You're listening to Bigfoot Society, and I'm Jeremiah Byron.
Tonight's account is from a mother who bought a mountain cabin in Crestline, California to help her son recover from a traumatic brain injury.
But what happened next is something that was not expected.
Pine cones began to appear.
Windows were left open.
And one night, her son cried out in terror.
This is Diana's story.
So stay with us.
All right, Bigfoot Society.
You've got the privilege of talking to Diana today.
Diana is an individual that reached out to me about a very interesting set of experiences that happened to her in her son out there in Crestline, California.
Welcome to the show today. Diana, how's it going?
It's going pretty good. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to tell you my story.
Absolutely. This is one where, well, I'm just going to say it is an extremely,
interesting account.
And I do want to make sure that Diana has all the time that she needs in order to share
it because it is a lot, a lot of detail to it.
So Diana, I'm going to go ahead and pass things over to you.
Feel free to take us back to really the beginning of your account.
And you're welcome to take it from here.
Okay.
So my name is Diana.
and I live in southern Utah now, but was born in Los Angeles,
and I grew up in a suburb in the 80s, about an hour drive south of Valley.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Legal Studies,
and I worked in the legal field and as a social worker.
My father emigrated to the U.S. in the 60s from Mexico,
and he married my mother right after she graduated from high school.
So she is Native American, and she lived her formative years on the reservation.
However, at 12 years old, she and her family moved to Los Angeles.
And my siblings and I were raised atheist because my dad was atheist,
so he didn't want us to grow up with religion.
However, my mom being native, we were raised with her beliefs and traditions.
and having been brought up with both sides of the family,
we grew up hearing about superstitions, ancestors, and ghosts, spirits.
We observed Dia de los Mertos, which is Day of the Dead traditions, et cetera,
you know, that kind of stuff.
And it was a blend of both cultures,
so I grew up in the existence of both worlds.
I had to keep these ideas and beliefs to myself growing up with what I call
regular American kids, sort of say.
So my son was born, the child of an older man, 12 years, my senior, someone that I had built
a strong, respectful partnership with, and co-parenting with him was very easy.
And when my son was born, I was living in a city in San Bernardino County with a safe
neighborhoods, excellent schools. They're known for their strong academic programs, and the
city's well-connected, making it easy to commute to Los Angeles and other parts of Southern
California. At six years old, my son was far more interested in nature than in playing with
other kids, like during Riesas, while other kids were playing on the black top of the field.
my son would linger at the edges, scanning the ground for what he called his treasures.
He was always searching for the perfect pebble, twig, leaf, all that kind of stuff.
He was into, like, textures, colors, the weight in shape of items.
And he would, like, meticulously examine insects, stuff like that.
That's the kind of kid he was.
He never minded being alone.
And when my son was eight years old, he was diagnosed with autism.
It used to be called Asperger's syndrome.
He had a high IQ but struggled with social skills.
At 12 years old, he towered head and shoulders above other classmates.
I think he was, I think he stopped growing out because he's currently 6'4, about 20 years old.
He's almost 20.
And he's always had a quiet demeanor, just a sweet personality, always shown a huge interest in nature.
math, science, how things work, why they function the way they do.
And around mid-2016, if I recall correctly, I bought a cabin in Crestline in Southern California.
And the town is in the San Bernardino Mountain.
It's below Arrowhead and Big Bear, if you're familiar with that area.
The town itself is small and tranquil, but it's about a 20, 25-minute drive down off the mountain
to the cities below.
Our home was on top of the hill
and was about 35 yards above a narrow
one-way road. And they had vertical sloping steps leading
to the entrance. The first level from the ground was
actually a walkout basement, meaning that it wasn't underground.
And then above that was the main living level
with a nice big porch in front of the part of the home.
and although the home had a dramatic sloping front yard my son's bedroom was situated on the back portion of the home
they had a flat fence backyard but his bedroom window was about 10 feet above the ground and i liked that
because it was it was high enough to where i felt that he was safe especially because we didn't have
air conditioning so in like in the summertime in the evenings we would just leave the bedroom windows open
to get that cool breeze that would cool the house down.
And then my bedroom window was situated towards the front of the home.
And looking out my bedroom window was the front wooden porch.
So that's our home.
And then there was a lot of huge pine trees on our lot and surrounding areas.
So my son particularly loved these huge pine cones.
The big pine cones weren't found on our pine cones.
property. We had to walk about maybe a half hour away from our cabin. We would go on nature walks
and these cones were called. Some people call them widow makers because as you can imagine,
they're huge and if they were to fall on someone, like from such a height, they could potentially
kill a person. So most of the time, we would find other different kinds of pine cones
in our yard.
And my son would keep all the nice ones and he would line them up on the porch railing.
And he had plans.
We were going to coat them with peanut butter and roll them in bird seeds so that we can hang them
for the birds and the squirrels to eat the seeds.
As summer passed, the new school year was approaching and I filled out all the school
forms that you usually do when the New Year's coming.
and I included our new address.
But because of our new address,
that placed us in a different school district.
And then I was informed that he could no longer attend the school there.
We were so upset because he was going to be uprooted from an environment he had gotten accustomed to.
He had a small circle of friends.
And then he was progressing in the therapy that they would provide in school.
even though the mountain schools had an after-school program,
I couldn't enroll him there because of the risk of snowfall
that would make the roads impassable
and then the risk of me not being able to pick him up.
So his father and I decided to enroll him at a school
in his school district that was closed to his father's home.
So he was to walk home after school
and then I would pick him up after work
and then we would make the drive up the mountain.
The city that his father lived in
is a predominantly Latino community.
There's a lot of poverty, gangs, violence.
I mean, some neighborhoods are nice and others struggled.
And the school my son had to attend,
had a lot of underfunded programs.
There were inexperienced new teachers,
there was limited resources and whatnot.
And at this school, my son was excluded from social
circles. He was bullied.
He didn't have any friends and this affected his personality.
It was very painful to watch.
One day when he was sitting in class, unaware, he was struck on the back of the head
with a blunt object.
He said he was in pain so bad that he vomited on the floor next to his desk.
and the teacher didn't show any empathy,
nor did she ask if he was okay.
She just sent him to the office unattended
where he ended up,
I'm sorry, this is hard to.
He ended up falling on the way to the office,
and he had a seizure.
But the janitor luckily saw him,
escorted him to the nurse.
And his father and I were called to the school,
and we immediately took him to the hospital.
and he suffered a concussion and after a follow-up appointment with a specialist,
we discovered he had a traumatic brain injury,
and this caused continued seizures,
and he missed about three months of school,
and then during this time,
he had a lot of doctor appointments,
so I took a leave of absence from work to take care of him.
we took advantage of this time to
to stay up in crest line as much as possible
but we couldn't go out for walks anymore
like we used due to his seizures
one day all his pine cones went missing
the ones that he had on the railing
and he was so upset that he had a complete emotional
breakdown on the porch
and then that turned into a seizure
and then I brought
Eventually when it stopped
I brought him inside
into the home
Eventually his seizures
became less and less frequent
because of the medication
he was taken
and also
He was just physically feeling better
But emotionally he wasn't
So we like I said
We stopped going on our nature walks
And stop looking for pine cones
As part of my morning ritual
I would go outside of my front porch to drink my morning cup of coffee
because I like to meet the fresh crisp morning air and sit there till the stillness of the mountains were filled with bird songs
and I'd like to see the sun come up. But one morning I found a huge pine cone on the porch railing
and you know we didn't have any of those type of pine trees on or near our property. So I wondered
how the pine cone got there. And then the next morning, another,
appeared. It had been placed exactly where the first one had been. And another, the day after,
day by day, does continue for about a week, if I recall correctly. There was a fresh, big pine cone
on the same spot. And I did, I wonder where these came from. Like, obviously someone was
leaving them there. So, but during this time that my son was healed,
a lot of odd things started to happen.
For example, like coming from the city,
I never really thought about trash day.
You know, you put your bins out at night the night before,
and then the truck rolls by in the morning and takes your trash.
But in the mountains, things weren't that simple.
Like my neighbor stopped me one afternoon
when I was willing my trash out and told me,
you know, unless I wanted to wake up to a mess,
Or worse, like bears or for me not to take my trash out until the day of pickup.
So I took his advice seriously.
Some evenings my son and I would sit on the porch listening to the crickets and the sounds of nature.
And, you know, we'd open all the windows to let the cool air come in.
And it was nice.
It was nice, except one day, one evening, it just smelled like something, like a musky scent, like a skunk smell or something.
It was pretty strong.
So we went and we closed all the windows because the smell was coming inside.
And so we closed all the windows.
And I just figured that was like some skunk out there or something.
and soon after I remember that night my son was asleep in his bedroom and I was in my room
and then he started calling my name like he had a nightmare so I ran over to his bedroom
to see to make sure that he was okay but when I crossed into his room it was really weird like
I felt like I was losing my footing.
I felt kind of dizzy.
And it, sorry.
And the sound sounded like it was muffled.
Kind of like when you're in underwater, like in a swimming pool.
And it sounds muffled.
That's what had happened.
That's what I would.
That's what happened.
So it was hard for me to focus and everything just seemed blurry.
And unsteady.
But I managed to get to him.
and I took him over to my bedroom.
And he was crying and all that.
And he told me that he saw a man looking in through his window.
This is Daniel Fischel.
And Ryder Strong from PodMeets World.

But he said it was like a gorilla,
but a man, and that he was gray,
and he had like a long goat tea.
I thought maybe he had dreamt that
because his dad had like a long gray goatee.
So I don't know.
I thought maybe he was dreaming that.
But the next day he told me all the details
and he insisted that it wasn't a man
that was looking in his window.
So I started wondering like if maybe it was like a peeping tom.
or, you know, but the way the houses were apart from each other, like all the cabins were like different elevations.
So it wasn't like a regular neighborhood, you know what I mean?
So that was one of the things that had happened.
Another was like sometimes we would be, before evening, we would sit on the chairs outside on the porch and just relax.
and sometimes we would have, I didn't want to say that there were rocks thrown at us
because it wasn't coming from an angle like if someone's throwing a rock at you.
It kind of seemed like little pebbles were just dropping from the sky onto the porch.
And none of them ever hit us.
It was just kind of weird that that would happen.
So I didn't really understand like where are these little pebbles coming from.
it was, you know, it was just kind of weird.
And I started questioning myself, was it like our imagination?
You know, was it like my mind playing tricks on me?
And it was just kind of weird.
But after my son started having nightmares,
I decided to buy a handgun to protect us
because it was just him and I up there in the mountains.
So I bought a small little 9mm.
handgun and I would keep it under my bed frame at night just in case I ever needed it.
And I don't know if I was, I felt like was I being paranoid or it was just weird, you know.
I was just afraid and I just thought, well, in case something happens, me being a single mom up there,
I just wanted to make sure that I could protect us if in case it came down to that.
I never
like showed it to him
I just would
sometimes we would start
going on little walks
started to go hiking again
and I would just carry it with me
like I know that you have to have a license
in California to carry it
but being up in the mountains
I just
did I just carried it as self-defense
It just made me feel like I wasn't as helpless.
So one day, one morning, I went outside to the front porch.
Like I said, I used to like to drink my coffee out there in the morning.
And I walked out there and that's when I saw it.
It was, I was on my porch.
was my coffee mug in my hand
and I looked down below
because our yard sloped down
and it was like
a
I should just happen so fast
I saw
a big foot
or a Sasquatch or whatever
you want to call it
he was about eight feet tall
he was massive but
lean, just muscular
but lean, but like thin,
I guess. He had a really broad chest
and just like a really wide shoulder blades,
wider than any person I've ever seen.
And he had long, thick hair.
It wasn't, it wasn't fur.
It looked like hair. It was like long and dark brown.
And it just took seconds like,
I kind of just stood there in shock.
And I just remember like my stomach muscles were shaking.
Like, you know, when you do a lot of sit-ups and I'm embarrassed to say this,
but I lost control of my bladder.
And in just seconds, just seconds, maybe he took three steps
and he just went down the property, like the front yard that sloped down,
It was 35 yards.
He just walked down and crossed the road and down that slope because across the side of the road,
there was like a slope that dropped down.
And then he was gone.
And I was just kind of like in shock.
It was just, I was afraid.
I was really scared.
and soon after I put the cabin up for sale
and my son and I moved to Arizona.
I had a long-distance boyfriend
and my son's father said it was okay for me to move out there.
Eventually he was going to get a job transfer
and move out to Arizona, which is what we did.
I was just afraid to live up there
anymore after what happened.
And we just went to go live in Arizona.
And he had to do seventh grade over again because he had missed on his school.
And then eventually he graduated from high school.
And now he's off, he went off to college after that.
And my then longtime boyfriend, we ended up getting married.
And of all places, we decided to move to southern Utah to a little town that's called Cedar City.
And it's pretty close to like Bryce Mountain.
We're pretty close to the mountains.
It's really beautiful up here.
Like we get all four seasons and, you know, we get snow, which is what I liked about living up in Crestline.
But we've driven through a place called Cedar Bray.
It's not far from here.
We've gone for walks, but I'll never go up there alone.
I don't think I can never go up for a nature walk up in the mountains,
knowing what could possibly be out there.
I never expected that over in San Bernardino Mountains.
And I just wonder, like, if these creatures are out in the mountains out here.
It just kind of messed it up for me
because I just, I can't go for walks like that anymore.
And my son's doing okay.
He's studying at UC Berkeley.
He's majoring in microbial biology.
And he took a big interest in that during the pandemic.
And eventually he wants to work for the CDC.
So he's gone off to pursue his education.
and, you know, eventually, recently we actually started talking about,
I brought up what had happened.
I've been keeping a journal, and he told me that he,
he doesn't really want to talk about what happened.
You know, he's already put that behind him, I guess, if you will.
Like, he's just, he doesn't want to go back there,
mentally. But he still says that that way he saw looking in the window was some kind of gray-haired
gorilla man with a goatee. Like he's never changed that story. He says that's exactly what he saw.
And that's it. Like he's not going to talk about it. He says that, you know, he feels like there's always,
a scientific explanation for everything and he doesn't like to he doesn't like that he can't
understand what it is that he saw I guess so um not too long ago a couple of summers ago
I went to Mexico to visit a cousin of mine to Bertha Vyarta and she took me to a medium
that also does hypnotherapy.
And when I went to go see her,
she wanted to start off with like meditation.
And she said that it was going to be like a guided meditation.
And she had like some sort of bowl, like a crystal bowl.
And she explained that these are used to create a calming sound
and promote like deep, you know, relaxation.
But these bowls create like a vibrational sound called a sound bat.
And so, but when she did that, it created like a really negative effect in me.
It triggered, it triggered like the memory of that time when I had rushed into my son's bedroom when that incident happened.
and it's that same sound that I heard and it's kind of hard to describe,
but that's the same sound that I heard, like that vibrational, that frequency.
So it kind of like just brought back a lot of negative feelings about that.
and then she also like did a before the hypnosis
she started telling me some unusual things
like she was telling me that
that thing that my son saw was an elder
of whatever these group of
I don't want to call them animals but
these creatures.
So she explained to me that
what we saw
happened because
they wanted us to see them,
not because
like it was
supposed to happen,
that they didn't mean any harm,
that the pine cones,
they were leaving the pine cones there for him,
that they saw his pain,
they could see what he had gone through
and his emotional
struggle. So I guess they were left their
like his gifts for him that they didn't mean to scare us or cause any harm.
But after she told me all that, then she put me in like a hypnosis.
And that's when she brought everything out like in detail after the initial meeting that we had
where she was telling me about these creatures.
I don't know.
It's just so much information.
I don't, and I'm sorry, I have ADD,
so I kind of go back and forth,
and I apologize for that,
but that's pretty much basically what happened.
I know you're doing absolutely great.
I mean, there's so much to this story, Diana,
this account is just incredible,
and there's a few things that I noticed,
and then maybe I'll bring up,
a few different parts that we'll discuss as well.
But to me, to me, this account is so unique because so talking to so many people over
the years, there are patterns that I've started to notice, right?
To do with witnesses that have had experiences.
One that has come up multiple times is the individual being autistic.
or having some connection to that, right?
Usually it's autistic individuals sometimes.
The other is, yeah, can be a very big thing.
Also, a lot of witnesses or people that have experience will have had a very traumatic event
just happened beforehand or before this situation.
And also, something that I've known.
noticed, and maybe not as much, but I have noticed it, is that there is a pattern with,
with TBI and traumatic brain injuries as well.
I never heard of that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that's, that's something where it's not even like out there.
I don't feel it's even out there in the Bigfoot community.
It's just something I've picked up from people that I've talked to and people that I've met.
Like the autism thing, that's kind of out in the community, right?
The traumatic, the trauma episodes, like, let's say an individual, like what happened to your son or an individual gets divorced or they have a loved one that passes away.
That's something I feel that's out in the community through different things that have been written.
However, TBI might not be there as prevalent yet.

So the interesting thing is that these three different things are present in this one account.
which is very, very extremely unique.
I did want to clarify something.
So were you saying that when the sound bath was happening,
when this individual was doing the sound bath
and you were trying to go through hypnosis,
etc.
Were you saying like the frequency or the tone
was similar to what you experienced in your son's room
that day?
Yes.
So before we started with the,
not the hypnosis,
because first she told me
all these things like a medium,
but then she said, okay,
we're going to do hypnosis
and we're going to do the sound bath.
And so that frequency,
that vibrational sound
was pretty much what I had heard,
but louder.
It was so loud in my head.
Like, it
it was so loud that it made like my teeth rattle if that makes sense.
But at the same time, at the same time, like all other sound,
like my son crying, calling my name, it sounded muffled.
Like when you're underwater like in a swimming pool, I don't know if you've ever done that.
And you hear outside noise, but outside of the pool, but it's muffled.
It was like that.
But yet that vibrational sound.
that just got louder and louder in my head.
Then that's what triggered my, it was like a bad reaction.
Oh, exactly.
Yeah.
And the way that you explain that is a really good,
I think that's a really good way to explain it
because I've experienced it myself
and the only way that I have been able to explain it
is that it's almost like the pressure in your ears
gets different, but the way that you're saying how it's like it's muffled, you're underwater,
that's the exact, exact thing.
Be curious if other people have experienced that as well, but like when I was out in Oregon
this last summer, it's exactly what would happen when we were out in the woods.
And I think that's extremely interesting.
What you heard that day during the sound bath and in your son's room,
Have you experienced that in any other life experiences as well,
or has that just been in those two times?
No, that's never happened, just only with that situation in Crestline.
And I had never done yoga or gone to a,
because that lady, even like my cousin says,
she's a medium and she does, like, hypnosis.
her place she seemed kind of like
like new age
like her she had like a little shop
and she sold crystals
and it just to me it seemed like she was
she had like different
like she had yoga she had Indian
like Hindu Indian stuff
there like a little bit of everything
so
my first impression was like
she's a fake
you know
because she's drawing from all these different cultures
is what I thought.
But my cousin insisted.
And I said, all right, okay, well, let's see what happens.
And I hadn't told my cousin about the Sasquatch thing, the Bigfoot thing.
It was just she had gone to this medium before.
And she says, oh, I think it'll be fun if we go there.
And that's how I ended up there.
But like I had never done any like new age stuff.
that's interesting and i wonder if that is related somehow to like what your upbringing was you know how you were
was like half you had that half uh influence from uh the atheism side i guess also the native american side
but um i can kind of see how you may have that that way of looking at things after that experience
with the hypnotist,
did you have a different viewpoint
towards that individual,
or was it still the same?
It changed.
It changed because
before the hypnosis,
she was acting like,
in her medium capacity,
and the things that she was telling me about,
I hadn't told her.
I didn't tell her about
the creature
that had looked inside my son,
window, but yet she described, she called it a person. She didn't say it was a thing or creature.
She said the person that looked in his window, the gray-haired one with the beard, you know,
was concerned about my son. And that she also mentioned that what I saw, although she didn't
mention the color, but she said that what I saw, that unfortunately, like, it caused trauma
in me, but that it was meant to happen, that they only show themselves to, not to everybody.
So that that's what made me feel like, okay, this lady's not, she's not like a fake, you know,
because where would she get this information from?
Like I hadn't told my cousin.
I hadn't really told anybody other than my son's father
and then now my husband.
So that's when I thought, okay, so she's somehow,
she's got this information and just told me what she did.
So then when she said, we're going to do a sound bath,
she explained what that was,
and then she was going to do hypnosis at that point.
I was okay with, I was game.
You know, like, all right, let's see.
Let's see what happens only because of what she had previously told me.
So then I was, I was willing to do this, it knows this thing.
I know that there are sometimes when you were at the cabin without your son, correct?
Yes, because he would spend every other weekend with his dad.
Or sometimes during the time when we were.
staying there for three months while he was healing.
There were times where he'd spend a week with his dad,
and that was just alone, home alone.
Were there any other things that would happen when you were at the cabin yourself,
but there were things that would happen that would be kind of weird
or just didn't really make sense?
Yeah, a couple of times where I felt, I felt a little scared or an easy.
especially like say in the evenings I would sit out there and I'd hear the crickets and there's also like nightbirds which I'm living in the city I never really paid attention to this kind of stuff but up in the mountains in the evening you hear birds you know and sometimes I would just feel all of a sudden I felt nervous or like my stomach muscles would start to shake.
like that I don't know what you call it but I think it's just like my instinct
that a lot of people especially living in a big city
we tend to not listen to our body right
and everything would all of a sudden get quiet
like dead quiet no crickets nothing at all
and that's where I would feel nervous
like with you know this didn't seem
natural, I guess.
So I would just quickly
rush into the cabin and
shut all the windows, lock everything
up.
That kind of stuff happened.
Yeah, I want to talk for a few minutes
about your actual sighting,
if that's all right.
Yeah.
So you actually were able to get
a pretty good look at
the face
of the Sasquatch, correct?
I did.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
What you saw that day, have you seen anything else that comes close to what you were looking at?
Kind of like a gorilla, but the nose wasn't like a gorilla's nose.
It seemed like you had like a, not as flat, like a gorilla, like a bridge.
and he had like these really high eyebrow,
like the structure of the face.
And his mouth seemed more like a person's lips,
like full lips, not quite like a gorilla.
Gotcha.
Yeah, that's the best description.
Were you able to see its teeth at any time?
No, I had its mouth closed.
It was just, I know.
know it happened in just seconds, but like when I sit here, like, if I close my eyes and I
replay it in my mind, I can see its face and his mouth was close. I say he, I don't know
if it was a he or she, but it just, I say he, but its mouth was closed. And I just remember
like the lips were kind of like, kind of cool. Okay.
The eyes, were they eyes where they were all one color or were there whites around the edges of the eye as well?
No, completely black or dark, no whites to the eyes.
Dark eyes.
Completely dark eyes, wow.
Was there any emotion that you could see to the face at all?
No, we just stared at each other.
for that split second.
Because I walked out the front door onto my porch
and right where I would normally lean on the railing.
So I had my coffee mug and I looked down.
That's when we just, our eyes locked.
And I feel like my brain couldn't register
what I was looking at.
And that's when I dropped my coffee mud and then I just lost control of my bladder, you know.
I just was in shock.
And it just like turned around and just, I want to say like three steps, went down the sloping, the sloping yard across the narrowed road and then down.
And that was it.
and I noticed like it's it it didn't have fur it was like hair like silky not like a dog hair not like dog fur yeah
you also mentioned where you didn't get any feeling as to if it was male or female is that because of how it was covered with hair or
Yeah, it was fully covered
So I couldn't tell what it was
I just I feel like it was a male
But I don't know why I feel that
It could have been a female for all I know
Now I know you only saw it for just a few seconds
And just a few steps as it went down your property
Did you notice anything
That was out of the ordinary
about the way that it moved, like its gate,
as opposed to how a human would move?
Yeah, he seemed very, like, sure-footed.
I would say whenever, like, my son and I would go down,
like, if we were to walk down the yard, down the yard,
not through the steps, you would, because you're going down,
I feel that we would have to be very careful to not slip.
And it just seemed very sure-footed.
Just one step after, it just happened like he had like,
didn't worry about slipping or anything.
It just walked down.
That's really interesting.
A lot of people will say something to the effect of that
where it's like walking with purpose or, you know,
very sure of how they're walking.
Did you notice anything about the posture?
of what you were looking at?
No other than
they had long arms.

How long?
I remember that.
Like, not like a person, like below the knees or something.
It was just long.
Oh, wow.
Kind of like Chubacca.
Okay.
I know that's, you know, like the long arms.
Sure.
Kind of like that.
Yeah.
And it wasn't making any noise during this whole time?
No.
Okay.
It was completely quiet.
Did the head have a particular shape to it?
Not that I can, not that I can recall.
Gotcha.
Gotcha.
How close was your closest neighbor in this area?
Probably about 40 yards away.
Oh, okay.
Gotcha.
Pretty far.
Yeah.
Not like a regular neighborhood.
Because the different house.
houses were different elevations.
Like my front yard sloped down more than my neighbor's yard.
Where it was just the placement.
I had sent you my address because what I did recently, I went on to Google Maps,
and I put in the address.
And you know how you can kind of seem like the, they have pictures of the roads.
and you can kind of walk through there and turn it and see the property and all that.
I don't think you, I don't think you received it.
I'm actually looking at right now.
Oh, yeah, wow.
You had neighbors all over the place.
Mm-hmm.
Interesting.
Okay.
But the houses weren't that close to each other.
And then if you, so if you did that.
Google Maps from that narrow road and you could see how high up my house was, how it slopes up.
And then from the road, you can see on the other side, it just slopes down and you can see way down below is another road.
Because it's winding. It winds up the mountain. So it walked down my front yard and across the road,
and disappeared.
Like, I think he continued walking down across the road.
And I don't, I mean, it's a pretty big drop.
Oh, okay.
So you, this is very interesting.
So you're pretty much up in the mountains, but you're also very close to a mountain lake as well.
Yes.
It was about a five-minute,
maybe a three-minute drive to Lake Gregory.
The first time I said and I went there after we moved,
we walked there, and then we soon realized that was a big mistake
because walking back up to the cabin was all uphill.
So after that, we would just drive there
because it was just too much of a walk.
Absolutely. Oh, man. Yeah. I think...
Oh, and another time.
There's also a dog park by that lake.
Okay. Yep. Yep.
And so I had two Boston Terriers.
And one time when we took them there to the dog park so they could run around because it's all gated and all that.
And they were always indoors.
so I didn't, you know, leave him outside.
And when he would go spend a weekend with his dad, the dogs went with him.
So anyhow, we were at the dog park one time before all this had happened.
And the dogs were just having a good old time, you know, we're doing balls and all that.
And all of a sudden, they just ran to us and they were scared.
They were scared.
And they were like between our legs.
And I thought that was really weird.
You know, so in retrospect, I sometimes wonder if these things were watching us, maybe.
Yeah, that was another incident that I couldn't really, like, explain.
Yeah, that kind of behavior from dogs really, really makes you wonder.
That's another pattern that you will hear as well.
Oh, so during that time,
or maybe afterwards, did you do any research to see if other similar accounts had happened in that area or if there had been other sightings as well?
I did.
So it turns out, after all this I had done research, it turns out there was a lady.
I'm trying to remember her name.
Claudia Ackley.
Yes.
And she had been on the news.
I guess she said she saw her Bigfoot in Crestline and had shown some pictures on the news.
And I did look them up online and it's kind of hard to see what it was that she saw.
But apparently there was one up in the trees that she was with her daughters and she recorded.
or her daughter's recorded
and she filed a lawsuit against
who was it
the department was a government agency
I'm going to be going off of
info from a newspaper
article here and she had filed
against the California Department of Fish and Wildlife
in the state Natural Resources Agency
in 2018
okay yeah that's what it was
and I saw the video
I think you can look it up online
I saw the video
it's kind of hard to tell
I can kind of see there was something up
in the tree
but
you know it's kind of blurry
but yeah she filed a lawsuit
and I thought to myself
well okay
that means that there's others
up there somewhere
and possibly
other people had seen them
and probably like me
you know won't say anything
for fear of someone thinking
they're crazy
you know
but it kind of made me feel like okay
I didn't we didn't imagine
this really did happen
and
I actually felt better knowing that
that she had filed a suit and all that
so she wasn't embarrassed
she went up
on the news
those.
Absolutely.
Claudia's, she was an individual I never got to talk to.
She has also, she also passed away due to cancer, I believe.
Yeah, yeah.
I read that she had passed away.
Absolutely.
It's actually, so why would, you know,
This story, it's a very, this account is a very personal one.
You know, there's a lot of, you know, personal details and what your son went through.
But I think it's good that you shared everything as it all has to be heard together.
But, you know, why was it important that you shared this account?
Is there a reason why you felt it was necessary to get it all?
out there. Because I feel like if there's other people that have seen these, I just kind of want
people to know that, that they do exist. And I honestly didn't really know much about Big Floater
Sasquatch. When I started doing my research and came across Claudia's story, and then your
podcast came up on a Google search.
So that's when I,
that's when I downloaded Spotify onto my phone.
And I was able, and I only heard a few of your podcast episodes.
And then I stopped because it was just like bringing back too much of it for me.
You know.
So, but yeah, thanks to your platform.
I was able to realize that it's happened to other people and I was able to speak my truth, you know.
That's great.
I mean, that is, that is an awesome example of, you know, the reason why I do this show is so that people like yourself have a platform to share with the experience and not have to worry about, you know, being ridiculed or.
or, you know, thinking, is this a safe environment or not?
This is definitely a safe environment to do so.
A few questions for yourself at the end here.
It's one I didn't get to ask earlier.
During the time when you were in that cabin,
did anything weird happen inside the cabin,
or was it mainly outside?
Nothing like paranormal or anything out of the ordinary
like that inside the residence?
No.
Nothing.
Nothing paranormal.
And you mentioned earlier, you're in Utah now, correct?
Yes, we moved.
We lived in, my son and I had moved to Arizona and I remarried.
And after he, when it came close to his high school graduation, he decided he, he wanted
to go to university in California.
and then my husband and I were just tired of the heat.
So we decided to move.
We get four seasons here.
And we're pretty close to Bryce Canyon.
It's really beautiful up here.
After you left that residence,
did anything out of the ordinary follow you to your other new residences
or it feels like you left everything out there in Crestline?
I think it was all left behind in Crestline,
especially living in Arizona,
in a regular suburban neighborhood,
out in the desert,
I wasn't afraid that, you know,
anything like that would show up there.
You know, there's nothing but cactus
and it's just, you know, far away from the mountains.
Absolutely.
If there is someone listening to this
has had an experience
happened to them related to Bigfoot,
they're not quite sure what they should do with it.
Do you have any advice to that person
that might be listening?
Just to not doubt themselves,
that self-doubt, you know,
just, you know,
it's happened to other people,
these encounters,
and it's probably not just, you know, in your head.
But it's okay, you know, you'll be okay.
Absolutely.
Diana, I want to make sure that you were able to share everything that you had,
that you had wanted to share on the show today.
Yeah, there's another, I recently asked my son, you know,
hypothetically, because he uses that word hypothetically,
what he thought Bigfoot or Salsquatch might be, you know,
if they truly existed.
And I only say hypothetically or if they truly existed because he's very grounded in science
and logic and rational analysis.
And like I said, he doesn't only like to talk about it.
I think it just makes him so uncomfortable because he's very science-based, you know.
And he's told me, well, you know, if they exist, they could be a combination of folklore,
or maybe they're misidentified, and there's something else.
He mentioned, you know, there's always blurry photos.
There's never like a clear photo of one.
So unless because lack of concrete physical evidence, he says that, you know, maybe that there's a possibility that they would exist, but maybe it's something that hasn't really quite been discovered.
You know, where my idea of what a soft wedge is, is that I feel like,
maybe they're multi-dimensional or
I don't feel
that it's a creature that hasn't
quite been discovered
you know as elusive as they can be
there's got to be a way to where
they
they hide or they
I don't feel like they're like
a regular animal
you know
I feel like there's more to it
than that
and then I go so he's we've talked
about like, okay, so why hasn't anyone found any of their bones? Like, do they buried their dead? And
I feel like maybe they bury their dead in some location where, you know, we can't really get to.
Maybe up in the, you know, maybe they're buried somewhere that people can't usually go to so they
haven't been, you know, discovered any, as far as any remains, you know? But he just pretty much says,
well, there's got to be a scientific explanation for this.
It is really interesting to have that back and forth.
And, you know, you hear so many accounts.
And, you know, there's some where what the person encounters,
they're 100% sure it's some undiscovered ape down in Oklahoma.
But then you have all these tons of accounts where, you know,
whatever this creature or, you know, whatever the Sasquatch is doing, it's doing some really, really weird stuff that science cannot explain. And it'll be interesting to see if we ever get those answers. Um, someday myself personally, I kind of take the middle ground where I think, you know, we could be looking at some kind of physical creature that can do a lot, a lot of really weird stuff that, uh, normal science cannot explain yet.
There's just too many accounts from witnesses sharing things that could be considered paranormal, but I just don't think we really know what we're dealing with yet.
But Diane, I would just want to say thank you for reaching out to me and for sharing your story.
It's an incredible account.
And I'm so glad that you were able to come on the show and to share what you experienced those years ago out in.
California.
Well, thank you for the opportunity to share
as well.
I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you for listening to this
episode of the Bigfoot Society podcast. Diana's
story is the kind that stays with you, not just because
of what she saw on that sloping yard
and crest line, but because of the quiet strength she
carried through trauma, fear, and the
unknown. So huge thanks to
Diana for opening up and sharing
such an emotional and personal journey.
