Bigfoot Society - Elk Hunters Terrorized by Aggressive Bigfoot Clan | Oregon
Episode Date: September 5, 2025What happens when an Oregon hunter realizes the monster outside his childhood bedroom window wasn’t a nightmare — but something far more real? In this chilling episode, we sit down with TW, a life...long outdoorsman who has spent decades in the forests of Southern Oregon. TW recounts the night in 1972 when a red-eyed, long-haired figure stared through his window — and the decades of encounters that followed in the Prospect wilderness. From tent stakes pulled from the ground, pinecones hurled with deadly force, and terrifying whoops echoing through the trees — to hunters abandoning camps near Diamond Lake and Union Creek after relentless harassment — TW’s stories will make you question what’s really stalking Oregon’s elk herds. You’ll hear about drag marks through gravel roads, mysterious footprints, eerie vocalizations, and even a chrome cylinder too heavy to move that vanished overnight. More than just campfire tales, these firsthand experiences paint a violent and unsettling picture of a predator that doesn’t want to be found. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to come face-to-face with the unknown in the Oregon backcountry, this episode will stay with you long after the sun sets.

TW is a hunter in the great state of Oregon. And we got connected as TW's got a very interesting experience to share.
he's been in the state for quite a long time.
But welcome to the show, T.W. How are you doing today?
Doing really well.
Fantastic.
You were saying before the show that this is something that has stuck in your mind over the years.
So I want to make sure that we're going to pass things right over to you so you can share with us what you experienced that day.
and then we'll have a chat about it afterwards there.
Okay.
This happened in Southern Oregon.
I believe it might have been at the end of the summer of 1972.
I was about eight or nine years old at the time.
The house was vacant for quite a while when my mom and dad bought it.
They came up from a vacation from Southern California.
and they came up and bought the house knowing that they had to go and sell their house before we can move up.
In the meantime, the house was vacant.
There was a lot of tall grass, regular deer were there every day, saw raccoons, skunks, mice, bugs, all that kind of stuff.
I meant just, it was pretty run down.
Five acres.
It was pretty close to the mountains.
And there wasn't very many houses around us.
And when we first bought the house, I was just a one bedroom, one bath house.
And my dad immediately started adding on a master bedroom.
for him and my mom.
And it was already built when this incident happened.
I was sleeping in the same bedroom as my two sisters, my two older sisters.
And they were on the each side of a door that had a window that went to the outside.
and I was on the opposing side of the room in my own bed, but I could see the window clearly.
And basically the night in question, I know that the windows were closed.
So it's probably, it was, that's what makes me think that it was probably later in the summer
because we usually keep the windows open.
And the windows were closed.
And the door that has the window panes has three steps to go down, so it was elevated.
And if you were standing next to these steps, it would probably be, imagine seven to eight foot,
that if you were standing next to it, if you were able to look in the window.
Somebody regularly would not be able to do that.
They would have to be on the steps.
and so night, middle of the night, something woke me up.
I don't know why.
I was kind of, I remember wondering why did I wake up because it was usually no reason.
And I don't know if something hit the house or what.
But I was kind of looking, you know, from my bed to the window that has the door.
the head of the door that had windows.
And I saw some long hair that went by.
And it reminded me of skunk hair.
And I was like, I was like that made no sense to me at all.
You know, seeing reckons of skunks practically every day.
Why would a skunk be way up there, you know, unless somebody was holding it, you know,
and there's nobody around our property.
So, you know, so I was just kind of like staring at the window, like, wonder what that was.
And next thing I know it, there's a face, a big hairy face looking right at me.
A lot of hair, dark brown, and the eyes seemed to glow red.
And I just was pretty much immediately shocked.
I don't know what was looking at me.
I've never seen anything like it
and I did see
I have seen buried before too
and it didn't look like anything like that
and I immediately jumped into
the bed of one of my sisters
and told her that there was a monster outside
and she's like what
and I said yeah there's a monster outside
a big monster looking at me in the window
and she knew I was scared.
She knew that I was not, you know, she, you know, she tried to say, well, did you have a bad dream?
I said, no, I was awake.
And I said, no, there's something outside.
And I was adamant about it.
And she goes, well, you need to go, you know, tell dad.
And I remember I didn't want to.
I was underneath the covers and I didn't want to.
I was scared.
I was probably in, you know, definitely a state of shock.
And then I, you know, I got out really quick and I ran to my dad's bedroom and I told him and he said, you know, he just tried to dismiss it because he wanted to go back to sleep.
I'm pretty sure he had to go to work the next morning.
And he just said, you know, he was like, I was a bugging him, you know.
And he was like, ah, it's probably a deer, you know, I was like, yeah, there can't be a deer that can do what that did, you know.
And he's like, he goes, well, you know, you can sleep in here.
But I'm not going to get up.
I'm not going to look around.
But that's all, you know, I'm not going to.
So we just, that was it.
And I went to sleep with my mom and dad that night, the rest of the night.
And the next day, went out looking for footprints.
And there wasn't because the ground was really hard.
It hasn't rained for quite a while.
So it was definitely some time in the summer.
And I think we heard, like, a week later, that rate up the road, actually, into the mountains,
it was a granite pit.
And somebody saw it running, they said, a big foot that ran through the granite pit the week after.
And I said, oh, that must have been what was looking at me.
It was a big foot.
I didn't know what a Bigfoot was.
This was 1972.
You know, there was nothing on TV that was anything like it.
And I'm pretty sure it was before any kind of, you know, any kind of thing on TV was about Bigfoot.
So I didn't know what Bigfoot was.
So that's what made me think, you could have, you know, definitely matched the description.
And, you know, it makes sense that I would kind of, you know,
back there, down away, well, there was a lot of deer, but the house was vacant for quite a while.
So I imagine it was probably, you know, somewhat of a regular, you know, that's probably something
that they do come on that part of the property because the house was vacant. I don't know.
Seems to me like it was at least like nine months. It was vacant. So, you know, probably showed up
there, you know, on a regular basis. So that's, and that, that's, and that, that's, and that,
And ironically thing is I live about three miles away from that location on the same side of the mountain.
So, and I'm a little bit farther away from the woods.
But I see deer.
There's deer quite a bit on the property of Matt right now.
So, yeah.
So, you know, there's still a lot of wilderness that's not too far away from where,
this happened.
So, but that's, that's basically it.
That is, that is so very interesting.
I definitely have a few questions for you about your sighting.
When you said skunk hair then, are you also referring to the color of it?
Yeah, it was more, it was more black here, but it was basically the, the way that skunk here out, how long it is.
and that's what, you know, when I first saw it, that's what I first saw, the long, the long hair that, yeah, there's that, I'm just trying to remember if there might have been a light out there that could have been, it could have been the moon, but I saw clearly, when I first saw, I saw long hair go by the window and it just reminded me of skin care.
It was
It was just
It was definitely dark in color
But it was kind of like the almost like the texture
You know
How long
How long that hair is and how the texture is
That's what it reminded me of
Gotcha
You said you saw the eyes glowing red as well
Were you able to see the eyes themselves too
Or did the red eye glow kind of
overpower that.
Just the red eye glow, because it was dark enough where I could barely see a face.
It was kind of like a, and it was kind of like an emotional face that, but I did see the eyes,
but it didn't make any expressions at all when I, when it saw me and I saw, you know,
I know that I've screamed.
And it did, it kind of reminded me, I would say, of orangutan type face.
it was kind of like big like that and and and um emotionless it was just uh um it was looking at me
and so i don't you know if i was the guess i would say it was a female looking at the pictures
of orangutan uh faces um they definitely are very interesting you know the males have um almost like
the goatee at the bottom, they have like the large,
fleshy area around the sides of the face.
Did it have anything like that that would have made you say,
okay, this kind of looks like an orangutan?
It just had a big face.
And, you know, it took up a lot of a window.
And it was, like I said, it was like emotionless.
There was just no emotion.
that it was, I guess, maybe if anything, curious,
but it was just like, you know,
it was just looking straight at me.
You know, it was like looking, you know,
right at me.
And, you know, I think, you know,
maybe it was, you know, it was looking in,
but immediately caught, you know,
me looking at it, you know.
Sure.
So, you know, so like I said,
something woke me up.
And maybe it might,
have, you know, hit the side of the house or something, but yeah.
Do you remember anything specifically about the nose that you saw on its face?
I would say it looked flat.
Okay.
Gotcha.
Were the eyes close together in proximity or wide apart?
No.
Wide apart.
Okay.
Imagine you're looking at the face and the lower part of the nose and then kind of
the top part of the lips, how much of a space is between those two things?
I couldn't remember that much, but I do remember the flat nose.
And I didn't see any kind of movement with the mouth.
There was no movement, so I really couldn't tell where all that was.
But I did see the nose in the eyes.
And I couldn't see the bottom of his chin because I was taking up.
It was almost like it was almost like it was crouched down to look in.
And so it crossed down where the eyes could, eyes and the nose can definitely look into.
But I don't remember even seeing the mouth.
Gotcha.
Did you notice anything about, could you see the hair on the top of the head at all?
No.
It was so long that it went beyond that.
And I saw, you know, I saw, I saw hair sticking out, sticking out from the sides quite a ways.
You know, it was like, I guess you would say matted hair.
Okay.
Very interesting.
Do you ever remember anything else weird showing up around the house at that time,
were there ever any items left or animals that were missing or that were killed in the area or maybe trees that looked weird?
see you know that's one of the things that you know we had we had a whole bunch of oak trees
and some big oak trees and um but um i don't remember anything happening to the oak trees
we would have branches that would fall off from time to time um we would uh um we had chickens
that that were they disappeared so we'd have you know if we had fit to
15 to 20 chickens.
We go in there sometimes
it'll be 18, you know,
and so we just, you know,
but we also let them free range.

You know, so it was possible that they can go to another property.
You know, that was a property
that was behind us, that was a, had a barn, and that's possible that, you know, they could have
went there. So, didn't find, you know, any kind of, I don't remember seeing any kind of feathers
anyway. They just, they just went missing. And it wasn't, you know, it wasn't that big of a deal
because my, my mom and dad just to keep on getting more chickens. It wasn't like that, you know,
Like, you know, a couple of just, a couple of, couples gone.
Hopefully they'd come back, and sometimes they do it.
They wouldn't come back.
Sometimes they would.
Is this a thing that you ever talk to, let's say, your sisters or your father at a later time when you're, you know, you're grown up, you're an adult?
Did you guys ever have a discussion about this event?
Yes.
I talked to my sister, and she said that she thought that I was just having a bad dream.
She didn't, you know, she wasn't about to look out the window or nothing, but she just thinks that it was just me.
I was eight and nine years old, so it had been a bad dream, you know.
So she just, she doesn't chalk it up as, and she just, she just discounts everything because she just fills it.
She just puts it in a bad dream.
She doesn't, she's a type of person that does want to believe in something like Bigfoot.
Interesting.
Was there ever anything reported in that?
house or around it that could be considered a paranormal activity or anything weird?
No.
Okay.
No.
You mentioned that there's not, or how about that, would you, how far away would you say it was the closest neighbor for you guys and you can just be approximate on it?
Well, well, we had a neighbor that was their barn was, you know, right behind our barn.
So that was, you know, that's probably a quarter mile away.
Their house was actually closer to another road, but the barn was closer.
We had another neighbor that was probably, he was probably about 500 yards away.
His house was just a, but it was kind of secluded.
that he had a big guard in between us.
And so we didn't really, you know, see much of him.
We had another neighbor and had a big farm.
That was on the other side of us.
They had cows and horses.
And we'd actually go over and get fresh milk from them.
But that was probably, you know,
Probably a block away.
Did you ever hear anything making strange noises or anything weird sounding in the woods?
In the woods around that house?
Yeah, yeah.
No, not, no.
Gotcha.
Were there any ever conversations with neighbors about, hey, yeah, we heard some, had some weird stuff happen too,
or did it not really come up ever?
Well, I actually, actually,
I actually talked to that one neighbor
and had the big farm.
They had a boy that was,
he was kind of,
you would say that he's kind of,
would do pranks.
And I said,
and I asked him,
I said,
hey, you know,
did you put a,
did you put a mask on and come to our window?
And he's just like,
no,
he goes,
I would never do that.
And,
you know,
so,
um,
so I did,
I did, you know, we did ask them about that, but they never said anything about, you know,
I never, you know, it was actually those, you know, the type of thing that, you know, got to be a point
where I didn't want to talk to too many people about it.
I just asked them about that.
I said, well, something showed up our window, and he said, oh, that's weird, but he didn't, you know,
he didn't say anything else about it.
Why would you feel important to come forward now with what happened to you that day?
because I see that it's a regular, it's one of the regular things that Bigfoot do.
They do like the peek in windows.
You know, whenever I see a story that's like mine, I was like, you know, I gravitate to it.
Because a lot of the same similarities.
You know, I've seen one where, you know, there's a definite face in a window that shows pictures.
That face looks a lot more menacing than what that was,
that was looking in my window.
Like I said, that's why I feel that it was probably a female
because it wasn't menacing.
It was more like, like I said,
I had a blank stare, you know, emotionless.
It was kind of like curiosity, you know,
you know, more on the curious side.
Absolutely.
Did this affect you in any ways growing up
as a young child or high school or or anything like that well made me more aware that that i because i you know
that that that became you know from a not only a believer but a knower uh so it made me more
aware of that there's something else out there because i i i knew when i saw when i thought that that was
real and that's something I've never seen before.
Have you ever experienced anything out of, or have you ever experienced anything strange
when you've been out hunting?
Absolutely.
Okay.
Is that anything that you would be able to share also in this interview?
Sure, sure.
You know, I can, there's an area that's, I would say it's by Prospect, Oregon.
We've been hunting it for this area for 40 years.
It's probably 50 square miles of wilderness that we know it very well.
It's mostly known for elk hunting.
I've got some deer off of there.
I got an elk off of this area, and my dad got a deer.
as well.
And we had,
there's definitely,
there's definitely things that happen.
One in particular,
we were camping off of a road
in a wall tent.
And
basically we're at the bottom of a road
that you have to hike into over three miles.
That's hike only you can't drive.
But it's an
old skid road and it goes into an air a very interesting area and we found we found um um
elk bones back there um not like uh like something you know not a hunter not a hunter
would would would would uh leave those leave the rib the rib bones on all that kind of stuff
um so we found we found lots of lots of different bones up there um
Never really had much.
We really, really had much go on before.
But this, our first instances was in the middle of the night, we heard a big whoop.
It was a real hype.
I say when you listen to a howl or monkey, it sounded a lot like a holler monkey.
And I knew, and I meant we were really tired.
and it woke me up out of a cold sleep.
And it was definitely, you know, indicating that it knows that we were there.
And my thinking was when that happened, not only was it a primitive, it was primitive, but I felt that it was kind of on the younger side because of how high it had a, it had a high wolf.
and
so that was one of the
things that happened also
we found some of the tent stakes
were pulled up
at when we went to go
pack so they came
right behind the wall tent
were pulling stakes
there's no
hunters around there
it's a pretty remote area
and one time my dad
was
He was on the same, you know, he was actually farther away.
It's probably at least three to five miles away.
And he went into this area and he was leaning against a tree.
I think he was laying down leaning against a tree.
And a pine cone goes flying past them.
And it's not, I said it wasn't just a pine cone.
It was a silver-tip pine cone that was hard.
And it probably weighed about, probably weighed at least a half a pound.
and I thought we found it
we found it the next weekend
and it was hard
and if it would hit my dad's head
he probably would have knocked him out
but it went past his head
it didn't go drop down
it was thrown
and when my dad said he got up
and was wondering if it was me
or something that why wouldn't
you know something somebody was messing with him
he thought and he turned around
he saw a black figure go into the woods and just crashing and going away, you know, so.
But we had, we had other encounters and hunters in that area also we talked to that had encounters as well,
things thrown at them, you know, when they're sitting around the campfire and stuff.
And another thing that's very interesting is like there's barely any elk up.
there anymore. It's almost like they wiped out the population. My thinking is that it's at least
a family and the population has completely changed. It used to be a real hot El Cunning area and you
could go up there now and with no problem and get a cast spot the night before El Cunning
and that was never the case. So it really changed the dynamic of the area. And it really changed.
in the last 20 years.
That is extremely interesting.
It reminds me
of something I heard
last year at Oak Ridge.
In Oregon, I had
a few elk hunters tell me that
they showed me on a map.
They're like these areas
where all the Bigfoot sightings and stuff are.
That's where all the elk are.
And it's almost like they will follow
the elk herds around
and you can almost track it.
So it's extremely interesting
that you would bring that up.
That, the situation with your dad getting that thrown at him and then having the visual, did that change how he, how he thought of the subject then?
Or how was he after that?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, he definitely said that I don't think he will hunt alone anymore after that.
and he used to be a regular, you know, well, I'm going to hunt alone for a couple days and then you can come up from work and then we'll meet up.
Well, he won't do that anymore.
Sure.
What approximate year would that have been when you guys had the tent stakes pulled up and your dad had that situation happen?
Let's see.
I'm trying to think we had a tent trailer.
I'm sorry, we didn't.
I'm sorry, that was a wall tent.
I'm sorry, it's a wall tent.
Yeah, that reminds I did have another instant as well.
But that would probably be, that would probably have been 30 years ago.
Gotcha.
But we also have something else to happen.
My uncle came up from L.A.
And he came up with a sound recorder.
And he came up, this area was on a high.
elevation area, this camp.
And there was another camp that was kind of up the road, probably about a mile away from us.
That was about the closest.
And so the night before, I was in a tent trailer, so I can hear everything.
and he had his recorder put on the hood of the truck,
so they'd record anything that's walking around or anything.
And the next morning, I told him, I said, I heard two knocks.
I heard two knocks.
I was not too far away from here.
And sure enough, well, he found those three.
And so that night, he decides to start making Bigfoot howls and everything,
and my dad didn't like him really doing that.
He goes, I really don't like it, them to come visit us.
And that, that, so I was woke up at 3 o'clock in the morning
with a very loud, deep Tarzan call.
And I was like, whoo!
It was like, really, I meant to, and when I heard it,
I was like, there's only one thing to come.
make that noise.
But I was in a tent trailer, and we had to set up that if there was anything that was going to
happen, that I was going to hit my car horn.
I had a remote for my Jeep Liberty, and I was doing that.
And I couldn't hear any movement from my uncle, my dad, but I want to let them know that
I'd like to have one of them come over and get me, and we need to figure something out because
Is there, I knew when I heard that, I knew that I was going to be coming in.
I just, I don't know why, but I just knew that it was going to make a visit.
And so then I had to hit my remote to turn the alarm on.
And then my uncle said, something's going on, you know, with me.
And so he got dressed and came over.
And by the time he got dressed and came over, something behind the trailer was your
It was loud.
It was sounded, you know, it reminds me of like, you know, I mean, I used to, you know, be on the barn and you hear a, you know, horse pee.
That's what it sounded like.
And when my uncle showed up with his gun, and I said, did you go to the bathroom before coming in?
He goes, well, I did in the trailer.
And I said, no, what I heard was not in the trailer.
and I said, well, they're around here.
And so I went back, went back in, told them when I heard and everything else.
The next morning we went out, and he took pictures of a bunch of footprints.
Oh, I'm sorry, there was another thing.
Before I went in a trailer, I looked over my Jeep Liberty, and the passenger door was wide open.
And that means something opened my door.
and because I would
there was no way that I would I would leave it you know like that
you know I was uh um
I that's where I had my gun my hunting gun
and uh I said well some someone was here
and the next day we found a bunch of footprints
Wow that made quite the interactions
uh in in that area that's also in the prospect area as well
yeah okay yeah it's a prospect area
Yeah. Yeah.
What was the approximate length of the footprints that you found?
I think he measured, I think he measured 16, you know, I think it was like 16 inches.

We found one that was pretty deep that we actually put.
a Pepsi can next to it, and you probably can put, like, what, probably four,
oh, yeah, probably a little bit over four Pepsi cans that belong.
And we just find one deep, but the other one was on, it was, it hasn't been, it wasn't raining.
It was on, it was in October.
We didn't have any rain.
And so, but we did see definite bare footprints.
you can see the toes
and my uncle
you know took pictures of that
gotcha and by saying that
you're saying that not that
they were footprints of a bear but they were
there was something not wearing shoes
because there were toes found
yeah definitely definitely
not wearing shoes and it definitely was not a bear
gotcha
now
yeah
did anyone go to
look at the area where
there was that
a loud sound of urination?
Well, unfortunately, it was just so thick back there that it was right behind basically
where I had, that was, that was off of, that was off the path where, where I heard that was,
that was, and that's what, where it was right behind my trailer was all this thick stuff.
and then it went and there was a path that went to part of it.
But were that what I was hearing, there was no path there.
So it was in the middle of that thick stuff.
Gotcha.
Any weird smells around that time as well?
No.
No.
I mean, we came across areas before they had weird smells,
but not at that particular time.
And you were saying the other hunters you've talked to,
They were, they were, they were, they were, they were people that we, we, we used to run into them every year.
And, and they used to be at this one camp.
And, and so we found, we went back to their camp and they weren't there.
And so, well, that's kind of weird, you know, these, they, they're pretty much loyal.
They'll, they'll come to that area no matter what, because they got some pretty big bowls out of there before.
and all of a sudden they showed up on one of the last days
and my dad was saying
you know why you know he asked him why you guys move and they're like yeah
you know he didn't really they really say and he goes hey
you know we had some we had some you know things happened to us
and they looked at each other they knew exactly what we were talking about
and they told them about the pine cone thing and he goes well yeah he goes
he goes that's the reason why we don't camp there anymore because
basically it harassed us all night by shaking our trailer by throwing things rocks around while we were the campfire
they didn't want us here and so we just we just thought we had tried somewhere else and but they didn't
want they didn't feel comfortable camping there anymore that is really really interesting
being a hunter out there and being in circles where you'd be talking to
to hunters, is that something that it's talked about a lot or do people not really mention
if they've encountered what they think might be Bigfoot out there?
I hear a lot of people saying they're just trying not, they're trying not to make the
connection. Those two guys, they actually have seen them before up by Diamond Lake.
So it's not, they're very familiar that they're around, but they also very familiar.
that they don't want to get harassed by them.
Absolutely.
You mentioned Diamond Lake, which has come up on the show before,
there's definitely activity that happens in that area.
So you're saying that the other hunters had sightings in that,
or was that the people that were in your group?
Right.
No, that was that was it.
Those other hunters, they said that they came up across a herd of elk that they were following.
and as one guy, I think he was, they were following them and they said they're going to go in this area the next morning and they know where they are.
So he was sneaking up to where they were and he was in the he could see elk in front of him.
You know, they blend into a lot of things and a lot of times when you're looking at five, there's another 20 that's around.
and he was looking around and he said
crouched down that probably 75 yards away
he said a Sasquatch was honeyed them too
and he said he could see it sitting there
it was in it was behind trees
but he could see it and he just got out of there
and he told me he told his whole camp he goes
we got to get out of here I don't I don't feel comfortable
in this area because he said even though that I was crouched down
I was still taller than he was.
I don't know if I've ever heard an account where one was actually hunting elk or or anything like that.
I know that they're definitely, that's one of the food sources.
But do you know what maybe what year that would have happened around at Diamond Lake?
I would have to be probably trying to think the last time we went in there hunting.
So it had been probably 20 years ago.
Gotcha.
shit. That area is really interesting. I've also heard from another researcher's names
Randy Sibley where if you're looking at a map and you have Crater Lake and to the west of
Trader is 230 goes down past Union Creek and down the prospect. I guess that area is also
heavily active as well. There's a lot of stuff that happens there that not the most positive
encounters, you would say, pretty aggressive at times.
What I hear, what they say, I ran into a hunter, and he says, the Union Creek side, he goes, they'll harass you, the Crater Lake side, they won't even bother you.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Wow.
So is that, like, on the other side of 230 then, where the distinction is?
Yeah.
Yeah, so Union Creek, Union.
Creek area. He said on that side of, I'm saying, I'd say, what he was trying to say is basically
the, you know, there's like the Rogue River kind of guys that has a little, you know, it's like,
it's like a line. And he said, left of the Rogue River, you know, if you're going towards
Bend, he says, they're aggressive. They're territorial. They will let you know they don't
like you. But you go in Crater Lake and they, they don't bother you. He said,
You'll see footprints and everything else, but you will not get bothered at night.
You know, because, you know, they said most people that are going in that Crater Lake area,
they're not, they're not, you know, party in or nothing like that.
But the other people on the other side, that's where they're more, you know,
you'll get the hunters to have the whole big camps.
They'll be playing music and whatever, and they don't like them.
You know, they don't like that at all.
You're disrupting their area.
Wow. Have you heard of any accounts where there's really aggressive interactions with hunters?
Well, just, you know, just the throwing things, throwing sticks and rocks and one and the pine cone.
There just basically seem to be more like kind of warning, you know, we don't want you here, you know.
I forgot to tell you that when I had the instant that one came in the camp at 3 o'clock in the morning,
we went up to that other camp and we asked them, did you have any, do you hear anything around or anything?
And they said, this guy says, well, we had our heater going.
But he said, I heard what sounded like something taking his hand on the top of the trailer
and running his hand through the whole side of the trailer.
Now, I mean, these fifth-wheel trailers, it was a big one.
And that thing, that had to been at least what he was talking about,
it was like, I don't know, imagine eight to nine feet off, you know,
it would have to be something that tall that can at least reach that high
to do what he said.
But it sounded like he said it sounded to him that something took their hand
and along the whole side of the top.
he can hear it scraping.
He said,
I heard that last night,
but he goes,
I don't know what it was.
You know,
he goes,
he said,
it sounded me like a branch or something or something,
but he goes,
I heard something that,
that's what it sounded like to me,
you know,
but he didn't hear any,
any calls or anything.
And I'm trying to think that,
you see,
that happened,
I think the next weekend,
we went in there
and,
I think we're deer hunting.
And my dad was on one side, you know,
it was close to that area.
And I was on the other side,
and we both have walkie-talkies.
Well, he said he can hear one making all kinds of noise.
And he was trying to,
he was trying to play it for me on my walkie-talkie.
It was that loud.
So he was that close that he could hear him that like that.
And it was pretty funny when I finally,
because I don't like to turn my walkie-talkie.
talking until I get into a good hunting area that I can sit and observe and I turned it on and then
he was calling me and he told me this this thing and I said well where they at he goes well the right
below me that's what I'm at so I got out of there you know but yeah like I said we had we had many
encounters in this area they seem to they seem to be in there pretty thick and but you know there's just a lot of
area back there. Like I said, probably, I don't know, it's probably, you know, 25 to 50 square miles that we
hunt, you know, for the most part, you know, depending how long we're up there, we hunt the first,
you know, the first big circle. And, and then we go beyond that if we are still looking for
tracks or whatnot. Wow. Those, those sounds that he was trying to get to come over to
walkie-talkie.
Yeah.
How would you describe them, would you think?
He described it.
He described it making, you know, they were making all kinds of vocals.
He said it wasn't making one long vocals, making a whole bunch of vocals.
And he said, you know, I mean, we're talking my dad back then was still, was still
probably, you know, like early 70s and not the best hearing.
so he probably wouldn't pick up a lot
if somebody had better hearing
but he just said that doer making all kinds of
vocally noises maybe even trying to talk
he said
he said he really could make sense of what was going on
but he said they were definitely
making a lot of noise
wow that that's incredible
and that was prospect area
in the 90s
yeah it was
and it's probably
an elevation where we're at
we're probably mostly in
elevation of
probably 4,000 up to
I mean we can look over to see that
we can actually where we're at we can look over
and see the rim of the crater lake
so we're up there
you know a 66 to 7,000 feet maybe
so yeah we're up there
oh wow so yeah
you're out there but you're also up there too
which is it's a perfect combination
My goodness.
Yeah.
This is some of the most detailed hunting encounter stories I've heard, especially the one that sticks out just because, you know, you think about what can pull up stakes of a tent.
I mean, has to have something.
Yeah.
Has to be someone with a hand, right?
And hand and strength because we were having to, it was basically we were almost hammering these stakes.
and the rock. And that's what surprised us more than anything is because, I mean, we had to really
hit with a big sledgehammer to get them to go in all the way to the ground. And my dad asked me,
he goes, did you pull these out? And I'm like, no. And, you know, there's, it's kind of a funny,
but I think one of the things that brings them to me during the evening,
evening is that I snore and I snore pretty bad and it's almost like they're curious about it.
That's what that's, you know, and that, and I can imagine that one when I was in the Walt Tent and that one that that that made that that that's almost like a scream.
It might have been really agitated by me, you know, that might, you know, because when I, well, sometimes when I snore, I'm pretty loud.
That's a pretty solid theory.
T.W., thank you so much for coming on.
The individual that had the siting up by Diamond Lake,
do you think he might be an individual that would be interviewed about that?
Oh, he had no problem, but we don't have their contact deformation.
Okay.
Well, if he hears this.
Yeah, we used to be, he used to work at the local gas station.
He doesn't, and pump gas.
He doesn't do that anymore.
Gotcha.
you. If he's listening, he can definitely
reach out, emails

if any hunter
that has had weird stuff like this happen
in the woods, guys and
girls, reach out, and
I'd love to talk to you.

experiences to share.
But T.W., I want to make sure that you
were able to share everything that
you came to the show
to talk about today.
There's only just a couple
more things that are interesting in this area.
One, we found completely different areas.
We found drag marks.
Now, these drag marks are on like limestone.
And what they do, and when they drag something,
they're not dragging it down the road.
They're dragging it from the woods,
across the woods, deeper into the woods.
And these drag marks are like,
there is no gravel like six inches.
So I'm thinking that's at least an elk.
And because, and it's being drug,
and it just completely wipes out the gravel on the road.
And we're seeing two of those.
That's one thing that we noticed that area.
On the very bizarre side,
my dad found a metal cylinder that he has never seen.
before. He described it to
longers. They never even heard what he's talking about.
And it probably weighed
at least, he said
he said he could even budget
and he was going to show me the next weekend.
It was down
in an area where you could
not drive. You only walk
and it was down probably
500 yards.
And we went there the next weekend.
It was gone.

My dad said it would probably weighed
at least 2,000 pounds.
Oh, wow. How big was it?
So he said it was probably
he said it was probably
I think about 8 foot long
about 8 foot long
but it was all like chrome
cylinder
and it had some really weird markings on it
and it was kind of laying
off the side
like in a ditch
and
for it to be gone
the next weekend was really
strange because it was something
so heavy and we didn't see any
indication where somebody try to back up a truck to get closer to it or anything like that.
So it's just, that's just one of those things we chalk up is weird.
We don't know.
Also in the prospect area?
Yeah, the same area.
Were there any pictures taken of that?
No.
Okay.
No.
No.
My dad didn't have anything like that.
And he was just hoping to show me next the next weekend.
Yeah, absolutely.
And he remembers it.
I think he went home and he
drew a, maybe drew a picture of it,
and drew the simples, took it to a logger
and the guy goes, I don't know what you're talking about.
That has nothing to do with logging.
Right.
Yeah.
Wow.
But one time I went up there with my youngest son,
which is my youngest son is not a hunter.
And I was,
there was some very unusual branch breaks on a pig tree.
And so I wanted for perspective,
I wanted to take a picture of my son next to these big branch breaks off the tree.
I meant they were the big as a tree.
And so I took, you know, I took a couple pictures.
And I showed this one lady that she was, she went up with us one time,
and she said she's never seen an area like that had so many breaks and, you know,
a lot of branch breaks and trees bent over, all kinds of stuff.
She said she's never seen anything like it before.
Well, I sent her that picture about a year after I took that picture.
And she said, did you see what was in the background?
I said, no.
She goes, look in the background.
And you look in the background, and there's a clear head and shoulders just crouched down.
I mean, someone can say, oh, you can say it's a stump, but it's head and shoulders.
It's shaped like head and shoulders.
And, you know, my son, my son still has that picture.
But we went back, we went back to try to find that area.
We couldn't find it.
All those branch breaks were gone.
So we couldn't find that same area to see if it was a stump.
But it looked like clear.
I mean, I showed it to a lot of people.
And there's like, they're like, that's pretty clear.
That's head and shoulders there.
but you have to interesting area and and that's the one where i believe you also sent that to me
on uh on facebook messenger it is yeah it's i can see it's on the left side of the photo
it's just wild i mean yeah it it looks just like what you would imagine if you see something
just kind of
front view of something hunched over and dark
in the tree line.
Yeah.
Yeah.
My goodness.
I'm guessing that that's a private photo, correct?
Yes.
Yeah.
Have you ever experienced anything out there
where you're like,
this is not Bigfoot,
but maybe, you know,
any weird lights or anything,
balls of light,
anything like that in the woods?
One time I was in the area that's closer to Diamond Lake.
I believe it's probably the same area where these guys were before.
I was on a side of like a clearing, and I was just walking.
I think there was an old skid road on the top of it that I was walking to get to another area that I saw deer before.
And I was there, and all of a sudden I was rushed by a sound that was so loud that it sounded like a jet taken off.
And it wasn't that windy, and I didn't see anything.
It was a sound that, that, yeah, it was so loud, but I could, I could, I, I, I never did see anything.
So it was just one of those weird things.
But it startled me.
It was so loud.
That is, that's extremely weird.
I mean, that's a pattern, too, that you hear in accounts is the loud sound that doesn't,
shouldn't be there logically and you can't find anything.
Yeah.
That's the culprit.
So, so very weird.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's another instance that, that our first,
forgot. Like I said, we had a lot of different weirdness and encounters. But before that,
we heard any, you know, any ones that whooped or anything, I went down to this area,
and it's, there's like a hole. It's like it's in a canyon and there's water there. And I went
down there before and I was really dark and spooky. It was almost like, you know, it was like,
It was like jungle-like.
And anyways, I was sitting on a clearing above that where anything that comes in front of me,
I might be able to get a shot at it.
While I was sitting there, I can hear something down in this canyon area just making all kinds of noise.
And I went back, and I mean, I heard elk.
I heard the elk going through the woods.
I know what kind of sound they make.
They make a very steady sound.
it sounds like a car just driving through the woods
but this was something where I can hear things being broke
it sounded like something was being beat up
it just it just sounded vicious
and I told my dad about it
I said God it sounded like an elephant was down there
and I never made any connection
I didn't like I wasn't even thinking Bigfoot
you know I was just thinking something was down there
you know, I mean, if it was, if it was bear, it had it been, you know, at least two big bears of
making that much noise. I mean, I could hear like, you know, small trees breaking, branches
breaking, just like, you know, all kinds of noise. So something was down there was making a lot of
noise. And there isn't that much bear activity to think that there would be two bear. And I've seen,
I've seen one bear.
I'll probably see
just maybe one bear
the whole time I was up there
in the last 40 years.
So, yeah, there's not a big
bear population, but
something was down in this canyon
making a whole bunch of noise.
And I told him about it, that
about it, and we just kind of talked it up, okay.
You know,
I got to say
one more, one more, one more,
one more, one more,
a little story.
All right.
Okay.
So my dad brought a young hunter up there during elk season, and this guy was planning.
He brought his wife, and they were planning.
They had a real nice trailer.
They had a bunch of food.
They were going to stay there the whole week.
So he said, so we knew that I was going to snow the next morning.
So he said, well, I want to go from here to there.
And it's really in the active area.
there's a definite active area
and they went right in the middle of it
and we told them that
well if you could follow it you're going to
if you go that way enough you're going to follow this road
and we'll meet you at that road in like three hours
and so after three hours we started calling for them
are you heading there you know this and that
we're calling for nothing
and we stayed there for another hour
nothing.
And it wasn't until like four o'clock that day, daytime.
He showed up.
His wife was exhausted.
He was exhausted.
And he says, yeah, my wife doesn't want to be here, so we're packing our stuff
a leaving.
And we're like, we kept on asking, what do you mean?
What's, you're planning on being here for the whole week?
And he goes, well, she,
She got scared because we saw a bear.
And she says, that was no bear.
That was her immediate response.
She goes, that wasn't a bear.
And he kind of laughed.
And we're like, well, why don't you, why were you not responding?
He goes, because I lost one of my walkie-talkies.
These were high-grade walkie-tokies.
These were probably $80 a piece.
And we're like, well, why don't you just call it and go get it?
and he goes, no, it was too much work to go through there.
He goes, that's just better off that I'm just going to pack and leave.
So, you know, he lost to walkie-toky-toky.
They saw something, and he says the bear, and his wife said, no, that was no bear.
And they packed up immediately and got out of there.
Oh, wow.
Oh, man, prospect area, yeah.
That same, yep, that same area.
Wow. Yeah, that area sounds pretty, pretty wild for sure. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for reports regarding the prospect area.
But, wow, T.W., I mean, you've got a wealth of stories from over the years about things that you've experienced.
So I want to say, thank you so much for coming on the show today.
