I mean, worse than normal, you know, because of their ears.
Starting point is 00:01:39 And all of a sudden, I just heard this. And it started breaking all these trees. You could hear all these limbs snapping. And the next thing you know, a dough in its fawn had swam into the middle of the lake. And it sounded like a gorilla breaking through the trees. I can hear something walking up. And all of a sudden, I can feel in my back the footsteps walking up this creek, here this, and I'm laying there wanting to unzip my tent and look out,
Starting point is 00:02:17 but I was so scared. I could not move. And I'm just laying in thinking, this thing's going to grab my tent and drag it into the forest. All right, Bigfus Society. We've got the pleasure of interviewing to. two gentlemen from the west coast of the United States tonight. We've got Mr. Todd Samples and Doug Shea. They're both Bigfoot researchers from Humboldt County, California.
Starting point is 00:02:41 How's it going, gentlemen? Good. Going really good. Yeah, we're having a great, great time out here in Northern California. Awesome, awesome. I'm so glad that I get to talk to you guys tonight because I've had more than a few people. When something happens in the Bigfoot world, you can imagine that, you know, people start, they throw a little messages my way and they're like, hey, these guys found
Starting point is 00:03:04 something cool, you should try to talk to them. And when that happens more than one time, it's like, okay, I get the point. I need to talk to these guys. So, Todd, I was super excited when we finally set something up. It sounds like you found something really cool out there in Humboldt County. Well, we, I was on April 30th. We took a trip to see how far we could get up to go road, up into this issue force. And we got about 10 miles in, and we couldn't go no further because, you know, there's like, you know, too few of snow. And we come across these two trackways. We thought it was just somebody had pulled up like we did before we got there and walked up and walked up and walked back down.
Starting point is 00:03:49 But when we got up to the tracks, you could see toes. And we're like, oh, wow, these aren't human. And these are Bigfoot. I mean, when you sell the pictures, you can see the toes just so defined. So let's do a little bit of context. So people realize that we're not talking about going to a town where there's a highway right next to a Wendy. So tell us a little bit about like what is, what exactly is the go road and how far out is this thing and how hard is it to get to it? Oh, it's, I mean, this area is desolated.
Starting point is 00:04:34 I mean, there's no one up there. When we go up there, if we see one person, that's rare. We're usually the only ones up there. From our place in Arcata, it takes us at least a couple hours and a half to get to the go road. And it's way up in the mountains. Willow Creek, which is a famous Bigford town, that's still a good hour and a half away. It's way up there. So it's a thing where if we find, if you were to find tracks like this, there's a low, low likelihood that it was just a random dude walking around with a, you know, bare feet.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Oh, yeah. And it's just the area says one thing, but if you look at the tracks, the gate between the tracks, the size of the tracks, there's just no way it could be a human. No way at all. That is wild. Let me take a second here and go ahead and let's bring up some of those pictures so we can kind of see what we are talking about here. And those prints, they were 12 inches long by 6 inches wide, which isn't the hugest prints, but there's, I mean, there are still good size. I mean, they're bigger than our boot prints length and width. Plus, in some of them, you can actually see the mid-tarsal break because the toes were pointed down.
Starting point is 00:06:26 So the heel from the mid part of the footprint back was flat and the and the toes were facing down about an inch. And then in some of you, you can see the drag marks of the toes coming out of the snow, which is pretty cool. All right. Here we go. Yeah. So we are rocking and rolling now, gentlemen. So you can see this, this print is actually one of them, one of the. print, the foot went all the way down to the asphalt.
Starting point is 00:07:01 Oh, wow. But when we jumped on the snow, our feet went down about an inch. This one here, I think, is down about two or three inches, but there's some that actually had a deeper part of the snow, went down four, four inches, five inches of the snow, and we couldn't even make barely an inch deep with our boots. That's jumping. How long? Were you able to measure the tree?
Starting point is 00:07:30 tracks. Or the distance of the trackways or the track itself. The track itself. They're about 12 inches long and 6 inches wide. So it probably wasn't an 8 foot squash, but probably I got about a 6.5 foot, maybe even a female. And how far apart were the tracks from each other in the trackway? Well, that's what was so interesting. And what also impressed me is every single.
Starting point is 00:08:02 footprint, you could tell it was the same creature, but every footprint was slightly variable because of the fact that the snow was at different depths and walking uphill, which we got some video, we'll have to get that over to you also because when we first got there and I saw what we were about ready to encounter because we had another friend with us and he was, look, there's toe prints. I quickly filmed it. But uphill, it was a four to five foot gate and it went up over 100 yards up the hill. And then it came down the hill at a run, which was amazing because some of those were six inches deeper more. And they were close to eight to 10 feet minimum apart.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Really? Yes. Oh, my goodness. And there was no other prints around. It's not like, you know, if it was us or someone else, you would have fell. You wouldn't have a, the whole. Snowbank was completely clear except for the prints, the trackways. Wow.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Let's look at a few other of these here. Were there any things, any other things you noticed about the tracks that would make you think, okay, I'm looking at a big foot rather than a extremely large human. Anything about the track else that you noticed at all? mainly for for me was it was the uh um the mid tariffel break um just the depth and well also the the uh the drag points uh on the toes when in some of them when these uh when they comes out of the snow you see the toes uh dragging out of the because it those those were usually in the deeper prints interesting yeah those were um
Starting point is 00:09:56 Wow, look at that. But just that big toe just stands out so. And you can, well, this one here, you can see the other toes also. They're just, well, we, we definitely believe that these tracks were made that morning. We, we got there about 930, 9, 930 in the morning. Because we left, I think we left like 7 o'clock that morning. And, I mean, these things were fresh. They had to be that morning or that night at the earliest.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Wow. Because there was no other prints, no other marking. I mean, it was just, I mean, it was just unbelievable when we found these. We were just shocked. And I sent you a couple prints on, they look like a handprints or a knuckle prints. Yes. Yes, I believe these ones right here. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Interesting. There were a couple footprints below those, but those handprints or knuckle prints. I mean, I'm not sure which. but those were really neat too. Those were actually on the side of the road at the beginning. There was like a little, I don't know, a side little area. It was just a little patch of road. It was open and there was some prints in there.
Starting point is 00:11:18 And that's where these knuckle prints were at. How big are those knuckle prints? Oh, they just these prints were bigger than my hand. really yeah so if there are knuckle prints they're still bigger than my fingers i think we got another one here too my my my hand is is eight inches long from the tip of my finger to the the end of my palm wow and these hand prints were probably 10 inches yeah the reason why we didn't spend more time in that area because there had been other people in that area so it was more um You know, there were some human footprints, but it was right where a turnoff is.
Starting point is 00:12:02 It's the forest service road up there. But we drove up a hair further, and that's where we found those completely unadulterated prints. And, you know, we'll have to try to send you some video on it, too, because we have one video where Todd's walking. And it takes three to four human steps to do that eight to do that. a 10-foot gate. And then we have another one where I'm filming it downhill and then Todd's up at the top. And then I have one fortunately because we're we're kind of amateurs at this. We're quickly realized.
Starting point is 00:12:39 And I thought of myself, man, we're in a, we're like in a crime scene, but not really one, you know. And so I thought we just put a couple of our own prints here. I better film this right now. So we have one going uphill. And it is the longest that you could stretch out your legs is between. each foot. I mean, the absolute longest, there's no way you could do that without falling over. And then going downhill, they were far much further apart. So we, we have a theory. We're not sure, but we're wondering if it heard us driving up in his truck and it ran down the hill because I did
Starting point is 00:13:14 hear a loud crash when I was up at the top. They were looking at the prints at the bottom of the 100 yard section. And I was at the top and also and I heard a huge loud noise in the woods right to my right. Really? Moving around in the woods. So I thought that was interesting. Man. And I like this one because you actually have a wall for a comparison there.
Starting point is 00:13:42 That's cool. We actually had to tape measure my truck. We just didn't even think about it. We were so excited. We were just taking pictures and just we didn't think about pulling out the tape measure. But my wall is five inches long. So I thought we got the 12 inches by 6. Definitely.
Starting point is 00:14:04 But that big toe just, I mean, that really got me, that big toe. And in almost every picture, that big toe is the same. It's just round and just so defined. How big would you say, I'm just curious, how big would you say that that big toe is? It seems like it's very large. Oh, yeah. It's an inch and a half. a couple inches.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Wow. Probably a couple inches. Oh, we got, oh, look at that. I mean. Yeah. That's, see that, so you, you can see the, the mid-tariffel break there. Oh, yeah. You see where the snow is in the back to the heel.
Starting point is 00:14:46 That's the back part. And then from the mid-to-the-front where it hits the asphalt, that's where the mid-tariffel break is. And the front of the foot went all the way to that, to the asphalt. That is incredible. what a cool way to show it. And you're talking about like right here where this little fine needle is kind of our break point almost.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Yeah, right where the snow ends. Man. And then we got, wow, look at, you can really tell in this one. Look at that big toe. I believe this was the first one off the asphalt when the snow started. That's why it went all the way to the asphalt. The snow was only like three inches deep there. And that was like, I think that was a first.
Starting point is 00:15:30 first one that we saw. Wow. I mean, these are some of, I would say probably the best snow track photos I've ever seen in terms of definition because like usually you don't see a lot with snow tracks because they're just melted beyond belief. Yeah, that's why we think these were so fresh. I mean, it couldn't be more than 12, 12 hours old because the snow was melting. This was April 30th.
Starting point is 00:16:01 There was water running down the road. The snow was melting. And another pretty prominent Bifford guy said that these were probably the best snow prints ever found in Northern California. That's awesome, man. Wow. The best prints in the last 10 years. And another thing along that lines, too, that was encouraging to us because you always think, okay, really how good is this find?
Starting point is 00:16:30 He actually was going to come down from Portland immediately to look at these. And we said, well, it's been raining. So we're afraid it could be, you know, melting. Well, he sent his friend from Happy Camp. Oh, yeah. And he's someone that's been in this research for 40 years. And he actually reported that he verified them. He says, they're real.
Starting point is 00:16:56 And they're the best footprints I have. I've seen in my entire life. Incredible. And so I'm going to ask a maybe super basic big foot question, but I'm sure a few listeners are thinking as well, can you cast a track in the snow? Agents who are realtors do more than open doors. They analyze market trends, interest rates, comps.
Starting point is 00:17:20 They can tell you about flood zones, mixed use zones, and decode acronyms like HOA, APR, MLS. They connect you to lawyers. contractors, even Phil, the Sewerscope guy. They negotiate, coordinate, advocate for you, close the deal with you, and hand the keys to you. They bring you home. Realtors are members of the National Association of Realtors, right by you. It always happens right before the whistle.
Starting point is 00:17:47 There's a little voice that says, what if I mess up? What if I'm not ready? I see a whole highlight reel of everything I don't want to happen. Missed shots, turnovers, letting my team down. And for a second, there's doubt. But then, I realize I've done enough to be where I'm at. The early mornings, the extra reps, the days I wanted to quit and didn't. So, I smile.
Starting point is 00:18:14 Self-doubt is natural, but my smile is a reminder that I'm resilient. To put more smiles out into the world, Colgate has supported female athletes for over 50 years with the Colgate Women's Games. The Colgate Women's Games is the nation's longest running indoor track and field series for girls and women. Colgate, your smile is your strength. They say everything happens for a reason, but I suspect everything happens for a Reese's. Like this commercial break, did you need 15 seconds away from music, or 15 seconds to eat or Reese's? Perhaps it's true.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Everything happens for a Reese's. Well, we were asked if we had cast them and we said, well, we didn't know how to do that. how to cast in the snow because if you pour plaster and it's just going to push it out because plaster is heavier than snow. But I guess there is a material that you can buy, I guess law enforcement, you use it to track or to get cast from tire prints in the snow. Interesting. They said it's not expensive, but you got to buy it online.
Starting point is 00:19:31 So, you know, eventually we'll probably buy some before we go up next, next. winter. And another thing, too, they said that if you make plaster of Paris, almost like oatmeal, super thick, it won't, it won't heat up quite as bad. And then also, you've seen that expandable foam. Mm-hmm. Gave a very good suggestion, which I know in the past I had thought about this method, but I didn't know exactly how to put it into action. But you spray the foam in there, then you put a piece of cardboard over it, and then you put something heavy on it. And so that would work in the snow.
Starting point is 00:20:10 So that's something we're going to do. But it's so funny every time we bring plaster of Paris, we have nothing to happen. Yeah. You know? That's funny. What's so amazing about these prints, especially the downhill, you could just see where they, their toes in every footprint was the same creature. But you would expect if it was a fake, they'd all looked like that, every single one of them, right? Yeah, good point.
Starting point is 00:20:36 And yet everyone had slight variations because of the snow, the depth of the snow, you know, how the snow was shaped. You know, all those various factors came into place. And that's what, because I've always been one of those guys kind of like Les Stroud that, you know, I think there's something out there because of all the experiences I've had in my life. But I want to see it to believe it. And I want to prove it. But this to me kind of set me over that edge because I was like, no one. could have faked these things. It was just,
Starting point is 00:21:09 each print was unique because of just the slight variation of the snow. And so you probably weren't able to follow the trackway into the woods a lot because of the snow, I'm guessing. When we drove up, you know, obviously there was no snow. And then once the snow started, it went for about 120 yards. And then there was more, more the snow had melted.
Starting point is 00:21:35 So it went from asphalt. to snow, the asphalt. So once it got onto the asphalt, we lost the tracks. And we looked, but we couldn't really see anything in the woods, anything, any, any different prints. And another thing, too, when it ran downhill, there was one last print. And we couldn't tell for sure if it went into the woods and it was extremely steep off the edge there. So we were looking for whatever we could find as far as in prints and so forth. But what's interesting, we went up two weeks later, and by that time, we can make it up to a further distance, like three more miles.
Starting point is 00:22:14 And the snow was at least two feet deep there. It was like a foot and a half here, but it was about two feet deep there. And there was another fellow with us. And Todd and him were holding back. And I just started walking up there. And I found very similar tracks that were a few weeks old or at least a week old. Really? And I actually took a couple pictures and it almost looks like the identical print.
Starting point is 00:22:38 And I walked around and, but it was just, you can't verify it because they're just not nearest defined anymore. So I thought that was interesting too. So we think we're in a pretty good hot spot where we're at. And it's on. And you may want a little more history about the Go Road or the. Absolutely. The ones listening. It's in Orleans and it's called I.C. Road.
Starting point is 00:23:00 And this is the famous road that they were going to try. try to build to connect with one in in hauchi, which is near Crescent City. And it's like a little less than three miles before they connected. So this road is, it's not really maintained that well, but it's still paved. But it's, it looks like it used to be probably two lanes, but it's almost down to one lane now. And all they do is each year they just cut out the debris. And it's closed most of the year, too. In fact, we went to a couple areas just this last weekend or on Thursday, and most of the gates to a lot of places are still locked, and they normally open them around the end of May.
Starting point is 00:23:41 So this year, because of snow and other things, I think at least seven months of the year, these gates are locked, and the go roads like your only access up to this place. And very few people go up there. Even during hunting season last year, we went up there with Todd and myself and his wife. And it's hunting season. and we didn't see one person. Wow. Because it's hard to hunt, hunter because of the terrain.
Starting point is 00:24:08 It's just up, up and down. There's just, I mean, the only access is if you go on the roads or if you hike in the, in the creeks, because you can't go,
Starting point is 00:24:19 you know, from the, everything is just so steep. Do you have plans to research the same area again once the snow is gone? Oh, yeah. Well,
Starting point is 00:24:32 we were up there on, Thursday, we're planning on going up there for a full weekend trip. The end of the end of the, actually when I think Tate and all his buddies, his Bluff Creek guys are going to get up there. Oh, that's, I was going to, I was going to work that in. So there might be a little cross research going on there with your group and maybe the Tate's, is that during BC19? that they have the hike going on where they're going to hike up Black Creek?
Starting point is 00:25:03 Yeah. Oh, yeah, Dave invited me. I said, no, that's, I'm not doing that. I'll kill me. Same here.
Starting point is 00:25:11 I like car camping. If I can get through with my truck and then hike from there out a couple miles, that's fine. But not hiking up Bluff Creek. That's going to be a tough hike. I know. It's rapids at the beginning.
Starting point is 00:25:27 But that's, That's literally a whole other episode that listeners can listen to. It's pretty wild. It's going to be fun talking to them when they hopefully get back safe and sound. So that would be fun for them to check out, for you guys to check out that same area during the summertime. That would be very cool. Yeah. So I'm guessing this is not your first rodeo when it comes to Bigfoot stuff, right guys?
Starting point is 00:26:00 No, we've, I moved up here back in October of 2016, met Doug, and we started, you know, we camping and backpacking once. And, you know, we, we did a lot of camping. And then we found out we both had a interest in Bigfoot. I probably had a bigger interest in Bigfoot. And then, you know, every time we went camping, it was, you know, camping with a purpose. Chris and we actually had a we've had a number of experiences together. I mean, he's had a lot more because he's, he's been backpacking up here for years. But just the last four or five years, we've had a number of experiences.
Starting point is 00:26:45 I mean, we try to go out. I mean, we go up in the mountains a lot. And we don't have experience every time we go out. Maybe 30% of the time we go out, we have an experience. But in this area, we've probably had the majority of our experiences in this area. So we're going to start the concentrate in this area. Oh, I would say that would be an extremely smart move. You know, if this area is the hotspot, why would you go anywhere else?
Starting point is 00:27:19 I mean, what kind of other things have you experienced? well in this area back in 2018 me and a different friend we had drove up the uh the girl road and we're doing some uh we're checking out signs for big for big foot and it was getting late so we instead of driving home we found this campsite which was laos camp which at the time we we didn't know about laos camp we just it's a campsite. Later, I realized what Laos camp was and the history and everything. Well, we were, we got there and my friend went down to the creek to swim. I was making the fire and I was sitting there. And all of a sudden, I heard this chatter, this garbling speak or this, this, this language or this just, just weird. The weirdest thing I've ever heard in the force. And I'm sitting there going, thinking, what the heck is this? I waited.
Starting point is 00:28:33 It went off like two or two or three minutes. It sounded like there was at least two individuals there, possibly three. And it was to like my eight o'clock, probably about 50 yards, then about 40 yards away. After a few minutes, I got up and started walking. I got about 20 steps and it stopped. then my friend comes up out of the creek and asks me where's the people out what people he said i heard people talking i said no what wasn't people that was some squashes and he's like really i go yeah there's
Starting point is 00:29:08 no one here dude this is just being you well then about an hour later he's laying on the on the picket bench because he's trying to take a nap because he wanted to stay up late and i'm sitting by the fire and he's still awake he's laying there and all the and it starts up again. The same, like they say, samurai chat or whatever you want to call it. It's just weird garbling language. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:29:36 we listened to it for a few minutes because he was like, do you hear that? I go, yeah, I'm hearing it. And we're listening to it. And I get up and start walking and it cuts out. It just stays stop. And we're like, that is wild. I mean, that was just the most bizarre thing I ever heard in the in the forest and there was nobody we hadn't we had driven around
Starting point is 00:29:58 the whole area for probably six hours a day didn't see a single soul man no one up there at all i got to ask you were there any was there any recorded audio of the okay all right that i mean we were just starting out and we didn't oh yeah nothing at all we had my friend had a camera and I had my cell phone, but, you know, that's cell phones. And this was, you know, five years ago. They don't record audio from a distance that good at all. That was the first big experience I had. Had you heard the Sierra sounds prior to that, or did you hear it afterwards?
Starting point is 00:30:43 You had that experience. Afterwards. Once I heard it, someone said, well, you should listen to the Sierra sounds. I did. I'm like, it wasn't as a, as a. as aggressive because it was, they were like they were just talking to each other. But you could hear the same type of, I don't say language. I mean, that's why I keep saying, but I don't know if it's a language,
Starting point is 00:31:06 but you can hear the same tones, the same, almost like, yeah, like words. I mean, but it was, it was pretty interesting. That must have just blown your mind when you heard that recording from Ron. Yeah. More head out. That would be cool if someday you got to talk to him and you could be like, yeah, it's kind of like this. You know, and you can talk back and forth about it. That would be, it may happen.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Who knows, but conferences are like that. But, man, that is wild. Now do you have, I'm guessing now you have a, you're starting to gather up different, different equipment for your research. Yeah, we have a thermal imager. Okay. Now, I just got a drone from my daughter. She had, her fiancee had a drone that he used one time a couple years ago and it was up in his attic. And he said, yeah, you can have it.
Starting point is 00:32:11 So we just got that this last week and we're getting it, you know, all set up and we're going to go practice with it. So we don't lose it up in the mountains. which I think that is key for us to talk about for a minute because listeners if you're going to go squatching and you have gear take some time to practice with that gear so you don't there are so many stories about like oh I had I had the squatching my sights on the drone and it wasn't recording or something happened and I wasn't ready I wasn't prepared it's worth the time to practice a little bit and make sure you got your barren straight, although in the heat of the moment, things can just get crazy too. Yeah. Doug, I see you down there. Tell us a little bit about from what you've experienced from your side. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:09 You know what Todd's describing like Laoscamp and all these places, they are very remote because I had a friend go, you know, I don't see how there could have been any big foot because it's only six miles off the road and I go, well, have you been up those roads? You know, because I'm an avid backpacker. I've been backpacking since I was 16 years old. I grew up in El Paso, Texas, and I used to hike in New Mexico, northern New Mexico, southern New Mexico, came out to California, continued that. In fact, to this day, I even am an avid hiker.
Starting point is 00:33:39 I've been doing the Pacific Crest Trail in sections each year. But my experiences, I think, go back to during the times of my, when I, you know, had a family and my kids are all grown. And my oldest son actually had an experience at another lake in the Trinity Alps. And he was actually on finding Bigfoot. He actually had a siding. Agents who are realtors do more than open doors. They analyze market trends, interest rates, comps.
Starting point is 00:34:09 They can tell you about flood zones, mixed use zones, and decode acronyms like HOA, APR, MLS. They connect you to lawyers, contractors, even Phil, the Seward scope guy. They negotiate, coordinate, advocate for you, close the deal with you, and hand the keys to you. They bring you home. Real Tours are members of the National Association of Realtors, right by you. It always happens right before the whistle. There's a little voice that says, what if I mess up? What if I'm not ready?
Starting point is 00:34:41 I see a whole highlight reel of everything I don't want to happen. Missed shots, turnovers, letting my team down. And for a second, there's dead. But then, I realize I've done enough to be where I'm at. The early mornings, the extra reps, the days I wanted to quit and didn't. So, I smile. Self-doubt is natural, but my smile is a reminder that I'm resilient. To put more smiles out into the world,
Starting point is 00:35:11 Colgate has supported female athletes for over 50 years with the Colgate Women's Games. The Colgate Women's Games is the nation's longest-running indoor track and field series for girls and women. Colgate, your smile is your strength. It's said everything happens for a reason, but maybe everything happens for a reases. Take noise-canceling headphones. Do they block hearing to heighten taste? Hmm. That sound seems to show.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Everything happens for a reeses. I've never had a sighting, but we've always heard weird things in the woods, you know, like people talking, the tree knocks and things like that. But I think where I started really beginning to think, because I had a friend, he lives in Klamma Falls. He's moved there since then. But we took his dog Amos up to a remote place in the Siscue wilderness called Bear Lakes. And this was in 2014.
Starting point is 00:36:15 And we took his dog Amos. And I got ahead of him. He goes, oh, just hike at your own pace. It was really hot that day. So I made it down to the lake, waded and waited and waited. And I was in this incidentally, we had gone to the Bigfoot Museum in Willow Creek because my friend was an habit footer. He loved it. And I got the David Politis book about the hoopah project.
Starting point is 00:36:39 So I was just reading that in my spare time. I had some binoculars. Well, the next morning, his dog never showed up still. He finally made it. And he goes, where's, have you seen my dog? And I go, no, it's not here. So I went looking first the evening before. And then in the morning, he still hadn't come.
Starting point is 00:36:54 So he wanted to go look for his dog. This was at Bear Lakes in 2014. And so he takes off, and I'm just sitting there and I'm reading this book, relaxing, and I just notice there's a bunch of deer grazing across the lake. And this lake is inaccessible when it comes to like fishing because, you know, many times fishermen will almost have a trail around a lake. It's pretty common. Even in the wilderness areas, you'll see that. but this place was so overgrown, so lush. There was nothing like that.
Starting point is 00:37:28 So I started noticing these deer acting really weird, like they kept looking over their shoulders. I mean, worse than normal, you know, because of their ears. And all of a sudden, I just heard this and it started breaking all these trees. You could hear all these limbs snapping. And the next thing you know, a dough and its fawn had swam into the middle of the lake. And it sounded like a gorilla breaking through the trees. Because I've been in the wood so much, I know what a black bear is.
Starting point is 00:38:01 I know what they sound like. I've seen 50 plus black bear because we have probably one of the densest populations of black bear in the North America up here. I mean, they're, they're all, I've seen 50 plus. I've even seen a grizzly, but that's another story, even though there's supposedly no grizzlies in California. Wow. And I know the difference because I've seen so many bear. But getting back to this, I was just like, oh, my God. And I was like, what do I do?
Starting point is 00:38:28 Because that was freaky, you know, and to see a deer flee from this. And so I decided to walk over there and see if I could kind of get a better look. And I got a little scared. So I just had a couple apples. And I, you know, put them in strategic locations. And about a half an hour later, Bob returned and goes, I couldn't find my dog. I don't know where he is. And I go, well, did you see?
Starting point is 00:38:51 fur. And he goes, no. I said, he might have just gone back to the truck, you know, because he's an older dog. He might have got and said, forget this. And fortunately, that's what happened. When we got back, he was there. So that was good. So I said, I told him the experience. And so we went walking around and one of the apples was gone. Completely gone. Nothing. No evidence of anything. And so he goes, man, if that was a bear, it would have taken both of them. You know, but only took one. So we went down. There's a lower lake and it's almost inaccessible.
Starting point is 00:39:25 You have to go down this really steep. We found some prints. Of course, we didn't have anything, you know, but you could just see something had walked really good-sized prints too. I mean, and they did have the shape similar to that, what you see in the picture there. And so we were just like, wow, that was an experience. And so I had told Todd about this and he could probably take off from here
Starting point is 00:39:50 because we ended up revisiting that lake a few years later, and we had some more wild experiences there. And this was after another forest fire had ravaged the area. Yeah, well, first, that's incredible. And I can't imagine being in that situation where you hear that, like, that, that yell. And then the gorilla type, man, I don't know if I'd be around. I think I'd be out of there, Doug. Like, well, normally I would, but I was just so fascinating because it's, it's my,
Starting point is 00:40:22 scientific side coming across. And I've just been kind of that way because I think for the most part, I feel safe around them, but I know the more I've learned that maybe that's not always a good idea because, you know, there's been some violent experiences over the, you know, the centuries too, you know, that people have reported. But yeah, that was, I've never heard anything like it. It was, it was just, I was like, man, these things just might be real. I mean, because that was no bear.
Starting point is 00:40:53 And just to hear limbs breaking, you know, I mean, if one of us did that or even a bear, I mean, I've just never heard anything like it because it just echoed throughout that whole cirque there, you know, and it was just, and just to hear it make that sound and just all these, it's like it was stealthy waiting to attack. And it probably did get one of those deer because there was about six or seven of them there. But I saw at least two of them. of them make it into the water. And that's what made me realize there was something really crazy going on there.
Starting point is 00:41:27 So I ended up telling Todd about it because we've had some other experiences and other locations over the years. And then we revisited that lake. Was it 2019, I believe? Yeah. And he can share what he had. But these types of experiences made me think, hmm, there's something out here because I've had too many of these. experiences in my 40-plus years of backpacking.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Oh, absolutely. Yeah, Todd, go ahead and jump on in, man. Well, so like Doug said in 2019, four of us, me, Doug, a friend named Blaine and a friend named Caesar. Caesar was the one that I heard of chatter with me at Laos Camp. So us four backpack in. And this place is 15 miles off the road and then another four miles hiking in. So it's way up past Happy Camp or to the west of Happy Camp.
Starting point is 00:42:32 So we hike in. We get there. There's a couple, a young couple at the main, I want to say a campsite. It's just where if you go there, that's where you would camp because it's a cleared area. they left the next day, but they said there's a campsite over in the trees. And they said there's kind of dirty. We went over there. And it was a campsite that looks like, I mean, there's, it looks like someone just grabbed
Starting point is 00:43:01 the backpacks and left. And they left everything there. They left tarps, clothes, pans, food, canned goods. I mean, just everything. It's like they just grabbed their backpacks and fled. Well, later, we, we. we figure why, why they fled. So we, we, we cleaned it all up.
Starting point is 00:43:20 There was a big old tarp, so we put all the trash, all the stuff in the tarp. We tied all up and put it on the side. So we, uh, sub camp. And that first night, well, we were tied from hiking in. So we, well, I was out. And we were out to the first night. Didn't hear anything. The next night, we were up.
Starting point is 00:43:39 We heard a knock, a loud knock from across the lake. So we're right on this, on the edge of this lake. behind us are these granite cliffs. The lake is kind of like in a horseshoe type. So it's very kind of concealed. So the second night, we hear this knock. And about 30 minutes later, we hear a knock behind us. So like, okay, so something's happening.
Starting point is 00:44:11 And then we hear, it sound like, cans or pans going clank, clank, clank. And we're like, what the heck was that? And we assumed it was, you know, they had picked up some of the cans that were left behind or the pots and pans or something. And I went to bed. I was a pretty heavy sleep. I'm a heavy sleeper, so I was out. The Caesar and Blaine had a few little instances.
Starting point is 00:44:39 They heard noise or something coming in. then the next night Caesar had left already, right? Yeah, Caesar had left. He had to get back to a job or something. And then me and Blaine, Doug walked Caesar out about halfway. Me and Blaine were at the other camp site waiting for Doug.
Starting point is 00:45:01 And we hear this noise up on the other ridge behind the lake. And Blaine, you know, he starts making, you know, he starts going banana. You know, we're loud. and echoes, you're just being a jokester, and we hear a knock. Really? And we're like, wow. So he does it again.
Starting point is 00:45:22 He says, banana, really loud. And it echoes. And we hear what it sounds like, almost like a, almost like a car door, like a big car. It was just like, boom. And we're looking at each other. And I make a couple of whoops, you know, and we're hearing this, this feedback. back and forth for like 10 minutes. And then all of a sudden we hear this huge crash,
Starting point is 00:45:48 you know, like it pushed over a tree or something and just bam. And we're like just amazed. And Doug shows up. Then we go back to our camp. And now this next night, actually, this is the last night we're there, right? Yeah, this is the last night we're there. The third night, I guess we're there or the second night. Well, we're hanging out.
Starting point is 00:46:14 You know, we have our food and we don't only hear, hear anything. So I go ahead and I go to bed and about 1.30 the morning, I wake up and I hear Doug and Blaine, they're like in a panic mode. They're putting all this wood on the fire. They're like, let's get this fire going to keep them away. And I like, hey, what's going on? I'm like, oh, you're awake. We've been trying to wait here for two hours.
Starting point is 00:46:38 There's all the, you know, they're hearing all this noise and stuff coming in. And so I get up and I use a restroom and we're sitting there and, you know, they're getting this fire, this blazing fire, just going to keep these, whatever they're hearing away. But once we get the fire going, you know, we don't hear anything. So we're up for about an hour. So we figure, well, let's all go back to bed. So we, I get my tent, Doug and Blaine. They, they go to sleep right, right away. And I hear them snoring.
Starting point is 00:47:11 And I'm laying there on my back. and I can see the fire through, see my tent is getting lower and it's dimming and it starts going out. And then all of a sudden, I start hearing the brush moving. You hear the snaps. And I'm laying there. And all of a sudden I can hear something walking up. Next to my tent I had this dry creek bed. And all of a sudden I can feel in my back.
Starting point is 00:47:42 the footsteps walking up this creek here, this do, and I'm like, oh my gosh, this thing is it gets, it's right outside my tent, probably like 10 feet outside my tent. And I'm laying there wanting to unzip my tent and look out, but I was so scared. I could not move. And I'm just laying in thinking, this thing's going to grab my tent and drag it into the forest. And I'm going to be, you know, dead. And all of a sudden, a piece of log falls into the fire and it ignites the fire back up. And this thing takes off our camp and you hear boom, boom, boom, boom.
Starting point is 00:48:28 And it was just, I couldn't believe this thing was, and it wasn't a bearer because you can tell the difference between a bipedal animal and a quadrupede. This thing was just do, do, do, do. But feeling it in my back when I'm laying, there in my sitting bag on the ground feeling the, I guess you call them impact trimmers. You can feel them just a boom, boom, boom, whereas it's walking up, you know, closer and closer to my tent. And that was, and actually that night we heard the clanging noise again, too. We heard the metal clinging.
Starting point is 00:49:05 And that was, I mean, I figure these people that were there before had the same kind of experience and it freaked them out. And they just grabbed their backpack and took off because they left everything behind. I mean, everything. Food, clothes, tarps. Oh, really? Hands, food. They just, it's like, oh, man.
Starting point is 00:49:28 They just, or they got grabbed by, uh, by the big, the big foot that was there. And they were drug off into the woods, but they just left everything behind. and that was and after that we figured well that's why they they abandoned their campsite because the uh i'm sure they probably had the same same type of experience oh absolutely i mean just imagine if that log had not fallen into your guys's fire oh yeah we might not be talking here today that's true you know i might be doing a in memory of these two dudes episodes but i'm glad you guys are here. My goodness.
Starting point is 00:50:10 What? That was, I was so scared. I mean, I don't think I've ever been that scared before my life. It was unbelievable. It sounds like definitely, so you definitely heard bipedal footsteps.
Starting point is 00:50:26 You would say. And I felt them in my back laying on the ground. Because this thing was close. I mean, it was, well, outside my tent. It had be,
Starting point is 00:50:36 you know, within 10 feet at the most. Agents who are Realtors do more than open doors. They analyze market trends, interest rates, comps. Self-doubt is natural, but my smile is a reminder that I'm resilient. To put more smiles out into the world, Colgate has supported female athletes for over 50 years with the Colgate Women's Games.

It's said everything happens for a reason, but maybe everything happens for a recess. Take noise-canceling headphones. Do they block hearing to heightened taste? Hmm. That sound seems to show. Everything happens for a recess.
Starting point is 00:52:25 But it was so dark, there was no moon. There was no, it was just the, well, the fire had gone down to basically nothing. We got to get you guys some audio recorders, man. Yeah, that's the only thing I, we don't have, we don't have no, any audio recording. Oh, dude. Oh, man, yeah. But it was, but when it ran away, That was even, because you could tell it was a bipedal creature.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Just boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. And it just faded away. I always think it's interesting when people bring up the sound of a card door being slammed in the wilderness, which doesn't make sense. And how have you guys come to grips with hearing that in a place where it should not be heard? Well, when I was at Laos camp and Caesar was down, he had heard a car door strike because he asked me if I had gotten into my Jeep. And I said, no. And I didn't think anything of it. But then I heard on a on a podcast, the same thing happening.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I thought, well, that's what it was. He heard one of these creatures making a noise that sounded like a car. door shutting. A big old 70s, you know, Lincoln, you know, car, a big old, you know, 80-pound car door shutting. Just, I don't know if that's something they're hitting their chest or it's,
Starting point is 00:54:05 you know. Right. You know, I think about it. And I was like, do they have the same ability that a mockingbird has where they, you know, or like a some, Some bird, and Bigfoot is not a bird, but some birds have the ability to mimic different. You know, we were walking by my neighbors the other day and we heard a bird up in the tree do the sound of a, you know, heavy machinery tool buzzsaw. And I had to explain to my son.
Starting point is 00:54:35 It was like, yeah, some birds can, you know, sound, make the sounds they hear in their neighborhood. And maybe it's the same thing with Bigfoot. We don't know. There's no right or wrong answers yet, you know. But it's so wild, dude. Yeah. Well, they're smart. They're very smart.
Starting point is 00:54:53 They're smarter than we are out there in the forest. That's for sure. Yeah. And it's funny, too, because I did hear someone that had a sighting, and he said the thing cupped its hands like this and hit them together. And it made that car door sound. Really? Yeah. So the person actually saw the.
Starting point is 00:55:19 Bigfoot do. Mm-hmm. And it made the car door sound, really. Yeah, it was in a podcast. I heard from a different group. Nice. It was in Colorado. And I go, oh, that's it because, you know, you hear this sound.
Starting point is 00:55:34 But he said this thing was just really close to him. And it, it cupped its hands and smacked them together. And it made that car door sound. So that may be an explanation. And see, we're starting to figure out some things, too, because we had heard another podcast of where some people had pulled up to a spring. And it was a spring that apparently some Bigfoot visited and they were harassed because they were by that spring. They had camped there.
Starting point is 00:56:04 And it's funny because last summer, Todd and another friend of ours camp near a spring and they had activity. And it's in that same area in the Siski Wilderness at another camp. It's known as Cedar Camp. So there's a lot of hot spots up there. In fact, last fall, we even got to, we found a logging road that had a lot of trees. We cut them out, which is interesting. It seems like the Forest Service put another tree on that road to keep people out of there because we just checked that out on Thursday. And we're, oh, wow, they put a tree here.
Starting point is 00:56:40 I guess they didn't like us going down that road. Oh, man. But anyway, it takes you to a quarry. and it's just close to the headwaters of Bluff Creek, undisclosed location that we're not revealing at this time, but we're really close just a couple miles probably from the film site, from a different direction. But we were just eating lunch at this quarry,
Starting point is 00:57:06 and it's just a little, a few, probably quarter of a mile from Bluff Creek or a little bit higher up. And his wife started walking around, walking on the edge. of this quarry, you know, and there's like a steep embankment that goes to a thick grove of trees. And so she's walking around. She goes, Todd, let's go. And me and him are finishing up eating some food. So she's starting to walk. And we go, we better not let her get too far ahead of us.
Starting point is 00:57:33 We don't want her walking alone, you know. Good idea. So we walk out to look at where she was at. And I was just a little ahead of Todd. And I go, wow, this is really cool. Oh, my God. And what I saw just blew me away. It was like, there's only two.
Starting point is 00:57:47 things that could have been a human and there were no humans because we saw no human the whole time or something of this nature because something had been holding up a fur bow and when it saw me come to the edge it dropped it a live tree you know how you you know when someone's like peaking and looking at something like that that's exactly what happened there was no wind no animals there at the time they had it held up and they dropped it and that just freaked me out and that seems like a little thing, but to me, that was like one of the trippiest things out of all my experiences I've seen, because it was like someone had been watching her. And then we came to the edge, and it saw us two males, and it just quickly dropped the branch. Man, that's wild. That would
Starting point is 00:58:37 make me, oh, man, chills down my spine because I was like, oh, man, something was watching, you know, because just, it's. just like some stranger in the woods, you know, like lifting up a bow trying to get a better look, you know? It was weird. I am convinced for some reason
Starting point is 00:58:59 or not, you guys, you're going to have one of these days, it's going to be face to face. I just know it. I mean, it seems like you've already been in so many different situations where you've been just seconds away.
Starting point is 00:59:14 I mean, it's it's coming i just got a feeling it's coming guys so get an audio recorder if you can oh man that's wild um there's one photo we haven't gone over yet and i want to make sure we do because i'm really curious about it what tell me the story about this guy here well that last january we were in the same area we went to the go but but we only got to about six miles up So we went down this old logging road that we found. We drove up about a mile and a half, two miles, maybe, well, probably about a mile and a half. We couldn't go no farther because of snow.
Starting point is 00:59:56 We were in Doug's trucks. We got out, hiked in. We got to a certain point where there was about a 20-foot cliff when it went up to the side of the road. And there was a little flat spot up there. And Doug had mentioned this would be a great spot for a predator to hang out. So we keep hiking. We hike another probably half mile or mile in. And then the way out, we're hiking out.
Starting point is 01:00:22 And we get to that spot. And I kind of like slip on some ice. I look up. And in between two bushes, I see brown fur going from one bush to the other. It was just a split second. So I couldn't tell what exactly it was. But gravel came down. the cliff.
Starting point is 01:00:46 So there was something up there obviously because I saw something. The gravel came down. And then there was a tree, probably eight, eight inches in diameter of the trunk. This thing started to shake. And the snow fell off it. It was shaking pretty, I mean, pretty violently. And then we heard about three or four steps walk away. Well, then, and then else we heard a couple of knocks further down.
Starting point is 01:01:15 Then when we found the footprints in April, we drove back down that road, drove farther down this other road. And that's where we found this nest, which was on the back side of that little ridge where I saw that animal in between the two bushes. it was probably about a couple hundred yards away away from where we had the other experience back in January. And you can see, see me there standing. This, the trees that fell, probably fell naturally, but something had dug, had broken off all these branches and made this little cave inside these trees that had fallen down. And they were broken off. They weren't sawed off. They were snapped off.
Starting point is 01:02:06 And I'm standing on the edge, but you could, I got in there and I lay down. And there's, I mean, you, you can see how all the leaves were matted down and nice and soft. And, I mean, you, you could get back in there six or seven feet. It was a pretty large area underneath there or easily, uh, yeah, there was also some impressions that we found. We found a couple of prints close by. Oh, you found actual prints near this area.
Starting point is 01:02:41 Yeah, they were on a downslope going there. They weren't really castable, but you could see the one, and the other one was like a slip. It wasn't, well, I don't say it was really super fresh. I wasn't sure, but you could tell something had broken off the branches and made a little cave. But basically. That is so interesting.
Starting point is 01:03:06 It probably wasn't a long-term nest, but it was probably something that something had hung out for probably, you know, a few weeks or something. And that nest isn't that far from where we found the prince at. They were only maybe two miles a straight shot. Have you guys ever found any hair as you've been going around anything like that? We found SCAT. Really? We were up in the training Alps one time. This was probably 2019, I think, the same time, same year.
Starting point is 01:03:52 And we were camping in a different spot, but we drove back and hiked into an area. We had a friend with us who had a, he had a rifle and a pistol. And we were hiking around. We found them. We were hiking back out. And we got through a little clearing where we decided to stop and get some water and some snacks. And we heard three knocks within. I mean, they were probably 30 feet away from each other and a couple seconds apart.
Starting point is 01:04:21 I mean, it was like, knock, knock, knock. And we were like, oh, this is interesting. So Caesar, our friend went up to this area, was looking down behind this wall of bushes with, there was a wall of bushes, but then it had like an eight foot opening, like a door almost. Doug went, walked in there. I stayed out just to watch. He walked into this, this little opening, and he had seen all these impressions. And then Caesar walks out and he's at the top and he says, hey, does someone walk in?
Starting point is 01:05:00 We said, yeah, Doug walked in. He said, okay. So he thought he saw Doug. Well, we were at the camp fire that night. We had realized it wasn't Doug that he saw because Doug was only, he was right inside the tree line. He wasn't 30 yards in. So the next day we figured, well, let's go back there and will we recreate it?
Starting point is 01:05:23 Yep. So we get there. Doug goes where he was at. Caesar goes where he was at. And I go where Caesar sees this black figure walk by. he only sees like my shoulders on my head. He saw the waist up of this thing. It was in this little ravine.
Starting point is 01:05:43 And we're, so we figure, okay, he says he, you know, he probably saw a squads. We had those three knocks. And then when we actually went that same day. When we pulled up to the area, he said, watch, when we pull up and we walk to that ridge, we'll hear a knock. And I said, no, we're not going to hear a knock. And as soon as he walked to that.
Starting point is 01:06:03 ridge, we heard a knock. Oh, man. We were hearing knocks all day. We probably heard 15 to 20 knocks that day. So we're in this area. There's all kinds of impressions. Just all kinds of, but you couldn't really, there's a lot of leaf material and branches. So we hike up over this little ridge and we come into this huge bowl area, like a, you know,
Starting point is 01:06:28 five acre area, just a huge bowl. And I'm thinking, this is a great spot because from the ridge, you can see all areas. So we're hiking in. You see all kinds of impressions, tree breaks. And we get to the spot, it was about a 30 foot by 30 foot area where it had just piles and piles of scats on top of each other. Really? I mean, just huge amounts. And we're like, well, this is crazy.
Starting point is 01:07:00 And we're hearing, you know, tree knocks all around, you know, every. As you're looking at the scat? Yes. Every couple of a couple minutes. We're hearing, we hear like, we heard like 15 or 20 that day. And well, this, that's not the best of it. Uh-oh. All right.
Starting point is 01:07:17 Behind this scat, there's these logs piled up. Caesar is looking down there, looking at there. You can't we see because it's bushes. And then we all look around here. We go different areas. And we come back to the scatars. that area and we're standing there. And all of a sudden,
Starting point is 01:07:35 we hear this, I mean, it wasn't a knock. It was a, something took a huge log and just crashed. It was a, we, we, we, we could feel it in our bodies. I mean,
Starting point is 01:07:47 this was probably 30 yards away, just this crack. And we thought, okay, we need to leave. I think we got too close to their, their nest or their, wherever they're, you know, their base camp or whatever you won't call it.
Starting point is 01:08:04 Oh, yeah. The day before, we had four around us. We had three in front of us and then the one that seizure saw. Agents who are realtors do more than open doors. I've done enough to be where I'm at. The early mornings, the extra reps, the days I wanted to quit and didn't.
Starting point is 01:09:08 So I smile. Self-doubt is natural, but my smile is a reminder that I'm resilient. To put more smiles out into the world, Colgate has supported female athletes for over 50 years with the Colgate Women's Games. The Colgate Women's Games is the nation's longest running indoor track and field series for girls and women. Colgate, your smile is your strength. They say everything happens for a reason, but I suspect everything happens for a recesses. Like this commercial break. Did you need 15 seconds away from music or 15 seconds to eat arreases?
Starting point is 01:09:51 Perhaps it's true. Everything happens for a reases. And then we saw that bathroom, I mean, basically a bigfoot bathroom. Yeah. Because, I mean, this stuff was huge. It wasn't bear because bear don't poop in the same spot. They just poop wherever they got to go poop. but this was like on top of where we think they were living at.
Starting point is 01:10:15 And this was like Thanksgiving weekend. So it was, there was no snow yet, but it was, you know, chilly at night. It was cold at night. And,
Starting point is 01:10:23 you know, in the 50s during the day because it was sunny. But it was just, yeah, once we heard that crash, we started walking out. And as we walked out, we could hear noises in the brush and knocks as we,
Starting point is 01:10:39 as we walked out. Like they were escorting us out. And that was, that one in Bear Lakes was probably the two wildest experiences that we've had together. That's a wild, and that's another wild story.
Starting point is 01:10:58 But I have some questions. We're going to get real for a little bit. I have some questions about the SCAC guys. So, because, I just had an interview to do with something similar to this. So can you describe how this scat looked? Yeah, I would say it looked like there was definitely,
Starting point is 01:11:27 because I know bear, you can see when they have eaten grass versus when they've had game. Because I've been up in some areas where I've found a lot of bear dens and so forth because the guy that was with us, the hunter, he's a total skeptic. and he had to admit he heard the tree knocks that first day. He left the next day and then we had this bigger experience. He had to admit he heard the tree knocks, but he was trying to say, oh, maybe it's just moisture in the trees and making that noise.
Starting point is 01:11:56 And I go, those knocks, hunting it. So he had to admit it. So I've been hiking with him in some very remote areas of the Trinity Alps. But the scat, it has kind of a human appearance, but much bigger. I mean, it's not like bear. It's more defined. And this had some grass in it and some other hair and things of that nature. But it just, it almost looked like oversized.
Starting point is 01:12:31 Well, I've tried to look at ape scat online because it's like, so, you know, it's funny because you have orangutangs and a gorilla's. But it had that similar look. but it was just a pile of it. And I find it hard to believe that a bear would just keep going back to the exact same spot. I've never really seen that. I mean, I know they do that to some extent, but not such a large area. This was like a big area that looked like it had been used for, you know, a year or something. So it was like a massive, like, is this a massive amount of scat?
Starting point is 01:13:10 Yes. really yeah yeah it was big and yet when we went later when it starts snowing went back to that place in the spring it was all gone and then we've and we've had no we've had no experiences there since it's almost like they moved on wow that is just absolutely wild yeah it's like we got too too close to them and after that they just bailed absolutely yeah Absolutely. They didn't want, you know, they said, well, they found us here. Let's move on.
Starting point is 01:13:58 Yeah, that was another unique situation. Man. Guys, you got to come up with a name for, it's obviously you got an awesome group going on. You definitely got to have a name that you come up with someday. There's only three of us right now. so. Majority can rule then, so there you go. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:14:31 Some wild, wild stories. And I will love to hear what comes from you guys hanging out with Tate and all the guys. That's just, that's going to be wild. Has anything, have you ever been out in the woods and something weird has happened, but it's maybe not. you're like, yeah, that's not Bigfoot, but I don't really know what's going on here. Anything weird like that? I was actually with my friend, that's the hunter. We were hiking in a foot and a half of snow.
Starting point is 01:15:09 We were going to go up to the lookout that's in its old iron sides. It's on the way past Willow Creek towards Weaverville on 299. And you can take some of those back logging roads there. It's kind of near Del Loma. we went hiking because we couldn't make it to the lookout way too much snow. So we just parked the truck and we start hiking. And as we were walking back, we got a low, just this low frequency that just went and it just went right through us.
Starting point is 01:15:42 And, you know, I've heard that predators can do that low, you know, sound. And he even, he even noticed, he goes, wow, what was that? That was weird. I go, yeah, that was like a low frequency. I go, I heard predators do that. And he's always trying to, because he's had some experiences, but he never wants to admit that it's anything, you know, because he wants her to scream that sound. He called it like a teraductal.
Starting point is 01:16:06 It was just this. Oh, that has to be a bear. So even in this case, he said, oh, maybe bucks do that because he's an avid hunter. So I said, okay. And so he got way ahead of me on that, on that particular height, because I brought the wrong shoes. I brought my shoes that I used for backpacking, you know, trail runners, and I should have been wearing
Starting point is 01:16:29 boots that day because we were hiking a foot and a half of snow and my feet were soaking wet, so I was slowing down a little bit. And all of a sudden I heard what I thought were kids having a snowball fight by his truck. Agents who are realtors do more than open doors. They analyze market

Starting point is 01:17:19 I see a whole highlight reel of everything I don't want to happen. Missed shots, turnovers, letting my team down. And for a second, there's doubt. But then, I realize I've done enough to be where I'm at. The early mornings, the extra reps, the days I wanted to quit and didn't. So, I smile. Self-doubt is natural, but my smile is a reminder that I'm resilient. To put more smiles out into the world,
Starting point is 01:17:50 Colgate has supported female athletes for over 50 years with the Colgate Women's Games. The Colgate Women's Games is the nation's longest running indoor track and field series for girls and women. Colgate, your smile is your strength. It's said everything happens for a reason, but maybe everything happens for a Reese's. Take noise-canceling headphones. Do they block hearing to heighten taste? Hmm. That sound seems to show.
Starting point is 01:18:24 Everything happens for a recess. And I go, that's weird. I heard this like kids playing, ha, yeah, but couldn't make out anything. And then I look around the corner and I realize we're still a ridge away from his truck. Oh, man. And I heard it down in the hill. I never told him about it because I just, you know, I knew he would just make fun of me. But I just thought that was kind of bizarre.
Starting point is 01:18:49 So that was kind of an interesting experience. And I have heard chatter like Todd brought out. And I was getting ready to turn on my phone, but someone called out my name and it stopped. And I was back at this other place we called Dry Camp. And then one time there was a major bit of dry lightning that started a bunch of fires. I think it was back in like 2016 or so. We heard my ex-wife and some of us, you know, my kids that were there and my daughter who was married and her husband. We all heard what sounded like people talking like they were way down the truck.
Starting point is 01:19:26 Oh, isn't that weird? But we couldn't make out what it was going. I go, why are these people hiking around at 11 o'clock? at night, you know. And there's this dry lightning starting to happen. And later we came to the conclusion that we think it was probably squashes on the move. And we just thought it was people. And so we've just had a lot of experiences like that over the years, you know, and it just took me a while to kind of put it all together, you know, because, I mean, when I was a kid, I loved the Patterson Gimlin film. You know, I lived in El Paso, but I didn't even realize until much later
Starting point is 01:20:01 that I was living when I moved up here years later, little did I realize I was this close to this whole area, you know? So I would always think about these things, but I just, I'm, I just love nature. So I always go with the purpose. It's kind of funny because my one friend always wants to take me, but he wants the purpose of hunting. And then I go of Todd and his purpose is to look for Bigfoot. So that's probably why I get away from them all sometimes in hike the Pacific Crest Trail of another friend because I just love I love nature. I just love hiking. I've been to almost every lake in the Alps, marble mountains, and now I'm focusing on the Siskus more, which it's, it's, if there's a place it would be, it's there because it's so remote. So you mentioned the marble mountains. Have you been to the area
Starting point is 01:20:51 where that famous video is then? Yes, I have. I wasn't quite there. I've been to the sky high lakes and I've hiked a bunch of those other loops, but I was the one day planning on making it to Paradise Lake and, you know, King's Castle. And but my friend who likes to control the hiking routine, he got us going a different direction. So I have plans to get back over there. But I know the area I could see it where I was at, you know, because we're high on the ridge by Marble Mountain.
Starting point is 01:21:24 And you could see where King's Castle was. It was just like five miles away. But I'm planning on getting there too. And then like I mentioned before, my oldest son actually had an eyewitness experience at two in the morning. He was on Finding Bigfoot actually because of it in the Trinity Alps. And that was an interesting experience he had because he actually saw it walk into the camp, smelt it. It was full moon. It tried to unzip his pack.
Starting point is 01:21:55 And really. Yeah. And then he yelled at it and it dropped the pack on the tent, woke up his wife at the time. And one of the frenzies with had spotted something earlier before dusk and was scared. And so he ended up getting on that feature on a finding big foot animal planet called him up. So kind of runs. I guess we all kind of in our family seem to have this tendency to have these things. And I'm not purposely looking for it.
Starting point is 01:22:26 Maybe that's why I've had so many experiences. I think if I start actively trying to find it, then it's going to stop, you know? It just seems like you guys have an interesting luck to you where it definitely seems to intersect your paths. A question for each of you that usually comes up. So, you know, thinking of the Bigfoot, Sasquatch, the creature, what do you think it is, exactly that we're dealing with here. Well, I believe it's an animal. It's a great ape or it's some kind of primate species that lives here in North America.
Starting point is 01:23:11 It lives in probably South America. I mean, there's different sizes. You know, you got the small ones in Indonesia. You got the Almasi's in Russia. They're just different size, upright walking by. petal primates, flesh and blood. And I'll be like a bear or Mount Lanya. It's just, you know, it's another animal that lives here on earth.
Starting point is 01:23:41 Absolutely. And Doug? I feel much the same way. I really shy away from the UFO stuff and all that bizarre stuff. I thought at times maybe it could be a spirit. Agents who are realtors do more than open doors. They analyze market trends, interest rates, comps. They can tell you about flood zones, mixed use zones,
Starting point is 01:24:06 and decode acronyms like HOA, APR, MLS. They connect you to lawyers, contractors, even Phil, the Sewer Scope guy. They negotiate, coordinate, advocate for you, close the deal with you, and hand the keys to you. They bring you home. Real Tours are members of the National Association of Realtors, right by you. It always happens right before the whistle.
Starting point is 01:24:30 There's a little voice that says, what if I mess up? What if I'm not ready? I see a whole highlight reel of everything I don't want to happen. Missed shots, turnovers, letting my team down. And for a second, there's doubt. But then, I realize I've done enough to be where I'm at. The early mornings, the extra reps, the days I wanted to quit and didn't.
Starting point is 01:24:54 So, I smile. They say everything happens for a reason, but I suspect, Everything happens for a Reese's.
Starting point is 01:25:33 Like this commercial break, did you need 15 seconds away from music? Or 15 seconds to eat or Reese's. Perhaps it's true. Everything happens for a Reese's. But personally, I think it's a bipedal creature that's probably similar to the orangutang or gorilla family. Because, you know, they've discovered those billy apes in Africa that are human-sized, you know, they call them human-sized lion killers. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:59 And so I'm of the feeling that it's just an undiscovered primate that, you know, maybe is a survivor of giant Pythicus. Who knows? That's my lindling, especially after seeing these footprints. I was like, you know, spirits don't make literal footprints like deer and fox and coyote and cougar and bear in the snow. At least I've never seen that happen. Yeah. And the cool thing about this show is there's no right around answers because we don't have one captured yet or, you know, equivalent. But I do have to say I agree with you guys personally, especially after talking, you know, the stories I've talked to people about that come out of Oklahoma as well.
Starting point is 01:26:49 I mean, it just, to me, it just adds up that we're looking at a, it's some type of undiscovered great ape of, North America. So I totally, I'm on the same path that you guys are, I think. But, uh, wow, it has been an amazing track. I'm so glad that we were able to connect. But what, what's, what's next for you guys? What are, what are the goals going forward, uh, that you would like to see happen with your group? Well, I do want to see one. That's, I mean, I would like to definitely see one. I don't know about face to face, but at least where I can definitely say,
Starting point is 01:27:36 okay, that's a big foot. I haven't, you know, never seen, seen one. Personally, as a group, I mean, just, I mean, not just for our group, but any group, I would like to see the, see it discovered as a, and made a definite species. That would be great.
Starting point is 01:27:59 I mean, I don't want to shoot one, but I would love to see it recognized by the scientific community that is a real animal and needs protection. Yeah. I agree. And Doug? And I'm along the same lines. You know, we're kind of unconventional researchers because, you know, I've gone backed off on doing calls, even though I can do. a pretty loud one and tree knocks. We're starting to get into more of a stealthy type situation with them where we will incorporate
Starting point is 01:28:40 those things as we go. But I just would like to find, because I think it exists. I think there's something out there. It has to be because there's just too many footprints now and too many experiences. And so if it could be protected, because I think there's, I think as humans, sometimes we get this idea that we know more than we really know. And it would just kind to lay rest to because I know, I bet you there's a lot more experiences out there and people are just afraid because, I mean, we get ridiculed a little bit from our friends. You know, they think, oh, you're going out and doing that, you know. And it's okay.
Starting point is 01:29:22 I don't care. You know, that doesn't bother me. But I think there's a lot of others. that maybe have really good stories that are afraid to do that because of that. Because it's kind of a, it's one of those 50-50 things, you know, where people either think you're crazy that you're searching for some mythological creature or if it's real. So it'd be kind of nice to get more proof so that it could be laid to rest once and for all. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:29:52 I agree with you. It'd be awesome if we could, you know, get video footage or something that would finally put it to rest to prove it as a species. Todd and Doug, this has been just an awesome chat. Thank you so much for coming on. How can people keep up to date with what you are doing in your research or you guys kind of undercover unless someone pulls you into an interview? you. Well, I have a personal Facebook page. They get, you know, Todd samples on, on, on Facebook. But we don't only have a legitimate website or Facebook yet. We are working on that. So if we do have one, it will be entitled Bigfoot Wilderness Research. So that's what it'll be. Hopefully,
Starting point is 01:30:52 next month or two. That's a plan. That's awesome. We'll have these pictures. We'll have other pictures that we have online and we'll have all that on there. Very cool. So listeners, you'll want to definitely keep up to date with what they are doing and I'll update the links once I see that come out. But Todd and Doug, thank you so much for coming on tonight and it's been a pleasure. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. It's been really enjoyable.
