And the monkey man jumped down out of the tree. It started running away. And suddenly they're right in front of the car. He slams on the brakes and manages to stop and he skidding. You know, graveling. And literally for about a second and a half, they just stood there because they don't know where to go. and you tell them panic and they're like with nothing.
Starting point is 00:02:22 Their face is like twitching. Welcome back to Bigfoot Society, a podcast where we focus on cryptids, the strange and the unexplained of this world. If you've got a story or something weird to share, send an email over to me at bigfoot society at gmail.com. And if you'd like to support this show, head on over to patreon.com forward slash the Bigfoot Society.
Starting point is 00:02:54 And now on with the show. Hi there, it's Sunday. That means it's time for the Bigfoot News. So sit back as we go through different news articles I found throughout the week that mainly have to do with Bigfoot, maybe some cryptid stuff as well. First news item we have is 7th annual Squatch Fest held in Longview, Washington. About 3,000 attendees were expected to be at the festival. There are many different speakers that were in attendance. We've got, well, we've got Craig Yanni showing a video, signs and sounds of Sasquatch.
Starting point is 00:03:39 We got a speaker forum. We also had the following individuals that were in attendance at the Squatch Fest. Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Scott Violet, Mark Mercell, talking about Ape Canine, I would imagine. Shane Corson from the Olympic Project, Kathy Strain, and Cliff. Barakman from the North American Bigfoot Center. Looks like it was a two-day event with about seven food carts and 44 vendors at the festival. Judging by their Facebook page for it, many fun things occurred. A lot of people had a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:04:16 But unfortunately, as of eight hours ago on January 29th, their inflatable Sasquatch mascot was stolen the night of January 28th, which is terrible. Please contact the Longview Police Department at 360442-58000. If you have any leads on the inflatable Sasquatch or contact Squatch Fest directly through Facebook. Come on, guys. Don't steal, don't steal Sasquatch. That's just not nice. Also, if anyone was there at Squatchfest, please contact me, Bigfoot Society at gmail.com.
Starting point is 00:05:03 If you've got any thoughts, any observations about how it went, I'd love to talk to you, maybe get a little report for the podcast on that. Coming up next, we have an item that's pretty interesting from a Reddit post back on January 17th. It seems that Bigfoot was seen on Google Earth in the state of Colorado. If you look at this article, it's really interesting. It's almost like it looks like a Nintendo screenshot really, but from the 80s. But the figure is leaning forward, almost like you imagine it moving quickly across the field. And the thing is, you know, we don't know if this is a, someone put up a, some sort of cutout, or if it's just a weird blob, an anomaly, we don't know. I know there's smart people out there that are listening to this that figure out hoaxes and stuff.
Starting point is 00:06:14 If you think that this is not real and you have evidence to prove it, let me know. send me an email at Bigfoot Society at gmail.com the latitude and longitude is actually in this article, Montrose County in Colorado. So if you can go to that area and take a picture and be like, hey, it's actually this. Send that to me as well, Bigfoot Society at gmail.com. Our next item comes from January 18th.
Starting point is 00:06:51 And is Bigfoot bound for the moon? artist Dan Tzzynski who's a curator of the University of Finley's Mazza Museum and you've probably seen this you've seen it's just an amazing sculpture of a big foot a bust of a big foot its head shoulders that's got like a white goatee just a very menacing figure but the cool thing is
Starting point is 00:07:19 is that the image an image of this Sasquatch, which is titled Evasive Species, will be included in what's called the Lunar Codex Polaris Collection, which is a placement of contemporary arts on the moon. That's pretty cool. It's going to be laser etched on a nickel microfiche, and in a time capsule. Looks like the capsule will be transported on the Griffin Lunar Lander,
Starting point is 00:07:51 launched by SpaceX alongside NASA's Viper rover. So, I mean, pretty cool. An image is going to be an image of Bigfoot that's pretty awesome is going to be on the moon. Who knows what future generations will think? Will they think that that creature was extinct
Starting point is 00:08:09 and used to live on the moon? Who knows what we could be setting up future generations for? But hey, it's just part of the mystery. Maybe they'll hear this podcast somehow and they'll figure it out. FeedSpot released their 30 best cryptozoology podcast. I'd like to take a few minutes and run through those just for fun. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Should we go through? Let's start down at the bottom. And let's start at the top. Yeah, we'll start at the top. Number one, Satchquatch Chronicles. Number two, Monster Talk. Number three, Monsters Among Us Podcast. Number four, the Cryptonaut podcast.
Starting point is 00:09:01 number five from the shadows number six mysteries and monsters number seven cracking cryptids and curios number eight bigfoot terror in the woods number nine bigfoot society hey that's me number ten yowie central number eleven bigfoot and beyond with cliff and bobo number twelve counting cryptids number thirteen beastly theories number fourteen cryptid zone number fifteen cryptic campfire number sixteen all day paranormal Number 17, the cryptid factor. Number 18, cryptids decrypted. Number 19, cryptic. Number 20, alien zoo. Number 21, the amateur cryptid survival guide. Number 22, cryptids on cryptids.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Number 23, cryptids. Number 24, conspiracies and cryptids. Number 25, ABC Cryptosology. Number 26, Mysterious Creatures Program. And number 27, Monster Tales, A Crypted Adventure. And it actually goes just to 27. So there you go. Hopefully the podcast you like is on there.

And leave us a review on iTunes, five stars. And a great review. Helps us get out there. Anyways, that's just a little plug for me. From the Estes Park Trail Gazette,
Starting point is 00:10:29 We have an article about a new establishment opening up in Estes Park, I believe. Let me see here. Yes, Estes Park. Let's get to it. Specifically, West Elkhorn, sorry, I got distracted. Okay, so here we go. So Jack and Jill Skinner, who were going to open up this establishment in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, but ended up not. They chose Colorado instead for a few reasons.
Starting point is 00:11:13 they opened up a Bigfoot-themed donut shop called Squatgy Donuts. Pretty cool. Why not combine your love of Bigfoot and donuts and coffee? It looks like it's split into two areas. On the one side, you can get coffee and donuts. On the other side, you can buy Sasquatch memorabilia, educational materials. And the cool thing is that their main supplier of their coffee is the Sasquatch coffee company, which is cool. I'm even seeing a picture where you can see track casts.
Starting point is 00:11:54 All right, quick quiz for the hiring managers out there. What's worse? Being understaffed or being poorly staffed? This is going to be a much bigger deal than a lot of people realize. There's going to be 50 vendors selling different merch, all centered on Frogman and other different Cincinnati area cryptids.
Starting point is 00:15:02 They'll also be a tournament put on by Medizu, the popular card playing game based on cryptids. and it's a really special one. They're offering a $50,000 prize to the top winners of that tournament at Frogman at the Frogman Festival, which is really cool. There'll also be a lot of different speakers, each one giving 45-minute talks. I'll go ahead and run through those real quick. This one is going to be pretty awesome. Definitely have people coming in that are related to Boggy Creek. First off, we have Lyle Blackburn. You've heard him on the show before. We have Pamela Pierce, Barsalli, and she is, of course, the daughter of Charles B. Pierce.
Starting point is 00:17:34 She has the rights to the legend of Boggy Creek. It looks like she will be talking about that. She has also, of course, appeared in the Legend of Boggy Creek. So she'll probably have some great stories about that. We've got Duke Sullivan, who is a Bigfoot researcher from Montana. Talking about Mountain Giants, Gugwee, all sorts of interesting things. We've got Robin McCray, who has a encounter with the Sasquatch people. We've got Pat McCray.

Lastly, wanted to bring up
Starting point is 00:20:36 the mystery that a few of us are trying to figure out right now. There is a documentary, and this is from March 12th, of 2022. In Oregon, there was a documentary that was being planned and filmed on Peter Byrne, the famous Bigfoot researcher. And a group of us were trying to find out if the documentary is ever made or what the status of it. And we can't find anything anywhere. You may be a listener.
