In this episode, I talked to Tim, a long haul trucker from the Keenai Peninsula in Alaska. what exactly did Tim see those nights while driving down the Seward Highway? Find out this and more on this episode of the Bigfoot Society podcast. All right, Bigfoot Society.
Starting point is 00:02:43 We've got the privilege of talking to Tim from Alaska today. He had said that he's had some very interesting encounters that happened up there in the state of Alaska. How's it going tonight, Tim? Is there anything else that the listeners should know about your background that will help with you sharing your stories tonight? At the time when I saw him, I was long hauling between Anchorage, Seward, Keeney, Fairbanks, and the particular area that I saw these two encounters that I drove every single day, sometimes twice. today. And so I was very familiar with the scenery, just everything as far as along the road. Sounds good. Let's go ahead and I'll have you start right in with your stories of what you saw when you were long-haul trucking. Okay. The first encounter was, I believe it was end of September, beginning of October.
Starting point is 00:04:02 the leaves had already fallen off the trees so you could see pretty clear with a brush that in the particular area that was pretty low lying it was probably about five foot tall and I was just driving along and I come around a corner and I saw somebody walking across the street or the road and I was just out in the middle of nowhere. and before I come around the corner, there's a cabin right here on this corner that people would frequent throughout the summer and stuff. And I didn't see any vehicles there when I came around the corner. So I was puzzled when I saw the person walking across the street. And at a glimpse, it looked like they were wearing dark brown corduroys with a real light tan shirt, pretty slender, real long hair, like down to the shoulders on the facial area, which I thought, just, you know, somebody that had long hair. I was just thinking of myself, that somebody is out here in the middle of nowhere. I didn't see anybody at the cabin.
Starting point is 00:05:34 So I'm wondering if they're parked up around the corner. There's another corner about where I saw him walking. He wasn't going very fast. Normally like a typical regular person, they see somebody come and they scurry across the road. It's just very laxadaisious, very slow. just like a not of care in the world. And I kicked myself in the butt for not watching a little bit longer
Starting point is 00:06:14 because as soon as he got to about quarter turn, I guess for about halfway to looking to his shoulder, and check my rear view mirrors because sometimes people, even out of the middle of nowhere, would be right on your butt in a semi, and as slow as he was going, and I figured I might have to slam on my brakes here pretty quick. I better to double check, make sure anybody. And look, there wasn't anybody, and I was watching,
Starting point is 00:06:58 and that's about when I saw walk up to the guardrail, that's when I realized what I was looking at, because when he went to step over, the guardrail came up about halfway, maybe just a little bit over halfway up the shin. And I was always supposed to see it to believe a kind of person. And I just couldn't believe my eyes. And I'm just thinking, no way.
Starting point is 00:07:36 That can't be what I'm, what I think it is. And I'm driving, I think, around 72 miles an hour. And I'm like, I'm going to be there in about, one to two seconds, if not sooner. I just kept watching. And it just looked like it floated, just collided down the side of the embankment, which was probably, I'm guessing, 10 to 15 feet maybe.
Starting point is 00:08:10 And knowing where he had gone off the road there, it was like I had mentioned, a low-lying brush. and it was open. And I said, if that's what I think it is, I'll be there in a second, and I'm going to see it. And that second came, and I slowed down, and I was looking, I figured it would be running. It'd be, I didn't really know what to expect. And I just, I ended up passing the area and just sitting there thinking of myself, like, I had to have been a moose.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I'm trying to make up some kind of logical explanation in my mind for what I just witnessed. So I was trying to think of, you know, like on a four-legged animal, say, hinging, but you can see how they walk versus just glided right down the side of the bank there. And as tall as it was, it would have been standing away up. If it's lying down, excuse me, if it's laying down, I'm up high enough in the semi where I can see down and I could see the floor of the tundra up there. Yeah, that was the first experience. Do you mind if I ask you a follow-up questions about that story? Sure.
Starting point is 00:09:58 That's a fascinating story. Just the fact that you said the guard, went halfway up his shin. That's incredible or up the creature's shin. How far away were you from the nearest town or civilization?
Starting point is 00:10:16 It sounds like it was a kind of a remote area. I'd probably say the nearest town of me was Cooper's Landing, which is down on the Keny Peninsula, south of Anchorage, about
Starting point is 00:10:33 maybe hour and a half, two hours or So it's very small. I got one. It was probably about 15 miles or so from there. So I was really kind of out and remote, but it was a very remote wilderness where I was at. It's pretty, Alaska's pretty vast.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Did you notice anything about the creature's arms when you saw it for just a few seconds? It looked like the arms had hung down longer than normal. because it almost looked like it wasn't quite all the way to the knee, but it was, or maybe around the knee. I can't recall the specifics. Everything seemed like it happened in slow motion. It all happened pretty quick because he was walking sideways. I could just, like a beanstock.
Starting point is 00:11:35 And a person I thought, what I initially saw it. If you had to give an estimate as to how tall the creature, was, what would you say? Uh, nine to ten foot tall. Wow. And Tim, did you notice anything about the head structure or the top part of the creature when you saw for a few seconds? Nothing out of the ordinary other than thinking.
Starting point is 00:12:12 It was like somebody that had really long hair down to shoulder, maybe a little bit below shoulder. I would have probably thought that the hair just was parted or something. and you couldn't really cover in the face. I can't think of anything else right off to being darker on the dirty blonde on the upper. It just looked like it just didn't have a care in the world. And that was one of my first thoughts was I didn't want to run. How did that sighting affect the rest of your travel that day?
Starting point is 00:13:03 I was in disbelief. I was really just kind of, I kept telling myself it had to have been a moose. It had to have been something else other than that without freaking myself out. I was a little bit worried about saying anything because I'm just not one to tell a story, especially something like that. And then I don't want to be ridiculed or anything like that. It's very interesting because I believe in your account you had said that you saw it on two legs, but yet the human mind when it sees something like that.
Starting point is 00:13:52 It's trying to make sense of what is it that I saw. It's got to be a moose. It's got to be something else. There's no way it could be that. And that's just such a fascinating detail for you to throw in there. Were you actually able to see it cross the road then? When I first come around the corner, I looked at that house or the cabin there. It was just starting on the passing lane,
Starting point is 00:14:24 it probably was just like maybe a I don't think it was even halfway into the oncoming traffic lane going from left to right so I had watched it only a couple steps if I had seen that I would just be replaying that over and over
Starting point is 00:14:53 and in my mind a few times for sure that is fascinating thank you for sharing that around Cooper landing Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula. Very cool. Do you mind sharing your second encounter, Tim? The second encounter was just probably about... Hi, Diva.

Starting point is 00:16:00 Not everyone at risk will develop it, But I did. The painful, blistering rash disrupted my life for weeks. Don't learn about your shingles risk the hard way. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist today. Sponsored by GSK. It said everything happens for a reason, but maybe everything happens for a recess. Take noise-canceling headphones.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Do they block hearing to heighten taste? Hmm. That sound seems to show. Everything happens for a recesses. one to two miles away from that one. This one was, I think, around February. So it was a few months after that first initial sighting. I'd passed through that area before, like the winter previous.
Starting point is 00:16:50 And in that same area, you'd be driving along and it'd look over, and there'd be foot, it looked like human foot tracks. And I'd imagine that the snow is pretty deep because some of the moose they're pretty tall. They're probably about eight, eight foot or more, at least eight foot up to their butt. The snow is so deep, they have a tendency to walk on the road a lot,
Starting point is 00:17:22 preserve their energy. And I have a recording where we are following a moose and it's running down the road. And then after it just got too tired, it jumped off. The moose had just almost disappeared. So that's when I saw those tracks out there thinking that's odd that it looks like almost human tracks. You know, because if it was a four-legged animal, the underbelly of it would be dragging.
Starting point is 00:17:56 The tracks would just be a little probably more shuffled or mulled together, which was in almost that same area where I saw that initial siding. And the second one, it was middle of winter. and it was just past it as I'm going north, one to two miles. And it was probably about midnight, one o'clock in the morning. And it was a full moon. So the lights don't carry as well when it's a full moon. And just past where I saw, there's some other where snowmobiles would go generally in the wintertime.
Starting point is 00:18:45 and pullouts are probably three, 300 feet or so long, and they're pretty wide because they'll be pulling trailers, stuff like that for their snowmobiles. It was really cold. I remember the full moon. It was maybe a little bit cold. And I'm getting tired a little bit. I get to one of those pullouts. There's two of them. They're on the right-hand side.
Starting point is 00:19:29 And I get to where I could see a little bit, and I see the shadow of something. And when I first initially seen it, it was just kind of walking. I'm just, I didn't really, I figured it was probably a moose or something. And I hadn't seen any trucks or trailers. anything like that because sometimes I'd pull over I was pulling I'd pull doubles a lot so we're like
Starting point is 00:20:03 134 feet long so you can't just pull over anywhere when I first seen it it just was walking and the closer I got it was getting ready to like surprised it and it was getting ready to bolt to the left and it made that body gesture movement like it was getting ready to run in it thinking, oh, might have just said, well, I'll screw it. I'll just keep going. And so at this point, I'm thinking, I'm looking around for vehicles. I thought maybe somebody was broke down, my initial thought. So I'm looking for vehicles, snowmobiles, anything like that. But I'm also looking on the object to try to see any kind of reflective gear, like a face mask, a visor, or any kind of reflectiveness on the coat or snow pants, gloves,
Starting point is 00:21:12 something like that. And I didn't see anything. and the object was just this one I could tell and it was wider and it just was walking just meandering towards me so I could see how wide it was and it must have been about four foot wide
Starting point is 00:21:44 maybe a little bit wider and it's walking towards me and I'm starting to slow down a little bit because I must have been going about 5560. And as I'm watching it, it would stay just on the outside of my light, what my light would carry for my lights. And it's as I'm getting closer and I'm slowing down and I'm really just focusing on what this is.
Starting point is 00:22:17 as I had mentioned it was about 20 some below and so I'm thinking if it's if they needed help or anything like that just etiquette especially that cold middle of nowhere as I'm getting closer I could see how big the belly was this belly on this I couldn't touch my hands together maybe three medicine balls all in one if not bigger than that. And it just had this kind of a waddle. And it was dark because, you know, the moon and stuff was behind it. And this one I didn't quite get as good of a clear picture as I did during the day of that first one. But it's walking kind of at a diagonal towards the white line from where it was.
Starting point is 00:23:39 And as I'm getting closer, I'm slowing down. I'm probably down up 40 or so. And I'm trying to see if they just need help. And I realized how tall it was. And I would then again say it was probably 10, 11 foot tall. I just, I was like slow motion. As I'm looking out the window, I just forgot where I was. I'm just focused on looking to my right hand side out of the past.
Starting point is 00:24:20 As I'm starting to roll up to it, and it just stopped, and it's just staring at me. I think I'm probably about 8 to 10 feet, maybe a little bit more or not much. Like I said, I, it just stared. at me. I couldn't quite see because I couldn't see the top of the head. It was above the, what I could see out across the vehicle out of the semi. And so it was taller than what I could see out of the window of the passenger side. So I didn't get a facial look on it, but I just remember it just kind of
Starting point is 00:25:20 just watched me by, go by in slow motion. I'm just like, I'm not stopping if that's what I think it was. And there again, I was just kind of in disbelief trying to explain to myself and comprehend what I just saw. I drove the way to Anchorage, and I didn't say anything for a few months. And that kind of freaked me out because knowing, be lucky to see one, but two, within that time span. And I'm thinking, that's pretty crazy. First of all, second, I pull over in these spots and sleep. So I'm thinking to myself, oh, my gosh, he saw my truck.
Starting point is 00:26:17 He saw me. I could imagine on the side of the road trying to sleep on him out there because I was in that semi. And it's a big semi trip. And I felt small. And I just kind of envisioned him. wrapping, he could probably wrap his arm around the cab of the truck and just shake the whole
Starting point is 00:26:39 thing and thinking, oh, you saw me. Freaking me out, peeling the side of the truck open or, I don't know, my mind was starting just kind of racing all over by then. But it was,
Starting point is 00:26:58 that one did freak me out because I, that is, Fascinating. You said that's also in the Cooper Landing area? Yeah, it's up by Summit Lake, which is, so they call it the Y. So if you're headed south on, I can't remember that. Seward Highway, if you keep going straight, you go to Seward, and then there's a Y is kind of if you take the Y, which would be to the right, like that. but where I'd seen both of them was in between Summit Lake or right by the lake and the Y, which is I think it's within four to six miles.
Starting point is 00:28:09 I'm actually looking at a map right now, and yes, you are correct. There's the lake. There's the Y. You take that exit off. It goes to Cooper Landing. So I can see the exact area that you. you're talking about between the Y and the lake. That's absolutely fascinating.
Starting point is 00:28:36 And it kind of kept me up for a little bit, and I never stopped back in those areas to sleep anymore after that. It must have been probably in the spring, so it must have been about April. I was in the Cooper in Cooper's Landing. There's a cafe called the Sunrise Eat, whether it was breakfast or dinner. And I was in there and there's a gentleman, two of them actually in there talking about that mentioned homesteaded. I saw a little bit quite. This was back for exactly when. Hi, Diva.
Starting point is 00:29:47 It's Rachel. And Jordan. Yeah, hi. Quick question. Why are you not spending your Venmo balance? Yeah, we're concerned. You can, like, buy stuff with it. Oh, you love buying stuff.
Starting point is 00:29:55 And on cashback on eligible purchases. Mm, you love. purchasing eligible things. Starting point is 00:30:27 over 50 already have the virus that causes shingles. Not everyone at risk will develop it, but I did. The painful, blistering rash disrupted my life for weeks. Don't learn about your shingles risk the hard way. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist today. Sponsored by GSK. It said everything happens for a reason, but maybe everything happens for a rhesus. Take noise-canceling headphones. Do they block hearing to heightened taste? Hmm. That sound seems to to show. Everything happens for a recess. He had mentioned, but he had said his grandfather had seen the family.
Starting point is 00:31:13 He had said, I listened to his story, and then it came down to a pause, and I believe you. Because I was hesitant to even say anything, and I'm just like, oh, my gosh, you can't believe I just said it, because I'm thinking, he goes, and yes, where it was, and I told him, he goes, yeah, it's just about like three miles from there. And so yeah, it was... Do you remember the mile marker? I think it was around 47, 48, 49. There's a friend of mine who, he's a Bigfoot researcher, and I don't know if you're
Starting point is 00:32:19 familiar with Small Town Monsters, but they had a Beyond the Trail series, and he actually was researching at an area on the Kenai Peninsula. And you can watch that as Alaskan coastal Sasquatch on YouTube. But he's actually headed back up this summer to the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, again, to research for an extended period of time. I'm sure he will find this episode extremely helpful because you've been descriptive as to where the area. And it sounds like there could be some stuff there. You've had two sightings in that area. You've had the gentleman in the 60s that had.
Starting point is 00:33:01 that had multiple families that were being seen in that area by where his homestead was. It's just, that's fascinating. Look between mile marker 41 and 48 on the Seward Highway. I guess if you're going north, it'd be on the right-hand side on Summit Lakeside. And how long ago did this happen, Tim? February 10th of 2018, and that was after. So it might have been in, it might have been a month. two. I might have seen that second one because that was one that really just being that much closer
Starting point is 00:33:50 to it and the scene of the size of feeling that small and a truck that big. I finally reached out to somebody thinking back when I had said anything, I didn't know if they ever did or not. So that must have been probably, you could have been in December, January of 2000. And the first one would have been in September, October of 2017 as well. I don't want to overstep, but if you would be able to send any information that you've written down would be extremely helpful in that email. But that Bigfoot Society at gmail.com. Yeah, that would be great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Definitely. That would probably be very helpful to Alex for sure. do they go up there is it often or every year it's not last year they were filming some documentaries up there small town monsters was and then Alex and Eli
Starting point is 00:35:13 they were up there at Ron and they were doing their thing at the area A which is a cabin that's had some bigfoot activity around it but this summer Alex is going to be spending multiple weeks in Alaska again so if he has some
Starting point is 00:35:29 solid leads to follow like maybe this he'll have the time to look at those leads for sure so it's pretty cool that would be pretty neat to get back in there and research it and wintertime I guess it's easier to probably see in the winter time just because
Starting point is 00:35:55 you can see the tracks and stuff like that like I was seeing and I was I seen it a lot over the time going down there and I just often wondered to myself thinking what would make tracks like that. Sure. And I think I know that's true to that now to say exactly just not knowing how deep the snow is.
Starting point is 00:36:19 And really, I often wondered out with the snowmobile or stuff like that, that were in those areas. Because where they do pull over into those, I'd see a few people would park and go. go up there and then driving that every day. You just get to nowhere every little. If anything's out of place, you notice it. Tim, thank you so much for sharing both of those encounters in the Cooper Landing area of Alaska. You've probably been driving other places as well.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Have you ever ran into any other interesting Bigfoot stories along the way or just the main big footing of your career was right here in Alaska? It was right there in Alaska. Down here in Montana, there was somebody that told this story to a very short version. And they were telling me there was somebody that they have, I don't know if there's any truth or not, but that they use portals. And if you do see one, they want you to. see them.
Starting point is 00:37:56 They're supposed to be these things that were made out of rock science. Maybe Bigfoot has made. I don't know enough about the details, but I could send you the link and stuff that I did look at that this person had told me about. And I can forward that to you as well, because I was curious knowing that I'd be talking to you, on talking to that person and just kind of seeing if there was any kind of correlation
Starting point is 00:38:38 of with that first sighting, just vanishing because it just disappeared. But when you're going that fast, too, it's really hard to, you're scanning the lay of the land as fast as you to see all that you can. But it just disappeared. So you're just putting two to two together. And so it's just kind of something in the back of your mind. And final question, Tim, before I let you go, and this has been an amazing conversation. I'm sure you've had some time to think in the years past about what you saw and about Bigfoot.
Starting point is 00:39:26 And you may have looked at things or research, stuff like that. But ever since that time, what do you feel that we're dealing with? When we're talking about Bigfoot up there in Alaska, what is this creature all about? My guess probably is just survival and trying not to be seen. It's really, there's no, I don't know. There isn't enough about it. I can hear about all these sightings, but is there any really good, clear picture that says, oh my gosh
Starting point is 00:40:12 and everybody's probably freaked out thinking oh I just got great footage and you look at it so I could be wrong I don't know but I kind of at the same time it was like as much as it seems like it's seen more and more throughout the world
Starting point is 00:40:30 eventually one day I'm guessing better footage and second I'm like if I didn't slow down has there been anything or anybody come around a corner and boom hit them or something
