days. And a buddy of mine was going to meet me there for just a couple. He was going to meet me there Labor Day weekend, but the rest of the time was going to be by myself. And I had some stuff that happened to me there.

That's what sent me down the rabbit hole. what had happened was you know as a hunter you always hunt with the wind in your face and I was bow hunting so in the mornings I'd be up the top of the mountain and in the evenings it'd be down in the bottoms and every morning like clockwork

I always keep my phone you know within reach just because I like if the animals are coming through I'd like to know what time they're coming through and to pattern them. And just in case I got to move to a different area to be able to get where they're, you know,

to get my opportunity at them. So, but every morning like clockwork, 930 back behind me, I'd hear this weird gruntin sound that I've never heard before in my life. And I just, whatever, never thought anything about it.

So, um, didn't think anything of it. Kept hunting in the bottoms in the evening. Well, Wednesday evening I was sitting down in the bottom over a wallow hole

with a bunch of elk rubs and stuff and that particular area is notorious for bears coming in and so I had a bear tag too and I just thought I'll take the opportunity to maybe see if a bear comes in on me that night so it's getting close to dark winds in my face and back behind me

I hear a quick go and I'm like, no, I'm going to get busted because the wind is just coming right off of me going back behind me. And I hear something walk up right behind me and thought, why is this thing not running? You know, an elk, a deer, a bear, anything should be running. And it's a thinned out reprod patch. So all the brush is just literally laying on the ground and it's all dried up.

And so you cannot be quiet in these woods. I mean, a squirrel sounds like a herd of elephants coming through. Well, it gets back behind me, and it stops, and it stands there. I'm not sure how long. It wasn't super long. And then it goes off to my left, and there's a trail that comes out my left-hand side and right-hand side, both, that go to that wallop. So I put my release on my string, and I lean out from behind this tree, getting ready to draw, waiting for whatever animal it is to step out.

And it stops right before it gets to the opening. So I'm just kind of waiting, wait, and waiting. And then it turns around, walks back behind me again, goes off to my right. Same thing. I spin around, wait, wait, wait, wait, nothing, nothing. And it does this thing probably four or five times, it's back and forth over, I don't know, 15 minutes. and finally gets back behind me

and I just hear this, boom, boom, boom, real loud tree knock. And I thought to myself, what the heck is that? It didn't dawn on me. It was a tree knock at the time. And I'm like, it was getting dark, getting close to dark. And I'm like, all right, I'm out. So I threw my backpack on, headed back, went to camp, the thing of it.

My buddy showed up Friday late night. And I was talking to him saying, hey, I got into the the elk over here, over there. You know, they were coming in here in the morning, coming in here in the evening. And then I told him, I said, man, I had this weirdest thing ever. I had a tree knocked behind me. He's like, dude, that's Bigfoot. And it was like, then it finally clicked, you know, because I've always believed, but at that point, it was like one of those until I see it. I'm not going to 100% say it's there. But, you know, there's too many, you hear of too many sightings and, you know, goes so far back and history and stuff. So, you know, you never know.

You know, I grew up in a house with a lot of paranormal activity. And the house that I, when I was a kid, was that way, the house I was living at at that particular time, me and my daughter would have all kinds of stuff. We would see shadow people walk by us all the time going from one bedroom to the other and then I got slapped in the house one time and stuff like that. So for me, anything is possible. Anything is possible. What year was that, would you say? 19, 2019.

2019. Okay, cool. And I know a lot of hunters, we're keeping our, usually we're keeping our hunting spots kind of vague. We're keeping it to eastern Oregon, correct? Yeah, well, I mean, I don't hunt out there anymore so I can kind of give you an idea. It's just out of Austin Junction between Austin Junction and Baker, but closer to the, it's out of anybody that goes over there, Austin Junction, there's Austin House. The road I turn off of is basically straight across from Greenhorn.

It's about 10 miles up the road, and then he cut in back in there. It's Courtney Creek, I believe. I believe it's Courtney Creek rode back in there. But that's not the only thing that happened in there. I had my first sighting a couple days later after that, Trina, too. Interesting.

I was wondering, because that's like southeast of Ukiah, and I've gotten a few things from Ukiah over the years to do with Elk Gai's. So that's very interesting. interesting. Okay, so you're saying, actually, are you, are you, man, whenever paranormal stuff comes up, do you mind if I, I do a little prayer real quick? Are you comfortable with that? Yeah, no, that's why. That's fine. All right. Cool. Dear God, thank you for this conversation. Help us to be safe during it, bind any demonic activity, and bind the devil during this conversation and in the lives of those who hear it. And the name of Jesus, amen. All right.

Thank you. So I've been taking that extremely serious as you'll start to hear in the show. So you're saying that this area over by Baker, you also had other things happen besides you're hearing this weird thing in the woods. That's very interesting. Yeah. Again, every morning kept hearing the same thing. And then I told my buddy Tom that Saturday night, I said, I'm going back in where I'm hearing that sound tomorrow morning.

I'm going to get sat down in there at least an hour before light. And that's my typical anyway. I try to get in first thing in the morning about an hour before light. That way any noise I make going in has kind of gone away and the animals will settle down and then start moving. So I got back in there, got set up behind a log, had a bunch of trails. out in front of me in a small, small meadow. So it gets light and it's just dead quiet in there, not hearing anything. And then off to my left, I catch a little bit of motion.

So I just kind of turn my head real slow and turn my eyes and I'm looking. And I catch something just kind of flash out and go right back in. And I thought, that's kind of weird, what the heck, you know? And then it flashed out again. and it came back and I caught caught it that time. And it was, I just saw the brown face. And I thought, ah, it's another hunter. He's just got his face painted up.

I'm like, now that ain't right because I would have heard him come in because all the blowdown and stuff and all from them thinning and stuff. I would have heard them come in and I never heard one sound coming in. So I just kept looking and then it stuck its head out. And I can see from like its head and shoulder kind of like this looking. from around the tree. And it sat there for probably 10, 15 seconds looking at me. And I'm staring at it going,

it just didn't register. I'm just looking at it like, what was that? It didn't register right away. And like I said, it was probably 15 seconds or so, and it pulled its head back. I never heard it walk off. Nothing. So I got up probably after about five minutes or so,

headed up over to hill, hit the, bottom hit the creek line got all the way back to camp packed up all my crap had it in the truck got in the truck was sitting there and then tom comes out after a while and he's like why are you all packed up i'm like i'm done i'm just i'm ready to go home i didn't tell him i didn't tell anybody right away what happened and i didn't even notice at the time but once the adrenaline crash or you know wore off and i crashed i'd peed my pants And I didn't even know it when I, you know, until after the fact. And anyway, Tom was saying, well, why are you leaving?

You still got like a week. I'm like, no, I'm done. I need to go home, see the family, all that stuff. I said, I'm just, I'm burnt out, you know, just kind of playing it off. And I was just way too tired to try and drive home Sunday afternoon. So I just slept and slept there that last night and headed out. I woke up. I don't know what time it was in the morning really early and drove home.

Oh, that's wild. How high up on the tree was when you saw the face like peeking out around the tree? I would guess if he was standing there, standing up, he was maybe seven-ish foot tall. He wasn't like super massive. But again, I don't know how far he was leaning. and, you know, if he was squatted or anything like that. But from just kind of what I saw, I would guess if he stood up, he'd probably been about, you know, seven-ish foot tall. Okay.

And how far away from you distance-wise was this again? Maybe 35, 40 yards. Oh, man. Wow. So like just over, well, tennis court is like 25 yards. Yeah. So, okay. Yeah, that's not.

that's not too far man um so it it affected you so and and that really plays and into things you hear and things i've experienced with adrenaline as well i mean it just it just wiped you out and you just slept uh did anything weird happened during um the time that you had that sleeping you're just wiped out and you eventually got to the way you could drive yeah i was crashed out i slept hard really hard at, right? So you're able to see it for a little bit. Were you able to see any facial features or emotions or anything like that? So I didn't get a lot of details because I just wasn't, I wasn't focused on that.

I was just focused on what and the heck is that, you know? Kind of apish looking, thin lips, nose like ours, but bigger and, you know, flat and wide. and the conical head. And then like his hairline, it came, and it was just kind of cleared his eyes, come down, cleared around his mouth, and, you know, the rest of it here. I couldn't tell you how long he was a chocolate brown fur

and chocolate brownish skin. I'd say the skin was probably just a little bit darker than his hair. And, you know, I could see that his eyes were like dark with white, I couldn't tell you like if they're brown. You know, I couldn't tell you any of that. Couldn't tell you if he had ears. Never, I don't know what his teeth looked. I don't know any of that.

I just, like I said, I wasn't focused on any of that. Yeah, it makes total sense. So you're saying you could see whites around the dark part of the island, the scolera. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. What was the trip like back home for you? I was by myself.

So it was just quiet all the way home. Just quiet the whole whole whole way kind of lot. your thoughts about it. Yeah. Yeah. That's wild. How long was it until you shared with someone what had happened? I told my buddy Tom who was there with me,

oh, it was maybe a week later. And then same with my ex-wife. I'd let her know around the same time. And Tom, he's like, man, you should have told me we would have went back in there and looked for tracks and stuff. And I'm like, no, we wouldn't have. Maybe you. I wasn't going back in there at the time.

There was no way. Man, it's talking to, I figured it out the other day, talking to over a thousand people, it affects people in different ways. And so my question then that I had was your buddy that you had left there, did he have anything happen? No, no, he ended up leaving the same time I did. When I got up and started the truck, because I was driving a diesel, so it's allowed, you know,

so he woke up too, and we both headed out the same time. He had to head back anyway because he had to go back to work. Okay. So having an experience like that can really affect individuals and a number of different ways. How were you affected after that? Were you a person who really got into the subject, or you're like, I just can't handle this.

I need time away from anything to do with Bigfoot, or was it a completely different path for you? At first, I just didn't know what to do. I didn't know who to talk to. You know, I'm not going to go to a shrink and say, hey I'd so big foot and you know listen to them so it ended up what I did I my buddy is a tattoo artist so I went in and he did a tattoo of the outline of state of Oregon with a big foot stepping out from behind a tree and a star word exactly it had happened and then at that time I was

still on social media so I had posted it on Oregon Bigfoot page. And this was, I don't know, maybe two weeks afterwards. After, I'd kind of calm down about it a little bit. And then I had somebody, a retired police officer from Eugene that had moved out to eastern Oregon. And he was doing a bunch of research out there and was asking me a few questions over messaging. and then he wanted to talk to me, you know, on the phone. So I talked to him.

Hmm. Why was it important to make a tattoo of that experience for you? Um, I don't know if it was just ink therapy or, or what, you know? Um, it was just kind of one of those, like now I have several big foot tattoos and people ask me about them. And by the way, they ask me is if I'll tell them or not. Because if they, you know, I'll, he's fan. I'm not going to waste my time telling somebody.

But if, oh, yeah, I believe in them or, you know, I've had some encounters. I'll tell them my story. But I don't know. Maybe it was just a way for me to cope with it. I'm not sure. Sure. The individual you're talking to the retired police officer that is now a researcher in out in eastern Oregon. Was he surprised when you had shared where the experience had happened or was it a thing where like, oh, yeah, I've seen other stuff happen out there, seen other reports, things like that?

Yeah, he had told me, you know, he asked me about the details and stuff like that. And I told him essentially what I told you, the color and stuff like that and what had happened. He said that that was pretty stereotypical what happens out there. and he's had some of the same experiences, him and his team out there. They would go out there a few times a year, and they would have like a big camp, or then they would, you know, do their thing from there, you know, go looking and stuff like that.

That's interesting. So I'm also very curious then, how did you get linked up or how did you get connected? to Daryl Adams and the just I've never been there but man yeah the people I have interviewed over the years not just

Daryl Adams but other guys from other time periods that have seen not just Bigfoot but things that look like aliens in Cottage Grove dude it's wild out there yeah so I actually I got hooked up through Daryl from that guy Mike that I was talking

to the retired police officer he asked me he says so do you want to learn more? And I'm like, yeah, absolutely. And he goes, I'll hook you up with this, hook you up with somebody and talk to him and go from there. Then he told me a couple of books to read and stuff like that. And so I called up Daryl and, you know, called him who I was and what had happened to me and stuff. And told him, you know, that Mike had gave me his number.

and I was ready to go down that rabbit hole. And boy, was it a hole. So the first time I met Daryl, you know, I met him at his house and we headed up to his area and I was talking with him and stuff. And I told him, you know, I was convinced it was an animal, 100% it's an animal. And I told them, I said, these Wu people are just. just absolutely crazy. And that's what I thought. And boy, my mind got changed down in the Al Moon Lab.

I was going to say, I wanted to make the connection, but you just made it. So you're meeting Daryl at his Al Moon Lab house, right? Not at his Al Moon House. When he moved away from there, he was in Cottage Grove, and I met him there. So we were going to the lab up, you know, up through the top area. Okay, perfect. Thank you. So, so wow, was it, what were the first things that started happening? Was it you had to go to Al Moon Lab and then you had weird stuff happen?

Yeah. Or was it? Yeah. Okay. So the first time we got there, he was kind of taken me all over. And apparently there, there's a lot up there that happens. And so we went down into his, you know, the Al Moon area. and we walked down and I'm like freaking out because there's tracks everywhere.

I'm like, holy crap. So I have a ton of pictures of tracks. Some with toes, some of them you can't see the toes. I have pictures with my hunting boot next to them. My hunting boot is 13 inches from heel to toe. And then sometimes I have like a dollar bill or a $5 bill, whatever piece of money I have in my wallet. I'll take pictures of it next to it for scale.

It seems kind of weird to say this, but after a while you've seen so many tracks in there, it's just like, it's just another track, whatever. And I would see tracks. I have pictures of tracks that are literally the size of my palm all the way up to, I think my biggest cast is like 16 and a half inches long. And like across here, front of the toes, it's like six and a half inches wide. and then on down from there, 12s and 14s and stuff. You know, people say, well, people got big feet, but it's not necessarily the length, it's the width and the depth into the ground that they are.

I'm six foot two at that time. I was probably 270, 275 pounds. And I would jump and come down and stomp into the ground as hard as I could next to the tracks. I couldn't even make a dent compared to what they were. I cannot make a dent. That same trip, he took me to another area

where some other guy had been, I can't remember what they call it. But anyway, he had a gifting log or whatever, and he put food out for him all the time. And it's pretty well known. I can't remember what his name was. I'm really bad.

No, it wasn't Tobin. It was somebody else. It was before Tobin was up right. And we were standing there and all of a sudden a rock come flying through the air and land, I don't know, maybe 10 feet from us. And it turned and I looked at Daryl and I'm like, that was a wreck that got thrown at us. And then all of a sudden you could hear out of the timber again that then it come flying and dropped in front of us again. and I look at Daryl and he goes, let's run in there and check it out. Let me tell you something.

Daryl is crazy. The dude is crazy when it comes to that stuff. If there's, he's going in right now on it. And, you know, at that time, no. You know, I still don't know. So no, I'm not doing that. I look at it. I'm like, there's no freaking way, Darrell.

I'm not going in there. And we just stood there and watched for a while to see if we could catch any money. motion or anything like that. And nothing, and so we headed out. But also, while we were there the first time, I found a hard-boiled egg laying right in the middle of the road. It was completely clean, not cracked, nothing. And so I was asking Daryl about it.

He goes, yeah, I put hard-boiled eggs down in here. And they like the hard-boiled eggs. He said, but they have to have the shells on them. If they peel them, they won't touch. them but if they left pull they'll take them so that's kind of where things started and from there the place i was working at we made uh airplane engine parts and that's when uh COVID hit and nobody was flying so we were on a furlough for a month so or well it ended up being a few months so I was going back and forth with them probably once a week up there

And it's just really a weird area because it's like a finger going all the way down into the bottom. And that whole ridge, as long as you're on that ridge, there is no noise. There's no birds, no squirrels, nothing. You hear nothing until you walk off, you get off that finger that goes down and go on to one of the others. And it's business as usual. But that one finger going all the way down never has anything going. going on. So we started, well, I didn't start, he had already been doing it, but I started doing some stuff too. Like I would put, we would make pee-p structures and the gaps would be maybe an inch apart with all these sticks all the way around.

And inside of it, we would put like a peanut butter jar with a screw on lid and we would put food in there, whether it be cookies and apple, granola bars, anything like that. We'd screw the lid back down, put it up, make sure the sticks are all the way around it. And we'd come back a week later. The stick structure would still be up, but the jar would be on the ground next to it, unscrewed, and the food would be gone.

Can I say Bigfoot did it? No, because I didn't see them do it. But something had to do it that had opposable thumbs to be able to pull that thing or, you know, unscrew it. Because if it had been in any other animal, It would knock down the teepee structure to get it, and the plastic on the peanut butter jar would be chewed up and gone. Or, you know, chewed up teeth marks in and stuff. And there was another.

It was just, it was absolutely perfect. It was just laying on the ground empty. They loved peanut butter cookies. So we were always putting up peanut butter cookies. So I have a trail cam. The first time I had set it up down in there, so they make this camouflage clothing, and it blocks because everybody puts off an electrical charge to them. And so this guy came up with this stuff.

It's called Hexgear, and it hides that stuff. So I actually cut the sleeve of one of my shirts off, wrap my camera in it, and then just cut out what I needed to for the camera to work. and I buried it in the ground just so that stuff was sticking out also. And I got pictures of something. It just kind of, you know, goes like this and whites it out where you can't see what it is. And then I show up and the cameras pulled out of the ground, turned upside down and put face down. Again, can I say Bigfoot did it? No, I don't know what did it, but something reached in the ground. Um,

So I changed it, put it in a stump, had the same thing. But before that, I had the camera set at a six-picture burst with no delay. So if something was there, it's literally just going tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. It'll never stop until that SD card fills up or my batteries die, one of the two. And so out in front of it, I had this brush, and it was just a bunch of brush and a bunch of fingers through it. And so I stuck cookies, a whole bag of nutter butter cookies in that thing. And went, checked it. All the nutter butter cookies are gone.

I'm thinking, all right, that's cool. And checked my card and was looking at it. And you see the brush like this with all the cookies in it. Then the next picture, it's shifted sideways like this, still has the cookies in it, comes right back. And there's no cookies in it. And that's when the weird started happening to me all the time. It was after that. It was literally in the middle of a burst.

So it was part of the first six pictures that were being taken. So it wasn't like, you know, being taken. And then it stopped and took again. It was literally in the middle of a tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. And I never got any pictures that any animals in there, no deer, no squirrels, nothing. If you got food out there, you know, bears are going to come in. All kinds of stuff's going to come in on it. but there was literally nothing, nothing.

You've seen the picture Daryl has of what looks like an alien, right? Oh, yeah, yeah. That happened when I was still thinking of. I never did. For that, oh, wow. I wasn't there. I was still hanging out there with him, but that particular day I was not there with him. Okay.

Wouldn't that happen? That's wild. That's wild stuff, man. And then, um, in April, of 2020 while I was on furlough, we went out there. It was a clear night, full moon, no rain. So I called up Daryl. Like, dude, let's go sit up there and see what we, you know, come across. So it was all right. So I met him there. And we went up. We took some chairs with us and stuff. So we walked down into the area and we're walking down through there.

and I found this big woven branch, a whole bunch of branches all woven together. And I'm like, Daryl, check this out. So he comes over there and on his way over, he goes, look, Mark, Forbes right there. And I turned around, but I didn't turn around to see him. He said, there's two white orbs going down towards the bottom. And he looks to me, he goes, dude, when this happens, bad stuff happens here. He says, stuff is going to happen tonight. and you could look in his face

and tell he was freaked out and like his arms were just covered in tooth bumps and hair standing up on the end and so I'm like okay here we go and I said well I said why don't we go

up and grab our chairs come back down like a little bit of the way and we'll sit down and and it was starting to get dark by then and so we got the chairs got them out sat down and I had night vision with me, but it was an older set. It's like a Gen 1. And so we're sitting there and Darrell's hearing stuff down in the bottom and I couldn't hear it because I've

worked around machinery my whole life. So I have hearing loss in my ears. And so there are certain tones that I can't hear that I couldn't hear. And then it started getting a little closer. And I finally heard something. I told Darrell, yeah, I can hear that, you know. And we're sitting there and it just gets quiet and nothing he's not or it's not moving or nothing is moving at that point and out in front of me pops up a red orb and I told Darrell look right there there's no orb and he looks up same thing we're like wow you know kind of freaking out a little bit and I sit back and I'm just kind of relaxing for a second I'm like dude some don't feel right and then all sudden my arms started getting covered in goosebumps and hair standing up and I told Daryl,

I just kind of whispered over to him because we're trying to be quiet. I'm like, so not right, man. And I throw up my monocular and outsteps one. Oh, he's maybe 20 yards from us, but comes out from behind one tree, walks across the trail, goes back behind some other trees going down to the trail. Yeah. And I'm like, holy crap. And it scared me because I just wasn't expecting it.

I mean, I guess you never really are. But I went kind of running backwards in my chair trying to get out. And we got up the hill, got out of there. I'm talking to terror. I'm like, holy, you know, whenever I'm in the woods, I always have a gun on me. And it's not, I'm not worried about Bigfoot, to be honest. It's the other stuff, the cougars. Up there, there's a lot of meth and a lot of meth heads.

you know, a little mobile labs and stuff. So I always have a gun on me when I'm in the woods. And it's a 44 mag, and I told Terrell, I said, this thing's something happened. This is going to be taking up. It's not going to do any good. So he goes, well, we'll go back and get the chairs or I'll go back in the morning.

I said, well, why don't you wait for me to come up? I'll go with you. And he ended up going up and the next day and getting it. It was like two days later. I went with them up there. And so we checked where it had walked through. And the trail that it was on went to this gifting stump that we always used. We always, always put a ton of cookies on there.

We would lift up this. There was a huge rock that we put on there. We would lift it up and put a bunch of cookies underneath it. And then put the rock back down. And, you know, squirrels and stuff like that aren't going to be able to move it. And we would come back and we'd lift the rock up. All the cookies would be gone, but the rock could still be there. So, you know, we were figuring he was just grabbing the rock, picking it up,

pulling it out the cookies, and then laying it back down. Can we say he did it? No, we didn't physically ever see him do it. But so anyway, so in my backpack that I always had with me, I had a tape measure and where the trail that he was walking, and the tree that he was by, we measured, and he was about nine foot tall. So I could see him from about mid thigh, maybe just a little bit below mid thigh, walking across when he went in front of us.

His chest, I couldn't see anything on his face because, like I said, he turned sideways and he just went and walked through. but his chest he was every bit of two foot you know maybe 28 inches something like that I deal with measurements all the time so I just kind of can ballpark pretty being close but he was every bit of two foot probably pushing 28 inches

thick from from chest to back okay it was just massive absolutely massive um was it so I guess in this this scenario you would have had much more of you than you did over in eastern Oregon

because you saw it actually walking over. So it was walking over where you saw the red orb then? Yes. Yeah. Okay. The red the red d' orbs were out in front of me and then the tree was just kind of off to the side just a little tiny bit.

And it stepped out from there. And I saw it for about maybe 10 yards of walking. So I actually saw that one for less time than what I saw the first one. This is the first one, like I said, he stuck his head out and he stared. This one just was walking past. So whatever it took him to walk 10 yards, which was just a few steps. We ended up there with kind of a family down in there because we could tell where, again, we're guessing by,

the size of tracks and stuff. That one we called, we figured was like the alpha male. I've got casts at his tracks. And then I've got like measurements where I would measure from heel to heel of him taking a step. And it was at 64 inches. So he's, you know. Oh, man. It's big. More than five feet.

Wow. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Oh, man. How big were the orbs that you were seeing down there? You mentioned white in this red one. So I didn't see the one Daryl's, that Daryl saw.

I didn't see those two. But the red one, it looked, because it's really weird because it was, they're bright, but it's almost like a glow stick, you know, they're putting off light, but they're not, it wasn't lighting stuff up. And I would guess size wise, a little bit bigger than a, uh, a, uh, a, softball, but it wasn't as big as like a basketball. So it was kind of in in that range, but closer to the softball size because it was kind of hard to judge too because it's, you know, it's dark and you see this in there, but you can't really see exactly where,

you know, the distance because it's dark. I mean, we're in the timber, you know. Absolutely. Was that the one time that you had been able to have a visual of a big foot in that area? That was the first, yes. Well, that was my only visual, but Daryl's had several visuals in that area. Absolutely. You mentioned that when you had done things with the camera, then there were weird things that started to happen afterwards. Were there any other weird things that happened in that area that you would want to share? or how about this?

Well, I was going to tell you afterward with sharing. It's up to you, I was going to tell you afterwards and I'll be it's up to you. No, I'll tell you. Okay. So, you know,

I found some juvenile tracks that were maybe five inches long, six inches long at the most. And it was right at the edge of a cliff, or not really a cliff, but a steep embankment going down.

And there was a creek down there. And I stepped up to the edge of it. And I'm looking over the edge of it, and I'm looking over the edge, thinking, okay, I want to get down there and look at the creek and see if I can see some new fresh tracks and, you know, bigger tracks and stuff in there and see what's in there. And this is some of the strange crap that I would have. I leaned over and I'm looking for a way down.

and in my head, I heard, no, you're not. And I'm just like, okay, I'm not. And I backed off. It wasn't me. And I don't know how to explain it, but it wasn't me. And I backed off and I told Daryl about it. And he's had, I don't know if he's had it, but he's heard of people having it around that area too, the Miamispeak.

And I just, that kind of tripped me out. And that's not the only thing I've had happen. So since I'm going to spill the beans on some stuff, even when that, my first thing that happened to me walked up behind me in eastern Oregon, I had heard the episode on Sasquatch Chronicles where Les Stroud was there.

And he was having the mindspeople. And kind of as he was talking, he's like, you know, are you going to call me a liar? You weren't there. You don't know. And so I just kind of had that I always had that kind of thing. Like when people, when I started going down to big foot rabbit hole and people would tell me stuff. And a lot of times I think, man, that's really out there. And then I kind of would think what he said was, you know, you're going to call him a liar.

You weren't there. And anyway, that night I was sitting there and in my head, while I was behind that tree, I just put it out there. If there's anybody here, let me know. If you guys are out here, let me know. Give me a sign. And that was a sign. Coincidence?

Yeah, maybe. Or was it? So that was in Eastern Oregon or Cottage Grove? That was Eastern Oregon. That was when I had my very first, when I had the night of the tree knock, the night of the tree knock was what. That really, that changes a lot. because it's not just that you had a sighting,

it's that you did almost a mentally reach out where you're like, hey, if something's here, then I am inviting it in and show me. And man, they showed you, dude. Wow. So the following year, I went back there to Eastern Oregon hunting with my buddy Tom again. My dad was with me and another buddy of ours, Kerry.

And this was another thing I was gonna tell you after the show, But like I said, I'm just going to spill the beans on some of this stuff because I haven't told anybody this on any other interviews that I've done other than one guy. But he's kind of a friend, become a friend. So, again, I was listening to the same show. And just that episode had to do with the Sierra Sounds. And in my head, I just put it out there. You know, I'm laying out in the open. And I just had my cot laying out and I had a tarp tied to the trees between me just to keep the pine needles from landing on me and keep them out of my sleeping bag and stuff like that.

And I'm laying there and I said, hey, this is me. I was there. I was here last year. You're the one that showed me, you know, showed yourself to me and stuff. If you're here, if you'd let me know, I'd like to know. And I just put that out there again. and the next thing I know, I feel this massive hand just absolutely lay and engulfed my head from the back of my head that I was laying on my side from the back of my head all the way around to like my nose. I felt the hand touched me and it was plain as day.

I felt it touching me. It wasn't imagination, nothing. I could feel it touched me and it was gone and it was nothing there. I never heard anything. nothing. I never heard anything walk off, come in, go out, nothing. So like I said, that happened after that was, you know, after I was thinking, oh, it's an animal. And then started having that stuff with Daryl. And then that's when I started kind of shifting over to the other side. Absolutely. I want to ask a few questions because that is absolutely fascinating.

Are you saying then that, because were you on the inside, inside a tent and it reached through like up against the tent or you could feel like it was up against your face, but there's nothing there? It was on my face. I was not in a tent. I literally just had my caught laying out out in the open. When we hunt Easton, Oregon, 90% of the time, a lot of it were off our back. So wherever we stopped that night, when I was younger, it was that way. Whenever we stopped, we threw our sleeping back out on the ground. That's where we were. Just this place, we had a camp, but I wasn't in a tent or anything. I literally just had my caught out in the open, and I just had a tarp tied up in the trees above me just to keep the pine needles off me,

keep them out of my sleeping bag and stuff like that. Other than that, I was in the open. Okay. What was your immediate emotional response to that happening where it is on the side of your face like that? That's got to be just wild. I just said thank you. And that's all I did. And just had my mind blown.

Wow. That is so wild. So if I was to hear that account from 99% other people, that response would be like one of horror or, or. what's happening to me, but it's just thank you. That's amazing, Mark. Wow. Well, it's one of those I'd had so much stuff with Daryl. I can't even recall everything that's happened with me and him down in there just because

it was all the time. It was all the time. I couldn't tell you how many trenox. Like I said, it got to the point with tracks. It was like, eh, it's just a set of tracks. Who cares? The only thing I'll have to say with tracks, though, you would literally follow a set of tracks. And there'd be, I don't know, 20 to 30 steps.

And then all of a sudden, there'd be no more tracks and no place for it to go. There's no trees there. Nothing for it to grab a hold of and climb and get out of. We would see stuff like that all the time. And it's not that the substrate that they were walking on changed. everything was the same. It would just be gone. It would absolutely be gone.

So the tracting, that kind of always was the one thing that would blow my mind about the seeing tracks is just, you know, I'd always go and look and see how far they would go before they would disappear. But they always disappeared. They're never, I never went very far, never more than like 20, 30 steps and then they would be gone. So even like when we would pull up there was we always drove Daryl's truck. And I kind of have a thing I thought, just like my dogs, when I come home from work, they know the sound of my vehicle. I pull up there bouncing around all excited and stuff like that. Every time Daryl and I went up there or Daryl would go without me, he took food up there and put food out for him. It was always the same thing again.

cookies, hard-boiled eggs, peanut butter, peanut butter cookies. We always put food out every single time. And so I think they recognize the sound of his truck because we would always, again, park in the same area. And we would literally get out of the truck, walk to the edge of the hill before we'd go over the side down in there. And we'd hear the whoop, whoo, and I'd turn around, look at that. Yeah, they know we're here.

You know, they knew they knew they were there or we were there. So they knew food was coming. And I think that's why that night that we were sitting there on the hillside that I saw my, you know, had my second encounter or siding because the trail he was on went right to the gifting stump. So we think he just came up out of the bottom, knew we had left food, and was going to the food. we would set up other food traps trying to catch stuff. We would stick double stick tape and like loop it around branches.

And then in the middle of it we would put a hard boiled egg. And it would come back, hard boiled egg would be gone. Tape would still be there and there'd be fingerprints in it and stuff. But, you know, we never did anything with the, you know, other than looking at it, take pictures of it. Oh, that's pretty cool. But, you know, we never did it. anything with it. It's not like we're going to, we didn't send it in or anything. I know he did with

some hair and stuff. Him and Tobe did. But as far as me and Daryl, we never never sent anything in. So what was your normal reaction? Let's say if you're in the Al-Moon Lab area with Daryl, how are you normally reacting to all this, these strange things and sightings and orbs that were going on around you? At first it really freaked me out. But then like I said, things started happening so much and so often, the more you saw, the more you were around, you just kind of get used to it. I mean, it still would, you know, make your arm hair stand on in and stuff with the crazy stuff and start happening. But it wouldn't like absolutely freak me out over it, not like it did at the beginning.

it's it's such an interesting area one i've never been to i've been to oak ridge a ton and it's you know it's just a different way to get there from eugene you take 50 like ohcrate you're going to 58 instead of uh was it like i5 down to cottage grove something like that yeah yeah i have a friend that hunts up there in oak ridge and and um i used to shoot archery competitive and so i'd travel all over and he was one of my buddies and I didn't know at the time but you know as I started traveling with him and stuff he kind of slipped out and let me know that he had had a bunch of encounters up at Oak Ridge he would find the the tree breaks tracks he'd smell them he had a log thrown at his truck hit the bed of his truck he's had all kinds of stuff happen

up there so to him and his other hunting buddy and his son oh wow that's that's wild uh just off to the side if you ever would be open to talk to someone i'd love to talk to him um so something i hear about that cottage grove area you always it seems uh were you ever uh were you ever nervous about the hitchhiker effect or things falling you home from that area? So here's another kind of weird thing. You know, I was right at the end, I was getting divorced and was talking to somebody else on the phone, my now girlfriend, but I had moved out and was living with somebody, you know, living with a relative

while I decided what I was going to do because I knew I didn't want to stay in Oregon anymore. I was kind of tired at Oregon. And when I get on the phone with her, something would if I made like a noise like I would,

sometimes I'll snap my fingers like that and then I would stop. And then in the phone, she would hear something else duplicate me. Whatever I would do. If I made like a popping sound with my noise, my mouth. A few minutes later, she'd hear the same thing come over the phone. After it, I'd already been talking to her. And then while I was sitting in, I was living with my aunt at the time, and I was sitting in my bedroom in there one night on the phone and had an

orb come out of the wall, go under a desk, and then underneath my bed. And that one was, that one was kind of white with a little bit of purple almost looked like purple lightning going through it and it was same thing it was a little bit bigger than a softball maybe like halfway between a softball and a basketball it was pretty good size uh go through um inside the house my goodness yeah and like i said i've always like my last house that i was living in in Oregon um we had an Indian burial ground not too far from where we lived. And I had stuff happen all the time in the house. I was actually talking with the people from a flash of beauty doing an interview with them.

And they watched something walk behind me. And they asked, is somebody there with you? And I'm like, no, I'm here by myself. And they said, well, we caught something walk behind you. And that house, like I said, me and my house. My daughter would be up in the family room upstairs and we would out of the corner where I catch stuff walking out of my bedroom into her bedroom all the time. One time I was asleep, I always sleep with earbuds in. I have to have noise background noise.

If I don't, my brain just bling all night long and I won't sleep. And I got slapped and then had the earbud ripped out of my head and I was the only one home. I've had my kitchen cupboard or it sounded like somebody opened the kitchen cupboard grabbed all my pots and pans picked them up and dropped them on my floor

and actually I thought somebody was in my house so I grabbed my gun and I went running downstairs and like my dog she hung up at the top of the stairs she wouldn't go down the stairs I went running down the stairs the gun in my hand going to the kitchen and nothing's there

pots and pans are where they belong but playing as day, I heard them just on the hardwood floors in the kitchen, but nothing there. So I've always been around that kind of stuff. So I think, I know a lot of people say once you see Bigfoot, some of them will trust you and they'll let you see them again and again. I don't know how much validity there is to that. But I think if you are open to things, and I'm not saying like, you know, letting demons in or anything like that.

But if you're open to like, okay, yeah, you know, I think UFOs are real and stuff like that, they're more open to show themselves to you. And maybe the same thing with Bigfoot. Maybe it's the same thing with the paranormal. normal. You know, I don't know. It's hard to say, you know, because like my, at that time, like we would hear people walking in the house, me and my daughter, we would be there. But my ex-wife, she never heard anything, never saw anything at the house, but she had blinders on to everything. Nothing was real. None of that was real. She didn't believe me that I saw Bigfoot. thought I was

for a trap but right and you're 100% on where if if it's an individual

where they're like oh yeah there's weird stuff out in the world then it's aim on man and be aware

of what might what might come in so that's when things like prayer and stuff can help

greatly um wow so it sounds like so you moved out to Ohio but it sounds like you

really haven't been out, like doing any bigfoot stuff, maybe taking a break once you moved out there? I haven't because, again, I don't know anybody out here that's into it. I'd love to get into a group that does it out here and be able to go out with them, you know, meet somebody like a Darrell or something that's into it. But I just, you know, I'm not on social media anymore. So I never really got into meeting anybody out here that does it. Now, I hunt up in Michigan, up in Northern Michigan, not into the UP, but just Northern Michigan.

And my girlfriend, her uncle, had a sighting up there. He was coming home from the cabin and had one run across from the line. lake side back into the timber in front of him. You know, we were probably, we left maybe an hour after him. We had no idea. He never told him, it told us for a long time. And he knows that I'd had sightings and stuff. But he just, he was kind of the same way.

He just thought, I'm crazy. I don't want to say anything to anybody. You know, he was kind of, I guess, the same thing everybody goes through. Or I would imagine everybody goes through that they don't want to, um, come out right away saying, oh, guess what I saw, you know. You know, like I had one guy, send me some stuff on messenger and stuff. Well, you're just doing this to be famous. No, I'm not.

I make absolutely no money off anything I've ever done, no interviews. I don't want to make money. I don't care. I don't want to be famous. If I wanted to be famous, I'd certainly pick something else to get into. then be the crazy guy that you know has seen big foot yeah 100% right um it yeah it's it always gets me when when you hear that tossed around i mean yeah just it is not the highest ranking thing on youtube get into like financial uh literacy or something like that right but that's a different

discussion um so wild stuff now you have mentioned, you kind of mentioned it in passing. So there's definitely, it sounds like a spot where you got from thinking that Bigfoot is some kind of animal to, hey, there's something else going on here. There's maybe some paranormal things. So I'm guessing, was there a certain situation? Maybe we've already even discussed it where it really pushed you over the edge. And it's like, okay, what we're dealing with cannot be explained as some undefined. discovered great ape out in the woods. Yeah.

I think it was just a buildup over time. I can't say that just one specific thing changed me because, you know, I would see, you know, okay, because I always, you know, like a lot, you know, I have a friend of mine at work that he lives in or has a place up in northern Michigan that he's had encounters. He has them slapping his cabin at night certain times of the year. here's the whoops, finds the tracks, all that stuff. And, you know, we'll look at a lot of stuff. And 99% of what you see out there is just crap. I mean, it's, you know, and especially now with all this AI. So we kind of, I just kind of, I was kind of numb to a lot of this stuff.

I would just kind of start, you know, again, I guess I'm drifting off a little bit. I tend to do that. but there was really no one thing that kind of sent me, you know, over that. I would see, like I said, you know, you would see the tracks going on and then they would disappear. And I've always, like, tried to debunk everything. Like, you know, some people, they hear a crack in the woods. Ah, it's big foot. Is it?

You mean, there's no elk out here? There's no bears out here. There's no deer out here. They can walk and make that branch break, you know? So I've always tried the debunk stuff. But when you would see the tracks and they would disappear, I would always think, okay,

there's got to be a tree or something that they're jumping into or climbing or whatever and going away in. But when you can't find anything, it makes you just kind of think, oh, that's kind of weird. So you just kind of store that back there. And then when I would get pictures and see the branches go, and then the cookies are gone.

Okay, how'd that happen? You know, again, can I say Bigfoot did it? No, because I don't have pictures of them doing it. But it was just stuff like that all the time. And then after the Minespeak happened, that's when it was like, okay, there's something else to these things because that, the Minespeak thing had happened probably maybe a month or month. and a half into hanging out with Daryl up there.

You know, I was seeing some of the other stuff, but finally that was the one thing that at the end, I was like, okay, yeah, yeah. But it wasn't solely just because of that. It was, you know, the other things that I had seen and, you know, what happened there, that it just kind of all built it up or built up and made me go the way, you know, think the way I think. So I've always just kind of left things that, you know, people ask me about or whatever. And I don't know, man.

I don't know. I don't. You know, I can tell you what I've seen, what I've heard, what has happened. I can tell you that you can draw your conclusions from there. But I don't know. Right. Yeah, absolutely. when you guys were in that area, would you ever hear like disembodied voices or your names being called from the woods or anything like that?

I never did. I never did. I can't speak for Daryl, but I personally never heard anything like that. The only the noises that I would hear were the once or a while, you know, we'd hear screens, but we'd hear the loops more than anything. You just hear that quite a bit. And then, you know, I know they weren't vocal, but the tree knocks, we would hear the tree knocks quite a bit too.

Do you think the activity was limited to the area that you would spend time with, you would spend there with Daryl or were there other places in the area that you would check out have activity happening. There was other spots. So that place that I was talking about having the rocks thrown at us, that was a complete different area. I mean, it was still a cottage grove and it was probably as the crow flies, maybe three, four miles away.

So it wasn't terribly far away, but it was a different area. And we had the tree knocks there. We would find tracks down in there. Then again, we had the rocks thrown at. us that one day. We went back to that same area because it had been snowing up there. And we went back. I don't know how long afterwards that we had the rocks thrown at us. And I walked back in because what it was, it was a big intersection in the road. It was a big three-way. So, and out of the trees in the middle here, we were standing in the road down in here. Then it forked. And the rocks came out of

the middle throwing at us. So I walked back in there. And I found out of the trees. a bunch of cracks back in that area. My goodness. I've heard so many things from that area over the years. I mean, if you go further east, like, sightings over by Culp Creek and weird stuff by Sharp's Creek. And I mean, then you got like Bohemia Mines. Heard many sightings and weird stuff over there.

I mean, there's some historical ones, too, if you go far back in the historical record with the newspaper articles. but the whole area dude is just is this weird uh weird is all kind of weird too because when we when we would get up there and pull over and get out of the truck you i don't know what it was but you always do okay yeah they're in here today or no they're not even if you couldn't hear anything you just kind of had that you had that feeling it just always had a weird weird feeling to it and we would get in there and i'm like you know and darrell would say the same thing i think they're here today and I'm like yeah I think so too and you know sometimes we would get a reaction

down in there you know later or sometimes you know we would say it's just I don't know I don't think they're in here you just I don't know it just it was like you just felt different and I don't know if it was just in our head but we would both always feel the same thing yes they're here or nor they're not it's not like you know I said they were and he said they weren't it was always the same thing. Yeah, they're here today or no, they're not here today. Was it, uh, was it anything that you would notice, uh, on your physical person that would change during that time? No, it was just kind of, you know, in your gut, you just kind of, you could just kind of feel it. So, you know, we would find also, another thing we would

find in there all the time, um, were triangles. There were triangles everywhere in there. They would take sticks and lay them out on triangles on logs. They'd be on the ground. Some of them they would weave together, and they would hang them on stobbs on the tree trunks. We'd see that quite a bit. Woveen branches. I've got so many pictures of woven bushes.

Like I have one that's really cool. It's two like this, and they come up, and then they are tied into a complete circle. I've got a lot of that stuff. All kinds of woven stuff up there. Again, a lot of it, you hate to fit, but you see it all the time and you just kind of get numb to it. It's like, okay, it's just another woven branch or whatever. We've had logs where the ends of them are rotten and literally I'll have 10 or 15 branches that are probably, you know, inch and a half, two inches around jammed into the end of it, just hanging out.

Big foot to it. I don't know. but something with hands had to do it, you know? The way that you're describing the woven from the Cottage Grove area, I've had other people send me pictures like that from the same area, and it's like almost very unique for the area. And I think, I don't know if she still has it, but Priscilla even had one on display at the area,

58 museum in Oak Ridge. Really, really cool stuff. It's just like it does not happen by itself in nature. There's no way possible it's happening by itself in nature. No. It's nuts. No. And when you can physically see like where the branches are twisted and split open and

stuff like that. Yeah. No, it's not. That's again, can I say Bigfoot did it? No, because I didn't see him do it. But some, who's going to walk down in the bottom of a freaking canyon, weave up a bunch of, branches and walk back out of there.

I mean, come on. Absolutely. Logically, it doesn't make sense. And I mean, then you got the stuff up in Mount Hood National Forest. You see if you go in the woods, that's a whole story in itself. But it's just, it's weird, man. It's so

weird. Mark, thank you for sharing about, you know, what you've experienced over the years. Cottage Grove, especially, is a weird place. it's always a treat when I'm able to talk to someone about their experiences and it's like as I said before it doesn't matter if it's in you know 20 or 2020 or the 1990s or the 1990s

it's still going on it doesn't matter what time frame it was is so so weird so I want to say thank you so much for for coming on the show Mark are you the kind of individual where if people want to reach out to you about stuff that you've mentioned.
