slash the bigfoot society and now let's get on with the show all right big foot society
we've got the privilege of talking to Nate tonight Nate is an individual that's been a listener
of the show but also uh we got connected about some interesting things that have taken place
over the years out there in his area uh you've got your Easter
in New York and Western Massachusetts.
So we'll be talking about some really interesting things tonight.
But Nate, welcome to the show.
How's it going, man?
Hey, thanks for having me.
I'm glad to be here.
Glad to talk about this to someone who will listen.
Absolutely.
I mean, it's always a great time when we're able to talk Bigfoot
and give individuals a safe place to.
share what they've experienced. But, you know, Nate, I want to make sure that you've got all the
time that you need tonight because it sounds like we have a fair amount of things to go over.
But I feel free, you know, if there's anything else that listeners need to know context-wise
about yourself, feel free to share that. But I'll also let you get right into it, man.
Great. Well, yeah, I'm living now in the Berkshires in the,
right on the border of Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut, and grew up in Colorado,
spent most of my, you know, all my childhood there, and then some of my younger adult years there.
And plenty of weird experiences, but nothing Bigfoot related out there,
nothing until I got out here.
I spent most of my career working in the nonprofit sector, working for different conservation organizations in Massachusetts and New York,
and kind of where all my high strangeness and my one potential siding happened is in eastern New York,
right on the border of Massachusetts
where I was working for a conservation organization
and I was working as a
basically a cartographer
but more using GPS and GIS
to make maps and document properties
that were going under what's called a conservation easement
where they give up their development rights
or a certain amount of their development rights.
in exchange for protecting the land and also getting some kind of tax breaks.
So in my specific role with this organization, I got to go all over this amazing county
to incredible private properties, public properties, you know, private properties owned
by rich and famous and wealthy and, you know, people that built.
the U.S., you know, like
Rockefellers and people like that.
So it was a pretty cool job
where I got to see a lot of places that
not a lot of people went to.
All this time,
Bigfoot was never on my brain.
You know, I was a big fan of Harry
and the Anderson's growing up,
but, you know, had kind of
got on into different
interest after that.
And, you know,
I've always been interested in nature, but
you know, Bigfoot was definitely not,
on my brain at that point in time.
So, you know, kind of as before I getting my siding here, kind of give some anecdotal evidence
of some of the things that were happening.
Typically, in my job, I would be the person that would be carrying the GPS and also a big
giant antenna sticking out the top of a big bright yellow backpack.
So very cumbersome, you know, couldn't get into a lot of tight spaces.
So I would typically have my co-worker would be in front of me.
And she'd be going around, you know, I'd be telling her where we're headed.
And she would kind of be in front of me, making sure I'm not going to run into a tree or step off a cliff, that type of thing.
And so one of the big running gags that always happened to us as we're doing this is that, you know, she just kept,
feeling that I was kicking rocks at her, throwing rocks at all the time.
You know, like, a lot of times, you know, maybe I was because I had this GPS unit that I was kind of focused on and not really focused on my feet.
But there's no way that I'm hitting her with all these rocks that she's complaining about.
And then half the time, I'm also getting pegged with acorns or pine cones or rocks as well.
So, you know, two smart people never really questioned why this was happening.
You know, just kind of focused on our job, just kept kind of going along.
One of the other things that my co-worker blamed me for, which I know was not my fault,
was she had this beautiful kind of sky blue Subaru that was pretty brand new.
and we would take it on a lot of these work excursions that we'd go on and all you know we'd be parking
some of some cases you know out in the middle of a property that you know no one's on not even
a caretaker you know no one's been on for months or year even and we'd be parking off of main roads
you know up woods wood roads and things like that and her car started getting these
giant white masses on there.
They're like handprints.
And, you know, she kept blaming me, like, you know, like, you put me your sunscreen
on and then you're touching my car, stop it.
And, you know, these big white smudges just would not come out no matter what we did.
You know, you basically have to scratch the finish to get these things off.
You know, so I apologize.
You know, I took the blame.
I didn't know what to think other than.
You know, it wasn't me.
I'm not touching the car all over, but, you know, it's just one of those things looking back on now what I've kind of heard reports of.
You know, it makes me think that it wasn't me that something else could have been out there.
And, you know, like other reports that I hear, we, you know, we'd have these great properties that we're going to sometimes had amazing natural features on them.
know, different things like waterfalls, natural springs, caves, you know, different things.
And, you know, I don't know, more often than not, every time there was a special place that we'd really want to get to.
For some reason or another, we could never get to our final destination because the equipment would have some kind of malfunction.
and the GPS would say we're two miles north of where we actually were, you know,
and we would always have multiple different pieces of equipment, you know,
to make sure that we were able to do our work with a certain degree of accuracy.
And so, you know, it was really impossible for some of these multiple things to be acting up the way that they were.
You know, and especially, you know, this one case where we are trying to get to the entrance to the,
this cave, you know, it just didn't add up.
You know, we're, we're fully charged batteries.
You know, we have, we can tell how many satellites are up in the sky that are, you know,
are providing more data to us to triangulate where our location is so that our accuracy
improves so that, you know, everything's showing that we, we should be collecting data and
moving where we should, but weird things happening, you know, like, and sometimes,
we couldn't get to these locations.
Sometimes we'd have to come back on a different day
to try and get there.
Just a lot of weird stuff like that.
One of the weirdest things
that we had happened to us is
as I said, some of these properties,
you know, they're owned by very wealthy people
and, you know, maybe they haven't visited the property
in, you know, a long time.
That was the case,
with this one property we're at.
And as we're, you know, going up the driveway, the grass is about three feet tall.
And it just got this spooky vibe to it, even though the house is, you know, kind of like a newish type house.
But, you know, there's just the lawn's uncapped.
It doesn't look like anybody's been there.
And, you know, so we kind of knock on the door just as we do typically to let people know that we're there to walk the property and do our job.
we kind of slip a little note in the door,
walk behind the house,
go out into the woods,
kind of do our little walk around the property,
make sure they haven't built any structures
where they shouldn't have, blah, blah, blah, blah,
come back.
And on our way back past this house,
there's this giant organ,
fresh organ sitting on,
I believe it was a burdock leaf.
It looked like it was presented
to us.
I don't, both of us
swear that it wasn't there
as we walked out there
because we passed, you know,
right by where this thing
ended up on our way back.
You know, neither of us saw it
when we were going out there,
but it was one of the weirdest things
that ever occurred to us.
And, you know, needless to say,
we got the heck out of Dodge,
you know, as soon as we saw that.
So, all that kind of took place.
between 2010, 2013, 2013, probably, I think it was probably in May, getting up, as I normally
doing out the door to head up to work, 630, 645, something like that.
And the way I got to work up in Chadden, New York, was taking the Deconic State Parkway.
It's a beautiful road that kind of gives you an alternate drive to get up from New York City,
you know, basically up to I-90, which would get you to Albany.
It's a 50-mile-an-hour road, two lanes in either direction, and there's no commercial traffic allowed.
So it's, you know, it's a very leisurely country drive.
You know, it's slower than taking some of the other routes, but it's a nice route to travel.
And so I, you know, I loved it.
There were lots of nature every day when I was out there because traveling, when I traveled that time of morning, there was typically no one out there.
So I'd see a lot of deer, a lot of hawks, whatever.
On this particular morning, as I said, it was, you know, sometime in an early spring before everything was fully greened out.
But, you know, starting to get there.
and I'm heading up north on the parkway
and on either side of the road,
both north and southbound,
there's steep embankments off either side of the road.
You know, they go down.
Sometimes there could be little creeks at the bottom,
you know, patches of forest.
The north and southbound lanes aren't right next to each other.
Sometimes there could be quite a bit of land in between.
And so as I'm heading northbound, I'm kind of at the base of this hill.
And this hill has large rock outcropping that basically was, you know, half of it was blasted away to make this portion of the road.
And so it's this large cliff face on the right side, which would be heading east.
from the west side
left lane
I see just something
get up over the guardrail
when I'm at the base of this hill
and I can see it's perfectly
kind of silhouetted
with the sky behind it
and it makes
one bound
kind of in the middle of the road
goes horizontal
and then
it's completely off into the median
after that
and so I'm at the base
of this hill and I'm like
I'm gone to
in it. I want to see what this is.
I'm, you know, I'm pretty close.
I'm 100 yards,
75, 100 yards away from
this thing as I see it. So,
if I can get up this hill,
I'm going to be able to
see this thing on this rock cliff
or, you know, or maybe it hasn't
been able to climb off the rock
face because whatever
it is, it's going to have a tough time regardless.
So I get up to the top of the hill.
And there's
nothing there. I mean, this is a
50, 60 foot rock face, you know, pretty much straight up.
If it's a deer, you know, probably not even getting up it.
If it's a billy goat, maybe it's getting up, you know, halfway.
Like, I should be able to see whatever this thing was.
And there's nothing there.
And I, you know, I'm kind of looking in the rear view as I'm driving by, like still thinking,
You know, what the heck is this?
Where did that thing go?
Because I know the land up up there.
It's just amazing.
It disappeared out of nowhere.
As I'm, you know, driving away, I'm thinking about, you know, okay, what did I see?
What did I see?
Like, you know, was it a mountain lion?
Like, no, it wasn't a mountain lion.

There was no tail. The color was this amber, strawberry blondeish type color as it was shining in the sun.
It, you know, it didn't match up with the length because, you know, when I think you look back,
and think about it, the length of this thing was basically two-thirds of both of those lanes,
which would be 16 to 18 feet long toe to tip of hand. And, you know, that's not a deer. That's
not a mountain lion. Like, I don't know anything that's around there that would be that long. It's not a coyote.
you know like there's nothing that that kind of matches up with the length of this thing as I saw it go horizontal as it bounded across the road so you know I tried to sell myself on the it was a mountain lion for a little bit but it just it didn't match up and so it just puzzled me for years and I you know I kind of I told my co-worker that I do all this work with and you know tried to try to
tried to convince her as I was convincing myself that I saw a mountain line, but it still,
it wasn't a mountain line because I kept saying it, you know, it didn't have the tail.
And the color, the color was like this, you know, orangis amber, almost like close to
orangutan color, but not quite.
And so, you know, I don't know.
I don't know what I saw.
but one of the things that that made me think it was interesting,
you know, years later, I come across, you know,
one of these videos, Small Town Monsters,
and they're talking about the Kinderhood Creek Monster.
And I'm like, oh, man, that's close to this.
That's everything that this guy is talking about sounds an awful
out like what I saw.
did I see a big foot like you know and so that's that's where I'm out now with that is
you know it's it's the closest thing that I compare it to I you know the thing for me that
I never saw it stand up you know and so like I'm judging this thing based upon the length
as it cross the road but I don't know anything that that's that long as it goes horizontal
from to the end of its, you know, what would be its hands, I guess, you know, as it's bounding across the road.
Nate, that's where I'm at.
Nate, that's a fascinating sighting.
And I definitely have a few questions for you about it.
So the first thing you notice was you saw the silhouette of it.
When you saw that silhouette, probably just for a very short time, did you notice anything interesting?
or any details about the way that that silhouette looked?
You know, it seemed, in looking back, it seemed hunched over as it got over the guardrail,
which makes sense because like I said, like it was coming up kind of a steep embankment.
And, you know, I couldn't make out any features, but, you know, the biggest thing to me was like just the,
the quickness that this thing kind of just made this one move to cross both lanes,
you know, like deer, anything else, you know, they would have, they would have taken multiple
steps, so smooth, came up over the guardrail, and just across there, and then, you know,
I wish I could have seen it maneuver up this rock phase, because that must have been just
equally as effortless
you know like it just
disappeared of this thing so
that's all I can say
you know that the one thing
that I
you know kind of think about
from time to time is that you know
all my years driving up and down
this is the chronic state parkway and this is
a little more of it so I apologize
to some of the listeners
here but you know
things get hit on the road
and so there's a specific
road
crew division
that goes up and down
the parkway,
you know,
it's,
I don't know,
I guess it's probably
New York DOT or something,
but they collect
a lot of these things
that have been hit on the road
and I've seen them in certain locations,
you know,
where there's this giant steep embankment
off the side of the road,
just tossing these things
and number off the side of the road.
Like down,
you know, some of these things are 40, 50 feet down from the, you know, where the road is.
So, you know, no one's going to see them or smell them, but there may be other things interested in them.
So, you know, that was, that was one of the things that I, you know, I always thought about afterwards is, you know, like, you know, there could be something down there that's, you know, attracting them.
Other than, you know, this is just happens to be where they chose to cross the road.
Like I feel that there had to been something there that they were after to be there in this location when there was many possible locations where they would have been concealed.
No, I think that's a great theory because it's like, you know, you're making it easy for them.
You're tossing, you're pretty much making a, well, yeah, buffet in a way.
up and down the road and not to get too gross or whatever but another interesting thing is
I bet those DOT guys have probably seen some stuff and they probably just don't talk about it but
there's got to be one DOT dude going up and down that road all the time that probably has seen
something but um who knows I'm sure you know there's there's probably lots of folks like me that
have seen something they just can't pinpoint exactly what it is you know but
They listen to the right thing or they get down that just the right YouTube wormhole and they'll figure it out.
Absolutely.
Now, when you were watching it go across just for very quick, were you able to see a distinction between the different, well, I guess legs or the arms in the legs?
Could you see a difference between those?
Thinking back on it, no, because I feel like when it took off from the left side of the road,
you know, it clearly was using its legs.
And I think, you know, when it kind of hit at some point in the middle of the road,
I think I don't remember seeing the legs come down.
like so i think you know that must have been the you know the arms you know front paws whatever so
i couldn't see them individually because they both kind of acted at the same time you know whether
it was the legs or arms the way you know and it was yeah go ahead and you know like you said it
it was just so quick that you know you know it was a about a football field a way
from it, you know, so it couldn't pick out as much details as I wanted to.
Absolutely.
I mean, it's, yeah, that would be tricky, especially if you were a type of person where
you were wanting to see it.
And you're like, man, you got to can't, can't go faster, must go faster.
That would be terrible.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
You know, and luckily, you know, there was no one behind me.
So, you know, as I got up to this thing, I was able to slow down.
degree, you know, I probably was going, you know, 35, 40, you know, at that point in time,
because, you know, I'm kind of hunched.
I had a Toyota Corolla hunched down, like looking up this cliff face trying to see what's up there.
So I slowed down enough that, you know, I should have been able to see something.
And then as you go past this thing, you know, I knew the land.
So I was looking in my rear room mirror because you can kind of see up on top of this bluff.
You know, it used to be a hill, but basically it was cut in half as they made the road.
So up on tops all flat and forested.
So you can kind of see up there nothing.
It's interesting how the orangutan thing gets brought up more times than not.
Even on the east side of the country had an individual that saw one that reminded him of that as well.
in South Coabin Reservoir,
I think it was back in the 90s.
But I've also had a person
used the same,
pretty much the same words
that you use, the strawberry blonde
for a big foot
that she saw out in the,
I think it was Fall Creek area
of Oregon,
just west of Oak Ridge
and east of Eugene a little bit there.
But I think there might be
something to
the how it reminds everyone of most people of orangutans now there's there's other things that
reminds people of but i thought that is very interesting that that you brought that up did you
did you share this right away with with people once you you got to where you were going or you're
when you got back home you know i i shared it i probably shared it with my wife eventually and you know
there was only because I was still thinking I'm crazy I can't identify this thing like I
you know if there's someone that should be able identify it like that's what I went to school for
you know that's what my job is you know to know these type of things so I should have been
able to identify it so you know I told like my one co-worker who swears he's seen a mountain
lion you know in this area and then my my other co-worker that I
get all my mapping work with.
You know, that's about it.
You know, I couldn't explain it.
So, you know, there's not, you know, not much to go with there.
If you're like, hey, I got this cool story, but I don't know what it is, you know.
But, you know, it makes a lot more sense to me now, you know,
I'd be willing to put more money on that it was, you know,
Sasquatch
because it just
could have
any other
explanation for me
that's my
my sighting there
I've
had a lot of
other
experiences here
that I kind of
you know
and putting out there
as anecdotal
evidence you know
like nothing else
I've seen personally
but I've had
some weird
weird experiences here.
So, you know, one of the, you know, I was a cartographer, you know, basically for a little while,
and I switched positions into land management, being a property manager of a lot of these
properties owned by Conservation Group.
And basically there was, you know, 15 properties, 5,000 acres, 25 miles of trees,
trails that were open to the public, you know, 365 days a year for free.
You know, not, there were certain areas that, you know, are protected and stuff, but, you know, they're basically like the county park system.
And so I was in charge of managing a lot of these properties.
And so any weird thing that that happened or people thought happened I'd hear about.
So, you know, one of the, the strangest things that occurred was I got a call one day from a fellow that was a volunteer for me at one of the property, which was a hunting volunteer during hunting season, make sure that, you know, there was nothing funny going on that, you know, only people that had permission were hunting there and that no one from other properties were creeping over.
and this guy was legit dude.
He was the former county sheriff.
At the moment when he was my volunteer, he was the county coroner.
So he was an official guy.
He calls me up one day and he says, hey, you got a deer out in the middle of your field.
And, you know, that was pretty much the gist of the message.
And so I get my.
my John Deere Gator loaded up and, you know, know that I'm going to have to deal with this thing and probably haul it off somewhere, get away from public view.
And so get out there with one of my assistants and we get out there and we find a headless deer.
This thing is, this deer is a doe.
There's no reason its head should be missing.
there is no blood anywhere to be seen.
And, you know, I wouldn't call the cut surgical,
but, I mean, I don't know what could have made it.
You know, like, you know, it was just,
it was done so clean that it just didn't make sense.
And this thing is just laying out in the middle field.
There's a road no more than,
300 yards from a major county road.
Bigfoot Society will be right back after these messages.
But I manage it well.
It's a little bill with the big story to tell.
I take one's daily Jardians at each day start.
And for adults with type 2 diabetes and known heart disease,
Jardians can lower the risk of cardiovascular death too.
Prescription Jardians, Empiglphlosin, 10 or 25 milligram tablets,
are used to lower blood sugar along with diet and exercise and adults with type 2 diabetes.
Jardians is not for use to lower blood sugar in people with type 1 diabetes and not for people
with type 2 diabetes who have severe kidney disease.
Serious side effects include increased ketones in blood or urine and infection between
and around the anus and genitals.
Both may be fatal.
Severe allergic reactions, dehydration, urinary tract or genital yeast infections in men and women
and low blood sugar.
Stop taking and tell your doctor right away if you have nausea, vomiting, stomach pain,
tiredness, rash, swelling, or swallowing.
Tell your doctor about lighthead.
weakness, fever, pain, tenderness, redness, or swelling between the anus and genitals.
You may have increased risk for lower limb loss.
Call your doctor right away if you have new pain or tenderness, sores, or infections in your
legs or feet.

Neighbor's houses nearby that overlooked this property.
There's no reason this deer should be laying there headless in the middle of the field.
Regardless, I, you know, I got to deal with this thing.
I still kind of amazed, you know, that this, the guy didn't, he either didn't know that the deer was headless or he, you know, he didn't tell me that fact, which I thought was pretty strange.
But regardless, I had a deer deal with this deer.
And so my assistant and I dragged it off in the woods.
And, you know, I like to turn some of these bad situations into good situations.
So one of the things that we did was we took this deer and we put it in the location to kind of and see, all right, let's see what predators are around.
Let's set up this trail camera.
See if we can figure out, you know, are the coyotes here, you know, just turkey vultures, you know, and scavengers, what kind of predators?
here. So we set up
trial camera
pretty close to this deer, cover the deer
up with a bunch of leaves and stuff,
get it off the trail out of
the way so it's not going to smell
and so no one will see it.
Just, you know,
come back, I don't know,
two, three days later,
you know, to check the
camera, check the deer and
the deer's gone. Like, oh,
okay.
You know,
figured we'd take longer than that we'd see it decomposing but uh some things manning to drag it off
and you know we we didn't do a good job of securing the deer down so it was kind of bad on us
but we're expecting no problem at least we're going to see what gets to drag us out take the
camera back check the card have plenty of pictures beforehand plenty of pictures after no pictures
of anything messing with the deer dragging around,
which is just crazy to us.
I mean, we got pictures of little dust things flying through the air.
Like, how can we not see something dragging this deer off?
So, whatever.
We forget about it, move on, do other stuff.
Not too long after that, I had a different property
where we had moved a parking area
because there was some shady activity occurring on this property
because the parking lot was pretty far off the road.
So we moved the parking lot very close to a public road
so that we could get patrolled by the local police more often
and just not be a bother to some of these neighbors.
So in order to comply with the town
and all the neighbors' demands,
And moving this parking lot, we had to put up a fence along this trail, which was an all-access trail.
You know, basically anyone with any abilities should be able to access this trail.
And so we put up a fence along it, and unfortunately we forgot to notify the deer.
And one of the young gear ended up getting hung up in the fence.
and ended up dying, which was pretty unfortunate.
And of course, you know, I got a panic call from some visitor that saw this thing.
So we had to rush out there and deal with this thing.
So, again, you know, we got this deer at this particular property.
I'd been told by neighbors that there's packs of wild dogs roaming around.
There's way too many coyotes.
We should be killing, you know, every coyote that we see.
So in my mind, I'm thinking, all right, here's a golden opportunity.
You know, we're going to take this deer.
We're going to take what we learned from the last one.
We're going to tie the sucker down, getting into the location where nothing can drag it away.
And we're going to put a camera on it.
We're going to, you see if there's packs of wild dogs out here, you know, all these coyotes that are the neighbors claiming out here that he wants to shoot.
And so same thing.
Set it up.
We drag this deer out.
it's hard for us to get it in this location.
There's small pin oaks,
scrub oaks everywhere.
And we're having a heck of a time
getting this thing in there,
finally get it in,
tie it down to one of the nearby
stumps or stocks of one of the trees there
and set up the camera.
And same thing.
We get some pictures beforehand,
which some of them were kind of interesting,
you know, like,
I'm nearly certain it was all moths,
but you get some of these cool pictures
that almost look like what they call rods,
where it's kind of the cylindrical tube in the middle
and kind of has this helix-looking swirl around it.
I'm pretty sure it was just insects,
but they were interesting nonetheless.
And one of the pictures, you know,
kind of almost had like a misty,
fog in it.
And then next thing
you see, you see me
looking at the camera. Like, again,
all this activity, like,
something took the whole deer,
moved it from this location
without
triggering the camera. And it's not
like, you know,
someone can come over and view
the pictures and delete them. It's not
one of those type of cameras. You actually have to
take the card out to view it.
You know, so you would need a separate device or you need to go back to the office and plug it in to view it.
And so this is the second time it's happened to me.
And I can't explain it this time because, you know, where we set it up,
you would have to untie both feet and you'd have to basically either have two people
or you'd have to put this thing over your shoulder to get it out of there because all the trees were so tight.
it would be impossible to drag through there.
You'd be constantly hanging up on roots on the ground.
And so that was just a mystery to me.
And, you know, this property I know,
you know, there's a lot of homeless activity,
you know, homeless people living there.
It's just north of the city of Hudson and New York,
right along Hudson River, right along the train track.
I've had to evacuate a lot of homeless people from there.
So is it possible one of them?
Yes, but I mean, why chance it with a spoiled gear
and how the heck they even know this deer was in there in the first place?
So I just can't explain that.
You know, at the same property, you know,
there was a couple other weird things that happened as we,
as we were mapping, one conservation organization was transferring the ownership of the property to the organization I was working for.
As part of the transfer of ownership, you know, basically we had to go around and remap the property and, you know, make sure that we found all the boundaries that were on the survey.
Otherwise, we'd have to hire a survey company to come in and resurvey the property.
So it was our job to go around and do this.
So found all kinds of crazy structures put together.
Wish I had paid more attention to them because at the time, you know, I'm thinking,
all these are, you know, it's just, it's these homeless, homeless people, you know,
they're just putting together this rudimentary structure to get out of the rain or whatever, hide out,
do whatever they do.
we found
this one location where
we found a boundary pin on a rock
one day
came back the next day
since we found that location
that was our starting point for the next day
the next day there was an empty turtle shell
sitting right on this
boundary pin where we had stopped the day before
someone could have put it there
it wasn't on a trail
It wasn't anywhere that typically public would have gone,
but it was a very bizarre find.
And one of the other one of the things about this property is that we ended up possibly seeing what other folks had told legend of on this property,
which was an albino deer.
There's a couple old timers around there.
neighborhood that I had talked to that said, oh, it's, it's not an albina here. It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a old lady had a couple piebald's and he, he said, you know, it's one of the, you know, they had, they had offspring and it's one of the, the, the piebolts that got out there. As we were doing the mapping, we were in a certain location of the property and ended up,
hearing all this crashing and we were able to kind of take a picture of this flash of white in the woods
couldn't couldn't tell what exactly it was and whether it was a white deer white whatever but
we did see a flash of white there which was pretty cool never you know never really
followed up on it much after that but you know still think of it often because it's you know if
it was one of these piebalds that's
that's kind of crazy that they're living
on after this lady had
basically had them as pets in
her yard and passed on many years
prior to that.
So,
that's that property.
There's
a property down
in Anchorage, New York, that
was owned by a wealthy
heiress and
she had decided that, you know,
she was
was done owning the property.
It was about 1,200 acres of prime farmland, you know, forest, mountains.
And she had decided to give it to the conservation group that I was working for.
So as part of the transfer of ownership, I was part of the team that was, you know,
going around again mapping the property, basically documenting everything that was occurring
on it at the time to make sure that there was.
no environmental hazards, that type of thing.
Once again, you know, like trying to get to some of these interesting natural features,
like the highest point on the property where there's amazing bluff and buts,
we would just run into all kinds of equipment failures and, you know, we get there by foot,
but the, you know, the way that you go by foot, you know, takes twice as
long so it was just constantly frustrating and we tried it multiple times with with the equipment
and it just was not working out fast forward a little bit we continued on a different side of
the property we come across this really kind of neat bowl area that's just up from this this trout
stream and we go down we get to the bottom of it and there's you know a rock wall
wall behind it and you know it just looks like it looks like a natural amphitheater almost and you get
down to the bottom of it and it's just littered with bones like deer bones of all sorts everywhere
in the middle of it there are three perfect intact antlers on the skull
nothing's chewed it you know no rodents have been on these things
they're just bleached white and they're just everywhere.
Thinking back on it,
I don't know whether the other bones were broken in half,
whether they were whole,
you know,
because I was mostly just focused on these racks.
They're perfect.
Like,
what hunter would leave perfect,
you know,
horns and antlers just sitting there in the woods,
like,
and not come back for it?
we you know we documented and GPS took pictures I followed up with the caretaker of the property
who's just this can tinkerous fellow that you don't want to rub the wrong way you know like he
guarded this this property you know day and night and there's there's no way anyone was was on
there hunting illegally and the only guy that that he allowed to hunt there would never leave
you know, a buck sitting there like that.
So it was one of the strangest things.
I ended up taking two of the skulls and the racks and still have it, by the way.
But it was just a really bizarre thing to see, you know, especially in that county where, you know,
everyone takes such pride in getting a buck and showing off the rack.
So I don't know what to say about that.
BigFa Society will be right back after these messages.

Did anything weird happen after you took those?
No, thank God.
Nothing.
Okay, good.
You never know, man.
Sometimes.
I know.
It wasn't a special crystal.
So, you know, that's why I felt good about taking it.
Exactly.
When you go to any of these properties and you have, like, the equipment start to act weird,
have you also ever experienced, like, any weird physical things happen to yourself
or to your coworkers when you're out there?
I can't say that I ever remember that happening.
Okay.
You know,
but,
you know,
it's just,
it's such a weird thing, though,
because,
you know,
like,
not only was it,
you know,
GPS crapping out and,
you know,
basically sending like a false signal,
but then,
you know,
also had the classic,
like,
be it full battery or even have,
you know,
the battery plugged into the,
the 12 volt,
you know,
like the iPad,
whatever we were using and these things just dropping and it wasn't like we're out
you know negative temperatures like we're out in you know normal conditions you know like
the equipment doesn't work in extreme conditions so it you know for it to be multiple things
that's what really weirded me out like you know one thing go wrong that you know that happens
but like to have all these different ways for the equipment not to be functioning and
And also, the fact that, you know, we've had this happen to us before.
We're not, it's not our first rodeo.
We'd have other pieces of equipment as backups that once again, you know,
wouldn't be able to function as the backup.
So it was pretty crazy.
I don't want to rabbit trail us to maybe a different, well, I'll just ask a question,
just because it came to mind.
You know, you're familiar with the Berkshires and that area.
Have you heard of Bigfoot-related activity, weird stuff happening specifically in, like, the southwest corner of the state of Massachusetts, like, around Mount Washington?
Yeah.
Okay.
That's where I live, yeah.
Yeah, gotcha.
there's
well you know I
I guess I shouldn't say
I have seen
I have seen multiple reports
on BFRO
I actually heard from anyone
that
these weird stuff
but yeah
I mean it's
it's
that's my research area
gotcha
that's that's where I
go you know
I haven't
I've had a couple
you know
feelings about, you know, I'm in the right location, that type of thing, or, you know,
feelings of you should not be here right now type of things there.
But, yeah, I can't wait to go back and spend, you know, closed up all winter.
So that's where I will be going as soon as mud season's over.
That's awesome.
So you're saying that sometimes you'll be in these areas and you'll get just like the,
hey, it's time to go type deal.
Yeah, especially
There was one time where both
me and my lab were up there
and, you know, it was like this
felt like
giant wind coming down the canyon
you know, type of feeling where we were just like,
whoa, you know, both of us just kind of stopped
what we were doing and we just kind of turned the other way
and started heading back down
because I guess they don't know
my last name, but I don't typically follow the trails that a lot of other people are going on.
I, you know, I'm going off trail and I know a lot of people frown on that, but I am one with nature.
You know, I'm not leaving anything behind and I'm very, very gentle.
I'm stepping through the woods like a deer.
So, you know, even though I am off trail, I don't feel I'm doing any, any,
harm to the nature
there by what I'm doing.
But yeah, I'm right there
in Mount Washington and so
you know, some of the weird
I've had a couple weird experiences
right here. I'm right on the
Appalachian Trail. Like you walk
five minutes,
I guess it would take you five minutes just to get
up to hell and you're right on the
Appalachian Trail. It crosses my road.
And we're pretty much surrounded
by Appalachian Trail Conservancy property,
whether it's stuff that they owned
or whether it's property that's protected by an easement
from development.
And I think it was 20,
22, and let's see, it was probably
the second to last week of September.
Somewhere right around like,
21st, 22nd or something like that.
And I'm outside just kind of doing some yard work.
I got the weed whacker going, trimming some stuff down in front of the house here.
And off to the left, I can kind of see that there's a, you know, a dark shape.
I can see what it looks like is someone like a hiker or someone that's probably came off the AT,
went into town and is hiking back up on the AT.
It looks like they got kind of a hood on, you know,
and kind of dug clothes.
And it's a warmish day.
So I kind of thought that was weird all in this very short span of time here.
But I stop weed whacking.
I kind of turn so that I'm not going to throw any of the weeds that I'm
whacking onto this person, kind of do a little bit more work,
let them get a little bit closer before I stop working and I plan to do something else.
So as I turned back around after I stopped, you know, to see where this person is, see where
when I can start working again, they've completely disappeared.
They're no longer walking on the road.
And in this location where I saw them at, you know, basically in between my neighbor's mailbox and mine,
and it's, you know, 15-foot span.
And there's nothing but a wooded hillside that they could have escaped into.
And there's no reason for them to be on this wooded hillside.
They're going on to private property where, you know,
there's a neighbor with dog and kids and, you know, multiple structures that there's a swamp down below.
There's just, there's no reason for anyone to be over there.
So I'm a little freaked out at this point because I'm like, who the heck is going up into the woods right there?
Like who just walked up to the hill from my mailbox and kind of get a little perturbed?
You know, I'm kind of looking around.
I'm looking to see if any of my neighbors are out, ask them like, hey, you know, do you know if anyone is like, you know, it's just about deer season?
You know, anyone hunts over there, they go on to check their stand.
you know, I'm asking around neighbors, no one knows
and anything.
So I'm a little freaked out that, you know,
is there someone like,
is there a bum like living in the woods across the road?
I can't figure this thing out.
You know, tell my wife, tell my kids, you know,
just kind of keep an eye on this.
This is what I saw.
It's a little weird.
A couple weeks go by.
I'm out, you know, same part of the yard,
doing more yard work, but this time I got a brush saw,
a little metal blade on the end of my tool,
and it makes kind of a zing, zing, metal zing sound.
It's kind of cool.
I like using it, but I'm sure it was ringing out all over.
Anyways, I'm out showing one of my sons how to use it,
and we're doing some of this work,
and we kind of look over to the left,
basically in the same location where I
watched this figure disappear
and in slow motion
a tree probably
you know
less than two feet in diameter but you know
pretty good size
slow motion just starts to fall
into the middle of the road
a car stops
just inches before getting crushed
by this tree
and I mean it's it's just bizarre like I'm thinking like what the heck is going on this is that's the same location that I saw someone like this tree comes down as we're standing there I'm doing more yard work you know we rush over you know this car basically like we backs up and guns it out of there before like I can even get over there to ask him if they're okay and you know they're gone
And so my son and I, you know, moved all this, this giant log out of the road.
It's, it's a dead tree, but it's not light.
You know, and there's no reason that this thing should be falling at this time of day anyways,
because there's no win.
You know, maybe it was just its time to go.
It seems weird that we just happened to be there for that.
But say, love you.
So fast forward
I don't know
Maybe a month
Maybe three weeks
Kind of this
The same location
I hear
I'm hearing something at night
Probably I don't know
9, 930 at night
After it's been dark for a little while
Hearing this noise outside
You know
Almost sounds like
One of the weird noises fox makes
So you know
I'm curious
So I go out
side and it's not a fox what I'm hearing like a cat noise and it's it's a big cat noise it's
not bobcat we got bobcat all around I've you know heard them this is this sounds like
it's a big cat noise and this noise is coming from you know 30 40 feet up in a tree
and I'm thinking what the heck has got a big cat tree
and why is there no noise if it's a coyote
if it's any kind of predator around here
and they've got a cat tree
if it's a dog even
if they got something treat they're going to be
freaking out at the bottom they're going to be barking
going crazy and this cat is just
angrier than heck just
making noises
so I run inside
I'm looking for my flashlight
finally get it and I come back outside
And by that time, my neighbor right next to me is out there with one of his zones, and they hear this thing.
So they have a flashlight as well.
We're shining it all over.
We can't figure out where this thing is.
But also being that we can't see where this thing is, and it's sounding so angry, we're not searching all that hard to, you know, like we're not going into the woods looking for this thing.
And, you know, we can't figure it out.
you know eventually we end up just going back inside and you know chalk it up to another weird thing here in the birchews um
so that would be getting towards Halloween time so same same fall i had done a whole bunch of clearing
around the house here had a whole bunch of branches that i needed need to need to burn and so
get a big burn pile
ended up getting a little trouble from the fire marshal
and wasn't able to get a permit to burn
any more big burn piles after that
so I was doing small little
burn piles in my little solo stove
on a nightly basis to get rid of all the rest of the stuff
that I had and
you know would just be hanging out
around the fire just myself
you know maybe listen to some tunes or
whatever and started noticing that across the road and kind of this in between where the tree went down and I saw this thing and where the cat was making the noise there's there's all this stepping in the bushes and so at first I'm thinking okay it's just squirrels and so I'm listening and it's just constantly happening so I go over there and you know making squirrel sounds on it
Nothing's chirping back at me.
Usually I can get squirrels to hang me pretty quickly,
but there's nothing going on.
It's not birds.
Bigfoot Society will be right back after these messages.

And so get my flashlight, wait until I hear the sound,
turn on my flashlight, and can't find anything.
And it's just constantly, it's like there's pacing back and forth,
back and forth in the woods.
And wherever the sound is coming from, I should be able to see wherever this is.
So this is, you know, it happens, I don't know, one or two nights as I'm doing this fire thing.
Come home one night, drive up into the driveway, and my eldest son and his friend are sitting there, you know, kind of off of the base of the driveway, just looking across the road.
I'm like, hey, what are you guys doing?
They're like, there's something over there.
There's the noise over there.
I'm like, oh, God.
You guys get up, get up top.
we'll talk about it.
So, you know, sat there and listened to it,
tried the same thing with them,
trying to shine in the light on it once we heard the noise.
Like,
just could never explain it.
And, you know, to this day,
I've not been able to explain it.
The noises have,
I've found that they stopped basically
November to April.
And then,
from May until basically October,
that's when I hear these things.
If we're outside at night,
if I'm having a little fire,
you know,
we're doing whatever.
I hear, you know,
every night,
I hear hootin.
Some of it sounds an awful lot like Bartels.
Some of it sounds an awful lot not like Bartels.
One time,
as I'm coming out of my shed,
This was actually pretty recently here in the last couple weeks.
I step out of my shed, which is at the back of my property.
And I noticed this on occasion that when I turn off the light of my shed,
if I'm in there doing some artwork or whatever,
and come out that I hear a hoot.
This time, turn off the light, and I wait for the light to go off.

I want it to be dark before I go out.
And as soon as I open the door,
I hear hoot, but at the same time, there's like a scream sound as well.
It's like a hooey, you know, almost as if there were two separate sounds.
I don't know.
But, you know, it's, it's weird.
We found deer legs just separated, left around, you know, the yard, back up on the hill where we walk our dogs just behind their place.
I know there's coyotes, but once again, if coyotes are tearing up a deer that close to the house, you think you'd hear them.
They make an awful lot of noise even when they're not killing something.
So I can't explain it.
I don't know.
I've reached out to BFRL, tried to file a report.
it didn't have much luck.
The nice guy called me back,
but I don't think he ever filed my report.
He was more interested in talking about one of his upcoming events.
So I love if anyone's around in this area and wants to do some explore them,
but they should get in touch with me.
So, Nate, there's some really interesting things going on on that property.
you know I I talk to multiple people right now every day so I am very much listening to people talk about
things they have happen and man there's some stuff that you're saying where it is just
uh hitting some some alarm bells you know that uh it's like oh yeah here we go um
and yeah, you've got the random deer legs around your property.
That's a big one that always shows up.
I mean, that's all over the U.S. too when I talk to witnesses.
And does it, when you hear the owls or like the ones that sound like they're fake,
is it almost like they don't know how to do the owl call at the end?
Like they mess it up at the end?
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, for instance, like last night with the blood moon, like there was, I was listening to four Bardowls talk, you know, right out behind my shed.
Like I just turned off the music, stood outside the door in the dark, and they were just communicating back and forth.
And this was, you know, this was Bardard out, who cooks for you, who cooks for you, you know, like that.
Even, you know, some of the, they make variations, of course.
but yeah, I know my owls pretty good, you know, through my years.
That was one of the things that I always enjoyed about my job is, you know,
I got to go on many owl prows and calling, you know, owls for people.
And they'd be like, oh, my God, that's amazing, you know.
Right, yeah.
It is awesome.
Yeah.
I feel, I know I'm pretty good.
And, you know, once again, there are variations, like even if you go on any,
of the apps you can hear that they don't always make the same sound, but
some of them are just too weird and, you know, lower range as well.
Like, you know, like the lower range to me is kind of one of the things that I'm trying
to listen for the most because I've heard that a couple times.
You know, and there's multiple communications going on as well,
whether they're many gig real owls or not, you know,
like you, because you can hear it kind of echo around the forest.
You know, we're lucky in where we are in my spot.
Most of the houses that are all around us are all completely wooded.
We're like one of the houses that there's clearing.
So we get weird things like when major weather events I've had,
I've looked out the window and seen like 3,000 starlings just, you know,
hanging out on the ground around the house one time, you know, this, this winter, I want to say it was a blue heron.
I hoped to God it wasn't a thunderbird or something creepy than that, but I walked up to my shed in the dark, and this must have been October, and all of a sudden, some giant wing thing flies off of the top of my shed.
You know, like basically this bird had been on top of my shed just laying there.
You know, I guess because it's a black roof.
You know, maybe it absorbs some heat from the sun or something.
It was warm.
You know, maybe I had a heater going on in there.
I don't know.
But, you know, it's cool that we have all this nature here.
But, you know, some of this other stuff is just a little weird little concern.
learning, you know, with kids and little doggies here.
I totally get it.
Is there a weird history to the property?
You go way back?
Well, not way back, but there is one really weird thing that you will probably get a kick out of.
We tried to buy this property.
I want to say, we probably tried to buy it in 20,
13 or 14.
And it was
listed as two acres
and we just
we couldn't get our
loan up to the amount.
And so
the lady
selling the property
ended up selling
one acre to a neighbor
across the street
and then put the house
on the market
and it got snatched up
before we got it.
Ends up
the guy that bought it
did a whole lot of
tree clearing in the backyard
and then
of dropping a tree on himself and dying in the backyard.
And so, unfortunately, you know, that happened.
And he had married a lady from South America who just, you know,
wasn't able to keep up with the place.
So he came back up on the market.
We grabbed it.
So that's always been on my mind on this price.
property, especially as, you know, even after the lady left, you know, she would just, she would show up from time to time, like, without, like, letting us know.
She would just be in the backyard, you know, like, laying flowers in and stuff.
So, you know, like, it was always cool with us, of course, you know, because, you know, she's, she's going through something.
We didn't want to be jerks about that.
But at the same time, you know, it's like, it's, it's always.
in the back of my mind so hopefully he's he's here to protect us yeah he's here for
i was not expecting anything like that i was kind of maybe digging for uh well it used to be it used
to have some native american ties uh you know if you go way way way back but that is that is extremely
interesting what you what you shared and is she's still randomly showing up to this day at times
No, I haven't seen her in a while.
We still end up, we get mail for both of them all the time.
So sad.
Yeah.
And, you know, my neighbor was on the fire and rescue, you know,
the volunteer fire and rescue squad here in town.
And so he was the first one on the scene because he lives right next door.
So I, you know, constantly get reminded about it every time I see him.
But, you know, there's a.
only been one
time
when there was anything
weird, you know, where I felt
like I needed
to evoke the Lord's name,
you know, just to
just to clear whatever
weird energy was in the house
at the time.
You know, that's the only time
it's ever happened and, you know,
nothing since and I've never
never
really, you know,
thought anything bad would happen
but it's just a weird thing
to have hanging over you.
Yeah, no, I totally get it.
It's good that you were able to do that
and we don't even have to talk about
what it was for sure,
but it's good you were able to do that
and then whatever was going on stopped.
It's just very weird how all this stuff
seems to be related in somehow, in some cases, is very strange.

Yeah.
I mean, all of this, this whole part of the, you know, this part of Massachusetts is all so historical.
I mean, this is all where, you know, all the Livingston wars and all that took place.
So, you know, the tenant wars and where, you know, Massachusetts and New York were fighting over this, this weird little section of the world here where, you know, it's just, I mean,
obviously there's natural resources here that they were fighting over iron ore and that type of stuff
but yeah it's it's it's a cool cool part of the the country to live in and you know there's there's
lots of history if you dig i mean even as we were kind of talking earlier you know like one
of the reasons i reached out was because i had uh heard a recent episode of years where you know
there was a guy that frequented somewhere near to my home, you know, where he had some pretty
emotional experiences for him, you know, and that's a place where all of our schools have
their graduations. It's like breakfast in this place. You know, it's like where we have
our kids play dates. It's where the dog park is. It's where the pickleball court is. It's where, you know,
like, you know,
everyone takes their horses to ride the trails.
It's just, you know,
it's cool to think that, you know,
all this stuff can be happening right here
amongst all of us living so busily,
you know,
and it's,
that it's not just happening out
in the middle of nowhere where there,
you know, there's no civilization that it's,
you know, that it is happening on the fringe.
And,
even,
even,
even more populated than the fringe.
So it's, I don't know.
It's cool, worrisome, exciting, all of it.
It is, it's quite an area to live in.
I, you know, I mentioned every once in a while.
I grew up in Franklin County, which is up closer to New Hampshire
and Northfield and Greenfield area.
But that Berkshire area is just absolutely beautiful.
But Nate, are you trying to,
I mean, it sounds like you've been looking into the subject.
You're probably aware that if you want things maybe also to clear out,
do you have like game cams up around your property at all?
I have put them up, you know, from time.
Yeah, I don't have them up currently.
I mean, my experiences with the game cams is, yeah,
you put them up, you're not going to get anything on them.
But I guess that's the point, right?
And if you don't want things around, put them up.
Yeah, exactly.
But it's a thing where, you know, maybe you found a good balance after you did invoke that, you know.
So it's kind of just take the day of time.
I mean, what I really would like is to get fleer to see what's in these bushes across the street.
And I hope to God it's a squirrel.
that I'm just not seen
but who knows
who knows
well Nate it has been
a really
eye-opening time
talking to you and
learning more about that corner
of Massachusetts and just the things that
you've got going on
there and across the border
and I just want to make sure that
there wasn't anything else that you were
wanting to share as well before we started to wind on the episode.
Yeah, there's one weird idea that I've been thinking about.
One of my hobbies is I grow mushrooms, like forest grown mushrooms,
different gourmet pipes, oyster, shitaki, wine cap, that type of stuff.
So I'm often thinking about how amazing they are and, you know,
how they're somewhere, somewhere in between like an animal and plant,
you know, like in regards of how you care for them.
And I hear a lot of, a lot of people talking about,
mind speak, telepathy in some of their experiences.
and so one thing that I'd love to hear, you know,
maybe it's a question researchers start asking is, you know,
like when these minds speak or telepathy happen, you know,
what is the environment around you?
Like one of the things I think about is just the mycelium network, you know?
In the forest, there's so much fungi and that there's just a,
huge network underneath the ground and the air all around us where, you know, there's, there's a lot of communication happening with these different fungi. And, you know, there's even communicate plants, trees send out communication to themselves, you know, beach trees, asphid trees, all these things. They send out emergency responses when they feel threatened. And so, you know, like hearing where mindspeak telepathy is happening.
And then, you know, do you notice, is there mushrooms nearby?
Is there, you know, when you look at the ground, is it all mossy?
You know, are you in the middle of a very duffy leaf covered forest?
You know, where are these things occurring?
Because, you know, not that I don't believe in some of the wooish stuff out there,
but, you know, I'm looking for more logical explanations for, you know,
some of these experiences that people are having.
And, you know, I guess, you know, lover of sci-fi and X-Files and all these things.
Like, I don't know, I think there could be something there, you know,
that perhaps it's easier for those communications to happen, you know, in certain environments.
the person must be willing as well, right?
Yeah, that's true.
That's true.
I think that's a really interesting idea.
One I hadn't really thought of yet.
And I almost wonder if you would ask if the person that's experiencing it is also,
if they're taking any supplements that would contain mushrooms.
I wonder if that would affect things as well.
Right.
Lyons, main cordyceps, all the things that, you know, people are doing.
Absolutely.
even mushroom coffee and stuff.
There's something there.
I mean, it's such, once you get into that stuff,
it's so amazing how just even simple things,
you know, eating as part of your diet, you know,
helps your digestion, you know, it's curing,
not curing, but helping with dementia.
And, you know, some of these things that we don't really have cures for.
So, yeah, I think there's something there, but that's just me.
Yeah, I think we're at the point where there's a lot we don't understand yet,
and we need to make sure that we are not discounting or being frightened away from certain things in this field,
because we are labeling it as either Wu or.
oh, that's like, you know, to to ape like or ape or like really we should be, we should be looking at all the things that that people are experiencing during these encounters and and using that to, to see what is really going on here. I don't think we should, we've, we've been doing the witnesses a disservice so far. I think when we are throwing reports out because they're labeled a certain thing. I don't think.
That's right, but that's just me and my soapbox.
Agreed.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We need to do better.
Nate, it has been, it's been a fun time.
Keep me in mind if you continue to experience weird things out there or, you know,
when you're going out to these properties, I'd love to hear about it.
